Mehrangarh Fort, dating back to around 1460, is one of India's largest forts. It offers lift access and galleries, guided tours, and shops for visitors. The best times to appreciate its architectural grandeur are at sunrise or sunset when the golden walls shimmer against the crimson sky. The fort stands tall at 400 feet amidst glittering blue homes and offers breathtaking panoramic views of Jodhpur. Additionally, it provides a chilling sense of history.
We recently visited Mehrangarh Fort, Jodhpur with our family and it was an amazing experience filled with history, art and breathtaking views! The fort is one of the most well-preserved and majestic in Rajasthan. From the grand entrance gates to the intricate carvings, jharokhas and massive courtyards, everything reflects the grandeur of Jodhpur’s royal era. The museum inside is beautifully curated, showcasing royal costumes, weapons, paintings and palanquins that bring the history of Marwar to life. The entry ticket for general visitors is ₹200 per person, and ₹100 for senior citizens. We also opted for a guide, which cost ₹600 for 5 persons group, the price varies depending on the group size. The guide was knowledgeable and made the tour more engaging with interesting stories and facts about the fort and its rulers. For those who prefer to avoid climbing steep paths, there’s also a lift facility available at ₹50 per person, which takes you up to the main courtyard level. We spent about 2–3 hours exploring the fort at a relaxed pace. The views from the top are absolutely stunning, you get a full panoramic view of the Blue City, especially beautiful during sunset. Inside, there are also clean washrooms, a nice café serving tea and snacks with scenic views, and a souvenir shop with good-quality local crafts. Overall, Mehrangarh Fort is a must-visit in Jodhpur, grand, informative and family-friendly. A perfect blend of history, architecture, and incredible views!

Visiting Mehrangarh Fort is always an amazing experience — I’ve been here twice, with a gap of 10 years, and the feeling of awe remains the same. The fort’s beauty and grandeur are truly timeless. Parking is available below the fort in a large designated area for around ₹50 per car. From there, you walk up to the entry gate to purchase your tickets. You also have the option to hire a guide or rent an audio device (about ₹180 per device). The audio guide works with numbered points displayed around the fort, making it easy to follow along with the history. There’s also a lift facility that can take you directly to the top, allowing you to explore the fort from top to bottom. However, if you take the lift, you will skip points 1–6, so make sure to listen to those explanations before you start, since the audio device has to be returned at point 33. Exploring the fort properly takes at least 1–2 hours, and every corner feels worth it. I also tried the Makhaniya Lassi at their café — definitely a good choice to refresh yourself during the visit. The staff at the fort are very humble and helpful, which adds to the experience. The only advice I would strongly give is: avoid visiting in the summer. The heat can be unbearable. The best time is during the core winter months.

This is one of the most important places to visit while in Jodhpur. This fort is amazing to see both inside and outside the fort. You can get here by Tuk Tuk and pay entry at the ticket office which starts at fort entrance. They accept card payments and also cash. It costs 800 Rupees per person to see the fort but worth it. You can spend approximately 2 hours here walking around and enjoying the historic buildings. It is quite warm here but there are cafes around the fort if you need to buy drinks. There are also toilets on site. I would highly recommend you visit this fort. You can also exit the fort through the Blue City side which is also another nice experience exiting the fort through the Blue City. It gets very busy from early. It is best to come at opening time which is 9am.
BCL A — Google review
Absolutely stunning fort! The architecture, views, and museum displays are incredible. The view of the Blue City from the top is unforgettable. The fort is well maintained, clean, and has helpful staff. The audio guide adds great context to the history. It can get a bit hot, so try to visit early morning or evening. Truly a must-visit in Jodhpur!

Mehrangarh Fort is a must must visit historic place in Jodhpur. Such a magnificent and elegant view of this palace. The fort is situated on a hill, approximately 122 meters above the surrounding plains. Mehrangarh fort contains several palaces, including the Sheesh Mahal (mirror palace) and the Phool Mahal. (flower palace). To visit the beautiful fort local guide is preferable to know about the history of the places. You have to spend atleast 2-3 hours for this historic palace.

An absolute masterpiece of history and architecture! 🏰✨ The fort offers breathtaking panoramic views of Jodhpur’s Blue City and showcases royal artifacts that bring the past to life. The place is well-maintained and beautifully organized for visitors. A must-see landmark full of grandeur and pride! 💙

Mehrangarh Fort Review Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur is absolutely stunning! The moment you see it towering above the Blue City, it just takes your breath away. The architecture is massive and super detailed — every wall and courtyard feels like it has a story to tell. The museum inside is really well kept, showing off royal weapons, paintings, and old artifacts that make history come alive. The view from the top is amazing — you can see the entire city painted in shades of blue. Sunset here is something else! There are also little cafés and local musicians around that make the vibe even better. Overall, it’s one of those places that perfectly blends history, beauty, and that royal Rajasthani charm. Totally worth a visit! 🌅🏰
Vinod S — Google review
It’s huge! If you’re in Jodhpur then you should definitely visit this for once. Do check the museum as it has a lot of things to experience and learn about the journey of the kings who have ruled the place. You can buy tickets inside near the ropeway to the temple. It has cafe, small shops inside and a lot of other things to explore.

Mandore Garden, located just a short drive from Jodhpur, is a picturesque and historically rich site. The garden features tomblike monuments, temples, statues, and the ruins of Mandore. It holds an illustrious past with intricate cenotaphs and sprawling lawns adorned with vibrant flower beds. The region has a centuries-old history of sandstone mining evident in its architectonic monuments like Jodhpur Palace and Meharangarh Fort.
It was a total surprise. Thought it was just another garden. Till we reach and realize it’s a slice of history. Beautifully maintained gardens, unbelievably sculpted temples and fort. Museum maintenance was a bit low. Should be improved. Must visit when in Jodhpur.

A very Unique where one can find different stones and walk a trail… In a walk there’s a different bird watching, a lake and the back side of mehrangarh fort… it’s worth a watch especially for nature lovers… the ticket price is 100 rs per adult

Went for morning trekking and it's a awesome place for bird watching . There are different tracks as per difficulty level, I was suggested for yellow tack however that's too easy and short, tried others too and on red found a lotus pond. Perfect view of fort and lake. I recommend to check those stones displayed outside the ticket counter, they are fossiles and some are very unique.

Nestled in the heart of Jodhpur's Old City, Toorji Ka Jhalra Bavdi is a beautifully restored 18th-century stepwell adorned with exquisite sandstone carvings. This ancient marvel offers a captivating challenge for photographers, with its intricate designs, arched niches, and symmetrical patterns providing an ideal backdrop for capturing stunning images.
Toorji ka Jhalra is a historical place in Jodhpur and is located very near to Ghanta Ghar (Clock Tower). It was really lovely to visit this place as it was very beautiful and peaceful, there is a little bit of crowd not overcrowded and yes this is an open place so no tickets for this place. Also the local boys jump from height directly into the water for their fun but it entertains the crowd as well. The steps here makes this place more beautiful

It doesn't have much to offer except the steep staircase you need to climb down. If the lighting is right the photographs you take might look good, otherwise they'll just look dirty. Not too crowded but it was very hot when we went. Overall worth a small visit after the Ghanta Ghar.

Toor Ji Ka Jhalra, also known as the Toorji Stepwell, is one of the most fascinating heritage spots in Jodhpur and an absolute must-visit for anyone exploring the Blue City. Located in the heart of the old city near the Clock Tower and Sardar Market, this centuries-old stepwell beautifully blends history, architecture, and culture in one frame. The structure is stunning — built from red sandstone with intricate carvings and symmetrical steps leading down to the cool green water. It’s an architectural marvel that reflects the brilliance of ancient Rajasthani craftsmanship. The best part is how the place still feels authentic and rooted in history, even though it has become a popular spot among tourists and locals alike. In the mornings, the site feels peaceful and perfect for photography or quiet reflection. By afternoon and evening, it livens up with people relaxing around, children diving into the water, and tourists capturing Instagram-worthy shots. The surrounding area is full of vibrant cafes, rooftop restaurants, and small handicraft shops that add to the charm — you can easily spend an hour or two here soaking in the atmosphere. The maintenance is fairly good, though it can get a little crowded during peak hours. Visiting early in the day is the best way to enjoy its calm beauty. If you’re a history lover, architecture enthusiast, or someone who enjoys exploring local culture, Toor Ji Ka Jhalra will not disappoint you. It’s not just a stepwell — it’s a living reminder of Jodhpur’s royal heritage and the importance of water conservation in desert architecture.

Bodies of Water
Kaylana Lake, an artificial lake in Jodhpur, was constructed in the 19th century by Raja Pratap Singh. Covering 84 square kilometers, it is surrounded by igneous rock formations and is fed by the Elephant Canal connected to the Indira Gandhi Canal. The area boasts natural vegetation including acacia trees and Siberian crane plants, making it a haven for migratory birds during winter.
Good for refreshment with friends and family on the outskirts of jodhpur. Camels ride, boating and zip lining are also available for refreshment.
Hari P — Google review
Kaylana Lake, a serene man‑made oasis just 8 km west of Jodhpur, was built in 1872 by Maharaja Pratap Singh to alleviate water scarcity . Covering about 0.84 km² and reaching depths of 35–50 ft, it sits nestled among rugged rock formations and babool trees, creating a striking contrast against the desert backdrop . Visitors often praise the lake for its peaceful ambiance and natural beauty. In winter (October–March), it transforms into a paradise for bird watchers, welcoming migratory species like Siberian cranes, pelicans, herons, and flamingos . Early mornings and evenings offer the best light, turning the water into a reflective canvas at sunrise and sunset . Recreational options are plentiful—boating is popular, with paddle, motor, and speed boats available (from around ₹120–₹250) . Nature walks, trekking to a nearby Shiv Mandir, cycling, and picnicking by the shore add to the charm . Despite its appeal, amenities are sparse. Visitors note limited facilities—restrooms can be locked or inaccessible, and there's a shortage of food stalls . So pack essentials like water and snacks. Entry is free, and the lake is accessible daily, best enjoyed from 9 AM to 5 PM . Overall, Kaylana Lake is a peaceful retreat—ideal for a 2–3‑hour stop. It’s especially lovely during winter and monsoon when migratory birds take centre stage. Just don’t expect luxury—come for the calm, wildlife sightings, and scenic views of Jodhpur’s desert landscape.

History -Kaylana Lake is located 8 km west of Jodhpur in Rajasthan, India. It is an artificial lake, built by Pratap Singh in 1872. In ancient times this region had palaces and gardens made by two rulers of Jodhpur - Bhim Singh and Takhat Singh. These were destroyed to make Kaylana Lake. Present - Very scenic and calm place specially if you are a sunset lover. Perfect for calm evening near lakeside with beautiful sunset views and boating. Few camel rides are also available with some evening snacks to munch on. Welcome maintained these days. Perfect place for a photo shoot specially your pre wedding shoot as the ambience is breathtaking specially during the sunset. Must visit once.

This place is a little far from the city area and when I visited that time the lake had not enough water so you might be disappointed and also, this place does not have that much greenery and even the whole jodhpur city need some trees and gardens so many tourists can easily attract to visit. But yes this place is situated at a small height and you can also enjoy the sunset view from the small mountain area.

One of the beautiful place in Jodhpur. Got very beautiful views of the lake, sunset and the mountain range. Place is as cozy. Enjoyed the Zip line and Boating. Though lake is not managed well and there is no option to pay by card or UPI so carry cash with you. Food prices are average, quality and quantity both are good for food except the tea. They use toooo much ginger and quantity is too low of the tea so give instructions before you order.

Balsamand Lake is a lake situated 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) from Jodhpur on Jodhpur-Mandore Road. This lake is a popular picnic spot, built in 1159 AD by Gurjara-Pratihara rulers. It was designed as a water reservoir to provide water to Mandore. The lake has a length of one kilometre (0.62 mi), breadth of 50 metres (160 ft) and a depth of 15 metres (49 ft). The Balsamand Lake Palace was built later as a summer palace on its shore. The lake is surrounded by lush green gardens that house groves of trees like mango, papaya, pomegranate, guava and plum. Animals and birds like the jackal and peacock also call this place home. Balsamand Lake is an artificial lake that was built way back in 1159 AD by Balak Rao Parihar as a water reservoir to cater for Mandore. One kilometre long, 50 m broad and 15 m deep; the lake is located in the middle of a manicured garden full of mango, papaya, pomegranate, guava and plum trees. Jackal and peacock are the prominent guests in the garden. There is an impressive red sandstone summer palace on the shores of the lake, which is now converted into a five-star property. Make a point to watch out for pesky monkeys when walking the nature trails. The area is a popular picnic spot for locals.

Ghanta Ghar Jodhpur, also known as the Clock Tower, is a prominent landmark in the bustling Sardar Market. Built in 1911, it showcases stunning Rajput architecture and intricate carvings. The tower serves as a navigational point and symbol of Jodhpur's rich heritage.
The Ghanta Ghar is far more than just a timepiece; it's the pulsating heart of old Jodhpur. This striking, 19th-century sandstone tower stands as the bustling gateway to the chaotic, vibrant Sardar Market. While the colonial-era architecture offers a fantastic photo opportunity (especially illuminated at night), the real magic lies in the panoramic views of the Blue City and Mehrangarh Fort from the top. Visit for the history, stay for the intoxicating mix of spices, handicrafts, and local life surging through the surrounding bazaar. A must-see spot that truly captures Jodhpur's energetic chaos.

1. Authentic Local Vibe You get a real feel for daily life in Jodhpur (old city) — sounds, smells, street life. It’s not polished tourist-only; more chaotic, colourful, alive. 2. Shopping & Variety Lots of options in handicrafts, textiles, spices etc. Great place to pick up local souvenirs if you like exploring many small shops. Bargaining is possible and part of the fun. 3. Street Food & Snacks The food scene close to Ghanta Ghar is lively. You can get street-snacks, sweets, lassi, etc. Trying local eats here gives a flavour of Jodhpur.

Bishnoi Village Safari Jodhpur offers an enchanting escape into the heart of Rajasthan's rich cultural tapestry. Nestled on the outskirts of Jodhpur, this village is a treasure trove for those eager to explore the eco-conscious lifestyle of the Bishnoi community, who have long championed wildlife conservation and environmental stewardship. Visitors can immerse themselves in traditional customs while enjoying activities like camel rides and leisurely walks through the stunning Thar Desert landscape.
We had a beautiful day in peace and quietness at the countryside. Chhotu was very nice! And explained us a lot about Indian culture. We have a pleasant time meeting his family, getting to see the outstanding carpets the community makes and enjoying a delicious meal. We had the chance to see different animals on our way and visit different local artisans at their places, having the opportunity to see their work directly from them and to learn more about it. We highly recommend this tour for people who want to explore the countryside of Jodhpur and have a very nice time with local families.

It was an excelent experience!! We recomend a lot the bishnoi village safari with Om, our guide, that shows everything. We have seen the traditional pottery making (and try it!), the rug weaving making, and also a great safari with jeep to see wildlife (blackbucks, deer, peacocks, etc.). We also have lunch with the Om's family and we enjoy it a lot!! It was our last stop after traveling two weeks in india, and we think that if you are visiting Jodhpur, you cannot miss it. Its a really great experience!!

I chose to take this tour with my family in September. We saw black bucks, neelgai, deers and other animals. Tried our hands at block printing and pottery and saw the traditional way of making rugs. Our tour guide Om showed us all this very patiently, wasn't rushing and was very nice throughout. It was an amazing experience of 3.5-4 hours long. Would recommend it surely.

We took the Bishnoi Village Safari along with a stay Pukhraj and it was truly one of the highlights of our visit to Jodhpur. The entire experience was well-organized, immersive, and filled with insights into the rich rural traditions of Rajasthan. He shared stories and background about the Bishnoi community, their environmental values, and local customs, which really added depth to the experience. During the safari, we got to witness traditional block printing, durry (rug) weaving, and pottery. Watching artisans at work in their homes gave us a newfound appreciation for these age-old crafts. The durry weaving, in particular, stood out — it was inspiring to see the painstaking effort and skill that goes into creating each vibrant piece. One of the most memorable moments was spotting blackbucks in the wild. Seeing these graceful animals roaming freely in the open landscape was a rare and beautiful experience. Further, the trek to the sunset point was a calm and enjoyable walk through the village surroundings. When we reached the top, we saw a beautiful view. The sky turned orange , and it was a quiet, peaceful moment that we’ll always remember. Above all, the hospitality of the owner and his family made the day feel extra special. They were kind, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about what they do. We left with not just photos and souvenirs, but a real sense of connection to the people and culture of the region

A Humbling, Authentic Experience – A Must-Do in Rajasthan My visit to Bishnoi Village Safari was truly unforgettable. From the warm welcome to the incredible cultural immersion, every moment felt special. Our host, Mr. Chhotaram, was exceptionally humble and kind, making us feel more like guests in his home than tourists. One of the highlights of the day was the delicious home-cooked meal – simple, wholesome, and full of authentic Rajasthani flavor. It was a real treat to enjoy food prepared with such care. What made this experience even more impactful were the traditional activities we took part in – watching rug weaving, block printing, trying our hand at pottery, and learning about the everyday life of the Bishnoi community. And just when I thought the day couldn't get any better, we had a lucky chance sighting of not one, but four black bucks – all thanks to Mr. Chhotaram, who knew exactly where to take us. His knowledge of the land and the wildlife was incredible, and it made the experience even more special. This wasn’t just a safari – it was a meaningful cultural journey. I would highly recommend Bishnoi Village Safari to anyone looking to connect with the real heart of Rajasthan

Chhotaram Prajapat gave us a fantastic tour. We spent the early morning in nature spotting wildlife, including the mystical ‘Black Buck’ (multiple!), then viewing a demonstration of the Bishnoi welcoming ceremony, attended and participated in turntable pottery making and finally the traditional weaving of rugs at Chhotoram’s own family home. Rugs of Maharaja quality with splendid colours. The day ended with a family meal with exquisite homemade Rajasthani food. We thank you very much, Chottaram, and we would definitely recommend this tour to anybody who wants a real, intimate, heartwarming tour of rural India and welcome into a hardworking Marwari family.

"I'm still pinching myself after my stay at this Grand Hotel! From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I knew I was in for a treat. The staff were warm and welcoming, eager to make sure I had everything I needed. My room was spacious and beautifully subtle, with a comfy bed and stunning views of the city. But what really made my stay stand out was the attention to detail -, a complimentary bottle of wine, and a delicious breakfast spread that left me spoiled for choice. The hotel's location was perfect too. If you're looking for a comfortable, luxurious, and genuinely welcoming place to stay, look no further than the this palace. I'll be back for sure!" Sometime a room becomes so subtle that it hangs on a threat to be called as boring. Felt the need of air conditioning at certain places but since, it’s a heritage property I understand that. Morning, cold buffet was fine. Overall, a good stay and there is everything for everyone.

From this vantage point, the anticipation of witnessing a vibrant cityscape was certainly present. The promise of "The Blue City" of Jodhpur, with its unique hue, filled our thoughts. Unfortunately, what met our eyes did not quite reflect the famous description we had in mind. It was a slight disappointment to find the scene differing from our expectations. Perhaps the weather or the angle of sight had something to do with it, altering the view.

Umaid Bhavan Museum is always a delight to visit — I came here after 11 years, and it still feels just as beautiful and well-maintained as before. The views from the property are simply the best in Jodhpur. There’s ample parking space, and you need to pay a small entry fee to access the museum. Inside, you’ll find the vintage car collection, which is in good condition, though I feel the lighting could be improved — especially in the morning, when it’s hard to see the cars clearly. One downside is that the guides inside can be quite pushy, constantly insisting that you hire them. Personally, I feel the museum is fairly self-explanatory and doesn’t necessarily require a guide. Overall, it’s a must-visit place in Jodhpur for its history, architecture, and breathtaking views

A beautiful and grand modern palace that still houses the royal family of Jodhpur. Only a small section of the palace is open to the public as a museum, but it’s well-maintained and gives a glimpse into royal life. You can also see the vintage car collection of the Maharaja, which is quite fascinating. The architecture and interiors are stunning, showcasing luxury and heritage together. The gardens are vast and beautifully kept, and you’ll often spot many peacocks roaming around, especially near the lawns — though the main garden area isn’t open to the public. The palace sits atop a hill, offering a breathtaking panoramic view of Jodhpur city. Parking is available outside the main boundary. The tour is relatively short but worth visiting for the royal vibe and stunning views.

Umaid Bhawan Museum is partially open for the tourists or visitors remaining part is a hotel which is not accessible to the tourists untill you are not booked the resort to stay. Here present king is also stay in the umaid bhawan which was told by the one of the guide. Here is vintage car collection which you can see. Building looks so stunning, but personally I like the place but nothing much to visit inside. As most of the place is occupied by the hotel.

Umaid Bhavan museum is part of Umaid palace. The palace is an architectural marvel and you will be spellbound by its beauty.vintage car collection is on display along with lots of historical artifacts used by the Jodhpur Royal family. Take your time browsing through the sections of the museum. The kesari kulfi available as refreshment at the stall, was tasty.

A very beautiful museum that shows the Umaid family’s history and the story of Umaid Palace. It gives a glimpse into the past life of the family, the current king, and their present-day lifestyle. The interiors are lovely, with many beautiful art pieces and paintings - especially the Oriental Room with stunning murals from Ramayana. The property is very clean and well maintained. A great place to visit for anyone who enjoys history, art, and royal heritage.

Visited Umaid Bhawan Palace Museum in Jodhpur — a beautiful glimpse into the royal heritage of Rajasthan. The museum showcases royal artifacts, vintage furniture, clocks, and photographs that tell the story of Jodhpur’s royal family and the making of this grand palace. The interiors are elegant, and every corner reflects classic art-deco design. Even though only a part of the palace is open to the public, the section we explored was well maintained and full of interesting displays and the overall vibe of the place feels truly royal. A must-visit spot for anyone who appreciates history, architecture, and heritage.

"Stepping into the Umaid Bhawan Palace Museum feels like a journey back in time. Beyond the superb, sweeping architectural design that commands attention, the curated collections are fascinating. I was particularly captivated by the delicate and extensive crockery collection, which speaks volumes about the royal lifestyle. Coupled with the gleaming vintage car collection, it's a perfect showcase of heritage. The entire experience, from the design to the artifacts, is absolutely top-tier

Tucked away in the JDH Project, Stepwell Café is a delightful retreat that invites visitors to experience Jodhpur's vibrant heritage while savoring a delicious cappuccino. The café boasts walls adorned with vintage photographs that celebrate Rajasthan's royal history, creating an ambiance steeped in nostalgia. Offering a unique blend of Indo-European cuisine, it fills an essential niche in the local dining scene with its comforting and satisfying dishes.
Wonderful setting for sundowner beer watching the world go by below. The lighting of the step well at sunset is gorgeous. Also tried the Cappuccino which was the best we have had in Jodpur. We are coffee addicts and try many coffees wherever we go before nominating our favourite. The Stepwellwell cafe gets the vote for Jodpur. Free biscuits too.

The cafe is made very asthetically. There is a main air conditioned area then there is a semi open place and then the rooftop. I was surprised to see they served beer on tap and also a full blpwn decently priced alcohol menu. I got both the tap beers. Honestly they werent worth 535 each after seeing how the manager had to fill it. It was so frothy something was up with the machine system. It was in April end and it was not the best time I understand. 10/10 for the place and vibe and stuff but not so much for the overpriced beer. I think I was way too excited to just have found hefe on tap on a random one day trip to Jodhpur. We didnt discover this cafe on our last visit to RAAS hotel for a meal. The area around is lovely and worth a visit just on a good time. The walk to the place is good. The step well view is exhilarating. We saw boys swimming in the heat jumping from different heights. Fun experience wish the beer was cheaper.

Situated inside the city. The view of the fort is amazing and keeps you mesmerised. Though it is there 7 to 9 as light goes off at 9 from the fort. So then you see it without the light. Come here by auto , as the lanes are quite narrow. Staff was good. Service was good too. Food was average. Rates are high for sure. We had drinks for 3 and food for 8 people. Paid 21000. Menu very limited. It’s all about the view and the drinks and somewhat food to accompany. Rating it 3 star overall.

I visited Step Well Café after seeing it on Instagram, and it really does have stunning views of Toorji ka Jhalra. 🌊✨ The café is tucked inside the narrow lanes, just about a 5-minute walk from Clock Tower, and the entrance itself is very aesthetic with a lovely blue street wall. It’s a small café with cozy seating, but what makes it special is the calm and serene view of the stepwell. There’s also a rooftop sitting area where you can relax and enjoy the vibe, and you can even head directly down to the stepwell from here. I tried their pasta and coffee, and both were delicious. 🍝☕ The combination of good food and a beautiful view made it a memorable stop during my Jodhpur trip. Overall: a charming little spot with aesthetic vibes, tasty food, and a unique view of Toorji ka Jhalra — definitely worth a visit!

A cozy spot with a beautiful view of the stepwell. The menu is limited, but well-curated, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a quick bite.

A must in Jodhpur! Stepwell Café blew us away. The rooftop view is absolutely breathtaking—one of those “pinch me” moments. The food was sensational from start to finish: fresh, vibrant flavors and beautifully presented plates. What really sets this place apart is the hospitality: warm, attentive, and genuinely kind without ever feeling pushy. We lingered longer than planned because everything was so good—the vibe, the view, the service. If you’re in Jodhpur, don’t miss it. Five stars, hands down.

We went to the step well as a family. There the ambience was good and the view from the rooftop was the only attraction. We were disappointed by the service staff who was a super rude dude. We were expecting warmth and smile he was behaving as if he was forced to work there. The cafe I guess just wants to entertain the foreigners and not Indians the prices are just exorbitant and the behaviour was very cold. We don’t take such attitude casually. My daughter asked for here favourite dishes if they could make them. The response was very harsh and cold. We had ordered in advance else we would have left for good. The taste was good to pathetic we ordered three dishes, pasta was good, fries just like any other nothing great and pizza was pathetic. I don’t know whether the owner of the cafe sees the reviews or not but this is to addressed. Keep good staff not Uncles and if you don’t want Indians tell us in advance. If you charge good serve well. No wonders the ratings are just okay, & one more thing they take SERVICE CHARGE which is not allowed as per law and they charge GST on it Which is even more disgusting. Would suggest people to try some other place.
Kyara V — Google review
Tourist trap. The place is beautiful and the view over the stepwell is great, but the prices are ridiculous. I was charged 350 rupees for a coffee, which is just absurd even for a tourist spot. They clearly take advantage of the location and the steady flow of foreigners. Such a shame — it could be a lovely café if they didn’t try to rip people off for something so simple. Definitely wouldn’t come back.
