McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park, located in Scottsdale and operated by the city's Parks & Recreation Department, is a 40-acre park featuring a railroad museum and various exhibits. The park offers miniature train rides, jungle gyms, and a 10,000-sq.-ft. model railroad display. Visitors can enjoy attractions such as the Paradise & Pacific Railroad with steam locomotives and diesel engines, as well as the beautifully restored Scottsdale Charros Carousel.
This place was great. Mostly free except for the train ride and the carousel which are 3 dollars per person which I thought was reasonable. Very clean and well maintained. Great places for kids to play, water fountains all around or bottles of water in the market. The model train museum was amazing. The largest display I have ever seen and really well put together. So much to see. It’s also air conditioned inside so it’s nice to get in a get a break from the heat. We had a great time.

This is a great park. The new splash pad is small and isn't shaded directly, but there is plenty of shade around it with seating. The outdoor playground is huge and recently got sun sails so it mostly shaded. There are a few things that you need to pay for to do, but they are small amounts. The indoor playground, the train ride, and the carousel. The train ride is a ten minute ride around the park field and is so fun for the kids. There is a gift shop, and an ice cream/ snack bar also which are indoor and really nice. Plenty of seating throughout. Love this park.
Wendy M — Google review
Such a neat place! Large retired train cars throughout the park. They have a small train ride that's about an 8-10 min ride, a large carousel that you can ride either for $3 per person. Ages 2 and under are free. Huge outdoor playground with many unique obstacles. Lots of space to run and play. Small restaurant, museum, gift shop and a large miniature train set with interactive buttons. You can pay $12 for a wrist band for unlimited train and carousel rides for the day. Highly recommend and such a great value!
Larry D — Google review
Nice place to visit. They have several different buildings to explore. The one with the miniature train sets is free and quiet expansive. The grounds are well kept and they have several areas for kids to play along with a small locomotive to take a ride on. Overall a wonderful place to go with large trees, benches, and beautiful shade.
Ken — Google review
Great place to take the kids. The highlight for me was the model train building. It was a huge building with model train lay outs from N scale to O scale. Unbelievable, the detail in the layouts. The train ride is more for kids, and is a short ride around the facility. The serve ice cream and good lunch foods. I had their chili with corn bread. It was home made I thought. Lots of train history to explore. It's not very expensive to get in , and is worth the time to experience.
Macroaquire — Google review
I had the best ditch day with my mini me!!! From the indoor playground to the outdoor playground to the train ride to my babygirls favorite the carousel was a blast.. but she also loved cooling at the splash pad. Thanks for an awesome day.
Nicole G — Google review
The rides are amazing and so reasonably priced. They just renovated the playground which is awesome. A new splash pad is there and an indoor playground as well. I went here as a kid and I'm still coming back!

Visited this park for the Halloween spooky train ride. The Halloween decorations and attractions are beyond expectations. It is a must to do for any toddler. Model train museum is impressive with a lot of attention to detail.

Nature preserve
Nestled on the northeastern outskirts of the city, just a short drive from downtown, McDowell Sonoran Preserve is an expansive 30,000-acre desert sanctuary. It boasts over 115 miles of hiking trails that wind through its rugged rock formations and sprawling cacti-filled landscapes. This urban nature reserve is a testament to Scottsdale's dedication to environmental sustainability and offers free access to the public from sunrise to sunset.
I’m in absolute love with the McDowell Sonoran Preserve. I’ve logged more than 10,000 miles on these trails over the last 4 years and loved every one of them. The trail system is well-maintained and patrolled by a dedicated network of volunteers. They’re simply perfect for short to long runs. I’ve been out for 20+ miles and found myself in a wonderland of desert bliss. The saguaros, chollas, animals, and views are second to none. If you’re looking for a local escape, look no further and get out to the preserve.

Absolutely recommend a morning hike in this beautiful Scottsdale preserve. I visited from Colorado and was impressed with the clean trailhead restrooms, volunteer staff helping you find the perfect trail for your time frame and skill level, and amount of free parking. Gateway Trail and nearby bridge are perfect for a morning walk/hike with not much incline although there are some little rocks so no strollers. The trailhead starts right after the restrooms. Easy to find parking lot. Our Lyft driver had never been there and we found it easily on map.
Andrea G — Google review
During my bachelorette celebrations in Scottsdale, the nine of us thoroughly enjoyed exploring the trails at the McDowell Sonoran Preserve. The stunning scenery, diverse wildlife, and pristine trails make it a must-visit for anyone seeking an unforgettable outdoor adventure in Scottsdale.
Megan M — Google review
Absolutely stunning views. We hiked the Gateway Saddle; took 2 hours with brief moments to take photos.
Brenda K — Google review
Go early! This is a beautiful preserve and it’s very popular. The parking lot is big, but fills up by 9 or 10 a.m. in the cool months. There are lots of different hikes in the preserve, but the main trail is the Gateway Loop, about 4 miles. You’ll definitely work up a sweat, and the trail is rocky (wear hiking shoes), but it’s awesome. It takes me about 2 hours. I’m slow 😉. (p.s. There’s a nice park building with restrooms too)
Kristine P — Google review
Absolutely beautiful nature preserve with a lot of hiking trails and biking trails. Make sure to bring water as fill up stations are limited. Highly suggested for a short morning hike and afternoon bike adventure.
Will G — Google review
I highly recommend the Walk with Natural Resources Coordinator at Fraesfield Trailhead. This was my first visit to Arizona and what a great introduction to the desert! The walk was easy and very informative. I enjoyed meeting others in the group — from people in their 20’s to seniors. The weather was cool (I saw frost on the ground) but the sun was warm and enjoyable. Special shout-out to Madison, our tour guide. She knows so much about desert plants and animals and gave me resources to find out even more. She has a great sense of humour and her delivery is personable and natural. I’m looking forward to returning and exploring more of the area.
Kyla — Google review
Hiking day ! This trail is an amazing view. Lots of big cactuses 🌵 🌵. The trail is flat and easy to walk. So you will have time to look up and see the cactus ❤️. Also, McDowell has some of the best mountain biking in arizona and is a must hit place if you’re in to mountain biking. The trails can be very technical so it's not exactly a great place to learn, try desert classic if your not experienced, but if your in to technical difficult climbing and intense descents then it is the place for you.

Pinnacle Peak Park in Scottsdale is a popular destination for hiking and rock climbing enthusiasts. The park spans over 150 acres and offers several trails, including the moderately-difficult Summit Trail that leads to the top of Pinnacle Peak at 1,300 feet. Visitors can also join interpretive tours to learn about the park's flora, fauna, Hohokam history, and geology.
What a great hike! We took our 6 year old here and he had no problem running up the trail in front of us. It was a bit steep but not a difficult hike at all. The views are wonderful and we would do it again! The trail is very well maintained as well!
Jason B — Google review
Great hike for easy to moderate hike with 360⁰ views. While there is a fair amount of elevation change, the 2 mile trail is very well maintained with steps, benches, and signage. It's a 4 mile out and back or can be through-hiked. The park facility is very good. I'm not a super fast hiker but did the out and back in about 2 hours.
Mike G — Google review
Great 3.2km (2 miles) one-way trail with beautiful views. Gets a bit challenging by the end but easy-moderate to hike
Gus F — Google review
We had an amazing hiking experience here today. Along our way a volunteer, Gary, told us some impressive facts about the plants, trail, and tips to see the best views. He then proceeded to continue the hike as our guide. He made our whole experience better than we could have imagined. Lots of laughs and plenty of sweat was had haha
Josephine U — Google review
What a fantastic hike. Absolutely beautiful views. The visitor Center has a place to fill your water bottles as well as clean bathrooms. There is no fee for the parking or for the hike. Bring sunscreen and plenty of water. Like most of the desert There is almost no shade.

Beautiful views of homes I wish I could afford. Nice pleasant hike but there are some tough parts. Parking lot fills up early but spots start to open up around 9 am.
Perry W — Google review
Fun hike, lots of good views of the surrounding neighborhoods and greater area. The parking is limited, but everything is super well maintained and the trail is well marked. I will say it was harder than I expected. A lot of significant inclines and declines. But a fun hike for sure.

This mall is incredible! Many stores that you don’t see in person anymore and everything is nice and swanky. You don’t even have to buy anything and just browse and take in the hugeness of everything. Easily hit your step goal of the day just from walking around.

Very nice big Mall with many designers boutiques and a movie theater. New stores are about to open. Trolley outside the Mall can give you a ride around the city. Great location in old Town Scottsdale.

Beautiful High end mall. One day I’ll know I made it when I can afford some of the crazy priced items here ha ha. I’m just not one who would ever spend thousands on a purse and such, but to each their own. Crazy seeing a Tesla spot inside. They also offer your basics like Bath and Body Works, Vans, Dillards and more here. If anything you’ll definitely get your exercise while walking this three story location.
Janelle — Google review
A very nice shopping mall. The decor was pleasing to look at while walking around. The flow worked well, food court on bottom level and all shops above. The signage helped to find our way around as first time visitors.

Tucked away in the serene Chaparral Park, the Scottsdale Xeriscape Garden is a hidden treasure that spans 5.5 acres and showcases over 7,000 indigenous plants. This garden not only features an easy walking path but also terraced planters crafted from river rocks and iron mesh, making it a delightful spot for leisurely strolls.
I was visiting from out of town and stumbled upon this garden. It wasn't too far from the hotel I was staying in so I decided to check it out. Beautiful garden with a variety of cacti and desert plants. They have educational plaques scattered around the trail and definitely learned a few things! The walk was brief, I'd plan for about 20-30 minutes tops. If you're up for a stroll, it's a nice walk!

Beautiful Set up and completely free! One of the best places to see all the local Flora. If you are in the Pheonix area and are looking for some prestine Saguaro Cacti, than this is a perfect stop!

If you are looking for a free afternoon. These gardens are a nice escape from busy streets and shopping malls. Part of a much larger complex that includes jogging paths, baseball diamonds, and a dog park.
DN — Google review
Small park to hang around and see plants. It was such smaller than what I thought, right next to a dog park. The entrance is through the park, it has no entrance on it's own. Google sent is to a non-existent entrance and we had to drive all the way around.
Adriana A — Google review
A very neat place to stop in a walk around! There’s a large dog park, two restroom locations, soccer fields, and decent parking. They have so many plants, trees, bushes, and cacti. Many of them are labeled with little signs giving the name. There’s multiple locations with a map to share where you are. The Mesquite Bosque was very calm and tranquil. I really liked that. The Water Harvest Basin was super cool and visually appealing.

George Doc Cavalliere Park is a brand-new public park in North Scottsdale that overlooks the cityscape and is full of beautiful views. The park has a shaded playground, a one-mile loop hiking trail, basketball courts, covered picnic areas, and pretty scenic vistas.
The best thing about this park is that the whole play area is SHADED. There is a small artificial grass area for playing in and some easy hiking areas for smaller children. The bathrooms are very clean and they have lots of tables if you want to have a quick bite to eat while enjoying the day. There is a basketball court and even a play area for those with dogs. My wife and I love this park for our toddler son.
Vincent A — Google review
Cute little park ..cons are no swings, no splash pad, and from the sand to the playground it’s a huge steep ramp to get up..both my 1.5 year old and 3.5 year old tripped a few times. But they lived the tiny hiking trail with cute benches for them to rest and I got some cute photos. And it’s just beautiful at this park and there’s a large turf area for the kids to run and have a picnic
Mary M — Google review
An ideal place to visit on hot summer days with sunroof-covered areas. Perfect for kids under 10. Enjoy mountain views and short (bike) hikes nearby.

This is my favorite park with my kids! It's beautiful, quiet, shaded, and surrounded by nature. Good place for kids, dogs, hiking, and basketball. My kids love riding their Scooters and bikes on the big basketball court area. The bathrooms are my favorite... made from nature. We've had each of our kids' birthdays here for the last 4 years, and everyone agrees that it's worth the drive! It's even more magical at sunset! Great spot for a photography session at Golden Hour.

update 11/16/17: Beware of rattlesnakes spotted in the area! This is a great park! It has a very well shaded playground. A large artificial grass area for picnics or water play, as it has self operating sprinklers. There are two well kept basketball courts. There is plenty of shaded area, lots of seating and picnic tables. The bathrooms are clean. There is an easy hiking trail that starts at the park, it has awesome views. There is a large real grass area. There is plenty of parking. There are drinking fountains for dogs as well.

Really awesome park for all ages. This park has very nice trails for families. You can get some really good photos of the dessert on the small hike. My kids loved the playground and large artificial grass area that includes water sprinklers to cool off in the summer. One of the most unique parks in Scottsdale. Definitely a place to visit if you are new to Scottsdale. And if you get into the hiking spirit while you are here there's Pinnacle peak and Tom's thumb trail 5 minutes away.

Neat little park in Scottsdale. Really enjoyed the views and some of the architectural elements that were brought into play. Had a very refreshing feel to the location. We happened to be there on what was otherwise a quiet day, but it's clear that there are birthday parties in the pavilion as well as basketball games (see photos). All in all, I'd recommend going and I look forward to going back.

This is a great park tucked away in the desert near Troon. Very clean, great bathrooms, and lots of shade. There’s a large grass area as well for the kids to run around on and plenty of parking. The Laser + Mirror Maze at OdySea in Arizona is a unique and entertaining attraction that combines a mirror maze with laser-dodging challenges. The mirror maze features cleverly designed locations, including scenes from the Central American rainforest and ancient Mayan temples. Visitors can test their ninja skills in the laser maze, maneuvering around green beams while ducking, diving, twisting, and crawling to avoid getting zapped.
The kids spent a while running around in the maze and kept going back in for more tries! They had a blast! The girl with red hair working the front was beyond amazing, she would turn on the lights for our five year old who was too scared to go in with the flickering lights. She really made the experience great for us :)
Bella L — Google review
It's one of the cheaper experiences at the Boardwalk - $15 vs the usual $30 entrance frees. You get to walk through the mirror maze- they provide you plastic gloves so you can feel around the mirrors. I enjoyed the theme- when you first walk in- they have a fake stone bridge with a voice playing, and then you get to walk through the maze which has pretty color-changing lights. Too bad it was short- I got out in about 5 minutes. The laser experience though is very short- you can either pick the "run away" from lasers or the "navigate through" lasers. It lasted less than a minute. Employee was friendly and helpful in guiding guests through the experiences here. Accessible entrance on first floor, and accessible parking nearby.
A Z — Google review
Another overpriced experience at the Boardwalk. We were done in 15 minutes (the mirror maze took longer). My niece and nephew had a blast and wanted to do the laser maze again (it was a minute and a half), but I wasn't paying. Only two (an adult must accompany a child) can do the laser maze at a time. Personally I enjoyed the mirror maze more. It was challenging and not what I expected. We were the only ones there which made the experience better. This would be five stars if I felt my money gave us another few rounds. Glad I tried it but definitely not worth the price.
Heather G — Google review
There are two laser room options. In one you get 90 seconds to slice through the lasers and rack up points for how many you get. The second is where you dodge lasers, Mission Impossible style. In this room you can have one or two players and choose easy, medium, hard or expert. If you buy a pass for the mirror maze you get unlimited runs all day. We used our Get Out Pass for one free run through the laser slicing room. The kids came out laughing and begging for more. It got expensive quick as i dropped $50+ for an all day mirror maze pass and a few more runs through the laser rooms. Worth it though because the kids had a blast and ran out so much energy! We ran into friends and while us moms sat and chatted the kids ran through the mirror maze for another two hours. Expensive but if the kids stay entertained is worth it Instagram: @msbusyblonde
Msbusyblonde — Google review
The mirror maze is quite fun, and tricky. I really enjoyed it, and so did my kids. The laser maze, however, not so much. It was okay, but nowhere near as fun as the mirror maze. The price was way too high, and as fun as it was, definitely not worth it, especially since it only takes about 30 minutes to get through both games. It would be a really good date activity, though.

We hosted my son’s 11th and 14th birthday here. I cannot say enough good things! The kids all had a blast! The staff were very helpful and friendly. They made cute little candy bags, provided drinks, cupcakes and all tableware. I am very happy we decided to host the party there! This was our first time going there and it’s definitely a repeat!

This is a wonderful aquarium! We had the best time here. The staff is knowledgeable and fun and the overall experience is educational and exciting. My beautiful girlfriend and I were selected for some test research that the aquarium is doing to see how their sloth "Squidney" feels about having a group of people pet her and feed her healthy little treats in a personal encounter. The building layout is wonderful and there are so many ways to be interactive and fully immersed in the experience. The food court closes by 4pm so make sure to eat before then.

Very short experience, however we got it as the bundle so didn't really have a problem with price. Although they were short, you can really have in the Maze and enter as much as you like. The laser game was fun on hard mode. Again they are very short if you plan to go to the boardwalk just for this I recommended looking into the other activities. The employee on deck was very friendly and cheerful!

Papago Park, located about a 20-minute drive from downtown Phoenix between Scottsdale and Tempe, offers an expansive area for hiking and picnicking. The park is home to the Phoenix Zoo, Papago Golf Course, Desert Botanical Garden, and other museums and attractions.
A must-visit spot while you’re in town! I often travel solo for work and always look for places that are both fun and feel safe—this hike checks both boxes. It’s less than a mile, and once you park, it’s easy to find your way up by walking around the rock. If you’re into taking photos, I highly recommend going early in the morning—it’s peaceful and the lighting is perfect. I tried both morning and evening hikes, and while the evening had beautiful views, it was much busier with engagements, kids, and general crowds. Even if you don’t hike up, the base area is worth a visit—lush with palm trees and a serene pond, perfect for a relaxing walk.

My sister/best friend of 34 years set out on the journey today. It was definitely majestic even with all the chatter that was going. Word to the wise if you go for meditation be sure to find a spot away from folks. That was definitely the only downfall of the day.

This park is definitely always wonderful in nature and peace! It’s an easier park to travel through since your agility level may be beginner yet it’s fun and always memorable. It’s a clean park and a safe one as well. The sunset is my favorite, definitely have been here for 15+ times, and recommend this place to lots of people!

This was much needed stop and reflect location. Being out with nature when it was not too hot or cold. Such beautiful views and area. I loved that there were bikers and walkers on the same trails.

Super chill with easy trails to walk around and get some nice desert views right next to the city. The Hole in the rock is a fun quick 2 min climb and perfect to catch a sunset or some photos. Stop by if you’re in Phoenix.

This is a beautiful, picturesque park with a lot of different amenities! The walking trails on the mountain are easy to do and breathtaking, but even the more common features are in excellent shape! We have utilized the archery range many times, and it’s a neat addition to the area. You won’t be disappointed if you visit!

This was magical, coming from Florida. Did a few of the small loop trails and climb to hole in the rock. First time coming out west can only imagine what larger parks would feel like.

Great place to hike! Huge variety of easy to moderate to difficult trails with some paved parts and ramadas and other more steep, mountainous parts. The rock formations are especially cool with lots of fun holes which can be entered and decent shade. It gives scenic views of the desert and cacti and on one of the trails was a pull-up bar and trail heads not only with trail markers but with interesting images and walking stick tricks on them. The desert wild-life including birds and snakes are also visible and existent.

Awesome walking track area with many options for either flat walks or some hills by veering off into adjacent tracks. Water bottle filling stations are located in at least 2 areas. Plenty of large, clean restroom facilities. And the views on a clear day are just perfect.

We recently had our soccer team party at this location and will gladly return. The staff was extremely attentive and punctual, they offered to keep our cool items refrigerated and even hands to carry our party favors, coolers and food. We reserved the “Party Island” in advance on their webpage and was perfectly suited for the 10 players and a few parents. A great value for the price. The shade was a MUST for our 116 degree day. Parking was a bit tight, as we had a bit of a hike to bring all of the party supplies, but well worth it. The boys made tons of memories and have already asked to return for next years’ party! Next year we plan to book an earlier time frame, so the boys will have an option to stay and swim longer.

Mountains
Camelback Mountain is a well-known peak in the Phoenix-Scottsdale region, resembling a camel's hump. It offers hiking and climbing opportunities with panoramic city views. The mountain is a beloved natural feature and a challenging destination for hikers, with two summit trails: the Echo Canyon Trail and the Cholla Trail. The mountain's red sandstone and granite terrain make for difficult yet rewarding hikes, leading to the 2,704 feet high peak.
Parking is free and the lot is an average size but it does stay busy, I arrived around 8 am on a Saturday and had to wait for the earlier hikers to leave. The hike it self was a bit strenuous for me (average hiker/moderately fit). It’s probably best to wear proper shoes, lots of climbing and steep slopes. Breath taking views at the end and beautiful scenery on the trail. I would highly suggest bringing water on your first go at it, overall great experience for me!
Donique — Google review
This was such a beautiful hike, it is pretty difficult but so worth it. You hike most of your elevation in the beginning and so perfect. It’s super busy on the weekends, I recommend early in the morning on a weekday.
Maggie J — Google review
It was one of the most amazing experience I’ve ever had. Even though I’m an athlete, it was very difficult probably because I went at 12pm midday in the month of May. It was difficult but the view at the summit was worth it. Parking was free and access was also free. Stay safe, follow safety rules and stay hydrated.
Paul O — Google review
The hike was hard but rewarding!! Anyone can do it if you put your mind to it! I did it 15 weeks pregnant and made it to the top and down! Take a water bottle back pack !!! Hydration and multiple stops helps make it bearable. Took us about 3 hours up and down
Botanica M — Google review
A hard hike. If you don't usually exercise, I recommend training before going. But it's nice; the trail is well marked, and handrails are installed in difficult areas to prevent falls.

Was in PHX for a conference and could see this place from my hotel room. So got up a 4:30 am and took a scheduled Uber (15-20 minute ride from the Sheraton/downtown) to hike during sunrise. - I hike a lot, but this is pretty rugged. Took me an hour to get to the top at a moderate pace. - about halfway up, there are several spots that require all four limbs. A non-technical climb of sorts. No climbing gear needed though. It’s doable but you’ve got to be adventurous. - I took the Cholla trail, which I understand to be the easier of the two trails (but not “easy”) - look for blue hash marks mark the trail all the way up — especially around the climbing parts - coming down is slow too. Plan for time. Less physical effort but got to be careful about foot placement. Some rocks are slippery. I suggest keeping three points of contact at all time. - a dozen or so people on the trail too when I went; so very public; everyone was friendly and polite. - I was worried about sticking my hand in a rock and getting a snake bite, but it’s so highly used, I’d bet they stay away. Wasn’t an issue. - it was cool and windy mid-May. Maybe 60 degrees; but the day before a colleague of mine did it at the same time of day and it was hot. So plan for both. Best to have a sweatshirt in a back pack. - bring ample water; I drank 60 ounces of fluid on this trek; bananas are a good idea too. My colleague said someone put a box of them out for hikers when she went; none when I was there. - the moon was out too on my hike (see photo) Gorgeous. I’m so glad I didn’t this. Great way to start the day — before sitting in a conference room all day!

⸻ Take a Hike – Do It Right! This is your go-to startup hike when you land in Phoenix. Start at the Echo Canyon Trailhead, where parking is free. Be prepared for a very steep climb to the summit of Camelback Mountain. From the summit, descend via the Cholla Trail on the opposite side of the mountain. The total hike is approximately 3 miles, but keep in mind: once you finish the trail, you’ll need to walk back to your car along McDonald Drive, adding another 2 miles, for a total of about 5 miles.

Did 3.6 mile Gateway loop. 78 and sunny. Took me 2 hours. Went clockwise. Bathrooms at trailhead. Very rocky (it’s Arizona!) but well maintained trails, beautiful views. The official grade of moderate/hard is definitely not true. This is an easy loop with a few small sections that qualify as moderate. I’m 70.

He said “you know you can’t take the rocks out of here.” I mean im 41 y o. For him being like a czarinas I def pocketed, and probably won’t be back. From mini-golf and go-karts to arcade games, there's something for everyone. It's an ideal spot for families looking to have fun together in a safe environment.
Fun. Fun and more fun for kids of all ages. Birthday party's and individuals. A bit pricey but you have everything in one place. We played mini golf, it was so much fun. Definitely will go back. I hope the greens are cleaned up a bit more though. There was a lot of tree debris that got in the way of my perfect scores, lol.
MARNA G — Google review
Wow, this place is run downed. The management does not put anything back into the park. The miniature golf courses are in shambles. Missing art leaves the holes empty and barren; holes that should go into tubes are covered up. The interactive structures are broken or boarded up. The greens are in terrible shape and affect the gameplay. As for the game room, half are out of order. The games can cost $1 to $2 to play - not cheap for outdated games. It’s a shame because it looks like it was once a fun place to go.

Staff is friendly and is clean compared to other amusement parks. Have grown up race cars and kid race cars, bumper boats, 3 sections mini gulf for 1 price $7 , bumper cables, water spray game, batting cage, gulf shots and small arcade w prizes for tickets. Bathrooms and small junk food restraunt. Kid birthday room can rent.
Andrea D — Google review
The driving range is old and kind of run down, but the prices are good. $12 for 110 golf balls. There's a constant whirring and buzzing that's annoying from their conveyor system, but can be tuned out with headphones.
Michael J — Google review
Don’t waste your money, this place is poorly managed and rundown. We learned after purchasing wrist bands (4- $138.00) passes, our kids couldn’t ride the go karts and bumper boats due to their height requirements; which is 48”and our child is 46”. Their website also shares that they have smaller go karts for children to ride which they no longer have. They don’t give refunds. Staff was rude and disrespectful after we shared our concerns.

I had a blast going to CrackerJax to play some late-night mini-golf for the first time. Discovered that I am not too good at it, but was fun none the less. It was dark, so I wasn't able to take in the whole establishment, but what I could tell, it looked like there were a lot of activities to experience. I feel some renovations might improved the appearance and bring in more business. Hope to bring my kids back soon and try the bumper boats and go karts!

Nice place for a long walk. Quite a large area on the northern side was fenced off, so my walk was cut short, but almost 6 km with only 1 road crossing is a huge win in my book. In the early dawn hours of a February morning, the birds sing their songs of joy. It is a nice tune, much better then the loud muffler free exhaust notes from the freeway.

Great park for a short run loop, dog walk, or playing disc golf or on playground with kids. Lots of activity here but still found quiet spots and some wildlife. I visited in December on a weekday and ran the loop trail.

My family & I came to this park for the 1st time ever on Saturday May 11th 2024. What a beautiful quite place. The views here are beautiful. This park has it all! Disc golfing course, playground, fishing, walking/bike trail throughout, dog park, volleyball court & obviously restrooms. So you can do almost anything here. And... the best part is it's not a really busy park like other parks in the valley, it's like a hidden gem. The fishing here is awesome! You'll see fish jumping all morning & night here, catching them is another story lol. I caught 1 baby catfish & released him, maybe I'll get him back in a few years when he's bigger. Definitely a cool park go check it out, you won't be disappointed. We'll definitely be back from here on out.

It’s not the prettiest park I’ve ever been to, but definitely not the worst either. We rode bikes through the trails, and I probably wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re fairly experienced there’s a good amount of uphill riding that can be tough, especially in the heat. It didn’t help that it was around 100°, but even with the challenge, we had a great time and made some fun family memories. A solid spot if you’re up for a bit of a workout!

Where do I even start?! From the moment we arrived, The Phoenician delivered an unforgettable experience of luxury, ease, and pure indulgence. Every single detail... from the breathtaking views of Camelback Mountain to the impeccably designed rooms... made this birthday getaway feel like a true oasis in the desert. The property itself is immaculate; modern elegance with a classic touch. The grounds are perfectly maintained, the pools are serene and photo-worthy, and the spa? Absolutely divine. I spent hours unwinding at the rooftop spa pool, and I can honestly say I left floating. But what really made this stay exceptional was the service. Every staff member we encountered was warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful...from valet to concierge to the poolside attendants. They didn’t just meet expectations, they anticipated our needs. One staff member even gave us spot-on recommendations for local restaurants and lounges that ended up being highlights of our trip. This hotel understands the meaning of true hospitality. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just in need of a luxurious escape, The Phoenician will wrap you in comfort, class, and a kind of care that’s hard to put into words. I can't wait to return. Consider this my official love letter to The Phoenician.

Very good but not 5 star. We arrived early at 10:30 and were able to get into our rooms upon arrival. That is always a plus, the downside was it didn’t appear the room was fully prepared for the new guest as there were half empty water bottles that greeted us on the table and a funky stain on the chaise lounge (pic included). The room was large, but felt a bit dated. A surprise for us was the bidet in the bathroom, not common in American hotels. My wife had a facial at the spa and I played the golf course on site. Both were good, just not 5 star good. Dinner was also on site at the Tavern the first night and that experience was 5 star. During our stay we had breakfast in the room and at Mowry and Cotton and those meals and service were 5 star. Accommodations at the pool were a bit strange to have cushioned lounge chairs at the family pool but not at the adult only pool. Hence, most couples even without children went to the family pool. In regards to the cushions on the lounge chairs, they were filthy and strained. I would never lay on one with out a towel. See pictures attached. The Phoenician needs to invest in new pool seating and side tables as many were damaged. Service at the pool was a 3 at best our first few days, but a 5 on our last day with John providing great service poolside. The Phoenician is a very good option for a stay in the area, just not a 5 star experience.

Stayed at the Canyon Suites, which are phenomenal. You get access to the Phoenician facilities. Overall, it’s pretty good. The pool food the first day was awesome. Ordered the same thing the next, and found an unwelcomed surprise. A piece of long metal wire in the green salsa. I put it in my mouth but thankfully spit it out quickly. The server took it back and didn’t charge, but no management acknowledgment or anything. This could have been a very serious issue, which thankfully it wasn’t for all parties. We spent 4 nights here in late October 2025. The hotel is laid out on a large piece of land with plenty of space to wander. Our room was facing the cacti garden and was a quiet location. Even though we were on the fifth floor we could access the garden and walk through it to get to the lobby and other parts of the hotel. We had meetings here and utilized the meeting rooms and east and west lawns for breakfast and lunch. They had plenty of umbrellas to give shade during these meals. The food for all meals was a wide variety of options from protein, carbs and fruits.

White House design studio Sherry Molly Victoria Jeremiah Tommy Angel Eleazar Angelica Roberto Shaun Along with the White House design studio the hotel staff tonight was amazing. The thought, kindness and authenticity of the staff made the night amazing. I spoke with the manager Emily and she genuinely spoke so highly of the staff which only corroborated what I already thought. Thank you so everyone and their hard work, I wish I could name more people in my list the night was so amazing and that would not be possible without them! Thank you thank you thank you! Such a great night and you can tell the blood, sweat and tears put into it💙

My husband and I absolutely love this resort. So much so we are on our 5th visit for my birthday and our Anniversary. We were married at the resort 2 years ago and we love it here. The staff are top notch and so attentive and the housekeeping staff is remarkable. I only have one complaint. We have been here 4 nights and it is usually a welcome get away. However, unfortunately we were here during a large conference of over 600 attendees who had a large and very loud outdoor breakfast starting at 7am right outside our window on every single morning we have been staying here. At 8am they call all attendees in with a loud bell from breakfast, so if the noise of 600 people didn't already wake you, the bell will. For a couple who were here for a birthday/anniversary trip on a break from children this was a bit disappointing. Next time you should place all of the conference attendees in the same area of the hotel that overlooks this very loud breakfast and put the rest of us who want to sleep in past 645am on the other side of the hotel.

The valets scuffed my personal vehicle and didn’t say anything. In general we had higher expectations for a 5 star hotel. I put my family of 4 in a suite. It was ok but there were access panels throughout and it was just ran down. The elevator was out of use we had to use a service elevator that dropped us off out in front of the hotel then walk around and into the lobby. Tables at the pool were so broken they couldn’t hold drinks. Servers at pool were nice. Just off given the price point. Nicer than other hotels but not 5 stars.

Beautiful property, clean and beautiful rooms overlooking the cactus garden. The level of service was top notch. Tiffany, the concierge greeted us prior to arriving. Helped us get an early check-in, which was much appreciated. As we checked in at the service desk, Ben was great and helped us select a beautiful room. When it came to dinner, I reached out to Ben and he suggested a wonderful Mexican restaurant which was outstanding. Truly appreciated. Even the valet service personally delivered our bags to our room by the time we checked in and got into the room. Overall, this was an amazing experience and I will happily come back. 😁

Park
Chaparral Park is a 100-acre public park located in Scottsdale, offering a wide range of activities for visitors. The park features a swimming pool, fishing lake, sports courts, and an inclusive playground designed for children with disabilities. It is one of nine parks along the Indian Bend Wash Greenbelt and includes amenities such as ballfields, sand volleyball courts, and an exercise course. Additionally, there is a three-acre dog park with separate areas for active and passive dogs.
Super cool park! I loved all the ducks and pond. They had some different playground toys. Definitely great for Pokémon go players! I’ve attached part of the map for that as well so trainers can see what’s there. 10/10 would go again.
Rebecca C — Google review
I enjoyed a walk through Chaparral Park this morning. There weren’t too many people out when I first started, but people started coming halfway through. The walk is nice and clean and there were ducks around the pond areas. It is adjacent to a fairly busy road, but it didn’t disturb the walk too much.

5 star attraction in Scottsdale. Such an oasis in the city with fun for everyone. The little ones have the playground. The dogs have two facilities to choose from - active dog park or passive dog park. And the rest of us have a mixed shady path to walk / run, picnic, play baseball or soccer or basketball or even fish in the relaxing pond. Need I say more ......
Alain G — Google review
Lovely park with a paved walking path around a pond, a dog park, a playground, fishing, and bathrooms. There are lots of species of birds that visit this park to include cormorants, blue heron, killdeer, and even a bald eagle stalking ducklings. There are lots of tables and benches for seating or picnics and trees for shade. There are also a few large fields for sports or training.
Rebecca ( — Google review
I counted 7 pieces of Calisthenics equipment around the loop of the lake. It’s pretty unique to have this equipment in a public Scottsdale park, views, and wildlife at the lake add so much too. Great place to chill or exercise!
Aaron D — Google review
Came here for the trail around the lake. It’s about a mile around the lake and 1.5 if you go around the fields. Roomy path to walk/run and people were courteous with their space and letting you know if they were passing. Came around 8am. Nice breeze and plenty of people fishing. Great little spot to hang out or get a good work out in.
BMF G — Google review
This park is enchanting. The lake is beautiful in the middle is an island filled with ducks, the kids can fish off the bank. Additionally the park has a basketball court, and a giant children’s playground. Plenty of seating and BBQ pits. A really family fun time.
Richard K — Google review
This place isn’t just a park, it’s like someone took the concept of “public space” and went full bodybuilder with it. It’s huge, loaded with trails, fields, courts, and random areas where you could probably start a flash mob or a medieval joust and no one would bat an eye. Perfect for biking, running, walking, or just letting your kids burn through their sugar rush while you “supervise” from a shady bench. I barely made it through a fraction of it before realizing I’d need a snack stash and possibly a search party to explore the rest. There’s enough space here to accidentally wander into a new zip code. Definitely going back, but next time I’m bringing a cooler, and maybe a GPS tracker so I don’t end up in another city.

Beyond great experience despite my husbands circumstances. We were able to get right in, into a nice big room. The staff was beyond amazing and helpful. Big thank you to our day nurse Holly and our evening nurse Trinity and Dr Nagra and the head cardiologist, and cleaning staff. Highly recommend if you are in need of quality care.

Not a very large park. Trails seem to dead-end randomly instead of loop which would be awesome since you're there trying to enjoy the desertscape. A lot of the area mapped is of restricted area.

6 Pickleball courts, frequently busy. DO NOT RECOMMEND FOR ANYONE NEW TO PICKLEBALL OR NEW TO THIS LOCATION. The regulars are particular about play, and do not express much patience. Overheard multiple people talking down about other players.
Lindsey K — Google review
Nice big park. Well maintained and manicured. Playground, baseball fields, pickleball courts, restrooms clean and available. Lots of rabbits and quail due to the surrounding desert landscape.

Very peaceful place..Dog owners are very respectful. Beautiful green grass. Our lil girls loved it! We miss living over there.

Beautiful park, but in middle of afternoon there were a pack of coyotes so be careful!! Lots of shade in the summer snd much cooler in the grass

Small playground. Pickleball courts. Baseball diamond. No frills - simple park.
Jason T — Google review
I'm an out of town visitor. Was welcomed and put into rotation on courts immediately on arrival. Very friendly and incredibly well organized. I only played with one jerk in 2 1/2 hours (and we all know there's always one jerk, right?) Great courts, lots of parking, some shade for resting, water fountains. Would recommend you NOT show up if you haven't played at least some, preferably have had some lessons, and for sure you know the rules, scoring, where to stand, etc.

The Park is a great place to spend time, with easy parking and a popular restaurant called The Henry. Despite occasional delays, the staff's friendly attitude and complimentary treats make it worth the wait. Customers have enjoyed dining at The Henry for lunch, praising its food and efficient seating. While some find the environment noisy, many agree that it's a good business park with an excellent dining option.
easy to park at The Park. Headed into The Henry for a lunch with my daughters on one occasion and with my wife and niece on another. Both times we were seated without wait and enjoyed our lunch at The Henry! We will return another day for more items from the menu!

Food was really good and the service was terrific. We celebrated my friend’s graduation and the sever brought this treat out for her. It gets noisy inside and at times hard to hear the person right in front of you.
