The most easy ones are less than half a mile and are ok for children to walk and also check out the garden area and butterflies! The views are amazing and you can actually see Beltline Rd. and some of Grand Prairie! The Pond is nice and plenty of room to sit and enjoy the view! Alot of decent inclines and declines but overall a good leisure hike. I definitely feel bikers would enjoy it alot. I wish people would stop throwing trash in or around hiking trails. I started with the light colored trails first, Next time I will start with the dark colored trails. There are colored marks and signs,but you really have to pay attention to them or will travel the same trail twice I love the hills and rock stairs, it gives it that intensity! I finished the trails in a little over 2 hours. There are separate trails for bikes, but not all bikers use them, so be mindful of that. The trails have bike ramps and quit a few bridges you have to cross. A lot of trees along the trails are color code to pair with the trail you are on and there are QR trail codes you can scan There is what appears to be a homeless encampment somewhere by the trail, but I didn't see any homeless people. Overall great hike! I will definitely be going back

The trail here is definitely more challenging as it starts with ascending hike with lots of rocks on the unpaved trail path. You’ll see wildlife like spider and butterflies during your walk. It provided enough shade in a rather warm October morning, but I cannot give a park or nature preserve a 5-star rating for not allowing dogs on the trail. I like the bird viewing area upstairs in the gift shop with scope available, and don’t forget to check in at the gift shop before you hike.

Many benches available to sit and rest. Nicely shady picnic area with plenty of picnic tables near the main entrance. Donations only, no fee.

I have been here alone multiple times and have never experienced anything bad, yesterday in the morning I decided to go with my gf and we came to find out they opened 2 new trails, I personally loved it because it made our walk longer therefore I decided to tell my sisters that they opened 2 new trails and my oldest sister got excited, so she decided to go as well with her boyfriend. Later that day my sister sent a picture of cops outside of the trail! I was so confused because she told me to never come here ever again. I received a call from her and she proceeded to share with me that they were walking on the trail when suddenly they seen a black dog alone with no owner and it was barking, as they continued their walk they seen a guy and it appeared to be the dogs owner, since the dog kept barking they got scared & they decided to ask the guy if his dog bites and; the guy looked at them confused so they repeated the same question in Spanish, the guy replied saying “no, that one just barks” in a Spanish weird accent. The guy and his dog continued walking out of the trail and my sister and her boyfriend continued walking deeper into the trail, once they got to the big pond where the 2nd new long trail was made they decided to stay there to enjoy the view, when suddenly my sisters boyfriend turned around and the guy was standing behind him with his dog and had a long thick tree branch the guy wanted to hit my sisters boyfriend in the head with it but since her boyfriend raised his arm up he only was able to hit him on his arm. My sister screamed and she fell into the nasty pond water and her boyfriend did too! The guy looked at them with anger and told them to “leave” and to “get out of there” so they ran through the long new trail and called the cops, we don’t know if the cops were able to find him. Please be careful here and if you want to come here please take pepper spray, a taser or a gun. Unfortunately I won’t be coming here anymore:(

This trail and creek combo was more than I had anticipated. Note: this is not the paved trail. That location is up the road about 100 yards or so, and although it has a similar name, it’s more suited for general walking and inexperienced hikers. This trail isn’t difficult, but you’re basically walking through the forest. So don’t plan your outing if it’s getting close to evening hours. Overnight car sleeper was my first sight. Really huge, bulky dog with bleeding ear tips was my second. Walked right up to me and stuck head in my open truck door, sniffing and begging. Tense moments. "Black gumbo"/ clay soil, common to the region, will build thick layers of clay on your boot soles or tires. You can gain 2" height, no problem. I think the bike did worse than walking would have. Can't recommend a bike here unless you know the soil is completely dry. Generally, this place is only for the most intrepid soloists.
