Lito's Empanadas at Revival Food Hall is a must-visit spot on North Clark Street. The empanadas are described as super delicious, fluffy, and fresh, with options like fajitas, chorizo with cheese, and chimichanga with chorizo. The sauces are also highly recommended, especially the Green jalapeno salsa and sour cream. Despite the long lines during busy lunch hours, the service is quick and staff are friendly.

Been here twice. Both times I had tasty empanadas with choice of green or red sauce - both are great. I also got a lunch deal this time that was like $10 for a beef empanada, side, and a drink. I got elote in a cup for a side and it was a good amount/shareable and delicious. Recommend the restaurant fully. Only downside is how busy the food hall gets and can be a bit of a line and gotta hunt for a table to eat at.

It’s been a real challenge to find a real good crispy empanada in Chicago. In my visits to Miami, I would always go to Versailles Restaurant which has fantastic empanadas. Living in the Chicago area, it was depressing not to find anything close to that experience (and I tried quite a few), until trying Lito’s!
I was at the food hall for a different place but wanted to give Lito’s a try and glad I did! I had the Chicken & Mushroom and the La Pastor. Both great!
The lady at the counter also shared the location of their main restaurant as well so will eventually check them out. But at least I know there is a place with great empanadas in Chicago.

This place is always popping so of course it catches your attention. They open the windows to make the super crowded space open air and have seating along the side of the building too. They have a great menu full of options so there’s something for everyone. I got the campesino breakfast and it looked like only a little food but it was actually a perfect portion and filling! Though I wish I would have got a side of rice and/or avocado. The steak sandwich was delicious too, so well seasoned and full of flavor! The Arnold Palmer was a good choice too.

This was the first time I ever had Costa Rican food and this was the best choice. Cousin Vinnie made that Tik Tok and Cousin Vinnie did that!!! I've been going to Irazu for 15 years and every time I've been in Henry and his staff has been AMAZING!! Their food is amazing, my go to is the chifrijio and empanadas to start. I usually get the steak Pepito with avocado and hot peppers so I can have room for the must have OATMEAL shake. I take all my friends and family here. We've ordered from 90 miles in the past and we've enjoyed the food and the portions were good but last night was a complete disappointment. Not only the price that we paid for The Chef's Board ($72) but the quantities in the boxes were not full.
This meal is supposed to feed 2 people. Clearly not the situation. The steak was so tiny, and the rice and beans were not filled to the top. There were only 3 shrimp in this board.
The chicken fricassee was about half of breast. Not what is pictured on others plates via the reviews here.
I was so disillusioned as this was raved about by many.
I will say, the food had great taste but the portions definitely put a damper on dinner last night as well as the money spent on something that didn't really live up to expectations.

Overall Thoughts: This is a popular spot in Logan Square touted by Guy Fieri and famous for its Cubanos. I tried the Cubano and Media Noche sandwiches and though they were good, both were lacking in flavor compared to other Cubanos/Cuban food I’ve had elsewhere. The service was pretty slow, but I enjoyed the vibes of the space— the interior is adorned beautifully with ample murals/art. Overall, it’s a bit pricey— clocking in at $17-18 per sandwich with a side of fries or plantain chips, it’s definitely pricier than most other comparable Cuban restaurants in Chicago.
Food I tried:
- Cubano with Fries (4.2/5) and Media Noche with Plantain Chips (4/5): The Media Noche is basically the same as the Cubano except with soft sweet egg bread instead of traditional pressed french bread. However, I still preferred the crispiness of the Cubano’s original bread over the Media Noche’s soft one, which eventually got kind of too soft / soggy. The plantain chips were +$1 but I liked them a lot— they were crispy and flavorful. Overall, both sandwiches tasted good and I would order/eat them again in the future, but they could’ve used more mustard— they were a little dry overall / lacking sauce.

Nothing like what you can get at "Calle Ocho" 8th street in Miami Florida
The service is none existent, our waitress just kept on disappearing for long periods of time and kept on forgetting to bring us items that we asked for like silverware, lemons or limes, water, napkins.
Even when we asked for our check, we had to wait about 25-35 minutes to get it and another 15-20 minutes for our receipt.
She simply was more interested in social media and her phone.
I had the "Salmon a la Plancha" and it was way over cooked tried to get the waitress attention to see if they could remake it, but she just disappeared and I ended up eating the fish jerky.
To be fair, the calamari creole or "Calamar Criollo" is very good and the shrimp empanadas "Empanadas de Camarón" are delicious.
If I ever go back, I'm going to skip their entrees and stick to the appetizers.
The entrees are too small and the quality is below average, it's just not worth the price.
I also agree with some of the other Google reviewers that commented that this place is filthy.
It needs a deep cleaning and they also need to pressure wash all of the tables in their patio.

Loved the skirt steak here! A very friendly restaurant/bar serving great stakes at reasonable prices. We were surprised by live music, which was very good! I was walking past on a cold morning and stopped by to get a hot cocoa. Ended up grabbing a chicken mole empanada as well. Both were delicious! They gave me a nice salsa on the side to add a little more spice and flavor to the empanada, and the hot cocoa was so good, I practically drank it in one sip. Great service, great atmosphere, great food/drinks! It’s card only, just a heads up. Really great to grab and go as there’s no seating inside (and only a small patio outside). What a fun & delicious spot by Humboldt Park. We had a group of 7, but the server was super nice about it and offered to split checks up front. There is a service fee for groups of 6 or more which added a few bucks to each check but totally worth it since service was excellent and friendly! Also food came out promptly. I highlight recommend the beef empanadas or trying one of the many Arepas they offer. Next time I would try the veggie one which looked really good. I got the chicken and mushroom one- it came with a TON of gooey melted cheese. I was expecting chopped chicken but it was more of a stewed, shredded chicken which is more traditional. Overall great vibe in the place, very casual and bright Easy street parking on side streets just watch for street cleaning signs otherwise it’s pay for park on the busy street.

Ordered takeout on a Wednesday and the pickup was a breeze. Tried the La Parrillellera Arepa which was an absolute home run. This thing was oozing with juices but the exterior held it together well. So much flavor from the chicken, chorizo, steak, avocado and cheese. Also tried a fish empanada and while the exterior was exceptional, the fish filling wasn’t my favorite. Placed an order a day in advance for the next day for pickup at 3pm , arrived at 4pm & they never did the order . He mentioned he “ forgot “ & had the ticket on hand . Had to wait over 30mins . Very disappointing!
After 30mins i went to pick up my order the owner saw my review ( i placed it while waiting ). Excellent service. The staff is so sweet and attentive. I went twice (2 different days and times). I had to go back for the margherita empanada!! Definitely the best one. You really can't go wrong with any of them, but of the 5 different kinds, margherita took #1 spot 😁. The chorizo one could have used more cheese, but that's a very minor complaint. The garlic sauce is amazing, but only paired well with the margherita. Honestly, I'd buy just on its own if possible to use with vegan pizza. Excellent business. Overall, a very pleasant experience.

i've been checking out their menu and seeing these cute empanadas everywhere for months so when i was downtown i thought it would be a good idea to stop by. the workers were very friendly and helped recommend flavors to choose! the store is small, but there are a few seats along the wall. i think it's ideal to take out, but i ended up eating at one of the seats along the side since i was hungry.
i ordered one tinga, one sweet potato chili, one andean, and one smoky mushroom empanada. first of all, i loved the colors! the sweet potato chili had activated charcoal and i thought it was very interesting to see the colorful doughs. it was nice to know they were made with veggies too. they were EXTREMELY hot when they were fresh, so definitely something to look out for - i was too hungry and totally burned my mouth, although it was worth it! i think the sweet potato chili was my favorite. it had a nice kick to it that i really enjoyed.
i do think that they gave me a margherita empanada instead of the andean, but that one was good too. i was a little disappointed because i had been excited to try it. not a big deal though!
overall i enjoyed the empanadas here and i was happy i finally tried them. definitely a worthwhile stop if you're downtown and looking for something good to eat!

Holy empanadas! What an amazing find here in Downtown Chicago for some of the most amazing packed dumplings.
They offer a huge selection of empanadas - all are about $5 and vegan. Jackfruit is a common ingredient in all of their shredded meat varieties, and this ingredient really makes the empanadas stand out.
My favorite ones include their Tinga and Mushroom Empanadas. Ordered a box of six for $23 but didn't get the garlic sauce since it wasn't included, but you don't need it to really enjoy these fantastic flavors.
Even after the empanadas, I was ready for one of their acai bowls and wow - what a great decision. This location also contains a Deep Purpl, a local acai staple. You select from four different sizes and have unlimited toppings that are listed at the cashier. I think I went through and added 10-12 of these toppings including shaved coconut, almond butter, fruit, chia seeds, granola, and more! The bowl was excellent with great texture and taste.
Looking forward to returning here the next time I'm in the city.

Best breakfast ever! Stopped here for a quick breakfast and got a vegan strawberry banana smoothie along with a big pack of empanadas! It was all so delicious, and I will be back when traveling! Love this place!! They’re all prepped so it’s super fast service. I tried the Tinga (recommended by staff), sweet potato chili, chorizo cheese & mushroom. I think the tinga and chorizo were my favorite. The sweet potato chili was the most meh out of all of them but they were all great. BEST Plant Based Empanadas!!! Omg these empanadas are super delicious. They will give a tough competition to any meat based empanadas. I love that they have both savory and sweet empanada options. Each of the empanadas are filled with delicious filling that will wake up all your taste buds. Love love the authentic Brazilian flavors in them.
They offer ten savory flavored and two sweet flavored empanadas. I tried the Tinga, Sweet potato chili, smoky mushrooms, Andean, corn, and chorizo cheese and potatoes . I loved every single one of them. It’s a plant based/vegan lovers paradise. A meat lover like me is also addicted to them. I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while and I finally went and was disappointed. I ordered the pulled bbq and the sauce didnt taste too good and it was a bit spicy and the dough was really bad it was super dry. I also ordered the corn one and it was super basic and had no taste to it the dough was also really bad. The lavender matcha latte was good but not worth going back for. Also feel like a payed too much for three things I didn’t enjoy the total was 17$. Don’t recommend this place.

This place is amazing!! One of our favorite spots for dinner now. I’m so picky with cocktails and their Mardi Gras was one of the best I’ve ever had! We also tried the cucumber and coconut mojitos and they were delish (coconut was def better). It just doesn't get better than Folklore when you want the full argentine experience. Lots of delicious appetizers. Love the eggplant "berenjena escabeche" and the provoleta.
And of course - the meat. All three of us had the El filet, juicy and cooked to order. The medium was medium and medium rare was medium rare. Seems simple but it's not. Creamiest spinach mashed potatoes on the side.

We came here on a day where a festival was happening on the street, luckily we had reservations. The music Nextdoor (maybe their bar) was very loud. We were seated quickly and served pretty quickly as well. The restaurant itself is very cute and spacious.
They were out of certain drinks/menu items because of the festival issue. However, it wasn’t a huge issue for us. We tried to many different items - since it was our first time here.
We had the spinach empanada- I chose this because it was vegetarian but I wasn’t a fan. My partner did like it (I am usually very picky). We also picked the provoleta and this was delicious, almost like eating this in Argentina. Very good, this was my favorite item. My partner had the chorizo trio and he said it was good, but nothing too superb.
For entrees we had the ravioli with both sauces red and white and it was yummy, but again just too much food so I only had a few bites. It’s been a few weeks and I cannot remember what my partner had (the steak) also said he enjoyed it, but not sure he was blown away.
I will say that we had the flan as desserts and it was DELICIOUS. Perhaps the best I’ve ever had
I do recommend this spot, especially if you are in the mood for it. It was a good experience.

Folklore served up some of the best steak we’ve had in Chicago. And we’ve been to many of the best steakhouses in the city. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. We were legit surprised because this place has good reviews but is never talked about or considered a top steak spot in the city.
The “El Che” was the star and came out sizzling on a personal grill. Portion was enormous. Could be split by two people.
Empanadas are pretty good too. Wine was fine.
The only issue was the bar side of the place was banging music. Super aggressively. And the restaurant side gives off a romantic candle lit vibe. Had to scream to have a conversation. Fwiw - we went during Do Division Fest so that could have impacted the music and craziness of the bar side.
Either way will be back. Steak was super good!

We met up with friends at Boleo at the end of our trip to Chicago and had a great time! We showed up for happy hour and got drinks and small plates. Chase was our server and he made us feel so welcome - he was warm and funny and even brought me an extra mocktail. There was a live flamenco dancer that brought so much life to the space on a rainy evening. This restaurant is on my way so I've stopped by a few times to get a breakfast sandwich, mariquitas and cafe con leche.
The lady at the register is usually friendly and is fast to get the order out.
I have ordered ahead and picked up at the restaurant and they have been accurate.
The food has been goo, as for the Cafe Con Leche, it is very sweet, then again I am not used to put much sugar on drinks so it could be me on this last observation.
I did not like that they use Styrofoam cups and containers, they are not good for peoples health specially for hot drinks or food, as for cold items they might be ok.
I do like that they have a large eating space and it is handicap ready.
Parking is also free in their parking lot, there is also space to park on the street if parking lot is full.
I would like the change on the use of Styrofoam but it is just my opinion.

This had to be the worst cuban food I’ve ever had. The lechon sandwich was extremely salty and dry. Overpacked with dry lechon meat, mayonnaise, and onion, I couldn’t finish it. The maduros were dry and tasteless, not even the butter bread was good. How can you mess up bread and butter? Again, hard and cut into these weird long pieces that tried to resemble “crazy bread” or bread from Olive Garden, a very miserable attempt at that. No, I would not recommend this place if you’re looking for good Cuban food.

I went with my wife to this restaurant for a lovely anniversary dinner by the Chicago River. The restaurant is well located and has plenty of sitting inside and outdoor. It has an ample roof top with incredible views to the river and Chicago Downtown. The venue is elegant yet modern. The staff is friendly and bilingual Spanish. We were promptly welcomed and seated outdoor as we requested. The menu is online but I suspect they have paper copies as well. The menu is ample with mostly Mexican dishes, seafood, and steaks. They also carry comfort food and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The food was served pronto and it was delicious. My wife had crab legs that she enjoyed very much. I had salmon and fried shrimps. I highly recommend this venue for dinner and for private activities.

Absolutely great experience! The food is good and the service is excellent. Plenty of staff who all seem happy to be there. We went there to celebrate a birthday and they went above and beyond. The fried shrimp were fantastic, the steak tacos were great, the seafood flautas were pretty good, but the lobster roll was rather underwhelming. Happen to be on the Northside of Chicago and wanted some bread so googled Colombian bakery and Mekato's popper up and wow it did not disappoint. The pan de Bono was so soft and chewy and cheesy. Noticed this place as I was in the neighborhood and saw the great reviews. They are well earned! It's run by a euro/Filipino couple that puts their heritage into their food. We drive out from the suburbs to consume these gems. They have been a blessing during Covid since they're easy to consume in the car without a mess. The chorizo egg is a family favorite of ours, but my husband loves the goat cheese & date one is. My kids also love the macaroni and cheese. They're all stamped to easily identify which is which too. I cannot believe someone at this location thought it was an excellent idea to put these for delivery. Whoever burnt these, should have remade them before sending them out. I reached out to Ubereats and they were only able to give me a refund for the service fee. This is unacceptable. I do not recommend this place.

This is an amazing restaurant! I'm so glad I finally stopped here. Me and my partner stopped in for a late lunch, and we we're blown away by everything. We tried the pork chops, the goat stew, the yellow rice with pigeon peas, and the mofongo. Everything was extremely tasty, and full of flavor. Easily one of my new favorite restaurants in Chicago. The staff were super helpful and very friendly. They are easily serving up some of the best Puerto Rican food in the city. I cannot wait to come back and try more from the menu.

Such a good place! We ordered a beef empanada which was super crispy yet light and flavorful. For my steak sandwich, it was juicy and was delicious. The fries even impressed me as they have this seasoning on them that elevates the fries. We ordered their cake of the week and it was Tres Leches and it was amazing. This place is great! The food was awesome and so was the staff! I am learning Portuguese and the staff was so friendly and helpful when I ordered in Portuguese for the first time. If you have never had Brazilian food before, I would recommend the Pao de queijo (cheese bread) and coxinha (a fried dough stuffed with meat or cheese) but you can't go wrong with any of the menu! The steak, rice, and beans were amazing, especially with a guarana (a Brazilian soda). For desert, the beijinhos or brigadeiros are amazing!

Overall, a very good experience! Me and my friend did the restaurant week brunch/lunch menu at Dell Rooster. The potatoes in papas braves appetizer was cooked perfectly and the spices and the sauce added a nice kick. However, the bacon wrapped dates were underwhelming; the recipe could use a little refinement.
The main highlight of the meal was my chicken and waffle entree — I’d gladly return to Dell Rooster for it again and to try the Coconut Shrimp, the picture of it looked delicious on the online menu. The short rib skillet was also delicious with the rib was cooked to perfect tenderness. The desserts were fairly standard, but the pana cotta had a hard jello like texture and could have been more creamier and custard-like.
The service was excellent, the attentive staff made the whole experience warm and welcoming.

Tried this restaurant with some friends for lunch and we all felt that the food was just okay. The warm stuffed dates were very sweet and an interesting mix. I personally didn’t mind it but my friend didn’t like it. The Jibarito was great portion wise and the short rib skillet was alright. I will add that the short rib pulled apart very easily and tasted nice but the rest of the dish did not add much to it. My friends really enjoyed the tres leches cake. Also, it took a long time to get each dish as well as the check, even as the place emptied out. Overall, the place is small and cozy and the food we ordered was average.

Guy Fieri definitely didn't go wrong coming here. We have been trying to come here a few times now but it is just a bit of a hike from River North with traffic and all. But it was worth the time.
We are no strangers to Puerto Rican food, and trust me when I say nothing tastes better outside of Puerto Rico, but at Omarcito, this is probably the closest you can get. Compare to the other Puerto Rican and Cuban joints in the area, the cost is definitely higher, and Omar doesn't take plastic. Cash, vemo, zelle only, so it is a bit inconvenient but the quality of the food is there.
The kitchen is basically a small shipping container in the center courtyard between the hair salon and a gym, so you can get your Puerto Rican fix after a hair cut and a work out. There is a DJ every Sunday, it was loud in there, maybe a bit too loud but you can't hear it from the streets. There is a small indoor dinning room in the courtyard as well, where you can see the signature DDD plaque.
The Ropa Vieja that I had was very flavorful and tender, I love the brininess and acidity coming from the olives, and the Lechon Jabarito was the perfect sandwich, the meat had the perfect fat and lean ratio, and it is grilled to add some crisp to it, perfect. We had the Guava Cheesecake and Cafe con Leche at the end, the cake was one of the best that I had, even counting the ones that I had in Miami and Puerto Rico. You can really taste the Guava.
Summer time would be great here, with all of that outdoor seating. Omar has a big personality, make sure you stop by and get to know him a little. 😆

My daughter and I drove specifically to this place for their empanadas! Wow, they bursted with flavor! To start, the place is absolutely beautiful. We came when the restaurant wasn’t busy but, my guess is that at certain times it’s packed. Jessica was our server and she was great. The food was seasoned well, they’re not afraid to use salt, garlic and all those wonderful spices that make the wonderful Puerto Rican dishes so exceptional and unique. My daughter even commented “the chef cooking definitely comes from the island”. Their arroz con gandules was so tasty, I had to take some to go. My only regret was not eating more! Good size empanadas, limited menu but DELICIOUS. Walked past the place several times, finally went in to order take out. Ordered one of each Pluma Pesto, Napolitana, Greek Tragedy and the Queso. Good sized portions. Should be eaten when they just had been cooked. Light flaky crisp dough with ample amount of filling. TASTY is all I can say. Had to have the Milhoja, crisp flaky puff past crust with a caramel filling. Perfect! Not too over bearing sweet. Small dining are inside but the have tables outside when weather permits.

We got the Fried Chicken Biscuit - so flavorful with the herbs in the biscuit and chorizo gravy (which was actually really smooth, not chunky). The chicken was really well prepared and crisp.
We also got the Bacon Egg N Cheese and it was simple but also so good! I’m a fan of anything with garlic aioli and this did not disappoint!
Everything else sounded and looked amazing too, so I’m sure you can’t go wrong with anything you order here.
They serve brunch before 2pm and start their dinner menu after that. Their pastry selection looked great too. Love Kouign Amanns - if you haven’t tried one, this could be the place you do!

Best burger I’ve had in memory. The beef and cheese were like a rocket, and the jam sent if flying. Garlic aioli with the fries, chipotle aioli with the beef empanada. Both were fantastic. If there was any fault to the meal, it’s that I didn’t order three empanadas from the three different varieties, all memorably priced at 3.33.

I would give this place 10 stars if I could! Everything was so good and had a unique take. And service was FAST! We came around 11:30 on a rainy Sunday and passed other places that were packed. This place wasn’t busy. We ordered, sat right down and food was ready crazy fast.
We got the French toast, chorizo gravy chicken biscuit, cafe au lait and Kouign-amann.
The French toast was everything you want it to be. Thick, soft, flavorful, delicious sauce and jam on top, and a lovely crunch around the exterior. The chorizo gravy was delicious and the biscuit was unlike any biscuit I’ve had before. So good.
The cafe au lait was sweet, which was a surprise, but absolutely delicious. Maybe ask for it unsweetened if you like yours without sugar.
Definitely get the Kouign-amann. It is EVERYTHING. and it’s not something you see everywhere. If you really want to appreciate this pastry, watch the Great British Baking Show episode where they try to make them. Lol.

Omg, these empanadas are to die for. I even went back for more the next day.
The first day I ordered six empanadas and a blue matcha lavender lemonade.
I loved all of it. In order, this is how I liked my sox empanadas the best:
Tinga, Ropa Viena, Margarita, Andean, sweet potato chili and Lumpia.
The next day I had four because six were a little too much. I had Tinga, Ropa Viena, Margarita and Corn.
These empanadas happen to be plant based which I like, but I swear they’ll be a hit with anyone.
On top of the delicious empanadas and lemonade, I also love how reusing the box gives you a free empanada when you bring the box back. And if you’re from out of town like me, they recycle the box after the end of its use.
The lady working behind the counter was fantastic, helpful, friendly, smiling, and just wonderful.
This is a must-try when you visit Chicago or if you live or work in the area.

Love the theme of this restaurant. Very trendy and lost of empanadas options. Everything is all vegan. The man that took my order seemed like the owner and was super friendly and knowledgeable. You can tell he was very passionate about his food. The only negative thing I will say that keeps me from giving 5 starts was that the empandas had a lot of excess dough on them that I may not be used to. Took a few bites to get to the actual contents inside them, but the fillings were very good. There are also so many different lemonade options to choose from. They weren't the sweetest but still tasty. The prices are also a bit high too. 3 empandas plus a drink was almost $20. Would come back to try more options from here.

So excited that fons has opened this Café concept. We needed this in West Loop. I tried the Pulled BBQ Bowl and it was phenomenal, the garlic sauce on top was the best touch ever. I also had the green smoothie and the Apple Cinnamon empanada, very good. Looking forward to being back soon. Kudos to the team.

I ordered the 12 pack of empanadas and they were amazing! It was so fun to try all the different flavors. Our favorite was the margarita, chorizo, and the corn pablano. And the garlic sauce was amazing. We did get one weird one, we think it was the lumpia, it tasted like licorice and wasn't our favorite. But I would definitely recommend this place! So yummy and so fun! I wish we had one of these in Minneapolis so we could eat them more often!
