The location is very nice for a function of almost any type. The maintenance men were present and extremely helpful for the several hours I was present. Every bathroom small smelled like poop. Most of them were stuffed with toilet paper and poop and tampons. The “changing stalls” are open. The condo tower is poorly managed, with a property manager (Jeff) whose entitled and disrespectful attitude makes residents feel like unwelcome guests rather than the people funding his salary. I can say hands down, this is the BEST apartment building I've lived in since I moved to Chicago. I would absolutely not be moving if it weren't for a change in my circumstances/needing to downsize. Not only do I love my unit, but whenever I've submitted a maintenance request, someone has come within hours, sometimes even MINUTES to complete the work order. They're quick, efficient, and I couldn't praise them more. The package room attendee is PHENOMENAL. I feel terrible for never asking her name, but she is so attentive, knows all of the residents and where their packages are, and is super friendly. I hope she's getting compensated well because she deserves it. The building is awesome about hosting events, such as happy hours, a casino night in the summer, and more. I wish I would have partaken in more of these during my time here. There's a great community here and everyone is super friendly and welcoming. The only gripes I've had are wishing that the dog park was a little cleaner (it's artificial turf, so waste piles up at times, and it's a bit smelly in the summer), sometimes you'll be waiting for awhile for an elevator, and if you live a floor or two above the fitness center, you can sometimes hear the basketball bouncing in the court. However, the building has taken note of all these things and have actively been trying to keep the park cleaner, and now enforce a strict closing time for the basketball court. Some of the bad reviews I've seen on this place have to be just extremely picky and particular individuals, because I have been super content here. Thank you GP for an awesome 14 months! The amenities are amazing, and the staff is excellent. From the door staff to the management team, you're not going to find a better group of people. They care very much about the residents and will go above and beyond to ensure you are accommodated. There is exceptional diversity within the community, and everyone is very friendly. The building and facilities are well maintained. Yes, you might hear a dog bark now and then because it is the most dog-friendly community in River North. The dog park, running track, gym and basketball court are very nice. The pool is resort quality and the among the best. The views are spectacular no matter what direction you face. You are within walking distance from virtually anywhere. Trust me when I say you will love making this place your home.

I have lived here for two years, the location is a plus (although there are constantly people outside the door that can make some guests uneasy) but the quality of the building for the money is just not there. For starters, my car has been vandalized twice in the parking structure, would not recommend putting a car here if you can help it. Second, the elevators are the slowest and most poorly maintained lifts i have seen in any apartment unit at this price point. Only one elevator in service for the past ~5 weeks makes wait times incredibly painful. As if that was not enough, the elevators are now completely shut down without notice leaving residents stuck in their apartments unable to make it to the ground floor. Yes... you read that right. As of this posting all elevators are inoperable and we did not receive a notice of this. Trapping all residents in their apartments until further notice (if we even get one). TBD how long this will last... frankly unacceptable at a building with this price point. The saving grace of this building are the staff. All A+ players and I will truly miss them, they make this place a great home if it were not for the poor management at a corporate level... not their fault.

Alexandria’s post described well on the physical and management side of this apartment. On physical, I do live in one of many units with slanted floor. I moved in from out of the state, so I relied on virtual tour and the information I was given by the management. Despite asking many questions including whether there is any additional information I need to be aware of before signing a lease, I was completely hidden from the fact that the floor is slanted by quite a large degree. It is slanted enough where a gym ball can’t stand still and we had to put something under one side of our TV stand to make it somewhat less slanted. I understand this can’t be fixed by the leasing office, but at least should disclose in honest manner so people don’t find out as they move their furnitures in. On management, people are generally nice and they host residence appreciation events pretty regularly which I appreciate. Yet, there is an on-going major renovation project across many of their units and this noise is driving me insane as there are just too many days where they perform the renovation not according to the renovation schedule they post by the elevator. So even if I plan accordingly to avoid this major construction noise, I just can’t seem to escape from it due to irregularity in their construction timing. Would’ve been much better if they just stick to the plan they posted on the elevators. All and all, I agree with many of the comments regarding the apartment. Great location, but physically challenged place.
