Loved the vibe walking in, it's quaint and cozy. The owner is right at the counter greeting everyone and chatting with customers and staff. We seated ourselves at a small table in the corner which turned out to be leaning on the broken floor tiles, causing the consomme from my order to spill out of the bowl and made eating a bit of a challenge so as to not cover myself in broth. We ordered our food off the provided menus and awaited our food. We were only given one set of utensils to work with and had to ask a couple of times for another set and some more napkins (see the note above about the table leaning). Everything came out fairly promptly and had wonderful flavor. Some of the meat was dried out though and seemed like it had been sitting out or was over cooked before being served. The consomme helped but the meat overall could have been better. Again, the flavor was fantastic though. The cabeza taco also had great flavor and the fresh tortillas are very good. The server kept bringing them out whenever we asked and refilling the warmer. After we left my friend remarked to be that he felt like the experience wasn't up to the usual standards but was still an enjoyable meal. I'll have no issues going back when back in the city.

I will not be going back again. The food is subpar at best. I was expecting a much better taste of Mexican. The canned corn was flavorless, the carne asada was a little burnt and overcooked, the barbacoa had no flavor and the chicken enchiladas in red mole sauce “looked” great but was not good at all. It’s obviously more expensive than any regular restaurant but it’s a nice try once kind of place. I had the Tetela which was yummy and definitely would recommend for a first timer. Where my heart broke were the tortillas. They serve you flour tortillas with the short rib and it was those fake flour tortillas that overpower the taste of everything. I do recommend the sangria! Music w/different genres and later in the night they dim the lights. Food service was very fast with no longer than 10 minutes after ordering for our food. I do wish they gave free chips and salsa ($9) like other Mexican restaurants in the area. The duck carnitas were so fatty and delicious way to end the savory part of the meal! With fresh tortillas on the side. Most fun part of the meal were the sweet empanadas which were full of peanut butter. We split them in half and poured the sauces inside to enjoy! Lovely experience, great, friendly owner, her brother really took care of us too! This practice is disgusting and part of the reason my review went to a 2 star. Print the receipt, hand it to the customer, and allow privacy for the transaction process. We had to wait over 25 minutes to be seated. Everyone waiter wants to attend to you and seated you in the table right by the door which I totally refused.
