We went to Tei-An for their pre-theatre omakase before heading to a concert. We were immediately taken to seats at the bar, as it better accommodated my spouse’s wheel chair. The staff are amazing, in particular Mike, who took very good care of us. Cocktails were delicious, I had the Yuzu Margarita while my wife had the Lychii Martini. The food was very good, with a great variety of different dishes, both hot and cold. I highly recommend Tei-An and we will be going back soon!

Wow, just wow. Everything was superb! The atmosphere is very elevated and serene without being too pretentious. The food is amazing - I highly recommend their soba dishes and their nigiri.
David was my server and he was fantastic. His level of professionalism was tailored to each individual and he was perfect at spacing out my a la carte dishes with course
-meal like timing. He kept refilling my water as needed, clearing plates only when necessary, and having the perfect amount of presence during the meal.
The hostess was courteous and opened the door for me as I was leaving, which is a small gesture but really elevated the experience.
The price is fair for the quality and level of service that you'll receive here. I am totally blown away by how wonderful of an experience I had here.
As fellow industry though, I do have a few points that I noticed that could use some improvement. When asked about water, still or sparkling was only offered, both being paid purchases without the transparency. While the clientele is a more upscale crowd, it may be understandable, but having a non-paid option for water may be more respectful towards guests in my opinion. The cloth napkin was also cleared at the end during the dessert course which could have been left alone or even replaced.
Otherwise, the entire meal was fabulous, and I will most definitely recommend and send people here without hesitation!! Thank you team for the wonderful experience.

A splendid evening with Omar and his team, who went above and beyond for my first experience at Tei-An. Each course was presented with a description of historical relevance and customs in the Japanese culture. Dietary restrictions were followed with even an accommodation to one of the courses I had ordered! Friendly, courteous and attentive staff made the experience unforgettable till my departure. My husband and I celebrated my birthday at Tei-An last night, it was such an amazing experience. We decided to do the 7-course “Classic Omakase” ($145) and I was initially worried that we wouldn’t be full in the end, but I was definitely wrong about that. We normally celebrate at places with the typical omakase in which it involves sashimi, nigiri, and sometimes an app/soup so we didn’t really know what to expect with this kind of omakase. We added on the toro, uni, freshly grated & pickled stem wasabi to our meal and it was a must get! Our drink of choice was a bottle of cold “Yuzu Omoi” sake and it was smooth & refreshing. After every course I was blown away by the quality and creativity of each course. I kept repeating “how can it get better each time?!”, we have already talked about coming back in the future since our experience was so amazing!

Tei-An is a nice spot for a date night offering a quaint but classy experience. During our visit we opted for the classic omakase. This offered 7 courses including sashimi, tempura, A5 Wagyu, their signature soba, and a few other bites along the way. Overall it was an enjoyable evening but was slightly disappointed in their signature dish. We had a crab dashi hot soba and a brisket curry soba. While the curry had a nice flavor the brisket was over cooked and tough and in the other soba the crab dashi was rather flavorless. Also to note while interior is nice the entrance isn't very welcoming

Came here cause I was craving authentic soba and Tei-an didn’t disappoint. Homemade soba noodles with a variety of dipping sauces, all of which were worth trying. The tempura side that came with it was excellent - prawns in a batter of potato chips, and sliced corn edges in a traditional batter. The cocktails were all very good and their selection of sakes quite impressive.

Good service, clean bathrooms, quality food.
We happened to come on a Friday. Ight, which happens to be AYCE. We tried most on that menu, but my favorite was the beef belly and pork belly. The short rib, hanger, and miso skirt weren't far behind. I don't care much for the New York. The veggies on that menu were also all good. The karaage was lightly breaded, which was awesome - most other places tend to have too much breading.
Other than the AYCE menu, we tried takoyaki, beef tongue, F1 wagyu short rib. The beef tongue was great, but the F1 wagyu short rib just melts in your mouth. We were stuffed at this point, but we plan to try the pork jowl during our next visit.
The matcha lemonade was also good, just a tad too sweet.
Parking was right next door. $19 for 2 hours, or $25 for 9 hours on a Friday night.
Joey was our server and was great.

The food was great. The service was friendly and simple. What you would expect of a restaurant like this. A bit hot inside. The sides/veggies could be more authentic (like in Korea or Japan) so that they’re easier to grill. If you’re used to AYCE KBBQ, this is slightly different. This isn’t Korean and isn’t all you can eat. Still worth a visit!
Here’s what we got:
- Chicken Karage not very crispy. The cooled peppers with it were very good though.
- Potatoes were hearty
- Beef belly: flavorful. Appreciated timing Recs attached to the meats
- Miso skirt with ponzu sauce, amazing! By far the best *
- Filet was just as good as the skirt. Maybe better. Absolutely melted in your mouth. We cooked it 1.5mim on each side. Maybe even 1.25 min. Also had this with ponzu sauce, which made this superior. *
- coffee jelly dessert. Coffee was definitely overpowering near the end. Would recommend if you’re a coffee lover.
Service was slow, but server was great.

If you’re in Dallas, don’t walk, don’t even run, just teleport to this amazing restaurant. We were in town for a concert and randomly googled restaurants near us and Niwa looked interesting so we went not knowing it would change our lives. I’m not even a beef person, but Niwa showed me how deliciously flavorful and melt in your mouth beef can be. The chicken and side dishes were delicious as well. They kept bringing things out for us to try and we said yes to everything because we were having an EXPERIENCE. At the end when we could not eat another bite, they brought us the panna cotta with berries in a yuzu/strawberry coulis and we scarfed that down in about 20 seconds and had no regrets!

Upon entry, the host and servers were very kind. We had a reservation and were seated immediately.
It was our first time here and we wanted to try a variety of meats so we tried their variety platter that they have. The experience was great but the meat was alright. The matcha cocktail we ordered was amazing, however there was nothing too outstanding for us to come back to.

We found this Nobu to be just as good as other locations we’ve been to around the country. From the service to the food, everything was top notch. Our usual dishes were great and we tried two new items at this location. One we loved, beef tenderloin yakimono teriyaki, and then the short ribs tacos which were unfortunately too spicy for our liking. Highly recommend the banana pudding for dessert!

I am not impressed! Forget the price for a second, there’s good sushi at lower price points too. But the sushi here was avg nothing special and nothing that I’ll remember. For those that rave about the sushi here I have to seriously wonder if they’ve dined at other sushi restaurants. Dallas is landlocked so if Dallas sushi is all you know then maybe this is high quality sushi but if you’re from either Coasts (NYC, San Fran or Seattle) then you’ll find the sushi here avg.
I was also disappointed with the spread, there’s only 8 or 9 different sushi options and they’ll just constantly refill that. No need dishes to be brought out as time passes. The dessert spread was also minimal. I expect better for a brunch that’s $75 per person.
The service was attentive but we felt rushed. They gave us our bill without us asking and then came back 10 mins later saying let us take care of the bill for you. I thought my reservation was good for 2hrs? I was only 50 min into my reservation. It wasn’t even crowded that they need to rush us.

After having tried both Uchiko and Uchibā (Uchi sister restaurants) in Austin, we had to try Uchi in Dallas. It did not disappoint. We had the “somakase” which is a cool little option they have if you want to try multiple things but are worried that the chef’s tasting may be too little or too much food but also don’t really want to make decisions. Essentially the way it works is that your server will choose dishes for you based on your hunger level, budget, and preferences. You can do as many or as few as you’d like and if there is something you really like you can just ask for more of it. The service at the Uchi restaurants is always top notch and we love how everyone works together as one cohesive unit marking the service appear seamless from the delivery of the dishes to the clearing of plates and ensuring your beverages are always full. The food is timed perfectly so that the wait between courses is neither too long or too short. Empty plates are taken immediately after you have finished so that they are not sitting on the table for long periods of time. Service is smooth, efficient, and friendly and never seems cold or rushed. The food makes this one of our favorite restaurants to dine in as we always thoroughly enjoy our meals here. The food is based in Japanese cuisine with interesting twists and flavor combinations. Overall an excellent experience.

We’ve always loved go to Uchi to celebrate special occasions, such as birthdays and anniversaries, and even just to treat ourselves on a regular day. Naturally, we chose to dine here for my birthday, but unfortunately, this visit was very disappointing.
To start, my husband wasn’t provided chopsticks or a dinner napkin when we were seated. He had to ask, and even then, our server only brought chopsticks and forgot the napkin entirely. He went through the entire meal without one. The service felt inattentive and slower than usual.
As for the food, we ordered around eight or nine dishes, and while none were terrible, they did not meet the high standards we’ve come to expect from Uchi. It was also surprising that at 7pm, some dishes were already unavailable.
Overall, it was a disappointing experience for a restaurant we’ve long considered one of our favorites. We’re hoping this was just an off night, as we’ve always loved Uchi in the past…

I love Uchi and go a couple times a year since it’s close to home and always a reliable choice. The construction around it has been going on forever, so the area’s kind of a mess, but the food makes up for it. They keep a pretty high standard and most of what I’ve had is great.
We did the omakase once and it was definitely creative, but a little too out there for me. One of the dishes was literally called “pond water,” which was a bit much. I’d rather do omakase at Shoyo or Tatsu.

We came to celebrate our anniversary and as always, Uchi delivered an amazing experience and a memorable night. Our server Lalo was energetic and very nice, and very accommodating to our shellfish allergy and ensured that every dish brought out was prompted with a shellfish free mention.

The entry through the rectangular portal down the stone path and into the restaurant where you’re immediately greeted with the team grilling up fish and vegetables is a great start to your dinner. Visiting Dallas and decided to stop by this restaurant 2 nights. It was yummy! We compared the premium versus the ultimate and honestly, the premium is the winner. We went to celebrate my wife's birthday. Everything was great and the staff was super friendly. My wife has an egg allergy so we asked them to take eggs out and the salad dressing had eggs. The server (who seemed new) and manager apologized and they gave us free items.
The food was good. We picked the chefs choice option but if you are a big eater then the AYCE is will worth it, the quality of the meat is good and they also have other dishes.
I would recommend Gyu-Kaku in general but this locations services was expectational.

This is one of my favorite Japanese bbq restaurant in the Dallas area. Clean restaurant and kind staff. Always order the gyu combo with the umakara sauce and sometimes the fried cheese wontons. I was surprised to find out that it was an actual buffet and I could serve myself. I was very impressed with the quality of the sashimi and had a fair amount. You are allowed to take 4 pieces of each kind each time you come up to the buffet. I also enjoyed their fresh vegetable tempura. My absolute favourite was their baked mussels which tasted like a motoyaki sauce. So tasty ! They also had large fresh oysters on the half shell, salads, several kinds of meat dishes and ramen in the AYCE. To finish there were several nice desserts to choose from including ice cream. Tonight was a special night for my wife and me, our 7th anniversary. We couldn’t find a babysitter, so our three kids (all five and under) came with us. Not exactly how you picture an anniversary dinner, but we made the best of it.
We originally tried one of our favorite sushi spots, but they were fully booked, so we wandered around and landed on Kona Grill. Honestly, I was hesitant at first, it’s inside the mall, and I haven’t had the best experiences with mall restaurants. But wow, were we pleasantly surprised.
From the moment we walked in, the front staff was warm and welcoming. We were seated outside with plenty of space, which was perfect for our family. Then we met our server, Anthony. Let me just say; he’s one of the best waiters we’ve ever had. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely kind. He went out of his way to make us feel comfortable, even with three little kids in tow.
He smiled and waved at the kids, brought a special rag for our one-year-old who was making a mess (half wet, half dry - genius), and never once made us feel like an inconvenience. He even honored happy hour pricing even though we arrived right at the cutoff. As someone who’s been a server myself, I know how stressful it can be to wait on families with small kids but Anthony was patient, quick, and kept the whole experience positive. If you go, definitely ask for him. He’s a star.
As for the food: excellent. We ordered a variety: sushi rolls, shrimp platter, chicken dish, egg rolls, and the kids got little bento boxes with sushi, mac & cheese, and chicken. Everything tasted fresh and high-quality. Even the kids’ meals felt thoughtfully prepared. We left with plenty of leftovers, and the bill was around $150 (thanks to happy hour), which felt like a steal for the amount and quality of food we got.
The restaurant itself has a great vibe, casual but nice enough for a date night, with prices that feel fair for the quality.
And the cherry on top? After dinner, we walked through the mall courtyard where the kids played on the pumpkin displays and maze. It turned what could have been a stressful anniversary dinner with kids into a night we’ll always remember.
We found a new go-to spot, and we’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend Kona Grill and if you can, try to catch Anthony on a Wednesday through Saturday.

A hidden gem for sure, I've lived in Dallas all my life and was amazed I have never dined at this beautiful place.
The lighting, decor and music, all add a great experience with friends, my only issue was how close all the tables are. Gives a bit of tension between tables, but still the ambience is beautiful.
KC was spectacular! He was humorous, well versed in the menu, the manager was very attentive and we had the pleasure of having one of the assistant servers bring us a soy Chile sauce, which was delicious with any sushi roll!
Four of us dined and had a great spread, but the main dish, the Chile and Tempura whole Red Snapper is a must! The noodles and sauces served, are enough for us to dine, even if you only have that for your dinner you'll be extremely impressed.
Definitely recommend for client dinners, a lovely anniversary or just a great date night!

I really enjoyed eating here the other day. I wanted to try so many dishes! The server was so friendly and helped me with dinner recommendations. The purple rain roll and green goddess roll were delicious. The tuna with crispy rice was good as well but not made to be a sushi roll so just keep that in mind. The reason for my 4 star review and not a five is I find the restroom experience disgusting. I had dinner at the bar a few Saturdays ago and I found the all gender restroom dirty and completely unsanitary with the toilet seat up assuming a man was using it beforehand and urine collected around the floor of the toilet. Went here for my son's graduation dinner last night. Quite noisy because of the loud piped-in music and everyone having to raise their voices in order to hear each other, and to order food. Dark ambience which makes the menu difficult to read. They were packed and quite busy being a Saturday. The server took a while to get our orders. Regular sized portions. Don’t let the facade fool you, this place is a hidden gem. My husband and I have been enjoying Sushi Robata for over a decade. We now live out of town but still make the drive to celebrate special occasions.
We have truly enjoyed everything we’ve ever ordered and the service is almost always fantastic. Our favorite server is TK (and the roll named after her is amazing!)
Definitely make a reservation on weekends, as it gets really busy. Even with a reservation you might have a bit of a wait, which has never bothered us, it makes me happy when small restaurants are busy. :) If they offer you a sushi bar seat, say yes, the sushi chefs are so kind.

I visited Sushi Robata for dinner tonight, and the experience was quite disappointing. From the moment we arrived, everything felt disorganized. We waited a long time to be seated, it seemed like the manager assumed there wouldn’t be many customers after 7:30 PM. Chicken thigh Yakitori (Momo) is under cooked in the middle, when I asked we were told it’s usually served medium, I mean it’s probably just a lack of knowledge on my part but I’ve never had chicken yakitori served less than fully cooked even in Japan, unless it specifically says Chicken Sashimi. The other skewers are fine.

Spent $300+ for a party of two just trying sips, rolls and some bites for a birthday celebration. The Lychee sangria was delicious. We had a Japanese whiskey as well, I wish I remembered the name it was to die for. 24k gold sushi roll met the hype. We got lucky walked right in and a table was available for our party of 4. We took off our shoes and got seated right away. The service and food were amazing. Very authentic food. You won't find any better izakayas in Dallas or San Diego. So far all of my Japanese friends agreed to my statement. I go to San Diego and Japan every month and go to a lot of different izakayas all over but this place could be better than some of the ones in Japan and I'm not exaggerating!

Everything comes out hot and fresh, and it's all cooked right. No more, no less. There's nifty appetizers, such as the unagi tamago and seasoned raw octopus. But, even the classic dishes like the chicken karage, shishito pepper, and ramen are knocked out of the park. All of the dishes taste exactly as good as you would imagine them in your head before ordering.
And, the unbelievable cherry on top is that the food is very affordable for the quality that you get. The highlight is the ramen coming in at a reasonable $12.
The tonkotsu ramen itself has all the classic toppings; jammy boiled egg, woodear mushrooms, bamboo shoots, and chashu. It comes with buttery slender thin round noodles, like an exquisite angel hair pasta. However, the best part is the rich salty broth that manages to balance the richness with other lovely flavors in order to offer multiple dimensions of flavor. It's rich, yet garlicky and a satisfying creamy. It's one of the best ramen bowls in DFW, but somehow only $12.

We stopped in for lunch after finding this place on Google. The place is very vibrant and decorated nicely with graffiti artwork from the movie. The food options were nicely displayed with descriptions on the order line wall. The customer service was great, and the food all came out hot and quick. We ordered two steak and shrimp options and the shrimp and mushroom appetizers. The steak was cooked perfectly. Everything tasted ok there, but it was ten times better later that evening cold! I wasn't too impressed initially, but later that evening, we both remarked at how good it tasted! It's worth a try if you happen to be in the area, but I wouldn't go out of the way for it. On Friday 11/21, we hosted a large karaoke party here. The food was mid at best — the appetizers tasted like buffet-quality items.
I left behind a gifted bottle. I understand establishments aren’t technically responsible for patrons’ belongings, but when something goes missing, it still reflects on leadership. I called to ask about it, and Nicolas, the manager, answered. When I asked about my bottle, I heard what sounded like a snicker before he hung up on me.
I immediately called back. Nicolas answered again with no apology. When I repeated my question, I heard that same muffled-laughter sound, like someone covering the phone. Very suspicious. He went to check and came back saying the last people in the room were the cleaners. To me, that basically admits that someone on staff likely took it.
As leadership, Nicolas, it’s your responsibility to get answers, take accountability, and have a system in place for items left behind. Taking things that don’t belong to patrons should NOT be normalized.
I won’t be returning. Several friends had been considering celebrating their birthdays here — we were willing to overlook the mid food just for karaoke — but that won’t be happening now.
There’s a far better karaoke spot in Carrollton. This place is absolute trash.

Some sushi arrived out with tinfoil wrap (this is dine in) and the hibachi portions were much smaller than other places for the same price. There were no servers available that day, surprisingly since it was a holiday. One of the hostess had to serve our table and we’ll credit to her for attempting to serve us outside of her main job responsibilities. There was a lot of bickering between staff in front of customers - right in front of tables. The dinner here itself was awkward and uncomfortable due to the tension between staff communication and this impacted our service. Took a long time getting our server’s (also hostess) attention and follow up on simple items such as getting silverware/water for the table.

I had sushi in Texas, ya'll...and was pleasantly surprised! Being from LA and having traveled to Japan many times, I was stupefied by the quality of ingredients and the preparation. The fish was fresh and aged properly, the sushi rice was seasoned perfectly, and the nori was served while still crisp.
I opted for their nigiri omakase, which wasn't necessarily value-priced comparative to LA or NY, but came with 12 nigiri courses (menu changes, as needed). All were sauced well and served in a timely manner. More than that, the service was excellent from start to finish - from reservations to food and beverage service. We tried the flights of sake and although it was a good experience, I settled on a glass of wine.
We both ordered the lunch omakase and it’s the perfect size and flow. I really enjoyed the katsuo sashimi and the miso soup (it wasn’t overly salty). The nigiri was extremely fresh and tasty - my faves were the chuturo and aki jake! We ordered additional nigiri - 2 unagi and 1 chuturo and 1 sake - my friend received her 2 unagi but unfortunately the sushi chef just gave me an unagi and chuturo - very unfortunate. We ended the meal with a matcha tiramisu and it was divine!
Amazing spot with fresh sushi and attentive waitstaff. Just be sure to check the hours when booking so the experience with the sushi chef will go smooth!

The customer service was on point. The staff were kind, patient, and really helpful, especially since I wasn’t exactly sure what I wanted to eat. As a first-time guest, they even offered me a free drink, which was such a thoughtful gesture and made me feel truly welcomed.

Stumbled upon this place as I battled getting Chick-Fil-A and in my efforts to do better, F&F Grill won. The placed was pretty packed when I went in which is a good sign, but as soon as I went to the counter, everything went downhill.
It's definitely a place that is used to their customers knowing what they want and there is no excitement when taking orders. I was greeted with "what can I get for you?" and of course I didn't know. Fast forward, I ordered and everything came to me wrong; veggies weren't included or cooked soft as I requested, and the steak was well (ugh) and not cooked (at least) medium as I requested. I wasn't given a choice for sauce and was provided with their top two--which is my assumption, and the plate was loaded with 8 pounds of rice. I ordered a lemonade and told the lady the fountain drink was out, and instead of fixing it or passing it on to someone else who could, she went on break.
Price wise (I got the steak and chicken meal) it was alright, but a little steep and of course in my head I thought, 'I could've cooked this at the house.'
I had plenty of leftovers and it wasn't terrible-terrible, but I won't run back.

I’ve been coming to this place for a while and it’s always been great, until today. I stopped by on Monday August 4th around 4:30 PM and noticed a different crew working since the usual staff was on their lunch break (unlucky timing for me).
Right away, things felt off. I ordered chicken hibachi with white rice and veggies, but the person taking my order seemed confused. I had to repeat it, and even then, he asked if I wanted fried rice, even though I had already said “white rice” twice. Then at checkout, the cashier rang me up for a kids' hibachi meal, which costs less. I could’ve just paid for it and said nothing, but that’s not me, I told her I ordered a regular meal.
At that point, I was already a little concerned about how the food would turn out… and unfortunately, it just wasn’t the same. The chicken was dry and didn’t have that rich, caramelized flavor I’m used to. It honestly tasted off.
Next time, I’ll definitely check who’s working before I order. The usual team never misses!

I got to try out this FY for the first time yesterday while visiting from Houston and I was really blown away not only for their great service (especially the young Korean server) but for their amazingly delicious food. My friend is a regular customer here so he also gets all the chef’s specials specifically made so I got to try a variety of everything and they were the best Japanese food I have ever tasted. The sushi, the noodle soup, appetizers, even the dessert was very tasty. I’m a big fan of Japanese food esp. sushi so I’ve been to many different restaurants but so far this place is the best one by far. The sushi chef is very friendly and makes you feel at home as well. Okay finally I thought of reviewing my favorite restaurant. I should have done it few years ago though, I am regular at this restaurant for last few years. This is my sushi fix for every other week.
Never had a complaint about the food quality of sushi or sashimi. I may have tried a lot of things on the menu here, few of my favorite has been sushi and sashimi, rainbow roll, shrimp shumai, Creamy shrimp is another one that my son loves here.
A small but cozy place for your sushi cravings, service has always been good. The chef is a gold star and his love for serving great food is second to none.
Lunch special is best bang for buck where you can get pre fix menu or buy 1 get 1 on sushi and leave happy with your choices.
The house saki is great and they have Sapporo draft.
Can’t stay away from this place …… feel so happy to have found this place.

I especially enjoy their riceless rolls. I’ve been here twice and loved everything I’ve ordered so far. The owner, waiter, and waitresses are so friendly and welcoming.
Recently I went to Kyodai after seeing many good reviews but honestly if you’re considering I recommend you Fujiyama instead. You can actually get full without having to spend a ridiculous amount of money and the service is much better here.

Our sushi chef was friendly, informative and accommodating. Came for lunch. Pretty pricey for lunch, like a lot of sushi places. I did notice that the price is higher than stated on the online menu. I got the Sushi B which was around $21. I did get 9 pieces of sushi, spicy salmon roll, miso soup, and a salad. I also ordered the Marinated Salmon from the appetizer section. It was around $16. Visiting Dallas, we decided to mix things up a bit and try something different. We heard about this cozy Ramen Lounge not far from where we were staying.
It’s located just a couple of streets off the busy main road, with a frontage that’s a bit more understated compared to other businesses in the area. But the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a clean, modern Asian-inspired interior that felt warm and inviting. We were welcomed right away with friendly smiles and seated immediately.
I started with a house sake while we looked over the menu—it had a really nice flavor and set the tone for the meal.
For starters, we went with the Edamame sprinkled with sea salt—perfectly prepared, crisp, and served warm.
Next up were the Ichigoh Buns. The buns were soft and fluffy, and the pork was perfectly seasoned—melting in your mouth with every bite.
We also ordered the Karaage (Japanese fried chicken), which was cooked to perfection—crispy, not oily, and served with lemon and creamy Kewpie mayo. Absolutely delicious.
For our main dish, we chose the Spicy Tare Tsukemen, which was the monthly special—and it was outstanding. Rich, flavorful, and with just the right level of spice.
One of the highlights of the evening was the owner herself, who was present, hands-on, and genuinely enjoying the atmosphere alongside her guests. It’s clear they take pride in every little detail here.
I asked the owner to recommend another sake that would pair well with my spicy ramen, and she absolutely nailed it—choosing a sake from Northern Japan that complemented the dish beautifully.
Having just returned from Japan, I can honestly say it’s rare to find a ramen spot outside of Japan that pays this much attention to detail, with such a refined yet relaxed atmosphere and a team that’s genuinely passionate about what they do.
The fact that they deliver all of this at such an affordable price is truly impressive.
If you’re in the area, this place should absolutely be on your must-visit list. And when I’m back in Dallas, it will definitely be at the top of mine.

I have zero complaints and there are not enough words to describe our experience. The chicken was marinated and cooked amazingly. My friend got pork belly on her spicy miso and it was a 20/10. One of the first times the pork belly wasnt served grisly or super fatty. You could tell they put care and quality into their food! Came here to give it a first try. I wasn't pleased. Thats not to say their food isn't good. There was definitely a good flavor. But the dish i got was not worth it for the price. I got the lobster roll - cooked. It's 60% rice, 30% lettuce, 5% other fillings, 5% lobster. The lettuce just over took the flavor completely. It also has a lobster tail with it. But it's empty. It's purely for display. From what I did taste, i would assume their normal sushi is great. I'll be back to try those. But for the lobster roll. I don't recommend it. It's a waste of $26. Expensive! We tried the cooked lobster roll, thinking since it was $25 and came with the lobster tail it would be filling. We were wrong. It was mainly lettuce and you get an empty lobster tail. All I could taste was the lettuce and it wasn't comparable in portion to a full roll. I wouldn't have paid ten dollars for this. We paid $76 for our meal in total and we got two lobster rolls, a salmon sashimi, and two drinks. The rose tea was good but also pricey. We really enjoyed our lunch at Oki Japanese grill! The menu and signs, all over the place, are a little overwhelming, especially since it all looks delicious! It took us a few minutes to figure out exactly how/what to order, but that's also because they have so many choices.
The main choices that you have for your meal are; a sushi roll, hibachi or teriyaki, or a noodle bowl. Plus, they have a HUGE selection of sushi including some special ones that you will only find at their restaurant.
We each had a hibachi bowl, one with shrimp and one with beef, both with fried rice. We also shared a sushi roll which was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the sunshine roll. Everything else looks so delicious, we will definitely be back. We did notice that they had a 2 for $10 lunch special. But we didn't take advantage of that because we wanted to try some of the bigger dishes.
The restaurant is super clean inside. It probably has enough places for about 20 to 30 people to sit. Anything you order from here would be definitely good for takeout or delivery. The staff was super friendly and asked us several times if they could help us navigate the menu and the choices because it was a bit overwhelming. I'm really excited about the selection of food they have here. It would probably take us 15 visits to even get through the top item on our "need to try" list.

Came with a friend for lunch and we were seated immediately. Our server was attentive and provided great customer service!
We were brought the clear soup and salad w/dressing and I enjoyed both - the soup was piping hot and the dressing was delicious on the salad! We ordered sushi - Philadelphia Roll and Geisha Roll. I thoroughly enjoyed the Geisha Roll and would definitely recommend it!
I settled on the shrimp hibachi and that came with the veggies and fried rice. The shrimp was cooked nicely and I enjoyed the rice as it wasn’t overly coated with soy sauce. My only complaint was the veggie was pretty much charred - and the veggies are my favorite part!
Overall, we enjoyed our meal and would recommend the spot but less char on the veggies!

Kaze Sushi was a great experience as we had the private back room with 4 chefs to cater to our friend group. While the prep time was quite long the food tasted good and everyone had a great time with the chef interactions with food. The portions were also great and everyone was full. I made a reservation for 10 on November 7th for my husband’s birthday. We ordered our food and drinks and while we were sitting talking a rat ran across the floor. I got up and let the waiter know and that we were leaving. We asked for the manager who never came. We paid for our drinks and left. Every dish was cooked to perfection.
It’s on the pricier side, even more expensive than most sushi omakases in Dallas, but the experience was beyond our expectations. I’m currently pregnant, and they were able to switch out the raw dishes for me to cooked alternatives with prior notice when I made the reservation. Chef Otaka steamed the uni in the dishes that he used uni, and he cooked my yakitori skewers a little longer. We really appreciate the attention to detail.
The Korean couple next to us told Chef Otaka they went to Japan recently and got a reservation at a highly sought after yakitori restaurant there, but they thought Mābo’s yakitori was better. Every bite they took, they would say how delicious it was in Korean.
What’s unfortunate, though, is that the 8:30 PM seating was only half full, which was surprising given that the restaurant accommodates just eight guests. Maybe Dallas isn’t ready for yakitori omakase yet, but we felt like we were in Japan. We loved it!

I was beyond excited to get a table here and couldn't wait to experience this award winning restaurant and chef, unfortunately things fell short. More than half of the menu was made up of chicken and not what we expected. The sushi was absolutely stunning and I wish there was more if it. This is one of the best Yakitori restaurants in the country... And we have been to Torien, Torishen, and our personal NYC favorite, Kono.

As someone who travels to Japan frequently and has experienced everything from local restaurants to Michelin 1, 2, and 3-star dining, I can confidently say that today’s yakitori omakase was truly unique. Each dish was exceptional, showcasing both technique and flavor. The waitress provided impeccable service, attentive and warm throughout the entire meal.
It was such a pleasure to find such high-quality yakitori right here in Dallas. I look forward to returning and trying a different menu next time.

Am extraordinary evening. Just 2 of us at the chef's counter. Wonderful to watch the master at work. Very calm experience. Some of the food items were very unusual. I liked everything. It was a week night and I was driving, so I didn't try any of the really interesting alcohol options.
The only slightly disquieting thing was that it appeared to be closed when I arrived on the dot of 830. So we had to stand and wonder for a few minutes. All was well, however and a delightful time was had.
