Bangkok

Bangkok, Thailand’s capital, is a large city known for ornate shrines and vibrant street life. The boat-filled Chao Phraya River feeds its network of canals, flowing past the Rattanakosin royal district, home to opulent Grand Palace and its sacred Wat Phra Kaew Temple. Nearby is Wat Pho Temple with an enormous reclining Buddha and, on the opposite shore, Wat Arun Temple with its steep steps and Khmer-style spire.

Flea & Street Markets
Chatuchak Weekend Market, also known as JJ Market, is a massive market in northern Bangkok with over 15,000 stalls offering a diverse range of goods. Originally a flea market started in the 1950s, it has now become the largest market in Thailand. The market sells everything from clothing to pets, antiques, plants, amulets, and food and drink.
Chatuchak Weekend Market in Bangkok is a must-visit spot for anyone who loves shopping, food, and local culture. The market is massive, with thousands of stalls selling a wide variety of products — from trendy fashion and handmade crafts to unique and vintage items you won’t find anywhere else. It’s a paradise for fashion lovers and collectors alike. The lively atmosphere, friendly vendors, and endless choices make it an exciting place to explore. Prices are usually reasonable, and bargaining is part of the fun. You can also enjoy a great selection of Thai street food and refreshing drinks as you walk around. Since it can get crowded and hot, visiting early in the morning is a good idea. Overall, Chatuchak offers a vibrant and memorable shopping experience full of charm and creativity.

The Chatuchak Market is the largest open-air market in Bangkok, so prepare for a lot of walking. The location is accessible by train, making it fairly easy to get there. There is no fee to get in and the market has different areas dedicated to specific items such as art or clothing. Scattered throughout are food stalls and other shops. I spent 4 hours here and was able to get through most of the market.

Chatuchak Weekend Market is an absolute must-visit in Bangkok! 🛍️ From trendy clothes and handmade crafts to delicious Thai street food, you can find almost everything here. The market is huge — make sure to wear comfy shoes and stay hydrated! 💦 The vibe is lively, the locals are friendly, and every corner is full of surprises. A perfect spot to shop, eat, and soak up the Bangkok atmosphere. 😍

I have been to Chatuchak Market many times over the years and every time I go I find something new or a section I haven't visited before. It's a very very big market and definitely worth a visit. They sell everything from clothes to kitchen wear, Hilltribe arts and crafts to furniture and antiques. There is so much more too this place but if you are looking for presents to take home or a great experience in Bangkok then it is a great option. Oh and there are lots of places to eat and drink as well. Just a two minute walk from the BTS station Mo Chit and the MRT station Suan Chatuchak.
Andy S — Google review
This market mostly is of antiques or thrift clothing items. Although there was many cool items personally a lot of the price points were similar to that a vintage markets back home in Canada. They were curated, but for me things were more expensive than I was willing to spend. Definitely worth checking out though. Bring a snack as there’s a lot of floors and you will be in there for hours.

Chatuchak Weekend Market is an unmissable experience for anyone visiting Bangkok. Open only on weekends, this massive market is a true maze where you’ll happily get lost among thousands of stalls. Here you can find everything: traditional Thai clothing, all the most famous brands in surprisingly convincing “fake” versions, unique antiques, and an endless selection of incredibly cheap street food. One thing to remember: haggling is essential. Whatever you want to buy, negotiate—the price will drop dramatically, and it’s all part of the fun. The market is always very crowded, lively, and full of energy, making it a vibrant glimpse into local culture. Whether you’re shopping, tasting local bites, or simply enjoying the atmosphere, Chatuchak is definitely an experience you shouldn’t miss.
Davide L — Google review
Shopping paradise and cultural experience! Chatuchak Weekend Market is massive and full of energy! From clothes, accessories, and souvenirs to unique home decor and street food, there’s something for everyone. The market is vibrant, colorful, and perfect for exploring local culture. Don’t forget to try some of the delicious Thai snacks while you shop. Bring comfy shoes and plenty of time — you’ll want to see it all! A must-visit for anyone in Bangkok.

Huge and amazing. Everything you could ever want is here. Trinkets, souvenirs, shoes, clothes, wallets, scarves, jerseys, household goods, bags and more. It is a barter situation so start lower than what they have marked, the more you get the better discount you'll get. Lots of delicious food stalls as well. It's absolutely huge so plan on spending some time here, many duplicate vendors but also many unique.

Buddhist temple
Sights & Landmarks
Sacred & Religious Sites
Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchawaramahawihan, also known as the Temple of Dawn, is a grand Buddhist temple situated on the west side of the Chaophraya River in Thonburi, Bangkok. Its iconic central spire is adorned with intricate tiles and stands out with its colorful and detailed design. The temple's history dates back to King Taksin's restoration in 1768, giving it a significant place in Thai heritage.
Came here by boat, which stops directly by the Temple. International tourists pay a small entrance fee of 200 thb, while national visitors won't have to (fair enough - I paid and my wife went in for free). Wat Arun is the "Temple of Dawn" and is a Buddhist temple. The main prang was completed in 1851, after nine years of continued construction. The main feature of Wat Arun is its central prang, a typical leap tower in ancient Khmer, which is encrusted with colourful porcelain. You can see the temple from far away, especially from the boat. You can walk around freely and even climb the stairs (to some part). There are so many details to find and to explore. Really a stunning piece of both history and architecture. You can also rent out some traditional clothes if you want to take some special photos. Some shops selling souvenirs, clothes, arts and crafts are on the grounds as well. Also free toilets. Surely one of the great things to check out when in Bangkok.
Alex H — Google review
This is Bangkok's most important landmark 🇹🇭. After visiting the Grand Palace, don't miss this temple, which is featured on the Thai 10-baht coin. I was so happy to wear traditional Thai clothing. The interior is beautiful, and the pagoda is huge. Everyone comes here to take photos in traditional Thai clothing. You can rent traditional Thai clothing at many shops behind the temple, with prices ranging from 100 to 500 baht. Admission is free for Thais and about 100 baht for foreigners. Open time from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. If you've already visited the Grand Palace or Wat Pho, you can take a ferry across the river to this temple.

The Temple of the Sunset is a must-visit. It’s very beautiful and worth exploring to learn about its history. Originally, it was the first thing ships would see in the distance to know they had arrived in Bangkok. If you have time, go to the opposite riverbank and watch it light up at sunset—it’s a stunning sight.
Azahara D — Google review
I absolutely love coming to this place. From the narrow streets outside with all the super local spots, to inside at the temple. Its amazing and the energy is something to feel. Outside you can rent traditional Thai clothing to venture in and have photoshoots done (amazing experience btw). They have great food places around. You can access Wat Arun by car or boat (recommend taking the boat in atleast once). Traffic can get bad depending upon the time of day. At night this place is insanely beautiful viewing from a distance as its all lit up. Must see spot for sunrise and sunset. Bathrooms easily accessible. Entrance easy going and quick (you get a free water). I always visit whenever I am in BKK.

Beautiful temples and Chinese-Thai heritage. The stones, carvings, marbles, paints and colors are simply breathtaking. Had a beautiful experience. Bring e-fans, fans, umbrella and hats. Wear your sunscreens. Gets hot and crowded. Entrance fee for foreign visitors is BAHT200 each. **If you will not be in traditional thai costume, please be mindful of your attire.

We only experienced Wat Arun from the boat, but it still made a huge impression. The temple rises beautifully over the river, and the details on the spires are stunning even from a distance. It’s one of those places that instantly catches your eye. If you’re doing a Chao Phraya River cruise, make sure you slow down and really take in the view — it’s unforgettable. Can’t wait to come back and explore it properly!
Ashley — Google review
We visited Wat Arun, a beautiful Buddhist temple located by the river. The architecture is stunning, and climbing the temple gives amazing views of the surroundings. The entrance fee is 200 THB per person. It’s a peaceful and culturally rich place, definitely worth spending some time exploring.

The Jim Thompson House Museum, located on the Saen Saeb Canal in Bangkok, is a must-visit attraction. Once the home of American entrepreneur and architect Jim Thompson, it now showcases his impressive art collection. Thompson played a pivotal role in revitalizing the Thai silk industry after World War II and was honored for his contributions to Thailand. The museum features six traditional Thai teakwood houses that were carefully collected from different parts of Thailand by Thompson himself.
A Must-Visit Hidden Gem in Bangkok! I had a truly enriching experience at the Jim Thompson House Museum. The place is a beautiful blend of Thai architecture, art, and history. The traditional wooden houses surrounded by lush greenery create a peaceful atmosphere in the middle of the city. The guided tour was informative and engaging,I learned so much about Jim Thompson's life, his love for Thai silk, and the mystery behind his disappearance. The museum also showcases an impressive collection of Southeast Asian antiques and art pieces. It felt like stepping back in time. The staff were friendly and professional, and the whole place is well-maintained. Whether you're a history lover, art enthusiast, or just looking for something unique in Bangkok, this place is absolutely worth your time. Highly recommended!

The Jim Thompson House is an absolute must-visit in Bangkok — especially for anyone who loves design, architecture, or history. Every corner is visually stunning, from the beautifully preserved traditional Thai teak houses to the lush tropical gardens that surround them. The restaurant and café are also wonderful — elegant, relaxing, and a perfect spot to unwind after touring the house. The food and drinks are excellent, with the same thoughtful design touches that make the entire experience feel special. A true Bangkok gem that blends art, culture, and craftsmanship. Highly recommend!

Lovely oasis in the middle of Bangkok craziness (which I love). I went on my own without my kids or other 1/2 following me around looking bored. I have a very peaceful morning enjoying the gardens and architecture. The walk from the station was really interesting as well- lots of great street art down the canal walkway.
Jane M — Google review
I visited the museum in 2019 and fell in love with this hidden treasure in the heart of Bangkok. I visited again to see this place again and I was still amazed at how beautiful and peaceful this place is. I would definitely recommend the visit, and I would personally go with the flow in terms of tour times. It’s a place where you can sit and relax until your tour time. It’s been 7 years since I’ve been and I’ll definitely visit again on my next trip to Bangkok.

A nice place to see some history of Thai silk industry and how a foreigner was able to make such an impact. Plus an insight into how Jim Thompson lived. The restaurant on sight is absolutely top notch, not a tourist trap and worth the money (it’s not cheap cheap)

The Jim Thomson museum offers a truly enriching experience for visitors. Its curated collection is both insightful and beautifully presented, sparking curiosity at every turn. The exhibits are thoughtfully arranged, making it easy to navigate and absorb the historical significance. Many patrons find themselves deeply engaged by the diverse artifacts and narratives on display. It's a place that undoubtedly leaves a lasting positive impression!

Super nice attractive! You will learn a lot about Thailand and about Jim Thompson who was very interesting person, there is organized guided tour in many languages you have to join them with no additional payment

A peaceful and beautiful escape in the heart of Bangkok Everything about the Jim Thompson House is just fantastic — the art, the architecture, and especially the lush greenery surrounding the house. It feels calm and inspiring, a perfect mix of history and nature. The traditional Thai design and beautiful garden make it one of the most memorable places I visited in Bangkok. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates art, culture, and tranquility!

Fine dining restaurant
Sühring is a high-end restaurant in Bangkok that offers a whimsical take on modern German cuisine. Run by identical twin master chefs Thomas and Mathias Suhring, the restaurant is housed in a beautiful old villa converted into an intimate garden setting. The 12-course Erlebnis tasting menu features meticulously prepared dishes that showcase quality, seasonality, and simplicity.
A delightful experience in Bangkok. I wished we would have been told about the wine pairing before ordering a bottle. But then again, it's my fault, perhaps for not asking. Food was intricate and presented mostly in bite-sized portions. Those with bigger appetites may still feel hungry at the end, but for us, it was ok. I felt the service was good and attentive. It is pricey, but you pay for what you get.
KK T — Google review
Sühring is a beautiful blend of modern German fine dining and warm hospitality. Set in a restored villa, it’s elegant yet welcoming. Every course was thoughtfully prepared, from delicate starters to hearty mains, all highlighting seasonal ingredients. We especially loved the appetizers — the trout, lobster, and duck were the most memorable. We tried both the wine pairing and the non-alcoholic pairing, and both complemented the dishes perfectly. Service was friendly without being overbearing, making it a truly memorable dining experience in Bangkok.
Stephanie W — Google review
Best experience fine dining in Bangkok. Elegant yet very welcoming. A masterpiece from start to finish. The service was amazing. The wine pairing was really impressive. Although it was our first time, it felt like we have been coming here for years. The complimentary Birthday dessert was to die for. Will definitely come back again and again. Bravo!
Teekapol K — Google review
I recently celebrated my partner’s birthday at Sühring Bangkok, and once again this restaurant reminded me why it sits at the very top of my fine-dining list. Whenever I think of the best restaurants in Bangkok, Sühring is always the first name that comes to mind. The tasting menu is an exquisite journey — premium ingredients combined with masterful techniques and artistic presentation. Each course arrives like a small work of art, perfectly balanced in flavour, texture, and creativity. The service is flawless: attentive, warm, and professional without being intrusive, making the whole evening feel truly special.

went for lunch! german fine dining. food was really good especially the wild boar pate, duck, trout and lobster! the flavours aren't particularly innovative but definitely on point and balanced. presentation was elegant too i couldn't appreciate the pasta dish tho which was a supplement- i think can skip service staff were a lil amateur for 2 stars, maybe because we can't speak thai and there was a language barrier. it was really sweet that the twin masterchefs greeted every guest personally at the door though 😍 wouldn't recommend the wine pairing - maybe also a lot lost in translation due to language barrier
Nic — Google review
Sühring Bangkok offers an exceptional fine dining experience specialising in elevated German cuisine, blending history, art, and culinary excellence. Located in a charming villa from the 1970s, the restaurant provides an inviting atmosphere, enriched by its lush surroundings. The building's history adds a unique character, making each visit feel special. The culinary journey at Sühring is genuinely extraordinary. Every dish reflects the creativity and skill of the twin chefs, presenting intricate flavours that delight the palate. The carefully curated wine pairings enhance each course, further elevating the dining experience. The welcoming team adds to the ambience, and the opportunity to greet head chefs Thomas and Mathias adds a personal touch that makes the experience even more memorable. A special thank you goes to the charming manager, Martin, whose hospitality and attention to detail shine. I highly recommend Sühring to anyone seeking an authentic fine dining experience in Bangkok. Whether you're a local or a visitor, this restaurant is a must-visit for its exceptional food, warm atmosphere, and impeccable service.

If you’re looking for a memorable fine dining experience in Bangkok and are comfortable with elevated cost, then Sühring delivers top tier cuisine, a beautiful setting, high service level and a unique twist on German heritage. It’s particularly suited for a special occasion.
Serena V — Google review
One of the highlights of our trip to Bangkok. We came here for dinner during our visit in November, not quite sure what to expect from a German-inspired fine dining place in Thailand—but it completely won us over. The atmosphere is calm and modern, but with a warm, welcoming feel. You forget you're in the middle of the city as soon as you step in. We did the tasting menu with wine pairing (9 courses), and honestly, everything was beautiful. The wildpastate was one of the early highlights, but the Kagoshima Wagyu tenderloin was on another level—something I’ll remember for a long time. Every course was thoughtful, creative, and delicious. The wine pairing was worth it too; one of them had a vinegar note that really stood out in a good way. Service was excellent—professional but friendly. They really let you enjoy the evening at your own pace, which made the whole thing feel relaxed and special. The only part that didn’t totally wow me was dessert—still very good, just not as standout as the savory courses. It’s a big splurge for sure, but for a special night, it really delivered. Would recommend if you’re in Bangkok and up for something unique.

Gaa is a renowned fine dining restaurant in Bangkok that has earned a Michelin star. The head chef, Garima Arora, is the first Indian woman to receive this prestigious award. Her culinary journey began with a career change from journalism to attending Le Cordon Bleu in France and working at Noma in Copenhagen and Verre with Gordon Ramsay in Dubai. Gaa's location within a 60-year-old Thonglor baan ruen Thai-style building adds to its charm.
Extremely enjoyed our experience here. Came here once before years ago and the experience this time was probably a little bit better. Each courses was extremely tasty and service was great. Had a good selection of drinks as well and great service! A definite visit if you are visiting Bangkok!

Great experience. The atmosphere and the design of the space was magnificent. We were greeted by welcoming staff and the servers were really well spoken and attended to us very well. We were impressed by a couple of dishes on the menu. By the end, we were really full but the deserts really completed the experience! We hope to be back again for the new menu!

I had the absolute pleasure of dining at this two-star restaurant, and it was without a doubt the best dining experience I’ve ever had. From start to finish, everything was flawless — the service was impeccable, attentive without being intrusive, and the staff made us feel genuinely welcome. The ambiance was elegant yet warm, creating the perfect atmosphere to enjoy an unforgettable meal. And the menu — simply extraordinary. Every dish was a masterpiece, beautifully presented and bursting with creativity and flavor. Each course felt like a journey through taste and texture, leaving me amazed from the first bite to the last. This restaurant truly deserves every bit of its reputation. I can’t recommend it highly enough — an exceptional experience in every possible way.

From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere set the tone — elegant, warm, and inviting. The restaurant beautifully blends Thai and Indian cultures, especially the Baan Ruen Thai dining room and the garden room. Each dish was a creative harmony of spice and aroma — Thai herbs met Indian masala in a way that felt both exciting and natural. The Summer curry was unforgettable — fragrant, creamy, and perfectly balanced. Service was attentive and knowledgeable; the staff explained the inspiration behind each dish, making the experience feel personal and thoughtful. Every detail, from presentation to plating, lived up to Michelin standards. If you love both Thai and Indian cuisine, this restaurant is a masterpiece that celebrates both traditions while creating something entirely new. A must-visit for adventurous food lovers! We love every single of their crokery ! Looking forward to coming back!!!

Gaa was my first fine dining experience in Bangkok and one of the more memorable restaurants I visited this year. The menu is beautifully presented, creative, and ambitious. Every dish looks refined, the service feels polished, and the experience carries a sense of occasion. Yet for me, the food did not always land. It felt like the kitchen was trying so hard to be inventive that it sometimes missed the simple point that food should be delicious at heart. Most dishes impressed visually, but few stayed with me after the meal. The exception was the blue swimmer crab curry, which stood out as genuinely flavorful. The desserts, however, left me disappointed. I believe the closing course in a tasting menu should deliver a moment to remember, but here it fell flat. On the other hand, the chaat at the start hinted at the meal’s potential and may have been the strongest expression of flavor. Overall, Gaa is striking, sophisticated, and worth experiencing once. It shows a bold creative vision, even if not every plate hits the soul.

An unforgettable culinary journey at Gaa As part of our honeymoon in Thailand, my wife and I decided to end the trip with dinner at Gaa, inspired by our deep love for Indian cuisine. We came in curious, and admittedly a bit skeptical, since for us, Indian food had always meant delicious, authentic street food. We weren’t sure how it would translate into a Michelin-star experience. What we discovered was extraordinary. The meal was a true journey of flavors, creative, surprising, and absolutely unforgettable. Chef Garima Arora has crafted something remarkable here: a fine dining experience that celebrates the essence of Indian cuisine while elevating it to new heights. Garima and her team were warm, professional, and attentive. We were guided by Pam, who was wonderful, knowledgeable, engaging, and truly enhanced our experience. Thank you, Restaurant Gaa, for this exceptional evening. It was worth every baht, highly, highly recommended to anyone visiting Bangkok!

Beautiful restaurant. The experience started with the guest reception. A very warm welcome and a quick tour through tje house followed. Interesting insights were shared before being accomodated to the table. The culinary journey started. Together with their highly competent sommelier I selectef the matching wine. Each course topped the before one - it was fantastic. Out of this world.

Fusion India food. Food is good, tasteful and presentation is cute. We also had a wine pairing (4 glass), but the amount of each glass was minimum (see picture attached is the “full glass”) - a bit surprised, as never had that little wine for wine pairing in a Michelin restaurant… All in all, it was a nice dinner with friends, had a lot of fun!! But to be honest, 9,500 THB per person worth better service & decent amount of wine per glass. So, if you want to come, think twice. It’s a bit misleading by Google, as cannot put something more than 2,000+ THB, but it’s almost 250 Euro per person, not cheap for sure 😊

Sorn is a restaurant that aims to elevate the often overlooked and fiery flavors of southern Thai cuisine. Founded by Supaksorn Ice Jongsiri, the eatery seeks to challenge the perception of southern fare as unsophisticated. While royal Thai cuisine garners much respect for its mild flavors and ancient recipes, Sorn strives to showcase the refined aspects of southern Thai dishes. Despite being less celebrated than royal cuisine, Sorn has gained recognition since its establishment in 2018.
🌟 Dining at a Michelin 3-star in Bangkok 🇹🇭 was truly unforgettable! Focused on fresh ingredients from Southern Thailand 🌶️🍋, the flavors were bold, tangy & spicy — absolutely incredible. One of the most impressive Asian restaurants I have ever been to! Sorn is truly exceptional in preserving the authenticity of traditional Thai cuisine while adding a subtle touch of modern creativity in the presentation. Each dish is a masterpiece with beautiful plating and mouth-watering flavors that perfectly balance the essence of Thai taste. The team takes great care in selecting high-quality local ingredients and blends them harmoniously from one dish to the next. Every bite showcases the diversity and depth of Thailand’s culinary heritage, elevated to a fine-dining level without losing its soul. I honestly cannot find enough words to praise them. The best I can say is that if you are a food lover, you simply must experience Sorn for yourself.

Amazing Southern Thai Food I’m Thai, but I was surprised to try so many new ingredients I’ve never had before. Everything was super fresh and full of flavor. Every dish was delicious, and I ended up eating way too much—in a good way! The service was great. We went on a rainy day and took the BTS. They picked us up from Sukhumvit 26 close to BTS and even gave us towels and shawls to stay dry and warm. Really thoughtful! The price is totally worth it for a 3-star Michelin meal. The only downside was that the table next to us was a bit loud, so it was a bit hard to hear the staff explain the dishes. But overall, it was an amazing experience. Highly recommended!

The food was excellent, but honestly I would expect more from a 3 starred. In all fairness, everything was cooked to perfection and the taste was on point. It’s rather spicy, so if you cannot handle spice, make sure you let them know early on. Service was good, not perfect though. I like the fact that they sanitise the loo every time someone uses it. However, the service was not in point yet, and the food, although very good, doesn’t feel like it’s “value for money”and have not had anything I felt like it’s new or “surprise, guess we are paying for the stars. Good place to try southern thai food.

From the culinary journey we embarked on to the remarkable flavors we discovered, our time here transcended that of modern fine dining. It was a thoughtfully crafted and presented adventure through taste and aroma. Sorn has truly been one of the best dining experiences I've had in Asia and highly recommend to all those who wish to make exceptional memories.

The only 3-Michelin-Stars in Thailand, as of 2025. Sorn offers an unforgettable culinary journey that captures the essence of Southern Thai cuisine at its finest. Every dish is bursting with flavor, beautifully presented, and deeply rooted in local tradition. The attention to detail is remarkable—from the complexity of the ingredients to the storytelling behind each course. Service is outstanding: warm, professional, and effortlessly smooth, making the whole experience feel both special and genuinely welcoming. The wine list is thoughtfully curated, with excellent pairings that elevate each dish and reflect a deep understanding of flavor harmony. The atmosphere is refined yet relaxed—not overly formal, but still very much a fine dining experience. It’s the kind of place where world-class technique meets heartfelt hospitality. A true three-Michelin-star experience that opens your senses and leaves a lasting impression.

Le Du, a one-Michelin-starred restaurant in Silom, Bangkok, offers creative and deconstructed Thai dishes crafted by chef Thitid Ton Tassanakajohn. The menu features four- to six-course tasting menus with seasonally inspired dishes like meaty river prawn with pork belly jam and free-range chicken with fermented fish. Chef Ton's highwire techniques transform classics like green curry and miang kham, while local ingredients are combined to create heavenly flavor sensations.
We visited several two-star restaurants in Bangkok and were utterly enchanted and surprised to find that this one-star establishment outshines all the others in terms of flavor. The service was pleasant and unobtrusive, the wine selection was exceptional, and the Thai dishes were presented with a modern twist. The food was beautifully arranged, and the cozy bistro design, complemented by an open kitchen, created an inviting atmosphere. This place truly encompasses everything that makes a gourmet heart race with excitement. Every aspect, from the carefully curated menu to the welcoming ambiance, reflects a dedication to culinary excellence that is often hard to find. The balance of traditional Thai flavors with innovative techniques showcases the chef's creativity and skill. Dining here feels like a delightful journey through the rich tapestry of Thai cuisine, making it a must-visit for food enthusiasts.

Such great Thai experience at Le Du in Bangkok. It’s elegant, jet playful. Fine dining without being to pretentious. Chef Ton who is a great ambassador for the Thai kitchen works closely with Thai farmers and fishermen to get some great produce. Flavours, textures that I sometimes recognise but sometimes they are totally new to me. It’s such a nice experience to eat here and the staff are very attentive. We had both the wine pairing and also the non-alcoholic alternative. And surprisingly equally nice! Interior, it’s cozy and the restaurant having a fantastic light from thousands of little lamps in the ceiling!

Dining at Le Du was nothing short of extraordinary. The restaurant’s focus on seasonal Thai ingredients paired with modern techniques truly shines through in the 6-course Le Du Experience Menu. Each dish was a thoughtful expression of flavor, texture, and artistry. The portions were just about right. As the dishes were seasonal, I think the dining experience will be slightly different everytime you visit. But I’m sure the service will be impeccable. So glad I got to meet Chef Ton in-person

Food varies throughout the year based on what’s in season at the point of time. We were there in Sept 2025 and we all found the menu a little spicy and sharp for our liking. We are from a neighboring country where spicy food is something we consume daily. Overall still a really good experience and worth a visit if you’re in the area.

The wait staff are well trained and hospitable. Food tastes most of them are yummy and some have adventurous texture and flavour. We opted for 6 course meals with wine pairing.

We visited Le Du shortly after it was named the best restaurant in Asia. It was a nice experience overall, though not quite the best we’ve had - in Asia, Thailand, or even Bangkok 🙂 The signature river prawn was truly outstanding, and the coconut, sage & sesame dessert was another highlight. The rest of the dishes, however, felt more average and didn’t leave a strong impression. The ambience was pleasant but not extraordinary, and the air conditioning was uncomfortably strong, which made it a bit hard to fully relax and enjoy the meal.

The most stylish Thai food, so good it deserves a Michelin star. The charm of the ingredients, which are carefully prepared in every step, is a first for me and will likely be repeated a little next season. Every menu experience stimulates the taste buds very well, very impressive. The atmosphere and the people are happy, both physically and spiritually, as they say, food for your soul.

Generally it is an authentic thai dining experience for me without scrutinizing the flavors of the food. I watched Chef Ton on The R War, became a fan and wanted to try his restaurant in Bangkok. True enough his cuisine is exactly how he cooked and presented; if u watched the show u will know Chef Ton has a certain flair and style in his food. The service was friendly and good, but i hope that the choice of music can be more thoughtful for such fine dining experience, the music is abit too casual and radio pop. Feels more like a bar bistro. But otherwise all is good, i enjoyed my dining experience here.

Samrub Samrub Thai is a serious destination for Thai food enthusiasts, led by Prin Polsuk, an experienced chef. The restaurant offers two dining rounds at 5:30 and 8 pm, with a warm atmosphere and ever-changing menus that showcase bold flavors and authentic spicy heat. Chef Polsuk's dedication to exploring Thailand's countryside for unique dishes and ingredients is reflected in the constantly evolving menu themes.
Dining at Samrub was very, very memorable. You guys deserve one 🌟! Every dish was packed with bold flavors; Thai spices and sauces, the team took the time to explain each dish in detailed, from the origin of the ingredients to how they were prepared and cooked. Each portion was just right, which I find it so important in food courses as we get to enjoy without feeling full and overwhelmed. This is the kind of dining journey I’m happy paying for 😇

Truly exceptional Thai cuisine — refined, authentic, and full of heart I had a wonderful dining experience at Samrub Samrub Thai. The food was absolutely outstanding — full of authentic Thai flavours, presented with such care and attention to detail. Every dish reflected not just great technique, but also a deep respect for Thai culinary traditions. The ingredients were clearly of high quality, and the balance of flavours was perfect in every course. It’s rare to find a place that delivers both depth of taste and such refined presentation. Every dish showcased high-quality ingredients and a deep respect for traditional Thai recipes, elevated in a truly elegant way. My mom especially loved how each bite reminded her of familiar flavours, but with a refined twist. This is Thai cuisine at its finest — elevated, yet still deeply comforting and true to its roots. A well-deserved Michelin star, and I can’t wait to return.

Have wanted to try this place for some time finally managed to booked it. Pretty centrally located and very easy to get to by walking from the BTS or MRT station. I tried to Grab here and got stuck in a bad jam just turning in from the main road and I ended up walking into the restaurant. Its a small and cosy restaurant like sitting at the counter and watching the whole team in action. Came for the 530pm first round of seating and the moment we sat they were already ready to fire out the dishes. I have to say the dishes were all pretty good and unique. For me the flavours some of it might need a bit of getting used to, it's Thai cuisine but its not the typical Thai cuisine that you eat everyday in the typical restaurants or street food in Bangkok. They feature the local ingredients and elements in the dishes that you sometimes will find it surprising. For me it's really an experience and a wild time for my tastebuds to get to explore the complexity in flavours and yet good food. Of course there were a few standouts for me, especially the crab and the Thai version of their wagyu beef. It's really pretty experimental and they change their menu every 2 months but unfortunately they do not really have a signature dish which stays on in their menu. The tasting menu is pretty reasonable and would recommend this if you really like to take a ride to try out the unique recipes from Samrub Samrub Thai. Reservations required. They usually have the 530pm and the 8pm seatings.

An evening at Samrub Samrub Thai is certainly a memorable experience. It’s clear they know their way around Thai flavors and cooking techniques. Still, the overall experience did not quite meet expectations. The appetizers were creative and enjoyable, though the use of garlic was a bit heavy. With the main courses, they lost some harmony in the flavors; chili and fish sauce tended to dominate, leaving little room for subtlety. Presentation could have been more refined as well, some dishes had to be shared from one plate, and the pigeon was difficult to eat due to many small bones. The pace of the meal felt rushed, with courses served in quick succession. The wine list was limited, and there was no wine pairing available; only a few wines could be ordered by the glass. We were seated at the beautiful bar overlooking the kitchen, which offered a great view, though the smoke from the barbecue opposite us filled the room, leaving our clothes smelling strongly afterwards. What was particularly unfortunate was that the chef had clearly had a bit too much to drink at the time, which left an unprofessional impression. It created an awkward atmosphere for both the guests and the staff. All in all, it was an interesting evening and quite an experience, but it fell short of what one would expect at this level. Fortunately, we had excellent company; two lovely ladies from Hong Kong made the evening enjoyable.

With local and fresh ingredients, flavors are so complex and full of surprises. Professionally presented on table. Staff are super nice. Such a great dining experience. Although some of the dishes were too spicy for me, but the food was really tasty and sensational. Strongly recommend if you wanna try modern taste of Thailand. Make sure to secure your table online! :)

Real good Thai food. You are sitting all together at a big table and watch the crew prepari g every single dish including presentation. It was a unique and great experience. The food was perfectly cooked - however some said it was too spicy. For me the taste was just perfect. I didn’t like the speed of serving. I habent finished one course and was already served with the next - not only did it give me a feeling of rush but also kind of pushy and request to hurry.

The food is really only average and surely did not worth the amount that we paid by a far far distance. The service is non existent. It is supposed to be a Michelin 1 star restaurant, and the service is like a street stall and worse. My friend would like to taste the wine before we put like $20 USD down for a glass ( which is really only 125ml). There is only 3 choices of wine that one can order by the glass on their wine list, and by the time we tried the 2 whites and a bit of sake and could not find one that was satisfactory to have with our dinner, and wanted to try something else on the wine list, the senior staff was already rolling her eyes to the ceiling and making hand gestures in front of us to her sommelier to cut us off. Wow. We ended up ordering a $90 bottle of sparkling wine. And it came to food delivery, we were eating our first course only and suddenly, bang bang bang, three more courses that were to come one by one, were slammed in front of us, including a fish dish that should be eaten hot....and I called them out and said " hey we are not ready for the rest of the courses yet..." but they did not care and said that is how their kitchen schedule their preparations and it cannot be changed. My friend liked the crepe/pancake that was served and would like to ask for one more, Again, No, they could not do that. The food portions are all fixed and the kitchen had moved on to doing somethings else and could not make another one. Then came the fish and other courses that were so spicy that we cannot eat it, and actually all the other customers could not stomach the spiciness either and had to left the food there. The different dishes had different sauces, and they did not give us a clean dish for the new course, so the sauce of the new dish was slop on the sauce of the last dish like it doesn't matter if they mix.... Half way through eating, because they were grilling the food inside the restaurant and there was not sufficient ventilation, I could feel the carbon monoxide and smoke accumulating, and I asked them if they have a carbon monoxide monitor in the house, and if they mind either opening a window or the door, and of course, No, they don't have one and could not open any door or windows. At some point the "Celebrity Chef" came over to try to talk to us, and he was so totally either drunk or stoned, that he was totally incomprehensible and incoherent. All the diners noticed and the response were the same, they could hear words coming out of his mouth but didn't have a clue what he was saying. All in all, a very expensive dinner with half the food too spicy to eat, rude and bad service, unsafe dining environment. Luckily, the evening was saved by a delightful couple from Europe sitting next to us and we shared a bottle of champagne and laughed off the experience.

Extremely disappointing experience. The food was underwhelming at best — some dishes were too salty, and nothing on the menu rose above the level of ordinary Thai food except for the dumpling pork soup which was quite tasty. For a Michelin-starred restaurant and an Asia’s 50 Best listing, this was a complete letdown. Presentation was bland and uninspired, and there was still some eggshells in our dish. To top it off, I even ended up with mild diarrhea after the meal. The food and service lacks sincerity and feels somewhat robotic, chaotic and rushed. The head chef fawned over the caucasian or “farang” guests - having drinks with them, constantly chatting and checking in on them, while completely ignoring other asian diners as though we are invisible, making it especially akward as we were all seated on the kitchen counter. The asian diners were strangely placed all together in one section of the counter and had to make small chats amongst ourselves to make the environment less awkward as we were ignored by the head chef. Nobody even came to asked us on our feedback of the food etc. The entire dining experience was less than 2 hours as we could not bare to stay there any longer as it feels very cramped as well. It is painfully clear who they value more as a customer. Paying the same amount of money (approximately THB10,000 for 2 pax) only to be treated as second-class customers is very insulting and shocking in such an establishment. In short: overpriced for the cheap local ingredients used and small portion, overrated, and utterly undeserving of the accolades (perhaps the Michelin inspectors are caucasians). If you are asian, save your money and go to other better established Thai fine dining restaurants like Sorn, Baan Tepa, Potong, Khaan where customers are treated equally with respect and you don't feel shortchanged.
