Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market is a must-visit for market and food enthusiasts. The market is famous for its picturesque canals, lush gardens, and diverse food options. Visitors can stroll around the market, sample various dishes such as salt-crusted fish and flavorful mungbean noodles with shrimp, and soak in the vibrant atmosphere. This floating market is part of Bangkok's unique morning life, offering traditional Thai boats selling fresh produce, flowers, coconut water, and juices.
If you want to experience really less touristy and more authentic local floating market or bazaar market. This place I highly recommend. The things here are sold make by local artists and not those you see in other places. There are 8 zones. Food, drinks some local made souvenirs and performances. They have boat ride on the small river not big for those wanna experience the local vibes and life. The food are quite reasonable and fresh!!!

If you're visiting a local floating market in Bangkok, this is the one. I got recommended this one through a TikTok comment, as the floating market on that particular video was very scammy and much farther away than this one. Easy to reach by car and Grab and definitely a nice place. Lots and lots of food options and also cute markets. Got to taste a lot of local food and dishes, which was great! The boat ride was 600 baht (we didn't negotiate because the price felt fair already) and had a very nice long boat ride, with some very fast sections. Got to see the Indian monitor lizard in the water which was also very cool! There is a also a small place where you can see turtles and feed birds and rabbits! The birds fly on your hand if you put some food on your hand :) So definitely a cool place with kind people!
J. D — Google review
AVOID. Unless you have an extra 1,500 to 2,000 extra Thai Baht per person, that you have no use for. ALL the actual vendors are long gone, the only 'vendors' left are not even on the water. All you will see are souvenir shops selling the same merchandise you can find all over Thailand, however at the "Floating Market" they will cost you double or triple what you'll pay at Chatuchunk weekend market in Bangkok. It was a huge disappointment and an enormous letdown. I feel as though I was conned. Do yourself a favor: do something else. After seeing my photos, you'll have seen all that there's to see.
Michael C — Google review
Had a bunch of great food here. We did get a boat ride over from a different market and got left here but we made the best of it which wasn't hard with all the excellent food that was every where. I would advise to try a lot of different things. The food and fresh drinks were so good. I definitely over ate but it was worth it.
Dondré — Google review
If you are looking to visit a unique market that still is quite local, not too touristic and still has Thai authencity, this is your market to visit! The market majorily focuses on food, but there are also some souvenir or gift shops. There are many different food options, really delicious and very affordable food. Highly recommended!
Fan — Google review
Amazing authentic experience, where locals actually shop and you can go on a fun boat tour to a secret market. Sadly I didn't remember the location because the whole place is a labyrinth where sellers actually live, very fascinating stuff. 🔥More on insta/tiktok @slatki.eats

We took a Grab to this floating market on a Saturday. Overall, it was a nice experience, and we had many boat noodles 🍜 . The best thing is that this market is very close to a seafood market. We spent half a day in this zone and truly enjoyed our time here.
Stephanie M — Google review
One of the best Floating Market from Bangkok, very authentic with less tourist than the others. The experience was great and the boat trip amazing. Inside the market have many different kind of food,if you can try to eat some thai food that some ladies prepare on the boat.

Taling Chan Floating Market is a traditional market where vendors sell a variety of food and drinks from boats along the river. Unlike larger markets, Taling Chan offers an authentic Thai food experience without overwhelming crowds. Visitors can enjoy freshly cooked crabs and barbecued prawns while relaxing by the water and soaking up village life. Children can also feed river fish from the jetty. Located seven miles outside Bangkok, this market features wooden boats cooking fresh seafood on miniature barbecues along the riverbank.
There is another floating market in Bangkok at Talingchan. In the past most of the shops were in the boats but now they are on the street. It is a small market that has many foods, fruits, clothes. This market opens in the weekend. Enjoy your weekend here.

If you're looking for a quaint, off-the-beaten-path experience, this floating market is a hidden gem. Unlike the more popular markets, it's not very crowded and you won't find too many tourists here. The street food is a highlight – delicious, cheap, and plentiful. The community feel is warm and welcoming, making it a perfect spot to relax and soak in the local culture. Highly recommended for those seeking an authentic and peaceful market experience.

The Floating Market was really nice! There were many dessert options, and I went with a friend — we tried the salt-crusted fish, tilapia. I think it’s the best place in Bangkok to eat that! The price was very cheap, and the fish was huge. It was amazing to feel the whole market vibe with the boats passing by. 8.5/10 🌊🐟 I’m Brazilian and have a travel agency in Peru — Machu Picchu, Cusco 🇵🇪 @dopkertravel. If you visit Peru, I can help you! ✈️

A very nice market with so many different foods and drinks to try. All the people are super friendly. Try as much as you can because it's all great. I would say caution with the floating market tour at the back. When I went the tour took us to another market and dropped us off, we didn't get to shop from the boat. Also when they dropped us off they only gave us 5 minutes to explore the new market. Needless to say. They left us and we had to get a taxi back.
Dondré — Google review
A very interesting local market, an "absolute must-visit" destination for a food experience you "must try". You can get there from central Bangkok using many types of transport; if you have a large group and are not restricted by time, taking one of the many very cheap bus routes is a great option.
Nam N — Google review
Small market open sat and sun There is tour Small boat 1000bath for up to 4 passengers . Go to another bigger Floating market. Time spend of tour is 1.20hours. Only 20 mins stop at th another floating market isnt enough time to visit.
Gphuot — Google review
i recommend getting there at opening for a quieter experience. there were unfortunately no stalls in boats on the canal but there are plenty of stores on land to choose from and it’s evident that locals frequent this market.
Kehara E — Google review
The market here is small, but it is better than the one further away because you can tak a boat from there and be transported to another location. We decided to stay and roam around the area before taking a taxi back to our hotel. You don't have to pay any ticket except the boat trip The parking can be challenging better take a taxi. It is worth to take the boat trip to another place.

Nestled along a picturesque canal that feeds into the Chao Phraya River, Bang Nam Phueng Floating Market offers a delightful escape from the bustling tourist spots of Bangkok. This charming market is relatively small and features covered stalls where visitors can indulge in an array of seafood snacks, local produce, desserts, and unique handicrafts. Unlike larger floating markets that attract throngs of tourists, Bang Nam Phueng maintains a more authentic vibe with fewer vendors and a relaxed atmosphere.
This floating market is an escape from the bustling crowds of Bangkok. Lots of different stores selling everything at a lower price vs mainland. Friendly people, delicious food and you're able to walk at your own pace here. Definitely a must go if you are in Bangkok and want to experience something different.

Bang Nam Phueng Floating Market in Bangkok is an absolute gem! The market is filled with incredibly friendly vendors who greet visitors with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. The street food here is simply amazing—delicious, freshly prepared, and perfect for snacking as you explore. There are also plenty of fun activities to enjoy, making it a great destination for families and friends alike. The boat ride to the island is quick and scenic, taking less than 10 minutes, adding an exciting touch to the visit. Plus, you'll find a wide variety of lovely souvenirs to take home. Overall, Bang Nam Phueng Floating Market offers a delightful blend of tasty food, welcoming people, and fun adventures—definitely a must-visit in Bangkok!

I’ve been meaning to visit this market for the last three decades and I’ve finally made it. It’s a very cute, laid back, and local place with hardly any tourists around. Take a songthaew from Bang Na station, then ferry, then rent a bicycle to get there. It’s not a floating market but it’s like visiting a cleaner version of 1980s Bangkok.
Floyd C — Google review
Excellent market located in the Green Lung. Loads of shopping, food , plants, available. 100s of stalls selling all manner of goods. Restaurants available. Bang Nam Phueng Floating Market (Thai: ตลาดน้ำบางน้ำผึ้ง, pronounced [tā.làːt ná(ː)m bāːŋ ná(ː)m pʰɯ̂ŋ]) is in Bang Nam Phueng Subdistrict, Phra Pradaeng District, Samut Prakan Province adjacent to Wat Bang Nam Phueng Nai temple and considered as part of Bang Kachao, a good atmosphere area on bend of the Chao Phraya River. The market was inaugurated in 2004 by the local subdistrict authority to help locals move an oversupply of agricultural products. Its vendors limited to people from the community. The market is on a canal surrounded by a residential neighborhood. Products include commercial crops such as fruits and sweets, noodles, processed food, sea shells, dried shrimp, pickled shrimp, desserts, grain cakes, and fruit .[4][5][6] Plenty of parking for cars, motorbikes, and bicycles. Handicap doable and recommended ♿️ ....be aware of tight spaces and some uneven ground surfaces. Restrooms....hmmmmm, probably somewhere. Final take.....highly recommended
Markus “ — Google review
Good to visit and recommend to visit here! You can rent a bicycle or a bike at the pier and drive around the areas. The market was local from local people staying here and the food was good prices
Elysian — Google review
Really enjoyed our day at the floating market. No experiences on boats of markets on boats which did disappoint us a bit. But it's lush green, was busy but not crowded. Got to try nice foods, had fantastic stretch massage there, lovely atmosphere.
L H — Google review
A typical Thai floating market worth visiting to try local food. You must try meatballs and boat noodle soup while you’re here. The easiest way to get there is by Grab, but if you have more time, there’s a more fun and enjoyable way! :) Take the BTS to Bang Na station, then go to Wat Bang Na Nok Pier and cross the river. On the other side, you can rent a bike or walk to the market, heading towards the Bangkok Tree House hotel. It’s beautiful and picturesque—a completely different side of Bangkok! :)Enjoy🙏🙏🙏

I love Bang Nam Phueng Market because here is best Isan sausages ever, also in this place they sell only Thai dessert I love, BLACKPINK's Lalisa favourite from her childhood. Every time I am here, I'll buy Isan sausages, fried Thai green flower dessert, some other food and drinks, then sit down in sitting place and eat. Also it has a small but beautiful temple which you should visit.

Fresh food market
Wat Sai Floating Market, located just a half-hour drive from Bangkok's bustling city center, offers a unique glimpse into the past of Thailand’s vibrant market culture. Once a lively hub for locals and tourists alike, this floating market has seen better days due to urban development that led to its decline. However, recent efforts have breathed new life into the area. While you won't find traditional boats filled with goods here anymore—those days are long gone—the remnants of its history can still be felt.
Wat Sai Floating Market offers an authentic and serene experience, showcasing the charm of traditional Thai floating markets. With its quaint boats selling fresh produce, local snacks, and handmade crafts, it’s a perfect spot to immerse yourself in the culture. The atmosphere is peaceful and less commercialized compared to other markets, allowing visitors to enjoy the simplicity of local life. The nearby temple adds to the experience, providing a glimpse into the spiritual side of the community. It’s an ideal place for those seeking a quieter, more traditional floating market experience in Bangkok
Suresh J — Google review
"Wat Sai Floating Market offers a glimpse into traditional Thai culture with its lively stalls, delicious local food, and charming riverside vibes. A unique experience to savor authentic flavors and crafts! 🛶🍜✨" Waitttt............. No market no nothing just empty deserted place with some boat asking exhobritatnt price for a boat ride. Market maybe open during night but definitely not a floating one. Please don't visit during day time.
Abhilash G — Google review
If you look for maket on the boat. Don’t. There’s none. Just on the street only. Was here at 8am.
Trong D — Google review
A beautiful market, there is a lot to see here from fish to all kinds of fruits to ready-made dishes. You can also easily buy art, toys and clothes here. Unfortunately, we were unlucky, we arrived at 10.30am and there was not a single boat. Unfortunately, I can't say whether they come later or have disappeared completely due to a lack of tourism. We then took a short boat tour, which was also very worthwhile.
Marco ( — Google review
I would not really recommend this market unless you are really into seeing a floating market that is no longer vendors on boats. The price of the food is actually slightly higher than in other parts of Bangkok and the quality of the food is lower. It is pretty much a tourist trap nowadays, but the surrounding area is pretty nice.
Brian C — Google review
Good place but you need to bargain the price in every items. You have to take a boat to visit floating market. Before going please check the time of opening of market... some site are very nice... they will take you to some temple also.. and park also there is small zoo.. You need to bargain rates for boat price also.
Dharam S — Google review
Tourist Trap, come here if you want to get scammed. The floating market has been closed down for 40 years already. The photos in the review is from Dumneonsaduak floating market in Samut Songkarm province.

Kwan-Riam Floating Market, one of Bangkok's newest floating marketplaces since its opening in 2012, offers a delightful glimpse into the vibrant atmosphere of traditional Thai markets. Known for its diverse food offerings, this market is particularly lively on weekends and public holidays. Arriving early around 7 am allows visitors to witness the unique ritual of alms-giving to monks who glide by in boats—a truly enriching experience that concludes by 8 am.
It is located at Ramkhamhaeng Soi 185 and is a floating market in the middle of the city that simulates the lifestyle of the waterfront through various interesting activities, e.g., offering food to monks by boat, as well as tasting a selection of savoury dishes and desserts from all regions of Thailand. Visitors can choose to eat both on the shore and on the boat. The highlight of this market is the boat shaped bridge that connects Wat Bamphen Nuea and Wat Bang Pheng Tai
Naveen U — Google review
One of the well known floating markets while approaching Bangkok from Marine & Safari World. The Market closes by 5 pm. We were late to reach when we saw empty markets with nice crossover bridges, clear water with fishes, artificial trees, selfie points and nearby Buddha temple. A small shop sells fresh bakery items especially various types of traditional breads of the area.
Arun S — Google review
👍 very good and relaxing place to visit during the weekends. Quite a nice place with good local food, desserts, and Thai drinks. 🥤 You won’t be disappointed. Must feed the fish 🐟. Buy a few bread packets - it’s not expensive. Also suggest to take the boat ride to enjoy a peaceful canal ride. 😊 I visit once every month to feed the fish some bread. 🍞
Pratyush P — Google review
Once (pre-Covid) a very busy “floating market” on weekends, it has become a bit of a disappointment with many shops closed. The market is along both sides of the canal and can be entered from the 2 temples on both sides.

Loved this placed! Got to see dome very cool things, meet great people, get some shopping and don't get me started on the food! It was so good!!!!

Very pleasant market to visit on the weekend, even though not much “floating”. It has quite a local flavor and as we live nearby I always come here with friends that visit us.

Don Wai Floating Market, located on the outskirts of Bangkok, is a popular spot for locals and tourists alike. This riverside market offers a wide array of Thai street food, fresh produce, handicrafts, flowers, and fruits. What sets it apart is its diverse seafood selection and charming Thai architecture. Visitors can enjoy sightseeing boat trips along the refreshing ThaJeen River while indulging in delicious local cuisine.
I love this market. You enter thru the temple into the market. One can find just about anything other than meat. There are so many local vendors and there is also an eatery place where you can sit beside river. The food is also great. 👍
Tommy O — Google review
We went on a Friday morning and it was not crowded, which was perfect for us. Loved that this market seemed more local than others. Everything is written in thai and the vendors weren't all able to tell me in English what the food was, which was fine for me. The market smelled good of fresh jackfruit, sweet desserts and savoury dishes. There was a nice mix of stalls selling fruits vegetables, baked/cooked dishes and things.
Delphine P — Google review
There are a lot of Thai local food at this market. The prices are reasonable. The parking maybe a bit challenging but was not that bad. The weather was hot and the market could be crowded sometimes. Try the duck, it was good. I spent like 2 hours walking shoping around.
Gemma P — Google review
Easy to get to and worth seeing. Beautifully constructed Temple with open spaces in front used as car parks, under the trees shade and it’s free. Walking into the temple with nice views around is enjoyable. Going further in is a shaded large area that extends alongside the river bank, which is the local market (Fruits and vegetables, etc). There’s also a couple of restaurants (overlooking the river) offering mainly local dishes at reasonable price. Food was good and the atmosphere was good too. For an extra THB20, you can buy a small bag of bread to feed the big fish next to you.
Husain ( — Google review
Donwai floating market located nearby Nakornchaisi river opens everyday. There are many fresh fruits, vegetables, foods and desserts and all the prices are reasonable. You can take the boat (pls check with the officer there) along the river. The merchants are kind. The below photos are some of them. The parking lot is plenty but it will be crowded in the weekends. Have fun and enjoy 😁😁

One of my favorite floating market located around 30 km from Bangkok city. I usually visit here on Saturday or Sunday. From toys, plants, fresh vegetables, fresh fruits, Thai local snacks until heave meals are availabe here. I like to have lunch in one of restaurants beside river. We also can ride the boat and bring the snacks on the boat. Just buy the boat ticket onsite.

We dropped by this market on way to Kanchanaburi. Great venue to experience the local vibe and way of life. From fresh food to local Thai desserts to snacks, it has lots of variety. I even saw accessories stores (for kids) and a store selling bling bling jewellery.

Floating market
Nestled in the Bang Kruai District of Nonthaburi, Wat Takien Floating Market offers a delightful glimpse into traditional Thai life. This charming market comes alive every weekend as locals navigate their boats to sell fresh produce and delicious homemade dishes, creating an inviting atmosphere that feels both authentic and friendly. Visitors can stroll through this quaint floating village, where they’ll find a variety of affordable food options and local goods available for purchase.
Honestly, my friend and I didn’t mean to end up here but we did, and I’m so glad. This soup I’m attaching a photo of, was actually my favorite thing I ate the entire week I was in Thailand. I think we came at a weird time because not a lot was open, but the few things that were open, did not disappoint!! We loved it all. The vibes here were fun too and there was lots of random fun art (like the dogs playing poker). Anyways, I 20/10 recommend getting to this place to eat that dang soup (so so so good).
Maya J — Google review
Amazing floating market. It is not too big, but feels very authentic. Locals are extremely friendly and we were able to try some traditional soup for 20 THB. Also, you can take a 30-minutes long boat ride for 100 THB per person.
Eva F — Google review
Local farmers' market with homegrown fruits and vegetables at fair prices. The atmosphere has a casual, relaxed canal-side vibe, and it's great to support local vendors. The overwhelming use of single-use plastics—bags, cups, straws—is hard to overlook. It really takes away from the charm. A less plastic and a few more conscious, eco-friendly choices would go a long way in making Wat Takien not just a good stop, but a great and sustainable one. ♻️🌿🛶🧑🏽‍🌾👩🏾‍🌾

This is one of the floating markets near Bangkok worth for a visit. It is in the area of Wat Takien, Nontburi province.

Local Suburban Thai market with 99.9% local shoppers. Great food not really a tourist attraction. If you drive don't go in the gates go around to the new massive parking area. Open on weekends and some holidays.
Kev C — Google review
Nice market with delicious food and smooth vendors. Fair prices, relax ambiance. Recommended for a quick bite and fresh coffee.
Antoine O — Google review
Local floating market within Takien temple. There are many food shops be indoor and on boats. The price of foods and local vegetable are cheap. You can enjoy with food and buy something back with cheap price. By the way it is quite hot.

Nestled just 6 kilometers from Bangkok's bustling city center, Bang Khu Lat Floating Market offers a delightful escape into local Thai culture. This charming market is not only a haven for authentic knick-knacks but also a paradise for food lovers eager to sample some of Thailand's best dishes. Known for its vibrant fruit and fish stalls, the market provides an intimate atmosphere that feels more like a hidden gem than a tourist hotspot.
Brand new (May 2024) small local food market with a relatively large selection of food. Very convenient for a quick stop. I live close by, so I will be coming often.

Bad experience during the Elephant ride , they very rude to even talk when enquired about the picture and the price , they expect you to just buy…. Will never visit
Hemanath S — Google review
Quiet little market, not really something for a tourist but a local market for Thais. However I do encourage people to visit as there is the most amazing little coffee shop here that serves amazing hand ground coffee and is served well presented on a small tray with chinese tea. There is a small chinese influenced temple to the rear and a small bridge which offers rustic photo opportunities, particularly in the evening
Ryan B — Google review
I really love this place, only locals around and you have to speak Thai. Food is excellent and people are so friendly and laid back
YJ L — Google review
Literally nothing here, a tiny market with like 3-5 shops and some are closed even on Saturday. Not worth the time and driving effort. You guys need to work more harder to push your market otherwise there are a heap of better choices. For example, you can go to 7-11 and find more food and items than here.
Civicfc P — Google review
It's such a amazing place with Thai and Chinese traditional. The market is quite peaceful and cultural atmosphere. If you want to travel in traditional things including foods, life, community, and nature, you should visit this place. The feeling of traditional canal view makes you relaxing as you has minimal life.

Wat Saphan Floating Market is a charming local market that offers a unique experience for both tourists and locals. The main attraction is the picturesque wooden bridge adorned with a giant fishing net, lotus flowers, and leaves, making it a popular spot for photos. Unlike typical tourist spots, this market offers delicious and affordable food that attracts many locals. Visitors can take a boat trip for an affordable price to explore the surrounding area, including a temple and an orchid farm.
A (relatively) hidden gem. I enjoyed my visit today. It was nice to see a market that appears to serve the locals first and foremost.
Olivia — Google review
A beautiful floating market, really not a tourist focus. Here you will still meet many locals. The food is delicious and very cheap, unlike tourist spots. A trip with a boat is really recommended for only 100 baht you will be taken to a temple and after a short stay to an orchid farm and back to the starting point. The waterways are wonderful you see many locals live and work like this. A great experience on a wonderful day. I can really only recommend this place to you.

A floating market in a Kumpang Temple. With a freindly seller make the market welknown and some foreigner are visitng to worship and shopping. Mainly food with some table for seating and acceptable price. Parking are available around the temple.

We came by boat to this temple and they have small Sunday market. Stop by to pray and walked around for about 20 minutes. The market offer variety of food selection and the price is not too expensive. Only a few activities for the children as well.
Supakhun C — Google review
This market is clean and easy to park then walk. There is not much shop here but you can find various thai traditional food. It is really like you are on countryside. There is a tourist boat service. It is really good to sit here in the morning.

Wat Saphan is a floating market that is easy fun to shop and have beautiful sightseeing! It was my first trip exploring Bangkok by a boat. The price was worthy of the length of my journey and amazing. We stopped at some places. The places weren’t beautiful enough but it could add your experiences 😊✅

Wat sapan ratchapuek floating market Similar as khlong lat mayonm but smaller. Sells foods, fruits, and vegetables. Has a Buddhist wat temple with several devotees praying. We arrived by a river boat for 20 minutes. There are two floating food stalls. The toilets are free for use and clean.
Norsa'adah — Google review
You can go to this market by one hour boat trip from Khlong LadMayom floating market for 100 baht. Small market and Buddha centered market. I don’t recommend visiting only this market but I strongly recommend going to Khlong LadMayom floating market and choosing 1-hour boat tour includes Orchids farm and this floating market.

Amphawa is a charming floating market located about 50 kilometers from Bangkok, making it an ideal day trip for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. The journey takes roughly one and a half hours, with options to travel by bus or taxi. This market strikes a perfect balance between size and popularity, making it particularly family-friendly. Visitors can indulge in an array of delicious Thai dishes that showcase vibrant flavors, including unique offerings like cat rice.
(Translated by Google) The food tastes very good. Thai food has been applied to side dishes. It gives a variety of flavors. There are chili pastes and soups that go together well, and there are many menus that I've just seen people making for sale. Like the stolen cat rice. I really like it. Located in Chatuchak, the Floating Market by Or Tor Kor is a charming spot that opened in November 2019. This small market offers a wide array of local delights, from Thai desserts to fried chives pancakes. In addition to food, visitors can also find Thai handicrafts such as wallets and traditional clothing. The market is known for its fresh ingredients including fruits, vegetables, and seafood.
A surprise in our itinerary but what a beautiful place. Local food, fruits, vegetables and meat, lovely folks abd kept really clean. If you are looking for some fresh ingredients for cooking or gardening equipments or olants look no further. Great choice of sea food as well.

Really good and fun experience but be careful with scammers, they tried to make us pay 2500baht per person for the boat ride and we managed to end up paying 500 each, so don’t let them scam you. Anyways, a thing you must do if you’re in Bangkok.
