Thai restaurant
Restaurant
Blue Elephant Cooking School & Restaurant Bangkok offers traditional royal Thai cuisine in a colonial-style setting. The restaurant is part of a global brand, with the Bangkok branch being one of the most famous and prestigious locations. It has been open since 2002 and is housed in an elegant early 1900s colonial building. In addition to its renowned food, the restaurant also features a cooking school where visitors can learn authentic royal Thai recipes.
It was my brightest experience in the trip to Bangkok. I attended a whole day private cooking class in Thai cuisine. A broad range of famous Thai dishes were explained in detail and I cooked them together with the teacher. Now I understand the dishes much better and can do them at home. During the break, the school served very substantial and delicious lunch. The school is well equipped with everything necessary for cooking. Everyone is polite and kind!

We went there for dinner. All the staffs there were amazing, they are so friendly and patience. We can’t decide what to order at first and they offered digital picture menu, which was very helpful. Love the atmosphere, there are many fresh flower arrangements and candle on every table. Over all the food is outstanding. Especially love the coconut soup and the appetizers. Main entree I like the ribs and fish but the fried rice is not too impressive may skip next time. They even gave out fresh orchids when we finished the meal. What a nice memorable experience.

Blue Elephant serves incredible food at a great price! 😍 Even though we were full, we couldn’t stop until we finished all the chef tasting menu dishes. I got a Tom Yum Cocktail 🍸 but barely drank it because the food was too good to put down. The waiter even asked if it was too spicy, but I was just busy savoring every bite. Highly recommend!

Overall good foods. Just that I feel maybe slightly pricey Vs the type of foods but this is fine dining is ok. Took the heritage menu which is more than sufficient for 1 pax. Good to bring your partner or customers to try.
The T — Google review
An exquisite culinary journey into Thai heritage cuisine in a historical building. Each dish was artfully presented, paired with warm hospitality and an ambience that exudes serenity. The experience felt transportive—elevating both palate and mood. The staff’s attentiveness and thoughtful explanations of every dish added depth and meaning to the dining experience. A truly memorable day, made even more special as we left—Kookai, one of the staff, bid us farewell with orchids and thoughtful little gifts. Thank you, Kookai, for your warm gesture; it was deeply appreciated and the perfect start to our trip to Bangkok.

Very nice food experience. But not enough people to serve our group. Each & every food was very tasty. They also had some fusion of Thai style/flavoured steak, which was outstanding. Desserts were also nice.
TITASH T — Google review
Came back to this fabulous place after 10 years, this time with the family, and it didn’t disappoint. The atmosphere inside the old mansion located in the middle of the Sathorn concrete jungle is an old-school colonial one. The food is great. Wonderful experience.
Leonid B — Google review
The restaurant manager Arm served us. He was very customer service oriented. He showed us the menu with picture and patiently explained to us the dishes and recommended us the dishes to order. We enjoyed the meal very much. The restaurant’s staff are all very friendly and its ambiance tastefully decorated. We definitely will come again. The food is fresh and tasty , delicious and well presented.

Immerse yourself in the vibrant flavors of Thai cuisine at Bangkok Thai Cooking Academy. Located near the Bang Chak BTS station, this professional culinary academy offers hands-on cooking classes with expert local chefs providing clear English instructions. Before your class, you'll have the opportunity to shop for fresh ingredients at a local market. With no set menu, you can choose which dishes to learn and cook, ensuring you don't miss out on your favorites.
We had an amazing experience at the Thai cooking class in the Bangkok Thai Cooking Academy! I would recommend this place to my best friends! The lovely great instructure speaks fluent English, asks if there are questions, patient and makes a real good vibe in the class. I had to delay our class and the place was super friendly and understanding about that. When I said I am vegan, not just vegetarian they were super cooperative and there was no problem whatsoever. The food was amazing, we learnt new things about the Thai cooking, in the classroom and outside in the market tour as well. The cost is so reasonable, in relation to the time, the learning, the materials, the great staff and the big meal in the end of the class! I cannot recommend it enough. If you hesitate and looking for another reassurance I give it to you ;) P.s Another bonus is that all of these dishes were for me only. It's as going to the most generous restaurant and even get a takeaway like I had to do.

If you're looking for an amazing cooking class, look no further - this is by far the best class I've taken. Chef Lekky was a really funny, sassy teacher who made the whole experience so much fun. Food genuinely tasted 10/10 and I will definitely be recreating these recipes at home. The kitchen staff were all so helpful and made the whole experience of cooking 5 dishes very efficient. We met at 8am near the On Nut station & were fully finished by 12pm. The kitchen was also air conditioned which made things more comfortable. I really appreciated the flexibility shown by the staff as I asked to reschedule on the day of my class, for which they were fully accommodating. Would highly recommend this class! Thanks for a wonderful experience

The instructor and staff were very nice. The class was well organized and easy to follow. School location is very easy to find and the price is very affordable. If you are looking for something fun to do in Bangkok I definitely recommend to try cooking class at Bangkok Thai Cooking Academy. You can also bring all the food you leaned how to make home with you. All the dishes I chose to learn were all delicious. I was so happy that I leaned how to make Kao Soi for the first time. It was excellent recipe!

You can book via Gowabi App for better price. Need to call in advance. The instructor is superb, nice and detailed and super helpful. Such a well-spent morning here. You can enjoy your own cooking after that. Love the activity.

Hands down — Highly recommended Thai cooking class!!! English-speaking chef made Thai cooking less intimidating since she’s telling the hacks and substitutions of ingredients. Her instructions are very clear and gave the base sauce and base ingredients for Thai dishes.
Larissa G — Google review
I’ve been in Bangkok this summer and this was one of the best experiences! With this course you get to choose the dishes you want to cook and decide the amount of spices you want to add so that it can satisfy your taste. Not only the food was amazing but also the chef was very entertaining and interesting to listen to. Definitely recommend this as it is also very close to the skytrain, so easy to get to.

One of the highlights of our trip to Bangkok was taking a Thai cooking class at Bangkok Thai Cooking Academy. It was such a unique and authentic experience — far from the typical tourist activities. The class started with a visit to a local market, where we learned about the fresh ingredients used in Thai cuisine. Then we prepared traditional dishes and enjoyed them all together. Our chef was not only skilled and knowledgeable, but also incredibly friendly and fun. Doing this at the beginning of our trip made us appreciate Thai food even more throughout our stay. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a real, local experience!

We took our 9th class yesterday with our kids who are visiting Bangkok for the first time. This is a must do experience while you are here. Chef Lekky is the best Chef and teacher. The staff is incredible as well and make everything easy. Instructions are easy to understand and you feel so successful when you are finished at what you accomplish. The food is so delicious ( we feel the best in Bangkok)and there is more than enough. I like the comfort of the prep stations and the hands on cutting with a knife. You get little rest breaks and the market tour is very educational. They cater to your diet and health concerns which makes it enjoyable for everyone. I'm 66 and my husband is 76 and this class is doable for pretty much everyone. There is a good reason we keep coming back to this school. We learn something new each time and it's absolutely the best!

Cooking school
Maliwan Thai Cooking Class is a popular choice for those looking to learn how to cook authentic Thai dishes while in Bangkok. The class typically includes a visit to a local market where participants can select fresh ingredients with the guidance of an instructor. This family-friendly experience allows both adults and children to immerse themselves in the local culinary culture. After purchasing the necessary items, participants return to the cooking school where they are taught how to prepare four traditional Thai dishes.
A friendly and cheerful Thai chef welcomes you with a warm smile and teaches you how to prepare delicious Thai dishes entirely from scratch. The experience begins with a visit to the local food market, where you get to know the fresh ingredients — a valuable and enriching part of the day. During the cooking session, special attention is given to allergies and dietary preferences. After about two hours of cooking, you sit down to enjoy the four dishes you’ve made. Anything you can’t finish can be taken home in a doggy bag. A fantastic experience we highly recommend!

I loved my customized cooking class only for me due to my allergy to crustacean. The communication was great in accommodating my needs and timing. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Highlight of my trip to Bangkok and I highly recommended this to anyone. I will definitely plan to go back for more dishes to learn. Thank you again for enjoyable experience.

During our 5th trip to Bangkok, my husband and I decided to learn some cooking ..while browsing through classes close to Khao San road where we stayed I read these raving reviews about the classes..we were on the way back from Kanchanaburi when we called them..Mae answered and told us she will wait for us to visit although she was leaving for home , we went there to see the place where we wanted to cook..she has an amazing 6 person kitchen ..neat clean and giving cosy vibes. She helped us book seamlessly Next day we started off with market visit, shopping some groceries and off to cooking. Mae was patient and answered doubts and explained process of Thai cooking making it an easy cooking class. We cooked , sticky rice with mangoes, green paste and curry, pad Thai and Tom yum soup. Once the food was cooked we enjoyed the meal …Will always recommend Mae’s cooking class. Thanks Mae will come back to learn more

Just a plain awesome experience. Our teacher May was fun, lively and full of knowledge and her helpers always buzzing in the background keeping the experience running smoothly. We learned heaps and were a bit stunned that we were able to cook dishes that tasted so good with such ease! Highly recommend, and very central if you're in Khaosan area.

Amazing Thai cooking experience! My favourite part was the visit to the wet market to meet the sellers and learn about traditional Thai ingredients. The staff were great at making the experience fun for both cooking novices and seasoned home chefs

Amazing Thai cooking class! The instructor was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and friendly, guiding us step by step through authentic Thai recipes. The flavors were amazing, and I learned so much about traditional ingredients and techniques. The experience was fun, interactive, and left me confident to recreate these delicious dishes at home. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves Thai cuisine or wants to explore it further!
Sauzede D — Google review
We booked the Maliwan cooking class and selected four dishes ourselves from the list. It’s a great offer, since in many cooking classes the menu is fixed or choosing your own dishes is very expensive. The photos of the dishes help with the selection. The location was a bit hard to find, as it’s at the end of a very small alley and doesn’t look like a kitchen from the outside. But inside, everything is very clean and well organized. You have to take off your shoes when entering. The morning class starts with a TukTuk ride to the market. During the shopping trip, the lady explains a lot about vegetables, meat, seafood, and more. Afterwards, the four dishes are cooked in just over two hours. While one lady explains, demonstrates, and lets you taste, two other ladies prepare everything in small portions for everyone, clean up, and wash the dishes. Each person has their own stove and cooks their own portion of each dish. Afterwards, the food is eaten together — our group had a total of six people. It’s important to come hungry, as the four dishes are quite a lot of food. We were very satisfied with the cooking class. The ladies were super friendly, explained everything well, answered questions, and the dishes tasted great. We can highly recommend Maliwan.

This was my first-ever cooking class with my family, and it was such a fun and memorable experience! The class was so entertaining, and our instructors were absolutely amazing. The food we made was phenomenal honestly, one of the best Pad Thai I’ve ever had in my life. They even accommodate vegans, which was a huge plus. Overall, it was a beautiful experience from start to finish. Highly recommend!

This is an amazing Thai cooking school! If you are ever in Bangkok, this should be the first place on your bucket list. The staff is extremely friendly, kind, and funny. Plus, they give you step to step instructions on how to make authentic Thai food. The food was extremely delicious and the staff are very helpful. They explain each ingredient and where you can find them. Finally, this place is well decorated, clean, and has a nice ambiance. In the end, they give you free cooking recipes and other items.

Awesome place to learn Thai cooking. Cooking instructor Cho was very friendly. She kept us well entertained. Every dish that we prepared was worth the money spent here. For those who intend to come here I would recommend to join the morning session so that you get to walk around the market and enjoy the fresh fruits and vegetables. Looking forward to come again here.

I attended Tingly Thai Cooking School in Bangkok with Cho as our host, and it was such an amazing experience! We learned how to make authentic curry paste from scratch and cooked several delicious dishes, hot and sour prawn soup, Pad Thai, green curry, and mango sticky rice. The class was very immersive and hands-on, and Chore was such an engaging and fun host who made the whole experience enjoyable from start to finish. I highly, highly recommend this if you’re looking for something meaningful and interactive to do in Bangkok. I’ll definitely be using the skills I learned today when I get back home!

My husband and I attended our very 1st Cooking Class at Tingly Thai Cooking School. Our instructor “Song” did an AMAZING Job in educating us throughout our cooking class from heading out to the food market and grabbing all our fresh ingredients that we used to prepare our 4 dishes. Song was Superb as she guided us through the cooking process which was so much fun and easy! Song took time to take several pictures to capture all the wonderful dishes we prepared with our family members and loved ones. We had a great time meeting people from around the world. Absolutely every dish that we prepared was DELICIOUS and sang in our mouths so much FLAVOR 😍😋!! We highly recommend taking this cooking class with Song!! This has without a doubt been the Highlight of our stay in Bangkok!

Cooking class
Pink Chili - Thai Cooking School in Bangkok offers a unique cooking experience for tourists looking to learn how to prepare traditional Thai dishes. Located in On Nut, just off Sukhumvit Road, the school provides full, half-day, or express two-hour cooking classes featuring popular dishes like Pad Thai and Tom Yum Soup. The school's name is inspired by the pink chili, which is milder than the red variety and preferred by many tourists.
I had the joy (and sweat) of joining a cooking class at Pink Chili Cooking School, led by the incomparable Pimmy, who is equal parts kitchen goddess, warm host, and spice sorceress. She welcomed us with a smile and a sparkle in her eye that said, you’re about to cook something that will blow your mind. And she wasn’t wrong. We kicked off with a visit to a traditional market that was very much alive—literally. Frogs leapt. Fish flopped. The herbs sang in their baskets. I was wide-eyed and grinning like a lemongrass-scented lunatic. This was not a sanitized, tourist-safe experience. This was the real deal. Back at the school, we rolled up our sleeves and got to work: red curry paste from scratch, a silky, fragrant Tom Kha Gai, the best damn Pad Thai I’ve ever tasted (possibly because I made it), and a glorious finale of Mango Sticky Rice that made me want to cry from joy. I’m not kidding—every dish was a celebration for the senses. And Pimmy? She was gracious, intuitive, and went out of her way to accommodate my dietary needs, adjusting recipes with zero fuss and total love. Honestly, every single hot, sticky, aromatic moment was a gift. If you’re looking for an experience that fills your belly, opens your heart, and connects you deeply to Thai culture—this is it. 5/5 stars.

My fiance and I had wonderful educational class! My takeaway from the experience is the effort and care into making your own curry paste. I was willing to cut corners and be done pounding on that pestle, but our instructor Pimmy explained that the paste would not blend properly with the coconut milk. In the end, you get the delightful experience of cooking four delicious dishes and an arm workout.
Toni G — Google review
This class was so fun! We booked on Airbnb and my wife and I had a blast. We knew a little bit about cooking Thai food but we never knew how to make it from scratch. It always seemed so complicated and hard but Pimmy made it so easy and fun! We made 4 dishes (Tom Yum Goong, Panang Curry, Tamarind Shrimp, and Mango Sticky Rice). She gave us so many good tips and we went shopping for ingredients together. Do this class!!
Ruben K — Google review
We had a great time! All of the instructors were so sweet and helpful. The classroom was nice and cool, great air conditioner. We made 4 different dishes and they were all delicious. Thank you so much for sharing your talents and beautiful smiles with us. ❤️
Shai R — Google review
Pimmy is a great teacher. Cooking classes are a great way of learning about local culture. We were a group of 6 ppl from all around the world and we had fun cooking the Thai dishes. The ingredients provided are really fresh and an introduction to each ingredient is the best part. The cooking stations are really cool, the group sizes are kept small to ensure better understanding of the cooking styles. This is a must go to experience.
Anurag D — Google review
This was a lot of fun! We scheduled our visit in advance and Pink Chili did not disappoint. The instructors were friendly and just made it fun. First they walked us to a nearby market to show us the ingredients we'd be using for our meal. When we got back, we made 5 different dishes and sampled them all as we went along. They had a well laid-out kitchen and cooking area, eating and preparation area, and of course was super clean. After we left, they even gave us a printed out menu so we could make the same amazing Thai dishes when we got home. Amazing!!
Snarkyguy — Google review
We booked a cooking class with Pimmy in March 2016 and enjoyed it very much. When we got a message from Pimmy, she got cancelation for the afternoon class, we were afraid, she would cancel on us to, but instead we had a cooking class for only us TWO! How great. We went to the market, bought some stuff for the class and also for taking home and then started chopping, cooking, frying.... Pimmy and her help explained everything and were very patient with us. The food was awesome and because my friend couldn't eat it due to some stomach flue, Pimmy packed her food for us, so we could eat it the next day. Recipes are easy to understand. We are only worried, that we might not get all ingredients back at home... Thanks again Pimmy for teaching us some lovely dishes!

Pimmy was already waiting for us and we went straight to the market. She showed us around and explained what the different ingredients were. We went back to the school and started cooking. The instructions were very clear and easy and Pimmy is very funny. The food was delicious and the afternoon great! We would recommend this highly.

Immerse yourself in the vibrant flavors of Thailand by enrolling in the House of Taste Thai Cooking School. The friendly and professional team ensures a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere as they guide you through the culinary journey.
We had a group private class here with April and it was amazing! April is so nice and her teaching style is so easy going, it was like talking to a friend. She started our class with a walk through the market where she showed us fresh vegetables used in thai cuisine. Post the walk we headed to the location for the class which is in a really cute neighbourhood. The class itself is really easy to follow; you make a dish, then you get to eat it, and so on per course till you finish dessert. We really enjoyed this activity as a group and it was a great end to our Thailand trip. Thanks to April again and the other sweet staff Noun! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

This was a great experience!! I went with a group of Black expats, hosted by an organization called Adventures While Black. The hosts were epic, the chefs and crew were awesome, knowledgeable, and attentive... And obviously the food 🤤 everything was so flavorful and fresh!!! Thank you Chef April for teaching us how to make some epic dishes and for keeping it fun. I definitely recommend this experience for anyone who enjoys Thai food, it will give you a heightened appreciation for the amount of labor and love that goes into each dish!

We had Jay look after us today. She is so bubbly and friendly and taught us to do 4 amazing dishes. I have eaten a lot in Thailand over the years but have to say all the dishes we made were outstanding, not only in taste but also in presentation. Specially favourite dishes were the creamy Tom Yum Soup, Thai green curry and the mango and sticky rice. Thank you so much. We will return on our next visit. Tanya

Such a fun day! We started at the market and then took a TukTuk over to the class. They are all so sweet and their English is amazing we chatted the entire time. It’s a must do if you enjoy cooking!! The portions are perfect so you can enjoy everything you make. Jay was amazing! Make sure to check the menu because it changes everyday but I would bet all dishes are superb!!

Wow! To say that I was impressed is an understatement. Fantastic ending to our trip to Bangkok. We were looking to do something unique to the country and also have a memorable experience - this cooking class checked all the boxes and more 😊! My husband and I both suffer from food allergies (tree nuts for me and shellfish for him) and the class took this into account. I highly recommend that everyone adds this to their Bangkok vacation plans. Thanks for a great afternoon of tasty foods! Well done!

Silom Thai Cooking School offers morning classes that start with a visit to the local market, providing an opportunity to learn about Thai culture while purchasing fresh produce. The class, led by experienced teachers, focuses on preparing a five-course meal and emphasizes the traditional method of making curry paste using a pestle and mortar. Despite initial concerns about class size, the school effectively manages larger groups by dividing them across multiple locations. Participants praise the beautifully decorated and spacious facilities, as well as the informative market tour.
This was my second time at the fantastic Silom Thai Cooking School, I returned to experience the morning market visit, which I would say is the best way to do it. It's wonderful seeing the ingredients being picked and feeling the energy of the bustling market stalls. The whole experience is run seamlessly and professionally. The staff are extremely friendly and the school has a welcoming atmosphere. You get to make 5 dishes each, which you have time to sit and eat, so arrive hungry! It's a lot but they are so delicious it's easy to finish every bit! At the end of your class you get a little token gift to take home, and a recipe book too which includes the dishes you made that day. There is also a lovely array of cookery items to purchase at reasonable prices; the decor of the school is arty and homely and this is reflected in the design of the things you can buy. I have a coconut spoon at home that I use regularly. The staff go above and beyond to make this a fun and memorable experience and I highly recommend you choose this cooking school for one morning while in Bangkok.

This was our first cooking class in Thailand (although not our first cooking class ever), and overall it has been the best so far. The market tour at the beginning is super interesting and gives you a great understanding of the local ingredients. The class itself is very well organized — you learn a lot but never feel tired or overwhelmed. The dishes are really fun to prepare, and the portions are perfectly balanced so you don’t get too full and can really enjoy the whole experience. Our teacher was Mi (sorry if we spell it wrong!), and she was absolutely amazing. Highly recommended!

I enjoyed every moment of the course. The food we cooked was amazing, plenty of food for one person, so I took the leftovers home. The teacher was really fun. In the end we received a certificate with our name on it, and a few cute gifts. Best time in Thailand
Sahar J — Google review
A huge compliment to "Silom" I have been recommended this cooking school by several people and would recommend it again to anyone else. "Plane" the cooking teacher leads the class with a lot of humor and knowledge to the 5 dishes that are cooked. The presentation of vegetables and spices is very aesthetically pleasing, so you can hardly wait to start cooking. The 5 dishes are absolutely amazing in taste and everything is made from scratch. For example, we made our own massaman curry paste and then used it for our curry. At the end, you receive a certificate, a wooden spoon and a recipe book with all the recipes that were cooked on the day. I am absolutely fascinated and can recommend the cooking school 100%.

We had the best time at this Thai cooking class! Our chef, Mee, was absolutely hilarious and made the whole experience unforgettable. Not only did we learn how to cook delicious Thai dishes step by step, but we also laughed so much along the way. Mee has a great sense of humor and an amazing way of teaching – you never feel stressed, just inspired and entertained. Highly recommend this place if you want to combine authentic cooking with lots of fun!

We had been to this Thai Cooking School many times since their previous location. They were always good and we loved it. The teacher was good in communication and demonstration skills, and the assistants were helper and they all provided excellent experience to us. They had different menu and we picked the day that Tung Yum Kung was available and we could able to cook it nice and yum.

What a fantastic experience learning the ease of Thai cooking from scratch and the wonderful flavoursome meals that can be made easily at home. The teaching was wonderful the setting was beautiful and was truly a cherished experience from my journey. I was disappointed I was unable to get back for a second time on my trip.

Fantastic experience. We learnt to cook 4 dishes. Satay chicken skewer, shrimp salad, stir fried beef and chicken panang curry. Once passed the fence, we feel in a little oasis, super location, great cook, very clear in explaining all the process. Nice assistant helping out and making it all a memorable experience. I can only advise to go there if you want to cook great Thai food after vacations.. Thank you!!!

Wonderful personalized instruction. The instructor was warm and welcoming, and did a great job of walking through each of the recipes. I was given my own personal cooking station, as well as a seat at the dining table. She started in a small herb garden area, where she pointed out each of the common herbs used in Thai cooking. Then, returning to the instruction area, she then went through each of four different recipes, first cooking them herself and discussing technique and ingredients. Then I prepared each of the dishes myself. After each dish there was a pause in the class to taste and comment. The atmosphere is absolutely beautiful. It is an outdoor classroom in a covered setting, with koi pond and gardens. Very highly recommended! The cost of the class was very affordable. The quality of the instruction, and the quality of the dishes prepared, was more than worth the cost of the class itself. The next time I make my way back to Bangkok, I will absolutely sign up for another class.

My husband and I attended a Bai Pai Thai cooking class today in Bangkok, from the shopping at the exotic, open air food market to the moment we stepped from our van on to the beautiful grounds until we left, very full. The staff was fabulous. We watched our Chef prepare and cook a dish and then we each got to prepare and cook the same dish by ourselves. This made for a quality learning experience and a delightful lunch. I would highly recommend attending this cooking school.

Such a fun Thai cooking class experience! The instructors were super friendly and the space was cozy and clean. I had such a wonderful time learning how to make traditional Thai dishes especially the famous mango and sticky rice! Our instructor Ant was absolutely amazing patient, knowledgeable, and full of energy. She explained every step clearly and shared so many great tips about Thai ingredients and cooking techniques. The whole staff was incredibly kind and welcoming making the experience even more enjoyable. They made sure everyone felt comfortable in the kitchen and helped us understand the balance of flavors that make Thai food so special. By the end of the class not only did I get to enjoy a delicious meal I made myself but I also left feeling confident that I could recreate it at home. If you’re ever in Thailand and want to learn authentic Thai cooking I highly recommend taking a class with Ant and the team it’s an unforgettable experience! 🌿🥭🍚

Hands down the best experience we’ve had here in Thailand. Ant was so sweet, funny and informative, teaching us about the spices and vegetables that we would be using, how to store and prepare all of the ingredients, teaching us how to make our food with love whilst keeping the authentic flavours and being true to the culture. She was so funny and her classes were so capturing and enjoyable. We considered booking into the next class that evening but we were too full to think about more food. Couldn’t recommend enough

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had such a fun time at Sompoong Thai Cooking School! From the start, the vibe was super warm and welcoming. Our instructors, P’Nancy and P’Duaen was so energetic, funny, and engaging — she made the whole class feel easy and enjoyable, even for someone like me who’s not a pro in the kitchen. I loved how hands-on everything was. We got to prepare and cook our own dishes, and P’Nancy explained each step in such a lively and simple way. She also shared fun stories and little cooking tips that made the experience feel extra special. By the end, I was full, happy, and proud of what I made! It honestly felt less like a class and more like cooking with friends. Highly recommend joining — it’s such a great way to spend a day in Bangkok and experience Thai culture through food. 🥰🍲

A must-visit for anyone who wants to experience Thai cuisine hands-on. The instructors, especially P'Joon and P'Ant, were not only knowledgeable about Thai cooking techniques but they were also very entertaining, keeping the class lively and engaging all throughout. You also get to take home a certificate of completion and a recipe booklet where you can recreate the dishes you cooked in your own time.

Embark on a delightful culinary adventure with the Arun Thai Cooking experience, where you can immerse yourself in the vibrant flavors of Thailand. Begin your journey with an exhilarating tuk-tuk ride to a local market, where you'll select fresh ingredients for your cooking class. Under the expert guidance of Khruu June, who shares her extensive knowledge of both food and history, you'll learn to prepare iconic dishes like tom yum soup, pad Thai, and mango sticky rice.
My family and parents joined a Thai cooking class and parents first trip to Thailand. Even though we were late, they still took us to the market, so we could enjoy a market tour. And it was my parents’ first time trying Thai food, and they had a lot of fun. Also when mom did stomachache during the class, they kindly gave her some medicine. We brought our child, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The facility was clean and modern. We would love to join again when we visit Thailand.thank you so much !!!

We had a fantastic class with Juney! The market experience, including a ride in a Tuk Tuk, was great. We also learned four delicious dishes: Pad Thai, Curry Chicken, Tom Yum, and mango sticky rice. After the session, we accidentally left an earring there, but Juney even proactively reached out to arrange the pickup. I highly recommend this cooking school and the cooking class experience.

Absolutely amazing experience. The trip to the food market was so interesting and informative - a proper local market and not touristy. The cooking class was excellent and learnt so much about Thailand and food and how to cook the dishes in just a morning. One of the best things I did in Thailand. The food was delicious and the teaching was fantastic. Advise getting a bolt bike there or the train as you want to make sure you are there on time and don’t miss the market trip.

This was easily the highlight of our trip to Bangkok! We enjoyed every part of this class, from the local market tour, where we got to try snacks from different street vendors, to learning about the ingredients that go into delicious Thai food. That alone was an amazing experience! Our guide was very experienced and taught us lots of cooking tips to try at home. We got to cook four different dishes and everything tasted amazing!! We were sooo full by the end! Super worth it for the price. Everything was also prepared very neatly and cleanly, and they even gave us recipes to cook at home. Very pleased with my first cooking class experience and would highly recommend anyone that’s visiting BKK to try this out! 👍🏻

June our instructor is very knowledgeable and is passionate about teaching us about Thai cuisine and the history behind which makes everything more relevant and interesting. We had lots of fun cooking and eating the delicious food after, 3 dishes and a dessert. I would not hesitate to recommend attending the Arun Thai Cooking Class when you are in Bangkok.

We were feeling a bit bored after spending several days in Thailand and wanted to try something new, so we signed up for a cooking class—and we’re so glad we did! The staff here were incredibly welcoming, and our instructor, Jane, took us on a trip to a local market to buy fresh ingredients, which was a great experience as it's not something tourists often get to do. Back in the studio, we not only learned how to cook delicious Thai dishes but also got to hear fascinating stories about the history of Thai cuisine and the background of the ingredients we were using. The guide was detailed, and the whole process was so fun and engaging. The best part? We didn’t have to clean up afterward! Overall, it was an amazing experience with great food, friendly staff, and an opportunity to see a more authentic side of Thailand. Highly recommend!

Amazing Thai cooking class! Everything was spotless, beautifully presented, and perfectly organized. We prepared all the dishes ourselves – and it turned out to be the most delicious Thai meal we’ve had on our trip! A fun, tasty, and enriching experience – highly recommended! 🌸

Excellent cooking class! Khun Kung is a very good host and teacher. The whole cooking experience was light, fun and the food was amazing. One of the most enjoyable experiences I’ve ever had while traveling! From the moment we met up with our brilliantly knowledgeable and remarkably friendly instructor (Naam or น้ำ) to the very end, my partner and I were fully engaged and enjoying ourselves. This is usually not our kind of thing, but it’s the thoughtful way everything was presented, taught, and shared that made this an unforgettable half day. We learned so much about Thai cuisine, Thai produce, history & culture—and my partner happens to be Thai! As intermediate amateur chefs ourselves, this cooking class couldn’t have felt more empowering, educational, or entertaining. This exceeded our expectations beyond imagination and we were so sad to have it come to an end. If you’re on the fence on whether or not you should book this (like we were) trust us: DO IT!! It was a memorable, magical experience that even brought my partner and I closer together. We cannot wait to put these skills to practice!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, NAAM!

Chef LeeZ Cooking Class Bangkok and market tour is a top choice for those looking to learn Thai cooking. The class sizes are small, ensuring personalized attention from the experienced chef. Participants have raved about the incredible dishes they learned to make from scratch, including coconut milk and cream. The class also includes a visit to the market to explore ingredients firsthand.
She's the best for a reason! A real hands on experience where you get to cook (and eat!) all your favorites and learn about different variations. Chef Lee is lovely and knowledgeable, the space is clean, air conditioned, bright and comfortable. Class took a little over 4 hours and we made more dishes than I can count+ snacks. Come hungry.

We had a great time with Chef Leez. We learned how to prepare traditional Thai dishes from start to finish. They were the best Thai dishes we’ve ever had. Chef Leez answered all our questions and took the time to explain each step, especially how to make coconut milk and cream the traditional way 🥥. Thank’s Grand ma

A beautiful experience! Chef explained everything so well and cooked a lot of traditional thai foods. For me as student in cookery it was an amazing day to do everything from scratch amd enjoy thai cuisine! Thank you so much!

The dishes we made were absolutely incredible. Some of the best, if not THE best, that I had in Thailand. Chef LeeZ is so passionate about food and Thai cuisine. She is an excellent educator and explained techniques more than other classes I've been to, so I walked away a better cook and more knowledgeable about Thai cooking traditions, techniques, and ingredients. I was lucky to get a small class but considering the quality of the class, I'm sure it's usually very busy so I reccomend booking early!
Sonia T — Google review
Our day with Chef Lee was the highlight of our trip. This is the best Thai cuisine you will have in Bangkok. Great for all levels, my husband went to French cooking school and I find cooking to be intimidating. Class was well paced, with both instruction and eating each dish while hot/fresh from the wok. Echoing the sentiments of previous reviews, everything was made from scratch with fresh ingredients. Have you ever thought about where coconut cream, chili paste/oil or tamarind sauce comes from…besides from a jar? Chef Lee easily teaches hands-on how to make all of these ingredients, that you will use in your dishes throughout the day. She trained in the US and is well travelled, she was very knowledgeable on ingredients we could likely source back home. As for logistics, don’t let the distance be a second thought. We stayed in Thonglor, it was easy to get a Grab both to and from class. Book this class and bring your appetite!

- My mother and I did Chef Leez Thai cooking class in Bangkok. This was the best cooking class I have ever done. The food was absolutely AMAZING! We learned to make everything from scratch- even coconut milk and cream. We went to the market before the class to try fruits and see the ingredients we would be cooking with. Chef Leez taught us how to use everything and start from scratch. The food tastes SO good. This was the best Thai food I had in Thailand BY FAR. It ended up being just me and my mom so we lucked out. This is a must do experience in Bangkok and was a highlight of my trip to Thailand. I now know how to make amazing Thai food at home. Thank you for such a great class!!!

When in Bangkok, one cannot miss trying out the famous mango sticky rice. This traditional Thai dessert features sweet, ripe mango paired with savory, coconut-flavored sticky rice topped with creamy coconut sauce. The dish has gained global popularity and is a must-try for anyone exploring Thai cuisine. Visitors rave about the delicious flavors and friendly service when enjoying this delectable treat.
Sweet with a touch of savory taste from the sticky rice. The mango smoothie was a pleasant surprise as well. Bonus points for the ghetto atmosphere. Really brings me back to those childhood snack moments.

This papaya salad is amazing! As well as very tasty Larb Moo (pork salad) and Nam Tok (pork waterfall meat) accompanied with sticky rice. Very friendly owners, great service!

Delicious everything! The pork with the dip, the papaya salad, the catfish is also very easy to eat (just watch for bones). I think we paid 170 baht total. Order at the counter and then sit down, pay after. Mention if you want to papaya salad to be spicy. There are some cute neighbourhood cats to watch. Be nice to these owners please! Thank you thank you to them.

Flea & Street Markets
Pak Khlong Talat, also known as Bangkok Flower Market, is a bustling and spacious market that offers an extensive variety of flowers, fruits, vegetables, and spices. Open 24 hours a day, the market provides a vibrant sensory experience with its colorful displays and fragrant scents. Visitors can witness locals skillfully preparing sacred temple offerings such as delicate lotus blossoms and fragrant jasmine garlands.
A Floral Wonderland Beyond Just a Market This isn’t just a flower market—it’s a vibrant, sensory experience where both locals and tourists come to source stunning blooms and exquisite arrangements. With an incredible variety of flowers on display, everything looks impeccably fresh and beautifully presented. Beyond the visuals, the scents of blossoms fill the air, making it the perfect escape from the sweltering heat outside. Strolling through the market feels almost meditative, a refreshing retreat from the bustling city streets. Conveniently located near several major tourist attractions, it’s well worth a visit—not just for the flowers but for the unique, atmospheric charm it brings to Bangkok.

As part of the booked biking tour, we went here. The market was very busy outside and inside. There are so many sellers arranging and selling flowers. The candles are a must buy for 10 baht a piece. The ones in coconut shells are 25 baht. The best seafood noodles we tried is in random cart who prepared it for us. We parked our bikes inside the market as we went around by foot. There's so much to do, see, and eat here.
Lia_ph — Google review
You must visit this flower market. It's absolutely stunning – beautiful and magical, with flowers everywhere. We visited during the Songkran festival. There are a lot of orchids in different colors and varieties. Lilies are beautiful. I think they offer flowers as offerings to Buddha. You can take about an hour to explore the alleys in the flower market area.

If you’re looking for a vibrant, authentic Bangkok experience, head to Pak Khlong Talad at night! This 24-hour flower market offers fresh flowers at amazing prices and a chance to see the rhythm of real local life. The colors, scents, and atmosphere are unforgettable — plus it’s a fantastic spot for late-night photography! Pro tip: Bring cash, wear comfy shoes, and don’t be shy to chat with the friendly vendors! Definitely one of the best hidden gems in Bangkok.

Paste Bangkok, a renowned restaurant in the Thai culinary scene, offers a unique dining experience with its royal and creative Thai cuisine. Led by chef couple Jason Bailey and Bee Satongun, the establishment showcases authentic high-end Thai dining that has earned them a Michelin star. With a focus on original flavors and textures, the menu features innovative dishes based on recipes from 1870-1930.
Paste is hands down one of the most mind-blowing and awe-inspiring restaurants I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting. From start to finish, every aspect of the experience was nothing short of spectacular. The chef’s ability to craft dishes with such unique, bold flavors that still complement each other perfectly is truly impressive. It’s no wonder the reservation process is a challenge—this restaurant has earned its stellar reputation in the culinary world. I highly recommend trying just about everything on the menu—seriously, you can’t go wrong. From the appetizers to the entrees and even the desserts, each dish is not only a visual masterpiece but also a delight to the taste buds. The quality of the food is matched only by the exceptional customer service, which makes for a truly unforgettable dining experience. If you haven’t been to Paste yet, what are you waiting for? We left completely in awe and I honestly can’t recommend this place enough. It’s the kind of place where both the food and the service are so perfectly in sync, it’ll leave you wondering how they manage to pull it off. Definitely worth every baht.

Every now and then we all need to experience something unique like a tasting menu. Paste has a very nice posh atmosphere and the outdoor view at night is really amazing. The service is great. The staff was always very attentive, took the time to explain each dish, answered any of my questions, and was very friendly. The food was great and very satisfying. What I really enjoyed is how every dish is unique, but you can tell how each dish is built on the foundation of traditional Thai cuisine. A very unique and enjoyable experience.
Mario L — Google review
The service stood out the most at Paste. From the very beginning we had the most attentive service from our waiters. I really enjoyed our dining experience. We were offered complementary starters and dessert from the chef which felt very special. We ordered the beef Hang Lay curry and crab omelet. The beef was falling apart to perfection. I enjoyed the crab omelet but I would not order it again. I also love how private our booth was, it felt like we were dining completely alone.
Innika Z — Google review
What a beautiful and stunning restaurant. They even had a little stool for my bag to sit on, which I thought was a cute touch. We had a group of 4 and did the tasting menu with the lobster add-on. Definitely worth the money for the whole experience. It ended up being about $200 USD/person, which isn't cheap for Thailand, but compared to most Michelin experiences you could get in the States, it's considerably affordable, especially when you consider all the food and drink we ended up having. I loved the inventive takes on Thai dishes in small bites and the different textures. Also appreciated that the menu revolved around rice. Everything was delicious to me, personally. I know there were some textures my friend wasn't a fan of, but the flavors still delivered. The drinks were just as great as the food. I had THE BEST mocktail ever here – The Emerald – which has pandan, Asian citron, lime juice, and ginger ale. I loved it so much that I have my bartender husband recreate a close version for me frequently back at home lol!

Although this establishment intimidates the casual diner, I encourage those with the fine taste and generous budgets to enjoy a unique diner at Paste. This restaurant showcases professional table waiting and beautiful presentation. The dishes are unique and you’ll have fun trying the appetizers and cocktails.

Food was not exemplary. There are many other good fine dining restaurants in BKK you could enjoy with fraction of the cost. Not Micheline but equally good if not better. Go ahead only if you’re after the experience. Staff were attentive and at least they try their best to present the dish well. If unclear, you can always read on the description on the menu.

Thiptara, the Thai restaurant located at The Peninsula Bangkok hotel, offers a delightful dining experience with its great food and attentive service. The attention to detail is evident in small gestures such as trimming fresh coconut meat and providing mosquito spray. The combination of modern influences with authentic Thai cuisine creates an amazing culinary experience. The elegant and clean presentation of the food adds to the overall appeal.
We had a SENSATIONAL team dinner last night at Thiptara! Firstly, the venue is stunning as it hugs the side of the river and sheltered by beautiful trees. Service was phenomenal and I don’t think my glass was ever empty. Finally, the food served as part of a set menu was incredibly delicious. We worked our way through all courses and could not fault a single one

Excellent, beautiful table under the Banyan Tree tripped in lanterns by the river. Wonderful welcome by friendly staff. Starters amazing, main course of duck leg curry and beef green curry spectacular if slightly lite on the beef..... Highly recommend

We had a delightful diner in Thiptara Thai restaurant, the food is exquisite, the view beautiful ( I do not recommend the 1st row on the river but 3rd row or what they call inside - which is under local cabana open air ). Miss Tuk in the restaurant was the best , not only professionally experienced but also genuine smile, caring , gentle effortless. Pad Thai is delicious as well as the sharing starter plate

Pictures cannot really describe entirely the full experience my bf and I had today. Thiptara is what I would define the epitome of the Authentic Thai cuisine. The atmosphere was wonderful and relaxing, the staff welcoming and friendly, in particular Biw who we had the pleasure to be served by today. I have gluten and lactose intolerance, Biw made sure the food was right for me and equally delicious. The selection of dishes we order was on point, starting with the mango salad, spicy as we like, my very first crab curry (which I’ll definitely won’t forget) , the beef and the dessert, Red Ruby Water Chestnut Dumpling with Young Coconut Sauce, recommended to us by Biw which was refreshing and delicious. We also had the immense pleasure to meet the chef and personally thank for the opportunity to try her delicious food! We will definitely be back. ขอบคุณ ค่ะ 🙏

Fantastic experience from start to finish! The food was delicious, and the service was attentive and friendly. The cherry on top was the complimentary coconut gelato with candlelight on my birthday - what a lovely touch! The riverside location added a serene ambiance, making it an unforgettable evening. Definitely recommend for special occasions or just a nice night out!
Freixenet C — Google review
The dishes are all above average—tasty and visually appealing, though none are particularly outstanding or worthy of top ratings. This outdoor restaurant is part of The Peninsula Bangkok, situated right by the river, with background music featuring guzheng performances, creating a calm and pleasant atmosphere. The service is attentive as well. Both the Mandarin Oriental and Shangri-La, located across the river, also have similar riverside restaurants.

Its the restaurant inside the Peninsula Hotel. Very beautiful, you can sit right next to the river. Food was good, not the best. Expensive for Thailand but for a spot like this its expected! Paid 3000 bth for 2 persons. Service is EXCELLENT!
Maude M — Google review
Food was OK, Atmosphere is really good, just located by the river. But service needs to be improved. Whenever the next course comes, you have to remind the team that you need cutlery or fill up the water etc. There should be close follow up by the team for such cases, but the service we got was below the standards in same range of places around.

Restaurant
Nestled in the vibrant streets of Silom, Hai Som Tam Convent is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Isaan cuisine. This beloved eatery serves up traditional dishes that are sure to tantalize your taste buds. The star of the show is undoubtedly their Som Tam, or green papaya salad, which combines fresh ingredients like shredded papaya, tomatoes, and crunchy peanuts with a perfect blend of sweet and spicy flavors.
This is my favorite Esan and Thai restaurants in Bangkok. The papaya salad (somtum) is always great and they have riceberry sticky rice as well as the normal white. I usually have the pork salad with chilli's and basil but tonight I'm having the sliced pork neck and it is so tender delicious. Thai food at its best. Great location as well, right in Silom center and the staff are friendly and helpful.
Joey B — Google review
I visited here since I was young. This place is a northeastern cuisine which is adapted to suit Bangkok people and international travelers. Definitely Somtum (papaya salad) is a must have, then I recommend the larb pladook (catfish salad with Thai herbs), grilled chicken is a balance of soft, tender, and not too greasy. Corn salad with salted eggs is fantastic too! No parking at the restaurant but you need to park at either Park Silom or Liberty Builiding.
Pui T — Google review
The food was delicious and the staff were lovely — great service. However, the atmosphere was not enjoyable because some customers didn’t control their children. They were running around and making loud noises inside the restaurant, which was quite annoying. Other than that, everything else was good.

Tossakan Thai Curry House (Khaosan) is a charming eatery located in a parallel street to the famous Khao San Road. The restaurant offers delicious and authentic curry dishes that are worth trying. Omg talk about amazing! My family is pretty picky when it comes to Thai food (we are Thai, after all) so I had hoped this place would impress them, especially since we were going to Khao San where only foreigners go. This place was worth it and spicy!!!! But flavorful. Our favorite dishes were actually the papaya salad and especially the one with mango. The place is two stories so be careful walking up the stairs. Overall an amazing place to eat.
Kimme B — Google review
I’ll be honest, I came because I saw this place on Instagram, and my alarm bells initially went off when I saw how much the street it was on felt like a line of tourist traps. Luckily, the restaurant, its staff, and the food, ended up all being delightful. It’s far from being an Anthony Bourdain, off-the-beaten-path hole in the wall for locals; but it’s delicious and fragrant Thai food at a reasonable price, made by nice people in what seems like a family business. I would absolutely come back because my sea bass green curry was fire. 🤌🏼

Restaurant
Som Tam Jay So is a renowned Isaan restaurant in Bangkok, located in Silom. It's highly regarded for its authentic and pungently powerful Isaan flavors. The restaurant offers a variety of dishes such as grilled chicken wings, beef laab, and jungle green papaya salad that are known for their sour, spicy, and fiery flavors.
The friendly staff gave us English order slip. We just tick what we want and waited a short while. Grilled chicken wings was flavorful, grilled pork neck was very very tender and nice, grilled pork neck in salad was a nice surprise. The salad is mixed in mint leaves, etc and grilled pork neck. It was really delicious! We also ordered the mango salad and papaya salad. The papaya salad was not as sour and spicy as the mango salad. Both are different. The excitement comes when the heat from the chilli comes after a few bites. Even the chilli condiments was fantastic. Luckily we ordered a bottle of water with lots of ice. The chef is worthy of the title, Iron chef!!
Sheue N — Google review
The bbq chicken was tender and moist on the inside and surprisingly crispy on the outside, the meat is very flavourful, well marinated. Easy to order using the English order sheet, place is quite warm and small, but staff are helpful speaking limited English. The lady boss whom I think took part in iron chef speaks English so feel free to check with her. The lotus salad is unique and fun to eat and cuts thru the oiliness of the grilled meat. Overall, a good place to visit for local meal but prepare wet tissue and fan.

Som Tam Jay So is an absolute gem for authentic Isaan flavors! We loved it so much that we came back three days in a row. Their Som Tam Thai is perfectly balanced with spice, sweetness, and tang. The grilled pork neck (Kor Moo Yang) was tender and flavorful, and the larb moo had just the right kick. If you want real Thai food. This is the spot .
Nathan C — Google review
Fantastic food. The BBQ chicken and Som tom are very delicious. Very busy due to its popularity among both locals and tourists. I knew it was the right place as the famous food vlogger (Mark Weins) was eating there at my time of visit.
Jeff G — Google review
Fantastic Isaan food and great atmosphere. Really cool lady making the som tam. Located in a back alley. Go for the smell of grilled chicken
Mathias H — Google review
The English menu had no price listed. Ordering one grilled chicken wing, one thigh, and a papaya salad with grilled pork neck needed up costing us 220 baht when another reviewer said 4 wing plus pork neck plus a papaya shrimp salads cost 240 baht. The grill is next to the dining tables so the place is extra hot. There are ants and flies all over the place. The owner had no intention of showing the actual bill at the end either. I’d recommend avoiding this place, total scam
Peter W — Google review
We have been wanting to go here for years and tried it - friendly owner, BUT THE RATS WERE RUNNING ALL OVER AND THE OWNER AND EVEN THE CAT UNDER MY TABLE DID NOT CARE! The rats were looking at our eyes like we were bothering them. Well my apetite was lost and we had to leave the food and get the heck out. Many more great places to eat in Bangkok without feeling like you are eating in the city garbage dump!
Gihan — Google review
I liked the local vibe and the food here as the flavours were spot on food but the service was chaotic which affected the overall experience. I arrived just before 12pm when it was busy with locals. The ordering process was a little confusing but I was given a paper to mark my order. The chicken wings arrived quickly but the papaya salad took 50 minutes which was frustrating and I had to follow up many times. Despite the delays, the wings were perfectly cooked and the som tam was spicy yet well balanced.

Pad Thai & Tom Yum 2 is a must-visit spot in Bangkok for an exceptional culinary adventure. The warm and welcoming atmosphere, along with the attentive service, enhances the dining experience. The Pad Thai is bursting with flavors and includes an abundance of vegetables, offering a delightful twist on the traditional dish. Meanwhile, the Tom Yum soup delivers a spicy and tangy sensation that leaves a lasting impression.
If you want authentic Thai food, great service, and value pricing, this is the place. The location of the spot is tucked away on the right side of the long alley. The owner is very friendly and has great hospitality. He was very generous giving me watermelon while I waited for my food to be ready. I ordered the chicken pad Thai and it was delicious. After my meal he surprised me with mango sticky rice, which was the best I’ve had so far in Thailand. Not only that, but he is generous in all his portions. After paying for the meal and thanking him again, he even sent me on my way with bottled water to-go. Truly a great person and very caring man.

We had to come here based on the reviews and I’m so happy we did. The owner is beyond generous with his many free items he gave to us. We had the Som Tom, chicken pad Thai, minced pork with basil and it was all so delicious! The mango sticky rice was the best I’ve ever had. There are drawings all over the walls and with the many fans going it was very comfortable. We will be going here again and I encourage all to bless your bellies with this food and bless the pockets of this kind, hard working small business. Thank you!!

The staff/ owners are exceptionally welcoming. Amazing food and service. I asked for the Tom Yum soup without meat and they gladly served me a vegetarian version. So if you're vegan or vegetarian do ask if they can make a dish without the meat. I also asked for rice with tom yum - not sure if they generally serve it with or without rice. Before my order arrived they gave me a free plate of mango sticky rice. The owner/ staff loudly said "WELCOME TO THAILAND!" with a big smile. The food was delicious. Tom yum was incredible and the mango sticky rice was probably the best I've had, yet at least. The portion was more than generous - I almost couldn't finish my food. I think they also charged me less for food with no meat. Overall a great experience. Awesome food, very welcoming people. Will definitely try to eat there again.

The Pad Thai, Tom Yum soup and Fried Morning glory at Pad Thai and Tom Yum 2, is the best 400 Baht you can spend in Bangkok. An absolutely delicious meal only surpassed by the service. Ice and drinking water provided on arrival, free sliced fruit Pineapple/Melon whilst waiting for your order and free Mango and sticky coconut rice as you finish your main dish!!! The unassuming exterior and owner/server make the restaurant an even more authentic experience. The interior is covered with notes of thanks from customers from all around the globe. What a find, I've been twice in 2 days but must leave Bangkok and this diamond mine behind.

I came to try this place just because its near my hotel, but turned out I find one of the best mangoo sticky rice I ever try in Bangkok!! The owner is very nice cause that mangoo sticky rice is just a free food that he gives along with a plate of fresh pineapple when I only order pad thai and tom yum.. Their pad thai is so yum as well..I decide to come back on my last day before I leave Bangkok to have pad thai and mangoo sticky rice again. The price is very cheap as well. Definitely recomended!👍

Chance upon this place and I was in a search of Pad Thai. Love this place! Portion is huge and I’m just thankful for the boss’ hospitality because we pack the omelette and he gave us a rice to go with and condiments. And still gave us 2 bottles of cold mineral water. I definitely will come back here because it’s really home cooked feels. Pad Thai: loads of vegetables + not too sweet Omelette: full of ingredients inside and it’s fluffy Mango sticky rice: fresh mango and warm sticky rice Loving it!

Hands down the best restaurant in Bangkok!! We ate here every night we were in Bangkok. The food was always delicious and the service even better! The owner was kind and generous every time we were there. Any meal can be made without egg or meat so vegan and vegetarian options are available here. Honestly the best Tom Yum I’ve had in Thailand!! I cannot recommend Pad Thai & Tom Yum 2 enough!

THAIBAHT ตึกแดง offers cooking classes where you can pay in cash (Thai Baht) or credit card (+3%) at the end of the class. It's also a great spot for dinner and drinks after a day of vintage shopping, with a recommendation for their watermelon ice blend. The atmosphere is pleasant with outdoor seating to catch the sunset, and the prices are moderate.
Everything is good. Shrimp is fresh and spicy! Pork is frickin good - high recommend that. Fried chicken is good as well.
Janet C — Google review
Food is decent, vegetarian and vegan options available, nice sitting area. We ordered vegan Tofu Mushrooms with rice and Chicken wings. The tofu mushrooms were delivered without mushrooms, but broccoli and it was still good but not what it said on the menu. And the chicken wings were more chicken lollipops. Way to expensive for what you actually receive

We had a very nice shopping break at that place. The drinks were good and cold and the food was prepared quickly and it was very tasty as well. The place has a very unique and vintage feel to it.

ThaiBaht at DD Mall (Red Building) has lots of potential to be a great space to hang out. Due to its antique style decor and eye catching ambient. However, this brings down to a 2 out of 5 stars is mainly because one of co-owner (woman) at the counter wasn't really much paying attention to myself. Have to wait to order food from the server counter for many minutes, just to have her talking/chitchatting with someone (whose not a customer, probably a colleague or next stall friends etc.). Felt like I was intentionally neglected and standing there with a menu hopelessly. Food need to be ordered and pay in-advance too prior to getting to your seats. Food also fail to lives to its expectation. Dull and tasteless. It's a pity that the place looks very vintage and built-in with lovely decor. The customer service was appalling.
Donny B — Google review
A restaurant cafe in the Red building with a good menu, coffee is reasonably priced but the food is slightly more expensive. The service level needs to be improved, the waiter is slow and absent-minded, and the serving speed is very slow

Good atmosphere and decoration. There are outdoor seats to enjoy the sunset. Prices are middle.

Perfect place to have dinner and have a good beer or cocktail after a whole day of thrift vintage shopping there. Never miss the watermelon ice bended, I have been having that for number of times of I am there on Sundays.

Restaurant
Khao Kha Moo Sai Tua Jae Ta is a popular Thai dish featuring braised pork leg served on top of white rice, often accompanied by vegetables. The meat should be tender with the right fat to meat ratio and infused with a flavorful braised sauce. This dish can be found at various street food stalls in Thailand, offering different toppings such as eggs, tofu, peanuts, and intestines.
Tried one of the best braised pork legs/knuckles in Bangkok! The broth was spot-on — just the right thickness, not too runny or heavy. It also wasn’t sweet like most Kha Moo places. Sampled everything: knuckles, meat, skin, intestines, and their special tofu. They even add peanuts to the broth, which gave it a nice twist. It’s not possible to request for no peanuts, so if you’re allergic, this place is not for you. Limited seating.
B J — Google review
A famous braised pork leg rice restaurant has a unique signature—adding peanuts to the broth, giving it a rich, savory flavor. The pork is tender, the tofu is fragrant and firm, and the rice is soft and perfectly cooked. Overall, it’s a great spot to enjoy a satisfying meal. The restaurant has recently moved again and is now located across from the Chinese shrine. Prices start at 60 baht. Seating is limited, but there’s usually no long queue. Come give it a try!
Vorapong P — Google review
One of the best khao ka moo that's without Michelin recommendation. Small little restaurant with limited seating specializing in only one food. Cheap and good.
Jessen T — Google review
I got the pork leg with egg and rice. The stewed pork fell apart and tasted good. A good option close to Yarowat Road which shouldn't be as busy as the road itself.
Paul E — Google review
Good taste, nothing special. portion is enough to eat street food after. Some pieces of meat were tough and dry. the intestines were delicious. Rice was dry so soak it in the gravy to soften it.
G L — Google review
The pork leg here is really good! The taste and softness of the pork leg is well done. They seemed to have moved to infront the temple down the road. Please take note when coming here!
Joshua L — Google review
Pork Trotters with peanuts here is located on Charoenkrung area. It is walkable from MRT Mangkon (Dragon) Station. The place has been around for sometime and it is known for pork trotters with peanuts. The soup is flavourful and the peanuts does add a good taste to it without being too salty. Delicate, soft and tender meat. Soft boiled eggs and pork intestine are worth a try as well. Prompt service. Reasnonale price. Closing time can be between from 3pm til 5pm, depending on how fast they sold out.
Donny B — Google review
Khao Kha Moo Sai Tua Jae Ta (A stall in Chinatown, 1 min walk from MRT Wat Mangkon) Ordered a Pork Leg & Pork Intestines with Rice. OMG! The pork leg is so fatty and full of collagen. The intestine were well clean, no porky smell at all. The sauce over the rice is perfect, neither to salty or bland. Tips: must add their chilli sauce, so damn shiok!

Tom Yum Goong Banglamphu is a renowned street-food restaurant located in Sri Kraisi, near Khao San Road in Bangkok. This local eatery is famous for its authentic and flavorful tom yum goong, a delicious shrimp delicacy that attracts customers from all over. The stall offers high-quality seafood at affordable prices and has become an institution in the area.
The foods were amazing! I came here because mark wiens recommended it, and i ordered the same foods he had. - River prawn spicy soup or Tom yum goong (THE BEST) - stir fried morning glory with crispy pork - omelette (but i didn't find any oyster in it). It's quite expensive for just omelette. Cost TBH 100 All cost TBH 380 The location is easy to find, inside a market. It's near a small Phra Arthit Port, in walking distance.

Renowned for it Tom Yum Kung. This shop's taste hasn't changed in twenty years. Been here since I was young. Tom Yum here follows authentic recipes of using traditional tamarind paste and river shrimp tomalley. This is one of the few pastes in Bangkok which is still making Tom Yum as per the original recipe. Other menus are on the average side. The pricing is reasonable. You get three big river prawns in one Tom Yum serving. If you are Tom Yum fans this is one the places I would recommend to you.
Thusnai M — Google review
Very local food restaurant on the roadside. Shaded with wood and plastic sheets, very badic tables and plastic short stools, the young servers are very welcoming in their own way. There is no staff uniform, or fancy stuff, it is just down to basic. The menus is very clear and dishes are shown in photos with description in a couple of languages. Prices are very cheap and the I would rate the food as very basic, and the fishcakes were cold and soaked with oil, but not bad in general. At least, it goes into supporting the local community.

You have to eat Tom Yum here! We came back after almost 6 years to eat this Tom Yum Soup. I really believe that it is the best Tom Yum in Thailand!! Big shrimps, thick soup! Definitely a place to eat!

An outdoor restaurant by the street which provide many tables and seats for eat in. Price wise is reasonable. I ordered sautéed vegetables with roasted pork and salted fish kai lan. Both were tasty though the pork skin was very hard, can hardly bite it using my old teeth. Payed 170baht for the 2 v Dishes + a bottled water. Recommended!

I introduced to this food stall by a fella country friend of mine who has bussiness here. Tom yum kung Banglamphu (original), I thought: every food stall would have claimed that they are the "original" one.. 🤔 BUT this vendor is really deserve to claim that.. Because their tom yum is really the MOST DELICIOUS tom yum that I ever tasted in Thailand nor out of Thailand.. The place is "just" a street vendor under a tent, but the food they provided are 5 stars hotel quality.. The portion are enough for 2-4 people (beside the rice).. The taste, especially the tom yum, is really the BEST.. And other food on the menu as well.. The owner and the staffs are friendly, helpful and proactive.. The place itself already clean enough for street vendor's criteria.. The food are all cooked by the time you order.. Though the location is in tourist area, the price is not tourist price.. As I saw many locals also ate there.. And there is no different price between English menu nor Thai's menu.. Tom yum kung is surely the master piece as it is become their name.. I highly highly recommending this vendor.. 😉
Rina R — Google review
Near Khao San Road, right by the road outside a carpark. Menu is in Thai and English, with pictures for every dish. Yummy and pretty spicy. The Tom yum goong tastes more sour and spicy, lighter than usual. Basil clams were addictive, the spiciness only stays on your tongue. Omelette is fluffy and crispy on the sides. 350 baht for 3 dishes and rice, good portion sizes. It’s always busy but they serve up fast.

Restaurant
Pak Panang Curry Shop South is a humble yet popular eatery known for its authentic southern Thai cuisine. The star of the menu is the flavorful Panang Curry, made from a paste consisting of various ingredients such as dried red chilis, garlic, shallots, coriander seed, cumin seed, and more. The restaurant offers a no-frills dining experience with pre-made curry dishes displayed in pans.
First time back at this restaurant in 3 years. Glad to see they're still in business. Nothing fancy, just good southern thai food, served curry-rice style, pre-made and displayed in pans. The popular dishes sell out quickly. Always have to order kua kling, and when in the mood, must try gaeng tai plaa (like gin, it's an acquired taste). Also always order pad sataw (stink bean) when they have it. Two dishes on rice is still 50b. Give it a try, but be careful of the heat - most food from the south is SPICY!

Cooking class
Cooking with Poo and Friends offers authentic Thai cooking classes for up to 12 people in the city slums of Bangkok. The classes include visits to local wet markets, providing a glimpse into the daily life of locals. The school is run by Saiyuud Diwong, also known as Poo, who overcame hardships to establish her business with the support of an Australian NGO and Klong Toey residents.
I was invited to join several friends who signed up for this class and I wasn't sure what to expect. However the whole experience was amazing and I highly recommend it. We met Poo at the designated stop, which was easy to get to. There was a dozen in the group, and from there we went in their van for 10 minute ride to the food market. There we split up into 2 groups to go through the market, one with Poo and one with her helpers. Poo took us through the market explaining and buying various fruits and vegetables that would be used later in the class. It's a fast paced experience and you definitely want to have on good shoes as it's a "wet" market. After loading up the van we took another 5 minute ride close to their cooking classroom. It's a short walk through a traditional set of Thai homes and the classroom is basically a converted home. While the classroom is not large it was comfortable for the whole group to site while Poo and her staff quickly prepared things to start the class. The room has AC and a clean toilet and drinks are available. Poo then started the class. She would show us how to prepare a dish and then divide up into groups to take turns repeating the steps at the front on a large long kitchen table, after which we would eat our dish and repeat the steps. Everything was very well explained and organized with almost military precision and efficiency. The dishes we did today was Som Tum Green Papaya Salad, Tom Yum Soup with Prawns, and Phad Thai Noodle. All were delicious. As a bonus at the end she had a large selection of fruits for us to sample, with descriptions of each, plus Mango sticky rice, my favorite. Overall it was a most enjoyable experience and I highly recommend it. Only very minor complaint was going through the market, Poo would start explaining about each food before everyone caught up, making it hard to get all the good information. Please try to wait a couple seconds for everyone in the group to catch up. Thank you!
Malcolm G — Google review
A must do if you are at all interested in Thai cooking. Poo and staff were so welcoming. They gave us a guided tour of the wet market where we purchased ingredients, then we were whisked by their bus to the kitchen where we were given a masterclass in preparing delicious Thai dishes. The class is in Poo's family home deep in one of Bangkok's poorer neighborhoods. It is a wonderful space which is both intimate and well equipped. Everyone there was friendly and knowledgeable. We came away having cooked and eaten a world class, four course meal. Inspiring, fascinating and motivating. I can't recommend this enough.
Dan Q — Google review
This experience allows you to visit the best market in Bangkok. Full of exotic products you wouldn’t get to see if it wasn’t for Poo. Poo is a great host full of energy and really focused on you enjoying and learning about Thai culture. I highly recommend this activity to improve your cooking skills and have a great time! Will come back!
Claudia S — Google review
The highlight of our stay in Thailand! The wet market was a unique experience that I would never have seen without a local guide. I'm happy to avoid cooking with the frogs and bugs we saw there! Highly recommend booking the morning menu for that experience alone. Do make sure you wear shoes that can take a puddle or the occasional escaped catfish flopping over them. The three dishes we cooked used some of the fresh vegetables bought from the market. They were easy to follow and delicious. Poo and her team are very warm, and it was great to hear the backstory and see the cooking studio next to Poo's childhood home supporting her local community. Don't eat before you go! You eat each dish as you make it, and it would be a shame to waste such amazing food.
Rob B — Google review
That’s was the highlight of our trip. Poo is the sweetest, giving and food knowledgable human. She is a true Thai soul representing the hospitality and kindness of her culture. Just book the course and dive into her world! Poo is an incredible human, that will touch your soul and make you want to be a better human. By doing her cooking course, you’re also support the local community.

Hands down the most satisfying cooking experience in bangkok. Poo, an internationally renowned thai chef walks you through a hands-on cooking adventure (3-4 courses). Her delightful nature and mastery of thai dishes makes for a wonderful, fun and humbling experience. You will walk away with not only some authentic recipes, but a deeper understanding and appreciation of the thai people.
Warren H — Google review
The wet market tour was the highlight for me. All I wanted to do was buy unfamiliar ingredients and start experimenting. Poo was a great instructor but any of her staff would have been great. The best part is she gives back to her community. That’s why I picked her tour. She provides scholarships for the local kids.
Brian F — Google review
Booked a morning cooking class with market visit. We were picked up in a van with air con and taken to a local market, where we walked around while the team bought some ingredients. Market is quite brutal but really interesting to see and the variety on food is incredible. After a walk around we got back in the van and taken the the cooking school. Poo demonstrated 3 dishes, one at a time, and we each had a chance to cook all 3 and eat what we cooked! They provide containers in case you want to take anything away as it’s so much food. At the end we were given different fruits bought at the market to try and sticky mango rice. You get given the recipes to take home and can buy the recipe book and some other bits if you like. An amazing experience, very well organised and super educational. The school isn’t in a touristy area and it’s a good way to see the other side of Bangkok. Poo and her team really support their neighbourhood and other local businesses with the school, such amazing work!

Amazing cooking experience!! Highly recommend to go in pairs or a group, not only you can taste others cooking but also got a few more hands for the photos. Those dishes are favourite Thai food and are not too complicated to follow (...much more relaxed than imagine), so it is for everyone! Apart from a little drama (late pick up due to heavy traffic, I guess it's welcome to Bangkok) in picking up from BTS station, the whole user experience was five stars. They will place you on the top floor to enjoy your cooking and cocktail on the rooftop next to the swimming, somewhat meaningful way to spend our afternoon. By the way, it is not a long walk from BTS to the venue.

The host, Mam, provides end-to-end service by even picking up guests from the train station and guiding them through a unique experience of Bangkok.
Owner: Mam is a very friendly person. My wife booked the cooking class with her online, and met her at Samrong Market. The class was very detailed and she also shared recipe after that. A very dedicated chef. She also help explain in great detail while preparing the ingredients, down to the detail about how to wash the glutinous rice and how to steam it. She also speaks english well. Highly recommended.

I booked a class for 5 people last week, and the entire process from the initial process to the actual class was fuss-free and replies were very prompt. The host Mam reached out to confirm the meeting details and also checked if there were any specific dishes that we wanted to cook. For the actual class, Mam was very adaptable to our various needs, and was very patient in teaching us the finer details of the process. The results turned out much better than expected, especially for people who don't cook much. It turned out to be a very homely meal which warmed our hearts, especially so as we were using a residential property for the class (as compared to commercial kitchens in other schools).

We thoroughly enjoyed learning to cook authentic Thai cuisine. After shopping for our fresh ingredients, Mam welcomed us to her kitchen where we prepared three wonderful dishes, and Mango Sticky Ruce for desert! This was one of the highlights of our trip!

I received a virtual cooking class by Mam at My Thai Cooking as a gift. It was a fantastic experience!!! She is a great chef and will turn YOU into one too! Her recipes and instructions are easy to follow and lead to absolutely delicious results! If you're thinking it might be fun to learn to cook some authentic Thai dishes, sign up for one of her classes, you'll love it! During these times where international travel is challenging, she does a great job of bringing a fun cultural experience into your own kitchen!

End to end great service and even better food. My partner and I enjoyed a private session. We made three amazing and authentic Thai dishes. I am en experienced chef and I walked away with an all new skillet and some new recipes under my belt. Mam picked us up at the train station and we got to see a part of Bangkok that most tourists will miss. As soon as we got in the car Mam asked us what we wanted to make. We weren’t stuck with the obvious choice like Pad Thai (though that was an option) and we were able to venture out a bit. Lots of laughs, we learned so much, and we feasted! 10 out of 10!

What a experience! We did 3 dishes with Mam last evening that were absolutely delicious! Mam is a very skilled chef that takes the time to show and explain each step of preparation and cooking of the dishes. Mam will send you a list of all ingredients and instructions to prepare meats that require being marinated and answers all questions quickly. So awesome to eat authentic Thai dishes which brought back great memories of Thailand from a visit there a number of years ago. This service provided by Mam makes a great gift to a loved one or to yourself! Enjoy😊😊😊

We did a private online cooking class with Mam as a family pandemic event. We had some people in Canada & US (cooking for lunch), some people in Europe (cooking for an early dinner), and Mam in Thailand of course — pretty late for her! We did one main dish (crispy fish with Thai herbs) and one dessert (mango and sticky rice). We loved our dishes; everything was delicious and it was especially interesting, as non-Thai people, to learn new techniques and about new ingredients (& to go exploring Asian grocery stores ahead of time to do the ingredient prep). Mam was patient, fun, and adaptable to different levels of preparation of our group. Be aware that the time duration listed on the website when you book is just a guess — we went significantly over with our two dishes, which was great for us but hopefully also okay for Mam…!

When you find yourself wandering the vibrant streets of Yaowarat Road in Bangkok's Chinatown, make sure to indulge in the incredible offerings at GSB STREET FOOD. This bustling area is a haven for street food lovers, especially known for its phenomenal rice noodles with chicken and shrimp. Just hop on the MRT to Wat Mangkon station, but be mindful to plan your visit on days other than Monday when many vendors take a break.
Busy street side food stall - plenty of tables and stools. Food tasty, great service, reasonable prices. Would recommend!

Great cooking class for everybody who wants to know more about thai kitchen. The class was located in the Yodpiman Flower Market which offers a nice walk after the workshop. What Po with the reclining Buddha is only 10 minutes walk away. I took the cooking class in the morning and did sightseeing in the afternoon. Great way to get out the most of your time. Chef Tum was a great teacher. He told us a lot of interesting things about the the kitchen and ingredients. As he worked several years in Australia his english was easy to understand. I specially loved the location we class was hosted. We also went through the flower market and was amazing to see all the flower they were preparing for the buddhism day.

Amazing experience! The class is right there at the flower market. You get the chance to cook delicious food with all the vendors and their colorful flowers on the background. It's just perfect! And don't get me started on the food! It was amazing. We cooked many dishes and every single one was amazing. I even discovered a new favorite! On top of that, we learned how to replace ingredients when we cook everything back at home (which is very useful!). We asked the chef for extra recommendations and she gave us lots of great tips on which dishes to order, what to try, what to avoid. She was super kind and warm and patient with us all. Then the market tour was amazing, we learned many things about thai culture, its history and traditions. We loved every second of it. Highly recommended!

We booked a cooking class for a group of friends (7), had a fantastic experience! The lesson was very well prepared and orchestrated, we picked some ingredients at the market with the cooking master. The cooking class is on the higher level of the market with a nice view in it. The cooking master was charming and flexible. I highly recommend this experience to foodies!

When exploring the delightful culinary landscape of Southeast Asia, one must not overlook the charming combination of coffee and fried bananas. This duo offers a unique experience where the rich, aromatic notes of freshly brewed coffee perfectly complement the warm, crispy sweetness of golden-fried bananas. The contrast between the robust flavor of coffee and the soft, caramelized texture of bananas creates a harmonious balance that is both comforting and indulgent.
