I was not disappointed. There are numerous places to park on the road side (free). The forest comprises of multiple paths going in different directions and you will find bridges, walkways, ponds, streams and ample benches. There is a lake near the Aviary with swans, ducks & Canadian geese. Many of the pathways are tarmac or flattened and easy to walk along. Some are pram friendly but others may not be, depending on the weather. There is a park within the forest for children and the surrounding trees should provide some cover from sun or rain. The loopline towards Roe Green (approx. 1km) could take you as far as Walkden. The opposite way will take you to Monton (1.8km). This is a wide tarmac walkway, suitable for prams, dogs and bikes. I wouldn't say wheelchairs, as I saw steps at Monton and various other spots that lead onto the loopline. I followed a pathway down from the Monton loopline which took me to Alder Forest and walked back up to the loopline, for a change of scenery.
