It's a wonderful, quiet place. All are welcome. A unique marriage of Hindu tradition with Christian culture is seen in the installation of "Dhwaja Stambha" (Kodimaram in Tamil) in front of the church. The symbolic pole is seen largely in all Hindu temples in South India. Loved exploring the place.

The statue is marvellous and it’s quite near to the Rock beach. But, sadly the garden is private property and visiting isn’t allowed. However, the celestial view of statue compensates it completely.

The statue is visible from a distance, but as it is on a private property, one can't get up close. But with a good camera one can zoom in.

We couldn't really enter the garden where it was located,it was shown that it was a private place and there was no entry. But we could view the statue from on top of the notre dame church which was located just opposite to the statue

There is nothing spectacular in the park. It is just on the beach. Nothing special about flora and fauna in the park. Joan of Arc (ca. 1412 - 30 May 1431), nicknamed "The Maid of Orleans", is considered a heroine of France and a Roman Catholic saint. She was born to a peasant family at Domremy in north-east France. Joan said she received visions of the Archangel Michael, Saint Margaret and Saint Catherine instructing her to support Charles VII and recover France from English domination late in the Hundred Years War. Today visited this beach in the afternoon. We walked from Mothers ashram till Bakers street shop. Dark blue color waters welcomed me. With monsoon to set soon the beach looked calm and composed. Boats were doing trials on this beach. With rocks on both sides, enough space to walk, get down and touch the sea waters this beach is mesmerising. Afternoon with not much harsh sweaty sun, the whole beach looked glittering amidst blue sky and dark clouds. This is my first afternoon time visit to the beach. The promenade is indeed beautiful with coconut trees swaying in breeze. Lighthouse, crafty bazaar, Pondicherry museum, art museum and park are places around to visit. There is a lactation room spot in this beach. Travellers don’t miss visiting this beach when you travel to Pondicherry.

This beach is well maintained and looks clean. Finding a parking space is a bit difficult during the festive season.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I visited the Sri Aurobindo Ashram, but I was pleasantly surprised. It’s not your typical tourist spot it’s quiet, no photography allowed, and very respectful. I learned a lot about Sri Aurobindo and The Mother. The bookshop nearby has some great spiritual and philosophical reads. Definitely worth stopping by if you’re curious about Indian spirituality or just want a break from the beach crowd.

Good to visit to see the Samadhi and come out in a few minutes. As seen in other reviews, the staff is very rude. There is a bookstore towards the exit. I switched on my phone to pay for the books, and picked a call which was urgent of my family, the staff gave me a lecture that had the management seen they would have taken my phone for 2 hours. What kind of kiddish behaviour is this? How do we pay for the books if not cash.

You have to leave your shoes across the street before entering and walk barefoot inside. The ashram is filled with beautiful flowers and a sense of calm. It’s a strictly quiet space — no talking, and phones must be turned off (there are volunteers who ensure this). There is no entry fee. The path inside is short — it takes about five minutes to walk around — but there’s a small meditation area where you can sit peacefully if you wish. The highlight for us was the library. It has a wonderful collection of books (available in many languages), including thin volumes written by The Mother from her 21-part series on yoga and life (inexpensive- INR 30 a book). They also sell lovely postcards and books made by people at the ashram — perfect as souvenirs. Overall, a serene experience — simple, quiet, and meaningful, especially if you appreciate spirituality or literature.

Mobile phones need to be switched off inside the ashram to maintain the peaceful environment. There’s also a small bookshop where you can explore or purchase books by The Mother and Sri Aurobindo.

We went to meditate in the ashram in the morning 🌅 on Sunday. Lots of people come and go. Nowadays the weather is a bit hot and there are lots of trees surrounded by nice air. The sea is also near if anybody wants them to go immediately. If anybody wants to eat breakfast 🥞 lunch or dinner they have to make tickets. mobiles are kept silent 🔕 and sleeper are kept in front of the ashram.

Worst experience. Made to sit on footpath outside since kids are not allowed inside. My son was sleeping and yet i easnt alloeed to carry him inside. Dint even provide a stool or bench for waiting outside. Very inhuman experience in name of humanity. Not expected such treatment after travelling for thousands of miles to visit pondicherry. This is definitely not Sri Aurobindo or mothers vision. Management should look into this matter.

Absolutely serene and peaceful place. A house of dravidian art and story telling. The walls of the temple are etched with paintings andre beautiful carving of all the forms of Lord Vishnu. No photography allowed inside the temple complex. You have to visit to experience this.

Needed a more concentration..... More number of buses to chennai and Nagipattinam junction has to increase. The train route has less passengers and not avail of all times, so the connectivity is mainly depend on the bus routes. Maintaince of the bustand also in average mode.

Comming to my story " we go for visit pondicherry recently we reached around 3:30 AM.all of my guys are in deep sleep.my bother and sister keeps there mobiles in charge in bustand at different places .and each looking towards the mobiles..at my brother Mobile some guys just pass in between he cross the mobile charging point mobile gone.we run and catch the person .but mobile was not with him .he already pass the mobile to someone . Just 5-Minutes delay same like some guys thift and ran .we catch him and handover to police. But my brother Mobile was missing . Just 2 hr later same place som random guy sleeps near to us ,thif silently lpt beside home try to theft this mobile which was kept in pocket .by luck we alert the person and try to catch thift but we won't. These many thifs happens the police guy who was in night shift .we inform to police guys he just scolded on us .and go to his room and sleep.morning around 6 am came near to us and asked about the mobile which was stolen night . The all these thift happens just 5 to 10 miters away from police room . We see that. Only we stay there but we lost mobile .and also have chance to see live theft.if police works seriously he have chance secure his sourindings atleast. My observations: Some two are three ganges are roming in this bustand .auto drivers are thre relatives .polices are in duty (sleep).result we lost our things by successful execution of thif plans. So guys please alert and await and aware this and make your trip happy .and enjoy .

Access to toilet is one of the worst thing to be found if you do not have cash. Atleast City like Pondicherry is expected to be convenient access to the public services. Convenient doesn't mean free but there should multiple options for payment both upi and cash for all the services as this is one of major tourist spots. Many times we may not be carry cash in hand coz 99% transactions can be done through upi these days. Thank you for considering my suggestions for betterment of public services

Frequency of Chennai buses are good. Some of auto drivers ask tips more than what we fixed at Ola and Uber.

You are allowed to attend Sunday services too :) It's a beautiful Church built with all the classic elements! It's home for us. Plenty of parking available inside the compound and outside as well. The pics taken were on Christmas Eve Mass. Was amazing feel. Heart of white town.

God's own place God's people following God's instructions. Good church choir, good singing and music. At times, some of the God's Ambassador's delivers great spiritual manna, which edifies the soul. Good Sunday, school ministry. Good, Youth ministry. Good VBS programs for kids. Good Christmas programs for kids. Some of the church elders are very good in spiritual life.

It’s over all good... true to it’s diocesan affiliation.. Evening service - Tamil and English are conducted on alternate sundays. I think every Sunday evening should be English service only. Can attract a lot of foreigners who are otherwise easily being captured by the other forces. Please for God’s sake.. stick to English..

K C Anthony presided and blessed our wedding mass. I was one of the active members of Alter boys, Youth group, Vincent de Paul, and Parish council. Holy Spirit Church really helping me and my family to live our life as a true Catholic Christian. I joined Neo Catechumenal Way in the year of 2001 with the help of catechist team and now (since 2017) we are doing Christian ministry with my family (I and my wife Glory with 5 children) in Ahmedabad Gujarat with the help of Bishop of Ahmedabad. There are churches dedicated in the name of the Holy Spirit. This is one kind in Puducherry, where abundance of mercy of Trinity flows in. Salesians of Don Bosco do marvelous ministry here. It's appreciate of it. The Church is now celebrating It's jubilee year. May all goodness be in the life of those who come to this Church. My childhood memories pertain to this Church. I received my initial sacraments here. The life of Salesians made me to live like them test of the years. Salesian brothers who animated the childrena dnd youth during summer vacations did a great ministry here. The friut of this service is enormous. Now, I am a Salesian, too. Thanks to Don Bosco who guides me and protects this surrounding. This Church is so close to my heart, that I even did my Theological paper on Holy Spirit to acquire Bachelor of Theology. Beautiful Church, gothic structure, well preserved and maintained. Only difficulty is to find the place,there should be signposts from the main road and the approach to the church is very narrow. Nothing much can be done as the church is situated in a thickly populated residential area.

About a Kilometer north (when you face the Statue) of Gandhi statue. It is in a fishermen colony. With Free parking in the front of the Church, this is majorly servicing the locals. Could not get more details even from the locals. Peaceful, calm and reasonably neat area! But, very, very narrow roads! Lot of good architectural work – worth Seeing & Praying. We could not get inside the church, as some ceremony was running in the premises. Felt more of a Tamil based culture – Good & helpful people who guided us correctly to back to Gandhi statue, as the main Beach Road was closed (for the construction of a bridge). The Beach Nearby the Church ======================= Because of them, we could see another local beach (KURUCHIKUPPAM BEACH - Very good Views & breeze), where locals were conducting games (in a Playground) and Flying kites on the shore (Kindly ref to our photos). A statue of “Kadalamma (Goddess of Sea)” Holding a child was dressed and worshiped. A stream was joining the sea, nearby! Wonderful area, really (For exploring) Overall For a combined (Prayer & Break) evening break, this place is ideal. The Sun rise should be very beautiful, as the locals explained.
