Visited Cafe Des Arts during Christmas holidays, after listening to a huge hype for this place from my friends. The ambience was great. However, after waiting in a long queue, the food & its taste made it a slightly disappointing experience. However, the place has a good vibe. If you haven't visited this place, you could visit for once to experience an authentic french cafe.

Another area of improvement is the service, which was disappointingly slow. The wait times for orders and receiving attention from the staff were longer than expected. This sluggish service detracted from the overall dining experience. Although the food did not completely live up to the hype, the ambience at Cafe des Arts was undeniably captivating. It's a heritage French house tastefully converted/restored into a café. The food is decent not really exceptional as such. Cafe is famous for its breakfast and brunch. If you wanna click some nice pictures, this is the place for you. Nice ambiance,friendly staff. Fresh bakery goods and fresh food made all the time. You can even buy organic vegan products from there. They amazing indoor and outdoor seating and bookshelf loaded with books to enjoy reading while have some nice brunch or snacks.

Not worth the wait of 60 Minutes, and yes I'm saying this being a foodie myself. Will not recommend this place for food. Food is overpriced, limited and do not preserve the authenticity of the food itself taste wise. Will say, take photographs outside and leave, that's more worthy. No photography allowed inside the restaurant which is unjustified to be honest. EDIT: Updating to 1 star ⭐. The foreigner lady aka the owner of this place is really rude, she insulted my friend for leaving a bad review and also commented on our upbringing, which is anti-Indian in nature. Would never come to this place again.

What a gem café in the middle of Pondi. We absolutely loved everything about this beautiful place. Vintage chic indian deco with some little gem French & Indian sculptures. The atmosphere is cool & soft, large spaces where you feel at home with enough space for your group of friends ( I saw large tables up to 14 guests outside) and small area for 2 to 6 people. The food is excellent, quality is top class, the fruit bowl was generous, fresh, the salad with grapefruit was refreshing and delicious. My children loved the croque monsieur and the crepes. We felt so grateful to have such a place in India. Best breakfast, best lunch, best brunch and best afternoon tea. The Masala chai tea was again generous with a pot for 2. Bravo to all the multilingual team working hard in the background.

An okay experience at Cafe des arts. The food was decent, but nothing extraordinary. Service was fine, although it could be more attentive. All the staffs were showing over attitude towards their customers. Overall, a decent option if you're in the area, but there are better choices available.

I think this place is living upto it's hype. You look for any youtube travel channel or any other social media about pondicherry, this place features. We went there after lunch for desert and coffee, it was full but they are well organised. They called us after 15-20 mins wait. The ambience is cool with trees in the middle and seating is pretty nice. We ordered pista cake, apple pie and a Capachino.it took some time but not that too much. We liked everything thing. This place is a must visit - for whatever time. Lunch/Dinner/coffee, it works for everything. Menu is extensive!!

Coromandel Café, White Town — every corner here is pure aesthetic and perfect for photos! The café has multiple sections — a lovely outdoor area with plants, cozy indoor seating with a restaurant vibe, and an upstairs space with a vintage café feel. Each corner has its own unique charm. We had a great experience here! The food was amazing — we tried the Mediterranean Pizza (so good, especially with the Greek dip!) and the Mason & Co Chunky Blondie. The blondie was nice, though I wish it was a bit softer. The pizza, however, was absolutely perfect. The service was good, and overall, I was really impressed by the café’s aesthetic and warm vibe.

Incredibly difficult to find a spot. Would recommend making a reservation, otherwise, be prepared to wait for a table. Old-world, mansion-style lighting and decor greet you inside. We ordered the pork chops, grilled fish, and a grilled pineapple and chicken salad. Variety of dishes is somewhat limited, but the food is good and service is very prompt.

Terrific ambience and super fast service. Loved the vibe at the cafe especially the outdoor seating area. Coming to the food, I ordered a crispy aubergine roll which I expected would be good but didn't have much taste and the sauce served with it was a little too tangy. The caramelized onion and goat cheese pizza was fantastic and had the perfect balance in taste and uniform spread of ingredients. The dough was well fermented, airy and crispy which made the pizza very enjoyable. Though a little pricey, I would rate it a 4/5 on the food and 5/5 on service and atmosphere!

Good French cafe which has a beautiful interiors coupled with trees around, there is a bakery. You get only Jain pizza if you are a Jain. They have a whole variety of menu catered to veg and non veg dishes. Coffee was good. Nutella donut esp for kids. Good place to hangout.

Visited Indian Kaffee Express after seeing on Instagram, one of must visit places for breakfast. The ambience of the place was good. We ordered for Chilli cheese toast which was amazing and tasted delicious. French toast looked lovely as in the seen the pics which was served with some salads and french fries but sadly the French toast didn’t taste good. The bread wasn’t soaked in properly, it was dry from inside. The manager spoke to us and he was kind enough to give us discount for 2 French toast and also took the feedback positively. We have definitely tried much better French toasts than this place as the manager said we were the first ones to complaint about this. Rest of things like French fries, salad and chilli cheese toast was good.

One of the silent and neat cafe in Pondicherry right inside French colony. It will close by 9pm so need to reach early. Only problem parking in road side and it may attract fine. Lasangne and chicken sandwich was really tasty.

We have been coming to this place for years, but sadly the standards seems to have declined gradually over time. The interiors are still pleasant. The food though visually appealing, misses the mark taste - wise. We ordered the English breakfast, Kafe Mocha, Mushroom Omlette, French toast and Waffle with ice cream n Nutella. Kafe Mocha was the only highlight. English breakfast was decent. The rest of the food was a disappointment. Mushroom omelette wasn’t fluffy and had uneven salt - some bites were too salty to eat. Both the flavour and texture seemed off. The waffle was chewy and slightly burnt on one side. And the spread didn’t taste like Nutella, more like a cheaper version. The French toast was an utter disaster. It was neither soft nor moist like a French toast should be. Also I fail to understand why every dish including the English breakfast came with a side of French Fries. It felt unnecessary and out of place. The washroom was under maintenance and the hand wash area wasn’t clean. Overall, a totally underwhelming experience and we do not see ourselves returning.

An Indian French style cafe with good ambience but very high price, like a a lime is cost 150 Rs..!!! So just aware that this is very very cosy place but you can sit and relax and enjoy the calmness.. Good portraits and structure with english touch in the architecture..

Have been visiting this place since 2015 on an annual basis, and over the last few visits there has been a sharp decline in quality. Ordered English BF, mushroom omelette, waffles with Nutella and French toast. The omelette was slightly burnt and salty in bits, Nutella was substituted with some cheaper product, and the French toast was not properly soaked. Also why add cheap fries and peanuts to every dish? The place also lacks proper upkeep, with wash area being outright dirty. This was once our favourite spot for breakfast in Pondy - sadly those days seem firmly in the past.

We went for breakfast. Ordered an English breakfast and open toast sour dough mushroom sandwich. The food tasted good. Quantity and quality worth the money. The service was slow. They gave us the English breakfast first which was for my husband. He had almost finished eating his dish and my dish had still not come! 🤷🏻‍♀️

The staff were polite, attentive, and well-organized, managing the crowd quite efficiently. Despite the rush, the service was smooth, and we were made to feel welcome throughout. Overall, Bread & Chocolate is a must-visit café in Pondicherry. The cafe is located on roofed on the first floor, light music and the cool breeze made up for a great ambiance. This is Cozy Spot for who loves Continental Food. We ordered below dishes; MOROCCAN CHICKEN TARTINE - Bread with chicken and veggies along with their special sauce. CROISSANT - Croissants were baked to perfection, with the perfect crunch outside and tenderness inside. CAPPUCCINO - It was a perfect cappuccino. SPANISH LATTE - All the items were delicious. What really makes the experience stand out is the staff - welcoming staff with attentive polite nature. I recommend this place for those who are looking for relaxing dining experience with great and calm company.

They have two branches — one in Auroville and one in White Town, Pondicherry. The White Town one has a better vibe, bigger space, and feels like a proper café. Since it’s a tourist spot, you might have to wait around 30 minutes or more, but the service is good and everything’s freshly made. I tried their Tropical Smoothie Bowl — totally worth the hype, super yummy! My friend loved her order too. Overall, a really nice experience.

It seems they have added more seating to manage the growing crowd, which has slightly reduced the earlier charm of the space. That said, the food remains excellent in taste , consistently flavorful and fresh. However, the portion sizes feel on the smaller side compared to the price, which could be improved. Service is commendable; even during a busy weekend visit, we didn’t have to wait long for our order, and the staff managed the crowd efficiently. This is a stylish place for a western style breakfast. We enjoyed ours here. The meals were well presented and tasty. The coffee was excellent too. The only downside is their failure to coordinate the arrival of meals at the table. Two times in a row my meal came after my three companions had finished their meals!

Zuka is Home made chocolates. Verity of chocolates available. Chocolate taste is really good. The also have white chocolate. Ice cream available. Some single pieces of chocolates cost you around Rs. 50-60. Packed all types of chocolates cost around Rs. 500 to 1300 approx. Every time when we visit Pondicherry we must visit here.

It's literal gen for people who love cake and pastries. Tried their chocolate pastries, it was super tasty. Of you're in pondicherry you must try out their pastries. 11/10 recommended for taste. Tho there was no seating area, so if it's convenient for you please visit 'em.

The best brownie spot in the white town. Not just Brownies, must try their chocolates, pastries, ice creams, cakes for occasions and hot chocolates🔥 Good service. Not enough place to sit and eat so to go is the best option or you can get it in paper plates to eat and wander in the streets with your friends. 10/10 for the varieties of brownies ✅✅✅✅

I ordered Ferrero rocher gelato, dark forest cheesecake gelato and MasterChef chocolate cake slice. The gelatos were yummy and creamy. The cake was average, a little too wet for my liking.

I tried 'touch of gianduja mango cheesecake' and it is delectable!!! I hope I can try it again on a next Pondi trip Additionally the staff was very polite, we also saw that the ceiling had many beautiful chocolate butterflies, not pictured here.

Great Ambience in a beautiful building with a top notch view of the beach was the best lunch I’ve ever had in Pondicherry. The staff was very sweet and he conversed with such passion about his work. The food here was amazing and the Chicken Ala Carte was my favourite !! ( recommended!!)

A classic rooftop restaurant, pasta spaghetti were nice . Of course prices were of Bangalore levels. But for a tourist place probably justified .. dishes one have to serve themselves.. beware lift wasn't functional.

Small cute cafe in the middle of Suffren street white town. We wanted some good English breakfast on Sunday morning and we reached here. The menu was looking attractive , we had one english breakfast and one american breakfast. My English breakfast had a half baked potato and bacon strips were bad. The hash brown 🤧 my god again half cooked and idk what it was made of actually we were wondering if it was cabbage or potato for a second. Taste was okayish not too bad i would say. We had also asked for a Mushroom sandwich which was good 💯 The Ambience was good overall but I am not really sure if i would recommend this place for a good English breakfast sorry 😅

Do not miss when in town!!! Heartfelt healthy tasty buckwheat crepes! They customized for me since I wasn't able to decide between 2 signature Savory crepes - added pesto to my Ratatouille Beautiful decor. Cute organic shops inside. Interiors like a traditional artistic home.

All the savoury crepes and dishes we tried were nothing but delicious. Coffee was a lot better than many of the other places we tried. Good Food but Slow Service at Surguru Restaurant.. My dining experience at Surguru Restaurant in Puducherry is of mixed feelings. On one hand, the food was truly delicious and well-prepared. The flavors were delightful, and the presentation was impressive. Each dish we tried was a treat for the taste buds. However, the service left much to be desired. Despite the great food, the slow service dampened our overall experience. We had to wait quite a while for our orders to be taken and then for the food to arrive. It was evident that the staff were overwhelmed and could benefit from better management or additional help. Overall, if you have the patience to endure the wait, the food at Surguru Restaurant is worth trying. I hope they address the service issues to make the dining experience even better.

Great lunch for vegetarian. An old house reformed into a restaurant. Luckily I got the table once I entered and normally it looks like there will be a 10-15 mins waiting time during weekends. Food is delicious and price is above average. I enjoyed the lunch and if you are nearby white town and want to try South Indian veg restaurant you can visit this place

The food was okay. Since it is pure veg restaurant we can go for it. The ambience is good. Can visit for one meal. Quantity was fine even the price was comparatively low than Bangalore.

Good Food. We had breakfast here. Tomato Thokku which they gave for Idly & Dosa is best in the town. Overall a good try. One negative thing is the location - There is a shop in front selling chicken pork mutton and all. You have to cross that shop to enter into Surguru Restaurant.

Very slow service and comparatively very expensive. The cashew pakoda was cold and hardly had any cashews in it. We ordered a pomegranate juice for 140rs (which is normal) but the quantity was very less (pic attached). I wouldn’t recommend if you want to have a quick, tasty and worthy meal.

The food in this place is delicious, I tried several items and all were excellent. The service and staff is very good and efficient with mobile devices to record your order. The alleyway leading to the restaurant is very nice too, I can see why other people have included pictures in their reviews. The room itself is soulless, bland colours on the walls, no atmosphere. It felt a bit sad and beige. Some colours would be great. The tables are arranged like in a school (or prison) canteen. But the food is well worth it.

Visited this cafe in the evening for some good coffee and snacks. The coffee was too good here which was filled pro the brim of the cup. The chicken sandwich too amazing with the sea view but sadly we visited after the sunset and hence could enjoy the sound of waves along the food. The Cold Coffee too was amazing. The apple cart tasted fine. This restaurant is open 24/7 serving food right beside the Gandhi Statue. You can always stroll through the beach. It’s self service here.

The food is not good. Honestly, the burger tastes like a 50 rs burger. The fries are really bad. The cheesecake is not fresh; it already settled. Check out the image for reference. The mocaccino is not really a mocaccino. People come here to take photos from the roof. The food is really overpriced, and the kitchen hygiene is average. I recently visited Cafe Ole and had a great experience. I absolutely loved their Dark and Dense Hot Chocolate—it's rich and flavorful, perfect for anyone who enjoys a serious hot chocolate. The Belgium Hot Chocolate was also very nice, a smoother and milder option if you prefer something less intense. While the collection of drinks is a bit small, the quality is excellent. It's definitely a place to try if you're in the mood for a great hot chocolate.

Tried croissant, Irish cold coffee and chocolate sensation cake. Croissant was very buttery not flaky didn't like the taste. Irish cold coffee was not Irish rather just cold coffee, so as cold coffee it was good. The best part was chocolate sensation cake it was awesome was melting on my mouth a must try and recommended. Price was reasonable. Service and ambience is good. For dessert, a go to place.

This cafe is absolute delight for smooth chocolate shakes and pastries...looks like Ole pastries and Croissant are from Zuka but Ole serves food and Beverages too.Their french fries are done to the perfection and also their Sandwiches are grilled well and tasty. Cool Ambience and good service.

The moment you enter, the lovely draft of coffee hits your nose. The cafe is a lovely little place with around 3 tables for 2 people & one cafe bar with high chairs for around 6-7 people. We had the - Mysore maharaja coffee - 5/5 - it's strong & soooo flavorful. If you like your coffee strong, this is the coffee for your 75% dark hot chocolate - 5/5 - YUM. Not too sweet, decadent. It's perfect. Chocolate croissant - 3.5/5 - it was ok. I think I prefer it when it's flaky. Please order any one croissant & dip it in your hot chocolate for the perfect bite!

Highly enjoyed this hotel! The food was incredible and beautiful lay out. very clean and nice comfortable bed. The service was great with everyone being so kind, respectful, and personable. My fiance and i got the massages for 90 minutes and it was incredible!

Our party of four arrived for dinner at 6pm and were told that the restaurant opens at 7pm. However, we were welcome to have a drink as the bar was open and so were seated and showed menus. When we wanted to order a drink, staff were milling around ignoring us and we felt uncomfortable and unwelcome. After 30 mins we left in disgust. In general the place looks nice but with such appalling customer service I recommend avoiding eating or staying here.

Had been to Villa Shanti for lunch.. its a very nice place with excellent food… very nice ambience… we had the Lobster thermidor and it was delicious. Also, a special mention to Ram, he took excellent care of all of us.

Apart from bakery items, they have sandwiches, burgers, salads, continental and some local Indian items like dosai. Not super cheap, but not overly expensive either considering the bakery’s reputation. Wait times can be long during peak hours. Also, sometimes staff attention is lacking. Overall calm atmosphere, food enjoyable, outdoor seating were good to spend more time alone or with friends. A five and seven star cafe breakfast experience with the vibe the place and the service at its best. Each of the food item is delicious we had abc juice, muesli fruit salad, mushroom cheese omelette, chicken baguettes, coffee and ginger lemon tea and every item was delicious the idli dosa breakfast is served only till 10 am but rest items are open till late. The place so Instagrammable and also is famous for its tasty bakery products like cakes cookies and biscuits. Ample parking place and clean washrooms available. Rates are also reasonable

Good Food, Calm Atmosphere – But Disappointing Reception Experience The restaurant offers a pleasant, calm atmosphere and the food was truly enjoyable. All the servers were courteous, passionate, and served with a smile, which made the dining experience memorable. However, the attitude of the reception staff was disappointing and felt unnecessarily rude. It seemed like we, being somewhat like locals from the neighboring state of Kerala, were not treated with the same warmth shown to foreign guests. There appeared to be a clear bias in how customers were welcomed. Despite this, the quality of the food and the service from the floor staff were commendable. With better hospitality at the front desk, this place could offer a truly exceptional experience.

It's a great cafe in case of ambience. But as their food looks exotic and delicious in photos, it tastes exact opposite. I tried Veg baguette sandwich, tofu sandwich and chicken baguette sandwich. They looked very amazing and was fresh with lots of cheese. But they tasted very Bland, they had no taste at all. I only could taste the veggies in them. The cheese had no taste.. The bread also wasn't great. It was a very plain sandwich with no sauces, nothing that's why it tasted very much Bland. Other than this the juices were great and the Croissant was great. Don't expect very great taste by looking at pictures. Great place to chill with friends.

Unpopular opinion: While the taste didn't quite live up to the hype for me personally, this spot is a classic for locals. I wouldn't call it a must-visit for the food alone, but if you're looking for a chill place to just unwind and relax, it's perfect. The atmosphere here is wonderfully serene and rustic.

The ambience and the food we had was different. We were 4 members and had Veg burger chips salad combo, Tuna salad and Escallop chicken chips salad combo, cappuccino, mushroom omelette sandwich and watermelon juice. We felt the overall portion was so good that it filled our tummy. This is a self service place. The parking space was sufficient. This place is highly recommended once in a while.

I visited Auroville Bakery and Café and tried a few bakes. The cakes from the bakery tasted good. It's a small bakery located near the entrance, and the café is a little further inside. The café offers sandwiches, fresh juices, hot drinks, and burgers — all made with organic ingredients. While the juices were fresh and nice, the overall taste of the food was just average. At the bakery, they do not accept cash; payment is only through cards or UPI. Overall, it’s a decent place, but I feel it's a bit overrated.

Had been here for Lunch on Sunday. Parking wasn't an issue. Too crowded had to wait for 30+ min to get a seat. Ordered below items Veg Meals - very ordinary not worth Nonveg meals - only gravy no nonveg items with this. Fish curry was good. Mutton Biryani - ok..less quantity Kamatchi Biryani - fried chicken with Biryani . Hard chicken pieces Prawn Kamatchi- this was good. Best 👌 The service was poor.. lot of attitude from waitress.

We ordered Chicken Masala Rice Meals and Chicken Biryani. The Biryani was good, but it costs more than ₹250. The Non-Veg Rice Meals, however, are not at all worth the price. It costs around ₹290, and they served only 3 small chicken pieces, out of which 2 were just bones. The rest of the meal was just rice, rasam, curd, pappad, one poriyal, and an egg. Definitely not worth the price.

We found this place via IG recommendations. We had the mutton biryani, chicken lollipop, fish kamatchi and idiyappam here. All of them were delicious. Do note that the spice content is high 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️. The place is a bit dank though, it’s not that airy although it was clean. The food was served real quick and was hot. There are not many sweet or drinks options.

I loved the food here. I tried their mutton biryani,chicken 65 biryani,pirattal rice,fish starter combo and chicken starter combo. I liked the mutton biryani but two of my friends like the pirattal rice more. But all of us found fish starter far far better than chicken starter.

Loved the French fries, prepares to perfection, the range of drinks too is good. Prices are on the higher side, but well worth the experience. They organizers live music nights and performances, that's the main highlight for a fun evening in the heart of White Town. Pick from a choice of outdoor airy seating or indoor seating lit up by warm yellow lamps. It's a treat to the eyes and to your palate, not to mention a soul-warming one.

Seems to have taken a dive of late, no photographic or other hung art apparent, the walls murals remain however. The place appears generally unkempt. At 10:45am some tables hadn't been relieved of tree leaf droppings and other debris. Side tables were visibly sticky and I didn't want to put my hat down on the one nearest to me. We had the Mini Mi breakfast of croissant (with butter and jam) juice (the default was watermelon but we requested and got orange juice) and coffee with or without hot milk (the sort that leaves a protective coffee milk skin on the surface of the drink. The croissants were really nice, warmed and authentic. The mystery jam was also nice, although we couldn't decide what fruit, if any, it was. The coffee was unremarkable. Service was cursory and on the edge of surly; we thought perhaps the chap had been trained in Paris for the authentic French experience. We were also watched, albeit from a distance, by the same chap seated on the verandah at right angles to us. At Rp220 each this respresented good value, it was very quiet, and leafy, but not really what was expected from some of the reviews which raved exceptionality.

Quaint little cafe set on a quiet street serving delicious food! Went here upon a recommendation by the chef at Chez Artizan. The place is run by women coming from vulnerable local communities. I ordered some French toast with Beetroot detox juice and a croissant just for sampling. Everything was quite delicious! Though the croissants at Baker Street might have an edge over these. I was greatly impressed with the idea of having the place run by local women trained in French baking arts. Remarkably noble venture! The seating is upstairs and is quite rustic. The staff is extremely polite and courteous. Definitely worth trying!

I had an amazing breakfast at "Eat My Cake" in Pondicherry, a delightful bakery run by a talented team of women. Enjoying homemade treats on their rooftop, surrounded by trees, was a unique and serene experience. The food is very good, and the atmosphere is welcoming. On my visit to pondicherry this is one of the cafes that I have visited. In one look, fell in love with it's aesthetic ambience. I had breakfast from here, ordered fruity pancakes with maple syrup. The pancakes were super fluffy like clouds and the fruits and powdered sugar garnished over the pancakes were simply additional goodness to it. I recommend this place to all people who are in to small, aesthetic cafes, were you can dine in outside. This is the right place for you.

Service is damn good, but has limited menu to opt from, place is innovative. You have terrace seating (roof top) but not open, it’s the hut roof. The view from the cafe is good. I got to know about this place from Google so i thought I’ll visit as it has so many good reviews. I want disappointment. To locate its kinda inbtw the houses and no much light so. But it’s quite a big place. Coming to the food . Smoothies were great and they make it out fresh so healthy. We had ordered burgers which tasted just okay, English breakfast tasted good but the quantity was less. And a fruit medley which had all sorts of fruits and was good. I would recommend the place for their healthy smoothies.

Situated on the Sri Aurobindo street in white town is this smoothie bar has many options available for smoothies shakes and sandwiches, they make juices and smoothies based on seasonal fruits which makes it a healthier choice. We visited the place during noon and placed our order for a banana nut smoothie which they make with whole milk and not yogurt. You can also choose to customize your own drink as per your choice or try out something from their existing menu. They give smoothies in glass bottles which are good if you wish for a takeaway. The taste of our smoothies was average but the drink is expensive as compared to street side juice and shakes outlets for two drinks.We shelled out 265 rupees which i felt was not worth it.

The smoothies here are very good. But, the sorbets are amazing! I rated one star less for the prices. They are a bit more if you think. Taste is so good. Recommend.

Visited this cafe while on our trip to Puducherry according to best veg options available in the town and it really stands right up to its reputation. I am here just to add my words to the same. We ordered 3 items - French fries, Pizza and a Soup. Food here was finger licking good, no other way to put it. On top of that good food, their preparation of any order is always fresh which reflects in the taste as well. The only cons that I felt was prep time was too high, literally we spent 100+ minutes here just for these three items. However, they make it up to you by the quality of food and the taste they bring to the table. Wood fired Pizza was very tasty. Herbed/Spiced Mayo dip with french fries was real nice as well.

Hygiene: The café was neat and tidy, with clean plates and a well-maintained seating area. I’d rate hygiene 4/5. What we ordered: ABC Juice (Apple, Beetroot, Carrot): Fresh and good in taste. Pasta: Quality was okay, but the portion size was quite small for the price — definitely on the expensive side for the quantity served. Croissant: Tasty but a bit too oily for our liking. Burger: Decent portion size, good taste, and fairly priced. Overall: The management was polite and service was smooth. I’d recommend visiting during breakfast hours — their morning menu looks more appealing. A nice café mainly for good vibes, photos, and a light meal rather than a full lunch.

It’s a really nice place with a wide variety of pizzas and different non-alcoholic drinks. I’ve been to Italy more than once, and the pizza I had here tastes just like the authentic Italian ones. The waiter, Vishnu, was very helpful and friendly. Without a doubt, I can highly recommend this place.

Tried the woodfired sourdough tandoori paneer pizza at Hope Cafe, extremely dry and hard like a rock. Worst pizza experience I’ve had. Having tried soft and flavorful sourdough Neapolitan-style pizzas in Hyderabad, this one was a big letdown. Totally not worth the price and definitely not recommended for pizza lovers.

Tanto is good. It has its pros. and cons. Pros: Excellent yummy finger-licking delicious pizzas. Simple and serene ambience Courteous service Cons: The place is a little shady and difficult to find. You wont believe its actually Tanto in a place like this. Service is good but a little delayed. Food is a little on the higher side when coming to cost.

Their menu is vast wood fired pizza is very delicious pasta is also very good. Main thing I liked was their caramel custard it was extremely satisfying. One star less only due to cleanliness outside. Inside its very peacefull but outside it's bit dirty.

Set in an open garden space this is the place you want to come to to try some of the best wood fired pizzas in Pondicherry. Though I would give the Pizzas, it's taste and quality a 4 star I wouldnt give the approach to this restaurant and the street it is on more than a 2. Firstly this place is located in an Alley type street which requires you to park the car elsewhere and walk here. The ambience is a bit bland with no life. The staff were courteous, but the good was bad. The Pizza was like some ROTI and filling in top. Don't even try their bologenese of risotto, it had diced tomato in onion for crying out loud. Overall it leaves such a bad taste that we were apprehensive to try continental again in the city. Branch owner of this place, please do a quality check or comparison with your place in Auroville which is doing great.

Horribly slow service that they even forget what we ordered. Terribly bland food. It’s very crowded for the beans it has been since a long time and unfortunately not able to keep it up. Our food was not even cooked well (pictures attached) No proper seating for the price. Dusty environment from the busy road next tot the restaurant. There are loads of other pizzerias with better food ambiance and service.

This restaurant is among the decent ones one can find on this stretch, if looking for vegetarian food with some basic hygiene and for a family. We were 3, and seated immediately. Once order taken, food was served in 10 min flat. Food was very tasty and fresh/hot. The portion sizes of the curry/sabzis could be a little more, but nothing to complain. Quick in & out, fuss free and worry free (quality of food)

If you are looking for authentic local tamil cuisine would highly recommend this place. Went here twice (breakfast & dinner) and it was crowded both the times. Everything we ordered were delicious. Kothu Parota, poori & dosa are must try.

Extremely disappointing experience. The manager, Mr. Prakash, was completely uncooperative and unwilling to understand the issue. We had ordered Reshmi Paneer Tikka from the main course sabji section, but were served it as a starter. When we questioned how a starter could be listed under the main course heading, he kept denying it instead of acknowledging the confusion. Things only got worse: • Salad was served midway through the meal, instead of at the beginning. • When we ordered the main course, no plates or cutlery were provided. The sabji sat on the table for over 5 minutes while we repeatedly requested basic items like plates and spoons. • Only after asking multiple times did we receive spoons, that too without plates. Overall, the service was completely unprofessional, disorganized, and far from what one would expect from a decent restaurant. Definitely not recommended.

Service staff are very good. Expensive, food tastes good, not great. Plenty of parking and a nice place for families or large group to enjoy an all vegetarian menu.

Location is the best part about this place. 🏖️ Right across the beach on Dumas street, The Spot is a welcoming, spacious restaurant with outdoor / indoor seating, serving yummy food and drinks. 🍸 ⭐️ Pet friendly, can accommodate a lot of people ⭐️ Peaceful, calm and relaxed atmosphere ⭐️ Good variety of food, something for everyone, reasonable price. Personally, I’ve had better cafe style food in Pondy, and it was too hot while we visited for lunch. Highly recommend to try this place after 6 pm, I’m sure it will be a different vibe ⚡️

The restaurant is designed with an Egyptian aesthetic, and this theme carries through to the menu, making it quite unique in India. It’s located on the ‘beach’ road of White Town, meaning you can reach the sea in just about 3 minutes from the restaurant. It’s also the only pet-friendly restaurant we found that actually provided a feeding bowl for my dogs — a thoughtful touch. Service was excellent; the staff even moved a few large fans to make our seating more comfortable. The food was a solid 4/5 — enjoyable, but with a little room for improvement.

Had dinner at The Spot on a Saturday night and it was an absolutely WOW experience . The service was outstanding and a big shout out to Divya for her patience, her warmth and her efficiency . The food was excellent and the taste of the Lemon Meringue Tart still lingers after 3 days ! Martha and her infectious energy add to the warmth and charm of The Spot. Cannot recommend it enough.. unfortunately we discovered it on our last night in Pondi , otherwise we would have had every possible meal there !

The best place so far in pondy. The menu options are very good. We ordered millet birayani & Pain Perdu (French toast with caramelised apple & vanilla ice cream). The birayani was balanced. The dessert was mounts watering and just melted in mouth. The best part was Chidananda (Server) who was amazing with service (more stars to him)

I recently visited THE SPOT Café on Beach House Road in Pondicherry, and overall, it was a pleasant experience with a few points worth noting. In terms of food and drinks, the Guava Spicy Mocktail was a refreshing choice with just the right kick of spice, while the Orange Juice tasted fresh and well-balanced. Among the dishes, the Chicken Grill stood out for its smoky aroma and tender, juicy texture. The Fish Curry was also impressive—flavorful, rich, and cooked to perfection, capturing the local coastal taste beautifully. However, the prices felt slightly on the higher side compared to portion sizes. Another aspect that could improve the experience is the smoking area. Currently, the smoke from the designated zone drifts into the main seating space, which can be uncomfortable for non-smokers. Placing the smoking zone a little farther away would make the ambience much more enjoyable for everyone. Overall, THE SPOT Café has great food, lovely ambience, and good service, and with a few tweaks, it could be even better.

Beautiful cafe. Good vibes. Limited vegetarian options but excellent desserts. Tried the Lebanese platter which was excellent. Service isn't the best as the place is always crowded and staff has a tough time managing it.

Waffle cart is located inside the town, the seatings are outside and limited, otherwise you have to stand and have your waffle 🧇 . Pretty crowded during the weekends. Waffle 🧇 are really delicious and they're not pricey. If you guys have really sweet tooth then this is the right place.

Though i am not sweet liker but i felt it really nice. I mostly get delivery but dined there but i saw that place its just outside site out. I order a combo of mango mania and chocolate It was good. The price was reasonable. I had this many times but at times i felt that the size or the quantity is getting lesser. Im not sure about this becasue in starting it was larger in quantity but some how it is not now. But overall it is awesome to have snack bite

I truly wonder how cafes like this are getting 4+ star ratings? We landed in this small cafe in the heart of French quarter for lunch, saw it was empty except for a couple at a table & placed our orders. We were told it would take 30 minutes to prepare sandwiches & veg burgers. Apparently, they only have one cook & limited staff. After a fairly lengthy wait, our food arrived. Looking at how it was presented put us off. If it tasted great, we’d have forgiven how it looked but the taste was so mediocre. Does Pondicherry not have any decent cafes?

Exceptionally good cafe. We visited there for a brunch. Ordered Pizza, Burger, Sandwich, Eggs on Crossaint and Veg Lasgna. All food items were five star. We also ordered some coolers and a hazelnut brownie in the end. The delivery is quick and ambience is soothing.

The best cafe in Pondicherry that you definitely must visit - Cafe Eniteo! We went here for dinner and had the most amazing food EVER! We tried Vietnamese a coconut Coffee, watermelon mojito, Cajun Chicken Croissant, The ultimate Grilled Chicken Burger and Pizza Verdure 🙌😍 We highly recommend to try these dishes! Also, they have the best staff! So kind and hardworking. If you guys are in Pondicherry, please drop by this cafe in White Town. We are sure, you won’t regret it!

This is one of the best café in Pondicherry, the ambience is really good, the food was delicious, we have ordered chicken fritters, Cajun chicken sandwich and grilled chicken burger, these are really awesome. This is the best place to visit with your family and friends.

Love the basement area of this cafe. It is simple yet very elegant. It is a relatively new cafe so we were a bit weary, but every dish we tried was superb. We ordered the crepes, pancakes and tartines. Honestly, it was wholesome and delicious. The service is quick and the staff are friendly and polite. I would highly recommend this place if you are around white town for some good breakfast. Most of the cafes were crowded so we decided to go to this place and the place was empty The folks here were very courteous and everything was served with a smile. Loved the ambiance of the place and the food. Everything tasted good and it was pocket friendly as well. There could be a parking issue incase you are driving down but for 2 wheelers there's ample parking space.

Overall La Crepe is a hidden gem that deserves to be discovered. I highly recommend giving it a try - you won’t be disappointed.

Very good place! Food is amazing. Service is excellent! Try one of the many Crêpe-variations. Vegetarian food is available and also breakfast. This is definitely a place you should check out in Punducherry.

We went for breakfast today with two families and had a great experience. The food was heavenly and the owner and staff are very hospitable. They only opened a few weeks ago therefore the interior design has not been completed yet but it already has a good vibe. A gave only 4* for service because food preparation was a little slow (one after another) but still totally worth waiting! The jams are so yummy - authentic French taste. The apple compote was my favourite!
