Very limited collection of clothes only body shop section is good. Before there used to be Ray-Ban, Kama Ayurveda and speedo but this time when I went all those counters were not there only, the cafe inside that is also not that great. Most dissapointing part is they even charge for alteration. I have never seen any shop that charges ever but so dissapointed even after buying denim from there I had to pay alteration charges. People were also super confused, The cashier have no idea about the price, scanned some random price. Overall bad experience.

Wonderful place to get a 360 degrees shopping experience of Pondicherry. I've been a shopper at Casablanca for more than two decades and I'm pretty impressed that they are maintaining the place so well. The service from the staff is good too. Feeling happy and nostalgic that somethings in Pondy haven't changed!

Don’t get fooled by its outer appearance. We entered with much skepticism but once inside, I was completely impressed. This happens to be a 24 year old mall and it is owned by the same person who brought us Hidesign. With marble flooring and wooden stairs, this places gives an old French aesthetic look. It is very encouraging to learn that they promote a lot of local products. There are discounts too on certain products. Do check out the organic products, ceramics, and quirky postcards all produced by the locals. A great place to shop for some quality products.

A nice ambience. As mentioned in other reviews its true that the items pretty expensive. But lovely collections. We bought a US polo yellow T shirt for my 7 year old son. Appreciating the beautiful packing of the item.

Serenity beach is beautiful and visited this place in the evening. You can find a lot of boats and fishing nets kept around. If you don’t like the smell of these fishes then you can avoid this side of the beach. One can find a lots of beautiful shells here. It’s definitely a worth visiting this place.

Visited Serenity Beach in the evening — the breeze and view were lovely, and it’s a nice place to sit on the rocks, relax, and watch the sea. However, it was quite crowded and not very clean. The beach has more of a local, fisherman vibe with lots of boats and activity. There’s a small area where you can play in the water, but overall it’s better for a quick visit than a long beach day.

I shop at anokhi often on vacation in india. However this time, i would warn anyone who walks into this store that the thin lady in the saree who staffs the downstairs will likely be commenting on your looks, hair etc - assuming you dont speak tamil. You could be white, indian, good looking , any size or shape and she bas an opinion. Should be fired. I left when i heard her commenting on another ladies hair dye saying- oh if you bleach it too long it becomes that way and she kept repeating to the older lady there. I didnt want to be judged similarly and would suggest anokhi as a brand which is supposed to be inclusive, diverse and sustainable should not employ such toxic people. Nov 2025. Would humbly suggest not supporting a business that belittles others - i choose not to.

Located on the side of the road a minute away from Coromandel cafe. Parking can be difficult as there are no dedicated spots nearby. Staff are attentive and all ye products inside are priced well and inexpensive.

They have a niche collection of traditional wear and basic accessories like pouches, handmade paper books and bedsheets. I visited this shop with my wife. Clothes are bit expensive but the quality is fine, but you may find some of these clothes over priced. Also, one thing we noticed was the staff behavior which was bit arrogant, nothing in terms of interaction but felt like they judge their customers if they will buy or they won't. Nonetheless, we ended up buying an Anarkali dress. Not attaching any in-store photographs as they don't allow you to take one.

Major market and commercial hub in pondicherry. Market is quite big and can buy A-Z items here. Near to market, branded showrooms, shops, restaurants are available. It's bit organized and great to see many branded showrooms and small shops. Good to purchase all items under one roof. Clean and well maintained. Only drawback transport and the way people drive their vehicles in road.

Goubert market is one of my fav spot in Pondicherry. Especially the flower market i love the fragrance which makes me feel positive and peaceful. This wonderful sprawling market is well worth walking around. One can find fish, vegetable, fruit,grocery stalls etc, including beautiful flower stalls .Such a vibrant market takes a good hour or so to wander round. The stall holders are friendly and happy to be photographed.

A bazar in Pondicherry where you can buy all the daily needs from salt to meat. The market is divided into different sections for different goods and stuffs. The place is very aesthetic. The best time to visit is early in the morning for buying flowers and for other stuffs anytime is good. You can get fresh vegetables from here. Market is very easy accessible since we can enter from 3 sides of the market and have a wide space for parking. It is a must visit place for street photographers who are visiting Pondicherry.

All Products are available but u get ill treated in billing counter. One young person wearing specs is literally treating us like dogs in fact doing cat calls and even teasing us and playing with us because there are lady staffs on the other billing counter. In the other hand , small girls infact young kids are in billing counter who are concentrating more on chatting among themselves instead of billing. Today I tried to give my contact number while billing, I told five times. One girl is standing by the side and not allowing the girl in counter to listen to me. Finally when I asked her pause for one second , she paused and started speaking again after 3 seconds. I hope u r running a charitable trust giving free salary for having so many useless people and chat and play and earn salary. I don't remember these people helping people in selecting products because they all are concentrated on only one area . I hope u will take this seriously if u want to give better service. If u think that u have already reached pinnacle, ignore this but don't take customers like me for granted

Great place for hand embroidery- originally started as a place for destitute women, now it employs marginalised women training them in a niche skill; because of the painstaking hard manual labour the pieces are expensive- worth the money, and the nun in charge Sr Augusta is so very kind to the women workers and attentive to the visitors. Beautiful place- French architecture- donated by a benevolent French family- must visit!!

Lovely elegant embroidery work done by a group of ladies. (They sell coasters, towels, handkerchiefs, kitchen napkins etc) Met a friendly nun there who took me around and explained the embroidery process. The ladies out there work really hard! Heritage building Picture worthy Note: Shut on Sunday and Monday.

A convent initiative taken by the local church to help the poor and needy women and upliftment of society. There is a huge hall where women sit and embroider.It is set in a heritage home that dates back to the 18th century at The Romain Rolland Street of Pondicherry.There is no entry fees and it open from Tuesday to Saturday from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm. Lovely convent embroideries in satin stitch, french knots to name a few on table cloths,runners, napkins,mats,towels and more.They are quite expensive but then it's convent hand embroidery.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I visited the Sri Aurobindo Ashram, but I was pleasantly surprised. It’s not your typical tourist spot it’s quiet, no photography allowed, and very respectful. I learned a lot about Sri Aurobindo and The Mother. The bookshop nearby has some great spiritual and philosophical reads. Definitely worth stopping by if you’re curious about Indian spirituality or just want a break from the beach crowd.

Even the smallest sounds seemed softer, like the place itself was asking for attention and respect. As I walked toward the Mother’s Samadhi, I found myself naturally slowing down, noticing the care in every corner and the quiet dignity of the surroundings. It didn’t feel like a place to just see; it felt like a place to experience The staff greeted visitors with quiet courtesy, gently guiding us about shoes, mobile phones, and maintaining silence. It felt respectful rather than formal, like they were helping everyone feel part of the same shared reverence. Sitting by the Samadhi, I felt a profound stillness and inner quiet that is hard to describe. There was a deep sense of gratitude, reflection, and peace, as if the presence of the Mother and Shri Aurobindo was in the air around me. Every detail around me, the flowers, the pathways, the simple yet immaculate surroundings, spoke of devotion and love. Leaving the ashram, I felt a subtle shift within me, a quiet reminder to live with mindfulness, humility, and calm. Visiting the Mother’s Samadhi is not just a visit; it is a transformative experience. Anyone seeking peace, reflection, or a connection to something timeless must make this visit.

Good to visit to see the Samadhi and come out in a few minutes. As seen in other reviews, the staff is very rude. There is a bookstore towards the exit. I switched on my phone to pay for the books, and picked a call which was urgent of my family, the staff gave me a lecture that had the management seen they would have taken my phone for 2 hours. What kind of kiddish behaviour is this? How do we pay for the books if not cash.

You have to leave your shoes across the street before entering and walk barefoot inside. The ashram is filled with beautiful flowers and a sense of calm. It’s a strictly quiet space — no talking, and phones must be turned off (there are volunteers who ensure this). There is no entry fee. The path inside is short — it takes about five minutes to walk around — but there’s a small meditation area where you can sit peacefully if you wish. The highlight for us was the library. It has a wonderful collection of books (available in many languages), including thin volumes written by The Mother from her 21-part series on yoga and life (inexpensive- INR 30 a book). They also sell lovely postcards and books made by people at the ashram — perfect as souvenirs. Overall, a serene experience — simple, quiet, and meaningful, especially if you appreciate spirituality or literature.

We went to meditate in the ashram in the morning 🌅 on Sunday. Lots of people come and go. Nowadays the weather is a bit hot and there are lots of trees surrounded by nice air. The sea is also near if anybody wants them to go immediately. If anybody wants to eat breakfast 🥞 lunch or dinner they have to make tickets. mobiles are kept silent 🔕 and sleeper are kept in front of the ashram.

Mother is resting in a beautiful garden maintained so well u the ashram. Today with rain and cloudy atmosphere the environment was mesmerising. We were able to sit for an hour or so. Very very calming effect on our psych. Didn’t feel like leaving the place . Everyone radiated peace over here

It's an Auro based Ashram as the name tells, No photography allowed.. You need to switch off mobile and show it to the gate keepers.. It have the memory place of Sri Aurobindo Ghosh. New globe structure ashram is far away from this place.. This is the primary ashram which build by Sri. Aurobindo Ghosh..he was an indian yogi, mahirshi and poet.The Sri Aurobindo Ashram (French: Ashram de Sri Aurobindo) is a spiritual community (ashram) located in Pondicherry, in the Indian territory of Puducherry.The Sri Aurobindo Ashram Trust was established in 1955 to administer the community and its assets.

Very nice shop. Find honey, cookies, spices, bags, shirts, pants, soaps and other toiletries. And all made by NGO's from India, supporting the people who do an excellent job. The owner is really helpful and kind.

This is such a wonderful boutique with beautiful gifts. This boutique has goods sourced from NGOs that work with underprivileged women from all over the country. Loved the time I spent here and ended up buying a lot of goodies!!

Nice shop. Stocks recycled plastic wire koodais (Tamil word for baskets) from the Chennai-based NGO Baladarshan, which are very professionally made. A medium sized tote costs around a 1000 bucks! Koodais are the most understated cultural symbol of local Tamil life and if you care about collecting souvenirs, get a koodai! Aside: Baladarshan is a fair trade organisation and you can read more about them by visiting their profile on google maps.

Owner spoke perfect English (also French) and had a good range of very reasonably priced garments. Price of the items were on par with factory-made garments but are of a higher quality. Also sells beautiful bags, honey, and other natural products.

This is a wonderful shop which sells fairtrade items some of which are handmade by Indian tribal women, as well as a number of natural ayurvedic products just waiting to be discovered. Hats off to the owner for this lovely initiative. Definitely worth a second visit. 😊

Sunday market on mg road is a lot crowded and you get no quality items here. I am told that the vehicles are banned in sunday and the shops open up on the street. I wandered for over an hour but could not find anything worth buying. Nehru street is adjacent to it and it has very good showrooms for clothes.

Great place to shop for household items like carpets,curtains, second hand electronics, cheap earrings, utensils, antique coins and home decor etc. I even saw a few women selling caged parrots and finches. Walking is the only way you can traverse the market with ease. Be careful of pickpockets and speeding two wheelers in the lane.

Only on Sundays on Mahatma Gandhi Road and Nehru Street. Best bargain u can do. Old books, utensils, dresses, and other essentials u can get it here. Traffic is blocked on Sunday on these roads. SO TOURISTS PLEASE AVOID THESE ROADS ON SUNDAYS.

Providence Mall is the only mall we came across in Pondicherry, so it was a convenient stop for shopping and dining. The place is clean and has a decent variety of stores and a food court. However, one downside we faced as tourists was the food court card system. We had to take a prepaid card before making any food purchase, which felt inconvenient since we couldn’t reuse the card elsewhere or during the rest of our trip. A more flexible payment system would definitely improve the experience for visitors.

It's a compact, well-maintained mall with hypermarket, local, intl brand outlets, a decent food court and a PVR Multiplex. It is well located at the centre of pondicherry city. Only issue I found is with the Food Court - we have to get a card for payments. As a tourist, Ilafter roaming, I left and had food outside!

I visited the flagship store on our recent trip to Pondy.Just went to the store to check out the products and buy only if I really liked. But the experience was warm and very welcoming thanks to Sankaran! He was patiently explaining about every product and gave me sufficient time to check the product. You must visit this store while visiting Pondicherry! Weather you purchase anything or not (personally I don't like using leather) however the store is decorated so well! Almost like one of those fancy boutiques. As you walk through the store, you will find the goodies being hung up in interesting arrangements and there are these small corners where they have encased historically significant or famous pieces of leather items with stories about them. Makes it a lot more entertaining to visit a store!

Hidesign products are known for its quality and long life, though quite expensive. Huge store, not so much collection though it’s about 3 storey tall. You can get 10% discount here. They are not keen on offering discounts! Under staffed, they don’t care you buy or not, one way its good.

I am a loyal Hidesign customer. I happened to be in Pondicherry for business and visited this flagship store on Friday (12th) morning at around 10.40am to check out the newly launched shoes. The store person was utterly clueless about my size and could not explain the basics. Disappointed, I left.

The products are absolutely incredible in range, quality, and value for money! However, the customer service was disappointing. The salespeople were grumpy and cold, making impolite comments, and the cashiers were irritable— all of it leaving a sour note on an otherwise great experience. As the face of your business, staff should be trained to treat customers with care and grace, especially for an organization like the Aurobindo Society that stands for kindness and equality. This is what made the experience particularly disheartening.

Must visit place for art Lovers. Lot of kind hearted people in the place. All were so much inclusive. Got to do a factory tour and see all their unique handmade products.

Our recent visit to Sri Aurobindo Handmade Paper was quite disappointing due to the lack of proper guidance. As an educational visit, we expected Mr. Gaurav to provide valuable insights and practical knowledge about the paper manufacturing process. However, he seemed more focused on rushing through the session due to a personal event, making the tour extremely brief and uninformative. There was minimal effort to engage with our students, and instead of offering clear explanations, he unfairly blamed them for not preparing questions in advance. His behavior was rude and unprofessional, and the entire session lasted barely 15 minutes. A factory tour should be a meaningful learning experience, not a hurried formality. We hope they improve their approach to educational visits in the future.

It's a great spot for tourists to stop by in Pondicherry. You will really enjoy this place if you like attending paper making and handprinting workshops. The store has a variety of beautiful items that are a must buy as souvenirs. I would advice the visitors to call and confirm timings of the workshop and factory tour before going.

Paper and craft enthusiastic would love this place. I was really looking forward to visit paper factory to see the process and everything but unfortunately due to covid restrictions there was no tour of the factory or any workshop, but nevertheless gift center is really pretty and good, one must really go to Sri aurobindo paper factory if they visit Pondicherry.

The staffs helped me a lot in matching the items to setup my room. they keep smiling ,Even though I have taken most of their time , the owner involves himself in each and every sale giving small discounts and makes the customers to visit them again and again...

I was searching for Terry cloth bath towels, beautiful towels high quality and great prices. The women were kind and patient. I wanted towels to put crochet flowers and leaves on. As you can see because of design there's no tell tale signs of stitching.

Seeing all the reviews of this place I thought I'd give it a try. This place has a good collection when it comes to the designs that they carry. The quality however is below average. I bought a king size bedsheet set for rs.1400. I've used it about four times till now and with every wash a new issue crops up. The second time i washed it the stitches started coming off. By the fourth wash, the cloth's weave came lose. Seems to be very weak. Either the stock is old or the quality is inferior. Never going back again. EDIT: Sir, if my intention was only to tarnish your reputation, I wouldn't mention that I liked the designs at your shop. I dont know how and why I would manipulate photographs? Cant photo edit something like that and cant rip something I have paid 1400 for, for the purpose of saying something bad about your business. I'm just being critical, I'm not being unfair. I am not speaking on behalf of your other customers - people have posted positive reviews for your business, I'm sure people will go through them as they will go through mine, I am just speaking on the behalf of my experience. I'd understand if this bedsheet was a few hundred bucks and the stitching wasnt quite right. The sheet ripped and the threading came off. The seam allowance was too small. I paid 1.4k for quality and I was disappointed and I voiced my concern. I understand it can be a one-off situation but i did not have the time to exchange it because I was having guests over for a few weeks and needed the sheets. My mom made the required repairs so I simply continued using them. As for my reviews, I dont think it is any of your concern. We run a business too and find our customers critical feedback as valuable as the positive because it helps us improve our service. While I do appreciate your offer of exchanging the sheet free of cost, i am disappointed with the attitude this review has received. Defaming me to cover up for a faulty product from your end speaks volumes.

A very well maintained and neatly organized store dealing with bed linens, kitchen linens, towels, napkins, table covers, quilts etc all made of great quality cotton material. The colors of the fabric are pleasant. I loved the bed spread collection and the quality is super good. Will recommend the store for quality cotton products. Prices are also reasonable.

Today visited this beach in the afternoon. We walked from Mothers ashram till Bakers street shop. Dark blue color waters welcomed me. With monsoon to set soon the beach looked calm and composed. Boats were doing trials on this beach. With rocks on both sides, enough space to walk, get down and touch the sea waters this beach is mesmerising. Afternoon with not much harsh sweaty sun, the whole beach looked glittering amidst blue sky and dark clouds. This is my first afternoon time visit to the beach. The promenade is indeed beautiful with coconut trees swaying in breeze. Lighthouse, crafty bazaar, Pondicherry museum, art museum and park are places around to visit. There is a lactation room spot in this beach. Travellers don’t miss visiting this beach when you travel to Pondicherry.

It’s nice because it’s open space which is so rare here except for the waterfront. It was clearly once a beautiful park but it’s seen better days. It needs a major renovation. Still, it’s nice to walk around and the kids clearly love the playground area

The place is very neatly maintained.. This is old residence (or bungalow) which has been turned out to be a place of business.. When you enter you will find trinkets, clothes and showpieces for sale and the restaurant is located on the terrace.. Ambience is something to look out for.. We had 'Indian Enchilada' which is a hot chapati filled with lentils and salads with some cheese sprinkled.. We enjoyed the food and ordered some chocolate pan cakes and Vennila icecream.. Pancake was loaded with chocolates and truly homemade.. Though the prices of the food is overpriced I didn't bother to pay for it as we spent a quality one and half hour chatting and enjoying ourselves.. Service time was fairly good.. I'm likely to go back to this place and spend some time..

The place has live performances on Saturday evenings usually. The menu is very limited, though they are delicious. Their divine figurines are so aesthetically pleasing. mini ones are detailed yet affordable too. they have a collection of writings of aurobindo and the mother too. they do have a meditation and study room in the basement. there is fabric collection, incenses, perfumes, soaps, beauty care, essential oils and percussion instruments.

Basically it is a fishing beach, now this has became a tourist spot as many resorts and hotels have come up in this area. One positive point is its less crowded and best for sunrise view. Needs a lot of improvement in terms maintenance, toilet facilities and eateries. Very few shops available, we can get fresh fish.

Very good beach to relax, sunrise is very beautiful. Ideal place to take photos. However, the administration should pay more attention to cleanliness.

The beach is beautiful and very family-friendly. The water is shallow and safe, with gentle waves, making it perfect for kids to play. There are changing facilities, but no food stalls, so bring your own snacks and water. The sand is almost black, and the beach is mostly clean. It’s a great spot for watching the sunrise in the morning, but it does get crowded after 8 AM. We had a wonderful time with our kids playing in the water and sand—definitely worth a visit!

Well, to be honest I went there during the second half of the day when the fish market was almost done. A beautifull colorful market! It was an unexpected discovery that we found while walking around the city. It's located in a very central area but difficult to notice because it is hidden behind tall buildings. We entered from mahatma gandhi road, next to a big "airtel" store. The market is full with a wide variety of vegetables, fruits, spices and more. As we continued on to the back far end from where we entered we found an area with a magnificent colorful variety of flowers and florists making enormous flower chains. I found it surprising that no tourist information source (our hotel, the maps weve got, websites about puducherry) has recommended this market. I highly suggest anyone who visits puducherry to go there.

This is the place to shop if you are looking for something special / different / beautiful. A true design boutique with a mix of designers with a wide price range. There are some really special pieces here. They have a range of sizes to fit everyone. My wife got several beautiful dresses that she has worn over the 2 weeks in India and will definitely be wearing back in England.

I had a truly unpleasant experience at this shop. I entered with a sealed coffee, intending to purchase, but was immediately met with a rude and dismissive attitude from the owner. I was told I couldn't hold my coffee while looking around or set it on a table, as if I had committed some offense. The owner's behavior was disrespectful and made me feel very unwelcome. I will not be returning. Visited on 31st March, 2025.

Sunita the shop manager is extremely rude and non welcoming. I happened to accidentally break a small piece of lid of a ceramic incense holder. The lid wasn’t latched and it was a genuine mistake. I was okay to pay for it but the way she spoke to me was unacceptable. She was like I can’t do anything with your sorry and that I can try my luck fixing it. Extremely uncooperative and disrespectful behaviour on her part. The first rule of hospitality industry is to be kind to the customer. She doesn’t believe in that. I did not like the way I was treated. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS STORE.

We bought something in Feb 2021 and 6 months later it has still not been delivered. We were decent enough to pay the full amount upfront. The owner has put his manager infront to answer our texts and calls and he himself is missing. They claim our item is lying in the warehouse in Chennai and is delayed due to the Pandemic. But interestingly, they do not have a phone number for their shipping agent, nor any clarity whatsoever about the date of dispatch. Every time we speak to the manager he pacifies us that it will be shipped, but it is increasingly getting hard for us to believe these stories. Buyers be aware!

You wont believe its actually Tanto in a place like this. Service is good but a little delayed. Food is a little on the higher side when coming to cost.

Their menu is vast wood fired pizza is very delicious pasta is also very good. Main thing I liked was their caramel custard it was extremely satisfying. One star less only due to cleanliness outside. Inside its very peacefull but outside it's bit dirty.

Set in an open garden space this is the place you want to come to to try some of the best wood fired pizzas in Pondicherry. Though I would give the Pizzas, it's taste and quality a 4 star I wouldnt give the approach to this restaurant and the street it is on more than a 2. Once inside though you are cocooned of the environment outside. That said very decent service and very good food (including their salads and pastas)

Visited this place as this joint is backed up by huge overwhelming reviews. Ordered iced tea and seafood pizza. Iced tea was good. The pizza was also nice but somehow didn't like the taste(probably novice tastebuds). The pizza base was nice, texture was praiseworthy.

You will get great pizza. But price bit high.yiu will get great quality wood fire pizza and also order ice tea in summer. Great combination.you can also ask them to give half half 2 different topings on single pizza 🍕 if you want to taste different varieties. They also have wheat 🌾 pizza. You will get thin crust pizza .this place is in auroville.

Firstly this place is located in an Alley type street which requires you to park the car elsewhere and walk here. The ambience is a bit bland with no life. The staff were courteous, but the good was bad. The Pizza was like some ROTI and filling in top. Don't even try their bologenese of risotto, it had diced tomato in onion for crying out loud. Overall it leaves such a bad taste that we were apprehensive to try continental again in the city. Branch owner of this place, please do a quality check or comparison with your place in Auroville which is doing great.

Horribly slow service that they even forget what we ordered. Terribly bland food. It’s very crowded for the beans it has been since a long time and unfortunately not able to keep it up. Our food was not even cooked well (pictures attached) No proper seating for the price. Dusty environment from the busy road next tot the restaurant. There are loads of other pizzerias with better food ambiance and service.

Its a very old place or you can say its a ruin but fairly photogenic if want to have skme old movie kind of vibes. If you want to go here you need to book a ferry. After 10 minutes of boat ride you will reach the place. They say scenes of a south indian movie were shot in this place so recommended but for a short visit. Not a place to spend a whole day here . Food- nariyal pani and other ready to eat snacks were available Boat wale bhaiya told us that he will wait for 15-20 minutes only which means we got this much time only to spend here.

I visited recently and found it to be an interesting glimpse into India’s ancient connection with the Roman world. The site, now maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India, is quiet and surrounded by greenery, making it feel like a hidden piece of history away from the city crowds. There isn’t much left standing except some brick structures and old foundations, but the information board explains its importance as an ancient Indo-Roman trade port known as Poduke. Reading about the excavations and discoveries—like Roman pottery, beads, and coins—makes the place come alive. It’s fascinating to imagine ships once docking here, carrying goods and ideas between continents. Although the site is small and not very commercialized, it holds great archaeological value. There is nothing here.. i mean absolutely nothing just a few broken walls n pillers that tell no story . They have just mentioned this place as a tourist place so the boat guys and goli soda sellers can make some money .

Visited Arikemedu through boating from Marina pondy,stunning mangrove forest and short walk to Arikamedu .It is old structure where movie shootings takes place and it is peaceful place.Stayed their for 15 minutes and came back.

Firstly, for going this, you need to take a package from the boating people, they charge 400 each and covers four places, including this Arikamedu. This is very ancient place but there are few people who are living there, not at all bothered about the heritage. They just roam in it

A small and beautiful market. This market is located near Promenade Beach. since it's a seaside area, the weather here is quite hot, so make sure to wear light, breathable, and heat-resistant clothing.

That said, I appreciate the government for setting up this kind of market in a prime location—it’s convenient for buying souvenirs or home items. Parking is limited to bikes and scooters, with no space for cars. Overall, it’s a decent stop for shopping, but not really a must-visit place in Pondy.

It is a good place to explore handicrafts, local artisan products, and souvenirs. Location is easily accessible. There are many shops there but almost all sale the same things. And, I bought a few bracelets the kids. Pretty expensive compared to outside market. And the colours faded within 2 days. 😕 So better buy natural ones, not the colourful ones, may be painted ones like I got.

A great collection of unique designs which are so much Fab Indian can be seen here . Great hospitality and customer care were extended. There is a vast collection of trendy cotton attires and summer wears here in this Fab India outlet. I feel that this is one of the best outlets of Fab India in all over the country.

I felt very wowed by the items, and the sales lady was very helpful, knowledgeable and professional. I came to buy gifts here and In Upassana and Hidesign and Casablanca, I would say Via Pondicherry was my favourite overall, though I wish the prices were say 10% lower.

It’s a nice store with a great collection. But you wouldn’t want to buy from there. I liked a few pieces and asked the salesperson a few questions about the product and they asked me to google it. And then they told me why don’t you tell me what this product is. They haven’t been taught / trained on the products they’re selling and they’re clueless about it. It was an extremely unwelcoming experience. And it was evident from their behaviour from the moment we stepped in. And right before stepping in my friend took a picture of the store from the outside. And the security said we aren’t. Quite the weird experience.

We spent glorious time with this lovely family who helped our choice in a supportive and unpressurised way. Larger items were most carefully wrapped with appropriate documentation for travel & customs. Best of all, heavy & bulky items (bed linen & wall hangings) were posted on for return home. Saw the most subtle carpet, which was held as house purchase at home completed & then shipped in time for the move. Service & kindness beyond the extra mile. Go, have a wonderful visit & make new friends!

My husband and I spent a lot of time and money in here on our first time to India this last Nov. Along with many other items we purchased for gifts, my husband wanted to buy me a ruby ring. I found one but I kept looking at it as the “silver” looked dingy but we bought it!? I took it into a jewelry store at home (America) and found what I expected to be just metal with a silver finish. I was reluctant at the time of purchase but unfortunately we had a good salesman. Beware!!!!

It is a wonderful place with awesome collection of items ranging from silver jewelries, home decors to other art and craft items. Very cordial and polite staff which is the usp of the place. More important part, the staff knows about the products, which attracts interest. Another aspect worth mentioning is that the prices are cheaper than most other shops.
