Bakery
Restaurant
Baker Street, located on Bussy Street in Pondicherry, is a casual eatery that offers a wide variety of French baked goods and desserts, as well as sandwiches, meat dishes, pasta, and seafood. The menu features oven-fresh quiches, croissants, brioches, crepes, and an array of delectable desserts at affordable prices.
A cozy bakery tucked away in Pondicherry, perfect for those who love fresh bakes and a relaxed vibe. The place is clean, the staff is warm and welcoming, and service is quick even during rush hours. Ideal for a quick coffee break or grabbing something sweet on the go. Their consistent quality and calm ambience make it a reliable spot to revisit.

Baker Café was an amazing place! Even though it was a bit overcrowded because of all the hype, trust me it’s totally worth it. The quality in the Beverage & Confectionery segment was top-notch, rich in flavor, and absolutely satisfying. The only thing that could be improved is the seating arrangement. Overall, it’s a 10/10 experience and a must-try spot when you’re in Pondicherry. I loved the place for its offerings in the Beverage & Confectionery segment!
Subham G — Google review
Great Food, Fun Vibe, but Slightly Pricey The food is amazing as always, making it a great spot to hang out with friends. It’s a bit on the expensive side, but the overall experience is enjoyable. The restroom was clean and decent, and the uniquely designed tap was a nice touch!
Praveen N — Google review
The brownie was truly delightful, and the escargot pastry impressed as well. While the tiramisu was enjoyable, it didn’t quite match some of the best versions I’ve had before. The atmosphere is vibrant and welcoming, but the prices are noticeably steep.
Gaurav B — Google review
I recently visited Baker Street in Pondicherry, a must-visit destination recommended by my friend. This bakery has carved out its own niche, offering an array of scrumptious savories and irresistible pastries. Most items are freshly baked and absolutely delightful! However, seating is limited, so it can get challenging to find a spot during peak hours. On the downside, prices could be more competitive, and the staff's vibe didn't quite match the bakery's charm. Despite that, the croissants were a highlight, especially the cinnamon roll one – a must-try!
Helna E — Google review
French delicacies is what's written outside....with French colonial structure, color the place looked very inviting...hence we stepped in to indulge in French baking cuisine.. This place is a must visit if you have a sweet tooth for sweet bakery items..it smelt like I've entered my final destination of me being elevated into food indulging. We ordered a chocolate croissant and a baked cheesecake...the croissant was fluffy, light, with layers of flaky bread and strong chocolate enough to make the combination a perfect one....and the baked cheesecake was beyond any words I have to describe....very different from the ones I eat in Mumbai thinking how great they're. If you're coming to pondicherry, this place is a must visit for all you sweet tooth companions of mine...
The G — Google review
The famous eatery for confectioneries in Pondy, but sadly we didn’t like the any of it much as it was hyped. Ordered for Tiramisu, Mango cheesecake, Trocadera and Lemon Tart, all of us these were 3/5 in taste. We also took kombucha in different flavours such as lime, hibiscus too and it was good.
Pavana P — Google review
Service was very unwelcoming, maybe because I was a tourist there. I waited for my turn with calm and patience to order but nobody paid attention, people who came after me got their orders. I called out to them, a lady who was working there went "mam have patience please!" in a rude tone with disgusted expressions on her face. It was with us only. Even the cashier had unwelcoming expressions. Another humble lady who was cleaning tables was really kind though and took my order. Anyways food was really tasty and good quality, I tried éclairs, biscuits and cheesecake all flavourful and well crafted. Overall Pondicherry is a substandard place to visit, not much to experience besides people's unfriendly and manipulative behaviour to tourists for money.

Cafe
Cafe des Arts is a charming French cafe located in a 19th-century building with vintage decor and garden seating. Run by French expats, it offers a delightful menu of French cafe fare and coffee. The cafe also features an adorable vintage-furnished seating area and an in-house colorful apparel boutique, creating an inviting ambience that exudes colonial heritage charm. Additionally, visitors can explore the adjacent Nirvana shop for hand-made gifts and souvenirs.
Amazing place for a French breakfast and brunch. The crepes are truly special, especially with the amazing variety of rare toppings you can put on them. The veg omelette was served with a couple of other side dishes which make it quite a wholesome meal. The service was slightly slow eventhough I went at non peak hours but they make everything in house which is great. I faced a big issue with mosquitoes because it was monsoon so probably choose something full length when going here or the mosquitoes won't stop pestering you.
Sanchit K — Google review
Visited Cafe Des Arts during Christmas holidays, after listening to a huge hype for this place from my friends. The ambience was great. However, after waiting in a long queue, the food & its taste made it a slightly disappointing experience. However, the place has a good vibe. If you haven't visited this place, you could visit for once to experience an authentic french cafe.
Dinesh C — Google review
Cafe des Arts, known for its charming ambience, left me with mixed feelings during my visit. While the cafe's setting and atmosphere lived up to the hype, the culinary experience fell slightly short. Starting with the positives, the croissants at Cafe des Arts were delightful. They were fresh, flaky, and lived up to my expectations. Additionally, the eggs dishes were prepared well and met my expectations in terms of taste and quality. I particularly enjoyed the cold espresso, which provided a refreshing pick-me-up. The flavors were well-balanced, making it a satisfying beverage choice. However, one downside of Cafe des Arts was its limited menu, especially when it came to vegetarian options. The countable vegetarian choices might disappoint those looking for more variety. It would be great if the cafe could expand its menu to cater to a wider range of dietary preferences. Another area of improvement is the service, which was disappointingly slow. The wait times for orders and receiving attention from the staff were longer than expected. This sluggish service detracted from the overall dining experience. Although the food did not completely live up to the hype, the ambience at Cafe des Arts was undeniably captivating. The cafe offers both indoor seating and an open lawn, providing options for guests to enjoy their meals in a pleasant environment.
Tushar S — Google review
The place has a great ambiance, the artwork and store are highly curated. Each corner has a different and unique type of art taste. It's a heritage French house tastefully converted/restored into a café. The food is decent not really exceptional as such. Visit for the ambiance, the store, to take photos, meet friends, and enjoy the space.

Cafe is famous for its breakfast and brunch. If you wanna click some nice pictures, this is the place for you. Nice ambiance, friendly staff. Fresh bakery goods and fresh food made all the time. You can even buy organic vegan products from there. They amazing indoor and outdoor seating and bookshelf loaded with books to enjoy reading while have some nice brunch or snacks.

Not worth the wait of 60 Minutes, and yes I'm saying this being a foodie myself. Will not recommend this place for food. Food is overpriced, limited and do not preserve the authenticity of the food itself taste wise. Will say, take photographs outside and leave, that's more worthy. No photography allowed inside the restaurant which is unjustified to be honest. EDIT: Updating to 1 star ⭐. The foreigner lady aka the owner of this place is really rude, she insulted my friend for leaving a bad review and also commented on our upbringing, which is anti-Indian in nature. Would never come to this place again.

What a gem café in the middle of Pondi. We absolutely loved everything about this beautiful place. Vintage chic indian deco with some little gem French & Indian sculptures. The atmosphere is cool & soft, large spaces where you feel at home with enough space for your group of friends ( I saw large tables up to 14 guests outside) and small area for 2 to 6 people. The food is excellent, quality is top class, the fruit bowl was generous, fresh, the salad with grapefruit was refreshing and delicious. My children loved the croque monsieur and the crepes. We felt so grateful to have such a place in India. Best breakfast, best lunch, best brunch and best afternoon tea. The Masala chai tea was again generous with a pot for 2. Bravo to all the multilingual team working hard in the background.

An okay experience at Cafe des arts. The food was decent, but nothing extraordinary. Service was fine, although it could be more attentive. All the staffs were showing over attitude towards their customers. Overall, a decent option if you're in the area, but there are better choices available.

Zuka is a cozy dessert shop located on Mission Street in Pondicherry, offering an array of delectable treats such as decadent cakes, housemade chocolates, and other sweets. The quality of their baked goods and chocolates has made Zuka a must-visit destination for chocolate lovers. Visitors can indulge in hot chocolate served with a chocolate spoon on the side and choose from a variety of cakes, cookies, chocolates, and pastries displayed in the gleaming case.
We went to try the famous hot chocolate but it was over at the time we reached so We ended up ordering Master chef cake (1 Slice), Ferrero chocolate Brownie, & Croissant. but we enjoyed them so much, we felt they were worth it. ❤️

Zuka is Home made chocolates. Verity of chocolates available. Chocolate taste is really good. The also have white chocolate. Ice cream available. Some single pieces of chocolates cost you around Rs. 50-60. Packed all types of chocolates cost around Rs. 500 to 1300 approx. Every time when we visit Pondicherry we must visit here.

It's literal gen for people who love cake and pastries. Tried their chocolate pastries, it was super tasty. Of you're in pondicherry you must try out their pastries. 11/10 recommended for taste. Tho there was no seating area, so if it's convenient for you please visit 'em.

One of the finest cafe in Pondicherry...their pastries are rich and tasty. A Must try place if u visit Pondicherry ❤️ I tried their Apple pie too ...was yummy and so were their icecreams. Though small place i i loved the way they have decorated the wall with interesting quotes and the ceiling.

This sweet and bakery shop in Pondicherry is a gem for those with a sweet tooth! The variety of sweets and pastries available are delicious and of high quality. However, one area for improvement would be the lack of seating space for customers to enjoy their purchases on-site. Despite this, the shop's offerings make it a great place to grab a quick treat or take some goodies back home. With a bit of expansion or rearrangement, this shop could become an even more delightful experience for customers.

The best brownie spot in the white town. Not just Brownies, must try their chocolates, pastries, ice creams, cakes for occasions and hot chocolates🔥 Good service. Not enough place to sit and eat so to go is the best option or you can get it in paper plates to eat and wander in the streets with your friends. 10/10 for the varieties of brownies ✅✅✅✅

I ordered Ferrero rocher gelato, dark forest cheesecake gelato and MasterChef chocolate cake slice. The gelatos were yummy and creamy. The cake was average, a little too wet for my liking.

I tried 'touch of gianduja mango cheesecake' and it is delectable!!! I hope I can try it again on a next Pondi trip Additionally the staff was very polite, we also saw that the ceiling had many beautiful chocolate butterflies, not pictured here.

Cafe
Coffee shop
Located in Pondicherry, Le Café is a waterfront café with a rich history. Originally built as a Port Office in 1790, it later transformed into a charming café after the destruction of the pier due to a cyclone in 1952. Situated on Rock Beach, this government-operated café operates 24/7 and offers stunning views of the Bay of Bengal.
I visited Le Cafe on a quiet Sunday late afternoon when it was mostly empty, offering a peaceful dining atmosphere. The cafe boasts a spectacular view of the sea, allowing diners to enjoy their meals with the serene backdrop of the ocean right up close. I ordered the chicken sandwich, priced around 300, and a refreshing lime soda for 75. Both items were delightful—flavorful and satisfying. The combination of good food and the tranquil seaside view made for an enjoyable experience. Le Cafe is a great spot for those seeking tasty food in a calm setting with stunning sea views.
Prabakaran G — Google review
Le Café in White Town, Puducherry, is a charming spot that feels like a paradise for anyone who loves to sip coffee by the sea. With the refreshing sea breeze, warm sunlight, and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee filling the air, the ambiance is simply magical. Watching the sunrise with a cup of coffee here is an unforgettable experience. The food and beverages served are of excellent quality. From coffee, pasta, and pastries to delicious sandwiches, everything is prepared to delight the taste buds. The menu beautifully blends local flavors with international standards, making it unique. Adding to this, the friendly staff and their warm hospitality make the visit even more pleasant. What makes Le Café truly special is its natural setting and serene atmosphere. Sitting by the beach, listening to the sound of the waves while enjoying a cup of coffee, offers a rare sense of peace. For both travelers and locals, this café creates memories that are bound to last a lifetime. K.vinothkumar

Visited this cafe in the evening for some good coffee and snacks. The coffee was too good here which was filled pro the brim of the cup. The chicken sandwich too amazing with the sea view but sadly we visited after the sunset and hence could enjoy the sound of waves along the food. The Cold Coffee too was amazing. The apple cart tasted fine. This restaurant is open 24/7 serving food right beside the Gandhi Statue. You can always stroll through the beach. It’s self service here.
Pavana P — Google review
Le Café in Pondicherry offers a lovely location right by the beach, perfect for enjoying the sea breeze with a cup of coffee. The view is unbeatable, and it’s a great spot to relax. However, the service could be a bit more attentive, and the food was a little underwhelming for the price. It’s still a nice place to visit, especially for the vibe and the view, but could use some improvements in the overall experience.
Abdul A — Google review
The food is not good. Honestly, the burger tastes like a 50 rs burger. The fries are really bad. The cheesecake is not fresh; it already settled. Check out the image for reference. The mocaccino is not really a mocaccino. People come here to take photos from the roof. The food is really overpriced, and the kitchen hygiene is average. The burger had raw capsicum in it, like cold stuff.
Sai P — Google review
Amazing ambience and unbeatable beachside location! Perfect spot to relax and enjoy the sea view. Food was good, portions decent, and prices quite affordable compared to other beachside cafes. Self-service setup, but overall a great place to chill with friends or family. Definitely worth a visit when in Pondicherry!
KEYA J — Google review
The star point for this place is that it is situated just near the beach which attracts the customers. The food is ok. The place works on self service. The place is hyped due to the location and has become an iconic place in Puducherry. Would recommend to visit there at least onceiti enjoy the view.

Located in the French Quarter of Pondicherry, near notable landmarks like the Police headquarters and church Eglise Notre-Dame des Anges, The Indian Kaffe Express (TIKE) is a charming and inviting restaurant. The menu features a fusion of Indian fast food from cities like Kolkata, Mumbai, and Delhi alongside European-inspired dishes such as couscous salad and crepes.
Had an amazing evening here. Ordered a bunch of stuff, and I'd say Nutella Waffles and Pancakes were very good. The service was very quick, and the staff were very friendly. It also had a nice quiet ambience, which matches the vibe of the White Town.

I recently visited Indian Kaffe in Pondicherry, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The food was absolutely delightful, with a variety of flavorful Indian dishes that truly stood out. Each dish was fresh and well-prepared, with the right blend of spices that left a lasting impression. The ambience of the restaurant was equally enjoyable. The decor was cozy and inviting, providing a relaxing atmosphere perfect for a casual meal or a night out with friends. It had a nice balance of traditional and modern touches, which added to its charm. However, the one downside was the service. While the staff was friendly, the service was a bit slow, which affected the overall dining experience. It seemed like there were delays in bringing the food to the table, and the waiting time between courses was longer than expected. Despite the slow service, the quality of the food and the inviting atmosphere made it a worthwhile visit. I would definitely recommend Indian Kaffe for anyone visiting Pondicherry, as long as you're not in a hurry!
Gaurav V — Google review
Visited Indian Kaffee Express after seeing on Instagram, one of must visit places for breakfast. The ambience of the place was good. We ordered for Chilli cheese toast which was amazing and tasted delicious. French toast looked lovely as in the seen the pics which was served with some salads and french fries but sadly the French toast didn’t taste good. The bread wasn’t soaked in properly, it was dry from inside. The manager spoke to us and he was kind enough to give us discount for 2 French toast and also took the feedback positively. We have definitely tried much better French toasts than this place as the manager said we were the first ones to complaint about this. Rest of things like French fries, salad and chilli cheese toast was good.

One of the silent and neat cafe in Pondicherry right inside French colony. It will close by 9pm so need to reach early. Only problem parking in road side and it may attract fine. Lasangne and chicken sandwich was really tasty.
Ginto P — Google review
We have been coming to this place for years, but sadly the standards seems to have declined gradually over time. The interiors are still pleasant. The food though visually appealing, misses the mark taste - wise. We ordered the English breakfast, Kafe Mocha, Mushroom Omlette, French toast and Waffle with ice cream n Nutella. Kafe Mocha was the only highlight. English breakfast was decent. The rest of the food was a disappointment. Mushroom omelette wasn’t fluffy and had uneven salt - some bites were too salty to eat. Both the flavour and texture seemed off. The waffle was chewy and slightly burnt on one side. And the spread didn’t taste like Nutella, more like a cheaper version. The French toast was an utter disaster. It was neither soft nor moist like a French toast should be. Also I fail to understand why every dish including the English breakfast came with a side of French Fries. It felt unnecessary and out of place. The washroom was under maintenance and the hand wash area wasn’t clean. Overall, a totally underwhelming experience and we do not see ourselves returning.

An Indian French style cafe with good ambience but very high price, like a a lime is cost 150 Rs..!!! So just aware that this is very very cosy place but you can sit and relax and enjoy the calmness.. Good portraits and structure with english touch in the architecture..
New T — Google review
Have been visiting this place since 2015 on an annual basis, and over the last few visits there has been a sharp decline in quality. Ordered English BF, mushroom omelette, waffles with Nutella and French toast. The omelette was slightly burnt and salty in bits, Nutella was substituted with some cheaper product, and the French toast was not properly soaked. Also why add cheap fries and peanuts to every dish? The place also lacks proper upkeep, with wash area being outright dirty. This was once our favourite spot for breakfast in Pondy - sadly those days seem firmly in the past.
Ramesh M — Google review
We went for breakfast. Ordered an English breakfast and open toast sour dough mushroom sandwich. The food tasted good. Quantity and quality worth the money. The service was slow. They gave us the English breakfast first which was for my husband. He had almost finished eating his dish and my dish had still not come! 🤷🏻‍♀️

The Coromandel Cafe is an upscale eatery that offers a charming atmosphere and locally sourced ingredients. Housed in a historical French colonial villa, the cafe serves a fusion of French and Italian cuisine with dishes like green chilli, curry leaf, and goats cheese tortellini or spicy grilled prawns. The cafe also offers freshly baked pastries and a variety of dining options from traditional French steak to warm croissants or pain au chocolat for breakfast.
Visited The Coromandel Café in Pondicherry and absolutely loved the place! The café has a beautiful vibe — calm, green, and prettily done interiors that make it perfect for a relaxed meal. The service was friendly, and the food was served on time despite the café being quite busy. I started with the Pesto Chicken Pizza, which had a thin and crispy base with a generous layer of fresh pesto and tender chicken pieces. The flavors were light and refreshing — perfect if you enjoy something herby and not too heavy. Next came the Mac and Cheese, and this was the star of the meal! Creamy, cheesy, and baked just right, it had that perfect comfort food feel. Easily one of the best mac and cheese dishes I’ve had anywhere — worth visiting the café just for this. The Tandoori Spiced Butter Chicken was a nice Indian twist in a continental setting. The chicken was well-cooked, mildly spiced, and went perfectly with the creamy butter curry and rice. A good balance of flavor and presentation. Finally, the Spicy Chicken Burger had a juicy patty and fresh veggies. It was quite tasty and filling. Overall, The Coromandel Café offers a great mix of ambiance, flavor, and quality. Prices are slightly premium, but the experience makes it worth it!

I think this place is living upto it's hype. You look for any youtube travel channel or any other social media about pondicherry, this place features. We went there after lunch for desert and coffee, it was full but they are well organised. They called us after 15-20 mins wait. The ambience is cool with trees in the middle and seating is pretty nice. We ordered pista cake, apple pie and a Capachino.it took some time but not that too much. We liked everything thing. This place is a must visit - for whatever time. Lunch/Dinner/coffee, it works for everything. Menu is extensive!!

Coromandel Café, White Town — every corner here is pure aesthetic and perfect for photos! The café has multiple sections — a lovely outdoor area with plants, cozy indoor seating with a restaurant vibe, and an upstairs space with a vintage café feel. Each corner has its own unique charm. We had a great experience here! The food was amazing — we tried the Mediterranean Pizza (so good, especially with the Greek dip!) and the Mason & Co Chunky Blondie. The blondie was nice, though I wish it was a bit softer. The pizza, however, was absolutely perfect. The service was good, and overall, I was really impressed by the café’s aesthetic and warm vibe.

Incredibly difficult to find a spot. Would recommend making a reservation, otherwise, be prepared to wait for a table. Old-world, mansion-style lighting and decor greet you inside. We ordered the pork chops, grilled fish, and a grilled pineapple and chicken salad. Variety of dishes is somewhat limited, but the food is good and service is very prompt.

Terrific ambience and super fast service. Loved the vibe at the cafe especially the outdoor seating area. Coming to the food, I ordered a crispy aubergine roll which I expected would be good but didn't have much taste and the sauce served with it was a little too tangy. The caramelized onion and goat cheese pizza was fantastic and had the perfect balance in taste and uniform spread of ingredients. The dough was well fermented, airy and crispy which made the pizza very enjoyable. Though a little pricey, I would rate it a 4/5 on the food and 5/5 on service and atmosphere!

A very famous restaurant in Pondi. One can give it a try if they have the patience to wait. Ambience is great with both indoor and outdoor seating. The washrooms were well decorated and clean. Food is tasty but a bit pricey. Chocolate macchiato is a must try if you love coffee. Service is a bit slow.

Good French cafe which has a beautiful interiors coupled with trees around, there is a bakery. You get only Jain pizza if you are a Jain. They have a whole variety of menu catered to veg and non veg dishes. Coffee was good. Nutella donut esp for kids. Good place to hangout.

The best place to sit back, chill, and truly spend quality time with your loved ones. Whether it’s a lazy brunch, a quiet coffee, or a romantic dinner, this spot delivers it all. The setting gives off absolute French vibes — elegant, lush, and full of character — and the taste lives up to it. Every dish is thoughtfully crafted and deliciously plated. ✨ A must-visit if you’re looking to soak in the charm of White Town in style. Go for it. You’ll thank yourself later.

Le Petit Four is a charming café located in the White Town area of Pondicherry. The café exudes a relaxed atmosphere with its cozy and aesthetically pleasing corners, making it an ideal spot to unwind. The staff members are known for their warm and welcoming hospitality, adding to the overall inviting ambiance. Visitors have praised the quality of food at Le Petit Four, emphasizing its appealing presentation and delicious flavors.
I came across a beautiful almond flour gluten-free cake on Le Petit Four’s Instagram from five years ago and instantly knew I wanted it for my father’s birthday. I reached out and spoke with Mohammad, who informed me they had stopped making that particular cake. But after I shared how special it was for us, he graciously agreed to recreate it and even customized it further by topping it with fresh fruits, just as I had requested. A huge thank you to the team for going the extra mile. This cake made my father’s birthday truly memorable.

Seating capacity is very limited. The food is okay-ish when compared with the cost. The cheesecake was a bit too sweet, so was the hot chocolate, rest all was okay. Try it if you're around, just ask the guy to limit sugar in anything he prepares for you.

La Petit Forte is a tiny spot, and I mean tiny - with just two tables and four chairs. It's the kind of place that makes you wonder what all the fuss is about. And honestly, some of the hype is a bit much. Their mini macarons, for example, were pretty disappointing. I wouldn't recommend them. However, they do have one thing going for them: the cold coffee. It's genuinely refreshing, with a really nice, creamy texture and a good balance of coffee flavor. It's definitely the highlight of the menu. The pastries were decent enough. Overall, La Petit Forte feels a bit overhyped. If you're really craving a good cold coffee, it might be worth squeezing in. But otherwise, it's a pretty average experience.

Beautiful cafe with mirrors on the roof and the walls. Tasted Beef steak and virgin mojito which were just ok only ; very expensive. The salient feature of this cafe is their vibe and customer service which was commendable. Entrance was beautiful; like a French house.

I’ve had a mixed experience at Cafe Le Pettit Four. The cheesecake and Korean burger were good, which brought me back to try the twister and whole wheat bread. While the twister was good, the bread was a big letdown — soggy, undercooked, and had a strong smell, likely from uncooked fermented dough. I hope this can be improved, in future.

Our visit to Bread & Chocolate in Pondicherry was an absolutely memorable experience and one that we would happily recommend to anyone visiting the city. We went there for dinner with friends, and from the ambiance to the food, everything hit the right note. The café has a warm and inviting vibe with minimalistic decor and a charming, European café-style aesthetic. Despite being crowded and busy, especially during peak season, the place didn’t lose its cozy feel. There was a long queue, and we had to wait for more than 40 minutes to get a table — but honestly, it was worth the wait. We tried a variety of items and were thoroughly impressed. The sandwiches were absolutely delicious, made with fresh ingredients and presented beautifully — true to authentic French-style café food. The sourdough pizza was another highlight; the crust was perfectly baked, and the toppings were fresh and flavorful. And of course, we couldn’t leave without trying their coffee, which was rich, well-balanced, and a perfect complement to the meal. The staff were polite, attentive, and well-organized, managing the crowd quite efficiently. Despite the rush, the service was smooth, and we were made to feel welcome throughout. Overall, Bread & Chocolate is a must-visit café in Pondicherry. Whether you're a fan of artisanal bread, great coffee, or simply love a relaxed, charming setting to enjoy a good meal, this café ticks all the boxes. Just keep in mind that during peak hours or tourist season, it does get very crowded — but if you're patient, the food and experience more than make up for the wait. We left happy, full, and already planning our next visit!

The cafe is located on roofed on the first floor, light music and the cool breeze made up for a great ambiance. This is Cozy Spot for who loves Continental Food. We ordered below dishes; MOROCCAN CHICKEN TARTINE - Bread with chicken and veggies along with their special sauce. CROISSANT - Croissants were baked to perfection, with the perfect crunch outside and tenderness inside. CAPPUCCINO - It was a perfect cappuccino. SPANISH LATTE - All the items were delicious. What really makes the experience stand out is the staff - welcoming staff with attentive polite nature. I recommend this place for those who are looking for relaxing dining experience with great and calm company.

They have two branches — one in Auroville and one in White Town, Pondicherry. The White Town one has a better vibe, bigger space, and feels like a proper café. Since it’s a tourist spot, you might have to wait around 30 minutes or more, but the service is good and everything’s freshly made. I tried their Tropical Smoothie Bowl — totally worth the hype, super yummy! My friend loved her order too. Overall, a really nice experience.
Subhrankita P — Google review
Too good a place. Very mild music played so could work comfortably too .food is tasty , fresh and the staffs give good recommendations or suggestions for selection. But priced on a higher side. Just a simple sandwich coats close to 400 rs . Quality of the Restroom can be improved.
Jayanthi G — Google review
I first visited Bread and Chocolate when it had just opened, and back then the ambience felt spacious and pleasant. Over time, especially on weekends, the place has become quite congested. It seems they have added more seating to manage the growing crowd, which has slightly reduced the earlier charm of the space. That said, the food remains excellent in taste , consistently flavorful and fresh. However, the portion sizes feel on the smaller side compared to the price, which could be improved. Service is commendable; even during a busy weekend visit, we didn’t have to wait long for our order, and the staff managed the crowd efficiently. Overall: A great spot for quality food with reliable service, but be prepared for a crowded ambience on weekends

Had a great experience at Bread & Chocolate! The food was outstanding—especially the sourdough pizza, which was perfectly baked with a rich, tangy crust and fresh toppings. Every bite was a treat. The service was equally impressive. Staff were attentive, friendly, and quick to offer helpful suggestions. Whether you're stopping by for a full meal or just a pastry and coffee, they make you feel welcome and well taken care of. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Pondicherry who appreciates good food and warm hospitality.

The restaurant has a lovely ambience and modern design, perfect for casual dining or a relaxed evening out. I had their steak (medium rare, I believe)—juicy and well-seasoned, definitely enjoyable. One of the most horrible places to have your meal in Pondicherry. Food is burnt, cold and not worth the hype. Don't get blinded by the photos you find on the internet. Cherry on the cake is their service, one of the worst experience you will have in your entire life.

A beautiful scenic cafe located in the heart of pondicherry . Surrounded by lush greenery this place offers a scenic view to enjoy . You can discover hints of French architecture here and stunning shades of white . Brimmed with variety of European and Indian food this place has a lot to offer. It has an aesthetic decor and is a very instagrammable place . The place has its own charm and won't fail to mesmerise you This said , the place gets pretty crowded and it's hard to find a seat in the rush hour therefore take your time and visit this place . Felt like they could improve their customer service a bit which would further elevate the place Coming to food , we tried the pizza which was pretty good and authentic and filling . Didn't like the desert much and felt it was pretty overpriced Overall the place would be considered a high end one from the cost of a basic coffee to a full meal This place is also known as coromandel cafe .

Ordered caramel biscoff cheesecake 1 kg for my niece birthday. The cake was amazing. The taste is good. The cake wording was perfect at the shop but during transport I don't know how the words got jumbled. I was holding the cake, the cake was intact and there was not even a single structural defect but the words alone got jumbled. I guess it got melted and moved due to the caramel layer. The cake tasted good but unfortunately it was the words that got jumbled.

Tried the apple pie from Hot Breads. It had a lot of nuts in it, which was interesting, but the taste wasn’t very smooth or satisfying. Felt like something was missing. Also, the price seemed a bit too high for what it was. I felt that the taste of the food was influenced by the paper box used for packaging. The cardboard smell affected the flavor of the food items.

Many foreigners frequent there. It was a Saturday morning & I didn't find any of the breads/puffs, loafs on display fresh enough or true to the the reviews. Quaint little cafe set on a quiet street serving delicious food! Went here upon a recommendation by the chef at Chez Artizan. The place is run by women coming from vulnerable local communities. I ordered some French toast with Beetroot detox juice and a croissant just for sampling. Everything was quite delicious! Though the croissants at Baker Street might have an edge over these. I was greatly impressed with the idea of having the place run by local women trained in French baking arts. Remarkably noble venture! The seating is upstairs and is quite rustic. The staff is extremely polite and courteous. Definitely worth trying!

On my visit to pondicherry this is one of the cafes that I have visited. In one look, fell in love with it's aesthetic ambience. I had breakfast from here, ordered fruity pancakes with maple syrup. I recommend this place to all people who are in to small, aesthetic cafes, were you can dine in outside. This is the right place for you.

They really have good pizza and most importantly the size of pizza that you would get in small size is perfect for two hungry stomachs. Nice cozy pizzeria. Rustic ambience, delicious wood fired pizza, nice staff. The thin crust pesto chicken pizza was very good. Enjoy your time here while in Pondicherry. PS- the drink was a super disappointment. The lemonade was nothing but a very low quality nimbu pani. It was overpriced too.

All the pizza variety was good to taste. Serving was fast. Pasta was not that tasty and I tried two of their varieties, white and red. Also I tried their Ice tea and it was awesome. I could not consume everything so the balance they packed for me. Street parking only. Easily locatable. Good ambience.
Hitesh A — Google review
I ate here both the days I had been in Pondicherry. Looved it! Pizza is hands down absolutely amazing here. I tried different Mojitos as well, but the star of the gluttony was their thin crust, wood fired, heavy on the toppings succulent pizza. This place is cute, cozy, tucked at the cross-section of two streets. There was seating arrangement for solo travellers like me, the thing I adored the most about this place. The boys are efficient at their best, humble; but for some unfathomable reasons, they are painfully understaffed. Actually at the week at the year-end, Pondicherry is buzzing with tourists, so this placd should have been prepared on that front, but they weren't, which baffled me. They were trying their best, but due to some reason, availability was an issue too. I didn't get to taste Chicken Lasagna both the days. The food alone doesn't make up what you are, the experience that customers take with them, make up what you are, just like this review, my fellow reveiwers' review is making one. So guys, your food is amazing, just manage yourselves well. Hoping for a flawless food experience the next time I visit Pondicherry.
Shraddha B — Google review
One of the best places to have authentic wood fired pizza in Pondicherry! The pizzas they have are really good with thin crust and nice lemonades to add. When I visited pre-covid they were at a different place. Now they have moved closer to the beach road and exactly opposite the Governor's office and Bharati Park. The location is prime, but the place became a bit congested. The place is small. When we visited now (Aug 2023) for lunch there was a power outage and their inverter was also down. Had a horrific experience, eating hot pizzas in the afternoon heat without even a fan!

Awesome bakery shop. Good for breads, pastries, cake, and other bakery items. Friendly staff and they have nice seating area. Foodies should visit this place and enjoy different varieties of pasteries and snack items. Also don't forget to try their cappuccino coffee..

They have chocochip cookies, japanish cookies, plain and chocolate cakes paked. Plain maringue and almond rocher. They have variety of croissant, quiche , donut, pasteries, tarte and eclaire. They will get fresh order for party cake and provide you in minimum of half hour. Cost seems less when compare to it's competitors.

This is the perfect place if you want to satiate your sweet tooth. You have a variety of pastries, cakes, tarts, cookies etc to choose from. The snacks and drinks are good as well. Been there twice and definitely more visits are in store.
Jaya D — Google review
This bakery has excellent bread, pastry, snacks, sandwiches, tea, and coffee. The service is quick and efficient and the seating is conducive to views and conversation. The cookies are superb for take away. One can choose to sit on the sofa or chairs, both are good.
Srini — Google review
Food is not good, if you are looking for a meal. The quality is average, but there is a wide variety of options. However, their snacks are pretty okay. It's pretty cheap too.
Noel A — Google review
A variety of delicious doughnuts, patties and coffee are available here at pocket friendly rate. Ambience is good but seating capacity is very small. Good part is that it is on main road.
Saurav G — Google review
Bon Bakes has become Daily Bread. A friend had shared a chocolate eclair purchased there, and I was hooked ! The chocolate was smooth and yummy, and since there have been more visits. I have had only the eclair, so am w*o comments on their food or other offerings.
Chandra R — Google review
Bon Bakes is long gone, the place has been bought over by Daily Breads. Nevertheless the differences between the two places are indistinguishable! Great service and great breakfast spot. Their coffee wasn't the best but their pastries and baked goodies are pretty good!

Ordered Blueberry 3kg step cake for a birthday party. Rates are very reasonable. Cake was excellent and appreciated by all the guests. Delivery on time and packed very neatly.

We have ordered a cake for my daughter's first birthday. As we are very excited about her first birthday and strived hard to make it as a memorable event. So, we searched for best in everything. While searching for cakes, we got DL cakers. We went there and ordered for a cake. They have given us a warm welcome, offered a piece of cake, staff are very kind and showed the model cakes. They are very open for our expectations and ready to provide any type of combination we need. Based on their approach, We expected a much expensive cake, but the rates are comparably lesser than leading cake shops in the city. We have given some model pics also to them and asked for the same design. Even after that we don't have trust that the cake will come as per our expectation. But, the cake they delivered was more than our expectations. It was made very artistically by skillful persons. The Barbie doll was brilliantly colored. The fondants are superb and the cherry border was awesome. The taste was simply delicious......Everybody just loved that cake... Thanks to DL cakers for making our little princess first birthday a memorable one with the fantastic cake......

When I asked for money, they are not picking up the phone and did not reply to whatsapp as well ..they make you pay and dont deliver .never buy from him..
