Tallahassee Museum is a 52-acre lakeside site offering wildlife encounters, nature trails, period exhibits, and zipline tours. Visitors can also explore the area's history at Goodwood Museum & Gardens and Mission San Luis. For outdoor enthusiasts, kayaking down The Wakulla River or enjoying treetop adventures at Tree-to-Tree Adventure are popular options. Additionally, there are indoor attractions like the Museum of Florida History and Tallahassee Automobile Museum for history buffs.
When I visit Tallahassee, FL, this place is always a must do and see!! If you like zoos, this is probably one of the best, but you won't see every animal like you would at a regular zoo!! This is a State Park, and they take in wild animals that may have been injured, abandoned, or whatever else may happen to the wild animals in their natural habitat.
Melaine S — Google review
It was absolutely beautiful. I loved seeing all the buildings. It was rich with history. There were also classes for kids, a playground, zip lines for adults and children. I loved seeing the different animals, the trails and the dinosaurs made from I think car parts. We got to pet a snake as well
BoopyBunBun — Google review
It's not the kind of museum we're used to; there's a lot to see, and you can walk around and enjoy it. But I noticed that the animals need more love; the felines are very thin I don't know if it's because of its age; I think it has a lot of potential, and they could improve many things like the park, the walkways, and the environment for the animals. My family had a great afternoon. We couldn't get into the restaurant because it closed at 4, we thought it closed a little later. You can bring your snacks if you have a stroller be patient because sometimes the path is not appropriate. The dinosaur sculptures are fabulous, well worth a visit.

We've skipped this place on several visits to Tallahassee just due to time constraints but boy did it deliver when we finally made time for it. Our kids LOVED it. It's a perfect mix of history, activities, nature walks, animals and more. It's highly rated for a reason. The ropes course for kids was very cool. The adult one looks awesome but we didn't get a chance to do it this time.
Dennis F — Google review
It was great! Very hot, but a nice mix of nature and history. They had a great event with local beer and local music tonight, Swamp Stomp. Will definitely be back next year!
Trace J — Google review
We went on the off chance and really didn't know what to expect. Wow. What a surprise, the animals were so visible and it had a super relaxing feel. Great to stroll through and the informative exhibits were engaging. Definitely recommend for 3plus hours. Superb value!
Debbie W — Google review
Took a trip up from PCB. New to Florida, so it was great to see some history & wildlife about the state. Clever to do both in one! We are a military family & we went on Labor Day, we got in free!
Whitney L — Google review
Did the tree to tree canopy tour. Soar through the cypress swamps, tree top to tree top like Tarzan and Jane (before me2 made it creepy). The full tree top rope and zip line course costs about $55 and takes about 7,200 seconds or 120 minutes or 2 hours for those who don’t do math. Michael our guide was the best. Plenty of speed and altitude to the zip lines and lots of cool obstacles to transverse. Concurring the course with the right people and energy is a game changer.

Mission San Luis is a fascinating re-creation of a 17th-century colonial village, offering visitors a glimpse into the intersection of Spanish and Apalachee Indian cultures. This living museum, founded by the Catholic Church in the 1600s, features costumed experts who bring to life the experiences of Spanish settlers and Native Apalachee inhabitants. Visitors can learn about church services, agricultural practices, and daily life during this historical period.
This is an excellent place to stop in Tallahassee. It has enough to do to spend the whole day, but it's also small enough to spend just an hour or two and feel like you learned something with your time. Definitely a place to bring the whole family! The young lady in the Spanish house was especially personable and fun to talk to. Unfortunately, we did not have much time as we were driving through. But as retired military, they let my daughter and I in for free. I hope to learn much more about Florida's history in places like these.

This was really neat, plenty to do for a long day but we arrived late in the day and were still able to enjoy it for a shorter time. It’s a beautiful walk and well maintained exhibits with a friendly staff.

Absolutely incredible. Loved the blacksmith area and guy. We got to do a hands on demonstration. He was friendly and knowledgeable and it was just fun in general. Just a very cool place if you love history.

I recently visited Mission San Luis at 2021 Mission Rd, in Tallahassee, FL. I spend a nice afternoon walking around the property of this Mission. There were volunteers in most of the buildings that has a large amount of knowledge of their area. It was a very good experience.
Greg K — Google review
An absolutely phenomenal experience. We enjoyed everything from the short film, to the fort. The staff were wonderful, the exhibits and information were very educating. Was overall just an amazing experience and would highly recommend to visit if in the area!

We took our dog and kids here, it was really cool! The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The kids had fun looking around the exhibits and learning. It is very affordable for the whole family and I love that we could bring our dog.

We loved learning about the history of our home state. The staff was friendly and helpful. We attended on homeschoolers day and enjoyed an educational "mystery" where the children searched for clues. The setting is lovely too, Spanish moss sways from the old Oaks. We enjoyed the whole experience very much.
Beth — Google review
Great place to visit, and it was very educational. The volunteers were all very knowledgeable about the history of Mission San Luis. The palm thatch roof of the Council House had been removed for routine maintenance.

Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park in Tallahassee is a must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts and families alike. The park boasts meticulously maintained gardens, scenic trails, and opportunities for swimming, fishing, and kayaking in the nearby lakeshores. For a small fee, visitors can explore the enchanting secret garden with its ivy-covered brick walls and admire the picturesque turquoise reflection pond. Nature lovers can also hike along two captivating trails that offer stunning views of Lake Hall.
Absolutely worth going. I was just passing through trying to do something at the moment and I came across this beautiful garden. The lady up front very wonderful lady at the visitation station where you begin a walk in the garden absolutely wonderful as well. I can't wait to come back.

I recently visited the Mackay Gardens State Park at 3540 Thomasville Rd, in Tallahassee, FL. I had a very nice afternoon walking around this property. It's a very nice walk walking along all the ballast bricks on the sidewalk. The person at the entrance gate told me all about them. Some beautiful views as well.
Greg K — Google review
A bit of wildlife, cute house, and a few blooms. I will return in the spring to see it again. The trails were very nice to walk, but very crowded.
J R — Google review
Had my wedding there, it was so gorgeous and beautiful! Highly recommend! My wedding was on in September 20 of this year 2025. Couldn’t have asked for a better location.
Taylor P — Google review
Glad we found this nice park on our trip to Tallahassee. Lots to do here including hikes, garden walks and some nice photo ops. Even had an encounter with a pretty large silk weaver spider. Apparently they are harmless so no need to worry. Keep moving throughout as we found the hiking trail that goes around the entire park (about 3 miles) when we were ready to leave. The Alligator warnings were concerning, but no different than the bear signs up north, so just stayed alert as we hiked. All in all, highly recommend this park. I would call the hike low on the difficulty scale. Also you probably could bike it as well as it was pretty flat. There was a small entrance fee to the park (~$4 per person).
Rohan C — Google review
the parking and map were confusing to figure out :( i spent like 20 mins trying to find parking for the trails and not for the gardens, the directions are really ambiguous on what’s a road for cars and what’s a road for walking/biking. overall there’s not really much to do here unless you pay extra to go to the gardens, but it’s nice to be in nature regardless. i saw a cool bird so it was fine
Vishnu G — Google review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A gorgeous, well-maintained place with stunning photo opportunities — we saved so many pictures to remember this park!

Visitors can watch the skilled candy makers hand-craft confections using Victorian-style equipment from the late 1800s.
Such a unique place to visit for a quick bite or ice cream and check out their collection of toys for sale. My wife and I had breakfast there and it was SO GOOD!!! I definitely recommend you stop by if you’re in the area!

I got ice cream from them - SO GOOD. Their ice creams are delicious. They have cool trinkets, games, and more. I bought an expansion to a game I have been looking to get for SO long - I was amazed they had it! Such a cute place to go!

We saw this place on the show The Foods that built America and decided to try it out. We live in FL so it was about a 3.5hr drive for us. The service, atmosphere and food was 10/10! We ordered steak and French fries. For dessert we had ice cream. My husband had mint chocolate ice cream and I had cookies and cream.
Ashley G — Google review
The casual arrangement of items, including Marvel toys, for sale made it a very attractive and appealing place to bring my child. It put me in mind of a library... brightly lit and spacious, yet compact. The cashier was very friendly and immediately made himself accessible if needed (ie I did not feel rushed to select an ice cream flavor but I also did not have to flag him down). Overall, a great place to relax and have a sandwich or ice cream with a close friend and family member. If you're a coffee fan, try the Java ice cream. It was awesome.
K P — Google review
Excellent ice cream - lots of flavors similar to old school Baskins. Great tunes playing on their sound system. Need to try their breakfast next.
Erich B — Google review
We brought our grown son here for ice cream on his birthday. Staff was very friendly and efficient, helping a steady stream of customers. They even comped the birthday portion. Very sweet of them! The store is amazing, they make their own candy, too! You gotta swing by this place! Tell them Patrick sent you!
Cheryl V — Google review
There is nothing quite like having breakfast while you watch hard candy (image candy) being made the old fashioned way. The food is good, and you can buy Lofty Pursuits image candy while you're there, but if you are lucky enough to catch the start of the candy making, you won't want to leave.
Sheridan E — Google review
This was giving mom and pop vibes. Everything was fresh and homemade. My daughter had a root beer float the root bear was on top made to perfection. I had the classic traditional banana split the whip cream was even homemade. My son had a 2 scoop cherry oblivion waffle cone. Never had that ice cream so delicious. The staff was on point. Definitely recommend and will be back again.

Overall, great potential in this area. If you are someone that loves to explore unique clothing pieces, black owned small business, or unique art pieces, this area is definitely worth exploring. I love the garden wine bar (definitely not the name), also bought a few items in the markets. Wished I was there long enough to try the Jamaican food spot as that jerked chicken smell was on point 🤤.

I love coming here to walk around and look through the shops or get food. Other Side Vintage is great for window shopping. Tallulah is great for the vibes. First Fridays is always a good time. Flamingos takes a long time to serve but the food is DELICIOUS. I love railroad square!

Omg, too much to see. This will be a destination day trip again in the future. Most shops don't open until 11 am or 12 noon. Went to the Vintage Shop, bookstore, another vintage shop, Artxnikki, Cosmic Cat Comics, etc. Bought an album of The Coasters. Met Linda at Gramma Shop. Walked and looked at all the art on the warehouses. Very pleasant place. Lots of parking.

The Florida Historic Capitol Museum, located in the iconic old capitol building on South Monroe Street, offers a journey through Florida's political history. Visitors can explore the 1902 Governors office and former chambers of the House of Representatives, Senate, and Supreme Court. The museum features a collection of artifacts, photos, and interactive exhibits that showcase the building's significance in Florida's government.
This building is beautiful and very historic. (It's a shame they replaced the one building that represents the entire state of Florida with a giant gray concrete rectangle.) But this old Capitol building is open to the public and was converted into a very well managed and informative museum. Unfortunately, though, you can't go in the dome like most other capitols.
Noah D — Google review
Really nice museum with lots of interesting information on the history of Florida and its politics. Loved seeing the old governor’s office, senate and house chambers. Museum is free and staff is friendly.

I had a very nice visit recently at the Florida Historic Capitol Museum at 400 S Monroe St, in Tallahassee, FL. It's a very nice place to come visit and get a history of this former capitol. It's an easy walk around and many stops to read about it history. Well worth a visit.

The museum offers the opportunity to learn about Floridas history. Free admission, knowledgeable staff and a huge exhibition. Note that you’ll need to read a lot, there’s no audio guide.
Vanessa P — Google review
Every time I'm in town for work, I have to explore the history of Florida. Such an interesting and educational experience. It's a Must DO ...
Michele G — Google review
It is a shock to see the outside atmosphere of Tallahassee and the outside of the old capital building as it is very rundown, but they turned it into this capital museum which is being renovated on the outside so that is a good thing because it is in desperate need of that. The new capital building next to it doesn't look any better, however, and it is a shocking thing. This is my first visit to the capital area, even though I am a resident of 15 years of Florida, which is crazy thing to say. But besides the outside, don't let that get to you because the inside of the capital museum is beautiful and is highly informative and is worth seeing at least once. Be ready to read a lot and just stare at the portraits and architecture features inside it is just amazing.
Melissa L — Google review
This is a MUST if you are in Tallahassee! The museum is clean, informative, and just big enough for a few hours of free educational fun to learn about the history of our great state and nation! I only wish I had visited sooner!

Visitors can delve into the state's native cultures, wildlife, and colonization history through more than 40,000 artifacts and permanent exhibits. The museum showcases evidence of past and present cultures in Florida, including the influence of Spanish, British, French, and Confederate forces on the region.
Our whole family had a wonderful time at this museum. There was so much much information and the exhibitions were top notch. The museum is large but not too large. It's probably more than what can be properly seen in a Day but you can see enough to truly enjoy the experience!
Aida — Google review
Great little museum. We went during construction so the route was a little wonky but there were some very inventive displays. Free museum but welcomes donations and is deceptively packed with items throughout Florida history. Well worth the visit for visitors of all ages. Pay close attention to the tourism display for some awesome memorabilia from tourist attractions of the Sunshine State's past.
Nick U — Google review
Given that this place is free to visit AND park in the garage next door (with token from museum), I can’t complain. The kiddos (all under 7) enjoyed doing the scavenger hunt, but probably didn’t pick up much of the history. There are lots of random things to see in here. This is a great spot to go during the heat of the day to stay cool. Drinks, even WATER, is not allowed inside, so chug before you enter. We were forced to leave our bottles at the desk and pick them up on the way out.
Jeremy G — Google review
Great way to get a historical overview of Florida! …and it’s free! (donations gladly accepted), they will even validate your parking. I went to see the state share of the 1715 treasures fleet, but there is so much more! Saw some children doing a scavenger hunt so I think they have something for all ages.

Give yourself plenty of time to tour this excellent museum. The extensive history of Florida from prehistoric times up to the present is illustrated with many life size exhibits and artifacts. This is a fantastic museum for all ages and it’s free.

Excellent place. You're greeted by nice, knowledgeable students. They'd answer your initial questions. Next, the museum is truly amazing. Very well organized, informative, has all aspects of Florida history. Not to be missed.
I P — Google review
It's a wonderful museum. I loved learning more about the state I know call home. I loved the village displays and all of the wonderful hidden nooks. My favorite two are the riverboat and Granny's attic. I definitely encourage people to visit!
Rebecca R — Google review
We didn't research this visit much but saw it was recommended. Both our boys (10 and 12) enjoyed the museum with different parts being hits. Even grandma's attic was a hit with some fun moments. Way more to see than my photos, a ton of history from the early native America days, through Spanish occupation, statehood and World War II. The surf display was a nice bonus. You can easily use up 2+ hours here so I'm guessing it would range from 1-3 hours depending on your speed. Definitely worth a visit. The parking is $5, but free if you get a token from the front desk. Total cost, $0!

Huge, beautiful plantation with plenty of exhibitions of Old Florida. Although we didn’t go into the museums ($12/person) we enjoyed walking around and taking in the peaceful gardens with the beautiful weather. If I lived in Tallahassee, I would come by and buy the plants and herbs they were selling, they had so many varieties! Can’t wait to come by again.

We didn’t get to see the inside of the house since we got there just after the last scheduled tour but from the photos it looks like it would be worth a visit as well. A lot of history in this place from around 100 -115 years ago that is being restored. Unfortunately, some of the gardens look quite neglected and the greenhouses fallen down and unrestored. Other than that, lovely place!

Such a peaceful and historic spot in...! The grounds are beautiful with big oak trees and gardens that feel a little wild but charming. Walking around is free, and if you have time, the house tour is worth it the guides are knowledgeable and bring the history to life. They also host weddings, events, and even community gatherings here, so it has a nice local feel. Parking is easy, and there’s even a little coffee spot on-site which makes it a perfect place to spend an afternoon.

This is a former plantation marketed as a wedding and party venue. It’s absolutely inappropriate and downright ghoulish. Historical trauma shouldn’t be repackaged for leisure or profit, no matter how carefully the optics and historical engagement giveback are showcased. To host soirées atop grounds steeped in human bondage is a prime example of bourgeois leisure and genteel revisionism at the expense of those still suffering from the Capital city’s commitment to antebellum attitudes.

Visited the Goodwood Museum and Gardens while I was in Tallahassee. Took the tour and loved it. The gentleman who was the tour guide was fantastic... best tour guide I've ever had for a tour like this. I believe he is a member of the restoration committee and had done a great deal of research on the home and its previous owners. Incredibly interesting.

We attended an Edgar Allan Poe Speakeasy event at Goodwood Museum, and it was beyond my imagination. Absolutely outstanding performance by everyone, exuding talent and drawing me in to each reading completely. 🖤 The cocktails were divine and the price for a night out with my partner was completely reasonable. Can’t say enough! 10/10 would go again!

I had a baby shower here last weekend and I was very pleased with the cottage and the staff. I cannot recall her name but the staff person was amazing. She assisted us with the decorations when she saw we needed help. And she also helped with the clean up. She was great! I would recommend this place to everyone who would like a nice, historic, clean venue to host a celebration.

Definitely get the tour of the main house. Otherwise it's just a small park. The tour is fantastic! It was about 75 minutes. But you can't take photos inside the main house. Which is very unfortunate. The other buildings are okay. They have been repurposed for offices or storage. So there's nothing to see inside. One of the buildings is being turned into a restaurant. Which I'm looking forward to.

The Tallahassee Automobile Museum, also known as the Tallahassee Automobile and Collectibles Museum, is a car-themed institution located in Tallahassee, Florida. Initially showcasing DeVoe L. Moore's 15-car collection, it now houses over 160 iconic American automobiles, including Abraham Lincoln's carriage and three different Batmobiles from movies like Batman Returns and Batman Forever. The museum offers a glimpse into Americana with its extensive collection of classic cars and other collectibles.
The Tallahassee Automobile Museum is a must-visit for anyone who loves vintage cars, history, and unique artefacts. As we wandered through the exhibits, I was captivated by the incredible collection of classic cars, each with its own story to tell. But what truly made our visit special were the eclectic archives and displays. From the dinosaur egg to the vampire kit (yes, you read that right!), every exhibit was a fascinating glimpse into a different world. The Elvis and Marilyn Monroe memorabilia were also a highlight, showcasing the iconic style and charm of these legendary figures. The vintage cars, of course, were a major draw. The attention to detail and care taken to restore these beauties to their former glory is impressive. Each vehicle is a testament to the craftsmanship and innovation of its time. If I have one suggestion for improvement, it would be the lighting. Some areas of the museum could benefit from brighter, more focused lighting to really showcase the exhibits. Despite this minor quibble, I'm so glad we visited the Tallahassee Automobile Museum. The sheer variety and quality of the exhibits make it a unique and engaging experience. Whether you're a car enthusiast, history buff, or just looking for something different, this museum is definitely worth a visit. I'll be recommending this place to friends and family, especially if you like movie cars like batman!

Very nice collection of cars. All are Concours level original or restorations. The Bugatti 57 blew me away. Not many left in existence. Same with the outboard motor collection on the second floor. Was only planning to spend 2 hours here, but ended up spending nearly 5!

It was absolutely magical! I didn’t expect such a huge variety of exhibits. I’m still amazed, even a week after visiting! Be ready to admire everything… but don’t touch anything 🤣. Honestly, it feels like they have absolutely everything here!

My husband is a complete gear-head and I swear he could be a tour guide for this museum 😂🥰 we spent an entire day here and he was absolutely ready to go again! 😂 Our daughter loved it too. She's the one who requested to go. There is sooooo much more than automobiles too! Sports memorabilia, antiques, dolls, race boats, boat engines, taxidermy, collectibles, and so much more! It must update/ change frequently too, because our daughter went a year or two ago and there was so much more and new things everywhere that she said they added in since her last trip here. You do get a wristband, so you can leave for lunch and come back if you want to. Definitely plan a full day for this place. Maybe more if you are a gear-head or married to one 😜

I was excited but also unsure what to expect when we pulled into the parking lot—it looks like just another big building from the outside—but once inside, I was blown away. This place is packed with classic cars, from really early models (like late 1800s) to muscle cars, and even a few Batmobiles. What surprised me most, though, was all the other stuff—vintage cash registers, old typewriters, knives, pianos, even outboard motors. It’s like walking through someone’s massive, quirky collection of Americana. We spent about 1hr hour here and still didn’t see everything. If you’re even remotely interested in cars, history, or just cool old stuff, this is absolutely worth a visit. The staff was friendly and happy to answer questions, and the place was super clean and well organized. One of those hidden gems you wouldn’t expect in Tallahassee. They are dog friendly and offer military and senior citizen discounts. They do also have a small gift shop too!
Peter A — Google review
Nice collection of cars with several limited production ones in the collection. There's a collection of farm equipment in the back along with a Divco milk truck and a 6 passenger short bus. Upstairs there are more cars, a small motorcycle collection, a NASCAR, mini race boats, and the Batman collection. Then it gets weird. There's outboard motors, model trains, calculators, cash registers, non playable arcade games, creepy dolls, grand pianos, tons of pocket knife displays, golf clubs, baseball memorabilia, football memorabilia, a washing machine, a telephone switchboard, and all kinds of "one man's treasure".

Nestled in the heart of downtown Tallahassee, the Challenger Learning Center of Tallahassee stands as a tribute to the legacy of the Challenger shuttle. This impressive 32,000 square-foot facility is part of an international network dedicated to inspiring students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) fields.
Although the planetarium was closed, I had one of the best times I've had in a long time. And I was by myself. I've always walked by here without looking in. I've driven by, and just wondered also. There was a person this day who provoke me to go in. She said she was into science and that sparked my scientific background itch. I'm not the biggest astronomer, but somehow I realized i needed to see inside. They have a nice little snack shop and the smell of popcorn was driving me insane. Yummy. However, I walked around instead of eating and saw a store store where you can buy many different things related to space..Yes, there was much more than that. They had small models of the moon landing and also astronaut suits and much more The planetarium itself was being renovated or worked on. But I snuck a peek inside and it looked amazing.. I know, because I've been to two othe planetariums in my lifetime. It's very clean there ( bathrooms included). In that respect I would give them a 9 and 1/2 out of 10. I would recommend this place to anyone. I will go back and probably go again with someone that really enjoys science or having fun. Check this place out/ Call ahead just to make sure the planetarium is open and book a trip there. See you in space my friends. See you on the Oort belt. To infinity and beyond. LOL

Best place to see the IMAX without insane crowds. Staff is friendly and helpful. This is definitely a gem of town. Local events here are always well run. Bring your own cup and you get can your drink in it.

I was very disappointed today. We saw online that an age appropriate movie for our grandson was playing at 11am in the planetarium. When we arrived we were told that the movie was not playing today because a talk was being held in the theater. We were told we should call before going to make sure the movie was still playing. Then why post a schedule if I have to call each time I want to go to the theater. It was difficult trying to explain to a three year old, he couldn't see the movie. We really enjoy the LC and pick it over other theaters. Today was very disappointing.

This is a great place with multiple museums related to space science and astronomy, entertainment corridor for meetings, assembly, learning opportunities, imax movie studios, light refreshments, adjacent to this place is huge parking and big restaurants too. Nearby this place there is main public library of the district. Our Sunday visit was calm and peaceful around the busy business hub of the area. Must explore this!

We visited the Challenger Learning Center with our Summer Program. We had a group of 160 and the employees were awesome. They were ready with carts for our coolers of packed lunches and drinks. We went to the IMAX theater first then the planetarium. Both shows were informational and educational. The kids (Pre-K - 5th grade.), loved it. Everyone greeted us with kindness and respect. They made us feel welcome. We'll definitely visit again. 🩷 Melrose Park

Lake Ella, nestled within Fred Drake Park in Tallahassee, serves both aesthetic and practical purposes. This 12-acre lake not only adds charm to the surroundings but also functions as a flood protection system for the area. A popular spot since the late 19th century, it attracts locals and visitors alike. The nearby Black Dog Cafe has been a favorite haunt for coffee enthusiasts since 1997, offering a scenic patio overlooking the lake.
Lake Ella is absolutely gorgeous. Very cute walking path and lots of seating options. Picnic tables are located around the whole lake. There’s a ton of adorable shops. There’s also a gazebo and I love gazebos.

Very pleasant to walk around with many ducks making it very pretty. The water was very clean and clear. I've seen a big golden fish too. We had a relaxing morning sitting on one of the wooden swings and sang to our heart's content. There were tiny shops and eateries too.

Nice place to have a walk around. Not so big. Ducks (a lot, don't feed them!!), trees, free planking lots. Good views. Sometimes few homeless stops by the picnic areas in the west side and use them al the time. Nice little shops around. The near black dog bar is a good point to start the circle. A cicle group strata from there.

Lake Ella is a picturesque park that’s a must-see gem during your stay in Tallahassee. It’s situated in Lake County, Florida, and offers an array of fine dining and accommodations. The park is the ideal choice for a tranquil stroll or exploring the cottage stores surrounding the lake. The park is an ideal spot to unwind away from the hustle and bustle of urban life. The park boasts picnic shelters, a paved walking trail that encircles the lake, and a site for community activities. You’ll also catch a glimpse of some of the local wildlife as you stroll around the lake, especially the variety of ducks. If you’re going to visit, you can walk or skate around the lake. Lake Ella is also host to a variety of local events including regular food truck events, holiday celebrations, concerts, and seasonal markets.

The Knott House Museum, originally built in 1843, is a historic home turned museum located on East Park Avenue in Tallahassee. It holds significance as the temporary headquarters of the Union Army and the site where Brig. Gen. Edward McCook read the Emancipation Proclamation in 1865, marking an important day for Florida's slaves.
I took an Urban Sketching class I teach from the Tallahassee Senior Center there. We enjoyed the exterior because it was closed. But I must say that this area has some of the most beautiful architecture in Tallahassee. The turn of the century homes with gorgeous details and lovely lawns. Large oaks with moss and ferns adorn the park across the street. That block between Gadsden and Monroe at Park right at the east end of the Chain of Parks is a show stopper!

Just a beautiful example of PRE statehood architecture of a home build by a free black carpenter as a wedding gift for a white owner. Florida was awarded statehood after this house was built and the Knott family kept the original furnishings and wall paper (in the main hall only) when they gave the entire house to the government. Picture a home as a time capsule from 1928 to 1941! The outdoor kitchen and bath from the original 1843 home has been moved inside then left alone. Mrs. Knott did a great job decorating the house and even wrote poetry for many pieces of furniture. She was very active in prohibition and sufferage.Mr. Knott was in the government accounting. FREE admission but bring a good donation. It is worth the 2 plus hour guided tour.

I'm DEFINITELY with @Anthony Barney. It may be nice, it may be the largest; however, we will never know. We spoke a very helpful and informative mechanical engineering student who gave us great information. He was in the middle of studying for a thermal exam, but took time to assist us. He was so very helpful. He suggested we go over to the high magnetic laboratory to see the magnetic and then tour the classes. Welp, when we entered the building, the security guard Justin, looked at us and continued his conversation. Once he finally finished his conversation, he said yes, what do you need. That irritated me but, I let it go. I informed him we were doing a self guided tour today with FSU, our son is majoring in engineering, and that one of the students suggested we come here to tour the magnet. He said, um no. That tour needed to have been scheduled 3 weeks ago or we should have come yesterday. People were working and doing research and that wasn't something he could allow. I asked for his name and he provided it and then asked anything else. I really wanted the hateful, nasty Janise to come out, but my son was watching and I wanted him to see how he should handle someone like "Justin" when his intelligent, educated parents weren't with him. I told Justin his name was enough. Hence this post. Even if those were the guidelines, it could have been given in a better way. Do better!!

Dog owners can enjoy the exclusive dog park with their furry companions. Additionally, visitors can explore lakeside nature walks and relax in the vast open green spaces.
Beautiful park with paved walking trails and wooded trails for pedestrians and bicyclists. Lots of open areas to play or relax and also has a pretty nice sized playground. The dog park is usually busy with plenty of happy pups enjoying the well designed layout. Restrooms could be a little cleaner, but not bad for a busy public park. Park has a family friendly vibe here especially on weekends.

My granddaughter loves this playground. I like that it has the astroturf and is soft underneath so falls aren't painful. The park and restrooms are clean and well kept up. Shade areas and shelters there, but none overhead this playground, so it can get hot. The other playground by here does have more coverage and a water feature to keep cool. Amazing is the only way I can describe my first visit to Fun Station. I was very impressed by the information provided on the board about things to do. The checkout experience was so easy, simple and pleasant. The mini golf was so much fun. It was a great time and you get in some exercise. The go carts were zooming around the track. It will satisfy your need for speed. There are also batting cages for those who want to get in some practice. The arcade section was top tier. There are so many games and not just regular games, but awesome games. I would definitely recommend checking this place out. There is so much to do you won't be disappointed.

Looks can be deceiving! On the outside, I thought this was going to be a JOURNEY. But when I went in, it was different. An armed cop (looking back I don’t know if that’s a good sign), large prize deck, many selections of games, fresh food, birthday party and seating areas. Mini golf was old. Some holes a bit torn up. Go-Karting had a great track and good quality. Batting cage a bit crude but still enjoyable. Was it the best? No. But I see no reason to hate on it.

Ummmmm I'm just gonna say this. Kids love this place and I was happy to see my grandchildren enjoy themselves. The only complaint I had is the bathrooms was so nasty and old I still feel sick. Imagine having a wonderful time at a Venue and have to use the bathroom and have to hold your tail bone up in the bathroom like a restroom Olympics 🤣🤣🤣The lady that took my payment gave us a scary story why they changed the age for the go carts which was the main reason we came...she was giving Adam's family vibes but other than that it's a wonderful place to go to. Just use the bathroom before you come. Thank me later🤮

My eldest son wanted to treat his little sister to a fun birthday(their birthdays are a day a part 10 and 29) so he took her to Fun Station his favorite place to spend a couple of hrs. They had the best time. The best big brother a girl could have.

First time as a group and was nervous! However, we did a walk-in 15th birthday party for 10 guests and the experience was perfect! The teens had a great 4 hours playing games, laser tag, and riding go-karts. Plus, I spent less money here than when I rented a spot for my 16yo and the guest had more fun. Additionally, it was a worry-free time for me as the only adult chaperone. I felt that the kids were safe w/o my trailing them around. I sat at a table that I was allowed to decorate and had a moment to myself. Management and staff were welcoming, helpful, and very professional.... This will be our go-to destination for future group activities!!!

We enjoyed our visit. We were able to order our food and then they called her number when it was ready. I had pizza, hot dogs, soda, and a bunch of other snacks. They had a lot of games. Some of them offered tickets, and some of them were for entertainment purposes only. One or two of the claw machines rewarded a member of our party who played it several times with decent payoffs. We loved the Minecraft video game. It rewarded those who played with a card which would allow them to customize the gaming experience. The Justice League game does the same. There were a few machines not working during a visit, but no more than your average arcade. They had a birthday party going during our visit upstairs. They also have batting cages, go-karts, and several other outdoor activities which we were not able to try out on this visit. Everyone in our party had a great time.

Fun Station is an oldie, but goodie! Took my daughter and her friends here for a birthday party. They had a blast! They have very reasonable prices and offer different Bday packages. Great place for kids and adults. Don't sleep on their pizza it was surprisingly really good. It will cost around 18 bucks though. If you want to win lots of tickets for you or your little ones play the Nerf gun blast game. I was able to win over 2000 tickets!

WOW what a hidden gem. Nestled in the city limits of Tallahassee is a Archeological Site that opens your mind and senses. Lots of trails, and old mill site. The Pavilion is a wealth of information. The Frank Lloyd Wright Spring House is a house in Tallahassee, Florida, designed by the architect in 1954. The location and views are considered to be some of the most beautiful in Tallahassee. The house was once owned by Clifton and George Lewis, two civil rights activists who were central to the movement.
My girlfriend and I have seen 100+ FLW houses (some of them only by driving by of course). We’ve toured most of the famous ones too. I can tell you, if you’re a FLW fan, this is the BEST tour you’ll ever do. Byrd is an adorable person. She makes you feel at home. She tells you interesting stories about her family and the house (FLW designed Spring House for her parents and she has lived there since she was a kid). This is the only FLW residential project in Florida and one of the only two pod-shaped houses he ever designed. The house is beautiful and, in contrast to other FLW designed house you can tour, here you can actually feel that homey charm. This tour is a total privilege, I can’t stress that enough. Do yourself a favor and go.
Ch C — Google review
VERY interesting house and tour! Both husband and I drove away super pleased with the experience. If you have any interest in architecture, go see this fascinating home! Make contact for tour through the website, following the instructions which seemed confusing but were actually easy. Plan ahead.
Mary N — Google review
I recently visited the Spring House at 3117 Okeeheepkee Rd, in Tallahassee, FL. I had been awaiting this visit for weeks so my time finally came. I had a great experience with the tour I took with docent, Victoria. It was great to see and tour one of Frank's houses that he designed. I hope the best for it as it has co.s up for sale and needs some work to get it back to what it once was
Greg K — Google review
This is the only private home designed and built by Wright in Florida. I can think of no one who could have given a better tour than Byrd Lewis Marshburn who lived there with her parents and three brothers. Well worth the time and money!! (Private and small group tours are available; we did the private tour-just delightful!!)
Betty S — Google review
A fascinating structure that needs our love and support: Schedule a tour if you can! As others have mentioned, Victoria is an excellent docent: Her knowlege of - and respect for - the house and its history are most impressive!

An opportunity to experience a Frank Lloyd Wright home in Florida, tallahassee! If you like Frank's work you love this home. It accomplishments his vision on connecting the home with the natural landscape.
Hector C — Google review
I am sure the house was great at one time but the current condition is so very very sad. The modern plywood and non original materials are very obtrusive. So much rotted wood. I know they are trying but this house needs serious renovation.
James F — Google review
This was such a unique and wonderful experience! I have toured a number of Wright homes and buildings but our time at the Spring House was unparalleled. It is incredibly special to be able to experience a Frank Lloyd Wright home through the eyes of one of the people for whom it was built. Byrd, one of the Lewis children, gave us a fascinating tour of this FLW gem that was generously peppered with personal stories of her childhood there. She was incredibly hospitable and kind and we were greatly moved by the work that the family is doing to preserve the house. This is such a worthy project and one that all lovers of important architecture should support. This tour is a don't-miss!

Pool and activity pool are nice. That's where it ends. Staff and rules are insane. I hope my tax dollars don't support this. They block off the big pool for swimming laps at all times so anyone over 7 has no place to play.. Also is Florida.. If there is lightning within 50 miles they close pool. They do not give you a refund or a voucher for another day. They just steal your money. It's been 2 hours since they stole my money after playing for 15 minutes. The pool is still closed and it still has not rained or lightening. Very rediculous. Staff was super rude.
Tresa F — Google review
The activity pool is nice, but the hours are insanely backwards. Being often open only from 12-4 is like saying your toddler will not only need to skip their nap, but we would also like them to suffer hear stroke. Seriously, what are you guys thinking? If the timing were to help people without AC, they wouldn't be charging an admission fee. Backwards.

My son’s 7th birthday party here, and Kaia, Jordan and Nick were just amazing in helping facilitate the process of herding wild children to and from. They helped me so much with setup, party flow and cleanup. I’m so grateful and will recommend this experience to anyone needing a child’s birthday party.

We had the absolute BEST experience at Urban Air for my goddaughter’s birthday party! From start to finish, our party host Marceli went above and beyond to make everything smooth, fun, and stress-free. She was friendly, attentive, and incredibly patient with the kids—always making sure everyone was having a great time and that all our needs were met. The party area was clean and well set up, and the activities kept the kids entertained the entire time. I especially appreciated how Marceli kept everything on schedule, helped serve food and cake, and made sure the birthday girl felt extra special. Thank you, Urban Air, for helping us make such unforgettable memories. We’ll definitely be back for more fun!

She made our visit unforgettable, and we’ll definitely be coming back because of her! PS: She definitely deserves a raise for how good of an employee she is!

Urban Air is such a fun spot. The price isn't bad at all especially considering the value you get-- but that's primarily if you go for a membership and attend somewhat often. Also, the staff really make the experience great. Katie has helped me a few times during my visits, and she’s always been super friendly and patient. She explained things about the park in a way that made everything easy and stress-free, which I really appreciated. It’s clear the team and management here cares about making sure guests have a good time.

We decided to bring our kiddos here a couple days ago to help jump out all that energy before they go back to school! The place was pretty busy, which is to be expected during Summer. I love to see older high school kids having a place they want to come for some good, safe fun! However, I do wish there was a bit more of a separation between them and the younger kids. Even so the staff was very accommodating and patient with our younger kiddos. We had a great moment with one staff member, Kemal, who was very patient with our little ones who needed a bit of extra time to navigate the rock wall. The children had fun despite the few challenges, and that's what’s most important. So, we will certainly be visiting again!

My daughter loves going here. We have a membership and go all the time. The staff is super nice and are always trying to keep the little ones safe. Staff member Katie is exceptional! I see her all the time trying to keep order in the super busy areas and keep the little ones from being trampled. The membership was a good purchase as it has kept her occupied a lot this past summer.

The park also features a splash pad for kids, exercise trails, open green spaces along ponds and fountains, picnic areas, benches, restroom facilities and exhibits.
Came here for a cooldown after a longgg week. Ended up enjoying myself a ton! The outdoor decor and infrastructure is unlike anything I’ve seen anywhere else in Tally, and the lake views are gorgeous. Definitely a good place to come for a picnic. Also had lots of fun learning about the historical side of Tallahassee!

Had a great time visiting this park with the family while we were in Tallahassee. It was clean, well-maintained, and made for a really nice spot to walk around and relax. Even though we went on a weekend, there was plenty of parking available, which was a pleasant surprise. The only downside is that it could really use more lighting at night—it gets pretty dark. Other than that, everything was great. I’d definitely come back for another stroll if I’m ever in town again.

We have been going to Cascades Park downtown for at least the past 4 years and love it. Beautiful park, awesome amphitheater (wish it was used more often), wonderful walkways, pretty pond, and delightful views of downtown (especially during stunning sunsets). Our very first concert in the park! We recently decided to make Talley our home and absolutely 💯 LOVE this area of Florida! Our Golden Retriever does too! This was her first time at the park too. This dog friendly park and atmosphere is so nice. Just one of the million things to do in Tallahassee. People are very friendly and you feel safe. The park is clean and everyone keeps it that way. It is so refreshing to be able to enjoy a night in the park with music and community together without fear. Their was even law enforcement visible during the entire event patrolling calmly throughout the park in case of any emergency a community member may need assistance with. Honestly, unless you looked, you wouldn't even know they were there. It was a wonderful experience we will be looking forward to attending.

Madison Social is a popular restaurant located in the vibrant College Town district of Tallahassee, Florida. It offers clever pub fare in a cool, industrial setting with a covered patio, making it an ideal spot for brunch with a lively atmosphere. The restaurant is known for its delectable food such as the famous spiced honey chicken and waffles, along with a variety of drinks including mimosas.
Our daughter goes to school at FSU. She was getting married and we called about doing a reception party/gathering with her friends to celebrate. (This was after calling multiple places that didn't even call back) Spoke with Rachel right away. She was GREAT! So easy to work with and great communication. We decided to rent out the side room with an open balcony. The rental, food choices, and flexibility were great. We decided to do a sit-down dinner and then open for social events afterward. When we get there they even had menus with there names on them and everything set up ready to go. We had 2 servers who were also amazing and did a fantastic job. Once the social event started, workers were on it!. From set up, service, attention to detail, accommodations, breakdown, and everything in between, it was done with ease. If I could give them 10 stars, I would. Our daughter had an amazing time, and I can't thank them enough. I would recommend them to anyone I could.

Jake I can say without hesitation that Jake Panzella is the best bartender I’ve ever had the joy of being served by. From the moment I sat down, Jake’s energy, professionalism, and effortless charm set the tone for an unforgettable experience. He’s not just slinging drinks — he’s crafting experiences. Jake’s knowledge of cocktails is next-level. Whether you’re ordering a classic or looking for something off the beaten path, he nails it every time. He remembered my favorite drink after just one visit and somehow made it even better the second time. But what truly sets Jake apart is his personality. He’s warm, attentive, genuinely funny, and treats every guest like they’re the most important person at the bar. It's rare to find someone who can keep a whole crowd engaged while still providing personalized service — but Jake makes it look easy. If you’re lucky enough to be at a bar where Jake is behind the counter, stay. You won’t find a better bartender — or a better vibe — anywhere else.

As y’all can see, food got demolished. I didn’t even think to take a picture of it when it came out. I literally just started munching away 😭 this was before and after my last bite lol was super good - I had the Good Day Toast & my boyfriend had the Chicken & Waffles, both were phenomenal and the service was lovely even with the post-church rush. This was our first brunch at MadSo but it for sure won’t be our last! 10/10 would recommend.

Very mixed. The building is nice. 😎. The staff seemed uninterested in customers. I got a nice fish sandwich and 2 beers. I had to flag down the server to get a 2nd beer. They were very energetic to get a card to hold as I guess it must be normal here to skip out on the tab. The glass was dirty they brought for my beer…. I stopped her from pouring the beer to get a clean glass…. Beer abuse! All you need to do is look at it when you pick it up but that’s means a server has to give a shit. No one picked up anything including dishes that where sitting around or empty cans. The food was ok, nothing great but not bad. Beer is beer. Dirty glasses and staff that seem to not give a rip leave a lasting impression. I would skip it and find someplace else with personality. $14 sandwich, $8 beer. I guess that’s the norm but 👎 from me.

My daughter recommended we check out Madison Social this week, and I’m so glad we did! I was craving sweet potato fries and a margarita, and both absolutely delivered. The food was delicious, the drinks were really good, and everything came out in a timely manner. What stood out most was the service, every team member who stopped by our table asked if we needed anything else, and we felt completely taken care of from start to finish. My husband’s beer came out a little warm, but when he kindly asked for a colder one, our server quickly fixed it with no issue. Great vibe, great food, and great service. We’ll definitely be back. So impressed.

I’ve always really enjoyed the food and atmosphere at your restaurant, which is why I continue to come back. However, I’ve consistently had a disappointing experience with one particular server who I’ve been seated with multiple times recently. On several occasions, I’ve waited over 10 minutes just to be greeted at the table by Kai, even during times when the restaurant wasn’t busy. Service throughout the meal such as placing orders, receiving drinks, and getting the check has taken unusually long, often stretching the visit to over two hours. I’ve also frequently had to flag the server down just for basic requests like water refills. While I understand that every server can have an off day, this has been a repeated issue that’s impacted the overall dining experience. I’m sharing this feedback in hopes that it can be addressed, as I genuinely enjoy the restaurant.

Tallahassee is a hub for craft beer, and Proof Brewing Company is at the heart of it all. Their EightFive-O and Mango Wit are popular choices available in cans and on tap throughout the city. The brewery's spacious taproom & biergarden offers a great setting to enjoy these brews. What sets this place apart is its family-friendly environment, with an outdoor area designed for kids to play while parents relax with a cold beer.
I recently visited the Proof Brewery at 1320 S Monroe St, in Tallahassee, FL. I had a nice experience at this brewery. It's a large interior space with plenty of seating. I got there early and was able to have a nice talk with the bartender. A very nice place to enjoy on of their varieties of beer.

We had an out of town family get together at Proof yesterday. While the chicken buffalo wrap was a 7/10 it was the bartenders attitude towards my relative asking if they carry any NA brews that was downright rude. Saying why would they carry those, and flaty laughing about it making for a awkward conversation. Thats fine, better be glad I wasn't there hear this as I would have certainly served a lesson on manners. Definitely not going here again.

A great little beer garden with a huge selection of beers. There are some surprisingly tasty beers offered here! It's nice to see some brews that nail the fruity touches that other beers try to get. The garden is nice, it has plenty of seating, but I can see how it could get full on a busy weekend. There is a ping pong table, giant connect 4, and the sack throwing game. All the staff that we interacted with from start to finish were lovely and very helpful.

Lake Jackson Mounds State Park is an archaeological state park located in Tallahassee, Florida. The park is home to several earthen temple mounds, which are some of the most important archaeological sites in the state. The grounds also include miles of nature trails and a variety of important sites from different periods in Florida history.
It is an excellent place to relax, with sounds of nature and a warm atmosphere. You can walk your pets and take your mind off the routine.

Offers various short and welcoming trails with an abundance of unique fauna, foliage, and pavillion for events. Truly incredible place with an overlap of history and nature

Good for walking in the woods. Needs some trail maintenance but the main area and restrooms are well stocked and clean.

came here for a project for my archaeology class and it was a nice outing and gave me something to do for the afternoon instead of sitting at home! i expected it to be bigger and busier but it was rather unpopulated especially for a weekend afternoon, i think only 2 or 3 other people were there and we were all just doing nothing. one of the mounds was inaccessible which is a shame bc it looked really cool :( it’s a nice place to visit if you like history, but i wouldn’t suggest planning your whole day around it unless you really like nature trails bc it’s basically just a big field in the woods (there were like 3 trails but i didn’t go on any of them bc im scared of getting mauled by a bear). overall its a nice place to stop by!
Vishnu G — Google review
This is a beautiful spot with 2 trails. The trails are the Butler Mill Trail and the Pecan Orchard Trail. I explored those 1st and got a nice leg workout, then I traveled to where the mounds were. The 1st 1 has an observation view where you can see the park and how the chief of his native people could overlook the area. If you go underneath the pavilion, there is a wall that gives you information on the Natives that lived in the area and what sat on the mounds. It was mainly an observation post for the chief but also a religious area for ceremonies, and the spiritual leader could watch the tribe. The 2nd mound I was unable to get to because the bridge was falling apart and blocked off, but I did, however, notice on the map it was ovsrlooking a Lake, so its possible they used the area to overlook the fishing and hunting going on. It's also a possible theory that they buried their dead in the mounds or prepared their bodies to float down the lake but only a theory. Anyway, It's definitely a go-to! I would recommend going!

I was there today for the first time in 3 yrs. Beautiful as always, but I was disappointed to see they have rerouted the creek that used to flow through the park to lake Jackson, has now been filled in. SMH. Water will flow downhill to the next source pool.

Peaceful. Loved the small elevation changes in the trails... it wasn't too challenging but it wasn't totally flat. Scenery is beautiful. The history is interesting. The mounds were built almost 1,000 years ago :) There's a $3 fee per vehicle. Dog friendly. Clean bathrooms. 👍

The perfect place for a Simple and quiet break. We were traveling through and it was beautiful greenery and trails. A small stream. Clean restrooms and Picnic tables to sit at and eat. Also larger pavilion that can be rented out. We climbed the stairway to observe the mounts. Make sure you take time to go to the pavilion to learn the history of the mounts. The nature was wonderful- butterflies 🦋 and room to run and have children stretch. Parking lot was large and plenty of parking. Donation system in place- make sure you support your parks. Water spigot for dogs to get a drink.

AMAZING PLACE! Genuinely such a good vibe & welcoming atmosphere. Came here with my friend to do school & study. Will definitely be coming back! Reagan was awesome! Such a kind person :) & the manager, Jose, came to check on us which was so nice. Love this place! 100% recommend.

I used to love coming here but I have noticed a decline in the food quality my last two visits. Unfortunately my most recent visit (7/12, I ordered the breakfast wrap) resulted in me getting food poisoning. I do want to say that this is not a reflection on the staff members who have consistently been kind, communicative and respectful. These things just happen at times and I hope it doesn't happen to anyone else.

Visited today for the first time and was immediately impressed with the vibes. All the greenery gave the place a fresh look/feel. I ordered the Sausage, egg + cheese everything bagel sandwich. So good! The young lady behind the counter was very nice + even offered us free samples of their new overnight oats! Very nice place for aspiring content creators as it is verrry aesthetic. Will definitely be going back!

Fresh, authentic, & savory! Got the buffalo flat bread and cesar salad wrap. So savory and good! Pineapple smoothie was so refreshing in this Florida heat. We tried a variety of the overnight oats - pineapple coconut, strawberry banana, and raspberry peanut butter were our winners! Such an healthier option if your searching for a sweet treat. The atmosphere is very calming. Nice quiet vibe. Staff was so nice and accommodating!

I had such a great experience at Power Plant! The tuna sandwich was absolutely delicious, gluten free, super fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. I also tried the BBQ chicken flatbread, and wow… it was next level. The sauce, the texture, the flavors, everything just worked. I really appreciate that they offer both vegan and gluten-free options too. It’s not always easy to find a spot that’s this inclusive and this tasty. Big shoutout to Brandon for being so kind and helpful, he made the experience even better. Highly recommend checking this place out!

I had the most amazing experience at Power Plant Café in Tallahassee! Despite the rainy day, the atmosphere inside was so cozy and inviting. I enjoyed a perfect matcha latte made with real matcha, absolutely delicious! I also had the pleasure of meeting Christian and José, the friendly managers, who were incredibly welcoming. The café itself is adorable, filled with beautiful plants and playing great music that adds to the laid-back vibe. It’s the perfect spot to relax on a weekend, whether you’re alone or with friends. Bradley's Country Store is a beloved Tallahassee institution known for its homemade bulk sausage, sausage links, grits, preserves, and other Southern delicacies. This historic landmark has been serving the community since 1927 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Many local restaurants feature Bradley's sausage, but visiting the store allows you to support them directly. The store offers local favorites like mayhaw jelly and wildflower honey for sale.
Fun, entertaining, store with great variety of meats, sandwiches, & souvenirs. Top notch classic Country Store/ General Store. Extremely rare these days!

Located 30 minutes (16 miles) Northeast of downtown Tallahassee is Bradley’s Country Store. Authentic and nostalgic, and home of the best locally-made sausages with a distinctive flavor and texture. Available by the pound as fresh or smoked, hot or mild, or ready-to-eat sausage dogs served in a bun in 6-inch or footlong sizes. Pork chop sandwiches are also available. Additional fresh by-the-pound meat options are pork loin, pork chops, bacon, and other pork parts. Jellies, jams, grits, pancake mixes, milk, farm-fresh eggs (sometimes), wide variety of sodas (root beer, orange, cherry, peach, cream soda), and a long wall of sweets and candies. Get you a sausage dog and a root beer for lunch and eat it on the porch in a rocking chair (with built-in drink holder). Locals enjoy the sausages grilled at the tailgate party in the stadium parking lot before the Florida State University Seminoles football games.

Best smoked sausage in all of Florida! Great little country store that dates back 97 years (you know they must be doing it right)! Been frequenting Bradleys since the early 1970s as a young child with my family! It was always a nice trip way out in the country to get a Nehi, old fashioned candy, a sausage dog and some country rind on bacon for a Sunday morning breakfast. In a world where everything changes, Bradleys has never changed and that’s comforting. I grew up in Tallahassee from Kate Sullivan, to Cobb, to Lincoln (go Trojans) to TCC, then FSU. Now I live on the Atlantic coast and I don’t like coming home because nothing is familiar. Bradleys is comforting because it is as I remember visually and taste wise. Of course I had to get some preserves and coarse ground grits! Very lucky to have such an amazing country store with old Florida charm. A trip to Capital City is not complete without a trip to Bradleys!! Shop Local, Eat Local! Florida Man Approved!

Store definitely gives you that back in day vibe. Has the old country like smell to it. I've always heard about their homemade sausage they have here. We stopped here for some of their sausage. They offer the sausage cooked or raw. I was pretty anxious to try one of these homemade sausages however I wasn't necessarily a fan. It kinda tasted like they had been boiled and all the flavor was boiled out.🙃 🙂 We did buy some to take home and will probably try them in the air fryer or on the grill. The sausage comes in mild medium and hot. They also have other smoke meats that you can purchase as well.. Along with a slew of other items.

Nestled in a rural area just a short drive during the park hammock away from Tallahassee sits the coolest historic store you will find in the entire state of Florida. Talk about a walk back into an earlier time, oh how I would have loved to have been alive during this era. Bradley’s will bring that nostalgic feeling into your soul as you enter the store and explore all the goodies. They have fresh meats, candies, canned products, Soaps and so much more. Sit upon the tractor seats and enjoy lunch and just reminisce back into time. This place does not disappoint.

A cozy and calm gem in Tallahassee! Came here to study with some friends and was greeted with a wonderful experience worth a lot more than that. Their coffee was wonderful and perfect for someone with a sweet tooth, and their pies are a great experience to try. I recommend trying any of their coffee with strawberry flavoring. I got their blueberry pie and a white mocha/strawberry latte. Yum! Additionally, the crowd this bookstore/cafe brings in is wonderful and pure! August 23, 2025. 😔 The worst thing to do is have a joyous adventure reading and buying books, eating delicious pie and drinking yummy coffee ☕️ 😋 and not taking pictures. My kids enjoyed the outing before going to the Rodeo in Quincy. We all enjoyed a delicious treat, but I only remember what I had because they were busy reading or playing a game. I enjoyed my coffee and the keylime pie, two slices...yummy. Sad to say we went back a couple of weeks ago in October and the keylime is out for the season. I choose the chocolate pie, but not as flavorful as the keylime. I highly recommend this small cafe because the selection of books, cards toys, etc...is endless. Truly a joy to go here. Thanks staff for being so kind and helpful.

This was a phenomenal circus! I highly recommend it to anyone and everyone! I am planning on going back to see it again next year! Pretty good. Definitely not Cirque de Sole. Hey circus... may I make two suggestions? Perform a sound check on all sides of the tent. I recently had the pleasure of having a work function/team building experience at Flippin' Great Pinball. We rented the arcade for an hour of unlimited arcade play and it was such a fun time for our staff. Our staff ranges in age between over 30 years from our youngest and oldest employee and every last person was able to enjoy their time. The mixture of pinball, older arcade, and newer arcade games gave more than enough choices for everyone to enjoy. I myself was happy to play some NBA Jams, among others. It was such a great experience from initial rental through the day of. They were not watching the clock for the exact minute our time was up, and if anything allowed a few extra minutes to wind down, let folks finish their games, and end without feeling rushed. I highly recommend a visit to this gem in Railroad Square for company events, kid's parties, or any gathering of folks that want to have a great time, not to mention just swinging in for a bit of gameplay outside of an event. It was Flippin' Great!!!!

My wife and I were looking for places in Florida to enjoy for a day vacation. She heard about Flippn' Great Pinball, and since we love arcades and video games. We stopped in Tallahassee, to try the place. They have a great set of pinball games, and other arcade games. There's one's from different decades, and genres too. They have a great atmosphere, and everyone is very friendly. They charge by the hour, and everything to play costs nothing during the hour. Which it's decently priced too. My wife and I also want to give a lot of praise to one of the employees there. Tommie was very polite, super friendly, and made sure if there was anything we needed to know, she would help. She also helped us out when I thought I had lost my wallet there. I thought I dropped my wallet outside, so we called to ask if she happen to see it. She went outside and made sure to see if it was outside. We did find the wallet in the car. I just want to make sure that people know that Tommie has been really wonderful, and she was willing to help any way she could. They also had only one hat left, yet she asked if they could sell it, and they said sure. Which I was glad, cause it's a hat that actually fits well. Also very nice quality too. I told her, that this will be a keepsake hat. She also made sure to take an idea that I had, for selling pinballs, and have them engraved with the store name. Which I'm very glad. 😁 I highly recommend this place to everyone that loves arcades, and great family atmosphere. They are a great business, and great for family and anyone who enjoys some old and new arcade styles.

The Tallahassee-St. Marks Historic Railroad State Trail runs 16 miles from Florida's capital city to the coastal community of St. Marks. Through the early 1900s, this historic railroad corridor carried cotton from the plantation belt to the coast for shipment to textile mills in England and New England. Officially part of Florida's Greenways and Trails System, this state trail also has been designated as a National Recreation Trail. This was the first rail-trail in Florida's system of greenways and trails to be paved, providing a scenic experience for running, walking, bicycling and skating. Horseback riding is available on the adjacent unpaved trail. Here, outdoor enthusiasts can hike a portion of the Florida National Scenic Trail, which joins the trail at U.S. 98 and continues south. At the main trailhead, there is access to the Munson Hills/Twilight Mountain Bike Trails in the Apalachicola National Forest. At the southern terminus of the trail, the coastal city of St. Marks welcomes trail users to enjoy seafood dining, fishing and entertainment and to learn about the history of the area at San Marcos de Apalache Historical State Park. The Tallahassee-St. Marks State Trail is a completed section of the developing, 120-mile Capital City to the Sea Loop corridor and is a destination along the Big Bend Scenic Byway.

Midtown Caboose is a laid-back, railroad-themed spot in Tallahassee, Florida that offers late-night dining with a creative menu of eclectic sandwiches and burgers. The restaurant is known for its inventive burger combinations, such as the PB&J burger featuring a classic patty topped with melted peanut butter, cheddar cheese, choice of house-made jam, and smoky bacon on a Kaiser roll.
How have I never eaten here?? This place has so many mouthwatering options. I got the goat cheese appetizer and the Mother of the Dragons burger. So delicious! The outdoor covered area was very comfortable with TVs and a full bar.

I recently visited Midtown Caboose at 1406 N Meridian Rd, in Tallahassee, FL. It's a very nice place with an interesting decor and I want out back to sit at the bar on the patio. The bartender and I discussed a couple of choices and I chose the cheeseburger that was really good. A very good place to go and eat.

It is very rare for me to open a menu and literally have 10 items jump out at me right off the bat that all Iook equally amazing. My husband wanted a really good burger so Midtown Caboose has been on our radar. We finally went and it surpassed our expectations so much so that both of us have been back three times in the past week! The first time I went I got the mushroom burger which was probably the best burger I have ever had. It was so moist and the portion was just right. I ordered coleslaw before seeing the sweet potato fries side and while the slaw is good, the sweet potato fries are to die for. The second time I went I got the meatball sub. It was just as delicious as I thought it would be. My friend ordered the popeye salad and said it was incredible, especially the dressing that comes with it. The chili was also amazing that we got for an appetizer. The margarita was great, there was a lot of pineapple in it and I’m not a huge pineapple fan so if you are, you’ll love it. This is my new favorite restaurant and my only regret is not knowing sooner how incredible this place is and all the calories I’ve wasted at so many other places in town.

Bar has no draft beer because the O2 system is broke! The soda machine is also broke so only water and tea for options. The outside wall fans are broke. Took an hour and a half to get served our food. I had to ask for a utensil to eat my food. Food was decent😀 Server was really nice but not trained whatsoever. On the way to our car the cooks were smoking pot next to the back deck. I had to explain to my son what the smell was 😢I think this is an extreme case of poor management! Obviously they don’t care about fixing important issues. This place will go out of business 😢

Buffalo chicken dip appetizer was incredible, but the burgers stole the show. I had The Sundance Kid, while my dad got The Mother Of Dragons. Perfectly cooked, incredible flavors!!! Absolutely go here for an incredible meal! I can't wait to come back!

Table 23 is a charming restaurant known for its cozy ambiance and Southern-style cuisine with a modern twist. Located in the heart of Midtown, it offers a degustation-style dining experience that showcases Tallahassee's food and culture. Chef Justin Brown's passion for using fresh, local ingredients shines through the frequently changing tasting menus, which feature surprising flavor combinations and intricate plating presentations.
My husband and I have been wanting to try this place. The only downside was that we had to wait almost an hour on a Friday night. However, we attempted to get a reservation earlier that day but they were already full! I got the redfish and it was so good! My husband got the coffee rubbed ribeye and he said the steak was good but it was unevenly cooked. We also got the house made chips as an appetizer and those were ridiculously good. However, those that like a quiet dinner, this is not the place for you! We couldn’t even get to the bar there were so many people, and it gets quite loud in there. The environment was fun and relaxing. The porch was where everyone wanted to be, so we were fine with our table inside, when though the weather was amazing. Overall, I would recommend but make a reservation in advance to avoid wait times.

Table 23 is a Tallahassee restaurant staple and it showed its glory during my experience! I ordered the Gulf Grouper with grits instead of corn and my visitor ordered the brisket tacos. Everything was very flavorful and delicious! The only improvement I have is the service. Our service was very subpar. We didn’t receive refills, bread requests, etc. in a timely manner but the larger party next to us did. We would appreciate that all tables regardless if they’re 2 people or 10 have the same service. Other than that, couldn’t be better!

The service from our waitress Lilly was amazing. She's knowledgeable of the menu and spot on with recommendations! The food was pretty amazing, we sat in the back corner by the fireplace, but we had to fight the occasional fly because it's almost by the back door to outside dining, lol! The atmosphere was a little dry, and multiple people stared as tho we were on display as opposed to their own! The 23 Burger was cooked to perfection, as well as the herb crusted chicken... We spent around $130 which was worth it to me for two people! I'd come back again probably with a different seating area, and less wasabi on my Blackened Tuna appetizer which the heat of it can totally sneak up on your taste buds mixed with the Bobby's iced tea drink, will fire up the ole mouth🥵🤭

I went here 08/09 for my anniversary. The food came out fresh, tasty and fast. Our server Jovana B. was so sweet and quick even letting us know something was missing and bringing it to us before we noticed. Thank you, definitely coming back !

If you’re in town and looking for some good food you gotta try Table 23. Perkins was the best! Very friendly and attentive. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was just as good. The covered deck had fans and was nice even on a hot June afternoon.

Best stadium in Collage football. The atmosphere was electric all the workers were great. The entry points were easy to get through and exiting was pretty easy as well.

The best stadium ever. I had the pleasure to go to gold west for all you can eat food great stadium chairs with it and it was In the shade. Gold west was the best experience I’d ever had in doak

The atmosphere was great for my first time against UM not the outcome I wanted but the food was great. I got a doak dog which was $10 after tax not too bad, got an alcoholic beverage frozen strawberry for $16 after tax not too bad was big in size nice mixture. And the pull pork combo with Mac and cheese and a large sweet tea for $25 now that one was iffy only because it was a small portion the burger was size of a cheeseburger from McDonald's and the Mac and cheese cup was a small as well even though it were small it was excellent in taste. I'd highly recommend and will go back to try other things. Would be 5/5 but that second meal option was too small for such a big price

So many people!!! The upper concourse was so full! At halftime they served hotdogs without buns then ran out of food completely. The stadium sound system is horrible. It was hard to understand anything they were saying.

Gameday at FSU! Before heading in check out the sod cemetery, statue of Coach Bobby Bowden, then scan your ticket. I liked the water fountain stations provided cold water. I bought 1 Dasani bottle then refilled up plenty of times during this hot afternoon game. Go Noles!

We had a great time with the FSU fans in the heat of the Florida fall weather as the Seminoles cruised to victory. The staff working the gates and all the service/vendor stations were polite and professional. Look forward to next time.

Maple Street Biscuit Company is a laid-back cafe that specializes in serving delectable biscuit sandwiches and Southern sides for breakfast and lunch. Located near the FSU campus, it's a popular spot among students seeking delicious Southern fare. The menu features indulgent options like The Five, a biscuit loaded with fried chicken, smoked bacon, cheddar cheese, and savory sausage gravy.
Upon walking up to the counter, the woman was helpful. Had great suggestions for substitution or additional. I ordered the Hash bowl. Oh my Gawd! So good and fresh. The goat cheese was creamy and made the dish. Can't wait to go back. Also, my first ever chai latte and it was dreamy!

Food was good but the wait was long. A cozy atmosphere but wish we had a picture menu bc we weren’t sure of what things looked like or the portion sizes. Overall a pretty good place. Service was mid and wish it was a little better. Not bad but super packed

We almost did not dine here because of the most recent reviews. We were told before placing our order the wait at 11am on A Sunday would be 45 minutes but we got our food in 20 minutes. Everything we ordered was delicious. The restaurant is counter service so not much to review there. Giving 4 stars because they were out of steak and the specific goat cheese topping for my biscuit prompting us having to choose something different. Overall glad we came!

Surprisedly good! Although the options are not plentiful, the items available are pretty amazing. The biscuit and hashbrowns 🤌🏿!!!!! Trust me...don't leave without ordering the hashbrowns! The setup of ordering and getting your food is a little different; but the food was reasonably priced and fresh. My only downside of eating in, is the tables were extremely sticky! Oh and the coffee is 👎🏿...but overall I definitely would recommend it!

Food and latte were good. I understand this is a college town but it’s pretty dirty. My kids chose where to sit and picked a window seat where we enjoyed the scenery of trash (not a restaurant issue obviously). Also, I tripped over a barstool as a roach spooked me 😂. Had to take a star off for this.

Friendly service and great food. I ordered a biscuit sandwich with a side of gravy, it was the perfect portion for me. Also the home made jam was the cherry on top.

Blah. Really blah. Promise with no bang. Sticky floors, dirty tables, empty bottomless coffee, and last minute a menu change telling us no waffles (the only thing my wife wanted from the menu) … and the food, BLAH. Salty Dawg Pub & Deli is a laid-back hangout offering a variety of pub grub such as wings, hot dogs, and traditional bar food. The atmosphere is family-friendly with options for entertainment like pool, darts, and weekly live music. Despite initial reservations about the appearance of the location, visitors were pleasantly surprised by the fantastic food and friendly service.
It wasn’t very busy when we came in, which made for a very relaxed atmosphere. Service was good, food was absolutely fantastic, especially for the prices charged. As college students, this is pretty much all we can ask for in a place to eat. Our server (I wish I asked for her name, she was wearing a pink cancer awareness shirt if you're the owner reading this <3 She had a favorite purple pen) was very kind, helpful with questions, and always there when we needed something. Attaching some pictures of what we ordered. For the record, there were six mozzy sticks in the order, but we'd gotten through half before I thought to leave a review.

Owner's awful attitude lost our business. Called in an order for pick-up for wings and fries - with two sides of blue cheese. At 620 pm. They said 20 minutes. We were across the street at Starbucks. Got there in 15 minutes. Hubby went to pick up window. Paid for everything- $40 - for 20 wings, one fry and two sides of dressing. He waited. And waited. 645 - order not ready. 655 order not ready. This is per their window person. I called at 710. Was put on hold for 4 minutes. This place is not that busy that they had to take that long to find an order. Hubby comes to the car with order at 714 as owner gets on the phone and starts yelling at me that he didn't get there until after 7. I watched him sitting by their window waiting. Owner lied, their customer service failed. Then owner started yelling at me because I was upset that our 20 minute order was almost an hour wait. We got cold fries, dried out wings and no sides of blue cheese that we paid for (typical of this place with to go orders). Owner is a friend of my hair stylist but it don't matter - she got nasty with me for no reason. There are other places to go to in this town. I'm not going to keep spending money at a place that can't even do a simple to go order right....especially when treated bad.
Lisa M — Google review
This is definitely a locals hole in the wall restaurant and in a good way. The food is your typical greasy bar food. Service is hit or miss. This time when we were here there were two servers with a lot of miscommunication. One brought us menus so the other assumed she was taking care of us but did not. Another table was sat and the server took their order while we were still waiting for someone to take our order. Had to say something for someone to finally come over. Then the fryer was not working so they could not fry any food so we settled for sandwiches. I love there fried mushrooms but of course could not have them this go around.

BEST wings in town! When I say I want em wet, this is what I mean! I traveled from Texas and made sure to stop in because you can't get wings like the Dawgs' anywhere else. Atmosphere is chill, staff is amazing as always and the food! Gosh, I wish we had a Dawg in Texas! 5⭐️ all around, 10/10 would recommend!

My son and I stopped here after a soccer game. The outside is a little dingy and we weren’t sure about stopping in, but we pushed on in and glad we did because the food was really good. A super nice server met us near the door and made us feel welcome. We got to hear the cooks bantering with each other, which was fun. We both had a house salads, shared crinkle fries, I had a cheese burger (no bun, total women thing) and my son had garlic Parmesan wings. The salad was fresh, the hot food was hot and delicious. Definitely a perfect post game meal.

Tallahassee, the capital of Florida, is steeped in rich history and heritage. The city boasts over seven museums that offer a glimpse into its diverse cultural tapestry. Among these is The Grove Museum, a meticulously preserved antebellum residence constructed around 1840 by enslaved artisans. This architectural gem showcases exemplary Greek Revival design and holds a place on the National Registry of Historic Places.
I was there for the hour long tour for Black History Month. The Grove is a gem tucked away just off of N Monroe Street easy to access, a really cool old house, LOTS of history and grounds that are open for humans and well behave dogs almost all the time. Recommend!

I really like this place. The museum is small but very well done with interactive exhibits. You will come away knowing a lot about the colorful past residents. The staff was friendly and helpful. You can also stroll around the peaceful grounds followed by the most Gray catbirds I've ever seen in one place. There are also Black walnut trees and cemetery is worth a look. Life was hard for kids back then. And it is free.

Free to visit. Interesting small tour covering two governors that were locals. Naturally being a family historian, I loved that they had little family graves not far from the house. You could also peek a view of the current governors mansion through the trees. Staff were very knowledgeable. Check the days that it’s open before you go.

Great place to walk around and see alligators, turtles and dogs. Easy walk with no elevation - nice views of the water - excellent trails. Better to stay on more walking than MTB trails to avoid bikes. I think we went 3 or 4 miles - there are restrooms at some of the areas and plenty of people so it feels safe.

Favorite trail in Tallahassee! You don’t have to head far in to feel like you’re in untouched wilderness. Plenty of options for biking, hiking, or riding horseback. Dog friendly for sure, bring your dog there is even a fountain for dogs there. Heading right when you enter blends seamlessly into Tom brown park through a gorgeous land bridge across 2 lakes and If you go straight there are miles of trails where you can see wild deer, turkey, fox and maybe even a swamp ape👣 😂 enjoy!

We went to J. R. Alford Greenway for a morning stroll with our baby. We took the Lafayette Heritage Trail Park path and it was an extremely enjoyable excursion! The path was wide and easily manageable with our stroller and there were a few rough and bumpy parts, but not many. We enjoyed our stroll through the exotic natural beauty of Florida with large moss-covered oak tree canopies, birds and wildlife nearby, and wonderful views of the wilderness. We went early in the morning in order to be done before the heat index got unbearable and we thoroughly enjoyed it. There were benches every so often along the path if you need to rest, water stations (for pets too), and my personal favorite part was going up and over the 30 foot tall boardwalk/pedestrian bridge that crosses over top of a railroad track and leads into beautiful view of the oak canopies and waterways. We will definitely return for more adventures in the future!

I came here with a friend to see the Christmas lights during the Elf Night event. The parking wasn't that abundant, but we were able to park in the church lot right next door and walk over. The entry way was nice, very bright and decorated with blue lights. Obviously it was night, so getting an image of the park as a whole was a little difficult, but from what I could tell, it was a nice, quaint place. I enjoyed it, and if you have a family or a significant other that you would like to take out to do something, this would be a great choice to make! It's not too big of a place, and you'll finish up in about 30 minutes or so, but make a few laps around and enjoy yourself for the evening.

You can go in and play with cats looking for their forever homes. When you first go in, it's a little coffee shop with cute seating and a bar against a windows that looks into their cat room. It's smart to book your visit into the cat room in advance, but you can go to watch them through the windows and drink coffee and sorted other drink any time. I had such a fun time and will be going back.

As far as food goes, not much can be said from the menu, drinks though, you've got a plethora to choose from, only giving it half 5 stats for food since it is mostly drinks, but the drinks themselves are phenomenal. Especially the Hot Chocolate and seasonal drinks. The atmosphere in the bar area is friendly and approachable, no one ever gives cold glances, everybody is always free to conversate. Along with the cat area, most of the cats are friendly and approachable, some may be hiding and others playing, plenty of seating for multiple groups of people as long as the cats aren't on the seats, I would be careful though since sometimes they can get feisty and scratch your hand if you're not careful. Toys are scattered around if you want to play with the cats too and there are a few games to play with friends too.

Some have been there a while, and it's fun to see familiar faces, but it's even better to see that a favorite kitty is gone because that means they've found their family. They're always bringing in new kitties, so each visit is special and unique. While there's a $10 entrance fee for the cat room, you can also just order a coffee and hang out in the cafe section. You will still see plenty of cats. The coffee and teas are great, and I have never gotten bad service here. Everyone is very friendly.

Relax and have fun with cats! It's a great place to go either by yourself or with friends/family. They are curious and most are playful (if they aren't napping). There are so many unique toys to engage the cats and spots for them to hide away. You can bring in a drink from the coffee area as long as it's covered & you stay by it. The cat references are so adorable! While you're in the cat area you can sit on the couch, chairs or at the floor. I had a great time in the relaxing atmosphere (never been to a cat cafe before). Also the staff is super sweet & even comes in to take action shots of the cats (unless they're more interested in the camera). One cat even snuggled in a jacket I set on a chair - so cute!

Tally Cat Cafe is a fun place to spend an hour of your day and play with a lot of cats! The people who work at TallyCat are always professional and friendly, and if they don't know an answer they will do their best to find out or give you contact information if you're considering adopting a cat. By visiting this cat cafe you get to help socialize cats and kittens, order alcoholic or non alcoholic beverages - some of which are from local businesses, and support Leon County Humane Society (a partnered agency). If you plan on visiting TallyCat, I highly recommend doing the reservation process as they limit the amount of visitors in the cat lounge. This is stated on their website as well and the process is easy! They also have a FAQ section to help you and yours prepare for the visit! They send receipts and email reminders as to when your visit is, which is great. The orange kitty in today's upload is Murphy!

If you're looking for some delicious tacos, Tally Taco Food Truck is worth checking out. They've got a wide variety of dishes to choose from, and the staff are always friendly and willing to help. If you want to eat outside, they have an amazing seating area too!
Tally Taco did an excellent job!🔥 I am very satisfied with all of my orders. Their tacos may look simple, but they are full of flavor. The burrito is packed with fresh ingredients and tastes amazing. I also tried their horchata, which is only available on Saturdays for $3 a big cup. It was fantastic—not too sweet and very flavorful.

How the young folks say it? This taco truck slaps hard yo!🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️😂 Got the Birria tacos with chips and that delicious white queso. The sauce has a little spicy kick to it. Love it! One of the best in the city by far!! Don't question it... go see for yourself 😋 Update: Still slaps!
Equanda F — Google review
Best Tacos in town. Taco De Birrea is excellent here than many other places. Their mangoes and elotes are superb. Highly recommended and must visit place. Their truck is very next to Orchid Thai Restaurant. You can park your car in the behind parking lot.
Nick N — Google review
Food was good but it's not the best Mexican food truck in town at all. ElTio has that crown he's parked by the marathon off tennesee street. This one however is quite good and they have excellent service and a nice quiet seating area...
Raymond S — Google review
This little truck packs a whole lot of flavor. It’s located Off of Apalachee Parkway and you have to park at this restaurant that is closed down. You can walk up or either call In to place your order. They are pretty fast at getting your food out, And they are priced reasonably. I love to get their street tacos this time I also tried the carne asada dinner. It was a bit too salty for me to the point where rinsing it off didn’t help. However, this place is good and will be back. They also have a nice outdoor seating area for you to eat. Excuse my photos because my plate tipped over on the drive home.

LeMoyne Arts is a charming art center located in the historic Park Avenue district of downtown Tallahassee. Housed in the Meginnis-Monroe House, this two-story office building features glass atriums and winding stairs adorned with fine art and gifts. Visitors can freely wander through the public space to admire exhibits like Color Theory and Figure in Form. The gallery also offers art classes for all ages and provides serene garden settings for various events.
I went to See my little Cousins Artwork on Display with my Family. I had not been to LeMoyne since I was little, so it was a nice Visit. Everyone who works there is very nice & helpful. I wish people everywhere were that kind. The Artwork is beautiful, it's amazing to think that Students from all of Our Local Schools made such beautiful pieces of Art. To view the Artwork you don't have to go up or down a bunch of stairs so it was great for my Great Grandmother. There are maybe 4-5 front steps to get to the front door though. It's nice and quiet inside, and such a beautiful building. I love those Houses and Buildings on that side of Town. It takes you back in time. I would Highly Recommend visiting LeMoyne Arts. They have Classes and Fun events every Single Month. Go Visit and You won't be Disappointed (But don't forget a couple quarters for the parking meter, and check ahead for entry cost for your group)

I coordinated a summer field trip for my elementary students. What a great idea!!! I had never visited this museum, but I'm so glad I did!!! The students and chaperones alike enjoyed every minute of the scavenger hunt and creating their own watercolor portraits. This was indeed a great day!!!!

LeMoyne Arts is a Tallahassee treasure serving the area for over 60 years. There is always something going on at LeMoyne. Art exhibits, Gallery Gift Shop, Art Classes, Camps and special events. LeMoyne Arts produces the region's best fine art festival each Spring. The newly renovated gardens and Studio buildings are a wonderful venue for celebrations and gatherings. A great place to get involved and meet new people.

When I went there was a gallery of quilts. But they made it next level with actual 3D glasses and made the fabric pop. Very cool experience. The people were so engaging. Very amazing experience! Thank you!!

Battlefields
Natural Bridge Battlefield Historic State Park is an outstanding location for kayaking, as it offers a unique opportunity to explore the genuine spring. It is advisable to allocate a full day for the upstream journey along St. Mark's River before returning. When starting your adventure, expect to encounter deep mud instead of a proper shoreline. This serene and rejuvenating setting is encompassed by Plank Road State Forest throughout the entire route, ensuring seclusion apart from a few houses at the beginning.
The Battle of Natural Bridge reenactment was great. My sons had a good time & loved the gunfight & cannon fire
CoughCool — Google review
Always clean and quiet. Great place to stop and relax on a ride. Lots of history to be discovered if you take a short stroll around. Nice reenactment. Well worth the 5 dollar donation.

Another one of our amazing State Park. This is a nice place to go out and get away from it for a while. Picnic tables and pavilions are around. Great trails for nature walks. Florida’s state park system is a great thing. There’s a lot of history and areas of the state parks.

Park
The Leon Sinks Geological Area is a park in the National Forest that offers a 5-mile trail system leading to a series of sinkholes. These sinkholes include both wet and dry ones, providing visitors with diverse and fascinating natural sights. Additionally, there is an interpretive site and picnic tables available for visitors to enjoy. The park is well-maintained and labeled, making it easy for hikers to navigate through the trails. Clean bathrooms are provided, along with water fountains for hydration.
Beautiful hiking area with lots of caves and blue lakes. Well worth the five miles. However, if you don't want to do the entire loop, the nearest cave (gopher hole) is only 0.2 miles in, and the nearest wet sink with blue water (Hammock Sink) is only half a mile in
Noah D — Google review
I hiked the full loop. Lots of fascinating geological features. The swamp walk would get a little wet during the rainy season but it was okay right now. One thing to watch for is ticks: I had to pull a few off of me. Recommend long pants and/or insect repellant.
Andy H — Google review
There’s a $5 fee to park unless you have a pass. Payment is made by placing cash or check in an envelope at the entrance. The parking lot is spacious, with some longer spots available for RVs or buses. A large restroom is on-site—clean but very hot! Before heading out on the trails, there’s a bulletin board with helpful information about the park and local wildlife. Dogs are allowed, but must be leashed. I visited on a Thursday afternoon around 1 PM, just after it had rained. The park was empty when I arrived, though I did pass a family on my way out. I chose to take the Sinkhole Trail and ended up doing 5.5 miles in about 2 1/2 hours. It was quiet, peaceful, and absolutely beautiful. Since it had just poured, the trail was wet and the sinkholes were dark, but I still climbed down to explore where it was safe. Be cautious, though—banana spiders were out and about!
Brandy D — Google review
Learning about dry and wet sinks and the limestone beneath the surface that creates the sun's was really fun. I didn't see many people over the almost 6 miles of trails I adventured on. I did see small critters. It is a beautiful area with lots to learn about.
Jackie G — Google review
Great park. Wear sensible shoes. The trail has lots of ups and downs. The teail 8s well marked.
Rebecca R — Google review
Great 5 Mile hike! Very easy terrain. Lots of wet and dry and colds. Each one is marked with a marker and there are a lot of informative plaques on the hike that add to the experience! Gopher cave was our favorite because we could get right up next to it and look in! We seen a white crayfish! It's an easy 10 minute hike from where you park to get to that and back! There are benches along the path that you can take a break at if needed. There are a few spots where Roots and hills may make it difficult for some hikers. But most of it is very flat and easy to navigate! We hiked it with a nine, 7 and 2-year-old! 😜😂. It is a fee of $5 to park for the day. And you must have cash to pay at the entry drop box location. The camp host was very nice! He came over and gave our family a educational background of the geological formations of what made the sinkholes! Thank you so much again, that was awesome!
Alex — Google review
Super fun little trail. The sinkhole trail (northern trail) is the best - both in sites and how it is maintained. The Big Dismal Sinkhole is the coolest but the other ones are fun to check out. There are a few short side tails that are worth the extra 5-15 min to investigate like the disappearing stream and the gopher hole. The surgery swamp trail is less maintained and at least when I did it in December flooded for about 50m on the western end. Five dollars cash to park there. Good water and rest facilities available. Also when I plugged it into Google Maps in Dec 2023 it send me to a spot about 0.2 mi north of the actual entrance.
Knud H — Google review
Nice easy walk in the National Forest with several beautiful wet sinkholes and some dry. There is a Gum Swamp Trail branching off the main trail going around some swaps and looping back. The whole hike is about 5 miles.

Nestled in the Red Hills region of North Florida, the Miccosukee Canopy Road Greenway offers a picturesque outdoor experience. Spanning 503 acres, this greenway features six miles of canopied trails suitable for hiking, jogging, cycling, and horseback riding. The lush fields and scenic woodland trails provide a serene setting for outdoor activities.
Great park! Pretty spacious parking lot, even when it’s hopping on weekend mornings! Well maintained trails, rolling hills covered with Pensacola Bahia grass (discovered and initially harvested by my great grandad/family farm), with plenty of picnic tables, benches, trash cans, and doggy bags. There is a surprisingly nice bathroom, and there are two bowls for water for your dog!
Jay F — Google review
Great for long walks with the stroller. There are very shady parts and very sunny parts, so we park in different sections depending on the weather. There's a new natural pond in the low area after those big storms last year, but there have also been improvements to that part of the path. Just FYI for those with toddlers who run straight toward every muddy puddle! Beware of bikes, as some folks don't have the good sense to ring their bell or say anything before speeding by you. 🙄

Beautiful. Very well maintained park. Great place to take your dog. They have bathrooms as well as an outdoor water fountain with some dog bowls. Great spot to feel like you left the city.

Great place take a walk. My first time come here. I'm enjoying the view. Quiet and relaxing.
Dede W — Google review
A great place for walking, running or biking! One of my favorite aspects is the change in scenery, there are wide fields and wooded areas both offering different views and a different feel. No matter where you end up on the many miles of trails, it is one of my go to spots in Tallahassee. There are some spots that feel less than serene due to the proximity of roadways but overall it is a great trail. It is also busy so if you are looking for something that feels remote this is not for you.
Andrew-Paul G — Google review
The trail is hard pack/fine gravel. Also grass trails are optional. Suggest parking at the Edinfield trailhead. Nice facilities. There are picnic tables and benches nicely spaced along the trail
V K — Google review
4 separate parking areas with bathrooms along the way. Lots of trail offshoots along the way. There are no slippery areas, even after the rain like some of the other local hiking trails. There's open fields and heavily wooded areas depending what you're looking for, wide main path is easy to follow or take the tighter paths to feel more secluded. There are picnic tables and cozy benches thoughtfully placed along the way and water fountains for humans and dogs. Lots of loops for you to decide how long or short you want your hike to be. It's a lovely place to run alone, walk your dog/kid, bike with a friend or even ride your horse. I've done them all out there and loved them all!

Lake Talquin State Forest is a hidden gem for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts alike. This serene forested park features a picturesque lake and river, perfect for recreational activities such as boating, fishing, and hiking along its well-maintained trails. The campground offers basic amenities with primitive camping options that include picnic tables and fire pits at each site. While there are no water or electricity facilities, the peaceful atmosphere makes it an ideal spot to unwind amidst nature.
Basic campground. Vault/pit toilets. No water, no electricity. Quiet and peaceful during my stay. Great views from the fishing pier. Lots of squirrels scurrying about. Picnic table and fire pit at each campsite. Raised parking pad with gravel. You will have to maneuver a well maintained 2.6 mile dirt road in order to access this campground. It became a bit muddy and precarious when it rained but they brought in heavy equipment to level it back out. Rangers come around periodically to clean the bathroom and empty the trash cans. There are no large dumpsters at this location so use small bags when discarding garbage. There's also a small boat ramp for those interested.

It’s lake talquin. It’s nice, it’s nature, and it’s serene. Swim at your own risk, play but wear mosquito spray and I catch but don’t eat out of it.
