This is a must visit in Gyeongju! The museum is fantastic. There's so much history, the installations are modern and sleek. entrance is free, there's a beautiful pond & cafe where you can chill.

An excellent museum to discover and deepen your knowledge of the Silla period. I recommend starting your stay in Gyeongju with this visit — it’s free and provides valuable context for exploring other sites, especially the tumuli. The museum also offers an app with additional explanations in English for selected artifacts. Lockers are available to store your belongings, and several bus lines stop nearby. The only drawback is that there aren’t many dining options in the immediate area, so it’s worth planning your meals accordingly.

It was so crowded. Luckly we were able to find a parking space. No tickets were available for the the crown exhibit. Ot was worth to visit.

Highly recommend. Excellent exhibions of the artefacts discovered through the ages put into historical context. They had a fab Buddha exhibition also. It's a nice walk from the Woljeonggyo Bridge to the museum and then on to the Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond. They also have a good coffee shop 🙂

This park is extensively planned and i thi k most visitors will enjoy at any time of the day. At night, the flower gardens are lit up for visual effects. The fog just adds to the mystics.

Very comfortable place located within the big park. Families could be seen here with kids around. Lovely vibe.

It was just a simple land with flowers and observatory tower. There’s no trees around. And it can be pretty hot.

Take your time to visit this place, there are si many things to see and read, beautiful gardens too.

Cheomseongdae is the oldest surviving astronomical observatory in Asia, and possibly even the world. It was constructed during the Silla period, during the reign of Queen Seondeok (r. 632–647 AD). Cheomseongdae was designated as the country's 31st national treasure on December 20, 1962.

What you see is what you get and what you will see are some large, grassy mounds (one containing a small museum). Beautifully maintained, it’s worth an amble but, honestly, thirty minutes is more than enough. Telletubby fans might get more of a kick out of it.

We had a pleasant walk in the complex to visit the tombs and learn more interesting historical stories of Silla Kingdom and the Kings. Admission was free, the vibe was really nice even it was raining heavily when we were there.

It seems like these burial mounds are everywhere in Gyeongju. What I want know is where are all the big holes where they got the dirt to make these mounds? They are lit up at night. When we visited, there were fireworks. I also wondered how they kept the grass on these mounds so neatly cut.

There were interesting shapes of trees with nice angles...a forest. It might have been something special if we could have understood and appreciated some semblance of the allegoric history. It was obviously a well-protected grove of trees with local significance.

I enjoyed this place wherein you can see temples and Ancient Monuments located in Gyeongju. There are also small lakes around the area. When we visit the place, there are also many tourists coming along to see the beauty of the place. Though there is an entrance fee, I can say that it is somehow worth the price especially for those who love tourist attractions like this.

Pretty usual hostel experience. The one downside is you need to pay for most amenities. The breakfast is simple but at least they offer breakfast! I'd really recommend this place for anyone who wants a good cheap place to stay in gyeongju. The location is very good too.

This is a decent hostel in Gyeongju, the location is very close to the local train station (not the Korea Rail station, which is quite far from the city) and the manager helped us to plan a fantastic itinerary. The price seemed a bit high given the somewhat average quality of the place, but there really are so few options in central Gyeongju that it's probably not a bad deal. The rooms are spacious and have private bathrooms, but there are no keys to the rooms and they only lock from the inside, so you have to lock up your belongings in cabinets inside the rooms whenever you go out. I will caution that the place seemed to be more focused on Korean-speaking visitors and the manager's English might be a bit limited; my partner ended up doing most of the talking in Korean. There also seem to be a few less-helpful assistant managers which seemed a bit grumpy to me. But if you can get past the language barrier then I'd definitely recommend this place.

Close to many shops and restaurants in Gyeongju, and right next to a bus stop taking you to all the great attractions. Night bicycle tour very good (shows you all the historic sites in the area) but you'll need a translator. Decent sized common area used for drinking and eating (and a chance to mingle). Few bars nearby and most closed early (during chuseok) so we made use of the 7/11 just across the road. Friendly staff,,judging by his photos, the owner has travelled everywhere! Rooms could be a tad cleaner

For the minimalistic traveller, it's one of the best deals in town. Located near to the Gyeongju Station, near Downtown area, within walking distance to Anapji Pond and the observatory. Initially the address was confusing. It's along the Gyeongju Train Station towards Bunhwangsa. It's kind of hidden but the signs and Google Maps helped a lil. Breakfast is provided; sufficient to keep you going til lunch. Owner is very hospitable and helpful. Place is old but clean. Went in without expectations and enjoyed it.

Good hostel for few days. It is a bit let down but rooms are clean, breakfast is OK. Staff friendly even if they can't speak much English.

Wow! We stumbled upon this museum while taking a stroll through the tombs on a beautiful sunny morning. What a fantastic find! We had visited the main museum already where it displayed basic information about the tombs and a replica of the coffin area. But visiting Geumgwanchong museum shows in detail exactly how the tombs were made, and it's fascinating. It's inside of a real tomb! Be sure to visit both buildings and view the presentations.

We were staying at a nearby hotel and decided to go for a walk the morning of our departure, when we came across the Geumgwanchong Silla Tomb Information Center. What a find. In the first hall you get to see the inside of the tomb to appreciate the construction and all the work and ceremony that went into its construction and the subsequent burial. The second hall is the museum where you get to learn more about the Silla and contents of the tomb. Highly recommended if you are interested in Korean history and culture.

The measly 3,000 won entrance fee was definitely worth it! Entrance includes admission to 2 separate buildings: excavation area and tombs excavation center. An incredible animated film plays on a loop in the second one. Staff didn’t speak a lot of English but they were very kind. Highly recommended!!!

Very good hostel in central Gyeongju. I booked originally a bed, but was upgraded to a room, so that was nice. Very clean all through. Wifi worked perfectly for online meetings. Breakfast was nice (8-10am everyday). Plenty of buses that connect it to the main attractions, and you can also walk to most of them.

Great location, friendly staff, clean bathrooms. The breakfast is a nice addition. However a couple of things. When it is busy, the facilities are just not big enough. We went out for breakfast on our last day bc there was no where for us to sit. there is only one toilet in the men’s bathroom, and the urinal makes the bathroom smell Also you cannot be in any of the hostel from 11am - 3pm. We went out early in the morning to do visit a temple so by 12 we were done. it was really hot and we would have liked to come back and shower and change clothes and have a rest, but we had to stay out until 3. considering it’s a room you have paid for lol it seems a bit silly that we couldn’t use our own room. that wasn’t cleaned or the sheets changed during our stay so I don’t really understand that. Apart from that it’s all good

The location is just awesome. It's very close to the bus stop and most of the tourist attractions are within walkable distance. The rooms are great. They have hangers, a small bag and multiple lockers for each bunk. The shower and toilet cubicles are extremely limited though. There's not much of a common area, it's just a kitchen table. Also, the number of charging ports in the common area is limited. The breakfast is pretty good. They do laundry just once a day and most of the time you won't find anyone at the reception, so you'll have to go down to the store downstairs if you need any help.

Nice hostel, in the center. It is one floor of stairs, the restrooms and showers are clean and ok, they could be just a bit bigger. The bed is comfortable and the lockers are big and just below you.

No English speaking staff but they should understand you when you tell them that you're looking to go Busan. Takes about 2 to 3 hours. Train schedule is about every hour. Gyeongju Friend Guesthouse is perfect for your visit, it is very well located close to bus stops and the parks. I stayed in a 4bedroom. Comfortable, there is AC. There are lockers too.
