The Harbour Hotel Bristol is a stylish hotel located in the heart of Bristol, occupying two former bank buildings. The hotel offers contemporary rooms and suites with quirky decor, spacious layouts, and modern amenities such as rainforest showers and Egyptian cotton sheets. The highlight of the hotel is its chic spa located within the old vaults, featuring massive steel doors. Guests can also enjoy a cocktail bar and the Jetty restaurant specializing in seafood.
Very central location, comfortable room, very good breakfast, pretty helpful and kind staff in the hotel and kitchen. Thanks to the cook for preparing some porridge on my request! Before my arrival I was informed that the Spa was not available on the dates of my stay, at the beginning I was a bit disappointed for that, but in the end, after solving the problem with the swimming pool, I was granted a free entrance as an apology for the trouble. The spa is cosy and very relaxing. Most places are at walking distance, many good restaurants nearby. Highly recommended.

Good afternoon tea and spa, nice room but quite stuffy. Lack of ventilation as windows don't open. Shower doesn't drain well. Excellent location in close proximity to the interesting area. Especially good was the market. Something to note is that the hotel is popular with weddings so if you want to avoid a loud party downstairs avoid. It didn't bother us. Very interesting decor in an old bank. Good helpful staff

Spending 2 nights in Bristol and thought this would be a real treat. £326 a night. Spa is lovely but very small. Room is small but with a nice bathroom. HOWEVER Noise throughout the night, loud banging firedoors outside the bedroom, which would slam any time used. No soap or conditioner, when told on the first night nothing was done. Told them in the morning, nothing done and even by the third day nothing replaced. Staff were lovely and friendly but did nothing about it and on checkout just a polite "We are very sorry". On the final morning at 10:55 housekeeping banging on the door asking us to move out. (check out is at 11am and completely uncalled for). There was mess and mould around the tops of the soap/shampoo dispensers. If i had been paying around £100 a night it may have been overlooked, but at £326 per night you just feel robbed.

Amazing hotel in a fantastic location in the centre of Bristol. We had a large twin room, luxurious bed linen and very comfortable beds. We had complimentary gin, coffee pods, dressing gowns and lovely toiletries. The staff were all delightful. The continental breakfast was fresh and plentiful in the beautiful restaurant. We had an hour in the spa, which was in the vault of the old bank, very unique and luxurious. Throughly recommend

Went today for afternoon tea. Lovely staff. Had to wait for the afternoon tea to arrive and because it was later than it should have been we were given a complimentary bottle of prosecco. Even though we didn't complain, just politely asked if it would soon be ready. What an amazing response for something that wasn't really a problem. Well done to The Harbour Hotel.
Rita B — Google review
When booking it says hotel comes with pool and spa etc. when checking in your asked if you want to use it and what time. when you arrive to use the spa your asked if you would like a locker. So you can understand my shock while leaving the spa after using it I was told to pay £10. No where while booking does it say you have to pay extra, only that the room and hotel include these amenities. Which if you have to pay extra after booking I feel as if I was miss sold. Espially as I had a nicer room booked at hotel du vin around the corner. The rest of the hotel needs some TLC of alreast a fresh coat of paint. And I had not once but twice get a new room key as it wouldn’t work. First time after using the spa and being in robe and slippers, second time late at night and having to wait for some one to come to reception.
Alexander S — Google review
Stayed in the junior suite which was beautifully laid out. Room was very comfortable, lots of wardrobe space. The bed however although advertised as having a king bed - it was 2 beds or mattresses pulled together. The sofa also had some questionable stains on them which should have been cleaned thoroughly. Some of the shower room amenities were not restocked properly as the shower cap box only had a cotton bud in. Regarding the spa - I was informed the use of the facilities (sauna, steam room and pool) were free upon check in but I was charged £7.50 after my stay. It's not a lot but the right information should have been provided initially. The hotel did have a lovely decor throughout and the staff were very approachable and warm.

Excellent hotel! Amazing staff and brilliant location. Spa was lovely, room was cool (just how I like it) and despite there being a wedding on the weekend we visited - couldn't hear a thing! Will definitely return!

Nestled in the picturesque Clifton area, Avon Gorge by Hotel du Vin is a contemporary haven that boasts stunning views of the iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge. Recently renovated, this luxurious hotel features beautifully designed rooms adorned with rich velvets and metallic accents, creating an inviting atmosphere. Guests can unwind on the terrace while sipping spritzes and soaking in breathtaking vistas during summer months.
The location of this hotel is lush! Such a beautiful little village to walk around! Breakfast at Avon Gorge was delicious, fresh and tasty!!!! Really really enjoyed it!!! Fortunately we get to do a lot of travelling. Unfortunately what we paid for the room and what we got, weren't the same. The room was small, clean but small and the 'view of the bridge' from our room was a stretch. You'll see in the picture how much of the bridge we could actually see. The bed however was soooooooo comfy!!!! Would I stay here again? Yes. Would I pay extra for a room that had no extras. Probably not.

We were staying here for my daughter's wedding. A beautiful building inside 😍 We were given an early check-in but due to the wedding dropped our bags and left. Unfortunately on getting to our room after the reception (midnight) our room was really warm and the air conditioning would not stay on a lower temperature than 19. It was just too hot. We couldn't open the window because it wouldn't stay open. The bathroom was extremely small. We had paid more than my son but his room was far bigger. We explained to reception the following morning and received an apology. The breakfast was very nice and enjoyable.

Not the sort of luxury hotel we expected! Lovely food and everything was okay and beds were comfy but the whole experience isn't really worth the price! Food was delicious and couldn't have been better and the deserts were incredible! Would definitely recommend the bread and butter pudding. Staff were okay but rooms really need re vamping and better parking is definitely needed as there is a small car park you can pay £6 for a night but could only really fit maybe 15 cars in at a push?

Wow, this was a little paradise I didn’t want to come home from. We visited for 2 nights in May and everything was fabulous. My tip would be grab yourself a balcony room for the amazing views. The food was lovely and all the staff so helpful at both breakfast and the bar tender who nearly fell off his stool getting the gin down was funny. The bathroom in the room was fab with gorgeous toiletries. I don’t think your pics on the website do the balcony justice or the views, so I added some. There is also a bar with a massive patio area that you can sit out and soak up the views, booze and hopefully sun, we had an amazing laugh. We are hoping to come back in August as I was so sad to leave. Thanks to you all for a wonderful stay.

Really enjoyed a 2-night stay in this hotel. It's a great location with plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance and a 10-minute Taxi from Bristol Temple Meads. Lovely views and neighbourhood. The room had a problem with the shower and the A/C (on the hottest day of the year!) and both were completely fixed within a couple of hours after letting the staff know. They were very friendly, extremely efficient and did an excellent job repairing it so fast! The room was comfortable and nicely decorated with a great view. The view is even better from the roof terrace bar - it's a great spot. Will definitely be back. Thank you.

It’s tough out there in hospitality right now… And as someone who owes their whole career to the hospitality industry, I personally believe we need to start talking UP the good experiences we have. I’m a cheerleader in life. I leave reviews online. I leave a tip and say thank you. I call out good service. This was my Friday night Hotel Du Vin at Clifton Avon Gorge Hotel in the Goram Vincent restaurant. Fish and chips plus a great glass of wine for less than £20! And it was some of the best fish and chips I’ve eaten in a long time. Having worked in and with the seafood sector for 30+ years, I’ve eaten quite a lot in my years. So. What was good? The fish was haddock, the batter was crispy, the chips perfect. The service was superb, the team member was three days into the job, an absolute delight to chat to. The wine was cool and crisp, matching the main course just right. The venue is stunning, with a perfect view of the Clifton suspension bridge in Bristol, just as the sun was going down. Book a table at Goram Vincent now - thank me later!

The restaurant was an absolute delight. The environment was lovely, and the service was spot-on—attentive, helpful, and genuinely involved in helping us choose our meals. We ordered the Chateaubriand for two, a rump steak, and a salmon dish. The food was truly exceptional. The quality and preparation of the meat were impeccable, and the flavours were outstanding—possibly among the best we've ever experienced. We really enjoyed the service. Callum was a true highlight of the evening—his communication was articulate, funny, and perfectly suited to the occasion. He made the experience even more special with his warmth and professionalism. The whole family had a fantastic evening. Thank you! —Jan and family

A really top hotel in a great location. The rooms are well.maintained and the showers and beds are excellent quality. Breakfast was a mix of continental and cooked and again they were excellent. The reception staff were really helpful and sorted me out with parking and all the information I needed. The hotel has a resteraunt which was very high end and when I looked at the menu for a lite lunch it didn't have simple items like sandwiches and salads. I went to check the pub it was attached too and they did quite heavy meals like burgers and Pizzas. In the evening I went out doe dinner and returned to the hotel at 9:30. I was looking forward to a drink out on the balcony. The pub was closed and only the hotel bar was open. This was pretty poorly stocked with draught and really only was suitable.for spirits. There was only one girl on the bar and she was working extremely hard trying to serve multiple guests. After 10 minutes of waiting and not really able to choose a drink I decided to leave the bar. The bars balcony had been closed at 9:30 due to neighbours complaints which was a real shame as it was a beautiful night. I would definitely return to this hotel. It was great value and the rooms were excellent. It's only let down was the limited lunch menu in both the pub and resteraunt and the early closure of the pub and terrace that means I can't give it 5 stars.

Brooks Guesthouse Bristol is a unique boutique B&B located in the heart of Bristol's Old Town. The central location makes it convenient for exploring the city's main attractions. The guesthouse offers comfortable and stylish rooms, as well as quirky rooftop 1950s-style caravans for a fun and memorable stay. Guests can enjoy a delicious English breakfast from a no-fuss open kitchen, adding to the overall homely atmosphere of the place.
Only lost one star because we unfortunately chose the smallest caravan and although shower great, tinsy sink and tiny space to squeeze past to get to toilet! Otherwise caravan perfect for our needs. Staff nothing too much trouble and guest house itself and food excellent . We'd definitely come to stay again. Perfect position for exploring on foot. Thank you!

Overall it's a great place and slightly quirky (it's Bristol!). The location is great but you have to be careful about noise. I asked for a quiet room but was given 17 which is directly over a pub terrace which stays busy until 2 am. Not so much of a problem in winter if you keep the windows closed, but if you need them open in summer, it's very noisy, also again at about 5:30 when deliveries etc start up

AvOID AVOiD AVOID!!!!!! A shame to be posting this review, as I never complain about but this was awful. Arrived with my husband early afternoon we both checked into the room and it smelt really bad the only way to describe the smell was like cat pee. We went to reception and complained in fairness the gentleman on reception couldn't apologise enough and gave us another room. Arriving to the new room it still smelt damp but we could live with it as we realised it was as good as we was going to get. After doing our day we arrived back around 8pm to get an early night as still recovering from knee surgery I can't do much walking. As the evening went on obviously customers was starting to come back we could hear arguments from rooms below so not to be a problem we turned the tv up it wasnt loud just enough to drown out downstairs must of falling asleep at some point. Around 4am we was knocked up by the hotel night porter to be told to turn the tv down and started having a go about snoring when trying to explain why the tv was turned up to start with he didn't care. Just dismissed us And he left. So we didn't sleep after that went downstairs to get drinks to try and apologise and sat in court yard In the court yard u could hear people having sex we was shocked as they had the nurve to moan about a tv being loud and snoring yet rooms and guests arguing and hearing couple having sex really loudly didn't seem to be a problem. Maybe u can book at this place by the hr as the night porter didn't really seem bothered. Trying to complain about our experience to management we got an e.mail back saying they didn't really care and we should of complained at the time. We did but got dismissed. We sat outside for the remaining of the night and as soon as we could get our car from parking area that doesn't open till 6:30am we left we tried to leave sooner but the car park refused to let anyone in. Management simply don't care and some staff members need to get some people skills. Save your money and book elsewhere. A good day ruined by this hotel don't make our mistake. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!!!!!!

Avoid! Especially room 24.We had to leave on the first night as the very STONG like dead animal SMELL. Caused me allergic reaction straight away, plus the drug addictive people next to our window in a caravan. How the whole thing was: We arrived on Friday afternoon around 3 pm, a guy at the desk didn't even stand up to great me, asked for the 3 night stay to pay straight away, we did, than he told us which way to go. Already the elevator had a strange smell, then the stairs on the corridor to the top floor stinked badly, entered to a room, both windows were open, still smelled. There was 1 chair, no table at all, and no wardrobe. We put our suitcase to the stained carpet, under the TV had a shelf with the cattle, but too big to fill up in the sink, where there was no cold water, but we didn't have anywhere to put our mugs anyway. Went out for a meal, came back 8 pm, to get changed, than closed the windows as it was cold already. Arrived back around 3 am, the strong deadly smell was unbearable, I had allergic reaction straight away, while we were talk and opened the window, the receptionist knocked the door and asked me to talk quieter. I complained about the stong smell, he said he doesn't feel nothing. He said no other rooms awailable and not for the next few days too, as they fully booked, but we saw other rooms available on the website. Tried to go to sleep with the open bathroom window, which opened to the back, but the noise from the still partying people, the very soft mattresses, the squeaky wooden bad, not screwed properly, plus the outside light as the open window, the loud lorries unloading stuff, the loud seagulls and pigeons around the window we had no chance as the room had that strong deadly smell. Than not long after the caravan guests next to our open bathroom window started to using strong, smelly drugs, I asked them to sop it, I was so unwell by that time, and tired and nervous. The receptionist knocked my door and asked me to lower my voice, I told him that I have enough about the mixed smell we have now, he still didn't offer an other room, so I said we need to leave than as I am unwell, need to be in a clean place and need sleep as I had zero so far. We tried to get an uber, tried more than an hour, but as no signal, and the WiFi kept disconnecting, we couldn't at the end. Get ourself together, gave back the key to the receptionist, who also said no management till Sunday or so, than we walked out to a main street where we were able to manage an uber. I am really upset, as the night out in Bristol was very good, but this guest house ruined it. Now we are at home, on our second night, slept some hours daytime at home instead of the site seeing in Bristol and being out there right now at Saturday night. But I was too unwell to go to an other hotel and risk the similar situation. I read the reviews by now on Booking.com also, and lots of people completing about the strong smell and the poor ventilation. This place needs to be managed better, as with money invested, could be a good place, and surely make lots of money, as the price at least double than should be, for an empty room with 2 single bed.

We went for our mini honeymoon as we've stayed here twice before. The staff, food and service are all excellent but the hotel is showing it's age. I was really disappointed with our room as it was tiny and not as clean as expected for the cost of our stay. Firstly the the door going into the room was grubby and the handle was loose so that put me off a bit. The bathroom was very small and I couldn't sit on the toilet properly as the radiator was in the way. I'm quite a skinny person so I think a larger person would really struggle in there. The shower cubicle wasn't that clean, neither was the rest of the bathroom and room, what there was of it. Once we put our suitcases in, there was very little room to move around and we kept banging ourselves on the bed just walking around it. There was no wardrobe just hooks on the walls for clothes and some of those were broken or missing. Furniture was scruffy and poor quality with water damage to the bathroom cabinet and paint peeling off the bed. We asked for a honeymoon package and got a bottle of prosecco, a small box of chocolates and for £30 I felt a bit ripped off. The courtyard although private with tables and chairs was not very tidy and run down. It could do with a jet wash and good tidy. I could go on! In summary then, friendly staff, good food, service and location. Small grubby room, hotel in general a bit grubby. Very disappointed and will be staying elsewhere in future as our room was not value for money especially considering the cost of other hotels in the area.

Easy to find , wonderfully helpful staff , nice sized room , however the bathroom could’ve been cleaner and the room itself had a faulty door handle which made the room hard to open and lock . The location is great in the day , however as a woman I felt unsafe leaving at night this was due to the sheer amount of drug addicts/ alcoholics in the area ,in addition the noise coming from the street made it impossible to sleep
Julia W — Google review
Easy to find , very central , I closed windows and blinds which kept noise out. Asked for new pillows as 2 smelled of perfume and others were musky smell but told they had none and that the cases were clean, it must be the pillows. So I wrapped towels on them to sleep . Kettle smelled disgusting and burnt inside so could not use

The perfect venue for a 40th birthday, the Library felt as special as the staff made us feel throughout. Food was amazing and of course the cocktails and range of local beers top notch. We’ve popped by a few times for drinks or food, which always feels like a treat date night. Highly recommend.

The owner has clearly no idea how to run a business let alone the 4 she's tried to cram into the building. Nightclub, bar, restaurant and hotel do not make a good combo, especially due to the other nightclub over the road. It's so loud you can't sleep. The staff are overworked as they clearly don't have enough on at any time which is quite frankly is worrying considering guest and staff safety. The rooms are nice but it's definitely not worth the price they're charging. Would absolutely not reccomend.

As the name, it I kinda feel that you’re staying in some kinda of artist place. The food at the restaurant was delicious. Super easy to walk around and near by some really cool shops and cafes. Highly recommend..and hope we can go back soon!

Fabulous ambience, incredible decor but the most special part of our stay was Callum who made our rather large wedding party feel like royalty. Attentive, outstanding efficiency and all round jolly good egg. All credit to Callum ! Xxx

I'm appalled at the state of breakfast at this place. They have staff cooking eggs in a small room with no ventilation, it stinks. The staff here look exhausted and hungry, and by the looks of things are VERY thinly spread. The facilities here are not at all up to par, and if I were the business owner I'd be concerned health & safety would shut us down. A disappointing experience, and a lot of empathy for the poor workers here. Will not be back.

My wife and I booked late night last minute after a medical emergency at the airport. The lady was super kind. Service was great. Room was great. Food was great. Would definitely come again. Thanks!

Stayed here a couple of weeks ago, great happy vibes in this hotel Room - artist suite is big enough for three, very huge room, incredible bed will give you the best nights sleep, super air con, love the walk in shower. Staff - really good hosts, friendly and helpful, and engaging. Food - thank you chef, everything that was made was of high quality, can’t stop thinking about the anchovy flatbread.

Came here for a drink with my girlfriend in the week and it was nice. Super chilled, classy blues bar vibe but not many people. We thought we'd come back Saturday night and it was carnage. Some homeless guy shouting at the staff not enough staff on at all and the mens urinal was overflowing and we thought there was a nightclub in the basement but it was a private party loud enough to hear it upstairs. Dread to think what it must of been like for people in the bedrooms. Could be a classy place but it isn't

Berwick Lodge is a charming country lodge located on the outskirts of Bristol, surrounded by 18 acres of picturesque grounds. This boutique hotel offers elegant accommodations, a 2 AA Rosette restaurant, and event spaces. Guests can indulge in traditional afternoon tea served in the beautiful gardens or the wood-paneled lounge with views of the grounds. The afternoon tea menu includes a delightful selection of sandwiches, cakes, freshly baked scones with jam and clotted cream, accompanied by unlimited coffee and specialty tea.
I booked the room Lydia for my parents during their visit in town last Sunday. The hotel and room was impressive and full of character. Every staff greeted us with the most friendly smile. I like to thank Simon especially for his most attentive and thoughtful service throughout dinner. My parents enjoyed every course of the tasting menu and highly recommended it. They loved the pleasant morning stroll at the garden too. Check out "The break up your journey offer" It was a really great value package. We were lucky enough to meet Sarah, the owner of the place when I picked my parents up the next day. She was very generous and kind. We can tell it takes so much love and effort in making this place so special. I wish more people would know about and visit this hidden gem in Bristol.

Beautiful wedding venue! I got married here and had a wonderful outdoor ceremony, and everyone commented on how great the venue was. Great rooms for our guests too, and the staff were lovely and super helpful. Food was great! Lovely space, and I can't wait to come back for our anniversary ❤️

We had our wedding here in August 2025 and were simply blown away by the amazing care taken by every single member of the team! Georgia did a wonderful job communicating with us throughout the process and Rhianna kept everything running incredibly smoothly on the day. We couldn’t be more thankful to the whole team for their friendly and excellent service during our big day, our guests commented on the same! The whole process was made so easy and stress free, I would highly recommend! We cannot wait to continue to go back for celebratory dinners here, the food is sensational!

Absolutely blown away by our stay here! The location is amazing, with stunning grounds that made for the perfect peaceful getaway. Our room was fantastic – beautifully finished, super comfortable, and the shower/bath setup was next level. Total luxury! I’d highly recommend the ‘Troya’ suite. Incredible!! The food was absolutely delicious – every meal was a highlight – and the staff were honestly some of the best we’ve ever come across. Attentive, friendly, and genuinely couldn’t do enough for us. It really made the whole experience feel extra special. Without a doubt, this has been the best UK break my partner and I have ever had. Already looking forward to coming back! – The Brice’s 🌿✨

We had our wedding at Berwick Lodge at the beginning of September, and we couldn’t be happier with our choice! The building is absolutely stunning, with beautiful gardens and unique bedrooms that made the whole experience feel extra special. But what truly sets Berwick Lodge apart is the incredible team and the owner. From the very beginning of the planning process, we felt completely looked after, nothing was ever too much trouble, and everything ran seamlessly on the day. Our guests were full of compliments about the venue itself and the delicious food, which made us even prouder of our choice. Berwick Lodge will always hold a very special place in our hearts, and we’re already planning a return stay for our anniversary!

The setting is nice and the location is convenient. Access to the property is poor (a long road 1½ vehicle width with plenty of large potholes). The food was nice, but pricey. A burger cost me £31 by the time the room service charge was added and then an additional 12.5% service charge on top of the room service charge. I didn't have time to query in the morning when I checked out. I was in the mews rooms, which are not great if you're a taller (above 5ft) person as the sloping ceilings make access to parts of the room difficult. Parts of the room felt very budget, such as the kettle - the type that has a hardwired plug that makes pouring a pain - and a cheap hairdryer that would frequently cut out. Bed was comfortable and the rooms were nice and clean. Other than the kettle, tea and coffee facilities were good with some nice biscuits provided. Shower was OK. One room I stayed in the shower made a loud noise for the first 20-30 seconds of use. In the other, it was loose in its fixings meaning if you wanted it on a decent strength, it wasn't possible to get it to stay in place properly. Neither room I stayed in had any sort of desk. Wifi was provided but was a bit sketchy. When it was connected, the speed seemed usable. All in all, it was an alright stay, but I didn't feel like the price (£135/night without breakfast) was reflected in the quality of the room.

Airport
Bristol Airport is a regional airport in South-West England, offering international flights and featuring a modern, 2-floor terminal. The city of Bristol has a rich history as a major port and is known for its cultural vibrancy, historic landmarks, and aquatic heritage. It has evolved into a hub for architectural, creative, historical, and cultural activities with independent music venues and theaters hosting various events and festivals throughout the year.
We used Bristol Airport for a quick trip and were pleasantly surprised by the changes taking place. it’s clear the airport is undergoing a major redevelopment and from what we saw, what’s already been done looks great, and what’s to come seems very promising. Silver car parking was excellent, check in smooth plane took of on time.
Hug D — Google review
Bristol Airport Bristol Airport is not a large airport, and it still provides facilities that meet most travellers’ needs. Toilets are free of charge. In the departure hall, you’ll find restaurants, convenience stores, gift shops, and duty-free shopping. The bus station outside offers easy connections to and from the airport, and clear signage inside makes it simple to navigate.
Muh F — Google review
Bristol International Airport offers a practical and efficient gateway for travellers in the South West. While not as expansive as major UK hubs, it delivers a streamlined experience with relatively quick check-ins, friendly staff, and a manageable layout. The airport serves a wide range of short- and mid-haul destinations across Europe, making it a convenient choice for both leisure and business travellers. Food and retail options are modest but adequate, and the Aspire Lounge provides a quieter space for those seeking comfort. Transport access is generally good, though the lack of a direct train line is a drawback. Parking is well-organised, with shuttle services from long-stay zones running frequently. In summary, Bristol Airport strikes a balance between simplicity and functionality. It may not offer luxury, but it delivers reliability and ease which is exactly what most regional travellers need.
Oghenehero B — Google review
Getting busier and busier with lots of flights to many home and European locations, this airport looks tired and is currently undergoing refurbishment and investment which promises to improve the experience. The check in and arrival areas are all close together with minimal seating, I found no phone charging locations and just one cafe downstairs. There is a M&S food as you enter the terminal, and plenty of space outside however short stay parking is expensive and limited. The long stay car park is serviced by a bus and is very convenient but also not cheap. I arrived by bus at the extensive bus terminal using the Stagecoach Falcon service that runs between Plymouth and Bristol City center.
Glen A — Google review
Very bustling regional airport that is undergoing some much-needed upgrades and expansion construction. At some points it was very crowded and challenging to navigate through. The rental car pick up area was easy to find and the bus transport to their was quick and easy.
Mary B — Google review
It's never a quiet spot to watch such amazing engineering at its finest. There is always hustle and bustle on the tarmac and taxiway with aeroplanes landing and taking off with surprise visits, including light aircraft and even a helicopter. If you're into watching planes, and you're going to be there a while, bring food and a drink as there is nothing around to buy. Parking next to the runway has about 20 spaces but if you park at the bottom of the runway, 2 spaces.
Tom R — Google review
Well... not the best experience... the lounge were fully booked and no possibility to use the paid services. Long distance warking frombthe plane to exit and the same during departure. The free chairs available around. Entering UK with kids under 10years you have to pass a person control
Victoria P — Google review
The spot itself is not the easiest to get to until you are close to the airfield. Great area for a good couple of hours plane spotting, you will see a lot of EasyJet flights, as it's one of their main hubs.

The Bristol Hotel, owned by The Doyle Collection hotel chain, may not appeal to everyone with its brutal concrete exterior, but inside it offers a smart and efficient city hotel experience. The rooms feature spacious beds, great showers, and impressive views of the harbor. Guests can enjoy the River Grille Restaurant and take advantage of the adjacent NCP car park for convenient parking.
I had a wonderful stay at The Bristol Hotel. From booking on the phone, to being greeted in reception, service in the bar & restaurant, staff who serviced the rooms.....everyone was first class. All the staff were very professional, efficient & provided five star treatment to me at all times, I was so impressed. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone who I came in to contact with. The rooms were immaculate and of high grade. The hotel was in a great location...walking distance to everything. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone and I look forward to returning in the near future.

Great location, good service although really just slept there and didn't use anything else so can't really comment further. The bed was really comfortable and the room was a good size. However the bathroom was really really small made worse by the fact the door opened into the bathroom and the shower screen needed to be moved over the toilet to get into bath. I found this really restrictive and fidgety and why I gave the room a 3. Also.... some may love this but the room is very very warm to sleep in although the hotel did place 2 fans in there, one of which did not work. Thanks

Overall a good stay at this hotel. Great location in the center of town. Friendly and family friendly staff, nice room. Parking was convenient and costs 18 pounds at linked garage. Only downside was the hotel restaurant, which had a staff person that were rude about us bringing our child for dinner, and the food was expensive and bland. Would definitely stay here again but would avoid the restaurant.

The hotel is based right on the Harbourside so the location is perfect for exploring Bristol. As soon as arrive the service is great, the staff were friendly and helpful. There is parking right next to hotel and they offer discounted parking during stay. The rooms are nice, not huge but it had everything needed. The beds were very comfortable. Only issue was the walls are quite thin so can hear the room next door if they're loud. But overall a really lovely hotel in a great location.

This was our first time in Bristol and this hotel did not disappoint! The staff were all so friendly and had great customer service. The hotel was modern and clean throughout. It has great bedroom and bathroom amenities! As a regular customer of TempleSpa, I loved that this was the hotel’s choice of amenities in the bathrooms. Would definitely stay again if in Bristol!

Andrea in reservations was fantastic. Hotel itself has the perfect location. The rooms are a bit tired, some touch ups would be nice. Staff was general friendly, but check in could have done with a bit more information and warmth, even when someone done the online check in. Breakfast had a great variety and was tasty. Only downside, Hotel does not have AC and the fans shut off after a certain time ( should be changed to regular fans!), which resultet that i woke up in the middle of the night having to turn it back on, as it was too warm in the room

A friend and I visited for Afternoon tea. The Grill felt luxurious but not pretentious. We could not fault the service, in fact it was exemplary from all members of the team, and we particularly enjoyed chatting with a gentleman who we guess is the hotel or restaurant manager. The afternoon tea was very good and great value, and we were delighted when we were told that the prosecco we had enjoyed was to be complimentary. Would definitely recommend as an afternoon tea venue in Bristol.
Georgina S — Google review
Our second visit to this hotel. We had a small room on the second floor, perfectly well equipped, and comfortable. The issue was the noise at night of pumping music (to be accurate; until 3am) emitting from a bar on harbourside, which the hotel windows, though double glazed, failed to prevent. Anyone staying who wants a good night's sleep needs to be aware that the rooms on the harbour side will be affected by late night noise and you are better off (as we were previously) located on the road side. We were room only so did not have breakfast. The hotel benefits from a superb location and is very nice, but really needs to look at beefing up it's windows/sound proofing.

What a lovely little place. Gorgeous views front and back, well laid out public areas, quiet location (a mile from the city centre). The room we stayed in was well furnished, nicely decorated and had a large and well designed bathroom. The bed wasn't the most comfortable I've ever slept in but it was more than adequate. Nicely stocked mini bar - with fresh milk for tea or coffee! Staff were friendly and professional. I'm already looking forward to returning.

This hotel was the last hotel of our stay in the UK and I’m so glad. It was impressive. From the moment we entered and took in the beautiful furnishings, fragrance, and warm welcome, we were happy. As we’d arrived early, we were offered bag storage and then transfer to the room when it was ready, as well as a permit to park on the street. We’d been upgraded to Room 2 on the top floor (should have accepted their offer to deliver the bags! No lift, steep stairs and heavy bags. Our problem!). The room was amazing - very big, with one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. Immediate ‘ahhh’ feeling. The furnishings were so lovely. The view was exceptional. The bath was truly wonderful. The shower pressure was great. The complimentary macaroons were very tasty. Breakfast was freshly cooked and restaurant quality. Flavour was all there! There was a fan above the bed (thank you) and we had a lovely breeze with both windows open. It was so quiet at night! Honestly, this place is amazing. The location is also wonderful - walking distance to the suspension bridge and a short wander to a number of pubs and eateries.

This was a glorious find in Clifton Village. Small, stylish, elegant, personal and charming. Not in the hussle of the village but overlooking greenery. Charming, sharp decor, amazing beds and linen and room.soaps, shampoo etc. One of the best hotel breakfasts I have ever had and delivered to the door on time. This is all the reasons why small is beautiful in boutique stays.

This is a fantastic, beatifully designed hotel. We had a very spacious room (no12) with views over the park on one side and the city on the other. I highly recommend this hotel and would defintely stay there again.

We were gifted a champagne afternoon tea for a birthday/anniversary. Booking was easy although we had to wait until September due to graduation dinners during August. Well it was worth the wait, the food was superb, freshly prepared and the selection of savoury and sweet so different than the usual offerings. The service was excellent and our waiter, sorry didn't get his name, was efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. An altogether very enjoyable experience on a wet Wednesday afternoon.

Went for a dinner here. Honestly terrible for vegans vegetarians and gluten free. The service was great but the menu options were very poor. They brought out some beautiful doughy bread and then the gluten free option was essentially seeded toast. Some dishes (ratatouille) tasted good but gave a few of us stomach pain. Fries were good. The onion soup was bland apparently and other food was fine - those without dietary requirements didn’t really say anything about how great their food was but no one complained too much. Unfortunately poor menu choice and thought put into those with dietary requirements and those without dietary requirements were not blown away, so overall not really worth the money

Seemed expensive but upon arrival it is easy to see that the quality justifies the cost. Super king bed in a large dog friendly room with massive bathroom and great breakfast/dining options. Casting to the room tv was hit and miss with no native Netflix nor ability to connect own HDMI. Great mini fridge though.

Excellent value for money. I booked a deluxe room with half board. The room was huge. Only downside is that the room was quite dark (even with all the available lights turned on). The people I traveled with reported having the same issues with their rooms. Half board included dinner (one starter or dessert + one main + one vegetable side). Healthy portion sizes and the food was delicious. Breakfast included a hot dish from the menu (french toast, eggs benedict, etc) and access to a small buffet. I would book this hotel again for the half board alone. The service was great. Everyone I interacted with was warm, friendly and professional. Very happy with the stay!

It’s rare to find such consistently outstanding service across the board. Their warmth and attention to detail truly made our stay exceptional. Can’t recommend this place highly enough—thank you to the incredible team!

We have stayed at a few places of this chain over the years, so we know what they are like. This is typical. Good location, large dark rooms, with ok food and too warm. We found the service here very hit and miss. No ability to adjust down the Aircon or open a window (they gave us a fan). The room lighting was terrible with 2 switch's to control some lights but even with all on it was still just ambient.

The Mercure Bristol Grand Hotel, a historic Grade 2 listed building, underwent an extensive makeover in 2017 to give it a stylish and distinctive new look. The hotel's interior combines classic and contemporary elements, drawing inspiration from the city's independent art scene and its rich historic past. Keepers Bar and Kitchen offers much-loved British meals made with locally sourced ingredients in a setting featuring solid wood and metal fittings.
Fantastic. Staff very polite, informative and helpful. Hotel and was Room very clean and tidy. We paid for breakfast which was a help yourself, plenty available and what wasn't out, was cooked fresh to order. Ideal location being in the centre, Downside no available parking for our van so had to park a couple of streets away, but parking available for smaller vehicles. Would recommend and we'd definitely return..

Booked a one night stay for a gig at the Beacon Booked a standard double but got given compact double so the double bed was against the wall one side. I didn’t realise this was a compact double until I looked at the options to book again for another visit so will make sure I get the correct room next time. Our room was a little tired but ok for one night. We were by the lift so a bit noisy with people coming and going. The location is perfect for the city centre nightlife clubs pubs and concert venues. Parking is available and charged at £19 for 24 hrs. The hotel is in the Bristol clean air zone so another £9 per day if your car doesn’t comply. We returned at 1040pm looking at having a drink in the bar but it was closed “ last orders called at 1030! Really!! I would stay again but get a bigger room next time and have a late drink before I returned.

The not so Grand. Once a Thistle, up until recently a Mercure, this central hotel is now run by "by Sunday". Never heard of them? Nope me neither. Try to go to their website and it'll take you to another brand they own 'Oyo' which makes you think you're on a dodgy price comparison site. But all that could be put aside if the actual hotel was decent. Spoiler - it's not. Tired to say the least, Mercure branding has been ripped off and just "hotels" left in place, with random furniture put in place for pieces clearly removed with the change of brand. Paint peeling everywhere and just a feeling of amateurish about the whole place. Again, a lot of this can be forgiven if the rooms get the basics right, but no again. Dated, uncomfortable beds, feeling more like a seaside bed and breakfast than city centre business hotel. The room I was in was at end (technically beginning) of the corridor. There was no gap between corridor, the door and bed. So when drunk people came in at 2/3am, I heard everything. The shower would have had more luck at watering an ant than a human. And equally my room was next to stairs and lift, so every time the doors to stairs were used the door slammed and I could feel it through the bed, plus I could hear the lift motor and lift announcements whilst in bed. Breakfast was another disappointment and not worth the calories. They still do the breakfast that Mercure used to, but have replaced all the ingredients with the cheapest possible things. Such as sausages that are mostly mush with two little bits of bone in them, more water than sauce baked beans and other flavourless assortments. Plus switching off the old pancake and coffee machines and just leaving urns of stale, luke warm coffee out. To see how far behind the curve this hotel is you only need to pop next door to the Clayton. I won't be returning to "The Grand".
Toby E — Google review
Whilst this hotel appears to be lovely from the outside & photosv the interior of the rooms is something not to be desired. We checked in using the touch screen, were assigned a room with a large pillar in the centre next to the bed, when we asked to change this was no issue. However had to go through the maze of corridors & lifts to get to our new room. This then had a blocked sink and the power cut whilst trying to make a cuppa. No spare pillows in the room so if you don't like soft pillows either ask (which we did not do) or bring your own. If you like a basic hotel with shiny interior then this is for you, but I'd expect some issues if you come here. Location is great though, close to car park and amenities.

Great location for the old city bit noisy as close to a busy night life area. Hotel itself must have "Grand" a few years ago nut is past it now. Good sized room, well equipped, great bed, just faded bordering on feeling grubby. I believe it has recently changed hands, defina definitely due for an upgrade.

We stayed at the hotel for a weekend. The staff is very helpful and polite, the hotel is at walking distance from all the highlights and sightseeing spots of Bristol. I only give it 4 stars because the beds were a bit small but the rooms were clean and cosy

Stayed here twice. First time in one of the standard rooms- no issues. Second visit left much to be desired. On our second visit we were allocated a compact room, which was not made clear in the booking process. Compact size was no problem, however the cleanliness of this room was a massive issue. There were stains on the carpet & walls. The curtain at the bedroom window did not pull and so a lot of light came through. There was no curtain or blind on the bathroom window at all- right over the bath and not even frosted which was a bit off-putting. Both windowsills were dirty with what appeared to be black mould growing in the corners. The room was generally very grubby and the shower curtain had a disgusting mark on it with a hair sticking out of it- definitely not cleaned properly. It’s frustrating that different grades of room seem to be cleaned to different standards. No matter how much you pay for it you expect cleanliness. Such a shame about the poor standard of rooms because the staff are very pleasant. I think the hotel could be under new management which could explain the discrepancies the level of cleanliness in our two visits.

First time staying at the grand hotel had some mixed feelings, we were warmly greeted by a young gentleman who was very polite. Unfortunately while he was checking me and my girlfriend in I assume it was his manager. Screamed at him for not wearing his blazer having no idea we were being checked in, I thought the way he spoke to his staff members was disgusting and disrespectful and very unprofessional! I work in hospitality myself and I wouldn’t like to be spoken to in that way by my management at all! Other than the negative energy while being checked in, the stay was really nice rooms were clean had a slight issue with our tv which resulted in a room change at 1:30am.

Mollie's Motel & Diner Bristol is a retro, American-style diner located in Bristol. It features a bar and terrace, as well as cosy booths and high-top country tables perfect for enjoying a pancake stack. Guests can also order classic American dishes like waffles and milkshakes at the restaurant.
Stayed here as our daughter had been to the Oxford branch and said it was really good. Very glad we did! For a budget price it felt like a luxury stay. Room was spotlessly clean and loved the wood panels. Bed was so comfortable we are going to buy the same mattress! It was very sound and light proof too had a great nights sleep. Really like the use of boiling water / cold water taps in corridor. The reception area was really welcoming with a 24 hour bar and snacks available and free tea and coffee and a lovely outside seating area too. We ate at the diner for an early dinner and breakfast and food was great and good value. Amazing puddings if you have room! Would recommend booking at peak evening times and for breakfast as it did get busy. All in all we can’t wait to go back.

Really wonderful place. We stayed in the motel and has breakfast in the diner. The room was so perfect - modern, with everything you need. Good air con, amazing shower, super comfy bed, quiet and dark - we slept brilliantly. Loved the little touches like the ghds and Dyson hairdryer, and the hot/cold water tap in the hallway. The diner was also excellent - breakfast was incredible. Feels mad that this was the same price as the premier inn, but miles better. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Bristol!

We had a fantastic experience at Mollies Diner in Bristol, celebrating my brothers birthday! We were greeted by Dean who greeted us warmly and Dan our lovely server was attentive, kind and so funny! The food was fresh but also felt authentically American, the cookie dough skillet was the BEST part for me! And a beer on the house for the birthday boy! Amazing service, great food, wonderful atmosphere and overall a 10/10 experience! Thank you Dan!

Every member of staff we came into contact with on our two visits were delightful! Thompson who served us at our table was lovely and made our experience even more enjoyable. The man who greeted us at the door (maybe Sam?) was amazing! We will definitely be returning and can’t wait for one to open closer to home!

Fantastic experience here at mollies. The room was smart and well furnished. Bed was amazingly large and comfy. Thompson was our server for dinner, he was very accommodating and made my birthday extra special. For breakfast we had Dan, another excellent host who was super speedy and made sure we had everything we needed. The floor manager for dinner was also extremely nice, we didn’t catch his name unfortunately. Thanks for a great stay, we will be back.

Had an excellent meal in Mollie’s Diner. Our server was Dean, who was polite and friendly. Upon finding out it was my wife’s birthday he ensured she had a free drink and an ice cream dessert complete with sparkling firework; a nice touch. The food was also very good.

I loved my stay! It’s all the small details done extremely well. The free coffee? Tastes really good! The shampoo and conditioner? Luxe and lovely. The duvet? So fluffy and comfy! The ev chargers? Discounted and reserved for guests. The restaurant? Unique and worth a visit in and of itself. And it was cheaper to book last minute than a Travelodge. Plus the room was so clean and well fitted. Highly recommended!

Lovely stay. Abbie in the diner was friendly and very helpful. We stayed in a bunk room but will get connecting rooms next time to try something different. Could do with a heated towel rail, tissue box and some more seating in the bunk rooms. But a lovely stay none the less.

Nestled in the heart of Bristol, the Bristol Marriott Royal Hotel is a stunning blend of historic charm and modern luxury. Overlooking College Green and just steps away from iconic landmarks like the Bristol Cathedral and the picturesque waterfront, this elegant property has been a favorite for over 150 years. Guests can indulge in delightful dining at its on-site restaurant, Miller & Carter, which boasts an impressive menu complemented by an extensive wine selection.
This hotel was perfect; and will be a chain I will now frequently stay at. I booked the Junior suite for my birthday, was met with lovely reception staff. Though there was an issue with my room, I rang reception and we were immediately moved. Both rooms were spotless. The executive lounge was perfect, with the complimentary wine in the night, and followed with a perfect breakfast in the morning. The location is great, and my partner and I had no problem finding the hotel. The hotel itself was gorgeous, the interior was so beautiful and everything looked clean, and the atmosphere made me feel very welcome. Overall, my expectations were exceeded, and I already plan on making this chain my regular.

Great central location. Stayed for 3 nights for my son’s wedding. Room was spacious and clean with 2 comfortable double beds, good shower too! Room gets a lower star as there were no decaf coffee pods in the room and none available at reception. Also we had other rooms booked as we had a wedding group and I was up and down to reception trying to organise a baby cot which we had pre- booked, at 9pm at night this wasn’t acceptable. With one person manning reception there was no response to calls from the room. Charging a premium rate I do expect a premium service for my cash! The inside of the hotel is quiet but rooms facing College Green and Park Street are noisy. I forgot ear plugs. One day there was no room service too! I like my bed made up and fresh milk and mugs.

If I could give more than 5 stars for service I would. I come to Bristol couple times a year from the US for work and general stay at this property. I booked from 21-25 October and was told last minute that I would have to stay until the 26th. A young gentleman named Filip at the front desk was able to assist in extending my room for the extra day without any issues and at the same rate. Thank you Filip for making it an easy process and for being a professional. Cheers!!!

My nephew and I used this hotel as our base during a trip to Bristol. The location is the best. We had a 2 room suite and it was fantastic. The most comfortable bed and pillows ever. We also had access to the executive lounge, this is a fantastic added extra. Great space with snacks and drinks (including beer and wine at night). The exec lounge also included a full breakfast. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend.

Poor experience sadly. Arrived after a long journey and due to them running two systems for booking, the room I booked wasn’t actually available. To rectify they gave me a downgrade on the room and made a real point about the fact that they’d only charge me for the room I was now forced to take. No attempt to turn the error into a positive experience at all, just left with an average room at an extortionate rate that I wouldn’t have booked at that cost 🙄 two stars for service because the girl on reception was very apologetic and kind. Her manager less so.
Gina P — Google review
Nice hotel, well located. Takes the p... they want to charge for any tiny thing. Im sure they charge you an hourly rate for the air you consume. Room sevice with inflated prices, okay thats normall, but 5 quid on top just make you feel like a cash cow especially when they say no to self collection! As does the 2 quid umbrella rental. At a paid breakfast they want to charge you additional for coffee! come on Mariot treat your customers well and you will be rewarded with loyalty.

Excellent location We had enough room for the four of us. Would have been even better if the rooms were better sound insulated. Our neighbours were very load chatting all night long.

Clean, comfortable, kind staff. Although they charged us for making a local call with their landline phone (needed supervisor approval to remove), didn’t have washcloths, and were completely out of napkins. I get the sense management could be improved.

The hotel boasts a stylish bar and café where visitors can unwind after exploring the vibrant surroundings filled with restaurants, bars, and clubs.
Great three star option to use as a base for exploring Bristol. Clean twin room and bathroom, comfortable beds, crisp sheets. Excellent soundproofing, noise from outside disappeared on closing window. Bathroom door wouldn't shut fully but we are great friends for many years and were hardly there so didn't report until check out. Staff made instant report for hotel maintenance. Initial room given was mistakenly a double. Changed instantly to twin room by friendly helpful staff and appreciated given free drinks vouchers also. Bar has life and nice ambience but is not noisy. Outside was more like Magaluf (Saturday) but was almost dead on the Sunday evening. Free luggage storage was great on our departure day. All staff we encountered were friendly. If you enjoy an all round hotel experience book somewhere else - this a great no frills comfortable three star reflected in its price point. It's proximity to the river was a bonus. We would 100% return.

This hotel is in a great location for exploring Bristol. That said, there is some noise outside because of proximity to nearby restaurants. The first key I was given didn’t work on the room so I had to go back down to get a replacement, which worked. I realize this happens sometimes so it wasn’t a huge deal to me and I’m patient. The bed was comfortable and the staff were very courteous, but my room had problems. The air conditioning did not blow cold air upon arrival. Mid-stay the air conditioning stopped working entirely. The fan I was provided with was old, tired, and of the three buttons that make it run, only one the highest setting worked, and even that was very weak spinning. This fan should be thrown out and replaced. The bathroom sink drained very slowly as well. This made me wonder how much of other people’s hair must be blocking the drain. Other than the AirCon and drain problems, this was a very nice stay. I can deal with noise from outside as I’m a heavy sleeper. The bar has an excellent selection of drinks and again, the staff were all terrific. My only issues were with the maintenance of the drain and AirCon.
Kurt H — Google review
Decent room size, lovely beds, quick check in / out, discounted parking very nearby. Bathroom door didn’t shut fully but that didn’t bother us. Shower water pressure was just enough to do the job. Breakfast was a bit average and quite busy at times, go earlier if you can. Overall really good - for the location and room price you can’t go wrong.
Gilly J — Google review
It's a good location, though the noise outside the room at night was a bit much. The staff were nice enough if a little disinterested. The room wasn't good. The "double" bed was just 2 single beds pushed together and they didn't like to stay together. The mattresses were hard, the additional thing they put on top was barely thicker than a quilt and the room smelled of damp or stale sweat. The bathroom door also took considerable effort to open or close firmly. Whilst it's handy for getting around, the room quality is severely lacking.
John B — Google review
Stayed at the IBIS Bristol for 4 nights during a work trip. The rooms are small, but have all you need and are well maintained. Was pleasantly surprised by the breakfast and bar area as I had not expected there to be a bar in the hotel. The breakfast was pretty good compared to a lot of more expensive hotels. Location is great and has a parking garage nearby which you can get a good overnight rate at if you validate you ticket with reception. I'd stay here again if travelling solo.
Alun J — Google review
Had a great couple of nights at your hotel. The room was a little dusty but pretty comfortable and had all I needed. One lift was out of service, so it took a bit longer than it should have done to get up to my room. Breakfast was well stocked and tasty. Quiet room, good lighting, clean bathroom. Thank you!
Hannah P — Google review
Room was clean & comfortable, facilities good, staff good. *DO NOT* buy the breakfast. The best item was the mushrooms, only because they didn’t have any. The hash browns were too runny. (I know). The orange juice was beige. Everything was worse than everything else.

Stayed here two nights for a holiday. The location is perfect for staying in Bristol as right by the main shopping area with pubs and resturants nearby, there is free parking included in the hotel stay and the car park is a five min walk away. Positives for the hotel are, rooms are spacious, they have plenty of storage and hangers. There is a safe, TV, desk area, bedside tables, large bed, hairdryer, good size bathroom with large shower and plenty of towels. There is also an easy to use heating/air con system. There is a bar attached to the hotel, drinks are nice with good options, we didnt try the food. Also a communal ice and water station with jug and ice caddy provided. It was quiet overnight but we were at the back of the hotel so away from the road. ** The staff were just there, I didn't find them welcoming or attentive, not rude but just standard. There wasnt a welcoming atmosphere and noone explaied where things are and we werent told much information, yes, there is an info board in your room but being told as part of the check-in would be a more personal touch. Just didn't feel the staff were bothered either way and fell a bit flat on good service. The lights in the room were a bit weird, lots of lamps and small lights but you has to have them all on or all off at the same time which seemed to defeat the object of lamps. There was a plug with USB sockets but only one side of the bed. Only provided two teabags and two pots of milk at a time, yeah we can ask for more but just seems a little stingy (especially the milk!) ** Our bathroom door handle was broken (which we were supposed to report before we left but we forgot) and 2 out of the 3 lifts were out of order while we were there, not the end of the world and there are stairs but if you need to use the lift it could be quite a wait. ** Overall it was an average stay, it did the job but realised we were paying the price for the location and free parking more then anything else.

Lovely hotel. Rooms are great. Spacious and clean. Love the little added toiletries and also the iced water down the hallway. Breakfast was plentiful, lots of option. Extremely attentive staff and very welcoming. If anything I would the welcome on reception could do with matching the restaurants, but reception were helpful, and quick to serve. Hence why I still recommend as 5*
Fabric B — Google review
The hotel overall was nice, staff were friendly enough but couldn’t offer much help with the parking. Cabot Circus car park had been coned off by the attendants and got turned away, told it was full (no designated parking for hotel guests?) Ended up paying £28 for 24hrs parking at Broadmead. Not good enough! Beds are very springy and sink into, but clean and tidy enough for a short stay.
Will T — Google review
Decent hotel, staff are helpful, room was clean and decently furnished. Right next to a decent car park. Outrageously expensive to stay there on a weekend although this is the same for the hotels nearby. There is free parking (you must remember to get your ticket stamped at reception). Signs within Cabot Circus car park imply that the maximum stay is 24hrs. In fact I arrived at 11am Saturday and left at 6pm Sunday (around 31hrs) and there was no charge. This was a welcome surprise. Location is great, very short walk from most of central Bristol.
James M — Google review
The location is fantastic, and the car park is a major plus. The rooms are big, offering plenty of space. However, the hotel is severely let down by old amenities. The interiors are dated, the air conditioning is ineffective at cooling, and the mattress is extremely uncomfortable. A great spot, but be prepared for a very poor night's sleep.
Tak H — Google review
Good location and free parking available. For the price this hotel was adequate and met our needs for 1 night. However, the bed was not comfortable and bounced around each time one of us turned over and to welcome you the bed was not even made properly. The bottom sheet was NOT even tucked in , nor was the sheet ironed which made it looked like the bed had been slept in (but don't think it was) PLUS the housekeeper could not even be bothered to fully put the pillow cases on fully (half hearted fashion). To me I think this really lets the housekeeping down, showing such a poor unprofessional touch of standards to welcome their guests. Even the scatter cushion was heavily stained! Very disappointing. We chose not to have breakfast and I'm rather glad we didn't. No personal interaction on front desk not even "how was your stay" or "have a safe journey" or "thank you for staying with us". NOTHING! They need to up their game in my opinion, which doesn't take much. Wouldn't bother staying here again.
Karen P — Google review
Very helpful front desk. Room big and clean but lighting a bit odd. We could not individually turn off our bedside lamps. Otherwise very good and only a ten-minute walk from Temple Meads.

I'm a big fan of youngs pubs and Horts has always been our go to in Bristol. This time I thought it could have been better. I ordered a pink processo from the menu which is my wife's favourite only to be told they have changed it! Well update your menus then. The processo they had changed to was flat so I returned it however they seemed reluctant to belive me and then told me they had no more so swapped to a white processo. Bit frustrating. We ordered the beef short rib which I have to say was superb and very enjoyable. I then orederd a sticky toffee pudding which was dry not sticky and throughly disappointing. I should have returned it. Come on Horts sort yourself out you can do much better than this. You should be ashamed to serve that as a pudding particularly after the main was so good. Remove it from you menu its awful. I shall return to Horts for sure and I still recommend it. Its a great place but needs some customer focus and better puddings.

One of the best places to eat in Bristol! Amazing staff, great range of food options and reasonable prices - can’t ask for better than that! The decor is nice inside and the layout means there’s plenty of seating options, whether you’re by yourself or in a group. All meals I’ve had here have been delicious, can definitely recommend the Niçoise salad but the beer options are great here too. Will be back for sure!

A right bloody farce from start to finish. Shown to table. Given menu. No water for the table nor any drinks offered. Waited 15 minutes then had to ask a lovely but harassed waiter for a bottle of red wine. 10 minutes later we were asked for our orders only to be informed that all of the starters we had decided on were sold out. At 13.00, that's impossible. Then waited over an hour for our main courses to arrive. They were not at all hot, potatoes were boiled at best, certainly not roasted. I ate mine but my Husband had completely lost interest in his as this point as his was also not hot and he'd gone off the idea due to the lateness of it's arrival. Other people were having much the same issues as us. We have booked Christmas day lunch here and are now very worried of the possibility of it also being a similar disaster. I get that they were short staffed and under pressure but they should have contacted their Booked Diners to inform them that there was an issue on that particular Sunday. We would have therefore been ready for the wait or could have made alternative arrangements for our Sunday roast. We have been here on a number of occasions and have always had a delightful experience. Very disappointed to say the very least!

Excellent hotel for early morning flights. Continental breakfast from 4am before hot breakfast from 6am. Although check in was busy staff were quick and efficient. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had an amazing stay at Hampton by Hilton Bristol Airport. From check-in, the customer service was excellent. Bradley was so pleasant and even noticed my birthday bag – he kindly gave me a complimentary drink voucher, which was such a thoughtful touch. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the room was spotless – I had a great night’s sleep. The next morning, I checked out at 4am only to face a nightmare at the airport with cancellations. When I returned to the hotel around 7am, I was warmly greeted by Adina, who went above and beyond by allowing me to enjoy the breakfast I had missed and even return to my room for a much-needed nap. Both Bradley and Adina made my stay extra special, and I couldn’t be more grateful. I left very happy and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone – truly wonderful service!

Excellent location, just a 4 minute walk from the terminal. Upon arrival, reception staff were helpful. Room was very nice. Good size, clean and bed was very comfortable and large. Very quiet..... couldn't hear any noise. The only negative was the breakfast. By 6am, the "continental breakfast" had basically gone.....just some cereal and a bit of bread left. So waited a few minutes for the hot breakfast. It was hot.....but unfortunately fairly bland and tasteless. I overheard other guests saying the same thing......they weren't impressed with the hot breakfast.

Stayed one night, for a flight next day, staff pleasant, helpful and nothing was to much trouble. Room clean tidy and loads of room and a nice sized shower. Good selection for breakfast that would cover anyone's taste and dietary requirements. Close to the airport, approx 7-10 minutes walk, but this should reduce once the airport improvement works are completed.

Hotel is very well positioned next door to the airport. Rooms are newly decorated, clean, tidy with everything you need. Bar is a little expensive but as expected. Great for a night before you fly
G B — Google review
It's worth mentioning we have stayed here plenty of times when using Bristol airport for a early flight. This time some standards have sadly dropped. The hotel was difficult to get to (the airport have changed the way you get in) Upon arrival we were greeted by what must have been the most miserable looking receptionist I have ever met. We had a queen size bed, the duvet needs to be bigger as it is not big enough to keep 2 people warm. The toilet was constantly leaking water all night and reception unable to fix until the following day. Breakfast was very poor this time, tough bacon/sausages, not enough selection out (probably because it was peak time) and generally inedible, it actually hurt my teeth. This isn't a budget chain hotel but sadly it felt like it on this occasion.
Lisa S — Google review
Always a friendly and efficient service from the reception, through the bar and restaurant staff to the breakfast chef that helped me with the waffle maker. Comfortable room with a great shower. Shame about the airport prices, but it was to be expected.
P L — Google review
Firstly I want to say that my rating and review in no way reflects the staff, who were impeccable, but overwhelmed. The room wasn't unpleasant, simply soulless. The room TV was awful,no Apps available and would not connect to my devices. The food in the restaurant was atrocious. I started with the wing's of fire, they were not in the least spicy, they were tasteless and the chicken skin had that slimy texture, as when heated in a microwave £8.95. An hour later I asked where my main course was, it arrived an hour and a quarter after the order. The bun was stale, inside was a tiny insipid piece of slimy lettuce, a small sad slice of tomato and a single ring if raw onion. The burger pattie itself was the kind you can get in a catering pack of 100 for £20. The frozen fries were mediocre, the coleslaw was mostly red cabbage and was tasteless, £13.95. You would be better off ordering a delivery online than eating here. To the management, don't bother responding to my review with your excuses. The Premier Inn Bristol City Centre (Lewins Mead) hotel offers cozy rooms in a relaxed setting, along with an airy restaurant serving modern pub cuisine. Situated in the heart of Bristol, this hotel has garnered positive feedback for its convenient location, cleanliness, and value for money. Guests have praised the peaceful ambiance of the rooms and excellent service. Some recommend opting for the Premier Plus room for an enhanced experience.
My partner and I have stayed here twice now and it never disappoints. This week and back last year for a city break. The staff there are always welcoming in a friendly manner. The rooms we stayed in are always clean and presentable too. The hotel is in a perfect spot of the city because you’ve got Brewers Fare next door, close to two shopping centres, restaurants, a Odeon cinema up the road and lots of nice destinations to visit for tourists. I totally recommend it!

We’re frequent travellers and often choose Premier Inn as it’s easy to find their branches near city centres. The Bristol one lived up to expectations — clean, comfortable rooms and friendly, cooperative staff who genuinely make you feel welcome. Their premium rooms are spacious and spotless, perfect for a short city break or a work trip. The breakfast is consistently good, and it’s nice to see new food items being introduced to keep things fresh. The only small downside was the Wi-Fi, which felt a bit slow at times, especially in the evenings. But overall, it’s still great value for money — reliable, convenient, and always a safe choice for a comfortable stay in Bristol.

This is a cracking hotel, dead in the middle of Bristol. They have Premier Rooms on the top floor which (apparently) have a kettle & fridge, but these only fit upto 2 people. We chose a Family Room (one double bed and an extra single bed) and it was perfectly comfortable. The rooms are clean, modern with plenty of plugs and a cool LED headboard light. My only gripe is the toilet paper... it's one of those sheet-by-sheet dispenser things, and is a pain. Bring along a bog roll with you ! And although they offer discounts on the NCP parking prices, you might find going for a room at Future Inn, which includes free parking (if you book direct), offers nicer rooms at a cheaper price. And a special mention for the brilliant food in Brewers Fayer restaurant downstairs. If you go online, you'll find that they have a pretty good Gluten Free menu, their staff are trained on this stuff to avoid cross contamination, and they do cracking 12pm-6pm deals on Main Courses costing just £5. Great food, great staff and really good service. Only one little tip... if you book far enough in advance, the rooms are £45 a night. Sometimes (for a family of 3), this price rises to above £200 a night.

Great bed, nice bit to stay, very central. Hairdryer not brilliant but cannot fault anything else. Staff lovely and good communication re check in etc

Friendly staff. Great location. Was upgraded to a Premier Plus room which was spotless. Was visiting the Bristol Beacon which was less than a 10 minute walk away. Didn’t use parking as I came by coach. Would stay again.

Going to Bristol for the first time I picked this hotel as I wanted to be in the heart of the town ! Hence paid the high cost of staying in the city center! I would say, it's a serve yourself kind of place! I was given a room with such a window view! Went downstairs to complain as there is no telephone in the rooms or outside the hall way for room service or complaints! You have to use your phone to call them! unless you go back downstairs! Due to such window view I changed room three times! At first was told no more rooms or all are the same but when another client came in, while attending to her and hearing me complaining of being cluster phobic she told the guy to check! In the second room I just called my partner that I can't stay here, and he has to call them for them to move me to the fourth floor! I wonder why I was treated this way while does that were, on the queue before me and after, were sent to 5,6&7 floor I was sent to floor 1,2 finally 4, also the rug needs changing!
Pcg G — Google review
I was in an accessible room as I need a wet room, but there was no plugs near the bed so I was unable to use my breathing equipment. A member of staff did search high and low to find one with no luck. Because of this I was barely able to sleep and ended up leaving early. They do have rooms with outputs near the bed, however they are only in the plus rooms and they don't do plus accessible. The location is brilliant, not too far from the train station, not too far from anything really!

Perfect position to visit lots of places. Shopping centre 5 min walk. Bus station round the corner. Short walk to aquarium, we the curious, Upside-down house and ferris wheel, all neatly in one place. Hotel staff are lovely, rooms clean and facilities ideal

Holiday Inn Bristol City Centre, an IHG Hotel, offers casual rooms with complimentary Wi-Fi in a relaxed setting. The hotel is conveniently located at the gateway to the southwest and minutes away from popular attractions like Cabot Circus and Bristol Hippodrome. Guests can enjoy modern amenities such as soundproof walls, flat-screen TVs, and city views. The hotel also features a stylish restaurant, bar, and gym.
An absolutely fantastic experience from the moment we checked in at reception, where the friendly and welcoming staff greeted us. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The entire venue was immaculately clean. Our room was extremely spacious, spotlessly clean, beds and bathroom were fantastic. The food is of an exceptionally high standard. A special note must go to our waiter in the evening, Aarc. Extremely polite, professional and helpful. A credit to the company. Highly recommend if your looking for somewhere to stay in Bristol

Disappointing based on the reviews. We booked a long weekend for a romantic getaway to see a gig. As a chronically ill, disabled person, finding a wheelchair accessible room can be tricky, and travelogge are often my go to. We tried this place, booked through IHG. The room itself was nicely furnished. However, the IHG booking information wasn't observed by the hotel. We were promised a ground floor room, but ended up on the fourth floor. We also were promised a late check out of 3pm. On every single day of our stay, we lit the "do not disturb sign", and hung the paper one on the door. On arrival, I started having a mild allergic reaction to something. Assuming it was probably feather pillows, we called for hypo allergenic ones. The person who came was very rude and informed us that they were all hypo allergenic. It became apparent that the was a bed bug issue (bugs, bites, and old blood on the sheets that indicate the issue), and likely a reaction to the pesticide used, and I only had a problem with the carpet/soft furnishings. On the first night, we received a phone call just before midnight when we were already in bed, to the toilet phone, stating someone from our room had been to the bar and they needed to clarify something. As no one from our room had been to the bar, I had to confirm the room number, and it turned out they had the wrong room. The manager called the room, and I explained it was fine about the pillows. I did mention that the toilet door was broken, as it was very stiff and wouldn't close without a significant amount of force. My partner is a power lifter and he could manage, but as a disabled person using a disabled toilet, I couldn't. The lock had also been removed, and the toilet flush was broken, but I did say these things were not a problem and we didn't really want to be disturbed and we would make it work. She said she would send Maintenance the next day after 11am. The next morning, house keeping knocked on the door early anyway, despite the signs etc which, would have woken us up. They did the same thing the following day, and asked what time we were leaving (we weren't, we were staying another night). My partner complained to reception, who said that the housekeeping staff didn't speak good English (which doesn't explain why they can't understand a red/green light, or the do not disturb sign), but checked and confirmed a late, 3pm check on the system the following day under the IHG notes. He said it wouldn't happen again. The following day, housekeeping not only knocked on the door, but when we said "no thank you", opened the door anyway and came in, asking "when are you leaving"? When we phoned reception to complain, we were told that the late check out for 3pm was on the IHG system, and it is separate to the Holiday Inn System, and that housekeeping won't come back until 3pm now. He did not apologise. When I pointed out that we had been disturbed every day and had been promised this wouldn't happen, he said that housekeeping need to prepare rooms for guests. Apparently if you book through IHG you are less valued as a guest, and any booking information will not be taken seriously. If you are disabled you are even less important.

Spent only one night with family...room was very comfortable as described. Staff were supportive. Breakfast was amazing....and all the restaurant's staff had a high level of hospitality, making us feel at home and getting us all that we needed with a big welcoming smile. I had an issue with the wrong booking through booking app and the reservation team helped resolve the issue with a high level of professionalism. The hotel is perfectly located at the city centre and it's a few min away from all attractions. It will be my 1st hotel selection whenever I visit Bristol

Generously spacious. Prompt maintenance service (had a light out in the bathroom mirror area and was fixed by the time we got back that evening). Friendly staff. Great location. $20 parking per night but felt worth it. The garage is somewhat tight though, just a heads up. Didn't use the gym or eat there but those looked spot on👌 as well. Joined the IHG program and got to sleep in a little more for a late checkout option, would recommend considering!

Really liked it here. It's really hard to find a single hotel room that accommodates a family of 5 but they offer a one-bed suite which is massive. We had booked another hotel having to opt for 2 separate rooms at a much higher cost so was very happy to find this. The location is great opposite Primark and lots of stores in Cabot Circus. It has an NCP car park located next door. Staff were lovely handing the two youngest gift bags. Never had that anywhere else we've stayed before. Breakfast lovely. Would definitely return if we visit the area again.

Great hotel with clean, spacious and good quality finishes and fittings. Although there was minimal storage. Very quiet as couldn't hear a sound from other guests. Had breakfast and the staff were lovely. And it was enthusiastic to note that this is an equal opportunities employer. Very impressed overall

Came to the Leonardo as wanted some decent prices for city parking and looked like a decent hotel. Its tucked away in a lovely courtyard and very easy to find. Parking was really good and felt very safe. The room was huge! Cosy! And had everything in it that you could need. The hotel staff were really polite and helpful. Shower and bathroom was excellent and the beds were very comfy. Highly recommend, will be coming back!

Great location. The room we had was a bit smaller than last time & the shower tray was blocked & the bathroom fan didn't work. Great breakfast choice, but on the dot of 10,o'clock everything was cleared away. I think they should allow 15mins before they take it,it was done very swiftly without being told.

Really great location and vibe, all very well laid out, decorated and a relaxed atmosphere - fun that the staff had dressed up for halloween. Good selection at breakfast though a bit overpriced at £13 each. Comfortable beds, spacious room & good shower. Very quiet and had aircon so good control of temperature.

What can I say? Had potentially the single best customer service interaction of my whole life with Andrea at front of house! She was fantastic from start to finish. You couldn’t asked to be greeted by a warmer more friendly character. Nothing was too much to ask, even when I felt bothersome. I feel my life has changed for the better after our interaction. Andrea restored my faith in customer service and people in general!! Very kind, patient and considerate - witty also makes life a lot better when someone can have a laugh and joke, energy infectious. Made my life a whole lot easier. I was due to stay for two nights and move further away but as the customer service was so good, I decided to extend my stay for the duration of my stay in the UK! I really couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Andrea thank you, if I am back in Bristol I will 100% be back again! Keep on shining, you make the world a better place. Regards, Jordan.

A fantastic hotel, ran by a brilliant team. Just enough out of the way to enjoy some peace, but close enough to get fully emersed in Bristol life. The breakfast is top quality with lots of chocie and providing vegan sausages was a perfect touch to suit my needs. We dined in the restaurant and I'm so glad we did, the small salad topped with Chicken was sublime and generous, the large must be massive and the sweet potato fries were a perfect side👌🏻. The team go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and work extremely hard keeping the place clean and tidy. The Office Manager deserves a special mention, he was fantastic checking us in and then looking after us in the restaurant, he even removed the avocado from my dish when I told him I wasnt a fan 🤣.

Absolutely Exceptional – Deserves 5 Stars! I recently stayed at Leonardo Hotel Bristol City and was thoroughly impressed. The breakfast was outstanding, offering a wide variety of high-quality options that catered to every taste. The staff were fantastic, especially the team at the front reception desk—warm, friendly, and always ready to help with a smile. My room exceeded expectations, especially when compared to typical UK hotel standards. It was spacious, super clean, and modern, making my stay incredibly comfortable. In my opinion, this hotel deserves more than 4 stars – it easily feels like a 5-star experience. Everything from the service to the cleanliness was top-notch. Highly recommended!

The Clifton Hotel Bristol is a Victorian villa hotel located in the upscale area of Clifton. It offers simple yet comfortable rooms and features a cosy cafe, wine bar, and restaurant with a terrace. The hotel is dog-friendly and conveniently situated near green spaces for walks, as well as upmarket shops, cafes, and restaurants. Its location amidst beautiful towering townhouses and independent boutique cafes makes it an ideal spot for a romantic weekend getaway.
Nice hotel with acceptable price (Bristol Hotels extremely expensive for germans...). Very small room like a prison cell but everything there you need, even your ohne bathroom & shower. Nice Staff at the reception !! If you walk downtown it's 20mins. For a few days on a Business Trip absolutely okay. Not for couples, sorry

Our one night at The Clifton Hotel was nice, gentle and we could relax after a long day of travelling. The rooms are comfortable and cozy, but they don’t have outlets next to the beds, our electronics had to fight against a fan and a kettle. The breakfast buffet is overpriced for what its offer but the menu option is good and flavouring. Staff were always super friendly.
Cleber F — Google review
Just had a lovely stay at The Clifton Hotel. I had a single room and the size although small was perfect for me and my tiny dog. it was well equipped with everything we needed - clipper tea, kettle, coffee, biscuits, toiletries and a fan! The shower was warm and good power. There were renovation works taking place on the building and ac but I was informed about this when booking. Without the fan it would've been too hot though. The hotel staff were fantastic, just so friendly and helpful - they even helped me out when my phone charger failed to work by lending me some from the box of chargers left behind at the hotel! It's well located with easy walkable access to Clifton Village/bridge and city centre with lots of buses running nearby. It's very dog friendly - my pup seemed to enjoy walking around sniffing the front garden and greeting people drinking at the bar and wasn't that anxious with all the people coming and going. The nearby Victoria Square was great for walks and sniffs. I had the breakfast one morning which was very nice but there are also good options dotted around Clifton and Whiteladies road for trying too- such as Budapest Cafe, Bakesmiths and Foliage (all dog friendly)

Rooms was extremely hot, had to leave the fan on all night and still had to sleep on top of the duvet. You can feel the heat hit you as you go up the stairs. Would definitely ask for a room on a lower floor. All staff were very friendly. There is parking at the hotel but costs £12 a day/night. Good location, not too far from the centre, can walk down, bit of a hill coming back up though.

My husband and I spent a night at The Clifton Hotel and really enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and comfortable; the staff friendly and helpful; and it's in a perfect location for this beautiful part of Bristol, as well as the city centre. It was a hot weekend when we visited and the room was very warm at night - the hotel provided a fan which certainly helped provide a bit of relief, but just something to keep in mind.

I have been staying at this hotel 2 to 3 times every year for the last 8 years. It has comfortable and personal old world charm and character. I would particularly like to thank Judith who always greets me with a warm welcome back.

An unusually bad experience with this property, so I am writing this review to warn other users. I stayed in May 2025. 1) The pictures of the hotel on Expedia make the hotel look fancy and nice. However, as you arrive, you realize that the building and the rooms are very old and shabby. Moreover, my room was so tiny that I had to put my clothes on the floor as there was no other options. 2) The hotel is extremely noisy with an outside bar located directly at the hotel. The hotel will warn you about this noise situation, but only after you have booked the property, and - as in my case - they denied responsibility by claiming that they had warned you about the noise in advance. 3) To make things worse, my room was located next to a huge building's air conditioner outside, with the constant noise throughout the night. I could not sleep the entire night. I contacted the hotel for a refund, and as nice as they were, they refused to refund more than 20%, stating that I should have complained directly during the night and not after my stay. 4) I paid with my credit card via their electronic machine at the hotel. Surprisingly, the receptionist demanded that I still give her the credit card. I noticed that she quickly flipped it and typed up the secret code from the credit card. I have never experienced this practice before, and I do not think it can be legal. At the same time, I must add that the hotel staff was nice, but it kind of did not matter in the end.

Nestled along the vibrant waterfront, YHA Bristol offers a unique blend of budget-friendly accommodations and a lively atmosphere. Housed in a charmingly converted grain warehouse, this hostel features basic dorms and private rooms that cater to various travelers. Guests can enjoy delicious meals at the on-site cafe-bar, which serves up hearty options like pizzas and burgers at wallet-friendly prices.
We stayed here for a stag do and it seemed well kept and didn't feel ratty or run down like some hostels can. The food and beer was better than passable in the bar and I wrote enjoyed it. I can't speak to what it would be like if you hadn't booked the whole room, we had a en-suite room which was convenient and clean. My only small complaint is that the drinks package we booked for the function room was slightly underwhelming although we managed to have a good time in what is a conference room anyway. They did ask for everyone's driving license before letting us stay which was slightly long winded for a big group, but I understand it must be their general policy. The hostel is extremely well placed to see the city, being right next to the river and by a lot of the bats and clubs.

I've stayed at this hostel 4 or 5 times now and have loved every stay. Firstly location wise being so close to the arnolfini and harbour side is excellent, the staff are very friendly, welcoming and extremely helpful. The rooms are always tidy and there is very little noise from inside the hostel. One previous visit also saw a local musician play some acoustic music which was lovely. I'd recommend this place to anyone.

If you're absolutely desperate to save money, this isn't the worst place to stay. It's a very basic, no frills spot to crash for the night, especially in the dorms. The staff were lovely, friendly and helpful, which made a big difference. The cafe and breakfast options could really use more vegan choices, though. Overall, not a bad place at all, just very simple.

YHA redefined It's been quite a while since I last stayed in a YHA place and my experience in Bristol blew me away. At every single area the experience was nothing short of outstanding. The staff, their helpfulness, the drinks, food, beds, luggage storage, showers (amazing). It was perfect. Well ok one toilet could have been a bit cleaner but that's my only negative. I highly recommend this place, especially it's location slap bang in the docks. But don't take my word for, try it for yourself.

The Washington Guesthouse is a charming Victorian accommodation located in the heart of Clifton, Bristol. It offers a variety of rooms including budget, en suite, and family options with complimentary breakfast. The guesthouse provides a welcoming atmosphere and is situated near major landmarks such as the Clifton Suspension Bridge and Cabot Tower. This family-friendly establishment also caters to vegan guests and those with allergies. With its convenient location and attentive staff, it's an ideal choice for a comfortable stay in Bristol.
Shared a twin room with my sister this weekend. Good location and staff were all so friendly, helpful and professional. Most appeared to be students and I was so impressed with their service. A credit to the hotel. Breakfast selection was also good. Only one let down was one of the bed covers which is just located at the foot of the bed was dirty on arrival. We just removed it . Everything else was clean including the sheets and bathroom
Cherie D — Google review
Absolutely disgusted with the state of the room. Bad points: • Bed throw was filthy • Hair gel pot left on the floor – clearly no proper cleaning done • King size mattress dumped on top of twin bases, overhanging at the sides, and so old it’s basically collapsing • Plug socket broken – unsafe • Uneven floor throughout • Bathroom stinks of must and damp • Toilet is loose and wobbles when you sit on it – unacceptable • Extractor fan in bathroom doesn’t work and the bathroom window doesn’t open properly (slides back down after opening a couple of inches) • Lovely paint work (not) – scuffed, dirty, and peeling in places • Beautiful view out the window of staff on their fag break • Walls are paper thin – can hear every single noise from other guests all night Breakfast: • Poor choice for vegans – it’s just a normal breakfast with the meat taken off. No vegan options at all. • My son chewed the bacon like it was leather and then gagged on the vile sausage. • Fire alarm went off during breakfast because they burnt the toast – absolute chaos. I spoke to reception about all these issues, which were passed to management, and I was offered a 25% discount. While I understand they may think this is a positive gesture, it shouldn’t have got to this point in the first place. Rooms should be clean, safe, and fit for purpose without guests having to complain. Frankly, it’s a disgrace. As a paying customer, I shouldn’t have to complain to get basic things like cleanliness, decent food, or safe, usable facilities. The room should be 100% ready for guests – no excuses. Anything less is pure laziness, lack of care, and disrespect for people spending their hard-earned money. Good points: • Lovely receptionist – really friendly and helpful • Great selection of coffee, tea, flapjacks and a cafetiere in the room • Fruit provided in the room • Shower very powerful • Big room • Location is good and easy to get into town Ratings: • Room 🌟 (if I could give zero, I would) • Service so far 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 • Location 🌟🌟🌟🌟 • Breakfast 🌟 Overall, the staff were great, but everything else was a complete shambles. It’s clear there’s no pride in maintaining even basic standards of hygiene, safety, food quality, and comfort for guests. Would not recommend staying here until they overhaul their rooms, maintenance, and kitchen completely.

Overall this place is comfortable enough. Rooms have a tea/coffee tray which was nice. Cleanliness of the rooms was acceptable. Downfall of the room is it was very hot, on a not particularly hot day, only bearable as there was a small fan in the cupboard we had going all our whole stay. Plugs by mirror etc are awkwardly placed so some things you cant actually plug in. Tv worked well and good access to channels etc. The staff were all very friendly and polite. This saved our breakfast experience- unfortunately the waitress was the only one serving with every table full, she was very polite and apologetic you could tell she was run off her feet. Everyone in the room had been waiting a long time, we waited 45minutes. We were about to leave and ask for the breakfast portion of our stay to be refunded, and then she brought our food out. Many people asked for multiple things milk, cutlery, glasses etc and were told they’d get them, and then have to ask again. None of this was her fault, it was clear it was very understaffed, we all felt sorry for her. When breakfast came out it was lukewarm, average quality. Location is great for the centre, 5-10min walk from the Clifton triangle, and outside the CAZ zone.

Needed a last minute room so booked this as was offering B&B for an incredible price. Once arrived staff were really friendly and room was spacious and comfy enough. Had breakfast in the morning which was really nice done just the job hence leaving this review. If you’re looking for the Ritz and have high expectations then get your money out and pay extra as seen reviews slagging this place off and for the price what do you expect?? This was perfect for me and my gang and offers great value for money. Will def return when in Bristol again

Stayed at The Washington for one night. Every staff member we interacted with was amazing. The room was clean, spacious, and it was directly next to the share bathroom/ toilet. That was also a disadvantage, as some guests were using the bathroom really early in the morning, causing us to wake up at 5am.
Anastasis P — Google review
Cheep and cheerful and pretty underrated, with comfortable rooms that match the pricing. I didn’t have high expectations when I booked this hotel after reading some of the reviews and seeing how cheap the rooms were. My partner and I are university students and we wanted to visit Bristol for a weekend on a budget. £90 for two nights was a great deal considering how nice the room was for that price. We had a double overlooking the street. Some things were a bit scruffy, the shower is quite weak and the controls aren’t that user-friendly, and the bedspread was a little unclean but the sheets and mattress were perfectly fine. The window could open a little further but I suppose it’s to stop you from climbing out onto the balcony. Aside from that the staff were very friendly, the breakfast was really nice and fully included, with lots of options, and overall our stay was exactly what we were hoping for.

The Berkeley Square Hotel is a boutique art hotel located in Clifton, Bristol. Housed in a Georgian building, it boasts an acclaimed British restaurant and a private members' club for creatives. The hotel features a rotating exhibition of local artists' works and offers modern British cuisine made with seasonal West Country produce at The Square Kitchen. Guests can enjoy after-dinner cocktails on the heated and covered al fresco terrace.
Me and my fiance stayed here back in July 2025 for a few days and had a fantastic time. The location and the view of the park we had from our room was stunning. The room itself was extremely comfortable despite it's lack of AC and the sort of mugginess you get from an Atlantic/UK summer. This was partly because the staff quickly responded to our request for an extra fan and had one in the room for us after we stepped out for a quick coffee. The real reason why I felt compelled to leave a review is because the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. I forgot the names of the people who worked there but the woman with the spider tattoo and the blonde dude were both fantastic. They responsive, attentive, and professional while also being personable and making us not only feel welcome but like we belonged. I've experienced a wide variety of customer service in the UK and while I would say everyone is generally awesome, the details can be lacking. That was not the case with this staff. They helped store our luggage, provided refreshments, and had some pretty great jokes/banter. When we come back to Bristol, we'll definitely be staying there thanks to these staff members (PS - Give them a fat bonus or buy them a drink they deserve it!)

Big plus for the location – it's close to pretty much everything! The breakfast was à la carte with a small buffet (cereals, muffins, fruits), but it was delicious, and the portions were satisfying. The room was clean and the bed comfy. I will stay here for sure if I visit Bristol again :)

Stayed here with family over the weekend and had a wonderful stay. First impressions were great - hotel is in a quiet garden square of beautiful Georgian buildings. Reception staff were super friendly and welcoming and were happy to make recommendations for walks and places to eat. Room was spacious and clean and well equipped and the bar is well stocked with lovely ambience. Great place to stay in Bristol!

We were booked here for two nights to attend an event at Bristol University nearby. There was live music until midnight that boomed around our room preventing sleep. The reception staff said at first it would stop or rather “come inside” at 10:30 and finish at 11pm. At 11:15 still listening to a painfully bad band I contacted the receptionist again to be told it wouldn’t finish until midnight. How on earth did this place get 4 stars? It was torture. I then discover there’s a disco until midnight on the following night. So off to the Travelodge tomorrow. Half hearted apologies and an offer of a 10% discount didn’t cut it. The web site makes this place look quite prestigious but being forced to listen from my bed to a bunch of drunks singing along to badly played Oasis songs and a noisy hand drier somewhere near doing the percussion section made water boarding sound attractive. Bristol is one of my favourite cities, but this experience has ruined a hitherto unblemished record. There needs to be some space between the hotel and the noisy out of tune racket and some sound proofing put in too. Just really really bad.

Based on our 2 night stay we would not describe the hotel as luxury or romantic. The 'fresh fruit' consisted of 3 sad apples and the delicious biscuits were the usual standard hotel packet biscuits. The superior double room was cramped, dusty and the bed linen was worn. The ensuite was very compact and nowhere to store your toiletries. The ensuite fan was broken and remained on all night so little sleep. It was repaired promptly the following day. Ate in the restaurant with two other diners. Service was abrupt and no atmosphere. Disappointing stay overall.

Nice little place for 1-2 nights with restaurant & reasonably clean. The room albeit tastefully done, was very crammed - bed was wall to wall right up against the window. Air con in hall but unless you jam your door open, it's not much help as the room was 23-25°C right past midnight. Edit: That window frame in 4th pic hasnt seen a paintbrush in 10+ years though, it has flaked to the bare wood! You have option of street parking or the secure garage at £17 per day. View of Brandon hill & Willis memorial building. Nice bathroom with roll top bath and very good restaurant.

Well Situated hotel. Our first room was more of a basement room, nice decor but no proper window to open, it felt closed in . The tv didn’t work and the lovely Ella from the front desk tried to help us out , it wouldn’t work so in the end , we upgraded to a beautiful suite at a small extra charge . Fabulous room with everything you need , clean, great bed just an amazing space . Would highly recommend. Thanks once again to Ella

I think the hotel is in the process of updating rooms since some of the comments were posted. Our room was great, very large comfy bed (we had the mid range superior room) ground coffee and tea leaves plus herbal tea bags in the room, with tea pot and cafetiere. Good shower and toiletries. Nice chilled out area for breakfast, the room rate including breakfast was cheaper than room only for some reason, we don't normally bother with breakfast. Dog friendly rooms £10 per pet extra, they can room you for breakfast too. Nice small park over the road and handily located for clifton village. Secure parking £17 they have 11 spots available. One small letdown , no air-conditioning in the room and the sun had been blasting it all day. There were 2 fans in the room so it was OK, the corridor was air-conditioned tho so it was a bit of a contrast going in and out. Also very friendly and helpful staff,

Fantastic hotel. Just had a 2 night stay here and I was very glad I chose this hotel. All the staff are very friendly and helpful (Lara deserves special praise, very professional), and the service and food was of the highest quality. The rooms are quaint, and extremely clean and comfortable. Far better than experience than the usual franchise hotels around the area. I will definitely be staying here again on my travels to Bristol. Highly recommended.

I was here in early August, 2025. I stayed in a compact, well appointed room on the top floor... it had everything I needed. The neighborhood around the hotel is wonderful: great restaurants and coffee places within a 2 minute walk (and even more if you walk... gasp... 5 whole minutes). The Clifton suspension bridge is about 5 minutes walk away: it is really cool (I'm an engineer so I happily nerd out about things like that).

We had a great time at the hotel as a party of 8 for a hen weekend. Staff were helpful and accommodating. It’s in a great location to explore Clifton and central Bristol. Reason for 4 stars rather than 5 is our room was boiling and the fan provided wasn’t adequate to cool the room. Also our breakfasts were served at different times- meaning some had finished before others were served. Regardless I’d go back to stay and recommend the hotel for couples and groups.
Natasha R — Google review
Great position in Clifton village. Unfortunately our room was very small and needed refurbishment with peeling paint on ceiling and burn marks in bath. Although not dirty it could have done with a better level of cleaning. Mini bar is reasonable and staff are really attentive. Would I stay there again? Yes. Just needs a little tlc. Position and service outweigh the negatives.
Jay T — Google review
Staff are friendly, cocktails are nice but the room was terrible. Unbearably hot the entire stay. Several degrees hotter than outside for the whole night - even with window open and fan on. No airflow as there’s only one window and it is nailed so that it only opens 5 inches. We ended up cutting our 2 night stay in half and left after 1 night.

Lovely little hotel with a beautiful internal garden and excellent breakfast. The hotel is located in Clifton, perhaps one of the best parts of Bristol. It is also right in front of the bus stop, making travel to and from the city centre really easy. They made a really high quality, and tasty, cooked vegan breakfast for me. I would definitely recommend The Rodney Hotel to anyone looking for something that's authentic and high quality in Bristol.

Hotel in a good location but very limited private parking, have to use nearby public / on street parking (paid for). No elevator, just stairs so if you're on the third floor, don't take heavy bags. Room ok but little cramped and dated, liked the tea, biscuits and fruit. Unfortunate bad taste in mouth after their manager Susie agreeing I could cancel my first night and arrive a day later than originally booked, but not telling me I would not get a refund for the cancelled night. If I had known no refund I would have used the full booking. Thanks Susie.

Berkeley Suites, located in Bristol, offers luxury accommodation with stylish design choices and fully kitted out bedrooms and bathrooms. It is set a short walk from Clifton Village, a lively neighbourhood full of shops and restaurants. The hotel has its own private garden and kitchen facilities.
Stayed here over the weekend whilst doing some shopping. Lovely to have the additional space and it was really nice and quiet too (there was some 'city' noise, which I'd expect given it's location, but it wasn't too loud at any point!). The bed is super comfy and the kitchen area is so cute! I want one! Really enjoyed the projector as well - very unusual, but we enjoyed our 'mini cinema'! The team at the Berkeley Square were all really friendly also and breakfast was very good too. A great stay, will come again!

It was truly nearly the perfect room - talk about luxury! The living room is definitely the main character - the chandeliers, the furniture. All was simply extraordinary. However, the bedroom was quite standard, I would say, considering the expectations that the living room set. Perhaps, I was expecting something even more impressive, but, of course, it is just a bedroom at the end of the day and it served it’s purpose - great sleep 🤭. Some attention to detail was also lacking in some areas, for instance in the shower and the mattress itself there were some hairs found, but that didn’t exactly bother me at the time. Talking about breakfast - I would say there was quite a lot of things that you could order for your mains, including vegetarian options. The staff at the breakfast service was also reasonably polite, but didn’t acknowledge me upon the arrival. Location - 5 stars 🌟 ! The hotel was located in a rather very convenient location, which allowed me to explore the city that I was planning before I arrived. There were quite a few shops and restaurants around the hotel itself, so definitely worth it. There was also a nice park and a tower right next to the hotel. Overall, this hotel was an add-on to my Bristol adventure and provided an escape that I very much needed.

Not very good. We paid for breakfast but weren’t notified at any point that they were ending breakfast early on 20.09.25 so we missed it. There were also numerous things missing from the room: no bathrobes and slippers, no complementary fruits, snacks, or Bristol cream sherry advertised when we booked. The sofa was also broken and the bed rolled around the room with any slight movement as there didn’t appear to be any break mechanism on the bed (which was on wheels). This was the start of our honeymoon and we paid a premium price for the room (over £200 for 1 night!!!) that we don’t think was worth it at all! To top it all, we’ve tried to contact the provider numerous times to chase on a refund we were promised by The Square Club reception for the breakfast miscommunication and haven’t heard back at all.

I called this hotel before booking to see if they had a lift and parking since we're traveling with an infant. The person on the phone told me they had a lift so I proceeded to book on the same phone call, but she failed to tell me that the suites we were booking were in a separate building with no lift. Our suite was on the top floor so we had to carry our baby, stroller, and all the associated luggage a baby requires up 6 flights of stairs. For the parking, our SUV didn't fit in the hotel's provided parking garage so we had to park on the street. The room itself was very cramped despite having a separate living room area and I felt like most of the decor was just for pictures and not exactly useful. For example, there was complementary pasta available in the kitchenette but no pot that would fit the pasta and no strainer. I called down to ask for paper towels or a dish towel and they told me they didn't have that and asked what it was for. The fridge was full of items for purchase so if you actually wanted to store anything in the fridge there was no room. I had to crouch to get into the bed because of the low ceiling (I'm 5 foot 3). I'm not sure how this is listed separately from the Berkeley Square Hotel, they're the same place. Despite all of this, the halloumi at breakfast was very good.

Very good location and nice design however lack proper maintenance; we checked in at a very cold winter night and was told the heating is set on a timer and it will be on quite some time. Actually the bedroom heating was not working for the first night, the next morning I woke up shaking. The windows are all old style. Although look really nice, they are poor sealing from the cold air. If you book this hotel, my suggestion will be: 1. asking for any rooms but the loft room. The floor is tilted and thus the bed is not even. One person will be struggling not to fall during the night. Hope the hotel will change the mattress soon. Another drawback of the loft is your activity is limited due to the height, it’s a personal sense of aesthetics of course. 2. After checking in, make sure all skylights are closed, we stayed 2 nights and found the sky lights in the living room were slightly open, that’s why I felt cold all the time. 3. To be fair, the shower and bath is very nice and clean.

This was our first time visiting Bristol and it did not disappoint!! We had a fantastic stay at the Berkeley Suites last week.. my room was well appointed and decorated to a very high standard. I had forgotten to book parking before arrival, but the brilliant hotel reception staff were able to quickly resolve this and found me a space in their private garage. The hotel is in a great location close to Clifton Village and the harbourside.. we also discovered the Southville area of the city and were treated to the amazing street art that is on display down there as part of Upfest… definitely worth checking out!

The Clifton Suspension Bridge, a stunning creation by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, elegantly stretches across a dramatic urban river gorge. This iconic structure not only showcases remarkable industrial design but also embodies the rich history of Bristol's engineering feats. My journey to understand this landmark began in 2010 when I explored the area with my camera in hand, eager to capture its essence.
The views are breath taking. This is such a beautiful bridge and part of Bristol’s culture. The structure of this bridge is amazing. The surrounding areas are beautiful. The Observatory is nearby. This is definitely worth a visit if you are in Bristol.

Fab views, easy to walk across and you can see birds of prey diving and hunting from the end. There is a free museum that tells you all about Brunel and the bridge - we didn’t go but it looked interesting. £1 for cars to cross but free for foot passengers.

A must do when visiting the Clifton Suspension Bridge is visiting it by foot. There is a great walk from the river going up (you have to cross a busy road, but it is worth it as you see the bridge from different heights and angles. There is a digital tour with lots of information, download recommended!

Before sharing my review, I want to acknowledge that the Clifton Suspension Bridge, despite its beauty, has sadly been the site of tragic losses. That’s why it’s so important to remember that help is always available. The Samaritans can be reached 24/7 at 116 123, with compassionate people ready to listen and support you through any situation. Remember, you matter, and the world is brighter with your smile in it. The Clifton Suspension Bridge is truly a sight to behold. Its beauty is breathtaking, especially when viewed from afar with the Avon Gorge beneath it. The bridge is steeped in history, having been designed by the famous engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel and completed in 1864. Walking across the bridge is free, and it gives you an incredible perspective of the surrounding area. Driving over it costs £1.50 for cars, which feels fair considering its importance. Visiting at night is especially beautiful with the lights turned on, creating a magical atmosphere. The bridge is not just a stunning piece of architecture, but also a vital link for transportation in the area and a symbol of Bristol itself.
Ayyub C — Google review
We walked 40 minutes on a rainy day to see the Clifton Bridge and it was well worth it. The views were spectacular and the bridge itself a feat of engineering, fascinating.
Claire Ģ — Google review
Love our visit to the bridge! However, the drive up to the bridge was a tricky one for me. Narrow two way roads with cars parked either side, with lots of sharp u-bends. Once at the destination we were lucky enough to find parking on the street (i felt we were lucky with that space). Parking cost almost £7 via the RingGo app- I’d advise to download this beforehand as we had poor phone signal which made it difficult. Walk to the bridge is short and once there incredibly impressive. The walk across is only open on once side at the moment due to maintenance on the other side- regardless, the view is a great one! Walked back over to then take the short walk up to the observatory tower for a much better view of the bridge (in my opinion). The observatory has a cafe and a cave for another different view of the bridge. Apart from the last 10 min drive up to the bridge and paying for parking, it’s brilliant. Exactly what it says on the tin and a beautiful scenic walk and view. Highly recommend!

Passed through the bridge on the way to Wales. It's a nice piece of history and in good weather offers a nice view along with being able to marvel at the engineering. The area is nice and there are coffee shops close by. If you drive over you have to pay £1

A Timeless Icon of Engineering and Beauty – Clifton Suspension Bridge Clifton Suspension Bridge is more than just a way to cross the Avon Gorge—it’s a breathtaking symbol of Bristol’s heritage and ingenuity. Designed by the great Isambard Kingdom Brunel, the bridge seamlessly blends 19th-century engineering brilliance with stunning natural surroundings. From the moment you approach, the views are simply unforgettable. Whether you’re walking across or gazing from the Clifton Observatory, the panoramic sights of the gorge, River Avon, and surrounding countryside are spectacular at any time of day. Sunset, in particular, casts a golden hue that transforms the entire scene into something magical. The bridge itself is an architectural marvel. Elegant and enduring, it continues to function as a vital crossing while drawing visitors from around the world. There’s also a small Visitor Centre nearby, offering insight into its rich history and the challenges faced during construction. Whether you’re a tourist, photographer, history enthusiast, or just someone looking for a quiet spot to reflect, Clifton Suspension Bridge delivers. It’s not just a bridge—it’s an experience.

Whether you're a beginner or an experienced surfer, this unique activity caters to all levels of ability and operates year-round. Lessons include equipment hire, making it easy for anyone to join in the fun.
I was here with my friend, he was the one who did the surfing and I am just there to watch him do it but I have to say the place looks really nice. My friend has a lot of fun surfing there and for me it is about the food. I had dirty fries with pulled pork + Korean sauce and it was a 10/10

Stayed over there in the camp for one night and had a 50/50 experience. Place is lively and the staffs are friendly. Didn’t have a problem with the distance between the venue and the car park as a little bit of walk doesn’t hurt me. The tent unit was quite impressive. Was full of basic and useful supplies. The downside was the wind hitting the tent at night that made me & my friends awake most of the time. Also, having a policy of “no open fire” was disappointing as you expect to have bbq while camping. But then again it’s understandable since the area if full of grass! Will I return? Yes, but not for the camp, just to learn to catch the wave cause it looked so fun!

Fantastic! I had the improver session and did shocking! But I had to much fun the waves were perfect I just should have had a beginner lesson instead. The man who ran the session and the woman lifeguard were brilliant, giving advice and hyping me up on each go. 11/10

The Wave is an absolutely fantastic place. I’ve been lucky to visit quite a bit this spring/summer, and with each lesson I’ve learnt so much from the extremely talented coaches. Getting instant feedback in the water makes such a huge difference. The instructors are always so kind and encouraging, helping you to hone in on the next improvement to tweak your technique. I’ve gone from beginner to improver and am now really enjoying starting to try turning and gaining speed on the intermediate waves. Having consistently perfect waves means that you can really see the difference in adjusting your own efforts. If it’s your first time here, I’d highly recommend a lesson, to get to know the excellent system & set-up if you can, though the sessions are also great. The staff are so thoughtful and enthusiastic, the food is incredible (so many delicious veggie and vegan options, and a whole gluten free menu), and even if you’re not surfing it’s a wonderful place to spend time. I’ve been visiting since they first opened several years ago, and it feels like they are constantly updating and improving, with sessions for all abilities, children’s play areas and great accessibility. I’ve ended up bringing non-surfing friends here just to enjoy the amazing food and atmosphere. It’s easily my favourite place in Bristol. There was a tricky week during a change of management and it’s an absolute credit to the staff that they got everything up and running again so quickly. Absolutely worth a visit!

I visited Wave for the first time on a clear blue skies day and sunny! Their premises are really nice and definitely contain a massive man-made wave area. They also have a canteen and a store that sells numerous products. I had booked the beginners class and the first 45 minutes of the class were really nice and my trainer Jack showed us quite a few things while also being funny. Unfortunately when we got to the stage of getting into the waves, I was asked to leave my group and join the other group on the other side with two different coaches due to having too many people, although we were split before we started the training. And unfortunately, this meant that I joined the other group while they were getting into the water so I felt like I had a lack of attention from the coaches on that team. I did try a couple of times to catch a wave and it was fun but I can definitely say I did not have a £75 training experience and coaching. It’s sad that they put so many people into groups which means the coaches can’t help everybody. I would understand that if this was a £20 here is a board and here is a wave make the most of it session but this is not how it’s sold on the website and the price that you pay for I was expecting more help from the coaches and attention. It’s unlikely I will be visiting again, but if you want to try with a friend definitely do so, but don’t expect much from the coaches if they are overbooked.

Went to The Wave today and wasn’t sure what to expect after all the recent news about it closing and reopening. I’m happy to say the service was just as good as ever, and I had a really special day out. The staff were friendly, the vibes were great, and the waves were pumping. Would highly recommend - get down there and catch some waves. You won’t regret it.

This was the first time I had been. I booked an improver session and really enjoyed it. I was not sure which session to choose that corresponded to my ability and this one seemed to be about right. I thoroughly enjoyed the session and the coaches put you in the perfect position to catch the waves and shouted when to paddle and the paddle faster. Although after a while that did stop. Maybe it was the style of session I was in, but I would have quite liked to have had some coaching to improve my ability, in the sense of advice and tips seen as it's an improver session. I did enjoy my time and would certainly go back. The session did give me the confidence to ride the waves I would like to and I got a lot from it. I can see it may be difficult to give coaching as the session goes on but if you are booking the improver session looking for coaching tips and advice as you go. It's not there. Maybe in a different session it is. I don't know Like I said, I enjoyed the session very much and would certainly go back.

My first time surfing at the wave and oh my god I’ll def be back again very soon! Surfing lesson was a 5/5; however had to take one star down for the parking. Horrible car park! Ubered to and from the place but was glad to have someone accept both rides, as drivers also found the car parking area really bad. Booked a one night camp there, was fine and clean but won’t book an accommodation there next time as I found it hard to sleep with all the rain and wind sounds. A great experience overall, hope they open up in London soon!

The Bristol International Balloon Fiesta, an annual event since 1979, is a beloved festival held at Ashton Court Estate. Hot air ballooning teams from around the world gather for this four-day spectacle, featuring mass ascents with over 100 colorful balloons taking to the skies simultaneously. The fiesta offers breathtaking views and unique experiences such as the night time glow event where balloons are inflated and illuminated to music.
A very well organised balloon fiesta in a huge spacious ground to accommodate everything. Free entry ✔️, car parking ✔️, availability of multiple toilets ✔️, food stalls✔️ multiple stalls with varieties of things to order so you are not forced to eat what you don't like, drinks availability, recreational games for children as well as adults ✔️, live concert✔️, can take pets/dogs ✔️, security, ambulance for emergency, guidance maps on site✔️. Huge crowd as seen in photographs, excited people. The perosn anchoring live sounded so well, adding energy to the mass. I loved the way he presented and advertised Bristol for this fiesta. I would also like to highlight the buses and their efforts. They had the balloon fiesta name displayed on them, so it made easy for people visiting Bristol for first time as it left with no confusion on bus selection to get to the site from the bus from the train station. Note: You should be aware of the train timings and plan your stay at the fiesta accordingly.

It was brilliant, I really enjoyed it. I'd waited 20 years to go, and it didn't disappoint! We were in the sky lounge which was a relief as it was so hot and it was shaded there. There was so much to do with hundreds of stalls selling food and drink, crafts, clothes and toys etc. and there was an amusement park. The only downside was getting out of the car park was horrendous, the staff really needed some training on traffic control as people were getting angry at the way it was handled and I'm surprised there were no accidents.

Nevwr been before, parking was easy as we had repaid. The day was fine and stuff going on all day. Lots of places to eat and drink and rides and enough to keep the kids entertained. The night was very busy though and took a while to get to food vendors. One criticism wasnt enough toilets for the event and they were looked after. Otherwise was a good day and would def go again.

If good viewing place is needed, one has to arrive earlier and catch the spot. There's also a longue which can be booked prior visiting this place. The view was good. Also always check the wind pressure before visiting this place. More the pressure highly likely the show might get cancelled.

The Bristol Balloon Festival is an unforgettable experience. It’s free to attend, and we treated ourselves to Sky Lounge tickets and I must say it wasn’t worth the price since. But it would be ideal for the views and comfort. The highlight was going early in the morning to watch the balloon launch truly priceless and magical. Hats off to all the balloon pilots, crews, and organisers for making this such a spectacular signature event in Bristol. A must-visit!

This is such a great experience. The park is huge, there’s plenty of car parks too just need to book ahead and then there you are, in the middle of the crowd. Founded in 1979 this show provides you with hot air balloons experience along with other little shows such as mini plane demo, security dogs exhibition and many more. On the top of these there are multiple amusements and take aways (way too many 🤪) to choose from. Plenty of toilets in the proximity of the show on multiple sides so you can’t go wrong. Balloons ascents occur based on weather conditions but even if they don’t take off you still enjoy the night glow which is the best. Book your stay nearby and don’t forget that there’s also a sky lounge in case you want to have a front row. To be honest the view on the hill (free stand or picnic area) it’s much better than the VIP sky lounge so pick your choice. The place is suitable for families, kids, dogs, etc. Just book and go but prepare for a delayed exit if you have parked in one of the venue car parks if you will attend the night glow, massive queues will occur and there is no guidance or traffic control in the middle of the field (absolute carnage), took us about 45 mins to drive off the field.

An unforgettable experience! The Balloon Fiesta is truly one of Bristol’s highlights — the sight of so many balloons taking off together is magical. The atmosphere is vibrant and family-friendly, with plenty of food stalls and activities. Highly recommended if you’re in Bristol during the event, especially for the evening glow shows.
Huseyin D — Google review
The balloon didn’t managed to rise tonight but the night glow show was very enjoyable. We didn’t manage to book the blue car park so it was slightly a longer walk. There was also a lot of road blocks at night after the festival and it took us 30-45mins to get back to the city centre. But it was overall a great experience.

Nestled in a serene setting, the Aztec Hotel & Spa is a modern business hotel that seamlessly blends contemporary comfort with relaxation. Guests can enjoy stylish rooms equipped with complimentary WiFi and versatile meeting spaces, making it ideal for both work and leisure. The hotel's spa is a true haven, featuring a swimming pool, sauna, and various relaxation areas to unwind after a busy day.
I stayed at the Aztec for a few days while on vacation in the UK. The rooms are nicely appointed and the bathtubs are lovely. Very comfortable beds and the breakfast isn't bad either. The front desk is very responsive and helpful. If you book a lake view room, beware, it's a bit of a trek to get there from reception. I went to the spa and received a massage and facial from Adriana, and it was one of the best spa experiences of my life! She was so friendly and kind, not to mention extremely skilled at her trade, I am so happy she was my massage therapist. If I come back, I will be requesting Adriana specifically, she was great!

Stayed here on a Friday night for one night with our toddler (3). Had a family room and it had great freebies for our son that made it a lovely stay- cookie, special cup and plate, milk dispenser, mini robe and slippers and a rabbit wash bag. He was really happy and it was very cute! The room was big enough for us and clean but only one robe. We called for more pillows and had a quick response which was good as we were all pretty tired! Walk-in shower was fine- did miss a bath, especially with a small child. We used the pool which was nice and family times were reasonable. The changing rooms were not very clean though. The breakfast was lovely! Good selection, great service and lovely area to dine. We had to book a slot which was fine by us and to be honest, we prefer it that way to get us out of bed and also to avoid overcrowding at the counters to get your food.

We recently had the pleasure of decorating a wedding in the Cotswold Suite at Aztec Hotel & Spa in Almondsbury, and what a wonderful experience it was! From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, friendly, and incredibly helpful, always ready to assist throughout our setup. The surroundings of the hotel are beautifully maintained, offering elegant grounds and a stylish interior that adds charm to any celebration. The Cotswold Suite itself is spacious and versatile Aztec’s largest function suite, ideal for accommodating substantial guest lists with room to breathe. During our decoration, we brought in our signature professional wedding styling services chair decor, draping, lighting, floral accents and the suite’s proportions and design truly lent themselves to our vision. What’s more, Aztec Hotel & Spa offers so much more than event space. It’s a full 4-star hotel with an indulgent spa, top-tier restaurant dining and modern amenities such as in-house catering, AV equipment, and comfortable guest rooms. Its location off the M5/M4 and in the Aztec West business park makes it convenient for guests traveling from afar. If you’re looking for a beautiful wedding or event venue in Bristol, I wholeheartedly recommend Aztec Hotel & Spa.

I stayed overnight at Bristol Aztec and Spa Hotel on Friday 29th August and honestly it was perfect. Everything about it was just amazing – the service, the facilities, the atmosphere – it all felt really welcoming and luxurious without being stuffy. The relaxation lounge is a dream. You can just sink into the cozy seating and enjoy the snacks like granola and all the little extras that make it feel really pampering. I felt completely taken care of the whole time. I cannot recommend Bristol Aztec and Spa Hotel enough. It was honestly a perfect stay from start to finish. Every single member of staff was friendly, attentive and just brilliant. I will 100% be back and it really deserves every bit of praise.

The food included in the package was delicious and we were both stuffed. We will both be returning and recommending to everyone we know.

We stayed here for 1 night to get away and relax before our baby arrives. The Hotel was lovely, nice big room, quiet and well maintained. We both had 2 massages booked in the spa. We chose this hotel as the spa has a pregnancy trained therapist. I had 2 pregnancy massages with Adriana and I cannot praise her enough. I am 36 weeks pregnant. She was very caring and made sure I was comfortable at all times. The massage was very relaxing and just what I needed. If you're pregnant and looking forward a chance to relax then i would definitely recommend bookng with Adriana. Dinner and breakfast were great and we will stay here again in the future.

Sacred & Religious Sites
Temple Church, located in the Redcliffe neighborhood of Bristol, is a historic site that has survived through centuries and even a World War II bombing. Originally built as a round temple by the Knights Templar in the 12th century, it was later reconstructed into a rectangular church in the 14th century. Despite being largely destroyed during WWII, its remains are now a Grade II listed site and attract numerous tourists.
Temple Church in Bristol is one of those buildings that just makes you stop and stare. The architecture is unreal. You can tell it was built in a time when people actually cared about making things beautiful, solid and meaningful. The detail in the stonework, the way it’s put together, it’s just on another level compared to the plain boxes we throw up today and call buildings. The crazy thing is it was made in the 11th century and it’s still standing. That’s a serious flex. Most modern stuff struggles to last a few decades before it starts falling apart but this place has survived wars, weather and everything in between. Walking around it you just get this feeling that we as human beings have devolved when it comes to designing buildings. They built art back then, now we build car parks with windows. It’s a proper reminder of what real craftsmanship looks like and why places like this need to be looked after.
Ayyub C — Google review
Visited during the Bristol Light Festival and the light show inside made this historic landmark (bombed in the war, no roof and a leaning tower) look amazing. A really good experience and even though busy was fine.
Pete L — Google review
Ruins of an old church next to a shady park. Some parts are roped off, but you can still see most of the church and an outline of the original circular church. Great place to relax with your family and learn about the Knights Templar and the Bristol Blitz. Accessible through the front entrance. Free entry, free parking, child friendly and dog friendly.
Meredith P — Google review
An incredible location that stands as an example of the devastation of war. And yet despite this, it still stands proudly - despite slumping slightly to the side! It was a great experience being able to stand in the grounds of the church ruins during the Bristol Light Festival. The use of this church during activities like this is truly great.

Beautiful small spot within the modern city of Bristol.

What’s left of the church is cool, it’s got a weird lean to it. Homeless living inside it in tents and homeless in all the gardens, few drug addicts inside when we went too.

Beautiful heritage sight, ruined church. This place is very close to temple meads station. A small garden is connected to this old, non operational church. There is no roof to this structure. If you like to see old ,ruined archaeological structures, this is a place to visit.

Bristol Shopping Quarter is a bustling shopping area located in the heart of the city center. It boasts a wide array of shops, from well-known high street brands to unique independent boutiques. The quarter also features an impressive selection of dining options, including cafes and restaurants serving diverse cuisines. Visitors can take refuge from the rain in one of Bristol's shopping centers, which offer entertainment for all ages, such as cinema screens and family-friendly activities.
I absolutely love spending time at the Bristol Shopping Quarter! Every visit feels magical, especially around this time of year when the decorations and lights make it feel like Christmas is just around the corner. The atmosphere is warm and festive, and each shop seems to add its own unique charm to the holiday spirit. Walking through the beautifully lit streets and seeing the Christmas displays gives such a cozy, joyful vibe that really gets you in the holiday mood. There’s a great variety of stores to explore, from popular brands to unique, local shops, making it easy to find gifts for everyone on your list. I always look forward to my visits here—it's the perfect place to embrace the holiday spirit while getting all your shopping done!

I stayed for a conference, was on the 6th floor, we had a buffet dinner meal provided by the hotel. Location - next to the castle park and within a few minutes walk from Cabot circus. A noisy road is next to the hotel and the window glazing in the rooms isn’t enough to block out the traffic noise. The hotel is right next to a NCP car park. Room - plug sockets next to the bed including USB, no overhead light in the main part of the room but there are multiple standing lamps around the room. I was provided with a desk and chair and an armchair and table. Others in my conference had bottles of water in the room but none was provided in my room. The bed is very firm which suits me. Pillows and duvets were feather and quite heavy, the pillows lost shape very quickly. I could hear the person next door snoring very loudly from the bathroom which was unnerving, I couldn’t hear them from the bedroom itself. There was a large screen television with a good number of channels to choose from. Tea and coffee facilities were provided in the room. Other guests were incredibly inconsiderate - on both nights I stayed groups of people came back late 1.30am and 2.30am and were so incredibly loud in the corridor and woke me up. You could hear everything they said from the bedroom as though there is no sound insulation on the doors and walls. Breakfast - a huge selection from hot cooked breakfast, pastries and bread, muffins, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, meat and cheese. Sweeteners were kept in a cupboard so you had to ask every time you wanted some and they only brought one sachet. Decaf coffee is only available by request but there are no signs explaining this. Dinner - we had a private dinner as part of the conference, the food was lovely and plentiful. On the table was water and orange squash. Never before as an adult have I been given orange squash as the only soft drink option at a dinner! Very peculiar. Staff - were friendly and helpful. Facilities - there are three lifts but one was out of service all weekend and the others in high demand so was very slow to be able to get up and down to your room.

We booked a room for a family of 4, paid around £200 for a night including breakfast through booking.com. Very disappointed! Excepted a premium room for that price ! They said the room is renovated but only to find stain on one side of the bed and the built up dirt on the toilet bowl (yuckkk!!) . And paid extra for the castle view but again disappointed as the window glass is very dirty outside! One star is for the breakfast which was really good. And the location is really good. Parking is a nightmare if you own a big car. NCP parking has height restrictions and so we had to use their staff car parking (at the back of the hotel) which they charge £17 for a day! And no one will open the barrier for ages ! We had to call the hotel and wait for long to get in and outside for the car park!! Overall a very bad experience!!

Right by the beautiful castle park and a stonesthrow away from the Cabot Circus shopping quarter. Cabot is slightly more expensive for shopping with shops like the Lego store and The North Face but you've got the other reasonably priced stores round the corner down the high street. The hotel itself is quite beautiful and the staff are very helpful. The room wasn't anything special but had all the amenities I needed for my stay. Good shower, comfy bed. Wide-screen TV to name a few. Reasonably priced for an offshoot of the Mariot. Right next to the beautiful Castle Park if you just want to take a stroll round the bandstand. Would stay here again.

We were very satisfied with our stay at this hotel. At the reception, we were warmly welcomed by an incredibly attentive and friendly lady, which made a wonderful first impression. The room and the entire hotel were spotlessly clean, with a beautiful and cozy interior. The view from the window was stunning and made our stay even more special. Overall, the service and atmosphere were excellent — we highly recommend this place!

I stayed at this hotel over this weekend and the service we were provided from start to finish was fantastic. There was a big group of 15 of us occupying 4 different rooms & nothing was too much trouble for the staff. A big thank you to Kerri P who looked after us all weekend. She is a credit to this hotel and business.

My experience was really bad due to the following issues: - Most uncomfortable Mattress I have ever witnessed in any hotel. Even with two toppers it was as hard as a brick. - Extremely slow lifts. - Not even a single sip of drinking water was provided in the room. - Shower cabin with half glass door as a result, washroom was all wet. - Extremely old TVs where you cant even cast your phone/laptop. - Old and noisy Aircon/Heating Unit.
Roohan S — Google review
The room is so cold due to the damaged wall. I asked taking a look in the morning but they’ve never done anything even i came back that evening..They said they have no idea because the reception staff are shifted(????????)when i call them back evening. Or is it the refrigerator concept room for the halloween? P.S. the engineer eventually came and said it is as it was. The electric heater is too noisy to turn on during overnight. So, there is no way to avoid that cold air coming into the room. I realized that the bedding has been completely chilled due to that cold air. Not easy to sleep well.

Located in the heart of Bristol city center, Hilton Garden Inn Bristol City Centre offers modern and upscale accommodation. The hotel features sleek and bright rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows, some offering park views. Guests can enjoy the convenience of a 24-hour fitness center and free WiFi. The international restaurant, Arc, provides a warm and friendly atmosphere for dining in the evening as well as for breakfast.
I recently stayed at the Hilton Hotel in Bristol and had an outstanding experience from start to finish. I checked in on Monday and stayed one night, checking out the following day. The hotel itself is modern, clean, and welcoming—but what really made my stay exceptional was the amazing service. After I had checked out, I found myself in need of a quick wash later that evening. I called the reception, and a lovely receptionist named Annie answered. She was incredibly kind and accommodating, arranging a room for me to freshen up even though I was no longer staying the night. That level of care and flexibility is rare and truly appreciated. During my stay, I had all my meals—breakfast, lunch, and dinner—at the hotel, and each one exceeded my expectations. The food was delicious, well-prepared, and beautifully presented. A special mention goes to the helpful Asian lady working in the restaurant; she was so attentive and friendly, making each dining experience even better. Overall, I highly recommend Hilton Bristol. The staff are wonderful, the food is top-notch, and the customer service goes above and beyond. I’ll definitely be returning on my next visit to the city!

Great place, location, breakfast, rooms, beds, good value for money, very happy with the stay, but for the love of God please be consistent on what you are telling HH members on KIPSU, Elena told me she couldnt help when I was having issues with my CC and I had to call Hilton support center (but the whole point of why we introduced KIPSU was NOT to make any calls), but the next day without any issue Peter, bless his heart, told me not to worry about my reservation as it would not be cxl or marked as no-show. Not a complaint, just a very small area for improvement and I would still recommend this hotel. Cheers.

A genuinely welcoming atmosphere and top-notch service — I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again!

The hotel was clean and quiet, which we appreciated. However, we were disappointed in the morning when, while rushing to leave for our journey, we found that all five bathroom dispensers (which were supposed to contain toiletries and creams) were completely empty. For £200 per night, this was very disappointing. Additionally, we were not informed that we needed to request basic items such as toothpaste. In other hotels, even at much lower prices, the bathroom is fully stocked with essentials such as toothbrushes, combs, and even sewing kits. At Hilton, to not even have basic washing liquids provided feels unacceptable and certainly not worth the price.

My second stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, Bristol, proved just as enjoyable as the first, solidifying its place as a top choice for a city break. Its prime location in the heart of Bristol's city centre is undoubtedly a major draw, offering convenient access to all the main attractions, shopping, and dining options within easy walking distance. Beyond its excellent positioning, the hotel truly shines through its staff. Every interaction, from check-in to check-out, was met with warmth and genuine helpfulness. The team members are consistently lovely, always willing to go the extra mile to ensure a comfortable and pleasant stay, which significantly enhances the overall experience. The rooms themselves are another highlight. On both occasions, I found them to be of a great size, providing ample space to relax and unwind after a day of exploring. Stayed one night with our family of four, in two rooms. Check in was great, nice and welcoming. Beds were comfortable and bathrooms clean. The hallways and stair areas could use an update and refresh, the old brown carpet makes the hotel feel outdated. The elevator was also slow and one was out of service so we ended up taking the stairs with our luggage. The breakfast in the Kiln room was fantastic, a great selection of breads, pastries, cereals, meats and cheeses plus hot food, everything was excellent and the staff were friendly. Highly recommend !

Originally from Bristol, never stayed here as haven’t had the need. Moved away and ended up staying here for work. What can I say….the staff are fantastic, from reception, to the bar and the room service. Such genuinely nice people who aren’t scared to have a laugh with their customers which is refreshing. Hilton Kensington could learn a lot from this particular Hilton hotel. The rooms are lovely, not massive but more than enough for one or two people. Decor is lovely, bit tired here and there but hey ho nothing bad at all. THE FOOD….oh my gosh it’s amazing (pictures provided of the dirty fries and Caesar salad) Will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone, will be recommending it to my team at work for work trips going forward. Thank you ☺️ *Edit* I’ve unfortunately removed a couple of stars as I feel like the hotel have acted over the top by posting a letter under my door at 6:30am about a “discrepancy” with my bill. I’ve phoned in a panic thinking there is something wrong with the payment for the whole booking (paid for by work) and it was only to tell me I owe them £4.25 for the over spend at my evening meal. Come on!! I would have been paying that when I check out so why put a letter under my door causing panic?? Not impressed, I pointed out what I ordered and it doesn’t make an overspend at all. So I don’t owe them anything. Starting the day on a sour note….

This is the best hostel I have ever stayed at. I was only going to stay here for a night on a trip from New Zealand but ended up staying for about 10 nights due to extenuating circumstances and I am so happy I chose this place. A friend recommended it to me ❤️ I felt so safe here, the staff were so so kind and helpful and I genuinely felt like I was at home which was a lovely feeling while being so far from home. The facilities are awesome, the kitchen is so well equipped and I loved the lounge and dining area which was overlooking the bar and street. I honestly miss it hehe, thank you so much Full Moon ! 🩷

I can't imagine visiting Bristol again and not staying here! The hostel is large, the rooms are beautiful, clean, and well-equipped. Everything you need is in one place. Want to make dinner? There's a huge kitchen (with free coffee!). Want to chill out? There's a common room with a TV, games, and books! Want to dance? There's a beer garden and two bars downstairs with different styles of music! The staff was also super helpful. I had huge boxes of music equipment with me (I'm a street musician). They helped me organize and store them. I 200% recommend this place!

An easy to get to hostel, it’s right by the bus exchange station. Rooms are spacious enough and staff are very friendly. I wouldn’t say it’s a very clean hostel, the bathrooms weren’t great and were sometimes out of soap and hand towels. The common area and kitchen was great and big. The pub outside is really good and super social. It’s open till late so if you’re an early sleeper, not the best for you. Overall, a fine hostel and they let you keep your bags there for free after checkout.

I'm not someone who usually gives reviews but the situation makes it necessary. Indeed, when you find yourself in a room that costs £70 a night and you can't sleep before 2am, it's a bit limiting. It's true that it's specified on the site that there are evenings until 2am at weekends, which is perfectly normal and acceptable. You know in advance what you're signing up for and it's always a pleasure to see people enjoying themselves. I'm often one of them. No problem with that. However, 80 decibels in room M above the bar are a little less pleasant. The people and the music outside aren't a problem, it is often of high quality and can lull you to sleep. But the bass in the bar are clearly problematic. Earplugs won't help : you can feel it in the floor, the mattress and your body. You might as well go and sleep in the middle of the motorway or on an airport runway, the night will be quieter. I'm not even sure that this is legal in the sense that if a fire alarm sounds in an adjacent room or the corridor, it's not even certain that it would be audible with that noise. My opinion certainly won't change anything about the policy of the place, which is more a place to party than a hostel. Travellers serve as a useful additional source of income, but their comfort is clearly not highlighted and relegated to last place. In short, know what to expect. Book on the top floor if possible. Avoid room M above the DJ. Or come with the aim of partying until 2am or more. To the owner: soundproof? Seal off the M room? Install double glazing? Lower your prices for the most hardcore rooms? Only things that require a bit of investment, which doesn't seem to be your goal, which seems to be more immediate profitability. While the comfort and safety of your residents, as a hostel, should be paramount.

Loved the venue. I arrived to amazing a house music event in the court yard. I appreciated the proper bed, larger bedrooms than most hostels and the staff were the happiest and most welcoming I’ve ever experienced. I’ll definitely recommend and be back! Love your unique vibe 🥰 Great location with loads of cool street art around.
Sam B — Google review
If you want to party then this place is perfect. If you want to sleep between Thursday and Sunday forget it. The vibe was nice, staff were lovely, the place seemed clean but the noise is impossible to ignore. My only other issue is the bunk beds have no ladders. No you need to be pretty agile to get to your top bunk if you're unlucky enough to get one. Had to check out on day of arrival.
Lindsay B — Google review
Great staff, it is very loud and the music doesn’t stop until 2am. They did offer us earplugs but if you’re a light sleeper I’d avoid. On the other side, if you’re looking for a party it’s definitely the place to be.
Danny D — Google review
I stayed here for a few days when moving homes. It's extremely cosy, lively and has retained the old world travellers hostel atmos. Attached to a pub, located in Stokes Craft the party district of Bristol, things can get pretty wild in a good way. The walls and woodwork is imbibed with art that Bristol City is famous for, the communal places are cared for and there is always a game going on for you to join in. I had a comfortable stay here; the staff were very helpful and chill. The hostel is across the street from Bristol Bus and Coach station and is well connected. All usual facilies are available here. Not recommended for the early to bed types.

Bristol Temple Meads is located in a region known for its independent and mystical vibe, alongside the cities of Bath and Wells. Bath is famous for its elegant architecture, thermal waters, and ancient Roman past, while Bristol proudly displays its industrial heritage with attractions like the steamship SS Great Britain and the Concorde. The museum at Bristol Temple Meads was originally called @Bristol before being renamed The Curious in 2017.
First time using this station and oh my what a stunning building. Its Brunel’s 1840s station that has been added to and extended many times. Its a very busy station but easy to find your way around.
Andy S — Google review
It seems they are refurbishing a bit, shops are limited with the usual pasties and coffee places, no express supermarket. During busy periods coming out it's an adventure. Staff are helpful. Clean and warm lights on the outside.

Oct 22, 2025 — 20:42 BTM → PAD service, platform 10. GWR’s officially condoned version of compassion is: The train driver and platform manager standing in front of the train, watching passengers sprinting at full pelt to catch the train at the time it was due to depart (10:42). It was only ten minutes later they announced a 25 minute delay due to waiting for late train crew. The driver and platform staff knew this the entire time, but it’s clearly part of the job’s entertainment. Managers should check the CCTV for this one so they can have a giggle as well.
Brill Y — Google review
Large station in the center of Bristol with an area for a taxi rank, easy access to Bristol Airport via shuttle and about a 15 minute walk into town or you can catch the regular buses. Great location, although it has that signature 'sell food and drink at ludicrous prices' thing going on, but thankfully, there's a Wetherspoons down the road. Can be stupid busy and stupid cold, so wrap up warm and plan ahead in the winter months.
Ashley — Google review
Beautiful gem of a station maybe the oldest in the country. Well connected to the region and beyond, good range of travel shops & coffees

I'm so grateful for the waiting rooms on the platforms at Bristol Temple Meads. They are warm. There are power and usb sockets. Thank you!
Oliver L — Google review
Bristol Temple Meads Railway Station is the central station in the city, offering connections to many UK destinations like London, Cardiff, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, and Scotland. You can find accessible ticket machines near the station entrance by the ticket office. There's also a coffee shop and a convenience store at the entrance. Inside the station, you'll find toilet facilities. St. Mary Redcliffe Church is just a short walk away.
Muh F — Google review
Historic architecture treated badly. We passed through here off peak on a sunny day for a day trip so perhaps not the typical customer for this station. Trains were all on time and clean and tidy. The approach to the station building itself is impressive and the original design has not been hidden away. Flower displays and lights in keeping with the architecture brighten the approach to the main entrance. There’s a well laid out but rather small display on the left as you walk towards the station detailing a little about Brunel. It’s worth a quick read. Unfortunately, the outside front is as good as it gets. Inside, it’s easy to get around the station and there are places to buy food and travel essentials during normal shop hours. Sadly, too many of the original features in the walkways are hidden behind unsympathetic modern marble façades with gaudy plastic decorations in the centre of the walkway. Wander around to the back entrance and the neglect becomes evident. The splendid brickwork is marred by clumsy wiring, anti pigeon spikes and modern signage. Little effort has been made to accentuate the original grandeur of the place. One old shed looks like it’s a car park devoid of any atmosphere. OK to use as train station but it’s a poor example of how to treat an historic building.

Nestled above a nostalgic bowling alley in a charming redbrick building from the 1930s, Rock & Bowl Motel offers an inviting and budget-friendly hostel experience. Spanning two spacious upper floors, this vibrant accommodation features leather sofas, table football, and impressive murals that create a lively atmosphere. With 144 beds available, guests can choose from various room types to suit their preferences and budgets.
both the front desk AND the bar staff are absolutely delicious. Have a feeling they love having a bit too much fun haha! Service was so good room was safe and sound, and the beers…phenomenal. Would recommend to those travelling

I think this hostel is a little underrated, perhaps staying in low season helped. The beds are comfy, and rooms are huge, and in low season there was only 4 of us which made it more pleasant. The kitchen is fully functioning. They could do with a revamp of the common area/kitchen but then again, you get what you pay for. Staff are decent and central location. 4/5
Ryan J — Google review
A perfectly located hostel right in the city centre! The staff are friendly and do their best to assist you. Judith walked the extra mile by offering to upgrading me to a better room for just a few more quids ££ on arrival. All your required amenities are on site - washing machine, dryer, kitchen with cooking ustensiles (storage available for your food and even fridges), comfy lounge with working stations for laptops. A bit pricey maybe but then I understand they must be hammered with the cost of their utility bills. All in one a solid hostel for short or longer stays that gives you all the amenities required to live in Bristol. The staff are defo to thank for their friendliness and helpfulness. 👍🏻🙏🏻

Very bad experience staying here. Bunk beds were super tight, noisy bar downstairs. Dirty rooms no one ever came to clean. Location near the bus station was the only redeeming factor.
Vinay D — Google review
Absolutely horrendous. It was the only cheap option we found and although it is acceptably quiet on weekdays do not expect to sleep during a weekend. The bar below hosts parties with remarcably loud music plus the attendants' screams -everything you can expect from a brit party and more. We'd been noticed about tonight's this afternoon by a lady who entered our room and did not bother knocking before, while we were resting a bit. Showers & toilets lack maintainance & cleaning rounds during the day (special mention to the stinky men's restroom on the first floor, you get the smell while walking the hall). Don't come here.
Cristina G — Google review
It does what it says on the tin. There are no horror stories and it served the purpose it needed to. I had a private 8 bed dorm.
Matthew G — Google review
The DIRTIEST hostel l've ever stayed in. Millions of flies in the kitchen. Food everywhere, no clean surface, with gross microwave and dirty utensils. Chicken bones all over the floor. Rude messages from staff on the sink towards who we hope are long term stayers. Vile carpet in rooms. VERY Load music and shouting heard up in rooms, which is said in descriptions but massively underplayed. I could hear it over my headphones. The bedding was clean and beds were play so we just slept and left.
Jess S — Google review
I like this place... It has a large kitchen, common room, games, lots of private room showers, and is in a prime location. It's a decent price, especially if you do long stays... And the staff have been very helpful. It is a little rough around the edges, but that comes with the territory of being a large hostel, and the bar downstairs can be very noisy, but earplugs make it manageable (and you have easy access to lots of good live music)
