Live music venue
The Thekla is a unique nightclub and live music venue located on a converted cargo ship moored in Bristol Harbour. Originally brought to the Mud Dock area as a floating theatre and art gallery, it transitioned into a nightclub in the 90s, hosting early performances by renowned artists. Under new ownership since 2006, it has become a popular spot for live gigs and club nights, attracting indie and dance crowds alike.
What better retirement for a boat than as a music venue? During Dot To Dot, the Hold stage was great - volume and gain cranked to the max, and a crowd already hopping by 14:00. Audio was great, putting the O2 Academy to shame and bringing lots of Bristol together. Outside for the festival there was a second stage and good and drink options, giving the whole experience a great vibe.

I recently visited Thekla for the first time and was amazed by how accessible and easy it was for a disabled person to enjoy a gig there. Blue Badge parking is free just outside the door and from a comfy chair on the viewing balcony, you have a wonderful view of the stage (see photos). I was able to climb the few stairs down to the viewing balcony as my assistant carried my walker downstairs and I followed him with my walking sticks. Bit it might not be so easy for someone in a wheelchair. We did not sample the food but had drinks, and the the service at the bar was impeccable. The security staff at the door had been notified of our arrival: they were friendly and ushered us past the queue, which was useful. The Michael Monroe gig we attended was a wonderful experience and I hope there will be something else worth seeing soon, as I would love to return to Thekla.

Interesting venue for a night out. We loved the smoking area, the toilets, the bar, not so much the music in that particular day but definitely a place to come back
Clara R — Google review
I've not been to The Thekla for a very long time and it did not disappoint! As a disabled person now, I was a little anxious, but the accessibility team made my visit as great as it ever was. My name was on the door as promised and it wasn't too far to the balcony where I found a chair with my name on it. A fabulous view to boot made me feel like a queen! We didn't eat, but the service at the bar was excellent. All in all, a really fantastic night out and a huge thanks to the team for making it so easy for me. I haven't enjoyed a live music venue so much for ages and will definitely be going back! 100% recommend :)

If you’ve ever wanted to party like a pirate, but with more sequins and less scurvy, this is your spot. A nightclub on a boat. Yes. It floats. It thumps. It rocks. (Literally. Bring motion sickness tablets if you’re not into interpretive dance with the floor.) Staff: If the crew were any more detached, they'd be floating outside the boat. Orders ignored, eye contact avoided like it was contagious. Floor: oh. My. God. Sticky. So sticky. It was like walking on treacle mixed with Red Bull. At one point, I genuinely considered leaving my shoes behind and starting a new life barefoot.
Lotte M — Google review
I went here in October and was amazing, but I went last weekend and was was full of strange people, pushing around and even a fight?! Not what you expect on a night out. The music is boring and repetitive, a lot of Katy Perry songs
Oscar M — Google review
First of all, the music was great for the pop confessional. The DJ was lovely and I enjoyed the night. However, towards the end I didn’t feel safe in the club. There was hardly any security inside the club. Unfortunately, a man kept trying to touch me and corner me against the wall even when I pushed him away and said no. It was very uncomfortable and I had to leave early. There were no staff to intervene even though I was visibly upset and scared.
Sophie — Google review
I’m not local but I’ve been to two gigs here with a friend who lives in the city. Giant Drag a few years ago and Blondshell most recently. It’s a really cool and unique venue on a boat in the city. I love that they have an accessibility scheme, as lot of smaller venues do not. Sadly I’m unable to stand for long periods of time so I’m really grateful for them setting up a chair for me on the balcony for me, otherwise I’d not be able to attend. The sound is great in there, cool ambience too. It’s a bit of a maze to navigate but I guess that’s to be expected from an old ship! I look forward to my next visit!

Night club
Motion, located in Bristol, has transformed from an indoor skatepark to a renowned nightclub and event venue. With its multi-roomed layout and capacity for up to 4000 people, it has been voted as one of the best nightclubs globally. The venue hosts various events including live acts, DJ performances, festivals, and sporting events. Motion's owners consistently enhance the sound and layout of the venue, making it a popular destination for music enthusiasts worldwide.
First time visiting there for an event, and by god is it loud. It really gave me 'warehouse' vibes for raving. The unapologetic harshness of the concrete floors, steel and the overly loud system. Our night we visited for was Anjunadeep - brilliant night. The system complimented the type of music we were there for. It really does "thud" through you. I promise you, at the front of the sound stage you will be feeling that bass turn your insides upside down. There is a lovely sweet spot in the middle where the bass isn't so heavy and you can hear the dynamic range a little more. When you're there, it's a good place to be. Drinks were a little on the steep side mind you, but there was plenty of staff and I rarely had to wait. I was told by a local they are planning to demolish this place for flats and it would be a crying shame. Venues like this need to remain within public culture - they bring a well needed source of entertainment and feeling of being able to hide yourself from the problems of day to day life - even if only for a little while. Great club, great venue.
Peter C — Google review
Had some of the best nights of my life here. Great line ups, always. Those lasers were put up with lots of love and the sound system is absolutely fantastic. Big loss for the city of Bristol, things won’t be the same once Motion is gone.
Enrica C — Google review
Awesome venue with fantastic sound system! Main room is huge, and the upstairs areas offer great views and more space to dance! Smaller room is more intimate but the sound is very good. Arrived at about 11 on a sold out night and was very easy to get in, got searched but not to a crazy extent. Water station positioned in one of the bars, soap and paper in toilets, and really cool outdoor areas (especially the small one).

This weekend was the best! So sad to see it go! Whoever sold it for stupid offices or whatever they’re changing it to should get s h o t 🩷🩷🩷

Wow! Queue time for Sasha, John Digweed and Nick Warren went surprisingly quickly and smoothly. Entrance to two different rooms was well sound proofed so little if any interference. Drinks were understandably expensive, but that's club prices for you! Toilets were clean enough! Sound system was INCREDIBLE. Dance floor heaving with good natured clubbers! Think that's the older generation for you! Seeing these ABSOLUTE LEGENDS up close and personal (we made it to the front and stayed until 5:00am!) was quite emotional. A wonderful night out and a sunrise walk home! Cheers Motion! Brilliant xx
Andrew Y — Google review
I bought tickets for the 90s event on Saturday and when I turned up I discovered one of the 3 DJs I wanted to see had been dropped by Motion not the promotor. It turns out some low life made accusations on Facebook and Motion decided to cancel the DJ. It is completely disgusting behavior when everyone is entitled to a different opinion. The accusations were completely unfounded and unsupported which apparently is enough to get an artist cancelled.
Hans G — Google review
Came to Bristol to visit Motion, ended up here both Friday and Saturday! Sound was great, vibes were great. Drinks were expensive but as expected, no bar queues. Toilets on the inside were average. Outside toilets were absolutely atrocious, cisterns on the floor, no locking doors it was bad, portaloos were more palatable than those! But apart from that & the poor queuing system to get into the main room it was a great great place to come

Disco club
Lakota is a legendary underground dance club located in an old warehouse with multiple rooms spread across three levels. It has been a staple of Bristol's nightlife for nearly thirty years and is known for its association with the city's culture. The venue, adorned with street art, was once part of the Stokes Croft Brewery and an old coroner's court.
This is quite possibly the best club night I have ever been to in my entire life. Nothing beats it really. The decorations are spectacular. The staff are sound. The music and entertainment is just off the chart. Thanks guy! Keep doing what you’re doing. So much fun!
Natasha H — Google review
I've been to Lakota twice recently, two weeks apart. The first was a rave called Tribe of the Frog and it was great. The second one was a day disco called Bed by 10 and it was horrible. My advice is make sure you know exactly what kind of event you're attending at the club, because they differ a lot. Otherwise, good service, four dancefloors, good selection of drinks. The biggest minus are the long queues to the cloakroom.
Monika C — Google review
Frogged it pretty thoroughly the other night. Everyone looked really good in their UV get ups. Lakota is a great venue, the security ain't too bad. The place has character, as do many of the attendees. Weird and wonderful.
L F — Google review
Booked a ticket for Rum Punch "VIP EVENT" The venue is an absolute dump. Blocked toilets by 5pm! Dark and dingy inside. Some parts indoors cordoned off like a building site which surely can't be safe given the number of people attending the event. Witnessed some staff decantering spirits into plain bottles? Not sure what that was all about. I only booked to see Rampage however left before there set at 8pm. Absolute stinking dump. Should be closed down.

I've been putting up my UV backdrops up here for decades, I'm surprised it's still standing. The building will need a blue plaque one day 👏

The night was lovely and we lost our mate. We were so worried. Drunk people being drunk. Then Cacey came to our rescue. All of my visiting friends who can from far and wide had never seen a bouncer be so caring for our worries. She helped us find our friend, support her and make us continue having an amazing night. The world would be better with bouncers like Cacey. Wouldn't have stayed without her. Also gay. And she made me feel very safe xxxxx

PRYZM is a chain nightclub known for its high-tech sound and lighting systems, offering a regular lineup of themed dance music events. The huge Bristol venue features seven themed rooms catering to various music tastes, from chart-topping hits to electronic dance music. With state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems, the club provides an immersive experience for partygoers. Additionally, it houses five bars offering a wide range of drinks, including an extensive cocktail menu.
Great variety of music, bar staff were friendly and venue was clean. Security were helpful when we didn’t know where we would going. My step count has gone through the roof with all the steps though! 😂
Scott — Google review
Security guards refused to help someone who was laying on the floor outside their club, refused to find his friends in the club even though he wasn’t from Bristol. He was lying on the floor almost unconscious as they smirked and laughed at us asking for help. Absolutely disgraceful. This could have been someone spiked and in need of severe medical care and they completely disregarded him after throwing him out. Not a safe environment to go out in. Security guards clearly don’t care for actual safety and on a big power trip. Photos of two of the 5 guards below.
Hannah R — Google review
On Halloween night, we bought a VIP ticket, and honestly, I wish we hadn’t. They gave us the worst seats, and moved us around so many times that it became infuriating. We repeatedly asked the staff to relocate us to a better area since we’d paid for VIP, and we were always polite in our request. However, the staff kept twisting our words, implying that we were being disrespectful, which was absolutely untrue. They charge you for VIP, but there’s truly no difference in treatment or seating. What I realized was that the staff here are manipulative and take advantage of customers. I deeply regret ruining my evening by coming to this place, especially since, in the end, they actually threw us out. If you’re drinking here, be careful — a female staff member might accuse you of “speaking disrespectfully” or even claim you “touched her inappropriately,” just to get you removed. Even when I spoke with the manager, I made it clear that I was addressing them with respect, yet they still insisted I was being rude. This behavior is simply exploitative and unacceptable.👎
Maedeh A — Google review
Went along with a hen party to the dreamboys in Bristol. Apparently the bride paid for front row seats (a premium) but the dreamboys barely paid her any attention. Instead spent their time with the back of the crowd/with people they already had interactions with. Microphones didn't work very well. Couldn't hear the drag act clearly throughout the room. One "dream boy" forgot his props and just stood in the middle of the floor gesturing to the others in the room and became more and more irritated as time went on. The rest of the night he was spotted various times with his hands in his pockets, scowl across his face - seething with the world.. sorry pal. But as a performer myself I say to you.. always check your props! He even pushed a woman away when she asked for a selfie. Which in all fairness is fine, if it's the rules but there was no reason why he had to do it the way he did. He was moderately violent by all accounts. The room was big and plenty of room for hens/divorce parties and birthdays. The drag act was funny, cheap(ISH) drinks and the toilets all seemed in good order. Won't be visiting again. It was just awkward and I didn't know where to look. One of them looked like was rudely interrupted by a toaster during his end of week bath. Oh yeah. Where I was sat (next to a pillar) I found a staple sticking out as it caught my arm (I was reaching to put my drink on the floor). I couldn't get it out of the wall or push it in flat. Ruddy hurt!
Natalie M — Google review
We have been there for few times and let me start with smoking area . Few people in there selling something that is not possible with that gate in front of the entrance to go in . Their bottle of vodka or whisky, it seems like they bought alcohol from hospital and they filled their bottle . VIP services they are trying to get more then 40 groups for VIP and then they are trying to kick you out by the reason that they are making for themselves. They are not able to serve more then 5 groups for VIP . They like to make money VIP tables are avaliable in their website without mentioning where is the table and they have some seats for everyone wich is next or front of the toilet they trying to give you that table for VIP😂. If you try to defend for your right they pretending you were rude or you disrespect because they have no space for the groups who come after you to be in face with this situation. If you lose your brain you can go there and enjoy with terrible. And each time you go there you can see some blood in smoking area they can't control anything . People are fighting, they are thinking how to cheat on your booking. 😂
Sepehr N — Google review
A few weeks back me and a friend were in the smoking area, having a laugh, as you do when you’re out with friends. Until one of your doormen under the name Ryan came up to us and started getting rude with us as he suspected we were talking about him. As me and a friend tried to de-escalate the situation by walking back inside after telling him he had nothing to do with our conversation, he decided to follow us and stop us at the top of the stairs. He tried to abuse his power as ‘supervisor’ (he told us he was supervisor) and tell us he was kicking us out, although we didn’t do anything wrong. He was pointing in my friends face shouting ‘what you gonna do about it?’ And trying to provoke my friend to do something to him, which of course, they never. We then tried to leave again, but he grabbed my friend by the arm and dragged them down the stairs with absolutely no reason other than he felt like it. Once my friend had shouted for him to get off, he let go but continued to follow us outside. We walked PAST the aquarium and he was still trying to argue and follow us until we got near the city centre. He eventually backed off but kept shouting inappropriate comments at us. I believe that this was very uncalled for and it triggered my friend and sent them into a panic attack due to ptsd. This is classified as ASSAULT. If this is a supervisor at your establishment, is this correct procedure and a normal way for them to act? It has also been brought to my attention, along with many other customers that this specific doorman (ryan) is known for taking drunken girls home from out the back of Pryzm? This is according to some of your staff members and older employees who no longer work there. Is this being monitored? Has any attention been brought upon this? I believe he is 26-28 years of age and these girls have been younger. Does this not break any code of conduct and are these managers seriously allowing this to happen? I understand his shift must be over but it’s still quite strange. Other than that, I enjoy going to this club! Atmosphere is amazing. Music is 10/10 in all rooms! Bar staff are great and friendly.
LZ — Google review
Went to an Adobe event, short blonde female bar tender was rude and frankly treated people with utter contempt. Totally baffling behaviour, would never advise anyone to hold events there. Totally took the shine off an otherwise fun gathering.
Famous C — Google review
1 star for toilets ! I know people get drunk and can pee on floor, but the smell and overall condition looked like they don’t have cleaners at all. Feels like toilets are not a part of this club. Clogged toilets and broken taps. You can’t just pee in peace. No matter how drunk you are, go the toilet and you will come out sober. No issues with staff or music honestly.

Nestled beneath the Banksy on Park Street, Basement 45 is a unique nightclub with an intimate atmosphere and vaulted layout. It's a haven for underground music enthusiasts, featuring guest and resident DJs spinning beats across two dance floors. Known for its frequent drum and bass nights, as well as house and grime events, this club offers cheap entry, great tunes, and enticing drink specials.
As a promoter who hired this venue for an event, I found Basement 45 to be an excellent choice! Mark and the team were easy to deal with, efficient and always on hand. The hire fee was reasonable and good value for money. I would certainly use Basement 45 again!

We went to a club night and danced our shoes off. Amazing atmosphere, prompt and friendly service, clean toilets. We didn't eat, so I can't comment on the food. My only complaints are the low ceiling in the larger room (I'm quite tall though) and the tiny dance floor in the smaller one, but that's just the nature of the venue. We'll definitely go there again.

Celebrated my birthday in The Den. A good size room that caters for upto 60 people, with great DJ equipment, sound quality and well stocked private bar. Well decorated and seating area that was reasonably priced and good friendly service all round. Will go again!

AN OUTSTANDING CLUB IN BRISTOL! Friendly happy atmosphere with constant smiles and good vibes that will make you feel safe. Staff were very helpful and fast serving the drinks. Basement 45 has that special underground rave scene vibe that keeps you dancing all night! The sound system is out of this world with that satisfying thump of bass and beats that will slap that smile on your face! 5 star rating guys

I hired out The Den for my 30th birthday and we had such a great time, big thank you to Mark! It was the perfect size for my group (40ish people), we were able to play our own music, had a great sound system and lights, and had someone behind the bar in the room the whole time. I'd definitely recommend booking - we'll be back for sure ❤️

Love it, great venue, amazing music. Honestly awesome gig, would love to see who else plays here - saw Lila Tristram, Black Foxxes and Runner Up. Brilliant. Great music venue in the centre of Bristol. Decent sound, even right by the speakers, & good visibility from most points. Good drinks selection, including alcohol-free to cater for everybody. I also liked that there's a water tap at the side to let folks rehydrate without having to queue at the bar. Definitely a place to check out.

The decor is quirky, the venue size is adequate and the toilets are mostly functional. The sound engineering for the band I went to see was good. Mostly a decent place, however: the alcohol free beer selection was beyond crap. In a city bursting with craft breweries left, right and centre which produce various IPA's, Pale Ales and so on... The only options were just TWO massively overpriced foreign lagers. Bitburger 330ml tin, or an Asahi bottle of the same size. I was very, very disappointed with this. Water was all I had. Strange Brew, PLEASE take note.

Had such a great evening here. Went to see Daisey Moon and Roza Terenzi. Great sound. Intimate venue. Great bar staff. Roughly half venue given over to chill out and chat, with a rave cave to the rear. Will keep an eye out for other stuff going on here as I liked the venue so much.

Ok bar but very little seating available for the age group the band was likely to & did attract, this has not been the case at previous gigs attended at the same venue.

I highly recommend this place for a really good night out the staff here are both kind and accommodating especially for myself being disabled Leigh was absolutely brilliant and made sure I had a comfortable seat and didn’t have to worry all staff were polite and homely the place itself is lovely inside the lighting very warm cozy I’m sure I will be returning here again soon when a venue comes up it’s ideal for disabled people as it’s all on one level I had a great memorable night I recommend this great place to anyone. Thank you Leigh and staff for a wonderful evening your fantastic

What a great local gem. A fantastic selection of events and music acts. If you’re short, this is a great venue! The stage is raised so you nearly always have a great view and there is a raised platform for an extra boost. Also it’s much wider than it is long, so the views are generally great. Wide selection of local beers and drinks. Always a good time at Strange Brew! Feels very different depending on the event, which is quite unique to this venue

Absolutely great place loved it. Visited Friday 29th November. Isabella served us and was such a great server very knowledgeable and so fun. There where 2 new starters whose names i didnt catch but were great just as great especially considering it was there first night working. Was very reasonably priced and was great fun

Had a fantastic night out here. The atmosphere was electric, the music was on point, and the crowd was full of energy. It was the perfect place to let loose and have a great time with friends. The drinks were flowing, the dance floor was packed, and everyone was having a blast. If you're looking for a fun and lively night out in Bristol, I highly recommend

Lost phone on Wednesday and was appalled by the experience on trying retrieve it. Not only having the location of my iPhone at lizard lounge the staff especially the manager was uncooperative, and reluctant to help. He stated he had looked in the office as they “do not have lost property”, only after an hour of pestering the staff they went down to look in the office and found it immediately. The manager was unhelpful, rude, and obstinate. Will not be returning!!

Lizard lounge is without a doubt my favourite club in Bristol. My mum used to go here when she was at uni, and following her rave reviews I just had to try it! I am there every week for the great music and atmosphere. I especially love it when room 2 opens, the vibes are always immaculate. There are always really great drinks deals available, and it’s hard to think of a night where I didn’t buy at least 2 VKs. Lizard lounge often invite special guests, and last week I had the pleasure of meeting my idol Cal the Dragon. That was probably my highlight of uni so far! I can’t wait for the many more fun nights this year in my favourite club that are still to come…

It's always such a pleasure to come to lounge, their time out Wednesday sports night is often the highlight of my week and I can't think of a better environment in which to boogie late into the night. Staff here are always really friendly and the music is always on point, especially when they open room 2! I'm a big fan of the photographer who goes round capturing some of our best moments here, thanks to them those memories can last a lifetime. A given in lounge is the infamous VK, one of my favourite nights here was the recent VK party during which VKs were just £1 (!!) and I managed to win some awesome free merch, that I now frequently wear with pride. If you haven't already, I cannot recommend visiting this club enough for anyone looking for a fun night in Bristol. I personally cannot wait for many more nights to come!

Great club with a brilliant atmosphere. The DJ was on their A GAME and the dancefloor was packed. Would be great for larger groups or special nights out as their VIP are is chilled and away from the crowds. Would definitely recommend paying these guys a visit id you're in Bristol 🍾

The bouncers were looking for any excuse to throw us out from the moment we arrived which made for an unpleasant experience. Yes, we were a large, loud group, but we weren’t causing any trouble and didn’t have these issues anywhere else in Bristol. Other than that, club is fine - it’s a typical, basic club with one main room and dance floor. Didn’t like the feel of the place. They were good in advance of the night allowing us to pre-book entry. The place would do a job in the right circumstances but we had a poor experience.

Easily one of my favourite clubs in Bristol, there’s a safe environment with great music and reasonable prices on drinks. As a social secretary for my society I can say that the staff are very honest and upfront about deals and overall a great place to host socials. If going casually or with a society, a good night is guaranteed with lots of memories to be made! 🦎🦎💚💚

It shares a courtyard with the Full Moon pub and a backpackers hostel, creating a festival-like atmosphere with outdoor bars and picnic tables. Love it here! Went for a couple of pints with my partner, there is constant live mixing and the vibe is on point. Even though we didn’t have any food it smelt and looked delicious! They offer a student discount as long as you have a valid ID and follow their insta. Great decorations of rockstars around the place like Jimi Hendrix and just very colourful and welcoming! Can’t recommend enough:)

Nice pub with good vibe and excellent outdoor area. Staff are friendly. Decor could do with some updating, and the bathrooms are not the best. You can have a very fun night here, if you don't mind places a bit rough and ready.

Great space for beers and your buds 😉 always do fantastic club nights. Great selection of beers and spirits as well as softies. Bristol Lola Lo is a tiki-styled nightclub located in the student-heavy area of Clifton. It's known for its vibrant tropical decor, eclectic DJ sets, and lively atmosphere. The club offers a range of cocktails with exotic flavors and spices, creating a fun and festive experience for partygoers. With themed nights like 'shit shirt' parties, Lola Lo provides an original and entertaining social scene that appeals to university students.
We hosted our private work event at Lola Lo, they were incredibly helpful in answering all our queries and questions. George, the events manager was extremely helpful, along with Alex and all the bar staff on the night. Everyone was friendly, service was fast, the music was great and the karaoke was a great end to the evening.

My friends and I were looking forward to a night out and we were treated horribly by the bouncers. It seems their masculinity was deeply threatened by one of my friends who asked them to stop speaking so rudely to another friend. They have absolutely no respect for young women and their actions caused the club to lose 12 customers tonight.
Sasha — Google review
We attended a bottomless brunch here, and it was one of the most depressing events I’ve ever been to. At £50 a head for the (dis)pleasure. The staff were brilliant, but hugely under equipped for the numbers they were presented with. The singer struggled to create any atmosphere at all with her song choices. I’ve never attended a bottomless brunch where, when we left an hour early, everyone was sat down. The complaints at the bar were innumerable, which made me feel very sorry for the staff who really were doing their best. The food was AWFUL. Chips came 20 mins before the main dish, the food was served wrapped in foil like it came from a van in a car park and was disgusting. I’ve attached a pic but to create a full picture, it was also freezing cold. Awful. Just awful. The only thing worse than the food were the toilets. They could rival the portaloos at Glastonbury. On day 4. With more rotten wood.
Christina A — Google review
I’m sure the club is fine (never seems very busy at all) but the bouncers were so rude !! Me and a friend tried to get in and I accidentally hit a bouncer with my umbrella, for which I profusely apologised. The bouncer was so rude to me and my friend (who tried to defended me) and I am very disappointed with this treatment towards young women! Clearly the male bouncers felt threatened in some way but it is absolutely outrageous they couldn’t set their pride away to realise it was an honest mistake and treat the situation with an appropriate reaction. Will NEVER be coming back! Bristol needs more bouncers that care about young women who are vulnerable on a night out !!!

I hired the club for a private party, after visiting and falling in love with the place. The attention and care I received from the management in making sure all our requirements and needs were met was outstanding. On the night, the door staff were the most respectful, polite friendly staff anyone could ask for- they even went along with the theme of the party! The bar staff worked so incredibly hard, my guests all received excellent service. The DJ interpreted the room and played accordingly to ensure the dance floor stayed packed. The management team were exceptional. They stayed all night to ensure we had the best service and kept coming to check in with me to make sure everyone was happy. The whole experience was fantastic. My guests had the best night, it was an absolutely wonderful time all thanks to the combined hard work of all the staff. Would highly recommend for private hire. Absolutely superb.

A girls trip to Bristol from London! We paid £500 package which was more than enough! This included a VIP TABLE, with cute decor, party poppers 1 bottle of Belvedere Vodka 1 bottle of Pink Gin X4 cocktail sharers X4 bottles or Prosecco GREAT value for money! Atmosphere - was buzzing in the main room but VIP room we were the only group with a table Music - R&B music - DJ was epic! Played the best songs! After 1am it was turning to house, this point I think it’s safe to say we don’t remember much! Vibe - Group of 12 girls for a Hen do Service - the staff were super nice, they kept checking in on us if we needed a top up on mixers 2 minute walk is Triangle Grill if you’re feeling cheesy chips! Parking - no idea about parking but I’d recommend not to drink and drive! I would say the toilets are dirty and grim! That’s the only downside. But the music overall makes it worth it!

Their pizza offerings are particularly noteworthy, featuring unique combinations like the brie and olive pizza or the Hot and Smelly pizza, both crafted with local ingredients for an unforgettable taste experience.
Made very welcome by all the staff. Very enjoyable couple of halves in there on my pub crawl of the general area. Only disappointed I couldn't spend longer ! There's a small to medium size theatre out back, an upstairs with inside seating and a small roof garden and the venue is LGBTQ+ friendly. Definite recommendation from me 👍💗

Carol B — Google review
We recently went to OMA for a roast dinner to celebrate bday. The staff was super friendly with great vibes. The food arrived quickly and overall score for food around the table was 4 our of 7. We had a Sunday Roast and everyone knows that roast potatoes are one of the most important things in in the roast. Unfortunately those were not the best, they were not crispy and they tasted like they were cooked the day before or at least couple of hours earlier and left in the water. Pork belly was also in the menu described that it will have crispy skin, but that was not a case. The portion was good to the price tho.
Weronika M — Google review
Really cool venue and the staff were lovely but pizzas weren’t as I’d prefer (thin and crispier than I like my sourdough) and thought the child’s pasta was very poor in terms of cost/size/value. £7.50 for a pretty tiny portion of what appears to be penne and shop bought tomato sauce. I will give kudos for being given cheese when I asked it for it at no extra cost though. There are independent venues in Bristol with better kids meals for sure. It’s just a huge shame as after visiting the wardrobe theatre this is the ideal place to stop. Would happily come back for a drink though (great roof terrace) and to try small plates.

We enjoyed a delicious Christmas menu roast here in December, the beef brisket in particular was amazing. The Loco Klub, located in the former ashpits of a railway station in Bristol, is a unique space that offers more than just a club experience. It features an exceptional beer garden which serves as the ideal spot to enjoy drinks in the sun before events or while waiting for a train at the nearby Bristol Temple Meads station. The on-site pub and its beer garden host various events and provide a lovely atmosphere for visitors.
This was the venue I went to see my Daughter's uni play Mephisto, the amount of rooms in the club meant that you walked to each scene. I think the atmosphere within, played very well with the themes within the play. If I was younger I'd like to see how it works as a nightclub.

This venue is very very cool! Gigs are always incredible and sound amazing due to the acoustics. Been to a few events here that have been great, the only downside being that service at the bar is incredibly slow. The bouncers for events haven't been very nice either.

Amazing place with great music selection, it’s just next to Temple Meads station. The entrance was £15, but because of the music, vibe and the experience worth the money. There are 3 tunnels which gives the unique vibe to this place and I loved the combination of the darkness with all the colourful lights. The first tunnel is the main bar with good choice of drinks, the only problem there was big queue for getting drinks. Really enjoyed the music and atmosphere, would definitely come back again for different event.

An interesting and unique venue for a variety of different events. Set in a cave like area beneath an old building, there was plenty of atmosphere and a variety of rooms in which different events or activities can be hosted. Lovely atmosphere at Loco Klub which I attended as a member of a Christmas party! The dancers/performers were all in character in stylish costumes and everyone was smiling as we arrived. The performances were a pleasure to watch. The evening was let down by the food which was... quite bad. Weird flavours paired with stale bread and unappetising sauces. Even the pudding was awful so many of us left hungry. Venue and cast highly recommended but they really need to rethink their food.

The Full Moon Pub & Hostel is a budget-friendly accommodation located in Bristol, right next to the bear pit at the bottom of Stoke's Croft. The retro-styled rooms come with free WiFi and are situated above a sports bar that also serves as a live music venue. The hostel is popular among students and locals for its relaxed atmosphere, good prices, and spacious outdoor area which is especially enjoyable when the sun is out.
This is the best hostel I have ever stayed at. I was only going to stay here for a night on a trip from New Zealand but ended up staying for about 10 nights due to extenuating circumstances and I am so happy I chose this place. A friend recommended it to me ❤️ I felt so safe here, the staff were so so kind and helpful and I genuinely felt like I was at home which was a lovely feeling while being so far from home. The facilities are awesome, the kitchen is so well equipped and I loved the lounge and dining area which was overlooking the bar and street. I honestly miss it hehe, thank you so much Full Moon ! 🩷

I can't imagine visiting Bristol again and not staying here! The hostel is large, the rooms are beautiful, clean, and well-equipped. Everything you need is in one place. Want to make dinner? There's a huge kitchen (with free coffee!). Want to chill out? There's a common room with a TV, games, and books! Want to dance? There's a beer garden and two bars downstairs with different styles of music! The staff was also super helpful. I had huge boxes of music equipment with me (I'm a street musician). They helped me organize and store them. I 200% recommend this place!
Koker B — Google review
An easy to get to hostel, it’s right by the bus exchange station. Rooms are spacious enough and staff are very friendly. I wouldn’t say it’s a very clean hostel, the bathrooms weren’t great and were sometimes out of soap and hand towels. The common area and kitchen was great and big. The pub outside is really good and super social. It’s open till late so if you’re an early sleeper, not the best for you. Overall, a fine hostel and they let you keep your bags there for free after checkout.
Francesca W — Google review
I'm not someone who usually gives reviews but the situation makes it necessary. Indeed, when you find yourself in a room that costs £70 a night and you can't sleep before 2am, it's a bit limiting. It's true that it's specified on the site that there are evenings until 2am at weekends, which is perfectly normal and acceptable. You know in advance what you're signing up for and it's always a pleasure to see people enjoying themselves. I'm often one of them. No problem with that. However, 80 decibels in room M above the bar are a little less pleasant. The people and the music outside aren't a problem, it is often of high quality and can lull you to sleep. But the bass in the bar are clearly problematic. Earplugs won't help : you can feel it in the floor, the mattress and your body. You might as well go and sleep in the middle of the motorway or on an airport runway, the night will be quieter. I'm not even sure that this is legal in the sense that if a fire alarm sounds in an adjacent room or the corridor, it's not even certain that it would be audible with that noise. My opinion certainly won't change anything about the policy of the place, which is more a place to party than a hostel. Travellers serve as a useful additional source of income, but their comfort is clearly not highlighted and relegated to last place. In short, know what to expect. Book on the top floor if possible. Avoid room M above the DJ. Or come with the aim of partying until 2am or more. To the owner: soundproof? Seal off the M room? Install double glazing? Lower your prices for the most hardcore rooms? Only things that require a bit of investment, which doesn't seem to be your goal, which seems to be more immediate profitability. While the comfort and safety of your residents, as a hostel, should be paramount.
Glandalf L — Google review
Loved the venue. I arrived to amazing a house music event in the court yard. I appreciated the proper bed, larger bedrooms than most hostels and the staff were the happiest and most welcoming I’ve ever experienced. I’ll definitely recommend and be back! Love your unique vibe 🥰 Great location with loads of cool street art around.
Sam B — Google review
If you want to party then this place is perfect. If you want to sleep between Thursday and Sunday forget it. The vibe was nice, staff were lovely, the place seemed clean but the noise is impossible to ignore. My only other issue is the bunk beds have no ladders. No you need to be pretty agile to get to your top bunk if you're unlucky enough to get one. Had to check out on day of arrival.
Lindsay B — Google review
Great staff, it is very loud and the music doesn’t stop until 2am. They did offer us earplugs but if you’re a light sleeper I’d avoid. On the other side, if you’re looking for a party it’s definitely the place to be.
Danny D — Google review
I stayed here for a few days when moving homes. It's extremely cosy, lively and has retained the old world travellers hostel atmos. Attached to a pub, located in Stokes Craft the party district of Bristol, things can get pretty wild in a good way. The walls and woodwork is imbibed with art that Bristol City is famous for, the communal places are cared for and there is always a game going on for you to join in. I had a comfortable stay here; the staff were very helpful and chill. The hostel is across the street from Bristol Bus and Coach station and is well connected. All usual facilies are available here. Not recommended for the early to bed types.

The Croft is back! Came here for opening weekend, great to see what the new team have done with the place. Not just a hub for live music and clubs, but also a great place for a pint now too. Can’t go wrong with their £3 pints during happy hour!

The Crofter's Rights is a legendary pub in Bristol, hosting a ton of gigs which I've had the pleasure of attending. The pub is very rustic, with limited seating and no outdoor section. Better use of the rooms could definitely be made. The show area is the highlight, giving great ambience to the bands and providing an acoustically sound environment. The all-black interior makes for unlimited possibilities with lights and immersion.
Sam P — Google review
Music venue with two rooms for gigs and serving craft beer and pizza. Beer is fine, I didn't try the food. There are just not enough seats in the pub and no cloak room so we had to keep our coats on for the entire concert. Also the toilets are down a tiny twisted staircase which is one way only so you need to wait for people to come up before going down, the men's toilet has no door so when you queue for the female loo you'll have guys standing peeing and wafts of urine. Not great

Cool little space with a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately severely let down by unnecessarily rude and aggressive door staff. Thought I'd pop in for old times sake but was given a very hostile welcome from the door staff. I was on a date, we are both in our 40s but were given so much attitude that I really didnt feel like going inside, because if this is the vibe then why are we paying £10 on the door to hang out in one cellar after being made to feel like idiots? Cosies can have a nice atmosphere but after this interaction with the door staff I don't think I will bother taking any other friends there. It was such a shame because once inside despite it being very quiet the music was great.

Absolutely love cosies, such a great lil venue... the manager is an absolute legend wouldn't be the same venue without her running the place and the events have a great range, I've been coming here for years. Security are sound and fair, the other bar staff are also lovely.

It's all in the name, a very comfortable venue to dance all night or chill with a few drinks. Hadn't been there in ages and they've now extended their seating capacity on the pavement just opposite the club to accommodate few more tables. Brilliant memories from this place and always good vibes!

Night club
Popworld - Bristol is a vibrant bar-club nestled in the bustling heart of the city, where nostalgia meets nightlife. With its lively atmosphere and a dazzling glitter ball spinning above the dance floor, this venue specializes in 80s, 90s, and 00s party anthems that will transport you back to those unforgettable decades. Open late into the night, Popworld hosts an array of exciting events that promise to make your evening memorable.
Popworld Bristol went the extra mile to ensure my friends party was as extravagant as ever! Who would have known that our group would travel across the world for my friends' party in Popworld Bristol! The hospitality and professionalism from Dan and Hannah was spot on- communicating clearly and efficiently with the logistics for my party prior to the date. They arranged a phenomenal night, situating us in a special reserved area full of wonderful surprises- glow sticks, Hawaiian leis, confetti, and more! We were offered a variety of drinks package galore! The music, atmosphere, drinks, and staff made Popworld Bristol a night to remember- for sure!!! The staff were friendly and helpful, ensuring the drinks were as efficient and excellent as possible- Thank You! We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and would love to visit again in the near future. A massive THANK YOU to Dan, Hannah, and the wonderful team working on the 16th July 2022. You are all absolute stars! Sending lots of hugs, thanks, and warm wishes!!! Best Wishes, Dom x

I stepped out for a moment from the best pub in Bristol to check out this place, just because the name caught my eye—I figured the music might be decent. Unfortunately, I can't write a proper review because I didn’t even make it past the door. Turns out, they only let in groups of two or more. So, if you're in Bristol for work or just feel like going out solo, don’t waste your time trying to get in here. You're not welcome—unless, apparently, you come with an entourage.

This was a great nightclub to visit on Saturday, with purple lighting all over the venue! Drinsk counter has multiple colours and strobe lights appear on the dancefloor, there is a disco spot elevated too which was a blast to go on with people. Everyone was friendly and brilliant atmosphere, enjoyed a Desperado's although entry fee is quite expensive for Pop at £10.

Had a weekend in Bristol for a 50th pre booked a booth and a bottle of spirits with free refill on mixers looked after by Dan whome made the night more memorable with great service an all round excellent experience well worth a visit when in Bristol

No stamp system so if you step out, even for a second, you have to repay entry. I got pushed on the dance floor and my mate turned around to tell them off but the bouncers threw us out instead. Staff tipped out my two drinks I just paid for aswell.

£8 to get in on a Saturday and no reentry, which is a joke. Bouncers were cool but guy on the till was pretty rude. Not worth it

Make sure you hold on to your drink!!!! If not any member of staff including the managers will take it away and expect you to buy another!!! The place is a joke after paying to get in!!! Don’t waste your time and money!!!

We had an amazing experience on Saturday night big thank you for Ashleigh for sorting out our VIP experience for my Hen Party, the extras that came with the cocktails were a great touch too. Even our mothers enjoyed themselves. Music was exactly what we wanted. Lots of bar security which made us feel incredibly safe. They were very quick to extinguish anything that shouldn’t be happening.

I moved to Bristol 12 years ago and honestly Queenshilling is the best and safest venue in Bristol... 🤩 On the weekends it's perfect to come over for parties, dancing, making good friends or even hookup with someone you like... 😏 My favourite days are Mondays, because they do karaokes !🎤 ♥ Perfect nights for socialising and singing your favourite songs... 🥰 How cool is that! 😊 Honestly 100 % I recommend to check out Queenshilling! 🥰

Nice atmosphere for a Saturday, and it was quite busy. Most of the staff were professional and helpful. However, the drinks tasted off almost watered down and the beer tasted like soup. If you visit OMG, even though it's overpriced, the same drinks taste much stronger.

I had a very disappointing experience at this pub yesterday and won’t be returning. My friends and I were removed by security without any clear explanation, which felt entirely unjustified. To make matters worse, the security staff showed no empathy and zero willingness to listen or engage in any kind of dialogue. One female security staff member with short hair, in particular, came across as especially biased towards male customers.
Jonas — Google review
After being a regular customer for over 6 years...not anymore. After getting threatening messages from a member of staff over a joke made while drunk to another customer who was drunk. Also other customer threatened to smash my head in the staff member overheard and just ignored it. If it was anyone else he would of being kicked out but it was this staff members family member. Try the new OMG bar the refurb is great and the staff are amazing. Update - been told that if I ever want to come back here I need to email the owner apologise and beg to be allowed back in. So a customer was threatened by a member of staff and you expect that customer to apologise and beg to enter your venue. Avoid at all cost

On the night of March 2nd, likely just past midnight, we (three of us) visited QS. After while, as we wanted to go out for a smoke, I accidentally opened the fire exit door, not realizing it was restricted which is my fault. I immediately acknowledged my mistake and sincerely apologized. A female security staff member—short-haired and lean—responded with a warning, stating that if the door was opened again, we would not be allowed back in. While I accept responsibility for my action, I was taken aback by the unnecessarily harsh and rude manner in which the warning was delivered. In response, my partner calmly asked if this was our final warning. She nodded and shut the door without further conversation. After finishing our break, we returned to the front entrance, only to be met by the entire security team, who abruptly informed us that we were no longer allowed to re-enter the premises. I again offered a sincere apology, but instead of being acknowledged or heard, we were publicly shouted at and told to leave in front of a crowd. The situation was both humiliating and deeply upsetting. We then approached the manager, hoping for a fair resolution, but unfortunately, he was unable to assist us. We had also purchased tickets for OMG and attempted to enter there, only to be told that we were causing trouble—again, in front of others. The entire experience was incredibly disheartening and made us feel unfairly treated and unwelcome. As loyal and respectful customers who visit both QC and OMG occasionally, this experience has left us questioning whether we can continue supporting either venue. We are not only disappointed but also feel compelled to reconsider recommending these places to friends in the future.
Chamara H — Google review
One of the worst and most unsafe nights I’ve ever experienced. My friend was subjected to blatant homophobic abuse by an older man who quickly turned aggressive on the dance floor. Everyone around could see what was happening, yet there was zero security presence to intervene. For several minutes I was forced to shove the man back just to stop him from physically assaulting my friend. When security eventually turned up, they did remove the man, but shockingly, they then came back and removed me as if I was the problem. Punishing someone for protecting their friend from a homophobic attack is outrageous and shows both incompetence and negligence. Security completely failed in their duty, and instead of creating a safe environment, they made it hostile for the very people this bar claims to represent.
Olivia — Google review
I felt overwhelmed, helpless, and ashamed. It’s not a safe place for chilling.just a normal club.Their actions showed zero humanity, as if compassion and empathy were completely foreign to them.its all about the security they’ve hired.

I love Queenshilling - it's so friendly, welcoming, and a good size (big enough to have plenty of seating and dancing room, whilst not being overwhelmingly big). I have been coming to the karaoke nights here for around 8 years (on and off!) which are super fun. The only reason I give 4 stars rather than 5, is I and my friends wish that Just Jed took karaoke requests; at the moment we are limited to the predetermined song list. If he started taking requests, we would visit much more often!

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Bristol's theater district, Smoke & Mirrors is a captivating pub that seamlessly blends the allure of magic with a lively atmosphere. This intimate venue features its very own 'Magic Theatre,' where you can catch live performances from talented magicians on weekends. If you're looking for an unforgettable night out, this spot offers a delightful two-hour comedy magic show that promises to keep you and your partner entertained with laughter and awe.
First time in Bristol, first time at Smoke & Mirrors! and what a show! Absolutely worth the trip. Without a doubt the best magic show I’ve seen in the UK. The atmosphere was electric, the venue intimate and fun, and the performers were top-tier. The highlight of the night was definitely Jaie, mind-blowing performance! I still can’t figure out how he did what he did. Truly unforgettable. If you’re anywhere near Bristol, don’t miss this show.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you’re looking for a night of pure wizardry and giggles in Bristol, this is THE place! Mark and Richard aren’t just magicians – they’re part-time comedians, full-time mind-blowers. Honestly, I’m still trying to figure out how Mark made my jaw disappear for half the night (spoiler: it was from laughing too much). Mark was the perfect entertainer- warm, welcoming, and hilariously cheeky, making just the right amount of fun of everyone (don’t worry, it’s all in good spirits… unless he actually is a wizard, in which case, RIP my dignity). The show was super interactive, so no chance of dozing off – unless you were hypnotized, which I’m still not ruling out. The magic itself? Brilliant. Real “how-did-they-do-that?!” moments that left us all questioning reality and Googling “how to become a magician” on the way home. If you want a quirky, laugh-out-loud night out in Bristol that’s totally different from the usual pub crawl, go see these guys. Just don’t ask them to pull a rabbit out of a hat – they’re too busy pulling smiles out of thin air! 🪄✨

An outstanding level of service from the staff! Amazing and well priced food and drinks, and a lovely building with stunning ceilings/architecture. We had booked the place for its gorgeous interior and location for a bachelorette celebration. We had a great experience, service was amazing and waitresses/waiters are all very warm and welcoming. Food was all good and cocktails very well made and tasty. Good atmosphere. A couple downsides but one of them is that the main meal was served around 45-1hpur from when it was ordered, we were not too bothered about this as we were happy to have a chat etc but it’s something worth noting. The Cosy Club strikes that perfect balance between upmarket dining and genuine value that’s surprisingly rare these days. I’ve been coming here regularly for breakfast, and it’s become my favourite spot for a proper weekend treat. The English breakfast here is absolutely superb – everything you’d expect from a quality establishment. The ingredients are clearly top-notch: proper sausages with actual meat content, thick-cut bacon cooked to perfection, free-range eggs, proper mushrooms, and quality toast. It’s presented beautifully without being pretentious, and the portions are generous without being excessive. What impresses me most is that despite the upmarket atmosphere and quality ingredients, the pricing is remarkably reasonable. You’re getting restaurant-quality food at prices that won’t break the bank. The staff are genuinely exceptional – attentive without being overbearing, knowledgeable about the menu, and always friendly and professional. They make you feel welcome whether you’re dressed casually or smartly, which creates a relaxed yet refined atmosphere. Service is prompt, they’re excellent at accommodating dietary requirements, and they clearly take pride in their work. The venue itself is beautifully decorated – comfortable seating, lovely interior design, and a sophisticated ambience that makes breakfast feel like a proper occasion rather than just refuelling. It’s equally suitable for catching up with friends, a relaxed business meeting, or simply treating yourself. If you want a breakfast experience that feels special without the eye-watering prices of boutique establishments, The Cosy Club delivers every

A great spot for a pre show dinner. Suitably decorated with a strong theme and sense of character. Food was a little slow arriving and table service also just slightly slower than ideal, but very polite. Allow plenty of time if you want multiple courses. We found the bottle of red wine overly warm too, but we did visit during the summmer months.

Super spot in poss the best part of Bristol. Room was characterfully British with amazing internal architecture. Staff was polite, prompt and very efficient. My Dirty Bap was a delight, well balanced flavours and care taken with ingredient cooking and presentation. Only slight quibble was the Mary could have been given more care and depth. Overall though a super spot and highly recommended.

The food was well-prepared and nicely balanced in flavor. The scrambled eggs were soft and creamy, the halloumi added a savory touch with a pleasant chew, and the spinach and mushrooms brought freshness to the plate. The hashbrown was crispy on the outside and fluffy inside, while the avocado on sourdough toast tied everything together with a rich and creamy finish. Portion size was just right, and the presentation made the meal feel inviting. Overall, a satisfying and enjoyable English breakfast experience.

Visited here on a Saturday for bottomless brunch with a group of friends, it’s a good location with a chilled vibe and seating inside and out, the balcony provides a good view in the sun. The service was the worst I’ve ever experienced in my life and I’m not joking. Drinks were left empty and we placed multiple orders with different staff that never arrived. On our food order allergies weren’t checked and when it was discussed staff were confused and obviously weren’t sure on what was allowed or not. Tables needed a wipe down and the toilets were like a swamp of urine. Food was good and everyone enjoyed it. Would I go back no I wouldn’t and I wouldn’t recommend the bottomless brunch as it clearly wasn’t bottomless. One member of staff was good, who acknowledged our drinks hadn’t been replenished for over half an hour.

It was an interesting experience, good music good ambiance, the bartender fabulous but it was marred by a group of about 7 old white men, all looked early 50’s…..these men were discussing in ear shot how I managed to arrive in the country and how I could afford to even be there quite rudely…..the icing on the cake was one of white old men justifying his behaviour by saying that the BBC is racist…isn’t that their national media corporation?? …Anyways, I had two amazing cocktails, enjoyed the view, danced a little and left. I will go there again for the service was great (will share an update), hopefully the table next to mine would be better human beings.

Really loved the food here and the busy atmosphere showed lots of others do too. I am not vegetarian but this restaurant made me question why. Good food in all senses of the word. Great to be able to see the team working in the kitchen too and liked the lively decor. A particular favourite was crispy smashed potatoes with aji aji aioli and pickles. July 24 - why have we left it so long!? Again, super friendly helpful staff. Everything we ordered was delicious. Menu changes regularly, and staff can advise. Our favourite, smashed potatoes were slightly different but loved this variation. Sharing board was great. Heritage tomatoes, great. 2 different burgers, both great. Highly recommend the mushroom one (NOT a portobello mushroom) Everything was great! June 23 - Great attentive staff. Quite busy even at 5pm. But food arrived quickly, and every dish (6) was absolutely delicious. At this point, I would normally tell you about the vegetarian choices, but everything is either vegetarian or vegan. Spoilt for choice. Definitely going back.

I really, really wanted to give this place five stars, but I just can't. We got a really friendly and welcoming greeting, the decor is just amazing, and combined with the music and drinks selection, it has a great speakeasy vibe that's like stepping back in time. When we visited during a quiet afternoon we thoroughly enjoyed our cocktails and chatting to the bartender. However, when we returned on a busy Friday night, it was a bit of a different experience. The two guys working werr clearly doing their best but really need another member of staff to serve customers. After finishing our drinks we were left waiting 45 minutes before we could order another one - and customers who had arrived looked to be waiting a similar amount of time to receive their drinks. This is just far too long and led to understandable frustration. It's a shame, as the staff are lovely and the cocktails are sublime - some really imaginative and special combinations that we thoroughly enjoyed! It's just let down a bit by the exceedingly slow service when busy. I think we'd go back, but perhaps not on a weekend night.

Incredible hidden gem in Bristol! We visited this cocktail bar for the first time a few weeks ago for my boyfriends birthday. On arrival we were greeted and our coats taken and hung up. We had a cute table in the corner, and it was full but not busy. We were served by the manager Rachel who was lovely and really knew her stuff. We didn’t know what to order at times so Rachel asked about flavours and alcohol we liked and then made suggestions, she got us the perfect drink every time. The cocktails were some of the best cocktails I have ever had (and I have had a lot)! The bar was owned by a husband and wife, who chatted with us and told us how they experiment and create the menus. There’s not one fault I can make about this place and I can’t wait to return. They even gave my boyfriend a birthday drink on the house which was a sweet touch. Price wise it is great value for money! 10/10!!!

Amazing interior and great decorations. We try a few cocktails and I can say that is maybe the best so far that I’ve ever had. The staff was extremely nice and helpful with the menu. The olives with sea salt 🤤 👌🏻 *if you order some special cocktail- you get a quick show with the special music. Bravo!

Live music venue
The Old Duke is a historic pub located on King Street in Bristol, dating back to the 1780s. It offers live jazz performances every night, featuring traditional New Orleans-inspired jazz music as well as blues and modern jazz bands. The pub is named after 'Duke' Ellington, a pivotal figure in jazz history. Its buzzing atmosphere and cobbled street location make it a popular spot for both locals and tourists looking to immerse themselves in the vibrant music scene of Bristol.
A must visit in Bristol! The 3 nights I was in Bristol I went every evening. I participated in the open mic night, listened to other performances, the bottom line is I enjoyed it tremendously. The music was great, inspiring and authentic. The people behind the bar are kind, attentive and helping. I fell in love. In love with the place, the atmosphere and a beautiful woman. Bristol hasn’t seen the last of me.

Great traditional pub. Friendly lively atmosphere. Music every night of the week. Great service from friendly staff. If you like music. This is the place to go

Absolutely loved this old school, authentic pub. Great buzz and even better that it has live music - we came 3 times during our trip to Bristol.

A pub that is famous all over the world for live Jazz. No visit to Bristol is complete without listening to Jazz here. Seating outside when busy inside. Perfect for a summer day. A Bristol institution.

Really enjoyed the venue and music here, a nice find on a Monday night. Can't comment on food as was drinking only.

A Bristol institution that lives up to the hype. This long established Jazz Pub on King Street, a stone's throw from the Bristol Old Vic is very much as it always has been. Great for live jazz on the weekend and a fabulous place for a drink on a sunny day! A very mixed clientèle and can be noisy inside, well with a live band that's only to be expected, and lots of basic pub benches outside.

There's always a fantastic atmosphere here that's why we keep returning when we're in Bristol. Some fantastic musicians around can be seen each night.

SWX is a popular nightclub in Bristol known for its big-name DJs, live performers, and high-energy dance nights. The club offers two floors with different music styles, including a floor dedicated to Hip Hop and RnB music. SWX hosts a diverse range of live performances featuring world-famous artists from various genres. The venue is renowned for its high-quality production, massive light shows, and thrilling pyrotechnics that bring DJ sets to life.
Brilliant venue for Dinosaur Pile Up. The acoustics were perfect, loud and clear and no distortion. Security staff were very polite and efficient, and everything ran smoothly. It’s a shame the upper balcony wasn’t open, but the view from half-way back on the ground floor was still great.

One of the larger live venues in Bristol. Capacity is around 1200 for a gig. Sound quality was excellent for the gig I went to. Can be a little packed on the main floor sitting headliner performances. If you have access needs, let the venue know ahead of time as there's a space set aside. Will definitely be visiting again

I went to watch Eivor live, all the security very friendly, making sure everyone follows the rules, not taking any liquids inside, including me, I was offered the opportunity to retrieve the drinks in the end, and there they were. Inside, two great and big bars, very close to audience. Great space, big and clean toilets. Congratulations to who manages the venue and the team, are doing a great work. Definitely will return with no doubt. Very excellent impression indeed. Thank you

This club has vibes. You walk in and think, “Yes, this is where I’ll lose three hours and possibly a shoe.” The music? Banging. Well we went for the Idles Block Party so of course it was. The lights? Flashy enough to make you spin. Cleanliness... meh.

Really good music venue. We've been 3 times for Futureheads, Dinosaur Pile-up and Crane Wives. Each time we've been assisted with Accessibility perfectly. Security are very helpful and we've found bar staff to be friendly too. The acoustics are great and each band has sounded fantastic. Looking forward to seeing more bands here soon.

It was well organised, good location, great show. The only thing I'd say wasn't good is that my daughter and I got fed up with people around us vaping the entire show.

Came to see a gig with my friend last night. The staff were absolutely fantastic, kind and so helpful. My friend is autistic and we asked if it was possible to get into the Accessible Area. Great fun here we booked the karaoke room for a friends going away party and was brilliant! Private room with good sound, ordered food delivered to the room, reasonably priced drinks all around great experience. Thanks
Luke F — Google review
50 minutes into our 1 hour session a short bald security guard started stacking our pints and demanded we leave. He became aggressive after we questioned this. The bar manager was very well mannered and managed the situation well. The security pushed one of our party and then a girl not associated with us into our crowd. At that point one of us pushed him back as he seemed as an aggressive male bullying a girl. The manager then asked us to leave after promising free drinks die to the misunderstanding due to the fact we had an altercation with the security. We totally understood this and left accordingly but are hugely dissaponted how their hot headed security handled this situation. Won't be back and ringing in the morning to complain
Gavin B — Google review
A unique bowling alley, though slightly shorter than usual, much like their security guard. An old balding man who could’ve doubled as a great bowling ball, and honestly, if I’d rolled him down the lane, my score might have been better. Very rude and disorganised, even pushing women around us (which is completely unacceptable), and snapping at the very reasonable manager in the red top. Nice place overall, but I wouldn’t return based on the so-called “security”… or someone’s dad who seems to have been left behind.
Ed D — Google review
Full disclosure they let us stay an extra 20min, BUT we booked the karaoke room for around 4 hours, when it was empty (because the place is dead). We spent a fortune on drinks, to be fair they aren’t terrible priced, but still we spent like £300. We asked to play one last song (unmberella - Tom Holland version 🥵) and they came in and turned it off mid song, and kicked us to the kerb. Just be aware they will try to ruin a great night 😔

The Apple is a bustling cider pub located on a converted boat with two floors and bench seats on the cobblestone quayside. It's a must-visit for any cider fan, offering an impressive range of over forty ciders and perries from local and international producers. The bar has a riverside outdoor area where you can enjoy your drink in the summer sun, as well as winter cocktails to keep you warm during colder months.
I came to Bristol to try this amazing place as I love proper cider and this delivers. Very friendly welcome from the staff. It was the hottest weekend of the year and the place was super busy in their outside bar area. There is a pizza vender next to it and also a burger place. So much choice in ciders that I will have to make another visit soon. I have uploaded a few 360 degree photos of the outdoor seating area. If you love proper cider this is a MUST SEE ! Cant wait to return.

Very nice outdoor cider place, quite appropriately named 🍊 There isn't really a whole lot more to say. It is obviously self-service, tables and benches are clean, nice big tents / umbrellas for those rare occasions where it rains. I'm no cider aficionado, but I enjoyed my pint of Kingston Black.

Did not get food but the drinks were very nice. Visited on a rainy afternoon and the staff were lovely.
Craig — Google review
Bar staff were nice and friendly, had a couple of fruity ciders (not fizzy) and a Bristol blend cider. Sat on the benches outside, which were quiet enough to hold a conversation easily. Nice place. Went at about 9pm on a weekday, child was allowed to sit on the benches outside, not allowed on the boat unless going to use the toilets. Only detractor being the amount of homeless walking through asking for change, but that is more of a Bristol wide problem.

Great vibe, amazing drink prices, amazing sound and lighting, two stages, both cool. Bar selection is fantastic and varied, as is the gig selection. Awesome and friendly staff too. Always happy to see a show here!

It's a cozy music venue ideal for live music experiences, particularly alternative and underground genres. The friendly staff and upstairs record shop add to the atmosphere. However, it can get crowded due to limited space, so keep that in mind.

The venue showcases a variety of talent including bands, graffiti artists, comedians, and poets. With its lively party atmosphere and diverse entertainment lineup throughout the week, Mr Wolfs is the perfect place to experience home-grown talent before they hit the big time.
My partner and I sent for the Friday comedy night. It was very cheap £5pp so we weren't expecting much but it was very enjoyable evening. It was a new-material night and we loved Dani and Lloyd. Its a very small and intimate venue with only around 40 seats.
Jamie S — Google review
Bringing indoor and outdoor stages to Dot To Dot, Mr Wolfs is a lot of fun. The stage is up close and person and slightly raised but still feeling intimate, and the sound is raw and loud as you’d hope for a local venue. Outdoor temporary stages are nice and the sound engineer did a decent job of rigging things to sound decent in the street.
Paul — Google review
Attended the Mr Wolfs comedy night during a recent trip to Bristol and had a great time! The comedians, and MC kept us entertained all evening. They were very varied in style but enjoyed experiencing the ups and downs of comedians testing new material on the audience. Overall the venue has a great vibe, the staff are really friendly and at £5 per person, it is great value for money.
Chloe R — Google review
We had a really good night there. We have paid an entry fee, but it was worth it. No an extra charge for the cloakroom. The place is not too big but you have live music for most of the night. Prices for the drinks are reasonable. I'll be back.

Not a bad little bar, with a couple floors and a roof terrace. They host a guest kitchen currently serving vegetarian kebabs, which were quite tasty. The drinks selection was a bit disappointing, but quite cheap especially during the rather long happy hour. They run a lot of events here, e.g. music and live comedy. Overall I'd say it's a good venue if you're going to one of these shows, but I wouldn't be racing there just for drinks.

Fab place for groups; brilliant atmosphere. Nacho's were great to nibble on between throws. I thought beers were a little expensive until I realised that a service charge was automatically added. When we paid the tab at the end the card machine was set up to add ANOTHER tip though - please be aware of this. The club's location makes it convenient to visit other nearby bars like Brass Pig before heading to Mbargo for a lively night out. Went there on a bit of a whim, me and my friends are from Cardiff and had no idea where to go but honestly ended up having a class night. Small place but enough room to dance, okay priced drinks and some good tunes. Bouncers were also top lads very nice people. Will be going back for another iconic night.
Rhian S — Google review
The dance floor is too small but the dj was great so it was fun. The staff continuously kept forcing me to wear my shoes on the dance floor though I told them I have a shoe bite and I'm not comfortable dancing with my shoes on. They have some weird rules, I don't know what's the logic.
Karishma H — Google review
A shame really as the place isn’t too bad… would be nice if they found the love in their heart to pay their staff for the hard work they do!!! Absolutely disgusting how someone can work for you for a month and get paid for none of it! Even though it had been brought to your attention multiple times! So basically avoid at all costs! None of the money you spend in the establishment is used for staff wages!
Holly P — Google review
Good bar and a great vibe for students! Good prices and deals throughout the week. Occasional trouble with weird men and some bouncers don't always take it as seriously as they should. Be careful as sometimes they don't do cloakroom so me and a friend were left holding our coats all night but we had a good time regardless 😂
Jess R — Google review
I was in a group of four guys and we were discriminated due to our gender. At first, we were refused entry as we did not have a girl in our group. The club also didn’t have a cloak room which meant my coat was stolen and when I tried to contact them the next day, they would not respond to my messages. I do not recommend.
Matt B — Google review
Doormen wouldn't initially let us in because "too many of us were male" and there were only 4 females. Don't know what sort of behaviour that's encouraging , but they are extremely rude. Eventually the bouncer changed his mind after mentioning we'd report this. Bar itself is pretty average, make it better by getting better door staff that aren't power hungry air heads.
Henry H — Google review
This club has a number of problems - it's too small and lets in too many people per night, leading to huge queues in and out; its smoking area is basically non-existent, being a tiny cordoned-off area on the pavement outside; the bouncers in generally are overly aggressive and incredibly keen to kick people out - probably because the club is always too crowded.
Jacob M — Google review

Went with my friends on a trip to Bristol! We are all students and wanted to find somewhere for a good student night so went on a Wednesday and it was fantastic! Honestly reading some of these reviews I wasn't sure what it would be like but we had a great time! Music was fab and everyone was really nice :)

Absolutely love this place! Can get crazy busy so advise going early to avoid the queues, but the door staff were really friendly and helpful too. My friend got really drunk and a lady doorman called Kim helped to get her outside and looked after us, nothing seemed too much trouble for her. All the bar staff were smiling and seemed to be having a great night too so makes the night totally worth it! Love OMG
Sarah — Google review
The main thing to say is that the staff are super! So helpful, no rudeness and I take my hat off to them for having to deal with all sorts of drunken levels of people 😂! Truly it was refreshing to see a team like it. Only negative…is that is this a gay bar anymore? There’s no way to manage that at all but I might suggest going to an over 21 policy.
Toby H — Google review
Been coming to OMG for a little while now and I think it’s a great place. Sure, it’s a little run down and could do with a bit of a spruce up, but still think it’s fab. Door staff are friendly and seem super on it when turning people away for being at a gay club for the wrong reasons. Definitely makes you feel safe and they’ve always been great if I’ve approached them for help. Bar staff are pretty friendly and get the drinks out fast which is also a bonus. Bit weird that there’s no DJ on a weekend and I’ve noticed the play list is pretty repetitive so that would probably be my only real criticism.
Thomas M — Google review
We had a very disappointing experience. First, we exited from the fire exit of one club in the building by mistake. A female security guard approached us — we immediately apologized, but she was extremely rude and didn’t let us back inside. We spoke to the manager, but he didn’t believe us and offered no support. Later, we went to OMG Club, which is in the same building but a completely different venue. We had bought separate tickets for it. However, when we arrived, the security team there referred to the earlier incident and refused to let us in as well. This is completely unfair — these are two different clubs, and we were judged based on something that had nothing to do with OMG Club. We felt targeted and mistreated. This kind of treatment is unacceptable, especially after paying for tickets. Think twice before visiting this place.
Sameera W — Google review
I was treated very badly at this club on Saturday night, i was refused entry for being too drunk when in fact I was sober. I was visiting this club with a group of friends and my girlfriend for a celebration. I believe Rob was the doorman who refused me entry. He also refused a few other random people in the queue that didn’t even know me but vouched for me being sober. I have visited this club a few times and always enjoyed my experience. I will not be returning here and hope others read this and take note about this doorman. I had a great time in another bar down the road without a single problem.
Rhys E — Google review
The bar staff are lovely, the drinks are amazing. However, the male sat in the unisex toilets makes me SO uncomfortable. I witnessed him pushing open a cubicle door repeatedly which had a young woman in, who was near enough undressed/naked when she explicitly told him not to as she was naked. This made me very uncomfortable and I hope he gets some sort of sanction regarding this. You seriously need to look into the staff in the toilets working there, as i saw how scared and anxious this woman was getting. I spoke to her afterwards and not only is she extremely anxious and wound up, but he insisted that she would get kicked out just because she and another one of her friends were in the cubicle — which she also explained was because her friend had a period product she needed. Im horrified and overall disgusted.

Absolutely appalled by the treatment we received at OMG Bristol. My friend – who doesn’t drink for religious reasons – was refused entry for being “too drunk.” Let that sink in. Stone-cold sober, and somehow deemed unfit to enter. I don’t want to speculate too much, but it genuinely felt like the bouncer was looking to start a fight with the biggest bloke in the group. On top of that, he called my friend a slag. Completely inappropriate, unprofessional, and downright disgusting. Safe to say we left immediately and headed to Queen Shilling instead – where we were welcomed without issue and had an absolutely epic night. Friendly staff, great vibes, and not a single insult in sight. I’d recommend giving OMG a miss unless you’re into being insulted on the door.

The venue hosts top shows and stars from around the country, catering to audiences of all ages with child-friendly productions like Wicked, Matilda, and Diversity from Britain's Got Talent.
Amazing theatre, makes me feel like I’m in London. The stalls seats are up a slope which is great for shorter people! Great view from both stalls and the circle, even at the back.

My very first theatre show and I was completely blown away. From the moment I stepped inside, the atmosphere was magical. The building itself is stunning, with a charming historic feel and a grand interior that sets the perfect stage for a night of theatre. Moulin Rouge was everything I hoped it would be vibrant, emotional, and full of energy. The lighting, costumes, and set design were next-level, and the cast gave an unforgettable performance. As a first time theatre-goer, this experience has set the bar incredibly high. If you’ve never been, I highly recommend catching a show at the Hippodrome. It’s an experience you won’t forget.
AsabaYT — Google review
Staff here are always fabulous. I love the theatre, it's beautiful. There is an access door to the side of the building and staff there are super helpful. There's a wheelchair lift for the stalls with bookable access seats through ATG. There is also a disabled toilet, but the queue for it takes a long time. Always have a fabulous time here and have never had any problems visiting

Always my complaint when I go to the theatre is the sound ! Not this time well done Mr or Mrs Sounnd engineer. Absolutely bloody fantastic. Great cast for Bat out of Hell the musical probably equal to when we saw it in London 2017. Vocally excellent , thank you Bristol Hippodrome we will definitely come back. Worth the trip from South Wales.

I absolutely love Bristol hippodrome. Beautiful venue, helpful staff and so brilliant being able to see West End shows. Went yesterday to see Moulin Rouge. Good bits about this show: the set was phenomenal, gorgeous sumptuous costumes, loved the elephant and the windmill. Cast vibrant, leads good. Not so good bits about this show: if you're expecting,as I did,to hear the same music from the film, then be prepared for disappointment. The songs from the film are iconic to the film and I had thought they'd keep them all. However,Lady Gaga and Katy Perry songs just didn't do it for me or my husband. We are huge fans of the film and so looked forward to this. Quite honestly, the new songs just jarred. Roxanne was the highlight for me and in the original film but too many mash ups of other songs just left me feeling disappointed. If you haven't seen the film, this is a fabulous show,if you are going as a film fan of Moulin Rouge be prepared to see it is not the same. Having said that,we are really lucky to have such a fantastic venue on our doorstep and I will continue to support it.

Beautiful venue however the sound system needs reviewing. This is my second show where it's hard to hear the actors voices at points (I was sitting in the royal circle). Needs to be clearer.

Beautiful venue. Friendly staff. Very clean and well presented always. Merch store always ready before show starts to save people time! And the ability to order food and drinks and merch to your seat pre show and for the interval is a fantastic service! Pricey food and drinks but you expect that these days :) lovely venue!

Steak of the Art is not your average dining experience. This quirky eatery combines art and food, offering a unique atmosphere where you can enjoy delicious meals surrounded by local artwork. The venue doubles as an art gallery, showcasing a variety of pieces while you dine. The decor is just as creative, featuring colorful and beautifully crafted furniture. Whether you're into paintings or fine cuts, this place has something for everyone. You can even customize your meal by choosing your preferred cut and sauce.
Absolutely brilliant restaurant with fabulous décor. Each booth has a different theme. Amazing artwork and craftsmanship, especially the carving of the Alice in Wonderland booth. Of course, all that would be meaningless if the food wasn't any good. Thankfully the food is equally wonderful. The Express Lunch Menu is great value; for £12.95 each we had steak & chips and a glass of wine. The food was perfectly cooked, tasty and tender. Will definitely go back next time I'm in the area.
Andy P — Google review
We kicked things off with a couple of starters — the chicken croquettes were a standout: rich, creamy and topped with crispy chicken skin for that extra crunch and flavour. I also tried the burnt ends, which looked the part but didn’t quite hit the mark for me flavour-wise. For mains, the steak was smoky and cooked well — a solid plate that delivered on tenderness and portion size. There’s so many cuts and size options so lots of choice for big groups who might have varying stomach sizes and budgets! The sides were the real stars for me: the garlic spinach was buttery and delicious. Plus tell me a time truffle fries are not a good idea! The space itself is full of character, with bold, creative interiors and eye-catching artwork throughout. It’s a unique setting that definitely adds something extra to your meal.
Laura H — Google review
I booked here for Mother’s Day and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. Grace was our server, she was lovely, attentive, and friendly. The food was very good, the roasts were very good, flavourful, and great portions for the price. My only criticism would be the beef on the roast could’ve been served pinker - but that’s personal preference; the piece of chicken was cooked well but more flavour is needed. However, my dad really enjoyed it so no complaints there. The yorkies are massssive too! I had the squid for starter and it was so good, crispy, and not overly oily. The flavour was well balanced. My mum had burnt ends and they were so tender. The chicken croquettes were surprising, big portion, very pretty, and my dad enjoyed them. Personally the squid was the best. I had the black garlic short rib and wow! Tender rip and amazing mashed potato. Surprising the mash was the star of the show for me - so creamy, smooth, and overall a simple mash done perfectly. I would recommend coming here for sure, the prices are reasonable for the portions and the flavours are pleasant.

We had a nice time at this restaurant. The food was delicious and truly underrated. Fortunately, it wasn't busy when we visited. The staff member who serviced our table was incredibly friendly and our little one really took a liking to him. Because of this, we are excited to come back again!
Kwang S — Google review
The food itself was well cooked and tasty. However, for a £31 steak to not come with any accompaniments (besides what can only be described as a single leaf and 2 small tomatoes) felt like very poor value, especially considering the high cost of sides and a sauce. The staff were nice and friendly however felt a little inexperienced. The view out of the window was almost hilariously unappealing because of the large signs reading ‘endoscopy clinic’ (although this is only some of the booth seating). The art theme was nice but half hearted with a selection of paintings and some interesting art at the table, although this felt a little run down. Knowing that the restaurant had art in the name, I was expecting the menu to be more than black text on white paper as in any other restaurant.

Steak of the Art isn't just another steakhouse; it's a unique fusion of a vibrant art gallery and a fantastic dining experience. If you're looking for a place with a lively atmosphere and a fresh take on the traditional steakhouse concept, this could be your next favorite spot in Bristol. Atmosphere and Interior Design One of the most praised aspects of Steak of the Art is its distinctive and art-filled interior design. The restaurant truly feels like a "living gallery," showcasing a diverse range of artworks, plush and boldly upholstered seating, and themed dining booths. This artistic ambiance elevates the dining experience beyond a simple meal, providing a fun and original backdrop perfect for a night out with friends or family. You can even purchase some of the displayed artworks if something catches your eye!

Excellent Pre-Theatre Steak at Steak of Art, Bristol! Just had a fantastic pre-theatre meal at Steak of Art in Bristol! The place has a brilliant vibe and the decor is genuinely great. Service was top-notch, really friendly and efficient. For food, I had the rib-eye and the missus had the rump, and both steaks were cooked absolutely perfectly. Totally recommend Steak of Art for anyone wanting a quality steak and a great atmosphere before a show.

I've eaten here so many times and on average the food is.. ok ... But this last time I took my daughter for breakfast was diabolical. My daughter ordered the sausage and egg muffin which she enjoyed. However my standard breakfast was not good at all, I'm almost certain it said I was meant to have 2 hash browns but it came with 1. I paid extra for the mushrooms and black pudding to be added - the black pudding was inedible, fully cremated..and I actually asked for a refund on that part. I would have asked for another to be cooked but there were no staff walking around and the queue at the bar was huge. I thought it was a joke at first with the amount of beans, it didn't even fill half the little pot they originally get served in and they were barely warm. The toast was over cooked, as was the egg. The bacon and sausage was nice though. I know prices are pretty decent and I'm never hoping for Michelin star style food here but this was not at all the usual standard vshed provides and I was really disappointed. I might be back for other food options but I definitely wouldn't waste my money having a breakfast here again.

Oh dear... 4 attempts to get a clean glass. "Thats how they come what do you want" A clean glass, it's not hard. No need for sarcastic remarks made to one another while sorting it out. Poor service and an assumption that because I'm Northern I must be stupid... We came here to eat and crossed town. The bar staff changed my mind, clicky individuals. Never again while we are based down here in Bristol... Very poor...

V-Shed is one of the best Wetherspoons I’ve been to. The location right on the Bristol Harbourside gives it an amazing atmosphere, especially on a sunny day. The outdoor seating area has great views and is perfect for drinks with friends. Inside, it’s spacious and lively, with quick service even when it’s busy. Food and drinks are reasonably priced, and everything came out fresh and well-prepared. Definitely one of the top spots in Bristol for a casual pint or meal, great value and unbeatable views!

Very nice café and a popular one near the harbour side. If you go early enough you may avoid the long queue to get a seat. Perfect place to go with friends on a bright sunny day. I had their English breakfast and it was so good. Service was good too ✨ I also loved their custom clay pots.

Perhaps it would be a good idea for me to phone ahead and inform cafés what I expect when I get there. The consumption of beverii (the new plural of beverage) is a personal thing. One man's..... person's nectar is another person's poison. The coffee was good 👍 in that it tasted very much of........ coffee. I'm getting obsessed with the pattern on top, the 'swirly', as I call it. This swirly was a half-bottomed (cleaned that one up) attempt by someone who doesn't know how important it is to me. Hence the phoning ahead comment. In mitigation the orange and almond cake was both orangey and almondy in equal measures however it failed in another qualification pertaining to my tastes. It was not moist. Not only do I like the word moist (moist, moistest, most moistest) but I also like my cakes to be moisty. Mmmmmmm..... moist. As in not dry. X out of ten, where X is a low number.

We had our wedding at the Mud Dock in September 2025. I cannot recommend this venue enough. Firstly, throughout the planning they were really responsive and Victoria was brilliant at advising and helping us plan the menu and decorations. They completely handled our set up and it looked stunning. Secondly, we didn't have to think about anything on the day - it just ran to plan! Thirdly, the food was gorgeous and really great with allergies. We were a little worried about it being enough when service started but but by the end everyone was stuffed. Finally, all the staff on the day were so nice and quick on the bar. They were also very gracious when we smashed quite a few glasses... We can't fault any of the day. We had 76 guests for food and another 15 in the evening. This was the perfect sized venue for that many people. If you book the Mud Dock (which you should) I would also recommend our DJ Dom Lawson, who was brilliant and just got himself all set up and sorted, and kept the dancefloor completely full until the end. Plus our incredible photographer, Matt Willis - the photos speak for themselves.

Additionally, it features the Bristol Loaf cafe serving Scandi-inspired food and natural wines.
My first trip to the Bristol Beacon was not a disappointment. The venue looks amazing. I had a great view of the stage and Stephen Wilson was fantastic. The only slight downside was the lack of legroom, but it certainly didn't spoil my evening. I'm hoping to get another chance to visit this venue

What an amazing venue! Without doubt the best equipped theatre that I've ever seen. Great bars, fantastic restaurants and amazing facilities. The staff are wonderful too! My wife is disabled and this is so well catered for in this building. Access was brilliant to all areas. We ate at the Collonade restaurant which was also fabulous. I can't fault this venue. I had an absolutely amazing time. My review may be biased because of who we went to see, but the venue was excellent. Large floor infront of stage, lots of seating elevated around the back and sides. This is a great venue, it's such a beautiful building. Ideal for a variety of events. A lot of the original features remain, or have been replaced like for like. Much of the original brickwork, and flooring remain throughout the building. The modern meets historical vibe works well for this venue. Everyone is so helpful and friendly. Bar staff, reception, front of house, ushers, all make the space feel so welcoming. The lift might have been out of order, but they have a series of contingency plans, and everyone is able to access the venue. A lovely night was had, when 3 of us came to see Rosie Jones. (She was as fabulous as ever) A special shout out to Rowan who was so helpful from the moment we arrived, to the moment we left. There were several sets of toilets: Gender neutral Male Female Disabled I used the gender neutral toilets, and as I suspected, was absolutely fine! These toilets are great for single parents and carers of opposing genders, who may need to enter the space. Or, rather bizarrely, someone like me who just needed the loo! More spaces should consider installing gender neutral loos.

Like the calendar of performances, the facilities are good. The latest update ticketing system and reminders to links to drinks ordering are really good. It is always a very friendly theatre but can get busy so not easy to get around with a full house. The only issue often is finding seats with clear view to stage. The seats can often have limited leg room so be careful when booking. Otherwise, we continue to enjoy performances at the Old Vic, Private Lives was excellent.

Me and my partner went for the "all you can eat Sunday wings today" only to be told that you now had to book for the all you can eat wings and can't simply turn up like you once could *note the signs advising the Sunday wings do not state you need to book and neither does the website* on top of being greatly disappointed with what feels like false advertising, the girl tending the bar could not even be bothered to acknowledge our hello to her, she just about managed to string enough words together to tell her that you had to book for the wings. Disappointed to say the least. The tables are sticky too.

We had a very disappointing experience. We booked a table for 12:00, but the place was still closed at that time and only opened 15 minutes later. After that, we had to wait another 20 minutes at the bar before being told which table was ours. There were four of us, and after ordering drinks twice, when we finally ordered food we were suddenly asked to move to another table. The new table was placed further away from the screens, even though we specifically came to watch football. Overall, the service was extremely poor and completely unacceptable.

Simply awesome. From entering the bar to the service and (of course) the drinks, The Milk Thistle wowed us all the way. My non-drinking partner raved about her custom non-alcoholic drink the team whipped up, calling it the 'best drink she ever had'. And my whisky-forward beverage, with mango beads (caviar) of all things... amazing. Definitely check it out if you're in the center of Bristol!

Cocktails were perfectly tasty but the service was slow. It was extremely dark as well so was hard to actually see your drinks/the menu! They also put in HUGE ice cubes so the quantity of drink is ridiculous for the price! Wouldn’t recommend going as a bigger group as we were there for an hour and a half and only managed to get one drink served in that time! Was a ‘cool’, ‘alternative’ place to try out though!

Beautiful and intimate cocktail bar with a unique ambiance. Excellent service and the perfect bar for a high end alcohol tasting experience. Staff team were beyond friendly and made us feel welcome. Highly recommend for a quiet and relaxed drinking experience.

How anyone could rate this place anything less than 5 stars is beyond me! To start, I did feel a bit lost outside the venue and ended up calling to check if they were open. Stu kindly answered and explained I just needed to ring the doorbell (I did feel a little silly 😅), but he instantly put me at ease and made me feel welcome. Once inside, I was seated at the bar and looked after by Will – an absolute legend. I mentioned I was a whisky drinker and shared what I liked. That’s when the real journey began. They introduced me to whiskies I’d never even heard of, and I was given an exclusive tour of their collection – absolutely mind-blowing. The customer care and knowledge the team have is second to none. I was later introduced to Tom, who was just as friendly, passionate, and knowledgeable as Stu and Will. Honestly, this place is a hidden gem – the staff are incredibly welcoming, and the range of cocktails and whiskies is unbelievable. I can’t recommend this place highly enough to anyone visiting Bristol who loves whisky, cocktails, and great company. Wishing Will the best of luck on his upcoming adventures to Italy and Canada – you’ll definitely be missed by the team. Thank you all for making my very first trip to Bristol such a memorable one 🙏🏻

Now my favourite cocktail spot in Bristol. Sid was brilliant and made a couple of off-the-menu cocktails for me. They were two distinct drinks, both of which tasted amazing! Much better than I anticipated. Please add nightcap to your menu (the name of the final one I had)! Its those who love smoky whiskey or rum flavours with a kick.

The Alma Tavern & Theatre in Clifton is a multifaceted venue that offers an eclectic experience for visitors. The pub boasts regular jazz performances and a diverse selection of beverages, including west country beers, ciders, wines, and whiskies. The establishment features an intimate theatre space upstairs where a wide range of productions have been showcased since its opening in 1997.
Quality pub. Really friendly and welcoming staff, very attentive. Pub is ready well maintained, food there is amazing. Had a roast. Prices are reasonable. They have a nice beer garden, seating is comfortable. They have it's own theatre, it's also only a few minutes walk away from Clifton train station.

Fairly standard Sunday roast, with everything sort of tasting of nothing. I get the sense this place is treated as the bar staffs own personal venue and customers come second (on the Sunday I was in the bar staff were very excited that their friend brought a baby in, and all took turns holding it, forgetting people were at the bar) which is a shame. It has been much better in the past, but I do get the sense there’s no control there. The theatre upstairs is great for a night out, I’d just avoid Sundays.

Went there for a theatre production and it was lovely. Good bar and good drinks on offer. Dining area looked good, also very clean and well presented. Theatre is separate and upstairs with good seating and a proper lighting setup. Go for it next time you have a option to, you won't be disappointed :)

Have been coming to this pub for a while, love the atmosphere and selection of drinks. Food is really nice and service from the chefs is fast. The bar staff really let the side down though, they come across very rude and look as if they don’t want to be there.

Established in 1961, it spans three floors and showcases stunning works from artists worldwide. The center offers free rotating exhibitions and hosts various community art activities and live events throughout the year.
We really enjoyed the Barbara Walker exhibition in this very nice museum next to the river. Perfect for a cultural stop during your visit of the city, close to lots of pubs and restaurants to grab a meal or a drink before or after your visit.

It was a great venue for the event we attended here (Pixel Pioneers). Great audio visual, relatively comfortable seating, but such a great vibe. Visited the bookstore which has a great selection of indy magazines. Extra bonus were the lockers downstairs, which enabled us to enjoy exploring Bristol encumbered. The staff were super friendly too.

I waited years to visit the Arnolfini. First time I visited it was closed. Can't remember what happened the second time, I only remember not getting in for whatever reason 🤔. I needed a foolproof plan and devised a cunning strategy to ensure it would be third time lucky. Perhaps I was too eager, perhaps I'd built up how good it was going to be due to my desire to enter. When I eventually did I was a tad disappointed 😞. Nothing special, no Mona Lisa's to view, no Escher's hanging on the walls to marvel at. It may well have been that I went at exactly the wrong time, the time when the exhibits weren't the type to tickle me in the brain department. Shouldn't grumble 'cos it's a freebie to enter but the bubble was burst, I was a little deflated when leaving. Deep sigh.

Her Majesty's Secret Service is a cozy, British-themed bar with a mysterious entrance through a phone box. Unlike other prohibition-era style bars, HMSS has a surreal decor and serves cocktails in unconventional containers like Wellington boots and Chinese takeaway boxes. The bar exudes a hush-hush James Bond vibe with discreet alleyway access and even features a caricature of Sean Connery on the wall.
Such a good cocktail bar right next to Clifton downs station. It's like stepping back into the 80s with the decor, and if you're a fan of weird glasses to be served drinks in then you'll be right at home here. The cocktails are excellent and you can order your own or add your preferred spirit to existing recipes if requested. Look at the Christmas moose glass!

Her Majesty's Secret Service (HMSS) is a stunning cocktail bar that offers an unforgettable experience. Located in the heart of Whiteladies Road - Bristol, just next to the Clifton train station, this bar is perfect for anyone looking for a fun night out with friends or a romantic evening with a loved one. Upon entering HMSS, you are transported into a different world. The décor is reminiscent of a 1950s British spy film, complete with dark wooden panels, vintage furniture, and dim lighting. The attention to detail is impressive. Would advise perhaps booking in advance, as the space is popular, if not, you can still try and ask if there's some space available. The bar menu is just as impressive as the decor. The cocktail list is extensive and features unique and inventive drinks. The friendly bartenders are skilled and passionate, creating cocktails that not only look incredible but taste delicious, with attention to allergies. Whether you're in the mood for a classic Martini or a more adventurous concoction, HMSS has something for everyone. Overall, Her Majesty's Secret Service is a must-visit for cocktail lovers. The ambience is unique, the drinks are creative and delicious, and the service is excellent. It's no wonder this bar has become so popular!

👀 Oi you scrolling for reviews just go! Brilliant place! We went as a couple and everyone made us feel so welcome and the cocktails were bloody delicious. There was a JENGA game to play too while we were waiting for our drinks and good music vibe, I do think however the decor could reflect the theme more and some more games is a win. Great place to hangout with friends. Food is good enough compared to the price. Service is good too. The bathroom could be cleaner and also a bit too cramped to go downstairs. Could be cleaner in general.

I visited The Grain Barge while exploring Bath and Bristol on a wider trip, and it turned out to be a great choice. The setting on the water makes it feel a bit different and adds to the charm straight away. The service was very good — quick, friendly, and efficient. I had a Chardonnay, a lager with lime cordial, and for food went with the lime-battered fish, chips, and mushy peas. The portion was ample, the quality was spot-on, and everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. Pricing was fair for both food and drinks, and with the combination of quick service, good food, and a lovely view from the barge, the whole experience felt like solid value. Overall, The Grain Barge delivered exactly what I was hoping for — a relaxed meal in a unique setting. I’d happily recommend it to anyone visiting Bristol, and I’d definitely return myself.

We popped in for a cheeky drink before dinner... venue was comfy, warm, and welcoming. Staff were all super helpful and friendly. So much so that we decided to stay for more drinks, including working our way through the shot and bomb menu.. we also had dinner here and the food was really good. The Bristol Beer Factory - Tap Room is located in an old brewery building with a rich history dating back to the 1820s. Since acquiring the site in 2004, they have developed a range of core beers and small-batch brews, all available at their spacious taproom in South Bristol. The taproom also features a bar, visitor center, and bottle shop. This independent brewery offers a variety of flavorful beers such as Fortitude, Clear Head, and Milk Stout.
Popped in for a swift pint and the place was so nice I ended up staying for several more! The staff were great at talking me through all the beers, letting me taste everything too, they really know their stuff! I came here very accidentally. I was looking around the city and I saw this beer shop. The interior is like a beer factory storage. I recently headed over to Kask for one of their Cheese + Wine Tasting Events, and had the BEST evening! Just an absolutely brilliant evening from start to finish, and in such a stunning setting too! We recently held our wedding celebrations at KASK, and could not have asked for a better day. The space, the team, the food, THE WINE! Charlie and team went above and beyond to make us feel special and listened to. There was no stress - great communication before the private hire, and check ins during the event. In advance of our celebration, we met to discuss specific wines and other drink options, and Charlie made sure to get these in for us. All of which were delicious. We had many guests who didn't know volumes about wine, but the team were able to offer thoughtful recommendations that made every one feel looked after, despite it being a busy day! The cheese/charcuterie platters were locally sourced and delicious. Finally, as a queer couple we have always (on our many visits) been made to feel comfortable, safe and welcome at Kask. This was one of the main reasons in selecting this venue also. Great vibes, perfect wine and the most welcoming team. 10/10 recommend <3

Wine bars often have a rustic, contemporary, or sophisticated feel but instead it felt neglected, in need of face lift. The outside needs a good clean, the decking is old and the stairs are falling apart and are a slip hazard. You could easily fix them with 2 hours work. They need sanding down and some non slip stair treads added. The plants all look half dead and the tables need some candles or lanterns added for atmosphere. You could go online and kit the garden out for less than £100. Staff should carry out the wine and drinks to the table not the customer. The plates look like they come from ikea. Both times I've been here staff have forgotten to bring the cheese and I've had to get up and ask again at the bar. Tables weren't cleared either, there were empty bottles and glasses on the tables. A dress code for the staff wouldn't go amiss and I wouldn't trust the hygiene levels considering the staff were handling cash and touching their faces to then go to the back to prepare the food. You need to take inspiration from your European counterparts where customer service is viewed as an art. Whoever is in charge of this place needs to seriously reassess how it's being managed.
Ed H — Google review
KASK is more than a wine bar - it is a cultural institution preserving and promoting the notion of 'terroir' for wines. They understand that products from the land aren't just functional, they are unique living things that when nurtured and picked at the right time can create once in a lifetime experiences. We booked a private tasting event at KASK to entertain sponsors, speakers and delegates of a sustainability focussed conference in Bristol happening the next day. Charlie and the team were wonderful at making us feel welcome. They selected very interesting wines bringing to life the people, land and stories behind the drink. Did you know there was wine being made in Chew Valley by a Druid? Being on theme Charlie also explained to us how mass market wine ariculture is contributing to climate change and land degradation - another good argument to select your wine carefully from an independent merchant supporting your local economy. Say no to shit wine and shop local. Better for you, your community and the planet.

The bouncers always intimidate me, making me feel uncomfortable on purpose. Generally rude even though I’m just tryna chill. Also the sound guys have no idea how to mix. Way too loud.

Had lots of fun! Went to Jungle Massive Free Party on the 24th August. Music was "Jungle, allllll night long!" Saw: DJSS, Tribe Steppaz (Formation Records) & Dagga, DJ Crewz, Trakker (Natty Dub), Vinyl Junkie and Rachael E.C
Ina D — Google review
Great place, sat outside really so cannot base an opinion of the inside. But it was really packed, there's a lot of outside seating and a really nice atmosphere being close to everyone.

I've been here a few times for various events, it has a great atmosphere and there are some really cool people here. Quite good price and great location, right on the edge of Stokes Croft and City centre.
Lewis W — Google review
Once saw a kid drink his own piss in the toilet here. 10/10 would recommend to all thrill seekers.
Eric L — Google review
Big dirty rave venue. Went to a quality night of breakcore jungle and old skool here. Some of the best vibes in Bristol
Matt J — Google review
Scam for money, claimed it was free entry or possibly £5 if you entered late yet when we got to the entrance it was apparently £10 which none of us had the cash for despite getting an Uber from a long distance away
