The 50 best Chinese food in Bristol

Ordered the set meal for 2, which ended up being delicious and very filling. A great environment to dine in, but unfortunately felt that the staff were under resourced. We were often left to our own devices with little to no staff service. In the end our food came over an hour after ordering!

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Cathy Rendezvous. I ordered a delivery, and the chicken in my meal was very undercooked to the point of being raw. This is completely unacceptable, as consuming raw chicken poses serious health risks. The quality control and food safety standards at this restaurant clearly need significant improvement. I expected much better, especially for the price. I would not recommend this place based on my experience.

If I could give this a zero I would. I have received an order through uber eats which has given me raw chicken claws amongst my order instead of fried chicken breast in honey sauce. Looking at them makes me feel sick so I can’t even eat the other items. And yet i am only being refunded for the chicken dish. For further help I am referred back to Cathy rendezvous but can only get an automated message referring me to website hence the review. Had I been able to talk to someone and got the full refund requested this could have been avoided.

Whilst the service and quality of food were of an acceptable standard, the value for money was significantly poor with extremely small portions compared to both previous visits at this establishment and other restaurants. My Main Course was more like a Starter in terms of food quality and nutrition with there being very little meat in what was described on the menu as a Steak Fillet dish. I also felt that the drinks provided were of low quality. I ordered a Coconut water which came in a can and was largely sugar. I would expect better at a restaurant of this calibre.

I visited Cathay Rendezvous with a group of blind people in July. The staff went out of their way to accommodate our needs and were very friendly and helpful. They happily assembled the duck pancakes for one of us as requested. The food was great and the waitress even walked with one of us to the Uber pick up point around the corner. The best customer service I’ve seen in a long time!

We had an amazing dinner when we visited Cathay Rendezvous. After ordering, the food arrived really quickly and all the different dishes tasted extremely well! Duck, spring rolls, lemon chicken, sweet and sour all of them were perfect! Staff were extremely kind and helpful, they also always smiled and were really positive. A small note for the restaurant; After having finished our dinner, it seemed like we were forgotten. We had to ask couple of times for dessert menus and for someone to help clear our table before the dessert came. It seemed like our last 40mins in the restaurant were spend trying to order dessert and then wait for it to arrive. When we were done, we then walked to the entrance to pay our bill to avoid any further delays.

I don't like leaving poor reviews but this is the experience we had. When our food arrived I pointed out to the waitress that I thought the char sui pork came with bean sprouts, that is what it said on the menu. She told me they don't do the bean sprouts any longer, so I pointed out what it said on the menu. She 'went to check' then steadfastly refused to make eye contact with me until we were leaving. They didn't charge us for the meal but that's not really the point. Some communication would have been nice.

We came for the Wednesday family meal, and it was amazing. Loads of lovely, delicious food, great service. Had the crispy chicken, crispy duck pancakes, crispy lamb, sweet and sour, mixed meat in black bean sauce, crispy noodles, jasmine tea, and rice.

We went there for dinner after recommendation from our friends. I must say it was one of the best Chinese we had. Food was amazing and staff was very courteous and friendly. We would definitely come back again.

I was really excited to try here as a Coeliac who hasn't had a Chinese in a year since being diagnosed; but unfortunately the food was such a let down. The atmosphere was good and bustling. Both ladies serving were nice. You order off a QR code (i know lots of places do this now, not my favourite, it feels so impersonal to me :( I had the GF chop suey which looked insipid and tasted it too. The sauce was a very odd consistency and so unbelievably bland. The egg fried rice was nice. My friend had the non GF crispy beef and said it was okay, but also didn't taste of much. This dish was listed as having a GFO and when I asked one of the waitresses what was the GFO, she said Im not 100% sure but I assume its a different sauce. Not exactly reassuring. When asked if the meal was ok to be honest I said yes because I'd waited all day for my food and so did eat it all. The meal was ended with the waitress giving the bill and saying 'it does not include a service charge'. Which was an odd thing to highlight. Almost £10 for egg fried rice seems pretty high. Unfortunately I've also been on the toilet numerous times today unwell.

We have been here a few times for dinner as a family and all the time food was on the spot. They have a good range of food options from starter to dessert. However, some of the desserts are out of stock most of the time. Service is okay, but could have been better. Overall it's a good place with good service. Pros: Price, Food Cons: Seating, Service

I am coeliac and haven’t been able to have a Chinese takeaway for a long time. When visiting my sister we found out about Hao Wei, yesterday evening we thought we would give it a go and wow we were not disappointed. I went in person to order so I could check to make sure things would be safe for me to eat (so many GF options available - wanted to check cross contamination etc) the young girl who I first spoke to wasn’t able to answer my questions but quickly found a member of staff who was able to answer all my questions and offer other menu options that weren’t specified on the menu. The food was 10/10 it was so lovely to enjoy a takeaway with my family without feeling like I was eating GF! Thank you Hao Wei! Would recommended 100%!

Hit or miss food. Fried squid was tasty but Egg fried rice didn’t even taste freshly fried which is such a red flag. Ready in 10 minutes, 3 dishes tasted like cornflour/potato starch and stock. No ‘Chinese’ flavours here. Kind of satisfying at least some of it but could just be so much better. Good for gluten free people.

First time in the restaurant - take away. Great atmosphere and lovely decor. Prompt service at the counter and waiting area is secluded from main dining area. Food was brought to me very quickly and it was all delicious and looked great. Definitely recommend this place for a take-away and we’ll be back to dine-in.

The first receptionist informed me that I had one hour to dine since I didn’t have a reservation. I was seated at a large table. I ordered two dishes: crispy noodle with beef and a quarter Peking duck. The prices were quite reasonable, especially considering it’s in the UK. The food arrived quickly and was served hot, which I appreciated. They offered free hot jasmine tea and chilled water, which I really liked. Later, another staff member came by and told me there was no need to rush, which made me feel much more relaxed, especially since I had been eating in quite a hurry.

The restaurant is huge & absolutely stunning! We went for: 🔹Three roasties 🔹Chicken chow mein 🔹Sweet & sour Chicken balls 🔹Salt & chilli ribs 🔹Sizzling canton pork chop 🔹Prawn crackers It was all incredible but the highlight for me had to be the three roasties meat and the chicken chow mein! ❤️

Food overall is bad and portions are tiny. Picture 1 and 2: Roast duck came cold and some pieces were raw. Server offered to microwave the duck, which is laughable. We were compensated with a duck leg, which was not even cut up into pieces. Picture 3: Mayflower signature rice, it was just unappetising. White rice covered in a boring sauce. Picture 4: Black pepper beef, £20. Contained 8 slices, so that is £2.50 per slice. Taste was okay. This restaurant used to serve up much better food, it has gone downhill since they moved to the new location. Very disappointed with the quality and quantity of food, I do not recommend it to anyone. £20 per person, none of us walked out full.

Chewing pork chops and the beef brisket are like chewing bubble gum. After eat the fried squid, sore throat for a week. But the waiter(Gary) who served us was really friendly, and we hung out afterward.

Overpriced mid food. Service is noticeably bad, rude waiters whom lack decency, very chaotic at times, I waited over an hour for a dish and was supremely dissatisfied when it arrived, I'm sure they missed it but claimed it was cooking time, they called me when I was sat in the restaurant at my table asking me where I was and honestly just go nice spice instead. No worth your time or money

Went to this restaurant three times the first time was to make a reservation and was met with an old gentleman on the bar who was hard to communicate with and was very rude in tone while taking reservation i was with my girlfriend so did not respond anything to it but was told i would get the table i wanted by the glass facing outside and was told it would be fine and would get it but when we came the next day the table we requested was taken along the same line and were seated in an uncomfortable table of four which was too big to converse in and enjoy the food so eventually had to sit adjacent rather than opposite and found the same gentleman in the bar and was not very easy to talk with the lady who serves us was nice but no checkbacks were done we were not once checked upon to ask about the food or if we wanted anything but to clear the plates before we finished we had reached at 10.50pm and the restaurant closes at 12 but we werent asked for any dessert or drinks refill or the chilli oil refills neither of us were told about last orders being at 11.30 so we assumed we would be told for desserts eventually a different lady came to our table and handed the takeaway boxes to us to pack uo and leave . Very unprofessional but my girlfriend loved the egg rice and she wanted to have the chopsticks but were refused. One of the nicest Chinese restaurants ive been to ruined by terrible service and closing time atrosities. Had been waiting till august 25 for them to reopen so we could check it out after hearing good comments on the food but walking into a disastrous and disappointing service. Went for the third time to get the egg rice my girlfriend loved and had a chat to the manager nice guy gave us a lot of recommendations on the food but me returning to the restaurant after having such an awful experience are slim to none on a dining maybe take aways so i dont have to deal with the rude old gentleman in the bar. My family enjoyed the food. It's hard to find good chinese food near cabot circus, but my singapore family enjoyed most of the dishes that we ordered.

I had braised pork belly with rice, absolutely delicious! The pork was tender and flavorful, with just the right balance of sweetness and savory taste. The sauce soaked perfectly into the rice, making every bite satisfying. Definitely a dish I’d recommend and come back for!

I went here for lunch for my birthday and it was excellent. I had the spicy fish cooking pot and the fish was the best I’ve had in a long time! I’m fairly picky when it comes to fish so I don’t order it a lot but I’m so pleased I took the risk because this was melt in your mouth white fish. There was no ‘fishy’ taste it was very fresh and tasty. I also loved the stuffed animals they had and the fresh flowers. I definitely recommend eating here I was very impressed!

Lovely staff. Paid £43 for a starter, 2 soft drinks and 2 x very generous hot pots with a side of thick Noodles. Very reasonable for the quality of the meal. Abolute gem of a place.

Fabulous! Splendid! That’s exactly the taste I have had back in China!! Feel super satisfactory and warm especially having a steaming cooking pot in the wet and cold windy day for me. The ribs are cooked literally very authentic with Chinese pickled cabbages. This is my favourite dish, Pork ribs and pickled Cabbage. Hope this restaurant can get better and better to make this Chinese delicacy spreading to more people😋

Ha Jiang Mian was served hot. Noodles can be firmer but it’s ok. Minced Pork mixed with chinese dry mushroom was also good. Beef hotpot taste is light not heavy in clean soup.

The hot and sour soup base was very traditional, the amount of ingredients given was also very generous. It was overall a great experience with the ac operating!!

Stumbled open this little restaurant by accident taking shelter from the rain and wow wow was it good. I'm a vegan so I got the szechuan vegetable hot pot and it was incredible, very flavoursome and szechuan flavour profile was on point! Definitely will be coming back again. Price wise it was great value!

From the minute we were welcomed in , without a reservation, to the minute we left, it was an amazing experience. I always think it’s a special restaurant when you can’t make the same thing at home, and the food we ordered was perfection. The menu is so well thought out and the drinks , even though we chose the non alcoholic ones (they do have alcoholic beverages) were so delicious. The service was top notch and everyone who worked there seemed to be happy to be there which is an important thing when dining anywhere. The people that bring you your food and cook your food have vibes that make for the overall experience and I must say it was a top notch experience and great food.

Great fusion of Indian and Chinese cuisine. We had the salt and pepper prawns and onion bhaji to start which were delicious. I highly recommend the Szechuan pork and the chicken chow mein received a glowing reception too. The pomegranate margarita was unreal too. Big shout out to Ned, our waiter who was really helpful.

Excellent food, great atmosphere, top service . The food is a nice fusion of Indian and Chinese dishes. My wife is a huge dim sum fan and said the dim sum here was amazing. We also tried the Chilli Paneer, Onion Bhaji’s, Pak Choi, Chicken noodles & Popadum. All were tasty and well cooked.

Excellent food, so very tasty and flavourful. The Peshwari naan was so amazing that we had to order an extra portion. The service was more than brilliant with lovely, chatty staff who answered any questions and were always on the ball ! A lovely birthday meal spent here, and we will be back again soon. We went as it was one of the 'great places to eat in Bristol'. It didn't disappoint! Fab all round and we'll definitely be back

The initial look of Wongs makes you think that this is going to be a good experience. The chinese background music is calming, the interior is lovely, even though the tables and chairs are built for giants. The service is friendly and efficient . That's where it all stops!!! Wongs is like a man with a sock down his pants or Tottenhams stadium, impressive visually but once you get past the looks and sparkle it's a total let down. I can honestly say it's the worse Chinese food in a restaurant I have had and you can't include the prawn crackers in that because they are bought in. The sweet chilli sauce is watered down, the steamed dumplings were soggy and watery like they were boiled and everything tasted stale. I know that sounds harsh but when you pay nearly £12 for some noodles and bean sprouts you expect it to be fresh, tasty and enjoyable not oily and greasy, I always judge things on cost and Wongs is not cheap. It's such a shame because the staff are great and the setting is lovely. My advice to Wongs owner is sack your chef. If you want decent traditional chinese food you can go to Nice Spice which is a 1 minute walk from Wongs. Not as flashy but good food and not expensive.

We ordered from Wong's using UberEats on 3rd of March 2021. The quality of the food was good and the order was here fairly quick. We ordered Black Bean Sauce Beef, Sweet and Sour Chicken, and Lemon Chicken + 1 Egg fried rice. I must say the quantity was okay for 2 people but i rated this as 4 stars due to the price. It's on the £££ especially when considering its a take away and you don't get the service and setting of the restaurant... 42£ was a bit much.

Had a great meal at Wong’s on Denmark Street. The food was absolutely delicious – super fresh and full of flavour. We had the crispy duck and black bean beef, and both were spot on. Staff were friendly and the vibe was relaxed but still felt special. Portion sizes were great too – left feeling full and happy! Definitely one of the best Chinese spots in Bristol. Will 100% be coming back.

Went for a birthday meal and the restaurant was excellent. Love the decor of the restaurant and the food was brilliant and is an authentic taste of Chinese cuisine. The Lady here is such a nice person! I love eating here with my partner, because: 1. The food is really nice. 2. We always sit by they window as it seems people just order via uber. I would eat in the restaurant, nice calm atmosphere, and the lady that is always there is a sweetheart!

The staff here are so lovely! I dined alone and got number N6 with extra tofu and chilli and a smoothie to wash it down! Great for vegans like me! the portions are big and the food was really really tasty. The staff made me feel very welcomed and made an effort to talk to me! I’ll be coming back next time i’m in Bristol :-)

Wow !! Is all I can say. What a beautiful selection of food. I can understand why the locals rave about this place it’s absolutely stunning. This has to be one of the best places in Bristol. I have eaten in the past few days and I will definitely come back as there’s so much more on the menu. The staff were really welcoming and friendly and gave us advice on different blends of flavours. We overstayed our time a little bit and they weren’t pushy and were actually very friendly. A big thank you to all the staff there I cannot wait to return.

Food was ok. Nothing special. Tofu ball main was overly sweet. Bean curd starter would have been better with a dipping sauce. Coconut pancakes were ok but bits felt barely cooked. Wood ear mushrooms in different tofu main were the highlight of the whole meal… Food had been heated in the microwave - could hear it ring, and the food was way too hot in temperature. Mains served too quickly after starter - served as we were still finishing the starters. Overall rather disappointed as this was a recommended spot for good vegan food in Bristol! Maybe it was an off night ?…

This restaurant has a quiet and modest front, and you'd be forgiven for not thinking much when you walk past, but you'd also be gravely mistaken. We tried set menu B. All the food we had was excellent, but in particular the crispy lamb pancakes were inspired. The staff were so attentive and kind. Always asking us whether we were ready for the next course. We never felt rushed. At the price point this might be the best Chinese in Bristol.

We booked this restaurant for our anniversary as we wanted to eat Chinese. We thought to give this place a try as we never heard or tried this place before. When we walked-in it didn't look that great from outside and it's well hidden too. But when we went inside we were warmly welcomed and given seat next to the fish tank. It was nice for them to give us a table which is a bit better and different for our anniversary. Food quality was good and portion size was generous. I really enjoyed their chow main and crispy aromatic duck. Overall it's a nice place with delicious food and service is good.

Booking was quick and informal via telephone even on a Saturday evening. Easy to understand menu. Chef specials are hidden at the back tho. Service efficient and speedy. Dishes are tasty and big.

One of the best restaurants I've been in the UK! Staff was so friendly and the food was INCREDIBLE! 10/10. If I'm ever in Bristol again I will definetely want to go back! I highly recommend the vegetable soup!

The food was excellent, the flavours were great and the showmanship with the sizzling king prawns was unexpected but amazing. Service was prompt and we were well catered too. The staff took extra care to listen to my partners allergy requirements and provide clarification to ensure safety and satisfaction. The atmosphere however leaves a little to be desired. Feeling somewhat dated, it struggles to create the cozy atmosphere it tries to imply. This isn't to say it's bad, but small details such as paper tablecloths, plastic chopsticks and ambient lighting could be improved upon. The fish tank was a fun unexpected bonus though. Overall a great restaurant, where you can enjoy some seriously good food away from the chaos of the city. Dishes may be on the pricey side, but you get great value for money.

First time visit as passing. Went for takeaway. Super friendly waiter staff,ten min wait.Was £5 more than my local but it was very tasty and beef was not stringy or chewy.I would definitely visit again. Had a free bag of prawn crackers and pot of curry sauce.

The staff were all really friendly and helpful. Definitely will visit again and order takeaway from here. I had a great experience at this buffet restaurant today! There was a wide variety of food options, from fresh salads and hot dishes to a selection of live cooking stations, which really made the meal more enjoyable. Everything was well-presented and kept fresh, and I especially appreciated the dishes being cooked to order right in front of you. The quality of the food was impressive, and the flavors were delicious across the board. The staff were also friendly and attentive, which made the overall experience even better. So far, this is the best buffet I’ve had in the UK – great value for money and definitely worth a visit. I’ll be coming back again!

This was my second time visiting the restaurant and I had a great experience at this buffet restaurant. There are a variety of food cuisines available like salads, Indian, Chinese , Mexican, desert. There are live counters on most of the cuisines where you can get your food hot served. The quality of the food, atmosphere was very good and the staff were very friendly too. I will visit again

This far exceeded my expectations. The quality of the food considering it caters for the masses was excellent. Lots of choice for vegetarians. You have to get a ticket from the desk on the ground floor before going upstairs to wait to be seated. This isn’t clearly signposted and the person on the desk key is walk straight upstairs where we queued for 10 mins to be told to go back downstairs first. The noise level is a lot. It’s a busy place but the music makes it hard to enjoy a conversation. Overall, great value, would return.

There was an amazing selection of food ranging from Chinese to Mexican to Indian etc. The Chinese section was unreal and so was the Indian and the chicken. There were quite a few foods that we were appalled by, for example the deadly, radioactive Mac & cheese… looks can be deceiving to say the least, pasta station wasn’t too good either, the variety was good but the execution not so much. The desserts were lush a highlight being the sticky toffee pudding and chocolate fountain. In terms of atmosphere all was good. The lady that took our drinks order was very pleasant, however the customer service of the live chefs was poor, and felt hostile. Also disappointed there were No tacos 💔 Come here if you want a full stomach but don’t expect amazing quality.

Just visited this restaurant and had an amazing experience! The food was worth every penny spent, with a wide variety of options to choose from. The dessert selection was impressive! Note that drinks aren't complimentary, so keep that in mind. It can get a bit crowded, but that's a testament to its popularity. Highly recommend visiting with friends and family. Bon appétit! 🍴👌

This place is bonkers (in a great way!) We visited mid week (but during half term) and it was extremely busy. We booked a table for 12:00 when it opened and there was still a queue of people waiting to get in. When we left at around 1:30 there were approximately 200 people waiting to get in. The food is better than I was expecting and was always very fresh and hot regardless of the 'zone' that I was choosing food from. The bar offers a good range of drinks options and the cocktails that we bought were very good. When we visited, the cost for lunch was £13.99 a head, this seemed very good value indeed. Definitely worth a visit but make sure that you book in advance ........

I had a lovely evening here. The staff were so friendly, helpful and accommodating. The menu is flexible, and the dishes can be customised. The food was delicious. I had the Pad Thai, and it was lovely. The dishes arrive separately, so if there is a group dining, some dishes might take longer to arrive.

My go-to place for dinner; I’m in here more than I’d like to admit. The staff recognize me at this point and I recognize all of them too lol. I always get either the chicken teriyaki donburi bowl (£14.50) or the chicken yakitori skewers (£8.5) with a side of rice (£3), and the occasional tea-stained egg (£1). I don’t know if the tea-stained egg is supposed to have a specific tea flavor to it, but it just tastes like a regular egg. I’ve never had authentic Japanese cuisine, and I think wagamama itself isn’t even fully Japanese as it has other Asian influences on the menu, but for my personal taste I like the food. Prices are relatively reasonable and the portions are big. I sometimes get the smoked caramel chocolate ganache cake served with one scoop of vanilla ice cream (£7.50), be aware that they will charge you extra for another scoop. However it’s really good! I’ve never had “smoked” chocolate but it really does taste smoky? I don’t know how to describe it but it’s definitely very delicious.

So far it was the worst experience we have ever had in Wagamama Restaurant. Usually the food tasted delicious, but at that time, absolutely opposite of it. The atmosphere as usual, we don't really like it (sharing tables with other people, noisy, etc). One good experience (that deserved 5-star) was Jack. He served us really well, and friendly. Wheelchair accessibility is available. Toilet for customers is available.

I love Wagamama because it’s basically the definition of “feel-good food” — like a hug, but with noodles. The staff? Brilliant. They always have time for a bit of friendly small talk, which makes me feel like I’ve joined some kind of cheerful, delicious cult (and I’m totally fine with that). The food is a mystery in the best way. Sometimes I try to guess the ingredients or calculate the nutritional value, but the real magic must be hiding somewhere deeper… maybe in the genius loci of the place. Or maybe they just sprinkle in an extra pinch of happiness. Either way, I keep coming back for more.

Always a good place when you’re craving for some asian taste, but I believe they could have done better with the menu. Also, been here for a couple of time, the noodles were always overcooked :( apart from that, all good

Been here with my fiancée as she loves Asian food. The food was amazing, reasonably priced and quite authentic for a chain restaurant. The atmosphere was very relaxed and the service was very prompt with friendly waters. Lucky Buddha was surprisingly good! Definitely recommend 👌🏻

I’ve been wanting to try this place for awhile now and I’ve finally had the chance while out with some friends. The food was really good, I had their Spare rib hotpot with house noodles and level 2 spice. The noodles were delicious and very filling with great flavour in every bite. As a person who can really handle spice, I really should have gone a higher level because 2 was way too mild for me. Luckily they had chilli oil on the table to add to my noodles. I also had a hot green tea, which was delicious and great in flavour. There wasn’t any service which explains my rating, but the noodles came out incredibly quickly and I was very pleased with that. All in all a great place to stop for some quick noodles & I’ll definitely be back!

Chili Daddy is a fantastic, authentic Chinese restaurant in Bristol! It’s small with limited tables, but definitely worth the wait for a seat. The food is excellent — don’t underestimate the hot sauce or dishes marked with chili symbols, they pack a real punch! 🌶️ The beef dishes are incredibly tender, and everything tastes freshly prepared and full of flavor. A must-visit for anyone who loves authentic Chinese cuisine with a kick! 🥢

Absolutely scrumptious food for a great price and on Wednesdays you get a free drink! The portions are very generous! Be warned the spice levels are quite strong. I got the tofu hot pot noodle (with potato noodles) and my partner got the tofu hotpot Saozi nooodles

The food is delicious and comforting, perfect for a cold evening. It’s lovely to sit by the window and watch the rain fall outside as you enjoy a huge bowl of spicy noodles. The prices are low so you fill your belly without breaking the bank.

It's a self-service restaurant. The noodles are not delicious and the broth is too weak. I ordered a dish of mouth-watering chicken. It's just some dry chicken without skin covered with lettuce.

The restaurant is extremely cold—everyone inside is wearing jackets while eating. We decided to try this place because of the picture on their sticker. A layered bun is quite rare, and we were really excited to have it. Unfortunately, what we got was a regular bun, not layered, and the flavor was quite weak. The bun was so dry that we ended up dipping it in the dumpling sauce just to make it more enjoyable. When we asked the staff why the bread was different from the one advertised, they explained that some ingredients couldn’t be shipped here, making it impossible to create the layered bun. They even said that if we came back in a few years, more ingredients might be available, and they could make it then. Honestly, that just sounds like a bad excuse.

The noodles we ordered are authentic and delicious and in large portions. The meat is soft and juicy. Will definitely return for this one.

Ordered Stewed Beef with Sweet Potato Noodles (which I think the name is). You have to order by QR code on the table which is convenient. You can choose the spice level and I chose Level 4 out of 5. It shocked me at first to see the clear soup with chili paste on it but after mixing it well, it was okay. The soup is not only spicy but also a bit sour which I like. You can add more veggies toppings which I did not so there were only bean sprouts, coriander and spring onions. The portion was massive but I wish the dish originally included more veggies like bokchoy. Two noodle dishes and one fried squid cost around £30 for two people.

We popped in for a small dinner on my last visit to Bristol. Sampled all the Bao buns and my only wish was that I could have eaten more, but we had a train to catch! I’ll definitely come back when I’m next in wapping wharf. Cocktails were yum too!

Style over substance for this place. It took 30 minutes for my bao bun to arrive, which was five minutes after my chicken satay. 30 minutes for one small boa bun is far too long. The bao bun was nice and full of different flavours, but slightly too much on the sweet side. The satay chicken was very very bland, and the sauce felt too thin and watery. The presentation was excellent and it all looked very pretty. The staff were friendly and nice even though I wasn’t given water nor asked how anything was. If I was given the chance I would have politely fed back there and then rather than writing a review. Cocktails were disappointing - the Kugo wasn’t particularly pleasant and could have done with a straw to stir as was very wine(y) + watery to begin with, before becoming too sweet at the end. The Ume highball was much nicer, but again a straw would’ve been nice. For the price, I would not say it was worth it, and would probably not recommend. Who knows - maybe I went on a bad day. SO good!!! The cauliflower Katsu curry was unreal! The ramen was delicious too, not a ramen fan but it was decent. Tasted as good as it like in the photo.

There was a limited menu running when we visited but the staff emailed beforehand as we had a booking so this was no problem. We both had ramen which was really tasty. Overall I had a great experience but I think the price would prevent me from coming back here other than on special occasions. Just a little too expensive for a casual meal. Staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly.

Chicken ball were more batter then Chicken. Prawn satay hardly any prawns. Crispy beef taste really sweet. Kids had some chips they were terrible. Took over an hour and a half to arrive. Definitely not worth the wait. Never again

A game of two half's tbf. Singapore chowmein was pretty nice and the sweet and sour chicken balls, they deserved 4 stars, service deserved a 5. However the Tom Yum Soup was lacking in flavour and the thing that knocked it down to a 3 is the fact I had to pay for prawn crackers because I spent under £25 but they were stale. Constructive criticism, if you charge thats fine but make sure it's good 👍

This was quite possibly the best Chinese takeaway I’ve ever had and will deffo be recommending it! Nothing tasted too greasy and even the fried food (chicken balls and prawn toast) didn’t feel too heavy. Really recommend the special rice.

It's been in our bucketlist for some time to try this restaurant but every time we passed by, it was always full. Until we went recently quite early on a Saturday. Fifteen minutes after being seated, the crowds began pouring in steadily. Talk about beating the crowd. Now we understand. This is one of, if not the best one we've tried so far specialising in roasted meats. Huge servings and authentic (it's almost like being transported to Hong Kong), very flavourful roasted duck and soy sauce chicken, as well as crispy pork belly cooked to perfection (all very tender and succulent). And its best-kept secret? Its home-made chili sauce! It's the perfect sauce for the dishes! Highly recommended and two thumbs up! Oh, and it helps if you see elderly Chinese ordering to-go -- a great sign you're getting the real deal. You just have to be patient when queueing up and plan your visit well.

I’ve been to this shop 3 times in the past two weeks. The first two times, there was a guy working, and he was really nice, he even let us pay by card. But today there was a girl at the counter, and her attitude was terrible. She told us we must bring cash next time, gave me less food than usual, and the pork even had a really bad smell. Totally not worth it. With service this inconsistent and the quality all over the place, it’s hard to trust them. Forcing people to pay only in cash or with WeChat/Alipay just feels unbelievable in 2025.

Used to enjoy takeaways from here, but the standard of food has dropped. The Chow Mein was greasy and flavourless, the beef in black bean sauce was just devoid of flavour. The crispy shredded chicken was more rubbery chewy chicken. Chips were also rubbery. A very disappointing experience.

I can't say much about the rest of the menu because I haven't tried it. We always order the same thing. Singapore Vermicelli and Deep fried Prawns in chilli garlic and salt. Its always excellent. Today I mixed it up a bit and got pork fried rice with extra veg, low soy, and asked them to spice it up a bit for me. They were totally cool with my special request and it was great as usual. I also want to add that my partner and I have been ordering from here for years. It has always been quick, friendly, and a good portion size for money.

The food is excellent, but the service is appalling. The last three times I've ordered my order has been cancelled due to them not having enough drivers. This would be fine if they cancelled the order right away, but each time it was 1 to 2 hours after I had ordered, and on one occasion they had actually told me the order was on the way before cancelling! This is unacceptable. I've been a loyal customer for five years, and they can't even do me the courtesy of telling me they can't fulfil my order within a reasonable amount of time. Having to wait hours only to have my order cancelled is absolutely miserable. I value my evenings and I don't like to give money to businesses who treat me like crap, so I won't be ordering again.

Absolutely horrible experience. Waited 2 hours for food asked where it was and they didn't know where the driver was, we asked for a refund and they refused. Located in King Street, one of the most vibrant streets in the city of Bristol. Good selection of beers, it is cosy during the week and busy through the weekend. A must is their Sunday Roast, absolutely delicious, great portions and in my opinion is one of the best quality/price in the city.

Great historic pub in Bristol. Always an excellent choice of locally produced Beers, Lagers, Stouts and Ciders, with a good rotation from local brewarys. The lunchtime food is good and their Sunday Roast is one of the best in Bristol.

I absolutely loved this pub! Plenty of room outside to sit and watch the world go by. Inside you'll find a fantastic range of beers and ciders available, all of which seemed to be well kept. The staff were all very friendly. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Bristol.

Surprisingly good Japanese restaurant in the centre of Bristol — high quality by UK standards. Sashimi Moriawase (16 pcs): Four types of sashimi — salmon, tuna, surf clam, and sweet shrimp. All were quite fresh. The salmon and tuna were thickly sliced, rich, and well-balanced in fat; tuna was firmer with no fishy taste. Surf clam was springy and slightly sweet, and the sweet shrimp were plentiful, soft, and fresh. Atsuyaki Tamago: Although not made with dashi, it was sweet, soft, and fluffy. Spider Roll: Crispy soft-shell crab inside with cucumber to balance the oiliness; topped with creamy avocado, tobiko, and mayonnaise for a satisfying mix of textures. Spicy Salmon Temaki: Slightly different from expectations — sauce was like the usual spicy salmon gunkan, and would be better if the salmon was diced, but still rich and tasty. The wrapping seaweed was a bit tough instead of crispy. Honey Yuzu Tea: A perfect pairing for Japanese food — sweet, tangy, refreshing, and soothing for the throat. There are also some lunch sets, set meals, bento boxes, etc. The choices are very diverse and the prices are relatively affordable, suitable for office workers or those who want to eat quickly.

I will be returning to try the sushi/sashimi as that looks like it's their specialty.

The restaurant itself is quiet and cozy, providing a perfect atmosphere for a relaxing meal. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, which made the experience even better. Two very good somewhat unique things were: Fresh shiso leaves with the tuna sashimi and grated white radish Grilled miso aubergine was soft with a light crispy skin and perfect miso layer.

food was pretty good! i got the chicken with ginger, similar to hainanese chicken rice and the ginger was super flavourful. but ratio of chicken to rice was a bit off, would have liked more chicken. the braised beef noodle was quite bland, but we loved the black pepper beef rice. have realised that the must get here is the 麻辣香锅 or large sharing pots instead of the ala carte items! very worth the money when shared with friends and very flavourful

Give the service charge to your employees who actually care for and serve your customers to keep your business open! Pure exploitative, greedy and unjust behaviour from the owner. It’s sickening. Absolutely delicious! This is now my go-to Chinese takeaway in town. I ordered: • Sweetcorn Soup : Hands down the best I’ve had locally. Rich, comforting, and full of flavour. • Malaysian Style Prawns :Really tasty, with a great balance of spices. • Singapore Thin Noodles: Fantastic! Has that authentic charred flavour that’s hard to find. • Indonesian Fried Rice : So delicious and satisfying. • Black Bean Tofu : Packed with flavour, beautifully cooked. Everything arrived hot and fresh. Highly recommend!

The worst food - used to be nice but now everything has a layer of orange oil across the top. The egg fried rice was a congealed slimey lump. I didn’t eat any of my order because it looked like food poisoning

Ordered via just eat last night. Gotta say the House special fried rice is the best I have ever had. They use a really nice sauce and this makes the difference for me! All the food was spot on and hot on delivery despite travelling across the city to deliver!

Staff were extremely friendly. I had king prawns with stir fried veg and egg fried rice and it was absolutely delicious. I would say that the large chips whilst a perfect portion for us might be a bit small for someone else, so keep that in mind if you’re feeding a few people. Otherwise, would definitely recommend and will be going back!

I am a regular customer and I have learned in that time which dishes are good and which are disappointing. Sadly there are inconsistencies creeping in even in the dishes they do well. For example, I ordered Beef and Green Peppers on Black Bean Sauce. What I got was Beef and Carrots - only one tiny square of green pepper! If they had been honest and told me they hadn't got any peppers, I would have ordered a different dish. Now I am disillusioned and that's another favourite off the shortlist.

Lovely gentleman on the phone, BUT unfortunately the egg fried rice wasn’t even fried im sure it was cooked rice, put in the microwave with an egg and mixed around and the chicken balls were very WERID inside really dark “picture to show” ,…… chips and sauces were nice but that’s not enough for me to go back sorry.

First time I normally go to Viens top of kellaway they are closed for holiday, and I don't like to be negative of our local businesses but chicken balls very doughy sweet and sour sauce like water sorry how can you get chips wrong under cooked.

I did wonder about this Chinese takeaway, the reviews are split between 1 star and 5 stars, who is right!? Well I think this is definitely closer to 5 stars, as Chinese takeaways go the food was delicious and well cooked, the Cantonese Duck I had was really good quality and the Chow Young rice others had suggested was a big portion full of various meaty bits. You can see from my photo I ordered a load of food (some of it was saved for the next day!) My only negative was that the prawn toast didn’t come with sweet & sour sauce, I didn’t realise this needed to be purchased separately... I get that costs have gone up so it’s fine if they want to charge extra for it, but please make it clearer on the menu! Eg: Prawn toast £7 Prawn toast with pot of sauce £9 Having said that it was a good size portion of prawn toast and as good as any I’ve had, if not better! (Sauce in the photo is just a blue dragon one from my fridge, it’s lucky I had some!) Overall though a good experience, I’ll be back to try more of their menu!

Very friendly and very quick. Also threw in a freebie as they didn't have what I wanted. There are one or two staple items I would expect to see which aren't there and the flavour of the food, while nice, was not massively vibrant. However, the service was excellent and the prices are very good. I would definitely go back there next time I wanted a Chinese, mainly based on the service and pricing.

They are the Chinese takeaway service. They only accept cash that's the down point but can grab cash from nearby SPAR. I liked this place among other I tried recently. You can ask them for the type of flavours you want.

My favourite local takeaway for the last 14 years I have lived in the area. Beef in black bean sauce, chilli and salt king prawns or chicken balls with curry sauce is my go to on a Friday night. The friendliest service possible.

We had the slow-cooked beef hot & sour soup noodles and the char siu pork hot & sour. The beef was incredible—so rich and flavourful! It was really delicious overall. It was my first time trying sweet potato noodles, though—they were quite slippery and a bit tricky to eat, so it felt a bit unusual for me.

The portion is massive compared to the price so please visit here completely empty stomach 🤣 Or you can also takeaway your unfinished food. But very authentic and loved the flavour. I had potato noodles with pork belly. Tasted divine. I don't think you need any side dish but if you have a good appetite then do try their dumplings too. They also serve hotpot. Ambiance is okayish. A little bit cramped. They have extra space upstairs. Also, they serve a bit slow because I think they get too many orders (both online and takeaway). Overall great Chinese restaurant and very pocket friendly ✨

Wow are the noodles amazing! The spicy Chinese soup base is packed full of that flavoursome type of heat. Mouth watering! And the noodles were the best texture I ever had. After the first bite, you know those noodles are cooked to a satisfyingly chewy texture. Need to check this place out if you want Chinese noodles! So legit.

Absolutely delicious noodle pots! I had the slow cooked beef (melt in mouth) with hot pepper noodles. It was so tasty and flavourful. Big portion size and great value. Going in there feels like you've just gone on holidays to China and it's a fully authentic experience. I cannot wait to go back and try some more. We were a table of 6 and all really impressed with our food.

Brisnoodel is one of my favorite spots to enjoy a warm bowl of soup. I’ve fallen in love with their hotpepper soup, which is hearty, flavorful, and warms you up completely—it’s truly comforting. The soups here are phenomenal! While I haven’t explored too many other dishes, I can wholeheartedly recommend the lamb cumin—it’s delicious and wonderfully aromatic. The owner is incredibly kind and has a lovely habit of recognizing his customers and remembering their orders, which is especially charming for a bustling city like Bristol with so many visitors. I really enjoy the atmosphere of this place. It’s also worth noting that the prices are very reasonable. If I lived closer, I might just be tempted to stop cooking altogether!

Three reasons you need to go to this restaurant. Super nice boss which is rare. Flavour is extremely good. The portion can make you full even if you have a big appetite.

So the overall taste was great! Everything except from the chicken was really great. The chicken had a flavor of a staled meat. It is very usual in places where they reheat cooked meat. The noodles and the rest of the ingredients was great though!

I tried this Chinese restaurant in Clifton, and it was a lovely experience. The restaurant has a charming garden area for outdoor dining, as well as stylish indoor seating. We ordered the stir-fried beef, which was delicious—though it would have been even better with a little less oil. The boneless crispy fried chicken was also very tasty, with a generous portion size. The dumplings were soft, flavourful, and cooked perfectly. The staff were friendly, and the overall atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Located in a beautiful part of Clifton, this restaurant offers a great combination of good food, a pleasant setting, and lovely service.

I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. The duck was overwhelmingly salty, and the lamb had a very strong, unpleasant gamy taste. The portions were also extremely small for the price. When I raised my concerns with the owner, they were rude and dismissive, insisting that the lamb was supposed to taste that way and refusing any refund or exchange. On top of that, they forcibly charged a service fee that could not be removed, despite the awful service. Their attitude was terrible, and the overall dining experience was disappointing. I would not recommend this place.

Very good environment and natural lighting. However we feel it is unnecessary to deep fry the aubergine and beans, not healthy! The steamed seabass was great. The beef quality was okay. Hope the restaurant will see this and improve them!

Very nice ambiance. They have authentic regional Chinese food. Huge menu which is classic of Chinese restaurant. Friendly staff. They do not hold back on spice so make sure you tell them how spicy you want your food. Highly recommended. Will definitely go back!

The food was good in the last year compare to the whole Chinese food in Bristol. The restaurant is clean and service is good. However, it went wrong in these few days. I had sweet and sour ribs last week. It was so weird, not even like sweet and sour ribs. I had stewed pork mince balls and dry-fried fine beans with minced pork this few days. They were too salty that I cannot even eat. I cannot believe these salty dishes can be served for customers.

I had such a great experience at Fresh Bakery! The food here is absolutely delicious – the Beef Brisket Rice Noodle Soup is full of flavor and comforting, while the spring rolls are perfectly crispy and tasty. As soon as you arrive, they offer you a warm cup of Chinese tea for just £1, which is a really nice touch. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the service is friendly and efficient. Just keep in mind that if you’re paying by card, there’s a 10% service fee, but if you pay cash, there’s no extra charge. Overall, it’s fantastic value for the quality of food you get. Food quality is so delicious and the price is reasonable. We ordered fried rice noodle with beef 乾炒牛河, steam beef balls 蒸牛肉and cha siu steamed vermicelli roll 叉燒腸粉. I really don’t know how come so many 5 stars? I had a disappointing dining experience at this restaurant. I used to frequent it for their crispy pork curry, which was always a treat. Since they changed to the dip sum, the food was simply awful and not at all fresh. Not only was it not good in taste, but it also came with a surprisingly high price tag. What the most disappointing thing is the service, no, actually they provided no service!

Food: The food was tasty and enjoyable and the amount was enough to fill my large male belly, though for the price (£14.40) the taste and amount felt underwhelming. Service: We were both given recommended alterations to our orders which we took. My friend then recieved his food (which was originally what I'd ordered) in about 3 minutes, and mine too I think about 25 minutes to arrive. As a result, my friend had finished their food before mine even arrived. We weren't made aware of this, we were simply left to wait. The recommended alterations to our orders were also not explained. We were also not made aware of the 10% service charge on card payments, and a mysterious 10% additional charge showed up on my payment, which wasn't explained. Atmosphere: The decor is wedding catering, but looks very second hand / pre-used. The music felt erratic and sometimes fit an apparent theme, sometimes just sounded like weird random selections, a lot of which I wouldn't consider dining music. Overall: Despite enjoying the food quite a lot, the very high price was completely unjustified in the poor service and venue quality. I'm fairly certain I'll never return here.

wow wow wow this place is SPECIAL. I have never had cheung fun with egg before but damn, that is a good brunch dish. The turnip cake was the best I have ever eaten. Truly they were made with love! The wonton soup broth was deeply flavourful, the wontons themselves were gloriously wrapped perfectly cooked balls of pure shrimp. Even the tea tastes better here. We don't live in Bristol but this place sure made us wish we did!

Stumbled across this place as I was walking through Cribbs Causeway. I love Chinese and Pan Asian food so this place definitely stood out. I liked the idea that the food was out and ready to be served as I was looking for a quick bite to eat. However, I was not happy with the quality of the food. The texture of the chicken was very rubbery, I began to question the realness of it. The food looked much more appetising that it actually was. The service was good and price not so bad. On the whole, a disappointing experience, won’t be visiting again unfortunately.

After reading through a few comments doesn’t seem it’s just me that have had the pleasure of the rude staff. Have been using chims for years, and have recommended a lot of people!!! Ordered what I usually order ‘salt and pepper shredded chicken’ have ordered this I’d say around 20times. When I got home to find out they had given me sweet and sour pepper chicken I rung them to notify them that there order was incorrect and they swore blind that they don’t do salt and pepper shredded chicken. So 1 they should have said this on the phone when we ordered (which they didn’t) and 2 instead of admitting fault and being polite, they accused me of threatening them because I said I was going to send them a picture of one of my previous orders, the salt and pepper shredded chicken that I’ve always ordered. Complete disregard for customer satisfaction, and will not be using Chims any more and will make sure I don’t advertise their food any more. Disgusting customer service. I’ll attach a photo of what I got ( ordered two of them) and one of what I usually order (and get) from the same Chinese. Rude staff and for the sake of refunding £9 something for your error, which wasn’t even offered you have lost numerous customers. Hopefully you’ll reevaluate your employment process if your staff are unable to take a simple order, and then not be capable of dealing with a complaint.

Rude service. Requested sweet and sour sauce for spring rolls and aggressively responded to say they don’t give sauce with spring rolls. Anyway, I ate half a spring roll on their premises…. which tasted absolutely awful… of OLD OIL, COMPLETELY saturated in oil that’s been over-used!!! I didn’t even know if I was meant to chew or swallow … as in swallowing a DRINK!! maybe a good thing I didn’t get the sauce to disguise the FOOD POISONING I was gifted with!! No point in explaining to people who are highly defensive on such a small level about providing condiments (hey I was ok to pay for it as an “extra”.)… if you can’t even get the basics right on customer service.. there’s no point in even having a conversation on food poisoning that took me out of work for 2 days!!!

We went to try the dimsum. Everything was good, but my favorite were the chicken feet and the salted egg bun. The sauce on the chicken feet was so rich. The salted egg lava inside the bun was out of this world.

When you arrive go up the stairs to the next floor to get to the dim sum restaurant; there appears to be a different restaurant on the ground floor. This place is wonderful; great menu, delicious food, friendly staff. They had all my favourites and then some: xiaolongbao, chicken feet, cheung fun and more! I recommend two to three dishes per person. They also have a non-dim-sum menu if you're feeling like something heartier - I loved the curried beef brisket, which came with rice and napa cabbage. I think this place is suitable for both adventurous eaters and people who like to play it safer. The menu has every dish in English and Chinese, with photographs for all dim sum dishes. Allergens aren't labelled, but when I asked about specific allergens (fish) they were very clear. They don't take bookings, but we didn't have trouble getting a table on a Sunday afternoon. I'm not sure if there's a lift, so I recommend calling ahead to check if you're a wheelchair user or have mobility issues.

Fantastic dim sum with a decent range of options. As someone who loves and frequents dim sum restaurants, I must say that they know how to make good prawns at this venue. Everything we’ve tried has been delicious and fresh. Their siu mai is quite good and their har gau is excellent. Our favourites are their prawn spring rolls + wontons, yeung chow fried rice and prawn cheung fan. Their prices could be a bit more affordable but they usually deliver in terms of good quality food and taste.

Every dish is very mediocre. The roast duck is not crispy; steamed pork short rib is too big and chewy; the beef in Beef Hoo Fan is too plain. And cash only.

Placed an order for the following Satay chicken skewers - Dry and tasteless chicken with a sauce that tasted like they had ran out of satay sauce so mixed in curry to make up for it. I can make a better satay sauce at home but couldn’t be bothered after a long day at work plus overtime. Crispy seaweed- Overcooked, tasted odd, too much sugar Egg fried rice- So dry it was like eating sawdust Chicken balls- Partner said they were dry, tasted dusty Chips- Not too bad but how hard is it to mess up chips? Overall I was really disappointed, only ordered as I had a £10 discount. Wish I’d have spent the extra tenner somewhere else. Vile. Won’t order again.

I'm not a lover of spicy food, but I really enjoy the food here. Regarding the dine in taste, everything is very good. I'll recommend this restaurant (dine in, not take away) if you'd like to try the Chinese spicy / tangy food. Btw, the staff of this restaurant are really friendly.

Lovely family run business. Staff were friendly and the service was fast. The bbq skewers were delicious and it was cool being able to watch them getting cooked on the grill outside. Portion sizes were large and we felt it was great value for money. For 4 people it was under £70 and we left feeling really full.

foreign friends love the dish, but I am only satisfied with the fish in hot chili oil. The fish is in a big portion even though fish is only on the top, the bean sprout under it is also very delicious. The noodle in the chicken sticks together. The yolk tofu tastes strange, I had thought it was very soft,tender with thick soup. The sweet and chili shredded pork is better than Wong, but not as good as I made...the beef is just the average level.

Eating buffet was super good, pork feet was amazing, bbq grilled need super delicious not to dry nor to fatty and seasoning was right on spot, mushroom and potato on stick super good seasoning. Definitely recommend to visit and get a reservation before hand. Staff is nice and food worth time.

Not good. Bland and watery sauce (ordered tofu with veg) Chewy soft crispy seed weed, felt like and tasted like it had been cooked a while ago. Won't be going back here. Such a shame we have to put up with high cost sub standard food options. A take away should be a treat, not a nightmare! The only thing going for it was speed... but that's probably because a lot of it was pre-cooked and heated up. Yuck!

Been a customer for over 3 years and suddenly they have gone downhill. Order took 2 hrs to arrive on a week night and the sauce which we have had many times before was awful. Found another Chinese now and they deliver within 20 mins

AVOID! Liars & Thieves! Placed an order through Uber Eats last night at 7.01pm, notified at 10.01pm that order had been delivered. NO DELIVERY!! Unable to contact shop as either constantly engaged or not picking up. X3 voice messages left & still nothing. Totally unacceptable & clearly happy to steal your money. Thankfully Uber Eats has refunded my money. If I could give no stars I would. I strongly recommend thinking twice before using this establishment.

Was disappointed tonight, made an order after not having a Chinese for months. The egg fried rice was a slimey brown congealed lump which was gross and off putting. Surely egg fried rice is one of the basics?!

I thought I’d treat myself to a Chinese takeaway, ordered via the JustEat app, the prices seemed a tad high but I decided to give it a try & I’m glad I did, the quality of the food matches the price (also it’s cheaper if you buy direct) good quality ingredients, I’ll be back to try more off their menu.

Very disappointed so last week we had ordered from here & it was a new local favourite for us, we enjoyed every part it was delicious, we ordered the same tonight, so (£100) spent in total, & the food was horrendous this evening, the egg fried rice was dark brown mushy slop with a horrible taste, the spring rolls was rock solid, chips were soggy. Aromatic spiced prawns were tasteless, sweet and sour chicken was chewy & couldn't eat it, seaweed was hard(cut your mouth hard) & had a funny taste, the only thing we were able to eat & enjoy with the chicken chow mein & curry sauce, very disappointed & I highly doubt we will order again, if the food quality was like last time we would of been regular customers but given the food we had this evening I would not reccomend.

Best Chinese take away for vegetarians that I've come across in Bristol. I first tried this place out about a year ago and it was ok but nothing special. Very impressed with how much they be upped the quality of the food and they delivered in just over 30 minutes on a Friday night. I will definitely be ordering from them again!

The website was on default, the company should get their website checked in if they cannot deliver to certain areas, in fact while ordering the food, it accepted the order and received a phone call saying they can’t deliver. They will have to refund or will have to come collect it but while asking for refund for the delivery, they just did not accept it.Instead offered spring rolls, it’s not about the money it’s about the level of professionalism and the inconvenience it caused us. When asked to speak to a manger, the lady decide to hang up the phone, the worst customer service. It definitely ruined the dinner and now wait for refund policy which takes 10 days as suggested by the lady. This was the most horrible customer experience ever received! Does not even deserve one star.

Avoid at all costs! Most unlike me not to check reviews before trying a new takeaway, wish I did. Worst food ever! Cold on arrival, veggie curry was like gravy with no taste. Chips were cold and dry. Thank goodness i did'nt have meat cos there is no way it would have been a safe temperature. You can't go wrong cooking this style of food. Definitely not returning. Take notice of your reviews, you need to up your game.

First time ordering food from this takeaway. Overall. Very disappointed. Crispy chili beef wasn't very spicy and was lacking any flavour. Lemon chicken was salty. And the sweet and sour want very sweet or sour, but very watered down and tasteless. Such a shame. Will not be ordering from here again. The star rating on Just Eat is massively overrated. Read the comments first!

First time I've used this takeaway and the last, Chips completely cold & stale, curry sauce was like slime, with no curry flavour at all. Crispy beef tasted gone off, and literally gave me the squirts. Hands down "THE" worst Chinese meal I've had in years. Completely rank. Going be the bad reviews I can see why too. Seriously if your not happy in your job sell up.

VERY POOR!!!!! I am really disappointed to be writing this as I've used this Chinese for along time and have mostly enjoyed the food, but the last 4 meals that I've had have been shockingly awful! The chicken and meat have been so dry and the spare ribs have been even dryer, it's almost like they have been using up the leftovers from the previous day! As I've enjoyed the food in the past I kept giving them another chance, but no more! I have rang them twice to complain, but all I got was 'I will let the kitchen know ' and was rushed off the phone, so their customer service is pretty rubbish as well. A takeaway is a treat and expensive nowadays, so you would expect it to be enjoyable! So, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone at the moment unless they change their chef!!!

Have ordered food from here for 7 years. I ordered 3 dishes & spring roll. Just taking the lids off the chicken chow mein & beef with pineapple i was hit in the nostrils with a smell of chemicals. The food tasted like cardboard, the beef was not fresh at all & had a greyish tint over it. The sweet & sour balls tasted stale, the s&s sauce wasn't sweet what so ever. I've never spat food out in my life but this was unpalatable. Sadly i shall not be a returning customer. Honestly, it's a waste of money & food.

We ordered via Just Eat and the food arrived promptly. Portion sizes were good and the food was still hot enough to eat. We ordered Malysian this time and the food was a bit spicier than I was used to be still fresh and tasty. Prices were normal although the vegetable side dishes were a bit pricier than other takeaways.

I would give them no stars if it was an option, meals cold, 25 minutes late, sweet and sour vegetable's were a joke a thin sauce you would struggle to identify as anything specific and probably half a raw carrot, a single chunk of pineapple and some partly cooked pepper and some huge onion chunks. I don't usually write reviews but this food was so appalling I want to warn others not to waste there money. Most of it ended up in the bin where it deserved to be.

The lunch deal and today’s special are amazing! The food feels fresh and has a homely vibe to it. Would definitely recommend:)

Popped in here for Friday Treat lunch - I'd walked past earlier in the week and had thought oo the lunch deal sounds good. So today I went in and was delighted I did. I picked up a lunch special of Szechuan Chicken with egg fried rice (large). It was delicious, really good portion, good value for money and service was speedy too. Staff very friendly. Nothing worse than spending a lunch time in a queue! Will definitely be back to try the roast meats & for lunch another Friday. If you are around Kingsdown & fancy a super tasty lunch, then I'd recommend.

Their lunch deals are super worth it. Got this roast meat (crackling pork) + rice for £6. You also get chili oil if you ask! They’ve also got a different lunch special that I must go back to try. Pork was tasty and cooked perfectly. The only thing I’d love is if the rice was boiled in chicken stock rather than plain rice (but that’s just me being nit picky). They do have an option for you to change the rice to fried rice for 50p. Might try that option next time.

It has been a much appreciated and loved stable establishment at St Michael's Hill. Can I please request that you start accepting card payments, without asking for an extra charge (£1) in line with most businesses circa 2025.

I came twice, but I didn't get anything. Google Maps said it was open, but the store was closed. Bad mood, and really tired to climb up from below. Can stores update their status in real time on Google Maps?

Very mid experience here, friendly staff but food below par. Bland flavours and a very westernised Chinese menu. None of the food that came out was very hot either and we were one of only 2 or 3 tables in the place, seemed to take a while too. Cocktails were on point though and a good 2 for 1 happy deal would recommend for drinks but not for food! The prawn toast had the absolute thinnest layer of prawn on, go to Mayflower if you want a proper tasty Chinese.

We had a great bottomless brunch yesterday. The food and cocktails were amazing. Special shout out to Tom and Charlotte who were very friendly and helpful. One of our party had a a nut allergy and they were especially accommodating

Visited on Sunday for bottomless brunch - £25.95 for a main and dessert, plus 90 minutes of cocktails and Prosecco which you can have at the same time. Would have preferred starter/main but thought brilliant value for money and couldn’t fault our server for keeping our drinks topped up. Would happily recommend.

Really wonderful restaurant with really friendly and attentive staff. The food was so delicious and felt really fresh. The cocktails were very tasty. There was a large variety of food and drink options. I felt very welcomed and taken care of. I would definitely come back!

What a stunning experience. Had a lovely early evening treat, pre-theatre. Their new menu is just amazing. I will definitely be coming here again. Very happy guest!

After an unsuccessful visit a couple of weeks ago we were invited back to try again and we had a lovely time. Tom our server was excellent and provided great service and we had a lovely meal. The music was great and the decor is modern and contemporary. The menu is not overly complicated and there are some familiar dishes along with Bao buns which seems popular at the moment. If you are looking for an authentic Chinese experience then that's not here, it's a more modern feel but a good spot for a pre theatre bite or drinks with friends. It's not the cheapest but it's a city centre location! The ladies toilet could do with some attention to bring it up to the standard of the rest of the place. Overall we enjoyed our visit and hope they continue to improve.

Lovely meal. Nice music and vibes. Lemon & coriander fish was really good. and the chicken thigh starter was really good too. We were served by Sue who was very welcoming and amazing
