University
The University of Bristol, established in 1876, is a prestigious multidisciplinary institution and a core member of the Russell Group. It holds a strong position among UK universities and is globally recognized for its academic excellence. The university boasts an elegant urban campus with prominent buildings spread across the city, offering an outstanding learning environment for students and staff. Additionally, it has made significant contributions to scientific research, producing 13 Nobel Prize winners.
My personal experience was wonderful at the University of Bristol. I studied postgraduate degree at Queen's Building. The teaching staff was beyond the excellence. The lectures were well organised and very informative. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. I particularly enjoyed my practical research experience. I gained significant hands on experience while I was studying here. My supervisor was excellent. He challenged me so much and pushed me into the limits. He inspired me so much. I am even considering to do a PhD. Despite I was initiallg not planning to do a PhD. It is a great university with excellent teaching staff. Thank you so much for providing me this unique and unforgettable learning experience. I highly recommend to study engineering at the University of Bristol.

The University overall is good. I'm not sure about the MSc Marketing Course, though. Felt it was very theoretical and research-oriented and unrelated to the current job roles. The culture is pretty good, involving many societies and conducting events featuring the global community. The Uni's Sports Centre occupies a large gym, and scheduled fitness activities throughout the week. The Uni houses cafes at three different locations along with vending machines providing refreshments, all of which are very expensive for a normal student. I didn't find the 'Career Services' very helpful as they mostly provided generic advice which can be easily accessed online. Libraries and study centres are outstanding in terms of resources, infrastructure, and academic support. Lastly, the breathtaking view and architecture add to the beauty of student life and attract students to spend more time on campus.

I have carefully studied the selection of process of international students for undergraduate cause specially for medical school of BU and found it has been really bias. They give more priority for minority applicants than the applicant with high adamic records with extracurricular achievements. We do not accept unfair practice which would not doubt affect the reputation & rating of the university. I do not recommend this university for high performing candidates.
Upali K — Google review
Its a legacy institution and outdated in its programme - at least at the undergraduate level of study. The amount paid represents a barrier to entry rather than any sort of indication around quality of teaching. I would encourage anyone looking to study here to have a look at apprenticeship degrees, which give you practical experience alongside the coveted piece of paper. Teaching wasn't great for the most part, online resources are severely lacking - no standardised format for unit formatting, which makes revision difficult, and they gate-keep access to past exam papers with solutions (or neglect to provide them across the board). 9500 pa or 27000 pa for international students, and they can't provide a simple pdf to aid in enabling you to study independently.
Luke L — Google review
This university completely disregards applicants mental health. My daughters offer was placed on hold for 5 months, until April when it was rejected one month before the start of exam season. Rejecting applicants is understandable, but one month before exams whilst everyone is under so much stress and pressure shows the complete disregard this university has for the mental health of its applicants. This has happened to many applicants this year, and I believe it also happened last year, and it will happen next year as well. No other university does this

As an American student, I enrolled in the MSc Project Management program at the University of Bristol because of its strong academic reputation, advertised diversity, and collaborative learning environment. However, my experience was not what I expected. On the first day of class, I immediately noticed that nearly all of my classmates came from the same background — which in itself was fine — but I quickly realized that none of them spoke English proficiently. Out of approximately 50 students, I was the only one who spoke fluent English. Every conversation required a translator, and most students communicated exclusively in Chinese. By the second day, it became even clearer that communication would be a major barrier. Students were asking questions in Chinese, which had to be translated into English for the instructor. This made it incredibly difficult to engage in the discussions and collaborative activities that are essential in a project management program. I reached out to Student Services to express my concerns, but I was told there was nothing they could do. The program staff suggested that I work independently — which defeats the purpose of a degree built on teamwork and collaboration. I chose the University of Bristol because I believed it valued diversity, inclusion, and academic excellence. I never expected that after moving across the world, leaving my family, and investing so much in my education, I would have to withdraw because my peers could not communicate in English at an English-speaking institution. This school is undeserving of the reputation it has built. It advertises an international and inclusive learning environment, but in reality, it is neither. For anyone seeking a truly diverse, English-speaking, and collaborative academic experience, I would strongly caution against enrolling at the University of Bristol

I had to leave my MA Law course. The main problem was the way it was introduced to frist-time law students it was driven by academic acceleration, fast talking and many students were complaining about how the law course was structured. I felt like I was been taught by a fast-talking auctioneer at the start of the introduction leaveing the entire classroom confused to what was happening. Everything was put online expecting frist-time law students to understand complex legal concepts at the very start of the course. I felt the law course was deilberatelty rushed aganist time for some reason leaveing a lot of students disorientated. I remember at least several students asking the one of the two professors to stop talking so fast that they could not understand him at all. I just remember one professor going on about how great he was as a barrister while talking about his love for Boris Johnson on stage??? The other professor was allways arguing a on about how he hated Brexit all the time. The introduction to MA Law was like ChuckleVision at the start I had no clue what was happening in the frist couple of weeks of public law. Students were never shown how to use Blackboard from the start either as a person with dyslexia I found it hard to understand how to use this system without begin shown by a member of staff. Many students were even complaining that it was rather difficult to find the coversheet. Nevertheless, when I finally found the coversheet I felt that the coversheet was hidden behind a digtial wall of information. One student on the course even complained that it had taken him at least 15-minutes to find the coversheet found on the Blackboard system. I found this digital tool known as 'Blackboard' very exasperating to use. I have used other student digital systems in the past such as Canvas that I personaly found way more unchallening and as easy as falling off a log than Bristols Blackboard. However, the students at Bristol were more helpful in finding rooms they were more than happly to show me where the most of the rooms were located. The Bristol App used to check-into one's classes was also malfunctioning on a daily level I started to panic for the first couple of weeks due to the system not picking up that I was registered as a student at Bristol. This gave me a lot of panic attacks when it failed to register my existence. Self-promotion was also identified as most of the reading materials were posted online, including blog articles written by the professor teaching us. I mostly like to learn from physical books, not online stuff such as blog articles written in cryptic legal language. There were only three physical books you could take out from the Bristol library, but the supply was limited. Law students are told to go do there IRAC model. The only trick is that the model on how to framework this model is missing. Law students are instructed to utilise the IRAC model; however, the reading material on how to apply this IRAC model is missing. Where are the books or journals? I asked a professor for help during contact law office hours and said, "I know how to apply cases from the reading to the rule and application." "But, how do I framework them into the IRAC model?" The response was: "Just do your IRA thing, IRA, do your IRA one." Was this a trope at my Irish nationality? IRA? it's pronounced "IRAC." I asked for help due to my dyslexia requirements at the start of September. However, it arrived via Zoom in November. I asked for an in-person, one-to-one interaction with my dyslexia tutor. Sadly, most of the legal concepts and law cases just passed over my head by the time it arrived. I did try my best to keep up with the work, though. It was like trying to climb up a Sisyphean mountain for weeks and weeks while trying to find support for my dyslexia, going back and forth to the disability office with only two people sitting in an almost empty office. Just use ChatGPT to write your essays, said the learning disabilities supervisor!

The University of the West of England (UWE) is a vast educational institution with top-notch facilities and a sustainability approach to everything they do, from building to lectures. The campus offers a multicultural environment with various amenities such as gyms, restaurants, football and basketball courts, along with a large robotics lab. Additionally, it boasts the largest solar-powered building in the UK. The staff at UWE are known for their dedication to meeting students' needs promptly.
Sure! Here’s a 202-word post about your visit to Uwe: “Today, I had the privilege of visiting Uwe, and what a beautiful way to spend a Saturday! The experience was both refreshing and inspiring, reminding me of the beauty of slowing down and connecting with my surroundings. I did some dancing videos and the pictures were so photogenic. The air felt cleaner, the scenery was breathtaking, and every moment seemed to whisper peace into my soul. Walking through nature reminded me how much we often take for granted. The stillness of the environment gave me time to reflect, recharge, and refocus on what truly matters. It’s easy to get caught up in the busyness of life, but moments like these remind me of the importance of stepping back, taking a deep breath, and soaking in the goodness of creation. There’s something special about being away from the noise, hearing the birds, and feeling connected to the earth. As I leave Uwe today, I carry with me a renewed sense of gratitude and calm. Saturdays like this are a gift, and I’m so thankful for the opportunity to experience it. If you ever need a place to unwind and recharge, I highly recommend a visit to Uwe. Let nature speak to you—you won’t regret it.

Dropped off my grandson as he is doing a degree here, the accommodation is clean and tidy and a really good set up, the place is vast but could do with more maps around the area, the little helpers in their vests directing us were friendly, nice and very helpful, shame about the security who seem to be up themselves, the place is sign posted well as you come off the motorway which is helpful as well!

As a UWE graduate, it’s only when I entered the corporate world that I saw the power of the brand. UWE is not a brand or a prestigious university - don’t share my regrets, aim higher and work harder at school. Get a degree from a far more reputable university for the same price.

It is a lovely place to study and all the staff do their best to meet the expectation. It is a great honour to study here and work here as well. UWE is a home far from home

During the Stuart or English Baroque period, significant urban expansion took place in Bristol. Notable mansions like Kings Weston House and Goldney Hall were built, showcasing architectural grandeur. The responsibility of caring for the poor and destitute fell on institutions such as Colstons and the Merchant Venturers Almshouses. The development of King Street, located outside the city's "Back Street Gate," was accompanied by establishments like the King William and Naval Volunteer Public Houses.
As a Bristol wedding photographer, I’ve had the pleasure of capturing several stunning weddings at Goldney Hall, and I can confidently say it’s one of the most enchanting venues in Bristol area. Located in the heart of Clifton, Goldney Hall effortlessly blends historic elegance with modern comforts, making it the perfect setting for couples who want a beautiful, intimate, and memorable wedding day. From its gorgeous gardens to the exceptional service and in-house catering provided by Parsnip Mash, this venue is a dream come true for both photographers and couples alike. Every wedding I’ve photographed here has felt unique and special, and it’s easy to see why so many couples choose Goldney Hall as their wedding venue. This venue is truly a photographer’s dream and an unforgettable place for any couple’s wedding day. I look forward to photograph here again. - Martin Dabek Photography

Nice grotto and grounds to view, although the grounds are not very large vut large for a city dwelling, but you can only view if you are holding a function there, seem to have a nice wedding venue, worth checking out if you want somewhere different to get married .
Andy B — Google review
Very beautiful place to have a wedding or any event. Nice beautiful gardens. Historical budings including an old grotto that was build with over 20 different shells brought in from the Carabian. Although it does look beautiful, I feel sorry for the damage done to the coral reef. But I guess back in the day, they didn't know any better. We attended a wedding here and it was spectacular. You don't need to do much to dress it up with flowers etc because the place is already beautiful with the gardens and trees. The staff were nice and very attentive to detail. They went out of their way to make sure they met our requets. If you have a reason to celebrate with family and friends then this is the place for you. Shout out to the lady who gave us the tour and the historical background of the grotto. Even people in Bristol were shocked that it existed. Make it a point to visit if you can.

This a Bristol university halls of residence based in Clifton and set within the most stunning grounds. I live here for 3 years as a student of the university and absolutely loved it. Great sense of community in a great location and lovely little self catering flats. Absolutely the best halls at Bristol when I was there. Visited recently as a walk down memory lane and salt no thing had changed in the student accommodation which now looks pretty tired 13 years later.

I lived here for a year, and it was amazing. What an accommodation!!! The grounds are beautiful and the rooms are of a decent quality. I wasn’t expecting uni accommodation to be a wedding venue as well, so was happily surprised.

The Clifton Suspension Bridge, a stunning creation by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, elegantly stretches across a dramatic urban river gorge. This iconic structure not only showcases remarkable industrial design but also embodies the rich history of Bristol's engineering feats. My journey to understand this landmark began in 2010 when I explored the area with my camera in hand, eager to capture its essence.
The views are breath taking. This is such a beautiful bridge and part of Bristol’s culture. The structure of this bridge is amazing. The surrounding areas are beautiful. The Observatory is nearby. This is definitely worth a visit if you are in Bristol.

Fab views, easy to walk across and you can see birds of prey diving and hunting from the end. There is a free museum that tells you all about Brunel and the bridge - we didn’t go but it looked interesting. £1 for cars to cross but free for foot passengers.

A must do when visiting the Clifton Suspension Bridge is visiting it by foot. There is a great walk from the river going up (you have to cross a busy road, but it is worth it as you see the bridge from different heights and angles. There is a digital tour with lots of information, download recommended!

Before sharing my review, I want to acknowledge that the Clifton Suspension Bridge, despite its beauty, has sadly been the site of tragic losses. That’s why it’s so important to remember that help is always available. The Samaritans can be reached 24/7 at 116 123, with compassionate people ready to listen and support you through any situation. Remember, you matter, and the world is brighter with your smile in it. The Clifton Suspension Bridge is truly a sight to behold. Its beauty is breathtaking, especially when viewed from afar with the Avon Gorge beneath it. The bridge is steeped in history, having been designed by the famous engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel and completed in 1864. Walking across the bridge is free, and it gives you an incredible perspective of the surrounding area. Driving over it costs £1.50 for cars, which feels fair considering its importance. Visiting at night is especially beautiful with the lights turned on, creating a magical atmosphere. The bridge is not just a stunning piece of architecture, but also a vital link for transportation in the area and a symbol of Bristol itself.
Ayyub C — Google review
We walked 40 minutes on a rainy day to see the Clifton Bridge and it was well worth it. The views were spectacular and the bridge itself a feat of engineering, fascinating.
Claire Ģ — Google review
Love our visit to the bridge! However, the drive up to the bridge was a tricky one for me. Narrow two way roads with cars parked either side, with lots of sharp u-bends. Once at the destination we were lucky enough to find parking on the street (i felt we were lucky with that space). Parking cost almost £7 via the RingGo app- I’d advise to download this beforehand as we had poor phone signal which made it difficult. Walk to the bridge is short and once there incredibly impressive. The walk across is only open on once side at the moment due to maintenance on the other side- regardless, the view is a great one! Walked back over to then take the short walk up to the observatory tower for a much better view of the bridge (in my opinion). The observatory has a cafe and a cave for another different view of the bridge. Apart from the last 10 min drive up to the bridge and paying for parking, it’s brilliant. Exactly what it says on the tin and a beautiful scenic walk and view. Highly recommend!
Victoria T — Google review
Passed through the bridge on the way to Wales. It's a nice piece of history and in good weather offers a nice view along with being able to marvel at the engineering. The area is nice and there are coffee shops close by. If you drive over you have to pay £1

A Timeless Icon of Engineering and Beauty – Clifton Suspension Bridge Clifton Suspension Bridge is more than just a way to cross the Avon Gorge—it’s a breathtaking symbol of Bristol’s heritage and ingenuity. Designed by the great Isambard Kingdom Brunel, the bridge seamlessly blends 19th-century engineering brilliance with stunning natural surroundings. From the moment you approach, the views are simply unforgettable. Whether you’re walking across or gazing from the Clifton Observatory, the panoramic sights of the gorge, River Avon, and surrounding countryside are spectacular at any time of day. Sunset, in particular, casts a golden hue that transforms the entire scene into something magical. The bridge itself is an architectural marvel. Elegant and enduring, it continues to function as a vital crossing while drawing visitors from around the world. There’s also a small Visitor Centre nearby, offering insight into its rich history and the challenges faced during construction. Whether you’re a tourist, photographer, history enthusiast, or just someone looking for a quiet spot to reflect, Clifton Suspension Bridge delivers. It’s not just a bridge—it’s an experience.

Brunel's SS Great Britain is a remarkable museum ship that once held the title of the longest and first ocean liner in the world from 1845 to 1854. Designed by the brilliant Isambard Kingdom Brunel for transatlantic voyages between New York and Bristol, this iconic vessel has been beautifully restored since its near ruin in the 1970s.
Must must must visit if you are in Bristol - specially if you have never been on a ship before. I was very excited to see this ship and I absolutely enjoyed my visit. Love how the ship is maintained and turned into a fun interactive exhibit. I found it very fascinating. You can get an annual pass with the ticket, so I visited twice. During my first visit, I was lucky to watch a live play that was enacted, with the staff all dressed up in Victorian attire. They also interacted with us in the ship. The kitchen set up in the ship was the best part for me with every tiny detailing bringing it to life. The occupied toilet was hilarious and unexpected. You could easily spend 2-3 hours feeling like you're on a real voyage.

It was a great experience! The museum is absolutely stunning, especially the ship with the realistic figures — it truly takes your breath away. The lady dressed in the old-fashioned gown was amazing! I’ve visited the place twice, and each time I discover something new. Don’t forget to explore under the ship — I did that on my second visit — and above the ship, which I saw the first time. Totally worth visiting! 🚢✨

We visited here two years ago and wer impressed then, this visit did nothing to diminish that feeling. We really enjoyed the history of the Historic Dockyard and the SS Great Britain. The staff and volunteers are amazing and really friendly, plus the information they provided us was really interesting. The way it is layed out was very fluid allowing you to see an experience the life of this ship and the LIfe of Brunel. A must see when you visit Bristol.
Mark C — Google review
Haven't been here for years but it's certainly worth a visit now. The last time I went I think the ship's hull was still open to the elements, it's now contained within a temperature controlled environment. They've done an excellent job with the museum and the continuing restoration of the ship. The ship's been 'dressed' brilliantly too! A fantastic experience!
Chris K — Google review
You like ships and you enjoy history, so you're visiting right? Do, its worth it. Start in the shop, worth a peruse, then down and walk around the hull but with a little twist, you're under water or are you...? Worth mentioning, very humid in here but needs to be. Then, into the main museum and the history, not going to spoil the story here but interesting. Wind your way up and then onto the ship itself. Apparently, could house up to 700 passengers, good luck working out where they all slept! All in all, very enjoyable and would definitely bring the grandkids next time. Enjoy!
David T — Google review
The ship and the man behind it are a very interesting historical story. The site covers both super well. It is easily one of the historical sites in Bristol. Be sure to check out both sides of the museum and the movie. Also be sure to ask about live presentations. They really add a lot of backstory.
Alan J — Google review
Awesome museum with friendly knowledgeable staff. The ship itself is an awesome sight to see and the information provided by both the museum and the Brunel museum really helps you approacciate how revolutionary his vessel was at the time and see the genius of it's designer. A fine example of British engineering at its best. Access to the ship is good including for wheel chairs and children although I would be careful in the lower steerage class areas as the floors are not that level. The fact you can return on one ticket for 12 months shows great value. Parking is practically next door to the ship although remember Bristol has signed up to the clean air charge so expect to be charged for visiting and bringing money to the city.

Nestled atop Brandon Hill, Cabot Tower stands as a remarkable 32-meter observation tower that commemorates the 400th anniversary of John Cabot's historic voyage to Newfoundland. Erected in 1897, this iconic structure not only pays homage to the famed explorer but also offers breathtaking panoramic views of Bristol’s skyline and its notable landmarks, including the majestic towers of Bristol Cathedral and St. Mary Redcliffe's spire.
Today, I had the pleasure of visiting Cabot Tower in Bristol, and it was truly a remarkable experience. The tower itself is a beautiful historic structure, offering a unique glimpse into the city's past. Built in 1897 to commemorate John Cabot's voyage from Bristol to North America, the tower stands as an iconic landmark in the heart of the city. Climbing up the narrow spiral staircase was an adventure in itself, but the effort was well worth it. Upon reaching the top, I was greeted with breathtaking 360-degree views of Bristol. The panoramic scenery was absolutely stunning, showcasing different parts of this vibrant city from every angle. The picturesque landscapes, combined with the tower's historical charm, made for an unforgettable visit. If you're ever in Bristol, I highly recommend stopping by Cabot Tower. It's a perfect spot to appreciate both the history and the beauty of the city.

Cabot Tower has become an integral part of my daily routine, and I genuinely believe it’s one of Bristol’s most underrated treasures. As someone who walks up here regularly, I can confidently say it offers something special regardless of the weather or season. The tower itself is steeped in historical significance – built in 1897 to commemorate John Cabot’s voyage from Bristol to North America 400 years earlier. It’s a proper piece of Bristol heritage standing proudly in Brandon Hill Park, and climbing it never gets old. The 108-foot structure is free to access when open, which is remarkably generous for such an iconic landmark. The views from the top are absolutely spectacular. On a clear day, you can see right across Bristol – the Suspension Bridge, the city centre, the surrounding countryside, and on exceptional days, even into Wales. It’s genuinely breathtaking and provides perspective on just how beautiful this city is. Even the walk up through Brandon Hill Park is lovely, with well-maintained paths winding through greenery right in the heart of the city. Beyond the views and history, it’s the perfect daily exercise spot. The climb up the tower’s spiral staircase (roughly 100 steps) provides a decent workout, whilst the park itself offers peaceful walking routes away from traffic and noise. I’ve made it part of my daily constitution, and it’s done wonders for both physical fitness and mental wellbeing. Whether you’re a tourist, a history enthusiast, a photographer chasing that perfect Bristol shot, or simply someone who appreciates beautiful spaces, Cabot Tower delivers. It’s a Bristol gem that deserves celebrating

It was over a mile walk up a hill to the base of this tower and then wasn't sure if I had the energy left to climb it but I did and I'm so glad I did as what an amazing view you get and its FREE ! I didn't seen another person when I was there, it was 9am on Friday. The stone stairs are quite narrow, especially to the top section. I have added some 360 degree photos. I can highly recommend a visit to this. Take you time to take in the great views.
Andy S — Google review
Amazing views of the city - the docks, the cathedral, St. Mary Redcliffe, the Wills Building, the museum, and all the other landmarks of the city. It's free which is a huge plus and open quit late I think so could be good for the sunset. Not too many steps - maybe about 150 or so, but it is on a hill so the views are great as it's quite high. Could be a little difficult just to get up the hill though - I approached it from behind so it wasn't too bad. The only real problem with it being free and unstaffed is there were a few beer bottles left on the floor at the top which was a shame but it was Hobgoblin mainly so at least a good beer!
Adam W — Google review
The tower is worth the 10min walk from the bottom. The stairs are a little tight but when you get to the first floor, the view is spectacular, with information about locations and their direction. The second floor is a bit tighter, only for one person at a time but again, the view is spectacular.

Cabot Tower is an absolute gem in Bristol! Perched atop Brandon Hill, this 105-foot red sandstone tower offers breathtaking 360° views of the city, including landmarks like the harbourside, Clifton Suspension Bridge, and Bristol Cathedral. The climb up the narrow spiral staircase is a bit of a workout, but the panoramic vistas at the top are well worth the effort. Surrounded by the serene Brandon Hill Park, it’s a perfect spot for a picnic or a leisurely stroll. Best of all, it’s free to visit! A must-see for anyone exploring Bristol.
Yaprak ( — Google review
A hidden gem in Bristol steeped in history. Awesome view of the city when you reach the top. Recommend you visit during a quiet time of day, if you enter the tower as there is a very narrow circular staircase to ascend with only one way access, no passing places. only attempt if you are in good fitness. Not suitable for babies, dogs or the elderly.
Skater B — Google review
Old tower in the middle of a park. You can go up for free during opening times (which vary based on the season: longer in summer, shorter in winter). Nice 360° view from the top. A few steps to reach the top but feasable, ok for elderly and all type of people (no accessible, though).

Nestled at the pinnacle of Park Street, the Wills Memorial Building stands as a stunning example of neo-Gothic architecture and is an iconic landmark within the University of Bristol. Designed by Sir George Oatley in memory of philanthropist Henry Overton Wills III, this impressive structure reaches over 100 feet tall and features a magnificent tower that dominates the Bristol skyline.
The Wills Memorial Building tour was very interesting and informative, the two guides were funny and bounced off eachother which made the whole time relaxed and easy going, unlike all the steps we went up, though there is a lift done of the way. The Great Hall was very interesting, the Bell was loud and the views from the roof of the tower were amazing. Highly recommend.

One of the symbols of Bristol - a must-see! Wills Memorial Building is an incredible place with stunning architecture and atmosphere. I went on a tour of the tower - a great experience! The tour guide was very enthusiastic and told many interesting facts about the building and its history. The view of the city from the top is amazing, especially beautiful when the sun goes down. Would recommend to anyone visiting Bristol - a real gem for tourists and locals alike!

Absolutely stunning place to visit. Would highly recommend anyone in Bristol to have a visit there. They have tours planned on Saturdays. They also do private tours. The main guide Garry is such a lovely gentleman who share so much about the place (I don't want to spoil the fun by sharing those here). St Nicholas Market is a lively and historic market located in a Georgian arcade, offering an array of independent stalls, small shops, and diverse food options. It's a great alternative to mainstream shopping areas like Cabot Circus. The market features quirky stalls, independent cafes, locally made products, and a variety of street food. Visitors can explore the market's unique offerings while enjoying leisurely strolls hand in hand.
Really great market with a large variety of stalls. So good we went twice. Recommend to have some cash as not all stands accept card.

I visited the St Nicholas Market today for the first time! It’s absolutely lovely with loads of variety of food and drinks to choice from. I had The Ultimate Combo from Low and Slow and the Big Five from Big Juice. All 10/10!!🤩 Only thing is if you go for lunch (which is when I went - around 12:30pm), it is quite packed and there are limited seats.

St Nicks Market is fantastic - today I went for shoe repairs, great service, and speedy! There are lots of independent shops with a huge variety, great for personal shopping and gifts. I've added 2 photos, one before the lunch time rush and one during, there is a great variety of food available.

My partner and I had a fantastic time exploring St Nicholas Market. It's an amazing spot to dive into a wide variety of food stalls – there are so many delicious options to choose from, and the prices are very reasonable. The market has a great, bustling atmosphere, though it can get quite crowded on most days. It's also a wonderful place for a bit of street shopping. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Bristol looking for great food and a vibrant experience!

This place has a variety of food stalls. I loved the Moroccan chicken and some delicious venison, bacon, chicken, and vegetable pastries—all fantastic! I brought home some. Then I stopped by the store. I didn't realise it would be so beautiful, with a variety of blouses, dresses, cotton and linen trousers, and beautiful leather bags. A restaurant and cafe with a selection of delicious snacks and some wood and ceramic crafts, and the people were lovely! I loved it and I must go back! Cheers

The Harbour Hotel Bristol is a stylish hotel located in the heart of Bristol, occupying two former bank buildings. The hotel offers contemporary rooms and suites with quirky decor, spacious layouts, and modern amenities such as rainforest showers and Egyptian cotton sheets. The highlight of the hotel is its chic spa located within the old vaults, featuring massive steel doors. Guests can also enjoy a cocktail bar and the Jetty restaurant specializing in seafood.
Very central location, comfortable room, very good breakfast, pretty helpful and kind staff in the hotel and kitchen. Thanks to the cook for preparing some porridge on my request! Before my arrival I was informed that the Spa was not available on the dates of my stay, at the beginning I was a bit disappointed for that, but in the end, after solving the problem with the swimming pool, I was granted a free entrance as an apology for the trouble. The spa is cosy and very relaxing. Most places are at walking distance, many good restaurants nearby. Highly recommended.

Good afternoon tea and spa, nice room but quite stuffy. Lack of ventilation as windows don't open. Shower doesn't drain well. Excellent location in close proximity to the interesting area. Especially good was the market. Something to note is that the hotel is popular with weddings so if you want to avoid a loud party downstairs avoid. It didn't bother us. Very interesting decor in an old bank. Good helpful staff

Spending 2 nights in Bristol and thought this would be a real treat. £326 a night. Spa is lovely but very small. Room is small but with a nice bathroom. HOWEVER Noise throughout the night, loud banging firedoors outside the bedroom, which would slam any time used. No soap or conditioner, when told on the first night nothing was done. Told them in the morning, nothing done and even by the third day nothing replaced. Staff were lovely and friendly but did nothing about it and on checkout just a polite "We are very sorry". On the final morning at 10:55 housekeeping banging on the door asking us to move out. (check out is at 11am and completely uncalled for). There was mess and mould around the tops of the soap/shampoo dispensers. If i had been paying around £100 a night it may have been overlooked, but at £326 per night you just feel robbed.

Amazing hotel in a fantastic location in the centre of Bristol. We had a large twin room, luxurious bed linen and very comfortable beds. We had complimentary gin, coffee pods, dressing gowns and lovely toiletries. The staff were all delightful. The continental breakfast was fresh and plentiful in the beautiful restaurant. We had an hour in the spa, which was in the vault of the old bank, very unique and luxurious. Throughly recommend

Went today for afternoon tea. Lovely staff. Had to wait for the afternoon tea to arrive and because it was later than it should have been we were given a complimentary bottle of prosecco. Even though we didn't complain, just politely asked if it would soon be ready. What an amazing response for something that wasn't really a problem. Well done to The Harbour Hotel.
Rita B — Google review
When booking it says hotel comes with pool and spa etc. when checking in your asked if you want to use it and what time. when you arrive to use the spa your asked if you would like a locker. So you can understand my shock while leaving the spa after using it I was told to pay £10. No where while booking does it say you have to pay extra, only that the room and hotel include these amenities. Which if you have to pay extra after booking I feel as if I was miss sold. Espially as I had a nicer room booked at hotel du vin around the corner. The rest of the hotel needs some TLC of alreast a fresh coat of paint. And I had not once but twice get a new room key as it wouldn’t work. First time after using the spa and being in robe and slippers, second time late at night and having to wait for some one to come to reception.
Alexander S — Google review
Stayed in the junior suite which was beautifully laid out. Room was very comfortable, lots of wardrobe space. The bed however although advertised as having a king bed - it was 2 beds or mattresses pulled together. The sofa also had some questionable stains on them which should have been cleaned thoroughly. Some of the shower room amenities were not restocked properly as the shower cap box only had a cotton bud in. Regarding the spa - I was informed the use of the facilities (sauna, steam room and pool) were free upon check in but I was charged £7.50 after my stay. It's not a lot but the right information should have been provided initially. The hotel did have a lovely decor throughout and the staff were very approachable and warm.

Unite Students - Unite House offers a convenient location that makes it easy to explore the surrounding area. While the rooms may be on the smaller side, they provide just enough space for your needs. Cleanliness could use some improvement, but overall, my experience during my stay was quite positive. It's a solid choice for those looking for accessible student accommodation!
I was here in 2011-2012. Dorm is in a good position allowing fast and easy access to everything. Rooms are a bit small but you don't actually need something larger. Cleanness was OK but could be better. In general my experience was good.

Horrible quality of construction materials and furniture. Bathroom is extremely small with a ridiculous shower that is just on the floor with no separation of the rest of the bathroom. A door connects the kitchen with the outdoor but it cannot be opened, so no air comes in or leaves the kitchen. Really bad communication with staff and no respect for people's homes, privacy or timetables. Wildly expensive for what it is.

Receptionists are unqualified😤! I asked them to change my keys as it stopped working, but they made me wait for an hour next to their desk. Such a waste of time!!! After I got it changed, it stopped working the next day again! Also every time I need to collect my parcel, they tell me to come back as they have some issues, i don’t really understand!!!! Why do I have to come back to the receptionist desk for 3 times a day to collect just one parcel?????????????

Terrible service. ANY Mulfunction NEVER GETS FIXED. no matter asking the repection or writing email. It is understandable that the heater and showing system have critical mulfunction since this is a old building. The real trouble is that the report of mulfunction would NEVER be addressed. When you report a mulfunction to the repection, they note it down with a smile face and NEVER address it. It took them one month to work up the courage to call a plumber, while there is only extremly hot water in my accommodation. Now the heater in my room have a burning smell that might be toxic, don't know if it will take another month to let them call the maintanance.
Engine P — Google review
The interior is like any old Unite Students’ accommodation these days (it does not look anything like the photos attached on the website, much better even, since those are around seven years old and therefore severely outdated) — there is plenty of storage space to the point that your room will almost look bare, there is even some under bed storage. The interior furniture is neutral, white and grey, and well lit. The downsides of the ensuite bedrooms are that the bathrooms are hideous, outdated wet rooms which have some trouble drying quickly, and are just on the whole impractical, although the water pressure is satisfactory, so a decent shower is possible. The rooms themselves are absolutely boiling, the windows do little to block out the raging noise coming from the pubs, clubs and the 02 Academy which is situated just outside the accommodation. Residents are unruly and loud at times, giving little care for the supposed ‘noise curfew’ rules, even on Monday nights when you’ve got that dreaded 9AM lecture the next day (please invest in some heavy duty earplugs, you’ll thank me later). The kitchens are modern looking, however there is a severe lack of worktop space, making cooking meals cramped and impossible when all 7 residents are in there at one time. The main benefit of this accommodation is the location, you can basically walk everywhere you need to — to the university, to pubs, clubs, restaurants, Cabot Circus shopping quarters and Temple Meads station, as well as being able to get the bus right outside, and the interior lift making leaving for classes prompt. Staff are often slow to sort out problems as they have a backlog of leaky toilets and broken plugs to fix, so your problems probably won’t be addressed immediately. They gave us next to no information about how to revive our post, do our laundry or take out the bins (of which we only have a general waste bin and a minuscule food waste bin, making recycling almost impossible), moving in day was messy and unwelcoming, which all added to the trauma of moving away from home to a foreign city. All in all it simply comes down to who your flat mates are, make an effort to find them, whether this be on facebook, whatsapp or the ‘my flatmates’ page on the accommodation portal, because having supportive and kind flatmates will make or break your experience here — thankfully I have been blessed with (for the most part) quiet and clean flatmates, who are respectful of noise and personal space, however I cannot garuntee that this will be true for everyone, but do not tolerate living in a pig stye. Overall, you will be fine here, I have my complaints and suggestions for improvements, however this is certainly not the worst accommodation around.
Eleni — Google review
After just one week of moving into the residence, there is a problem of black mould on both toilets because fans don't work. They put scaffoldings in the entrance to unite 2 to fix a problem in the roof when they had the whole Summer to fix this issue.

No enforcement of kitchen cleaning, so other residents who have a short let don't clean after themselves or take the bins out so I'm left to do it myself everyday.

I stayed there during the covid year. Worst experience of my life. Don't go here. Say you accidently tripped and were unconscious people would only notice when your flesh gives off a smell. Orchard Heights is a popular choice among students, and it's easy to see why! While it may be more urban with less greenery compared to other options, the vibrant city center offers plenty of excitement. Those lucky enough to call Orchard Heights home often find themselves in a lively community where socializing comes naturally. It's a place where you can enjoy the buzz of city life while still having the freedom to explore at your own pace.
The rooms are very narrow and lack ventilation. It feels like a jail cell. It’s quite depressing to be honest. If you have a choice, avoid this place. And people can be seen smoking weed in the open square 😫😤😳🙄🤷🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️
James C — Google review
The student accommodation is average. However, the biggest disappointment on moving in was that the rooms were dusty and stuffy and the kitchen surfaces and sofas were greasy and sticky. These ought to have been thoroughly cleaned by professional cleaners before handover to the new occupants. Laundry 🧺 machines are way too expensive! You’re overcharging students who are living on tight budget!

Helpful and friendly staff. Awesome location too, but the standard of the rooms and noise in the middle of the night ruins the experience. It's very poor value for money in my opinion.

I can’t lie this is so weird . How long does it take to do maintenance in my flat. I’m no engineer but there has been random contractors in my flat for last 3 weeks changing light bulbs. How long does it take to change light bulbs in a flat which is what the emails were saying they are here for. My problem is they are not one bit affiliated with the university and they aren’t with orchard heights they are external contractors. This is so ridiculous and the funny thing is the I’ve seen them changing light bulbs so why is it taking so long ???? Ridiculous . I don’t understand what game the accommodation or these guys are playing here

I'm staying here for a few weeks for work and I have to say I would go insane if I had to live here for a whole year. First and foremost there is a scandalously bad situation with seagulls. There are a few deterrents on the roof but they are useless. I'm looking out the window now and I've counted around ten of them sitting around making an ungodly noise - this is constant. Every evening I can't sleep because of the noise, when I do get to sleep, I'm woken at five in the morning by them. It's crazy how this has been allowed to happen considering the price of the place. The rooms are fine, but they do get hot so you are forced to open the windows allowing in the sound. Lots of noise from students, but that's a quick fix if rules are enforced. The location is fantastic so it gets a star from me for that, but to anyone considering the place, you should enquire if anything is being done about seagulls because I've been here two weeks and not had a single night of sound sleep because of them.

Pros: - Really Fast Internet - Really large deskspace - Respectable amount of storage - friendly staff Cons: - Room is very small - Bathroom is tiny - 10 students for 1 kitchen is crazy - bad ventilation - kitchens are just not great, stoves cause power cuts, freezers don't freeez ect - I reported clogged sink and broken door hinge, no one ever came to fix them, had to do the job myself.
Sloupy — Google review
Friendly staff, but an absolute let-down for uptime on services. Imagine paying 8k for student accommodation only to have the internet go down the ENTIRE day before your final exam, in the middle of exam season. Occurred multiple times, so that in tandem with long power-cuts to contaminate fridge produce & the many, many, many false alarms for fire evacuations made living at this accom a little but unpeaceful. Rooms facing the inner courtyard (every building faces the inner courtyard like a theatre) can also expect drunken students to scream & wake you up well past 3am, which is good fun, but this even happens in exam season. Silverfish were a little problem at the start of the accom, but with clean practices sorts itself out. It is understood that students with more frequent problems of silverfish were met with a lack of help, even from the uni.

Ehhhh… ok. Small kitchens but large number of flatmates. I was in a flat of 10. The facilities however were nice and modern, nice bathroom and communal rooms etc. During corona a lot of the staff were nasty… We got locked down for 2 weeks with corona and the staff refused to bring up our supermarket deliveries. However there were also lots of friendly receptionists and security guards so I guess it’s really luck of the draw. Very much a party accomodation, so if you don’t want to be woken up by loud music at 2am don’t come here!! BE WARNED! They will most likely fine you for the most minute things. If someone in your flat causes damages they will share the damage charge between everyone in your flat and there’s no way you can get around it.

Nestled in the heart of Bristol, the Bristol Museum & Art Gallery is a treasure trove for art and history enthusiasts alike. This cultural gem showcases an impressive collection that spans centuries and continents, featuring over 1,200 paintings and nearly 200 sculptures. Visitors can marvel at works from the Northern Renaissance to modern French art, alongside British masterpieces dating back to the 17th century.
When you enter the Bristol Museum, it’s like you’ve stepped into another dimension, with regard to time, science and species of organisms both old and modern. Science section is so beautiful, then the photo gallery section too was amazing. What baffles my mind was the guy who keeps on climbing onto the ladder, reaches above and then drops down, picks himself up and drops again in different locations on the ground. Students learning about rocks and its mineral components can learn a lot when the take a field trip there.

Definitely a 10/10 experience for me. The staff at the front desk was really helpful by mentioning what I’d find interesting on all the floors when I mentioned that it was my first time visiting the Bristol Museum. I was impressed by the artworks, silver and porcelain collection.

Free entry - though I gave £5 well Worth it. Great art collection for a gallery this size. Good variety from French Impressionism to 15th religious artworks. Nice and quiet. Good lighting and great descriptions to accompany the work.

Highly recommended when you’re in Bristol! 💛 The exhibits and art pieces are amazing, the staff are super lovely and helpful, and there’s even a cozy café onsite ☕ Plus, they have an interactive area for kids — perfect for families too!

So much to see and learn for free, highly recommend! You can spend hours here easily! My favourite section was the animals, just check out the photos.

Beautiful art, plenty of fossils and beautiful history to look to. Their gender exhibition was lovely too. The only thing that was kind of surprising was the fact that the museum closes at 5PM. I know the staff works hard and they're knowledgeable but I wish it was open a bit later, especially on the weekend. I feel like if they had a ticket price on entry, they might compensate a few more people's time to provide knowledge to the curious folk past 5PM. I'LL DEFINITELY COME BACK THOUGH!!!
Jay B — Google review
The staff here were very helpful, and the art and exhibitions were interesting. There is a lot to see, and a lovely cafe and gift shop. We saw the gender exhibition, which I would highly recommend, there was an amazing array of art and artefacts, and the theme of the whole section is so important. Definitely worth a visit.

Bristol Museum & Art Gallery is a true cultural gem! Housed in a stunning Edwardian Baroque building, it offers an impressive array of exhibits—from ancient Egyptian mummies and Assyrian reliefs to dinosaur fossils and local wildlife displays. 😍😍. The art galleries feature works spanning centuries. What’s more, admission is free, making it an accessible and enriching experience for all. Whether you’re a history buff, art enthusiast, or just looking for a family-friendly outing, this museum is a must-visit in Bristol.

Hotel du Vin Bristol is a stylish boutique hotel housed in 18th-century sugar warehouses, featuring a French bistro and lounge bar. The Bistro du Vin offers an indulgent afternoon tea experience with a delectable selection of finger sandwiches, cakes, and teas. Additionally, the hotel presents Le Brunch, blending traditional Sunday lunches with French sophistication and live jazz music. While the building exudes historic charm, some guests note that the facilities are dated but well-maintained.
We were gifted a champagne afternoon tea for a birthday/anniversary. Booking was easy although we had to wait until September due to graduation dinners during August. Well it was worth the wait, the food was superb, freshly prepared and the selection of savoury and sweet so different than the usual offerings. The service was excellent and our waiter, sorry didn't get his name, was efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. An altogether very enjoyable experience on a wet Wednesday afternoon.

Went for a dinner here. Honestly terrible for vegans vegetarians and gluten free. The service was great but the menu options were very poor. They brought out some beautiful doughy bread and then the gluten free option was essentially seeded toast. Some dishes (ratatouille) tasted good but gave a few of us stomach pain. Fries were good. The onion soup was bland apparently and other food was fine - those without dietary requirements didn’t really say anything about how great their food was but no one complained too much. Unfortunately poor menu choice and thought put into those with dietary requirements and those without dietary requirements were not blown away, so overall not really worth the money

Seemed expensive but upon arrival it is easy to see that the quality justifies the cost. Super king bed in a large dog friendly room with massive bathroom and great breakfast/dining options. Casting to the room tv was hit and miss with no native Netflix nor ability to connect own HDMI. Great mini fridge though.

Excellent value for money. I booked a deluxe room with half board. The room was huge. Only downside is that the room was quite dark (even with all the available lights turned on). The people I traveled with reported having the same issues with their rooms. Half board included dinner (one starter or dessert + one main + one vegetable side). Healthy portion sizes and the food was delicious. Breakfast included a hot dish from the menu (french toast, eggs benedict, etc) and access to a small buffet. I would book this hotel again for the half board alone. The service was great. Everyone I interacted with was warm, friendly and professional. Very happy with the stay!

From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Everyone—from the front desk team to housekeeping—was genuinely friendly, professional, and eager to help. They anticipated our needs before we even asked and were always happy to offer recommendations or assist with anything we needed. It’s rare to find such consistently outstanding service across the board. Their warmth and attention to detail truly made our stay exceptional. Can’t recommend this place highly enough—thank you to the incredible team!

We have stayed at a few places of this chain over the years, so we know what they are like. This is typical. Good location, large dark rooms, with ok food and too warm. We found the service here very hit and miss. No ability to adjust down the Aircon or open a window (they gave us a fan). The room lighting was terrible with 2 switch's to control some lights but even with all on it was still just ambient.

Beyond shopping, it boasts a wide range of dining options, from quick bites to sit-down restaurants, catering to various tastes. The cinema and entertainment facilities add to its appeal, making it more than just a retail hub. Convenient parking and good public transport links make access easy. Overall, it’s a lively, well-designed spot perfect for shopping, dining, and leisure.

Stunning piece of modern architecture. The indoor/outdoor feel really works. Beautiful at sunset..
Cartz — Google review
It's a big shopping centre, with great architectures, great design. The car parks are also big. The capacity is more than 2.500 cars. Besides shops, department stores, restaurants, coffee shops, lego store, technology & electronics store, there are also some entertainment, such as Escape Hunt, Treetop Golf, and King Pins (Bowling Alley). Toilets for customers are available.

WHERE DO I START? Start by walking through a glass bridge, which, in all honesty, did make me a bit hazy Then you get to the monstrosity of a shopping centre I don't know how to describe it Futuristic design with a lot of restaurants, shops and allsorts 🤯
Ozzie O — Google review
Really pretty shopping centre / area. The indoor / outdoor architecture makes it open and light and inviting. Good selection of restaurants at the top level and shops on the bottom level. However, it is quite standard in terms of available shops and restaurants, e.g., no unique shops, just all the big chains. It is a bit of a long way from the car park to the lower shopping level (walking through the carpark, over the bridge, through the restaurant area, and down the escalators).

I attended pizza express last week with my kids, we were served by a very lovely young lady who I unfortunately can’t remember her name but she had brown and pink hair which my daughter loved! She greeted us at the door with a big friendly smile and seated us at the table. She was very polite and chatty throughout the whole service. The food was absolutely delicious and everything came out at the perfect time! I could not recommend this restaurant enough especially if you have kids, we will definitely be back!!
Ami J — Google review
Large shopping complex with easy access parking nearby. Large eclectic range of shops. Plenty of food outlets and other nearby shops outside the complex. Easy to reach via road, bus or on foot.
A L — Google review
Have visited Cabot numerous times, remembering the opening and hype surrounding it, to more recently. It's such a shame about the cinema, it was a great location and I had some great memories of amazing films there! The shops and restaurant options are fantastic and ever changing, and although car parking is a nightmare and queues into the center impact it, I can see they're clearly making an effort to reinvigorate the circus, considering it's been around for almost 17 years! Still looks like a new building and it's kept very clean and well maintained. I think Cabot would also benefit from a few more seating options, besides the giant staircase, maybe some proper sofa seating like Cribbs Causeway has dotted around? (But please, I'd love a new cinema in Showcases place!)

I booked the room Lydia for my parents during their visit in town last Sunday. The hotel and room was impressive and full of character. Every staff greeted us with the most friendly smile. I like to thank Simon especially for his most attentive and thoughtful service throughout dinner. My parents enjoyed every course of the tasting menu and highly recommended it. They loved the pleasant morning stroll at the garden too. Check out "The break up your journey offer" It was a really great value package. We were lucky enough to meet Sarah, the owner of the place when I picked my parents up the next day. She was very generous and kind. We can tell it takes so much love and effort in making this place so special. I wish more people would know about and visit this hidden gem in Bristol.

Beautiful wedding venue! I got married here and had a wonderful outdoor ceremony, and everyone commented on how great the venue was. Great rooms for our guests too, and the staff were lovely and super helpful. Food was great! Lovely space, and I can't wait to come back for our anniversary ❤️

We had our wedding here in August 2025 and were simply blown away by the amazing care taken by every single member of the team! Georgia did a wonderful job communicating with us throughout the process and Rhianna kept everything running incredibly smoothly on the day. We couldn’t be more thankful to the whole team for their friendly and excellent service during our big day, our guests commented on the same! The whole process was made so easy and stress free, I would highly recommend! We cannot wait to continue to go back for celebratory dinners here, the food is sensational!

Absolutely blown away by our stay here! The location is amazing, with stunning grounds that made for the perfect peaceful getaway. Our room was fantastic – beautifully finished, super comfortable, and the shower/bath setup was next level. Total luxury! I’d highly recommend the ‘Troya’ suite. Incredible!! The food was absolutely delicious – every meal was a highlight – and the staff were honestly some of the best we’ve ever come across. Attentive, friendly, and genuinely couldn’t do enough for us. It really made the whole experience feel extra special. Without a doubt, this has been the best UK break my partner and I have ever had. Already looking forward to coming back! – The Brice’s 🌿✨

We had our wedding at Berwick Lodge at the beginning of September, and we couldn’t be happier with our choice! The building is absolutely stunning, with beautiful gardens and unique bedrooms that made the whole experience feel extra special. But what truly sets Berwick Lodge apart is the incredible team and the owner. From the very beginning of the planning process, we felt completely looked after, nothing was ever too much trouble, and everything ran seamlessly on the day. Our guests were full of compliments about the venue itself and the delicious food, which made us even prouder of our choice. Berwick Lodge will always hold a very special place in our hearts, and we’re already planning a return stay for our anniversary!
Agata S — Google review
The setting is nice and the location is convenient. Access to the property is poor (a long road 1½ vehicle width with plenty of large potholes). The food was nice, but pricey. A burger cost me £31 by the time the room service charge was added and then an additional 12.5% service charge on top of the room service charge. I didn't have time to query in the morning when I checked out. I was in the mews rooms, which are not great if you're a taller (above 5ft) person as the sloping ceilings make access to parts of the room difficult. Parts of the room felt very budget, such as the kettle - the type that has a hardwired plug that makes pouring a pain - and a cheap hairdryer that would frequently cut out. Bed was comfortable and the rooms were nice and clean. Other than the kettle, tea and coffee facilities were good with some nice biscuits provided. Shower was OK. One room I stayed in the shower made a loud noise for the first 20-30 seconds of use. In the other, it was loose in its fixings meaning if you wanted it on a decent strength, it wasn't possible to get it to stay in place properly. Neither room I stayed in had any sort of desk. Wifi was provided but was a bit sketchy. When it was connected, the speed seemed usable. All in all, it was an alright stay, but I didn't feel like the price (£135/night without breakfast) was reflected in the quality of the room.

Keepers Bar and Kitchen offers much-loved British meals made with locally sourced ingredients in a setting featuring solid wood and metal fittings.
Fantastic. Staff very polite, informative and helpful. Hotel and was Room very clean and tidy. We paid for breakfast which was a help yourself, plenty available and what wasn't out, was cooked fresh to order. Ideal location being in the centre, Downside no available parking for our van so had to park a couple of streets away, but parking available for smaller vehicles. Would recommend and we'd definitely return..

Booked a one night stay for a gig at the Beacon Booked a standard double but got given compact double so the double bed was against the wall one side. I didn’t realise this was a compact double until I looked at the options to book again for another visit so will make sure I get the correct room next time. Our room was a little tired but ok for one night. We were by the lift so a bit noisy with people coming and going. The location is perfect for the city centre nightlife clubs pubs and concert venues. Parking is available and charged at £19 for 24 hrs. The hotel is in the Bristol clean air zone so another £9 per day if your car doesn’t comply. We returned at 1040pm looking at having a drink in the bar but it was closed “ last orders called at 1030! Really!! I would stay again but get a bigger room next time and have a late drink before I returned.

The not so Grand. Once a Thistle, up until recently a Mercure, this central hotel is now run by "by Sunday". Never heard of them? Nope me neither. Try to go to their website and it'll take you to another brand they own 'Oyo' which makes you think you're on a dodgy price comparison site. But all that could be put aside if the actual hotel was decent. Spoiler - it's not. Tired to say the least, Mercure branding has been ripped off and just "hotels" left in place, with random furniture put in place for pieces clearly removed with the change of brand. Paint peeling everywhere and just a feeling of amateurish about the whole place. Again, a lot of this can be forgiven if the rooms get the basics right, but no again. Dated, uncomfortable beds, feeling more like a seaside bed and breakfast than city centre business hotel. The room I was in was at end (technically beginning) of the corridor. There was no gap between corridor, the door and bed. So when drunk people came in at 2/3am, I heard everything. The shower would have had more luck at watering an ant than a human. And equally my room was next to stairs and lift, so every time the doors to stairs were used the door slammed and I could feel it through the bed, plus I could hear the lift motor and lift announcements whilst in bed. Breakfast was another disappointment and not worth the calories. They still do the breakfast that Mercure used to, but have replaced all the ingredients with the cheapest possible things. Such as sausages that are mostly mush with two little bits of bone in them, more water than sauce baked beans and other flavourless assortments. Plus switching off the old pancake and coffee machines and just leaving urns of stale, luke warm coffee out. To see how far behind the curve this hotel is you only need to pop next door to the Clayton. I won't be returning to "The Grand".
Toby E — Google review
Whilst this hotel appears to be lovely from the outside & photosv the interior of the rooms is something not to be desired. We checked in using the touch screen, were assigned a room with a large pillar in the centre next to the bed, when we asked to change this was no issue. However had to go through the maze of corridors & lifts to get to our new room. This then had a blocked sink and the power cut whilst trying to make a cuppa. No spare pillows in the room so if you don't like soft pillows either ask (which we did not do) or bring your own. If you like a basic hotel with shiny interior then this is for you, but I'd expect some issues if you come here. Location is great though, close to car park and amenities.

Great location for the old city bit noisy as close to a busy night life area. Hotel itself must have "Grand" a few years ago nut is past it now. Good sized room, well equipped, great bed, just faded bordering on feeling grubby. I believe it has recently changed hands, defina definitely due for an upgrade.
Elaine K — Google review
We stayed at the hotel for a weekend. The staff is very helpful and polite, the hotel is at walking distance from all the highlights and sightseeing spots of Bristol. I only give it 4 stars because the beds were a bit small but the rooms were clean and cosy
Julia S — Google review
Stayed here twice. First time in one of the standard rooms- no issues. Second visit left much to be desired. On our second visit we were allocated a compact room, which was not made clear in the booking process. Compact size was no problem, however the cleanliness of this room was a massive issue. There were stains on the carpet & walls. The curtain at the bedroom window did not pull and so a lot of light came through. There was no curtain or blind on the bathroom window at all- right over the bath and not even frosted which was a bit off-putting. Both windowsills were dirty with what appeared to be black mould growing in the corners. The room was generally very grubby and the shower curtain had a disgusting mark on it with a hair sticking out of it- definitely not cleaned properly. It’s frustrating that different grades of room seem to be cleaned to different standards. No matter how much you pay for it you expect cleanliness. Such a shame about the poor standard of rooms because the staff are very pleasant. I think the hotel could be under new management which could explain the discrepancies the level of cleanliness in our two visits.
Rachael S — Google review
First time staying at the grand hotel had some mixed feelings, we were warmly greeted by a young gentleman who was very polite. Unfortunately while he was checking me and my girlfriend in I assume it was his manager. Screamed at him for not wearing his blazer having no idea we were being checked in, I thought the way he spoke to his staff members was disgusting and disrespectful and very unprofessional! I work in hospitality myself and I wouldn’t like to be spoken to in that way by my management at all! Other than the negative energy while being checked in, the stay was really nice rooms were clean had a slight issue with our tv which resulted in a room change at 1:30am.

This hotel was perfect; and will be a chain I will now frequently stay at. I booked the Junior suite for my birthday, was met with lovely reception staff. Though there was an issue with my room, I rang reception and we were immediately moved. Both rooms were spotless. The executive lounge was perfect, with the complimentary wine in the night, and followed with a perfect breakfast in the morning. The location is great, and my partner and I had no problem finding the hotel. The hotel itself was gorgeous, the interior was so beautiful and everything looked clean, and the atmosphere made me feel very welcome. Overall, my expectations were exceeded, and I already plan on making this chain my regular.

Great central location. Stayed for 3 nights for my son’s wedding. Room was spacious and clean with 2 comfortable double beds, good shower too! Room gets a lower star as there were no decaf coffee pods in the room and none available at reception. Also we had other rooms booked as we had a wedding group and I was up and down to reception trying to organise a baby cot which we had pre- booked, at 9pm at night this wasn’t acceptable. With one person manning reception there was no response to calls from the room. Charging a premium rate I do expect a premium service for my cash! The inside of the hotel is quiet but rooms facing College Green and Park Street are noisy. I forgot ear plugs. One day there was no room service too! I like my bed made up and fresh milk and mugs.

If I could give more than 5 stars for service I would. I come to Bristol couple times a year from the US for work and general stay at this property. I booked from 21-25 October and was told last minute that I would have to stay until the 26th. A young gentleman named Filip at the front desk was able to assist in extending my room for the extra day without any issues and at the same rate. Thank you Filip for making it an easy process and for being a professional. Cheers!!!

My nephew and I used this hotel as our base during a trip to Bristol. The location is the best. We had a 2 room suite and it was fantastic. The most comfortable bed and pillows ever. We also had access to the executive lounge, this is a fantastic added extra. Great space with snacks and drinks (including beer and wine at night). The exec lounge also included a full breakfast. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend.

Poor experience sadly. Arrived after a long journey and due to them running two systems for booking, the room I booked wasn’t actually available. To rectify they gave me a downgrade on the room and made a real point about the fact that they’d only charge me for the room I was now forced to take. No attempt to turn the error into a positive experience at all, just left with an average room at an extortionate rate that I wouldn’t have booked at that cost 🙄 two stars for service because the girl on reception was very apologetic and kind. Her manager less so.

Nice hotel, well located. Takes the p... they want to charge for any tiny thing. Im sure they charge you an hourly rate for the air you consume. Room sevice with inflated prices, okay thats normall, but 5 quid on top just make you feel like a cash cow especially when they say no to self collection! As does the 2 quid umbrella rental. At a paid breakfast they want to charge you additional for coffee! come on Mariot treat your customers well and you will be rewarded with loyalty.

All the staff were very professional, efficient & provided five star treatment to me at all times, I was so impressed. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone who I came in to contact with. The rooms were immaculate and of high grade. The hotel was in a great location...walking distance to everything. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone and I look forward to returning in the near future.

Great location, good service although really just slept there and didn't use anything else so can't really comment further. The bed was really comfortable and the room was a good size. However the bathroom was really really small made worse by the fact the door opened into the bathroom and the shower screen needed to be moved over the toilet to get into bath. I found this really restrictive and fidgety and why I gave the room a 3. Also.... some may love this but the room is very very warm to sleep in although the hotel did place 2 fans in there, one of which did not work. Thanks

Overall a good stay at this hotel. Great location in the center of town. Friendly and family friendly staff, nice room. Parking was convenient and costs 18 pounds at linked garage. Only downside was the hotel restaurant, which had a staff person that were rude about us bringing our child for dinner, and the food was expensive and bland. Would definitely stay here again but would avoid the restaurant.

The hotel is based right on the Harbourside so the location is perfect for exploring Bristol. As soon as arrive the service is great, the staff were friendly and helpful. There is parking right next to hotel and they offer discounted parking during stay. The rooms are nice, not huge but it had everything needed. The beds were very comfortable. Only issue was the walls are quite thin so can hear the room next door if they're loud. But overall a really lovely hotel in a great location.

This was our first time in Bristol and this hotel did not disappoint! The staff were all so friendly and had great customer service. The hotel was modern and clean throughout. It has great bedroom and bathroom amenities! As a regular customer of TempleSpa, I loved that this was the hotel’s choice of amenities in the bathrooms. Would definitely stay again if in Bristol!

Andrea in reservations was fantastic. Hotel itself has the perfect location. The rooms are a bit tired, some touch ups would be nice. Staff was general friendly, but check in could have done with a bit more information and warmth, even when someone done the online check in. Breakfast had a great variety and was tasty. Only downside, Hotel does not have AC and the fans shut off after a certain time ( should be changed to regular fans!), which resultet that i woke up in the middle of the night having to turn it back on, as it was too warm in the room

A friend and I visited for Afternoon tea. The Grill felt luxurious but not pretentious. We could not fault the service, in fact it was exemplary from all members of the team, and we particularly enjoyed chatting with a gentleman who we guess is the hotel or restaurant manager. The afternoon tea was very good and great value, and we were delighted when we were told that the prosecco we had enjoyed was to be complimentary. Would definitely recommend as an afternoon tea venue in Bristol.

Our second visit to this hotel. We had a small room on the second floor, perfectly well equipped, and comfortable. The issue was the noise at night of pumping music (to be accurate; until 3am) emitting from a bar on harbourside, which the hotel windows, though double glazed, failed to prevent. Anyone staying who wants a good night's sleep needs to be aware that the rooms on the harbour side will be affected by late night noise and you are better off (as we were previously) located on the road side. We were room only so did not have breakfast. The hotel benefits from a superb location and is very nice, but really needs to look at beefing up it's windows/sound proofing.

Nestled in the picturesque Clifton area, Avon Gorge by Hotel du Vin is a contemporary haven that boasts stunning views of the iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge. Recently renovated, this luxurious hotel features beautifully designed rooms adorned with rich velvets and metallic accents, creating an inviting atmosphere. Guests can unwind on the terrace while sipping spritzes and soaking in breathtaking vistas during summer months.
The location of this hotel is lush! Such a beautiful little village to walk around! Breakfast at Avon Gorge was delicious, fresh and tasty!!!! Really really enjoyed it!!! Fortunately we get to do a lot of travelling. Unfortunately what we paid for the room and what we got, weren't the same. The room was small, clean but small and the 'view of the bridge' from our room was a stretch. You'll see in the picture how much of the bridge we could actually see. The bed however was soooooooo comfy!!!! Would I stay here again? Yes. Would I pay extra for a room that had no extras. Probably not.

We were staying here for my daughter's wedding. A beautiful building inside 😍 We were given an early check-in but due to the wedding dropped our bags and left. Unfortunately on getting to our room after the reception (midnight) our room was really warm and the air conditioning would not stay on a lower temperature than 19. It was just too hot. We couldn't open the window because it wouldn't stay open. The bathroom was extremely small. We had paid more than my son but his room was far bigger. We explained to reception the following morning and received an apology. The breakfast was very nice and enjoyable.

Not the sort of luxury hotel we expected! Lovely food and everything was okay and beds were comfy but the whole experience isn't really worth the price! Food was delicious and couldn't have been better and the deserts were incredible! Would definitely recommend the bread and butter pudding. Staff were okay but rooms really need re vamping and better parking is definitely needed as there is a small car park you can pay £6 for a night but could only really fit maybe 15 cars in at a push?

Wow, this was a little paradise I didn’t want to come home from. We visited for 2 nights in May and everything was fabulous. My tip would be grab yourself a balcony room for the amazing views. The food was lovely and all the staff so helpful at both breakfast and the bar tender who nearly fell off his stool getting the gin down was funny. The bathroom in the room was fab with gorgeous toiletries. I don’t think your pics on the website do the balcony justice or the views, so I added some. There is also a bar with a massive patio area that you can sit out and soak up the views, booze and hopefully sun, we had an amazing laugh. We are hoping to come back in August as I was so sad to leave. Thanks to you all for a wonderful stay.

Really enjoyed a 2-night stay in this hotel. It's a great location with plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance and a 10-minute Taxi from Bristol Temple Meads. Lovely views and neighbourhood. The room had a problem with the shower and the A/C (on the hottest day of the year!) and both were completely fixed within a couple of hours after letting the staff know. They were very friendly, extremely efficient and did an excellent job repairing it so fast! The room was comfortable and nicely decorated with a great view. The view is even better from the roof terrace bar - it's a great spot. Will definitely be back. Thank you.

It’s tough out there in hospitality right now… And as someone who owes their whole career to the hospitality industry, I personally believe we need to start talking UP the good experiences we have. I’m a cheerleader in life. I leave reviews online. I leave a tip and say thank you. I call out good service. This was my Friday night Hotel Du Vin at Clifton Avon Gorge Hotel in the Goram Vincent restaurant. Fish and chips plus a great glass of wine for less than £20! And it was some of the best fish and chips I’ve eaten in a long time. Having worked in and with the seafood sector for 30+ years, I’ve eaten quite a lot in my years. So. What was good? The fish was haddock, the batter was crispy, the chips perfect. The service was superb, the team member was three days into the job, an absolute delight to chat to. The wine was cool and crisp, matching the main course just right. The venue is stunning, with a perfect view of the Clifton suspension bridge in Bristol, just as the sun was going down. Book a table at Goram Vincent now - thank me later!

The restaurant was an absolute delight. The environment was lovely, and the service was spot-on—attentive, helpful, and genuinely involved in helping us choose our meals. We ordered the Chateaubriand for two, a rump steak, and a salmon dish. The food was truly exceptional. The quality and preparation of the meat were impeccable, and the flavours were outstanding—possibly among the best we've ever experienced. We really enjoyed the service. Callum was a true highlight of the evening—his communication was articulate, funny, and perfectly suited to the occasion. He made the experience even more special with his warmth and professionalism. The whole family had a fantastic evening. Thank you! —Jan and family

A really top hotel in a great location. The rooms are well.maintained and the showers and beds are excellent quality. Breakfast was a mix of continental and cooked and again they were excellent. The reception staff were really helpful and sorted me out with parking and all the information I needed. The hotel has a resteraunt which was very high end and when I looked at the menu for a lite lunch it didn't have simple items like sandwiches and salads. I went to check the pub it was attached too and they did quite heavy meals like burgers and Pizzas. In the evening I went out doe dinner and returned to the hotel at 9:30. I was looking forward to a drink out on the balcony. The pub was closed and only the hotel bar was open. This was pretty poorly stocked with draught and really only was suitable.for spirits. There was only one girl on the bar and she was working extremely hard trying to serve multiple guests. After 10 minutes of waiting and not really able to choose a drink I decided to leave the bar. The bars balcony had been closed at 9:30 due to neighbours complaints which was a real shame as it was a beautiful night. I would definitely return to this hotel. It was great value and the rooms were excellent. It's only let down was the limited lunch menu in both the pub and resteraunt and the early closure of the pub and terrace that means I can't give it 5 stars.

College Green in Bristol is a picturesque public park area nestled in the heart of the city, offering lush greenery, shaded trees, and inviting benches for relaxation. It's an ideal spot for students to unwind or have a leisurely picnic. The accommodation environment is highly praised for its security measures, entertainment facilities, and efficient delivery service. Additionally, the staff are known for their excellent service and friendly demeanor.
College Green is the perfect place to lie down and question your life choices, university deadlines, or think about how on earth the seagulls of Bristol got that confident. It’s a peaceful patch of grass that somehow hosts everything from political protests to students in questionable knitwear. Right next to it is Park Street—a hill so steep it defies physics and fashion. Fun fact: Park Street was actually transported brick-by-brick from San Francisco in 1998 in exchange for Prince Harry and a crate of strong cider. It's true if you don't look it up. Climbing it is basically a workout sponsored by gravity. Every few metres there's a café or a vintage shop, strategically placed to let you catch your breath while pretending you just really love second-hand denim. Together, College Green and Park Street perfectly sum up Bristol: effortlessly cool, mildly confusing, and somehow always uphill.

Good place to hang out or have a picnic. I'd love it if there were live music/buskers but as far as I can tell there isn't ever. There are also cute friendly birds.

The guesthouse offers comfortable and stylish rooms, as well as quirky rooftop 1950s-style caravans for a fun and memorable stay. Guests can enjoy a delicious English breakfast from a no-fuss open kitchen, adding to the overall homely atmosphere of the place.
Only lost one star because we unfortunately chose the smallest caravan and although shower great, tinsy sink and tiny space to squeeze past to get to toilet! Otherwise caravan perfect for our needs. Staff nothing too much trouble and guest house itself and food excellent . We'd definitely come to stay again. Perfect position for exploring on foot. Thank you!

Overall it's a great place and slightly quirky (it's Bristol!). The location is great but you have to be careful about noise. I asked for a quiet room but was given 17 which is directly over a pub terrace which stays busy until 2 am. Not so much of a problem in winter if you keep the windows closed, but if you need them open in summer, it's very noisy, also again at about 5:30 when deliveries etc start up

AvOID AVOiD AVOID!!!!!! A shame to be posting this review, as I never complain about but this was awful. Arrived with my husband early afternoon we both checked into the room and it smelt really bad the only way to describe the smell was like cat pee. We went to reception and complained in fairness the gentleman on reception couldn't apologise enough and gave us another room. Arriving to the new room it still smelt damp but we could live with it as we realised it was as good as we was going to get. After doing our day we arrived back around 8pm to get an early night as still recovering from knee surgery I can't do much walking. As the evening went on obviously customers was starting to come back we could hear arguments from rooms below so not to be a problem we turned the tv up it wasnt loud just enough to drown out downstairs must of falling asleep at some point. Around 4am we was knocked up by the hotel night porter to be told to turn the tv down and started having a go about snoring when trying to explain why the tv was turned up to start with he didn't care. Just dismissed us And he left. So we didn't sleep after that went downstairs to get drinks to try and apologise and sat in court yard In the court yard u could hear people having sex we was shocked as they had the nurve to moan about a tv being loud and snoring yet rooms and guests arguing and hearing couple having sex really loudly didn't seem to be a problem. Maybe u can book at this place by the hr as the night porter didn't really seem bothered. Trying to complain about our experience to management we got an e.mail back saying they didn't really care and we should of complained at the time. We did but got dismissed. We sat outside for the remaining of the night and as soon as we could get our car from parking area that doesn't open till 6:30am we left we tried to leave sooner but the car park refused to let anyone in. Management simply don't care and some staff members need to get some people skills. Save your money and book elsewhere. A good day ruined by this hotel don't make our mistake. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!!!!!!

Avoid! Especially room 24.We had to leave on the first night as the very STONG like dead animal SMELL. Caused me allergic reaction straight away, plus the drug addictive people next to our window in a caravan. How the whole thing was: We arrived on Friday afternoon around 3 pm, a guy at the desk didn't even stand up to great me, asked for the 3 night stay to pay straight away, we did, than he told us which way to go. Already the elevator had a strange smell, then the stairs on the corridor to the top floor stinked badly, entered to a room, both windows were open, still smelled. There was 1 chair, no table at all, and no wardrobe. We put our suitcase to the stained carpet, under the TV had a shelf with the cattle, but too big to fill up in the sink, where there was no cold water, but we didn't have anywhere to put our mugs anyway. Went out for a meal, came back 8 pm, to get changed, than closed the windows as it was cold already. Arrived back around 3 am, the strong deadly smell was unbearable, I had allergic reaction straight away, while we were talk and opened the window, the receptionist knocked the door and asked me to talk quieter. I complained about the stong smell, he said he doesn't feel nothing. He said no other rooms awailable and not for the next few days too, as they fully booked, but we saw other rooms available on the website. Tried to go to sleep with the open bathroom window, which opened to the back, but the noise from the still partying people, the very soft mattresses, the squeaky wooden bad, not screwed properly, plus the outside light as the open window, the loud lorries unloading stuff, the loud seagulls and pigeons around the window we had no chance as the room had that strong deadly smell. Than not long after the caravan guests next to our open bathroom window started to using strong, smelly drugs, I asked them to sop it, I was so unwell by that time, and tired and nervous. The receptionist knocked my door and asked me to lower my voice, I told him that I have enough about the mixed smell we have now, he still didn't offer an other room, so I said we need to leave than as I am unwell, need to be in a clean place and need sleep as I had zero so far. We tried to get an uber, tried more than an hour, but as no signal, and the WiFi kept disconnecting, we couldn't at the end. Get ourself together, gave back the key to the receptionist, who also said no management till Sunday or so, than we walked out to a main street where we were able to manage an uber. I am really upset, as the night out in Bristol was very good, but this guest house ruined it. Now we are at home, on our second night, slept some hours daytime at home instead of the site seeing in Bristol and being out there right now at Saturday night. But I was too unwell to go to an other hotel and risk the similar situation. I read the reviews by now on Booking.com also, and lots of people completing about the strong smell and the poor ventilation. This place needs to be managed better, as with money invested, could be a good place, and surely make lots of money, as the price at least double than should be, for an empty room with 2 single bed.

We went for our mini honeymoon as we've stayed here twice before. The staff, food and service are all excellent but the hotel is showing it's age. I was really disappointed with our room as it was tiny and not as clean as expected for the cost of our stay. Firstly the the door going into the room was grubby and the handle was loose so that put me off a bit. The bathroom was very small and I couldn't sit on the toilet properly as the radiator was in the way. I'm quite a skinny person so I think a larger person would really struggle in there. The shower cubicle wasn't that clean, neither was the rest of the bathroom and room, what there was of it. Once we put our suitcases in, there was very little room to move around and we kept banging ourselves on the bed just walking around it. There was no wardrobe just hooks on the walls for clothes and some of those were broken or missing. Furniture was scruffy and poor quality with water damage to the bathroom cabinet and paint peeling off the bed. We asked for a honeymoon package and got a bottle of prosecco, a small box of chocolates and for £30 I felt a bit ripped off. The courtyard although private with tables and chairs was not very tidy and run down. It could do with a jet wash and good tidy. I could go on! In summary then, friendly staff, good food, service and location. Small grubby room, hotel in general a bit grubby. Very disappointed and will be staying elsewhere in future as our room was not value for money especially considering the cost of other hotels in the area.

Easy to find , wonderfully helpful staff , nice sized room , however the bathroom could’ve been cleaner and the room itself had a faulty door handle which made the room hard to open and lock . The location is great in the day , however as a woman I felt unsafe leaving at night this was due to the sheer amount of drug addicts/ alcoholics in the area ,in addition the noise coming from the street made it impossible to sleep

Easy to find , very central , I closed windows and blinds which kept noise out. Asked for new pillows as 2 smelled of perfume and others were musky smell but told they had none and that the cases were clean, it must be the pillows. So I wrapped towels on them to sleep . Kettle smelled disgusting and burnt inside so could not use

The perfect venue for a 40th birthday, the Library felt as special as the staff made us feel throughout. Food was amazing and of course the cocktails and range of local beers top notch. We’ve popped by a few times for drinks or food, which always feels like a treat date night. Highly recommend.

The owner has clearly no idea how to run a business let alone the 4 she's tried to cram into the building. Nightclub, bar, restaurant and hotel do not make a good combo, especially due to the other nightclub over the road. It's so loud you can't sleep. The staff are overworked as they clearly don't have enough on at any time which is quite frankly is worrying considering guest and staff safety. The rooms are nice but it's definitely not worth the price they're charging. Would absolutely not reccomend.

I'm appalled at the state of breakfast at this place. They have staff cooking eggs in a small room with no ventilation, it stinks. The staff here look exhausted and hungry, and by the looks of things are VERY thinly spread. The facilities here are not at all up to par, and if I were the business owner I'd be concerned health & safety would shut us down. A disappointing experience, and a lot of empathy for the poor workers here. Will not be back.

Came here for a drink with my girlfriend in the week and it was nice. Super chilled, classy blues bar vibe but not many people. We thought we'd come back Saturday night and it was carnage. Some homeless guy shouting at the staff not enough staff on at all and the mens urinal was overflowing and we thought there was a nightclub in the basement but it was a private party loud enough to hear it upstairs. Dread to think what it must of been like for people in the bedrooms. Could be a classy place but it isn't

What a lovely little place. Gorgeous views front and back, well laid out public areas, quiet location (a mile from the city centre). The room we stayed in was well furnished, nicely decorated and had a large and well designed bathroom. The bed wasn't the most comfortable I've ever slept in but it was more than adequate. Nicely stocked mini bar - with fresh milk for tea or coffee! Staff were friendly and professional. I'm already looking forward to returning.

This hotel was the last hotel of our stay in the UK and I’m so glad. It was impressive. From the moment we entered and took in the beautiful furnishings, fragrance, and warm welcome, we were happy. As we’d arrived early, we were offered bag storage and then transfer to the room when it was ready, as well as a permit to park on the street. We’d been upgraded to Room 2 on the top floor (should have accepted their offer to deliver the bags! No lift, steep stairs and heavy bags. Our problem!). The room was amazing - very big, with one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. Immediate ‘ahhh’ feeling. The furnishings were so lovely. The view was exceptional. The bath was truly wonderful. The shower pressure was great. The complimentary macaroons were very tasty. Breakfast was freshly cooked and restaurant quality. Flavour was all there! There was a fan above the bed (thank you) and we had a lovely breeze with both windows open. It was so quiet at night! Honestly, this place is amazing. The location is also wonderful - walking distance to the suspension bridge and a short wander to a number of pubs and eateries.

This was a glorious find in Clifton Village. Small, stylish, elegant, personal and charming. Not in the hussle of the village but overlooking greenery. Charming, sharp decor, amazing beds and linen and room.soaps, shampoo etc. One of the best hotel breakfasts I have ever had and delivered to the door on time. This is all the reasons why small is beautiful in boutique stays.

This is a fantastic, beatifully designed hotel. We had a very spacious room (no12) with views over the park on one side and the city on the other. Abodus Student Living - King Square Studios in Bristol offers practical guides and on-site teams to help students make the most of their time at university. The staff is friendly and supportive, although some find the building layout confusing. Despite mixed reviews, many are pleasantly surprised by the value for money and convenient location near the city center and bus stop.
Had a good experience living here! The building is well-maintained, and the team is always friendly and very hard-working. They do the best they can, and I appreciate that. A special thanks to Alice, who has been incredibly helpful from the moment I secured my room.

The photos on the webpage are not accurate. The place seems to have never had any repairs or upgrades since it's been built. The lobby isn't much of a lobby, it resembles a homeless shelter foyer. Their definition of a "large studio" is basically a small dorm room. Management aren't very helpful with ensuring their paid customers are satisfied (if you're an international student made to pay all your rent upfront think twice). The area doesn't seem too safe, there's graffiti everywhere and the exterior isn't pleasing to eye.

If you guys value your mental health please avoid this place. 1) The photos are no accurate representation 2) They do not care if you suffer from a mental health crisis and will still try to sue you for a place you haven’t even spent a night in. After finding out I will no longer be studying I let them know and could only submit the evidence when my uni decided to send it to me. They did not care about this and are now trying to sue a student that has left their course. Disgusting behaviour. Thanks for ruining my Christmas. Avoid this place at all cost

I don't know where to start, if possible i would give KSS a 0 star review, the incompetence of this place is just beyond poor, first of all, if you are looking for accommodation and don't have a large uni grant, AVOID this place at all costs, it will run you into the ground leading you with no money, the community isn't very welcoming in my whole 9 months of living here i have not had a conversation with a single other student, either due to language barrier or just rudeness. second, they just cant seem to get anything right, i've had to make so many maintenance request within the last 9 months of my tenancy, most of which took 6 months to be fixed due to poor choices of operations mangers, and yet even now when i am requesting room maintenance the maintenance staff don't do a proper job, or do a completely different thing to what i asked for. an example of this was in my ensuite bathroom, two of my lights in the bathroom are broken and my shower faucet is leaking, they havnet replaced the bulbs, instead they changed out my bedroom light ones, now, one is too bright and the other hardly lights up my room. regarding the shower faucet, all they did to stop the leak was wrap PTFE tape around the base of the shower hose, water still leaks through causing such an irritating dripping noise all the time. Please, for any 1st year students or for anyone who is looking at living here, DO NOT, it is outrageously low quality from the rooms to the hospitality. DO NOT LIVE HERE. As well as everything that has been said above i have had numerous encounters with SILVERFISH in my studio. Kings Square Studios is an absolute joke, if i could sue these people I would, that is how awful it is here.

Cons: My accommodation is on the first floor, close to the street. The windows are drafty, making it extremely cold in the winter. Additionally, the sound insulation is damaged, so it's very noisy. I often have people knocking on my window at night, and there's frequent marijuana smoking outside, leaving an unpleasant odor that seeps in. Hot water is often unavailable when I want to take a shower, and the water temperature tends to be on the lower side. The kitchen exhaust fan is practically useless. Despite having multiple buttons, they all seem to be for show as the fan’s suction is so weak it hardly removes any cooking fumes, leading to strong odors when I cook. The building is infested with silverfish. I've heard this issue has been ongoing for several years, but as of 2023, it remains unresolved. The overall condition of the dormitory is outdated, including poor-performing induction stoves and inefficient heating. The maintenance team is virtually non-existent. I've reported my window issue for a whole year without receiving any response. Pros: The receptionists are nice. The location is excellent, being close to the school, train station, and city center. The rooms are spacious. There's ample natural light.

Please please please do yourself a favor and don't live here. I can talk about a myriad of problems such as a 2 week turnaround on maintenance, my ceiling literally falling off, or the drains clogging every month (don't worry! it won't get fixed so you'll end up using your kitchen sink for weeks as a replacement). However, the biggest issue, by far, is that KSS just simply doesn't care about your health. For 6 months, I have been dealing with a smoking problem with my neighbor. I was written off and told for months that I need to "just deal with it" from the staff. I went back to them when it started affecting my physical health (worse quality sleep, nausea, and vomiting due to the strong smell being constantly in my apartment). The person is smart enough to smoke in times that the office is closed, and despite knowing this, the office has not made any attempts to fix the issue. I had to call the Bristol Council to attempt to intervene. Instead, KSS avoided their calls and emails, and upon the council investigating my room and making recommendations to prevent the smoke smell from getting into my room, they ignored the recommendations provided from the council as well. KSS had, at some point, also given me a number to text when the smell would happen, claiming that a staff member always has that phone and would be able to investigate even after hours. This sounded really promising until they didn't respond or follow up any time that I messaged the number, and then proceeded to block me. If you don't want to fix the problem I guess their answer is to hide and pretend it doesn't exist. Please save yourself the hassle, the nights crying and throwing up, and the long-term health issues from perennially living next to a smoker and find somewhere else to live. The tiny studios for exorbitant costs are not worth it (laundry also costs an arm and a leg).

For the ridiculous amount they charge a month - just shy of £1400- for a very small studio flat, you'd expect it to be perfect. This is far from the truth. The mattress feels like you're lying on a bag of potatoes and a microwave that doesn't fit the gap it is intended for by a good margin. Blown kitchen doors. The extractor fan in the shower room doesn't work, the chronic build up of lime scale on the taps and shower head from previous students is appalling, (our son has bought a new shower head) and there was no tv remote. These are just a few things we noticed and noted when we helped move him in. The facilities team need to up their game. 1400 quid is daylight robbery, and that's before all the tuition fees.

I was a resident at KSS in 2023 but chose to leave early on 1st April 2024, well before the contract ended. One of the main reasons was the inadequate heating during winter. The electric heater in room 036 is equipped with a temperature sensor that automatically switches it off once the room reaches 19 degrees Celsius. Despite raising this issue with management multiple times, no solution was provided. They claimed this was to reduce energy consumption, but 19 degrees is far from sufficient during the winter months. The room was uncomfortably cold, bordering on freezing, and well below the 24 degrees Celsius most people consider a comfortable room temperature. To further highlight the inconsistency, I later spoke with another resident who lived in a twodio, and they confirmed that their radiator could maintain a temperature of 30 degrees without any issues. While I have since found a much better place to live in Bristol, I continued to pay rent as per the contract, which lasts until 31st August 2024. However, when I returned to the property to collect my belongings, I was shocked to find that management had not only entered the property multiple times without prior notice but had also cleared out room 036 without my permission. They disposed of my remaining items, which I had intended to collect, despite my lease still being active. I contacted the front office manager a week ago regarding these serious issues, but I have yet to receive a response. Based on my experience, I strongly urge others to AVOID renting at this property. This review reflects my honest experience to the best of my knowledge. Update: after 8 days they responded (see attachment). So please please please AVOID! I urge every student to STAY AWAY from this scamming and harassing accommodation.

Nestled in the picturesque Clifton district, Clifton Hill House stands as one of Bristol's oldest student residences, dating back to the university's inception in 1909. This catered hall is conveniently located just a short 14-minute stroll from campus and showcases beautiful Georgian architecture that adds to its charm. While the rooms are spacious yet simple, shared kitchens and bathrooms can sometimes pose challenges. However, residents enjoy a large dining hall with decent food options and stunning gardens that provide a serene escape.

To the Post Room of Clifton House, I can only give a one-star rating. This score directly reflects their approach to handling parcels, especially that unacceptable notice. I must question how such a parcel policy considers the needs of residents. It seems both unreasonable and inhumane. How are we supposed to ensure the timely and safe receipt of items that are urgently needed or time-sensitive, such as important documents, passports, or perishable food items? The lack of flexibility and consideration for urgent scenarios undoubtedly brings inconvenience to our daily life and could lead to the loss of significant opportunities. Moreover, who bears the consequences of not receiving parcels in time? It's absurd and foolish to mandate that parcels must be placed in parcel lockers, and then to retrieve them only after receiving an email. And why are these lockers so small? If there's a system of parcel lockers, why not have more of them? Isn't this just creating unnecessary trouble for residents? I have already lodged a complaint with the school about this unreasonable notice and rules. I've researched other school dormitories and found that such ridiculous and foolish operations are rare. Not everyone has the patience for this.

Stayed here for the first year of university. Rooms are a good size although slightly basic. Kitchens are small and shared bathrooms can lead to issues. Dining Hall is large and food is often good. The gardens are stunning and tennis court is a nice feature.

Rooms are sweatingly hot, always have to keep the windows opened. Students coming back drunk throughout the night. Students occationally smoke weed in frequent parties in the kitchen, fire alarms taped. Always have to pay and use dryers two times in order to get clothes dried in the laundry. Staffs don't know the cause of an unexpected alarm from a disabled emergency callpoint nor how to deal with it. Inefficient way of collecting your posts, sometimes will have to wait for at least half an hour to collect posts, students from various accommodations nearby will queue before you as their posts are received in Hiatt Baker as well. May still be a good place for some others.

One of Bristols best accommodation’s in comparison to its other ones. Overall a good accommodation, although it does have its flaws. Pros: - en suite (biggest pro of all) - central location, close to everything - 6 people per kitchen is much less than other acc - relatively new so minor wear and tear - very nice bathroom - generally nice good quality room - you could get lucky and get a super large room Cons: - gets very hot in the summer - air vents connect all rooms and the kitchen so you can smell if anyone else is smoking or cooking - central location also means depending on your room it can be very noisy (i was across the lanes pub and i could hear karaoke and music, especially on weekends) - on many occasions i saw silverfish in my room, the corridor and kitchen - very often the building didn’t have hot water - often woke up to drilling throughout the year from underneath (snack box was being built) and from the corridors (new bridewell maintenance). This was very unpleasant. We were given a goodwill of £67, but I believe me sleep is more important

Had a very good experience living here for the first three years of my university life with almost no issues. This past year has been very disappointing specifically the last 4 months. There were issues with water supply, late responses to maintenance issues and finally breaking down of one or both lifts in my block and me having to walk up 12 floors multiple times. There was very poor communication from the management team and reception staff specially on weekends when there were urgent issues with the lifts being down.

The street art that adorns Bristol gives it an artistic and very human feel, no where is this more apparent than in Stokes Croft. The artists are clearly talented and enjoy what they're doing, often putting in a political message that makes you stop and think. The only real down side is that other people feel the need to put their own tags on it.

A few years back, I had the opportunity to stay at Churchill Hall, which offers a unique blend of accommodations divided into two distinct sections: the 'new' block and the 'old' block. The rooms in the new section are notably smaller compared to those in the old block, which tend to be more basic yet spacious. Overall, the facilities are quite decent and meals are included in your stay, adding great value.

First time in Bristol, first time at Smoke & Mirrors! and what a show! Absolutely worth the trip. Without a doubt the best magic show I’ve seen in the UK. The atmosphere was electric, the venue intimate and fun, and the performers were top-tier. The highlight of the night was definitely Jaie, mind-blowing performance! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you’re looking for a night of pure wizardry and giggles in Bristol, this is THE place! Mark and Richard aren’t just magicians – they’re part-time comedians, full-time mind-blowers. Honestly, I’m still trying to figure out how Mark made my jaw disappear for half the night (spoiler: it was from laughing too much). Mark was the perfect entertainer- warm, welcoming, and hilariously cheeky, making just the right amount of fun of everyone (don’t worry, it’s all in good spirits… unless he actually is a wizard, in which case, RIP my dignity). The show was super interactive, so no chance of dozing off – unless you were hypnotized, which I’m still not ruling out. The magic itself? Brilliant. Real “how-did-they-do-that?!” moments that left us all questioning reality and Googling “how to become a magician” on the way home. If you want a quirky, laugh-out-loud night out in Bristol that’s totally different from the usual pub crawl, go see these guys. Just don’t ask them to pull a rabbit out of a hat – they’re too busy pulling smiles out of thin air! 🪄✨

An absolutely amazing place! My 5 year old loved zooming around interacting with everything. There's enough detailed science exhibits (infornation plaques) for older visitors, while also having simpler demonstrating activities/interactive features for those with a shorter attention span. Throughout the day there are mini shows, demonstrations, story times etc that are free. There's also the planetarium shows (at an extra cost) throughout the day. Everything is sign posted so well, there's enough to explore for the whole day and a cafe on premise that you'd never want to leave. I have to say that the absolute highlight of our day was thanks to a staff member named Arthur. 5 STARS! From taking us through an environmental impact activity, to making sure to find us again (I had to rush out because said 5 year old ran off to the next cool thing) only to say 'thank you' for taking part in their research, to being there and supportive when there was an incident with another child, to pointing out the quiet room.... Arthur made us feel safe, seen, welcome, and included.

We The Curious — A Wedding Venue That’s Truly One of a Kind We’ve had the absolute pleasure of photographing weddings at all sorts of venues, but We The Curious stands out as something really special. The planetarium ceremony space is unlike any other — an immersive dome that creates this incredible intimate atmosphere, perfect for couples wanting something unique and memorable. Sure, the low light can be a bit tricky, but that just adds to the mood and makes for some truly cinematic photos. The rest of the venue offers great flexibility with beautiful event rooms and balconies overlooking Bristol’s cityscape. The terrace is a favourite spot for guests to relax and mingle, especially if the weather plays ball. Plus, having the museum open for guests to explore after the ceremony adds an extra layer of fun and interaction that you just don’t get elsewhere. From a photographer’s point of view, We The Curious is a playground full of interesting spaces and colourful backdrops — perfect for creative couple and group portraits. It’s a venue that’s quirky, thoughtful, and full of heart. We can’t recommend it enough for anyone looking to throw a wedding that’s as unique as their love story.

The place has this mix of science, colour and hands on stuff that keeps you busy without even realising how fast the time goes. We both had our own favourite bits. For me, I really liked how interactive everything is. Nothing just sits there gathering dust, you actually get to press things, spin things and figure stuff out. My nephew absolutely loved the colour octagon wheel, and I have to admit I did too. It is so bright and weirdly satisfying to play around with. We must have stood there for ages just messing with it. Another thing I really liked was how friendly the staff were. They actually talk to you like they enjoy being there. My nephew loved the little experiments section where you can try out different gadgets and watch stuff light up or move. It kept him completely focused which is rare for him. The planetarium though, that is the best bit of the whole place. You go in thinking it is just a dome with stars, but it is amazing and creative and feels like you get pulled into the show. Barney the host was brilliant as well. Really funny, really clear and you can tell he enjoys what he does. He made the whole thing feel alive, like you are actually floating around space instead of sitting in a room in Bristol. I also liked how much variety there is. Every corner has something different going on. My nephew enjoyed the section with shadows and lights, and we both liked the big mechanical displays you can play with. By the end of it we were both tired but still felt like we could have stayed another hour. Overall We The Curious is one of those places that gets science right. It is colourful, creative and fun without feeling like school. If you go with kids they will be buzzing, but even as an adult you end up enjoying it more than you expect.

Few things were interesting and interactive Very busy on our visit i would avoid day entry which was £20! entry after 3 is £11 and probably a lot quieter. We missed out on half of the activities because it was so over crowded. Following on others reviews on google it does seem more philosophical than science-y. Would still recommend to visit as a time filler

We had a fabulous time here on Sunday afternoon. It was well organised and really interesting. As 2 adults we thoroughly enjoyed "playing" with all the hands on exhibits. It's fascinating, fun and educational all at once. A lovely lady called Shannon demonstrated a few things for us and gave us some interesting facts too. She was really knowledgeable and helpful. The planetarium show was an added bonus and amazing with the 3D glasses! Arthur gave us an excellent interstellar "tour" which was fun for the children but still interesting for adults and fascinating for everyone. He has a lovely manner and explained everything very clearly. I would thoroughly recommend this to young and old alike. It's fun, interesting and the staff were all lovely. 😉

Generally great, and kids will love it. The half price after 3pm is a good option in these price tough times (although there is certainly enough to keep you busy more then 2hrs!) Naturally it can be pretty chaotic, but there is a wide range of interactive games, learning experiences and fun activities. Tickets brought online beforehand was fine but it's always so annoying having to create an account and set a silly, long password just to book tickets, grr 🥺 guest checkout plz

My 10 years son enjoyed his time spending at the museum. Personally, I would prefer more interactive games or stuffs he can play. He like making his own video the most because he had done similar stuffs at school. Might come back in a couple year time.

Church
Nestled in the heart of Bristol, Bristol Cathedral is a stunning example of Gothic architecture with roots tracing back to the 12th century. Originally founded as an abbey, it transformed into the seat of the Bishop of Bristol following the dissolution of monasteries in the 1500s. This remarkable structure features a unique hall church design where its nave, aisles, and choir share equal height, creating an impressive visual experience.
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Bristol Cathedral today, and I must say, it was an incredible experience. The moment I stepped inside, I was captivated by the grandeur and serene atmosphere of the cathedral. Bristol Cathedral's stunning Gothic architecture left me in awe. The intricate details of the stained glass windows, the towering arches, and the beautifully crafted stonework perfectly showcased the cathedral's rich history and spiritual significance. Walking through its vast nave and observing the play of light filtering through the colorful windows was truly mesmerizing. Although I could spend hours describing its beauty, what struck me the most was the peaceful ambiance, which provided a perfect space for reflection and admiration of the artistry that has stood the test of time. I highly recommend a visit to Bristol Cathedral to anyone who appreciates history, architecture, and serene environments. It’s definitely a must-see landmark when in Bristol.

Beautiful Cathedral in Bristol. Free entry with a suggested donation of £5.00. Stunning inside with lots of interesting things to see, lots of information provided about the history. Beautiful glass windows and places of quiet reflection. Staff are welcoming and friendly and will answer any questions. Toilets and cafe availible on site and a lovely little garden with benches.

Bristol Cathedral is a stunning blend of history, architecture, and serenity right on College Green. The architecture is stunning, especially the tall vaulted ceilings and stained glass windows. Admission is free, and guided tours are available for those interested in delving deeper into its rich history. Whether you’re a history enthusiast, architecture lover, or seeking a quiet retreat, Bristol Cathedral is a must-visit.

The church is quite beautiful. While the majority of its current structure dates back to the Victorian era, its origins are significantly older. The gentleman stationed at the entrance was exceptionally kind and welcoming.

Really beautiful cathedral and plenty for visitors to explore. There is so much history for one to explore. For free entrance fee, this cathedral is really a must see in Bristol.

My cousin and I visited this place as I wanted to see it. It is very beautiful inside and out. There was a group rehearsing music for an Evensong Service which was enjoyable to listen to. There was also a display about slavery which was quite informative.

Highly recommended to visit. The staff are great, the cafe is awesome and the exhibition was informative. There are some beautiful places in the Cathedral to reflect and to be still.. just outside the cafe is a small garden.. beautiful.. Highly recommended to visit..

St Mary Redcliffe Church is a stunning 15th-century landmark that stands as a testament to Bristol's rich architectural heritage. Renowned for its impressive Perpendicular Gothic design, this church has survived the ravages of time and war, making it one of England's most celebrated parish churches. Originally built in the 13th century and later renovated, it features exquisite details such as slender clustered pillars and intricate vaulting that reflect the prosperity of Bristol’s merchants.
An amazing well maintained church, free entry. So many beautiful stained glass windows on every side. The organist was playing while I was there which showed off the amazing acoustics. Well worth a visit, make a donation after your visit.

This is a beautiful church, I had a good nosy around, and in the cellar if you go down the steps, you'll find a new cafe selling authentic homemade Chilean food, coffees and cakes. You won't be able to miss it because you'll do what I did and follow your nose, it smells divine! The beef empanada was beautiful, and it was so lovely to sit in the warmth and take in the surroundings. Really finished off my trip nicely.
Risemoor S — Google review
A gorgeous place to visit, with lots of information about the history of the church and its attendants on boards around the building. The stained glass windows in particular are absolutely stunning. It’s free to enter, so do make a donation or buy something from the shop if you’re able to.

This is truly a beautiful church. Well worth a visit. It's even nicer than the cathedral tbh. Lovely volunteers there too

Beautiful church nestled in the heart of Bristol, well worth your time if you’re walking by this place. The gardens are well maintained and there’s plenty of material in the church itself to guide you through a visit.

Corinne D — Google review
ST MARY REDCLIFFE, BRISTOL. This large church is often called the city's second cathedral, and though it immediately appears high Victorian gothic, its origins lie in the 14th century. The north porch is famed for its sculptures, 19th century on the outside and ancient within, including many showing a range of strange beasts, and it also has a 15th century roof. It was in a room above this roof that the story of Thomas Chatterton, the legendary but well-meaning forger, began when he found a chest full of antique manuscripts and decided to create some of his own, including new examples of Shakespeare. The church is full of memorials of all kinds, from simple slabs bearing tools of the deceased's trade to elaborate tombs with painted effigies. It is clear that Elizabeth I was much respected here, and her effigy, now fixed in an unusual stance on a wall atop a narrow base, is almost startling in appearance. The various restorations over the years have resulted in a huge number of antique pieces of sculpture arranged along the inner walls for the visitor to make a close study.

A beautiful church and apparently the favourite of Queen Elizabeth I. Links to the foundation of the USA and retain the armour of admiral William Penn. Links to Bristols place in seafaring history including the slave trade where those sold into bondage by their own people where trafficked.

Nestled in the heart of Bristol, the Bristol Old Vic stands as a testament to theatrical history, being the oldest working theater in England. This beautifully restored Georgian venue combines classic red-and-gold decor with cutting-edge technology, creating an inviting atmosphere for all who enter. Since its inception in 1766, it has been a hub for captivating performances, often showcasing timeless works like those of Shakespeare.
My friend and I popped into the Bristol Old Vic for a drink..what a beautiful building. I've never seen a show here before, but I'd love to come back to see inside the theatre rooms. Lovely staff, very friendly with quick service.

Our first time and we fell in love! What a wonderful place to be, just as a lovely place, but then there is the gorgeous old (1800's) theatre and all its history. The reception area is 'new', added on to the original frontage and it is stunning. We didn't want to leave! Do yourself a favour, visit this wonderful old English theatre and soak it all in! #BristolOldVic #Theatre #Bristol
Martin C — Google review
Beautiful old theater with no bad seats. Plenty of bathrooms, which is unusual for a theater with everyone trying to go at intermission. Drinks are reasonably priced and you can take them into the theaoto enjoy during the show.
Alan J — Google review
This is a great venue, it's such a beautiful building. Ideal for a variety of events. A lot of the original features remain, or have been replaced like for like. Much of the original brickwork, and flooring remain throughout the building. The modern meets historical vibe works well for this venue. Everyone is so helpful and friendly. Bar staff, reception, front of house, ushers, all make the space feel so welcoming. The lift might have been out of order, but they have a series of contingency plans, and everyone is able to access the venue. A lovely night was had, when 3 of us came to see Rosie Jones. (She was as fabulous as ever) A special shout out to Rowan who was so helpful from the moment we arrived, to the moment we left. There were several sets of toilets: Gender neutral Male Female Disabled I used the gender neutral toilets, and as I suspected, was absolutely fine! These toilets are great for single parents and carers of opposing genders, who may need to enter the space. Or, rather bizarrely, someone like me who just needed the loo! More spaces should consider installing gender neutral loos.

Saw a comedian and loved the not-so-huge theatre setting, very intimate … fabulous building where modern meets old.
Beej P — Google review
Like the calendar of performances, the facilities are good. The latest update ticketing system and reminders to links to drinks ordering are really good. It is always a very friendly theatre but can get busy so not easy to get around with a full house. The only issue often is finding seats with clear view to stage. The seats can often have limited leg room so be careful when booking. Otherwise, we continue to enjoy performances at the Old Vic, Private Lives was excellent.
Rich C — Google review

Nestled in the heart of Bristol, Brandon Hill is a charming hilltop park that boasts stunning panoramic views of the city and its picturesque harborside. As one of the city's oldest parks, it offers a delightful escape with its lush green spaces, winding pathways, and a dedicated children's playground.
Nice, clean & green garden/park. Beautiful nature and views. There is a pool and different kinds of colorful fish in it. It is an amazing peaceful place away from the crowds and noise of the city. On the top of the hill, there are benches where you can admire the view of the city from above.

Honestly I went for this time today in this sunny and shiny season . I found it a peaceful and breathtaking experience for me. You can find cherry blossoms here. You never get an idea how you spent more than 2 hours here. If you are in Bristol especially in this spring season you must visit this place .

Attractive small landscaped park built on a hill. It's Bristol's oldest park, and home to the impressive Cabot Tower. Free to visit, and well maintained, with good paths and benches to sit and take a break from the busy city streets. From the top of Cabot Tower there are superb panoramic views over Bristol, with almost all the key landmarks visible.
Andrew T — Google review
The hill is situated in Bristol city. It’s a moderate climb to the top of the hill and then you can climb to top of Cabot tower. On the day we visited it was raining and windy, but we still enjoyed the walk and the climb. Highly recommended.
Roobik E — Google review
This is one of the things of Bristol I appreciated the most. This lovely park is where the Cabot Tower is located, unfortunately, it's temporary closed because of the pandemic. Is not possible at the moment climb up to the stairs to visit the tower but it's still possible go around the park and arriving just down the tower to enjoy the nice view around from there, the highest point of the hill. There are some nice cascades in the park and benches to rest or maybe under the trees. I loved it 😊
Michela F — Google review
I had a great walk around Brandon Hill which I have enjoyed some great views of the city on a bright sunny day. The climb it was tough but it was worth it. The hill is the tallest in Bristol and I have discovered some interesting trees that were planted there like the oak tree that it was planted in 1902 in a commemoration of the coronation of King Edward VII and the Wilctonia that it was brought over to Bristol on SS Great Britain. Also there was the meadow and the wildlife to enjoy. Going to the Cabot Tower it was enjoyable as I have taken the route where the waterfall and small ponds were which was a blessing to sit under there on a hot summers day. Also by the ponds I have discovered wild strawberries. There is a playground and another area were teens were practising boxing.
Kypriopoulla — Google review
I have lived in Bristol for almost 3 years and have only been to Brandon Hill once! But I will be making sure it isn’t only a one time visit as the area is so beautiful, the landscaping will have you wondering how they managed to carve such a beautiful area - there are benches on the lower part of the park to oversee the city and enjoy but you can also go up the tower for a more elevated view. Would recommend for some natural beauty!
Urbi — Google review
An amazing park/garden. Calm and praceful atmosphere. The top small pond, flowers, birds and Squirrels give a wonderful atmosphere and view to the city. The Cabot tower is located on top of ot, whichnis a free of cost amazing attraction. Able to see the entire city from there.
