AIRE Ancient Baths Chicago, located in the River North neighborhood, offers a luxurious spa and bathhouse experience. The space features various baths with different temperatures and styles, including a hot caldarium, frigidarium, indoor-outdoor pool, high-salinity floating pool, and a pool with a thousand jets. The setting is an intimate and dreamlike environment within a restored 1902 factory adorned with original exposed bricks and columns, antiques from around the world, and hundreds of candles.
Absolutely incredible experience. The atmosphere is stunning…candlelit, peaceful, and beautifully designed. The variety of baths and the saltwater flotation pool made it feel like time slowed down. Staff were professional and attentive, and the massage was one of the best I’ve had. Perfect place to relax, recharge, and escape the city.

First time here 9/9/25. It was a good experience. Every staff member is extremely professional and pleasant. Every bath is worth trying. The salt bath will make your body float my fav was the peppermint steam room. We received a 45 minute full body massage. My masseuse was okay, could have been a little bit more gentle but overall not bad. Thats the reason for the 4 stars. Our experience was for 2 hours and we definitely got our money worth. The ambiance is breath taking. After leaving here your body will feel relaxed and rejuvenated. You are not allowed to take your phones past the locker room for people's privacy. Im glad it's like that, so you can focus on your relaxation experience. I recommend to visit here.

This spa was an amazing experience. It’s a bit pricey, but perfect for a romantic evening or a relaxing escape. The space has a beautiful Greek/Roman bath feel, with not only multiple steam rooms infused with scents like eucalyptus and lavender, but also luxurious bathing spa baths to soak and unwind. There’s a cold plunge, relaxing massages available by appointment, and they even provide bathing suits if you need them. Lockers and toiletries are included, which makes it very convenient. Highly recommend for anyone looking to relax and enjoy a peaceful, indulgent experience.

My husband and I flew to Chicago specifically to visit AIRE Ancient Baths for our 13th wedding anniversary. I had previously visited in April with friends and absolutely loved the experience, which is why I was excited to return and pamper my husband with the Love Connection 90 service — a 90-minute couples massage and thermal bath experience. Unfortunately, this visit was very disappointing. After spending over 90 minutes in the thermal baths, I asked an attendant when our massages would begin because I didn’t want to miss our service. We were told we were “next” and would start in about five minutes. However, when we were finally brought back, we were placed in separate rooms instead of a couples room as booked. The massages started late and ended early — not our fault, as they were clearly running behind — and the quality of the massages themselves was subpar. When checking out, I asked the receptionist if it was normal to be separated for the Love Connection service. She apologized and confirmed it was not normal, saying she would leave my appointment open for a manager to contact me. The service took place on October 11, and after hearing nothing by October 20, I followed up via email. I received a quick response that my message was being passed to a manager, but now it’s October 24 and I still haven’t heard back. As a spa owner myself, I hesitate to leave negative reviews, but this was a truly disappointing experience — especially given the cost and how highly this spa is rated. The lack of communication and follow-through afterward only added to the frustration. Sadly, I don’t think we’d return or recommend it, which is unfortunate considering how wonderful my first visit was earlier this year.

My experience at Aire Ancient Baths Spa was amazing from start to finish — easy, serene, and completely relaxing. The atmosphere was so peaceful, and the “whisper only” rule really helped maintain a calm, soothing vibe throughout the space. My massage with Gene was incredible — perfect pressure and exactly what I needed. And the cold plunge inside the steam room? Freakin’ AWESOME! Highly recommend treating yourself here.
Elle P — Google review
Wow!! I don’t even know where to start. This whole experience was absolutely amazing, and we left feeling beyond relaxed. The atmosphere is serene. from the moment you walk in, the staff make sure you’re completely taken care of, moving quietly without ever breaking that peaceful spell. Each bath is worth trying, but the cold plunge was easily my favorite. I went back a few times just to feel that rush. It’s not just the temperature shift, but that split second when your body pauses to take a breath and a calm just washes over you. It’s such a strange, grounding peace that I couldn’t get enough of. The warm stone beds felt dangerously comfortable, we had to keep reminding ourselves not to stay too long or we really would’ve fallen asleep right there. The low lighting and quiet, intimate setting make it perfect for a peaceful escape (the whisper rule definitely helps with that). We also loved the salt scrub area; we helped each other out, and our skin felt unbelievably smooth afterward. Overall, it was an unforgettable experience. the kind that lingers with you even after you’ve left.

Long post- My husband booked me a 90 minute bath for my birthday weekend for a 8am appointment on a sunday. (Which I highly recommend) being its early morning, less people at that time, and what a great way to start the day. The staff in the women's locker room were so nice and accommodating. The locker area is fairly small- and changing room is mid. Likes: walking out into the baths was a vibe! beautiful beautiful building- loved everything about the baths and the layout. My favorite was the warm bath that went outside. That day it was raining so it was super cool to swim under the bath and be outside. loved the steam rooms- was my absolute fave! love the diversity of staff. Had a great attendant who showed me around the spas. Also mentioning again arriving at 8am was perfect. (less people) Dislikes: This place is BEST with a partner, with a crew. I could NOT fully relax solo when folks around me are chatting, kissing ;-|, It was completely distracting. Bathrooms near pools were not clean. ALSOOOO... I have been to women only baths and i would prefer that than this (unless with others) I personally did not like the feeling of being in a bath with my swimsuit and my eyes closed relaxing, and a man is just above my gaze. Just didnt feel comfortable. Lastly as my 90 mins were near the end I saw something really awful looking floating in the big bath. It immediately turned me off- I got up and told an attendant, she also saw it and told me she would address it. When leaving the baths she went back to her post, and didnt seem as if it was high priority. (just put a bad taste in my mouth) Conclusion: I raise this issue to the front desk- they were apologetic, but still... idk gave me an extra juice which was what my compensation was for my disdain..

The staff, ambience, and variety of waters/steam rooms were amazing! I lost track of time, but staff made sure I was aware of how much time we had left in our session. Would highly recommend for a couple or girls trip!

Magician
Chicago Magic Lounge is a unique performance venue in Andersonville that offers three different environments for guests to enjoy. The space features magicians performing close-up magic and larger-scale shows on stage, creating an immersive experience for visitors. Guests can enter through a laundromat and explore the large theater space where they can witness performances like Music & Magic, which combines live music with tableside magic.
What a magical experience. My advice: wear a helmet so you don't make a mess when they blow your mind!! Not a bad seat in the house. The staff was friendly and fantastic. There are magicians that will come table to table and perform up close card tricks. We came to see the headliner Lucy Darling who was absolutely incredible! Came all the way out from Portage Indiana to see the show and we will definitely be back!
Chefy M — Google review
I had a wonderful evening visiting the magic lounge. I booked for a mid week show, about 3 days in advance. I was able to get seating right in front of the stage for 2 people. We saw the Closeup Magic show. Even though we were within a few meters of the action, almost all of the tricks were executed far too quickly and flawlessly to see how they were done. A very impressive set of performers. I definitely advise getting there early, for the Closeup show at the bar prior to the show. Special shout out to Magic Sam, you were awesome !!
Robbie C — Google review
This place wowed us! We were looking for something a bit different for an evening out and this fit the bill perfectly! Parking nearby is metered, or certain streets you can park for free and walk, but it is very limited and only certain times. The "secret" entrance was very cool. Inside the bar, the atmosphere was cozy and felt like an old drawing room. Original books and props, delicious drinks, and close up magic with cards and other small items. We also bought tickets to the show, which was great! Seating is a little close to your neighbor, but we didn't mind. They offer food to purchase, but it's upscale appetizers, so don't go starving, they don't offer a full dinner. You can view the menu online. Absolutely worth the visit!

I’m thrilled to be the 900th review! 🎉 We went to the CML this weekend and had an absolutely incredible time. From the vibe and the venue to the food, drinks, and especially the performance—it was all fantastic! Huge thanks to Ben and the team for making our evening truly magical.
MBS — Google review
10/10! I went for my friends birthday and we set in the first row. The first hour is table side magic and “cocktails/food” even though you can order throughout the entirety of the show. We all ordered Raspberry lemon drops (don’t come for us 😂), the fries, the fried chicken sliders who come with two sliders and there is one other slider that we got but I forgot the name. Food was really good we spent about $85+ tip for the three of us. Service was great and so was the energy. The actual magic show was about an hour then the guest who purchased premium seats got to go to a smaller room to getan extra 30 mins of more magic. I really enjoyed myself and would DEFINITELY go back.
Taylor C — Google review
What a fun and unique night! The bar is beautiful with excellent drinks, and the magician behind it primes you for what’s to come. The theater is beautiful as well, magicians everywhere doing tricks at the tables before the show. Definitely go for premium tickets to get access to the private after show magic! Professional service with just the right amount of presence. Shoutout to Brooke who was very friendly and patient with my ticketing process!
Patrick H — Google review
Chicago Magic Lounge is one of the most unique and entertaining experiences the city has to offer. Hidden behind an unassuming façade, it transports you into a world of wonder the moment you step inside. The atmosphere is elegant and theatrical, with a speakeasy vibe that sets the perfect tone for an evening of magic and laughter. The performers are incredibly talented — blending humor, sleight of hand, and storytelling in a way that keeps the audience completely captivated. Whether you’re at the bar, in the main theater, or enjoying close-up magic at your table, every moment feels expertly crafted and full of surprise. Beyond the world-class entertainment, what truly elevates the Chicago Magic Lounge is the exceptional hospitality. The staff are friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about creating an unforgettable experience for every guest. Drinks and small bites are delicious and thoughtfully presented, adding to the overall charm of the night. It’s the perfect spot for date nights, celebrations, or simply anyone who loves live performance and a touch of mystery. Chicago Magic Lounge isn’t just a show — it’s an immersive experience that leaves you amazed long after you’ve left.
Cynthia W — Google review
That magic show was amazing! The food and drinks were top-notch, and the small theater was perfect. The magic acts were seriously incredible. Weekend shows start seating at 7 and 10 PM, and the speakeasy bar opens 45 minutes early. You get to see some magic show too. If you don't care about bar before the show you can just be there for the show. You should totally get premium tickets – you get an extra 30 minutes in the back room for even more magic! Three hours of awesome stuff.

Zoo
Zoos & Aquariums
Lincoln Park Zoo is a small, free zoo located near Lake Michigan in Chicago. It offers a diverse range of animal exhibits, including lions, primates, reptiles, and a children's area with an interactive farm exhibit. Visitors can observe snow monkeys relaxing in the hot springs of the Regenstein Macaque Forest and marvel at gorillas and chimpanzees in the expansive Regenstein Center for African Apes. The Pepper Family Wildlife Center features big cats separated by glass windows for safe viewing.
I always loved zoos since I was a kid but let me tell you this is the cleanest and the most beautiful zoo. Where do you get exhibits as well as beautiful gardens to sit in. I just LOVED IT! The boardwalk is so pretty, peaceful and relaxing. There are refreshments available to purchase on site. Parking is available for a price which is fine. If you find parking on the streets then that’s great too. Staff on the grounds are kind, courteous, and knowledgeable. Bathrooms are clean and so is the entire zoo. Plan a whole day to visit the zoo. There are lots of exhibits to see. I was there for at least 5 hours. Bring along water and snacks to eat. Kids will need strollers if your children are little. It’s is a huge zoo so make sure to plan the whole day well with food, drinks and lots of awesome energy! Have a lovely day! 😀

What a beautiful zoo, filled with a wide variety of animals! Admission is free for everyone. Exploring the entire zoo and all its sections will take at least 4 to 5 hours. The zoo features multiple observation decks and several areas dedicated to the same species. Some viewing spots are indoors, while others are outdoors, thoughtfully designed to comfortably accommodate large crowds simultaneously.

I love coming here. A great way to get steps in! There’s a stunning view of the city, and in the winter there’s zoo lights! Always have a great time here! It’s feee and super kid friendly. Popular spot for school field trips. There’s a cafe and plenty of places to sit and rest your feet if need be!

What a beautiful place to spend a weekend afternoon. This was my first visit to LPZ and would love to visit again. The place is massive so be prepared for a lot of walking. There’s so many different types of wildlife to see. On this particular day I only saw the lions and primates and a few other animals along the way. Though it was closed off I did get to see the Peoples Gas Pavilion (The Honeycomb) but think it would have been nicer had there not been so much brush and dead weed surrounding the area. Overall I think zoo is a great place to spend time alone or with friends and family.
T B — Google review
Great free city zoo. Took the train uptown and explored the entire park in just a couple hours. The lion and gorilla enclosures were so spacious and great. Loved seeing so many animals outside enjoying the crisp October air.
Chris W — Google review
Lincoln Park Zoo is fun. It is a joy. For anyone having grown up in Chicago, can you imagine having Lincoln Park taken away? Now consider it is next to Lake Michigan, can you see a better community without the lake? Well, Lincoln Park Zoo is woven into the culture of many communities, just like the lake is to the Great Lakes, which gives the shore its globally unique ecology. Yes, it’s free to attend! Praises in perpetuity to LPZ and all whom give the public access to culture through such magnanimous endeavors. Not even in imagination can I conclude an easy path for your scientific work, and public engagement to be easy for your mission. You are serving the nation across many disciplines. And if you are inclined to cycle Chicago to get here, the zoo is well appointed to force you to engage with nature. Because the trails are gripping the space between the sky scrappers and Lake Michigan. Having an iconic locale should be impact enough for a good day in Chicago. However, the predominantly brick architecture through the zoo is surprisingly equally positively jarring. It feels as if it helps to tell the story of where the zoo started, where it is, and where it is going. To my point, I do believe you, when you say you are helping the animals. Thank you.
M X — Google review
This Zoo has some good collection of Animals. They have a bunch of lions and some of them are interesting to watch. Each male lion has got multiple female lions to chill with. They have enough space for all the lions and the big viewing glass from inside the building allows visitors to enjoy a closer view of these amazing animals.
Khadeer K — Google review
Free zoo in Chicago with great atmosphere. We got there around 3:30 pm and saw the North side of the zoo before dusk. We had great timing. Heard the lions roar, saw the brown bears, heard the kookaburra laugh, and a giraffe. We hto there at Duke when animals were active and some were being fed. Left and the city lights were a great backdrop.

Steak house
Bavette's Bar & Boeuf is an elegant steakhouse offering a New American menu in a sophisticated ambiance of wood and brick. The restaurant stands out for its top-quality steaks, but it also offers exceptional non-steak entrees like fried chicken and lamb chops. The speakeasy atmosphere, 1920s jazz music, and Parisian-inspired decor create a unique dining experience. The cozy yet lively setting makes it popular among couples seeking a social dining environment.
Now this may be my new favorite restaurant. I’ve been on a mission to try all Hogsalt restaurants ever since I tried Trivoli Tavern for the first time last year. Bavette’s is taking it!! Visited last night and tried the salmon Caesar which is pretty consistent across all Hogsalt restaurants (I’ve tried it at Gilt Bar & Trivoli as well and it’s always phenomenal), the wagyu steak tartare, the burger and the ribeye steak frites. 10s across the board! I also loved the moody lighting and the service was absolutely fantastic. I also appreciate how they always give ice cream for special occasions! Can’t recommend it enough. I’d be back here multiple times a month if it weren’t so expensive lmao
Courtney J — Google review
This was my second visit to Bavette Bar & Boeuf, and it was just as great as I remembered from the first time I dined here. The dry-aged bone-in ribeye was outstanding, perfectly cooked and brushed with a rich mix of compound butter and bone marrow that added incredible depth and flavor. The sides were just as memorable. The truffle mac and cheese was the star of the table, while the creamed spinach with Gorgonzola was a close runner-up, creamy, bold, and perfectly balanced. The mashed potatoes were smooth and buttery, with roasted garlic cloves adding a nice contrast of texture and sweetness. To finish, the caramel gelato was absolutely decadent. The perfect ending to another exceptional meal. Bavette Bar & Boeuf continues to deliver on every level. Highly recommend for anyone who appreciates top-quality steaks and thoughtful, well-crafted sides.

We had an absolutely cozy and romantic vibe here. Even though it was busy, the place was quiet and very comforting. Service was exceptional and our waiter was very welcoming and polite. The oysters were to die for. Filet mignon and the skirt steaks were so juicy and delicious. Truffle Mac n cheese and creamy spinach melted in our mouths! Everything was so so so good! Thank you Bavettes!
George D — Google review
Food is a 9/10. Sizzling shrimp scampi slightly overcooked (it comes sizzling, so it's still cooking, with forgettable pieces of garlic bread). Wedge salad was amazing. Crab cake was incredible. Ordered the petite filet mignon and dry-aged bone-in Ribeye. Both were excellent. Truffle Mac & cheese and buttery mashed potatoes. Chocolate creme pie for dessert. Service is outstanding; our server was knowledgeable about everything we asked. Never felt rushed. $500 out the door with tip. Took 3 weeks to get a table for 2 in the dining room. Going to Bavettes seems to be a rite of passage for those who love trying all the best restaurants in Chicago. Overall a wonderful experience.
Nikki L — Google review
What can I say about this place? Go here and have a great time, good steak (and bone marrow), delicious wine, and a delicious chocolate cream pie. Sat at the bar and had the Lyonnaise Salad and glass of the table red (tempranillo) to start. Followed by ribeye steak frites with bone marrow. The steak was tender and expertly spiced and the bone marrow was buttery heaven. Finishing off the meal with chocolate cream pie was delightful, and proved to be too much food for one person! To accompany the amazing food was the great service and dark atmosphere - transports you to a jazzy and moody experience - perfect for a steak house. Loved the friendly and attentive bartenders. Recommended.

Delicious food, wonderful service. Thank you, Meredith and to the manager. Came here for my anniversary and we were taken care of in the parlor. Ordered the baked goat cheese which kind of reminded me of shakshuka, and the mixed green salad with apples, and steak frites (American Wagyu) with a garlic enhancement. I really enjoyed my dinner here and would go back. They paid great attention to detail and brought us delicious vanilla ice cream to celebrate our day. It was also delicious and you could taste the fresh vanilla bean. I’ll be back!

Sigh. Bavette’s. I miss you. We definitely ordered too much and I regret nothing. One of the best meals of my life. We started with the wedge salad - chopped up for ease and the BACON! So so delicious. It was thick cut and a bit sweet and absolute perfection. Paired well with the crab avocado salad. Crab cake was moist and the accompanying sauce was so tasty we saved it for the fries. The highlight of the meal, by and far, was the 42-day dry aged ribeye. I’ve never had steak so incredible before. I don’t like steak. But I LOVED this one. Every bite made me pause and contemplate how beautiful life is. The depth of flavour and marbling was just. Ugh. Get it. The double Wagyu burger was well done too, but we honestly did not need to add both the bacon and egg. We were visiting from out of town and in a food frenzy, it was a bit too rich with all of it. Maybe just the bacon, or just the egg, but it didn’t really need both. Obviously still ate it all. The sides were fantastic, the Brussels sprouts paired well and the truffle Mac was very truffley. I couldn’t breathe very easily by the end of the meal, so we got the carrot cake to go. I’m SO glad we did, it was divine. Service was professional, not very warm but fine. You can tell it’s a well oiled machine and that they’re used to being incredibly busy. Loved loved loved it 🩷🩷

I had a horrible experience at this restaurant. We paid $300, and the food was very, very low quality. I was really excited because it was supposed to be fine dining with high quality food, but instead it was below average and it even made my stomach hurt afterward. The burgers were below average (Shake Shack is way better) The chicken was also below average; it felt like I was eating at Cheesecake Factory, and honestly even Cheesecake Factory is better. Don’t set your expectations high for this restaurant. I genuinely feel like I was scammed 😂

Garfield Park Conservatory is a stunning horticultural center located within the expansive Garfield Park. This enchanting oasis spans about 12 acres and features an impressive variety of plants from around the world. Visitors can explore towering palm trees, fragrant orchids, seasonal blooms, and a traditional Moroccan fountain. The conservatory also houses the Desert House, showcasing a diverse collection of cacti and succulent plants.
I absolutely adore the Garfield Park Conservatory. It is a magnificent space filled with beautiful exotic plants of varied sizes and colors that are a feast for the eyes. My husband and I took countless photos with our large bridal party (total of 18 people) at this beautiful spacious place. We had plenty of beautiful and diverse places to take nature photos. With larger accessible walkways our group with ladies in heels could easily navigate to the many rooms of this huge conservatory to take all our dream photos within an hour. The windows throughout the conservatory provided beautiful natural light without the direct sun in our eyes, which made the wedding day comfortable and the photos come out stunning. We reserved our time slot tickets months in advance for all our bridal party, photographer, videographer and extra guests. Our party bus parked across the street and was able to pull up right in front of the conservatory to drop us off and pick us up without issue. We highly recommend this place for any occasion!

Garfield Park Conservatory is an absolute gem in the heart of Chicago! From the moment you walk in, you’re surrounded by lush greenery, vibrant blooms, and beautifully curated garden spaces. Each room offers something unique—from tropical rainforests to desert landscapes—and the attention to detail is truly impressive. It’s peaceful, educational, and a feast for the senses. Whether you’re a plant lover or just looking for a relaxing escape from the city, this place delivers. The staff is friendly and informative, and the conservatory is well-maintained. Best of all, admission is donation-based, making it accessible for everyone. Highly recommend spending a couple of hours here—it’s a great experience for all ages!

Such a lovely gem in Chicago! Reservations cost $10 and they have free parking. I went on a whim and was so glad that I did. Make sure to visit the outdoor area to get a nice little walk in. It is hot and humid in there so dress appropriately! Definitely recommend.

I almost cried when I first walked in, surrounded by such a vast assortment of carefully adored plants. I guess I’m a huge plant nerd. Experiencing the quiet power of such a wide variety of life taking root to define the structure is a sensory adventure of sight, smell, and touch. The decades of history each species has absorbed stretches, curls, and unfurls all the way to the ceiling, encapsulating you within their world as welcome friends to curiosity. It’s a sacred space to experience small pieces of our enormous world through the outstretched leaves of creatures so much older than our imaginations quest to comprehend. If you look really closely the best parts of all can be the tiny moments of silliness sprinkled throughout; a tiny toy tyrannosaur peeking through fronds, a portly desert potted plant gazing back at you with its googly eye, a neon orange plastic giraffe posed as if perusing the well watered display for an afternoon snack. There’s enormous opportunity for education, particularly with regard to native flora and promotion of environmental care. Monarch butterflies, for example, are incredible yet endangered beings and their host plant, milkweed, grows in over 30 different beautiful varieties as their food source. Different plants are best suited for importantly different parts of our world, and people and pollinators deserve to appreciate and take part in our lived symbiosis. This is a wonder filled place for environmental reverence.

This was a very nice conservatory. It has a lot of property and what is inside is quality and very nice. It is also easy to get to if you are taking the Metra train with a station right at the conservatory. Also, they have their own parking lot and it was not busy during the week, so easy to park. It is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays though. There is a nominal fee to enter, but if you show proof you live in Chicago, it is free. Also, we are members of another garden and we got in free with reciprocal membership.

the fern room was absolutely amazing! very affordable for non-residents. it is pretty warm/ humid (for the sake of the plants) so keep that in mind when choosing attire. also- i needed to change our entrance time after i already booked and it was very easy to do so via my confirmation email.

As a professional wedding officiant with Forever Incredible, I’ve had the absolute joy of working at the Garfield Park Conservatory many times—and every visit leaves me more in love with this incredible venue. It’s hands-down one of my favorite spots in all of Chicago for elopements, intimate celebrations, and full-sized weddings alike. The beauty of the Conservatory is truly unmatched. Each space—from the Fern Room to the Palm House—has its own unique charm and ambiance, creating a lush, romantic backdrop for any ceremony. No matter the season, it's a vibrant, living oasis in the heart of the city. The staff is consistently kind, welcoming, and professional. They always greet me with a smile and make sure I know exactly where I’m headed. Their hospitality and care help set the tone for a relaxed and joyful celebration. If you’re looking for a venue that feels like a natural wonderland while still being in Chicago, the Garfield Park Conservatory is it. I’m always honored to officiate ceremonies there and can’t recommend it highly enough.

Located on the 103rd floor of the former Sears Tower, Skydeck Chicago provides visitors with breathtaking views of four states. The unique viewing platform The Ledge lies 4ft outside the building dimensions and offers brave visitors unrivaled views over the city. With museum-quality exhibits and a 60-second ride up to the 103rd floor, Skydeck Chicago is a must-see attraction in Chicago.
Absolutely amazing experience! The little museum section before going up was a great surprise — very well done and full of interesting facts. The elevator ride up was fast and smooth, and then… the grand finale! Standing on the glass ledge and taking a photo “in the air” was just incredible. WoW! A must-do experience if you’re visiting the city.

From the moment we stepped into the Willis Tower, the excitement was real. The elevator ride up to the 103rd floor was fast and smooth, and the views? Absolutely breathtaking. You get a full panoramic look at Chicago’s skyline, Lake Michigan, and on a clear day, even parts of neighboring states! But the real highlight? The Ledge. 😱 These glass boxes extend out from the building, letting you stand 1,353 feet above the ground with nothing but glass beneath your feet. It was thrilling, surreal, and surprisingly not as scary as it looks! 🎉 The kids had an absolute blast! They were jumping, posing, and laughing the whole time. It was so heartwarming to see them enjoy something so unique and adventurous. The staff were super friendly and helped us get some great photos too.

We visited the Skydeck totally spontaneously on a Saturday night and had such a great experience! We were originally going to buy tickets at the self-checkout kiosk, but the prices were pretty high, so I checked online and found a much better deal through Tripster. The tickets were emailed instantly and we walked right in with the barcodes. Before reaching the ledge, you go through a really well-done museum with interactive displays about Chicago’s history, architecture, and the Willis Tower. It definitely adds to the whole experience. Once you get to the Skydeck, the line looks long but moves quickly and efficiently. We actually got to go out on the ledge multiple times and take plenty of photos. They take one professional photo from above, then you get 90 seconds to take your own. At the end, all the photos taken of you get uploaded to a card they give you, and you can download a few digital postcards for free. Even though it was raining the night we went, the views were still breathtaking. It’s a little pricey, but honestly worth it — it’s not something you do every day, and the views alone make it memorable. We’d love to come back on a clear day to get more pictures together. Highly recommend for both locals and visitors!

🌇 Review: Skydeck Chicago – Willis Tower The Skydeck at Willis Tower in Chicago is truly one of the most thrilling and memorable experiences the city has to offer. Located on the 102nd floor of this iconic skyscraper (formerly known as Sears Tower), it offers a breathtaking 360-degree view of the entire city and Lake Michigan. The building itself is a marvel of engineering — constructed decades ago yet still standing as one of the tallest and most resilient structures in the world. You can actually feel and hear the gentle response of the building to strong winds, a reminder of its flexible yet sturdy design. Every year, the tower is struck by 50 to 60 lightning bolts, and its lightning protection system effectively neutralizes the charges — a fascinating aspect of its engineering brilliance. The highlight of the visit is definitely The Ledge — a glass balcony extending about 1.5 meters (4.3 feet) out from the main structure, allowing you to literally stand above the city and look straight down through the transparent glass floor. It’s a thrilling, once-in-a-lifetime experience that blends excitement with awe. The lift ride to the 102nd floor is smooth and fast, with an engaging video presentation about the building’s history during the ascent. The visitor area is well-organized, and staff are courteous and helpful. The surrounding shopping area and exhibits about Chicago’s history make the visit even more worthwhile. Overall, Skydeck Chicago is a must-visit destination for anyone exploring the Windy City — whether you’re a traveler, engineer, photographer, or just someone who wants to see the world from above. The experience perfectly captures the spirit of Chicago: innovation, strength, and beauty.

The view was beautiful! And it’s great that they allow you to take your own pictures. They do take some, but you have to pay extra for them in the end. We went at night so we could see the lights which was perfect for me. There was also a cute little attraction on the history of Chicago before you go up.

Skydeck Chicago is one of the most unforgettable attractions in the city and absolutely worth a visit. Located on the 103rd floor of the Willis Tower, it offers a stunning panoramic view of Chicago that stretches for miles — you can even see parts of four states on a clear day! The elevator ride is super fast and smooth, and once you reach the top, the view will take your breath away. The highlight, of course, is The Ledge — the glass boxes that extend out from the building. Standing on it feels both exciting and terrifying at the same time, but it’s a must for anyone visiting. The staff are friendly and patient, helping everyone get great photos safely. The exhibits before the elevator ride are also very well done, giving you insight into Chicago’s history and architecture. It can get busy, especially around sunset, so booking tickets online ahead of time is highly recommended. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a local seeing the city from a new angle, Skydeck Chicago offers an experience that’s thrilling, beautiful, and uniquely Chicago.

The Willis Tower Skydeck is a must visit when in Chicago. It gives you a unique birds eye prospective of the amazing architecture this city encompasses! During your visit, have your phone cameras out and ready to deploy as you will want to take as many breathtaking photos of the skyline and building tops. Best time to visit is around dusk, right when the sun's about to set and the city lights turn on... Be sure to pop your ears up on your way up and down and have a great time!

Wow! Great experience — we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We especially loved exploring the museum before heading up to the top deck. The exhibits included popular historic landmarks and famous figures from Chicago, which really added to the experience. The top deck offered stunning views of the skyline, and it was a highlight of our visit. Access to The Ledge required an additional wait, but it was well organized — each group was allowed 90 seconds to enjoy and take photos once it was their turn. Definitely worth the wait!

Navy Pier, a former Navy training center turned iconic Chicago landmark, is a beloved destination for families and tourists alike. This 3,000-foot pier offers a vibrant atmosphere with carnival rides, diverse dining options, bars, and free entertainment such as live music and street performers. Visitors can also enjoy the IMAX Theater, the enchanting indoor Crystal Gardens filled with soaring palm trees, the Children's Museum, and breathtaking views of Lake Michigan.
We had a fantastic time at Navy Pier with the kids! The highlights were definitely the thrilling SeaDog ride (with incredible views) and the fun rides at Pier park like the Wave Swinger. The Ferris wheel is a classic for a reason ..great for a relaxed view of everything. Food-wise, we were all happy with the burgers from Salt... the kids of course loved their Ben & Jerry's ice-cream after.. FlyOver Chicago was another fun indoor activity that the kids enjoyed. All in all, a perfect family day full of great sights and fun, a must go..if you're visiting Chicago.

Wonderful place to visit. We walked from downtown and explored the parks, monuments, and pier. We also rode the ferris wheel and shopped/ate. The day was lovely and the views of Lake Michigan, peaceful. It was not as crowded as the weekend, so it made for a nice end to our Chicago trip.

You can get out on the water with the many available boat trips, from serene architecture tours to thrilling speedboat rides. When hunger strikes, the excellent food options range from quick snacks to sit-down meals with a view. Beyond that, there are multiple activities to fill a whole day, from the iconic Ferris wheel and carousel to live entertainment and gardens. It's the perfect place for a fun-filled outing where you're guaranteed to feel the energetic pulse of the city.

Navy Pier is one of Chicago’s most iconic attractions and a must-visit for anyone exploring the city. It offers stunning views of Lake Michigan and the city skyline, along with plenty of restaurants, shops, and entertainment options. Whether you’re taking a ride on the Centennial Wheel, enjoying a boat tour, or just walking along the pier, the atmosphere is vibrant and full of energy. A perfect place to relax, take beautiful photos, and experience the true spirit of Chicago!

Navy Pier truly captures the spirit of Chicago! Gorgeous lakefront views, great food options, and a lively atmosphere all day long. Perfect for a relaxing walk, photos, or just soaking in the city’s vibe. They also have music festivals every other weekend, mainly on Saturdays. There are river front cruises that board people from navy pier and take you through the city and show you the historical buildings of Chicago. There are well maintained restrooms. There are a couple of places to eat but you may find them a little pricy. Note: Saturdays are packed with people. Sundays are a bit quieter Weekdays are way more quieter unless it's a long holiday. No tickets required to enter the pier but for cruises and Yatchs you do need to buy tickets, which you can get online or in premises. In case you are taking the boat rides, plan ahead.

I recently had the pleasure of being flown out to visit Chicago for the first time and was blown away by its AH-someness 🥰 I mean, who knew it was so pretty? It's an ideal spot to kill several hours, and boy, did we ever. They've got a crazy range of attractions, including a butterfly house, grub so good you'll want to roll around in it, tours, and boat rides. We took a sweet stroll and dug the views. I highly recommend moseying on down to Navy Pier, which offers a totally stunning view of the Chicago skyline and a party atmosphere. I'm totally recommending it and I'm already planning my next trip 🛩

I wanted a place to go in Chicago without fighting all the traffic but still getting to see Lake Michigan and the downtown buildings. This was perfect! Beautiful views of the city, and if you take the Centennial wheel, you get to see incredible views 360 degrees around! There was food, music, drinks and more available depending upon time of the year, week, day, etc. I went in February once and still had a wonderful time! Parking on the pier was easy and accessible, but expensive.
Kristina S — Google review
Navy Pier is an excellent destination for a family outing, offering plenty of fun for kids and adults alike. A long building extends down the length of the pier, housing a wide array of shops and restaurants where you can explore local food and browse for souvenirs. You'll find everything from casual bites to more upscale dining options. For a fun time, head to the second floor near the entrance to find a small playground and a carousel, perfect for keeping young children entertained. Outside the building, you can board one of several boats for a scenic cruise. You won't have to worry about finding food, drinks, or gifts, as there are many options to choose from inside the building. The pier also has some great beer stands where you can grab a local brew to enjoy while you walk. It's a nice perk that you're allowed to drink on the pier itself, as long as you finish your beverage before you leave.

New American restaurant
Restaurant
Alinea is a renowned restaurant led by Chef Grant Achatz, known for its innovative New American tasting menus. The husband-and-wife team behind the restaurant also runs The Loyalist, which focuses on farm-fresh fare, and Smyth, an upscale eatery with a Michelin star. Smyth offers ingredient-focused dishes like Dungeness crab with saltwater-poached foie gras and scrambled kani miso.
The team at Alinea really put on a fantastic show—it was one of the most joyful Michelin meals we’ve had. Every course had its own little secret, and the overall experience was full of surprises. That said, while the performance and creativity far exceeded our expectations, the food itself was a bit underwhelming in terms of flavor. The dishes tasted good, but I’d rate them at a lower-tier Michelin two-star level. Still, there were standouts: the salmon and the liquid-nitrogen-frozen ice cream at the end were both truly impressive, and easily the highlights of the night from a taste perspective.
Daxin — Google review
This may be the most exciting meal I’ve ever eaten. It’s a place where spoilers should not be shared so I’ll withhold much of the experience, but Grant Achatz and his team delivers one of the most extraordinary dining experiences possibly anywhere on the planet. I was able to secure a seat at the Gallery after a last minute cancellation, and while I cannot speak to the experience at the Salon, I would highly encourage trying the Gallery if you are at all fortunate enough to be able to make the reservation. The whole night was an experience straight out of The Menu (except you get to go home at the end of the night). There’s a lot of talk saying Alinea’s not able to top the creativity that they used to be famed for, but if this is your first time and having had the experience before, I would argue it’s worth experiencing for yourself since it would still obviously be a fresh new experience for you. That said, if I ever have the chance, I would personally do this all over again.

An absolutely amazing experience. I would highly recommend you go as a group to get full advantage of what they offer. Definitely a once in a lifetime experience for most. Food was out of this world and so unique. The experience was even better. Definitely a special occasion type place.
Robert G — Google review
My first return after visiting 10 years ago. While the presentation has changed, the quality of the experience has not. My companion and I agreed on two areas for improvement. First, the arrival experience is not optimal. With the Gallery experience, most people arrive a few minutes prior to the service time. There were 12 of us jammed into the foyer area. Also, the staff were friendly and professional but seemed stressed and a bit disorganized, creating a less relaxed atmosphere. Chef Achatz was notably in Japan on this date, so perhaps that was part of it. Our Fossil "toolkit" was missing some items- a rare missed detail. This was quickly corrected. The food has gotten even more inventive and the Gallery is an amazing culinary adventure. Alinea remains an unparalleled experience.

Families with kids can enjoy 'Sensing Chicago,' where children can experience what life in the city was like in the past.
This is a great museum to explore Chicago's amazing history! There are not extensive collections to see but rather art mixed with story boards making it more fun, informative and engaging! I recently visited the Chicago History Museum, and honestly, I was blown away! 💙 The building itself is gorgeous — bright, spacious, and full of character. You can truly feel the spirit of the city the moment you walk in. Everything is so well organized and thoughtfully designed — from the layout of the exhibits to the smallest details. The exhibitions are amazing! You can explore Chicago’s story from the early settlers and the Great Fire of 1871 all the way to modern times. There are tons of interesting artifacts, old photographs, maps, and even interactive displays where you can really “touch” history. I especially loved the old cars, the detailed models of historic Chicago, and all the personal items connected to famous people. The atmosphere is incredible — calm, inspiring, and full of life. The staff are friendly, and the audio guides make it easy to dive deeper into each part of the city’s past. I spent several hours there, and time just flew by. It’s a beautiful museum and a must-visit for anyone who loves history or simply wants to feel the real soul of Chicago. 🇺🇸✨

It was a very nice visit and learned the comprehensive history of Chicago as a city and its role in America. The exhibit was engaging and interactive which made learning fun and interesting. The museum was quiet and located in Lincoln Park which made it easy to take a nice stroll afterwards on a sunny day (we went on a rainy day 😞)

An easy 5-stars. This is an excellent museum with amazing insights into Chicago past and present. From a home to the indigenous to a fur trading post for the French, British and then American, and then literally a key crossroads for the USA. The exhibits are well laid out and marked. There are a couple free hour long guided tours available for free, check local timings. Tickets are cheaper on Groupon so consider getting it there. Free bag / coat check to keep all your backpacks. A nice cafe on site. A gift store as well (was closed for maintenance the day we went). Parking is at 1730 N Stockton, bring your parking ticket for validation for $10 all day parking! PS: Disappointed that on the day we visited, the American History Wing was with a couple of nice exhibit sections were closed to the public. The Museum Store was interesting but was closed for maintenance that day as well.

No surprise but Chicago has a lot of history! The museum offers a clear, engaging look at Chicago’s history and its role in America, with interactive exhibits that make learning genuinely fun. It’s quiet, located in Lincoln Park, and perfect for a stroll on a sunny day. I was impressed by the range of exhibits from early history to modern developments. The Emmett Till exhibit was especially powerful. Staff were courteous and helpful.

What a lovely place. I decided to check this out after moseying around Lincoln Park Zoo today. The ticket staff were incredibly friendly and polite, even gave me reccommendations on the best order to start with the exhibitions. I really loved seeing Chicago's first L car, and the 13,000 mass of congealed iron from the Great Chicago Fire outside on the History Trail. The Emmett Till exhibition brought me to tears, and really changed the way I think about racial violence in this country. It'll never be real, but the sorrow I felt the entire exhibit really gave me a new perspective as a white man, something I haven't had to been exposed to before. I feel like the Abraham Lincoln Exhibition could include more actual artifacts, but it was also incredible to see the actual bed Lincoln died on. I didn't even finish all the whole museum, I only got through the Beginnings of Chicago and the Industrial Revolution, Abe Lincoln, and Emmett Till. (I actually needed to go sit in the park and reflect after the Till Exhibit). I look foward to coming back to see the rest! Also worth noting, the shop is incredibly overpriced. The cafe is adorable and the lemonade is great, I felt inconsiderate showing up close to closing, but I was getting dehydrated from a long day in the park. The barista was still incredibly friendly and I tipped 100% to make up for it. Wonderful Museum, definitely give yourself a good amount of time because there is a huge amount to see!

I love visiting the our number one first elevated train car. All of the amazing exhibits and artifacts from a history of a proud and beautiful metropolitan metropolis. Learning new things about the city. Although I'm very well aversed in my city. It's always great to find something new that you didn't know. Small little bits of history and facts that bring a smile to your face or bring a tear to your eye. The museum is not to be missed!! Just head on down to the corner of Clark and North Avenue.

Fondue restaurant
Geja's Cafe, a charming establishment that has been serving fondue and wine since 1965, is a popular spot for romantic occasions such as Valentine's Day and proposals. Nestled in the basement of Lincoln Park, this restaurant exudes an intimate ambiance with its candlelit setting and live classical guitar performances.
Delicious fondue menu. You start with lots of cheesy goodness, followed by your choice of meaty and seafood goodness, then end with a flaming chocolate fondue. So great. Service was amazing. Cocktails are superb.

Very romantic place!! From the moment you enter the atmosphere tells you this is a date night place. It was actually so dark that you had to use the candles or your phone to see the menus. All the staff was extremely kind and knowledgeable. The first course cheese dip and the third course dessert was exceptional. The second course portions were fairly small, and you had to be very careful not to under or overcook the food. Make sure you bring extra cash.... If you're on a budget like me, the check with the tip and valet parking can be a bit overwhelming. It was a great experience but next time we will go someplace where we don't have to work so hard for our dinner...lol.

So yeah, very suitable for solo dates as well, don’t hesitate to come in if you don’t have a company!

First night here celebrating my anniversary. The ambience was so intimate and romantic. Every single employee we came into contact with was incredibly friendly and seemed just so happy to be there. The guy taking our coats was such a friendly and kind man. Our server was extremely knowledgeable and the guy at the front was so sweet. The food was outstanding. You get so much food, you’ll leave stuffed! We will definitely be returning!

I had been wanting to go to this restaurant for a long while now and my plans, hopes and dreams finally came through last night. One of the best restaurants I’ve been to! Staff is absolutely wonderful and attentive. The food is exceptional. And no better way to enjoy the food and ambiance here than listening to a live guitar musician playing a flamenco in the background! I really recommend this spot!!! We had the Premier fondue experience which is a must here! The protein I ordered and highly recommend is lobster tail. Leave some room for the dessert drinks (espresso martini!) and the chocolate fondue. You can also make some s’mores!!!

Geja’s has a super lovely and intimate ambience, perfect for a cozy night out. We had the Premier Dinner, starting with a rich cheese fondue that paired perfectly with bread, fruit, and veggies. The hot oil course featured beef, lobster, and shrimp, with the spicy aioli and chimichurri being our favorites. I especially enjoyed the lobster and shrimp, while the steak was less memorable. Dessert was a decadent flaming chocolate fondue with a rich and indulgent finish. Always a hearty and memorable visit!

The food was delicious and waiters were wonderful, this review would be 5 stars for the restaurant itself, BUT the valet (Modern Parking Services) didn’t listen to the instructions for how to run the car even after we gave them instructions five times, and then after dinner we discovered they ran out both our GAS AND BATTERY while we were inside so the car needed both a jump AND gas after leaving. And of course there was no assistance, refund, or apology. Do NOT trust the valet if you come here. I highly recommend Gejas seek alternate valet service as I will not be returning due to this issue that ruined what would have been a lovely night.

Great atmosphere for a date night. Very cozy feel despite moderate noise on the inside. The overall decor and feel.of the place was warm and inviting with friendly staff. We had the cheese fo due followed by dessert. The cheese came out melted but was almost cool. After it heated up it was a little better. The food served with it was fresh and the price considering the area was reasonable. The dessert chocolate was good, we would have preferred a white chocolate but we were never asked. Once we ordered the cheese and chocolate and not the full 3 course, our server wasn't as interested in us. Overall, would definitely recommended.

What a unique place! We went for unbridled. We had so much fun. Our food was amazing as well and the service was perfect. I had short rib ragu, the meat was so tender and juicy the pasta was flavorful it was so good. Also way too much food but I couldn't stop eating! My husband had the roasted chicken and his willpower was better than mine, he was able to take some home. When we made our reservation we let them know it was our anniversary, and they surprised us with dessert! Beyond the food, the show was amazing. My husband had never been to anything like that before, but he was raving about how much fun he had. Amazing evening, thank you for the great food, the wonderful service, and the fabulous show!

We had such a great time here! The service was amazing, the food was delicious, and the whole atmosphere made our visit really enjoyable. We came to celebrate my birthday, and everything was perfect. A special thanks to Andy, the manager. he was fantastic and made the night extra special. Highly recommend this place!

This was my second time at Untitled Supper Club, and it was just as amazing as the first. I love the vibe and atmosphere. It’s such a cool, elegant space that makes you feel like you’re in on a little secret. The food is delicious, the service is always solid, and the live music just takes the whole experience up a notch. Also, the cornbread? Hands down the best I’ve had anywhere. Portions are huge, so keep that in mind when ordering. Everything is super shareable.

We’re burlesque fans and have been to shows in several places. The performers at Unbridled were enthusiastic, some talented, some not so much. The MC was fun and we enjoyed the show. They could do better with the programming so it builds. It was kind of haphazard. Our waitress, Crystal, was great. The main detractor is the Loud music!!! The music between sets is just way too load. Can’t hold a conversation or hear yourself think. Bring earplugs and take them out for the show part. Yep, I’m old, but I still have my hearing in my 60s.

This was a perfect cap to our final night in Chicago. The vibe was like an underground speakeasy. The service was excellent, food was great and the band, Stacy Bass put on a fine show. Our server, Jay kept a great smile as she made sure we and all of those patrons in her charge were cared for. I enjoyed the best prime rib ever! Go to the Untitled Super Club the next time you are in Chicago. You will not regret it.

This place is a hidden gem. I first went there for a girl's trip last year and saw a burlesque show. This year, I went with my husband to see a tribute to Natalie Cole and Chaka Chan. The band Queensville did an amazing job; the singer C Minor can sing. They have over 900 types of alcohol at the bar. Our bartender, Chris was knowledgeable about bourbon, which my husband loves to talk about. I love the speakeasy vibe.

I visited this supper club not long ago, and it was quite the evening. The food had its highlights—some dishes were inventive and tasty, though a few of the smaller plates felt a little underwhelming given the price. The staff were polished and professional, always visible and ready to help, especially when our party had questions about the menu. The ambiance is steeped in vintage glamour and moody lighting, with live performances that elevate the overall feel. It is, however, quite loud during showtime, so conversations get a bit strained at moments.

Restaurant
Bistro Campagne is an elegant restaurant offering a rotating menu of French countryside cuisine. Tucked away on Lincoln Avenue, the bistro features a charming outdoor patio with lush greenery and a cozy courtyard adorned with brick walls and ivy. The interior exudes warmth with wood accents and tablecloths, creating an intimate atmosphere for diners.
Everything, EVERYTHING we ordered, was phenomenal! From the cheeses to dessert. We tried each other dishes and were delighted with flavors and perfect seasoning. It’s hard to cook the birds where they are moist yet the duck and chicken dishes were top notch! Our waitress was a lovely lady in a pretty flowery dress. French country vibes. Cute ceiling lamps. Can’t wait to come back when it gets warm and get a table on the patio. PS: get a bottle of red wine and tartar appetizer. You will not regret it.

This bistro is a rare find. It's an enchanting, quiet little spot that feels like a true Parisian escape. It has all the elegance and luxury you could want, but without any of the stuffiness. The real highlight is the staff—they are the most humble, kind, and attentive people. You can tell they genuinely love to take care of you. It felt less like a restaurant and more like being a treasured guest. A truly special experience. We will be back!

Dinner with reservation before a movie at Davis Theater. Had the French onion soup, Poulet Rotí Amish 1/2 Chicken without a lot of bones and flavorful mushroom cream sauce, would have liked more sauce with the large chicken breast to keep it moist. Couple glasses of wine and finished with the Pain Perdu bread pudding. Excellent attentive service! Multiple seating areas in & outside, front gated patio garden area will be lovely when it is warmer. Enjoyable dinner.
Tammy O — Google review
As part of a special occasion, we decided to try Bistro Campagne for dinner. We started with the Steak Tartare and French Onion Soup, both of which were pretty good. I ordered the Truite Amandine with the Gratin de Macaroni and Pleurotes, and everything I had tasted good. Unfortunately, others in my group were less impressed with their meals. On top of that, the service fell short of expectations for a restaurant at this level, as our server was not very attentive. Overall, it was a mixed experience. It was not negative, but it was not as memorable as we had hoped.
Andrew W — Google review
We had dinner here and absolutely loved it. The space itself is very cozy and has a rustic vibe. I liked how the space is laid out as it's a series of different rooms rather than one large open space. There is a really cute patio area too, but it was closed due to weather. The service was very friendly. Our server was awesome, knowledgeable about the menu, and attentive. We started with cocktails then got a bottle of wine, which we loved. The wine selection has a little bit of everything. The food was fantastic. We each started with the french onion soup, which was perfect. We split a house salad, the steak frites, and the whitefish dish. All of it was so delicious, well flavored, and perfectly cooked. I'd definitely recommend this place and we look forward to returning.
Ryan K — Google review
We had a lovely dining experience with overall satisfying food. We opted for outdoor patio dining on a cool summer night, and the vibe was wonderful. The service was friendly and attentive throughout our meal. We focused on small plates to try a variety of dishes. The highlights were the Steak Tartare, the Chicken Liver Pate, and the French Onion Soup. The escargot had a lighter flavor than expected but was still rich and garlicky. The poached scallop had too many competing flavors and felt like a slight miss. We were quite full by the time we reached the gnocchi, but we still enjoyed its flavor which included hearty vegetables, mushroom, and goat cheese. Overall, it was a very satisfying meal, and we were happy with the variety we got to try out.
Bill W — Google review
Ordered the chickpea fries and mussels to start, lamb and gnocchi for our entries, and the bread pudding for dessert. The chickpea fries are a skip - lacked any flavor. The garlic sauce on the mussels was so garlicy and good. The gnocchi is the all-star - loved all the mushrooms and creaminess of the sauce. The lamb was done really well. The bread pudding was an awesome surprise - it's not overly sweet and had good amount of spices. Service was mediocre. Waitress is really nice but was a bit distracted since she forgot to put in part of our order. The restaurant itself is cute and intimate. Would recommend to a friend for a nice date night out.

Aba is a chic destination offering elevated Mediterranean cuisine and cocktails, with a lounge-style rooftop patio. The lush urban rooftop is helmed by bartender Liz Pearce, featuring rare Mediterranean wines and spirits, as well as reserve cocktails like the 5th Generation margarita. Top Chef alum CJ Jacobson's menu includes flavor-packed plates such as short rib hummus and char-grilled lamb chops.
Gorgeous, lively atmosphere paired with fantastic food and cocktails made this spot unforgettable. The servers were warm and attentive, and even small details like the clean restrooms stood out. The dishes were beautifully presented — almost too pretty to eat — and tasted just as good as they looked. Our waiter was excellent, offering thoughtful recommendations that really elevated the meal. Compliments to both the chef and the entire staff for creating such a memorable dining experience.

We went to Aba for brunch and it was such a great experience! They recommend at least 4 items for 2 people, and every dish we tried was excellent and absolutely mouthwatering. The Mediterranean cuisine with a California influence makes the flavors so fresh and unique. Both the outdoor patio and indoor seating are beautiful , definitely a place worth visiting. I love their food and enjoyed every bite! Want to visit again during lunch time!

Through and through this is a 5 star joint. The food is incredible, well plated and paired incredibly well with the bottle of orange wine. The garlic hummus is a must try, the pita was fresh, and the steak frites was cooked to perfect temperature. This is a must visit place for me everytime I’m in Chicago. Make sure to make a reservation, but if not, put in your name and go down the street to grab a drink, this spot is well worth the wait! A bit on the pricier side, but the food is definitely worth the cost! Great place for a business meal, or just to try out some small plates with your buddies!

Alright y'all. This was one of the best meals I've had in recent memory. The moment you step inside this place, you know you're in for something great. Every single thing we ordered was delicious. We went for happy hour and tried the dip trio (hummus/feta/eggplant) and each one was amazing. Believe it or not, they do a great margarita too. Also, if you like lamb, GET IT! perfectly cooked (medium rare for us) and the flavor was incredible. Service was 10/10. You will not be disappointed. There's a reason why this place has a near perfect score with 6,000+ reviews. Cheers.

Let’s start off with the good. The atmosphere is gorgeous. The city view was grand. The lighting and the foliage were beautiful. I’ve traveled to Chicago a handful of times, and I’ve enjoyed Aba in the past. Every time I visit I try to make an effort to come here and eat! It was THE first restaurant my best friend took me too, and I wanted to celebrate here for my birthday—however it was anything but nice. The hostess was welcoming. Our server acted like she didn’t want us there. It was far from being welcoming. She rarely checked up on us. It seemed as if us being there was trouble for her. This was not how past experiences was. For me going to a nice restaurant I highly judge the service. This was not it. However the people who ran the food were lovely and kind. The food was not as good or close to good as I remembered. Maybe they were having an off night. We had hummus with the short ribs it was not as tender or big in portion size as I remembered. The pita bread was STILL SO AMAZING! The chicken thigh had a sour taste, and I felt as if the profile of the dish did not complement one another. The salmon was good but it wasn’t special …the steak frites were def the best of what we ordered but like it wasn’t amazing … the shrimp dish that came like escargot needs to be reevaluated…the shrimp was over cooked and just didn’t understand the presentation. I also had a mocktail and I felt like they used to be better. I truly wanted to love eating here and have a special time due to it also being my birthday. It was disappointing. Aba vs girl and the goat (though different foods same price range) I would rather spend my money at girl and the goat.
Terri V — Google review
Pricey! But great service at the bar. Eddie is a cool, friendly server. I ordered the crispy chicken thighs and my partner order the steak frites. We took the green line here. The hostess was meh. I wouldn’t come back but I don’t regret trying this place. Ambiance is cool and dim-lit. Nice date spot or hang with friends. Keep in mind it’s busy on weekends.
Naijayemm — Google review
Aba in Chicago was absolutely incredible! Definitely one of the top restaurants I’ve ever enjoyed. We were a group of four and ordered about 10 dishes to share, and every single one was spot on. The garlic hummus, eggplant, potatoes, falafel, whipped feta, fries, brussels sprouts, scallops, pork belly, salmon, and steak were all bursting with flavor and tasted fresh and authentic. The standout for me was how balanced and thoughtfully prepared each dish was. The only thing that wasn’t my personal favorite was the added sweetness in the Brussels sprouts, I’m more of a savory girlie and prefer salty over sweet, but that’s just me. The ambiance was lovely, lively, and warm, with such a great vibe throughout the night. Between the food, service, and atmosphere, Aba truly lives up to the hype and is a must-visit spot in Chicago!!

The experience here was *chef kiss*. From thr service to the food, everything was hands down amazing. When my group of 3 girlfriends & I walked in, we were greeted with a warm smile & bright welcome. They were super accommodating for us even though we were running behind (we did call in to let them know we were running late). The servers were super knowledgeable about the menu from food to cocktails. This was my first experience in a Chicago restaurant & they made it so awesome. Can't wait to come back! ☺️

Great food, and enjoyed Ahoo and Edilson the most during the show; great dancers! Our server Huda was very friendly and attentive. Solid Arabic food with live entertainment doesn’t get better than that. The atmosphere is unmatched. I was slightly disappointed by certain foods for not living up to my expectations however. Some of the kebobs were not as flavorful as I have had at other Arabic places. It was overall still a great experience.

Fine dining at its best! We were visiting Chicago for the holidays. So, there were lots of restaurant options. Still, finding a place that is welcoming with top service and quality can be hit & miss. We were searching for seafood and selected Truluck's. From the moment we walked in, we knew we had found a gem. We were greeted with a warm welcome and seated right away (reservations are a good idea). Our server introduced us to the menu. Out taste buds came alive. Just the right amount of attention. We found the atmosphere cozy and calming - soft music in the background and not too loud. Our Halibut and Scallops selections were over the top wonderful with perfectly cooked asparagus. While there wasn't room for dessert, we saw many sure to please options. Pricing was more than fair for great quality and an enjoyable experience. Looking for seafood and a great destination? Truluck’s in Rosemont, IL was the perfect spot to celebrate our anniversary—and it completely exceeded expectations. From the moment we walked in, everything was exceptional. The ambiance was elegant and intimate, setting the tone for a romantic evening. We were lucky enough to have Francine as our server, and she was absolutely phenomenal. Her service was warm, attentive, and truly made us feel celebrated. Every detail, from the anniversary card to the personalized touch of the flaming dessert, showed how much care and thought goes into the guest experience here. The cocktails were beautifully crafted and delicious—we had a few and loved every sip. The food was just as impressive: perfectly prepared, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every bite felt like a celebration in itself. The surprise flaming dessert at the end was such a showstopper, and honestly the cherry on top of an unforgettable night. My boyfriend and I felt so pampered and appreciated—it was one of those evenings we’ll be talking about for years to come. If you’re looking for a place to celebrate something special—or just want a five-star dinner and incredible service—run to Truluck’s. Truly a phenomenal experience. Came here for my 30th birthday and Christi the server and Blake the manager went out of their way to accommodate us, check in on us, take pictures for us etc. Highly recommend the fried calamari and the chicken bites. The chef selection oysters were from East and West coast and if you’re an oyster person these ones were fresh and briny. We also had the meatballs/filet sliders that were good. The cocktail selection was unmatched as they have drinks for everyone no matter if you like boozy, fruity, refreshing, or well balanced they all were good. For my birthday they brought out Baked Alaska which was rich. My only regret is that we didn’t order more food! This experience was probably one of the best I’ve had in Chicago/surrounding area. This place is perfect to impress your business partners or your mother in law. The food, service, and ambiance will not disappoint.

The place itself was beautiful — bright, clean, and perfectly set up for a fun and unforgettable time. The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming, offering outstanding service that made everything feel smooth and enjoyable. Whether it was helping us learn the game or just checking in to make sure we were having fun, they went above and beyond. The laughter, lights, and energy made the whole experience feel special. Urban Kayaks in Chicago offers a youth class for kids aged 10 to 16, teaching them kayaking and paddleboarding skills. The classes run for five days and include swimming, sports, games, arts and crafts. The small group setting allows kids to socialize and make new friends while learning water activities. Urban Kayaks also provides various tours along the Chicago River, showcasing historic sites in the city.
Such an unforgettable experience! Kayaking on the Chicago River was already magical, with the city lights reflecting on the water and the stunning architecture all around. But the highlight was definitely watching the fireworks from the kayak—it felt so special and unique, like a private show above the river. The tour was well-organized, and the guides made sure everyone felt safe and comfortable. A perfect mix of adventure and beauty—highly recommend if you're looking for something different to do in Chicago!
Arina — Google review
You go with a large group down the river on river walk. It’s very easy to kayak and your with multiple guides. From the website it said you have to have kayaking experience however there was a lot of people in our group who had 0 experience. The farther you go is based on your group and how well people can keep up. There was too many people to really enjoy it, they were crashing into you or just in the way. The guides were fantastic and it is very beautiful to see the city. I did have better views however from the a tour boat and it was less money! Fun to do once tho and I’m glad we did it at least once. Also it’s super easy to get in and out of the kayak from the launching area, that was great! They do give you “lessons” on how to kayak prior to leaving. Maybe a better experience for beginners.
Vickie P — Google review
We joined a Saturday fireworks tour and take enjoyed it. The guide led us in a very professional and safe way, which was important because the river is crowded with boats coming to see the fireworks. People wanting a more relaxed experience may want to choose a daytime tour, but it's you're set on the fireworks, Urban Kayaks is the way to go. No clown show about it.

Incredibly fun activity. Cannot recommend this enough. The most fun thing I've done in Chicago. Far more enjoyable than the architecture boat tour. A little intimidating being close to the big boats but the boat is very easy to control

First time kayaking and it was AMAZING! 🔥🔥🔥 Did the "Intro Paddle" session with Urban Kayaks on the Chicago River. It was super beginner-friendly, fun, and well organized. Big shoutout to 🔥Dana Kazerooni🔥, our guide : absolute legend! Great energy, super welcoming, and made the whole experience unforgettable ✨️ 100% recommend if you're in Chicago. A must-do!

Incredible experience with an exceptional staff. The guides are very patient, respectful and you can tell that they enjoy what they do. Also, one of my party members had to cancel the night before and they were able to give me a full refund. I highly recommend. The best things to do in Chicago 100%

11/10 experience on the sunset kayak tour! this is an absolute MUST during the summer. the views of the city can’t be beat and it’s a totally different experience than the architecture tour. our tour guide was Quinn and he was awesome! he made the tour super fun and interesting. definitely will be on this tour again!

Recently moved to the area and as a long time, avid kayak guy was looking for not only easy access to the river and lake, but great ‘non-tourist focused’ services, membership vs 1 time pricing and gear. Urban Kayaks over-delivered with not only an amazing staff each and every time I get on the water, but allow me to use a more suitable boat, have river and lake options, and the in / out pier set up is fantastic. Huge fan, get the membership — so worth it!

The Catcade - Cat Cafe & Rescue in Lakeview is a feline-themed coffee and cocktail lounge with a laid-back atmosphere, offering arcade games and cat adoptions. For a fee, visitors can relax, play games, and interact with the cats at this rescue. The establishment also hosts cat yoga classes for those interested. Visitors have noted the friendly and relaxed nature of the cats, making it an enjoyable experience for both adults and children.
Catcade takes incredible care of their animals. My vet was extremely impressed with the level of care my kittens received before I got them. Set your expectations: there's a high volume of applications so it might take a while until you hear back. They will work with you extensively to make sure you and the kittens have the best possible match. So happy with my babies. <3
Angela C — Google review
It has been several weeks now but when we went everything was very well explained before we even got there. When we got there it was well explained again. They have rules for a reason and it doesnt matter if you have experience with cats or not. Their main focus is on the cats and finding them homes, not on the comfort or egos of humans. It's not a cafe or bar. The area is awesome with plenty of games to play, though with all the cats to play with the games are for sure just a bonus. We instantly fell in love with one kitten but they had siblings. We inquired about one and we were given all the info needed on the adoption process including the fact that it is not first come first serve. They take many applications into consideration and choose what is best for the kitten/cat.At no point were we ever pressured to adopt more than one but we ended up adopting 2 and it was the best decision ever. Christine made the adoption process painless, easy and enjoyable for both us and the kittens. I am so grateful that we have two amazing additions to our family. The Catcade is an amazing place staffed by amazing people.

Such a cute little place, a must visit for cat lovers! The staff were very caring for their kitties and always concerned for their well being. The kitties were also quite friendly and so adorable! It was $20 per person for an hour plus some arcades included in the area. They also have cool merch that go towards the kitties! I got a shirt and stickers. The staff always keeps the lounge area clean and love to snuggle their fur babies!

CATS!!! The employees (or volunteers in this case) are super friendly and helpful. They seem to love their job (I mean why wouldn't they?) and the cats (and kittens) seem to love and enjoy the attention. The atmosphere is quiet, and drinks are included with the reservation (yes, a reservation is required for interaction, but it's definitely worth it!). Sometimes they are fully booked so a reservation is a must to ensure the best experience.

Fantastic experience today with the kittens! Great open atmosphere with a fun twist of the arcade games. All procedures were explained well and the ins/outs were like a well oiled machine. The staff were friendly and I loved all the merchandise. Chris recommended Giordano’s and that was also a great experience!

This was the best cat ‘cafe’ experience- and I’ve been to them all over the USA! All kittens or young cats. They are soooo sweet interactive and most just hop in your lap. Even if you can’t adopt a baby, it’s worth going to go love on them and support the cause! Great area too and surrounded by lots of restaurants and bars!!! This was my favorite part of Chicago!
Kari A — Google review
I went to the Catcade with my partner and best friend almost a week after my best furry friend passed away. I was not intending to fall in love with any other cat after she passed, but boy howdy was I wrong. The amount of love and care the staff showed for all of the cats really helped me feel comfortable. I knew I met my forever cats that day, and asked staff about the adoption process. It is NOT same day adoption and it is not first come and first serve! They make sure the kitties go home to the best family and I’m so glad they did! A week later and I came home with my new cat babies. Thank you so much to the staff at the Catcade and to Christine for making the process so easy!

Bowling alley
Avondale Bowl is a trendy 21-and-over bowling alley that offers craft cocktails, premium spirits, beer, and wine. While walk-ins are possible, it's recommended to make a reservation due to its popularity. The retro-looking bowling alley provides a vintage vibe and a well-stocked bar. It opened in January 2020 and features picturesque, vintage-inspired decor with ample photo opportunities.
we had our welcome event here for our wedding weekend and it was amazing. All our guests had sooo much fun and it was one of our favorite nights of the whole weekend. The staff is amazing and Luke and Jeff were amazing to work with when planning the event. Truly the best team and we can’t thank them enough! Highly recommend hosting here

Came here to celebrate a coworker who is leaving to start his own business. It was super easy to book 2 lanes for our big group, and the staff was friendly and helpful! Make note they have a stocked bar but don’t serve food, so make sure you have something to bring in or order in. (As long as it’s behind the lanes, food is welcome.) Such a cute vintage aesthetic and a good challenge- no bumpers! Fair warning, the slushy White Russian is delicious, but lethal- enjoy at your own risk ;)

Fantastic retro bowling alley on the second floor. The whole place has a fantastic retro feeling... the lanes, the balls, and the maneul scoring; all of it comes together for a great experience. Bar has some nice specials that change daily, a diverse beer selection, and a surprisingly great spirit selection. Very worth dropping by with a group.

Easily the most attractive bowling alley I’ve ever visited. The retro lanes and bar are so stunningly gorgeous. Great drink selection, awesome songs, nice staff. Honestly it’s a vibe. Came here for a New Year’s Eve bowl and had a blast!

I fell in love with this place as soon as I walked in the door! Looking at the set up my eyes lit up and I could do nothing more but smile. I'm quite the bowling nerd and love the sport to death. To see a establishment that maintain the lanes and actually uses a vintage lane machine for the vintage wood lanes I was blown away! Also the drink menu is extensive and they have some really great bourbon selections! Beer selection was awesome as well! I had the frozen white Russian which was very good! I definitely want to thank Missy (manager) Joe (Bartender), for showing me a great time! I definitely will be bringing others to enjoy this amazing gem! Sincerely Cowboy Q 🤠

We came here for a team outing and had an absolute blast! The bar was really cool, awesome beer selection. The bar itself was an old wooden masterpiece. Anne the bartender was fantastic. The lanes were a flash from the past. I got a huge kick out of the ball return that was above ground, idk I just loved it. You keep your own score here which was fun. Can’t wait to come back. We ordered delivery from Vito & Angelo’s, fantastic tavern style pizza.

A hidden gem in the neighborhood. From the outside you don’t know what to expect, once you walk in it’s like you’re transported through time. The bowling lanes and bar have the coolest retro vibes. It was lively but not over crowded and you can bring your own food. Found a new local hangout.

Definitely a very popular place to visit while in Chicago! Beautiful park with mature trees, areas to walk, see, and explore. The Bean is beautiful and very popular, lots of tourists. You can observe the different architecture of the buildings from different places in the park. I had a great experience overall☺️

🌳 My Visit to Millennium Park, Chicago My visit to Millennium Park was an unforgettable experience and one of the best highlights of Chicago. Located right in the heart of downtown, this beautiful urban park perfectly blends art, architecture, and nature — making it a must-visit spot for both tourists and locals. The first thing that caught my eye was the iconic Cloud Gate sculpture, famously known as “The Bean.” Its mirrored surface beautifully reflects the Chicago skyline and is a fantastic place for photos — especially in the morning or around sunset. I also loved walking through the Crown Fountain, with its interactive digital faces and shallow water area — a fun place to relax, especially for families and children. The Jay Pritzker Pavilion, designed by Frank Gehry, is another architectural masterpiece where you can enjoy free concerts and events during summer. The park’s landscaping is stunning, especially at the Lurie Garden, which offers peaceful walking paths and colorful flowers amidst the city’s tall buildings. 📍 Tips for Visitors: • Best visited during the morning or evening for great lighting and fewer crowds. • Free entry, and most attractions are within walking distance. • Combine your visit with the nearby Art Institute of Chicago and Maggie Daley Park. Overall, Millennium Park is a beautiful symbol of modern Chicago — vibrant, artistic, and full of life. A perfect spot to relax, take photos, and enjoy the city’s creative energy. 🌆✨

Kinda a must see if in Chicago and if you catch it in early morning you could definitely get some great shots of the Bean and the City Scapes it provides. Very popular attraction with large crowds coming and going all day and into the evening. We had limited time while in town and was able to walk from our hotel to visit. Spent about and hour getting photos and watching the crowds.
Jim M — Google review
Millennium Park is one of the most beautiful and well-maintained parks I’ve ever visited. The atmosphere is lively yet relaxing, with people of all ages enjoying the open spaces. The Cloud Gate sculpture—often called “The Bean”—is even more impressive in person, especially when it reflects the city skyline and the clouds above. The park is always clean, and there are plenty of benches and shaded areas for resting. During the summer, the fountain area becomes a favorite spot for families and kids to cool off, while in winter, the ice-skating rink brings a completely different charm. It’s also conveniently connected to other attractions like the Art Institute and Michigan Avenue, making it easy to spend an entire afternoon here. Whether you’re taking photos, jogging, or just sitting with a coffee watching the city move, Millennium Park offers a perfect balance of art, nature, and architecture. Definitely a must-visit spot in Chicago!

Millennium Park was one of my go-to spots while visiting Chicago, and it absolutely lived up to the hype! It's such a well-known park especially for "The Bean" and you can instantly see why. Everyone is taking pictures, smiling, and just enjoying the atmosphere. The area is clean, vibrant, and surrounded by Chicago's incredible skyline, which makes every photo look like a postcard. Whether you're there to relax, people-watch, or just take in the energy of the city, Millennium Park delivers. It's one of those places that truly captures the spirit of Chicago lively, artistic, and welcoming. Definitely worth a visit if you're in town!

🌳 Review: Millennium Park, Chicago The Millennium Park in Chicago is an artistic and refreshing public space that perfectly combines modern architecture, creativity, and relaxation. It is one of the city’s must-visit attractions and a place where people can truly enjoy both nature and art together. The highlight for me was the digital fountain (Crown Fountain) — a tall glass structure displaying the image of a person whose face moves naturally, and water flows gently from the mouth as if it were alive. The movement of the images and the reflection of light and water create a mesmerizing and peaceful scene, especially when viewed up close. Equally impressive is the Cloud Gate, popularly known as “The Bean.” When you walk inside the sculpture and look upward, it gives a feeling of infinite reflections and depth, showing the sky, people, and surroundings in a spectacular, mirrored view. It’s both playful and thought-provoking — a wonderful example of modern art blending with science and design. Overall, Millennium Park is a fantastic place to spend time with friends or family, take photographs, or simply sit and enjoy the artistic energy of Chicago. The reflections, lights, and lively atmosphere make it one of the city’s most memorable experiences.

Beautiful moments spent here. I would recommend to visit this public park if visiting downtown Chicago. It is a tourist attraction. There were a lot of people here, especially around the Bean, The fountain area is so nice where the faces change on the structures. Art museum
The Art Institute of Chicago is a renowned art museum that boasts an extensive collection of nearly 300,000 works from various cultures and time periods. Since its establishment in the late 1800s, the institute has grown to become one of America's largest art museums. Visitors can explore ancient Egyptian and Greek artifacts, iconic impressionist pieces by Monet and Van Gogh, as well as contemporary works by artists like Picasso, Warhol, and Pollock.
The Art Institute of Chicago is an absolute must-visit and one of the best museums in the U.S. We used the CityPASS, which gave us express entry — no long lines, a big plus! The museum is huge and beautifully curated, featuring world-famous masterpieces by Monet, Van Gogh, and many other renowned artists. The layout makes it easy to navigate, and there are plenty of clean restrooms throughout. I appreciated the bag check area where you can safely leave larger items, though small bags and water bottles are allowed inside. The souvenir shop is also impressive — large and filled with unique art-inspired items. Whether you’re an art lover or a casual visitor, this museum is a Chicago highlight and a must-see attraction downtown. Spent around three hours there but could spend the whole day if we don't have other plans.

One of the best art museums I’ve ever been to. The building and location was great, how the galleries were entering through each other was really interesting. Pro-tip: use their guide! It felt more than amazing to see a lot of Monet’s painting of one collection next to each other. And seeing Van Gogh’s brush stroke felt really special. My favorite artists that had their famous artworks in this museum were: Edward Hopper - Van Gogh - Monet - George Surat- Paul Cézanne - Whistler - Hammershoi Also, their lighting was really good. Their art shop was amazing! I bought beautiful postcards for 1.5 $ and a lot of fun items from different artists. I highly recommend visiting this museum if you’re in Chicago, and setting at least 3 hours of free time to enjoy with no stress and rush.

My Visit to the Art Institute of Chicago My visit to the Art Institute of Chicago was one of the highlights of my trip. It’s not just a museum — it’s a journey through centuries of global art and culture. The building itself is grand and beautifully designed, right next to Millennium Park, making it easy to find and explore. Inside, the collection is breathtaking — from American classics like Grant Wood’s “American Gothic” and Nighthawks by Edward Hopper, to masterpieces by Monet, Van Gogh, Renoir, Picasso, and Rembrandt. Each gallery felt like stepping into a different era and part of the world. The Modern Wing was a personal favorite, showcasing stunning contemporary works in a bright, open space. The Impressionist collection is one of the best I’ve ever seen, with vivid colors and incredible detail that make you feel part of the painting. The museum staff were friendly and helpful, and the layout was easy to navigate even though the collection is vast. I also enjoyed a relaxing break at the Museum Café, overlooking the park. 📍 Tips for Visitors: • Book tickets online to save time. • Plan at least 2–3 hours (or more!) — there’s so much to see. • Audio guides and maps are very helpful for first-time visitors. • Don’t miss the gift shop for unique art-themed souvenirs. Overall, the Art Institute of Chicago is a world-class museum that beautifully captures the power of creativity and history. A must-visit for anyone coming to Chicago! 🖼️✨

We came here on a Bank of America sponsored day and luckily we have BOA accounts and we're let in for free! There's so much iconic art here. And it truly is a massive space - I tried to speed run the whole museum in 2 hours and only got through ~85% of it. Really appreciated all the curated works and how they organized each room/section, and their exhibits were also very special.
Becky T — Google review
During my last trip to Chicago I got the CityPass and visited this enormous museum on a Monday during summer. If you like to appreciate art this is your museum, it has lots of sculptures, paintings, photography, textiles, weapons armor, among others... from different cultures during impressionism and post-impressionism. If you have a tight schedule I recommend you to plan which pieces of art you want to see before visiting the museum, check the map, use the app. If you intend to cover all the museum in detail it would be almost impossible to do it in one day.
MaJo — Google review
A Must-Visit for History & Art Lovers! This art museum beautifully showcases the history and cultures of various countries and ancient civilizations. The exhibits are thoughtfully arranged, and the ambience truly immerses you in the past. Each section is rich with historical references, making it a great place for anyone interested in literature, heritage, and art. The museum is well-maintained and organized, which enhances the overall experience. One of the most inspiring highlights here is the section dedicated to Swami Vivekananda’s historic speech, which adds a spiritual and motivational touch to the experience. It’s truly moving to stand in a place that reflects his message of unity, peace, and cultural pride. Do note that weekends can get a bit crowded, so visiting on a weekday is ideal if you prefer a quieter atmosphere. Overall, a wonderful place to learn, explore, and appreciate world cultures.

Iconic art! Definitely worth seeing! Fairly easy to navigate on your own. $38 adult entrance fee. They have a QR code on a sign at the entrance, super easy to buy your ticket as you walk in - even took Apple Pay. I did a thoughtful self tour in a couple hours. Staff and security are helpful if you get turned around. Seriously, security are not experts in the art though. I saw a couple people try to ask them art questions… lol!

I visited here at 10 AM with a member who is a resident of Chicago. Members can visit early from 10 AM to 11 AM. If you have a friend or a family member who lives in Chicago and is a member, that is a great experience to learn what they like at the museum! There was a temporary exhibit at the museum for the drawing and prints room. I saw an Edward Munch lithograph of The Scream painting. I would recommend buying a ticket in advance and keeping the printout of your ticket or if you have it on your phone. They do require to see your ticket again to re-enter the museum if you go to the gift shop. I bought postcards to send to my family and will be writing out the postcards this afternoon. They also have nice insulated bags at the museum shop that you can use on your trip. There is an abundance of natural light in the lobby and many of the galleries. The only thing I have against this museum is that they charge for admission. I live in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and our Minneapolis Institute of Art does not charge for admission for any patrons.

Situated on the 94th floor of the John Hancock Building, 360 CHICAGO offers breathtaking panoramic views of Chicago and its surroundings. This iconic observation deck provides visitors with an opportunity to admire sweeping vistas of Lake Michigan and four neighboring states. Equipped with high-powered telescopes, guests can marvel at the cityscape from a height of 1000 feet, including a view of the Willis Tower. Additionally, audio commentary and educational displays offer insights into notable landmarks.
Great view, worth the money. Strong drinks and lots of places to sit up top. Elevator trip was quick and efficient. The Tilt ride the kids had fun on. There was a lot of great history in the lobby before the elevator ride. Only complaint would be the spider webs were getting really thick on the outside, but I am sure it’s not the easiest to clean. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Chicago, especially for the 1st time.

Great views over the city, the tilt experience is well worth it. I went in 9.15am just after it opened. No queues, i paid on the door $57 all in, i didn’t pay for any fast track queue jumping, didn't need it. Was told if it was much later in the day or at the weekends it would be helpful. Staff very friendly and helpful. Some nice drinks at the bar

360 Chicago offers one of the most stunning views of the city and Lake Michigan. Located on the 94th floor of the former John Hancock Center, it provides a full panoramic view of Chicago’s skyline that’s absolutely breathtaking, especially during sunset or nighttime when the city lights start to sparkle. The elevator ride is incredibly fast and smooth, and there are plenty of informative displays along the way that explain the building’s history and design. The highlight for most visitors is TILT, the glass platform that gently tilts outward from the building’s side — a thrilling experience for those who love a little adrenaline with their view! The staff are friendly, and the café and bar area make it easy to relax while taking in the scenery. Compared to the Skydeck, it’s often less crowded, which makes the experience more peaceful and enjoyable. Whether you’re visiting for photos, a date, or just to see Chicago from a new perspective, 360 Chicago perfectly captures the city’s beauty from above. Highly recommended for both tourists and locals alike.

This was so much fun!!! The building is super cool with so much to see about the city of Chicago. The experience was great. A little wait time here and there but overall worth every penny!! We debated on this or the Sky Deck (Willis tower, I believe), and eventually settled on this because of the unique TILT attraction of the thing. The building was beautiful, and the views spectacular, especially being close to the coastline of Lake Michigan. We went in the morning (10 am) on a Saturday to hopefully avoid the crowds, and bought the "fass pass" entry to avoid lines and waiting. Turned out, for that time of day, these were definitely not needed... Oh well. Once up (the elevators are extremely fast, be prepared for your ears to pop!), we had photo opportunities galore, 360 degree views of the city of Chicago, and the glowing sunrise over the lake. I absolutely cannot complain about the views, and the photographers were very nice and helpful, and we got some great shots of our own as well. We did buy the photo package afterwards, as you cannot take photos in the TILT attraction itself, and there were a ton of digital photos included. Overall I was happy with the price of the package, but the quality of the photos was not as good as I would have expected (low res, small file sizes). As for TILT, it was fun, but it overlooked the south of the building, and as we tilted out, we really only were overlooking a small alley and some other building rooftops. It would have been amazing on the west side, over the main Michigan Ave, or the east side even, over towards the great lake. They tilt you out, and you have to hold yourself up on bars above the glass for 30 seconds, think of a static push-up, then they lift you for relief and repeat. I know at least a few people that could not have held themselves on the ride. Last thing, they have a cafe and bar, but we didn't participate in either (early morning, non-alcoholic drinkers), but the gift shop was cute and we spent some time and money there. The location is wonderful and we took a walk back following the coastline out to Navy Pier, pretty nice experience. In the end though, I wonder if I would have liked the Sky Deck a bit better? For the price to go up, ride TILT, and fast pass, we spent $66/pp, I would likely just pay for the ride up next time for the view, or try Sky Deck for $32.

I had a good experience at Chicago 360, and the view was absolutely beautiful — definitely one of the highlights. The city looks incredible from up there, and the TILT attraction is a fun, memorable feature that adds a little thrill to the visit. It truly feels like an experience rather than just a viewpoint. That said, I do wish there was more to the overall exhibit. When you visit places like The Edge in New York, they provide a lot of information about the building itself — how it was constructed, what surrounds it, and how the design impacts the experience. That extra layer of storytelling makes the visit feel richer and more engaging. Chicago 360 is mostly about the view and the TILT, and I think adding more educational or immersive elements could make it even better. Overall, it’s definitely worth visiting for the scenery and the unique TILT experience, but there’s room to enhance the depth of the attraction.
Sirisha K — Google review
It was a unique experience going all the way up and seeing the city from such an incredible vantage point. I would recommend visiting during the evening or at night to enjoy the best views. It’s also a good idea to pre-book your tickets to skip the lines, especially on weekends when it gets crowded. Once you’re up there, consider purchasing the Tilt experience based on the crowd size, as the wait times can sometimes be quite long due to queues.

Decent observation deck. We came at 9am and it was literally empty besides another couple. The views are good but it is quite limited for what you can do once at the deck with a picture booth section blocking off a part of the view and sadly the tilt was closed to us for some reason when we went which we would've liked to do.

The Field Museum, located in Chicago's Grant Park, is a state-of-the-art museum showcasing an extensive collection of natural history and anthropological artifacts from around the world. With over 40 million items on display, visitors can explore everything from dinosaur skeletons, including the famous T-Rex named Sue, to Egyptian mummies and ancient Mayan ruins. The museum also delves into geology, evolution, botany, archeology, and more.
I absolutely loved the Field Museum — it’s one of the most fascinating places I’ve ever visited. The dinosaur exhibits alone are worth the trip! Right when you walk into the Grand Hall, you’re greeted by Maximo, the giant titanosaur — it’s breathtaking to stand beneath something that massive. Then, of course, there’s the legendary Sue, the world-famous Tyrannosaurus rex. Seeing such a complete and beautifully preserved T. rex skeleton up close was an unforgettable experience. The exhibit around Sue is amazing — with fossils from the Cretaceous period, like triceratops skulls, ancient plants, shark teeth, and other creatures that help you imagine what life looked like millions of years ago. The murals and life-sized displays make it feel like the dinosaurs have come back to life right in front of you. Beyond the dinosaurs, the museum is full of incredible things — ancient Egyptian artifacts, mummies, sparkling gemstones, meteorites, and wildlife dioramas from all around the world. Every gallery has something that completely pulls you in. The staff were super friendly and helpful, and even the café and gift shop were nice spots to take a break and soak in everything we’d just seen. Honestly, if you’re ever in Chicago, the Field Museum is an absolute must-see. It’s a place where history truly comes alive.

Such a cool museum! This is a must go to in Chicago. The exhibits are in depth and there are so many fossils, you definitely don’t want to miss going here. Some of the exhibits are closed off unless you pay extra to go in but other than that the rest of the museum is open to wander. There’s also multiple cafeteria/restaurant areas to grab a bite to eat at. I went on a Sunday morning and it wasn’t crowded at all and I was able to cover most of the museum in a couple of hours. From bugs to dinosaurs, this museum has it all!

We visited The Field Museum in Chicago and had such a great time! We used the Chicago CityPASS, which made entry quick and easy — highly recommend it. The museum is massive and full of fascinating exhibits, so you can easily spend the whole day exploring. We only stayed for about 2.5 hours because of other plans, but there’s definitely enough to keep you busy for longer. The highlight for us was SUE the T. rex, an absolute must-see! The Ancient Egypt exhibit with mummies and artifacts was another favorite — super cool and well curated. The museum also has plenty of seating areas and clean restrooms, which make the visit comfortable. There are several food options available; we tried the bagel and burger — both were good, though nothing too special. The souvenir shops have a wide variety of items, perfect for gifts or keepsakes. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the place was very clean and organized. Another great perk of the CityPASS is that it includes one special paid exhibition for free, which adds even more value. Overall, The Field Museum is a must-visit Chicago attraction — educational, fun, and perfect for visitors of all ages!

🦖 My Visit to the Field Museum, Chicago The Field Museum of Natural History is a must-visit for anyone in Chicago! Located on the Museum Campus near Lake Michigan, it’s one of the largest natural history museums in the world, offering a fascinating journey through the planet’s past and present. The museum’s star attraction is Sue, the largest and most complete Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton ever discovered — it’s absolutely awe-inspiring! I also enjoyed the Evolving Planet exhibit, which traces life on Earth from the earliest organisms to modern species. Other highlights include Ancient Egypt, with its beautifully preserved artifacts and mummies, and Cultural Halls, which explore the traditions and lives of people from around the world. The museum is very well-organized, with informative displays, interactive stations, and knowledgeable staff who make the visit engaging for both adults and children. 📍 Tips for Visitors: • Buy tickets online to skip the queue. • Allocate at least 3–4 hours for a complete experience. • Don’t miss the Inside Ancient Egypt and Evolving Planet exhibits. • Combine your visit with nearby Shedd Aquarium and Adler Planetarium for a full Museum Campus day. Overall, the Field Museum is an educational, fun, and awe-inspiring destination — perfect for families, students, and anyone fascinated by history, science, and culture. 🏛️✨

The Field Museum is one of the most impressive natural history and culture museums I have ever visited. The exhibits are beautifully curated, covering everything from ancient civilizations to the wonders of nature and evolution. Sue the T. rex is an absolute must see and truly breathtaking. The museum’s scale and attention to detail make it easy to spend hours exploring without realizing how much time has passed. A perfect destination for anyone who loves history science and discovery.

Had a fantastic time. Very fast entry. We paid for all the extra exhibits and it was well worth it. The staff members were super friendly especially inside the exhibits. They would come up and give us facts about what we were looking at. We ate lunch there and the cafe prices were a little high but well worth it. Highly recommend for any trip to Chicago.

The Field Museum is an absolutely amazing experience in Chicago. There is so much to see, from Sue the T. rex to the expansive cultural exhibits, you could easily spend an entire day getting lost in history and science. The sheer scale and quality of the collection are breathtaking. We stopped for lunch inside, which was expensive, costing $90 for four people, but given the entire day of incredible exploration and learning, the overall cost was very much worth it. This is a must-visit destination for anyone in the city.

By far the best natural history museum we have ever been to! There are so many original artifacts and such a huge variety - it definitely takes longer than a day to get a good look at everything on display. It was also cool getting to see the world's most complete T-Rex as well as one of the 13 archaeopteryx fossils ever found.

Spanning 1.25 miles from Lake Michigan to Lake Street, this vibrant area in Downtown Chicago is filled with shops, eateries, and recreational activities. The Chicago Riverwalk is one of the most beautiful and vibrant spots in the city! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Shoreline Sightseeing Architecture River Tour – Chicago, IL Disclaimer: This is my personal experience. If something doesn’t go quite right, I always recommend giving the team a chance to make it right. Most places truly care. That said, this tour was everything I hoped for. This was hands-down one of the best ways to experience downtown Chicago. The views from the river are incredible, and the guide gave a perfect mix of storytelling, architecture, and local history. I learned more in 75 minutes on the water than I expected. The boat was comfortable, clean, and had plenty of space to sit and take in the sights. We cruised all three branches of the river and saw Chicago from angles you just can't appreciate from street level. If you’re visiting the city, or even if you live nearby, I highly recommend it. It’s a relaxing, informative, and beautiful way to see Chicago’s skyline. Pro tip: Sit on the upper deck and bring a light jacket. The wind off the river can surprise you.

Just a really nice peaceful trail along the river. It was off season when we went so most businesses were shut but that's fine. It's also a very good way to avoid all the crossings too and continue your walk without breaking stride. Definitely recommend it on a sunny day.

🌊 My Visit to Chicago Riverwalk The Chicago Riverwalk is a beautiful and vibrant spot in downtown Chicago, offering a perfect blend of scenic views, dining, and entertainment along the Chicago River. Walking along the promenade, I enjoyed the stunning views of the city’s iconic skyscrapers and unique architectural bridges. The Riverwalk is lined with cafés, bars, and restaurants, making it a great place to relax, grab a coffee, or enjoy a meal while watching boats glide by. I also loved the public art installations and small green spaces along the way, adding charm to the urban environment. For those interested in more active experiences, you can rent kayaks or take boat tours that provide a new perspective of Chicago’s architecture and history. The atmosphere is lively yet relaxed, making it a wonderful place for both daytime strolls and evening outings. 📍 Tips for Visitors: • Best to visit during daylight for sightseeing or evening for beautiful city lights. • Wear comfortable shoes — there’s plenty to walk and explore. • Combine with a visit to Millennium Park or a boat tour of the Chicago River. Overall, the Chicago Riverwalk is a must-visit for anyone wanting to experience the city’s charm, architecture, and waterfront vibes. 🚤🌆

Riverwalk was extremely clean and friendly people to talk to. Lots of beautiful, visually appealing plants and benches to rest. Not too many restaurants or kiosks which might be the reason for cleanliness. Restaurants and food shops are a street away. I loved all the tall towers ( buildings).

The Chicago Riverwalk is hands down one of the most beautiful and enjoyable places in the entire city. Whether you’re visiting from out of town or a lifelong Chicagoan, there’s just something magical about walking along the river with the skyline towering above you. The views are absolutely stunning — especially in the evening when the city lights reflect off the water. It perfectly captures that balance of Chicago’s energy, architecture, and charm. There’s always something happening along the Riverwalk. You can stroll peacefully along the path, grab a drink or a meal at one of the many waterfront restaurants, or just sit and people-watch while boats and kayaks pass by. The mix of locals, tourists, and live music creates an atmosphere that’s both vibrant and relaxing. It’s one of those rare spots where you can slow down and still feel connected to the heartbeat of the city. The restaurants and bars are excellent — with tons of options to choose from. Whether you’re in the mood for a casual beer, a glass of wine, or a full dinner with a view, there’s something for everyone. Places like City Winery, Tiny Tapp, and Beat Kitchen on the River are all fantastic stops. You can literally walk the length of the Riverwalk and find new favorites every time. It’s also incredibly clean, safe, and well-maintained. The city has done an amazing job of making it accessible for everyone. There are plenty of spots to sit, relax, and enjoy the scenery, and the landscaping adds so much color and life to the space. It’s perfect for morning jogs, afternoon strolls, or nighttime walks under the city lights. One of my favorite things to do is just grab a coffee and walk the entire stretch — watching the tour boats, street performers, and the way the sunlight hits the skyscrapers. It’s peaceful but still alive with Chicago’s unmistakable energy. And if you visit during the summer, there’s nothing like it — warm weather, live music, and a cool breeze off the water make it feel like the city’s front porch. If you’re visiting Chicago, the Riverwalk is an absolute must. It’s the kind of place that makes you fall in love with the city all over again — beautiful, lively, and full of character. Whether it’s a first date, a family outing, or just some time alone with your thoughts, it’s one of the best ways to experience everything that makes Chicago special. Five stars, without hesitation — a true gem in the heart of the city. 🌇🚤🌆

Pizza restaurant
Pizza delivery
Lou Malnati's Pizzeria is a family-owned chain known for its Italian classics and Chicago-style deep-dish pizzas with buttery crusts. Founded by Lou Malnati in 1971, the pizzeria has been committed to using high-quality ingredients, such as fresh mozzarella cheese from a Wisconsin dairy farmer and personally selected tomatoes from California. One of their popular dishes is the sausage pizza, featuring a layer of sausage patty at the bottom for an even distribution of flavor.
On my second trip to Chicago, I finally tried Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria, and I can honestly say it was worth the hype. Chicago is famous for its deep dish pizza, and Lou Malnati’s really represents the city well. I ordered the personal Lou pizza and decided to add pepperoni on top. That extra touch made it even better—the crust was buttery and crisp, the cheese was gooey and plentiful, and the sauce had a perfect tangy flavor that tied everything together. It was hearty, filling, and every bite felt like the real Chicago experience. The staff was very friendly and made me feel welcome right away, and the restaurant had a comfortable, lively atmosphere that added to the experience. You can tell they take pride in what they serve, and it really shows in the quality of the food and service. Overall, I loved my visit and will definitely come back the next time I’m in the Windy City. If you’re visiting Chicago and want to experience authentic deep dish pizza, Lou Malnati’s should be at the top of your list!
The N — Google review
Several locals told us Lou Malnati’s was the place for deep dish in Chicago, so of course we had to try it. We ordered two deep dish pizzas and they were rich and flavorful, but I realized deep dish just isn’t my personal favorite style. The salads were fresh but the standout dish — the one I’d absolutely come back for — was the Chicago-style meatballs with burrata and giardiniera. Absolutely incredible! The wait was about 45 minutes, but the lively atmosphere made it fun and part of the overall experience. Great food, friendly service, and a must-try spot for the full Chicago pizza adventure.
Courtney G — Google review
This place is phenomenal! I ate at 5 different pizza places in Chicago this week and Lou's was easily the best! No slices, so you've got to get a whole pie, but it's worth it. It comes out perfect 👌 the meats, the bread, the sauce were all top notch. The restaurant itself is really nice inside, which stood out in a city of casual pizza joints. This a place any deep dish lover has to try.
Tony S — Google review
This was our first time here. We went on a Friday night & there was a 35-45 min wait, which was to be expected. You can pre-order so it's not as long of a wait once you're seated. We ordered the cheese bread & mozzarella nuggets for appetizers. The cheese bread was really good. Nuggets were good too. We ordered a pepperoni deep dish pizza. It was fine. The crust wasn't very good. They offer a butter crust which might be worth trying instead. Out server was friendly but the service was not great. There were a lot of forgotten things. Prices were pretty reasonable.
Stacey P — Google review
First time trying some Chicago deep dish and it was great. Got a medium custom pizza and it was a little expensive, but we had enough for leftovers the next day. The quality made the price worth it as the pizza was cheesy and all the toppings were fresh. Also was a nice experience having a beer and waiting for the pizza. Would recommend!
Zach K — Google review
I was originally upset about my experience with Lou Malnati's after getting all the way back to our hotel and realizing my food was not what I ordered. (My friend's food was awesome both times btw) I was actually quite upset and disappointed. I reached out to the restaurant (I am so glad i did) and told them exactly what happened and how disappointed I was. someone got back to me by the next day, and made it right. Because of the quick response, we were able to go back there and get the correct dish before our trip was over. :) & I must say, it was AMAZING! I dont think it could have been better! We also tried some other items on our 2nd visit and they were just as amazing! This place is a "must try location" when in Chicago! *I also highly recommend signing up online if you are making a carry-out order. Shout out and a big THANK YOU again to Chris for helping me out with my issue and making it right. I am very glad we went back and gave Lou Malnati's a second try! 😊🙏🏻
Angela A — Google review
This was my first time in Chicago so of course I wanted to try a deep dish pizza. When the pizza came out I was expecting a "deep dish" pizza but it looked more thinner than I expected. The taste/ flavor was average, nothing to be impressed about in my opinion. Next time I am in Chicago I will try a different restaurant to see if I'll get the deep dish style pizza I was expecting. We had a great waitress though.
U. H — Google review
The butter crust and not so deep Chicago crust pizza that you get from Lou Malnati’s has definitely made me add them to the top pizza places in Chicago. I was rather surprised to see a line that took about an hour to clear out before our turn so make sure you plan ahead. The pizza itself was amazing and the staff were super friendly. Definitely recommend them if you’re trying out pizza in Chicago for the first time.

Adler Planetarium, located in Grant Park, Chicago, is a historic and iconic institution that offers breathtaking views of the city skyline reflecting off Lake Michigan. Since its opening in 1930, this Art Deco planetarium has been captivating visitors with its celestial displays and space-themed exhibits. With permanent exhibitions covering Mayan astronomy and contemporary space exploration, as well as live presentations by renowned astronomers, Adler provides an immersive experience for all ages.
As a Chicago wedding photographer, I can't recommend Adler Planetarium enough for couples who are looking for a unique, iconic venue in the heart of the city. The venue and ceremony sites, both indoor & outdoor, have unbeatable views of the Chicago skyline. The space is large, with several rooms for entertaining, and it can accommodate larger guest counts. Its location also grants couples a gorgeous photo location, so they don't need to stray far from the venue for their formal portraits. Another perk of the location is that it is a bit more off the beaten path, while still central to downtown, so foot & car traffic of residents and tourists is less compared to many other central downtown venues and photo locations. At a recent wedding I photographed at Adler (pictured), they had their ceremony inside the solarium facing the city; it was a surreal experience watching the sun set & the skyline transform during their ceremony, captivating the couple and all the guests. During cocktail hour, guests were able to roam throughout the exhibits with drinks & apps in hand. As a vendor, the staff was very friendly and helpful throughout planning and on the day of. The highlight of the wedding for me, as well as many guests, was the after party in the Sky Theater, which is an IMAX screen with projections of space scenes on the domed ceiling. The couple & the guests had the time of their lives, and it was such a joy to photograph.

🌌 My Visit to Adler Planetarium, Chicago Visiting the Adler Planetarium was a truly out-of-this-world experience! Located on Chicago’s Museum Campus with stunning views of Lake Michigan and the city skyline, it’s America’s first planetarium and a must-visit for anyone interested in astronomy and space science. Inside, the planetarium offers a mix of interactive exhibits, immersive sky shows, and fascinating educational displays. I especially enjoyed the Definiti Sky Theater — the full-dome experience makes you feel like you’re floating through space among stars, planets, and galaxies. The hands-on exhibits on planets, satellites, and space exploration were engaging and perfect for all ages. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, eager to explain cosmic phenomena and guide visitors through the exhibits. I also loved the historic instruments on display that show how astronomers studied the skies in the past. 📍 Tips for Visitors: • Buy tickets online to skip the line. • Plan at least 2–3 hours to fully explore exhibits and attend a sky show. • Don’t miss the Sky Tonight presentation for a real-time guided tour of the night sky. • Bring a camera for the spectacular views of the Chicago skyline from the planetarium grounds. Overall, the Adler Planetarium is both educational and awe-inspiring — a perfect destination for families, science enthusiasts, and anyone curious about the universe. 🌠🔭

Great planetarium. Two dome theaters with constant showings. I recommend the skyline live one, as it is interactive and unique to Chicago. Cosmic Cafe had really lovely food and drink. Exhibits have interactive elements that are great for young and old. The grounds outside are perfect for seeing the Chicago skyline and getting quality pics.

Movies are about 40 minutes long. Parking in a lot is $25. You can do street parking which is cheaper, maybe $10 but you have to arrive early. Spots get taken quick. A great view as well.

We visited the Adler planetarium on a weekend around 2 pm and our 9 year old daughter loved it! We went to couple of shows and also visited other exhibits. Wish we had more time since the planetarium closed (early) at 4 pm , so my recommendation is to go early when you’re going there on a weekend.

The Adler Planetarium is one of the best spots in Chicago to learn and be amazed at the same time. The sky shows are a must, the exhibits are interactive and fun, and the views of the lake and skyline are worth the trip alone. Some parts feel more geared toward kids, but overall it’s a great place for families, couples, or anyone curious about space.
Antonio A — Google review
Buying tickets was confusing. You can't buy a ticket to just a show you have to buy the museum entrance as well. The cafeteria had surprisingly good food. The show was cool, but I only really recommend going to it with kids. They'll have a blast.

We saw a few exhibits then watched a short film in the domed theater room. It was good visit. Oh!!! As we walked up we were directed around the corner to see holes on the suns surface. The man there explained the magnetic field that caused the holes and how the temperature inside the field was drastically different the temperature right outside of it. See those holes in the sun, and him explaining what I saw was my favorite part about this visit.

Grant Park, a 312-acre urban oasis in Downtown Chicago, is home to some of the city's most popular attractions. Anchored by the renowned Art Institute of Chicago and the acclaimed Millennium Park, this area offers a perfect day trip with its mix of restaurants, parks, museums, music clubs, and rooftop views. Visitors can explore the Chicago Cultural Mile along South Michigan Avenue and then rent a bike to enjoy the scenic 18-mile Lakefront Trail that passes through Grant Park.
Grant Park is a great spot to relax, walk, or enjoy the skyline views. It’s clean, spacious, and well-maintained, with easy access to nearby attractions like Millennium Park, Buckingham Fountain, and the Art Institute. Whether you're taking a stroll or just sitting on a bench, it’s a peaceful break from the busy downtown area.

This park is wonderful—clean, well-maintained, and full of charm! Whether you visit during the day or at night, you’ll get stunning views of the Chicago skyline and Lake Michigan. It’s a beautiful green space right in the heart of the city and the South Loop, making it perfect for both tourists and locals. You can enjoy peaceful garden walks, relax in nature, and take in some of the best urban scenery Chicago has to offer.

Grant Park is truly the heart of downtown Chicago — a huge, green space surrounded by some of the city’s most iconic landmarks. It’s the perfect place to take a peaceful walk, enjoy the skyline, or simply sit under a tree and watch people go by. The Buckingham Fountain is stunning, especially when it’s lit up at night or during one of the hourly water shows. The park is always clean and well-kept, with plenty of open lawns and shaded paths for jogging or picnicking. It’s also home to major events like Lollapalooza, so depending on the season, you might catch live music or cultural festivals happening here. What I like most is how easy it is to reach from anywhere downtown — just a short walk from Millennium Park or the Art Institute. The combination of city energy and natural beauty makes Grant Park an ideal spot for both locals and tourists. Whether you’re looking for a morning run, an afternoon picnic, or an evening stroll, you’ll always find something enjoyable here.

One of my favorite urban parks I’ve ever had the pleasure of frolicking through. Expansive views of the Chicago skyline, Lake Michigan, extensive ornamental plantings, Buckingham Fountain, and more than enough spots to find a Chicago hot dog. Even for a quick 30 minute walk, it’s a wonderful place in the city to find some grass to touch.

This park is perfect for festivals and events. In fact, the day we visited, there was a large food festival going on. There were many vendors and it was well organized. Security was on hand and there were plenty of washrooms. The giant "Bean" attracted alot of attention.

Giant fountain, views of lake Michigan, views of the great city of Chicago and plenty of vendors for snacks and Chicago swag. Our timing was decent to avoid enough of the crowds and score a great family photo. A recommended stop along the route of other Chicago green spaces, statues, and iconic stops.

We wanted to avoid the parking lot since we'd heard that it was pretty pricey.

Hidden gem in Chicago. I was walking to the zoo and stumbled upon this place and I’m so glad I checked it out. It is free to enter but you need to reserve a time online. Thankfully I was able to do so right outside the door, and they were lenient about letting me in even though the next time available was in 30 minutes. The tropical atrium, fern room, and orchid exhibits were phenomenal. Beautifully gardened and well maintained. Definitely check out if you’re in the area.

I had a wonderful time visiting Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago! 🌿🐾 It’s one of the oldest zoos in the country and the best part is—it’s free to enter. I loved how it’s beautifully set inside Lincoln Park with a mix of history, nature, and wildlife. From majestic lions and playful primates to the serene Nature Boardwalk, every corner felt engaging. The zoo is very family-friendly, easy to explore, and offers great city views along with close encounters with animals. Overall, it was a perfect blend of relaxation, learning, and fun in the heart of the city.

Lincoln Park Conservatory is one of our favorite spots in Chicago! It’s such a peaceful and beautiful place to visit any time of the year. The lush greenery, tropical plants, and seasonal flower displays make every visit feel special. We love that it’s free for residents all year round — a real hidden gem in the city! Always clean, relaxing, and perfect for a quiet walk or family visit. 🌿🌸

I loved all the plants and flowers in the conservatory. Everything was extremely well kept and clean. You should make a reservation before but it’s free. The print vending machine is also there and it’s definitely worth checking out!

Absolutely beautiful. Stopped by on a sunny Sunday afternoon, same day as the Chicago marathon. Laid in the grass staring at the wide array of exotic flowers and plants. Just breathe taking.

Educational and lovely indoor conservatory with a beautiful spacious outdoor garden/courtyard. Peaceful pond with variety exotic species plants as I walk in. Topical plants and the exotic plants are layout nicely through out the garden. Walk into A Lively Koi fish pond along with different orchids right after the greenery Fern room. There are topical fruits plants and varieties of beautiful flowers. Some of the plants are changes when the season /holidays approaches. Highly recommended.

Restaurant
Boka is a stylish and modern American cuisine restaurant located in Lincoln Park, Chicago. It has been a part of the BOKA Restaurant Group since 2003 and is known for its seasonally driven menus sourced from local farms. The restaurant offers an intimate dining experience with three dining rooms and a candlelit back garden patio. Executive chef Lee Wolen, who took over in 2013, brings a highly technical yet approachable touch to the reimagined menu.
What an experience! They were running about 30 minutes behind on reservations when we arrived but once we sat down, everything picked up and was incredible. Jesse was our waiter and he did so good. The 3 of us did the 8 course tasting menu and were around until close to 11PM. His energy was HIGH. He made the night fun and enjoyable. The food was incredible as well. The best piece of fish and best pasta I've ever eaten. It was well worth the food. I also do not like wine. However, I am happy to say I had 8 glasses of really good wine with my food. It might have changed my perspective. Really well done dinner and service. Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful evening at Boka in Chicago. From the very first moment, the atmosphere set the tone for an unforgettable dinner — stylish interior, pleasant music, and attentive service created a truly welcoming experience. Every dish was exceptional: both the meat and the fish were cooked to perfection, preserving their natural flavors while adding refined accents in the presentation. The oysters were particularly impressive — the combination of raspberry, basil, and coffee turned out to be unexpected, yet harmonious and sophisticated. The beef tartare was simply one of the best we’ve ever tried — perfectly balanced in flavor, with excellent texture and a presentation that highlighted the attention to detail. Boka is not just a restaurant, it’s a true gastronomic experience. You can feel the high level of the cuisine and the creative, author-driven approach in every dish. We highly recommend it to anyone who appreciates new flavors, unique combinations, and impeccable quality.

From the moment we stepped into Boka, the experience was nothing short of captivating. The atmosphere is elegant and intimate, a perfect backdrop for what turned out to be a memorable evening. Our waiter, Fernando, set the tone with his warm and attentive service. He guided us through the menu with genuine care and made every course feel special. Pedro kept our table refreshed and spotless, ensuring our water glasses never went empty while maintaining a subtle, professional presence. Matty was a delightful detail, oriented touch, always making sure our napkins were perfectly folded and the table remained pristine. Kyle added a personable charm, making us feel welcome and cared for throughout the evening. The food itself was simply extraordinary, each dish exceeded expectations with layers of flavor and beautiful presentation. From the first bite to the last, it was a true culinary journey. The wine and cocktail selections paired beautifully, offering something for every palate and enhancing the dishes even further. That said, for a Michelin-starred restaurant, there is still room to elevate the service to match the world-class level of the cuisine. While every member of the team was kind and attentive, a little more refinement and seamless coordination would make the experience absolutely flawless. Overall, Boka shines as a Chicago gem, a place where artistry, creativity, and hospitality come together. We highly recommend it for anyone seeking an unforgettable fine-dining experience, and we look forward to returning again soon.

Wow, what an incredible meal. From the moment we walked in, everything at Boka was top-notch. Every plate that came out was almost too beautiful to eat, but I'm glad we did! The flavors in every dish were just amazing. We started with the caviar and it was the perfect kickoff to the dinner. And I have to say, don't sleep on the chicken dish. I know it sounds simple, but it was genuinely my favorite thing we ordered all night, cooked perfectly. The vibe is great for a special night out, and the cocktails were fantastic. What really stood out, though, was the staff. Everyone was so friendly, and their wine suggestions were spot on, which made the whole experience even better. We had an unforgettable night. Boka is definitely worth it for a special occasion. 5 stars, easily!

Only had availability at the bar for our reservation for 2 but we certainly were well taken care of anyway. The bartender was helpful with ordering and our plates arrived from servers who explained them. For us, the duck breast and the scallops were the best. The halibut the least amazing. Oysters were great. The bill was >$500 but that’s what we expected.

I celebrated my birthday at Boka and it was one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had in Chicago. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm and welcoming. The ladies at the hostess stand greeted us with genuine kindness, which immediately set the tone for the evening. Once we were seated, our server Kevin took excellent care of us. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and clearly an expert who wanted to make sure we had the best experience possible. One of the managers, Augustus, stopped by our table to welcome us and make sure we were being taken care of the way we wanted. Later in the evening, another manager, Ellery, came over to check in and wish us well before we left. We ordered the duck and it was absolutely incredible. It’s Boka’s specialty and lived up to the hype in every way. Perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. This was, without a doubt, the best service I’ve ever received at a restaurant in Chicago. Every detail was thoughtful and intentional. The food, the service, and the ambiance all came together to make it a memorable night. I highly recommend Boka and will definitely be back. Thank you to the entire team for making my birthday so special.

Great Michelin star restaurant! We started with the smoothie king mocktail and chicken liver mousse. Then they came out with unlimited bread buns that were super soft and warm (on the house). The bread was salted on top and came with a whipped creamy butter. I got the ribs. They were cooked perfectly and MELTED in your mouth. I’d recommend having a side with it since the meat was rich. My husband got the duck with the duck heart sausages. It was the best duck he’s had! Then they gave us complimentary birthday desserts too. It was a great atmosphere and we appreciated that it wasn’t too loud for a Friday night. The quality of food here was unlike any other! Highly recommend.

My boyfriend and I decided to pick a contemporary place from the Michelin site and this place did not disappoint. We sat at the bar because we generally appreciate a less formal atmosphere. The bartender was exceptional. Friendly, witty, knowledgeable, and conversational. The food was fabulous. Not a dull moment to say the least. The Summer 2025 menu is well thought out and we left absolutely stuffed. I would go here again without a doubt!

Three Dots and a Dash is a retro Polynesian-style bar hidden behind an alleyway entrance, offering a modern take on classic tropical cocktails. Descending underground, guests discover a subterranean retreat with an extensive rum-based menu featuring over two dozen timeless and unique drinks. The bar is known for its strong cocktails, boozy slushies, and whimsical ventures like treasure chests packed with booze and dry ice.
The cocktails are delicious (said the Tiki nerd) and the service is excellent. Walked in on race day and was well communicated that we had an hour before a private party started. As our time expired we were moved to an even cooler smaller room and had another round. We could have stayed here all night, but, you know, we needed to be able to walk. Beautiful decor. Enter in the alley behind the Rick Bayless empire. Follow the Tiki Torch.

Came here with some friends & the vibes are fun! Lexy was awesome, great service & super friendly. I would recommend making reservations if you’re coming during their peak hours as standing around the bar can be difficult to order. We stood near the bar & had a great time with our group. We did mainly drinks & grabbed some waffle fries! Our most ordered drink of the night was the Coffee Grog, it is one of the best espresso martinis we’ve had. But the group drinks were always fun for show!
Kimmy B — Google review
What a cute bar! Their drinks are very interesting-looking and well-priced for the wow factor they provide. Our table ordered 5 different cocktails and we did a tasting of all of them. One theme was that all the cocktails had the same major problem which was they were too sweet. They had notes of the flavors listed on the menu, however they could have used either less sugar or something like lemon or lime to cut the sweetness. It was to the point where I had to request extra mix-ins like lemon juice for my drinks. Also, find it kind of odd to have a gift shop in front and it makes a place like this feel almost gimmicky. It would be hard to convince me to come here again. As far as food, the pu pu platter was pretty traditional and good for bar food.

By far the cleanest back way entrance I've ever seen. This place is definitely big but crammed, but for a good reason! Food and drinks are really good, heir MUST GET is the steak skewers, shrimp spring rolls and pork bites!! EXTRA sawsawan dipping sauce PLEASE!! All their staff are really friendly and attentive! They're indeed wheelchair accessible! Oh, bathroom was clean too but their water for hand washing was really hot just be careful!

I love tiki bars and had really high expectations for 3 dots. My main complaint is the atmosphere. The loud music completely ruined the tiki vibe & ambiance and we had to basically yell to each other in order to have a conversation. The drinks were very good & prices were what you'd expect for a popular bar in a big city. Good, friendly service as well. I'd definitely return but please rethink your music choices. It's not that I didn't like the music. It just didn't fit.
Joe B — Google review
We arrived with a lot of curiosity because this bar looked unique from the outside. It’s tucked away in an alley, and the entrance feels mysterious and fun — dim lighting with a tropical, Hawaiian-style vibe. We couldn’t get a table since the place was already full, but we were still welcomed to stand by the bar. The drinks were incredible — playful glasses, fun presentations, and bold flavors. The atmosphere was lively, full of conversation, good music, and great energy. We enjoyed two drinks and had a great time before heading out. If you plan to visit, I’d definitely recommend making a reservation to secure a table. It’s a memorable spot and worth the experience. 🍹🌺✨

This is for sure the OG of all Tiki Bar experiences complete with the ambiance and the VIP sections to flex your style if that’s your thing (I just met a date at a regular table but it was all over the top fun as it should be). Make a reservation and know they will keep you moving along after 2hrs in most cases. It will be hopping even on a weeknight and it’s loud (but still amenable to good conversation). The whole thing drips of irony and “baller” class with Hawaiian 🌺 charm all at once. Watch for the skulls to know the alcohol level but all the options we had were good (Mai Tai…more than one 😆…and this classic Three Dots were the best). Food was good too but don’t come for the salads or healthy options. Unless you count the decorative greens under you skewers or pure beef this place is sans salads of any kind 😊 I learned of this place from a Tiki Bar in Columbus SC of all places called Urban Tiki which Three Dots inspired (so if you love tiki and you find yourself in Columbus SC be sure to keep the fun going there too).

Been here a few times on various occasions. Sometimes it’s extremely crowded and difficult to find a seat. You might find yourself fighting to get a drink at the bar. But when you catch it on a slower night or are lucky to get a table, it’s a wonderful experience. I’ve had a handful of their beverages before. An old fashioned and a few others. The cups are really neat and are always delicious. We got the sampler food platter last time I was there and it was exquisite! Highly recommend if you have a larger party that’s feeling snacky.

Donut shop
Doughnut Vault is a beloved Chicago bakery known for its limited but delectable selection of donuts. The establishment offers classic buttermilk old-fashioned donuts alongside a daily special, which is revealed on social media each morning. The small-batch operation means that once the day's supply of donuts runs out, the shop closes. Additionally, Doughnut Vault has expanded to include a food truck and a second location.
The Doughnut Vault is a hidden gem that blends nostalgia with quality in the best way possible. From the moment you walk up to the vintage storefront, you feel like you’re stepping into a simpler time. The classic buttermilk old-fashioned is everything you hope for in a donut: crisp edges, dense but tender inside, and that rich, buttery flavor that makes it hard to stop at just one. Their signature glazed is another standout — light, fluffy, and perfectly coated without being overly sweet. Whether you’re a donut connoisseur or just someone with a sweet tooth, The Doughnut Vault is well worth the visit. It’s not just a stop for pastries — it’s a moment of comfort and charm in the heart of Chicago.
Malcolm P — Google review
We’re on a quest to find the best donuts in Chicago, and The Doughnut Vault was next on our list. It’s a small hole-in-the-wall spot with limited space inside, so you might have to wait outside if there are other donut enthusiasts ahead of you. We showed up around 11:30 on a Saturday and didn’t experience a wait. We were cheerfully greeted as we walked in, and the cashier quickly gave us a rundown of what was still available. The whole process was quick and easy. There were some tables outside where we could enjoy our donuts. We shared the gingerbread stack, which was great for sharing since it came with three donuts, along with the vanilla birthday cake and the pistachio. None of the donuts really stood out, and they were on the lighter side in terms of flavor. They had that classic texture you'd expect, but overall, nothing wowed us. I wouldn’t go out of my way to return, but they’re a solid choice if you’re in the area and craving a traditional-style donut.
D A — Google review
The Doughnut Vault is absolutely worth the hype! Every donut was fresh, delicious, and well worth getting up early before they sell out. The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming, which made the experience even better. A must-visit in Chicago!
T R — Google review
Fun space and great donuts. Different. No seats. One size coffee. Some doughnuts are huge, some are jelly holders, and the old fashioned are regular size but large on flavor.
Tyler C — Google review
Absolutely iconic doughnut shop nestled in the side of a building. Doughnuts are likely the best you’ll have and you may not be able to help but return 😉. Getting there as early as possible is wise, as they sell out most mornings!
Luke S — Google review
Very friendly server, explained every doughnut they had available. The old fashioned doughnut was definitely by far my favourite, but the glazed was also very tasty. The coffee was a lovely accompaniment. Tables outside made it a nice and relaxing start to the morning.
James R — Google review
Some of the worst donuts I’ve ever had! These literally taste just like store-bought from a grocery store if I blindfolded you and had you taste a bite between this and a store-bought you would not be able to tell the difference I feel like years ago these were better but wow this embarrassing how bad this is. The yeast raised donuts are thick and dense they’re supposed to be light and airy
N S — Google review
The Best Old Fashioned Doughnuts are from the Doughnut Vault! I planned an early morning walk to the Doughnut Vault and picked up every Old Fashioned flavor they had that morning and brought it back to our apartment. My friends who were visiting with me helped me sample each one and voted which was their favorite. It was a great sugary start to our morning and we all agreed these were the best old fashioned doughnuts we’ve had. My personal favorite was the Classic Buttermilk but the Pistachio was a very closed second. Each piece of doughnut was soft and melted in my mouth. The flavors were really good and I found the Lemon Poppy Seed, Almond and Champagne the most sweet. The almond flavor reminded me of marzipan and the triple chocolate was rich & decadent. But the buttermilk won me over with its classic subtle, yet delicious flavor. Highly recommend getting there early and trying an Old Fashioned, you can’t go wrong!

The American Writers Museum, located in downtown Chicago just a short walk from the Art Institute, is a must-visit for literature enthusiasts and history aficionados. Opened in 2017, it stands as the first national museum dedicated to honoring American writers and their legacies.
Just a wonderful treasure chest of American Writers, the written word including drama, classics, comedy, music lyrics and comic books. A complete hands on museum. Interactive displays screens and good old-fashioned typewriters that you start a story or continue some one else. Loved this museum so very much.
Chuck P — Google review
In my role as an English teacher, I had the opportunity to visit the museum for a field trip with two colleagues and 47 ninth graders from our school in Villa Park, Illinois. Students expressed lots of excitement, joy, inspiration, wonder, respect, curiosity and interest during and after our visit, and it was common to hear that they wished it had lasted longer. Some expressed interest in returning. The manageable size of the museum, its focus on literary history, diverse genres, and individual authors, and the stylish visual design and interactivity of the exhibits made for an aesthetically and intellectually satisfying, as well as fun, field trip. The typewriters were the most popular feature, and students expressed their appreciation for the knowledgeable and kind staff members who guided and assisted them.
Adnan A — Google review
I had a wonderful experience there I really got to know new things about American history …there was this section where you can type your own story on the vintage typewriter that was very interesting …another part that I liked was there were some cards hanging where immigrants can share there own story in their own words …those little notes were so impactful and really tells a lot about immigrants’ struggle … the Museum has also a section where you can read the books of renowned writers and learn about American culture and history. I definitely recommend visiting this museum
Mamona R — Google review
As an English & Literature graduate, on my trip to Chicago the American Writers Museum felt like a very ideal addition to the schedule. It was actually quite difficult to find, very few signs outside to say where it was so I had to ask the security guard where to go. No physical tickets were given either which I found disappointing, in such a digital age, literature gurus still appreciate a classic ticket. The museum itself wasn't that big. It was an interactive museum which wasn't what I had expected, I was hoping for more artifacts or like historical pieces of authors. Everything was quite digital (all words on screens or light effects for words). The best thing was thay they had 6 vintage typewriters for visitors to try out.
Samantha F — Google review

Jana L — Google review
I went here about a year ago and had a really unique and cool experience. This museum has done a great job of keeping the stories alive (literally... lol writers museum), as well as the energy and engagement throughout the space. There's many different areas for guests to interact and physically get involved with the history being shared and told. Some of my favorite parts included the typewriter area, which allows guests to practice typing on various typewriters and leave them to a.) be finished by others or b.) be hung up by the museum staff. They also had a section where you got to design your own bookmark to keep. A truly interesting and cool section was where you got to write your own travel tag explaining where your family came from, how your story was written/started out. Over all, its a really cool museum, with sections and areas I didn't even get to go through the first time. I will definitly be coming back and seeing what else they have to offer! *Great for families, especially those with little kids (they have a whole section for children)*

Longman & Eagle is a popular bar and restaurant in Logan Square, Chicago, known for its modern farm-to-table cuisine and nose-to-tail eats. In addition to the dining experience, it offers six cozy guest rooms upstairs that pay homage to Chicago's historic pubs and inns. The rooms are small but well-appointed with exposed-brick walls, hanging terrariums, vintage cassette players with curated mixtapes, indie magazines, and Aesop toiletries.
Worth every penny. Great location and fantastic restaurant/bar. The staff is top notch. Just be aware the shower/bathroom (for the room we stayed in) is basically “in the room”. It lacks privacy, so if you’re not quite to that level of intimacy w/ your travel partner make plans. BUT every other aspect makes up for that one slightly awkward quirk.
Scott R — Google review
Longman is a vibrant scene of culinary adventure, local young talent, and vibey night life. The extensive alcohol menu (primarily specializing in whiskey) is extraordinary and must be sampled from immediately. The food has been highly recognized in the past, and continues to exceed expectations with how delicious it is. My lady and I stayed in the inn for several nights and found that while the room was charming and comfortable, the bathroom area requires more privacy and renovation. The Logan's Square area is fun and full of niche shops, sweet treats, and unforgettable dining experiences. While you're parading around Chicago's north side, stop in at Longman, try a whiskey you've always wanted to try, and enjoy the delicious menu.

Great place and amazing service! Stopped by since it was highly reviewed. Ben the bartender was very friendly. He gave me great recommendations for here and the city. I had the breakfast sandwich on his recommendation and the breakfast potatoes (which were hearty). Absolutely loved it! I would definitely recommend! Whiskey shots are also $3, you can't beat that. Definitely a place to try.

Longman & Eagle in Chicago is outstanding! The chicken and waffle is an absolute standout—crispy, perfectly seasoned chicken paired with a fluffy, golden waffle that’s pure comfort food at its best. The flavors balance beautifully, making every bite memorable. The atmosphere is stylish yet welcoming, and the service is attentive without being overbearing. A fantastic spot for anyone looking to enjoy top-quality food in a great setting. Highly recommend!

I have been back to L&E three times this year and every time has been great. However this last time, I brought my sister and mother from out of town and we just had an exceptional time. My mother who can be a little hard to please couldn't even fault it, not only the food was great, but our server (can't remember his name unfortunately) was fantastic. My sister kept saying this was a meal to remember. We were celebrating our birthdays and instead of doing a sweet (we were too full) they gave us shots, too fun. If you haven't been back to L&E for a minute, do it!! It's so refreshing to have both memorable food and service.

Seriously so good from start to finish. The menu is fantastic and the vibe feels almost casual, but the food is far beyond casual. Every dish feels thoughtful and polished without being pretentious. The staff knows exactly what they are doing and explains each plate when it arrives, which makes it feel extra special. The cocktails are just as impressive. There is so much good to say about this place that I am not even going to write it all. You just have to go and see for yourself.

Evanston SPACE, located near Dempster's L station, is a renowned music hall that has been hosting an impressive lineup of artists and bands since its establishment in 2008. With a capacity for 250 guests seated at candle-lit round tables, the venue offers an intimate setting for live performances. In addition to music events, it also serves as a space for lectures, discussions, live radio broadcasts, and podcast tapings.
I've only been here three times but every show, be it folk, funk, or rock, has been mixed perfectly. No matter if I am house left in seats, the center pit, or standing house right; their sound techs are consistently masters of their craft. This large space boasts a full bar house right of the stage that also provides N/A cocktails for those not partaking. Though it seats numerous patrons in rows and cocktail tables, this big venue still fosters an intimate experience with your favorite artists that massive arenas cannot deliver. We were able to meet with and talk to musical legends like the Wooten Brothers after their closing set, which was a rare opportunity. And when I lost a metal bird skull pendant on the dance floor at the concert, a simple email to the staff to hold it for me after they found it meant I was reunited with my prized possession just two days later. This place takes care of their artists, as my performer friends can attest, and their staff goes above and beyond for their patrons. They are quickly becoming one of my favorite Chicagoland venues.

Went here for a show this month. They made a major remodel. The music space has a different entrance. New outdoor seating at the restaurant portion in the front. They did a really nice job *chefs kiss*. The details are exquisite — even the bathrooms. I’ll try to take photos next time. I was too wowed I guess. I’m glad they kept the light fixtures in the music space. They look like belly buttons :)))

Love this venue!!! Intimate setting, Tables or 4, candlelight and close to the stage. Some amazing musicians come through here and tickets are always reasonable. Parking isn’t tough either. There’s paid street parking or I always park a couple blocks away and walk. Make sure to try their weekly Trivia night and stop for pizza before the show at Union next door

Super chill vibe that serves excellent drinks. No bad seats in a venue that is intimate and trendy. Fred Armison was amazing, too ✅

I really like the venue to see a performance. However, they need to work on their bar area. It felt like it just opened. Maybe it did? But there are signs saying bar snacks. It was a chocolate bar or pretzels. The almonds were out. That's not really enough to justify saying you have snacks lol. Anyway, great indoor venue for acoustics, but they might want to adjust the side seating. There were some awkward angles to the stage. But still, I really did enjoy the venue. Just some small improvements to make it great.

Food was incredible, would highly recommend. Drink menu was good, not great, but two bars, one inside the venue itself and another in the lobby. Patio looked great for a late summer/ early autumn evening. Well worth the 48 minute commute up from the city. Be back soon!

Oz Park, located in the historic Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago, is a whimsical tribute to L. Frank Baum, the author of 'The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.' The park features statues of beloved characters from the story such as the Tin Man, Scarecrow, Cowardly Lion, Dorothy and Toto. Visitors can explore the Emerald Gardens and enjoy various recreational facilities including tennis and basketball courts.
What an awesome park! I walked up here from downtown (on a scavenger hunt - a friend set me on an adventure to see a bunch of things). It was raining a little when I got there, and evening, so the park was near empty. I loved the Oz theme!!

I did an in-home family session near Oz Park in June and it was the perfect location to go explore outside as a little break. Love the garden area so much!!

A super cute and small park. I loved walking around, trying to find the statues. The Emerald City Gardens were very inviting and a nice place to relax

Second visit here since being a mom. First was summer of 2023 with kid being 6 month old and we had relaxed on our mat. Now with them at 2.5 of age, we had so much more fun. We played in the playground, ran and did hide and seek and practiced balancing our bike. We will go there often now that kid is grown up enough to enjoy the variety.

This was a nice little park to stroll through. Especially if you want to feel nostalgic with some Wizard of Oz. There’s several locations throughout the park with statues of different characters from the show. Not to far from Lincoln Park Zoo.

Oz Park is a little slice of the Land of Oz right smack dab in the middle of Chicago. Also: there are tennis courts, a playground, and a baseball diamond.

Oz Park is such a charming and fun place to visit, especially for families. The Wizard of Oz theme makes it unique, with statues of Dorothy, the Tin Man, and other characters adding a magical touch. The playground is well-maintained and perfect for kids, while adults can relax in the beautiful garden areas. It’s a lovely spot to enjoy a sunny afternoon or take a peaceful walk.

Oz Park is such a charming and whimsical spot in the city! The Wizard of Oz theme gives it a fun and magical vibe, with statues of Dorothy, the Tin Man, and the Scarecrow scattered around. It’s clean, peaceful, and great for both kids and adults to enjoy a stroll or relax on the grass. The playground is fantastic, and there’s always a friendly community feel in the air.

Nestled in the vibrant Lakeview district of Chicago, the Music Box Theatre has been a cherished gem since its inception in 1929. This elegant venue, with its stunning art deco design and cozy seating, offers an intimate movie-watching experience that ensures every seat provides a fantastic view. Renowned for showcasing an eclectic mix of foreign films, independent features, and cult classics, it stands out as one of the city's premier destinations for cinephiles.
Don’t go to the movies, go to Music Box. Where perfectly curated screenings, new and old, often in 35mm or 70mm film, transport you to another world. My brother is a long time member and I’m envious.. I’m hoping to drive in from Michigan a few days next month just for their film festival. I’ve seen several screenings and Q+A with the best directors you love.

There is no better place in Chicago to watch a movie than the Music Box. Classic, old school theater is a Chicago gem. Was lucky enough to catch Top Gun Maverick on the special screen they installed for the 70MM Festival. The film was even better than I remembered! I think they installed new seats last year, which is a definite upgrade. Great selection of candy, sodas, beer and wine. There is also a bar next door that connects to the theater. Anyone that loves movies must go IMMEDIATELY!!
Michael M — Google review
There are few places in Chicago where you can feel history breathe right alongside you but The Music Box Theatre does exactly that. Nestled in the Lakeview neighborhood, this 1929 gem isn’t just a movie theater, it’s a time capsule dressed in velvet and charm. From the moment you walk through those doors, you’re no longer in the 21st century, you’re stepping into an era when cinema was spectacle and storytelling was sacred. The interior still glows with that classic Chicago architecture. Arched ceilings, intricate plasterwork and a warmth that no multiplex could ever fake. It’s the kind of place where you half expect someone in a fedora to stroll by holding popcorn and today's paper. Programming here is a cinephile’s dream. One night you might catch a black and white Hitchcock masterpiece, the next a cult favorite from the ‘80s, and the next a brand new indie banger. The mix keeps things fresh without ever losing sight of the theater’s old soul identity. And then there’s the bar and lobby, arelaxed, art deco oasis where you can sip, chat, and soak in the buzz of anticipation before your film. It’s a reminder that moviegoing used to be an experience, not just an errand. Historic, soulful and beautifully preserved, it’s a love letter to film and to the city itself.

Excellent theater! First time going back after many years. Everything was fine, but watching "Lurker" (last Saturday) I saw two kids, like 12 years old (I'd guess) with an adult in a R movie. To my bad luck, they were sitting right next to me. I was very annoyed.

I had heard good things about the Music Box for years, so when the opportunity arose, I jumped at the chance to visit. Over a weekend, I saw Good Boy in the cozy smaller theater and Hour of the Wolf in the larger main theater. Both theaters are time capsules! You will absolutely feel like you're having a moviegoing experience. I will be back

Saw Sinners here today in 70mm. And it was absolutely amazing. For an older theater it truly combines the feeling of history with an intimate experience. The visuals and sound were superb. My first time attending the 70mm festival and I’ll definitely be going again.

I recently attended the Chainsaw Man movie at the Music Box Theater and had a fantastic experience. The auditorium-style setup with no assigned seating gave it a classic, communal vibe. The staff did an amazing job managing a sold-out crowd and bringing a Japanese film to U.S. audiences. The theater’s old-school aesthetic adds real charm, there’s plenty of bathroom space, and parking nearby is easy with third-party options. Overall, a great venue with great people!
Delmar H — Google review
I love the Music Box for the vintage feel and quality of film. They show a great variety of media and are incredibly kind. Their food/ beverage options are theater classic but also they have included a lot of cool unique things. I think the seating arrangement is my only downside, but that seems to come with the vintage vibe. If you are 5ft, like I am, you’ll have to get there early to get an aisle seat or a front row seat otherwise you won’t see a majority of the movie lol. They were super organized for the film festival!

The Block Museum of Art at Northwestern University is a dynamic and innovative institution celebrating its 40th anniversary with the full reopening of its galleries. The museum features rotating fine-art exhibits, a diverse permanent collection, films, and cultural programs. It recently acquired over 80 modern and contemporary artworks exploring the idea of history by artists such as Dawoud Bey, Louise Lawler, Kerry James Marshall, and Kara Walker. The museum offers special exhibition events like Curator Tours to engage visitors.
✨🌟Yesterday was for @nublockmuseum! We took a bike 🚲 and head to Evanston from Chicago! And the trip was really worth it! BLOCK museum is placed in a beautiful campus surrounded with amazing outdoor sculpture collection and you can take a map and labels at the front desk. The current exhibition is great and the content is very hard and intense but super important at the same time and that is why I do really appreciate how the whole space is designed. You can use 3 reflection rooms, where you can listen to special meditation prepared for this special exhibition. Take a look at their visitor guide, where I would like to highlight the reflection questions, the possibility for feedback and the list of resources where you can further go for more information and content. ✨🌟 well what to say… another great university museum.find more info about audience engagement in university museums on my instagram account @universitygalleries.

Still was fascinated by the art I never imagined could have come out of the Sahara region. This figure moved me so I 'artsyfied' my version of it in an effort to capture how it felt to me. I'd recommend going on the first day because I think you'll find more items simply. Got a second hand evening wear for 40$ when original price was like 150$ which felt like a good deal to me, especially because it wasn't really worn. Great place for accessories and vintage sunglasses. It was raining on the final day we went so we had to rush though it, but I'd do it again. I think they'll be open around November again..

Chicago Distilling Company is a small-batch distillery and bar located in an airy, wood-beamed warehouse. The distillery offers a wide range of craft spirits, including vodka, white whiskey, gin, and bourbon mash whiskey. Owned by Jay and Vic DiPrizio along with Jay's wife Noelle, the distillery has family roots in distilling and moonshine.
Really great tasting room. Sadly they haven’t resumed doing tours since Covid hit, but the bartenders all know about how each spirit is made. Super high quality spirits and the distillers play around with different mixes (try the espresso vodka!). Some cocktails were handmade and others canned but both excellent. Cool, low key spot.

During my brother's last full day in Chicago (he was in town for the holidays), we visited the Chicago Distilling Company for a tour of their facilities. We have a couple of distilleries in and around Chicago and I've had a chance to visit a few, but this is the first time I had an opportunity to go to this nearby distillery. This is a friendly and inviting place that welcomes you as soon as you come in the door. They only feature their creations, which includes cocktails on tap and "booze in a can cocktails". The tour was well done. The review of how these spirits were made was factual and presented with a nice human touch (you learn how the owners decided to become distillers)...and it was obvious that the master distiller really loved what he was doing. They make gin, vodka, and a variety of whiskeys and even aged in a whiskey barrel maple syrup. We sampled several whiskies including their single malt, bourbon, rye and whisky made using grains typically used for beer. Of all the spirits, I found the gin the very best. This gin would make a great gin and tonic or martini. It also happens to be their best selling spirit. I brought home a 4 pack of their "Chicago Mule in a can cocktail" for my lovely wife. I'm waiting for her taste testing review now. I can highly recommend that you visit the Chicago Distilling Company and go on one of their tours ($10/person). You'll be glad you did.

Coffee shop
Sawada Coffee is a casual coffee lounge in the West Loop area, founded by award-winning Japanese barista Hiroshi Sawada. The cozy and rustic-chic space offers classic coffee drinks like cortados, americanos, espresso, and pour-overs. One of their signature drinks is the Military Latte, a unique blend of Japanese matcha tea, cocoa, vanilla, espresso and foamed milk.
Sawada Coffee lives up to the hype! The line was out the door when I arrived, but once inside, there was plenty of seating and the space is absolutely beautiful—great vibes all around. I had a latte and it was incredible—the espresso beans are truly next level. Smooth, bold, and perfectly balanced. Even their drip coffee impressed me. Most places let it sit too long and it gets bitter, but here it was fresh, vibrant, and full of flavor. Can’t wait to come back. Easily one of my favorite coffee spots in the West Loop.
John A — Google review
If you haven't been to Sawada, what are you even doing? Forget the hype… this place is that good. I usually throw shade at chais, but their iced chai is the only one I trust; it’s perfectly balanced (zero spicy drama). The blueberry muffin topped with cinnamon sugar is a legit glow-up. 🌟 My partner’s hot latte was also fire. Stop scrolling, start sipping. Your coffee life needs this upgrade.
Ryan R — Google review
Walking up to Sawada Coffee, the line was already out the door. It’s a lowkey spot tucked behind a door in Fulton Market, but once you step inside, the atmosphere is vibrant and bustling with people. The line took about 20–30 minutes, so I’d definitely recommend ordering online if you’re in a hurry. I ordered the Camo Latte with no sugar. If you’re someone who doesn’t like sugary drinks, be warned — without sweetness, the flavor balance isn’t great. The matcha and espresso combination didn’t quite come together for me. That’s partly on me for ordering it that way, but it just didn’t taste good plain. One odd thing: I ordered mine warm online, but when my friend tried to order it warm in person, they were told it couldn’t be made that way — which was confusing. The prices are on the premium side, and I have to be honest — the extra charge for “ceremonial matcha” feels misleading. In Japan, “ceremonial” isn’t a special category; it’s more of a Western marketing term. Charging a few extra dollars for that seems unnecessary. It’s fine to make money, but transparency matters. Overall, great vibe, long wait, and overpriced for what you get. Worth checking out once for the atmosphere, but I’d temper expectations on the coffee itself.

I loved my iced vanilla oatmilk latte! Coffee was delicious and service was great. Lots of seating and very unique atmosphere. The only thing is it smells really strong of meat due to it being connected to a restaurant. The smell was a bit rough for me but ended up not taking away from the great coffee!

I tried the military latte and it was a flavorful mix of matcha and espresso. The creamy touch of vanilla went really well with the earthy green tea. Phenomenal theatre and shows! I always recommend taking visitors and friends to The Infinite Wrench. The performers and staff are passionate about the work they create. A friend left a bag of souvenirs at a show recently and management was super helpful in making sure it was returned. I always leave a show wanting to come back for more
Ty C — Google review
I went in curious and open, and I appreciate the passion and values behind the performance. Still, I found the delivery a bit heavy-handed. The show seemed more interested in declaring ideas than exploring them, leaving little room for reflection or dialogue. I share most of the beliefs expressed on stage, but the way they were delivered sometimes felt rigid — even authoritarian at moments. Being asked to wear a mask in 2025, and the tone used to enforce it, came across as more performative than considerate. Worth experiencing once, but not something I’d return to for entertainment.

The Davis Theater in Chicago is a historic movie theater that has been around since 1918. It offers a charming and lovely atmosphere with updated facilities while retaining its beautiful antiquity. The theater has three screens and reasonably priced snacks. However, some patrons have noted occasional sound issues during screenings. Despite this, the theater provides an awesome experience, including opportunities to attend premieres and enjoy free popcorn and soda.
We hosted an event at The Davis for about 60 guests and I can’t say enough good things about the experience. The staff was wonderful, helpful, and energetic. Set up was easy and supported by coordinators. Everyone was extremely kind. My friends & family had a great time and loved the vibe of the theater. So happy to support a neighborhood spot that we’ve been enjoying for years. Love your nachos and your popcorn - you guys are amazing. THANK YOU!

I actually adore this little theater and pray it can succeed long term, where so many other local theaters have failed. My friends and I all brought our kids here when they were growing up, but it’s always been a strain to get them to run PG films and it’s only gotten worse. Fall season is great for movie-going and currently they have four-out-of-four screens running rated R films. It’s a very young neighborhood and if it were my business, I’d have a kids’ film in at least one room at all times - even if you have to dig back for classics. Most of my group has stopped even looking at their schedule when making weekend plans - Give us more to work with and we’ll be there once every single month!

The tour was informative, funny and engaging. Our guide was knowledgeable on the architecture and history and was a great storyteller, sharing Chicago’s architectural evolution with historical facts. We heard stories about the architects and the decades as we went by iconic landmarks like the Willis Tower (former Sears Tower) and Chicago Tribune Building and many others.

We went on the architecture cruise. The Host Kevin was amazing! Fun and exciting. He was so knowledgeable. Sang and told jokes. Because we went on the architecture cruise, we got a deal on another boat ride. We chose the Groove Cruise. They had music and a bar. And it was beautiful! The skyline is gorgeous at night- especially from a boat in the middle of the lake. Both trips were so much fun! Definitely recommend!

Absolutely amazing architecture cruise! We traveled the length of the Chicago River, with full a full description of all of the buildings, including style, history, and various important facts. Our guide, Richard, KNEW everything about what we'd see, presenting it all without the need for notes, and a great deal of wisdom and humor. Definitely worth the trip!

Great river tour that goes over the history of Chicago architecture. The night views were amazing and the tour guide was great. Even had a bar down below. Also enjoyed that their tour was a little bit shorter than others.
Justin — Google review
The tour boat tours around Chicago in the most scenic way possible. Great views of the city. The boat has a clean restroom and covered area towards the back to shield sun and rain. Had a great time.

The Shoreline Sightseeing River Boat Tour was amazing! My husband and I loved every minute of it. The tour guide was friendly, engaging, and very informative — we learned so much about Chicago’s architecture and history. The views were absolutely stunning, especially as the city lights came on at dusk. Highly recommend this experience for anyone visiting Chicago!
Allison S — Google review
I’ve been on this architecture tour a few times now over the years but our most recent one with Sadie as our guide was excellent. Her engaging and humorous way of highlighting the facts and architectural details of Chicago’s skyline made a 75 min tour seem like 45 mins or less! Love to see people who are clearly passionate about what they do and put all their heart into it!

Gastropub
Giant is a funky and intimate gastropub located in the Midwest. They serve delicious innovative dishes that focus on fresh, delicious food favorites. There is a good selection of craft beers and wines as well as interesting cocktail options at Giant.
My husband and I LOVE Giant. We had another exceptional experience there a week ago. Our server, Monica, was lovely and just the right amount of attentive. The food was GREAT. What a delicious, creative menu!
Jennifer G — Google review
Super tasty and unique food at Giant! My friends and I shared several plates and we loved them all. Some standouts were the saffron pasta with crab and the fries with…crab. The atmosphere is a bit loud at the tables. The tables are very close to each other. I think the best spots would be the patio in summer or at the chefs counter (only 4 seats) so you can watch all of the action in the kitchen.
Chris B — Google review
Giant takes some bold swings, and while not every dish is a home run, the hits definitely outweigh the misses. The service was excellent, and the back patio made for a great dining experience - much more comfortable than the slightly cramped front. Some standout dishes for me were the onion rings, baked clam, Sortallini, jalapeño cornbread, scallops, sweetbreads, and corvina. Between the Sortallini and the cornbread, it’s hard to say which I loved more. I wouldn’t order the cumin lamb buns, bucatini, or either of the desserts again. They just didn’t measure up to the other dishes. All in all, I’d still highly recommend Giant. The creativity, strong service, and standout dishes make it well worth a visit.

The hostess was probably stressed out, but she came off annoyed and stand offish when I came in. Immediate turn off. The server was wonderful & helpful! Bust peeps/food runners were nice too. The food was decent. If you are a seafood lover, you’ll enjoy the tagliatelle. The eggplant was okay, but the pitta was delicious. All cocktails were well made, so I have no complaints. Also tried their watermelon salad which was mid. I got seated inside which was nice & quiet for an after workday dinner. You are charge a % to cover employee health insurance, so crossing my fingers that goes to part-time direct staff and not their GMs! LOL Overall, decent experience. I would come back only for the cocktails and check out the patio seating (reading reviews that it is nice)…maybe give the apps another chance. If I could, I would give a 3.5 star rating for my overall experience :)
Leslie M — Google review
Fantastic! The trout roe was delicious. Crab salad amazing. Eggplant was so tasty. Everything was 5 stars and the rear patio is relaxed and warm!
Graff K — Google review
Giant is consistently one of the best meals at this price point in the city. I’ve never had a bad meal here and the wine selection is also stellar. Perfect for a date night or going out with friends. Anything pasta or seafood or veggie is always a good choice here.
Leon C — Google review
Overall, giant was great. I couldn’t recommend the drunken beef more. It was excellent. I wish we ordered more of it. As for the overall experience, the rest of the food was good and the pricing was very affordable and reasonable. It was a little bit tight in the restaurant, but it wasn’t too bad. I would come back here.
Devin S — Google review
I came back after 8 years and was a bit nervous, but I wasn’t disappointed. This is still a fantastic restaurant with such a warm and talented team. We sat at the chef’s counter, which was a wonderful experience — watching the kitchen in action really added to the evening. Everything we tried was exceptional, but the eggplant and the beef stood out as real highlights.

Cocktail bar
Z Bar, located on the sixth floor of The Peninsula Hotel in Chicago, offers a posh and upscale lounge experience. The bar boasts expertly crafted cocktails with extravagant options like the Manhattan Royale made with premium whiskey or bourbon and adorned with 24-karat gold flakes. Guests can also indulge in a variety of globally inspired tapas such as tuna tartare, chicken karaage, and daikon frites.
It's been a minute since my last visit here but it's just as nice as I remembered. Great drinks and service. The snacks are pretty decent too (get the daikon fries).
Justine C — Google review
recently visited Z Bar at the Peninsula Chicago for a light evening of appetizers and dessert, and it was an absolutely delightful experience. The restaurant has a cozy and elegant ambiance, making it a perfect spot to unwind. The menu offered a great variety, and I cannot recommend the warm vanilla bean beignets enough – they were heavenly and a must-try! The service was impeccable. Sara, our server, was attentive and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed, while Julia, the host, greeted us warmly and made us feel welcome from the start. Overall, Z Bar exceeded my expectations, and I would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a refined yet comfortable dining experience in Chicago.
ARI K — Google review
Me and my friend were visiting from out of town. Both of us enjoy to spend our evenings with good food, drinks and nice views. However Z bar, left us both underwhelmed and disappointed. When we first arrived we waited at the hostess stand for about 30 minutes and no one was there to sit us. We noticed two couples get seated before us and they arrived after us. When the hostess came towards us, she started asking us questions about our hotel room and if we were guests. Also she didn't ask where we would like to sit like the couples in front of us. None of these hotel questions were asked to the couples in front of us, which gave a hint of casual racism and discrimination. I've lived in many other big cities and would never expect to experience this service from Z Bar in Chicago. Definitely left with a poor taste. Although it was an unwelcoming environment when we first arrived, our server was polite and attentive. We enjoyed our drinks and the view. The oysters were okay. However I would not recommend them.
Gabby G — Google review
Fun and very creative cocktails, they also have a great selection of whiskey, and the view is wonderful. Very comfortable and chic atmosphere, they even have blankets and a fire pit.
M F — Google review
Z Bar in Chicago, located in the iconic Peninsula Hotel, is a classy lounge with both an elegant indoor space — featuring a stunning central bar — and an outdoor terrace where you can soak in the beautiful skyline views. The cocktails are excellent, and I really appreciated the personalized service from the bartender, who crafted a custom mocktail just for me — and it was delicious! I’ll definitely be back for a night out with friends.
Cassandre N — Google review
Uptempo vibe. Staff super nice. Adam behind the bar was friendly and playful banter. Cool atmosphere. Outdoor space too. Which was chic as you can see in the pics.
Byron S — Google review
Having spent a long day shopping, we were looking for a pick-me-up in a relaxed atmosphere. The hostess Yulia went out of her way to seat us in a quieter section of the bar, and even gave us a rather generously spaced booth where we could set down our many bags. We were so grateful! Our server Melissa was no less attentive and professional. She knows the menu by heart and guided us to the right choices. Highly recommend the paloma (pictured), the seasonal sliders, the caviar potato bites, and the lemongrass mousse. Melissa is one of those rare servers who shows up just at the right moments: she kept our water and tea perpetually full, checked in with us about our food, and made some pleasant small talk. A truly wonderful experience and we hope to be back soon.
Rachel S — Google review
My friends and I went to the Z Bar at the Peninsula Hotel in downtown Chicago for some midday drinks and a terrace view of the city. The environment and service in there were fantastic, since it’s a five-star hotel. They even have fire pits outside. We didn’t stay outside long because it’s cold but we took some photos and went back inside. It’s a nice bougie and comfortable spot to hang out :)

Training center
The Second City Training Center is a vibrant hub for comedy enthusiasts, offering an array of stand-up performances, improv shows, and experimental works that showcase the talents of both seasoned and emerging comedians. Renowned as one of Chicago's top comedy venues, it has been a launching pad for iconic figures like Tina Fey and Stephen Colbert. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, with knowledgeable instructors who are dedicated to nurturing student talent.
Had a blast at the show I got to see. I will definitely come back when I'm in Chicago again. I really like the feel of the whole building, all the classrooms, different stages, and bar. Made me miss getting up in stage myself.
Tim O — Google review
This place is not for kids, and the shows are extremely political for some reason. It's like they are incapable of doing any sort of comedy without getting way too stressed about politics. Anyway, it was a unique experience to be in such a famous comedy club and see a show. If you're into this stuff at all, you'll probably enjoy it. Seeing the famous actors and actresses that got their start here was pretty cool.
Ken S — Google review
We went to “The Best of Chicago” at Judy’s Beat Lounge. While the show was not funny (room seemed to agree), the reason for this 1-star review is that the waiter served everyone in the room but us and another couple located at the front. As the whole room enjoyed their drinks, we never got the opportunity to order anything. The waiter was next to us at some point, but turned around before we could place an order and we never saw this person again. With these prices, lack of humor and service, I would recommend the Lincoln Lodge instead.
Jan V — Google review
I took IMPROV FOR ACTORS this week as an intensive. I was supposed to have Rachel Mason but she only attended the first day as she was sick and we ended up having Law Tarello for days 2 through 5. Law was excellent. However, the lights weren't always on in the theater and class couldn't start ontime because of this on multiple days. It was hard to find a staff member that would help us get going. Law didn't have access to the lighting booth. The building was full of students for camps so if you don't like being around large crowds (including tons of kids) don't take a summer intensive. The building is hard to navigate so you need to go to orientation on the first day of class. You'll get it after the second day. I felt like the price was good for the class that I took. I would definitely go back but I think management needs to sweep through public areas and cladsroom more regularly to ensure high-quality customer service.
Bevan B — Google review
Camps strongly not recommended for children. Unfortunately our son felt picked on (bullied was his language) by one of the teachers the first day of class. We alerted the head of the camp but it was not addressed, and in the next day the same game with the same teacher was done resulting in our 2nd grader feeling picked on again and a situation with the teacher again. The third day he was picked on by other kids at lunch resulting in another altercation - and ultimately exiting camp completely. We thought Second City would be a safe, supportive place given their work with adults on anxiety and other life skills, but our 8 year old experienced the most bully-filled environment without a management staff that proactively worked to address it. We've never had any behavior like this at school or other camps, and we've never seen this type of fear of our child about going into a lunch or class/camp with a specific teacher.
Familia L — Google review
Went to see “Shamilton” where they improvised a musical about a celebrity, historical figure, etc. The audience selected Leif Erickson which I had little hope for but this group did a great job creating a comical tale incorporating parodies of some of the music from Hamilton. Much smaller and simpler venue than I anticipated but it comfortable and every seat is a good seat.
Kelly R — Google review
Great vibes and super well versed teachers. Building is super accommodating for parking, food/discounts in house and 3rd party discounts in Pipers Alley. Lots of tables and couches near the classrooms to do homework for your class or converse on a project. Student success staff is absolutely phenomenal and has saved me a lot of time and fear by actively hearing my concerns, discovering solutions that worked for me and then communicating them with me in a timely manner. If if you feel creative like this is your thing, THIS is your place.
Saambo — Google review
65 years show sucked. Maybe the others are better. Dont pay more than $40 tops. Best thing was the free tap water. Just because funny people were there in the past doesn’t mean they’re funny now!
