Bistro
French restaurant
Bistronomic is a stylish dining spot in the Gold Coast, offering creative and modern French cuisine. The menu features small, medium, and large plates, including the standout Ahi tuna nicoise with Gulf of Mexico tuna and a unique house-made vinaigrette. Located near Chicago's Magnificent Mile, the restaurant serves traditional French dishes like croque monsieur and also offers a special weekend treat of bottomless mimosas.
My husband and I went to Bistronomic for the Taste of Iceland Event. This meal was absolutely outstanding. This reminded us of many of the meals we have had while traveling in Iceland and were very impressed. I wish I could have gotten seconds of the arctic char on rye bread. The cod was like butter and full of flavor. The lamb with potato fondant was so delicious. My husband absolutely loved the dessert. He had done the cocktail pairing which I would recommend. The staff were all outstanding and attentive from the moment we walked through the door. Service definitely went above and beyond. We definitely will be going back to Bistronomic for a non-event dinner as well because we were blown away with this meal.

Incredible brunch experience! Sandra took great care of us, and the entire staff was attentive and welcoming. The service was seamless, with plenty of helpful hands making everything run smoothly. The food was absolutely amazing—rich and dynamic, yet still light and balanced. Truly a beautiful French dining experience! Orange French toast was to die for.
Caitlin A — Google review
While on vacation in Chicago a local told us that if we enjoy authentic French food that we had to go to Bistronomic. I don’t think I’ve actually ever had authentic French cuisine, but now that I have I will definitely be seeking it out in the future. This was an absolute treat and a must visit if you are in Chicago. The gourmet grilled cheese sandwich was everything it promised to be and I cannot wait to return to Chicago so that I can have that sandwich again. And don’t skip out on dessert. It is worth every single calorie and then some.
Jenna K — Google review
Cute ambiance and flavorful food! We got the prefix and got 3 course meal (stress free) I love the mussels, the soup was fantastic. The first course were alright. The lamb was very tender and fall off the bone. But the vinegar was a little too overpowering and washout the lamb flavor. The desserts were cute and memorable. I would recommend this place!
Grace Z — Google review
I really wanted to rate this place higher. I believe it’s the owners who are French and check in on you - they are very nice. The ambience is pretty nice but it does feel a little corporate if that makes sense, the music is great. The food was just ok, I think mon ami , chez Joel or le petit Marcel are better. The steak frites weirdly seemed to be a little flat/flavorless. My wife had the duck and really liked it and also really liked the black and white crème brûlée. But…..I’m writing this review the next morning and let’s just say my stomach really did not agree with the food. The bill ended up being around 140 before tip for 1 duck app, 1 French onion soup, 1 steak frites, a creme brûlée, a glass of wine and 2 beers. Little pricey for not having two full entrees but kind of what I would expect from downtown Chicago.
James P — Google review
Excellent food, great variety of classic french dishes and seasonal menus. Staff is very warm and welcoming. The chef came around twice to check on everyone’s experience. 10/10 French Family Approved! Merci Beaucoup!
Nathan S — Google review
This is a small authentic france bistro with welcoming cozy atmosphere, wonderful service and savory french dishes! The chef (also the owner) came out a couple of times to greet his customers demonstrating his love of this restaurant and food with authenticity. We had delicious steak frites with amazing truffle wine sauce, coq au vin, tuna tartare, gazpacho, baked alaska, espresso martini, port and our favorite Saint Joseph wine 😃
Christine — Google review
Went for brunch today. Service was friendly. The food was amazing. Had duck confit with the brioche French toast. The duck confit was tender with crispy skin, the French toast was rich, custardy and decadent. Also had steak frites. Steak was perfectly cooked and the frites came out piping out. Also had the smoked salmon club sandwich. Was a generous serving and very tasty. It’s a beautiful bistro - the chairs were so comfy. Great atmosphere. Would highly recommend.

Boqueria Fulton Market is a Barcelona-inspired restaurant offering a delightful menu of classic tapas and traditional brunch options. The paella, featuring succulent pork belly, slow-roasted chicken, and sweet piquillo peppers topped with farm-fresh poached eggs, is particularly satisfying. The a la carte menu includes an array of tapas, seasonal salads, and the Pollo Rustido Feast—a Catalan-style roasted chicken dish served with seasonal vegetables and farm-fresh eggs.
If you’re looking for an unforgettable dining experience in the heart of Fulton Market, look no further than Boqueria. I recently had the pleasure of trying their Chef’s Tasting Menu, and from start to finish, it was nothing short of phenomenal. From the moment we walked in when it was pouring outside, we were greeted warmly by Giovanni, who set the tone for the evening with his welcoming energy and expert knowledge of the menu. His passion for hospitality was evident—he guided us through each course with thoughtful descriptions, perfect drink pairings, and just the right amount of charm. Now, onto the food: the Chef’s Tasting Menu is an absolute must. Every dish told a story, balancing bold Spanish flavors with inventive modern twists. The selection of tapas was perfectly curated—think melt-in-your-mouth jamón ibérico, blistered shishito peppers, and a standout pulpo a la plancha (grilled octopus) that was tender and rich with smoky depth. The star of the evening had to be the paella, brought out with dramatic flair. The saffron aroma hit first, followed by layers of perfectly cooked bomba rice, fresh shellfish, and that magical socarrat at the bottom of the pan that every paella lover dreams of. Dessert was equally impressive—an airy churro with dark chocolate dipping sauce that ended the night on a high note. What made the experience exceptional, beyond the food, was Giovanni’s attention to detail. He anticipated our needs, explained each dish with genuine excitement, and made us feel like VIPs throughout the night. Whether you’re celebrating something special or just in the mood for a memorable meal, Boqueria Fulton Market delivers. Ask for Giovanni and go for the Chef’s Tasting Menu—you won’t regret it.

Came here in the afternoon a couple weeks ago for a late lunch. Overall, we felt like almost every dish was missing some aspect to make the dish enjoyable. Also, I feel like some of the descriptions could’ve been better written. We did enjoy our cocktails, service was good, and vibes were nice. However, I think there are a few other Tapas spots in the city that I’d rather frequent
Curtis M — Google review
Food was excellent - shared many dishes with a group. The paella was the stand out, so so good. Service was extremely slow, but we were there during a large event in Fulton Market, so this may not be the normal service.

Jose was an excellent server. Very personable, gave recommendations, and made accommodations for me. I don’t drink alcohol and he suggested an off the menu option (margarita - tequila) and it was perfect.

The Worst Customer Service ever! Kitchen is completely mismanaged and has no idea that items A La Carte must be served at the same time for a group dining of 3 people! Our items were brought 20 minutes apart which is completely ridiculous! The Restaurant Manager did not seem to care ! They even ran out of Ketchup! Nice! The Free Complementary Deserts were not served! Cream Catalan was not served because they ran out of the butane!! How pathetic that this place is so grossly mismanaged! The Worst Service in Chicago!

Loud but vibrant atmosphere. The food is amazing and very flavorful. The patatas bravas and the bikini (last picture) were delicious and they are now my favorites. I have returned 3 times since my husband brought me his leftovers! The albondigas (1st picture)and the mini hamburguesas were delectable. The Forget me Not NA beverage was just okay. Not much flavor. Maybe the ginger beer was flat and the lime was not in season. However, the waiter did ask if I did not like it and if I wanted something else because I was very slow at drinking it. The tarta de naranja was moist and had a light essence of orange. Overall, great experience and I will definitely return.
Xiomara O — Google review
Boqueria in Chicago/Fulton Market is fantastic. We visited during happy hour and loved the vibe. The dirty martini and espresso martinis were the best we have had. The atmosphere is cool and lively, and the servers were very attentive. Our favorite dishes were the Gambas al Ajillo with shrimp, garlic, brandy, lobster reduction, and peppers in olive oil, and the Brussels sprouts with Jamón Ibérico vinaigrette, golden raisins, and dried cranberries. Both were outstanding and packed with flavor. We will definitely be back.
Kendra — Google review
I come here fairly regularly, it's close to my office so mostly weekday happy hour around 5ish. Their happy hour is good, usually busy but not crammed, and the bar team gives fantastic service. I popped in today(a Wednesday) and had to share what I experienced, in hopes management will maybe listen from a patrons perspective. I arrived around 5, and first off the staff was doing a tasting in the middle of the dining room. Very awkward. But I can get past that. What truly got me upset enough to write this...by 6 pm they had a full restaurant, full bar and a private party. And ONE BARTENDER. this poor bartender was handling the happy hour crowd, a full restaurant, and a private party already demanding special treatment. Who thinks this is the right way to treat their staff and how good do you think the service is for any one of your patrons? That is horrible management, period. Do better.

Bandit is a trendy spot in the West Loop, offering a mix of bar fare and brunch options alongside craft cocktails, beer, and wine. The restaurant boasts a convivial setting where patrons can enjoy hearty dishes like the chicken shawarma salad, which combines marinated chicken with couscous, almonds, cherry tomatoes, pickled onions, grapes, and crispy chickpeas on a bed of arugula lettuce mixed with lemon tahini yogurt.
The HH dishes are ginormous. One plate is more than enough per person. I really enjoyed the hot chicken tenders and the Samantha cocktail. The gold digger was decent and the shady lady was pretty good too. The disco waffle fries were additionally pretty tasty (next time I’ll probably ask for cheese on the side), and the cauliflower was good as well. I did not get to try the kale/artichoke dip but it looked good. Our waitress Amy was kind and attentive. I’ll be back! Would love to try more items and join for trivia.

Our server was Maria and she was amazing. Very attentive and magic quick on her feet. The food was spectacular. I got the breakfast burrito, which was as amazing. I also got the all you can drink mimosas. I highly recommend all the all you can drink drinks here. The mimosas were to die for. I will be coming back to this establishment. We did reserve a table beforehand. We did that all you can drink for two hours. Maria was a doll and topped us off.. I’m still highly recommend the food. I would highly recommend coming back and asking for Maria.
Maggie J — Google review
Bandit is a fun spot in the West Loop with a lively vibe and a mix of vintage tavern and modern style. The food is not bad with creative touches, and the cocktails were good. it’s a great spot for brunch with friends. Seating is very close and a little cramped.
Jonathan L — Google review
I visited Bandit today with some friends from out of town before a show at the Chicago Theater. It is conveniently located right by the green line which takes you to and from right outside the theater. The service at bandit was great. Our waitress was very kind and took good care of us. We started with the city triple dipper, Bandit’s take on the infamous chilis triple dipper. The food was decent, but given the size for the price I do not recommend. For $26 you get 2 sliders, 4 triangles of mozzarella, and 3 thin chicken tenders. (Sizes included for reference but we ate the sliders and 2 mozz sticks before a picture could be taken) For dinner I had the grilled chicken sandwich which was fine. The chicken was well seasoned but a little dry. I would say it was nothing special. My boyfriend had the double bandit burger which he enjoyed more than my sandwich. He said it was cooked to his liking and flavorful. If you come here, it seems burgers are your safe bet to order from the menu. I am just honestly a little disappointed in the quality and quantity of the food for the price point. If you are looking for a spot to head to before the Chicago theater, I’d say check out other restaurants in the west loop.
Reilly D — Google review
Came here for happy hour with my friend. The disco fries were amazing, they included waffle fries topped with cheese, kimchi and beef short ribs. The mozzarella sticks were nice and airy with thick, gooey cheese and came with two sauces. One was ranch with Parmesan and the other was standard marinara. The cocktails were strong and unique, and the food was quality all for just 8 dollars each. Happy hour is 4-6 pm Mon-Fri, would definitely recommend.
Medina — Google review
Went for brunch, unlimited mimosas and bloodys are a good deal if you plan to be there for a while. The mozz sticks are cheese pull worthy! Also got the avocado toast - dare I say too much avocado? And a little more on the guacamole side of avocado. It was still fairly good. Our table had a good time. We loved all the 90s band themed bathrooms!

Mexican restaurant
Barrio is a vibrant Mexican restaurant located in River North, offering a creative twist on traditional Mexican cuisine with influences from pan-Latin and American flavors. The restaurant features a rustic-industrial ambiance and serves up an array of cocktails along with an extensive tequila menu. Adjacent to the restaurant is La Bodega, which combines elements of a Mexican convenience store, coffee shop, and taco counter. They offer a variety of coffee options and are known for their impressive latte art.
Not sure why this isn't a 4.5 or higher rated Mexican restaurant. The food was fantastic. The table side guac was one of the best I've had, and my fish tacos were full of flavor. The margarita pitcher was delicious but the "special" was still overpriced for the portion.
John A — Google review
The enchiladas were really good! I prefer green sauce over red, but both come on the plate if you don’t ask for one sauce specifically so you can try for yourself! Service was great, the interiors are gorgeous. Wonderful spot for a relatively quick dinner.

Was such a great experience at this Mexican restaurant. The food and drinks were amazing. The table side guac was one of the best I've had, made fresh right in front of you. Table service was amazing and the staff were exceptional. Was a busy time but they had us seated right away and got us going. Highly recommend!
Ajo G — Google review
We went for Sunday brunch, and I have the fried chicken and churros. A nice combo and the churros, syrup and hot sauce were very good. The issue is the chicken was small and I was still hungry. A person in our group had a bottomless mimosa and the server was really good about refilling it.
Felix M — Google review
Nice place, modern, food was very good. It's noisy and they were slow on getting the food out, even appetizers. Our main server was very good and attentive so it maybe a reflection of how busy they were. They have gluten free options too. We had a party of 7 so had made a reservation and we didnt wait at all. Drinks were good too. I would recommend them.
Valia — Google review
A nice and vibrant place if you would like to have some amazing Mexican food. We started off with their margaritas which were spicy and potent. Their salad was really fresh and portion enough for two people. Their carnitas fried rice was really flavorful. In all a great experience good vibe and good food.

El Mariachi Tequila Bar & Grill is a great place to go for Mexican food and drinks. They have a huge menu with lots of options, and the service is excellent. The margaritas are especially good here, and the fried ice cream is a perfect way to end your meal.
If you’re looking for authentic Mexican food with some modern flare, this is the place for you. The food is absolutely delicious and comes out to the table well presented and hot! The service was exceptional and the atmosphere is fun and authentic.

Came here for the bottomless mimosas and was quite surprised by the excellent service and yummy food! Armando was a great waiter, always checking on our table and on top of refills. Highly recommend and will be coming back:)
Vanessa B — Google review
The food is definitely made for a certain demographic. I wouldn’t say this is good or real Mexican food. See the picture of the “nachos” as an example. Save your money and go to Taco and Burrito House across the street. They also weren’t busy and didn’t check on us after taking our order until we were done eating and ready to take the check.
G F — Google review
Loved our time here! The drinks and food were delicious. Definitely enjoy the patio if you can! My taco salad was full of the flavors I love. Husband’s shrimp and pollo was his favorite dish. Daughter’s vegetarian poblano burrito was all she’d hoped for and gave her lunch for the next day. My blackberry margarita was amaaazing, husband’s avacado mango margarita was out of this world. Then we had a happy hour sangria that was made from scratch - not too sweet and balanced with spices that made it perfect.
Renee M — Google review
This spot has tanked. Twice now, the food comes out wayyyyy longer than you think it will take, and it’s largely cold, or undercooked (think raw hashbrowns, fries cold but also over fried? No one in our party of big eaters finished their plate. By the time the food came, we were just tired of waiting, but truly 80% of it sucked. We were embarrassed to have brought our family here. Homemade chips and salsa are the only redemption. Staff is well intentioned but unable to solve kitchen problems. Pic of me trying to recook the generally uncooked food we received at home.
Stefanie G — Google review
Absolutely fantastic time at El Mariachi. Went for a boozy all you can drink mimosa brunch, and they were more than generous and on top of refilling the mimosas. Partner and I went with the Birria Grilled Cheese (s/o Guy Fieri) and it was as just as wonderful as you would imagine it to be. Will be back here!
Tim — Google review
Great food, friendly service, and awesome margs. I had a great dinner at El Mariachi last weekend. I ordered the cheese enchiladas with elote and black beans. They had great flavor! The classic margarita is the perfect combination of sweet and tart at a great price. It was raining, but next time I’ll be sure to check out their massive patio in the back.
Chris B — Google review
A relative recommended this place to us, it was worth trying out. Food was delicious, service was great, the outside patio is super romantic at night with the lights and music. We both had the Pollo En Salsa with Suiza. Come try it out for yourself!

Recess is a vibrant restaurant and bar located in the West Loop, offering elevated American cuisine and a lively atmosphere. The venue features a vast patio with multiple bars and a multi-level set-up, creating one of the city's largest outdoor patios. The theme of City Hall adds an interesting touch to the experience, with menus resembling municipal forms and cocktails named after political references. Guests can enjoy various activities such as board games, bags, or giant beer pong with trash cans.
Recess 🥰🥰🥰🥰is a fantastic spot if you’re looking for a party vibe without overwhelming noise. It’s lively and fun, but not too loud — perfect for socializing, celebrating, or just having a great night out with friends while still being able to hold a conversation. The food is surprisingly great for a party-focused place, with a menu that’s creative, flavorful, and way above typical bar fare. Whether you’re grabbing appetizers or a full meal, everything is fresh and well-prepared. The layout and atmosphere also make it stand out — open, stylish, and welcoming. Whether you’re inside or enjoying the outdoor space, it’s a great place to relax, eat, and vibe. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a fun night out with good food, music, and a chill crowd. Recess hits that perfect balance!

Fabulous Prom cocktail hour for our high school prom. Great location, atmosphere and bar. We had no food for the gathering but loved it.

I went to an event last night. This place is nice. The area is nice too. I didn't have any food or drinks. The drinks are pricey from what I've seen. The only thing I'll take away is no chairs with tables. What's the point of having tables with no chairs. I saw the chairs stacked up. Please fix that.

This place is so cute and fun! Bottomless mimosas are a steal. Lucia was a fantastic server and took great care of us. Would definitely come back for brunch!

We went to a party with some great DJs, and I was really looking forward to it. I like the location and how the bar is set up. My friend and I wanted to step outside, so we followed the sign that said “Exit.” Suddenly, a security guard ran up to us and started yelling, saying we weren’t allowed to be there. He was very rude and aggressive. I want to emphasize that there was only a sign saying “Exit” and nothing else. If he had told us politely, we would have immediately turned around without any questions. There was no sign saying “Staff Only,” no divider, nothing to make it clear. How were we supposed to know that, especially since it was our first time there? That being said, the music was amazing, and the cocktails were great, but this incident really left a very unpleasant impression on the whole evening.

The vibes here are really great. The space is huge and great for big parties. Food and drinks were good too.

This place was amazing! I had the best experience and the owner was beyond helpful and original. I ordered tye cheeseburger and it came with fries and a salad. It was juicy and so much flavor. Incredible! My husband had the mac and cheese with mushrooms and pulled pork. He's called it surprisingly and unexpectedly delicious. Exceeded all expectations

They have a bottomless mimosas ad. Servers were awesome btw. But bottomless means bottomless so buyer beware. If you actually take advantage of the offer, the owner will find ways to block you from ordering more. Lmao. This might sound nuts like how much can you drink. But that’s the deal, and after only 2 bottles they blocked the entire group from ordering more. Buyer beware!!!

Wine bar
Avec Restaurant, located in West Loop, has been a popular spot since its opening in 2003. The cozy and minimalist space offers communal seating and a forward-thinking wine list. One of their standout dishes is the juicy medjool date wrapped in bacon and served with piquillo pepper tomato sauce. Inspired by the sun-drenched wine regions of Southwestern Europe, Avec offers creative sharing plates paired with a carefully-selected fresh wine list featuring options from across Europe.
I've heard so much abt avec that I decided to give it a try. I was a bit surprised at how small(?) the restaurant is. I realized the pics I've seen of the restaurant was the river north location. Overall, we enjoyed the food. Our favorite was the dip with kale. They didn't have pizza on the menu (maybe it's only avail at dinner time?) Our server recommended the dates which I usually LOVE and always order whenever I see them on the menu, but the bacon wrapped dates here were a bit too salty. Btw, their seats are really uncomfortable. I think they seat you at the bar(?) area if you're a party of 2, but we asked for a table area.

The atmosphere at avec is warm and inviting, with a lively but comfortable energy. The menu focuses on Mediterranean-inspired small plates, and everything we tried was fresh and full of flavor. The wine list has plenty of great options that pair nicely with the food. Service was friendly and attentive without feeling rushed. It’s a great place to relax, share dishes, and enjoy a meal with friends.

First time here and the food left an impression! Met up with some friends and the atmosphere was chill, unpretentious. The food was so flavorful and vibrant. Everything was a 10/10. Also the lemonade was great! Also excellent tea selection.

What an amazing treat! Enjoyed my evening at avec. Often times when I have to travel for business, I am treated as less than and only marginally cared for. Not the case at Avec! Everybody from the people tending to the water to the waiter to the manager, treated me as a guest and with amazing care! The food Outstanding and unique! The only problem is that I wish I had a larger stomach to try more of what was on the menu. If I return to Chicago, I plan to bring my wife and anyone I travel with.

Hands down the best meal we had in Chicago. The hummus with peas and sumac was amazing, so smooth and flavorful and the pita was so fresh. I had no idea what to expect from the chorizo stuffed dates but they were delicious and the tomato sauce with crusty bread made it even better. We also got the shawarma chicken, so juicy and well seasoned. It was a lot of food for 2 people, but the happy hour is great value. $10 carafinas of wine too!
Mads M — Google review
Came here for a late night snack / second dinner for just the bacon wrapped, chorizo stuffed dates and they didn't disappoint. I will say, they're pretty sizeable and very filling. My only qualms of this restaurant is that it's a pretty small space and felt like they packed us in like sardines. We were seated at the same table with a group of 7 people celebrating a birthday and it made us feel like we shouldn't have been there. The noise level is also pretty loud as well.
Becky T — Google review
We keep getting drawn back to Avec in each visit to Chicago. It’s just so good. After a late lunch we weren’t too hungry but got the shrimp , hummus, steak and cabbage. Shrimp is so good. Make sure you grab all the deliciousness sitting under the sea of butter. Scrape it off the bottom of the cast iron and dump it into the shrimp or bread. You will love it. The anchovy butter on the steak is equally as delicious and I mopped every scrap of it off the plate. The cabbage was something I wouldn’t normally order but I wanted to see why someone might. What a fantastic dish. Perfect balance of flavors and textures and the rice pilaf under it could be a dish on its own I might even sneak back today for it. Well done team Avec. Will see you again.

We came here for dinner, and overall had a good meal. We ordered the prawns and chorizo stuffed dates for small plates, the deluxe focaccia and chicken shawarma for large plates, and the short rib hummus. Although the chicken shawarma was tender and juicy, it was definitely overpriced. However, the rest of the food was good. Our favorites were the chorizo stuffed dates and the short rib hummus. Overall a nice meal!

Hub 51 is a versatile eatery offering a diverse menu of nachos, burgers, sushi, and salads for lunch, dinner, weekend brunch, and late-night dining. Guests can also enjoy bottomless mimosas or bellinis with their meal.
Beautiful venue, with separate bar and restaurant areas, and modern yet elegant decor. The ambiance is perfect for romantic dinners or gatherings with friends, accompanied by pleasant background music. The service is impeccable and super friendly. The menu offers a limited selection of dishes, including both meat and fish options. The desserts are excellent (skillet brownie suggested). Overall, it was a fantastic experience!

Best smash burger I've ever had by far! It left both of our mouths watering for more. It was very nostalgic for me because where I'm from all burgers are smash burgers and recently more and more restaurants have added them to the menu in Chicago, but none of them come close to this Wagyu beef version, plus they make a vegetarian version! I also enjoyed the lemonade, it was quite refreshing. Service was superb, I recommend sitting in Ginger's section anytime. If you're particular about your beer be warned they are a popular spot so they might run out of your favorite but the staff will make a comparable recommendation. The so called "famous" pulled chicken nachos were okay, not great. It had phenomenal guacamole though, but other than that it was nothing to write home about. The way it's piled up your chips instantly get soggy and the pulled chicken lacked in flavor. You mostly taste cheese and guacamole. No one at my table was pleased with their fries at all so the star here was DEFINITELY the burger. I'm grateful Ginger suggested adding onions and bacon, it really complimented the toasted bun and elevated the Wagyu beef. It's a great spot for large groups, but considering the food overall didn't live up to the hype and the prices are high I'll end up reordering just the burger via DoorDash.

We had a beautiful dinner at Hub 51. Our server Zoe was excellent. It was Saturday night so as you can imagine it was very busy and quite loud. I would definitely suggest making a reservation on such a busy night. Also get the Bang Bang cauliflower- it's unspeakably good!!

Three of us had a late lunch here after arriving in town for a conference. We sat in the outside patio area since the weather was great. We shared some guacamole for an appetizer and one of us ordered the highly recommended blue cheese burger (as per our server Jacob H.), while I ordered the Cesar salad with salmon and another ordered the shrimp ceviche. The service was great, in part to our server who was extremely personable and attentive. The guacamole and burger were also great. But the salmon with my salad was a little over cooked, so a bit dry. And the Shrimp ceviche tasted a little bit too much like tomato paste, as my friend noted. It lacked the fresh, lime flavor that great shrimp ceviche should have.

Stopped by with some friends recently for some food. Although it can get pretty crowded, especially on weekends, the service and attention was still good. I ended up ordering the nachos which are a way bigger portion than I expected - and they are actually very good as well. Nachos seem to be more of a shareable dish though - I didn’t even get close to finishing them.

Overall, food is pretty mid. I got the breakfast nachos which were pretty decent! Drinks were tasty and strong! My friends got the chicken biscuit and pancake breakfast sandwich which they wouldn’t try again. Would be a great bottomless place! Pack your food on the side and portions for the nachos were huge!
Cindy D — Google review
I was a bit skeptical of this place, but boy did it prove me wrong. The atmosphere was nice inside and the staff was fun. Their cocktails were tasty and the menu was just long enough to make good decisions. We started with the tempura cauliflower and the chicken spring rolls. The cauliflower was AMAZING. Something so simple, but really on point with taste. The sauce that is on top is definitely just mayo and some hot sauce but in the perfect ratio. We almost ordered a second round. The chicken rolls came with some of the spiciest mustard I've ever had and it was sooo good. My friend and I split the kale salad and burger. We asked for a pretzel bun and our other friend ended up with the pretzel bun on his sandwich. Unfortunate but the burger with blue cheese was really well cooked and quite delicious. This was a really unexpected pleasant surprise of a restaurant.

Bar
Bar Roma is a charming Italian restaurant located in Andersonville, Chicago. The warm and stylish setting offers traditional Italian cooking paired with craft cocktails and wines. The menu features hearty Roman dishes such as Cacio e Pepe, Bucatini all'Amatriciana, and Carbonara, along with crispy Jewish style fried baby artichokes and stuffed rice croquettes.
I have been wanting to do here ever since I moved into the area 1.5 years ago. This space was special to me as it has previously been my favorite restaurant in all of Chicago, Atlantique. When that place closed down I was very sad and hoped something great would take its place. I'm not sure if Bar Roma was the immediate replacement but this was so good! I went for happy hour as the menu looked pretty damn good. Their full menu looks great as well. I started with the cocktail special which was very tasty. They brought bread out, which I didn't expect, and it was amazing! Warm, crunchy crust and so soft. The oil and Parmesan cheese plate was so good! Then had the meatball which was amazing, very big plate for a happy hour dish. Then I had the breaded shrimp and this you too was great! I wanted to order the mussels but was already very full. Had their white wine which was good. The space is great! Really love what they did with it. The bartender was very nice. Definitely will return. Need to try the full menu next time.

Goodbye & Farewell Bar Roma… 🥲 it was good while it lasted… The first two years we went to Bar Roma. We had great experiences- it’s been on its way downhill the last year and this last reservation led to wanting to post this review. All the same issue the last four times we ate there Staff being rude and Half of the items on the menu, either being undercooked or tasteless… We kept thinking the next visit would be like it used to be and chalked it off to them having an off night. This reservation was The last straw… It started off with a very unpleasant hostess, greeting us who clearly was having a bad day and not afraid to let it show.-to then getting seated at a table that was way too small for five people. we were crammed like sardines. I politely asked if we would be able to lift the edge of the table up and if the restaurant got busy we would drop it back down Anything to accommodate the size of our party that had a reservation for 5 would’ve been great. She said no. then left and came back and said she asked the manager and he also said no but never came over to see what he could do or clarify what we were dealing with, and we didn’t want to be difficult. So we decided to make the best of it not let it affect our evening. I basically sat 2 feet back and at my appetizer holding my plate. Then I ran into the manager outside the restroom and asked politely since no customers had come in and been sat in that area …the restaurant is very empty .. Could we please flip the corner so we could enjoy our main course with not being crammed in -he said NO again, because if the restaurant got busy. it would be tight for the staff to get through -which I understood. I thought well ??? don’t you know if your restaurant is booked for the evening or not- but I let it be. He then suggested. Well you could move all of your plates and your drinks and your coats over to community table which had broken seating throughout, but we wouldn’t all be able to sit together🤪 Right in Front of the hot kitchen where everyone is yelling orders, back-and-forth and pick up and tons of traffic picking up food and serving .. Which is great if it’s one or two people, but not for mature group of five Intimately celebrating a family anniversary . I had to eat my meal with my chair, pushed out about 2 feet away from the table So everyone else had room to eat and they act like it was no big deal and that I was comfortable because I didn’t want anyone else to be uncomfortable. We were the only table in the restaurant at 5:20 -7:15 except for a two seater across from us as shown in the picture attached. .Not another single table was sat near us the entire time we were there for an hour and 20 minutes -see photo when we arrived & photo from when we left go to the Magic lounge show across the street. . The manager had no desire to even try to accommodate a situation they created … The decline in the quality of food and experience at Bar Roma and my opinion is the staff and management. They were so good in the beginning, just really set the bar high and it’s below average now. There are better options in Andersonville, I suggest Tala house, Big Jones, Lonesome Rose, Hop Leaf. Bar Roma has gone from being a hit every time to a hit or miss to just a mess.

How have I lived 10 min from here and have never been? Definitely in my top 5 for Italian in the city! Cozy vibes and the tailgate bolognese was perfection. also try the affogato! Very happy. And last min resy too!

Mixed Experience at Bar Roma We came to Bar Roma to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday and were really looking forward to it. The wine selection was great, and the meatballs were truly out of this world—definitely a highlight! Unfortunately, we were incredibly disappointed with our main dishes. The chicken parmesan was just okay—it lacked flavor and felt quite bland. The biggest letdown was the pappardelle with braised oxtail ragu. While the noodles were cooked perfectly, the oxtail was mostly chunks of fat with little to no actual meat in it, and the dish as a whole lacked seasoning. In conclusion, if you're looking for a fun spot with great wine and appetizers, Bar Roma delivers. But if you're hoping for a full-course dining experience with flavorful entrees, it might not be the best choice.

I can’t beleive they have a weekend happy hour! And this place will transport you to Italy. Their wine selection is excellent. Service was great too- loved the patio. @chicagopescetarian

I enjoyed my meal here. The menu is uncomplicated yet diverse. I had the oxtail pasta and an appetizer of fried calamari and shrimp. The meal was tasty and satisfying for what one would want from an Italian cafe at this price point. The patio seating is a wonderful place to sit amongst flowers and greenery on a warm sunny day.

Bar Takito is a fun and creative mexican restaurant with great tacos. The tacos are made with fresh, local ingredients and the flavors are really delicious. They also have a really cool Latin small plates and margaritas menu, adding an extra dimension to the dining experience.
I had a really great experience at Bar Takito. I initially went for HH but missed it, and stayed for dinner. Tacos were fresh, tortilla was extremely soft and seemed freshly pressed, and the chicken was marinated, flavorful, and juicy. I would visit again. I ordered the spicy pineapple marg and it was sweeter than expected but not bad.

I love a spot that offers a reward system to its customers! Not only do they have a wonderful set of Tuesday night specials. Wouldn’t recommend the fish taco but most of their selections are a hit! I can usually find a decent park and it is near public transportation to. I came here on a whim because I had points to use, but my server really made my night. Julia was wonderful! She had expert knowledge of the menu checked on me often, and honestly her child and helpful demeanor made me feel a little less lonely on my solo date! She was very mindful. Very demure honestly.

Service was great, ambiance is chill for brunch. Great value to start a Saturday in west loop. She had the steak and eggs, ordered it medium, came out closer to medium well, but the steak is fairly thin so not too much to avoid that. The flavor from the steak is great, which balances out the under seasoned eggs. At $17, great value for steak and eggs I had the Shakshuka, good flavor. I don’t usually get this dish so can’t compare it to too much. Hearty, but not overly filling. A savory dish to start the day. Margaritas are always the star of the show, but with $22 bottomless, that’s a pretty good option too. Not hard to get a table, so last minute brunch options, this place should be considered
Josh A — Google review
The main issue at Bar Takito is quality when you run a restaurant it is essential to have service and food that meets the communities standards. The server was way too busy to deal with all his tables and we over hear multiple complaints! Both plates of food were cold and very small plates for what was advertised. The menu is extremely overpriced and all over the place. It randomly offers chips and dips, tacos, and underwhelming red meat. How does a brisket that was made fresh turn cold in 10 minutes? The drink was very good however you could go to a rooftop bar for the same price. I hope this helps you not to go here. Do not dine in here unless you want to mess up your mood and waste money! There are better places to do this in the west loop!

Had a great experience at Bar Takito. Pretty cool decor and amazing service. We tried the regular and mushroom queso fundido as well as the Chips and Salsa appetizers, and you really can't go wrong here, everything was absolutely amazing. Our group got a bunch of tacos as well and we loved them all, my favorite was the steak taco with the crispy shoestring onions. Also, if you like a good margarita, theirs is absolutely killer. Will be coming back!

Dropped by for drinks before heading to dinner on a Saturday night. It was kind of dead but the service was still really slow which I didn’t love. They also seated us directly in the way of the setting sun which was a bit annoying. The drinks were good though and it is a nice location, just a bit close to the pink line.
Gurleen K — Google review
The service was understandably slow for a busy Friday night and the food was almost perfect. My tacos were a little dry but nothing some of the chefs homemade salsa couldn’t fix. The outdoor seating was great on a warmer night and the ambience and declarative patio were a delight. The food was timely and well portioned and overall a great night. I recommend the roasted potatoes as a filling side.

This stylish eatery, helmed by the talented Chef Donald Young, invites diners to indulge in an array of delectable small plates and mains that celebrate traditional flavors with a contemporary twist.
Had a great breakfast here! The atmosphere is cozy yet modern - perfect for a relaxing brunch. I ordered the classic breakfast plate which came with sunny-side-up eggs, crispy roasted baby potatoes, sausages, brioche toast, and a side of softened butter. Everything was flavorful and well-prepared. The fresh orange juice was refreshing. Service was smooth.. and the presentation of the food really stood out. I’d definitely come back again - great spot for a slow morning or casual lunch.

This one is such a gorgeous café! Venteux nails the Parisian vibes with its elegant interiors and cozy charm. The coffee is rich and smooth—perfect for a mid-morning pick-me-up—and their pastry selection is impressive . I tried the almond croissant and it was buttery, flaky, and absolutely delicious. Loved this place! The bartender made the night friendly, fast, and knew exactly which oysters to recommend (wish I caught his name… if you’re reading this, you’re the man). I left half man, half oyster, ready to be shucked. I literally had 60 oysters within 24 hours over there. The mass/NE oysters were fresh, briny, and perfectly shucked, paired with cold drinks that hit the spot. Ambience was laid-back chill vibes and zero pretension. If you’re anywhere near here during happy hour, stop in for oysters and a drink. You’ll walk out smiling. Boom.

I loved this place. Excellent atmosphere and delicious menu. I ordered the French Onion soup as an appetizer but it could have been an entire meal! As a main I had the steak frites. As someone who truly appreciates exceptional dining experiences, I have to say Marcel and his team at Venteux exceeded my expectations. The steak tartare was incredibly well-balanced—fresh, flavorful, and the standout for me was the foie gras. I’ve had variations of this delicacy in several major cities, and this was genuinely the best I’ve ever had. Rich, smooth, and perfectly executed. The atmosphere is stylish without trying too hard, and the service was just as impressive. Venteux is a gem—Chicago is lucky to have it. I recommend to make a reservation!

The ambience is pretty amazing here and it’s right in the heart of Michigan Avenue and between Lake and Wacker. I need to be Tuesday’s for one dollar oysters from the East Coast? Enjoy the happy hour menu as well and there is a separated area and a separate café area where you can just sit and read your book or wait for your flight. I love the indoor and outdoor seating and there’s plenty of light and lots of windows. In fact it’s all glass or a major chunk of the restaurant.

I ordered the Venteux breakfast (without sausage) and a mocha. It was too pricey for what I got — I paid $38 including tip, while I can get something similar elsewhere for around $25. The service was average, but the outdoor seating and atmosphere were lovely. Because of the high prices, I probably wouldn’t come back.

Lil' Ba-Ba-Reeba! is a new restaurant in River North offering Spanish tapas and sangria. The menu includes items such as a kale & white cheddar tortilla, brunch patatas bravas, chorizo-wrapped date pintxos, and gazpacho bloody mary.
All around 5 stars!! Every bite was simply delicious. Our server made great recommendations. We had some amazing Spanish red wine to go with our meal. And the ambience was a whole vibe. We didn’t feel rushed and kept ordering until our bellies were full. I do recommend reservations since it’s smaller than the original location. Can’t wait to go back!
Lauren R — Google review
From a Spanish local, A for effort! This place tries hard to replicate Spanish tapas, and most of them are very good! Hats off for the happy hour, $5 sangria is a great deal, especially when they are that good! Chorizo dates are good, and croquetas are good (just don’t add the extra salt on top, no need), and the lamb is highly recommended! Please, get the bread, it is great! On the improvement side, the tortilla is not how it is supposed to be made, as it is too cooked on the outside. Environment is great, and the terrace is a gem! Overall, great place!

This place should be on your dining itinerary. First off, our waitress, Erin, was great. She really understood the menu, made excellent suggestions and was fun. Very good at her job. The Brussels sprouts salad was really tasty with a nice blend of flavors At some restaurants the patatas bravas are overly dry. Not here. They were moist and the tomato aioli paired well Scallops were nicely done. But the highlight was actually the wrapped dates. They were delicious! The flavor combination was perfect. Both white and red sangrias were yummy.

fun brunch place, but it can definitely get pricey because the dishes add up quickly. everything we tried tasted delicious, but my favorites were definitely the patatas bravas & brunch fideuá. we ordered 2-3 dishes per person as recommended by our server, but it honestly feel like it was a lot of food and i got full pretty fast. excited to revisit!

Absolutely the food highlight of my Chicago trip. Loved the chorizo stuff dates, empanada was a unexpected hit and the crystal bread was a great way to reset the plate with each dish. Our waiter Dez was fantastic and had great recommendations.
Benny N — Google review
I was there with my son to celebrate his birthday. We made reservations. It was on a Saturday and it was absolutely packed. No chance of getting in without one. Parking is difficult but you can use the valet parking service from next door, which is super convenient. Anyway, about the food: I lived in Spain and have tried Spanish food in lots of cities around the world. So, I have good context to evaluate. The croquetas are outstanding. World class. The tortilla española is solid: a very good dish. The patatas bravas have a distinct (and yummy) paprika taste and are not that "bravas" (spicy). A bit more sauce on the serving and a bit more kick would put them in the Outstanding category. As they are, they are a very good dish. You will enjoy them a lot. We ordered one of those hot sandwiches... my god so so good. But can't remember the name. They only have like three of those. You want the one with burrata, tomatoes, Spanish ham/salami. The one thing I was super excited to try and my only disappointment was the octopus. Oh and the desserts were delish. Overall, and excellent visit. Oh, my house cocktail (cava based) was super super good. It is so nice to know you can get an authentic taste of Spain in Chicago. Highly recommend.

Vegan restaurant
PLANTA Queen is an upscale Asian-fusion vegan restaurant located in River North, with additional locations in Miami, Toronto, and New York. The restaurant offers a sleek and modern ambiance with a lively atmosphere and upbeat music. The extensive menu features a variety of delicious plant-based dishes that cater to both vegans and non-vegans alike.
This is a can't miss spot for vegans, or anyone who loves good food. I ate here twice and left impressed both times. On my first visit I had the cauliflower wings, Korean chicken sandwich, and a chocolate chip cookie. They were all solid dishes, about a 4/5 experience overall. On my second visit I went all out and had an old fashioned cocktail, eggplant nigiri, volcano roll, creamy udon noodles, and the brownie. This meal was perfection, and the udon noodle dish might be the best thing I've ever had in my life. Service was great both times, they were attentive and friendly. The only possible drawback is the price, as every dish feels a couple bucks more than it should be. That said, if you value a fancy dine-in experience with a wonderful atmosphere and prompt service, I think it's more than worth it for a special occasion.

What a fantastic place! We went three times during our long weekend in Chicago and every time was perfect and special! The food is stunning, absolutely delicious and beautifully presented! The atmosphere was great both during dinner and brunch. The service was amazing, very attentive, and Tre was especially nice and gave us recommendations for what to try and made us feel really welcome! The Spicy Tuna Roll was excellent and my favourite, but really everything we tried was so good. Highly recommended! Please open a branch in London, UK now!!

We love this place. Pure vegan delicacy bliss. Bang bang broccoli and general D’s cauliflower are our most favourite. Dragon roll and crispy rice sushi are spot on. Very elegant ambience. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. There are limited options without mushroom - so we had to order from a limited selection. Hope they add options without mushroom in the menu. Only one thing to improve dear plant queen- please do not be stingy in giving ginger and wasabi with the sushi’s.
Deshna T — Google review
Highly recommended. While my hometown has a few options for vegan sushi, this combination Korean and Japanese menu is substantially broader, with enough variety to give me pause as an individual wanting to try multiple items. The staff were very attentive and knowledgeable about the food. I ended up trying a Sake To Me cocktail, which was pleasantly tart, the Spicy Crab and Crispy Mushroom hand rolls, and the Crispy Rice. The latter was the staff suggestion, and for good reason. The watermelon ahi that is used in multiple menu items is truly excellent. I opted to try one of the desserts and I will say that it was good, but the savory items are clearly the draw; I wouldn’t make an effort to save room for dessert here. The setting is bright and urban, and feels spacious, on ground level with large windows looking straight out onto a high foot traffic intersection. There is a combination of curved, cushy booths and freestanding table-chair setups, along with a small bar. The restrooms are ADA accessible.

Elegant vegan restaurant with a fine dining atmosphere. The menu features many Asian options including sushi and gyozas. The food was very tasty and well presented. The staff felt a bit tired but it did not affect the experience.

Fav dishes here (and we tried a bunch!): Drinks - Lych Please, Herb Your Enthusiasm Foods - Kim ho Bao, Bang Bang Broccoli, Chick'n Fried Mushrooms, Wafu Crunch Salad These all tasted wonderful to all the adults at the table. No leftovers. All shareable. These were the highlights of the visit. Also the beautiful dragons on the walls. Honorable Mention: Udon Noodles Truffle Fried Rice Vegetable Fried Rice French Fries Kiddos and adults liked the taste of the fries and fried rice... so clean everyone kept saying. The Udon Noodles grew on us... but the mushrooms were too big. Not so great: Crispy Gyōza - too salty and soy saucey. Everything is plant based! No dairy guys! They bring out your items as they are ready. Service is pretty good... could be a little more considerate of small humans. Atmosphere is decent, kinda loud, but intimate with low lighting (harder for older family members to see). Overall, the visit and experience was great, and I, we, would definitely visit again.

Jordan is dope! Great service. Wonderful energy. All around great experience. The Japanese steak is just like real meat. It’s crazy. I let Jordan pick my dessert. He chose the Matcha Cheesecake. Perfect way to end my meal.

Fantastic vegan option in the heart of Chicago, mostly Asian dishes, sometimes with a twist. Super tasty and simple, one of those places where they are not trying to reinvent the wheel, but to serve good food. There’s a lot of options, and you definitely should make room for dessert. Good date spot too, restaurant is pretty and big, with sidewalk tables too. Staff is helpful and friendly.

Restaurant
Land & Lake Kitchen is a trendy restaurant and bar with an industrial-chic design, featuring a patio for outdoor dining. It offers a menu of seasonal American cuisine and hosts weekday happy hours. Situated on the ground floor of the LondonHouse Hotel in Chicago, this upscale yet casual eatery serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch. The interior boasts an attractive blend of wood and brick decor with comfortable leather booths.
This place is simply amazing. Land & Lake Kitchen, located within the historic London House building, offers not just a meal but a full experience. From the moment I walked in, I was warmly greeted and instantly felt welcome. The atmosphere is lovely, with a balance of modern charm and historic character that makes it a beautiful setting for any occasion. The service was excellent—attentive without being overbearing—and the staff made the entire experience seamless and enjoyable. The food was absolutely delicious, with flavors that were fresh, well-prepared, and thoughtfully presented. Every dish came out just right, and it was clear that great care went into both the preparation and presentation. Combined with the wonderful staff and inviting ambiance, dining here felt like a treat from start to finish. Truly a top-notch experience that I would gladly return for again and again.

This restaurant is located on the street level/ground floor of the London House Chicago hotel. I stayed at this hotel so I found Land & Lake Kitchen to be a convenient breakfast/brunch option after a workout in the hotel gym. I sat at the bar so I didn't have to wait for a table. I ordered the steak & eggs, which was yummy. The restaurant staff is very friendly. It has a great location near the river walk. Recommend.
Laurie Z — Google review
Land & Lake is conveniently located near the riverwalk, at the base of the London House Hotel, and offers nice views outside. The inside is well lit with natural light, tastefully decorated, and welcoming. There is a bar to sit as as well as tables, and it appeared that there was patio seating out front too. They offered a variety of plates including salads, sandwiches, pasta, salmon, and chicken. Their kids menu has six options to choose from, which we really appreciated. We visited for lunch on a weekday in April. Our waitress was wonderful and service was terrific. She was friendly, kind, and attentive. Our food was delivered quickly and well seasoned. All together, we ordered the mac & cheese, grilled chicken ceasar salad, a steak salad, and a couple of cocktails. Everything was wonderful except for the steak which had a very strong and distinct fish flavor to it. From what I've come to understand, some grass-fed beef can be like this. We've never encountered something like this before, even with grass fed beef, and it was a turn off. Otherwise, we had a good experience. If we were local, we would definitely visit again and just order a different meal.

Had breakfast here. Not impressed. Took a while to be seated. Outside seating would have been nice but the host sat us on high tops while plenty of outside tables seemed open. Food was better than the average diner but nothing impressive. Interior is the average American restaurant. Service was polite, attentive, and apologetic about kitchen giving out our 2 meals ~10 minutes apart. Everything on the table smells like egg yolks. Ugh. I don’t know if I would go back was it not the only restaurant serving breakfast in Londonhouse.
Amir M — Google review
This restaurant is close to the riverwalk, atmosphere is phenomenal and service is at its best. We tried Chicken wings, Caesar Salad, Crispy Cauliflower and some Parmesan fries. I will recommend Orange juice as a must try item. We sat in the lobby, enjoying the view and weather at that moment is a great feeling.

I was looking for a good breakfast place and this place was great. I got their typical American breakfast. Eggs, potatoes, pork sausage, English muffin and orange juice. I was seated right away, and my food came out very fast. Service was great. They have indoor and outdoor seating.

I'm very disappointed that they take people's health so disrespectfully. Two days ago I had breakfast there and when I asked for gluten-free options, they told me “yes, we have whole wheat bread”. I told the server that whole wheat bread isn't gluten-free. He said, "Oh yeah, what you want is multigrain bread." I explained again that he didn't understand me well. Anyway, my husband explained to him that I can't eat gluten, that he should please bring me the bread on a separate plate so it wouldn't contaminate all my food, and that he should please find out what flour it was made with. They brought me my breakfast and the bread was on top of the potatoes. My husband asked the server what the bread was made of, and he said it was made "of nothing," that it was gluten-free. My worried husband insisted the I’m celiac and the bread obviously had some kind of flour in it. He asked the waiter to please find out the ingredients, but he never came back. Instead, the guy who had served us at the first moment came back. When I asked him again, "What ingredient is this bread made of?" He laughingly replied, "Rice." Anyway, I wanted to trust him and ate the bread, but I've had stomach pains ever since. It's a shame they don't properly train the staff and explain how delicate it is for someone with dietary restrictions to eat a food they're not tolerant to or allergic to. The consequences could be fatal. In the end, I don't know what I ate. I can only say that from that day until today, I've had symptoms I only felt six years ago, when I didn't know I was celiac and consumed gluten.

Ascione Bistro offers a blend of traditional and modern Italian cuisine in a laid-back setting with an indoor dining room, full bar, and outdoor patio. The restaurant's al fresco dining area is adorned with charming string lights and leafy trees, creating a delightful ambiance for savoring their handmade pastas and signature olive oil infused with slow-roasted jalapenos. The interior exudes elegance with velvet and leather couches, complemented by walls adorned with wine bottles.
Had lunch here and everything was really nice. Caesar salad was fresh, crunchy, not too heavy. Seafood linguine—seafood tasted fresh, sauce was good, not too salty. Fried calamari had real pieces, not just batter. Crispy and soft, really enjoyed it. Staff were polite and friendly. The place was quiet, maybe still new? But it’s actually a nice spot for a calm lunch.

This is a fairly small place but their lobster ravioli is full of flavor. The cognac sauce is creamy and the lobster filled ravioli was nicely filled and very tasty. Ill need to stop in again as I was kind of in a rush to get to my real destination in The Loop. But kudos for the fast service!!

Nice upscale Italian restaurant. We showed up without a reservation but they squeezed us in if we made it quick. Got the carpaccio and Fiorentina steak. It was absolutely amazing. Best piece of meat I've had in quite a while, perfectly cooked. The sides were awesome too. Friendly Italian waiters made it fun. Definitely worth it.

Wonderful service, but inconsistent food. Four of the five entrees were delicious and appreciated. The chicken was bland and reminiscent of hospital cafeteria food. The chicken seemed to not be seasoned, was topped with gravy that could have come from a supermarket pouch, and was on top of too salty mashed potatoes.

Plan ahead for parking - there is a Trader Joe nearby with sufficient parking & easily walk to the restaurant. Service was excellent, the team works very well together regardless if you sit inside or outside. Food was well prepared & hot when served outside. Expect quite a bit of foot traffic around you if you sit outside. Wine & Cocktail selections were very good.

Best kept secret in Hyde Park! Food is ALWAYS AMAZING!! Service is ALWAYS IMPECCABLE! Atmosphere is ALWAYS COOL and ECLECTIC!
JOLIE S — Google review
We had a splendid waiter, Alessio - terrific. Food was good [lobster ravioli did not get high marks]; most disturbing was when my colleague tasted the opened bottle wine and didn't like it [he said it had a vinegar taste]. Our water was terrific, but some manager - maybe the sommelier - came over and said to my colleague "so, what were you expecting" - incredibly rude. My colleague was a gentleman and did not say "something potable." My first experience trying to get a reservation here was a disaster [they cancelled at the last moment]. I was going to give them a second chance. They had it and struck out. Will stick with Bar David and Virtue. Wish La Petite Folie was still around. Mary would have never treated a customer so rudely. When you are spending close to $600 for a dinner for 4 and have international, distinguished guests, you try to put your best foot forward. Ascione metaphorically put their foot in their mouth. Who needs that kind of arrogance at a restaurant that will never get a Michelin Star.

steak is horrible, noodle is not far from being bad. Ordered a med rare steak and they served me a well done one. They replaced it for me, the second one is finally rare enough but still taste like garbage.

Hutch American Bistro is a rustic-chic restaurant that offers modern American comfort food, featuring a daily brunch menu and an extensive selection of beer and cocktails. With multiple locations in Lakeview, River North, and Andersonville, this bistro has gained popularity for its delicious food and impressive drink menu. Customers have praised the flavorful dishes such as the B-Fast Wrap with Potato Casserole and salsa, as well as the Thanksgiving dinner options.
This was a great spot for a quiet brunch. The food was delicious, severs were nice and bottles of champagne are very affordable. The artwork in this place is memorable as well, and the view of the city streets while dining was also a plus for us.

I’ve passed by Hutch for years and I’m glad I finally decided to give it a try! Despite hit or miss reviews from friends, all three meals at our table were solid, the service was good, and the restaurant was clean and inviting. I ordered a chai latte with oat milk and the B-Fast Wrap which came with a side of Potato Casserole and salsa. The wrap was flavorful, filling, and did not skimp on any of the ingredients. The side of Potato Casserole was good, but could’ve used a little bit more seasoning for my taste. Overall, we had a lovely brunch at Hutch and I would recommend visiting if you’re in the area!

We’re from out of town and had a blast at Hutch in Chicago! Cozy vibes, and the brunch drinks? Absolute game-changers. Tasty menu too and the staff were super friendly. Can’t wait to swing by again when we are back in town for some good eats and great drinks!

Food lived up to expectation. I got the Bistro Sandwich and was pleasantly surprised by the size of it. Significant other got the Lox Bagel Platter and enjoyed it as well. Good atmosphere w/good music. Service was very slow for how quiet it was, and the cappuccino came out at the same time as our food. However, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. In conclusion, there’s a great chance we will be back and I do recommend checking this place out.

Such a great experience! The aesthetics, the drinks, the food, and the service were all top notch. We came on a Sunday so the place was packed for brunch and our food took a while. My friend and I both got the chilaquiles - some of the best I've had in a while!! The manager even gave us one order for free because they had only brought out one order and must have mixed up and given our second one to another table. Still, the food was amazing and I am definitely coming back next time I'm in town!

Always one of my favorites, I have never had a bad experience at Hutch! Our waitress was friendly and attentive. The menu has changed a little since my last visit, but I was very happy with the smoked salmon benedict! Nutella bites are always a nice sweet treat and every flavor of mimosa they offer is yummy, can't really go wrong.

Our first time having hutch was actually picking up a prepared Thanksgiving dinner. The turkey and sides were all great! We did have an issue with one of the trays leaking but what are ya gonna do. My wife and I went last night and dinner was amazing. The lobster nachos appetizer was delicious, my wife had the steak and fries and I went with the veggie burger - both were great. We finished up with apple pie and some coffee. The "hutchtini" and wine were both great additions to the meal. Service was great. No complaints and hope to be back soon!

Lark Restaurant & Bar is a laid-back neighborhood spot offering a variety of food and drinks in a pub setting with a spacious patio and occasional DJs. The establishment provides a cozy atmosphere for hanging out with friends or family any night of the week, featuring classic board games, craft beer, and brunch options on the patio. Additionally, they have installed top-of-the-line air purifiers for health and safety. Guests can enjoy specialty pizzas from their wood-fired oven along with an impressive drink selection.
I enjoy going to Lark for Vivian Du Jour's Extreme Bingo. The food is always consistent and good. Service overall is good. Vivian Du Jour has a sparkling personality and is a delightful bingo host! Her performances are high energy and engaging. In the past, I've ordered the Arancini appetizer. I describe them as fried risotto balls served with marinara sauce. Scrumptious shell texture with velvety center and a nice cheese pull. Their Beyond Burger is stacked tall with all extras, including lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickle. The burger is complemented with a generous serving of fries, but I prefer to have their Tater Tots. They have Nachos, but they also have Totchos, with Tots replacing chips. My favorite item is the Lark Lemon Pizza, made with shredded mozzarella, fresh mozzarella, pine nuts, goat cheese, and fresh basil, served with a grilled lemon. I ordered a Brownie Sundae, which is sized for sharing. I would love if they offered smaller dessert portions. I enjoy their wide array of Duck Mules, which are all garnished with a whimsical rubber duck!

Love this place. It’s our favorite in Chicago. Love the atmosphere and the food is always great! I’ve tried multiple menu items and everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. Fantastic beer choices and mixed drinks. Tonight our family went and it was bingo night. We didn’t play. We sat in the side room by the street side with open air next to the wood fired oven. We feel very welcome in a great neighborhood. We’re a straight couple btw. I shouldn’t have to say that but just incase you’re on the fence about going it’s awesome and fun! Just go.

On a recent business trip to Chicago, a coworker/friend mentioned that she has never been to Boystown. So we decided we will spend the Saturday night bar hopping. We came to Lark Restaurant for food, but ended up staying for the Karaoke night. What a fun and lively night. The ambiance is lively, fun and welcoming. The food is exceptionally delicious. The drinks are impressive and potent. The service is attentive. Amazing and memorable night.

Great food (ultimate fried chicken sandwich A++, elevated comfort food). Cocktails were delicious, my party had 3 different flavored mules and each came with a cute little rubber duck. Staff was welcoming and attentive! We stumbled upon it while walking down the street and heard the crowd having so much fun. So glad we stopped and caught the last hour of drag brunch! Had a wonderful time!

I recently visited Lark Restaurant after a glowing recommendation from one of my coworkers, who couldn’t stop raving about their outstanding pizza. I’m happy to report that it absolutely lived up to the hype! From the moment I arrived, I could tell this place was something special. The patio area was colorful, clean, and inviting, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal. The atmosphere struck a great balance between casual and charming. Our server was friendly, attentive, and had a great sense of humor, which added a lot to the overall experience. It’s always a plus when the staff genuinely seems to enjoy their work. Now to the main event – the food. The pizza was truly one of a kind, with rich flavors and a perfectly crispy crust that could only come from a brick oven. It was fresh, flavorful, and easily some of the best I’ve had in a long time. I also tried one of their burgers, which was equally impressive – juicy, well-seasoned, and clearly made with quality ingredients. Whether you’re a pizza enthusiast or just looking for a great meal in a welcoming setting, Lark Restaurant is definitely worth a visit. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for top-notch comfort food with a creative twist.

This place is fine. Relatively clean, food is decent, and the location is prime if you're hanging out in Boys Town for the day. The menu is basic bar food with a focus on pizza; we were not overwhelmed by choices nor did anything stand out, but it tasted fine. I woulda have given 4 stars but the pop was flat, the food took a while, and the vibe was meh at best for a Sunday evening. The waiter was... well, certainly not fun or notably pleasant. But the 20% tip was the lowest default option during the "rapid checkout" he provided so he got that at least. Nothing was glaringly bad, I just wouldn't say anything about this was above average with the exception of the price tag. $96 for a pizza, a salad, 3 beers and Pepsi. I get that they're getting by in an expensive part of town, but there wasn't anything redeeming enough to bring us in again. That being said, it's not bad if you want a decent bite in Boys Town.

Lark was such an amazing experience. Loved the Halloween decor. The patio was gorgeous and covered. I don't know if I've had a better brunch experience. $29 for bottomless brunch drinks. They let us take our time. We ate and drank for about 2 hours. I had the breakfast sandwich which was delicious and substantial. The cheesy hash browns were the quiet hero of the meal. Must be made with witchcraft. I could've eaten them all day. Sam was an amazing server. Made sure our drinks were full, very personable, witty, fun to talk to. Would absolutely go back next time I'm in Chicago

The food and drinks were great. The closing manager on Sunday night 10/19 was fantastic. We had a large obnoxious group that can be sometimes a lot to deal with it and through it all he offered quick service while juggling so many different tables. Working in hospitality is not easy… people demand so much and there is very little thanks. I just want to extend a very kind and gracious Thanks for dealing with a loud table.

Barcocina West Town is a new addition to the bustling Chicago Avenue, offering ample outdoor seating and two outdoor bars. The food receives mixed reviews, with some praising the Spanish octopus while others find the prices a bit steep for portion sizes. However, the drinks are highly recommended, especially the seasonal options like the pumpkin martini. The spacious patio is perfect for enjoying a meal outdoors and even accommodating furry friends.
Good Vibes. The food is so good, taco Tuesday is highly recommended. Margaritas flight was good for the price, and other drink options. Indoor, outdoor and bar seating are available. Salsa dancing some nights. Street parking, kid-friendly and great music. Make a reservation for expedited seating

Love the vibes here, especially the indoor/outdoor setting. The cocktails were great and beer was cold. Crowd is good. Staff is super friendly. Food was ok and service was a little slow. Reservation wasn’t required. Although we were late for the happy hour, they do have them on weekdays.

Went for their taco Tuesday’s deal which is pretty cool. You get limitless tacos with a huge variety of flavors suitable for all palettes (I got full by taco no 5) and 3 margaritas (you can add a 4th for $5) which become bottomless after 10pm if you still got the stomach for it! The tacos were pretty good and I liked how the waiters walked around bringing different tacos you could pick (I’d liken it to Fogo De Chao’s experience). They even have a button you can turn over when you are full! Marking a star down cause the music is much too loud! You can’t have a decent conversation in there without shouting at the top of lungs. Would be nice to hear each other while having a nice dinner. Around 830pm they started salsa dancing free lessons which looked fun. The place got lit with people having a good time. I can imagine how lively it must get over the weekend. I’d come back!

Stopped by Barcocina in West Town and had Jackie as my server. She was super friendly and kept the vibe right. I went for the bang bang shrimp tacos and they weren’t just bang bang, they were bang BANG call me a believer 🌮💥. The only complaint came from the alcoholics in my group who wished the drinks came out faster and stronger(their words, not mine). Otherwise, 10/10 good food, good laughs, good tacos.

I had a great time on Taco 🌮 Tuesday. I was lucky enough to be seated in the back area, on a chilly night. That area has heaters and gas fireplaces. The main area was too much like a cafeteria for my liking; luckily I wasn't seated there. It was too cold to sit outside. Food was great. Limited beer selection. No free tortilla chips? Like what? First time in a "Mexican" restaurant with no free chips.

TikTok strikes again! Stopped by on a Tuesday night after work. Loved the atmosphere. Festive, not gaudy. Lots of string lights. We didn't have reservations but were able to sit in one of two bar areas. We were able to find seating on the couches in the bar area. This was a welcome relief. This month, they had a deal for Tuesdays - free margarita flight for 2 with a food purchase. My group of five received two flights (four margaritas each flight.) We ordered three taco flights (four tacos each flight), steak tacos (3 per order) and poke tacos (3 per order). We had a option of four different tacos for the flights, any combination. I chose the shredded chicken and shrimp tacos. Loved them both! The chicken was spicy and the shrimp was sweet. The steak tacos seemed to be a favorite amongst my friends too. For dessert, we ordered churro bites. This was served with 3 sauces - caramel, chocolate and strawberry. Very tasty. I would have asked for another order if my personal trainer wasn't in the restaurant at the same time. The only negative I have was the service. There may have been a question as to who was responsible for our area. Apparently, servers didn't cover the area since we were technically in the bar. At the same time, it seemed as if the bartenders weren't responsible for us either. Eventually, a bartender came by but we also had to go to the bar a couple of times to order more and to pay. This won't cause me not to go back because I definitely will. I just know how to maneuver now.

Awesome spot in Fulton Market—perfect for a date night or celebration. The vibe is stylish but welcoming, and service was great throughout. Drinks were solid (Grandma’s Cure is a perfect start—balanced and easy to sip). Oysters were fresh, especially the West Coast picks. You have to get the BBQ carrots—the unexpected star of the night. Smoky, sweet, perfectly charred, and big enough to share. Honestly, they outshined everything else. The beef fat fries are another can’t-miss—crispy, rich, and perfect with the aioli. For mains, the salmon had a nice sweet glaze and was cooked well. The butcher’s block steak had good flavor, though a bit more done than I’d like. Still enjoyable. Dessert sealed the night—the Millionaire Tart is a rich, over-the-top combo of chocolate pie and cheesecake. Fun, elevated, and definitely worth a visit.

Food was 5/5 ! Clean + delicious salads for lunch. Ingredients taste fresh and high quality. The oysters were absolutely delish. Lovely simple mignonette served with it just the way I like it. Only let down was the slow service. But the waiters were all pleasant and nice.

I learned about this place while on my Staycation in Chicago west loop. The was so very fresh and delicious!! All the staff were friendly and accommodating. We were outside on the beautiful patio, but the Bees were too. No problem they moved us inside to dine. We enjoyed our breakfast and pleasant interactions with the hostess, waiter and everyone. We can't wait to visit again.

Publican has become my new go-to happy hour spot! They have some of the best oysters in the city (for a very reasonable price) and their drinks pack a punch. Went twice in the span of a week and the food was consistently delicious. The oysters come from a variety of places and it was fun to hear both times where the current day’s selection was from. We also tried a variety of other food (and dessert) and everything was delicious! Staff is friendly and more than happy to answer questions. Outdoor patio is spacious and it makes for great people watching without being walked over. Am excited to come back in the winter and sit indoors.

I went there with 3 friends. The food was ok. The service was phenomenal! The side dish we thought was absolutely delicious was the potatoes. The dressing was delicious. The salad was basically just lettuce. The eggs were bland and had HUGE chunks of what tasted like canned tomatoes. Everything else was just ok. It was pricey for just being ok. Based on the food alone, I wouldn't go back. Based on the service, I would definitely give it another chance.

The Sunday brunch was meaty. Loved the vide, live street music and BBQ. Is an attraction factor. Not sure what the menu is like Monday - Saturday but you won’t be disappointed for the brunch.

Excellent family style served meals. Really love the farm to table aspect and even the fine details such as the local farm that provided each of the ingredients listed on the menu. Large portions and open environment top off this place as one of my favorite! Note: there is an automatic 3% added hospitality fee added to your check. It states it can be removed if you ask.
Betsy M — Google review
The Publican offers a creative menu centered around seafood and pork, with an emphasis on global brews and communal dining. While the concept is intriguing, my experience here left much to be desired. I visited with a party of eight, and the general sentiment was disappointment, primarily due to the pricing and portion sizes. The Hamachi, for instance, was priced at $20 for just three small slices—a detail not made clear on the menu. The server’s lack of helpfulness in explaining portions only compounded the issue. While we ordered most of the menu’s offerings, the limited selection didn’t provide much excitement. The only standout dish was the beef-fat fries, which were well-executed and memorable. However, this alone wasn’t enough to salvage the experience. Service was another weak point. While the mistakes were minor, the lack of attentiveness was glaring, especially when the bill exceeded $750. For a restaurant with such a high price point, the service should match the cost. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend The Publican. While the concept is appealing, the execution in terms of value, service, and menu variety falls short of expectations.

Tanta Chicago is a stylish Peruvian restaurant known for its inventive Peruvian dishes and pisco sour cocktail. Despite being a seafood-focused spot, it offers an impressive selection of flavorful vegetarian options such as Quinoa A Lo Pobre and shareables like Peruvian Corn Cake and Empanada De Tamalito Verde. The restaurant provides an alternative to typical outdoor seating arrangements with its high-rise setting.
Amazing dinner at Tanta in Chicago. Food is delicious for your eyes and for your mouth. The waiter gave us excellent recommendations on dishes. Everything tasted fresh, exotic, super balanced. The location is modern and elegant. Absolutely to try!

I visited Tanta Cocina Peruana recently and found the flavors really exciting — their ceviche was fresh and vibrant, full of bright citrus notes. The presentation was artistic and modern, which impressed me, though I felt one of the main dishes (the steak) was a bit over-cooked for my taste. Dessert was enjoyable, especially the balance of sweetness, but the portions seemed slightly small

Still going strong since 2013! They keep bringing inventive Peruvian cuisine to us. Their Unita Kaipa and scallops are new dishes worth digging into. Home to the best pisco sour but their Royal Pisco is unbeatable. So vibrant and lively! Perfect date night and service is lovely! Awesome location too. @chicagopescetarian

We ate the chef's tasting menu on the rooftop patio, and I 100% recommend. Each dish displayed fusion, with a Peruvian base and some Japanese sprinkling, and featured traditional flavors that were unique--some unique to Chicago, such as authentic huacatay, and some made unique at Tanta, such as the lychee-inspired ceviche. Our favorites were definitely this ceviche, the ahi over plantain, and the steak and truffle. What's more: I've had multiple tasting menus at other restaurants before and often leave somewhat hungry. That was not the case here! We even packed some leftovers!

Great food ruined by terrible service and system! 1 star out of 5! Came in on fourth of July with my girlfriend. Our first stop of our trip to Chicago. I had a reservation for 5 pm and just in time to enjoy their happy hour menu. The host was friendly and helped us pick a table to sit down. The views were immaculate and the atmosphere was vibrant and modern. Our first problem which was unprecedented was the fact that we couldn’t order off the happy hour menu because it was exclusive to the bar. Then they told us that due to the holiday, they couldn’t honor their happy hour menu at the restaurant at all! After so many contradictions, they finally allowed us to order off the happy hour menu but we had to move our menus/ drinks to the bar. Unpleasant and baffled situation. Mind you, the restaurant had only 5 people dining in (including us) Once we arrived to the bar I explicitly addressed my gratitude and apologies because we Were not trying to be complicated which was unnecessary since i was just looking for the happy hour menu THEY ADVERTISED. To my comment, the barista just shrugged it off and did not acknowledged it. Very unhappy with that. Didn’t think much of it since i thought maybe he hadn’t heard me so i went ahead and ordered drinks On my reservation I specifically requested for them to do something special for my anniversary that day, which was not even acknowledged nor respected. At that point our reservation had already been ruined twice and i hadn’t even taken the first sip of my drink yet. I asked for a recommendation which we ordered: the pisco sour clásico and the ELCHINGON. The drink itself was nothing special but it was well presented. The pisco sour had an overly smell and flavor of egg so we couldn’t finish it. For our food, we ordered the ceviche limeño and the ceviche clásico. The food itself is very good. Full of flavor and depth. The leche de tigre is just the right amount of poignant and citrusy. Had the service been better, we would’ve order more! DISCLAIMER: the entree dishes on the happy hour menu are a-lot smaller than the normal dishes. Not a deal breaker since they are almost half the price but something to keep on mind. The barista was not attentive which was odd considering it was us and another gentleman at the bar. Most of the water refills and conversations were done by the friendly busser. When we had enough of the terrible experience, we requested the bill in which the barista responded with: “that’s it? only two little ceviches?! ” Which felt like a slap on the face considering he was one of the main reasons we were taking our business elsewhere. We left with grace and left an undeserved 20% tip. Would come back if the service, system was better but will stay away and opt for other great Peruvian places in chicago!

The food is lovely and the atmosphere is great. The service is attentive. The only minor negative would be that the tables are very close to eachother especially for people in 2’s. We loved the tres leches cake for dessert and the salmon dish was amazing !

The pisco sours were absolutely delicious, just like I had in Peru. They have a chain of these restaurants in Peru, this is the only one in the US. The ceviche was also excellent, and the staff was incredibly kind and attentive.

We got there at 5:30PM on Monday. It was nice and quiet since they’d just opened for the day. We got a chicha and maracuya juice to start, both were kind of off. The maracuya was weak and I can’t put my finger on what was weird about the chicha but I didn’t finish it. I ordered a maracuya sour and it was nice but it didn’t impress me. We ordered the ceviche which was delicious and fresh. So things were looking up. We then got the lomo saltado and arroz con pato. Both delicious and well done. We were really happy with how it tasted, I guess it was just the drinks we weren’t impressed with. The service was probably the best part of the experience. I wish I’d gotten their names to add to the review. They were checking in on how we were doing often and making sure our water glasses were never empty. Very professional, very friendly, just great all around. The rooftop is gorgeous and the music was great. As a Peruvian, I’d recommend this as a high-end place for Peruvian food.

Maple & Ash is a luxurious white-tablecloth restaurant located in the upscale Gold Coast neighborhood. Led by a two-Michelin-starred chef, this glamorous steakhouse offers an extensive wine list and a plush lounge. The menu features excellent raw bar options and emphasizes steaks and chops, while also offering lovely composed entrees.
I found this restaurant by chance but it turned out to be one of the best experiences I’ve ever had! We came in the group of 3. When we were seated we were greeted with complimentary lemon/orange martini and cheese with black caviar app. Our server Mike W was outstanding and super polite and professional. He truly made our experience very special. We took advantage of summer menu 3 course meal. It was so worth it! Everything was delicious. I really liked atmosphere there as well - tables were lit up with tall candles, and it made atmosphere so special like you are a queen in Middle Ages but with modern twist. Highly recommend this restaurant for dates or special occasions!

WOW….I may have found a new fave steakhouse in Chicago. Starting off with a lychee martini welcome cocktail and some house made onion dip (with caviar) and chips, our experience was fantastic. The space is everything you would expect of a steakhouse, dimly lit with large candelabra that get moved from table to table, with plenty of soft furnishings to absorb the noise. I very much appreciated that we could all hear each other without shouting. The food was coursed out appropriately and was all around delicious! And our server was attentive and informative without being intrusive! Will definitely be coming back to Maple & Ash!

We had an good dining experience at Maple & Ash in Chicago. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was elegant yet energetic — the perfect mix for a special night out. The staff was attentive and made us feel truly taken care of throughout the evening. We started with the Dry-Aged Meatballs, Roasted Bone Marrow, and the Fire-Roasted Seafood Tower — every bite was outstanding. The seafood tower was especially impressive, beautifully presented and full of rich flavor. For our mains, we ordered the Galician Turbot and the 40-Day Dry-Aged T-Bone, paired with Whipped & Buttered Potatoes and Roasted Mushrooms. Everything was cooked to perfection — the steak was incredibly flavorful and tender, and the turbot was delicate with a buttery finish. The sides complemented the dishes perfectly. From start to finish, from the food to the service and atmosphere — was great. Maple & Ash is good place in Chicago for anyone who loves a fine dining experience!

It was was Karen’s birthday, and what a dining experience we had—truly one of the most memorable! The evening kicked off beautifully with complimentary lemon-strawberry and a decadent roasted bone marrows appetizer. Our server Frank was impeccable—attentive, professional, and made the celebration feel even more special. We savored the summer three-course menu, starting with delicate scallops, followed by a juicy rib-eye, and finished with tender, flavorful octopus. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared and absolutely delicious. The ambiance was enchanting—tall candles glowing atop the tables gave the space a magical, castle-like atmosphere, yet with a modern, elegant twist. It felt like being royalty celebrating a birthday in a timeless, fairy-tale-inspired dining room. This restaurant is an absolute gem—perfect for birthdays, date nights, or any occasion worth celebrating. Highly recommended!

Great dining experience! My husband and I travel quite a bit and eat at high end restaurants quite frequently, so we are not easily impressed. We ate at Bavette’s last weekend and Maple & Ash is far superior. My husband had a ribeye and said it was comparable to his favorite steakhouse in Texas. Our waiter, David, was great and very accommodating. Literally the only negative to note is the noise level; other than that, a 5 star dining experience. We will eat here whenever we are in Chicago.

It is my son’s birthday. We felt welcoming when they presented Birthday manual, even it is unreal. Place is nice, but food is pricey. I ordered small seafood tower for $140 and it felt like just for one person, you are getting one type of seafood per tower except clams. Services also took very long, I ordered T-bone steak, at first it was over cooked. I ordered medium rare, and came out well done. So I asked them to cook new one for me, but second one comes out much smaller. Over all, food tastes good, but pricey, and it took too long for waiting. At end they don’t do anything for Birthday boy.

We hosted a large company event at Maple & Ash and it was absolutely amazing. The service was outstanding from start to finish — attentive, professional, and seamless for such a big group. The seafood was extraordinary, fresh, and perfectly prepared, and the side dishes complemented everything beautifully. The atmosphere of the restaurant is elegant and stylish, making the entire experience feel special. Truly a memorable evening in a beautiful setting. Highly recommend Maple & Ash for both private events and an incredible dining experience.

Chicago Q is a sophisticated dining destination that offers upscale Southern BBQ and an extensive selection of bourbons. The restaurant, which opened in 2010, prides itself on serving high-quality meats with house-made rubs in a charming Savannah-style dining space. Chef Art Smith's expertise brings regional favorites from states like Texas, Missouri, and Tennessee to the menu.
Had a blast with two friends to celebrate our Libra birthdays. It was my second visit here but hadn't been in a while and chose it because we wanted a place that had the Yankees/BoSox game but was a bit more upscale. Kevin was our server and he was exceptionally patient and attentive. We came during Happy Hour and had quite a few $5 Old Fashioneds. My friends were tickled that we had chips and sweet pickles on the table instead of bread. I had pulled pork and ribs. Friends also had ribs but with brisket. The meats were great. Mac and Cheese was okay (friend said Kitchen + Kocktais version is a bit better). Mashed potatoes and vinegary coleslaw were also good. Kevin brought us a slice of delicious chocolate cake for our birthdays. All in all a great evening and my friends were mad that I had "been gatekeeping" this place from them.

Stopped by Chicago Q while visiting the city. I’d give it three stars overall. The atmosphere was nice and the service was solid, but the food didn’t quite hit the mark for me. I ordered the ribs and they were just okay; felt like they were missing something. The mashed potatoes weren’t the greatest either, a bit bland and underwhelming. Might give it another try, but wasn’t blown away this time.

We had the smoked dry rub wings with a brisket sandwich and baked beans with brisket, I didn't like the beans, the wings we're good though. The sauce is different from what I've had before. The decor is nice.

Really yummy bbq! Really enjoyed our sandwiches. Brisket, pulled pork, and sausage all in one! And the fried chicken sandwich was delicious as well! Very generous portions. Great sides, the mashed potatoes and cornbread were delicious. We ate out on the deck since the day was beautiful. The house made chips and pickles were some of the best I’ve had. They also have multiple sauces for you to try.

Beautiful restaurant, kind and attentive staff and incredible food. Leave any restrictions at the door - this is the place for comfort food! The pulled pork was perfect and the Mac and cheese was served hot from the oven. The fried tomato’s were good but weren’t my personal style- breaded and deep fried - I’m used to pan fried so if that’s what you’re used to also then you might be a little overwhelmed by the amount of oil. The Bloody Mary bar was very well stocked and well worth it.

I was pretty excited for this since I love BBQ and was sincerely hoping this would be one of those good spots considering it's reviews. Well... let's get to it. Food: Mac and cheese was the best here. Mashed potatoes came in second, fried green tomatoes and wings tied for 3rd, and the Pitt Boss Platter was the worst. The briskets were dry and that should have been one of the stars of the show in my opinion. The pulled chicken was also dry, but that was within expectation. The pulled pork was ok. The sauce assisted just as it did with the pulled chicken. The sausage was the best out of what was put on the plate. Not worth the 50 dollars. I could drive 2 states over and get BBQ that is exceptionally better by all standards. The smoked wings were dry and luckily the sauce was there to bring back some moisture. The ribs were also terrible. My fiancé couldn't stomach the ribs and she almost threw up after a couple bites. Overall, the food was severely disappointing. Service: The waiter we had spoke so quickly and answered our questions with annoyance. He checked in from time to time, but the attitude needed some serious adjustments. Unless this is a Chicago thing? I am from out of town, but it seemed as though the entire staff didn't want our business. It was so bizarre. Some people (not our waiter) who delivered our food seemed friendly enough, but it was almost awkward at times like they didn't know how to talk to us or what good communication was. I did notice that our waiter was much more receptive and friendly with another table. So this definitely rubbed me the wrong way. We're paying customers too. Atmosphere: Fairly comfortable and generally clean.

Summer House Santa Monica offers a West Coast vibe with its beach house-inspired space, featuring light and airy design and beach house decor. The menu focuses on local ingredients, offering California fare, wines, and homemade breads. The restaurant is known for its lively atmosphere and versatile American menu that includes gluten-free, vegan, and dairy-free options.
Summer House Santa Monica is the best restaurant I have ever been to! Summer House provides a very pleasant atmosphere. As soon as I walked in I was welcomed with beautiful decor and I was immediately escorted to my table. The waiter that I had was very kind and helpful. I ordered the strawberry fields zero proof and it was very good. I ordered the Parmesan truffle fries and edamame for my appetizer. For my entree I ordered the rigatoni with red sauce and it was absolutely amazing. It is very fun to have a cookie bar with tons of options. I ordered the birthday cake cookie with ice cream and it was delicious! Overall, Summer House is the best restaurant in Chicago and I would highly recommend coming here.

Great atmosphere, mediocre food Atmosphere: I stepped in for lunch during the week. I was seated immediately in the naturally lit dining area. I was impressed with the decorations. It truly gave "summer house," vibes. Service: My server was pleasant and helpful! The bill is paid online; they have a QR code at your table for payment. That was convenient, but I took that to mean they don't accept cash, which I was planning to pay with initially. Food: My food came out within 10 minutes of putting my order in, which was a huge plus for me. Appetizer: Wagyu Meatballs - 8/10 The meatballs were soft, slightly spicy and well seasoned. They had a minor unpleasant smell to them when they were served, but once I got over that, they were very enjoyable! Entree: Shaved Mushroom Pizza - 4/10 The pizza was wood fired. The highlight was the crispy crust. As pictured, the rosemary leaves were generously spread onto the pizza, and it overtook the flavor, and texture. The rosemary leaves were crispy as well. It felt like I was chewing on tea. The center was quite oily and horribly seasoned (if at all.) I would not recommend this entree. Bottom Line: If you value atmosphere over the taste of the food, you might have a winner here at Summer House Santa Monica.

Honestly, it was okay and underwhelming. Went for an early Saturday dinner only to be disappointed by the service and food. Things started off well, but went down hill beginning with our service. Once our server took our order we never really saw them again. No drink refills, no water refills, and paid more attention to the 5 top and extremely drunk and loud three top. The busboy was more attentive to our needs than our server….. Our apps were good but entrees were severely under seasoned and cold. Beautiful restaurant, okay food and poor service. Overall: C Will Return: No

The French Toast connoisseur visited the family-owned Batter & Berries in Chicago which was highly recommended. I must begin by highlighting the staff were absolutely lovely and very professional. We Ordered: - French Toast Flight (A sample of strawberry, blueberry, lemon & caramel French toasts) The French Toast flight is a great option for those who want to taste a variety of French Toasts. The Caramel French Toast which included walnut was my personal favourite from the selection. In all honesty it was an enjoyable experience and one i’m glad I tried however the French Toast was average in comparison to other locations I have visited internationally. The taste was very basic and far from spectacular.

We were looking for a new breakfast place around our area and the options in this place were exactly what we were looking for. Wait time was about an hour, which seems excessive, but take into account that it was Labor Day and breakfast places that were open were very busy. Nonetheless the hostess was very kind and they were trying to get people in and out as quickly as possible. Our waitress was incredibly nice tool care of us with a smile and honestly the best attitude, considering how busy it was I wouldn't have blamed her if she was not in the best mood, but not the case at all. Food wise I can honestly say it's been one of the best breakfast places we've been to in a good while. The french toast were fluffy, buttery and sweet, not to mention that portions were great. The sweet potato waffle was AMAZING, never had a waffle like that before, and the fried chicken breast it came was was crispy, crunchy and savory. The hat sauce this came with was very fitting to the dish and I enjoyed everything about it. Great place, amazing atmosphere, and the owner is always walking around taking care of tables, the environment, and the employees. Absolutely worth it!

I can not express enough how amazing this place is! Our server, Lazarus, was very knowledgeable with the entire menu. The manager/owner? Came by a few times to make sure everything was perfect. And it was. I got the French toast flight and it was amazing! Every item was fresh! The bacon, eggs and cheesy hash browns were also phenomenal. If I could give more than 5 starts, I would. Highly recommend!!

Food was decent, though a bit over the top with spices. My special of the day — the shrimp omelette — was overpowered by strong flavours and quite salty, which took away from the dish. The French toast, on the other hand, was excellent and definitely the highlight of the meal. Parking is on the street, paid or free depending on the day and time. Service was a bit hit and miss. We had to ask several times for drinks, and at first, no one even asked if we wanted any. I ordered a cappuccino (which is on the menu), but the server forgot it, so I eventually settled for tea. One quirky thing — the server occasionally came by with riddles, which I understand is part of their charm, but sometimes it’s best to read the room, especially when guests are mid-conversation. Some might love it, but personally, I found it a bit distracting.

I liked the food though all I got was the french toast special, they were truly amazing not too sweet, with the right amount of cinnamon. Our server was amazing very nice and polite. Very busy though, wait time was about 20 minutes at around 10am. Food took some time to be served, it took anywhere from 15 minutes to 20 minutes to be served. Very loud inside and the restaurant is small, not mentioning it as a bad thing but as something to take in consideration when visiting. 😋😋😋

Broken English Taco Pub is a small mexican restaurant in Lincoln Park with some great daily food and drink specials. The pup-filled patio is also a big draw.
This place will knock your socks off! The taco sampler is ideal if you have multiple people in your party or if you’re feeling extra hungry. The flavor profile in these tacos, is out of this world!!! They make their own salsa’s in house and the meats you can tell have been carefully prepared and seasoned just right. The tenderness of the chicken and pork and fish were perfection. The atmosphere is energetic, loud, and electric! The neon signs all over the restaurant offer some giggles. The service was fantastic and very helpful. Incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and the ingredients. A must visit if you’re in the neighborhood or in Chicago.

Broken English Taco Pub might just be the definition of organized chaos — neon lights, wild murals, and the kind of energy that makes you want to order “just one more round.” 🌈🔥 We dove in with a passionfruit refresco that lived up to its name — pure liquid sunshine. The hamburguesa arrived stacked, saucy, and unapologetically indulgent. The Guacamole de Piña was a sweet-savory dream that deserved its own slow clap, and the Carne Asada came in sizzling with attitude. Even the Mucho Good Greens Bowl flexed like it had something to prove — crisp, bold, and full of flavor. It’s one of those spots where you leave full, happy, and slightly glittered by the vibe.

Food so good it made its way into my thoughts & feelings journal. Thank you for restoring my faith. Tanya was an amazing server and also so nice! Everything was out quickly. Sangria strong as funk. Meow.

Joselyn made the experience amazing 🌟. She was super friendly, welcoming, and gave the best recommendations for tacos 🌮 and margaritas 🍹. It is rare to find service that feels this genuine, and she really stood out. The tacos were delicious 🤤, the margaritas refreshing ❄️, and the vibe was colorful and fun 🎶🎨. Definitely a go-to spot in Chicago for good food, drinks, and great people ❤️

So my lady and I cane here Saturday night, we had a reservation set for 8:30 and ended up arriving about an hour aooner than expected, so we went in and informed them of such and asked if there was a possibility of seating us sooner, they had an open table and sat us rather quickly. We then sat there for the better part of 10 minutes before any server came into our corner that was obnoxiously loud due to the music speaker being in that corner and all the room conversation. We knew what we wanted at that point and gave the waitress our full order at that point to avoid any further delays. Our food came within 5 minutes it seemed and our drinks did not arrive until our meals were completely devoured. I would have loved to stay and enjoy the place and some more plates, but between the overstimulation of the overbearing noise hindering the clarity of conversation and the lack of service expedience, it was time to hit the road. Food was great, albeit small portions, drinks were also enjoyable, but the other aspects were lacking creating a hesitance to return any time soon.

Great service and nice vibe. Food was not super authentic but also not super far. Just slightly greasier than I‘d assume for typical Mexican food. The bartender/waiter was super friendly. :)

It's loud in there, but otherwise the whole experience is superb. Flavors, service, suspended screens for multiple sports watching. Several varieties of succulent salsas and tacos: cod, fried chicken, brisket, etc. Scrumptious guac. Surprisingly creative salads. Our server Sam was an angel. This IS the place! 😋

Back again on Sunday morning for Brunch and Sonia was just as amazing as she was on Friday. Cheerful and on point with everything. The food was phenomenal!!! I would recommend to anyone who wants incredible food friendly and prompt service needs to come here. *I wanted to add the drinks the bartender made were so great as well. I did not mean to leave her out! 😁

The food was phenomenal. Every dish was flavorful, beautifully presented, and the portions were generous. The ambiance was wonderful, and the music fit the atmosphere perfectly, creating such a lively and inviting vibe. Unfortunately, the service didn’t quite match the quality of everything else. Our server had our entire section and seemed overwhelmed, so everything was a bit backed up. She was kind but delayed with each of us. By the time our drinks arrived, we had already finished dessert, and it took another 10-15 minutes to get our check after asking for it. The lobby was also very crowded, which made it feel like the restaurant might have been slightly overbooked that night. We were there celebrating our anniversary and noticed other tables receiving sparklers for their celebrations, but ours never came. It’s a small thing, but it would have made the evening feel more special. Despite that, I would definitely come back. The food, music, and atmosphere were incredible. I just hope next time the service experience matches the amazing quality of everything else.

This was my first time here celebrating my 15 year anniversary. The service was very friendly and our server Katie was 5☆. The presentation and taste of the food was out of this world. The flavors were some of the best pairings. I highly recommend this place for a date night with that special someone.

We had reservations at 6p but wasn't seated until about 15 minutes later because they had to get our table together. Whats the point in having a reservation if you'll still have to wait? I digress. The restaurant was super cute inside. We were finally seated and Monae was our server for the night. She started off cool but by the end of the night she was rude. I'm not sure if she was overwhelmed but there definitely was a switch. I almost lost it because she kept reaching over our plates. Thats one thing that drives me crazy. She took one of the plate settings away while someone was sitting there. We had to ask for another setting. The food was OVERPRICED and lacked flavor. The vegetarian pasta was $63 and all sides were $21. I ordered a mocktail and it was okay. My brussel sprouts were really good but not $21 good. The icing on the cake was the service dog that came in after us. They served the dog water in a drinking cup. At this point, we were all ready to go. On top of that, the dog was constantly in the middle of the walkway shaking his tail while we were trying to eat. I understand the need for a service dog, but some people are allergic to pet dander and having a dog drink out of a glass is crazy work. They're going to serve someone out of that same glass. Valet was $20 which was cheap. The bathroom needed to be cleaned. There were plenty of areas to take cute photos.

Came for happy hour and left very happy!!! Olivia and Dan took care of us and it was a fun time at the bar! Food is exceptional! Steak frites happy hour is delicious! Small portions but flavorful! Tuna tartar taco and beef tartar were delicious as well!

I try a new good restaurant every week. I would say I love the food here, Tuna Tartar is my favorite, oyster are fresh, I ordered a medium rare steak but I got well done. The disappointed thing that make me not go back because a service. They lack of a hospitality and Service- minded. My water glass is empty for 1 hr. So end up with I Need To asked for a water. And they make a face for me. So Sorry then. If I spend $500 dollars with this services. Maybe No :)

I had lunch at STK Chicago to celebrate my birthday. My friend generously treated me, and the meal cost around $500. While the atmosphere was nice and the food looked good, the steak I ordered medium rare was served closer to medium or well done. The service also felt unfriendly and inattentive, which was disappointing for a special occasion at this price point.

All the dishes I tried were excellent, but the steaks were absolutely delicious. Be sure to save room for dessert - they're also fantastic. The service was top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time. Highly recommend!

Excellent place for breakfast. All of the food was exceptional. The staff was super friendly. The coffee was hot and the water glass stayed filled. I would def go back. Short way and great seating inside. All of our meals were served hot and tasty. First come first serve.

When you first come in you can't help but to smell the deliciousness. We were sat as soon as we walked in. They seem to have different specials each day so what you may see on someone's review may not be available when you go. Our server was pleasant. I had Jorge's black bean cakes with chorizo. The only downside to this dish is they didn't put enough chorizo on the tostada. The cinnamon roll French toast, was just that and delicious. I wasn't a fan of the breakfast bread pudding because it was all custard. The sweet taste was their but I wasn't expecting ALL custard.
Anica F — Google review
Came with a friend and had a great time! We had no reservation and walked in and were promptly seated, however, we did beat the rush and so definitely depends on the time of day and number of people when you come. The food was very good, well-balanced and made us both big boys comfortably full (haha). Our server came over several times to check up on us and refill our waters, and so we never felt thirsty. A great meal that I would recommend for others to come and dine.

I came here with a group of six for Sunday brunch, and we receeded pretty quickly around 9:00AM. After walking through a smaller counter entryway, the main dining room is large, airy, and bright. Her server was prompt and took our drinks very quickly. I got coffee, OJ, and the brunch Comfort Plate. The coffee was strong and good. The OJ seemed freshly squeezed and was a little tepid, I would have liked it colder. The plate had a bunch of stuff and was very tasty, and also more than I could finish. The scrambled eggs were nice and fluffy, kept simple with just some chives added. There were two potato blintzes and those were absolutely delicious. There was also a large square of fried polenta with some stewed tomatoes and cheese on top which was also delicious. Overall everything was great, there was just a lot of it and I couldn't finish it. I would definitely get it again.

I got to M. Henry at 1:30pm and they close at 2. They seated me and within two minutes said I had to place my order because the kitchen is closing. I would have rather been turned away than be seated and rushed. I ordered a chai latte that came out lukewarm at best. I ordered a below mediocre $17 pancake that was cold in the middle and seemed to be sitting out as well as a sandwich with rock hard fries. The cherry on top of my bad experience was when I ordered a slice of pie to go and when I got home found mold on it. It grosses me out even more thinking about how many people were served moldy pie at that restaurant. Additionally, I’m pregnant and if I ate it would be a major health concern. I called back the next morning and shared with them that the pie was moldy and they said they are busy with other customers and call back around 2. If I ran a business I would have not prioritized serving new customers before making this issue right. I did end up getting a $6 refund on the pie but I feel like I should have been compensated a lot more for that terrible experience. It was never about the $6 just about the principal behind it. Will not be coming back.

First of all, I don’t know of many places where you can get a hearty, delicious breakfast that is both vegan and gluten free before 10am! No removing or substituting required for the Veritable Vegan Epiphany dish! Also, the people are fabulous. I was greeted and seated immediately by a super friendly person. The wait staff was very attentive. They were knowledgeable about ingredients and came by frequently to top up my coffee. I also appreciated the division of the dining room into different sections and the windows hanging between some seats which added a little privacy without feeling closed in. I truly could not have had a better experience all around.

We came here based on the reviews & crowd etc. Ordered food and we decided afterwards we are not coming back here again. “Freshly squeezed juice” tasted same as the juice l got from the grocery store. And my poached eggs were served plain in a bowl with water. And potatoes were absolutely terrible tasted like they were old and reheated..Latina omeletta was good and french toast was okay.

Pizza restaurant
Robert's Pizza and Dough Company is a bi-level pizzeria and bar located in Chicago's Streeterville neighborhood, close to the Chicago River and Lake Shore Drive. The restaurant offers thin-crust pies with creative toppings and global flavors. Owned by New York native Robert Garvey, who is a certified pizzaioli, the place is obsessed with perfect crust and delicious pizza. Despite its recent opening, it has gained popularity for its unique approach to pizza-making.
If you're looking for a pizza experience that truly stands out in Chicago, Robert's Pizza is the place to be. We recently visited and tried the Acorn Squash seasonal pizza, and let me tell you, it was a delightful tribute to fall. The flavor was rich and comforting, perfectly capturing the essence of the season. The crust deserves a special mention—it struck the ideal balance between crunchy and chewy, making every bite a pleasure. It's clear that great care goes into their dough, resulting in a texture that’s hard to find elsewhere. What made our visit even more memorable was Robert, the owner, who took the time to swing by our table. He was genuinely engaging, sharing his passion for pizza and recommending the Rita, a pizza named after his mother. His enthusiasm for his craft and the pride he takes in his team was evident, which is a refreshing sight, especially on a busy Saturday. It’s rare to see an owner actively involved in the restaurant floor, assisting his staff and ensuring everything runs smoothly. This kind of leadership speaks volumes about the atmosphere at Robert's Pizza. In summary, if you're in Chicago and want the best pizza experience, look no further than Robert's. The combination of exceptional food and a welcoming environment makes it a standout choice. Can't wait for our next visit to try the Rita! 🍕 Sincerely, Lisa and Greg

Really nice location right up against the little side branch of the Chicago River. Big umbrellas for shade or to protect you from sprinkles like was our situation that day. Good brick oven pizza we got the caramelized onion and fungi pizzas they were good. Our little guy liked it too. Not too kid friendly as some areas would be very easy for a squirmy active kid that won’t sit still to end up in the water. For real. But awesome for adults. Would be good for a date or a business meeting. They have an indoor area too of course.

My experience at this Italian restaurant was really excellent. The prosciutto pizza was prepared with a crispy and light dough, with fresh ingredients that gave it an authentic flavor. The cheeses were top quality, intense and delicious, ideal to accompany each dish. The service was very friendly and attentive, and the warm atmosphere made the visit even more pleasant. Without a doubt, a place that is worth recommending and where I will return with pleasure.”

What a gem!! Love Robert's Pizza. Great Pizza, Great Atmosphere, Great Location. Could not have had a better experience at Robert's...Robert's 100% delivers on there pizza game, there crust is melt in mouth good perfect bite with the right amount of chew some of the best in city! We ordered one cheese pizza, and one mushroom pizza, Perfect amount of cheese and sauce they have outdoor seating right off the river it’s so beautiful definitely will be back! 100% recommend!

Went to Robert’s Pizza and it hit the spot. Service was a little slow but honestly worth the wait. Place was packed, super busy, so yeah… reservations are a must. The ambience was relaxed and lively with the riverside views, plus the staff was cool. We got the Funghi pizza, truffle cream base, wild mushrooms, garlic, ricotta. Not your usual slice, more on the gourmet side, but wow. The crust was crispy and full of flavor. A lot of places mess that part up, but these guys nailed it. Every bite had that earthy mushroom flavor with the creamy ricotta cutting through. Not your everyday pizza, but if you’re into these flavors, it works. Left full and happy. Definitely coming back to try the rest of the menu.

Great place to eat after taking 90 min architectural boat tour. Not surprising this restaurant was voted best pizza in Chicago the last five years. Pizza was delicious 😋 Love location along the river and the windows open outward to make you feel as if you were eating outside.

Great spot for pizza. The funghi was the best pizza with garlic and mushrooms. I also enjoyed the grilled vegetable pizza which we requested with fresh Jalapeños (not canned or jarred Jalapeños but freshly cut jalapenos). Service was a little slow especially on the two orders of fries that we ordered. A little disappointed with the inaccurate final receipt which included 3 orders of fries instead of two. They also add on a 2.5% fee on top of the total amount for employee benefits which is absurd. Overall, the food was pretty good and I would visit again.
Ketan P — Google review
The only reason this place deserves an additional star was because I had an excellent time during my first visit last year. However, today’s visit as of 12:26 PM, I am unfortunately lowering the service value at Robert’s. Receptionist was kind and I have no issues with the waitresses here (just a pattern I’ve encountered) but the waiters did not give us the time of day and this waiter with black earrings kept eyeing our table but did nothing about it. He helped the table next to us when they arrived ten minutes after us. The man also didn’t ask us if we wanted something to drink. Other waiters stole glances to our table but no one else made a move until my partner waved someone over. A waiter then showed up and asked what we wanted to order. My partnered remarked “were you guys lost or something? We’ve been waiting for 20 minutes.” The waiter left for a moment then came back to take our order and he did seem curt afterwards. Sure I get we made a snide remark but there was no acknowledgement for the delays. However, at this point all we could do was smile awkwardly and continue to order our food. To those who mentioned great service, sure. It does depend on perhaps who you get because I had no issues the first time last summer. This experience did dampen the mood of this visit. However, will I say the food did not disappoint? Of course. It was incredibly delicious and it is uncontested. However, I didn’t expect to feel ignored while trying to wave someone over (we literally sat across from where all the waiters congregate). Just an FYI.

We came for but all you can eat fish and chips on a Friday night on 3/14/25. They also have a happy hour menu from 4 to 6 PM Monday through Friday. I am not sure if this all you can deal is just for lent or bc it’s close to St Patrick’s Day in 3 days. The atmosphere is fun and lots of tables and lots of TV flatscreen everywhere to watch sports and drink and eat with. They have three bathrooms. And they have outdoor seating. And they have a window that looks like a garage window, which is really nice. The corned beef dish for About $19.50 was really good. This was the special St Patties Day menu. The food took a very long time to come out for 2 dishes and 1 second round of extra fish and chips platter. We stayed almost 2 hours bc the food came so late. Fun atmosphere and the food was good … just took too long. Parking on the street with meters at $2.50 per hour. Parking was easy to find at night starting around 5pm. Staff was friendly.

I love finding great restaurants in the South Loop, and Weather Mark Tavern is one of my favorites! The nautical-themed atmosphere is so fun, the staff is always welcoming, and the food is consistently delicious. Their brunch is easily one of the best brunch spots near Soldier Field — bottomless mimosas and hearty pub fare make it perfect before a Bears game or a visit to the museums. I’ve also stopped by for happy hour, and the cocktails and specials are fantastic. If you’re looking for a great South Loop Chicago bar & restaurant with amazing service, this is the place to go.

I hate to write this review. Weather mark used to be one of my favorite places to take the ladies on initial dates. I knew the food was great the drinks were good and the service was always standard. I haven’t been here since around 2011/2012. Glad to see it survived the times. I am deeply saddened to write that service, food and drinks have completely tanked. The sweet potato fries were almost burned, the wings were disgustingly undercooked and rubbery, if only they put batter on them to enrich the flavor and texture. My date and I stopped eating the wings and I ordered a grilled chicken byob. I added grilled onion and mushrooms to it and when I tell you that there were barely 3 pieces of grilled onion and 5 mushrooms, I mean it. We sat at the bar, our waitress was an older polish woman with glasses, never got her name but she barely checked on us 3/4 times. We had to ask for water and even the water had a strange taste to it. Our bill came out to 108.59, the service is severely lacking, the food is either undercooked or over cooked and the drinks were pre made or too sweet. After I paid the bill, my date noticed the bar tender talking to the server about the tip that I left and began pointing at us, I was unaware of this until my date said she wanted to leave and I thought it was weird because I wanted to stay for jeopardy which was just about to start. As we are walking out my date told me that the bar tender pointing at us made her feel uncomfortable and she didn’t trust any more food or drinks. Again I wanted to rank this place as high as I used to back in the day but with the treatment we got this day I’ll refrain from returning. It really wasn’t that busy.

Stopped in for an impromptu Sunday brunch and wow, we were blown away! Fun, lively atmosphere for a Sunday brunch. They have tons of breakfast cocktails and a $20 bottomless mimosa deal. We opted for the bloody Mary’s — their habanero Tahin rim was great. Ordered a few things to share. The Breakfast tacos were awesome and flavorful and don’t miss their homemade Quesabirria. Kelsey made my experience here so amazing…the person, the heart, the passion. And Kelsey was so attentive and friendly. What a lovely place to have breakfast lunch or dinner or drinks! A bar that has a huge space for food and drinks, nostalgic decorations, a fun digital dart station, flat screen TVs, 2 separate dining areas and many vintage speakers, phones, pictures of Chicago’s CTA, and much more. It’s a vast space. It’s on the corner of Southport and Irving Park Road in Chicago…a hot area of Lakeview. Parking is free until 5pm if you are not a permit holding resident. I enjoyed my California Frittata which was an omelet with spinach and tomato with chili powder sprinkled wedge fries. It had plenty of melted cheese on top. A great place for food and fun with family and friends. Free WiFi.

I’ve walked past Port & Park a hundred times and decided to give it a try for dinner! Their menu has a wide variety of food and it was hard to choose because everything looked so good. Great place, great food and great service! My wife and I started with a delicious Manhattan and a glass of wine. I ordered the Chicken Milanese which was out of this world. He was very welcoming, personable and provided outstanding service. We're looking forward to our next meal there.

Had the last reservation for Chicago restaurant week and it didn't disappoint. Thoroughly enjoyed the lentil soup, P.E.I mussels, middle eastern burrata, lamb chop, shrimp and grits + dessert. Thank you Port and Park, we'll definitely be back. Service was great, Kelsey was awesome! Thank you.

Paradise Park | Pizza & Patio is a vibrant and inviting destination that perfectly blends classic and innovative pizza offerings with a lively atmosphere. The eclectic decor, featuring whimsical elements like swing sets and flamingo lawn ornaments, creates a unique backdrop for your dining experience. With an expansive patio that's covered in winter, it’s an ideal spot to enjoy bottomless brunch drinks like bloodies and mimosas alongside delicious breakfast pizzas and calzones.
Highly recommended, for sports and huge groups! As expected, a fun bustling place during thebheight of St Patrick's day weekend... reminding me of Spring Break. This place is huge, so many TVs for March madness, lots of young energy, and the 90s/00s music kept the party vibe going. Our group of 14 were in a large booth at the front, awesome for the fresh air but we barely fit. The pizza is good, but we loved the cheese mozzarella sticks. The nachos are also a huge and good share. Would definitely come back with a group. Have fun!!

Amazing place for hanging out with friends , great vibes all over , the food is amazing especially the tavern style pizza , we had also the potatoes skins , the drinks were solid! Overall definitely worth going back. The staff is awesome also makes the experience a whole lot better! Will definitely come back 9/10 overall. Outdoor patio is awesome , I would wait for the roof is closed haha - More pics added from takeout that we had also, just amazing consistency from this restaurant. Chicken and cookie dough were awesome!

Great spot for pizza with friends! We shared a pizza and it was delicious they even offer a gluten-free option for a small extra charge, which is nice to have. The staff was super friendly and accommodating; they brought a high chair right away for my friend’s little one, which made the experience even better. The place is spacious, beautifully decorated, and very lively. There are lots of big TVs, making it a perfect place to catch a game, especially with large groups (though it’s smart to come a bit early since it can fill up quickly). It’s also very dog-friendly, with plenty of pups around on the patio. Overall, a fun, vibrant atmosphere and tasty food! 🍕✨

Paradise Park is an awesome spot with seriously cool vibes — where else can you sit inside an old Winnebago while you eat? The pizza was solid, and I’ve got to give a special shoutout to their vegan cheese — it’s one of the best I’ve had. Definitely recommend going for their tavern-style crust; it’s perfectly crisp and flavorful. On the drinks side, the dirty martini was fantastic — extra briny, so be ready for a salty kick (in the best way). All in all, Paradise Park is a fun, lively place that’s perfect for a great night out. Highly recommend!

As an out of towner who doesn't get out of downtown often, this was a random visit with my teenage daughter while attending a small concert down the street. The atmosphere is great...a mix of modern hangout vibes with sports bar amenities. This would be an appropriate place for a college group to hang while also being a nice place for a family with kids. We had excellent service. Food was very good. Pizza crust is excellent! We came back after the show for dessert because the experience was so good. We were recognized and treated like VIPs, which was really cool. The dessert Cookie Skillet was delicious! Like, travel back to Chicago just to have it again level of good. Overall, this is a really cool place with great food and excellent service. Kudos to the staff!

My boyfriend deliver liquor here,we had been planning to go here since the summer yesterday we finally got around to go. The rooftop was beautiful but closed for weather reasons,we kept it simple and got a pepperoni pizza and buffalo wings which was so amazing and served fast. We also followed up with a few rounds of shots which was also great, please get some don Julio,I didn’t know what to expect being the place Is dog friendly but it was so clean. The staff was amazing I’m a very shy girl I felt so welcomed and at home being here I know this will be one of my main spots now due to me being a pizza lover. I CANT WAIT TO VISIT AGAIN I WISH I COULD REMEMBER EVERYONES NAME BUT ALL OF YOU WERE AWESOME AND I THANK YOU FOR SUCH GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Paradise Park Pizza is a vibrant, socially active, casual dining experience. The vibe is fun and energetic! The pizza & drinks are of excellent quality, and the service is wonderful. Ground level is immersed in colorful lighting, flat-screens, games, and mingling. The rooftop patio is much quieter and more cozy, intimate & relaxed. Parking on the street is metered, hit or miss. I advise downloading the Chicago Parking App to enable adding to the 2-hour meter time as needed without having to go back outside. Expect the meal to be $40-$50 per person (including a couple of drinks). It's worth it! My only pass is the hard Chicago water on the table, so order drinks instead! 😉

Always a fun time here! Their drink options are so fun and they have something for everyone. We started with the chips and salsa which were delicious! Then we split the Hawaiian pizza, the street corn pizza, and the boneless buffalo chicken wings. Everything was delicious but surprisingly the buffalo wings were my favorite part - absolutely recommend!

AceBounce is a lively British import that offers a unique experience, combining gourmet New American cuisine and craft cocktails with the excitement of ping-pong tables. The venue provides an engaging and social environment, where guests can enjoy games like ping pong, beer pong, and shuffleboard while indulging in delicious food and drinks. With dim lighting creating a relaxed atmosphere for socializing, it's the perfect place to unwind with friends.
Came during happy hour with some friends. Service and vibes were great. Staff was very attentive. Drinks were strong and came quickly. Food: The food was mid, but good enough for a cheap happy hour snack. Big hands or micro tacos? The fried ranch was odd, but you should give it a try. Most of the ranch fell out of the stick, but still not bad. Reminded me of a mozzarella stick with cream cheese filling. Vibes: Overall had a great time, will add this spot to the happy hour rotation.

Randomly came across this place and thought it was an interesting concept. We weren't looking to play ping-pong - just food and drinks- so I can't speak to the games side of things. There are A LOT of tables and people were definitely having fun. The food was decent. It looked way better than it actually tasted but it was good bar food. The cocktails and beer list were very good. If you're reading this you're probably looking to play. With food and games, you're probably in for a fun time. For just food, you can find a better option.
Jay V — Google review
Had such a fun time here with my husband! We loved the vibe and the experience overall, and honestly wish there was a place like this back home in Minneapolis. The music was fun and lively, which added a lot to the atmosphere. One thing I wish was advertised more clearly is the option for AI Ping Pong as we definitely would’ve tried it if we had known about it ahead of time since it's unique. It also would’ve been helpful to have boards or signs with pricing and activity options listed, so you know what’s available when you walk in. The main downside was the spacing. Everyone was at ping pong tables right next to each other, and it felt a little cramped, especially since there were plenty of other open tables. We had people from nearby tables constantly hitting balls into our section, sometimes even into others drinks, which got distracting. Spreading groups out more when the space allows would make the experience even better (or have small netting between each table). That said, it was still a really fun outing and something different to do together. We’d definitely go back!
Brittaney M — Google review
Amazing experience overall. A ping pong bar is just a great time to bring friends for an enjoyable time. They also have a couple tables that offer a digital overlay on the table that add to the game, or can keep score for you. Absolutely a must try. The staff were all extremely welcoming and helpful.

Amazing place. I have come during happy hour and for birthday parties. AceBounce is perfect whether you’re with a small group to get a drink and a quick bite, or with a large group to play several games. One of the bartenders, Cris, always makes sure that we are served quickly and accurately. He’s very friendly, resolves all issues quickly, and is one of the reasons that my friend and I have come back multiple times. If you book for a birthday, the AceBounce staff make sure that you feel celebrated and that your group has a great time.

Went in on a Friday night having low expectations, however, our server Daniel put all my anxiety at ease. I was unsure what to expect, but he made us excited about the menu. Our experience was so fun! I got the peaches please drink and please can I have more. It was so delicious. We all split the margarita pizza which was delicious. Excited to come back again with a larger group and try the chicken bacon pizza!

I went here for a work holiday party and had a blast! My work rented out a private room with 2 ping pong tables and a bar and a table for beer pong. 80 Proof - Amazing restaurant and ambiance! I was really impressed with the quality and the taste of the food. It is truly outstanding. 😋 hummus appetizer was super fresh, topped with nicely dressed veggies and fresh grilled pita, highly recommend. 🤤Vegan Nachos were out of this world. The “meat” was delicious and I am definitely going back for this one! 🥒 All of the drinks i tried were great but my favorite two were definitely the Cucumber Collins and Rose the Riveter. This is a great spot for your next event or just a night out with the girls.

Having been on the lookout for a brunch buffet option, was glad to find out they do offer one, and nothing that would break the bank. Having read up beforehand, went in with an idea of what to expect, but have to say was pleasntly surprised. Although I don't have any dietary restrictions, I wasn't sure about the vegetarian/ vegan options they might have. But was reqlly glad to see a pretty good spread for vegans. Almost missed the desserts at the lower level but thankfully was able to get to it. Most dishes tasted great. There might be slight variations based on one's taste, but nothing too extreme. Definitely worth the visit and the money. Will likely take my vegetarian friends here once too.

Good food. Great music. Nice environment. We had a lot of fun here. It is pricey but worth it. They have three levels of food so even the pickiest of eaters, vegans and vegetarians will be able to find something they like. The only bad thing I have to say is that our waitress (Neisha) was not attentive at all. She rarely came to check on us and whenever we wanted to order drinks or needed anything we had to search for her. I’m not sure if she just didn’t try hard because gratuity was already included or maybe she wasn’t having a good day. Other than that I would go here again when I come to Chicago, and hopefully we have a better server.
Kimberly B — Google review
We were a group of 4 and came here for brunch on a Saturday morning. It was completely empty other than perhaps 4 other people, which was surprising. And this was around 12noon .There were plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. There’s an egg station, and there’s also separate stations for vegan food, charcuterie, sliders and appetizers, desserts, crepes and waffles, and seafood. Food was good, could be much better though but 30 USD is a fair price, I think. The vegan egg sandwich tasted weird, wasn’t a big fan and the Buffalo cauliflower wasn’t very crispy or fresh. Liked the tacos, yucca fries and quesadilla a lot. Some of the desserts were good but others kind of just fell flat. The muffins were pretty dry. Service could have been better. The staff weren’t too concerned about service, and since there were hardly any people, they were just busy chatting up among themselves and even water took a long time to come to the table. The staff at the egg station didn’t appear until we were just about to leave. And that’s not the best way to advertise your brunch to people. The ambience would definitely be much better off with a some hustle-bustle and more people. Regardless, it would be good to see this place picking up on the taste and service front. Although we had a decent time here, I am not entirely sure if I’d recommend people to go here yet. Maybe down the line once there’s some improvements in food and service. I am rounding down to 3. I would have ideally given this place a 3.5.

We celebrated a friend birthday at this location. It's definitely BRUNCH SEASON!!! The food, music, drinks, and atmosphere were definitely a vibe!! I love the 3 levels of food. Especially, the little desserts are so cute. Con: They do not have unlimited mimosas, so that's a downer. Overall, everything else was great!!

This is a buffet style. You need to pay $20 or so per person for reservation/deposit fee. We reserved for brunch. There was plenty of food selections. 3 sections for the food area, ground floor, mezzanine, and the top floor. They were strict here for the time you will dine here. Our waiter hurried us to leave After 2 hours you should leave eventhough we still wanted to order drinks so we needed to finished the full wine (4th bottle) bottle that we ordered that day. The bottle of wines we ordered was not included in the buffet package.

This is my favorite brunch spot! They offer a great bottomless mimosa deal. Don’t worry you’ll cup will never be empty. The staff does a great job of refilling it. Everything here is delicious. I have had their chicken and waffles. The chicken is perfectly crispy. The waffles are nice and fluffy. Overall, this place is wonderful! We have visited Zia's several times over the past couple years. Each time it's a different experience. This past Sunday was average. We were seated at the bar because they are reservation only for tables. The bartender was really cool and straight to the point, no BS. The food was below average. The CHILAQUILES are made in a large batch and were just a pile of soggy mush on a plate. I would not recommend this dish. The chicken and waffles were ok. Some of the waffle's were a little soggy and not freshly made. The chicken tenders were ok. Overall my recommendation would be to go for the drinks. The Bloody Mary was on point and the mimosas were fresh. Cheers 🥂

Selecting Zia's Lago Vista was one of the BEST decisions we made in planning our wedding. I think I have heard from almost every person that attended our celebration that they were beyond impressed with the food, the service from the Zia's team, and how stunning the space looked. You can't beat getting this feedback from family who are professional event planners: 'Every time a serving plate was empty a new dish of food appeared instantly, every time my drink was empty I was offered a new one right away, and the staff was unbelievably nice'. Ryan went above and beyond anything we could have imagined to accommodate all of our wishes and truly welcomed us to Zia's as if we were family. I cannot say enough fabulous things about the experience we had on our wedding day, as well as in the months that we spent planning the details. Hats off to Ryan and his team for everything they did for us- truly an unforgettable experience.

We passed by this restaurant many times & were always curious to try it. Decided to go in a Thursday night to celebrate a birthday. Wow. Zia’s completely exceeded our expectations. From the fresh bread, homemade giardiniera to the daily appetizer specials ($7 for any item!), $5 wine pours, traditional, homemade Italian food (family recipe?) all the way to the delicious tiramisu with birthday candle! Our server Darwin was the best & helped make it a great experience. Thank you! BTW - while there weren’t many vegan options on the menu (please add more Zia’s), they were very open to making modifications without hesitation.

Solid brunch. We had crab cakes benedict, chicken and waffles, and chicken sandwich. All were very good. Mimosas were kept full, despite not being the most tasty. However, once you get past the first two, the rest go down very easily. Server was very nice and attentive. Music was very good. A good value for your money. $18 for food. $15 for bottomless. I will be back to try another menu item. Convenient to get to. Huge backyard. We sat in quiet front area, but it was still fun.

Margeaux Brasserie is a 1920s-inspired fine-dining restaurant located at The Waldorf Astoria in New York City. The menu features contemporary French cuisine with classics like salade Nicoise, bouillabaisse, and filet mignon. They serve food late into the night, just like the French do, so swing by for a bite after enjoying an evening out.
Great upscale diner within the Waldorf Astoria, you enter from the street from a dedicated elevator or from within the hotel itself. We ordered a few things to split and it was the perfect amount of food. We loved the French Onion Soup (5/5) but pricey, and split the Cesar salad which was amazing (5/5), then also split a mushroom pizza (5/5), and the Calamari (4/5). They also have a nice selection of wine and a small cocktail menu. Nice hidden gem to check out in river north.

We went for Friday lunch. Menu was kinda of limited options. We got the burger with bacon and caramelized onion and it was really great, made to perfection ,with fries. We got dry martini too and it was good. Our friends ordered different food and liked it. A little overpriced for the portions ,but atmosphere was great, service was just ok,nothing special. Tip is included in the final bill. Recommended for some celebrations, but Chicago has much better restaurants options if you want to experience a great food.

My wife and I were staying at the Waldorf Astoria and had dinner here on a Thursday night. There was plenty of seating available and we asked for a booth. It’s a dimly lit and cozy restaurant. Our booth was in front of the bar. Alex was our server and he was very nice. We ordered one French onion soup to start and said we were going to share it, they brought it to the table in two bowls which was great and we enjoyed it. We also had the Truffle ravioli and the Lamb chops done medium. Both of them were very good but since this restaurant is located in the Waldorf Astoria, we expected it to be outstanding. For reference, the bill for two of us was $172 including tip.

Tasteless breakfast! Eggs had no flavor Cheese was not melted in the omelette and was low quality cheese. An almost $30 omelette should have quality ingredients. Coffee is burnt! Toast is thin and dry By far the worst breakfast we have ever had. Tried it 3 different times and all three times it was bad, which is Shocking given the price point. Save yourself the money and go to one of the small breakfast places nearby.

Brass Tack is tucked inside the Waldorf; I came here with my family for brunch on a Sunday afternoon. If I'm being candid we needed a spot to duck into to escape the rain, and everyone was hungry lol. That said, my visit here was nothing short of stellar, and I shall return once my back account recovers. Upon entry we were seated with no delay by a window (without reservation.) The place is low lit and there were musicians playing so it has a speakeasy vibe which was interesting. My daughter had blueberry pancakes (which were insanely good) and I went with their smash burger (which was pretty good; not the best I've had but filling for sure.) What took the cake for me were the drinks; I tried the Exchange and La Villita and they were worth every penny... Particularly the La Villita (if you're a fan of a little spice.) But here's the thing: the cocktails were ~$25 a piece, so tread lightly. Service was on point, and even tho the bill was more than I wanted to spend...i gladly dropped the coin. Highly recommend!
Justin P — Google review
We had the absolute best service here! The only reason I'm giving it 4 starts is for 2 reasons: 1. The price is a bit much for the basics. But you are getting quit a bit of food so you have to take that into account. 2. Its 2024 and places STILL aren't seasoning their food and I don't get that. They offer a Shakshouka dish, which if you know anything about the dish, it needs to cook a while, marinade and be seasoned properly. It was given neither and it was expensive. Again, the service here was impeccable and the ambiance is lovely! Just wish they would go a bit harder on the seasoning and maybe lower the cost (which i know is not something that's just easily done with inflation etc). But overall, the food is still good and a excellent quality. This is also the same place that does room service in he Waldorf. HIGHLY recommend the turkey club. You will not be disappointed. <3

Good ambience, really enjoyed the setting and decor. Mid century inspired furnishings added well to the dining experience. Fresh flowers at every table was a nice touch. 🌺 All the items come a la carte, so you should order multiple separate items to build your own breakfast platter. The brunch offerings were plenty, including all the usual breakfast favorites like french toast, smoked salmon, sausage, eggs, and ham. Recommend the 🦞 Lobster Benedict toast. Staff were friendly and responsive.

Guests can enjoy bottomless mimosas at a great value while dining outside with exceptional service.
Our waitress was phenomenal (Gale? Gayle?) I wish I asked how she spells it. Nevertheless we sat outside and it was lovely. The bottomless mimosas are GREAT if you're looking for a brunch spot. I'll be back if I'm in Chicago again.

There were many things wrong with my visit here today. Number one, the air wasn’t working in the place so it was quite hot. Secondly, the World Cup game was being broadcast at max volume over the speakers in the restaurant. It was difficult to hear our own conversations. Thirdly, the waitress didn’t properly explain that the Nutella “frites” was actually like a stuffed French toast and not “fries” as you would think. Lastly, my egg white has was extremely greasy and only tasted of the grease from the flattop instead of the actual flavors of the egg or other ingredients. The only reason this place gets two stars is because my fellow guests enjoyed their meals. I wouldn’t go back here though. Was less than impressed.

Sip & Savor, a beloved local coffeehouse in Chicago, is expanding to the Northside with an upcoming opening in Edgewater. Known for its community-based approach and focus on issues like financial literacy and generational wealth, this new location will take over a prominent storefront previously occupied by Starbucks. The company's founder emphasizes the importance of crisp, clean, classy service and consistency. Customers praise the excellent management and attention to detail at other locations, expressing excitement about the expansion to South Loop.
My first visit to Sip & Savor and it didn’t disappoint. Black owned coffee shop with five locations in Chicago. I got a caramel latte sugar free and dairy free (oat milk). The barista was very friendly and recommended this latte to me. They also have quite a few baked goods options. There’s some seating indoors and they seem to also have a private outdoor space. Pricing is fair considering custom milk and flavoring options are inclusive in price. Definitely seems like a spot someone could work from or stop by for a coffee. Thanks so much!

Your Local Chicagoan Cook is back!! Honestly i would give a 4.5 / 5 Chai Latte ((regular = small)) + tip = $8 Here at Roosevelts Sip & Savor, I was waiting on a few friends and found a local new gem. This lovely new coffee shop gives a few new flavors and fond old ones. I, of course, chose one of my favorites a Chai Latte. Nice and frothy with a choice of milk preference, which surprised me a little. Though the service was great and friendly. I'll definitely be stopping by if I'm ever on the Roosevelt stop again. So grab your Donuts at Stan's or Sweet bean. Then head on over to Sip & Savor for your great Coffee that you love! I took off half a star due to not a great food choice. Yet they made up for it with a great drink selection. Though perhaps Chicago can figure out if yalls favorite drinks are up to par here.

I’ve been to all of the locations in Chicago and love every single one and all of the employees have been awesome everywhere I go. My favorite drink is the caramel nut shake and all of the teas as I’ve literally had everyone off them. I will say, I must commend the patience, diligence, & professionalism of one worker I met. Her name was Tashara & there were a lot of people that had online orders along with a family of 8 who decided to dine in. She was working alone this particular morning as the family became a bit unruly and demanding that their food should be next as Tashara was in the middle of making it. She handle it exceptionally well while still being kind and diligent with other customers. I don’t know if I could have handle it but there should probably be at least two people in the mornings because this place is becoming quite popular. ♥️

absolutely have to give a shout-out to Sip N Savor for being an all-around fantastic spot. In a neighborhood where coffee prices seem to be constantly climbing, their $1 espresso shots are an absolute game-changer. Seriously, when other places are charging three or even four times that amount, it's clear Sip N Savor genuinely cares about providing value to its customers. Beyond the incredible price point, what truly sets them apart is their personable customer service. It's refreshing to be greeted with a smile and feel like a valued customer, not just another transaction. And for an added bonus that speaks volumes about their attention to detail: they provide lids for their espresso shots! It might seem like a small thing, but it's a huge convenience that surprisingly few neighboring coffee shops offer. It's the little touches like this, combined with their amazing prices and top-notch service, that make Sip N Savor my new go-to.

My friend and I were visiting from out of town and tried Sip n Savor for the first time. Our barista, Dee, made extremely good drinks and even let us sample a new potential seasonal drink - white chocolate mocha chai with pumpkin. It was DELICIOUS. We hope to see it on the fall menu. Thank you Dee!!

I stopped in with my family for morning coffee and pastries. The barista was friendly and calm and treated us very well. The cafe itself is attractive and looks like a great gathering place, but the location is better suited for commuters to grab something to go. The outdoor patio is closed, but I imagine it as a nice neighborhood gathering spot. Great potential! But stick in service to the commuter.

I live nearby and always wondered why there are so few people here. Now I understand — it’s not really a place to enjoy coffee. The staff is friendly, but unfortunately that doesn’t make up for the quality of the drinks. The coffee is served extremely hot, to the point where it feels unsafe, and the taste leaves much to be desired. It’s a pity that such a nice place doesn’t offer good coffee.

I loved the service and the atmosphere! The egg biscuit had way too many flavors going on. The hash browns tasted good, but they were sitting in a lot of grease! Every time I took a bite, I was afraid I was going to drip oil on my shirt. The total, which included an iced mocha latte, was $41 without the tip. That is a lot to pay for breakfast for one person!

Elvis pancakes were amazing. The patty melt was delicious; the pickles were crunchy and the cheese just dripped off the melt. And the pork entree was also spectacular. Also, the fries were crispy and fresh. Overall, the experience, atmosphere and the server were excellent and I would come back in a heart beat, plus the place is clean and esthetically pleasing to walk by and be at.

For brunch, this is definitely a go to place. We had done our homework before we came to Chicago and had made a reservation but of course I screwed it up and we came late. The staff were very good about trying to accommodate us on a very busy Monday long weekend. When we did get our table the food was all spectacular. Everything was fresh and very tasty. The service was friendly. We were sitting outside so I'm not sure what you can say about the atmosphere other than you're outside. It was a beautiful day to be outside. Everyone in our party got something they wanted, whether it was savory or the ooey gooey sticky bun. Prices seemed a little high but they make sure to pay their staff good living wages so I really appreciate that. This is definitely a nice place to stop for brunch if you're in the area. I suggest making a reservation and then also showing up on time.

Went for the first time over the weekend. My son was visiting from out of state and is in culinary business and he wanted to try this place out. My son really enjoyed his meal; he had the chili crunch chicken and dumplings. We also had the chili crunch cheese fries, crab dip, chili crunch burger and a new pork dish that was on menu. All the food was excellent except the crab dip (we are from Maryland) and well that speaks for itself. We tried the fry pie for dessert and liked the combination of chocolate and salt from the fries! I personally did not care for my cocktail The Goat from Impanema. The service was outstanding and very professional. Atmosphere was a cute modern diner vibe!

I’ve never been so torn about writing a review before. This is probably one of those places where no matter what you order, it’s going to taste amazing. I ordered the French toast and fried chicken—both were excellent. The French toast easily ranks in my top 3 of all time, and the fried chicken was just as good. Here’s where things went downhill: I paid $24.19 after tax for “ONE” slice of French toast and a very small tiny portion of chicken. After leaving a 20% tip (because it’s certainly not the waitress’s fault), I walked out spending nearly $30 for what felt like a tasting portion. The food was fantastic, but the portion size and value just don’t justify the price. Great flavors, disappointing portions. If they don’t fix that, they’ll keep losing customers—especially in Lakeview, where there’s no shortage of options.

We took a day trip all the way from Houston to Chicago just to eat here — and I can honestly say, it was worth every single mile. From the moment we stepped inside, we were welcomed with genuine smiles and warm energy that immediately made us feel at home. Our server, Danny, was absolutely amazing — truly the heart of our visit. He greeted us with such enthusiasm, guided us through the menu with confidence, and had that perfect blend of professionalism and personality. You could tell he genuinely loved what he did. He didn’t just take our order — he crafted an experience. We started with the dish called “This Little Piggy.” Let me tell you, I have not stopped thinking about this dish since the first bite. 🥰 The biscuit was out of this world — buttery, soft, golden, and with just the right texture to soak up that incredible sauce. The sausage had this deep, flavorful richness that paired beautifully with the subtle Szechuan spice. It wasn’t overpowering — it just lingered softly, leaving this delightful tingle that kept you coming back for more. Every element of that plate worked together like a song — bold, comforting, and unforgettable. Then came the Yucatan Pork, and oh my goodness… what a dish. The pork was perfectly cooked — crisp and golden on the outside, melt-in-your-mouth tender on the inside. It had that deep, savory flavor that can only come from time, care, and someone who really understands their craft. The texture contrast was perfect — the crunch of the outer layer giving way to the juicy softness beneath. If I could change just a couple of small things, I’d say a bit more sauce would make it absolutely perfect, and the chips were maybe a little too crispy for my taste. But those are tiny details in an otherwise incredible dish. Everything about this place felt thoughtful — the atmosphere, the flavors, and the people behind the food. There’s something special about a restaurant that makes you feel like family on your first visit, and this place has that magic. So, to Danny and the entire team: thank you for such a wonderful experience. You turned a simple day trip into a memory I’ll never forget. If anyone reading this is thinking about coming here — stop thinking and go. You’ll be so glad you did. Sending lots of love and gratitude, From a very happy gal from Texas

We found out about this place from a food show on TV—the dishes looked super juicy and appetizing, so we had to check it out. It did not disappoint! The place is lively and full of energy, located near the downtown area with a great vibe. The menu isn’t huge, but it’s full of fun, creative options that make you want to try everything. We started with the Espresso Milkshake—absolutely delicious! If you’re a fan of iced coffee, this is a must-try. It has that smooth coffee flavor, with little chocolate crumbles that taste like cake—such a great combo. We also had the Patty Melt with some hash browns and wow. Just looking at it made our mouths water, and the taste was even better. We’ve had patty melts before, but this one was on a whole other level—juicy, flavorful, unforgettable. I personally tried the Chili Crowned Chicken Dumplings—something I was super curious about after seeing it on TV. It comes in a broth that’s packed with veggies and layered flavors. It’s spicy, crunchy, rich… a true explosion of taste! The shredded chicken inside ties everything together perfectly. It’s like a comforting soup with a twist. Overall, I absolutely loved it here. The prices are slightly on the higher side, but totally worth it. You feel like you’re treating yourself, and every bite is worth the splurge. We’ll definitely be back—my husband and I are already planning to try more from the menu. Highly recommend this spot—10 out of 10!

We were excited to try this after reading the reviews, it is the week of July 4th, so I am pretty certain BBQ is mandatory. 😋 Our waiter was great, we arrived early as the restaurant opened so it wasn’t busy yet. He seated us, recommended a beer and explained the menu options. We order the brisket platter with a mix of fatty and lean and the half slab along with a side of mac and cheese. Unfortunately, our excitement was quickly curbed when we found a hair in the brisket platter. Our waiter was apologetic and brought us a new plate, which we appreciated, but once you see a hair in the sides that accompany the meat, it’s kind of a mood killer. The brisket was tender, the ribs weren’t fall off the bone, but I don’t mind a little bite to ribs. The flavor just wasn’t what others described, so that was a miss for us. The BBQ sauce is very ketchup forward, nothing remarkable there either. The Mac and cheese was really good; glad we ordered that. You know those folks who say they are religious but only go to church once a year, and usually just for a big holiday, that is what BBQ is to me. I only get cravings to go for BBQ once a year, and usually around July 4th, so a connoisseur I am not, but this was not what the reviews built it up to be.

I love Bub City DOWN!!! One of my favorite places for bites, drinks, and hanging out in the River North Area! We were staying nearby while in Chicago, so it was one of our first stops of our stay for dinner and some drinks. The Mac N Cheese with pulled pork added to it HITS! Soooo silky smooth, creamy, delicious, and a great contrast in textures between the cheesy mac and the pulled pork. The drinks here are also tasty and strong! We stopped by a few more times during our stay to hang out and grab a drink. It's also very easy to order and service is always prompt. We also returned just before heading to the airport for returning to LA and got their All-American Burger and more of the delectably delicious Mac N Cheese!! Neither disappointed and totally hit the spot! I absolutely recommend this spot to anyone looking in the River North area of Chicago.

Bub City is part of the Lettuce Entertain You group. I found the atmosphere to be nice, but a little over the top. As somebody from the Upper Midwest, the endless country music got a little annoying after a while. I ordered the brisket platter, which comes with a 2 ounce side of coleslaw. The brisket was a small portion. It was also rather fatty, even though I had ordered half fatty and half “lean“. I would recommend ordering just all lean if this is always an issue. The coleslaw was very mayo, heavy, which coming from where I come from was unusual because we usually have more vinegar-based coleslaws. I did really like the cucumber and tomato salad. I’d recommend getting that and the portion size was good but enough for just one person. I did find it interesting that when I paid my bill, there was a default tip amount of 25%. I thought that was rather high and there was no option for under 20%.
Conrad Z — Google review
The air shimmered with smoke and twang. Country tunes tangled with the scent of slow-cooked justice, and the crowd looked ready to testify under oath or at least order another round. I cracked open the case of the brisket grilled cheese. It was guilty on all counts: buttery bread, molten cheese, and brisket so tender it nearly confessed. The fries stood by as loyal sidekicks, crisp and golden, seasoned like they’d seen things. Behind the bar, Old Fashioneds marched out two by two, amber and dangerous. The neon flicker painted the room in crime-scene pink, but no one seemed to mind. In this joint, time moved slower, laughter louder, and diets strictly confidential. Every bite was evidence that comfort food still has the power to disarm even the most stoic caped figure. Detective Tips: • Stake out a corner booth; visibility is high to survey the scene. • The brisket grilled cheese is the city’s best-kept open secret. • Happy hour turns suspects into friends. Choose your whiskey wisely. • Pair sweet tea with saltier dishes; it’s balance disguised as indulgence. BEWARE OF... • Assuming one Old Fashioned is enough; it never is. • Underestimating waffle fries; they vanish quicker than clues at a crime scene. • Calling it “just a bar”; Bub City is a barbecue interrogation with twinkle lights. • Thinking you’ll skip dessert; the pie will find you.

I went specifically for the macaroni and cheese and it did NOT disappoint. Also had the brisket grilled cheese which was very tasty too. Not the most attentive staff, but I was also by myself, so anticipate that may have factored in.

Dove's Luncheonette in Wicker Park pays homage to the classic diners of the past, offering a modern twist on comfort food and beverages. The retro diner features a 41-stool counter where patrons can enjoy Tex-Mex and Southern soul food, including steamy bowls of pozole, cornmeal fried catfish, charred calamari, arugula salad, chicken fried chicken, and a hearty burger.
Classic Luncheonette with great windows for people watching :-) The deviled eggs were a perfect starter—creamy, tangy, and full of flavor. I also tried the Doves Deluxe, which was scrumptious and well balanced. The sausage option was fantastic, cooked to perfection, and paired beautifully with the flavorful potatoes and crispy toast. Everything was fresh, well-seasoned, and served with care. Highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for a hearty and satisfying meal with a fun and popping atmosphere, this is you spot. Great spot for breakfast! Plenty of classic options with a twist. I ordered the breakfast plate with two eggs, toast, potatoes and choice of meat. The bacon was phenomenal and thick, and the potatoes were so crispy and flavorful. The portion size was very generous and I couldn’t finish it all, it was a great bang for your buck. I was able to walk right in and sit at the counter as a solo diner on a busy Sunday morning after the farmers market. Service was very quick, friendly, and attentive.

What a cozy, quaint and enjoyable place to have a meal… It has the vintage diner vibe, and the food leans Mexican cuisine. I had the brisket hash and it’s one of the best meals I’ve ever had. They have housemaid sauces/condiments and I cannot recommend the chili/garlic/sesame oil for your eggs or potatoes enough! Everything is either made in house or from a local bakery/vendor. The mimosas we had were also top-notch – easily the best I’ve ever had. Cortland (hope I’m spelling that right) served us at the bar and was extremely friendly and pleasant. The music is all vinyl, which was another fantastic touch. A lot of older, Tejano and Cumbia music played, but Cortland ended up putting on the flaming lips, which felt just as good. This is a must see/must eat at establishment. It also helped that it was our first full day in Chicago and the sun was shining… The entire Wicker Park area is really sweet to walk around in, but make sure you eat at Dove‘s!

Dove is a small, cool vibe luncheonette diner with indoor and outdoor seating. I found the menu rather limited for a diner, but the selections were solid. I enjoyed a top of the line BLT with amazing thick cut bacon from Publican Quality meats, with a fresh Watermelon Aqua Fresca. The burger was good, but the Al Pastor seasoned fries made it special. I wish I had one of their breakfast offerings, but I'll try the Masa Pancakes with Mole spiced maple syrup next time. If you're ever hanging out in the busy Damen Street area, definitely stop in for a creative breakfast or lunch.

Dove’s is an unassuming “diner” serving killer modern, Mexican-inspired dishes. Put your name on the wait list, enjoy the surrounding area, and come back for an excellent meal. Chicken fried chicken, brisket hash, masa pancakes. Everything was fresh, bursting with flavor, and clearly made with care. Love the informality, eclectic vibe, and super friendly service. Huge portions at very reasonable prices. Dove’s is truly a standout in a neighborhood full of great options.

It should be made clear that I visited this place on a Monday night. It was not busy and low key. The lighting, decor, and ambiance was very cozy and inviting. The shops and their staff seemed disconnected and unexcited, but our food was still very tasty and satiating. The Mexican burrito I ate was huge and delicious! Cool seat near the window also added to the nice ambiance. You pay with a card they provide you at the door, and return it at the end. Overall positive experience.

This place is big and has plenty of restaurants to choose from, unfortunately due to covid it has been on and off. When you get to the place you can order from different places and seat wherever you want. There are plenty of stores around and in the building, warm up in the winter and cool down in the summer while enjoying good food. The service depends on the restaurant you visit. some are better than others.

Concept of food stations in the style of a cafeteria is cool. The hype about this place is much bigger than the bang as the food is just okay. All the staff I encountered were friendly and helpful. Go for the experience but you can find better Latin fare in many neighborhoods across the city. For downtown, particularly this mall, it works.

Came here for brunch. Interesting concept. Food is good but takes a long time to make and having only 2 hour limit really makes you jump around to taste all the items. There is no Bloody Mary bar as advertised ! The only reason I am giving this a star down. They just do normal bloodys here and you have to wait 10 min between drink orders. The food itself is good. Plates are not very big.

Fremont is super Lit! Worth everything! We had a blast here during my bachelorette party! The food was delicious, the ambiance, the music, and the service was really good. Our pretty waitress Olivia was very nice, friendly, and made sure that our champagne glass was not empty. The drinks was yummy! Of course don't forget those mouth watering donuts that was on the wall. We will definitely come back here. This place is one of my go to places now for events and special gathering. The Gen. Manager was super nice! Thank you so much. I appreciate how you guys received us here.

No third time needed because the first was a great experience. I attended this birthday party mid-day Sunday. I was included in a reservation of about 12 people. The price per person was $75 which included unlimited mimosas and food. I did consider this pricey but after my experience it was well worth it. Now the tables are tight, they definitely try to fit a lot of people on their top floor. The bottom floor is a little more spaced out and private. My server (Mimosa madam) Emily did her job amazingly. Not only did she quickly fix the wobbly table but never allowed our glasses to be empty. When I say never, I mean NEVER! The food options were bite sized but you could get as much as you want. Some of my favorite were the nachos (they have the good liquid cheese yall), the yogurt parfaits, the pepperoni pizza, and French toast with fresh fruit. The dessert table had mini bite sized cheesecake and they were a hit. In all the food, service, and awesome dj made my experience well worth it

Worth the price! We made reservations a week in advance through their website. You have to pay $20 per person to reserve which goes towards final payment. $50 per person plus 4% COVID surcharge and 20% tip is included on bill. I liked their organization when it came to coming in the place and going to the buffet to get your food. The waitress was attentive when it came to serving champagne when she saw our glass was getting empty but our dirty plates seemed to be missed and left in our small table for a long time. We will definitely be back! Enjoyed good music, bottomless mimosas and food was good! Try the infused donuts! This place is must when coming to Chicago.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Fremont Chicago for Sunday brunch, and it was a truly delightful experience! As a vegan, I was initially concerned about the buffet offerings, but the chef went above and beyond to create some incredibly delicious vegan-friendly potato tacos that left me craving for more. The fact that the extra order came at no additional cost was a pleasant surprise. The ambiance at Fremont Chicago is undeniably lively and high-energy, creating the perfect setting for a memorable meal. Seated downstairs, I was able to enjoy my food and drinks in a cozy atmosphere. Later, I ventured upstairs and was blown away by the energetic dance floor – an absolute haven for those who enjoy mingling and dancing. The service at Fremont Chicago was exceptional from start to finish. The staff at the door, the servers, and the waitresses all contributed to the warm and welcoming atmosphere. A special shoutout to our server, Nicole, who made our experience feel like a gathering among friends rather than a typical dining affair. Her friendly demeanor added an extra layer of enjoyment to the meal. One thing to note is the dress code. While we followed the guidelines provided on the website, we observed a more lenient approach, maybe it was because it was Sunday... Overall, my visit to Fremont Chicago was an exceptional one. From the vegan creations to indulging in as many mimosas as I could handle, every aspect of the brunch was a hit. If you’re seeking a vibrant and energetic brunch spot with top-notch service, a lively atmosphere, and a chance to dance the day away, Fremont Chicago should definitely be on your list. Cheers to great food, great company, and a fantastic time!

Cafe Robey, located in the vibrant Wicker Park area, is a modern retro diner that serves all-day brunch with an emphasis on seasonal comfort food. The menu features classic dishes like shrimp and grits, avocado toast, duck hash, and an array of pastries. Guests can also enjoy breakfast cocktails such as bellinis and housemade mimosas.
The atmosphere was beautiful, and the service was absolutely amazing. I ordered Eggs in Purgatory and I couldn't be more satisfied. It was flavorful and filling. We ordered French toast too, and it turned out delicious. It was also my gf's birthday, and they treated us with a complimentary cheesecake! Highly recommend and would definitely come back.

Randomly stumbled across this place based on google reviews and it did not disappoint. One of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had. The bottomless coffee was great, high quality. The service was top tier, can’t remember the name of the person who served us but he was great. Hope to come back!

Maybe i just caught them on an off day but they were pretty busy and it took a while for them to get my order. It just seemed super busy and they sat me at a strange part of the restaurant, between a baby and a large family. Also not their fault, but you're not going to find an English breakfast here. I don't know why this place came up for a search for "english breakfast" The food was great though I had the duck hash and it was great, a little spicy but not too bad.

Take yourself back in time to early 1900 and sit in an office building converted into a hotel in 2016. Very retro but current, menu simple but good. Chicken Milanese a guaranteed choice for lunch.

We had a duck hash(skillet), Robey Benedict and side of hash browns. Benedict didn’t come with any side, just keep it in mind. Sausage in Benedict was good but it was too little, duck hash was great, I hope there is more other veggies than potatoes. I usually have very blended diet cuz of reduction of consuming salt. Salt level of food was great personally. I had hot americano and my husband had hot oat milk latte. Both coffees were great, better than any coffee shop out there. I read reviews before visiting and usually no wait for breakfast/brunch but when we visited Saturday around 10am, it was pretty busy, even bar was full. We could sit right away but the table was available only an hour due to reservation. I would recommend making reservations. I would like to visit anytime soon to try other dishes.

Fabulous food in cute diner atmosphere. I got the “oatchata” cold brew which was delicious. Great avocado toast with a bit of spice. And a fun nostalgia playlist for those of us who went to college in the Early Aughts.

I'm very appreciative of the gentleman who was working the Solana outdoor bar from Joliet. He was very patient and accommodating, especially with all the restrictive requests that were made. Again, I appreciate that. There are some people that would have just said no, that's not an option. Instead, he and the other gentleman with the braids consulted with the kitchen staff to see what options, if any, were available for me at that specific time and came back with options. Which, in my opinion, is extremely great customer service. The only thing I would say that was not great was I had too much ice in my Aperol spritz. Other than that, everything was great!! It wasn't too hot on the rooftop, a slight summer breeze. It was a little crowd by the pool, but nothing overwhelming or uncomfortable.

Wonderful Sunday brunch. Was a guest at the hotel (with better staff). It was busy so we sat at the bar. Folks were pleasant (not overly nice). Food came in good time. Coffee was strong. Because we sat at the bar we saw a lot of back kitchen handling of food and movement felt without a flow (organized chaos). Overall would visit just for the food!
