Restaurant
Honey Butter Fried Chicken is a quick-serve restaurant known for its rustic ambiance and patio, offering fried poultry, craft beer, and cocktails. The establishment prides itself on serving sustainably raised, house-butchered chicken that is brined and double-battered before being fried to a golden brown crunch in non-GMO, trans-fat-free canola oil. What sets this place apart is the creamy compound butter made with regional honey that accompanies the chicken.
Great experience here at HBFC. We made this a snack stop on the way from O'Hare to downtown Chicago to kill some time before hotel check-in. No parking lot but we were able to find street parking along Roscoe Street. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. The space is very well-maintained. They have a good variety of main and side food options. We decided to stick with the tenders, fries, mac and cheese and corn muffins. That family-sized combo, along with two soft drinks cost about $63. The food was brought out to us in about 10 minutes...surprisingly quick, although it was fairly empty during our visit (Monday at around 12pm). Everything was really really good...very flavorful. The tenders were great, the fries (maybe double-fried?) were excellent and the corn muffins with the honey butter were amazing. Super satisfying meal...especially after a morning of traveling. There is a small station off to the side with plates, utensils, napkins, carry-out boxes, and water, if needed. All staff we encountered were welcoming, friendly and patient.

We went after CPS summer school. It was nice and empty on a Tuesday afternoon. Plenty of indoor seating --on this hot summer day. The food was delicious. Kale arugula salad was tasty, topped with chicken strips. Loved the tata fries and mashed potatoes. The mac and cheese was fine, nothing too exciting, but tasty. (The color throws me off a little) The service was great. Very attentive, friendly and helpful.

I had such an amazing experience at Honey Butter Fried Chicken! The staff was warm, welcoming, and attentive, making sure everything went smoothly from start to finish. The restaurant itself is clean, well-kept, and has a fun, inviting vibe that makes dining here even better. And the food—absolutely incredible! The fried chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and honestly the best I’ve ever had in my life. A must-visit spot for comfort food lovers!
Aiden G — Google review
I was craving some chicken so we came here. The place was packed and loud but in a good way, everyone seemed happy to be there. The smell of fried chicken hit right when we walked in. The guy at the counter was super helpful, got our order quickly. I got the 2-piece chicken with honey butter, two corn muffins and a side of mashed potatoes, one drumstick and boneless breast. Honestly, great choice. The chicken came out hot, crispy, and golden. First bite... wow. Super juicy, tender all the way through, not dry at all. You could taste and feel that fresh-fried flavor. The honey butter melted over the muffin, I didn’t expect to love that combo so much, but it just worked. The mashed potatoes on the side tied everything together, creamy and smooth. Everything on the plate was just pure comfort food done right. No fancy tricks, just really good chicken. Totally hit the spot.
Moises G — Google review
Have been many times over the years, and HBFC is reliable fried chicken. Great space, super friendly staff, nice drink list as well. Sides are all solid, pimento Mac a standout, and while the fries are perhaps a touch thick, they are great vehicles for the sauces, which all are good. The chicken, whether on a sandwich or in strips itself is well breaded and juicy. Out of all the sandwiches, I think the OG is the best with nice slaw and sauce. Of course, the muffins and honey butter are a must every time. I don’t think anything here is knock-your-socks off outside the honey butter, but the reliability of the tight menu is a reason to come back time and time again 🙂
Amit M — Google review
Overall it was good. Chicken was flavorful with a crunch, Mac and cheese was a nice twang, and the biscuit was a cute addition. Only thing missing was a spicy dipping sauce but that's just me. Spent just over $20 and wouldn't mind doing it again
Pat L — Google review
Great chicken and corn muffins! Crispy and well seasoned. The honey butter sauce and honey buffalo are excellent sauces too, would recommend those at the minimum. The 8 piece with 8 corn muffins was the right amount of food for two hungry guys. I’d come back to try the brunch too, wish we could get a biscuit for dinner.
Sameet S — Google review
This is a quaint little place that I found while walking around the neighborhood. You walk in and order at a counter, but they bring the food to a table if you are dining in. The service was friendly. I ordered the 2 piece meal. Based on the time it took, the chicken seemed to be cooked to order. I was surprised that the chicken was boneless. I was looking forward to the classic gnaw it off the bone experience. The chicken was tasty and moist. The potatoes were tasty, but swimming in gravy. The corn muffins were very small, barely two bites each. Everything pictured cost $21. This isn't a bad place, but I am unable to justify the cost for a meal that left me a little hungry.

Southern restaurant (US)
Big Jones in Andersonville is a bright and minimalist space that serves up coastal Southern cuisine with a large selection of whiskey and bourbon. The restaurant prides itself on bold flavors and minimal processed ingredients, offering old-timey dishes like chicken fried in leaf lard and crawfish etouffee. Their famous buttermilk biscuit egg sandwich with Creole hot sausage and excellent beignets are only available during brunch.
We had a delicious dinner at Big Jones tonight. We had two of the off menu specials -- lump crab cakes and the salmon. Both were fantastic. And for dessert we had the amazing fresh peach and berry cobbler. So good! The icing on the proverbial cake was our server Tabby who was absolutely delightful. We sat out on the back patio. Our only suggestion is that they give that space a little more love. It could be charming. Right now it feels like an afterthought.

Great food and warm service. We went for lunch and it was wonderful. Every dish was flavorful and delicious. The fried okra was crispy with touch of Asian flavor. And the gumbo was packed with spices. Will go back whenever I’m in town again for sure.

Wow! Please come here and be so happy. And Why did i wait so long to come here!! I’m a vegetation, love that I had options of great southern food! The hush puppies and okra were the perfect and could not possibly taste better. The mushroom entree and pork entree had us in wows! And the spice cake and bread pudding to finish off were unbelievable… on top of that the service was exquisite. Our waiter was knowledgeable, helpful and friendly but not too friendly (haha). Satahand ( not sure about spelling) was our waiter, if you get the chance sit in his section. Everyone was welcoming and incredibly kind. It was the most perfect birthday dinner I could ask for. Thank you to all the staff, it takes all of you to be this good! Drinks were incredible!! Bartender knows what he is doing!

My girlfriend found this place for her bday dinner because she loves Southern cooking. The staff truly made us feel like part of their family. If you like flavor… make a reservation right now. Every pound gained was 100% worth it, thanks for such a special night Big Jones!

Had an amazing time! The food is super good especially the fried chicken and the Dutch apple! The service was exceptional from the host to our server everyone is very nice and attentive. Thank you so much Sahand for being so caring and for some great recommendations. The Okratini is a must try if you enjoy dirty martinis, creative twist…loved.
Martina K — Google review
Several people have recommended Big Jones over the years since they do a wonderful job providing gluten free options. We did the Restaurant Week menu and I truly hope the kitchen just had an awful off day. The charred cauliflower was raw (one could barely cut it), the fried chicken was beyond dry but the worst dish was my Moms Shrimp & Grits. I don’t know how I should nicely put this but it was not edible. It was gray slob over undercooked grits that was missing seasonings. Not what either of us had in mind when we think of Shrimp & Grits. We could tell the server was overwhelmed working lunch on their own.
Daniela W — Google review
We haven't been to Big Jones in maybe 10 years. They still got it. 😏 I love the artistic influence, curated tea selections, classic and modern comfort food options and subtle flavor touches (like freshly grated horseradish in the bloody mary), that create a delectable Southern dining experience. Fried chicken is succulent. Hash browns are perfectly crisp. Seasonal scone is packed with the perfect amount of spices and fruit. My kid raved about the bacon and my partner devoured the biscuit sammy. Thanks for a great brunch!
Amy M — Google review
We stopped over the weekend and to be honest the fact that the front person had to look back and made a face of discomfort was weird. So we asked if we can just go ahead and sit at the bar--normally we do that, a lot easier and faster-- anyway she looked at us, looked at the bar look at us and said I have to ask. Ok then lady go and ask, it was weird. So she asked she took her sweet time and came back again with a face of discomfort and said ok you can sit at the bar. We wanted to eat here for a long time and this was a day that it was not a line. We sat the bartender was nice and we order an omelet with spinach to share and it was tasty and well done. We had grits and those did not please the need to have grits. They were lumpy no cheese no butter. But the coffee was amazing. I saw that a lot of people ordered beignets [I do not like powder sugar dust on anything] but seems to be something that a lot of people will order. It was not packed with plenty tables available still they will make people wait. This is a place that I be happy to order out but not sit there again.

Chicken wings restaurant
Asian restaurant
Korean restaurant
Crisp is a counter-service eatery that offers Korean fried chicken, burritos, and veggie bowls with the option for delivery. The key to their Korean fried chicken lies in frying it twice - first in a pressure fryer and then a second time to-order. Their menu includes options like the Plain Jane, BBQ engulfed in Korean gogjujang paste, and Seoul Sassy coated in a sweet/tangy sauce.
Went here with friends. Small seating area and was pretty busy around 2pm on a Saturday. Great menu, they have displays for their bowls. I got the Crispy Chicken Bowl Special with the Korean sauce. 10/10, friends got the jumbo wings and they enjoyed thoroughly.
Tushar A — Google review
Ordered the half chicken fried. The chicken tasted good, coating with seasonings had a nice crunch. Took one star off because the chicken is too dry. Must be eaten with the different sauces to off set the dryness of the meat. Service was quick and friendly. I recommend this business
Ted E — Google review
This place is a vibe. The customer service was nice and the music was dope. Despite the Crisp BBQ sauce being to spicy for me, the chicken was really good! I had the Crispy Chicken Bowl with Crisp BBQ sauce and 5 wings covered in Crisp BBQ sauce. Next time I go (which will be soon) I'm going to get the Seoul Sauce because it was soooo yummy! The Atomic sauce was good as well. It reminded me of their version of a yum yum sauce.
TATUM A — Google review
Crisp is my favorite place for fried chicken in Chicago! As the name suggests, their fry is just right! I've tried many establishments throughout the city for that crunch, that crisp, and juicy chicken. I've tried both their wings and jumbo drumsticks. DEFINITELY GET THE DRUMSTICKS. Crisp definitely delivers. I will always pay a visit when in the area. Pro tip, order the original with sauce on the side. You can even go without sauce in your order, as the communal tables already provides free gochujjang and ketchup.
Eda — Google review
Korean fried chicken gem!! So delicious, So flavorful, crunchy, moist. The wings are freaking huge! The sauces on the table added extra to the chicken. I ordered the 5 peace whole chicken wings half Seoul sassy and half crispy bbq perfect serving amount for one person. Super Cheap for what your getting in return. Only negative is The place is small and has really bad AC and large tables that you can share with others. The staff was great 100% recommend!!
Hagz — Google review
This spot is well known for its flavorful Korean-style chicken. The wings are crispy, saucy, and come in portions big enough to share. The menu also has tasty rice bowls and sides that round out the meal. The vibe is casual and relaxed, making it an easy go-to when you’re craving chicken with bold flavors.
Иван Ф — Google review
I ordered the Chicken strips with the Sassy sauce. The chicken strips were definitely not fresh. They had the texture of chicken strips from a frozen bag at Costco. To their credit, the menu does not claim the chicken strips are fresh. I went back and looked and it said their wings, drumsticks, and whole chicken are fresh never frozen. The menu does not claim the same for the chicken tenders. I only ordered the tenders because I have tried the other fried chicken before. They tend to overcook the whole chicken and drumsticks. This time I tried the tenders. No good. I also had the Bad boy buddha. It was fine. The fries were nice and fresh. Overall, I will not come back for the chicken.
Jay — Google review
Crisp is amazing. I appreciate the staffs and managers kindness to me even though I have autism and their food is amazing and really good. Owner Jae and GM Calvin and manager Eric and Jonny is very nice. The restaurant is in good condition. Amazing Korean wings. Must come back. 10/10.

Parson's Chicken & Fish is a laid-back spot known for its delicious fried chicken and fish, as well as its cool vibe with hip tunes. The iconic red- and white-striped umbrellas have become a symbol of the restaurant, which has expanded to multiple locations across the city.
My girlfriend and I stopped by Parsons on a sunny Saturday afternoon looking for a quick bite, and we were drawn in by the solid reviews. We each ordered the Nashville hot two-piece chicken, which came with incredibly juicy and crispy pickles. We also shared the cod and shrimp combo—both were perfectly crispy and packed with flavor. I especially enjoyed the cod; the light batter let the flavor of the fish really shine through. While the chicken was a bit spicier than I prefer, the portion size was generous and satisfying. Overall, a great spot for tasty, well-prepared comfort food.
Yosef M — Google review
I hadn’t been to Parsons in years, and this was my first time at the Logan location. Honestly was really impressed! If you want some good fried food and a fun atmosphere, this is the spot. Usually not a slaw guy on a chicken sandwich but theirs hit the spot and wasn’t overbearing. It’s a great spot for a larger crowd too, and there’s something for everyone on the menu. Definitely good to check out!
Pete W — Google review
First time here. Chicken and fish were liked by everyone who ordered them, and I enjoyed the veggie sandwich. I'm not a vegetarian anymore but it sounded delicious - and it was. Our group had a selection of items from the menu and mostly enjoyed everything. A couple of people weren't crazy about the coleslaw (had an unexpected flavor they didn't liked) but others thought it was good. Good calamari. Fries were typical. The peach pastry dessert was disappointing. Didn't love the pickle soda but it was memorable! Overall we enjoyed our meal.
G D — Google review
I was pretty disappointed with the food here. I had the Parson's fried chicken sandwich ($12), fish sandwich ($14), and shrimp basket ($14) that comes with 8 fried gulf shrimps, cocktail sauce, lemon, and French fried. The sandwiches were a bit salty and one-dimensional. The shrimps were the butterfly shrimp that you can get at the grocery store. The fries had a good texture though. The service was alright. It gets pretty busy but it took a long while until we got to order. I won't be coming back unfortunately.
Kelly W — Google review
I stopped by Parson's Chicken & Fish after hearing a few friends talk about it, and I finally get the hype. I ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. The chicken thigh was fried perfectly super juicy and tender inside, with this nice crisp on the outside. It was tossed in their Nashville hot sauce, which had just the right amount of heat for me. Spicy, but not the kind of spicy that ruins your taste buds. The coleslaw added this crunchy, cool contrast, and the American cheese melted just right. I don't usually order cheese on a spicy chicken sandwich, but this one worked. The pickles were super tangy, which I loved, and the garlic mayo and Parson's red hot sauce added even more layers of flavor. All of it came together on a soft brioche bun that held up without getting soggy. The vibe at Parson's was super chill, kind of retro picnic-style with a mix of families, couples, and dogs. Service was friendly, but not overly attentive, which was fine by me. I waited about 20 minutes for my food, which felt reasonable since it was a bit busy.

The chicken is excellent, the drinks are very good. Across multiple visits, the service has always been friendly but variable in attentiveness levels from the staff. Dinner and later service has been typically better than lunch service.

Mini Hut, located in Garfield Ridge, is a neighborhood favorite known for its delicious fried chicken. The restaurant's simple ambiance is complemented by the mouthwatering chicken, which is fried to order and arrives with a satisfyingly crunchy coating. The secret to its deliciousness lies in the fresh delivery of chicken every other day, marination overnight, and frying it in butter-flavored seasoned flour. Customers rave about the perfectly crunchy and seasoned skin as well as the consistently cooked juicy meat inside.
Honestly the best fried chicken I've ever had in my life. The skin is perfectly crunchy and seasoned. And the inside of the chicken is cooked perfectly. Its not slimy, or too tough like many places. Even the bigger pieces are cooked perfectly and have a consistent texture throughout. Their 4 piece meal is enough for 2 average adults. You will find nothing better for the price.

This place knows how to make some seriously delicious chicken!! Must try!
Urivega35 — Google review
I placed an order for Christmas Eve December 24th online. Which allowed me too and when I went to go pick up the chicken they were closed with chains and padlocks on their doors. Today is January 2nd. I still have not been able to get through every time I call all I go into voicemail. This chicken was part of my Christmas Eve dinner which was very disappointing. I was referred by my daughter who loves their chicken. I took a chance and ordered. It’s very disappointing that they cannot manage the website correctly in allowing me to place an order. I was charged and money was taken from my bank😩

Not easy to find at first. Off Archer south on Normandy. The 4 piece chicken dinner was very good. Not too greasy and the coating was tasty. I even thought the coleslaw was much better than other places.
Michael T — Google review
I had their chicken once before and it was delicious. This time I ordered the perch dinner and the perch was great! The only reason I am giving them 4 stars is because they did not include the cole slaw that was suppose to come with the dinner.
Nicole M — Google review
Mini huts chicken is so crispy and juicy. It’s always amazing every single time. The trick is to smother it in the hot sauce. I highly recommend this to anyone in the area. Especially if your near midway airport def worth the trip!!!!

Absolutely the best chicken hands down and I try the fried chicken everywhere we travel. We lived in the area for years and Mini Hut has been the absolute go to for crispy and juicy fried chicken. This hidden gem has been sorely missed since we had to relocate but to quote Mcarthur, I shall return!

Chicago's Home of Chicken & Waffles, located in the vibrant Bronzeville neighborhood, offers a soulful dining experience with its generous portions of Southern specialties. While the restaurant is famous for its perfectly seasoned fried chicken and warm waffles drizzled with maple syrup, it also serves up an array of down-home sides like catfish, candied yams, and mac and cheese.
Good staff and good food and the feeling of home made! In the heart of the south side of Chicago. Liked it. The chicken was good too. Done just right. The yams were so authentic. Street parking is free. Bathrooms nice. Just not hands free.

Family of 6, No one at the host desk to greet! Seated quickly but greeted with tap water no ice. A lot of staff. Standing around by cashier register, we seat by the cash register that sits above us no issue however , when it came to order waiter wanted to take my order from the register. Which above us? Food great atmosphere ok over all 8 out of 10! Service needs to be a little better!

A MUST HAVE 😋😋😋😋 EVERYTHING was perfectly cooked and fresh HOT food. SIDENOTE: Our server was horrible. She kept disappearing, had no hospitality, and didn't give us a refill on our water. She didn't offer and we couldn't find her to ask but some very nice gentleman was able to get it for us and he also made it ice cold water to go 😁😁

I usually go to the oak park location but was in the area that morning and hungry so I stopped by. Let me just say the service was ok, it wasn’t much southern hospitality in there I can tell you that much. Waitress seemed like she couldn’t care less about serving us. And the food was horrible which was shocking because I've been eating here since i was a little girl. The potatoes tasted frozen and warmed up , the texture was mushy and clumpy. The chicken lacked flavor just tastes of pure salt and the waffles weren’t fresh either ….. like they were on the harder side and cold. Last but not least those shrimp and grits were just awful I mean we left that food there just like this.

Found this amazing restaurant, and I have never felt really happy and impressed about the food, service, and atmosphere. Music was on point. The vibe was exquisite! It’s very welcoming. Truly an experience whether you are going for Brunch or Dinner. It’s the place to be. Found our new favorite!

I recently came in and was helped by Shaun W. He was amazing. The food was amazing but you all prices have gone up extra extremely high for it to be Chicago chicken and waffles. 850 for a tiny peach cobbler is ridiculous. I literally had three bites in that thing.. Other than that great experience, food was always good as usual. I just hope you all are able to do better with your portion sizes if you’re gonna charge that much.

Fry the Coop in West Town, Chicago is a popular spot known for its signature Nashville hot chicken sandwiches. The restaurant's specialty involves dipping their birds in beef fat and seasoning them with a blend of spices like paprika, cayenne, garlic, onion, and brown sugar. These flavorful chicken sandwiches are served on soft brioche buns with coleslaw, pickles, and special sauce. The trendy ambiance features leather chairs, classic wooden bars, and spacious booths.
I love their Nashville hot chicken sandwich, the honey butter fried chicken sandwich, and the loaded messy fries! You can pick any spice level for any of their chicken dishes, which is a nice customization option. It ranges from mild to very hot. Their chicken is perfectly seasoned and crispy on the outside, but still juicy and flavorful on the inside. I prefer the Nashville hot chicken sandwich because I felt the pickles and coleslaw were necessary to balance the flavor. However, I still really enjoyed the sweet and salty flavor of the honey butter fried chicken sandwich - it was just a bit more rich and heavy. The loaded fries are also delicious and very generously seasoned and portioned!

Fry the coop was on my list to try their Nashville hot chicken sandwich. This place from the outside looks more like a bar but it is both. Service is excellent and very friendly. I did get the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and if you follow my reviews you know I hold everything to Hattie B’s. This was in the running. Nice flavor, good crunch on the sandwich. 7.3/10 would recommend. Hattie B’s still holds my foodie heart. Great place to come and relax away from the heart of Chicago and enjoy a pint and great food!

I Always Gotta Find a Good Local Joint When I'm Out of Town. 😉 So I Discovered Fly the Coop on 95th St in Oak Lawn, IL The Staff Was Very Nice and Helpful in Helping Me Narrow Down My Order. They Even Gave Me Sample of the Seasoning to Help Me Decide. I Ended Up Getting the OG Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwhich and a Side of Cole Slaw. Well The Sandwhich was Delicious, However I Wasn't a Fan of the Cole Slaw. ☹️ They Asked Me How Everything Was and I Shared. They Immediately Asked What Could They Give Me Instead??? 🥰🥰 We Settled on the Mac & Cheese and I'm a Mac & Cheese Snob So I Was Hesitant!!! 🤣😂🤣 It Was Actually Very Very Good!! 😋😋😋 But I Was Soo Full from My Sandwhich I Had to Bring Most of it Home. So If You Are in the Area Check It Out!! 🙂👍

The food was delicious! My husband loves the chicken and waffles and I enjoyed the nuggets and Mac-n-cheese. The atmosphere is super fun and the bartender that assisted us was wonderful. I also enjoyed a "Jungle Bird" cocktail-- it's very sweet and delicious!

Got the chicken tender flight with 6 tenders each at a different level of heat and all of the sauces. The tenders were very good, high quality. The flavors we lacking. Was not wowed by any of the level and disappointed in the spicy levels. I was expecting more.

Cute spot. The weather was nice so they had the front garage door open. The slight breeze was everything. They weren’t busy at all so we were in and out within 45 minutes. I had the chicken sandwich on a donut. I love the combination of sweet and savory. I got the medium level and it wasn’t spicy at all. My husband had the chicken sandwich on a brioche bun and he was very pleased. We had cheese fries on the side and those were also very tasty. To drink I had The Paloma and it was too strong (I don’t drink much). Service was good and our waitress came by a few times to make sure we didn’t need anything.

This is one of my all time favorite restaurants. The food is incredible and consistent, but so is their staff. They are always the kindest, most easy-going folks. I have never once had a bad experience. My go-to is the chix n cheese sandwich, but their smack wrap has been a fun menu addition to add to the rotation. Also the smack wrap is incredibly filling and cheap. Make sure to give it a try while they have it! The emails from Joe are always fun. The rewards program is nice and they have some of the best drink prices in town. You really can’t beat it! They really care about their customers and I will always come back.
Kaylee D — Google review
My go-to spot after a long shift, I love that they’re open late!!! While their fried chicken is good, I keep coming back for those beef tallow fried fries. The messy fries are really yummy!! Service is always quick and friendly 💖 The only thing is I would looooove if they had an option to choose savory pickles over sweet ones. But that’s just my personal preference and I get that sweet pickles match the Midwestern/tavern-style flavors they’re going for. I love you, Fry the Coop!! Never change!!! 🥒 ❤️ 🐔

Big Boss Spicy Fried Chicken is a vibrant eatery known for its graffiti-adorned walls and mouthwatering fried dishes. The star of the show is the Big Boss Sandwich, featuring a generously sized boneless fried chicken coated in a choice of spicy sauces, nestled between a buttery bun with coleslaw and jalapenos. Inspired by Nashville hot chicken and Belizean fried chicken, this joint delivers exceptional spiciness and crunch.
I'm back again🤘..was needing some amazing food. Dropped by to have the big boss chicken burger...must say the consistency of the food quality is top notch..my burger was proper and crunchy...and they have a 2 for 16$ deal which in this day an age in Chi-town is hard to come by. Id recommend this place to anyone
John C — Google review
I was weary of trying this place but I pulled myself to try it, and I was not disappointed. I loved that they answered my questions and gave recommendations. My big boss sandwich was so good, the smallest amount of heat will give you a tingly lip, but you’ll be fine if you are used to spicy food. The fries were not that great, just plain, as expected, but they were too soft. The steak and fried rice combo was a little misleading according to the pictures they have on the menu where you see a big cut of a steak 🥩 compared to what you actually get. Additionally, I didn’t like the rice, but I enjoyed the vegetables.
Nyla C — Google review
Extremely disappointed. I used to eat at big boss all the time. The food was as ways fresh and delicious. This is NOT big boss. Not only is the chicken completely different, after paying $11 for 3 chicken wings they tasted completely different, reheated and they were literally cold to the touch after a 7 minute ride home. The potstickers tasted like freezer and didn’t have the dipping sauce to cover it up. The shrimp hibachi was the only saving grace of the whole meal. We spent over $50 and I would’ve rather had McDonald. Price is too high for the quality they provide. We won’t be back.

I used to come to big boss all the time. They had the best chicken sandwiches. I went today after not going for a while. Very disappointed with my order, I specifically asked for no coleslaw and was still added to the both of my sandwiches. Fries tasted old and were cold along with the cheese by the time I arrived home (10 min drive) when prior my food made it home HOT. I will not be coming back, the sandwich does not taste the same.

I read all these amazing reviews and decided to check this out. Thinking it would be good, I convinced my boyfriend to venture there on a rainy day. Maybe I was over hyped about it, but the experience felt off. We both ordered medium big boss chicken sandwiches and the sweet potato fries. The sandwich was alright, the sauce was really good but beyond that I wasn’t into the patty. The sweet potato fries needed some seasoning or salt or something. My cup of water had some specs of dirt floating in the bottom. It was a bummer and I ended up apologizing to my boyfriend for taking him here. I really had high hopes.

From the moment I walked into Big Boss Spicy Fried Chicken, I knew I was in for a treat. The smell of crispy fried chicken wafted through the air, and the staff greeted me with friendly smiles. The menu offered a variety of options, but I decided to go for the Spicy Fried Chicken sandwich and waffle fries. Let me tell you, that sandwich did not disappoint. The chicken was perfectly cooked - juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside - and the spice level was just right. The bun was soft and fresh, and the toppings (choice of spice level, onions, coleslaw, jalapenos, butter bun) added a nice balance to the heat. And those waffle fries? They were addictively delicious - crispy and seasoned to perfection. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also great - clean, modern, and comfortable. The staff were attentive and made sure I had everything I needed. Overall, I would highly recommend Big Boss Spicy Fried Chicken to anyone in the Chicago area. If you're a fan of spicy fried chicken, this place is a must-visit. The quality of the food and the friendly service make it a top-notch dining experience. I can't wait to go back and try more of their menu!

We just came back from Nashville not long ago and we had been craving for fried chicken. If you’ve been to Nashville, one of the food you must try is the fried chicken. Anyway, we saw this restaurant has quite good reviews and decided to come and try. We ordered the chicken sandwich and the wings. The chicken sandwich was medium spicy, but it was already very spicy for my husband. We usually have quite spicy food, but medium level was already very spicy for my husband so it means it’s VERY spicy. The chicken wings were mild, and it already had some kicks. I enjoyed this one better. The fried chickens were very tasty, not just the batter only but also the meats. The only thing I didn’t like was the chicken wings were so big, each wing looked like a turkey leg. I wish they were smaller. Overall: Menu: 4stars Service: 5stars Food: 4stars Price: $

Came here 3 times after change of owner. I have ordered Team box C every single time and I wanted it NOT SPICY. Guess what, 3 out of 3 I received an extremely hot Team Box C and this is the last time, I ain't coming back. Plus recipe has changed the batter become very hard and the chickens are very dry. It is totally different from before and honestly Popeye is better.

Split-Rail is a funky American comfort food restaurant in Ukie Village, owned by Zoe Schor. The restaurant offers a vintage vibe and serves heavenly fried chicken, including gluten-free and vegan versions. The owner, Zoe Schor, has perfected her fried chicken recipe over the years. The classic four-piece order includes a split boneless breast, a bone-in leg, and thigh that are perfectly crispy with just the right amount of breading.
So so so good. Finally someone knows how to make fried chicken with a scrumptious biscuit. I was also pleasantly surprised how good the Caesar salad tasted and was a great compliment to the chicken and biscuits. Can’t wait to come back when it’s time for comfort food.

Split-Rail had some very good fried chicken. The pieces are pretty small which is my biggest complaint about the dish. My wife got the salmon and it was pretty amazing. Don't bother getting the fried black eyed peas because both of us thought they were pretty bland. The cocktails are great!

I can’t say enough good things about this spot. It is always consistent, perfectly seasoned and cooked food, amazing service, and creative (without being annoying) cocktail program. I’ve tried a ton of things on the menu, but make sure you always get the fried chicken dinner. The chicken is perfection and the biscuits are just as good. I recently tried their spring pasta and it’s maybe the best thing I’ve eaten all year. Their spicy Caesar is also a classic and favorite dish of mine, it’s not very spicy so don’t be scared if you don’t typically like heat.

Absolutely loved this place. The atmosphere, the service, and the food was Amazing. I'd like to put out there the service most of all. Courtney was just perfect. I've never got such caring service before. She considered all my allergies and let me know how serious they take that into consideration. The owner must take care of there staff because every single one of them were attentive and such a pleasure to meet. Or just knows how to hire the right people for there team. I will definitely be going again. If I could add more stars I would.

There are numerous options for vegetarians, even for a limited menu that they have here. I was happy with my taco salad and the “snacks” that they have available (fried pickles and nachos were the best dishes on the menu). The vegan chicken option was fine, but quite bland without the sauce. The server was also confused as to how many pieces came in the order, which was disappointing. Overall, the experience was pretty good. Not the best option for people looking for “fake meat”, but still pretty good.

My friend saw Chef Zoe Schor compete on Alex vs. America. He wanted to try her famous fried chicken. The food was delicious. The crisp of yhe chicken and it was seasoned well. My favorite were the tender fluffy biscuits with the maple butter. The mac and cheese was delicious too. Well worth the trip from the Southside. Chef Zoe was gracious enough to take time to not only come and meet us, but she brought our food to the table. Chef Zoe you made his day!

Sad this place is closing! We had the fried chicken and risotto, and I cannot believe the party that happened in my mouth. We had three different interactions with three different employees/servers and they were all genuine, kind, and I wanted to be friends with them. With an inviting sidewalk patio, custom cocktails, and a Mardi Gras celebration that turns up the party atmosphere, Ina Mae provides an authentic Cajun experience reminiscent of Bourbon Street.

Food: I really wanted to like it and was hoping it gave me a true NOLA experience and it didn’t. For the first visit, I went for lunch and had Catfish and Grits. The Grits were ok and the Catfish was cool. The Deviled eggs were good. I recommend them. For the second visit, I went for dinner and took advantage of a special event. It was a dinner for 2 that included Catfish, a Crabcake, Shrimp, Fries, Hush puppies, and salad. The Catfish was the best thing. The crabcake was too fishy/I wasn’t a fan, the shrimp was good, I’m not a huge fan of hush puppies but I tried them and they were alright. The salad was cool. Drinks: First visit: I had Ina Mae’s Tropic Punch. It tasted like a glass of Kool Aid. I tasted no alcohol at all. Second visit: A Double Bubble shot and a Highway Main shot. The shots were good. I liked The Double Bubble one more. Service: 1st visit: The service was just barely ok. The server seemed to be in a zone/clueless. 2nd visit: The service was better than the first visit. Atmosphere: 1st visit: It was LOUD due to a band playing. It was so hard to hear anyone. I had to practically yell to talk. 2nd visit: There was no band so the noise level was normal/moderate noise. Final thoughts: Nothing wowed me. Good effort. I don’t necessarily have to return. I always encourage folks to try things for themselves soooooo…...good luck!

Update - the Director reached out and resolved this and was very apologetic. Again, not bad vibes but maybe a bad night. Man I cant even express my disappointment. But let me start with the positives.. vibe was nice. We came in for my friends bday and they had bingo going so that was cool. Our server was decent as well. Their margaritas was good and I enjoyed their fried pickles. Between us we got the fried chicken dinner (greens/ rice and beans) fried shrimp dinner (mac n cheese/rice n beans) chicken tenders with rice n beans/ mac n cheese. We got the crab dip and some biscuits.. yawl.. 😭😭😩 first of all the crab dip was fishy, and the tortillas were stale. When my friend finished her mac n cheese their was like a pool of oil at the bottom of the cup.. when i asked thr server about it she called it "cheese grease".. 🤢 my greens were under cooked.. 🤦🏽‍♀️ The fried chicken could definitely see Popeyes in the street though and the rice n beans were flavorful. The biscuits were ok. I just.. felt mislead by the reviews. I'd come back for the vibes and drinks but the food not so much. Check my photos.. I cant make this up. We couldn't even finish the food we were so disappointed.

Disappointed. The service, The meal. I was excited to check this place out but immediately ended up being let down. We tried almost everything but we came on a day they were out of almost everything. Not only that but the waitress did not want to wait on us. I had to keep flagging her down for her to check on the table. Not attentive at all. Mac 7/10 - cheesy Red beans 9/10 - great flavor Fried chicken 7.8/10 - lacked flavor but nice crunch (the sauces paired well with the honey hot and hot chicken . We had two orders) Tenders 8/10 - packed with most flavor paired with honey hot drizzle. Ranch - 10/10 - they charge you for sauces. Biscuits 9/10 - flaky warm however they charge you for butter. No jam. Deviled eggs - 6/10 - it was ok nothing exciting about them Overall experience 7/10 . A lot of things could have been better especially the service. It was disappointed because we came a long way not to feel welcomed.

My husband is out of state for business and stopped here for dinner last night. Immediately after eating, he experienced extreme vomiting and nausea. I had to call his hotel and ask them to call the ambulance to assist him because he could not leave the bathroom. The paramedics confirmed he had food poisoning. It was a very scary experience, since we have never in our life been through something like that. Completely unacceptable.

Starting of course the service was great , all staff were nice and helpful. Atmosphere is nice depends on the music and or the band. Now let’s get to the food. I am a fried chicken enthusiast and maybe I had a lot of expectations since it’s a southern restaurant. The chicken in my fried chicken was unseasoned just literally raw cooked chicken that haven’t been marinated or anything , and then breaded lightly and the breading is not great. The chicken tenders are a bit better but same remark that the seasoning is not great, Deviled eggs were just fine and the fried thing whatever in the pic was good , but overall the drinks were great the food unfortunately not, I hope to return and have a better experience, good luck I would say

The person seating people was a little rude, he tried to kick a guy off the bar because he wanted to save a seat at the bar for the person he was waiting for. I get it is a policy or something but I was surprised he would treat a guest like that. Not in my party but still. I got a “Santa Hurricane” and when I ordered it the lady was like do you know it’s just a hurricane in a Santa boot.. not sure that needed to be said. The food was okay, I got the Nashville hot chicken. It was wet with a sauce sprinkled on it and it was not spicy it was average. It was sauce. And I wish I had gotten hot sauce. I had a biscuit and fries as sides. They were mid. My partner got the blackened catfish and a gumbo. He liked it. He said it tasted traditionally Louisianan. The vibe was cool, lots of decor and fun tchotchkes

Roister, located in Chicago and part of Chef Grant Achatz's culinary empire, offers a hip and casual dining experience with creative New American cuisine. The open concept restaurant features a massive kitchen at its center, emanating the aroma of wood-fired cooking throughout. The menu presents casual American dishes with innovative twists that may seem unusual but are undeniably delicious.
I really enjoyed this restaurant. Their style and decor are on point. The service was professional. The food was delicious and tasty. They have a white variety of appetizers. They also offer a tasting menu which was well picked. The roasted duck was delicious and tasty. Their desserts were sweet, especially the Basque cheesecake. I would definitely recommend visiting this place for dates and events.
An J — Google review
Generally, the food is very good. The only downside is that it’s not a great spot for vegetarians given that most of the vegetarian options are vegetable dishes. I would think that Grant and his team could come up with some new ideas that are appealing to vegetarians that aren’t a vegetable with delicious sauces. Either way, it’s a good dining experience (and you’ll be paying Fulton Market pricing here).
Shashwat — Google review
Roister certainly has a unique vibe to it that’s both modern and rustic at the same time. The food was delicious and the staff brought out the plates for 2 people per dish as we had a big group. I’d say the vegetable dishes stood out the most to me, especially the cauliflower and broccoli. I’d recommend Rositer hands down and looking forward to coming back again. They have a few cocktail bars nearby to cap off your dinner.

On our trip from New York to Chicago, we decided to visit this restaurant based on a friend's suggestion. We appreciated the open kitchen concept, and the ambiance was pleasant, although the music didn't quite fit the atmosphere. Our server provided excellent service, no complaints there. However, we found the food to be somewhat lacking. While it was good, it didn't quite live up to the hype we had anticipated. Perhaps our expectations were too high. Although the Fried Chicken, touted as the specialty, was fairly ordinary, we were pleasantly surprised by the Agnolotti, which was packed with flavor. Another standout was the pear salad, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Overall, it was a decent experience, and we would still recommend it.

Went here for my birthday. Had seats at the hearth, turns out that's basically a bar overlooking the kitchen. So much to see and watch. The cooking stuff is extremely busy but we had a chance to chat and learn about some of the different stations. Drinks are delicious and unique. We had the smoked clams and oysters. The oysters were uniquely tasty. Then we had the cauliflower cheese fry bread dish which did not disappoint. Finally we had the Pastrami and seafood bucatini. Absolutely out of this world. Melts in your mouth delicious. Finally we shared the banana dessert which was, after everything being so stellar, fine. Cannot wait to go back to try the duck and the chicken

Had a fantastic brunch here last weekend celebrating my sister's birthday! The food was amazing, especially the truffle cinnamon roll (seriously, try it!). The only downside was feeling pressured by our waitress to add an extra tip on the bill when gratuity was already included. Otherwise, a great experience!

Where to even start. I went there for brunch one day and ended up going for dinner the following day. I loved the food. Very well put together dishes and lots of flavor. Their fried bread with aged cheddar rillettes are a must, as well as their truffle cinnamon bun (mind-blowing flavors). The mussels were amazing, you should definitely get them (realistically just get everything on the menu, the food really is that good). The service was amazing 10/10. Roost Chicken & Biscuits is a casual eatery that originated from a food truck and has now established a permanent location. The founder, Joe Scroggs, offers three types of chicken known for their crispy skin and juicy meat: Herb Seasoned, Spicy, and Nashville Hot. Their signature fried chicken sandwich features pickles, coleslaw, and chipotle ranch on either a brioche bun or biscuit.
Outdoor dining experience was great! Our waitress was very attentive and timely. Her suggestions were on point. We ordered the Hillbilly tacos and Chicken and waffles (and fries). To our surprise the tenders were HUGE! We got one tender TN hot and one tender original for the chicken and waffles which was SUPERB! The waffles were served with what tasted like cinnamon butter -a great compliment to the waffles. The Hillbilly tacos had pickled coleslaw and chipotle ranch dressing served on flour tortillas. They were actually very delicious!!!! You can choose the heat level/sauce as well. I had original and was very impressed! Can’t wait to go back and try the other sauces and maybe even the pickle beer!

The food at Roost is great but this location and the bake house next door did the community dirty by blocking the public bike rack with their outdoor patios so only one bike at a time can fit there and then asking people not to chain their bikes on their fencing. Smh, find a better solution for bikers. You caused the problem.

This is definitely a good place to try & return to! I came here with different age range group, and it was approved by everyone! Especially the teenager who is very picky- they really loved eating the chicken wrap and milkshake! They had a happy hour special, which was a a great deal and delicious! My friend got $2 beer special and I got the cocktail special $4 for a tall glass of iced tea and rum, that was delicious! The rest of us got the original chicken sandwich on a biscuit, the only thing you should know is that the sandwiches do not come with fries you have to kind of order everything separately. One of our friends wanted to try the biscuits and gravy and they said they really liked it! Then we ordered mac & cheese…unfortunately, the mac & cheese was our least favorite- the cheese was a little bit watery. The fries were delicious and crunchy! We hope to go again we just would probably order different things to try . Also, the biscuits were so delicious but if you don’t eat the sandwich fresh, it will fall apart or crumble from the coleslaw and anything else that you put on it that will cause it to drip/break into pieces. We ended up going with spicy chicken for the sandwiches and it wasn’t spicy at all .
Claudia — Google review
What can I say, this was an amazing sandwich. The chicken was crispy & flavorful… the biscuit was buttery and flaky. The price was on point for the quality of the food. I ate outside on the Patio area which was very cute. I give this a 5⭐️ Jerry ( the pigeon) gives it 5.5 ⭐️

Well this is more towards trying Roost Chicken and Biscuits for the 1st time not at their restaurant but a Catered event at 300 S Wacker Ave at my office. They served the Chicken Wings, fries and the biscuits. Their Chicken wings were just meh ok. I DID NOT taste the wow on their chicken Wings? It was too dry and bland and not juicy. The biscuits were the show as they were NOT hard like Popeyes or Church's Texas Fried Chicken. I would go to their restaurant to try their Chicken sandwiches since I got this for free in Roscoe Village since that is close to where I live versus going to downtown

Had my car serviced in the area and needed to kill some time with my son. They have good Chicken and music/play area to keep kids busy!

Freaking amazing! As a foodie and online reviewer, this place is 5 stars. It was a little busy, but our servers took care of us and the food came fast! Get a biscuit no matter what. We ordered the loaded fries and they were devoured- perfect for 2 people. Also, the peach cobbler shake is delectable.

I love this place. Service is generally very quick and the food quality is good. They also have basically the best drink specials anywhere (and I don't think people know about it!) I go here often

Harold's Chicken is a beloved fast-food joint in Chicago, known for its no-frills atmosphere and mouthwatering fried chicken and fish, accompanied by their signature sauces. With numerous locations across the city, including popular spots in Bronzeville and Wicker Park, Harold's offers a 1/4 chicken dinner served with fries and coleslaw at an affordable price. While the service can be hit or miss, the fresh and hot food makes it worth the wait.
Man 🤩 idk what it is about this specific Harold's Chicken location but it hits Everytime! I got the 1/2 white dinner and when I tell you every piece of chicken was fire that's exactly what I mean! Always loved their food and variety. Only thing is I feel their wings can be too expensive vs the actual dinners cause I feel like you're getting a better value when you get the dinner over the wings but other then that they are definitely excellent and a Chicago staple 👌🏾
Christopher M — Google review
Haven’t had any Harold’s Chicken in years. I’m not a chicken person but I tired it. I use to go to this location a lot like years ago. The cashier was cool and the inside is the inside. It’s not finna b all brand new this is Harold’s Chicken we talking about in the trenches. It was busy that’s to b expected. The chicken was decent but not how it use to be when I went 5 years ago. I got a half dark fries hard with mind sauce to the side.

I gotta admit I was a little reluctant to come to this location due to the other reviews but I gotta say the food was pretty good. I'd never had or even heard of mild sauce before but I'm definitely missing out. Also the chick and fries tasted fresh and I'm definitely glad I came. The customer service wasn't amazing but it is what it is.

They think they the best Harold’s in the city. So they keep going up on they prices and this time they put my mild sauce on the side. I said salt paper and mild sauce never said on the side! Bad Business owner and worker even worst!

Love this place but over the years the service has wavered a bit. And the quality in which food has made has lacked ive found myself having to double check my order. But im glad that accept card now. Thats a plus

Horrible!!!!! Waited over a hr for the food. The Cashier was very rude. Refused everyone there money back. I’ve called to speak with the owner several times no one ever returned the call back. The food is good but it’s not worth the service & what you have to deal with to get it. Also poured sauce on one of the customers food inside of the unsanitary window customers was just talkin through. This was unbelievable

Food was fresh and hot. I ordered the 8pc wings with fries, of course mild sauce on everything. It was so delicious. Every time I come to this Harold's it's always a great experience. Customer service Is respectful as well.

If you're searching for a family-friendly dining spot, Uncle Remus SFC - 47th Street is the place to be. The spacious restaurant boasts a welcoming atmosphere and amiable staff. Their signature extra saucy and crispy chicken wings have earned them the title of the best on the West Side. In addition to their renowned wings, their catfish is praised for its flaky texture and light cornmeal coating.
Chicken was fresh and VERY good. Taste much better than the other locations I've been to. Chicken is cooked to order. I prefer with no sauce, so I can put the amount of sauce I want on the wings. Fries and cole slaw are also good. Prices are a little high, but chicken is worth it. Manager, K.D., was super nice when I called and made sure everything was right.

Fried Okra was horrible, nothings inside the batter. The chicken wings were pretty good. I traveled some miles to check this place out because it was featured on a television show. I won’t be going back. I arrived around noon and place was empty.

I grew up on the westside I always like Uncle Remus chicken especially the sauce. I was shocked that it was one on the Southside .The place wasn't as busy but they did have alot of door dash orders. I got mix pan chicken wasn't over cook and the sauce was good. I didn't know the rolls didn't come with pan.

Apparently, Harold's Chicken has a Westside rivalry with Uncle Remus, so being a South-Sider, I had to check it out. First time ordering takeout orders. Placed an order online and got a text when my order was ready. I ordered two tray meals (dark meat only), two orders of French fries, 6 rolls (split in 3's on the trays), two large coleslaws, and two slices of chocolate cake. The chicken was good and fried fresh, same for the French fries. Really liked the sides. It was a bit pricey for only two people, but we did enjoy the food and had leftovers. Customer service was nothing special, but I would order this once in a while and would recommend trying it out to others. As far as the rivalry goes, I think both chicken places are good, but Harold's Chicken is hard to beat. 👌🏽👍🏽
Rachel I — Google review
The catfish at this place is excellent, its flaky and the batter is just a light cornmeal coating. Dip into that hot sauce for heat and zing. Their wings are also very good. The batter is crispy and crunchy, kerping the meat moist and hot. Again, dip it in that hot sauce. I was disappinted with the fried okra. The batter was too dense and not able to taste the actual okra. Just tasted like breading. A lighter tempura-like batter and okra stalks (instead of coins) would be a vast improvement.

This is my first visit to Chicago from Mississippi and one of my coworkers told me I had to try this place. I made it a point to visit here and I am beyond disappointed. We were refused service because a child and adult with us left their mask in the car (understandable). Once the masks were retrieved we proceeded with our order. We waited 30 minutes for our food (which is cool as long as the food is fresh). While waiting for our food. A young lady walked in and the server told her that she had to have a mask to order. The exact same guy in the back that was cooking and refused our service instructed the server to let her order. She was able to order her food without a mask. I'm from MS so I'm no stranger to being discriminated against but wow. After waiting 30 minutes for my food it was not fresh and I will leave a pic of the chicken. The skin was so hard that it was inedible. The sever Keke was nice but that's about it.
Joetta W — Google review
Uncle Remus on a good day beats Harold’s. The turkey wings are massive, coating is crispy with a great mild sauce filling in the crevices. Fries and okra are great too. Note to the (amazing) chefs - the breasts can easily be overdone and get dry
William W — Google review
Different experiences for different people. I’ve seen the mixed reviews on Uncle Remus and to be honest with you, I can’t ever say I’ve had a bad experience. Every time I’ve went the chicken and fish has been on point. The fries were excellent. The mild sauce was generous, I’ll take Uncle Remus every time. Now please keep in mind Uncle Remus and Harold’s Chicken are both chicken shacks, but on 2 different levels. Uncle Remus is on the level of your Popeyes, Church’s & Brown’s. As for Harold’s is on the level of JJ Fish & Shark’s. People like to compare them but there are totally different and the price indicates that too.

The Budlong Southern Chicken is a casual counter-serve restaurant known for its Nashville-style fried chicken, Southern sides, pies, and sodas. The establishment takes pride in serving locally sourced, antibiotic-free and hormone-free meat. Their hot chicken is served on classic Texas Toast and is highly recommended with the chopped salad featuring chicken tenders. The atmosphere at The Budlong is described as cool and comfortable with themed decor that adds to the overall experience without being overdone.
We had a great experience at the Budlong in Lincoln Park! Manny was awesome & SO helpful throughout the meal. We tried a few different items on the menu, including their delicious Southern Style chicken sandwich with pimento cheese (Nashville style!) as well as the creamy Mac and cheese and the banana pudding which was SO good. Plus, it was pretty cheap for everything that we got! The interior was rustic & homey, and it is so clear that a ton of effort was put into making this a cool spot to be at. I’d highly recommend it!
Corrine M — Google review
Lots of highs and lows here. The chicken is great, cooked well and the heat is perfect. The Mac and cheese was only okay and the fried cornbread was actively weeping oil. Next time I might just ditch the sides
A D — Google review
I went with a coworker and we both grabbed the yo’ momma’s chicken sandwich. It was simple with the black pepper pickle relish mayo giving it a little lift. Service was so so nothing special but not a bother either. We did not wait forever and the food was prepared just fine. The spot felt casual and good for a quick lunch. I would go back if I needed something laid back and filling.
Eric B — Google review
I’m always looking for new favorites and decided to try Budlong. I figured a chicken sandwich and fries would be a decent meal, but I’m not sure how much I actually liked it. There was a bit too much pimento cheese for my liking and it overwhelmed the flavor of the chicken. The fries, however, were very tasty with their seasoning. I’m not sure it’s quite worth the price though given that it cost me $18 whereas I can similar quality for cheaper and better meals for the same price.
Clay G — Google review
Budlong used to be so good, why did they change it?! Their biscuit was the best I've ever had, now gone from the menu. My chicken sandwich was good except for the actual chicken. It was somehow stringy and wet inside? I actually didn't finish it. Hush puppies are great. Service was great. But the core of their menu, the chicken sandwich, needed help.
Irene — Google review
I got the Hot Chicken sandwich with everything on it. It was delicious but not as juicy as other reviewers are saying. The Mac&Cheese was amazing. It had a nice little kick to it. The fries were cut thick. Definitely getting what you pay for.
Peter J — Google review
Good chicken sandwich, Mac was decent. Cashier/server made my night, thin black girl with piercings, super helpful and was very patient with me after a bad day.
Amelia L — Google review
I really wanted to love this place, but at the price I just can’t justify it. They price themselves as the best fried chicken sandwich in Chicago, and I think they’re close. But I’d still say it wasn’t perfect. The chicken itself was very crispy and quite juicy, but I’d really like to see a sweeter coleslaw to balance out the heat, I think it’d go a long way. The mac and cheese was okay but again not worth the price tag.

Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken is a long-standing chain known for its spicy fried chicken and classic sides, all served in a casual atmosphere. The recipe for their hot and spicy fried chicken has been a closely guarded secret within the Bonner family since 1953. The crispy, dark skin of the chicken is both salty and spicy, while the meat inside remains juicy and satisfying. Located in the charming Fulton Market area of Chicago's West Loop, this spot offers quick service with friendly staff.
Seriously one of my favorite fried chicken spots, ever. The chicken is amazingly delicious, the spices they use here made this chicken so flavorful. For sides we had Mac and cheese, as well as fried green tomatoes which were great too! To top it all off we had the root beer float and was also great. I can’t wait to come back and have more of this place.

I went to this restaurant to support my people. I love going to black-owned restaurants. I feel like the restaurant had the potential. But it didn't live up to the hype or expectations. My food wasn't hot as it should have been. They served the food on a paper plate. I wanted my food smoking hot and the greens felt like it came out of a can. The mac and cheese had shredded cheese on top and it wasn't even melted. The only thing I enjoyed was the pop and the free refills. Won't be coming back, as a black owned restaurant up north. Do Better!!!
Asia M — Google review
The okra is AMAZING. Cooked perfectly, not greasy. The collard greens were seasoned just right. They were really good. NOW…. The Mac N’ Cheese had velveeta in it. :/ It was not good. The fried chicken is overrated. It tastes like Chinese chicken wings. :( A gentleman came inside begging for work and the employee allowed him to clean the store windows.

This chicken is very crispy, juicy, seasoned well and always made to order 5/5 we ordered 3 chicken breast. We loved the fries, mac n cheese, potatoe salad and coleslaw all sides were well seasoned 5/5. We loved the buttermilk ranch dip and honey musturd 5/5. Total spent was a bit over 50 bucks feed me and my wife. Little bit on the pricy side but the chicken i would say is worth a try!

The chicken is always crispy, juicy, and the right hit of spice. The sides aren't stellar but they're supporting characters. Lol. What we had: - Fried green tomatoes - Fried Chicken, baked beans, mac, okra It's just down to earth, simple.

The food was hot and made right after we ordered. We ordered the chicken dinners while our daughter ordered chicken tenders. Everything was delicious and fresh. Service was good as well. It was a little pricey but I believe it was worth it. It also a good place to bring the kids. I recommend this place if you are looking for something that is different from your average chicken dinner.

Great fried chicken I would say 8/10 - I got everything for take out the Mac and cheese wee fine like 7/10 and the fries are good also 8/10. Everything was tasty - totally need a soda with all of this. Staff are nice during pick up and I look forward to try more things from that place!

The people working there are attentive, fast, and responsive. The fries tasted really good and it was crunchy 🍟. The chicken wasn't perfect or bad but I guess I am not a big fan of the type of oil used ( personal preference). What to improve: Adding a slice of pita bread, becuase it is stronger the bread being served.

Tried this place for the first time a month ago and i had a lovely experience. Customer service and food was great. The food was also amazing. I didn’t order fries but they gave me some anyways which is awesome. I just went back today and ordered a quarter pound of shrimp. The white man with a beard at the register decided to give me half a pound instead! This made my day may god bless that man. He also threw me in another sauce. Customer service is beyond top tier and so is the food. The prices make it even better. This place deserves to be in chicago HOF

Love the shrimp and Chicken with the Hienie’s mild sauce. The employees are very nice with the customers and it’s a very busy restaurant so be ready to wait for your food but it’s definitely worth it. Hienie’s is definitely a hidden gem on the south side of Chicago with their signature sauce and they also have it in hot sauce as well.

Their chicken sandwich is tasty and comes with fries. That alone would make me come back, but their pizza is surprisingly good. Not bad at about $3.50 a slice, and filling too. Pick up a pop for a buck with it and it's a decent lunch on the go for cheap. Just be careful, at peak lunch you might want to call your order in since it gets full of people.

I love family run businesses, and this is one of them! The fried chicken is outrageously delicious and so is the perch, fried shrimp and coleslaw. I wanted to give it five stars, but there are 2 small problems. I wish they had better fries. The fries are standard crinkle cut frozen fries. They are fine, but don’t match the “specialness” of the chicken, perch and shrimp. I’d also say the restaurant interior could use a freshening up. But neither of these things will stop me from going back!
Danicajhey — Google review
Old fashion dive spot that is a hit amongst locals. Hienie’s is a personal favorite of mine. Chicken and fries are always fresh when I order. Chicken was juicy and delicious. Also had a slice of pizza and that was really good. I’m not a hot sauce fan but my brothers rave about the bright orange hot sauce.

Got a pound of shrimp and a half pound of lake perch. Both were made with a new/ changed oil, shrimp was obviously fresh.lake perch fillets were evenly coated and crispy. Not too terribly greasy but it's fried seafood so not the healthiest options. Slight inflammation after from the oil but hey that's the food. Came here my whole life, stays consistent in my opinion. For hienies, 7.9/10 or 3/5

Weve been coming to Heinies as a family before they even had this location. Ordered $45 worth of food and was sorely disappointed. The chicken tasted as though it was fried in day old grease. Shrimp & fish had NO flavor. And then they forgot our fish after the manager was nice enough to replace the order. Will not return.

Southern restaurant (US)
Luella's Southern Kitchen, located in the Lincoln Square neighborhood of Chicago, is a casual and cozy restaurant that pays homage to chef and owner Darnell Reed's great-grandmother, Luella. The restaurant offers traditional Southern favorites with a contemporary twist and is known for its weekend brunch menu.
I went to Luella’s Southern Kitchen in Chicago for brunch, and the food was absolutely delicious! We ordered the Crab Stuffed Shrimp & Grits, Chicken & Waffles, and the Buttermilk Pancakes. Everything was packed with flavor and very filling. 1. The Buttermilk Pancakes (topped with blueberries) were hands down the BEST I’ve ever had in my life. 2. The Chicken & Waffles came with three crispy, juicy pieces of chicken set on top of fluffy waffles. 3. The Crab Stuffed Shrimp & Grits were flavorful, hearty, and worth every bite. One thing to note: you order before sitting down, which can be tricky if seating is tight. We went for Sunday brunch around 11 and had plenty of options, but by noon the tables were almost gone. Overall, I highly recommend Luella’s Southern Kitchen and can’t wait to go back!

Being from Myrtle Beach this restaurant gives me the low country flavors I miss! My partner and I have made it our brunch spot, doing the short commute from wicker park to get a taste of rotating specials with quality products. We’ve never been disappointed! Service here is great, it smells like Church on the third Sunday where they feed you after. Really nostalgic and thoughtful curation - a single turntable playing the morning queue, wildly accepting place. Friendly for LGBTQ+ indeed. Go get your brunch, savory or sweet - family style it all for a fun time.

Fantastic counter service restaurant!! Order from the limited menu before you seat yourself. Everyone in my group of 4 loved their dish. I had pancakes with a side of hash browns. Both were the best I've had in a long time. Service was a little slow. But it was super crowded on a Saturday at 11. Ambience is definitely fun & funky. Bright & warm atmosphere.

Great service, environment and of course great food. You will taste great quality. Me and my daughter shared food. The Mac and cheese /collard greens perfect flavor, biscuits gravy with chicken/Nashville chicken and waffles perfect seasoning plus I usually don’t eat spicy but the Nashville I actually ate. We also shared the banana pecan French toast it was delicious. We will be back to taste the rest of the menu. 👍🏾☺️

Took an adventure to the North Side with our son. We saw some photos online and thought wow this looks like some good comfort food. You have to find some parking, parking some distance away isn’t a bad thing based on how much food they serve you, walking it off back to the car (if you’re driving) is good. My old lady ordered the Kentucky Hot Brown, it’s a sandwich on a brioche bun, yet it wasn’t soft. It was a bit dry, moisture was needed. Gravy, ham (she doesn’t like ham), and bacon were delicious… honestly. I ordered the Chicken and Waffles smothered with Nashville Hot sauce. The chicken was hot, spicy, crunchy, and juicy. The waffle was a bit thick but the syrup made it pretty melt in your mouth. We ordered a side of Mac n cheese which was baked and there had to be some Asiago in it, it was very delicious. We also ordered some beignets to go, they were fresh and warm, who doesn’t like powdered sugar? Overall service: Ordering was a bit annoying, you had to order once you walk in, before you get a table. Also I ordered the beignets to go after I already got to my table, I had to go back up to the register and also wait in line for other people to order. It is not very spacious, wouldn’t recommend bringing in a stroller, we felt like we took up a lot of space. Food was made to order, it felt like they were understaffed, the host and the bar back/server/busser were serving food and cleaning tables. Which also caused some delay in new customers ordering. It is a bit pricey, definitely wouldn’t go out of our way to come eat here again but if we were in the area we would definitely stop by.

Ok this place is truly amazing. We first saw this place on TikTok and it looked so good. I can say it lives up to its hype. For context, my boyfriend is a chef who can be hard to impress, and I lived in the south for 10 years. This blew both of our minds. I am a clean freak and I never touch foods that falls on the table, but I was picking up every single crumbs wherever they landed (we were a little messy). We ordered shrimp and grits, french toast (lemon and cookie crumbles this week), pimento brisket bagel sandwich (another special, don’t remember the exact name) and a side of hash browns and biscuits. Every single one of them were delicious and so flavorful. I don’t know what we have been eating before but other hash browns, grits, and biscuits we have had before aren’t the real deals because they suck. Neither of us like grits in general but we absolutely loved it here. We spoke about the food the whole time while we were there and that is unusual for us. My bf mentioned he could tell everything was made freshly also. Little tip: if you go on weekends, go early. We got there around 1pm and the waitlist was full. This was our second attempt and we went as soon as they opened. Seatings are a lot easier during the week so do that if your job allows it. We will be going back again. Thank goodness we live nearby. The only reason why we can’t stop by often is because we would be so out of shape otherwise. Absolutely amazing.
Monica — Google review
The place is very small for the amount of people who Floyd through the doors... I got the cream stuffed shrimp and grits and my beloved got the chicken and waffles... The grits had to much cream to me and if wasn't for the sauce that came with the shrimp I probably wouldn't have stew ate it... The sauce was scarcely added, they should give more.. the chicken was very good, seasoned all the way through and tender. However, I think I would go back and try another one of the 8 dishes they have on total but not no time soon...

Roost Chicken & Biscuits is a laid-back eatery that started as a food truck and now has a permanent restaurant on Irving Park Rd in Chicago. They are known for their Southern comfort food, particularly their fried chicken served on moist, flaky, buttery biscuits or by the piece. The menu also features chicken sandwiches and buttermilk-brined chicken with sides like coleslaw and mac & cheese.
Roost chicken and biscuits is the place to drop in for a quick and delicious breakfast. I had the sunrise because it was recommended on TikTok. In hindsight, I should have tried their house style which is similar to a Nashville hot chicken sandwich which if you follow my reviews I LOVE. Either way food and service was amazing! I met Sebastian the GM and his customer service skills water elite! I would come back just for him and the good of course. Side note their chipotle ranch is incredible!

Goodness gracious this place had some of the freshest, most tender chicken I’ve ever had in my life. If you go, get the Carolina Style chicken sandwich that has hot honey and pimento cheese. It blows Chick-Fil-A’s out of the water honestly. The others in my group got chicken tenders, a chicken sandwich, and some chicken fries. They really liked their food just like I did. The buffalo sauce is also delicious and they generously have bottles of their sauce in the condiment area where seating is so you can load up however much you want. The establishment & restrooms were clean. Staff were friendly and lively all joking with each other, prices were fair, and this place was on the way to ORD as we were approaching from Downtown Chicago so it was really convenient to eat here then get on the metro. Please come here if you can!

I visited this establishment on a Sunday afternoon around lunchtime. Right away, I noticed that no signs were posted at the entrance regarding their policy on service animals — whether welcoming or otherwise. As I approached the counter to order, the staff member informed me that I would have to wait outside while they prepared my fried chicken sandwich. I was accompanied by my service animal, who was clearly identified with badges. Despite this, the staff did not follow proper ADA protocol by asking the only two legally allowed questions: whether it is a service animal, and what tasks it performs. Instead, it felt clear that animals, even service animals, were not welcome. Due to the way I was treated, I canceled my order and left. I would not recommend supporting a business that disregards ADA laws and shows such little respect for individuals with service animals.

I tried Roost Chicken and Biscuits at the Chi Food Truck Fest and it was good! I especially appreciated that it’s Black-owned and really wanted to support. The customer service was excellent and the price was reasonable. I ordered the fried chicken on a biscuit, and the hot honey BBQ sauce was a much-needed addition that really pulled everything together. I also added chipotle ranch, cucumber slaw, and pickles—which brought great flavour and texture. I’d consider giving the actual restaurant a try!

I had the House Style sandwich & it was phenomenal! Crispy yet fluffy & packed with flavor. It’s a whirlwind of flavor but not a whirlwind of emotions because the only emotion you feel when eating it is pure bliss. Come home to Roost!

This was one of my first stops once getting to Chicago. We arrived and it was empty which was concerning but I wasn't going to let that stop me. The cashier struggled answering my questions and seemed to be guessing more than giving an accurate answer. I ended up walking away because ever answer was beating around the bush kind of response so I let the person I was with complete the transaction. The space was decent. They had a fair amount of seating not huge but not tiny. Simple dining room but serves its purpose. For food we got the house style on a plain biscuit and the sunrise on a jalapeño cheddar biscuit. The house style def would have been better fit for a brioche bun over the biscuit. But that wasn't a recommendation the cashier could assist with. The sunrise breakfast sandwich did great on the biscuit. But over all I have 2 big issues. 1) the biscuits even though it looked like they came out a hot box sat on the counter and became cold. 2) the same for the sandwiches themselves. They moved so slow and no urgency that the food was like warm. I ordered hot sandwiches I expected hot sandwiches. The flavor was good but the template was lacking. I've had hotter sandwiches from delivery orders and considering I ate at the restaurant I'm not sure how they managed it. Besides nothing was good fresh and all of it was being held in hot boxes besides the egg so it was really barely warm to began with then the solid build of the sandwiches finished off eliminating and warmth.

A Mac & Cheese Masterpiece I’ve officially found my new go-to comfort food spot — Roost Chicken and Biscuits! I came in curious, and left completely hooked, especially on their Dirty Bird Mac and Cheese. This dish is next-level: creamy, cheesy, rich, and packed with crispy chicken that brings serious flavor. I ordered it medium heat, which had just the right kick without overpowering the dish — but next time, I’m definitely tempted to go hotter. I also tried one of their chicken biscuits, and it was solid — flaky, buttery, and satisfying. But honestly, the Mac is where it’s at. If you’re a fan of indulgent, savory comfort food with a Southern twist, Roost is absolutely worth the visit. Pro tip: Come hungry. And maybe wear stretchy pants.

OMG! This is probably the best chicken sandwich in the city of Chicago. I ordered the house classic chicken sandwich on a brioche bun with coleslaw, chipotle ranch sauce, and hot honey sauce. It’s mouthwatering goodness I love this place. The food is so good!

Parson's Chicken & Fish is a delightful culinary gem that offers an inviting atmosphere with patio seating, affordable drinks, and mouthwatering dishes. With fried chicken and fish priced between $6 to $8, the menu features a fantastic array of Southern classics like hush puppies, hot chicken (available in limited quantities), and pimento toast. A must-try is their Negroni slushy—perfect for sipping while you indulge in snacks like hush puppies or grilled chicken.
We love Parson’s Chicken and Fish! We’ve been coming to multiple locations for years and are never disappointed. Favorites include the chicken and waffles, mac ‘n’ cheese, and chicken sandwich. The fish and chips and coleslaw are honorable mentions—but I personally skip the burgers here. They have a large beer and cocktail menu, plus plenty of alcohol-free options like pickle soda. Try their own Parson’s beer! This place is a true Chicago staple in my book.

We stopped in for a late dinner and ordered the hot nuggets and the half chicken with fries. My partner really enjoyed his meal, the chicken was flavorful and perfectly juicy. I was a bit underwhelmed with my hot nuggets, as I wished they had been just as juicy and tender. Overall, though, it was a nice spot for a casual bite and we’d consider coming back to try something different next time. (They have a lot of fun frozen cocktails we would like to try!)

Another great afternoon at Parsons! We’ve hosted several birthday parties here over the years, and even with large groups, the team always handles everything with ease and excellent service—and yesterday was no exception. Huge thanks to the staff for helping make our day so special. We’ll definitely keep coming back to this beloved Chicago staple!

Really delicious food, great drinks, and a fun vibe! We were able to sit comfortably as a party of 9 and we didn't wait that long for the food, especially given how crowded it was on a Friday night. I would return for the slushy cocktails alone. Hush puppies with ham/bacon were also incredible. I'm from the south and was very impressed.

This place is spacious and delicious. Me love it long time. The Hush Puppies are way better than most. Shhhh!

Fried chicken was delicious, of course. Highly recommend ordering a side of pickles to cut the richness of the rest of the meal. The fries and homemade ranch were also top tier.

Great fried chicken with a nice outdoor seating area and a cool vibe. Great cocktail selection and very affordable.

Everyone is incredible and I have never had a bad experience. It’s clear they have high standards when it comes to hiring; as each time we are served by someone with friendliness, knowledge, and patience. Matt and Gabby are both amazing at running the place while also serving, food-running, snd bartending. Andrew, Noah, and Deshon are also always a pleasure to work with. I have been coming here for years as my go to spot and it’s EASILY the staff who make it a great place to be. Family friendly as well. Food is always 10/10. Takeout Restaurant
Harold's Chicken Shack is a beloved mini-chain that has become synonymous with fried chicken in Chicago since its inception by Harold Pierce in 1950. Known for its no-frills atmosphere, this local gem serves up mouthwatering fried food and comforting sides that keep patrons coming back for more. The star of the menu is undoubtedly their crispy wings, which are generously drizzled with the signature mild sauce—a true Chicago classic.
I arrived at the restaurant around 3 pm. I was excited to see there were no other customers inside the restaurant. I was politely greeted by the Harold's employee who very patiently answered my questions. After placing my order I stepped aside and prepared myself for a long wait. After a couple of hands of Gin Rummy on my phone, my name was called and my order was ready. It was correct, hot and delicious.

Hello I had a taste for some hot links on today my wife wanted gizzard so why not shop local. I called my order in and repeated my orders twice gizzard cooked soft sauce on the side and my hot link with light sauce not drenched. Five minuets later I came in and paid for my order and repeated to the young lady how I wanted my food prepared light sauce on links and no sauce on gizzard to which she confirmed. I drive all the way home wash my hands and sit down to eat only to find the hot link swimming in a bath tub of grease and barbecue sauce. I tried to look past the error and being to eat the link which was very soft inside I reluctantly finished 1 of the 2 links while looking at all the grease and sauce. So I called back and got hung up on 3 times until they answered. Long story short all they wanted to do was give me 1 link and some fried not taking into consideration my inconvenience at all. Refusing to give me a refund per a note they say it's posted on they business. Buyers beware!!!

This is by far the worst Harold's I have ever been to. I went in to place my order at 8:30 p.m.,now I have to remind you that they close at 9:00 p.m. Before I could say anything, the young lady behind the counter told me that they ran out of chicken, not even knowing if that’s what I wanted to order. She was pretty much telling me that they were no longer taking orders even though they were open until 9:00 p.m. Very unprofessional I won't be returning back to this Harolds.

Let me just start by saying that I'm not sure how this place is still open for business. The staff is very rude and unprofessional. The food was not fresh, my chicken wings were old and the fries were cold. I will never eat here again.

Every time we stop by at the Dunkin donuts next door we're always saying we're going to try this place. We ordered a 8 piece mixed with lemon pepper and hot sauce on the side. We waited about 30 minutes for the food which for me I think it's excessive for an 8 piece. Chicken was descent enough for me to want to order again but next time I will order ahead of time.

The food here is excellent and I get the same thing everytime however they always burn up the fries. The sad part is I always ask them to cook my fries soft and they still burn them. Harold’s stop burning the fries DAMN

Disappointed with my overall experience at Harold's today (November 30, 2024) @4:00pm. I placed my order over the phone, expecting it to be ready for pick up in a reasonable amount of time. However, I did call and spoke to someone who will let the owners know. The food was great though

Cleo's Southern Cuisine is a small but popular spot that has gained attention through social media. The staff is known for being extremely friendly and the food is said to be worth the wait. Customers have raved about dishes like the Eddie Mac sandwich, catfish, mac and cheese, and muffins, all of which are described as delicious and well-seasoned. While some have found the sides to be amazing, others felt that certain dishes didn't quite hit the mark in terms of flavor authenticity.
My first time at Cleo’s. Customer service was great. Wait time was 45 minutes (but it was worth the wait). The food was amazing. I had the Float and Fly. It included 3 wings and 3 nice size catfish fillets and 2 sides and the golden muffin. The flavor of the food is indescribable. I definitely will be returning.

Keith Lee????? Ain’t no way you rated this that high saying it’s the best place to eat in Chicago. My bfs wings had to be hours old. No flavor or fresh at all. I feel like the only thing made fresh here is the fish (what I ordered) they put everything in one plate making the fish soggy from the yams and the overly buttered corn muffin. The fish was salty to me but way better than his chicken. The greens beans…….. way too much garlic and onion powder. The fish doesn’t need that extra sauce idk what it was lol it just made it more soggy. I wish I had hot sauce packets it would have helped with the saltiness. I wouldn’t eat here again. The workers were nice tho..
Kendall M — Google review
Food took a little while to be fully ready given, they were pretty busy with how many orders they were preparing. Catfish was great and the Mac and cheese was AMAZING. Ended up having leftovers due to the big proportion and had essentially two meals. Really enjoyed the candied sweet potatoes, especially with the corn bread. Also bought some of their sauces (hot honey sauce and mango habanero sauce) which were also pretty good with the catfish. There’s very limited seating inside.

Hubby and I drove over an hour on a Sunday afternoon to try Cleo's. We placed our order while driving, hoping this would cut down on our wait time once we arrived. Husband ordered the TEN and I ordered the Sizzling Swamp with macaroni and green beans. We added an extra side of macaroni and a side of greens. We got the Purple Rain and the Mississippi Sunshine to try both. Also Husband got the peach cobbler cheesecake. Total price with tip was $172. Once we arrived we still had a little over 10 minutes before our order pick-up time. At pickup time, my husband went inside to get the food and it wasn't ready. When he inquired about it, the staff had some difficulty locating the order. They kept asking what name it was under and what platform the order was placed. They were ultimately able to pull up the order and then they worked to get it prepared quickly. Due to the length of our commute, the food wasn't hot when we ate it, but it was still warm enough to consume without re-heating. The Sizzling Swamp was delicious and my husband also said the TEN was delicious. He really enjoyed the yams and we both enjoyed the cornbread muffins. The macaroni was good, but nothing spectacular. The greens had too much vinegar for our taste and the green beans had a very strong flavor. I'm not sure what it was but, I wasn't a fan. The drinks were good and my husband enjoyed the cheesecake. Overall the food was good and probably would have been better if we were able to eat it right away, but I am willing to give it another try.

Food delivery lived up to the hype! Customer service was great! Very small on the inside, you would be lucky to get a chance to sit down and eat. This is definitely more of a order and wait or order ahead and pick up and leave situation. I got lucky when I went. Definitely come every because they sell out towards the end of day. I cant wait to come back for sure! Follow taste the blessings on YouTube, Instagram and Tiktok for more.

I recently tried Cleos in Bronzeville and overall had a decent experience. The pricing felt fair for what you get, and I really liked how easy their online ordering system was to use. The photos of the menu items were a nice touch and made it much easier to decide what to order. I ordered the mac and cheese, sweet potatoes, grits, fried chicken, fish and grits with buttered crab meat, and green beans. Everything looked great when it arrived, and you can tell they take pride in presentation. Flavor-wise, I was a little underwhelmed. Most of the dishes were quite peppery, which seemed to be the main seasoning across the board. The sweet potatoes had a very strong nutmeg flavor, which isn’t my personal favorite, so that one came down to taste preference. The standout for us was definitely the fish and grits. My husband gave it a 10 out of 10 — the fish was cooked perfectly, the grits were creamy, and the buttered crab meat on top was delicious. Overall, I think Cleos is a business worth supporting and I’ll definitely give it another try. As a first-time visitor, it wasn’t quite as impressive as I’d hoped, but there’s a lot of potential here and I’m looking forward to going back.

Cleo’s serves up hearty, flavorful soul food that feels homemade and satisfying—think crispy fried chicken, creamy mac and cheese, and standout catfish. Service is friendly and efficient enough, though not especially fast. The main drawback is the space: it’s tight, a bit cramped, and not ideal for a relaxed dine-in experience. If comfort matters, takeout might be the better option.

I recently stopped by Cleo’s and tried The Float & Fly—and let me tell you, it was out of this world! The meal came with Classic Baked Macaroni & Cheese, Pineapple Candied Sweet Potatoes, Savory Green Beans, and their signature 24 Carat Gold Muffin, along with perfectly fried catfish and chicken. Every bite was top tier—the catfish and chicken were fried to perfection, the mac and cheese was creamy and flavorful, and those sweet potatoes and green beans were seasoned just right. The experience didn’t stop at the food, either. The Cleo’s team delivered excellent customer service, and even the fellow diners added to the good vibes. Everyone was raving about the food, creating a warm, upbeat atmosphere. Huge shoutout to Cleo’s for combining amazing food, friendly service, and great energy all in one place. I’ll definitely be back!

Hot Chi Chicken & Cones is a popular spot known for its delicious chicken tenders and sandwiches. The tenders are freshly cooked, juicy, and crispy with a variety of heat levels to choose from. Customers rave about the flavorful sauces that accompany the tender strips. The atmosphere is casual and fast-food-like, but the friendly staff adds to the overall experience. While some have noticed inconsistencies in the size and crispiness of the chicken in sandwiches, they still love the taste.
This was hands down one of the best #ChickenSpots I’ve ever been to! The chicken was juicy & flavorful! The different spice levels are on point! The salad was sooooo full! With proper proportions too! The meat to lettuce ratio is perfect and they use a good spring mix, not no cheap iceberg! The sandwich was huge! And saucy af... But not sloppy! The wings were perfectly seasoned & even without sauce, they were sooooo good! The Cheat Day Fries were loaded & the perfect blend of crispy and sauced! I wasn't a fan of the Peach Sweet Tea, but that Lemonade and the Watermelon Sugar was TOP TIER! The vibe was mellow & the music put me back to a time when I had no worries! 90's Hip Hop & R&B! Chicken sandwich was phenomenal. Pefect balance of spice and flavors. Fries crispy with a great dipping sauce. The worker at the register was named Kyle and he was very friendly, attentive, and patient explaining the menu. The tenders are great as well.

I got the cheat day fries and they were good wish it had more of a hot flavor I got mild chicken so did know how hot it would be but it had a sweet taste honey gold flavor. The girl that rang me up was dry and not welcoming and I said we were from out of town what did she recommend but the food was done fast and the atmosphere was nice. My only complaint was the box doesn't keep the food warm and I would go up a notch on the heat flavors.
LaToya J — Google review
Ordered tenders that were dry, overcooked, and cold. The food was not fresh or hot, despite ordering on a Sunday night during dinner service. (Prime time for most takeout places, especially chicken!) Even worse there is no contact option to call or email the store directly. I had to throw out the food, as I felt sick from eating even just part of one tender. The quality of their food is EXTREMELY inconsistent compared to the downtown stores. It seems store management doesn't care and that this is a persistent problem, considering other reviews. Luckily I was able to get a refund from the delivery app. Avoid this location.
Asha B — Google review
When I first walked and seen the menu I was ready to give the whole menu a try. The sandwiches I had were mild and hot but I didn't taste any seasoning. The mac n cheese wasn't a hit for me. The fries were okay. The corn was okay. The customer service was awesome she was surprised I order the whole menu but she had a great attitude. The fried chicken was pieces and too big.
Vanity J — Google review
The atmosphere is basic the tables an esthetic are wobbly definitely needs an upgrade. The service could have been better... me an my sister wanted to try and we ask the girl at the counter for insight on the spicy levels base on the description we got the low level of hot 🔥 which turned out wasn't hot it was sweet so we couldn't even finish the whole sandwich. Sandwich look good but was sweet not spicy.

Hot Chi Chicken & Cones is a game-changer. I grabbed the Hot Honey Butter Chicken Sandwich with crinkle-cut fries for $14, and it was fire. The chicken was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and that hot honey butter glaze? Straight up addictive. Fries were on point too—perfectly seasoned and crispy. Service was quick, and the vibe was chill. Definitely my new go-to spot for late-night eats.

The fried jumbo chicken wings is just amazing, crispy outside, juicy inside. I chose the Dak glaze, with soy sauce, honey and ginger. So good!

I got some wings with the dak sauce which were good bits not outstanding. Compared to other wings I have tried, I definitely think they are competitive in terms of size, flavor, originality, and quality. I was super full after eating three wings and their kimchi (which was delicious).

It's so interesting! I've never been to a restaurant like it before. The chicken wings are HUGE! They're the actual whole wing. The sauces are flavorful and the bowls are full of vegetables. Nothing tastes greasy or frozen. Would recommend!

Biggest wings we've ever seen! They were crispy and not drenched in soggy sauce but covered with the perfect amount. The spicy chicken rice bowl and bulgogi rice bowl were excellent too! Lots of veggies and a side of red pepper sauce that's addicting. My husband did have a bulgogi as an entree and wasn't impressed with the portions and lack of veggies but in Daks defense, it never said it came with veggies or additional foods, only rice and steak. Go with rice bowls!

The star of the show is their gourmet-style fried chicken, which comes in 4- or 8-piece dinners with large and satisfying sides and flavorful sauces. Their fried chicken sandwich is a powerhouse, featuring juicy chicken, fresh lettuce, tomato, pickles, and mayo on a soft bun.
Called in a last minute order because we were in the mood for a good chicken sandwich. First time trying this place and definitely won’t be the last. Great chicken sandwich, but the tenders were the best we have ever had. Huge size and absolutely delicious. Homemade bbq sauce was also great. Very friendly service coupled with awesome food!

GO HERE NOW! Seriously. We had Chicken Sandwich and a double burger and both were delicious. The chicken was BY FAR the best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had. Pure white meat cooked to perfection juicy and the breading was crunchy but not too crunchy. The sauce was the hot sauce which had a warmth but didn’t crush the flavors. It was divine. Buns were super soft and toasted. Owner was working and you knew he takes great pride in the quality of food and overall customer experience. Absolutely LOVED this place and will definitely be coming back and telling everyone. Go go go!

These baby back ribs are an actual hidden gem in Chicago because they’re literal meat candy. First off, the chicken sandwiches and the fried chicken had a good crunch, the chicken was juicy, but it wasn’t unique enough for me to say I would order it again. I think they’d be a hit if it was tossed in some sauce or maybe a lemon pepper dry rub. Onto the reasons why I would come back, the fire cracker rib bites were delicious and the fries were crispy. The baby back ribs are absolutely killer here, I love the sweet and Smokey dynamic. For a side I recommend the cheesy potatoes which were solid, and the dessert here I suggest trying Peach Cobbler cheesecake. Staff are super friendly!

Wow! Best fried chicken sandwich I've had in a long time. My wife had the 2 piece fried chicken and it was the perfect combination of juicy tender chicken with crispy crunchy crust. We also really enjoyed the side orders of fries, coleslaw, pit beans and cheesy potatoes. Highly recommend you check this place out if you're in the area.

Absolutely powerhouse of a fried chicken sandwich, but don’t sleep on the sides either! I got the original fried chicken sandwich and unlike other establishments it actually has lettuce, tomato, and pickle, with mayo as well. Bun was soft, chicken was juicy, and for such an easy concept it’s kind of a wonder so many places mess it up - but not North Branch. The sauces were very good, the mustard was dark, vinegary, and very flavorful while the BBQ was more sweet than spicy it did hit the spot. The slaw was very good, cold, creamy, and crunchy. The cheesy potatoes were also super good, they’re like steamed and the heat melts the cheese on top. Very little wait time for me, like 6 minutes during lunch hour, which is fantastic. Overall, I strongly recommend North Branch Fried Chicken!

Very impressed with this place! We ordered a two piece chicken meal with a side of cheesy potatoes and also a half slab of ribs. The chicken skin had a nice crunch and the meat was juicy and flavorful. The ribs were fall off the bone tender and had a good smoky flavor and the sauce was sweet yet savory. I am also a lover of mustard bbq sauce and the mustard bbq sauce here is the best I've ever had. Can't wait to return to try the chicken sandwich and burger! Update: Came back the next weekend and tried the Chicago Fried Chicken Sandwich and Chicken Tortilla Soup! 10/10 for both!

The chicken was really good, liked the flavor on it. The cornbread tasted like a corn tortilla with no flavor. And the caramel cake tasted extremely dry felt like a brick.

We ordered the crazy bird sandwich and the grilled chicken ciabatta sandwich. The grilled chicken was dry, ciabatta bread was hard, the condiments were not tasting good and overall hard to eat. The crazy bird barely had any meat on it. The only saving grace was the sides. The sweet potato and the Mac and cheese were pretty good. If you want good chicken go to Fry the Coop nearby. It was our first time visiting this neighborhood gem and it did not disappoint. The food was wonderful, the portions were generous and the service was attentive. The owners are right there to welcome you and make recommendations. It felt homey and welcoming. We had the combo with the beef ribs, pulled chicken and smoked sausage with fries and coleslaw. The beef ribs were outstanding. The pulled chicken was delicious as were the piping hot, crispy, well-seasoned fries. We also ordered the buffalo chicken Mac and cheese - delicious! We'll definitely be back to try their pulled pork, fried chicken and brisket.

I'm always on the quest for perfect fried chicken and I may have just found it. We drove from Indiana and it was well worth it. I have never had fried chicken so juicy, flavorful, and fried to perfection. I also had the greens, sweet potatoes, and macaroni and they were absolutely delicious. My husband had the chicken sandwich and it was humongous and packed with flavor. My little one's had chicken strips that were humongous as well. They are picky eaters and they gave their stamp of approval and even said they can't wait to come back🥰. The fries were perfect (I mean PERFECT). I also got a slice of hummingbird cake and it was UNBELIEVABLE 😍😍😍. The lady at the counter was super, super friendly and made us feel right at home. She was picking greens and it just made me think of my childhood 🥰. This place is family friendly and truly a treasure. I can't wait until next time. Thanks again Crazy Bird, your food and service was Crazy Good👏👏👏

The Chicken Shack in Evanston is known for its perfectly seasoned and expertly fried chicken. The breading strikes a perfect balance of salt and pepper, creating a delicious flavor. Guests can also enjoy the complexly spiced house BBQ sauce for dipping. While the owner may not be overly friendly, the customer service is polite and welcoming. The food is always cooked to order, hot, and fresh. Additionally, the mild sauce adds an extra layer of deliciousness to the tender and flavorful chicken.
The customer service is extremely polite and friendly. We felt very welcomed and my kids loved it too. Chicken was so tender and yummy 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Food is always good and fresh. One particular day , I called and ordered in. Guy on the phone was a bit irritated which is okay , picked up my food began to eat and a huge piece of hair was on my food. I have braids in my hair. I did not call and I don’t make a big deal about it cause they guy who gave me my food was bald but I’m not eating there ever again.

Great food. The owner isn't overly friendly but far from rude. Strong silent type. Food is always cooked to order. Prices are equivalent to other places in the area, but the food is always hot and fresh and that mild sauce...super delish!

The food is always good! I'm giving this place one star because when you use your credit card he add additional money to the card! He did it to my daughter. We let it go, I went there yesterday and he charged my card 2.00 more than what he was suppose to. This type of fraud is unacceptable!!!!!!!!!

I really wanted some chicken so I ordered a 1/2 white. Can I tell you I was very disappointed. The fries were hard and burned. And the chicken had no seasoning whatsoever. I wouldn’t recommend eating here.

You try to support these businesses, and the worker's are just never professional and unappreciative of your patronage. I've never been threatened over a wing dinner.... ridiculous! Maybe it's time for a new line of work, chicken seems much too hard for your worker's.

I'm sorry but this is the worst chicken I've ever had. quarter dark chicken had zero flavor and was way way overcooked burned French fries. I was really looking forward to the chicken now I'm very disappointed. will never go back again. Gross

Stopped in earlier for a 1/4 white. I was told the resturant didn't have any breast, that should be there later. The guy suggested if I wanted all wings in replace of the breast, I agreed. Now after ordering my wings w/ fries, I was told me 10 mins. He told me a total of $5.50 I gave him my debit card. He slide the chip in to complete transaction. Giving me a receipt which the total says $5.50. Now the credit card mechince is not connected to the cash register (it's slightly a 2-3 feet away) as he prepare my food I walk off to wait in my car.... Fast forward to few hours later. I check my bank statement see the tranaction from "The Chicken Shack" totaling $5.80. But why if you said $5.50?? Called the store to discuss my purchase earlier and I was told it was my bank fee. Which my exact words were I've NEVER been charged a service fee from the bank. I swipe or slide my chip in numerous restaurants never have I been charged a service fee in either resturant. Now I called the bank and they denied a service fee for me using my debit card. Smh. Instead of apologizing for the mishap blaim the bank. Yes I count and calculate every penny in my account. Never will I ever buy anything from this restaurant.

Smalls Smoke Shack is a cozy spot that serves up Filipino comfort food with a twist. Located in Chicago, this eatery offers both dine-in and take-out options for its patrons. While the city is known for its barbecue scene, Smalls Smoke Shack has made a name for itself by infusing Korean, Filipino, and Mexican flavors into their dishes.
Incredible food and great customer service! I felt like I was welcomed in to Joaquin's home. The fried chicken was perfectly crispy and tasted divine with the banana ketchup. The brisket was tender and smoky. Every vegetable was perfectly seasoned. I absolutely loved it.

I'm looking forward to becoming a regular at this shop, because my goodness, is it delicious! The fried chicken and the cheese fries are on point! Hands down some of the best fried chicken I've ever had... and I get around. That pepper crust makes me drool. Grilled texas toast? Brilliant! I'm not usually a fan of garlic, but even the rice was mouth watering! I can't wait to go back to try everything else. Thanks for the warm welcome to my new neighborhood!

Phenomenal food, for BBQ connoisseurs and fusion food fans alike. When I asked them what conventional BBQ items they sell, the answer was "very little of what we do here could be called conventional" - and that's 100% true! Essentially, this is a Filipino chef's take on American food, and the result is wonderful. Everything we tried was great, but I especially liked the Bi Bim Bop and the ribs. Very little sitting space, so order out. Must try.

I stumbled upon the Smalls Smoke Shack booth when I was at a Tasting Table event a few weeks ago - What an amazing discovery! The food simply blew me away! When I first walked into the room for the event, there was a wonderful smoky aroma in the air, and that delicious aroma was coming from Smalls - I made my way over to the booth and ordered the smoked chicken wings with coconut grits and green papaya slaw. The coconut grits was what really caught my attention. When I tasted them, they did not disappoint - my guess is that they used coconut milk. Creamy and delicious. The chicken wings were seasoned very well - smoky with a little bit of spice. They paired really well with the grits. I'm an instant fan and will be visiting the restaurant very soon.

Smalls. You definitely aren't guilty of false advertising. This place is SMALL. The food is pretty good though. I enjoyed the bi bim bop for it's unexpectedly smokey characteristics. The inside of this place smells great. It's a smoke shop and that smoker smell is fantastic. The chicken gets high ratings from others but I wasn't super impressed by it (also be prepared to wait 20 minutes or so for this if you order it). I was a bit surprised that they don't do an in-house kimchi but whoever they get to make it does a pretty good job. If smalls doesn't have any seats for you, the bar next door will seat you and you can have your food delivered there.
JDub Y — Google review
What a local gem of a barbecue house! Very knowledgable owner and chef combo, and their dishes are incredibly tasty and a new variety for our scene. I was also very impressed in speaking with each of them about their current gluten free abilities as well as an extended menu to come. smalls is a Fabulous addition to our local lunch and dinner scene.
Bill S — Google review
Small's offers residents of the up and coming Irving Park area a great BBQ alternative to the "big boy" on Pulaski. Their menu has some of your typical BBQ fare in addition to some excellent fried chicken. You can eat there if you want, but it's probably advisable to have your order delivered next door to Liquid Lizard's lounge to have grab some beverages with your BBQ meal. The guys that work there are super friendly and are very welcoming to new customers. Worth the trip if not from near by to get something a little unique to your typical BBQ joint.

Great little place on the North Side off Irving. Amazing Brisket. Go & try the Beets! I usually am not a huge fan of them but Smalls does them up right! Fried Beets I believe with a zippy sauce. Been there twice & they have yet to disappoint. Limited seating, so plan ahead. Non peak times may work better.

Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab is a renowned American restaurant that offers an upscale dining experience in a luxurious setting. As an offshoot of Miami's famous Joe Stone Crab, this Lettuce Entertain You-owned establishment is highly regarded as one of the city's favorite steakhouses. The restaurant boasts a vibrant atmosphere with attentive waitstaff serving sustainably caught chilled stone crab from Florida, complemented by Joes mustard sauce.
The food here is top-notch with seafood that tastes fresh and flavorful, and the steaks are cooked just right. The stone crab is definitely a highlight and worth trying if you visit. The atmosphere feels elegant yet comfortable, making it great for both special occasions and casual dining. Service is attentive without being overbearing, and everything comes out nicely presented. Prices are on the higher side, but the quality and experience make it worthwhile

Superb service - loved the treatment from the host to the waitstaff to the bartenders. I did not have a reservation so I sat at the bar. Everything was delicious: stone crab, green beans and stuffed mushrooms. Treated to a complimentary slice of key lime pie for dessert. Highly recommended! Five stars all around!

I’ve eaten at Joe’s dozens of times over the last 20 years, and every meal has been perfect. From the professional, polished service to the perfectly cooked food, this restaurant is a model for true hospitality. This is a temple of deliciousness. They do everything great but the crab bisque, seafood salad and key lime pie are standouts. I came here for their 25th anniversary menu and added their king crab supplement. The king crab was incredibly sweet and enormous. The whole meal was divine. Kudos to the whole staff for running this Chicago institution with continued excellence.

I ordered off the lettuce entertain you app. Food was delivered and tasted pretty good. Wasn’t hot but what do you expect when ordering delivery?! I forgot to mention I wanted cocktail sauce for my shrimp. So I called the store directly. The girl who answered the phone sounded skinny and professional. She was able to find my order before it was delivered and made sure I got that cocktail sauce. That’s what I call good service.

I would say by far this is one of the best steak restaurants in Chicago really great atmosphere. Once the staff heard our British accent they immediately got us a table which was much appreciated. Really enjoyed the food was amazing. Would definitely recommend and will be coming back.
Northwest S — Google review
This old-fashioned Chicago restaurant is famous for its stone crab and oysters, which is why we came. We reserved a table for five about two days in advance, but still had to wait around fifteen minutes for it to be cleaned after we arrived. Also, they only add you to the waitlist once your whole party is present. This is understandable, though, as the place was completely packed, yet the staff still managed everything in good order—so a short wait wasn’t a problem. The waiters, dressed in suits and carrying silver platters, spoke politely and carried themselves with old-school elegance, making us feel as though we had stepped back into the 1980s—the era when the restaurant first opened. They responded promptly to our requests: water refills were timely, and warm towels with fresh dessert plates were offered after the meal. We expected the stone crab to be served whole, but it came as chilled claws instead. They were very fresh and tasted wonderful with the special mustard sauce. The oysters, surprisingly small but fresh from Canadian waters, were good as well, though one of the accompanying sauces was overly sour. The waiter, who was very accommodating, kindly arranged for us to have half West Coast and half East Coast oysters. The seafood platter was slightly overcooked but still flavorful. For dessert, we ordered the Havana Dream Pie, which was delicious. Although the restaurant was a bit noisy, we could still carry on conversations comfortably. Overall, it was a pretty decent dining experience.

A true Chicago Institution. Went back to Joe’s for Lunch this afternoon and was absolutely blown away by the experience. From the incredible maitre d Eric, our amazing server Kelly and ofcourse the truly incredible meal. We got the Crab Bisque, Fish & Chips, Crab stuffed Shrimp and everything was delicious! Could not recommend more. True classic Chicago upscale dining experience!

Michael and Marissa were amazing. Our server surprised my sister with a Happy Halloween birthday treat. It was her first visit to Joes, my favorite restaurant. Marissa, the manager, came over to help us with the new scan and pay system. My sister said the food was incredible, but what really stood out was the experience. Even the wait staff kept our table spotless with no dirty dishes left behind. So blessed to have the restaurant down the street from me.

Steak house
Bavette's Bar & Boeuf is an elegant steakhouse offering a New American menu in a sophisticated ambiance of wood and brick. The restaurant stands out for its top-quality steaks, but it also offers exceptional non-steak entrees like fried chicken and lamb chops. The speakeasy atmosphere, 1920s jazz music, and Parisian-inspired decor create a unique dining experience. The cozy yet lively setting makes it popular among couples seeking a social dining environment.
Now this may be my new favorite restaurant. I’ve been on a mission to try all Hogsalt restaurants ever since I tried Trivoli Tavern for the first time last year. Bavette’s is taking it!! Visited last night and tried the salmon Caesar which is pretty consistent across all Hogsalt restaurants (I’ve tried it at Gilt Bar & Trivoli as well and it’s always phenomenal), the wagyu steak tartare, the burger and the ribeye steak frites. 10s across the board! I also loved the moody lighting and the service was absolutely fantastic. I also appreciate how they always give ice cream for special occasions! Can’t recommend it enough. I’d be back here multiple times a month if it weren’t so expensive lmao
Courtney J — Google review
This was my second visit to Bavette Bar & Boeuf, and it was just as great as I remembered from the first time I dined here. The dry-aged bone-in ribeye was outstanding, perfectly cooked and brushed with a rich mix of compound butter and bone marrow that added incredible depth and flavor. The sides were just as memorable. The truffle mac and cheese was the star of the table, while the creamed spinach with Gorgonzola was a close runner-up, creamy, bold, and perfectly balanced. The mashed potatoes were smooth and buttery, with roasted garlic cloves adding a nice contrast of texture and sweetness. To finish, the caramel gelato was absolutely decadent. The perfect ending to another exceptional meal. Bavette Bar & Boeuf continues to deliver on every level. Highly recommend for anyone who appreciates top-quality steaks and thoughtful, well-crafted sides.

We had an absolutely cozy and romantic vibe here. Even though it was busy, the place was quiet and very comforting. Service was exceptional and our waiter was very welcoming and polite. The oysters were to die for. Filet mignon and the skirt steaks were so juicy and delicious. Truffle Mac n cheese and creamy spinach melted in our mouths! Everything was so so so good! Thank you Bavettes!

Food is a 9/10. Sizzling shrimp scampi slightly overcooked (it comes sizzling, so it's still cooking, with forgettable pieces of garlic bread). Wedge salad was amazing. Crab cake was incredible. Ordered the petite filet mignon and dry-aged bone-in Ribeye. Both were excellent. Truffle Mac & cheese and buttery mashed potatoes. Chocolate creme pie for dessert. Service is outstanding; our server was knowledgeable about everything we asked. Never felt rushed. $500 out the door with tip. Took 3 weeks to get a table for 2 in the dining room. Going to Bavettes seems to be a rite of passage for those who love trying all the best restaurants in Chicago. Overall a wonderful experience.

What can I say about this place? Go here and have a great time, good steak (and bone marrow), delicious wine, and a delicious chocolate cream pie. Sat at the bar and had the Lyonnaise Salad and glass of the table red (tempranillo) to start. Followed by ribeye steak frites with bone marrow. The steak was tender and expertly spiced and the bone marrow was buttery heaven. Finishing off the meal with chocolate cream pie was delightful, and proved to be too much food for one person! To accompany the amazing food was the great service and dark atmosphere - transports you to a jazzy and moody experience - perfect for a steak house. Loved the friendly and attentive bartenders. Recommended.

Delicious food, wonderful service. Thank you, Meredith and to the manager. Came here for my anniversary and we were taken care of in the parlor. Ordered the baked goat cheese which kind of reminded me of shakshuka, and the mixed green salad with apples, and steak frites (American Wagyu) with a garlic enhancement. I really enjoyed my dinner here and would go back. They paid great attention to detail and brought us delicious vanilla ice cream to celebrate our day. It was also delicious and you could taste the fresh vanilla bean. I’ll be back!

Sigh. Bavette’s. I miss you. We definitely ordered too much and I regret nothing. One of the best meals of my life. We started with the wedge salad - chopped up for ease and the BACON! So so delicious. It was thick cut and a bit sweet and absolute perfection. Paired well with the crab avocado salad. Crab cake was moist and the accompanying sauce was so tasty we saved it for the fries. The highlight of the meal, by and far, was the 42-day dry aged ribeye. I’ve never had steak so incredible before. I don’t like steak. But I LOVED this one. Every bite made me pause and contemplate how beautiful life is. The depth of flavour and marbling was just. Ugh. Get it. The double Wagyu burger was well done too, but we honestly did not need to add both the bacon and egg. We were visiting from out of town and in a food frenzy, it was a bit too rich with all of it. Maybe just the bacon, or just the egg, but it didn’t really need both. Obviously still ate it all. The sides were fantastic, the Brussels sprouts paired well and the truffle Mac was very truffley. I couldn’t breathe very easily by the end of the meal, so we got the carrot cake to go. I’m SO glad we did, it was divine. Service was professional, not very warm but fine. You can tell it’s a well oiled machine and that they’re used to being incredibly busy. Loved loved loved it 🩷🩷

I had a horrible experience at this restaurant. We paid $300, and the food was very, very low quality. I was really excited because it was supposed to be fine dining with high quality food, but instead it was below average and it even made my stomach hurt afterward. The burgers were below average (Shake Shack is way better) The chicken was also below average; it felt like I was eating at Cheesecake Factory, and honestly even Cheesecake Factory is better. Don’t set your expectations high for this restaurant. I genuinely feel like I was scammed 😂

Located in the heart of Chicago's business district, Prime & Provisions Steakhouse offers a luxurious setting with marble bars and a patio for cigars. While it is known for its classic steak offerings, the restaurant also caters to non-meat eaters with hearty vegetarian starters like Butternut Squash Soup and Harvest Salad. The Blackened Cauliflower Steak is prepared with the same care as their beef dishes.
We thoroughly enjoyed the excellent service; the server truly enhanced our dining experience. The steak was cooked to perfection and incredibly juicy, and the dessert was remarkably delicious. The coffee was also very good. We anticipate returning to sample other dishes, and overall, we would rate our experience as 4.7 stars.
Diego C — Google review
If you are looking for a Chicago steakhouse that understands both style and substance, Prime & Provisions delivers with confidence. Our group dined here on a Tuesday evening, and the restaurant had that rare energy of a place that buzzes without ever feeling rushed. While we requested a wall table or booth, we were seated at a center-floating table. Not ideal, but we settled in and soon forgot about it thanks to the attentive service and well-paced flow of the evening. We started with their bread service, a nice warm-up act before diving into appetizers like the tuna tartare. But the real show began with the steak. We ordered a few of their wagyu filet options—including the Sanuki Olive-fed cut—and it was a knockout. Rich, tender, deeply marbled, and beautifully cooked. One of the best expressions of wagyu I have experienced stateside. The porterhouse was also exceptional, a true showcase of technique and sourcing. Sides included Brussels sprouts with bacon and a few other staples, all served family style and executed with care. The meal ended with a dessert spread that was generous and indulgent, highlighted by a tres leches that leaned more custard than cake—in the best possible way. Classic Chicago steakhouse ambiance meets modern culinary finesse. If you want to impress a client, celebrate a promotion, or simply eat very well, this is a confident choice. Just be sure to ask twice for the booth.

As food lovers visiting from New Orleans.. this restaurant far exceeded all our expectations. Beautifully designed and comfortable dining. The servers, Mike especially, were all so accommodating and lovely to have taking such good care of us. BUT the food was magnificent, prepared with perfection and such a delight. They offered some amazing steak options all the way from wet aged, dry aged for 45 days in house and Japanese A5 wagyu. Spectacular!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Prime & Provisions – Chicago What an incredible dining experience! From the moment we walked up, Prime & Provisions was absolutely stunning and beautiful to walk to in the heart of downtown Chicago. The vibe was a perfect blend of luxe lounge and joyful energy. The design is amazing. From the elegant peacock feather wall behind the hostess desk to the light fixtures and rounded booths, every detail felt intentional and elevated. Our serving team was the best. They were friendly, approachable, funny, and knowledgeable, which made the evening flow perfectly. Now the food… OMG. Presentation: 10 Flavor: 10 Temperature: 10 Selection: 10 We started with East Coast oysters served with a mignonette that had a subtle hint of ginger (to me) and the freshest horseradish. The tomahawk lamb chops were cooked to perfection and served with lavender salt, grilled garlic, and rosemary. Absolutely delicious. And yes, they have mocktails. Real mocktails, not just juice. Each one was creative and well balanced. From ambiance to flavor, service to design, Prime & Provisions easily ranks as one of my favorite dining experiences in Chicago. I left full, happy, and completely impressed.
LaToya J — Google review
Restaurant on the posh side and food was yummy, but pricy. We ordered a tomahawk ribeye for $250.. but I believe the taste for the price was mediocre. Their desserts on the other hand was way reasonable($15). We ordered Smokey s’mores and loved it.. the presentation and the taste.

One caveat, we were there for lunch and thus did not get full entrees. With that being said, everything was on point and I will definitely come back. The cheesesteak sandwich was the star!!! It was unlike any I have ever had. It was amazing and was served with thick cut yummy fries. This is a must have if you are there for lunch. The Brussels sprouts had this incredibly prepared pork belly in it that took the dish to the next level. The crab cake was meaty and nicely seasoned. The sear was not quite complete but all and all worth a try. The Pièce de résistance was the s’mores dessert. It was as beautiful as it was delicious. A true work of art. Our server was knowledgeable, professional and attentive but not intrusive. The vibe is upscale but approachable. The place sits right on Wacker across from the river so it’s a nice location. They seem to have a nice bar scene.

Lillie's Q is a charming restaurant with a rustic ambiance that offers a wide selection of BBQ meats, Southern dishes, and housemade moonshine cocktails. The menu features an extensive variety of entrees, appetizers, sides, and drinks. It stands out among Chicago's barbecue spots for its diverse offerings. Chef Charlie McKenna leads the kitchen and has earned accolades in competitive barbecue events. Lillie's Q also operates within District Brew Yards alongside local breweries.
It's been a long while since I've been at this District Brew Yards location and I don't remember Lillie's Q. Pictured here is a Pimento Cheese Sausage Link ($8 and a style I've never tasted before 5/5), half a pound of Brisket ($17, probably one of the best I've had 5/5), both come with a side of onions and pickles, and ordered sides of Coleslaw ($4, dry, not creamy 3/5) and Mac & Cheese ($6, which was average 2.5/5). Not a huge fan of how the BBQ sauce packets came, pictured here - opted for Hot Smoky and Smoky Barbecue Sauce. A bit pricey but was filling. Would like to try the Tri-Tip, Hot Link, and Chicken Wings next visit.

One of my top 5 Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwiches. Out of close to 30 by now. Enough heat to make me sweat with flavor that kept me eating!
Matt M — Google review
The kitchen of District Brewyard known chiefly for their chicken. It was a mixed experience for us. While the Fried chicken sandwich (Nashville Hot) was pretty good with a crunchy patty complemented by some savory slaw, the smoky wings (buffalo sauced) were way too salty. Place has a good vibe. Would probably have given another star if this was review for the brewery.

I would NOT recommend. This is NOT authentic BBQ. I ordered the brisket and the pulled pork. While the quality of meat is good, the meat is NOT smoked. I did not taste ANY smoke flavor either liquid or authentic. The meat did not have a ring. I enjoy the roasted meat, but this is NOT BBQ by my southern standards. I have 2/5 stars because the western NC sauce and pickles were good.

Delicious BBQ! Everything we ordered was awesome! Beef Brisket, Pulled pork sandwiches, Tri Tip , and ribs with sides offried, mac & cheese & their Grits were especially amazing with fresh bacon on top!! Nice outdoor patio seating, and their bar area is also very nice!! They make all their own bbq sauces and slow bbq all their meats!! Nice selection of micro brews on tap and in bottles. I had a craft margarita which was delicious!! Great waitstaff too!! I will be back!!

What a weird weird place, they took pour your own beer and counter order bbq and put them together. The sauce is all pre packaged. Why. It was delicious though. Five stars. Great back patio/parking lot.

The food was delicious. They have happy hour food and beer specials. Plus daily food specials. I got the chicken wings w/side of mac n cheese. My husband got the brisket poor boy, mac n cheese, and Cole slaw. Big portions, we had left overs. They take reservations, we didn't make any and were able to get seated right away on a Friday night. It got busier as the night went on. Friendly server, explained all the different bbq sauces on the table and what they would be good with. Street parking can be hard to find.

Restaurant
HaiSous Vietnamese Kitchen in Pilsen offers a blend of family recipes, urban street food, and modern cocktails. The restaurant strikes a balance between casual and upscale with its polished, modern aesthetic and a menu featuring traditional Vietnamese dishes with a creative twist. From impeccably crisp chicken wings to fragrant Bun Cha Hanoi, the menu showcases lesser-known items alongside familiar favorites.
My third visit, and it never disappoints! The food is absolutely delicious — from the fresh veggies to the perfectly cooked meats and seafood, every bite was bursting with flavor. The cocktails were just as impressive! I loved the Wagyu beef fat–washed lemongrass cocktail! Great bartenders, great vibes. Highly recommend this spot.

I came here for an anniversary dinner and it was a very solid meal! We ordered the Grand Tasting Menu and each of the courses came complete and were incredibly filling. We came expecting smaller portions for the tasting menu but we left very full. The appetizers were all pretty good, but the salad with guava was a standout! It was delightfully diverse in it's flavor profile with a little sweet a little salty and a little spicy. Truly delicious. The other standout for the meal for was the whole fish on the tasting menu. It was the perfect size for two people and the seafood sauce it came in was delicious. The service could be improved. We arrived early for a 7:00p reservation and it was dead- maybe one or two tables filled. The hostess gave us the option of sitting at the kitchen counter (views of the kitchen) which we politely declined and then she proceeded to sit us directly next to a couple already dining. The restaurant did fill up quickly but it quickly made what could have been an intimate atmosphere into feeling like we were eating in a food hall. The server we had was very very knowledgeable and charming but he was covering way too large of a section to be attentive. We sat with empty water glasses several times and even after we got a second round of cocktails, sat with the empty first round on the table. At one point I dropped my silverware and it took nearly 10 minutes for me to flag down the server to get a new setup. Again, very kind folks, but understaffed for the amount of customers that they had.

We stopped in for a quick bite after a long drive from Michigan and were pleasantly surprised. The food was fresh, well-prepared, and full of flavor. Each dish had a nice depth and balance without being too heavy, and I found myself eating a bit too quickly because it was so satisfying. The Golden Sun cocktail had a refreshing citrus note with just the right kick from the ghost pepper, pairing nicely with the savory dishes. The cream puffs at the end were a fun bonus and the best I’ve had in a long time. If I lived nearby, I’d be coming back all the time.

Honestly very disappointing experience, the restaurant had a nice vibe, and I went with my partner for our anniversary dinner. I made an early reservation for happy hour, however we were told only upon arrival that it was only at the bar. We didn't mind and moved to sit at the bar, however we were forced by the host to move to a different area of the bar even though the restaurant was empty and it was 5pm, if someone had wanted to sit in the same space, we would've moved, but since it was empty it just felt a bit much. The hostess was constantly giving us attitude and it was starting to bother me, like she didn't want us to have a good experience. In addition, no one ever wished us a happy anniversary, which I noted on the reservation and thought it was something that at least would be brought up on arrival. The bartender was kind but obviously wasn't as trained on service as the main staff may be and didn't ask us for dietary preferences, so we ended up with a dish with meat that was meant to be vegetarian. The papaya salad was ok, it needed more seasoning and didn't have any spice at all. The crab fried rice was pretty good, but was missing some depth of flavor or richness that could've been better with a fried egg on top or something of the sort. The highlight was the emperor noodles with crab, which was my favorite dish and was rich, garlicky, and buttery with a strong crab flavor. Finally, as we left the host didn't even acknowledge us as I said thank you, while we left which honestly left a bad taste in my mouth. Front of house service was especially disappointing and as much as I wanted to enjoy this experience, I found myself let down on so many fronts. Having worked in food service at similarly priced high-quality establishments, I really expected better.
Ilise A — Google review
The food, ambience, service everything was incredible. Best dishes of our night - octopus salad, grilled oysters, grilled eggplant, garlic butter prawns and crab fried rice. The chicken wings were delicious too. The Vietnamese curry was flavorful and had the right amount of sweetness and zest to it. The whole fried fluke by itself was okay (not great). We could have skipped the fish. We were a group of 4 and ordered 8 dishes to share. Lucky we got to try multiple dishes as a group. The restaurant was surprisingly packed by the time we started our courses despite it being very easy for us to get reservations.
Nisha J — Google review
In my experience the workers were friendly. Food was great except some dishes were different from what you tasted like the papaya salad. Not saying it was bad but different. Everything else was good especially the Japanese whiskey old fashioned.
Teukii M — Google review
If you are Vietnamese or Asian, save your time and skip this place. The food was under seasoned, underwhelming, and way too pricey for what you get. We ordered the papaya salad, chicken wings, the meat platter with the extra wagyu add on, and the crab fried rice. Everything was bland. All the meats on the platter tasted identical with the same flat seasoning. The textures were all the same and some pieces were overly chewy. The extra 26 dollars for the wagyu was a waste since it had no flavor and was tough. Overall, the food was below mid. You are better off going to Chinatown where you can get something cheaper and actually flavorful.
Mai N — Google review
Had dinner here with my husband. Everything we ordered were delicious - the guava salad, wagyu, grilled octopus, curry, grilled eggplant and the emperor’s noodle. Our server, Izzy, was amazing. She answered all our questions about the menu, and gave recommendations. We will be back!

Daley's Restaurant is a historic diner that has been in operation since 1892, making it one of the oldest restaurants in the city. Although it relocated across the street in 2019, it continues to serve up a variety of homestyle classics and soul food.
This was an essential stop! A must-eat on our trip to Chicago! The biscuits and gravy were delicious and the bacon was perfectly crispy. Huge portions! Excellent service! Beautiful restaurant! Definitely planning to come back on our next trip!

Daley’s is a great diner with an extensive menu. I settled on trying the tuna melt and my friend tried the fried wings. The tuna melt was great and the dill in the tuna salad added a good herbal note. The fries were also done well. The chicken wings were done well, although my friend said they could have been more heavily seasoned. Both meals were a good deal for the price in my opinion. The staff was professional and the interior was comfortable and clean.

This spot is a longtime favorite that serves hearty, comforting meals from morning to night. The menu has a wide variety, with everything from breakfast plates to classic American dishes. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and the service is warm and welcoming. It has that classic neighborhood feel that keeps people coming back.

So my brother in law to my 91yo mom, myself and my 2 sisters out for brunch and it was delicious! He ordered Chicken and waffles, one sister ordered chicken and pancakes, mom ordered eggs, hash browns and catfish, my other sister ordered shrimp and grits with biscuits and I had the wing meal with scrambled eggs with pepper jack cheese and grits with cheddar cheese and wheat toast and coffee with hazelnut cream. EVERYTHING I ORDERED was perfection? Everyone completely and thoroughly enjoyed their food. Our server TANGIE was absolutely the best! She was attentive, accommodating and her recommendations were spot on…those chicken wings are REPEAT worthy. They were seasoned to perfection, crispy, crunchy, juicy and they looked so good they were almost too beautiful to eat…but of course we annihilated them! Actually we all had left overs, plenty! A special shout out to Brian who helped bring the food out. A very nice fella and ALL the staff from entry to exit were professional and personable. I highly recommend this spot on the south side of Chicago.

I really enjoy eating at Daley’s. My favorite is breakfast Catfish fillets , scrambled eggs, potatoes and biscuits. Tge portions are generous,, 2 catfish cooked perfectly, the biscuits are big and delicious. My only concern is that the service is not good. The servers do not act like they are at all happy to serve you, I had to ask for refills on coffee, the server took our order, and did not check on us. I keep supporting this restaurant because it is in the neighborhood, and the food is good, but please ask the servers to at least smile. I usually tip well, but can I at least get a smile, and a refill on my coffee. Can the servers at least act like they are happy to serve you. I want to recommend friends here, but please be professional and more engaging with your customers.

I ordered the t-bone, medium rare, and over easy eggs with hash browns. Also a cheddar and bacon burger with fries. The t-bone is not edible... it's chewy and rubbery...as if it was cooked too much, but it has the correct amount of pink you'd expect for medium rare. I got exhausted just trying to cut through the steak and never tried to taste it. The hash browns were not seasoned. The eggs were not seasoned. The burger was ok, bacon was crisp, but the lettuce they used was brown and wilted, so I tossed that out. Fries were not seasoned. This is my first at this place, but there's no reason to try it again. I mean... if they can't be bothered to salt and pepper their food, I can't be bothered to give them my money.

Restaurant
Peach's Restaurant is a cozy American eatery known for its Southern staples, especially for breakfast and lunch. Located near the 47th Street stop on the Green Line, this spot offers a delightful blend of sweet and savory flavors. The restaurant has gained popularity since its opening in 2015, offering dishes like shrimp and grits or 7-Up pancakes. While some visitors have praised the tasty food and friendly service, others have experienced longer wait times for their orders.
This place is simply fabulous! The food is so delicious, I would drive from Milwaukee just to go there for breakfast. I have not ordered anything that was not fantastic. The food is seasoned and cooked to perfection! I highly recommend the duck bacon. As someone who does not eat pork, it is a fantastic substitute for pork bacon. Their turkey bacon is also very tasty, and usually don't care for turkey bacon.

When I asked my mom what she thought of Peach’s, she didn’t hesitate “10/10.” She had woken up craving grits, and after a bit of research, I chose Peach’s as the spot for us during our annual mother + daughter trip. We arrived shortly after opening and only waited about five minutes, as there was a couple ahead of us placing a to-go order. Once they were finished, we were greeted warmly, and a gentleman at the bar even walked over to welcome us and show us to our seats. He was kind, friendly, and seemed genuinely excited to have us there. The restaurant itself was clean and well-kept. Our server, Tamarra, was outstanding personable, knowledgeable about the menu, and truly happy to be helping us. We ordered the Peach’s Special: two eggs with chicken sausage, grits, and pancakes. Our food came out quickly, piping hot, and absolutely delicious. I also tried their peach coffee, which was unique and so good that I plan to order some online. Overall, Peach’s delivered on every level: great food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere. (And yes! we did ask about Obama!)

1st time visiting this establishment today an I must say the shrimp an grits was good. The banana rum french toast flight was good as well. I gave 3 stars because the customer service was terrible. How do you seat someone then forget about them? After being seated for 20 mins I had to ask one of the servers was anyone going to take my order anytime soon right after I seen them attend to a Caucasian group of men who came in right after me. They were quickly seated and greeted upon arrival an I was sitting right next to them waiting on someone to take my order. The food was good but I had better and the customer service sucked, the servers made me feel like I didn’t matter but was quick to attend to the white men. I will not be returning!

Our first time going and it was very good. Service was wonderful. Our server, Autumn was attentive and pleasant. We did have an exceptionally long wait for our food because the kitchen was behind. However food was good. The only critique would be to take the tails off of shrimp in the Shrimp and Grits. Will definitely return soon!!

Beautiful location very nice helpful staff. The Mr loved his shrimp n grits, our juices were so good. Tried the strawberry lemonade and peach! Lost a star for my unseasoned home fries it made the rest of the dish bland. But overall I'd definitely give another try a lot of options on the menu

Visited Peach's for a nice Sunday breakfast with my partner, he's been a few times by himself and had a great time every time. Seemed like a nice place, very clean and quiet inside, and hostess was friendly...server never showed up. We were one of maybe three or four tables with people there, so it wasn't busy, and the table in front of us had excellent service...but we were completely ignored. Waited a half an hour, didn't even get a "We'll be right with you" or anything. No acknowledgement. We left. Very disappointed.

I visit here as often as I can. Today was the first time my order wasn't ready by the time I arrived. I always arrive 10 minutes after the quoted time. And when I arrived I was asked to wait another 5/10 minutes. The manager apologized and I received a complimentary coffee for my wait and inconvenience. When I arrived home I realized my chicken thighs on the Hangover plate were now wings. I looked at the receipt and it says SUB wings. I'm thinking I know I wouldn't do that because I order the hangover plate because of the chicken thighs. No mess. No fuss. So I called to speak to the manager and inform her what happened. She offered to make what I ordered the correct way when I return. Overall I was pleased with the way the manager handled my complaint and my missing or incorrect order. 🫶🏾

Lucy's is a fast-casual eatery that pays homage to the spicy women of 1960s America. The straightforward menu features fried chicken, burgers, fries, and milkshakes. It's a good, cheap, veggie-friendly restaurant with plenty of brunch options and delicious vegan French toast. The Juicy Lucy Burger is a standout item filled with cheese for an extra flare. Visitors praise the friendly staff and ample parking outside.
I’m a huge fan of the Bacon Jam Smash Burger. I like it with two patties and (of course) bacon. The whole thing comes together like an umami bomb going off in my mouth. A perfect combination of sweet and savory. If you’re on the fence about what to order, try it! And I like to get the fried pickles on the side; the pickles are still crispy, the breading is delicious and the sauce is spicy good.

I ordered their fries, chicken sandwich with bacon jam, and the mac. Everything was an absolute 10/10!!! The garlic aioli sauce was amazing and paired well with everything. This was my first time dining from here, but it surely won’t be my last!

Phenomenal deliciousness! There are not enough words to describe just how good Lucy’s food is….My husband & I got smash burgers, the beer onion cheddar & the bacon jam smash burger (make sure you get that extra patty!), plus fries & a chocolate shake (worth every calorie!). Oh my, so delectable. Everyone working there was wonderful, which was a nice bonus. Give Lucy’s Fried Chicken & Smash Burgers a try……you will NOT be disappointed. We look forward to going back!

The cashier was helpful in describing the sandwiches and when my bacon jam chicken sandwich come out to the table I thought it was CM Punk's next opponent!! Just a gigantic thing of beauty on a fresh bun and the beer cheese fries delivered like a mailman in inclement weather!! Great decor and music! Lucy's isn't a vibe it is the vibe!!

Been here twice in the last few weeks. Tried the spicy chicken and smash burger, both were fantastic! The breading on the chicken was super crispy and delicious! I got the BLT smash burger and that was so flavorful and filling! Service was quick and there's ample seating, but maybe that's just depending on the time you go. 10/10 would come back again soon!

The good and customer service was OUTSTANDING. Delicious burgers and fries and the fried chicken sandwich was good too. I'd like other options than all fried food; so Lucy's is a every now and then restaurant for me. One negative, the place needed more detailed cleaning of the tables, floor and the women's bathroom. But otherwise, I'd rate Lucy's a 3+ out of 5 and I'd definitely go back.

God this place rocks! My girlfriend is pescatarian and she swears by the impossible burgers they sell here. And as someone who eats a lot of burgers I can promise quality here. Convenience store
Phodega is a unique concept in Wicker Park, combining a Vietnamese pho restaurant with a small convenience store offering Asian snacks and packaged foods. The food menu features delicious bowls of pho, rice dishes, banh mi, and fried chicken skins. The market section offers a variety of items such as paper towels, air fresheners, and even salted egg-flavored Lays potato chips. The restaurant's broth-based pho is a must-try, available with fresh beef or chicken.
One of my new favorite restaurants of Chicago. Being Vietnamese and a first generation in America, this spot spoke out to my soul in terms of the food and the vibe. They blend it so well and made it authentic to who they were growing up and who they are today. The dip sandwich was crazy good. I never had something like that before. The sandwich itself is great on its own and when you dip it, it becomes 10x better. The waitress spoke highly of their regular fries, and it was sneakily really good. A slept on item that you wouldn’t expect to stand out at a Vietnamese shop. Everything about this place is fun, exciting and just overall cool. Hope the best for the Phodega business. I look forward to my next visit there.

It’s a cute place that makes you feel like you’re out of Chicago getting street food! It’s a cool vibe with so many posters, stickers, and international food items. Their menu has the classic phở options and some chicken or beef rice dishes as well and a fridge stocked full of sparkling water, Japanese sport drink, and some canned teas. The crispy chicken was fine I am not a fan of dark meat though and it came with a soup that wasn’t listed on the menu so I’m not sure what it was. Unfortunately though, and I did not let the owner know sorry, we did find a hair in the beef, just wanted to advise.

Here’s what I ordered - viet dip; hands down best sandwich in town! Dipping my sandwich in the juice is just too tier. The bread so soft and the meat is tender. - NOT BUN BO HUE
(SPICY LEMONGRASS BEEF SOUp); it’s spicy so be prepared but it’s so delicious and packs so much flavor. If you are hungover or sick this will clear anything taking you out lol. - Vietnamese style eggrolls combo that was shrimp and pork; the pork has great flavor and they are not greasy - Marinated Pork Belly Banh Mi; the sandwich meat is tender and great taste. The jalapeños give it a nice kick but it’s not spicy. - Korean Style Dumplings; they are fried not greasy, delicious, the flavor was so good I ate it without the side sauce they gave me. the customer service is amazing. Good people and inviting atmosphere. They play good music so it’s a vibe. The space is small and cozy so expect a wait if it’s busy. Overall this place is phenomenal.

I ordered their beef pho (would’ve gone for the oxtail, but they were out) and it was really flavorful and comforting. I also split the Phodega Fries with a friend—loaded and deliciously messy in the best way. He went with a chicken and rice dish, which was also solid. The atmosphere is casual and fun, with a cool bodega vibe, and the staff were friendly and attentive.
Jennifer T — Google review
Highly recommend. I had already taken a few bites when I decided to take a picture so there was 3 or 4 more pieces of chicken on the plate than this. Both the boiled and fried chicken were flavorful on their own but the 3 sauces that I believe were ginger, soy and some type of tangy spice added greatly to the already delicious meal. Even the clear broth soup was amazing. All the staff was really nice and helpful. The music was a little loud inside for me but if I had sat outside or I hadn't just woken up I would not have minded. The decor was fun and well themed.
Victoria T — Google review
Delicious! There's items on this menu is love and others that are great, and then good. Like most places. Love the atmosphere, great location with friendly staff. It's kinda a little store on the inside with neat finds. When paying the bill we also picked up some Uber cookies. One of my fave things. The stand out dish tho... the chicken skins! I've never had anything to crispy and tasty. I wanted to take some home. The broths, or soups, are packed with flavor and they are hands down a winner. Can't go wrong. The beef dip they're semi-known for was just good. Chicago is a hard city to compare that. Id say skip that dip & do everything else. Especially dessert! And it's BYO! Gotta love that, makes it great for any occassion.

From check in to valet, this place delivers. Had a wonderful experience here with my family. Staff were professional and very helpful. Really enjoyed breakfast here. Location is great for access to millennium park and much more. There is a lot of competition in the city in this category and the CAA really stands out for the heritage and also professionalism of the team. I’m semi local and will definitely be returning. Don’t forget that you can’t valet park on Michigan Ave, need to access from E Madison - easy if you’re thinking ahead.

I just achieved Discoverist Status with Hyatt so was very excited to see the upgrade we got with our stay three nights in October for a wedding. Our room was tucked in a corner, no closet, no dresser, no counter space in bathroom, and no cell phone service… as in my phone said “SOS.” I am astonished this is a 4 star hotel and had good reviews because this is anything but a good hotel. I have photos of our room view (air conditioner vents and other buildings) and our desk 1 hanging clothes area because there is legit no closet, I walked to the front after check in asking if they had actually seen the room we were staying in and without acknowledging yes or no, stated this is their standard room. We paid nearly $600 per night. Why would anyone ever stay here over a 4.5 or 5 star hotel? This entire building needs major renovations. Location is across the street from Millenium Park but there are so many better hotels in the general vacinity. Lastly, the WI-FI was the only way we had service or streaming in our room and it was down an entire day. On our last night, the AC would not work, was 75 degrees in our room in October - they told Us they would send a fan up and we could open the windows. Finally, after we had fallen asleep - an engineer knocked on our door and was able to take the ac unit apart and fix the issue. We had high hopes but we will never stay here again. I’m growing more and more concerned with Hyatt’s brand and what they’re offering as a whole.

Stayed here for five days on a work trip. The architecture and overall atmosphere of the hotel were great — it really captures that classic old Chicago vibe. The room was fine, and the housekeeping staff were excellent — friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The only issue I had was with the level of service in the lounge and Game Room. We were given cards for a complimentary glass of bubbly, but after being seated, no one came by for about 20 minutes. Later that night, I stopped by the game room bar and was … just… ignored. I guess it was more important to dry the glasses then ask me if I needed something. Another guy was standing there next to me with a menu hoping to order food. We both gave up and left. Cindy’s on the roof is great. Service was good and the view of the park was incredible.

Absolutely one of the best hotel experiences ever! I travel a lot...and the crew at L7 Chicago is top notch. From Antonio in Valet to Alex who checked me in and ensured I had access to everything I needed for my business trip. View of the city from the room are amazing. Location is perfect if you don't want to rent a car. 10/10 recommend and will def be back! (Except that one building lol)

What a great hotel! The lobby and game room are so beautiful. The room service is good. Also has phenomenal restaurants on site. This is such a great opportunity! I'm not one to visit the same location twice (life is short) but I would make an exception for this one!

I stayed here from Nov 4–9. Everything was great until the last night. My husband and I wanted to explore the hotel’s beautiful public areas, but when we reached the 8th floor around 7:50 PM, a large man in a black suit (security) aggressively blocked us with his arms and told us “wrong floor” in a very rude and threatening way. There was no sign saying the floor was closed for a private event, and his attitude was completely unprofessional and intimidating. It honestly ruined the end of our stay. If you enjoy exploring historic hotels, I wouldn’t recommend staying here. :(
Ovalentinaa E — Google review
Just don’t bother to be honest, right now you regularly have to wait up to ten (!!!!) minutes for the elevator because one of them is broken. That means to go up to your room and back down it could be twenty!!! minutes round trip. The other set of lifts don’t go to many of the floors. Even if both are working they are still slow. Unless you want to spend a large majority of your trip waiting to go up and down in the building. Staff mentioned that they have been broken for a while. The staff are friendly enough but it’s not worth it, just stay somewhere else. The building in general is a bit run down and not that well maintained. Also the wifi is shit and the toiletries are all man scented
Anna C — Google review
Just left a two night stay here and wanted to make a point to shoutout everyone who worked these past two days… every single person we interacted with in the hotel was very kind and accommodating. They made a point to put us first whether we needed something or were just passing in the elevator or hallway.. Well done Hyatt on your vetting because everyone who worked here made our stay extremely enjoyable

Fried chicken takeaway
Harold's Chicken Shack West Loop is a no-frills, quick-service spot renowned for its straightforward offerings of fried chicken and sides. It has earned the reputation of being the king of Chicago-style fried chicken, with a diverse menu featuring chicken, fish, and wing combos. The 1/4 white or dark meat chicken dinner is highly recommended, accompanied by fries, coleslaw, and bread to soak up the delectable Harold's sauce.
This place is extremely famous for their chicken and we were quite happy with the food! We tried their shrimp, chicken tenders, wings, green tomatoes and hush-puppies. Everything tasted good even if the mild sauce was a little too mild, adding little taste. It is possible to park in the from of the restaurant and the area looked okay. If you are in the area you should give it a try!
Elisa R — Google review
The restaurant is good for a snack. There is a big menu but unfortunately they only had fries as sides available (maybe because we joined for only lunch). The wings with its mild sauce was very good.
Oliver A — Google review
Ordered my food online and it was ready at the given time. There is plenty of paid street parking but if you run in and run out you can probably avoid having to pay. The cashier greeted me and he was pleasant. My order was correct. The fries and chicken were piping hot, fried correctly, and fresh. I hadn't ate Harolds in maybe 5 years before today. I just think there are better options for the price. $10 for 4 wings and fries is a bit much to not be perfect. The chicken was hot and fresh but lacked flavor. The only seasoning I tasted was the salt and pepper I requested. Would I eat it again? Yes. But it will probably be another 5 years.
Theisha F — Google review
there food was cooked great but it was bland for my taste I would recommend the mild sauce
Big B — Google review
The food here is flavorful and cooked just right, especially the wings which are crispy on the outside and juicy inside. The portions are generous, making it a good value for the price. The place has a casual vibe that makes it easy to enjoy whether you’re dining in or taking out. Service is fairly quick, and the staff is friendly, which adds to the overall experience. Definitely a great spot if you’re craving some tasty chicken
Brian F — Google review
I ordered chicken wings with sauce. It was all bad, from the sauce, to the wings. I was very disappointed. they drowned my wings with hot sauce that should’ve been Harold’s sauce. I honestly was very upset, because chicken from Harold’s is expensive. I couldn’t eat nor enjoy my food. 0-10 I do not recommend. Go out south for Harold’s Chicken folks.
Varonica R — Google review
Very poor service. Had to wait almost if not 30 minutes for 6 wings ! Being a former restaurant owner i know this is how it is done. There are people that were hear before me that were told 15 minutes till the chechen is ready. Is there only one deep fryer back there ?
Steven G — Google review
The quarter dark was absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection. However, when the order arrived, it was not what i had requested. I ordered the quarter dark with mild sauce on the chicken and extra mild sauce on the chicken, but received the quarter dark plain, instead. Perhaps a double check system for orders before they leave the kitchen could help avoid these mix ups. Despite the issue, the food was excellent. I won't be coming back to this establishment because, customer service is not what they do.

Bonchon, an international chain with two locations in Chicago, has caused quite a stir since its arrival in Chinatown. The Korean fried chicken served here is renowned for its preternatural crispiness and delicious flavors. Customers have raved about the juicy, tender meat and the outstanding soy garlic and spicy wings. The restaurant's modern decor creates a warm and inviting atmosphere for diners to enjoy their culinary delights.
I gone there with my fiends and the food was very good and filling. I loved the soy and garlic sauce on the boneless wings. I was kind of surprised that the food are large portions instead, especially the fries. I'll definitely come there with my friends again or order for delivery.

The service was wonderful. Everyone was so nice and attentive. There was a bit of a wait but not long. But the food was so mid. It lacked flavor, it was a bit bland.

The food taste great but stop being cheap ! A 15 piece drumstick and this side not even filled ? It’s not even half filled. 2nd time this has happened . First time I thought it was a mistake . Going to mess up a good experience with a side that serves one person .
Jaaayyy — Google review
This was my first time experiencing Bonchon, it was recommended by a family member who said “it’s his favourite fast food restaurant.” We decided to order it during our Chicago trip and in all honesty it was delicious, their signature fried chicken was brilliantly marinated. I genuinely enjoyed it and would definitely recommend it.
Swiss N — Google review
Should’ve listened to the review I saw last week that said the chicken was salty BECAUSE IT WAS- it really was. That’s on me for giving this place the benefit of the doubt. The chicken tasted more like salty batter than actual meat. If you like chewing on seasoned crust and pretending there’s chicken inside, this might be for you. The water is straight up tap water. Maybe that’s normal in Chicago?? I don’t know as I’m not from there. But pairing salted chicken with tap water? Not exactly my dream flavor combo. Service was... fine? Not great. I dropped the little plate they give you when you sit down (yes, totally my fault- FYI it did not break) The staff saw, heard, and decisively chose to do absolutely nothing.. because everyone around us saw and heard and it’s a small area. But no offer to replace it.. I guess I was just meant to vibe with the germs. :D We went around 9 PM, so yes, it was packed. That’s fair. But apparently here, even while you're stuck waiting, you’re not allowed to look at the menu? Not sure how that helps anyone. Seems like an odd choice for a busy restaurant… wouldn't it make sense to let your next customers know what they want before they sit down? We also tried the japchae, which was... there. I’ve had better. The sauce wasn’t properly mixed?? The noodles ended up tasting soggy and separate like two parts of a dish that hadn’t quite met yet. Would I go back? Let’s just say I’ll be listening to reviews next time.

Wow! Bon chon really lives to give you Korean comfort food ! The classic chicken wings to the amazing tenders pack a punch of bursting flavors. Soy garlic is my ultimate flavor choice it’s sweet flavorful. The pork bao buns personally were not my favorite too much gummy fat, but the other options are amazing. They have an amazing selection of friend rice that really carries the proteins and staff hear is always on their A game supper friendly waiters and cashiers they know they’re menu questions very well and will definitely help you recommend amazing choices. They are so clean and I appreciate that. The whole menu is creative and has such great familiar flavors 🩷

No wait when I went, but got really busy once we were seated. Was shortly after opening. We had the Seoul sampler and really enjoyed it. Would definitely go back to try more things.
Jessica B — Google review
Best Korean Chicken Wings I've had. The crisp of the wings is unmatched, super crispy and thin batter. I had the spicy and soy garlic wings. Would much recommend them both. The only big downside is the service. We were standing to wait for a table for 2 for almost 30 minutes during which 3 tables became open. They seated 2 parties ahead of us on the wait list but didn't seat us although there was 1 open table left. After a while, they called my phone even though I was standing right there. After getting seated we decided to order takeout instead because we didn't want to stay longer. I asked if they validated parking and they said yes. However after they "validated" my parking ticket, it didn't work so I still had to pay full price for parking. I don't know if they didn't do it successfully or what happened.

Mother Cluckers Kitchen in Chicago is a lively counter-serve restaurant that offers a variety of BBQ, catfish, and po' boys. The fried chicken is highly recommended, but the sandwiches are equally impressive, especially the fried chicken sandwich and the shrimp or crab cake po boy. Customers have praised the tender and flavorful chicken and waffles as well as the Asian Lettuce Wrap. The atmosphere is upbeat with a blues soundtrack, and it's BYOB.
I'd been wanting to go here for some months having seen others provide excellent reviews. They lived up to the expectation with a great plate of chicken and waffles (pictured), with a small portion of fruit. I selected the white meat plate, and the chicken was tender and flavorful, the waffles were lightly dusted with powdered sugar, to which I added syrup of course. The whole plate was excellent, along with the cup of coffee I ordered (along with a few free refills). The dining area is relatively small, with a counter to order for takeout, or at your table if you're dining in. Our server was friendly, prompt and conscientious. When the check came, I was able to pay with my card, but I noticed that tips could not be added. When I asked they said it was not a problem if a tip was excluded, since they only take cash tips. I gladly left some cash that I had with me, but noted this for next time, although I don't feel like it would prevent me from coming here if I didn't have cash. Prices are reasonable and there is no tip built in, they just prefer to pay the whole tip to the server and not a percentage to a credit company; fair enough. I am looking forward to going back sometime (soon) for the ribs!

Very nice owners! The food was all made from scratch, I had the arugula salad and added grilled chicken. It was fresh and the capers added a nice unusual flavor. Highly recommend!

I can't believe I passed this place up so many times, and didn't stop to try it before. Starting with the customer service, from the moment we walked in until we left, everyone was so pleasant and attentive! Super friendly and efficient! We ordered the rib and chicken combo, with Mac & cheese, coleslaw, and hush puppies. Also added a cheddar Jalapeno cornbread muffin and fried onion strings. Everything was phenomenal and cooked to perfection!!! Chicken was crispy and juicy, ribs were fall off the bone tender. So delicious and full of flavor! I'm excited to try the other items on their menu! Thanks Mother Clucker's!!!:)

Went there for the fried chicken sandwich. It's a huge sandwich with a lot of tender chicken meat breaded just right. There isn't a heat to it nor is it smeared in sauce. You could however, add sauces that best fit your taste. The slaw is fresh and compliments the chicken well. This place is BYOB (nice touch) and I'd recommend getting a bottle of your own to get a feel of the interiors. They've also got outdoor seating and plenty of parking space.
Archit J — Google review
It is quite possible that shrimp tacos isn’t their best item on the menu. Catfish was meaty but lacked flavor as well. Real hit was side dishes or condiments like baked beans that came with catfish and cole slaw for the tacos. However, the portions were disappointingly small that they weren’t satisfying. Overall, this place looks to be popular but my first impression wasn’t a good one with the quality and quantity of food that came up short and unfriendly staff.
Kiljoong K — Google review
Fries and Chicken along with the service was very good. The biscuit which can double as a door stop ( try the cornbread instead) and the Mac and cheese (tasted box style) wouldn't be my choice. I would return but chose different sides but the Fries were perfect so maybe a double order.
Glenn M — Google review
I ordered the Asian Lettuce Wrap, thinking it was a wrap in some type of thin bread—wrong. It's actually some strips of chicken in lettuce. I ate it anyway. The sauce is not good. I do not recommend this particular item. Also, it is messy to eat. I wish I understood that it was not a wrap as in Sandwich, it should be called Asian Chicken Salad low calorie. 5-17-19 UPDATE I returned to resturant and tried their Grilled Chicken Sandwich; it was awesome grilled breast meat. The combo is sandwich with fries or can order sandwich only. The BBQ sauce for sandwich is good. I attached photos of the sandwich, delicious and I am making Mother Cluckers Kitchen my place to go to for Grilled Chicken Sandwich.

BiXi Beer is a vibrant and contemporary brewpub nestled in Logan Square, where craft brews and Asian-inspired cuisine come together to create an unforgettable dining experience. The venue boasts a stunning atrium-style dining area that floods with sunlight, but the real gem is its rooftop patio, perfect for basking in the sun while enjoying refreshing house-brewed beers. Guests can indulge in unique dishes like Chicago beef baos or savor the flavors of a togarashi smash burger on fluffy Japanese milk bread.
This is a really cool spot, the atmosphere is very modern. The food flavor was phenomenal. We ordered the rice crepe with pork (which was more fatty than I would have liked, but that’s just a personal preference), gochugaru fries, and the togarashi burger which was surprisingly not “heavy” for a burger. We also ordered the bananas foster for dessert, which was divine!

Great spot for sharing in a group! Everything we had was amazing and full of flavor. We split the crab rangoons, burger, scallion garlic noodles, fried rice and chicken curry. Everything was tasty but the standout was the burger. Possibly one of the best in Chicago! The scallion garlic noodles also stood out, once mixed it lends itself more towards Mac n cheese on a wide flat noodle. In the best way! Portions are generous and the menu is large with a variety. Absolutely would return!

BiXi is an absolute standout in Chicago. If you like to share food with your friends, this is where you want to go. Our group of 6 got 2-3 plates off each section of the menu along with some sushi and it did not disappoint. The Crab Royale is the most leveled up Crab Rangoon I’ve ever had. Drunken noodles were fantastic and so was every piece of sushi. The vibes are amazing and so was the service. I don’t think we waited more than 2-3 minutes to get our drinks and that alone put me in a good mood. Bonus: They make all of their own noodles in house and brew their own beer. 5/5 across the board.

I came for the amazing atmosphere in the solarium but will be returning because the food was 10/10. The gochugaru fries, scallion garlic noodles (like an Asian adult Mac and cheese, and the Dragon Turtle roll (one of my favorite sushi rolls I’ve ever tried) were all incredible. I’m usually skeptical of expensive cocktails but the tall grass cocktail was worth every penny. Service was fabulous, attentive but not pushing our group to flip the table. Highly recommend for group dinners since many of the plates are shareable.

Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen is a fast-food chain offering spicy fried chicken, biscuits, and sides with a Louisiana flair. The crispy and tender chicken wings are generously coated with ghost pepper seasoning, delivering a robust and smoky flavor with hints of garlic and spices. It's recommended to pair the Ghost Pepper Wings with creamy ranch or blue cheese dressing to balance out the heat.
We got our food through Uber Eats. Our order was perfect. It came just how we ordered it. I got the 5 piece original chicken strips with fries. It came with a biscuit and drink. They have Coke products and Dr.Pepper. The chicken is crispy and juicy. I love their BBQ and honey mustard dipping sauce. I tried their chocolate chip biscuits for the 1st time. They were tasty. I just wish it had more frosting on it.

Ordered boneless wings and other than the order being 100 percent wrong, food cold, and boneless wings the size of a quarter, everything was as expected. I must say that the employees were friendly. 1. The only thing correct was it was a form of chicken 2. Cold 3. Some sauce splattered over the top, not covering the nuggets. 4. Restaurant cleanliness is about what you would expect on Wabash, D- at best.
Rodney Z — Google review
A delicious, good size, crispy, spicy fried chicken sandwich for about $7. In downtown Chicago! At least at Popeyes you get what you pay for, unlike a lot of these downtown eateries that are robbing people. Best meal deal in the city!
Ted E — Google review
Food was good but the customer service was too bad they do not even care

The chicken wings themselves are crispy and perfectly cooked, with tender meat that falls off the bone. The ghost pepper seasoning is generously coated on each wing, providing a fiery kick that builds with every bite. The flavor is robust and smoky, with hints of garlic and spices that add depth to the overall experience. To balance out the heat, I highly recommend pairing the Ghost Pepper Wings with a side of creamy ranch or blue cheese dressing. The coolness of the dressing provides a refreshing contrast to the fiery spice, creating a harmonious balance of flavors.

BEWARE!!! I've been going to this Popeyes for over 10yrs when they were right across the street from this location. Lately I've had several issues with food and mostly service. 1st if you come in when they first open, you will be served leftovers on a daily, you can tell by the chicken being slightly chrispy and not really full heated. 2nd the servers will try to over charge you if they can. I've asked for an large side upgrade several times but, they will charge you for a regular side that comes with the meal and add on a large side aswell, instead up just charging you an price upgrade from the regular to the large. They will also charge you for a drink even if you don't receive one. 3rd Lastly they will steal your popeyes points. They print duplicate receipts and will take your point code before you get a chance to, I've also tried to scan my phone for my points after the order was totaled. Once I scanned my phone to earn my rewards the cashier went in and removed my card and didn't give me my points. Their behavior is a give away because they only give you your printed receipt if you ask for it. Hopefully the owner sees this and corrects this behavior.

Highly priced fast food place - based on what I ate here. I mean I know this is just another fast food place and I’m not supposed to expect healthy etc stuff but it could be a bit tastier for what I paid I think. The mashed potato was good. The chicken was a bit too dry. Wish it was a lil juicier. The place was alright to be a fast food place. KFC is cheaper and in my opinion - way better because It’s juicy atleast.

DryHop Brewers is a European-inspired gastropub offering seasonal house brews in a rustic and laid-back setting. Their rotating selection of house beers includes IPAs, wheats, and pale ales, with the option to sample each draft offering in a flight. The food menu features shareable dishes like fried pickles and the popular Roebuck pizza, as well as a classic burger topped with tomato jam.
DryHop Brewers is a great brewery in Lakeview. They have indoor seating and outdoor space on the sidewalk. It makes for some good people-watching. My girlfriend and I decided to go the only appetizers route with the maple bacon wings, cheese curds, fried pickles, and soft pretzel. Everything was really tasty and it ended up being just the right shout of food. I loved that the fried pickles were spears and not chips so I could get more pickle. They also have some really good beers.

In the highly competitive (and shrinking) craft beer market, you need to be better than fine to thrive. Dry Hop is fine. The beer, food, service, and space are fine. I’m afraid that this does not bode well for them long term.
Matthew P — Google review
I had a great experience here! I had a pineapple margarita. It's on the menu as spicy but I asked for no jalapenos. It was delightful. We had the soft pretzel appetizer. We don't like mustard so we asked for two cheeses . They were delicious. Also I think the bartender's name was Jason and he was so friendly. They do have outdoor seating, and you're able to sit with your dog outside. Their beer selection changes. They also have ciders.

Drinks are decent here, but you will get talked down to if you try to order a drink and they do not like the glass you ask for. I asked for a martini in a regular glass, got made fun of because I wanted it in a standard glass. The waiter brings it out in the big mug possible. Guess this will not be our spot after the laugh factory ever again!

DryHop Brewers is a spot I've walked past more times than I can count—and I'm really glad I finally gave it a try. The interior is cozy with a welcoming atmosphere that makes it perfect for a casual hangout. My girlfriend absolutely loved her curry wrap. I went with the cheese pizza, which was also amazing! The pretzel with cheese dip had a great crust on the bottom and was a perfect way to end our dinner.

Cute brewery with food located feet away from Broadway & Belmont. Love the cute little patio area in front that is rather quite lunch and comfy looking.... So today it was raining so all I got to do was look at the patio. The inside has a garage windows that open directly straight into the street. The bar has tables and serves at the bar too. They have a wide beer selection, wine, and cocktails I ended up getting a $5 Patio Pint. This has to be one of the most delicious pilsners I've had in a really long while called the Circadian Rhythm. Every time I put the glass down, I picked it right up for another sip. All their drinks seemed reasonably priced..... Going from 5 to about 15 dollars. This is a little out of my neighborhood, Logan square, but I would definitely drive out here to have another beer and hang on the patio.

Overall, our experience was positive. The food is good, and the place has a nice feel to it. However, for it not being very crowded, getting our order in took a strangely long amount of time. I would certainly go back, but would probably go elsewhere if in a rush.

Dancen is a cozy Korean eatery known for its diverse menu of traditional Korean dishes and cocktails. Despite its small size, the restaurant effortlessly serves up delicious food, including their popular Fire Chicken dish. The place has garnered a reputation as a staple Korean restaurant in Chicago, with rave reviews about their army stew and spicy pork skin. While some may find the ambiance different from what they expected, others consider it a hidden gem for really good Korean food.
This hidden gem is a real treat for Korean food lovers! The restaurant doesn’t have a sign outside, so it’s easy to miss, but once inside, the 90s Korean vibe is awesome – K-pop posters on the wall, K-pop music videos on the TV, and a great atmosphere overall. We had chicken gizzards, pork skin, pork cutlets, and army soup, along with some grilled mushrooms and garlic. Everything was flavorful and delicious. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more dishes. Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic Korean BBQ and cuisine!

It's really good. Really good. They cater to those in the know, which seems odd for a place with such great food. But the whole menu is fantastic. If they moved to the heart of Lincoln Square, you'd never get in. It's that great.
Michael — Google review
Overall, the food was a tad undersalted for my taste. The fire chicken was tender, flavorful, and had a delicious smoky char though some pieces were burnt to the point of being inedible. I probably shouldn’t have ordered it with cheese, which made the dish overly rich after a few bites. The spicy sauteed squid was garlicky, saucy, and tasty. I just wish there was more squid. However, things went downhill with the extremely gamey chicken gizzards. I love gizzard but it was so bad I had to spit it out and left the rest untouched.

If you want to experience truly authentic Korean food, this is the place to go! Every dish tastes just like it’s straight from Korea so flavorful and comforting. The staff are incredibly kind and welcoming, which makes the whole experience even better. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough it’s hands down one of the best Korean spots I’ve ever been to!
Daisy C — Google review
Food is always amazing here and service is great. Favorite dishes are the kimchi pancake and sweet marinaded pork rib. The fire chicken with cheese is also delicious and the rice balls help combat the heat. Portions are more than enough for two people, with leftovers.
Nancy M — Google review
Really disappointed with what I ordered. I got the fire chicken with cheese and it just tasted so bland. I saw people raving about it, so I thought it would be good but it's literally just chicken with melted cheese. Service wasn't good either. I don't think I would come back to try anything else.

Dancen is amazing. I appreciate the staffs and managers kindness to me even though I have autism and their food is amazing and really good. Owner Sun is very nice. The restaurant is in good condition. Amazing Korean fried chicken. Must come back. 10/10.
Curtis P — Google review
We were thoroughly impressed by the food at Dancen. Every dish we tried, including the fire chicken with cheese, the spicy pork skin, kimchi pancake, sweet marinated pork rib, and spicy squid, was outstanding! The restaurant's atmosphere has an intimate ambiance and it's a great spot to enjoy some traditional Korean dishes with friends. We're definitely looking forward to returning again soon.

Hermosa Restaurant is a delightful culinary gem that seamlessly blends Asian flavors with a casual dining experience. By day, it serves up innovative sandwiches, including chef Ethan Lim's Cambodian-inspired fried chicken sandwich, which features refreshing pickled papaya and long beans to balance the spice of the marinated dark meat. As night falls, this charming spot transforms into an exclusive supper club where guests can enjoy "Family Meal," an intimate dining experience for groups of up to 10.
Amazing experience. Went for the Family Meal, 11 course dinner with BYOB. It began with individuals dishes and progressed into a family sharing style plates. Every dish was really good. The meal had range with delicate seafood to start leading to heartier dishes towards the end. Lots of interesting sauces throughout the meal highlighting Cambodian flavors. We brought a sparkling and a Riesling, and got advice on which dishes to pair with each through out the meal which was nice touch. Highly recommend!!

Tremendous experience here! Food was sensational! Really flavorful food. Seafood tower was delicious along with the fried chicken. Cute and intimate space. Recommend doing the family meal style menu!
Paul S — Google review
Went for the family dinner. It's a very intimate space as soon as you walk in. Ethan and staff are so friendly and accommodating. We were greeted with some crunchy thin beef jerky and a spicy sauce. Salmon rillete and fresh spring veggies, followed by an 18 hour crunch potato with tartare and roe (my favorite large bite) a nice scallop akin to me like an aguachile. A really earthy curry soup with fresh hers and sans coconut milk. Then came the fried chicken and sides. The fried chicken was every by as good as advertised with the nice flavor and my kee go to fried chicken sauce (lime and fresh black pepper). A nicely fried fresh fish followed by a huge ribeye. Closed off with a dulce de leche ice cream. It's been my meal of the year as of June 23. I have told everyone to try to secure the very difficult reservation. Well worth the wait

I finally got the chance to try their famous Cambodian chicken sandwich. It’s just full of flavors.

This place wins everything. Came here for the chicken sandwich and was blown away but the Asian fusion flavors that clamour in your mouth to leave a lasting taste. Po Boy and Cambodian Fried Chicken Sandwiches were just fantastic. Surprisingly, the milkshakes were delicious too. All dishes are made to order to there's a little wait but you can tell it's worth by how fresh it tastes. There isn't a lot of seating but they have comics to keep to entertained. Bring your ID if you are a student to get a discount.

Went for a short version of the tasting menu, though they gave us lots of extras. Great ingredients, creative dishes, nice combination of restraint and spicy treats, excellent technique. A wonderful meal.
David D — Google review
A true dining experience with family style dishes from Cambodian recipes. Every damn angle time we go we have the very best time with friends. If you are lucky enough to score a family dinner here you are blessed. Ethan is brilliant at hospitality as well as creating a menu that cannot be matched in Chicago.
Victoria S — Google review
Damn, this was a good dinner. We did the family dinner for two. There was enough food for twice that, if not more. All of it exceptional. There were probably 12 or 13 courses. Ethan is very charming, the atmosphere is welcoming, and we feel like we were taken care of beginning to end. Highly recommend.

Pizza restaurant

The pizza restaurant Pizza Fried Chicken Ice Cream has joined forces with Kimski Fried Chicken and Pretty Cool Ice Cream to create a unique hospitality experience in the Community of the Future. You can order any combination of pizza, chicken, and ice cream on thin cracker crust at either the restaurant or next door at Marias Packaged Goods.
I had a taste for a chicken sandwich, so I made my way to Bridgeport. I follow Pizza Fried Chicken Ice Cream on IG. When I opened my container, I was pleasantly surprised. The sandwich did not look like the picture on the menu. The buttermilk fried chicken breast fit perfectly between the bun and the toppings evenly distributed throughout the sandwich. In every bite, there was an explosion of flavor. The fries were also good. I ordered a cocktail at Maria's while I waited 15 minutes for my food. If you are looking for a high-end chicken sandwich, head to Bridgeport.
Sheryl B — Google review
The chicken tenders are great and the pizza is good but heads up of you order pepperoni they put so much of it on the pizza. It's thin crust about 16 inches . They have fried mushrooms for those who don't eat meat.
Elizabeth — Google review
Pizza Fried Chicken Ice Cream is the greatest pizza on Earth! They only serve 3 things here = what's in their name. Their pizza is tavern style crust which is ultra thin crust. The pizzas are not cheap but they are massive and it would be difficult for 3 people to finish one pizza. Come on an empty stomach! I included some craft beer and a coffee drink infused with CBD as a few of the drink selections from the cooler. They have Coca-Cola and water as well. Get over to Pizza Fried Chicken Ice Cream for the most delicious pizza on Earth! You will go home happy!
Larry W — Google review
One of the best pizzas I've ever had!!! You gotta try this spot. I live on the west side and drove 30 mins because of a recommendation, but even my high expectations were exceeded. Started with the chicken tenders, which had the perfect amount and crisp to the breading, plus came with two signature sauces- honey mustard and Buffalo ranch. The chicken was good enough to be sold by itself. And the sauce was so good I capped them back up and took the rest home. Then came the pizza, and lemme tell ya, I've had, on average, about a pizza per week for my entire life. Deep dish, cracker crust, tavern style, Detroit style, NY style... THIS WAS ONE OF THE SINGLE BEST PIZZAS IVE EVER HAD. It was a cracker crust, which has a very narrow window between chewy/undercooked and burnt/overcooked, and boy do they know how to find that perfect middle. I went with Hot sopressata as my topping, which may well have overtaken pepperoni as the best pizza topping, because it's similar but it's got a kick. I would be back here for the chicken, but I'm coming back regularly for that outstanding pizza. 10/10.
Quinn B — Google review
Seriously disappointed with our burnt and black pizza. Cracker crust, thin and flimsy. Bottom of pizza was so charred, black crumbs coated our mouths. The edges of the pizza were BLACK. Pepperoni is burnt too. Toppings fall right off. Paid an extra $2.50 for hot honey and I don't think we got. We tried to power through and eat different parts of the pizza since we carried out. Eventually gave up. This place says real ones know that there pizza isn't burnt. I really wanted to try it. I'm disappointed to say it was definitely burnt.
Sharon W — Google review
This is some of the best pizza I’ve had in a long time. Ordered takeout on their website, and was given a 30 minute estimate. The pizza was ready on time for carry out. It was recommended from a friend to do Tavern Style (thin crust) and we were not disappointed. The crust/dough itself has fantastic flavor, and the way the pizza was cooked was stellar an unique (a little charred, but adds a wonderful flavor, not burnt). A gem of Bridgeport, but dangerous, because now I crave it.
Michael C — Google review
Loved the buttery/greasy yet flaky, super thin crust pizza here. I decided to try Pizza Fried Chicken Ice Cream when I found out they offer Halal Beef pepperoni as a topping, and it did not disappoint! The crust was slightly burnt, but it added as nice subtle smokey flavor to the pizza. I think that is how they prepare it on purpose- whatever it is, it works. Will be back again for more
Imaad S — Google review
Pizza was really good. Thin crispy crust. Sausage tasted homemade. Nice oregano flavor. The crust was slightly burnt. Maybe that's how they do it. No indoor seating, but you can eat at the bar next door (after ordering a drink presumably). I ordered half sausage and half pepperoni but was charged $3.25 x 2 as if I ordered sausage and pepperoni on the whole pizza. I asked about that before paying and they said that they'll let it slide. Like, what? That wasn't cool. Then, of course, the little iPad thing asks how much you want to tip. Hey restaurants, pay your people and stop asking for tips where it's not normal. Stop trying to make it normal.

Fried chicken takeaway
The Budlong Hot Chicken (RFH) is a popular counter-serve spot in Revival Food Hall, offering Nashville-style fried chicken, Southern sides, and pies. The crackly and genuinely spicy exterior of the chicken contrasts with its juicy interior, making it a must-try. The intricately flavored collard greens are also a standout among the top-quality sides. Whether you're craving takeout or dining in, this spot offers a taste of southern comfort with its giant batches of fried chicken.
This is a really good restaurant one of the best hot chicken experiences I've had. I had the extra hot tenders and they were perfectly cooked and straight off the fryer. Their biscuits were perfectly cooked with the flavored butter and jam, it was like your grandma made fresh biscuits in the oven and you got the first bite. Also the Mac and cheese was perfect it was not too dry or wet it had the right blend of chedder and other cheeses. Also a root beer on the side is a must need because of the spicyness. Over all this experience was amazing.
Mana M — Google review
Amazing hot chicken and biscuits. I got the hot chicken strips with biscuit and jam on side. The biscuit with jam and flavored butter was the perfect treat for a Friday.
Mahima S — Google review
Try this counter out if you like hot chicken! The flavor is fantastic, with strong heat in the Classic or Hot. I can’t really confirm if I had Classic or Hot because I ordered two chicken strip meals, both Classic, and one meal was notably hotter than the other. I suspect either their consistency was off or their quality control was off. I suspect I received both a Classic and a Hot. If you are looking for hot chicken and can handle the heat, get some. They also have Naked chicken and it has great flavor with no heat. I will say some strips were a bit dry. Also, supply management seems to be an issue. The coo tee ran out of fries (which were also great!) with my first order. They also were out of Mac and Cheese. They were also out of all toppings for a salad, except carrots. All at about 6:20 pm on a moderately busy Saturday. Still, the chicken is so good you should try it!
Patrick R — Google review
Heard good things about their fried chicken so I had to try. Tried their 1/4 lb dark meat on classic spice level. The classic is all about heat, so my mouth was hot the whole time but didn't stop me from eating like a spicy flavor would. After I got used to it I actually taste the sweet more than the heat. The skin is super crispy, meat is juicy, tender, and falling off the bone. Would recommend trying, just get here early before it closes at 7pm.
Walton Y — Google review
Quick and easy - the classic already has enough spice for me but that’s because my lower body can’t take it!! The pickles are sweet but delicious!
Joe C — Google review
Their fried chicken is pretty good. I have had both the 1/4 dark and the hot chicken sandwich. The skin of the 1/4 dark was very crispy and flavorful; the meat itself was tender and juicy, but it didn't have much flavor. The hot chicken sandwich, on the other hand, was not as crispy and tender as the dark, but the flavor was more evenly distributed, and it was combined very well with the rest of the sandwich. While everyone else is going insane with Popeyes, why not give this place a try?
Yibin Y — Google review
I came here on a Thursday around 11:45am. It’s in a dining hall and the place was pretty much dead except for the long line in front of budlong, so I knew it was going to be good. I had the hot chicken sandwich with a spicy level of hot and the mac n cheese. The sandwich was delicious! It could have been hotter in my opinion, hot was one level above classic and one level below the hottest which is x-hot, but the heat felt pretty mild, not even jalapeño hot. Regardless, the chicken was well-seasoned, the bun was light and fresh, the slaw had great flavor, and the sweetness from the pickles were refreshing. The mac n cheese was good, but it could have used salt. They had done a good job of keeping the cheese sauce together without it getting gritty, the noodles were cooked well, and they used a good amount of pepper. I wished I had grabbed a salt packet because with some salt, it would have been excellent.
