Cafe Medina is a popular spot in Vancouver known for its luxurious and contemporary design, offering an eclectic daytime menu with unique waffle toppings. The cafe serves up Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, along with a variety of coffees, teas, cocktails, wines, and beers. It's a bustling brunch spot with French roots and offers traditional dishes like couscous and cassoulet alongside breakfast plates featuring items such as merguez sausage and smoked salmon.
A Must-Visit for Breakfast Lovers – Cafe Medina Cafe Medina offers a relaxed, cozy atmosphere — perfect for a delicious and memorable breakfast. The menu may look simple at first glance, but every dish is full of flavor and character. Each plate is thoughtfully crafted and satisfying. Their signature waffles are a standout — crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, and perfectly paired with a variety of house-made sauces. Every sauce is uniquely delicious, making it hard to pick a favorite. Drinks are well-balanced, and the service is consistently warm, friendly, and attentive. While there might be a short wait, it’s never too long and definitely worth it. If you're in town on an even-numbered day, don’t miss Cafe Medina — it's a true breakfast gem.

We were a group of six and had to wait almost two hours, even though the estimated wait time was about 1 hour and 15 minutes. The staff made up for it with a nice gesture, offering us free coffee and a waffle. I ordered the fricassee, and it was delicious! The braised rib was definitely the highlight of the dish, tender and flavorful. But the real star of Medina Café is their waffle. I honestly can’t tell you how much I loved it, crispy, buttery, and perfectly paired with their toppings. Definitely a must-try!
Amin S — Google review
My friend first brought me here and had me try the passion fruit cream with waffles. Ever since then, I can’t stop thinking about that taste! So I came back with another friend this time. We ordered the paella, frittata, and some cocktails. Everything was delicious, and the service was amazing. And of course, the passion fruit cream was just as incredible as I remembered!

I really loved this place! From the moment I called to ask about their gluten free options, I spoke with the owner, who mentioned his wife is also celiac, and right away I knew I would be in good hands. That level of understanding and care made such a difference. When we arrived, the owner was so warm and welcoming. He took the time to get to know us and personally recommended the Wolves Breakfast, which was incredible, especially if you are looking for a high-protein option. The matcha latte was also so good and really well made. I was told the waffle is a must-try as well. The only thing I’ll say is that besides the Wolves breakfast - there’s not much more gluten free offerings. Highly recommend Medina for a cozy breakfast with an atmosphere built on positivity, genuine hospitality, and great food. A true Vancouver gem.

We had the paella and pork sandwich. The pork was crispy, soft and tender at the same time. Probably one of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve had. The foccacia bread was so delicious as well. The waffle is amazing, probably one of the best waffles as well. Come to this spot 🚀

The best thing about this cafe is the service. Aya served us and she was the KINDEST server/bartender I've ever met. Super sweet, warm, friendly, patient, and knowledgeable about the menu items. My friend and I went on Saturday morning for brunch. We asked her to take a quick picture of us when it was super busy and she agreed to do it with the nicest smile. We were really impressed by her proactive demeanour and friendly disposition. This is an excellent place to be served for weekend brunch. I highly recommend their Belgian waffle with the berry compote (not in the picture - we devoured it as soon as it touched the table).

This was my third time visiting Medina and each time the experience has been outstanding. I love the ambiance and the food is so flavoursome, decent portions and a bit different to your usual brunch fare. I had the Cassoulet and my husband had the Tagine and both were delicious. If you are planning on going be advised it’s popular and fills up so you might need to put your name on the list (45 minutes for us) but I’m okay with that when the food is soo good!
Sarah B — Google review
In general I really love Medina, been coming here for over a decade. I often have the Le complet, but unfortunately in recent times the steak always has some extremely chewy, stringy part that is impossible to chew down no matter how long you try. After minutes of chewing the same bit it's not a nice experience, especially when you have to "spit out" little bits of steak multiple times for one small little steak. It happened a few times now, and I've seen others have the same issue so wanted to share this in hopes that this longstanding brunch star of the city might try to serve a "better" cut or part of meat in this dish. Everything else is steadily satisfying here :)

Patisserie
Bakery
Patisserie Lebeau is a cozy Belgian bakery that has been serving up traditional and innovative waffles for over 20 years. Located on West 2nd, this charming bakeshop offers a variety of waffle options, including Liege, Brussels, filled, and savory Brussels. In addition to their famous waffles, they also create mouthwatering pastries like mousses, craquelins, danishes, and croissants.
They have a great selection of waffles from miniature snack size to savory to belgian. You can eat 1 everyday and not be bored. Breakfast waffle had great flavor and the runny egg was just perfect. I also tried the curry chicken sandwich which I think was lacking a bit flavor. Maybe the other plentiful selection of sandwich would be better. The chai latte was on par with coffee shop nearby. So no complaints there. They have wholesale options if you are up to task of making your own waffle at home. The staff has always been friendly and serve you with a smile. They have points reward system too. It pays to be a member of the clubhouse.

This is one of my favourite spots for hot cross buns. I have to say that this time I was so disappointed. The hot cross buns typically are light in colour and soft and yummy with the custard cross. Mine came from a tray in the back so I couldn’t see and just assumed they would be as on display. When I got home with my bag I opened it to darker overdone buns. At the price they are I wasn’t happy. But more importantly we look forward to this treat each Easter and didn’t enjoy them year. It would have been nice if the server had asked if I was ok with darker buns. Maybe some people enjoy them that way.

An absolute hidden gem in the seemingly industrial part of the neighborhood. I didn’t even know it existed until one day I accidentally stumbled upon it (and by stumbling upon it, I really meant being pulled in by the absolute aromatic and delicious smell 🤣🤧🥵) Having been here twice now, I can confidently say that the place is ran by the kindest people both back and front. Both of the times they were incredibly patient and explained all the flavours and combinations to me in such details. The mini liege waffles tasted just enough differently from one another - which isn’t always the case when it’s the same base (I’ve gotten a combo pack of pastries from other establishments before, only for them to all taste pretty similar to one another even when they were marketed as different flavors). The only thing is- the pricing isn’t super clear. I was told that the mini waffles were $3 (which is also a bit steep for its size), but both of the times it came out to be more because I think some of the flavours are considered “premium” (ie., the white chocolate pistachio one in the picture). I hope that the pricing and flavoring are a bit clearer upfront for clarity in the future, but other than that, it’s a great local business to support ☺️

I love their take-home spinach and feta frozen waffles, and their spicy salami sandwich. My brother can’t get enough of the Belgian way waffle—so delicious. Perfect for dining in or taking home a treat!

After living in the area for many many years, I am surprised I've never found this cafe sooner! This hidden gem in the car dealerships area has been in operation for over 20 years. We tried the various salty & sweet waffles, croissants and they are as good as them come. Soft & moist for the waffle, crunchy and buttery for croissant- will be back regularly to try other pastries :)
Thomas L — Google review
Best sandwich you can find in the neighborhood. Bread is crispy but soft to bite into. The lady in glasses at the counter is the nicest and would offer to warm up your sandwich for you for free 🙏 Had a Brie chicken sandwich today and I enjoyed every bite into it!
Fiona M — Google review
The first time that we found Patisserie Lebeau was all the way back in 2011 (back when we first started this food blog). We actually came across this place by accident back then – but I still remember how impressed we were with the waffles here (this was the place that turned me onto liege waffles and their little pearls of sugar). It’s been way too long since a revisit but we were stopping by a nearby bakery (The Cake & The Giraffe) and figured this would be a great time to pick up some lunch and treats… a tasty salami and provolone baguette, a savory ham & cheese-filled waffle, a fruit danish and chocolate fruit tart, as well as an orange & cranberry scone. Can’t really go wrong with the baked items here but make sure you try out some of their waffles. Update May 2024: Long awaited revisit. Had the waffle combo with custard and whipped cream and fruit. Also grabbed a bunch of stuff to-go. Love the crunchy pearls of sugar in the liege waffles.
Penny S — Google review
Lovely food and efficient, friendly staff. You can order some items in advance for pickup next day; I've been picking up a half dozen baguettes weekly for a few years. My favorite treat is the cinnamon bun, which is more of a cinnamon slab, without the icing. Stripped down and delicious!

This Victoria Drive spot is all about Scandinavian-inspired waffles and treats, with an amazing patio to boot! It's definitely worth a visit for delicious waffles and tasty sweet and savoury options.
Yum! Yum! Yum! Good vibes with great waffles. It was my first time here so I talked to one of the staff and she suggested me to get the chicken & waffles. Did not regret! The chicken was crispy but juicy inside, kinda heavy on the batter but it added to the texture. If you like the sweet and savoury flavour combination, this is definitely a good item to order.
Emily L — Google review
Great selection of savoury & sweet waffles, with breakfast & sandwiches available too. The waffles have a vegan option which I've been told are quite tasty. I had the Valhalla savoury waffle: the spicy jam was very delicious paired with the rich crispy bacon bits & maple syrup. The portion sizes were good & service was friendly. I only wish I left some space to try a sweet waffle!
L H — Google review
I would eat here again although I think I'll stick to sweet versus savory. Both the maple bacon and Bennie weren't the best. I think the sweet options will probably be a better choice. If you're looking for delicious chicken and waffles I recommend Dixies bbq on Hastings.
Evangeline D — Google review
I was told this place is a hidden gem known for amazing breakfast and lunch fare..and I couldn't describe it any better! I had the omelette of the Day - assortment of fresh veggies, ham, and mozzarella cheese - with bacon and toast - it was phenomenal! My wife ordered the Norsky with poached eggs - cooked perfectly, with nugget potatoes and bacon. Everything we ordered - including my cafe mocha was 10/10. Highly recommend this great place! we will be back for the waffles next time!
Travis M — Google review
Back for a second time, and it does not disappoint! Tasty mochas (with hazelnut too!) and a great selection of sweet or savory waffles. I love coming to this place whenever I'm in Vancouver. Easily the best waffles I've had. If you've not had Chicken and Waffles before, have it here! Far and away the best Chicken and Waffles I've ever had.

Scandilicious got something for everyone. Want a Smørrebrød, waffles or else? Had a “Scandilicious” waffles this morning. The quality is good, and presented with great care. However, I did not feel welcome as I walked into the restaurant. The lady at the counter was kinda cold, inhospitable, almost standoffish. On the other hand, the gentleman name “Mackenzie” who took the order was attentive and friendlier than her. I’m not a complicated guest by any means, but people are more willing to come back and spend money without having to deal with stuck up and sour staff.
Alex K — Google review
We were very excited to try this restaurant. We ordered the Chicken and Waffles and the MBJ burger. Food looked great but tasted even better. Ingredients tasted very fresh and high quality. Burger bun was amazing - apparently it was made in house from scratch too. Chicken was very tender. Highly recommend checking them out.
Jack L — Google review
Cute breakfast/lunch place. Often busy, but go in the afternoon to avoid the rush. Waffles are good and ready quick. Been several times lately and have been satisfied with the service and food everytime. There is a good variety on the menu for a brunch place: sweet waffles, savoury waffles, eggs, grilled sandwiches, etc. Very cozy decor. Update: Have been very impressed with their COVID protocols and they've added big umbrellas to the door patio area. For take out, they've really thought packaging the food.

Nero Belgian Waffle Bar is a popular spot known for its authentic Brussels and Liege waffles, offering a variety of sweet and savory options to cater to different tastes. The cafe also serves expertly brewed espresso drinks to complement the waffles. With locations on Seymour Street and Robson Street in Vancouver, Nero Belgian Waffle Bar provides a cozy atmosphere where visitors can indulge in delectable treats like the Banella waffle with Nutella and bananas or the traditional Liege waffle.
Absolutely delicious breakfast. My only knock was having to pay $3 for syrup, which for what ever reason didn’t come standard with the waffles. The hand and cheese waffles were truly top notch in flavor. Their prices were average for the area. Staff were super friendly and service was fast. Overall if you’re looking for a delicious breakfast or lunch this is a spot you should definitely check out.
Coach T — Google review
The waffles here are amazing. We got a couple of eggs benedict with salmon and ham, the brie with crispy prosciutto, and the french waffle. We enjoyed everything! The waffles are crispy and savory. The prosciutto is so good and a hefty serving too. Overall great experience. Just a quick comment though, if you are a larger group wait times might be longer. They only have a few large tables. Otherwise, don't be scared of the lines, the queue is much quicker than what we thought.

I had a wonderfully enjoyable breakfast that exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I walked in, the customer service was exceptional; the staff greeted me warmly and attended to my needs with genuine care. The food presentation was impressive, with each dish artfully arranged to delight the eyes as much as the palate. The "smashed avocado" was a standout. It was bursting with fresh flavors and paired perfectly with a hint of lime and a sprinkle of sea salt, making it both delicious and delightful. The classic "heaven" was equally impressive; its layers of flavor and textures truly lived up to its name, offering a comforting yet sophisticated experience. I left feeling completely satisfied and inspired by the meal, and I am looking forward to a return visit to explore more of the menu.
Larry H — Google review
Lots of choice of savoury and sweet waffles. The service was slow but they were very busy and didn't have enough staff to cope with the number of people waiting. They were definitely trying their best and the food more than made up for it. It tasted amazing and the presentation was on point. The music was great, loads of old skool hip hop tunes to get you singing along.
Sahil — Google review
Nero Waffle in Yaletown is such a lovely place for anyone who loves waffles that are both creative and satisfying! I had the smashed avocado with smoked salmon waffle on my recent visit, and wow, it was absolutely delightful. The avocado was fresh and creamy, and the smoked salmon had this rich, savoury flavour that went perfectly with the light, crisp waffle. It was balanced and not too heavy, making it the perfect brunch choice. My friend went for the grilled cheese waffle with smoked salmon, and while it looked yummy, it turned out to be a bit too salty. The cheese and smoked salmon made the flavours super heavy and intense, which might not be great if you’re sensitive to salty food. It’s definitely better for those who enjoy bold, savoury bites. We also shared a strawberry waffle for dessert, which was a lovely contrast to the savoury dishes. The waffle was crisp on the outside, fluffy inside, and the strawberries were sweet and juicy. It gave us a refreshing and light finish to our meal. The staff at Nero Waffle were so welcoming and attentive, which made our visit even more enjoyable. Overall, it’s a fantastic spot for brunch, with some really standout dishes worth trying!
Sirinya S — Google review
We had a great experience. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Service is efficient and you can get their attention easily. Lots of options for sweet and savoury waffles with an option for vegan. Choice of 2 types of waffle - you can have a light and fluffy inside with a crispy outside waffle or a leige type waffle which is slightly chewier. Cutlery feels nice to use, it has good lighting, warm and not too bright but you can still see the food. Atmosphere here has a good vibe.
Natalie M — Google review
Fun place to try for waffle lovers. The menu features sweet and savoury waffles great for breakfast, brunch, or dessert. You can dine in and order from the full menu of Belgian waffles or grab a mini liege waffle and beverage from the to-go counter. I've seen them get busy, but when I went for a weekday lunch with a friend, there was no wait for a table. I tried the brie waffle (brie cheese, apples, and greens with balsamic vinaigrette) when I went for brunch, and also have tried their churro and pistachio liege waffles. I got the brie waffle with their gluten-friendly buckwheat waffle since I really like buckwheat. The flavour of the buckwheat waffle was nice but it was very airy and a little dry. The brie topping was great. The menu changes seasonally so I don't think they're currently offering this version of the brie waffle, but they have a different baked brie waffle on the menu now. The liege waffles are very good - these are rich but still fluffy. The churro liege had the dulce de leche custard inside which was a REALLY nice treat. I think the churro liege is also out of the rotation at the time of writing, but they have other custard-stuffed flavours. The liege waffles are rather sweet, but they make a good occasional treat. They also have a full coffee bar. Their London fog was pretty good. The dine-in service was kind of slow, but the staff were very pleasant. I definitely recommend the place if you like waffles and want to try some unique waffle flavours!
Dana S — Google review
We had to wait outside for about 30 minutes before getting our order. The waffle itself was nice and crispy, but the toppings were really disappointing. The strawberries tasted sour and didn’t seem fresh at all. On top of that, the prices were quite high for the quality offered. I expected better ingredients and faster service from a place like this. I never come back.

Amazing service, hospitality and food. The team ensured that every need of ours was attended too and also ensured that we had a great experience. The team was polite, friendly , knowledgeable and thoroughly professional. The food was amazing. The tuna and the steak were cooked to perfection with amazing flavours. The carpacio was spot on. The cocktails were mind blowing. A thoroughly delightful gastronomic experience.

The waffles 🧇 were amazing! As a main I tried “Le burger”, seemed very well cooked at first but the flavour was not the best at the end, I believe the taste of parsley 🌿 was very present (too much) and difficult to navigate around. The potatoes that it came with were good. Apart from that, everything else was great. Tammy, our waitress was very attentive. Would come back.

Had booked dinner for our family to celebrate a milestone birthday, had anticipated for delicious food only to have been very disappointed by the mains. The appetizers showed great promise, the shrimp scampi, strawberry salad, and carpaccio were great as were the other few appies we ordered. The zero proof drinks were also very enjoyable. Unfortunately, out of the 6 meals we ordered for the mains, the only 2 guests who enjoyed their food were the ones that shared the steak. 3 of us ordered the sablefish main, which has always been a favorite but this time it was unrecognizable. Sablefish is usually very flaky and soft and melts in your mouth . This was not that at all. There was firstly such a small piece of fish in my meal, I only had a couple bites worth. Secondly there seemed to hardly be any fish and it tasted overcooked and nothing like any sablediah I've had before-- very underwhelming. All 3 of us felt the same . The best part of the meal was the small chorizo sausage that was not supposed to be the main highlight. The sweet potato dish also fell flat. This was a mood killer by then end as none of us finished our meals and were left disappointed. Next time if im ever back, ill stick to just the appies and drinks.

We had a private family birthday party in the lower area of Chambar. Tammy was not only our server, but she felt like our personal concierge and family caretaker. Everything that could have been considered, was. The food was original and delicious and the entire staff were kind and helpful. (I brought in extra table decorations for the party.)

The lamb shank was insanely delicious. perfectly cooked, tender enough to fall off the bone, and bursting with rich flavor. I loved the hint of cumin, almond, and fig.

My boyfriend brought me here for my birthday. The atmosphere is so beautiful and romantic with candle light at every table. They have a massive beer/wine menu with a lot of interesting drinks. And the food is amazing!!!! They don't have a massive menu but what they do, they do really really well so don't be afraid to try something new because it will be great! I had their mussels and my boyfriend had the duck. The food is incredible and well worth it. All the staff were really nice. Thanks for a lovely experience 🥰

Jam Cafe is a bustling and popular family-owned eatery in Vancouver, with two locations including one in Kitsilano. The rustic interior is adorned with vintage knick-knacks, creating a fun and funky vibe. Known for serving the best brunch in Vancouver, it's no wonder there's always a line. The extensive menu offers all-day breakfast items and breakfast cocktails like the Jammer Mimosa.
My friends and I came to this restaurant and we all got different meals and loved it. The French toast with chicken is to die for! Perfectly balanced. I recommend getting the hash browns extra crispy. The salmon and farmers Benedict were the best that my friends said they ever had! Even if there’s a long line, it still goes pretty quickly. Very enjoyable breakfast. Fills you up for the day! Edit: we literally returned the next morning to enjoy the breakfast again! Two of the four got different meals and loved them and my friend loved hers so much she got it again. Delicious. Photos can’t even do it justice! We also tried the mimosas today - we love the variety in choice. As we we’re waiting in line, we literally heard a family say how much it was worth the wait! I must, if you were in the city of Vancouver!
Avery M — Google review
A must-try, despite the wait! The Jam Cafe line was definitely long, but the food was worth the anticipation. Everything we ordered was great—a true comfort food feast. The only stumble was with a side order: I asked for two medium poached eggs and they came out hard-poached instead. A minor flaw, but the overall meal was excellent and well worth a visit when you are in Vancouver.
Remee D — Google review
EXCEPTIONAL!!! On the last day of a short visit to Vancouver, Jam Cafe was selected as the “farewell” (the “icing”) to this culinary adventure. Jam Cafe (Beatty Street; there are other locations) did NOT disappoint. In fact, it EXCEEDED -very- expectation. Yes, there was a wait; perhaps 15-20 minutes, longer for larger parties; reservations are not accepted. The line moved, time passed. Once inside, the reason for waiting became clear: There are perhaps 20 tables in all; seating is limited. Yes, it IS worth the wait. The breakfast offerings were EVERY bit as delicious and inviting as can be imagined. Other diners enjoyed heaping portions of waffles, chicken, and almost every other menu selection. Service was polite, prompt, and efficient, and once ordered, breakfast arrive quickly. There was no “rush” to the experience, which was another plus. Brave the lines, arrive hungry, and feast!!!

Jam Cafe, as many have mentioned, have long line ups on the weekend due to their good food and good portions. We lined up around 40 minutes on Saturday. The interior is long but not very big, but there is also outdoor seating during the summer. We ordered various dishes including eggs Benedict, chicken and waffles, and blueberry and lemon curd pancakes between the three of us. Portions were big and none of us finished our food. Presentation was also well done. My favourite part was the buttery hash brown that came with the eggs benedict. Come right as it opens and try to get a seat, otherwise, you’ll likely have to wait.
May Z — Google review
This was highly recommend on social media for breakfast and it was for good reason! Although we had to wait outside for a good 25 min, nice we got a table, it was smooth sailing from there. The place itself is pretty small, but it's cozy. Our breakfast was delicious, those banana nut pancakes were to die for. Highly recommend, it's worth the wait.
Alesya K — Google review
Fried chicken benny was off the hook. The lemon blueberry pancake was delicious as well. Such crazy big portions. Could’ve easily fed a whole table of 4. The hashbrowns were different than what I’m used to but super delightful, almost like a mash potato on the inside and crispy on the outside. The sauce on the fried chicken benny was awesome too.
Vinny R — Google review
Probably the top 5 breakfast of my entire life. No joke.. We waited about 30 minutes to get in but TOTALLY worth it. My group ordered different dishes and none disappointed. The Tater Bowl, the Blue Buffalo Benedict, Strawberry Banana waffles and I had the daily special Westside Butter Chicken Skillet. Incredible experience, thinking about eating here again before leaving town 😁

It is am amazing place for brunch. The food is not only tasty but for the price the portion size are huge. Rarely I see such good portion sizes. They have good selection of brunch items and I will surely on my next visit try other items as all seem to be great. We tried the French Toast and the Egg Benedict. The service was amazing and very friendly. We luckily had 20 min waiting time as it was weekday and rainy day. The ambience is cozy and different but very likeable. One should surely visit it and I will do it again when back in Vancouver.

Le Petit Belge is a charming waffle restaurant located in Vancouver, offering a cozy and inviting atmosphere to enjoy traditional Belgian Brussels-style waffles and classic breakfast dishes. The star of the menu is the authentic Belgian waffles, known for their crispy exterior and fluffy interior. This quaint spot is perfect for gathering with friends or colleagues to savor local favorites and fresh comfort foods like sweet and savory waffles.
Wanted to try this place and was not disappointed. Walked in at opening time, coffee and drinks served quickly by friendly staff, brie waffles within 5 minutes. Waffles are crisp and light, which is great if you don’t want to feel stuffed as you walk out. The only complaint I have is the ordering before you sit down, with “asking for a tip” as you pay for food and service before you receive them. But the food and service were excellent
GlennD ( — Google review
We ordered Apple Cinnamon Waffle and Salmon Benny with Bagel, loved both. Food is so tasty and well presented, the atmosphere is very cozy and friendly.
C C — Google review
Upon entering, I was greeted by a cheerful and friendly staff member who pointed out the menu on the wall and explained that I could order and pay before sitting down. I chose smoked salmon eggs Benedict served on a waffle, along with a ginger lemongrass tea. After ordering, I was told I could sit anywhere, which was a nice touch. The dish arrived quickly, and the presentation was beautiful. The waffle was perfectly cooked—crisp on the outside and soft inside—which made me very happy. The portion of smoked salmon was good, and the eggs were perfectly medium-poached. However, the hollandaise was a bit underwhelming. It was smooth but lacked that light, lemony tang that usually brightens up an eggs Benedict. It’s a small detail, but one that can really elevate the dish. The potatoes, on the other hand, were excellent—I could have easily eaten more! The café itself has a cozy, peaceful vibe, especially the corner seating area by the window that offers a bit of privacy. One small note: as someone with family members who have pet allergies, I was a little concerned to see a cute puppy at a nearby table. While the puppy was adorable, it could be an issue for guests with allergies in a restaurant setting. It would be helpful if there was a sign at the entrance indicating that the café is pet-friendly, so customers can make an informed choice. Overall, it was a lovely experience with friendly service, a relaxed atmosphere, and beautifully presented food.

I chose the Veggie Bowl and really enjoyed it. The vegetarian options are delicious and well thought out. The place was quite busy, but I waited less than 5 minutes to be seated. The staff were attentive, friendly, and professional. I definitely recommend this spot for a satisfying and well-balanced brunch.

We ordered the English breakfast and the tortilla breakfast today. The English breakfast was good, unlike many other restaurants, the bacon wasn’t burnt and was cooked perfectly. The baked beans, though, were way too sweet! But the tortilla breakfast was honestly terrible. We had to order another English breakfast instead, and even though we barely touched the tortilla (just one slice), they didn’t refund us! And one more strange thing, you have to pay upfront when you order, including the tip. You can’t decide the tip based on the server’s service afterward!
Erfan B — Google review
I ordered take out and it was bad. The potatoes were cold and not smashed. The cheese potatoes were literally just boiled potatoes in a puddle of cheese. No butter on the toast or provided. Waffle was cold and flavorless. Hair in my food. Overall just bad. Wouldn’t recommend.

Crackle Creme is a charming and rustic-chic dessert cafe located in Vancouver, offering an array of innovative flavors of cre brulee, alongside authentic Belgian liege waffles and espresso drinks. The menu features an ever-changing selection of imaginative cre brulee flavors such as Salted Caramel, Pandan Coconut, Ferrero Rocher, and unique options like Vietnamese coffee and cereal milk.
Crackle Creme in Vancouver is a delightful little dessert shop that’s perfect for anyone with a sweet tooth! Their crème brûlée is absolutely heavenly—perfectly creamy with a flawlessly caramelized top. The variety of flavors is impressive, and each one is crafted with care and attention to detail. The atmosphere is cozy, and the staff are friendly and helpful, making the experience even better. It’s a great spot to treat yourself or share some indulgent desserts with friends. However, I did try their matcha latte and found that it had matcha crumbles in it, which wasn’t quite what I expected. While it didn’t ruin the drink, a smoother texture would have made it more enjoyable. That said, the overall experience at Crackle Creme was fantastic, and I’d highly recommend it for their signature crème brûlées and charming vibe! Just something to keep in mind if you’re ordering the matcha latte.

first time trying durian crème brûlée and wowow, would come back just for that but i want to try all the other flavours too! vietnamese coffee ice cream was super flavourful and strong. strawberry matcha latte was yummy. the cute macarons at the front are a cute trap!
Synthia S — Google review
I was introduced to this dessert cafe by a friend. They specialize in two things: character macarons and creme brulee, and also coffee and tea beverages. The creme brulee comes in an assortment of unique flavours. They have both regular and vegan creme brulee, and the vegan flavours are just as interesting and varied as the regular flavours. I got there a little early, so while waiting for my friend to arrive I had a Thai jasmine iced tea. This was really good - the rich creaminess and sweetness of Thai tea with a strong and fragrant jasmine green tea instead of the usual red. Once my friend got there, we ordered creme brulee. I got the vegan durian and she got the lychee yogurt flavour. We sampled each others' creme brulees and both were delicious! The lychee yogurt creme brulee tasted just like lychee yogurt bubble tea and even had coconut jelly pieces inside. I didn't notice a big difference in consistency between the vegan and non-vegan creme brulee. Really friendly staff. The shop is a little small, and unfortunately does not have a customer washroom, but there are some stools along a counter inside (with hooks underneath for bags and coats) and a few seats outside. This stretch of Union Street is one of the quieter commercial streets in Strathcona/Chinatown, and I would happily sit outside here on a nice day.
Dana S — Google review
Stopped by Crackle Crème on Union St for a dessert fix and it didn’t disappoint! The apple pie crème brûlée was spot on because it really captured that apple pie flavor, even the crust, without the crust texture (pretty cool, actually). The honey lavender was smooth and fragrant, though definitely a more mature flavor so the kids gave it a thumbs down. The alfajor was delicious but I wish it had that chocolate dip like they do in Argentina. The macarons were cute, just okay flavor-wise. I wished I had time to try some drinks but a charming little spot with creative twists on classic sweets.
Kelvin F — Google review
Wow! What an explosion of flavours. If you're craving sweet things, that's the spot for you. I finally found a place that makes a good Basque cheesecake. We also tried their icecream (Vietnamese coffee and chocolate) and it was super yummy. We'll definitely be back.
Gloria L — Google review
I heard about this shop on social media and decided to come in. It's a small shop and out front it has a few seats for patrons. I love it cause in the summer the dogs can hang out front. Daniel, the shop keeper, keeps it clean out front too. I saw him spraying down the side walk with hot water. Upon entering it's a cozy setup. Daniel is definitely a cartoon/car guy. He noticed my dogs inside my car as well, a dog lover. He's got a cute setup going on with his waffles and macarons up front, casual cafe menu, and a little fridge with cold drinks to grab and go. I brought a friend back and she ordered the waffle, oh man it was good! That waffle was better then cafe medinas, seriously. It's moist. Cafe medinas waffles are overhyped and a bit dry. I got the half dozen macarons and the characters are pretty cute lol. His concept definitely sells for originality. Classical culinary cooking modified to his own. Each character has its own flavor, for example, the keeropi frog is pistachio. The packaging is a clean and neat slide box, with a see through screen on top for viewing, very very cool. Price after taxes is 18 bucks for a half dozen, reasonable for the amount of work involved for a one man team. These make an amazing gift for someone.

I've been here more times than I can count! The creme brule is always delicious and unique. Cute cozy interior as well, a perfect place to head for dessert :)

We ordered three crème brûlées here, which were very interesting. It was my first time to eat it, but my friends had tried it. It had an interesting atmosphere and our order was prepared quickly. Just remember that there is usually no parking space on the main street and it is better to park your car in the surrounding alleys

Off the Grid Waffle Cafe is a modern takeaway spot in Vancouver that offers an enticing array of sweet and savory waffles, as well as breakfast and brunch options. The aroma of freshly cooked waffles fills the air, inviting visitors to indulge in their innovative creations. From classic chicken & waffles to delectable dessert waffles, the menu features a wide variety of choices.
We ordered the Deluxe Chicken N' Waffles with Bacon and Waffle Fries (#14 on their menu), a side of curly fries, and the garlic cheese dipping sauce. The meal was delicious and satisfying. I'm looking forward to returning to sample their drinks. One of the owners personally served us and was exceptionally friendly. They also have a selection of child-friendly board games, adding a fun touch for families. Like many local businesses, they face challenges staying afloat, and I hope they attract more customers soon.

I went here today with a few friends, we shared the waffle fries, garlic mac n cheese, and the strawberry waffles. Garlic Mac n cheese and strawberry waffles were really good and we LOVED the waffle fries. Super crispy and tasty. The strawberry lemonade was delicious. Everything is well priced and they have awesome student discounts!! The interior is so cozy, clean, and well decorated, and they have a bunch of games so we stayed for a while to play some cards, which I absolutely adored. Staff was super nice and the service was fast. Overall super great place and I can’t wait to come back for some comfort food!

the EPITOME of a comfort meal. this is officially one of my favourite bites in vancouver. i got the xl nashville chicken bowl and WOWWW was it good. the mac and cheese was so creamy, velvety, and was subtly spicy, which is great because i feel like usually people make the mac and cheese really bland. the nashville chicken on top was SUPER crispy and also juicy and it was like leaking out with this nice orangy spicy oil into the mac and cheese, enhancing the flavour. the cajun fries at the bottom didn’t add much though, just because they were kinda soggy and you couldn’t taste it with all the cheese sauce. another AMAZING part of the meal was the waffle fries — seriously SO crispy and so hot and warm and perfectly seasoned. dip it in their garlic cheese sauce and you are set for life. pro tip: put some mac and cheese and nashville chicken onto a waffle fry and eat it in one bite — it’s a perfect crunchy crispy juicy bite TRUST ME also the guy was super nice and the board games were really fun to play with while we waited, but the tables were a tad sticky. also great MASSIVE filling portions for a good price

Very homey atmosphere with friendly staff and delicious food. All food was very reasonably priced with enough options to always try something new without being overwhelmed with options. Daily and students specials are also worth checking out.
Mitchell N — Google review
Love the decor. The hostess/cashier was very friendly and was quick with anything we needed. The food was great flavour wise, my reason for the 4 is that the chicken had several chunks of off putting grizzle. If your gunna use chicken thighs you need to look them over and trim them of grizzle. Got the xl chicken bowl and the waffle chicken taco. Also the Mac and cheese was not very warm. Definitely want to come back for the milkshakes, dessert waffles and to try the chicken bombs
Sara-Jane — Google review
Ordered the fried chicken and curly fries , as well as a lavender lemonade - chicken was super crispy and delicious, as well as the curly fries . Amazed that they had so many potato iterations to choose from as a side dish - tatertots, waffle fries, garlic fries, hash brown, regular fries, and curly fries lol The lavender lemonade didn’t really taste anything like lavender so I wish I went with one of their milkshakes instead, which I was eyeing at neighbouring tables The cafe is very small - myself as a group of 6 came here on a rainy Saturday and miraculously were able to find seating . I was pleasantly surprised just how many board games were available - we ended up playing a game that we brought with us but it’d be great to play an in-house game the next time we visit again The lowest point to our visit was the incredibly slow service due to a single person working both as a cashier, cook and server - a simple fried chicken and curly fries order took over 40mins to be served . So hopefully staff plan better for the future, knowing that weekends will be way busier and require more ppl working to improve customer service Overall food and vibes were great and it’d be great to visit again and try more items on the menu
Pau-Lin N — Google review
The food was definitely the most memorable part (loved almost everything off the chicken and waffle menu) but it was also a clean and fun atmosphere with tons of great group games. My favourite dish was the chicken and waffle omelette.

Food: Absolutely phenomenal, everything was so flavourful and it was not sickening at all. I thought it will be overpowered and i would be bored of it quick but no!! me and my friends loved it and make sure to get to go for our family to try. The chicken was so crispy every bite and the mac & cheese it the spot. Service: It was a guy that served us our food and take our orders and he was very patient. Atmosphere: The restaurant was cozy and where we were sitting has games that we could play while waiting including cards, board games, and all other type of games to play. This place is truly incredible.

Just waffles is a gem. What I would call a hole in the wall place. A small tiny spot where the food is amazing. The food price was what you would expect now a days, however we got a lot of food. The waffles were perfect. Fluffy, crispy and perfect. The restaurant is very small but they do, do take out. Also they sell their waffles to go in a vacuumed sealed bag. The owners Kathy and Calvin Klein both came to make sure our food was perfect, and we were having a great time. Only reason I gave 4 stars for atmosphere is because it is very small, other then that it was 5 stars

Favorite breakfast spot in Vancouver, amazing food & better people from the first time I walked in, it felt like home. Well, a local and friendly spot. Good for kids to enjoy their favorite waffles. The lady at the counter (probably the owner) is very sociable and nice. The service is quite good. There were number of rules which were funny! There was a map hanging on the wall showing each customer's nationality. Overall, nice experience!

Don’t come. Soggy waffles. Way too sweet. Some red flags: we don’t see waffle station in the kitchen making fresh waffles, constant microwave beep and door open/close, what we got does not look like the pictures hung on the wall We ordered the BBQ pulled pork waffle and egg/ham waffle. BBQ pulled pork - The bbq sauce was overly sweet and the waffle was soggy. I ate less than half and couldn’t finish it bc it was way too sweet. The oil and sauce just oozes out when you start to cut into it. Egg/ham waffle - also very sweet bc they put syrup on the waffle under the ham.The egg looks and tastes like it was cooked via the microwave. $20 per waffle, not worth it They probably changed owners bc someone in our group came once before and said it used to be good.

Kathy and Calvin Klein (the owners) are super friendly and very approachable, they gave us a run through the menu and bottomless coffee which was a great start. The restaurant is quaint with cute decorations and a fun map with pins on it from every customers home - it was fun to add some pins in Ireland! The waffles were great but wasn’t a huge fan of the eggs benny. Probably the only place in the world that you can say that Calvin Klein served you waffles with alligator sausage on them so worth a visit!

Nestled in a breezy corner, Chewies Smoke & Oyster Bar Kitsilano is a charming eatery with an oyster bar that serves up Southern cuisine using local seafood and BC brews. Located near the beach, it's the perfect spot to indulge in fresh bivalves and savor buttermilk fried chicken. The restaurant also offers well-made cocktails and hosts special events with incredible attention to detail.
My first dine out experience here was really good. Service and vibe of the place is absolutely chill - which means it can take some time for your order to come to your table but you are expected to sit back and relax. Cocktails are well made, you can see them curating for you behind the open bar We tried the dine out menu which was well done. Calamari for the starters was a really good option - crispy and done just the right way. Butternut squash ravioli with shrimps was good but the highlight was their lamb shank - absolutely delicious! One of the best that i have had in a long time. The desserts weren’t the best so maybe avoid. Surely coming back for their speciality nights over the weekdays and some views of the water.

My partner and I had dinner here on April 1. My friend who used to live in Vancouver told me about this place. It was a little before 7pm on Tuesday, but it was already packed with people. Only a few tables were available. The gentlemen were both chatty and friendly. The oysters and fish and chips were delicious. My partner said the burger was huge and tasty as well. I just think they need to clean better when they have time. Also, our table and the table next to ours were slanted so I think they need to fix them. Overall we had a good experience here.
Bon B — Google review
Came here with friends for the dine out menu ($35) on a weekday for dinner. The calamari was tender and tasty. The stuffed salmon and prawn roll, while moist and tender, didn't come with any prawns that we could detect. The lamb shank was a good portion and tasty. The lobster ravioli was decent with a parmesan scent, slightly sweet from the squash, and was the smallest entree of the three. For dessert, the caramel pudding was creamy but tiny. The 'chocolate cake with whipped cream and fruit' didn't come with fruit and the 'cinnamon churros with ice cream' didn't come with ice cream and was a bit dry. The service was friendly but the food came out slow (it took 30 min for the dessert to come out). Overall the food tasted decent but some of the dishes were not as described.
Ca L — Google review
The seafood pasta here is both delicious and quite affordable compared to similar dishes elsewhere. The outdoor seating is very cute, but would recommend getting a reservation for those tables on busy nights. The staff was very kind and attentive, while not being overbearing. Limited free parking as it is in the heart of the kits-beach area.

The oysters were great, ate half local, half east coast premium ones. Both were excellent. Also, the calamari was soft and perfectly done (not over cooked). Will definitely return. Music selection was great and really added to the ambiance. Staff was welcoming and we had nice interactions. Recommended dish....well oysters of course!

Epic West Coast vibe with skilled shuckers who are a blast to watch from the bar. Great staff, fresh and tasty oysters, and a laid-back atmosphere that feels authentic. Vancouver needs more true spots like this – and fewer pretentious, overdone ones. Oh and don't miss out on their Margs!

We always get a bit nervous when trying a new burger. They can be great, but more often they’re a disappointment, and we end up wishing we’d gone to a place we know. We were in the area and hungry, and as we passed Portland Craft we figured we’d give it a shot. That was a good call. We got the Portland Burger due to the larger patty, since we always share a burger. It was a solid choice – the kitchen staff absolutely know what makes a good burger. The meat was juicy, plentiful, and perfectly cooked, the tomatoes fresh and colourful, the bacon crisp, and the garlic aioli gave the whole delicious mess a burst of flavour that ensured we’ll be stopping by again in the near future. Also, the fries were plentiful, perfectly salted, and yummy. Bonus points for a nice clean bathroom, but two issues were disappointing – the service was non-existent, and the tip screen starts at 18%. The irony of that hopefully isn’t lost on the owners. Your lowest tip should be 15% – 18% is both presumptuous and greedy. If the service is really exceptional it’s nice to have 18% as an option to show our gratitude, but it's not the starting point for a burger/brewery spot. Especially as our server never stopped by even once to check on us, leaving us to bring our ketchup cup inside ourselves to find another staff member to refill it. What exactly am I leaving an 18% tip for? Or any tip for that matter? That said, I’ll again praise the kitchen staff for being very good at what they do – if their other menu items are as good as the burger, Portland Craft is absolutely worth repeat visits.

Perfect spot for happy hour and dinner! Excellent food with lot of selections of local beer. Also an awesome place to watch sports

Came here this past Saturday night for karaoke for a friend's birthday. The atmosphere was good. People were friendly. The server was good. He was attentive and patient. The karaoke DJ was the only bad part of our visit. - Lied that he didn't put up names of upcoming singers in my party on screen when me and my party saw it with our own eyes. - Chewed out my party in front of the whole place on hot mic for not being able to get to the stage quick enough for our group song. We had to walk in the dark from the other end in a full venue. Not like we can wait next to the DJ.

Stopped by for a drink in happy hour. Decent prices - $8 for an aperol spritz, although my partner got a $6 beer that was put on the receipt as 7.50. I'm guessing he got a larger one but it wasn't communicated, service was alright, tip started at 18%

O stars, this place has gone downhill. Small portion size and processed cheese in my $21 chicken pesto sandwich. Paid $113 in total for me and my friend. I asked about happy hour and the sever told me it starts at either 9 or 10pm? Really!
Dan L — Google review
We came for the comedy show which was great ! But we were disappointed a few items we tried ordering they were out of.. and we got there at like 6pm.. I also felt our server could've been a bit more attentive and paid attention to our empty drinks we had to chase her down for refills
K R — Google review
I’ve been here before and don’t recall it being this disappointing. Went in for some food and drink around dinner. Almost left before the drinks were even served. Had so many servers wait on us, yet not one seemed responsible for our table. Between all of them, they couldn’t really answer standard questions like “what non-alcoholic beer do you have?” or “what was the sauce on the side of the cauliflower?” - with which I received the answer “Oh that’s all the kitchen, I don’t actually know”….Okayyy, after working in the service industry for so long, either you know the answer or you find out, you don’t jokingly brush it off and walk away. Food was a bit over priced for the portions, however I will say the flavour was good in cauliflower bites and Quinoa Greek salad. One gentleman, might have been the manager, made up for the experience with his kindness, but I likely won’t be returning any time soon.

If you're craving authentic Dutch cuisine, the Dutch Wooden Shoe Cafe in Vancouver is the place to go. This charming waffle restaurant offers traditional Pannekoek and waffles in a cozy atmosphere. Their Pannekoek is a must-try dish for waffle enthusiasts, as it's a large and thin pancake with a variety of delicious toppings to choose from. The waffles at this cafe are also fantastic, with an amazing taste and texture similar to freshly made mini doughnuts.
Such a great little brunch gem in the city! I was really craving pannekoek and this place absolutely delivered. The Farmer’s option was loaded with plenty of meat, and the garlic chili hot sauce was a must-try—so good!
Jason P — Google review
Walking into this café felt like stepping straight into a 1980s European road trip, but not the cool, nostalgic kind—the kind where your tour bus breaks down, and you’re forced to eat at the only place within a 10-mile radius. The décor screams “IKEA met a flea market and they decided to live together forever.” Our server was friendly but had the attention to detail of a goldfish. I asked for water—she brought exactly one glass, as if hydration is a privilege, not a right. My husband requested coffee refills for both of us, and she enthusiastically topped up only his cup, leaving mine tragically empty like my dreams of a hot, delicious brew. Speaking of coffee, it was cold and uninspiring, much like the customer service training this place probably skipped. And just when I thought I could salvage the situation with some sugar, she swooped in, snatched our teaspoons, and vanished into the chaos of the café, leaving us to stir our coffee with sheer willpower. To be fair, she was running around like a contestant on a reality show called “Canada’s Next Top Multitasker”—seating guests, taking payments, and cleaning tables all at once. I almost wanted to cheer her on, but I was too distracted by my lukewarm coffee and the faint scent of regret. The food? It was…fine. Edible. Not offensive. But if you told me I had to eat here again, I’d probably fake a food allergy just to get out of it. Overall, Dutch Wooden Shoe Café is a great place if you love retro décor, accidental fasting, and watching your server play a real-life version of The Sims on high speed. Otherwise, maybe just grab a coffee somewhere else—one where they acknowledge that two people at a table might both be thirsty.

The food was good. Their pancake is unique and the portion is sizeable and will fill you up. I think the price is actually fair and I liked the indoor decor.

Unlike many brunch places nowadays, Dutch Wooden Cafe exudes traditional and quirky decors with guests’ pictures, wooden shoes, and other Dutch home decorations. Food portions were huge, we ordered 3 dishes for 5 people and couldn’t finish. Everything was just okay, didn’t really match my expectations. Bali Bali Pannekoek ($16.95) 4/10 Yeah, this one didn’t quite work out the way I expected. I am usually a fan of sweet savoury combo, and coming from Indonesia, this seems like an obvious choice, but the combination was just all over the place. The truly bizarre thing was the banana, really didn’t go with anything else. Mixed Fruits and Chocolate Pannekoek ($15.95) 6/10 Our table agreed that this one was the best out of what we ordered. They did give us a lot of fruits but the chocolate syrup tasted like it was bought straight from grocery store. Poffertjes ($12) 5/10 Another letdown with how tough the dough was. I also saw that the poffertjes was quite burnt.

The menu features a variety of delectable dishes such as parsnip fries, house-cured bacon, chicken and waffles with fluffy waffles and succulent buttermilk fried chicken breast topped with gravy and sunny eggs.
Incredible! The best service we've received in Vancouver! Glasses were always topped up, food was quickly ordered and also served in excellent time and the staff were consistently happy, friendly and bubbly. The food in a word: Divine! We ordered the Pulled Pork Waffles with Maple (pictured) which hit every sweet & salty note perfectly, and also ordered the Vegetarian option of poached eggs with minted pea mash on crusty ciabatta: sublime! Those alongside the ice cold Mimosas, happy staff and a buzzing Sunday morning vibe became the best brunch we have been to so far! Thank you!

The place and service is very nice. Waffle fried chicken is pretty good especially the chicken is very crispy and moist. Fried cabbage and eggs are great! The shrimps and grit...I don't really like it... Shrimps don't have taste and the grit is too rich for me even though it has really good taste to me... You might find it really good if you like rich grit!

Delicious brunch. Fried bacon and eggs were yummy. Huge portion of chicken and waffles! Farmer's skillet was tasty too. Came back for dinner with my co-workers and it didn't disappoint! Great drinks and delicious food! I'm coming back for more and I'm sure my coworkers are too!
Jo L — Google review
Atmosphere was great with a modern hipster vibe and the food was good too! The chicken and waffles are a big portion so I’d recommend splitting it with someone. The chicken itself was juicy but I wish they where more liberal with the sauce. The skillet was very savoury which is what we were looking for and I’d come again to try some of their other dishes.

Delicious meat forward farm to table dining, amazing meat plates including elk carpaccio, charcuterie plate, steak, pork. One salad on the menu which was a beet, kale salad. Outstanding cocktail variety, very well balanced. Good wine selection, along with local beers. Seating is comfortable! Dining room and mezzanine up the stairs. Reservations accepted. Service was a little slow, I don’t like to see my drink empty. Waitress was knowledgeable about the offerings! I did find the 12oz steak very fatty, but the carpaccio was amazing. Open for brunch!
Sarah G — Google review
Pretty hip and modern restaurant. Good selection of beers, cocktails were decent. Service was pretty friendly. I didn't really have anything wrong with the restaurant but at the same time nothing really "wow"ed our group. The horseradish puree steak was lacking any punch, the "pickled veggies" were nothing more than veggies covered in vinegar, and the fries were shoestring and kind of lame. Overall a decent experience.
Cameron L — Google review
This is quite an amazing restaurant. The menu is short but solid. The fried egg is just a piece of art. I would come back just for that. The steak and frites is outstanding and the brie and elk carpaccio were to die for. Definitely on the best in Vancouver and gastown. Definitely coming back. Be sure to make reservation. Great place!!!

We hit up this spot for brunch on Sunday, probably around noon, and it was still buzzing! The guy at the entrance who took our names was awesome. The place itself is really nice, I loved the rustic decor and the food was super tasty. It was such a bummer we missed out on the shakshuka, though – they'd already run out! The salad dressing, in particular, was fantastic. My only gripe is that the portions felt a bit small for the price, especially for brunch. We actually left still pretty hungry.
Gloria L — Google review
Service was amazing. Surprised there was no wait on a Saturday around noon. Very friendly and attentive staff. Very genuine people. The hot sauces are made in house and absolutely delicious. Even bought one to take home! My only slight complaint was the brioche became extremely soggy very quickly, but the benny was still very good. I am happy that I asked for medium poached and actually got what I asked for. Would still recommend and definitely will come back!

My favourite brunch place in Vancouver! I loved it so much I came back again during my short stay in the city. They have indoor and outdoor seating and the staff is super friendly. Wi-Fi is available for customers. The only negative is that they offer filter coffee (no lattes or cappuccinos), but it’s not a massive issue as there is a lot of choice around if needed (Revolver nearby is great). I tried the fruit salad with cheese scones and the baked eggs. My friend had shakshouka. Everything was delicious. Highly recommended!
Anne L — Google review
First time after relocation, and loved it. It has very Gastown atmosphere, antique & classic with a bit of character. Service was very friendly & polite, not too much, not too less, perfectly enough. Food was fantastic. I had Shaksuka (like Eggs in hell), and it was the best one I had in town. The tomato sauce with lots of veggie has a lot of flavour, and it was very tasty! It was not just simple tomato sauce with some light ingredient like a lot of Vancouver brunch restaurants make. All the little condiments were very flavourful, not just fillers. My friend had eggs benny, and it was great. The server suggested to have the benny with their house made sourdough, and my friend loved it. Perfect place to enjoy the Gastown street view when you seat at the patio. Definitely will go back.
Mia Y — Google review
Exceptional good breakfast in a prime relaxed eating location in Gastown to eat on the patio and people watch. Shakshuka eggs were delicious, and baked eggs were also superb. Coffee was good and a full cafetiere! Unisex toilets were clean and nice, but the door locks on both were nervously unreliable and need fixing 😬

This fifties-style eatery features vintage memorabilia and mini jukeboxes lining the booths, creating a retro ambiance. The menu offers a mix of classic breakfast favorites like eggs, bacon, and buttermilk pancakes as well as modern options such as organic burgers and avocado toast.
Our family’s all time favorite place to go! The service is always impeccable. The food is stunning, flavorful, fresh and always hits the right spot. I really don’t know how they do it each and every time. My go to dishes: smoked salmon benny, mushroom cheddar burger, mangled eggs. My partner’s favorites: bbb burger, buttermilk pancakes full combo (always ask for their house made whipped cream, trust me you’ll love it). Guys, you are a legend, stay the same you are! 🥇

We woke up on a rainy Sunday and thought “we need diner food” and boy did the Templeton DELIVER! Every inch of the place was covered in charm!! It was the perfect diner experience, we sat at the bar had delicious food! My husband got the French toast and I got the trucker breakfast! We did get the last two seats before a line formed out the door, so be mindful you might have to wait but it’s worth it for diner lovers like us!!

Arrived a few minutes before opening and the diner was already almost completely full. We got one of the last 2 tables available. A decent sized line then formed outside. Service was great and food was delicious. Both of us had the Mangled Eggs. Would definitely recommend this as a place to hit for breakfast or brunch in Vancouver.
Pauline C — Google review
I came to this place after seeing it had a lot of good reviews. Honestly, I don't understand why. I think its because the whole dinner decoration with the juke boxes. Other than that, nothing impressive with the food. The place was packed so my food took about 30 min to come. Not sure it was worth the wait.
Carlos C — Google review
Old fashion style diner located on Granville Street. Gets busy during lunch time since they close up at 3:00pm, mainly catering to the neighborhood crowd. Portable old fashion jukeboxes on each table, too bad none are functioning, only for show, could have used a little Elvis Presley during my meal. Service staff so complimented the diner atmosphere, smiley, friendly, hustling used plates off the tables and eagerly waiting for their returning daily familiar customers. Ordered the classic benny and huevos rancheros. Hollandaise sauce on the benny was excellent with a slight lemon tanginess. Eggs runny, smoked ham on a crispy muffin. Heaven's perfect breakfast creation. Huevos rancheros could use improvement. Scrambled eggs with green pepper and onions could have used some additional seasoning. Black beans didn't seem fresh but then again I'm not a black bean expert, rosemary potatoes were crispy with a moist center. The retro vibe was 5 star, I was expecting retro .25 drinks and $5 breakfasts but alas inflation is an unstoppable monster in our everyday lives.
John Y — Google review
This place had been around since the 30s. Super cute old diner with the old school decor. Service was great, breakfast was just ok. Also to get to the bathroom you have to walk through the kitchen. That was a little uncomfortable. I am glad we went and tried it out. Worth checking out.

Cool diner setting with red booths and counter stools, like an old fashioned American diner. Large portions of food which tasted great and bottomless coffee. It's cozy with really good service. We ordered: • Steak tartare: flavorful, but the chips alongside made it a bit heavy for midday. • Foie gras Monte Cristo: rich, smooth and fun, though pairing it with the French toast (plus the chips from tartare) had us feeling a little weighed down. • Duck confit: tender and savory, easily one of the standouts among all the dishes we had. • Steak: 👌 • Crème brûlée Definitely not the lightest lunch, but worth it for the cozy bistro vibes, great flavors, and amazing service.

Havana Vancouver, located on the lively Commercial Drive, is a popular spot offering modern Latin cuisine and Caribbean drinks. The menu features dishes like twice-fried plantains, Pacific snapper ceviche, grilled octopus, Cubano sandwiches, carnitas tacos, and Calle Ocho salad.
Pretty impressive place. We went to a show near by and popped in here for happy hour afterwards. We had the: Ceviche ($14) - Delicious. Very well seasoned, not overly citrusy like some. They served it with corn tortilla chips and plantain chips. Tripled Cooked Fries ($5) - Well seasoned and sauce was different. 1212 Burger ($13) - No sides, because it was a happy hour item, but it was one of the better burgers that I have had. Very juicy and tastes great. Mussels Espana ($14) - It was 1/2 lbs, but a great sauce, with a side of garlic toast. Sparkling Sangria ($12) - The star of the show. They were very generous with their alcohol or it was very strong alcohol. Lol Cheeky Tiki ($8) - Came in a very cute pineapple glass which tasted absolutely amazing. Service was wonderful. Our server was extremely attentive and was also the one to make out drinks as well and kept filling up out water jug. Overall great experience and great prices for happy hour. Would definitely come back and try other stuff.

Went to Havana for spontaneous brunch plans. We went during Sunday afternoon and were seated on the patio with no wait time. The service was friendly and our server was attentive. The music was slightly too loud for me, but we were still able to talk over it. I ended up ordering the Croque Señora, and it was delicious! Pros: the hollandaise sauce on top was buttery, decadent, and finger lickin’ good. Cons: ordering a litre of hollandaise sauce was unfortunately not an option.

🎵Half of my heart is in Havana, ooh-na-na She took me back to North Commercial, ooh na-na-na🎵 We had reservations at 6 PM, and upon checking in, were informed that our dining time was limited to two hours. I typically frown upon time restrictions and immediately felt compelled to dock half a star. It already impacts the dining experience, so the food and service really need to impress to make up for it. Fast forward: when we left, there were still plenty of open tables. But let’s set that aside for now. To start, I had a Coke and she ordered a Mojito—which she said was excellent. For appetizers, we went with the Ceviche. It was delicious, especially paired with the plantains and chips—a nice touch. If I were to compare it with the Ceviche from Cactus Club, I’d give the edge to Cactus due to its presentation. Havana’s version was a bit soupy (see photo), but the flavor was spot on. For our mains, we had the Pulled Pork Enchiladas and the Paella. These two dishes—especially the Paella—redeemed that half-star deduction, making the overall experience a solid 5 stars. She had the enchiladas (I got a taste—very good), and I had the Paella. Honestly, outside of Spain, this might be my number one. The texture of the rice was perfect—not too soft, not too firm—the seasoning was on point, and the seafood portion was generous. It was my first time at Havana, and I wish I could’ve tried everything on the menu. Definitely a reason to come back. Highly recommended—but be sure to call ahead for reservations. Cheers!

Happened to pass by & I was so drawn in by the decor that I just had to stop and eat. So glad I did because the food was incredibly delicious, the whole place was beautiful and I had the most lovely experience with staff. I ordered the chorizo hash and it was amazing, so flavourful, it wasn't plain at all and the potatoes and eggs were cooked perfectly. I do wish there was more chorizo, I saw more beef than chorizo but I honestly did not mind too much because the portion of the meal itself was so filling. As for the staff, they are so so sweet. I went when it wasnt very busy so that definitely helped. But they were so attentive, many of the things I wanted & needed I did not need to say or ask for over and over. For example I was there with another person and seeing that we only ordered one thing they made the initiative to say “I’ve asked the kitchen to separate the meal into two plates for you” Thank you 🙏 I wasn’t upset at the price I paid either, $22 for the chorizo hash was honestly a deal. Staff left with a $7 tip that day haha. & again its just so wonderfully decorated. The view across of the park was great too.

Perfect restaurant to go for a late summer day dinner. When I think of a restaurant on the "Drive" I always think of Havana. The sidewalk patio is one of the best in Vancouver. This time I had three servers serve us. Two due to work shift overlap. All three; Jenna, Rey and Laura were wonderful. Food was good, drinks were good.....

Food, drinks and atmosphere were good. Service needs a lot of improvement. Had to wait a while for getting our order taken and ask multiple times for water refill. Waitresses seemed to be busy enjoying the party atmosphere rather than trying to attend to customers.

Just wanted to give a huge shout-out to the amazing black waitress with the fabulous hair (unfortunately, I did not get her name)! Our group absolutely loved her — she was fantastic and truly excels at her job. Her service was excellent, and she brought such a positive, welcoming energy to the table. She checked on us regularly, kept our waters filled without us asking, and made sure everything came out quickly and smoothly. Honestly, there’s nothing negative to say. Please, clone her — she’s amazing! And of course, the food was delicious (as its always)

Located on Vancouver's Main Street, The Acorn is a stylish and award-winning restaurant that specializes in vegetarian and vegan cuisine. It offers a brunch menu on weekends featuring innovative dishes made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The a la carte menu includes options like smoked tomato spread and tempura asparagus, while the chef's menu offers a multi-course family-style experience showcasing seasonal and local ingredients.
Vegetarian and vegan friends: do not walk, RUN to acorn! Me (vegetarian) and my vegan partner got the chefs tasting menu and WOW!!!! I ate some of the best food of my life! I was amazed at how full I was after eating an entirely vegan meal too! We did the wine pairing and it was fine, i'd recommend splitting one between two people. The one (small) drawback is that the space is small and we were basically on top of the table next to us, but again, you don't need to talk much when you're eating the best food of your life. Absolutely worth every penny.

I was in Vancouver for one night and the concert I came for was cancelled so thought I’d do something special to make the trip worthwhile. I did the Chefs Tasting Menu (vegan) and it was probably one of the best meals of my life. I thought the price of $85 was really reasonable for the quality of food (impeccable) and the amount (12 dishes, albeit small, which was perfect). My favourites were the tomato (cold soup with pasta made from the tomato leaves), the cucumber and the raspberry (dessert). Service was great and I’d love to come back here!

My friends and I booked a reservation for my birthday to try the chefs tasting menu. We were all blown away by the end of the night. We shared 10 different plant-based dishes, all with incredibly unique flavours based on local and seasonal ingredients. The portions were great for the 3 of us. The pace of everything was perfect and our server did an awesome job of explaining the dishes. The cocktail and wine options were also a highlight. One of the best plant based restaurants I have ever tried and I would recommend it to anyone.

Really fun vibe and atmosphere. Very friendly wait staff. My biggest issue with vegetarian tasting menus at higher end restaurants is that you always leave hungry. But not here. Food was tasty, inventive, and also included a lot of hearty starches. Think sourdough bread, potatoes, pasta as the base for many of the dishes. I skipped breakfast and lunch, but was absolutely stuffed at the end of the meal.

Acorn was a really good vegetarian experience. We tried some interesting stuff but my favorites were the mushroom pate and risotto. Ambiance is really cool and also the local wines I tried were all delicious. Our only issue was with our server- she forgot about us for like 20 minutes after seating us- no water, no drinks. Service didn’t get any better after and she also forgot to place our second order of drinks. But anyway, food was great and I’d recommend people to try it out!

I was really excited to eat at a Michelin Star vegetarian/vegan restaurant. I left hungry though as most of the vegan options were literally just veggies and sauces. I had to go to another restaurant down at my hotel to eat some bread to fulfil my hunger pangs. I would appreciate if they could introduce some fulfilling and satisfying vegan options. However I have had one of the best deserts in a while and loved eating that.

Modern French restaurant
Tour De Feast is a charming family-run restaurant located in a quiet North Vancouver neighborhood. The eatery boasts contemporary decor and offers traditional French dishes such as cassoulet and braised beef. Known for its excellent brunch options, the restaurant provides a simple modern atmosphere that appeals to both locals and tourists. With a reputation for consistency and attention to detail, Tour De Feast has become one of the best-hidden gems on the North Shore.
It is the kind of place that proves you don’t need elaborate decor when you have food that actually tastes good. Minimalist would be an understatement, if you’re looking for chandeliers and mood lighting, look elsewhere. If you’re looking for a meal that reminds you life can still have meaning, pull up a chair. We went for lunch and had the Smoked Salmon, Duck Confit Cassoulet, Mushroom Omelette, Full French, and Tomato and Mushroom Soups. Each dish was layered with flavor, carefully prepared, and frankly, better than we deserve. Service is friendly, the atmosphere is warm, and the parking is a survival game with only three spots, may the odds be ever in your favor. But once inside, you’ll be too busy enjoying the food to care. A properly good meal, no frills necessary.

We usually come here for dinner but thought we could try their breakfast/lunch as well. Well..it didn't disappoint. Loved the steak, omelet, and salmon sandwich my husband and I shared. A little hidden gem restaurant in a quiet North Vancouver neighborhood. The decoration of the restaurant is quite simple. For a small restaurant, it will be better if it has a more cozy decoration with warm atmosphere. The flavor of foir gras terrine is too strong for me but the duck breast taste perfect, it's tender inside and crispy skin outside. Server is friendly and welcoming.

Brunch restaurant
OEB Breakfast Co. in Yaletown, Vancouver is a top downtown spot that elevates breakfast and brunch with innovative and passionate culinary creations. The restaurant offers stunning views of False Creek, making it an ideal place to savor a delicious meal while taking in the waterfront scenery. Popular menu items include The Gold Digga and The One That Did Not Get Away, both of which showcase the restaurant's commitment to creativity and quality ingredients.
The food at this restaurant was excellent, but our experience with our specific server was disappointing. After waiting a while for our order to be taken, our server, Jasmine M., was completely absent until we had finished our meal. We waited for 35 minutes without any water or acknowledgement. Fortunately, three other servers later noticed and stepped in to help, bringing us food, water, and checking in on us. The food itself was fantastic—we cleared our plates! The short rib poutine is missing in our photos.

Went there for brunch with friends plus an infant and the place was very accommodating to our group. Although there was no wait, finding a nearby spot to park was difficult. The server recommended the non alcoholic Yuzu drink which I found it kind of disappointing for the price. Service was pretty standard so I'm giving it a low 4. The brunch options were pretty decent and poached eggs were done extremely well. One of the lobster options we chose was a bit disappointing as it was mixed more with small shrimp than actual lobster. For that experience, the food is solid 4. The atmosphere was pretty good and the washrooms were very clean. Solid 5 for the atmosphere. Overall, I will give this place another try if parking wasn't so inconvenient.

I ordered the breakfast Sammy. It was delicious!! The only thing is that they took too long to bring the food and the umbrellas didn’t protect us from the sun. Besides that, good service and amazing food! UPDATE: I was invited again to OEB. Thank you William, it was great meeting you and be back. The food, as always is amazing, you cannot go wrong. The staff are the nicest you’ll find in vancouver. Great attitude and always making you feel welcome. However, I had the same problem with the sunlight, even though I was seated inside, the sunlight hit me directly in the face. Also they took a lot of time to bring the food. I waited like 20 min for a coffee refill and had to asked three times to two different servers. Overall, the food is amazing and the staff are super nice. I will just improve the food times and the sunlight.

The food was awesome, but in my case I wish it have more vegan options 🥲 I had an avocado toast and my husband had the falafel option (without the bun, and they didn’t have another vegan bread, which we didn’t get it because my order was vegan and had toast 😅). I also ordered the berry smoothie, which tasted very good :)

Juke Fried Chicken is a trendy kitchen and bar located in Chinatown, offering a stylish loft-like space to enjoy their delicious fried chicken platters and sandwiches. They are known for their superlative chicken and the mantra that 'two sandwiches are always better than one.' The establishment also offers gluten-free fried chicken, ribs, and sides that hit the spot.
Great gluten friendly place!! The whole menu is gluten free apart from some of the burger buns. The happy hour menu is an absolute must. For a reasonably priced cocktail, includes 2 pieces of fried chicken as well! Starting at just $7.50. Happy hour is from 4pm-6pm I believe. The bartenders were incredibly welcoming and helpful. The fried chicken was great, very juicy, the breading could be a bit thicker but was tasty nonetheless. My favourite was the mac n cheese. It was so cheesy and thick, and had crispy cheese broiled on top. The popcorn chicken was surprisingly filling and highly recommended.

Was very excited to try this restaurant out, but was concerned after reading the mixed reviews. The food is INCREDIBLE - the gf fried chicken is fantastic and juicy. The fries were yummy too. The gravy is thin (could be thicker) but has amazing flavour. We would recommend taking your food to go based on the area and small amount of seating.

We went to watch a matinee at the International Village and was looking for a place close by for early dinner after the movie. A friend had recommended Juke a while ago so it was time to give it a try. There was a good selection of foods and drinks. We were also very pleasantly surprised to see the offering on the happy hour menu. A cocktail or beer plus 2 pieces of chicken (on the first drink) for only $10!. I think this is the best happy hour deal we have seen. We each ordered our own happy hour sets and shared an order of hush puppies and an order of fries. My Eraserhead was delicious. The fried chicken pieces were crispy and juicy. They could be a little warmer though. Fries were good too. Hush puppies were good but I don't think the ones here are made with cornmeal. I want to come back to try the wings. I will definitely pay my friend's recommendation forward.

Gluten free fried chicken? Heck ya! I made a stop here on the way to the airport for some snacks (chicken skins & popcorn chicken with an ice tea). Sooooo yum, allergy & celiac friendly! I wish we had a place like this in Montreal, fresh food, friendly service and absolutely delicious! I’d come back for this alone.

I tried the whole pieces of fries chicken, chicken nuggets, popcorn chicken, ribs, and fries. Chicken was amazing. Best gluten-free breading I've ever had. The breading is crispy, light, and has some sort of zesty seasoning. The meat itself is flavorful, likely brined. All in all, not greasy at all. The fries were good as well. The ribs weren't great. They were dry (baked too long or not covered while being baked) and the flavors weren't very punchy.
Hello W — Google review
I'm not sure to understand the hype about this place. I've been recommended to try Juke Fried Chicken many times and finally came as I was starving and craving for fried chicken. I took a platter for two for $39, including 5 pieces of chicken, mac and cheese, hush puppies and I chose corn on the cob as side. The chicken: was dry (I read comments about them being juicy but that's definitely not what I had), and lots of clog of under-cooked batter. Got 3 drumsticks and 2 thighs. All the edges of the mac and cheese was so dry that you'd better have a good jaw to chew and not break a tooth on it. Looks like it has been cooked and stored for a while. The middle part was good but nothing extraordinary. It's the first time I had hush puppies in my life. They're tasty and a nice discovery. Be advised that the corn on the cob are topped up with some herbs and spices that may not be at everyone's taste - I personally didn't like it. Also I was not advised it would be a little spicy while I said when choosing the sauces that I couldn't handle spicy food at all. They could have told me about the corn. Overall I was very disappointed, I expected to have a great dinner but this was way below my expectations.

Breakfast Table South Granville is a delightful haven for breakfast lovers, offering a cozy atmosphere where comfort food takes center stage. This charming eatery prides itself on using locally sourced ingredients to create mouthwatering dishes that are as visually appealing as they are delicious. From classic options like the hearty Hangover plate featuring eggs, sausage, bacon, and a mini waffle to innovative choices such as the Hipster Benedict with poached eggs and house-made peppered bacon, there's something for everyone.
Enjoyed a soul satisfying Saturday morning brunch at Breakfast Table on South Granville recently. It was packed and we were told the wait will be 15-minutes. I thought to myself that means it will be 30-45 minutes (*rolls eyes*) especially given that 6 sets of people were ahead of us. So I was shocked when they actually texted us 15 minutes later that our table was ready!! Our server Natalia was so nice and helpful. We both ordered the “Hangover” breakfast (see my pic) that was $22 which was great value in my opinion and delicious. The bacon was next level. Both sausage options the pork and leek and chicken sun dried tomatoes were great and the waffles were a nice touch. The restaurant was absolutely packed and the staff were very efficient and navigated everything really well including 2 super cute wandering toddlers..lol. Would definitely go back again.

Very pleasant breakfast spot. The coffee was good and the service excellent. Instead of providing jam and butter automatically, the server asked us if we wanted any - a good practice other places would go well to follow as it avoids unnecessary waste. The food was good, as was the dessert. There is a charming outdoor patio which we will try next time.

We had a lovely breakfast here and everything was delicious! We ordered the dirty fries, gluten-free waffle with coconut cream, and an omelette and each dish was fantastic. Great food and great service, definitely coming back!

Deacon's Corner is a popular diner known for its generous portions of classic breakfast and lunch dishes served in a nostalgic setting. The cozy and cheerful spot, located in Kitsilano, offers a wide range of comfort food options such as pulled pork Montecristo and veggie scramble. While the Gastown location features classic breakfasts, it also offers southern-inspired plates like Chapel Hill and Chicken Biscuit or the Big Mountie with unique combinations of ingredients.
Tucked just off the touristy area of Gastown, this gem is one you should visit. A neighborhood fave that never disappoints, serving large portions of comfort food for the soul. Staff are welcoming and efficient, nothing is too much trouble and they have great suggestions and specials. Refills of their delicious coffee are offered before your cup is empty, at no extra charge. The pancakes are excellent, as is the French toast. Try the scramble, it’s also great and generously stuffed with goodies. Highly recommended when you are in the area .

deacons corner is such a gem with yummy delectable delicious food all around, as well as generous and filling portions. the pancakes were some of the best i’ve ever had — they were so perfectly eggy and fluffy and tasted SOOOO good with some butter and maple syrup. they were also HUGE and a good thickness. the powdered sugar on top was also a nice touch. the big mountie was also fantastic. the french toast was incredibly thick, and i loved how the juice that OOZED from the pulled pork (drenching the toast), the syrup, and the egg wash made it a bit soggy and mushy (in the best way). speaking of the maple syrup, it was SO gooey and SO good paired with EVERYTHINGGG. it had a hint of cinnamon flavour that really enhanced everything it touched. as i said, the pulled pork is your classic diner sweet pulled pork, but somehow even juicier. i loved the fried chicken even more, which was salty and peppery and warm underneath the stacks of french toast. although i do wish the chicken was a bit thicker or bigger. also i totally recommend putting some of their hot sauce on the eggs — it was so spicy and gave such a nice KICK, and really shook up the flavour. the biscuits were also quite yummy, as they were fluffy and soft and so good with the salty butter melted in. however, they did get a little bit dry and definitely aren’t the beSt biscuits i’ve had. i also wish the exterior was a bit crunchier/baked more maybe? the blueberry pie was pretty good, with a nice and buttery crust, but i think there was too much filling. the blueberry was kind of sour and overpowering, and although the ice cream did balance it out a bit with its sweet dairy creaminess, i prefer pies with a bigger emphasis on the crust.

Loved everything about this cozy brunch spot in Gastown! Started with a warm peppermint tea that set the mood just right. We had the Chicken Club Sandwich and Deacon’s Chicken Burger—both fresh, tasty, and satisfying. The yam fries and poutine upgrade was totally worth it! Ended on a sweet note with their dessert of the day: apple pie topped with fresh fruit and vanilla ice cream. The retro diner vibe and comforting food make this place a perfect pick for rainy days, brunch dates, or chill mornings. Highly recommend checking out their Two Can Dine special!

Finally tried Deacon’s Corner. I was excited as this was the only American style diner around here. There were many enticing items on the menu. Had the chicken, biscuit, and gravy. It’s the cleanest breakfast plate I’ve ever had, with no charred bits from the pan/flattop. Left full. Only disappointment was no chicken fried steak. Service was fast. Will definitely come back. Please add hush puppies to the menu. No one else has them in this city.

I've been here before, even bought a T-shirt cause I liked the place so much! Returned the other day to meet up with a friend (I'm trying to take him to every different diner I know in Vancouver). The place didn't disappoint at all. Very friendly staff greeted us, sat us down, coffee in an instant. We had time to catch up (my friend and I), the staff were super accommodating! I had the eggs, bacon and sausage with hash browns sour bread toast and... chilli? Love the eggs, toast and bacon. Bacon could have been fried a bit more. Sausage patties? Meh... But the chilli? I asked hours of server who thought of chili, she had no idea but it was a nice addition and different... The service was excellent, as was the coffee and food! I'm definitely coming back!

Firstly, when you walk in, you feel like family. a warm sweet welcome, great music, amazing selection of cocktails, whiskey, scotch, gin, you name it. And then there's the food...stick to your ribs goodness. It's home cooking but elevated to the ultimate next level with some great flavor profiles, mouth feel is amazing and everything is done with a purpose. Zach and Meghan are two AMAZING staff here and if you get lucky enough to be seated here on a Friday night or literally any day of the week just enjoy every minute. Love this spot. Friendly, tasty, great vibes. :)

My friends and I are big fans of brunch at Mamie Taylor's. The ambiance, the lovely service, the food, the coffee with Bailey's - all of it is great. We could come here week after week (and we do).

Great atmosphere, good vibe, good drink selection, and oh yah the food is good too. Everything is well done and a great neighbourhood spot to hang out. Service is friendly with a smile. Fried apple dessert is my fave as one cannot find it anywhere else.

The brunch menu is pretty extensive. The kale and mushroom skillet was really tasty 😊 they're definitely a few more menu items I want to try next time including a side of the white cheddar grits, and their hash.

Love this place! The atmosphere is quaint and authentic and is perfect for dining or drinks. They have a fairly good selection of cocktails and a small selection of beer (try the cocktails!)

The Old Fashion was nice on ice and Chef Jonas killed the appetizers. Shrimp&Gritz and the Parm Dip were delicious. It's a tiny little space with chill servers and atmosphere. Cool little hidden Gem in the heart of Chinatown.

Nelly's Grill is a low-key grill that offers breakfast staples like burgers, sandwiches, and other staples. The restaurant feels homey thanks to its down to earth family friendly vibes, and kids love the crayons and coloring books provided. The menu is kid-friendly with generous portions fit for little kings and queens.
I had heard good things about Nelly's from others that had been. I saw lots of eggs benny photos so I thought I would try one of them. I had the corned beef benny. Literally everything about this dish was on point. The potatoes were soft with bits of the crisp from the flattop. The eggs were perfectly cooked and the hollandaise and corned beef complimented the dish. Even the English muffin was toasted well and still had a bit of crunch with the benny's on top. I will definitely be back again! The staff were also very attentive and friendly.

Good food, quick service and friendly staff. I ordered the egg Benny with a side of pancakes, the Benny tasted well and freshly made but the pancake was slightly cold by the time it came out to me and the fresh toast can definately be swettened a bit more. There In house organic coffee was wonderful as well, ended up having 3 cups in one sitting. Would definately recommend others to give them a try.

This is an amazing breakfast joint! I had their corned beef hash with 2 poached eggs and multigrain toast ($13) and I was amazed. We also got to try the chicken and waffle eggs Benedict ($16), gingerbread French toast ($13.50) along with their salmon eggs Benedict ($15). • Personally I thought the corned beef hash was amazingly well done. I loved the flavours of the veggies with the corn beef, very well seasoned and it tasted very comforting. It was a pretty big portion for the price that we paid 😍 gotta love cheap eats. • The restaurant itself is small good thing we got there early and got a table as it’s self seating. There was a wait when we left But I mean i now know why. • I’d come back again to get their corn beef hash again (ask for potatoes crispier!).

My wife and I have been here twice since moving to the area. Better food (and more gluten-free options) than Sophie's a few doors down and much less busy. People are always nice here. Gluten-free options are great. It's refreshing to have the option between gf pancakes, waffles, AND bread. Portions are substantial and I usually bring some home with me. Will keep coming here for sure.
Eric B — Google review
The hot sauce they make made the meal in my opinion. If you like hot sauce the Chorizo Hash was good with it otherwise I wouldn't have enjoyed as I'm not usually a huge fan of breakfast places. Everyone else who are bigger fans of breakfast places enjoyed their food.

Nelly’s grill is located at the heart of Kitsilano, Vancouver. Its small and cozy with beautiful paintings on teh walls. ℹ️ There is usually line-up on weekends and you might need to wait for 15 to 45 minutes to be seated. The neighborhood is also a nice place to walk to the beach after having your breakfast in Nelly’s. ☕️ Your coffee is refilled quickly and its like a tradition in Nelly’s so the customer spends zero moment with no coffee😁 🍛 Your options for breakfast might confuse you as there are many. I recommend you try one from Hashes and one from Bennies. I, personally didn’t like the potatoes taste as I have experienced ones in similar places like Red Umbrella. ☑️ One thing that might surprise you is the speed at which your order is prepared and served. Its like 5 minutes when you order and get it on the table👍 🤵‍♀️ The servers are really responsive and fast and take care of your requests properly. Enjoy!👌

I love coming back to this place for breakfast everytime. The food is delicious, comforting. I tried the club burger and vegetable omlette this time; both are yummy with good portions. The hospitality of the staffs is amazing.

Craffles in Vancouver is a waffle restaurant that caters to both non-vegan and vegan diets. Their standout vegan offering, the Amazing Vegan Breakfast, features Just Egg and Beyond Sausage with a side salad and a perfectly prepared waffle. For those with a sweet tooth, the Oreo Waffle and Whipped Fruits Waffle are must-try options.
Had a great brunch experience at Craffles! The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The milkshakes and drinks were both creative and refreshing. Staff were friendly and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The only minor downside was that the tables and chairs felt a bit small and tight, especially during busy hours — but overall, I was very satisfied and would definitely return!

After morning walk, I decided to come by. I ordered their Whipped Fruit Waffles and Ice Latte. I love their waffles still crunchy and the combination of the berries, banana, and nutella. Sweet, creamy, and nutty. Latte is also good. The atmosphere is cozy and cute. Service is good. Very recommended for light snack.

We went to Craffles twice on our trip to Vancouver. The first time, we had the chicken and bacon crepe and an "extra healthy" acai bowl. The food was fresh and delicious and very filling. Our servers were friendly and pleasant, and the atmosphere is great. We ate out on the patio and even with construction around, it was nice. The second time, the servers seemed to just generally be paying less attention to us specifically. When we first arrived, there was an open table but they told us to wait for one inside. There was another party of 2 behind us and they offered that table to that party and then realized we were still waiting. We waited for water for a bit, then we drank our glasses and never got a refill. I had asked for orange juice but they were out. We finished eating and waited 15 minutes or so for the server to check in to ask for a to-go box and the bill, but the servers kept tending to the tables around us and skipping ours. We had to tap the server on the arm to get her attention. They seemed pretty oblivious as to why we were frustrated. Bummer that this service experience was so different from the last. Food was still good this time around, so at least there was that.

It’s a small, cozy café that specializes in crêpes and waffles. We came early and tried the Crispy Chicken Crêpe and Crispy Chicken Tapioca, both were excellent. I especially loved their blue cheese sauce — I asked for it on the side, and you can really taste the rich aroma and see bits of real blue cheese in it. My latte also really good ! The servers were super friendly and attentive. We arrived around 9:00 AM and didn’t have to wait in line. There’s street parking available, and it’s free before 9 AM, which makes it even more convenient. Highly recommend and will definitely come back!

Tried the buttermilk chicken omelette and French toast, both were amazing. I was worried the potatoes would be greasy (based on photos from other reviews), but they were crispy and really tasty. The omelette was delicious, and the sweet bacon was a really good. The french toast was perfectly crispy outside and soft inside. Great food and friendly staff.

the food was amazing and the coffee was perfect. special thanks to the lovely lady barista. our waiter was super nice and very professional. we had to wait about 40 minutes in line on a rainy saturday morning which was a bit of a downside but everything else was great and totally worth it

Waiting time was 50 min in Remembrance Day. From 11:10 to 11:58 Food served in 10min. Potatoes are hot & crunchy outside. Sunrise Pancake was good choice and good combination with bacon and scrambled eggs. Millionaire bakon was regular bacon.
Nozomi T — Google review
The place offers a great variety of breakfast options. Some items were a bit too sweet for my taste, and the portions are quite generous—which many will appreciate. One of our orders was initially missed, but the staff corrected it after I reminded them; they were extremely busy, so it’s somewhat understandable. The staff were friendly, but the wait time was quite long—around 20–30 minutes or more. Prices are definitely on the higher side.

Jackalopes Neighbourhood Dive is a dive bar with a heavy metal playlist and eclectic decorations. The place has a fun twist with thrift store decor focusing on rock n roll, creating an edgy atmosphere that even classical music enthusiasts would enjoy. They offer comfort food with a trashy twist made from organic, locally sourced ingredients. The bar is known for its cool and fun atmosphere, themed around metal and rock music. Customers praise the delicious nachos but mention they are expensive.
Neighbourhood black diamond - decked out in heavy metal memorabilia, and blasting the best and loudest tunes. Jackalopes is a fun time every single time. Visited for Valentine’s this year, celebrating the best way. Good eats and fast bartenders. Dog treats at the door for passing furbabies!

Great spot at East Hastings! Place is unique, decoration and music-wise. Definitely don’t go if you don’t like prog rock or metal, the music is not loud but you can definitely hear it. We tried the Thursday cheeseburger, reasonably priced and tasting good, as well as the Hawaiian Intervention nachos. They were delicious, but we felt a little bit lacking for a party of 8; most importantly it took some 40 minutes to arrive, and by then we were starving haha. They were delicious (ingredientes, spices, sauces), but the wait time was too long. Service was friendly and beers were fantastic.
Bruno R — Google review
Unique experience! Not into heavy metal myself, but I grew up in a blue collar town, so I can deal. And anyway, the superb pulled pork, brisket and other delights are worth every note of guitar feedback played over the speakers. Had the platter and highly recommend. Pickled veggies too? Yum! Quirky and fun decor, excellent service and quality food made from scratch. Will come back for my carnivore fix again & again! Oh and did I mention, the best cornbread ever???

What a rad place! I’m not a metalhead, but as a goth who loves jackalopes, this bar has my heart. I visited from Portland and it somewhat reminds me of Black Water Bar out here, or Brutal Poodle in Denver, but the decor is wayyyy busier and more eclectic! I wish I had the chance to walk around and take pictures, but it was super packed on a Friday night. I had the pierogies and they were way better quality than I was expecting, even came with a brat and sauerkraut! Very grateful for the WiFi as I don’t have cell data here; I was able to get directions back to my Airbnb after dark without issue. Jackalope is my new favorite metal bar, so I hope to revisit one day! Shout out to the lovely bartender who gave me a pack of buttons, you rock!

Good food & great service, but a bit sketchy neighborhood. Do not walk here from downtown. Veggie burger comes lumberjack sized, so bring your appetite! Delicious and gargantuan. Nestled in a vibrant corner, Canffle is a charming little café that specializes in waffle-based dishes adorned with an array of unique toppings. This delightful spot takes traditional waffles to new heights, particularly with their signature creation—the Croffle. This innovative treat combines the flaky goodness of a croissant with the crispy texture and iconic pattern of a waffle, making it an absolute must-try for any food lover.
Awesome croffle sandwiches. The salmon egg benny is amazing. The croffles have a wonderful consistency between crispy and chewy texture. Their dessert waffles are equally fresh and tasty. I’d highly recommend this place. It is very busy during weekends.

We went to try their weekday morning specials for $10 per item. It was a great morning deal from 8am-10am only. The food overall was very good. Portions were generous for the price you paid. Too bad it is only offered on weekdays.

The food is great! Do not get me wrong.. but the service (or lack of) is quite questionable and yet…. That prompt for a “service tip” at the ordering counter after you dine in.. I mean they’re only taking our order, serving the plate and then they don’t even come over and ask the basics “hey, how is everything tasting?” Personal recommendation is the Croffle Salmon Sandwich. Ben’s Table platter is pretty awesome too!

We went in to try it because there was a line. The sandwich was delicious, with a crispy crust and rich flavor! We loved it. The environment was very clean!

I dropped by canffle for a brunch with my toddler and my girlfriend. It was her choice of place and I was glad to come here. The menu is pretty straightforward. It had three I think types of waffles? And the prices weren’t bad. At first I thought a sandwich that I got for 18.75 was really expensive, but there were two sandwiches. With that said, I thought it wasn’t that bad. The croissant/ waffle thing was crunchy outside and soft inside. I forgot what I ordered but the eggs and the sandwich was nicely soft and the sauce had a kick to it. The sauce helped it not be too heavy? I couldn’t need to sandwiches. I brought one home. My toddler had a croffle with berries and he enjoyed it. The cream on it wasn’t too sweet, so that was nice. The only thing was the atmosphere was kind of not so restaurant like? It felt kinda like a takeout spot with very limited seating. Still, I thought the food was pretty decent and the girls working there were very nice. And it wasn’t super pricey either. Next time I feel like having this croissant plus waffle thing, I’ll drop by canffle.

I went on a holiday morning a couple weeks ago and the food was delicious! I highly recommend the croffle club sandwich! We also ordered the egg drop sandwich and a good warmer sweet croffle, all 10/10. The portions were larger than I expected but what blew me away was the service. A staff member saw that I had not finished my sandwich and offered me a togo box before I even asked! Overall, I would return for just the croffle club alone but the service and atmosphere make it a gem :)

The main reason i came here is because of halal menu and i saw a photo of cute ribbon croissant on Instagram just after this cafe opened last year. I'm a sweet tooth but not really a big fan of pistachio and i'm not hate it either. Since i seldom come to downtown Vancouver, I ordered a couple on the menu. I didn't finish by myself and i brought back some of them. I ordered hot mocha, green ribbon pistachio & cream croissant, dubai chocolate, pistachio cake and sausage roll. At first, i wanted to get a pink ribbon croissant because i love pink colour unfortunately, only the green one left. All food and drinks were good especially hot mocha and ribbon croissant! Bear in mind that pistachio cake is spongy and very creamy. This cafe is quite spacious. Air humidifier makes this cafe smells good. It's very cosy to hang out by yourself or friends and not to forget the restroom is also clean. I'm happy and satisfied with what i had and the service i received by a friendly staff or bosses 😊. Please keep up the good work and maintain the cleanliness. I'll definitely come again, and next time with my husband. He's not a sweet tooth but i'm pretty sure he would definitely love the savoury selections. I did share a video on my Instagram; @sheryonthemove

What a fantastic cafe! I was out perusing the streets searching for a sweet treat when I stumbled upon this place. And after visiting, I am in love. There’s not many good baklava places where I’m from, but when I had my first bite, I was delighted. The baklava perfectly balanced in both sweet and savory aspects. The cashier at the counter was also very friendly and welcoming. The decor was lovely and they have incorporated sustainability and environmental friendly aspects into their business as well. Overall I highly recommend, and I’m so glad I decided to stop here!!!

My experience with the “Dubai Chocolate” dessert was mixed. It has a very eye-catching and elegant presentation, but the outer chocolate shell was harder than I expected. I had to apply more pressure than I thought to break it open, which I don’t think should be the case. As for the taste, it was my first time trying this kind of Dubai-style chocolate, so I don’t have a point of comparison—it wouldn’t be fair to judge it too harshly. That said, it wasn’t for me; I found it overly rich and intense. The pistachio croissant, on the other hand, was quite good. I’d give it a 7 out of 10, mostly because it had a lot of filling. That could be a plus or a minus depending on your taste, but for me, it was a bit too much. The matcha was slightly sweeter than I prefer, but nothing too overwhelming. The café itself is beautifully decorated and has a great atmosphere to enjoy a quiet coffee or dessert.
Carmen V — Google review
I absolutely love Pistachio Caffee! 🌟 The drinks are always perfectly made rich, smooth, and full of flavor. You can really tell they use high-quality ingredients and put care into every cup. Their baklava is on another level perfectly flaky, just the right amount of sweetness, and packed with that amazing pistachio flavor. It’s honestly some of the best I’ve ever had. The cozy atmosphere and friendly service make it an even better experience. Highly recommend for anyone who loves great coffee and authentic treats!

This is one of my favorite places, and as the name suggests, it’s full of pistachio-flavored sweets! The atmosphere of the café is also unique. The only thing I wish is that it were easier to see the names and prices of the desserts. I always end up saying, “That one, please!” every time I order 😅

Right on Seymour Street (steps from Granville Station 🚆), @pistachiovan has just launched their brand-new brunch menu and it’s everything. From authentic labneh, cheesy manakish, to fragrant zaatar, the flavors are rich, comforting, and beautifully authentic. But the magic doesn’t stop there. While they’re famous for their endless desserts 🍰 and dreamy lattes ☕, what completely stole my heart was their tea. The owner personally hand-picks the flowers for their tea 🌸💜 and I promise, it’s unlike anything I’ve ever had. As someone who usually reaches for David’s Tea, I can honestly say this was on another level. I had the sweetest chat with the owner, who shared that his dream is to grow Pistachio Café into a place everyone knows and loves. He named it Pistachio because pistachios are like gold ✨ a symbol of richness, beauty, and value. And honestly? After visiting, it feels exactly like that. Everything here is 100% Halal, the vibes are cozy and welcoming, and if you’re traveling, they even offer luggage check-in so you can sip, eat, and relax without worry. If you’re in Vancouver, don’t miss this spot. Come for the brunch, stay for the tea, and experience what the owner calls “a true golden gem.” 💚

a unique cafe in gastown! there is really something for everyone here, they have all kinds on their menus: sweet, savoury, all-vegan options, etc. i got the blue sky breakfast from the all-day breakfast menu, they let me swap out the fried egg for scrambled egg without extra cost. also they were out of the usual breakfast sausages so the server asked for my preference in a replacement and i got a different type of sausage. even with the changes it was so delicious. the vibe of the cafe is great too, i really enjoyed how pretty the decorations are.

got a gluten free waffle, it was delicious, and there are a bunch of options to choose from. service was pretty slow, I didn't get my tea for 25 mins, and I overheard other people asking for menus, to order their food, etc. ambiance was nice though, cozy in the cold and rain. I would absolutely come back 🧇🥞🥓🫖

Was keen for fried chicken and waffles prior to leaving Canada and while the food was OK, it wasn't great. The Waffled Up Chicken could've done with some maple syrup - it was pretty heavy and the chicken was not that tasty :( The atmosphere was pretty dour, very quiet and staff were friendly but not really engaged. 7-inch Waffle House is a unique and playful specialty waffle shop that offers a twist on traditional waffles, catering to adults with its cheeky, genital-themed designs. The friendly staff are eager to guide customers through the ordering process, creating a lighthearted dining experience. The dessert spot specializes in kinky waffles shaped like penises and vulvas, offering a variety of glossy chocolate dips and various toppings.
We visited their store on a Friday evening. There was a queue, I think we waited about 15 minutes or so. Due to their store size they were letting in only 4 people at once inside. Since the wall is made of glass and you can see what's going on, we didn't feel that the wait was too long. They have 4 flavors for dipping, chocolate/matcha/ube/vanilla and various toppings. Depending on what flavor/toppings you choose, the price will be between 8-11$ Waffles were freshly made and served warm. I got it with the chocolate flavor and it was pretty sweet. The waffle itself was dense and filling than I imagined. These waffles aren't cheap yet I believe that the whole point of getting this is not about just getting a waffle but to get this whole experience. It was very fun for me to watch the entire process of the waffles getting dipped and decorted. Oh yes and they have a floral wall for a photoshoot too.

Cute place for a picture, and the waffles aren't bad, but I can't imagine I'd come here again. It's a bit pricey for what you get. There's a lot of flavor options, the interior is very cute, and staff is friendly. If you want to do something a little more on the ridiculous end then go, but you can find far better desserts throughout Vancouver.

This is a super fun dessert shop! It takes about 10 minutes to make one of the waffles so make sure you have the time! The waffle was okay - my friend said the cream pie one was better because it was thinner. The weiner one had too much batter - this inside was too soggy. I definitely recommend going at least once.

It's a great adult themed specialty waffle shop. When you walk in It's very cute, the staff member Anna was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The price to quality ratio is great. I was full about 3/4 of the way into it. (Eyyy) If it's your first time going the easiest way to not get overwhelmed is order in steps which they have posted within the store. It's not specifically an 18+ store but the waffle shapes are 100% genital themed so I wouldn't really bring your kids. -Choose from one of the two options (or both options if you want two waffles, you do you.) - What type of warm chocolate the waffle will be dipped in. (The waffle will also be warm as they are fresh for you so don't expect the chocolate to harden.) -What toppings you would like. Toppings range from sauce drizzles to oreo/candy crumbs, etc. It's prepared in front of you and there are some basic soft drinks in the refrigerator for sale as well. It isn't a Café so don't expect coffee beverages dine in table service. It is downtown so it's great if you're walking in the area. There's street parking outside but be mindful if it's pay parking since it's Vancouver. (I haven't been to the area in a super long time so I'm not up to date on parking policies right now. Be sure to double check.) There is apparently parking Validation which is $1 for 1 hour but double check how that works. :) The flavor I got was White chocolate with some condensed milk drizzle and oreo crumble. The waffle itself isn't sweet but the rest was really nice. I would probably go for milk chocolate next time but that's because I personally find white chocolate a bit sweet sometimes, the oreo and waffle just helped balance it out. Especially since condensed milk is just basically sugar milk.

My friends and I had a great time at 7inch! Not only the waffles are great, also the décor of the shop is Super cute! Perfect for social media! I took so many photos there with my friends! It was a GREAT experience! Highly recommend! If you haven't try! You're definitely MISSING OUT ! 👍👍👍

When we arrived the line up was very long and probably had over an hour wait. The inside is small but decorated quite nice. I found the waffles to be very sweet though so make sure you have a sweet tooth when you show up!

I could not believe our luck when I was looking for dessert in the area from our random sushi restaurant! A must stop in Vancouver from now on, I loved the theme of the place. The decor was on brand and the names are funny and the waffles are just *chefs' kiss*! Stop here to satisfy all your cravings 😜
