The Second Beach Swimming Pool is an outdoor pool located in Stanley Park that offers picturesque views of English Bay. It is a spacious and heated pool, which includes play features for children and food concessions. This spot is ideal for summer swimming, but it's worth noting that there may be a difference in swimming pace depending on the direction you choose due to either a current or wind from English Bay. The bright turquoise water color blends seamlessly into the bay during the day and creates a stunning reflection during quiet evenings.
Great spot for spending a nice weekend with your friends/family. Water temperature was just right and lockers were provided for free. I think that kids are going to love this pool since it has 3 fun slides. It was a great experience and we will definitely come back again!
Arefeh N — Google review
Second beach swimming pool is a nice swimming pool where you can hang out with your family. They have kids section and three slides. One of them is for toddlers. One of them is for kids and then one of them is for adults and teenagers so it is very family oriented. They also have a swimming zone for swimmers who just want to do lengths. There’s bathrooms and changing rooms really close by and there’s a lot of space at the pool where you can sit down and get a sun tan.
Gabriel D — Google review
i had came here with my family today. came at the 3:00-5:30 time bir arrived at 4:00. this pool is a really good pool as my whole family is always talking about going to it, we enjoy going because as someone who is 1 hour away from this place. i get very excited to visit. today my and my brother spend around 1 hour in the pool and spent the rest of the half hour tanning. this pool is nice, but i see it more as a younger children swimming pool or like a family pool, not much slides, no diving board and no swimming toys. I am also not a huge fan of the time changes from noon-2:30 pm and the 3:00-5:30 preferably, if this place was open from noon to 5:30, i would be here more often. But, for the price of this place i 100% think it’s worth it, i just don’t think i’ll be spending more than an hour swimming if i ever do in fact come back here. thanks Second Beach Swimming Pool. See you soon!

Open public pool in an unbeatable location. Come in the evening to avoid crowds. Better to ride your bike and lock it outside the pool, as it will be tough to find parking, especially during weekends. Stanley Park seawall and English Bay are within reach.
Eugene S — Google review
Great pool for your kids. Parking is near by and also a great park for before or after the swim. Make sure to book online ad they go fast. Water was heated and very refreshing. Water slides are open and a great addition to the pool. They have a good time slot time and is enough for great family fun. If you didn't bring any snack they do have a near by concession with burgers, chicken strips and fish tacos if you desire. They also have lattes and icecream if you need a mid day pick me up.
Robert F — Google review
I enjoyed visiting the Second Beach Pool. Outside the pool area, there’s a public washroom and a separate changing room, which is great, though something to note is that the changing room doesn’t have doors. There are also coin-operated lockers, which are handy for storing your belongings while you swim. The pool itself is lovely, with beautiful views of both the city and the beach. There are two small slides, one clearly designed for children and the other also quite small, though still fun for adults to try. Both are open for adults, but you can tell one is meant for kids. There’s also a lap swimming area. The pool can get a bit crowded, but overall the space is not bad for hanging out with friends, having a relaxed swim, and enjoying the atmosphere. (Though there are a lot if children)The water was warm and clean, making it a pleasant experience.

What a great surprise this pool was on our visit to Second Beach. Myself and my 6 and 8 year old had SO much fun. The staff were so friendly at the front and the lifeguards were amazing and attentive. Clean facility and just stunning backdrop. The rates are so reasonable for what you get. So glad we found this gem and got to enjoy it.
T J — Google review
Second beach is a great pool, 3 -50 m lanes usually enough for the serious swimmers and a large shallow end for recreation. The pool is great for families , maybe better than Kits pool as there is a a huge well equipped playground near by and food vendors . The bad thing here is Vancouver parks board have contracted out the parking so be prepared to pay $4.50 per hour for your fun .

Located at 1050 Beach Avenue in Vancouver, BC, the Vancouver Aquatic Centre is a beloved swimming destination for locals. Despite its age, this facility offers a range of amenities including a water slide, rope swing, toddler pool, and a dive tank with diving towers up to 10 meters high. While praised for its outstanding staff and cleanliness, there are some concerns about managing lane allocation and recent incidents of theft. The center also features springboards and platforms for diving enthusiasts.
It’s really good time to go on weekday daytime, not crowded, more clean, very comfortable and enjoyable. Last time tried to go there after work, was so busy, and saw many cottons in the water while swimming, overall they maintained pretty well. Definitely recommend it

TlDR: This pool does not allow you to provide guidance to swimming tips for family and friends solely to protect revenue from their private lessons I have submitted an official city council complaint regarding an incident that occurred on the morning of Sunday, September 28th at the Vancouver Aquatic Centre, involving myself and a group of family friends. While swimming recreationally, I was offering my friend some tips to improve his swimming technique — casual peer-to-peer guidance. We were promptly stopped by a lifeguard, who informed us that no tips, advice, or instruction of any kind can be shared between patrons, regardless of context, as private swimming lessons are available through the facility. When I raised a concern and referenced the City of Vancouver’s published policy — which clearly states that you can assist friends as long as you are also working out (which was the case). I was told by the front desk staff that this was an “internal policy” not available to the public and that it was simply “common sense.” No evidence or documentation supporting the lifeguard’s decision was provided. This is not only frustrating but also raises serious concerns about transparency, and equity in the application of policy in publicly funded spaces. These pools are funded by taxpayers for the benefit of the community. To prevent family and friends from casually supporting each other in learning critical life skills — such as swimming — is both discouraging and, frankly, disheartening. Water safety and swimming proficiency are essential life skills, and learning opportunities should be as accessible and inclusive as possible. If this policy exists solely to protect revenue from private lessons, then it stands at odds with the public mandate of community centres: to foster health, safety, and wellbeing. I urge the City to: 1. Review and publicly clarify the policy regarding casual instruction between friends and family in public pools. 2. Ensure that front-line staff are accurately and transparently communicating those policies. 3. Reconsider any internal policies that may create unnecessary barriers to community learning, particularly when they impact access to vital skills like swimming. I am open to further discussion and would appreciate a response, as well as an apology for the handling of the situation. I hope the City of Vancouver will reflect on this and take steps to reaffirm its commitment to accessible, community-centered services.

Great Facility in the west end. The staff are amazing, and i don't think they get enough recognition for the work they do.The 5 stars go to all the amazing staff that make going to the aquatic centre so wonderful. The aquatic centre needs to have balance of how many lanes they offer for public and for all the teams that swim there. Seems like a logistics issue. Change rooms are clean. The facility is great but lately there seems to be a lot of theft and breaking of lockers. I wish they would have some system of security to make sure people and their belongings are safe and protected. Individuals who think they can get high and come for a swim, well they should proceed with caution and i have seen this happen and the staff handled this really well. Actually Kudos to the staff who handled the situation with grace, empathy and professionalism. The facility is amazing! thank you to all the amazing staff that make going to the aquatic centre so amazing ! You are noticed and hope you will be acknowledged and recognized.

Facilities are great given their age. Staff are unbelievably rude. They clearly hate their career but feel trapped by the incentive of a government pension. Would be great to see some new blood behind the desk and running the facility.

You could at least update your hours on here to reflect what you have on the door. Arrived and it was closed after checking if it was open online. Shame.

Great swimming pool and gym with the bonus of an outdoor basketball hoop (they provide the 🏀) and punching bag! Bonus: can walk through swimming area to cool off outside between sauna sessions. New favourite workout spot for the summer, and probably the winter!

Nice place to swim! A bit older so there is an odd layout and not everything is in the same place but it is clean and quiet. Came here with mermaid tails and had an excellent time in the dive tank - super deep and with really high boards. Definetly want to come here again!

The Aquatic Centre in West Vancouver is a popular spot, especially during the summer. It features an outdoor pool with warm shallow water and two different temperature hot tubs, as well as a sauna and diving boards. The facility also offers various change rooms to accommodate different needs. Lifeguards are attentive and helpful, ensuring a safe environment for all visitors. Families with children can enjoy the leisure pool, which is shallow and suitable for kids aged 6 and up to play without constant supervision.
Great facility with large competition- diving pool, wave pool, jacuzzi, and steam room, as well as fantastic gym area on Second Level. Gym level is divided into large section and smaller studio, both well-equipped with machines + free weights. Entire gym space has broad range of resistance + weighted cable machines, as well as iron + rubber-coated Olympic plates/dumbbells, and Olympic bars for use with benches, smith machine, and squat cage + rack. Lots of cardio machines are available as well: treadmills, climbmill, rowing machines, stair machines, and elliptical trainers. Great thing is that they all face out towards floor-ceiling windows with great views of sky + mountains. The music is definitely decent too, and screens in gym show NHL or NFL games of the day. Second level also includes Aquatic Centre Physiotherapy clinic (sports + orthopedic). Gym studio space is available for WVAC group health + fitness classes with trainers -- who also offer 1-on-1 workout instruction. All in all, just an awesome complex with great facilities, and friendly helpful people, from the WVCC office staff to the lifeguards and trainers. Definitely worth checking out!

This is a fantastic pool for kids! The location is convenient with easy access. The pool area is large and well-maintained, and the staff were very kind and helpful. My son had a blast exploring the different water areas designed for walking, surfing, jumping, and just relaxing. I appreciated the vigilant lifeguards and the comfortable seating area where I could keep an eye on him. It was a shame the slide wasn't working, but overall, we had a wonderful experience.
Saleh A — Google review
Gorgeous building but poorly run and pool safety; hygiene and etiquette rules are not enforced. Lack of signage about the rules. Cologne and perfume allergies are not taken seriously; lap swimming while gagging on perfume smells because 99% of people don’t shower before swimming. Lap swim lanes are used for walking and random exercises; when there is an entire additional leisure pool to do that in. Exceptionally slow swimmers take over the medium and fast lanes; as well as the larger slow lane. Inappropriate music is on too often and is excessively too loud the majority of the time. People walk on the pool deck fully clothed and in street shoes; even when signage clearly states it is not allowed. The change room showers smell like sewage often. Men spit in the change room showers, talk very loudly and are not considerate of how long they shower when others are waiting. The change rooms are muggy and moist with terrible ventilation. The lap pool has mechanical sounds underwater like a skill saw working. Pools should reinstate Adult Only Quiet lap swim times in the am and pm. Very limited and few times available for serious lap lane swimmers. Not worth the time and money. Not a good experience at all.

Amazing! Make sure you bring your own towel in your own soap. But this place, it's a fantastic place to go for a swim or sit in the hot tub or the sun or the steam room, or do a water slide or go to the gym.
Jason G — Google review
Came here a lot when I was kid it was the nicest pool in the Northshore at the time The washrooms have been remodeled It's quite big there's laps, a diving pool area, a slide, a normal pool area, a lazy river, and everything that would be at a pool like sauna, steam room, and hotubs There's two hot tubs: an adult and a child one, the the adult one doesn't get that hot anymore at least from what saw and steam room was hot but not as foggy Overall, it was great when I was a kid, but it does need a fix up
E J — Google review
Great pool for a mid morning swim but lockers and change rooms need a face lift and could be updated.

Aquatic center
Hillcrest Aquatic Centre is the city's largest aquatic facility, offering both indoor and outdoor pools with all the amenities needed for a perfect summer swim. Kids and parents love the toys, play areas, bubble jets, slide, and lazy river. The warm pool is great for rehabilitation while the gym is well-equipped. Separate men's and women's change rooms are available. Located near Queen Elizabeth Park, it also offers sports facilities like curling and skating on the second floor.
Hillcrest Community Center is a fantastic facility that truly serves the community. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. The center is well-maintained, clean, and offers a wide range of activities for all ages. The gym is spacious and well-equipped, making it a great place for both casual workouts and organized sports. The variety of fitness classes, from yoga to dance, ensures that there’s something for everyone. The community rooms are also excellent for hosting events, meetings, and programs. For families, the center is a great spot. The indoor play area is a hit with young kids, and the outdoor spaces, including the playground and sports fields, are well-kept and fun to use. The after-school programs and summer camps are well-organized and engaging, providing a safe and enriching environment for children. Parking is convenient, and the location is easily accessible. It’s clear that Hillcrest Community Center is a place where people come together to learn, stay active, and build connections. Whether you’re looking for fitness options, community events, or a space to gather, this center has it all. Highly recommend checking it out!

Facility is really nice but ice rink manager is an idiot, kicked me out for taking photos while 3 ADULT hockey players were finishing stick time, said I was "violating their privacy." There is also a mezzanine area overlooking the rink, so what's the difference? Curling rink closed for summer.
John P — Google review
It's still a good place for swim. It has a few pools, 3 diving boards, wet sauna, hot tub, steam room and lazy river etc. The family with little ones will love this pool since there has bigger area for kids. The staff are helpful and friendly. It's super busy in the summer holiday. Please expect longer wait and be kind to all. But it is getting too crowded, it's hardly getting tidy and clean. If you can go there not in the busy period would be better. The parking is not easy now since there are a big construction in the Nat Bailey Stadium. It takes longer time for the parking but they have staff there guide you where to park. They have nice flowers field in the entrance.
Wah Y — Google review
It's a fun place to go swimming, and although I haven't been there in years, I used to go all the time. The pool features a lazy river, a kids' section, a large hot tub, and an outdoor area. It’s pretty affordable for minors. It was only like five dollars. However, I did have a negative experience once when my belongings were stolen from the lockers. I lost my favorite watch, and my dad went to great lengths to help me find it. Luckily, we eventually located it, but it was a stressful situation. This happened quite a while ago, so just be cautious and make sure to lock the lockers with your clothes and other valuables. Also remember to bring your own lock because they will charge you $18 if you don’t. They said that they do have some lockers that accept quarters but it’s a limited number. There’s lots of pool toys through the lazy river, and there’s also water guns which you can shoot people. They’re more like water turrets, which are stationary in one place.
Gabriel D — Google review
Great spot for a morning or afternoon outing with the kids. It’s affordable and never feels too crowded. We finally went when the outdoor kids pool was open — tons of extra fun with the spray features and shallow water, perfect for little ones. Easy way to burn off energy and cool down on a warm day. Definitely a go-to for summer.

I visited the Aquatic Centre on a Monday afternoon and was able to get in quickly without any wait. The facility is quite nice, offering a great environment for swimming. Although I only used the indoor area, I found everything there to be well-maintained and enjoyable. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the amenities met my expectations. Overall, I had a positive experience, and I would definitely recommend this place to others. :)

A well-equipped community centre with a swimming pool, indoor courts, and an ice rink. The facilities are clean, the staff are friendly, and it’s a great place to spend the whole day staying active and relaxed.

UBC Aquatic Centre in Vancouver is a top-notch swimming facility with three pools catering to different preferences. The 50-meter competition pool is ideal for serious swimmers and classes, while the leisure pool and lazy river offer a more laid-back experience. The recently renovated center also features amenities like a steam room, sauna, and a large hot tub. Although the lap swimming pool is well-maintained, it's recommended to check the schedule for availability as certain areas may be closed at times.
The facilities are excellent, and the staff is both friendly and professional. This is the cleanest and best-maintained indoor pool in all of Vancouver. The only individuals not allowed in this pool are criminals and rude, cranky people. I didn't encounter any issues; I simply asked the front desk for some information, and they were well-informed about how to access certain areas. Although we had a bit of trouble with the locker system, the front desk staff was happy to assist and explain everything. Now we know what to do when we return here for a swim.
D M — Google review
This is truly an amazing facility and you can come visit for cheap. Plenty of water activities from swimming pools to steam room. Definitely worth checking out at least once, because they do have drop ins. Check the schedule before you go!

Best Best Best place for swimming I have ever been! After been here, I started to love swimming!❤️ The lifeguards are so responsible! They keep walking to see anyone needs help, they rotate between the pools, they are so friendly to ask something. Never worry about risk or anything. They will also call out even if see some kids want to swim in deep pool.🛟 Super hygienic! Always someone cleaning and wiping unstopped. Don’t recommend to take shower here, since there is sign that to be economic, the hot shower water is rain water so let’s help saving them! 💧 But do take a quick shower before entering the pool! 💰Price: free for UBC student. $7 for public adult single pass. 🥽Pools: leisure or 25m or 50m. Sometimes 50m is closed in half lanes for classes and trainings. Always many people in leisure pool but I love 50m pool!!
Cynthia W — Google review
Top tier facility. Very clean, well lit, great atmosphere and amenities. I go out of my way to get here from North Van but it’s worth the trip. Parking is easy and is underground just a short walk away.
Aria N — Google review
Overall the facility is good, but: (1) the website is unnecessarily complicated - it is very difficult for the general public to understand basic information like when the pool is open and how much it costs to enter. No one answers the phone when you call trying to get clarification, and no one calls you back if you leave a message. (2) The locker system is difficult to operate and often "eats" coins. You have to ask a lifeguard to get your coin back which is very inefficient for everyone involved. As other reviewers have mentioned, not everyone is comfortable asking for assistance, so some people will simply lose coins trying to operate the lockers. The lifeguards are great, but the management is clearly not prioritizing the overall accessibility of this facility by failing to address these 2 known and ongoing issues.

It's unfortunate that what would otherwise be a very awesome visit was ruined after the swim, when I had to take a shower at the women's washroom. The shower was a push a button on the wall and it would go for a few minutes type of system (where you can't choose the temp). The problem was every time you pushed the button, the water that came out was cold. Not lukewarm but ice COLD! By the time it finally became lukewarm, the water would stop and you would have to press the button again, which would shoot out water so frigid that I had to run out of the shower. It would eventually turn lukewarm and then stop again...over and over the cycle went. It's unacceptable that after a great workout when my body was warm and relaxed, that I was made more tense and colder than before I arrived b/c of the lack of shower temperature regulation. I don't intend to return to this facility until this gets addressed.

Super good place for athletic and walk in people Reception was super friendly when she was giving me 1 buck for locker. There are 4 super big pool for every one. It is a best place I’ve been in BC. Hot tub for kids are super imaging with strong tub water. I felt absolutely relax here.

So nice to be out cheering on our athletes! Such talent! Pool was well kept, clean. Not great set up to get into stands though. Walk a country mile for a meet since they won't let u in main doors. Otherwise great facilities!

Public swimming pool
Killarney Pool in Vancouver, BC is a popular indoor pool known for its family-friendly amenities and warm, clean ozone-treated water. The pool features a giant water slide, lazy river, spray features, diving boards, and a whirlpool with stunning mountain views. With reduced chlorine levels, swimmers can enjoy excellent water quality and clarity while minimizing skin and eye irritation. Visitors also praise the facility's physical training benefits and the opportunity to create lasting memories through shared experiences at the pool.
This is one of the places that I physically train my body. Actually not mere my body, my mental abilities are trained. I got more endurance to face every chellange. I also thank my wife for she like this place too. She also like swimming. Tell u that she can swim longer distance than I. That is unbelievable!!!! This must be one of the places dwell a large portion of my memory. (See I can make pictures inside the pool area, then share with u all.)

There is no point on having so many amenities but none of them are open. Got there at 1130. The diving board, climbing wall and the slide was closed. 5 lifeguards around and all these amenities closed. Why?

One of the better rec centres in town. The pool facility has a good steam room but no sauna. It's less busy during summer months
Central P — Google review
The swimming pool is an excellent size. The area for the kids is also great. The steam room could use some work. The door takes way too long to close causing it to take a little too long to heat up..Would be nice. If they had a Sauna. The hot tub is where it's lost a couple of Points.. It's like just sitting in a pool of hot water. The jets are very weak. Barely any massage at all. And they have the ability to adjust them, but they're being cheap. I almost forgot. I take 15 minutes roughly in the changing room to shower and dry off and get dressed. And yet they knock on the door and ask you to show respect to other people waiting.

Everyone chinese and rude, some chinese adolocenet that can’t even make eye contact giggling told me that someone shatr in the pool, and they’re waiting for cleanup..no one professional or humane except the guy on reception, no water fountains to drink nowhere near streaming room and hot tub, hard to walk so far... Generally frustrating experience, will not be back. Lost all Sunday, received nothing but strobbing headache for days on. Called ambulance, going to doctor 3rd time since i visited Killarney pool, went to ER, fever, diahrrea, pain everywhere, weakness, nausea. Tnx guys. Really helps with mental health and relaxation.

It is one of the best pools in Vancouver. You can overlook the mountains while in the pool. The hot tub is big enough. The heat quality of the steam sauna is excellent. When the bell is ringing, you line up to enjoy the water slide!! Best time spent.

Came for family swim. Had heard good things about pool from friends, specifically warmer water that is ozone treated, lazy river, and good slide. Also, the pool has a great wall of windows on the North side giving way to great views of the mountains in North Van. Two issues for me were the fact the slide was closed for most of the time I was at the pool despite the schedule saying it was open. They did open it periodically during the swim. As well, I did not appreciate the fact staff closed off areas of the pool to host swimming lessons during public swimming times. Facility is nice and clean and there were plenty of lockers and showers available in the non gendered change room. If you bring two locks, there are also small lockers available in the hallway to change rooms for valuables. This area is record by security cameras.
Miles R — Google review
The staff was friendly and the facility was great for families and novice swimmers. The mountain views were nice, but the women's change rooms were not very clean and there weren't enough showers, especially in the evenings. Additionally, there was a lot of hair in the floors in the women's change room.

Kitsilano Pool, also known as Kits Pool, is a popular attraction located at Kitsilano Beach in Vancouver. This 137-meter heated saltwater swimming pool offers stunning views of the ocean, mountains, and the city skyline. It is almost three times longer than an Olympic pool and is North America's longest pool of its kind. The contrast between the pool's turquoise water and the bay creates a unique photo opportunity.
Located on the Kitsilano waterfront, sits this 137 meter long pool which is one of the biggest public pools in North america, which is very popular with locals and tourists alike especially on sunny days.

Good place for family and young kids. Lot of parking 3 hours for $10 pay at machine. Make sure you’re paid before you’re going to the pool. Bring big towels and 🧢 hats for spending long hours there. Book early a day in advance at least.

It’s peaceful, super clean, and has a great area for tanning. You can bring your own food and enjoy the space without worry. With pre-reservation, there’s no line-up, making the experience smooth and relaxing every time. Grateful for this hidden gem in the city!

Amazing pool with a view - on Vancouver and the Ocean. Check opening times beforehand, they sometimes close in the middle of the day for 30 minutes, and everybody has to leave... Check on official website, Google Maps doesn't list this in the opening times.

One of the most notable lap swimming experiences I’ve ever had (137m!), with everyone swimming in one big circle! A fun way to start the morning with a captivating backdrop. It would be difficult to do a significant workout given the limitations. Reserving a spot online a couple days in advance was quick and easy. There was plenty of parking available in the boathouse lot nearby.

Overall a good pool and park. The poolside is seasonal though but the park is open all season. There is a shortage of parking space here and no food option nearby so bring your snacks/food with you. We enjoyed a lot in pool with family. It’s a kids friendly pool so a perfect place for family outing.
Divyanshu C — Google review
I love this outdoor pool! It’s got a great shallow end for kids, a toddler water slide and in the deep end it has a bigger slide for the older kids. It has lane swimming and ample space to sit around the pool. The only downside is that you still need to book time slots and you can’t stay past that time.
Amanda C — Google review
Overall fantastic pool. It’s part of a park, so it feels cosy and gets shade from trees. The pool sits on a hill, overlooking mountains, so it’s very scenic. There are some factories nearby, so it’s has some industrial vibe to it. The cons are that there is no grass, just concrete, so it’s pretty hard for a towel. I’d bring an extra blanket or chair. Also to skip the long line it’s better to register online, especially in the summer.

Hit it 👍🏿! One of the few Vancouver outdoor pools. Open from may long weekend until Labor Day. A community pool with a lovely view. Definitely book ahead of time so you can guarantee your spot because it can get quite busy on weekends and evenings. Before and after your swim, make sure to enjoy the lovely park. Parking can be a bit difficult so make sure you come a bit earlier. Also for the actual parking lot you would want to follow the Google map directions for the park.
Olivier H — Google review
There is a parking on the street. Don't arrive with the car to the enter of the pool with the road, there are no public parking there. Around the pool there is a big lawn with a small playground for kids. In the pool public washrooms, a buffet who serve food and ice cream. The water in the pool are cold. There is a nice view of the mountains from the pool. The place very organized. Outside the place there are also picnic tables. Highly recommended.
Gal N — Google review
One of the best views for an outdoor pool in Vancouver. The park itself is one of the oldest and has some rich history. There are bathrooms and a concession stand that sells processed food for your growing children! Lots of parking and a off leash area for your pooch. Close to the PNE and the Highway exits.
Patrick C — Google review
Used the lanes here for the first time last week and had such a nice time! Went on a Friday morning from 7-8 a.m. and it wasn’t too busy. I stuck to the slow lane and there were around 3-4 others in there with me as well, so I never felt like I had to wait or rush. I don’t love that there’s a reservation fee online, I wish it was easier to book. The staff member at the window was not that friendly or informative, but I enjoyed the swim and purchased a 10 session pass. I also wish there was an outdoor clock so I can keep track of time, but I noticed they do give a verbal warning when time is almost up (ends at 8:30 am).

Great municipal pool in north Burnaby. We’ve been here for several sets of lessons over the years, as well as a private one-on-one lesson to help build some skills. Instructors are good. Parking can be a bit challenging so give yourself a few extra minutes. I haven’t used the fitness facilities so no review on that.

**Eileen Dailly Leisure Pool & Fitness Centre Review** Eileen Dailly Leisure Pool & Fitness Centre is a fantastic facility with helpful staff and excellent amenities. The swimming classes for kids are well-organized and a great learning experience. It does get very busy during rush hours, likely because it’s the only pool in the neighborhood, so planning your visit during off-peak times is a good idea. Overall, it’s a great place for both fitness and family fun!

I’m someone who loves the gym and takes fitness seriously. I signed up for the 1-year membership thinking the price was great, now I see why. This gym is terrible. It’s ALWAYS overcrowded no matter what time you go, dirty and the machines are always taken and dirty. I also regularly see unsupervised minors playing with equipment, which is not only distracting but also unsafe. There’s zero control, no rules, and no respect for people trying to work out seriously. I’m stuck here until my membership ends, but I wouldn’t recommend this gym to anyone who actually cares about their fitness. If you don’t want your love for working out completely drained, run.

Incident Report – May 1, 2025 (Approx. 1:00–3:30 PM) During my workout session on May 1, an older, dark-skinned male fitness staff member repeatedly interrupted me despite multiple clear requests to be left alone. I was engaged in a focused dumbbell exercise routine, but the staff member remained at my side, continuously speaking about his personal life and unrelated topics. I politely asked him several times—at least six—to allow me to continue my workout undisturbed. Unfortunately, he persisted, and I ultimately had to raise my voice to get him to leave. His behavior disrupted my session and made me feel uncomfortable and disrespected. I am requesting that appropriate steps be taken to ensure all gym members can exercise without unwanted interruption or pressure from staff.

Frustrating Experience – Poor Lane Management, Unclean Facilities, and Rude Staff As a paying customer, I come here expecting a decent experience—but what I’ve consistently encountered is far from acceptable. Let’s start with the pool. I was swimming in the fast lane, but it was full of people swimming very slowly—much slower than even the slow lane swimmers. Instead of kindly directing them to the proper lanes, a staff member approached me, telling me not to pass them “because it’s dangerous.” I stayed to the right and passed carefully, as anyone would in a fast lane in any other pools. Yet somehow I was the problem? What’s the point of having lane categories if they’re not enforced? To make it worse, the staff member spoke to me in a rude and condescending tone, making me feel blamed and uncomfortable. It was disrespectful, and it really ruined my day. I wasn’t swimming recklessly, but I was treated as if I was doing something wrong. A little basic courtesy and understanding would have gone a long way. The shower and change room conditions are also unacceptable. The water temperature is way too hot, with no way to adjust it, making the showers hard to use. I’ve found used diapers, dirty underwear, and overflowing garbage in the change rooms more than once. It’s clear there’s no regular cleaning schedule, and it leaves a terrible impression. On top of that, the pool has excessive chlorine, making my face sting after every swim. I swim regularly at other facilities, and this level of chemical exposure isn’t normal. I have even thought of reporting this to the police for unsafe chemical levels in the water. Then there’s the gym. One dark colored staff member repeatedly approached me about wearing Crocs while working out before my swim. I get that there may be safety concerns, but It’s simply more convenient for me because I swim afterward—do I really need to carry a second pair of shoes every visit? I’ve worn the same Crocs at other gyms like GoodLife without issue. Overall, I’m very disappointed by the lack of cleanliness, poor communication from staff, and inconsistent enforcement of rules. As a customer who pays to be here, I feel unheard and unfairly treated. These aren't minor issues—they affect how safe, respected, and welcome people feel. I truly hope the management takes this feedback seriously, because I’m sure many others feel the same but stay silent.

I absolutely love this gym. I feel super comfortable there! The staff are all great and they have an amazing team of childminders if you're looking for a childminding while you work out! I highly recommend the YMCA, they do great work in the community and they have excellent facilities with great programming.

Nobody knows how to count… it’s pretty ridiculous. At least the dumbbells are put away. Half the time barbells are left with plates abandoned… some classes take up the basketball courts and only 3 or 4 ppl are taking the class. This will be my last month at this gym

I had a disappointing experience at this YMCA location in Vancouver. The front desk staff were inattentive, often using their phones while members were waiting in line. I also felt that the way they spoke to people was unprofessional and disrespectful, particularly the Black lady and the Indian girl at the front desk. I want to be clear that this is not about race, but simply an honest account of how I was treated. On the positive side, the facility is clean, quiet, and the gym equipment is well-maintained and hygienic. I even saw someone cleaning the machines during my visit, which shows they take cleanliness seriously. If management could focus on improving the professionalism and attitude of the front-line staff, it would really enhance the overall experience. Thank you!

The pool is always closed. First, it was shut down for four weeks because of a burst pipe — which is understandable, since things like that happen. But the communication was terrible. The only update we got was one email saying the pool would reopen on April 3, 2025. I ended up having to call and ask if it was open, and was told "not yet, maybe in a few days." Fast forward another week: the pool had quietly reopened, but there was no email or update sent out to let anyone know. Today, I made it all the way onto the pool deck, in my swimsuit, only to find out the pool was closed again. Once again, there was zero communication — no emails, no updates on the website, nothing. When I went to the front desk, I finally saw a small sign saying the pool would be closed until 4 p.m. But most people don't scan in at the front desk — they scan at the gates — so it’s easy to miss. If you're not going to email updates, at least put signage at the gate or even on the pool doors inside the changerooms. This was a complete waste of my time. The poor communication is becoming really frustrating.
Patricia C — Google review
Too overcrowded. Been here more than 11 times and about 4 of them I couldn't find a squat rack available. I've been coming 7 am early and different times throughout the day on a weekend. It's abysmal that you have a sign outside advertising to try YMCA for free when the gym is already so packed. I only signed up because of the gym and the convenient location, but I'm paying as much as I'd be paying a high quality gym like Evolve. I tried pausing my membership when I was traveling. They wouldn't pause it at the front desk. I have to email them a request to pause it. I never heard back and I got charged the next week. I emailed them again requesting to cancel this time and that's when they finally sent me the form to either pause or cancel. My entire experience at this YMCA has been disappointing

Located in North Vancouver, the Karen Magnussen Community Recreation Centre is a family-friendly facility offering a variety of activities for all ages. The center features a non-intimidating wave pool, toddler area, and family whirlpool, making it an ideal spot for kids. With modern facilities including fitness equipment and spacious gymnasiums, the center caters to fitness enthusiasts as well. Additionally, it offers programs such as group fitness classes, youth activities, and seniors' programs.
The gradual entry pool is great for babies and toddlers. The wave pool is great for bigger kids. Waves are on a select times only. The only drawback is that the pool and change rooms are dated.

Karen Magnussen Community Centre is a great facility with a variety of amenities for all ages. The wave pool is a highlight, offering a fun and unique swimming experience, especially for families with kids. The gym and fitness areas are well-equipped, and the rink provides a good space for ice skating and hockey. The facility is generally clean and well-maintained, though it can get quite busy during peak hours. The staff is helpful, but sometimes the front desk can be a bit slow. Parking is usually available, but during events or busy times, it can be a bit challenging to find a spot. The overall atmosphere is welcoming, making it a great place for recreation and community activities. A few improvements in maintenance and crowd management could make it even better, but it’s still a solid place to stay active and enjoy different sports and activities. Definitely worth a visit!

I had been having ongoing issues with my membership account for quite a while, and previous attempts to fix it weren’t successful. But today, I was lucky to be helped by a front desk staff member named Erin (I hope I’m spelling her name right — she was working around 4:30 PM). She was amazing! She called the IT department twice on my behalf and patiently followed up until the issue was finally resolved. Thanks to her help, my account is now working again. I really appreciate her professionalism, patience, and kindness. Thank you, Erin!

This review is regarding the pool/systems around it. I remember coming here as a kid; it was so much cleaner and we never had to wait for public swim. This may not be KM’s fault but DNV needs to look at the timing of their overall lesson versus family public swim schedule. I realize lessons are already hard to come by but if KM is the ONLY rec centre on the entire north shore with a public swim between 3:30-7:30 on a weeknight, of course it’s going to be packed. There were people we talked to there who normally go to west van! Maybe they need to chat with west van and try to coordinate rotating days amongst the bigger family friendly pools. We waited 30 mins after arriving to enter the pool. The poor solo woman at the desk was fielding more and more people without an official way to keep track of who came when, thankfully we all used the honour system. When you’re a parent, you look up schedules and plan the whole pool/dinner/bedtime timing trusting the rec centre posting public swims (that you pay taxes to fund) will be able to accommodate that. Talking to other parents, it seems this overcapacity issue is happening more frequently. My suggestion sadly is to take it back to the Covid system where everyone must reserve and pay in advance. As for cleanliness, both times we have been here the universal change room floors have been unhygienic (aka someone’s shaven hair of unknown body part all over floor, soggy mushy food on floor etc).
Lauren A — Google review
Very disappointed with the staff especially a life guard (Sheryl) so rude and unprofessional!!! It used to be my favourite community centre but today I felt really bad. It’s sad to see how the bad behaviour of one staff member could ruin the whole experience.

Extremely unsanitary pool – would give zero stars if I could. Nothing was being checked or enforced. Some people were even swimming in T-shirts. There was no mandatory shower before entering, no foot disinfecting station or chlorine pool, and no rules about removing makeup. No slippers were provided either. After just one visit, my young son developed severe redness and inflammation on the soles of both feet, likely a fungal infection caused by the poor hygiene conditions. This place clearly lacks even the most basic health and safety standards. One star is too generous.
Tabassom L — Google review
It’s dated for sure, but I set my expectations accordingly. I only used the fitness centre and was pleasantly surprised. Equipment for squatting and benching better than most commercial gyms, as they have many benches you can bring into one of 3 racks where you can set your rack height and safety height exactly to meet your needs. I struggled to find what equipment they had online, so here it is: Many benches, including a decline bench and seat next to the dumbbells. 3 power cages with safeties and lockjaw clips (best brand of clips there is). Decent barbells, ez bar, trap bar, dowels. Lots of cables, lat pulldown, seated cable row, chest flys, leg press, back extension, leg extension, leg curl. Plenty of cardio options. Kettlebells. Floor/mat area.

This community gem also features a spacious 5000 sqft seniors lounge and hosts an array of engaging programs throughout the year.

The swimming lessons here are great for kids. The teachers are awesome! But unfortunately the change rooms are so filthy I don't feel comfortable bringing my kids in. Lots of facilities and I'm taking a beginner 's tennis class here and enjoying it very much. I feel grateful to have a community center nearby.
Jennifer R — Google review
I have mixed opinion about this place. It definitely belongs to the "better ones" with regards to community centers in Vancouver. First of all, bring your own lock, as they don't provide any, and only a few locker has key. If you want to swim and dive, forget about it, the pool depth is ridiculously low, 3'6", so 1 m and 10 cm. The whirlpool is hot and nice, the jets are intense, I enjoyed my time in it. Their dry sauna is a medium one for 15 people max, and it functions perfectly. The stove is hot, therefore the humidity that some obnoxious people generate by washing themselves and the benches from their water bottle is not extremely high. Instead of "don't put water on the rocks", "don't put water on the bench" would be way more appropriate.
Livia E — Google review
One of the worst community centers when it comes to the gym/weight room. It’s basically a small, claustrophobic space with too many people waiting for their turn. Instead, there are two large rooms full of cardio equipment- a complete waste of space.

Second Beach, located on the western side of Stanley Park, offers a family-friendly experience with its sandy shore, grassy playground, and concession stand serving ice cream and treats. The beach is complemented by the heated outdoor Second Beach Pool, suitable for little swimmers. Nearby amenities include the Stanley Park Pitch & Putt course and free summer outdoor movie screenings by Fresh Air Cinema.
Evo Movie Night at Second Beach Park 🎬🌊 What an amazing experience! Watching a movie under the stars right by the beach was something special. The atmosphere was super relaxed, people brought blankets and snacks, and the vibe was just good energy all around. The screen and sound were great, and it felt like the perfect summer night. Definitely doing it again next time. A fun and unique way to enjoy the city!

Such a nice long beach with lots of sand!!! Good to play around in summer in this beach with your family in Vancouver!!! Visit here if you are in Vancouver!!! (Or visiting Vancouver for sure!!!👍)

Second beach is a nice small beach, a smaller compared to English Bay and third beach. It’s more family oriented and it’s close to accessible bathrooms and multiple playgrounds. Occasionally, it can be closed for E. coli, but that’s not very often. And there’s a pool on the right of the beach if you wanna go swimming.
Gabriel D — Google review
If you want to fine a place where for watching sunset and your children can play in grass field, I recommend second beach.

Second beach is a nice place to chill with families and friends who love a park/beach setting. It even has a section with a pool for the pool lovers and tables to host your picnics. There is a good washroom facility and ample parking
Dwayne B — Google review
Second Beach is a hidden gem in Stanley Park. I love the mix of nature and city views—it feels like you’re in a forest but still close to downtown. The pool area is perfect for a summer dip, and the beach itself is clean and quiet compared to other spots. Watching the sunset here is magical, and the nearby concession stand makes it easy to grab a snack after a walk.

It's gorgeous. Lots of sitting and picnic area. It also has a playground for kids. My son really loved the firetruck on the playground. There were also stalls selling fresh cherries. Food shops and washrooms are near to the swimming pool. We had some ice cream and it was absolutely delicious.

Templeton Park Pool is an indoor swimming facility that prides itself on being inclusive and accessible to all visitors, regardless of their physical abilities. The pool offers a variety of amenities catering to swimmers of all ages and skill levels. It features wheelchair accessibility, a hot tub, sauna, and private dressing stalls. The community-oriented space has garnered positive feedback for its safe and respectful environment.
Great basic pool for a swim. Sad to see some transphobes leaving reviews here. Ignore them, positive energy abounds.
Ian B — Google review
Being a public pool, they value inclusivity for all individuals, including grown old men who say they identify as a 5 year old female, dress is a girls bikini and shower with the young girls. Please watch your children and be within arms reach at all times, at every city public pool location. There are strange people in the hot tub who enjoy staring at children and women all day, sit on the jets and moan. They offer lots of activities and lessons for children whom may have to endure being around this..
Rachel Z — Google review
A Greta option to swim with toddlers and baby's! They have a toddler pool open 4 hours a day! It is very clean and warm, it has toys to play with.
Ana L — Google review
Stop giving 'some' people a hard time about having access to the pool area. You can see my child is in a swimsuit. You can see that I'm fully dressed. Either ask everyone the same question about why they want access, or ask no one.
J P — Google review
last time my partner and i were here, we were on the side of the pool discussing problems with freestyle breathing. a lifeguard overheard and took the time to give us advice - explained everything really well and it dramatically changed my swimming for the better. thank you!! trans friendly <3 the hot tub is under a big skylight - peak bathing + basking experience.
Lauren H — Google review
Good facilities, but they do not seem to value the public very much despite being a "public pool". It seems like most of the time there is just one lane open because of swimming lessons or swim club training or something else. It would be better if they had more frequent hours (especially after normal work hours end) that had multiple lanes open to the public.

that was horrifying experience...idk where the administration is looking... this happens in all community centres, swimming pools and saunas...are they for Chinese people ONLY now...? where can i go to relax for 20 min? Maple Grove Pool is a family-friendly outdoor facility with a shallow, heated pool and graded beach access for safe water entry. The pool features a captivating spray fountain that provides endless entertainment for children. It offers an idyllic setting with plenty of grass space, both shaded and unshaded, and good parking availability. Visitors are advised to purchase tickets ahead of time due to limited seating and time sessions. Despite the restrictions, it remains a familiar and enjoyable place for families with kids.
We opened the summer season at Maple Grove outdoor pool. It is not crowded. The pool is clean and its surroundings are clean. There is also a children's playground so children have a lot of fun here. Also parking is free. It is not a deep pool, it is designed for children, there is no garbage bin inside and the toilets are outside.
GOZDE K — Google review
It is a relatively large and hidden pool that is mostly only known by locals. Compared to other pools I've been to, this one wasn't the best. It's deepest area is only 3.5ft deep. This pool is obviously meant for parents to bring their kids (<12). I do like the grassy area around the pool, but the washroom is outside of the pool and it's a long walk if you're cold after getting out of the pool.
Marcus X — Google review
Love this place and make us feel happy. This year we have to book tickets via online with limited seat and time sessions. But it works well and people keeping well the restrictions. By the time you can line up first and scanning for your ticket. Then you can get in first and make your favorite spot first! It’s not enough time to enjoy a day but still worth it. This place very familiar to families with kids.

Brought my grandchild here ,it was clean and they had a guy singing with a guitar,it really made a nice atmosphere. There is a grassy hill surrounding the pool. You need to bring a lunch, as there is no concession but it's also a nice place for a BBQ. Staff was very friendly.

It's small and there are not indoor showers. Just a few changing rooms and washrooms not clean. I'm glad there are pools in parks for kids I just recommend to maintain better 😀
Sofia R — Google review
Pool for kids and families, not for adolts. The place looks old, and not well maintained like the rest of the pools in Vancouver. You can buy ticket in the entrance or online. Usually there is no problem of ticket availability like in the other pools. Near the pool there is a small playground. There is free parking near the pool.
Gal N — Google review
A nice pool located in Yew street near Marine Drive, wide view and have life guard to ensure kids enjoy their time without danger. Recommends for kid and family during summer. Ticket can be purchased at the entrance however I recommended you buy it online which can ensure you can enter at the specific time slot. Child age under seven is required an adult with a hand reaching range while in water.

Kitsilano Beach, also known as "Kits Beach," is a popular urban beach located in the trendy neighborhood of Kitsilano in Vancouver. It offers sandy shores, a playground, volleyball courts, and a large saltwater pool. The beach provides white-sand access to the ocean, along with amenities such as washroom and changeroom facilities, concessions, and lifeguards during the summer months.
Beautiful sandy beach perfect for spending an evening and watching the sunset. Can get crowded during peak hours, weekends, and holidays, but is still enjoyable. Occasionally there are vendors here.
Harry H — Google review
Nice beach, crowded during weekends in summer. Can be noisy with people that don't respect the noise by-law. Great if you like the crowd and noise like in Mexico beaches. Beautiful sunsets.
K. A — Google review
Kitsilano Beach is one of Vancouver’s most popular waterfront destinations. On sunny weekends, it fills up with both locals and visitors eager to enjoy everything it has to offer. It’s not just a place for a relaxing walk—many people come here to swim, surf, play beach volleyball, ride bikes, play tennis or basketball, jog, or simply enjoy the outdoors. There are several parking areas along the beach, and if you’d like to cycle, you can rent a bike from one of the nearby rental stations. Picnic tables are available in various spots, so you’re welcome to bring your own food and enjoy a meal by the sea. There are also playgrounds for children and outdoor showers for rinsing off after a swim. Public restrooms are available for convenience. There are multiple ways to get to Kitsilano Beach, but let me share my own route—it’s quite simple. First, take the Canada Line to Olympic Village Station. Just outside the station, catch the #84 bus. Depending on traffic, the ride takes about 10–15 minutes. Get off at Yew Street. From there, walk straight down Yew Street—don’t turn anywhere—and it will lead you directly to Kitsilano Beach. A small tip: Even if it’s sunny, it can get windy at times, so bringing a light jacket might be a good idea.
Culinistanbul — Google review
Don’t be like us who didn’t see that you had to pay for parking. We didn’t see the sign and ran straight to the beach as soon as parked our car lol. It was worth it tho ($69 parking ticket). We loved it here, there is a basketball court and plenty of volleyball nets to play with. Sunset view is so nice, we sat on one of the logs scattered all over the beach. Would definitely come back and will pay for parking next time haha

Kitsilano Beach or as the locals call it "Kits Beach," is one of Vancouver’s most popular spots - and for good reason. The beach offers beautiful views of the mountains and downtown skyline, making it a great place to relax, watch the sunset, or go for a walk. The vibe is always lively, especially in the summer - lots of locals playing volleyball, jogging, picnicking, or just soaking up the sun. There’s a grassy area for lounging, a great walking path, bike path, and even an outdoor pool nearby. Restrooms are clean and have running water. One of the best spots in the city for people-watching, chilling, and enjoying nature with urban energy.
Aplih A — Google review
A popular waterfront beach near Vancouver. Great spot to chill, but try to avoid the busy season as it can be grossly busy. Dawn and dusk are the best times for the vibe. Midday...maybe, but real beach goers know it's dawn and dusk that are It. Pleasant sounds from the water, great breeze. Be mindful of any potential warnings of water quality.
Theos — Google review
A lovely stretch of golden sand that calm (but very cold water), lapping the shore, the beach area is very popular with locals, sun baking, and playing beach volley ball.
V H — Google review
Beautiful views, neat and clean, pleasant place to visit. Be considerate to enjoy and leave it clean. Lots of Canada Geese groups can be seen at close quarters, but be careful to maintain safe distance so as not to annoy them, they are capable of causing consideble annoyence in return. And in the last, quite picturesque place especially when sunny, so do remember to carry your heavier camera in place of clicking through phone only. You will be handsomely rewarded.

The beach offers amenities such as volleyball courts, a concession stand, and beachfront restaurants. Visitors can enjoy stunning skyline views, palm trees, public art displays including the Inukshuk piece representing Inuit culture, and the A-maze-ing Laughter figures by artist Yue Minjun.
English Bay Beach is a Vancouver gem. Located near Stanley Park, this stunning beach offers breathtaking views, beautiful sunsets, and a lively atmosphere. English Bay. A fantastic view of the bay, the Pacific ocean, and False Creek with recreational boats moored and going back and forth along with ship / freighters waiting to load and unload. What a view at anytime of the day but especially spectacular as the sun sets. Added to this is the delicious ice cream served on the beach by: "Rain Of Shine ICE CREAM" Great ice cream, great crew!

Spanish Banks Beach is a bustling sandy beach that offers tidal flats for skimboarders and kitesurfers, as well as volleyball courts. It's quieter than other nearby beaches due to its residential location, making it an optimal place for picnics with unreal views over the water and city skyline. The Seawall stretches along the long beach, providing an ideal setting for a quiet stroll with seagulls and sailboats in the backdrop.
Large beach spot, doesn’t usually get too busy. Can always find a spot to seat even on a hot weekend in the summer. This beach does get significantly more windy than kits, so if it’s not very hot could be a bit chilly. The bigger challenge with this beach is finding parking at peak hours in the weekend, would recommend to get here before 11AM to find a spot. This beach is not as transit accessible at Kits, it’s a much longer walk from the nearest bus stop. There are good washrooms and multiple concession stands on this stretch of beach. This is a popular spot for volleyball and families. You have a very 180 degree view on this beach, can see downtown Vancouver and all the mountains across the water. Highly would recommend if you have a car. Parking near the beach is max 2 hours and pricing is pretty reasonable.
Shawn — Google review
One of the neater beaches I've been to. There's sand and rocky sections, eastwards and westwards, respectfully. Perfect spot to relax and hear the ebbs of the tide at dawn and dusk. Spanish Banks stretches quite far, directly with Point Grey Beach. Great walking space as well. If you opt to sit on the large rocks, move slowly. They can be loose enough that the weight of a person can make them shift or completely roll. Mind your steps.
Theos — Google review

Nestled in the heart of Stanley Park, Third Beach is a popular sandy spot known for its stunning sunset views and ideal picnic setting. Health Canada has deemed it the cleanest beach for swimming, making it a top choice among English Bay options. The beach's secluded location offers a peaceful retreat from the city noise and makes it less crowded than other nearby beaches. Visitors can also enjoy drum circles and musical gatherings on summer nights, adding to the vibrant atmosphere.
Third beach is a larger beach than second beach. It’s always in the sun and it has a nice third beach concession stand up a few flights of stairs. There are connecting bike routes so you can go through Stanley Park or go on the seawall if you prefer but remember that it is only single way bike access.

Third Beach is a pleasant spot, especially in the late afternoon during July. The vibe is relaxed and welcoming, with a mix of locals and visitors enjoying the sun, music, and occasional drum circles. While it's not the most stunning beach in terms of scenery or facilities, it has a laid-back charm that makes it worth a visit. Great for catching sunsets, but not necessarily a must-see if you're short on time.

The sand is great, the water is, too, the vibe is excellent and the crowd overall is lovely and very diverse (great for families, singles, and groups as well). To me this particular place gives a very cool vacation vibe. There are also spontaneous events at times and beach parties plus the weekly drum circle during the summer.

Great beach, lots of sand and it spreads out as you keep walking. Less crowded than Kits Beach. Wonderful pathway, lots of people walking, jogging, and biking. There are 2 concession stands here serving pub style food, cold drinks, and ice cream. There is a pilot alcohol program in place in some areas, signs are clear. Lots of bunnies around here in April and May! Many signs requesting not to feed the bunnies. Many parking stalls available, usually you can find a spot even in peak summer. Pay parking in effect most hours of the day.

New Brighton Park is a memorial park with a beautiful waterfront and beach, great playgrounds and swings, picnic areas, and an off-leash dog enclosure. The parking is difficult at popular times but there's also a pool facility. The memorial park is great for selfies or simply as a wonderful canvas for new posts to Instagram.
Been a long minute since we have been here. Wanted to skip some rocks but didn’t want a far drive. Playground not too shabby and the fields are long and green. The dock is tiny but if you looking for a nice view of the bridge into North Van or some industrial sights, just come here.
Stanley Y — Google review
We were visiting BC for 3 weeks, and this was one of the places we used to go to take the dog for walks. The park is so beautiful and very well-maintained, the paths are not busy at all, and we were also at the pool several times. We had to reserve in advance, which is very convenient. The water is not as cold as I expected, and there is enough room if you want to take a swim or just relax. You can also bring snacks and beverages. I loved it, and surely will be back.
Lu T — Google review
New Brighton Park is a hidden gem in East Vancouver, offering stunning waterfront views that make it a fantastic spot for nature lovers. The scenery is breathtaking, with the Burrard Inlet framed by the North Shore Mountains and the iconic Iron Workers Memorial Bridge. Watching freighters glide by against this backdrop feels serene and almost magical, perfect for a peaceful picnic or a relaxing stroll. The park’s grassy fields, sandy beach, and off-leash dog area add to its charm, making it family-friendly and versatile. The playgrounds are great for kids, and the heated outdoor pool is a summer highlight, though the industrial surroundings slightly detract from its appeal compared to places like Stanley Park. However, parking is a real challenge, especially during peak times. The lots on Wall Street and New Brighton Road fill up quickly, and street parking is limited. I’ve circled around multiple times, and it’s frustrating when you just want to enjoy the park. Some visitors even risk parking in unauthorized spots, which can lead to towing. Despite this, the park’s beauty and amenities make it worth the hassle. Arrive early to snag a spot, and you’ll be rewarded with a memorable day out.

Maple Grove Park is a well-maintained and lush green space, perfect for leisurely walks, picnics, and outdoor activities. The playgrounds are popular among children, while the well-marked walking trails cater to all ages. The park's small pond adds to its scenic beauty and attracts bird watchers. It also features old-growth stumps as a reminder of the area's history, along with amenities like picnic areas, clean restrooms, and a fitness area.
This park has kept many old-growth stumps to remind everyone of the historic giant trees that once covered the surrounding areas. There’s a good playground with swings for toddlers. A fitness area with chin-up bars and hanging rings. Two baseball diamonds for Little League players. Lots of benches with a mix of both sun and shade. Picnic tables with standing barbecue grills for charcoal cooking. Clean bathrooms. The main pool feature is wonderful in the summer with lots of green space inside a fenced area. Enjoy!

A fabulous park with towering trees 800 years old! This place includes a dynamic playground, two sets of swings, a baseball field and a great place for picnics and outdoor activities. Not to mention a giant outdoor pool and concession stand which would also be 5 stars if they offered debit cards and credit cards. An incredible place to hang out in the summer, offers free music for families every Friday night.

Filled with tall graceful trees, Maple Grove is a wonderfully tranquil place for a stroll or picnic. Massive tree stumps scattered through the park, aesthetic in their own right, are reminders of the temperate rainforest that once covered much of Vancouver. The outdoor pool is a popular summertime destination, with people of all ages enjoying a swim in the sparkling waters. Come in late March or early April to see the four cherry trees. This property was purchased from the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) by the Municipality of Point Grey in the early 1920s and originally named Bowser Park after Francis Bowser, second Reeve of the Municipality. In 1944 the Park Board was petitioned to change the park’s name to Maple Grove in recognition of the beautiful trees found on the site.

Bring your sun shade umbrella, I don't remember any place you could use to hide from the sun. The pool isn't to deep, and is make for kids and really young ones, my niece is only two and loves this place.

Breakfast restaurant
Tim Hortons, a beloved Canadian coffee chain, is known for its premium-blend coffee and a delightful selection of light meals, pastries, and breakfast sandwiches. This particular location has garnered attention for its bustling atmosphere due to nearby attractions like the Broadway Tech Centre and the sky train station. Regular patrons often pre-order their favorite breakfast items but should be prepared for potential wait times during peak hours. Despite being busy, the staff consistently deliver friendly service even when they are stretched thin.
Jigar and Guneet did great job with my order Place was super clean and coffe was super fresh. Very satisfied with the service. Super good smile and attitude Owner really got good good people

I was really impressed with the new renovations. It’s very welcoming and vibrant. It was worth the long wait. On that day they were still installing the kiosks. Hopefully the staff can keep up. This location looks to be a very busy one. I went on a random week day. It was my first time trying the beef sandwich and I was surprised at the thickness of the beef portion. My dad’s turkey club was delicious too. If I’m in the area I would try it again. I hate going to the McDonald’s across the street. The majority of the orders they get wrong all the time.

This Tim Hortons recently got renovated again, and you order at the cashier. It's definitely catered to the area, as it tends to get really busy because of students and workers in the surrounding buildings. They offer the usual Tim Hortons items, and there are different types of seating available.

"Mid" Hortons: For a 9 dollar order, I still was hungry after. The farmers wrap was just okay but took 10min to make. Ultimately lacked any real flavor...needed salt and pepper at Minimum. I have avoided this place while it was new so as to avoid the hiccups that often come with new staff and a new location. But, my friend got a completely wrong order (not sure how that happens from a kiosk order, but....??) and I got a confirmation i wasn't missing much as an option here. Oh and I agree the patio is nice with the other reviewer that said that.

I had such a great experience thanks to this amazing guy! He was incredibly cheerful, had a beautiful and welcoming smile, and truly made my day with his energy. His customer service skills are top-notch — professional, kind, and super helpful. You can tell he genuinely cares about the people he’s helping. Honestly, employees like him are rare and absolutely deserve recognition (and a raise!). Keep up the great work!

Tried Ryan’s breakfast box. Looked messy, tasted decent. The service was a little slow when I stopped by, but not deal-breaking. The box itself? It won’t win any beauty contests, but the tater tots were crispy, the sauce was flavourful and everything came together better than expected. The dining area is spacious with lots of seating, but definitely could use a deep clean. Not the worst Timmy’s I’ve been to, but not the best either. Decent pit stop if you’re hungry and not too picky about ambiance.

I have visited this Tim Hortons a few times since they reopened. It has a nice atmosphere and it's quite a busy location. However, I was served with a burnt bagel which I have never seen in any Tim Hortons before. Like don't you look at the bagels after taking them out of the oven before putting anything on them?? How is that reasonable to serve a burnt bagel? This is so disappointing.
Nisa V — Google review
I don’t like giving negative reviews, however, my experience at this Tim Hortons was pretty weird. I ordered an iced latte with almond milk. A pretty simple/popular order. It took them about 20 minutes for my order to arrive (that’s pretty long, but whatever I guess, It gets busy) what really threw me off is the fact that the person making my drink didn’t give me what I ordered at all. I saw them process the order, and they made this strange concoction of different milks and creams and then proceeded to add like a tablespoon of coffee? Maybe? Into the drink. My friend and I were laughing because this drink was difficult for us to fathom anyone ordering. I was surprised to hear them call my name and give me this drink. I don’t even think whatever that drink was is something anyone would willingly consume. It tasted like an entire bottle of coffee creamer was dumped into a cup. My drink was basically white. I’m adding an extra star because I definitely could have tried to get someone’s attention to correct my order- that’s on me. The reason I didn’t was because they were working on correcting the orders of five people ahead of me, so the fact that this was a consistent issue has me writing this review. I’m currently trying to come up with a name for the experiment of a drink I was given. Some have suggested “the lactose lovechild” others have suggested “the colon explosion” All I know is that even though my order was suspiciously wrong, I now have a cool story to tell, so thanks I guess? Lol. TLDR: Tim Hortons hired a barista that’s going to give you a drink based off of “vibes” instead of what you ordered - lactose intolerant people beware.

Mahon Park is a delightful gem nestled in North Vancouver, perfect for families and outdoor enthusiasts alike. This expansive neighborhood park boasts an array of amenities, including playgrounds, picnic tables, and sports fields for soccer and basketball. For those seeking adventure, the park features charming ravine trails that offer a mini rainforest experience—ideal for little explorers despite being less stroller-friendly due to some steep sections and bridges.
A favorite area I take strolls in after a busy day. Great toddler play area, with public bathrooms and water spray area during summer months. picnic benches and lots of areas to post up. Excellent track for cross training and artificial turf for sports. The trails are great for beginners.🫡😶‍🌫️

This park is near my house and I found it today while I was browsing. It is very quiet in the evenings and nights and there is almost no traffic. In the morning, people come here for a walk and others bring their dogs here for a walk. The tree species that exist here are very diverse and very old and sturdy. On the walking path, you can hear the sound of a small river in this park, and it has a very dreamy and beautiful atmosphere.
Arash K — Google review
Great facility. Used to run here back when it was a terrible dirt track. The upgrades are excellent, though they should have added more lanes to make it viable for competitions. The interior turf field is regularly used for soccer, so heads up if you are doing laps! There is a bit of equipment at the perimeter of the track which can make for some great additions to the workout. Throw in the waterpark that is adjacent to the track and it really makes it great for the whole family. Behind the stadium, a beach volleyball court has just been installed and the pickleball and basketball court are relatively new additions also. There is a great, well-sized, off-leash dog park as well. If you look, you can even see the stone that has been there since Mahon Park had an outdoor public pool, something North Van certainly needs to bring back.
Michael W — Google review
Mahon Park is a lovely local spot connecting the Fen Burdette Stadium and access to a walking trail. Bathrooms are regularly maintained. The park hosts a water spray park, playground and open space to relax. Benches & picnic tables spread out to allow opportunities to pause and enjoy the park. It gets busy in the spring and summer months as a popular and safe spot to bring young children Street parking available with a short path into the play area. There is also an adult fitness apparatus that seems well utilized. There is a pickleball court, skate park & enclosed dog park nearby, just behind the stadium. Wheelchair accessible
TJ H — Google review
Young children love the playground and water park. Older children play soccer here. Any age can run on the track!

Mahon Park is a great place to go for a walk with the dog or kids. The park features several lovely trails and a couple of creeks. The trails can get muddy and slippery at certain times of the year, so bring appropriate footwear. A few trails have steep inclines, so they may not be suitable for the elderly or those with physical disabilities.

Kerrisdale Community Centre, established in 1952, is one of the original community hubs in Vancouver. It offers a diverse range of recreational programs suitable for all age groups, including swimming lessons, dance classes, pottery workshops, and health & fitness sessions. The center's website provides easy access to program information and registration.
It is an old building, in a very charming historical neighborhood of Vancouver. But the location is perfect for transit and I love the surrounding area. The staff are friendly enough and the facility is clean, just old. But it has the neighborhood charm and I always love reading the community notice board on the way out.
Ceaux C — Google review
Good community center. Small gym. Great Zumba classes! Old building, has seen better days. Parking is tight and always busy.
Shawn — Google review
Great little neighbourhood community centre with a friendly feel and decent programs. That said, the infrastructure really needs a major makeover. Given that this is Kerrisdale, I think many of us are hoping the City will invest in a much-needed upgrade soon. The gymnasium is solid and a fantastic space for kids and teens—especially for drop-in basketball. My only wish is that there was a publicly viewable online schedule (and ideally, a more consistent schedule with more frequent drop-in times). The fitness centre is small, and while you can make it work, the current setup is awkward. It would benefit from a reorganization of the downstairs area and upgrades to equipment—another stair master and more spin bikes would be great additions. With the recent increase in fees, it would be nice to see those dollars reflected in better equipment and a more functional layout. Overall, it’s a good community hub, but it has so much potential if the City committed to modernizing the space.
Meli A — Google review
this community center is amazing, and the staff provide a nice feeling in the space. a mix of young and old, makes for a fun and interactive nature on both the main floor, and the downstairs of the recreation center. every day there are different fun activities going on, and the gym while small- makes for the perfect workout.

Ilya D — Google review
The Kerrisdale community centre needs a major face lift and better organization. While they provide good services for the senior community and they have a decent gymnasium, their gym is too small.and their pool is oart of a different organization which makes it more costly and a bureaucratic nightmare. I mean, any service to the community should be easy. If you go tovthe YMCA they have much better facilities and they are very good at providing discount prices for low income people. We need a champion msnaging the kerrisdale community centre to make things easy for people

Jericho Beach is a must-visit spot with its breathtaking views of Stanley Park, downtown, and the mountains. The Galley Patio and Grill has been a popular destination since 1990, attracting visitors to Jericho Beach and nearby Spanish Banks. Sunset Beach, located at the mouth of False Creek, offers a perfect way to end your day with its convenient location near downtown Vancouver hotels.
A stunning park that seamlessly transitions from lush grass to sandy shores, complete with a dedicated bike path for easy exploration. The highlight for me is the abundance of bunnies that roam the park—they’re absolutely delightful and make every visit special!

It's a very beautiful beach overlooking the west Vancouver and the 3 mountains. It's not let friendly but have alot of place for your pet to go around. The walk from Jericho to the connecting Beach is beautiful. Sometimes the water is dirty but it's the best place to take a dip while watching the sunset.

Although we couldn’t skate there when we arrived at the park but we will definitely come back when it’s dry. This is a beginner friendly park with mini ramps are not too intimidating. There are banks gaps and ledges for all kinds of grinds you can think of. Outstanding!!!

Go-to park in the neighbourhood with nice, well maintained facilities. Not an official off-leash dog park, but there are often quite a few off-leash dogs especially on the beautiful recently redone field that is almost fully gated (there are several entrances, but is fenced for the most part). The field is gigantic, about 3 football stadiums. There is flat terrain, as well as downhill stretches that make a great safe and popular sledding spot. There’s also more pasture on the west side of the park that is not fenced and has a more elevated view of the city and mountains. There’s a convenient parking lot, as well as a community centre. Apart from a playground, they’ve also got a small skate park with a nice respectful community

The community center Renfrew Park is a great place for kids swimming lessons and gym, with next door access to the library. The parking lot can be a bit of a hassle, but the staff are always very helpful.
Hosted a birthday party recently here and it was wonderful! Their full package includes the bounce castle, button making, crown decor, face painting and balloon making. Had a hiccup the year prior but they certainly helped make it up this year and Kieran and his staff helped make my son’s second birthday a memorable one. The community centre also has a nice library for toddlers to enjoy as well as a pool. In the summer it’s nice because the wadding pool is filled with water. Will definitely go back for another birthday year!

Love this rec Centre. It's definitely a staple in the community. I love the multiple gyms they have for activities and staff is super friendly. I think it deserves some funds fo a little upgrade. From what I saw it looks they have upgraded not sure if it was fundraising or from the govt. But they have a preschool there now with a newer playground for that part of the centre which is enclosed ( love this for security) also another benefit would be that the times I went IT wasn't super full and they also have 2 work out rooms

I was a victim of theft inside the pool facilities in Vancouver. I paid my entrance fee as usual and left my belongings in the lockers. When I returned to leave, my items were gone: my phone, my wallet with important documents (I’m a student), and cash. An employee approached me and asked if I had been robbed, clearly noticing my distress. This theft happened inside an area where paying for access is mandatory, which makes it even more concerning. The only response I received was: “We’re very sorry”. I am still waiting for information about the security cameras and a formal response from the management. I share this to warn others visiting this place to be extremely cautious. I wouldn’t want anyone else to go through the same experience. It's been several days and I'm still waiting for a response.
Bryan B — Google review
On July 19th, I took my 3-year-old daughter to her swimming class and arrived 10 minutes early. While waiting, she was quietly playing in the shallow area with her life jacket on. Out of nowhere, a man with short bright yellow hair (around 6ft tall) came over and said to her, "If you're not coming out, I'm going to call the police." Regardless of whether he meant it seriously, it was completely inappropriate and rude — especially towards a 3-year-old child. She was left feeling confused and threatened. What made it worse is that he had no lanyard, no uniform, no visible ID — nothing to show he was even an employee. I still don’t know what his role was, or why someone with unclear authority felt entitled to speak to a child like that. Community centres are funded by taxpayers to serve and support families — not to scare kids or allow unidentified individuals to manage the pool area. This was unacceptable and concerning. I hope management will improve staff training and enforce proper identification going forward.
Benny X — Google review
The weight room is tiny and the equipment is extremely limited. It's fine if you're there for cardio and are a casual lifter, but for a powerlifter like me, it is sub optimal. Someone said I was lifting "too heavy" so I'm not sure about the community there. Also some kids had the bench press occupied for a good hour or so. Love the iron weights but there are only 2 pairs of them.
Rylan P — Google review
The fitness is noisy sometimes and nobody is enforcing the noisy users to lower the noise. The equipment can be connected to Apple Watch. Only 1 of the 4 treadmill has the Apple Watch connectivity functional.

They had a short swimming pool about 200-250 yards. Great for lengths lap swim beginners. Unlike the down town Aquatic center lap lanes...which is much longer ..( 4 time the length of refrew pool) Refrew pool had: A whirl pool A sauna A fitness gymnastics room CLASSES includes: Fitness Judo Samurai swords training Kids Swimming lessons Aqafit classes. I had been going there last 25 years...staff are friendly. Life guards are "A" team. Alert, and very observant.... Best time to go swimming "length" is after 8 pm. It's a popular pool, can get crowded in afternoon..there's lesson for kids, plus 50 parents watching after school hrs. It's an older building.. then each year's June..they close for 1 month to renovate.. that's the only inconvenience. I go to Eileen Daily pool on Hasting & Willingdon. Length swim 9 am - 10 pm. As for Renfrew pool. Today..at the pool..I see these kid Loving, & caring instructor taught 6 ..four years old kid to dive.. All 6 were so happy..such orderly manner!!

Visitors can enjoy lap swimming, diving boards, a separate kids' area, saunas in each changing area, and a women's only sauna.
Quite a good swimming pool to practice. All the times I went there had enough space for me & my wife to swim more than an hour in a single lane on our own. (check schedule for swimming only. It also has a really hot tub. But unisex sauna rooms are small & inside changing rooms.

I'm sure it's hard to avoid, being an old building and being open to the public but I found a cockroach chilling boldly in sight in the men's change room. Kinda turned me off from leaving my stuff in the lockers. I don't want to bring an infestation home with me. The pic doesn't do it justice, it was a pretty big one

Today was my first time using their pool. I called in first today and even said it's my first time and I would be in at 5.30pm they said all good. I was just 20 min in the pool doing an exercise for my back, a life guard told me I have to.leave the pool at 6pm as it will be under 18years only, that was very disappointing, so I wanted to use then the hot tub after as I have planned before and they said that area is also for under 18 only :( The guy on the phone should have told me, then I wouldn't have bothered coming and paying for 30min and rather gone to another pool.

Very clean outdoor pool. There is abundant area to tan on the outside. As well the pool is larger then your standard outdoor pool. The lifeguards are super friendly. There is not really a shallow area so be aware if you have small kids. Also if you want to do laps, you have to go during set times where there are lanes.

Lord Byng Pool & Fitness Centre is a leisure facility that offers a variety of amenities for visitors. The center features an inviting swimming pool suitable for casual swimmers and those looking for structured aquatic exercise. Additionally, the gym is well-equipped with cardio machines and weights. Guests can also enjoy the sauna, hot tub, and other facilities such as washrooms, change rooms, lockers, showers, vending machines, and parking.
On the page it says that from 10 am a lane is available for the public and they do not allow an adult to swim accompanied by a 7-year-old girl who has been swimming since she was 2 years old. It was only exercise swimming for 1 hour or less. They have very basic prejudices about exercise and children. Comment from 7 days later: We returned during public hours and the entire crew was excellent with us. Even the lady at the reception from the last time. We are very grateful for their attention to me and my daughter, who I believe with occasions like today, will always have this pool and moments saved forever in her perfectly happy side of her childhood and personal development.

I’m extremely disappointed and angry about the lack of safety and professionalism I witnessed during my child’s swimming lesson at this facility. The instructor showed no effort to assess the children's swimming abilities. My son, 5 years old who does not know how to swim, was told to jump in right after meeting her at his first class. Thankfully, he asked her nicely to go into the pool to catch him—which she did reluctantly and without a smile. Later, she asked the children to retrieve a ring from the bottom of the pool. When he tried, he began to drown. I saw the panic on his face and immediately yelled for help. Shockingly, the instructor hadn’t even noticed he was struggling until I shouted. Instead of comforting my son afterward, she blamed him for not holding the bar properly. When I explained that he couldn’t swim and should have been kept within reach, she continued making excuses and showed no remorse. This experience was terrifying for both of us. I cannot understand how someone so cold and inattentive is allowed to teach young children. I hope the management takes this seriously because this was a close call that could’ve ended far worse. Parents—please watch your children closely during lessons. I regret trusting that he was in safe hands!!! 💔😭😭

Probably the worst pool in all CoV pools. Schedules got changed frequently while no update were announced on their website; Karen staff and sometimes Karen clients, yes I read similar comments on other reviews, which means I’m not the only one feeling this; rent out or segregate specific area for lessons or kids even if the lanes were overcapacity, etc. it’s better off educating the staff there that it’s a city pool for general public in the first place. It sucks now.

Came here to swim lengths, it has 2 small lanes for it, the rest is for families. The 2 lanes were extremely busy and not divided by speed. Don't come to this pool for lengths.

Went to join a gym today but ended up not joining at all just because of the lady at the reception. She seriously needs rest and maybe a job that doesn’t involve talking to people. No manners, no energy, no idea how to treat others.

Nice pool, I love the sauna. It's pretty quiet during the week.
Tristan P — Google review
Nice pool with a good hot tub and sauna, unfortunately the fitness area is outdated and lacks some equipment.

Beach
Trout Lake Beach offers a unique escape from the typical oceanfront experience, nestled at the southern end of Trout Lake in East Vancouver. As the city's only official freshwater beach, it provides a serene environment for those seeking tranquility amidst nature. With no boats allowed on the lake without special permission, visitors can enjoy ample space for swimming and relaxation. The beach is perfect for families and friends looking to host BBQ gatherings, as grilling is permitted here!
The view of Grouse Mountain from Trout Lake Beach is fantastic during Fall! The lake itself is also very pretty.

Wonderful little local park with a parking trail around the lake. Lots of activities for everyone to do including walking and cycling. On the north side of the lake is a big off leash area, and older kids playground on the east side of the lake, and a newer playground on the west side by the community center. Lots of parking lots around the lake and street parking also available.

Nothing better than a sunny October day walk around Trout Lake. Love it when the water is still and the colours pop in the afternoon sunlight. Great views of the North Shore mountains. Fabulous destination spot for East Vancouver. Beware of the mud, I guess 😂 #deepmud

Trout Lake, nestled within John Hendry Park in Vancouver, is a true urban oasis. Despite being within city limits, it offers a surprising escape into nature. The lake itself, though not huge, is picturesque, surrounded by lush greenery and the sounds of birdsong. It's a popular spot for a leisurely stroll or jog along the well-maintained trails that encircle its perimeter. Families flock to the park, enjoying picnics on the grassy slopes and watching children play on the playground. In the summer, the lake comes alive with swimmers, kayakers, and paddleboarders, all taking advantage of the cool, refreshing water. Even in the winter, the snow-dusted landscape offers a serene beauty, perfect for a quiet walk. Trout Lake provides a valuable connection to nature within the city, a place to relax, recharge, and appreciate the natural beauty of Vancouver.
