Nestled within the stunning surroundings of Stanley Park, the Vancouver Aquarium is a must-visit destination for families and marine enthusiasts alike. This beloved attraction offers an incredible opportunity to explore both local and exotic aquatic life, showcasing over 65,000 animals including playful sea otters, charming penguins, and majestic sea turtles. For more than six decades, it has been dedicated to education and conservation rather than flashy performances.
Great sea otter program by Vanessa! Super engaging and loved getting to know more about the otters. Also really enjoyed the seal feeding and getting to know more about the rescues! The entire aquarium was a blast, got to see so many amazing creatures, the pacific and tropical sections are beautiful. Highly recommend getting tickets online, and they have a great student discount. 10/10 would recommend for a great half day trip.
Jessica C — Google review
It's an excellent place to visit as long as it's not too busy. On the smaller side compared to other aquariums I've been to but there's lots of small exhibits for the animals they take care of. Definitely recommend visiting on a weekday to avoid the crowds, and if you live in the area, maybe consider buying a yearly membership as it pays for itself after 2-3 visits and the single day passes are very expensive.
Millie M — Google review
A fantastic experience! The staff were really friendly, there is a lot of variety of animals and things to see, plus the facts to each exhibit are really interesting and fun to read! The gift shops are really cool, it is really easy to buy too many things! I would love to visit again
Peter S — Google review
A decently sized aquarium. I would say you can expect to spend up to three hours here. Be sure to catch the Sea Lion show and the 4D movie. As for parking, I was able to get a great spot by arriving about 40 minutes before opening. They actually let us in before the official opening time, which was a nice bonus. I found the aquarium more memorable than the one in Seattle. Being situated inside Stanley Park is also a big plus. As a heads-up, if you’re visiting with multiple people, it may be more cost-effective to purchase a Platinum Membership rather than individual tickets.
Johnson — Google review
An impressive and well designed aquarium featuring a diverse collection of marine life and reptiles. While the building isn’t huge, it’s perfectly sized for an excellent experience where you can explore and learn about different kind of species from around the world.
Ron — Google review
Fantastic experience! The Vancouver Aquarium is beautifully maintained, educational, and full of incredible marine life. Perfect for families and ocean lovers. Parkind could be tricky on busy days. Plan ahead to spend time and watch every exibit without missing any.
Supun J — Google review
Loved the aquarium! Entrance wasn’t cheap but was able to spend several hours here, could easily spend the whole day here as there’s timed programs like the imax and the wet lab etc.
Maria J — Google review
Located inside Stanley Park, this is a nice aquarium with many animal species. There are many fishes that we had never seen before. Apart from the friendly seals, they don't have anything large or monstrous, if you are looking for that. They keep good care of the animals. Even nook & corners of the enclosures were being cleaned. We were a bit surprised that they are one of the largest as we were done with the tour within 2 to 3 hours, so it's not a day spend.

Nestled in the heart of Vancouver, Science World is a captivating destination for families and young explorers. This iconic geodesic dome is brimming with interactive science exhibits that cater to children from toddlers to early teens. With engaging displays like the ever-changing Medieval Mayhem and the permanent Eureka! physics gallery, kids can immerse themselves in hands-on learning experiences. The unique Kidspace area specifically designed for little ones aged 1-3 ensures even the youngest visitors have a place to play and discover.
Lots of fun, plenty of things to do to keep kids entertained. Could do with more hand sanitizer about the place because everyone is touching everything, but it's there if you know where to look for it. Pretty good food options too! You can get a stamp for re-entry if you'd prefer to have lunch elsewhere though.
Bec M — Google review
This place was amazing 👏 So many hands on things to do. We went with an 8, 7, 6 & 3 year old, they all enjoyed a full afternoon there. Admittedly the adults also very much so enjoyed themselves. We went during the week so it wasn't busy at all, that was nice. Now we could have spent HOURS in the massive Lego area!! But I did move the children along 😆 We spent 3 hours, again when not busy that was the perfect amount of time. We've been to science museums in Winnipeg, Regina, and in the states, this so far was the best!
Helena N — Google review
in the summer they have science world after dark for adults with drinks, totally worth it but it’s just few days. it’s a great museum and has something for everyone. parking is sufficient and close, and outside you have park, playground and the false creek

I went to the Cirque Masquerade Ball Halloween Party held at/in Science World. At first, I was totally amazed that such an event could be held in the Science World, based on the size of the event. However, when I attended the event, I realized how big Science World facility truly is. It was a super-amazing venue that seemingly had no difficulty whatsoever to accommodate such a big event. It is such a beautiful facility that accomodated such a large event. I enjoyed meeting several new people, that were very friendly and outgoing similar to myself. I highly recommend it as an awesome place to go to events or venues. I look forward to attending more events that might be held there.

My family of 5 had a great time here. Spent almost 4 hours running around, and we didn't even make it to everything. We loved Molly of Denali, we did lego building, had lunch at Triple O's. The staff was friendly. I would say overall this was a great activity, looking forward to coming back
Raegan P — Google review
I had always heard great things about Vancouver’s Science World, so we came with high expectations — and it did not disappoint! The exhibits are fun, interactive, and educational. My son spent the whole day exploring with endless enthusiasm. A fantastic place for families with kids — highly recommended!
Grace L — Google review
Science World — the giant shiny golf ball that Vancouverites pretend is an educational hub but secretly visit just to poke buttons and spin wheels like overgrown toddlers. It’s a paradise for kids, sure — they run around with wide eyes and sticky hands, discovering the wonders of human anatomy and physics. Meanwhile, adults try to look intellectual while discreetly racing toy cars powered by wind turbines. The exhibits about the human body are fascinating — nothing like realizing how many ways your organs can betray you to make you appreciate science. Between the illusions, experiments, and the occasional “Did you know?” that makes you question your life choices, Science World is both enlightening and humbling. In short, it’s the perfect place to remind yourself that you don’t actually understand gravity as well as you thought you did.
Samuel M — Google review
A great interactive museum for kids under the age of 10. I would highly recommend to get a membership in your hometown because you will get in free. We bought a membership in Edmonton and reaped the benefits today (bypassed the large line and got in free).

Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden, located in Vancouver's historic Chinatown neighborhood, is a serene urban park designed according to Taoist principles. Crafted by 53 Chinese master craftsmen, this garden is a replica of a classical Ming Dynasty Chinese scholars' garden and the first of its kind outside of China. The garden features carefully arranged water, plants, and rocks shipped from China to create an authentic experience.
Quiet & lovely garden in the center of the city. Scavenger hunt for kiddos, plenty of lush bamboo & maples, old bonsai trees & koi ponds. Cafe had neat original artwork for sale. Live classical Chinese musician played in the courtyard and incense wafted while we explored and played with the Buddha boards. Free tea samples and awesome gift shop. Definitely worth it. Easy location too, fun walking around Chinatown.
Ms A — Google review
This is a beautiful and relaxing Classical Chinese Garden. We visited on a recent trip. It was $16 to enter as an adult. Inside we could enjoy the walk and relaxing atmosphere. They offered free tea and there was a room with a few traditional Chinese activities to learn or try. The Garden neighbours a park by almost the same name. The Park is free to enter, and if you were just looking for a taste of the experience, you could do that at no cost. The Garden looks over the pond that is shared by both the paid garden and the free park. Spent about 1 hour total between the 2. The exit is through a lovely gift shop.
Alyssa B — Google review
It’s a calm and pleasant spot in an otherwise noisy town, but since it’s part of an open-entry park, the house itself doesn’t really justify the ticket price. Inside you’ll only find some Chinese-style furniture—unclear whether authentic or just styled to look old—arranged in a very bare interior with an equally plain garden. If you’ve ever seen original Chinese homes, you’ll find this one strikingly empty; if you haven’t, it may give you a very basic idea of how they look. The most interesting moment had nothing to do with the house at all: I watched a heron catch a fish from the pond right in front of me. It was extraordinary, something I had never seen so close before. That alone was beautiful. Otherwise, don’t bother paying for the entrance. Just walk behind the statue and you’ll enter the park for free. Nothing inside is worth your time.
Ani R — Google review
Visited June 2025. During our walk around Chinatown, we came across this garden. We walked through a store and out the back door and ended up here. This was a great surprise in an overall depressing situation in the area. The garden is very peaceful to walk around and take in nature right in the middle of the city.
Josh H — Google review
A peaceful place to soothe your peace, I visited the park and classic garden (entry fee) . I came here a few days after my dad's funeral. This has serenity away from the city life beyond the walls.
Jake W — Google review
This place was so cute to stop in while exploring Chinatown. A little oasis in what is kind of a rougher part of the city. We just did the public portion, not the ticketed part, but we saw plenty of lovely botanicals and hidden paths and picture spots. Definitely worth a walk!!
Sara C — Google review
Beautiful mature Chinese garden, well designed. Very popular place in the Chinatown area. A wonderfully designed walled garden, an oasis in the middle of the city. Maintenance is pretty decent. Worth the price of admission.
David F — Google review
Beautiful, peaceful and free garden access. There's also a paid portion as well that I recommend checking out as the design, building materials and construction techniques are from the Ming Dynasty.

Nestled atop a hill, Queen Elizabeth Park is a stunning urban oasis in Vancouver that beckons nature lovers and adventure seekers alike. Spanning 52 hectares, this park is renowned for its meticulously manicured gardens and the enchanting Bloedel Conservatory, where vibrant flora thrives year-round. At an impressive elevation of 125 meters above sea level, visitors are treated to breathtaking panoramic views of the city skyline and majestic mountains beyond.
Come here and experience an amazing park. There are plenty of great reviews and the vast majority are glowing and rightly so. From the Blodel Conservatory to the outdoor gardens to the walking trails this park is an oasis in the middle of urban sprawl. There is an excellent restaurant. There is plenty of parking and easy access to all attractions. Public washrooms are also available. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the park and easily recommend coming here. We will definitely come back.
Kirk D — Google review
Absolutely stunning park with plenty of walkways offering different views, all of which are breath taking. The grounds and everything within them are incredibly well maintained and the staff clearly take pride in this, whilst being respectful and polite to visitors. There is a restaurant on site with great food you can enjoy alongside an amazing view of the Vancouver skyline. Highly recommend!
Clare B — Google review
My brother and I used to golf here and play in the snow growing up nearby. The park hasn't changed that much. It is still a lovely place to take visitors and I am hoping to find the artist selling the beautiful Vancouver prints again.
Yvonne — Google review
Queen Elizabeth Park in Vancouver is a remarkable destination offering a blend of natural beauty and recreational activities. One of its highlights is the Bloedel Conservatory, where the entrance fee is around 8 CAD. This conservatory is home to a diverse collection of tropical and subtropical plants, along with vibrant birds, providing a unique indoor garden experience. The park also features stunning flower displays, including sunflowers and roses, creating a colorful and picturesque environment. However, visitors should be prepared for the summer heat, as the park has limited shaded areas. It's advisable to bring a towel and stay hydrated while exploring the beautiful landscapes. The park's mix of botanical wonders and outdoor leisure makes it a must-visit spot in Vancouver.
Zephyr — Google review
Absolutely beautiful park! First stop on our Vancouver trip and it was well worth the beauty. Please take the time and spend the extra cash to drop into the greenhouse. It’s not expensive and the flowers are amazing. The entire garden is well kept and the artwork made with the flowers is incredible. My only recommendation would be to somehow change the water feature that’s no longer in use. Other than that 1000/10 spot to visit.
Joshua P — Google review
It is a beautiful park, great for picking and having the kids run around. It has many other places like the Bloedel Conservatory: a nature and wild life garden, Quarries, and restaurant. Perfect for photo shoot spots, and you can see city from the top of the park. Queen Elizabeth Park's peaceful gardens are great place to spend an afternoon.
Shereen H — Google review
I went playing disc golf. The course design is good with a little challenge that there is a basket beside the lake. The lawn is too muddy if there was rain the day before. I like the separate putting area particularly, good for practice. The view from the observation deck is spectacular. You are able to see all the local ski resorts when the sky is clear. Paid street parking on slope is available.
Lai B — Google review
The best time to visit is in late spring to see flower gardens and Japanese Cherry trees in full bloom. The view of downtown Vancouver is nice at any day, although you have to find a good viewing spot because at some places the view is obstructed by trees. If there are no low clouds, you can also see North Shore Mountains, and they are awesome. If you go there by car, you can park under the Quenn Elizabeth P. on a city street for free. Otherwise, in the park, you have to pay $4.25 for an hour.

VanDusen Botanical Garden, established in 1975 on a former golf course, is situated across 55 acres in Vancouver's Shaughnessy neighborhood. The garden showcases over 7,500 plants and trees from seven different geographic regions. It features diverse greenery, flowers, art installations, a meditation garden, an Elizabethan maze, and cascading streams that create a serene atmosphere.
What a great place ! I didn't know what to expect after I've done several gardens in different cities but this was definitely an amazing one. It's bid enough for you to wander for a couple of hours, it has a restaurant, a café and you can even bring your own picnic basket or buy one there so you can enjoy a sunny afternoon with family or friends. The garden is very well maintained with different zones representing different countries and continents, I love that it reminded some of the plants I've seen during my travels. Overall I'd highly recommend paying them a visit!
Mikael B — Google review
What a fabulous place to visit. It was my last day in Canada with a late night flight. My friend suggested visiting these beautiful Botanical Gardens. Sadly, not visited by many tourists as it is off their transport routes, when you are restricted to time and transportation. The gardens were easy to find and good parking. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Toilets were clean and tidy. There is a cafe and restaurant on site. We only visited the cafe which is very good, with seating inside and out. A map is ideal for finding your way around the gardens. Laid out in zones and clearly marked, they are stunning. Fantastic variety of plants, trees and shrubs, plus water features. Sadly, due to flight times, we were only able to spend about 4 hours there, I could have spent much longer. Well worth the visit and allow yourself time, you need it.
Lisa G — Google review
The botanical garden is an absolute gem that feels like a peaceful escape from the city. Every corner is beautifully designed and filled with vibrant colors, from lush green trees to carefully arranged flowerbeds that change with the seasons. The air feels fresh and clean, and the gentle sound of birds and rustling leaves creates a calming atmosphere that makes you want to stay longer. The walking paths are well maintained, and there are plenty of benches where you can sit, relax, and simply enjoy nature. The greenhouse with exotic plants is especially impressive, offering a glimpse of tropical beauty even on a rainy day. What makes this garden truly special is the sense of care and attention to detail. Everything is arranged with love, from the layout of the plants to the small educational signs that tell interesting facts about each species. It is a perfect place for a quiet walk, a family outing, or simply to clear your mind and reconnect with nature.
Светлана З — Google review
It’s a really huge garden where you could easily spend several hours if you love exploring every single plant. I got there late since they were only open until 2, so I was rushing to see everything but it was still really beautiful and fun. I had no idea black grass even existed!😅It was my first time seeing it. I believe it’s a great place to visit in every season to see how it changes.🥰
Neda F — Google review
Van Dusen in Vancouver is not as well known as Butchart Garden in Victoria but is not to be missed. It’s a beautiful garden of 55 acres tucked away in the city and also has a maze that is not an easy one to get out of, so if you’re claustrophobic, think twice. It was fun to check out the vegetable garden next to the maze, great for kids. The garden is large enough that even when busy, you’ll find places that are quiet where you can stroll among the flowers and trees. There are 7,500 species! Also great way to spend a summer day to escape the heat. The pathways are fairly level and well maintained so ok for those who may be senior or have difficulty walking. There is a cafe and restaurant on site and a store for souvenirs. Nice stop to include if you’re seeing the University of British Columbia Museum.

If you are in need of a break from your busy life , this is the place. Beautiful gardens , wonderful lakes with beautiful fountains gently rippling the waters surface and if you are lucky like us you will see the Heron catch a fish. Just peace and tranquility. Wonderful manicured lawns , planted beds full of summer colour , fountains, grassy knolls and a restaurant. Four hours of bliss. A good walk round , plenty of labels to help identification, but not too far to ealk. You are never far from the path or the exit. Good coffee lovely herb and cheese scones too. A children's learning area and two restaurants complete the park. However the flowers and shrubs are the winners in my eyes. Endless colours , all beautifully planted to show their best sides. I could go back tomorrow and see something different . We'll done to the staff and the volunteers if I lived nearby I would like to volunteer too. Sorry about my feet in the video .
Mark G — Google review
It was quite a nice park to visit! I think the $20 was quite worth if you are very much into parks and gardens and plants in general. The trees were well maintained and curated. Very nice little sections that harmonize with one another. If you’re lucky enough, do catch the free guides that are done by the volunteers. I managed to tag along with one and it made the trip there all the more worth it.
Keith T — Google review
Beautiful flower and very casual walk around. Great variety of trees and plants. With the shaugnessy restarant next door, it makes for a nice place to spend several hours and wander. Parking is free and it fees uncrowded even during busy times. Plenty of benches everywhere. Be advised during summer camp weeks the maze may be filled with lots of small kids who tear though it with high spirits and lots of excitement.

As time goes on, I have very mixed feelings about this gallery. It is the biggest one in the city but no student membership is available. I used to be a member, and can no longer afford it. The entry fee is exorbitant so I bought a year-long entry pass to make up for it... I also wonder about the curation. I liked the recent ceramics exhibit but that's because I love ceramics! I felt underwhelmed by the others. My previous visits ~4-5 years ago felt stronger than recent exhibits. Bring in more classical/traditional work, in addition to contemporary, to balance things out. I mean beyond Emily Carr (who is great but shown constantly).

While I live near and visit Vancouver a lot, I hadn’t been to the Vancouver Art Gallery in almost 20 years. The cost to visit is rather high, given the size of the gallery. As a BC resident it was $29. We spent just over an hour visiting the 4 floors. The up escalators were all out of order at the time of visit, though there was an elevator for accessibility. The exhibits were well presented and maintained, though the building was super warm and lacked air flow. The Emily Carr exhibit was definitely the highlight for me.

Visiting the art gallery for the first time was a truly wonderful experience. The exhibition featured a wide range of unique art pieces, including beautifully crafted pot sculptures in various styles and designs. I was especially fascinated by the ceramic sculptures, each one showcasing incredible detail and creativity. The gallery also displayed stunning paintings that captured different themes and cultures. Overall, it was an eye-opening experience that gave me a deeper appreciation for diverse forms of art and cultural expressions.

This is a nice gallery to visit if you have a couple of hours to spare while in town. It is a spacious place with exhibitions from different artists. The content changes during the year so it's good to keep an eye on the venue schedule. This venue is centrally located in downtown.

I must confess that I found myself somewhat underwhelmed. The impressive architectural structure did not seem to house anything particularly captivating or noteworthy. The contemporary and conceptual art installations, while present, did not fully engage my interest. Consequently, I would only recommend a visit if one has already experienced all other attractions Vancouver has to offer.
Gayane G — Google review
It’s definitely a smaller gallery and pretty quick to experience, but I loved seeing Otani Workshop’s first NA solo exhibit! It is a bit pricey considering they don’t have permanent installations but still worth supporting and the staff are so sweet here!
Cynthia — Google review
Really wish I had read reviews before visiting this place. Someone else described it as one of the least inspiring art museums and I would strongly agree. What made it so much worse was the fact they closed the main stairs, forcing us in loops to get to tiny back stairs. Then, where there were escalators, half didnt work - so time to backtrack around the building through the depressing exhibits of a single barrel of hay. I understand artists suffer for their art - but must I suffer as well?

Kitsilano Beach, also known as "Kits Beach," is a popular urban beach located in the trendy neighborhood of Kitsilano in Vancouver. It offers sandy shores, a playground, volleyball courts, and a large saltwater pool. The beach provides white-sand access to the ocean, along with amenities such as washroom and changeroom facilities, concessions, and lifeguards during the summer months.
Beautiful sandy beach perfect for spending an evening and watching the sunset. Can get crowded during peak hours, weekends, and holidays, but is still enjoyable. Occasionally there are vendors here.

Nice beach, crowded during weekends in summer. Can be noisy with people that don't respect the noise by-law. Great if you like the crowd and noise like in Mexico beaches. Beautiful sunsets.
K. A — Google review
Kitsilano Beach is one of Vancouver’s most popular waterfront destinations. On sunny weekends, it fills up with both locals and visitors eager to enjoy everything it has to offer. It’s not just a place for a relaxing walk—many people come here to swim, surf, play beach volleyball, ride bikes, play tennis or basketball, jog, or simply enjoy the outdoors. There are several parking areas along the beach, and if you’d like to cycle, you can rent a bike from one of the nearby rental stations. Picnic tables are available in various spots, so you’re welcome to bring your own food and enjoy a meal by the sea. There are also playgrounds for children and outdoor showers for rinsing off after a swim. Public restrooms are available for convenience. There are multiple ways to get to Kitsilano Beach, but let me share my own route—it’s quite simple. First, take the Canada Line to Olympic Village Station. Just outside the station, catch the #84 bus. Depending on traffic, the ride takes about 10–15 minutes. Get off at Yew Street. From there, walk straight down Yew Street—don’t turn anywhere—and it will lead you directly to Kitsilano Beach. A small tip: Even if it’s sunny, it can get windy at times, so bringing a light jacket might be a good idea.

Don’t be like us who didn’t see that you had to pay for parking. We didn’t see the sign and ran straight to the beach as soon as parked our car lol. It was worth it tho ($69 parking ticket). We loved it here, there is a basketball court and plenty of volleyball nets to play with. Sunset view is so nice, we sat on one of the logs scattered all over the beach. Would definitely come back and will pay for parking next time haha

Kitsilano Beach or as the locals call it "Kits Beach," is one of Vancouver’s most popular spots - and for good reason. The beach offers beautiful views of the mountains and downtown skyline, making it a great place to relax, watch the sunset, or go for a walk. The vibe is always lively, especially in the summer - lots of locals playing volleyball, jogging, picnicking, or just soaking up the sun. There’s a grassy area for lounging, a great walking path, bike path, and even an outdoor pool nearby. Restrooms are clean and have running water. One of the best spots in the city for people-watching, chilling, and enjoying nature with urban energy.
Aplih A — Google review
A popular waterfront beach near Vancouver. Great spot to chill, but try to avoid the busy season as it can be grossly busy. Dawn and dusk are the best times for the vibe. Midday...maybe, but real beach goers know it's dawn and dusk that are It. Pleasant sounds from the water, great breeze. Be mindful of any potential warnings of water quality.
Theos — Google review
A lovely stretch of golden sand that calm (but very cold water), lapping the shore, the beach area is very popular with locals, sun baking, and playing beach volley ball.
V H — Google review
Beautiful views, neat and clean, pleasant place to visit. Be considerate to enjoy and leave it clean. Lots of Canada Geese groups can be seen at close quarters, but be careful to maintain safe distance so as not to annoy them, they are capable of causing consideble annoyence in return. And in the last, quite picturesque place especially when sunny, so do remember to carry your heavier camera in place of clicking through phone only. You will be handsomely rewarded.

The Museum of Vancouver, located in Vanier Park between Kitsilano Beach and Granville Island, offers a fascinating exploration of the city's history and issues. With a strong collection of First Nations art and artifacts, this independent, non-profit organization aims to deepen understanding through stories and shared experiences. Catering to sub-teens and teens, the museum provides insight into early Vancouver history, from its First Nations past to the neon light phase of the 1950s.
I visited the Museum of Vancouver and really enjoyed it! The exhibits were interesting, well-designed, and full of local history and culture. That said, I was expecting something a bit larger - I thought I’d spend half a day there, but in reality, it took me about 2 hours to see everything. Right next to the museum, there’s also the Maritime Museum, which could be a nice addition to your visit. After that, you can take the ferry to Granville Island - a great place to explore the public market and local restaurants, browse shops with handmade goods. Overall, a lovely and educational stop, just be prepared for a shorter visit than you might expect.

Interesting local museum! Lived in the lower mainland my whole life but visited for the first time as it was included with a book talk I attended. Really enjoyed it and learned many valuable things. I had visited previously as the price seemed a little steep for the size of the museum. However, it’s well curated and has some growing and meaningful Indigenous exhibits, which was great to see.
Alyssa B — Google review
A great visit! The featured chair exhibit was my favourite, I had no idea so much history could be shared from chairs! The permanent exhibits walk you through the decades, and are extremely interesting and beautifully organized and we'll put together to make a great experience. Highly recommend the visit!

My Dad and I enjoyed our visit to the Museum of Vancouver. We learned so much about the history of the indigenous people of the area and the history of the city of Vancouver and the people that built and make up this vibrant city. The museum itself is laid out in a logical manner between the galleries and is accessible. The galleries are well researched and organized. The art and photographs displayed definitely are great points of references to learn more and understand better the city of Vancouver. This is an excellent museum for an visitor to Vancouver to explore!

A museum dedicated to the history and lifestyle of Vancouver city, it houses the items from yesteryears in chronically arranged way to give a peek of way of living in city through the periods. Entertaining and informative, recomoneded for choldrens and adults alike. There are vending machines downstairs but during my visit, none of them worked, taking payment but not dispensing and returning the amount. The desk was also not helpful in resolution, telling that if the item is not dispensed, the amount will surely refunded. There are no eateries around, nearest being 10~15 mins walk, so prepare accordingly. Also nearest public transport stops are 12 mins away. Parking is easy though. Washrooms are conveniently located and usable.
Basant S — Google review
Came here as a tourist taking the bus. Arrived around 6pm today but found the walking path very dark that I wasn’t sure if there really was a museum in there. I still went through the path which is about an 11 min walk. As I reached the lobby, the vibe didn’t seem to be welcoming, lights dim, place looked old. Wasn’t sure if it’s worth the price, maybe if it was free I’d go. Anyway I decided not to, just walked back to the bus stop and called it a day.
Kymmy P — Google review
Good local history museum, with special exhibits on rotation (we were there for a "chairs" exhibit). Perhaps a touch pricey for the duration of the stay (this tipped me from 5 stars to 4), but we enjoyed it all the same.
Brian B — Google review
This is an older building with a retro futuristic design like stepping into an architect’s vision of the future from decades ago. It’s very well maintained, and the planetarium dome experience is truly fantastic. The seats show a bit of wear, but nothing that affects the enjoyment. It’s a little pricey, yet absolutely worth visiting. Many people confuse the Dome with the Museum of Vancouver, but they’re not the same. They share the same building in Vanier Park, but the Museum of Vancouver occupies most of it, while the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre runs the planetarium inside the dome.

Night market
The Richmond Night Market is a must-visit for an incredible food experience. Established in 2000, it has become one of the largest North American night market festivals. The market offers a wide variety of innovative, Asian-inspired fusion foods that are perfect for capturing jaw-dropping Instagram shots.
Honestly, I always enjoy RNM. Been going for years and it's really what you make of it. Entrance is $5, parking is massive and FREE, the food can be a bit pricey - but the variety is there and it's food I wouldn't have normally nor regularly. You go to try new things and just have fun with the food pallet. Go with a sociable/curious group of friends or partner, go have a good time, try some interesting food, buy some cute trinkets and take some cute photos. Buen Provecho! :) *Bring cash - they have multiple ATMS... but save yourself the fee*
Francesca H — Google review
Would I call it an overpriced tourist attraction? Yes. But if you can look past the cost, it’s a fun experience. There are plenty of food stalls, and while not everything is worth trying, you can always check reviews to see what stands out. It’s more enjoyable to go with a group so you can try more items. Personally, my favorites were the Lamb Noodles from Chef James Co, the Pork Dumplings from Momo's, and the Mango Paradise from Taco Nori Sushi Tacos. The Coconut in a Cup from One Coconut was just okay. As for the Deep-Fried Squid from Squid Feast and the Spot Prawns from Ocean Sweets, BBQ Squid Mix from Lao Er BBQ Squid, they tasted mid. Beyond food, they also have shops and games. I don’t think it’s worth spending money outside of food, but it’s worth a look.

This was my first time at the Richmond Night Market, and it was such a fun experience! I already expected the food to be pricey, so definitely bring plenty of cash. There’s a huge variety of food—mostly Asian cuisine, but we also found a great Mexican food stand. Tons of carnival-style games to try too! Admission is $7 CAD per person, or you can get a fast pass for $35 that covers 5 people. If you don’t have a group for the fast pass, I’d recommend going early to avoid the long lines. They even have a zip line, although it wasn’t open during our visit. Overall, a lively place to eat, play, and explore!
Thu L — Google review
food was really good, much better than expected! stinky tofu was authentic, tasted almost similar to the ones in changsha. fried squid was amazing, so tender and crispy, the people really gave a lot for the size small portion. mango sticky rice was also my favourite! however, the price is just way too high, these would normally be sold at a third/half the price. on top of that, admission fee is pricey, which makes you want to spend more in the night market to get your money’s worth… fun experience but probably wouldn’t go back because of the prices!!
Grace — Google review
Weapons and family time? No thank you. You have to pay to get in, and once you’re in you’re faced with overpriced street food, overpriced carnival games, cash-only sales AND high caliber weapons sold in the open, right in the middle of the park. There is something really strange about a market (night or day) that promotes friendly family time with children games and arcades and at the same time allows the sale of assault rifles and semi-automatic guns under a tent right in the middle of everything. We were left wondering what audience is this park really trying to attract? They have a zip line (overpriced as everything else on the park) which at least makes it “fun” for kids to watch and young adults to enjoy, and then they have bouncy houses literally aimed at kids, and they also have carnival games (also overpriced) which you may argue are for all ages, so that’s fine, but who are the high caliber weapon sales for? Are those also cash-only? I wouldn’t know because it made us so uncomfortable, we left in less than an hour. Sketchy place. Management really needs to decide what image they want to have and what audience they’re trying to reach. You can’t attract families and friends enjoying some wholesome time together or young couples on a date, and at the same time attract those who are in the market for a high-caliber weapon sold at night potentially on the down-low in a makeshift market by an industrial zone. That’s just weird.
Percy — Google review
I went to the Richmond Night Market for the first time (I am from US) and it was a great experience!! It is way better than night markets in the states. The only long line was to get inside. Once we were in, we waited no longer than 5 minutes in a line and the food came out really quick! It’s so much cheaper than US food festivals as well so we were able to try a bunch of different things for a good price. I would 100% come again. It was well worth the drive.
Christina L — Google review
I’m sad it took me 3 trips to Vancouver to finally go to the Richmond Night Market. It was quite a long line to get in at 1900, but it only helped my appetite. We got a free lobster hat upon entrance which delighted my niece. We ate at several different stalls. My favorite was the toasted mochi and the mango sticky rice!
Nichelle S — Google review
A long time has passed since I last visited the Richmond Night Market. I was impressed by the significant improvements since my last visit a few years ago. The quality of the products has improved, and there are now more games and bigger food stands. There are even activities for kids, such as a bounce castle and a zipline. Among all the food, the Korean BBQ chicken skewers stood out. They came in four flavors, and I tried two of them: a sweet and savory sauce and a galbi flavor. It was a shame they were sold out the second time I visited, and I couldn't get more. I also remember the Dubai chocolate-covered strawberry cups from the dessert section. I wish this was a menu item at a cafe near me! The market runs every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m., from May through October. The lines get incredibly long, so you must buy a Zoom Pass! The regular admission is $4.75, while the Zoom Pass costs $28.00 for six entries. Since it's unlikely you'll go six times alone, you can offer to share the pass with friends, family, or even other couples or families in line. They'll likely be happy to join you and get through the express lane without the long wait.

Place du Canada is an impressively large and beautifully designed public space right in the heart of Vancouver. The area is open, welcoming, and very well laid out, making it easy to walk around and explore. It’s a truly pleasant attraction, whether you’re visiting for the first time or stopping by again. There’s always something happening here—events, activities, or just the natural buzz of people enjoying the space. It feels vibrant and full of life, yet still comfortable enough to relax and take in the surroundings. The mix of scenery, atmosphere, and things to do makes it a great place to spend some time. Overall, Place du Canada is definitely worth a visit if you’re in Vancouver.

Canada Place is iconic and you’ll see the seaplanes, cruise ships and famed whale statue and Olympic Cauldron. Perfect place to walk along the harbor, shop and enjoy the many restaurants. It’s usually busy given that it is by the convention center and many cruise ships dock in the area. From this vantage point, visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of Vancouver's skyline, North Shore Mountains, Pacific Ocean, and English Bay. Additionally, guests can visit the Armstrong Gallery featuring local artists' work.
Super interactive, exciting and fun experience! A must see in Vancouver. Beautiful sights of the city all around and lots of interesting, informative posts present showcasing the different attractions, monuments, green spaces and history of the city with some even outside of the city too! Also, when you go up the elevator to the main area you get to see the city through the windows which amplifies the experience.

Such a great attraction this is! Family friendly, informative and absolutely stunning views. We loved the information cards placed right by the view. Children enjoyed this experience more than the adults. The staff were very well trained, they kept the facility spotless and well organized.

First time visit here as visited Vancouver couple times. Great view for 360 degree view of all the directions of the city, in a sunny day. Drawback is they will close before sunset, so you cannot come for a night view. But probably they are worried about the safety in downtown for that.

That was sooo exciting when you go up in the very quick glass elevator about 130 meters high, or actually 168 meters above sea level! You can see all of Vancouver’s attractions from above. Inside, there are pictures of different Vancouver spots with their history, and there’s even a QR code you can scan to listen to the guide. Highly recommend it!

We didn’t get time to go to grouse mountain so decided to do the lookout. Cost is approx $44 for two. It was ok. Not much atmosphere at the top but there are markers for each site/building etc. it was cool being in the elevator outside. I wouldn’t say it’s a must do.

The Vancouver Lookout definitely lives up to its name—you get a mostly great panoramic view of the entire city. It’s a beautiful way to get your bearings and take in the skyline, mountains, and water all at once. That said, the ticket prices are pretty steep for what is essentially a quick experience. I give them bonus points for the thoughtful touch of having stepstools for little kids so they can actually enjoy the view too. I’ve done it once and it was lovely—but at that price point, I don’t feel the need to do it again. Worth checking off your list, but maybe not a repeat visit.

If you’re a first-time visitor to Vancouver or keen on getting a quick, immersive city overview—especially with different lighting by day and night—the Vancouver Lookout is worth a stop. Spanish Banks Beach is a bustling sandy beach that offers tidal flats for skimboarders and kitesurfers, as well as volleyball courts. It's quieter than other nearby beaches due to its residential location, making it an optimal place for picnics with unreal views over the water and city skyline. The Seawall stretches along the long beach, providing an ideal setting for a quiet stroll with seagulls and sailboats in the backdrop.
Large beach spot, doesn’t usually get too busy. Can always find a spot to seat even on a hot weekend in the summer. This beach does get significantly more windy than kits, so if it’s not very hot could be a bit chilly. The bigger challenge with this beach is finding parking at peak hours in the weekend, would recommend to get here before 11AM to find a spot. This beach is not as transit accessible at Kits, it’s a much longer walk from the nearest bus stop. There are good washrooms and multiple concession stands on this stretch of beach. This is a popular spot for volleyball and families. You have a very 180 degree view on this beach, can see downtown Vancouver and all the mountains across the water. Highly would recommend if you have a car. Parking near the beach is max 2 hours and pricing is pretty reasonable.

One of the neater beaches I've been to. There's sand and rocky sections, eastwards and westwards, respectfully. Perfect spot to relax and hear the ebbs of the tide at dawn and dusk. Spanish Banks stretches quite far, directly with Point Grey Beach. Great walking space as well. If you opt to sit on the large rocks, move slowly. They can be loose enough that the weight of a person can make them shift or completely roll. Mind your steps.

Wonderland of trees and wildlife!! The seawall is spectacular and a perfect place for a daily dog walk, run or bike ride. Even rollerblading is permitted! A few restaurants are located within the park’s boundaries and one gift shop. I love this place so much and highly recommend visiting. You could spend days just exploring the trails and sights.

An incredibly beautiful park at the tip of downtown Vancouver, perfect for a run or a walk after work. The seawall (the path around the park by the water) allows for many different sceneries from the Vancouver skyline to the harbour or the ocean. A must visit during your stay in Vancouver, BC, that's for sure! And don't miss Prospect Point Lookout for one of the best views of the Lions Gate Bridge and West Vancouver 😊

Stanley Park feels like a true jungle in the heart of the city—an amazing escape from the hustle and bustle. If you’re seeking peace and quiet, and you love birds and small animals, this is the perfect place to explore. You can spend hours discovering its wonders, from lush forest trails to serene lakes and breathtaking ocean views. With playgrounds, restaurants, a pool, and the sea, there’s something for everyone. Every time I walk through the park, I find something new to enjoy and marvel at—it’s truly a magical experience.

Stanley Park’s Inner Loop Hike is an essential experience for anyone visiting or living in Vancouver. As you step onto the well-maintained trails, you’re immediately enveloped by lush greenery, towering old-growth trees, and a sense of tranquility that feels worlds away from the nearby urban bustle. The park’s diverse ecosystem features a mix of conifers, ferns, and vibrant forest undergrowth, creating a calming, natural ambiance. This hike offers a perfect retreat for solo adventurers seeking a peaceful connection with nature. Along the way, you’ll encounter scenic viewpoints, quiet spots by Beaver Lake, and even glimpses of wildlife. Whether you’re looking to reflect, recharge, or simply breathe in the fresh air, the Inner Loop provides an ideal setting for a rejuvenating escape.

My favourite spot in Vancouver! Absolutely gorgeous park, with so many species of trees, birds, insects and fish; trails and stuff to do inside; and such a clean, organized, and well-maintained park too! Can easily spend a whole day here just walking around, or renting a bike and going for a scenic ride along the seawall. A must for every person that visits here.

It’s a huge park and a fantastic place for families with activities to enjoy. Make sure to grab a map from the info centre when you arrive. It helps to navigate the area. You can walk or rent a bike. We ended up spending around 3 hours there. One of the highlights was the carriage horse ride that took us around the park for about an hour. It was a wonderful way to see the sights and scenery.

The Vancouver Seawall is a picturesque 14 to 17.5-mile waterfront path that winds through the heart of the city, including Stanley Park and various neighborhoods, parks, and beaches like Kitsilano Beach Park and Coal Harbor. It's perfect for couples looking for a scenic stroll or bike ride with plenty of opportunities to relax at nearby restaurants. This stone wall not only prevents erosion but also provides an uninterrupted pathway for walking, jogging, cycling, and skating along Vancouver's stunning natural landscape.
It doesn't matter if you are a tourist or a local for many years, going to the seawall for a walk, run or ride is always a nice experience. One of the best views of downtown, surrounded by nature and with good structure (available washrooms, some benches to relax and enjoy the view, parking lots, etc). I reccomend that you do the entirety of the seawall by bike at least once so that you can enjoy the different views and places, like downtown, north van, the mountains and the beaches.

Trail Series, Part 40 Running was never meant to be easy, so many runners choose a phrase to help motivate them. Some of my favorites include: “No matter how slow you go, you are still lapping everybody on the couch”; “I don’t run to add days to my life, I run to add life to my days”; “The miracle isn’t that I finished. The miracle is that I had the courage to start”; “My sport is your sport’s punishment”; “This isn’t sweat, it’s liquid awesome”; and “Do it for the post-run snack”. It was during a recent run along the Stanley Park Seawall Path in Vancouver, Canada, that I discovered a different motivational technique. Rather than repeating a single phrase to keep you going, how about excitedly striding from one motivational expression to another? You see as this trail winds itself around magnificent Stanley Park, it is replete with benches adorned with a seemingly endless number of deeply personal plaques that broadcast both remembrances and some pretty keen life advice. I stopped more than 150 times during my run and I’d estimate that I photographed only 50% of the benches that are available to enjoy. 🤯 My favorite plaques include: “What a beautiful difference one single life made”; “To the world you were just one, to me you were the world” 🥹; “She lived for those she loved, and those she loved remember”; “How small a part of time we share”; “People and places have touched me so, left a mark on my mind, heart & soul. Thank you Lord, it’s been a great ride”; “Loving Masterchef who taught how to savor the flavors of life”; and “Just a Godly man who so loved his four wonderful daughters”. This outstanding trail is approximately 6 miles long, flat, and entirely paved. It features numerous dramatic curves that create excitement to discover what might be revealed just around each corner. Those with mobility issues will find it extremely accommodating and a separate lane for cyclists creates a safe path for all outdoor enthusiasts. It is well traveled during the day, and although the buddy system is always recommended, it isn’t necessary in this instance. And that’s…Henry’s Take. #trailseries #stanleyparkseawallpath

This is the spot highly recommended to get the best downtown Vancouver skyline views from. The spot is easily accessible by foot, on bicycle, or by driving on a vehicle. The views both at sunrise, during the day, and at sunset are really worth the visit. There are quite a few other landmarks and attractions on this side of the Stanley Park as compared to the other side. A paid parking lot is close by, while on foot this point is barely a 15 minute walk from the closest bus stop. A must visit spot whenever in downtown Vancouver.

One of the best walks you can do in Vancouver! The Seawall offers stunning views of the ocean, mountains, and city skyline all in one. Great for walking, biking, or just taking it all in at your own pace. Peaceful, scenic, and perfect for all ages. Easy 5 stars!

The seawall is always a joy to explore—whether on foot, bike, or a casual jog. It features some of the most scenic views of downtown, framed by lush greenery and waterfront. The path is well-equipped with restrooms, benches, and parking, making it an easy and comfortable outing. I suggest biking the full loop at least once to take in the diverse views—cityscape, North Shore mountains, ocean, and beaches all in one ride.

This was such a beautiful place. So many tropical plants and a great variety of different flowers. The birds were fun to watch also. They liked when I spoke to them using their names. We loved seeing everything, although it's was a bit crowded at times and smaller than we expected. But I would come here again.

Wonderful experince, the gardens are laid out eith winding paths that are just fun to walk down and back up, seeing all types of plants that you would have trouble in finding other places- then the birds!! I love the birds they are so pretty. I wish we could have even more space to appreciate the species that live in that environment

Great start to our day on a misty Saturday morning. The birds and mice really made it more than just a garden/ conservatory for me. Going at opening allowed us to enjoy two trips around the garden before it got too crowded. My spouse enjoyed the scavenger hunt as it gave you a handful of things to look out for. One of the volunteers was so friendly and brightened our experience.

H.R. MacMillan Space Centre is a museum in Vancouver that offers space-related games, hands-on exhibits, and a planetarium. The center features interactive exhibits designed especially for kids, allowing them to engage with various activities such as pushing buttons to understand sound in a vacuum and using computer simulations to dock a shuttle at a space station.
H.R. MacMillan Space Centre is a must-visit in Vancouver for anyone curious about the universe. It’s more than a museum—it’s an immersive journey through space with stunning planetarium shows, interactive exhibits, and real telescope nights. You’ll learn about black holes, the Big Bang, life in space, and Canada’s role in space exploration, all in a way that’s engaging for both kids and adults. A truly unique place that makes science feel magical.
Alvaro S — Google review
3.5 overall - it's a good museum but very very small also. It's good as an introduction and for something quick to do. While reading all the plaques and viewing everything , it took maybe an hour to see it all. The planetarium was quite fun to watch. It's still a place you should visit, just don't expect a regular museum level experience.
CY S — Google review
Visiting the space centre on May the fourth was certainly a good choice! As a kid, this was one of my favourite field trip destinations and it definitely helped foster my love of all things space. If you come here with children, make sure to check out the shows! The downside: It is quite small and the exhibits are rather dated :(
Edith W — Google review
It’s a fun spot for kids, especially the planetarium shows and hands on activities. But honestly, I expected more. A lot of the tech feels outdated things like the projectors and displays really need an upgrade. The place has so much potential, but it could use a refresh to make it more exciting for all ages.
Indika W — Google review
My friend and I attended the Pink Floyd 50th anniversary of dark side of the moon and it was an epic experience!!! 10/10. Go!! The sound system is incredible. Walking around afterwards it was sad to see how dated the building has become. So much could be done with this space to keep it modern and exciting. For example, the space centre would make a killing featuring albums of different artists in the dome, the sound system is sick. Also maybe open a bar? Beverages were advertised but we only found vending machines. There is alot of opportunity here, guess you just need to find a funder/fundraiser and someone with innovative ideas.
Kay G — Google review
This a good place to attend with children who are interested in science. Their dome theatre has now updated projectors with better quality and brightness than previous ones. The selection of movies is pretty good. They also have some good interactive shows. Giving 4 stars just because there is not much to do there except watching the shows, unfortunately. Check what shows are in the schedule to plan the visit accordingly. It makes complete sense to buy a membership if you are local as it includes unlimited visits during the year including unlimited movie tickets.
Sergiy B — Google review
I went to see Encounters in the Milky Way at The Dome, and it was amazing! I felt like a kid again on an elementary school field trip, but don't get me wrong- I think adults would enjoy this more. I only wish the show was longer (only 30 mins) as there were so many interesting points. The nice thing is that there isn't a bad seat in the place since everyone is reclined back and looking up- very relaxing. =D My only criticism is that a more organized line up outside the dome would be nice since it gets very crowded with everyone waiting to be seated beforehand. I'm already discussing going back to the next show with my friends.
Adrienne Y — Google review
I went to the Cosmic show last night was really interesting however I didn't know the actual show was at 9pm. I thought it started at 7pm. It would be nice if they had two shows under the Dome one at 7pm and one at 9pm and you can pick the time. I found 9pm is kind of late and I had to pay extra for parking.

Beautiful venue to see Coldplay by candlelight. Was magic. Reminded me of being in Europe with the wooden ceilings. Stain glass and iron interior buttresses. I would love to see the church host more events for music of many uplifting styles across cultures so it could be a place to unite everyone.

Gastown Steam Clock, located in Vancouver's oldest commercial district, is a well-known antique-style clock powered by steam and whistles to tell the time. Built in 1977 by Canadian clockmaker Raymond Saunders, it was intended to attract foot traffic to nearby shops and restaurants. Despite its name, the clock also has an electric motor and isn't entirely steam-powered.
This city is truly magical, filled with stunning architecture and vibrant culture. Its streets are alive with energy, showcasing a blend of history and modernity that captivates every visitor. From the charming cafes lining the bustling boulevards to the lush parks providing a serene escape, every corner holds a marvel waiting to be discovered. The sunsets cast a mesmerizing glow over the skyline, enhancing the city's already enchanting atmosphere. Overall, Vancouver is a place that leaves a lasting impression, offering an experience that is nothing short of remarkable.

Gastown is definitely one of the must-visit spots in Vancouver. It’s the city’s historic heart, with cobblestone streets, old brick buildings, and vintage street lamps that give it a unique charm. The Steam Clock is the highlight, fun to watch and a perfect photo spot. I really enjoyed just walking around, checking out the local shops, art galleries, and trying out cafes and pubs along the way. In the evening the whole place lights up beautifully, making it even more atmospheric. Great for a casual stroll, good food, and a bit of Vancouver history all in one.

Cool but of history. I think the best times are on the hour when you can hear the whole chime with the number of hours to match the time of day. The quarter chimes are cool as well but the whole chime is spectacular. There are bars you can sit at near by to get a view as well. Won't go out of my way but if you're in the area, worth a stop!
Rahul B — Google review
The Gastown Steam Clock is a unique and charming attraction, even though it is currently under maintenance and not whistling completely. The clock still runs and plays its melody every 15 minutes, though it is running about 3 minutes early. Despite these minor issues, the clock remains a fascinating blend of old-world charm and modern engineering, drawing visitors with its steam-powered whistles and historical significance in Vancouver’s Gastown district. It’s definitely worth seeing for its uniqueness and the atmosphere it creates in the area. Keep in mind to check maintenance status before visiting to catch its full performance.
Vijay T — Google review
A tourist attraction that is centered around a unique steam powered clock in the Gas Town district of Vancouver. The clock runs entirely on steam, and although as of October 2025 the clock is under maintenance, it still plays sound every 15 minutes. Thats the real attraction around this clock and you can time your visit. There is usually a long queue of tourists trying to capture their photo in front of the clock. The neighborhood and the road itself are really nice to be around. This has to be part of your Vancouver visit itinerary.
Avais S — Google review
I expected the Steam Clock to be bigger, but it’s still a fun and charming landmark to see in person. It’s a really popular spot, and there’s always a crowd gathered around waiting for the steam whistle. The best part is that it’s completely free to visit. If you’re in the area, I definitely suggest stopping by to take a picture. However, I don’t recommend going at night — the area doesn’t feel very safe after dark, so it’s better to visit during the day.

Rare Free attraction in city of Vancouver gas town. Time is not correct. So check your time for sound of the clock every 15 minutes. Longer sound hourly. No wait times. Even good for rainy day.

Great quirky attraction. Would have had 5 stars had the time on the clock been accurate. It was 10 minutes out, but once we figured thay out we were able to watch it complete the full chime sequence on the hour. Lions Gate Bridge, a landmark suspension bridge in Vancouver, offers stunning city views and features a pedestrian walkway. Spanning 1,517.3 meters from Downtown to North Vancouver, the bridge stands at a height of 61 meters and provides an unobstructed vantage point for admiring sunset colors over the ocean. Accessible from Stanley Park or its North-end, visitors can explore walkways and platforms on the West-side for optimal viewing opportunities.
The suspension bridge is absolutely majestic and gives a solid, secure feeling when you walk across it. On both sides of the bridge, there are dedicated cycling paths, making it easy and enjoyable for cyclists. You can start from Prospect Point Lookout and ride your bike downhill directly to the entrance of the bridge’s bike lane, where you’ll be treated to stunning scenic views along the way.
Foodie V — Google review
Pretty decent bridge for riding across, except there are some narrow parts where you should ride single file. We witnessed someone trying to pass another rider and instead crashed into an immovable object… the bridge.
Frank B — Google review
Lions Gate Bridge is an iconic symbol of Vancouver and a living monument to the Great Depression era. It opened to motor traffic on November 14, 1938 (pedestrians were allowed two days earlier). The project was financed by the Guinness family through British Pacific Properties to open up North Shore lands for development—fueling the rapid growth of West Vancouver. In 1939 King George VI’s motorcade crossed the bridge; in 1955 the province bought it, and in 1963 the toll was removed. In 2004 it was designated a National Historic Site of Canada. The south entrance is flanked by Art Deco lion statues by sculptor Charles Marega—a nod to the mountain peaks The Lions, which gave the bridge its name. The main span is about 472 m (1,548 ft), the towers ~118 m (387 ft); at its opening it was the longest suspension bridge in the British Empire. Decorative lighting for Expo ’86 was again funded by the Guinness family—another touch from the city’s benefactors Aleks recommends👍❗️

Review of Lions Gate Bridge – Vancouver’s Iconic Gateway Crossing the Lions Gate Bridge is one of the most visually stunning experiences in Vancouver. Whether heading north toward the lush slopes of Grouse Mountain and the hills of West Vancouver or south into downtown, flanked by the towering trees of Stanley Park, the scenery is nothing short of breathtaking. On clear days, the green waters of Burrard Inlet shimmer on either side, making the journey feel like a postcard come to life. The bridge is more than just a crossing—it’s a moment of transition between the urban and the wild, the city and the sea. It can be enjoyed not only by vehicle but also on foot or by bike. Walking across gives you a chance to fully take in the surrounding views—just be aware that the pedestrian path is quite narrow. If a cyclist is passing, it can get tight, so caution is needed. That said, the beauty comes with a price. Traffic during rush hours can be intense, and any accident can bring things to a near standstill. In such moments, the iconic charm of the bridge can feel more like a bottleneck. Still, despite its traffic woes, Lions Gate Bridge remains one of the most scenic and symbolic landmarks in the region—a must-experience whether you are a local or a visitor.
Reza S — Google review
I took these pictures and video while I was cycling on the bridge. One point about this bridge for cyclists and walkers is that the lane from north side of the bridge to the south has more uphill than the other side. Only when walking on the bridge you can see the magnificence of engineering.

Very beautiful bridge ! The Lions Gate Bridge, opened in 1938 and officially known as the First Narrows Bridge, is a suspension bridge that crosses the first narrows of Burrard Inlet and connects the City of Vancouver, British Columbia, to the North Shore municipalities of the District of North Vancouver, the City of North Vancouver, and West Vancouver. The term "Lions Gate" refers to the Lions, a pair of mountain peaks north of Vancouver. Northbound traffic on the bridge heads in their general direction. A pair of cast concrete lions, designed by sculptor Charles Marega, were placed on either side of the south approach to the bridge in January 1939.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of downtown Vancouver, the Bill Reid Gallery of Northwest Coast Art is a must-visit for art enthusiasts and cultural explorers alike. Opened in 2008, this gallery pays homage to the legendary Bill Reid, a master Haida artist whose remarkable sculptures and carvings have left an indelible mark on Canadian art.
This was an incredible museum! I had a great time learning about Bill Reid’s work. It was so inspiring! They had two levels with displays of art work. The day I went there, there was some work going on at the lower level and half of it was closed. So the tickets were lower-price tickets that day. I spent around 3 hours in total at this place to check out everything they had. I learnt a lot about different Haida stories through the artwork. On the second level, they show a half an hour movie of how a red cedar tree is transformed into a beautiful totem pole. They also have a space to read and sit and relax.

The Bill Reid Gallery is a cultural treasure in the heart of downtown Vancouver. The space is beautifully curated, showcasing the incredible artistry and legacy of Bill Reid along with works from other contemporary Indigenous artists. Each piece tells a story, and the gallery does an excellent job of providing context that deepens appreciation for the art and the traditions it represents. The atmosphere is calm and reflective, making it easy to slow down and really take in the details. The exhibits are thoughtfully arranged, blending timeless pieces with modern interpretations, and the quality of the curation truly stands out. Staff are welcoming, knowledgeable, and happy to answer questions, which adds to the overall experience.

This place is incredible. The art just blows your mind with the beauty and quality. The admission price is cheap but the exhibits are priceless. Such a small price to pay to see such beautiful artwork. Bill Reid Gallery has to be in the top three things to do in Vancouver.

Stunning art gallery with a very cute gift shop. The art work is stunning and very educational for all ages.
Alice Z — Google review
Small but powerful. The space is intimate, which lets you really focus on the details of Reid’s work and the broader Indigenous art showcased. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and the rotating exhibits often highlight emerging artists. Downsides? It’s compact—don’t expect to spend more than an hour—and the gift shop feels pricey. Still, it’s a meaningful stop if you’re into Haida art or want a quieter cultural experience downtown.

A-maze-ing Laughter is a captivating outdoor art installation in Vancouver's English Bay, featuring 14 bronze sculptures of the artist Yue Minjun in fits of laughter. This whimsical display invites visitors to interact with the statues and capture fun-filled moments. Originally part of the Vancouver International Sculpture Biennale, this permanent exhibit offers a great photo opportunity and a chance for visitors to share joyful experiences.
The sun beautifully fell on these sculptures, giving them a beautiful bronze tint. There were a lot of people near them. The children especially liked it. There was a small festival nearby, music was played and you could buy jewelry and clothes made with your own hands. There were also food stalls and many cafes nearby.

Visiting the Laughter Statues at Sunset Beach was such a joyful experience. The energy of the place instantly lifted my mood those playful bronze figures, frozen in endless laughter, reminded me how powerful a smile can be. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with people from different backgrounds stopping to take pictures, laugh, and share in the fun. The location itself is beautiful right by the beach with the ocean breeze and mountains in the background. Everything was well maintained, and the positive vibes of the statues made me feel lighthearted and grateful. It truly showed me how art in public spaces can bring happiness to everyone.

Very cute to see. I was very happy we took the time to check this out. There are several statues and each one are different. You could feel the happiness it brought to people visiting here. Some people were imitating the statues for photos.

Super fun to visot the laughing men - even if it's to watch other people mimicking them! And English Bay Bay is just so beautiful, especially at Sunset!

The Laughing Statues at Morton Park are a riot! These giant bronze dudes, all chuckling like mad, spark instant grins. Perfect for goofy selfies, though some faces feel a tad eerie. Free to visit, but parking’s a hassle. Quirky art that’s contagious—bring your camera and join the giggle party

The Vancouver Maritime Museum is a family-friendly destination that showcases the rich seafaring history of the Pacific Northwest and Arctic regions. Visitors can explore the RCMP Arctic St. Roch, which holds the distinction of being the first ship to navigate both ways through the perilous Northwest Passage and circumnavigate North America. The museum offers interactive displays where kids can engage in activities like driving a tug, operating an underwater robot, and dressing up as seafarers.
This is a great museum to explore and learn about Vancouver and general maritime history. There's an indoor playground, and some other interactive parts that make this a great museum to visit with children. It was fun to enter and explore a historical boat, and there was a lot of information to read and learn about the history. The interactive and guided knot making station was very interesting! Overall highly recommended visit for people of all ages.
Emily S — Google review
My first time here. Free admission today because of Family Day and glad we came. It is way more interesting and expansive a museum than it looks. I found it all to be very interesting. The wait to get onto the RCMP ship took a while even though we arrived only half-an-hour past opening, but it was worth it. The other display rooms past the gift shop are also worth checking out.
Sandra C — Google review
The Maritime museum is a good place to visit, it doesn’t take long it’s small. You can tour the St Roch, an RCMP schooner. There are lots of interesting displays and a kids play area. There is accessible parking with a ramp behind the building that leads to an accessible automatic door. There are toilets available.
Vanessa B — Google review
Wonderful way to spend a rainy day. Brought a 3 year old here and he had a blast. Great children’s area with amazing costumes, the large RCMP boat was a hit and steering a boat so much fun. Had to pull him away but the pirate eye patch helped get him out the door!
Barbara H — Google review
This would be my favourite museum out of the 3 in the that location. There was a lot more to see than I expected. Going onboard the St. Roch boat was really cool. If you like scale model boats you’ll be in heaven. They are incredible. Lots of things to interact with. Plenty of history to read. Absolutely loved it.
Craig H — Google review
A museum dedicated to seafaring equipment and life of soldiers or seamen. It includes a whole police (RCMP) patrolling boat named St. Roch deployed in active sea for 20 years, built in 1928 at Vancouver and having many firsts like circumnavigation around north america through panama canal and navigating the northwest passage in a single season in both directions along with being first to travel the northern deep water route. It has been declared national historical site. Apart from this, the museum houses numerous items of navigation and marine travel to give a glimpse of yesteryears as well modern times. Worth visiting, there is small setup to sell icecream and beverage inside. The ticket prices however are not justified, on Sundays you can enter on donation basis which could be cheaper.
Basant S — Google review
Fantastic place for people (especially children) who love all things to do with seafaring exploration! There are lots of interactive spaces, which certainly help kids engage and learn :) The highlight of the museum is definitely the massive RCMPolice St Roch!

Nestled in the heart of Stanley Park, Third Beach is a popular sandy spot known for its stunning sunset views and ideal picnic setting. Health Canada has deemed it the cleanest beach for swimming, making it a top choice among English Bay options. The beach's secluded location offers a peaceful retreat from the city noise and makes it less crowded than other nearby beaches. Visitors can also enjoy drum circles and musical gatherings on summer nights, adding to the vibrant atmosphere.
Third beach is a larger beach than second beach. It’s always in the sun and it has a nice third beach concession stand up a few flights of stairs. There are connecting bike routes so you can go through Stanley Park or go on the seawall if you prefer but remember that it is only single way bike access.

Third Beach is a pleasant spot, especially in the late afternoon during July. The vibe is relaxed and welcoming, with a mix of locals and visitors enjoying the sun, music, and occasional drum circles. While it's not the most stunning beach in terms of scenery or facilities, it has a laid-back charm that makes it worth a visit. Great for catching sunsets, but not necessarily a must-see if you're short on time.
Dimitar M — Google review
Beautiful park and beautiful beach. We will be back next year. Everyone was kind and the water was so relaxing.
Adriana D — Google review
This is my favourite beach in Vancouver. A little bit harder to access and the parking is expensive, but it is worth it. The sand is great, the water is, too, the vibe is excellent and the crowd overall is lovely and very diverse (great for families, singles, and groups as well). To me this particular place gives a very cool vacation vibe. There are also spontaneous events at times and beach parties plus the weekly drum circle during the summer.
George F — Google review
Very beautiful beach with logs to seat on it, plenty of parking spaces for bikes. Clean and refreshing water. Life guard on duty.

Third Beach is a beautiful beach in Stanley Park. I particularly enjoy walking through the park to get there, but you can also follow the seawall. It's a lovely walk. There is also a parking lot, public restrooms, and a beach bar. The beach itself is very beautiful and natural, with breathtaking views of West Vancouver and the ships anchored offshore. The beach can get a little crowded on weekends and during holidays. It's ideal for a romantic sunset.

Nestled near Seymour Mountain on the North Shore, Maplewood Farm is a delightful family-oriented destination that invites visitors to connect with over 200 domestic animals and birds. This charming rural attraction features an array of friendly creatures, including sheep, donkeys, goats, rabbits, chickens, and ponies. Families can enjoy interactive experiences like pony rides and feeding sessions for ducks and bunnies. Kids will love participating in daily activities such as milking demonstrations or helping farmhands care for the animals.
We absolutely love this place. We have been traveling full time for 2 years and just recently got back to Vancouver. My son and daughter often spoke of Maplewood Farm even during our travels. Admission is super reasonable and the staff are friendly and obviously animals lovers. We came here during Easter so it was understandably packed. Goats are the sweetest animals while we always made sure to say hi to the turkeys. The children always enjoy the bags of seed feed. Spring and summers are obviously the best times to visit. Tons of parking. Also make sure to visit the cool little playground outside the premises. Love how it’s so easily accessible from the cities.

Review of Maplewood Farm – A Hidden Gem in North Vancouver Maplewood Farm is a delightful oasis tucked away in North Vancouver—a place that charms visitors of all ages. I had no idea goats could be so affectionate! They walk right up to you, seemingly eager for connection, with those mesmerizing horizontal pupils that make you feel truly seen. The farm is home to an endearing mix of animals—peacocks, goats, sheep, horses, ponies, roosters, cows, and more. It is a feast for the senses and a joy to experience up close. Whether you are visiting with kids or simply looking to reconnect with nature, the atmosphere is friendly, educational, and filled with gentle energy. There is ample free parking, and the admission is quite affordable, making it a great choice for a low-cost, high-enjoyment outing. It is especially magical for children—an enriching way to spend a few hours that is both fun and memorable. The staff are kind, the grounds are well-kept, and the whole place radiates warmth. Highly recommended for families, animal lovers, and anyone looking to slow down and enjoy something real.
Reza S — Google review
My family had a great time here! My son was shy around animals this close to him especially the goats and the ducks. We had to no idea that you can actually go inside the goat gate and pet them. The animals were all well behaved and obviously used to small children, goats were my favourite as they were gentle and curious around my son. Definitely come when it’s good weather out!
C O — Google review
After visiting this farm, only positive memories remained, because communication with animals is the best pastime! Rest for the whole family with small and adult children. For children there is a hall for celebrations and birthdays, a playground. In addition to children's entertainment, there is a small park for walks and many places for memorable photos. It is worth visiting this place not only with children.

Maplewood Farm is a lovely little petting zoo in North Van. Lots of farm animals to see, all clearly loved and well cared for. There’s a picnic area and even a birthday hosting room. The farm is small but fun—perfect for a morning or afternoon out with kids. Bonus: under 18 months is free!

I had such a wonderful experience at this farm! The atmosphere is peaceful, clean, and welcoming, and you can really see how much care goes into everything they do. The animals are well looked after and friendly. When we went flower making session was going on people were making flower crowns and bracelets, they had U pick flowers starting from $10, $25, $30 mason jars you can pick as many as fits in the jar.

The racecourse has been around since 1889 and provides stunning views of the mountains and waterfront. In addition to horse racing, visitors can enjoy various dining options and over 500 slot machines at the casino. The venue offers an entertaining atmosphere for both gamblers and non-gamblers alike.
The environment is clean and comfortable, making it a pleasant place to spend time. The horse racing information is detailed and easy to understand, which really enhances the experience. Parking is convenient and easy to find, and the overall atmosphere during the races is lively and exciting, creating a great vibe for both newcomers and regular fans.

This place brings me back so many memories from the 90’s. Vividly remembering sneaking in as a teen to watch the degenerates gamble away their hard earned money away. Even asked a friend’s uncle to help place some bets. Walked by today, and though no races were happening, I still saw some hard living lifers smoking their last butt before heading back into their roulette table. Never really appreciated how beautiful this location was with the stunning mountainous backdrop.
Stanley Y — Google review
Came here for The Cup event this year. The place was clean and had a lot of security that ensured everyone's safety. Parking lot was available. The betting payout ratio was easy to understand and see even though it was my first time. I personally didn't like that it was cash only, but at least they had ATM machines. Each bet was on the hour, which was a bit long... I think every 30 mins would suffice. Some of the seats (like mine) didn't have the best view, but my seat was one of the free ones of the event, so I can't complain! The view looking out at the racecourse is gorgeous with mountain view.

The Hastings Racecourse and Casino is a great place to spend time either playing slot machines, playing table games, or attending the horse races on various days of the year, mainly in the spring and summer. I had a blast watching the horse race and dog race that was on, it's a fantastic event and fun for family and friends.

Great day at the races. All staff were amazing at helping beginners understand and have fun. Would like to see more promotion to fill the grandstands.

This was a fun night. I'm not a gambler, but betting on horses was kind of fun. I'd say, if you're bored and want to do something different, check it out.

Fun place to watch horses and place some bets for entertainment. Entrance is free but parking is $15. There are food stalls where you can buy different types of easy to eat food like burgers as well as beverage stalls selling alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. You can either use the machines or go to the tellers to bet in person. There is a wall inside the building that explains how it works to all beginner or you can ask for help in-person. The brochures for the night cost an extra $3 but has lots of details to look at. There is also a casino but we didn’t go in as we already had so much fun watching the horses and betting. Before the race, they will parade the horses around so everyone can have a look. Make sure to bring cash as that is the only form of payment the establishment takes for wagers.

Nestled in the vibrant Kitsilano neighborhood, Vanier Park is a picturesque destination that offers breathtaking views of both the ocean and Vancouver's skyline. This charming park is not just about stunning scenery; it’s also home to several cultural gems including the Museum of Vancouver, the H.R. MacMillan Space Sciences Centre, and the Vancouver Maritime Museum. Visitors can easily stroll between these attractions thanks to the park's flat terrain and accessible pathways.
Beautiful park all year round. The park is huge and spacious, there’s lots of room to fly kites or throw a ball. I’ve seen people do yoga, practice swordsmanship, boot camps and play live music among many other things. The city views are unbeatable and you can take a ferry across the inlet to downtown. The Museum of Vancouver and H.R. MacMillan Space Centre are in the park as well. Both are a genuinely good time and worth seeing.

I have often visited this park, and almost always, I see a lot of geese and ducks (sometimes nearly a hundred birds) on the big green lawn and in the lake. In spring, little goslings and ducklings also appear there. But the most amazing thing is that a small lake near the Planetarium gets covered with white lilies in the summer.

The Engine 374 Pavilion is a historic site located at the corner of Davie Street and Pacific Boulevard in Vancouver. It showcases the CPR Engine 374, which holds great significance in the history of both Vancouver and British Columbia. This transcontinental train engine played a pivotal role as it pulled the first transcontinental passenger train into Vancouver on May 23, 1887, marking a monumental moment for the city and the entire nation.
Visiting Engine 374 was absolutely amazing, but not only did I get to see the locomotive, I also got to board the cab and see it for myself, plus I also got to pull the very heavy lever and pull the bell whistle. Also the staff were really friendly and sociable in telling about the train and its history on the Canadian railway / railroads. Overall, I had a great time visiting this place.
Hello N — Google review
The resting place of a gorgeous, powerful locomotive from the Golden Age of rail travel in the 19th century. It seems like a slumbering titan, imposing and majestic and yet somehow also elegant and refined. There are places for kids to play with model trains, and I saw a lot of families here, and there is also a small but quite fascinating collection of memorabilia, including magazines and books written about trains in bygone days. Still, the centerpoint is indisputably the train itself, the kind of dazzlingly immense and intricate piece of machinery that does not seem to have been made by the hands of humanity but instead emerged from the depths of the earth like a creature of myth. I feel the same sense of wistful awe that I feel when I look at the skeleton of a great prehistoric creature of the seas or the ruins of an old Roman temple. Climbing atop the train and examining it is highly encouraged, but be respectful: this is a radiant leviathan and an emblem of the almost animistic energy of industrialization that built Canada and the American West.

Cool museum to check out if you’re a fan of trains or history. The pavilion has one big train in the middle with lots of reading materials on the side. The building interior is all bricks with high ceiling and it’s a very beautiful heritage building located nearby the waters. Volunteers can help answer any questions you may have.

A great spot to quickly learn a bit of Canadian/Vancouver history and go visit an amazing CN train. It's the perfect exhibit for children or adults and you can choose how much you'd like to learn (if you do want to learn lots, speak to the volunteers). The building itself is also beautiful and well preserved with a neat history of its own. Robson Square, located in the heart of downtown Vancouver, is a vibrant public plaza that serves as the city's social hub. Surrounded by office towers and notable landmarks like the Vancouver Art Gallery and Provincial Law Courts, it offers a unique blend of urban life and natural beauty. The square hosts various art installations, impromptu performances, and public events throughout the year. In winter, visitors can enjoy affordable ice-skating at the free rink behind the Vancouver Art Gallery.
I recently attended a conference at Robson Square, located within the UBC Robson Square premises in downtown Vancouver, and I was thoroughly impressed with the venue. The building is a true architectural gem, featuring a sleek, modern design combined with stunning open spaces. The location itself is perfect — centrally situated in the heart of downtown Vancouver, making it easily accessible for attendees. The facilities are top-notch, with spacious conference rooms equipped with state-of-the-art technology. The environment is both professional and welcoming, offering a productive atmosphere for events of all sizes. One of the highlights for me was the natural light that floods the building, giving it a bright and airy feel, which makes a big difference for long conference days. Additionally, Robson Square’s proximity to nearby shops, restaurants, and attractions is a major plus for attendees looking to explore during breaks. The building also features a beautiful outdoor plaza, which is perfect for enjoying the views or taking a walk around the vibrant city center. Overall, I had an excellent experience at Robson Square and would highly recommend it as a conference venue. The location, facilities, and atmosphere made for a fantastic event. I look forward to attending another event here in the future!

Nice place to go around and walk if you are in Vancouver. There are many food trucks, Sauzzi Thai, Mr. shawarma, burgers, and some small handcrafted stations. There are many local/outside artists who come and performance in this place. Excellent to social, eat, chill out with friends all the year around! You have some Public washrooms close in any emergency and if not pacific centre!!

Robson Square is right in the heart of downtown Vancouver, which is metaphoricaly exactly where it belongs. Robson Square sits between the Provincial Court House and the Vancouver Art Gallery.  The space has multiple levels, mulitiple water falls, and a surprising amount of greenery in the overall design.  Basically it’s an urban park with stunning architecture. The biggest feature of Robson Square is it’s reputation as the go-to place for every protest or public demonstration in Vancouver.  Everyone in Vancouver gathers here, or on the North Plaza in front of the Art Gallery, and vents their frustrations with the world.  Which is a very important aspect of a healthy democracy.  I didn’t include any pictures of the protests, but the fact that Robson Square plays this role in Vancouver makes it one of the most important spaces in Vancouver.  People need a public place to express themselves and for Vancouver it’s Robson Square and the North Plaza of the Vancouver Art Gallery. I’ve actually never been inside the Vancouver Art Gallery but the building is quite beautiful and what it represents is very important.  Culture is built with creativity and the Vancouver Art Gallery is a great metaphor for this fact.  If you want your city to have culture, you need to have a vibrant art scene. Lots of artists and entrepreneurs come to Robson Square to sell their wares, play their music, take pictures, make videos, etc.  Having this free public location for artists to practice their craft is very important because real estate in Vancouver is very expensive.  There’s also a skating rink on the lower floor that doubles as a multi-functional space in the summer months for things like dancing.  There’s lots of dancing and music in Robson Square. On the quieter days Robson Square is also a good place to go just to sit and have your lunch or read a book.  There are many nooks and crannies to be found in Robson Square that you can find to just get away from it all.  Especially if you’re willing to climb the stairs that lead up to the Court House.  The view from up there is quite nice.  Especially at night, when all the lights of the city come on. I’ve taken about a million pictures of Robson Square and the ones I included here are just a few I took lately.  It’s an amazing space to be in if you’re a street photographer.  Ultimately, Robson Square is about people.  This is what makes the space come alive.  It was built for people, not trees or water or architecture.  If you want to celebrate people, come and visist Robson Square.  They are the biggest attraction that it has to offer.

Evo Movie Night at Second Beach Park 🎬🌊 What an amazing experience! Watching a movie under the stars right by the beach was something special. The atmosphere was super relaxed, people brought blankets and snacks, and the vibe was just good energy all around. The screen and sound were great, and it felt like the perfect summer night. Definitely doing it again next time. A fun and unique way to enjoy the city!

Second beach is a nice small beach, a smaller compared to English Bay and third beach. It’s more family oriented and it’s close to accessible bathrooms and multiple playgrounds. Occasionally, it can be closed for E. coli, but that’s not very often. And there’s a pool on the right of the beach if you wanna go swimming.

Second Beach is a hidden gem in Stanley Park. I love the mix of nature and city views—it feels like you’re in a forest but still close to downtown. The pool area is perfect for a summer dip, and the beach itself is clean and quiet compared to other spots. Watching the sunset here is magical, and the nearby concession stand makes it easy to grab a snack after a walk.

It's gorgeous. Lots of sitting and picnic area. It also has a playground for kids. My son really loved the firetruck on the playground. There were also stalls selling fresh cherries. Food shops and washrooms are near to the swimming pool. We had some ice cream and it was absolutely delicious.

As always with tap and barrel, chicken strips and fries are amazing. The smashed avacado benny was a bit too sour for my taste but that's prob just me. The salad dressing was way too sour/salty/sweet? It was hard to eat. Other than that, we were seated 10 mins before our reservation time and had quick service.

Spectacular, annual international fireworks festival!!! Look fwd to the Celebration of Light every summer. 3 countries compete putting on breathtaking 25 minute displays. They all have a theme synced with music. Come early, claim your patch of grass or sand, bring your picnic dinner. If you're right on English Bay and you'll be entertained by many bands. Located in the historic West End neighborhood of Vancouver, Roedde House Museum is a beautifully restored late-Victorian home that offers guided tours depicting life at the turn of the 19th century. The museum showcases over 2,700 artifacts including furniture and clothing, some of which belonged to the Roedde family. With its eleven rooms faithfully restored to reflect the lifestyle of a middle-class immigrant family, visitors can experience the ambiance of early 20th-century Canada.
This is an amazing house museum. I have been here on the last Sunday of the month, and luckily, on the last Sunday of every month, they have tea and tour. The admission was $15, and they offered one hour long guided tour of the house museum. Ian, one of the staff there, took care of the tea 🫖 and also gave information about the house museum and answered my questions. They had two types of tea - the Bengal spice and the earl gray (house special). Both of them are so tasty! I had one cup of each. They had some wafers and cookies which were also very delicious! Robert led the guided tour and he was a great guide! The tour was so informative. I then went around the house reading through all the information that had about the house. Upstairs, they had a rotating exhibit about German expressionist art. The top floor is not accessible but Robert told us that they think it could have been the bedroom of one of the kids who lived in the house. I had a great time here. I went there around 1 PM (right when the house museum opened) and I stayed until 4 PM (closing time). Three hours was perfect time for me to check out everything in the house museum. They also have two restrooms in the museum located in one of the rooms called the den.

An enjoyable visit right in the heart of the city, which transorts you back to the Victorian era! The staff here were very friendly and informative, and happy to help me and my group on a school project. We enjoyed tea and sweets in a 19th century dining room - what more could you want!
Sage F — Google review
The volunteers here are wonderful and knowledgeable; it is also fantastic to see so many pieces from the past! I also like how it's situated right in the city, as opposed to the outskirts, which makes it much more accessible.

This is a memory museum, and you can easily become a part of the memory of the people who once lived here. Cindy is a gem of a story-teller, and with the help of her narrative it was easy to see how the Roedde family beat the odds. Cindy can describe household items like the bed warmer or the hair saver in delightful details. I could see that this has been a place of warmth, where real people lived and breathed. The objects on display played a supporting role to illustrate the stories of the Roedde family. No, I didn’t find it creepy at all.
Bartika D — Google review
The Roedde House Museum in Vancouver is a hidden gem that transports visitors back to the city’s late 19th-century history, offering a rare glimpse into the domestic life of a well-to-do family during the Victorian era. Located in the West End, this meticulously restored heritage home stands as a testament to Vancouver’s early cultural and architectural history, making it a must-visit destination for history enthusiasts, architecture lovers, and photographers alike. Built in 1893 by German immigrant and prominent Vancouver businessman Gustav Roedde, the house reflects the elegance and craftsmanship of the period. Its Victorian design is characterized by detailed woodwork, ornate moldings, and period-accurate furnishings that have been carefully preserved or restored. Walking through the rooms, visitors are greeted with antique furniture, decorative arts, and household items that showcase the lifestyle, tastes, and social norms of a late-19th-century urban family. For photographers, Roedde House offers a rich palette of textures, colors, and lighting. The natural light filtering through tall sash windows highlights the intricate wood paneling and Victorian décor, creating warm and inviting compositions. Each room tells its own story—from the formal parlors and dining rooms to the cozy bedrooms and study—allowing photographers to capture intimate details that evoke the era’s elegance. Attention to angles and lighting can transform these historic interiors into striking visual narratives, blending the charm of historical architecture with storytelling.
Paul P — Google review
Had a lovely little tour here today and learned lots about the founding of Vancouver and Victorian/Edwardian middle class history. The guided tour is free or you can choose to walk around on your own. The final Sunday of the month means that they serve tea and cookies for guests in the house's dining room and the price increases to $15. Normally it is $10/adult. It was a really nice activity to do for around an hour if you're a tourist or a local, and you're supporting local heritage programs in the city.

Great sport museum, it goes through some of Canada's greatest athletes in a wide range of different sports in exhibits that they show. Plus, the museum also has a great exhibit about the 2010 Winter Olympics when they were hosted in Vancouver, you can also stand on one of the podiums that were used during medal ceremonies. Erected in 1865, this building survived the 1886 June 13 Great Vancouver Fire that had made thousands homeless. It was relocated from Hastings Sawmill (East of Gastown) to Point Grey in 1930. This museum is entirely volunteer-operated, all of whom are passionate and knowledgeable. The first floor is completely filled with various historical artefacts: from typewriters and cameras, to sewing machines and cannons. The second floor is for fashion. This section is not always open and depends on how many volunteers are available.

What a GEM. Have been in Vancouver for 40 years and had no idea this relic existed. It’s absolutely worth checking out whether you’re a local or just visiting. The array of artifacts here are an incredible time warp throughout Vancouver’s history — long before it was ever “Vancouver”. The First Nations context, stories, and items on display were what I loved most. Everyone working here is so wonderfully warm, and we felt right at home the moment we walked through the door! Check for any events or workshops they may be hosting too. We were sad to miss the one they were running on Sunday when we visited!

This building was constructed in 1865. While I wouldn’t call it truly old, it’s still a part of Vancouver’s history—especially meaningful this year, as the city celebrates its birthday. You can stop by for a visit and then continue your walk to Jericho Park, which is just a 5-minute stroll away. By the way, there’s also a very popular playground nearby with a wonderful view of the sea and West Vancouver.

This building structure begun in 1865 is Vancouver’s oldest surviving building, having survived the June 13, 1886 Great Vancouver Fire…The Old Hastings Mill Store Museum was moved from its former location on Burrard Inlet to its current site at Alma and Point Grey Road…many relics are on display and Vancouver’s historic memorabilia are present as well..this museum is located on the Hastings Mill Park..

Vancouver's oldest building that still exists. The building is current a small, but super cozy museum which is full of items that tell Vancouver’s history to its visitors. As a bonus, the view of the Bay is awesome!

Attended their Mother’s Day Celebration Tea & Tarot and it was wonderful! The tea and treats were delicious and the reading was very interesting. I forgot to get the readers business card. She and all the volunteers were lovely. Would definitely recommend.

This museum located at 1575 Alma street is the oldest surviving building in Vancouver, built 1868. Used to be the general store in the Hastings Mill on Dunlevy street and barged to its location on Alma street in the 1930's. The entrance to the museum used to be one of the first post offices that used to face the Burrard inlet and would receive mail and pkgs by boat. There is the main floor which has many beautiful antiques and the 2nd floor which showcases historical clothing from Ivan Sayers collection. The upstairs is also where many events happen. Movie nights, Mahjong nights, wreath making during Christmas time, Fall market during Hallowe'en., Bergamasca to name a few.You don't have to buy tickets to enter the museum but a small donation is appreciated. You do buy tickets for certain events but it clearly states that on their social media. This building is enriched in history. Don't miss out! Check out their website, Facebook page, Instagram to keep up with the latest events.

Kitsilano Beach Park, affectionately known as Kits, is a vibrant gem nestled in Vancouver that attracts both locals and tourists alike. This picturesque destination features a delightful combination of sandy shores and lush lawns, perfect for sunbathing or enjoying a picnic with family. The park boasts an array of amenities including tennis courts, basketball facilities, and even a heated outdoor saltwater pool for those looking to take a refreshing dip.
We had a really happy relaxing time at the beach for our first time at this beach. It's a nice beach but it's really hard to find parking because it is a hot day so it's pretty crowded on the beach but it was ok for us. The kids had fun that is the most important thing for us. Dog friendly at the restaurant. Busy washroom because it was on a hot weekend. I didn't walk around everywhere but where we walked, I didn't see the shower where you can get clean or wash your feet like they have it at spanish bank beach and East beach in White Rock. If they have it too, it would be nice

Kits Beach Park is a wonderful place to be in the summer. Though it is the busiest beach park in the city of Vancouver. So be prepared for crowds.

Kitsilano Beach Park is an absolute gem in Vancouver! I had the pleasure of visiting recently and experienced one of the most breathtaking sunsets I have ever seen. The vibrant colors of the sky as the sun dipped below the horizon were simply mesmerizing. The view was unparalleled, offering a perfect blend of natural beauty and serene ambiance. What made the experience even more special was the sense of tranquility. Spending some "me time" at Kitsilano Beach Park, listening to the gentle sound of the water waves, was incredibly soothing. The park itself is well-maintained, with plenty of space to find a quiet spot to sit and take in the surroundings. The combination of stunning scenery, peaceful environment, and the rhythmic sound of the waves created a perfect setting for relaxation and reflection. Kitsilano Beach Park truly offers one of the best sunset experiences in Vancouver. I highly recommend visiting this beautiful spot to anyone looking to unwind and enjoy nature's beauty at its finest.

Lovelyyyyy, probably in summer I can get better pictures, but for now I only got these photos, still I liked going there. My friends told me to go to play basketball as there were a court, instead of that I decided to take them pictures (they are good at basketball, I am not 🥲) It's also good to take a walk with friends, play with dogs, or exercise by yourself. If you are not afraid of cold, you can go for a swim (I am from South America so my body can't handle that in this weather, hehe)
Denisse V — Google review
The perfect walk to see a beautiful sunset or just to enjoy the sea. A picnic here during the sunny days is totally worth it. There is a pet friendly area to unleash your furry friends and let them enjoy the water and the weather. People enjoy an evening walk, a barbecue, a picnic, photo shoots etc.

The temperature was great. Not too crowded although more people started showing up at about 4pm. Everyone seemed to be in a positive mood, or maybe it was just me. Sat in my beach chair, napped, read my book, talked to my friend, watched people, and enjoyed the day. Summer is on the way!!!

Stanley Park Rose Garden, founded in 1920, is a serene and colorful oasis within the expansive 988-acre waterfront park. With over 3,500 rose bushes and a stunning west coast-inspired arbor adorned with climbing roses and clematis, the garden offers a picturesque setting for leisurely strolls or romantic outings. The floral display beds showcase seasonal spectacles of color from June to October with annuals and perennials, as well as flowering bulb displays from March to May.
I love visiting this garden at different times throughout the year. The flowers were in full bloom. The lawn was well-maintained. There were benches nearby to rest on and admire the view. The garden has several paths to walk through and some vehicle access roads. A great location for photos or picnicking.

Not the Rose Garden, but behind the Aquarium and Brockton Pavillion area. so here we are for now. We visited our favorite Stanley Par and explored new terrain. These pics are from what felt like all over Stanley Park kinda day. From the bus loop, we walked towards the Aquarium... shoutout to Kelly from the Bicycle Bistro for your generosity 🙏. Anyway we then took the trail 👣 from the Aquarium towards the OLD former Polar Bear Zoo exhibit (these ate some mini interconnected trails), and across the road onto the trail leading to the Totem poles, we walked that trail for a bit and used a side trail and eventually ended up at Brockton Pavillion area which is very beautiful. All new terrain exploration for us. Enjoy the pics from our little spontaneous adventure.

One of the best parks in Canada. Beautiful flowers. Well maintained.
Rajeev A — Google review
The Rose Garden is nice, but needs more roses that actually have a fragrant scent. Only 2 types I can actually smell anything. I personally love the other flowers and plants that are in the area of the Rose Garden better. Love it when they have bright colorful flowers in the surrounding flower beds. It can be a beautiful serene place to just take in the colors and have a nice stroll and relax your mind, or just take some pictures of the beauty. I have noticed that the flower gardens and other plant beds were much more full and had more variety prior to 2022. After that, it is more sparse and not as many different varieties of flowers/plants as previously. Some of the large beautiful tall trees that I used to love, have been cut down as well. I think there may have been budget cuts or something as far as the flower gardens since 2022, as I see a drastic change. Though I do love the gardens, I can say that other cities have better flower gardens. Would be nice if the City would invest in this area of Stanley Park more. Otherwise, it is a beautiful area in the Spring and Summer, and even into very early Fall.

Historical landmark
Vancouver Chinatown Millennium Gate is a significant landmark in the historic Chinatown neighborhood, featuring three ornate arches in traditional Chinese style. The gate, inaugurated in 2002 by former Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chretien, is adorned with elaborate decorative features and Chinese characters on its eastern face. It's best viewed from a distance to appreciate its terracotta roof and intricate design.
Very nice area with old architecture in almost original condition. Nice stores and restaurants. Felt fine during the day but not too safe after dark.
Hernan A — Google review
This is just a gate in the middle of the road to show that you are now entering Chinatown. The gate itself is fine, it has some words at the base so that you can read about how it is relevant to Chinatown and who donated this gate. That aside, do pay attention to personal safety around this area. Free to entry, no line up nor ticket required.
Tim C — Google review
A cute Chinatown that has plenty of restaurant options and street parking. ONLY reason I am reducing the rating to 3-stars is because of the amount of homeless in the area and how UNSAFE it is for everyone. Be careful if you go. There are plenty of options for food though.
Navita B — Google review
I been to many china town around the world and this is one of the smallest chinatown compare other places inluding Toronto. Not many restaurants or market surround by, mostly small business and grocery shop and gift shop. So many homeless people in the area, dont expect to much of chinese culture or products at this chinatown.

Historic area of the city. Don’t be fooled about the reviews about the community. Certainly, there are many marginalized folks and a lot of open drug use but the people are decent and mostly harmless. In 30 years of living in Vancouver, I’ve spent plenty of time in the area (and worked here for 4 years). The only place my personal safety has been compromised is Yaletown. Poverty does not equal danger.
Alana8 — Google review
There are some beautiful things in this neighborhood and some not so beautiful graffiti. The area was probably once very amazing but is very dirty with a lot of panhandlers. I would still go see it. There are no tickets needed to walk the historic streets of the neighborhood and an all day city bus pass is $11 and will drop you right by the gate.
Tammy R — Google review
The gate and all of the buildings/architecture was really cool to see. After you see the gate, you need to turn around. It is not safe to go further beyond this point. I saw people openly doing crack, meth, injecting drugs, crack pipes. It was really rough. The alleyways are not safe between the buildings. The streets are not safe. I saw one gentlemen laying on the ground in the middle of the sidewalk who had a lighter that looked like a gun and it scared me so bad.
Erin R — Google review
My family walked into this area totally by accident when we were strolling through Gastown. We wondered what we had strolled into. This place really looked like it can be very dangerous at times. And it looked like it was once upon a time a thriving place to be. I have always thought Vancouver was such a beautiful city. In fact it was once ranked the most livable city in the world. What has happened? Why no one cared that this place has such great potential to be a major tourist attraction and great place to live?

FlyOver Canada is a unique 4D simulation flight entertainment experience that takes you on a virtual journey from the east coast to the west coast of Canada. You'll be immersed in the sights and sounds of Canada, including the serene starry sky of the Canadian Arctic Circle and the mesmerizing green aurora above the clouds. As you 'fly,' you'll soar over forest waterfalls, touch icebergs, and even catch whiffs of tree fragrance and water mist.
Absolutely highly recommended to try this experience! A small trick: if someone in your group has a BC driver’s license, their tickets will be discounted. The experience starts with a 5-8 minute film in the special room, that’s kind of a First Nation acknowledgment. After that, you’ll be led to a special cinema hall with vertical rows and a huge sphere-like screen. Believe me, this flying experience feels totally real! And the spring water, in particular moment, makes it even better. It’s definitely breathtaking!

Visited the Flyover Canada and did the Iceland Flyover. The ride cost about 32CAD discounted for BC residents. There is a short 6 minutes show before the ride.. I did not find the intermission show interesting at all. It seems they tried to make it kids friendly but even the kids doesn’t look interested. The storyline feels disconnected. After the intermission, visitors are led to the room with the rides. It was not a full room, there were vacant sits. The actual probably took amount 10 minutes (maybe less?). The show was interesting and I enjoyed it, although thee are a lot of room for improvements. It s supposed to be a sensory ride but it was missing the sensory effects. The mist was very milk and almost nothing, would also be nice if there will be strong cold or hot air, or some fragrance. The entire experience including intermission was about less than 30 minutes ( maybe about 20) which was quite an expensive for the price. Although I enjoyed the experience, I don’t think it’s worth the price. If you are tight on budget, I would not recommend this ride. This is expensive if doing it with family. Video recording was not allowed inside so I was not able to record the experience.

Had a wonderful time visiting the Flyover. All the team members are friendly and professional. We did both offerings- Canada and Iceland. It's really amazing to feel like you're soaring through the sky! If you arrive early there's a snack shop and gift shop. Great selection to choose from too. There's also a pic you can purchase to commemorate your visit. Try it next time you are at Canada place. BTW, if you need assistance with accessibility you can easily be accommodated. There's elevators if you have trouble with climbing stairs.

I recently went to FlyOver Canada in Vancouver, and honestly, it was absolutely stunning and mesmerizing. The ride itself feels incredibly real, you really get the sensation of flying over some of Canada’s most breathtaking landscapes, like the Rockies and the vast wilderness. The visuals are spectacular, and the effects like mist, wind, and even scents totally make the experience feel immersive and unforgettable. It’s the kind of adventure that’s great for all ages and really shows off the beauty of Canada from a unique perspective. One thing I noticed though is that the pre-show introduction could be handled better. Everyone ended up standing around, which made it tough to see the screen if you’re seated and especially if you’re disabled, you don’t get the best visibility unless you’re right up front. It was a bit frustrating and could be more organized to make sure everyone can see comfortably. But once the actual ride started, all those little issues disappeared. The flight was mesmerizing and completely captivating from start to finish. I highly recommend taking some pictures after the ride at the gift shop to remember the experience. Overall, it was unforgettable and definitely worth doing if you are visiting Vancouver. It’s a perfect mix of technology and storytelling that really brings Canada to life in the most incredible way.

Totally recommend this! I’ve lived in Vancouver for years and just tried FlyOver Canada — way better than I expected. The visuals are stunning and it really feels like you’re flying. Great for families or just a fun outing. Plus, there’s a discount for BC residents — just bring some ID! I’ll definitely be back when they rotate the films.

🎢 Entertainment: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 👉🏻 FlyOver Canada is such a unique and thrilling experience! The immersive ride makes you feel like you’re truly flying across breathtaking Canadian landscapes. It’s both exciting and relaxing at the same time—an absolute must-try for locals and tourists alike. ✈️🍁 💁🏼 Service: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 👉🏻 The service at the ticket office was smooth and professional. Staff were friendly, helpful, and quick to answer questions, which made the check-in process easy and stress-free. 👏🏼 💡 Tips for Visitors: 🗺️ The ticket station is located right by Canada Place, making it easy to find. 💳 It’s cheaper to buy tickets online, and if you hold a BC driver’s license (proof of residency), you can also enjoy discounted rates. 🥤 Drinks are not allowed inside the building, so avoid buying a big drink before entering—you won’t be able to bring it in.

This ride is the only one of its kind in greater Vancouver. The experience overall (including the mini film inside, lining up, the ride) lasts about 30 minutes, but the actual ride itself is about 10 minutes. My only complaint is the price is pretty steep for an attraction that is so brief.

The Second Beach Swimming Pool is an outdoor pool located in Stanley Park that offers picturesque views of English Bay. It is a spacious and heated pool, which includes play features for children and food concessions. This spot is ideal for summer swimming, but it's worth noting that there may be a difference in swimming pace depending on the direction you choose due to either a current or wind from English Bay. The bright turquoise water color blends seamlessly into the bay during the day and creates a stunning reflection during quiet evenings.
Great spot for spending a nice weekend with your friends/family. Water temperature was just right and lockers were provided for free. I think that kids are going to love this pool since it has 3 fun slides. It was a great experience and we will definitely come back again!

Second beach swimming pool is a nice swimming pool where you can hang out with your family. They have kids section and three slides. One of them is for toddlers. One of them is for kids and then one of them is for adults and teenagers so it is very family oriented. They also have a swimming zone for swimmers who just want to do lengths. There’s bathrooms and changing rooms really close by and there’s a lot of space at the pool where you can sit down and get a sun tan.

i had came here with my family today. came at the 3:00-5:30 time bir arrived at 4:00. this pool is a really good pool as my whole family is always talking about going to it, we enjoy going because as someone who is 1 hour away from this place. i get very excited to visit. today my and my brother spend around 1 hour in the pool and spent the rest of the half hour tanning. this pool is nice, but i see it more as a younger children swimming pool or like a family pool, not much slides, no diving board and no swimming toys. I am also not a huge fan of the time changes from noon-2:30 pm and the 3:00-5:30 preferably, if this place was open from noon to 5:30, i would be here more often. But, for the price of this place i 100% think it’s worth it, i just don’t think i’ll be spending more than an hour swimming if i ever do in fact come back here. thanks Second Beach Swimming Pool. See you soon!

Open public pool in an unbeatable location. Come in the evening to avoid crowds. Better to ride your bike and lock it outside the pool, as it will be tough to find parking, especially during weekends. Stanley Park seawall and English Bay are within reach.

I enjoyed visiting the Second Beach Pool. Outside the pool area, there’s a public washroom and a separate changing room, which is great, though something to note is that the changing room doesn’t have doors. There are also coin-operated lockers, which are handy for storing your belongings while you swim. The pool itself is lovely, with beautiful views of both the city and the beach. There are two small slides, one clearly designed for children and the other also quite small, though still fun for adults to try. Both are open for adults, but you can tell one is meant for kids. There’s also a lap swimming area. The pool can get a bit crowded, but overall the space is not bad for hanging out with friends, having a relaxed swim, and enjoying the atmosphere. (Though there are a lot if children)The water was warm and clean, making it a pleasant experience.

Second beach is a great pool, 3 -50 m lanes usually enough for the serious swimmers and a large shallow end for recreation. The pool is great for families , maybe better than Kits pool as there is a a huge well equipped playground near by and food vendors . The bad thing here is Vancouver parks board have contracted out the parking so be prepared to pay $4.50 per hour for your fun .

Beer to Second Beach Swimming Pool in Stanley Park, Vancouver, many times and I must say it is a fantastic experience. The swimming pool, nestled in the heart of the park, offers a refreshing and enjoyable way to beat the summer heat. Only negative is since Covid you are only allowed to be in pool for a certain time slot which sucks. But anyway we make the most of it. The pool itself is clean and well-maintained. The water is crystal clear and the temperature is just right for a relaxing swim. The pool is also quite spacious, providing ample room for both swimming laps and leisurely floating. Whether you're looking to get in some exercise or simply unwind, the Second Beach Swimming Pool offers the perfect setting. The surrounding area of the pool is also worth mentioning. The pool is located right by the beach, offering breathtaking views of English Bay. The sandy beach is a great spot to relax and soak up the sun after a swim. There are also plenty of amenities nearby, including picnic areas, playgrounds, and concession stands, making it a great destination for families and friends. The staff at the Second Beach Swimming Pool are friendly and attentive. They ensure that the pool area is clean and safe, and they are always available to assist with any questions or concerns. The lifeguards on duty are vigilant and provide an added sense of security, especially for families with children. Overall, I highly recommend the Second Beach Swimming Pool in Stanley Park, Vancouver. It offers a wonderful opportunity to cool off and enjoy the beauty of the park and the stunning views of English Bay. With its clean facilities, friendly staff, and picturesque location, the Second Beach Swimming Pool is a must-visit destination for locals and tourists alike.

Located at 1050 Beach Avenue in Vancouver, BC, the Vancouver Aquatic Centre is a beloved swimming destination for locals. Despite its age, this facility offers a range of amenities including a water slide, rope swing, toddler pool, and a dive tank with diving towers up to 10 meters high. While praised for its outstanding staff and cleanliness, there are some concerns about managing lane allocation and recent incidents of theft. We were promptly stopped by a lifeguard, who informed us that no tips, advice, or instruction of any kind can be shared between patrons, regardless of context, as private swimming lessons are available through the facility. When I raised a concern and referenced the City of Vancouver’s published policy — which clearly states that you can assist friends as long as you are also working out (which was the case). I was told by the front desk staff that this was an “internal policy” not available to the public and that it was simply “common sense.” No evidence or documentation supporting the lifeguard’s decision was provided. This is not only frustrating but also raises serious concerns about transparency, and equity in the application of policy in publicly funded spaces. These pools are funded by taxpayers for the benefit of the community. To prevent family and friends from casually supporting each other in learning critical life skills — such as swimming — is both discouraging and, frankly, disheartening. Water safety and swimming proficiency are essential life skills, and learning opportunities should be as accessible and inclusive as possible. If this policy exists solely to protect revenue from private lessons, then it stands at odds with the public mandate of community centres: to foster health, safety, and wellbeing. I urge the City to: 1. Review and publicly clarify the policy regarding casual instruction between friends and family in public pools. 2. Ensure that front-line staff are accurately and transparently communicating those policies. 3. Reconsider any internal policies that may create unnecessary barriers to community learning, particularly when they impact access to vital skills like swimming. I am open to further discussion and would appreciate a response, as well as an apology for the handling of the situation. I hope the City of Vancouver will reflect on this and take steps to reaffirm its commitment to accessible, community-centered services.

I might be the only woman here, but I'm thankful for this awesome area and moments that we can spend a lot with togetherness and warmth. Thanks nature and wonder 😇🤴

A well equipped, decently managed, pleasant and huge indoor swimming pool for the months you cannot dip in the sea due to cold weather. With sauna and jacuzzi availability, diving tank, large pool, small pool, weightlifting space, and a very conveneient location, it is definitely worth a visit.

Great Facility in the west end. The staff are amazing, and i don't think they get enough recognition for the work they do.The 5 stars go to all the amazing staff that make going to the aquatic centre so wonderful. The aquatic centre needs to have balance of how many lanes they offer for public and for all the teams that swim there. Seems like a logistics issue. Change rooms are clean. The facility is great but lately there seems to be a lot of theft and breaking of lockers. I wish they would have some system of security to make sure people and their belongings are safe and protected. Individuals who think they can get high and come for a swim, well they should proceed with caution and i have seen this happen and the staff handled this really well. Actually Kudos to the staff who handled the situation with grace, empathy and professionalism. The facility is amazing! thank you to all the amazing staff that make going to the aquatic centre so amazing ! You are noticed and hope you will be acknowledged and recognized.

Facilities are great given their age. Staff are unbelievably rude. They clearly hate their career but feel trapped by the incentive of a government pension. Would be great to see some new blood behind the desk and running the facility.

You could at least update your hours on here to reflect what you have on the door. Arrived and it was closed after checking if it was open online. Shame.

Great swimming pool and gym with the bonus of an outdoor basketball hoop (they provide the 🏀) and punching bag! Bonus: can walk through swimming area to cool off outside between sauna sessions. New favourite workout spot for the summer, and probably the winter!

Aquatic center
Hillcrest Aquatic Centre is the city's largest aquatic facility, offering both indoor and outdoor pools with all the amenities needed for a perfect summer swim. Kids and parents love the toys, play areas, bubble jets, slide, and lazy river. The warm pool is great for rehabilitation while the gym is well-equipped. Separate men's and women's change rooms are available. Located near Queen Elizabeth Park, it also offers sports facilities like curling and skating on the second floor.
Hillcrest Community Center is a fantastic facility that truly serves the community. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. The center is well-maintained, clean, and offers a wide range of activities for all ages. The gym is spacious and well-equipped, making it a great place for both casual workouts and organized sports. The variety of fitness classes, from yoga to dance, ensures that there’s something for everyone. The community rooms are also excellent for hosting events, meetings, and programs. For families, the center is a great spot. The indoor play area is a hit with young kids, and the outdoor spaces, including the playground and sports fields, are well-kept and fun to use. The after-school programs and summer camps are well-organized and engaging, providing a safe and enriching environment for children. Parking is convenient, and the location is easily accessible. It’s clear that Hillcrest Community Center is a place where people come together to learn, stay active, and build connections. Whether you’re looking for fitness options, community events, or a space to gather, this center has it all. Highly recommend checking it out!

Facility is really nice but ice rink manager is an idiot, kicked me out for taking photos while 3 ADULT hockey players were finishing stick time, said I was "violating their privacy." There is also a mezzanine area overlooking the rink, so what's the difference? Curling rink closed for summer.

It's still a good place for swim. It has a few pools, 3 diving boards, wet sauna, hot tub, steam room and lazy river etc. The family with little ones will love this pool since there has bigger area for kids. The staff are helpful and friendly. It's super busy in the summer holiday. Please expect longer wait and be kind to all. But it is getting too crowded, it's hardly getting tidy and clean. If you can go there not in the busy period would be better. The parking is not easy now since there are a big construction in the Nat Bailey Stadium. It takes longer time for the parking but they have staff there guide you where to park. They have nice flowers field in the entrance.
Wah Y — Google review
It's a fun place to go swimming, and although I haven't been there in years, I used to go all the time. The pool features a lazy river, a kids' section, a large hot tub, and an outdoor area. It’s pretty affordable for minors. It was only like five dollars. However, I did have a negative experience once when my belongings were stolen from the lockers. I lost my favorite watch, and my dad went to great lengths to help me find it. Luckily, we eventually located it, but it was a stressful situation. This happened quite a while ago, so just be cautious and make sure to lock the lockers with your clothes and other valuables. Also remember to bring your own lock because they will charge you $18 if you don’t. They said that they do have some lockers that accept quarters but it’s a limited number. There’s lots of pool toys through the lazy river, and there’s also water guns which you can shoot people. They’re more like water turrets, which are stationary in one place.
Gabriel D — Google review
Great spot for a morning or afternoon outing with the kids. It’s affordable and never feels too crowded. We finally went when the outdoor kids pool was open — tons of extra fun with the spray features and shallow water, perfect for little ones. Easy way to burn off energy and cool down on a warm day. Definitely a go-to for summer.

I visited the Aquatic Centre on a Monday afternoon and was able to get in quickly without any wait. The facility is quite nice, offering a great environment for swimming. Although I only used the indoor area, I found everything there to be well-maintained and enjoyable. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the amenities met my expectations. Overall, I had a positive experience, and I would definitely recommend this place to others. :)

A well-equipped community centre with a swimming pool, indoor courts, and an ice rink. The facilities are clean, the staff are friendly, and it’s a great place to spend the whole day staying active and relaxed.

Andy Livingstone Park, located in the heart of Vancouver's Gastown, offers a serene escape from city life. The park features a pond, playground, and trails for leisurely strolls. Sports enthusiasts can enjoy the well-maintained soccer fields and baseball diamond. The beautifully landscaped garden is a highlight, showcasing an array of blooming plants throughout the seasons. Nearby shops offer delicious snacks to enjoy while exploring this urban oasis.
This park is amazing. It's like an individual's playground. It has many different levels and areas and changes in elevation. If we had more public order it would have like kind of a cool social democratic vibe, but as it is, it's like a wild jungle where you can't take kids. I assume all the good reviews are from desperate real estate agents, which is pretty shady and disgusting.
Merle L — Google review
Nothing special. Good design but lacks maintenance and was littered. Several "strange" folks hanging around (Sunday 9am).
Vincent O — Google review
OK space bit junky and the bathroom is disgusting but decent fall colours and views of the city
David P — Google review
Visitors seeking light greenery or a break from the city hustle will find Andy Livingstone Park a suitable spot. It's particularly friendly for families with children and pets, offering amenities like a pond and a seated area. The park encourages active recreation, so bringing sports equipment like soccer balls, basketballs, and frisbees is recommended for those looking to engage in various outdoor activitie
Arianna S — Google review
It's a nice park with a lot to see, but too bad there are a lot of homeless people around living in tents and also I can see it's a nice spot for drug addicts. Rest is nice, big field with a basketball court and a small park for kids, but they need to do something with the above mentioned.
Sebastian B — Google review
Those looking for a touch of nature or a respite from urban life will appreciate Andy Livingstone Park as an ideal location. It's especially welcoming to families with kids and pets, providing features such as a pond and seating areas. The park promotes active leisure, making it a great place to bring sports gear like soccer balls, basketballs, and Frisbee for those interested in participating in a range of outdoor activities..

It is like 2-3 minutes away from Stadium Chinatown SkyTrain station and it is pretty spacious and a lot of place to sit down relax with friends or family! If you want to spend a good time with people, you can visit this park!

This is a terrific activity based park. They have several turf fields, a children's play area and some smaller grassy areas to sit and stroll through. There is a public washroom and a nice little bridge. Parking is avarice on the street or a nearby parkade. It is on a free bus routes and a short walk from the Chinatown Skytrain station. It has a great view of the Vancouver western cityscape and is very close to nearby businesses for food or entertainment.

Sports complex
The UBC Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre can be a bit tricky to locate, especially in the evenings when public transportation is limited. However, evo carshare is a convenient option for those willing to be designated drivers due to limited local parking. The venue itself offers great sound quality and a decent atmosphere for events, although floor seating queues can be time-consuming. After events, transportation options may be limited and expensive due to surge pricing.
Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre is a versatile, high-quality venue that balances elite sports with community access. It’s home to UBC Thunderbirds hockey and figure skating, but also hosts concerts, graduation ceremonies, and international tournaments. The ice quality is excellent, and the seating layout offers good views from almost every angle. The facility is clean, modern, and well-integrated into the campus, with nearby cafés and transit options. Downsides? Parking can be tricky during big events, and the atmosphere varies depending on the crowd—some games feel electric, others subdued. Still, it’s one of Vancouver’s best mid-sized arenas, with a strong mix of performance and accessibility.
Maryam M — Google review
I recently attended the Twins concert at Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre, and the experience was fantastic! The venue’s layout is excellent, providing great views from every seat, and the seating itself was comfortable, ensuring a pleasant experience throughout the event. The staff were professional, friendly, and well-prepared, handling the crowd efficiently and ensuring everything ran smoothly. The event was exceptionally well-organized, from ticketing to crowd control, making the evening stress-free and enjoyable. The management did an outstanding job hosting such a large-scale event, and the energy in the venue was incredible. I highly recommend this venue for concerts and events—truly top-notch!

Flew to Vancouver for Babymetal, landed 45 min before doors, cabbed there and sold my extra ticket, easy and separate floor access, very nice size concert venue. Floor was wet and slippery from ice under it/humidity, heat I am guessing. Not ideal for moshing... Yet did not seem to be a huge pain, was alright. Sound, ah well it wasn't great but was not as head splittingly loud as the two previous shows I had attended at smaller venues, the bigger space helped and hindered maybe. Those smaller venues did have clearer/cleaner sound but this was acceptable. The bands were five star, energy, moshing, stage set up. Always better with 20 foot flames. Staff were friendly and all seemed to know their jobs, fans were the usual friendly metal crowd. Five star show but sound could be better, sometimes it is the band's sound guys, not enough time to fine tune things to different venues... Lots of reasons but the venue should have a sound guy and put money into improving sound if it is a music venue as well as sports. And the slippery floor, maybe there was nothing that could be done. Maybe a large carpet for the mosh area? Tacked around the edges? Maybe I ask too much. I will definitely return for the right shows that don't come to Alberta.

Amazing Staff — Shockingly Poor Management I came to skate on Saturday, and there was a hockey game right before the public skating session. Shockingly, the rink was not cleaned afterward. It felt like skating on rough snow rather than ice — completely unacceptable for a public session. Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time I’ve witnessed such mismanagement. Over the past year, they have repeatedly run out of wristbands and resorted to marking visitors’ hands with markers as a substitute. UBC should seriously reconsider the management team running this facility. The staff themselves are great, but the leadership is clearly failing.
Anonymous — Google review
Nice little arena. Very good crowd management team. Closed inbound roads and had everything outbound after the concert to get cars out quickly.
David W — Google review
I strongly advise against this venue if you require accessibility assistance. Despite their website listing two elevators for accessibility, none were available for public use on the night of the concert. Staff repeatedly told us "there are no elevators," forcing wheelchair users to navigate without aid. This is a blatant failure to provide the basic access they advertise. Do not trust their stated accommodations.

UBC Aquatic Centre in Vancouver is a top-notch swimming facility with three pools catering to different preferences. The 50-meter competition pool is ideal for serious swimmers and classes, while the leisure pool and lazy river offer a more laid-back experience. The recently renovated center also features amenities like a steam room, sauna, and a large hot tub. Although the lap swimming pool is well-maintained, it's recommended to check the schedule for availability as certain areas may be closed at times.
The facilities are excellent, and the staff is both friendly and professional. This is the cleanest and best-maintained indoor pool in all of Vancouver. The only individuals not allowed in this pool are criminals and rude, cranky people. I didn't encounter any issues; I simply asked the front desk for some information, and they were well-informed about how to access certain areas. Although we had a bit of trouble with the locker system, the front desk staff was happy to assist and explain everything. Now we know what to do when we return here for a swim.
D M — Google review
This is truly an amazing facility and you can come visit for cheap. Plenty of water activities from swimming pools to steam room. Definitely worth checking out at least once, because they do have drop ins. Check the schedule before you go!

Best Best Best place for swimming I have ever been! After been here, I started to love swimming!❤️ The lifeguards are so responsible! They keep walking to see anyone needs help, they rotate between the pools, they are so friendly to ask something. Never worry about risk or anything. They will also call out even if see some kids want to swim in deep pool.🛟 Super hygienic! Always someone cleaning and wiping unstopped. Don’t recommend to take shower here, since there is sign that to be economic, the hot shower water is rain water so let’s help saving them! 💧 But do take a quick shower before entering the pool! 💰Price: free for UBC student. $7 for public adult single pass. 🥽Pools: leisure or 25m or 50m. Sometimes 50m is closed in half lanes for classes and trainings. Always many people in leisure pool but I love 50m pool!!
Cynthia W — Google review
Top tier facility. Very clean, well lit, great atmosphere and amenities. I go out of my way to get here from North Van but it’s worth the trip. Parking is easy and is underground just a short walk away.
Aria N — Google review
Overall the facility is good, but: (1) the website is unnecessarily complicated - it is very difficult for the general public to understand basic information like when the pool is open and how much it costs to enter. No one answers the phone when you call trying to get clarification, and no one calls you back if you leave a message. (2) The locker system is difficult to operate and often "eats" coins. You have to ask a lifeguard to get your coin back which is very inefficient for everyone involved. As other reviewers have mentioned, not everyone is comfortable asking for assistance, so some people will simply lose coins trying to operate the lockers. The lifeguards are great, but the management is clearly not prioritizing the overall accessibility of this facility by failing to address these 2 known and ongoing issues.
Jazz G — Google review
It's unfortunate that what would otherwise be a very awesome visit was ruined after the swim, when I had to take a shower at the women's washroom. The shower was a push a button on the wall and it would go for a few minutes type of system (where you can't choose the temp). The problem was every time you pushed the button, the water that came out was cold. Not lukewarm but ice COLD! By the time it finally became lukewarm, the water would stop and you would have to press the button again, which would shoot out water so frigid that I had to run out of the shower. It would eventually turn lukewarm and then stop again...over and over the cycle went. It's unacceptable that after a great workout when my body was warm and relaxed, that I was made more tense and colder than before I arrived b/c of the lack of shower temperature regulation. I don't intend to return to this facility until this gets addressed.

Super good place for athletic and walk in people Reception was super friendly when she was giving me 1 buck for locker. There are 4 super big pool for every one. It is a best place I’ve been in BC. Hot tub for kids are super imaging with strong tub water. I felt absolutely relax here.

So nice to be out cheering on our athletes! Such talent! Pool was well kept, clean. Not great set up to get into stands though. Walk a country mile for a meet since they won't let u in main doors. Otherwise great facilities!
