Granville Island is a charming cultural and artistic hub in Vancouver, known for its daily public market featuring over 50 food vendors. The island underwent a major transformation in the 1970s, turning from a polluted industrial site into one of Vancouver's most beloved attractions. Visitors can explore artisan studios, cozy cafes, and a two-level kids market. The bustling public market offers an array of goods including fresh produce, local eats, crafts, and more.
We walked to the island from Kitsilano via the beach front, which is definitely worth doing, the island itself is very tourists driven, however it is also a popular shopping area, for locals, we loved just walking around taking it all in there are many galleries to enjoy as well as the souvenir shops. All in all wonderful experience.

My experience at Granville Island was wonderful! They have a charming market that is very well-stocked with a great variety of products, including many delicious cheeses, fruits, patisserie and foods. I made sure to try their very famous and highly recommended soup. Honestly, it’s a must-visit spot. Plus, the whole neighborhood is incredibly beautiful and clean, making the area really pleasant."
Thamy S — Google review
Granville Island is a must-visit in Vancouver! This vibrant spot offers a mix of: - Fresh food at the Public Market - Local artisans and handmade crafts - Live street performers - Craft beers at Granville Island Brewing Co. - Stunning waterfront views A perfect blend of creativity, community, and fun. It is also a tourist trap
Blessing O — Google review
Granville Island is a unique spot with a lot of character, though my experience was a bit of a mixed bag. As someone with no sense of direction, I found the layout of the island a little challenging to navigate. The network of alleys, industrial-style buildings, and indoor/outdoor market spaces had me doing a few loops! The gloomy, overcast weather that day didn't help, casting a slightly subdued and industrial feel over the place. However, the heart of the island is undoubtedly the Public Market. It's a vibrant hub bursting with life, where I loved wandering past the fantastic food stands and unique artisan stores. The location right on the water is a major plus. Being next to the pier made it incredibly easy for us to take a scenic ferry ride directly to downtown Vancouver, which was a highlight. I arrived fairly early on a weekday, so it was much less crowded than I had anticipated. The downside was that several restaurants were still closed until nearer to noon.
Jayne Z — Google review
Sept. 19/25: Haven’t been here for a long time as parking is limited and all pay. It’s too bad because it’s definitely a tourist destination and I’m sure the many businesses would appreciate more parking. The public market is a draw with its vast array of everything gourmand, sights and sounds enticing. Lee’s Donuts is a big draw here, look up for the filled donuts as the brightly coloured iced donuts are displayed in front at people level. Fresh filled cappaletta, fresh basil, variety of cheeses and pastry was purchased. Everything looks very fresh but not light on the wallet.
DLH — Google review
Granville Island is a wonderful place to spend the day! It has a wide variety of shops, bakeries, and restaurants offering something for everyone. You’ll find everything from toys for kids and pet supplies to handmade jewelry, clothing, unique gifts, crafts, paintings, and more. It’s also home to several theaters, and there are always cultural events happening — like plays, dance performances, and live concerts. It’s a very complete and vibrant place, perfect for locals and tourists alike. Getting there is easy too — whether by car, bus, sea taxi, or even on foot.
Tamia C — Google review
A nice place to explore locally made goods, food and more! The sights of the island itself are also beautiful.
Forest B — Google review
Had a fun filled weekend morning here. Our kid enjoyed stroll around the island. Definitely recommend visit on a sunny day especially weekends for a tourist to enjoy the vibe or for local people. There is fruit market, flower market, kids play areas, shopping, restaurants, activities so on. Parking is plenty but quickly fills up by noon, so plan to visit in the morning hours before noon.

Cocktail bar
Bar
Nestled in the heart of Vancouver's Chinatown, The Keefer Bar is a captivating cocktail haven that transports you to an apothecary-inspired world. As you step inside this intimate space, you'll be greeted by soft lighting and intriguing decor featuring Chinese anatomical illustrations and vintage glassware. The ambiance sets the stage for an unforgettable experience as you explore their innovative drink menu, which features unique concoctions crafted with house-made bitters, herbal infusions, and exotic fruits.
Atmosphere: 7.5/10 Set in Vancouver’s Chinatown, the area surrounding the bar has visible street challenges and some homelessness, which affects the overall vibe. Inside, the concept is clever—drawing from traditional Chinese medicine with signage and visual elements that playfully frame alcohol as a form of healing. There’s a patio, a cool integrated backbar, and a decent mix of table and bar seating. Music volume was just right for conversation. Drinks: 8/10 Recommendation: Cool As Drinks were consistently well balanced. Menu is digital-only, but well-designed with pictures and flavor details. Would’ve loved a physical menu for a more premium feel. Glassware was good, but garnish and presentation were on the basic side. No coasters. Service: 8.5/10 Water offered on arrival. The team was friendly and attentive. Prices were average for Vancouver. Overall experience felt well-managed and smooth
Anton S — Google review
This long-standing bar has built a solid reputation over the years, and it’s easy to see why. Every cocktail on the menu is expertly crafted with great attention to detail, delivering both excellent flavor and balance in every sip. The atmosphere is vibrant and inviting—perfect for unwinding with friends or enjoying a night out—and the staff are warm, attentive, and genuinely hospitable, making the whole experience feel special from start to finish.

We went twice in the same week — all the drinks were really well made and delicious. We ordered some shots (can’t remember the name) but they were interesting! Service was good both times.

Didn’t have a chance to try the food but came for the happy hour drinks. Love the old school medical vibe inside. Great service from friendly staff. Drinks were delicious and great prices for happy hour!
Maria W — Google review
Best bar I have ever been to, period full stop. I have been to upscale bars all over north america and this is better then ANY cocktail bar I have ever visited. The staff is amazing every single visit. Their selection of cocktails is off the charts and if you want something totally off menu just ask. Make this a must visit bar any time you come to Vancouver.
Mark S — Google review
Drink menu is deep and all bangers. Our server was great, made great recommendations, checked in on us just the right amount and was generally great. Inside was a bit loud for my elderly ears, but sitting outside was perfect. They even gave my wife a blanket to make sure she was comfortable! Definitely a must-go for cocktail enthusiasts.
Micah Q — Google review
One of the best in Cocktails. Bar tenders are so professional and nice. We had some food which tasted so good.
Sharzi B — Google review
They chose a theme and fully committed to the bit. Upon entry you are given a prescription pad with instructions for one of their drinks and the QR code to the menu. The menu itself is full of fun drinks. The decor on the inside of the bar is on theme and even the bathroom has X-rays in it. The cocktails we had were delicious and as described.

Nestled within the stunning surroundings of Stanley Park, the Vancouver Aquarium is a must-visit destination for families and marine enthusiasts alike. This beloved attraction offers an incredible opportunity to explore both local and exotic aquatic life, showcasing over 65,000 animals including playful sea otters, charming penguins, and majestic sea turtles. For more than six decades, it has been dedicated to education and conservation rather than flashy performances.
We had a great time at the Vancouver aquarium. Well worth coming here. It was a bit crowded, but that’s ok it was Easter long weekend. Very well organized and clean. The staff and volunteers were lovely and very friendly and helpful. It was very educational, and it filled my heart that they rehabilitated some of the animals and some permanent residents as they could not survive back in the wild on own. If I lived here I would definitely come me back. There was lots of parking. We had a lovely time here and will come back in my next visit to Vancouver.
Roxy D — Google review
Great sea otter program by Vanessa! Super engaging and loved getting to know more about the otters. Also really enjoyed the seal feeding and getting to know more about the rescues! The entire aquarium was a blast, got to see so many amazing creatures, the pacific and tropical sections are beautiful. Highly recommend getting tickets online, and they have a great student discount. 10/10 would recommend for a great half day trip.
Jessica C — Google review
It's an excellent place to visit as long as it's not too busy. On the smaller side compared to other aquariums I've been to but there's lots of small exhibits for the animals they take care of. Definitely recommend visiting on a weekday to avoid the crowds, and if you live in the area, maybe consider buying a yearly membership as it pays for itself after 2-3 visits and the single day passes are very expensive.
Millie M — Google review
A fantastic experience! The staff were really friendly, there is a lot of variety of animals and things to see, plus the facts to each exhibit are really interesting and fun to read! The gift shops are really cool, it is really easy to buy too many things! I would love to visit again
Peter S — Google review
A decently sized aquarium. I would say you can expect to spend up to three hours here. Be sure to catch the Sea Lion show and the 4D movie. As for parking, I was able to get a great spot by arriving about 40 minutes before opening. They actually let us in before the official opening time, which was a nice bonus. I found the aquarium more memorable than the one in Seattle. Being situated inside Stanley Park is also a big plus. As a heads-up, if you’re visiting with multiple people, it may be more cost-effective to purchase a Platinum Membership rather than individual tickets.
Johnson — Google review
One of the better attractions in Vancouver! There is a variety of marine and tropical animals to see, and it's good for young and old. You can easily spend most of the day here, taking in featured talks, wet lab to touch some of the sea life, 4D theatre, and more. There is food on site in case you didn't eat before coming here. It can get quite busy on weekends and holidays, so it is best to go early to beat the crowds, and when it isn't so hot. The 4D show changes every once in awhile, and you can check their website for more info. The tickets are pricey, so plan accordingly. Parking can also be hard to find, so it is best to go early.
Francis W — Google review
I went with my girlfriend and really enjoyed our time there! The sea lion show, otters, and 4D theatre were memorable. It was also cool to touch sea urchins and stars! Saw garden eels and axolotls too :)))
Dylan L — Google review
A great aquarium experience in Vancouver! Quite big in size with a lot of different environments and displays. A bunch to see, do, buy, eat, and explore. Expect to spend a good 2-3 hours or so soaking it all in and visiting each area. A great variety of animals, enclosures, and fun surprises. Decent amount of parking. Admission prices are a bit high in my opinion, be sure to look online for deals or discounts.

VanDusen Botanical Garden, established in 1975 on a former golf course, is situated across 55 acres in Vancouver's Shaughnessy neighborhood. The garden showcases over 7,500 plants and trees from seven different geographic regions. It features diverse greenery, flowers, art installations, a meditation garden, an Elizabethan maze, and cascading streams that create a serene atmosphere.
What a great place ! I didn't know what to expect after I've done several gardens in different cities but this was definitely an amazing one. It's bid enough for you to wander for a couple of hours, it has a restaurant, a café and you can even bring your own picnic basket or buy one there so you can enjoy a sunny afternoon with family or friends. The garden is very well maintained with different zones representing different countries and continents, I love that it reminded some of the plants I've seen during my travels. Overall I'd highly recommend paying them a visit!
Mikael B — Google review
What a fabulous place to visit. It was my last day in Canada with a late night flight. My friend suggested visiting these beautiful Botanical Gardens. Sadly, not visited by many tourists as it is off their transport routes, when you are restricted to time and transportation. The gardens were easy to find and good parking. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Toilets were clean and tidy. There is a cafe and restaurant on site. We only visited the cafe which is very good, with seating inside and out. A map is ideal for finding your way around the gardens. Laid out in zones and clearly marked, they are stunning. Fantastic variety of plants, trees and shrubs, plus water features. Sadly, due to flight times, we were only able to spend about 4 hours there, I could have spent much longer. Well worth the visit and allow yourself time, you need it.
Lisa G — Google review
The botanical garden is an absolute gem that feels like a peaceful escape from the city. Every corner is beautifully designed and filled with vibrant colors, from lush green trees to carefully arranged flowerbeds that change with the seasons. The air feels fresh and clean, and the gentle sound of birds and rustling leaves creates a calming atmosphere that makes you want to stay longer. The walking paths are well maintained, and there are plenty of benches where you can sit, relax, and simply enjoy nature. The greenhouse with exotic plants is especially impressive, offering a glimpse of tropical beauty even on a rainy day. What makes this garden truly special is the sense of care and attention to detail. Everything is arranged with love, from the layout of the plants to the small educational signs that tell interesting facts about each species. It is a perfect place for a quiet walk, a family outing, or simply to clear your mind and reconnect with nature.
Светлана З — Google review
First time in twenty years we visited the gardens again. We got the hours wrong and only had 30 minutes inside, but even that little amount of time was worth the entrance fee. This garden is amazing for fall colors and serenity. We will add it to our list of return places to go when in Vancouver. I only wish I would have gotten the hours right as I would have loved to spend half a day here.
James F — Google review
VanDusen Botanical Garden is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places in Vancouver. The gardens are huge, well-designed, and full of amazing plants, flowers, and trees from around the world. Every season has its own charm – colorful blossoms in spring, lush greenery in summer, vibrant fall leaves, and the magical Festival of Lights in winter. The walking paths are clean and easy to follow, perfect for a relaxing stroll or some great photos. Staff are friendly and helpful, and there’s also a nice little café and gift shop. If you’re looking for a quiet escape from the city with stunning scenery, this place is absolutely worth a visit.
Ebrahim G — Google review
If you are in need of a break from your busy life , this is the place. Beautiful gardens , wonderful lakes with beautiful fountains gently rippling the waters surface and if you are lucky like us you will see the Heron catch a fish. Just peace and tranquility. Wonderful manicured lawns , planted beds full of summer colour , fountains, grassy knolls and a restaurant. Four hours of bliss. A good walk round , plenty of labels to help identification, but not too far to ealk. You are never far from the path or the exit. Good coffee lovely herb and cheese scones too. A children's learning area and two restaurants complete the park. However the flowers and shrubs are the winners in my eyes. Endless colours , all beautifully planted to show their best sides. I could go back tomorrow and see something different . We'll done to the staff and the volunteers if I lived nearby I would like to volunteer too. Sorry about my feet in the video .
Mark G — Google review
Calm, quiet, and full of life. This garden is a year-round escape into nature’s beauty. The flora is breathtaking in every season, and when the rain holds off, it’s easily one of the best places to be in Vancouver. Peaceful paths, vibrant colors, and a sense of serenity that lingers long after you leave.
Prabhat P — Google review
Beautiful flower and very casual walk around. Great variety of trees and plants. With the shaugnessy restarant next door, it makes for a nice place to spend several hours and wander. Parking is free and it fees uncrowded even during busy times. Plenty of benches everywhere. Be advised during summer camp weeks the maze may be filled with lots of small kids who tear though it with high spirits and lots of excitement.

As time goes on, I have very mixed feelings about this gallery. It is the biggest one in the city but no student membership is available. I used to be a member, and can no longer afford it. The entry fee is exorbitant so I bought a year-long entry pass to make up for it... I also wonder about the curation. I liked the recent ceramics exhibit but that's because I love ceramics! I felt underwhelmed by the others. My previous visits ~4-5 years ago felt stronger than recent exhibits. Bring in more classical/traditional work, in addition to contemporary, to balance things out. I mean beyond Emily Carr (who is great but shown constantly).
Dean C — Google review
While I live near and visit Vancouver a lot, I hadn’t been to the Vancouver Art Gallery in almost 20 years. The cost to visit is rather high, given the size of the gallery. As a BC resident it was $29. We spent just over an hour visiting the 4 floors. The up escalators were all out of order at the time of visit, though there was an elevator for accessibility. The exhibits were well presented and maintained, though the building was super warm and lacked air flow. The Emily Carr exhibit was definitely the highlight for me.
Alyssa B — Google review
Visiting the art gallery for the first time was a truly wonderful experience. The exhibition featured a wide range of unique art pieces, including beautifully crafted pot sculptures in various styles and designs. I was especially fascinated by the ceramic sculptures, each one showcasing incredible detail and creativity. The gallery also displayed stunning paintings that captured different themes and cultures. Overall, it was an eye-opening experience that gave me a deeper appreciation for diverse forms of art and cultural expressions.

This is a nice gallery to visit if you have a couple of hours to spare while in town. It is a spacious place with exhibitions from different artists. The content changes during the year so it's good to keep an eye on the venue schedule. This venue is centrally located in downtown.

I must confess that I found myself somewhat underwhelmed. The impressive architectural structure did not seem to house anything particularly captivating or noteworthy. The contemporary and conceptual art installations, while present, did not fully engage my interest. Consequently, I would only recommend a visit if one has already experienced all other attractions Vancouver has to offer.
Gayane G — Google review
Really wish I had read reviews before visiting this place. Someone else described it as one of the least inspiring art museums and I would strongly agree. What made it so much worse was the fact they closed the main stairs, forcing us in loops to get to tiny back stairs. Then, where there were escalators, half didnt work - so time to backtrack around the building through the depressing exhibits of a single barrel of hay. I understand artists suffer for their art - but must I suffer as well?
K A — Google review
I met up with a friend for lunch - which was delicious- and a tour of the galleries. Emily Carr will for ever make might heart sing. Riopelle will never be my vibe. And though I try to under his work, I believe that he may have best been used to grace the cover of annual reports or novels and anthologies, before the varnish yellowed his pieces. I regret not spending the day with "Otani Workshop: Monsters in My Head", as everything is beautiful and poetic.

Live music bar
Bar
Lounge
Guilt & Co is a hidden gem in Vancouver's bustling Gastown neighborhood, offering an intimate underground space for live music, cocktails, and small plates. The venue has a cozy and dark ambiance that feels like a rogue cantina straight out of Indiana Jones. It's easy to miss if you're not looking for it, located beneath Chill Winston with a discreet entrance marked by a sandwich board and steps on the side of the building.
If you love live music and want a novel date night spot, this is the place to be :) Compared to other places such as Frankie’s or Water Street Café nearby, the cover is relatively more affordable ($7/ person per 45-minute set) if you plan on making this one of the stops (it racks up if you stay for both sets). Make a reservation and take advantage of the amazing happy hour menu they have- we arrived at around 6:30 with a reservation and got in without waiting, but by 6:45 the bar was packed with a long line outside for the 7pm show! Because it’s so busy, be prepared to get seated with other tables as well. Service was prompt and exceeded my expectations for a bar, and having some food with our drinks with a live show made it such a magical date night :) I would highly recommend their Tuna & Mango Tostada, it was so refreshing and so yummy I’m dreaming about it right now as I post the review 🥲🤤🤤 (It was so good I dived right in and finished it without even taking a picture 🤣)

One of my favourite placws for live music. They get the best bands. I also like that theres no reservations. That way if you make a last min decision to go its not a problem. Service could be better. Once you get your drink they pretty much leave you for the evening. The last time I went i had to ask our waitress 3 times for a food menu. 1 hr later we still didnt have one so I had to get uo and go find one. The meat and cheese board was phenominal phenomenal.

Beautiful live music and awesome vibes, some salsa dancing and wholesome atmosphere! We came for the cocktails, original and yummy, but we were welcomed with a lot more! Unexpectedly more expensive since you have to pay 7$ per set, but the vibes were worth the price

Bar
The Shameful Tiki Room, established in 2013, is a vibrant tropical-themed venue that offers Polynesian-inspired cuisine, exotic cocktails, and live music. With a focus on reviving the old school Tiki ambience of iconic lounges from the past, this 1,200-square-foot 50-seat restaurant and bar boasts an extensive menu of classic cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks.
Really friendly and personable bartenders! Designated Driver was one of the best and cheapest mocktails I’ve ever had. It’s not an especially unique tiki bar (I’ve been to many), but it’s still very immersive and fun. Nice and dark inside. If I ever come back to Vancouver, I’ll try the food here next time because it looked really good!
Xär B — Google review
Before coming in, I was heavily excited about checking this place out. There were no servers on sight to have us seated. So we helped ourselves and chose a table to sit at, no problem. After a while, we placed our order as well as enjoying the ambience and decor that surrounded us. The drinks were solid, because with that alone, I would give a 5-star rating. Our Pu Pu Platter arrives and unfortunately it was mediocre. The BIG thing was that the server DID NOT ask us if we had any food allergies. The menu also doesn’t describe other potential ingredients included in the platter because there were pineapples (I’m highly allergic to) in the salad where the ribs sat on top of. omg…I immediately/genuinely did not want to take another bite of the food anymore. I still left a tip even though they forgot to place our taco order that we asked for, but never have I ever experienced this kind of shock/scare. Maybe you will have a better experience than I did… :’( Dined in on 25/05/04

Came here early for a couple drinks. Chill vibe , smoke machines + sound effects later on. Very dark inside. Still easy to talk not super loud. Tried a few different drinks and all were tasty , I like the menu is is very descriptive and images of each of the drinks. My favourite was blue Hawaii , not blended but small chunks of ice. We didn’t try food other than chips + salsa , decent portion $9. Our server was efficient and made sure we always had a drink or asked if we want more. 2 hour time limit on tables.

What a place to be! It's one of the best cocktail bars out there. The vibes are impeccable, the cocktails are to die for! Service is great. Amazing place to have drinks with your friends, hands down! I love the tribal look they have for the place, such a vibe. Do yourself a favor and take a cab to this place because you'll leave turnt 🤣

Started with the Punch bowl , then Zombie and Pain Killer . The drinks are very good and pretty quick . I had the Edamame , Avacado and Crab and Red Curry for dinner with a Salad . My Salad was super clean and fresh and my dressing tasted healthy . I have food allergies and our Server was very helpful . I had zero allergic reactions and furthermore no bloating or any stomachs issues. I didn’t wake up with a hangover in the morning despite the buzz that I had the night before. The lighting is darker than most Tiki places but I don’t mind as they serve interesting drinks throughout the night with special effects . Next time I go I am taking a small flashlight and magnifying glass to see the menu . The service is good . Quick for how busy it is . Our server reminded us of the two hour turn around and she spoke so fast but I just think it was busy so nothing personal . When we asked if we can sit at the bar after there were mixed answers like they maybe wanted us to leave so there is room for those who made reservations to sit at the bar ? Not really sure , my husband asked the Bartender and he said we could stay but then someone told my husband we couldn’t so we left even though we were going to have more drinks . Again I don’t take it personally, I just think there was something going on that Staff was just trying to manage . Everyone was friendly , just very busy. I’m a Tiki enthusiast so I’m just grateful that the Shameful Room is in Vancouver. I definitely plan to go back . We had a great time .

We came here for a friend's birthday. It's a bit dark inside but it's a cool little place to go to. The food was good and reasonable for price.

The bartenders are friendly and drinks are fantastic. They have an unusual but very tasty painkiller. The Navy Grog was on point. Their house special Day of the Dead was unique and we recommend! I really enjoyed the veggie dumplings. I would pass on the crab dip as it was not very crab filled (perhaps they should transition to just artichoke). Fun ambience too! Check them out for sure if you are big into tiki.
Caitlin G — Google review
After over 10 years of visiting Shameful Tiki Room (Vancouver) with my significant other, I’m finally leaving a review. Long overdue for a place that’s become such an important part of our lives. This is the bar I actively reserve time off for. It’s not just a night out, it’s a full-on escape from reality. Booking a reservation is highly recommended to avoid disappointment, but even if you walk in on a busy night, the staff always go above and beyond to try and fit you in. Our favourite spot is “the throne,” and whenever I request it in the reservation, they do their best to make it happen. Little touches like that really stand out. From the moment you walk in and see the “please wait to be seated” sign (with a cheeky nautical cartoon font you might recognize), you’re transported. The ambiance is immersive (tropical music, flickering lights, surprise gong shows, and classic black-and-white TV clips). It’s theatrical in the best way. The cocktails are consistently phenomenal. They are made with freshly juiced fruits, high-quality in-house syrups (which you can buy, I use them at home), and top-tier garnishes (even the cherries are next level). In over a decade, we’ve never had a single off drink. The Mai Tai on Mondays is a steal at $10, easily the most authentic-tasting one in the Lower Mainland. As a rum connoisseur, their selection is incredible. From high-end labels like Facundo Paraiso, Ron Millonario XO, and Panamonte XXV, to unique Haitian Clarin rums. The food is reasonably priced and pairs well with drinks, making it perfect for casual snacking. That said, it’s the drinks that truly take center stage at this establishment. And yes, when it’s super busy, cocktails can take a bit longer, but I’ll take a carefully crafted drink over a rushed one any day. The bartenders are true pros, and even on packed nights, they keep things moving smoothly. The staff are exceptionally personable and friendly, and they ensure your water is always filled promptly. Looking forward to making many more great memories here.

Absolutely beautiful park! First stop on our Vancouver trip and it was well worth the beauty. Please take the time and spend the extra cash to drop into the greenhouse. It’s not expensive and the flowers are amazing. The entire garden is well kept and the artwork made with the flowers is incredible. My only recommendation would be to somehow change the water feature that’s no longer in use. Other than that 1000/10 spot to visit.

We wanted to spend some quality time together surrounded by the wonders of nature. Fortunately we decided on Queen E Park. We parked on Midlothian Avenue and walked over to the Duck Pond. Sadly it was just stinky mud, but the trail led us to the Large Quarry. It was breathtaking. We had to take a new picture after every couple of metres. Then we walked over to the Small Quarry for more gorgeous flowers and bushes. To finish, we walked up to the Conservatory level. From there you have great views of Vancouver and the surrounding mountains. There are even plaques that point out various mountain's names. Seasons in the Park is a fine dining experience with great views. There is lots of paid parking available if you drive up. We've been there several times and never get bored with the stunning display. This is MUST SEE!

Super interactive, exciting and fun experience! A must see in Vancouver. Beautiful sights of the city all around and lots of interesting, informative posts present showcasing the different attractions, monuments, green spaces and history of the city with some even outside of the city too! Also, when you go up the elevator to the main area you get to see the city through the windows which amplifies the experience.

Such a great attraction this is! Family friendly, informative and absolutely stunning views. We loved the information cards placed right by the view. Children enjoyed this experience more than the adults. The staff were very well trained, they kept the facility spotless and well organized.

First time visit here as visited Vancouver couple times. Great view for 360 degree view of all the directions of the city, in a sunny day. Drawback is they will close before sunset, so you cannot come for a night view. But probably they are worried about the safety in downtown for that.
Peter L — Google review
We didn’t get time to go to grouse mountain so decided to do the lookout. Cost is approx $44 for two. It was ok. Not much atmosphere at the top but there are markers for each site/building etc. it was cool being in the elevator outside. I wouldn’t say it’s a must do.
Tracey G — Google review
The Vancouver Lookout definitely lives up to its name—you get a mostly great panoramic view of the entire city. It’s a beautiful way to get your bearings and take in the skyline, mountains, and water all at once. That said, the ticket prices are pretty steep for what is essentially a quick experience. I give them bonus points for the thoughtful touch of having stepstools for little kids so they can actually enjoy the view too. I’ve done it once and it was lovely—but at that price point, I don’t feel the need to do it again. Worth checking off your list, but maybe not a repeat visit.

If you’re a first-time visitor to Vancouver or keen on getting a quick, immersive city overview—especially with different lighting by day and night—the Vancouver Lookout is worth a stop. For seasoned locals or those watching the budget, you may choose to simply admire the skyline from street-level rooftops or nearby drinking spots.

The Vancouver Lookout is an absolute must-do experience for anyone visiting this stunning city. From this unique vantage point, you can clearly see iconic landmarks like Stanley Park, the historic Gastown, and even Vancouver Island on a clear day. What makes this visit so special is not just the height, but the well-designed layout of the Lookout, providing ample space to walk around and take in every angle. The informative signs help identify key points of interest, enhancing the experience. We spent a good hour just soaking it all in, witnessing the dynamic interplay of urban development, natural beauty, and the bustling harbour. The glass elevator ride up is also a thrilling part of the experience. Whether you go during the day to see everything in crisp detail or at night when the city lights twinkle, it offers a different yet equally magical perspective. This Lookout

The Museum of Vancouver, located in Vanier Park between Kitsilano Beach and Granville Island, offers a fascinating exploration of the city's history and issues. With a strong collection of First Nations art and artifacts, this independent, non-profit organization aims to deepen understanding through stories and shared experiences. Catering to sub-teens and teens, the museum provides insight into early Vancouver history, from its First Nations past to the neon light phase of the 1950s.
I visited the Museum of Vancouver and really enjoyed it! The exhibits were interesting, well-designed, and full of local history and culture. That said, I was expecting something a bit larger - I thought I’d spend half a day there, but in reality, it took me about 2 hours to see everything. Right next to the museum, there’s also the Maritime Museum, which could be a nice addition to your visit. After that, you can take the ferry to Granville Island - a great place to explore the public market and local restaurants, browse shops with handmade goods. Overall, a lovely and educational stop, just be prepared for a shorter visit than you might expect.

Interesting local museum! Lived in the lower mainland my whole life but visited for the first time as it was included with a book talk I attended. Really enjoyed it and learned many valuable things. I had visited previously as the price seemed a little steep for the size of the museum. However, it’s well curated and has some growing and meaningful Indigenous exhibits, which was great to see.

A great visit! The featured chair exhibit was my favourite, I had no idea so much history could be shared from chairs! The permanent exhibits walk you through the decades, and are extremely interesting and beautifully organized and we'll put together to make a great experience. Highly recommend the visit!

My Dad and I enjoyed our visit to the Museum of Vancouver. We learned so much about the history of the indigenous people of the area and the history of the city of Vancouver and the people that built and make up this vibrant city. The museum itself is laid out in a logical manner between the galleries and is accessible. The galleries are well researched and organized. The art and photographs displayed definitely are great points of references to learn more and understand better the city of Vancouver. This is an excellent museum for an visitor to Vancouver to explore!

The Museum of Vancouver is a hidden gem that brings the city’s past, present, and future to life. From Indigenous history to contemporary urban culture, the exhibits are thoughtfully curated and visually engaging. What makes this museum stand out is how it connects local stories to broader social and cultural movements. You’ll walk away with a deeper understanding of Vancouver—not just as a place, but as a living, evolving community. It’s a peaceful and enriching stop, perfect to pair with a visit to the Space Centre.

A museum dedicated to the history and lifestyle of Vancouver city, it houses the items from yesteryears in chronically arranged way to give a peek of way of living in city through the periods. Entertaining and informative, recomoneded for choldrens and adults alike. There are vending machines downstairs but during my visit, none of them worked, taking payment but not dispensing and returning the amount. The desk was also not helpful in resolution, telling that if the item is not dispensed, the amount will surely refunded. There are no eateries around, nearest being 10~15 mins walk, so prepare accordingly. Also nearest public transport stops are 12 mins away. Parking is easy though. Washrooms are conveniently located and usable.
Basant S — Google review
Good local history museum, with special exhibits on rotation (we were there for a "chairs" exhibit). Perhaps a touch pricey for the duration of the stay (this tipped me from 5 stars to 4), but we enjoyed it all the same.
Brian B — Google review
My favourite exhibits (1900s-20s gateway to the Pacific; 1930s-40s boom, bust, and war; 1950s the fifties gallery) are, unfortunately, rarely - if ever - updated... understandably so. But that also makes subsequent visits to this museum difficult to justify. These spaces are also incredibly small, compared to other museums (especially, in the international arena). I adore museums, but I cannot say this is one that is worthwhile for people visiting Vancouver. Though, it can be meaningful if you live in Vancouver, just to gain an appreciation of our history. (I do not think the grumpy woman at admissions helped our most recent visit - she seemed far more concerned about getting off work in 30 minutes.)

With 50 taps to choose from, beer enthusiasts can savor a rotating array of brews while enjoying the rustic ambiance. The menu features locally sourced food, making it an ideal spot to unwind after exploring Vancouver's attractions.
Great atmosphere, selection of beers, music and cocktails. The service was quick and personable, Pouya is a really nice guy! Will be back as it is a pretty chill spot in the old part of Gastown. Speakeasy vibes.

It was my first time coming here kind of by accident. Went in right as they opened and there was a decent happy hour menu from 4-6. The beer selection was pretty good a ton of options on tap that I don’t usually see. Mixed drinks were good as well , especially liked the whiskey sour. The other one I tried was a blended mango margarita and it was just perfect not overly sweet. Also tried calamari and it was tasty but found the portion to be slightly small for the price. Service was super friendly and orders came out really fast.

We came to the Halloween party downstairs at Alibi Room last night and everything was absolutely amazing! The atmosphere was fun and energetic, and the whole service team was super attentive to every detail. We ordered a few cocktails along with Alibi’s incredible French fries — seriously one of the best I’ve ever had! Everyone in our group loved their drinks, crafted perfectly by the talented bartender. A special thanks to Pouya, our energetic server, who made our night even better and turned this visit into such a great experience. We’re already looking forward to coming back soon — highly recommend this place! 🎃🍸
Ethan M — Google review
Our friends recommended this place, but it seems to have changed ownership and unfortunately wasn’t quite what we expected. On the positive side, the sweet potato fries were perfection and the vegan spicy mayo was absolutely delicious. However, the “deluxe nachos” were disappointing—a small plate of chips with just a handful of cheese in the middle, very few toppings, and no dip (we had to ask, and were given mayo instead). The atmosphere also felt a bit off, with no music during the first half of our visit, and the service started off rushed but then shifted to being inattentive. There are definitely some highlights here, but with a few tweaks to the menu execution, atmosphere, and consistency of service, this could be a much stronger dining experience.

Went to the Halloween event last weekend, the event was lots of fun, hosts and entertainment were really good and well planned. Unfortunately I cannot say the same about the drinks, they charge cocktail price (I’m not against paying $20 for a good cocktail), but the bartenders clearly had no idea about how to mix and the ingredients were of terrible quality. We ordered mojitos which tasted like pure artificial lemonade mixed with soda (& no mint). We tried the featured Halloween black widow, and the bartender didn’t even bother to serve it in new ice and he served it with the same ice that he mixed it with (which was melted already). We have been at the alibi years ago and drinks were great, such a shame that it’s changed so much because it’s a really nice place.

I heard about this place on an LGBTQ app and it definitely doesn’t disappoint. It’s a chill, low key spot to meet and pick up guys, with a discreet bathroom downstairs. The “AirDrop game” here is hilarious: set your phone to receive, give yourself a flirty name, and you’ll start getting “below the belt” pics. The fun part is trying to guess who in the restaurant sent them. Let’s just it wasn’t too hard to scan the room for the only dark man there.. or was it? 😂 10/10 I’ll be coming back whenever the mood strikes

The Alibi Room used to be a destination restaurant when we visited Vancouver. We were super disappointed this time. Our server was very good, friendly and attentive. Beer was good but their beer list used to be incredible and has significantly dwindled. The food and atmosphere was the most disappointing. Food used to be creative and exceptionally delicious now bland and didn't appear to be house made like before. Specifically the veggie burger and fries.

Lounge
Restaurant
Tucked away on trendy Main Street in Vancouver, The Narrow Lounge is a hip and dimly lit prohibition-style bar that offers a glimpse into the past. The retro cocktails exude classiness while complementing the dive bar ambiance. This unmarked hideaway, known for its red light signaling when it's open, features an intimate backyard expansion with a laid-back tiki-style bar.
I missed this place twice trying to find it, but once I went in I was met with dim glowing lights, decorated walls and overall an awesome dark ambience. It's Halloween themed too which is a bonus. The area is not too big and the music was not too loud, in fact they were playing some pretty sick grungy music that I would have loved to catch the name of. The eats are very well priced and looked appealing, ranging from burritos to shareables. I enjoyed my cocktail and wish I could have gotten more. The service was amicable and really friendly! The bathroom was clean for my visit, and also had some artsy decorations. Overall, I really dig the style and design of this place. It stands out among the monotonous atmospheres of other run of the mill bars. I hope to bring more people here who would similarly appreciate cool sights and sounds.

Soo affordable and so fun to go to. I have come twice and enjoyed the inside and outside. Inside is low lighting, limited seating, nice spot for 2 people. The seating is mostly for two but can definitely work for four. Out doors there is some bar seating and a couple long picnic tables where 2-3 different groups can come to the same table. It is definitely popular and never empty but usually so far this is always somewhere available They have interesting liquors to try! Their cocktail menu is also mixed classics and fun stuff. Their food menu is so affordable and the portion is very good, honestly great place to bar hop. Just a note, I brought one friend who is sensitive to certain cheaper liquors and they struggled with their drink, no one else did.

The best cocktail bar in Vancouver. Their Hurricane drink is wicked, the tater tots w/ beef are amazing, it's a wonderful vibe and I loved my time here. Definitely a good spot to go to with friends, you won't regret it. Neat SF2 cabinet in the back as well.

Lovely little spot with a nice patio as well. We only stopped in for a drink. The atmosphere is cool, and while my drink was a bit too sweet for my taste, we'd like to come back — maybe during happy hour — to give it another try!

Man oh Man what an incredible evening well spent!!! Great service the energy is top notch. My personal recommendations would be to meet TJ(mixologist/bartender). This guy has magic portions stored up his sleeve if he comes by your table just ask him to whip you up anything he feels like at the moment. We had something called “what’s the thyme” the cocktail that has blueberries and his secret syrup gin we definitely had our minds blue-own. Can’t wait to go back to this place for the September Sangria thing. Ohh don’t forget there is no reservation so be there early it’s purely first come first serve. Cheers to TJ and crew this is one of my favourite places on my list

Good spot, I would visit again. The lavender gin fizz was delicious, they make the lavender vanilla syrup in house. The crunch wrap was a little bland but the cheesy tots hit the spot. Nice bartenders! Look for the red light just off Main on 3rd. I didn’t realize it apparently they have a back patio too!

One of my favorite dives in the city. They now do tacos and have an outdoor area in the back in the summer. Heads up that it... Doesn't smell great in there at times if you're sensitive to that. Usually busy and loud, but tight and enjoyable.

The Biltmore Cabaret is a hidden gem in Vancouver, offering a diverse range of entertainment from burlesque shows and punk bands to comedy acts and DJ sets. Nestled in the basement of a heritage building, this legendary music bar hosts both local and international artists, providing an intimate yet dynamic experience. With its retro charm, cozy atmosphere, and eclectic calendar of events, it's the perfect spot for indie music fans and those seeking a vintage nightlife experience.
Nice spot to watch a live show! I saw my friend's band perform here. Good sound and plenty of room. It's kept clean and the bartenders are quick with a drink. A great night. Would love to come back

Great small venue. It’s definitely older but has great vibes. One complaint I always have is that it gets quite hot inside to the point of sweating. Wish it had better ventilation. Also the ceilings could use a clean 😅 Great that I can always find free parking in the close by neighbourhoods.
Amy W — Google review
From an attendee perspective this is a great venue for sitting down events like a comedy show. But for a standing music concert its not the greatest because the stage it about one foot or so off the floor and so any view is blocked by cell phones haha
Raven — Google review
Staff have seemed nice every time I’ve been here. Not great for standing shows since the stage is so low. While it’s intended to make shows more ‘intimate’, the reality is unless you’re in the first few rows you’re not going to see much of anything, which doesn’t feel intimate at all. Drink pricing is outrageous, it’s basically stadium pricing. As someone who prefers to avoid alcohol, prices are still awful. I paid $7 or so after tax and tip for a glass of diet coke that was mostly ice. There’s thankfully a water station but it’s not enough to make up for it. I was talking about this place with a friend the other night and we concluded that every good show we’ve seen here was good despite the location, not because of it. I think this might be Vancouver’s worst concert venue.

Great venue for live music. Drinks are very expensive though, 1 can of Margarita $20! But KMOE was amazing!!!!
Donna I — Google review
Enjoyed a great comedy show here tonight but I went to the bar to buy a glass of wine for my friend and I. Due to supply issues related to the liquor strike, they were out of my friend's choice of white, and I got their last glass of red wine. I went back to our seats to ask my friend for another choice, which was cider. Back at the bar, they were out of cider. Finally, my friend came to the bar and decided on a can of mango margarita. The server handed me the debit machine with a total of $19.78, a $17.25 drink and a 15% tip she'd added before handing me the machine. I didn't want to potentially embarrass my friend by saying something so I just tapped but I'm not impressed. First, not impressed with the drink selection but it's not the bartender's fault I had to make three trips to the bar to get one drink. Second, not impressed with the price. What the hell? My 8 oz. glass of wine was only $10 before tax ($11.15 with). $15 before tax for one little can? Gouge. Third, tipping is optional. Literally, all the bartender did was show my friend the available drinks in the fridge behind her, pop open the can and hand me the debit machine. Fourth, I had already treated my friend visiting from out of town to the show and dinner and drove for an hour to pick her up. Wasn't expecting to pay almost $20 for a drink, especially in a basement dive bar. I usually tip 20% but my annual income is $18,000/yr, hovering under the poverty line. I don't appreciate someone helping themselves to my money for doing next to nothing. An annual minimum wage in BC is $29,000 part time, $37,000 full time. I have no idea how much bartenders make in tips but even if it's nothing they're making more than I am if they're working 30 hours a week. It's really a shame because it spoiled an otherwise perfect evening.
Jacquelyn J — Google review
I went to a live show last night. I happily paid $25 for my ticket to see Damsel, an excellent local hard rock band. Here are a few other observations about my experience: club soda: $6. Two Corona’s $34 (15% tip for bartender), that I shared with the Damsel bassist who recognized me from my touring days as the Tyrant drummer. I listened to two bands: sound for both was not professionally mixed. Not sure if it is poor quality PA equipment or the sound man? The mix did not do justice to either band. Yes, the PA Monitors are old but they use a good digital board, they should be able do a lot better. Vocals were waaay too dry (ever heard of delay?) And the drums sounded like card board boxes (try changing out the heads). Stage is excellent. Lighting is excellent. Dance floor excellent. The Biltmore should be one of the best places for live music in the city: It is not… for reasons that can be fixed. I likely won’t go back. And it seems others have made the same decision as the place was maybe 20 percent of capacity.

Fortune Sound Club, situated in the heart of Vancouver's Chinatown, seamlessly combines the area's historic ambiance with a modern and sleek setting. The club boasts an innovative design, eco-friendly features, and a top-notch Funktion One sound system. Once Mings Chinese Restaurant, the revamped space now showcases recycled materials such as bar and tabletops while also featuring locally made LED lighting and an HVAC system.
Just attended a concert tonight and it was a great venue! Very small but it had a good layout.

We came to Fortune for a bachelorette party, ready to celebrate — and instead got scammed and ignored. We paid $700 for a 3-bottle table, and they only brought out two. When we asked about the third, the manager casually said, “Yeah, I had the third sign ready… just didn’t bring it out.” What does that even mean? You knew we paid for it and just… didn’t feel like doing your job? And to top it off, our server wasn’t even busy — she was literally sitting at the table next to us drinking with some guys, fully ignoring us like we were invisible. She wasn’t off the clock — she just didn’t care. No apology. No fix. Just gaslighting and attitude from staff who clearly think they’re too cool to do the bare minimum. We planned this night to celebrate our bride — and left feeling disrespected and ripped off. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this place. Fortune is all flash, no class, and absolutely not worth your time, energy, or money.

I sometimes get invites for events here at fortune night club. They can be sponsored by companies and the service is absolutely fantastic. I always have great experiences here. The decor is up to date. It's very posh and modern. Capacity control is good and above all, it made me want to come back as a customer. Definitely a Vancouver staple for Vancouver nightlife! Cheers 🍻

Probably the worst venue for a concert. It's small and the stage is barely elevated which makes it not visible from the back half of the room. Coat check is right by the entrance which creates congestion as you enter the floor. The extra star is for the staff who got a system going to keep things moving, I was surprised how quickly I was able to enter. Due to the size it's probably much better for a club event than a concert. If you're coming to see an artist here, arrive early and stay as close to the stage as possible

I was able to see an incredible show by Georgias Mattiel here. What an awesome venue! The size is what you want for an intimate concert/show. Grapes & Soda is a cozy and intimate spot in Vancouver, offering a warm and relaxed atmosphere perfect for a date night. It prides itself as the city's first natural wine bar, featuring an ever-changing selection of carefully curated small plates such as local cheeses, charcuterie, and delightful desserts. The 30-seat space boasts stripped-back minimalism with dark walls and bare bulbs, creating a charming ambiance that doesn't take reservations.
This bar has officially made it to my list of favourites. We stopped by last night for a drink and dessert, and it did not disappoint. The warm chocolate cookie with roasted coconut ice cream was absolutely delicious, and my cocktail was both creative and full of flavour. I also tried my husband’s feature soda cocktail, it was refreshing and perfectly balanced. We’ll definitely be back, especially since the featured cocktails change often. The selection of scotches, whiskeys, gin, and other spirits is impressive, and the service was warm and welcoming. A great spot all around!

Charming, intimate cocktail bar with daily features and small plates. The Red Door cocktail was a standout—layered, balanced, and delicious. Loved the beef croquette and sablefish too. Portions are small but high quality. No happy hour, but worth it. Great spot for creative drinks. Highly recommend booking ahead!

We had a group of 5 walk into this cozy, intimate bar without a reservation and the staff was very accommodating in finding a way to get us sat! I am so glad it worked out because this ended up being our favorite bar we went to in Vancouver! All the drinks we drank were wonderful. The natural wine selection was well curated, the cocktails were delicious, and their homemade cocktail sodas were a unique (and yummy) pair of drinks that really stood out. I had two drinks at this establishment that were unlike anything I’ve ever drank before: One being one of their soda-cocktails and the other being their cocktail with charcoal in it (I can’t remember the name). I can’t recommend this place enough, go and try it (but try and get there early or make a reservation)!

I thought the space was super cool when walking in. It was cozy and such a nice vibe. I only got one drink but thought it was pretty nice, I heard it is what they are known for, I got the bottled Soda cocktail. It was tasty and flavourful and it went down super smoothly! When I come back to Vancouver and want a place for a drink I’ll be sure to visit again!

Love this place! First time here and it felt like a FIND! My dining partner thought so too. It was recommended by a friend who knows Vancouver, so I shouldn't have been surprised. The daily cocktail I had (they had two on the boards) was one of the best drinks I have ever had and I have confidence that's likely going to be true with most drinks I will likely get here in the future. The food was unique in content and match ups. I loved the tempura corn, the melon appy, the heirloom tomatoes, and the melon dessert. All of them had interesting additions. I could go on but don't have time to write as much this time. My dining partner requested more servers please. It was packed by the time we were leaving and it seemed like it was just one server. But she rocked and I think they just did have as many reservations since it was rainy earlier so it might have been unexpected.
Alexis S — Google review
It’s a cute spot and I really enjoyed the wine along with the olives! The reason why I wouldn’t necessarily give this place a 5 star was because I wasn’t as fascinated with the food options, it was a very tiny spot and the kitchen is very close to the tables so our eyes began stinging after an hour from the steam and cooking oils. Would recommend to try for those who haven’t ever been, but not my favourite spot.

The Vancouver Seawall is a picturesque 14 to 17.5-mile waterfront path that winds through the heart of the city, including Stanley Park and various neighborhoods, parks, and beaches like Kitsilano Beach Park and Coal Harbor. It's perfect for couples looking for a scenic stroll or bike ride with plenty of opportunities to relax at nearby restaurants. This stone wall not only prevents erosion but also provides an uninterrupted pathway for walking, jogging, cycling, and skating along Vancouver's stunning natural landscape.
It doesn't matter if you are a tourist or a local for many years, going to the seawall for a walk, run or ride is always a nice experience. One of the best views of downtown, surrounded by nature and with good structure (available washrooms, some benches to relax and enjoy the view, parking lots, etc). I reccomend that you do the entirety of the seawall by bike at least once so that you can enjoy the different views and places, like downtown, north van, the mountains and the beaches.

Trail Series, Part 40 Running was never meant to be easy, so many runners choose a phrase to help motivate them. Some of my favorites include: “No matter how slow you go, you are still lapping everybody on the couch”; “I don’t run to add days to my life, I run to add life to my days”; “The miracle isn’t that I finished. The miracle is that I had the courage to start”; “My sport is your sport’s punishment”; “This isn’t sweat, it’s liquid awesome”; and “Do it for the post-run snack”. It was during a recent run along the Stanley Park Seawall Path in Vancouver, Canada, that I discovered a different motivational technique. Rather than repeating a single phrase to keep you going, how about excitedly striding from one motivational expression to another? You see as this trail winds itself around magnificent Stanley Park, it is replete with benches adorned with a seemingly endless number of deeply personal plaques that broadcast both remembrances and some pretty keen life advice. I stopped more than 150 times during my run and I’d estimate that I photographed only 50% of the benches that are available to enjoy. 🤯 My favorite plaques include: “What a beautiful difference one single life made”; “To the world you were just one, to me you were the world” 🥹; “She lived for those she loved, and those she loved remember”; “How small a part of time we share”; “People and places have touched me so, left a mark on my mind, heart & soul. Thank you Lord, it’s been a great ride”; “Loving Masterchef who taught how to savor the flavors of life”; and “Just a Godly man who so loved his four wonderful daughters”. This outstanding trail is approximately 6 miles long, flat, and entirely paved. It features numerous dramatic curves that create excitement to discover what might be revealed just around each corner. Those with mobility issues will find it extremely accommodating and a separate lane for cyclists creates a safe path for all outdoor enthusiasts. It is well traveled during the day, and although the buddy system is always recommended, it isn’t necessary in this instance. And that’s…Henry’s Take. #trailseries #stanleyparkseawallpath

This is the spot highly recommended to get the best downtown Vancouver skyline views from. The spot is easily accessible by foot, on bicycle, or by driving on a vehicle. The views both at sunrise, during the day, and at sunset are really worth the visit. There are quite a few other landmarks and attractions on this side of the Stanley Park as compared to the other side. A paid parking lot is close by, while on foot this point is barely a 15 minute walk from the closest bus stop. A must visit spot whenever in downtown Vancouver.

The seawall is always a joy to explore—whether on foot, bike, or a casual jog. It features some of the most scenic views of downtown, framed by lush greenery and waterfront. The path is well-equipped with restrooms, benches, and parking, making it an easy and comfortable outing. I suggest biking the full loop at least once to take in the diverse views—cityscape, North Shore mountains, ocean, and beaches all in one ride.

Canada Place is one of those spots in Vancouver that instantly makes you pause and take it all in. With its iconic white sail design against the waterfront, it’s as photogenic as it gets. The promenade gives you sweeping views of the harbor, the North Shore mountains, and the constant movement of seaplanes taking off — a scene that feels uniquely Vancouver. It’s especially beautiful around sunset when the city lights start to glow and the mountains fade into silhouettes. Walking along the pier feels calm yet vibrant, with locals jogging, tourists snapping photos, and cruise ships occasionally docked nearby. The atmosphere is lively without being overwhelming, and the fresh sea breeze adds to the charm. Inside, there’s a mix of exhibitions and cafés, but honestly, the real magic is outside. Tip: Go in the late afternoon for the best light and fewer crowds. If you’re into photography, bring a wide-angle lens to capture both the sails and the skyline. And don’t skip the “Canadian Trail” along the west promenade — it’s a short but scenic walk that tells a story about the country. Canada Place may be touristy, but it’s also the kind of place that reminds you why Vancouver is loved for its balance of city and nature.

Last week was my first cruise and was pleasantly surprised how easy and efficient it was at Canada Place to drop off our luggage and proceed to get on board our ship. We walked by the day before our ship left to get a lay of the land (walking down toward the luggage drop off) and ended up taking an Uber the day of (overpackers, lol) and got down to the drop off very quickly.

A beautiful building and a must see place when visiting Vancouver. There is a hotel, convention center and other things but we go there for the beautiful views. There is a cruise ship terminal and you might see a ship docked there. You can see north and west Vancouver. There is port nearby that you can see ships being unloaded. There are benches around and the walk is beautiful by the water. The views of the city during daylight and at night are amazing. There are restaurants if you need to eat.

Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden, located in Vancouver's historic Chinatown neighborhood, is a serene urban park designed according to Taoist principles. Crafted by 53 Chinese master craftsmen, this garden is a replica of a classical Ming Dynasty Chinese scholars' garden and the first of its kind outside of China. The garden features carefully arranged water, plants, and rocks shipped from China to create an authentic experience.
Quiet & lovely garden in the center of the city. Scavenger hunt for kiddos, plenty of lush bamboo & maples, old bonsai trees & koi ponds. Cafe had neat original artwork for sale. Live classical Chinese musician played in the courtyard and incense wafted while we explored and played with the Buddha boards. Free tea samples and awesome gift shop. Definitely worth it. Easy location too, fun walking around Chinatown.

This is a beautiful and relaxing Classical Chinese Garden. We visited on a recent trip. It was $16 to enter as an adult. Inside we could enjoy the walk and relaxing atmosphere. They offered free tea and there was a room with a few traditional Chinese activities to learn or try. The Garden neighbours a park by almost the same name. The Park is free to enter, and if you were just looking for a taste of the experience, you could do that at no cost. The Garden looks over the pond that is shared by both the paid garden and the free park. Spent about 1 hour total between the 2. The exit is through a lovely gift shop.

It’s a calm and pleasant spot in an otherwise noisy town, but since it’s part of an open-entry park, the house itself doesn’t really justify the ticket price. Inside you’ll only find some Chinese-style furniture—unclear whether authentic or just styled to look old—arranged in a very bare interior with an equally plain garden. If you’ve ever seen original Chinese homes, you’ll find this one strikingly empty; if you haven’t, it may give you a very basic idea of how they look. The most interesting moment had nothing to do with the house at all: I watched a heron catch a fish from the pond right in front of me. It was extraordinary, something I had never seen so close before. That alone was beautiful. Otherwise, don’t bother paying for the entrance. Just walk behind the statue and you’ll enter the park for free. Nothing inside is worth your time.

Visited June 2025. During our walk around Chinatown, we came across this garden. We walked through a store and out the back door and ended up here. This was a great surprise in an overall depressing situation in the area. The garden is very peaceful to walk around and take in nature right in the middle of the city.

A peaceful place to soothe your peace, I visited the park and classic garden (entry fee) . I came here a few days after my dad's funeral. This has serenity away from the city life beyond the walls.

This place was so cute to stop in while exploring Chinatown. A little oasis in what is kind of a rougher part of the city. We just did the public portion, not the ticketed part, but we saw plenty of lovely botanicals and hidden paths and picture spots. Definitely worth a walk!!

This is not just a garden, this is a monument to Chinese culture. A pure diamond in the heart of Vancouver. A safe place to rest and relax if you need a break from the city. It gives you the feeling to enter a bubble full of positive energy. Tea was great, the staff was more than happy to help you throughout the visit. What an amazing experience 🙏🏻

Beautiful mature Chinese garden, well designed. Very popular place in the Chinatown area. A wonderfully designed walled garden, an oasis in the middle of the city. Maintenance is pretty decent. Worth the price of admission.

Bacchus Restaurant & Lounge, located within the Wedgewood Hotel in Vancouver, offers a European-inspired menu and a charming atmosphere. The restaurant features ornate decor with luxurious furniture imported from Venice by the founder, Eleni Albania. Guests can enjoy live piano performances in the lounge while savoring cocktails, martinis, wine, and small bites. Additionally, Bacchus provides private dining rooms suitable for intimate gatherings or small meetings.
What a charming and elegant place to enjoy live music over fantastic food and drinks. The steak was rich and tender; the salmon was delicate, fragrant, and cooked to perfection. The dessert, arrived airy and warm, accompanied by a dollop of house-made vanilla bean ice cream. We were impressed with everything and will definitely be coming back; ideal for date nights and anniversaries.

Our family had an incredible experience at Bacchus Restaurant during our stay at the Wedgewood Hotel. We enjoyed both breakfast and lunch here, and every moment was exceptional. The food was outstanding—beautifully presented, bursting with fresh flavors, and deserving of its Michelin mention. Standout dishes included the perfectly crafted eggs benedict for breakfast and the pasta at lunch. They also have kids menus, which were a hit with our little guys. The service was impeccable, with the staff, including Constantine, took great care of us. The elegant yet cozy ambiance elevated every meal, making Bacchus a highlight of our Vancouver trip. We can’t wait to return! Highly recommend for anyone seeking a top-tier dining experience.

Visited for a birthday dinner recently and was impressed! The service was great and the ambiance of the restaurant is beautiful and very upscale - you'll enjoy it with parties of all sizes. There is a diverse menu with a broad variety of options to suit all tastes - the seafood platter and creme brulée for dessert were personal favourites. Definitely worth visiting for your next fine dining experience!

Everything at Bacchus was exceptional — the warm atmosphere, attentive service, and the chef’s personal touch made the evening unforgettable. The chef went above and beyond to make our meal feel special, even bringing us small bites to sample after noticing I wasn’t comfortable trying the raw seafood. It was such a thoughtful and genuine gesture that showed how much care goes into every guest’s experience. Our waiter was wonderful, the food was incredible, and the ambiance was perfect. We left feeling so cared for — Bacchus is an absolute Vancouver gem.

Ok... this is our go to for a relaxing, cozy, great service, and quality food! Thanks Raymond for taking great care of us when we visit! It is a bit pricey but I feel it is worth it. From loose leaf tea, homemade jams to great quality breakfasts. We get the full American breakfast and omelet. Make sure to get clarity about the parking, there was some confusion with the front desk and we ended up having to pay the valet fee eventhough we parked the cars ourselves.

Such a quaint place with amazing decor. Went for happy hour on Friday, sat in the Bacchus lounge at a beautiful velvet booth. Reservations recommended during summertime. Drinks were delicious but when we got our separate cocktail bills, they were not correct, I had a HH Margarita that was rang up at regular price & a glass of beer was added to my bill. Server made the corrections to our bills, mine went from $55 to $35 always double check your bill before you pay. Server did apologize though

An evening to remember. We booked a table at Bacchus Diner to celebrate my mom's birthday — and it truly felt royal. I’ve dined in many places around the world, but the level of service and the quality of food here really impressed me. We ordered the seafood platter, oysters, steaks, and salads — everything was absolutely top-notch. Fresh, delicious, perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. Special thanks to our server, Franklin — his service was simply unbelievable. You don’t see him, you don’t hear him, yet everything appears right on time, gracefully and effortlessly. That’s true fine dining service at its best. And, of course, the cake... It was made especially for us by Ruslana Himenko (ruslana_cake) — and it was the crown of the evening. Not only was it stunningly beautiful, but incredibly delicious too. My mom said, "This is truly royal." That’s exactly how it felt. Bacchus Diner didn’t just serve us dinner — they created a warm, beautiful memory we’ll cherish for a long time. Thank you to the entire team for making everything so special.

Nestled in the heart of Vancouver, Science World is a captivating destination for families and young explorers. This iconic geodesic dome is brimming with interactive science exhibits that cater to children from toddlers to early teens. With engaging displays like the ever-changing Medieval Mayhem and the permanent Eureka! physics gallery, kids can immerse themselves in hands-on learning experiences. The unique Kidspace area specifically designed for little ones aged 1-3 ensures even the youngest visitors have a place to play and discover.
Lots of fun, plenty of things to do to keep kids entertained. Could do with more hand sanitizer about the place because everyone is touching everything, but it's there if you know where to look for it. Pretty good food options too! You can get a stamp for re-entry if you'd prefer to have lunch elsewhere though.

This place was amazing 👏 So many hands on things to do. We went with an 8, 7, 6 & 3 year old, they all enjoyed a full afternoon there. Admittedly the adults also very much so enjoyed themselves. We went during the week so it wasn't busy at all, that was nice. Now we could have spent HOURS in the massive Lego area!! But I did move the children along 😆 We spent 3 hours, again when not busy that was the perfect amount of time. We've been to science museums in Winnipeg, Regina, and in the states, this so far was the best!

I went to the Cirque Masquerade Ball Halloween Party held at/in Science World. At first, I was totally amazed that such an event could be held in the Science World, based on the size of the event. However, when I attended the event, I realized how big Science World facility truly is. It was a super-amazing venue that seemingly had no difficulty whatsoever to accommodate such a big event. It is such a beautiful facility that accomodated such a large event. I enjoyed meeting several new people, that were very friendly and outgoing similar to myself. I highly recommend it as an awesome place to go to events or venues. I look forward to attending more events that might be held there.

This is an awesome place for kids! A huge amount of interesting things to see and do. Be prepared to answer thousands of questions. They have a great playground with a water area and other things to play with, appropriate for different ages. Most of the exhibited objects are interactive and can be touched and moved. We usually attend this place once a year as our kid grows, but if you live nearby, it's great to have a membership and spend more time inside.

I had always heard great things about Vancouver’s Science World, so we came with high expectations — and it did not disappoint! The exhibits are fun, interactive, and educational. My son spent the whole day exploring with endless enthusiasm. A fantastic place for families with kids — highly recommended!

Science World — the giant shiny golf ball that Vancouverites pretend is an educational hub but secretly visit just to poke buttons and spin wheels like overgrown toddlers. It’s a paradise for kids, sure — they run around with wide eyes and sticky hands, discovering the wonders of human anatomy and physics. Meanwhile, adults try to look intellectual while discreetly racing toy cars powered by wind turbines. The exhibits about the human body are fascinating — nothing like realizing how many ways your organs can betray you to make you appreciate science. Between the illusions, experiments, and the occasional “Did you know?” that makes you question your life choices, Science World is both enlightening and humbling. In short, it’s the perfect place to remind yourself that you don’t actually understand gravity as well as you thought you did.

Restaurant
L'Abattoir is a popular restaurant located in the historic Gastown area of Vancouver. The industrial-chic setting provides a unique atmosphere for enjoying Pacific Northwest cuisine with a French influence, complemented by craft cocktails. Chef-owner Lee Cooper, who has worked at Michelin-starred restaurants in the U.S. and UK, leads the kitchen. The restaurant has received numerous accolades from various prestigious lists and guides, solidifying its reputation as one of Canada's best dining establishments.
Pricey, but worth every penny. Each dish is absolutely extraordinary and packed with flavour. Here’s a tip: they have happy hour drinks and appies that come at a great value. The baked truffle mussels are the best I’ve ever had. The bartender and staff were wonderful.

An absolute gem in the heart of Gastown! L'Abattoir delivered an exceptional dining experience from start to finish. We opted for the Chef's Tasting Menu, and it was a spectacular journey. Each course was thoughtfully crafted, beautifully presented. The ambiance is intimate and chic, with a vibrant energy that makes it feel special without being stuffy. To top it all off, the service was impeccable. Our servers were attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm, guiding us through the menu and ensuring our evening was flawless. L'Abattoir is a must-visit for anyone looking for a good dining experience in Vancouver.

Great fine dining restaurant in the heart of gastown. We went there to celebrate our anniversary and the restaurant gave us complementary champagne to mark the occasion. Very nice of them to do so. We ordered the bread basket, tuna crudo, octopus, duck, steak Diane and the strawberry and cream for dessert. For drinks we got the shake senora and don draper which were nice. The best appetizer was definitely the tuna crudo. Both mains were delicious too and the dessert is a must get. Total came out to around $270 before tip. Definitely on the pricier side but we had the perfect amount of food. Service was great and we’ll definitely come back!

Solid upscale restaurant. Made a reservation in advance and was seated immediately. I ordered the pork jowl confit $32, wild pacific halibut $53, and a glass of sauvignon blanc $16. Food is high quality and all the ingredients and flavors were well thought out and meshed well together. Portions and prices felt reasonable. Service was pretty good too. I requested for no added salt or butter, and received a very salty fish, but they gladly exchanged it and brought the new dish out rather quickly. They have a sommelier as well. Very nice restaurant. Quiet, a little dark, intimate setting. Indoor dining only, bar and table seating. I recommend this place
Tim — Google review
Husband and I went for a date night and had the chef's menu. It was excellent. The octopus and the tomato salad were standouts. The halibut was cooked well too, as was the lamb dish. We spent $140 each for the chef's menu (without drinks or service charge) which we thought was good value. We left very full! The desserts were tasty too but the fizzy lemonade one was unexpectedly amazing! Tapioca balls, fizzy lemon, vanilla ice cream, blueberry and raspberry granita... It was such a fun surprise! Service was impeccable and they gladly accommodated my weird kidney transplant food requirements. A must visit.

This place is a can’t-miss—pure class. I sat at the bar for happy hour, and their $10 cocktails are a fantastic deal. The oysters are a must-try, no exceptions. The bartender was friendly, knowledgeable, and offered great suggestions on what drinks to try
Alex C — Google review
We tried the seasonal chef’s menu last week. I was surprised by the presentation of the steak tartare, which appeared as tuna sushi. It tasted really good! I picked the Wild Pacific halibut even though I’m not a big fan of fish. The fish was smooth in texture and went very well with the beurre blanc. I ordered a mocktail, which was quite refreshing, as I had a wine tour that morning, so no more alcohol for me😆
Candy C — Google review
Heard really great reviews about this restaurant and came here for dinner as a back up plan, but left knowing I probably won't return. The vibes here are nice but the menu is lacking in options and portion size. Personally had the Heirloom Tomato Salad, Pork Jowl Confit, and the Wild Pacific Halibut (as pictured) to myself. All dishes were tasty and cooked really well but I was so disappointed my halibut was served barely lukewarm - maybe my dish was cooked faster and the kitchen waited for all our table's dishes to finish before serving them together, but my plate was room-temp-cold, so it tasted like it just waited out in the open (ie. not warmed under a heat lamp). The halibut was cooked and seasoned really well though, no bones. With regards to my comment on portion size, perhaps I have a large appetite or I came post-hike (4-hour difference from my last meal) and was just starving, but I left still feeling hungry after my 3-dish meal. The menu is all a-la-carte only and not filling at all, but that's not the restaurant fault. Despite my disappointment in the food, our server was really nice. Unfortunately, she spoke so softly and too quickly that I almost felt rude asking her to repeat what she said after every few sentences. Aside from that, she was quite prompt (ie. we didn't feel like we had to wait and flag her) and recommended menu items with positive enthusiasm. Other restaurant staff were also really cordial which we appreciated. There is another French restaurant within walking vicinity of here that was more favourable.

One of the best Michelin star meals I've ever had overall in terms of value, quality of food, service, and dining time. The high quality and unique flavors of the food were big standouts. There was not a single bad course and I feel like it progressively got better. Service was excellent. They were very prompt with removing finished plates, bringing the next course, and refilling water. Finished 9 total courses (1 complimentary dessert) in just less than 2 hrs. Very efficient. Sommelier was very good at recommending and letting you try wines. For $154CAD for just the food, it's a steal. Small restaurant. Not 5 but 6 stars. Highly recommend

Came here for an anniversary dinner. Truly a creative and well-executed menu and the level of detail was immaculate. The space is smaller than we thought it would be on the inside but it made for a more intimate experience. Also appreciated how there was ample space between tables - I dislike when I feel part of the conversation next to me. Service was attentive and professional as expected but nothing out of the ordinary. Only removing one star as there were a couple of courses that weren’t bad by any means but were also not memorable. However, the courses that were good were VERY good. A special mention for their bread! We were very tempted to ask for another round but we weren’t sure if that was something they would accommodate. Our favourites were the Cheeseburger 2050, the Seafood Lottery, and the cacio e pepe in Don’t Steal the Bunny. The dessert courses were both incredible. I will say though that being served treats on the bottom of a shoe (albeit fake) was a little off-putting, but it didn’t take away from the taste. Cocktails were also good, we tried three different ones and even ordered one of them again. Definitely not an affordable dinner at $150 per person for the set menu alone, but I can confidently say it was worth it and that the price wouldn’t deter me from returning. Would love to return for the next version of their menu.
E S — Google review
This was our first michelin experience, and boy was it a fun and interesting dining. AnnaLena has a set menu, and we opted for the more expensive caviar and wagyu upgrade. Dishes started great and eventually got a bit too heavy and savory towards the main. I wish there was a break between the savory dishes with perhaps a refreshing and light salad dish. That would have been a solid 5 stars. The service and atmosphere was however top notch. Desserts were very delicious as well. Highly recommended for a special night out with your loved ones.

Celebrated my boyfriend’s birthday at AnnaLena and had an amazing dinner! Got the wine pairing and it honestly made up a huge part of the experience, would 100% recommend. The service was truly exquisite, the timing of everything was just perfect. Shoutout to our server James, who was extremely knowledgeable about every course and wine he was serving. The only thing that was a let down was the 4th course (zucchini sticks), neither of us felt it was comparable to the other courses. My boyfriend couldn’t even finish half of it. My personal favourite bits were the charcoal pork pluma in the 3rd course, the corn puree in the 6th course, and the 5th course as a whole! Overall, very pricey but worth a try!
Veronica A — Google review
Amazing dinner and experience! Highly recommend the wine pairing with your meal. We very much enjoyed our dinner here at AnnaLena! It was a fun and whimsical menu that was delightful. To our surprise the meal would start with a twist on a cheese hamburger. We were questioning why the meal would start with such a strong flavor profile... But the wine pairing and everything else that came after made it work magically. They kept us on the toes from the beginning to the end. Kudos to the staff and chefs! Be forewarned the flash on the Polaroid camera 📸 is very bright (inside sneak peek to a surprise (if you are celebrating something).

Amazing food and service. Easily one of the BEST dining experiences I've had (not just in Vancouver but overall). Each dish was complex but perfectly executed and very well balanced in terms of flavors. Each dish left me craving for more. AnnaLena is worthy of their Michelin star. I'll definitely be back.

We went here for an anniversary dinner. Upon entering the restaurant, the front lady was very hospitable and warm, offering to take our coats and provided me with a purse hanger for the table. Our server, T then came, introduced himself and said he would come back to take drink orders and explain the menu to us, but was preoccupied socializing with the table next to us for a good 10-15 minutes while we were left waiting to order drinks. The food was decent, the appetizers (especially the bread and temperature gradient [quite surprising as I've never ranked vegetables high]) and the cryocookie dessert were outstanding, but the savoury/meat dishes were average at best, with the lamb being incredibly disappointing that I couldn't even finish it. Our server spent most of his time with the table next to us, chatting up a storm, which was rather distracting. Most dishes were actually brought by a different server than T as he was busy chatting away, the other table next to us was mostly ignored as well, as T was at his preferred table. Overall, decent, but not worth the price, and not on par of other Michelin restaurants.

Nestled in the heart of Gastown, Pourhouse Restaurant offers a unique experience with its century-old warehouse setting and a 38-foot bar. The venue exudes an old-world charm with its reclaimed Douglas Fir wooden bar, gold leaf details, and cheerful waistcoated bartenders. It's known for its creative cocktails, seasonal fare, and one of the best burgers in the city.
we came here very late, 40 mins before closing but they still let us stay for longer (even after it closed!) and service was still so patient and kind. the scotch egg was really phenomenal, ESPECIALLY the aioli it came with. it was slightly spicy, super tangy and salty and sweet and had a hint of paprika, and it was just so addicting. the pourhouse burger was also really great — a bit small for the price, but really high quality. the pork belly was crispy and crackling and had a smoky flavour, and the patty was so thick, tender, and juicy it was literally dripping. the caramelized onions were a bit cold though. i think the burger for per se social corner is better, but this was still fantastic. the truffle potato tots are a MUST get here — they’re super crispy and dense with potato (not airy) and you actually get quite a lot for a side. the apple crumble was very disappointing though. it wasn’t very “crumble”, and mostly just apples. the ice cream melted fast and i honestly didn’t love it.

Some fantastic vibes, this place has got. The place has got some seriously well thought out decor and menus. It was a journey going through the menu and just looking around the place and the people. Oh and the smells! The cheeseburger randomly spawned at the table next to us and the aromas practically forced us to order one. The drinks were well made and came in fun glassware too!

My husband and I had a fantastic evening here. The Cuban cocktails were top-notch, as was the Cuban sandwich (it had another name on the menu, but I can't remember it). I just have to thank the cameraman for his great service, and the chef and bartender; they did an excellent job. This is coming from a Cuban who loved spending a little time on her beautiful island. Also, thank you for the music. 🥰

Came here for happy hour before a show. We decided to come here because of the good reviews, but was disappointed. We had: Single Smash Burgers ($10) -The phots that we saw, looked nothing like the ones we had. The one we had reminded me of a McDonald's cheeseburger, so I'm a bit confused as to someone saying it was the best burger they had. Although I'm not too sure if the happy hour burger may be completely different from the burger on their regular menu. Truffle Tots ($12) - Super cheesy and quite the Truffle taste on the cheese. Beef Tartare ($16) - This was not part of the happy hour menu, but it was worth a try for us. The beef was diced in bigger chunks, but rather bland.

I often come to Gastown in search of good food, and usually I’m never disappointed — but this time was the exception. We were just looking for a quick bite before heading downtown to catch a musical. The food was… okay, nothing too exciting. The burger ranked somewhere between McDonald’s and A&W. Maybe this place is more about the drinks than the food. Either way, it did the job of filling us up!
Ann C — Google review
Solid atmosphere, especially when they have live music! Great playlist otherwise. Food was good. Not out of this world but good takes on classic dishes and surprisingly cheap happy hour prices. Service was under average. No smiles, on the longer edge of wait times, charged extra for a few thin slices of bread. On top of that, the lowest tip option is at 18% on top of taxes. Let's just say the $30 dollar tip left a sour taste in our mouths.

The establishment has gained recognition in various food awards and competitions. The menu features dishes made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients, including sustainably harvested seafood from the Fraser Valley and the Pacific region.
What an amazing Thai restaurant with incredible food. We went on a Saturday night for the family style dinner. Added on some additional items like dumplings, roti and pad Thai. The food is well portioned out for regular eaters having the family style, but as someone going in hungry was glad to have added on. All dishes we had were exceptional. Well balanced, good flavours and beautiful presentation. Purchased the cook book on the way out so we could try doing more at home.

We were a party of 6 so they made us get the family style dinner package. The food was good, especially the soups. The desserts were also great. Favorites were Wagyu salad, pork cheek and the sable fish. But I wish we had more flexibility over what we could order. It didn’t seem worth it for $92 plus 20% guaranteed tips for a large party. Would eat here as a smaller party.

Had high hopes for a Michelin rated restaurant. But it was disappointing unfortunately the $92 per person set menu was just mid. The snacks were very pretty, but strange tasting. The halibut hot and sour soup and the Wagyu beef salad were good. The curry and other dishes weren’t bad but if you go to your local Thai restaurant, you can get the same quality for half the price. Hubby ordered a second beer, but never got it. We were served three different kinds of bite-size dessert. Rice pudding one was the best. The other two were just OK. Since we were celebrating hubby‘s birthday, they gave us a free dessert with a candle on it. That was a very sweet and thoughtful gesture.

This is a modern Thai restaurant with beautifully presented dishes. However, many of the items tasted very similar, and a few were overly salty, which made the meal less enjoyable. The roasted duck salad was the only standout — refreshing and full of flavor. Even though the menu offers a wide variety, the authentic Thai spices and flavors didn’t really come through, which was disappointing. Considering the price about $120 CAD per person it didn’t feel worth it. The staff were friendly and attentive, but the restaurant was extremely noisy, making it not ideal for a date or a relaxed conversation. Overall, we wouldn’t return

For a $92 per person tasting menu and a Michelin guide (many many years too…) restaurant…. Absolute colossal letdown!!!! Most dishes felt more Chinese inspired than Thai (pork belly was basically charsiu aka Chinese bbq pork but they added extra honey, silken tofu is a classic Chinese dish and baby corn?? Plz… baby corn??? For a Michelin guide restaurant??? Might as well say it’s the frozen veggie medley from Costco…) There were notably some quite awful dishes too… like the watermelon with fish flake… why? Nobody wants fishy melon bud… nobody…. The restaurant was very loud, to the point it became hard to hold a conversation with ppl at your table without feeling like your yelling. And this might be a hot take, but it’s essential for the serves to be able to communicate the dishes being served on a tasting menu. I love that the restaurant seems to hire Asian staff but our waitress had a very thick accent and seemed very shy so coupled with the loud restaurant we couldn’t understand anything she was saying. Had to repeatedly ask her what we were eating. Anyways, unfortunately would not recommend… even though we really wanted to like this place!

Excellent food that fell short just a bit. Flavor profile was on spot, but the texture was just a bit off. From the chicken being slightly on the overcooked side to the mushy Pad Thai, while flavors overcame the issue in general, the mouth feel just wasn't on point. Service was excellent with servers paying just enough attention in a packed dining room. One key issue was the constantly flickering light above the bathroom, which was both frequent enough to be distracting, but random enough that no one knew if it was intentional. Either swap your bulbs or hire an electrician please to check your wires.

Maenam will always be my fav restaurant that’s why we choose it every-time for special occasions. We love all of Angus’ restaurant - from Longtail to Pad Sen. My wife always chooses Maenam for our anniversary due to it being Angus’ pinnacle restaurant - but this year felt different. Our experience lacked personalized touches because during the process of booking until the end of our dinner, the staff never really asked why we were dining there. We called ahead because we really wanted Angus’ Black Pepper Crab special as it’s hard to find that dish here in Vancouver. I even had to forcefully mention over the phone it’s our anniversary and the person on the phone just said “Oh I see ok” - lol. I don’t mean to sound attention-seeking but most fine dining restaurant would be proactive asking things like this. Maybe Maenam isn’t fine dining? Even during throughout our dinner from walking in and walking out, no one asked what’s our occasion. Upon eating in, we thought maybe we’d get some amuse-bouche similar to previous experience but not this time — despite other tables getting it. We even saw a different table get “complimentary drinks” at the end of their dinner. I don’t mean to want to be treated special but our dine-in there, despite spending $250 for 2 people never felt special - especially for our special day. This felt like as if we were just dining in at Pad Sen or Longtail. We would have thought Maenam would be an elevated experience compared Angus’ food court sit-in concepts. Perhaps we will change our tradition and just try out other restaurants for our anniversary. Don’t get me wrong, our taste buds will still gravitate towards Angus’ creations but perhaps it’s time to try out other places. Food-wise was great but previous visits were better. Penang Curry flavour felt nothing special. The Purple Eggplant was really good. The Black Pepper Crab’s flavour was fantastic and was very tasty. I wish it came with more sauce but perhaps this dish doesn’t follow the traditional way of making black pepper crab. I would still get this because the flavour was just fantastic.

This is probably the best thai food we have ever had (and we have been eating a lot of thai food). We had the chef's menu and a fine sparkling wine from Okanagan Valley. Th service was fine. To get to the top (michelin star) the place has to upgrade on service, the interior, toilets... All fine, but not extraordinary - the food is indeed extraordinary 👍

Nestled on the vibrant Granville Island, The Liberty Distillery is a must-visit for spirit enthusiasts. This charming distillery specializes in crafting artisanal vodka, gin, and whiskey using organic grains sourced from British Columbia. One of their standout offerings is the Trust Ancient Grains whiskey, made from unique grains like spelt and emmer wheat. Visitors can indulge in a delightful tasting experience with options such as The Liberty Flight or The Gin Flight in their quaint tasting room.
Have always enjoyed the cocktails here, especially anything with the Liberty Gin. We recently booked for our anniversary party, and we couldn't have made a better choice. The atmosphere and staff was great, and I was delighted by how smooth the logistics were. The Liberty team made it a great and easy day for us.

We hosted a birthday party here and the service and team were fantastic - Lisa was amazing at ensuring we had everything planned and in place, and the team day of was stellar - ensuring our guests had a great time. And of course, amazing drinks and cocktails we all got to enjoy! Highly recommend for hosting events and parties, and will come back for our future events for sure!

We hosted a 1920s-themed murder-mystery event at Liberty Distillery, and the evening was a resounding success. The owner, Lisa, went above and beyond to ensure we had a fabulous night. The bartenders were attentive and friendly, crafting exquisite cocktails that captured the spirit of the era. I would recommend the venue without hesitation.

I was here a few years ago. I had to use the bathroom. They were so nice I had to buy something. I bought some gin. I was the best gin I have had ever!!! It was so good I could sip it neat!!! I would go there more but Granville Island is a pain. I moved away from Kits.

One of my favorite stops at Granville Island. The cocktails are always on another level and you can't go wrong picking up some bottles to restock your home bar.

Make a little cocktail stop while you are visiting Granville Island and you will feel historic vibes in this beautiful area. Their cocktails 🍸 are exceptionally delicious! The interior of the distillery is stylish and has some antique elements. Received friendly service and we felt very welcome. The bartender did a great job! I definitely recommend this place and will come back for more cocktails🍹. There is an option for those who want to purchase an in-house made bottle of spirits.

Cute stop with the worst tasting experience I've ever had (out of about 40+ wineries, breweries & distilleries). Great vibe with untapped potential. There were sterile, white, laminated info cards to describe the $15 flight tasting notes. Zero experience. Zero in-person explanation. Zero reason to return. Almost thought we were going to get some quality content when a dude with an awesome moustache and apron brought our water... (the highlight of the experience) But that was the whole experience, him bringing the water to the table. Their sign posts tours, but they no longer offer tours. If you want a quality tasting, visit Ontario (or Kentucky) . For comparables I'd recommend the staff / management visit 40 Creek (tasting / tour) or Dillon's in Ontario, or Alexander Keith's (Halifax, next level beer experience)...

Published on Main is an upscale restaurant known for its innovative and carefully sourced cuisine, set in retro-chic surroundings. In 2022, it received numerous awards in Canada, including the number one spot in Canada's top 100 restaurants and a one-star award in Vancouver's inaugural Michelin guide. Securing a reservation can be challenging, but the experience of Vancouver-style modern fine dining is worth the effort.
We came here for dinner during springtime. We ordered their famous chips & dips and the fried maitake. They were actually just basic snacks. However, the texture was perfect for both. The dips were beyond expectation. Then, we ordered the gnocchi and halibut for the main dishes. The gnocchi had good and creamy tomato paste. Meanwhile, the halibut was sooooooooooooo delicious. It was very much of my taste. So fresh, light, and moist. The selection of the seasonal veggies was also perfect. Great customer service & cozy ambience.

Love their menu selection. The service was top notch. We went for a birthday dinner, and the server definitely made it even more memorable. The octopus was a fun dish. I loved the paired red wine. They provide housemade candy with the bill, which I’d love to purchase if it’s available in a package ☺️Since they rotate the menu, we’ll definitely be coming back 💛
Rachael K — Google review
Service was excellent. They have a great rotation of staff coming by the table to ask if we are doing alright and to refresh wine. They knew the menu well and explained each dish as they were served. The interior of the restaurant is also nice and spaced out well. We sat beside the entrance but felt quite removed from the goings on there. Unfortunately, the food did not meet expectations. Of the 5 dishes my partner and I ordered, we agreed that 2 of them were excellent, the scallop dish and the ableskriver. The remainders (summer squash, albecore tuna, schnitzel) left us feeling that the dishes were alright but we didn't feel like we were 'wowed', which was sort of the expectation coming to a Michelin Star restaurant. This is, unfortunately, consistent with what I had read online previously. Overall a good night, but the food didn't feel like it was worth the price, especially for a bill that came to $345 for two people. We won't be returning.

Another Michelin-starred restaurant in Vancouver that truly deserves all its accolades. Their cocktails were amazing- borderline dangerous because they were so smooth and you couldn't really taste the alcohol. I highly recommend Figgy Sins (if it is still on the menu). The wine pairing was good too for the most part. There were one or two pairings that were off but the staff was kind enough to replace the pairings with different options. The whole experience lasted over 2.5 hrs. For a tasting menu, we got a LOT of food and my friend and I were so full towards the end- we struggled to get through the main course and the desserts. The dishes were very creative, packed a lot of flavors and were delectable. Service was amazing as well. Our sommelier was very knowledgeable. Overall, it was a greay experience. I highly recommend Published on Main.

Birthday dinner with family. Came highly recommended and did not disappoint, from the very beginning to the end, it was really on point. The room was understated but very nice, service was amazing and the food was next level. We loved Bar Susu and were sad to see it close but we learned that Published was affiliated so very happy we get to have the KFC fried matsutake mushroom. Everything was delicious but highlights were the gnocchi, strip loin and scallop. The staff were very attentive and even gave my wife a nice birthday parting gift.

Service here was next-level. When we didn’t book the tasting menu, the team curated a selection for us that perfectly captured what’s on offer right now. Every dish was thoughtful, flavourful, and so unique. 🍴 But the real star? The tomatoes. Don’t underestimate them. Okanagan grown, bursting with flavour, honestly the best we’ve ever had. 🍅💫

We went there last night for my husbands birthday. We ordered the tartare, fois gras, cabbage, scallop crudo, octopus, matsutake mushroom, gnocchi, and lamb. We could’ve done with one less dish tbh since we were really full after. Our favourite dishes were the matsutake mushroom, scallop, and octopus. We weren’t a huge fan of the lamb as it was pretty gamey. I love lamb usually and the gaminess, but this was pretty overpowering. So that’s the only dish that we didn’t like. The gnocchi wasn’t our favourite, but it was still good. Next time we’d stick to the smaller plates and the seasonal menu as everything we got from that menu was delicious. Our bill came to over 400 with tips. Well worth it considering the entire experience.

We were a group of three celebrating my wife’s birthday while visiting Vancouver from Texas, and the experience was simply outstanding. It was a perfect evening, and we couldn’t have chosen a better place to celebrate such a special occasion. Highly recommended and you won’t regret..

The Vancouver Christmas Market is an outdoor holiday marketplace located in downtown Vancouver, offering a festive atmosphere with over 80 vendors selling traditional German food and products. This market captures the spirit of a German Christmas market, featuring schnitzel, pretzels, chimney cakes, and gluhwein alongside locally smoked salmon, Vancouver-made spirits, and Asian-style street food. Visitors can also find unique gifts such as handmade ornaments, candles, and jewelry.
Although its tickets are expensive, you can take advantage of the special price of $5 to go. There is also a free carousel. It is recommended that you ride it more than 2 times when there are not many people. Adults can play, but children must keep an eye on them. I didn't find anything I liked, but the mulled wine and German pig's trotters were really good! With a very strong aroma of alcohol and a lot of meat from the pig's feet, you will definitely feel that you get a lot of value for money. There are half and whole pig's feet. Although it rained, it did not affect my wonderful memories at the market ☺️ It is highly recommended that you come to play at night. Its toilets are next to a beautiful beach.

All pop up markets are fun. This Christmas market is extra nice because of its location. Very convenient and easily located by both tourists and local. Just like any other market, there is food stalls , country specialties and different cuisine from all over the world. Market organizers do incredible job in hosting this event is the middle of downtown as there is no litter or food waste on the streets. Vibe is chill and food is delicious. If you like boutique items then surely shop at the market as there is almost everything from clothing to crafts to cutlery . It’s a pet friendly market

We had a lovely time visiting the Christmas Market, even though it started raining during our visit. The variety of food vendors added to the excitement, and the covered and heated eating area was much appreciated. However, we wished there were more seating options available. The vendors were all friendly, offering samples and providing excellent service. While the food wasn’t cheap, it’s understandable given the event’s atmosphere. However, the entrance fee felt a bit steep since nearly everything inside comes at an additional cost, except for the carrousel ride. We went just two days before Christmas, and it wasn’t overly busy, which made it easy to walk around and explore all the vendors. Overall, it’s a wonderful family tradition for the holiday season in Vancouver!

We scored $5 tickets through the Vancouver Christmas Market website today. This was my first time returning since the pandemic. The environment is lovely, and I appreciate the blend of local and international shops on-site. The food and drink options definitely stoke our yuletide cheer. Our visit satisfied my curiosity to return after many years. But I'm unlikely to bring the family again unless $5 tickets are offered.

Is a beautiful place, I love the atmosphere here. I will give 5 starts, but it's a little bit pricey. Even do I try to come every year. They have really good food spots.
Gabriela A — Google review
Ok, let’s be honest there are only 3 things that are worth visiting and paying for the market: 1. The carousel 2. The German hot dogs 3. The German structure of the mulled wine But I'm not sure if I’ll pay again to visit this market (I think it should be free or have more attractions). My photos have a filter so looks very Christmas.

2024 UPDATE: There seems to be more food options and vendors. The prices are about the same as last year, 2023. There are more places to sit and relax. The vendors appear to be in the same spot they occupied last year. It seems they require an ID if you purchased your ticket outside the venue. Another review mentioned to bring cash. That wasn't my experience. I was able to pay for everything with card/Apple pay. However, anything you pay with a card will require a tip. We went on a Monday, and it was packed, though that didn't seem to matter. Food was served quickly. I've updated all the pictures to those taken in November 2024. 2023: It's fairly expensive and like most dedicated Christmas events, it's overpriced. Huge fee just to gain admission. It takes about 30 minutes to see all the food and vendor stalls. The craft items were awesome, but those too were pretty expensive. Most vendors also have a Etsy page and the items on their online store were often much less expensive for the same item. Got 3 pretzels and it was just under $30. I know it's customary, but the tipping situation seems a bit out of control. Purchased a few items from vendors and the tipping options were 22, 25 and 28%. It might be an event to attend once. Only once.

Spanish restaurant
Como Taperia is a vibrant Spanish tapas bar and restaurant located in Vancouver. The establishment offers an authentic experience with small plates, regional wines, gin, and sherry. The menu features modern twists on classic dishes, all made to order and served from custom tapas cases imported from Barcelona. In addition to the delicious food, Como Taperia also boasts a selection of sherries and Spanish vermouths for guests to enjoy.
Como surely offered a 5 star dining experience. We had the good fortune of being seated at the bar facing the grill/prep station, which added multisensory richness to the experience. The vibrant vibe infused with a dash of warmth and a refined informality, made it all the more special. The space has an eclectic aesthetic replicating the feel of a true Tapas bar situated in a bustling bazaar of Madrid. The food menu has plenty vegetarian options - a big win for us. The flavors were bold yet delicately balanced. Cocktails were prepared with great attention to detail. Personal favorites - Food: Patatas Bravas, Charred Broccolini, Burnt basque cheesecake Cocktails: Cannavaro, Rosa Hermosa, SL's Negroni 3.0

This place was incredible. The olives stuffed anchovies were amazing. The chorizo (get the fried one) was to die for. The fried ribs also had some peppery after taste and was crispy outside but soft and tender inside. The iberico pork chop was also quite good, but not as good as the other dishes.

Been there twice. First time, loved it. Food was good. Second time, food was good, garlic shrimp could be more garlic flavored. However, we weren’t happy with the service. Didn’t seem like the host or the waiter wanted to serve us. Host brought us to a very sunny table inside, and there’s no ac, so it was hot. I requested to have a shadier table and she wasn’t happy, but moved us to a table and said we only have 40 minutes since the table is booked and then the waiter just didn’t seem like they wanted to serve given the limited time we had to be there. Quite disappointing as I was hyping the place up to my friends. Food, good though.

Great experience! We went for Father's Day with a larger party and had to contact the restaurant via email due to our size. They were super responsive and helpful with all my inquiries! Live music venue
Event ticket seller
The Commodore Ballroom, located in the heart of Vancouver's Granville Street entertainment district, is a storied venue with a rich history of hosting live music events. Since opening its doors in 1929, this iconic ballroom has welcomed an impressive lineup of performers across various music genres.
I've been enjoying a vast range of diverse genres of musical excellence at the Commodore for over 30 years, especially because the venue has a wonderfully bouncy dance floor🕺🏽💃 With the combination of the cost of a general admission floor ticket, as well as arriving early enough, I've always been able to get myself situated against the barrier, front and center for nearly every performance! What's better, is coming to see up-and-comers here, who then come back the following years to pack Rogers Arena as their musical careers take off! Awolnation, last month, were amazing, with the bonus of 2 great opening bands! I've seen dozens of unknowns here, who've become the stars of the present. Conversely, the Commodore is a venue for many established performers who have already spent years on world tours, with award-filled careers, and don't fill grand stadiums any longer. A perfect example of the latter, was last week, when Tom Morello from Rage Against The Machine performed... with his young, teenage son ripping guitar solos behind this kid's little head! It was remarkable to be so close as to look in their eyes and feel their sweat! My 20-year-old self took over, sliding me into the inevitable mosh pit! There's no way for a similar experience elsewhere without spending a few thousand for VIP seating. I'm disappointed in my timing for getting sick because I had to miss the Macy Gray show last night🤦‍♂️ I usually attend at least 1/2 dozen shows at the Commodore every year! You won't be disappointed... unless you don't like your drinks in plastic glasses🍻 It's noteworthy to say that their coat check system gives me the comfort of leaving all my things with the diligent staff so I can jump around without hindrance!

Went and saw Lights here kicking off her A6 tour, and it was an amazing concert! The venue set up is really nice with elevated seating on the sides with tables for food and booze. Large bar and a generous general admission floor in front of the stage. Nice and easily transit accessible being on Granville. The biggest downside is that the sound stage is a bit rough. They have two giant speaker banks on the side which is great, but nothing in the middle except one small speaker on the ceiling which is either really struggling or you can't hear at all. So I'd aim to be at one side of the stage or the other or you'll have difficulty hearing what's going on. Even though you're right next to the stage, unless the person you're seeing is a singer strong enough to not even need a mic (like Lights), it'll be a struggle to hear.
Robert D — Google review
Loved this venue! It has enough space for the crowd to spread out. I counted 4 bars which is great, you don’t have to wait too long for your drink. Bartenders were friendly, I felt thirsty and they gladly offered me water. The sound was not overwhelming, just right. The stage was big and both bands seemed comfortable. Loved the upper level with tables and chairs- some needed rest after jumping and dancing.
Marta S — Google review
If I were 54-40, I’d buy this place. The Commodore Ballroom is one of Vancouvers greatest and most historical venues. Fantastic sound, intimate space for concerts and food/drink. I may have staggered around this dance floor as a young adult (teen?) seeing the likes of other great bands.
Terry R — Google review
Love this venue, one of the only concert venues that I actually like how the speakers and balance of the volume sounds in the crowd. & the layout makes a lot of sense, very comfortable place to be for a long period of time. (saw flipturn play last month)
Kate C — Google review
Beautiful intimate venue to enjoy artists but I wish the sound quality was better. Some people also desired a foot rest on the high chairs. I believe I said this before but maybe the review disappeared
Jessica D — Google review
Ended up seeing Dijon perform, great venue, coat check is $5 (comparable to most places), fun layout with 2 floors but it gets chaotic trying to leave once the shows over
Shashank M — Google review
Great smaller venue. Loved it. VIP seats were still available upon entry and we were very happy with the seats we had. The girl at reservations was very helpful in helping us choose a seat based on what was still available. I’m super short so concerts are always hard for me to see anything, but I had a good seated view 98% of the show. It was also quite convenient to have a dedicated server so we didn’t have to take breaks from watching the show to wait in line for drinks. I liked the complimentary popcorn - it wasn’t anything fancy and was pretty stale, but I appreciate the gesture. I do wish there had been more info about when times doors opened or the main act would’ve come On and we would’ve planned our arrival a bit differently. Otherwise, really enjoyed this venue!!

The Roxy Cabaret is a vibrant and energetic club located in the Granville Entertainment District of Vancouver. It's known for its nightly live bands, DJ sets, and entertaining burlesque shows. Despite mixed reviews, it remains a popular spot for university students, young adults, and even visiting celebrities. The venue offers great drink specials and an electric atmosphere that keeps the dance floor moving until 3am every night.
This is probably the only “club” in Downtown Vancouver that has the potential to surprise you and turn a boring night into a night to remember. I have so many fun memories from this place! I think the live music played by this amazing band is the main reason for why this place is so awesome. Also, the music that they play is something that I can understand (and remember as a millennial lol). Anyway, if you are looking to do something from 11pm - 3am on a weekend night, Roxy is your place to be!

This is the best place to dance with live music, all the bands are really good and they have a good variety of songs for all tastes... the service is really friendly and they all the time keep clean the tables for you. I don’t even wanna give them one star they don’t deserve it at all. These guys are racist. We haven’t did anything wrong at all and they asked us to get out of the club. We paid for everything entry fee and drinks. When they were trying to get us out of the club we asked what we did wrong that give us a proof any cctv footage or something and then they pushed us( yeah they assaulted us actually pushed us)out of the club. The only reason was that we are brown(not white). If you are brown please don’t visit this place they will humiliate you in front of everyone. If anybody wonder why we didn’t called VPD they were literally outside the club we tried to file a complaint against them. There was a cop outside who refused to file any complaint against them and completely ignored us. I asked for the name of that guy who kicked us out(from other staff member who was working there)and assaulted us they only gave me his initials which is BJ(probably fake initials). Again i wanna advise all the people who believe in humanity please don’t visit this place.

Had an amazing night dancing at Roxy Cabaret from 8 PM all the way until 3 AM! 💃 The vibe was great, music was on point, and most people were just there to have fun. That said, I really appreciated the moment when one of the band members (the guy on guitar!) spoke up from the stage and kindly asked the crowd to give space so the girls could actually dance — not get bumped into or touched constantly. That little gesture made a huge difference. Respect goes a long way 🙌

Brewery
R&B Ale & Pizza House is a classic microbrewery in Vancouver, established in 1997. The venue has recently undergone a complete transformation, offering a retail growler station, cozy fireplace with a book nook, and an expansive bar area. The brewery serves its own unique selection of beers with names inspired by East Vancouver and offers a delicious brewpub menu featuring their renowned pizzas. The ambiance exudes a retro vibe with vinyl records and laid-back 70s atmosphere.
R&B has been our go-to brewery for over 6 years now. The staff are always consistently friendly and warm, the energy and vibes are always on point, and the beers are solid. There are a number of staples that they keep year-round and ALWAYS a number of new seasonal flavours. Always (and I mean always) get the pizza.
Shazeen T — Google review
First came to this location years ago when it was still in construction and I was only allowed to buy a growler to go (no food then). Well anticipation was not rewarded here. The beer is fine but the pizza was still uncooked and definitely could have used some more time in the oven. Plenty of seating even during busy lunch rush but I would go with the liquid lunch here and skip the pizza just like they skipped cooking it.

We came in late for some pizza and beers on a Wednesday night. The kitchen was minutes away from last call, but they took us in arms wide open. Fired up the pizza oven and got us some beers. The staff are super friendly, the beers were great, and the pizza was incredible (the crust is so good). Highly recommend the Sausage and Fennel pie.

For four times I've visited R&B hoping the beer would improve and it hasn't. I loved visiting this place five years ago. The beer used to be tasty and so did the pizza, but I think this place has gone down hill. There are way better breweries in Vancouver to try that are not as expensive and serve way better food for less money. Had such terrible service on Saturday night too which has led to this review. What happened in 9 years? If I could give 0 stars I would.

Some strong judgments in the bad reviews. This place has always had great beer and solid service. The pizza is tasty and there are lots of options for different dietary restrictions. One of my favorite places. You're not escaping high prices at any restaurant so I dont see that as a valid point against this spot in particular.
Travis T — Google review
As a former brewer (elsewhere) who knows how much a 20 oz. glass at a brewery really costs- WAY overpriced beers. I always tip because it's fair to the staff who aren't getting paid top dollar so with the beers being $11+ and with tip, paying over $12 for a single beer is INSANE. Especially because as my friends pointed out during our conversation about the place is that it's straight from the factory! No bottles or cans with logos, no packaging, just straight from the taps. There ARE other places that have way cheaper pours in this city btw. This place used to have great prices for the people but sadly, not anymore. Also, the pizza... small and overpriced but that's a whole different review. Our groceries are more important so this is just my two bits. Lower the prices and I'm not talking just on your 'special' day/hours and we will all come back but unless things change, two thumbs down. Just being honest here folks.

I love this place! The pickle beer was the best thing I ever had in my entire life, same with the mango spicy haberno. I never dreamed of anything like this in my life. I'll never go anywhere else. Also love coconut kiwi for a refreshing everyday beer! Love you guys love everything

The Richmond Night Market is a must-visit for an incredible food experience. Established in 2000, it has become one of the largest North American night market festivals. The market offers a wide variety of innovative, Asian-inspired fusion foods that are perfect for capturing jaw-dropping Instagram shots.
I went to the Richmond Night Market for the first time (I am from US) and it was a great experience!! It is way better than night markets in the states. The only long line was to get inside. Once we were in, we waited no longer than 5 minutes in a line and the food came out really quick! It’s so much cheaper than US food festivals as well so we were able to try a bunch of different things for a good price. I would 100% come again. It was well worth the drive.
Christina L — Google review
Would I call it an overpriced tourist attraction? Yes. But if you can look past the cost, it’s a fun experience. There are plenty of food stalls, and while not everything is worth trying, you can always check reviews to see what stands out. It’s more enjoyable to go with a group so you can try more items. Personally, my favorites were the Lamb Noodles from Chef James Co, the Pork Dumplings from Momo's, and the Mango Paradise from Taco Nori Sushi Tacos. The Coconut in a Cup from One Coconut was just okay. As for the Deep-Fried Squid from Squid Feast and the Spot Prawns from Ocean Sweets, BBQ Squid Mix from Lao Er BBQ Squid, they tasted mid. Beyond food, they also have shops and games. I don’t think it’s worth spending money outside of food, but it’s worth a look.

This was my first time at the Richmond Night Market, and it was such a fun experience! I already expected the food to be pricey, so definitely bring plenty of cash. There’s a huge variety of food—mostly Asian cuisine, but we also found a great Mexican food stand. Tons of carnival-style games to try too! Admission is $7 CAD per person, or you can get a fast pass for $35 that covers 5 people. If you don’t have a group for the fast pass, I’d recommend going early to avoid the long lines. They even have a zip line, although it wasn’t open during our visit. Overall, a lively place to eat, play, and explore!
Thu L — Google review
food was really good, much better than expected! stinky tofu was authentic, tasted almost similar to the ones in changsha. fried squid was amazing, so tender and crispy, the people really gave a lot for the size small portion. mango sticky rice was also my favourite! however, the price is just way too high, these would normally be sold at a third/half the price. on top of that, admission fee is pricey, which makes you want to spend more in the night market to get your money’s worth… fun experience but probably wouldn’t go back because of the prices!!

Weapons and family time? No thank you. You have to pay to get in, and once you’re in you’re faced with overpriced street food, overpriced carnival games, cash-only sales AND high caliber weapons sold in the open, right in the middle of the park. There is something really strange about a market (night or day) that promotes friendly family time with children games and arcades and at the same time allows the sale of assault rifles and semi-automatic guns under a tent right in the middle of everything. We were left wondering what audience is this park really trying to attract? They have a zip line (overpriced as everything else on the park) which at least makes it “fun” for kids to watch and young adults to enjoy, and then they have bouncy houses literally aimed at kids, and they also have carnival games (also overpriced) which you may argue are for all ages, so that’s fine, but who are the high caliber weapon sales for? Are those also cash-only? I wouldn’t know because it made us so uncomfortable, we left in less than an hour. Sketchy place. Management really needs to decide what image they want to have and what audience they’re trying to reach. You can’t attract families and friends enjoying some wholesome time together or young couples on a date, and at the same time attract those who are in the market for a high-caliber weapon sold at night potentially on the down-low in a makeshift market by an industrial zone. That’s just weird.
Percy — Google review
Honestly, I always enjoy RNM. Been going for years and it's really what you make of it. Entrance is $5, parking is massive and FREE, the food can be a bit pricey - but the variety is there and it's food I wouldn't have normally nor regularly. You go to try new things and just have fun with the food pallet. Go with a sociable/curious group of friends or partner, go have a good time, try some interesting food, buy some cute trinkets and take some cute photos. Buen Provecho! :) *Bring cash - they have multiple ATMS... but save yourself the fee*

I’m sad it took me 3 trips to Vancouver to finally go to the Richmond Night Market. It was quite a long line to get in at 1900, but it only helped my appetite. We got a free lobster hat upon entrance which delighted my niece. We ate at several different stalls. My favorite was the toasted mochi and the mango sticky rice!
Nichelle S — Google review
The admission ticket was really overpriced considering the limited variety of activities and performance offered. The experience was mainly lining up for expensive vendor food. I strongly recommend the organizer introduce more diverse activities and organize more performance shows featuring local artists to make the ticket price worth to purchase. A significant concern is the infrastructure in most areas at the night market including parking lot are unpaved with rocks and posing a considerable chance of muddy conditions during rainy days. Furthermore, the lack of tents or shelters for eating areas was another major inconvenience for families and friends to enjoy food.

The Cascade Room is a vibrant restaurant that serves West Coast comfort food and offers an extensive classic cocktail list. Located near the corner of Main and Broadway, it's a popular spot for locals to enjoy daily Happy Hour specials and drink features. The venue also hosts jazz and blues nights during special events. For a more casual dining experience, visitors can head to The Cascade Room for comforting eats or explore other nearby dining options on Main Street.
I had the "Aviation" a cocktail I've been wanting too try for long time really enjoyed. My gf had a seasonal cocktail it had pomegranate and eggwhite-marshmallowy foam she enjoyed it. The vibe is great I'm glad my seats were actually comfortable unlike other bars that hate their customers next time I'll come back here with freinds and maybe sit in horseshoes seats and try the food. Btw It's large bar I was surprised how big it was plenty of different times of seating. Will definitely come back.

Excellent service however the food was pretty average. The fish was a bit overcooked and quite salty. The tiramisu was also pretty dry and the strawberry on top was basically going bad on the underside. If they are going to pre prep the food and take it out to serve they should make sure it is still fresh. The fish crockets were probably the best out of the 3 dishes served.

Solid Happy Hour menu. Calamari were fantastic, crispy cauliflower was delish, Poutine decadent. Charcuterie was a bit slim. Note that the Prawns Aguachile is swimming in cilantro, though that's not listed on the menu! And the chicken brochettes were a total miss for us - not much flavour but lots of gristle.

Cool, comfortable place for cocktails and appetizers. Service was excellent, friendly and attentive! We had a variety of appetizers as dinner and can recommend them all: wings, warm olives, calamari, baked brie, and bread/butter side. All done very nicely and tasted great. Cocktails were great, we had a variety but I really liked the 'Distant Friend' and the 'Banana Rama'. Would love to work my way thru the feature list!

Have been going to this place for years and love it! Extensive and exciting cocktail list with great food and ambiance to boot. They often change up their feature cocktails so always something new to try. Plus, all day happy hour on Mondays! Their cocktails are also just very reasonably priced in comparison to other cocktail bars. Easy 10/10!

Go ahead and try anywhere else on Main if you value hospitality. We were immediately seated at the bar, the drinks and food were fine. However, as we were closing out, one of us left a cash tip instead of using the card machine, she’s a server herself and understands the value of a direct cash tip. After closing out, we asked for water before leaving and the bartender flat-out refused and said, “No, because she didn’t tip.” When we tried to explain that a cash tip had been left, along with the rest of our group tipping individually, he cut us off and WALKED AWAY. We were stunned, speechless, and honestly embarrassed over something that could have easily been cleared up with just a little bit of professionalism and courtesy.

A cool little spot on Main Street with an extensive happy hour (all day on Mondays). This was a fun afternoon spot, where it’s not that loud and has attentive staff. A large selection of beers on tap from Main St that can be happy hour options, plus cocktails on tap that give you a lot of options for refreshments. Food is good, comes out fresh, and hot. Has a good vibe and will definitely come back for another round.

Bar None Nightclub is a vibrant hotspot nestled in the heart of Yaletown, where the charm of a converted warehouse meets an electrifying nightlife scene. This trendy venue has been captivating party-goers for over two decades with its unique blend of industrial aesthetics and modern flair. The atmosphere is alive with energy, especially on weekends when both local and international DJs take to the decks, spinning everything from high-energy EDM to smooth R&B beats that keep the dance floor packed.
If you're looking for a wild night out, Bar None Unleashed is the place to be! From the moment you step inside, you're enveloped in an atmosphere that's both inviting, and electrifying. The freshest venue around. The talent here is top-notch and the best in Metro Vancouver — each performer brings their own unique flair and charisma that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Drinks are reasonably priced, especially bottle service. Plus, the staff is attentive and friendly, ensuring you have everything you need for a fantastic and unforgettable night. If you’re feeling adventurous and want to liven up the night, then I highly recommend a visit (or three). Overall, Bar None Unleashed delivers an experience that’s both thrilling and classy.

I went to the club on 26th July night and had the worst experience ever. Do not go to this club. Me and my friend were Indians. The bartender (girl) accused of my friend puking over the bar (I was with her and that did not happen) and her kicked out. We tried to tell the bouncers that and they were VERY rude and dismissive. It almost felt racist. We told them to roll the footage of my friend supposedly “puking”, they refused to. They were so blatantly rude to us. Even told everyone in our group to leave, who were just bystanders to our friend who got accused. This place is awful and I would recommend skipping it. I repeat, it’s AWFUL.

Went to Bollywood party yesterday. Had couple of beers, few shots of Vodka. Now for obvious reasons if you are having alcohol and you are dancing, the throat gets dry and you feel like drinking water. The first time they did give the water when I asked, the second time they say that no tap water now, just packaged water. So they sold Kirkland 500ml bottle for $8.5. I mean have some dignity of you are not serving free water, atleast keep the water that is worth paying $8.5 bucks. Third-class service. Okayish DJ from Chaska. Not worth the time Guys, there are better clubs worth spending on.

Laowai is a captivating cocktail bar located in Vancouver's historic Chinatown, offering an immersive experience that transports visitors to 1920s Shanghai. The elaborate ruse creates an ambiance reminiscent of speakeasies during the Prohibition era. Additionally, its sister lounge, Bagheera, evokes the spirit of Rudyard Kipling-era adventures in India. Visitors praise Laowai for its excellent cocktails and food, as well as the unique stories behind each drink.
The #7 dumplings are a must! Such a neat place and open late on the weekends. We loved the decor of the storefront contrasted with the elevated speakeasy behind the door. Unique menu with detailed inspirations - a fun spot, for small groups of friends.

Positive. The room is warm and pretty. Negative. All the rest. This idea of exclusivity is a buzz kill. Especially once you’re in. And the place is empty after them making you wait 10 minutes (see pics). They give you the password which is “7” but what’s the point? Notice most of the room pics and the place is empty but they make you wait outside as if it’s packed. The cocktail I had was a Head Over Heels. They try really hard here at being inventive but the drink tasted as muddy as it looks. The menu trying to be creative and perhaps whimsical, doesn’t roll in a dimly lit room where you can barely read. Too much irrelevant content that doesn’t get you to a cocktail quicker. Last I checked, meet the customers needs asap and get them engaged and reorder by personal service, not some wordy cocktail menu. It doesn’t work. Seriously pass on this. There are far better cocktails all over the city. Go there and forget Laowai’s gimmick.

Always a great place to go and have clandestine catch ups. I'm such a sucker for intentional design and everything has had so much thought behind it. From the space, to the uniforms, the menu design and the cocktail/food recipes. Everything is fantastically presented. Though I do have to agree with some other reviews where the flavours of the cocktails can be improved on. I wish every cocktail was balanced well, but that's a gamble I'm happy especially with the helpful staff and beautiful space.
Tanya W — Google review
Atmosphere: 8/10 Located in Vancouver’s Chinatown—street-level can feel sketchy, but once inside, the speakeasy vibe takes over. Stylish, immersive design with thoughtful elements everywhere. The backbar is extremely well stocked (60+ baijiu varieties!), though the layout is visually average. Music volume was just right for conversations. Drinks: 6.5/10 Recommendation: – The menu concept, based on Chinese inventions, is creative and very well executed—each cocktail includes flavor indicators (strength, sweetness, sourness, bitterness) and ingredient details. It’s one of the most thoughtfully designed menus in town. However, the cocktails themselves were variable. “Fury Road” was baijiu-based but not well balanced. Glassware felt average, no coasters, and garnish/presentation ranged from basic to unique. Service: 8/10 Water served on arrival. Team was friendly and professional. Prices felt standard. Overall service experience leaned solid but stopped short of premium.

Really cool speakeasy with great vibe and super friendly bartenders. Love all the drinks we got. They’re all creative and balanced especially the Heinz sight!

This has been my all time favorite cocktail bar. The incredible journey each cocktail took me through so many different flavor profiles and textures that left me in awe. I came with a group of 3, which we all ordered separate drinks - each of the drinks were immaculate - so much that we had intended only tasting one drink, but we were easily convinced to stay and try the rest of their menu. Typically, I would find one drink at a cocktail bar that would stand out - however Laowai impressed me across the board. The staff were so sincere and made our experience so incredible. The presentation of the menu was so unique - they curated the menu through story telling of a book, which definitely added a layer to the experience. I'm excited for them change their cocktail menus again and have an entirety novel experience. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Go experience it, try it out for yourself, it's worth the wait. Shout-out to Vanessa and Willow for the incredible experience.

The Chickadee Room is a trendy spot located in Vancouver's Chinatown, known for its innovative cocktails and cool vibes. The venue features nightly live music and also offers the option to order delicious food from its sister restaurant, Juke Fried Chicken.
Such a fun spot! I loved the cool 80s vibe — neon signs, colorful lighting, and that playful retro aesthetic. What makes it even more interesting is that just behind the curtain, they share a kitchen with a small Mexican joint that looks way more casual (okay, maybe even a bit sketchy) — but this side of the venue feels completely different: stylish, clean, and well-designed. I had the walnut salad and it was honestly delicious. It’s cool that both places share the same kitchen and menu, but the atmosphere here made the whole experience feel way more elevated.

I had never been to this location before, but I was craving the loaded fries and popcorn chicken from Juke Chicken and I'm so glad they share a kitchen! The cocktails and the design of the space and menus really were so inspired. I was so glad they let me take a menu home! I think the recipe for the loaded fries changed from when I first had them, but THEY HAVE IMPROVED SO MUCH and they were already so fantastic to begin with. I appreciate that they have a Cocktail for a Cause menu where proceeds are donated to the Urban Native Youth Association, but I was sold on the Dark Matter with the way David described it and it did not disappoint. I'll have to come back for one of the cocktail for a cause drinks!

Visiting Vancouver for work I was thrilled to be recommended this place and had an excellent time. Everything from the theme (lots of film and culturally references in the decor and menu items) and the neon-crested ambience was a total vibe and I wish I this spot was in my city. The staff were cheerful and helpful and took great care of us in our booth. Also the All-dressed fries were maybe some of the most tasty fries I've ever had (and I love a fry); also the chicken nuggets were fantastically seasoned. Will be thinking fondly of my session here and look forward to coming back next time im in town. 10/10

The chicken was delicious—perfectly crispy, juicy, and everything you could want. Paired with the cocktails, it was a perfect meal. Every drink we tried was absolutely on point; creative, balanced, and expertly made. We can't wait to come back. We had a great day at this park so much to do. The Aquarium was awesome and food was good. There is a lovely beach area to take a picnic. If you have kids they will love it. The walks are interesting you won't regret going. Take lots of water

Stanley Park feels like a true jungle in the heart of the city—an amazing escape from the hustle and bustle. If you’re seeking peace and quiet, and you love birds and small animals, this is the perfect place to explore. You can spend hours discovering its wonders, from lush forest trails to serene lakes and breathtaking ocean views. With playgrounds, restaurants, a pool, and the sea, there’s something for everyone. Every time I walk through the park, I find something new to enjoy and marvel at—it’s truly a magical experience.

Stanley Park’s Inner Loop Hike is an essential experience for anyone visiting or living in Vancouver. As you step onto the well-maintained trails, you’re immediately enveloped by lush greenery, towering old-growth trees, and a sense of tranquility that feels worlds away from the nearby urban bustle. The park’s diverse ecosystem features a mix of conifers, ferns, and vibrant forest undergrowth, creating a calming, natural ambiance. Nestled in the stunning northern Vancouver, Capilano Suspension Bridge Park has been a captivating attraction since its establishment in 1889. The park boasts a 137m-long treetop bridge that offers breathtaking views of the lush forest below. Visitors can explore the entire park, including the Cliffwalk, Treetops Adventure, Story Centre, and KiaPalano for an array of thrilling experiences. Additionally, guided tours led by knowledgeable staff provide unique insights into the park's wonders.
Visiting the Capilano Suspension Bridge was just wow, what an unforgettable experience! The moment I stepped onto the iconic bridge, the views of the lush green canyon and the feeling of being suspended high above the river were absolutely thrilling. I loved exploring every part of the park. Besides the main suspension bridge, the Cliffwalk takes you along a glass-bottomed walkway with stunning perspectives of the forest floor. The Treetops Adventure is another highlight, with a series of mini bridges strung between massive old-growth trees—perfect for anyone wanting to feel like they're walking among the treetops! There are also captivating nature trails, kid-friendly activities, and fascinating educational exhibits throughout the grounds. The food on site was excellent, especially after a bit of adventure! I enjoyed a tasty meal at the cafe, and the gift shop was loaded with unique souvenirs. The customer service was top-notch—staff were friendly, informative, and really added to the welcoming feel of the park. Parking isn’t free, so make note of that, but the convenience is worth it. If you’re coming from downtown Vancouver, don’t miss the free shuttle bus—it’s comfortable, efficient, and perfectly connects with the city’s vibrant energy. Overall, Capilano Suspension Bridge offers an unbeatable mix of excitement, beauty, and great amenities. It’s a must-see for anyone visiting Vancouver, and I can’t recommend it enough!

Fantastic day out. Three thrills in one 😂😂. The view from the bridge down into the valley are amazing, the only place you cannot stop is on the stairs on or off the bridge. Then follows the tree top walk. This was beautifully lit with twinkle lights. It is a bit of a climb up but well worth it. Then we did the cliff walk which again had fantastic views. The park was prepared for Halloween so the decoration was lovely. Well worth the trip and a free shuttle bus to/from Canada Place.

Such a gorgeous place!! One of my girlfriends and I drove up for a girls weekend and had such a wonderful time visiting the park! We got lucky and had the opportunity to visit while they have all of their Halloween decorations up and it was amazing! Definitely put us in a festive mood. All of my encounters with staff were great, everyone is so friendly and seems happy to be there, and the park is so organized and clean. Definitely worth a visit!
Anna R — Google review
I visited the park today and had the best time! Its absolutely beautiful and a must see for anyone who comes to Canada. A huge shout out to the amazing tour guide Diancy (I'm so sorry if I've spelt that wrong) who knew her stuff! Every question I had about the trees, or the forest, she was able to answer in great detail. She was super friendly and really made the tour feel extra special. Over all the whole experience was amazing!
Katharine C — Google review
The bridge itself is a bit scary at first but so much fun — and the views are incredible. The whole area feels like a forest adventure with the treetop walk and cliff walk. Everything is super clean and well-organized, and the staff were really nice. It’s such a peaceful place but also exciting at the same time. Totally worth it, especially if you love nature and a bit of thrill!

My girl and I got our BC residents pass and wow what an amazing unforgettable experience! It’s absolutely stunning at night with the Halloween theme. The tree top bridges are my favourite! So many sites to see in a beautiful area. This place is so well taken care of and designed perfectly. Cannot wait to come back I’m so excited to go again:)
Emily M — Google review
Such a cool experience. We came during October and experienced their canyon frights event that had all the suspension bridges lit up and everything decorated for Halloween. Not sure if it’s lit year round but was a cool way to explore the park. It took us about 2 hours including stops for coffee and tea and gift shop.
Karina — Google review
Great time, the suspension bridge is itself quite an experience. There was only about half dozen of us crossing at the time and it was already very bouncy feeling, not sure how they manage on I’m a celeb! The cliff walk was a great experience also. Went during Halloween and it was all dressed up very well too!

Granville Island Public Market is a bustling indoor market offering a wide array of gourmet food stalls, artisan boutiques, restaurants, bars, and cafes. Situated near the Plaza of Nations, visitors can conveniently access the market via Aquabus or False Creek Ferries. The market's proximity to attractions like Science World museum and transportation hubs such as Yaletown-Roundhouse SkyTrain station makes it an ideal stop for both locals and tourists.
An iconic covered public market that is part of the tourist attractions around Vancouver city. The market has local vendors selling fresh farm produce, coffees, baked items, meat and fish, as well as some artistic works. There are also plenty of Chinese food shops. The market also has famous doughnut and coffee shops for which people are lining up. The market is quite large and can take up to an hour for browsing and shopping. The main activity around here is to get something to eat from these shops. The market can easily be accessed by car, or a more touristy way is to take the boat bus and small ferries from a lot of spots in Vancouver downtown. Highly recommend a visit to this market.
Avais S — Google review
Lively and colorful spot with so much to see, taste, and take in. The food stalls are full of fresh local produce, baked goods, cheeses, seafood, and snacks from all over. It’s fun just walking through and taking it all in. The smells, the sounds, the mix of people all add to the experience. Great place to grab a bite, pick up something unique, or just enjoy the atmosphere by the water. Feels like a little world of its own.
Val T — Google review
Granville Island Market is such a beautiful spot to explore, full of colors, fresh food and local art. It’s definitely expensive, so most people just walk around and enjoy the atmosphere rather than buying much. Still, it’s one of those places that feels worth visiting at least once.
Sabrina R — Google review
One of the must-visit places in Vancouver. The Public Market is full of fresh fruits, veggies, and all kinds of local goodies, with some vendors even offering free samples to try. Parking can be a bit stressful, especially on weekends, and even on weekdays it can be hard to find a spot. Still, it is definitely worth the visit. I loved walking around, exploring the shops, and enjoying the beautiful waterfront views. It is a great spot to soak in the local vibe! Things I recommend trying/visiting: • Lasagna at the market • Creative craft shops • Lee’s Donuts • Flower shops • The crystal chandelier under the overpass

Beautiful place to walk and listen to live music. There are a variety of fruit and vegetables. You can enjoy the view and shop at the local stores.

Wow, wow, wow ... This place makes me want to move to the area. What an amazing and eclectic collection of foods, drinks, snacks, produce... It's a little overwhelming at first, but once you get your bearings and match the energy it's awesome. I can imagine living nearby, taking a water taxi to the market and just living my best life in Vancouver. This place is a gem. Don't sleep on it ...
Robert V — Google review
Interesting bustling market that isn’t a tourist trap. The locals love this place too. Tons of variety here, you can buy fresh fruit and veggies, fresh seafood, Italian food, German food, French food, etc. We also saw cafes, butcher shops, grocery shops, spice shops, ice cream shops, bakeries, jewelry stands, flower shops and this cool shop that only sold pickles and pickle socks! Very reasonable prices too, we bought a pepperoni stick from one stall and it was only $1.25! Perfect snack to munch on while walking around the market. They have a central food court that’s filled with unique places to eat (didn’t see a lot of chain restaurants) and lots of seating to sit down and enjoy your meal. Some notable places included a stall that sold soup/broth, another that sold Montreal smoked meat + fresh bagels, and one that sold pot pies (this one was super popular)! Worth a visit!

Bridge
Sights & Landmarks
Lions Gate Bridge, a landmark suspension bridge in Vancouver, offers stunning city views and features a pedestrian walkway. Spanning 1,517.3 meters from Downtown to North Vancouver, the bridge stands at a height of 61 meters and provides an unobstructed vantage point for admiring sunset colors over the ocean. Accessible from Stanley Park or its North-end, visitors can explore walkways and platforms on the West-side for optimal viewing opportunities.
The suspension bridge is absolutely majestic and gives a solid, secure feeling when you walk across it. On both sides of the bridge, there are dedicated cycling paths, making it easy and enjoyable for cyclists. You can start from Prospect Point Lookout and ride your bike downhill directly to the entrance of the bridge’s bike lane, where you’ll be treated to stunning scenic views along the way.
Foodie V — Google review
It's been years since I drove across the Lions Gate Bridge, decades actually, but I have sailed under it several times on cruise ships departing from Vancouver. Its not high enough for some of the newer big ships, except perhaps at very low tide. Even being on a smaller ship, you can get pretty close. It can be quite beautiful as you slide by, in the right lighting. I have passed under in the afternoon, evening and at sunrise, each giving different profiles and perspectives.
Graham T — Google review
Pretty decent bridge for riding across, except there are some narrow parts where you should ride single file. We witnessed someone trying to pass another rider and instead crashed into an immovable object… the bridge.
Frank B — Google review
Lions Gate Bridge is an iconic symbol of Vancouver and a living monument to the Great Depression era. It opened to motor traffic on November 14, 1938 (pedestrians were allowed two days earlier). The project was financed by the Guinness family through British Pacific Properties to open up North Shore lands for development—fueling the rapid growth of West Vancouver. In 1939 King George VI’s motorcade crossed the bridge; in 1955 the province bought it, and in 1963 the toll was removed. In 2004 it was designated a National Historic Site of Canada. The south entrance is flanked by Art Deco lion statues by sculptor Charles Marega—a nod to the mountain peaks The Lions, which gave the bridge its name. The main span is about 472 m (1,548 ft), the towers ~118 m (387 ft); at its opening it was the longest suspension bridge in the British Empire. Decorative lighting for Expo ’86 was again funded by the Guinness family—another touch from the city’s benefactors Aleks recommends👍❗️

Review of Lions Gate Bridge – Vancouver’s Iconic Gateway Crossing the Lions Gate Bridge is one of the most visually stunning experiences in Vancouver. Whether heading north toward the lush slopes of Grouse Mountain and the hills of West Vancouver or south into downtown, flanked by the towering trees of Stanley Park, the scenery is nothing short of breathtaking. On clear days, the green waters of Burrard Inlet shimmer on either side, making the journey feel like a postcard come to life. The bridge is more than just a crossing—it’s a moment of transition between the urban and the wild, the city and the sea. It can be enjoyed not only by vehicle but also on foot or by bike. Walking across gives you a chance to fully take in the surrounding views—just be aware that the pedestrian path is quite narrow. If a cyclist is passing, it can get tight, so caution is needed. That said, the beauty comes with a price. Traffic during rush hours can be intense, and any accident can bring things to a near standstill. In such moments, the iconic charm of the bridge can feel more like a bottleneck. Still, despite its traffic woes, Lions Gate Bridge remains one of the most scenic and symbolic landmarks in the region—a must-experience whether you are a local or a visitor.
Reza S — Google review
I took these pictures and video while I was cycling on the bridge. One point about this bridge for cyclists and walkers is that the lane from north side of the bridge to the south has more uphill than the other side. Only when walking on the bridge you can see the magnificence of engineering.
Ehsan A — Google review
Very beautiful bridge ! The Lions Gate Bridge, opened in 1938 and officially known as the First Narrows Bridge, is a suspension bridge that crosses the first narrows of Burrard Inlet and connects the City of Vancouver, British Columbia, to the North Shore municipalities of the District of North Vancouver, the City of North Vancouver, and West Vancouver. The term "Lions Gate" refers to the Lions, a pair of mountain peaks north of Vancouver. Northbound traffic on the bridge heads in their general direction. A pair of cast concrete lions, designed by sculptor Charles Marega, were placed on either side of the south approach to the bridge in January 1939.
