Kesar Da Dhaba is a long-standing eatery located near the iconic Golden Temple in Amritsar. It is renowned for its rich and aromatic Punjabi thalis served in an old-fashioned setting. The menu features classic dishes like Dal Makhani, Paneer Tikka, and Stuffed Paranthas prepared using authentic recipes passed down through generations and enriched with pure desi ghee.
Ordered special thali and I was not able to finish even half of it 🥺, they packed my half of the thali. Food is really delicious and phirni is must try. You can reach by walking, bike or toto/rickshaw. Cars cannot reach as it is located in a narrow street. Place is worth visiting if you want to try Punjabi dishes at its best.
Aamir H — Google review
I recently visited Kesar Dhaba and tried their stuffed naan thali with chole, dal, curd, and salad. The food was tasty and fulfilling, especially the naan which was well cooked with a nice balance of flavor. The chole was rich and spiced well, giving that authentic dhaba feel. That said, the service was on the slower side, and the ambiance felt quite crowded. Prices are slightly on the higher side compared to regular dhabas, but the portion size was decent enough. Overall, it’s a good place to experience traditional North Indian food, especially if you’re craving naan and chole, but be prepared for some wait time and a busy environment. Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (3.5/5)
Ajay M — Google review
We visited here for lunch and ordered one special thali, dal fry, plain paratha, and rice. The dal was really good (you should taste) rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Luckily, we didn’t have to wait for a table. This is definitely a must visit place in Amritsar, especially to try their famous dal.
Santhosh B — Google review
First of all, the seating is less with average ambience. Every staff was careless, 3 were sitting on corner tables where customer sits. One staff was standing next to the cashier lady(she might be the owner)and when she got up, he grabbed her chair and started us eating, which looks very weired and non-professional behaviour. The owner lady doesnt have control on her staff and all were careless EXCEPT one lady in uniform, at least she was running the show. Also, observed shortage ot items Lassi which is an all time favorite drink of every north indian. It seems that after the sad demise of the Original Owner, nobody cares about running this famous restaurent. The main part, which is hygeine-- Toilets were dirty, there is water in the Urinal even after having Sensor, used tissues were lying onthe floor instead of dustbin. The floor was wet and water can be seen under the Urinal. There is absolutely careless management who runs this premises very casually like- Ab itna purana naam hai hotel ka to chalana to padega na... I dont know why there is so much hype about this hotel when everybody facing issues. This is my genuine feedback,if anybody want to discuss with me then I will provide my mobile number. The Alloo Paratha,Ghee Roti,Boondi Raita were good. The Kadhai Paneer,Daal Tadka were average. Regards Akhhil Sharmma
Akhhil S — Google review
Food was average, but the desserts were amazing especially the phirni and Rasmalai (must must try). The restaurant had a very long waiting line, it takes almost 15-30 mins to get seated, after that the service is very fast.
Ishita K — Google review
If you’re visiting Amritsar, Kesar Da Dhaba is an absolute must-try for traditional Punjabi food. Their parathas and laccha naan are exceptionally tasty and full of authentic flavor. The service is quick and courteous, and the staff ensures a pleasant dining experience. The seating arrangement is decent, though the interior is quite basic and could be improved. The dhaba is located in a very crowded area, which makes it difficult to reach with a self-drive car — it’s best to park outside and take a rickshaw or tuk-tuk to get there. Overall, it’s a legendary spot for food lovers who want to experience true Amritsari flavors. Highly recommended! 🍽️
Prince I — Google review
Best parathas I’ve ever had! Just perfect! The service was also exceptional. Our waitress served us with so much love.
Palash J — Google review
Loved everything about it. Chose the original seating area for the authenticity of the atmosphere. Food was soooo good!!! Almost missed the phirnis (was a bit heartbroken) but the staff miraculously brought two last plates of it. #fullOfGratitude I know this place does not require it but I highly recommend it.

When in Amritsar, a visit to All India Famous Kulcha is a must for an authentic taste of the city's renowned kulchas. These delicious treats are made of maida and baked in a tandoor, offering a unique flavor compared to the fried paranthas. The bustling food street of Amritsar hosts the original store where you can witness the skilled process of making these kulchas. The shop has gained nationwide popularity for its delectable offerings, attracting visitors year-round.
Do visit if you love eating out authentic kulcha at a roadside dhaba. The taste was very good and very affordable. A bit far from the old city but there are tuktuks who you can rent. You can also stop for a quick bute or a brunch.
RUTVIK D — Google review
This place offers a very local Amritsari experience..low key, simple and raw outlet that makes local Amritsari Kulcha.. The Kulchas were good but I'd say nothing out of the way. The service was good and the people here are sweet. It is a fairly clean place. Try for a typical local experience.
Johann Q — Google review
All India Famous Amritsari Kulcha in Amritsar is a legendary spot that lives up to its name. Nestled in a modest corner of the city, this eatery attracts locals and tourists alike for one simple reason – its irresistibly crispy, buttery, and perfectly spiced kulchas. The menu is straightforward, usually offering a variety of stuffed kulchas like aloo, paneer, gobhi, and mix veg, all served with chana (chickpeas), tangy onion chutney, and a dollop of butter. The highlight is undoubtedly the kulcha itself – flaky on the outside, soft inside, and cooked in a traditional tandoor, giving it a smoky aroma and authentic taste. The chole are rich and masaledar, complementing the kulchas perfectly. Service is fast and no-nonsense, and the prices are surprisingly reasonable given the taste and portion size. The place can get crowded, especially during breakfast and lunch hours, but the quick turnaround keeps things moving. Though the ambiance is basic and seating limited, the flavors more than make up for it. If you're in Amritsar, missing this would be a culinary mistake. It’s a must-visit for every street food lover and a true reflection of Punjab’s rich food culture.
Vaidya M — Google review
Even though it’s the oldest kulcha place in Amritsar the locals don’t favour it much. For me the Kulcha was awesome and I managed to eat 2, phew!!
Bikram S — Google review
Priced at Rs 60 per Mix Kulcha with Amul Butter spread on it, it is served with mildly spiced cholle and onion and imli chutney. Has simple seating and limited menu options. Do try if in Amritsar. They only accept cash as payment. Serving uncle is quite sweet.

It’s an amazing place for Amritsari Kulcha. If you are visiting Amritsar this is the place not miss out. Kulcha are absolutely amazing and crispy along with chutney. Hats off to the people behind All India Amritsari Kulcha

Kulcha Land is a popular spot in Amritsar, known for serving classic North Indian specialties, including breakfast options. One of their mouth-watering delicacies is the Bheega Kulcha, made from dough balls of fine flour and smothered in chickpea gravy with various spices. The menu also features stuffed naan in options like potato, cauliflower, and paneer served with white butter.
Amritsari kulche ki jitni tareef suni thi.. sab ekdum 100% sahi proof hui, once I had the amritsari kulcha with chole and pyaz ki chutney here.. Their kulchas are offcourse made of maida but they are very crunchy and flaky.. even their stuff kulchas were so light on stomach... I think I never had such a tasty lassi what I had here.. as gud ki lassi.. v bloggers unnecessary made hype of Giani di peda lassi.. it's worthless. Its like any other normal lassi only... But the taste of kulcha land gud lassi is the one who can compete with any famous lassi of world.. We reached their in morning 8.45.. But it opens at 9.30.. that 30 min wait is worth... Though I don't like their aata kulcha and paneer masala kulcha was average.. but chola and pyaz chutney compensated for all.
Sneha A — Google review
Kulchas were good but nothing special that makes it so talked about. You may get similar kulchas anywhere in Amritsar. The staff is courteous and the service is fast. Limited menu with around 7-8 kinds of Kulchas only served with chhole and imli chutney. If you are in Ranjit Avenue you may try this however no need to travel long distances in the city just for this. We had Amritsari and Paneer Masala Kulcha.
Harshit A — Google review
We tried Amritsari Kulcha, Masala Kulcha and Panner Kulcha. Out of all Paneer Kucha is the yummiest. Masala Kulcha has to be the least liked. Gud ka Halwa was really delicious.
Aanya G — Google review
For a first time visit, it's a good stop for getting the belly filled with good food. As the name suggests they specialise in kulchas, specifically just 6. But each have their own "swad". And, when in Punjab, lassi is a must - try it is all I'm saying. Obviously to each their own, but if going along this road, do stop by.
Pargat B — Google review
i had one of the best kulchas in amritsar in the place - kulcha land.. place was very ordinary with no toilets and washroom... but the food was delicious.. we fell in love with the kulchas... i will surely visit this place again when i go back to amitsar..
Ankur K — Google review
Amazing Amritsari Kulchas. Perfectly made and served with chana and chutney. No complaints. Lassi both sweet and salty were delicious. I wish they also served Tea.
Samrat T — Google review
Taste of kulcha was adequate. The workers were cleaning table and carrying kulcha's with bare hands. Hygiene was not maintained.you would have to sit at a sharing table.
Prayas N — Google review
The place is famous but the food is ordinary. You can get ₹30- ₹40 kulcha in a normal kulcha shop .I think the price is high according to the taste and size of the kulcha. There are many people working here Hence they are charging extra for that . You can visit any nearby kulcha place instead of this . Nothing special here .IF YOU WANT TO HAVE KULCHA YOU CAN COME TO HERE . BUT IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR SOMETHING EXTRA ITS NOT THE PLACE ITS A NORMAL PLACE. The parking area is great .No toilet nearby . The size of the kulcha is small .🥘

Bhai Kulwant Singh Kulchian Wale is a decades-old eatery known for serving classic Punjabi cuisine, particularly its famous Amritsari kulchas. Located near the Golden Temple in Amritsar, this iconic joint has been satisfying locals and tourists alike for over 50 years. The delicious kulchas, served with chole and pickle, have garnered praise from food enthusiasts and tour managers. The affordability of the breakfast options adds to the appeal of this establishment.
Amazing Kulchas served hot and fresh. Limited seating but the service is quick. They have different kind of Kulchas. This place is really popular and expect to wait few minutes for your turn. We went here for breakfast and it was really good. Very good polite staff and the prices are very reasonable. Very good experience.

⭐⭐⭐ A Trusted Name for a Quick Kulcha Fix 1. Legacy & Pricing: Located near the iconic Golden Temple, Bhai Kulwant Singh Kulchian Waale has been around for years — and it clearly shows in their loyal customer base and steady footfall. It’s one of those places where you get value for money, with kulchas priced very reasonably, especially considering the location. 2. Food Experience: We tried their Aloo Kulcha and Gobi Kulcha, both served with a basic chana sabzi, onion salad, and a generous dollop of butter on top. The flavors are decent and satisfying — nothing overly fancy, but definitely good enough for a quick, fulfilling meal. 3. Extras: If you’re in the mood for a complete Punjabi treat, you can also add a glass of lassi for ₹60. Thick, sweet, and refreshing — it pairs well with the kulchas. Final Thoughts: It’s a place worth visiting once — especially if you’re looking for a budget-friendly meal with local flavors. While it may not be the best kulcha in town, it definitely holds its own with its legacy, affordability, and consistent taste over the years.
Sahil C — Google review
I had breakfast there. This is very near to golden temple. They serve types of kulchas. I tried paneer kulcha, aloo kulcha and mix kulcha , all were delicious. I highly recommend this place if you're in Amritsar.
Komal G — Google review
Being an amritsari, i know the true taste of a kulcha. This kulcha was the worst one i ever had. The first kulcha i had there was gobhi kulcha, some bites contained extreme taste of certain masalas & some were completely tasteless. Being somewhat disappointed i ordered a second one and that kulcha half of it was completely burnt & the other half was completely uncooked, complained about it & left the place fully disappointed. Feeling sad to say that the place is only left with a great name but quality has taken a big dip.
Jasmanpreet S — Google review
Loved the Kulchas here, you can get different types of Kulcha like Aloo Pyaz, Paneer, Gobhi, Mix. My go to Kulcha is Aloo Pyaz. Cholle are not too spicy which is great. Service is quick and you can ask for extra Cholle or Chutney too. Dining area is slightly smaller, can accommodate maximum 10-12 people. You can also have tea which is quite good.
Harshdeep S — Google review
They are very popular in this business and the kulchas are really good. The dine-in is a small place with shared table seating for quick access to this delicacy. This format is seen across Amritsar. Note the timings. It's unfortunate that such good food is not available throughout the day. Tourists with limited time in Amritsar might miss out on these delicacy.
Ayan P — Google review
I ordered a gobhi Kulcha, there was no salt, no spices and no taste in the Kulcha, the chhole were cold, when enquired about it, the retort was isme khatta laga Hota Hai toh garam nhi karte. I am from Amritsar from my maternal side and have eaten Kulcha virtually all good and bad places in this city, Kulwants was the worst ever. Do not recommend, unless you want to be disrespected and cheated. I would give 0 rating if there was an option.
Ajay C — Google review
Nothing Special about Kulcha here. I loved Langar food at Golden Temple and have regret that instead going to langar I went to taste this must try place. Person on cash counter denied payment of 90 Rs by UPI!!! In Gujarat, people take payment of even 10 Rs by UPI.

Very delicious Aloo- Chole- Puri. Brunch/ Lunch or even suggested for breakfast. Garma garam puri is served.

Waiting can be of upto 15mins depending on the rush. We went for saturday brunch. chole were nice but not upto the mark. Pooris were absolutely amazing. Aloo ki sabji was sweet and didnt like it at all. Halwa was nice and something different. Lassi was also great. Sabjis were refillable without any charges and after 2 pooris, each poori cost 60 each.
Shwetank K — Google review
So went in Kanha sweets to have their much hyped poori bhaji and chole. Poori were hot and fresh. Chole were average in taste. The alloo kalaunji bhaji was sweet and tangy, I personally didn't like too much sweetness but it depends on person to person and you can decide. Lassi was very good in taste and it was not very sweet. Just perfect. If you group of max 8 ppl then it should be okay, more then that then probably you have to sit separately. Service is quick and fast. Staff is attentive and polite. Prices are reasonable as per portion and quality. You may have to wait for 30 to 45 mins if you visit on weekends or public holidays. Parking is bit of a hassle. Overall it was mix experience as the hype of not worth.
Nikhil P — Google review
My experience was excellent. Everything we tried was absolutely delicious, but the standout dishes were definitely the aloo sabzi with poori chholey. The combination was flavorful and satisfying. The halwa also deserves a special mention – it was unique and incredibly tasty. A highly recommended spot for a satisfying meal!

There aren't enough words to describe how wonderful this place's poori is. If you are ever in Amritsar, you must not miss this place. Given the quality of their food, the prices are reasonable and the space is adequate. Also, the location is highly accessible. Must visit..!
Shreya A — Google review
Amritsars’s favourite breakfast place. Poori platter is the go-to for everyone here. They serve you a plate with salad Chole and Aloo sabzi which is sweet in taste. And then they serve you poori hot and fresh as they come. Do try halwa and gulab jamun after the poori breakfast. Sweets are to die for 😍
Rahul M — Google review
Food is good, especially the poori plate....but nothing outstanding, except for the tangy potato sabzi, which I haven't had anywhere else. Clean seating area, basic furniture. Do visit once for a taste.
Devendra M — Google review
Good dessert shop, I think I just don’t really like desserts here in India because most of them tasted the same. It’s very sweet, you feel the sugar under your teeth. The ones with nuts are better, more interesting than the ones that just have mostly sugar and oils. The staff didn’t know what to recommend us, and since we didn’t know about any of them we just picked randomly. They also added one more to make it to 250g. So we paid more because of that.

Monu Kulcha Hut, located on Loharka Road in the residential neighborhood of Ranjit Vihar, is a popular spot known for its authentic Indian street food experience. The eatery serves up to 2,000 crispy and flaky kulchas on a busy day, each accompanied by flavorful chole and a side of chili with lime and chopped onion. Despite its humble beginnings as a roadside stall, Monu Kulcha Hut has now transformed into an air-conditioned establishment.
I had a best crispy naan in my entire life. It's first time on our way back to city from airport we were craving to have something different in city of gurus. Our driver stopped at thus spot which seems to be simple place. I wasn't sure to give a try but th3 moment we entered the shop it's start packing up. It was full of flavors and crispy. Only - is you've to wait longer than usual waiting timing.

If you're a fan of Indian street food, then you simply can't miss out on Monu Kulcha Hut in Amritsar. Located in the bustling lanes of the city, this eatery is renowned for its crispy kulchas stuffed with a spicy potato filling, which has earned it a legion of loyal customers. The first thing that strikes you as you approach Monu Kulcha Hut is the enticing aroma of the freshly baked kulchas. The shop itself is small and unassuming, but once you take your first bite, you'll understand why it's so famous. The kulchas are perfectly baked - crispy on the outside and soft on the inside - and the filling is bursting with flavour. The spicy potato filling is the star of the show, but there are also a variety of other toppings available, including onion, paneer, and cheese. One of the unique things about Monu Kulcha Hut is that it has become so popular that people even take their kulchas with them when they travel to other cities. It's not uncommon to see people carrying boxes of these delicious kulchas on trains and buses, all the way from Amritsar to Mumbai or Bengaluru. Despite its popularity, Monu Kulcha Hut remains a humble eatery, with prices that are very reasonable. The portions are generous, and the staff are friendly and accommodating, making for a pleasant dining experience. Overall, Monu Kulcha Hut is a must-visit for anyone who loves good food. It's a true gem in the heart of Amritsar, and it's no wonder that it has earned such a loyal following.

If you looking for authentic Amritsar food, this is the place to go, an auto driver took us here and it was totally worth it. Super service and super food, loved the ambience and the place lives up to it's expectations. Enjoyed each dish and the service was really good. Really accomdating staff and they suggested the right dishes. Definitely coming back here again soon.

Really good place to eat. Doesn't look like much from outside, but once you get inside, it's a whole different experience. Very professional service and food was delicious. It is pricey in comparison to other restaurants, but service and good food do come at a price. Overall, it was a good experience.

One of the best dining experiences I’ve had in India. The fried fish, chicken reshmi kebab, and butter chicken were all exceptional—packed with flavor and perfectly cooked. The host was incredibly kind and welcoming, adding a personal touch to the meal. A visit to Amritsar wouldn’t be complete without stopping by its oldest restaurant, The Crystal Palace—highly recommended!

One of the hidden gems for chicken delicacies in Amritsar. Must go for tandoori lovers. It has a very nice ambience and sitting area with decent and smooth muci played in the background.

*Disappointing Experience at Crystal Restaurant* Rating: 1/5 I recently visited Crystal Restaurant with high expectations, but unfortunately, my experience was marred by slow service, overpriced menu items, and inconsistent food quality. The highlights of our meal were the delicious Kalmi Kebabs, which were cooked to perfection and flavorful. However, the rest of our order was a letdown. The Murg Tawa Frontier, recommended by our waiter, failed to impress and wasn't worth the steep price of Rs. 540. The dish lacked depth and flavor, leaving us wondering what justified the high cost. The Fish Biryani was a major disappointment. Instead of a traditional biryani, they served fried fish on top of biryani rice, which was unacceptable at Rs. 750. To add to our frustration, the service was slow and inattentive. When we declined to pay the service charge, our waiter's demeanor changed abruptly, leaving a sour taste. *Pros:* - Delicious Kalmi Kebabs *Cons:* - Slow service - Overpriced menu items - Poor quality of Murg Tawa Frontier and Fish Biryani - Unprofessional behavior from waiter when service charge was declined *Recommendation:* While the Kalmi Kebabs were exceptional, the overall experience was disappointing. Unless Crystal Restaurant revamps their menu and service, I would advise others to explore alternative options. *Price Range:* Overpriced (Rs. 500-Rs. 1000 per person) *Will I Return?:* Unlikely *Advice to Management:* 1. Review and adjust menu pricing to reflect quality and portion sizes. 2. Improve service efficiency and staff training. 3. Revamp menu items to ensure consistency and quality. 4. Ensure wait staff maintain professionalism, regardless of service charge decisions.

This restaurant is fooling customers by showing 30% off on Swiggy Dineout, but the actual prices on the menu are almost 2x higher than what’s shown. At billing time, they claim Crystal Restaurant and Crystal Plaza are different — yet there’s no separate board or signage. This is clearly a scam to trap and overcharge outstation customers. It’s deceptive, unethical, and must be escalated.

Large menu. The food was good but expensive. The chicken and mutton dishes we ordered were very tasty. Good portion sizes. The service was very attentive but communication in English was a struggle. Good alcoholic drink choices.

This place is clean and you will see many non-Indian tourists. Large menu. The food was good but expensive. My wife's fried shrimp was a generous portion while my Lamb Josh Rogan was rather small. Good choices for alcoholic beverages. The service was good but a little pushy. As others have mentioned, there is a 10% service charge added to the bill so we didn't leave an additional tip. I hope that 10% went to the employees.

Giani Tea Stall, located on Cooper Road near the Bhandari Bridge, is a beloved spot for locals and travelers alike. The stall offers a variety of delectable treats such as kachories, samosas, gulab jamuns, paneer pakoras, warm butter buns, and an all-day breakfast meal of bread omelette loaded with assorted veggies.
we started our day with Giani tea stall.. tea.. we tried their tea and kachori.. while eating we were trying to figure out it's filling from aaloo to daal. but we failed.. finally we asked the owner uncle what's the filling of kachori he said it's of mung daal.. and mere alawan is filling me koi nahi bana sakda.. he was prof of his creation and we were by eating it.. bring a tea lover i must say it's an unforgettable tea of my life..

The tea is really different and good in taste as compared to others. We had their special badam tea and kachoris. Kachoris were a little oily however good to eat. Tea was perfectly made. Seating is limited and parking may be an issue here. The tea is made live and you can cherish the process. Payment in cash only, so have some of it.

I recently visited a very famous tea point in Amritsar, and I must say it truly deserves its reputation. The place has a lively and welcoming atmosphere, filled with the aroma of freshly brewed tea and the chatter of happy customers. Despite being quite crowded, the service was impressively quick and well-coordinated — the staff were polite, attentive, and ensured every customer was served properly. I ordered their regular tea, bun maska, and bread omelette. The tea had the perfect balance of flavor and aroma — strong, refreshing, and comforting at the same time. The bun maska was soft, buttery, and complemented the tea beautifully, while the bread omelette was cooked just right — fluffy and flavorful with a homely touch. Every item tasted fresh and was served hot, which really added to the overall experience. The only downsides I noticed were that the prices felt a bit on the higher side for such a casual setup, and parking around the area can be a bit tricky, especially during busy hours. However, considering the taste, service, and overall vibe of the place, it’s definitely worth visiting at least once. A great spot for tea lovers and anyone who enjoys authentic, flavorful snacks.
Dhruv S — Google review
We visited Giani Tea Stal. We went around 7:30 PM and ordered Tea (₹35 each), Bun Maska (₹80 each), and Paneer Pakora (₹230). The food was tasty the paneer was soft, the bun maska nicely toasted, and the tea had that strong, classic Amritsari flavor. But when you look at the overall ambience and pricing, it does feel a bit overhyped. The setup is simple, and I personally felt the prices were on the higher side for what you get. We couldn’t find a proper place to wash hands (maybe we missed it), and cleanliness could definitely be better especially if you’re particular about it. Overall, it’s worth visiting once to experience the local vibe and try their famous tea, but don’t go in with high expectations

Absolutely wonderful experience for my first visit to Amritsar and my first food experience coming directly from the airport. Kachori and tea from this famous establishment. Amazing.
Patrick W — Google review
If there’s one place in Amritsar that perfectly captures the essence of Punjabi warmth and old-school charm, it’s Giani Tea Stall. Tucked in one of the city’s bustling lanes, this little gem serves comfort on a plate and nostalgia in a cup. Our visit turned out to be one of the most delightful food experiences we’ve had in a long time. We started with their omelette — fluffy, perfectly seasoned, and cooked to golden perfection. It paired beautifully with the soft ban maska, generously buttered and toasted just right, making each bite a simple yet indulgent treat. The kachori was another highlight — crisp on the outside, stuffed with a flavorful, spiced filling, and served with their amazing chutney, which deserves a special mention. The chutney had that perfect tangy-sweet-spicy balance that elevated everything on the plate. But what truly makes Giani Tea Stall special is, of course, their tea. We tried three varieties — dry fruit tea, badam tea, and their special tea. Each had its own distinct charm. The dry fruit tea was rich and aromatic, infused with subtle nutty notes. The badam tea felt luxurious, smooth, and heartwarming — like comfort in a cup. And the special tea — bold, creamy, and fragrant — was the perfect finale, embodying the classic Amritsari chai experience. The place has a timeless vibe — humble yet full of character, bustling with locals and travelers alike. Giani Tea Stall isn’t just about food; it’s about tradition, simplicity, and the joy of good taste. A must-visit spot in Amritsar for anyone who appreciates authentic flavors and heartfelt hospitality.

If you're on a culinary adventure in Amritsar, make sure to stop by Pehalwan Kulcha Shop, nestled in the vibrant Walled City. This iconic eatery has been serving up delicious Amritsari kulchas since 1952, thanks to its founder, Pehalwan Atma Ram. He transformed the traditional Peshawari khameeri roti into what we now cherish as the Amritsari naan.
Best kulche & chole i had ever. Kulche were so tasty that no one can stop eat one. As i visited this place in navratre time so they were not using garlic & onion in food but the taste was 100%. Glad to see that without garlic & onion they can deliver such a wonderfull taste. I will definately reapeat here whenever i am in amritsar. Kulche here were mind blowing it is a must try. Specially mixed kulcha. Highly recommended if you are in amritsar.

How would you know that you have the real deal? Just follow the locals for great food Kulcha is asked for in 2 choices normal or spicy, honestly from my opinion spicy one was mildly hot. But food was awesome no other words Chole was so refreshing and tasty, it was like a flavour bomb. Don't miss this place.
Nagesh M — Google review
This place serves the best ever kulcha on Planet Earth. I'd say Spicy Kulcha from Pehalwan is my favourite thing to eat in all of India. If you're in Amritsar and ask for one dish to try, I'd say this is the place to be. They offer two varieties of Kulcha (Medium and Spicy), I'd recommend you to go with Spicy. The chole served along with the Kulcha goes well with it. I'm writing this review at a place 3000 Km away from Pehalwan Kulcha, 75 days after I had tried it and still just the thought of it makes me drool. I was at Amritsar for two days and on both days, Pehalwan's spicy kulcha was the first thing I ate in the morning. This goes into my list of "Things to eat in India before you die". This is a traditional place and is a bit crowded hence you'd have to wait about 30 mins to 1 hr irrespective of whether you're dining in or taking away.
Srivathsan — Google review
Visited this famous spot in Amritsar recently — found it trending on Google and decided to try it out. To be honest, the place felt a bit overhyped. The taste? Absolutely amazing! One of the best kulchas I’ve had — no doubt about that. But when it comes to hygiene, the experience was disappointing. It was hot and sweaty inside, with barely any proper place to sit. None of the staff seemed well-dressed or professionally managed. Considering it’s a tourist spot and attracts a lot of visitors, they really need to improve the cleanliness and ambience. With a little attention to these details, this place could become so much better. But if you’re going just for the taste — it’s totally worth it!
Mayank K — Google review
If you're a food lover, then you should not miss the “Pehlwan Kucha”. You don't need to find him, just ask any e-rickshaw or auto driver, he will drop you there. It says that the original taste of the kulcha belongs to Amritsar, giving its unique name “Amritsari Kulcha” When we arrived at Pehalwan Kulcha, we found it jam packed from inside. So, we had to wait 15-20 minutes to get a seat but it was all worth it when it came to taste. A tourist from Sydney (Australia) also joined our table to enjoy that kulcha. During the conversation he told me that his friend recommended him to visit there. I would also recommend you to visit there if you adding Amritasar in your travel list. Have a super day, Keep sharing your experience.

Ashok Kulche Wala is a popular open roadside stall known for serving mouthwatering crispy kulchas. The Mixed Kulcha and Aloo Kulcha are particularly heavenly, with a perfect balance of softness inside and buttery crispiness outside. Despite the high waiting times, the quality and taste of the kulchas make it worth it. The seating area may be limited, but the delicious kulchas more than make up for it.
The kulchas were amazing. It was super crispy and tasty. Along with kulche they serve chole and onions dipped in a imli chutney. Everything together tasted awesome. Another note, it’s a small dhaba and you might need to wait for 20-25 min after placing the order as they prepare the kulcha fresh. Amazing experience and very much recommended. Please visit when you are in Amritsar. We ordered mix, gobhi and paneer kulcha and those were good in taste. You can try there other dishes as well!
Sweety B — Google review
I am disappointed to report that my second visit to Ashok Mathi Kulcha was a far cry from the exceptional experience I had during my first visit. Back then, they operated from a rehri, and their mathi (crispy) kulcha was truly delicious. Fast forward to today, and they've shifted to a nearby shop. I was excited to indulge in their signature dish once again, but unfortunately, it failed to impress. The mathi kulcha I ordered was nothing special – the kulcha itself, the filling, and the accompanying chane (chickpeas) were all strictly average. What's more disappointing is that this type of kulcha is readily available at many shops in Amritsar, and Ashok Mathi Kulcha's version didn't stand out in any way. The quality seems to have taken a hit since their relocation, and I couldn't help but feel underwhelmed. Perhaps they were having an off day, but based on this experience, I can only give them 2 stars. If you're craving authentic Amritsari kulchas, you might want to explore other options.
Arun C — Google review
The place is good and the food was awesome. I was on a tour to Amritsar and someone recommended this place and it was really great. They make your kulcha once you give your order. Which is very great, not some ready to eat food. And they serve it hot, with chole and chutney. Loved. Recommended. Cheers.
Dipankar S — Google review
If you want to experience the best kulchas, then this place should be at the top of your list. As someone from Amritsar, I can confidently say that the crunchy kulchas here are unbeatable. You have to try the mix kulcha with butter on top - it's simply delicious. It's no surprise that this place is a Sunday feast for many families in Amritsar. However, the limited seating area and cramped parking can be a hassle. Despite that, I highly recommend this place for its mouth-watering kulchas. Don't miss it!

I was in Amritsar for 2 weeks and visited the place 3 times. Took guests from the US too. The small matthi kulchas are awesome. Just make sure to park your car on the main road and walk to the kulcha place. A Thums Up with the Kulcha is a must. On weekends expect delay of 45 to 90 min to get your kulchas so patience is a must.

Aadarsh, a renowned non-veg food joint in Amritsar, lives up to its fame with a mouthwatering selection of dishes that cater to the cravings of meat lovers. During my visit, I had the opportunity to try some of their signature dishes, and they certainly left a lasting impression. The BRAIN CURRY was a standout delicacy. Its rich and aromatic flavors combined with the unique texture of dish for an unforgettable experience. A must-try for adventurous eaters. TheMUTTON TIKKE was another gem on their menu. Tender pieces of mutton marinated to perfection and cooked to melt-in-the-mouth tenderness And then there were the MUTTON CHAMP , a true delight for the taste buds. The flavors were robust, and the meat was incredibly succulent. It's no wonder these are a favorite among locals and tourists alike. My Friend ate at this place ten years ago when it was just a roadside stall and remembered the taste to the day that I was asked to try this and put it on top of my food list. The place didn’t disappoint. It’s located in a good square with tons of parking but it gets difficult to find a spot over the weekend. The mutton champ is the best thing I’ve tasted. Kheema was ok, too much oil for my taste. Kulchas were fresh and served hot as ordered. There are 3-4 tables and the fan is amazingly fast and could double down as portable AC. Beera Chicken House, located in Amritsar, is a must-visit for chicken lovers. The restaurant offers a variety of tantalizing dishes such as butter chicken, roasted chicken, and chicken tikka. The aroma of succulent chicken pieces hanging from skewers will captivate your senses as you step inside. The tandoori chicken, marinated with an assortment of spices and cooked to perfection in a clay oven, is a definite highlight.
This was the best chicken I've had in India. The roasted chicken was amazing, served with raw onions and lime. Also ordered the butter chicken, the balance of flavours was amazingly done and I couldn't have hoped for better tasting food. Ordered a variety of breads including the naan which was good as well. Service was quick and efficient, there isn't really any vibe or atmosphere in the restaurant, it's pretty stale but you're mostly there for the food anyways so it was fine.

This was suggested as the best chicken and non-veg food in Amritsar, however the food tasted pretty average. We ordered tandoori chicken and karahi chicken, both if which were quoted by the server as the best on their menu but both dishes were underwhelming. If I have to rated one over the other, I would say Tandoori chicken was better.

This was my second visit to Beera, the last one being back in 2011. We preferred the following items: 1. Tandoori Chicken - Taste 4.5/5, Hygiene:2/5 - visible blood stains on chicken, served in an aluminium foil. 2. Butter chicken- 2/5 - This is not what buttery chicken should taste like. It was watery and extremely forgettable. 3. Dal Makhani - 1/5 - Loads and loads of salt. Had to throw it away. Overall, my experience fell a bit short of my expectations, considering how impressed I was back in 2011. I can now say, I would Dabeli skip this one my my future visits to Amritsar.

Update 20/8/25 I was in Amritsar and had to visit this place again for the delicious food. It's still good, but since I've tried so many other places, it's not as outstanding as I remember it being. Still, I love how unique and juicy the food remains. It's definitely still worth a visit if you're in Amritsar. It's a perfect family-friendly spot. Old review 2020: The best butter chicken I had in a while. I have read the reviews that the butter chicken is very sweet here but to my surprise, it was not sweet at all. I love the gravy, had all the masala and chicken was soo well cooked and so soft. Definitely the best cooked chicken I ever had in my life. Worth the hype and every penny. The green chutney they serve is made with hand (not in mixer) taste sooo delicious with your food. Can’t wait to visit again. 5/5 Highly Recommended

Novelty Sweets & Restaurant is a must-visit spot in Amritsar, located at the corner of Lawrence Rd. and Mall Rd. The place offers a variety of delicious treats such as chole puri that locals swear by for its rich flavors and layers. It's a great place to stop by with family for quick bites like chats and sweets, offering a wide range of options with consistent quality.
Had ordered Sohan Pappdi. Excellent taste. Packing also neat and clean. Highly recommend.

- Puri choley is fine (Nothing like Wow!) - Good thing is use of spices is moderate - I tried lassi (it is also fine) - Service is good. Staff is nice and polite - Rate of menu is fine - They levied service charge. That is optional - You have to park on the footpath - Overall average experience nothing great

I always have Dahi Bhalla here. They are just best. Sweets are a bit overpriced and I'm not sure if they make it in pure ghee. So, never tried their sweets.

My last visit to this restaurant was a bit disappointing. Although they have an extensive and impressive menu, the food served did not meet my expectations in terms of taste and quality. I also noticed that the cutlery was not cleaned properly, which affected the overall dining experience. However, the ambience of the place is quite decent and pleasant. I hope they work on improving the food quality and hygiene, as the restaurant has good potential.

I’m extremely disappointed with the experience. I received a call from one of your agent "Ria" who misled me into making a purchase under false information. The details provided during the call were completely different from what I received after the transaction. This feels like a clear case of fraudulent selling, and it’s completely unacceptable. Later, I found out it was a scam. There was no support or accountability from the Novelty platform. This has completely broken my trust in Novelty online shopping through this site. Its my last shopping with Novelty Sweets.
Radha M — Google review
I visited Novelty thinking it was a pure veg and clean restaurant. I ordered a paneer dosa and to my shock I found a big hair inside it on my very first few bites. I complained politely and the waitress apologized and replaced it. However, when I ordered the same dish again I found hair again in the dosa. I complained once more still politely but by then I had lost my appetite. I had been traveling all day, hadn’t eaten for 8–9 hours and was extremely hungry but after this experience I felt nauseous and disgusted. I decided not to order food anymore and just asked for a cup of coffee. Instead of showing true concern or offering compensation they even overcharged me for the coffee. The only positive I noticed was that the washrooms were clean but the food hygiene was unacceptable. Finding hair in my food twice is shocking and disappointing especially in Amritsar near the Golden Temple where people expect a higher standard of cleanliness and trust in pure veg restaurants. What if I hadn’t noticed and accidentally eaten it? Hygiene is non-negotiable and this experience was highly disappointing. I will never ever visit this restaurant again. I absolutely hate it. This is very bad and far below even basic standards. Highly unhygienic, highly irresponsible and a complete waste of money. Overall: I do not recommend Novelty for food.

Sweets are off varied quality and there are a lot of different delicacies to choose from. Minor complaint regarding the management which is a bit sore during peak hours and can improve upon the same.

Their methai tastes so awful. They are known top 1 methai shop in amritsar but every time we bought methai it's very ddisappointing. It tastes spoiled like it's been sitting in the shop for days and they have always prepackaged to sell so consumers won't notice that it's old.

Pappi Di Hatti is a renowned restaurant in Amritsar, known for its wide variety of delicious dishes. The menu offers an extensive selection, with standout items such as Butter Chicken, Dal Makhni, Rara Chicken, Chole Kulche, crispy Amritsari Kulchas, and flavourful Chole. This humble eatery has gained popularity for its authentic Punjabi cuisine at affordable prices.
*Pappi Di Hatti, Amritsar* I recently visited **Pappi Di Hatti** in Amritsar and had a mixed yet mostly enjoyable dining experience. We started with **stuffed mushrooms**, which were a highlight of the meal. They were perfectly stuffed with paneer and hung curd, and garnished with chili onions—absolutely delicious! The **Afghani chaap** was also quite good, with a nice balance of flavors. For the main course, we ordered **Shahi Paneer**, **Dal Makhni**, and **Yellow Dal**, accompanied by chapatis and butter lacha parathas. Unfortunately, the Shahi Paneer, served in a white gravy made of cashew, didn’t quite meet expectations. The flavor was somewhat lacking. However, both dals were flavorful and satisfying, making up for the paneer. The butter lacha paratha was rich and complemented the dishes well. The meal was served with **mint chutney**, which added a refreshing touch to the overall experience. While there were a few ups and downs, I’d say it’s worth visiting, especially for their starters and dal dishes.

2points I observed here which I want to post here, Food quality is low comparing with ranjit avenue restaurants. Food is tough to eat and prices are over charged for not so good quality. (Food got wasted) I was more surprise this eating place charging you for disposables with their own name mentioning. Recommendations to restaurant management Kindly check the food quality with the price along with the unauthorised disposables charges.

New Friends Dhaba, located on Queens Road, is a bustling street-side joint known for its meaty and filling dishes. The shop attracts heavy foot traffic with its popular lamb and chicken dishes cooked with generous amounts of spice and masala. Their Keema Naan with gravy and butter is a must-try, featuring a crispy exterior and spicy keema mix. While the ambience may not be exceptional, it's recommended for those looking for hearty meals rather than quick bites.
One of the best places/restaurants I have ever visited in Punjab. That desi vibe, that traditional food, service, staff, owner, everything is just too good. Firstly we ordered food and it came after a alot of wait, and the quality of food was 0/10, even the person who was sitting at counter ordered from other restaurant via zomato, the atmosphere was not family friendly at all, people were teasing, speaking loudly. When we want to order something the waiter is not nearby we have to call them at counter or wait or sometimes they don't listen. Yes it was cheap but not worth it at all, most of the things were not even available which is a more worse thing. From my side I will rate it 0 Star out of five, I'm just awaring families who want to eat at restaurant, if you don't believe then try yourself and suffer like us.

Came here for dinner. Didn’t have much expectations. The place is extremely unhygienic. I found a big stone in Palak Paneer. God knows what else gets into the food in the kitchen at the back. The waiter was friendly though, but it didn’t matter. I would never come here again, I urge anyone considering to visit this to think ten times before stepping in.

The food here is kinda good in taste but the quantity is way too less for many things like the Manchow soup like not sufficient for a single person. Plus, the service is good, atmosphere is also kind of okay but random additions to the bill are way too much. Paying all of it would've been fine if the experience with food was worth it.

#amritsardiaries My top choice for Amritsari Kulcha remains Monu Kulcha Hut but that's situated almost at outskirts of city and is extremely crowded. Besides seating isn't that upmarket for family visits.... so my second best choice as always remains Sanjha Chulha Amritsar situated at the most happening Lawrance Road area. It has air-conditioned seating with reasonably acceptable hygiene and overall good package with excellent fast service. We ordered our usual favourite Aaloo Pyaaz Kulcha and additionally ordered Mix Kulcha. Both are flawlessly perfect with flaky and crisp texture. Filling is adequate and flavourful. Channa are mild and well cooked without any excessive addition of Soda Bicarbonate. Chatani is well balanced without being over spicy. It's a great kulcha overall and is highly recommended. We also got few Kulcha packed for Delhi and kept enjoying them for next few days by reheating them. Not as good as the freshly served ones but still better than all other options available in Delhi NCR. The last 3 pictures are of reheated kulchas clicked back home at Delhi. Tips to follow if you plan to get Amritsari Kulcha packed.... ▪︎Ask vendor not to apply butter on top ▪︎Cool kulcha and channa in open condition to reach room temperature before sealed packing them ▪︎Avoid packing Chatani for being liquidy... it tends to leak and gets spoiled very quickly ▪︎Store kulcha and chana in refrigerator (Not freezer) ▪︎Reheating tip... heat each kulcha for 20 seconds each side in microwave followed by roasting on each side over low gas flame. ▪︎Apply butter on top after completion of reheating ▪︎Heat channa in microwave Bon Appétit

People who love to eat are always the best people😄. I normally don’t write reviews but this place stands out. It is clean , friendly service and great food. The menu offers a wide variety of delicious and mouth watering starters followed by the main course , specially designed for youngsters and adults. I had Singaporean Noodles , Tandoori Malai Broccoli and Cheese Steak. I don’t think anyone makes better Singaporean Noodles here in this area. My friends tried Murg Kandhari tikka , honey pepper paneer , grilled chicken with lemon butter sauce and Golgappas (water puff). The different sort of recipe i found there is butter paneer and butter chicken Gol-gappas that are incredibly yumm 😋. I would highly recommend this place to every single person who ask me for best veg or non veg food in Amritsar.

Sabri Bhatura Shop is a popular spot in Amritsar known for serving delicious and affordable brunch options. Despite being located on the main highway with basic ambience, the dining area is relatively clean and equipped with air conditioning. Customers appreciate the reasonable prices and generous portions of food.
We had a perfect Chole Bathura and Nutri kulcha at this place. Also Gulab Jamoon was amazing. Would suggest people to try this when you are at Amritsar.

Though the food is not as impressive as the other reviews suggest, I don't have any complaints either. The Chola Bathura was true to its taste and the quantity felt value for money. Located on the main highway, the ambience of this place is pretty basic. They have an open kitchen in the front which is naked and exposed to the dust of the highway. The dining area is relatively clean and has air conditioning too. They have few tables which can accommodate a decent crowd. Service was quite fast and attentive. Hygiene factors can improve a lot, especially at the cooking area. They accept UPI payments. You can try it once for the local taste. But I wouldn't recommend it for repeated visits. -BeingBakasura

Following an extended absence, I encountered Sabri's establishment. Approximately a decade ago, I frequented their previous location near the railway station, enjoying their chhole bhature two to three times weekly. While the quality was exceptional then, the signature taste appears diminished at this new location. Although still palatable, it lacks its former excellence.

Brothers Dhaba is a vibrant and casual dining spot that offers a variety of vegetarian northern Indian dishes. Situated near the Golden Temple in Amritsar, it's a popular choice for those craving authentic North Indian cuisine. The menu features favorites like Aloo Gobi, Paneer Butter Masala, and creamy Dal Makhani. With its bustling atmosphere, generous portions, and warm hospitality, Brothers Dhaba is a must-visit for food enthusiasts exploring the area.
Brothers Dhaba – Where Comfort Food Gets a Punjabi Punch Born out of the same culinary roots as its elder sibling, Brothers Dhaba brings its own flavor to the table — quite literally. While it shares the legacy, it carves a different path, blending tradition with a touch of home-style flair. Step inside and you’re welcomed with aromas that feel instantly familiar — like walking into your grandma’s kitchen on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Let’s talk Kadhi Chawal. It’s got that perfect tang, poured over fluffy rice, and finished with a drizzle of desi ghee that ties it all together. A side of crisp onions adds the crunch you didn’t know you needed. It’s comfort food that hugs you back. And the Rajma Chawal? Oh, it’s dreamy. Silky-soft kidney beans in a rich, slow-cooked gravy that’s clearly made with love and a lot of patience. The kind of rajma that doesn't need bells or whistles — just a spoon, a quiet moment, and maybe a nap afterward. Brothers Dhaba doesn’t just serve food — it serves nostalgia, in generous portions. Pro Move: Sneak in that extra plate of Kadhi Chawal. Even if you’re full, you’ll find the space. And yes, it’s totally worth it. 📍Located right by Town Hall, Amritsar — sharing walls with legacy, but standing strong on its own.

There are lot of mixed reviews of this place but the place is actually good to dine. The food is fantastic with authentic flavours. Daal Makhni, Paneer, Chhole everything is wonderful. Lachha parathas are very unique and crispy, not eaten anywhere else in the country. Staff is very friendly and serves you really well. Serving time is not long. The desserts however are average and can be avoided. Food here is a must try, specially their thali. Highly Recommended. Located right in vicinity if Golden Temple, you are very likely to love their food.

Had a great experience at Brother’s Dhaba in Amritsar! The food was flavorful and satisfying, but the highlight for me was definitely the amazing Amritsari Kulche—crispy on the outside, perfectly stuffed, and served with delicious chole and chutney. The mango lassi was another winner—thick, creamy, and refreshing, just the way it should be. Portion sizes were generous, making it great value for money. The place has a casual, lively vibe and quick service too. A must-visit if you’re in Amritsar and craving authentic Punjabi food!
Soumee B — Google review
A must-visit spot near the Golden Temple for anyone craving authentic Punjabi comfort food. The chole bhature, rajma chawal, and paneer dishes are full of flavor and generously portioned. Service is quick and efficient, even during rush hours. The place is usually crowded, but the turnaround time is fast, making it ideal for tourists on the go. 💡 Tip: Try the lassi — it's thick, creamy, and served chilled in a steel tumbler. Best visited during early lunch or late dinner hours to avoid long queues.

This place serves amazing Amritsari kulcha and choor choor naan. The food tastes really good and is of good quality. The restaurant is nicely decorated and the service is quick. The prices are a bit high, but it's worth it for the delicious food. This is on the way to wagha border and will recommend this place than any other places for kulchas.
Bhargav M — Google review
I recently visited this restaurant and had a very unpleasant experience. While eating, I discovered a black worm on my plate, right in the middle of the food. This is completely unacceptable and raises serious concerns about the hygiene and food safety standards of this place. Despite the food being otherwise decent, such a lapse in cleanliness cannot be ignored. It not only ruined the meal but also made me question how the kitchen is being maintained. I hope the management takes immediate action to improve hygiene and ensure this does not happen to anyone else. Customers trust you with their health — don’t take it lightly. Not recommended unless they take visible corrective steps.

Brijwasi Chat Bhandar, located near Ranjit Avenue C Block Market in Amritsar, is a popular spot for those craving authentic Indian street food. The stall offers a variety of chaat items such as Papdi Chaat, Golgappa, Kachori, Samosa Chaat, and Dahi Bhalla. Known for its flavorful offerings and fresh ingredients, this bustling eatery is especially renowned for its fusion bun tikki.
Woah! What a crazy bun tikki i had here. This place is surely worth a visit if you’re in Amritsar. They serve chaat and bun tikki. Chaat is average in taste but the bun tikki that they prepare is just out of the box. They have sitting capacity of 10-15 people inside and a lot of people enjoy it at their counter, in their cars and takeaways. PS : They do not have AC at dining place, be wise while you travel
Ankur V — Google review
Being in Lucknow, you get a classic taste of tikki batasha. here chat was different. Bun tikki was good in taste. Its like similar to you get in Indore veg benzo. But here you get different taste imli khatti meethi chutney. Items I had: Batasha: 4.5/5 very different taste, filling had lots of red chutni + boiled potato+ chana. Paani was also good. But 60rs for 8 batasha is too expensive, even you eat at most expensive place in up. Bun tikki: 4/5 they didn't had long bun, but it was like desi burger without veg. Taste was good but little at higher expensive side. Mix chat: there were no flavours in chat. Just few papdi + curd + chutni. 2/5. Overall chat is good with different taste with high cost. For tax saving they take only cash payment. They dont have any mode of online payment. So I had to pay cash.
Ankit A — Google review
my visit to Amritsar and craving for Chaat, well this is obvious. So I went to this place and ordered, honestly I didn't like the taste. The curd was sour like the laste was hitting. Rs 60 for 5 small pieces of papadi and just one Wada was not worth it. I prefer to eat something else.
Aakash A — Google review
Tried the most hyped bun tikki. The bun bread was so fresh and soft , haven't found bread like this before. Bun tikki is very amazing and must try.
RAGHAV L — Google review
Only bun tikki is good , baaki this place is just hyped up.
Karan S — Google review
their bun tikki, dry fruit dahi bhalla, bhalla papdi is super yummy and musty try if you are in amritsar. the food is hygenic and the owner is very polite attends every guest very nicely.

We tried their famous double bun tikki and mix chaat. The food was awesome anf their double bun tikki is a must try!
Ranya V — Google review
I had high expectations for this restaurant, given its popularity and reputation for serving authentic chaat. the food didn’t quite live up to the hype. The flavors of the chaat felt underwhelming and lacked the tangy, spicy punch I was hoping for. Overall, it was an average experience that didn’t justify the buzz surrounding the place.

Makhan Fish and Chicken Hut is a popular dining spot known for its cozy atmosphere and diverse menu featuring Indian and Chinese cuisine. The restaurant offers an array of dishes including Butter Chicken, Mutton Masala, Tandoori Chicken, Mutton Biryani, Amritsari Fish, and more. Established in 1962, it has gained recognition for its signature Amritsari fish fry which has been featured on various food shows.
Makhan fish is the best veg and non veg restaurant in Amritsar. I have ordered Makhan fish..they served tandoori fish with mint chanti.
Avinash K — Google review
Let me start with - very good people. The owner at the counter and the staff were very welcoming. This place is well known for fish, we found the fish to be very fresh and good (but didn’t have the wow !! factor), maybe because fish is a staple food for us at home. We had tandoori chicken- it’s was super amazing. Would certainly recommend it and also kali daal. The place has a bar which was full. If you are in Amritsar and on food quest, do consider adding this place in your list. (P.S the family dining hall is upstairs and there are no elevator. Something to consider if anyone in your group is not good with stairs)
Subroto D — Google review
We had dinner in this place during our Amritsar visit. Overall it was good experience, food we ordered were good in taste specially fish items. It was crowded and you may need to wait sometime because of the crowd. If you are in Amritsar and want to try good fish items this place would be a nice option. We tried veg items also. Those also tasted good. Easily accessible via local auto or cab from nearby locations.
Sumi M — Google review
Place was easy to find and we came here based on recommendation recieved from reddit, chilli chicken, butter chicken was damn good Tandoor fish was a highlight, staff was attentive and happy to help. Except for the biryani rest all items were good If your looking for tandoori items then this is the place to visit
Nagesh M — Google review
Food is no doubt good, but pricey for the ambience and this is a cash only place if you pay them by card or upi they will charge 7% extra. Don't understand the logic behind that.
Mohnish S — Google review
It is hotel in the name of Makhani fish and chicken at old jail road beauty avenue Amritsar, A big sitting available here for Bar and seperate hall for families. Fish amritsari and fish tandoori tikka are tasty and delicious, Rara chicken and tawa chicken are very tasty veg/non veg and Chinese available here tandoori chicken malai tikka, chicken lollipop, mutton champ, rice garlic chicken, shahi paneer mix veg and other varieties available here . Overall it is good money value restaurant.
MANMOHAN S — Google review
Makhan Fish – ⭐⭐☆☆☆ (2/10) Overhyped and disappointing. Tried their most recommended Fish recipe and Tandoori Chicken, but both failed to meet even basic standards. The experience was far from what social media makes it out to be. Honestly, not worth wasting time visiting this place. Mind it they only accept Cash payment - Chef Aj

I had ordered tandoori fish it is half cooked and cannot be consumed the worst fish i have had in years The owner refuses to acknowledge the same I suggest no one go to eat this rotten fish I got it packed and when I reached my hotel I realised that i had been duped with raw fish

Nestled in the vibrant city of Amritsar, Bittu Meat Wala is a charming little eatery that has carved out a niche for itself among non-vegetarian food enthusiasts. Founded by S Davinder Singh Bittu, this cozy spot is renowned for its mouthwatering array of meat dishes.
If you are a meat lover and visiting Amritsar, this place is not to be missed at all. Ultimate Mutton Barra, never had such good one ever. The quality is exceptional, its extremely soft, not chewy and not dry, absolutely perfect. The fish was a pleasant surprise, And to top it all, the Garlic Naan, cut into small pieces, yumilicious. Mr. Jasmeet, owner personally takes care of each and every customer coming. Do not expect a great place but food, awesome. I am very confident that you shall love it.

We ordered their chicken tikka and mutton burra. Fell in love with chicken tikka but the mutton was chewy. They serve it with green chutney and onions aling with lemon, everything adds up to the taste. Must try, must visit, worth !!
June B — Google review
As a hardcore Punjabi and non-vegetarian, I had really high expectations from this place — unfortunately, it turned out to be disappointing on both fronts. The food lacked the bold flavors I was hoping for, and the overall vibe of the place didn’t live up to the hype either.
ARIZA — Google review
Tried the mutton barra, malai tikka and chicken tikka. Would definitely recommend chicken items over the mutton. The mutton was soft and juicy and the chicken was just superb. The mutton is a little pricey
Utkarsh A — Google review
I tried the much sought after Mutton Burra. I was pleasantly surprised. One of the most delicious and softest muttons I have ever tried. The meat literally melted in my mouth. Intrigued to try other savouries.
Harshdeep S — Google review
Few years back taste of mutton was really good. Took my wife proudly to eat best mutton but turn out Worst mutton i ever had. It was smelling so bad and was not even cooked. Green chutney tasted like plastic. Came home and mid night both suffering from food poisoning.

Recommended by my best friend and love their Roasted Mutton in the tandoor which becomes one of my favourite BBQ food of my life, I will always go there for Roasted Mutton whenever I will be in Amritsar as well as will recommended to my friends and relatives

Overprice and not good for family……they charged 1080 for mutton burra … that is not worth as quantity was less or I think may be the person who brought food to my car had been told me wrong price and took advance payment

Very calm place. Cafe Coffee Day (CCD) is an Indian coffeehouse chain known for its wide variety of coffee and other beverages, as well as a menu featuring snacks and desserts. The quality of your experience at CCD can vary by location, but here are some common points from reviews as per my visit: **Pros:** 1. **Wide Beverage Menu:** CCD offers a diverse range of coffee and non-coffee beverages, catering to different preferences. 2. **Affordable:** It's often seen as a budget-friendly option for enjoying coffee and snacks. 3. **Convenient Locations:** CCD outlets are widely distributed across India, making them accessible in many areas. 4. **Cosy Ambience:** Many customers appreciate the comfortable and cozy atmosphere at CCD outlets, making them suitable for meetings, study sessions, or casual hangouts. 5. **Variety of Snacks:** In addition to coffee, CCD serves a selection of snacks, including sandwiches and pastries. **Cons:** 1. **Inconsistent Quality:** Some customers have reported inconsistency in the taste and quality of beverages and snacks from one outlet to another. 2. **Pricing:** While considered affordable, some find the pricing slightly higher compared to local coffee shops. 3. **Crowded:** Popular CCD outlets can get crowded, making it difficult to find a quiet spot during peak hours. 4. **Service:** The level of service may vary, with occasional complaints about slow service or inattentive staff. Keep in mind that the quality and experience at CCD can differ from one location to another, so it's a good idea to read recent reviews or ask locals for recommendations if you're planning to visit a specific outlet.
