Ruth's Chris Steak House is an upscale American steakhouse chain known for its sizzling, butter-topped beef served in an elegant setting. The Baton Rouge location exudes a traditional steakhouse ambiance with mahogany and oak decor, intimate lighting, and a display of an impressive wine selection. Guests can indulge in their signature steaks and fresh seafood while enjoying the cozy lounge area with an open fireplace.
Ruth’s Chris Steak House – Baton Rouge, LA If you’re looking for a consistently amazing dining experience, Ruth’s Chris in Baton Rouge never disappoints. The food is absolutely top-notch, every dish is prepared with care, but the star of the show is always the steak. No matter how many times I go, it’s always cooked to perfection, just the way I like it. That kind of consistency is rare, and it keeps me coming back. The service is just as impressive. The waitstaff is respectful, attentive, and genuinely helpful without ever feeling overbearing. The bartenders know what they’re doing too, friendly, professional, and they make a great drink. One of my favorite things about this location is the atmosphere. The lighting is dim and cozy, creating a relaxed, intimate vibe that makes dinner feel like an occasion. I really appreciate that kind of environment, no harsh lights, no distractions, just great food and a calm space to enjoy it in. Overall, it’s one of the few places where the food, service, and setting all line up to create a truly enjoyable evening every time. Highly recommend.

My husband and I love coming here for date night! I actually found my favorite wine here and I’m extremely picky. They even let me do a taste test first, which I really appreciated. The service was so sweet and welcoming, and the food was absolutely AMAZING. Can’t wait to come back! 🍷✨

Service was awesome. Came here for my. Birthday with friends and I was very welcomed and taken care of! Caesar Salad was 9/10!

The fried calamari was very good with the sauce on top. We visited Ruth's Chris for our 10th anniversary they surprise us with a cheesecake that tasted delicious.
Author M — Google review
Came here for a celebration with my boyfriend. I appreciate that they asked before seating us, as everyone we encountered congratulated us. Our server Roxanne was wonderful. Knowledgeable about the menu, patient since this was our first time in, and accommodating. I HIGHLY recommend the fried calamari. I am a tough calamari critic and frequently order it wherever I go. This was THE best calamari I’ve ever had; fried crispy, with the squid still being tender. The sauce is like a sweet chili and you cannot skip the lemon squeeze. 100/10. The Veal Osso Buco Ravioli was tasty with the sautéed spinach, but just could not follow the calamari. It’s like listening to a headliner and then the opener comes in. Me and my partner ordered steak medium rare; one with lobster and one with lump crab. It was the most perfect steak I’ve ever had. 1) the quality of steak, the size, the flavor was amazing. 2) that was the truest medium rare steak I have ever received. And I appreciate that Roxanne confirmed what we meant when we ordered med rare. 100/10. To wrap this up: lobster 10/10, lump crab 7/10. Wine 10/10, lem drop martini 10/10 (general cocktail menu was lacking. I wish they had more adventurous options). I will be back, I will order the exact same thing minus the osso.

I go here all the time and Chris does an Atkin with making you feel welcomed. Sondra was amazing in the bar area as always. They are always consistent with celebrating you.

Update: 07/30/25 Got the food to go. Flavorful, cooked perfect temp, and still consistently awesome. I have been to multiple locations - Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Texas, etc. This location has the best overall service, food presentation and taste. I enjoy coming to this one each time. It doesn’t disappoint. One of the real prime meat fine dining restaurants in BR.

I love Ruth Chris and had to celebrate my Anniversary there. I would have given them the 5 Stars it deserves but my Steak wasn't on the 5 Star level this time. I'm sure it was because it was late and right at closing and I'm not one to send a plate back so I dealt with it. Everything else was wonderful and the Blueberry Cheesecake is enough to make me go back alone. Overall, still a great dining experience and I'm sure the next time our Porterhouse will be Medium like we love it. They have the nicest Staff by the way.

Texas de Brazil in Baton Rouge is an upscale Brazilian restaurant known for its all-you-can-eat grilled meats carved tableside and a lavish salad bar. The establishment has gained recognition, landing on Urbanspoon's list of the nation's top 250 fine dining restaurants.
Totally enjoyed our first visit we had to go back the next night. The food is amazing. The leg of lamb with the mint sauce is one of our favourites The smoke salmon in the goat cheese on the salad bar we’re perfect combination. And I will have to give A shout out to our waiter on the first night Jeremiah he is a perfect example of excellent customer service. Will definitely be going back the next time we are in Baton Rouge.

This place is amazing! The food was so delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly med rare, just how I like it, but also well done for my dad. Also it was my dad's birthday and they brought him his dessert with a candle and sang happy birthday to him.

A great experience, better if you come with your bf or gf, I did it myself and it was good servers are attentive, managers too. I did get some goods Caipirinha bc the Happy Hour... make sure you bring alot of appetite..

I loved this place. The staff, the decor, and the food were all wonderful. The salad bar is unmatched. The bathrooms were impeccable. I would recommend to everyone. The perfect place for a quick meal or a date night.
T S — Google review
we did the all you can eat, 3 people for $300ish. i forgot to get a pic of my food before i ate it because they bring you meats one after the other. when we sat down we were encouraged to go to the soup and salad bars. i got some lobster bisque instead of whatever the shrimp soup was because the shrimp was shelled. the bisque contained no seafood or solids (just the liquid), so i didn't finish it. our waitress brought us garlic mashed potatoes, cheap fries, and fried cinnamon bananas completely unprompted (fiance said it's a ploy to fill you up on their cheaper foods). the apps went to waste because we were determined to save room for meats. i waited until the end to eat the sugared bananas, but a bitter unripe taste got stuck in my mouth and there wasn't enough sweetness to mask it. took them a bit after our initial request and our waitress going back to the kitchen several times before we got our filet mignon. 3 stars because i hate unnecessary food waste, and i liked some of their meats on the rarer side.
Grey U — Google review
My fiancé and I began our evening with the soup and salad bar, and the lobster bisque was absolutely phenomenal. Every cut of meat we tried was excellent, and the service from the staff was equally impressive—friendly, attentive, and warm throughout our visit. As we were preparing to leave, I casually mentioned that it had been a wonderful birthday dinner. The manager, James, overheard the comment and kindly offered us a complimentary dessert. Although we were too full to enjoy it at the time, he graciously offered to package it for us to take home. Exceptional service like we experienced tonight—especially from James—leaves a lasting impression. I will absolutely be returning and recommending this restaurant to others.

It was my first time dining in at this place. It was super busy, which is understandable for it to be a Saturday. we ended upp having to wait 30 min past our reservation time to be sat. We really did not know what to do at furst, our server was not really specific about the specs on what to expect. The meat was good, some were a little cold but thats okay. The martinis were delicious. Unfortunately towards the end of the night, our stomachs hurt so bad. im not sure if it was the meat being out for too long or the seasoning, but that part left me not wanting to come back.

First Time Visit 07/01/23 We Made a Reservation Arrived Waited for about 5 minutes to be seated. We were seated by an awesome waiter. All of the meats that were served were delicious, hot, and seasoned. A couple of things I wasn't happy about they had no French fries, the utensils were on the bare table, and the tables were kinda close. The water tasted like Tap water. I was not impressed w/ my cocktail. But Overall I really enjoyed my experience and my dinner. Will definitely revisit. For 2 adults w/ cocktails we paid about $150

Steak house
American restaurant
Bar
Doe's Eat Place is a well-established American restaurant known for its casual and relaxed atmosphere. The Baton Rouge location offers a unique blend of Louisiana dishes, such as gumbo, alongside their famous Delta-style tamales and generously sized porterhouse steaks. The restaurant is popular for its gluten-free options and is considered a local institution since its opening in 1941.
Doe's Eat Place has become a staple in the Baton Rouge area. Their steaks and filets are delicious but you need to bring your appetite along with you. The smallest steak is 1.5 pounds, that's a lot of meat to put away. They have some of the best tamales you can find, and the optional Chilli you can get to put over them is FIYA. Staff is always friendly and extremely good at their jobs. There are other options on the menu such as pasta and seafood, as well as some of the best dessert biscuits as a finisher. Give them a try if you're on Government Street.

Doe's Eat Place, 3723 Government St, Baton Rouge, LA 70806. While my Restaurant Week review is slightly delayed, I'm pleased to share my experience. Following recommendations, I sampled both the tamales and steak. Although the tamales weren't part of the three-course Restaurant Week menu, they are highly recommended. The three-course meal included mushroom soup, a 24-oz steak with mashed potatoes and collard greens, and a dessert (the name of which I regrettably forgot). I plan to return to Doe's Eat Place to enjoy the tamales again and explore other menu items. #tonylameats #batonrougela #doeeatplace #doeseatplace #steak #tamales #restaurantweekbr

Always an excellent experience. I always get the hamburger steak for lunch. The side salad I get with ranch and Italian on the side because they are both so good. Not seen are the tamales which are also excellent and served with a homemade chili style sauce! The steaks are huge so I recommend splitting one if you choose !! They are well known for their steaks for sure!
Trey's E — Google review
The food was amazing. The service was great. The reviews already told me that. The ribeye was the smallest cut of it they had- 1.5#. That’s a big steak!! Temp was perfect. Seasoning was slightly bland- to be expected for the masses. The only reason for the 4 star- was price. It was quite pricey- I was expecting a price tag from the reviews, but I expected a percent, not a factor. The food was good… it just wasn’t $100+ good.
Warren A — Google review
Doe’s is extremely accommodating with an exceptional wait staff! The best ribeye & tuna steak in town, hands down! Oh, & don’t skip the tamales, brussel sprouts, or asparagus!! Truly have never had a bad experience. Highly recommend!
Rebecca E — Google review
Good food. Good service. Relaxed atmosphere. Quite pricey but expected for what it is. Not an every day place, but I would DEFINITELY go again.
Kim S — Google review
I've always wanted to stop here for a meal, and with my birthday coming up soon and this being restaurant week - I decided to stop and have an early dinner. Ordered their set menu for restaurant week which was a huge 24 oz ribeye with garlic mashed potatoes and nice side salad and dessert. They also had two other protein choices for the restaurant week menu if you don't want steak The ribeye steak was HUGE and very tasty. The only reason I took off one star was that it could have been just a little bit more tender. Mind you it wasn't tough, but not the most tender steak I've ever had. Still, I really enjoyed my steak birthday dinner and staff were very friendly. FYI, if you've never eaten there it is very low-keyed and casual. Will definitely come back for a lunch sometime and try their hamburgers and their club sandwich.
Brenda K — Google review
The 3lb porterhouse was good, but it wasn’t $139 good. Texas Roadhouse has a more flavorful steak at a fraction of the cost. The shrimp were pretty good, but again, in South Louisiana, you’ve got to have an amazing recipe to beat out the competition. Taste of LA Cafe shrimp are much better. The staff and customer service were absolutely amazing. 5-stars for them!

Cocha is a charming restaurant located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The venue boasts a rustic and wood-hued ambiance, offering a Southern menu with locally sourced ingredients. Guests can enjoy communal table options and an array of delectable dishes such as Lobster Sliders, Peruvian Wrap, Criollo, and Green Shakshuka.
Staff could not have been more pleasant. Wine menu was extensive with solid selections. Our mains were well made with fresh ingredients, unique flavors, and the menu took great care to provide top-notch options for vegans and gluten intolerant folks. While I’m not vegan, the chocolate vegan ice cream was incredibly decadent and delicious. The website pictures made me think seating was communal; it is not. We wish we could move this gem to our town.

Really loved the food here – the vegetarian options were insanely good. Anne Louise was our server and she was super sweet. You’ve gotta try the jackfruit dish and the lasagna – delicious. The presentation was on point too!
Praveen P — Google review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Hands-down the best ribeye we’ve ever had! Cocha absolutely blew us away. My husband and I stopped in for dinner and ordered the ribeye steaks with leek purée, mushrooms, and asparagus—and let me tell you, we’re still talking about it! Perfectly cooked, tender, and full of flavor. That leek purée deserves its own fan club. We got the yellowfin tuna & rice as an app and it was spicy and delicious! The service was just as incredible as the food. Jess was our server and she was phenomenal—warm, attentive, and super knowledgeable about the menu and drinks. She made the entire experience even better. We sat out front, which was such a cozy and relaxing spot. The vibe was peaceful and inviting, and since we were staying within walking distance, we got to enjoy a lovely stroll to and from the restaurant. The cocktails? Also a 10/10. Cocha is the whole package: food, drinks, service, and atmosphere. If you’re in Baton Rouge, this place is a must. Five stars all the way! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

We went for brunch and it was wonderful. We sat outside because it was a nice day, they had live music inside that they were piping to the outdoor seating. Our waitress was very well informed and also patient as we tried to narrow down the menu. I was very happy with my decision but will be back soon to try more of their creations!

Gorgeous space, interesting menu choices, stellar service. We went for brunch on a Saturday around 11:30 and there was no wait, only maybe three other tables were sat. I got a Thai julep that was bright and refreshing, my partner got some sour beer on draft that he liked. I got the Japanese patatas bravas, everything about the dish was incredible but the brisket was waaaay overcooked. It was dry like jerky, which was disappointing. The potatoes and egg and kewpie mayo more than made up for that, though. My partner got the pork belly sliders and THOSE were absolute perfection. Phenomenal bite. We would definitely go back for dinner or a weekday lunch.
Ashley E — Google review
One of the best restaurants in Baton Rouge hands down. Not only is their food and atmosphere great, their employees are fantastic like the owners. I had my rehearsal dinner there in the back room and all my family loved it. The food was amazing along with the friendly and laid back atmosphere. They made it so easy to reserve for my party size and the service was amazing!
Jackie W — Google review
Stopped in for dinner....didn't know it was wine tasting event night but they found us a table in the back. Dinner was excellent but it was a bit pricey (to be fair, I ordered a rib-eye steak - an off-menu offering). Cocktails are also a bit spendy but, to be fair, were very well done. Shout out to Bert for putting up with us out-of-towners!
Todd S — Google review
The restaurant is really cool and has great food, but I have given service 4 stars since it took about 2 hours to get our main entree last Friday! The oven went out and place was slammed. Also, we ordered steaks as a special. They were great; however, my 5oz filet was $40 and my husband’s 15 oz ribeye was an eye popping $75! I think the waiter should have warned us as it wasn’t written on the menu. Just sayin’.

Creole restaurant
Contemporary Louisiana restaurant
Eliza Restaurant & Bar in Baton Rouge offers a relaxed and stylish environment to savor modern Creole cuisine. The menu features delightful dishes such as gumbo ya-ya, Eliza crab cakes, crispy seafood platter, catfish, crawfish etouffee, and wild mushroom and spinach risotto. This elegant spot opened in 2016 and has become a favorite for its uncomplicated yet delicious southern cuisine.
The crab dip appetizer was incredible and the entrees we got were good, but the gumbo was not good. The service was great, as was the atmosphere. Would recommend coming here and I will likely come back, but I wish the food was more consistently great throughout the menu.

We sat outdoors for our business lunch under perfect weather. Food and service were excellent! My coworker had to change our reservation multiple times due to some unexpected changes and the hostess was very understanding and accommodating. One of my favorite places in Baton Rouge and a must return. I had the fried seafood dish, by far the best fried seafood batch I have had anywhere in a long time! Fried oysters was done perfectly. The light batter was just the perfect amount with enough crunch and flavor. Will definitely return when I am back in Baton Rouge!

We made a reservation and got seated as soon as we checked in. Service was good but food took a while to come out. It was a little disappointing that there was no bread or anything to snack on before receiving our appetizers. The place is small and feels cramped, with maybe 8 tables in total and medium-low lights. We first ordered a small cup of the soup of the day to share in case we didn’t like it. The soup was lackluster, we added salt but it was still missing something. However, our entrees were great. I had chicken paillard and my boyfriend had the pork chop. My dish had the perfect balance of flavors and was exquisite. I’ve never had the dish before and it tasted light, fresh, unique and healthy, but still very filling. My boyfriend’s pork chop was thick, juicy, and full of flavor. It was served with grits and some vegetables on the side. Overall, the entrees are a winner and we’d visit again just for that.

alright, let's start with the vibe of this place! great mood lighting, beautiful art, and a great ambiance. we had the shrimp and watermelon salad, gumbo ya ya, chicken paillard, eliza crab cakes, and crème brûlée. Personally i didn't love the flavor of the gumbo broth, but i haven't had gumbo many times prior. The salad was beautiful but had too much arugula and not enough dressing, walnuts, watermelon, and feta. the eliza crab cakes were phenomenal. the crème brûlée was stunning but sadly not thick enough. service was great and our waitress was wonderful! i really enjoyed the basil cucumber mule mocktail, it was refreshing and light.
Savannah M — Google review
Dinner at Eliza in Baton Rouge felt like stepping into a quietly elegant celebration of Southern hospitality—warm, thoughtful, and deeply delicious from start to finish. We began with drinks that set the tone beautifully: a Watermelon Gimlet—fresh, fragrant, and perfectly balanced—and a crisp, subtly spiced Basil Cucumber Mule Mocktail in a copper mug. Later in the evening, a smooth Espresso Martini brought just the right note of indulgence. The Soft Shell Crab Gnocchi was a standout—perfectly crisp and golden, served over pillowy gnocchi with Lake Pontchartrain blue crab, brightened by pesto cream and sauce vierge. The Chicken Paillard was equally lovely: tender, pan-sautéed chicken with crispy potatoes, Creole mustard sauce, and a peppery arugula salad that brought everything into balance. Dessert was a perfect finale: a light, tangy Lemon Ice Box Pie with a buttery graham cracker crust and just a touch of hazelnut syrup—simple and satisfying. The setting itself is a study in understated charm—refined but never fussy. Polished wood tables, bentwood chairs, and candlelight create a soft, intimate glow, while the walls are anchored by a striking print from John James Audubon’s Birds of America—specifically, Plate 217: Louisiana Heron. This exquisite illustration—delicate in form and poised in presence—is more than décor; it echoes the restaurant’s spirit: graceful, locally rooted, and quietly elevated. And while the food and ambiance were exceptional, it was Amya’s warm, gracious service that truly made the experience memorable. She was intuitive and kind, attentive without ever interrupting the rhythm of the evening—a rare and welcome gift. Eliza is the kind of place that understands what makes a meal linger in your memory: not just what’s on the plate, but how it’s served, where it’s enjoyed, and the thoughtful touch behind it all. We can’t wait to return.
Social V — Google review
What a diamond in the rough. Charming, quaint, adorable outdoors patio area, and a crisp, clean, chic interior. I was genuinely surprised by the elevated Louisiana Cuisine presented here. I was impressed with their commitment to support local Louisiana businesses and even shout then out on the menu as their local sources. The waitress was polite and exceedingly knowledgeable about the menu. She also told us about a Mardi Gras themed cocktail available. Though I don't drink, it sounded like something that would be enjoyable to others. She also told us about the soup and dish of the day, both of which sounded phenomenal, but I had already made up my mind. The catfish was actually catfish (which, as you may know some businesses use tilapia or other cheap fish instead). It had one of the best shells I have tried. I had mine with lemon wedges and some stone ground horse radish infused mustard which somehow improved on what I already believed to be perfection. The gumbo only gets 4 stars from me. It was flavorful, and the popcorn rice was a nice addition, but I felt the ratio of rice to gumbo was a bit much and that I didn't really get much chicken or sausage.

It's our go-to anniversary dinner restaurant. Delicious food, drinks, and a kind, attentive staff.

The filet was PERFECTION. The crab cake ..all crab ... it was excellent. The shrimp and grits (I was told by my Dad) was the best ever. The Brussels sprouts were amazing. The French onion soup was better than some you find in Paris. The service was top notch, our server, Ava Claire, was attentive without being intrusive. She made the evening even more enjoyable.

Went here for our anniversary. Everything was delicious aside from the steak, which was so so, and lamb was gamey.. I really didn't care for either. French onion was delicious. Lobster was a little rubbery. The desert and champagne were delectable. These guys went above and beyond to make our day special.

Exceptional service and food!! We first arrived at 2pm, not realizing we could only order off the brunch menu, so we made a 3pm reservation and returned. Both times we were greeted immediately and seated without issue. Emma was our waitress/server and did a phenomenal job!! She gave recommendations of the crab cake and ribeye, both of which we ordered. The food was nothing short of amazing!! I don't mind paying for quality food and service, and Stab's offered both! The portions were definitely large enough to share and we still had leftovers to bring home. If we're ever back in the area, we'll definitely be back. That's for making our first time memorable Ms. Emma!!! ~ The Dark's

I recently celebrated 2 birthdays at Stab's. This was my 1st visit to Stab's, and it was a great dining experience. We received excellent service for our party of 10. The food was superb! I've eaten at several other top rated steakhouses, and this one is now at the top of my list. I loved the variety of the menu and the extensive wine list. I'll definitely have to go back again because I look for consistency in service and food. But for now, they are number one. They entire party of 10 agreed!

Known for its boiled crawfish and Acadian Catfish, this establishment has been serving customers since 1988 and has expanded into multiple markets.
Fantastic food with huge portions. The catfish, shrimp salad, and gumbo were all super tasty and lots of it. Service was very good. The atmosphere isn't high-end, but you're not going here for the ambiance. But if you're looking for super food and equally good service, you'll likely be very happy. We'd definitely go back!

We live in Fort Worth, Texas. This restaurant was recommended by a friend who used to live in the area. It didn't disappoint. We loved the food so much we ate here two different times within a week. The service was great. Our servers kept the drinks filled and checked on us several times. The food is delicious and plenty of food for the price. Prices range from $8.99‐25. When back in town, we will definitely be back!

Stopped into Sammy's Grill for lunch and had the Thin fried catfish and white beans ( Substituted the white bean with a side of red beans and rice). It was enough for two people. Delicious food and great service. Another go to spot in Baton Rouge.

We looked up this place to get some crawfish... it did not disappoint! Also the egg rolls were amazing. We had a large group so we were charged 20% gratuity... understand why this happens, but we definitely did not get the service to equal that. Will be back for the food and will be hopeful the service is better.

The service was very quick on a Thursday night, and the food came quickly and was delicious. I got the grilled bayou catfish and it was phenomenal. My boyfriend got the fried catfish and it was good, but a little salty for his taste. The portion sizes were large, which we appreciated. We spent about $70 including the tip, our meals, and a blueberry lemon drop martini (which was also delicious).

Ate dinner here late on a Friday evening. The restaurant wasn't too busy but there was a decent crowd. I got the soup and salad. The shrimp and corn soup was excellent. They have a pretty lengthy beer menu. You are sure to find something you like. Have been coming here for many years and we'll continue to do so.

Located just steps from the LSU campus, The Chimes is one of Baton Rouge’s most beloved local institutions—a place where the warmth of Southern hospitality meets the energy of a college-town bar. The atmosphere is relaxed yet lively, with a long polished bar lined with dozens of beer taps and shelves of whiskey, a few televisions tuned to sports, and the friendly bustle of students and locals alike. It’s the kind of place that feels welcoming at any hour, whether for brunch, a casual dinner, or a late-night drink after a game. The food at The Chimes reflects Louisiana’s comfort-driven culinary spirit. The plate pictured, crawfish omelet with creamy grits and a warm biscuit, captures exactly what the restaurant does best: hearty, unfussy dishes made with care and a touch of local flavor. The portions are generous, the presentation simple but appealing, and the flavors unmistakably Southern. Combined with the friendly service and rustic wooden surroundings, it’s easy to see why this spot has earned such loyal regulars over the years. Highly recommended!

Kevin was our waiter on the rooftop deck for dinner. We had a group of 7 from Boston who never ate Louisiana fare before, so Kevin brought us samples and we were able to place a few orders of appetizers and get meals to share and everyone loved it! He made this a great experience for us and we appreciate that. The food was just as good as the service.

We had an incredible dining experience at The Chimes that deserves more than just five stars! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and filled with that Southern charm Baton Rouge is known for. What truly elevated our night, though, was our server, **Ezra**. He was *over the top excellent*—attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely friendly. His recommendations were spot-on, and he made sure our table never went without. As for the food—absolutely amazing. Every dish we tried was full of bold, authentic flavors and cooked to perfection. From the seafood to the signature dishes, everything was fresh and beautifully presented. Whether you're a local or just passing through, The Chimes is a must-visit. TJ Ribs, a renowned barbecue joint in Baton Rouge, has been serving up hearty classics like baby back ribs, brisket, chicken, sausage and steaks for nearly three decades. The marinated baby back ribs are the star of the menu, slow-cooked to perfection for tender meat that falls off the bone. With curbside pickup and delivery options available, TJ Ribs offers a takeout menu featuring premium steaks, seafood, burgers and more.
BBQ in Louisiana! Right off I-10 and what a place. Large menu - would take many visits to explore it all. We ordered based on our usual back home experience - meatloaf, burnt ends, sausage, coleslaw, green beans, sweet potato fries, mashed potato and a loaded baked potato. Also ordered the gumbo something we don’t have. Meat was all great and portion size met expectations. There were two sauces available- mild and hot at the table. Green beans had more spice than the hot sauce. I enjoyed them. Coleslaw was offered with peanuts as an option but I didn’t think that added anything. The sweet potato fries were waffle fries were crisp and light - best we ever had. Mashed potatoes were fresh - skins could be seen. Baked potato was perfectly cooked. Gumbo was delicious, we both wish there was more okra. Overall outstanding BBQ. I will be back for the ribs!
Paul P — Google review
The evening in Baton Rouge moves like molasses—slow, thick, inevitable. The air hangs heavy with heat and the lingering perfume of woodsmoke and spice, the scent of something coaxed, not forced, into existence. There’s an unspoken rule here: you don’t rush the good things. And right now, I want something worth waiting for. So I find myself at TJ Ribs, where LSU’s legends don’t just hang on the walls—they loom. Their ghosts sit in the booths, nodding in silent approval, watching over a menu that doesn’t waste time with nonsense. It’s barbecue, done right. I don’t hesitate. I order the full rack. When it arrives, it’s everything it should be. A plate of ribs that have known patience, given over to time and smoke like some kind of slow Southern prayer. First, the dry rub, deep and knowing. Then the low heat, the long wait, the transformation. Fire at the end, but just enough—because the ribs don’t need to be drowned in sauce. They need to be honored. Potato salad on the side, the cool, starchy pause before the next bite. Slaw, crisp and clean, like a deep breath between sips of sweet tea that drips condensation onto the table. I take my time, because a meal like this isn’t just about eating—it’s about understanding. This is food with history, ribs with a story, and a place where tradition doesn’t just sit in a glass case—it sits next to you at the bar. Billy Cannon frozen in mid-stride, Pistol Pete caught in a flicker of impossible grace, Shaq with that unmistakable grin like a man carrying more than just a team. Some restaurants serve food. TJ Ribs serves memories. And as I walk out into the thick Baton Rouge night, the taste still lingers—smoke, spice, the weight of something done right. Some places fade. Some things get lost. But not here. Here, history isn’t just told. It’s eaten.

Cute spot has lots of space for parties get-togethers or celebrations. The food was absolutely phenomenal. The only downfall would be the white cheese for the macaroni. And cheese, however, the ribs, the catfish, and everything else was fantastic and highly recommended. You won't be disappointed!

I had a friend coming over to watch the LSU game today. I told her I was going to treat her to some TJ Ribs wings.... went on all day about how delicious they were. I ordered 3 orders and asked for a ranch and blue cheese dip in each. Got home and was so disappointed. Wings were overcooked and dry. Not one box had the dips I requested. None of them had celery either. So I apologized while we choked down my $58.00 purchase. The receipt on the bag clearly stated what I ordered but no one cared enough to get it right. I understand prices have gone up but no excuse for the dried up wings and not getting the order right. Why don't people care anymore?
Mona B — Google review
They no longer offer a rib dish on their lunch menu. Prices are much higher than in the past (yes, all restaurants have raised their prices but theirs are more than most). Our server was clueless. We had to ask several times for simple items that she should have asked if we wanted when she took our order such as condiments for our sandwich which is served dry otherwise and butter for a baked potato that she brought completely bare. The iced tea was the best part of our meal. Although since it was fresh and melted the ice, we had to ask twice for a glass of ice. I will add that the restaurant was virtually empty when we were there so being “busy” cannot be used as an excuse. Our entire table was disappointed that a restaurant we have loved for years was such a let down this time. We will give them another chance due to years of good food and service.

3/7/24 Wake up! Y'all are sleepin on TJ Ribs! Tons of local sports memorabillia including a freaking wall of Shaq! It was so unbelievably cool! So atmosphere is already a 30 and then I swear they had a picture of Pistol Pete too! Went for lunch and Priscilla was an amazing server! I got the smoked wings. How are they the BEST IN TOWN. Cooked to perfection, permeated with deep smoky goodness. Fulton St. Ribs will have you slappin' your debit card repeatedly on the table. I'm not of the "Ribs falling apart are overcooked" crowd. If my Ribs bone don't come out cleaner than St. Peter's soul, I don't want it. Lo and behold, perfection as every single bone was easily drawn out and dropped. Boudin balls. I don't know where they come from, if they're made in house or brought in. They look brought in but they're scrumptious! Carrot souffle gets a 4, only because it was a bit too sweet. Onion Rings were perfectly crisp, and somehow not greasy! Give the kitchen staff a round of applause and a raise because they did that! Lastly, but not at all least, I forgot to ask the name of the hostess. She was so sweet and kind to us. Thank you so much, ma'am!

Incredible food and service. Five star experience all around. The stars of the dinner were the mash potatoes, seasonal gnocchi, and lamp chops. Filet with crab and hollandaise was amazing too, their calamari is cooked in tallow oil so it’s tastier and healthier, the Steak Diane was delicious (especially if you love mushrooms). The seasonal Spritz was a wonderfully refreshing cocktail. Their seasonal items are well thought out, so I’d recommend trying something off that menu.

Wait time was longer than expected being that we had reservations. Our waitress was very cool. Our drinks and salads were perfect. I ordered the pork chop with mash potatoes and my wife had the lamb chops with creamed spinach. Whatever the gravy was that was on my chop was extremely salty but the chop itself was perfect. Wife loved her lamb chops.

This was a good experience. The calamari was the very best! My steak was good, the butter that accompanied it took the ribeye from ok to good. I enjoyed the wedge salad, although it was a bit small. The grits were not for me. My sister had 2 lobster tails w crawfish risotto and pineapple martini. It was ok but adding lemon made it good. Overall it's a 7/10. Great date night or girls night out

Great food and service. Gator tail was the most tender I've ever had anywhere. Got a cup of the gumbo. They let you know that it's a dark roux, and while ok, it was just before being bitter. Would definitely go back, but get something else. The Delta Queen was enough for 2 people.

This Cajun seafood restaurant was a bit of a letdown. The atmosphere was cozy, but the food was just okay. The seafood was fresh, but the flavors were lacking. The Butterfly Shrimp was a bit too mushy…possibly over cooked, and the Catfish Platter was so so. The service was friendly, but a bit slow. Overall, it was a decent experience, but I wouldn't rush back. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

we got there on a friday evening/night and got seated right away. they were soooooo busy so we expected a wait. our server was so nice. we did wait a bit for the appetizers maybe 35 min which was no problem but the entrees took about an 1hour to finally get to us. we ended up packing the food home because the wait was long but we were kind of full off the oysters and waiting anyways. it wasn’t a big deal considering how busy they were but i would definitely recommend not going on an empty stomach because that’s what i did, from not eating all day at work to waiting a long time, i was hangry but everyone has their days! business is booming for them and that’s wonderful but i wish next time, we get a little more attention than this last visit…

Well, well, well… this was definitely a “long run for a short slide”! We started off well, with a wonderful server, fresh small Caesar salad and nice glass of wine. Who knew that would be the best part of the experience. The restaurant is very loud… like eating in a warehouse. I must say that I was really looking forward to a specialty that featured Blackened red fish, shrimp and pasta with a white wine Lobster sauce. What I received was pasta swimming in butter sauce with a small piece of fish, three shrimp and a piece of “Olive Garden” bread. The fish was overcooked, bland and tough. The shrimp was medium sized, but overcooked with an off taste. The cream sauce was heavy with no Lobster flavor whatsoever. After tasting the shrimp, I could not finish my meal. And what the hell is a convenience charge of 3%.

I even had a chance to meet y’all’s outdoor pet while out on the deck, looking at the lake!!! Now off to New Orleans…

After a long day on the road, we were looking forward to our first meal in Baton Rouge, and Anthony’s seemed like a great pick. We love mom-and-pop places and enjoy Italian food, so the glowing reviews and long history had us excited. The staff was warm and friendly, and we appreciated the welcoming atmosphere. That said, we wish someone had advised us more strongly on portion sizes—while the comment “Y’all are going to have a lot of food” was made, we didn’t realize just how much. One Muffoletta would have been plenty for the two of us. We ordered the New Orleans Style Muffoletta, the Godfather, and a stuffed artichoke. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to our expectations. The sandwiches were average, and the stuffed artichoke was especially disappointing—it was so tough and fibrous that I couldn’t eat it, despite really wanting to enjoy it. I have fond memories of my mother preparing tender artichokes when I was young, and this one didn’t compare. One Muffoletta could easily serve a family of four with average appetites, perhaps with a side or two to share for those with heartier appetites. I do wish the size of the sandwiches had been explained to us, especially since we mentioned to the person taking our order that it was our first time visiting. We decided to give dessert a try, thinking we couldn’t go wrong with a classic cannoli—but unfortunately, we were disappointed once again. It lacked flavor and just didn’t hit the mark. We’re not sure if we just ordered the wrong items, given how many people seem to love this place. If we’re ever back in the area, we might give it another try and go for something from the pasta menu instead.

A buddy and I stopped in for lunch at Anthony’s Italian Deli in Baton Rouge, and it was an awesome experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the location is convenient, and the service was friendly and quick. My friend had the lunch spaghetti, and I went with the muffuletta — hands down the best muffuletta I’ve ever had! The flavors were incredible and the portions were generous. Anthony’s is a true gem, and I’ll definitely be back soon.

I tried Anthony’s today and was very happy with my meal. I got the pizza poboy and my friend got a turkey Muffoletto. The people there are super friendly and wanna make sure you have a great dining experience. The atmosphere is very family friendly. If you’re in the mood for some good Italian sandwiches, give Anthony’s a try.

Just wow!! This place is phenomenal! The service was incredible and the food was outstanding! The atmosphere gives a feeling of sitting at a bistro in Italy. I had the Italian Lovers and pasta salad. If I am ever back in town this will be my go to every time.

Ordered 1/2 muffuletta with a house salad. Counter service was very friendly and attentive. The house salad was delicious with the balsamic dressing. The muffuletta is very good, but if you’re a fan they do use a little bit different bread than you may have had at other places. Here the bread is thinner and crisp. I really enjoyed my meal and I’m eager to return and try more menu items.

This place is amazing if you're looking for authentic Italian in the heart of Baton Rouge. I had a friend visiting from NY State. Muffalettas aren't a thing up there and he really wanted to try it. We both got one and it's probably the best I've tasted in this city. The man serving us was amazing as well! He's super friendly and knowledgeable. I've been living here for years and this is the first time I've visited here but it won't be the last!

Great little spot for lunch…the meatballs and homemade sausage reminds me of my grandmas Sunday dinners. The sausage was fantastic w that little bit of fennel that was just right …Meatballs on par with the sausage . The only real letdown was the dessert . The cannoli was watery and loose with no signs of mascarpone to be found anywhere . The split cherry on it was also disappointing to see. The cannoli shell itself being from Ferraras was crispy crunchy and held up to the watery filling as well as it could. Overall go for the Italians meats and meals they are well worth it.

J. Alexander's Restaurant is a popular chain known for its contemporary American cuisine with a modern twist, offering wood-fired dishes in a casual yet upscale dining setting. The menu features classic American fare and large salads topped with fish, fowl, and potatoes. While the brunch options are somewhat limited to fried dishes, the restaurant is renowned for its scrumptious dinner offerings that make it an ideal spot for a family-friendly meal or a great date night venue.
This is the perfect place for date night! Everyone was really nice. Our server Ericka was awesome. I asked her recommendations for drinks and she provided two martinis, but I didn't get either one. I like cocktails. It didn't bother me at all because she seemed very knowledgeable on the popular items. I was impressed! I don't always get an appetizer but today I wanted to try something different. The appetizer is fried calamari with marinara. I can tell by the batter that the oil is fresh. The food is seasoned very well. The shrimp tacos were fantastic! I didn't have anything to say about the food other than how good it was for my first time dining experience. I had no room for the peanut butter pie, but Ericka suggested to try the carrot cake which we took home. She made our night and appreciate her.

The employees seem sad, that was weird. The service felt a little lacking. The upsides are that the decor is really nice. Dimly lit, dark brown wood, cozy feel. It is very clean too, even the bathroom looks spotless. Prices are not cheap, but not unreasonable either. The quality of the food is definitely the saving grace. Really tasty and high quality!

I had an incredible dining experience at J. Alexander’s in Baton Rouge! The crabcakes were absolutely delicious, perfectly golden on the outside, tender and flavorful on the inside, with just the right balance of seasoning. They were truly some of the best I’ve had. I also enjoyed the Blueberry Lemon Drop and the Peach Martini, both cocktails were excellent. Not only were they well-crafted and full of flavor, but there was definitely a generous pour, which was a big plus. The Blueberry Lemon Drop was crisp, refreshing, and had just the right amount of tartness, while the Peach Martini was smooth, slightly sweet, and very easy to enjoy. For my entrée, the brine-marinated chicken was a standout, incredibly juicy, full of flavor, and cooked to perfection. From start to finish, everything about the meal was top-notch. I’ll definitely be coming back!

The entire experience was a taste bud delight dipped in more deliciousness 😋 Those Carolina Lump Crabcakes looked as delicious as they tasted, I wanted to lick my plate! The Ahi tuna salad was seared to perfection with the sweetest combination of home dressing mixed in fresh arugula! Another plate licking plate! The service is impeccable and they care for their customers!!! Thanks J. Alexanders

This is my FAVORITE restaurant to frequent in Baton Rouge and today’s visit was EXCEPTIONAL thanks largely in part to my server DANI. She has a beautiful spirit and is very personable in her approach to service. I’ve never had a bad experience here and today she went exceeded my expectations. Her attention to detail is amazing!! Refilling drinks without me having to ask and continuously checking in me to make sure I was good. It’s people like her who help give J.Alexanders a good name and reputation! Kudos and 10’s across the board to DANI!!🥰

After being told, what a great dining experience, this would be, I left sorely disappoint. I tried the slow roasted prime rib, because that is one of my favorite meals and I had heard so much about this location. It was very tender, but it had little to no flavor. The horseradish had little to no kick, and the mashed potatoes also had very little flavor. The indicators of the meal should have been how quickly it was brought out to me, far too fast for it to have been prepared once I arrived. On the other hand, the atmosphere was fantastic, the staff was fast, cordial, and available for my every need. Unfortunately, it was not enough to make up for the meal and I wouldn’t recommend this is a dining location for anyone.

My friends and I stopped at this restaurant on our way back to Texas from New Orleans. I was most impressed. The food was excellently prepared. The wait staff was prompt and available. I loved the decor of the restaurant. Very friendly atmosphere. I plan to visit other locations during my travels. Glad my friend recommended it.

This place is run like a well oiled machine. You can tell the staff loves what they do and where they work. This speaks volumes of management and ownership. The teamwork shown here is admirable. Our server was Emma who was very kind, beautiful, aware, razor focused, & attentive. She literally literally walked by while assisting other tables & had other servers refill drinks & bring extra chips. It was great to experience. My husband & I spoke of how Emma should be a team lead or at the least complimented on her premiere service. Our devil eggs were delivered by Executive Chef Jeremy & were tasty. We also ordered Queso, Steak Maui, & Ribs. I hadnt visited since Executive Chef Francisco (years ago) and I am pleased about the excellence here.

FLAWLESS!....Again! Thanks to the Chef, Josh and Logan! The whole team is why I've made two trips to stay in BR and eat at your establishment. We are finishing our trip and decided on a great dinner. We will be back. To our server Logan, you did an extraordinary job. He learned about the balance of flavors and enjoyed everything the Chef made. Your attentiveness and your skills will take you much farther than you realize. To the Chef, in an age when we drown food in flavor, you crafted food with light flavors which didn't overpower the other ingredients. To the staff who supported this meal...heartfelt thank you for also making this exceptional experience. Adam

It was truly a great date night. We don’t come often, but we do come enough and I appreciate the attentiveness of the staff whenever we come in. My partner and I had dinner and we had a great waiter. Sham was pretty cool, engaging and ensured that we had smooth transitions. He answered questions with ease and we appreciated our time with him. My only challenge was what appeared to be an unfortunate enforcing of rules with some customers and not others. If hats aren’t allowed in the dining area, that should be for all guest. Not just the ones with locs.

Albasha Greek & Lebanese is a popular restaurant in Baton Rouge, offering a cozy space adorned with Greek art and serving up delicious gyros, falafel, and salads. The restaurant has been recognized as the best Mediterranean spot multiple times. They offer a variety of options including vegetarian dishes served with feta cheese salad, grape leaves, spinach pie, hummus, baba ghanouj, rice pilaf and taboule salad.
Great location with walking distance to several hotels, and the food ad superb! There were only two ladies working tonight, but the service was prompt and courteous. I will ill definitely come back again when I am back in town
DL — Google review
I had the chance to dine at Albasha while in Baton Rouge, and overall, it was a delightful experience. I tried the Albasha platter which included the grape leaf wrap which was just okay for me—perhaps a bit dry and lacking in flavor inside—but the rest of the meal certainly made up for it. The hummus was delicious, the salad was fresh with an excellent dressing, and the tzatziki sauce was right on point. The lamb kebabs, were cooked to perfection, and the Kibbi something I hadn't tried before—was unique and tasty with a crisp outer shell and a delicious meat filling. Albasha really stood out with items on the menu that I hadn't seen at other Greek and Lebanese restaurants, making it definitely a one of a kind spot!

One of the best Mediterranean restaurants I have been to. All the dishes are really good. The hummus is delicious. Good service and more than enough quantity. Place is 100% halal even though the serve alcohol. Please note : If you put one bill of 60$ or more then they put 18% gratuity tip by default. Which was surprising for us since we never came across such a thing.
Mohammed A — Google review
Great food. Had meatless stuffed grape leaves, gyro, and baba ganoush. My biggest issue was the temperature of the food. The stuffed grape leaves were all temperatures. A few were hot, a few luke warm and a few cold. Confusing. Flavor was on point! My gyro was not warm at all. Felt like it might've been sitting waiting on the server; however, the meat was just how I like it, tender and moist. Their baba ganoush was super yummy. I'll be getting that again as a take out order. Seriously super yummy. Only a few of the pitas were warm. Unfortunately, the server was lack luster. She came once to my table during the meal and the other time during the meal she called to me from more than twenty feet away to see if I was ok. Kinda of weird interaction. Made me feel like I was second class because I was dining alone. Foolish because I tip crazy good when I get a good server. I would've been if they had cracked a smile. The greeter who seated me was super and made me think it was going to be great service. I'll probably be back for some take out and avoid the service.

Elsie's Plate & Pie is a popular eatery located in an airy, industrial space that used to be a historic post office. The restaurant is known for its sweet and savory pies, which are made using a special pastry recipe from the owner's late grandmother, Elsie Marie Campeau Rupe. The menu features over 200 dessert options as well as Southern comfort food such as crawfish and meat hand pies, seafood pot pies, and various other pie interpretations.
We visited during restaurant week. The $35 special menu included duck cherry hand pies with lemon green onion pesto for appetizers, a seafood curry pie, and dessert nachos or key lime pie. ALL of the dishes were excellent! I wish they would add them to the regular menu. The restaurant is almost always crowded, but worth waiting for a seat. The regular seafood pie is on the menu all my the time. Worth a try for sure. All the desserts are delicious. They offer full pies for take away, but order ahead around the holidays because the best ones run out.

I haven’t been to this restaurant since 2022 but they seem to have gotten even better. 45 minute wait was well worth it. I got the Diablo shrimp melt with havarti cheese and sun dried tomatoes. Also got the crawfish mac & cheese special, which was definitely the star of the show this time. Also got the crustless crab pie which came with a side of red beans and rice and also a salad. I wasn’t even planning on getting any dessert but ended up with the Eye of the Tiger pie with blueberry whipped cream, which was amazing. All around highly recommend this place.

We dropped into Elsie’s Plate and Pie today and it did not disappoint! I ordered the Natchitoches meat pies with crispy brussel sprouts, and everything was absolutely delicious. Me, my aunt, and grannie LOVED Elsie’s! Servers and hostesses were very helpful and friendly and knew the menu well. Every. Single. Thing. we ate was so good. We ordered the crawfish queso and fried pickles to start. Both were a 10/10 and the queso came with homemade pork skins (which I dont usually like) and it was delicious. I ordered the crustless crabmeat pie with fried onions and a blackberry margarita (all 10/10). My aunt ordered the blackened catfish sandwich (8/10) with brussel sprouts. My grannie ordered the honey chop with the parm mashes potatoes and brussel sprouts with the seafood soup (10/10). We have zerooo complaints about any of our food & they plan on coming back when they visit BR again😂 Oh and the prices are great for the quality and amount of food you get! Blueberry hand pie.. DELICIOUS! Our server was a black girl with locs named Maya and we loved her so much <3!

Even though we live close by I never tried Elsie’s before but I wish I did. Only hamburger my niece got was a bit mediocre but if you think about it they are not famous with that but with their amazing pies. It was her mistake not to get it. I got veggie melt and loved it. My husband got seafood pie and I tried too. It was really good. People were extremely friendly and cute. Highly recommend

Had the bacon old fashioned - which to be honest - is pretty gimmicky - and I don't care because I got a piece of bacon. The drink was fine otherwise. While it excels in steaks, its seafood offerings are also exceptional, featuring fresh and flavorful locally caught options. The Chilled Seafood Tower is a standout choice for those craving an indulgent seafood experience.
Fine dining. Steaks and brussel sprouts were fantastic. Steven was attentive and an excellent server. Great place for a special event like an anniversary, birthday or anything intimidate. We went on a Wednesday and didn’t require a reservation.

They had a special going on for the Tomahawk and we split it between 3 people. Everything was seasoned perfectly and medium well. The corn and the mac & cheese were so flavorful. Our waiter was very helpful explaining the flavors and menu options to us. (Thank you Patty). They also gave me a rose for my birthday and some tasteful dark chocolate.

So me and my wife went just cause we were craving Steaks. I want to first say the environment and service were awesome. It's just they put us in a little room in a corner which I felt was a little odd seeing as they had plenty of free tables. Hence the 3 stars on atmosphere. The food was rather bland i had the 14oz Angus ribeye and my wife had the filet mignon. We ordered the mac and cheese with loaded baked potatoes. It just was not as tasty as I expected. Ruths' Chris which is comparable has a very tasty steak and it melts in your mouth. This one was not that good. The mac and cheese was just meh they use onions in mac and cheese onions!! Really not the best combo. The potatoes were decent just rather dry. Idk for $250 for the both of us i expected more. Sorry!

We just finished the most amazing birthday dinner for my husband. Everything was perfect. The entire staff knew our names and were the most attentive as compared to any fining dining experience we have had. The steaks were cooked exactly as ordered and were so tender we did not need knives. Every course was delicious. My husband was even given a birthday card signed by the staff and candles with his dessert. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Extra thanks to our amazing waiter. We will certainly be back.

I recently ordered the $18 blue cheese wedge salad to go, and while I did receive the toppings in a separate container, I was really disappointed with the lettuce portion itself. Instead of a full, crisp wedge like the one served in-house, (first picture) I received a thin outer piece that was hollow and lacked substance (second picture). It honestly looked like a scrap piece from the prep station rather than a proper serving. Given the quality I’ve experienced dining in, I expected the to-go salad to reflect the same standards. This felt like a significant downgrade.

Fleming's usual hits the spot! Service was great and staff was friendly. I enjoyed the meal although the steak was slightly overcooked.
Erica C — Google review
I'll preface this with saying if I could do 3.5* I would. Since I can't I rounded up simply from service and atmosphere not from food. So I'll start with the food was good. But my wife's steak was charred on one side and for the cost that's unacceptable in my opinion. One side was drastically over cooked while the rest was good. My ribeye was very good. The Fleming's potatoes were good, but definitely not great. In my opinion they needed cooked a bit more and or a little less cream of mushroom or whatever they used. Was to creamy. The brussel sprouts were awesome and I don't even like brussel sprouts much. Steven was our waiter and he was good for 95% of our meal. Great service but I sat empty during my meal for about 5 minutes. To be fair, the cups were small and I drink like a camel. A ton at once. Service I give 5*. They had a rose for my wife. House made chocolates as well. The atmosphere is really good. It's a bit busy with tables but lovely for a dinner.

Very pleasant experience. The service was great. The food was delicious. I love the fresh salsa brought to the table along with the handmade tortillas.

Liiiiiisten.... do not go anywhere else to eat until you try this place! All this time, this hidden gem... we went to celebrate a birthday, and from the time we walked in, until we left, every single staff member was wonderful. Especially our waitress Miss Jenifer! Ma'am, you remind me of when I was young and I was a waitress. You went above and beyond!! Don't forget my advice about the milk!! This place is amazing and the food is the best Mexican food I've had in a very....very long time! Even our to-go order was on point! WE WILL BE BACK!! Thank you everyone who we made contact with there. Keep up the awesome work!! Definitely worth leaving Denham to battle the BR traffic haha!!

The service is exceptional! Nice atmosphere. Perhaps ai chose the wrong food but it was very average. Black beans were really good. Chicken enchiladas (meat and wraps) were quite dry as was the rice. Margarita was a little sweet for my taste.

We had the best experience at Tio’s recently (and as always). We had a large party of 30. The management and staff were so attentive and made sure our experience was perfect! They went above and beyond. The food was amazing and the service was top notch! Thank you Robert and everyone at Tio’s that made our party so awesome!

We stopped in at Tio Javi’s and were blown away by how fresh and flavorful everything was. I had the burrito done chimichanga style—crispy on the outside, stuffed with savory goodness inside—and it hit all the right notes. The chicken quesadilla was another standout: perfectly grilled, generously filled, and served hot and melty. The service was friendly and the atmosphere felt welcoming without trying too hard. It’s clear they care about the food and the people. Whether you're craving Tex-Mex comfort food or just want a solid spot for lunch or dinner, this place delivers. We'll definitely be back!

The food was delicious. The handmade tortillas were phenomenal. Our server Kamryn was outstanding as well. My dish was a little pricier than I normally spend for a lunch dish, but I ate on it twice and it was so good that it was worth it to me.

Went here for a business lunch. Food was very good. The green sauce and salsa they bring out with the chips are both excellent. I especially love the green! Best tortillas I've ever had. They are handmade throughout the day everyday right in the front where you can watch. I had the steak and chicken fajitas which were excellent. The person I was having lunch with had steak tacos which he seemed to enjoy. He ate everything.

I celebrated my birthday here with a party of 10, and everything from start to finish was beyond amazing! When I called to make the reservation, the girl who helped me was incredibly sweet and made the process so easy! When we arrived, our table was already set up and waiting for us. The drinks, the food, and the overall service were top-tier. Huge shoutout to our server, Angel, who was absolutely phenomenal! And big thanks to Robert and Holly at the front for being so warm and accommodating. The entire staff goes above and beyond to make you feel special and taken care of. You can truly feel the pride they take in creating an unforgettable experience. Thank you all so much—you made my birthday unforgettable. Love you guys!

Restaurant
Texas Roadhouse is a vibrant steakhouse chain that offers an American menu infused with a Southwestern twist, all within a Texas-themed ambiance. Known for their hand-cut steaks, ribs, and chicken, this popular restaurant ensures that tables are strategically arranged to avoid overwhelming the kitchen while still allowing for prompt seating. The attentive and efficient servers enhance the dining experience by providing exceptional service. The food at Texas Roadhouse is superb, with perfectly prepared steaks being one of their specialties.
If I am to be honest, I have to say that the food was OK, nothing above normal expectation, no special seasoning that just made the meal something I had to order again. I have the barbecue chicken and rib combo and it was not bad, but it wasn’t a standout meal that I will never forget. The service was over the top. Two managers came to my table on two separate occasions each to make sure I was enjoying my meal. They were very customer focused. My server was very attentive and there when I needed her, but not being there too much. The atmosphere was lively, but also private where no one disturbed you. I would make a point to go there again.

Its a chain so if you've been to any of them you already know what to expect. Parking is horrible for the volume of business that they do which I think is their greatest downfall. Food is always fresh and flavorful. I really enjoy their ribeyes and their potato skins appetizers. Staff is adequate but not overly helpful. Good option if you have the time to wait.
Barry E — Google review
I recently visited Texas Roadhouse and overall had a good experience. The food was delicious — fresh, flavorful, and just what you’d expect from a place known for hearty meals and great steaks. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with a lively yet comfortable vibe that made the wait a bit more bearable.Speaking of the wait — it was definitely on the longer side, which was a bit frustrating. However, the staff was friendly and kept things moving as best they could given how busy it was. If you’re planning to go, I’d recommend calling ahead or using the waitlist to save some time. All in all, it was a solid visit and I’d go back again.

You can't get a better steak for a better price! Always seasoned well. And I have to give a huge shout out to Kyren! He was our waiter and did a phenomenal job! His attention to detail and request was the best we've ever had. We will definitely be back!

I don't have much experience with steak houses, but it was a good experience and the food was amazing. Oddly and unexpected, the best part was the green beans.

The food was okay. I really liked the ribs and my dad said his food delicious, but that Mac and cheese was not giving. Plus it was my dad's birthday and even though they give free peanuts, I feel they should still offer free dessert for the birthday person.

Walked in and was just browsing the menu while waiting to be seated. The hostess came to get us and, mid-walk, snapped, “Go put that menu back, that doesn’t belong on the tables,” like I was a kid stealing crayons at Denny’s. Super unnecessary and awkward. Once seated, the service was… meh. Other tables had friendly, upbeat servers — ours barely checked in, barely smiled, and threw in smug looks like we were bothering her just by being there. Asked for bread and she acted like I’d asked her to personally bake it from scratch. Food was solid — a little salty, but still tasty. Definitely the highlight of the night. Food: 8.0/10 Service: 6.5/10 Hostess: 3.5/10 Still tipped above 20% on a $150+ meal. Not sure if I’d come back — good food can only carry so much when the energy is off

Delicious Louisiana cuisine - we got the short ribs and shrimp and grits, and the Brussels sprouts - best Brussels sprouts we've ever had! Also really enjoyed the fig old fashioned I got. Great service and atmosphere! Definitely recommend!

This may have been my favorite restaurants of all the places we ate at while in Baton Rouge. Loved the ambiance, the server was very pleasant and the food delicious! We had an order of the skillet cornbread which was amazing, my son had the red fish and I had the tasso pasta, both of which were excellent. Would highly recommend!

The sensation side salad was SO fresh & flavoful! Paired with the Parisian Gnocchi; which was creamy & savory with a little kick, it was the perfect lunch spread. Finished off with a light & refreshing cucumber St. Germain, my friends & I were beyond pleased with our experience!!

This is my second time at this restaurant, and I love the menu of traditional Creole dishes with a bit of a flair towards gourmet. The food was very flavorful, and the presentation was appealing. I definitely liked the side Cecilia salad with fresh mixed greens, pickled onions, spiced candied pecans, and blue cheese crumble. The fried green tomatoes were amazing and had a different twist served over housemade pimento cheese & toast points topped with pecan-smoked bacon in a pepper jelly glaze..wow!. That skillet cornbread was like none ever had with that maple bourbon glaze & cinnamon whipped butter..oh my! My waitress named Sammy, with her pleasant personality, did an excellent job and was very attentive. Will ask for her next time. I did notice that the entire staff seemed to be very attentive, which has me thinking it's their culture. I will be back and will be sending my people here!

Cozy restaurant within an easy walk from our hotel. Some nice flavors and offerings but generally saltier than we are used to. The fried alligator dish was tasty, but overwhelmingly tasted of breading vs alligator chunks. Other dishes were good. The short ribs were tender and meaty.
Judith B — Google review
This was our first time going to this restaurant after several friends recommended trying it out. We loved the menu of traditional Creole dishes with a bit of a flair towards gourmet. The food was very flavorful and the presentation was appealing. Definitely like the Boudin Balls that were crispy outside and moist inside with the ingredients blended together. We also had the Fried green tomatoes that were also very good and had a different twist with the sweet spicy bacon jam. The Alligator bites were tender and not dry like many we've tried before, and the glaze sauce on them was really good. The biggest favorite was the pork debris and Andouille sausage eggrolls which were crispy outside and fantastically flavored inside. They had sauce to dip but they were so good we didn't really use much of the sauce. Will be ordering these for sure on next visit. After eating so many Tapas we had to split the entree which was the creole blackened fish of the day. It also was good. Waitress named Sammy took care of us and did an excellent job and was very attentive. Will ask for her next time. Definitely tipped her over 20% for her pleasant personality and being so on point!! --- The only Negative was there was a $5.43 fee if you used your credit card to pay with.....but no fee if cash used. In these days hardly anyone carries cash so...........Let's just say I have a business as well and I claim transaction network fees like this on my business cost of operations and never charge it to my customer. Not a deal breaker as we will be back for the great menu options but will be prepared with cash next time!!

Dined here with our bowling crew, a party of 11. The alligator bites, gnocchi and cornbread were very good. I had the fig old fashion which was great. My entree was the shrimp and grits. It was great.

Chicken biryani and mutton curry and mango lassi was great! Pani-puri was not so good. assorted appetizer was 🤮, i do not recommend, and it came after all the other food, it’s an appetizer! And I ordered a keema naan and they said they were out after waiting for about an hour. they did mention they were short staffed which i understand and i dont mind waiting. but getting the order wrong, and charging me for something they said they were out of was not cool. they did fix the bill after i asked them to. the food is usually good, the service is usually good, thats why i like to come here often. but it was just not up to par this time.

The food was really good! I got the chicken tandoori and it was yummy. My husband got the chicken andhra curry which he said was good. We also got the chicken 65 appetizer which was good. The servers were a little inattentive at the beginning of the meal. They were not busy when we were there. The initial wait when seated was 5-10 mins which we were appraised of and totally fine with. It was very sweet of them to give the women dining today a rose for Mother’s Day.

Man. I can’t speak for everyone but this food was incredible. Food was filling and cooked to perfection. Seriously changed my world. We got the appetizer - which was amazing and served promptly, followed by our main courses of chicken tikka masala and chicken shahi korma. Also garlic naan. Everything and I mean everything was delicious but I was particularly pleased with the chicken korma. Servers were nice and attentive. Very welcoming as you come and go

Good restaurant with a mix of North and South Indian dishes. I think they do North Indian menu much better than the South Indian ones. I liked paneer tikka masala, Navrathan Kurma and Garlic Naan. Their Raita was also good. Definitely recommend for visitors or those who want to try Indian food.

I ordered the chicken tikka masala and specifically asked for extra spicy — what I got was literally sweet. This is the kind of place that doesn’t even bother to check your customization notes. They just glance at the receipt, cook it how they always do, and you get what you get. Also the Mint Chutney was so sour me and my grandma could not eat it. Hoping this leaves some constructive criticism for improvement.

Steak perfectly cooked and goes great with the Cajun steak toppings. Loaded baked potato and smoked mac and cheese is delicious. Range rattlers were good with a decent sized shrimp inside. Only complaint I have is that the pecan bread pudding was sold out. A truly great experience.

First time here and it wasnt busy at all but it took our food over 50 mins to get. The mashed potatoes were salty, the fries were salty and too much dressing on our salad. Otherwise it was OK. Probably won't be driving as far as I did to go here again. Our waiter was asking can he get us anything while we waited and I can tell he noticed our food took awhile.

Had a wonderful meal and great service tonight. Started with Range Rattlers, mains of Urban Cowboy and Filet Oscar that were both cooked perfectly medium. The cheesecake dessert was amazing too. I highly recommend!

Good… not great! It’s been a while, so we decided to grab lunch. The place is nice, much nicer than most chain restaurants. Personally don’t care for the “Bro Pop country music”, but I get it. The service was on point and enjoyed their “special cocktail” list. Did not like being asked immediately if we wanted to sign up for their “loyalty program”. We ordered the Hot Nashville chicken sandwich, (which the waitress warned that it was more buffalo style than Nashville). Also ordered the steak salad. The sandwich was fine, but not “Hot Nashville”. The salad was good, not great. The steak was cooked fine to medium rare, but had hard boiled eggs that were dry and cold. Seems like that were boiled then kept in the cooler. Also asked for fresh ground pepper which took quite awhile to get (obviously have only one pepper mill. Overall we were underwhelmed to say the least. 🤷‍♂️

Not the best golden corral, actually is the worst I have been The people are good, kind, etc. The food not the better, the mc and cheese it's not the same that other golden corral. The good is that the dessert were very good and with everything. In other golden corral the ice cream never works. The thing they have to get better is the place, very old, dirty, it's not like the other golden corral. Also in new orleans the kids are free, here only the ones under 3. Sorry but not the best place to go, but I think they will work for it

Server was good… only good thing I can say about this place. Still had 1.5 hours left until close, no cooks at the grill. Instead they’re in the back eating the food that we payed for but can’t even get any lol. Back there eating it on paper towels. And then the icing on top….. we go back to the salad bar….. they have about 15 termites, dead and alive, just chilling on the deviled eggs. Told the manager and he was pretty unapologetic. Said the termites were attracted to the lights….. looks like they are attracted to the eggs to me. DO NOT EAT HERE!

Food has really gone down hill here. Doesn't taste fresh, wasnt hot, and we watched a cook touch raw steaks with gloves on and then use those same gloves to hand the cooked steaks out. The roof was leaking next to our table. The waitress wasnt the best either, had to repeat myself 10 times to her, can barely hear when she is talking. Very friendly staff. Place is decorated very cool! Awesome selection of premium sodas and tea. The sliders were so good. Top quality ingredients for sure. Chicken was perfectly fried not greasy at all. Crispy and tender. The beef one was equally as perfect. Seasoned well and cooked perfectly.

The biscuit for the bacon egg and cheese biscuit was excellent. So was the egg. The bacon was a bit soggy for me. The pork belly bacon for the breakfast taco was a little over cooked for me. The tortilla was excellent. The egg and onion was excellent as well. We took the food togo. Some of the chairs are not comfortable, and some are not that sturdy because they have 3 feet not 4. I do not care for the fountain drinks there. They are not coke or Pepsi products. The "cola" tasted funny last time I tried it.
Trey's E — Google review
I'm still kind of saddened that one of the previous burritos was taken off of the menu. It had a cheesy type of sauce. The newer pork belly has a spicy sauce, but I do not get the spicy sauce because I do not care for very spicy food. The egg and pico was excellent. The sangria donut glaze was excellent. The sugar Orange Peel was excellent. I find that the donut had a peculiar flavor, and was very dry, and dense.
G B — Google review
The rooster fried chicken sandwich tasted great, but it was a little too salty. The sliders looked good. They didn't have the Best House Salad or the pro belly slider in stock, so I have to dock a star for that. It's Sunday lunch so they should have those.
May G — Google review
The food tastes great--especially the doughnuts--but the service is sometimes iffy. Like yesterday, they ran out of biscuits, but the manager insisted that people could order biscuits anyway; people ended up waiting 20 minutes for a breakfast sandwich. The lady next to me had been waiting for 25 minutes for a drink: she ended up having to notify staff twice that her order hadn't been fulfilled--both times the staff member said they'd get right on her order, but it took talking to the manager to actually get her drink. Also, their "orange juice" is actually satsuma juice, and boy is it intense! It's probably the only thing on the menu I would drink as their coffee drinks...well, something tastes off about them.
Catsur N — Google review
Watched as the guy serving the donuts typed out a 10 minute text while the line was backed up. Ended up having my 2 children cordoned off in a booth for that time while I was pretty frustrated. I ordered 4 donuts and I could see them! There wasn't a reason for the line to be as backed up other than this guy didn't take his meds or was having an existential crisis on the phone. Sorry but I probably won't be back. Your donuts were good. He literally moved around the whole store on the phone. I tipped $5 before knowing how the service was.

Bartender/server refused to look at me, ask if I wanted a menu, water, food, etc. she was standing next to me for some time and walked back and forth near me repeatedly. This went on for 10-15 min. Finally another person came up and she was very nice and helped me. She was attentive as she had time for when clearly my spot was supposed to be handled by the first person who continued to ignore me the 45 min or so I was there. I was in from out of town for my masters graduation and was dressed nicely, friendly, I always tip more than 20%, etc. I never give a thought to the color of skin where I live, but apparently being a senior white female was a big issue for this one server. Luckily I will never be back. I get that there is a lot of history in this area, but I never was a part of any of it and I’m sorry for all the wrong doings of all the people that came before us. However, If you are in the service industry, you should be color blind.

Please make it a little brighter the lights are so dim it makes it hard to see the menu. Hire experienced staff please, if your waitress gets overwhelmed maybe it's time to get in another line of work. Orders were mixed up...it was a lot going on. Most of the people had already ordered their food, so I'm not sure what happened but anyway, everyone in our party did get a very good discount. But I definitely will not be back.

Sure it was a Saturday, 755ish. Wait time 35-45min. Waited 5 minutes got sat, "dope!".... Waited about 10 mins before our waiter came, ordered drinks and was told bread was baking, it'll be out soon. Drinks took about 15 mins for my kid and I. At which point we ordered our meals, kids steak bites medium rare with fries, ribeye rare and for the life of me, can't remember my side(there's reasons why). Bread took about another 20 mins to get to our table. And 45 mins mins after ordering our main meals, they came out. Kids steaks bites, spot on, little man loved them.... RIBEYE MEDIUM WELL! Well at this point I just sip on my soda, let littleman finish, roughly 15-20ish minutes and didn't see the waiter not once, found the manager, explained my displeasure (this is why they get 3 stars, because this man made it EZ for us). Rest assured he informed me that a Ribeye could come out kicking and screaming in just a few minutes, to which I said I completely get it but I'm just ready to pay for my kids meal and our drinks and he said no problem let me box up your kids leftovers and asked if I'd still like to keep the steak. I told him no thank you, I won't take what I didn't order or pay for. And he made quick of it and then proceeded to discount the entire ordered, to which I say, Thank you! Good sir, I honestly was just ready to leave and you made the ending service smooth.

We stopped by for dinner after viewing the Nutcracker, and to start, the host was not the friendliest. We mentioned we had a party of 8, and she stated she would have to get the manager to seat us. I didn’t mind talking to the manager, but we had to talk to three other employees before the manager was finally notified to accommodate us. We were seated together, but we mentioned we didn’t have to sit together to prevent disrupting logistics. The waitress took the beverage order, and later returned to take the food order. The order was a bit delayed, but we received everything except for an order of wings. By the time the wings were delivered to the table, we were all done eating. The manager did come and remove the wings from the order, which we did thank him for as he did not have to do it. Other than that, the food was okay. There were several items they were not offered during our visit, so that limited the selection of food we had to choose from. I would recommend more training for the staff because communication is key, and it was lacked during our visit.

Atomic Burger is a must-visit spot in Baton Rouge, known for its vibrant retro-modern ambiance and mouthwatering craft burgers. This local gem has quickly become a favorite among diners, especially during its grand opening when the excitement was palpable. The menu features an array of delicious options, including their popular jamburger slider trio paired with crunchy fries that keep patrons coming back for more. The welcoming staff adds to the experience, ensuring that every visit feels special.
This was my first time trying them and I will say, it was probably the best restaurant turkey burger I've had in a while. Very flavorful and juicy. I enjoyed the brioche bun and the size, you can't beat. The fries were really good as well great texture. I got a deal that made them bogo, so that was a huge bonus for me. I will be back again for the turkey burger.

I live near by so I've been here a bunch. I feel like the quality has been slowly declining. My go to has been the Nashville Hot chicken sandwich. They used to have these big slabs of breast meat, a good crispy fry on it, flavored really well. The one I got today would be lucky to pass as a McChicken. A sandwich + fries is almost $15. The sandwich in this photo is not a 15 dollar chicken sandwich. This was pretty disappointing.

Excellent burgers, different varieties of dipping sauces for your fries, and easy to get to. Situated right next to a traffic light, it's super easy to get in and out of even if your towing. Plenty of parking lot.

I have gone to Atomic Burger numerous times since they opened in BR. Their turkey burgers are my favorite! I usually get their lettuce wrap so they do have a few “healthier “ alternatives you can choose. I think they have a vegetarian burger as well, but haven’t tried it. They recently changed out their fries for the better which was the only thing I used to find lacking. I always use drive through which is usually quick. Shakes are pretty good too sometimes a little thick for using a straw.

I always do the Drive-thru, but have always gotten through quickly; Burgers, fries & shakes amazing!!! Bit more expensive than neighboring places, but worth it b/c of delicious food!! Have enjoyed coming here for two years now, hope it will always stay here!!

I've had several different burgers, and they have all just been ok. The restaurant itself is bright and flashy. The milkshakes are phenomenal, especially the salted caramel one. Service is always professional, and the employees are always helpful and courteous.

My kids and I love Atomic Burger. We have tried both of their locations and its consistent in taste and service. It is pricey but you get what you pay for, which is great tasting burgers (whichever you pick), fresh handcut fries and amazing shakes. It’s ok to splurge once in a while.

One of my favorite go-to burger places in BR. Love the Green chili burger with hand-cut fries. Also love the sauce bar with a nice variety of condiments. Staff is always friendly and the restaurant is clean.

Mexican restaurant
We satisfied our craving by ordering tacos, queso, and street corn from AGAVE BLUE TEQUILA & TACO BAR through a delivery service. The food was delicious, so we're excited to try it in person. Later on, a friend and I visited the restaurant for Happy Hour and enjoyed sitting outside on the patio. We indulged in appetizers and margaritas while being served by a friendly and attentive server.
Went to Agave and had a great experience. Service was great, was greated at the door, and sat right away. Vibe had more of a modernistic industrial approach, while maintaining the Mexican restaurant vibe. Booth seating and table seating, TVs all around for sports, and also has a bar to sit and have a drink. The place was clean, and the food was really good. If it's your first time here, I recommend you trying out the tacos, the variety seems to be full of flavor!

Good food. Friendly servers. Easy location to get in and out of with plenty of parking. Nice bar area - seemed pretty lively when we were there.

Agave Blue Tequila and Taco Bar offers an exceptional Mexican dining experience in Prairieville. From the host to our server, the staff provided outstanding service. The Mango Margarita was a refreshing delight, and the chicken enchiladas (Verdaes Huastecas) were filled with savory shredded chicken in a tasty tomatillo sauce. The Quesa-Birria was a masterclass in flavor, with tender, perfectly seasoned meat and a rich, satisfying Birria broth. We highly recommend Agave Blue for a memorable dining experience.

we came here for my sister birthday brunch and we’ve been here multiple times and got the $16 bottomless mimosas. in the past we’ve only paid the $16 one time for 2 people and got multiple bottles of champagne. this time in particular they charged us twice for the bottomless mimosas even tho only 2 people drank the bottomless mimosas and they wouldnt give us more than one bottle of champagne unless we paid for another bottomless mimosa. doesnt seem very bottomless, and i feel like we were charged for an extra bottomless mimosa.

Event venue
Restaurant
The Crown Bistro is a cozy and elegant spot that offers delicious food and excellent service. The chicken club sandwiches are described as fantastic, while the shrimp and corn soup received mixed feedback due to its lack of shrimp. However, the staff's response to an unexpected situation left a positive impression on customers, who were grateful for their understanding and generosity. Visitors praise the manager, Marilyn, for her warm welcome and attentive service.

I attended a Bridesmaids Luncheon on May 1, 2025. The venue was clean and appropriately decorated. Greg was our on-site contact and he was wonderful! He was attentive and responded promptly to all requests. We did a little extra decorating (table setting with linens, flowers and such - nothing major) only because we are Southern women and OCD about that stuff. The food was spectacular and plentiful. I didn't give everthing 5 stars because then they would have nothing to aspire to. All in all, a very pleasant and special experience. Kudos to the Crown Bistro!
Sonya K — Google review
Our experience at this wedding venue was deeply disappointing due to what we believe was racial discrimination. From the very first meeting, which I attended alone, I was met with an unwelcoming and dismissive attitude. This feeling intensified during our second meeting when I brought my fiancé with me, where it became clear we were not the type of clients they wanted to work with. The staff’s behavior was consistently unprofessional. Our questions were met with short, unhelpful answers, and the event managers were overtly disrespectful to my African American decorator. The most insulting moment occurred when one event manager condescendingly asked me, a well-traveled and educated Black woman, if I knew what pork belly was. This question felt deliberately demeaning and out of place. When we voiced our concerns about feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome, the venue's response was completely dismissive. They offered no apology, and their lack of genuine concern confirmed our suspicions about the source of the negative treatment. Due to this experience, we were forced to cancel our wedding at the last minute. We found another venue that respects its clients, and we will never return to Crown Bistro.
Sherita B — Google review
I was there today with seven friends. Three of us ordered the chicken club sandwiches. Our sandwiches were out of this world fantastic. Best sandwich I have ever had. All of us loved our food, except that one friend, who ordered the shrimp and corn soup, had one shrimp in her bowl of soup. She wasn't going to say anything, so I brought it up to the waitress when she asked how our food was. The waitress's response was, "Well, we were really busy." Then she asked how that one shrimp was. My friend didn't find her comment funny. So I guess when they are busy, you might get your food served properly or you might not. A simple apology would have been enough for my friend, but the comment shouldn't have been made.

The Crown Bistro is hidden gem in Baton Rouge. Their food is amazing and I am especially a fan of their berry goat cheese salad. We have always had attentive service here which keeps us coming back.

The food was amazing. Everyone at my office loved it.
Sarah M — Google review
The venue genuinely does not deserve one star, but in order for me to leave a review I had to rate them. Let me start out by saying that I have been here for brunch prior to 04/23/2002, and have never had any issues. I booked a brunch for my mother’s 63rd birthday, with roughly 10 guests. When I spoke with Gabrielle ( restaurant manager), she informed me that she had two other large parties around the time that I was booked for, so our food may take a little while to get to us, due to kitchen having one oven. Because she was gracious enough to provide this information ahead time, I let her know that I was totally understanding of their situation, and would order champagne and appetizers ahead of time, as to not have my mother’s guests sitting for an hour with no refreshments. I went in the Thursday prior, and paid $250 for appetizers to be ready upon our arrival. The event started for 11a, in which all guests arrived on time, with the exception of myself. Once I arrived at 12p, I seated myself and asked my mom if entree orders had been taken? She responded with no, telling me that the waitress, Kara was waiting for me to arrive to begin to put orders in. I sat for 30 minutes and the waitress never acknowledged me, came back to check on our table, or even refill drinks… As a matter of fact, she stood conversing with two other women at a table adjacent from ours. At 12:45p, I excused myself from the table and, apologized to Kara for interrupting her conversation, but whenever she was ready, my guests were ready to order. As I turned my back and walked away, my guest witnessed Kara roll her eyes at me, then as I take my seat, I witness her very disrespectfully lift menu’s in her hand to her mouth, and proceeds to talk about me and my guests, to the two women at the other table. The two women then start looking at our group as if there were some type of issue. I am completely puzzled at this point, so once Kara finally makes her way over (5 minutes later), I begin to voice my concerns. Kara immediately cuts me off, without apology and grabs her manager. The manager, Ms. Gabrielle, was also dismissive, and took things a step further when she allowed Kara to challenge me in front of guests and other employees. Never pulling her from the floor or trying to diffuse the situation, other than positioning herself somewhat in front of Kara, during a verbal exchange that I was having with her employee, who had the audacity to give me a hard stare, for simply asking for her name to make a formal complaint for her extremely poor service . This establishment will NEVER see my money again, retail or restaurant side. Also, to add injury to insult I am of African American decent, as was Kara…. Everyone else there that day, including the two women she was so kindly attending to…. Caucasian. In the future train your black employees to check their attitudes at the door… Thank goodness I have common sense, because this could have ended horribly had it been someone else.
