The Ruby Slipper is a vibrant cafe that exudes a passion for brunch, offering a relaxed atmosphere and an array of delectable Southern fare. The menu boasts an impressive selection of signature omelets, French toast bites, pig candy bacon bites, fried green tomatoes, loaded tots, seasonal beignets, and various twists on Eggs Benedict. From the indulgent Bananas Foster French Toast to the savory biscuits and gravy and shrimp and grits, there's something to satisfy every palate.
We solo by for a quick rest of our road trip and to try the pancakes. My wife got the Cinnamon Swirl Pancakes. They were tasty and flavorful. They tasted like a freshly made Cinnamon roll. I had the Bananas Foster French Toast. They were delisious. The service was excellent, the food came out pretty fast. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. We found the pancakes and French Toast pretty pricey for it to be served without any eggs or sides.

This was my first visit, and it was amazing! Everything was delicious from start to finish and our server Hailey was great. If I was staying in town longer I would definitely return! Get the French toast bites, you won’t be disappointed!
Laurie C — Google review
We were among the lucky first customers on the Saturday morning we dined here, having waited in the parking lot for the doors to open. We were promptly seated, but from there, the promptness gave way to a surprisingly slow pace. Our server was friendly, kind, and always wore a smile, which we appreciated. However, the overall service was unusually slow—so much so that it left us genuinely puzzled. The restaurant appeared adequately staffed, and there wasn’t much of a crowd, so the delay didn’t seem to have an obvious cause. That said, everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and thoroughly enjoyable. The food absolutely delivered. Still, the lag in service was the slowest we've experienced in recent memory, and without any clear explanation, it stood out. As visitors from Kansas, we’ve heard that Southern hospitality can have a more relaxed pace, but this caught us off guard. We’d definitely return for the food—but next time, we’ll come prepared for a leisurely experience.

Fantastic Breakfast Spot! Great breakfast place in Baton Rouge! The Benedicts and shrimp and grits were absolutely delicious—flavorful and cooked to perfection. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town!

The food was delicious! Got the French toast bites to share and they were gone so fast! The breakfast sandwich was classic and the biscuit was fluffy & so good. A great spot for breakfast or brunch! 😊

I took my sister here for the 1st time and the food is absolutely amazing! Our server Hailey was so great in helping us decide on what to choose on the menu. YOU NEED TO TRY THE FRENCH TOAST BITES!!!!! Food so GOOD! We will definitely be frequenting here 😋😋😋

Wow! The service was wonderful as was the food. I had the salmon avocado toast and it was amazing. My husband had the breakfast tacos with chorizo. I would definitely come back here again if we are in town.

Another Broken Egg Cafe is a casual chain that offers a variety of breakfast items, including egg dishes and brunch sandwiches. This small restaurant chain from Lafayette has gained recognition for its delicious food, beating out both national chains and local favorites. The menu features classic American breakfast dishes with a creative twist, such as Cinnamon Roll French Toast, savory crab cakes, and omelets.
Our waiter was exceptional! I forgot her name, but she was very sweet and checked in occasionally. She had glasses, if that helps. 😊 the food was very good, and so were the mocktails. A friend of mine ordered one along the lines of "Pineberry," but I ordered the "strawberry lemonade" option. Very clean establishment, very friendly and open! 10/10.
Desdain R — Google review
Food was delicious, especially the beignet bites. Service was slow and we had to wait some time for the beignet bites to arrive. Also no pre-bussing so we crammed the dessert into a full tables of dirty dishes.

I brought my husband for his birthday to start his day with a great meal and he really enjoyed it. It was worth our two hour drive to this restaurant. Trust me we will be back!!! Chance was the best server! Thank you, Chance!

So i came to start my new job up the street and was about two hours early. So to eat we go. Walked in and sat at the bar and was served by Alex. Absolute sweet heart. Great service. Super personable and funny. Another guest showed up at the bar to wait for her friend and she also got the same experience. Also the coworkers have a good relationship as well. 🥹 Food was good and so was my coffee! Food came out so fast! 10/10 recommend.

Our waitress name was Angel and her personality for the time she approached our table was just awesome. She was very knowledgeable of all the items we were interesting and her recommendations were awesome. Great atmosphere and great service.

excellent breakfast place, opens early, good service, I believe my server's name was Cody. The veggie omelet was excellent and sizable, the cheesy grits were tasty, the virgin bloody mary had a slab of bacon and a flag-pole sized crisp celery stalk, very good. And the coffee! it was excellent, some of the best straight coffee I'd had in Baton Rouge. Good stuff! Reasonably priced
Jim S — Google review

Awesome fall brunch menu, super friendly service by Stacy, even though we came in at 1:30 pm and they close at 2 pm. Excellent all the way around. We always stop here en route to Mandeville, and we’ll recommend to everyone we know. 😊

Great little place! Everything on the menu was tempting, so choosing was a challenge. The staff were extremely helpful and attentive (a big plus these days). The food was spectacular. We are disappointed we’ve missed out and hadn’t tried it sooner. We’ll be back and try some other menu items. ❤️

Was there today for lunch that was a reunion and birthday lunch for an 87 year old friend who traveled from out of state to be with family and friends. I’ve eaten here many times and the food and atmosphere were great as usual, but the server was kind and very attentive. When former Louisiana residents come home they always want to eat at the best places and I was was delighted to introduce her to BB Willow Grove! Over the years I’ve probably eaten nearly everything on the menu. This time I had the tomato basil soup and the seared tuna appetizer. Yum! I think that’s the best tomato basil soup in town!
Marsanne G — Google review
Went here today for lunch and it was a pleasant experience. Service was good, priced reasonably with good portions and overall good experience. Ordered the shrimp and grits, chicken avocado but and hamburger steak with mashed potatoes and green beans. Everything was good 👍🏽 my only complaint is that the grits weren't hot and we asked for no tomato on the blt, but it still came out with tomatoes on it. Other than that, everything was nice!
Claudia L — Google review
I ordered the Pot Roast Creole today to go because I was pressing for time. I was craving this for 3 days. Of course, the food was amazing and did not disappoint! This dish consists of tender pot roast, garlic mashed potatoes with Creole gravy, and fresh green beans. The meat bursts with juice and so much flavor. Every dish cooked to perfection. Might I add, they have the best carrot souffle in town. Hands down! I have to have a side, every time! I also would recommend their Debris Blue Cheese Chips! OMG!
Shannon W — Google review
Great lunch spot. Tried the blue cheese chips and fried French Dip. Both were excellent!
Candace M — Google review
Consistently good food! Love this place and their salads are amazing. Tuna and/or blackened shrimp are regulars. Great place to chill out after work. Good vibe, clean, friendly staff, awesome bar, convenient location. Highly recommend!
Jonathan P — Google review
You have to try the salmon. It was cooked to perfection. I ordered it with garlic mashed potatoes and broccoli. Both of the sides were also cooked exceptionally well. The bleu Mac and cheese was too bleu cheesy so I didn’t like it, but that’s a personal preference. We also got drinks off the happy hour menu and they were delicious. The server was really attentive and when we went we were able to have the whole restaurant to ourselves because it was after the lunch rush. The salmon alone is worth the visit.
Ashley P — Google review
First time here, my husband and I enjoyed it. The salmon was so flavorful, right along with the veggies that came with it. My husband has the back of house chicken and he enjoyed it. Their drinks are on point and the chips and cheese are good. Everything was hot and came out quickly

Breakfast restaurant
Louie's Cafe is a beloved LSU-area institution that has been serving up classic diner fare since 1941. Originally located near the North Gates of LSU, it later moved to a larger location due to high demand. Open 24/7, it caters to students, sports fans, and loyal customers with its breakfast, lunch, and dinner offerings. The cafe has become an integral part of LSU tradition and is especially popular during game season.
Visited 05/27/25 We had the pleasure of enjoying breakfast at Louie’s Café during our Memorial Day vacation, and it was like stepping back in time in the best way possible. There’s something so comforting about a true old-school diner, and Louie’s captures that charm perfectly, from the throwback tables and chairs to the classic ceramic coffee cups with saucers that instantly transported us to simpler times. We didn’t order anything fancy—just the basics—but everything was done exceptionally well. The hash browns, in particular, had a unique spin that absolutely delivered on flavor. It’s the kind of place where every detail feels thoughtful, from the friendly service to the hearty, satisfying food. One of the first things we noticed was a group of older gentlemen gathered over coffee and conversation, which is always a good sign you’ve found a local gem. While we’d love to say breakfast is impossible to mess up, experience has taught us otherwise. Thankfully, Louie’s is proof that there’s also a right way to do it—and they’ve got it down. A special shoutout to our server (whose name, regrettably, we didn’t catch). He mentioned he'd been working there for a couple of years, and his warmth and attentiveness put the "H" in Hospitality. If we ever find ourselves in the area again, Louie’s will be our first stop for breakfast—no question about it.
Wanderfish — Google review
I visited Louise’s based on the positive reviews on Google. While the restaurant itself has an old school atmosphere and wasn’t particularly busy during our visit, the wait time for food was unexpectedly long. Unfortunately, that lack of efficiency really overshadowed the experience. I wouldn’t recommend this place to others, simply because of how long everything took. It’s a pass for me—more of a place to avoid than suggest. The whole experience felt like a 3-star visit.
R&E R — Google review
This is basically a Baton Rouge version of Waffle House on LSU’s campus. We visited on game day, so there was about a 30 minute wait. I ordered the combo #1. This combo included two eggs, a sausage patty, hash-browns, and I ordered French toast for a up-charge. This restaurant has a simple concept, but everything was very good.
Jaelyn M — Google review
Louie's Café has been a cherished tradition for me over the years, and it continues to impress with every visit. This time, I indulged in their brunch special—Eggs Breaux Bridge. This dish features a savory grits cake topped with andouille sausage, crawfish, and shrimp, all smothered in a rich shrimp and corn cream sauce. The combination was nothing short of delicious.([\[225\]][1]) My companions also savored their meals, with standout choices like the Eggs Louisianne—poached eggs on English muffins with shrimp, crawfish, and onions, finished with a spicy, buttery herb cream sauce. The flavors were bold and satisfying.([\[225\]][1]) The service was attentive and friendly, making our dining experience even more enjoyable. I also appreciated the newer location on Lake Street, which offers more seating and convenient parking, enhancing the overall experience. Whether you're a longtime patron or a first-time visitor, Louie's Café remains a must-visit spot in Baton Rouge. It consistently delivers quality food, great service, and a nostalgic atmosphere that keeps me coming back.
Jackson B — Google review
What a hidden gem! Louie’s Cafe completely restored my faith that there was good food to be found on my vacation. The service was excellent — Tom, my server, was amazing and really made me feel welcome. The food was perfect homemade fare, from the delicious cubed hash browns with sautéed onions, to the thick, crispy bacon, perfectly cooked over-easy eggs, and a fluffy short stack of pancakes. Even the coffee was the best I had during my whole week in Louisiana. Highly recommend this place — it’s exactly what a great local diner should be!
Leroy C — Google review
It's a great place with great food. I would definitely recommend. I had their pancakes (awesome) an Omelette (awesome) Shrimp and grits (freaking awesome) Patty melt with a huge amount of crispy cheese hanging on the side of it. (Rediculously awesome). The only negatives is the wait to be seated because they are busy, a little cramped for seating because they're busy. And the exit ot parking will scrap the bottom of your vehicle if it is low to the ground. I would still recommend easily.
Sam C — Google review
This place was amazing. They were packed but got you on fairly quickly. The service was very friendly. The food was great. The prices were fair. The atmosphere was pleasant. Would recommend for a quick bite.
Melanie K — Google review
I have been eating at Louie's since the early 2000s. Now that im older and moved back it's one of my favorite spots. Biscuits are always fluffy and so good, hash browns with seasoning and onions and peppers are probably my favorite thing their!!! Add a side of Bacon and it's definitely a win. Service is always great and food comes out really quick. 😋

The restaurant prides itself on using locally sourced and fresh ingredients to create Louisiana Southern cuisine, including an array of seafood options. Came here for a night cap drink but ended up have a host of plates. Over performed for sure. The crab cakes were the best plate we tried, with real seafood. The burger slapped as well. The patty was great chuck.

I celebrated my birthday dinner here with friends in 2023, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Valet parking made arrival easy, and the ambiance set the tone for a classy night out. The food was absolutely amazing — flavorful, beautifully presented, and well worth the visit. What stood out even more was the building’s architecture. The original design and elevators have been preserved, giving the space a unique charm that blends history with elegance. Overall: 5/5. Highly recommend for a sophisticated evening in downtown Baton Rouge.

Surprisingly good food. Gumbo was the best. Staff attentive and friendly. Clean, quiet area for a nice relaxing meal. Nice choices for breakfast including a fresh berry option instead of mixed fruit which is so often chunks of under-ripe melon.

One of the most unforgettable dining experiences in Baton Rouge! From the warm welcome to the impeccable service. The food is an absolute flavor immersion.
Stef — Google review
Halfway decent food but the atmosphere isn’t worthy of it. I'm not even going to dive into the food really because it's irrelevant to how awful the atmosphere and service here is. Honestly, I had a feeling this was going to be a waste of time the second we walked in and drunk idiots were standing and shouting at the top of their lungs at the adjacent bar without being checked by the hotel or restaurant staff. I was right. We arrived at 4:50 for 5:00 reservations. The host table wasn't staffed until ~5 minutes after our reservation so we weren't seated until after our reservation time. He looked bothered that we were there and was not welcoming at all. We only received food menus with no drink menus. Our server asked if we wanted something other than water, but we advised we didn't receive a drink menu so we didn't know. He brought us a tablet with a drink menu on it only after asking and warned that they didn't have everything on the menu without going into specifics. How lovely. We were seated facing the hotel entrance so there were people standing around our table, taking pictures, and having loud conversations. A “date night” place this is not although that’s what it sells itself as. Do not be fooled; it’s an average but extremely overpriced restaurant in the middle of a busy hotel lobby. Seriously, it’s a small seating area cordoned off by stanchions and velvet ropes from the rest of the lobby. It’s not a separate area or anything, so people are coming in with music playing on their phones, loud luggage rolling on the floor, etc. Just terrible. To boot, this was booked as a birthday dinner for my wife and there wasn’t a *single* mention of it from the host or server at any point. I couldn’t have been more disappointed in that. Something so basic just overlooked I suppose. No restaurant worth its salt would ever let that happen. But it’s why we will never return and why I will never recommend this place to anyone for a special event. Ambience here is way, way off and there are better restaurants nearby that do it right. We walked out of here having spent $200+ including tip on 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, a dessert, and 3 drinks and we were happier to be leaving than we were to be there. Don't say you weren't warned.

SoLou in Baton Rouge offers a unique dining experience with its Southern comfort food served with a modern twist. The restaurant's brunch menu, featuring dishes like shrimp and grits and bottomless mimosas, allows visitors to savor the flavors of Baton Rouge. The spacious open-air patio adorned with hanging lights provides an ideal setting for a leisurely weekend morning with friends. SoLou's casual and airy ambiance, along with its delicious food, makes it a popular choice for brunch in the area.
I picked SoLou for a Saturday morning brunch after checking the menu & seeing a unique number of menu items. As pictured below, this establishment has a little something for everyone. The manager, Lauren made sure to make our experience memorable and would check up on us often & take care of any issues that arises. The staff was friendly and helpful as our table had limited real estate and dishes has to be constantly cycled for room purposes. Wanted to give a special shout out to the manager as she literally did it all. From cleaning tables, to birthdays, to coffee cups, to running food. I have never seen a floor manager take such an active approach to make sure each guest was so well taken care of. Kudos to you! SoLou has speciality dishes, unique ambience, and a very welcoming vibe. Thank you for taking the time to make us feel special and making sure we left full. 5/5 phenomenal

The shrimp corn dogs were really good! A great appetizer to share with 4 people. The shrimp and grits were also good if you don't mind a savory style of grits. The burger was okay, nothing to brag about. Chicken and waffles had a good flavor and was a crowd favorite. The ambiance/ atmosphere did not match the style of the food. When walking in it seems like a restaurant where you could dress up a bit but the food was giving dress down. Our server was great and catered to our every need. We did get some slight frozen tater tots and sent those back. Other than that, SoLou was a cute eatery but the food could have been better.

In town for a dance convention so I googled places to eat and SoLou came up as a top place so we decided to give it a try for Sunday brunch. It did not disappoint. It was packed when we got there. Hostess said there was a 30 min wait but we got seated in less than 15. Waitress was super nice. She recommended the LouBerry and margarita drink. We enjoyed them. Also we had the crabmeat cheesecake and hot crawfish dip and they both were delicious. For dessert, we had the bread pudding. All of it was 10/10. Also, they serve pork rinds complimentary while you wait on your food. Seemed like everyone was celebrating a birthday that day so I know the staff sung Happy Birthday at least 10 times while we were there, but they all did it with a smile! Even the manager was singing right along with them. She even came by checking on us a couple of times. Great atmosphere and good fresh food. Will def go back.

Unimpressed with my visit and food unfortunately. Really would give 3.5 stars. We had a party of 7 with a reservation at 1:15pm. I called them saying we were running a few mins late and was told that was fine and we would get seated once we got there. We arrived and waited almost 45 minutes before being seated! What’s the purpose of a reservation if we still have to wait?! The ambiance was good bo complaints there. Busy for Sunday brunch. The food left us feeling underwhelmed. The shrimp corn dogs tasted like they were right out of the freezer. The cauliflower was decent. The crawfish scramble was decent but literally had no seasoning, had to add salt n pepper. Just really disappointed because I came in with high hopes.

We’re in town for bowling and found this great spot by chance. Fantastic spicy gumbo and sweet crab and corn chowder! The truffle Mac and Cheese was delicious and creamy and everything was piping hot! I didn’t get our bartenders name but he was super attentive and made delicious cocktails. Wasn’t very busy when we arrived but was full by the time we left. Great atmosphere, music was just right.

We had a fantastic time at SoLou! Our server Haven was so friendly and helpful. The smoked old fashioned was one of the best I’ve had in town. The crab and brie grilled cheese was so savory and the salmon dish hit all the right flavor notes. We topped off the evening with a table side s’mores set up. Definitely worth every penny!

My group visited SoLou Baton Rouge on a Sunday for brunch. Our waiter was fantastic and the food was delicious! I feel like their prices are pretty good and the atmosphere was great! The patio is nice but everyone would benefit from more air circulation. I would suggest SoLou to anyone! 5 Stars!

Ordered through doordash for delivery. Tried the appetizer cauliflower. It was delicious. The Thai sauce & spicy mayo give it a great kick & burst of flavor. Its a large quantity. I was happy with the sauces on the side so it wasn't mushy by the time it reached me. Appreciate that. The side mashed potatoes were decent. The cheddar tater tots were okay. The broccolini was very salty for me. It came with cotton candy & pork chips. They give complimentary cotton candy if you aren't ordering dessert already. Food was clean & tasty. Would definitely dine in and try other entrees. One thing to note is doordash increases the price of each item by a few dollars. Check out the real prices on their website. Another note for doordash is inaccurate description of the items. Ordered a sensation salad-description read tomato, red onion, cucumber, etc. The sensation salad was only lettuce & almonds. It was good but only 2 ingredients & the dressing was thicker then a vinaigrette. Loved the creole cheesecake! Fun dessert. The crunchy aspect was a great surprise. Had caramel, chocolate, raspberry.

If you're in Baton Rouge and craving a taste of authentic Southern cuisine, look no further than Frank's Restaurant. This beloved establishment has been serving up BBQ and Cajun classics for years, making it a staple for locals and visitors alike. Known for its mouthwatering homemade biscuits—often touted as the best in the world—Frank's is the perfect spot to indulge in hearty breakfast dishes any time of day.
Amazing breakfast, homemade biscuits, large portions. Service was impeccable, the staff were friendly and attentive. I would definitely recommend the Mexican hash browns, they are big enough for two people to enjoy despite the beans in the chili it was delicious.

Thank you from the bottom of my stomach, Franks on Airline! My breakfast was absolutely amazing. My waitress, Erica, was so sweet and kind, and my order came out perfect. I’m usually a chicken fried steak girl, but thanks to Destiny’s suggestion, I switched it up today and tried the hamburger steak with grilled onions and brown gravy—delicious! I had my eggs slightly scrambled with a side of grits and buttered toast. Talk about lick-your-chops good! I appreciate those cooks as well! Franks on Airline Baton Rouge never disappoints, and I’ll definitely be back.

I have never been here but Google keeps insisting that I leave a review. The food that I never ate was the best I've never eaten. The service I didn't receive was superior to and service I've never had before. The atmosphere was much more atmospheric than any atmosphere that I've never atmosphered.

Food was excellent and highly recommended if you have never tried this restaurant. Definitely a busy establishment with so many people having breakfast. I will say knowing that the wait for the food is worth it especially getting my food hot and made to order vs something that has been sitting around. Will definitely be back and try other items on the menu as this place has a lot to offer.

Many years ago I worked near Frank’s Restaurant-Baton Rouge, and ate lunch there almost every day. This morning I had the opportunity to eat there again and it is as good as I remember. The atmosphere is great, old school and classic. The service is always excellent and the food is really great. It’s a real treat to breakfast or dinner here.

After hearing several positive recommendations, decided to give Frank’s Restaurant a try. Unfortunately, my experience didn’t quite live up to the hype. Ordered the Louisiana Jambalaya Omelet with biscuits but was disappointed with the execution. The omelet was overcooked, and the eggs tasted less than fresh, which made the dish unappetizing. The biscuits were hard and dry, only managed a single bite before setting them aside. Perhaps, I just didn’t order the right item, but overall the meal fell short of expectations. That said, I do want to acknowledge the friendly service from the staff, which was a positive note. While I appreciate the warm atmosphere, not sure I’d return based on this experience alone.

I was in Baton Rouge for the USBC Open Championships, and Aurora at Pastime Restaurant recommended Frank's for breakfast. I had the pancakes, which our good, but if you want a lighter feel, go with the French Toast. The eggs, meat, and potatoes will bring you back for more. Rachael, Amanda, and the staff will treat you like they know you! There was a crowd both mornings, so we ate at the counter, and waited briefly when we ate at a table.

Frank’s Restaurant is a gem of culinary delight. With each visit, I am consistently impressed by the exceptional quality of their food. Prepared to order with care, every dish bursts with flavor and freshness, ensuring a memorable dining experience. The warmth and hospitality of the staff further elevate the ambiance, as their genuine smiles and welcoming demeanor make each guest feel like family. Nestled in a quaint country setting, the restaurant exudes charm, creating the perfect backdrop for indulging in delicious meals with loved ones. Moreover, their commitment to supporting local businesses is commendable, reflected in the array of carefully curated products available for purchase. Whether it's a hearty breakfast or a satisfying lunch, Frank’s Restaurant surpasses expectations and emerges as a must-visit destination for anyone seeking culinary excellence in the area.

Cocha is a charming restaurant located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The venue boasts a rustic and wood-hued ambiance, offering a Southern menu with locally sourced ingredients. Guests can enjoy communal table options and an array of delectable dishes such as Lobster Sliders, Peruvian Wrap, Criollo, and Green Shakshuka.
Staff could not have been more pleasant. Wine menu was extensive with solid selections. Our mains were well made with fresh ingredients, unique flavors, and the menu took great care to provide top-notch options for vegans and gluten intolerant folks. While I’m not vegan, the chocolate vegan ice cream was incredibly decadent and delicious. The website pictures made me think seating was communal; it is not. We wish we could move this gem to our town.

Really loved the food here – the vegetarian options were insanely good. Anne Louise was our server and she was super sweet. You’ve gotta try the jackfruit dish and the lasagna – delicious. The presentation was on point too!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Hands-down the best ribeye we’ve ever had! Cocha absolutely blew us away. My husband and I stopped in for dinner and ordered the ribeye steaks with leek purée, mushrooms, and asparagus—and let me tell you, we’re still talking about it! Perfectly cooked, tender, and full of flavor. That leek purée deserves its own fan club. We got the yellowfin tuna & rice as an app and it was spicy and delicious! The service was just as incredible as the food. Jess was our server and she was phenomenal—warm, attentive, and super knowledgeable about the menu and drinks. She made the entire experience even better. We sat out front, which was such a cozy and relaxing spot. The vibe was peaceful and inviting, and since we were staying within walking distance, we got to enjoy a lovely stroll to and from the restaurant. The cocktails? Also a 10/10. Cocha is the whole package: food, drinks, service, and atmosphere. If you’re in Baton Rouge, this place is a must. Five stars all the way! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

We went for brunch and it was wonderful. We sat outside because it was a nice day, they had live music inside that they were piping to the outdoor seating. Our waitress was very well informed and also patient as we tried to narrow down the menu. I was very happy with my decision but will be back soon to try more of their creations!

Gorgeous space, interesting menu choices, stellar service. We went for brunch on a Saturday around 11:30 and there was no wait, only maybe three other tables were sat. I got a Thai julep that was bright and refreshing, my partner got some sour beer on draft that he liked. I got the Japanese patatas bravas, everything about the dish was incredible but the brisket was waaaay overcooked. It was dry like jerky, which was disappointing. The potatoes and egg and kewpie mayo more than made up for that, though. My partner got the pork belly sliders and THOSE were absolute perfection. Phenomenal bite. We would definitely go back for dinner or a weekday lunch.

One of the best restaurants in Baton Rouge hands down. Not only is their food and atmosphere great, their employees are fantastic like the owners. I had my rehearsal dinner there in the back room and all my family loved it. The food was amazing along with the friendly and laid back atmosphere. They made it so easy to reserve for my party size and the service was amazing!

Stopped in for dinner....didn't know it was wine tasting event night but they found us a table in the back. Dinner was excellent but it was a bit pricey (to be fair, I ordered a rib-eye steak - an off-menu offering). Cocktails are also a bit spendy but, to be fair, were very well done. Shout out to Bert for putting up with us out-of-towners!

The restaurant is really cool and has great food, but I have given service 4 stars since it took about 2 hours to get our main entree last Friday! The oven went out and place was slammed. Also, we ordered steaks as a special. They were great; however, my 5oz filet was $40 and my husband’s 15 oz ribeye was an eye popping $75! I think the waiter should have warned us as it wasn’t written on the menu. Just sayin’.

Simple Joe Cafe is the perfect place to kickstart your day with a delightful cup of coffee and scrumptious breakfast options. From classic tall pancake stacks to Southern grits, there's something for everyone, including healthy choices for gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan diets. The casual and welcoming atmosphere, adorned with local art, adds to the charm of this Baton Rouge gem.
Simple Joe is an old school diner feel. This environment is a Baton Rouge staple. Everything was flawless in our experience other than ordering - the individual taking our order looked absolutely thrilled to be working. We enjoyed the ambience, the chefs were absolutely classic and super friendly. Definitely either get a pancake or French toast to go with your breakfast. I ordered the Salmon omelette with bacon and toast. The pancakes were the hit, so fluffy and did not weigh on your stomach. Hashbrowns were old school southern and traditional along with the sausage biscuits and gravy. Give it a shot for a classic Americana breakfast in a delightful hole in the wall. 🥓 🥞

They don’t take 100 if you use in cash and it’s very busy around 12 o’clock Saturday Sunday because that’s when normally everybody comes out to eat. The pancake soaks in the syrup, making it more like a bread cake everything is cooked. Very fresh made to order. Bacon was good. They also sell art by local artists updating it every couple months or so, depending on when the art comes in. They also have three different kinds of coffee such as Creole and decaf and Simatra. They also have iced tea, sweet tea, and water if you want it. food overall 4.5/5 service overall 4.9/5 Atmosphere 4.8/5 overall 4.8/5 they even have seating outside if you can’t sit inside. They even have cool designs designs on the table like Star Wars, cars, monster trucks, New York, and LSU.

This place is very popular with the locals which is exactly what you want in a good breakfast place. Its counter serve and there is a healthy line. It seemed like tables cleared as new people checked out though so there was a place to sit if you wanted it. I had the biscuits and gravy which were fantastic. I also got a croissant breakfast sandwich. I ended up saving that and reheating the next morning. It was very good too!

When we left The Queen, it’s was 7:30AM. We were both hungry for breakfast, but not interested in Waffle House, so I did a quik search of the area and opted for the Simple Joe Cafe. They have a self-serving counter, where you stand in line, give your order, pay, get a number for your table, fix your drink, and find a place to sit. They weren’t extremely busy so we got a table with no problem. I loved the energy in this place. It felt very friendly and had a close-nit neighborhood vibe. I can tell they have a lot of regulars. The only things I can really complain about are 1. It was pricier than what I expected, but everything is nowadays. 2. The young gentleman who rang us up seemed a little rude and I really didn’t care for his attitude. He didn’t say anything wrong, he just didn’t make us feel welcomed. He definitely didn’t match the vibe in this place because he wasn’t friendly at all. Compared to the rest of the experience, he stuck out like a sore thumb. As for the food, I got the two egg scrambled breakfast with grits, bacon, and French toast. The eggs and grits were amazing but I didn’t care for the French toast at all!! This is the first time I’ve had grits at a restaurant that makes them the same as I do, using milk and real butter. They were cooked to perfection…they were soooo good! We both agreed to stop here again the next time we’re in the area. Though I’d usually give 3 stars, especially bc of the unwelcoming attitude I received, everything else made up for that so I added an extra one.

i been coming here for years, and lately, the place is becoming disappointing. the food is very bland nowadays, and the customer service is not great. no longer feels like a welcoming atmosphere. fast fwd to today, i got my usual (shrimp and grits) to go. i almost finish my food and i find plastic wrap in my food. i thought it was a bell pepper or onion, but nope. a long strip of plastic. i’m disgusted. i feel sick, and now my stomach hurts. probably won’t come back. they refunded me, but this just made me feel sick.

Ate dinner here late on a Friday evening. The restaurant wasn't too busy but there was a decent crowd. I got the soup and salad. The shrimp and corn soup was excellent. They have a pretty lengthy beer menu. You are sure to find something you like. Have been coming here for many years and we'll continue to do so.

Located just steps from the LSU campus, The Chimes is one of Baton Rouge’s most beloved local institutions—a place where the warmth of Southern hospitality meets the energy of a college-town bar. The atmosphere is relaxed yet lively, with a long polished bar lined with dozens of beer taps and shelves of whiskey, a few televisions tuned to sports, and the friendly bustle of students and locals alike. It’s the kind of place that feels welcoming at any hour, whether for brunch, a casual dinner, or a late-night drink after a game. The food at The Chimes reflects Louisiana’s comfort-driven culinary spirit. The plate pictured, crawfish omelet with creamy grits and a warm biscuit, captures exactly what the restaurant does best: hearty, unfussy dishes made with care and a touch of local flavor. The portions are generous, the presentation simple but appealing, and the flavors unmistakably Southern. Combined with the friendly service and rustic wooden surroundings, it’s easy to see why this spot has earned such loyal regulars over the years. Highly recommended!

We had an incredible dining experience at The Chimes that deserves more than just five stars! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and filled with that Southern charm Baton Rouge is known for. What truly elevated our night, though, was our server, **Ezra**. He was *over the top excellent*—attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely friendly. His recommendations were spot-on, and he made sure our table never went without. As for the food—absolutely amazing. Every dish we tried was full of bold, authentic flavors and cooked to perfection. From the seafood to the signature dishes, everything was fresh and beautifully presented. Whether you're a local or just passing through, The Chimes is a must-visit. Great vibes, outstanding food, and service that goes above and beyond. Ask for Ezra—you won't be disappointed!

Coffee Call is a beloved coffeehouse located in a bustling shopping center near -10. For over 30 years, it has been a go-to spot for locals and visitors alike. The cafe roasts its own beans, ensuring rich and strong coffee with chicory notes. Their signature cafe au lait pairs perfectly with freshly made beignets or beignet fingers that are fried to order, hot, and chewy.
On a road trip with my family and just passing through Louisiana but i desperately wanted to try a bienget. This shop isn't far off the I10. They were busy and making them fresh! They have plenty of seating and a shaker of powder sugar on eat table! They were delicious. Piping hot and covered in powdered sugar. My grandmother used to bring me here as a kid and I always loved it. I returned with my wife and daughter for a little dose of nostalgia. Definitely not disappointed. Same charm and quality from when I was a kid. Definitely my go to stop in Baton Rouge for beignet's and ice coffee.

Such a delightful café with French-style pastries called beignets — they’re absolutely heavenly! You can easily spend the whole day here; it’s a perfect spot for freelancers, collaborations, or just relaxing with a cup of coffee. The vibe is cozy and inspiring, and the beignets are out of this world. Plus, it’s open until 10 p.m. — such a lovely place to spend an evening here in Louisiana ✨

Coffee Call was so good, I found myself back the very next morning! What started as a quick stop for a classic beignet and café au lait turned into a full-on food experience. During my first visit, I ended up trying the turkey po’ boy and a comforting bowl of chicken noodle soup—and I’m so glad I did. A kind server walked me through the steps of building my perfect po’ boy, which made the experience feel extra personalized. After that, I joined the line to place an order for the beignets, and let me tell you—they were pillowy, warm, and just the right amount of sweet. They were so good, I came back the next morning to grab another batch to take home! The overall vibe at Coffee Call is relaxed and inviting. The pace is calm, and every staff member I interacted with was friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, don’t hesitate to give this place a try. It’s a Baton Rouge staple for a reason!

Like the beignet here. But some recently visiting made me disappointed. I bought a chilli soup and I just want a bowl to heat it up. The cashier lady Linsey (I dont know name spell correct or not) tell me to wait for her to finish customer line (long line) behind me, then she will get me a bowl. This is not the first time she did it to me. Why she couldn't grab a bowl for me immeadiatly? Is is because I'm an Asian? Complained to supervisor and have the answer that they are busing so that they cant get a bowl. I have to ask another girl to get me that bowl. No respect, no come back

This is one of my favorite places in the world. When last I lived in Baton Rouge, Coffee Call was in the same shopping center where the Wal Mart is now. Obviously not that large, but it was larger. This site retains the style and charm of the older shop. Fresh coffee, beignets, hot chocolate, beignets -- the menu is longer than that, but without the tortuous specificity of that place with the evil mermaid. You go here for a good cup of coffee and a conversation with friends, or to read a good book, or work a crossword puzzle in the paper. There is no place like it in the world and I feel happier just knowing it exists. You should spend some time there, really. You'll be happier if you do.

I finally got a chance to eat here and i enjoyed it. The waiter and staff were kind and courteous. The food was seasoned just right, we ordered the blue cheese bib & steak and the brisket burger. Although I enjoyed my salad, I have been craving that brisket burger it was so good I almost tip the cook. The atmosphere was amazing, relaxing, clean environment, they greet you when you enter, say bye when you leave, everyone was smiling and no long faces. Had lunch here with family. Food was great! I had the wild boar chile rellano. The staff was so excited about their perfectly cooked egg on top. It was fun. Had the bacon old fashioned - which to be honest - is pretty gimmicky - and I don't care because I got a piece of bacon. The drink was fine otherwise. We had some house chips on the table with some sort of dip that was great too (sorry dont remember the details). Would love to come back another time.

Ever since I helped manage Frankie’s Dawg House, before Stuart sold it, I used to go into Magpie daily for the cold brew. I haven’t been to this place for 8 years. They always have the most attentive and interested workers. The best baked goods. Magpie is amazing still, after all of these years! The tomato + herb goat cheese frittata was amazing. As well as the blueberry almond stitch!!

This was mine and my fiance's first time here. We have been to just about every local coffee shop in Baton Rouge and this one is easily one of the best in town!! Ellen and Karli were so pleasant to talk to, very helpful with suggestions, and definitely were a big part of why our first time here was so amazing! I can't speak on the food, but the food all looked like it was amazing and the dietary options were extremely inclusive! Will definitely be coming back!

I couldn’t really taste the vanilla in my latte, it was really bitter. But, great service and atmosphere. I will be back and try something different from the menu. Hopefully it will be better than what I had today.

A friend and I enjoyed a drip coffee and a latte. She got a vegan breakfast sandwich and loved it! We will be back. Plenty of places for LSU students to study. Indoor and some outdoor seating.

I love this place! They have amazing coffee and delicious homemade pop tarts. Fabulous baristas who know exactly what they’re doing. The new renovation is lovely too. Magpie is my happy place.

Stopped here on the way out of town and OMG the vegan breakfast sandwich is the best. I’ve ever had even my dad, who usually hates anything vegan said it was super tasty. I also got the superfood latte which was 10/10. It was a bit busy when I went (around 10 am on a Saturday so to be expected), if I could go again I would go earlier in the morning to avoid the crowds. Wish I lived in Baton Rouge, I’d be here every weekend!

Waffle House is a popular American diner chain known for its all-day breakfast and signature waffles. With over 2,000 locations in 25 states, this Georgia-based restaurant is a Southern staple. The menu offers a variety of options, including classic, pecan, chocolate chip, and peanut butter chip waffles. Waffle House's unique language for customizing orders adds to its charm.
Hands down the best waffle house I've eaten at. The place was clean and organized, and the staff was awesome! After sitting down and ordering our food, one of the staff put music on the jukebox on the wall. It was so much fun eating while the staff was singing along. They had a great energy, which made our experience even better. The food was excellent! One of the better breakfasts I've ever had (including other restaurants and my own). I highly recommend if you are in the area of this specific waffle house... that you stop in for a fun atmosphere, awesome staff and great food!

Swung by for dinner after a day out with friends and even though we arrived in groups, our servers were kind and waited for us to get ourselves situated. We got our food fairly quickly and it was perfect

I’m not from this area but if you know this man on the grill tell him he’s a great cook. His food was amazing and the lady that took our order had a great personality and was polite! Great job guys

I love Waffle House, and this location is done really well. The food was just what you'd expect—delicious and cooked right in front of you. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Quick service, clean environment, and that classic Waffle House charm. Definitely one of the better locations I’ve visited. Would happily stop here again anytime!

Nice concept for the chain. Not very clean looking once inside. Watch out they automatically put cheese in grits! I didn’t approve that! Service was great. A good cleaning and a smell check place would be top notch.
Corey T — Google review
This place has horrible service. Place was packed and the server said it would be a while. Sat at table for 30 minutes, bused the table for them, and she couldn't even take our drink order. Someone needs some training in their customer service skills. Got up and went across the street to the Melty and got immediate service. Definitely don't go to the this place if there is more than one car in the parking lot. What a freaking joke this place was, I thought California was bad but this place takes first place.

Cool little place. Tried for the first time today and loved it. The queso appetizer was definitely a hit. The meal portions were appropriate and served pippin hot. Service was splendid and very attentive. We felt the prices were fair. Parking is a little dicey. Highly recommend giving this place a try! We’ll be back.

The place was clean and in order. Although we got there not long after a power outage, we were the only ones in the building. The entire time we were there, we ate alone. Very strange. The food was great! I had red beans and rice with the roasted corn and jalapeños. My wife had the bbq burger with a salad and our baby had spaghetti and mac n cheese. The quality was very good and the portions were large. Our server was very friendly. The staff wasn't busy so they played with our son who engaged them in return. I would return and recommend it to anyone.

We loved the place unfortunately they have removed the items we loved such as shrimp poboy, smothered chicken, fried green tomatoes, white beans and more its a totally different menu. We ordered items from new menu but they lack flavor nobody finished their food the onion rings look crispy but were soft. The green beans taste freshout the can i love the energy our waitress was great but food 2/10

Laid back vibe. Friendly customer service. Food did not take long. Chilled at the bar. I ordered shrimp/grits and hash puppies. It was great. My son ordered the breakfast bowl with a side of pancakes. He said everything was good and fresh. Will definitely visit again.
Arica R — Google review
Cute place, but the wait and super slow service is a problem. They need either more staff or faster cooks no coffee refills or even spoons to stir. It seems rudderless with no one checking progress or telling patrons what is the delay. Staff is not truly engaging with patrons they avoid eye contact at all costs. Much improvement is needed to take this cute place to next level.

Tried this precious little gem while staycationing in BR for brunch. We saw the photos of the previous reviews but specifically the affordable prices brought us in. The food was fabulous and service was on point. If i could give one request it would be to bring back the chicken and waffles.

Formerly known as Kolache Kitchen, THE DOUGH HOUSE offers a budget-friendly breakfast menu with all items priced under $5. Whether you're craving savory or sweet, they have options to satisfy your preferences. The soft and flavorful bread of their kolaches sets the stage for the delicious fillings, such as chorizo tacos that surpass even 'authentic' ones from SoCal. Their homemade hot sauce adds the perfect balance of flavor and heat to any dish.
First time visiting this restaurant. Met Ryan, very humble and has a servant mentality to ensure that his customers are well taken care. I ask to make my order a certain way and he accommodated with no hesitation. Food is made from scratch and fresh. Everyone communicated like a team and I felt like I was in a family and very welcoming environment. Highly recommended The Dough House .

Casual restaurant with delicious breakfast tacos and the best cinnamon roll in Baton Rouge! I also sampled a bacon kolache and a sausage kolache … delish! Atmosphere is only 4 instead of a 5 because I reserve 5 for higher end rather than casual dining.

Ok, wow. Hidden gem. I ordered on doordash only craving breakfast at work using the explorer dashpass. Saw the lunch tacos and thought it looked like a perfect on the go lunch. I got a kolache because of the reviews here, I got bacon instead of sausage that I ordered even though the bag said sausage. but I am amazed. It was early, and I didn’t try the tacos until dinner, and they tasted freshly made still. The steak tacos really are THAT good! I used to pass by this place everyday and thought it was a run of the mill kolache place. I was wrong! Everything is so good! Even the chocolate milk I childlishly enjoy. Definitely will be my new spot.

La Madeleine is a charming French café chain that transports you straight to the rustic countryside of France with its delightful offerings. Perfect for a light brunch, this cozy spot features an array of freshly baked goods like croissants, tarts, and muffins alongside specialty coffees that are both satisfying and refreshing. Whether you're indulging in their signature Strawberry Napoleon or savoring a warm all-butter croissant paired with a café latte, every bite feels like a mini getaway.
Great atmosphere in great food always put some of the friendliest staff. You almost always on a free pastry with your order. A highly recommend the strawberry Romanoff add mushroom soup, and you can get these and 1/3 salad or soup in the salad sampler!

They have a nice variety or options, which makes it great for a small group. The service was slow and the staff seemed confused as to what needed to be prepared and what was already prepared, which made the wait time long. The food was average. The potatoes in my vegetable soup walked a fine line between raw and al dente. The restaurant was extremely tidy and clean, as usually. The pastry case was emaculate.
S.Nicole B — Google review
Update- On my recent visit, the staff was welcoming and very friendly. Service was great and the dining room looked fresh and clean. Long time favorite… good traditional French breakfast, onion soup and coffee. Cafe could use an upgrade and some updating. Service is average, but do enjoy the food.

Horrible wish I had read the reviews before ordering made a substitution on my order at the cost of $31.00. Substitute not something we eat and the pastry was not fresh citron tart and chocolate tarts which is chocolate pudding crust was hard and stale. Ordered large fruit tart. Called left on hold for 21 minutes just gave up On waiting for supervisor. Recommend you should not make choices for customers refund or contact. In these economic times no one has money to spend on unwanted items or food they are paying for. Never again , reviews were read after and seems it is common and recent post not favorable. I am so upset because the dessert was an anticipated choice. Do better with customers preference and their hard earned money. Ordered fruit tart DO NOT make choices with out customer approval.

I had originally visited sometime in April. I'd been driving by around lunchtime and noticed it seemed kinda cozy, as well I had gone to one in my youth due to a French class. From there, I turned into the parking lot of the strip mall. (Plenty of parking, and there's also takeout.) I was curious as to whether or not they had any savory crêpes, so I looked up the menu online and found one under Chicken la Madeleine and went inside. It's very comfortable, to the point I wanted to just relax and read by the fireplace they had (didn't emit heat, so not sure if that feature works). They even had assortments of desserts! (From what I saw, they even do catering.) It seemed a bit slow, and everyone was pretty nice. I ordered my crêpe with a side of mashed potatoes. It was pretty good. The potatoes were a tad sweet, interestingly enough. It was nice enough to visit again with a friend last month. (We sat outside.) Had the mushroom soup (creamy, though it seemed to taste like it had the same base as the potato soup my friend ordered), half a quiche, and some salad for a pretty good price. Recommend it!

I had a door dash order and one of the items they no longer sold so they called me and ask if I wanted something different I told them yes . They literally gave me extra and apologize for the inconvenience and even wrote a little not on the box . I’m pregnant and this literally made my night , love the pastries and desserts from this store so so fresh and perfectly made

The cozy atmosphere and helpful staff make it a welcoming spot for both locals and visitors. Guests can also enjoy the moody patio with blue lighting and fire displays in the evening.
Absolutely loved this place. A friend and I went to grab a bite and decided to try this place. When I tell you it did not disappoint, it definitely did not disappoint. Everything we tried was great. We had the lamb lollipops, chargrilled oysters, and the chicken wings for appetizers. Note the oysters were not the best I ever had, but they had good flavor. Not lamb lollipops were flavorful and delicious along with the chicken wings. The seafood pasta was good but wasn’t creamy enough for me. Flavor was good though and my friend loved it. Drink were good as well!
Ashley P — Google review
The atmosphere is nice. Sometimes, the chatter in the bar area can get kind of loud and chatty, but we sat at one of the back tables, which decreased it some. For the appetizer, we had the lamb lollipops, which were delicious. Entrees were the burger Marriott and the seared scallops. The burger was tasty, and the fries were good. The scallops could've had a touch longer for searing. The risotto was delicious. A great dish in all. The pecan pie was exactly like I like it - more filling than pecans on top. The pecans tasted like they had been roasted, but some had more of a charred taste. All in all, a great dining experience. Would return.

I had an amazing experience at Tallulah Crafted Food and Wine Bar on Monday while staying at the hotel. I sat at the bar, and the bartender was fantastic — friendly, attentive, and skilled. The drink they made was absolutely delicious, and the extra touch of offering me a bottle of water to take back to my room after I paid the check was greatly appreciated. The food was outstanding as well — the Red Fish was perfectly cooked and full of flavor, and the Hummus was some of the best I’ve had. Hands down one of the best hotel restaurants I’ve visited so far. Highly recommend! EDT: Came back Today for Lamb Lollipops and they were delicious. Different bartenders, but equally amazing service. + awesome Live music most days. Thank You!
Kamil — Google review
The waiter was attentive, the atmosphere was amazing and not too loud. The food was a 5/10. I had the Lollipop Lamb Chops and they were TOUGH. They did not give me a steak knife but they gave me a butter knife which was hard given the lamb chops being really tough. The mash potatoes had great flavoring, I just wish they were creamier. My friend also had the “small plate” wings and they had a bunch of brown sugar on them, they were a bit too sweet.
Aliyah D — Google review
I've heard great things about this place from friends and was really looking forward to sampling their dishes. Decided to go for restaurant week and was really disappointed in the options on the RW menu. I'm going to give them a second chance to impress as the menu was not based on regular items. I will update my review once I've been back. Fingers crossed.
Barry E — Google review
Just wow! Excellent service, excellent food, beautifully decorated restaurant! I ordered the lemon chop lollipops with chargrilled oysters and truffle chips as an appetizer and the knife and fork grilled cheese for my main entree. It was Excellent! I also ordered the shrimp and corn soup and it wasn't that great, but everything else was top knotch! The start of the show was definitely the Lamb chop lollipops! For drinks I ordered the French 225 and peach bourbon smash, both were good. The prices were very reasonable for the quality of food. I'll definitely be returning! Worth every penny!
Claudia L — Google review
The lamb chops are no longer on the appetizer menu and the chargrilled oysters were overly spiced and cheesed. The soda came from the bar and had a blended flavor from multiple flavor brands coming from the same spigot? I don’t know. I’ll get a red wine next time to fix that.

Such a cute little beignet cafe in a quiet plaza. The frozen café au lait is perfectly sweet and a great companion to the hot and fresh beignets. This store is run by friendly and hardworking staff - they're open 364 days a year (only taking Christmas off), so you can get your fried dough and coffee fix almost any day of the year. The tables are nice and clean even though they serve fried dough covered in powdered sugar. There's local art for sale on the walls and a cute little piano in the corner. A wonderful place to sit, have a coffee, and eat some beignets while you contemplate life. For local artists, you can put your art for sale here!

Amazing service, quite & laid back. The food is delicious. I ordered the avocado cheeseburger is just about devoured the entire thing if it wasn't for the crispy sweet potato fries that filled me up! Food is just okay. I’ve tried a few things on the menu but only come for the sweet potato pancakes. Service isn’t that good. I’ve eaten here quite a few times and the friendliness of the lady at the counter always falls short for me. Although I literally witness her give the biggest smiles and hellos to OTHER patrons. Update Tried their lunch food and was very disappointed. Fried fish was fishy, smh.I just gave it to my dog.The fried shrimp was good.Fries were soggy and not packaged properly(they put the fried fish and shrimp on top of the fries). The tortilla soup was an assault on my taste buds.Very putrid and overwhelming. It looked like thick slop.Nothing soupy about it at all.Burger is a nice size ,but the jalapeño bun was falling apart. It’s definitely a place that deserves more than casual attire 😅. But even so, I felt comfortable and really enjoyed the atmosphere. It’s the kind of spot that feels upscale without being stuffy. Highly recommend for a special occasion or a treat yourself kind of night. I’ll definitely be back!

Five Stars All the Way for Zea Rotisserie & Bar! Review: We recently celebrated my cousin’s birthday at Zea Rotisserie & Bar on Corporate Boulevard (Baton Rouge), expecting around 19 guests—but life surprises you, and more friends showed up! Honestly, I was prepared for chaos, but the management was exemplary. They didn’t rush us or make us feel unwelcome—instead, they rolled with it and made accommodations smoothly and graciously. The food was nothing short of spectacular. From the tender, juicy rotisserie chicken and flavorful sides to the perfectly seasoned dishes close to home-style comfort with a touch of sophistication—every bite exceeded expectations. Our servers matched the food’s excellence: attentive, warm, and effortlessly ensuring everything flowed seamlessly throughout the party. If a place deserves five stars, this does. The professionalism, flexibility, and outstanding cuisine made our gathering memorable. We will absolutely be back—and I’ll be recommending Zea for every celebration to come.

Zea Rotisserie & Bar - Baton Rouge, LA Zea’s Rotisserie in Baton Rouge is a dining experience that never disappoints! From the moment you walk through the door, you’re greeted with warm hospitality that sets the tone for your visit. The staff here truly goes above and beyond, making you feel welcome and cared for from start to finish. Every time I sit at the bar, the service is exceptional. The bartenders are attentive, friendly, and quick to take care of any of my needs without missing a beat. Whether it’s a drink recommendation, a quick refill, or ensuring I have everything I need to enjoy my meal, they excel at making you feel like a priority. As for the food, it’s simply phenomenal. The spinach dip is always a must-order—rich, creamy, and paired with chips that are consistently fresh and crisp. The salmon is another standout, cooked to perfection every single time. And the corn grits? Absolutely heavenly—a dish I can’t leave without enjoying. Combine the delicious food with outstanding service, and it’s easy to see why Zea’s is one of my favorite spots in Baton Rouge. If you’re looking for a place that delivers on every front, this is it!

This was our first time visiting this restaurant. We celebrated my wife's birthday and really enjoyed this place. Our waitress Leila was awesome. She was extremely knowledgeable of the menu and gave great recommendations for all 3 courses that did not disappoint. She was very pleasant and her energy was paramount. We tried the duck empanadas that were really flavorful and the Thai ribs are a must try. Overall we had a great experience and will definitely go back!!!

I Ate here for lunch and I ordered the mango chili rotisserie chicken with corn grits and collard greens. The food tasted okay not heavily seasoned. Restaurant is clean and spacious. My waitress was kind and attentive. I only spent $20 for lunch that’s including tip, which is a great price for a nice healthy meal.

The filet was PERFECTION. The crab cake ..all crab ... it was excellent. The shrimp and grits (I was told by my Dad) was the best ever. The Brussels sprouts were amazing. The French onion soup was better than some you find in Paris. The service was top notch, our server, Ava Claire, was attentive without being intrusive. She made the evening even more enjoyable.

Went here for our anniversary. Everything was delicious aside from the steak, which was so so, and lamb was gamey.. I really didn't care for either. French onion was delicious. Lobster was a little rubbery. The desert and champagne were delectable. These guys went above and beyond to make our day special.

Exceptional service and food!! We first arrived at 2pm, not realizing we could only order off the brunch menu, so we made a 3pm reservation and returned. Both times we were greeted immediately and seated without issue. Emma was our waitress/server and did a phenomenal job!! She gave recommendations of the crab cake and ribeye, both of which we ordered. The food was nothing short of amazing!! I don't mind paying for quality food and service, and Stab's offered both! The portions were definitely large enough to share and we still had leftovers to bring home. If we're ever back in the area, we'll definitely be back. That's for making our first time memorable Ms. Emma!!! ~ The Dark's

I recently celebrated 2 birthdays at Stab's. This was my 1st visit to Stab's, and it was a great dining experience. We received excellent service for our party of 10. The food was superb! I've eaten at several other top rated steakhouses, and this one is now at the top of my list. I loved the variety of the menu and the extensive wine list. I'll definitely have to go back again because I look for consistency in service and food. But for now, they are number one. They entire party of 10 agreed!

Zeeland Street is a beloved local institution in the heart of Mid City, Baton Rouge. This bustling hotspot offers classic breakfast fare and daily soul food plate lunches. Established in 1989 by Stephanie Phares, it's known for its scratch-made Southern dishes like pot roast, smoked brisket, and Southern vegetable plates. The Zeeland Slam is a popular breakfast choice featuring cheddar cheese grits, buttermilk pancakes, bacon, and eggs cooked to perfection.
The food was delicious. The service was good. The story of the 30+ year old restaurant was captivating! What I noticed about my order, an omelette with hash browns and toast, is that it wasn't greasy or overcooked. It was perfect in the amount, the flavor, and the preparation. Even though some of the LSU football team ordered meals before us, we still got our food in a timely manner. I'll eat here again next time I'm in BR.

Zeeland street market is excellent. A definite staple in the garden district. They do a ton of business at lunch and never disappoint. The Pecan smoke brisket is tender and juicy, the yams are sweet and delicious, and the cabbage tastes like grandma's kitchen. Can't say I've ever had anything I was disappointed with. Do yourself a favor and stop in.

Why have I not been to this place before??? This is a MUST stop for everyone even remotely close to the area. The food was absolutely PHENOMENAL!!! The cornbread dressing just may have been the BEST i have ever had…and I have had A LOT!!! The brisket melted in your mouth… It is a rare find…

This was my first time at Zeeland Street restaurant. Saw the write up in the 225 magazine and had to check it out. For now they are only open for breakfast and lunch, their evening seatings under the name 'Beloved' are on hold. I stopped by for lunch and ordered the white beans over rice with a side order of potato salad and cornbread dressing. Everything was delicious. They also had on their daily specials a pot roast that I saw someone in nearby table enjoying thoroughly, plan on going back to try that sometime soon. The cornbread dressing had a little spicy bite to it, but still mild. The potato salad was definitely homemade tasting and creamy...yum. The white beans themselves were not heavily seasoned, but they had a wonderful flavor and were very creamy. The cornbread muffin was a nice little addition.
Brenda K — Google review
I liked the restaurant atmosphere with big windows and natural light, lots of space and bright colors. A good number of menu choices. My to go lunch selections were generous in size but all seemed watered down in taste and texture (and only 1 shrimp & 1 crab piece in my gumbo). I wish I had added some seasoning salt and hot sauce. I think the cornbread and red beans with sausage were the best among the items that I tried. The greens weren't good.

I recently had breakfast at a wonderful place in Zeeland that I can highly recommend to everyone. The classic American breakfast dishes were delicious and the staff really went above and beyond to accommodate my dietary needs as a Muslim. They made sure that there was no cross-contamination with non-halal items, which was very reassuring. The breakfast menu had a great variety of options, from pancakes and eggs to bacon and sausage. I tried the spinach omelette and it was perfectly cooked and seasoned. My family had the pancakes, and they were fluffy and filling. What impressed me the most was the level of care that the staff showed towards their customers. They took the time to explain the dietary options and made sure that we felt comfortable with our choices. Overall, I would highly recommend this breakfast place to anyone looking for delicious food and excellent service. The fact that they go out of their way to accommodate Muslim dietary needs is a testament to their dedication to customer satisfaction. Thank you for a wonderful breakfast experience!

Food was delicious and staff was nice. The grits were amazing. The ONLY issue was they were short-staffed so service was kinda slow and almost felt forgotten. Would still recommend them because everyone has a bad day.

The food was great! Just a simple homemade breakfast with a great variety of items on the menu. I got the BEST sandwich (bacon, egg, sprouts, tomato), cheddar grits, and hashbrowns. I gave the service 4 stars only because it was minimal, but that was perfect for an early morning and a quiet atmosphere.

The Vintage Baton Rouge is a popular spot that has gained attention due to its history with Cafe du Monde and Morning Call. After a fierce bidding war, Cafe du Monde secured the building lease, leaving Morning Call searching for a new location. Despite this, other bright spots like Vintage on Magazine Street and the New Orleans Coffee & Beignet Company continue to thrive. The Vintage remains an intriguing destination in Baton Rouge, offering a unique experience for visitors.
Cute little coffee shop downtown. Wife wanted the best biegnets in the state, so we were told to go here. Fresh, warm right out the oven with lots of powdered sugar yummieness. The atmosphere was quiet and modern with several different types of people there. Some on laptops working, others reading books. Everything was good about this place. Definitely recommend

We stopped by looking for coffee and ended up finding so much more: delicious food, amazing service, and lots of love for our dog. We ordered the brown sugar cinnamon latte and the avocado toast (both 10/10!). BJ even surprised our pup with a pup cup, which she rated 100/100 since everyone made her feel so loved and comfortable. Thank you for making our morning such a special one!

First of all, I ordered a croissant that was dry and hard and clearly has just been sitting out in open container as I saw the employee pull it out from there, secondly, since our order was to go order, it wasn’t until I got in the car and pulled off that I noticed that they gave us empty hard beignets!!!! Which doesn’t make sense since I waited in the restaurant for 20 minutes to get my order and everything was horrible. See pictures attached. This was my first time in Baton Rouge and at this restaurant never again

Everything bagel with lemon cream cheese was good. Breakfast burrito was decent , grits were kinda plain . I asked for cheese and hot Sauce to help.

This place used to have an awesome Ham/Turkey wrap for $9 bucks, that had a solid pound of meat in it. Made to order! But now the menu has changed. All of the cold sandwich are grab-and-go (who knows when they were made) and the hot sandwiches aren't worth the price. Paid $15 bucks for 2 slices of pastrami and a bag of chips. Completely dead inside during a lunch hour work day, which means the locals don't even eat there. Kinda sad... this place used to be great.
John S — Google review
Convenient for a stay at the Watermark, but overpriced (a Kind bar is $5) and not great. I was born and raised in NY, so I was excited to see Matzo Ball Soup on the menu, and a “family recipe”, as well. I don’t know what abomination this soup would be called, but it sure isn’t Matzo Ball Soup…

Milford's on third is filled with the two most lively and lovely ladies, Jacqueline & Inez. I pray they will enjoy many more years at this Hotel because they're so sweet to children and family. For breakfast, my girlfriend and I ate the "Turkey Scrambler." The biscuit was so soft, so flakey, it melted in your mouth. Great temperature and the quality didn't look rushed. The biscuit ended up falling apart because of how fresh it was, that didn't stop us from using our forks though. Thank you Inez! Jacqueline, thank you for being kind to the kids who were screaming and giving us the ins and outs of our stay. You're an awesome photographer! Thank You Ladies!

Say hello to Bonjour, a charming little cafe that offers some of the most decadent and creative desserts around. The ambiance is cozy with French music playing in the background, and there's even outdoor seating available. The menu may be small, but the pricing is excellent and the craftsmanship is top-notch. From signature ice cream dishes and shakes to housemade crepes and waffles, there are plenty of options to satisfy your sweet tooth.
BEST dessert I’ve had in a while! The Lotus waffle was amazing! The combination of white chocolate, lotus syrup, and maybe Carmel with the lotus (biscoff cookie) crumble and almonds making a nice crunchy texture with the hot waffle and ice cream, I was in heaven!! Ok so as much as I love fruity desserts over all others, hands down the lotus waffle was better than the fruitella crepe. The crepe was good but the lotus waffle was amazing! Cute date spot as well! It was clean. They also serve cafe drinks!

This was such a lovely place. The workers are super nice. The desserts they have are amazinggg. We got the Dubai crape it was so delicious. Haven’t tried the bar yet but I bet it’s just as amazing at the crape they use Belgium chocolate so it’s the best tasting quality wise.

Super cute atmosphere! Would be a great place to have a cup of coffee with friends. I hadn’t realized that they also served coffee drinks & cappuccinos, etc. What keeps bringing me back though are the white chocolate covered strawberries. They make an excellent choice for a coworker’s birthday. Better than a cake and healthier too in my opinion! While waiting for my chocolate covered strawberries to be made, I was suggested to try the strawberry crepe. And oh my word, was I not disappointed! Yum! I literally said “oh my God” out loud. I have never had a crepe before! I have been missing out!

Fluffy waffles dipped in chocolate and covered in sugary goodness, crepes filled with creme, and incredible waffle cones filled with ice cream and too many goodies to count. Forget any other deserts you've had and get to Bonjour right away. Their lovely and knowledgeable staff will be happy to help you and their comfortable café environment will make you never want to leave.

We got the Dubai crepe, bubble waffle, and caramel latte and they were all amazing. You can tell it is freshly made to your order and the staff is very friendly! We will return!

Came in for dessert on a busy night and we were told 15-20min wait. We ordered thinking that wasn't too bad. We didn't get our order until 50mins later. Our order wasn't bad but was way more syrups, spreads, and toppings than crepe.
Daniel M — Google review
Can’t say enough about that Dubai chocolate crepe!!! Everything freshly made to order takes a bit of time but it’s very much worth the wait. We also had a brownie covered waffle stick. Definitely recommend trying this place out.

I’m giving Bonjour 5 stars because I want to support local businesses and I really appreciate the kind customer service. The café has a cozy vibe and the staff was welcoming. I tried the Kunafa Au Ganache — it looked beautiful, but the cake itself was just okay and a bit too sweet for my taste. Also, I was surprised to see $2.49 charged for a very small cup of water; for that price, I would have expected at least a bottled water. Overall, I admire what they’re building here and hope the business continues to thrive in Baton Rouge.

Tsunami Sushi in Baton Rouge is a Japanese sushi specialist located on a rooftop terrace above the Shaw Center of the Arts, providing stunning views of the Mississippi River and downtown Baton Rouge. The restaurant offers a sleek and contemporary setting to enjoy inventive sushi rolls, Asian cuisine, and delectable steaks. Guests can also indulge in cocktails at the welcoming rooftop bar area while taking in the picturesque scenery.
Tsunami Sushi in Baton Rouge is nothing short of amazing! From the moment I stepped onto the rooftop lounge, I was blown away by the breathtaking atmosphere. The stunning city views, relaxed yet upscale vibe, and perfect ambiance made for an unforgettable dining experience. The rooftop deck is perfect for a special evening date, especially while watching the sunset. The combination of the golden sky, city lights, and incredible food creates a magical setting you won’t forget. As incredible as the setting was, the food and service were even better! The sushi was fresh, expertly prepared, and bursting with flavor. Every dish was beautifully presented and tasted just as good as it looked. The service was top-tier—attentive, friendly, and made me feel right at home. Whether you’re looking for a romantic night out, a special celebration, or just a fantastic meal with an unbeatable view, Tsunami Sushi is the place to be. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in Baton Rouge!

We came here just by chance as our hotel was nearby. Well, the food and service was so good that we ended up coming back. And then back again for a third time! If you’re in Baton Rouge, make sure you swing by here! The views over the river are stunning too.

My daughter is a new sushi lover so I took her on a Tuesday around 3pm. We were seated at a small table for 2 with a beautiful river view. We started with the Shishito and Shrimp. This was pretty good but I needed a better dipping sauce. It was happy hour so certain rolls were discounted. I was disappointed to learn that they didn’t have or were out of the fried rice. We decided to go with the Big Easy rolls and the Shrimp Tempura rolls. They took a little while to come but we enjoyed the view while waiting. My daughter was disappointed that the Big Easy were only 4 rolls. Nevertheless, they were good. I also enjoyed the Shrimp Tempura rolls. Our server was friendly. Overall, we enjoyed our visit and will probably return in the night time for the wonderful views. There is also rooftop outdoor seating. I’d definitely come back for that in cooler weather.

Restaurant is on the top floor of the Shaw Center for Arts. Beautiful views of the Mississippi River and environs and great place to see the sunset. It also means, however, that 1) the restaurant is hard to find if you don't know it's there (didn't see any signs on the ground floor and had to ask the security guard), 2) too much sun and heat to sit outside by the railing to enjoy the view, at least when we were there in July. Staff was accommodating and attentive. We didn't have a reservation and one of their servers agreed to take care of us for dinner at the bar. We were kind of in a back corner but they sat us. Recommend reservations if you want to go there. Food was OK. Interesting combos and flavors. Good portion size. Vegan options. They were out of a couple items we wanted to order.

My boyfriend and I went Tsunami for our anniversary. Our server, Ethan was fantastic! He check on us throughout our dining experience. When there was a delay for the apple martini, he was very polite and apologize. I appreciate his excellent service. We came during Happy Hour, but it took a while to get our sushi. We were patient though. In the photos are Raging Cajun, Dynamite Roll, Lava Roll, Shrimp tempura, Sweet Heat Philly, Big tuna, and Gyoza Umami. For dessert was the Ube cheesecake and the ice cream mochi. My favorite sushi is probably the Lava Roll. I love the flavors- crunchy shrimp, the salmon, the sauces. Very good! The Ube Cheesecake is an interesting dessert. I can taste the sweet potato, but I felt that it was missing something. There's no graham cracker crust. I think it would've elevated the dessert more with a crust. The ice cream mochi taste amazing! I would love to eat more of it. Overall, Tsunami has been a pleasant food experience.

A smashing A+, and always is, from the service to the sushi to the sake. Everything about our dinner was magical. First of all it was a first date, second of all it had just rained and stopped. I go usually right before sunset to enjoy the rooftop delight while waiting for my order, and take pictures. The service was excellent, could not complain at all. We ordered two rolls at a time and went from traditional rolls to specialty rolls had appetizers and everything about the reservation we had was amazing. We got there earlier than our reservation and they accommodated. Amazing, just amazing.

This was a great place to eat. You place your order. You get your drinks, then you find a table. They bring the food out to you. It is a nice comfortable atmosphere. The food was amazing. My friend had red beans and rice that came with sausage and bread. She loved it. I head the shrimp etouffee over fried catfish. I had a side salad and bread. The bread was the bomb. It was brushed with butter, and it looks like it was placed on the grill. It had that crunch but was also soft. Soo good! The staff was great and extremely friendly!

Highly Recommend this restaurant. Take a step back in time when you walk in. Order at the counter and they bring it to you. Pay as you leave. We had adults and kids in our group. There is something for everyone. Chicken tenders with fries for the kids. Large variety of sandwiches were offered and ordered for the adults. Fresh sweet tea daily. I had an Arnold Palmer with fresh sweet tea and lemonade. The Fresh seafood Gumbo was amazing. They offered homemade red velvet cake. Everything was good!

My mom and I went to Lloyd’s Poor Boys for the first and last time. When we walked in, we were asked what we wanted before even getting a chance to look at the menu. We asked for a moment, and the man gave us a yellow menu. My mom ordered a Coke for me and a sweet tea for herself. He asked if we were dining in or taking out—we said dine-in. He said breakfast had just ended, and they’d call us when lunch started. We sat and were told to pay after eating. He eventually took our order. I got fried pickles. My mom asked about the seafood platter—he said oysters were no longer included. She asked about the oyster poboy, and he explained it was market price. When she asked if it could be cut in half, he asked where she was from because “they do that around there.” She said she didn’t know, just asking. Food didn’t take long. I ate half my pickles, she ate half her poboy. I saw keychains, asked for two. Then I grabbed 7 candy bars, 8 gold coin candies, and 8 Sugar Daddy candies. At the register, I wasn’t told the total. I handed over a card with $81. He said I still owed $10 more. My mom paid the rest. I sat down and said, “There’s no way this was $91.” We did the math—he overcharged. I politely asked for a receipt. He said I should’ve asked earlier—even though I had JUST checked out. I told him I’m Black, not stupid, and I can count. He told me I was making it about race. I asked a nearby lady if I was wrong—she said no. I asked for a refund for everything but the food if I couldn’t get a receipt. He gave me one, but it wasn’t mine—it was time-stamped an hour earlier and had 3 plates we didn’t order. He admitted entering candy as a “lunch plate” because I got 7 bars ($14). He said if I make him count, he’ll charge me more. I told him that receipt wasn’t mine and pointed out the incorrect time and items. He agreed to re-ring everything: • 2 fountain drinks @ $1.99 (but he originally charged $3.38 each) • 7 candy bars @ $2 = $14 • 8 candies @ $0.25 = $2 • 8 candies @ $0.50 = $4 • 2 keychains @ $7.99 = $15.98 • Fried pickles @ $7 (but he charged $9) • Oyster poboy @ $17.38 (market price) Total before tax: $67.12. He said tax was 10%, so added $7—bringing it to $74.12. But I was charged $91, meaning he still overcharged me. I told him he owed me $16.88. He threw $5 on the counter. I said no, that’s not right. He eventually gave me $11 more. Even then, it was wrong—because he’d already included tax in half the items, and the 10% he used was still off. What it should’ve been: • Drinks, candy, keychains, pickles: $46.96 • 10% tax = $4.69 • Subtotal = $51.65 • Add oyster poboy @ $17.38 • Total max = $69.03 We were charged $91—with attitude, zero transparency, and resistance to even providing a receipt. The man was rude, dismissive, and confrontational. I can’t support a place that treats people this way. And the food? Not even that good. If you go here, do the math before handing over your card. You might get hustled if you don’t. He still owes me at LEAST $5.97 I will say that the young man who works there was nice & helpful, when asking him to hand me the keychains. But the other guy, HORRIBLE business owner!!

Consistently good food. Super friendly staff and convenient to the downtown area. My favorites include their Red Beans with Pork Steak, Shrip Etoufee pictured below, and Lemon Ice Box Pie. Only issue is, they're a little expensive, in my opinion.

IHOP, a beloved chain known for its extensive selection of pancakes and classic American breakfast dishes, is a go-to spot for many. With some locations open 24/7 while others have varied hours, it’s always worth checking when you can indulge in their delicious offerings. If you join IHOP's rewards program, you'll be treated to a complimentary stack of pancakes after your first purchase and again on your birthday—what a sweet deal!

Food was quick, it was a good deal for 6 dollars as they are doing the house favs Monday-Friday 7AM-10PM. It was also very clean and my server was very helpful. If you want something quick, and a good price and experience this I HOP is for you!

Before heading out on the road again, my husband and I hosted a Men’s UNITY Breakfast at the IHOP on College Drive. We spoke with the owner in advance, and he was very accommodating about holding our meeting there. On the morning of the event, our waitress Amanda greeted us warmly and provided excellent service. She was attentive to every attendee, keeping coffee and drinks filled and taking orders with care. The meals arrived hot and fresh. My husband and I ordered the breakfast burritos, which were light, flavorful, and wrapped perfectly. All of our attendees were pleased with their meals. Thank you to the IHOP team for helping make our September event a success!

I was going to fuss at first for not getting my utensils or amenities, but when I taste the grits and those pancakes. I was so satisfied. All that I can say was the food was awesome. Must have a new cook. I truly enjoyed my meal today...

First time actually eating here. They were closed for months. They're just now back to being open 24 hours, like an IHOP should be. My only previous experience here was being asked to leave their parking lot after waiting too long for a passenger to show up. I guess they had nothing better to do at the time than ask people to get off their metaphorical lawn. That didn't exactly make a great impression on me, but nonetheless, I don't hold grudges for too long. I decided to give them a shot at actually serving me tonight. Other than the amount of time it took to make the food (about 25 minutes) they actually did a pretty good job. Only 2 minutes to be seated, 2 minutes to put a drink in front of me, and the food eventually came out good. And they were actually polite (rare these days).

Best damn IHOP location I’ve been to. Food was on point and our waiter was the bees-knees. The music was nice and wasn’t too loud that I couldn’t hear myself think. I really enjoyed my time there eating breakfast. If you live in the area or just passing thru, give this place a shot. I had the Split Decision breakfast 🤌🤤

Highland Coffees is a delightful coffee shop that exudes charm and a relaxed atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for coffee lovers. Nestled near the North Gates of Louisiana State University, this cozy locale features an inviting shaded patio perfect for enjoying your favorite brew while catching up with friends or diving into online classes. The on-site roasted coffee is complemented by a tempting selection of baked goods, including their renowned banana bread that outshines any TikTok recipe you might have tried during quarantine.
I love this place. So cozy 😊 Toasted everything bagel: heaven. Hot chocolate: no good. No flavor, it's surprising.. Other stuff: guess it depends! The blondie was also good/super rich

Local coffee shop right next to LSU. It is big and spacious with lots of small tables. I like the inside decor. Some people bring their dogs in and around the shop! There's only street parking by the shop. I got a large french vanilla latte and it was good with a caffeine booster! The girl working the register was super kind and helpful!
Maggie H — Google review
Today was my first time here. I dropped off my sister in New Orleans and on the way back I needed a calm spot to finish up homework and grab a drink, which led me to here. I got a matcha latte with cold foam, and it was very strong and ended up tasting great with the added mexican vanilla and sugar at the front. The place was stunning and filled with plenty of students and plenty of tables for them to study at. However, later in the evening a friend also visiting Baton Rouge had dropped off food leftovers for me to eat later. Not knowing the policy of outside food and drink, an older man I assume was a manager or owner gave me a short lecture on hurting their business by not buying anything and bringing outside food in (my matcha was long gone so he had no clue I was a customer) and how people like me often come in for the space and not for the business. It was a very valid and understanding perspective as a store owner wanting people to pay for their services, but the way I was spoken to for the others studying around me to hear left me very anxious and uncomfortable so I had to leave. Overall, amazing pastry and drink options and very comfy-cozy space, definitely come here for a relazing study or chat with a friend. However, as a student, idk WHO has hurt this business or cause the projection that I witnessed but just know if you don't have a product of theirs on the table I guess someone will lecture you for it. I was excited to come here the next time I need to take a trip out of Lafayette, but for this being my first time I wouldn't say I feel very welcomed to come back.

I decided to get a frozen mocha blended drink from Highland Coffees and met the owner Clark and his 2 employees. They all treated me really nice and I greatly appreciated that. So if you're ever in the Baton Rouge Louisiana area, you need to check them out.

The vibes in highland are relaxed and social. The outdoor decor is especially pleasant. Their 'coffee of the day' makes repeat visits worth it. The drip coffee here is pretty great, with unmatched variety. The espresso is also quite enjoyable. The medium roast option is the most fragrant and balanced, in my opinion. Their granita latte is also tasty, and very popular among students. Teas are rarely served with a lot of care, and the leaves are quite old. Again, the variey of selection is the main draw. The staff are friendly and quite helpful! Coffee prices here are pretty competitive. Highland sources mid- to high-grade beans and prepares them with decent attention to detail. The price really reflects the product you're getting. Bring a water bottle if you'll be thirsty!!!! They unfortuntely do charge you for a cup of water. If you love black coffee, you'll enjoy a visit to highland.

The atmosphere here was very warm and cozy.. They offered for a sample before I made my choice. I ordered the mango sorbet. It was a nice and sweet frozen treat with a very satisfying texture to it. Very fruity. 😋🤤

The friendly staff were very helpful in my decision of what drink (hibiscus/lemonade) to have with my delicious Piazza Panini, which I easily indulged in the Roasted Pistachio Gelato afterwards. My fur baby was very delighted in the “Dog Gelato” they offer (I took a bitty taste, kinda light peanut buttery taste) Took home some divine loose tea also!!

It’s so refreshing to find an authentic Italian place in Baton Rouge! The atmosphere is cozy and the employees are kind, welcoming, and hard-working. The food was absolutely delicious! We got veggie pizza, lasagna, and the French onion soup. Their coffee was better than any place I’ve ever had. We can’t wait to come back to try their breakfast and gelato, they have so many flavors to try! Definitely come here to support a local business <3

Cute little cafe in a strip mall of other stores, the gelato was a little icy but the coffee was really good, I got the gingerbread latte. They also have pop up bakery’s that come periodically, I would be interested in that for sure ! There is food here as well.

Small Italian Cafe. Gelato, coffees, sandwiches and Italian dishes. I enjoyed a Mango sorbet as others in the party chose the dairy gelato. Every dish was empty. The food dishes smelled wonderful as they brought them to other customers. I spied on a flatbread and it looked kickin. I will have to come with my family to try the flatbread. I wished they had cannolli but do have a cannolli flavored cannolli . One person in the party commented that the hot sandwiches are good.

I get La Divina often for lunch and all has been amazing. This visit was beyond. Disappointing. The pizza was served on sliced bread instead of pizza crust and was beyond soggy. We also got spaghetti and meatballs and the meat balls were so dry and crumbly and the sauce had nothing but a can taste. If I didn’t have them before and know the potential I would never return. Not to mention I bought a soda and it was expired in the beginning of February.

This is my the first time to be here, Barton Rouge, Louisiana. Then you shall ask me, "have you experienced with any local Louisiana cuisine"?. I shall present very strong Yes, because of here. In the middle of Barton Rouge has huge Mississippi River. So it is famouse with all the fish- based dishes. But, there is another root, "French style". The [King Bar & Bistro] is exactly the place. Located at the basement floor of the "Indigo Hotel", it gave us very pleasent, cool, fresh air. All the staff were gentile and being friendly. And the Chef... He knew what we precisely starved for, even we didn't know. Steak, Ratattoi, Pasta, each of plate was epic, gorgeous, even became sexy. We were kind of bored with all fried fish, shrips, and potato chips. And the steak was like an angel of the pallet. We were fully loved and enjoyed all flaboured harmony. It is became 3 months to be renovated, and they served the most beautiful cheescake. And with the Lemon-cocktail. The perfect combination. You don't need to worry or think too much. Just ask it to the Chef.

Young lady bartender and server was perfect! Very friendly and one of the best young servers I’ve encountered. The food and drinks deserve a one star rating. Dirty martini not worth the $16.00 price, and the manager that made it was not a very nice person. The food, was bland and absolutely the worst Escargot and Salmon I’ve ever ordered. No seasoning and presentation very sloppy! I recommend the bartender, but not the food!

I had a late check-in at the hotel, and the front desk told that the restaurant had food until 10 PM. But when I showed up at the restaurant at 9 o'clock, they acted surprised and weren't sure if they could make me anything. The bartender did not want to interrupt the chef i guess, he was sitting out in the front bar area and chatting it up with the customers. So I guess he didnt feel like cooking.

All good things come to an end eventually, I guess. I looked forward to my breakfast croissants from here until they restructured the menu & started charging separately for protein on the breakfast items. On top of that, the croissant sandwich looks much smaller now than it used to. And they burned my sandwich today. Looking for a new breakfast & coffee spot now 🙃

One of the best coffee experiences in BRLA. The coffee is always delicious and well made! Great selection of both hot and cold drinks, including teas. The sandwiches are delicious and filling. Excellent gluten free and vegetarian options. The seating is easy to access and usually there is an open table. You can eat outside too. The parking can be challenging because the lot is small. I always bring my put of town guests here for a remarkably cup of coffee

The coffee is really bad. I had the brewed coffee twice and the americano once and both were watery and had a gross twang to it. I wouldn't criticize normally, but it's a coffee shop and I would prefer it and expect it to have good coffee. Secondly, there is no prices. That drives me nuts. I would like to know how much everything costs before I order.

I had their iced mocha and my husband had dirty chai - spicy both are right on spot. Loved them. Coming to the cakeballs (cakepops), there are so many flavors. We got a dozen of them with 6 different flavors and all of them were such a hit with my girls. They were asking when can we go back. So need to plan to go back... this place is worth it.

I’m so glad I found this little hidden gem. The owner and staff are fantastic and the food was superb. Portions are great, prices are great. The employees made me want to come back over and over! Definitely give them a try if you haven’t.

Just wanted to check out a new spot to get breakfast. Thanks to google, I found this little gem. It's nestled in a business area, assuming to cater to the goers and comers of the surrounding offices. It's a little weird that there's a food pickup window but no door to the kitchen. The employees have to go outside to go to the kitchen on the other side, but if that works for them, cool. This is also weird because it's a tad bit confusing which door is the entrance to the restaurant. Anyhow, everything else was pretty much what was expected. Average prices, check. Great atmosphere, check. Above average customer service, check. Variety menu, check. As for the food, I wasn't disappointed and thought the proportions were good, but not a fan of the pan sausage. And, while waiting, I did think it took a while, so relax when you come here, there's plenty of games to pass the time.

The food is okay. When I flipped my French toast over it was black on the other side. It didn’t taste burnt per say but it was definitely overcooked. The sausage was also basically what you could get at McDonalds. I won’t be back.

I love this little cafeteria, but food is not my favorite. The only thing that I confident about always taste amazing is cobb salad. I want to like thier food, but it's just not great. Combination of flavors just not the best in some meals. Anything to do with latino added food is horrible. Presentation is always amazing but taste is not.

Awesome place!! Hard to spot, but definitely a treasure! Just beware the alligator. Atmosphere was very inviting and had a great vibe. (Currently Mardi gras themed decor) Got to meet the owner who gave us great service, the caramel macchiato cold foam she recommended was definitely the right choice. Had the bayou burrito, couldn't finish it, it was so big, so delicious though. The jalapeno really brought it together for me. We also had a loaded English muffin, also scrumptious. Fluffy cheesy eggs, yum!! To top it off, shared a white chocolate mocha iced coffee with the caramel macchiato cold foam. Sadly, it was to good to be sharing, one was not gonna be enough it was so good I had to ask for another. The cold foam could have been served by itself it was so good. So many things that would be great on. (The mini pies, for one) Prices were lower than expected for premium food. Definitely my place to go for breakfast when in the area from now on. Chrys, it was a pleasure, we will be seeing you again! Burrito was around 8 Coffee around 6$ for a large Muffin was 5ish.

I’m not sure what to say at this point. I have eaten from here before and don’t remember the food being like this. The first picture is the Voodoo Chicken and as you can see the chicken is smaller than the sides for about 12$. The other picture is one of grilled chicken that is extremely hard. Not even chicken jerky for 12$ The last picture is of the red beans and rice. My coworker found a hair in her dish and immediately stopped eating it. She attempted to call the restaurant and got no answer on the first try and then got the voicemail on the second try. This will be the last time I will eat from Rouge Rabbit.

When walking in the restaurant there is chairs thrown all over the floor is really wet and it isn’t raining and never the less they have kids in the kitchen playing in the fries. There is no proper glove usage man this brand is very very bad eat anywhere else that you can.

Egg dry the little that I had, sausage was over cooked and no bacon or tots. Feel I should have been informed what items that the store didn't have, not just take my order and money for what items they have in their store. Was not at all the meat burrito I'm use to getting.

Placed a mobile order for 2 combo meals. They took 25 minutes to get through people in line. They did not get a single thing correct in the order except for the drinks (it was just 2 combo meals, nothing fancy). They opened the window and it was like a wall of weed smoke wafting out. And we literally watched them step on a roach and then carry on and laugh about it as we waited for our order.

One of the worst Jack in the Box experiences ever. Ordered mozzarella sticks...they were out. Ordered a supreme croissant...they had no croissants. Ended up ordering a breakfast jack and an order of tacos w an orange juice and a coffee. All were bad...very bad. The breakfast jack was served w no ham...how? The tacos were cold and had no "center" in them ...how? Coffee was cold. The pre packaged orange juice was fine. Anything that an employee had to prepare was wrong and (frankly) gross. I'll never return. Be warned...this one is bad...

My order was missing a talso missing the bacon on my bacon ultimate cheeseburger. I tried calling 3 × 2 let them know. The phone will ring and then they hang it right back up. It's time I call. I do not understand why you cannot answer the phone. But it will be a while before I order again.

Rêve Coffee Lab is a specialty coffee shop that aims to create a space where people can share their stories. They roast their own coffee in-house, and you can enjoy it hot in-store or by purchasing whole coffee beans. Rêve Coffee Lab also offers flavored lattes for everyone, regardless of what kind of coffee they prefer.
Good espresso drinks and snacks. I had a very nicely balanced Colombian cappuccino. Very nice vibe at this place, and polite baristas. Filter coffee is OK, but I am rating in a strict way - I’m comparing with the best roasters in the world. For most people coffee will be great. It’s worth it coming here for a good cup of coffee with a croissant/sandwich, and a very nice vibe. Situated near a very calm and neat residential neighborhood. Perkins Row plaza is nearby.

I've heard good things about this place. Their menu has a good variety of coffee options and specialties neatly laid on a clipboard. I wound up getting a cantina blue (espresso, milk, blueberry layer, and butter pea flower), which tasted pretty good to be honest. The bottom layer had a good blueberry taste to it. There isn't that much seating inside because it's a small interior and lots of students studying. At the back side of the coffee bar, there is some bar seating. With the circular seating at the tree, there is a row of outlets and some by the walls. However, if it's sunny and nice (not raining), I recommend sitting outside for a chat.

Stopped in for a quick stop and got a Nola. I didn’t know they have an extensive menu I just ordered whatever is on the wall. Drink was great, not sweet not bitter it’s perfect for a hot day. The amount of ice and the size of the ice is perfect. The interior has a nice vibe and im suprised to find this place in BR. Bonus time they have a wall water filter machine to fill up your bottles with!

This café has a lot of charm and potential, it’s in a great area and has a cozy, local feel. The matcha lattes are delicious and very affordable, and I love that they serve them in real glass cups when you’re not taking it to go such a nice touch! The free filtered water station is another thoughtful bonus. The only downside is that the place could use a bit more regular cleaning. The barista and self-service stations were messy, the floors and walls looked like they haven’t had a good scrub in a while, and the restroom wasn’t very clean either. It’s a great little spot that just needs some extra upkeep to match the quality of the drinks and atmosphere. With a bit more attention to cleanliness, it could easily be a favorite in the neighborhood.

From the moment I walked in, Re’ve Coffee Lab delivered on every front. The Golden Days was pure bliss—bright, comforting, and layered with flavor. I savored every sip and already knew I’d be back. The next day, I tried the Snomelt, and it was just as delightful—rich and indulgent with a playful twist. And can we talk about those egg pockets? So yummy. The perfect savory companion to the drinks, with a freshness that made me feel like the whole menu had been crafted with love. Re’ve isn’t just a coffee shop—it’s an experience.

If i had to pick my favorite coffee shop in Baton Rouge, i would be spending a long time debating between here (Reve) and Lighthouse Coffee. Amazing pastries. Baked fresh all the time. Amazing coffee. Strong wifi. Friendly service. The one and only downside is, it’s too popular and crowded. It’s hard to find a seat. I would appreciate bigger and non shakey desks but it’s not a problem. A strong wifi makes it up.
Mizzu C — Google review
It took 25 minutes to get two take out coffees.. no pastries left at 10:50 but would not allow us to order lunch ( that started at 11). We got back in line and ordered one turkey sandwich and did not receive it until 11:45 (in the meantime my other daughter and I went across the street, ordered two delicious bagels sandwiches and ate them). We found the staff rude, slow and sarcastic. We will definitely skip this place next time.. there are too many other great places with friendly service.
Christine — Google review
The aesthetic of this place is cute and cozy. It was quiet despite it being packed, so it seems like a nice place for people to get work done/to read peacefully. This place has dog bowls outside, so it does seem pet friendly. I recommend that you sit in the patio area since it is properly shaded and contributes to the cozy/peaceful feeling. The baked goods were okay and the coffee was also just okay. I don't think I will order their simple drip coffee again because it did not go down smooth. Even so, I will come back to try their other drinks since maybe they'll be more plesant.

Southern Cofé, located near Southern University in Scotlandville, is a coffee shop and cafe that offers a variety of nutritious snacks, dinners, and inventive drinks. While their flagship location is currently undergoing renovation, they have another location at Main Street Market which serves coffee drinks like iced lattes and caramel macchiatos along with a light fare menu including fresh fruit acai bowls, smoothies, and paninis. The space also features a working podcast recording room.
I loved my experience at The Southern Grind Cofe. The decor is so fresh, inviting, powerful, artsy, and beautiful. I had a caramel macchiato, and later, a chicken salad sandwich. They were both delicious. The atmosphere was very friendly. Everyone that walked in the door smiled and spoke. It was as if we were all family. I will definitely visit in the future.

Crispy Donuts is a reliable and popular breakfast restaurant with locations on both Florida and Bluebonnet Boulevards in Austin. They serve up classic donuts as well as boudin kolaches - a unique combination of sausage, Kolache dough, and blueberry filling - which are highly recommended. Their donuts are also delicious, making it a great choice for an afternoon caffeine boost.
This donut shop has absolutely some of the best donuts in town. The service was great! It's a hidden gem near LSU/McKinley Elementary, Middle, and High. By the way they ARE open on Monday

Still on a journey to find a temporary replacement for my beloved Krispy Kreme... This doughnut was definitely Crispy on the outside & Fluffy on the inside. The glaze was delicious but I wish there was more. The price is nice .89 each or 8.99 a dozen! ****The only con is the minimum card transaction is $3.00 Bottom Line: if you’re near LSU give these donuts a try!
Gennie W — Google review
In my opinion the best glazed donut in Baton Rouge. Texture is perfect, right amount of chewiness, airy but not to dense. Good tasting glaze and taste remains the same whether served hot or after they've sat a while. The other things I've tried were very good as well. Not in the best part of town, but worth the trip. Staff is super friendly and always professional. Give them a try you won't be disappointed.

The donuts are delicious! The apple fritters are one of the best I've had in town. If you don't get there early enough, they're sold out. Also their their cinnamon rolls are super delicious and like soft but also crispy. I don't know how they do it but it adds an extra yumminess to it.
Payden M — Google review
This place is great! The shop owner is so nice and the donuts are delicious. Breakfast sandwiches and great too.
Alexis S — Google review
This reviews definitely overrate this place in my opinion. It's a pretty decent and typical donut shop. There regular glazed donut tastes nothing like Krispy Kreme if you're looking for a dupe. However, it is light/airy and overall pretty good. The kolaches are somewhat overrated as well. Asked for a jalapeno and cheese one and the one I received looked like it had no cheese in it and the jalapenos did nothing for the taste. The breading was fluffy however. The worker there was pleasant. The variety of donuts and food is subpar. Overall, it's a standard experience for a local donut shop.

This has always been my favorite restaurant to get some good breakfast. Everything has always been good. Except Tuesday, I went in and ordered To go. I was excited to enjoy a good meal till I found a hair on my food. I brushed it off, put it to the side and cut the part where i had found the hair. continued eating, but right when i was about to take another bite. I see another hair sticking out , i tried to get it out but it was stuck to my egg. I was very disappointed and disgusted.

Known for its comforting American fare, Cracker Barrel serves up mouthwatering classics like cornbread and their famous Double Fudge Coca Cola cake.
My mom wanted pancakes after her surgery, so we took her over there. I didn't know her car, and left something on that killed the battery. Service in the restaurant was great, food was amazing, and on our way out we realized that the car was dead. One of the managers saw me raising the hood and came out to help, and gave us a jump! Such nice people, and though I didn't catch the fellas name; we really appreciated his help! Show these guys some love and go enjoy the delicious food, they deserve our business!

We found that this Cracker Barrel Old Country Store was a really good spot to eat. The atmosphere in the restaurant is warm, comfortable and inviting. It's been over a year since I have visited one of these. 😲 Something about it gives you that familiar feeling 😍 And it's still a reasonable price considering everywhere else is price gouging since covid 🤑 This particular location has been recently renovated and all of the old timey antiques that used to hang from the ceiling in the store are now gone...🫤 There is still plenty of old-timey things on the shelves and walls to look at but no more cluttered ceiling 🫣 And it goes without saying you will always find something in the store that you didn't know you wanted 😉 I have a puppy 🐕 It's perfect for a solo nomad traveler. 🤭 Oh yeah, and endless beverage including a roadie cup🥤

We had the pleasure of being served by Anthony Jackson at Cracker Barrel in Baton Rouge, and I have to say, he made my visit unforgettable. From the moment he greeted our table, captivating , professional, and genuinely attentive. He anticipated our needs before we even had to ask, made excellent recommendations, and carried himself with such kindness and charm that it truly elevated the entire dining experience. Anthony went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect, checking in at just the right times without ever being intrusive. His friendly personality and attention to detail showed that he really cares about his guests, not just their meal, but their overall experience. If you're dining at Cracker Barrel in Baton Rouge, I can't recommend Anthony enough-he's the kind of server who turns a good meal into a great memory.

This very clean Cracker Barrel had fabulous pancakes. I had the peach and whipped cream topping. Our server Chris did a great job of making it pretty. He also kept our coffee cups full. We asked for crispy hashbrowns, and that is the way they were cooked. The store gift shop was very well stocked. Easy on and off of I-12 with a large parking lot. We had a restful night despite the traffic noise. Love Cracker Barrel on our trip west. DO NOT LIKE THAT THE LOGO WAS CHANGED, put UNCLE HERSCHEL BACK

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 I had such a great experience at Cracker Barrel! Our server, Anthony, was absolutely amazing – friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed the entire meal. He checked in often without being overbearing and really made us feel welcome. I also want to recognize Mike Green, the manager, who stopped by our table to make sure everything was perfect. UPDATE!!! I decided to give this location another chance and I’m so happy I did. This morning everyone was pleasant - coffee was perfect!! I’m going to say the other day was an exception and not the norm!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ __________________________________________________ Parking is the worse. First order in the morning cannot be picked up until 7:15 AM. I love other PJ’s locations, but this one had the most bitter tasting coffee. I love expresso - but this was super bitter. I wasted $8+. I couldn’t drink half of it.
Wendy P — Google review
PJ’s in downtown Baton Rouge was a sad and bad experience. At the door, I knew we should have turned around but didn’t because we set out looking specifically for a PJ’s. The shop was in disarray with chairs strewn about, unwiped counters and tables, finger-printed glass doors, and with scant offerings in the pastry case and slim coffee options. They didn’t even have New Orleans signature coffee with chicory. Worst of all, they used flimsy coffee cup tops which came flying off and spilled steaming coffee on us and everywhere. Not even a “too bad, so sad” from the server. All he said was that’s been happening all the time since corporate sent these new cheaper lids. Not to mention the prices were outrageous. Never again. Next time I’ll believe the reviews which already had given only 3.5 stars for this location, and that, like my two stars, was generous. You’ve been warned, choose someplace else — anyplace else.

IHOP is a well-established chain known for its diverse selection of pancakes and classic American breakfast and diner dishes. It's a go-to spot for early morning cravings as it operates 24 hours. Despite some instances of slow service, the staff are generally polite and accommodating. The menu has been updated to offer a wider range of options, including tasty items like the jalapeno burger and Philly cheesesteak.
We had a great experience. Food was good. The assignment manager was very involved by greeting and sitting customers. Walking around making sure everything was running smoothly. You have to ask for Mrs. Kim, she's so pleasant. She makes you feel like you're at home.
Paula M — Google review
The food wasn't quite what the picture looked like and described, but it was still okay. They got rid of what I used to order, so I had to pick something new. The service was great. The cleanliness, however, was HORRIBLE. The salt shaker was so dirty that the salt would not come out of it and had some brown stuff on the rim. The floor was filthy and needed to be cleaned. The ketchup had some dried up on the bottle. Everything was just nasty... Edit: After my last bad experience where my order wasn't right and wasn't what I wanted, I was contacted by a manager who offered to provide me with the meal I originally wanted for free my next visit. When I went back, the service was MUCH better and the manager was very nice and polite. However, the taste of the food was still poor. I understand it was free, but I feel the kitchen staff may need some better training or something. My boyfriend's food was cold to the point that the cheese was not even melted and my chocolate batter pancakes with chocolate chips hardly had any chocolate chips or chocolate syrup on them and they weren't very sweet. If I would've known they wouldn't have too much flavor I probably would've gone with a different flavor instead. I've had those before and I do not remember them tasting the way they did this time. It was somewhat disappointing. Edit #2: I went back since I had more points to use. I tried to ask the waitress questions and she apparently wasn't understanding, so I kept it simple for her. My boyfriend's food was cold. After I gave the waitress the codes to redeem rewards, she asked to see it on my phone and then ran off to the back WITH my phone. When I saw her I called out that I needed my phone back, so she handed it back to me. There was a ton of confusion just trying to get the bill right. Then as I'm leaving I tried to go to the bathroom and a strong horrible smell hit me when I walked in and the only handicapped stall was a MESS to the point that I just turned around and walked right back out. The waitress was a nice woman, but she needs to find a job that would be a better fit. Being a server is not it. Once again, horrible service and experience. Maybe I will just attempt the other location next time, if at all.

When Me and my Sister in Law arrived we was greeted by the Hostess he was the tall guy super nice great attitude.. He took us to our table the first available .. the waitress we believe her name is Shandel with the black baseball cap and the big bird lashes she was nasty and rude she didn’t want us in her section she was loud and caused a scene.. So the young man moved us to Ty section she was amazing.. Shandel didn’t want us in her section because we was black and don’t tip.. However we is not from here and you can’t judge a book by its cover.. For her information we tip Ty our waitress very Good and we tipped the Hosts. They both was amazing.. Someone needs to talk to Shandel about her customer service.. Cause she don’t know if we was a food critic or what…

Me and my wife came to this IHOP on July 3rd 2025 at 2:45 p.m. There was a white lady there who eventually said she was the manager. We stood there waiting for almost 10 minutes for someone to seat us. Multiple employees walked past us several times joking and laughing talking to the two guests they had in the whole restaurant. Yes there were only two tables occupied in the whole restaurant. Me and my wife kept wondering like dang they see us just standing here and they're constantly just walking by so finally we asked for a manager. The lady tells us "I'm the manager" I was actually shocked because she was the one who walked past us the most. I said "do you want us to leave?" She says they were in the middle of changing shifts. So I asked her "so you didn't think you should say hey we'll be with you in a second or anything?" She apologized but me and my wife decided to go ahead and leave. So here's my thing, and normally I don't say anything like this but I don't understand why you have time to come out doing shift change and constantly keep yapping to the guests that are already seated, we constantly see you yapping and joking and laughing with your employees, but you see us standing there and you never once have us sit down or at least say you're coming. It honestly felt like she wanted us to leave and I'm pretty sure we all know why.

My son and I had some time to waste and he asked for some IHOP. We ordered 2 of the Breakfast Samplers: mine with blueberry pancakes and OJ; his with a strawberry sprite. The server was nice and attentive. Great meal!

The food was sooo fresh. Best IHOP I have been to in baton rouge. The sweetest waitresses. All of them! Especially Ms. Melissa

We enjoyed a delightful experience at IHOP, especially with the kids' meals which were both delicious and affordable. Arabi, our waitress, provided excellent customer service and was very attentive. Although there was a wait for our food, it arrived hot, perfectly cooked, and well worth it. Highly recommend!

I recently had an unpleasant experience at IHOP that left my family feeling ignored and disappointed. When we first arrived, we weren’t even acknowledged for about 15 minutes. The server made a point of taking orders from the tables next to us but completely skipped over ours. When we finally got her attention, another staff member reassured us that someone would be right with us – but, unsurprisingly, it was the same server who had passed us by. Once she finally came to take our drink order, things didn’t improve. After we ordered a drink that wasn’t available, she replaced it without even offering alternatives. We then had to ask for a different substitution, which felt like an inconvenience. When it came time to order food, she rushed through the process and didn’t even ask if we wanted to order something for our child. By then, about 30 minutes had passed, and my son was getting quite impatient. When our food arrived, the experience went from bad to worse. My 2-year-old said “thank you very much” as the server placed the dishes on the table, but she didn’t respond in any way—not even a simple “thank you” or an acknowledgment of his politeness. She just walked away, leaving us feeling like an afterthought. We didn't get the can we offer you anything else. We asked for boxes to take the food to go. The food itself was great, but honestly, we had to take it to go because we felt so unwelcome. By the time we got home, the meal was cold, and the whole experience left a sour taste in our mouths. It’s a shame because a simple acknowledgment and basic customer service could have made this an entirely different visit. I shouldn’t feel ignored and rushed when simply trying to enjoy a meal with my family.

The food was good except I'm allergic to avocado.. I told the waitress when I ordered i was, and it still came out with it. I would've told her, but she walked off so fast. So, hubby scrapped it off, and we just went on with it.

Horrible experience all around. I would give this place negative 100 stars. Don’t waist your time or money in this location. Our coffee and hot chocolate was iced cold. Our food was iced cold. Husband ordered chicken fried steak meal. They forgot to put the gravy on it. Everyone in our party was served, well my food didn’t come out for another 15 mins. I just ordered a waffle with butter. Nothing special. When my food finally arrived well it was cold cold butter was frozen. No syrup was on our tables. Eggs on our orders were wrong. Ordered sunny side up eggs. Instead the gave us scrambled eggs without asking. On top of that. The waiters were talking amongst themselves that the kitchen equipment was broken such as the microwave. I WILL NEVER EVER STEP INTO A IHOP LOCATION IN MY LIFE. I rather eat at McDonald’s. At least at McDonald’s the food will be warm vs iced cold. Honestly I wish i wouldn’t had paid. Wait of time and I waist of money. Total bill was $60 for ICED COLD CARDBOARD TASTING FOOD.

Panera Bread is a popular bakery and cafe chain known for its delicious sandwiches, salads, and bread. Customers appreciate the friendly and helpful staff who go above and beyond to ensure a pleasant dining experience. The menu offers a variety of tasty options, including the highly recommended orange scone and Fuji Apple Chicken salad. Despite some limitations due to the pandemic, such as fewer available items like scones, Panera Bread continues to provide good food and drink choices.
Deja was amazing with top-tier customer service! She gave amazing recommendations and made our visit perfect!

The one chain cafe that doesn't feel like a chain. Their sandwich bread is my absolute favorite... perfect texture, taste and freshness. The hot sandwiches are an incredible value... can definitely split it with another person and have a side of their soup... Makes for an amazing lunch for under $14... which is pretty much the price nowadays for a greasy fast food lunch that doesn't fill you up. Great service and friendly people at this location. Definitely in my top 3 spots to grab lunch in B.R.

Nice to get an $8.00 soup that looks like someone ate some of it. There’s hardly anything in there. Definitely not worth the price or order baguettes that are just thrown in my bag with no covering.
Tamara W — Google review
It's been a while since I ate in the store at this location and I was not impressed at all. The food was good and the dining area seemed nice, but the service and bathrooms were seriously lacking. When we arrived, I took my five year old to the bathroom where my stall had no cover on the toilet paper holder and one large roll was lying on the floor (since there was nothing to hold it on the dispenser). Then when we tried to wash our hands, we found that the soap dispenser wasn't working and you had to dip your hand in the top of it (which my son couldn't even reach) where the lid had been broken off to get soap out. Then we went up front to order. It wasn't immediately apparent that no one was working the front (at 12:20 on a Monday) and we had to order at the kiosk after waiting for someone thinking we would be waited on. The people behind me had the same confusion. After placing my order, the screen said to grab a pager to let me know when my order was ready. There were none. It then said I should go ahead and get my drinks, but there were no cups. I went to the area where food was coming out and asked about it, but they said they couldn't see my order on the screen yet and wouldn't give me any cups until they did. We sat down and waited for our order to come out about 12 minutes after the order was placed (kid's sandwich and a soup in a bread bowl). The food was good and that was the only reason they got two stars instead of one, but that only gets you so far.
Anne D — Google review
I visited today for lunch through the drive-through and ordered a strawberry lemonade, two everything bagels, and smoked salmon cream cheese. The cashier never mentioned it was unavailable and gave me plain cream cheese instead. After pulling over to check my order, I realized nothing was correct. I also received a blueberry lavender lemonade—something I would never have ordered. This is important because some customers have allergies and rely on accurate information about menu items. When I raised my concerns, the manager dismissed them, repeating that “they are human” instead of addressing the issue. If I had been told the smoked salmon cream cheese wasn’t available, I would have chosen something else.
Native C — Google review
Good experience that is as expected. Less bags of items like scones available since pandemic. Good drink options with charged lemonade options, unlimited sips club is something I joined but may or may not continue after 2 first months free.
Brian ( — Google review
Today at lunch, I came in with a group of special needs teens and young adults. The young man who took our orders was so patient, kind and courteous. I wish I had gotten his name; he was a blessing. Everyone enjoyed their food. It was a wonderful lunch out.
Kathryn F — Google review
Despite ordering the same thing every week, the staff constantly messes up my order. And to top it all off, I may have gotten food poisoning during my last visit (the cream cheese for my untoasted bagel -- when I specifically ordered it toasted -- was practically in a liquid form). I think from now on, I will drive a little further and dine at a Panera Bread somewhere else.

Waffle House is a popular American diner chain known for its all-day breakfast and signature waffles. While some customers have had negative experiences at specific locations, others have praised the friendly staff and efficient service. Despite occasional mishaps, many diners appreciate the fast and well-prepared food, as well as the attentive servers who go above and beyond to ensure an enjoyable dining experience.
We have eaten at Waffle House all over this area of the country and have always had a pleasant experience. The staff normally greets everyone with a friendly greeting. The food is very consistent and always good. This store has trouble attracting great staff, like most businesses today, but does a good job. Certainly this is not fine dining but for a quick, consistently good meals I have seen no one that beats them.

Growing up in Southern California, we didn't have waffle house. It is now amongst the best restaurants I've had the pleasure of dining at. I used to think of soul food as cat fish, candied yams and greens. They cook with soul and love here 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The staff are nice, ratchet in the right ways, and real hard working people. I've been to this location before and will come again. I love waffle house and this location is wonderful. I thank my new friends for the delicious meals and good times 💛❤️😇😋 yall are superstars

Walked in a sit down for 15 minutes. No one acknowledged us. They kept looking at us but no one came to us. One group of people left leaving us and one other couple that’s it. Worst Waffle House I have ever been to and will not go back. I wish I could rate this place with at least 1 star but they don’t even deserve that. Sorry crew and atmosphere.

Store was dirty. Food was ok. Service was ok at best. She tried and I'll give her that. We had several items simply not get delivered before we left. My sausage egg and cheese didn't have a egg but the brought me one out later. It was slow and they weren't that busy when we ordered. Overall it wasn't great but it also wasn't the worse experience ever.

Whataburger is a classic fast-food chain that has been serving up delicious, stacked burgers since the 1950s. Customers rave about the quick and friendly service, with some mentioning short wait times even during busy periods. The food is described as fulfilling and delicious, with popular items including the patty melt meal and breakfast bowls with gravy-covered biscuits. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff are known for their helpful recommendations and excellent customer service.

We decided to have a large party to celebrate the launch of the new Nintendo console. We had an absolutely absurd order at 3 am that involved more than 10 burgers, fries, shakes, salads, biscuits and gravy, pancakes and bacon, honey butter biscuits, breakfast burgers, and even a chicken sandwich. This store is more than 17 minutes away and I cannot stress enough how above and beyond the entire staff of this location provided the absolute best fast food delivery experience I've ever seen. They even provided a free, absolutely beautiful and durable canvas reusable bag and the condiments were fresh and separated so it turned out to be more like a delivery diy impromptu burger bar, which when you think about it is a beautiful business model concept. I think it was very unfair to ask so much of the staff so early in the morning but once everything showed up beautifully packaged and the shakes were still thick and cold I had to call them and thank them personally. This is absolutely my favorite burger place from now on. Everything is delicious and absolutely nothing was wrong, I can't think of a single time I've ever used doordash and received not only 100% of my order, but it was completely flawless with so many complicated requests to manage. Thank you Whataburger for going so hard on customer service at such an inconvenient time in the morning, you made this an unforgettable experience for all of us.

Walked right in around 1145am, no wait. Cashier Brandon R was super polite. Got the triple burger with cheese, large fries and drink. Food came out hot and quick, everything was beyond expectations. Every visit to this location has been superb. Keep up the great work!

Took a chance and tried it for the first time. And it's my last. When thru drive-thru for lunch. Ordered a avocado bacon burger, without tomatoes or onions. Waited a good 15+ minutes in the drive-thru line. Got back to the office to learn that they put tomatoes and onions on my burger. Well I only ate fries for lunch today. Those were good.

Was very impressed. Staff is very friendly and polite. The food was great, even after midnight, when we went there. Got our burgers exactly the way we wanted. The fries, enough for 2 in one order and a large drink. The price is very reasonable. Wish they would come closer to us. Would be our new go to. When we go to the south again, we will most definitely stop again..

Chick-fil-A is a beloved fast-food chain that specializes in delicious chicken sandwiches and nuggets, complemented by an array of salads and sides. Originating as the Dwarf Grill in 1946, this Atlanta-based brand has expanded significantly over the years, boasting more than 1,850 locations across 41 states and Washington, D.C. With a commitment to customer satisfaction, Chick-fil-A offers a straightforward menu featuring fan favorites like their signature waffle fries and spicy chicken biscuits.
I arrived at the perfect time, around 4 p.m. on a Thursday. As usual, the restaurant was clean and I was greeted by several employees when I entered. The reason I say the time was perfect was because there were very few customers in the building. I made it just before dinner rush. I found a table entered the table number on my Chick-fil-A app, and soon after my order was brought to me, exactly as I'd entered it. The food was hot and fresh. My strawberry milkshake was divine. I was so hungry I forgot to take pictures, sorry.

I can’t say enough good things about Prince—he’s hands-down the best employee at this location. Every time I visit, whether I’m inside or in the drive-thru, he consistently gives 200%. He makes sure my order is always accurate and delivers top-notch service with a great attitude. His dedication and professionalism truly stand out—no other employee compares. If management sees this, I truly believe it’s time Prince’s hard work is recognized and rewarded. He more than deserves it!

This was not the best meal that I have had at a Chick-fil-A, the food was great but the service was lacking. Also there was a need for better cleanup in the bathrooms and the seating area. I would go there again but I want to see this location up to the usual standards for Chick-fil-A.

Wow Cafe is a must-visit spot with amazing staff and delicious food. The mimosa made by the friendly lady was customizable, and the biscuit with cheese and bacon was exceptional. The chicken fingers were good, but some suggest trying the boneless wings instead. The coffee served here is great, and their Classic Chicken sandwich is said to rival Popeyes. Visitors recommend trying the Fried Chicken Buffalo Sandwich for its perfect seasoning and superb taste.
I had the pleasure of eating at WOW at the airport in baton rouge. The food was really good. Best food I'd had out my whole trip. Thank you guys for ending a great trip with even greater food. Chicken strips were ON POINT!!
Roni P — Google review
This review is for the WOW quick service location. As far as I can tell it is part of the WOW cafe and doesn’t have a separate entity on the map for a review. Unfortunately as far as I can tell you are locked into this restaurant as the only place to eat in BTR. There is a coffee place that I think has pastries next door but it doesn’t seem to be a lunch spot. From the moment I ordered food, it took about 15 minutes to get with them having to ask me again which quesadilla I ordered and then got confused when I said the chicken quesadilla when there is only a veggie and chicken quesadilla on the menu. I also ordered a 32oz fountain drink and was given a 20oz cup. As far as I can tell it’s the only size they have so not sure why there is two options on the menu. They also have bottled soda which isn’t on the menu but is 16.9oz. Something isn’t right here but I didn’t care enough to look into it. As far as the food goes, flavor is good but the execution is awful. I barely got any chicken on my chicken quesadilla. The flavor I did get on the pieces of chicken that were there is good , just needs to be more of it considering the price I paid. The box also had a fair amount of grease on it and in it when they handed it to me, which was sloppy. The salsa that was given with the quesadilla was really good considering. The staff doesn’t seem like it could be more disinterested in talking to anyone. The tone I’ve heard with other customers while I waited was very much an “I don’t want to be here, but I need to be polite” tone.
Adam W — Google review
The wings are incredible, so crispy and moderately meaty! But the buffalo sauce is all soybean oil and smells like chemicals.
Lance K — Google review
Went with the chicken fingers. Probably should have gone boneless wings. They were good and very large. The side of sauce they provided was about half full. Not many restaurant choices in the airport (only 1), so it is what it is.
Brian — Google review
UPDATE 9-2022, I'm going to throw down and say it again: The Fried Chicken Sandwich is better than Popeyes chicken sandwich!! 🎉 The staff here are fun. The coffee is PJ's and it's great. The Classic Chicken sandwich rivals Popeyes!! Pro-tip: be sure to grab mayo for your chicken sandwich.
Simone W — Google review
We were departing BTR today and stopped at the only bar in the airport on this side and maybe that's the reason. The bartender was an absolute ass sorry not sorry. Her attitude was terrible! Acted like she hated her job and anyone that sat at the bar like we were a problem to her. Just a complete drag. When you are the only bar eatery on one side of the airport you probably could potentially make it your thing instead of all guests feeling like they are a burden to you.
