Bar & grill
The Bulldog in Baton Rouge is a top spot for beer enthusiasts, offering an impressive selection of over 200 varieties, with 81 on tap. This pet-friendly establishment welcomes dogs to join in the fun. The menu features a range of delicious bites including loaded fries, nachos, chicken tenders, and various burger options. Additionally, patrons can enjoy special deals such as Happy Hour on weekdays and Pint Night on Wednesdays.
This is a fantastic spot for a late night bite, which was the main purpose for our visit. The order was placed at midnight, and the food that arrived was restaurant quality. The chicken tenders were freshly battered and tossed in buffalo sauce with blue cheese crumbles. Yet, the waffle fries were the star of the show: seasoned to perfection. My boyfriend had the chicken quesadillas, and it was loaded with chicken, cheese, and flavor. This is a bar, so of course we had libations, and I had to nurse my margarita because the bartender was liberal with the tequila. Twisted tea was on tap along with 40+ beers & wines. The food was pricey, but for the quality that time of night, it was worth it. There were several things that were sold out due to the lateness of the evening, like shrimp and ranch. Verdict: This will definitely be a little late night spot for some really good eats & drinks.

In town for work project and tried this spot. Very spacious place with tvs and bar. The Cuban is not a true Cuban but it was good. The burger was good. The Old Fashioned was meh but my husband enjoyed his Jack & 7. I can see this being THE spot for college football watching.
Vershone J — Google review
The bridge crossing from our hotel alone was worth the effort to go here. Many beer options. A little strange for a first timer. They don't really tell you that ordering food at the bar is separate and you have to walk to the wall. Didn't love that. You were left figuring things out on your own. Overall we had a good food there and people were friendly. Typical bar food. Good enough with the beer.
Shawn G — Google review
Great brew selection. Bartender knows her beer but she a bit…salty. Still made a really good Bloody Mary for us even though I get the since she just wants to talk/pour beer. We didn’t eat so can’t speak for that. Pub atmosphere. I imagine it gets a young crowd but we went daytime so it was slow.
Jarrek H — Google review
Super cool pub & cool college town vibes for sure. However, kitchen man was a human storm cloud wasn’t too friendly and also the food wasn’t great. Hot yes, seasoned & fulfilling not at all. Gentleman behind the bar was great and helped us out for sure. In this place’s defense, it is a pub after all so I’m not judging hard on drinks or whatever else. Just came to town to visit w/ our dog and didn’t enjoy it nor felt welcome 🤷🏼‍♂️

It wasn't like it used to be. Six years ago in was FANTASTIC! The Philly Cheese Steak was juicy and wonderful! This time, they don't even have waitresses...you basically wait on yourself and we literally had to call to place our order to go because I stood in line at the cooks order window for at least 10 minutes. The sandwiches were dry, the onion rings weren't cooked long enough. The four Bloody Mary's we had were very good, but the whole trip was not worth the money.
Vickie B — Google review
Really cool place, allows dogs inside which is awesome on hot days. Got the Cuban sandwich, onion rings, and classic burger with a clean burger patty for our fur baby. Food was good not amazing but good and it went well with the beer, had two milk stouts and a brown all from Louisiana breweries. They were each pretty good but preferred the Brown from Low Down Brewery. Sorry for the lack of good discription was in a hurry on a long drive back to Florida. 4 stars for the food being typical bar food but the beer menu is extensive but over run with sours and Ipa's. Really nice out door and "lounge" type area.
The Z — Google review
$30 for wings and a pint. The wings were the smallest I’ve ever seen in my life, and at $20 the most expensive food item on the menu. They must have come from a shipment of chicks from Tractor Supply Company. I could have fit all of them in my side of ranch. Bartender was nice though. The guy making food that you have to interact with was a mute and looked miserable to be there. Luckily there’s lots of great places for wings and a pint!

We moved here from Texas 8 years ago! We had no idea what was all Out here for any kind of country music nightlife! We stumbled on The Texas Club a few years after moving and it def reminds us of home and all the great artist we have seen live! They are always booking talent that are great and even bring back some old school! Love this place!
Christina C — Google review
It was a great place. There was a full house. The only thing I didn’t like was that I paid for certain seats and once we arrived there were no seats available. We had to stand up for the entire comedy show.
Janell M — Google review
Sound was good. Security good inside and outside Al’s very friendly. The place was way overcrowded. They pack people in the place. I’m older and don’t like being squeezed into a space like a sardine in a can. We had a table on the main level. We couldn’t see the stage due to people standing up between the tables. I kept getting bumped into the whole night while sitting at our table. They should have security or do something to keep the crowd from pushing around the tables. If you’re in the table area you should have to sit down or move on. Tables have to be reserved and they’re not cheap. If you go, get a table above the main level along the rail. Women were lined up halfway across the place at one time waiting to use the bathroom. Men’s room no problem. Lol, Good luck

Great venue with great bands and great sound!! Would highly recommend catching a show here. The crowd is diverse and adults of all ages.

Great place but it is not set up for disabled people in wheelchairs!!! And the gentleman state he has been there 20 years and never a complaint. But this was a shocker 🙄 disabled people would love to come and enjoy the music as well.

I went to see a heavy Metal Concert it was the "Bomb". The light show was awesome. First time going to Texas Club, I will be back again. Lots of elbow room also.

I had went to the Texas Club for the first time ever and saw Wayne Toups. It was an awesome show! The sound was great and Mr. Wayne Toups put on an amazing show. The staff were really nice. Especially, Ashley the bartender, she was very polite and helpful and attentive. Also, the security team there was the absolute best I've personally ever seen. They were always attentive and quick to resolve any problems with any rowdy patrons. I never saw any security on their phones they were always watching the crowd which made me feel very safe. Then at closing time the security outside escorted my mom and I to our car even though we parked right up front. Which as women made us feel very safe. So yeah the entire staff is amazing. I can't wait to go back for the Lauren Lee band 💗😁

Cocktail bar
Nestled in the heart of Baton Rouge, Olive or Twist is a vibrant bar and kitchen that perfectly blends handcrafted cocktails with modern Southern cuisine. This trendy spot boasts a chic atmosphere, making it an ideal destination for both casual meet-ups and special celebrations. Guests can indulge in expertly crafted classic cocktails or take a leap into creativity with unique twists on their favorites. The Old Fashioned here is particularly noteworthy, evoking the spirit of Bourbon County bartenders from yesteryear.
Great experience. We had the pillow talk drink and a beer with the Poydras Poutine, the short rib eggrolls, and roasted Brussels and bacon. Everything was fantastic and we will be back again. Great selections for food if you want something to eat with your drink.
Nathan B — Google review
A go to place on a Sunday for brunch or a Monday if you want to participate in 2 for 1 drinks! The Bartenders are mainly the reason this place is so good! S/o Tim
Klutch E — Google review
Great place for a drink. Excellent cocktails and selection. Food is okay but definitely not a highlight. That's why the 3* food rating but the drinks are definitely 5* Came here on a date almost a year ago and again on a date last weekend. Originally came here bc this was in an article for best place to get drinks in BR list. Definitely not disappointed. The drinks and cocktails are great you can tell there's a mixologist that understands ingredients. There's plenty of selection in beers and various types of alcohol in the bottle. The place is slightly on the small side and parking is limited and will most likely require u to park in other areas to come over. However they are open late and make it a cool hole in the wall spot to go to have have some drinks with friends or on a date
Kevin J — Google review
This place has the potential to be 5 stars but the cleanliness of this establishment is not up to par. Let’s start with the pros: Service is good, drinks are good. Food is good. I wanted to order more but after seeing that bathroom we asked for the check and left. Now for the cons: Bathroom is absolutely disgusting. Windows are filthy and neglected. Drinkware is not being cleaned properly. The glass they put my drink in looked like it had only been rinsed.
Billie J — Google review
I have always wanted to eat at Olive or Twist and just got a new promotion on my job. My significant other suggested Outback but I wasn’t too hungry and decided to come here. We walked in and ww were not sure if we needed to wait to be seated or not. We walked to a table and it said to order from the bar. We proceeded to go to the bar where the workers were all dressed in cute overalls that were very unique. The problem was we were never greeted by anyone. We sat and looked at the menu but still no one greeted us. Finally a young lady walked right up next to where we were was greeted and placed an order. My friend hen cared for the waiter nicely so that we can place an order and he stated he was coming and proceeded to help someone else. Needless to say I was crushed. This place was on my places to eat list and it was ruined. We ended up going to Ichiban where the service and food was great and will go to Ruth Chris this weekend where the service and food is always exceptional.
Jeunese H — Google review
I’m visiting from out of town and was told the brunch here was unmatched. William and Austin took care of us at the bar and even made us this cute little lemon head. Also, for my expresso martinis lovers, William POPPED OFF. Look at this presentation! I recommend this place 10/10 and will be back. Also, food was delicious.
Madeleine H — Google review
Absolutely amazing experience. Bartender was very friendly and helpful (wish I got his name). Even though this was my first time coming in, he made it feel as though I was a regular. I arrived for happy hour on a Tuesday afternoon/evening. Wasn’t too packed but mostly everyone sat at the bar. The bartender informed me of the happy hour deals including food, drinks on the menu and on the “Happy Hour,” board. I ordered the French 75, bramble and a black, blue and bacon burger. So delicious! The blue cheese is not like anything I’ve ever had before. It’s thick but not too much and very flavorful. Fries are seasoned very well and the ketchup kind up taste like it’s mixed with hot sauce with a subtle amount of spice.
Alex S — Google review
An experience. The appetizers came out and were fantastic as was the first round of drinks. Things started going downhill after. For a Saturday night at about 8pm they were out of drink ingredients?!? I found that strange but the inability to order due to certain items also being out of stock. The Sam's Club french fries were as expected but the plastic fork just made the experience everything I knew this was going to be. The eclectic collection of barware that trickled to the table is reminiscent of the donated glassware from your grandparents at the Goodwill. The portions are extremely small, the flavor was basic. Cocktails were the best part, but nothing to make a detour to go see.

Cocktail bar
Hayride Scandal is a hidden gem located off Corporate Boulevard, offering an immersive 1920s-style Speakeasy experience. The moody interior exudes Hollywood noir vibes, creating a unique atmosphere for enjoying cocktails and fine spirits. While food may not be available on-site, guests are welcome to bring in outside food to complement the extensive drink menu.
Quiet Speakeasy Vibes 🍸🥃 Spent a weekend in Baton Rouge and decided to check this place out. We did not try or ask for food as we had dinner plans already. But the service was awesome! Sadly our bartender was moving on to another career but I will be back for sure. On the interior, you will find PLENTY of seating with chairs and couches to create little pockets of relax zones. There was even a back parlor for additional seating out of the main space. Dimly lit but not dark really gives that speakeasy vibe 😎 We tried the Champagne Cocktail and a French 75 to start. I have never tried a CC, but it’s essentially bitters, brandy, sugar cube and topped with champagne. Very fresh and I love a bubble 🥂! To close out, we got an Old Fashioned and a Dirty Martini 🍸
Joshua O — Google review
I stopped into Hayride Scandal since it was just a few minutes from my hotel and had good reviews for cocktails. Unfortunately, my experience didn’t match the hype. The bar itself has a cool vibe, but the staff seemed more focused on chatting at the back of the bar than paying attention to guests. I ordered an Old Fashioned and was really disappointed — it was one of the weakest I’ve had. One odd detail: there was literally a pot of chili sitting on the bar with a heating element, and people would just come up and serve themselves bowls. It seemed to be a local favorite, but it definitely caught me off guard, especially in a cocktail-forward bar. Overall, this felt more like a hometown hangout than a true cocktail spot, and the experience left a lot to be desired. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t go back.
Matty D — Google review
Great drinks and a fantastic atmosphere. The bar has a cool, speakeasy vibe and the cocktails are top-notch. Highly recommend! Brian is amazing!
Shaft G — Google review
We were going get a few drinks at this place and take some selfies because they have beautiful decors. We didn’t even sit down for five minutes and one of the bartenders came and rudely told us she’ll let the pictures slide and we have to go order something now. As if we weren’t gonna order once we settle down since it’s our first time checking the place out. So immediately bad vibes and we left. Would not support a business if we couldn’t feel welcomed
Coconut N — Google review
Met a friend there…she insisted I check with his place out because I would love the aesthetic. Let me say, she was right! Stopped in and sat at bar. What a cozy place. Great atmosphere, along with festively done right and tastefully. We chatted at the bar, with a delicious Old Fashion. Had some of the Happy Hour gumbo, which was actually pretty great, too. Loved our bar tender, as well. Not bad for a quick stop for a drink. If I’m ever in town again, this is a definite stop for me
Gabby L — Google review
I went here on a Wednesday night on a date and it was such a cozy and nostalgic experience. The drink selection is amazing as well as the jazz music that carries along in your background. I’m definitely going to be back here sooner than soon.
Linda H — Google review
This place has phenomenal aesthetic and cozy corners! Great place to grab a drink and linger over conversation. The lighting is moody. There’s many seating areas that you can socialize or find an intimate spot. The one downside is that it’s drinks only. Bar bites would be a great addition.
Meagan L — Google review
HS has that speakeasy feel but it's in plain sight. The service and cocktails were spot on and the furnishings were very comfortable. Our group of 4 had no problem getting seats at 7:30 but within the hour the lounge was starting to fill up.

The Chimes is a lively hangout with a worldwide beer selection and hearty bar food. It's known for its energetic atmosphere and diverse menu, offering options like Hallelujah crab, shrimp po-boys, Grits N Grillades, Crawfish Omelet, Eggs Pontchartrain, and Breakfast Burger with cheese grits.
This place is the real deal! If you're in the mood for some great cajun food, stop here. You won't be disappointed! Sit at the bar and ask for Megaan! She gave us the run down and helped us try all the musts!

Ate dinner here late on a Friday evening. The restaurant wasn't too busy but there was a decent crowd. I got the soup and salad. The shrimp and corn soup was excellent. They have a pretty lengthy beer menu. You are sure to find something you like. Have been coming here for many years and we'll continue to do so.
Scott H — Google review
Located just steps from the LSU campus, The Chimes is one of Baton Rouge’s most beloved local institutions—a place where the warmth of Southern hospitality meets the energy of a college-town bar. The atmosphere is relaxed yet lively, with a long polished bar lined with dozens of beer taps and shelves of whiskey, a few televisions tuned to sports, and the friendly bustle of students and locals alike. It’s the kind of place that feels welcoming at any hour, whether for brunch, a casual dinner, or a late-night drink after a game. The food at The Chimes reflects Louisiana’s comfort-driven culinary spirit. The plate pictured, crawfish omelet with creamy grits and a warm biscuit, captures exactly what the restaurant does best: hearty, unfussy dishes made with care and a touch of local flavor. The portions are generous, the presentation simple but appealing, and the flavors unmistakably Southern. Combined with the friendly service and rustic wooden surroundings, it’s easy to see why this spot has earned such loyal regulars over the years. Highly recommended!

Great food and selection Leans toward brewery food with a cajun twist fish gumbo was excellent so we're fried catfish and shrimp shrimp and grits... the star was the sauce and fried grit ball!! located steps from LSU campus This location would be packed crowded during school and football season! Interior nothing special except the cavernous seating!! help servers were top notch!!

Kevin was our waiter on the rooftop deck for dinner. We had a group of 7 from Boston who never ate Louisiana fare before, so Kevin brought us samples and we were able to place a few orders of appetizers and get meals to share and everyone loved it! He made this a great experience for us and we appreciate that. The food was just as good as the service.

The Chimes was one of the places that was recommended to me by locals. The service was great. Oscar made me the perfect long Island tea. He also recommended the shrimp po boy with spicy mayonnaise. It was delicious. I would definitely recommend The Chives to anyone visiting Baton Rouge. Love the atmosphere, too.

Great food and even better service! It was our first time at The Chimes, and our waiter Daniel was incredibly professional, friendly, and helpful. He took the time to explain the menu and gave us excellent recommendations! Everything we ordered was delicious. Highly recommend this spot, and if you get Daniel as your server, you’re in great hands!
Jaime C — Google review
We had an incredible dining experience at The Chimes that deserves more than just five stars! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and filled with that Southern charm Baton Rouge is known for. What truly elevated our night, though, was our server, **Ezra**. He was *over the top excellent*—attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely friendly. His recommendations were spot-on, and he made sure our table never went without. As for the food—absolutely amazing. Every dish we tried was full of bold, authentic flavors and cooked to perfection. From the seafood to the signature dishes, everything was fresh and beautifully presented. Whether you're a local or just passing through, The Chimes is a must-visit. Great vibes, outstanding food, and service that goes above and beyond. Ask for Ezra—you won't be disappointed!

Very cool wine bar & bistro. Fantastic rustic open area with an upstairs lounge area. They have a good extensive selection of wine, cocktails and small bites. The wine varies from very affordable to high-end select with daily specials. We were pleased to see a few of our favorites. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. We shared a wonderful charcuterie board, choosing a variety of items. Fantastic time in downtown BR.

We rented Blend for my daughter's graduation dinner. Everything about the experience was perfect. The food was fresh and delicious. The wine was perfect. The staff was pleasant and professional. Most of all, the atmosphere was top-tier. I would recommend Blend for any private event.

Atmosphere. Atmosphere. Atmosphere! You’ve got to visit this place! Especially during the Holidays. It’s an almost hidden gem. Downtown a couple of blocks from the busy 3rd Street. The drinks are strong and consistently spot B on. Excellent Wine Selection. I cannot rate the daytime menu or entrees be area my band plays private parties here. When mainly snacks and hors d’oeuvres are served. But if the snacks are any indication. The food must be very good. I’ll have the come back during lunch and try it out. It has an upstairs with living room-type furniture for private conversations. The lights are dark and very photogenic. It’s just a very cozy warm place to hang out. I love this place.

Beautiful place for Happy Hour! Tables downstairs plus the bar area. Upstairs has couch areas which are great for visiting comfortably! The service is excellent, and the food is really really delicious considering this is a bar. It's not a place for dinner. A great place for apps and drinks!

My girlfriend and I drove in from Houston for a concert at the River Center and decided light bites and wine would be a good way to spend some time before doors opened. Atmosphere: In an old building that has been perfectly restored while maintaining its aged look. Wasn't too crowded an hour into it opening and was quiet enough to feel intimate and enjoy conversation. Service: Scott, the sommelier was fantastic. He asked about what type of wine we enjoyed and recommended a few bottles or we could leave it up to him to pair us with something. We opted to put our trust in him and we are so glad we did, I told him a budget of about $70 and upon review of the tab our bottle was $75 which is a perfect compromise in going just over the budget. Food: We ordered the lamb meatballs and the caprese flatbread and both were fantastic. Meatballs were so flavorful and perfectly cooked! The flatbread had a nice balsamic drizzle that was not too sweet and complimented the rest of the flatbread nicely. We will absolutely be back if in Baton Rouge again.

Food was delectable! Atmosphere was perfect and intimate, service was fast and kind! Went here with a girlfriend, both of us are from out of town and cancelled our original plans wanting a more casual night. This was the PERFECT CHOICE. The naan is a must try and the hummus was SO rich and lovely. Great flavors for wine pairings. Absolutely recommend! Come here!

Cameron was an excellent waiter. The food portions are on the smaller side but my partner and I are very petite so we did not mind. We had the Crawfish Pimento dip and when I tell you it was off the chain! We also tried the Hummus and enjoyed that as well. I am an avid French 75 drinker and I think the one I had at Blend was the best one I have ever had! Cant wait to visit again ✨

Amazing atmosphere with a great crowd. Bartenders very attentive and can handle any volume of customers it seems. Jacob was my bartender, and there was no drink he could not make.

Hey hey hey, what can I say? This place was most excellent! My friends and I met here for a going away gathering. One of our friends was moving to another state, and we wanted a fun and memorable moment. Well, we definitely got that! The drinks were fun, tasty, and beautiful. We decided to play the games available. We had a spectacular time. The atmosphere is perfect, with wide open spaces. You can choose between hanging inside or outside, both are great. Easy access to the bar and places to sit. There was a vendor outside. My sister and I ordered snow dogs. Delicious! I heard you can choose the jukebox songs online. I didn't experience that, but would next time I visit because I will be back!

Fun, vibrant place to get a drink and hang. I absolutely love their patio and retro vibe. The drinks were balanced and delicious! This review was made in connection with a Toast promotion.

We currently live in New Orleans but wanted to get out of the city for a few hours. After dinner we were looking for somewhere to chill and just chat and found this place. The customer service was awesome, the music was pretty decent, and the patrons were pleasant. There was an outside seating area that was super cute. If I ever go back to BR, I will definitely go here!! I recommend for sure!

The Varsity Theatre, a converted art deco film theater near LSU, hosts live music from touring acts and various events. The venue is known for its nostalgic vibe, featuring 1990s hitmakers and cover revivalists alongside artists reliving their glory days. With differently themed nights and thrilling performances, there's always something new to experience. On LSU game days, patrons can support the team from the bar while enjoying the amazing school spirit.
Such a cool and intimate venue. Can’t believe I was 15 feet away from these legends. Parking wasn’t bad,we got there an hour early. You can park behind the venue, street side,or on the LSU campus but make sure to check their free parking hours. Grab a bite next door at The Chimes!

I’ve been to a public show here years ago and had an amazing experience. However, a friend mentioned to me that you can do private events. I tried to reach out repeatedly in multiple forms including email, phone call, messaging social medias, emailing chimes next door to inquire about hosting a wedding reception there. After a month of no response, I moved on. I guess I wouldn’t want someone like that running my wedding anyways….

Had a great time! The Molly Ringwalds put on a great show and we were a good sized group of friends. Bartender was very efficient on the second level where we hung out for a birthday party and live music! Definitely still reminiscent of back in the day.... although back in the school days could have sworn it was bigger. Great place to meet up with friends for drinks and hang out!

Recently went here for Tank and the Bangas performance. The crew that worked here were really nice. The bartenders were attentive and nice. The facility is well ventilated for smokers and non smokers. I want to point out that I had two charges on my account from them. I recognized one and not the other. I reached out to management and he resolved the issue quickly and politely. Shout out to Brent McLellan! I really appreciate the great customer service and I'll definitely be back for another show.

George's Place is a laid-back gay bar in Baton Rouge that has been a part of the city's history since 1970. It welcomes everyone and hosts weekly karaoke nights, drag bingo, and captivating drag shows on its specially designed stage. The original location on Perkins Road offers generous portions of classic Louisiana dishes like burgers and Poboys.
Went with bestie for karaoke and had so much fun!! I’ve only ever been before with some friends during parade season, and those are usually very brief cuz I’m on my way to or from performing. Staff was super sweet and welcoming. I’m California sober so I only ordered a Diet Coke but was never pressured into any drink sales or anything at all like I get at other places. Chill queer safe space 💜

We held my daughters gender reveal in the large private bar room area on Nov 20th. We got a great deal on it for the afternoon from the manager. The room was perfect! It was not only decorated for the season but it was so very neat & clean. The new parents to be used the stage area for the big moment & there were plenty chairs/tables for everyone. All employees were accommodating and professional. Times are hard, so we are beyond grateful that they gave us a spectacular deal on use of this space. I'm giving The Station Bar and Grill five stars because they do exactly what they are supposed to do. We had an excellent selection of draft beer to choose from including the local favorites. Although no frozen drinks were available, the mixed drinks were correctly made and tasted great. We got there for $6 burgers and free comedy on a Wednesday and were slightly dismayed to find a headliner with a $15 entry... but that ended up being well worth it. The $6 burgers were phenomenal and would be at their regular price too. Can't wait to go back again, but think I'll wait for the next headline show, because that put the whole experience over the top. One last note... they call themselves a bar and grill, but I would clarify that they are more bar than grill. Orders are taken and served at the bar... but don't let that keep you away!

Night club
Splash Nightclub is a lively gay nightclub in Baton Rouge that offers an inclusive and energetic atmosphere. The venue features two levels, with the top floor designed like a lounge area where you can relax on sofas and enjoy views of the dance space below. The lower level boasts a vibrant dance area with a stage, lighting effects, disco ball, and occasional fog misters to keep the party-going crowd cool.
One of the best LGBTQ night clubs in Baton Rouge!! They always have fantastic music and a great place to dance! DJ Affiliated was playing and amazing! Brandon the bartender was friendly, fast, and a great time to hang near all the time. There’s a pool table, outside balcony, and upstairs balcony if you aren’t as social too!

Absolutely stunning! I was in love with the environment! I actually ended up celebrating my 23rd there but unfortunately I went by myself, HOWEVER the ATMOSPHERE and the love I received from the regulars and the staff at Splash was amazing. 10/10 loved it there and they will definitely be seeing more of me 😚

First and foremost: the vibes are great. Only place outside of NOLA in Louisiana where you can dance. The fog is always refreshing and the strobe lights go hard. The drink intensity varies SEVERELY. Some days you can get to the bottom of the glass and find no liquor, others, you drown in it. That sort of thing can be attributed to training and new hires no biggie. THE BIGGEST ISSUE IS THE MUSIC… especially on themed nights. Clubhouse beats are fine for transitions. Not for three to five minutes. More than once a song has transitioned poorly, in the middle of a chorus, or right before a belt and or drop. It absolutely sucks the soul out of the experience and me and my usual group who go tend to stop dancing or idle because of it. As far as the themed night, we just left from the eighties session. While I can understand the “theme” aspect being primarily attributed to the drag performances, how can you advertise it and then play the bare minimum 80’s music before and after the performances? Least to say, the DJ could use serious work.
Ashlyn — Google review
Went to a drag show recently with some friends! It costs $10 to get in and if you're under 21 they take a thick sharpie and write a big "X" on both of your hands. Employees were friendly and the drag show was wonderful. The only complaints that I can make is that the area of town is lowkey sketchy and there were some creepy old men flirting with the younger people, but honestly that's typical for any club in a college town. I %100 would recommend going when you get the chance, it was a fun experience and I will likely be coming back soon again!
Pidge F — Google review
If you think this is a gay club, think again. It's overran by str8 girls and their very judgey boyfriends, undergrads, and people that don't understand or appreciate gay culture/vibes. They occasionally have drag, but if you expecting to be entertained...remember- ITS FOR THE STR8s. Save yourself the money and time and just hit up another bar like Mother's (even then a lil iffy) or just drive to NOLA 🤷🏿‍♂️
Solomon P — Google review
Fun dance club with an active crowd and good manager. Cheap drinks but does charge a cover, even if you are over 21. Only suggestion would be letting people over 21 in through a separate line- if you have to pay a cover at least let people buying drinks have priority.
James L — Google review
Splash has been a second home to my friends & I! The employees are welcoming & the music is always one point! The drag shows are my personal favorite! If you’re looking for a FUN dance night out this is the place!! 10/10 recommend.

I was groped and followed around the club, when I told the owner and security guard they said “it’s your word vs his”. I was groped while on the dance floor with some friends by some middle aged guy who looked like he was on drugs. I told him to get away. Then he stayed next to me the whole time. Every time I moved he followed me. When I moved to the opposite side of the club, he followed me and was standing still staring at me. I told him to leave me alone. He wouldn’t so I told security. Security came back and said the person that groped me was gay. And said “it’s your word against his and we can’t kick people out because you said he did something”. I told them how uncomfortable I was and how messed up it was that I was groped and followed and they didn’t do anything because the guy said he was gay. I talked to the owner and he reassured me that he wanted everyone to be safe and have fun and that it was not okay. He said he will take care of it. I was upset and stepped outside for 10 minutes. Came back in and the guy who groped me was standing at the bar in the front. I was upset that he did nothing after claiming it wasn’t okay and he would take care of it. I asked the owner what the issue was and he said “it’s your word against his” i said why would I make this up about someone I don’t even know? The owner then went on a five minute rant, pointing his finger in my face, touching my friends and screaming at me. He screamed at me for about a minute about how much money he had lost during Covid. I got my phone out to record it bc of how aggressive and rude he was being towards me. Unfortunately I can’t post videos. But he told me to go to Reggie’s and see how I’m treated there. Then said “there’s the door go” but claimed he wasn’t kicking me out. Then he asked security to escort us out. So he couldn’t kick out 1 person for groping me. But kicked out me and my 9 friends. Splash is supposed to be a LGBTQ+ friendly place, but they let someone grope me and did nothing because he said he was gay. Was so humiliating and scary. Worst experience I have had at any bar.

The establishment is known for its generous portions and extensive selection of sizzling fajitas, spicy enchiladas, and mesquite-fired meats. Guests can enjoy their meals on the shaded patio while being entertained by live music on weekends.
I would move, to be closer to this place. No. Really. I live 2.5 hours away, and have not stopped thinking about it since. We had a party of 11, and the service was top notch. My daughter had just graduated, and they made a fuss over her, and sang to her. Thank you, Superior grill for making my baby's night even more special.

This is a fairly nice place but it's seemed a little over priced for a Mexican restaurant and service was kinda uncertain but come time to pay for the meal it was very unorganized, but with a group of 20 and each one trying to pay for their own can get confusing but the waiter kept giving me someone else's bill even after I told him what I had 3 times( taco salad with shrip and a large bowl of white cheese $50-60 total). Going as a couple or a small group maybe okay but I personally will not be going back to this place. Really wasn't impressed by the place after a 7 hour drive from Arkansas.

This is one of my favorite spots! Always has been. I almost always dine alone. This time was no different! I visited for the first time, last week, wearing my hijab. I was afraid I may not be welcomed. To my delight, I was treated as good as always! I seated myself in my usual spot immediately upon arrival. My waiter was Hannah. She was super sweet & apologized that she didn't get to me sooner. I told her I'd literally just sat down and it was no rush. I asked for salsa & chips & she said she'd bring me a water with my coke. She returned shortly after & I ordered my food. The server brought it out in no time. I was brought a to go box when it was time to leave. & everyone I'd encountered was pleasant, per usual. If you're ever in the area and want a good meal for a nice price, check them out! I no longer drink alcohol, but they have the BEST margaritas ever!!! I only got food of the chips and salsa! Side note: they allow you to swap out the rice & beans with French fries if you ask (although it's not listed or stayed on the menu as an option)!

The food was fantastic. The music was great. The entire back of the restaurant was rocking and singing to the music that the band played. Also, no one rushed us out. In fact, they encouraged us to stay for as long as we wanted. And we did. If you want great food, drinks, music, and fun go to the Superior Bar and Grill Mid-City. I know I will. 🥳🤗🌮🍹🧉

I have heard of Superior Grill but had never been. I'm so glad we opted for Mexican on a Saturday night in Baton Rouge! The queso and salsa and chips were really good. The steak fajitas are out of this world delicious. And the Cilantro and Jalapeno Margarita was divinely spicy and delicious. The place was crowded but we did not have to wait for a table. Parking was easy and plentiful and the lot was packed. There were three birthdays being celebrated and they have a very fun way of celebrating you on your special day. We will be going back for more fajitas and margaritas!

I have long loved Superior. I had an old friend from out of town so I suggested we meet here for its lively, colorful atmosphere. I found the atmosphere, however, seated against the back wall near the kitchen was not ideal as it is dark and only LOUD. We ordered and our drink was brought immediately. Our appetizer soon followed and then our entree. We had hardly placed our napkins down when our check was presented. We paid and tipped generously- despite not having any warm interaction with waitstaff. 10 minutes after paying, our waitress measly and quite curtly suggested we leave due to " long waitlist". I was appaled. I feel disrespected, degraded and terribly embarrassed. I have been dining out in Baton Rouge for 60 years and NEVER has this happened to me, EVER We occupied the table for 1.25 hours. I caution others, especially older ladies like myself.

This place gives me Papasitos vibes. The building, the white table cloths, nice silverware, and definitely the pricing. Unfortunately that’s as good as it gets. The rice, beans, tortillas, chips and salsa are all very basic. No way this didn’t come off a Sysco truck. I ordered the lunch special Mesquite Fajita. The fajita was actually very tender. No complaints there. But, the mesquite flavor was minimal and barely noticeable. Service was a little disjointed. As nice as the staff was, I’m not seeing a return visit in my future.

The restaurant is known for its authentic Louisiana-style bar and Cajun food. It has its roots in Baton Rouge with the first location near Tiger Stadium.
Last minute decision to stop at Walk-On’s and wow, what a great call! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and seated quickly despite the busy crowd. The atmosphere was energetic but comfortable, with plenty of TVs to catch the game without feeling overwhelming. Our server, Meadow, was incredibly friendly, attentive, and gave us some great recommendations. We tried the Death Valley drinks and the hot honey wings. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in what they do. Drinks were strong, prices were great, and the entire experience felt like a win. Whether you’re in for a casual night out like we were, or just catching a bite on the road, Walk-On’s hits the mark. Definitely adding this spot to the favorites list!

Went to Walk-On’s on Burbank and had a great experience. Our server Jacob P. really stood out he set the tone for the whole visit. From the start he was upbeat and welcoming as most gingers are, made my close friends feel at home, and had great recommendations on what to order. We could tell he knew the menu well, and he was quick to share his favorites without being overbearing. Throughout the meal, Jacob was on point drinks never sat empty, food came out a little later than we could expect but Jacob checked in at the perfect times. He even cracked a few jokes with us, which made the experience feel more personal and fun instead of just another dinner out. The food itself was “mid” but honestly, the service from Jacob made the night. When you have someone who actually enjoys what they’re doing and treats you like more than just another table, it makes a difference. JP U ROCK!

Tin Roof Brewing Co LLC is a popular microbrewery located in Baton Rouge, offering guided tours every Friday with sample tastings and hosting regular events. Situated near downtown, this locally owned brewery provides a relaxed and inviting atmosphere for craft beer enthusiasts.
I like the atmosphere of this brewery. It's a very family-friendly, kids friendly , and pets friendly brewery. I have been here a few times and a couple of times in a family-friendly friday. They have activities like face painting and balloon twisting to keep the kids engaged. And also had a lot of outdoor space for the kids to run around. I tried a couple of their beers and am pretty impressed. They also have an Outpost which serves some good food. The menu was small but pretty good. The service was pretty good in the brewery and the outpost too. In the brewery they helped me pick the beer i would enjoy and in the outpost they made a recommendation of a off the menu item as i wasn't sure if i wanted a smash burger or the brisket toast. Think this is going to be a regular spot for me to stop by. Forgot to say they had live music sessions on the family Friday and they werelike local bands who want to perform. We saw kids around as young as 12yrs old performing with their band.

We stopped in for a fantastically informative brewery tour and decided to stay for dinner. The tacos were intense to say the least. We tried a good variety and they were full of flavor and spice! My wife who was hesitant to see the brewery was glad we stayed for the tacos... she already wants to go back again, which will let me get more of that great Tin Roof beer. Stopped by here to try some craft beers. I must say, I do not like sour beer but the Uber Froot (blackberry sour) was really good. Juke Joint IPA is my favorite. Not a single beer I sampled was bad, all unique and tasted just as they were described. Friendly people and staff, will definitely come back.

This is a great little brewery in Baton Rouge. Good outdoor deck and seating, and tasty beers. The Heart Shaped Box and the Lemon & Lavender were our favorites but all we tasted were good. Friendly service!

Dropped by to try out the local scene, arriving at what looks like a warehouse with shipping docks. Interior is pretty small with a capacity of maybe 40 people. Bar staff was not very friendly or sociable. As far as beers go, I tried the kettle sour and the IPA. Kettle sour was overwhelmed with a metallic taste and was pretty underwhelming. The IPA smelled and tasted like nothing but pine sap, which actually was pretty nice if that's what you're into. Overall, it was good but I wouldn't repeat either of the beers.

My favorite brewery in Baton Rouge. Great beer selection and they have small batch brews you can not get elsewhere. To go cans are super cheap, starting at $5 per six pack.

Nestled in the heart of downtown Baton Rouge, Bengal Tap Room is a vibrant sports bar that promises an unforgettable experience for both foodies and beer lovers alike. With an impressive selection of 40 beers on tap, including ales, IPAs, sours, and American wheat varieties, there's something to satisfy every palate. The menu boasts a delightful array of shareable appetizers like onion rings and boudin balls alongside hearty sandwiches and fried shrimp.
Stopped in to try cheese curds, a new menu item, food was fresh and crispy, dipping sauce was good. Burger had good flavor. 1st time trying the Candy paint ale, ordered 2

Good local craft beers, and good craft beer from abroad. Nice little snack menu and outside seating for you that smoke or vape. They have a pool table and the music can be requested, so no jukebox.

Pretty typical bar food but it’s good. Fried pickles and the Tiger Tea are my favorites , chicken burger is also good!

Walking distance from the downtown hotels. Perfect spot for an after work drink or quick grub. Awesome place to watch sports with plenty of tvs and outdoor seating. Philly egg rolls were delicious and burger was so so. Fries were great. All in all cool vibe nice staff and service. Definitely recommend.

Great selection of well priced beers on tap, food was surprisingly good as well. We had the chicken club and spicy chicken sandwich. I really enjoy their app, I love that they have the prices of the beer. I dislike restaurants who hide the prices. I personally like to know if I'm buying a $12 or a $5 drink. This place gets 5 stars for being transparent. I also enjoyed the large amount of seating in door and out, pool table and Trent and the rest of the staff were friendly and made me feel welcome.

Come here and meet “Malort Madi,” the most honest and genuine bartender this side of the Mississippi. In all seriousness, she’s awesome and she will sell you Malort. Do it.

Friday night at 630pm and literally 6 people as customers. Bartender very helpful on beers but kitchen cook sitting at the bar and was excited to try food here based on old pictures but totally dead. Front of place makes it look closed. We had beers and went somewhere else for food. Website doesn't even work and looks like they are on their way to closure. Chairs on the tables in the front of the bar and zero vibe.

Fred's Bar & Grill is a lively nightspot with a spacious patio that has been serving drinks and hosting DJs or live music since 1982. Located near Louisiana State University (LSU) in Baton Rouge, it's popular among students and young adults for its relaxed atmosphere and affordable drink specials. The venue offers various entertainment options such as live music, DJs, and themed nights to keep the energy high.
Damn, what a spot. For game day there is no better place than right here at Fred's. What a great time. The bartender Mathew took awesome care of us and he ran the bar like a boss. How can it get any better when the big man himself is on the grill cooking all the steaks and his wife is keeping it straight on when you get your food. Great times and look forward to going back every time on game day.
Castleberry — Google review
I’ve been coming to Fred’s for years and usually love the place. The bartenders, music, and atmosphere are all great. Last night, however, I had the single worst experience I’ve ever had at a bar. I was invited to the VIP section by a friend celebrating their birthday, yet the bouncer refused to let me in. I offered to pay cover, but he said he was “told I’m not supposed to come in,” despite the person who invited me literally standing next to him insisting I should be allowed. No attempt to understand the situation, just a flat denial. I’ve never written a negative review before, but this was beyond unprofessional. Honestly, I guess it makes sense. When you’re 30+ years old and overweight working as a bouncer in Baton Rouge, you probably don’t have a lot of control over your own life, so you cling to the tiny bit of authority you get at the entrance. Shallow, empty existence aside, it’s just terrible customer service. That being said, I have nothing but respect for the management at Fred’s. As I said before, I have been coming here for years, and will continue to do so. It is recognized nationally for a reason. I would like to say thank you for the excellent service I have experienced thus far, but I would also like to voice my complaint for today, which left a very sour taste in my and my friend’s mouth.

Ill be very honest, I have never really liked the food here but i keep trying to like it... but the fact that they had a mocktail menu was a huge plus!!! We came and drank and ate for the finale of love island!! One of the girls there went out of her way to put it on and that was so nice of her I really appreciated it!! The atmosphere is absolutely beautiful!! I do think they need to care for their plants more, pruning whats dead and falling off to make the scene look more green and alive, but im just extra!! Other than that, great vibes here and a great place to hang out!!

Been wanting to visit this place for a long time finally had the opportunity and mane was I….. disappointed. Besides the water ordered an old fashion mediocre must is say no identity at all. Started with the boudin balls as an appetizer ( well orderd an appetizer which came out with the rest of our order . Bummer! Wife ordered the chicken sandwich with the side of grits. The first bite of chicken sandwich she says it had no flavor . I ordered the sausage biscuit with (honey butter!) and a side of potatoes. Wife did not like the potatoes she mentioned they are dry! Hmm I thought they were pretty good myself had a lil smoky flavor to them . As you can see my biscuit was super dry. I called the waiter over to ask about the SMOKED honey butter , oh I’m sorry we are out of the smoked honey butter ! So here’s a flew slices of lard. Omg a completer horrible experience. Oh almost forgot the boudin balls are amazing came out piping hot a ten in my book ! And the grits were are delicious . The boudin balls and the grits saved the day . Phewww. Complete bummer did we order the wrong things or what. Please explain the long lines.

The bartenders were incredible and very knowledgeable. The music carried the vibe of the earthly environment perfectly and made me feel like I was living in a garden paradise. Truly a place like no other in the greater Baton Rouge area and I have been praising this establishment’s atmosphere for years. The only issue I had was the lack of food options that are suitable for a clientele base that takes their health into account. The drinks, environment, service, and location are awesome but I wish the culinary options included a more plant based audience without forcing us to eat hummus (like EVERY other place) or a leafy green salad (YAWN). Less fried, more grilled, please! Overall amazing experience except the food options.

I came in alone and sat down quietly before anyone else at the bar. Two ladies were working behind the bar and both awkwardly ignored me and only acknowledged the men who entered in DIRECTLY behind me. It was the strangest thing because it was intentional- they deliberately avoided eye contact. I was left seated alone with no acknowledgment. I expected at least a “hi, one moment” or something decent considering I came in alone at 10:50 a.m. The place opens at 10:30. Instead, they ignored me and addressed the guests who came in and sat down after me. Customer service is terrible, so i hope the food is worth it. will not be coming back and will not be recommending this place to anyone. most awkward solo birthday brunch with the weirdest people i have ever experienced.

Courtyard dive with cute bar staff, solid selection of LA draft beers, well constructed shelter roof that covers about 2/3 of the yard, big stage, picnic benches, plastic cups, mixed crowd 30ish. A guy without shirt with friends on a table seemed normal. Overall a tidbit seedy, just what a dive needs.

If this is the best bar in Baton Rouge as others claim, I do not know if I would want to go to another. Total dive bar. The place is small and smokey. Everyone in the bar was hammered at 10 PM and making inappropriate comments. Bartender was friendly and energetic. Drinks were cheap. It would be great for poor college students or homeless people.

Still one of my favorite spots in downtown, under the radar kinda place! Never to busy, the bartenders are awesome, and their whiskey selection is pretty big. Great crowd too, never seen any fights or arguments here, good place to meet an old friend and catch up!
Sean M — Google review
Pretty fun place. They host good shows and the drink prices are average. Events claim it's 21+ but there's never anyone at the door to check IDs, so apparently it's an all-ages place. (?!) Bartenders check IDs sometimes. And they sometimes drink with customers/friends, and comp drinks, over serving actual customers. And, while being aware of customers who have been next in line to order for 5 or more minutes will still just take the order of whoever just walked up to the bar. Not at all cool, but whatever. I still like the space. I just won't give any more money to the bar because it's a joke.
Jacy R — Google review
Not worth your time or money. I had time to kill before an early evening concert and was asked why I was there?? Bartender acted as if she was very inconvenienced by my presence. Horrible place. Went to see one of our favorite bands for a pot luck and 45 min into the band playing, the owner yelled at us for eating the food WE BROUGHT, so we left. TJ Ribs, a renowned barbecue joint in Baton Rouge, has been serving up hearty classics like baby back ribs, brisket, chicken, sausage and steaks for nearly three decades. The marinated baby back ribs are the star of the menu, slow-cooked to perfection for tender meat that falls off the bone. With curbside pickup and delivery options available, TJ Ribs offers a takeout menu featuring premium steaks, seafood, burgers and more.
BBQ in Louisiana! Right off I-10 and what a place. Large menu - would take many visits to explore it all. We ordered based on our usual back home experience - meatloaf, burnt ends, sausage, coleslaw, green beans, sweet potato fries, mashed potato and a loaded baked potato. Also ordered the gumbo something we don’t have. Meat was all great and portion size met expectations. There were two sauces available- mild and hot at the table. Green beans had more spice than the hot sauce. I enjoyed them. Coleslaw was offered with peanuts as an option but I didn’t think that added anything. The sweet potato fries were waffle fries were crisp and light - best we ever had. Mashed potatoes were fresh - skins could be seen. Baked potato was perfectly cooked. Gumbo was delicious, we both wish there was more okra. Overall outstanding BBQ. I will be back for the ribs!
Paul P — Google review
The evening in Baton Rouge moves like molasses—slow, thick, inevitable. The air hangs heavy with heat and the lingering perfume of woodsmoke and spice, the scent of something coaxed, not forced, into existence. There’s an unspoken rule here: you don’t rush the good things. And right now, I want something worth waiting for. So I find myself at TJ Ribs, where LSU’s legends don’t just hang on the walls—they loom. Their ghosts sit in the booths, nodding in silent approval, watching over a menu that doesn’t waste time with nonsense. It’s barbecue, done right. I don’t hesitate. I order the full rack. When it arrives, it’s everything it should be. A plate of ribs that have known patience, given over to time and smoke like some kind of slow Southern prayer. First, the dry rub, deep and knowing. Then the low heat, the long wait, the transformation. Fire at the end, but just enough—because the ribs don’t need to be drowned in sauce. They need to be honored. Potato salad on the side, the cool, starchy pause before the next bite. Slaw, crisp and clean, like a deep breath between sips of sweet tea that drips condensation onto the table. I take my time, because a meal like this isn’t just about eating—it’s about understanding. This is food with history, ribs with a story, and a place where tradition doesn’t just sit in a glass case—it sits next to you at the bar. Billy Cannon frozen in mid-stride, Pistol Pete caught in a flicker of impossible grace, Shaq with that unmistakable grin like a man carrying more than just a team. Some restaurants serve food. TJ Ribs serves memories. And as I walk out into the thick Baton Rouge night, the taste still lingers—smoke, spice, the weight of something done right. Some places fade. Some things get lost. But not here. Here, history isn’t just told. It’s eaten.

Cute spot has lots of space for parties get-togethers or celebrations. The food was absolutely phenomenal. The only downfall would be the white cheese for the macaroni. And cheese, however, the ribs, the catfish, and everything else was fantastic and highly recommended. You won't be disappointed!

I had a friend coming over to watch the LSU game today. I told her I was going to treat her to some TJ Ribs wings.... went on all day about how delicious they were. I ordered 3 orders and asked for a ranch and blue cheese dip in each. Got home and was so disappointed. Wings were overcooked and dry. Not one box had the dips I requested. None of them had celery either. So I apologized while we choked down my $58.00 purchase. The receipt on the bag clearly stated what I ordered but no one cared enough to get it right. I understand prices have gone up but no excuse for the dried up wings and not getting the order right. Why don't people care anymore?
Mona B — Google review
They no longer offer a rib dish on their lunch menu. Prices are much higher than in the past (yes, all restaurants have raised their prices but theirs are more than most). Our server was clueless. We had to ask several times for simple items that she should have asked if we wanted when she took our order such as condiments for our sandwich which is served dry otherwise and butter for a baked potato that she brought completely bare. The iced tea was the best part of our meal. Although since it was fresh and melted the ice, we had to ask twice for a glass of ice. I will add that the restaurant was virtually empty when we were there so being “busy” cannot be used as an excuse. Our entire table was disappointed that a restaurant we have loved for years was such a let down this time. We will give them another chance due to years of good food and service.

3/7/24 Wake up! Y'all are sleepin on TJ Ribs! Tons of local sports memorabillia including a freaking wall of Shaq! It was so unbelievably cool! So atmosphere is already a 30 and then I swear they had a picture of Pistol Pete too! Went for lunch and Priscilla was an amazing server! I got the smoked wings. How are they the BEST IN TOWN. Cooked to perfection, permeated with deep smoky goodness. Fulton St. Ribs will have you slappin' your debit card repeatedly on the table. I'm not of the "Ribs falling apart are overcooked" crowd. If my Ribs bone don't come out cleaner than St. Peter's soul, I don't want it. Lo and behold, perfection as every single bone was easily drawn out and dropped. Boudin balls. I don't know where they come from, if they're made in house or brought in. They look brought in but they're scrumptious! Carrot souffle gets a 4, only because it was a bit too sweet. Onion Rings were perfectly crisp, and somehow not greasy! Give the kitchen staff a round of applause and a raise because they did that! Lastly, but not at all least, I forgot to ask the name of the hostess. She was so sweet and kind to us. Thank you so much, ma'am!

Talk about an incredible dining experience...the dining areas are all themed beautifully, the service here is some of the best I've ever had, and the food....where do I even get started on the food! It was all so delicious and flavorful, and perfectly cooked. I cant wait to come back again!

Came on a recommendation of a friend. Atmosphere and service were top notch. Food was good but not elite. The wedge salad did not have enough blue cheese. The tuna appetizer was excellent. Highly recommended. The hallelujah soft shell crab, which seems like their signature dish was just so-so. Soft shell crab was very fresh but I think they only give you half a soft shell crab. The mashed potatoes doesn't go well with the crab. Perhaps if it came with a crab meat risotto, it would make the dish stand out more. The pecan bread pudding tasted a little stale, dry and it came out mouth burning. They microwaved it a little too long.

Went for the jazz brunch and got the shrimp toast, shrimp and grits and for a cocktail, an expresso martini. Wasn't crazy about the sauce on the shrimp in grits but I wasn't bad. Shrimp toast was great. The martini I never had before so I decided to try today, was pretty good! The atmosphere was awesome👌

We was looking for something a little different and my husband had a taste for fried soft shell crab. We went for lunch so it wasn't to busy, we we're greeted with a smile and very friendly welcome. Our waitress Elaine was so sweet and her recommendation was great. We started with salad a wedge and caesar and appetizers the Crawfish wonton so good. My husband had the Hallelujah crab and I had Redfish Adrian it was good but they could keep the mushrooms and add a little more sauce, I did have a tast of my husband's crab PEFECT. All in all everything was delicious and good definitely will try again for dinner. Again Eleaine did great.

My lobster and Brussel sprouts were very good. My husband said his fish needed seasoning. We ordered the crab beignets as an appetizer and our server forgot to place the order so they arrived agter our entree. She offered us a free dessert but not of our choosing. They gave us bread pudding that neither one of us eat, but they were very nice about it. We ordered the desserts we wanted, since that's what we had planned on doing anyway.

One of the best in Baton Rouge. Great for just about any occasion - regular dining, business lunch and learns, very accommodating and good central location. Sprawling venue - nice buildout. Food and service is always wonderful. Oysters Rockefeller amazing. Steak and fish entrees hard to go wrong.

Great spot to have a meal and hang with your friends and family. They have a great patio with ceiling fans to keep the air moving and keeping it as cool as it can be. The staff is really friendly and attentive. The drinks and beer are on point and the food was GREAT. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Also plenty of parking. If your visiting you should for sure check this place. As for locals, I'm sure they already know how awesome this place is =)

Best BBQ in Louisiana! The crawfish queso was so good, and they serve it with homemade pork skins to scoop it up with, as well as home made crispy fried chips. This place was amazing! Highly recommend if you're driving anywhere near Baton Rouge you stop and give this place a try.

I finally got a chance to eat here and i enjoyed it. The waiter and staff were kind and courteous. The food was seasoned just right, we ordered the blue cheese bib & steak and the brisket burger. Although I enjoyed my salad, I have been craving that brisket burger it was so good I almost tip the cook. The atmosphere was amazing, relaxing, clean environment, they greet you when you enter, say bye when you leave, everyone was smiling and no long faces. I was on a date so this was the right place for it, it can also be a spot to just have time to yourself or me time as I call it. Would I recommend this restaurant YES INDEED.

It was the evening that we were leaving our son at college and we were breaking down crying. Our waitress was amazing. Had an excellent experience here. Started with the Pork Debris Spring Rolls. So good. Then ordered the City Pork BBQ Platter for the entree. SO much food. Delicious. Didn't eat it all. Leftovers for several days. Would order again. We will definitely come back and try some of the sandwiches next time. Great service and atmosphere here. The music was also good. The Grateful Dead was playing when I walked in.

Had lunch here with family. Food was great! I had the wild boar chile rellano. The staff was so excited about their perfectly cooked egg on top. It was fun. Had the bacon old fashioned - which to be honest - is pretty gimmicky - and I don't care because I got a piece of bacon. The drink was fine otherwise. We had some house chips on the table with some sort of dip that was great too (sorry dont remember the details). Would love to come back another time.

Beausoleil Coastal Cuisine is a hidden gem in Baton Rouge, offering contemporary Louisiana cuisine in a relaxed bistro setting with the option of patio seating. The restaurant serves up upscale seafood dishes with a unique blend of French and Louisiana influences, including fresh fish, oysters, shrimp, salads, soups, and small plates. Guests can enjoy live music in the airy bar while savoring brunch classics or more adventurous culinary delights like lobster and waffles.
Went here for New Years Eve dinner and could not have asked for a better experience. It was not too loud so could have easy conversation. Waitress and trainee were super friendly and the food was delicious.I want to go back already! Our tenderloin came out a little more raw than we would have liked for medium and they happily took it back and made a completely new plate. It did take a little time but they discounted it and we were also given two desserts. Highly recommend!
Kristen N — Google review
A perfect blend of coastal elegance and Southern hospitality, Beausoleil delivers fresh seafood, premium ingredients, and vibrant Gulf Coast flavors. I highly recommend the brown butter drum—I felt adventurous and swapped the garlic mashed potatoes for the dirty rice risotto, and it was absolutely worth it. Don’t skip the New Orleans-style charbroiled oysters—they’re a must-have during happy hour.
Ronda D — Google review
The ambiance here is sleek, sophisticated, and low-key—perfect for a more intimate dining experience. We visited on a Saturday and were surprised at how quiet it was, which worked in our favor since we reserved a private dining area for a retirement party. The setup was perfect, and the staff and our server were incredibly attentive, helpful, and thoughtful throughout the evening. For drinks, we ordered a variety which included espresso martini, lemon drop martini, champagne margarita (table favorite) and blackberry bourbon lemonade. I don’t think you can go wrong on any of the drinks offered. For appetizers, we tried the raw oysters, blue crab claws, tuna tataki, and brussels sprouts. The standouts were definitely the tuna and brussels sprouts—both were outstanding! Even my daughter, who usually avoids raw fish, went back for seconds on the tuna. For entrees, we ordered the brown butter drum, crawfish Mac & cheese, and the tenderloin. The drum was okay—nothing particularly memorable. The crawfish Mac & cheese was amazing-creamy and cheesey! The portion is very generous and can be shared. Unfortunately, my fiancé had to send his tenderloin back as it was overcooked, which was a bit disappointing. While the service and starters were excellent, I found the entrees a bit underwhelming for the price. That said, I would consider coming back just for the tuna, crawfish Mac & cheese, and brussels sprouts, and perhaps to try a different main course.

Business dinner with a colleague seated outside during excellent weather, great atmosphere. Service was ok, not bad but nothing exceptional for a higher end restaurant as the waiter seemed a bit young and inexperienced. I deducted two stars for the food because it was not exceptional, the fried oysters were overly salty and there were bits of oyster shells fried into the cornbread that made me almost chipped my tooth. If it was just one random piece I would not have minded but there were multiple pieces of shell. The beet and arugula salad was good, topped with grilled shrimp. The tiramisu was presented well but the taste left much to be desired as it tasted more like cheesecake.
Good C — Google review
We had a terrible experience here for dinner! First of all, there were several fruit flies all around the bar and dining area, no matter what section you were in. We ordered the seafood tower and chargrilled oysters and were very disappointed. The seafood tower was extremely underwhelming and not worth the $165 price. The chargrilled oysters were severely overcooked and dry as a bone. You can see in the photo only one oyster had any juice and the rest were DRY and tiny. We came because it was highly recommended but left hungry and disappointed. Only redeeming quality was that our waiter and bartender was great.

I took my wife here for dinner last week. The Crispy Brussel Sprouts were hard and sort of dry. My wife had the Hickory Salmon, she actually like the salmon, but the side was bland. I ordered the Crawfish Mac & Cheese (NEVER AGAIN). I was giving Velveeta shells and cheese w/o any flavor! The cheese was watery and the taste was BLAND! I also ordered the Provencal Chicken, it was just blah....The service was exceptional, but they don't cook!

I came to here on a Sunday after church for brunch. I can honestly say I’ve never had food so bad in my life. I ordered gumbo, it came out cold and the rice was so gummy they literally just put a gummy ball in the bowl. I also ordered a Cesar salad and it had wilted pink lettuce in it. The waitress brought the manager to the table and I told him to just look at the food. I don’t even understand how they even thought the food was presentable. The service was okay…? The team seemed extremely confused and out of it. They were not rude but could use more coaching on professionalism. Overall, I think this restaurant is focusing more on appearance and ambience rather than food.

I celebrated my birthday dinner here with friends in 2023, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Valet parking made arrival easy, and the ambiance set the tone for a classy night out. The food was absolutely amazing — flavorful, beautifully presented, and well worth the visit. What stood out even more was the building’s architecture. The original design and elevators have been preserved, giving the space a unique charm that blends history with elegance. Overall: 5/5. Highly recommend for a sophisticated evening in downtown Baton Rouge.

Stef — Google review
Halfway decent food but the atmosphere isn’t worthy of it. I'm not even going to dive into the food really because it's irrelevant to how awful the atmosphere and service here is. Honestly, I had a feeling this was going to be a waste of time the second we walked in and drunk idiots were standing and shouting at the top of their lungs at the adjacent bar without being checked by the hotel or restaurant staff. I was right. We arrived at 4:50 for 5:00 reservations. The host table wasn't staffed until ~5 minutes after our reservation so we weren't seated until after our reservation time. He looked bothered that we were there and was not welcoming at all. We only received food menus with no drink menus. Our server asked if we wanted something other than water, but we advised we didn't receive a drink menu so we didn't know. He brought us a tablet with a drink menu on it only after asking and warned that they didn't have everything on the menu without going into specifics. How lovely. We were seated facing the hotel entrance so there were people standing around our table, taking pictures, and having loud conversations. A “date night” place this is not although that’s what it sells itself as. Do not be fooled; it’s an average but extremely overpriced restaurant in the middle of a busy hotel lobby. Seriously, it’s a small seating area cordoned off by stanchions and velvet ropes from the rest of the lobby. It’s not a separate area or anything, so people are coming in with music playing on their phones, loud luggage rolling on the floor, etc. Just terrible. To boot, this was booked as a birthday dinner for my wife and there wasn’t a *single* mention of it from the host or server at any point. I couldn’t have been more disappointed in that. Something so basic just overlooked I suppose. No restaurant worth its salt would ever let that happen. But it’s why we will never return and why I will never recommend this place to anyone for a special event. Ambience here is way, way off and there are better restaurants nearby that do it right. We walked out of here having spent $200+ including tip on 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, a dessert, and 3 drinks and we were happier to be leaving than we were to be there. Don't say you weren't warned.

Great experience tonight, bartenders were very friendly and attentive to everyone's needs. The cheese fries were excellent and the beer was ice cold. Crowd was a mix of younger and older people which was refreshing at 54. Large selection of beers on tap and bottled options as well. Lots of pool tables and karaoke was available upstairs, if that's your jam. The only place I know of in town that serves shepherds pie, and it is straight FIYA. Definitely one of the best chill spots in BR.

I had a late lunch here. My mom and I shared the Cajun Creole Pasta and Ceasar Salad, and my dog, Bogart, had a Gobble Gobble Bowl of Roasted Turkey. The pasta was good, I just wish it had some spice to it, and the turkey bowl was just deli turkey, which was a little disappointing. I thought it'd be sliced turkey. But, Bogart seemed to like it. The dog friendly patio was nice.

My friend and I had a delightful experience at "The Smiling Dog" one evening. Upon entering, we were greeted by a clean and spacious atmosphere, setting the perfect stage for a relaxing night out. The drinks were not only reasonably priced but also remarkably delicious, a testament to the skill of the bartenders who were warm and attentive from the moment we arrived. Despite not sitting directly at the bar, the staff made sure to check in on us regularly, ensuring our needs were met. The lively atmosphere, coupled with great music, provided the ideal backdrop for an enjoyable evening. For those seeking entertainment, there are pool tables and darts available, making it an ideal spot for quality time with friends or family. Absolutely loved this place. A friend and I went to grab a bite and decided to try this place. When I tell you it did not disappoint, it definitely did not disappoint. Everything we tried was great. We had the lamb lollipops, chargrilled oysters, and the chicken wings for appetizers. Note the oysters were not the best I ever had, but they had good flavor. Not lamb lollipops were flavorful and delicious along with the chicken wings. The seafood pasta was good but wasn’t creamy enough for me. Flavor was good though and my friend loved it. Drink were good as well!

The atmosphere is nice. Sometimes, the chatter in the bar area can get kind of loud and chatty, but we sat at one of the back tables, which decreased it some. For the appetizer, we had the lamb lollipops, which were delicious. Entrees were the burger Marriott and the seared scallops. The burger was tasty, and the fries were good. The scallops could've had a touch longer for searing. The risotto was delicious. A great dish in all. The pecan pie was exactly like I like it - more filling than pecans on top. The pecans tasted like they had been roasted, but some had more of a charred taste. All in all, a great dining experience. Would return.

I had an amazing experience at Tallulah Crafted Food and Wine Bar on Monday while staying at the hotel. I sat at the bar, and the bartender was fantastic — friendly, attentive, and skilled. The drink they made was absolutely delicious, and the extra touch of offering me a bottle of water to take back to my room after I paid the check was greatly appreciated. The food was outstanding as well — the Red Fish was perfectly cooked and full of flavor, and the Hummus was some of the best I’ve had. Hands down one of the best hotel restaurants I’ve visited so far. Highly recommend! EDT: Came back Today for Lamb Lollipops and they were delicious. Different bartenders, but equally amazing service. + awesome Live music most days. Thank You!

The waiter was attentive, the atmosphere was amazing and not too loud. The food was a 5/10. I had the Lollipop Lamb Chops and they were TOUGH. They did not give me a steak knife but they gave me a butter knife which was hard given the lamb chops being really tough. The mash potatoes had great flavoring, I just wish they were creamier. My friend also had the “small plate” wings and they had a bunch of brown sugar on them, they were a bit too sweet.

I've heard great things about this place from friends and was really looking forward to sampling their dishes. Decided to go for restaurant week and was really disappointed in the options on the RW menu. I'm going to give them a second chance to impress as the menu was not based on regular items. I will update my review once I've been back. Fingers crossed.

Just wow! Excellent service, excellent food, beautifully decorated restaurant! I ordered the lemon chop lollipops with chargrilled oysters and truffle chips as an appetizer and the knife and fork grilled cheese for my main entree. It was Excellent! I also ordered the shrimp and corn soup and it wasn't that great, but everything else was top knotch! The start of the show was definitely the Lamb chop lollipops! For drinks I ordered the French 225 and peach bourbon smash, both were good. The prices were very reasonable for the quality of food. I'll definitely be returning! Worth every penny!
Claudia L — Google review
The lamb chops are no longer on the appetizer menu and the chargrilled oysters were overly spiced and cheesed. The soda came from the bar and had a blended flavor from multiple flavor brands coming from the same spigot? I don’t know. I’ll get a red wine next time to fix that.

The Vintage Baton Rouge is a popular spot that has gained attention due to its history with Cafe du Monde and Morning Call. After a fierce bidding war, Cafe du Monde secured the building lease, leaving Morning Call searching for a new location. Despite this, other bright spots like Vintage on Magazine Street and the New Orleans Coffee & Beignet Company continue to thrive. The Vintage remains an intriguing destination in Baton Rouge, offering a unique experience for visitors.
Cute little coffee shop downtown. Wife wanted the best biegnets in the state, so we were told to go here. Fresh, warm right out the oven with lots of powdered sugar yummieness. The atmosphere was quiet and modern with several different types of people there. Some on laptops working, others reading books. Everything was good about this place. Definitely recommend

First of all, I ordered a croissant that was dry and hard and clearly has just been sitting out in open container as I saw the employee pull it out from there, secondly, since our order was to go order, it wasn’t until I got in the car and pulled off that I noticed that they gave us empty hard beignets!!!! Which doesn’t make sense since I waited in the restaurant for 20 minutes to get my order and everything was horrible. See pictures attached. If you are a college-aged person, this place may be a good time. I'm not. I'm 47. With a sore back. And a pinched nerve in my neck. And I went after an LSU football game. I personally did not have a good time, BUT all the kids there, my wife and her friends, appeared to be enjoying themselves. The place was very packed! Watching the dude get knocked out outside was pretty entertaining, but the contest was over WAY too fast. I'm glad I didn't have to pay to watch. I would have been pissed as apparently there was only one fight on the card that night. One redeeming factor involving the "atmosphere" was the scenery. It was a rather cold night for south Louisiana, but the beautiful young ladies that were in attendance did not disappoint! Most braved the cold in some fairly appealing to the eye fashion choices! Did not have an opportunity to sample any menu items or utilize the wait staff service. Giving 4 stars because I'm sure on any other night I probably would have enjoyed myself.

Update 6/18: Just had the burger... With loaded tots... Def amazeballs. My new fav sports bar in Baton Rouge. The staff is great, wings are done well, and atmosphere is what you want when watching sports: people who love the game(s). Highly recommend!

Family atmosphere everyone knows everyone and great place to watch a game Saints or LSU and the beer is on point 👉 if you want to wobble home

The entrance to this bar feels cramped, but when you go to the back, it's very open and pleasant. The staff are also quite lovely and accommodating. Drink prices are cheap enough and service is quick. The only thing I don't like is the lack of parking around it. I don't think that's something they control, but it was still a bit awkward.

The sports bar CLICKS offers tournament play, drink specials, and regular poker nights. The atmosphere is casual and the staff are welcoming. There is also a big screen TV to watch your favorite sports games, and plenty of seating to accommodate large groups.
First time the experience wasn’t the most pleasant. But after a second, then third consideration, I can now say I’m a regular. Ruby and Sydnie have made the experience enjoyable each time. How else would I know them by first name basis? Very enjoyable environment and super comfortable music choice selection. Inclusive environment!

My wife and I rolled in on Sunday morning at 11:20 a.m. The bar was mostly empty. We were greeted promptly and made to feel at home. Danielle (hopefully spelling is correct) was a great host/bar tender. We had a billiard table quickly. The service was great. Drinks were not watered down but very generous on the alcohol. We met some awesome other people and had lunch there (ordered through door dash). No troubles, no worries and we had a great time. Thanks Danielle. Clicks is worth the 50+ mile drive.

If you’re looking for a fun, relaxed spot to hang out, shoot some pool, and enjoy great drinks, Clicks is the place to be! The tables are in good condition and the music is always on point— whether you’re shooting league or just out for a casual night, you’ll feel right at home. What really sets this place apart, though, is the incredible staff. Huge shoutout to Sydnie, Ruby, and Miccah — they were all on top of their game! From lightning-fast service to genuinely welcoming attitudes, they made sure everything ran smoothly and that everyone was taken care of. You can tell they take pride in what they do, and it really elevates the whole experience.

Great dive bar only thing is the bartender will take your order then immediately take someone else’s order because they’re friends. Then they forget about you. Then you have to order again. Then they do the same thing again.
Andy W — Google review
Drinks are pretty good, martini night is a hard deal to miss. Highly recommend the Cajun martini. Staff isn’t always the nicest. Classic dive bar atmosphere
Sadie W — Google review
For a supposed cocktail bar, my bartender did not have the ingredients or did not know how to make the 2 classic cocktails I ordered. The first, a Sazerac, had lemon juice in it (and likely no absinthe or Herbsaint). The second, a Last Word, had a red cherry liqueur (not a maraschino liqueur) and lime juice for some reason. But service was quick and friendly. The atmosphere was great. Not a bar where it's easy to meet new people, but fewer early 20s patrons than other places nearby.

This place is awesome. From the cocktails to the food to the atmosphere. Bartenders are very knowledgeable about their bourbons. As well as other cocktail, serve, they have an awesome whiskey sour, and the wings as well as other appetizers, are delish.

This place is top notch for craft cocktails with a *huge* selection of liquors and liqueurs. Try any of the specialty drinks or go to try a new gin/ scotch/ whiskey. The bartenders are friendly and the place is kept clean, the new outdoors seating is wonderful when the weather is cooler. Didn't try any of the food so can't speak on that but if it's anything like the drinks, it should be worth it.

Friday evening and the place was a ghost town. The bartender was friendly enough, but the atmosphere was non existent and the drinks were pretty over priced. The food was so so, but absolutely not worth the wait. Took over a half hour for a burger and fries. My wife's nacho fries were clearly microwaved so that was pretty disappointing especially considering the wait time. Couldn't even use the busy kitchen excuse because there was a total of maybe 8 people in the whole place. Not really sure how this place has such high reviews. Google Definitely fooled me this time.

Absolutely horrible experience. 1 star is just for the sweet bartenders. Bouncers were so rude that I had to question myself. Went out To smoke a few times. 3rd time coming in she said she had to charge me $10 because I’ve been out so much. Then my girlfriend had some friends come meet us. Wanted to charge them $20 to even get in after not charging a single person. Then wanted to look at me stupid. Never again.

Jefferson Lounge is a neighborhood dive bar located at 4336 Floynell Dr, Baton Rouge, LA. It's a great spot to enjoy cold beer and good conversations with friends. The bar features a pool table and a comfy outdoor patio where you can relax and have fun. With occasional live music and quirky decor, it has the vibe of a family reunion. The separate-gender bathrooms are well-stocked, and there's ample parking available.
We went to hear our friend & musician, Walt Whitaker play his guitar! Retro place, great music! Pool Table, small place for band setup & a patio area. It’s a rather small neighborhood bar, but its iconic atmosphere is definitely inviting! I’m curious as to when it was first opened for business 🧐 🍸

Best bar in Baton Rouge, hands down! Mother’s Lounge is more than just a bar — it’s a whole experience. The cocktails are creative, strong, and beautifully crafted (seriously, you won’t find a better espresso martini in town). Mother’s strikes the perfect balance between classy and comfortable, with cozy lighting, great music, and an effortlessly inclusive vibe. The staff and ownership are the heart of the place — Montanna and Trent go above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome and seen. Whether you’re flying solo or rolling deep with friends, you’ll feel like part of the family by your second drink. And then there’s the drag. Phenomenal. The queens bring it every single time — fun, fierce, and full of talent. It’s one of the few spots in the city where the LGBTQ+ community and allies can come together and truly let loose. Come for the drinks, stay for the drag, and leave with a new favorite bar. 💅🔥

I've never been here, but I've seen loads of people exit this establishment, after having successfully achieving drunkenness. It's one of 5 fungible bars in LSU's dirty, dense bar strip, Tigerland, a mecca for college students on the weekend. No other place in Baton Rouge is livelier at night. Probably a great spot to meet people you'd rather sleep with than talk to. And if it sucks, you can always just check out the scene at the bars nextdoor.

I am writing to express my disappointment with my experience at your establishment. Last night, we returned a wallet to the manager and, by fate, encountered the ladies to whom the wallet belonged later that evening. We all went back to retrieve the wallet together. Upon our arrival, we spoke with the same security personnel who were at the door earlier. Unfortunately, during this interaction, David Facey approached us with a confrontational attitude. This encounter was quite surprising, as I did not expect to experience such unprofessional behavior. Rather than assisting us, he engaged in a heated exchange that was both unnecessary and upsetting. I would like to commend the security gentlemen who handled the situation with professionalism and understanding. They took the time to make a phone call to retrieve the wallet, which was greatly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to consider my feedback. I hope that future interactions will reflect a higher standard of professionalism.

It's part of a vibrant area with various other bars and late-night food options like Schlitz & Giggles pizza joint. The staff is known for being friendly, making it a great spot to hang out with friends. The atmosphere is praised, especially when there's live music playing.

If you're considering a night out at Tigerland Ave, be prepared for an energetic atmosphere that might not be for the faint-hearted. This lively area near LSU is known for its dive bars, which are often packed with enthusiastic crowds but may not offer the best game-watching experience. Instead of squeezing into one of these bustling spots, why not join a tailgate party?

Louisiana's Old State Capitol is a unique museum dedicated to the state's political history. This former statehouse, designed in a Gothic Revival style by architect James Harrison Dakin, resembles a medieval fortress with its towers and stained-glass windows. Although it ceased official government functions in 1932, it now welcomes visitors to explore exhibits such as the multimedia presentation on the ghost of Sarah Morgan, a Civil War-era figure.
The architecture of this building was amazing! They had a movie that is a must-see. It really gave you the history. It's only $2, so it's worth it. They have a room that gives the chronologic dates of the state capital. Very informative! They even have the Merci Train car from France out front. That has its own historical significance. Definitely make this a place to visit.

We absolutely loved our visit to Louisiana’s Old State Capitol! The building is an architectural masterpiece—every inch packed with incredible craftsmanship and attention to detail. The stained glass dome is truly over the top in the best way, casting colorful light across the ornate interior. We were blown away by the intricate woodwork throughout the space, and even the engraved door hinges stood out as tiny works of art. Some of our favorite features included the grand spiral staircase, the unique exterior pocket doors, and the thoughtfully curated exhibits. Highlights for us were the Hall of Presidents, the beautifully preserved 1861 hand-stitched Confederate “First National Flag,” and the delicate 1850 embroidery on display. It’s not just a building—it’s an experience that celebrates history, design, and storytelling. A must-see if you're in Baton Rouge!

Beautifully kept up, so much rich history in this building. I loves that you are able to do a self guided tour and take your time with each exhibit. There were two rooms, however, that seemed like they didn't belong there - the one with children's coloring over the walls was just not really fitting, but I understand why it's there - as an activity for kids to do...and the other with random wedding photos on the walls - my understanding is that they are displaying the wedding that have happened there? I honestly wished that it was opened on Sundays because I wanted to go back to the gift shop and purchased something - as they don't sell any of that stuff online.

We had the BEST time here. Our young kids loved all the children’s areas. The exhibits were so well done and the staff was helpful. Great gift shop as well. It is free and a great use of time!

We had the pleasure of attending/participating in a lovely wedding. The staff was exceptionally helpful and accommodating. It would be wonderful if the groomsmen's waiting area could be more comfortable, and if there were restrooms available upstairs, rather than only on the first floor.

This was an awesome site. If you are into architecture at all, you'll love taking a tour through this place. The staircase and the atrium ceiling were stunning. We got there late, so we had to kinda skip through it, but feel we got to take most of it in and enjoy it.

Jolie Pearl Oyster Bar is a casual eatery with a focus on oysters, offering them in various preparations such as raw, chargrilled, fried, or baked. In addition to their renowned oyster selection from the Gulf Coast and beyond, the restaurant also serves seafood po'boys and platters. The newly renovated space provides an ideal setting for enjoying lunch or dinner. Guests can complement their oysters with cocktails and live music for a perfect evening experience.
What a great place with outstanding oysters! We were craving fried tonight and Jolie hit the spot! It's kind of like a oyster sport bar if there is such a thing. I got a po-boy and the better half got a salad. We'll for sure be back to try out some of the other items.
Allen H — Google review
I would not recommend hosting a birthday dinner here. The limited menu provided, include menu items I believe the restaurant is not known for or good at. The Étouffée came out watery, the shrimp and grits had white gravy and looked like mash potatoes. The waitresses seemed very confused. Everyone sent their food back. The appetizer were way better. The salad and shrimp/green fried tomatoes. Why would items like oysters not be allowed to order, on a slow night while others were able to order oysters at Jolie Pearl Oyster Bar. The drinks and Aesthetics are nice. Do not - I repeat - do not ! Order the hearty comfort food !
ELITE S — Google review
Great location and service but the oysters are horrible. We had the ones with seafood cornbread and there's no flavor or moisture in that ball of bread. Hollandaise does nothing for it; there's no crawfish meat or flavor. Every layer of this was terrible. We had 12 and it was a grave mistake. It became a challenge to finish. I usually love oysters but this was a plate worthy of Fear Factor. Unappetizing is an understatement. I've never made such a poor choice with $33. Do not get the BAYOU OYSTERS. Bathroom was clean!
Sydney E — Google review
I’m surprised this location hasn’t been closed down already. We had one of the worst experiences in both missing food and missing service that left my entire group hungry and embarrassed for Jolie Pearl. We had a group of 6 on a Saturday at 11:30, where we entered an almost empty restaurant. The second dining room still had chairs on top of the tables, so we sat in the only open section by the oyster bar. Not a very inviting atmosphere. Evidently they were facing a severe staffing issue because after almost half an hour passes after taking our orders, no food was coming out and our server went MIA. We can hear a kitchen staff tell our server when she finally does come out the back that some oysters weren’t available, so the first item that came out of the kitchen were samplers of different hot oysters with some of them missing. I asked about the missing items, and it appeared she didn’t notice. They waited for us to notice before making any attempt to remedy it, which they chose to offer us only basic chargrilled oysters instead of letting us pick from the menu. The next food to come out were the raw oysters, about 40 minutes into service. As you may notice from the pictures included, they had been sitting so long in the kitchen that the ice had melted. I started to be concerned for food safety, when I noticed some of the oysters on the bar also were barely touching ice. They had neglected to maintain the items on ice as the hot summer rays beat down on them from the entrance. Apparently, they didn’t have oyster shuckers on deck that day and were trying to make do with two kitchen staff screaming explicatives in the back. We ordered some of each of the special raw varieties to try, and when I asked them if they could identify which is which, they had no idea. They sent someone over who read out the descriptions for us kindly, but just guessed alongside us which ones were which because the person who shucked them did not know. One of the special raw oysters tasted rotten and made both of the people at the table who tried it spit it back out. At the one hour mark, only a side salad and a cup of soup comes out of the kitchen, which at this point, we had had enough. Someone from our group had to wait by the kitchen door and ask for someone to make the situation right, when we were told no manager was on-site. She was at another restaurant nearby, so we had to wait for her to come in order to help alleviate our situation. When the manager finally does show up, she charges us for the few oysters we consumed and did not offer to comp the meal. It was about $80 for a combination of hot and cold specialty oysters. They also left a $330 hold for the entirety of the check for the food we did not receive on our friend’s credit card, which made us uncomfortable to leave a review the moment it happened. Overall, Jolie Pearl failed on all metrics to provide a good dining experience for our group, and when presented an opportunity to make it right, missed their mark. Missing, rotten, and misidentified oysters defined Jolie Pearl’s food that day. Missing staff and careless servers defined their service that day. A hostile kitchen and uncaring manager defined an unwelcome atmosphere. Right before leaving, I noticed a group of 3 who came into the restaurant after us getting their entrees before us, which really added salt to the wound that was our experience here at Jolie Pearl. No intention of coming back. It should have been closed that day, and perhaps for good.

This place could be 5 stars but fell short on a few things. Firstly the chargrilled oysters taste… amazing!! They are definitely on the smaller side. Half the size you normally get in Florida. I was only able to eat 11/12 bc one was roasted to a crisp. Wait staff wasn’t super friendly but I get it, everyone is due an off night so won’t hold that against them. If you want to watch anything on the tv while you wait they only have one Chanel which was on wrestling. The bourbon pecan pie was luke warm in the middle. Nothing to brag about and do not recommend it. The wait time for everything is really long and this was with maybe 10 ppl in the entire joint. So, if you’re in a hurry go somewhere else. Again, could’ve been an off night for the staff, but it is what it is and my review is posted. Takeaways, improve wait times after orders, don’t burn oysters when you’re charging 15$ for half dozen, stress the importance of being friendly to customers and checking on them. Don’t serve pie cold/luke warm.

The place is cool, the service and staff are very friendly and take care of you...but the Raw Oysters on the half shell that I had literally STUNK when they were brought out, (that should've been my clue not to eat them)and they were not cold. I put a couple on the ice but that didn't help. They weren't the right texture either. I ended up sick later that afternoon and night. My Bloody Mary was great! The Soup my friend had he said was good but he had some Baked Oysters that the name starts with a "B" and he said they weren't very good either...also commented on their texture...said they weren't firm. Mine weren't either.

Ordered the fried oysters dinner plate and though it was good, the Gulf fried oysters were ridiculously small (1.5 inch in diameter) and not enough to compensate for the price charged. The dish served in a bowl shaped plate with fries making up 75% of the meal. Though it may look like a fair portion of oysters in the picture, the fries filled the bottom of dish bowl. My initial thought was the oysters were cut in half because I've never seen full Gulf size oysters shrink up that much. However, it's possible I guess. Otherwise, the mojito and service were on point. Not sure if I'll order this dish again.

Louisiana Art & Science Museum (LASM) is a museum complex that offers a diverse range of experiences for visitors. The museum features kids' science exhibits, a planetarium, and galleries showcasing the history of art. One of its highlights is the new interactive gallery called The Seed, which provides hands-on activities for children. Additionally, the Pennington Planetarium offers various shows throughout the day, including '3-2-1 Liftoff!' and 'Supermassive Black Holes.'
SO COOL!!!! They had plenty of Egyptian artifacts to look at and learn about. They had an interactive science area with crafts and activities. The Planetarium area had an amazing movie section where yey screen different educational films

We decided to give this a shot since entry was free for veterans. We were pleasantly surprised. We got to watch a planetarium show on mummies and my kids (5&10) were enthralled with the mummy exhibit and my youngest cannot stop talking about how she got to see a “real life mummy”. We also really enjoyed the kids play area and are now on the hunt for a magnetic marble run wall like they had. I had to peel my son away from it when it was time to go.

I had such an incredible time at the art and science museum! 🧪🎨 There was so much to see and learn, I could have spent all day there. 🤩 It's definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. The museum offered so many interactive displays, making it a fun and engaging experience for all ages. Just a heads up, parking is easy to find on the street, but it is metered. Don't forget to pay!

I was surprised by how nice the museum was. The number of ancient Egyptian artifacts was stunning and there is even an actual mummy on display. Furthermore, the movie about Egyptian burial practices was both entertaining and informative. We loved it!

Really cool museum! We brought our 13 month old and one month old and it definitely helped with beating the Louisiana heat! There’s a planetarium that has short movies on the hour. We watched one about space and another about mummies. Both of which were engaging for not only the adults but even our 13 month old was intrigued. Military/Veterans/Fiest responders & family can enjoy for free which is a big plus in my book!

We got to explore this museum on the first Sunday of the month and it was Marvelous. I do recommend to get there early to get free parking and it wouldn't be full. Around 3 in the afternoon it got super full but we finished everything around 2-3 hours and we got to see the planetarium shows. The service was perfect, they welcomed us in and were super patient with our questions and they listened.
Yelile T — Google review
We had a great time here with the whole family. My little one LOVED the Sesame Street planetarium show and everyone loved the children’s section. We are looking forward to visiting again when the renovations are done. And I hope the museum will figure out a way to make ticket prices accessible to all!
Rachel S — Google review
Was looking to kill a little time and hoping to learn more about the city and it's historical past. The museum is a converted train station right on the river. I asked the staff at the check in desk for their recommendation on the best way to see the museum and any must sees and they basically just shrugged their shoulders and could not have been less interested in my questions. They handed me a map which did not detail what any of the exhibits were aside from the Egypt one, but was literally just a map of the building; not much help at all. I wandered around and enjoyed the exhibits but there didn't really seem to be any rhyme or reason for what was in each room; there was no cohesion. The planetarium offered a show each hour and while I didn't have an opportunity to take a show in, the attendant at the entrance of the planetarium was very informative and enthusiastic! Next time I will definitely partake. Overall, not a bad value for $15, especially if you're looking to kill a little bit of time (like I was 😉).

Steak house
American restaurant

Doe's Eat Place is a well-established American restaurant known for its casual and relaxed atmosphere. The Baton Rouge location offers a unique blend of Louisiana dishes, such as gumbo, alongside their famous Delta-style tamales and generously sized porterhouse steaks. The restaurant is popular for its gluten-free options and is considered a local institution since its opening in 1941.
Doe's Eat Place has become a staple in the Baton Rouge area. Their steaks and filets are delicious but you need to bring your appetite along with you. The smallest steak is 1.5 pounds, that's a lot of meat to put away. They have some of the best tamales you can find, and the optional Chilli you can get to put over them is FIYA. Staff is always friendly and extremely good at their jobs. There are other options on the menu such as pasta and seafood, as well as some of the best dessert biscuits as a finisher. Give them a try if you're on Government Street.

Doe's Eat Place, 3723 Government St, Baton Rouge, LA 70806. While my Restaurant Week review is slightly delayed, I'm pleased to share my experience. Following recommendations, I sampled both the tamales and steak. Although the tamales weren't part of the three-course Restaurant Week menu, they are highly recommended. The three-course meal included mushroom soup, a 24-oz steak with mashed potatoes and collard greens, and a dessert (the name of which I regrettably forgot). I plan to return to Doe's Eat Place to enjoy the tamales again and explore other menu items. #tonylameats #batonrougela #doeeatplace #doeseatplace #steak #tamales #restaurantweekbr

Always an excellent experience. I always get the hamburger steak for lunch. The side salad I get with ranch and Italian on the side because they are both so good. Not seen are the tamales which are also excellent and served with a homemade chili style sauce! The steaks are huge so I recommend splitting one if you choose !! They are well known for their steaks for sure!

The food was amazing. The service was great. The reviews already told me that. The ribeye was the smallest cut of it they had- 1.5#. That’s a big steak!! Temp was perfect. Seasoning was slightly bland- to be expected for the masses. The only reason for the 4 star- was price. It was quite pricey- I was expecting a price tag from the reviews, but I expected a percent, not a factor. The food was good… it just wasn’t $100+ good.
Warren A — Google review
Doe’s is extremely accommodating with an exceptional wait staff! The best ribeye & tuna steak in town, hands down! Oh, & don’t skip the tamales, brussel sprouts, or asparagus!! Truly have never had a bad experience. Highly recommend!

I've always wanted to stop here for a meal, and with my birthday coming up soon and this being restaurant week - I decided to stop and have an early dinner. Ordered their set menu for restaurant week which was a huge 24 oz ribeye with garlic mashed potatoes and nice side salad and dessert. They also had two other protein choices for the restaurant week menu if you don't want steak The ribeye steak was HUGE and very tasty. The only reason I took off one star was that it could have been just a little bit more tender. Mind you it wasn't tough, but not the most tender steak I've ever had. Still, I really enjoyed my steak birthday dinner and staff were very friendly. FYI, if you've never eaten there it is very low-keyed and casual. Will definitely come back for a lunch sometime and try their hamburgers and their club sandwich.

The 3lb porterhouse was good, but it wasn’t $139 good. Texas Roadhouse has a more flavorful steak at a fraction of the cost. The shrimp were pretty good, but again, in South Louisiana, you’ve got to have an amazing recipe to beat out the competition. Taste of LA Cafe shrimp are much better. The staff and customer service were absolutely amazing. 5-stars for them!

The Rum House is a Caribbean-inspired taco restaurant with $3 tacos and $5 house margaritas. It's a popular choice for packed crowds, and the variety of gourmet taco options makes it a great place for meat lovers as well. The new Baton Rouge restaurant from Chef Peter Sclafani and partners Kiva Guidroz and Michael Boudreaux is expected to open in early 2021.
We went for the brunch buffet. The weather was fantastic and the doors were open. Lovely breeze flowing through and great smells! The wait staff were attentive and friendly, the ambiance was relaxed and welcoming, and the food was fresh and delicious. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a tasty, chill place to have a meal with friends!

Went here for lunch with a group of 11. The place wasn't packed so we were able to get seated right away. For Appetizers: We ordered the calamari with special sauce. The calamari was crunchy and super delicious...and that sauce was bomb! We ordered Nachos and this was a great addition! Really flavorful and serving size was just right! Tacos: I ordered the Duck Duck Goose and Eggplant Vindaloo (vegan option) with a sweet potato waffle fries a for the side. Both flavors were amazing, the eggplant vindaloo had a spicy kick to it, which I really liked. I highly recommend coming here! Note* the 2 tacos combo with a free size only applies for Tuesdays.

RAQUEL M — Google review
I wasn't at all pleased with this restaurant; however, it's immensely popular so what didn't work for us may work for others. I'll start with the pros because this restaurant is pretty cool. Firstly, the decor is really interesting. I don't know if the building was originally a mechanic's shop or if it was deliberately built with 3 roll-up doors, but it's very unique. These doors are kept open as long as weather permits, even if it's quite warm or cool outside so be prepared for some humidity. There are 2 bars, a larger one inside and a slightly smaller one outside that has swings for seating (super cool). Seating ranges from bar-height, regular height, and picnic tables. There are large tvs for game watching. As suggested by the name, a lot of rum is served, ranging from inexpensive to pure insanity. The waitstaff is awesome. Our server was great, but random servers would also clear empty dishes from our table. I highly suggest you get the nachos. The cheese used is not the typical yellow cheese, but that only makes them intriguing. Be aware that a small nacho is enough for 2 hungry people. This is a family-friendly place, and all ages and demographics were represented when we were there. Now for the cons: With the exception of the nachos, we weren't pleased with the food. My husband ordered the taco trifecta with black beans. His tacos were bland, and while the black beans had good flavor, they weren't cooked all the way. I ordered 2 tacos and the Pollo Asada. The Carolina BBQ taco was okay. I was expecting the jerk chicken taco to be nice and spicy, but it could've been made with canned chicken for all I know. The chicken from the Pollo Asada had good flavor but it was dry and overcooked. It came with coconut mango rice and Jamaican vegetables. The rice and vegetables were so sweet they were inedible. In fact, everything was sweet except the nachos. The second con was the noise level. It was beyond deafening. We had to scream at each other to be able to hear. Neighboring tables were, of course, also screaming at each other to be heard, so there was screaming coming at us from all directions. I wasn't at all happy with this and combined with the poorly prepared food, I consider the dining experience a bust.

Update Dec 7th 2024 visit: Booked online without issue. We arrived early and we were shown to our bay. After setting up the game the ball dispenser did not work. Hailed an employee to come take a look and he tried to do a reset. The reset did not work and we asked to be moved to a different bay (they weren't that busy), the employee gave us a non-answer so we asked again at the front desk, they have a non-answer about moving bays. After 15 minutes of waiting I asked to speak with the manager, he walk away and didn't offer a solution, I asked to speak with the manager again and finally we were able to switch bays. At the new bay we encountered the same ball release issue, but after a quick restart we were able to play. We didn't receive service to order food for another 10 minutes and only after speaking to the manager again about it. Don't ask for a double bloody Mary they get confused and it arrives oddly. The Buffalo Chicken dip is more crusty and less flavor, the queso and macaroni bites were great. The manager made all the the problems right by taking $25 off our bill and giving us a $50 gift code to be used at a later date. Rough start to the experience but everything was great by the end. Still a great time with the family. Great time and good food. The drinks were good too. An awesome date night.

The lemonade tasted like mop water. Only Pepsi products offered. Tried the Pepsi zero and it was not good so I got the diet Pepsi and got charged for both. Whatever, you got me on that one. The boneless wings were served soggy. The cheese fries looked ok but the cheese sauce was harder than the times of 1939. The fries were tough on the inside. A credit card, phone number and email was required. I don’t like people walking off with my card prior to service with all of the fraud going on. Not laid back.

Came here for my son’s 8th birthday and couldn’t be more happier!! The food is delicious, the mimosa had me sitting sideways and the music was lovely but not too loud and obnoxious! Our waitress was very friendly and knows about the menu and the establishment! I didn’t play but I watched my boys having fun while I was sitting pretty away from the Louisiana humidity. There are fans blowing nice, cool air so my makeup didn’t melt off like it usually does. It wasn’t too expensive either since we came on a Thursday and it’s half-off Monday-Thursdays. Can’t wait to come back without the kids for a date night with my hubby! Bonus: They have Scott’s paper towels in the super-clean bathrooms! And if you’re an oily girlie like me those paper towels are super absorbent so you’re not walking around looking like the bottom of a pizza box!! 10/10 will definitely recommend

Greens look like a Baton Rouge street with all these pot holes. Food is consistently cold and service is worse. We got drinks with 44 minutes left to our game. Told server we would be ordering more food soon. Didn’t see her again until we had 13 minutes left. Obviously we didn’t order more food or drinks. We also had to chase down a different server for utensils.

Very good place! Sooo much fun when you go with a couple of your friends even if it's just three people! Love the atmosphere and the service here was good! The appetizer was AMAZING. Totally recommend to get it. It's the Mac and cheese bites. The only reason why I didn't give it a 5 star review was because I got there at 10pm and they close the bar exactly at 10. I wish the bar was open until they were actually open to enjoy a drink but overall my first experience was great! I will be back!! ALSO before I forget, I LOVE THE COOKIE DESSERT.
