Restaurant
Parrain's Seafood Restaurant is a local favorite in Baton Rouge, serving up delicious Louisiana seafood dishes in a charming rustic setting with porch seating. The restaurant is known for its delectable Gulf Coast seafood offerings, including classics like gumbo and crawfish etouffee, as well as unique twists like andouille-encrusted fish. On Tuesdays, guests can enjoy 25-cent oysters or indulge in boudin balls and fried alligator at the underrated bar.
I absolutely loved my first time here. It was pretty crowded but I now understand why. I tried a few dishes and they were all amazing. The hen and the dirty rice were delicious. The fried fish and the salmon were excellent choices as well. Definitely will return again soon.

First time going and lets just say they don't disappoint. The appetizers were all good enough to be entres! From the pictures you see the food taste exactly like you see it amazing!! Will definitely go back! Can't forget about the cocktails which were fantastic!!!
Darealsamson — Google review
The food was amazing. The atmosphere was rich and the air was pungent with many different smells from the food but it didn’t bother me too much. The blueberry cheesecake was fluffy. The chocolate cake texture was rich yet light. It was a little loud in volume so maybe some textile on the walls would help that. It was a lot of fun.

Awesome Aarya for dining out. This is a great location. And great atmosphere. We were seated quickly. Had a great server. One thing I noticed. All the servers were hustling maybe it’s because I was near the kitchen I noticed. Seem like a good place for young people to work. Food was delicious. We got the shebang. And shared the meal. Green beans were cooked perfectly. All the fried food was so delicious. We didn’t even need to ask for tartar or cocktail sauce.

We’ve been wanting to stop by for a while, but between life and kids, we’re just now getting the chance while in town and it was so worth the wait! Some of the best oysters I’ve ever had, and the seafood au gratin was incredible. We didn’t even make it to the entrées because the appetizers had us completely full. The espresso martini was perfection! We’ll definitely be making time to come back next time we’re in town.
Andrea M — Google review
A friend insisted I check out Parrain’s during my visit to Baton Rouge, and spoiler alert—they were absolutely right. So right, in fact, that I went twice! This family-style, barn-inspired restaurant is a true Louisiana gem. Despite the place being packed with families and guests clearly there for a good meal, I was pleasantly surprised to be seated right away. From the moment I sat down, the service was attentive and friendly. I needed a moment to browse the menu, so I started with a bowl of seafood gumbo. It was rich, flavorful, and generously packed with a variety of seafood. The warm bread served alongside was the perfect touch. For my entrée, I chose the seafood pasta paired with a side of coleslaw. The portion size? Very generous! I had dinner plans later that evening, so I had to stop myself from finishing every bite—which meant I had to return the next day. Round two included a taste of their chargrilled oysters, boudin rolls, and the seafood platter, which came with a sweet and creamy sweet potato mash that stole the show. Again, the portions were large, especially for the price. The atmosphere is warm, lively, and family-friendly, and the Southern hospitality shines from the staff to the food. Whether you’re a local or just passing through Baton Rouge, do yourself a favor and dine at Parrain’s. You won’t be disappointed.
D’Jillisser K — Google review
Coworker and I came in because the reviews looked decent and the pictures of food looked great. Boy are we glad we did stop in. We got in with no wait even though the parking lot seemed full and it looked busy inside. We started with the crab claw appetizer and then each got a fish dish. The appetizer was absolutely delicious and the sauce was the bomb. The fish was tender, well cooked and the light crust was perfect! Topped it off with some pecan pie and i can only hope that I have to travel through the area again so I can come back!
Aric S — Google review
Great Bisque, But Confusing for First-Timers: The lobster bisque is a must-try! I went on a Sunday and truly enjoyed the food (receipt and pics attached). That said, I’m giving 3 stars because—as you’ll see from my photos—the building had a completely different name, which made it confusing to find. As a visitor, it was hard to tell where to park or even where the entrance was, especially in the unforgiving Baton Rouge heat and humidity. I’d recommend the management consider better signage or entry identifiers to help hungry, curious travelers feel more confident walking in.

The Chimes is a lively hangout with a worldwide beer selection and hearty bar food. It's known for its energetic atmosphere and diverse menu, offering options like Hallelujah crab, shrimp po-boys, Grits N Grillades, Crawfish Omelet, Eggs Pontchartrain, and Breakfast Burger with cheese grits.
This place is the real deal! If you're in the mood for some great cajun food, stop here. You won't be disappointed! Sit at the bar and ask for Megaan! She gave us the run down and helped us try all the musts!
Christopher Q — Google review
Ate dinner here late on a Friday evening. The restaurant wasn't too busy but there was a decent crowd. I got the soup and salad. The shrimp and corn soup was excellent. They have a pretty lengthy beer menu. You are sure to find something you like. Have been coming here for many years and we'll continue to do so.
Scott H — Google review
Located just steps from the LSU campus, The Chimes is one of Baton Rouge’s most beloved local institutions—a place where the warmth of Southern hospitality meets the energy of a college-town bar. The atmosphere is relaxed yet lively, with a long polished bar lined with dozens of beer taps and shelves of whiskey, a few televisions tuned to sports, and the friendly bustle of students and locals alike. It’s the kind of place that feels welcoming at any hour, whether for brunch, a casual dinner, or a late-night drink after a game. The food at The Chimes reflects Louisiana’s comfort-driven culinary spirit. The plate pictured, crawfish omelet with creamy grits and a warm biscuit, captures exactly what the restaurant does best: hearty, unfussy dishes made with care and a touch of local flavor. The portions are generous, the presentation simple but appealing, and the flavors unmistakably Southern. Combined with the friendly service and rustic wooden surroundings, it’s easy to see why this spot has earned such loyal regulars over the years. Highly recommended!

Great food and selection Leans toward brewery food with a cajun twist fish gumbo was excellent so we're fried catfish and shrimp shrimp and grits... the star was the sauce and fried grit ball!! located steps from LSU campus This location would be packed crowded during school and football season! Interior nothing special except the cavernous seating!! help servers were top notch!!
GODZILLA P — Google review
Kevin was our waiter on the rooftop deck for dinner. We had a group of 7 from Boston who never ate Louisiana fare before, so Kevin brought us samples and we were able to place a few orders of appetizers and get meals to share and everyone loved it! He made this a great experience for us and we appreciate that. The food was just as good as the service.
Joseph J — Google review
The Chimes was one of the places that was recommended to me by locals. The service was great. Oscar made me the perfect long Island tea. He also recommended the shrimp po boy with spicy mayonnaise. It was delicious. I would definitely recommend The Chives to anyone visiting Baton Rouge. Love the atmosphere, too.
Chevy B — Google review
Great food and even better service! It was our first time at The Chimes, and our waiter Daniel was incredibly professional, friendly, and helpful. He took the time to explain the menu and gave us excellent recommendations! Everything we ordered was delicious. Highly recommend this spot, and if you get Daniel as your server, you’re in great hands!
Jaime C — Google review
We had an incredible dining experience at The Chimes that deserves more than just five stars! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and filled with that Southern charm Baton Rouge is known for. What truly elevated our night, though, was our server, **Ezra**. He was *over the top excellent*—attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely friendly. His recommendations were spot-on, and he made sure our table never went without. As for the food—absolutely amazing. Every dish we tried was full of bold, authentic flavors and cooked to perfection. From the seafood to the signature dishes, everything was fresh and beautifully presented. Whether you're a local or just passing through, The Chimes is a must-visit. Great vibes, outstanding food, and service that goes above and beyond. Ask for Ezra—you won't be disappointed!

American restaurant
Elsie's Plate & Pie is a popular eatery located in an airy, industrial space that used to be a historic post office. The restaurant is known for its sweet and savory pies, which are made using a special pastry recipe from the owner's late grandmother, Elsie Marie Campeau Rupe. The menu features over 200 dessert options as well as Southern comfort food such as crawfish and meat hand pies, seafood pot pies, and various other pie interpretations.
We visited during restaurant week. The $35 special menu included duck cherry hand pies with lemon green onion pesto for appetizers, a seafood curry pie, and dessert nachos or key lime pie. ALL of the dishes were excellent! I wish they would add them to the regular menu. The restaurant is almost always crowded, but worth waiting for a seat. The regular seafood pie is on the menu all my the time. Worth a try for sure. All the desserts are delicious. They offer full pies for take away, but order ahead around the holidays because the best ones run out.

I haven’t been to this restaurant since 2022 but they seem to have gotten even better. 45 minute wait was well worth it. I got the Diablo shrimp melt with havarti cheese and sun dried tomatoes. Also got the crawfish mac & cheese special, which was definitely the star of the show this time. Also got the crustless crab pie which came with a side of red beans and rice and also a salad. I wasn’t even planning on getting any dessert but ended up with the Eye of the Tiger pie with blueberry whipped cream, which was amazing. All around highly recommend this place.
Alex A — Google review
We dropped into Elsie’s Plate and Pie today and it did not disappoint! I ordered the Natchitoches meat pies with crispy brussel sprouts, and everything was absolutely delicious. For dessert, I had the Eye of the Tiger pie. It was rich, sweet, and the perfect finish to the meal. The food was amazing from start to finish, and the atmosphere was just as good. I’ll definitely be back soon!

Me, my aunt, and grannie LOVED Elsie’s! Servers and hostesses were very helpful and friendly and knew the menu well. Every. Single. Thing. we ate was so good. We ordered the crawfish queso and fried pickles to start. Both were a 10/10 and the queso came with homemade pork skins (which I dont usually like) and it was delicious. I ordered the crustless crabmeat pie with fried onions and a blackberry margarita (all 10/10). My aunt ordered the blackened catfish sandwich (8/10) with brussel sprouts. My grannie ordered the honey chop with the parm mashes potatoes and brussel sprouts with the seafood soup (10/10). We have zerooo complaints about any of our food & they plan on coming back when they visit BR again😂 Oh and the prices are great for the quality and amount of food you get! Blueberry hand pie.. DELICIOUS! Our server was a black girl with locs named Maya and we loved her so much <3!

Great place for lunch. We showed up right at opening and got a booth in the back. Order was taken an wait was pretty short. We got Carl's Tomato Pie w/ pimeno salad and a grilled 3 cheese sandwich w/ fries. Coconut cream pie for desert. Wow. Food was hot and delicious.
ELM — Google review
Even though we live close by I never tried Elsie’s before but I wish I did. Only hamburger my niece got was a bit mediocre but if you think about it they are not famous with that but with their amazing pies. It was her mistake not to get it. I got veggie melt and loved it. My husband got seafood pie and I tried too. It was really good. People were extremely friendly and cute. Highly recommend
Dee M — Google review
Fantastic pies - the seafood pot pie was sensational with a delicious crust and plenty of filling. The mashed potato was very good too. It’s a large place inside and so it was easy to get a table even though they were quite busy.
Yorkie P — Google review
Seafood pot pie was actually heaven. That Tiger Eye lemon icebox pie with blueberry whip cream literally stole the show! The handheld meat pies are a must try as well. I recommend the Natchitoches. Very chill vibe will totally be back.

Cocha is a charming restaurant located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The venue boasts a rustic and wood-hued ambiance, offering a Southern menu with locally sourced ingredients. Guests can enjoy communal table options and an array of delectable dishes such as Lobster Sliders, Peruvian Wrap, Criollo, and Green Shakshuka.
Staff could not have been more pleasant. Wine menu was extensive with solid selections. Our mains were well made with fresh ingredients, unique flavors, and the menu took great care to provide top-notch options for vegans and gluten intolerant folks. While I’m not vegan, the chocolate vegan ice cream was incredibly decadent and delicious. The website pictures made me think seating was communal; it is not. We wish we could move this gem to our town.

Really loved the food here – the vegetarian options were insanely good. Anne Louise was our server and she was super sweet. You’ve gotta try the jackfruit dish and the lasagna – delicious. The presentation was on point too!
Praveen P — Google review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Hands-down the best ribeye we’ve ever had! Cocha absolutely blew us away. My husband and I stopped in for dinner and ordered the ribeye steaks with leek purée, mushrooms, and asparagus—and let me tell you, we’re still talking about it! Perfectly cooked, tender, and full of flavor. That leek purée deserves its own fan club. We got the yellowfin tuna & rice as an app and it was spicy and delicious! The service was just as incredible as the food. Jess was our server and she was phenomenal—warm, attentive, and super knowledgeable about the menu and drinks. She made the entire experience even better. We sat out front, which was such a cozy and relaxing spot. The vibe was peaceful and inviting, and since we were staying within walking distance, we got to enjoy a lovely stroll to and from the restaurant. The cocktails? Also a 10/10. Cocha is the whole package: food, drinks, service, and atmosphere. If you’re in Baton Rouge, this place is a must. Five stars all the way! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Rebakah G — Google review
We went for brunch and it was wonderful. We sat outside because it was a nice day, they had live music inside that they were piping to the outdoor seating. Our waitress was very well informed and also patient as we tried to narrow down the menu. I was very happy with my decision but will be back soon to try more of their creations!
Peter M — Google review
Gorgeous space, interesting menu choices, stellar service. We went for brunch on a Saturday around 11:30 and there was no wait, only maybe three other tables were sat. I got a Thai julep that was bright and refreshing, my partner got some sour beer on draft that he liked. I got the Japanese patatas bravas, everything about the dish was incredible but the brisket was waaaay overcooked. It was dry like jerky, which was disappointing. The potatoes and egg and kewpie mayo more than made up for that, though. My partner got the pork belly sliders and THOSE were absolute perfection. Phenomenal bite. We would definitely go back for dinner or a weekday lunch.
Ashley E — Google review
One of the best restaurants in Baton Rouge hands down. Not only is their food and atmosphere great, their employees are fantastic like the owners. I had my rehearsal dinner there in the back room and all my family loved it. The food was amazing along with the friendly and laid back atmosphere. They made it so easy to reserve for my party size and the service was amazing!
Jackie W — Google review
Stopped in for dinner....didn't know it was wine tasting event night but they found us a table in the back. Dinner was excellent but it was a bit pricey (to be fair, I ordered a rib-eye steak - an off-menu offering). Cocktails are also a bit spendy but, to be fair, were very well done. Shout out to Bert for putting up with us out-of-towners!
Todd S — Google review
The restaurant is really cool and has great food, but I have given service 4 stars since it took about 2 hours to get our main entree last Friday! The oven went out and place was slammed. Also, we ordered steaks as a special. They were great; however, my 5oz filet was $40 and my husband’s 15 oz ribeye was an eye popping $75! I think the waiter should have warned us as it wasn’t written on the menu. Just sayin’.

Breakfast restaurant
Louie's Cafe is a beloved LSU-area institution that has been serving up classic diner fare since 1941. Originally located near the North Gates of LSU, it later moved to a larger location due to high demand. Open 24/7, it caters to students, sports fans, and loyal customers with its breakfast, lunch, and dinner offerings. The cafe has become an integral part of LSU tradition and is especially popular during game season.
Visited 05/27/25 We had the pleasure of enjoying breakfast at Louie’s Café during our Memorial Day vacation, and it was like stepping back in time in the best way possible. There’s something so comforting about a true old-school diner, and Louie’s captures that charm perfectly, from the throwback tables and chairs to the classic ceramic coffee cups with saucers that instantly transported us to simpler times. We didn’t order anything fancy—just the basics—but everything was done exceptionally well. The hash browns, in particular, had a unique spin that absolutely delivered on flavor. It’s the kind of place where every detail feels thoughtful, from the friendly service to the hearty, satisfying food. One of the first things we noticed was a group of older gentlemen gathered over coffee and conversation, which is always a good sign you’ve found a local gem. While we’d love to say breakfast is impossible to mess up, experience has taught us otherwise. Thankfully, Louie’s is proof that there’s also a right way to do it—and they’ve got it down. A special shoutout to our server (whose name, regrettably, we didn’t catch). He mentioned he'd been working there for a couple of years, and his warmth and attentiveness put the "H" in Hospitality. If we ever find ourselves in the area again, Louie’s will be our first stop for breakfast—no question about it.
Wanderfish — Google review
I visited Louise’s based on the positive reviews on Google. While the restaurant itself has an old school atmosphere and wasn’t particularly busy during our visit, the wait time for food was unexpectedly long. Unfortunately, that lack of efficiency really overshadowed the experience. I wouldn’t recommend this place to others, simply because of how long everything took. It’s a pass for me—more of a place to avoid than suggest. The whole experience felt like a 3-star visit.
R&E R — Google review
Louie's Café has been a cherished tradition for me over the years, and it continues to impress with every visit. This time, I indulged in their brunch special—Eggs Breaux Bridge. This dish features a savory grits cake topped with andouille sausage, crawfish, and shrimp, all smothered in a rich shrimp and corn cream sauce. The combination was nothing short of delicious.([\[225\]][1]) My companions also savored their meals, with standout choices like the Eggs Louisianne—poached eggs on English muffins with shrimp, crawfish, and onions, finished with a spicy, buttery herb cream sauce. The flavors were bold and satisfying.([\[225\]][1]) The service was attentive and friendly, making our dining experience even more enjoyable. I also appreciated the newer location on Lake Street, which offers more seating and convenient parking, enhancing the overall experience. Whether you're a longtime patron or a first-time visitor, Louie's Café remains a must-visit spot in Baton Rouge. It consistently delivers quality food, great service, and a nostalgic atmosphere that keeps me coming back.
Jackson B — Google review
What a hidden gem! Louie’s Cafe completely restored my faith that there was good food to be found on my vacation. The service was excellent — Tom, my server, was amazing and really made me feel welcome. The food was perfect homemade fare, from the delicious cubed hash browns with sautéed onions, to the thick, crispy bacon, perfectly cooked over-easy eggs, and a fluffy short stack of pancakes. Even the coffee was the best I had during my whole week in Louisiana. Highly recommend this place — it’s exactly what a great local diner should be!
Leroy C — Google review
It's a great place with great food. I would definitely recommend. I had their pancakes (awesome) an Omelette (awesome) Shrimp and grits (freaking awesome) Patty melt with a huge amount of crispy cheese hanging on the side of it. (Rediculously awesome). The only negatives is the wait to be seated because they are busy, a little cramped for seating because they're busy. And the exit ot parking will scrap the bottom of your vehicle if it is low to the ground. I would still recommend easily.
Sam C — Google review
Best place at LSU to get an affordable & fast breakfast! It’s been next to LSU’s campus forever & it’s definitely for a reason. If you’re an LSU student, definitely go & try it. It’s really the best bang for your buck & best breakfast place hands down.
Lexi L — Google review
This place was amazing. They were packed but got you on fairly quickly. The service was very friendly. The food was great. The prices were fair. The atmosphere was pleasant. Would recommend for a quick bite.
Melanie K — Google review
Dude this place is legit! Just what you want from a breakfast place, friendly fast service and amazing food. The hash browns are legendary and I now see why. I would eat those with just about anything! The eggs are cooked perfectly - over easy is the way I like them. Fluffy delicious biscuits, everything was fantastic! Don't miss it, especially if you're hungry for breakfast food. I will have to try it for lunch too!

Great spot to have a meal and hang with your friends and family. They have a great patio with ceiling fans to keep the air moving and keeping it as cool as it can be. The staff is really friendly and attentive. The drinks and beer are on point and the food was GREAT. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Also plenty of parking. If your visiting you should for sure check this place. As for locals, I'm sure they already know how awesome this place is =)

Best BBQ in Louisiana! The crawfish queso was so good, and they serve it with homemade pork skins to scoop it up with, as well as home made crispy fried chips. This place was amazing! Highly recommend if you're driving anywhere near Baton Rouge you stop and give this place a try.

I finally got a chance to eat here and i enjoyed it. The waiter and staff were kind and courteous. The food was seasoned just right, we ordered the blue cheese bib & steak and the brisket burger. Although I enjoyed my salad, I have been craving that brisket burger it was so good I almost tip the cook. The atmosphere was amazing, relaxing, clean environment, they greet you when you enter, say bye when you leave, everyone was smiling and no long faces. I was on a date so this was the right place for it, it can also be a spot to just have time to yourself or me time as I call it. Would I recommend this restaurant YES INDEED.

It was the evening that we were leaving our son at college and we were breaking down crying. Our waitress was amazing. She brought out their best dessert right on time to try and make everyone feel better. This is our second time there and not only is the food and dessert delicious, the service is impeccable.

Had an excellent experience here. Started with the Pork Debris Spring Rolls. So good. Then ordered the City Pork BBQ Platter for the entree. SO much food. Delicious. Didn't eat it all. Leftovers for several days. Would order again. We will definitely come back and try some of the sandwiches next time. Great service and atmosphere here. The music was also good. The Grateful Dead was playing when I walked in.

Sever was amazing, made a small change on my breakfast, not a problem. Food was delicious and a good cup of coffee. The lights were cool too.

Relaxing atmosphere but classy in a sense. Food was great from the appetizers all the way through the desserts and drinks! Service was super friendly and attentive. Great to bring the family out after work and enjoy a meal together! We will be back! Go check them out 🔥

Had lunch here with family. Food was great! I had the wild boar chile rellano. The staff was so excited about their perfectly cooked egg on top. It was fun. Had the bacon old fashioned - which to be honest - is pretty gimmicky - and I don't care because I got a piece of bacon. The drink was fine otherwise. We had some house chips on the table with some sort of dip that was great too (sorry dont remember the details). Would love to come back another time.

Beausoleil Coastal Cuisine is a hidden gem in Baton Rouge, offering contemporary Louisiana cuisine in a relaxed bistro setting with the option of patio seating. The restaurant serves up upscale seafood dishes with a unique blend of French and Louisiana influences, including fresh fish, oysters, shrimp, salads, soups, and small plates. Guests can enjoy live music in the airy bar while savoring brunch classics or more adventurous culinary delights like lobster and waffles.
Went here for New Years Eve dinner and could not have asked for a better experience. It was not too loud so could have easy conversation. Waitress and trainee were super friendly and the food was delicious.I want to go back already! Our tenderloin came out a little more raw than we would have liked for medium and they happily took it back and made a completely new plate. It did take a little time but they discounted it and we were also given two desserts. Highly recommend!

A perfect blend of coastal elegance and Southern hospitality, Beausoleil delivers fresh seafood, premium ingredients, and vibrant Gulf Coast flavors. I highly recommend the brown butter drum—I felt adventurous and swapped the garlic mashed potatoes for the dirty rice risotto, and it was absolutely worth it. Don’t skip the New Orleans-style charbroiled oysters—they’re a must-have during happy hour.

The ambiance here is sleek, sophisticated, and low-key—perfect for a more intimate dining experience. We visited on a Saturday and were surprised at how quiet it was, which worked in our favor since we reserved a private dining area for a retirement party. The setup was perfect, and the staff and our server were incredibly attentive, helpful, and thoughtful throughout the evening. For drinks, we ordered a variety which included espresso martini, lemon drop martini, champagne margarita (table favorite) and blackberry bourbon lemonade. I don’t think you can go wrong on any of the drinks offered. For appetizers, we tried the raw oysters, blue crab claws, tuna tataki, and brussels sprouts. The standouts were definitely the tuna and brussels sprouts—both were outstanding! Even my daughter, who usually avoids raw fish, went back for seconds on the tuna. For entrees, we ordered the brown butter drum, crawfish Mac & cheese, and the tenderloin. The drum was okay—nothing particularly memorable. The crawfish Mac & cheese was amazing-creamy and cheesey! The portion is very generous and can be shared. Unfortunately, my fiancé had to send his tenderloin back as it was overcooked, which was a bit disappointing. While the service and starters were excellent, I found the entrees a bit underwhelming for the price. That said, I would consider coming back just for the tuna, crawfish Mac & cheese, and brussels sprouts, and perhaps to try a different main course.

Business dinner with a colleague seated outside during excellent weather, great atmosphere. Service was ok, not bad but nothing exceptional for a higher end restaurant as the waiter seemed a bit young and inexperienced. I deducted two stars for the food because it was not exceptional, the fried oysters were overly salty and there were bits of oyster shells fried into the cornbread that made me almost chipped my tooth. If it was just one random piece I would not have minded but there were multiple pieces of shell. The beet and arugula salad was good, topped with grilled shrimp. The tiramisu was presented well but the taste left much to be desired as it tasted more like cheesecake.

We had a terrible experience here for dinner! First of all, there were several fruit flies all around the bar and dining area, no matter what section you were in. We ordered the seafood tower and chargrilled oysters and were very disappointed. The seafood tower was extremely underwhelming and not worth the $165 price. The chargrilled oysters were severely overcooked and dry as a bone. You can see in the photo only one oyster had any juice and the rest were DRY and tiny. We came because it was highly recommended but left hungry and disappointed. Only redeeming quality was that our waiter and bartender was great.

I took my wife here for dinner last week. The Crispy Brussel Sprouts were hard and sort of dry. My wife had the Hickory Salmon, she actually like the salmon, but the side was bland. I ordered the Crawfish Mac & Cheese (NEVER AGAIN). I was giving Velveeta shells and cheese w/o any flavor! The cheese was watery and the taste was BLAND! I also ordered the Provencal Chicken, it was just blah....The service was exceptional, but they don't cook!

I came to here on a Sunday after church for brunch. I can honestly say I’ve never had food so bad in my life. I ordered gumbo, it came out cold and the rice was so gummy they literally just put a gummy ball in the bowl. I also ordered a Cesar salad and it had wilted pink lettuce in it. The waitress brought the manager to the table and I told him to just look at the food. I don’t even understand how they even thought the food was presentable. The service was okay…? The team seemed extremely confused and out of it. They were not rude but could use more coaching on professionalism. Overall, I think this restaurant is focusing more on appearance and ambience rather than food.

Zorba's Greek Bistro, established in 1984 by Dinos and Polina Economides, is a charming eatery in Baton Rouge that offers a mix of classic and contemporary Greek dishes. The restaurant recently relocated to Essen Lane, presenting an updated menu while retaining old family favorites. The warm and friendly atmosphere provides traditional indoor seating as well as a climate-controlled patio area.
This was our first time at Zorba’s Greek Bistro. The atmosphere is nice, warm and inviting with simple and tasteful decor. I hod the meat grape leaves and my wife had a gyro sandwich. Both were delicious. Our server was extremely friendly and attentive as were all of the staff that we encountered.

Love Zorba’s… in the top 5 of our favorite restaurants in Baton Rouge. Nice dining room, bar area and courtyard… makes for a very casual and welcoming atmosphere. The staff is friendly, accommodating and helpful. Starting with their fabulous bread service and wonderful entrees… everything is on point. In fact, it is so good, we forgot to take pictures of our food until we were halfway through. Do yourself a favor… go 😉👍

Zorba's is a truly great place. We dined there often for many years and ALWAYS enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and servers! We often have lunch with friends these days, but we do not eat out as much now. Still, we love to order take-out for home, and the food is always perfect! A special treat for dinner. Sotos has proven an exceptional successor to Dino and the other Constino? Family that has provided Baton Rouge with GREAT food for so many years! A wonderful dining experience

We had an absolutely wonderful meal at Zorba’s Greek Restaurant in Baton Rouge, and our waitress Autumn made it even better! She was warm, friendly, and so attentive from start to finish. Autumn went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect — from recommending delicious dishes to keeping our drinks full and checking on us with genuine care. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented, and the service was truly top-notch. Autumn’s positive energy and professionalism made the whole experience special. If you go to Zorba’s (and you definitely should!), ask for Autumn — she’s amazing and will make your visit unforgettable!

From the moment you step inside Zorba’s, you’re welcomed with warm hospitality and an inviting ambiance that sets the tone for an unforgettable meal. The star of Zorba’s is undoubtedly the chef, both an LSU & Culinary Institute of America graduate. Her Cypriot roots, expertise, and passion for Greek cuisine are evident in every dish. The menu features traditional Greek dishes, each prepared with a modern twist and the freshest ingredients. One of the standout experiences at Zorba’s is their monthly wine dinners. Each course is perfectly paired with exquisite wines, enhancing the flavors and providing a unique and memorable Sunday evening. Whether you’re a lover of Greek food or new to the cuisine, Zorba’s Greek Bistro promises a delightful culinary journey. The exceptional service, the chef’s remarkable skill, and the wine dinners make this restaurant a must-visit.

GRAND SLAM TO REACH THE POST SEASON! This place is crazy good and has soooooo much to offer. While traveling through Baton Rouge, I grabbed dinner here probably a dozen times. The food is extraordinary! It's so flavorful and so fresh, it's ridiculous. You would imagine it's from some Greek family's kitchen rather than a restaurant. On multiple occasions I had the grilled salmon, several of the chicken dishes, the roasted vegetables (to die for!), and the lemon chicken soup. The food is fresh and super flavorful. I would eat here once a week if I lived in Baton Rouge. You cannot go wrong with this place. I highly recommend it.

Eliza Restaurant & Bar in Baton Rouge offers a relaxed and stylish environment to savor modern Creole cuisine. The menu features delightful dishes such as gumbo ya-ya, Eliza crab cakes, crispy seafood platter, catfish, crawfish etouffee, and wild mushroom and spinach risotto. This elegant spot opened in 2016 and has become a favorite for its uncomplicated yet delicious southern cuisine.
The crab dip appetizer was incredible and the entrees we got were good, but the gumbo was not good. The service was great, as was the atmosphere. Would recommend coming here and I will likely come back, but I wish the food was more consistently great throughout the menu.

We sat outdoors for our business lunch under perfect weather. Food and service were excellent! My coworker had to change our reservation multiple times due to some unexpected changes and the hostess was very understanding and accommodating. One of my favorite places in Baton Rouge and a must return. I had the fried seafood dish, by far the best fried seafood batch I have had anywhere in a long time! Fried oysters was done perfectly. The light batter was just the perfect amount with enough crunch and flavor. Will definitely return when I am back in Baton Rouge!

We made a reservation and got seated as soon as we checked in. Service was good but food took a while to come out. It was a little disappointing that there was no bread or anything to snack on before receiving our appetizers. The place is small and feels cramped, with maybe 8 tables in total and medium-low lights. We first ordered a small cup of the soup of the day to share in case we didn’t like it. The soup was lackluster, we added salt but it was still missing something. However, our entrees were great. I had chicken paillard and my boyfriend had the pork chop. My dish had the perfect balance of flavors and was exquisite. I’ve never had the dish before and it tasted light, fresh, unique and healthy, but still very filling. My boyfriend’s pork chop was thick, juicy, and full of flavor. It was served with grits and some vegetables on the side. Overall, the entrees are a winner and we’d visit again just for that.

alright, let's start with the vibe of this place! great mood lighting, beautiful art, and a great ambiance. we had the shrimp and watermelon salad, gumbo ya ya, chicken paillard, eliza crab cakes, and crème brûlée. Personally i didn't love the flavor of the gumbo broth, but i haven't had gumbo many times prior. The salad was beautiful but had too much arugula and not enough dressing, walnuts, watermelon, and feta. the eliza crab cakes were phenomenal. the crème brûlée was stunning but sadly not thick enough. service was great and our waitress was wonderful! i really enjoyed the basil cucumber mule mocktail, it was refreshing and light.
Savannah M — Google review
Dinner at Eliza in Baton Rouge felt like stepping into a quietly elegant celebration of Southern hospitality—warm, thoughtful, and deeply delicious from start to finish. We began with drinks that set the tone beautifully: a Watermelon Gimlet—fresh, fragrant, and perfectly balanced—and a crisp, subtly spiced Basil Cucumber Mule Mocktail in a copper mug. Later in the evening, a smooth Espresso Martini brought just the right note of indulgence. The Soft Shell Crab Gnocchi was a standout—perfectly crisp and golden, served over pillowy gnocchi with Lake Pontchartrain blue crab, brightened by pesto cream and sauce vierge. The Chicken Paillard was equally lovely: tender, pan-sautéed chicken with crispy potatoes, Creole mustard sauce, and a peppery arugula salad that brought everything into balance. Dessert was a perfect finale: a light, tangy Lemon Ice Box Pie with a buttery graham cracker crust and just a touch of hazelnut syrup—simple and satisfying. The setting itself is a study in understated charm—refined but never fussy. Polished wood tables, bentwood chairs, and candlelight create a soft, intimate glow, while the walls are anchored by a striking print from John James Audubon’s Birds of America—specifically, Plate 217: Louisiana Heron. This exquisite illustration—delicate in form and poised in presence—is more than décor; it echoes the restaurant’s spirit: graceful, locally rooted, and quietly elevated. And while the food and ambiance were exceptional, it was Amya’s warm, gracious service that truly made the experience memorable. She was intuitive and kind, attentive without ever interrupting the rhythm of the evening—a rare and welcome gift. Eliza is the kind of place that understands what makes a meal linger in your memory: not just what’s on the plate, but how it’s served, where it’s enjoyed, and the thoughtful touch behind it all. We can’t wait to return.

What a diamond in the rough. Charming, quaint, adorable outdoors patio area, and a crisp, clean, chic interior. I was genuinely surprised by the elevated Louisiana Cuisine presented here. I was impressed with their commitment to support local Louisiana businesses and even shout then out on the menu as their local sources. The waitress was polite and exceedingly knowledgeable about the menu. She also told us about a Mardi Gras themed cocktail available. Though I don't drink, it sounded like something that would be enjoyable to others. She also told us about the soup and dish of the day, both of which sounded phenomenal, but I had already made up my mind. The catfish was actually catfish (which, as you may know some businesses use tilapia or other cheap fish instead). It had one of the best shells I have tried. I had mine with lemon wedges and some stone ground horse radish infused mustard which somehow improved on what I already believed to be perfection. The gumbo only gets 4 stars from me. It was flavorful, and the popcorn rice was a nice addition, but I felt the ratio of rice to gumbo was a bit much and that I didn't really get much chicken or sausage.

Honestly, I was prepared for chaos, but the management was exemplary. They didn’t rush us or make us feel unwelcome—instead, they rolled with it and made accommodations smoothly and graciously. The food was nothing short of spectacular. From the tender, juicy rotisserie chicken and flavorful sides to the perfectly seasoned dishes close to home-style comfort with a touch of sophistication—every bite exceeded expectations. Our servers matched the food’s excellence: attentive, warm, and effortlessly ensuring everything flowed seamlessly throughout the party. If a place deserves five stars, this does. The food was OK with a menu that isn’t full of random stuff. Pretty straight at the point. We ordered the burgers and the cheese curds. The cheese curds were mid, but the burger was tasty. The only thing I didn’t like about the place was that the tables are too close to each other. We heard everything that people next to us were taking about. Also the parking is limited. You have to park under the bridge or something. But it’s still a decent spot close to campus so there’s that.

Enjoyed lunch with 2 other guest. Had the chicken club sandwich with brussell sprouts. Chicken was very juicy and sprouts were delicious with a bit of char. Other guest enjoyed their shrimp salad and burger and fries. Service: Server was excellent and exceeded expectations . Overall good place for a nice meal in Baton Rouge. Parking: is under the overpass as the name states and may be a bit confusing when you pull in, is an open lot style so park as needed under the bridge pillars. Handicap spots are close to the building and they do have ramp access. Outside seating is available but we chose to eat indoors.

Loved this place! Dylan was our server, and he was excellent. The food and drinks were tasty. I am especially fond of the fish tacos and the broccoli/cauliflower app. Will definitely be back.

We walked in and were blown away by the atmosphere. It was lovely inside. Our server was prompt and attentive and friendly. Good drinks. Cheese curds were very, very good. The main brunch dishes were all subpar with the exception of the kale caesar salad, which was very good and a good serving size for a side. The honey butter chicken biscuit was flavorless: the chicken was dry and had zero flavor, and the biscuit was underbaked and mushy. It needs more ingredients to make it saucy and full of flavor and texture. Shrimp and grits were swimming in sauce that was too strong of a vinegar flavor and the grits were very hard. The breakfast burrito was inedible due to the fatty chunks of bacon and the carmelized onions - they were sickly sweet like marmalade but also smelled really bad like sauerkraut - nothing resembling onions. The standard breakfast plate was fine, but again the grits were rock hard so weren't eaten. The hashbrowns were boring and flavorless. It was very disappointing because the atmosphere was so amazing. The bar area would be great to return to for a drink and cheesecurds, but we wouldn't come back for a meal.

So very impressed by this place! I am always weary when restaurants claim to be farm to table places. All of this food was so delicious and FRESH! Even my picky eater loved it. Highly recommend the cauliflower & broccoli. When ordered to go the next day (working here from out of town) and it was STILL delicious. Drum tacos have amazing flavors. Burgers are divine. Chicken club delicious! Grouper sandwich on point! Will definitely recommend to everyone. Thank you for a surprisingly great experience.

My friends and I sat on the patio, which worked out great for us (a party of 5). Our servers were great! They were friendly and attentive. The appetizers were amazing! The Tempura Fried Green Beans and Brussel Sprouts are a must!! The drinks were delicious! I didn't particularly care for the Chicken Pasta. It was bland in taste. However, our overall experience was fantastic!

UPDATE No. 2… really trying to like this place, but no luck. Went back today (8/10/25) for brunch and my order was hardly edible. Had the biscuits & gravy… biscuits were hard/tough, very little (if any) sausage in the gravy and the eggs were crispy and rubbery. Absolutely horrible. Sorry guys… Cool place / Horrible Food. UPDATE… went back to give “The Burger” a second chance. All I can say is “Nothing to see here”! Nothing has changed… our server was nice, but gone when you needed her, took longer than usual to get our food and then it wasn’t cooked right. We ordered 2 burgers, 1 medium rare and one medium… they both came out very “Well Done!” I would have sent it back, but couldn’t find our server. We shared our situation, regarding our food, with our server when we asked for the check. She replied that they were training the cook and he wasn’t “quite getting it”! 🤔 Well, that’s 2 strikes for the Overpass Merchant… really trying to like this place, but they are making it very hard. Nice little gastropub with outside seating. Inside is loud and crowded with a small bar area. Service is very good and the food was good. Went specifically to try “The Burger”… a blend of Chuck, Brisket and Short ribs. It was good, not great. I was a little suspect when I saw they owned “Curbside” (one of the worst burgers I had recently). Good cocktails. Nice place to go for snacks and drinks on the patio.

Sushi restaurant
Umami Japanese Bistro is a plain and simple setting that offers specialty rolls from the sushi bar and Japanese cooked dishes. It is part of the Magnolia Restaurant Group, which also owns Geisha and Sushi With a Flair. The restaurant aims to bring something new to Baton Rouge with its unique concept. Umami Japanese Bistro's menu primarily features seafood prepared in various enticing ways, making it a must-try for sushi enthusiasts seeking fresh and inventive rolls.
Been here a couple of times and this last time was absolutely amazing! Went there to celebrate a birthday and the entire staff was great. The head chef, Jimmy took great care of us and provided a lot of laughs while preparing our sushi and in-between. The sushi here is the best you can get in Baton Rouge in my opinion from the Sashimi Dinner to the Love at First Bite Roll, even the miso is top tier (my favorite in BR ❤️). All the ingredients tasted fresh, the drinks were really good, and just the overall atmosphere was great. Highly recommend Umami.

Got 3 rolls and desert Heart Attack Roll - 7/10 Dynamite Roll - 8/10 Sexiest Woman Alive - 9/10 Desert Matcha Crepe Cake - 6/10 (HOWEVER if you if you like matcha, you will love this desert!!!) Waitresses, Jocelyn, was great at explaining food items and was very attentive. Bathrooms were clean and environment was friendly. We live out of town but will come a second time :)

Tried a new place to eat and it did not disappoint. Service was excellent and the atmosphere was nice. The menu had many new things I hadn't had and different rolls to choose from. Also had a nice drink selection and a variety of mixed drinks to choose. Will be going back so I can try the other rolls and drinks.

Umami has been on my list to try for quite some time. I drove in from out of town, had a reserved spot at the sushi bar. Service was excellent, the sushi chefs were great. We wanted omakase and got the large sashimi spread. The lamb chops were probably the highlight of the evening. The sushi we ordered was sexiest woman and sexiest man alive. These were top tier and incredible. We went with a sake flight. The highlight was a Sakari Yuzu which I bought a bottle of. Not pictured is the chicken Katzu, a lightly fried thigh. When you come here, there is something for everyone. Oh and the Chiefs lost in South America this night for an added bonus 🐯
Luke H — Google review
Absolutely delicious and well planned Omakase. Hands down the best I have had across the states. The order and presentation matched the taste and made each set more exciting. Two of my coworkers tried Omakase here for the first time and couldn’t stop raving about it. I will be stopping by again on my next work trip.

I recently tried the sushi at Umami Japanese Bistro, and while it was good, it didn’t quite stand out. The fish was fresh, and the presentation was nice, but the flavors were more on the average side—nothing particularly memorable. For the quality, I found the prices to be a bit on the higher side. It’s a decent spot if you’re craving sushi, but it’s not a place I’d go out of my way to visit again.
Claudia C — Google review
This was a very hip, clean restaurant. The service was great. The menu selections were great. I had a blue crab and soft shell crab fried rice dish from the specials menu. It was good, but a little bland. Nothing a little eel sauce and special sauce can’t fix. My husband had a spicy ramen soup. He enjoyed it very much! We will be back!
Dawn S — Google review
We went for lunch around 1 pm. and were immediately seated. Everything on the menu sounded so good, so we were confused of what to order for a little while. We tried their spicy garlic edemame, snow crab salad for starters and both were really good. The sexiest woman alive sushi was a bomb... so good. I actually loved the taste of dipping the ginger they give along with sushi in the left over sauce they drizzled on the sushi. Then their umami fried rice was so unique in taste from any other fried rice i tried recently. We got the combo fried rice and their steak was perfectly done, melted in mouth. Shrimp was well seasoned and chicken was juicy. They had good portion of shitake mushrooms added in the fried rice too with a prominant taste from the black garlic. Ended the lunch with their matcha crepe cake slice and it was amazing, not too sweet but that distinctive matcha taste. On the whole it was a great spot for lunch date. Loved it, will be back again.

Seafood market
Deli
Tony's Seafood is a renowned market and deli that has been serving fresh, fried, and frozen seafood specialties since 1972. Located in north Baton Rouge, it is the largest seafood market in the southern Gulf region. The market offers a wide variety of raw and boiled seafood, including shrimp, crawfish, and crabs.
Tony’s Seafood in Baton Rouge is a locally run gem, offering excellent crawfish with great size and meat quality. The freshness and flavor stand out, making it a top spot for seafood lovers. Keep in mind it’s takeout only, but the quality more than makes up for it. Highly recommended!
Sam Z — Google review
Tony's runs like a well oiled machine, and employs a huge staff of friendly and courteous people. They have been in business for years in the same location under the direction of the same family. The product has retained the same quality through the years, which in Baton Rouge sets them apart from many others who are no longer around. I really enjoy the cafeteria style lunches that are served daily, as well as the boiled shrimp and crawfish when in season. Whether you are grabbing goodies to go or need large portions for events Tony's is your one stop shop for seafood. Stop in if you're in the area, you won't be disappointed.

Tony's is the best!!!! I love that I can pick out my own personal fish that they catch & I can watch them clean it and cut it up for me to go home to cook it. Amazing experience

You can't go wrong. I came here 3 times during my trip to Baton Rogue and lemme tell you the cooked food is top notch full of flavor plus the service is uncomprimised with plenty of seafood options to get you right.

Found this spot via Google maps on my way back to the airport. Glad I did. There was a line of locals out the door and well worth the wait. Food was delicious. I got the three meat plate. There is no seating because it is a true market with a to go hot counter. We simply walked across the street to Canes ordered two sweet teas and sat in a booth. Absolutely delicious!

My first time visiting and the next time I'm in BR, I definitely will go back! There's boiled food on one side and hot food on the other. Those crab boudin balls are delicious! I got boiled shrimp, turkey necks and corn and all was good! I also got a hot plate with fried fish and the fish was good, but we didn't eat the sides.

I recently visited Tony's Seafood on April 26, 2025, and I was appalled by the experience. I discovered a pest in my food, which was not only shocking but also deeply unsettling. As a well-regarded establishment in Baton Rouge, I expected far better in terms of cleanliness and food safety. Your customers deserve to eat at a restaurant that prioritizes their health and well-being, yet my experience raises serious concerns about the standards maintained behind closed doors. After reaching out to their HR department, I did not receive a response, which only amplifies my concerns. I urge potential diners to be cautious. I will also be reporting this incident to the Better Business Bureau to ensure that others are aware of the serious health risks associated with dining here. I hope the management takes swift action to address this unacceptable situation.

Before I visited Tony’s, I had never had a seafood boil before and boy am I glad I saved my first boil for this place. Po’ boys restaurant
Poor Boy Lloyd's is a casual breakfast and lunch spot that also offers dinner on weekends. The menu features a wide variety of Po Boy sandwiches, including options like ham, salami, beef and cheese, as well as seafood choices such as catfish, crawfish, boiled shrimp and oysters. In addition to sandwiches, the restaurant offers salads, seafood gumbo and stuffed crab. The eatery pays homage to the original poboy sandwich with historically accurate offerings like fried shrimp and oyster sandwiches.
We had a delightful experience at Poor Boy Lloyd’s in downtown Baton Rouge. The charming antiques and pictures in the entry set a warm and inviting ambiance. Ordering was a breeze, with a seamless and quick process at the counter. Our food arrived promptly, steaming hot and bursting with delicious flavors. The efficient service ensured a wait time of less than 15 minutes. The restaurant exudes a welcoming mom-and-pop vibe, creating a cozy atmosphere. Ample seating options are available for a comfortable dining experience, and if you prefer outdoor dining, the Florida Street entrance offers a charming setting. Overall, Poor Boy Lloyd’s is a hidden gem in downtown Baton Rouge, and I highly recommend it for a scrumptious breakfast or lunch.

This was a great place to eat. You place your order. You get your drinks, then you find a table. They bring the food out to you. It is a nice comfortable atmosphere. The food was amazing. My friend had red beans and rice that came with sausage and bread. She loved it. I head the shrimp etouffee over fried catfish. I had a side salad and bread. The bread was the bomb. It was brushed with butter, and it looks like it was placed on the grill. It had that crunch but was also soft. Soo good! The staff was great and extremely friendly!

Highly Recommend this restaurant. Take a step back in time when you walk in. Order at the counter and they bring it to you. Pay as you leave. We had adults and kids in our group. There is something for everyone. Chicken tenders with fries for the kids. Large variety of sandwiches were offered and ordered for the adults. Fresh sweet tea daily. I had an Arnold Palmer with fresh sweet tea and lemonade. The Fresh seafood Gumbo was amazing. They offered homemade red velvet cake. Everything was good!

My mom and I went to Lloyd’s Poor Boys for the first and last time. When we walked in, we were asked what we wanted before even getting a chance to look at the menu. We asked for a moment, and the man gave us a yellow menu. My mom ordered a Coke for me and a sweet tea for herself. He asked if we were dining in or taking out—we said dine-in. He said breakfast had just ended, and they’d call us when lunch started. We sat and were told to pay after eating. He eventually took our order. I got fried pickles. My mom asked about the seafood platter—he said oysters were no longer included. She asked about the oyster poboy, and he explained it was market price. When she asked if it could be cut in half, he asked where she was from because “they do that around there.” She said she didn’t know, just asking. Food didn’t take long. I ate half my pickles, she ate half her poboy. I saw keychains, asked for two. Then I grabbed 7 candy bars, 8 gold coin candies, and 8 Sugar Daddy candies. At the register, I wasn’t told the total. I handed over a card with $81. He said I still owed $10 more. My mom paid the rest. I sat down and said, “There’s no way this was $91.” We did the math—he overcharged. I politely asked for a receipt. He said I should’ve asked earlier—even though I had JUST checked out. I told him I’m Black, not stupid, and I can count. He told me I was making it about race. I asked a nearby lady if I was wrong—she said no. I asked for a refund for everything but the food if I couldn’t get a receipt. He gave me one, but it wasn’t mine—it was time-stamped an hour earlier and had 3 plates we didn’t order. He admitted entering candy as a “lunch plate” because I got 7 bars ($14). He said if I make him count, he’ll charge me more. I told him that receipt wasn’t mine and pointed out the incorrect time and items. He agreed to re-ring everything: • 2 fountain drinks @ $1.99 (but he originally charged $3.38 each) • 7 candy bars @ $2 = $14 • 8 candies @ $0.25 = $2 • 8 candies @ $0.50 = $4 • 2 keychains @ $7.99 = $15.98 • Fried pickles @ $7 (but he charged $9) • Oyster poboy @ $17.38 (market price) Total before tax: $67.12. He said tax was 10%, so added $7—bringing it to $74.12. But I was charged $91, meaning he still overcharged me. I told him he owed me $16.88. He threw $5 on the counter. I said no, that’s not right. He eventually gave me $11 more. Even then, it was wrong—because he’d already included tax in half the items, and the 10% he used was still off. What it should’ve been: • Drinks, candy, keychains, pickles: $46.96 • 10% tax = $4.69 • Subtotal = $51.65 • Add oyster poboy @ $17.38 • Total max = $69.03 We were charged $91—with attitude, zero transparency, and resistance to even providing a receipt. The man was rude, dismissive, and confrontational. I can’t support a place that treats people this way. And the food? Not even that good. If you go here, do the math before handing over your card. You might get hustled if you don’t. He still owes me at LEAST $5.97 I will say that the young man who works there was nice & helpful, when asking him to hand me the keychains. But the other guy, HORRIBLE business owner!!

**HIDDEN GEM** If I could, I’d give Levi's Smokehouse Burger more than 5 stars! Without a doubt, it's the best burger I've ever had in my 45 years of enjoying burgers. I often find myself ordering the same thing because it’s just that good! The service is always efficient, thanks to the friendly and knowledgeable staff. A special shout-out to Mr. Robert—definitely ask for him! And don’t forget to save room for dessert! His mom makes the most amazing cheesecake I’ve ever tasted. I recommend getting the fruit topping on the side so you can enjoy it plain first. 😋

From the hostess stand to the waitress Amy, the service was impeccable. We had the two egg breakfast, the two pancakes alone, and the three Benedicts-triple threat. Everything was delicious. It was so much food we couldn’t quite finish, and we shared. We had one of each Bloody Mary’s. They put bacon in them which is always my favorite part! Bathrooms were clean and the parking at 9 am on Saturday was easy. When we left at 10 the parking lot was full and there was a wait inside. Good place to stop in and eat. Highly recommend!

When people think of coffee shops in BR, they may think Highland or Garden District. Ever since I helped manage Frankie’s Dawg House, before Stuart sold it, I used to go into Magpie daily for the cold brew. I haven’t been to this place for 8 years. They always have the most attentive and interested workers. The best baked goods. Magpie is amazing still, after all of these years! The tomato + herb goat cheese frittata was amazing. Stef — Google review
Halfway decent food but the atmosphere isn’t worthy of it. I'm not even going to dive into the food really because it's irrelevant to how awful the atmosphere and service here is. Honestly, I had a feeling this was going to be a waste of time the second we walked in and drunk idiots were standing and shouting at the top of their lungs at the adjacent bar without being checked by the hotel or restaurant staff. I was right. We arrived at 4:50 for 5:00 reservations. The host table wasn't staffed until ~5 minutes after our reservation so we weren't seated until after our reservation time. He looked bothered that we were there and was not welcoming at all. We only received food menus with no drink menus. Our server asked if we wanted something other than water, but we advised we didn't receive a drink menu so we didn't know. He brought us a tablet with a drink menu on it only after asking and warned that they didn't have everything on the menu without going into specifics. How lovely. We were seated facing the hotel entrance so there were people standing around our table, taking pictures, and having loud conversations. A “date night” place this is not although that’s what it sells itself as. Do not be fooled; it’s an average but extremely overpriced restaurant in the middle of a busy hotel lobby. Seriously, it’s a small seating area cordoned off by stanchions and velvet ropes from the rest of the lobby. It’s not a separate area or anything, so people are coming in with music playing on their phones, loud luggage rolling on the floor, etc. Just terrible. To boot, this was booked as a birthday dinner for my wife and there wasn’t a *single* mention of it from the host or server at any point. I couldn’t have been more disappointed in that. Something so basic just overlooked I suppose. No restaurant worth its salt would ever let that happen. But it’s why we will never return and why I will never recommend this place to anyone for a special event. Ambience here is way, way off and there are better restaurants nearby that do it right. We walked out of here having spent $200+ including tip on 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, a dessert, and 3 drinks and we were happier to be leaving than we were to be there. Don't say you weren't warned.

Seems small but there is a lot of seating, just have to navigate through and find where you wanna sit.. we got a couple choices of hot dawgs!!! Were they the absolute best? Not really. But were the good, of course!! The best one we got was the morning dawg, lol a classic! But the flavor of it was awesome!! We need to go back and try more options but you should definitely go give them a try!! The lemonades up front were awesome too!!!

We love this place. We walk to it from the garden district. Its nothing fancy but if you just want a good hotdogs, tots and corn dog, this the place to go. Sat in the back and watched the game they had on. Love it.

A rare perfect review. The "situation" dog was great with tasty Mac and cheese accompanying a great all beef dog with bacon. The Frito Chili Pie side was also fantastic. The service was awesome and atmosphere incredible. I will be returning!

Review: 7.6/10 The sliders were decent, but honestly felt a bit plain on their own—I’d recommend getting them with cheese or a side, otherwise they come off a bit underwhelming. The menu is broad, which is nice, and the pet-friendly aspect is definitely a plus. That said, parking is a real issue. There just aren’t enough spaces during busy hours, which makes the whole experience more stressful than it should be. It’s something they really need to address if they expect to keep up with the crowd. On the upside, the staff was helpful and the food came out hot, which I appreciate. But overall, while it has potential, it didn’t quite impress me beyond the basics. I’d give it a 7.6/10, mostly for the service and variety—there’s room for improvement.

Good variety of hot dogs and other items. Chicago was a really good choice and fries were delicious. Group of 6 received food within a few minutes and everyone enjoyed the food.

Coffee shop
Coffee Call is a beloved coffeehouse located in a bustling shopping center near -10. For over 30 years, it has been a go-to spot for locals and visitors alike. The cafe roasts its own beans, ensuring rich and strong coffee with chicory notes. Their signature cafe au lait pairs perfectly with freshly made beignets or beignet fingers that are fried to order, hot, and chewy.
On a road trip with my family and just passing through Louisiana but i desperately wanted to try a bienget. This shop isn't far off the I10. They were busy and making them fresh! They have plenty of seating and a shaker of powder sugar on eat table! They were delicious. Piping hot and covered in powdered sugar. They were fully cooked and nice and fluffy. 4.50 for 3 is a steal!

My grandmother used to bring me here as a kid and I always loved it. I returned with my wife and daughter for a little dose of nostalgia. Definitely not disappointed. Same charm and quality from when I was a kid. Definitely my go to stop in Baton Rouge for beignet's and ice coffee.
Nathan S — Google review
Such a delightful café with French-style pastries called beignets — they’re absolutely heavenly! You can easily spend the whole day here; it’s a perfect spot for freelancers, collaborations, or just relaxing with a cup of coffee. The vibe is cozy and inspiring, and the beignets are out of this world. Plus, it’s open until 10 p.m. — such a lovely place to spend an evening here in Louisiana ✨
Zenaya K — Google review
Coffee Call was so good, I found myself back the very next morning! What started as a quick stop for a classic beignet and café au lait turned into a full-on food experience. During my first visit, I ended up trying the turkey po’ boy and a comforting bowl of chicken noodle soup—and I’m so glad I did. A kind server walked me through the steps of building my perfect po’ boy, which made the experience feel extra personalized. After that, I joined the line to place an order for the beignets, and let me tell you—they were pillowy, warm, and just the right amount of sweet. They were so good, I came back the next morning to grab another batch to take home! The overall vibe at Coffee Call is relaxed and inviting. The pace is calm, and every staff member I interacted with was friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, don’t hesitate to give this place a try. It’s a Baton Rouge staple for a reason!

Like the beignet here. But some recently visiting made me disappointed. I bought a chilli soup and I just want a bowl to heat it up. The cashier lady Linsey (I dont know name spell correct or not) tell me to wait for her to finish customer line (long line) behind me, then she will get me a bowl. This is not the first time she did it to me. Why she couldn't grab a bowl for me immeadiatly? Is is because I'm an Asian? Complained to supervisor and have the answer that they are busing so that they cant get a bowl. I have to ask another girl to get me that bowl. No respect, no come back
Cherry B — Google review
This is one of my favorite places in the world. When last I lived in Baton Rouge, Coffee Call was in the same shopping center where the Wal Mart is now. Obviously not that large, but it was larger. This site retains the style and charm of the older shop. Fresh coffee, beignets, hot chocolate, beignets -- the menu is longer than that, but without the tortuous specificity of that place with the evil mermaid. You go here for a good cup of coffee and a conversation with friends, or to read a good book, or work a crossword puzzle in the paper. There is no place like it in the world and I feel happier just knowing it exists. You should spend some time there, really. You'll be happier if you do.

We wanted coffee on our way oit of Baton Rouge so we stopped here. It seems like a nice local coffee shop. Everyone was nice. We had 2 coffees and 2 orders of beignets. The bignets are a nice size. They were making them as we waited.

Deli
Located in Downtown Baton Rouge, Anthony's Italian Deli has been a staple for over 40 years, offering a fusion of authentic Italian flavors and Louisiana influences. The family-owned deli is renowned for its delectable pasta dishes and famous muffulettas, as well as pressed sandwiches and homemade spaghetti with house-made sausage. With a cozy atmosphere and homestyle cooking, this establishment has become one of the oldest restaurants in the area.
My oh my!!! My favorite food is Italian so i came in judging everything really hard!!! This place was absolutely amazing!!!! I had the shrimp spaghetti, which was great but i could not stop eating my boyfriends Deli sandwich!! It was absolutely out of this world!! Now that i know the food here is good i cannot wait to come back!! & dont get me started on hoe friendly the staff was!!!! I love it here!!!! Thank yall so much!!
Maddie M — Google review
After a long day on the road, we were looking forward to our first meal in Baton Rouge, and Anthony’s seemed like a great pick. We love mom-and-pop places and enjoy Italian food, so the glowing reviews and long history had us excited. The staff was warm and friendly, and we appreciated the welcoming atmosphere. That said, we wish someone had advised us more strongly on portion sizes—while the comment “Y’all are going to have a lot of food” was made, we didn’t realize just how much. One Muffoletta would have been plenty for the two of us. We ordered the New Orleans Style Muffoletta, the Godfather, and a stuffed artichoke. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to our expectations. The sandwiches were average, and the stuffed artichoke was especially disappointing—it was so tough and fibrous that I couldn’t eat it, despite really wanting to enjoy it. I have fond memories of my mother preparing tender artichokes when I was young, and this one didn’t compare. One Muffoletta could easily serve a family of four with average appetites, perhaps with a side or two to share for those with heartier appetites. I do wish the size of the sandwiches had been explained to us, especially since we mentioned to the person taking our order that it was our first time visiting. We decided to give dessert a try, thinking we couldn’t go wrong with a classic cannoli—but unfortunately, we were disappointed once again. It lacked flavor and just didn’t hit the mark. We’re not sure if we just ordered the wrong items, given how many people seem to love this place. If we’re ever back in the area, we might give it another try and go for something from the pasta menu instead.

A buddy and I stopped in for lunch at Anthony’s Italian Deli in Baton Rouge, and it was an awesome experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the location is convenient, and the service was friendly and quick. My friend had the lunch spaghetti, and I went with the muffuletta — hands down the best muffuletta I’ve ever had! The flavors were incredible and the portions were generous. Anthony’s is a true gem, and I’ll definitely be back soon.

I tried Anthony’s today and was very happy with my meal. I got the pizza poboy and my friend got a turkey Muffoletto. The people there are super friendly and wanna make sure you have a great dining experience. The atmosphere is very family friendly. If you’re in the mood for some good Italian sandwiches, give Anthony’s a try.

Just wow!! This place is phenomenal! The service was incredible and the food was outstanding! The atmosphere gives a feeling of sitting at a bistro in Italy. I had the Italian Lovers and pasta salad. If I am ever back in town this will be my go to every time.

Ordered 1/2 muffuletta with a house salad. Counter service was very friendly and attentive. The house salad was delicious with the balsamic dressing. The muffuletta is very good, but if you’re a fan they do use a little bit different bread than you may have had at other places. Here the bread is thinner and crisp. I really enjoyed my meal and I’m eager to return and try more menu items.
Lee L — Google review
This place is amazing if you're looking for authentic Italian in the heart of Baton Rouge. I had a friend visiting from NY State. Muffalettas aren't a thing up there and he really wanted to try it. We both got one and it's probably the best I've tasted in this city. The man serving us was amazing as well! He's super friendly and knowledgeable. I've been living here for years and this is the first time I've visited here but it won't be the last!

Great little spot for lunch…the meatballs and homemade sausage reminds me of my grandmas Sunday dinners. The sausage was fantastic w that little bit of fennel that was just right …Meatballs on par with the sausage . The only real letdown was the dessert . The cannoli was watery and loose with no signs of mascarpone to be found anywhere . The split cherry on it was also disappointing to see. The cannoli shell itself being from Ferraras was crispy crunchy and held up to the watery filling as well as it could. Overall go for the Italians meats and meals they are well worth it.

Albasha Greek & Lebanese is a popular restaurant in Baton Rouge, offering a cozy space adorned with Greek art and serving up delicious gyros, falafel, and salads. The restaurant has been recognized as the best Mediterranean spot multiple times. They offer a variety of options including vegetarian dishes served with feta cheese salad, grape leaves, spinach pie, hummus, baba ghanouj, rice pilaf and taboule salad.
Great location with walking distance to several hotels, and the food ad superb! There were only two ladies working tonight, but the service was prompt and courteous. I will ill definitely come back again when I am back in town
DL — Google review
I had the chance to dine at Albasha while in Baton Rouge, and overall, it was a delightful experience. I tried the Albasha platter which included the grape leaf wrap which was just okay for me—perhaps a bit dry and lacking in flavor inside—but the rest of the meal certainly made up for it. The hummus was delicious, the salad was fresh with an excellent dressing, and the tzatziki sauce was right on point. The lamb kebabs, were cooked to perfection, and the Kibbi something I hadn't tried before—was unique and tasty with a crisp outer shell and a delicious meat filling. Albasha really stood out with items on the menu that I hadn't seen at other Greek and Lebanese restaurants, making it definitely a one of a kind spot!

Best place to get lunch near campus. So much food for a good price. I can always count on it to hit. I don't think i could get sick of the combo plate even if i ate it everyday. I usually just call in my order and then pick it up for to go.

One of the best Mediterranean restaurants I have been to. All the dishes are really good. The hummus is delicious. Good service and more than enough quantity. Place is 100% halal even though the serve alcohol. Please note : If you put one bill of 60$ or more then they put 18% gratuity tip by default. Which was surprising for us since we never came across such a thing.
Mohammed A — Google review
Great food. Had meatless stuffed grape leaves, gyro, and baba ganoush. My biggest issue was the temperature of the food. The stuffed grape leaves were all temperatures. A few were hot, a few luke warm and a few cold. Confusing. Flavor was on point! My gyro was not warm at all. Felt like it might've been sitting waiting on the server; however, the meat was just how I like it, tender and moist. Their baba ganoush was super yummy. I'll be getting that again as a take out order. Seriously super yummy. Only a few of the pitas were warm. Unfortunately, the server was lack luster. She came once to my table during the meal and the other time during the meal she called to me from more than twenty feet away to see if I was ok. Kinda of weird interaction. Made me feel like I was second class because I was dining alone. Foolish because I tip crazy good when I get a good server. I would've been if they had cracked a smile. The greeter who seated me was super and made me think it was going to be great service. I'll probably be back for some take out and avoid the service.

Superior Bar & Grill MidCity is a lively Mexican restaurant located in MidCity, offering a diverse menu of classic favorites and refreshing margaritas. The establishment is known for its generous portions and extensive selection of sizzling fajitas, spicy enchiladas, and mesquite-fired meats. Guests can enjoy their meals on the shaded patio while being entertained by live music on weekends.
I would move, to be closer to this place. No. Really. I live 2.5 hours away, and have not stopped thinking about it since. We had a party of 11, and the service was top notch. My daughter had just graduated, and they made a fuss over her, and sang to her. Thank you, Superior grill for making my baby's night even more special.

This is a fairly nice place but it's seemed a little over priced for a Mexican restaurant and service was kinda uncertain but come time to pay for the meal it was very unorganized, but with a group of 20 and each one trying to pay for their own can get confusing but the waiter kept giving me someone else's bill even after I told him what I had 3 times( taco salad with shrip and a large bowl of white cheese $50-60 total). Going as a couple or a small group maybe okay but I personally will not be going back to this place. Really wasn't impressed by the place after a 7 hour drive from Arkansas.

This is one of my favorite spots! Always has been. I almost always dine alone. This time was no different! I visited for the first time, last week, wearing my hijab. I was afraid I may not be welcomed. To my delight, I was treated as good as always! I seated myself in my usual spot immediately upon arrival. My waiter was Hannah. She was super sweet & apologized that she didn't get to me sooner. I told her I'd literally just sat down and it was no rush. I asked for salsa & chips & she said she'd bring me a water with my coke. She returned shortly after & I ordered my food. The server brought it out in no time. I was brought a to go box when it was time to leave. & everyone I'd encountered was pleasant, per usual. If you're ever in the area and want a good meal for a nice price, check them out! I no longer drink alcohol, but they have the BEST margaritas ever!!! I only got food of the chips and salsa! Side note: they allow you to swap out the rice & beans with French fries if you ask (although it's not listed or stayed on the menu as an option)!

OMG!!! One of the best experiences I’ve ever had. This was my first time going and I would definitely recommend this place to everyone. A friend and I enjoyed happy hour after work. We loved it. The food was fantastic. The music was great. The entire back of the restaurant was rocking and singing to the music that the band played. Also, no one rushed us out. In fact, they encouraged us to stay for as long as we wanted. And we did. If you want great food, drinks, music, and fun go to the Superior Bar and Grill Mid-City. I know I will. 🥳🤗🌮🍹🧉

I have heard of Superior Grill but had never been. I'm so glad we opted for Mexican on a Saturday night in Baton Rouge! The queso and salsa and chips were really good. The steak fajitas are out of this world delicious. And the Cilantro and Jalapeno Margarita was divinely spicy and delicious. The place was crowded but we did not have to wait for a table. Parking was easy and plentiful and the lot was packed. There were three birthdays being celebrated and they have a very fun way of celebrating you on your special day. We will be going back for more fajitas and margaritas!
Julie H — Google review
I have long loved Superior. I had an old friend from out of town so I suggested we meet here for its lively, colorful atmosphere. I found the atmosphere, however, seated against the back wall near the kitchen was not ideal as it is dark and only LOUD. We ordered and our drink was brought immediately. Our appetizer soon followed and then our entree. We had hardly placed our napkins down when our check was presented. We paid and tipped generously- despite not having any warm interaction with waitstaff. 10 minutes after paying, our waitress measly and quite curtly suggested we leave due to " long waitlist". I was appaled. I feel disrespected, degraded and terribly embarrassed. I have been dining out in Baton Rouge for 60 years and NEVER has this happened to me, EVER We occupied the table for 1.25 hours. I caution others, especially older ladies like myself.
Val F — Google review
This place gives me Papasitos vibes. The building, the white table cloths, nice silverware, and definitely the pricing. Unfortunately that’s as good as it gets. The rice, beans, tortillas, chips and salsa are all very basic. No way this didn’t come off a Sysco truck. I ordered the lunch special Mesquite Fajita. The fajita was actually very tender. No complaints there. But, the mesquite flavor was minimal and barely noticeable. Service was a little disjointed. As nice as the staff was, I’m not seeing a return visit in my future.

The restaurant is known for its authentic Louisiana-style bar and Cajun food. It has its roots in Baton Rouge with the first location near Tiger Stadium.
Last minute decision to stop at Walk-On’s and wow, what a great call! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and seated quickly despite the busy crowd. The atmosphere was energetic but comfortable, with plenty of TVs to catch the game without feeling overwhelming. Our server, Meadow, was incredibly friendly, attentive, and gave us some great recommendations. We tried the Death Valley drinks and the hot honey wings. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in what they do. Drinks were strong, prices were great, and the entire experience felt like a win. Whether you’re in for a casual night out like we were, or just catching a bite on the road, Walk-On’s hits the mark. Definitely adding this spot to the favorites list!

I had the Voodoo shrimp and grits. They were delicious! Bacon wrapped shrimp on top was perfect while the cheese grits were a little basics overall, I’d definitely have them again. Went to Walk-On’s on Burbank and had a great experience. Our server Jacob P. really stood out he set the tone for the whole visit. From the start he was upbeat and welcoming as most gingers are, made my close friends feel at home, and had great recommendations on what to order. We could tell he knew the menu well, and he was quick to share his favorites without being overbearing. Throughout the meal, Jacob was on point drinks never sat empty, food came out a little later than we could expect but Jacob checked in at the perfect times. He even cracked a few jokes with us, which made the experience feel more personal and fun instead of just another dinner out. The food itself was “mid” but honestly, the service from Jacob made the night. When you have someone who actually enjoys what they’re doing and treats you like more than just another table, it makes a difference. JP U ROCK!

Red Zeppelin Pizza is a popular pizzeria in Baton Rouge, known for its colorful surroundings and delicious offerings. It competes with other local concepts and has gained a strong following for its thin-crust pizzas that can hold an array of toppings. The restaurant offers a rock 'n' roll twist to its specialty pizzas, calzones, and sandwiches, creating a unique dining experience. With an outdoor patio and local craft beers on tap, it's become a favorite hangout spot.
This is a must try place. It’s thin crust pizza and really cool pizza choices on the menu. I love the “Bou Ray” pizza (boudin!!). The wait staff is some of the best around. The service is quick and personable. The pizza is amazing - just don’t forget to try the cheese breads as well!!

Ordered pepperoni slices since it was my first time trying it out and didn't want to order a whole pie. It was baked the way I wanted without asking for it to be well done. The only small thing I can say is that pepperoni was too crisp and shriveled up for my liking. It still tasted decent. Other than that I would highly recommend for good customer service and good vibes.

On Tuesday 4-8-25, about 6PM, my friend and I visited Red Zeppelin for the first time. We chose to sit outside since it was a beautiful day. The server, Olive, was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. We ordered jalapeno bread and a Mamma Mia pizza to share. Both were good. Could have used a little more cheese on the pizza, but it was good. Also, the pizza crust was very thin and crunchy, which is a little hard to chew. Would have liked options for the crust. Overall, it was a great experience and will probably go again!

Honestly pretty good food and great atmosphere. Sandwich was really good and pretty large. Their pizza was thin crust and perfectly cooked with plenty of toppings! Plenty of beer/ wine / spirits to choose from to go with your order if wanting. Garlic and cheese breads were both tasty and crunchy!

If you're looking for a quiet place, this isn't it. It's pretty loud, from music and people talking, but the atmosphere is cute and everyone is friendly. I ordered to go, but got a $5 mimosa while I waited. The waitress/bartender went grab a new bottle because when she first poured, the champagne looked flat. It isn't cheap (I spent $49 on a 14 inch meat pizza with 2 additional toppings, onions and jalapeños for $3, plus 10 wings), but it's super cool and apparently people love it because they're starting to roll in. Everything is made to order.

Had a great meal recently at this iconic Baton rouge pizza joint, we came at lunch time on a Saturday and were pleased with everything about our visit from the atmosphere being close to LSU to the service that was second to none ( our server Lauren was like a pizza wizard knowing every detail and quirky question we asked of her), and the actual pizza was a solid 9 out of 10 on our scale. We went for the vegetable pizza and the Greek one and tho toppings were so.e of the freshest I've ever had!! 100% recommended and will visit again for sure

Delicious Led Zepplin themed specialty menu, make your own with large topping selections including anchovies!!! No high-end toppings like goat cheese, but great for what it is! Super great pizza! Crust comes on the thin side. We split a Mothership, Hummus, & Jalapeño cheezy bread. Alcoholic drinks available & beer. Local Louisiana Abita is always a great choice.

The service is exceptional! Nice atmosphere. Perhaps ai chose the wrong food but it was very average. Black beans were really good. Chicken enchiladas (meat and wraps) were quite dry as was the rice. Margarita was a little sweet for my taste.

We had the best experience at Tio’s recently (and as always). We had a large party of 30. The management and staff were so attentive and made sure our experience was perfect! They went above and beyond. The food was amazing and the service was top notch! Thank you Robert and everyone at Tio’s that made our party so awesome!

We stopped in at Tio Javi’s and were blown away by how fresh and flavorful everything was. I had the burrito done chimichanga style—crispy on the outside, stuffed with savory goodness inside—and it hit all the right notes. The chicken quesadilla was another standout: perfectly grilled, generously filled, and served hot and melty. The service was friendly and the atmosphere felt welcoming without trying too hard. It’s clear they care about the food and the people. Whether you're craving Tex-Mex comfort food or just want a solid spot for lunch or dinner, this place delivers. We'll definitely be back!

The food was delicious. The handmade tortillas were phenomenal. Our server Kamryn was outstanding as well. My dish was a little pricier than I normally spend for a lunch dish, but I ate on it twice and it was so good that it was worth it to me.

Went here for a business lunch. Food was very good. The green sauce and salsa they bring out with the chips are both excellent. I especially love the green! Best tortillas I've ever had. They are handmade throughout the day everyday right in the front where you can watch. I had the steak and chicken fajitas which were excellent. The person I was having lunch with had steak tacos which he seemed to enjoy. He ate everything.

I celebrated my birthday here with a party of 10, and everything from start to finish was beyond amazing! When I called to make the reservation, the girl who helped me was incredibly sweet and made the process so easy! When we arrived, our table was already set up and waiting for us. The drinks, the food, and the overall service were top-tier. Huge shoutout to our server, Angel, who was absolutely phenomenal! And big thanks to Robert and Holly at the front for being so warm and accommodating. The entire staff goes above and beyond to make you feel special and taken care of. You can truly feel the pride they take in creating an unforgettable experience. Thank you all so much—you made my birthday unforgettable. Love you guys!

The people are all friendly and helpful. The portions are very large! The seafood stuffed potatoes are crazy good! Don't forget the Cajun donuts for dessert - covered with white chocolate. You can't go wrong here!

Great place to eat. I think our table was too small for all the food we ordered lol This was another referral and it was everything I was told. The food was so good. The restaurant doesn’t look that big but there are other sections inside. I had a ribeye, mother had the Cajun snapper, sis had pasta and my neecy had the seafood potato as our main course. Delicious Deliciousness. We plan to go back again and I can’t wait.

First time for dinner today! We had 5 lbs of crawfish with a few potatoes and corn. We also had the Louisiana toast(not pictured) that was very flavorful and came out hot so really good! Also the sweet tea is 👌🏻 We had us two adults and our 4 kids, they do charge gratuity for 6 or more whether or not they are kiddos. The gratuity was not a big deal for us but just wanted to let others know that might have larger families. Overall the service was great, it’s not loud, just the right amount of sound not overwhelming.

Indulge in their signature offerings like gumbo, jambalaya, and a unique culinary marvel featuring deboned chicken stuffed into a deboned duck, which is then nestled inside a deboned turkey!
My boyfriend and I visited here first thing after our drive from San Diego and it was the best place we dined on the entirety of the trip. The employees were beyond kind and made us feel as if we were at home. Exemplary service and the food was fantastic (And very budget friendly). Out of all of the restaurants I have been to in Louisiana, I would rate Bellue’s the highest and will definitely be coming back. TDLR: Must visit.

Oh my gosh, what a wonderful experience. The staff was very welcoming like we were their own family. Every customer received the same greeting. The food was outstanding. We had the a fried boudin link, Crawfish Etouffé Supreme w/ fish and shrimp, and Turducken. The fish was perfectly cooked. The sides we had were white beans, red beans, yams, and the cornbread dressing came with both meals. The yams and white beans especially stood out. I recommend 100% that if you live in Baton Rouge or are visiting that you try this place.

An absolute Cajun gem right across the street from the ExxonMobil Chemical Plant in Baton Rouge. They have a large swath of the best of the best Cajun foods and desserts that will knock your socks off. I tried the Shrimp Creole, after getting a sample from the manager. It was their special of the day and I highly recommend it. I also had them add fried shrimp to it as well. The staff will do whatever they can to make you happy and they add a personal touch to the whole experience. They were very attentive to their customer needs. I highly recommend this restaurant! So glad I was able to eat here.

Passing through Baton Rouge and looked up something for lunch and this little shop popped up with a 4.8 star review and my husband was like gotta try it out! OMGOODNESS so yummy... I played it safe with fried fish and shrimp broccoli rice casserole and Mac and cheese.... Casserole was the best fish and shrimp season and cooked perfectly, Mac and cheese really good seasoning. My son got the shrimp fettuccine and he devoured it! Definitely will be stopping by again in 3 months when we have to come back for work!

Hands down the best food i ate while in Baton Rouge and New Orleans. The crawfish etouffee was absolutely amazing served over cornbread dressing. And the white beans...best white beans I've ever had! Excellent comfort food and friendly staff. We got gumbo, chicken and sausage jambalaya and crawfish pies. (And a bread pudding!) The food came out fast and 1 sampler plate was plenty of food for 2 people. We spent less than $25 for dinner for 2 including tip!

Small family run business, that treat you like family. Best Gumbo and Jambalaya in Louisiana. Delicious daily lunch specials, freshly made sides, salads, desserts. Friendliest staff, always clean relaxing and inviting. I visit every week, for over a decade now. You’ll become a regular, after trying the best Cajun creole in Baton Rouge!!!

It’s always a hit and miss for a good gumbo, but the chicken and sausage here was great! Bread pudding was delicious and husband loved the jambalaya! Also, Our servers were very friendly and understanding to a spilled drink from my daughter. 5 stars from us.
Tammi H — Google review
I normally always have a great experience and the food is delicious but I left a smaller tip this time and when I got my food to go they didn’t take the same care and my gumbo was all over my food. That’s the first time this has happened. I wondered if it was because I left a smaller tip on my to go order.
Penny D — Google review
I guess the corn bread was pretty good. The “seafood gumbo” was all gumbo, no seafood unless you count a couple of baby mushy shrimp. I was shown bowls to see the comparison of sizes of sides, then when I got my food, no bowl. Just a cafeteria plate. Pretty underwhelming for a Cajun place IN Louisiana.
Rick M — Google review
Now granted they were about to close, but that should not matter. We had the shrimp fettuccine. This was the special on Friday. The shrimp tasted freezer burnt and boiled if there is such a thing. The cheese sauce was yellow and had ok flavor. The red beans and rice were sub par the green beans were spicy and eatable. Now the banana pudding was good it was not homemade, but it was good. I don’t know if I came on an off night or if I chose the wrong dish. I had high hopes that this was going to be my new cozy browns. For those who have never been to Prichard/8 mile Alabama there is a resturaunts called cozy browns try it and you will thank me later.

Nicole was phenomenal! So professional and kind. Very attentive. The restaurant week menu is very good. The pork was mid - but if you like a roast you’ll love it. It has that flavor pallet for SURE. Falls off the BONE. The tiramisu was some of the best I’ve had - let alone in Baton Rouge.

Excellent Italian food and the service is exceptional. Waitress was very personable and kept us engaged in conversation throughout our dining experience. Not really for the t-shirt and jeans or shorts crowd. Wonderful decor, semi dressy, great background music, and plenty of parking available. Another phenomenal option on Jefferson.

My husband and I were on a date night and were craving Italian food. We looked at our options locally and neither of us were familiar with La Contea Italiano Ristorante but the menu looked great, we were hungry and there were wait time at that moment. La Contea Italiano Ristorante far exceeded our expectations! The food and cocktails were amazing, lovely atmosphere, and service was impeccable! Very nice experience in this family owned/operated Italian restaurant. Chef Alfred Kulici opened La Contea in 2017 and created a very welcoming atmosphere in this nice upscale restaurant. The cuisine is very good with excellent and attentive service. The menu consists of traditional Italian dishes as well as steak and seafood. We had Blackened red fish with lump crab hollandaise and traditional Veal Parmigiana. Both were very good and accompanied with a Sensation salad and side of pasta. Excellent and extensive wine list as well as a full service bar.

This place has a nice atmosphere and friendly staff. I had a soup, sensation salad and the seafood manicotti. The soup was delicious, but the salad and manicotti were lacking. The manicotti was missing something that I can't quite put my finger on. I would try this place again, but order a different entrée.

Curbside Burgers is a popular spot known for its mouthwatering burgers and variety of milkshake flavors, including adult versions. The former food truck now has a family-friendly brick-and-mortar location on Government Street, offering unbeatable specials on weeknights and a cool patio with movies, games, and live music. Their signature Double KGB burger features two types of beef smothered in cheddar cheese, topped with a fried egg and Praline Bacon.
I’m visiting Baton Rouge and while here I wanted to support a fun spot for lunch, Curbside Burgers did not disappoint. The store was clean. The food was delicious. And, in addition, the staff was very friendly. I hope to come back when I can enjoy the back patio. So glad I stopped in.

Firstly, the staff is very friendly. They helped my family and were patient. The food was really good. I got a BBQ burger, my wife got a burger with the egg, and my son got chicken nuggets. I got a side of tots and my son got a shake. The burgers were delicious. The meat isn't great, but it's standard burger. They make up for it in toppings. The burgers tasted great. My wife loved her burger, especially with the over easy egg. My son loved his chicken tenders, which were not the frozen, corn starch breading. They had home made flower breading. The tots were fantastic. They were crunchy and soft inside. Cooked perfectly. My son really loved the shake as well. It was very delicious. Overall, we were very satisfied with this restaurant and when we return to Baton Rouge, we will eat at this restaurant.
Ryan B — Google review
I’ve been here twice and the first time was great. Didn’t take long to get my food and it tasted great. Love the outdoor set up. When I came back a second time I ordered my food to go and when I got ready to eat the tots, I was missing the cheese and all the bacon was at the bottom of the container. Not sure what happened there.
Alex S — Google review
It's been awhile, but I visited the site to determine that I was coming here for the Smokin Joe burger. The last time I got the potato tots and decided on the fries tonight. The meal came out lookin good. The burger was fantastic 😋 But, I shouldn't order fries. I got the leftover ones from previous orders 😟 I was very peeved to have a hot burger with cold fries. The kitchen staff messed up. That's why I hated tipping before getting my food because I wouldn't have been generous! It would have been Zero. They cooked me fresh ones. So, I got fresh fries with a cold Badass burger and that was very tasty with I thought was half a pound of bacon and pile of crisp onions, cheesy cheddar with a good Bar B Que sauce. HOWEVER, management redeemed themselves with Awesome customer service. There is no better than being a Satisfied customer with a Great dinner gone bad. They get a 5 ✨️ rating in my Satisfaction walking out with a delicious chocolate milkshake. Heads up, the whip topping was disappointing. It would be better without it.
Shannon — Google review
Stay away. This place is past it's prime. I will start with the wife and I were served two cold hamburgers. That should be the end of the review. But there is more, barely cool draft beer, bacon you couldn't bite through and barely warm tots. Not to mention served cold burgers. Bathroom had a grimy feel to it and the tv at the bar is hanging crooked. Add to the fact that when we ordered a drink at the counter, the person taking the order told us they would try and find someone to serve our drinks. I won't be back and you should stay away.

Zeeland Street is a beloved local institution in the heart of Mid City, Baton Rouge. This bustling hotspot offers classic breakfast fare and daily soul food plate lunches. Established in 1989 by Stephanie Phares, it's known for its scratch-made Southern dishes like pot roast, smoked brisket, and Southern vegetable plates. The Zeeland Slam is a popular breakfast choice featuring cheddar cheese grits, buttermilk pancakes, bacon, and eggs cooked to perfection.
The food was delicious. The service was good. The story of the 30+ year old restaurant was captivating! What I noticed about my order, an omelette with hash browns and toast, is that it wasn't greasy or overcooked. It was perfect in the amount, the flavor, and the preparation. Even though some of the LSU football team ordered meals before us, we still got our food in a timely manner. I'll eat here again next time I'm in BR.

Zeeland street market is excellent. A definite staple in the garden district. They do a ton of business at lunch and never disappoint. The Pecan smoke brisket is tender and juicy, the yams are sweet and delicious, and the cabbage tastes like grandma's kitchen. Can't say I've ever had anything I was disappointed with. Do yourself a favor and stop in.

Why have I not been to this place before??? This is a MUST stop for everyone even remotely close to the area. The food was absolutely PHENOMENAL!!! The cornbread dressing just may have been the BEST i have ever had…and I have had A LOT!!! The brisket melted in your mouth… It is a rare find…
Billy F — Google review
This was my first time at Zeeland Street restaurant. Saw the write up in the 225 magazine and had to check it out. For now they are only open for breakfast and lunch, their evening seatings under the name 'Beloved' are on hold. I stopped by for lunch and ordered the white beans over rice with a side order of potato salad and cornbread dressing. Everything was delicious. They also had on their daily specials a pot roast that I saw someone in nearby table enjoying thoroughly, plan on going back to try that sometime soon. The cornbread dressing had a little spicy bite to it, but still mild. The potato salad was definitely homemade tasting and creamy...yum. The white beans themselves were not heavily seasoned, but they had a wonderful flavor and were very creamy. The cornbread muffin was a nice little addition.
Brenda K — Google review
I liked the restaurant atmosphere with big windows and natural light, lots of space and bright colors. A good number of menu choices. My to go lunch selections were generous in size but all seemed watered down in taste and texture (and only 1 shrimp & 1 crab piece in my gumbo). I wish I had added some seasoning salt and hot sauce. I think the cornbread and red beans with sausage were the best among the items that I tried. The greens weren't good.
Coretta J — Google review
I recently had breakfast at a wonderful place in Zeeland that I can highly recommend to everyone. The classic American breakfast dishes were delicious and the staff really went above and beyond to accommodate my dietary needs as a Muslim. They made sure that there was no cross-contamination with non-halal items, which was very reassuring. The breakfast menu had a great variety of options, from pancakes and eggs to bacon and sausage. I tried the spinach omelette and it was perfectly cooked and seasoned. My family had the pancakes, and they were fluffy and filling. What impressed me the most was the level of care that the staff showed towards their customers. They took the time to explain the dietary options and made sure that we felt comfortable with our choices. Overall, I would highly recommend this breakfast place to anyone looking for delicious food and excellent service. The fact that they go out of their way to accommodate Muslim dietary needs is a testament to their dedication to customer satisfaction. Thank you for a wonderful breakfast experience!

Food was delicious and staff was nice. The grits were amazing. The ONLY issue was they were short-staffed so service was kinda slow and almost felt forgotten. Would still recommend them because everyone has a bad day.

The food was great! Just a simple homemade breakfast with a great variety of items on the menu. I got the BEST sandwich (bacon, egg, sprouts, tomato), cheddar grits, and hashbrowns. Soji: Modern Asian is a top choice for those who love Asian cuisine with a modern twist. The restaurant offers a fusion of traditional and innovative dishes, such as their take on the banh mi sandwich which features a generous portion of meat along with classic elements like cucumber, pickled carrots, and cilantro. The menu includes appetizers, fresh sushi options like the 225 Roll and Crunchy Roll, ramen, and more.
We had a great experience at a busy time on a Saturday evening. The appetizers, entrees, and drinks were all delicious and our server Daven did an exceptional job. It was a bit difficult making a reservation for a large party of 10 (see below), but our table was ready and we walked in and sat right down 5 minutes before our reserved time. Daven greeted our table and took a moment to learn everyone's name. He suggested drinks and appetizers and answered questions about the menu. It took more than a few moments to get our drinks from the bar, but it was very busy. 8 of our 10 entrees were delivered together and the remaining 2 came out just a few minutes behind. Everyone enjoyed their dinner and Daven was attentive to drink refills and other requests. Overall, a terrific experience: Recommended. A note regarding reservations: I tried to use the online reservation system and was given a time, but did not get a confirmation. I called the restaurant a few times during lunch hours only to get a very long voicemail message and a notice that the mailbox was full. I called back after 5pm and spoke with someone that confirmed my reservation and told me I would need to make a $50 non-refundable deposit. This amount was deducted from our bill, but the $2.50 fee was not. I honestly don't have a problem making a deposit for a reservation as long as my table is going to be ready on time as it was in this case. Parking was a bit tricky here, as it is at many midcity eateries, but we did find a spot.

Friendly service, easy to get to, we were served delicious food and mocktails. We walked in on the early side (before 6) on a Saturday and got a table for 2, it wasn't crowded but started to pick up by the time we left. I got the pad thai made vegan and it was fresh and colorful.

Cannot rave about this place enough!! Food was amazing, we had the fried chicken bao buns, and flank steak ramen! Everything was so flavorful and delicious, the absolute best part was the zero proof spicy margarita the bartender Harley made for us! If you’re indecisive like me and can’t choose, she will make you the best surprise drink! She’s extremely knowledgable, SO much fun to chat with! As someone that doesn’t drink alcohol, but loves a fun drink their nonalcoholic drink menu is one of the most impressive I’ve seen!

Second experience here, and it was ok. The eggrolls were nice... Our Philly cheesesteak burger was fresh and very fulfilling! My husband and I shared the eggrolls with the burger and crawfish loaded fries. The Crawfish loaded fries were good but a bit salty and thick! I have to try the burger my daughter had next time, which was the jalapeño burger! She said it was good! The burgers are huge, by the way!! Let me not forget the lady that took our order, she was nice!! I enjoyed the music on the TV inside!!! It's definitely a win for me!!☺️💜

Flavor That Hits Every Time! Roul’s Deli definitely delivered! The Philly cheese steak fries were absolutely on point — full of flavor and cooked just right. The shrimp had a great crispy batter that I really enjoyed; it was a little salty, but still really good overall. The seafood fries and egg rolls? Fire. Both are dishes I’d absolutely come back for again. You can tell they put care into their food. I can’t wait to try more of what they’ve got — this spot might just become a regular for me!

Roul’s Deli doesn’t do pretense. No sleek branding, no overthought plating, no meticulously curated social media presence. It doesn’t need any of that. The food here speaks for itself—loud, unapologetic, and very very good. Founded in 1999 by a man named Roul, this family-run joint has built its reputation on freshness, flavor, and a relentless commitment to excess. His catchphrase? Juicy Juicy. And that’s exactly what you get. You don’t come here for fine dining. You come here for fried indulgence wrapped in wax paper. For grease-stained brown bags that feel heavier than they should. For the kind of meal that reminds you why butter, cheese, and deep fryers exist in the first place. And if you’re smart, you go with the Crawfish Eggrolls. This is what happens when a traditional eggroll takes a hard left turn into Louisiana. No bland cabbage filler here—just plump, spicy crawfish, molten cheese, sautéed onions, bell peppers, and jalapeños, all packed into a golden, crispy shell that shatters on impact. You dip it in sweet chili sauce, because the balance of heat and sugar is what makes Southern food king. It’s rich, over-the-top, and completely addictive. We This is not some halfhearted novelty dish slapped on the menu for Instagram likes. This is the main event, a full-throttle Louisiana flavor bomb engineered for maximum satisfaction. Roul’s isn’t here to impress you. It’s here to feed you. And in a world full of overpriced, underwhelming food designed for aesthetics first, that’s a beautiful thing.

Mixed Experience My recent visit to Roul's Deli was a bit of a mixed bag. While the restaurant had some positive aspects, there were a couple of areas that fell short of expectations. Overall, it was an average experience. One of the main issues I encountered at Roul's Deli was the longer-than-normal wait time. The service seemed a bit slow, which was a bit frustrating. It took quite some time for our orders to arrive at the table, and it affected the overall dining experience. When the seafood fry’s finally arrived, it looked quite appealing with its golden-brown color and crispy texture. However, the taste didn't quite match the visual appeal. The seafood fry lacked flavor and didn't live up to my expectations. It was a bit disappointing, especially considering the initial visual impression. On a more positive note, the staff at Roul's Deli was friendly and accommodating. They were attentive and made efforts to ensure our needs were met during our time there. The atmosphere of the deli was cozy and relaxed, providing a comfortable setting for the meal. The menu at Roul's Deli offered a decent variety of options, including seafood dishes and other Baton Rouge deli favorites. If you decide to visit Roul's Deli, I would recommend exploring alternative menu options rather than the seafood fry.seafood fry’s

So I've been eating here for years but with the new staff, I won't be returning. The young guy at the counter isn't hospitable at all. I often try to perk him up or lift his spirit, he's consistently very cold and nonchalant. I even left a tip to lift his spirit, still—same blank stare, dull attitude. He doesn't greet his customers and is not in a good mood day to day. I pray his situation changes for the better. I ordered a shrimp burger 2 days ago and I have been suffering with a case of food poisoning since then. Unfortunately, I will not be returning to this location or likely at all to Roul's as the service and food has both combined left a good taste in my mouth yet a bad result in my body and spirit. Hope to see you improve this location as it's the original Roul's. Thanks.

The food is incredible. Seasoned so well you just want more and more. One of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Fast service, attention to detail. Parking is a challenge but well worth it.

They have one of the best Philly Steak P’oboys. I love their egg rolls too especially the crawfish ones. If you're in for a quick meal, it's the best place to be. They offer flexible menu options, that means you get to pick and choose dressings and sides. You can even upgrade a burger to a lettuce wrap!. The workers are genuinely nice and hardworking and enjoy interactions with customers. It does take a while sometimes to get your food out but they do their best and always provide warm service. When the wait gets long just know the food will be worth it!🥰

BLDG 5 Market | Kitchen | Patio is a trendy farmhouse-style establishment in Baton Rouge, founded by Misti and Brumby Broussard. The restaurant offers a global grazing and sipping experience with an architectural-salvage vibe, featuring interlocking rooms and plant-draped patios.
Wonderful atmosphere and service. For small bites, we ordered the Crostini Grazing Board and the Stracciatella Board. These were small plates for sure. They were very tasty but small amounts for the price. We order the steak & potatoes board for 2 which was delicious! Plenty of food for more than 2 people. We also ordered the Shrimp Panang. This was my first time trying a Thai inspired dish and while it wasn’t terrible, Curry isn’t one of my favorite spices. All in all, we loved the vibe of this beautiful restaurant and will visit again!

I would have never picked to come here….. but brooooooooooo. It’s a store, restaurant, grocery store , bar… under the bridge ,, gravel road nowhere to park .. live band, solo guitarist , I don’t know when I got here or when to leave . I wanna . Ok back to the place under the bridge . The waiter was cool super busy . I was late as usual . Arrived at the same l time as the birthday girl. the bldg 5 flavor flight was the 💣. The steak was perfect potatoes … everything was great I didn’t even know I was hungry . So worth it!!!!! Happy birthday Ciara & Ana The bacon jam was greeeeeaaaattttttttt.

I’ve been to BLDG5 a few times, and i have to say the food is truly impressive. The Stracciatella Board is light, creamy, and beautifully done, one of the best starters in town. The Shrimp Panang is another favorite, full of flavor and always cooked perfectly. Their cocktails are creative and well balanced, making it a great spot for food and drinks. That said, the service has been very discouraging. I’ve noticed a consistent difference in how staff treat guests — warm and friendly with Americans, but dismissive and unkind toward people of color, including Hispanic and Indian diners. It’s disheartening when the hospitality doesn’t match the quality of the food. I truly wish the experience was more welcoming because the menu is outstanding, but until the service improves, I often choose other places when going out with friends.

This place rocks. Great date night spot, we went two nights back to back because it was so good. Incredible ambiance inside and out. They have friendly and knowledgeable servers who go above and beyond. We got the powerhouse salad with a steak and potato board the first night and a well as the harvest board with Tuna and a Crostini grazing board the second. They did not disappoint.

Cute date night spot. Great ambiance and love the asthetic. Great beer and cocktail menu. The food and service were just okay. Food options were interesting and made with high quality ingredients, but the flavor was surprisingly bland. I would definitely go back and maybe try some different dishes.

This place is such a beautiful spot! The atmosphere is stunning with exceptional service. The chip and dips were lovely. My son had the karage chicken and it was delicious. My husband and I shared the tuna bowl and it was good but could use some salt. The star of the show was the Tom kha gai soup, phenomenal. The cocktails were delicious as well. Overall 9/10

Building 5: Where Baton Rouge Finds Its Groove Building 5 in Baton Rouge doesn’t just serve food—it sets a mood. Tucked into the city’s evolving culinary scene, the restaurant feels less like a local stop and more like a destination. Its low-lit ambience, textured interiors, and conversational hum create the sort of atmosphere where one lingers rather than dines and dashes. The service strikes the balance that many places miss: attentive without crossing into overplayed theatrics. Staff move with quiet confidence, letting the food and drink do the real talking. And talk it does. The meat board is the headliner here, a showpiece that commands the table with its arrangement of charcuterie and bold flavors. It’s the kind of dish that turns a simple gathering into an event. Cocktails come across not as afterthoughts but as co-stars—crafted, complex, and smooth enough to keep pace with the food. On a recent family visit, the experience on Tues 26 Aug came together seamlessly. We found themselves not just satisfied but genuinely impressed—by the flow of the evening, the hospitality, and most of all, the food’s ability to rise above expectation. In a city defined by its culinary heritage, Building 5 doesn’t try to compete with tradition; it carves out its own lane. Think of it as Baton Rouge’s stylish lounge-act—refined yet comfortable, modern without losing warmth. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to come back, not because you have to, but because you can’t imagine. Thank you Misti for the awesome experience!

Asian fusion restaurant
Nestled in the vibrant Perkins Road Overpass district, Chow Yum is a culinary gem that celebrates the bold and diverse flavors of pan-Asian street food. Under the creative direction of executive chef Jordan Ramirez, this lively eatery offers an array of dishes that are both whimsical and delicious. The star attraction here is undoubtedly their ramen, crafted from a rich 24-hour-simmered pork broth that promises to warm your soul.
I made reservations for my birthday to eat at Chom Yum. I really wanted to try the bao! Our server was attentive and gave us recommendations which made the dining experience great! The Hot Honey Chicken Bao packed a lot of flavor. The crispy chicken, honey, pickled onions, scallions, and the house boursin were a perfect combination of ingredients. The Hissy Fit is a seasonal drink. It's not as sweet as I would like, but I thought it wasn't bad. The Firebird Ramen is spicy! I love the seasoned egg, the miso broth, the crispy chicken.... I ate everything with a smile on my face! One thing I didn't try was the bread pudding because I had a full stomach. I will visit again to enjoy it.

Typical Louisiana restaurant - serving Vietnamese Crawfish and other South East Asian food. Good service, delicious food, very very limited 'vegetarian' option, but if you ask they will swap out the meat with some tofu. Surprisingly amazing desserts too! I would recommend it!

Very impressed with Chow Yum! I normally think fusion restaurants always have meh food and good atmosphere. However, I was pleasantly surprised with the food and drinks here. We sat at the bar and the bartender was sweet. The place is a little cramped inside, but it was also super busy and a Sunday night. Once it started to clear out it felt cozy & the decor adds to the aesthetic of the entire place. We had the 2 special frozen drinks, a snake wrangler & the Bali blast. Both were really tasty and strong. The snake wrangler is a honeydew melon based cocktail and the Bali blast is similar to a blaja blast with a tropical twist. For food we tried the rib stack, pork belly bao, fried fish bao, & the smokehouse fried rice. The rib stack was 10/10 so tender and so much meat and the sauce was addicting. The baos were also a good size and yummy! The fried rice was meh and didn’t have much flavor. Overall, we would definitely come again as there’s other dishes we want to try and the dessert also sounds bomb.

My family & I got together to meet up at Chow Yum. At first, we were supposed to eat separate since the interior wouldn't allow to set a table for 8. But we were lucky enough to eat outside in the back patio. We heard they were selling their own boiled crawfish. The flavors were surprisingly delicious & spicy. It had hidden quail eggs in the bucket. We shared the T-bokki w/ beef. It's not as spicy but it was really good. One of my Aunt ordered the Dan Dan noodles; she said it tasted really good. We also shared the cafe sua da vietnamese coffee) bread pudding, I forgot to take a picture before everyone took a bite. The flavor was more cinnamon than coffee, but it was still good.

Chow Yum is a great place to enjoy Asian cuisine with a little creole mixed in. We started with the chef dumplings. I got hot honey chicken Bao bun and Bombay chicken. Everything I’ve had from this restaurant has been amazing. I definitely recommend stopping by if you get a chance and try it out.

I ordered Crispy fish curry. The taste was good but it was too sweet. The amount was good. I couldn’t finish it as it was too sweet for my taste. I'd recommend little bit of spice. The decor and lighting could be better. Locationwise It's not the best. We had to wait long time to get the food.
Synthia R — Google review
Our food was served to us on dining ware that were very chipped, no soda fountain, only canned drinks which is weird but fine I guess. Then the food came out looking dusty, on top of that our server seemed to not want to be there for whatever reason, loud cursing heard from the kitchen made me concerned about even eating the food. We got the Bao sampler plate, my wife had the beaucoup noodles and I got the Smoke House which was mostly just fried rice. I will say the pork Bao is was the decent. Others were soggy especially the fried fish Bao, they could probably change their fry oil more often as the fried items were a little darker than I prefer. Going to give them another shot in a couple months, hopefully just an off night..

Ideal tex-mex spot in Baton Rouge, Fuzzy's offers classic tacos with a Baja twist, plus cheap drinks and margaritas. They've got great customer service and will never let you leave hungry. The only downside is that the meat can be pricier than some other spots around town.
Great service. Not expensive at all. 🤑 My boyfriend really liked the garlic sauce. Even asked for some more. On the other hand, I love love love their nachos. Their cheese isn’t sickening. I got the nacho with brisket and loved it. Not cheap on meat at all. We are picky eaters and they got our orders spot on. 👌🏼 Every chip had cheese and meat!🥰 Left with a clean plate not a single chip left. 😝 We’ll be back 😉

An update: Quality of food and service has gone down. My family and I come here quite often. The last few times food was ok. Tonight (1/3/2020), I had to return my plate. I bought the enchilada plate one veggie and one cheese. I’ve ordered this plate before, but tonight was different. It had a weird texture and cold. So I cut it open. My cheese enchilada was a tortilla shell filled with cold shredded cheese. The rice was hard, and the only thing good were my potatoes. When I spoke to the young man at the front counter, he explained that the cheese enchilada is made like that. He continued to say “We can microwave it.” I most definitely do not send plates back...but I told him I didn’t want it. He insisted that I let him get another plate made. Second plate came out...fresh potatoes, veggie enchilada was better, but the cheese enchilada once again came out with a tortilla shell stuffed with cold shredded cheese. This is not what they have made previously. I’m truly shocked and bummed at the same time. 11 months: O...m...G!!!!! My fiance and I have been passing this place up all the time saying "We should try that place one day". Well we finally tried it. First night we grabbed nachos (veggie & spicy pork). Second time (pictured here) we had the combo veggie soft taco plate and spicy pork quesadilla. Third time, veggie crunchy taco combo plate and special beef nachos. Tried all this within a week's time. DEEEEE...FREAKING...LICIOUS!!! You can tell they use fresh ingredients. Flavors are hitting right on. Black beans have a robust flavor. The fried potatoes are not greasy tasting at all. Customer service was spectacular. Overall great food, great people and good vibes. Compliments to the Chef (cooks). 😄😄😄😄

This was a very good value. It is very hard to find breakfast places in the morning. The food was obviously prepared very fresh. Seemed like quality food you would cook at home, not really Chef level (the bacon was slighty soggy, and the cheese was loose), but still good wholesome and fresh anyway. I had the shrimp and the bacon taco. The shrimp were quality. Definitely worth going back.

After moving here from ft worth, tx, I have missed my normal comfort foods. So I was super excited to see there was a fuzzy's in town. Yay! We grabbed our fuzzy's cups for the .99 cent refill and off we went! Very easy to find, wasn't busy on a Sat night. Clean inside. The staff is super friendly. I like that they bring the food to your table. Order came out quickly. The chips and queso was just as yummy as I remember. Score! The tacos however were a huge let down. The fajita beef on my husband's was dry and tough, had an odd flavor. Edible, but not what we expected. My tacos were soft flour, ground beef. They weren't even hot. The tortilla was so tough I could hardly get a bite. Wound up ripping it by hand. The ground beef had seen better days. It was clearly old. It was dried out, barely warm. Not what I'm accustomed to from this chain at all! Usually it's so juicy it runs down your hand. Not the case. The gentleman who took our order asked if they lived up to my expectations and I honestly didn't have the heart to say no. I will go back, but def expect some better quality. Had this been my first time I'd have asked for a refund and never gone back. I'm a die hard fan and hope they do better next time.

LIT Pizza, located at 3930 Burbank Dr, Baton Rouge, LA 70808-0404, offers a fantastic experience for families and pizza enthusiasts. The staff is consistently friendly and courteous, providing excellent to-go and dine-in services. The pizza is cooked in a fire blast oven, resulting in an unbeatable crust and delicious flavors. This place is really good, and for what it is super decently priced. Imagine a layout where you can build your own pizza and see the ingredients all played out, similar to subway, but better quality. There’s tons of options and something for everyone here. Vast choices on toppings, sauces, and “finishes” which makes nearly endless customizable options. They were generous with my toppings, and I really enjoy being able to watch my pizza get cooked on the spot in the oven in front of me. Always cooks quickly, not a long wait at all, and nice thin crust. They also have a blood orange drink which I drank before I thought to take a picture but I highly recommend trying it, it is so delicious. Love this place.

Normal pizza is great; however, I recently found out I have a gluten allergy so I got the cauliflower crust pizza. One of my family members gets it all the time and says it looks normal and tastes normal — this one did not taste normal at all and was very soggy. It broke apart extremely easily. I asked a worker if it was supposed to look like this because I know it’s not and he said it was normal that’s just how it is. I waited 30 minutes and it cost 15 dollars and I was not able to eat it.

If you're on the hunt for a quick and satisfying meal, look no further than American Market. This charming spot specializes in crafting delicious sandwiches, particularly their renowned po-boys and pitas. With a menu that features an array of meats and cheeses, each sandwich is expertly pressed to perfection using a panini press. It's not just about the food; this market has become a beloved gathering place for locals, especially football fans looking to stock up on snacks or tailgating essentials.
A little pricy from yester-year, but enjoyed my favorite the cajun turkey breast poboy toasted with chips and soda...

This place is bar-none THE staple of the everyday living people of Baton Rouge. For the price vs quantity and value, their poboys are the epitome of value added return. The staff are always nice and amenable. The place itself is a little eccentric, if it weren't a college town, but if you *need* a great sandwich, search no further.

Absolutely one of the best Po-Boys in Baton Rouge. My parents have been bringing me here since I was young and they haven’t let me down once in the food or the service. Now that I’m old enough I get general groceries, occasional Po-Boys, and a case of beer for the guys while I’m here and I have never been let down. Frostop is an old-school diner that offers a classic dining experience with its menu featuring burgers, hot dogs, po' boys, and seafood platters. One of the highlights is their housemade root beer which has been praised for its smoothness and perfect level of sweetness. The diner has a nostalgic ambiance with worn-out furnishings but still provides great food.
The Frostop Restaurant has been at this location as long as I can remember and accept for some wear and tear, has really not changed. The menu is limited, burgers, fries, ice cream floats and such. The food is tasty and the staff are friendly. Nothing fancy just a nostalgic eating spot that is really good.
Louis E — Google review
The food was pretty decent. Basic menu, but tasted fresh. Rootbeer was more fresh that I preferred, but my 6 year old loved it! The facility, while old, old... looked clean as they could keep it. What made it almost unbearable was the heat. It was a good 78 degrees inside, if not more warm (in the middle of the summer).
Yaritza T — Google review
Burger, fry, and a drink combo is their specialty. The restaurant has been in the same location since I was a child and the Root Beer is still very good with a hint of honey to it. A definite reminder of how burger stops use to be back in the day. Inside is pretty run down, but still worth stopping in once in a while for a walk down nostalgia lane.

This is a '50s era original place downtown Baton Rouge. Can't miss, there's a huge mug of rootbeer for sign. Make their own rootbeer which is what i got! Delish!Burgers served there. Old diner. Everyday walk of life people go there. Take a friend! Counter area, tables, mostly booths all original.

As always this place never fails to satisfy. The burger special with a frosty mug of root beer is the stuff you remember from your childhood. I'm so glad they're still putting out a delicious burger and the best root beer in town.
Sharon M — Google review
Are there for the first time in 12or 13 years on 8/4/2025 at around 1:30 in the afternoon. The interior is even worse of a dump than it was back then. The seat cushions in the bottle are still torn and worn. The owners have not put any money into fixing the place up in over 20 years, and it shows. I got the BBQ beef poboy (it used to be a sandwich on a bun and tasted much better), which consisted of a meager amount of tough roast beef slathered with a semi nasty BBQ sauce. They used to have excellent fries. Good old fashioned ones. Now they serve batter fries, which I personally hate, and the ones they served me were old and hard. No telling how long they had been under a heat lamp. Most egregious of am was the root beer. It was nothing like it used to be before. They used to have the best root beer you could find, but that particular day it was sub par. And the glass wasn't even chilled like it's supposed to be The place is a dump serving substandard food and I don't know how it stays open.
Sayre R — Google review
Food was decent, your basic burger and fry joint. The root beer was fresh and very sweet. Service was great but I cannot stop for lunch when its 96° outside and eat inside with NO A/C. My teens boys who work outside in the summer in TX when its 100°+ outside plus 100% humidity said it was very hot too. Very hard to enjoy a meal when the internal temp is almost as high as the one outside.
Brittney M — Google review
Everyone was friendly and food was made fresh vs just sitting around and good prices. Does need a little work. It was super hot, front window cracked, sink seemed stopped up bc after washing hands there was standing water. It could be really great if a little work was put into it like some paint, etc. It just needs a lot of TLC from the owner. But service and food were good.

I had a really bad experience over there my pizza wasn't all the way cook and the crust was way too soft and I spoke with 3 different people over the phone and the last person told me there was nothing she could do and I asked her well can I get my pizza made over with a different crust and she stated no I'm sorry. I'll never go back to that location at all I'm very disappointed in Litpizza 😡

I wish there was something good. I could say about the food, We had a pizza bowl, A cauliflower crust, multi topping and Some cheese sticks. Absolutely disgusting, Until today, I didn’t realize pizza could taste bad. The cheese was disgusting, meats were low quality. I don’t even know how to explain it literally threw away everything except for the blood orange lemonade which was pretty good.

I am from Nepal and this is the best one and similar to what I used to eat in Nepal. I love the thin crust and overall pizza from little pizza. I love how they prepare it on the spot. The place is also nice and staff are very friendly.

The pizza was amazing! I could have eaten all day. The idea of this restaurant is such a great one. You get a decent sized personal pizza that you completely Customize. The staff was helpful and the place was very clean and tight. We got a few different pizzas and they were all amazing. It’s a very good place to go with friends or on a date so you can all have your own preferences met. They also had a blood orange lemonade that was to die for!

I love you lit pizza but come on what is this. I asked for fresh mozzarella and I get they’re slices so it’s not gonna be spread everywhere but this is 70 percent sauce. I mean a whole slice literally has no cheese on it. Not to mentioned I ordered feta on this pizza too. Every time I come in there y’all are amazing and everything tastes great. Just disappointed this is how y’all make food delivered.

I love getting Lit. The Philly calzone is epic. I tried the white sauce tonight and it’s my new fave. They were packed busy tonight, but I still got my order as quickly as I would if I was the first person in line. Absolutely the best pizza in Baton Rouge

Usually when you get a bunch of toppings, the pizza is a little raw, in the center. This custom built pizza came out just right. I tried the olivini, and ricotta cheeses. Very light flavors and textures. The house mozzarella was very fresh and had a good pull. Also seen is pepperoni sausage bacon roasted garlic bell pepper black olive. The pesto on the side was awesome.

If you're looking for a delicious and filling meal, MOOYAH Burgers, Fries & Shakes is the perfect place. Not only do they offer some of the best hamburgers in town, but their fries and shakes are also top notch. Plus, their staff is friendly and kid-friendly, making it a great spot for any family outing.
It was my first time. Clean tables to eat at, the three people working greeted me when I walked in. I’m going meatless so I asked about those options. After the lady explained things to me I got the vegetarian with the potato bun it was very good and they made it fresh THEY WEAR GLOVES!! I LOVE THAT!! and I ordered the sweet potato fries with the hot honey sauce and that was interesting I used some of my hot honey dip for my burger and my fries it was good. I am full and I am happy and satisfied I asked the workers for their names and wanted to give appreciation for taking the time to make my food and with it being fresh and I’m grateful for my first visit thank you Alta, Dwayne, and William

This was the best burger I have had in a while. That queso sauce was messy, but SO WORTH IT!! Great flavor. Fries were good too. The best part is the manager delivering the food. It's inspected before delivery. His attitude is infectious. Such a well oiled machine cooking fresh burgers to order. All the hard surfaces make the building a little loud. Very cool place though. Clean bathroom too.

I found the food to be reasonably priced, offering good value for what you get. The atmosphere was enjoyable — cozy enough to relax in, with a pleasant vibe that made the experience feel inviting. While the staff didn’t particularly stand out in terms of service, they did maintain a consistent, strong aroma throughout the restaurant, which added to the sensory appeal of the space. Overall, a solid spot for a casual meal with a bit of character. The burger was a standout — juicy, flavorful, and most impressively, it held its structural integrity from first bite to last, which is always a win in my book. The fries were a bit of a paradox: delightfully crunchy on the outside but unmistakably greasy, leaving a satisfying mess that somehow worked. All in all, it was a pleasant and satisfying meal that hit the spot.
Toothpaste H — Google review
All the employees I saw were polite, courteous, and ready to assist. My experience was delightful from the time I stepped in the door, until I stepped out again! The manager, James, spoke to me and found out I had mistakenly told them I wanted the garlic spice on my fries, but I got garlic salt instead (partly my fault). I ate them all. He found out and said it was probably the garlic spice called mooyah spice. (Indeed it was!) He offered to give me another order to take home with the correct spice on it. He went above and beyond to make my experience better, even though I was partly to blame. What a great leadership example! The food was also fantastic! I will certainly return to this amazing location!

This place is a gem! I mean I know it’s in a common plaza - I get it. But this rivals anything we’ve ever had from five guys or In ‘n Out. Fresh and absolutely delicious burgers with a choice of hand cut fries or fresh chips. They have high ratings for a reason!

If you’re looking for a satisfying, affordable meal in a cozy setting, this spot is a solid choice. The food is simple but flavorful—nothing extravagant, just good, honest cooking that hits the spot. The atmosphere is warm and unpretentious, and the staff are friendly and patient, making the overall experience feel welcoming and relaxed. It’s not a place for gourmet dining, but for a casual bite that won’t break the bank, it’s well worth a visit.

We had to go next door for an appointment. We live an hour away in Covington. We didn't eat before we left so we were STARVING. We were greeted when we walked in. The last in the front was very helpful & sweet! My fiance got The mushrooms burger meal with sweet potatoe fries , drink & a Peanut butter cup shake. I got the bacon cheeseburger with house reg. Fries, drink & an oreo shake. It came out to about $45 not including the tip. They bring the food to the tables. The cook himself brought it & checked on us. IT WAS DELICIOUS. I'm a big girl & that was VERY FILLING. I'd give it more stars if I could! I even had to make a cute tiktok about the experience. I will definitely stop back here when I'm out in BR again. Shout out to Alexandra, James. As you can see we left no crumbs!

Krispy Kreme is a beloved chain that has mastered the art of crafting delicious donuts in an array of flavors and shapes, complemented by a selection of coffee and frozen drinks. Known for their iconic glazed donuts, Krispy Kreme offers an experience where you can often watch the magic happen right before your eyes as they prepare these sweet treats. Many locations stay open late into the night, especially on weekends, making it easy to satisfy those late-night cravings.
I mean, there's nothing more to say it's Krispy Kreme. The machine that rolls thru the building was still there from the original one, and it can still be seen. The donuts were mouth-watering and hot at the time, perfect day for 2 dozen doughnuts for the family.
Gamble J — Google review
How this location devolved over the years is such a tragedy. Ever since its renovation, it's only been a sharp decline as the years follow. If it isn't the consistent shortages of glazed donuts (which... how? It's your staple flavor) and closing shop over an hour earlier than stated, it's how awful the donuts themselves are when you DO get them. See the attached photo. Every single visit I've had, these donuts only get smaller and more deformed... not to mention how dry they are. Stop going to this location. You're only getting ripped off by the rising prices, yet declining quality. If you're going to keep overpricing your donuts, the least you could do is make them consistently good, and most importantly: MAKE THEM THE RIGHT SIZE! I'd get better value by buying Walmart donuts over whatever the heck this is.
Magnus Z — Google review
The girl at the drive through window tried to cheat me out of a dozen donuts but after I made her call her manager he straightened it out. I was sorely disappointed in the quality of the donuts since they were cold and hard, nothing like a Krispy Kreme is famous for!! I won't be back and don't recommend to anyone!!

Good coffee but rats are nearby (one of many peaking out of the wooden crates at the bottom). I saw rats jumping around like it was a playground —while waiting in the drive thru for 30+mins.

The employees do not know how to read. I’m going to post a screen shot of what I ordered and I’m going to post what I received. Six out of the twelve donuts are wrong.

Food has gone downhill, my donuts were stale and the girl behind the front cash register needs to be fired, catches attitude when asked a question. I came when there was no one and somehow had to still wait over 20 minutes when doing a pickup for only 3 glazed donuts while she was talking with her co worker.

White girl at drive-through window has to be the absolute rudest person on the planet. 33 minutes to pick up an online order then have to deal with her was just amazing. Never again will we be going back.
Chance T — Google review
Visited the store about 30 minutes ago and was told that the lobby was closed due to a vent being broken & that the only way to order would be through the drive thru. Which has NEVER been a quick experience since its inception! There was an employee outside when I got out to go in who explained this to me & to who I told that to. As I was pulling off to leave because I was not going to wait 15 plus minutes I saw her take the payment of a gentleman to go inside and get his order for him & bring it out to him so that he would not have to wait in the drive thru she just told me “would be quick, because 2 people are working”! After witnessing this I asked her if she could do the same for me, she declined and Doubled down on telling me go through the drive thru it will be quick and she was going in to help the two people that were in there working! HadI had time to sit there to wait to prove to her that that drive thru would be anything but quick I would have! I left, and as I was leaving the same car that was at the window when I pulled in was STILL at the window! Meanwhile there 3 employees outside in the back of the property all on smoke breaks while the line got longer and there were only 2 people inside working and one more outside taking orders on the side for select customers! Very disappointing! I have never left a comment before but that interaction deserved a review! AlsoI don’t understand why the drive thru still takes so long!

One of the VERY BEST experiences I’ve ever had at an eatery. The seafood chowder was thick and tasted light and the crawfish had a clean flavor. I ordered extra bread with my meal. Presentation: A+, Service: A+, the restaurant was clean and calming. The music wasn’t too loud. My drink was good: sweet tea and lemonade, half and half. My spoon was presented on the side of the bowl not in the food. People appreciate that. I know I do! The staff was so friendly. My server was so polite and paid attention to me. Go and see Justin.

The best pizza, the best bread pudding, the garlic knots and dipping sauce were all out of this world good. The Waitress Kylie did such a great job making sure we were well taken care of. The general manager Dan showed us so much hospitality. It was our first time at Reginelli's and we will be going back. So worth our drive from Gonzales for such great food and service.

Great place, great food, great service...can't say much more about it. The Eggplant Reginelli was probably one of the best appetizers I've had in the past 5 years. I also made my custom pizza and my wife had the perfect pairing. Tiramisu was also killer! Keith was a fantastic waiter and needs a raise!! My wife looked at me and said, "this is my new favorite place."

Today was my first time going to reginelli's. What can I say but WOW! Each dish we ordered was a powerhouse of flavor. The meatballs were tender and succulent, cozy in a warm, chunky marinara topped with soft, creamy cheese and beautiful, fresh basil spears. The seasonal dish, Bayou Eggplant eas a homerun. Moist and tender eggplant topped with a flavorful crawfish cream sauce, perfectly seasoned. The Tomato Basil soup could have used more Basil, or maybe a drizzle of a garlic or Basil infused olive oil, but otherwise was pleasant. The Dreamstate sandwich was soft and a little soggy, but was hands down one of the absolute best sandwiches I have eaten in my entire life. I will absolutely be returning, especially for what was, likely, the most aptly named sandwich invented.

In town for National Bowling Tournament. Bowled terribly, but had THE BEST pizza here! Waitress was polite, cheerful, and very accommodating. ( to-go cup for remaining soda and refill. Extra sheets of aluminum foil for the left-overs. ) The pizza was amazing! Had the classic combo, and it had the perfect ratio of sauce to crust, tons of toppings and perfectly baked. Wouldn’t have changed a thing!

Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers is a fast-food gem that has captured the hearts of fried chicken lovers since its inception in 1996. Originating from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, this chain specializes in crispy chicken fingers served alongside crinkle-cut fries and buttery Texas toast. The menu also features their signature secret sauce, which adds a unique twist to every meal.
THE MOTHER SHIP! This is the "Original" store. The food was consistent with all the other Cane's I've eaten at Dallas, Colorado Spings. Great tasting, juicy chicken. The staff was too young to know who the college student pictured was and what movie he stared in.
John D — Google review
If you know anything about Louisiana, you know that food here isn’t just sustenance—it’s serious. And in the heart of it all, on Highland Road, stands a temple to deep-fried perfection: the original Raising Cane’s. They call it the Mother Ship. And like all great pilgrimage sites, it has a story. Back in the ’90s, Todd Graves had one simple dream: chicken fingers. No distractions, just perfectly fried, golden-brown strips. His LSU professor shot Grave’s idea down. Gave him an F for his efforts. Now most people would quit after that, but Graves was committed to his dream of serving chicken tenders to the people. So he did it the hard way—he went out and earned money to fund his crispy fried dream. he worked as a boilermaker in California, fished in Alaska, risking frostbite and exhaustion. He saved, he hustled, and in 1996, he came back to Baton Rouge, opened the Mother Ship, and built a fried chicken empire. Now let’s get something straight—Cane’s isn’t just good for a fast-food place. It’s good, period. The kind of good where people actually feel excited about going, like it’s some sort of indulgence rather than an impulse decision on a Tuesday night. And maybe that’s because, despite the drive-thru, despite the expansion, despite the near cult-like devotion, Cane’s never overcomplicated things. They stuck to the plan: keep it simple, keep it consistent, and don’t mess with the damn sauce. Now, let’s talk about the Caniac Combo. My order of choice. A gut-busting, artery-coating, grease-soaked gift from the fried chicken gods. Six fingers, golden and crispy. Crinkle-cut fries, because Cane’s knows better than to serve up limp, soggy potatoes. Coleslaw—yes, I actually eat it, and yes, it’s a vegetable, which means I can tell myself this meal is balanced. Texas toast, thick and buttery, grilled just enough to give you that golden crunch. And, of course, the lemonade. Fresh-squeezed, no artificial nonsense, the kind of drink that makes you feel like you’re sitting on a porch in the dead of summer, sweating through your shirt, and happy about it. But the real MVP? Cane’s Sauce. A remoulade-style masterpiece that I don’t just dip my chicken in—I dunk, I smother, I drown. It’s the kind of sauce that makes you mad you don’t have extra. So I order extra. Because I’m not an amateur. The Mother Ship still stands. The empire has grown. Cane’s is everywhere now, and yet, somehow, it still feels like a Louisiana thing. A Tiger thing. A fried-chicken fairy tale that started because one guy refused to give up on his dreams. Forever LSU, Ya’ll.
Eddy P — Google review
On our first visit to Baton Rouge, wanted to visit the original Raising Cane's as we have visited a few other "original" chain locations (Waffle House, Chick fil A). Interior had some nice mementos and was pleasant. Parking area was modern-looking (a few parking spots and luckily one spot was available) and the inside had more historical and nostalgic mementos. Staffers were friendly. Food was fresh and good. We like their signature sauce--only one kind and it is good.
Derek G — Google review
Visit: 05/28/25 5:15pm When it comes to fast food stops while traveling, we usually pass. But this one had a special pull: it's the original, flagship Raising Cane’s location—still operating today. Its historical significance made it worth a visit. Plus, we needed something quick, easy, and close to our Airbnb—and this spot checked all three boxes. The service was great, even with a trainee helping us. He did an excellent job, and while we ended up with (and paid for) one too many orders of fries, we didn’t make a fuss. We were in full-on vacation mode, so splitting the extra fries just became part of the laid-back experience. Unfortunately, the ambiance and food didn’t quite live up to the hype. We had hoped for a more impressive flagship visit—maybe a little museum-style homage to the brand’s history or more memorabilia. Oddly enough, the Raising Cane’s near our home has more on display than the flagship location. The only real nod to its roots was the old building itself and the original bakery mural that inspired the company’s signature artwork. The vintage booths with LSU tiger print were a nice touch, though. As for the food, it was just okay. The chicken had a strange aftertaste, like the fryer oil hadn’t been changed in a while. It wasn’t bad enough to complain about, but it wasn’t the flavor we’ve come to expect (and love) from Cane’s. On vacation, when you’re spending money on meals out, “meh” isn’t what you’re hoping for. The young staff were doing their best, and we didn’t want to be the ones to throw off their day with complaints. Hopefully, things have since been smoothed out in the kitchen, because this visit didn’t reflect the quality we associate with Raising Cane’s.
Wanderfish — Google review
I moved here a year ago from Kenner, and everytime I’ve asked for my chicken extra crispy it never has been. I was gonna stop going but it’s so close to my house. Last night I asked for it specifically “extra extra crispy. Like extra crispy. Hard” and I get this…

I honestly don't like raising cane's. But we we're traveling and so we just got the first thing we saw. I have to say this was by far the best raising cane's I have eaten. And if it was always this good I'd probably eat there was more often.

Fleur de Lis Pizza is a long-standing family-owned establishment in Baton Rouge, serving traditional Roman pizza in a casual setting with a bar. The restaurant has been around since the mid-1940s and exudes a deep sense of tradition both in its appearance and its pizza recipe.
Great flavored pizzas with tasty sauce and a tender crust that was nice. Toppings are savory with a perfect cheese covering.

I got the around the world pizza without anchovies, size small. It was good, but not amazing. It was a quick meal though. My bf got the pepperoni pizza, size large. The pizza crust was a little underdone for him. The pepperoni was under the cheese, which was pretty cool. I think it's strange that they only take cash.
May G — Google review
First visit. Pizza was overall good. Crust was a little soggy in middle I like it crisp all the way through. Could have used little more sauce on it as well. But was pleased and would recommend. It does take a while to get food especially if busy. We were only ones in there at the time and took 20 minutes for pizza to cook
Eric B — Google review
The only reason this place is getting 2 stars is because the beer was really cold and they have a legit, working jukebox. The interior is fascinating with many original beer signs and other beer paraphernalia. There's even an old telephone box with a chair and a folding door. Unfortunately, the whole point of us going there was an abysmal failure. The pizza didn't take long to get to the table; probably because it wasn't cooked all the way through. The dough was still partially raw and the crust was super soft. If can imagine eating wet biscuits, then you understand how it was. In addition, I got the pepperoni pizza, but it had no real pepperoni flavor because the meat had been cut into small pieces instead of left in slices. It was a huge let-down as I'd heard great things about the place. We won't be returning.
Lisa B — Google review
Genuine authentic pizza that is sooo delicious...hot always with plenty of cheese. This is a great place for the family or just you and a significant other to come by and enjoy a nice low light setting atmosphere that includes a jukebox of music from the fifties to today. The wait can seem a little long but is worth it once it arrives.
Paul V — Google review
Fleur De Lis' offers a unique pizza for the Baton Rouge market. It's almost best described as very thin Sicilian style. The pizza for this size runs about $11 (a large) and I found that to be just a bit more than 1 person might consume in a sitting. The pizza itself is crunchy and chewy at the same time. It does not have a traditional crust, but is good nonetheless. Definitely give this place a try. It's easy to see why it's been a BR "establishment" for so many years.

First time visit and I was impressed. Not by the place itself, the reviews I've read that remark on the dated and lackluster appearance of the place were right. Also, they dont accept credit cards, cash or check only. But the pizza was delicious. Not the best I've had (I had the Italian sausage -small) but definitely in the top three. Our server was a bit cool but she was also attentive and was not, in any way, rude. There were families, couples, and single patrons there. The bar seemed well stocked and it looks like they also have pickled eggs in a jar at the bar. I'll definitely be going back, if only for takeout.

If you doordash here you either accept you are going to get a late infraction and wait on your order or you accept it and then just sit there and wait for the 5-10 minute over time from pickup to unassign "worry free". I have never and i quite literally mean NEVER had an order on time or under time. Not once. Hell ive never had an order under 10 minutes that is the required pick up time It actually blows my mind how it doesnt matter how long as a door dasher i wait to walk inside.. i could wait 5 minutes. 10. 15 hell ive walked in 20 minutes over the time im supposed to before and ofc its never done lol. Well this is the time i finally make a review. A few days ago on i think thursday Im picking up for a grilled cheese and fries and i have 15 minutes from time of accepting it while already being here to walk in. So i walk in with 2 minutes to go. See there is literally one person in the store and i ask if mine is ready and what do you think the answer was??? (Edited to come back to say i waited another 10 minutes until i walked out which means it took more than 30 minutes since i dont get the order until at least 5 minutes after them. So 30 minutes close to close to make a grilled cheese and fries lol) just dont get it man... there are ALWAYS at least 4 employees in here and it should take ONE 5 minutes MAX to grill and fix a burger but it ALWAYS takes like 20 and thats with MULTIPLE patties being on the grill at all times. If you doordash here you either accept you are going to get a late infraction

The cost of this food is highway robbery! I visited 5 Guys to see if it was as good as I had heard it was — it isn't. The restaurant was very clean and everything looked well taken care of, but outside of that you will be disappointed. As you can see from the pictures of my order there's nothing to what you get. What you see in my opinion isn't worth $21.37 with the tip included (at least they let you choose if you pay for that or not)! No lettuce, no tomato, and no onion for $9.59; you have to ask for that instead of it coming by default (at least there free of charge)! The only semi good thing about the order is the fries. There were plenty of them and they tasted pretty good, not $5.29 worth but good. Over all I'd say that if they would cut the price of everything in half (and the toppings come on my order by default) it would be worth a trip, until then hard pass!

Have you ever been order number one at five guys? I haven’t until today. My colleagues cheered as I received my food. This was my very first time trying five guys. I have not had a good delicious burger. I still have not had a good delicious burger after buying one from five guys. I didn't know the burger you order is all you get. I got the buns, hamburger meat and bacon. No lettuce, tomatoes, no pickles and no mayo or mustard. The fries was ok, nothing to brag on. The shake was nothing special. For almost 22.00 the worst yet. I might try them again, but it will be a long time. Five guys do better.
Jennifer J — Google review
Ordered take out at the wrong location through the app, even though I double checked before ordering. Called 2 different times requesting a refund and spoke with 2 different people, haven’t heard back from the GM. People value service and the situation doesn’t even feel like an attempt was made for it to be remediated. If you have an issue with this location, I can confirm that it will not be resolved by the GM.
Nandi B — Google review
The food is always hot and fresh except for this one time, our beef patties were already cooked, which made them COLD when we received it. The employees are very friendly and always very eager to help you with your needs.
Bubbleintrouble M — Google review
They are TOO racist over there. Im used to racism; but when I walked in the white girl bended down on the conner and stared at me. And the big white man came in screaming “WHAT THE NAME ON THE ORDER!” So i ignored both of them and only spoke to the young African American lady about my pickup order details. The white people was looking confused as to why I didn’t speak to them. Im still confused as to how they were confused.

Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers is a vintage-style establishment that serves classic fast-food staples such as steakburgers and hot dogs. They also offer frozen custard, which is their specialty. Their single animal style burger closely resembles that of In-n-out. The shoestring fries are seasoned to perfection and considered the best by many customers. A dip is provided with the fries for added flavor.
This was really good food! It was hot, cooked fresh, and the sauce was delicious. It was also very clean and well kept up with. Overall 10/10

To say this was fast food, the service provided was amazing. The food was actually cooked fresh, the workers were polite & friendly. I'd definitely go back & order again.
LaTosha — Google review
Food was fresh, REAL food. Not pre-made burger patties, or frozen like. If you like cheese curds, definitely worth getting!
Brittany M — Google review
Visited Freddy's 08/08/2025 and was immediately greeted by staff as we walked in. The restaurant is very clean and the condiments were well stocked. Employees wore gloves and even changed their gloves when moving to a new task. The food was made to order and was hot, fresh and delicious. I also had to stop in to the restroom because we were traveling and the restroom was 5-star clean! Overall great experience.

American offerings like hamburgers, chili dogs, and chicken tenders. Their steakburger is pretty good. If you like a kind of pounded thin, meaty texture then you're in the right spot. Everything I've had has been of pretty good quality. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the california style burger. It just has too much thousand island on it for my tastes and I'm a sauce boss. Fries are pretty good, obviously shoestring. Their dessert offerings are apparently pretty good, I just haven't tried them. My favorite thing here is actually the Tropicana Fruit Punch. I mix it with some Starlight. It's really fantastic there's something about it that appeals to my tastes. Prices aren't too bad either. The lobby is pretty standard but has some charm. Bathrooms are fine. But the star of the show is the staff. Whom are always polite and cheery. I really like the cashiers. They're doing a great job.
Beats#9821 — Google review
I haven't been here in a while so thought we would try again. After spending 34.00 on 2 burgers, 1 ff and a shake. I can say it will probably be my last. The shake was ok nothing to write home about and their little stick french fries went to the trash, they were to hard to eat. The burger was good but again in my opinion not worth the price.
Myra R — Google review
A friend from work that knows I enjoy the occasional fried mozzarella recommended I try the cheese curds, after recently discovering them himself. He described them as "to die for". Based on my age, weight, and overall physical health, he might be right. They're amazingly delicious!
David B — Google review
The cheese curds were piping hot and very good. The crust was just right. The fries could have been a little fresher even though the picture was taken several minutes after served. The onion rings have a tempura style batter and were very good and fresh. The burgers were very good and the meat patties had a great crisp from the flat grill. The buns were slightly over buttered for my liking but I love the attempt. I love a fresh toasted lightly buttered bun. The Chicago dog was also very good. The bun is like Texas toast. The dog had that snap that everyone loves meaning its quality and fresh. The pickled peppers were tough to chew through but good. I could have used some celery salt and poppy seeds. Lol The kids love the soft serve yogurt or icecream.

Restaurant
Schlittz & Giggles is a laid-back pizzeria known for its innovative NYC-style pies made with beer and classic toppings. The atmosphere is described as relaxing and chill, with a sports theme environment featuring a big screen for entertainment. Located in an old warehouse building converted into a restaurant, the establishment offers delicious pizza and standout garlic knots. Despite being situated under the highway with narrow parking, it has become a popular spot just outside of the LSU campus.
Walls have neon signs, bar is relatively small & connected to the kitchen, great entrance and how someone jumped at the sight of someone coming through the door was great. Not a huge fan of the passing traffic from the hwy but not much they can do. They also have one of the largest indoor fans I have ever seen.
Dominic R — Google review
Awesome pizza! The crust has great flavor and the sauce isn't too sweet. The cinna-knots for dessert were really good but the dipping sauce made them fabulous. Service was excellent! The atmosphere is relaxed and fun but it's miserably hot. By the time we left, we were sweaty and red-faced. Wait until winter to visit here.
Susan P — Google review
Great food and friendly service. The beer is cold too. Will be back when in the area. All of it was yummy but the the BBQ pizza was my favorite of the all the pizzas we had. The nachos are yummy too and must try. Two locations on Perkins and 3rd st, go to the one on Perkins, plus it's free parking there (you have to pay for parking on 3rd st)
Angela P — Google review
I needed pizza and found this place along I-10 going eastbound in Baton Rouge. Without Google, I couldn't find this place. The outside looks like an old warehouse building converted to a restaurant. The parking is under the highway and its NARROW. Once in the restaurant, you feel comfortable and chill. It is a sports theme environment and I love sports and pizza. They have a big screen for the entertainment. They do need to brighten up the projector. Our server was nice and smiling. The garlic knots were amazing with the dipping marinara. The Italian stallion tasted very good with the salad. I started with a simple pepperoni pizza solo and it was as flavorful as any thin crust pizza out there. For this pizza, the pepperoni and sauce were the game changer for me. I'm not sure the sauce is homemade and taste like a lisanti brand sauce. However, I was happy overall with my dining experience and would like to visit again.

Super chill old school pizza place. Awesome bartender. Pizza is really delicious. Will def go back next time I am in town.
Eric P — Google review
We just stopped to have a couple beers and did not realize it was More suited as a place to eat. Very small bar, but enough room for the 4 of us. The manager that took care of us was awesome. We had dinner reservations down the road so we had to leave, but actually came back after dinner for more beers. lol The pizza looked great, so I would recommend going for pizza and beers . One other thing, they have a cool upper level balcony with tables that have an awesome view to watch your favorite game on a huge wall sized TV screen.
Jeff W — Google review
The food is good. But the service needs work. I had to ask for refills. The wait time for a thin crust pizza is ridiculous. I wish this restaurant all the best in there future endeavors
Raeko B — Google review
I was in town for bowling and got great service from Kylie. After a few questions from us, she realized we weren't locals. She was more than happy to answer our questions. Enjoyed the food and will definitely come back if I'm in the area.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Raising Cane’s on Plank Road is a family favorite for us—my son is a diehard fan and could honestly eat Cane’s every single day! We visit so often that the staff knows us by name—me, my son, and even my mom. That personal connection makes every visit feel warm and welcoming. The food is always fresh, hot, and crispy—exactly what you’d expect from Cane’s but somehow even better at this location. The consistency here is remarkable, and we’ve never had a disappointing meal. What really sets this location apart is the stellar staff. I’ve seen some of the employees grow from their first day on the job to seasoned pros, and their customer service has always been top-notch. Whether we swing by after school or, like today, after mass, the experience is always wonderful. If you’re looking for a Raising Cane’s location that combines great food with exceptional service, Plank Road is the place to go. It’s a 10/10 for us every time! Highly recommend!
Quiana W — Google review
First Visit — I'm a Fan for Life! This was my very first time at Raising Cane’s and honestly... I absolutely loved it! The chicken was perfectly crispy and juicy, the Cane’s sauce lived up to the hype (I totally get it now), and the toast? Unreal. Simple menu, but everything was done *right*. The staff was friendly, the food came out fast, and everything tasted fresh. I left full and happy and I'm already looking forward to my next visit. Definitely a new favorite!

Purchased a gallon of lemonade over the weekend. Monday it had mold growing on the top of it. Clean your machines people. I understand what neighborhood you are in but feed us how you want to be fed.
Spanky J — Google review
Everything tasted fresh and was steaming hot! The simplicity of the menu is definitely appreciated for those who get overwhelmed with lots of options. The lemonade is great - not too acidic or sweet. The fries were crispy and not soggy from oil like some places. The sauce is yummy as well. A must try if you like chicken tenders!!
Sofiana K — Google review
So disappointed in the Plank Rd location. I've been loyal since the original location opened near our campus in 1996. This location does not uphold the quality and customer service as other BR locations. The fries were overcooked and the chicken was undercooked. 1st & last time visiting this one. A cheat meal that turned disastrous. I threw the whole plate in the garbage at work. If you decide to go there, check bag before driving off.

Amazon Location on Corner of Airline Hwy & Florida Blvd… Speed of Service was great, food was nice and hot and delicious.. AND the staff was pleasant. Appreciate the new building and that ppl are caring for it well along with the service. You can have a nice massive building with empty & lack luster staff, IT WILL NOT LAST even the food will lack….. HOWEVER like this location, can continuously last FOREVER! Keep that energy high and great. Thanks
