We ordered from Ambrosia for a work baby shower. There was a miscommunication in reference to the date that I needed the items (which could possibly have been on my end), and when I got there, my order was not ready. I needed enough to feed approximately 60 people in an hour. Lynette, Chi, Josh, and Caleb bent over backward to get me sugar-free items, cake, cake squares, and whatever I needed to make the shower a success. Their attitudes were upbeat and positive, and their goal was truly to serve the customer any way possible. This is a rare quality to find in the service industry nowadays. I truly appreciate the effort they took to make the shower a huge success and will recommend them to everyone!!!!

Ambrosia Bakery and their team are simply amazing! In preparation for my son’s birthday—and running short on time—they came through and fulfilled my order perfectly. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. As someone who doesn’t know much about cakes, I really appreciated how they guided me in the right direction to make the celebration special. Thank you for helping make my son’s day so memorable!

I am saddened to say that I will have to end my yearly traditions of getting a fresh strawberry cake from Ambrosia for each birthday, Mother’s Day, and other occasions. On Saturday May 3 @ 3:25 p.m, I purchased what should have been a fresh strawberry cake for my mom and twin brother’s 68th birthday only to find out that it WAS NOT SO FRESH. Sunday was the birthday gathering and when my mom ate a piece of her cake , she realized that the strawberries were SPOILED /SOURED. Due to Ambrosia’s closure on Sundays and State testing on Monday which I called during the break time (phones not allowed during testing) and could only connect to their voicemail . After leaving some messages, I was able to speak with someone Tuesday and I was told that I had to bring the cake in the next day as proof. That seemed easy but I tried to explain that due to State testing ( my students and my children , not to mention this two day storm that is expected to cause major flooding), I would not be able to go and get the cake from my Mom’s house (who doesn’t live near me) and bring it in before their closing time. Her response suggested that she was not interested in the fact that I have been buying, posting, and bragging about their cakes for more than seven years and never had an issue until this incident, which left me wasting $57.48 for a cake that could cause someone to be sick.

Great first time coming here after hearing about this bakery for years and years. Tons to choose from. Cake slices, cake squares, cheese cake bites, donuts, apple fritters, cookies, brownies, turtles, gluten free options, etc etc. Staff were all VERY patient and kind. We came in one hour before closing and were not rushed whatsoever. Can’t believe I visit here sooner after living in Baton Rouge for 20 years!

Ambrosia's signature strawberry cake is to-die-for!! Our family grabs one to celebrate every special occasion. The staff are incredibly helpful and courteous. I recommend this bakery to everyone I know. Try them out! You won't be disappointed.

What are the king cake off-line? It came a day late. Looks like the box have been thrown around like a football cake was all in pieces. Was hoping it would still taste good it was very dry. Hardly any flavor was supposed to be strawberry and cream cheese couldn’t really even taste that Tasted like it had been in the freezer for a month. Do not order a cheesecake from Gambinos.

I am heavily disappointed in Gambino’s Bakery. My Grandmother who has been a loyal customer for many years, insisted on having Gambino’s provide the cake for her 80th Birthday party. This was a huge milestone for her and we were excited for them to provide the cake for her Tiffany and Co themed party. We placed an order in person at Gambino’s and paid in full up front. A few days prior to our event I called to confirm the details and date and time of delivery. When the day arrived, unbeknownst to us, there was a random driver sent to deliver our cake. He arrived earlier than the confirmed timeframe and complained and gripped about it. He had the cake in his trunk. The cake has no covering no protection or anything. The cake also had been damaged from the drive. In addition to that, his trunk had icing and debris all over the back of the vehicle. We were not provided with boxes, nor did the cake have any reinforcement for travel back home. The caterers at our event tried helping us to transport the cake into a random box that we found but it was a disaster. The whole cake fell apart and most of it had to be discarded. We were highly upset but willing to discuss the matter. In the end we were only offered a $100 off the cake price that we paid over $1000 for. We countered the offer and filed a complaint and have heard NOTHING since. As a former restaurant owner, I would never treat my customers (especially a loyal one) in the manner we were treated. This experience definitely changed our perspective and future referrals about Gambino’s.

Listen, I don’t even know where to start, this cake was amazing! My mom loved the way it was decorated. Everyone was going crazy over the frosting, the fact that it wasn’t too sweet but just sweet enough was definitely a hit with us all. Thank you so much for making my mom’s 75th birthday a great day! We will be back soon! P.S. Your employees were amazing from the time I ordered over the phone, and there was no issue when I had to change my original order date. My mom sends her thanks for the birthday wishes🩷🩷

Got another Chocolate Cream Pie for Father’s Day today. If you love Chocolate Pie, Gambino’s has the most delicious pie I have ever eaten. The Chocolate Cream Pie is absolutely fantastic!! It has a rich chocolate flavor that is amazing!!

I had a king cake shipped to my daughter...it ships undecorated to keep it from getting messy. My daughter and sil decorated it and said it was very good. The shipping only took a couple days so it was still fresh tasting when they got it. I would def recommend Gambino's for king cake shipping!

This isn't the Gambino 's of earlier years. At one time at least in New Orleans a Gambino's cake was of high quality . The service was above par. I cannot say that about the BR Gambino based upon my recent experience. The issues began on Saturday when I placed the order. I almost felt as if the clerk was trying to persuade me not to order the cake. Today,I had someone pick up the cake. It was very noticable when I took the cake out of the box that it was lopsided. Yet it was a birthday cake and needed this evening. in the midst of slicing the cake, it collapsed. There was at least 4 inches of frosting applied to cover the uneven cake. Whoever did such a slipshod job should be ashamed of themselves. If the cake did not turn out evenly ,redo it. Shabby work. I will not consider using Gambino 's in Baton Rouge again.

I got my wedding cake here and it was absolutely beautiful. Tasted wonderful and everyone loved it. My only complaint is that we had a delivery window of 2:30-3:30pm and our cake was not delivered until after 4pm. My reception started at 5pm. I also never received a phone call saying that they were running late. So there was added stress to an already stressful day. Not sure if I would go through this bakery again due to the lack of communication. But if you plan to pick up your own cake then maybe.

Our wedding and groom's cake were absolutely perfect! Not only did they look great but they were SO DELICIOUS! The people at Les Amis were so helpful in collaborating on both the design and the correct size to meet our needs. They have tons of other tasty treats in store and I cannot recommend their services enough!

It was my baby's first birthday cake and the cake was amazing and the details were great although there was some confusion in the arrangement but it was the best ever and they were understanding of my situation and the changes I requested✨👍🏻

Can’t wait to update my review when I get my photos back from my wedding, but I couldn’t have possibly been happier with my wedding cake & grooms cakes. They understood exactly what I wanted and absolutely nailed it. The cake was so beautiful and exactly what I asked for, but better. The grooms cake blew me out of the water, it was the best tasting cake I’ve ever had. We chose chocolate banana cake with peanut butter mousse filling, and I had several guests rave to me about it. My DJ even called me personally after to ask about it, because it was THAT good. If you’re searching for a beautiful cake that tastes just as good as it looks, Les Amis is the way to go.

We stopped in for coffee while we were driving through town. We were so glad we chose this place. The service was great. Friendly and helpful batista. She offered good suggestions on the coffee and also the bakery items. We tried various Desserts, they were all excellent. My favorite was the lemon cakes. I highly recommend this bakery for coffee or bakery items. Very fresh, excellent flavors and not excessive sugar.

I ordered a smash cake, cupcakes and a cake for my sons birthday. Nothing was ready on time so went back and only smash cake was ready. Then cupcakes were made wrong so they redid them and cake was still not finished. They did discount cupcakes. So I went back for the 2nd time after pushing the original time back. The cupcakes did not taste good. The cake was decent. I did make the mistake of choosing to pick up the same day of the party so I learned not to do that. But I was overall disappointed in my order because I have ordered and had other things from here that were great.

They did a great job on our baby shower cake! It was beautiful. It was moist and the almond flavor was great!! They were prompt and kind to work with. We picked up the cake topper from them last minute and it worked out wonderfully. I’d definitely purchase from them again. Highly recommend this business.

I haven't visited this store in longtime. I met a guy who make bread and he informed me of the difference type organic bread they sell in Calandros store. I didn't find the vegetable only type. Nice store. Telling it like it IS ☺️ TerryB 🦼

We stopped in to pick up a few things while we were in Baton Rouge to participate in the USBC Open. We found a wide variety of products in every department. Lots of unique brands we normally don't see where we're from. Prices were reasonable and the staff was helpful and friendly.

This is one of two locations of this almost historic local supermarket. They usually have a large stock of fresh produce, huge collection of alcoholic beverages, meat, and fresh seafood, as well as baked goods. There are plenty of gumbo and jambalaya mix brands to choose from. Regular items are a bit overpriced.

Meat selection is quite good, and the other items thruout the store are well worth the visit...people on budgets, you can shop the sale items and not be disappointed...by the way this store has my favorite sausage brand, Savioie's!!! For local shopping its worth every penny to me!!! Staff is friendly, i am a bit unorthodox for certain class of people, but i pay them no mind, ive been them, lol!!!!

11.10.24 came for the first time to buy some donuts... I was greeted and my order was taken care of by the Sweet Asian girl at the counter. I ordered a glazed donut: 1 out of 5 stars I can't explain it, but it just wasn't Sweet enough or didn't have enough glaze probably on it. I ordered a cinnamon roll: 1 out of 5 stars. The cinnamon roll didn't have enough glaze, either...and it lacked cinnamon. The pleasing item that I did try was the eclairs. There were only 2 left, and I bought them both. When I got back home, I tried an eclair (it was my bf's order choice), and it is their definite show-stopper! 5/5 points!!!! I usually don't like eclairs...but the ones made here are delicious!!! If I do return, it'll only be for the eclairs until I find another donut shop that does great with an original glazed donut and cinnamon donut.

Best king cake I’ve had this year! Mouth watering good! And they do the traditional sugar topping ♥️ I will definitely be back for another! Not to mention chocolate stuffed donuts the have are addicting!

So I have been getting my king cakes from here along with all other confections to satisfy my sweet tooth since I moved back home . Pleasant service and delicious treats. Thee first time I visited it was the Sherwood store then I stumbled upon the Highland store and was surprised when I ran into the short lived prairieville one. Oh yeah I’m going wherever there’s a Thee Heavenly! One year I was so frequent the owner gave me a Zulu king cake (chocolate & coconut) how divine. Oh my! If you’ve never tried one allow Thee Heavenly Donut to do the honors! They never disappoints!

The donuts are AMAZING and I wish I could take a couple dozen boudin Kalashas back to our home state. The treats are wonderful, but the people running the shop are pretty awesome too.

I stopped by because a friend of mines told me their breakfast was to die for and she was correct. I ended up ordering an egg white seafood omelette and I was glad I did. It wasn’t pricey and it came with a biscuit and hash browns. The reason I gave 4 stars it’s because I wasn’t asked if I needed napkins, jelly for my biscuit, nor did I have a fork in my bag. I usually check but for some reason I didn’t.

The club sandwich at the deli is a must! For $9.99, you get a very nice size one plus a generous portion of plain kettle chip and meat. Bonus points for pressing it! All of the ingredients are fresh. I can’t wait to try a different sandwich!

I can't say enough great things about Alexander's Highland Market. My mahjong group was looking for a centralized place to meet and play after work and on the weekends. I called Alexander's to ask about their cafe and the manager on duty didn't hesitate to say, "come on over - we welcome all kinds of groups in our cafe area". And boy, was he right! We've seen bible studies, job interviews and other "gamers", to name a few. Not only is the cafe area always clean, but the staff is always so polite and inviting! The cafe area is convenient for grabbing a snack or drink and also just feet away from the restrooms for quick potty breaks. And of course, it's so convenient to grab a few grocery items or dinner on our way home. I've even snagged some lovely gifts from the floral area. If you're looking for a great place to meet up for any event, I would HIGHLY recommend Alexander's Highland Market!! Just be sure to be a respectful guest and leave things as nice as you found them, so we can all continue to enjoy this lovely gathering spot:).

I love shopping at the Alexander’s Market , I haven’t had any disappointing experiences. Store is ALWAYS CLEAN & shelves are stocked. Steak night is always cooked to my satisfaction, thank you. 20240329 A great place for Editable Souvenir shopping!! I got praline pecan rum cake, local coffee, hot sauce, and local tea.

It was the fresh sushi and a sit down restaurant that brought me in. The market had a fancy vibe in it with the handwriting title to every section. The food looked like they were mostly organic and locally grown. The prepared food looked great. I was about to try out the potato soup but couldn’t find any cheaper option other than a $7.99 small container. Yike! I ended up not getting any because it was too expensive for a cup of soup. They seemed to have everything here. The milk was oddly hidden behind the numerous selections of wine bottles. I just bought a few items which were about the same price as Walmart and left. Anyway, my friend and I will be back to try more prepared food.

Best BBQ in Louisiana! The crawfish queso was so good, and they serve it with homemade pork skins to scoop it up with, as well as home made crispy fried chips. This place was amazing! Highly recommend if you're driving anywhere near Baton Rouge you stop and give this place a try.

I finally got a chance to eat here and i enjoyed it. The waiter and staff were kind and courteous. The food was seasoned just right, we ordered the blue cheese bib & steak and the brisket burger. Although I enjoyed my salad, I have been craving that brisket burger it was so good I almost tip the cook. The atmosphere was amazing, relaxing, clean environment, they greet you when you enter, say bye when you leave, everyone was smiling and no long faces. I was on a date so this was the right place for it, it can also be a spot to just have time to yourself or me time as I call it. Would I recommend this restaurant YES INDEED.

It was the evening that we were leaving our son at college and we were breaking down crying. Our waitress was amazing. She brought out their best dessert right on time to try and make everyone feel better. This is our second time there and not only is the food and dessert delicious, the service is impeccable.

Had an excellent experience here. Started with the Pork Debris Spring Rolls. So good. Then ordered the City Pork BBQ Platter for the entree. SO much food. Delicious. Didn't eat it all. Leftovers for several days. Would order again. We will definitely come back and try some of the sandwiches next time. Great service and atmosphere here. The music was also good. The Grateful Dead was playing when I walked in.

Had lunch here with family. Food was great! I had the wild boar chile rellano. The staff was so excited about their perfectly cooked egg on top. It was fun. Had the bacon old fashioned - which to be honest - is pretty gimmicky - and I don't care because I got a piece of bacon. The drink was fine otherwise. We had some house chips on the table with some sort of dip that was great too (sorry dont remember the details). Would love to come back another time.

Was there today for lunch that was a reunion and birthday lunch for an 87 year old friend who traveled from out of state to be with family and friends. I’ve eaten here many times and the food and atmosphere were great as usual, but the server was kind and very attentive. When former Louisiana residents come home they always want to eat at the best places and I was was delighted to introduce her to BB Willow Grove! Over the years I’ve probably eaten nearly everything on the menu. This time I had the tomato basil soup and the seared tuna appetizer. Yum! I think that’s the best tomato basil soup in town!

Went here today for lunch and it was a pleasant experience. Service was good, priced reasonably with good portions and overall good experience. Ordered the shrimp and grits, chicken avocado but and hamburger steak with mashed potatoes and green beans. Everything was good 👍🏽 my only complaint is that the grits weren't hot and we asked for no tomato on the blt, but it still came out with tomatoes on it. Other than that, everything was nice!

I ordered the Pot Roast Creole today to go because I was pressing for time. I was craving this for 3 days. Of course, the food was amazing and did not disappoint! This dish consists of tender pot roast, garlic mashed potatoes with Creole gravy, and fresh green beans. The meat bursts with juice and so much flavor. Every dish cooked to perfection. Might I add, they have the best carrot souffle in town. Hands down! I have to have a side, every time! I also would recommend their Debris Blue Cheese Chips! OMG!

You have to try the salmon. It was cooked to perfection. I ordered it with garlic mashed potatoes and broccoli. Both of the sides were also cooked exceptionally well. The bleu Mac and cheese was too bleu cheesy so I didn’t like it, but that’s a personal preference. We also got drinks off the happy hour menu and they were delicious. The server was really attentive and when we went we were able to have the whole restaurant to ourselves because it was after the lunch rush. The salmon alone is worth the visit.

First time here, my husband and I enjoyed it. The salmon was so flavorful, right along with the veggies that came with it. My husband has the back of house chicken and he enjoyed it. Their drinks are on point and the chips and cheese are good. Everything was hot and came out quickly

A wonderfully delicious from scratch bakery. You can taste the difference of ingredients from the first bite. I encourage you to try the Salted Chocolate Chip cookies!! It’s the best cookie I’ve ever had. But they don’t stop there…the brownie is rich but not overly sweet. Their unicorn bars are a buttery, sweet and fun treat. The king cakes are fantastic (and they ship)!! A newer item, croissant and especially the king cake croissant is insanely delicious. 😋 follow the bakery on Instagram for daily updates on new items and fresh out the oven baked goods! They are also very community focused and host a multitude of events including pop up markets, social media breakfast and many other events. CounterSpace is a true local bakery in the heart of Baton Rouge. 🩷🩷

Egg and bacon biscuit sandwich with cheese was very delicious and very filling. Haven't had a chance to try the muffins yet, but they look delicious. Staff is super friendly. Store is fairly new only open about a year and a half I think, and very clean with comfortable seating.

I bought a grab and go surprise bag. It was a surprise alright. Old hard cupcakes. One squished. Lard ridden bars. Paid almost $8 for 6 tiny old hard items. Horrible. Waste of money and time. All other restaurants/stores give more and fresher. One cupcake looked squished and like no effort was used frosting it. See photos. My first impression is not good. I’ll never purchase again. In response to the owner who replied to me, the food was wasted bc I threw it in the garbage. I didn’t get $25 worth of food. I threw $8 away. Hear me, the all of frosting tasted rancid. It was not suitable for consumption. The cupcakes were hard. The cookie was so hard and also tasted rancid. I made a video of me banging the cookie on the dashboard. I can send it to you. You should not serve spoiled items to people. I did not eat it bc the frosting went bad and the cookie also tasted horrible. If the food literally had not tasted rancid I may have come back. You lost an opportunity to get a new customer. Have higher standards and care for not serving food that may not be safe to too good to go customers.

What a fantastic find! The Government Street location is right by our home and I had the pleasure of stopping in. I passed it so many times wanting to stop and see what it is all about. I love the atmosphere and the changes they made inside. It is a friendlier, inviting, warm space now. The staff were so friendly and helpful! Now let's talk about the food....yummmmm!!! So good! The food was so fresh, was delicious and priced well. Cannot wait to try more of their menu items and bakery goods!

I purchased a cake recently and paid $68 for a 6inch minimal styled cake. I think they should change their website to allow you to send pictures for inspiration. i selected a type of icing style and that was not put on the cake after i told the woman on the phone I wanted that. The workers are not very friendly. I probably will not purchase another cake from them. The flavor of the cake was great! but the service and the execution was ultimately disappointing especially when my birthday cake last year was bigger and more intricately designed and i paid $40 and this one was wayy smaller and barely designed for $68. Personally, not worth it!

First of all I love Rouses. However, the small store on Bluebonnet in Baton Rouge falls short of the quality i have become used to. I will drive miles to go to larger Rouses rather than go to this small store. I wish they would allow me at no charge to fix this store. A good cleaning to begin, teach there boiler how to boil seafood, stock shelves on regular intervals, make sure meat and chicken or in there display without the customer having to ask if it is available and please bring it out from the back and although I have found some employees very friendly and willing to help, others or in need of training on customer service. Fresh Market which is a couple of blocks away does not carry brands that I like, however i will run in from time to time. Store is always clean, managers make it a point to speak to you, employees will go out of their way to help. This is what Rouses should strive for . They have mastered that in there larger stores but , if I had my name on the building I would want that level of service also.

Hey y’all the salad bar here pretty good you should try it. Great to dried fruit options too. I just added some Italian sauce to my salad rouses doesn’t include that in their salad bar, but they do sell it

I wanted to experience a few meals before writing this review. The hot food in the deli is so disgusting that it should be shut down! Not a pinch of seasoning on anything. And everything lacks of flavor.

Eloise Market and Cakery was a refreshing experience! The atmosphere is colorful, clean and open! The snowballs are great and fairly priced - recommend them to add cream flavors like A nectar Cream Snowball:). They also had fantastic cookies that are better than a couple chain cookie specialty shops that I also love, even! I will be back!!!!!

Cake was beautiful, better than I had envisioned. More importantly, it was delicious! Ashley was so kind and cheerful! When I picked up the cake, Ashley and the baker (forgot to get her name) made sure every single detail was perfect before walking out of the store. Ashley made sure my daughter felt extra special on her birthday by speaking directly to her about the cake and if any last minute changes needed to be made. Will be returning! Cons: The person who took my cake order was not mean but also not the friendliest (this is a customer service job), she seemed annoyed that I was there; however, Ashley's kindness and cheerful attitude made up for it when picking up the cake. The inside of the store could use some cleaning up behind the counter and inside the large refrigerator.

So my review was 3.75 and here is why… I booked for me and my two daughters but only one was able to attend. We arrived 25 mins early and went inside their were maybe 8 more people inside already , the initial person of contact ( young girl with dark hair ) greeted us and said you can sit across from each other or side by side but don’t skip seats. My daughter and I chose the last table to the back so I can sit close to the instructor, about 5 mins later another couple came and sat at the end of the table since they were waiting on 2 others to show up. Around 12:40 2 women come in and said they have a table of 7 , the girl that greeted us originally tells me and my daughter to move so the ( late comers can sit together ) I was flabbergasted and lost for words, embarrassing and my daughter and I moved to another table that was holding a seat and so we moved again, my daughter said Mom I just want to go, she said she felt like we had purchased the nose bleed seats and tried to sit in the reserved section (smh) . I made a choice to not the late comers or the young lady that I found out was just the assistant. Now when Maggie ( THE OWNER ) begin the session it was an awesome experience and we were both glad we stayed ! If the top experience never happened , I would give Maggie and the event a 10/10… and yes I would do it again ! She’s relocating and I look forward to see what she has to offer. So I can’t just leave a complaint without a suggestion to clear the complaint: I suggest maybe assigning seats when people register so you know who’s sitting where and people can just come in and find their name or number. And/Or let larger parties know early that they need to arrive with their group if possible to be seated together so the experience is comfortable for everyone. Now on another note… The King Cakes are so good and most !!!

I usually order from Ambrosia Bakery, but since I’ve found this shop I haven’t been anywhere else since. I’ve ordered graduation, baby shower, and birthday cakes! Everything is always fresh, never frozen. The owner is one of the sweetest and most helpful people I’ve ever met. I am always recommending this place to friends and family. I’ll definitely be placing more orders for the holidays!

I ordered a cake for my moms wedding, and it was absolutely beautiful. Exactly what we asked for! Wedding planning is stressful so I had many questions and they were always answered. The cake was made even more beautiful than the references I sent in, and it tasted amazing! They delivered the cake exactly when they said they would. 10/10 recommend! Will be ordering again!

Wow! The owner is truly a professional and has found something so fun to add to Baton Rouge. I participated in the king cake making class and found the value and time very appropriate. It helped that the king cake was delicious and I get to say that I made it (just don’t look too closely because appearance wise it wasn’t my best). However, I learned during this class about different king cakes and really enjoyed that the owner had conversations that felt directed at me even though there were about 40 of us participating all at once. She was attentive and kind and I would certainly consider signing up for her regular cake making classes as well. It was a great time and such a fun and neat experience.

Eloise has been my go to for over a year. When a mishap happened with another baker for my mom’s 60th birthday I was stressed to find someone who could help me on short notice. I contacted Eloise and she immediately got to work! The cake turned out amazing and the turnaround was FAST. Ever since then I go to her for any cake or sweet needs. I’ve gotten my son’s birthday cupcakes from them as well as sweet trays for my baby shower. During this summer I took my son after school to get delicious snowballs. Just an all around amazing shop. She has not disappointed me yet!

The friendly staff were very helpful in my decision of what drink (hibiscus/lemonade) to have with my delicious Piazza Panini, which I easily indulged in the Roasted Pistachio Gelato afterwards. My fur baby was very delighted in the “Dog Gelato” they offer (I took a bitty taste, kinda light peanut buttery taste) Took home some divine loose tea also!!

It’s so refreshing to find an authentic Italian place in Baton Rouge! The atmosphere is cozy and the employees are kind, welcoming, and hard-working. The food was absolutely delicious! We got veggie pizza, lasagna, and the French onion soup. Their coffee was better than any place I’ve ever had. We can’t wait to come back to try their breakfast and gelato, they have so many flavors to try! Definitely come here to support a local business <3

Cute little cafe in a strip mall of other stores, the gelato was a little icy but the coffee was really good, I got the gingerbread latte. They also have pop up bakery’s that come periodically, I would be interested in that for sure ! There is food here as well.

Small Italian Cafe. Gelato, coffees, sandwiches and Italian dishes. I enjoyed a Mango sorbet as others in the party chose the dairy gelato. Every dish was empty. The food dishes smelled wonderful as they brought them to other customers. I spied on a flatbread and it looked kickin. I will have to come with my family to try the flatbread. I wished they had cannolli but do have a cannolli flavored cannolli . One person in the party commented that the hot sandwiches are good.

I get La Divina often for lunch and all has been amazing. This visit was beyond. Disappointing. The pizza was served on sliced bread instead of pizza crust and was beyond soggy. We also got spaghetti and meatballs and the meat balls were so dry and crumbly and the sauce had nothing but a can taste. If I didn’t have them before and know the potential I would never return. Not to mention I bought a soda and it was expired in the beginning of February.

Perfect spot for a cute cozy date. The atmosphere is incredibly warm and welcoming. I had the drip coffee, which was delicious and served at the perfect temperature. The Cinnamon Walnut Coffee Cake was very airy and moist. Definitely will come back to try their breakfast options.

Brew Ha Ha has provided me with my first great gluten free experience ever. Tried the carrot cake, devils food, and yellow cake balls which were very good. Let them come to room temp for the best overall taste. The frozen matcha was a different take on matcha for me, more or less a matcha slurpee. Nice. Best gluten free cookie, I've ever had. Peanut Butter Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies. Awesome flavor and wonderful texture. Give it a try you won't be disappointed.

The coffee is really bad. I had the brewed coffee twice and the americano once and both were watery and had a gross twang to it. I wouldn't criticize normally, but it's a coffee shop and I would prefer it and expect it to have good coffee. Secondly, there is no prices. That drives me nuts. I would like to know how much everything costs before I order.

came in cause I was in town for the morning & wanted something sweet to take back. the reviews were very high for desserts & i was happy to see there was also coffee. I came to this place for the first time today. My husband bought the cake pops from here a few times before and today I went there with him. I didn't expect the ambiance at this place. It was so peaceful. It has the vibes of where people can come to sit around and do their work or have simple work meet or so. I had their iced mocha and my husband had dirty chai - spicy both are right on spot. Loved them. Coming to the cakeballs (cakepops), there are so many flavors. We got a dozen of them with 6 different flavors and all of them were such a hit with my girls. They were asking when can we go back. So need to plan to go back... this place is worth it.

It's been three weeks since my wedding and I still have guests still raving about the wedding cake and the grooms cake! The cakes were so good that at the end of the night nothing was left (I even saw people who swear off sweets go back for seconds!!). I also really appreciated Monica's communication, the variety of flavors to choose from, and how affordable her prices are for the high quality of the cakes. I can't wait to order another one for our one year anniversary!

Came in for lunch with my bestie today and had an awesome experience! Service was prompt in spite of a busy post-graduation lunch crowd, atmosphere was nice (haven’t been since the remodel—it’s so cute!), and food was yummy. We had one small issue with my food, but our amazing server Tanya was able to resolve it quickly and professionally! Thank you Tanya!! We will be back! Edit: the issue with my food was that there was a small bug in it (I wasn’t going to even bother going into it because I thought it was resolved, but apparently not). I was super understanding and Tanya was great and promptly involved the manager (who was also very kind) and got my order remade to go. I was very appreciative! I am a nurse and work nights. I just opened my food (1:30am) to eat lunch at work and there is a literal hairball inside the wrapped up biscuit (see photo). While I was appreciative that my order was remade, I’m now annoyed that there was another issue with my food. Very disappointed in the quality control at Cheesecake Bistro.

Store was well kept and clean, I initially went to make a return for Amazon and decided to pick up a few items. I love that there are always fresh flowers, fruits, and vegetables available. I do wish there was a better selection of fresh meats however everything else is very much so in order. Check out is a breeze and I love that there are multiple registers with actual people as well as self chec out options.

The place for picky people. They have your organic foods and unique brands. Thus, prices are a bit steep, but your Prime membership earns you a discount. You can return your Amazon purchases here. My mom order me a king cake for my birthday. I just moved very north and was craving a little peice of home! She wouldn't say how much she paid for this king cake but I do know it was way to much. I was upset before I even got the cake. They only send cakes once a week, ok. They did not deliver the cake. No call nothing. When she did call they where rude! Cake will be a week late! A week! Finally get the cake I could have let this go with the cheap icing and bags of colored sugar that we decorated with. But the cake is nasty too. No cinnamon in the cake thats not king cake. Tasted like it had been in the freezer for well over the week! Never again! Sorry mom.

I tell you I generally never send stuff back, but ... This cake was so dry, it was like eating chalk. We didn’t even eat it. I returned the uneaten portion, and it was no shock no one was in the place. I asked for the manager and explained that this was not work $70 bucks, and a Walmart cake would have been much better. Great service. I ordered a custom cake for my daughter's 21's birthday. When I picked it up the cake was pretty but not exactly what I wanted. I was going to take the cake anyway. But the employee saw I was not totally satisfied, she said they would make the changes I wanted. Within an hour they called me to pick up the cake. It was beautiful. Everyone at my daughter's party commented on how pretty the cake looked. On top of that, it tasted great. I am extremely grateful that Baum's employee's did everything within their means to make sure I was satisfied with my cake. I was satisfied and very pleased with the cake and the professionalism of the employees. I sincerely thank you.

My Cake was horrible.They didn't listen to anything whatsoever. The design of the cake was garbage. The cake had a crack in it and they mixed up the colors which was horrible. There was no effort in putting the frosting on the it looked like it was just done quickly. They also messed up with the filling. I asked for half coconut half pineapple I got Just Coconut. The Cake was horrible. I paid 50.00 a 10 ' cake. Im a loyal customer that been ordering cakes for 30+ years. They made NO Effort to correct this. I will NEVER ORDER AGAIN -S. Harris

Extreamly disappointed with the location...for all my events i get cakes from this location from a sheet of cake squares decorated to cut out cakes. Last year I brought them a pic of a paw patrol cake and they made it exactly like the picture, it was awesome. I went in today with another picture and it was about 5:40 and I was told that the boss to her to come tell me they could not do the cake for me because I had to order in 72 hours ahead. 10 minutes really! That frustrated me because I do use this place and I like the product but I think we could have came to a better compromise than a flat out no.

I’ve been going to Baum’s over the years and it has been hit and miss. There were times when I purchased an amazing cake, and then there were times that I had an issue with the cake I purchased. Sometimes the cakes are terribly dry. I don’t know if they are old and are sold anyway, but that is a problem. UPDATE: This place has gone completely downhill! Awful! They changed certain recipes, particularly for their eclairs, and that was the only reason for my continued patronage. Not anymore. I’m done.

This is such a special little place. It's homey, quiet, and they make delicious coffee. Their pastries are also delightful! The Old World Toffee coffee is my favorite. I've never had lunch here, but I can't wait to go back and try it!

This place is awesome. The owners are so friendly and the interior is very relaxing. They make some really, really great food. Their chicken salad is different and I always order it when I'm there for lunch. If you catch them when they're having one of their high teas sign up. They do a really fantastic job.

This is my favorite coffee and pastry shop in Baton Rouge. The pastries are homemade and fresh every time I go, and the Matterhorn White Chocolate latte is so good! The staff is so personable and they now know my order whenever I walk in. The only bad thing I have to say about this place is that it isn’t open late!

The vibe is happy, the food is fresh and the patrons are a congenial little group. I love the salads that offer a variety of ingredients and flavorful dressings. The servings are very generous. This is also a great place to drop in for an herbal tea or lemonade and a huge cookie or other pastry.

This cafe is great but it would have been excellent if the store didn't charge as much as 8-9 dollars for a sandwich and a side. The building itself is very nice and is located near the "Visit BR" HQ. I went here for lunch during the early lunch hours, a little after 11 AM so I didn't really have to wait. Now for the food... My friend and I ordered the chicken salad sandwich (each sandwich comes with a side; I chose quinoa and my friend went for the sweet potato chips). You can't go wrong with whichever side you pick. The portions of chicken salad in the sandwich were quite generous but the sliced bread used in the sandwich was the standard size you would find in a store. I was expecting it to be bigger since the lunch cost altogether over 17 dollars. (This wasn't even including drinks). The bread was special though. Instead of the normal options such as wheat or white, the bread they bake has poppy seeds and other ingredients that make it taste great. If you do have the appetite to eat desert, try their plum tart!

Both were generously sized and the flavors were 10/10! I went later in the evening and was able to enjoy sitting outside and loved the lighting/ambience. This is the perfect place to bring a date, family or fly solo!

My friend and I went to Sweet Society’s pop up event at Sweet Baton Rouge yesterday and really enjoyed it! The strawberry cups were too cute, and both the lemonade and strawberry black tea they offered were great. We’re looking forward to going to their actual store in the future!

This little sweet shop is right next to Boru Ramen. It's connected by a hallway. It's decorated nicely and the prices are reasonable. My honey and I enjoyed our "ice cream," although it didn't have the texture of traditional ice cream. It was very tasty.

Best experience in Baton Rouge for Japanese ice cream. They are always adding seasonal items along with new flavors. The ube is amazing, and we always have to get an order of taiyaki pockets with cheese to bring home....best grilled cheese sandwich. Lately, they have been offering various Dole flavors such as mango and lime......so good mixed together with the custard taiyaki. The drinks are very good as well. Do not miss out on this amazing ice cream experience. It is worth the drive.

Delicious and fun dessert items featuring "exotic soft serve" ice cream, sorbets, and delicious fish-shaped objects stuffed with your choice of tasty additions then cooked to order. They also have an array of Asian bagged sweets and treats for sale, some of which were familiar and some I had never seen before. They are conveniently located around the corner from City Roots coffee shop if you like coffee with your frozen treats. The shop faces a public area within the Electric Depot footprint providing nice outside seating. Well worth the trip!

One of the best ice cream experiences in Baton Rouge area. The freshly made waffle pockets add a whole new dimension to the ice cream cups. The place is nicely decorated and and the staff is very friendly. You can try from various flavors they offer.

Local downtown market/mini grocery store had a little of everything one would need from hot food to groceries to wine, spritzers, Blue Bell ice cream to fruit/produce, meat and dry/canned goods. Friendly service and very convenient.

Was looking for a nearby market to buy some fresh fruit and some other items to eat a quick dinner at the hotel and Matherne's was perfect. It was a Friday evening and the drive was only 10 minutes from our hotel and since it was the evening, downtown parking was not difficult and we actually found free street parking. They had a wide variety of items for a small city store. We found fresh cut-up pineapple and watermelon, hummus and pita chips, refrigerated Panera brand soup to heat up in the microwave, and some fresh sushi and some bottled beverages. Prices were not that bad considering we were shopping in a city market in downtown Baton Rouge, just a little bit more expensive. You can also take a quick walk over to the Mississippi river before leaving the downtown area. The store is very clean and safe and it actually has a huge wall safe in the store so this building must have been a bank at one point.

One of the most essential things we have downtown. Super friendly staff, and a full grocery store with everything you need. I love being able to bike or walk over and just grab something real quick. Without them, all we'd have would be the bodega downtown (which I also appreciate!) and that's no substitute for a grocery store.

Coffee Call was so good, I found myself back the very next morning! What started as a quick stop for a classic beignet and café au lait turned into a full-on food experience. During my first visit, I ended up trying the turkey po’ boy and a comforting bowl of chicken noodle soup—and I’m so glad I did. Like the beignet here. But some recently visiting made me disappointed. I bought a chilli soup and I just want a bowl to heat it up. The cashier lady Linsey (I dont know name spell correct or not) tell me to wait for her to finish customer line (long line) behind me, then she will get me a bowl. This is not the first time she did it to me. Why she couldn't grab a bowl for me immeadiatly? Is is because I'm an Asian? Complained to supervisor and have the answer that they are busing so that they cant get a bowl. I have to ask another girl to get me that bowl. No respect, no come back

This is one of my favorite places in the world. When last I lived in Baton Rouge, Coffee Call was in the same shopping center where the Wal Mart is now. Obviously not that large, but it was larger. This site retains the style and charm of the older shop. Fresh coffee, beignets, hot chocolate, beignets -- the menu is longer than that, but without the tortuous specificity of that place with the evil mermaid. You go here for a good cup of coffee and a conversation with friends, or to read a good book, or work a crossword puzzle in the paper. There is no place like it in the world and I feel happier just knowing it exists. You should spend some time there, really. You'll be happier if you do.

We wanted coffee on our way oit of Baton Rouge so we stopped here. It seems like a nice local coffee shop. Everyone was nice. We had 2 coffees and 2 orders of beignets. The bignets are a nice size. They were making them as we waited.

From the hostess stand to the waitress Amy, the service was impeccable. We had the two egg breakfast, the two pancakes alone, and the three Benedicts-triple threat. Everything was delicious. It was so much food we couldn’t quite finish, and we shared. We had one of each Bloody Mary’s. They put bacon in them which is always my favorite part! Bathrooms were clean and the parking at 9 am on Saturday was easy. When we left at 10 the parking lot was full and there was a wait inside. Good place to stop in and eat. Highly recommend!

Hadn't been to Mason's in years. But back in town for a mini reunion. Food is still good, our server was pleasant and the atmosphere was regular Sunday morning. It gets packed quickly so use the online waitlist if you don't plan to get there within an hour of opening.

Fried mushrooms were great, fried pork chop was good. I was disappointed in there macaroni and cheese see included photo. Very disappointed with my chicken tenders they were over cooked.

Excellent Louisiana/Southern Style Restaurant. The owner’s wife makes a great homemade cheesecake. Would highly recommend.

I ordered the Not Your Ordinary Shrimp & Grits with broccoli and a breadstick for takeout and it was all so good! I could taste the cajun seasoning throughout the shrimp and grits! I enjoyed the broccoli and breadstick too! I highly recommend getting some good dinner from here!

It is rare for me to give five stars for food, service and, atmosphere. This restaurant is one of those rare occasions. Not being a franchise means an excellent dining experience! Came here for lunch, friendly staff, food was delicious, and the atmosphere (in the midst of LSU graduations) was nice, not crazy or hectic and not too loud.

Ok so I went back I have to recant my previous statement this time I went with the turkey burgers and frites and a cup of gumbo and yes it was like that so good I would recommend this spot now giving it a five. The food absolutely not check the videos now the staff is so good I mean wonderful but I would have to try something else but as of now no I will definitely give another review after I try a sandwich or something but that salad wasn't it.

I've only gone twice so far, and each time, I've had no issue finding a place to park in the back. There's outdoor dining if you want to bring a pet or feel like enjoying the sunshine, and of course indoor dining as well. As for the servers: they're wonderful! They can certainly help you with recommendations or even just a great conversation! Lovely people and spirits there. I enjoy the food, and my absolute favorite thing to eat is the carrot soufflé.

Portions were small and relatively expensive and the taste mediocre, super slow kitchen, but the server was great and the venue is pretty nice. Not many vegetarian options.

This is going to be a new spot for me. One of my favorites in BR! My order was the Pot Roast & the Cool as a Cucumber (mocktail). The drink was so refreshing and flavorful! The cucumber added such a light flavor to the semi-sweet strawberry purée and it was bubbly. I will definitely be ordering that again. The pot roast was absolutely BOMB. It was FIRE. The meat was extremely tender, the potatoes were soft and even though it had potato skins it wasn’t a different texture. It didn’t have too much garlic in it and the gravy wasn’t too spicy. The whole meal was perfect and complemented everything so well! Also the atmosphere and building is beautiful. There is outside seating available as well!

Had the Croque Byronz, which I had never tried. It was good but I expected more of a toasty sandwich. The Blue Cheese chips were too salty. We didn’t know if it was because the chips were salty or the cheese.

The Cubano and Turkey & Avocado sandwiches were great! Served with homemade potato chips. The serving size is enough for two people per sandwich (saved half for later). Quick and friendly service. They also sell a variety of packaged sausages and freshly sliced bacon among other goods. It appears they submitted for a permit to serve alcohol (sign on window). In the meantime, enjoy a Swamp Pop

That has to have been the best Mac and Cheese I have ever eaten. By some margin. Wow! The brisket was good, as was the pulled pork, and I enjoyed the coleslaw and the sweet BBQ sauce. But the Mac and Cheese. I think I'll be back. It was kind of weird sat outside right next to I10, but the rumble of the passing traffic quickly dropped into an inoffensive background white noise. I prefer not to think about what the traffic fumes we doing to me. The wait staff were bright, friendly and competent.

Came here for the first time recently and it was great! I had the wedge salad and added chicken, which was delicious. I can't wait to come back try their nachos, which are served on seasoned potato chips. They looked really tasty. The staff was also very friendly and helpful, they gave some good recommendations for newcomers like myself. I'll be back for sure!!

One of my favorite spots in baton rouge. I haven't had anything from the menu that I don't like. Their sandwiches and boards are fantastic (favorites are Cuban and NY pastrami), but try their brunch (read: grits bowl). They also vary their menu with "Take Home Tuesday" (robust meal for 4) and unique all-you-can-eat dinner offerings several times a month. Plus the staff is always super friendly and helpful. Check them out!

Though the quality here is normally strong, the dishes are sometimes hit or miss. For example, I went to the buffets they host on Fridays on a regular basis and always felt that I got my money's worth and then some. The foods are delicious and the price is great, for the buffets. However, I have been very disappointed other non-buffet times. I once went here for their version of a BLT to get some kind of stale bread and clearly stale chips. I love their chips, so I was pretty let-down. More recently, I went to get nachos and a side of mac and cheese. I love their nachos, but there have been a couple of times when the cooks went scant on the toppings, and they did so this time, especially the meat (I went for the smoked beef option). While what I did get was really tasty, I was sorely disappointed by the stinginess: there were around 6 moderate-sized slices of beef and a lackluster amount of coleslaw. So these nachos were not satisfying like in previous times, and they were a clear contrast. I believe they SHOULDN'T be, especially when they are around $12 a pop. Moreover, I was expecting the portion of mac and cheese to be a bit bigger than around a cup for the price of $7. I mean, it was delicious, but $7 for about a cup??? Never again. I remember this one instance in which family was visiting from out of state and I was excited to take them to City Pork because I've had nothing but great experiences with them. I was very, very disappointed when the food that I and they received was lackluster. I had hoped to take them to this great restaurant and give them a delicious memory that they could draw back on, but they weren't impressed, unfortunately. Overall, I will give City Pork a couple of more tries and hope that they deliver. This restaurant mostly puts out great food, and this will let you down when they don't--especially at the price they do.

Great food, decent prices, large portions - some of the items can feed 2! It's City PORK, so you can expect Carolina style sauce as the default. However, they do have chicken and beef items as well as several other sauce choices at a condiment bar. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu, and while they do offer traditional BBQ plates, it's nice to see interesting items like boards and salads as well. Only drawback is that the outdoor seating is just about ruined by the interstate noise - doesn't affect the inside though. My pro tip: sauce the chips!

Appreciation for the atmosphere and for the service. We were greeted, sat and serviced quickly and respectfully. My daughter ordered the chicken katsu and I explored the tempura The tempura was a healthy portion, fried well and came out hot! My daughter's katsu was sizeable and was prepared well too. It was her first time having katsu and she was impressed We appreciated the complimentary cucumber salad as well as the pineapple at the end of our meal One downside we noticed was the sauces - tempura dipping and the katsu sauce seemed to have a smoky flavor, which we are not used to The business seems to be a fave in the community as we saw them preparing lots of to-go orders We initially came in to try the sushi but we're a Lil put off by the pricing Sushi in Baton Rouge should not run $20/roll. WOW! 🤩 My taste buds are singing praise to this establishment. The whole experience was amazing and service was exceptional. Our server Chris had a smile and brought his A game for sure. The Lobster roll had delicious fried juicy lobster and the Tempura Calamari and Edamame were perfect and traditional. If you want authenticity, and something on par with Tsunamis or Mansurs On The Boulevard but a price that makes sense then please take your time to visit this establishment and pay respect to your taste buds.

Some of the best sushi in Baton Rouge. Consistently good! Very busy so plan accordingly. All the rolls are good. Cucumber appetizer very tasty even if you aren’t a big cucumber fan. Service is fast and friendly. Check this out if you are in the area!

This is a sad review to write but I am a bit blindsided. I loved Sushi Yama so much until tonight and was even a bit of a booster for it. I've had sushi all over the world and was consistently blown away by the freshness, cut, art, etc at this unexpected BR gem. Even tonight, the scallop, flounder (with shisho), and red snapper were all impeccable. I also got an order of uni, one of my most favorite things to eat. And ... it was spoiled. Now even that is not a huge deal to me on top of a great meal. I discreetly mentioned it to the server, thinking I was alerting her so noone got sick and was told, "oh they don't like to take charges off." Which they didn't (though they added a little bit of flounder) and I walked away feeling really weird and down on the place, even after raving about it the server during the beginning of the meal. I've worked in restaurants and it's pretty bizarre to charge someone for spoiled food they sent back. I made clear I really love uni lest they thing I just decided I didn't like a new flavor - the real issue was a slightly caustic chemical burn and a note of ammonia that I recognized from an experience with bad scallops once. But also, I didn't even mention money back and that wasn't my first concern. So I kind of stumbled into learning that even in the case of spoiled food, they don't refund you or take the "blame" and it just instantaneously turned me off - why would I eat at a place like that, even if they've previously been my go to? C'est la vie and thanks for all the much better meals I had there, anyways.

Everything tasted great. Those that ordered an entree had their food brought out, while those that had sushi rolls waited and waited. The entrees were completely eaten before the sushi rolls ever came out. Staff apologized, but why bring out part of the meals.

NEW FAVORITE SPOT!! My first time at Yama was a 10/10 experience. I had the V Roll and and it literally MELTS in your mouth absolutely my new favorite roll in Baton Rouge. The other one behind the Vroll is the Okinawa roll which was simple but good. Abe was our server and he was the best! So patient, helpful and suggestive. He took great care of my dad grandma and myself. He made sure everything was go our liking and even brought us some fresh pineapple after our meal! I will definitely be back and I can’t wait to try the Atlantic Salmon next!

The food was just ok, no wow factor. The woman taking orders for take out was RUDE and unprofessional! Save your money and go somewhere else. This was my first and last time in this restaurant. The lady ahead of me experienced the same thing, I should have left at that moment.

Good and fresh food for a buffet! Plenty of options. Yes, they have sushi and hibachi! Service was quick and polite. I went at around 1pm on a Tuesday and paid $13.99 per person (not incl. drinks) I also took a drive thru combo meal (shrimp & veg, fried shrimp, noodles, egg roll, + fried donuts) home to my sister. She said she liked it. So for the $21.73 I paid for the buffet I was told THEY CANT COOK THE STEAK WELL DONE. So if you come here be prepared for the food to be bloody. Crawfish was nasty tasted like pure water. The ribs wasn't hitting on nothing and last but not least they have some dry ass rolls. Save your money and go to golden corrall.

Fresh light donuts made in house. This is a classic donut shop that has maintained quality. Definitely worth a try. The plane glazed was outstanding.

Placed my order at 8:51 am. 2 glazed donuts & a jalapeño gnocchi. I was desperate & hungry…only place to get breakfast quickly near my nail salon. Once again they gave me cold donuts & a dry gnocchi. In addition, their donuts are way smaller than the other Mary Lee’s location…not sure what that is about. I returned the food to them and didn’t even ask for a refund. No one offered me hot fresh food, no one apologized, they could care less. If you do not go there first thing in the morning OR if you’re not ordering a large order…you will NOT receive hot fresh food from this location. I will stick to the Jones Creek & Jefferson Hwy locations. FYI: the owner was looking dead in my face when I returned the nasty food.

Always 5 stars. Hometown donuts are the best donuts. I grew up eating Mary Lee donuts on Sunday after church and every single time I’m back in Baton Rouge, I make sure to get 2 glazed, hot from the fryer.

Placed an order , delivery said it was received but never did. I try calling the courier and no one answered so I called the store and there was pretty much nothing they can do but a refund. The delivery is with Nothing Bundt Cake but somehow they can’t get in touch with the driver. I ask if they could send out another order but she said there was nothing left for the day. Place another delivery order 10 minutes after and it was available so we will see if it delivers.

Placed a large order of 60 cakes for Delivery. Paid for delivery. after the cakes were over an hour late, we called and there was no one even aware that the order had not gone out. No one had an explanation. Said that they could "try" to find a delivery person but couldn't promise anything. I told them we would head out to pick them up ourselves. It took almost 30 minutes to get there and once I walked it, the order wasn't even packaged and ready. It took them another 10 minutes to the put the order together. The ladies working the front register had no idea about the order and were more concerned with figuring out who was taking lunch hour now or later. Once we got the orders, there were tons of black flecks of something all over the plastic containers in the Vanilla box. We had to use keyboard duster sprayers to get whatever the debris was off the of boxes before we sent them out. Our first attempt to use them for a corporate event. Very disappointed in the experience. The manager was kind but in the grand scheme of things, no one really cared that that order was a blunder. I suggested that they remove delivery off of their website because nowhere does it redirect to Uber Eats etc and it just makes the store look at fault. We used them specifically for the delivery option

the employees are super friendly, However when I drive 35 minutes for one $70 cake with a sunflower in the middle. I'd like to get home and see the flower in the middle 🙄 . ended up having to drive 35 minutes BACK to this store to get the flower Wich is the center peice of the cake, extremely inconvenient. We will be back for another try later on BUT i will have to see them open the box before i leave .

It’s unfortunate for nothing Bundt to advertise biscoff and never have it available for purchase at the Baton Rouge location on a daily basis. I’ve checked EVERY day this week including today and they’ve never had it. And to tell customers they sold out when they never had it is dishonest.

We stopped by the store today and purchased eight bundtlets as gifts for my team. While the cakes are always great, the customer service we received was disappointing. The staff member with the glasses who helped us appeared visibly frustrated and rushed through interactions, not just with us, but also with the customer ahead of us, which included a child who was abruptly dismissed. Sidenote, the lady that actually packaged the cakes was super helpful just not the associate ringing our order up. After our purchase, I realized I forgot to ask for cellophane bags and ribbon to package the bundtlets nicely. My fiancé went back in to ask, and the response was a curt “no” with no explanation or alternative offered. It would’ve been helpful to at least be informed of any store policy in a polite way. We understand policies are in place, but the overall experience felt unnecessarily cold. A little more warmth and enthusiasm could really go a long way especially when customers are coming in for celebratory or thoughtful purchases. Try to make hating your job a little less miserable in public. Thanks.

The white raspberry bundt was soooooooo good. It is a very busy location and I can see why. It’s amazing they give a free bundt for your birthday.

Been wanting to visit this place for a long time finally had the opportunity and mane was I….. disappointed. Besides the water ordered an old fashion mediocre must is say no identity at all. Started with the boudin balls as an appetizer ( well orderd an appetizer which came out with the rest of our order . Bummer! Wife ordered the chicken sandwich with the side of grits. The first bite of chicken sandwich she says it had no flavor . I ordered the sausage biscuit with (honey butter!) and a side of potatoes. Wife did not like the potatoes she mentioned they are dry! Hmm I thought they were pretty good myself had a lil smoky flavor to them . As you can see my biscuit was super dry. I called the waiter over to ask about the SMOKED honey butter , oh I’m sorry we are out of the smoked honey butter ! So here’s a flew slices of lard. Omg a completer horrible experience. Oh almost forgot the boudin balls are amazing came out piping hot a ten in my book ! And the grits were are delicious . The boudin balls and the grits saved the day . Phewww. The bartenders were incredible and very knowledgeable. The music carried the vibe of the earthly environment perfectly and made me feel like I was living in a garden paradise. Truly a place like no other in the greater Baton Rouge area and I have been praising this establishment’s atmosphere for years. The only issue I had was the lack of food options that are suitable for a clientele base that takes their health into account. The drinks, environment, service, and location are awesome but I wish the culinary options included a more plant based audience without forcing us to eat hummus (like EVERY other place) or a leafy green salad (YAWN). Less fried, more grilled, please! Overall amazing experience except the food options.

I came in alone and sat down quietly before anyone else at the bar. Two ladies were working behind the bar and both awkwardly ignored me and only acknowledged the men who entered in DIRECTLY behind me. It was the strangest thing because it was intentional- they deliberately avoided eye contact. I was left seated alone with no acknowledgment. I expected at least a “hi, one moment” or something decent considering I came in alone at 10:50 a.m. The place opens at 10:30. Instead, they ignored me and addressed the guests who came in and sat down after me. Customer service is terrible, so i hope the food is worth it. will not be coming back and will not be recommending this place to anyone. most awkward solo birthday brunch with the weirdest people i have ever experienced.

One of my daughter's favorite local spots. After our visit, I can see why. Really cute garden oasis, complied with great service, food, and drinks. We only planned to stop in for a drink but ended up ordering food as well. If you're a beer fan, they have a large selection of beers with helpful guides to pick your favorite. Would definitely go back and try some other menu items and cocktails!

Pork chop breakfast used to be everything…grits , eggs (any style) and toast/biscuit. Haven’t been here in some years… Now they don’t make your eggs over medium and the toast or biscuit is extra. Really? After paying 10.99 plus tax, you should be able to get things the way you want… my pork chop was tough too.

Don’t order from them unless you intend on hanging up in their face because they got your order wrong twice and within days of each other, I ordered the breakfast plate with a biscuit and a sausage patty. The first time they said, they didn’t have the sausage patty so they gave me a nasty sausage link, which I would not have took, I would have took bacon. The second time I ordered from them, before I order, I called up there to make sure they have sausage patty and I advise them last time. My biscuit was cold so why this time, I didn’t get the biscuit, I got toast instead, ordered a sausage, patty, instead I got a sausage link and when I called up there, they proceeds to say I do apologize, the sausage link was on they part, they messed up, but we are out of biscuits so we gave you the next bread available, it makes no sense. Yall should’ve called me. Not purchasing again

Poor service, dirty run down restaurant . Male employee EXTREMELY RUDE AND IRRATIONAL ! I ordered pork chop breakfast i paid $17 dollars for with an extra pork chop. I called the restaurant to share my experience not request a refund or replacement. He became irate and hung up in my face. My pork chops were burned , dry , hard/overcooked. I requested extra seasoning they were barely seasoned. I was told 10 minutes and waited 35 with no complaint. He offered me 2 free donuts since i was told to wait. I accepted and waited quietly. Also, at that price. A center cut chop is expected not the cheapest thing you could find at the local piggly wiggly.

Service is usually quick w deliveries, but I ordered pork chop, eggs, and rice plate. Waited 30 minutes. The man was really nice in speaking w me about my wait. The porkchop was extra salty. Eggs and rice were not good at all. It was not worthy of 18.00 plate. As well as I waited for my order patiently, it takes patience when dealing with customers. Thank you, sir. P.S. I've managed food and beverage restaurants for 25+ years. You can order through door dash, but there is a difference. One is called a mobile order, which comes from my personal order, and one is a door dash order that comes from other customers to get a better understanding, etc... I understand in moving a line but always be polite.

Customer service is horrible. Asked to make my eggs scrambled instead of runny and whole and was just given my money back. Ordered egg and rice seems like they just added Cayenne pepper or jalapeños or something so I don’t feel like it was worth the 15.39…. pork chop was ok but once again it was too spicy the egg and rice didn’t taste like egg and rice at all just something they hooked up . Will not be ordering that again , overall the speaker was broken but the speed was fast also the lady was eating right in my face and working at the same time didn’t wash hands or nothing but touching the utensils . I’m not over exaggerating I promise

Very good store. Used to be my absolute favorite. The hot food was one of the best things about it. But now, they shut it down at 3:00. On top of that, majority of the beer and every last drop of liquor completely disappeared. Barely have a reason to go anymore. Still a very good store though until the recent changes.

Robert Market is a nice little store. We picked up a couple of rib-eyes. The only problem I had was with their cashier. The cashier totally ignored us, would not talk to us. On the bright side, those rib-eyes are the best rib-eyes we've had since moving to Baton Rouge. If you want a good steak, come here.

I love the store. Customer service is always on point. Rikita(I hope I am spelling her name right) truly helped me out when I forgot to order the cake for my granddaughter's graduation. Even though it was last minute that was a beautiful and delicious cake.

Just recently moved to a neighborhood that's very close to this store. I've been here several times and I love it. They have lots of specialty items and high quality stuff that you don't find in other stores. Also very conveniently located. They have a bakery and a meat counter deli. They also even have a sushi station where sushi is made fresh daily. We also have a hot items deli counter and a salad bar that includes several specialty items as well. Highly recommend checking this place out. They also have wine specials every weekend.

Like most local grocery stores, the prices are a little steep on some items. However, I appreciate the quality of their produce and their deli lunch options. They have some of the most beautiful produce. The deli lunch options are reasonably priced and have a variety of options to choose from. I've, also, on occasion found some packages of well cut lean meat there. Most of their staff is friendly and helpful.

Superior salad bar. Best fried catfish ever. Very good lunch specials. Excellent cooks. Has CCs coffee bar. Employees are very courteous and helpful. My daughter and I have to go there at least once a week for the salad bar.

I was happy to see there was a location in Baton Rouge on Perkins! Flavors: Cookies and Cream, Chocolate Cheesecake, Lemon, Circus Cookie, and Lemon Blueberry. Depending on the flavor, some of the cookies were soft, thick, and doughy. The best one is the Chocolate Cheesecake! I love the ganache and whipped cream. I wasn't blown away about the baked treats, but I can tell these were made with love. A solid experience.

We were greeted by a friendly smiling face in the very clean and bright bakery. The cookies all looked so delicious. It was hard to choose, so we got 4 different kinds and we split each one. They were all yumy! Definitely going back. Caution: When the cookies are gone, they close the doors. Closed Monday and Tuesday at Perkins Rowe.

Birthday cake sandwich is by far the best. This cookie needs to be on the permanent menu. Carolines destroys Crumble Cookie and is priced way more affordable than Crumble. I am not understanding some of the silly reviews that are negative and unwarranted. We go here almost every week. That is how good it is. Just trust me, on that Birthday cake sandwich though. It is a must try and the best cookie in my opinion

Waited an hour in line for the December flavors and so worth the wait. Some of the best cookies I’ve ever eaten. Most definitely thick and gooey like they say. You fill out a card with how many cookies you want so ordering process is easy.

As the founder and CEO of Amoree’s Journey, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to children with complex medical needs, I’ve been through enough to know when something feels off. Today, inside Cake Goddess, LLC in Baton Rouge, something absolutely did. I needed a birthday cake for my daughter. Her celebration had been postponed, so we were grabbing something simple and ready-made. A stock cake with her name on it would have been perfect. I wasn’t being picky. I wasn’t making a fuss. I just wanted her favorite color… hot pink… for the writing. The woman behind the counter showed me two shades. I preferred the darker one but was concerned about the taste. Red dye, as most people know, can have a bitter, unpleasant aftertaste. I asked if she could dab a little of the icing onto something so I could check it. Not to eat… just to see the color and maybe smell it. She looked at me like I had asked her to ice a ten-tier cake during a hurricane. Then she took the piping bag… wiped it on a trash bag inside a trash can… squeezed some icing onto a fork… and handed it to me. I didn’t taste it. I simply looked at J, the nurse who was helping with the cake, and asked her which color looked better. She chose the lighter one, and that’s what we went with. After we paid, I asked if the woman could toss the fork for me, since there was no trash can in the customer area. She picked up the same trash can and held it out for me to drop it in. I cannot say for sure whether this was racial bias, poor judgment, or sheer carelessness… but I can say with confidence that I will never return to Cake Goddess. If it had been my money, I would have walked out. No question. But J was covering the cake… so I let it slide. That doesn’t mean it was right. No one should ever be handed food or even food decoration that came from something wiped on a trash bag. That is not just unsanitary… it is unacceptable. This wasn’t just about a cake. It was supposed to be part of a celebration for a medically fragile child who has faced more challenges than most adults ever will. And instead of joy, I walked out with frustration, disappointment, and a heavy feeling in my chest. To the owner… this should never happen to anyone. Not ever again.

I ordered a first birthday cake and paid $193. I Live 9 minutes from the store. Came home and put it directly in the refrigerator as instructed. They recommend getting it out of the fridge 1 hour before you want to eat it. I took it out of refrigerator and put it on the table and with in 30 minutes it started bubbling on the side. The Owner said they can’t control the heat outside so if the cake melted there is nothing they can do. However, this problem was not a cake that was melting from heat. I live 9 minutes from their shop. This cake was having problems from the buttercream not sticking to the cake. I’ve never had a cake bubble up like that. Then after a little while longer, a whole piece of the buttercream came completely off the cake. This did not happen to the buttercream on the smash cake and so it was not a heat issue. It could have been something from the cake being too hot or cold when they put the buttercream on because the icing came off clean from the cake. No icing does that. Was there no crumb coating? It’s disappointing a local shop doesn’t stand behind their work. Things happen and to not take responsibility is sad. Buyer beware because it was embarrassing to have a cake look like this at such a special event!

By far this cake was the best it was super delicious super fresh it came out of the show case it was better than any cake Ambrosia‘s have , ambrosia cakes in there showcase never fresh. Cake Goddess get a💯💯💯💯💯💯💯

Ordered a strawberry cake last minute for my girlfriends birthday. The ladies at Cake Goddess nailed it. Everything was perfect. The cake was delicious and gorgeous. The frosting was amazing. I will definitely be using this bakery again. A++ work.

I ordered a Smash cake and cupcakes for my little girl’s first birthday and they were both a hit! The adults devoured the delicious almond cupcakes and my daughter had a blast tearing into her cake. The cake was almost too cute to destroy!

I ordered a King cake from them and it was $20! The king cake was very good. It was baked very well and was fluffy and not dense like some king cakes are. It wasn’t too sweet and did not have an extreme amount of cinnamon.

I called to get a traditional king cake. The lady on the phone said they have it available to purchase. When I arrive to the bakery, it was fresh out of the oven. Very fluffy and taste great! Highly recommend this place!

I lived here in 2013 and bought a couple cakes from this place that were good. However, now 2021, regarding the interior, not very delightful, fake pastries and cupcakes in the window, nothing fresh…looks scary. I went in for a pie but they didn’t have any. I ordered a Napoleon even though I was skeptical and I should’ve gone with my instincts. They assembled it while I waited, and literally came up to the front to grab some Hershey’s chocolate syrup. It was $4.39, which I wouldn’t mind paying for a quality bakery item but as you can see in the image, this is not that, and the taste is subpar at best. Save your money and go somewhere reputable.

Went in to get a last minute cake & the owner was very nice & accommodating. Decorated one on the spot while I waited & it came out beautiful. And tasted soooo good!! The almond wedding cake flavor was delicious!

As an out of town visitor, this was truly the best experience walking into an unknown to us bakery. The staff was so sweet and accommodating. Before we bought a Leches cake they let us sample a piece at no cost to us. They were able to take our order for a custom cake to be picked up the next day. I highly recommend this establishment ❤️

We have stopped by this place a few times to pick up treats. This time I asked the nice lady if she could make my wife and son a birthday cake. When we went to pick it up, I was so impressed with the presentation of the cake. It looked perfect. We brought the cake to a restaurant for the birthday dinner. The cake tasted absolutely amazing and received many compliments from people who saw it. I could not be happier with this purchase and I will not be buying a cake from anywhere but here in the future. Fantastic job on the cake and excellent customer service!!

I would give 1000 stars if I could. Very friendly and accommodating staff. I had to get a cake short notice due to an unfulfilled order at a different place. By short notice I mean I need it for tomorrow! One of the ladies let me taste a sample because my father doesn’t like cakes that are too sweet. It was perfect. I’ve always mentioned this place to friends and I’ll continue doing so. Love this place! And they have ice cream, nachos, baked goods, among other treats!

The cake itself was absolutely beautiful and delicious! Not too sweet. My only issue was the smaller cake was supposed to be strawberry filling and the bigger cake was supposed to be Oreo and they did it backwards.

After calling around to several different bakeries I decided to check this one out. I am so glad I did because they were great!! The staff were friendly and really listened to what I was looking for. They let me sample a few cakes, regular and leches, before making my big purchase and I loved everything I had. The cake they made me was beyond perfect and everyone enjoyed it. I will purchase from them again FOR SURE!!

As others have noted it is a bit up there with the price point, but to me it is worth it! The staff is always warm and welcoming when you first open the door, they do their best to help you understand what flavors they offer, and always patient when you can’t make up your mind. I’ve been a few times but only have 2 photos from the last time I went. I got red velvet, pecan pie, and the chocolate. Also picked up some pupcakes for my 2 puppers. One pupcake was definitely enough to where I can cut it in half and had them share one half. -Red velvet was moist and the icing was smooth. -Pecan pie was a little dry on the outside but inside it was soft (not too soft) and creamy and I love the little bits of pecans in it! It’s a must have for this season. -Chocolate was a little too sweet for my liking but it’s a favorite with friends. They said it was like melting chocolate in their mouths and they wish they could have more. Cupcake Allie is more than 12 miles from where I live and I usually stop by when I’m on campus. But there’s the occasional cupcake cravings and I will drive that 12+ miles just for their cupcakes!

First, let me say that the pecan pie cupcake is the best cupcake made at Cupcake Allie! After enjoying this particular cupcake, I ventured into trying others. To be honest, Cupcake Allie’s cupcakes, outside of the pecan pie cupcake, are very dry. I don’t understand how the bakers don’t realize this. When I initially tried the other cupcakes and noticed the dryness, I thought it may have been a fluke, but subsequent visits rendered dry cupcakes as well. At that point, I gave up. I only go to Cupcake Allie when I’m in the mood for a pecan pie cupcake. For all of my other cupcake needs, I primarily go to Cake Goddess and occasionally, Cupcake Junkie. They have far superior cupcakes. I think that if Cupcake Allie remedies the issues with dryness, their cupcakes will be better!

unimpressed Response to owner: We purchased two chocolate and two vanilla for $12. Your cupcakes were moist and dense with lots of icing. However, three skilled home bakers decided the cake mixes do not taste like they were from scratch. The chocolate icing was flavorless with the consistency of play dough. The vanilla icing was more confectioner's sugar than anything else. The chocolate cake also lacked flavor. The vanilla cake was flavorful but a little on the dry side. We were happy to pay $12 for gourmet cupcakes, we just expected something special and were disappointed. We have had better cupcakes from some of the grocery store bakeries. Maybe the other flavors are better. I do not use box mixes.

They have delicious cupcakes here. they change the flavors every once in awhile adding new flavors depending on the time of year.. this location became a frequent stop going or coming from work. my girlfriend loves when I surprise her with her favorite cupcakes from here. After a couple visits she got hooked on the Dippin Dots. Staff is awesome even help me with a drained battery after stopping on day..

The sweets here are good. I have a big sweet tooth, but I'm also very very picky and do not like to eat sweets from any and every one. Especially, if it isn't homemade sweets from my Creole-African American, Southern Louisiana elders. But I do believe Cupcake Allie has found the magic to satisfying my sweet tooth.

We have been using Cupcake Allie for all of our cupcake needs and they never disappoint. Their cupcakes are always fresh, we'll made and taste delicious. I could not recommend them higher.

I loved this place for cupcakes, it stays open late and typically has great quality or so I thought. I went in around 6:30ish on 12/4/2017 and ordered my cupcakes when I noticed some gnats inside the case and landing on top of their chocolate cupcakes. I immediately let the cashier know and was told "yeah they're everywhere." She didn't remove the cupcakes or act started there was bugs on their products. I still bought my cupcakes because I ordered them and didn't want to seem rude for asking her to put them back, but I ended up throwing them away. The main reason I'm writing this review however is the cashier seemed to remove the cupcake tray with the gnat feasting chocolate cupcakes from the case as I was walking out making me think she was finally considering that those cupcakes were nasty and should be removed, but as soon as the door closed behind me, I saw her just put them right back in the case. I don't think she realized the store front is a glass window I could see her thru. Overall just gave me a bad vibe and I won't be spending anymore money there and want others to be informed.

I’ve been a huge fan of Sucre since they first opened on Magazine St years ago. I was excited to hear of the BR store opening! Their King Cakes are the most beautiful and delicious I’ve ever had, worth traveling the hour to pick up! All of their treats are beautiful and delicious. Reminds me of the wonderful French Pastry Boutique in Paris called Lauderie.

This was the driest king cake ever. There was absolutely no filling. We just had one from Rouses this weekend, and it was so much better. We wasted $40. Don't do the same.

A hidden gem! This spot boasts exquisite pastries, mouthwatering cookies, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The staff is incredibly friendly, making every visit a delight. I’m honestly surprised it’s not flooded with five-star reviews—it’s a must-visit, and I’ll definitely be back!

We didn’t take pictures, but got a sample of a few different things. My husband got some gelato and loved it. We then got a piece of king cake, a strawberry cupcake, a lemon petit four, and another pastry with a honey mouse and a raspberry filling. Everything was awful, besides the gelato. The king cake was dry and hardly any cinnamon flavor, with a hard icing. The strawberry cupcake was also just a dry vanilla base with a whip cream strawberry frosting? For $8 or $9 ? And the lemon petit four tasted completely plastic and extract-y. And the other pastry was inedible also. Bummed we spent $40 here and skipped out dessert at our restaurant when we could have had something better quality. The workers were very polite and nice and it’s a Beautiful place. But that’s all it had going for it.

Went in to get a quick dessert. Service was good, but you can tell that the employees are not used to starting conversations with customers. I wouldn’t say that these desserts are necessarily worth the price.

My new favorite dessert place. Great cupcakes. Always fresh. The inside is very cute and has a couple of tables to sit and enjoy if you want to have one there.

I’m so excited to have a Sucré in Baton Rouge! This store is beautiful and definitely worth a visit. Both king cakes I’ve gotten here were fantastic and I also really liked the macarons. I’m looking forward to trying more things.

BEST CAKES EVER!!!!!

This is place is rather mediocre. I've come here three times and all three times much was left to be desired. The biggest wow-factor is that they offer combinations of flavors that a lot of places don't. The cupcakes are not so moist and dense. A white chocolate strawberry cupcake I had only relied on whole white chocolate chips on the inside of the cupcake to make it white chocolate--I can do that. And I more than likely will (do more than that) next time. I haven't special ordered any cupcakes, so perhaps that would make a difference in freshness and flavor. While not the worst, it really isn't anything to obsess over.

The folks at Cupcake Couture are helpful, friendly and make an excellent product. They custom made some cupcakes for my brother's birthday even though it was a small order - only 1/2 dozen. The cupcakes were Rolo-themed - chocolate cake with caramel butter creme icing and a Rolo on top. Delish and cute! I'll definitely be using Cupcake Couture again in the future.

I absolutely loved the Red Velvet, Wedding Cake, and Chocolate cupcakes I tried. So perfect. I can't wait to go back and eat another. I think I'll get Wedding Cake this next time. :)

I fell in love

Wow, that's how I would summarize our lunch this past Friday at Chris' Specialty Food restaurant on highland road! We opted for the Lobster Rolls, and let me tell you, they did not disappoint!!! The rolls came with home-cooked potato chips that by themselves warranted this review ( trust me ). Now onto the Lobster Rolls , the buns were accurate New England style Rolls with just the right amount of butter on them and then toasted to perfection, then the Lobster was literally overflowing both of our Rolls and honestly some of the freshest we have had outside of Maine ! One addition I just have to talk about is their homemade pickles that came with the Rolls and were a combination of sweet bread and butter and dill!! I don't know how they pulled off the combination, but it definitely worked ( so much so that I asked if they sell them separately), so if you are looking for a great addition to you meal rotation I can't say enough good things about our meal!!

The friday lobster rolls are a MUST! Great people, great food, you will not be disappointed!

First year not preparing the Thanksgiving turkey ourselves, opted to try Chris's fried turkey instead after a recommendation - followed the reheating instructions provided and was incredibly disappointed / crushed to find that the turkey was so unbelievably dry it was inedible. Waste of ~ $80. Thanksgiving dinner for the family was all homemade side dishes this year, sadly.

Nothing special about this place. A lot of overseasoned, over priced same old same old. The workers lack knowledge. The customer service is blasé and borderline rude.

Pretty good food, me and my co-workers are probably in here twice a week. The Reuben is awesome and is even better dipped in a little Italian dressing.
