Small dive bar with great chicken and jojos. The chicken and jojos was very affordable. Lots of chicken and tasty potato wedges. Offered plenty of sauces to go with. I choose buffalo, ranch, and honey mustard. Be warned it takes time. The bartender was the one making the chicken so be chill, grab a beer while you wait. Totally worth it.

This was my 2nd time at this bar and it was great. I went in on Halloween and it wasn't busy at first but it quickly got busy. I mainly went in for their fried chicken and mojos. The chicken did take a little while as expected, so as a tip, order it asap! It'll take at least 20 minutes before you get it. Grab a drink while you wait. The bartender was a workhorse and stayed on top of everything. The only downside was the mostly crappy music being played on the jukebox, which was the patrons' fault lol. This was my 2nd time and I'll definitely be back for a 3rd.

probably the best bar in Portland but definitely the best fried chicken in portland. also drinks are cheap and you feel the place is part of the community rather than some private equity asset. 5 stars any day but show up expecting to wait an hour for your chicken. It’s part of the charm

Probably one of the best fried chicken meals you'll ever have in a dive bar in the U.S. It will take a really, really long time to get your fried bar food (they had one bartender working the bar and fryer when we went on a Saturday afternoon). The batter for the Jo-Jos and fried chicken are incredibly good. They are thick, crispy, with flaky layers--remeniscent of really good Korean fried chicken batter that is made for sauces. The dark meat chicken we got was super tender and juicy too. Fried pickles and onion rings seemed to have a lighter, tempura-veggie-like batter. If you live nearby, I think this would be a great spot for fried chicken. We're thinking about trying to make it our meet-up spot before Violet Hex / drag and queer movie nights at the Clinton Street theater. Ambiance is small dive bar-y. Bartender is overworked and super friendly. A few beers on tap, and some cans in the fridge. For those who care, the space might not be the most fat-friendly or accessible when it's crowded: the bathroom I used was tiny and not accessible, and there's some tables with stools or pull-out chairs.

As authentic as it gets. Not a huge fan of the super thick potato slices, Lovingly called JoJo's, a whole potato sliced by eight rather than four feels like it'd be a little easier to handle. Chicken and sauces were top notch though as well as service and atmosphere. Classic spot you got to go!

Visiting from Cleveland, Ohio. My daughter is a regular and brought us to visit. The staff is fantastic and attentive. This is the best service I have ever had. Such a great vibe and a great time

my partner and i were here just the other day with members of her order. she phoned me with a need for a ride, so i was not there to patronize the business. as luck would have it, they are happy to accommodate non-spending patrons. but, i couldn't help but wonder if patron was the correct word for a person like myself. i was not merely a window-shopper, or a loiterer. was i a guest? i had not been invited to come there by the business, i had just shown up to the northern face of the building and let myself in. once inside, i became their concern. my identity was confirmed and i was allowed to join my partner and their colleagues. suddenly, to me, i was now existing on a plane above "browser" and below "patron," or somewhere next to "patron." perhaps my presence could serve as an influence on others to spend more. if that was the case, i would be considered something like a broker. and what if i did this while having no money to spend? a broke broker. and even more absurd and possible, if i had sustained an injury prior to, i may be a broke, broken broker.

Probably one of the best bars in America, the atmosphere; the staff; the music; the people; the realness. Many try to fake it—Low Brow is for every scoundrel looking for shelter in storm.

A night out in the pearl, and yes we had to drop into our old stomping grounds, Low Brow Lounge. It’s probably been 10 years since I’ve set foot in the place, but it hasn’t changed a bit. Very lively crowd on a Saturday night.

Awesome dive. Was in Portland for 3 days and we loved it so much we went back twice!

What a great place. The staff is super friendly and the place has a very low key vibe. Food was American bar fare and an all day breakfast menu. Who doesn’t like breakfast?!? They were really good about special orders and kids are allowed in the restaurant side.

Cool spot to have a meal. Has a back in time kinda vibe. Our server was really nice and he checked in on from time to time. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the bloody mary wasn't to bad. Straight forward nothing fancy. Prices are on the fairer side especially do to everything else around being more expensive. So I would definitely return if in the area.

We came here for Mother’s Day and had a good time. Elodie was a great server and gave my wife a special gift that the owner had put together for moms. Pretty good Eggs Benedict. The French Dip was big with a pretty good amount of shaved meat and a lot of fries. The burger was pretty large (see photos) but my son didn’t care for the taste of the meat. The single pancake, as a side, was delicious. And the Club House was pretty impressive with oven baked turkey pieces, bacon, ham, two kinds of cheese…. The vibe is best in the middle room but no minors are allowed in there as it also has a bar. It’s super groovy in there with lots of funky lamps, lights and more. Fun place with generous portions and decent prices.

Play some slots, pinball or pool while you have your breakfast. Corned beef hash is homemade with large pieces of corned beef. Large servings, delicious food. Nighttime bar atmosphere. Staff were friendly. Fun place.

Honestly, I can’t tell if this place is a diner or a dive bar or a museum of weird Portland energy. And I love it. Came for breakfast, got eggs and hash browns and the coffee was stronger than I expected. Might come back just to people-watch. It’s that kind of spot.

Nice cozy place where you can eat until 2:30 am, which provides a great flexibility. Staff is friendly and the atmosphere is great. The menu has a comprehensive set of options and there is plenty to choose from. Loved the fish and chips and the Portugese soup. Chicken wraps were also very tasty. The Halloween decorations were pretty impressive, and clearly showed the amount of effort put in. Great job! I recommend this eatery and plan to revisit.

This is an awesome divey tiki bar. The drinks are good, the food is tasty, and the vibes cannot be beat. The karaoke is fun and usually very busy, but everyone is into it and it doesn't feel forced the way some karaoke does. Absolutely recommend going here for a late night stop.

Deep, dark Tiki decor and vibe immediately bring a smile. Karaoke crowd is fun-loving and generous. Bartender Ashley is friendly, efficient and skilled beyond offered cocktail menu. John is new but clearly skilled at ensuring customers are having s good time. This is a fun factory! ✌️🥂🗿

The Chicken and burgers tasted alright. They do a good job on the mixed drinks. They have a somewhat large area that seats around 75 peoplle for the karaoke.

Such a fun place/stop for a bar hop. I wouldnt come here right off the bat. Id come a few rounds deep then enjoy the night. The drinks can be on the sweet side so if youre someone who gets sick from sugary drinks even tho you feel like you can, id limit to 1 or 2 then switch to basic G&T or V&Ts. Trust me, morning you will thank night version you. Their jello shots are good too! The food is great here as well. Perfect for snacks (lumpia is my go to) or late 2nd meal. Its also just really fun to watch people do karaoke. Its clear everyone's just there to have a fun time

We had such a great time so we made it a destination during our road trip from Canada . We happened to be there when there were some high level singers and some who were very unique. Great crowd , only good vibes , DJ very good . Drinks were a little too sweet this time. The food this time I ordered with the sauce on the side . Looking forward to always making The Alibi lounge regular stop for us . Got some swag this time for memories.

We informed multiple staff that a man in the facility tried to put our phone in his pocket and none of them seem to care. The man was able to walk out of the door with no staff or police involved. If cameras had been tracked, the staff could have clearly seen the man pocketing our phones and attempting to search for it all while it being in his pocket. The door guy left him leave and said it’s no problem. The door guy said why would we be mad if we got our phones back and let him leave whenever he wanted to. Second oldest tiki bar in America! This place was a complete and total gem hidden in Portland. If you get a chance to visit while you’re in town, I highly recommend it. They pour the drink, strong, and the atmosphere with a karaoke is amazing.

Went here for the first time tonight and the service was amazing! Grant was so nice and had amazing service never had to wait for a drink! Highly recommended if you are looking for a bar full of nice people!

Been going to this joint for years. In the last 2 years or so, it seems as though the “bridge and tunnel” crowd discovered it. If you love a good dive-bar with chill vibes, go to the The Slammer on week nights, but if you dislike bros, puking sorority girls and loud crappy, trap music, I’d avoid this joint on Friday and Saturday nights. Very affordable drinks.

I just moved to the neighborhood last month and just recently tried this place out and its the PERFECT dive bar. Exept it's kind of cramped inside but other than that, perfection!!! Nice bar-tenders! Tip them good!!

Julie was our server and was the absolute best. Our drinks were top notch! I recommend the Salty Dog and jello shots! We had a blast making Christmas sweater 🎄 👕 cookies and laughing with Julie all night! Will be back ASAP and asking for her! Thanks Julie ❤️

The staff was very friendly, and all around seemed to be a decent area to spend an evening. The crowd was a bit of a mix, but overall not bad. The drinks were reasonable for Portland, and they had a reasonable selection. Honestly I'm going to give it a 4 star for the simple fact that they played the cursed song TGIF, and it wasn't even a Friday, it was a Thursday night. Not that being Friday would justify playing such a horrid song. But with my own personal hatred of that song to the side, it is a good bar for a night out.

Excellent food in a dive bar. I love how you order food at the bar, it came out super quick, it was super tasty. What more do you want ? Oh, just about everything on menu wa under $15 and huge! They got two tables and plenty of seating both indoor and out. Dog friendly.

The vibe is unpretentious, fun, and reliably full of character. The food goes way beyond typical bar fare, their burgers and tots are next level, and the wings? Total crowd-pleaser. Drinks are strong, fairly priced, and the bartenders know what they’re doing. There’s plenty of space to spread out, shoot some pool, or just hang without feeling packed in. It’s the kind of place where you instantly feel like a regular, even on your first visit. Twilight Room is everything a great bar should be: casual, welcoming, and consistently awesome. 10/10 recommend.

Great local bar in nopo. You'll certainly feel like everyone knows one another but no one was unwelcoming. Went early saturday evening to prefunk at the bar. Chicken wings were huge and priced well for what you get. Fries were just ok. Happy hour was a small menu and $1 off beers. A good selection of beers and full bar. The bartender was really nice but when it got a little busy service slowed down and a line would form. Totally not her fault as she was the only bartender. Nonetheless really happy with the service and food. Definitely will be back if i am in the area.

Dingy and gross. In other words PERFECT. If you say you want to go to a dive bar, you want to go here. It checks all the boxes and has whatever you can ask for. I'd be nice if the bathrooms weren't as rancid but again, what can you expect from a dive bar. Get fresh air with the outside seating. Hide from your partner in the alley in between buildings. It's really is a cool place.

I’ve been to this tavern a few times over the years and always appreciated the laid-back vibe — but my most recent visit was deeply disappointing and honestly unacceptable. After ordering a single beer and playing a few games of pool with my cousin, I returned to the bar about an hour later to order another drink for each of us. The bartender — who wore a Detroit ball cap and had a mustache — suddenly turned rude and unprofessional. Without cause, he said, “Looks like you’ve had enough already, Jack-o,” then followed it up with a crude, demeaning comment and refused to acknowledge me again despite my repeated attempts to order. To make matters worse, the bartender himself appeared intoxicated — slurring, stumbling, and clearly not in a state to be serving customers. The irony of being denied service by someone who shouldn’t have been behind the bar in the first place wasn’t lost on me. For context: I walk with a noticeable gait due to a spinal rod and a four-inch leg length difference from childhood scoliosis — something that may look unusual, but does not justify being mocked, judged, or refused service. Whether or not he knew about my condition, his behavior was inexcusable. This experience left a bitter taste. Staff drinking on the job, insulting customers, and treating people with visible disabilities like a joke? That’s a serious problem. Management needs to take accountability for who they’re putting behind the bar. I won't be returning — and I’d warn others to think twice.

Just went for the first time and definitely will be back. Tacos are a great deal, especially brisket tacos. Good food, vibes, drink, and pool/shuffleboard table. Plus goddamn if it doesn't look like it's been around a while

Get me back to this dive bar heaven.

Amazing Dive bar. Great location. Cheap drinks, good snacks. Good music playing. Locals are there getting loose. Amazing decor. I am obsessed with the painting but Al Hirchfeld on the wall. Its an original!

Seems like it gets lots of business so of course the bartender's are too cool. Busy talking about side work or bar gossip or just general complaining before they look up and smile, "what can I getcha?". Who cares though. It's spacious. The crowd was mixed ages. Despite the 'grandmas house' vibe, it has a lot to offer. This would be good for a group but also good for an individual who likes sitting at long bars and talking to strangers.

Came here yesterday. Great service, came back today and was met with an incredibly rude bartender. With a 25 minute ticket time on wings. When at the 20 minute mark I inquired about the food because I had gotten on the phone a few mins after placing my order I was told I was lying about the wait. The phone call was at the 20min marker. Then asked if I wanted the food still which took another 5 minutes to come out while I was waiting for my voided receipt. Of course I declined it. Had a great smash burger across the street lovely folks. All I wanted was an apology of sorts but was met with hostility. There is something to be said when visiting homogeneous areas that when you’re met with micro aggressions you aren’t surprised but can still be disheartening.

Really great bartenders and service, Mickey, there is great along with all of the other bartenders too. Fast, awesome service, stiff drinks, great vibe, NA options, too, espresso, martini on draft, and believe it or not their burgers are freaking bomb. I will come here every day for the rest of my life! Over 100 years old!

Based on my experiences, you go here to get permissibly hammered with your buds in a third space, or to one of the events they put on, you do not go here to get good or cheap food or drink. I spent the same amount for two people having a drink and a burger at SH as I did for brunch at SD down the street, and that seems bananas. This is a dive bar, through and through; the pours are heavy, and I'd go here again to sit and chat to a friend over a pint outside and people watch, because the vibe can actually be better than other bars in walking distance. There is a massive projector screen and a pool table, as well as some electronic gambling and game machines.

Awesome staff! Try everything on the menu! Prime rib night is Wednesday $26- worth it! ALSO good happy hour (and brunch is apparently Sat & Sun 11:30 - 3:00 PM, but I haven't tried that yet.)

In anticipation of a 100th Anniversary event, we dropped in for a preview on a day that would be less busy. WOW! Delicious, hearty food in great portions, and solid drinks. For our specific visit, compliments to the brunch chef (Aimee) and our bartender (Jordan).

I have come here a lot and I really like this place. Last night, I had one beverage and began to feel faint. I was trying to get water and feel better and avoid passing out. The security guard lady’s behavior towards me was absolutely disgusting. She told me that she can’t have me passing out outside so they can call me an uber. I told her I’m trying to not pass out so I cannot get up right now and she repeats that she will call me an uber. I told her no I am on foot I just need a minute because I’m going to pass out. I told her I had one beverage and she says you don’t look good you look really pale you have to go let me call you an uber. Never once did she offer a paramedic or some sympathy. Something could have been slipped in my drink, you don’t know, I had 1 beverage. It was absolutely disgusting the way she treated me and honestly, I don’t even want to go back which really sucks because I love this place, but that was volatile. I hope no one is In a medical situation when she’s working because she will kick you out and call you an uber. Not to mention charge you for drinks you didn’t get to drink. I hope she learns compassion for people and I hope their security guards get more training on how to handle medical emergencies because that was disgusting.

Yurs is the best spot around. I’m a local and this place is my go to for cheap drinks and a game. It’s massive although you’d never know it from the outside, plus the food has no right being as delicious as it is. One of the last locals spots in NW. The bartenders are awesome and the one bar manager is awesome and always remembers my name and has my drink ready. With pool, pinball, video lottery, and tons of TVs it’s the best on a football weekend.

There is a dynamic duo and they are the Saranillo Sisters aka bartenders Cherie and Jublie at Yurs Bar & Grill. Every time I go there they make me feel so at home and part of the scene even if I'm just sitting by myself. Also they create great cocktails and could work at any high end bar in town but they choose to work at Yurs because they love the laid back lifestyle Yurs bar encompasses and tending to patrons without stuck up personalities. I can't say enough about how cool these two girls are and what a joy it is when they are working.

I’ve been coming here for over 10 years. Allison P. provides the worst service I’ve ever received! On a slow weekend morning, with few people in the bar and she doesn’t acknowledge you’re there, wanders aimlessly for 5 minutes, forgets what she’s doing and has to ask again what you ordered. That happened on several occasions. This weekend, after being her for 2 hours and several orders, she rudely comes up to me and asks for my ID. I ask why since she’s been “serving me and I’ve been here for a while” and she rudely just says she needs to see it for me to be in here (I’m 40yo with my 80yo MIL) I give her my ID and proceed to inform her that her customer service is not good. She gets mad and walks away. About ten minutes later a security guard comes up to me to tell me I have to leave. The security guard, Cole, was very professional and we had a good conversation while I finished. This bartender is new and Yur’s needs to be better about vetting their new hires and training them as this experience was far below what I’ve ever received here. Calling security because the bar tender was rude and I mentioned it is insane and you’ve lost a loyal customer of over a decade. *After Yur’s response below: you mention inappropriate behavior/language which was not used or exhibited. Your bartender got mad because I informed her that her service was sub par. I’ve already spoken with many other regulars who share the same sentiment.

YURS 😍🥰😋🤤 is the best bar in Portland hands down. BEEN the best bar IS the best bar and will forever BE the best bar. Food bomb, prices bomb, atmosphere bomb, baddies behind the bar BOMB. This place is so clean I’d sleep on the floors if they’d let me. It’s Yur way or the highway at Yurs and I’d say that’s enough to keep anyone coming back.

I dig this place, the staff is welcoming from Cherie, Scotty, Olivia and Jubilee. If it's quiet or packed they handle the flow with ease and confidence. The line is always moving and they don't forget to check the people sitting at the bar. Best dive in NW P-Town. I'll be back(haha)

This is an eclectic place to go for drinks but the vibe made me feel so uncomfortable and uneasy at this bar. It wasn’t busy but the type of other customers there didn’t make me want to stay. They don’t serve food. The bartender was super friendly and the drink (Old Fashion) I had was strong but my friend and I had to leave soon after our visit. I just felt too uncomfortable to stay. It’s hard to explain but I have no desire to visit again.

This is the most disgusting bar I’ve ever been to. I’m surprised the health department or the city hasn’t made them improve their standards. I walked in, took video because I actually couldn’t believe my eyes, and walked out. How anyone would pay money to be at this place puzzles me. Needless to say, I will never go back. Never.

This place is exactly what I was hoping, my husband and I, were staying in portland for the weekend, for work. When we got off late we were just looking for a low key place to get some drinks, this place was exactly what I was hoping and the bar tender was great on saturday night! Portland treated us so well this weekend and this place was a highlight for sure!

Dive barber at its best. Friendly service and friendly people. Was here from Pittsburgh and this reminded me of home. Dim bar with friendly service/people and best of all drinks for the right price. Every place around the area was charging double/triple.

I give this place a solid 5 stars because it is the most DIVE’eeeee-DIVE BAR I have ever encountered in my pursuit of dive bars! Haha…and if you’re anything like me, I’m a lady but not that much of a lady. Meaning I LOVE me a rouge around the edges, real character, real stories, real drinks type of place. Seriously a great place. And wait until you see the wall art! Uffff…

Half my group was Canadian and regardless of the Oregon Liquor Control Commission explicitly stating that “An unexpired and unaltered driver license from a U.S. state, the District of Columbia, or a province or territory of Canada” are valid as a sole piece of ID the Canadians were not allowed to enter the bar with their Canadian drivers licenses. Then without warning, as the Canadians were coming back with their passports, security said “you’re drinking outside my bar, I’m not letting any of you in” and slammed the door. The whole experience was extremely rude, security was highly abrasive, and there was no respect provided to potential patrons. I would highly recommend frequenting another establishment given the choice. “Looks like a bar you would get shanked in”

A true Portland dive, complete with dim lighting and sticky tables. Cheap drinks and classic greasy eats keep it real. Service is hit or miss, but hey, that’s part of the charm, right? Good for a no-frills night, just don’t expect a spotless experience.

Came for the first time with my partner. Dead sober, came in and my partner asked for a double. Very rude older blonde woman tending the bar said very aggressively “we don’t do doubles here, you definitely don’t need a double” Left immediately before getting a drink. Spend your money at an establishment with decent service and staff.

Whoever is the older gal on Saturday nights, she’s blonde - she’s arguably the worst and most rude bartender I’ve ever met. Made people do a “verbal check-in” with her after ordering shots, mind you this was our first stop so none of us were showing any signs of intoxication. She was super confrontational and rude for no reason, then proceeded to get mad at us when we picked our friend up and carried him out just because we were having fun. This bar is horrible, service is horrible. Go anywhere else.

Flys in my drink, told bar tendar, she acted like it wasn't no big deal, I asked if this happens all the time because she didn't seemed shocked, she stated it's happens from time to time. She didn't even say sorry, just grab my drink and walked away..now she could've offer a free drink or something. . Between the four of us, we spent over $75.00 bucks there.. the other three people tab was $ 75.00 something. The food was ok, besides the flys, the drinks were good an strong..

Great dive bar with one pool table and a nice back patio. They play movies and spin vinyl while you chat with friends and enjoy your drink.

Don't let its rough-edged exterior (or interior, for that matter) scare you away: Mad Hanna is a low-brow dive with high-class cocktails and service, that has been abused (lovingly) by its patrons and proprietors. It knows what it is, and what it wants to be. Devoid of all pretentiousness, Mad Hanna is the sort of place where you also can come as you are, be who you want to be, without judgment, surrounded by like-minded, liquored up individuals seeking refuge from our collective weekday demons. In short, the kind of place I'd like to visit more often. Unlike most dives, you can get a fantastic, hand-crafted cocktail, that actually tastes like the drink you ordered, instead of the sort of watered-down, blasphemous amalgamation you'll find elsewhere. You can also just order a beer or a White Claw and get "White Girl Wasted" without feeling guilty. During our visit, there was a DJ spinning an eclectic mix of pseudo-country music that I am still struggling to put a label on; regardless, we enjoyed it. The usual offenders of pool tables and gambling machines occupy most of the inner space, although I feel like they could be cleared to create impromptu dance floor at the drop of a hat. There's also a semi-sequestered nook off to the right of the door, with comfy leather chairs and lit by twinkly lights, should you be in the mood(le) to canoodle. Dog friendly, open from 11am until 2:30am, 7 days a week. Food available from the Hannex café kitchen next door, seemingly at all hours of operation.

Mad Hanna rules! Lots of comfortable and varied seating, both indoor and on the covered patio with heat lamps. I tried the sweet tea whiskey and it was really nice mixed with soda and lemon. There was a DJ spinning vinyl and slot machines, too!

This bar was a real treat to find. The bartenders have an excellent punk and goth vibe, the prices are great, and the music is superb. My only issue is some of the other patrons. I don't come to a bar like this to muck around with coked out folks picking up coked out one night stands, or to make TX liberals feel better about themselves. Just as much, I do enjoy meeting chill folks, which there are plenty of. I'll keep showing up whenever I'm in the neighborhood.

I was in town killing time while my daughter and her friends were at a concert at moda center. The location was close proximity and convenient to find. When I arrived I was greeted warmly by Nina the server and was quite impressed with her professionalism and customer service. She literally made a guy in a cowboy outfit feel welcomed in a hardcore punk type environment. The place itself wasn’t super special but the outside area was warm and inviting and atmosphere was great. But for me the other patrons and especially the service will definitely be bringing me back next time I’m in town. Definitely would recommend 100%

Best dive bar in town. Proof in action that simple concepts executed well provide the most enjoyable atmosphere. The bartenders include amazingly talented artists and musicians. The supply of punk and metal deep cuts is never ending. Come for the $1 Oly's and healthily poured whiskey, stay for the people.

This is home away from home. I haven’t been back for awhile cause of a drinking break but I have been coming to this place for about 6 years now. Drinks are cheap, atmosphere is great, if your nose isn’t stuck up in the air. This is a hidden gem and the people who work here are amazing. This is a place for the misfits, and what a great place to have a drink!

Lucas was so friendly and accommodating. You don’t see this in the service industry anymore. He made the experience what it was from the moment we began ordering. The live music was cool. It’s not a large place so you gotta get there early to snag a table or stools. I enjoyed their seltzer they have on tap. Would go back.

This place really undersells itself with their slogan "the most okest bar in Portland", because in reality they are much better than that. Great atmosphere, service, and lots of live music. It's my number one local bar, and I can't recommend it highly enough. 10/10

This bar is like every other bar on foster. Pretty divey and a bit quirky. Theres nothing that really stands out. But that being said I didnt have a bad time. Catch it on a good night and you might hear some rad music.

Stopped into this place for lunch on a Sunday. The atmosphere was calm and relaxed, which was welcomed. I ordered the halibut fish n chips and was not disappointed. The fish was cooked perfectly, moist and flaky with a thin crispy batter. The chips seemed to be hand cut and cooked until crispy, very good. The cole slaw had a spice to it, I'm thinking horseradish and it was incredible. Even the house made tartar was excellent. The service was quick and friendly. I plan to stop back in for a drink at the bar in the future.

Best fish & chips I've had. I live in Germany and travel to the UK and Ireland often.. sampling all the fish and chips I can get a hold of. The haddock fish & chips I just had here ate the Horse Brass Pub was fantastic and shot to the #1 spot on my list. Great "steak and ale" pie also. Serving sizes are definitely shareable. Plus large selection of NA beers, even one on tap. Cool old world atmosphere too.

Quiet pub, but about as English a pub as you can find in Portland. Big beer selection, and I made the mistake of assuming I'd get the usual 1/3 fish to chips when I ordered the Haddock, so I ordered a Scotch Egg too. The egg wasn't runny, but I'm not Gordon Ramsay either, though it did taste a bit overly hard boiled. I was surprised to see the Haddock show up as nearly an entire half a fish, or at least as big as the plate. Light and crispy, would go well with malt and lemon. The coleslaw was delicious. Chips reheated in an air fryer just fine.

It's a vibe here honestly. Totally a PUB feel always, and a great example of classic English grub. I mostly just come here for the darts because they're one of the few places in Portland I have found to have more than 2 darts boards. The service is super nice, if slow at some times—the place is big and has a lot of corners so can't really fault them for that. Love it here!

Great place for an after work brew! But hold your horses when it comes to buying food here, the menu prices are way, way overpriced. It’s not even worth the quality of product that comes out on a plate. For example,A bowl of chili should never cost over eight dollars. The bartenders are usually nice to me and know where I usually sit at the end of the day.

Kelly's Olympian is a great place to grab a bite and a pint in downtown Portland. Ive been to Portland three times in the past three years and have stopped by Kelly's twice. The bartenders are always friendly and the drinks strong. They also have live music and comedy nights at a venue that's connected to the bar. All in all a great place to grab a after work beer with friends.

Best dang shuffleboard in Portland!! The Rumpus Room in Portland is a quintessential dive bar with a few unexpected twists. The atmosphere is laid-back and inviting, and the bar is home to two full-size shuffleboard tables that are kept in great condition. But what really sets the Rumpus Room apart is the surprisingly good Asian-inspired food Dive bar food. And for those who like a little extra excitement with their drinks, the bar also has a few slot machines. Overall, the Rumpus Room is a fun and unique spot to grab a drink and some delicious eats.

They have shuffleboard which is pretty cool! Their dinks are nice, and the deep fried food is actually really impressive! 🤙🏼

She thought I was rude by mentioning that I wasn't with the party in front of me who started talking to me before but refused to ask to make sure. Called me rude and then double charged me for a single beer my first visit there ever. Wish she would have been more transparent!

Maybe the new years eve crowd was light this evening but it wasn't very inviting nor very well supported. It's a nice establishment and I'm sure on the right night is very popular. But tonight it was a warm place to stop and I'm. Sure I'll go back if I'm in that part of town again.

Look, I know the reputation this place has, but I decided to give them a try anyways. The food is bad. The prices are bad. The service is bad. Even the owner sucks. Hell, as dirty as the place is, I'm genuinely shocked that they've managed to pass their health inspections. If you DO decide to go here for some reason? Please, PLEASE make sure you keep an eye on your drinks, keep them covered if possible, and make sure you bring people that you trust that can keep an eye on you while you're there.

I asked for a water with ice and they told me to drink the open pitchers off the counter. First, one pitcher was empty and the other had less than a glass in it. Second, I don't think it is up to code to be serving water out of open pitchers that have been sitting there for who knows how long and anyone could have coughed into. I work in a bar and it doesn't take that long to pour a customer water. It's just straight up bad customer service to say no. This bar needs to get itself together cuz this isn't the first bad experience I've had here.

loved the karaoke DJ, she was the best, but the food was Mid and the drinks were just fine. Also turns out this place is anti vax and pulled their sponsorship for a pickleball team because one of the members was trans so, unless something has changed about the views of this establishment do not go here if you have a brain and good taste.

Amazing place for cheap eats in the heart of the PSU campus. I love going here in the happy hour, known as the cheerful hour here, for reasonably priced options for food and drinks. The daily specials are awesome, love the Tuesday deal of 3 dollar tacos and 3.50 dollar margaritas, although cheap they taste really good. The overall vibes are super chill, you can relax with friends and the best part for me is the option of all-day breakfast. No need to write more, super chill cheap dive bar ambiance, recommend to check it out if you are in the area. the draft beer selection is pretty varied and balanced as well.

Mid-time cheerful goer, look me up. I ordered the sliders and mini-corn dogs and they were really good, but I rushed to get out of there and left food on the table. Music was loud as hell. Literally could feel my hearing getting damaged. I asked the KJ to turn it down and they did, but by the time my food arrived, the music was louder than before and I had already decided I would be leaving asap. I know the bar gets less busy after school gets out, but it was not fun tonight. The vibe was off and I don’t like permanent hearing damage. Not every bar night is as fun as every other, but tonight was a real bummer and I will be avoiding Cheerful for a while.

Some of the best bar food I’ve ever had. Got the potstickers, carne asada fries and the cheesecake, was not disappointed at all. The portions were massive too, only spent 33$ and my wife and I ate our fill with leftovers. The smell was a little something to get used to tho, kinda smelled like a beer burp but whatever, food was awesome!

We ordered delivery. This jar is TWO servings of their peach margarita, $24.20 (both sides shown so you can see we didn’t open it). On the left are the “Jumbo” Korean Fried Wings, $15.40. In the middle the Chicken “Tenders”, $15.40. Nothing tasted good. Tell me if any of this seems worth it. Stay away from this place, it’s a total ripoff.

It’s a dirty little dive bar. I appreciate the generous pour. We stayed for one drink and that was enough. I would visit again, but it’s not a place that I want to hang out at all night. That is just my personal preference. But it is a great low key place for affordable drinks and decent atmosphere.

Great place! My daughter and I happen to be downtown at the same time doing different things. We wanted to go and have a drink somewhere for happy hour and my daughter said do you want to go to the best dive Bar downtown? It was great. The atmosphere is welcoming. Lots of decor that grabbed your attention and is very cool. The bartenders were great and with a heavy pour. We spent about 2 hours there and had other friends meet us. You can tell that they definitely have their regulars and they allow dogs inside which was nice and fun to watch. It seemed kind of like "Cheers" that sitcom back in the '80s and '90s. The bartender, new patrons by name and very attentive and efficient. We didn't eat but certainly saw food that came out and it looked great. I would recommend stopping in for an experience, great people, great patrons and just a great place to go to not just once, but whenever you're out in the area that's the place to go.

Was staying in the area for a concert and was happy to come across this cute little dive bar. Can get super busy at night, but the bartenders are super nice and attentive, just have patience and don't be a dick. They have slot machines, strong drinks and the bar food was actually tasty. They also have some seating outdoors. And people had dogs which was cute.

This is a fun well-known dive bar in the Woodstock area of Portland. They are popular for their burgers and have been rated highly for them in local papers for “best burgers” in town features. The staff is friendly and they have a large selection of beers on tap and in cans. A good amount of inexpensive tall boys too. There’s a number of slightly worn but cozy booths and several tall tables with bar stools. The bar itself is long and has bar stools along it. Pin ball and pool too. Good prices and tasty food. One of our favorite places to stop by for a bit.

Spot has some character, but have had multiple issues with service here, the most recent of which prompted this review. Walked my dog over and wanted to get a light draft having had a few at the house beforehand and not having anything light at home. Bartender ignored me upon entry, at which point I walked to the end of the bar where they were scrolling their phone and politely asked them to serve me (this is the normal level of attentiveness from the staff at this bar so nothing notable here). They asked for my order -- which is important for what follows -- and I cordially replied that I was already a bit intoxicated so would like a Bud Light. The bartender then refused to serve me on the basis that I had just stated I was intoxicated (in a bar! imagine that!) and thus she was using her good judgment to not serve someone who was already intoxicated. Two key points: 1) I have seen this same bartender serve someone who was barely able to walk away from the bar on their own two feet; 2) the bartender could not tell I was intoxicated until I told her. Essentially, I was denied service because the bartender didn't like how I looked, or some other bogus reason, and they attempted to use "good judgment" as an excuse to not serve me. I have tended bar before and know the rules around judgment, and this wasn't the bartender using discretion, it was simply unwarranted denial of service. After pressing the bartender a bit on her logic, she stuck to her story so I rolled my eyes and left. Won't be going back, and figured I'd share the tale so you all can hopefully call the staff out if you are ever treated in a similar manner were you to find yourself at the Lutz.

Well I was hungry and this place is next to the heist food trucks( lots of places)but I saw a man eating outside, looked good! I always thought “ famous dive bar” but the first thing I noticed was it smells clean ! They have reasonable lunches( too much to eat! ) delicious and it reminds me of my baby sitters house in the 50s, lots of vintage bar signs and two guys playing cribbage! Friendly and fast

The bartender enjoys a good side eye when asking for a Long Island, an old school lovely bev that they believe is underneath their bartending skills. Customer service is the name of the game. Why be rude to polite customers who tip with every purchase? When the waitress brought the food, she slammed the baskets near our drinks and blamed Us for “having them in the way” despite us attempting to be polite and move things out of the way accordingly. The food was hardly decent despite paying $18 for 9 wings and even buzzed, a microwave pizza would have been better. I love this area , but I would not recommend going here.

Love(d) this bar. As a service industry lifer, I am beyond bummed to hear the new hours... Late night workers rely on places where we can show up and wind down after work. This place has always been a refuge for bartenders, servers, cooks, and other late night crews. And now they are closing at one. We’re not just going to leave and go to another bar at closing time. We are just going to a bar that we know we can hang out at for more than 20 minutes. Fix it.

This is a neighborhood spot for me. Service is always crisp, good vibes, food is better than necessarily required. I like it but I’d also say you don’t need to drive across town to crowd this spot out 😅

A cool neighborhood bar that serves some good fried chicken and wings. The interior is clean and there are plenty of tvs with sports playing in the background. We ordered some wings, fried chicken, and a grilled cheese and tomato soup to eat. The person taking our order at the bar was pretty nice and patient while we figured out what we wanted. The grilled cheese and tomato soup was pretty simple. The wings were good and the fried chicken had a good crunchy exterior, but nice and moist inside. I do want to come here next time for happy hour.

Onion rings are best to me. Crews are kind and friendly. Facility looks like a local pub and a vintage. Fun to watch the NFL game with people.

Fantastic dive bar. So many dives in Portland feel very manufactured these days. George's Corner feels authentic with a modest tap list but extensive bottles, cans and liquor, and a great menu. The bacon bleu burger was excellent and the fries were perfect.

I only stopped by to drink away the time until my next train, so my experience was short, but pleasant. I'll definitely have to stop by again with intent!

This place has been through a lot of changes over the years, it used to be a lot divier which was honestly kind of part of its charm but got a reno a couple years ago and they’re going for more of a sports bar vibe these days which is kind of nice but honestly I kind of miss the slightly sketchier feel of Old Georges 😂 Consistently though, they have had through all their phases a really killer burger (one of the best in town IMO) and crispy fries, good ranch, good BBQ sauce. Sooooo many places have disappointingly soggy fries and this is not one of them. Really solid bar food. Always. Crispy. Fries. Consistently delicious. Great gem. We had the Jiabing, pot stickers and brisket w/white rice and bok choy. They have housemade sauces. There are so many other delicious things I wanna try. Side note: They also have beer for sale.

Between the broken mic, the endless “technical difficulties,” and his nose taking more breaks than the playlist, it’s honestly a miracle any song gets finished. Lay low is a cozy dive bar nestled in the foster-powell area, I was greeted with cheerful customer service, timely drinks, and some amazing comfort food. They have a diverse brunch menu and tidy patio area. I sat comfortably with my sketchbook and enjoyed myself peacefully. I will definitely come back for another relaxing brunch.

I lean against the brick, cigarette glowing, headphones humming my chosen world. I take them down from my ears. She’s talking—rambling, really—about all the corporate chains she loves at the mall. You know, any mall that somehow stands “thriving” at the end of the world. She tells me. I say “as if” in my head. Cheesecake Factory, Sephora, Bath & Body Works like they’re constellations only she can see. Her boyfriend arrives, all eagerness and inertia. She pivots, starts the whole litany over, same cadence, different audience. He nods along. I pull the headphones snug, tune out. The smoke curls upward, carrying my silence with it. One cigarette later, I pull the headphones down. She hasn’t missed a beat. “Ann Taylor Loft,” she says, with reverence usually reserved for gods, or graves. He nods again, dutiful acolyte in the cult of chain retail. And me? I’ve already passed the test. The mall won’t swallow me. The spiral won’t take me. I stub the cigarette, pocket my headphones, and step back into the night. Portland’s waiting—messy, loud, uncurated. The real story’s not in the mall. She and I did connect over a recent gift to my goddaughter: a Clair’s gift card. The banter was unexpectedly sweet. This place has a great patio, better bartenders, sidewalk seating, and plays Me First and the Gimmie Gimmies.

I came here with a couple of coworkers. We were visiting out of state on a work trip and a friend of a friend recommended The Standard. It is your typical dive bar. No fancy frills but nothing but fun! A variety of good music was playing in the background. People were playing pool. The crowd was a mix of ages and different walks of life. It made for a good time. The pop rock Jell-O shots were the surprising underdog of the night! It was like a party in your mouth. Our bartender Devon was amazing! He was attentive and engaged in conversation. The owner Reed was working hard behind the bar too. He was really nice and made sure we were well taken care of. It was fun getting to know him. Today happened to be his 18th anniversary of opening The Standard! What a milestone to be proud of. If you’re looking for a laid back judgement free zone with strong drinks, good times and hard working bartenders… then The Standard is the spot. Very chill! Came in around 4PM on a Friday. Been here a few times with my sweethearts always good music, fav atmosphere. Super big thank you for having tea (which they got TODAY!) right at the beginning of the year for us with that sober start goal for the year but still want to enjoy the bar! Love playing pinball here and last time I stuck $20 in the video lottery I won’t $180 which was a fun time. The Standard is awesome.

Great dive bar with cheap drinks, pool tables, and a big outdoor patio. I don't really like jello shots, but they have pop rocks on theirs, which makes it fun. They highly encourage outside food!

Best Jell-O shots in Portland the pop rocks on top is the crack of the candy world. Jessica is such a great bartender who knows what you want even before you do. Dive bars may be dying in this town but this one will live on forever as the place with 1$ Hamms on Wednesday’s.

My favorite Buckman-Kerns dive bar. The clientele is a wonderful mix of anybody and everybody. The only bummer for me is that the patio is pretty small, so if you're a nonsmoker, there's no escape.

Always a nice time at the Ship Ahoy. Great bar staff, got a cool hoodie, but best of all, the ladies' restroom is surprisingly very clean. The vibes are good and always make my way back on a whim. 💗

This place isn’t bad but a lot of the girl bartenders seems to have some attitude behind service especially if they feel like they deserve a bigger tip then 20% on top of the bill. Not gonna put any names but don’t be in the service industry & act rude to regulars like myself.

Really weird asking people if they've tipped. I covered someone else's tab because their system went down and they were still upset that I only tipped 2 bucks.I have dyscalcula and the bartender grabbed my elbow and tried to tell me I was 10 dollars under. I whipped out my calculator and she snacthed the receipt. I'm really sorry but I work in the industry too and asking for money is a big no no especially for a well drink that took no effort. Low quality bartenders.

Bartender nice, friendly customer's. Stopped by for a game of pool, was slightly disappointed with tables, as very poorly cared for. 😪 looking around, i found the table brush. I guess if you want a lump free table, you are going to have to do it yourself!!! 🤷

Recently remodeled, and it looks great! Music Fri-Sun. Blues Jam on Sunday. Great comedy on Tuesday. Friendly neighborhood vibe. Karla and Tammy are the weekend bartenders, and they are super personable. I attended a potluck for Super Bowl Sunday, which was also the last day before The Station closed for the five week long remodel; and it was a welcome community atmosphere.

I go here for the music and the atmosphere. Its a small neighborhood bar that some of the best musicians in Portland may randomly show up at and play live music. There are only bar snacks available so this isn't a dining experience, and they really could do better in that department. The service is great but its understaffed especially on weekends, and honestly if it weren't for the live music, I wouldn't ever go in there.

Tiny stage, food all prepared in air fryer, only 1 person working on a busy Friday night. Bartender, hostess, cook, was fantastic and juggled a lot, but place could definitely be better.

Very quiet Saturday night. Chad Rupp and The Boyz were heating it up. Chad doing Lloyd Jones covers! You go Chadd. Good to be out listening to great live music with my pal Dover Weinberg.

Solid four star experience. Went in the middle of the day for a burger and wasn't disappointed. Burger was presented nicely, had a nice taste, bun was good, fresh fixings, and melted cheese. Also got their fried pickle spears. Those were damn good. Bartender was attentive, friendly, and did her job just fine. I did enjoy the ambiance and will return to play some pinball and shuffleboard.

Don’t let looks deceive you. As a proper old school Portland dive bar this place is so under the radar. They have delicious burger and really good side salad and also their chicken sandwich is remarkably good.

The vibes are immaculate. The music is perfect and not too loud, so you are able to have a conversation. The clientele are polite. A good and affordable late night food menu. And the owner is the nicest dude around. The only downside is they don’t have jalepeno poppers. 11/10 (would be 12/10 if they had poppers 🤦‍♀️)

Solid dive bar, in the classic sense. Low staff, cheap prices, video gambling, small beer choice, cocktails, no wine list, pool, no gd jukeboxes, unruly older drunks sometimes -- exactly what my heart wants -- and their food game is at least diner quality. Their burgers have gotten really good lately.

I kind of wish we had stayed for another drink. We were both enjoying this bar, talking to the regs. But as we were on a mission to squeeze in as much as (super)humanly possible we only had one. I don't even remember what I drank, yellow beer? She enjoyed her Shirley temple with half a jar worth of cherries. Something about hearing someone's near death experience over drinks just hits different. The copper/brass bar is a super nice touch. This looked and felt old school Portland. We should've came After the PICA, I needed all kinds of beer then.

Weird vibes inside 😕 it’s a cash only bar and me and my friends were approached unpleasantly multiple times by people outside and on the walk to and from for cash citing that we were going to a cash only bar. The bar patrons were only male and it just felt weird and off idk. Also it has the same sign as the Vern but the Vern is a way better place.

Didn't get any food. Place smells like cigarettes everywhere. Place looks sketch. Don't have much selection of alcohol besides beer. Rough around the edge type place if that's what you're into. Not my style though. Also only take cash which is a big 👎

Cool bar & grill in the middle of a neighborhood. The steak dinner cooked medium rare is phenomenal! Comes with mashed potatoes, brown gravy, garlic bread & a salad for an appetizer.

I specifically went here because of a review that said they had one of the best French Dips ever. I ordered a French Dip, which was the worst French Dip I’ve ever had! Little slivers of beef, how in the heck are you supposed to dip your sandwich into the au jus???? Overly saturated bun with some sort of fake butter, ughhhhh. I won’t be back.

Had been here several times before but more so late night gatherings and it was always good! Went here for lunch on a Sunday and got an app and two meals and couldn't eat half the food. How do you mess up a BLT so bad that we can't finish it? I couldn't even bite through the skins of the jalapenos on the jalapeno poppers! It was nice being able to watch the game and the staff was kind, just was upsetting spending a good chunk of change on a mediocre lunch.

We happened out find this bar after taking a long walk while vacationing. Bartender was friendly, and I liked that they had an N/a beer option.

Everything about this place is great; the food is good, the service is excellent, great beers on tap. The only problem, it is insanely loud. Not sure if it is just the crowd that frequents, or the design of the building, but I've been here 3 times now around 4-6 in the afternoon on a week day, and I can't even hear my friend sitting next to me. Surprised the staff can even hear customer orders. I think the same people are there every day too, definitely has that local neighborhood everyone meets there kind of feel about it.

More of a 'locals only' vibe which might be your thing. The bouncer also threw me off considering it's such a small place, I can only assume it's for a reason though

Old old st johns boozer. Youd think half of the patrons might even die on the spot. Very sketchy at times..and very friendly at times. It makes you think..i dont want the califonia transplants and hipsters taking it over..and i also dont want to be in a knife fight with some long time drug dealer. Like Dungeouns and Dragons..its a role of the dice. No females after dark unless youre armed..thats all of st John's and portland so not the bars fault. Support, but dont go in thinking some violence could happen walking back out.

A nice neighborhood bar. The barmaid was pleasant & friendly. The men's room was open with no solid outer door only saloon style swinging doors you can see out into the bar & the video machines while you are peeing. Thats the only negative aspect.

My experience here (recently) has been the absolutely best experience I've ever had at the Perch Tavern! Its just a late note help me out for a burger at night spot when I need it and I won't go anywhere else! Some call little bars around here dives, I'm insulted! These places have held up our communities for decades! I know because I was born down the road six plus decades ago and I remember it ALL! We had the car hop A&W! Its now the Grocery Outlet! These places are nostalgic to us who STILL live HERE! And a lot of us still DO! Have fun!!!

Great place! Absolutely relaxed atmosphere, the bartender is able to breathe some life into an ole jive turkey like myself, and she is just as kind as the day is long and witty enough to stand her own ground... Fun evening every time I've walked in the doors, I recommend the Perch to anyone who isn't a stick in the mud, and wants to have a good time, and not waste a bunch of cash on B.S.

Typically just stop in for a drink and poker, but for what I enjoy there; they're great. Prompt, efficient bar service with frequent check ins. Cheap drinks, and a friendly smile with sufficient bar chatter for service, but not to awkwardly hold you at the bar longer than desired.

I love this bar! The drinks are reasonably priced. The KJ for karaoke nights is great and often will sell his amazing smoked cheese and/or hot sauce on the side. This is exactly the vibe I want for a neighborhood bar.

I drove down Portland from Olympia today to have a celebratory lunch with a friend. Being her birthday, she had picked out this restaurant, which of course is right on the water. And I have to say that I was impressed with the super service that we had and the delicious meal that we enjoyed. We were there for lunch and it was drop dead gorgeous 72° sunny boats going by all the good stuff that you expect at a waterfront restaurant. Even boats, pulling up to the dock outside of the restaurant! It all made for a pleasant experience with the ambience being what it was and the wait staff just doing such a terrific job. Thank you! The food was great, I had Pacific fried oysters, and my friend had the lobster wrap.

The service was good even though the restaurant was packed. Cold beer on a hot day on the river, what could be better? We didn't eat but the food looks delicious! Update: I had the food and it was delicious. I had a burger. I would have given a 5 star but I'm not a fan of large buns. The fries were excellent. I want to give a shout out to Jenn Blades. She runs a tight ship t and keeps the place in tip top shape. She helps provide a pleasant atmosphere for all!

This place is a great location, beautiful view and relaxing fun vibe. Tropic get at right in oortland. The food is solid nothing amazing but good. I wish there were my vegetarian options for the tacos and bowls. It's a lovely place to have dinner and enjoy the beautiful area. It is definitely worth the visit.

Such a fun experience. Felt like I was back at the Jersey Shore—or on vacation somewhere! Great friendly service, a wonderful atmosphere, good food, and delicious drinks. I especially loved the “floating” restaurant experience of being right on the water.

Great atmosphere! My mom and I had a wonderful time. While we were there, boats arrived at the dock to come eat lunch, it was neat to watch. Fish and chips and pulled pork sandwich was great! Shrimp ceviche appetizer was delicious!

If you love an easy Jimmy Buffett feelin atmosphere that serves great food and has great waitstaff then This is a place to be. My favorite are the ahi seared tuna tacos with the mango salsa and the coconut shrimp with onion petals.... They have done something for everybody.

An intimate setting and a classic hotel downtown. A few small tables and about 10 seats at the bar. The cocktail bar is one of the best stocked I have seen in the city. While others might specialize in whiskey or rum, the Driftwood bartenders can craft almost any drink that you can imagine. Jeff was immensely helpful and deeply knowledgeable about absinthe, which they do have an impressive selection of. If you've ever thought about trying to chase the green fairy, the Driftwood is a great choice to do so. They have a limited food menu available also but we did not try on this trip.

Came here for dessert and drinks after dinner. Ended up getting both the shoestring fries as a snack and the skillet cookie as dessert. Both were wonderful! The cookie was hot, and very soft. It was a good salt level also, so it wasn't overly sweet. The fries were seasoned well and perfectly crispy. We got the Driftwood Sazerac (which they lit on fire briefly!) And the Germaine absinthe fountain. We enjoyed both our drinks, and Curtis gave us some awesome backstory/history of absinthe and the fountain style of serving. All 3 bartenders working were friendly and efficient. The atmosphere was moody and dark, darker than im used to in bars even, but in a great way. It felt suave and fun, a great spot for a date night or just a classy drink. It was pricey, but the experience was well worth it.

Jeff & Myla are attentive & engaging behind the bar. The well curated lounge music selection is divinely relaxing in a 1930’s-1950’s discography, with a focus on jazz, bebop & swing. Limited draught beer selection but an ample cocktail selection with an emphasis on classic & nouveau-classical cocktails & absinthe fountains for fans of the green fairy. 🧚🏼‍♀️ I’ll try happy hour bites on my next visit. Cocktails are $17+. Pints are $7-8.

I hate loud ambient music and this place has actual music that still lets you carry a conversation and here yourself think. 😍 Husband and I came here for drinks and dessert after Fogo de Chão. He had the Manhattan flight and I had the Raspberry lemon drop with house-made Raspberry syrup. Our dessert was the iron skillet cookie. So good!

First off. I have been coming here since the early 2000’s And I have never…. NEVER been mistreated. Never had a bad drink. Never had a bad food experience. Which leads me to wonder if some of these tall tale reviews are really just that. Tall tall tales or someone who is generally hard to please from home plate and all the way around third. The atmosphere is very nice The drinks are really good The food is really good The service has always been on point. The rooms at the hotel are great.

All of the staff here were very kind! I had been wanting to come in here for a while, so I was excited when we finally went. The drinks were delicious. We talked to Jackie for a little bit on our way out, and she was so nice. The space is dark, cozy, romantic, intimate, with playful and curvy booth seating with really nice wide chairs, small cute little oval tables. The design is made to promote this entire intimate vibe, which was then completely ruined by 3 women sitting close by who were talking so obnoxiously loud the entire time we were there. It was definitely a disappointment and major vibe killer.

07/08/2025 (Tue) The patio is surrounded by trees, making it breezy and very comfortable — such a pleasant place to relax. We enjoyed the Crab and Shrimp Louis ($23.50) and the Halibut Burger ($14.50), along with a Marionberry Lemonade ($9.50) and Noneyard IPA ($7.50). Everything was satisfying and delicious. The sign that says 'The Best Reuben on the Planet' has really caught my eye, so next time I’m definitely trying the Reuben!😍

This was my first ever experience at Goose Hollow. It was very busy for a Friday in the early afternoon. Maybe it was because the weather was so great. The service was as a bit slow, but the quality of the food made up for it. I ordered the beet and quinoa salad with a fish patty on top. It was great! There are a lot of options for people with dietary restrictions, which is nice. I really loved it. I would visit again.

Service isn’t really service here. This place should either have an order/pick up window or full service. The in-between can really confuse a first time guest. They will bring you menus but then you’ll wait around and finally have to go order at the counter. They’ll bring you the food out but then not check back. The drink I did order was made decent. The nachos are a plate of cheap tortilla chips nuked in the microwave with most of the cheese melted to the plate topped with a “chili” that had about three beans and mostly some lukewarm, unflavored reddish sauce, Melted sour cream, and more jarred jalapeños and tomatoes than anything else. 9$ for that was pretty disappointing. We had one round and left. Unimpressed and chances are high that we won’t be back. But Bathrooms are kept clean which was nice.

Great food and drinks, great service, great atmosphere. We were looking for a place to eat while visiting my father in law in the hospital and it was top notch. The sliders are to die for, and the drink I got (vodka blueberry lemonade) was amazing.

If you're looking for a laid-back spot to unwind, this hidden gem is the place to be. The atmosphere is incredibly relaxing, perfect for decompressing after a long day. But let's talk about the food—the ranch dressing here is out of this world. It's so good, it's practically legendary. The wings were absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked and seasoned. My brother tried the burger, and he couldn't stop raving about it—definitely a 5/5 in his book. This place might be a bit off the beaten path, but discovering it on my trip was a highlight. If you're in the area, you have to check it out. BUT seriously the ranch dude… they should make it there daily soup

OK. That was one of the best burgers I've ever eaten. We also had the clam strip. It was also excellent. It's a bar, so don't expect a high-end atmosphere. The service makes up for that. So glad we stopped in.

Came here on 1/10 with some coworkers to try an awesome special which changes each night. Tonight was a fried chicken sandwich, with lettuce, cheese, mayo tomato and your choice of potato salad, fries, tator tots or soup. They have a lot of choices of chili, sandwiches and side items for a variety of people. I had a delicious sandwich full of flavor and moisture with a solid crunch. The potato salad was absolutely delicious with the paprika. I also tried some of the fries as a side dish and it was absolutely crispy and salted nicely. Paired with their house mustard. The atmosphere is very mellow and chill. 80s music blasts in the background and provides a whole vinlbe which makes you want to relax and chill. The wait staff was super friendly and quick to serve you as well. I would highly suggest trying this place and giving the food a glance. I personally do not drink alcohol, but I absolutely will hunt for great food spots.

Tasty burgers and Tots! Fun dive bar with good food, ciders, and cocktails. Great place to meet with some friends over drinks. The staff are helpful and kind, often looking out for the patrons.

Its the neighborhood bar. A spot to grab a burger and beer and joke around with the regulars. Depending on the time of day, you can get a few different social scenes. Also depending on the time of day, parking. The reason the place is populated with locals is that they can just walk from home. I tend to drive around for blocks and sometimes need to hire a sherpa when my parking spot ends up being four or five blocks away. Cool joint.

No cocktail menu, just the classics. Bartender said “nothing blue” 😅 ordered a Jameson ginger ale and its was Heavy (not complaining). Super kitschy decor. Lots of younger kids on the patio when made us feel a little outta place lol

Visited this place for a birthday gathering that was organized after hearing a lot of positive reviews about the cool location, and I'm honestly not very impressed at all. Overall it is nicely decorated and clean, but I don't think it's a particularly standout location compared to other eye-catching and artsy places you could visit in SE Portland. The drink and snack menus are admittedly good, with the food being fairly priced for what you end up getting, and quite tasty. I don't know if we came on a bad night, or if they were having a bad day, but our bartender/server really wasn't very nice and seemed to have a bit of an attitude, and it made the vibes feel kind of awkward for me. The outside area is nice enough and I can see why people like it, but it's not somewhere I'd recommend or come back to unless I was invited again.

One of the most eclectic fun places I've been. Bartender was awesome. Sort of a cross between a barn, a tiki bar and the Texas Chainsaw massacre (and I mean that as a compliment). Loved it. Don't forget it's cash only.

Amazing place! The devote was great, the bartender was really nice, there’s lots of cozy spots to sit, and the drinks are priced well. Such a gem, and really lucky we stumbled across this place on a vacation.

A Roadside Attraction is attractive in many ways-- a low-key neighborhood bar come Tiki Bar come Goodwill come Chinese-restaurant-aesthetic? All of the above. One of the coolest, most eclectic bars in PDX with that old-school lived-in feel. Ample smoking room in the front, toney piano in the back. Cash only, but there's an ATM with an excellently low $1.50 service fee in one of the hidden nooks of the bar.

Total hidden little gem that I just wandered into. One second you're walking through a residential neighborhood mid block, next you wander through the beautiful garden patio with wooden picnic benches for a couple of pints. Super friendly staff, great atmosphere. Definitely feels like a local's gem. Stop by for a drink, bring cash.

I always enjoy coming here. Im not in this area often because I live and usually go around SE but if youre over on west side id check it out. They have angry hour until 6pm with some great deals! Great selection of cocktails and they always have fun jello shots that I have to get every time I come here. Food is great. I usually get their hotdogs (both kielbasa and vegan options are delicoous). Its a great option for meet ups of larger groups because it's pay at bar so people can just close out as they come and go.

Solid drinks at reasonable prices. Great smash burger—I got it on happy hour so it was only $6 or 7$. Chill vibes. Only one TV if you’re looking for sports, but otherwise fun activities and a good outdoor space.

“Sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name…” and for me, that’s Paymaster. This place is the real-life Cheers. The staff not only knows my name—they know my whole crew’s names and our regular orders. That kind of personal touch is rare and makes every visit feel like coming home. Also, let’s talk about the kale power salad—it’s ridiculously good. I crave it constantly. Whether I’m stopping by for a quick bite or settling in for a night with friends, Paymaster always hits the mark.

They have a fake line. Trying to claim importance. Tables inside are empty (see my pic) do NOT patron this business as they are DECEPTIVE, and do not deserve your $$

It's been a while since I've been back here, I believe pre-covid times. The place has gone through some renovations. Both the back and front bars are all socks and easy to get drinks from. The outdoor area in the back is nice and covered with heat lamps. It's pretty spacious and good for groups of people to hang out.

Unfortunately, our wedding party wasn’t allowed entry to Paymaster. Not sure why they wouldn’t want a group of about 20 to come in and support their business, but we were happy to go right down the block the Triple Lindy and be served with grace. The doorman had already let part of our group in until he realized we were a larger size. We could still see ample seating available on their patio as well, but Triple Lindy really ended up being a better vibe in the end. Better luck next time.

I don't like leaving reviews, but felt like I had to here. Dots is actually cool again! Heard there were new owners and wanted to check it out. I loved this bar for years for being a no nonsense little hole in the wall. We went to Church of Film at the Clinton and popped in for a drink after. This place took a nosedive after it was bought from the sisters and turned into a bro bar. It's nice to see that it's back to being a cool little neighborhood gem instead of eating a sandwich named after an Anchorman quote or whatever was going on before. Boozy slushee was one of the best I have had. My friend got a vegan sandwich that looked super tasty which made me look at the menu. Vegans should come check this place out. Really nice menu. Not much else you can ask for.

Had written the place off the past few years due to woeful food and the quality of everything dropped pretty badly. Hotcake House was starting to give them a run for their money in the late night food category. Always had a cheap beer but that’s about it. I heard there were new owners so I went and gave Dots another chance. Huge improvement. Food was great all around. They did some tweaks with the new settings to update the room but still the same old Dots just with good food now. Hope it stays this way

A bar who's interior has apparently remained the same for many, many years, even when ownership was changed. A large, relatively dark space adourned with velvet pictures & plenty of booth style seating. A decent happy hour menu & really good food & drink specials. We ordered the rum tango punch slushie, an Earl Grey cocktail (forgot name but on specials menu), fish & chips, grilled cheese (that comes with tomato & basil soup), & hush puppies; all on the happy hour menu & super tasty.

After watching The Menu, was really craving a hamburger. The Dot’s Burger hit the spot! Fries could’ve used a little more salt but were just the perfect accompaniment to the burger. I hear the cubano is a must try here. Overall great dive bar spot to grab drinks and/or dinner. It’s right along a bike path so it’s a great place to stop by in the Clinton neighborhood for a quick bite or drink on your bike commute. They have daily specials (e.g. $6 slushies on Tuesdays)

I was trying to meet a friend at Reel M Inn on division, but it was closed. My friend Jackie suggested that we head over to Dots in the Clinton neighborhood, so that’s what we did. Due to Covid, they had a window to order food and drinks, and plenty of heated, outside seating. They have a good section of beers, and cocktails etc. menu sounded good as well, but we didn’t eat. I’d definitely suggest this place for anyone looking for a mellow neighborhood bar in the Clinton area.

A great spot to stop for a quick brunch and a brew on a Sunday bike ride. My friend and I rode over from the Sellwood area and made it here via the Springwater corridor trail for most of the way. The food was great, wonderful wait staff and a nice chill vibe. I had the pilsner and Grandpa's Sandwich. I totally recommend this place.

Idk if This is a horror bar kinda vibe but that’s the feel I got from this. I just got done watched a horror film across at Clinton’s and stopped here for a beer. Perfect combo! Definitely a rad place.

Absolutely terrible customer service! Old woman who worked on Sunday morning on September 22nd, was rude and unprofessional. I was shocked to be asked for ID when ordering a simple cup of coffee. It’s absurd to have to show identification just to grab a cup of coffee at 7am on a Sunday morning (!) .The atmosphere felt unwelcoming, she didn’t bother to explain this policy, and her attitude was dismissive. She also brought frozen cream with my coffee, ignored when I tried to tell it and didn’t apologized for it. 0/5 would not recommend to go there and waste your time

Another video poker stop Basic bar with breakfast munch and dinner Chinese American food. Nice bar Close at 11. Video poker mostly go during the day. Friendly enough group. Decent service most always. I. My list of places I do enjoy going to.

Mike is a fantastic bartender and very personable, likely my fave bartender in Portland. I always tend to win at video p there more often than other places aswel, prob due to the sheer volume of players they get throughout the day idk

The food is good especially for the price. The drinks are strong and there is absolutely no pretentiousness about this place. It knows what it is and doesn't try to be anything more. I recommend the tomato beef with fried rice and I cannot wait to try the breakfast here. No kids allowed I'm afraid.

Came in to wet my whistle. When ordering my drink, with a smile the bartender asked if I would like to see the menu. Not planning on getting food I said yes. Before you know it I see biscuits and gravy and a half order very reasonable. Talking with the bartender we chatted about making biscuits fresh and about having a solid gravy that is ready for a customer to add more to it vs having too much already. I decided order the B&G and with full delights it was perfect. Especially with one of my favorite hot sauces on top. Stiff dranks, great food, chill environment. Recommended.

Asked for a fried egg sandwich and got a BLT minus the bacon and the egg. What happened to two pieces of white bread, two fried eggs and a little bit of mayo!?
