Italian restaurant
Cocktail bar
Northern Italian restaurant
Nostrana is a lodge-like Italian restaurant known for its seasonally influenced dishes and popular thin-crust pizzas. The warm and welcoming atmosphere sets the stage for an authentic Italian dining experience. With a menu that changes nightly to showcase the best local ingredients, including freshly-prepared soups, decadent charcuterie boards, homemade pastas, and rustic Italian dishes, Nostrana offers an array of delicious options.
First off this restaurant has the kindest and most polite staff I've encountered in Portland. Everyone also is working as a team and you can tell everyone looks like they are enjoying their job. The restaurant is nicely decorated I love the vintage Italian decor. The food was amazing. I'm excited to go back try desert and more cocktails. The pizza I had was incredible and delicious. I'm still thinking about it and am excited to eat my leftovers today.

This restaurant was recommended to me by a good friend, so I made reservations in the bar, thinking there would be high-top tables in addition to the bar seating. The drive was quite a trek, about 40 minutes from our home, across the river. We were seated right away upon arrival, but unfortunately, the host placed us at a corner spot at the bar, where I had a view of the bar's side. It felt a bit cramped and honestly gave off a "timeout corner" vibe. It was disappointing to be tucked away like that for a first visit, especially with other open seats available. Thankfully, my husband was kind enough to switch spots with me. On a positive note, the bartender was attentive and friendly. The food was truly fantastic. My Negroni was spot-on, and the clams were hands down the best I’ve had at a restaurant. One thing that caught me off guard was the 22% automatic gratuity, especially with an additional tip line still presented. Also, while my seating experience wasn't ideal, the overall ambiance on the bar side was aesthetically pleasing. I appreciated learning that they source produce from their own farm and that employees have the option to help tend it such a great concept. Overall, I would definitely go back, but next time I’ll opt for a table in the dining room for a more comfortable experience.

If it wasn't for the prices I would give it five stars. I got a pizza which with just cheese and sauce. I think it was $22. It was good but more than I like to spend. I also got a drink which was good but was about $18 if I remember correctly. Not somewhere I would usually go. But fancy and fun and really the service was amazing!
Carol-marie G — Google review
My partner and I went here last week for our 7 year anniversary and it was perfect. Reservations were easy and simple to make. I was able to leave a note asking for a table off to the side which we got. The server was perfect in their presence, they weren't too overbearing or too absent. We didn't get dessert because we were going elsewhere, but they brought us some complimentary shortbread cookies and a celebratory chicken candle 😭 Overall it was the perfect experience and we will definitely be back!!!

Love this place! They have a small but affordable priced happy hour. Pizza is delicious and other menu items have been just as good! Have tried multiple drinks and all have been really good. Definitely recommend for any occasion dinner date/plans.

The best Italian experience I have had in Portland by far. Wine selection, excellent. Food, absolutely amazing. Service was wonderful, didn't rush us, and had great suggestions.
Preston B — Google review
Had an exceptional experience at Nostrana! The food was delicious, staff was friendly and helpful. The dessert was especially good. The atmosphere was bar none. Highly recommend the mocktails.
Krysta M — Google review
We love Nostrana and their happy hour at Bar Enoteca next door. The Nostrana salad is the best salad in PDX and everything is always fresh and high quality. Happy hour gets you a personal Nostrana salad for $7 and $10 marg pizzas. You can also get dealers choice glasses of wine for $10. This is a fun place to meet up with friends for happy hour. The main restaurant is also great for a date night. Top notch wine list and rotating menu. One of our local favorites.

French restaurant

Haute French restaurant
St. Jack is a French cafe known for its cozy and rustic atmosphere, offering hearty cuisine and an extensive selection of wines. The restaurant was inspired by the traditional Lyonnaise bouchons, where wine flows freely and rich food is abundant. Originally located on Southeast Clinton Street, St. Jack has since moved to Northwest 23rd Avenue, adding a luxurious cocktail bar to its offerings.
St. Jack never disappoints. Had a wonderful dinner with the family. It is loud and busy enough of a place where you can bring your children for fine dining and not worry that they are disrupting someone's quiet romantic dinner with loud voices (of course within reason). We ordered the bone marrow, steak frites, rabbit, mussels, foie gras, and dessert. Every dish was rich (in a French way) and full of flavor. The staff was pleasant and attentive without hovering too much. Highly recommend!

So good we came back twice in a week! The warm snap pea salad was amazing … I had to come back for a second and this time I didn’t share it :) The burger is easily one of the best I have ever had in my life! We will be returning a third time since I am dying to try the mussels they smelled to die for. Every dish we saw come out smelled and looked delicious. We ordered the steak frite the second time and also cannot recommend this dish enough. The fries are perfect crisp but also moist when you bite down. The meat was perfectly done and had a beautiful crust while the inside was still juicy. Edit: Came back again. We finally tried the mussels, which were amazing! We also have the cucumber gazpacho a try, we normally don’t like cold soup, and my husband said it was one of the best soups he haw ever tried in his life! The Marion berry parfait was also exquisite! Don’t skip dessert!

We had a great meal with two drinks for each of the four of us. The bill, with tip, was just under $500. Service was impecable. Flavors were intense for some dishes, and some were a little salty for my taste. The steak frites, requested medium rare, was medium on the outside and cold red in the middle. The onion soup presentation was most impressive, and tasted great as well. The madeleines for desert were incredible.

We had an exceptional evening at St Jack. While there were a few awkward moments with the staff, the food made up for it. When we first arrived with a reservation, they didn't have a table for 5 ready for us, and tried to put us at a table for 4 with a person on the end. They adjusted after we asked, stating that the tables I asked them to put together were not available when we arrived; however, that was a little like putting it on the diner because they did know we were coming. I had written on the reservation that it was my son's birthday, but they seemed unaware until I mentioned it, and then he got a scoop of ice cream with a candle. We were a late seating at 7:30, but not the only table still seated when we left, and we didn't get any kind of a thank you or goodbye. All minor things, but they do affect the whole experience, especially when you are at a high-end restaurant. But the food, oh the food, was marvelous. We started with lovely oysters that were scrumptuous, went on the bread and butter, light and fluffy with the perfect level of salt. The Gougeres warm from the oven were amazing, as was the chicken liver mousse. I thought the tartar de boeuf was very flavorful, but if you are a traditionalist, as some of my family they didn't love it as much but still liked it very much. My husband had the Sole, and it was an amazing surprise and would be my choice if I ate there again. The moules were lovely, and the curry broth you just want to drink straight from the bowl. The steak frite well well-cooked and fries w/the bernaise sauce were lovely (though a tad bit salty). We indulged in all three of their desserts, and the table was split between the Strawberry Choux and the Meyer Lemon Coeur a la crème as the best. Both were exceptional. We would definitely recommend eating here.

We went to St. Jack’s for my birthday and let me tell you it DID NOT disappoint. I’ve walked past this restaurant for years and have always wanted to try it and I’m so glad we did. My fiance and I sat at the chef’s counter, so we got to watch the team prepare the food. Everything was meticulously put together. We shared a cheese plate, appetizers and a plat principaux apiece. It ended up being more than enough food for the two of us. I wish I could point to one dish as a standout but everything was beyond. The endive salad was light and fresh, the steak was perfectly cooked, the copious amounts of butter in every dish was exactly what they all needed to be flavor bombs, and the light and fresh dessert was the perfect way to cap off our evening. We will be back to try out the pub side of the restaurant soon! We watched so many yummy looking burgers leave the counter (not available on the restaurant side) that we can’t help but want to try one.

Absolutely love this place! The atmosphere is fantastic, the staff are warm and welcoming, and the food is consistently outstanding. I appreciate the creativity in their ever-changing, seasonal menu. They also offer a great selection of drinks and wines. Hands down, the best French spot in Portland!
T T — Google review
We had a lovely dinner at St Jack. We went for small plates: bones narrow, ris de veau, sunchoke tartiflettes along with pommes frites, olives and bread & butter. Everything tasted wonderful and feed us both more than necessary. We will return with my parents when they will visit us for Christmas.
Magali T — Google review
Popped in for a drink and small plate to kill time. I sat at the bar and ordered the Daiquiri Rose and the Warm Haricot Verts. The barkeeper was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The space was warm and inviting. A little too warm for an 80 degree day. I felt that the food and drink were overpriced and underwhelming.

Sweedeedee is a charming cafe located in North Portland, offering a cozy and stylish space to enjoy homestyle American breakfast and lunch. The menu features delicious dishes made from locally sourced ingredients, including granola, oatmeal, breakfast burritos, soups, salads, sandwiches, and mouth-watering pies. This quaint hole-in-the-wall restaurant is best known for its creative offerings like cornmeal pancakes and breakfast sandwiches on fresh-baked focaccia.
We met my daughters here for breakfast. We arrived right when they opened so seated right away. We had a nice window spot, cozy vibes. The decor was fun, restroom clean and roomy. Food was yummy & the staff were friendly. It got busy fast….were there on a Friday.

had a yummy breakfast sandwich and a refreshing glass of orange juice. such a cute little stop on my trip through portland! a bit of a smaller menu but plenty of unique and enjoyable meals to choose from.
Kylee K — Google review
A nice ol spot to enjoy baked goods and breakfast/lunch bites. Don’t skip on the honey cake with cream and lemon curd! I had it along with their yogurt, homemade granola, fresh fruits and honey.
Rachel C — Google review
This place is so cute. 5 friends and I decided to meet up here for brunch after talking about for forever. Word of advice get there early because it's very small and it fills up fast. We were like 3rd in line thank goodness because it's not a place for groups really. Also it says first come first serve but that's not true, they seat everyone at once and then randomly take orders so we waited properly 20 min before we saw a server. We were chatting it up and weren't in a hurry but it was kinda disappointing. We were ready to order when she finally came which was good because we never saw her again. You pay at the front once you are done. The food was so good. I got the breakfast sandwich. The menu is different every day so if you are thinking you are going to get something that's pictured on Google then you may be disappointed. I was hoping for the breakfast burrito. The pastries in the case were so yummy. I wouldn't recommend bringing kids here. Glad I finally tried it but I probably won't be back.

This was my first time visiting Sweedeedee, and I was immediately charmed by the cozy, welcoming vibe of this cute little neighborhood spot. The service was quick, and everything felt relaxed yet efficient. I ordered the turkey sandwich, which was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The bread was fluffy and tasted homemade, which made it even better. I also had the English breakfast tea, and I loved that it was loose leaf and served in a French press—such a thoughtful touch! I’m already looking forward to coming back and trying some of their bakery items. A lovely find!

Late lunch was a hit! Ordered the zucchini sandwich (add bacon). Delicious, served quickly and the atmosphere is clean and airy. Loved the vinyl being played through the small space.
Amy Q — Google review
A wonderful spot for Brunch! Hot tip, the hours on google are wrong. They’re now open at 9am Friday through Sunday!
Alex D — Google review
This place was one of my most highly anticipated brunch spots but I was pretty disappointed in my visits. The menu is limited as is, but they also didn’t have both the items I wanted to order that morning, so it was slim pickings. I’m sure the pastry chef is the reason I’m here because the pistachio raspberry cake was unbelievable and I originally came here for pie. As for grandma’s toast, it was charred on the bottom and every bite essentially tasted like burnt toast. The breakfast sandwich was meh, cookies were decent, and drink was refreshing. Service was also very slow so expect to spend at least a couple hours if you’re a group of 2-3. I’ll probably just reserve a piece of pie and pick it up the next time.

New American restaurant
G-Love New American Kitchen, located in the Northwest District's Carson Apartments parking lot, offers a unique dining experience as the nation's first reverse steakhouse. The restaurant focuses on locally grown produce and places an emphasis on vegetables as the main component of its dishes, with meat playing a supplementary role. The outdoor patio provides a European-style dining atmosphere where guests can enjoy people-watching in the trendy Slabtown neighborhood.
The service and ambience were perfect for our ladies night out! We did a prefix menu which was an awesome choice since we had a big group and no one needed to think much on what to order. The serving was generous and everyone enjoyed the food!
Linda G — Google review
G-Love New American Kitchen in Portland is a vibrant spot that’s earned a loyal following for its inventive menu and lively atmosphere. It’s especially popular for its signature cocktails, like the *Cecilia* and *Maria Teresa*, and standout dishes such as the Crusty Avocado, Charred Hanger Steak, and Mini Donuts. The vibe is hip and energetic—think open kitchen, friendly staff, and even a bit of buzz around their quirky, photo-worthy bathrooms. While many diners rave about the flavors and presentation, a few mention that portion sizes can feel a bit light for the price. Still, the chef’s tasting menu gets high marks for variety and value. If you’re into bold flavors, creative plating, and a fun night out, G-Love might just hit the spot.
Laurent B — Google review
Very popular with vegans and people with allergies, the restaurant reinterprets familiar dishes or invents dishes whose ingredients don’t always go together. All the dishes look very good but the taste is not up to expectations - the lamb was raw, the peppers and pasta were too fatty, the cherry toast looked great but remained uneaten. We were a very crowded group of 6 at a table inside, and we shared a few dishes. The waitress took our plates and cutlery when there was still food on the table. Portions are very small. Expensive.
Carmen S — Google review
Amazing time at G Love! I loved seeing the kitchen! Our mocktails were so tasty and the skewers were perfect sized bites (our favorite was the maple pork belly!) Other great items on the menu were the crusty avocado, beet cured salmon, cioppino, and fried chicken! Don’t skip dessert, we got the golden cloud which had a foam on top of ice cream- so good! Ambiance of the restaurant was cool (I loved the lava lamp!) and the service was great! We’ll be back to try the family style!
Carly L — Google review
Everything at this place is just amazing. It's sort of like everything is literally peanut butter and jelly from both the flavors and the textures. It's a complex combination of things and super interesting. We even got a free gift at the end! Order size 2-3 plates per person. Expect a small pips donut sized donut at the end! --- drinks --- Princess peach ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - so good - whisky was like a back taste - not overly sweet --- food --- Beets + Citrus ⭐⭐⭐ - sweet, liked it a lot by itself - wouldn't reorder though, was almost like a dessert for me ❤️Crunchmaster crisp ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - I loved this - hit the spot and a generous serving ❤️ Ribollita ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨ - reads like an American Italian soup - so comforting though, I love the beans - I wasn't put off by the soggy croutons which I ordinarily am, these croutons were amazing Hamachi Crudo ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - liked the layers of complex flavors - so soft ❤️Mushroom grilled cheese ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨ - couldn't taste the truffle but absolutely amazing - would order again - guilty pleasure - not super oily or greasy Ensalata bomba ⭐⭐⭐✨ - really good but wouldn't order again - think it pales in comparison to the crunch master crisp - had some really good bites - needed more apple relish Seared scallops ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨ - liked the sauce a ton - not sure if worth - perfectly seared though Winter grits ⭐⭐⭐✨ - pretty good for grits - not for me though but my partner loved it - loved all the bites with apples Fingerling potatoes ⭐⭐⭐⭐ - won't blow your mind but the sauce makes the dish, it's creamy and sort of like a very light loaded potato - somewhat small bowl ❤️Crusty avocado ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - the crunch and fish was great together - would reorder this for sure Fried chicken with avocado ranch ⭐⭐⭐✨ - pretty small serving for the price, 17 dollars for 5 pieces - could have a little more flavor for the sauce Cauliflower a la plancha ⭐⭐⭐⭐ - good but doesn't blow my mind - love the crispy potatoes - really relies on the sauce Braised short rib ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨ - I loved the combination of textures - I wish it had more chimichurri - super soft, and they know it too, they only give you a fork - think the meat was just ok to me, but the combination of flavors is what I liked --- dessert --- Poached pear ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨ - not overly sweet - loved the combination of textures Cinnamon donut ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - was given to us as a gift!! I almost cried. - so amazing. Creamsicle cloud ⭐⭐⭐ - one part was a little too bitter for me - my partner loved it - like the crunch and cream on top though

Small-plate style dining. Definitely a great date night find if you are in for amazing food and ambiance. Must tries are the crunchy avocado(do not miss this!), crunchmaster salad, fingerling potatoes and fried chicken. Portions are small and enough for 2-4 little bites, so dont come too hungry 😅 It is worth it though coz everything’s delicious!! Looking for parking is a challenge. Servers are friendly.

110% This restaurant is perfect. The parking is difficult to find and expensive. Not the restaurant's fault. This restaurant gets the She Ash Most Beautiful Bathroom award. Sorry, I did not take Bathroom Photos. This is a nice grown up restaurant. Your children may ruling the romantic atmosphere for other customers. The staff is well mindful of food allergies. I will return to this restaurant to enjoy the food and vibe.

Greek restaurant
Nestled in the heart of the culinary scene, Bluto's offers a delightful twist on Greek-inspired cuisine that is sure to tantalize your taste buds. While initially marketed as a haven for hearth-grilled souvlaki and refreshing ouzo mojitos, this eatery has evolved into something uniquely its own. The menu showcases an array of skewered meats—lamb, chicken, shrimp, and sausage—all expertly charred over a wood-fired grill.
5-Star Google Maps Review for Bluto's Fantastic! A must-try for incredible Mediterranean flavors. Bluto's is an absolute gem. The pita bread is unbelievably fresh and fluffy, and the hummus is the best I've ever had—so creamy and flavorful. I loved the Albacore—the meat was perfectly cooked and had a great flavor. And the swirl… WOW!! Can't wait to go back and try more of the menu!
Kalle S — Google review
Everything here was good, the lamb, the shrimp, the pita, the hummus, the fries. I even enjoyed the pita a lot. I wish the portions were a bit bigger, or any of the food came with pita or fries. That's really the only thing that keeps us from coming back often. It's a cool spot, and the people working there are kind. The inside has a nice vibe and there's outdoor seating.
Kareem A — Google review
Cute, casual spot to feast on some of the tastiest dishes, topped off with a cool soft serve dipped treat. Order at the counter and find yourself a seat. Would highly recommend the lamb skewers, hummus and lots of fresh pitas. Can’t wait to be back and try more!

Bluto's has a casual space and a very focused limited menu. Not complaining though -- its nice to have that sometimes-- makes your choice easy. Their hummus was one of the best I've had. Also loved the beets & quinoa salad. Chicken souvlaki was good too. The only thing we didn't particularly like were the charred vegetables -- they were a little too smoky! They had to make us move to another table mid-meal just to accommodate a bigger group together. That wasn't an issue for us but they went out of their way to make up for it -- apologizing profusely and even offering free dessert (but we were too full to take up that offer). This was our first meal in Portland (ever) after driving 9 hours from Northern California. Found this place on a whim. And it was the most perfect introduction to the food in Portland. Everything was so good! We ordered the hummus, shrimp, chicken and lamb skewer, fries with two sides of bread. And soft serve for dessert. So flavorful and perfect for two very hungry people. The lamb was my favorite. Perfectly seasoned and spiced. I cannot wait to come back to Portland just to eat here again.

Nice neighborhood-y spot with some super tasty Greek-inspired dishes. The hummus is great, as are the Greek Fries. Place gets crowded though so maybe go early - they don’t take rezzies and it’s a bit small.
Andrew C — Google review
Went there for a late lunch. Everything tasted amazing! The bread and hummus combo was our favorite amongst everything we ordered! Wished the meat portion was larger considering the price we are paying for them.

I was pleasantly surprised by the good value, this full-size plate of french fries with a lot of haloumi cheese grated on top was $6, and four of us had dinner for only $54 before tip. The attention to detail was impressive, all the people working there were working together as a team really well to get everyone seated.

Restaurant
Malka is a cozy restaurant located in a quiet block of Southeast Division, offering a fusion of Asian and South American cuisine paired with creative cocktails. Despite initially operating as a takeout spot since its opening in March 2020, Malka has gained significant attention for its inventive and satisfying dishes. The owner, Jessie Aron, draws inspiration from her food truck experience to create vibrant flavors and textures that defy traditional culinary boundaries. The restaurant offers reservation-only dining from Wednesday to Sunday evenings.
The food was amazing. I had the Medusa, the Wind-up Merchant, and the Space Helmet. Each of them delighted my taste buds as new flavor combinations danced through my mouth. On top of that the food was elegantly prepared and vibrantly colored. All of the staff I interacted with were super friendly and made the experience truly unforgettable! I will be back next time I'm in Portland.

Beautiful food and amazing, gregarious staff. With seating within and outside of a beautifully house located on a nice, cozy street; Malka is an amazing dining option. While we didn't have any of the salads (4:30PM and after), the entrees had plenty of veggies to sate our appetites for greens. I'll leave the pictures to do most of the talking. Delicious food and friendly, upbeat service. I only wish I had discovered it sooner.

I have to take pause because I could write a whole love letter for Malka. The dishes that come out of this kitchen make this restaurant sit firmly in the top 5 of all time, which is a tall order given my affinity for Southeast Asian foods. I’ll keep it brief. Do the prix fixe. It’s a lot of food, but you can take it home. Eating in person is a far better experience than eating at home, which I also think is phenomenal. If I was to pick one dish to write a song for, it would be the Bellflower, a beautiful and delicious medley of sweet, savory, crunchy, tart, and overall delicious ingredients that seems a bit confused before it all comes together. Also try the Jolene, Medusa, Rhododendron Garden, 45th and Clay, and I Have a Lot of Feelings (basically the rice version of Bellflower). Enjoy!!!

The food of is amazing! Every dish has so much flavor, color, and texture. We loved all of the use of seasonal produce. The service was casual, but super friendly. We will go back for sure!

This place has been on my bucket list. They have a lot of options for gluten-free and vegan. At the same time, satisfying my husband with slow-roasted pork. We ordered from the three-course menu. For the first course, we got the Medusa and Old Deuteronomy. For the second course, we got the Bellflower and Wind-Up Merchant. For the last course, we got the I Have a Lot of Feelings and the Important Helmet for Outer Space, 2nd Ed. Every bite was emersed with flavor. We will be back :)

It is insane how good this food is. The (many) ingredients in each dish are creatively paired in a way that blows you away with each bite. The environment was comfortable, I love the vibe, and the service was great.

What a fun spot for a date night or for those who enjoy big, bold flavors. The ambience is so unique as they have completely transformed an old house into a quaint restaurant, with equally bold decor as the flavors. The unique and delightful flavor combinations will keep us coming back with others to experience.

They cater to different dietary preferences, including gluten-free, vegan, dairy-free, and ketogenic options. At Garden Monsters, you can enjoy nutritious salads without compromising on taste or satisfaction.
Loved this place! I was craving a big and yummy (but still healthy) salad and this checked all the boxes. You order off an iPad and it lets you customize everything, which I appreciated. I asked for no tomatoes and the staff asked if it was for an allergy. It wasn’t but made me think they would be careful about any allergies.

They didn’t even mix my salad. Kind of hard to eat it. I don’t have a separate mixing bowl. Don’t order a full. It’s just full of lettuce and not the other goodies. Very disappointing.

😎 Salads can be cool! My wife got the Oregon Trail with chicken. I got mine with artichoke hearts. ❤️ I got good portions of the ingredients. I like how you can add good stuff to the salad. It is cheap but in my opinion it's worth it especially for its size. A Fred Meyer salad can be $8 with 4 topings and half the size so I choose Garden Monster hands down. The food cart area is nice too. Seating with umbrellas. Beer and coffee next door. A salad is not just a salad by the way to all out there that poopoo food salad carts. We will go back to try some of the other salads. It was a nice outing on Division.

On the hunt for the best chicken caeser wrap. The ingredients were good and very fresh but not mixed well so the first half of the wrap had no dressing or chicken. No croutons in the wrap either which is my favorite part of a good caeser wrap. The hunt continues.
Abby — Google review
I had The Oregon Trail salad (full disclosure, I did order it with the double serving of grilled chicken as the protein, but I asked for the chicken on the side, so that the photograph would essentially be representative of the un-tossed, "Skip the protein and save $3" version, which would be vegetarian, but could easily be made vegan via substitutions). The greens were fresh and crisp, the quantities of toppings were well-balanced, and were high-quality. The vinaigrette dressing was very mild / light compared to most others I have had, but that wasn't necessarily a bad thing - it allowed the other ingredients to shine, whereas often, a dressing can overpower a salad. The grilled chicken was good, and I have always enjoyed fancy / bougie salad toppings. It was possibly a tiny bit pricey for even a fancy salad, but not absurdly so; I do plan to return to try other menu items - likely the build your own salads and wraps. If they are good, I will probably bump the rating up to five stars. Garden Monsters has multiple locations, SE Division and NE Alberta in Portland and SW Rose Biggie in Beaverton. They specialize in salads, bowls and wraps, have plant-based proteins available, such as veggie chicken, soy curls and organic tofu and they also have numerous vegetarian and vegan toppings. Essentially, it appears that they can (very capably) cater to vegetarian, vegan, omnivore, and possibly even gluten free diets - I saw it mentioned (I believe online) that they have a grill that doesn't touch animal products, but I don't know about a completely gluten-free preparation area, so I would definitely still recommend calling ahead to ask about gluten practices, if you have Celiac disease (as I am certain is standard procedure for those who suffer from it). I also read online that all of the to-go packaging they provide is 100% biodegradable. If you like my photo, and would like to see more local Portland-area food, feel free to check out my foodie Instagram at IG: jonathan.grubb and follow me for more foodventure ideas!

wow... 🤩 this place is worth the price! every dish is made to perfection, the staff and ambiance are wonderful, and the portions are nice and big (great for sharing) we also got the Tum Lao which was VERY spicy! i could handle it but only wanted a few bites note for myself in the future: the yellow curry is a medium spice and you'll want a milder level!

be careful of the spice!!! medium will set your mouth on fire. we are pretty good with spice so we were surprised but the flavors were good regardless. service was a little slow because there was only one guy working.

Restaurant was beautiful, clean, and inviting. Our server was also warm and perfectly attentive. I really appreciated and enjoyed all the unique takes on papaya salad offered at Somtum Thai Kitchen. The salmon salad was delicious but was a lil too sweet for my liking. The goong chae nam-pla was flavorless unless dipped into the green sauce provided. I wasnt crazy about the green sauce. It had a weird taste as if the lime was from a squeeze bottle. I preferred to dip it into the same sauce as the salmon. The papaya salad was delicious as well as the crab fried rice. Would definitely love to try more from their menu.

Seem to be authentic northern Thai food. Interesting to try, be ware some dishes are super salty. I’ve had many Thai food and some are authentic type rather than American Thai, and some can be very spicy, sour. But this is the first time about half of the dishes are way too salty for all 3 of us. - Somtum thai Kai Kem, too salty, the salted duck egg is the saltiest I’ve had in my life. - Pa Khao Noi, a combination plate I recommend. I especially like the fried pork ribs and crispy rice salad. Tom sap kradook on (soup) is too salty. - Gaeng Om Kai, supposed to be medium spicy but not spicy at all. Again too salty. Otherwise I like this soup, I dilute with 1-2x water to drink it.
Fang F — Google review
The salad rolls were delicious, dark green and red leaf lettuce, I loved the spicy peanut cream sauce...the pad kee mow (the drunken noodle dish) flavor was great, the beef was shit, it was so tough I couldn't chew it, spit most of it out, then I just quit trying and pushed the alleged beef to the side. The red curry, also delicious, but the chicken was so dry it was not edible. Picked it out too...then the rice I added to the curry was so dry it wasn't really edible either. As others mentioned I did notice fruit flies around my food, I thought maybe it was because I was sitting next to the alter where they offer food to the dead...they are lucky they are dead...the server only once asked me how my meal was, a single person ordering 2 entrees and an appetizer, after my second bite of food in my mouth, gave him a nod (it was a bite of the amazing salad roll) he saw me spitting out the beef and chicken and pushing the rest to the side, but quickly looked away like he didn't want any confrontation, I was expecting to take enough home for a second meal (2 entrees and an appetizer) but the little I was able to eat wasn't very filling and there was nothing I wanted to take home, I went up to pay and was finally asked how my meal was, I was honest, said beef was tough, chicken dry and neither edible, he smiled and said "yes" then charged me the full amount. I said no, I wasn't paying the full amount, he said I should have mentiond something to my server, I would have if they had ever been back around, I said "I didn't even eat it all, half of it I had to spit back out onto the plate, it's right there, see?" he said I need to pay the full amount, I said no, I will just leave without paying anything, he said I can't do that, I then said "at least let me pay for part of it then, but I'm not paying the full amount" he finally took off part of the tab, but begrudgingly. So sad, I was excited for a late night thai restaurant with such a great looking menu, but the service was shit and the proteins inedible...I might be back for the salad rolls...or probably not

Our favorite Thai restaurant in the area. Flavor, quality and service are consistent every time we go. We recommend their fried chicken, papaya salad and crab fried rice. One of the underrated dishes is Chicken and tamarind soup. Tangy and well balanced soup that goes well with anything!

A quintessential Portland restaurant. It is very Portland like atmosphere. The food is good, just hope they have a slightly larger menu. But that maybe the part it makes a Portland restaurant. Service is good and staff are nice. I wish I had a bigger stomach to enjoy their dessert. Nice place to hang out.

We happened upon Papa Haydn while walking and decided to come back for dinner. It was one of the best decisions of our whole vacation. Definitely stop in if you can, even if only for dessert.

We came for dinner without reservations the Sunday before Christmas!!! Crazy us, but we were patient and ended up with a pretty short wait! Our server was awesome and the food was absolutely delicious. I used to say this was a great place for dessert but just skip dinner… twice, now, I have been wrong in a short span of time. Dinner was so good! I think it rivaled my dessert! Haha! Will definitely revisit for special occasions.

We didn't have reservations, but they seated us quickly. But, it was down hill from there. Placed our order and waited and waited and waited. 40 minutes later we were served. Then we made the error of ordering their famous desserts and waited and waited and waited. They were not busy, but somehow everything took a very long. The food quality is only average. The desserts look the part, but are really hit or miss. Finally, this place does have a kids menu, but it really isn't kid friendly. Everyone will give you're group dirty looks if you bring in kids under 12.

My crab cake was cool and the egg was cold. Luckily potatoes very hot to bring some warmth to the dish. For those prices I expected more. . When I brought it home and reheated my liking. My partner who is a chef tasted it and said they must be afraid of the salt shaker there :(

Visiting from Texas, I didn't expect to be blown away by the filet mignon, easily one of the best I've had. Just the right amount of char and a sweet sauce to balance the bitterness. The broccoli and potatoes wanted a little salt but that may just be my palette. Really enjoyed the cocktails as well, they weren't overpowering and really delivered on the described flavor. Brittany's service was attentive and much appreciated, the entire staff was very pleasant as well. Edit as of summer 2025: They've improved on perfection, the Collete steak absolutely impresses with a chimichurri sauce and buttery savor to support the potatoes and asparagus. 10/10 They update their menu fairly often, the ribeye is still very good although sides are now a la carte, the included sweet salad was quite good

Ripe Cooperative is a charming, informal café that offers both indoor and outdoor seating, making it the perfect spot to enjoy seasonal and regional cuisine alongside delightful cocktails and wine. The menu features unique dishes like a salad with house pancetta, Parmesan, toasted walnuts, and 30-year aged balsamic vinegar—an homage to Paul Bertolli's small-batch creations.
We went here for our anniversary dinner as we wanted something special. Arriving about 10 minutes before our reservation, we scored two spots at the table facing the kitchen. We chose the wine pairing and enjoyed a celebratory (and complimentary!) glass of sparkling wine before the meal started. We were a little worried about the idea of communal seating on our special night, but it ended up being cozy and intimate in our little corner. The food was fabulous, we ate things we’d never tried and loved every bite. I loved the explanations about how the wine paired with the food! By the final few courses I was definitely getting full but made sure to save room for dessert. Such a special and delicious night.

This is a wonderful restaurant! My daughter said the milk bread on this crab roll was the best she has ever had. The fresh pasta tastes like it is straight out of a cafe in Italy. Wonderful wine list by the glass and bottle selection. To top it off we each had a scoop of fresh custard that was perfect. We highly suggest this great place.

100% worth booking the 6 course meal. Everyone was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about their craft. Also, you easily get your money’s worth in terms of food. Beast is one of the restaurants that are hard to get a reservation at, and rightfully so! We were lucky to book a table for a Sunday brunch last minute, and enjoyed a surprisingly diverse and creative three-course meal. Both the presentation and taste of the dishes were fantastic, and a set of petit fours was a welcomed addition to the after-brunch coffee. The menu changes daily, and includes best-in-season local ingredients, prepared and served with great attention to details. The restaurant offers only set menus, which are priced right and let you simply enjoy the experience without worrying about your choice. After trying the brunch menu, we decided to book a dinner at Beast for our next visit to Portland.

When I’m in Portland, The Observatory is my go-to spot. It is perfect for a solo, date night, or group hangout. The drinks are delicious and reasonably priced, and the staff is always friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Their food is also excellent! The area used to be cleaner, but with Portland’s rising houselessness, you might see people passed out or yelling near the parking lot. In my experience, they’ve been harmless, but it can be unsettling to see people passes out due to fentanyl or other drugs. It’s not something the restaurant can control, just something to be aware of—but definitely not a reason to skip this place.

This bakery has been on my favorites for a while and I finally got around to trying it. It definitely lived up to my expectations. I got the seasonal vegetable quiche and it was soo good. My friend and I both got the Oregon croissant which was delicious. The ingredients and bread here are so fresh. You walk in and it smells amazing. However, it was definitely busy and had a line around 9:30am but I would wait for another pastry here anytime.

TLDR; amazing tarts, may probably have to take it to go since tables might not be available We came in late in the afternoon and just got a small mocha, an apple tart and a chocolate hazelnut tart between the two of us. We did get lucky enough to get a table because someone left as soon as we ordered but the place was absolutely FULL when we arrived! The coffee is nice - not too sweet (which is always an issue with mochas), not acidic, super smooth. Love that they have an 8oz size! The tarts were delicious too - I did like the apple tart more than the chocolate hazelnut (which surprised me) - the apple almond combination really was what did it for me! The chocolate one is still pretty nice too- again, not too sweet, very rich with a hint of bitterness. The crust on both was really good - broke easily, not dry, not soggy.

We had lunch here at noon on July 26. The almond croissant and apricot tart were both tasty. My partner said his sandwich, Ken's hero, was quite good as well. I didn't see any flies, but I saw some dust around the A/C. Everything else looked clean.

My coffee was called something ay laite with homemade vanilla and oat milk in it. It was delicious and then we took it next-door to the bookstore and red ball. We hung out. It was absolutely lovely. I highly recommend. Also the Customer Service was very nice and everyone there seemed friendly has a nice welcoming vibe.

We stopped in for a quick lunch, and got a sandwich, soup, and pastry. Sandwich was good, but the highlight was definitely the bread and the pastry we ordered. The baked goods definitely seemed to be a step above the rest, which is what you would expect. Worth a visit if you're in the neighborhood. Definitely a local haunt if you live nearby. Overall 7.3/10.

Here is a memory from my breakfast visit to Ken’s. A lady beside me is taking notes from a science book she is reading. A woman on the long table was crying, freshly wounded by the disclosure of a disappointment. Her two friends huddled her for comfort. My mother in front of me, looking radiant in the morning light while we slowly make our way through the goats cheese and leek croissant and the Oregon croissant whose tart filling perfectly encapsulate the chilly fresh air I breathed in my days here. A cup of mocha that is rich and whose vanilla bean fragrance wafts. Lines that snake to the entrance of people eagerly waiting for their pastries. It was nothing but warmth. And just like that, my morning is made.

My personal favorite was the roasted chicken with caramelized onions, and I appreciate how the sauce was able to be put on the side as it was too spicy for me and would have overpowered the taste of the seasoning on the chicken which was fantastic! (For those who like it spicy, I'm sure you would appreciate the chicken paired with that sauce) I was also pleasantly surprised with how much I liked the Kale dip with molasses and sweet potato dish as I normally don't care for those foods but the way they prepared them was creative and won me over. The Baked Cheese also has a great flavor and is pretty rich and filling. I did notice that some of the menu items appear to have been updated or rotated out within the past month, so some of the dishes might be offered seasonally. Shout out to Bridger who does an excellent job as one of the chefs and I look forward to coming back in the future!

Tusk delivers on every front. The service was genuinely excellent—friendly, attentive, and perfectly paced. The drinks were an absolute 10/10, creative and beautifully balanced. The food? Outstanding. The falafel stole the show—bright green inside from plenty of fresh parsley, perfectly crispy on the outside, and incredibly flavorful. It instantly reminded me of the legendary falafel from Mamoun’s in New York, which is high praise. If you’re in Portland and want a place where stellar drinks meet unforgettable Middle Eastern–inspired food, Tusk should be at the top of your list

Beautiful, calm aesthetic and fun dishes/small plates and cocktails. We did the tasting menu and it was great to try things we might not have ordered otherwise. Our favorites were the salad with tahini dressing and the panna cotta for dessert!
Suzannah S — Google review
Stopped by Tusk for dinner to satisfy cravings for mediterranean fare. The space and atmosphere were very nice, perfect for dining. The food was just okay with its ups and down. Highlight was probably the chicken skewer; cooked nicely and very juicy. Lowlights was the salad that drenched in dressing and overly salty. Something I found bizarre was that the hummus does not come with any bread. You have to order it separately and of course pay extra. If you order the hummus ($12) alone you’re expected to eat it with your spoon. Beware of the 20% forced gratuity!

Delicious falafel . Mediterranean food such falafel ,labneh Hummus usually presented with pita bread but not at Tusk bread is a la carte . A new trend in Portland a 20% service charge is automatically added as part of the bill instead of tip .

Honestly one of the better restaurant experiences I've had in a while. We chose to go with the Deluxe Edition and loved it. The food just kept coming, we got to try most of the snacks & dips, several of the salads, lamb neck, and two desserts. Everything tasted fantastic, but the heirloom carrots were the highlight with a delicious walnut muhammara. They have a decent selection of non-alcoholic drinks which is really nice to see. Highly recommend, would go there again.

From the moment we walked in we were greeted by very friendly staff at the door, from the bar, and when we sat down. It felt like we were acknowledged and greeted by all the staff. It created a very warm welcoming, homey feeling. Right away we were greeted by our server, she asked about drinks and we started there.. we asked a couple questions about the menu and the 3 of us discussed the menu. 2 of the 3 of us are pretty much vegetarians (1 on the omnivore fence too) so our meal was going to be pretty veggie forward. But alas that's not a problem with Tusk's menu. Great menu selections to share items! We had a variety of items and all were uniquely delicious. From the gigante beans - wow, delicious. Kolrabi, pear, bergamot, tarragon dish- again delicious, interesting flavors, fun. Baked cheese with the warm flatbread- yum, could eat this every night, just yummy and cosy, delicious. The Brussels, avocado, lentils- fun chilled dish- very good and loved the crunch of lentils. We also had the spicy hot cherry sauce condiment and it really does go on everything so fun! And the chicken thighs entree with a light rice with pickled shallow and blistered green onion. Hit home, delicious, on a wet drizzly cool nite, could be my go too once a week. We really enjoyed everything and wine! Who doesn't love a good Oregon wine to go their dishes. Great! Only thing we didn't care for was sitting on the enclosed patio. It would've been ok, if it wouldn't have been for a couple things. There were two separate large parties sat across from us, both trying to talk over one another so it was extremely loud in the tent and since it was raining, I was continuously getting a drip, drip, drip on me throughout our meal. Having to shift around every so often. We all remarked on the plates, the metal plates. Did not like them, felt cold, hospital plate and didn't go with the quality of your food. But your food is so delicious it would have been nice to have it shine and be see on a proper plate. Also to of gotten new, refreshed plates mid meal too. Overall, great food and next time in Portland will definitely come back.

Lovely experience! Our waitress was absolutely lovely. Our drinks were made well, and all the items we got hit the spot. We shared the classic humus (with each a flatbread), Little Gems salad, Beef kafta skewer, and the Hawaii spiced chicken skewer. More than enough to leave us satisfied. We also shared the Orange Blossom Coriander ice cream which was definitely a different taste but somehow all the flavors worked. We were seated outside which was perfect as the weather was quite nice that evening. However, as we were closer to the outside corner we noticed little of those tiny gnat flies that was swarming in the beginning which was quite annoying and made our experience not exactly top tier. But overall we enjoyed our dinner.

Harlow is a cozy restaurant offering gluten-free, organic vegetarian dishes and beverages throughout the day. Co-owned by Jackie Sappington, this primarily plant-based eatery impresses with its innovative menu. The Outlaw Scramble, a hearty dish featuring chipotle black bean chili, dark greens, and wilted spinach topped with jalapeno cashew cheese and guacamole, showcases the diverse textures and flavors offered.
Discovered this place on Tik Tok by a previous guest. Placed this on my must do - to do list to come to when adventuring on my 10 day Oregon roadtrip. Very hard to find places that are “true healthy” restaurants when traveling. Stopped in solo 5-30-25 post breakfast hours but before lunch. Was greeted by Cash - SO NICE, great personality!!!! suggestions were made but ultimately I decided to have the Vegan “tuna” chickpea salad sandwich. I had already had breakfast but wanted a light lunch before going hiking. (Had kitchen cut in half for me to take remainder on my hike). Loved the bread (almost sure and hoping it was gluten free) that was toasted lightly but not so hard it was like a crouton. The side soup was a vegetable type soup. Wow! Seasonings were on point with the sandwich and the soup. Bathroom was clean. ONLY THING that had me sad was no souvenir sticker. I travel all over the US frequently and enjoy collecting stickers. I don’t need cups, shirts when traveling. Please consider getting stickers. If I ever come back to Portland area. Hands down you will have a repeat customer coming back. Thank you!!

I’m sure this place is nice most of the time however I did find a bug in my food. It wouldn’t have been too much of an issue if it weren’t for the reaction of the employee I told- there was no refund offered and I was expecting him to tell the kitchen about the issue but it seemed like he didn’t care at all. He offered to remake my food but seeing as the bug was INSIDE of the tofu in my sandwich, I wasn’t very confident that the remade sandwich would be satisfactory. Just a little concerning for the overall cleanliness and safety of the food storage at this specific Harlow.

My family of four was delighted to find a yummy spot to enjoy lunch. One of my daughters is vegan and it can be a challenge to find restaurants for all of us to find something we like. This plaice had a variety of delicious choices and we were all happy! Cute decor, too.

Went here after a hike with a friend at his recommendation and got the walnut chorizo quesadilla. Was not disappointed. It was so flavorful and delicious. Plus the sauce that came with it? *Chefs kiss* Absolute banger of an item. Want to go back and try other things on the menu too since it all looks fantastic but man that quesadilla was so good I don't know if I want to branch out! The staff were also super friendly and the outdoor seating was comfortable. Pricing was great as well. Would absolutely recommend.

Stopped by Harlow and tried their no-cow-milk London Fog. It was okay—not bad, but not great. The drink was heavily sweetened with honey, which overpowered the other flavors a bit. If you like your drinks very sweet, you might enjoy it more. The atmosphere and service were nice, but overall, the drink didn’t quite hit the mark for me.

Ya Hala Lebanese Cuisine is a popular spot known for its homestyle Lebanese dishes served in a spacious and inviting setting. The restaurant offers a fertile crescent diner atmosphere with a menu that includes Lebanese country breakfast, chocolate halva croissant, and kafta burger. Additionally, the establishment features Northwest twists on traditional Lebanese fare, such as butternut-squash hummus. With an adjacent market offering sauces and dips from the meals, Ya Hala provides an immersive dining experience.
One of the best Lebanese food around Portland. Nice vibe and music. The lamb kobabs are amazing. Just order those chunks by themselves that are so succulent and nice. Drinks too are nicely curated. The rice is amazingly aromatic and the place is awesomely divine. Loved how the chef took acknowledged our order and ensure everything was perfect. Try the arak, an amazingly authentic drink. Can be strong one.pice for some, but loved it. The music here is so nice. You can find parking in the lanes nearby the place. The outdoor seating here is plentiful too, though with all the food you may order here, best to sit inside ;-)

Disappointing. I am not an expert and I do not have extensive experience with Lebanese cuisine. Perhaps the few places I have been have spoiled me. I ordered the mezza platter and added a kofta kabob. I paid extra for pita, which led me to believe it would be freshly made. Unfortunately it was a sad, thin, cold grocery store grade pita bread. The hummus was passable, but bland. The falafel was gooey inside and bland. The tabouli was passable but not very tangy. I don't have much experience with stuffed grape leaves, but I found these unappetizing. The Kofta was lightly spiced, but I have had much better. The only things that were remotely flavorful, was the yogurt that came with the kofta and the roasted cauliflower. I found myself eating quickly to get the experience over with. Probably the best thing about the meal was it was forgettable. Service was okay, other than you have to place your order at the counter. $30 plus tip

Visited for Portland Pizza Week to try their slice. Everything they make is incredible, so i had no doubt their slice would be equally fresh and tasty. Just as I imagined, it was all the flavors on top of a pillowy pita bread crust. And the hummus for dipping the slice alone was worth the $4 special price.

If you're looking for wonderful flavored food and great customer service...this is a place for you. The younger girl at the front who took our order was so kind and courteous to us and explained everything on the menu and even brought us water to a table inside to review and answer questions about. We ordered at the register and then she asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside and we went outside. Tbh I was confused at first with a tip option and ordering at the register however, once you order food they truly take of the rest. Bringing food out, drinks, checking in and wonderful conversation. She even sold us on a wonderful Rose beverage she makes that was delightful. We were a little sticker shock from the half chicken option but wow it is a lot of food and tasted so amazing we would easily pay that price again. I think the owners could learn a thing or two from her as she was doing a great job on selling us all these options and ended up making this place a favorite of ours. Only downfall we experienced was the desserts weren't sweet enough for us and the outdoor patio had the sewer smell going on. I think if the girl running the register wouldn't of been so friendly and accommodating we would have enjoyed the atmosphere as much.

We had such a great experience at Ya Hala – especially in the Fairuz Room. The atmosphere instantly transported us—it truly felt like we were in Beirut. The hummus was exceptional—ultra creamy and smooth—and the falafel struck the perfect balance of crisp and tender. The grape leaves had a distinctly Lebanese flair, and the cocktails were festive, with a great nod to Lebanese flavors throughout the drinks list. Mirna took such good care of us, especially being pescatarians, and made sure we had plenty of thoughtful options. It’s a beautiful way to celebrate Lebanese culture—through food, hospitality, and community. We’ll definitely be back!

Stopped in an was immediately greeted and provided some water. I went with the lamb kabob plate, and it was delicious. The portions are large, and the meat was seasoned and cooked perfectly. I grabbed a baklava on my out, and am sure glad I did. While it's packaged up, it tasted fresh and was a perfect end to the meal.

The food is absolutely delicious!! Everything was cooked to perfection. Next visit (yes we will return) I will make sure to take pictures-the food came out looking beautiful. We had gotten the queso fondido for an appetizer, my partner had steak and eggs with a beer and I ordered the street tacos-chicken, carne asada, and veggie. Everything tasted Better than we were expecting! The man serving us was very kind and entertained us with sharing what was on tv when he noticed I was watching. Our experience was-perfection. I would highly recommend this spot for a nice date spot!

Oma's Hideaway is a vibrant restaurant in Portland that draws inspiration from the street food of Southeast Asia, particularly Singapore and Malaysia. The open-air kitchen features roasted chickens, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of dining at a street vendor in Singapore. The menu offers playful dishes like Roti Canal, a Malaysian flatbread served with squash curry dipping sauce, as well as options like charcoal-roasted game hen and Char Siu Rice Bowl made with pork belly and Bali-spiced pork shoulder.
Killer all around! First off the vibes. Spectacular atmosphere with groovy wallpaper, iridescent table scapes, and a disco ball! Now the food. You literally can’t order wrong. We had a mix and match of dishes and although each stood out on its own they all still somehow complemented each other, and brought major flavor. This is a party for your taste buds. The fried chicken and broccoli were my best bites. Service was excellent and they were very knowledgeable about each dish. 10/10 recommend.

We heard very good things about this restaurant. And I want to point out this is personal preference and from my viewpoint. The roti was delicious! You def have to order it! It was a very good start, thank you to our waiter for suggesting it. Then we got the salted egg shrimp. The flavor was just okay. It tasted like a normal curry. Then we got the tamarind fried chicken. To us this was not good at all. The way the chicken was fried was not executed well at all. The batter was weird. The sauce itself was off and didn’t work well at all. What made the dinner was our waiter, huge thanks to him

Really cute spot on the patio (the hideaway). Must get: roti. Super flaky Indian bread with a bit of salt on top. Excellent. Good sauce Solid: beef satay. A bit spicy. So my little one only had one piece. Skip: cucumber salad. Didn't like the fermentation of the cucumber combined with the yogurt. Skip. Sparkling rose by the glass was good. Mocktail " I am serious" was excellent with coconut and pineapple.

Wonderfully prepared food from the options to the presentation to the taste. Just a wonderful eating experience. Really delicious food and fun restaurant. We had the a la carte menu (the chicken, the curry fries and the heirloom tomato salad) and everything was great. We didn't eat red meat otherwise we would have done the tasting menu. We also had the rice crispy dessert, which was delicious although definitely something you want to share! Service was also terrific

Wow what an experience! Tried Oma’s table for $65/person which was fun to try to many foods. I was honestly very impressed by the selection and how flavorful everything was! Not really enough food to get full on tbh and requires full table participation. I think it’s a try once and done type of thing. Skip on the drinks.. not worth!!! They are good but not $12 a drink good.. I’m a bit peeved since we were given “complementary” shots for waiting for our table reservation but they didn’t take it off our bills. Tough lol I am a big fan of the lamb martabak and roti canai! If, and I mean if, I ever come back, I would love to order those again. However, I will be financially recovering from eating out here. Almost dropping a benji for dinner was not on my 2025 bingo card but here we are. 8/10, but being charged for complementary drinks that we didn’t order or ask for leaves a sour taste in my mouth. 7/10. Would I come back? Maybe if I’m rich. If I’m dropping $65 baseline for a meal, I’d rather go to Fogo de Chão.

We've been driving by here for a decade and never stopped before. I'm glad we finally did. We tried the Black and White burger, the pepper steak and the fish n chips. The burger and steak were outstanding. I loved my burger. Wish I'd been eating here years earlier! The fish was good as well. The only weakness was the fries. They were not good, we still ate them. They were not bad, but every bite was a bit disappointing. They look great, but happened to be both burnt and soggy at the same time. The butterscotch pudding though. That was delicious. Cibo is a welcoming Italian restaurant with an imported wood-fired oven that serves pizza, flatbreads, and cocktails. The modern, inviting decor offsets the experimental Italian food served on offer which includes small plates, pizzas, pastas, and meat dishes. The pizzas are thin and crispy on the outside while being juicy and filling on the inside - perfect for lovers of delicious crust. Pastas are also delicious and very filling - beware though they may seem small!
My husband and I are regulars at Cibo! We absolutely love the pasta, the Cesar salad, pasta pollo, bolognese and the atmosphere. Tonight we came a little close to closing but knew exactly what we wanted to order, and our server Sara was AMAZING. She is so sweet and knew exactly when to check on us. 10/10 service and the food was (as always) delicious.

My second time at Cibo, and it was just as amazing as the first! The food was incredible, and our server, Duncan, was an absolute delight. Their spinach is chef’s kiss — truly unforgettable. Last time we had the Tagliata hanger steak and Spaghetti Bolognese, both excellent. This time, we went for the Flat Iron Steak, Manila clam pasta, shrimp appetizer, and polenta fries (the only dish that wasn’t quite my thing). Whatever you do, get the panna cotta for dessert — you’ll thank me later. Cibo never misses — great food, warm service, and a perfect spot for a cozy, delicious night out.

Great vibe and decent food. We came here because of the raving reviews, but the service was disappointing. We came here for dinner with a party of 6 and we understand that it is normal for popular restaurants to have wait times especially during regular lunch/dinner hours. The receptionist initially quoted about 35 to 50 minutes of wait time, and we waited over an hour for a table. What is more frustrating is - we told the receptionist that we are willing to be seated separately if it helps with the wait, because we have seen parties who have came after us get seated before us, but the receptionist said that we have been entered into the system as a party of 6 and it would mess the system up if we try to change it to two smaller parties. Understandable but also extremely inflexible as a business operator. When we finally got a table in the end, it wasn’t like it was one big table for 6, they had to join two tables together anyways so why make us wait for over an hour for that. The computer system might not be smart enough to make that flexible switch but human receptionists/operators should have been able to, that is why you are paid the money to work there and not just have a computer do everything. To top it off, they have the audacity to give us a bill that came with a 22% gratuity charge. Tipping should be optional first of all and 22% should be reserved for service that are outstanding. Not only did the people at this restaurant not do anything impressive for us, they weren’t even flexible enough to help us reduce our wait time to begin with. So despite the decent food and atmosphere in this restaurant, this will be a no from me for coming back or recommending.

Atmosphere is fun and hip. Prices are pretty steep for what it is. Service was great. We ordered the veggie curry and bbq pork fried rice. The curry was mid, very mild lacking flavor but the vegetables were nicely done. The fried rice was honestly inedible. The server took off the rice and mentioned that it is cooked in a wok that gets really hot. Honestly it tasted like the wok wasn’t cleaned off in between cooking and the over burnt flavor contaminated the fried rice. Every bite tasted like charcoal. Would recommend this place if you want very mild Thai food in a fun atmosphere but don’t get the fried rice unless maybe it’s lunch time when the wok is fresh.

When the sensual manifests itself in the form of food. This place is stunning. Easily one of the best restaurants in Portland. The staff dress uniquely and pleasantly, they are kind. The food, erotic explosions of flavors and tastes that are beyond description. (Not pictured) The cauliflower is an absolute must; the boneless wings are delicious. My mouth is watering like Pavlov’s dog as I’m writing this, with the simple memory. The way the brisket pairs with the curry — ephemeral. Wow, truly spectacular experience. Had to go again the following week. Highly recommend

I loved my experience at Eem! The service was quick and efficient- my meal arrived in about five minutes from ordering, and the check was already brought to my table immediately before finishing the food which I really appreciated. I was really excited to try the Thai bbq fusion. The white curry was honestly one of the best I have ever tried. The meat was super tender and the flavors were so rich and delicious. Highly recommend Eem!
Chloe R — Google review
Super duper cute place, I can definitely see why it’s popular. The papaya salad is fire, very very spicy. We love spicy food and it was nice to have it actually be spicy when they warn. The white curry was tasty but lacked acidity, even just a bit of a lime squeeze would do. The red vegetable curry had these amazingly prepared cremini mushrooms, but the overall flavor was a bit lacking, as if they hadn’t used quite enough curry paste. Overall a good experience tho, good music played in there and great vibes. To be fair we are use to very traditional Thai and that isn’t what EEM claims to be!
Kaia S — Google review
Let’s talk about Eem. I tried it for the first time on my trip to Portland and went back because it was so good. The atmosphere is great with open windows with a nice decor. The cocktails are unique cups that you would find at a tiki bar. The food is incredible. I got the Massaman curry w/ smoked lamb shoulder and was insane. I also got the brisket fried rice which tasted burnt and not as flavorful compared to the curry. A ton of people around me loved the white curry and seemed to be a popular item. With a shellfish and peanut allergy, my menu selections were limited, but still ate a good meal. It was very busy on both random days I went, so I would recommend making a reservation if you have a larger party or expect a wait.
Yuri V — Google review
One word TLDR: salty We wait about 1 hour to get a table on Friday night. We got 3 dishes: white curry with brisket burnt ends, BBQ fried rice and hot cauliflower. White curry with brisket burnt ends - the best thing I had. Curry itself got nice flavors and the burnt ends were cooked perfectly. With that said, these two flavors don’t go together and don’t complement each other. 4/5 BBQ fried rice - very disappointing. Nothing special and just salty. 2/5 Hot cauliflower - this one the most salty. I can feel my heart racing through the roof at the end of the meal. 2/5 We also got a fun pickle alcoholic drink. 3/5 i think the saltiness of the food almost ruined the drink for me.

The menu features popular dishes such as Shrimp Pad Thai, Green Curry, Chicken Prik King, salad rolls, potstickers, crab wontons, garlic broccoli beef, shrimp pad thai, drunken noodles and Tom Yum soup. Guests rave about the high quality of the food and the friendly service provided by the staff.
We went after the lunch rush. Received amazing personal service. The food was fresh and flavorful. I am new to the Thai Food cuisine and needed help deciding. I ordered the friendly server's recommendations and was NOT disappointed in the least. Restaurant and restroom was very clean a d prices on par with others in the area. We will definitely return as there are so many more dishes to try.

Very friendly staff. The place has a parking lot in back which convenient as the main entrance is on busy Sandy Blvd. I had order # 3 and 25 featured in pictures. The salad roll was great and tasty and pretty large. It came with peanut sauce and a sweet and sour sauce. The sauce tasted great. For my main dish I had drunken noodles with chicken. The noodles were extra wide, tasty and an explosion of flavors ensued as I took the first bite. I had jasmine tea which was very soothing. The staff were engaging with customers and joking on occasions and very polite. I only gave 4 star on atmosphere as this is an ordinary restaurant. It is simple and ordinary.

We've never had a bad meal at Thai Seasons. Excellent choices for everyone in our family, meat eaters and vegetarians. I love their Pumpkin Curry, usually with chicken, occasionally with shrimp or even vegetarian. The salad rolls are always spot on. The Pad Thai is nice as are the Drunken Noodles. I love the Thai BBQ Chicken and the Tom Kah is always great. We really have never ordered anything we were disappointed with. Service is generally good even when the place is packed.

Found us a neighborhood gem. Not sure why the restaurant had only a few patrons on a Saturday night as the service was friendly, restaurant was clean, and food was excellent with generous portions. I’ve been looking for a solid Thai spot since moving from NY and I think I’ve found it. Check them out for yourself.

This was a random find while looking for a Thai place in the area. I was not disappointed. This place is really good and I would highly recommend it. The ginger dish was so full of fresh ginger. The Pad Kee Mao was just right and the dessert was awesome.

There are so many Thai restaurants in Portland, but this is hands down my favorite. Many dishes not found elsewhere. There are probably six or 10 Thai and Vietnamese restaurants within half a mile of my house, but I'll go out of my way to visit Thai seasons. Well worth it

La Bonita is a casual, family-owned Mexican restaurant in Portland known for its traditional dishes and affordable prices. The generous portions and great tastes make it one of the best Mexican restaurants in the area. What sets La Bonita apart is its extensive salsa bar, offering a variety of flavorful options. Customers praise the non-pretentious, incredibly tasty food and commend the service as well.
I would give them 10 stars if possible! The goods was fresh, perfectly seasoned, and the portion size is large. I had carne asada nachos and my spouse had the carne asada burrito. Both were great and we will definitely be returning.

Favorite go to. Simple, consistent, delicious and clean. Nachos are huge and fantastic. They make their own salsas and omg they’re amazing. Super affordable.
Jessica R — Google review
We live in the area and after walking by this spot many times, my husband and I decided to have dinner here tonight. While we were surprised with generous portions, sadly the food quality did not deliver. While the rice and beans were good, the chicken was flavorless, the guac was mid, but most disappointing was their Chile Relleno dish, it tasted almost toxic, like there was remnants of cleaner spray or something in the dish? Took one bite and spat it out. Due to their quick service model, you pay in advance and there is no quality checks, you even have to retrieve the food from a buzzer and bus yourself, so there wasn’t an easy opportunity to pass along feedback as there was a line. The food also took over 30mins to come out which felt like a long time for a quick service spot. We left feeling very disappointed and doubt we’ll be back.
Vanessa N — Google review
Amazing Mexican restaurant! Food is incredibly tasty and non-pretentious, probably at the top of any Mexican restaurant that I have visited outside of Mexico. You enter, order at the front and wait for your food to be ready to pick it up at the same place you ordered. Has a salsa bar and all the sauces I tried were top notch in flavor, the green is mild and give a good acidic taste, the habanero one is super tasty and kicks it up a notch on the spicy deparment. We tried enchiladas, carne asada tacos, adobada tacos (al pastor), chicken taquitos (flautas). All were delicious and the tortillas are quite good! All the necessary points for a great Mexican restaurant are covered at La Bonita!

I ate there a few weeks ago it was the first time i had ever even heard of this place. I had the veggie fajitas with beans and rice and they did not disappoint. Really good food! super cute place I will definitely be going again.

I surprised myself, easily polishing off this enormous entree and a generous margarita (made with a smile by the charming young man who took our order). The style and vibe remind me of the excellent Mexican restaurants thriving down in San Diego. The food was just as good as it looked. Highly recommend.

Güero is a popular Mexican eatery known for its casual atmosphere and locally sourced ingredients. The restaurant offers a variety of options including Mexican sandwiches, vegetarian bowls, and drinks. Located in Portland's Pod 28 food cart pod, Güero has gained a reputation for serving some of the best tortas in the city.
Wow, such good flavors. I got the masa y papa, partner got the carnitas. Mine had a great crunch from the patty and veggies with the bun being soft but well crisped, and the carnitas were apparently perfectly seasoned and were the highlight of the sandwich. The carrot habanero hot sauce is also great, not too hot and well flavored.
Mollie B — Google review
Oh do I hate places like this. I don't have many tortas. Which is what makes this place so challenging. They left little margin for anything better and left everyone else so far behind. Portion ideal. Flavor outstanding. Texture fantastic. Bread, almost, the perfect single use wrapper. (It was just hanging onto its substance with the last bite.) To say it's just a sandwich would be an insult. Also the sauce is not optional. It's quietly placed on the table with a deafening command. "Try your food first without it, then ensure it's in every following bite." It almost has no right be as good as it is what the ingredients listed.
D — Google review
Love this place! The tortas and the bowls are amazing. You have got to try the hot sauces - made in house and new flavors every day!!! Yummmm. And the vibes are good. Lots of nice fresh plants.
Jaimeleigh S — Google review
Good food at great price. We got the pollo pibil , carnitas, ahogada and refrito. All of their Fortas are amazing. I liked the ahogada tomato sauce. It’s spicy but tastes best with the sandwich. We also got chips and guacamole that was good. Every table had one so we had to try it out.sidral mundel was a nice apple soda. Flan was okay. Felt it was over complicated with the pineapple and the orange juice in the syrup. This was my first time trying toratas and definitely recommend trying it out here!
Sushmita K — Google review
It's been a minute since I went here. We came here for a quick brunch as we were in the area. The place was pretty busy with both the indoor and outdoor seats being filled up. We just kept it simple and ordered a couple of items - desayuno torta and a bowl (added carnitas and avocado). The torta was great as it they had the crispy fried cheese inside it. The bowl was also delicious and well balanced. The addition of the carnitas and avocado made a difference. Overall, we enjoyed it and will try to come back sooner rather than later.
Charlie T — Google review
My friend and I each had bowls (mine with chicken and avocado, hers with carnitas) which were fresh, tasty and generously portioned. My margarita was also a good addition on a hot day. The service was pleasant and the restaurant was charming. Thanks to all the previous Google reviewers who lead me to this wonderful place!
Amy J — Google review
I have been to this place twice. Both times I had the hamburguesa (spelling?). It is the best I have ever had. Let me repeat, the best I have ever had. From the bun, the jalapeños, the avocado, I added roasted Serranos and another patty. It is insane. The torta, the desayano (spelling?) also amazing. The chips, guac, bean dip and salsa were stellar. They have their own habanero hot sauce that is about the flavor not the heat. The best burger in Portland.

Basilisk, located in Northeast Portland, is a popular spot known for its mouthwatering fried chicken sandwiches and flavorful sides. The counter-service eatery offers towering chicken sandwiches with crispy thigh meat, house-made cabbage slaw, buttermilk dressing, and fresh pickles all nestled between a honey brioche bun. Visitors can also indulge in Dandan fries featuring perfectly fried potatoes topped with peanut sauce, pickles, lime, and cilantro.
Flavorful chicken thighs- very well seasoned! Dan Dan fries are among the best I have ever had- fresh flavors and fries stayed crunchy even in all the yummy peanut sauce!! Huge portions… well too big for a lady to finish! :-) requested hot sauce in the side, glad we did as it was pretty spicy.
Amme S — Google review
First time there. Will not be my last. Order the chicken sandwich with heat. So yummy! Secret cheat code...order another before you leave so you can have another one later! Seriously! Anyway. Thumbs up and also if your friends are not into chicken it part of a shared space.so you can get pizza, tight tacos, banh mi, etc. Go there and enjoy some food! Visited again and the spicy chicken still tastes great! They got new padded booths! So nice.
Jim H — Google review
Dan Dan fries were unique - never had anything like them before. I think if I were to order them again, I’d ask for the sauce on the side because by the end of the bowl I was itching for some plain fries. The chicken sandwich was okay. As much as I would’ve liked to have loved it, there was this weird flavor that I couldn’t really place… it was either the oil that they use or the spicy sauce itself. Maybe it was an off night and I might try again and edit this review!
M C — Google review
Wow, crazy chicken sandwich. I had like post chicken sandwich clarity though. I got the dan dan fries and I mean I love the concept and the fries were really crispy and great, it’s just the peanut sauce is pretty salty and heavy. Perhaps a lighter version of the sauce would make the fries 10x better.
Katherine L — Google review
$10 for just one chicken sandwich send expensive but this one is actually with it. It comes with two fried slabs of chicken, and stacks high. The slaw is nothing to note except for its usefulness in catching the dressing that they put on which is a little bit spicy but carries the right flavoring to make the sandwich delicious.
Alex D — Google review
Knock your socks off fried chicken sandwiches. Insanely huge with two pieces of chicken. Unless you have a huge mouth, you take one piece off and enjoy it for desert. ;-) Their "Nashville Hot" sauce is a nice cayenne-based sauce that has excellent flavor. I am originally from Nashville, so I can tell you, Basilisk is certainly better than quite a few Nashville Hot Chicken places. Definitely better coating and flavor than Hattie B's. Basilisk's chicken is a cut above by itself. I love Screen Door's fried chicken dinner, but, again, I think Basilisk has better coating and flavor. If they offered mashed potatoes and collard greens, I would move in and never leave. The macaroni salad is a bit bland, but good enough. You're here for the chicken, anyway. ;-) Overall, if you want an excellent fried chicken sandwich (Nashville Hot or not), Basilisk is the way to go in Portland.

Fried chicken juicy and flavorful every time in all forms: sandwich, "salad", and the plate, which they do offer with no spice as a kid friendly option. The warmest and most generous service I’ve ever had the pleasure of receiving, this cozy and well-decorated Thai establishment offers a fantastic menu of familiar favorites in addition to some wonderful specials. Did I mention they had great service? They had great service. The prices were reasonable, the flavors authentic and balanced, and even their water had hints of lemon and cucumber. I could hardly decide what to order they had so many tantalizing specials, and I will definitely be returning to, as they say, “catch ‘em all”. I highly recommend the chicken and shrimp crispy basil. No mayo, just a tangy vinegar-Im hooked 🎣 definitely bringing the hubby back here for a date night. The eating area is cute and lively, great place for lunch. It’s probably mobbed at dinner.

The atmosphere and setup is pretty nice. The fish & chips are good. If you like Caesar salad, it is pretty good. The poke bowl… visually appealing but why. For me, the coconut is too much and unnecessary in the rice and the seasoning is overpowering on the salmon. Poke bowls should be refreshing, with ability to taste the buttery flavor of the fish and add some salt from soy. Could barely taste the fish. If you’re into heavily seasoned sashimi, you will enjoy this. If not, try something else.

First time here and it was a pleasant experience. Our server was great and the atmosphere is really warm and welcoming. This popular fish market and restaurant is quaint and the food is delicious. While you're waiting try out the hot sauces at the table. My favorite was the green one. If you love it, too, you can buy any of the line in the market. We had the sablefish and the fish and chips. If you've never had sablefish, you've got to try this. It tastes delicious and melts in your mouth. This dish would be especially good if you want more of a light summer food fare. It comes with spring veggies which round out the dish. Oh, and the fish and chips??? The were not oily, the portions were great and they taste great! The 'chips' resemble jojo's, but don't let them fool you. These chips are the perfect blend of soft inside and really crunchy on the outside. They taste buttery which makes them super yummy. The only off thing, and this is my personal opinion, their ranch has dill in it. I'm kinda a ranch snob and don't equate the two. Now you know. Do get in to this place early to get a table. If there's a wait, though, it's TOTALLY worth it!! Excuse the photos. It was so good I almost forgot to take pics.

Cute little spot. Never understood the bowl craze, ive always felt they weren't worth paying for, something you could easily make at home. Decided to give Canteen a shot, I got the bangkok bowl. It was okay, wasn't great. It tasted like a lazy variation of something I usually would eat for dinner at home.

Needs work. They have too many smoothies made of watery fruits and veggies, not enough with protein and fat. As well, they over-do some of the ingredients: the ginger smoothie is too gingery and the citrus one is overwhelmingly citric to the point where it's unpleasantly acidic. I've had consistently better experiences at Kure.

This place is doing Mediterranean food a great service. Wow, we had heard great things from friends about this spot and it certainly lived up tot he hype. We came in for a celebratory dinner last week and had a reservation for the back patio. I’d definitely encourage reservations as the place fills up quickly. The inside of the restaurant had a charming rustic decor and smelled amazing with aromatic spices wafting from the kitchen. We were seated on the back patio which is a quaint space with a wood overhang and probably about 8 tables. It was a perfect evening and warm enough to enjoy eating outside. I’ll note they do have heaters for cooler nights. Food wise we went with the fried chicken, corn bread, corn ribs, peaches, burnt end hummus and the kebab. Everything was fantastic. Standouts were definitely the hummus, which maybe was the best I’ve ever had, as well as the fried chicken. Everything had rich flavor and was easy to share which was perfect. The drinks we had were also tasty and added to the meal. The service overall was solid. Waiter was attentive and helped determine the right number of dishes. I would say you can get away with probably a few more than recommended. We were initially told 4 plates would be good but got 6 and wound up being full but still happy we got an extra 2. Will definitely be going back here and can’t wait to try more for the menu!

Very rarely but I was so impressed by how delicious the food here was! It was absolutely the best pita I’d ever had - effusing aroma and sweetness of the grains - and paired with one of the best hummus. The fried chicken was no less impressive - so juicy and flavorful. And how wonderful it was to end with a slice of basque cheesecake made just right. Will come back!

I live in the neighborhood and didn’t come here for a long time because Mediterranean food isn’t my thing, but I’m so glad I finally gave it a try. We ordered 7 dishes for 3 people, which was 1-2 dishes too many but everything was absolutely delicious and so flavorful. My favorites were the roasted cauliflower, the cornbread and the green beans. The service and the vibes were great as well. Can’t wait to go back!

Radicchio salad was a crowd hit and a must try. The shakshuka is perfect -- not too sweet or acidic, well balanced and spiced. The falafel is full of flavor. In short, if you're craving good Mediterranean food, this is a spot to try. Great ambiance and service.

Service and staff was great but food very mediocre. Favorite was the hummus but i wish there was more than a dollop to eat. Chicken was rubbery. I think i was mostly underwhelmed with the fusion part of it, it felt like a confused middle eastern approach. Wouldnt return.

- brunch - Recommended 1-2 dishes per person ❤️Rise and shine hummus ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - I adored this - the server recommended a side of cucumber with it and it was so necessary - super fresh and flavorful Shakshula royale with feta and merguez ⭐⭐⭐ - really good but not for me - wish it was a little more saucy, it was a bit hard for me - as a consequence I think I wouldn't add merguez next time - little expensive to add feta Khachapuri ⭐⭐⭐✨ - little salty for me - needed something but I'm not sure what Schmaltz cornbread ⭐⭐⭐⭐ - way too sweet for me but honestly is good if you're into that sort of thing - the schamtz was so savory and delicious

Mediterranean restaurant
Restaurant
Spitz in Portland is a funky chain restaurant known for its doner kebabs, fries, and other Turkish dishes, along with a selection of craft beer and regional wine. The restaurant prides itself on using the finest ingredients to create award-winning food. With well-decorated interiors and world-class chefs, Spitz offers a delightful dining experience. Customers appreciate the solid portion sizes and diverse menu options.
I love coming here! The food is always exceptional. I might always get the vegan döner basket, but at least I get it with both kinds of fries! Sweet potato waffle-cut fries and the house fries. 🤤🤤 So good! The Mediterranean dressing is phenomenal. Spitz hits all the right buttons. The food is on point, no worries there. The service is always good. You order at the bar, grab a table, and bus your own dishes. Standard. The staff is really sweet and always knowledgeable about dishes and drinks. Super glad they serve "fake beer" as my server last night kept emphasizing. 🤣 And the atmosphere is really fantastic. When the weather is nice, like it is right now, they roll up the garage door, bump the jams, and keep pumping out the vibes. Have you seen the chandelier? Unlike any other I've seen. I really should have taken a picture of it. But would a picture have done it justice? Not a chance. Go see it for yourself! And bring your friends, I've been here three or four times in the last month. I came here with my parents when they came to visit, with my partner a few days later, and again with a couple friends last night after Porchfest. 😅 Don't be a dummy like me, download the Spitz app and get points on your orders.

We usually love getting food from spitz but recently, our fried pitas have only included the end pieces. They weren’t like that a few months ago! Has anyone else experience this ?? What’s going on

Ordered online and picked up. Website was easy to navigate, and they offer some discounts when you create an account. Food was yummy, however ordered a combo with a Greek but there was no dressing on or on the side of the salad which was disappointing. When I walked in the terrace had a nice vibe and cocktails looked yummy.

I Loved the food and the fact that it was quite easy to select something that was in line with my dietary restrictions. I love that there are plenty of vegetarian/ vegan options as well. This was the first time I ate from Spitz but Oh my goodness, it was ALL super delicious. Because of this awesome experience, I’d hate to not rate the atmosphere as a 5 because even though I ordered delivery, I can tell this place is just great and I wouldn’t want to leave this section unrated or at a low rating for no reason. You guys are awesome and I can’t wait to actually dine-in. Thank you!!

I can’t get over how delicious Spitz is! It is definitely a neighborhood staple for me. Everything from the wraps to the bowls are delicious. Food comes out quick and the indoor/outdoor seating is enjoyable whatever the weather. Highly recommend!

My buddy kicked off his bday bar crawl at this location. We sat outside on some stump stools which are charming, but mine was slanted and quickly became uncomfortable. I heard the bowls were tasty so I went in and ordered a bowl and a cocktail. I pulled out a $50 and was informed that they are able to accept cash, but lack the infrastructure to make change. I cancelled my order and went to sit with my friends. A very generous member of our party bought my order for me and the food was good! I won't be returning to this establishment though, as I really didn't find it welcoming or pleasant under the circumstances.

Normally, I'm not one for chains, but after looking at their menu,I knew I had to try it. And it absolutely slaps! There was so much that I wanted to try, and my only regret is that I don't live closer to try more. The food is so flavorful I would highly recommend it.

Rabbits Cafe is a trendy, quick-service eatery in Portland that caters to vegans and vegetarians. Despite its name, the cafe offers a variety of hearty vegan bowls and wraps filled with fresh vegetables, soy curls or beans, and flavorful sauces. With limited seating available at its locations on Southwest Oak Street and Northeast Killingsworth, it's best to plan for takeout. The cafe's menu includes an array of salads, bowls, smoothies, and homemade hot sauce.
Loved loved loved this cafe! While it is in a strange location, I imagine it caters mostly to people who work in office buildings nearby, I think everyone should go check them out. The food is delicious and the service was great. The chef or owner I think was very kind to us and came out to check that everything tasted good. The smoothies were great and the food had a ton of flavor! I’ve tried two other “vegan” or “healthy” places in Portland Harlow and Kirari and this by far had the best tasting and most unique food of all of them.

Rabbit's Cafe, tucked on the ground floor of the US Bank Tower (aka Big Pink) in downtown Portland, is still killing it (veggies, not animals) in 2025! Their vegan bowls are fresh, flavorful, and totally satisfying. The crew’s working hard to keep the tasty morsels flowing despite the challenges nearby. Pop in, grab a bowl, and support this local gem! 🌱 #RabbitsCafe

I sincerely recommend you drop whatever you’re doing right now and go get one of these bowls ASAP!! I couldn’t believe I almost didn’t find this place… it was honestly one of the best meals I’ve ever had!! 🙌 I ordered a second breakfast scramble bowl to bring on my hour long trip to give to my parents because I want them to get to enjoy it!

Wow! Just WOW! Owner operated. Food is made with love. Such amazing people. We got the incredi-bowl. As soon as we ordered a regular customer came up to us and said order anything you won’t be disappointed. He was 100% right. The soy curls were fire. The flavors were on point. Every ingredient was fresh and picked with love. Note: yes it is inside of the office building! Go inside.

Delicious waffles and bowls! It is a little hard to find, located inside a mall-like building, but it is worth the search! Fantastic service and very fresh and delicious vegan food!

I'm not vegan but Rabbits Cafe was delicious. It's tucked inside a cavernous office building, but don't let the setting fool you. The food is made with care and is full of flavor. I got the chickpea bowl and could happily eat it every day.
Brent M — Google review
Not only was their food out of this world delicious but flavors melting on your tongue in ways I didn’t know could happen. They were also so kind and helpful about other great spots to eat around town. Their tofu is local and so good. We ate almost all the dishes on the menu and 3 smoothies. All worth eating again! Whole place is gluten free and vegan except for the tortilla on the burrito. Hard to find: don’t give up! So go inside the building where it says Portland city grill and the guy at the counter inside will send you down the hallway. The entrance to the building is to the right of parking garage entrance.

This place is truly a hidden treasure!! It’s legit hidden and the food is amazing. Plus the people are great too. The owner is friendly and his food was great. Restaurant
Taqueria Portland is a Mexican eatery located in St. Johns, offering a mix of traditional street eats and familiar dishes in a casual setting with communal and counter seating. The restaurant serves up classics like soupy beans, red rice, saucy enchiladas, and mojado burritos swimming in red sauce and cheese. Their tacos are particularly noteworthy, featuring crispy meats on housemade corn tortillas with a touch of grill char.
From the customer service to the food this place is great! Staff is super friendly and helpful and the food is delicious and full of flavor! Prices are super reasonable! If we lived here we would make this place a regular stop lol. Definitely suggest stopping In and grabbing a bite!

a solid Mexican spot with a huge menu with all your favorites. Friendly service with a small dining room and tiny patio out front for seating. Food was very good, house made salsa amazing…have to admit, I wish they had better chips for it.

The atmosphere at the Taqueria Portland next to Key Bank on Morrison Street is akin to that of a vibrant bar, ideal for socializing. The customer service is exemplary, and the food ranks among the finest Mexican cuisine I have ever enjoyed. Each visit is a unique and memorable experience. I frequently come here during my lunch breaks, and one of my recent meals stood out as exceptional. The culinary skills of the cooks are truly impressive. This establishment deserves the highest praise—an unequivocal five stars and a perfect ten out of ten.

I was so excited to take the lime chips that I had bought and take this case of beans home and eat them and to my disappointment, they had been exploded in the bag because they were packaged so poorly, and it makes me wonder if the employees carry at all UPDATE: One thing I will always respect is a business that tries to resolve the situation and they reached out to me asked me if they could remake the entire order gave it to me for free and apologized profusely for how the beans were Packaged. They even told me that they’ve changed their practices around how they package their food because of the review they got so how could I not leave such stellar service of five star rating again? Absolutely go visit this place. The food is pretty good and they really care about their customers

Nestled in a cozy corner, XinhXinh Vietnamese Bistro is a delightful haven for anyone craving authentic Vietnamese cuisine. This charming eatery boasts an inviting atmosphere with its intimate dining space and outdoor picnic benches, perfect for enjoying their diverse menu. From classic vermicelli bowls and fresh salad rolls to the comforting warmth of pho and the iconic banh mi sandwiches, every dish is crafted to perfection. A standout option is their BBQ Tork, which offers a unique twist on traditional pork dishes.
We stumbled upon this place on a cold rainy day and I’m so happy we did. This adorable spot is located in a central area right next to a massive food cart pod. We chose this place simply because it was dry and indoors. But after stepping inside, I realized we stumbled upon a hidden gem. We ordered the Phõ, a bahn mi, and pot stickers. Within the first couple bites, we were hooked. The phõ broth was great, the bahn mi was flavorful and had a great texture. Before we left, we ended up ordering to pork buns Togo. We couldn’t even make it two blocks without breaking them out. So flavorful! Side note. They have GREAT vegetarian and vegan options! We will definitely be coming back

The food is delicious and very fresh. Huge portions and it keeps well, I ate my leftovers two days later and it was almost as good as the original day it was cooked. Lots of veggie options. The odd part was the service. We arrived at 8:20pm (they close at 9) and were told it was only to go then when we decided to leave and eat in somewhere else. He then told us we could stay to eat so we ordered, got water and sat down but he wrapped up the food all to go so we were able to eat out together as we had planned. Very awkward miscommunication but the delicious food made up for it.

This food is AMAZING!! I love the vegan BBQ tork and the vegan Thai iced tea. These are things that are hard to get vegan otherwise, and XinhXinh does an incredible job. Ive been here several times, and this last time I took my family, and my mom (who is generally picky eating out) was a HUGE fan. I hope to be back many many more times:)

Best $12 item I’ve put in my mouth in a long time. Serious dose of veggies with a light and flavorful sauce served promptly with beautiful execution. No-nonsense counter service, clean tables, what else do you need in a lunch spot?
Dan F — Google review
A casual, counter-order restaurant that serves up some delicious and creative banh mis. I tried the BBQ Tork Banh Mi (made from tofu and mushrooms) and the Pulled Pork Banh Mi. I enjoyed the texture of the Tork a lot, and I absolutely loved the strong, marinated flavors of the Pulled Pork. The bread was soft and pillowy, and smelled nice and fresh. The ratio of mayo and sauces used was perfect, and it was stuffed to the brim with crunchy pickled carrots, daikon, and cilantro. A good banh mi is all about the textures, and the mix of different textures in these was very pleasant. For appetizers, I tried the Shrimp Salad rolls, which tasted good and standard (nothing too special there), as well as the Crispy Salad with Pork. I liked the sauce flavors and mix of crunchy vs tender textures in the salad; the pork was very flavorful. I also tried some of the Beef Pho— the broth was excellent: very flavorful and aromatic though a little too salty. Overall, prices are solid and reasonable too, and the service was very quick. It was pretty empty for a Tuesday dinner, and it was easy to find a table for dine-in. — Price (relative to peers): 4.6/5 Food: 4.6/5 Ambience: 4.4/5 Service: 5/5 Overall Value: 4.6/5

The brewhouse offers a laid-back atmosphere and spacious outdoor seating, making it an ideal spot for enjoying their unique beers, which have earned them several awards. Visitors can expect delicious food options such as burgers and potato croquets, along with interesting cocktails and great microbrews.
Steeplejack Broadway did a great job taking care of us for a large coed/family-friendly baby shower. They made great recommendations when it came to the menu and the space and all of our guests commented on how naturally beautiful the atmosphere was. The service team went above and beyond to help make sure we had everything we needed before, during, and after the event. The food came out beautiful and everything was delicious. We honestly couldn’t believe how much food we received and felt like it was a really great value. We highly recommend this place!

What a fantastic setting! This former church turned restaurant, bar, and event space is an entire vibe. Bring your friends and some playing cards and enjoy the atmosphere. The food left a little to be desired (I.e., the wings had great flavor but breaded in such a way that really could have benefited from being fried instead of underbaked, the nachos were also flavorful but would have been better plated so that the toppings could be distributed versus in a bowl).
Jolleen W — Google review
We had a really fun time here. The venue is beautiful and the lemonade cocktail I had was very fresh. We also really liked the sweet potato fries. We will definitely be back!
Mae O — Google review
I had the absolute pleasure of trying these loaded fries and tacos, and they were nothing short of phenomenal! The loaded fries were a flavor explosion—perfectly crispy fries topped with tender pulled meat, fresh herbs, tangy pickled onions, and a creamy drizzle that tied it all together beautifully. The textures were spot-on, with the crunch of the fries complemented by the richness of the toppings. The tacos were just as incredible—vibrant, fresh, and bursting with flavor. The perfectly spiced, slow-cooked filling paired wonderfully with the zesty pickled onions and crunchy pepitas. Each bite was a delightful balance of savory and tangy, with the fresh herbs adding a fragrant touch. Both dishes showcased thoughtful attention to detail and an abundance of bold, complementary flavors. Whether you’re a fries fan or a taco enthusiast, these dishes will leave you thoroughly satisfied. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates gourmet street food done right!

If you're a food enthusiast looking for a diverse culinary experience, World Foods is the place to be. This Lebanese-inspired market in Oregon offers an array of fresh local produce and specialty goods from Eastern Europe and the Middle East. From local kombucha to an extensive selection of international beers, this spot has it all. You can also enjoy a glass of wine or beer while indulging in their southern Mediterranean-influenced deli offerings or exploring specialty foods from northern Europe and Asia.
I'm in Portland for only 3 nights and I was here twice during that time. I came for breakfast and had the ham and brie rolls and a cold brew (their coffee is fantastic!) and I came for lunch the next day and had the sumac potatoes and the roast beef. It's home-style cooking at its best. The staff is super friendly and if you're ordering from the deli, you'll have to pay at the cash register, so no tipping system in place. Most of the food is Lebanese in origin but there's also a lot of variety. I can't recommend this place enough! Their baklava is also worth trying.

My sister and I dropped in for some snacks before our train commute home and were greeted with excellent hospitality. I came here for the first time, got caught in the rain and I guess my emergency poncho wasn't up to the standards here because the security guard stalked me the entire time I checked out the store. I spent about a week's budget here and didn't even get a "thank you" just a super cold send off. A couple items from the deli weren't good including the ready-to-cook macaroni which had a distinct off sour smell when I opened it at home even though the sell-by date was the next day. The stuff available is cool but it is expensive and they place is snooty. I will not be coming back.

One of my favorite hobbies is exploring gourmet food stores and this is hands down my favorite right now. I can’t say enough about this place but it’s my wonderland. Can’t wait to come back here and this time I’m moving in 😂.

Sandwich shop
Tokyo Sando is a popular food cart in Portland, founded by Taiki Nakajima who initially planned to open a ramen food truck. The menu at Tokyo Sando rotates, and customers eagerly anticipate the return of their favorite sandwiches. One customer raved about the miso pork katsu sando, praising its soft bread, crispy tender pork, and savory tangy miso sauce.
Tokyo Sando is worth the hype! Been trying to go for a long time and loved my first visit today. I had the Miso Katso Sando with Chicken and my mom tried the Miso Tofu Sando. They were both so flavorful and delicious. The chicken was crispy outside and not dry at all. Sauce is perfection. I really wanted to try the Tokyo Gyoza Scotch Egg Sando but they were sold out already by the time I came (around 2pm). They were also sold out of Pork. Very excited to come back to try their other options. The food truck area is really nice, with lots of other vendors and seating area. Street Parking was also pretty easy.
Carolina K — Google review
We finally tried these sandwiches— chicken miso katsu and Tokyo curry pan special, both were amazing! I personally liked the katsu sando better. We arrived very shortly after opening on Saturday and the line was roughly 15 people long, but I imagine that’s how it always is, and it moved exceptionally fast. The woman at the register was very sweet and friendly. Our order was ready within 12 minutes despite the lunch rush. My one warning is that if you get a sando with a hardboiled egg, make the egg your first bite! I made the mistake of taking my first bite from the side and my egg went flying into my lap, ricocheting off my pants and landing on the ground under our table where several pigeons fought over it. We happened to finish our food just when other sando enjoyers were getting visibly irritated by the frenzy, so we bounced, but 2-3 of those pigeons had a blessed day.

I’ve been a regular at Tokyo Sando for years now. I try to swing by at least once a week. The food is consistently good. The staff is super friendly. Best Sandos in all of Portland. Every me in a while they’ll also write me notes in Kanji. One of my top three places to dine in Portland.

Soooo good. The Miso Katsu was so delicious. Staff were so sweet and accommodating. While waiting I walked around and grabbed a few other items at other vendors but Tokyo Sando stood out the most by far. Craving this sandwich badly while writing this review. Can’t wait to have it again!

Amazing sandos! So good! We didn't know it was so popular until we got there and thankfully beat the line 😄 But it was would be worth the wait. Next time we are in Portland we will stop by again.

This place is every bit as good as people say it is. Owners keep the line moving quick and are kind and welcoming. Katsu is crispy and hot, house miso sauce is sweet, tangy, and unbelievably good. Black garlic adds an extra pop of flavor and seals the deal. Highly recommend.

I absolutely love the Harvest Bowl at Laughing Planet! The combination of flavors is always fresh, wholesome, and incredibly satisfying. The ingredients are high-quality and the bowl is packed with a perfect balance of grains, veggies, and protein. It’s my go-to meal every time I visit the SE Woodstock location. The staff are friendly, the atmosphere is welcoming, and I always leave feeling nourished and happy. Highly recommend!

Had a quick road trip stop here for a couple of burritos. You can tell the ingredients were fresh to be sure, but I think unfortunately we were a bit underwhelmed in terms of flavor. It wasn’t busy, but it still took awhile for them to make the burritos as well.

I love Laughing Planet, and this location is in a great area. However, the food was disappointing. There was only one slice of avocado, and almost everything was made with black beans.
Yadi K — Google review
Gone downhill. My son loves this place so we tend to get it when it’s just the two of us. Tonight, he went to pick it up and eventually had to leave after it was delayed by 25 minutes as he had an appointment. I went instead and there was a long line, 2 people working there but only 5 people seated? So, 30 minutes delayed, I got my miniature, $15 scoop of cold beans and rice and a boatload of sour cream on top. Gross.
Marisa O — Google review
The food was good and the prices were reasonable. The atmosphere is comfortable and there is plenty of space between tables. The staff was courteous and friendly. The flavor was quite good on the Thai bowl. It was not too spicy. I think the portions could be a little larger on the bowl dishes but that’s a minor quibble. If you want to eat at a restaurant with healthy choices, fast service and reasonable prices, then make sure to pay the Laughing Planet on SE Woodstock a visit.

I recently visited the Belmont Laughing Planet, and thought it was reasonably tasty. That experience opened me up to trying the local Woodstock location. The food was fine. My husband thought his pozole portion was small.

Top Burmese is a hub for delicious Burmese food. They have vegan and non-vegan options, as well as variations of common dishes. Try the Coconut Rice with tofu, Gin Thoke salad, Nan Gyi Thoke, and Oh No Khao Soi.
Our experience at Top Burmese was great. Our waitress was kind, helpful and answered all our questions. The menu has a lot of unique items with a lot of vegetarian options too. We tried the Burmese chicken curry with paratha, Ohno Khao Soi (noodles), Fried Tofu and Burmese cake for dessert. Everything tasted great and we had a great time dining there. The only thing to consider is that the food is quite heavy on oil and butter so if that is a concern I would encourage you to speak with the staff to see if other options are available.
Raunak M — Google review
Stumbled upon this place and kept coming back for the killer flavors. Tried more of a tasting menu this last trip so I could have a range of options. The fermented tea salad is still hands down the best salad I’ve ever had. The curry got my 4 stars. I was wildly disappointed in the consistency, texture and lack of flavor. The place is quaint, cozy and fills up quickly. Don’t eat outside if it’s cold, the heaters only work on the top of your head. Service is attentive, sweet.
Caitlin G — Google review
After hearing that Top Burmese was ranked in the top 50 independent restaurants in a magazine, I was super stoked to check it out. It was also a quick walk from our Airbnb so even better! I will start off with saying that our service was impeccable. I forgot the name of our server but she was on top of everything, had great suggestions, and overall made sure we had a great time there. Kudos to her! The food left a lot to be desired. The Nangyi noodles were very soft as opposed to a nice chewy texture that we’ve had at other Burmese restaurants. The flavor overall was a bit bland as well. The lamb dish (I forgot exactly what it is called and it is not listed on the menu online) was very tasty with a good portion of lamb. It reminded me of a non-spicy lamb vindaloo. No complaints there. The green tea leaf salad was very tasty especially considering it has no protein in it. I think it would fit better as a shared dish as opposed to an entree. The prices were definitely a bit on the steeper side but I didn’t feel like it was overpriced. The indoor seating is a bit quaint but there is also outdoor seating if the weather is nice!
David C — Google review
My super smoking hot girlfriend and I stopped by for a date night and I am glad we did. The staff took good care of us and was able to get us seated next door. Outdoor seating is open as well. We had the paratha which was fluffy and dipped well in the veggie and bean dips provided. Finally we had the pick three curry option. And I couldn’t say which one liked most. They were all so good in different ways. We did the chicken, beef, and coconut tofu curries. Would highly recommend giving them a try.
Trent W — Google review
Clearly labeled and tasty vegan/vegetarian dishes. For starters, we ordered the Gold Samosas stuffed with potatoes, carrots, and peas. My friend recommended the Khao Soup Coconut Noodle Soup. Very tasty. The coconut curry broth is served on the side. Highly recommended. This is a small restaurant so be prepared, it can get noisy. Watch your head as you leave, the door is abnormally short.
Kurt A — Google review
I think this food is done well... The ramen thing was really good! We didn't know this was a mostly vegetarian type place. I do believe they have some chicken or lamb in a cpl of their items. We almost walked out because I was unaware of what I got us into. Once we saw the menu we almost made a run for it, but the hostess was too quick! So I made a decision to try the ramen thing and I'm glad I did! For a Burmese menu, I believe this place does it with the best of what it offers with a touch of class.
Nic H — Google review
I’m writing this review as a Burmese person. First of all, the food here is not authentic, which I could accept if there was at least some effort to maintain the original flavours or blend them thoughtfully with local tastes. We ordered Shan Noodles, and while they used pho noodles, which are somewhat similar, that part was acceptable. However, the rest of the dish—the vegetables, sauce, spices, and overall flavour profile—was far off. It simply did not taste like Shan noodles. As for the Nan Gyi Thoke, the noodles were soggy and completely wrong—not even close to the real thing. I understand we’re not in Burma, but dried Nan Gyi noodles are available in the U.S. There’s no need to use udon noodles, and if they must, they should at least use a higher quality version. Also, one of the most essential ingredients in Nan Gyi Thoke is roasted chickpea powder, which adds a nutty, creamy texture—and it was completely missing. The taste was okay, but not accurate. The fried Burmese tofu was actually good, but the sauce served with it might not suit local taste buds, so they should consider offering alternative dipping options. The tofu itself tasted fine, but the presentation was poor. The pieces were cut so roughly, they looked like leftovers. Even street food vendors in Burma cut their tofu more neatly. The service was okay—nothing special. And considering the food is not cheap, the quality, authenticity, and taste should definitely be better.

Expatriate is a trendy lounge with a chic black walnut bar and Asian-inspired decor. The menu features global bar bites and creative cocktails. One of the must-try dishes recommended by food expert Gary Okazaki is the unique Expatriate nachos, made with super-crackly won ton chips, creamy Thai chile cheese sauce, lemongrass ground beef, and other flavorful toppings that challenge traditional nacho expectations.
One of my favorite places in Portland, and one of the few that I will ALWAYS be down to visit. Food is amazing. Drinks are wonderful. I love reading the little stories that each drink gets on their menu. Do yourself a favor and get the butter sandwich, the shrimp toast, the burger and the mushrooms. Yummmmmm
Katharine T — Google review
The two of us ordered a cocktail each. I had the Starling and my companion had the Night Dreamer. We both really enjoyed our well-crafted beverages. We ordered the spiced fries and the shrimp toast. Those fries and dipping sauces were outstanding. We can’t stop talking about the shrimp toast. We thought we were starting there and eating more elsewhere, but we agreed that we should have stuck around and ordered more.

I needed a spot to pregame before a show at Alberta Rose Theater and this was my choice based on both proximity and word of mouth. I’ve been to a few “cozy” bars in town, but this place was easily the coziest. Smaller than expected with a sophisticated, almost gothic aesthetic. The one bottled beer they serve is pretty damn good. The obvious highlight for me were the nachos. Similar to the dragon nachos at the Crystal Ballroom Mcmenamins, but more sophisticated flavors and superior presentation. I arrived hungry and couldn’t quite finish them! Added bonus: they’re only a 5 minute walk from Alberta Rose Theater and they let me use the bathroom about an hour later when I was waiting in line. I’ll definitely be back!

Whilst searching for late night food we were desperately driving to a last ditch option when we passed the Expatriate and decided to try it and what an experience. The cocktails were divine, the chicken sandwich was life changing. The server was spinning ethereal tunes and never skipped a beat. Pure bliss!

Drinks are excellent, & this atmosphere is electric! We loved listening to vinyl in this candlelit, dark yet inviting bar in Portland 🍸
Sophie M — Google review
Had the fries and they were fantastic! Had a couple of cocktails, as did friends, and they were good as well. Service was fast and friendly. The space is small, which I am finding is actually pretty common around Portland. But it was cozy, not cramped. It was difficult to read the menu without having to hold up one of the candles to it.

Absolutely fantastic place. Great atmosphere. And the food is top notch. Come here and get the butter sandwich. It sounds a little bizarre but such a wonderful flavor. The burgers were divine. Just a crazy amount of flavor in everything we had. Bold food for bold people. Drinks were nothing short of stunning. This is one of the top spots in Portland for a reason and it doesn't disappoint. Can't wait to come back!

Really great craft cocktail bar....depending on who's mixing. If Mike is behind the bar you'll enjoy some of the best cocktails in Portland. They spin cool vinyl records which is a perfect fit for the funky vibe of this joint. Go for the drinks. The nachos are a fusion approach that are unique and a must. The spicy chicken sandwich is very flavorful and one of the best you'll have anywhere. Check out my profile for more great eateries and cocktail bars.

The Woodsman Tavern offers a rustic and cavernous space serving Northwest small plates, platters, and inventive cocktails. The seafood bar showcases the freshest West Coast oysters and crabs, while the meats undergo a rigorous screening process to ensure quality. The Tuesday special features buttermilk-sopped fried chicken that is fried hard in lard, herb-salted, and drizzled with honey.
What is not to love?! The service was on point, even being his second day. I had a Vodka Sour which I rarely order since it's hard to find a bar stocked with egg whites, yet they executed perfectly. Everything we ate was delicious. Hush puppies, butter board, cured steelhead, oysters, and onion dip..I'm drooling just thinking about it all. Simple food using great ingredients done just right. Whoever did the interior design absolutely nailed it, love the woodsman vibe, even the bathroom candles were thought about. I'm happy to see this place return after a couple year closure.
Kelsea L — Google review
Overall we had fun, but not the quality of the Woodsman from the past. Service was nice, and the ambiance is great but the food was underwhelming and overpriced. The bad stuff. I'm not an expert on food costs but will explain why on the food. The seafood tower was really good, but $150, I don't know, seems a bit steep for what you actually get. Again could be priced right, but not sure. But the food on the tower was amazing. The steak was the most disappointing item we ordered and the most expensive at $60. I would advise anyone from ordering it. The cut and cook is equivalent to something you would get at Applebee's, harsh but honest. That's literally what it reminded me of. Dry and thin, just felt like a cheap cut of meat. Also, the onion rings with it were super dried out, didn't even eat, and the spinach was bland at most. The dips are amazing, but the chips to dip with, are disappointing. You'd expect a place like the Woodsman, with its respected ownership group, to make something themselves. You just get some Trisquits and Ritz crackers which I felt was a bit weak and uninventive. The good stuff - just get the burger. My friend said it was really good and it looked really good. Overall, I think they can improve and hope so because it is a cool spot.

Last time I had been was precovid. Disappointed this time around. Perhaps lots of changes in the kitchen. Service was at best mediocre by Diana. Appetizers were better than the entrees. The hostess and other servers seemed fantastic and attentive.

Slow and casual for happy hour on a Wednesday around 4:30. A good time to try some of their drafts, at $3 for an 8oz pour. I enjoyed sampling the hibiscus sour and a half dozen oysters on the half shell ($16 for HH). Due to an error or miscommunication, I was served a bonus house-style egg salad sandwich as well. 20% automatic gratuity is included in the bill, which I don't think encourages outstanding customer service.

Everything is always insanely delicious. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Portland. I don't know what else there is to say! Check out these brunch pics...
Lorissa P — Google review
The deviled egg with smoked trout, pickled serrano and Aleppo pepper was a great starter. The pickled peppers were the perfect bright foil to the rich egg filling. The chicharrones with barbecue spice and grilled lime were a great snack to accompany a pre-meal beverage - crunchy, spicy, and still crackling. Both starters reflected a unique house approach to remix classic fare. The surf & turf gumbo with andouille sausage, duck confit, oysters, shrimp, and okra was a great recommendation from the bar manager, Ashley. The chef's Mississippi heritage was well-reflected in this Gulf Coast staple.
Nathan M — Google review
Been there twice for brunch, and both times the food was excellent. However, the only fresh vegetable they had available was iceberg lettuce, so when one of our party had medically induced limited palate, all they could provide was lettuce and vinaigrette So don't go if youre thinking "maybe I'll just have a salad."

From the outside you’d never guess how good this place is. The food was made fresh and tasted amazing. The young man at the counter gave us good suggestions, and turned down the music when I asked with a smile. They also occasionally introduce special salads to celebrate various occasions.
This is a unique Salad Bar restaurant ~ We had 2 slightly different MEGA BBQ ranch salad ....with added avocado and arugula, both with Chicken added protein option. The greens veggies and avocado are excellent and exceptional FRESH! It was fun to watch the salad chef mix everything together in a large stainless steel bowl! The feature I especially liked is that you can get your salad dressing mixed right in, in light, medium, and heavy options, or, on the side! We also had the Thai curry soup which was a delicious spicy treat on a heavy rain-shower day in PDX! It's a very small place but full of large, bay-style, windows so lots of light. The pricing was a bit off-putting as add-ins cost $2.95 - 3.95

I went to this cafe for breakfast and it was an amazing experience. The cafe was very pleasant and cozy. The staff were also very friendly and when they messed up a part of our order they were very kind and quick to fix it. The food itself was phenomenal. It tasted fresh, it was light but very filling. I enjoyed everything that we got. My personal favorite item would be their sweet potato bowl, it is one of the best breakfast bowls I've had. I highly recommend this cafe if you are in the area. WOW! What a surprise! Walking by, it doesn’t look like much; but, it over performs across the board. The cocktails were fantastic - I had the Little Black Dress and wanted to have ten more. And the wine? A small selection; yet, each one we tried was wonderful. I’ve had much poorer wines at higher priced restaurants with more robust (as in giant) wine lists. Oh, right, we went there to eat. Well, there were four of us and we had the Seasonal Starter, House-Made Focaccia, Fennel Roasted Organic Carrots, and a sausage pizza. All were outstanding and even I, the avowed anti-vegetable person, fell in love with the carrots. The pizza had a perfectly crispy crust that held up to the delicious toppings. There are many nice places to dine in Portland; but, on my subsequent visits, I will definitely grab a picnic table outside, load it with great food and drink, and totally enjoy this dining experience tucked away in a quiet neighborhood. And the staff? Personable, funny, and wonderful in all regards.

Great place for cocktails. We tried about 6 of them and they were delicious. The appetizers were really good, especially the Garlic Knots and the Jalapeño Poppers. The Pizzas were a bit disappointing, although the bread was great and cooked to perfection, the sauce lacked flavor and ended up tasting pretty bland. The chocolate Panna Cotta was delicious and definitely one of the highlights of the night. Overall a really cute place for cocktails, a really nice vibe with an amazing staff and great service.

Rangoon Bistro started as a Burmese farmers market stall and has now expanded into a full-fledged restaurant. The menu offers affordable options, with the pork and cabbage loaded rice noodle dumpling standing out as a particularly filling choice despite being listed as a side dish. The diverse flavors of the dishes keep the dining experience interesting, and adding chili oil on the side is recommended. The service is efficient, and the staff are friendly.
We ordered the carrot salad, two entrees, and their “spicy soda.” Even though it is semi-self-service, the employees were very kind and they were on top of retrieving used dishes from the table. The spicy soda was quite unique and definitely lived up to its name. If I were to change anything, I would have ordered a different salad (the salad was really yummy), but the flavor palate was very similar to the chickpea tofu so I would have liked to get the ginger one instead.

We ordered the tea leaf salad, the very big bun, Shan noodles, and 5 piece fried chicken. All of those were delicious except for the fried chicken which was ok, not exceptional. Service was very fast despite how busy they were. Would return!
Evelyn T — Google review
Wanted to try something new, never had this type of food before, and I enjoyed the rice noodles the most! Kinda ruined a part of the photo 😅 The giant dumpling was good. Don't remember if that was the name, but I enjoyed the hot foods the most, but my vegetarian family members liked the salads! What i found odd was that you had to go and order for yourself or your family and to also get your own water. It felt weird to get 8 cups of water by myself and give them out to each of my family instead of having them give water right when we had sat down. No worries, it was an interesting experience. I think it is better to eat here with a small party of around 2-4 people. It's much more casual, as I came in here with a party of 8 thinking it would be a nice dinner spot.

This place is great! They accommodated our large group without issue (pretty last minute). We got to try almost every menu item and it was all delicious. I especially loved the mushroom noodles and the dumpling. The fried chicken was a big hit with our group as well. It felt like an awesome value for pretty perfect food and a great vibe.

Restaurant
OK Omens is a trendy, unpretentious spot with outdoor seating that offers a variety of cocktails, wine, and beer along with small plates. The place underwent a stylish renovation in 2021, featuring an open kitchen, cozy bar, and a beautiful patio that attracts a hip crowd. Known for its extensive selection of Rieslings and commitment to natural wines and classic varieties, the restaurant has gained attention for its carefully curated drink menu overseen by sommelier Brent Braun.
Came for happy hour. The omen spritz is my favorite. The dollar oysters ( one dozen per person) is such a great deal and fresh real horseradish!!! I’ve only had real horseradish on oysters in Vancouver Canada. This was such a treat! We got a wine fight and raw marinade veggies, fried chicken and endive Dungeness crab salad. So good. Yes I ate before the camera. It's that good
Caroline P — Google review
ok omens has both a lovely indoor interior and outdoor dining space - we had a good feeling as soon as we walked up to the entrance. service was thoughtful and attentive (i.e for certain dishes like the trout toast, if the table is sharing, they’ll bring it out already evenly cut for the party). our interactions with multiple servers were all positive. while there is an automatically applied service + wellness charge that may sound high, the pricing of the food & wine are quite reasonable, and service was consistently good enough that we found it all to be pretty fair. for food, we had the cured trout, dungeness crab salad, bone marrow beef tartare, and bbq mackerel. we were really impressed by how well seasoned and delicious all the dishes were. we found none of them to be either bland or overly salty!! (though of course this is subjective to our palate) great portions as well. while we don’t normally care for wine, it felt like a necessary part of dining here since they call themselves a wine focused restaurant. thankfully their menu made it very approachable to order, with clear descriptions and suggestions for food pairing. we ended up with a delightful glass of german sparkling wine and “n/a sparkling wine-ish thing” cocktail, and i’m actually excited to come back again and try more of their extensive selection.

if you like “jacqueline” then you will LOVE ok omens. i especially like coming here for their happy hour to get their fresh oysters. overall everything here is delicious. they switch out the menu every few months and i’m always excited to try something new. one staple i always get and recommend is the torito salad. it’s so crisp and fresh and pairs well with most entrees! definitely eat here if you haven’t yet!
Keyana T — Google review
The happy hour is one of the best around! Such great prices and options. Oysters were perfect, their bread and butter was delish, and I’m a sucker for some great thick fries. Their drinks were yummy - refreshing and not too sweet - and a great wine menu too. We enjoyed our cheeseburgers and steaks - solid and straightforward but not necessarily mind blowing. Service was great too despite being very busy. Love the open windows and ambiance.
Jen R — Google review
Ok Omens is a gem! The food is amazing and the wine selection is out of this world. We sat on the patio and it was delightful. The service was great and our server gave us a lot of great info on the wines.
Nancy G — Google review
Oysters ⭐⭐⭐ - had mud worms on it, was a little grossed out - they're ok for oysters, but I'm not an oyster girl - wish they comped the oysters after the server saw all the worms on it Mussels en escabeche ⭐⭐⭐✨ - like this more than the oysters, but less than the fluke crudo - it tastes like marinated fish, which it is - love the tomato and general pairing of the oil - definitely needs bread and butter to cut it Fluke crudo ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨ - really complex layered flavors - loved the citrus taste - not fishy at all, but undoubtedly savory Kelp cured trout ⭐⭐⭐⭐ - my partner loved this but it was a little too strong on the fresh horse radish for me - it wasn't intolerable but it was just really hard to eat a lot of it - was really good though ♥️Raw beef with its bone ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨ - I really adored this - it was salty sometimes but the server came by and gave us a lemon and it really aided in the taste - very soft, flavorful - not much bone marrow but delicious ♥️Green pole beans and chanterelles ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - undoubtedly the favorite on the table - so fresh and delicious Cheese burger ⭐⭐ - adored the fries, I think they were twice fried and dusted with something to make it extra crispy - just ok cheeseburger, had to ask for ketchup, it didn't blow my mind McFarland springs steelhead trout ⭐⭐⭐ - my boyfriend likes this but it's just ok to me - needs a bit more flavor for me - it is cooked perfectly for steel trout though, not all the way - wasn't chalky

stunning dining experience. Every dish was exceptionally balanced in flavor/ texture/spice. Service was perfect. We’ll be recommending this to everyone. The Szechuan peppercorn fried chicken has ruined me for other fried chicken!

Restaurant
Farmer and the Beast in NW Portland is a delightful culinary gem that combines the charm of a trendy food truck with the sophistication of fine dining. This unique establishment offers an array of delicious options, including hand-cut fries, shakes, and burgers crafted from beef, tuna, or vegan patties. What truly sets Farmer and the Beast apart is its commitment to seasonal ingredients showcased through a weekly 6-course prix fixe dinner menu. Each dish reflects a deep appreciation for fresh produce from the Pacific Northwest.
Ate here with my family in October 2024. Nice sunny, chilly day visiting Portland. I had the chicken sandwich and it was delicious. My boys had burgers and loved them. The lemonade was delicious but expensive for the little cup. In a little section off the street with 3 other food trucks, and some outdoor picnic seating. We had no problem parking around the corner, but no parking right in front. Free water and cups are available in the seating area.
David N — Google review
Easily one of the top burgers in the city. I’ll be back to try more on the menu, although it will be very hard to not order that beast burger again. A big shoutout is owed to Edward and the team here for being cool and bringing the farm freshness to the face.
Jordan H — Google review
I ordered through UberEats so no rating on service or atmosphere. I ordered the small beast and an order of hand cut fries. The food was delicious but my fry order was ridiculously small. I.qam attaching a photo for reference. For $6 I expected a more generous portion.
Deb M — Google review
Honestly, one of the best burgers I ever had. The only thing I hate it was that you have to do everything on the screen instead of the staff helping you. the lemonade has a lot of sugar. It could be better other than that it’s a great place to eat.
Kevin — Google review
Really good burger. Some say best in Portland...but I like Killer Burger better. But taste is subjective. Patties are fab. Good bun. I added jalapenos, bacon steak and grilled onions. The bacon tastes like ham. The basic burger is $11. With my additions it came to $16. Parking is challenging. Tap and pay accepted. Check out my profile for more great eateries and craft cocktail bars..
Michael K — Google review
Oh I wanted so badly to enjoy this place, it looked like my kind of burger! We must have ordered at the wrong time, I think they were over-extended. When I arrived to pickup the food, I ended up having to wait another 30 minutes. They were getting hammered with people and online orders. We eventually did get our food and it was pretty good. The burger I'd say was decent, like much better than any fast food, but I don't know, there was something that was missing to take it to the next level. My wife agreed. The french fries were excellent! I also got the chicken sandwich which I thought would be stellar, but it was a little burnt to be honest, so the burnt bits sort of overpowered the taste. I think maybe this place is a victim of their popularity? I'd like to try them again at a less busy time. They definitely make some good food, but the night we went it wasn't quite there.
Paul M — Google review
Maybe the most mid burger and fries I've ever had. No idea what the hype is here. Everything was under seasoned. I'll give it to them for their cool staff and quality ingredients, but this is not the gem people say it is
P C — Google review
The cart is one of the nicest I’ve seen and the pod is clean and cozy. The burger meat is flavorful and bun is fresh, but it’s a little pricey and the fries were salted a bit too aggressively.

Health food restaurant
Bastion PDX is a charming gluten-free restaurant located in the Sellwood neighborhood of Portland. While it's known for its brunch, which is available all day on Fridays through Sundays, it also serves breakfast and lunch with a slightly different menu on Wednesdays and Thursdays. The restaurant has a cozy interior but can get crowded, especially during weekends when outdoor seating might be necessary due to limited space indoors.
I love this place! I look forward to brunch here almost every weekend. The food is outstanding. Ingredients are impeccably curated from local sources. And the dishes are expertly crafted to delight the palate. The menu changes seasonally. Today we enjoyed the Chicken Soup a La Pistou and the Salmon Hash. I also love their grain free Acorn Waffles, the Chicken Salad Sandwich and their Avocado Toast. They have indoor and outdoor dining. Dogs are welcome at the outside tables.
Dahra P — Google review
I enjoyed eating brunch here on a brisk but sunny April morning. I had the golden milk latte that was delicious and the salmon hash, which was packed full of a variety of veggies and protein. Food was pricey, but knowing I was ordering from a menu built on nutrition as a standard, it was worth paying for it. The only reason I didn't give a 5 star overall is because my partner got the chicken sandwich, and he really wasn't impressed with it.
Briana H — Google review
Bastion PDX is a bustling spot with fresh, high-quality ingredients and well-executed dishes. Everything we tried was delicious. The place gets busy for good reason! Looking forward to coming back to try more of the menu.
Estela L — Google review
Stopped in for lunch. Cute place with friendly staff. I love that everything is gluten-free. We shared a butterscotch cookie while we waited for lunch. It was a soft and chewy style cookie.i got a chicken salad sandwich that wZ okay. It was on the bland-ish side. My wife's salmon bagel was really good and was the star of the meal. The side salads were pretty good but could use a smidge more of the vinegar dressing. I saw that you can buy gluten free bread loaves and we're planning to come back to buy some of those. The bread on the sandwich was great. We also got a berry smoothie that was really good.
Elijah S — Google review
The food is all gluten free which I love! While there is good depth and quality to the menu, flavor is a little lacking. Salt is definitely gluten free too, y'all lmao. Some of the ingredient combos are... strange, but still very enjoyable. The atmosphere is great and so is the service! We will be visiting again to try different dishes!
Ally G — Google review
My husband brought me here for my birthday brunch. I’m gluten free, legume free and mostly dairy free. This place is all of those! Amazing fresh options and a cozy indoor and outdoor environment. We ordered the Chicken Soupe Au Pistou and shared the Sweet Waffle Potato & Acorn Waffle. The soup was amazing! The waffle was really good but definitely not sweet like a traditional waffle. ✨ I only wish I lived closer.

Organic, quality food with variety! Such a wonderful find that aligns in so many areas of health. A healthy place that also offers animal protein is a rare find & this place is such a gem! Putting it on our short list of edible restaurants in the Portland area! From drinks to food, I will have to be back to try more menu items as there were so many amazing choices. Side note- some other people in our group tried to bring outside food indoors to eat but were redirected outside to eat on the patio as they are a gluten-free establishment. They were so kind & I respect this action so much. The staff was friendly & the atmosphere was welcoming. The plants throughout the restaurant were vibrant & well taken care of. Such a find! Will be back for sure!

I really love this place. Ive been coming here for years. I have had a couple misses, not a fan of their chicken/waffle combo. But their salmon hash, soups, beverages & avo toast are all fantastic. The service is always very friendly & the vibes are nice. Highly appreciate the whole menu being gluten free and free of refined sugars. Its nice to have a place to come to for a meal that truly makes you feel nourished.

Nestled in the heart of the city, The Sudra is a vibrant Indian-inspired vegan restaurant that caters to all palates. With an enticing menu featuring dishes like chicken-less tikka masala and jackfruit vindaloo, it’s a haven for plant-based food lovers. Guests can enjoy their meals in a lively indoor setting or on a spacious outdoor patio, making it an ideal spot for both lunch and dinner.
What can I say about Sudra that hasn't already been said? The food is tremendous. We went twice in two days and can't stop talking about the food. We ordered brussel sprouts and tempeh fried rice, beet salad, eggplant chickpea chaat, cauliflower and broccoli pakoras and an apple, carrot with oats payasam with ginger ice cream for dessert. The flavors were familiar and innovative at the same time and the cocktail I ordered was a perfect match for the food. Just a lovely experience overall and I hope they come to WA state, so we can eat their food as much as possible!
R. P — Google review
Food dishes are quite innovative and fusion with an Indian touch to it. We ordered many different varieties of dishes and they were good. Upon request they even accommodated no potatoes onion garlic (Jain vegan) dish which turned out great. I ordered the noodles dish and the soy chunks added a good taste and texture to the entire food. Mango lasssi was the best ever I had in a really long time and of course it is vegan. The ambience is good, the location is 10/10 with pretty flowers outside on the street, there is a colorful water fountain where kids can play near this restaurant as well. Overall a great dining experience although it is a little expensive.
Yash D — Google review
The Sudra is a tasty spot for anyone looking for a unique meal. The food is delicious and doesn't feel like any sacrifices were made for the sake of making the meal vegan. The vegan chicken was pretty close to the real deal and the noodles and veggies were perfectly cooked and seasoned. My cocktail was excellently crafted and paired quite nicely with my lunch. The staff were helpful and pleasant and the location was clean and modern. Certainly a nice addition to the downtown Beaverton area and a really big win for any local vegans (and a win for the rest of us as well!).

This is innovative Indian food ( not a traditional Indian food that uses dairy in most of the dishes). We found later ( after arriving ) that it was vegan resturant . Very good combination of healthy options with salad . Good selection of appetizers. Tofu Paneer options was misleading ( it was Tofu only but cooked to replace Paneer for traditional Indian dish). Customer Service was friendly but working very thin on staff ( one person serving and another at bar) . Drink was served after appetizer and one main entry. Two dishes ( out of four) were served very late.

We tried altogether about 5 dishes along with dessert. This is probably one of the best vegan restaurants around here. The variety of tastes is a nice starting point for anyone wanting to explore vegan food.
Judith M — Google review
Oh wow! Was the food so well prepared, cooked, and presented. The dishes were so tasty. Smokey and flavorful rice with Tempe and julienned veggies had such great texture. Fried broccoli and cauliflower florets were perfectly cooked to be al dente and were paired with tangy coconut and sweet tamarind dipping sauces. Creamy "paneer" tofu and kale with a curry sauce over rice was a pleasant texture change. The flavors were bright and brought the heat! The last dish was a kale infused dosa thali, that had Lentil Tamarind Stew, Chickpea Masala, Ginger Agave Roasted Carrot Salad, Spicy Cucumber Salad, Green Chutney, Tomato Chutney, Coconut Yogurt and Potato Pea Curry. Each part of this dish was so good. Their staff was very attentive and provided excellent service!

We went to the Beaverton Sudra. I drank the Nanda Devi - what a great mix of chai, coconut milk, and other exotic flavors. The tofu paneer samosas were light and flaky with a savory filling. Loved the sauces that came with them. The thali plate came with kale salad, black eyed pea korma, and brown rice with lentil kofta curry. This is the best vegetarian thali I've had. Each item had a distinct flavor profile. Pic posted. Can't wait to go back!

What a terrific place to eat clean!! Very tasty vegan and GF bowls, GF sandwiches, smoothies and more. Veggies are fresh and not overcooked!! Super friendly and helpful staff and a small but chill atmosphere. I'll be back for more! My favorite bowl so far is The Buffalo Gal.

I'd love to give this place another try, as they have an extensive healthy menu. However, the day I ordered a smoothie bowl there, it came to me a little bit melted and not ice cold. The flavors and ingredients were all great, I just wish it was in a more freezing state when I got the food. Edit: I got it at the restaurant, which is why I am confused about why it was melted.

Just checked out the soft opening and the bowls are delicious! I got a brown rice base with delicata squash, broccoli, carrots, sweet potato, and beans with romesco sauce and crunchy rice on top. Each element is seasoned so the final product is super flavorful! I’ll definitely be back, this is a great addition to the neighborhood!

I ordered a salad for take out and it did not come with five of the ingredients on the menu and instead had raw red bell pepper. Also, when I showed up the price was 20% more expensive than what’s listed on their website. The food was fresh and dressing very good.

Awesome! This is the place if you work nearby. Weighed by the pound (they subtract the plate/container weight), they have an awesome selection of cold and hot food. I had samples of sushi, avocado salad, mango salad, chicken salad, and even BBQ meatballs and sausages! They are super nice and you should at least give it a try on your lunch break.
