1Reel M Inn

Bar
Reel M Inn is a cozy, fishing-themed spot that's famous for its crispy fried chicken and potato wedges. The beloved dive bar faced several challenges during the pandemic but has made a comeback, now offering bone-in chicken from Wednesday to Monday. Despite its small size and crowded atmosphere, this joint is known for its fantastic fried chicken and jojos. With a great beer selection featuring local favorites, it's the perfect place for a laid-back afternoon of day drinking.
Reel M Inn is one of those bars that you will read praise for on a Buzzfeed or Eater listicle, but then immediately forget exists. Which makes a lot of sense and is also invaluable to us regulars. Upon arrival however, this dive that gives "midlife crisis step-dad bar" during the day, opens into "eclectic Portland misfit haven" in the afternoon and evenings. The weathered exterior doesn't do the lively interior any justice. The fried chicken(and horseradish ranch) are house-made. With limited fryer space, food can take a while, but the taller pours and spontaneous fellowship with the local rabble helps to extend everyone's patience farther than one would assume. Pool is free. Condiments are free. Being kind to the bar staff and your fellow patrons is free. Reel M Inn can be pretty much what you make it. What you give, is what you get. There are few community oriented spaces left, let alone bars, in Portland so enter with a heart ready for a new chapter in your storybook and you'll have a great time.

Small dive bar with great chicken and jojos. The chicken and jojos was very affordable. Lots of chicken and tasty potato wedges. Offered plenty of sauces to go with. I choose buffalo, ranch, and honey mustard. Be warned it takes time. The bartender was the one making the chicken so be chill, grab a beer while you wait. Totally worth it.
Rolando O — Google review
This was my 2nd time at this bar and it was great. I went in on Halloween and it wasn't busy at first but it quickly got busy. I mainly went in for their fried chicken and mojos. The chicken did take a little while as expected, so as a tip, order it asap! It'll take at least 20 minutes before you get it. Grab a drink while you wait. The bartender was a workhorse and stayed on top of everything. The only downside was the mostly crappy music being played on the jukebox, which was the patrons' fault lol. This was my 2nd time and I'll definitely be back for a 3rd.
Joey B — Google review
probably the best bar in Portland but definitely the best fried chicken in portland. also drinks are cheap and you feel the place is part of the community rather than some private equity asset. 5 stars any day but show up expecting to wait an hour for your chicken. It’s part of the charm
Henry J — Google review
Believe the hype. Yeah the food takes a while. It's quality and is hands down the best chicken in town. Order a drink, makes some new friends, enjoy the vibe, and the hour wait wont seem so long. This bar will always have my heart 🖤
Donna P — Google review
Probably one of the best fried chicken meals you'll ever have in a dive bar in the U.S. It will take a really, really long time to get your fried bar food (they had one bartender working the bar and fryer when we went on a Saturday afternoon). The batter for the Jo-Jos and fried chicken are incredibly good. They are thick, crispy, with flaky layers--remeniscent of really good Korean fried chicken batter that is made for sauces. The dark meat chicken we got was super tender and juicy too. Fried pickles and onion rings seemed to have a lighter, tempura-veggie-like batter. If you live nearby, I think this would be a great spot for fried chicken. We're thinking about trying to make it our meet-up spot before Violet Hex / drag and queer movie nights at the Clinton Street theater. Ambiance is small dive bar-y. Bartender is overworked and super friendly. A few beers on tap, and some cans in the fridge. For those who care, the space might not be the most fat-friendly or accessible when it's crowded: the bathroom I used was tiny and not accessible, and there's some tables with stools or pull-out chairs.
Esther P — Google review
We love literally all the bartenders, and patrons, here. The chicken is best I’ve ever had and their service is classic Portland friendly style. Thanks, Reel M Inn for all you do!
Caitlin H — Google review
As authentic as it gets. Not a huge fan of the super thick potato slices, Lovingly called JoJo's, a whole potato sliced by eight rather than four feels like it'd be a little easier to handle. Chicken and sauces were top notch though as well as service and atmosphere. Classic spot you got to go!

Thai restaurant
Restaurant
Hat Yai is a cozy and rustic-chic counter service restaurant in Portland, offering authentic Southern Thai street food. The restaurant is named after a city near the Malaysian border and serves casual southern Thai dishes at its Killingsworth and Belmont locations. The menu features spicy rice salads, roti, and their famous southern Thai-style fried chicken. In addition to the delicious food, patrons can enjoy draft brews while dining outdoors.
Hat Yai was a fantastic lunch stop during our trip to Portland. We got the Hat Yai fried chicken with roti and curry, and it did not disappoint. The fried chicken was superb—crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor. The curry, though on the sweeter side, was rich and delicious, pairing perfectly with the roti. Overall, a great spot for some flavorful, comforting Thai food!
Shyam P — Google review
I’ve had Thai food in many different cities across the U.S., and overall, I think Thai cuisine tends to be one of the most consistent and satisfying Asian food options here. That said, this particular restaurant didn’t quite meet my expectations. I visited after seeing a glowing recommendation from a blogger, but I have to say — some influencer reviews might be a bit too generous. The flavors here were underwhelming, and not quite as impressive as advertised. I even saw two people filming content while I was dining, which made me wonder if the hype was a bit overblown. The oxtail soup was the biggest disappointment — I honestly couldn’t tell if I was drinking soup or straight vinegar. Their signature curry also let me down. It tasted heavily of Mae Ploy curry paste with canned coconut milk, and there weren’t any fresh ingredients like meat or vegetables. Just a few fried shallots on top. It felt like something made entirely from premade sauces. To be honest, I’ve made better curry at home with fresher ingredients. That said, the prices were quite reasonable, so if you’re just looking for a quick Thai meal that won’t break the bank, it’s not the worst choice. Also, one of the servers had great energy and a unique sense of style — definitely added a bit of charm to the experience.

Casual spot. Order inside and find a table. Enjoyed a nice evening outside and the food came reasonably soon. It had a good amount of heat in the vegetarian curry. A few fun drink options and beer and wine. Pretty good overall Thai food in a relaxed and casual setting.
Michael M — Google review
Hat Yai has very generous portions with a great selection. Their fried chicken is great. But they have many different sets that let you get different curries, rottis, and other signature dishes. For your first time definitely get the fried chicken entree set and add a wing. It will come with a curry, delicious fried chicken, and great pickled veggies. If you don't want fried chicken they have many other options too. The fried chicken is moist, crunchy, with a light and herby batter. It comes with a tangy dipping sauce. This fried chicken is not heavy at all. There is street parking in the area. Expect to pay $16~24 (not including drinks). You order at the front then they bring the food out.
Kellen M — Google review
Not the meal I was expecting but very good. We got the hay yai for two. Not sure what all the pickled vegetables were but all but the jalapenos were very tasty. The chicken was crispy with only a little bit of fried breading, they way they flavor the chicken here is more about the pre dredging soak then the frying. The curry was extremely delicious and without many of the off putting typical issues that curry can face. The roti is close to naan but a little oily. And the sticky rice was near perfect being sticky but not burnt. We also got a thai iced tea which hit the spot of not being too sweet or to bitter.
Alex D — Google review
I came here for lunch and ordered the Hat Yai Combo #1. This reminded me of Soul Food but the Thai version. The chicken was fried to perfection and the batter had some type of seasoning/herb that I couldn’t identify but elevated the experience. The curry was rich and flavorful, the roti was buttery and flaky. It was a decent sized portion that left me extremely full. I was shocked that the restaurant wasn’t super busy but appreciated the fact that I was able to get work done. This will be a spot I return to the next time I visit.
Brandon D — Google review
Loved the cozy homely feel. Loved the fried chicken set, the veggie curry set. The Hokkien noodles were to die for( we ended up repeating them), would even recommend the Muu hong if you love pork belly.
Mohana U — Google review
Honestly this place is seriously overrated. The food was really just okay - the brisket curry was a let down with the flavors underdeveloped and the Thai ground pork was just a salt bomb. The fried chicken had a nice crisp and I enjoyed the fried onions topping but the meat was bland. The worst part though was the ambience - blasting terrible music that’s designed to get people in and out. Such an overwhelming atmosphere with pretty underwhelming food. The people working there were kind though. Overall, we dont plan on going back.

Chicken restaurant
Basilisk, located in Northeast Portland, is a popular spot known for its mouthwatering fried chicken sandwiches and flavorful sides. The counter-service eatery offers towering chicken sandwiches with crispy thigh meat, house-made cabbage slaw, buttermilk dressing, and fresh pickles all nestled between a honey brioche bun. Visitors can also indulge in Dandan fries featuring perfectly fried potatoes topped with peanut sauce, pickles, lime, and cilantro.
Flavorful chicken thighs- very well seasoned! Dan Dan fries are among the best I have ever had- fresh flavors and fries stayed crunchy even in all the yummy peanut sauce!! Huge portions… well too big for a lady to finish! :-) requested hot sauce in the side, glad we did as it was pretty spicy.
Amme S — Google review
First time there. Will not be my last. Order the chicken sandwich with heat. So yummy! Secret cheat code...order another before you leave so you can have another one later! Seriously! Anyway. Thumbs up and also if your friends are not into chicken it part of a shared space.so you can get pizza, tight tacos, banh mi, etc. Go there and enjoy some food! Visited again and the spicy chicken still tastes great! They got new padded booths! So nice.
Jim H — Google review
Dan Dan fries were unique - never had anything like them before. I think if I were to order them again, I’d ask for the sauce on the side because by the end of the bowl I was itching for some plain fries. The chicken sandwich was okay. As much as I would’ve liked to have loved it, there was this weird flavor that I couldn’t really place… it was either the oil that they use or the spicy sauce itself. Maybe it was an off night and I might try again and edit this review!
M C — Google review
Wow, crazy chicken sandwich. I had like post chicken sandwich clarity though. I got the dan dan fries and I mean I love the concept and the fries were really crispy and great, it’s just the peanut sauce is pretty salty and heavy. Perhaps a lighter version of the sauce would make the fries 10x better.
Katherine L — Google review
$10 for just one chicken sandwich send expensive but this one is actually with it. It comes with two fried slabs of chicken, and stacks high. The slaw is nothing to note except for its usefulness in catching the dressing that they put on which is a little bit spicy but carries the right flavoring to make the sandwich delicious.
Alex D — Google review
Knock your socks off fried chicken sandwiches. Insanely huge with two pieces of chicken. Unless you have a huge mouth, you take one piece off and enjoy it for desert. ;-) Their "Nashville Hot" sauce is a nice cayenne-based sauce that has excellent flavor. I am originally from Nashville, so I can tell you, Basilisk is certainly better than quite a few Nashville Hot Chicken places. Definitely better coating and flavor than Hattie B's. Basilisk's chicken is a cut above by itself. I love Screen Door's fried chicken dinner, but, again, I think Basilisk has better coating and flavor. If they offered mashed potatoes and collard greens, I would move in and never leave. The macaroni salad is a bit bland, but good enough. You're here for the chicken, anyway. ;-) Overall, if you want an excellent fried chicken sandwich (Nashville Hot or not), Basilisk is the way to go in Portland.
BJ S — Google review
Food couldn't have been better - see pics - it's as good as it looks. We loved our beers. Get the fried chicken salad! Cosy, open, perfect summery vibe. Nice space.
Nick A — Google review
Fried chicken juicy and flavorful every time in all forms: sandwich, "salad", and the plate, which they do offer with no spice as a kid friendly option. My kiddo is into it. 👍🏼 I just love that all the other food spots that share the space have basically something for everyone. Plus beer, cocktails, and boba - whaaattt?!!?!

BAES Fried Chicken is a success story from Micah Camden, known for Boxer Ramen and SuperDeluxe. Despite previous setbacks, BAES excels with its bone-in birds served in traditional or hot styles. The spicy version is wrapped in a cloak of blood-red cayenne sewn with salt crystals, offering a tantalizing heat that makes you crave another bite despite the burn. This downtown joint also offers smoky and tingly flavors that make their fried chicken stand out.
I got the deluxe chicken sandwich, got Nashville style and it was great. Spicy, delicious, one of my favorite chicken sandwiches I've had in Portland. The sandwich was pretty big as well. I got a side of Mac n Cheese as well. The Mac n Cheese was a bit over salty for me, but it had a great pepper kick and I did enjoy it. The sides are pricey, so i only got one, but I would have liked to try others. I am looking forward to trying their other chicken styles in the future and other sides.
T F — Google review
After hearing about all the hype about this place having the best fried chicken in Portland I decided to take my mom while she is visiting me. We drove to the Alberta location just to find out that it is permanently closed. You need to mark that on Google maps that your permanently close so people aren't going thereto eat a a closed restaurant. It's really not that hard to let Google maps know that you're no longer at that location. Had to go to the one on Ash Street which is close to where I live already so it was a big waste of a drive. We ordered the whole chicken Traditional flavor, four sauces, four sides and two fountain sodas. First shocker each fountain soda was $4ea a little overpriced for the size that is equal to a can of Coke. Let's just say this is some of the worst fired chicken I've ever had. It is bland not much in the way of seasonings at all, super dry, and only slightly crispy. The flavor I got from the chicken was burnt flour. McDonald's chicken nuggets are better flavored. The sides are super small how can a family of four share a side thats only like one bite each out of a side (containers are 8 oz containers but not filled to the top only like 4-5 oz of side). The mashed potatoes were mediocre including the gravy. The corn was way overcooked and dried out looking with some weird taste to it. The waffle fries were soggy and soft and not crispy like they should be. The mac and cheese was horrible was like a buttery noodle with some cheap cheese whiz. Spending $70 on this meal is a ridiculous price for what is offered. I could have gotten too awesome ribeye steak dinners for that. Super disappointing I will never go back and I will never ever recommend this place to anyone unless you want the worst fried chicken and sides in the world.
J F — Google review
I ordered only the jumbo chicken strips. I got a really good chicken. It was so tender and juicy inside. The spices on the flour were on point tho! Even the pickles were good. It wasn’t that busy when I came. The portion was fair. But I must admit that it was kinda pricey for a chicken.
Giovani M — Google review
Really nice and clean atmosphere shared with Kinnamons cinnamon rolls also additional covered patio seating. Menu offered sandwiches, chicken pieces, wings, tenders, half bird to whole bird and array of seasoning options and dipping sauces. Peach bbq sauce is amazing!
Cindy C — Google review
Came here with my nrother hoping to just get a little bite to eat, and have solidified a hidden gem for us. Walked in to the place playing some bangers right off the bat, instead of the Benson Boone/Taylor Swift/Teddy Swims loop. Absolutely bomb flavors, and sauces that are so good, you can only assume they're house-made. I don't even like Honey Mustard, but U was fibgering the little sauce cup clean lmaooo. The amount of chicken seems like a sham, but you'll understand that it's plenty after you eat the whole thing and have a beer or two. Definitely give it a whirl if you're a foodie, or just wanting a little chill spot for you and a friend. (sorry for the filtered pics)
Boy-Oh-Girl — Google review
I’ve been here a few times and luckily avoided the situations described in the 1-star reviews. The chicken is mid, the waffle fries are decent, and the sauces are okay. Staff is always nice to me. But prepare to feel greasy and gross the rest of the day. So much grease. And a little overpriced I think. The vibe is nice in there and it’s spacious and decorated nicely.
Nick C — Google review
Black Portland I will make a detailed post for you. Please do not support them! I have been here many times and I have had an experience here by a colorless being. Please check it out you know where! If you ever have a problem here the customer service is terrible as expected by a ma le dominated place. I will add the man who smiled as I walked away with discomfort from this experience as a business owner myself I’m disappointed in the caliber of customer service, I guess I always got the correct order to not receive such emotional distress and pettiness from a cashier. FOR A TAKE OUT ORDER edit: I will not be responding to anything this business has to say because I reached out before coming back and their return time for responses is long through phone and social media.
Lynette Y — Google review
The food is good but the service sucks; sauces were not with my to-go order, neither was my dessert and the guy who handed me my order at the counter didn’t even say anything or offer a replacement - I found out once I got all the way home. Lame customer service, this place used to be so good. The food is cool but it was extra cold this time, doubt I’ll return and def won’t be ordering for pickup again. Do better Bae’s.

Kee's #Loaded Kitchen is a food cart in Portland known for its generous and indulgent plates. The owner, Kiauna Kee Nelson, learned to cook while high and has created a menu designed for eating, napping, and then eating again. The #Loaded plate features an array of dishes including brown sugar smoked ribs, fried chicken wings, mac n' cheese, and the highly praised fried catfish.
Google needs a 6 ⭐️ option for places that taste this good!!! We got to Kee's around 1:30pm and met a wonderfully helpful person working the window. She steered us in the absolute proper direction. We ordered the Loaded Plate which is believed to feed 2-4 people but that is a bit under estimated in my opinion, it will easily serve 4-6 people possibly more? The loaded Plate is $85 and comes with every protein Kee's is serving and one of every side. You can order extras of your favorites! I cannot remember the last time I ate a meal and every single item was fantastic? It reminded me of the perfect plate at Thanksgiving where all your favorite family cooks made their best dish and you over served your plate with a little of everything! That's what Kee's does and she does it very well. We literally can't wait to come back cause we travel to Portland often to eat some of our favorites and this place just moved right on up the list.... Literally at the top! This is comfort food at its best and when I tell you that Kee's is like some kind of Sorcerer of the fry oils, it's also an understatement! She is doing her thang outchea!!!

From the moment I walked up, I knew I made the right decision. The warm and welcoming staff helped me with their favorite choices. The ribs were sold out, so if you’re set on them get there when they open. As a chef I rarely get the chance to eat out. This was a treat and well worth the 1.5 hour drive. I got the combo catfish/chicken and when they advertise loaded they were not kidding. Not only are the portions large, so is the flavor. Be prepared to share. Also got the pleasure seeing the owner of truck working, and engaging with her customers. You can tell she loves what she does and cares about her customers.

I loved every moment of my experience. This was my first visit and it did not disappoint. The vibe from the moment I went up with my aunt to put our names on the list was warm and welcoming. We were welcomed like family. When we were called up to place our order I was a bit overwhelmed by everything offered but it was explained to me perfectly and I was able to order the perfect meal food myself. When I got home I was shocked by the amount of food. Definitely enough for 3-4 meals. I tried a little bit of everything and loved it all. I got the meatloaf dinner. I enjoy going to the PDX Street Food park. The atmosphere is definitely native Portland with the spaceship and alien decor. I enjoyed the food at the LOADED food truck. The portion size is shareable. The price is steep but worth for the the quality and presentation of food. If you wants good home cooked food take drive to Northeast Portland. You will not be disappointed.

Our group drove down from The south Puget Sound area (Washington), to check Kee's Loaded...out. After arriving, we immediately learned, this place is legit! We were met with a warm greeting and a smile from the employees working the counter. Of course I asked, "where's Kee?" I was told, she was "in the back cooking." Maannn, the catfish and porkchop was Everything!!! This was one of the best foodie experiences I've had in a long while. We will be returning. I recommend this establishment!!

Food was good. At first the menu price can be intimidating but then you receive your “plate” and realize why she charges so much! Enough food for at least 2 people! It’s definitely worth a try.

Large amount of amazing foodz. The smoked on the ribs was amazing. Got 3+ meals out of one dinner. They fry on the catfish and chicken was perfect. Mac'ncheese was great. All the sides were very delicious also.

Food was cooked well, but I did not get what I thought I was getting. 1 hour long line and 2 hour wait after ordering was outrageous. Warning: place ran out of food at around 2:30, an hour and a half after open. Servicewith a smile but my star rating is reflecting the wait. After watching a tiktok review I really wanted to try the pork chops, mac n cheese, and the ribs. The place was out of food at 3:30 so I left to try the next day. The next day after waiting in line for an hour I got the Loaded Everything Plate at $80 plus tip. After ordering, waited another 2 hours before my name was called. I opened my food at home to find no ribs, mac n cheese, or pork chops. I was very disappointed. It's probably my mistake assuming the everything plate would be the one I saw on Tiktok. Based on most plates being $55 and mine being $80, I thought for sure what I wanted was going to be included. So if you go, be prepared to wait and make sure you are ordering exactly what you want instead of assuming like I did.

Jojo is a popular food cart located in the Johns Marketplace food cart pod on Powell. It's known for its incredibly juicy and crispy smoked and fried chicken sandwiches, as well as its thick, golden-fried jojos. The menu also includes items like bacon ranch or spicy chicken sandwiches. The place tends to get busy, especially on weekends, with a wait time of around 45 minutes for a table.
It's been a while since I dined in here. We came for a quick meal and ordered the spicy cheeseburger, spicy loaded jojos, and popcorn chicken. I really like their spicy relish, which is simple, but just delightful to have on both the burger and jojos. The loaded jojos were cooked perfectly, with each jojo being crispy and full of flavor. The spicy cheeseburger is one of my favorite go-to when here. The popcorn chicken portion was generous and of decent size.

So, I'd like to give this place 5 stars, but the place is a lie. They are named jojo, say they have jojos, but it's a lie. They have the best fried baked potatoes I've had in a while, but they sure as heck aren't actual jojos. They aren't pressure fried. They're double cooked. That's not a jojo. Liars.

Food was amazing! The chicken melt was tender and juicy. Staff was friendly and happy to help. The Jojos were really crispy and the seasoning was great.

Finally made it to the restaurant! My friends and I fell in love with this place when we found it as the food cart. Took my mom for lunch today and we tried a few different items. She loved the Mr. Onion burger and I loved the chicken melt. We both thought the loaded jojos took the win for favorite item. I enjoyed a princess peach margarita and we sat outside at their picnic tables. Place was clean, fun and definitely a vibe. Every drink I saw looked delicious and they do an employee drink that was a cool touch. Ended lunch with a salted chocolate chip cookie that was pretty damn good. Put this place on your list!

We were in PDX for less than a week and went to Jojo twice because it was so good. The chicken was perfectly crispy on the chicken sandwiches, the jojos were crunchy but soft in the middle. Topping to meat ratio was spot on. We will DEFINITELY be back.

Really excellent sandwiches and jojos. The chicken is perfectly crispy and juicy, the BLT was stacked and had excellent textures. The spicy loaded JoJo's were enormous, and went very well with their ranch.

Love this place. Their spicy chicken sandwich is 🔥. Jojos are good definitely get a alot for the portion. Drinks are great here too. Need to keep going to try more items.

Extremely yummy side salad and burger. Paid for bacon on my cheeseburger, there was a generous amount of thick cut bacon added. I requested extra pickles since there wasn't an option to select for more, and they also gave me plenty of extra pickles. Always very happy when special requests are noticed and honored, in addition to my order being accurate. Their crunch salad is AMAZING! They include some kind of chive-y creamy dressing on the side which was truly incredible. I'm also a big fan of the crispy shallots. I haven't been this impressed by a salad in a while. 10/10 meal. Can't wait to visit in person.

FOMO Chicken is a popular spot offering Korean and classic Southern-style fried chicken. The menu is simple, with options like boneless thighs served over rice with coleslaw and pickled radish or whole, double-fried birds in sweet-soy garlic or spicy-sweet gochujang paste. The food cart features a bright red chicken head logo and picnic tables nearby for dining.
I've been going to FOMO Chicken since their 1st pop up. The Food has always been amazing. The owner and employees are all very friendly. The pod has many offerings but FOMO is hands down the best. Cool neighborhood too, lots of fun options!

Was in the mood for Korean fried chicken .. Drove to this food truck pod JUST for this place, had never been here before. 🤤 Got the southern box, 1lb half sweet/half spicy wings and the fried pickles. The wings were some of the biggest wings I've ever had. Gahhh it did Not disappoint!! All of it was Freaking delicious & the owners were super nice! will be back! Amazing everything!

Amazing place! I’ve never had such good chicken. Came by yesterday and got the southern box. Yummy and crispy! Usually I’m wary about my gums hurting from crispy food but it’s so easy to bite into the chicken and get all that flavor. Shout out to the servers too! So kind and friendly. Happily answered all my questions.

FOMO chicken has some of the best chicken I’ve had! I got the Korean Box that comes with Korean style chicken, rice and slaw and radish to cleanse your palate with each bite. So flavorful and so crunchy! I also got a side of fried pickles and it’s such a generous portion, I will be eating them all week! So delicious and overall the portions are super generous. Thank you for a great first experience! I’ll be back!

FOMO Chicken!! Had quite a few friends talk it up. They weren’t wrong. I love how simple the menu is - 3 or 4 main options with some sides. It’s great Korean / Southern bbq chicken. The boxes will more than fill you up. The 3 main options are spicy, sweet, and southern. The southern options has delicious peppery mashed potatoes and corn. I really liked both. All the boxes come with Cole slaw but we have refined taste so we said no slaw. I got the sweet chicken - it came with rice and picked stuff. The rice is good. The chicken is great. The marinade is so tasty. Looking for something new? FOMO !!! It’s nestled in a cozy food cart pod with beer and other stuff around. I really dig the vibe of the pod.

So my daughter was in charge of looking up a “fancy” dinner in Portland for her 21st! Well, we ended up here at Fomo Chicken. I’m not a fan of eating outside, but for my daughter, I’ll do mostly anything…I don’t regret it because the food was simply put…Deliciousness!! Homemade mashers, the fried chicken and honey mustard sauce. Man oh man. Follow up with my review of the crepe truck next door…

The food was delicious, but it took 45 minutes to be ready. It is a Friday, early evening, but considering the lack of line it was confusing why the wait was so long. It seems they can’t handle the extensive menu and might consider dropping some items that take longer to prepare. The server was bad mouthing a customer (gross behavior) who had asked a question in front of me when I returned to get forks as they weren’t provided. I wouldn’t recommend unless your on a date that you want to drag out and you arrive not quite hungry enough to eat dinner. Half of our party had finished their dinner before we received ours.

It is possible to create a symphony of joyous notices from one’s mouth while simultaneously devouring the most tantalizing chicken wings in Portland. FOMO Chicken is absolutely exquisite. The wings are perfectly sized and full of delicious meat. One 1lb order was the perfect portion for me and my date along with a side of rice. Lest I forget the tantalizing pickled radishes and the light and tangy coleslaw sides. The staff is delightful, which makes this a must visit in Portland. There is a beer cart in the same lot for the perfect meal.

Laurelhurst Market is a unique combination of a butcher shop and steakhouse, offering an array of unusual cuts, house-cured meats, and craft drinks in an industrial setting. The restaurant features a lovely dining room as well as a spacious covered deck that was once a parking lot. The deck provides an ideal spot for indulging in lunchtime roast beef sandwiches or evening steak frites under twinkly lights.
Reserved a table a few days ahead and was seated immediately in a prime spot upon walking in. Lovely service, the servers know exactly what they are doing. Cocktails are STRONG but delicious. The food was cooked to perfection, definitely recommend getting the mac n cheese to share with the table.

We very much enjoyed our lunch here. We ordered a salad and a sandwich and split both. It was a good thing we were hungry, because we probably could have just split one of them and had plenty of food. If you are looking for plain, bland food, this is not your place. There was lots of fun and tasty food combinations just in the two meals we ordered. The only minor issue we had was with our sandwich: we asked for the mayonnaise to be put on the side of the sandwich. They left the mayo off the sandwich, but forgot to put it on the side. I went back and ask for it on the side, which they readily and quickly accommodated. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating here. We sat in a large tent covered, deck area that was a nice combination of being out of the sun, but not being inside. I would definitely come back here for lunch. Thanks for the tasty meal!

This place was amazing. We all had the hanger steak and they all were cooked as we ordered. Flavor profile for the steak itself was delicious. The tahini flavor paired well with the steak. Sides were amazing and to compliment, the drinks were refreshing. Specifically the old fashioned and veridis quo. Will be coming back for reservations next week.

This steakhouse has some incredible meat! The beef tartar was some of the best I've had. Crispy calamari was cooked perfectly; not chewy, breading not overpowering. I went with a New York, friend went with the ribeye. My new York came cooked to perfection (medium rare) and was incredible. My friends ribeye was amazing too. It had a silky buttery flavor behind it that was something special. Our server was exceptional and I feel bad for not remembering her name to put in this review. Never asked how food was when our mouths were full. Perfect balance of service and leaving us to enjoy the meal. I will be back and cant wait to try more off their menu.

We went for a business anniversary dinner. We ordered many things and shared, including the $155 ribeye. Many of the dishes were amazing, the 32oz ribeye, unfortunately was good, not great. The salads were delicious, and the desserts were also really good. The service was decent, just a little bit lagging here and there but decent. The only disappointment was the steak, and it wasn’t bad, just didn’t “wow” me. Will definitely go back again.

Awesome dinner spot! Had the shishito peppers, steak frites, and the house made ice cream. The sweet corn ice cream was a little too corny for me, but every other dish was executed wonderfully. I’d recommend the razzmatazz cocktail for a refreshing drink!

I had a party of 7 and we had to wait about ten minutes past our reservation time to be seated and they were so apologetic they gave us a platter of complimentary deviled eggs which were possibly the best I’ve ever had in my life. It all got better from there. They even have a kids menu!

Fantastic experience at Laurelhurst Market! Sat out on the covered patio for date night. Loved the mezcal cocktail and ordered the deviled eggs, Caesar salad, porterhouse special and grilled zucchini. All the food was incredible - the steak came with chimichurri, creamy horseradish and a red wine reduction sauce. 10/10 recommend and can’t wait to come back!

Boke Bowl is a popular Japanese-inspired eatery located in an industrial space, offering a unique take on traditional ramen. Established as a monthly pop-up, it has evolved into a permanent fixture in Portland's dining scene.
We absolutely loved our experience at Boke Bowl! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming, a perfect blend of modern, casual dining with a strong community vibe. The menu offers a creative fusion of East and West, and you can tell a lot of thought went into both the flavors and the presentation. We ordered the fried chicken bowl and the tuna poke bowl, and both were outstanding. The use of fresh, seasonal vegetables really stood out and added an extra layer of flavor and texture to the dishes. The fried chicken was perfectly crispy and flavorful, and the tuna poke was fresh and beautifully balanced. We highly recommend adding a side of their pickled veggies, they were tangy, vibrant, and paired perfectly with both bowls. One detail that really impressed us as parents: they provide small water cups for kids along with the silverware. It may seem minor, but thoughtful touches like that make families feel welcome and included. The pricing is very reasonable considering the quality and creativity of the food. The staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care about our experience. Overall, Boke Bowl offers something truly special—delicious, thoughtfully prepared food in a relaxed and inclusive setting. We’ll definitely be back and encourage anyone in the area to give it a try!

Crazy good. Crazy cheap. Makes me proud to live in PDX. This place is a perfect example of Portland taking food to the next level. I was just down in San Francisco and paid $70 for a bowl that I would argue tastes worse than heavenly bliss they serve here. Brussels sprouts. Not a #1 on my list. But this place somehow made them my favorite part of the dish. I leave this place feeling like I took some supplements. You know that feeling when your body tells you all the vitals are in check. Yup this place does that. Arguably the best soup, dumplings, and somehow fried chicken spot on PDX. You need to go here, it's not a matter of if, but when. Plan it, do it. You won't be disappointed. In fact you'll be back for more with friends.

Fried chicken rice bowl contains chicken, vegetables, cucumbers, kimchi, etc., as well as rice. It is much bigger than the picture, so it is enough to fill you up. It tastes even better when you add the spicy sauce on the table. The menu does not include 3% CAT, and the actual price is calculated with it.

I started off my Saturday with a great meal with a good friend. We had a reservation for a distillery tour and we wanted to make sure we had a good base for the day ahead. Overall our experience was great. The staff was really nice and the food came out quickly. The ramen was pretty good, I’d say maybe a 7. The Fried Chx Rice bowl definitely hit the spot as well as the buns.

I really like this food, from the moment I walked in to when I waited for my food the ambiance was very welcoming. Very open, the menu on the wall is also big and easy to read. I opted for the pork rice bowl, definitely surprised at the balance of ingredients. It didn’t seem like a lot, but the serving size is very accommodating. The team smiled and welcomed every person. It did get busy after receiving the food. The hibiscus mango tea was great. Can’t wait to visit again.

We have only ordered the food for delivery. That said, the first time we ate from here our taste buds were treated with what seemed like a new flavor with every bite. I was even more pleased to be able to enjoy breaded chicken that not only was GF, it was actually good. The next time we ordered, all was still delicious. By the third and fourth time, I am unsure if the food has changed or we are getting used to it. However, Boke bowl is still one of our top 5 default places to order from if we don’t want to go out or cook.

The People's Pig is a laid-back BBQ spot known for its delicious smoked meat sandwiches and classic sides, along with a selection of beer and cocktails. Situated in the Williams/Vancouver neighborhood, it offers a blend of modern apartments and boutique retail spaces. The happy hour from 3-6 PM on weekdays features $3 whiskeys and $4 plates of BBQ, making it a must-visit.
This place is super legit... I got the smoked deep fried chicken sandwich which was excellent. My girlfriend got the brisket sandwich which I ended up waking up a few times in the middle of the night wishing I got that sandwich... Next time for sure!!! For sides we had some super cheesy mac and cheese and potato salad, both were excellent. Their draft beer was phenomenal, I had the Amber..
Ray D — Google review
So-so. I love the fact that they smoke their fried chicken before frying it but they use thigh meat instead of breast meat and ruins a great opportunity at something that could be really great. It also didn't help the flavor profile that everything seemed to be seasoned in the same exact spices. If you have an adventurous palate this isn't the place for you. The lamb was acceptable and the beef brisket tasted quality. They also have "fresh" lemonade that comes in a tiny glass filled with ice that can only be refilled once. It was pretty cold in there as well. The cook and the employee at the register were both polite and the Mac & cheese was better that I was expecting being that it was stovetop, that's why I'm giving it a 3.

Cool neighborhood bar-b-que place. We tried the smoked lamb, smoked pork shoulder and brisket. All of the meats were very tasty. The sides: potato salad, maccaroni salad and corn bread and pork rinds were good. Nice draft beers to wash it all down with. We were there for happy hour, so we got our plates for $6 and the beers for $3! It's an order at the counter and bus your own table kind of place, with a cool atmosphere.

By far one of the best BBQ joints in Portland! My husband votes for it to be #1! I can see why it one of the nation's best Smoked Fried Chicken sandwiches. The chicken is juicy and incredibly tasty! Best BBQ I've had in a looooooong time, and that includes stops in Texas. The smoked fried chicken took me to a different planet. Brisket was fantastic as well. The plates here are BIG, so come hungry!

The smoked fried chicken was definitely the highlight! Brisket was on the dry side, and the barbeque sauce was... different (vinegary and heavily spiced with cumin, I think?). But the cornbread was good and came drizzled with honey, and the pepper jelly was pretty great. Service was quick and friendly, cocktail was well-made, and I can't say enough good things about that chicken!

Screen Door Pearl District is a well-lit and stylish destination offering meals, beer, and cocktails with outdoor seating. Visitors have raved about the amazing Southern food, including appetizers like deviled eggs and comeback shrimp.
Went with a group of 8 during a busy Saturday brunch. The waitstaff was patient while everyone arrived. Food-wise everything was great. I had the chicken and biscuits and it was perfect. Juicy on the inside and crunchy on the outside even when smothered in sausage gravy. Forgot to get a pic of that because I was too excited to try it. Everyone at the table enjoyed their food as well!

Southern style brunch spot with diner style decor and some incredible menu items. The chicken and waffles is absolutely SUPERB, with the waffles made with sweet potato and cinnamon, and are perfectly crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Beyond the waffles, the chicken was fantastic, and the pecan bacon an excellent addition to an order which had their signature Bloody Mary too. The lineups on the weekend are well worth the wait! If you're in town, check it out and I promise you won't be disappointed.

Came back here while visiting Portland and it was just as good as I remembered! The chicken and waffles were amazing. The portion of chicken was huge, so one piece was more than enough (I wouldn’t recommend two unless you’re really hungry). The place was packed on a weekend morning around 11am, but we got seats at the bar within 15 minutes which worked out perfectly. Busy, lively spot.

The food here was seriously so good! 🤤 We had a group of 7 and between all of us we tried the hushpuppies, fried Okra, fried oysters, rib platter, gumbo, fried chicken dinner, red beans and rice dinner, catfish, sweet potato fries, chicken strips and Kids cheeseburger. It was all so, so good! The portions were really large. We ended up taking a lot home. The children's cheeseburger was surprisingly large (for a kids burger) My 6 year old couldn't eat it all. Our server was so friendly and helpful. I wish I remembered his name so I could give him a shout out. He genuinely seemed to have pride in his job. 💜 Important to note: They only have outdoor seating available for larger groups, but there is a roof and outdoor heaters. We kept our jackets on, and in late October, fairly late in the evening, we had a really enjoyable experience. It was a great way to celebrate our son's 19th Birthday. 💜 We had reservations, but we probably didn't need them. We were the only group sitting outside. It really had a private, home cooked family dinner type of vibe. 🙂 Without all the work. 😉

I absolutely LOVED Screen Door! It was delicious & worth the wait. We went on a Sunday for brunch and the food, service, and ambience was perfect for a date with my mom. The grits…. To die for! And the cinnamon rolls are also a must! They were perfectly made- the bite melts in your mouth. My mom ordered the Chicken & Waffles and I got the Chicken & Biscuits. Both equally tasty! We parked in the public parking garage at Whole Foods, it was super convenient since they are across the street from each other.

Chicken restaurant
Big's Chicken is a down-home eatery that serves up Alabama-style fried chicken in a unique and vibrant setting, complete with outdoor dining. After facing a setback due to a fire, the restaurant made a triumphant return to its original Northeast Portland location, as well as expanding to Beaverton. The menu features not only their signature smoked and grilled chicken but also includes additions like cheeseburgers and simple fried chicken, all enhanced by Big's tangy Alabama-style white sauce.
The thing that stuck out the most at this establishment was the decor, the seasoning, presentation, and crunch of the food. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich a la carte, which is nice because I’m not big on jo-jo fries. The Sammie had a great crunch to it and it tasted amazing with the white gold and Fresno sauce on it. I like that they don’t drench the friend chicken in it and turn it soggy. It allows the chicken to be crunchy then with the pickles it’s on it makes it more crunchy. The potato bun was soft and pair great with everything. Instead of fries I got a 6 piece of their wings and they did not disappoint. They smoke, then fry them and cover them in dry spice. They’re crunchy and taste very flavorful. I wish I would gotten 12. It wasn’t enough food that I went and ordered some of the fried Mac n cheese bites. Once again crunchy they blended nicely with the zesty ranch and Fresno sauce, Cheesy as well and they brought at the perfect temp not overly hot. My girl friend ordered the PDX Hot Chicken sammie. HEADS UP the heat will catch up as you eat the sandwich. It’s not super hot, I give it a 6 out of 10, with a 10 being super hot. The zesty ranch and maple sarat gat sauce pair perfectly with the chicken thigh and remains, you guessed it, crunchy. Then you put it in between two slices of Texas toast and you get a great tasting sammie that’ll get you breathing and sweating a little. The price is fair and I don’t think too expensive. The vibe of the restaurant is fantastic and the decor is cool. The customer service was great too, which is better than most places these days. Bigs is easy to find and Parking is easy as well.

One of my very favorite places to go in Portland, and it has been for a long time. I'm always there on a Monday, and the guys working there are really the best... both in the kitchen and the front of the house guy, always the very best, and not just to me and my daughter but to everyone who walks through the door. It speaks for a restaurant when the same guys are working for years. Every time I eat there, it feels like it was the best time. I'm always getting wings but everything there is good, jojos, sandwiches, sides, sauces, etc. The staple sauces that come with regular order wings are unbeatable, a tangy hot sauce and a creamy Alabama white. I take my dad, I take my kids, I take anybody because it's just an excuse for me to go myself. This Glisan location is really awesome. Props to the crew and the owners too

Really good, insanely fast, the fresh cucumber pickles were a great little side for the wings. Currently eating "keto-ish" the fried dry rub wings seemed safe enough. Really great. Good as a wing gets. Not cheap but not expensive either. Getting something to eat while my wife has surgery across the street. She was starving and will be upset when she finds out. Lucky and glad I found this place today. Not able to visit the one on Beaverton before it closed, I had the opportunity today as my charge was over at the hospital and I had time to kill. Simply ordered JoJo's and a beer, but what caught me the most was how my server picked up on my heightened anxiety and worked into it quite properly to make me feel at ease and calm. Being able to set and relax was a relief. The JoJo's were a nice bonus as their outer crust was perfectly crunchy and super duper soft and mashed potato mushy on the inside. Not normally a seasoning on fires person, they, did it right. And the gold sauce? Am for two. I don't care if it's just Sysco food, Big's Chicken did those JoJo's right with their seasonings and temperatures. I will certainly be back for the rest of the chicken menu. Again, I cannot thank my server enough and I am bummed I was too twitterpatted and neglected to get her name. She was wonderful and helped to make my day all the more manageable. She, is what we need more of in this world, and those JoJo's slcertainly don't hurt. 💖😉

Our first time here and we’re impressed. The chicken and jojo’s was really good and we left the restaurant/bar with a full and happy tummy.

I got the veggie bowl with a fried egg. The broccoli was cooked and seasoned perfectly, better than I've ever had. The dish was quite spicy but not overwhelmingly so. Service was extremely friendly! The atmosphere is very chill and retro. Vintage newsprint from the 70s, with little comments written in cursive by people of the time, are displayed on the bar counter and complemented by good music from the 70s. The music wasn't loud and the restaurant was very peaceful. A great place to relax for lunch. Quite a lot of vegetarian options even though it's a chicken restaurant.

The Woodsman Tavern offers a rustic and cavernous space serving Northwest small plates, platters, and inventive cocktails. The seafood bar showcases the freshest West Coast oysters and crabs, while the meats undergo a rigorous screening process to ensure quality. The Tuesday special features buttermilk-sopped fried chicken that is fried hard in lard, herb-salted, and drizzled with honey.
What is not to love?! The service was on point, even being his second day. I had a Vodka Sour which I rarely order since it's hard to find a bar stocked with egg whites, yet they executed perfectly. Everything we ate was delicious. Hush puppies, butter board, cured steelhead, oysters, and onion dip..I'm drooling just thinking about it all. Simple food using great ingredients done just right. Whoever did the interior design absolutely nailed it, love the woodsman vibe, even the bathroom candles were thought about. I'm happy to see this place return after a couple year closure.

Overall we had fun, but not the quality of the Woodsman from the past. Service was nice, and the ambiance is great but the food was underwhelming and overpriced. The bad stuff. I'm not an expert on food costs but will explain why on the food. The seafood tower was really good, but $150, I don't know, seems a bit steep for what you actually get. Again could be priced right, but not sure. But the food on the tower was amazing. The steak was the most disappointing item we ordered and the most expensive at $60. I would advise anyone from ordering it. The cut and cook is equivalent to something you would get at Applebee's, harsh but honest. That's literally what it reminded me of. Dry and thin, just felt like a cheap cut of meat. Also, the onion rings with it were super dried out, didn't even eat, and the spinach was bland at most. The dips are amazing, but the chips to dip with, are disappointing. You'd expect a place like the Woodsman, with its respected ownership group, to make something themselves. You just get some Trisquits and Ritz crackers which I felt was a bit weak and uninventive. The good stuff - just get the burger. My friend said it was really good and it looked really good. Overall, I think they can improve and hope so because it is a cool spot.

Last time I had been was precovid. Disappointed this time around. Perhaps lots of changes in the kitchen. Service was at best mediocre by Diana. Appetizers were better than the entrees. The hostess and other servers seemed fantastic and attentive.

Slow and casual for happy hour on a Wednesday around 4:30. A good time to try some of their drafts, at $3 for an 8oz pour. I enjoyed sampling the hibiscus sour and a half dozen oysters on the half shell ($16 for HH). Due to an error or miscommunication, I was served a bonus house-style egg salad sandwich as well. 20% automatic gratuity is included in the bill, which I don't think encourages outstanding customer service.

Everything is always insanely delicious. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Portland. I don't know what else there is to say! Check out these brunch pics...
Lorissa P — Google review
The deviled egg with smoked trout, pickled serrano and Aleppo pepper was a great starter. The pickled peppers were the perfect bright foil to the rich egg filling. The chicharrones with barbecue spice and grilled lime were a great snack to accompany a pre-meal beverage - crunchy, spicy, and still crackling. Both starters reflected a unique house approach to remix classic fare. The surf & turf gumbo with andouille sausage, duck confit, oysters, shrimp, and okra was a great recommendation from the bar manager, Ashley. The chef's Mississippi heritage was well-reflected in this Gulf Coast staple.
Nathan M — Google review
Been there twice for brunch, and both times the food was excellent. However, the only fresh vegetable they had available was iceberg lettuce, so when one of our party had medically induced limited palate, all they could provide was lettuce and vinaigrette So don't go if youre thinking "maybe I'll just have a salad."

Alberta Market is a convenient stop for everyday essentials, snacks, beer, wine, and fast food. It's known for its classic fried chicken wings and jojos that are simple yet satisfying. The wings are breaded with a hint of spice and salt, offering a crispy texture and flavorful taste. Customers can grab these no-nonsense wings at an affordable price. Many visitors praise the market for providing a taste reminiscent of East Coast chicken takeout or Korean carry-outs in the DMV area.
Excellent chicken & great hospitality. Always left wondering why I don’t stop in more often. No way you can find better quality at this price. Pro tip- the ranch is kind of bland, but if you top it off with the hot sauce it hits perfectly. Thank you so much

Went to Alberta Market after hearing the hype about it on Facebook. The staff were friendly and provided fast service. The chicken looked cooked well and it smelled good. The chicken tastes as good as it looks. I found it to be a bit pricey at $25 for $15 wings, but well worth it as you get the whole wing. I’ll definitely visit again.

Wings are good as hell! Worth the 45min walk to & from lol It’s a regular corner store but also sells chicken. No legs or thighs were available when I went today so idk if they only sell wings or if they just ran out of legs/thighs this particular day. I will be back tho! The ladies working there are very sweet too 💜

Korean restaurant
FRYBABY is a food cart that combines Southern soul food with Korean influences, offering dishes like gochujang spicy chicken wings and kimchi mac and cheese. Customers praise the large portions of double-fried chicken, particularly the massive drumsticks that are juicy and perfectly seasoned. The snow cheese fried chicken is noted for its sweet parmesan coating, although some find it a bit too heavy.
If you’re on the hunt for the best fried chicken in town, Frybaby is the food truck you need to visit. Specializing in crispy, flavorful wings and sandwiches, this spot delivers top-tier comfort food that’s both creative and deeply satisfying. The first bite into their wings tells you everything you need to know—perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and coated in bold, well-balanced flavors. The Korean-inspired spicy wings, sprinkled with black and white sesame seeds, have just the right amount of heat and sweetness, making them completely addictive. If spice isn’t your thing, their parmesan-coated wings bring a savory, umami-packed punch with a light, cheesy crunch. The fried chicken sandwich is equally impressive. The golden, crispy chicken pairs beautifully with the toasted bun and fresh greens, making every bite a mix of crunch, creaminess, and a hint of spice. Beyond the food, Frybaby stands out for its attention to detail, high-quality ingredients, and a menu that feels both nostalgic and innovative. Whether you’re a wing connoisseur or just someone who appreciates seriously good fried chicken, this is a must-try spot. Highly recommended!

I haven't been in person just yet, but have ordered from this place many times. Delicious gluten-free fried chicken every single time! Although I can't seem to find any info on if the other things are gf as well. Mac n cheese? Gravy? The sando? Would love to know.

I got a recommendation from a friend so I had high hopes going in and I was not disappointed! The chicken was delicious and probably the crispiest chicken I've ever had! 🤤 Everything we ordered was amazing, flavorful, and gorgeous and I can't wait to go back but unfortunately I live a little bit away. 😭

Food genius. I was expecting plastic ware in my rolled up napkin. What a great idea to provide gloves. But, the only drawback is not getting to lick your fingers. The sauce was flavorful without being overbearing. Fries were good. Pickled jicama was a nice palate cleanser. For 3 people we had the soy/ginger tenders, a chicken sammich, the sweet (i cant remember the name) sauced tenders, and the mashed taters with curry gravy. Portions were large enough to share. Food was hot, cooked to order. Reasonably priced. 5 stars, for sure.
M C — Google review
Their chicken has the perfect amount of breading to chicken ratio & they're big! The meat is so juicy and they give you gloves to eat them. The kimchi mac and cheese is balanced with a small hint of spice so everyone can enjoy! If you've never had kimchi before you may not like it, but if you're feeling adventurous it tastes creamy, cheesy, spicy and a little sour.. the noodles are also cooked to al dente (the superior noodle texture). The plum drink could use a bit more plum extract or syrup in my opinion, I didnt taste much of the plum but it was refreshing for what it was.
Linda M — Google review
Overall this is a solid food cart, I actually think my favorite thing I tried was their Kimchi Mac and Cheese. The kimchi and cheese flavors were very strong, and the mac and cheese was very creamy. We tried two chicken flavors, the snow cheese wings and Gochujang tenders. The snow cheese flavor was my favorite (the outside texture has good flavor but the chicken inside isn’t seasoned super well) The gochujang sauce was a bit too sweet for me and lacked much spice Service is fast, and there’s good seating in the food cart park
Matthew C — Google review
Let me start with what we ordered. We ordered 2 bags. The first was 3 Soy Garlic wings (SGW) and Garlic Butter Rice. The second was 3 Snow Cheese wings (SCW) and Korean Curry Gravy and Mashed Potatoes. The young lady that waited on us was great! She was able to make recommendations, answer questions, and describe the food. This is important when you are eating somewhere for the 1st time. Because of that, we went outside the box and ordered the SCW. These were oddly delicious and easily the best part of the meal. They don't really have a cheesy taste, but have a savory 1st bite that changes to some faintly sweet backnotes. It's almost like a sticky wing. Crispy, hot, and worth going back for. The SGW was a disappointment. There is a Korean fried chicken chain that has SGWs, and that is the taste I've come to expect. It was a weaker taste and didn't have the crisp of the SCWs. Maybe the sauce was too heavy or sat on the wing too long? I'm only guessing. My brother loved the rice. I thoroughly enjoyed the potatoes, while there was gravy on them. The potatoes were real mashed potatoes. I would have happily given up som3 potato room for more of that gravy. We had some fries from another food truck and used them as scoops because the gravy was a star in its own right. I washed it all down with a Korean Plum soda that was refreshing and hit the spot. Overall, if I come back to Portland, I would come here again for the SCW and that gravy.

Perfect afternoon lunch spot. Put in your order and head over to Fracture for a draft to enjoy in the sunshine while you wait. Delectable spicy chicken sandwiches and massive, juicy chicken drumsticks. Kimchi mac is a must! The Country Cat, located in Portland, is a family-friendly eatery that offers a variety of American vernacular dishes. Chef Adam Sappington, a Missouri native, is known for his expertise in meat and traditional American cooking. The restaurant serves three meals a day with dishes like fried chicken, whole hog plate, and custom-made burgers on fresh-baked onion buns.
Food was good, priced a little high but that kinda how it works at the airport. I had the aptly named "The country cat" did a great job making my sunny side up eggs, The home fries were yummy and the homeade sausage patty was pretty delicious. Also got the puff half caf cold brew coffee which was very yummy and not very bitter which is good cuz it did not need much sweetener. The only gripe I can say is they didn't have decaf. But that's not a deal breaker.

I walked up to the counter to order and once I got my food, I walked into the dining area to sit down and eat, and the owner kicked me out telling me that this is for dine only and there’s a sign. There was no sign and zero customers sitting down I tried to ask her a question and she turned around and just walked in the back and ignored me.

Lovely restaurant with a concise but varied menu of absolutely delicious food. The fried chicken sandwich was my favorite and I was pleased to find that it was a fried chicken thigh instead of the usual chicken breast. Moist and delicious and perfectly fried. My wife really enjoyed her chicken salad sandwich that had capers which was a unique salty twist that worked so well! Thanks for a great experience!

My flight was delayed, so United gave me two food vouchers for my inconvenience. I chose the country cat because they have vegan option. I placed my order proceeded to the register to pay with my voucher and Ashely very rudely tells we normally want to know if you are paying with a voucher, I was taken back by the tone of her voice. The food was delicious Customer service sucked.

My wife and I stopped here while waiting for a delayed flight, and we were honestly in a pretty bad mood. Katrina completely turned our experience around. She was warm, attentive, and genuinely kind, which made all the difference. On top of that, we had the best martini we’ve ever had!! absolutely outstanding. Instead of feeling stressed and frustrated, we left feeling cared for and in much better spirits. Excellent service and a perfect drink can really change your day, and Katrina delivered both.

I guess if you’re not Anglo/White you’re not treated the same. It bothered the waitress that we even decided to take a seat. She was rude and rolled her eyes at us as we placed ordered the food was awful. I had to go to the take out order before she noticed me wanting to leave. All the other customers were seated and greeted with laughter and a smile. It was awful.

The description says “Farm to Table”. Not exactly. Most of the menu is prepared offsite so no personalization possible. The tomato soup had the consistency of spaghetti sauce and was inedible. The grilled cheese sandwich was made with inferior bread and was barely edible. The turkey club sandwich had a goat cheese spread on it which was out of place and not enticing. It’s not really a restaurant—it’s a counter and a case with seating open to the ticketing area of the airport. The service was excellent—really excellent table service from 2 employees.

Great Job Reverend’s!!! I’m a foodie & I expect my food warm from the source and fresh. I lived close by, but the food was warm and tasty. I called to follow up with the order to what I expected. Fatty brisket and fresh ribs & meat. Reverends delivered ❤️ that! I’m a happy customer!

Hit "The Rev's" for lunch on 7/26/2025 with three friends. Solid BBQ. I had the Sliced Beef Brisket Plate which our server upgraded from the "lunch" to the "dinner" because I wanted an additional side dish (that's the difference). The brisket was very good and NOT overcooked. Had a good smoke ring and was juice with just the right amount of fat. The BBQ beans are what I like and were good. Thankfully they don't add jalapenos to everything like some BBQ places (stop that Podnahs!). The Cole Slaw was about average. A failure in my book is that they don't offer traditional corn bread with butter and honey. I consider that a BBQ must. But, they do have Griddled Polenta with Creamed Corn & Tasso Ham. This was new and different and very good. It doesn't pack heat (I can't do that) and was a bit like corn bread. The Banana Pudding for desert is excellent. I had to ask for pickles which is no big - they had them. They should serve a slice of bread with their Brisket plate. I'm on the West side so it's a long travel to Selwood. But, I would do it again. This might be second only to Matt's BBQ. All four in our party either cleaned their plates or took home boxes and all enjoyed the food.

Met up with old friends here and really enjoyed our meal. We got for happy hour and enjoyed a good deal on individual ribs (versus a half rack). Fall off the bone tender St Louis style with a nice mop sauce. Other entrees included a fried chicken sandwich and a brisket sandwich. Only heard good things about those sandwiches. Ended the meal with key lime pie and banana pudding served in mason jars. Staff friendly and personable and the high backed booth made it easy to catch up with friends. Definitely recommend.

Third time ordering ribs and brisket; awesome every time; did a taste test with two other places that are highly rated and it was close, but The Reverend BBQ won; meaty ribs (and 1/2 rack is a FULL 7 ribs) and very tender juicy brisket) so, I HIGHLY recommend

Pine State Biscuits | Division is a popular casual eatery in Portland that has been serving up delicious biscuits and gravy, biscuit sandwiches, and buttermilk breaded chicken for over a decade. The spot first gained fame with its legendary Reggie sandwich, filled with chicken, bacon, cheddar, and sausage gravy. Locals love the Hash Ups - thin shredded potato cakes topped with caramelized onions, mushrooms, melted cheese, and a choice of meat like country ham.
The biscuits are scrumptious as always. Wonderful atmosphere, nice staff, fun music, and a patio! It was pretty busy when we got there, but the line moved fast. We got both types of gravy and they were both great 👍 And the biscuit beignets are the perfect sweet treat: warm, crunchy exterior, soft interior.

A wonderful breakfast joint. The biscuits are big; crisp on the outside & tender on the inside....and taste sooo good! This was the best biscuit I've eaten...better than home-made. You got a choice of mushroom gravy or sausage gravy, I had the sausage. The best I've ever tasted. It was seasoned perfectly.
Naomi L — Google review
Rich and tasty food in a pleasant outdoor atmosphere. Friendly service. I had the Reggie with mushroom, gravy and cheese on the side. I find the cheese doesn't add much to the flavor, and it's pretty bland, 3/5. Biscuit: 4/5. Buttery and medium density. Pretty darn good. Bacon: 5/5. Meaty and delicious. Mushroom gravy: 4/5. Pairs well with the other things. Fried chicken: 3/5. Good, but not great. It's certainly a nice hunk of chicken breast and the breading is relatively light. However, it basically just tastes like a normal grilled chicken breast. If I'm going to spring for the calories for fried, I wanted to taste fried goodness! I think part of what it's missing: the breading doesn't seem very crispy.
Keilan F — Google review
As a person who only loves her own biscuits and gravy I very much appreciate that I can get a really good version when I go to Portland. The biscuits were amazing. They were fluffy and buttery and perfect - everything a good biscuit should be. Look, the sausage gravy will never be what I want it to be but this one...this one is close. I love that it's pepper forward and has a nice spice to it. Service was fine - atmosphere was fine. I only gave it 4 stars because you have to bus your own tables and what not. But, I get it.

I arrived about an hour and a half before closing and they were out of a few items like brisket, chicken fried steak and something else. Never the less I settled for the deluxe and I was pleased with it. I dabbed some hot sauce on it and that was all she wrote. My friends cleaned their plates too and that was that. Nothing left to take with us, that speaks volumes. I had a ginger beer and a mule to boot. Good atmosphere, cozy location.

Love this place. I first stopped at this location about 12 years ago. Heard about it and the three brothers from South Carolina starting it. I was in no way disappointed. Had two servings of the biscuits and gravy before I hit the road home to California. Talked to one of the brothers for a few mins. He was so nice. Gave me some extra biscuits for thw drive home to munch on. He didnt have to do that. But it is things like that that I remember and value and will always recommend this place. Doesn't hurt that the food it 10 stars out of 5 rating. The biscuits and sausage gravy, the Reggie sandwich and the pop tarts. Yummmmmmm. Wish they had a location in Southern Calif. I have ordered on Goldbelly from here as well.

Still the best biscuits and gravy you will ever encounter. Traveling down South for the last couple years on business has been a big disappointment in this staple breakfast. If I have a mid morning out of PDX, then I'll definitely be at the Pine State 8 am opening. So good to have a great breakfast before a flight. Airport is only 15 minutes away going against the commute into downtown.
Dan D — Google review
Man on man. Usually when you get volume you can be overwhelmed by the amount carbs that can be given to you. Note I was hungry after a 2 hour nap from my flight. I didn't get sleep before. Could it have played the way I was hungry? Maybe. With that being said. Let's start. This spot was not the original place I wanted to eat because I was looking for something else, it's not normal that I crave biscuits in the morning but since this is different from my normal morning time breakfast fiend, ill make the exception. Hurry up and start talking the food! Alright alright: The reggie deluxe: Fried chicken, bacon, and Tillamook cheddar topped with mushroom gravy and an egg. There was another choice but i went with the recommendation. Absolute flames. First of all it's a hearty sandwich this could be shared for two. I knocked out this monster right out the gate. Every time I kept taking a bite im like, wow i can keep going. They make their biscuits from scratch everyday so super super kudo points for that. Blueberry Cornmeal Pancakes: Big triple stack made from scratch with local blueberries and served with butter, lemon, and real maple syrup. They serve you per pancake up on request, it my usual head two sounds good enough. These were nice size pancakes as well. The attention to detail with local ingredients just hits home. I can't tell you enough about this place. parking: pain in the butt as usual but I was lucky to find a spot early.

I like this location, the food was good, the service was simple and quick, the prices were decent. The fish tanks are enjoyable to sit at and there’s ample seating with outdoor options as well. They also have a good selection of option for vegans and vegetarians and those with food allergies. I plan on returning. I went around 4pm on a Friday and it was relatively quiet, but by 530pm it was picking up significantly if that helps.

I personally love their jalapeño poppers and the Reno roll. But all the other vegan options are equally tasty! Highly recommended!!

Best vegan sushi/food. I have dreams about the vegan jalapeno poppers. My favorite place to go when in town, honestly the only place I'll go.

New American restaurant
Restaurant
Han Oak Restaurant LLC is a trendy Korean establishment in Portland, Oregon that offers upscale tasting menus and drink pairings. The restaurant has a clean and modern design with an open kitchen, creating a festive atmosphere. It's known for its communal and community-shaped feel, making it perfect for larger or medium-sized groups to enjoy dishes like pork and chive dumplings and koji-baked pork.
Had a great time, ton of food! The menu is seasonal but my favorite dish was the beef rib. The cocktails were good too, and the restaurant has a cool indoor/outdoor vibe. Perfect place for a group of 4 so we could try everything. If I go again, I'll have to make sure I fast before lol. Good service!

Had dinner here tonight with my wife and we really enjoyed ourselves. The food was tasty and beautifully presented, the service was friendly, and the ambiance was warm, modern, and intimate—felt like a cozy little hidden gem. One big plus? It’s great value. For two people, including drinks, our total came out to just $167—super reasonable for the quality, especially considering how well-crafted the dishes and cocktails were. Only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the timing of the meal. The dishes came out quite slowly, and not in the most logical order. For example, our rice arrived hot at the beginning, but since everything else came out gradually across an hour, by the time we finished eating, the rice had gone cold. Just felt a bit mismatched in pacing. That said, the overall experience was still very enjoyable. The flavors were great, the plating was thoughtful, and the price point was more than fair. We’d definitely come back again—and next time, maybe just let them know we’d like dishes to arrive closer together 😉

We were really excited to finally try Han Oak after years of hearing great things. While the food was decent, it ultimately fell short in several areas. Our experience seems to line up with a handful of more mid-reviews here: thoughtful, but not quite on par with Portland’s usual culinary standard, especially for the price. This fall’s seasonal menu was jipbab (집밥), or 'home-cooked meal'. The $65 set menu began with an array of banchan. I thought the silken egg custard with dashi gel was the highlight, delicate and delicious (its only flaw being too small). The other sides, carrots and beets, potato salad, and smashed cucumbers, were fine but felt an overworked. The chilled kimchi consomme was interesting but reminded me a little too much of cold instant-ramen broth. I was also hoping the kimchi would tie the meal together, but it really needed more age and depth. I wish the banchan had been served as true side dishes with the rice and mains, rather than as an 'appetizer' course. I think that could have been the intention given the way it was written in the menu, and the seasoning level, but it looked like the rice only came with the mains, and I wish they all came at the same time, or the rice with the banchan. Portions overall felt small. At times it seemed we were sharing one portion between two people. For the mains, we tried the galbi-jjim and the kimchi-pepper-glazed pork ribs. Both were good but not exceptional. The galbi-jjim could’ve used a longer braise for more tenderness and a touch more caramelization. The pork ribs were flavourful and fun, and the corn with ramen seasoning powder added a nice playful zing. Dessert was a take on tiramisu with coffee jelly. Creative, but like several dishes before, it felt like it was trying a bit too hard and didn’t quite land. Overall, I appreciated the creativity, friendly service, and the charming and hidden setting. But for a 'home-cooked' meal concept, the experience felt a little confused and a bit under-satisfying both in portion and in spirit. We left wanting to like it more than we actually did, and unfortunately, also a little hungry.

We had a wonderful night overall! The vibe is lovely for a date night or intimate gathering. As far as food, some dishes were extraordinary and a couple were not our favorite. We didn’t understand the tiramisu for dessert, but overall it was a great experience.

We saw an article about han oak in the new york times so we thought to check it out since we're already in the area. We had high expectations and we're very excited to try it out. Service was good. We were not very impressed with the food. None of the dishes stood out above average. The duksu was very very salty. The cocktail drink was cute. It had one large ice cube and a seasoned lime but tasted sort of like you chewed a rubber band. Very interesting. We enjoyed the restaurant vibe. It was partly indoor, which gave it a patio feel. Parking can be a challenge. We found street parking and walked it. Overall, it was an experience, but we're unlikely to return.

Food is decent, but overpriced and service was lacking. The restaurant was spacious so that’s nice. First the rice according to menu should accompany the appetizer tray but the rice did not come until the main dish. In Asian culture rice always comes early. I asked waitress for rice early and she said yes but did not follow up. Once another waitress tried to take away my plates when I did not finish. This is a big service lapse. Finally, they served several food in one plate instead of based on the number of parties, assuming we would share such as the dessert which is perfectly served separately. Overall, food is overpriced and service is lacking. This place is not suitable for someone looking for the authentic Asian experience with decent service.

What a lovely time! Came for a birthday dinner. First course was the first line of menu items and the banchan, which we were told to make hand rolls out of. It was our favorite part, each of the three were delicious!!! I enjoyed the salmon but the egg custard was not for me. I'm sure it was made well but the cold texture of it was unpleasant. We got the cod and noodles, both very good. I'm a huge fan of tiramisu but was disappointed with the coffee jelly layer; the bitterness was extreme and felt out of place in an otherwise subtle dessert. Service and wait time were good. We left extremely full and happy with the meal.
Lily S — Google review
The Jipbap menu that they were serving felt homely indeed, but it wasn't only the menu that gave such a relaxed vibe. The decorations and lighting throughout the entire space including the patio and play area created a sense of distinct yet interconnected spaces throughout the whole area. And the wholesome service throughout the evening, built up on that cozy homely vibe. A point regarding their service that i deeply appreciated was the fact that they were openly communicative and mindful of the weather conditions that day and how their open space may affect some visitors. It was expected to be a hot summer day and since their space is an open one, they gave us a chance to reschedule if we needed to. Even though i wasn't expecting to cancel or reschedule, i felt throughly reassured to visit them on one of the hotter weekends this year, knowing that we would be taken care of! I was enamored by how salt and umami were intimately embraced by several of the offerings. As a salt fiend, it is sometimes a struggle, to find otherwise authentic dishes, that somehow haven't had a dash of sugar added to make it more palatable for the masses. Such transgressions weren't made here. For drinks this evening, we ordered the citron tea soda and pic 4 pic which were both wonderfully refreshing and the perfect pairings for a hot summer evening. For the accompaniments section, the chilled soup stood out the most for me. What i had expected to be just a palate cleanser turned out to be a spicy chilled soup which did its job well despite being spicy. The rice and pickles were other elements that i liked because of their simplicity, however the kimchi felt a bit underseasoned to me, but it could also be that this particular type of kimchi has a subtler taste than its bombastic cousins, which i enjoy a lot more. The banchans were where the music really started. My wife's favorites were the carrot with gochujang balsamic glaze and the kale and mustard greens with mushrooms and perilla dressing, however my favorite was the smashed cucumber with kim-chilli crisp and toum. All the banchans were very thoughtfully crafted, with flavor and texture in mind. The crunchy bits throughout each banchan truly elevated it. The portion sizes left us yearning for more, while setting the pace for what was to follow. While my words wouldn't do justice to the impact that the next dish had on my wife, i will try my best. The dry aged king salmon was a revelation for her. Not a fan of raw or cured fishes and meats, she was absolutely ecstatic after trying their salmon. She didn't find it fishy at all. This had NEVER happened to her before and her mind was throughly and unequivocally, blown. It was life changing! I enjoyed the disappearing act of the salmon as well, as it was melting in my mouth within seconds. The citrus soy and ikura were perfect accompaniments and the slivers of shoestring potatoes just added that finer touch of texture that made this dish the pinnacle of our experience that night. THIS is what fine-dining should be about! We were so emotionally connected to this dish that we asked a server for seconds and were rightfully told that their portions are fixed. The next dish in line was the crab and egg custard which changed our minds regarding the fact that custards don't always have to be sweet. But we couldn't forget about the salmon and asked Ness this time, if it was possible to get seconds. Ness inquired with the crew and one of the chefs happily came through by himself and served us another portion saying that they were happy that we enjoyed their dish so much. Props to both Ness and the chef for making our night memorable and sweet!!! The galbi-jjim was totally reminiscent of a homely meat curry! Savory and delicious. And the jangban guksu with dungeness crab was an absolute flavor bomb, even though the balance of flavors in the broth can still be improved upon. The tiramisu ended our beautiful night on a crescendo! We'll be back to try out the other entrees. The value for money at $65pp for the set menu, felt incredible!

Chicken restaurant
Chicken and Guns is a rustic stand with outdoor seats and a firepit that specializes in wood-smoked Latin-style chicken. The chicken is so good that it should be regulated by law. Dustin Knoxs Chicken and Guns opened in 2016 after Central, his former Chinatown bar, went out of business. The Perierra Creperie co-founder brings his delicious wood-smoked chicken to Portlanders who love it dearly.
Had the best chicken and potatoes here! The potatoes were nice and crispy, and were seasoned really tasty, and the chicken was done perfectly, tasted very juicy and good, but also a bit smokey! In combo, such a great experience. Just for 15$, and it was such a big portion! It’s soo worth the money. The server was also friendly, totally recommend that place!

This place is fantastic! It’s one of my favorite places to eat chicken. I really enjoy their chicken, but I’m not a big fan of their potatoes. The service is amazing, and the atmosphere is great, even when it’s raining. The seating is perfect in an enclosed canopy. It’s definitely worth it!
Montoro — Google review
Not only is the the best chicken, the best wings and the best salad in Ptown, the service is legit. Five Star eats at a food cart pod is no joke!
Breon G — Google review
Prices are pretty high for the amount of food you get. The chicken is good I guess? It's decent jerk chicken--well roasted, well seasoned, but honestly nothing special. The Aji sauce is something pretty unique, but not quite worth the price you're paying. Don't be like me and order the quarter chicken, 'cause you'll definitely end up still hungry. At the same time, I can't really justify spending $26 for the half chicken. I can't really recommend this spot. There's nothing wrong with the food, but for the price, there's better places to eat at.
Nicholas P — Google review
We had the Quarter Bird ($15) with Guns as the side and Peruvian Aji sauce. The chicken here is grilled over charcoal, so it has a deep smoky flavor and a deliciously crispy, charred edge. The 'Guns' — skin-on potato wedges — were super crispy and had a different kind of deliciousness compared to regular fries.
Yulily — Google review
Super filling for the portion! Only complaint is sometimes due to the outdoor seating the area can feel a bit awkward due to bugs
Parm M — Google review
I have never been disappointed eating at Chicken and Guns, from the first time I ate here 7 years ago when I first moved to Portland, to today the food has always been delicious, fresh, colorful, and well worth what you pay. The service is always top notch and all of the staff are super friendly and will not steer you wrong on food. This is one of my favorite food carts in Portland because of how flavorful the chicken is, how fresh their ingredients are, and for how generous their portions are.

By far the best chicken you get in portland. Its juicy, its flavors are on point. I get the salad always, but you could try the guns. I love the Peruvian ahi. Get an extra one always. Its really delusions.

Nestled along Northeast Alberta Street, Gumba is a delightful outdoor Italian food vendor that has captured the hearts of many since its inception in 2017. This charming spot, run by Jesse Martinez and Robin Brassaw, offers an array of vibrant pasta dishes adorned with edible flowers and rich sauces cooked to perfection. The inviting atmosphere features twinkling patio lights and a chalkboard menu filled with enticing specials that change frequently, showcasing the chefs' creativity.
Gumba may be my favorite restaurant in Portland, with the beautiful decor, easy service and most importantly, beautiful and delicious food - Gumba is a one of a kind in Portland. I have been wanting to go here for ages but never got around to it. I had high expectations with the the great reviews Gumba has received and even with perception going in, I was BLOWN AWAY by the food. I'm not kidding when I say the flavors, presentation and preparation of these dishes rivals the high dining restaurants of our city. Our dishes had me experiencing flavors I haven't had before, and for that alone it was awesome. Gumba is on par with my favorite restaurant in Portland, Kann, when it comes to all of these factors. I'm absolutely blown away and impressed! The chicken parm was so unique with the corn flavored puree and the seafood spaghetti tasted unlike any other I've had. To top everything off, our cocktail and wine were perfect, and our desserts left us happy and satisfied. Gumba truly is worth the rep that it gets. The decor, the food, the drinks, are all stellar. This is one of my favorite restaurants and I cannot wait to come here again. I HIGHLY recommend Gumba, beautiful and delicious food awaits you!

A cute, fun, and bright spot for yummy Italian food! We made a reservation for 7 and got seated right away. The service was quick, but not that friendly. And for an automatic 25% gratuity, which we were not told about prior, I expect excellent service, which we did NOT receive. I eventually saw it at the bottom of the menu…but that’s neither here nor there. You’re knowingly getting a 25% tip, so either you’re not even trying because it’s automatic and/or you just don’t care and maybe you shouldn’t work in customer service. Our server seemed smug and dropped off dishes too quick to answer any questions or ask for any other requests. I had to ask if there were any specials; he didn’t openly tell us about it. The food was really good, though and I loved the ambience. But the service really put a damper on the experience.

Delicious Italian food and cocktails. Loved the beets by Dre cocktail. Recommended dishes : beet salad 10/10, seafood spaghettini (best dish we had!) , gnocchi and meatballs were also delicious! Olive oil cake was also delicious but a bit dense per my liking! Would definitely come back to try more on their menu.

I came here on Monday night to specifically to try their monthly chicken parm special (which you can only get on Mondays) and wish I would have gone sooner! I wasn’t prepared for how much I would like it and will definitely be back for more. This month’s special was such a great mix of sweet and savory notes. The portion was large, especially when adding the pasta. It was easily two meals, which worked out great for leftovers the next day. I’m not generally a calamari fan but thought I would give it a shot since my bf really wanted to try it. It had really great flavors and am glad I tried it, but didn’t turn me into a calamari lover. Gumba is always a win in my book!

Gumba has been a favorite of ours so it was a no brainer to have them cater our wedding in North Portland. From the consultation to the wedding day, the general manager John and his team were amazing to work with! He is so chill and made sure all of our needs and wants were met. The food at the wedding was the main event and guests have not stop raving about it! John and his team provided amazing service and were such a welcome presence. They even went above and beyond and prepped kid specific meals without us asking, and boxed up all of our leftovers for us to take home!

Gumba is absolutely my favorite Italian restaurant in Portland. All of the food blew me away. These pictures are from two separate visits. The Fry Bread was so light and fluffy and paired with the Chicken Liver Mousse it was heaven. I don’t like chicken liver … I would venture to say that I hate chicken liver … but that mousse is absolute magic. The pickled onion and pickles raisins were a perfect pairing. I could eat that every day and be happy. The clams were fresh and the citrus saffron sauce was so well balanced it was a sort of dance of flavors and textures that all worked well together. Not pictured were the tangerine marinated olives. I want a giant jar of those at my house at all times! Olives are give or take for me, but by god those are the best olives I have ever eaten in my life! They are sweet with a slight heat that was very pleasant. The Garlic bread and the meat balls were the perfect happy hour appetizer for two. Both delicious and the meat balls were cooked perfectly. The Spaghettini was divine. The mascarpone added a fresh light creaminess that pulled all the other flavors together and the squid ink pasta made for a great presentation and was absolutely delicious. The Tagliatelle was so light and fresh and that Dungeness Crab was a delicious treat! The star of the pasta show was the Pappardelle. I felt like Anton Ego in “Ratatouille” when I took the first bite. Absolute silence and reverence for the most perfect pasta dish I have ever eaten in my entire life. The flavors are so so complex yet comforting and the beef is so tender it falls apart. It was so flavorful and comforting it made me sigh with relief … from what I don’t know but there it is. If you are in Portland looking for Italian food, please check out Gumba. You will not be disappointed!

Its small but the flavors are big. Make a reservation if you can and be prepared for street parking as most places in Portland are. Hands down the best pasta I've ever had and I'm not exaggerating. There were 3 of us and we shared a fry bread, vodka gnocchi, short rib parpadell, and the artichoke. Every single item was amazing. We had the panna cotta which i didn't like it was too sour but my mom loved it, and the cannoli which was 7/10. Will definitely return when we are back in Portland.

First time here and the food was fabulous. We didn’t have reservations but the host found us a table for 3. The restaurant is bigger than what it looks like on the outside. The ambiance is very charming! Started with appetizer of the fry bread and fried artichoke hearts. Had a bottle of Pinot Noir. Entrees were the braised beef shirt rib pappardelle pasta, lasagna and pappardelle with meatballs and vodka sauce (this was originally made with gnocchi which I don’t like) I was able to substitute it for the pappardelle which was delicious. All the entrees were fresh ingredients full of flavor. If you are looking to try a new place, I highly recommend!

Chicken shop
Chimcking, a delightful addition to Beaverton's culinary scene, brings the flavors of Korean fried chicken straight from its South Korean roots. This eatery offers a simple yet enticing menu featuring crispy wings in both spicy and soy-garlic varieties that are reminiscent of sweet, crunchy candy. Pair your meal with their cheesy ddukbokki—spicier than most—and enjoy it alongside a refreshing Hite beer for the perfect dining experience.
Food: Wings are pretty tender and soy garlic is the way to go along with the crispy wedges! The popcorn chicken with salad are good if you didn't want to use your hands for wings and looking for some veggies. A little on the pricier side. Service: Workers seemed new when we were at the restaurant but they were friendly. Atmosphere: I didn't really get the beer and chicken vibe if that was the goal. Two big screen TVs but seating is limited to maybe 18 people at the most. If you're looking for some good Korean wings and you want something better than BWW and Wingstop, Chimcking 👍

The best wings I’ve ever had! Perfectly fried and not greasy at all! The hot ones are spicy but good spicy & flavor! One cashier there that cooks and cleans up with excellent attitude! Definitely my go to place when I’m shopping near here! 10 times better the Hot Wings! Without the grease and attitude!

Its wings and it’s better then the main brand wing places. The wings cooked close to where you expect if not perfect they have crunch but not burnt crunch I like to eat the ends so they are perfect for that. The jojo are definitely the side item to get. I went on a Sunday for lunch and wasn’t too busy only had to wait maybe 10 minutes for a pretty big order of at least 30 wings and some jojo. They had a lot of to go orders. Seating can get limited if a bigger party comes in then could feel crowded.

This is my family’s favorite chicken wing restaurant. The soy garlic flavor is the best. We also like the hot wings. So half-half choice is perfect. The wings are not too soft and not too hard. The coating is in the right thickness and it is not too oily. The wings are tasty with the pickles. Perfect to go with beer as a nighttime snack. We called and ordered for takeout and it took only 10 mins for the order to be ready.

My neighbors told.me.about the good chicken so decided to check the place out. Friendly service and nice staff. Good selection of Korean beer, other beers and soda. We had fried chicken wings that was garlic and soy and the other dish I don't remember. My kid loves Korean food and culture and I asked her the dish name twice today and forgot already...looks like pasta but is rice noodles, fish cakes and spicy sauce with cheese on top. Food was delicious and wings on point. Will have to try other sauces.

new review: while the chicken is still good, it is as crunchy as I remember it. You order up front and bus your own tables. I prefer the spicy ones over the soy garlic. I am a fan of how many wings I got ( very little drumsticks). prior review: Delicious fried chicken. The sides and all other dishes are a pass. -1 star for the wait since the wait time is so inconsistent. Parking is okay, it is in a big lot near TJ. The extra spicy is not that spicy.

Boxcar Pizza is a trendy vegan eatery housed in a unique building, offering Detroit-style pizzas and wings. This is hands down my favorite vegan restaurant and the best pizza I've ever had, period. The menu is incredible with a huge variety of topping options. Pok Pok is a small, modern restaurant that has become a staple in Portland's food scene. With multiple locations across the country, it offers Southeast Asian-inspired dishes and innovative cocktails. Chef Andy Ricker's creative family-style menu includes popular items like fish sauce wings, Thai herbal salad with coconut dressing, and charcoal-grilled boar collar with mustard greens.
I LOVE this spot!! A friend recommended it while I was it town and it was outstanding. Simple but we'll prepared dishes with tons of flavor. The wings are excellent!!! Salty and crispy! Definitely try them! We also tried the prawns in a hot clay pot and it was sizzling and so yummy. Loved the glass noodles! We tried the Thai curry and the spicy peanuts. I loved everything here! We also had the mango with sticky rice. It was so delicious and a perfect finish!

Really authentic flavors, unique Thai Street food that you can't normally get... Don't expect pad Thai or other such items. Their drink menu is also adventurous, thoughtful and creative with fusion elements bringing east and west flavors together. The decor makes you really feel that you are in a small village in Thailand. We also felt that the chicken with the 2 dipping sauces (second item on the menu) was the highlight for food, even better than the wings everyone raves about. Service was also very friendly and helpful. Thanks for a wonderful lunch!

This place is already known for good food so nothing much I can add further but I would like to share my 2cents for their small details. The water served was i think mixed with Coconut water or something with Coconut. Normally it will be just a tap or still water but this small difference looked their key to success. In addition, they served two corns with Coconut cream which we ordered one but the corns were small so we got two of them. Great service and food! SNGW!

I don't come down to Portland often. The last time I tried to go to Pok Pok several years ago, it was closed! This time I was successful in eating at Pok Pok, the indoor dining area is small & cozy. They have outside dining area plus take out. Apparently the takeout menu is different from the dining menu. They had a Tom Yum ramen for takeout that was not available for dining in. We had the famous chicken wings, it live up to it's reputation & diners review about it. They weren't kidding- it was OMG! We also ordered the Pok Pok special with half a BBQ chicken with 2 yummy & different dipping sauce served with the papaya salad & glutinous rice in a basket. The papaya salad was yummy... chicken was tender & juicy, their dipping sauces were good. One was spicy & the other was sweet & sour, both were good. Service was good, bring our first time there, the server recommended the Pok Pok special. All in all, a yummy experience! Until next time.

Delicious and spicy food! The dishes are a little overpriced and are on the smaller size. The wait is also ridiculous. On a Saturday night, the wait was 1.5 hours. On a Sunday afternoon, the wait was 30 min. I suggest going during off-peak hours if you really wanna try the food. Definitely delicious and worth the hype.

This is possibly one of the best restaurants in Portland. The ambiance and feel is perfect. The waiter was fantastic from making sure we where taken care of to making the sure we where getting the most immersive experiences. Then there is the food! Every dish was cooked to perfection, the flavors where a symphony, each one more amazing than the last. If you are in the area you must try this place out!

Pork Bao with bone-in is amazing!! $5. Fish sauce wings is very flavorful but definitely smells like fish sauce even after you've eaten it. $14. Overall, very good!

Tasty n Daughters is a vibrant restaurant that serves inventive American dishes in a spacious and lively setting. They offer daily brunch, dinner, and happy hours, with a unique tapas menu and full bar available even on Monday mornings. The restaurant's family-style dining concept allows patrons to enjoy dishes like lemon ricotta pancakes, frittata served in a cast-iron pan, and the popular bim bop bacon and eggs.
Best breakfast I've had in a long time! The tapas style menu is fantastic, allowing you to sample a wide variety of their fanciful gastronomic delights without becoming full. The polenta with sausage and egg is amazing, as is the venison gravy on the homemade biscuits! The wait staff is very friendly and helpful, as well. This place is more than worth the wait.

The restaurant looked very trendy and had a welcoming environment and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The downfall was the food. While it looked awesome and you could tell it had quality Ingredients, 2 out of 3 items we ordered were a miss. The burger was bland and lacked flavor other than the blue cheese and the French sausage sandwich was also bland (My GF added hot sauce to make it better). The French fries were good, was nice, but those are quite easy to make. I think this might be a great place for happy hour craft drinks, but I wouldn't recommend any of the food items that we tried.

I heard rave reviews about this place from friends so I decided to come here for my birthday. Tasty N' Sons... is amazing! The first thing you should know is the entrees are served family style, so the portions are LARGE. We ordered the following (and yes we over ordered but it was my birthday and these leftovers were so worth it) : Bacon wrapped dates, maple and cumin yams, Mac and cheese, fried chicken, cider braised pork chop with bacon jam atop a Johnny cake, one of each kind of biscuit and a pear berry fried pie with Chai tea ice cream. I would say the must haves are the dates, fried chicken, pork chop/Johnny cake and biscuits. Everything was good, but these were exceptional and I would gladly order them again. The fried chicken when paired with their pickle, some hot spice and honey was the perfect bite. Same goes for the pork chop with bacon jam and Johnny cake. In addition to the delicious food, the service was impeccable. I've never been to a restaurant where the balance of service was perfect: not overly smothered yet not abandoned and still being taken care of. The staff was incredibly friendly and informative. This was just the icing on the cake... or pie? Seriously, if you haven't figured it out by now, I LOVED Tasty N' Sons. It's a MUST in a city of incredible restaurants.

It was all Tasty! And I would definitely return. We walked in and the place was packed, so definitely try to secure a reservation beforehand. Everything we ate was simply incredible! The slider board was my favorite but hubs ribs were tender and well, tasty. The cheese biscuit is a definite must!

Tried to go for brunch on Sunday AM, and it was packed at 9, when they open, 1-hour wait. So, I came back Monday AM & was able to sit at the bar easily. Great spot - seriously awesome. Interesting and delicious food in a cool & friendly setting. Had the salmon board and the baked cherries with Taleggio. Also had to try the breakfast sandwich! Check it out immediately when in Portland!

This little, unassuming gem was better than the reviews raved. The service was welcoming from the minute we walked in and were quickly served. Their menu offs many fantastic twists on old classics and we were told the shakshuka was “possibly the dish that built this place.” Given that we ordered that alone with potatoes bravas (which was hot and delicious) and Aunt Paula’s French Toast (a dessert both sweet and delightful). The prices were very reasonable. Would highly recommend.

Tasty and Sons was incredible. I highly recommend you visit this location if you don’t feel like waiting in super long lines around the block at Tasty and Alder. I am from the Deep South, so I know hot chicken, and let me tell you, this Nashville hot chicken sandwich is one of the best I have ever had. I was blown away. The shakshuka was also amazing as well as the blackberry jam and biscuits. Also a cool feature is that they have a hallway behind the restaurant that connects the strip mall and shared restrooms.

I visited this place on our trip to Oregon and on my birthday and what i can say is that this is more of an experience than anything else. Every single item on the menue is so perfectly put together that you end up talking about your food days after. Great staff great drinks. Highly recommended. Go early so you don't end up waiting

The Wooden Chicken Pub is a sports bar located in NE Portland, featuring a lively atmosphere with team banners and neon signs. The pub offers a variety of food and drinks, including fish 'n' chips, Buffalo chicken strips, and chili burgers. Visitors can enjoy the entertainment with pool tables, Lotto machines, and multiple TVs broadcasting sports events.
When people say they want old Portland, they rarely mean it… so if you’re looking for the best fish and chips that don’t require a drive to the coast, a cold beer and a shot… then come on in. I discovered this place back when I used to be a shot girl in my twenties and I hadn’t been back till today, and I’ve been missing out. The staff are fantastic, the service is quick and if you’re sitting at the bar you’re definitely gonna make friends.

Been coming here for years. I wouldn’t say that I am necessarily a regular, but this is the number one place I’ll go in town for halibut fish and chips. The best, freshly dipped and fried. However, the $4 fountain economy cola in addition to the three dollar to-go fee was maybe enough to make me not want to go back. I was certainly surprised at my total when given my bill. The bartender on shift said the $3 to go fee was for the kitchen staff apparently but don’t mind the 20% tip I left in hopes that it would be shared with weight and kitchen staff. Getting charge extra because I am taking my food to go seems quite odd. I guess just a heads up would’ve been nice.
Darren M — Google review
New ownership has proven to be a disappointment. Halibut fish & chips were outrageously expensive. Price has gone up which is expected with food costs but from $16 to $25 ! For a 2 piece?? The halibut was just not the same. Quality has gone down. This WAS my favorite place for halibut but not anymore! So sad! Hardly any customers in the place and it is to be packed! I can see why now!

Made the mistake of ordering 1/2-lb. bbq chicken wings and picked it up then brought it home. Didn't open it until I got it home and found 1/2 lb. wings = 3. Unless the price of the accompanying celery and carrot sticks has gone way up, I won't be ordering here again.

I had excellent fish and chips several years ago so when the suggestion to have lunch here was made, i didn't hesitate, but I will not eat here in the future. The lunch special was chicken tortilla soup. We were served broth with beef and celery soup, and a few tortilla strips sprinkled on top to "look" like tortilla soup. Saltines were served on the side, because that's what's compatible with beef and celery soup, and we were glad to have that addition to the broth. Upon questioning the server, who then asked the chef, we were boldly lied to our faces about what the soup was. Insisting the meat was chicken, and the soup was tortilla soup. Saying it, doesn't make it so. Apparently, it's their version of what's what and "depends on who's making the soup", whether or not it's actually what you ordered. Doesn't even deserve one star for that stunt.
Pamela H — Google review
This place is overpriced. I called to order a half dozen of hot wings & the lady gave me a time frame for pickup. I go to pickup and it’s an order with only 4 inside. Total was $14 so I questioned where the rest of the wings were. Apparently, they go by weight and not quantity. It would’ve been nice to know that ahead of time. 1/2 pound of hot wings are $14, which is absurdly overpriced. I’ve learned my lesson and will never order food here again.

UPDATE: a year ago, I gave this restaurant a 1 star review due to poor service and flat beer. A year later, upon insistence by friends who wanted to have dinner here, I came back. Happily, I can report that my beer was delicious. Service was much improved despite a being busy. I had a bacon cheeseburger which was quite tasty, however, the halibut fish & chips that my wife ordered was amazing. I'm upping my rating to 4 stars.

Avoid getting the chicken wings, it is a complete rip off. I paid $20 for 6 chicken wings (got the 1 pound option). Absolutely wild overcharging that much. The food itself tasted good but way overpriced. Server was good

Delta Cafe is a long-standing Cajun eatery and bar located on Woodstock Boulevard in the Southeast of Portland. This popular spot attracts a student-heavy crowd with its ample selection of brunch dishes and fried fare. Whether you choose to order online, dine-in, or opt for curbside pickup, Delta Cafe ensures a satisfying experience. One standout item from their menu is the Waffle with Bacon, which is regarded as one of the finest in Portland.
We shared the Fried Chicken Special- two breasts, four drumsticks, cole slaw and greens (subbed for mashers and gravy)- this was an incredible amount of food and so good for $20. The fried chicken at the Delta is some of the best in Portland. Wonderful cocktails, friendly service and a super relaxed atmosphere. Recommend! 2025 update- the Eggs Benedict Sardou are delicious with the addition of artichokes and creamed spinach. Get the fried cheese grits as the side.

We were heading to Ikea, and the traffic was so bad around 430ish pm. We figured that we get something to eat while waiting for the traffic to die down. My daughter and I wanted some Thai or Vietnamese food. My husband had wanted to go to Delta Cafe for a while now. He swore up and down that this place was awesome (in his defense the last time he went was like 20plus years ago). He recommended some dishes from what he recall of the menu. We got to the place and was able to get a parking space so that is plus already. The place is not much to look at, but this type of place that have moms and dad's vibe simply the best places to eat so I did not mind the "dive bar" ambience. We went to seat ourselves and we had the server walk to us right away. The place was fairly empty with two other occupied patrons in the booths by the bar area. We first went to the window seating, but it is too cold. That is the first I noticed about the place that it was cold and dark. The decor is what I would expect from the place... misfits and mismatch that has a charm to it. The server asked right away what we wanted for drink and my husband said to give us a moment. Ok this sounds weird, but she was staring or had this awkward moment like waiting... unsure if she heard him saying we needed more time. We got to this place around 4:50pm. We moved table at this time and waited for the server to come back and we sat there for a good 15 min before we sent our daughter to search for her. My daughter said that she is the only one working server so that is forgivable. She came to take our order like within 10 mins I believed. My daughter blesses her heart decided to share with me since she thought that the menu was not palatable. We ordered the fried chicken and blackened catfish. We ordered 7 up and my husband ordered some drink on their special menu. My daughter complaining that there was so much ice in the 7up that she took to sip and that was it. No refill since the server did not bother to even check with us. When the food finally came around...I posted on FB and it looks like the food was served 5 minutes before 7pm. The chicken was flavorful and hot unfortunately it was chewy and dry. The mash potato was not bad, it was actually tasty. The cheesy grits whatever that thing was so bland, I had to dipped in the mash potato to make it tasty. My husband fish was cold. I mean literally cold inside. The beans were cold. The rice was cold. The collard greens were good but a bit salty but at least it was somewhat warm. My husband told the server that the food was really cold. She apologized and went to the kitchen and took a bit of time to get back with us. She came with the new fresh fish, but she did not take into account that the rest of the meal was cold. She keeps apologizing. We ended eating the chicken for 3 of us. There is not much choice. My husband did not eat his food and the one replacement fish as well. The waitress stands next to our table and states that can she make an excuse for the food being cold. She went on to say that they are understaff and the place is cold (broken heater or some shit like that) so that is why the food is cold. If one food is already done, then send to the table and don't let it sit there waiting for the other to finish! Apologize then that the food will be delivered at different times instead of having it sitting there and getting cold! Also, we noticed that there is not a lot of noises coming from the kitchen since they advertise that the meals are cooked from scratch, you would think that the kitchen will be louder. When we left, the two people that is supposed to be cooks are just standing around chit chatting. Good GOD what a horrible place...dirty and shitty service and overall awful food! NOT RECOMMENDED. The only the thing that came from that horrible place is that we did not get charge for the fish dish. I would throw a fit if they had insisted that we pay for it.

I offer this rating as a snapshot of one experience, not my experience with Delta Cafe in general. I ordered (through Uber Eats) the Mom’s Fried Chicken and got a tiny, shriveled drumstick that appeared to be several hours old and an oversized boneless chicken strip. The chicken strip was super bland and the chicken had no flavor to it - tasted like it was boiled in unsalted water. This is unusual for this restaurant, but it makes me wonder if the management has changed. Super disappointed, especially considering that I paid $17 for this.

Coming from the south I was very excited to try Delta Cafe, we came in around 8:45 PM and sat at the bar. Instantly fell in love with our server/bartender Sage. I would go back for drinks just because of how amazing she was. Unfortunately, majority of the food was not it tonight. We ordered the BBQ on Texas Toast with Mac and Cheese and Collard Greens. The collards were actually pretty good with some Crystal hot sauce but the Mac and Cheese and BBQ were mediocre. The other enjoyable option was the Beignets. They came with a lemon custard that I wasn't the biggest fan of but my partner loved it. As for the hush puppies... those were absolutely terrible. They were hard and severe dry on the inside. Tasted like plain Cornbread rolled into a ball and deep fried for 10 hours. The meatloaf was also not good, even though I'm not used to gravy on meatloaf it still didn't taste good itself, it looked like it was also fried. I can't say if these recipes would be better if the grease was changed out or not. We were very kind and provided feedback. I definitely was hoping to love this place, the vibe and service were great...just wish someone would help them with the food side.
Justin G — Google review
REVISED 5/28/25 because the service here has taken a BIG step up over the past few months. It seems like there was some major staff changes on the floor and in the kitchen and brunch service has been attentive and food comes out much faster than it used to. We've been for brunch maybe 4-5 times in the past two months or so and everything has been wonderful. Our brunch faves are the veggie benedict, the beignets, and the fried cheesy grits. I could seriously eat those grits at every meal.
Sarah M — Google review
I rarely leave negative reviews without contacting merchants directly, but the feedback link in the order email leads somewhere my computer thinks is too unsafe and insecure to connect to. I remember Delta being dependable back in the day, if not usually my first choice, but we ordered takeout recently and had to throw almost the entire order away. The coating/breading they use on everything has an unappealing, sandy texture and desperately needs seasoning. I could see it working with fish, but the fried chicken breast was dry and chewy. The drumstick fared a teensy bit better but was nowhere near as juicy or flavorful as I expect from a piece of dark meat. And that coating is simply...not good. Mashed potatoes were just ok, better without the bland gravy. One of the fried cheesy polenta triangles obviously split open during cooking. It was packaged upside down to hide the gaping split, but when I tried to pick it up it disintegrated back into the takeout box. (See photo.) I did try the intact one, but it tasted more like fryer oil that needs changing than cheese or grits. Fried pickle spears tasted fine, but again with the sandy coating. The menu said we'd get corn bread with the order of drumsticks, but it wasn't included. After tasting the food we did get, I wasn't heartbroken. Person who picked up our food said cafe was empty, vibe was off, and the old fashioned he ordered while waiting (his usual) was unrecognizable and ungarnished. I honestly feel bad writing this, because they're an Old Portland joint to me, but OOF.
Tonya M — Google review
Great service. As expected but not mind blowing food. Liked the hush puppies but they serve it with a BBQ sauce and not a pepper jelly. Artichokes were super bland. Catfish was great, Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes good, best coleslaw I've had in the PNW. Cool vibe. I'd go back.
Claudette A — Google review
I wasn't sure what to expect walking in as it was an eclectic vibe, and untraditional restaurant. The booths were held together by duct tape but it added a bit of charm. The food was absolutely incredible. Each dish we had was on point. Chicken poyboy, dirty Mac, gumbo, hush puppies and catfish were so good. The drink specials were plentiful and the one we had (can't remember the name) was perfect for a hot day. On top of all this, the service was amazing. Definitely go and enjoy this gem in Woodstock.

LoRell's Chicken Shack is a heartfelt tribute to Chicago's chicken wing traditions, brought to Portland by Darrell Preston. The wings are breaded, fried crispy, and then drizzled with a tangy sweet-hot sauce before being dusted gently with golden tangy wing dust. Visitors rave about the authentic Chicago-style wings made with love and dedication. Customers are willing to travel from different parts of the city just to savor LoRell's delicious wings and tenders.
One of the best fried chicken places in Portland is, surprisingly, in the Lloyd Center food court. This place cooks the chicken to order so it’ll be hot and crispy when you get it. The hot honey is a tasty vinegary hot sauce. The mild sauce is a bbq flavor. If you don’t mind eating in an empty food court, check this place out.

Wow I just found out about Lorells and had to give them a try. Let's just say I wasn't disappointed. First of all the fries were some of the best fries I've ever had. I feel like I always need to dunk my fries in Ketchup or ranch, but I literally devoured all of mine without any condiments!! Soooo good. The wings are delicious as well! They don't skimp on the portion size and the flavor and batter is delightful! I got the two piece wings with fries and I'm stuffed!! The owner is super nice! Happy Birthday Lorell!

Hands-down, the best chicken I’ve ever had in my entire life. Worth a trip if you’re out of town go to the Lloyd center, I Guarantee you will love it. I bought the wing basket and then a chicken strip basket as well 10 full chicken wings a bunch of french fries for $35. I like to eat a ton of food. I couldn’t eat it all myself. The kids tore up the tender basket. All white chicken breast tenders. Truly amazimg

Here’s the thing, the chicken really is the best fried chicken I have had in Portland and I consider myself well versed. I recommend the whole wings with extra sauce on side so you can enjoy the crisp coating (perfect amount by the way almost like Korean Fried chicken in the beautiful and satisfying crunch). The tendes were also fantastic and I think in and out could take a lesson on fresh cut fries. Overall great experience and worth a trip to the Lloyd center even on a sunny days. Stoopid burger is also there doing what they do best in a 50’s diner setting which is a bit surreal when your are used to the original location. Grab some wings, some fries some burgers, enjoy the future Tonya Hardings in action and support fantastic local products.

Str8 up, the food was off the chain. The chicken had mad flavor in it. The fries and chicken was cooked to perfection! Everything was hot and fresh. I had the Hot Honey Flex Basket. Situated on Port Comfort Road, Lighthouse Restaurant & Bar is a charming waterfront establishment renowned for its unique fried chicken dishes. Boasting a spacious dining lounge and an expansive patio, it offers the ideal setting for savoring traditional American cuisine in a warm and inviting atmosphere. The restaurant's rich history dates back to 1886 when it served as the First U.S. National Bank before transforming into various other businesses.
This is a great spot for food after mountain biking at Rocky Point! Check it out. Parking out front so you can keep an eye on your bike or there's a patio for the side lot. We had draft beers and ciders, the service was awesome, food was fast and delicious, prices are great, everything was very clean, and we will be back!

The food was excellent. We were told that it was the busiest Tuesday they have ever experienced. Our waiter was very friendly and he explained that due to the traffic back up this evening, they got swamped. We had to ask a few times for our drinks. He even asked if he had forgotten anything, of which we informed him that we had not received our drinks or clam chowder. One clam chowder arrived after we received our entrees. Then the sodas and ice tea arrived, another reminder about the second order of chowder being missing, but it never arrived. We informed a lady who had delivered our meals earlier, and she appeared to have her purse in hand and snarkily replied, "Sorry, I'm leaving for the night. You will have to ask your waiter." It was just a busy night, I guess. Return visit...8/17/24 Today, we had the best server who made excellent recommendations for our lunch selections. I went with a special benedict with avocado, tomatoes, and Hollendaise, plus hashbrowns. My friend went with the country benedict, which is a buttermilk biscuit, sausage gravy, fried chicken, poached eggs, more gravy, and is served with hashbrowns. All very good. I bumped my rating back up to 5 stars.

Clean and friendly. We look forward to returning for their dinner menu as soon as we have the chance.

This unpretentious gem offers an inviting atmosphere where you can enjoy hearty burgers, crispy fried chicken served by the bucket, and delicious wings. My first time here. Came with a friend for "a" beer. Had a couple tasty IPA' s. Checked out the patio area...very groovy and cozy....didn't order food so they get 5 stars.. loll. Cool place overall. Pretty big, pretty old. Looks like a fairly good selection of beer and wine. Some video poker i see (About 6 machines i think. I don't play).

A cool neighborhood bar that serves some good fried chicken and wings. The interior is clean and there are plenty of tvs with sports playing in the background. We ordered some wings, fried chicken, and a grilled cheese and tomato soup to eat. The person taking our order at the bar was pretty nice and patient while we figured out what we wanted. The grilled cheese and tomato soup was pretty simple. The wings were good and the fried chicken had a good crunchy exterior, but nice and moist inside. I do want to come here next time for happy hour.

This place has been through a lot of changes over the years, it used to be a lot divier which was honestly kind of part of its charm but got a reno a couple years ago and they’re going for more of a sports bar vibe these days which is kind of nice but honestly I kind of miss the slightly sketchier feel of Old Georges 😂 Consistently though, they have had through all their phases a really killer burger (one of the best in town IMO) and crispy fries, good ranch, good BBQ sauce. Sooooo many places have disappointingly soggy fries and this is not one of them. Really solid bar food. Always. Crispy. Fries. Consistently delicious. Also right off the max line and plenty of parking in the lot next door. The impossible burger is a little pricey at $17 but does come with a side

Restaurant
Toki Restaurant is a delightful Korean eatery that brings a modern twist to traditional flavors. Nestled in the heart of downtown Portland, this vibrant spot is known for its creative menu featuring bibimbap, dumplings, and an innovative bao burger. Toki also offers a unique brunch experience with dishes inspired by popular TikTok trends, such as the Taco Bell-style brunch wrap and kimchi fried omurice topped with a tornado egg.
Came back the next day to have their dalgona coffee, everything is delicious!! Brunch and dinner menu slightly different but not by too much. 4.3/5 I personally really love the omurice!! I think their sauce are good! Overall delicious, but I would say the portion is slightly on the smaller end of the scale compared to their pricing. But would I come back again? Absolutely🤤 (their staffs are super nice too) The only reason why I wouldn’t give full 5 stars is because it’s good, but not impressive if you know what I mean lol Also, street parking is SUPER HARD to find downtown, I would suggest come early or weekdays for easier parking

Modern Korean restaurant with disappointing food and service. We came for brunch on a Friday. Despite being only one of 3 tables in the restaurant, they forgot to put in our drinks order (which they apologized for and comped) and then never picked up the check, while all the servers were chatting in the back. Food was decently flavorful and well presented (for brunch) but 2 of 3 dishes were overcooked. The omurice egg was perfectly soft but the kimchi rice below it was mushy. The scallion waffle had a great soy maple sauce but the waffle was dry and crunchy.

Enjoyable meal and welcoming atmosphere on a chilly evening. We had a vegetarian in our group of four and she loved everything. We appreciated that we could order the fried chicken and swap out one wing for a piece of fried cauliflower for her. Everyone is fresh and light. It’s like elevated Korean comfort food. We would love to try brunch.

A great spot for Korean fried chicken or little sandwiches. The staff were all very kind, though a bit slow. The food itself was well priced and very tasty. I recommend this spot and look forward to going back to try out a few more menu items. Update* I went back and definitely recommend the happy hour for the fries and rolls which were fantastic.

Chicken wings were really good but every other dish was absolutely off. The dumplings had this flavor that I just can’t understand and the hand pulled noodles dish was beyond off. Everything kinda Tasted the same with this weird Indian flavor and maybe some people like this but in my opinion as a Asian trained chef this place killed me. On the way to have a second dinner at the moment. If I was this shop I would stick to the wings and the chicken sandwich. I haven’t tried anything else. Oh and our experience with the waitress was absolutely worthy of a twilight zone episode. Place is cool. People are friendly. I’d only come Back for the fried chicken and the sandwich.

We loved everything we ordered. The bibimbap was my fave with crisped rice with beets and pork. We also ordered pork belly. It was still sizzling when it was brought to the table. The staff were attentive and multiple people checked on us during our meal.

Really lovely food and atmosphere. We popped in for a quick lunch on a Saturday and were seated right away. Everything we ordered was fantastic. We finished off with the mochi butter cake and it was phenomenal. One of the best meals I’ve had in awhile and i love that there were a few vegetarian options! It would be so cool to see an impossible beef bao bun on the menu! 😎

Absolutely delicious food!!! We got the toki breakfast with steak, the sweet fried chicken sandwich, and the vegetarian brunchwrap supreme. Highly recommend the sweet fried chicken sandwich, so delicious. Prices were reasonable too!!! Edit: have bumped toki down to 3 stars after my second visit. Service was incredibly slow. I waited for 40 minutes for my food before giving up and canceling my food to go eat at the sandwich shop up the street. Really dissapointing. Toki's food is absolutely delicious if you can actually get it😮‍💨

Food court
The Zipper is a lively food court located at 2707 NE Sandy, offering a variety of dining options and entertainment. One of its popular tenants is ChickPeaDX, which started as a food cart and later expanded into a brick-and-mortar micro-restaurant within The Zipper building. The menu features mouth-watering falafel made from fresh Washington chickpeas, along with other vegetarian and vegan options such as salads, bowls, and dips.
We love this place. It's one of our favorite go-to joints in Portland. With 4 different food court choices, from friend chicken to pizza to Korean and Tacos, you really can't go wrong. Grab a beer from Pay Dirt, then pick your food of choice, and then sit either inside at one of the large tables or sit under the covered patio next to gas fire pits. Bus your own tables, which means pick up after yourself. This place is a great place to meet friends and take none locals to show them another cool venue in Portland. Parking can be difficult, so part on the side street.

amazing bar with good beer, selection and amazing cocktails, especially if you like whiskey and an old-fashioned. Lots of really solid food spots. My favorite chicken sandwich, great vermicelli bowls and bahn mi sandwiches. The tacos and burritos are great too.

09/28/16: 4.5 out of 5 - Wednesday running group wanted try something different so we decided to go to The Zipper. Here we were enchanted by Basilisk. The menu is simple and the food is tasty and the staff were nice. What more can one ask for. What was amazing was how evenly the chicken was cooked. The seasoning was excellent and the chicken was moist. The slaw was good but a little messy. So try this place out once and decide for yourself. This was a winner for all of us.

Very cool place with a bunch of different places to eat and outdoor seating with fire pits. The chicken sandwich was probably the best thing we had. Ramen was kind of bland. The bimBipbap smelled sooo good, but it was bland tasting too which was a little disappointing. Also tried the burrito from the Mexican place which wasn’t that great.

Guests can enjoy craft cocktails like the Tamarind Fuego and Mela Morta, along with dishes such as fried broccoli and crispy lemon slices.
Small place with great service. The bartender was very friendly and attentive. The food tasted amazing and was served quickly. We asked for a non alcoholic drink off the menu and they surprised us with a great drink as well. Some of the best music I've heard at a restaurant in a long time too!

Restaurant was super clean, open kitchens are always rad and it’s fun to watch the chefs work. Staff was friendly and recommended various drinks to us, all of which were fantastic. Where it fell short for me was the food, the deviled eggs all you could taste is the bacon vs the seasonings you’d come to look forward to. When the fried chicken came out it wasn’t juicy at all and I only found myself enjoying the skin, once again under seasoned here as well. Maybe it was just an off night? Not sure, but left very underwhelmed.

Delicious brunch! We kinda took over with our party of 10 on a Saturday morning, but we were sat right away and treated to a delicious breakfast. Their staff was really strong which made for great service. We had gf and vegetarians in the family but everyone found something they were excited about on the menu. I went with the breakfast sandwich and got a side of their house made hot sauce, DELICIOUS! Plates were cleaned and drinks finish as everyone agreed it was a bright, tasty, well cook brunch. Wish we lived in town so we could come back again!

Chimcking is a South Korean franchise that opened an outpost in Beaverton and later added a location in the Hollywood district. The menu features Korean fried chicken, cheesy ddukbokki, and Korean beer. Customers recommend trying the half-and-half plate of spicy and soy-garlic wings along with a Hite beer. While parking can be challenging, the delicious and authentic Korean-style chicken makes it worth the visit.
Chicken was flavorful and not overly breaded which I love. King rice good twist on the side. Interior fine for a quick lunch but nothing to seek out. I am very weak when it comes to spicy food but the soy garlic chicken was delicious, king rice was spicy for me. For those spice lovers out there, yes you can make fun of me for how pathetic I am.

This is my new favorite Korean fried chicken spot. Chicken is perfectly crispy, and the level of spice in their standard hot gochujang sauce is just right. I stopped in for lunch today and can’t wait to bring my family in for dinner.

This is my first time eating here. I just ordered the Rice King with Garlic Soy Chicken. Just a heads up - there was no actual chicken in the bowl - just fry batter. I don't think I've ever left a bad review for a restaurant, but this is the worst "chicken" I've had in Portland. Do yourselves a favor and get fried birds literally anywhere else.
Lew — Google review
I had avoided this place because of sticker shock from the platters. But I’ve been trying chicken wings all over and had never been here. The skin on their wings is so thick and crispy! I got the soy garlic wings, and it was like eating candy. Six wings, a mound of sticky rice, a small plastic container of radish and a 12-ounce IPA ran me $16. I go to Hollywood Theatre a lot and will definitely be stopping here again! They have an interesting packaged ramen section I want to try as well.
Edward S — Google review
The cashier (Bridgette) was very friendly and helpful. I have an allergy to pepper and she was able to help me find menu items that were not marinated overnight in what is likely a delicious marinade that I am unable to try. The popcorn Chicken was very flavorful, the spring rolls were delicious, and I really enjoyed the Orchard Pacific Berry beer they had on tap. The popcorn Chicken came with some pickled radish that was really good as well. They have a wide selection of Ramen that I plan to bring my son to try out. He will have to tell me how good the over night marinated chicken is as well. Everything I tried was very good and the meal was affordable. I will definitely return and will bring my family next time.

The food was amazing! Super crispy, juicy chicken with a soy garlic sauce that avoids being too sweet! For a side I got the king rice, which had seaweed and sesame oil, and highly recommend getting that if you want rice with your meal over fries. Service was helpful and pleasant and I loved sitting and watching Sailor moon while I ate! I was super hungry and forgot to take a picture of my meal, but here’s a pic of my takeout container because the portions were super generous and I had to take some home!

OldschoolDOS — Google review
Really disappointing experience. We showed up 30 minutes before closing to place a simple to-go order, only to be told they don’t take any orders that close to closing time. If that’s your policy, fine — but be honest and adjust your hours. Don’t waste people’s time and then act like we’re the problem for showing up during your posted business hours. Super unprofessional and frustrating. Won’t be coming back. Update What made it worse was the owner’s patronizing response, blaming “most restaurants” for also stopping service early—which simply isn’t true. Many restaurants take orders right up to their listed closing time or at least make that policy clear upfront. Hiding behind vague industry claims and blaming slow business isn’t an excuse for poor customer service or false advertising. If you’re going to stop serving before your listed hours, own it—don’t gaslight customers or shift blame. Unprofessional, dishonest, and frustrating.

Twozone Chicken is a popular Korean fried chicken chain that has made its way to the United States, with locations in Northwest Portland and North Williams. The restaurant's specialty is double-fried chicken, resulting in an extra crispy texture, which is then coated in a variety of flavorful sauces such as honey butter or bulgogi. Customers have raved about the delicious food and friendly staff, with some even discovering the restaurant through social media platforms like TikTok.
Our Twozone experience was wonderful. Food was super tasty. Staff we very kind. My kiddos loved the Korean hot dogs. They tried the half and half. I had a Tofu Rice Bowl. Tofu was crunchy and honey spicy. Rice was cooked well with other garnishments. We will be going back! Go by yourself, take a date or your family! Recommended!

We got the bulgogi wings, the sweet and spicy wings, and the soy and garlic wings. All the wings were very tasty. Love them. We also got two rice balls and pickled radish. The radish was a bit too perky, but otherwise good. The rice balls were not good, IMO. Seems like they were going for a new take on Bau, but the execution/taste wasn't there. The potato dog. No words can describe the majesty of the potato dog. Take a corn dog, roll it in potatoes, and then mash it up with a churro. Absolutely decadent. I'll definitely be back to try the other flavors of the wings and dogs. *UPDATE 07/15/25* They no longer have the bulgogi wings which is a shame as it was a favorite for our family. They now have a Cheese & Onion flavor which I was NOT a fan of. Honestly it tasted like a mayonnaise and cheese sauce with an emphasis on the mayo, like a five to one ratio. Would not recommend not will we order that flavor again.

Review: 2 Stars I recently tried this ramen spot on a whim while driving by. The place looked clean, and the staff were friendly, so I had high hopes. I ordered the shrimp with bacon ramen and added eggs and corn, which brought the total to about $18. Unfortunately, the dish was disappointing. They added mussels to the ramen (not listed on the menu), and the shrimp was served with the shell still on, which made it awkward to eat. For a better experience, they really need to remove the shells from the shrimp and stick with the ingredients listed on the menu. The flavor was just off, and I wouldn’t recommend this dish as it is. Absolute disappointment

Hey there Foodies!! I ordered the wings. I wandered in waiting for my tire service to be completed. Anywho, people they are huge!!! Unless you like crispy outside and super moist inside… then you’ll be happy. Personally, I like to eat mine without looking and picking over the part of meat I eat. I sent them back to request well done as I requested upon ordering the first time. The owner was kind enough to send them back and monitored the process. After 3 check in’s … these wings were cooked to perfection. Us soulful people love our wings to be cooked all thee wayyyy through. Now, if you’re looking for those good ol’ crispy well done wings… please ask this kind establishment to cook them traditionally well well well done. Save time and add quality to your overall experience. I saw he that the owner was quietly annoyed and didn’t bother to check on me. But it’s all good. It’s a one n done for me. It’s so important to value your customers theses days. It’s hard out here for small businesses. 🫶🏽

Visiting from Texas and been trying many places around Portland! This was definitely a good stop! The gentleman that took our order was very patient and polite as we thought about our orders. He helped us move tables together and was kind all around! The atmosphere was great. Clean and well kept, felt inviting and safe. Food was good, nothing spectacular and definitely not a ramen bar but we came for the chicken. My friends were happy with their chicken and I had the basic corn dog, also very good. Would come again!

Located only a few blocks from my Airbnb, I thought it would be worth a try as it's menu is all about Ramen and Rice Bowls and of course the Chicken. I ordered the Tofu Rice Bowl and loved it. The base is a white rice with what seemed like a cabbage slaw, corn and the breaded fried tofu which was the highlight. There was a spicy sauce that seemed like just the right amount of flavor. Fantastic rice bowl.
Jamie W — Google review
The service was the best part of my experience. The ramen (I ordered vegetarian) was not good. They use noodles from a bag you get at the store. The veggies they added to the soup was chopped up lettuce and corn — I paid too much money for a poorly executed meal. My partner got a “potato hot dog” asked for cheese to be added to it.. instead of doing half cheese and half hot dog, they only added cheese to it. Overall the food was awful. I don’t recommend. I’m sorry.
Rachel G — Google review
Finally able to check out this place for lunch. I like the variety of items that they have. We ordered a good amount of food to share between the three of us. We ordered the 20 piece jumbo wings (soy garlic, bulgogi, and hot & spicy), potato dog, cheese dog, bulgogi rice bowl, and Philly cheesesteak sandwich. My favorite was definitely the Philly cheesesteak sandwich. It was amazingly good. The wings were nice and big in size with really good flavors (it could be a bit more crispy). The bulgogi bowl was a bit bland (in my opinion). I liked the potato dog. Overall, cool place and well need to try the ramen option next time.

Customers can find an assortment of items ranging from everyday essentials like milk, butter, and produce to cold medicine, gloves, and beanies. The store is known for its hot bar food, particularly the massive pieces of fried chicken available alongside typical convenience store items. Run by Mr.
I visited Portland for over 2 months and Cullen‘s Corner quickly became my Corner store of choice. I can’t say enough good things about Lee and his corner store. He’s not only one of the kindest people you’ll ever meet, but he also goes out of his way to get to know his customers and build real connections. He’s funny, warm, and always ready to help. The store itself is everything you could want in a neighborhood shop—whether you need snacks, drinks, food, medicine, or anything in between, Lee’s got it. And if by chance he doesn’t, he’ll do his best to find it and stock it for you. It’s rare to find a place (and a person) this thoughtful and reliable.

What a great little ‘BIG’ store in our neighborhood! Lee,Tanny and their son Paul own & operate this friendly, well stocked gem of a store! (Every now and then you may walk in & hear someone singing- that is Paul who treats us now & then with his beautiful singing voice!). When you come in- even if you have been coming for awhile- just take a minute to look around & you will be pleasantly surprised at all they carry- including a very handy ATM! They have a great beer & wine selection plus ciders, energy drinks & juice. They carry Dairy-milk,yogurt, sour cream & cottage cheese. They have quite the selection of fresh produce-avocados,tomatoes, potatoes & onions. nice bananas & usually apples & oranges for a quick healthy snack or to toss in a lunch box. In their cooler you will also find sandwiches, lettuce, lunch meat, cheeses, bell peppers, jalapeños,cabbage, mushrooms & once we get near summer- expect cucumbers & zucchini too! They have a large selection of chips & you will find different flavored dips & salsa in their cooler. All day they keep their food warmer stocked with perfectly cooked chicken strips, chicken & jojos & spring rolls-yes! every day! They are my regular stop during the week when I want a friendly face & a chat and don’t want a busy/crowded grocery store. I buy quaker oatmeal & brown sugar, Charmin Ultra Soft toilet paper & Mike’s Cranberry Hard Cider- so much more & They sell butter by the cube too if you don’t need the whole box!! They carry frozen foods too- like Ice Cream & pizza for one & Stouffer’s frozen lasagna is a regular favorite of mine too. The dry essentials like foil, paper towels, toilet paper, soaps, diapers- & much, much more-stuff needed for barbecue-it’s all here & all so reasonably priced! They are open when most places are not -like during this pandemic and when we have severe weather-snow & ice events because they know we need them-they are essential to our community & I am so happy they are here. For dinner, they offer Vietnamese American comfort food like beef stir fry with fries and pork belly in ginger-fish sauce.
One of my favourite food carts in Portland! Everything on their brunch/lunch/dinner menu is A+ in our book. The pandan donut is amazingly fluffy and the burgers are delish. Stoked they’ve moved to the Central Eastside so we can just walk on over to get our Matta fix anytime.

This is a hidden gem! If you love hip, and fusion food, this is your place. The food pod might change they way you look at the Vietnamese food. We walked in for lunch, and the courtyard has many other food carts. It was pretty packed, although we got a place to sit. The menu options were not much. We ordered a fried chicken burger with green papaya inside. The buns are the house speciality with a hint of green! I think they have a name for it. The food was amazing! It was fresh and piping hot. The condiments were all tasty and fresh. I can’t recommend enough. If you are in the neighbourhood, try something from this place.

We got the breakfast bowl, pandan donuts, and pandan burger dish. OMG it taste differently and very unique that we can’t wait to try more! The gravy from breakfast bowl is a bit salty, but once mix up I can’t get enough of its. The donut is at the right level of sweetness, doughy. Last the burger, one of our favorite burger. It has the right level of flavor with the smell of pandan that you can’t find anywhere else in Portland.

Ordered takeout brunch on a Sunday. The food was great. We ordered breakfast bowl and breakfast sando. Gravy was really nice in the bowl and the meat in both dishes was peppery. Really enjoyed the food here. Ordered fried chicken, rice, and fries. Chicken came out crispy and hot. They’re wings so you could order a bunch. The sauces were great. I liked the Buffalo lime the most.

Holy craaaaaaap. These wings were amazing! We ordered a side of spicy rice and side of cauliflower rice as well as all of the sauces. Everything was amazing, I'd get it all again! Can't wait for prey and tell again!!!

Absolutely delicious wings and the sauces are soooo good. My girlfriend and I ordered the Super Bowl package of wings/fries four days ahead of the game and feasted day of. I picked up my order the day of, although I know there were some technical issues on the delivery app side of things, my experience was in and out very quickly and seamless when picking up my order. The wings were very crispy and the Nary Ranch and Lime Leaf Buffalo were a delightfully tasty one two punch combination. If you have not checked them out then now is the time!

Came here on a Sunday night with my boyfriend and I will definitely come again! They had a variety of sauces and a unique, yet simple choices of different types of rice! My boyfriend got the street rice and I got the cutie rice. Be sure to try all their sauces! Our favorite was the lime buffalo! The only flaw I found about the place is that they aren’t open Monday+Tuesday so I can get their crispy goodness everyday!!! Service was amazing. Our food came out fairly quick and we were able to sit outside on the heated patio. The staff were extremely friendly and they always made sure we were alright!

Pretty damn good fried chicken. And sauces. And rice. Only complaint is spicy rice, isn’t.

Best chicken in Portland. Hands down. All of the sauces and rice were so delicious and complimented each other so well. Make sure to try the slushees from the bar too!😋 Can’t wait to go back! 10/10 customer service from an incredibly kind staff. Don’t sleep on this Portland.

I will never order from here again. I’ve never had the food so I can’t speak to it but I just had a terrible ordering experience. So I can speak to customer service. I order wings a week in advance for super bowl Sunday. On the day of (today). I get a call from Grubhub (no even the Resturant) to let me know that they canceled my order due to a scheduling change. I tried to be flexible and offer to work with the new schedule but grubhub told me the aren’t taking anyone’s calls. Grubhub refunded and credited my account but that still leave me scrambling to find wings on super bowl Sunday. This was a real let down and I have a feeling I wasn’t the only one this happened to.

Restaurant
Chicken Little is a hidden gem located in an unassuming corner of NE Glisan. The restaurant shares its space with the Hour Glass Pub, but don't let the exterior fool you - inside, you'll find delicious and fresh fried chicken. Whether you prefer to order a whole bird or by the piece, Chicken Little offers great value at $1.50 per wing. Customers rave about the juicy and crispy chicken sandwiches and generous portions of Jojos (quartered potatoes).
Hot, fresh and yummy chicken. Great slaw, and fries. Everything looked great coming out of the kitchen. Great friendly bar with comfortable booths. Doesn't look as nice on the outside as inside. The place is spotless and the cleanest bathrooms in Portland. I can't wait to go back. I have driven by here countless times and finally stopped. The best!!

Ordered 135 dollars worth of food to take out. The lady brought me my food, I said thank you so much, and she angerly said I should tip and walked away. First of all, I paid 135 dollars at your ok establishment. Could've spent that somewhere else. And next time I will. Secondly, the chicken is okay at best. Not good enough to get rude service.
John R — Google review
I ordered a chicken sandwich to go, sat there for 30 minutes and had one soda. I was told 10 more minutes. I never even received my food. I walked out. It shouldn't take 40 minutes to make a single sandwich. Plus this bar is NOT LGBTQIA friendly. I was treated rudely and all the customers there glared at me. I will not go back and will not recommend it!!!
Milo D — Google review
Jojos were just a quartered potato fried and not breaded, two of them were green inside (like the potato had been green). Mac salad was ok. Jalapeño poppers good to fine. Chicken varied - the drums were slimy and tasted a little fishy and were pretty oily (we couldn't eat them). The wings/thigh pieces were good to fine, the breast was okay but dry. Would not go back but could be fine bar food. Was a slow night so maybe they were off their game.

If you’re looking for broasted chicken (remember the Pink Feather?) well Chicken little/ hour glass pub and eatery is it. The most tender, moist white meat you’ll ever find. Why? Because they do such a business w their chicken it’s always fresh. Their jo jo’s are the real thing and the ranch dressing out of this world.
Merrilee — Google review
I ate a delicious crispy chicken sandwich. The chicken was cooked correctly and was plenty juicy, though the bun fell apart due to its softness so perhaps lightly grilling it would keep it together . The accompanied Jojos were very large -- like a quartered potato lengthwise — i liked their taste and texture but the skins fell off. Overall, a solid sandwich but i think i’ll switch to tatter tots next time. Worth checking out.

Some of the best and crispiest best fried chicken you can get in Portland. SUPER hot, so don't scald yourself when you get it in the car. I've eaten here for years, and tonight we're getting some to go to take to a concert in the park in Happy Valley. I guess we'll see how well it travels, but as a rule plan to eat in their bar.

My new favorite spot to get chicken from. Good price for a good amount of chicken. Great flavor and hot and fresh.
