New American restaurant
Restaurant
Nestled in the upscale Mount Tabor neighborhood, Coquine is a comfortable fine-dining restaurant with a cozy corner kitchen that offers farm-to-table New American dinners and casual cafe fare during the day. Chef Katy Millard's sustainable and seasonable approach to her craft reflects in the hushed, adult atmosphere of this historic building.
Visiting Portland for the first time and we are glad that we came here for the tasting menu. The spring theme was notable throughout (maybe a bit too much green). The veggies and mushrooms were really a standout (maybe too earthy for some). It may not be a crowd pleaser but we absolutely loved everything. Plating could be better though :)
Robert M — Google review
Incredible dinner at Coquine. The service was amazing and attentive all night. It’s a quaint restaurant and you’ll love it. Their menu changes every season. We had the cucumber salad, the asparagus, and the half chicken. The chicken takes about 45 to cook and plate be patient. The half chicken is more than enough for 2 people.

I have been in Portland for a minute now and you have to appreciate what it takes to make it as a restaurant. Coquine made it through the pandemic, and came out stronger. The food is phenomenal. If her food was a person, it would be someone you would cuddle up to in a cold winter night and tell secrets to. Somehow after eating, you feel lighter. Tonight was just something else. Shout out to front of the house folks for making this a seamless experience. I wish I could do this again and again
Jasmyni D — Google review
Wonderful romantic and intimate dining experience. Incredibly attentive and caring staff. Felt old school like taking our coats at the door and folding up our napkins if we stood up to use the restroom. We ordered the beet salad, pork osso buco and the duck breast. The salad was kindly split into two despite ordering one order which was a lovely unexpected service style. All were magnificent
Paula V — Google review
Omg. I would dine here any chance I can get. They understand everything about fine dining. Everything. Go for the chefs tasting menu. Mind blown. It was supposed to be 5 courses, but it ended up 7. Every little bit was amazing. The chef even came by at the end of the meal to check in and offer us a choice from a wonderful treats tray! An arrangement of sweets, so hard to choose. I included the photo of my favorite item, but then I forgot to photo the rest because I was getting brain fog from the amazing food. So good!!!
Nocolate N — Google review
Beautiful small restaurant. Every dish was delicious. The fig leaf ice cream was amazing. The staff is very attentive. Very relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommend checking out Chef Katy Millard cuisine!
Doreen F — Google review
For dessert, make sure to ask to see the options on the Candy Tray. Otherwise they may skip showing you and you'll miss out!!! The place is very cute inside. The staff is attentive as well. The cucumber salad was amazing, seriously delicious. Just the aroma when they put the plate down was mouth watering. The bread, again, was amazing. The angolotti was scrumptious. The spinach and walnuts added so much flavor and texture. Wish we'd gotten 2 plates! The roasted chicken was good. It was cooked perfectly, had a crunchy skin and was juicy. The standouts on the plate were the sides though. I would happily eat an entire serving of those sides. Truly five star. For dessert we had the mara des bois strawberries. It was great. We got chocolate chip cookies, but didn't know to ask to see the Tray and missed out on all those options. The table next to us and ourselves were disappointed to see another table get shown the desserts in the Tray after we'd finished our meals. If it was up to my wife, she'd have knocked off a star for that sin. Some of the options on the Tray looked good...
T F — Google review
While the food, wine and cocktails are all amazing, the service is exceptional! In a quiet neighborhood, great atmosphere and the best service we ever had after the pandemic. The server, she is always attentive, looking out for us and suggesting wines and cocktails that go well with the food. My partner and I had a great dinner here and Coquine definitely plays an important role making our Portland/Oregon trip memorable.

Ken's Artisan Bakery is a beloved local spot known for its fresh baked goods and French bistro offerings. The bakery offers a bustling, counter-serve setup where customers can enjoy an array of delectable treats. One standout item is the mini chocolate caramel croissant, which boasts a perfect balance of sweetness from the caramel and rich chocolate flavor.
All their baked goods are delicious. I used to go all the time when I lived in the neighborhood. It’s a true local gem. Now I make sure to stop by whenever I’m in Portland. Their sandwiches are amazing and the seasonal tarts are to die for. The strawberry tart tastes like heaven. I love Ken’s artisan bakery!❤️🍓🥖❤️

It's very close to the Washington Park and I walked in from the park. There are maybe bakeries to choose from. I like palmier so I ordered the one. It's the last one. Amazingly good. Both coffee and bakeries are reasonably priced and the staff are very kind and helpful. There are long table 8 and small round tables for two people. Big window and old fashion interior. I love here.
Nan L — Google review
This bakery has been on my favorites for a while and I finally got around to trying it. It definitely lived up to my expectations. I got the seasonal vegetable quiche and it was soo good. My friend and I both got the Oregon croissant which was delicious. The ingredients and bread here are so fresh. You walk in and it smells amazing. However, it was definitely busy and had a line around 9:30am but I would wait for another pastry here anytime.
Emma K — Google review
TLDR; amazing tarts, may probably have to take it to go since tables might not be available We came in late in the afternoon and just got a small mocha, an apple tart and a chocolate hazelnut tart between the two of us. We did get lucky enough to get a table because someone left as soon as we ordered but the place was absolutely FULL when we arrived! The coffee is nice - not too sweet (which is always an issue with mochas), not acidic, super smooth. Love that they have an 8oz size! The tarts were delicious too - I did like the apple tart more than the chocolate hazelnut (which surprised me) - the apple almond combination really was what did it for me! The chocolate one is still pretty nice too- again, not too sweet, very rich with a hint of bitterness. The crust on both was really good - broke easily, not dry, not soggy.
Pooja C — Google review
We had lunch here at noon on July 26. The almond croissant and apricot tart were both tasty. My partner said his sandwich, Ken's hero, was quite good as well. I didn't see any flies, but I saw some dust around the A/C. Everything else looked clean.
Bon B — Google review
The baked goods and food is delicious!!! we got the vegetable and bacon quiche, as well as a carrot cake, some type of bread that had goat cheese and leeks in it, and two coffees. My coffee was called something ay laite with homemade vanilla and oat milk in it. It was delicious and then we took it next-door to the bookstore and red ball. We hung out. It was absolutely lovely. I highly recommend. Also the Customer Service was very nice and everyone there seemed friendly has a nice welcoming vibe.
Izzy A — Google review
We stopped in for a quick lunch, and got a sandwich, soup, and pastry. Sandwich was good, but the highlight was definitely the bread and the pastry we ordered. The baked goods definitely seemed to be a step above the rest, which is what you would expect. Worth a visit if you're in the neighborhood. Definitely a local haunt if you live nearby. Overall 7.3/10.
Seth M — Google review
Here is a memory from my breakfast visit to Ken’s. A lady beside me is taking notes from a science book she is reading. A woman on the long table was crying, freshly wounded by the disclosure of a disappointment. Her two friends huddled her for comfort. My mother in front of me, looking radiant in the morning light while we slowly make our way through the goats cheese and leek croissant and the Oregon croissant whose tart filling perfectly encapsulate the chilly fresh air I breathed in my days here. A cup of mocha that is rich and whose vanilla bean fragrance wafts. Lines that snake to the entrance of people eagerly waiting for their pastries. It was nothing but warmth. And just like that, my morning is made.

Coffee shop
Courier Coffee is a cozy spot that serves espresso drinks and pour-overs using house-roasted, single-origin beans. Located at 923 SW Oak St., it's known for its fresh beans and bike repair advice. The place embodies Portland's DIY spirit and environmentalism, conducting business and deliveries by bicycle, serving drinks in mason jars, hand-stamping labels and menus, playing vinyl on the stereo, making vegan granola bars, and offering detailed information about their single-origin beans.
This place is an absolute GEM. Their pastries are right out of the oven, and the coffee is so good. The vibe makes you feel like you are at home, as if you've been in this place for a lifetime. Easily one of the best coffee spots in Portland .
Badarau C — Google review
Courier is a “destination” coffee shop. The pastry selection is limited, but unique and fresh-baked on the spot everyday. The shop is operated by spouses, one sees to the coffee side, the other to the Japanese food. Eclectic ambiance, with vinyl music coming from a turntable on the counter. Expect a short line to order and a wait for the limited seating on weekends, but it’s worth it. They roast beans daily (off site, but locally.) Courier is a landmark institution that Portlanders were happy to see survive COVID through innovation and initiative.
PappaJohn F — Google review
I wish I could drink the cappuccinos Kate makes every day. Perfectly balanced, perfect foam, perfect size. Paired with one of the house pastries, it’s an entirely delicious experience. Such a Portland staple and the vibes and drinks are as good as ever. Roast their own beans too!
Ashley C — Google review
Very classic coffee menu that’s reminiscent of coffee bars in Italy. My latte was rich and creamy, although the espresso tasted quite bitter and a little burnt to me. I do want to give this place another try and hopefully get some pastries too.
Snacking S — Google review
My first time at Courier Coffee was an absolutely delightful experience that was made even better by the beautiful, sunny day. Their coffee is the most unique I've tried in Portland, I've never tasted anything else like it. Alongside their amazing coffee, there's pastry options to pair making this is a great spot to relax. The service was absolutely amazing and everything I got was 10/10. I highly recommend everyone in Portland to give this place a try, I'll be back!
Nathan B — Google review
I come Courier coffee when I come downtown, but I feel like the coffee has lost flavor, probably because of a change in baristas. The barista's latte art was totally inept, and it made me feel like I had wasted my money. The clerk who is always there isn't very friendly either. I think I will go to a different coffee shop in the future. It's too bad because I liked the coffee here....
ブルーカー利江 — Google review
This is BY FAR the best coffee/espresso in Portland. We visited once, and came back everyday. He roasts his own beans and makes all the pastry in house. Pastry is dead on, not too sweet, and flavorful. The interior is quintessential millennium rustic, clean, and fresh (flowers on table, record player in background). You will do yourself a disservice if you do not come here. BTW check my other review I NEVER give 5 stars across the board...this place deserves it.
David M — Google review
Absolutely the best coffee in the area. The milk was properly foamed and the espresso was perfectly extracted. Even though it opens at 9 it’s worth waiting to get your espresso drinks here.

Little T American Baker is a charming bakery known for its artisanal bread, delectable pastries, and gourmet sandwiches. The owner and head baker, Tim Healea, infuses his creations with passion and expertise, resulting in accolades for his outstanding baked goods. The cozy outpost in the Union Way market hall offers a warm and inviting atmosphere to enjoy their delightful treats. Customers rave about the friendly staff and recommend arriving early to ensure you don't miss out on their popular items.
I've been coming here for years but had a little hiatus before returning recently. They've always been adventurous in their baking approach & flour choices but right now I think they're at their height of flavor and skill. Beautiful lamination, thoughtful seasonal specials, and I appreciate that they offer both baked goods and substantial & delicious breakfast and lunch options. A treat!
Amy F — Google review
This is becoming one of my favorite bakeries in the city!🫶🏼 Great variety of baked goods. I love how they source the best quality ingredients from small local brands like Ranger Chocolate Co. and Jacobsen Salt which makes their products taste extra special✨. The croissant is tender, flaky, and buttery; the brownie is soft and rich; the coffee cake is hearty and indulgent; and the peanut brittle cookie is crispy, chewy and addictive! I‘ve been here twice so far and loved everything I ordered except for the coffee (from Puff) which tastes burnt. Will be back for breads and pretty much every other pastry 👌🏼
Snacking S — Google review
I really want to love this bakery because their rustic bread is excellent — when it’s available. Unfortunately, every time I visit, usually around 9-10 AM (a time when it’s supposed to be ready), they’re consistently out of it. What’s most disappointing isn’t just that the bread isn’t ready, but that the staff never make an effort to check when it will be available. Instead of simply walking a few steps to the back or giving an estimate, they just say, “It’s not out yet.” On several occasions, I’ve had to ask multiple people to get even the smallest bit of information. When you ask for something and they give you something else and you go back and return it, they don’t even say simple “ Excuse Me” nor a word of apology. Good customer service isn’t just about having great products — it’s about taking that extra step to help customers. I don’t expect miracles, just a bit of initiative or communication. When I’ve tried to express my frustration, it’s been brushed off, as if I’m the problem for asking. This could easily be a five-star experience if the staff took a little more care to keep customers informed and valued. I hope management pays attention, because the bread really is worth coming for — if only the service matched the quality of the baking. I honestly hope that this place will close their doors to walk-in traffic and continue selling wholesale to other places in town like Providore Food where you interact with more professional and customer service focuced staff.
Claudel 2 — Google review
Hands down the best quality bread in the Portland metro area. It reminds me of what you get at good bakeries in Germany. Two things: 1. Provide reusable (for here) plates, cups, and utensils 2. Open up a downtown Vancouver (WA) location!!
Jason C — Google review
The best baguette outside of France! I don't know how they do it, but these have the wonderful taste and texture of genuine French bread that doesn't dry out overnight. My only wish is that the bakery was open past 2pm at least one day a week, pretty please?! It's so difficult to get to the wonderful bread and other baked delights with such restricted daytime hours.
Clair F — Google review
Bread is excellent , however baguettes are *always* burnt. Pastries are good. The glass case where pastries are displayed almost always have flies around it. Not a good thing in the food industry. An enclosed glass case to prevent that wouldn’t be a bad idea. Service is awful, the male employees are unprofessional and rude. Everyone can have a bad day, but when their bad attitude happens often and with different staff, something needs to be done.
Raisa L — Google review
Delicious pastries and Chai tea! Busy area so not a quiet spot, but a good spot for a quick stop or low key catch up or work meeting. And the service was great!

Restaurant
Cafe Olli, a charming all-day cafe located in NE Portland, is known for serving some of the best dishes in the area. The menu features wood-fired pizza perfect for a romantic evening and delightful pastel de nata to enjoy with a cortado during morning emails. Despite its recent opening, this employee-owned restaurant has quickly gained popularity for its locally-sourced seasonal ingredients that shine through their brunch offerings.
Absolutely blown away by the flavors here! Who knew a simple mixed green salad could pack so much flavor? It was the best dish on the menu! Hints of lemon in the salad dressing were so refreshing. Highly recommend the mushroom ricotta pizza, it’s delicious and the perfect size to share between two people. I wish the hot honey was jarred and sold on shelves, it’s too good!
Kim L — Google review
We enjoyed a delicious dinner. We started with the mixed greens salad, had the chitarra, cannelloni and the sausage pizza. The service is excellent. Menu and wine choices are limited so check first before you go. I would definitely return. Enjoy 😊
Tom S — Google review
First time visiting Portland and Cafe Ollie was our very first stop. We flew in and drove straight here for brunch, and it was so worth it! We didn’t have a reservation (though they do offer that option) but we’re seated right away. The service was quick and friendly. The food and drinks were amazing, and every coffee drink we tried was spot on (even the ones that sounded a little wild on the menu turned out delicious). Great vibes, great people and absolutely worth the visit!
Joey H — Google review
I recently had brunch here, and it was a mixed experience. Salmon Toast: The bread was nice and crispy, and the dill added a fresh touch. The flavors were mild, and while it was pleasant, I kept wishing for a little more punch — capers would’ve been a perfect addition to round it out. Salad with Egg: This was underwhelming. The salad itself was fresh but lacked bold flavors, and the egg on top didn’t add much — it felt like an afterthought. I had a tough time tasting the bacon. Steak, Eggs, & Polenta: The steak tasted like a braised chuck cut — tender and flavorful, but not the crispy, seared steak I was hoping for. The eggs were fine but could have used more seasoning. The polenta was decent — creamy and comforting. Bonus: They gave me a free cookie, which was a nice touch. Overall: The service was good and the space was inviting, but the food was not very flavorful. A little more seasoning could really elevate the dishes.

Cafe Olli is a delightful oasis that seamlessly combines a cozy atmosphere with an exceptional dining experience, making it a must-visit for coffee lovers and foodies alike! As you step inside, you’re greeted by a warm ambiance adorned with beautiful decor and comfy seating that invites you to relax and stay awhile. The menu at Cafe Olli is a culinary journey, featuring a diverse selection of artisanal coffees, house-made pastries, and delectable brunch items. Their coffee is expertly brewed, with a range of options that cater to all preferences, from rich espressos to creamy lattes topped with artistic foam designs. Pair your drink with one of their freshly baked croissants or signature pastries for a perfect treat! What sets Cafe Olli apart is its commitment to quality and creativity. Seasonal specials highlight local ingredients, allowing you to experience new flavors with every visit. Their brunch menu, featuring items like gourmet avocado toast and fluffy pancakes, is a crowd favorite that keeps patrons returning for more. The cafe also boasts a vibrant community spirit. Regular events, such as open mic nights and art showcases, create a lively atmosphere where local talent shines. The friendly staff is always ready to recommend your next favorite dish or drink, making every visit feel personal and welcoming. Whether you’re looking for a quiet spot to work, a place to catch up with friends, or simply a delicious meal, Cafe Olli has something for everyone. With its inviting vibe and mouthwatering offerings, it’s no wonder this cafe has become a beloved destination for locals and visitors alike!
Antonio M — Google review
Visited Cafe Olli with some friends last week for a special birthday dinner after having long wanted to give this place a try. I’ll start by saying the space is quite lovely. There’s an open kitchen, soft lighting, and it’s a quaint setting with some table seating inside and additional outdoor space. It feels warm, elegant and homey. Service overall was pretty good. I believe there was some training going on. But they were attentive and helpful in navigating the menu. Now to the food/drink. Started the meal with some passion fruit margaritas which were decent but completely lacking in the passion department. From what I could tell there wasn’t much if any hint of passion fruit coming through. It looked like a general margarita and tasted like it, which was a bit of a let down given how it was advertised. They also weren’t filled to the level I would have expected which was odd for a $15 drink. We wound up trying all 4 pizzas on the menu which is not huge so keep that in mind. The crust was tasty and pizzas were well cooked. Some of the flavors just weren’t all there for me. The sausage was the favorite of the night. I wanted to love the Brussel and potato but the overwhelming amount of mustard seed unfortunately was tough to compete with and overpowered the pie. The other two pizzas were both solid but didn’t blow me away. Overall it was a nice evening but given the smaller menu I probably wouldn’t rush back for a round two unless in the area.
Josh L — Google review
Busy Sunday morning. We waited about 15 minutes, not bad! Once seated they were very attentive, answered food allergy questions, and made suggestions. We ended up ordering the breakfast sandwich, brunch greens, and the 'every day toast' (You must. Pile on the butter, then the compote, and dig in. The bread is quite good). Food was delivered quite quickly, and it was delicous. Eggs are prepared in the wood fired oven (no scrambled eggs here) and they were perfect. We'll be back to try the rest of the menu.
Faye C — Google review
Cafe Olli is an outstanding spot that exceeded our expectations! We initially came for breakfast and ended up staying for lunch because the food was so good. The atmosphere is cozy with great natural light inside and lovely outdoor seating. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy a meal at any time of the day. Their fresh pizza from the wood-fired oven looked amazing, but we opted for the trout and baguette, cucumber salad, and ricotta and toast. Every dish was incredible and so fresh. The trout was perfectly cooked, the cucumber salad was crisp and refreshing, and the ricotta and toast was a delightful start to our meal. The freshness and quality of the ingredients really stood out. The ambiance of Cafe Olli is perfect for a relaxed meal. The staff were friendly and attentive, making our experience even better. It’s easy to see why this place is so highly regarded. We were so impressed with the quality and flavor of everything we tried. If you’re in Portland and looking for a fantastic spot for breakfast or lunch, I highly recommend Cafe Olli. We had an amazing time and will definitely be back to try their pizza next time. This place has definitely become a new favorite of ours!

Cloudforest is a newly opened shop that offers a delightful selection of coffees, pastries, and fantastic chocolates. The Goma "gray" chocolate with sesame and matcha stands out among their complex single origin bars. Visitors can also enjoy amazing ice cream with rich flavor and silky texture, along with perfectly made macarons. The cafe provides vegan and gluten-free options for those with dietary restrictions.
Such cozy and pure chocolate drinks and their service is great. I got the rose and cardamom cardamom latte and it was delicious. I love how light it is and how clean it tasted. Their chocolates are top notch as well Even though they are a bit pricey. They're so good that I still buy them!

Blown away by the quality of dessert here and the service was top notch. Above and beyond and a must try as far as desserts and chocolate in pdx. Not too overly sweet and the flavors really shine through in each product. Had the vanilla macaron and 2 types of ice cream and a few tastes of the chocolate as well.

I did not know that they opened up a location out on Hawthorne area, but glad that they did. I went in and noticed that they had some ice cream offerings as well as their chocolates and drinks. I had the hypercoffee flavor ice cream and that hit the afternoon slump. I can't wait to come back to try the other flavors here.

Amazing little chocolatier shop with friendly service. All chocolates are processed in house. They have a little mill and everything. We tried the Mesopotamian chocolate drink. It’s not too sweet and has a little kick. It’s made with a spicy honey that the barista, who I’m sure might be the owner, bc oof she was on it! She was invested and hustling and bustling with a smile on her face.

Great hot chocolate spot! I had the Cardamom and Mesoamerican hot chocolates, both with toasted marshmallows, and they were delicious. Rich flavors, perfectly balanced, and the marshmallow added a nice touch. Cozy atmosphere too—definitely worth a visit!

This place is cute and has so many yummy-looking desserts and drinks! Definitely minimalist vibes, but what they do, they do well. We stopped by after a visit to OMSI to get my son some ice cream. There are not a ton of ice cream flavors but luckily he likes his ice cream simple and they had strawberry, vanilla, etc. I opted for the cardamom hot chocolate with a toasted marshmallow, and it was divine. We’ll probably have to make it an OMSI tradition!

Stopped by and went to cloud Forest on a whim and wow am I so glad that I did. I had this macaroon. I hate macaroons and these were the best that I’ve ever eaten and then their ice cream was amazing specifically the chocolate ice cream it was like really creamy and light. I can see why it’s called cloud forest anyway 10 out of 10 I loved it.

Nuvrei is a chic and stylish bakery located in the Pearl District, offering a delightful selection of French pastries, croissants, cookies, and macarons. The owner and patissier, Marius Pop, showcases refined French techniques in crafting their flakey croissants and an array of pastries. The bakery also features a Mac Bar in the basement where customers can indulge in an inventive showcase of Nuvrei's wonderful macarons.
The reviews weren't wrong! Wonderful pastries and excellent coffee. A small, cozy, spot with a very upscale vibe. Enjoyed an almond croissant, and a lemon scone. Both were very good, and the coffees were spot on! Very impressive, staff were friendly and quick also!

I have high standards for croissants. This place did not meet them. The rose croissant sounds good in theory but it tastes just like a plain croissant with a sweet glaze that is dyed pink. When we got the rose croissant and lemon poppyseed scone at 1pm on a Friday, the croissant itself had lost all of its flakiness and was just soggy. The scone was also dry after sitting out all day. I cannot recommend the pastries here.

Sweetest petite bakery with so many options. The staff were welcoming and gave me suggestions on items but also what to do locally. They also have cookie mix and granola for takeaway. I ordered the mocha and pistachio croissant, both were excellent. I appreciate the attention to detail and high quality experience. I forgot to take a photo of my mocha.
Hazel C — Google review
Visited Nuvrei today for the first time with a friend and it exceeded expectations. It has a almost hole in the wall appearance from the outside but once you enter you’re greeted with a cozy vibe. The design is very attractive and all the pastries are laid out in front of you. There is not much seating which is the only downside. I loved all the different options for croissants and baked goods. The drink options were fairly unique as well. We tried the regular croissant, rose croissant, and the pistachio croissant all of which were fantastic. Very flaky, light, and fresh. The drinks were great as well. I had the mocha which tasted great. Pricing is certainly on the higher end and standard for Portland. Overall, highly recommend this place. It may be more of a takeout spot as it isn’t a large establishment and seating is limited.

Nuvrei in Portland is recommended for anyone who loves pastries and good coffee. The display cases are overflowing with freshly baked croissants, tarts, and inventive treats—everything we tried was delicious and beautifully crafted. Their coffee is equally impressive as well. What really sets Nuvrei apart is the space itself. Floor‑to‑ceiling windows flood the café with natural light, and the thoughtful lighting fixtures create a warm, inviting atmosphere. This place delivers on both taste and ambiance. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town!

Lauretta Jean's is a delightful bakery and cafe located in Southeast Portland, known for its seasonal handmade pies with light, flaky crusts and delectable fillings like tart cherry, salted pecan, and chocolate-banana cream. Originally starting as a stall at the Saturday Farmers Market at PSU, it has now become a charming brick-and-mortar establishment.
If you have time to spare and don't mind waiting in line, the pies are pretty good. We tried the lemon bar, strawberry short pie, and the boysenberry peach pie! Lemon bar was quite zesty and delicious and the cream on the strawberry short pie was flavorful and light. Pie slices were $7 a piece and the store had such cute decor! Huge variety of flavors and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

This Division Street hot spot is definitely pie heaven. The Heirloom Apple a la mode and pumpkin pie did not disappoint. Loved the blueberry scone as well. The staff were very kind and happy to answer questions. There is a fair amount of indoor and outdoor seating. ⚠️ Closed on Tuesdays.

I consider myself a bit of a pie connoisseur (I have a dream to open a pie shop)! This place was amazing! Small, quaint, popular, with lots of selection of delicious pies (by the slice, whole, even some hand pies) in traditional and seasonal varieties, and a few other baked goods (their cookies were scrumptious)! Thank you, Lauretta Jean’s! We will be back!
Mark J — Google review
My friend and I went here because its close by and the food and coffee were both very good. We each got a slice of the tomato and mozzarella quiche (warmed) and it was very delicious. I also got a caramel cappuccino wirh their salted honey pie (which is on the sweeter side), and she got a latte. The order took a bit to come out, but it wasn't the worst. There was a line outside to get in during their busier times so be mindful of that.

My absolute favorite is the blueberry Victoria. It’s blueberry compote, cream, and a lemon custard, with a thin cake layer. It’s magic, their signature. Also have had and loved their blackberry raspberry streusel, chocolate banana pie, and seasonal peach pie. Can’t go wrong with any of them.

I'm a sucker for pie and this was probably the best pies I've had in a really long time!!! So fresh and delicious I needed more room in my belly to eat more but it was the perfect end to our dinner. Most definitely will be back!

This place has been on my list to visit for some time now, and I was so excited to finally make it there. The pie is absolutely delicious! I started off with ordering a slice with ice cream and ended up having to get 2 slices to go! The pie traveled well back home with me, and I can't wait to make it back to Portland to try more flavors.

I saw this spot on my way to dinner and figured if there’s a line out the door, it must be good. I got the classic pumpkin, lemon bar, key lime, cookie, and a hot apple cider. We got their Rasher Egg and Cheese English Muffin with tomato. It tasted good and healthy. I didn't know the tomato was extra $3 charge. The sandwich is definitely not worth $12.80 so skip the tomato. We tried some of their other pastries and sourdough and they were all very good.

I was disappointed. The only thing that was yummy and worth the price was the pumpkin muffin, which I would get again. But.. The Bacon and egg croissant was dry and overcooked. The salmon sandwich; the bread was good. But it was soggy ish from the slaw and could hardly tell there was cream cheese on it. The coffees was delicious. Bathroom was dirty and needed a deep cleaning. Staff was super sweet. We spent close to $50 not worth it.

This is a cute bakery with very solid food and drink offerings. Bread looked amazing and they had lots of variety. The shop has a small parking lot, that seems to fill quickly but there is street parking all around. There is lots of seating and lots of space. Staff was friendly and quick on orders. I plan to visit again!

If you’re not ordering, and if you are a person with my complexion, don’t expect good customer service. It’s so obviously painful that I almost walked out to never return. As a Delivery Driver, being out on the road is a lot, so it means everything to just be treated with kindness when going into any establishment. Also it took them forever to complete the order. Normally I don’t leave reviews but I am today because this isn’t the first time this has it happened. Hope that the managers see this and create a better system, or notify their team to at-least do better! Delivery Service Partner or not… we’re working for you, helping your company make more money. It would be nice for your employees to respect that.

The Muffin was really good as was the bread on our sandwiches. However the sandwiches themselves were just ok. The bacon and egg croissant was a tad overcooked and had not much seasoning or any sauce. Their salmon Sandwich. I wanted to like it. Idk. It was close but just off for me. They weren't bad. Just kinda so so.
Timothy R — Google review
Pretty straight forward brunch and lunch menu sandwiches. Their baked goods (breads and pastries) are their highlight. I had the turkey chutney with a dill pickle which was fresh, tasty, and fulfilling. I had a pecan pull apart pastry which is super delicious with their coffee. I would defintely come back again. All this for less than $20. Service is fast, nice, and attentive. The atmosphere is clean, well kept, uptodate with wooden fixtures, and busy. I saw people doing work and it wasn’t too loud that you couldn’t have a conversation. There is also outside seating. Tables are big enough for a party as large as 4. I will defintely come back. Parking is tough (this is the down side) and your best bet is to scour the neighborhood for a spot (thus a 4 for atmosphere instead of 5).
Alexander ( — Google review
We got two sandwiches, the happy goat and veggie grinder, side salad, a fontina pull-apart & a pecan pull-apart, and a soda and chai. Both of the sandwiches were super good, loved the happy goat. The veggie grinder was good but the baguette was hard this day. The pastries were a little hard/dry too, esp the pecan pull-apart. The caramelized sugar on top had really hardened. We were understanding bc it was end of day for them. The chai was semi sweet and nicely spicy. The greens in the side salad were fresh and the dressing was good. Really enjoyed the cozy space on a rainy Portland day. But I've had baked goods from grand central before that were way better than what we had this day, so that was slightly disappointing. Still a good spot for a light lunch. Stopped into ecovibe next door afterwards for some shopping.

Bakeshop GETS how to make a kouign amann. I've had a number of excellent pastries here but the KA alone is worth going out of your way for. Keep an eye out for seasonal items like soda bread, Thanksgiving pies, etc.

Smells incredible, friendly staff, cute but functional space. It's the type of place you swing by and pick up, not a place to linger. The pastries, especially the savory ones, and insanely good. Definitely worth a stop for the cheese straws alone.

I’m so mad that I didn’t try this bakery sooner than last year. All of the flaky pastries are perfectly crispy and buttery, including the strawberry + fig Parisian for which one of the employees brought the figs straight from her yard (I mean come on!!🥹). Needless to say it was sublime. There is such a wide selection of both sweet and savory pastries, I wish I had 3 stomachs to try them all.
Snacking S — Google review
All the workers here were very friendly and helpful but the food was meh. The wonder bun must’ve been days old because it was extremely hard and chewy even though I came in only an hour after opening. The quiche was decent but once again the crust was so hard I couldn’t even finish it. I’ve been to a lot of bakeries in Portland and this just didn’t satisfy, I expected better quality for the price.. probably won’t be back here again :(

Farina Bakery is a delightful bakeshop located in Portland, Oregon. The bakery offers an array of delectable treats including colorful macarons, custom cakes, and various pastries. Founded by talented baker Laura Farina, the bakery has gained popularity for its exquisite macarons which are available in a variety of flavors, some of which change with the seasons. The charming and whimsical bakeshop also provides an opportunity to place special bulk orders for events or gatherings.
Hidden gem! This bakery deserves a much higher rating than the others nearby. I’ve tried several similarly rated coffee shops in the area, but this one stands out by far. They offer a wide variety of pastries — not just sweet options like you might expect from google map, but also delicious savoury ones. The almond croissants, and savory pop tarts, are a must-try, and the coffee is a generous size and great quality. There’s also a lovely seating area both inside and outside. Highly recommend — this place should absolutely be rated higher!

Farina Bakery is famous for their macarons. We have been there multiple times. The team members are very friendly. The place is clean. We ordered Lemon Curd with Mixed Berries Danish, Lemon Poppy Seed Scone with Raspberry Glaze, Creamy Pesto Pop Tart, Everything Bagel Galette, and a Gift Box of 1 Dozen Assorted Macarons. They are all very delicious.

Didn’t know I loved macarons until I tried one from Farina Bakery! It was really hard to choose just one from the delicious flavors they offer. I tried the horchata macaron and the mini marionberry poptart. YUM. The poptart was a perfect balance of sweet and tart from the berries and it was truly a taste of Oregon. The macaron had the classic soft-chewy texture with delicious toasted cinnamon flavor. There was plenty of seating inside and I loved the wall murals and colorful decorations. It was not crowded at 11am on a Sunday but a lot of the baked goods behind the glass were already gone, so I’d recommend visiting earlier in the morning. I also had a cup of English Breakfast tea which paired nicely with my treats. A macaron, a poptart, and a cup of tea all for just $10! I will be back to try more soon!

Super cute & clean location with lots of yummy options and places to sit or work on things. Whether dining in or getting it delivered, it’s always packaged/presented with such care. I highly recommend the cream puff or the animal cookie macaron. The staff was nice as well. Julia went above and beyond to make it a great experience and was so helpful! I highly recommend this bakery.

The selection looks amazing. The macarons are well made. The creampuff and cheese cake was delicious. Unfortunately, the frosting was a heavy, dense buttery flavor.I couldn't eat half of the cupcake as it broke apart and all that was left was a pile of the unflattering frosting. I'd stick with the other items and definitely the macarons.

I ordered a dozen cupcakes easily through their online menu. It was clearly communicated that any edits or additions must be submitted 48 hours before the pick up or delivery date. I emailed them to add another dozen cupcakes and they responded quickly, invoiced me and made the payment process easy. All the guests loved the cupcakes. I got specific compliments on both the cake and frosting. I will absolutely order from Farina again.

Incredible! I tried the butter croissant and my husband had the one with meat and cheese. Absolutely delicious. We also tried the lemon cake and some of the chocolates. You must try the chocolate!! I would go back and stand in line just for the chocolate. It was the most delicious chocolate I’ve ever had.

This place is a Gem! What do they say? Great things come in small packages! Owners are amazing as well. Location is so small for the amount of customers that they get hopefully they can eventually get a bigger space. I knew there was going to be a line when we had gone but I was not expecting that type of line where it wrapped around the corner! While in line there was a local who apparently hates how us “outsiders” come just because we heard about them on social media. The whole time she was trying to convince us to go to a different place. “It wasn’t worth waiting in line just for a couple things”. yet…She waited in line? I wasn’t about to listen to her crazy nonsense! Plus I was already committed. There was no way she was gonna convince me to leave and I’m glad I didn’t. Their pastries were amazing. I can’t wait to come back and have some more next time. I plan on spending more than what I did just cause it was that good ! I would highly recommend. And if I were you, don’t think one hour won’t make a difference it sure does if you can help it. Be there when they open. otherwise, that person that local person will take that last damn chocolate croissant.!
Lynn O — Google review
The pastries are indeed delicious, but the wait was quite long. I arrived around 8:30, and there were already at least 20 people in line. It took about 35 minutes before I finally got my order…Pairing it with a coffee from Either/Or next door was the perfect combo!
Estela L — Google review
This little bakery in Portland is filled with delicious treats and sweet surprises. The standout for me was definitely the carrot cake — rich, moist, and layered perfectly with smooth cream cheese frosting. The hazelnuts added just the right touch of texture and flavor. The croissants, though buttery, were a bit too flaky for my taste. I prefer mine to hold together instead of crumbling everywhere. Flavor felt a bit over baked. Golden brown please 🙏 The price point leans on the higher side, so be prepared to spend a little more — but if you appreciate quality pastries, it’s worth the treat. Overall: Good spot for desserts, especially the carrot cake. 🥕

Fantastic! The awards are well deserved. We sampled a wide range of the offerings, and they were all top notch (and good coffee to boot). The line wasn't too long on a Friday morning at 8am, maybe 20 minutes. But it would be worth an even longer wait. Definitely will make it a point to get over there, this is a gem.

I’m so glad you were my Google suggestion when I searched bakeries! Croissants will never be the same & the bar has been raised. I can honestly say I’ve never seen one that was bigger than my hand. Sebastiano's is a deli in Montavilla that offers both meat and vegetarian versions of the muffuletta. The vegetarian option, made with roasted eggplant and hand-pulled mozzarella, is highly recommended. Their house-baked fennel seed loaf provides a chewy and tangy base for the sandwich, complemented by creamy mozzarella and a hint of spice from Calabrian chile aioli.
What a beautiful hidden gem! I am absolutely addicted to their marmalade and pastries! The atmosphere inside the restaurant is so serene and lovely - you feel like you're tucked away in a little corner in Europe. This is certainly a great spot to meet a friend for a chat, or enjoy lunch with your family. Great people and excellent service too -- 10/10!

This place is the truth. Was recommended it multiple times and finally was around the area to try it. The focaccia was perfect. Was with a large group that ordered almost every thing on the menu and not a single person was disappointed. It’s rare to say the chips are more than an addition but the however they are seasoned were a perfect pairing with the meal. Absolutely recommend

As an Italian New Yorker transplanted in Portland, Sebastiano’s is a bit of home. Delicious arancini, flag cookies, cannolis, focaccia… 🤤 Coffee and tea are always di prima qualità. The folks who work here are kind and personable, making it a perfect spot to grab some food, relax for a bit. And oh yes great music — classics from Sinatra, Martin, Bennett gently in your ear.

Easily one of the best Italian pastry and sandwich shops in all of Portland. Every single one of the dishes is incredible. A must see in selwood My friends and I ordered half of the menu, tried everything, and enjoyed all of it.
Robert ( — Google review
I don't know why I keep punishing myself like this. Anyone familiar with New Orleans muffulettas is better off making their own. 16 dollars gets you less than half of a half of an actual muffuletta and a bunch of chips. We laughed out loud when we opened the box and saw how tiny the portions were. The flavor itself was a B-. Very mayonnaise-forward with cheese and a tapenade too mild to save it. Perhaps the other sandwiches are a decent value but I won't be giving this place a second shot.
Langdon H — Google review
A pop-in to Sebastianos after seeing someone post on social media has quickly become an obsession. We have been 6+ times in the last few months and its not uncommon for us to wake up thinking about the focaccia sandwiches. The owners and employees are a delight, the space is bright, vibrant, and cozy, and the desserts are a must. In October we had the seasonal pumpkin special bombolini and we thought it was one of the best desserts we've had in Portland. We bring all of our out-of-town friends here straight from the airport to kick off good first impressions!
Alexandra L — Google review
Went with high hopes but unfortunately high hopes were not met. Some of the blandest food I’ve had in Portland- which was very surprising since most other reviews were so positive. Sandwich was a forgettable experience and I wish I could forget about the pizza (couldn’t get past two bites). Icing on the cake is the pricing (I don’t mind paying premium prices for small portions.. but the food has to be good…). The cherry on top is the forced 20% service charge for takeout.

Update 6/14/25: muffuletta today was uninspiring - dense focaccia, tiny tiny sandwich (for $17) and waaaaaay too much mayo (why any mayo is the real question). Legit felt we got ripped off. *************** Everything I got was simply fantastic. Muffuletta, cannoli, olives, cookies, pastries....just fantastic.

Laurelhurst Market is a unique combination of a butcher shop and steakhouse, offering an array of unusual cuts, house-cured meats, and craft drinks in an industrial setting. The restaurant features a lovely dining room as well as a spacious covered deck that was once a parking lot. The deck provides an ideal spot for indulging in lunchtime roast beef sandwiches or evening steak frites under twinkly lights.
Reserved a table a few days ahead and was seated immediately in a prime spot upon walking in. Lovely service, the servers know exactly what they are doing. Cocktails are STRONG but delicious. The food was cooked to perfection, definitely recommend getting the mac n cheese to share with the table.

We very much enjoyed our lunch here. We ordered a salad and a sandwich and split both. It was a good thing we were hungry, because we probably could have just split one of them and had plenty of food. If you are looking for plain, bland food, this is not your place. There was lots of fun and tasty food combinations just in the two meals we ordered. The only minor issue we had was with our sandwich: we asked for the mayonnaise to be put on the side of the sandwich. They left the mayo off the sandwich, but forgot to put it on the side. I went back and ask for it on the side, which they readily and quickly accommodated. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating here. We sat in a large tent covered, deck area that was a nice combination of being out of the sun, but not being inside. I would definitely come back here for lunch. Thanks for the tasty meal!

This place was amazing. We all had the hanger steak and they all were cooked as we ordered. Flavor profile for the steak itself was delicious. The tahini flavor paired well with the steak. Sides were amazing and to compliment, the drinks were refreshing. Specifically the old fashioned and veridis quo. Will be coming back for reservations next week.

This steakhouse has some incredible meat! The beef tartar was some of the best I've had. Crispy calamari was cooked perfectly; not chewy, breading not overpowering. I went with a New York, friend went with the ribeye. My new York came cooked to perfection (medium rare) and was incredible. My friends ribeye was amazing too. It had a silky buttery flavor behind it that was something special. Our server was exceptional and I feel bad for not remembering her name to put in this review. Never asked how food was when our mouths were full. Perfect balance of service and leaving us to enjoy the meal. I will be back and cant wait to try more off their menu.

We went for a business anniversary dinner. We ordered many things and shared, including the $155 ribeye. Many of the dishes were amazing, the 32oz ribeye, unfortunately was good, not great. The salads were delicious, and the desserts were also really good. The service was decent, just a little bit lagging here and there but decent. The only disappointment was the steak, and it wasn’t bad, just didn’t “wow” me. Will definitely go back again.

Awesome dinner spot! Had the shishito peppers, steak frites, and the house made ice cream. The sweet corn ice cream was a little too corny for me, but every other dish was executed wonderfully. I’d recommend the razzmatazz cocktail for a refreshing drink!

I had a party of 7 and we had to wait about ten minutes past our reservation time to be seated and they were so apologetic they gave us a platter of complimentary deviled eggs which were possibly the best I’ve ever had in my life. It all got better from there. They even have a kids menu!

Fantastic experience at Laurelhurst Market! Sat out on the covered patio for date night. Loved the mezcal cocktail and ordered the deviled eggs, Caesar salad, porterhouse special and grilled zucchini. All the food was incredible - the steak came with chimichurri, creamy horseradish and a red wine reduction sauce. 10/10 recommend and can’t wait to come back!

Helen Bernhard Bakery is a long-standing establishment in Portland, known for its old-school charm and delectable baked goods. Established in 1924, this bakery offers a variety of pastries, cookies, cakes, and breads that cater to diverse tastes. Run by Mike and Kellie Snaadt, the bakery also specializes in crafting custom wedding cakes with unique flavors like white chocolate, pink champagne, and banana.
I recently ordered a cake for my Mom's 70th birthday. It wasn't inexpensive but it was PERFECT. I asked for a huge heart-shaped overdecorated pink champagne single-layer boat a la movie studio birthday parties of the 1950s, and they delivered. Seeing this thing wheeled out for the birthday song was magic. The cake itself was delicious and super moist, even two days later stored in the box. I've had mixed results with Helen's case cakes, and I think the workaround is just ordering something custom and fresh and not relying on what's readily available that day in-store. You won't be disappointed!

they did a really nice job on a cake i got for my friends birthday. i asked for the most tropical fruits they had and the person recommended banana cake with banana custard and pineapple icing. it turned out beautifully, i will say the banana cake was a little dry and overbaked but the custard was INCREDIBLE. also liked that the icing had fresh bits of pineapple and wasn’t too sweet. very friendly service and the shop was super cute too.

Incompetent to say the least and mostly just a scam to take your money for the least amount of work. Wasn’t what I ordered, it was sloppy and disgusting. It wasn’t ready or even started when I arrived and it was dry! I emailed this company asking if they could make a Buttercream knife palate painted cake and sent 2 pictures (attached) I got a call from them and spoke to a woman who said they absolutely could and it was no problem. We discussed all the details of the cake and I felt confident about my decision of choosing this bakery with 100 years of experience. I arrived this past Friday Feb 21, 2025 at 12:15pm for my agreed time 12:30pm pick it up time. I was told it would be 10 minutes. I happened to look to my left and saw a man just starting what looked to be the cake colors I ordered. 45 minutes later the cake was brought to me unfinished. I was very confused bc it looked nothing like the pictures I sent. It was messy and sloppy. 25 minutes later they said it was done, it was awful and nothing like what I ordered. I asked them to fix it 3 times and every time I was met with rudeness and unprofessionalism. This isn’t a design you just whip out of a plastic icing bag, as the buttercream is to be painted on with a knife and refrigerated. It takes skill which I found this bakery does not have. The cake is supposed to be more taller than wide. The bakery lied to me, was unprofessional, rude, and completely incompetent. When you say you can recreate a cake and charge $95.00 for it, I expect you to make it as close to possible as promised. I was over a hour and a half late as it was, due to them not even starting until after i got there and was on the way to the party and had to purchase this cake to not show up empty handed. The cake was tasteless and dry and beyond a disappointment. This bakery is a scam and I wouldn’t waste your time or money here. We would have been better off getting a cake at the dollar tree lol Update: I called the bakery and a manager got on the phone and ripped me apart and said I expected too much! HAHAHA! Then don’t lie to your customers about your abilities and expectations will be low as they should?? I think Helen Bernhard would be disgusted and highly disappointed by the people running her bakery these days. I bet she was great.

Helen Bernhard Bakery never fails to bring joy to our hearts—their cakes have always been a family favorite! Not only are they beautifully crafted, but they’re also perfectly soft and never too sweet—just the right balance every time. Our most recent cake truly exceeded all expectations. We shared an inspiration photo and some character toppers, and what they created was beyond anything we could have imagined. They brought our son’s cake to life with incredible detail and creativity. Absolutely magical!

So many delicious treats to choose from. I went late on Sunday afternoon and a few of the cases were discounted half off but they still tasted fresh when we enjoyed at home. The cake donuts and sticky bun were my favorites. I will definitely go back again earlier in the day next time to catch some different items.
Ashley S — Google review
Ordered this cake for my girlfriend’s 27th birthday and it turned out absolutely amazing, they went off the inspo pic I sent and it turned out so beautiful. They’re not overpriced either which I really appreciate as most bakeries charge far too much for a custom cake. Highly recommend getting your cake through here!
Sinify — Google review
Helen Bernhard Bakery is truly a gem. From the moment you walk in, the smell of fresh-baked goods wraps around you like a cozy blanket. Their cakes, pastries, and cookies are consistently fresh, beautifully crafted, and absolutely delicious. The staff is always friendly and helpful, whether you’re picking up a custom cake for a special occasion or just grabbing a sweet treat to brighten your day. Their buttercream frosting is a standout — rich, smooth, and not overly sweet. And if you haven’t tried their classic pink cake or the almond torte, you’re missing out. This bakery has been a Portland favorite for decades, and it’s easy to see why. It’s a perfect blend of tradition, quality, and charm. Whether you’re a longtime local or just passing through, Helen Bernhard Bakery is a must-visit.

Must be a traditional favorite for natives, so since I am not native to the area, I did not see the appeal. I found better baked goods in a small bakery run by a German couple in Pontiac, IL. The line employees were pleasant and friendly enough, and I would have given four stars, but that was diminished by the manager lady, who was quite rude. No smile, no thank you, no friendly demeanor. She upbraided me for not knowing how to open the entrance door, but since I had never been there, how was I supposed to know? Notwithstanding that, no need to act like that. I was quite taken aback by such treatment. Hope she is not like that to staff, but if so, I feel sorry for them. Interior quite quaint and pleasant but too small to hold more than a handful of patrons.

Baker & Spice, located in the Hillsdale suburb, is a small-batch bakery and cafe that has become a beloved community hub. Established by owner Julie Richardson in 2005, this charming spot offers an array of delectable treats. From the irresistible coconut cream pie to the old-fashioned cakes and addictive chocolate shortbread cookies, there's something for every sweet tooth.
I had visited this bakery a few times now and have never been disappointed! Grab a number for the cue when you enter and peruse among all the sweet and savory treats they offer until your number is called. They have baked bread, sandwiches, sweet and a few savory desserts and decent coffee. This is definitely a local shop I keep coming back to! Definitely will recommend !

Great bakery right in the heart of hillsdale village! They have become a local favorite for many years now with awesome bread, sandwiches and especially pastries! Their crumb cake is iconic and sticky buns are epic! Their Katie bun is a personal favorite - like a croissant with a hint of sweet! Take home some shortbread cookies for later too

This place makes great pastries. It is a hit with kids, naturally. You can order online and pick at a different line. I wish they had more breakfast sandwiches options but I don’t think I could bare the line if they did.

Anytime I find myself nearby ( we live about 25 minutes away) , I make a beeline for Baker and Spice to load up on their delicious breads (we are addicted to the sandwich loaf). They have a super solid selection of both sweet and savory pastries, cakes, and excellent take and bake biscuits. The best bakery I have tried in SW PDX.

I adore this little bakery! So happy to have them in Hillsdale. Things I love include (but are not limited to) their chocolate croissants, Katie buns, sandwich cookies, grab and go sandwiches, and fruit tarts.

Their sandwich cookies are one of the best treats I’ve had from a bakery in a long while! Totally worth the price! So far, I’ve tried a few of the flavors, and I am never disappointed.

When you walk in, you have to take a number and wait for it to be called. That system caused a bit of confusion since it was pretty loud inside and hard to hear when numbers were being announced, so things got a little out of order but it was quickly and easily fixed. The pastries were excellent! There’s a nice selection of sweet options. We had the biscuit and egg, which was very good—the biscuit was moist and fluffy. We also tried the honey cream tart and caramel cheesecake; the cheesecake was super good and the cream tart was light and airy. One of the downsides is the seating. The tables are quite small and a little uncomfortable, but overall it’s a great spot for pastries and a quick bite.

This cozy bakery and cafe is the perfect spot for all of your favorite pie in Portland cravings. They have mini pies that are perfect for one or two people, depending on how hungry you are. You can't go wrong with any of their mini pies, but favorites include the marionberry with crumble topping. The Pie Spot was founded on eco-conscious principles and uses only the best ingredients, including gluten free pies.
I just HAD to try some pie! I ordered the marionberry and the hazelnut chocolate pies. My son ordered the special tiramisu and shared a piece. They were all incredibly delicious. They were made even better with the most tasty vanilla iced latte! (So nice, in fact, I ordered a second, to go!) staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

The breakfast sandwich is a MUST! Wow! One of the best breakfast sandwiches we’ve had in Portland! Paired with a lil pie, so so delicious. I dream of when we can go here again for breakfast!! Obsessed with the size of the lil pies, so cute and perfect. Coffee was also delicious and the staff were sweet and kind! Even so early in the morning, they were so positive, kind, and genuine to us🩷

The Pie Spot is truly a small piece of heaven on earth! Every visit feels special — the staff are so friendly, welcoming, and always in such a wonderful mood. Their positive attitude and genuine smiles brighten my whole day. The mocha latte with skim milk they make for me is absolutely perfect every single time — smooth, balanced, and just the right sweetness. And don’t even get me started on the pies — pure comfort in every bite! This place has quickly become my new addiction. With my big sweet tooth, I’ve truly found my Zen right here at The Pie Spot!
Obaid K — Google review
I did a pickup order from the Pie Spot to cater desert for my wedding. People loved the pies, and they were delicious! I love that there were gluten free and vegan options, as I have guests with those allergies. They loved that even with their food restrictions, they had a selection of flavors to choose from. That said, I had a really difficult time getting a hold of them, and had to call the store several times to ask someone to respond to my emails with my questions. Additionally, there was some miscommunication as to where I would be picking up, as there are two locations, and that was frustrating to deal with.
Cassidy T — Google review
Woah, what can I say about this place! It’s got the typical Portland cafe vibes (which is not a bad thing at all.) The muffins in the breakfast sandwich were like bites of buttered heaven. I had the pumpkin pie, the filling was nice and the crust was awesome. Pies are adorable but the portion might disappoint depending on how hungry you are. Smaller pies though means you can try more flavors!
Bandicoots — Google review
Pie is my favorite dessert, so when my husband and I got married earlier this year, we made sure to have the Pie Spot as our dessert option for everyone. They were easy to work with and delicious to boot! My uncle was sitting next to the pies and gave everyone a pie concierge experience to help them pick the right flavor. Anything was a good choice, thank you Pie Spot!

Please work on the crust. Bought a pie and usually it is the best. This time, you couldn't eat it in a plate because you couldn't cut it with a fork. Matter of fact, it was super hard to customers with a knife. Had to finally just eat the filling.

Bakery
An Xuyên Bakery is a cozy cafe and bakeshop known for its artisanal pastries and Pan-Asian sandwiches made with housemade bread. The Vietnamese bakery offers a variety of sandwich fillings, with pork being a popular choice, served on tender Vietnamese baguettes along with cilantro, shredded carrots, cucumber, and jalapeno. In addition to their famous banh mi sandwiches, the bakery also sells their breads and pastries at local restaurants and grocery stores.
There is almost always a line at this bakery, but it is well worth the wait. The chicken and lemongrass sandwich is absolutely delicious. The pickled carrots and crisp cucumber on the barbecue pork are perfect. Don’t miss the unusual mochi donuts, including the black sesame peanut. They are a very specific taste and texture. Staff is super friendly and efficient.

It was so good! Prices were outrageously good and fair. I was blown away by how beautiful the desserts were and how creative. They were so yummy and I am excited to come back and get many more. The ube donut was by far my favorite. So simple but so yummy and soft. The matcha cheesecake was a fun one, not my favorite but it was pretty so can’t complain too much. Loved the pork bun. Amazing, especially for the price! I’m looking to try the sandwiches next, they seemed like a big hit when I was there!

Oh the number of tasty items. Get something here for an enjoyable treat. We got a bbq pork steamed bun, an egg ban mi, an ube mochi donut, a butter pecan walnut crisp and a thousand layer coconut ube. The bun was a typical steamed bun. The ban mi was interesting but very tasty, replacing some of the veggies with some hard boiled eggs. The crisp was tasty with the center being flaky sweet and moist all at the same time. The donut was exactly as its name should be. The thousand layer was like a thick croissant filled with ube and coconut.
Alex D — Google review
Amazing baked Asian goods!! The bbq steamed pork bun was one of my favorites. Honestly tried a little bit of everything haha ube cheesecake was delicious but very rich so you must share that with someone. Their pork belly bahn mi was great, the cha siu bahn mi meat was kinda dry. Iced coffee was tasty but super sweet. And lastly their garlic cheese bread was huge and delicious!! Had actual garlic pieces and some sort of sweet aioli sauce that made it amazing. We went back twice on our trip. Highly recommend

first time trying banh mi, but I was blown away at both the price and quality. For reference, bahn mi can be about $12 or more, it was 6.75 here. And was the real stuff with a family running the show. Long line, good sign. Next time I will try the many different desserts

Almost always some wait time, its definitely worth it! They're fast and its obviously very popular. You can try to get there early but koat likely others are too. It's a very delicious smoothies, coffee, baked sweets and goods, amazing bhan mi sandwiches. 😋

Incredible bakery. I’ve been here quite a few times now and it’s a must visit! They have a wide selection of pastries, even a couple gluten free items. They do have other food and drinks as well. It is super affordable! I got two croissants (which are soo soft and buttery), and 3 gluten free coconut ube donuts (and let me tell you, these are my new obsession) all for $9!! The coconut ube donuts are so flavorful without being overwhelming, the texture is amazing, and just the fact that they are $1.50 blow my mind. The parking is sparse in their parking lot but street parking is free and easy to find
Z P — Google review
Both vegetarian versions of bahn mi are amazing! The bread was nice and crunchy on the outside but super soft on the inside (they are baked fresh daily!). We liked the vegetarian meat version slightly more than the tofu one because the flavors were a little stronger but they were both excellent! Service was actually fairly quick. Didn't try the pastries but they looked amazing so we'll definitely come back for those! They only have a couple of picnic tables out front, and just 4 or 5 parking spots, so it's definitely best to just pick up and take it to go.

I’m visiting Portland from the East coast, and this cute little cafe came recommended by my Airbnb hostess. From the moment I entered though the last bite of my vegan scramble it was obvious why. I love the homey neighborhood coffee shop vibe, and the food and coffee were amazing. I’m happy that I was able to experience a piece of Portland like locals do. VERDICT: The secret to happiness is a Great Baker 😀 Do you know all those movies you probably watched about cooking and looking at these wonderful confectionaries that make your mouth water and make your eyes light up? That's what it's like here. The coffee and pastry like the sign indicates are good. This includes the quiches which are usually well made. The regular breakfast leaves a little to be desired, it is filling and good but nothing to write home about. The oatmeal was improved greatly with the addition of fresh cut Apple and blueberry. The interior is fantastic with wood colors and chalkboards throughout. Even the outdoor seating is great with both by the road and hidden away outdoor seating. Staff are very friendly and know their coffees and menu. The bathrooms are clean. No parking so walk to it, though there is some limited street parking. They are on a transit route.

Pizza Thief is a cozy bar and New York-style pizzeria located in Northwest Portland. The venue offers a Pacific Northwest twist on classic New York-style pizza, along with cocktails, wine, beer, focaccia, salads, and pastries. Owned by lifelong friends Darby Aldaco and Toy Pasquale, the pizzeria has an interesting backstory rooted in their teenage dare games involving pizza theft. One of their standout desserts is a 1 lb triple chocolate hazelnut cookie.
Both flavor and an experience when you walk in. Had the wildwood pizza at great notion and what an incredible pizza it is! So original and an impact of flavor. The classic Italian sandwich is a true classic done right. I love visiting Portland and this is another reason why. Don't cheat yourself treat yourself and thank me later. 😉👌

Heard many good things about Pizza thief and finally got around to trying it for a casual dinner. It’s definitely located out of the way on the industrial side of Portland compared to other places. The interior and ambience is definitely nice. It’s connected to a bar which is behind a wall which is convenient for those who do not want to be around alcohol. Service was very quick and you order at the front. The pizza itself was unfortunately not the best in my opinion. I’ve heard so many great things but it felt like a lower quality bar style more greasy pizza. I didn’t feel that quality that I have from other pizza places around Portland. The jalapeño cheesy bread was solid and they definitely added a ton of jalapeños. Pricing felt slightly on the higher side and they charge for sides and dipping sauces. Portion size was solid. Overall, definitely worth a try but I’m not sure if I’d personally seek this place out given the number of other great options around Portland!

A slice above! Even though this is "just pizza", it is not just pizza. This is a place for sourdough lovers and gourmet foodies because if you aren't that you might be slightly annoyed by the interesting crust. This might be the best tasting pizza crust in Portland and that is saying a lot. You can tell there's a little rye flour and that this is a long process dough to make. Probably slightly harder to work with than regular yeasted white flour dough. This is a slice that's worth a moderate drive to try. The look of their sweets had me salivating, and their sandwiches look amazing too. And they've got homemade ice cream and tiramisu in the freezer, oh my! I guess I'll be stopping in regularly.

The Baker's Mark is a laid-back sub spot known for its made-to-order sandwiches on homemade rolls and craft beer and cider. The shop typically sells out of their daily house-made bread before noon, so it's best to arrive early. Their signature Godfather Sandwich features an array of Italian meats and cheeses with a variety of toppings. In addition to the classic turkey or roast beef options, they also offer a delicious vegan sandwich with chickpea avocado spread.
Lovvve this place! They’ve maintained quality since they opened. I’m not sure if the owners still there grinding at 4AM and maybe the sandwiches are a bit smaller, but the quality has always been consistent. Online/iPad only ordering is a little annoying, but my parents managed to get through it decently well last time (if that’s a good indicator) I was here and in general it makes the inside a lot chiller. Anyways, far and away best sandwich bread and bread in general in Portland. Not a classic east coast style deli but something a little different and better. Also in a massive plus one of the few places that has Dutch crunch bread, but you usually have to get there before 2PM.

I found two hairs in my sandwich: one baked into tue actual bread and one in the sandwich itself. I didn’t get a picture of the one in the bread but here is the one in the sandwich. I was eating my sandwich when I noticed a hair on the bread and opened it up and found another one :( I dmed them but no response. This place gets super busy during lunch which I totally understand. But, it was disappointing because I really liked the sandwich. Just did not like finding hair in it

Really great sandwiches. The bread is absolutely delicious and i love the options for vegetarians. They often sell out, so order early!
Elizabeth — Google review
The sandwiches are great and the staff are nice. The reason for my less than perfect review is their horrible ordering system. This place sells sandwiches. Most people eat sandwiches with their hands. The only way to place an order is via a public touch screen, which is disgusting. If the business forces people to use a communicable-disease vector to order, they should also provide hand sanitizer or an easily accessible way to wash one’s hands. There are neither: the sanitizer dispenser is empty and the bathroom is difficult to access and does not include a sanitary way to dry one’s hands after washing.

You know that feeling when you show up somewhere and the sold out sign is hanging in the window? The worst. That always happens to me...but not today! Note they were sold out by 1pm on a Friday. I was lucky enough to get one of the last sandwiches of the day before they sold out of bread. What an absolute treat! Dutch crunch bread, roast beef, Tillamook cheddar, spicy peppers...sweet hot mustard....drag that baby through the garden...delicious! You order at a kiosk here which is super efficient. I was sort of worried about the interaction trying to figure out how to dress my sandwich so this keeps things chugging while we indecisive folks make the tough, tough decisions. A few tables indoors (which are open air when it's warm) and loads of picnic tables outside. Fantastic spot, lovely folks. I can't wait to try more!

This is one of my favorite sandwich shop in town. I've never had a bad experience here. My go to sandwich is The Godfather. The sandwich is packed off flavor and can be enjoyed anytime of the day. They also have some hot sandwiches. The pastrami is also a solid one.

If you haven't tried them before You. Need. To. You want to order online before you show up. They regularly sell out so get there early. Best damn sandwich I've had.

Super yummy Sandos at the Bakers Mark! I ordered the Turkey with cheese and all the toppings and I was more than impressed with my sandwich. All the toppings were good quality and the bread is amazing. Parking is a little hard to find but the quality of the sandwich makes up for that. I cannot wait to come back and try all the other options. You order from a kiosk and you can easily customize your sandwich to your liking. Great place with super friendly staff.

Oui Presse is a charming and minimalist coffeehouse located on Hawthorne Boulevard in Southeast Portland. The cafe offers a cozy and feminine ambiance with lights strung around, creating an inviting atmosphere. The owner, Shawna McKeown, is known for crafting the perfect peanut butter and jelly sandwich using fresh-ground peanuts, flavorful jam, Japanese white bread right from the oven, and flaky sea salt.
Good coffee and always something good to eat - more than pastries! They even have hard boiled eggs at the ready. The soups are really good and they sell quarts to take home. It can take some time to prepare the food - but that also means they’re using more than a microwave. And they get their baguettes from one of the best bakeries in portland!

Tasty espresso at a cute shop in a trendy neighborhood. I liked how they had more than just pastries too. You can get soups and sandwiches. Friendly service.

Oui Presse coffee shop... best kept secret. Reminds me of how cafés were before Starbucks—real plates and cups. Thoughtful menu and service. Second visit. Consistent good service and lovely atmosphere. (I love the front window counter for brunch and writing.) Second time having the poached eggs on toast: thick-cut crusty whole-wheat bread with soft middle—a little mattress for the egg pillows 😁. Perfect poached eggs: cooked whites, yolks with a honey-like consistency. Balanced seasoning, plus finishing salt flakes. Lovely latte. A little loud once full, due to coffee machine sounds and voices. Great experience. Will go back for third visit.

Went in here a handful of months ago. The oatmeal was unique and a good treat for a rainy day. I tucked in here right before it started storming. The service was fine and the atmosphere was OK. Lots of shops nearby. It's worth a stop.

I like to try lots of different cafes, but I keep coming back here because of the food. It's always simple and hearty, and gives off major homemade, comforting vibes. I love all the soups I've tried so far, the cookies, and especially the beans on toast! Mixed beans in a slightly sweet tomato sauce piled onto THICK toast, drizzled with olive oil. So good!

Lovely female owned business. #girlpower. They make a great espresso and have great food options. Perfect location, a slice of France on Hawthorne.

Their granola was good. I feel like I should say more than that. So many things are "good". People, days, poops, and definitely Oui Presse's granola. I'm pretty sure the poop I had after this granola was good too. Everything just pushed through so easily! I'd appreciate if more food reviewers talked about how their food affected their bowels. I'd think twice about a place's famous mac n cheese if it's going to be an ordeal on the toilet later. Anyway, I'd definitely go back to this place for the granola.

Very good service. Even though there were a lot people in line, the single person working (on Christmas day, thank you!) made sure to take all orders, and make them, as quickly as possible while also doing a great job at it. The PBJ was great, and so was the hot chocolate.

Orange & Blossom Patisserie is a must-visit in Portland, offering the best vegan and overall pastries in the area. Their cardamom bun and special focaccia are highly recommended. Despite the usual line at their stall, the service is efficient and friendly, making it worth the wait. The pastries are described as delicious works of art, with favorites including tahini buns and pb miso cookies.
The cutest vegan bakery with great customer service! This bakery is so cozy and welcoming! All the food was delicious and vegan. Plus the service was exceptional. The Nutella Tart was highly recommended and turned out to be everyone’s favourite. Both cookies were inventive flavours and delicious. The lovely employee behind the counter was welcoming and helpful in our decision making. Sorry I didn’t catch their name. Highly recommend whether you’re vegan or not. I bet you can’t tell it’s all vegan 😉

We came here for a quick dessert after lunch since it was right across the street. I ordered their pistachio olive cake and chocolate Truffle. The chocolate Truffle was the perfect snack size and was rich in flavor. The pistachio olive cake was also tasty.

I had been 3 times to this 💯 vegan & organic café during my stay in Portland, and it each time I experienced the same level of gratification! Everything I had, whether savory or sweet was wonderfully made and utterly delectable. The quality was top notch and the service was genuinely kind and helpful 💚 I remember I had a question about one of the plant based milk they used and the lady showed me a bottle of the organic cashew milk that was incorporated in lattés. Would love to be back! Bathroom was immaculate.

My goodness is this the cutest spot! Everything looks impeccable and so delicious, we had a hard time choosing! We cannot wait to come back!

i knew that orange & blossom was fantastic but the rosemary pear scone was so tender & texturally complex. the rosemary wasn’t too intense & the pear offered bite but blended beautifully. the dough wasn’t dense at all, had such a buttery crisp edge. wow . other notes: - kabocha cake is sooo good, the maple caramel is smokey & sexy, the buttercream is complex & has the perfect mouthfeel. i recommend with unsweetened tea or coffee - love the strength of the hazelnut in the financier - highly recommend the blossom brew :3 - masala chai is very cardamom forward & i LUV IT <3 everyone there is so friendly & helpful, thank you guys !!!!!!!!

Orange and Blossom is the absolute best bakery I’ve ever been to. My partner and I try to come here at least once a month (sometimes more). Our favorites are the dill pickle biscuits, anything with the almond frangipane, any of their sandwiches, tahini baked anything and their cardamom orange blossom buns. I am usually turned way off by vegan bakeries because the texture and flavors are just bland or too sweet. This place gets how to combine flavors, create baked goods that are equally as beautiful as they are tasty and even their decor is incredible (hello beautiful floral arrangements, cute accent wallpaper, adorable utensils/china and huge windows for natural lighting). Oh, and their coffee is delicious as well. Please support this incredible business. It deserves all the love and praise :)

I'm thrilled that there's a new Filipino bakery in my area! The interior is adorable and they have indoor seating. It's a great addition to Woodstock. They offer various tasty treats such as mini sans rival, ube crinkle cookies, ube cheese pandesal, and ube butter mochi at reasonable prices. They also serve Halo Halo, which I found delicious. However, I did wish it had flan and more toppings like ube ice cream.
A cool little spot in Woodstock area that is connected to a plant shop. We stopped in and had their ube hojicha latte, halo halo, and a couple of the pastries. The ube hojicha had a nice flavor to it and wasn't too sweet. The halo halo was refreshing. The combo of items in it made it fun to eat. The people working here were friendly and nice.

Super cute little spot. Grab a couple pastries to go and some iced beverages ( not overly sweet like most of this flavor can be we) since I don’t venture out to this area too often. Also tried the turon banana foster there was a vegan option for ice cream too! It’s over an hour drive for me but there doesn’t seem to be many Filipino bakeries in the area. Glad I came out to try to spot would come back again.

NOT TOO SWEET - you know this means a lot hahaha. The cupcakes with pandan leaves are really good, very chewy mochi texture with rich coconut flavor. Nice atmosphere - you can feel the humidity inside with the nursery area. The only 2 improbable things: 1) The halo halo bowls looks a bit cheap given the pastry plates are too cute, 2) we didn’t find the dirty dish tray when we want to clean up the table.

This is a very special place. The combined Bakery and dessert shop on the left is in the same space as the cute indoor plant store on the right. Every little touch in here including the restrooms is immaculate. Stand out food offerings are the Halo Halo, pictured. Today's ube crinkle cookie was totally flavorless but I'm going to let that pass.

Yummy halo halo. The interior and the deco is super modern and nice. They made it fresh behind the counter. The service was excellent. There are plenty of seating area for the diners. The halo halo is very good with taro ice cream. The presentation was excellent but it was served into a rather shallow bowl. It was difficult to eat without making a mess.

Ordered the ube crinkle and chai shortbread cookies, along with a hojicha latte. Everything was delicious, fresh, and well-made! The ube crinkle was my favorite -- soft, cakey, not too crumbly or overly sweet. This is the first time I've tried hojicha, and highly recommend it -- it's a toasty green tea, reminiscent of a gen maicha, turned into a latte. I loved it!The atmosphere is quiet, soothing, with lots of natural sunshine. Great place to stop and have a treat, daydream, and read a book.

Salt & Straw is an artisanal ice cream maker known for its quirky flavors and handmade waffle cones, drawing crowds to its parlors. The local chain has gained national recognition for its innovative approach to ice cream, offering unique flavors like turkey, stuffing, and mashed potatoes & gravy.
One of my go-to flavors here is the Pear & Blue Cheese—it's unique and always hits the spot. This time, I tried the Peanut Butter Brittle Caramel Fudge, which I really enjoyed. However, the Chocolate Caramel Corn with Candied Peanuts wasn’t for me—I should’ve sampled it first. Thankfully, they let you try as many flavors as you want before deciding. The staff is fantastic—super friendly and patient while people sample and make up their minds. We visited on a sunny day, which made the experience even better. There are spots to sit or stand both inside and out, and it’s a great place for people watching—some folks outside seemed to be there just for that! The only downside is parking—it can be tricky, and you might have to circle the block a few times. Still, we’ll definitely be back.

Salt & Straw is undoubtedly one of Portland’s most iconic ice cream shops, and for good reason. The ice cream is rich, creamy, and bursting with unique, seasonal flavors. The staff is always friendly, and they offer samples of their quirky flavors, which makes it fun to explore new combinations. I tried their honey lavender ice cream, and it was a perfect balance of floral sweetness and creamy texture. They also have dairy-free options, which is great for those with dietary restrictions. The atmosphere in the shop is charming, with a vintage-style interior and a cozy vibe. Salt & Straw is a must-visit if you’re in Portland, especially if you’re a fan of unusual flavor pairings. Whether you’re indulging in a scoop on a hot summer day or picking up a pint to take home, you won’t be disappointed by the quality and creativity of their ice cream.

Five Stars Isn’t Enough! Salt & Straw is hands-down the pinnacle of ice cream perfection in Oregon. Every visit feels like a gourmet adventure, and the creativity behind each flavor is unmatched. We’ve tried plenty of ice cream spots, but nothing comes close to this place. Our absolute flavor favorite? The Truffle Butter—rich, savory, and beautifully balanced. It blew our minds and instantly became our gold standard. Way better than the Duck Butter (which was still good!), but the Truffle Butter was on a whole other level. From the moment you walk in, the aroma, the welcoming vibe, and the sample-friendly staff make the experience unforgettable. Salt & Straw isn’t just an ice cream shop—it’s a flavor journey. If you’re in Oregon and don’t stop here, you’re seriously missing out!

Came in with some friends. They had patience of waiting for the long line but I did not. I just grabbed the pint of honey lavender flavor ice cream in their fridge then went straight to the cashier so I didnt have to wait in line. The ice cream was delicious and one of my favorite flavors, then 2nd would be blue cheese n pear flavor. The atmosphere was clean and the place smells like amazing vanilla scent because of the waffle cones they make there. One of my favorite ice cream places ❤️

I think this was literally the best ice cream I’ve had in my life. They offer a nice variety of flavors, including seasonal options that seem to rotate out. My favorite was the cinnamon snickerdoodle. All the staff was very kind, and there was plenty of sitting and standing tables inside.
Mackfrack — Google review
I liked that this store opened late and it had very unique flavours. The aesthetic of the place is also very different for an icecream store, but in a cool way! I like that they give you the option to try the flavours before purchasing, and that they have dog ice creams as well! I tried the blue cheese and pear icecream and it was super refreshing. Staff was nice, and the wait wasn’t too long.

A quintessential Portland restaurant. It is very Portland like atmosphere. The food is good, just hope they have a slightly larger menu. But that maybe the part it makes a Portland restaurant. Service is good and staff are nice. I wish I had a bigger stomach to enjoy their dessert. Nice place to hang out.

We happened upon Papa Haydn while walking and decided to come back for dinner. It was one of the best decisions of our whole vacation. We didn't have reservations, but they seated us quickly. But, it was down hill from there. Placed our order and waited and waited and waited. 40 minutes later we were served. Then we made the error of ordering their famous desserts and waited and waited and waited. They were not busy, but somehow everything took a very long. The food quality is only average. The desserts look the part, but are really hit or miss. Finally, this place does have a kids menu, but it really isn't kid friendly. Everyone will give you're group dirty looks if you bring in kids under 12.

My crab cake was cool and the egg was cold. Luckily potatoes very hot to bring some warmth to the dish. For those prices I expected more. . When I brought it home and reheated my liking. My partner who is a chef tasted it and said they must be afraid of the salt shaker there :(

Visiting from Texas, I didn't expect to be blown away by the filet mignon, easily one of the best I've had. Just the right amount of char and a sweet sauce to balance the bitterness. The broccoli and potatoes wanted a little salt but that may just be my palette. Really enjoyed the cocktails as well, they weren't overpowering and really delivered on the described flavor. Brittany's service was attentive and much appreciated, the entire staff was very pleasant as well. Edit as of summer 2025: They've improved on perfection, the Collete steak absolutely impresses with a chimichurri sauce and buttery savor to support the potatoes and asparagus. 10/10 They update their menu fairly often, the ribeye is still very good although sides are now a la carte, the included sweet salad was quite good

The menu features gooey grilled cheese, flavor-filled garlic fries, light chocolate mousse, pizzas, soups, sandwiches, and salads.
Our first visit to Portland wouldn't have been complete without a stop at one of the iconic Elephants Delicatessens. If this is your first visit, take your time to study the menus at each food station. Don't forget to grab a beverage. We had a ham & cheese sandwich and fish tacos. Both were very good, except that the bread on the sandwich fell apart in pieces as my husband was eating it--not a good sign of really fresh bread.

This is my go-to in the neighborhood when I just cannot figure out what the heck I want to eat. I always end up finding something here that hits the spot I'm continually impressed by how they're able to offer such a wide variety of food without sacrificing quality. Great place to bring a family with diverse tastes. Prices are pretty up there though; if you're not careful you can accidentally spend way too much, fast. I don't think their prices are unreasonable given that they're a small(ish) business competing in this crazy economy, and the food's really good! But still, something to know if you're on a tighter budget

Definitely worth a visit just for the atmosphere. Lots of food options and drinks. It's not a typical restaurant where you are seated by a server. You just walk in, look around and order food at the counter. They give you a ticket and you go to a check out counter (different from where you order the food) and pay. Then you just wait and grab your food when your name is called. This would be a good place for a weekend brunch.

If you're on the hunt for a delightful treat, look no further than Ruby Jewel Ice Cream. This charming scoop shop specializes in crafting unique ice cream sandwiches that pair freshly baked cookies with rich, creamy ice cream. With locations scattered around town, Ruby Jewel offers an enticing selection of flavors like Mint Chocolate Chip and Lemon + Honey Lavender, which you might even find pre-packaged at local grocery stores like Fred Meyer or New Seasons.
Does this place even need more reviews? I live on the next block which can be a dangerous thing and I have to stop myself from going there every night after dinner. The Oregon strawberry and the salted caramel are perennial faves. These days they have a new flavour - the maple pecan pie and the earl grey - tried those recently and whew they were amazing. I save the cookie sandwiches for special occasions as they can be quite decadent, it's a good idea to mix choose different cookies for the top and bottom, that way you can try two cookie flavours. Locals do not need this information, but if you are visiting Portland, you HAVE to eat this ice cream, forget some of the other pretentious places. Also, there is another ruby jewel store on NW 23rd ave, which is larger and has a big seating space inside. Be sure to check that out too. Can;t wait to bring my family here soon who will be visiting from abroad.

Very yummy homemade ice cream! I got the cookies and cream and loved it! They do have a good list of various flavors to choose from. You can also add a brownie to your ice cream, or have it served in a cone bowl. The restaurant itself is decorated very nicely. The staff wasn't super friendly, but they weren't rude at all either. The smell of freshly baked cookies on 11th had been tempting me to try this place for a while. Finally went and settled on the mint chocolate chip on double chocolate chip cookies. Ice cream was nice and minty. I feel like it was excessively sweet, and the chocolate could have been a bit better quality, but it was good. Cookies, however, did not seem fresh (they were very dry and overly sugary), so I would recommend asking for fresh ones, especially at that price ($6)! Maybe then they'd be soft and delicious! Worker set-up seemed a little inefficient and was told to wrap around the line dividers even though we were the only ones waiting to be served, so that was a little weird... but nice, fun vibe and interesting flavors, too, like lavender honey.

I was visiting Portland for two nights this week, and stayed at a hotel close to Lovejooy Bakers. I stopped in for a quick bite on my way to Powell's Books. I was hoping to get another salad but didn't want to inconvenience them if they were closing up. I really loved the vibe here! The coffee was GOOD - as I’m still a rich coffee flavor but without sacrificing the flavor of the syrup I chose (cardamom). For food, I had the egg tapenade sandwich and a cookie - both were satisfying in the way that they weren’t huge but still kept me full for hours. I also really enjoyed seeing how comfortable other customers were and how lively the staff were. It’s a true community here and brightened up my whole week

I had a drip coffee that was meh, but the avocado toast was pretty good - the bread was definitely the highlight. The girl at the counter was curt and rude, which is why I gave a 2 star rating for the service, if I'm going to pay 8 bucks for avocado toast please be polite. I overheard other staff who didn't seem to possess the same intolerant attitude. The atmosphere is conducive to working or studying, not ideal for socializing.

These folks are consistent. The breakfast sandwiches are delish, they have comfortable, clean seating, including some outside, and the coffee is great. They also have rotating specials. This location has a beautiful mural on the outside AND they maintain it. Thank you!

I ordered croissants and coffee. The coffee was ok but the croissants were tough. A good croissant should shatter and have crumbs on my plate. Nothing. It was like they were day old or frozen. Luckily there are more bakeries in the neighborhood.

Amazing breakfast cafe in Portland, with outside seating to enjoy on a warm summer day. My partner and I joined our son and his girlfriend for breakfast during our first full day visiting Portland. Two of us ordered a Cappuccino while two ordered the iced Chai. The coffee was very good and the iced Chai was a welcome treat. For breakfast, I ordered the Homemade Granola with Greek Yogurt. The flavors were a nice fresh mix with dried cranberries as a treat. My partner ordered the Avocado toast and enjoyed the fresh bread and flavors. Our son and his girlfriend both ordered the Egg & Fontina with butter on a Ciabatta roll, which they enjoyed. They also ordered a slice of the Coffee Cake with chocolate chips. Fantastic! Nice breakfast and the service is amazing. Worth a visit if your looking for a local breakfast cafe. Second visit for muffins and pastry. Third visit ordered their amazing coffee and a lemon cranberry muffin, so good.

Petunia's Pies & Pastries is a charming bakery cafe located in Portland, Oregon. It is known for its creative vegan and gluten-free desserts served in a relaxed and adorable space. The bakery offers a delectable lineup of sweets throughout the week, with the highlight being their gorgeous donuts available on weekends.
The special strawberry rhubarb cinnamon roll was something I will never forget. It was the perfect balance of sweetness. Plenty of options for everyone and the fact it is all gluten free even better. A place my wife and I will visit. We visit a lot of gluten free bakeries and this is one of the best around. Cozy atmosphere and welcoming staff.

Amazing 100% gluten free + vegan place …. Their coffee crumble was amazing. They also have coffee, sandwiches, and ice creams. Don’t know how they get the perfect cake like consistency with GF materials! Wanted to try everything because their food was better than any gf bakery place I’ve tried in Chicago. Highly recommend

Not gonna lie, I was looking through some of my old photos from our trip to Oregon last year and saw some pictures I took from Petunia’s pastries and just had to share how much I wish I lived in Oregon so I can have some of their pastries every day. SERIOUSLY, so good. We actually went there two days in a row before leaving the state bc we loved it so much. We were so excited bc they had fresh donuts that weekend (fried!!!! not baked!!finally!!) and omg they left me drooooolin. Their cinnamon rolls are heavenly! I think they were about to run out too so we had luck getting one! We also had a biscuit sandwich and I still remember how crumbly and buttery it was. I believe we had an Apple fritter as well which seriously blew my mind. Lol being vegan and gluten free, this is literal heaven. It’s SO hard to find vegan and gluten free things that actually taste good and have a good texture. Can’t wait to go back and visit for more. Greetings from Chicago!!

A super cute and delicious pastry shop that serves gluten-free pastries. They also have ice cream breakfast foods and a variety of drinks. I went in October and they had up Halloween decorations. The workers were super sweet and the atmosphere was very chill. I highly recommend checking them out if you’re in the Portland area.

A vegan paradise in the heart of Portland! Petunia's Pies & Pastries is a dream come true! From the moment you walk in, it feels like stepping into a little slice of heaven — warm, welcoming, and filled with the most delicious scents. Everything is 100% vegan and gluten-free. The flavors are incredible! I tried a few items (because how could I choose just one?) and every bite was perfection. The pastries are as beautiful as they are tasty, and the staff is kind and helpful. Whether you're vegan or not, you must visit this sweet little paradise. Petunia’s has officially stolen my heart!

Food- To start off I am not on a gluten free diet. I just came here cause it was close to Tanaka just next door. I tried one smores cupcake which was like basically $6 already. But I was like why not. That first bite threw me way off so quick. The frosting is soooo unbelievably sugary. And this is coming from someone who can handle "Crumbl" cookies. The cupcake was legit half frosting half cake. Its honestly just too much. Now the cake part is alright, tasted like chocolate. Its honestly just the frosting that has got to go. Service- The service was nice and quick.

Gluten free and vegan? Heaven on my tastebuds. I was excited to try this bakery and had them bookmarked. While walking around I noticed I wasn't too far away and dropped in for some baked goodies. The bakery is beautiful and inviting from the outside. The staff were all helpful and friendly, which is always a plus when patronizing a business. I opted for their pecan roll and the bday cupcake to go (because it smh bday)! I loved, loved my roll. I wished it could have been warmed up for that extra umph! It's been such a long time since I had the pleasure of enjoying baked goods that I wasn't scared would make me sick later. I also enjoyed their loose leaf black tea that was delicious without anything added. I would highly recommend even if you're not gluten or vegan.

Love love LOVE Petunia’s! The staff are all so friendly and helpful when choosing from so many delectable options. The space is bright and colourful with plenty of seating options and they even have a cute station for colouring! The savory menu options hit the spot but the desserts ate DOWN. The cinnamon roll and pecan sticky bun!? Hella good. Would highly recommended this dairy-free and gluten-free restaurant!

Potbelly is a chain that offers custom-made grilled sandwiches, salads, and baked goods with a nostalgic vibe. The eatery prides itself on its cleanliness and friendly staff. The manager, assumed to be in charge, was also helpful and pleasant. With an empty seating area, customers can enjoy their food while watching people pass by outside. The sandwiches are quickly prepared and have a satisfying taste.

We had some time to kill before attending a concert. We were pretty happy with size and quality of sandwiches. Service was interesting (slowish-confused cashier) but everyone was super nice though. Would eat here again!

It’s been brought to my attention by a former employee that this establishment does not follow safe food-handling protocols. That’s extremely concerning, not only because it puts customers’ health at risk, but because it violates the basic responsibility of any food service business to uphold health and safety standards. Please, do not eat here until they take this seriously and make the necessary changes. Businesses owe it to their community to serve food safely and with integrity.

We needed to get lunch for our staff of 35 people on a short notice. The online system would not take our order as it was less than 1.5 hour notice. I called in and the staff was amazing! They took our order and had it all ready on time. They went above and beyond and the food was delish! Will definitely order catering again when needed!

A subway-style sandwich shop, where you choose your bread type (simple or multigrain), size and toppings. The quality is better than subway though. Service is fast and staff are friendly. The only complain that I have is that they were out of avocados for my sandwich and they still charged me full price.

First time in. I came in around 10:30 am, place is very clean. The young woman who helped me was very pleasant and nice. Whom, I assumed to be the manager cashed me out and he was also very nice and helpful. The place was empty except for myself. It has great street view to people watch while you eat. I would come back. The sandwich was prepared fast and it was pretty tasty. Would recommend and will likely be going back. Pro-tip, if you join their reward program before you buy your first sandwich the app will give you another free one after your first purchase.

Oh… My… Goodness!!! 😃 I got to enjoy the Powerhouse Salad 🥗 and it was absolutely delicious!!! I really enjoyed the spicy 🌶️ hummus on it! It was sooo good! 🤩I want to make certain that I get this salad AT LEAST once a week. All of the ingredients are so fresh and the size of the salad is perfect! 👍🏾 Thank You Dear Potbelly! 😘😍❤️

I've been ordering delivery here and there, since I first tried Potbelly a few weeks ago. I work in the same big building. I never had any issues up until this time. There is almost nothing on my sub. It's completely flat, and barely even any cheese. Must be someone new working... No effort in making a nice sandwich. It's all just the bread. Not worth the $19 I spent on it. Update: I talked to one of the GMs, as I had told him a couple days ago what happened with this order. He asked me to come back in, so they could make up for the problem. I'm even more disappointed. There's even less meat on the sub that I received after going in, in person! This place is stingy on their sub fillings! Not worth how expensive they are! 👍🏼

Pizza restaurant
Dove Vivi is a small restaurant in Portland known for its unique cornmeal-crust pizzas and extensive vegan options. The modern-industrial room provides a cozy atmosphere to enjoy their super-crisp cornmeal crusts with layered toppings reminiscent of Chicago deep dish pizzas. The menu features combinations of ingredients like pesto, sweet corn, and Italian sausage, as well as a chef's choice option offering slices of six different pizzas for the indecisive.
So good! Been here a few times and it is always amazing. The staff is very friendly, attentive and casual (in a good way). The pizza is super interesting but don’t knock it until you try it… it’s one of my favorites spots because it is unique and delicious. They play with flavors in a genuinely delicious and thought out way. The menu has staples but also changing seasonal fresh items. And their wine selection is perfect. Not too intimidating and the staff know what they are serving well. Thank you! Love this place. Hard not to want to gate keep this place, but they deserve the love.

The food is good, but the food might just be a little bit overrated - the salad was a little overdressed, the pizza was good but the base could be crispier. The seating environment is amazing cause you're sitting in the front and it's got an amazing view. Their service is stellar. 7 stars on that. It's a very cozy, comfy place located on an easy to access place. Definitely go check it out and make your own opinion on the food. I’m Curtis to go here again with a group

Oh man, Dove Vivi, there's nothing like it and its absolutely delicious. My husband and I used used to live a few blocks away and would frequent this place many years ago, from around 2008-2010 until we moved out of town. We're close enough to enjoy it from time to time but it's been a good 6 years since we last visited. We happened to be in town last night and picked up our all time favorite, the corn pizza. Seriously the best! We were so happy it's just as we remembered and were happy to include our 2 kKids. It reminded us that we definitely need to take the trips back more often. Thanks for being so great!

One of the few restaurants in Portland that I crave and come back to again and again. We had the delightful sparking Italian red and a split of Bool bubbles, both delicious. We ALWAYS start with the kale salad, simply dressed and bursting with flavor and texture. We tried the stellar taco pizza, a wonderful marriage of cornmeal crust pizza and ground beef taco flavors. I thought the lettuce on top was the perfect crunch!! The other half of our pie was the tried and true sausage and peppers, a classic that we always get. Of course we had to get 3 chocolate chip cookies to go, one of the best in town!! The wait staff are wonderful, my daughter and I had such a nice visit!!

Delicious, unique pizza with Italian flavors that remind me of being in Italy. Friendly service. Pricey, but I think I got my money's worth. I had a half and half pizza of: Pesto, 5/5 Eggplant parmigiana: 5/5 Both had generous amounts of toppings, more than your normal pizza but certainly less than deep dish. Somewhere in the middle. The toppings also tasted very flavorful and high quality. The crust is fantastic. It's a cornmeal based and I've never had anything like it before. Almost like a biscuit crossed with deep dish pie crust. Excellent. I came in on my bike after doing the STP ride, and they were great about helping find a bag for me so I could bike back to my hotel with my pizza a celebratory dinner. Thanks y'all!
Keilan F — Google review
Wonderful spot. Delicious pizzas with a corn meal crust that is so unique. I am normally not a salad guy but theirs are exceptional and the mozzarella is to die for! The servers are always wonderful, Informative, and friendly. The only knock is the location is not the best, but there's not much they can do about it and they make the best of where they are at. If youre looking for a different high class puzza place with great sides and wines you won't find a better one!
Micah E — Google review
The cornmeal crust and amazing variety of toppings combos make it my favorite place for pizza in town. The service can be slow, but that's because it's very popular particularly for take out. I highly recommend you try any of their specials and also get at least half a pizza worth of their corn topped one.
Rand K — Google review
Yesss absolutely delicious!! Loved finding out you can get 1/2 a pizza with 1/2 another pizza, so I was able to get the regular Corn and my boyfriend got the cashew corn. Both were phenomenal - filled with flavor and the perfect crunch. Amazing corn crust. We’ll absolutely be back again!!

Kenny & Zuke's Delicatessen is a bustling spot known for its signature pastrami, bagels, and other deli fare. The Jewish-inspired delicatessen offers an authentic New York pastrami on rye experience with thick-cut meat that is cured, smoked, and steamed before being hand-carved to serve on house-made rye bread.
In town visiting and stopped by for a late breakfast. I'm not a fan of corned beef in general but theirs was delicious. I also liked their take on pastrami (below) not traditional but very good nonetheless. With an onion bialy. I'd go back.
Reuel W — Google review
I like Kenny and Zukes but it has changed since I went last which is a shame! Not really a delicatessen and brunch place anymore. Minimal deli. Only a small menu you order at the counter and served on paper plates. Bagel and lox was good but not a ton of lox. I loved that it came with veg and was open face and I loved the amount of capers! Didn’t love that the onions were pickled, threw off the perfect balance that is bagel and lox. Matzo ball soup was OK, matzo ball itself was good but soup wasn’t super flavorful. Regular breakfast sandwich on a bagel was bomb. Disappointing deli case: Only a brownie and a cookie in the case. No hamantaschen, no kugel, very empty shelves compared to what it used to be. I think ordering bagels, schmear, and lox to-go for a party or something is the best way to go. Nothing special inside anymore. I understand it just be difficult to continue to operate downtown when people aren’t working in office anymore, just sad to see.

I honestly can't say I've had anything better than this in NY let alone anywhere else. I've had stuff in NY that wasn't as good but this was just delicious. I had heard about Kenny and Zukes on the food Network and Travel Channel and it certainly looked like a place I would like but the reality was so much better. the meats were delicious, the bread was perfect and the assembly was spot on. The restaurant was in a coll location and the service was friendly and fast. My wife loved her Reuben and I think the pastrami and corned beef on my sandwich were the best I've had anywhere. The turkey was delicious as well and I always love a little Matzo Ball soup when I can find it. I will visit this place any time I am in Portland going forward.
Chris S — Google review
I wanted to like this place because I had heard good things from friends. The pricing is unreasonable for the product. I simply can't justify $18 for a bagel sandwich which is just as good as the $7 fare I used to get at my old haunt. The service is friendly enough. I guess if you have the extra scratch it works in a pinch.

Gluten Free Gem is a well-established brand in Portland, known for its high-quality gluten-free pastries like cookies, muffins, and brownies. These treats are widely available in local supermarkets and cafes across the city. The bakery now has its own retail shop and operates from a completely gluten-free facility, making its products suitable for those with varying degrees of gluten intolerance.
What a cute little bakery that has all sorts of fabulous gluten free items! Had the pretzel, the cinnamon roll and a bagel and was blown away at the flavor and the prices were reasonable and the service was fantastic. If you have the chance to visit this is where you want to go! Shared a cinnamon roll with someone who doesn’t eat gluten free and they said they can’t even tell the difference!

I had high hopes for this place but I was so disappointed. I only given it a 4 star because I really enjoyed the marionberry cheesecake and I'm very generous about the 4 star, the rest is disappointing. They have limited savory items and the one I tried was so dry, I only had one bite and it felt like sawdust in my mouth, well that sawdust savory slice of toast cost $7 that was thrown in the trash bin. I will only go back here to get that marionberry cheesecake but the latte and that horrible toast are way over priced. Update 5/14/2025 I'm changing my review to 5 star because of Kaytie's excellent customer service, she reached out to me and gave a $8 refund for the unedible toast.

Absolutely heavenly baked goods! My first visit was a late afternoon weekend, and pickins were slim, as should be expect in a popular bakery. This visit, we made it by 9am on a Friday, and there was plenty. I say was, as I cleared the place out. OK, not really. But, everything looks amazing and this maple pumpkin coffee cake is fantastic. I can't believe it's gluten free! I am a late bloomer to celiac, so remember good wheaty baked goods. This cake could compete against the best of the best. Will squirrel away the other 5 treats for later. (Elevensees, brunch, afternoon tea, dessert, late night treat!) I'm in love!

We ordered the most delicious gluten free cake for my sister and niece (both have Celiac disease.) We ordered a custom chocolate cake with chocolate ganache and vanilla buttercream frosting. SO NICE to not have to worry about any cross contamination - the cake was a huge win for our party! My sister and niece can't wait to try more gluten free items from Gem!

We used Gluten Free Gem for our wedding cake and it was PERFECT. My partner is celiac and I am dairy free + allergic to coconut, which makes it very hard to find a cake that we can both eat and GFG was able to make us a beautiful, delicious cake that was gone instantly.

Experience/Environment: Super cute. From the outside, the building has an old school vibe but there’s something about the windows and the angle of the building that I appreciate. It adds personality before you even walk in. Price: Dietary restrictions cost money. I’ll just leave it at that lol. Food: Everything is GF. I got a bunch of things so get ready… Lemon Poppy Seed Pound Cake: light fluffy, lemon “frost” on top was a banger. The cake wasn’t too sweet so it was the perfect paired with the flavor of the frosting. Lemon Twinkle Cookie: edges were crunchy to the soft but firm cookie. Lemon flavor was definitely apparent but there was also an almond flavor in there to me. Peanut Butter Power Bar: I refrigerated it overnight and pulled it out to snack on during my walk. It kind of just fell apart, which is fine. So I understand why it’s saran wrapped. You can taste the peanut butter, brown sugar, oats. I would’ve preferred the consistency be more granola bar esk but that’s a personal preference. Chocolate Chip Cookie: Delish. Chocolate was rich and balanced well with the cookie. Peach Coffee Cake: Consistency and flavor to perfection. One of our favorites. If you like coffee cakes and peach flavor, try this. ASAP. Honestly overall, everything was incredible. I only wish I was able to eat it all in a timely manner. After 2 days, quality starts to go naturally so 3 days shelf life max is what I’d recommend. Service: All the bags that the treats came in say “I’m a gem” which made me smile. Lol. Love a good pun. Especially when it’s cute. Everyone was super nice. It was great. NTT [[Next Time Try]]: Lemon bar. I love lemon, can you tell? I was distracted with all the other treats I didn’t order anything in the fridge case. But I’ll be back :)

Lovely Rita is a charming restaurant located in The Hoxton hotel in Portland. It offers a relaxing and romantic atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for couples looking for a special dining experience. The restaurant recently replaced La Neta at the hotel and has quickly become a favorite among many patrons. Guests have praised the chef's tasting menu, particularly highlighting the delicious yam dish. The staff is friendly and attentive, with the manager ensuring that guests feel like VIPs during their visit.
This newly opened restaurant is going to be a favorite place for a lot of people. We opted for the chef tasting menu and were very impressed! The yam dish really stole the show for me, a perfect dish in so many ways! Our server was very nice but a bit unfamiliar with the menu. Although, he did suggest an amazing wine that went so well with everything. The manager Alex was present and checked in on us at just the right moments. We felt like VIP guests!! Thank you :)

We went to a SoFar event in the lounge which was closed to the public. Such a comfy, cozy, chic hotel. They have chairs and couches in addition to bar chairs with tables and chairs throughout. The plants added to the warmth and coziness. We didn't eat. The bartender was overwhelmed but he dealt with it professionally. I heard they have a rooftop bar too!!! We'll have to go back and check it out.

We came to Portland for weekend from San Jose, California. We wish SJ has such a great places like La Neta! Interior, service and food are just awesome! Oysters look like a baby oysters but very tasty, charred octopus, guacamole, seafood cocktail and desserts (Orange Flan and Cinnamon ice cream) were so delicious! We highly recommend La Neta! Our waitress (unfortunately I don’t remember her name) was acting like she is our good friend!

Next time we are hitting the rooftop bar with friends! Le Neta for the win!

It was a Saturday night and didn't want to drive around Portland. Went here while staying in the hotel. There was only one other party in the restaurant, which was surprising given it was a Saturday night. The server was very friendly but forgot to order some of our food. They also served a terrible drink to our table. The server also acknowledged that it wasn't very good when serving it so I was confused why they even thought to bring it to our table. Also, got breakfast here in the morning at the coffee shop. It took over 45 minutes for the ricotta toast and acai bowl. I paid for it to be delivered to the room & since it took so long, I ended up coming down and grabbing it and leaving. They said they were waiting for the peaches... the peaches were AWFUL. It was like chomping on rocks. It would've been better without it.... & without waiting that long without telling me it was going to take that long. 2 stars since the salmon was deserving of 5 stars.

Champagne Poetry Patisserie, located in Hawthorne, is a beautiful and delicious spot known for its eye-appealing pastries and friendly staff. The ambiance is perfect with its pink decor and floral arrangements. Customers highly recommend this patisserie for its Instagram-worthy treats like the rainbow crepe cake and tiramisu crepe cake. The place offers a variety of delightful baked goods including cookies, cheesecake, Japanese bread, and fluffy pancakes.
Stepping through the doors felt like entering a edible art gallery. Each pastry is a tiny masterpiece, almost too beautiful to eat... almost. But then you take a bite, and wow. The flavors are incredibly nuanced and sophisticated, a true dance on the palate. This isn't just dessert; it's an experience. The service was impeccable too, attentive without being intrusive. If you're looking for a treat that elevates your day from ordinary to extraordinary, this is the place. Prepare to be enchanted!

Cute decor but sad to drive an hour for food not worth the hype. We tried 3 things the peach, the Christmas tree thing and the bus rose. They all pretty much taste the same. Very heavy on the whipping cream. Almost little to none of the flavors advertised. Maybe if the fruit filling hadn't been frozen so hard we barely could barely get a fork through it, than maybe that would've added to the over all flavor. Very pretty, but not as tasty as it looks. And the boys at the counter couldn't have seemed less pleased to be here.

This is definitely a hype-beast influencer type place. I have to agree with the reviews here. Depending on when you visit, it’s a hit and miss. During this visit, the employers were super nice and inviting but the parking sucks. There are a lot of cool shops around the area, so walking from a couple of blocks down is okay and recommended. I did like that the place was clean and the theme of the place, but the prices did not fit the taste for me. They did look super fun and cool, but the prices are not matching the hype. I give it a 5 out of 5 for Uniqueness and we do need more places like this in Oregon, but there’s still something missing. Their target audience definitely is teenage and younger people.

I have been here before a long time ago and it was great so I brought my kid. We loved our cakes the Marion berry cheesecake was the best. I thought I'd like the berry rose one best but it was too rich for me! I put the one I got from my previous trip on here as well it is the one on the white plate. The plate upgrade was wicked cute. Not in love with tip prompt then bus your own table and the water is out- if there is no service involved, tips shouldn't be a thing IMO.

I was initially a little disappointed they didn't have their signature souffle pancakes, but the avocado toast was tasty and satisfying. The pinecone cake was good. My favorite thing was the Passion Palmer. Unique and refreshing!

Such a fun vibe! All the pink, the characters, the gorgeous desert case…. More like art! So fun! Dessert was light, full of texture. It was a great experience. Next time I’ll try the cheesecake!

We’ve had this place on our list for months and made time to stop in over the weekend. We actually wanted to come for dinner but when we got to the other location around 5:30, the female working told us “we’re closing the kitchen because it’s been a slow day” which was unprofessional in our opinion. They haven’t been doing dinner long so why would you close on a “slow day” ? Made no sense. Especially on a summer and a weekend. It was such a turn off that we will not return. Anyways, we came and got dessert at the Hawthorne location and the customer service was lacking. No greeting, no “hi, how can I help you?”… The mango dessert was good and very sweet and the Ube roll was okay. Very lightly sweet. Will not be returning to either location.

Cute space w/a couple outside patio tables. Hope you like pink! Lovely people, even lovelier pastries. 😉 Yummy egg tarts. Also tried the souffle pancakes for brunch - so good! But also so rich! 😕 Next time I'll have them put the syrup on the side - it was too much for me.

Grand Central Bowl & Arcade is a vibrant destination in the heart of Portland, perfect for an entertaining night out. This upscale bowling alley boasts ten well-maintained lanes and a lively atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for date nights or gatherings with friends. The venue features a billiards lounge and multiple TVs to keep you entertained while enjoying their eclectic American menu. Since its recent culinary upgrades, Grand Central has become known for its surprisingly delicious food offerings that go beyond typical bowling alley fare.
Had an awesome time bowling at Grand Central! We walked in at 10 PM on a Friday night and got a lane right away. Logan was amazing—super energetic and helpful, which made the experience even better. Our family of six bowled for a little over an hour (not to brag, but I bowled a 200!). After bowling, we headed upstairs for arcade games. They had a great variety, and the ticket redemption kiosks made it easy to cash in for prizes. We also ordered nachos while bowling, and they were delicious! The chipotle sour cream was a game-changer. I personally love soaking the chips to make them softer (braces life!). The overall atmosphere was fun and lively—definitely a great spot for a night out! Thank you Logan and John!

Food is definitely better than expected and they have some tasty cocktails. We've been here a few times and servers are nice, I enjoy the party vibe with sports projected at the end of the lanes. I don't love the prices.

Excellent food, A++ service, MANY TV'S, cool video games like the driving sit down kind, modern bowling lanes (though I haven't played the new lanes yet- just the pre-renovation era lol! But I surely will soon.)

My wife and I had our wedding afterparty at Grand Central recently. It was PERFECT! Haley was so helpful with the planning, and more than willing to work with us to create something special. The staff is excellent, the food was great. I would highly recommend a full buyout of Grand Central for your wedding afterparty (or any private event!) if you're looking for something that is unique and fun!

This place sucks so bad. Go to King pins, you’ll get a much better experience. Okay so we went a few weeks ago. The total was over $100 , so we tried paying with cash and they said they couldn’t take our $100 bill because they’ve had a lot of fraud issues lately. How the hell is that my problem? Money is money there is multiple ways to check bills. There were a lot of ball weights unavailable. They literally don’t have enough balls for everyone which is ridiculous. Our lane broke down halfway through so they made us move over. This place is run down, over priced and when they didn’t take our money we should have just left right then and there.
Genevieve G — Google review
Extremely disappointing experience. We waited a long time without being acknowledged or served, and when we finally voiced our frustration, we were told to leave if we didn’t like the service. That kind of attitude says everything about how this place values its customers. I’d recommend thinking twice before spending your money here—there are plenty of other sports bars that actually appreciate their guests and understand basic customer service.

PDX Cookie Co is a bakery in southeast Portland that specializes in cookies of all kinds. They have their own variety packs with six of their most popular cookies, as well as their own unique flavors such as Oreo cheesecake and Red Velvet.
Received a mystery box tonight and it was delicious. Tonight we tried the garbage can cookie bar. The Triple Chip and the Dark night. All were delicious and i like the fact that there ready to go or you have options to heat them up. Anyways! Thanks for an amazing cookie!
Justin E — Google review
This is my 3rd time ordering from them and their cookies never miss. I would highly recommend starting with their GOAT pack. Love them so much. An they are in amazing condition for traveling across the country. An they arrive quickly. The store is located in Oregon and I’m in Kentucky and I usually receive them less than a week after ordering. 😋 so go order you some bomb ass cookies!!!!
Jasmine C — Google review
These cookies are the best cookies you've ever had! First off, you have to slightly heat them to get that goo pull that their ad pictures show, but they are even better warm. The store smells really good, and they keep having different recipes that all make you drool as you read them. Bad for the diet, good for the soul!
Daniel E — Google review
Full disclosure: I do not have a sweet tooth, so the cookies, while absolutely delicious, were WAY too much sugar for myself. Even my wife had to break up devouring one of the cookies over multiple nights; that said, they made GREAT emergency rations when her blood sugar started to drop! Our cookie-craving friend, however, had no such compunctions about downing more than one cookie in a single sitting, so it goes to show that if you are the type of person who couldnt live without cookies, cakes and confections in their life on a daily basis, then PDX Cookie Co is your jam, without the jam!

PDX Cookie Co. has become one of my all-time favorite dessert spots. I’ve tried a bunch of their flavors, and while they’re all amazing, any of the Biscoff-based ones are next level—seriously, some of the best cookies I’ve ever had. Highly recommend microwaving them for a few seconds to get that warm, gooey center, and pairing it with a cold glass of milk—it's an elevated dessert experience that hits every time. Each bite feels like flavor heaven. I’m definitely going to miss being able to stop by after I move out of Oregon, but I’m glad they offer shipping—I’ll absolutely be placing orders from afar!

Boasting the biggest and best, the cookies at PDX Cookies are definitely dense! Unless you’ve got a major sweet tooth, don’t expect to finish one of these cookies in one sitting. Price was reasonable for how rich these cookies were, and they have free stickers. Would love to have one of these cookies freshly baked; they come pre-packaged.

Dimo’s Apizza is a delightful spot that captures the essence of New Haven-style pizza in a relaxed atmosphere. With an inviting outdoor dining area featuring picnic tables, it’s perfect for enjoying their renowned pizzas alongside a selection of wines and beers. While the pizza steals the show, don’t overlook their lunchtime-only grinders, which often include an Italian option and rotating specials showcased on Instagram—like the mouthwatering eggplant parm. Each bite is a cheesy, saucy delight that leaves you craving more.
I've been here a couple times now and have had a pretty good experience. You do order at the counter and then find a place to sit. The place has both indoor and outdoor seating available. We ordered the White Pie and a Spicy Pepperoni Pizza. It was actually pretty amazing at how quick it came out for us. They cook the pizzas in the regular oven style and then finish them off in the wood fired oven. Both of the pizzas were super tasty, each with its own unique flavor. I would come here again to try the other pizzas as well as their other items.
Charlie T — Google review
The SPICY RIGATONI ALLA VODKA was great. NYC great, close to Rome great. The Dimo fries were also great, but make sure to mix up the cheese toppings so you can enjoy them. The fries are a bit bland without them. The Ceasar was good, but not my favorite. I will try the Tricolor next time. Their pepperoni is delicious, not too salty. The pizza is good, I enjoyed the crusts a lot, but would like a bit more color on the bottom. The edges were perfect though! I'm going to New Haven soon, so it will interesting to compare it to the original pizza style. All in all. 100% coming back to try their other sides and the Pastas.

Can’t wait to go back and try the pasta and sandwiches

Great pizza crispy crust more of thin crust. I especially liked the white pie only thing I’d do next time is get some meat option. The crispy rustic potatoes were filling too.

Out of the numerous pizza spots in Portland, Dimo's just hits a little different and doesn't feel like just another pizza joint. The perfectly charred, thin and crispy yet chewy crust is something special. I usually go for the Tie Dye Pie which is a must-try. Also love their sides and salads which are legit. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed and can get a bit loud when super busy. Have seen it get quite busy at peak hours and weekends and we've waited sometimes for about an hour to get our pizza but it has always been worth the wait. Parking inside their lot is very limited but street parking nearby shouldn't be too difficult to find. Overall a great spot for a low-key dinner with friends or family. Just be prepared to get addicted to that crust and their pizza flavors which are unlike any other in the city.

Keeper Coffee Co, a charming Portland cafe, has been thriving since its opening in 2020. The cafe's success is owed to its exceptional coffee knowledge and mouthwatering homemade pastries that draw long lines daily. The interior exudes warmth with classic wooden chairs, clean marble tables, and a bright white decor. Using Coava Coffee beans, the well-curated menu features seasonal homemade syrups like elderberry and jasmine.
LOVE this little coffee shop! It's so cute and cozy, and staff are always incredibly friendly. Hands down, my favorite coffee shop in Portland. They have a good selection of sweet and savory pastries. I've gotten an iced matcha multiple times, and it never disappoints.

A busy cafe in a quaint SE Portland neighborhood. The cozy place got great lattes. Both the matcha and cafe lattes were delicious. Wonderful latte art by the baristas. This cafe is a keeper (pun intended). Highly recommended!
David G — Google review
After doing some research before flying into PDX for a father/daughter trip this little coffee shop came highly recommended and I can see why. Its everything anyone could possibly want in a local corner coffee and pastry shop! Quaint and cozy and obviously very popular as we went in mid week on a Wednesday around 930/10 and it was full inside. Fortunately didnt have to deal with any long lines but even of there were it would be so worth it. Friendly baristas and everyone behind the counter also seemed happy and pleasant. My daughter settled on an iced oat milk latte, I had a mocha, and we split a marionberry galette and some zucchini bread. Both coffees were amazing (the iced latte was smooth and refreshing and the mocha was rich but not overly sweet (perfect) and loved loved loved the marionberry pastry!!! Loved the area and the vibe inside and wouldnt hesitate to come back again. Wish there were more places like this back in SoCal however its just not the same without this fantastic cool, wet, and foggy fall PDX weather which I love!

Great coffee and food but even better they’re super warm and kind and very quick service! simply one of the best cafes in portland! absolutely everything here is perfect - from the staff, to the pastries, to the skills of the baristas, to the seasonal drinkies. i absolutely adore this business and will come to get a coffee & pastry every time i have a little splurge money. it’s a little on the pricey side but it’s worth every penny. there’s included gratuity and i usually still tip on top because everything is SO good! they offer great vegan options , too. the fresh focaccia sandwiches changed my life. the rose pistachio cookies are one of my favorite treats ever. i could go on and on… i love this place 💌

Emily D — Google review
Portland favorite. Great coffee, even better pastries (get the galette, heated). I wouldn’t dare go on the weekend between 9-11:30…you’re waiting in line for 20 minutes, plus 10 minutes for them to make your coffee. Coava coffee is served at 90% of Portland cafes, so you can get the same drink almost anywhere else. Any other time or weekday though, you’ll be fine. Fruit danish is also great, but in the winter they change it to pumpkin and it’s just not good imo — it makes the flavor super dense and the dries out the croissant. It’s like eating peanut butter in a croissant, just sticks to your mouth and needs a different texture. I love this place, can’t wait for the second location to open. Edit: Okay, I’ve loved this place for years. BUT. In the past few months I’ve gotten the galette (my fave pastry in town) and it appears to no longer have mascarpone. There used to be a bed of fresh cream below the fruit (first pic) and now it’s just tart fruit with no cream (second pic). But maybe I just got a bad batch.

The menu features vegetarian versions of classic favorites like clubhouses and chicken salad combos. Absolutely wonderful restaurant. Second visit I decided to eat in. The worker was very kind, thoughtful, and insightful. Answered all my questions with a great attitude. Inside of the restaurant was comfy, clean, and I personally like the touch of having the dry and canned ingredients visible. The portion sizes are bigger than expected and the food is very fresh and delicious. The salad lettuce was super crisp and the panini was nice and hot! Great price for quality vegan food.

The service was grate. It was definitely strange they only have fries 2 days of the week but the sour cream and onion chips were crazy good. The breakfast sandwich is absolutely amazing. The wings were undercooked and did not have enough sauce but we also got the house burger that was very good and the BLTA was also good but bland. The sauce selection near the water bar is great, Overall it was good and we will be back to try more of the menu. The drink selection was also super good 😊

This was a great spot to enjoy a vegan sandwich. We got the Cajun chicken and the Italian. Both were excellent. The soy curls were wonderfully seasoned-reminded us of a spicy shrimp poboy. Service was extremely friendly and bathroom convenient for my knee scooter access!! Will be back!!!

Every sandwich at DC Veg is absolute fire. 🔥🍔 From the steak and cheese to the War Eagle to the PoBoy. But my favorite thing to do is eat there for lunch with my partner and take a large chicken salad to go—digging into that for a late night snack is 🤤. Plus, they have the old school dinner glasses for fountain soda, which gives it that extra something. Walk, don’t run for your next lunch date.

This is a good vegetarian restaurant with several options to choose from. We ordered the classic burger, Italian sub, and kale salad. The sub was the best of these three, and I wouldn’t order the burger again since it was kind of bland. We had excellent service, and we liked the art selection

Amazing sandwiches! On the expensive side, but worth it every once in awhile. Got the BBL (bacon beets lettuce 🤭) which was $16, and was blown away by how yummy it was. Would def come back to try their breakfast items! Very cute and ecclectic inside, and staff is really friendly.

Not very welcoming. Waited over 20 min for a to-go b-fast sandwich. Okay, fine it was kind of busy. But when I get my sandwich and it’s sloppily made it’s so disappointing. At least spread the aioli over the bun. I also paid extra for an egg on a breakfast sandwich? Do better.

We have been to Portland about half a dozen times and I am so glad we finally found this wonderul establishment. Everything here was awesome. The food, the service, the guys working and running the joint, all of it. I researched best breakfast burritos in Portland and this spot showed up. I read a little bit of the description and knew this is where I was headed. The ham, egg, and cheese was melt in your mouth good, the beef and blue cheese was out loud "mmmm" good, and the burrito might have been one of the best things we ate this year with our stay in Portland. They do little things well, like fresh baked breads and what not. They had positive vibes all the way and I can't wait to return next year. I highly recommend to any locals and out of towners alike. Treat is a cozy cafe and bakery located in downtown Vancouver, offering a variety of sweet treats such as cookies, cupcakes, ice cream sandwiches, mini-pies, and coffee. The salted cookie is a standout with its gooey center and crispy edges. The ice cream selection includes about 10 flavors with the coconut fudge and salted caramel being particularly delicious. While prices may be on the higher side, the quality justifies it.
We were waiting in line at the salt and straw and it was hot and taking awhile when my husband looked up other places and we found Treat. We decided to drive over and I think we made the right decision for our ice cream spot. The salted peanut butter cup, and the butter cake ice cream are AMAZING!! (Pictured right) My husband went with more classic flavored got cookies and cream and something else (pictured left). He tried my ice cream and said it was the best he’s had also! I wish I could have more of that ice cream it was the best!

I try to avoid a lot of sugar as much as possible, so when I do eat it it has to be worth it! Treat has great ice cream. It is perfectly chunky with a lot mix ins which is just how I like it. I have tried a few of their flavors but the main standout is the peanut butter cup and the coffee toffee. Their cookie dough is okay. Salt and straws and the ice cream place over on woodstocks is better. While there isn’t anywhere to sit inside, there are picnic tables outside. The only downside here is that the inside could be designed better. It is awkward to walk in and wait in the line with little room to move so people hold the door and wait outside or crowd around the register. Overall best ice cream for the price in downtown Vancouver

The best ice cream place in downtown Vancouver is not Salt & Straw... It is Treat! They make absolutely delicious ice cream and delicious mix ins. This day I got my favorite butter cake ice cream with a split scoop of their special brambleberry crisp on a fresh made waffle cone. It was absolutely delicious. The butter cake has the rich slightly salty butter flavor mixed in with sweet base of the ice cream. A simple instant classic. The crisp was delicious and fruity. I highly recommend Treat for any trip downtown in the summer.

Wow, I’m a caramel fan and there’s some competitive caramel flavors around the Portland and Vancouver area. The salted caramel and salted Peanut Butter were sublime!

Dos Hermanos Bakery is a popular spot in SE Portland, known for its fantastic sandwiches and specialty items like lobster rolls. The bakery offers a wide variety of breads and pastries, with special items available weekly. Customers can pre-order via email for added convenience. The bakery also has great customer service and a retail window where you can get freshly made treats. Their sourdough bread is particularly praised, drawing customers from as far as 45 minutes away.
On my quest of finding all the top sandwich joints in Portland, I made this new discovery of another amazing sandwich shop and bakery. The chopped sandwiches are unique and tasty. The bread is amazing. Not sure how long this place has been around but I am glad to have found this place and will be back. Oh, and the chocolate chip cookies are awesome!
David F — Google review
I guess I adore chopped sandwiches now! Or you know what? I adore Dos Hermanos bread, because that’s really what was doing the heavy lifting on each of the three sandwiches we got and sampled. Unless you’re feeding a family of four the half sandwich is more than enough. We love the spice on the Italian sub (BadaBing). Spice lovers, I suggest you get some jalapeño chips if you don’t get a sandwich that has something spicy or zesty. We had no problem eating our sandwiches in the air conditioned bar next-door, it was a hot day and the café was really really warm. The guy in the bar next-door was super kind and accommodating and said we didn’t have to buy anything to eat there, (tho we did). Can’t wait to come back here!

Incredible!! The CHOPPED SANDWICHES!!! so rare in portland and they are amazing. Obviously the bread and pastries were great. I loved the space too. Service was fantastic. I’m such a big fan you will see me here often!
Addie O — Google review
This chop sandwich was incredible on the sesame sead roll. It's a huge portion a full sandwich it plenty for two too share. Great balance of flavors. Good service from happy people. Worth checking out.
Tim W — Google review
I had high expectations for the sandwich that I’ve heard about, maybe too high. The chopped sandwiches are literally chopped to oblivion and in my opinion you are taking away some of the flavor. The sandwiches are really dry, the rolls being used only compound that dryness. They’re just alright, I wouldn’t get another one myself. I give it a 4 star rating because their Mexican bakery items are 5 star delicious Service is always friendly even if a tad slow, and it’s a lively atmosphere inside, plus you can eat outside on nice days next door at the food carts patio.
Pizza P — Google review
I really like their bread but I haven't dialed in my favorite chopped sandwich here. I also wish the bread was toasted. The whole sandwiches are gigantic!!! --- sandwiches --- These are at around a 4 star for me right now Cochinita pibil ⭐⭐⭐✨ - typically like Cochinita pibil, but this was just ok for me, maybe I just dont love it in a sandwich or it needed more vegetables - I like the habanero salsa with this tho BLTA⭐⭐⭐⭐ - This is good but won't blow your mind - it tastes better toasted as a leftover because the cheese melts and it's amazing, the bacon also gets crispier --- bread --- Sour dough ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - not too sour but really delicious and good texture

Magnetic aroma wafting out the entrance Display of over 20 different Mexican and French pastries DH breakfast sandwich on fresh baked ciabatta, with bacon and chimichurri Very clean and freshly remodeled bathroom
Chris M — Google review
I love this place. 5 stars for the smells alone. We got pastries and coffee and bread to bring home. Absolutely delicious, I can't wait to go back. The service was very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is a little different because the bakery itself is really exposed and a little industrial, but I liked it.

Jen's Pastries is a beloved bakery in Portland, known for its soft and chewy cookies with a unique nutty flavor and a hint of salt. The menu changes weekly, showcasing the owner's passion and ambition. While some items like the Sundae muffin croissant may not always be fresh, the delicious cakes make up for it. This hidden gem partners with local coffee shops but opens to the public on weekends, offering seasonal pastries at their freshest.
Jen’s is my favorite bakery in Portland. Their baked goods are consistently delicious and there is always something creative and new to try, which as someone who goes nearly weekly makes it a new and fun experience every time! The staff is so sweet, have great recommendations and get you your pastries so fast! My favorite things are their savory croissants and their cake slices, as well as their bolos! But everything is delicious, I can’t recommend enough.
Kathleen M — Google review
Simply divine!!! We live 1.5hrs away but make the drive because it’s that good! We have never had something we didn’t like, which is saying something. The staff are always friendly and the obvious care and compassion for humanity make Jens a home run. Run don’t walk!
Erika J — Google review
We got our wedding cake from Jen's Pastries and it was absolutely perfect! We were looking for a smaller cake to serve around 40 guests, with whimsical decorations that included natural touches like fruit and flowers — and they brought that vision to life so beautifully. Not only was the cake stunning, but it was also incredibly delicious! We chose Lemon with Lemon Buttercream Frosting and Raspberry Curd, and every bite was heavenly. For the level of care, artistry, and overall experience (not to mention flavor!), the price was so reasonable. Truly a 10/10 recommendation! :)
Victoria B — Google review
I went on a rainy day but not so shockingly, there was still a line for their delicious treats. They had everything from sweet to savory. Very creative offerings as well. I had a Thai Tea Cruffin, Asiago and Caramelized Onion Croissant, Mexican Corn Croissant, and the Honey Orange Peach cake. All were perfectly balanced and made with care. They also offer simple things like ham and cheese croissants or plain items if you’re not as adventurous. If you like supporting a local business doing good for the community, I highly recommend Jen’s Pastries.
Cathy B — Google review
Hands down, the best pastries in Portland. The *gem* of John's Landing neighborhood. Get here early as they sell out quickly, and each weekend the menu changes as Jen and her team are always cooking up creative new treats! But there are a few staples I'll always recommend: the chive cream cheese everything poptart (absolutely addicting) bolos, morning roll, and ginger molasses cookie!!! Thank you Jen and crew 🥐🍰🥧🍪
Vivian O — Google review
Have actually been here several times plus ordered custom cakes and love the unique and rotating offerings and local flavors. They also will sporadically do baked good fundraisers for human rights causes. Getting a crowd of bigots sent after you for sticking up for the rights of immigrants should in no way affect someone's Google reviews, but here we are. You go Jen and team! The people with true respect for humans will keep coming back.

I made a trip out to Portland, around a visit to Jen's Pastries, after seeing a delicious dessert on IG. It was SO well worth it! Not only were all the pastries amazing, but the team was absolutely incredible! Shout out to Jackie for making it such a special stop for me and my husband. We tried a couple of items from each section of the menu, and every single one was a hit. The flavors are so creative and balanced. I also have to say that I am proud to be a customer of a business that stands its ground on social justice issues! Keep doing what ya'll are doing, and I hope I can plan another trip in the future. Thanks team!!

I have been following this place on instagram and finally got to try it! We got there a little after 9 on a Sunday and there was barely a line. We got 2 slices of cake, s’mores cup, blueberry muffin, and a day old box of savory pastries for about 40$. Even for being from yesterday the savory pastries were so good, especially the French onion pop tart! Everything tasted amazing and can’t wait to go back and try more!

Alma Chocolate is a charming candy shop that offers a delightful array of handmade chocolates, bonbons, minibars, toffees, caramel sauces, and drinks. The store is renowned for its dark chocolate icons adorned with edible 23K gold and aphrodisiacal bonbons. In addition to these well-known treats, Alma also surprises visitors with little-known cookies made from rich 74-percent Dominican chocolate.
Chocolate espresso all in one!! Exactly what we needed after our hike. It's called Biceroi I believe. Really good, wasn't what I expected at first but glad we gave it a try. Very pleased!

Heaven is a place on earth with Alma drinking chocolate. Love the staff at this location and the petite cafe with cozy chandeliers.
R R — Google review
Some of the best chocolate cake I have had, great cookies, great caramel sundae too! Plus the person behind the counter was absolutely awesome! And I thought prices were pretty reasonable compared to some of the other dessert places I've been to in Portland. Great neighborhood! Walk around and check it out!
Christopher M — Google review
This chocolate is so good! Every time I eat it, I think, "I'm so glad to be alive right now to savor this moment." If I'm in the area, I stop by to get a nibble. Also a favorite place to stop for a snack mid-tour if I'm showing homes in the area with clients. Out of area clients love it! Also love to give gifts from here. The lavender Carmel in the jar is superb. Also love the chocolate covered macaroons.
Marjie L — Google review
Alma's is wonderful! Her flavor choices are unique and delightful for anyone who wants to know what excellent chocolate tastes like. Her quality is through the roof, from her molded pieces to her truffles and bonbons. She herself is hard working and personable, and her staff have always been so nice. If you're visiting town or if you haven't been there yet it's worth a trip just to go inside and taste her creations. Look out for the little basket containing "imperfections," where she sells visually imperfect but still delectable chocolates at a discount. Win-win!
Kathryn C — Google review
The drinking chocolate here is divine. The flavors are fun, there's 4 to choose from. Dine in! The interiors are nice even though there's only a few seats (it's cozy). Get some chocolatey cookies on your way out too! And caramel dip!
Nagisa D — Google review
Drinking chocolate and truffles are a divine treat. Best quality chocolate I’ve experienced in Portland. Warm and peaceful ambience, lovely staff. Such fair prices. Yum. So happy for this discovery!
Sarah S — Google review
These are special chocolates for those special occasions or gifts. They are beautiful to the eye and the taste buds. Because of the price, you may only want to get a small box the first time! However, if they have samples out (which they did last time I went) you can pin point the one's you like best before you purchase.

Thanks so much for adding some fun to our pups 1st birthday! Pupcakes were a hit with all our fur babies! They were super cute!
Shilo D — Google review
The whole process was really easy. Cake was adorable and affordable. I asked for decorations/ colors that "looked good" and I got the most adorable cake. It also wasn't frozen, which was a nice surprise. And of course my dogs loved it.
Trish K — Google review
Gretchen was so great to work with. Super quick response to my inquiry, and she made the perfect cake for my big child. He’s usually very picky about food, but he just LOVED this cake. Will definitely use Sugah’s again!!
Kana A — Google review
I love the treats that Gretchen makes! They are absolutely adorable and using top quality ingredients. The first time I ordered a dog cake that was able to be customized which colors I wanted and what it said on top "Happy Birthday" etc. It was perfect! Very good attention to detail. The most recent order was mini puppy cupcakes in similar colors with letters of his name on top. I would definitely recommend to support a local business like this one.

My pug is so picky & she loved the cake! I will definitely do more business in the future 😁
