Garden
Nature & Parks
Park
The International Rose Test Garden, located in Washington Park between the historic Portland neighborhoods of Arlington Heights and Goose Hollow, is a city-maintained garden that was established in 1917. It boasts over 10,000 rose plants displayed in meticulously manicured gardens. The garden offers stunning views of Downtown Portland and Mt. Hood and is a popular destination for both locals and tourists.
I read somewhere that this rose garden is Portland's most popular attraction. It's massive it is also part of the larger forest park region that houses many more cool parks. Summer is when the roses bloom and they look and smell amazing. Flower lovers can spend hours here walking through each row of roses. And astonishing how many species of roses live here. The other day I saw a ketchup and mustard rose. When you're tired of roses, you can then walk to the nearby ampitheater to chill and watch one of their many summer shows for free. Parking here can be tough it's coming here during the day. If you don't want to fight for spots, considered coming early morning or after hours.
Deedee C — Google review
It is peaceful and beautiful to walk in nature. I learned there is a 9-11 tribute rose. The variety is amazing. I came in late October when the smell wasn't so strong. Many flowers were hanging on their last breath. But it was a nice cloudy day and I enjoyed walked the park alone. They have a few trails you can walk but I wasn't properly dressed. Had I known I would have brought running shoes.
Julio P — Google review
We had such an amazing time walking around and seeing/smelling the Rose Test Garden! I highly recommend timing your visit so you can join the free tour that begins at the gift shop. It is really lovely and points out historical facts about the garden and the different roses there. The gift shop is small, but has some great things in there. You'll do quite a bit of walking in the Rose Test Garden, so make sure you're wearing comfortable shoes! Parking can be tricky, but be patient and a spot will open up.
Sarah B — Google review
first time visit with my friends and we really enjoyed our time- i think we just walked around smelling and admiring the roses for at least an hour and a half. i had no idea there were so many kinds of roses. it is so well maintained and beautiful with a rich history and a staple of portland. please visit! be sure to check if you will be there when the roses are blooming. we were there in early october and there were still plenty of beautiful roses to see
Allison — Google review
What an incredible garden to stroll around and be amazed at the variety of roses with every turn. I went 10/28/25, so it was fall season and the leaves on the trees brought magic to this oasis on top of the hill. I spent more time venturing over to the Sacajawea Statue, Lewis & Clark column, then over to Coming of the White Man Statue and through the Holocaust area. If you are looking for a place of solitude and serene views, then check this park out.
St C — Google review
Went exploring and car across this place. It was amazing. The flowers were still in bloom even though we went pretty late in the season. Very clean and it smelled so wonderful. Will definitely be making this one of my regular walks
Sabrina G — Google review
Wow. I’ve been to quite a few rose gardens and none are this large. Even in late Oct there were still lots of blooms. I can’t imagine the smell in summer. Plan for at least an hour if you want to see the whole thing. We loved stopping and smelling the roses 🥰
Ninette — Google review
This place was great and so pretty. Out of the hundreds, I mean hundreds of roses I saw there wasn't one blue one....a bit disappointed. Lol Steady amount of people enjoying the day. Parking I'd say wasn't hard to find but it wasn't easy either. Nice day people can be the all day. The parking price wasn't bad in my opinion, considering where I come from and pay to park. Well kept up and beautiful.

Used book store
Powell's City of Books is a renowned bookstore located in downtown Portland's Pearl District. It spans an entire city block and boasts a staggering collection of approximately one million books, making it the largest used and new bookstore globally. The store features nine color-coded rooms with over 3,500 different sections, catering to a wide range of interests.
A must visit bookstore, featuring the largest collection of books of all types I’ve ever seen. The store takes up an entire city block and is five stories tall. There are lots of guides to help point you toward what you’re looking for. There are also a variety of Portland gifts. The travel section and science fiction sections were amazing. Lots of obscure topics as well. There is also a little coffee shop on the ground floor looking out o to the street. One of my favorite features are shelves with the top books by category, such as best fiction, best nonfiction, staff favorites, etc. Absolutely worth a visit.
Chris — Google review
I got lost among thousands of books and found one of my favorite places in Portland: Powell's City of Books. The largest bookstore in the world (a full block) reminded me that there will always be stories waiting for us; you just have to dare to look for them among books and coffee. Since I was a teenager, I loved going to bookstores and spent hours there (literally); I would walk aisle after aisle and write down what I found interesting on my to-read list. In the end, I would leave with just one book, or sometimes with a bookmark, but always with great reflections and thoughts, and I never failed to feel the tinge of anxiety that my life wouldn't allow me to read everything I wanted to read. Visiting this bookstore was like giving that Carlitos an unforgettable experience and reminding him how fleeting life is, so I confirm what I understood at a very young age: I will only read what I am truly passionate about, and I'm not just talking about books. Only if I could change something it would be the cashier's attention.
Carlos C — Google review
They layout is interesting. You can easily get lost in the sea of books. Everything seems well organized. Some prices are quite surprising. Books from the 60-70s costing more than 20 bucks. Overall, it's worth visiting. But I didn't walk away with what I expected to find. But there are interesting books.
Julio P — Google review
Nov 2025 visit I adore books and cats. If you do as well, Powell's carries a number of adorable cat themed tote bags (and others) scattered around. I got stuck in the journal section for a while, admiring the beautiful artwork and embossed covers of blank journals. 3rd floor has the crafting books along with a rare book room (limited daytime hours). Will visit again.
Ali C — Google review
They say it's one of the largest independent book store and it is a great spot for booklovers. They have a coffee shop, rare book store and a 6-7 big sections with different topics. You can easily get lost for a day if you want. Definitely a must stop place to experience while visiting Portland.
Shobhit G — Google review
Book lovers dream and a must see destination for any Portland vacation! So many books, had to come two days in a row to check out everything! Incredible selection and very friendly and helpful staff. Recommend checking out the rare books room.
Lori P — Google review
I can go through this bookstore for hours. A huge selection, and it’s all a well maintained. The store is laid out by rooms, each holding different genres/categories. Whenever I’m in Portland I always have to stop by this location. It’s a tradition. I love the cafe they have connected to the bookstore as well!
Aaron T — Google review
I know of this bookstore, but the first time I went here, it was a wave of synchronicity that somehow brought me to a talk with one of my favourite writers, Adam Johnson, during my two days sojourn in Portland. It really made my night. Other than that, it is impossible to not recommend this indie bookstore. It has got it all. A sheer size of labyrinthine bookracks filled to the brim with everything you can imagine, many information stations that will assist you, cute and carefully selected merchandises, a nice catalogue of used books. If you are a book lover, it is heresy not to visit Powell’s City of Books at least once.

Pittock Mansion, a 23-room museum built in 1914, offers visitors a glimpse into the lavish lifestyle of the affluent in the early 20th century. The mansion, commissioned by Henry Pittock, features period furnishings and rotating exhibits such as 'Dining in the Gilded Age,' showcasing tableware from that era. The French Renaissance-style chateau boasts scenic views of Portland and the Cascade Mountains.
Beautiful!! I think it’d be cool if some of the rooms weren’t roped off — like the upstairs bathroom— but I also understand why they aren’t. I really liked that the servants quarters and such were on display (kinda). That was super cool. I loved all of the teapots and china on display as well
Beau ( — Google review
Cool hangout spot with great panoramic views. The mansion itself is small but nice and takes about 30 minutes to explore. Bathrooms inside and a small guesthouse you can also see inside is also included with the ticket. The main attraction is the views outside the mansion overlooking Portland and beyond. The view itself is free just go inside the house you have to pay. Also don’t forget to pay for parking. Have fun!
Guillermo R — Google review
It's the best place to see Portland. I came for the view and took some beautiful photos of the city and nature. The inside of the house offers a glimpse into a historical life. There are some wonderful historical artifacts, including old-time home layouts, household items, and kitchenware. I'd call it a museum. I found parking. I paid $5-6. The ticket was around $20. It was worth it for the view.
Rana B — Google review
I've lived in Oregon for over 40 years and visited Pittock Mansion for the first time yesterday. It is spectacular with amazing views of downtown Portland. The house is cleverly decorated- each room features authentic furnishings from different eras, dating back to the early 1800's. The grounds are immaculate. Be sure to take in the views of Portland from the backyard overlook. Also, take a hike through Forest Park which borders the grounds!
Lee M — Google review
Gorgeous grounds to walk and views are amazing too. The mansions architecture and furnishings are so impressive for their time and still beautiful even now. Spent about an hour to hour and a half and it was want busy at all, this was on a Wednesday morning. They have an elevator if you need it. Very nice staff. Parking is $2 an hour or $8 for the day. They had a couple handicap spaces which are very close to the mansion.
Kimberly C — Google review
Beautiful views and hikes. The mansion was amazing to visit. The volunteers were eager to tellvus the history and interesting facts. I was impressed with the history and how they displayed the information. The price was reasonable. Definitely a must see.
Sandra Y — Google review
After a long hike to the Pittock Mansion, the view made it worth the trouble. It offered sweeping views of the city and the best part is, you do not need to pay for it. You have to pay to go inside the mansion but most people were just walking around and going to the view.
Gustavo J — Google review
I was very impressed with the mansion. It's beautifully decorated for Christmas. Great hiking trails surround the area. We went for a hike, enjoyed our packed lunch, then toured the mansion.

The Portland Art Museum offers a diverse collection of art from various cultures, including Asian, American, Native American, and European pieces. The museum is housed in two buildings connected underground and is located on the serene South Park Blocks. Established in 1892, it holds over 42,000 artworks and is renowned for its extensive Native American, Asian, European, American, and English silver collections. In addition to its permanent exhibits, the museum hosts touring shows and film screenings.
Visited many times and even took my engagement photos inside the museum a year ago! They have some rules about photography within the museum, so make sure to call ahead of time if you plan to do a photoshoot here. There are so many exhibits to walk through with art for all kinds of tastes. Plan to spend at least an hour and a half here. The free First Thursdays are such a cool deal! Pretty crowded, but the acoustics of the building soften the noise. The gift shop is delightful but can get tight when lots of people are inside. As for parking, just find a parking garage nearby and walk over to the museum. One more note: they generously offer a military discount which is free entry.
Melia — Google review
Currently the museum has no temporary exhibition (the Monet’s water lolies closed on August 10) and most sections are closed for renovation, however no discount was applied to the tickets price. We entered only because we weren’t sure if we ever return to Portland. Part of the European and the American galleries were open and we enjoyed the paintings and sculptures. Staff was kind.
Carmen S — Google review
Apparently they are under construction with 2 of four floors unavailable for viewing. But they are charging full price for half the museum experience, doesn't sound fair. There also wasn't a guidebook to add to the disappointment, I was just walking around on pure vibes lol. For the portion of the museum that was available, there, the art and installments were beautiful. I loved that so many pieces could be tied back to Oregon including the founder of the museum. I would recommend viewing this museum when it's whole again.
MS S — Google review
An amazing collection, and that's even before they opened the new Mark Rothko wing. One of the most beautiful Monet's waterlillies, an incredible Artemisia Gentilesschi, and much more!
Ziki — Google review
Had a great time getting inspired by many great artists from around the world. Really enjoyed the Peruvian/Chilenian artist on religious artifacts. Great works of arts to enjoy.
MrCopper K — Google review
Had the opportunity to visit on free Friday and was so lucky to see the Monet exhibit. The museum is rather small compared to what I have visited before. But, the staff are very friendly and the artwork is really fantastic.
Angela H — Google review
Global icons, Local spotlight exhibition is interesting. The museum is currently under construction but I was told it will reopen soon, surprisingly there are pieces from Picasso and Monet!
Mustafa D — Google review
I visited recently and they have an awesome collection. They were undergoing a remodel so there was limited access to many areas, but worth every penny of admission! First, their prized Monet has been restored recently and it’s absolutely amazing. In connection with Monet, the collection of Japanese paintings and wooodblock prints is really some incredible work. It’s worth going just to see these Japanese works because pictures do not do them any justice. To see these techniques and details up close is sublime. Portland has so many awesome things to draw one’s attention, but don’t miss the Art Museum, the museum itself and the blocks long park that connects all the buildings on the street are a local treasure.

Nestled in a serene 5.5-acre space, the Portland Japanese Garden offers a stunning contrast to its surroundings. The garden showcases various styles and features a waterfall, teahouse, and mountain views. Unlike the nearby rose gardens, this AAA GEM attraction is a study in shades of green with delicate Japanese irises and water lilies adorning koi ponds.
I absolutely love this garden. I recommend more for couples and families with teenagers instead of young kids. There is no play ground. I also recommend coming in the fall ( late October) for cooler weather and beautiful leaf color changes. If you bring in a tripod, you are charged extra at the ticket booth. There is a shuttle available to get up to the garden and pack to the parking lot. The small gift shop and cafe are definitely worth checking out in the gardens too
Christina D — Google review
The gardens are absolutely beautiful. Very well maintained and clean, including the restrooms. There are many photo ops all around the grounds with a fantastic view of Portland with Mt. Hood in the background. There are memberships available for single and multiple on line and at the window and gift shop. If you purchase from the gift shop your entry fee is refunded and it affords you entry for a year and a 20% discount in the gift shop. It's definitely worth the trip. My only issue was with the parking. Not great but there is a free shuttle that goes around.
Ronald S — Google review
Fantastic visit to this Japanese garden. Our first time visiting Oregon from the UK and thiz was high one our list of things to see - and it didnt disappoint. The planting, pathways and structures looked fantastic. It was busy but not overly so and everything was well maintained. Food in the cafe was great as well. Plenty of nearby car parking and short queues to enter.
GraduatedWithoutHonor — Google review
This is such an amazing and magical place. We visited during the fall and were blessed with beautiful fall foliage. Be sure to get the earliest timed entry tickets and arrive 30 minutes before opening to ensure you get parking. The first 5 minutes is a slight incline, but the rest of the gardens are relatively flat. Go, you won’t be disappointed. Are,sure you get timed entry
Herb S — Google review
Breathtaking Gardens, But Be Prepared for the Wait We visited the Portland Japanese Garden about a week ago—absolutely stunning this time of year. The colors were unreal, and we couldn’t have timed our visit better. Every turn of the path was like stepping into a painting: moss-covered stones, fiery red maples, and soft autumn light filtering through the trees. Unfortunately, our experience started off on the wrong foot. We had an 11:15 a.m. tour booked and arrived an hour early, paid for parking, and went to get our tickets—only to be told there was a two-hour wait to enter. The website hadn’t mentioned this possibility, so our only choices were to wait around for two hours or leave, come back later, and pay for parking again. The staff seemed well-prepared for this kind of situation, which tells me it’s a common issue, but it would make a huge difference if visitors were better informed ahead of time. Thankfully, our visit happened on a Bank of America “Museums on Us” day, so admission was free, which softened the blow. Once inside, the frustration faded away—these gardens truly deserve five stars. But the lack of clear communication at the start left a disappointing first impression. Go for the beauty, but plan ahead for crowds and wait times.
R. W — Google review
Second time visiting the Japanese Gardens and was just as blown away by it's beauty, as was the first time. 1 almost didn't get the chance to visit, however, I thought I would walk around before catching my flight back to SoCal. It was a Sunday and arrived right before opening and there was already a massive line to get in. You can get tickets beforehand and 1 highly recommend doing so because it fills up quickly! Since was pressed for time, I decided to purchase a membership and bypass the 2.5 hour wait time and 1 am so glad 1 did! (Quick side-note if you have a membership you can access the gardens at 8 a.m., 2 hours before the general public and for the photographers out there this is an ideal time to capture images without having volumes of people walking into your frame...additionally tripods are allowed for a minimal cost). Walking around the gardens is absolutely breathtaking and especially going in the fall when the autumn colors are in full swing! You can literally spend a good half day here as there is so much to take in and 1 do recommend allowing for at least a few hours at a minimum.
Chris W — Google review
It’s a good garden and well maintained. The Japanese theme has been carefully curated and does match actual Japanese gardens we’ve seen quite well. Truly could be a thoughtful and quiet place for people. The buildings and facilities match in well. Good use of wood in the architecture. The only thing that put us off was the price. Did feel steep for adults. The area can feel quite small and constraining when a large number of people visit. Yes they try to manage a steady throughput but it has its busy areas.
Oakwood W — Google review
A beautiful place with amazing history. Amazing bonsai. Fantastic water features. Lovely resting places. Clean. Peaceful. Definitely recommend getting the membership. With a membership you can go before and after public hours. Visit during special moments, or get notified of special moments. The staff are friendly. The location is reasonably handicap accessible for the most part. Near the International Rose Test Gardens; an awesome duo trip if you have time. Nice little cafe with fancy treats and tea. Nifty place to stop after walking around. The gift shop is cute. The art galleries and learning experiences are really fun as well.

We have been to a lot of zoos and this one felt like you could get super close to all the animals. The walk was very well laid out and easy to follow even without carrying a map. The animals were well cared for, and the terrain was just beautiful. If I had an negative about the park, it might be that at times it was hard to find the trashcan, but what I really really liked was you could always find a bench and somewhere to sit to enjoy the wildlife and to rest. I do think this zoo is very well worth a trip. In about 2 1/2 hours, you can see everything and experience just some wonderful terrain to walk-through. It wasn’t too difficult or hard to climb and I always felt like I could do it in a wheelchair if I had to. One of the most interesting things I saw in this zoo was a children’s sandbox play area that looked like just the kind of things. My children would have loved when they were 2-6 years old. Parking was very interesting and you had to download a specific app, but there were kiosk where you could get a parking place without having to use the app so I was very thankful for that.

I've been here twice now as a guest of a annual pass holding zoo member. Delightful each time. Animals appear to be in great shape and have gorgeous habitats. They even accommodated for my service animal with no issues providing a special map to help guide through the zoo. I really enjoy coming here. And with the Rose garden and many other things connected around the zoo it's a lovely place to hang out for the day.

The Portland Zoo is a great place to visit, and we had a delightful time. The layout makes it easy to walk, but since most of it is concrete, definitely bring good walking shoes. The exhibits are well-designed, the animals look well-cared-for, and there’s a nice variety to see without feeling overwhelming. The grounds are clean, the signage is clear, and the paths are stroller- and kid-friendly. There are plenty of spots to stop, rest, or grab a snack, and the whole place feels well-maintained and thoughtfully organized—a great family outing and absolutely worth the visit.

The zoo itself was amazing. The structural aspect of the zoo is great, easy paths to follow that allows you to see all of the animals very easily without confusing path directions and such. The variety of animals is also very good. The Zoo itself has 3 restaurants/cafes all together, so if you do not want to bring food there is plenty to choose from. The grass are by the food options is also great for kids to let go of steam, have a great picnic or just to enjoy a nice break. The only thing I wish the zoo would advertise on their website is which animals are currently not available, as there were many such as the lions, spotted dogs, cheetahs etc that were not available to see due to different reasons. However, all in all is it a great zoo!
R R — Google review
Absolutely love this zoo! You’ll find a fantastic range of animals, including adorable new babies like an elephant, turtle, and ape, all thriving in spacious habitats. Visit now for minimal weekend crowds and affordable admission—perfect for a day of exploration! Bring your own snacks to save on food and skip the lines. On the downside, there’s a parking fee, and it can get super crowded in late spring and summer, making it tricky to see the animals, especially with kids. Plus, tickets are only available online now—no more at the gate! Pro tip: If you’re military, part of a group, a nonprofit, or an eligible family, you could snag discounted tickets up to 50%, so check eligibility before buying tickets!

Its a great place. Love this zoo. I get a membership so I can go often. I do like to bring in my own lunch and drinks. But they have food and drink available.

Amazing zoo. Came here on a whim and we were blown away. I have never seen animals at a zoo so healthy looking, active and playful. The design was also great that it took you on a loop, and we loved that it was incorporated into the nature around us.

Absolutely beautiful park! Loved the mist stations all around to help keep cool on hot days. Only surprise was that the entire park is cashless but you can get a loadable MasterCard for use around the park at a kiosk that takes cash. Animals are VERY well cared for and have nice sized habitats, customized for their species. 10/10 would absolutely love to go again.

Washington Park, located within the expansive Forest Park in Portland, is a must-visit destination offering an array of diverse attractions. From the Oregon Zoo and Hoyt Arboretum to the World Forestry Center and Children's Museum, there's something for everyone. The park is renowned for its International Rose Test Garden with over 10,000 rose bushes and the serene Japanese Garden, both providing stunning views of downtown and the Cascade Range mountains.
Roses are my favorite so of course I had to visit the Rose Garden. I enjoyed walking through the gardens and smelling all the different roses. The amphitheater was perfect for a break. The walk from the parking lot was very enjoyable. There’s a free trolley you can get on to make your way to the zoo and Japanese gardens too.

Our day trip from Seattle led us straight into a dream at the Portland International Rose Garden in Washington Park. The moment we stepped in, it felt like walking onto the set of a romance movie…roses in every shade imaginable, perfectly cared for, their fragrance floating through the air like a love spell. Every turn revealed another picture-perfect scene, as if the garden itself wanted to be admired. It’s the kind of place where time slows down, where you can wander hand in hand and feel completely wrapped in beauty. Even the practical side is easy, with plenty of paid parking along the road, so the magic begins the moment you arrive. Truly a garden made for memories.

The park is huge!!! I rode Maxi red line and got off right at the Washington Park station. The trail is underground but there are elevators that can buying you to the street level. I'm surprised how deep the rails are running underground. You will see Oregon zoo right outside. It's around $5 dollar reasonable price. I hiked the Wildwood trail. It's a little challenging for some portion of the trail but I managed to walk all the way back to the rose garden playground. The ride garden is free.

Portland is a beautiful city. Washington Park is just one of its many treasures. We visited the Japanese Garden and got a chance to hear Japanese string music played. It was like being transported to another place and time. The walk through the garden is spiritually recharging. Hubby and I experienced the calm, peace and restoration of Shinrin yoku or forest bathing. We finished our garden walk at the gift shop where they sell such curious items and inspired books. We rode the shuttle around the park to see the other attractions like the zoo and the Discovery museum. We were sad we didn’t get to visit all of the attractions for lack of time.

The Portland Saturday Market is a vibrant weekend destination that runs from March through Christmas Eve, nestled on the west side of the Burnside Bridge near Skidmore Fountain. As North America's largest ongoing open-air handicraft market, it showcases around 300 vendors offering an eclectic mix of handmade goods, including jewelry, yard art, and unique home decor crafted by talented local artisans.
I adore the saturday market. Such a iconic experience. Lots of artists , delicious foods, beautiful art, flowers , and so much more.

Totally worth checking out. Lots of quirky artesianal booths and very creative people in Portland. They had multiple musicians playing in a few different areas each bringing their own unique genre of music. Part of the market lies on the old street brick which gives it that early 1900s city vibe.

Cool little area of the city that has arts and crafts tents where you can buy trinkets and other interesting items. They have a handful of food stalls to choose from too, I recommend the skewers (2.50$ a skewer). It is a decent place to come hang out on a saturday and check out or grab a bite to eat and sit and listen to the live music.

I had never been before October 2024. There's Live Music! Crafts! You can buy Art and soap and stickers and jewelry and sculptures and Dragons! And lots of other cool things. Some of it seems a little overpriced but you have to figure in that it costs each vendor for that space, and a monthly fee as well. Also, Voodoo Donuts!!!

Lan Su Chinese Garden is a serene oasis nestled in the bustling Old Town/Chinatown neighborhood of Portland. This tranquil botanical garden showcases rare plants native to China and features exquisite decorative stonework. A collaboration with Portland's sister city Suzhou, this garden offers a glimpse into the life of a wealthy 16th-century Chinese family through its ornate structures and exquisitely landscaped courtyards.
Beautiful garden right in the city. Peaceful setting even in a bustling city. The garden stays much cooler than the outside city and the noise is buffered by the birds and water. With plenty of opportunities to sit and enjoy the scenery, make sure you check out the events. We took the free tour which was very interesting. There is even a Tea House and gift shop.
Kim K — Google review
What a peaceful meditative oasis! There is clearly some special energy here, transplanted by the artisans from Suzhou China who crafted the design and contents of this garden. We especially loved the tea house with an impressive variety of teas and baked goods, with tables overlooking the picture perfect lake and garden. The gift shop is also well stocked with a wide variety of items. I can totally see spending hours just quietly reading or soaking in the special special ambience of this meditative space.

Beautiful Chinese Garden, the tea house here is one of the best I’ve been to in the States! It’s so well done, it transports you to a whole new place. Spent a good couple of hours here just sipping tea, walking around the gardens and being in Zen mode.

What a beautiful hole in the wall place to visit! Lots of good photo op places and felt very culturally grounding for all races, especially if you’re Chinese. Reminded me of my roots, the koy fish pond right in the center was impressive and having the tea house to enjoy some cold tea on a hot day like today was amazing. Top tier decor and ambiance. So glad I came to visit this garden. The area outside the garden may be a little sketch but we have not encountered anything negative especially during the daytime, it’s ok. Metered street parking.

Park
Tom McCall Waterfront Park is a scenic riverfront green belt in downtown Portland, offering paved paths, public art, and historical monuments. The park hosts various events and festivals like the Waterfront Blues Festival and LGBTQ Pride. Named after a governor who protected urban green spaces, it features a fountain for kids to play in and ample space for running around. Visitors can enjoy strolling, jogging, or cycling along the waterfront path while taking in the cherry blossoms during springtime.
This waterfront park is gorgeous! It was especially gorgeously beautiful in the last week of March 2025! The cherry blossom trees are breathtakingly beautiful, delicate, magical. When the wind blew, all of the people enjoying the flowers were treated to the softest pink candy fragrant flower petal shower. Being there for the cherry blossom trees’ bloom is like being in a beautiful dream!
Margot S — Google review
Governor Tom McCall Waterfront Park is one of Portland’s most iconic gathering spots, especially in the spring. When the cherry blossoms are in bloom, the park transforms into a sea of pink—an absolutely magical sight that draws locals and visitors alike. Walking under the blossoms or sitting by the river as petals drift through the air feels like stepping into another world. It’s festive, lively, and one of the city’s most photogenic moments of the year. Throughout the year, the park remains a hub of activity. Joggers, cyclists, families, and groups of friends bring a constant energy to the riverside path. Festivals, events, and casual weekend outings keep the atmosphere vibrant and social. The open green spaces are perfect for picnics or simply lounging by the Willamette River. That said, the park has faced some challenges in recent years. Cleanliness and safety have become concerns, and it would benefit from more consistent upkeep to match its status as a centerpiece of the city. Ensuring that the park is well-maintained would only enhance its appeal and help preserve the welcoming, community-centered space it’s meant to be. In short, Governor Tom McCall Waterfront Park is still a must-visit spot in Portland—especially during cherry blossom season, when it shines at its best. With more attention to cleanliness and safety, it could truly live up to its full potential as one of the city’s most beautiful and beloved parks.

Voodoo Doughnut is a popular counter-serve bakeshop known for its creative and quirky donut creations. The shop offers an eclectic blend of flavors and toppings, including unique options like the bacon maple bar, a peanut butter chocolate donut with crushed Oreos, and an apple fritter 'as big as your head.' It's even possible to get married at Voodoo Doughnut while enjoying their sweet treats.
Really fun spot and a Portland classic. The donuts are unique and taste great, definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area. Be prepared to wait though, the line usually wraps around the building, especially at night and on weekends. Once you get inside, the neat vibe and variety of flavors make the wait worth it.

it was a definite must-visit for you. Inside its cozy, compact space, there's plenty to admire. You especially enjoyed their strawberry cheesecake , churro doughnut voodoo doughnuts etc , really loving the strawberry filling inside. The donuts were a bit sweeter than your usual preference, but overall, you had a good experience, and found both the doughnuts and merchandise to be reasonably priced. You think it's one of those spots you should check out at least once. this one felt more authentic and hit the spot for you, thanks in part to helpful staff like Cricket, who assisted you nicely in picking out your treats.

Voodoo Doughnut is a must-visit for anyone who loves unique and specialty donuts! Each one is fluffy, flavorful, and perfectly crafted, turning every bite into a little moment of joy. The shop has such a fun and quirky vibe that makes it feel like more than just a stop for sweets — it’s an experience. Yes, the line can get long, but it moves surprisingly fast, and the anticipation just makes the donuts taste even better. Whether you’re a local or visiting, this spot is a fun, delicious, and Instagram-worthy stop. 🍩

Yes, I know the hype. You can try to come a little late at night (I came around 8 pm) and the line up wasn’t that crazy. They have lots of unique choices for donuts (which is intriguing). At the end I chose the classic chocolate. I think it was the best way to decide if they met the standard. It was not disappointing. The dough is a little crispy outside and soft inside. The chocolate is mixed sweet & savoury. Really good stuff!
Giovani M — Google review
Overdue review. Voodoo Donuts is listed as one of Portlands must-dos because the donuts 🍩 are from the hometown of “The Simpsons’” Matt Groening. Not sure if they were inspired or were an inspiration. I was curious to see or try the “Homer” donut, the iconic cartoon donut with the pink frosting. When I stumbled across this shop - it turned out to be one of the most memorable places I visited in a long line of places because of the staff. Summing up Portland, it’s like a dream of the 90s that has decayed and atrophied. There is a severe homelessness and drug problem in the downtown. So I was walking quickly through this area and a homeless blonde woman in her late 20s - 30s approached. “Ma’am, ma’am?,” she inquired as I walked by. I told her, sorry but I didn’t have anything on me. She said,” I don’t want your money. I just want a donut. Can you please help me just get a donut?” This was a simple and honest request and she seemed genuinely hungry - ok, so I went in the long queue with the intention of getting her a donut alongside this famous pink “Homer” donut. There was an actual security guard at the velvet line. The guard stood there all day but was trying to help her. She didn’t have her shoelaces tied so he was pointing to her shoes. To tie them. He retied his own to show her. She had stuff in her hair and he brushed his own hair off to show her where there were leaves. He was even smiling to try to cheer her up, to make it fun. She was very lost, looking much older than she really was - you could tell she must have been beautiful once. When I finally got into the store I told the clerk we wanted to purchase a donut for this homeless lady. The bakery clerk stopped everything and looked outside quickly. She even exclaimed “Oh I know her! I know what she likes.” Then she proceeded to find the exact donut and we purchased them. The lady stood outside at the door waiting, I gave her the donut as I exited and she was finally happy. There was really no more anyone could do for her. So, kudos to the Voodoo Doughnut staff showing us humanity where it was much needed. Someone went home with a full belly on that night. I hope people are able to support Voodoo Donuts and maybe pay it forward. Maybe it doesn’t even have to be a homeless person to pay for but just someone behind you. We can keep going because it’s good for the soul. These are great donuts, these are great staff. This was the most memorable donut shop experience I’ve ever had.
D巴斯克斯 — Google review
I bought just one donuts but it was so big and I couldn't even finish it on my own. The shop is close to the water front park so I brought it to the river and had it while walking along the park. The exterior of the shop is pink and there is a big area outside the shop where people can enjoy the food. There is a security guard standing outside the shop controlling how many people can enter the shop so it won't get to crowded inside. There are many donuts flavor. See the photo. I've donuts is a little expensive $4.5 but it's worth is. Think it as a meal.

This is a must stop when in Portland! I was told it is the original location, I didn't verify this. The donuts are pretty decent. Fun nostalgic shop. Staff is friendly! Love this place, love the immersion, and the brick everything... Honestly if it weren't for aggressive homeless/addicts it would be a five stars but that's likely always going to be the case given the location. Summer concerts are amazing here.

Downtown Portland surprised me with its charming, almost European vibe—walkable streets, cozy cafés, and beautiful old buildings. There’s a laid-back energy, lots of greenery, and plenty of spots to sit and people-watch. It feels both relaxed and cultured, like a little slice of Europe in the PNW. It seems cleaner and safer now than few months and even years before. But not quite pre covid though.
Marta S — Google review

Nestled between Reed College and the Eastmoreland Golf Course in Southeast Portland, Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden is a 5-acre botanical paradise boasting over 2,000 vibrant rhododendrons alongside various other plants and trees. The garden comes alive from late March to September when most of the flora is in full bloom, attracting a diverse array of wildlife around its serene lake.
This was my first time visiting the gardens and I was completely blown away! The grounds are fairly extensive, and neatly manicured. There are so many variety of rhododendron and azalea, along with other native flora and fauna. There are beautiful contrasts in the colors of the blooms and foliage alike. There were ponds, waterfalls, fountains, open grassy and bench seating areas as well. We witnessed a lot of wildlife as well! Ducks, geese, and even some nutria! Absolutely worth the $9 to have such an enjoyable and peaceful natural spot right here in town.

The perfect garden to walk through in the spring. The trees are green, the azaleas and rhododendron plants are in full bloom and some of the perennials are opening up. The water features are fun to explore. Attended the wedding of my son today and just loved the backdrop for the ceremony. Various walking trails, bridges and ponds/lakes to spend time exploring. There were of course ducklings to see swimming with mama duck as they explore the larger areas of the ponds. Exciting and beautiful garden. Worth a trip to wander through.

This park is simply gorgeous! We went in late June and the weather was fantastic. There is a lot of beautiful foliage, incredible water features, gorgeous bridges and walkways, as well as lots of wild life. You almost forget you're in a big city!

I love this place and I usually go there every year during spring. This year I went in November. Leaves were in bright colors. So beautiful.

Beautiful park that offers spacious level paths in an incredibly relaxing environment; even outside of the flowering season for the rhododendrons and azaleas it is a must-see. There are ample areas to sit and take in the nature visually and audibly. Plenty of bird and waterfowl watching areas. Additionally, the restrooms were clean and well stocked with the necessities to get the job done!

a beautiful garden with a peaceful vibe. lots of places to sit, and it’s never too crowded! lots of critters in the area also to see. they offer pay as you wish admission for SNAP card holders, which is such a blessing for me. a huge thank you to the owners for making this accessible!! 🩷 the only downside to this place is the parking lot is small, so plan to carpool and you may have to walk farther to access it from your parking location if you go during busy hours

This garden is a hidden gem. A stunning garden in the middle of the city. It was a lovely morning walk. It had quite a few people, but I didn't feel overly crowded. It was so relaxing. The walk took about 30 minutes as my husband and I slowly strolled down each path. The parking lot is rather small, so neighborhood parking was the best option.

Hoyt Arboretum, nestled in a 190-acre park, is a haven for nature enthusiasts and hikers alike. Its network of trails spans 12 miles, offering a chance to explore thousands of native and endangered trees. The Overlook Trail, with its paved paths and mild slopes, provides stunning views of Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Rainier on clear days.
Beautiful area to walk one or multiple trails. The Redwoods were beautiful. They have a small gift shop & 2 unisex bathrooms outside the gift shop, with a sink. The free shuttle has a drop off location at Hoyt. One short trail gives a beautiful view on a clear day of Mt Rainer & Mt St Helen. I had a great visit! Hoyt Arboretum is free and has no entrance gate.

This place was absolutely beautiful. I saw a tree i definitely would love to have on my forever home property - The Japanese Hornbeam. The Vietnam Living Memorial is such a great idea. I love the idea of a memorial that gives back to the Earth. Plus it doesn't just have names of their veterans, but info on what else was happening in their towns during that time. The rose gardens were absolutely amazing. The wide variety of roses was breathtaking. It was nice to see so many still in bloom. I think that was because roses have two bloom seasons and I just happened to visit during the second blooming season, late September. I will definitely visit this place the next time I'm in Portland.

Our family enjoys visiting this place for a peaceful and beautiful stroll. The fall is definitely a great time to visit with all the trees changing colors. Volunteers are sometimes walking about and can help you navigate the area if you're looking for anything in particular. There are paved paths and some gravel paths. You'll either pay for parking or park on the road. Keep in mind the parking lot tends to fill up quickly during peak times, like weekends and nice weather.

Wooooooow! I was not expecting this to be one oc my favorite parts of Washington park!! What an incredible series lf trails and trees! Amazing diversity and size! This was my first time going to Hoyt Arboretum but it definitely won't be my last. Such a beautiful place to reconnect with nature. I went early in the morning on a weekday and I couldn't have picked a better time. It was so peaceful and had many of the trails to myself. I stuck to the flatter trails, as my shoes were more for strolling than hiking.I can't wait to explore more of the area and bring my sneakers to check out some of the slightly steeper trails. It's a great place for beginners like me! 🌳🚶‍♀️🌲

Hoyt Arboretum is a beautiful place to spend a day outdoors. We enjoyed a wonderful 2-hour hike through the lush trails, taking the Wildwood Trail up to Pittock Mansion via the scenic Barbara Walker Crossing. It’s peaceful, well-maintained, and a great way to connect with nature right in the city. Perfect spot for an easy adventure!

From the moment I saw a photo of the Redwood Observation Deck on Pinterest, I knew this was where I wanted to get married. There was something dreamlike about the tall Redwoods towering over the deck, and the light filtering through the trees. It looked like it belonged in a fairytale. Seeing it in person on our wedding day was even more breathtaking than I imagined. Booking the venue was a unique experience. Portland Parks & Rec operates on a lottery system, so we had to line up outside their office early in the morning to get our permit. It felt a little old-school, but it also made the process kind of special and exciting. Once we secured our date, everything else fell into place. The day-of experience was flawless. While a few of our out-of-town guests had a bit of trouble finding the entrance to Bray Lane (where the trailhead begins), once they arrived, it was only a short, easy walk to the deck. Despite being in a public park, the area felt incredibly private. The few joggers we passed were respectful, and there were no interruptions or background noise — just the quiet, calming presence of the forest. We were lucky to have a beautiful August afternoon. The weather was warm and golden, and the light filtering through the canopy and our chuppah created this soft, ethereal glow. Guests couldn't stop talking about how magical the space felt. It was serene, intimate, and completely unforgettable. If you're dreaming of a natural, woodsy wedding that feels tucked away from the world (while still being in Portland!), I can't recommend the Redwood Observation Deck enough. It’s already a popular choice for a reason, and after our experience, I understand why. Truly a hidden gem in the heart of the city.

Mt. Tabor Park is a large forested park situated on an extinct volcanic vent, offering a variety of activities such as tennis courts and playgrounds. Despite not being the tallest viewpoint, it provides a 360-degree panoramic view of the Portland metro area, including the city skyline, West Hills, East Portland, and distant mountain views. The park's Douglas Firs may obstruct some vistas but walking up the rocky mountain rewards hikers with stunning scenery.
On an extremely hot day, I sought shade in the forest and found this perfect spot to walk my dogs and cool off beneath the deep, leafy canopy. It’s a wonderful place to escape the heat. I was pleasantly surprised to find such a tranquil space right in the middle of the city. There happened to be a concert taking place, and it turned out to be an ideal spot for a relaxed picnic. Highly recommended.
Kai D — Google review
This park is on a mountain with pretty steep elevation, so if you're not ready to climb, I would suggest just driving up and parking the car by the street and climbing from the reservoir area. It's much easier. The view is beautiful, especially from the peak of the park, and there are trails for both walkers and bicycle riders. There is also a dog park on the south side, which I haven't gone to, but I see many people walking their dogs heading down to that area. There are two reservoirs on the west side, providing a good view towards downtown, and picnic or camping right by the water.
Nan L — Google review
This was mine and my husband's first time at this park and we really enjoyed it! It was beautiful. LOTS of trails to enjoy. Those stairs are unforgiving as heck 🤣. It's definitely a busier park, but with how many trails there are, everyone is spaced out, and everyone we ran into was very nice. We will definitely be back to take a crack at the trails we didn't get to.

Mt Tabor is an exquisite park located on an ancient volcano! That's right, Google it! It provides a stellar view of not only downtown Portland (from sunrise to sunset) but also part of the Portland Metro. During the summer, Mt Tabor hosts Tabor Dance, which is a "rave-like" free event that puts on 3 local DJs; donations help support this event and let's them keep coming back. It houses 2 large water reservoirs, adding to beauty of the space! If you're new or visiting, make a trek up to Mt Tabor, you won't be disappointed!

I've been coming here for 30 years and really love this place. You see a lot of like minded people that are just there for the beauty and the peaceful experience of being on top amount tabor. There's also a basketball court there and places to picnic. Maybe have a barbecue, but it's just beauty. You're so high up above the city. You can see very beautiful vantage points from different places

One of the better views in Portland. The off leash dog park is pretty nice, and there are lots of trails to enjoy. Note that this is a popular spot, so you will see a lot of other people on the trails and in the park.

I live near Mt. Tabor park, and absolutely love going on late night walks there. It’s a really calm and peaceful environment, not to mention the basketball court surrounded by trees, tennis courts, and playground. And on Wednesdays they close off the roads for cars, so you can skate/ bike on the roads. Overall I think Mt. Tabor is an amazing place.

Laurelhurst Park, a 32-acre park in Northeast Portland, is a picturesque and popular spot for locals and visitors alike. Originally part of a private farm, the city of Portland transformed it into a beautiful park in 1912. Inspired by Frederick Law Olmsted's landscape architecture, the park features old trees, sprawling lawns, walking trails, and picnic areas surrounding a spring-fed pond. The neighborhood around the park showcases fine residential architecture.
I did not realize just how huge this gorgeous park is!! Lots of grass rolling hills covered with huge trees! I think i saw people playing on a "pickleball" court by the tennis court. There are working n open restrooms in the green buildings. Bicyclists, rollerblading, a person in an electric wheelchair, people walking n skipping. Benches n picnic tables throughout this beautifully maintained park. 🌹🌹🌹🌹

I love the Kickstand Comedy in the Park in the summer on Friday nights. Perfect for a picnic with friends. There are port-a-potties that are often closed, but the building restrooms are usually open. I wouldn’t say they’re clean but at least it’s a place to go. I’d be open to paid toilets at this park for better quality

Great park with a beautiful pond in the center and large lawn square for dog walking. The trees are tall so you will mostly walk in the shade but you can also lay down on the grass to get tanged. It took a about 30 mins to walk account the park and bus stop #75 is right outside the entrance.

This iconic Portland park is a great! There's a pond, a tall brick staircase, beautiful trees, open grassy spaces, paved paths, old-school street lamps, basketball, tennis, soccer, volleyball, playground, dog area, bathrooms & more. They hold a lot of events. My husband proposed at the lantern festival! 😍💍 It's also a great place for a photo shoot.

Had a blast with the family rollerblading in the park. Didn't see any homeless or drug addicts. The whole park was very clean. We had a blast. Would recommend for any park activities. See people doing everything you'd imagine people doing at park. I would not recommend rollerblading though. We fell multiple times and our kids flew off into the bushes a few times hahaha everyone's messed up!.

We don't get out to Laurelhurst as often as we should; it's one of the best inner city parks that we have, for myriad reasons: spacious, shaded, plenty of picnic space and open greenway, trails, special events all year round (our favorites being the Water Lantern Festival and Movies in the Park), an off-leash dog area, duck pond, sports courts and fields, and likely a lot more things of which I am aware. It's also seems, to me at least, to be one of only a handful of Portland's "living room" spaces: large enough, and conveniently central enough, to draw in folks from all over the metro area, for any of the reasons mentioned above. It's quite, serene, welcoming...nostalgic, even. A great place to commingle, or isolate, whatever your preference. Portland is blessed with a lot of urban green spaces, but few outside of Forest Park (the G.O.A.T.) can rival the majesty, modesty, and utility of Laurelhurst. It's the sort of place that can make you fall in love with your city all over again. Mill Ends Park, located in Portland, is recognized by the Guinness World Records as the smallest park in the world. This tiny patch of grass was established by Dick Fagan, a columnist who claimed to have conversations with a leprechaun colony living there. The park has been creatively decorated in the past with installations such as a butterfly swimming pool and a miniature ferris wheel.
My wife and I saw a video on the YouTube channel "Sidetrack Adventures" about this park so when we were visiting Portland recently, we just had to check it out. It's so cute! If you blink, you'll miss it, but it's right there in the median of the road. It made me laugh and it brought a smile to my face. Certainly worth a visit if you're in the area and it's such a unique attraction to share with friends. Thank you Portland for making this!

The famous “world’s smallest park” was cute but… un-climatic. I don’t know what my expectations were… it’s suppose to be small. Maybe I wanted it to be smaller? I don’t know. But it’s a cute little point of pride for Portland and an easy stop on a jogging route. Be careful of the oncoming bike-lane traffic!
Tak O — Google review
I didn’t know about this park until I saw people taking pictures in the middle of the street, and I thought, what’s going on here? It might seem a little silly, but if you’re in Portland, it’s worth stopping by for a few photos. Afterward, take a walk in the larger park just across the street, it’s really nice. I do want to mention that there are quite a few homeless people around the downtown area, which is a bit sad.

Going to the world’s smallest park was such a fun experience! It was very accessible to go here by walk from a nearby restaurant. It is super small and somehow that makes it very cute! There are restrooms nearby on the other side of the road. This park is also located kind of in the middle of a large road, so you have to cross a road to get here. I went last week and really enjoyed the science museum. I can only imagine how much cooler it would be if I was a small child! Bright colours, high ceiling, lots of interactive educational activities- this place has it all! I did not see the Jurassic Park exhibit or go to the planetarium, but I would love to go see both the next time I'm in the area! Designed for kids, but people of all ages can find something interesting to learn about here. The gift shop is great too!!

We went on a Tuesday before heading back home after we had been hanging out in Portland for a few days. Parking was close and easy although required us to download yet another parking app. We went and saw the Lego Jurassic World exhibit which was very cool. Fun interactive displays in addition to the major builds on display. Then out into the Turbine Room for a bunch of hands on science. Everyone had a good time.

This was my first visit to OMSI, and I can see why so many people love it. The hands-on exhibits and interactive science areas are really well done — perfect for learning while having fun. It’s a great place to explore for a few hours and sparks curiosity in every age group. We also went to see the Earth movie, which was visually beautiful but mostly focused on climate change, so it wasn’t quite what I expected. Still, I enjoyed the overall experience and would definitely come back to explore more exhibits next time.

Went to OMSI with a friend and had such a great time! The Monsters of the Abyss: Aquatic Predators Past + Present exhibit was fascinating — we even met a Caiman lizard named Crunch, who’s related to the prehistoric Megalania! The exhibit was full of interesting creatures and incredible displays. We also went to the planetarium, toured the USS Blueback submarine, and spent time in the engineering labs, which were so much fun. Everything was super engaging and well put together. OMSI is always a blast — definitely worth a visit for adults too, not just kids!

Nov 2025 visit Mainly only downstairs with 2 rooms: the monsters exhibit and the large activities room. I visited for about an hour. The Monsters of the Abyss exhibit is very interesting and informative. The individual stations are very well made with signage in both English and Spanish. There was a paper passport to stamp at 6 stations. I wasn't ready to see a planetarium show so I visited the activities room. All geared towards younger children, perhaps younger grade school. It was quite busy and full of kids and parents. There's a water fountain and bottle refill station in the activities room and restrooms. I did enjoy watching the metal balls on the wire tracks. Quite similar to the one in SJC Terminal A and the San Jose Tech Museum. I visited with the BoA MOU program.

We went to Brickman and it was amazing!! Good mix of exhibits and hands on. The rest of the museum wasn't what I think of when I think museum. No big exhibits, not a lot of info. But they had a room that was an engineers dream. Lots of problems to solve and hands on activities. My kids could have spent all day in that one room. Had a great time, but cost seemed high for what you got. Didn't but tickets ahead of time as AAA discount is offered in person.

Love this hidden gem. Is a unique Catholic Church surrounded by the nature. I enjoyed the peacefulness and the quietness. The upper level garden cost $10.95 which I think is worth it. Beautiful garden that you can find a place to sit and enjoy the white noise from the nature. I would recommend to visit while in Portland.

I went on a weekday and it was fairly empty. The place itself is free to visit the only thing that requires a purchase is to see the gardens above the mountain. Everything below that is beautiful and free to see. The church is nice and decorated and the sculptures outside are great. Bathrooms by the gift shop. I did buy tickets to take the elevator to the gardens and they were also cool. More sculptures and flowers up there to see. Definitely a very unique church worth visiting.

Such a peaceful and calming place The mass session was serene and uplifting, creating a sense of deep tranquility. The garden above is absolutely spectacular; it's so quiet and soothing that even speaking loudly feels out of place. It’s the kind of atmosphere that invites reflection and inner peace. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a moment of calm away from the noise of daily life.

A great place to visit and pray, very peaceful and comfortable. I traveled by road for about 10 hours from Sacramento, but it was well worth the trip. Especially when I arrived at 7 a.m. before the first Sunday mass at 8 a.m., the atmosphere was still calm and quiet, allowing me to focus on prayer. I will be back again.

Beautiful gardens at the top and had that PNW peacefulness and charm. I'm not catholic, but we went to the daily mass to see what it was like in the church. Overall was an interesting site to check out on a quiet weekend.

A serene, beautiful place to find stillness and peace even if you're not catholic. There is a garden area up top that over looks the city. Here you find little areas to sit, meditate, pray or leave some tears behind. Walk around or sit to find clarity. On the grounds where your enter, there is a large gift shop to find a little gem to help amplify you prayers or guide your manifestations. Daily mass indoors and outdoors that you can flow in and out of. There are saints along the walking area that you can visit. There is a smaller shop towards the back where you can also purchase candles to leave at the altar area. Be sure to visit during Christmas time. A spectacular show of lights flood the ground and there are chiors and special services.

Be prepared. There are plenty of people that visit the site. It is a beautiful location with many places to sit. The various sculptures on the property honor various Saints and are artistically crafted. Catholic Mass is observed at several different times. Notable displays include the famous Portland Penny and an exhibit detailing Oregon's history from Native American settlements to pioneers arriving in the mid-19th century.
The Oregon Historical Society museum was great! It's a fun and educational experience about Oregon's history and many different events. There are tons of exhibits and lots of artwork. We had a wonderful experience here! I want to say that the men and women who work behind the scenes on the exhibits go above and beyond and do an incredible job searching out and sifting through items and records to showcase history in a clear, honest, and interesting way. The new Yasui exhibit involves the family I married into and we were so honored and touched by the care taken in bringing our family history out so clearly and honestly. They were extremely gracious to the family members and we got a sneak peek of the exhibit. As for the rest of the place, we are going to have to go back to further explore all the treasures. They really showcase Oregon history and I believe they work hard to tell all the stories from many cultures living in our state. They said there is free admittance for Multnomah county residents! The only downside is they are located in downtown Portland and you will need to pay for parking and you may need to walk away. I believe there is a parking structure across the street and that might be a good option for some. It should be easy access for all, they have an elevator that my husband made use of because it is a large multi level place. If you don't know anything about the Japanese American internment camps during WW2, I highly encourage you to check out the Yasui exhibit telling local Japanese American history and highlighting a piece of often overlooked American history. This exhibit will be open for about a year. It is very personal and they got the stories straight from the horses mouth, so to speak.

I am so glad I came! I learned a lot about the history of the city and of the state. I was unaware of a lot of the history, and what I did learn was mainly whitewashed. Not to say this was completely comprehensive, but this went into more depth than I realized. It should not have been any surprise that the natives were not treated well at all. I could seriously have spent way more time here than what I did. Reasonable admission prices, there is a lot of information presented here. I highly recommend this museum to anyone wanting to learn more about the state of Oregon.

It is very educational museum. As a Multnomah resident, I entered without paying and learned much more than I read any history books. They have so many great historical sections. Please take your time to enjoy. Would love to be back in the future

Loved the museum on our trip to Portland. There was so much to see and while we didn’t bring kids to the exhibits, it’s very kid-friendly! I loved the flow of the museum and had a great time learning about Oregon and how Portland came to be.

Portland Center Stage is a prominent theater company housed in a converted armory featuring two stages: a 590-seat main stage and an intimate studio theater below. The venue presents classical and contemporary plays and musicals, often with fresh interpretations. One of its productions, Coriolanus, offers a modernized take on the Shakespearean tragedy with an eager female and nonbinary cast. The season's programming reflects political themes, making it didactic yet entertaining.
Wonderful place to see a play! Intimate theater with great acoustics and sight lines. Lobby bar serves beer and wine.

"Portland Center Stage is an exceptional venue that hosts a range of captivating plays. Its offerings tend to lean towards the sophisticated & snoopy, which, while impressive, might not resonate with everyone. It would be fantastic to see them introduce plays that are a bit more accessible to the general public. Making the themes and narratives easier to grasp could help attract a broader audience, ensuring more people can enjoy the magic of live theater. Regardless, it remains a top spot for those who appreciate high-quality productions.
Duy A — Google review
We used to love coming here for several years but now we've moved on to other theaters. Every production here has a social justice theme, gay characters, minority issues, or a Liberal message. What happened to simple fun entertainment with great actors from all walks of life telling interesting and funny stories. We get beat down with constant politics day in and day out and just want to have a couple hours of enjoyment.

I was lucky enough to sit front row for Larry Owen’s, tour de force, Sondheimia this past Monday. It was nothing short of revelatory. What a smart move to get such a talented performer and person to star in a main stage show. And then offering a benefit concert like this raised it even more! This venue was just incredible.

Took my Grandson and his partner to Primary Trust. Liked the start but wasn't sure where it was headed. Ended up loving eveything about it. Cast was great , set was well done. Just a show well worth seeing.

I love everything about the Portland Center Stage. They make live theater accessible to everyone regardless of socioeconomic status! The quality of their performances is superb with various themes and diverse talented artists! The scale rate option and the monthly BIPOC Affinity night were how we were able to get started when we relocated to PDX in 2021! Please check them out and support them however you can: season ticket holder, donate each time you purchase ticket, or go to one of their play. My only rant is the parking situation in the area. Allow yourself time to park and walk to the venue. Street parking is free after 7pm, yet hard to find. Paid parking lots are expensive, limited, and feel unsafe at times if you're alone while female.
Nikky B — Google review
We enjoyed a fine production of “What the Constitution Means to Me.” The venue itself has a fun atmosphere—funky and eclectic.

Why did my tax dollars go to a $1.5million bailout for this company because they lost $15,000 in NEA grants?? Now they still need $6.5million more or they're threatening to shut down AGAIN? 27 theatre companies in Portland lost their NEA grants. The total of all 27 grants was $590,000. For some of the smaller companies, these $15,000 - $30,000 decimated significant portions of their budgets. Some have had to cancel shows. And yet PCS threw them under the bus to "save" themselves (again, they're still threatening to close), while paying their Artistic Director $170,000/year. At what point do we call this mismanagement of not only just a budget, but a budget made of grants and donations??

If you're into curiosities this place is awesome. Very small and only takes about 15-20 minutes to get through but it's so much fun. I took my 8 and 19 year old. My kids are used to my weird personality. If your kids are not maybe don't take them.

As a local, this place has been on my list for years. I found myself in the area this Friday afternoon and finally made a visit. Parking can be very tricky in this neighborhood, especially on a nice day, but I lucked out on a nearby dead end street (24th Place off Vaughn). This is such a cool gem in the NW area! It very much has that roadside attraction/oddities vibe. Great photo ops if you’re with friends! Parts of it almost made me think of a low budget Meow Wolf as it’s somewhat interactive. There is a LOT to see. You could go through it all twice and notice new things the second time. I also really enjoyed the gift shop, which was just as quirky with a lot to see as well! I ended up getting a 3D bat air freshener for my car, but they had a TON of cool sunglasses, stickers, and enamel pins.

Neat! Different! Freaky & weird! If you live the strange and unusual this place is for you. Nestled in the heart of PDX, a 40 year old treasure of a joint that smells like an old school haunted house. It was fun 😊 my husband and I got to enjoy each other while looking at the vampire kit, being greeted by ViNCE! Aliens, and even big foot! $20 for us both $10/each can't beat that. Lloyd Center, located in Portland, is a vibrant mall featuring a variety of chain stores, restaurants, and an indoor ice-skating rink that operates year-round. This historic shopping center opened in 1960 and was one of the largest urban shopping centers at the time. It boasts unique features such as an ice rink, which has been a notable attraction over the years. The mall is home to numerous shops and big box stores including Macy's and Nordstrom.
This mall is somewhat empty but the building and the remaining stores are very pleasant. Plus having an ice rink in the middle of a mall is really cool
Maddie — Google review
Although there were way fewer people and way fewer shops, this mall is still beautiful. It has a Christmas Tree inside for the Holidays. It still has a few places to eat such as Chicken Connection which I found on the food court. It is sad seeing signs seemingly everywhere that offer huge discounts such as ones you would normally see a places nearing the end :(
Eats ! — Google review
Ours wasn’t a bad experience, it was just strange. I would have loved to have seen this place in its heyday. When it had 3 floors of shops and plenty of people to go into them. Now it’s mostly empty store fronts with a few shops here and there and a few food service places. If this were the size of mall I’m used to (two floors, maybe half the length of Lloyd) then it probably wouldn’t feel so strange, but being able to take the pictures I took and not have anyone in them, in the middle of the summer, is certainly odd. Things to note though, it felt very safe. The escalators are pretty much all still running, and the A/C is running as well.
Zack W — Google review
Visited this mall in 2021 — it felt like a ghost town. Only a few stores were open, the food court was bare. I ended up getting Dairy Queen since the other option was bad Chinese food. The ice rink was the only lively spot, but there were homeless people wandering around both inside and outside.
Brian M — Google review
It was so interesting. I really hope that they are able to get more small businesses in here. I can see this place becoming an awesome little weird Portland destination. Pretty abandoned mall, but plenty of parking and wasn’t as dirty as the reviews were saying. Loved that there was a little ice-skating rink, didn’t partake, but maybe next time. Tried the two more popular places to eat in the food court and they were pretty good.
Nancy X — Google review
Unlike any other mall. Very local and community-oriented vendors, to include a pet store that adopts animals and refurbishes pet supplies, a custom lightsaber craftsman, a tailor that makes men's athletic wear onsite, and many more. Auntie Anne's and B&N with a surprisingly deep cafe hold down the old franchise energy, while the local Stoopid Burger has wild and tasty fare in a 50s era diner setting above it all. Factor in the ice skating rink, and the dynamic mall walker parade that takes over every Sunday at opening time, and you have a very memorable and fascinating example of how Portland revived this once-deserted mall.
Alex J — Google review
These stores are OPEN!! This mall has an ice skating rink and tons of activities that happen regularly. Theres tons of fandom activities, like Magic, there’s collectibles stores, an arcade, spas, shoe stores, street wear clothing, dress wear, tons of really good food!! And The Magic store is awesome!! They even do magic shows for the kids. Security is on top of it! These guys are everywhere and really make the effort to stop shop lifting and keep the atmosphere safe for the kids.

Farmers' market
The Portland Farmers Market at PSU is a must-visit for food enthusiasts, offering an impressive array of locally sourced produce, eggs, meat, baked goods, cheese, and more from over 200 vendors. This year-round market showcases the best of Oregon's bounty and supports small businesses and artisan producers. The market takes place every Saturday on the Portland State University campus and is especially vibrant during the spring and summer months.
Produce, baked goods, and food stalls galore! Walked through a beautiful, tree covered sidewalk on our way to the market (see photo attached). Once we arrived there were so many booths to choose from. It was hard picking out what to eat but settled on Twisted Croissant. They had both savory and sweet baked good options. Tried the Rosemary Ham & Cheese Croissant and the Wild Blueberry & Mascarpone Donut. Make sure to look behind you for a wait here sign when walking up to a booth. Made the wait fair and fast. The donut was deliciously light and just the right sweetness. And the croissant was fluffy, packed with so much filling, and what tasted like homemade mustard? Delicious! Still thinking about it one day later. Also tried golden raspberries for the first time from another stall. Tasted mostly like traditional red raspberries but still fun to try!

The Haunted Underground Shanghai Tunnels Tour offers a unique exploration of Portland's historic Chinatown tunnels, which were rumored to have ties to organized crime. Dating back to the mid-19th century, these underground passages were used for illicit activities and connecting docks to basements of establishments. Visitors can join guided ghost, heritage, and cultural tours to delve into the mysterious history of the tunnels.
We absolutely loved our experience at Old Town Pizza & Brewery! We got the house special pizza and garlic knots. Both were absolutely delicious! We also sampled a few of the Old Town Brewery beers and enjoyed all We tried. We did the haunted history tour of the tunnels and loved every minute! The tour was so informative and fun and our tour guide, Natasha was phenomenal! Highly recommend you do it all!!

This was a fun activity my fiance and I did on our date night. Natasha was a great tour guide! I enjoyed learning about the history in a fun way. I'm not much of s beer drinker, but the beer at the end was a nice way to end the night. Natasha was very knowledgeable in not only Portland history, but in architecture as well as many other things. Her quirky personality was a fantastic addition to the tour. I highly recommend giving this a try.
Jesica B — Google review
Great tour! Our guide, Doug, was really fun and had some great stories. I learned a lot about Portland in the creepiest way possible. Are there ghosts? Maybe, but the tunnels are definitely eerie. Would absolutely recommend!
Mitch W — Google review
We were visiting Portland for the weekend and wanted to do something unique. We found this tour and decided to check it out. From a historical standpoint- it’s interesting to see the ‘underground’ side of Portland and walk through a historic building. The pizza place upstairs is cool and pizza smells fantastic. In terms of spookiness, we weren’t necessarily freaked out by the tour but the tour guide (Natasha) did a good job of added some fun stories to help set the mood for spooky time. The tour takes about 1.5 hours. It was a little pricey but overall we are glad we did it.
BackpackingAndy — Google review
I’ve been wanting to do this for a few years now. I love history, and the building is cool. Our tour guide was awesome - engaging, knowledgeable and entertaining. The tunnels were also cool, but the majority of the haunted “stories” are literally just hearsay. It was a lot of “my coworker said they saw”, or “I heard that during a different tour” or “a former employee said they had something happen”, kind of thing. The trap doors are all fake and everything else in the tunnels are recreations of what they believed it to be like during the time the tunnels were originally used. (There is a real sealed trap door in the restaurant under a couch, though). They also aren’t “tunnels” anymore, so much as the basements of Old Town Pizza and one or two of the surrounding buildings. I wish there was an option for a non-drinking guest to have a tasting of anything during the tour. Thankfully I was able to take the included pint of beer to-go at the end of the night to bring to my partner, but otherwise it would be nice to either have a slightly discounted ticket for people who either don’t drink or are gluten-free, or maybe even a soda. Overall, I probably would not go again and it wouldn't be on one of my “must-do in Portland” lists, but if you like history-adjacent storytelling, this is a fun activity to do on a date or with a friend once.
L — Google review
Natasha was the greatest tour guide ever! She turned history into fascinating tales of greed, corruption, human trafficking, and other sordid crimes - her flair and knowledge brought everything to life, keeping us entertained, educated, and safe. The tunnels are spooky and creepy, but an amazing reminder of how far humanity has come and how far it has to go. The craft beer tasting in a replica tunnel speakeasy topped off the night in a grand fashion. This was worth every penny and more...Natasha deserves a raise 😊
Melissa M — Google review
Call it a “tunnel tour”, call it “Things that go BUMP in the basement”, but what you won’t call it is “dull”. This was a great fun and educational night with Natasha bringing great energy to being our comprehensive guide… and the beer’s good too! Would recommend the penultimate tour time each day so you emerge to a still vibrant bar.
Stephen A — Google review
The Haunted Shanghai Tunnel Tour was an incredible experience, made even better by our phenomenal tour guide. He was an unbelievable storyteller, weaving together chilling tales of Portland’s past with fascinating historical details. Though I don’t usually believe in ghosts, I might after hearing the eerie and crazy stories—especially those about the old hotel and the mysterious woman who once lived there. Beyond the supernatural, the guide was a wealth of knowledge about old Chinatown, sharing insights that made the tour both spooky and historically enriching. To top it all off, the pizza place upstairs was absolutely phenomenal! The entire experience was thoroughly enjoyable, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a mix of history, mystery, and a little bit of ghostly intrigue.

Museum
Stark's Vacuum Museum, located near the Burnside Bridge in Portland, is a unique ode to the history of vacuum cleaners. The museum houses over 300 vacuum models dating from the late 19th century to the present day. A recent remodel added an informative timeline display. While some may question its classification as a museum due to its size, it offers an intriguing collection for those interested in vintage vacuums or seeking a quirky party trick.
I'm giving it a 5 star because penalizing an establishment for a potentially lackluster "museum" isn't fair. It's more of a business play than anything else. If you're in the market for a vacuum come here and get a rep to teach you about what's needed to meet your needs. Apparently a good vacuum starts around 400 dollars and one must avoid robot vacuums because they're not as great despite the lack of human touch needed.
K.M.A. — Google review
The vacuum museum is one dedicated wall of Stark's Vacuums. It's well done, free and engaging. Ironically, the vacuum museum doesn't suck!

kinda boring but ig you can make the same joke of it "sucking". don't get tricked of the "out of business" or "lease" sign, just keep walking on the right of the corner and it'll be there.
Placeholder I — Google review
When traveling, my family likes to check out unusual museums and often finds a diamond in the rough. The Quilt Museum in Paducah, KY and the Banjo Museum in OKC are two stellar examples. We were hoping this would be, too. Although they had some neat examples going back to the first consumer vacuums, it was a pretty small display. The highlight for me was that they had the EXACT canister vac from the 50s that my Grandmother had, so that brought back some memories. They also have all manner of high end new vacuum cleaners for sale, so if you're in the market for something like that, have at it. All of that said, it was free and briefly interesting. So, if you're in the area, by all means, stop by.
Zac C — Google review
This is a joke! And a bad one at that. It's nothing like a museum. It's just a bunch of old vacuums on a wall. The entire " museum" is 20 feet long and 8 feet high. I would recommend this if you have out of town relatives that you don't want to come back.

Salt & Straw is an artisanal ice cream maker known for its quirky flavors and handmade waffle cones, drawing crowds to its parlors. The local chain has gained national recognition for its innovative approach to ice cream, offering unique flavors like turkey, stuffing, and mashed potatoes & gravy.
One of my go-to flavors here is the Pear & Blue Cheese—it's unique and always hits the spot. This time, I tried the Peanut Butter Brittle Caramel Fudge, which I really enjoyed. However, the Chocolate Caramel Corn with Candied Peanuts wasn’t for me—I should’ve sampled it first. Thankfully, they let you try as many flavors as you want before deciding. The staff is fantastic—super friendly and patient while people sample and make up their minds. We visited on a sunny day, which made the experience even better. There are spots to sit or stand both inside and out, and it’s a great place for people watching—some folks outside seemed to be there just for that! The only downside is parking—it can be tricky, and you might have to circle the block a few times. Still, we’ll definitely be back.

Salt & Straw is undoubtedly one of Portland’s most iconic ice cream shops, and for good reason. The ice cream is rich, creamy, and bursting with unique, seasonal flavors. The staff is always friendly, and they offer samples of their quirky flavors, which makes it fun to explore new combinations. I tried their honey lavender ice cream, and it was a perfect balance of floral sweetness and creamy texture. They also have dairy-free options, which is great for those with dietary restrictions. The atmosphere in the shop is charming, with a vintage-style interior and a cozy vibe. Salt & Straw is a must-visit if you’re in Portland, especially if you’re a fan of unusual flavor pairings. Whether you’re indulging in a scoop on a hot summer day or picking up a pint to take home, you won’t be disappointed by the quality and creativity of their ice cream.

Five Stars Isn’t Enough! Salt & Straw is hands-down the pinnacle of ice cream perfection in Oregon. Every visit feels like a gourmet adventure, and the creativity behind each flavor is unmatched. We’ve tried plenty of ice cream spots, but nothing comes close to this place. Our absolute flavor favorite? The Truffle Butter—rich, savory, and beautifully balanced. It blew our minds and instantly became our gold standard. Way better than the Duck Butter (which was still good!), but the Truffle Butter was on a whole other level. From the moment you walk in, the aroma, the welcoming vibe, and the sample-friendly staff make the experience unforgettable. Salt & Straw isn’t just an ice cream shop—it’s a flavor journey. If you’re in Oregon and don’t stop here, you’re seriously missing out!

Came in with some friends. They had patience of waiting for the long line but I did not. I just grabbed the pint of honey lavender flavor ice cream in their fridge then went straight to the cashier so I didnt have to wait in line. The ice cream was delicious and one of my favorite flavors, then 2nd would be blue cheese n pear flavor. The atmosphere was clean and the place smells like amazing vanilla scent because of the waffle cones they make there. One of my favorite ice cream places ❤️

I think this was literally the best ice cream I’ve had in my life. They offer a nice variety of flavors, including seasonal options that seem to rotate out. My favorite was the cinnamon snickerdoodle. All the staff was very kind, and there was plenty of sitting and standing tables inside.

I liked that this store opened late and it had very unique flavours. The aesthetic of the place is also very different for an icecream store, but in a cool way! I like that they give you the option to try the flavours before purchasing, and that they have dog ice creams as well! I tried the blue cheese and pear icecream and it was super refreshing. Staff was nice, and the wait wasn’t too long.

Stumptown Coffee Roasters is a popular coffee bar chain known for its house-roasted direct-trade coffee, brewing gear, and whole beans. The brand has gained nationwide and international popularity due to its exceptional coffee, with a personal favorite being their cold brew available in various flavors. Stumptown is committed to the third wave coffee movement and sustainability, ensuring that great coffee does not come at the expense of the planet or people involved in its production.
When we travel, we like to check out different coffee shops, and during our trip to Portland, we decided to try this one. It was very busy, the line was so long that we had to wait outside until the security guard let us in, and then we still had to wait in line. There was only one cashier taking orders and two baristas making drinks. They were efficient, but having more staff would definitely help reduce the wait time for customers. The coffee itself was excellent. I also ordered a sausage roll, but was surprised to find jalapeños in it since the menu didn’t mention that ingredient.

Being downtown on a Sunday morning always offers a different vibe. The freedom from parking worries allows me to explore more and relax before the hustle and bustle begins. I can comfortably sit and savor the taste of coffee. I usually buy Stumptown coffee beans during sales at Fred Meyer and stick to Single Origin for pour-over brewing. Additionally, I enjoy Groundwork's Ethiopia light roast, extracting it using an espresso machine. When visiting Portland, I exclusively drink Stumptown coffee, and this specific store is my go-to place, particularly on Sunday mornings. Street parking is free until 1 p.m. on Sundays, making it even more convenient. I definitely recommend this spot!

Was surprised to see a security at the front door- but it was reassuring to know that there’s one considering the fact that a lot of people telling me that the downtown Portland area is a bit dangerous. If you’re in town, Stumptown is definitely a must- whichever branch you go.

Randomly was looking for coffee and we found this! It does have a security person outside because the line gets long and to avoid over crowding. Which I appreciated. Line move swiftly. Had a vanilla latte and a specialty coffee drink. Clean and friendly service. Simple menu which is great if you truly enjoy good quality coffee. There is space to sit there and restrooms but is busy inside if you stay long.

We had an iced latte and I honestly didn’t like it. It had a weird aftertaste. I can’t explain it but it wasn’t a good taste. Atmosphere was cool though. Nice and chill vibe. They even had a security guard at the door. I’m assuming because of the homeless and druggies in the area. Don’t go wandering in the area.

Stumptown Coffee Roasters is a Portland favorite for good reason. It’s a place that’s serious about coffee, offering expertly brewed cups with a focus on quality and sustainability. The café itself has a cozy, minimalist design with plenty of natural light, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy your coffee. I ordered a classic flat white, and it was smooth, well-balanced, and not overly bitter. The coffee was rich and full of flavor, with a subtle sweetness that made it perfect on its own. What sets Stumptown apart from other coffee shops is their commitment to sourcing high-quality beans and supporting ethical coffee farming practices. Whether you’re a coffee aficionado or just looking for a great cup of joe, Stumptown Coffee Roasters will not disappoint.

Grab and go for my morning coffee, but I appreciate the personal service and hustle of the staff. I enjoyed my Montes de Oro drip coffee with a couple pumps of simple syrup. It is so much easier than having to stir in the sugar. I also got a personal mug filled with a almond milk carmel latte for a companion. Service was prompt but not rushed.

Pip's Original Doughnuts & Chai is a trendy coffee cafe known for its freshly made mini-donuts and a variety of chai and espresso drinks. Located in Northeast Portland, this cozy two-room shop is always bustling with customers eager to try their piping hot, made-to-order mini donuts.
We chose Pip’s Mobile instead of a traditional wedding cake because we wanted our wedding to be interactive and fun for our guests. Having the doughnut truck parked right at the venue let everyone pick their favorite doughnut and drink flavors at their own pace, which created such a lively and joyful vibe. The ordering process was a breeze. I paid a deposit to secure our date, and the team emailed me closer to the wedding to discuss seasonal flavor options. Everything was clear and easy from start to finish. On the day of, setup was simple and smooth. Pip’s Mobile just pulled up and parked at the entrance to the warehouse door, and guests walked down the driveway to place their orders. The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming, making the experience feel even more special. The doughnuts and drinks were endless for the entire hour, keeping everyone happy and coming back for more. The moment they were ready, the line quickly formed, and stayed packed because everyone was so excited. The doughnuts and drinks were absolutely delicious. The quality was superb, and as a lovely surprise, Pip’s created custom signature flavors just for my husband and me. That personal touch made it even more memorable. Plus, their Emmy Lou Chai is one of my all-time favorites! I would absolutely recommend Pip’s Mobile to any couple looking for a unique, delicious, and interactive dessert option. Our photographer captured some of my favorite wedding moments with the truck and doughnuts, and it’s definitely one of the sweetest memories of our day.

Yes, yes! Must go if you’re in Portland! They were the most scrumptious little mini donuts, with the perfect amount of sweetness that will leave you wanting more! The chai was really good too! However, be ready to wait in line for awhile depending on when you go.

What else can I say about their donuts! Their bite-sized donuts taste so great when eaten fresh. I have been going there for years now. My favorite donut flavor will always be bacon donuts. I can't wait to get more donuts soon.

Small line out the door on a Saturday before 11am but it went by fairly quickly. Appreciate the freshly made-to-order doughnut drops! Cinnamon sugar was the hitter. Not too sweet. Crunchy but soft while hot and fresh and at the end of the day. Delicious!! New rules: make sure to get your Birthday Dozen ON your actual Birth Day! So worth it!

I was legit come here everyday If it meant i could never get fat. Or if i had infinite money. The staff is so kind and they have the best donuts i ever HAD. I would skip on the iced matcha, i enjoy the hot one better but to each their own. I haveeeee to try the chai next time! I LOVE PIPS

Bring your ID, go on your birthday and enjoy! Absolutely delicious and wonderful flavors available. Go even when it’s not your birthday as well for fresh warm donuts anytime 🍩
Toto — Google review
On a Monday around 11am the line was very long. About 45 minutes from being in line to getting my order. That being said the donuts are very good, great variety of flavors and the base donut is soft with a crisp outside. The drink I tried was a little watery but the flavors were good. Staff is also really nice, and the birthday offer is generous. Will definitely be back!
Alisa H — Google review
We came here on a Sunday noon and waited around 15 ish minutes. The wait was worth it. We ordered flavors in maple bacon mocha cream and the May season pancake. These are small sized doughnuts. Everything was delicious especially the maple bacon ones. Sweet and savory at the same time. Surprisingly delicious. And chai teas worked really well with doughnuts Thanks to the store for the free dozen as one of our party celebrated her birthday.

Providence Park is a historic stadium in Portland, built in 1893 and home to various sports teams including the Portland Timbers, Thorns, and Vikings. Over the years, it has hosted diverse events such as cricket matches, ski jumping competitions, and even an iconic Elvis concert in 1957. Attending a Timbers game here offers an electrifying experience with passionate fans creating a vibrant atmosphere.
I visited Providence Park twice this week, and both experiences were equally excellent! The entire operation runs like clockwork, creating an environment that feels safe, friendly, and efficient. A heads-up for first-timers: Regular-sized bags aren’t allowed in the stadium. All belongings must be in either clear bags or small pouches no larger than 11cm x 20cm. I found this out the hard way and had to use the paid lockers, which cost $15 per visit. Since the app didn’t work with my UK number, a very helpful steward came over to assist. He eventually let us through with my slightly oversized bag, a kind and accommodating gesture that really stood out. The entire staff team was helpful and attentive throughout both visits. The atmosphere at both games was fantastic. Football here feels more family-oriented than in the UK, there were lots of children, women, and even teenie babies wearing ear defenders 💕 As for stadium food, it’s actually quite decent! We had nachos one night and chicken the other, both enjoyable. However, be prepared for steep prices: two cans of beer set us back $32 (with tip). That’s pretty wild! All in all, it was a great experience, and I would highly recommend a visit!
K C — Google review
Not very organized getting people into the stadium nor getting to your section. The security was really really slow, it took 20 minutes for our line to move 2 feet. Overall it was another hour to get in the stadium. Once we got in it was another fiasco to get into our section as the ticket checker wasn’t not very sure who was going where. Overall a cool stadium but they need to work on organization.

Fabulous experience attending our first MLS match. Electrifying environment - the fans are truly passionate, creating a fabulous atmosphere. Decent food and drinks but $$. Definitely family oriented. We sat in the cheap seats - really, a long bench - but views were still very reasonable.

Our first professional soccer game was here. Timbers vs Quakes. The food, like in all stadiums, wasn't great, but the atmosphere compensated. Access was easy but parking almost turned into a headache since they don't have a designated parking lot. Good luck finding parking on the streets or using one of the $40 for three hours of use private parking lots. Besides that, we had a blast!

Visited Providence Park for A Thorns match. Great ticket prices for being close to the field. Easy to navigate the stadium and find our seats. There was variety in the concession area. Great walkability inside the stadium without congestion especially during halftime. Have to visit for a Timbers match.

I thought it was great for the concert. I think the staff will get better at handling the larger crowds over time. It was fun to walk around and try out the different pubs before the concert. I loved the open area atmosphere while watching the concert.

Incredible Wild Card Match at Providence Park! Our son’s soccer team from Salem got to walk out with players from both teams for the National Anthem — an unforgettable experience for the kids. The Timbers won 3-1 and are moving on to Round 1 of the playoffs! The atmosphere was electric, the crowd was loud, and Mora’s follow-up goal had the stadium roaring. A perfect family outing and such a special place for young players to see what’s possible! Go Timbers!
Lowell A — Google review
This particular event that we went to was a major concert, and it was extremely unorganized. It was completely understaffed. It took hours in line just to get in and they opened the gates late and it was hot, and most of us paid hundreds of dollars for our tickets to miss the first half of this show because of poorly trained employees and understaffing. I am an avid concert goer, and have been to big huge venues, like Lumen field in Seattle, I've been to the Gorge, White River amphitheater, and Spokane arena, even smaller venues in Portland did better job than this place. I will probably never see a concert here again because of the experience, I hope they can figure out how to make it a smoother. PS....Post Malone and Jelly Roll were off the hook!

Council Crest Park, established in 1937, is a sprawling 42.95-acre hilltop park located in the southwest portion of Portland. Sitting over a thousand feet above sea level, it offers breathtaking panoramic views of the city and surrounding mountains. The park features paved and unpaved paths, picnic areas, public art installations, dog off-leash zones, and a reserved wedding site.
Nice place, well kept. My Cersei and I walked around. I found a bench with a view. Let her off the leash and she had a blast. Very relaxing place.

So peaceful and serene, such a beautiful place. Terrific views of southwest, Mt. Hood, and north towards Mt. St. Helens. On clear days you can see Mt. Adams, and somedays in the right spot you can even see Mt. Rainier. One of the best places in the Portland area for a picnic, and never (in my experience) crowded.
Brent J — Google review
Beautiful area with great views. There’s some trails for walking too. Be sure to stand in the center of the circle and hear your echo. I think this is the tallest point in Portland
Timothy P — Google review
Kinda expected to see more. I mean, scenic vista-wise. Not expected: an enormous water tower and communications tower as unavoidable main attractions. The set up designed for establishing the park site’s significance was odd. One plaque described a view of Columbia and Willamette Rivers along with Mt. Hood — except none of these was visible due to obstructing vegetation. A second plaque described an amusement park there — except that was in 1909-1929. So, the significance according to these markers were things not to be seen. On the OTHER hand, right there, impossible to be missed (the proverbial white elephant on the hillside crest), were the two towers. And they were both neglected by the Plaque Masters. Admittedly, the location is serene, nice for a leisurely stroll, and sparsely appointed with flowering garden sorts of features, like paths, benches facing random directions, a flowering plant here and there. Mostly grass, however. Those TOWERS though! My, I wanted to learn more about them. Perhaps next time? …

This park...while I had wanted to experience the hike up via the trail system, I ran out of time during my visit. Its a little oasis at the top of Portland. There are some beautiful trees and maintained flower beds to enjoy. And I bet on a clear day, either the sunrise or sunset would be spectacular.

Pinolo Gelato is an upscale spot offering Italian-style gelato and sorbetto made with local fruit and natural ingredients. The gelato is served slightly warmer than ice cream, using milk instead of cream, resulting in a denser, velvety texture with intense flavors. While sticking to classic flavors like plain milk and fior di latte, the gelataio also innovates with creations like the summer foresta flavor pairing pine bud tips with local strawberry and elderflower sorbet.
The best ice cream/gelato place in Portland. They have 10 or so flavors and they all look interesting. If this was in my neighborhood, I would visit here everyday and try every flavor. I went there around lunchtime, so wait was not so bad. I had Adamio e Eve which is fig leaf and pine nuts flavor it was so good. Also I had hazelnut. Intense flavor of hazelnut was fantastic. I’ll be visiting there often. They have a nice size seating inside and few tables outside.

We’ve been here a few times this summer. One of the rare spots in PDX where you can still get legit gelato after 9pm, open 7 days a week, 11:30 AM to 10:30 PM. Hours are accurate on Yelp and posted on their door, but the voicemail is outdated (probably too busy scooping to update it). It’s one of the better gelato places in Portland, made fresh daily with local ingredients, including dairy-free options that still hit the sweet spot. You really can’t go wrong with their seasonal or classic flavors. Affogato is my go-to here, especially with hazelnut or pistachio: -$6.95 for a single -$9.25 for a double Prices are on the higher end but still reasonable: -Small (2 flavors) – $5.95 -Medium (3 flavors) – $6.95 -Large (3 flavors) – $8.50 -Pints – $13.00 Service is mostly solid. They’re generous with samples, which is appreciated, no attitude if you want to try a few. During busy rushes, though, things can get chaotic and you may get skipped if your group is unclear or staff gets flustered. Be patient! Seating: Plenty inside. Outside, there are four small round tables on the sidewalk, two chairs each. Parking: Free street parking in the area, but good luck finding it during peak hours or weekends. Restroom: One stall, no toilet seat covers, and a posted sign that speaks for itself: PLEASE RESPECT THE USE OF THIS RESTROOM. IT IS BEING PROVIDED FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE. DO NOT URINATE ALL OVER THE TOILET AND THE FLOOR. THANK YOU. (Yes, that’s really posted.)

Pinolo is hands down the best gelato I’ve had outside of Italy. It’s a hidden gem in Portland, and I was genuinely glad to see it’s still around after being away from the city for over ten years. I always go for the Stracciatella, Hazelnut, and Pistacchio—they’re classic, smooth, and packed with flavor. Nothing overly sweet or artificial, just high-quality gelato done right. You can tell they take it seriously. I used to bring my daughter here back in the day, and those are some great memories. Every time I’m back in Portland, I make a point to stop by. If you’re looking for legit gelato, this is the spot.

Delicious gelato served up by friendly staff. Smoooooth , creamy , and full of flavor, the gelato served up by Pinolo is worth the visit. Prices are bit more but the quality and service warrant these prices. Handicap doable and recommended. Restrooms available! Final take---If you can't make it to Florence , Italy for a gelato at the Gelateria Dei Neri , head to Pinolo..........gustare!

Best gelato in Portland. Really well priced. The small lets you choose two flavors. You can order a cup and still get a cone on top for free. My wife and I had the Foresta (pine/juniper flavor), Amarena (italian sugared cherry flavored), Pistachio, & Stracciatella (milk flavor with dark chocolate bits). All the flavors tasted very high quality and were made with a large amounts of the ingredients they were flavored with. None of it tastes artificially flavored or enhanced. The pistachio actually tasted like pistachios right out of the shell and all. I highly recommend coming here.

Filipino restaurant
Magna Kusina, led by chef Carlo Lamagna, has become a significant part of the culinary scene in Portland. The restaurant offers a diverse menu featuring Filipino dishes such as coconut milk-infused veggies, chicken heart skewers, and sizzling sisig. Despite facing closure during the pandemic, the restaurant reopened with a revamped menu that includes traditional snacks like lumpia and creative interpretations of Filipino cuisine.
My friends and I love Magna. Chef Carlo and his team make sure you have an amazing experience. Not only are the food and drinks terrific, but the atmosphere is chill and friendly. It's a great place to hang out with friends and family. The food is easy to order for sharing so you can try multiple dishes, which I totally suggest. You can't go wrong ordering anything, but some suggestions... * The lumpia and chicharon with shishitos covered in salted egg dust. These make a great starter while trying to narrow down what else to order. * One of my favorite combos - the Sisig (crispy pork bits, onions, chili topped with runny egg) and the garlic rice. It's also great with the Pancit Bihon. * If you're into crab definitely get the Mom's Crab Fat Noodles - Dungeness crab + corn-pepper chow chow over squid ink noodles made in house. Go for it by adding the fried soft shell crab.

This spot has been on our list to check out for a while, and we finally visited yesterday (Saturday) for lunch. We walked in at 11:45am. There was no waiting time. As soon as I went in, I smelled something strong. It wasn't musty. Something else. It comes from cleaning, but I can't describe. The cook or mama? had a bandana on (shown in my photo). Awesome! Who wants a piece of hair in their food? There was only 1 server who was very friendly and welcoming. Since they have a small menu, we got our food quickly. I had the mama's crab fat noodles but the portion wasn't big enough for me. I later got the pancit bihon which I liked better than the crab noodles. The sauce of crab noodles tasted good, but the noodles were overcooked for me. I didn't taste the squid ink either. I've had a better one at another restaurant. I didn't spot any flies but did see a dead bug on one of the windows inside, and spider webs here and there.
Bon B — Google review
I tried Magna Kusina in Portland and the food was genuinely good. Highlights were the squid ink fat noodles with crab—savory, briny, and nicely al dente—and several other dishes that were well-seasoned and thoughtfully presented. Service was friendly and the ambiance was warm. However, I was really disappointed to find a mandatory 20% “service fee” added at checkout without clear upfront disclosure. It wasn’t mentioned by staff and I only saw it when paying. Regardless of how restaurants structure wages or tips, this feels misleading. Please make this charge obvious on the menu and before ordering so guests can decide with full information.

Lunch menu must try: * Mom's Crab Fat Noodles- an absolute flavor bomb-rich, creamy, and perfectly indulgent with just the right touch of acidity. (Available on lunch and dinner) * Willie's Pork Rib Adobo- pork rib is so tender that you can easy separate meat from the bone and even the rice also packed with rich flavor. (Lunch menu only) I also really enjoyed the side sauce on the Chicken Inasal dish—it was packed with flavor and had just the right hint of spiciness. Make sure to finish up your meal with the dessert-Bibingka, a warm and spongy coconut-rice cake from the Philippines. It's truly a delightful way to end the meal!
Claudia C — Google review
Featured in comedian James Acaster’s dream menu on the “Off Menu” podcast a couple of years ago, we had to eventually try this place. We had a covered table outside and ordered a selection of dishes. The grasshopper shots to start the meal were surprisingly good and every dish that followed was unique, tasty and perfect for sharing. The covered area outside was cozy, warm and perfect for a group. My favorite dish - sisig, but all were good.
Kirby C — Google review
I wasn't sure what to expect since I hadn't had Filipino food in Portland before (and I can be particular about my Filipino food sometimes), but friends spoke highly of Magna Kusina so a group of us went while we were in town — and I'm so glad we did! We had a reservation and were seated outside. It was a busy Saturday night, and it was especially busy indoors, and I think most of us were relieved to have some fresh air. Our server was friendly and helpful, walking us newbies through the popular food and drink options. It was great to be in a group of foodies who were only too happy to share family style — we got to try a ton of dishes, among them: chicken skewers, lumpia, sisig, crab fat noodles, pancit bihon, pork rib adobo, garlic rice, and of course can't forget that halo-halo at the end. There were cocktails and other drinks too, like ube grasshopper shots and San Miguel beer. Everything was delicious! They describe their food as a modern take on Filipino cuisine, which feels accurate — not strictly traditional, not fusion, but creative and upscale. I'd happily return on a future trip to Portland!

We really enjoyed this little place. We sat outside and that was nice. We ordered a sisig shrimp skewer, a steak skewer, lumpia and garlic rice. The shrimp are huge and beautiful, but definitely overcooked. The steak was probably the best steak skewer I’ve ever had in my life. It was spicy and tender, and I would 100% order that again. The lumpia was crispy and tasted just like it should. I cannot comment on the sisig because the egg on top of it was almost completely raw so I couldn’t eat it. If the yolk had been runny, it would’ve been OK to eat, but raw egg white is a definite no for me. My husband said it was good though. The service was fantastic, and even though we went shortly before close, every seat was taken inside. The servers were friendly and fast.

My Mom is not the easiest woman to impress with filipino food, she has high standards after growing up cooking it all her life. With that being said, we were blown away with everything at Magna Kusina! We got the chicken inasal and the pork rib adobo. Both meats were juicy and flavorful and it was the best garlic rice we’ve ever had! Thank you Chef Jade! The service itself was impeccable as well, we enjoyed a nice conversation with Carlo and Dante who really made us feel like family while we were dining. My mom and I have never fought over halo halo the way we did here. Anyways if you are debating to go here, just GO!! You won’t regret it. We actually made reservations to come back the the day after but my Mom had to leave Oregon early :( We will definitely be back the next time we visit! Thank you Magna Kusina!!!

Both women curating these collections have impeccable taste and it is a constant feast for the eyes. The perfect gift shopping experience for this season, and exactly how I wanted to spend my own birthday gift to myself. Making an appointment was simple, and I even had the treat of running into old friends. Love love love this place.

I want to live inside this store! It's all gorgeous and so fun! Very eclectic inventory with a mix of old and new. There is something to look at everywhere and the decor is creative and transportive. Totally reminds me of how Anthropologie used to be. Staff is helpful, and there is also a bathroom available. For kimono lovers, there is a great selection of men's and women's kimono (though a lack of Haori), along with juban, obi (mostly fukuro), and some accessories. Probably the best in the city. Behind the museum Cafe has a couple kimono but the selection here is much larger. Not to mention more teaware available, like chawan. I was sad to miss their annual kimono sidewalk sale as I was in town visiting and unable to accommodate it into our itinerary. But apparently it's a big deal and if you live close by or can time your visit to the sale, I recommend it. They have inventory for it that is not put out a majority of the year.

Every time I come to Portland, I go to Cargo. It's a really interesting store that's fun to browse. Lots of unique gifts from all over the world. I particularly like the unique items from Asia. Lots of antique furniture too from India, Southeast Asia, China and Japan. Recently, they started leading space in their store to specific artists. This is nice to see so individuals can market themselves more directly.

I had such a fabulous trip to Cargo today! I wandered in to check out jewelry and hooooo boy was I not disappointed! I’m not much of a jewelry girlie but I timidly asked for help putting a jewelry wardrobe together for an upcoming wedding. Wow, never imagined I’d walk away with such special, gorgeous pieces from the Hill Tribes of the Indochinese Peninsula. And ya know, relatively affordable! I’m so thrilled and I highly recommend to anyone looking for unique pieces. As the Love Islanders say, I’m absolutely buzzin!

I loved something in every corner of the shop. It was a combination of my mom and Nana's esthetic, which is the highest compliment. The gorgeous woman (with a nephew named Jasper) who checked us out made my son's day. Thank you!

Oaks Amusement Park, established in 1905, is a family-friendly destination featuring a variety of attractions. The park boasts one of the oldest roller rinks in the country and offers activities such as mini-golf, classic carnival games, and an array of rides suitable for all ages. From the historic Carousel to bumper cars and a Ferris wheel, there are over 20 rides to enjoy.
My family had a fantastic time at this vintage amusement park, which opened in 1905. Grandpa (me) even tried a few thrill rides for the first time in many years—Tilt-A-Whirl and Scrambler and survived! The bumper cars were a blast as well. The grandkids, ages 11 and 8, were in Nirvana at the Oaks. It was an overcast day and it rained occasionally but we didn’t mind because lines were short. Highly recommended!

Had a really fun day at the park yesterday with my kiddo and nieces. There was a nice variety of rides which even my short little two-year-old could enjoy. We went on a kids' day where adults are free and you pay for the kids' tickets and they just need an adult on some rides. The staff could use some training so they know how many spots they can fit. Lots of unnecessary delays because the staff were undertrained. Overall very fun. Kids had a blast which is all we could ask for.

8/16/25: so much has changed since I last came to Oaks Parks! 💫💫 Last time I came was about 5 years ago?! 😅😊 ❤️ No entrance fee, yay! (Glad this hasn't changed!🙏). The staffs are friendly 🩷 🎢 Cost for rides: depends on height and safety requirement, if accompanying child under 48" (4 feet), age (if senior, 62 years and older), you can add-on Roller Skate, etc. Tickets can be purchased at the ticket booth. 🚫💵 Payments are cashless (NO cash) 💳 👍 pay for parking--parking machines does not accept cash (Lots of parking machines near the entrance. Have your car license number ready!) 😋 Lots of food selections: Burgers, fries, pizza, chicken tenders and more! There's also lots of food carts! 🚙 parking is plenty by the Roller Rink area. Hard to find parking near the entrance. 🎠🎡🎢🚂 LOTS of things to do! Lots of rides! Lots of games to play! And lots of food to eat! 👾 lots of games and arcade games: you'll need to purchase tickets for certain games (tickets can be purchased at the ticket booth); and you'll need a game card for certain games (game card can be purchased near the games). 🩷 highly recommended for the whole family! Definitely would come back again! 🩷😊

First time visiting this amusement park and it's one of my favorite 😍! First amusement park I've been to that has no entrance fee and affordable parking only $4. The tickets price is great since it grants you access to pretty much all the rides. There's plenty entertainment for everyone to enjoy. Many food selections and they have special events as well...Halloween event this weekend! Most importantly I noticed that the staff double and triple check for safety on all the rides I was on. I would definitely visit again and recommend this park to others!

So awsome! The big roller coaster is so smooth and exciting but not painful like some can be. The smller Rollercoaster definitely not the same quality in build. We were surprised about the gocarts. Didn't even notice while planning so it was a perfect surprise. We got the unlimited bracelets with the rollerskating add on. I was very impressed with the rink. Just like the good old days! There is a looong practice area just outside the rink so people can get used to being on wheels. Not a fan of the bumper cars! It's called something else and you are supposed to everyone drive one direction. Like I need to go to an amusement park to experience grid lock traffic in what supposed to be bumper cars. Dumb lol. Over all so great. We will definitely be back

I was very impressed with the haunted houses. They had 3 of them, and they had a lot of characters running around very scary or very friendly. We went on a Sunday and there wasn't much of a wait. We were able to do all 3 haunted houses in an hour. There was one haunted house that had a lot of strobe lights at the end. So if that bothers you definitely be careful of that But it had a good amount of scare and darkness in each haunted house.

Visited this place to watch the Rose City Roller Derby game! The park itself was closed, but a fun venue for to watch roller derby! Side note however, do NOT sit by the entry door of the arena! The out houses give inside the place a pretty awful smell! 😖 Was a fun experience tho and would definitely visit the park when its open! Looked really fun!! ❤️

Revolution Hall is a popular entertainment complex located in the former Washington High School building in SE Portland. The venue boasts a rooftop terrace offering breathtaking views of Downtown Portland, making it a favorite spot for locals and visitors alike. The complex includes a music venue, two bars, and an old auditorium that has been renovated into a unique space for live shows.
I just attended the Black and Loud Tour. This is a great venue to see a show. The staff were very helpful finding us ADA seating, everyone was courteous and the drink prices were reasonable. Heck I even won a painting. An experience to remember! Thank you.
Matthew — Google review
This is a fun music venue. Several bars are in the building. For general admission, as long as you were tall I think it works very well. There is a little bit of slope to the floor in the back so if you were shorter, I would recommend trying to get to the front. Sound quality has been reliable and good. The last two shows we saw there were excellent. building itself is a little strange as it’s an old school I believe. It’s definitely a mixed use building with some businesses Incorporated into it as well. The bars that serve drinks outside of the music venue area allow you to bring the drinks into the music venue so it works well from that standpoint. all in all if you have a band that you like that is coming to revolution Hall, I think it is a good experience. I haven’t tried the food there, but I really don’t think that is why people end up going there.
Jeff P — Google review
Excellent venue to see live music. Sound and lighting were fantastic. Bars right outside the hall were easy to grab a drink and featured great local selections.

This venue is crucial to go to see a show at. Saw Knower there tonight and damn! The sound was amazing. Lots of seating in the balcony and room to dance below. Multiple bars in the building you can purchase food and drinks from, and are allowed to take them into the hall. Staff were helpful and kind. Rooftop view is stunning. Go see a show there!

Saw the amazing John Butler here! Lovely venue...nostalgic as it was probably once a high school, complete with chalkboard. Great bar and very good acoustics.

Arrived early for the JJ Grey & Mofro concert—about a ten-minute walk from Jupiter Next Hotel where we staycationed for the night. Ordered a Hazy, an IPA, and fries at the bar. Sipped our beers while waiting for the fries at the pick-up window. We went to the rooftop bar with our drinks and fries. Great city view and seating options. Perfect evening for outside. Ordered another IPA round at the rooftop bar...frosty metal cups. Nice! The fries: Thin like shoe string—dry, no potato-inside because too thin—not great. The venue and concert: awesome. Looking foward to going back for 80s video dance club in July.

I had a blast. Great venue, easy to get to, I took public transportation from Beaverton. Always great sound and easy access bar, with awesome staff. The only drawback is how warm it can get and how there always seems to be one couple talking in the middle of a song loudly yet nowhere near the back or in the hall outside. Cheers! Bayside rocked our socks off to boot, as is tradition. The first picture was an hour before the show, the second was sound check.

Went to see the Grand Prix with my Italian friend. We roasted in the heat but some nice ladies came along with cold drinks! The big screen showed all the action as we sat on the bleachers at Turn 7 and that turn was, as promised, "interesting."

Had a great time at the Nascar race. Parking was great and close to the track. This time I opted for VIP tickets so I had shade, catered food and air conditioned bath room. The staff where so friendly from entering to park all the way until we left. The speaker system cut out some times asks it would have been nice to have which lap they where on displayed in the screens.

Had a great time there with a TA2 West double header. Day one did not yield the results that we hoped for, but we found some level of redemption on day two finishing third on the podium.
David P — Google review
The Indy Car races here were a blast! The place is well maintained, managed with kind staff and easy access to anything you might need. Plenty of bathrooms, which was impressive considering the crowd. The races were fun to watch at PIR because the sound, video and stadium seating options were very nice. The paddock was fun to check out and get up close to all the crews that keep these racers going. I have previously been to PIR for Christmas lights and a couple 5ks, but this is definitely the best experience I've had here. Highly recommend this place.

Located in the southernmost end of Portland's Forest Park, Witch's Castle is a fascinating site with a mysterious past. Despite its name, it is not actually a castle nor was it ever inhabited by witches. This old stone building, dating back to the 1930s, was originally used as a public bathroom for hikers and later served as the park ranger station.
The "witches castle" is cool, but honestly even the walk to it and around it is just beautiful. A lovely little stream running along the trail. The trail has a few spots the had water runoff over it but other than that the trail was very decent. Also, lots of parking.. I think I saw 3 or 4 different lots.
Valerie K — Google review
The path to Witch’s Castle feels like the beginning of a tale…just a short half-mile walk, with the trail dipping down as if leading you into another world. When the stone walls of the castle appear, covered in layers of graffiti, it doesn’t feel ruined but it feels alive, like the forest and time have been painting it together. The colors make it eerie and mysterious, as though the castle keeps secrets whispered in the moss. Perfect for wandering with a sense of curiosity… or staging a Halloween photo shoot straight out of a ghost story. Bonus: we found a banana slug on the trail !
Thu L — Google review
The hike next to the creek is beautiful, east to moderate walking some tree limbs and mud and fun to cross the bridge. But unfortunately people have desecrated (the old building) Witches castle with spray paint. While I was there, two teenagers were leaving alcohol and smoking in it while I was trying to get my pictures….
Cecilia T — Google review
We took the shorter 0.5 mile hike from the Upper Macleay parking lot. Awesome hike, would have been a short hike but we kept stopping to take photos and enjoy the views. The Witch's Castle itself was so cool and there were friendly people around just enjoying the day.
Destiney E — Google review
People have ruined what would have been a cool spot. We hiked down from the parking lot off the road. We were saddened to see so much graffiti. I think it tool away from the experience! Try and go at a time to avoid the heat otherwise it was a nice little hike.

Wildfang caters to individuals looking for tomboy fashions such as blazers, button-downs, wingtips, and bow ties designed to fit female frames.
OK ~ their clothes are really cool [I just bought the "flower suit" so I can be the "flower girl" in an upcoming wedding and it looks fab] but I am even more impressed by their customer service! Emily at the downtown store was so patient with me and really sweet when I misplaced my phone. They were also very knowledgeable about the clothes and how to do their job ~ I definitely will come back. Big thanks to Emily and Wildfang!!

Worst customer service I’ve experienced in a long time at a local retail company. I order one of their Wild Feminist tee shirts because of the horrible political climate going on in our country these days. I needed it for a trip I was going on, so I paid $30 for EXPRESS OVERNIGHT SHIPPING. It was supposed to arrived on Friday, February 28th. The package got delayed and sat in Oakland CA for 2 days. The packages didn’t get delivered until March 3rd! I contacted FedEx and asked them to refund me the $30. FedEx told me there was nothing they could do and I needed to contact WildFang for a shipping refund. I emailed WildFang, explained the situation, and asked to be refunded since the service I paid for I did not receive. They did NOT respond to my email. Then when I got the item this evening after getting home from my trip, it was covered in brown stains all inside the tee that is visible on the outside of the tee. So not only did I completely waste $30 on overnight express shipping, didn’t have the tee for the trip I went on, and it’s also covered in brown stains. I’ve tried to get the stains out with stain remover and the stains are not coming out. This was my first purchase and will be my last. Never shopping here again. Worst experience ever.

It started with the basic coverall jumpsuit in black and has blossomed to 5 of those is different colors, 3 suits, wide leg geo print pants, 3 button ups, a corset (that I wear as a cummerbund)… yes I’m in love. Their inclusive designs fit every human’s lifestyle and their gender neutral options allow the person wearing it to be the star! I’m a middle-aged, female that prefers classic tailoring that isn’t boring. Wildfang is exactly that for me.
Darcey H — Google review
Walked in right when they opened this morning and got great service. Liked my jumpsuit so much that I wore it out of the store and have literally been getting compliments from strangers on the street all day today. Great shop and so happy I had the chance to try on the clothes in person rather than order online!
Valinda L — Google review
One of the most fashionable clothing shop in Portland! I have been walking by the store lately to get to work nearby and I always see very colorful and sharp looking clothes. One day I decided to go in during my lunch and see for myself what Wild Fang had to offer. It was very clean and the staff was friendly. Lauren was the one that greeted me and I told her I was on the hunt for a nice pair of overalls. She showed me around the store and informed me of all the choices and that a sale was going on. I am trying to dress a bit nicer but I didn't know where to start and Lauren was a big help. Thanks Lauren! I ultimately went with a nice pair of black coveralls and since Wild Fang was participating in the Shop Small, Win Big event, I got entered into a raffle as well. Score! I love seeing stores getting involve with the community and participating in programs that encourage people to shop local. Needless to say I am very happy with my purchase and will be returning to get more items!
