Ramen restaurant
Japanese restaurant
Noodle shop
Kinboshi Ramen is a popular casual Japanese noodle joint in Portland, known for its authentic handmade ramen. It was the first to introduce Hakata-style ramen to the city. The menu has evolved over the years, now offering vegan options and other dishes like curry and rice. The Tonkotsu Red ramen with its spicy broth is a must-try, especially during Portland's winters. The restaurant provides a light-filled space with communal seating for a cozy dining experience.
Kinboshi Ramen experience with my small family of four went well, I’d say the whole group left with a happy tummy 🍜 We ordered a Tonkotsu Shoyu and a Tonkotsu Shoyu Red(spicy) and an add on Curry Set for $4 The ramen was rich, well balanced and almost creamy. The spice level was perfect, any more I would have really been sweating 😅 portion size was generous. The chashu was cooked to perfection! The noodles had an unexpected but welcomed bite that tied the whole bowl together nicely, I’ll be back again on my next trip up from San Francisco Arigatou Gozaimasu🙇🏻‍♂️

Nice little restaurant for ramen. Noodles are very firm and cut short (not like traditional ramen). Broth is very well flavored but a bit oily. Meat (chicken & tonkatsu) has a good depth of flavor (not just salted), tender and slightly small portion for the size. Overall ok, not amazing but good for something different with an Asian swing.
Renee C — Google review
Everything that can be good about a restaurant- Kinboshi achieves it, IT WAS SO GOOD. For our Tonkotsu Shoyu: broth- delicious, soft boiled egg- perfectly cooked, toppings- varied and scrumptious, THE PORK!!!??? Phenomenal, fatty in the best way and just bursting with flavor. Please go here! Immediately!

I had such a fabulous experience dining here! From start to finish, everything was exceptional. My server Jayme truly made the night unforgettable — not only was her food and drink recommendations spot-on, but she is amazing and genuine. Her service added a personal touch to the evening, that made the night so memorable. Every dish was fresh and flavorful, and the atmosphere was perfect. I can’t wait to come back — 10/10 highly recommend! 🍣✨

Tonkatsu Shoyu Red hits every time and the chasu is so tender. My mouth is watering as I am writing this review. Do yourself a favor and treat yo self to some of the delicious ramen. Undefeated every single time. I wish I could drink this broth as pre-workout
Scott L — Google review
Ramen noodles are excellent! My favorite ramen place in Portland. Because it is really good and cheap, it is crowded most of the time and the food takes time.
Sok S — Google review
Wonderful ramen restaurant. The Tonkotsu broth was delicious. And the noodles were nice and springy. Nice comfortable space.
David G — Google review
I ordered the tonkotsu shoyu ramen and i was delightfully suprised! I'm a pretty harsh critic but their broth was so rich and just amazing. Most places lack on their broth but Kinboshi has it down. The noodles were perfect and the charsiu essentially melted in my mouth, I had no complaints!! The only thing was it tasted like tonkotsu shio(salt) rather than tonkotsu shoyu but I was totally fine with that. I'd say probably one of the best ramen i've had outside of japan!

Phở Oregon Restaurant is a no-frills Vietnamese eatery located in the heart of Portland, offering familiar dishes like pho and other Vietnamese classics. The restaurant's cavernous space exudes a big-city pho house vibe, attracting a steady stream of patrons seeking piping hot bowls of well-cooked noodles and tender brisket in a rustic-yet-elegant broth.
Food was, almost instant. Freshly made, and very good ingredients. The service was top of the line, very attentive but not bothering. Attention to detail is what sold me here. On top of that very polite to their clients and to babies! Cleaning very constantly. And it smells so good in here. Always room for improvement so if the owners see this personal message me and I’ll let you know my thoughts instead of on here. Overall VERY SATISFIED WITH EVERYTHING!
Luis H — Google review
Followed my brother's lead and ordered an off menu pho. The Pho arrived promptly and hot. It really hit the spot. The base is MONEY. Great flavor and not overly seasoned. It was clear wo the sheen you see when the fat hasn't been properly strained. Was there over the lunch hour, so it was fairly empty. The service was where this place fell flat. Once the food was dropped off, we were on our own for the remainder of our meal. The atmosphere was just average. Typical fact food Asian decorations, tables, and chairs. A view right into the kitchen and all the "behind the scenes" areas.
Kimberly T — Google review
I order number 33 on the menu to go and whe i was getting 4 spicy sauce and 1 soy an employee came up and told me I was taking too much sauce for one meal! Paying $21.50 for chowmein should let me get the sauces I want to make it taste the way I like it. Total insult in my opinion! I will never go back. Their sauce is more precious than a customer apparently. I also want to add that i have been eating there for 3 years with my grandparents with no hassle but now that they moved away I get it to go. And then get harassed for using the sauce that I have always used while dining in.

Best pho i ever had .. Very tasty and customer service really good I really recomend this place

We eat there once a month the food and service was good. Not today it was bad.order beef pho and it was not normal he brought me chicken and had to return it to the kitchen brought me beef and it had onion Cilantro..not what i order .the spring rolls we ordered were burnt nasty.we sent them back.we checked out the lady at the counter who took our money was not at all kind.i told her about the mess up and everthing was bad even COLD TEA all she could say you ate one spring roll she charged 5.00 for it no apology from the staff.omg I'm so done with eating there.

I loved this place, I’m from Houston and I love pho, this place was the closest to the airport. I hope I can go back someday!!!

Good restaurant.Good pho. Everything is delicious.
Sombat S — Google review
So many things wrong.... Food - I ordered 2 dishes , 1 Small bowl meatball pho , received almost 2lb noodles with 5 meatballs A bowl of 2 man handful of veggies on top of 2 thin slice of porkchop and 3 shrimp on a stick. The fish sauce container on the table is NOT fish sauce , it's like a hint of fish sauce watered down with added salt . Tea kettle - so I poured my first tea and drank what I call Luke warm with no taste . Service - when I walked in I was seated by a guy who doesn't smile , drags himself around the restaurant, And MAJORITY ON HIS PHONE !!!!!!! Atmosphere- one side is cold where I was seated and I had to ask to be seated somewhere else where there's no cold air right on the table for the food to be cold in 5 mins . Overall ppl ! Pass on this restaurant!!!!!!

Restaurant
Rose VL Deli is a vibrant Vietnamese eatery located in Foster-Powell, offering a variety of traditional dishes in a colorful setting. The restaurant is known for its unique and rare regional Vietnamese noodle soups, including the Saturday-only special cao lau noodles, featuring thick and chewy noodles with Chinese BBQ pork, herbs, peanuts, and fried shallots. This family-run establishment is the sequel to Ha VL and is owned by Vietnamese soup masters Christina Luu and William Vuong.
I am incredibly blown away. I grew up in the city with the most densely populated Vietnamese community in the US. And this spot is INCREDIBLE. I had Mi Quang and Cao Lau. Both items were the best version I’ve ever had of both. The staff was so smiley and friendly, I really enjoy being there. I could understand the staff and they seem to all be good friends working together. I really loved that feel. I’ll most definitely be back to visit again soon! I was so happy
Vi T — Google review
Rose VL is known for their excellent phō and warm atmosphere, and i can confirm this. The photo is nice but only tells part of the story. You really should try this place! This is my pick for best soup, not only just for Portland, but any restaurant I have been to, ever! Thank you!
Denney — Google review
Very tasty soups and an even simpler menu to follow. You normally have 2 options depending on the day you go, but it is well worth stopping in for. The broth is fantastic, and worth the price ($15 each). The baguette was actually very soft and fluffy as well, and worked great for dunking in the curry. I’m very glad I checked this one out, and would even consider going again to try more of the menu! (Wonton Noodle Soup 4/5) (Red Chicken Curry 5/5) (Salad roll 3/5)
Kendall M — Google review
Incredibly delicious soups at this small restaurant. We enjoyed the Phnom Penh Special with shrimp, quail egg in a wonderful pork broth. The Beef Pho is the best in Portland- floral, delicate, sweet. The salad rolls are huge and delicious. Friendly and prompt service. Highly recommended!
Stephen L — Google review
I can’t believe it took me this long to write this review, as this has been my ultimate go-to spot in Portland since I moved here in 2019. The owners and staff always make me feel at home. I miss auntie Ha and her kindness terribly. The soups are a treat, my favorites being Mì Quảng on Sat, Hủ Tíu Nam Vang on Tue and Bún Nước Lèo on Fri (the menu and days might change though, and really you can’t go wrong, all of them are great).
Trang H — Google review
Friendly, nice, good food, change menu everyday. Sunday and Wed close.

This is the best pho I’ve ate in Portland. Came here on a Tuesday, was able to order the beef pho!!! The soup is fantastic, flavor is right on point, and brings out the sweetness of 🥩! I would come here again every day to try the other soup options. Everything looks so good and worth the visit. The owner also told us, sometimes they will close early, since they sold out before 4pm! So call before you come and get the pho!!’
B H — Google review
So good!! I love that they have a rotating menu will have to come back every day of the week to try all the soups! I enjoyed the salad rolls as well. High recommend I can’t wait to check out their other restaurants.

Ramen restaurant
Kayo's Ramen Bar is a delightful culinary gem nestled in North Portland, where the passion for authentic ramen shines through every bowl. Headed by Japanese native Kayoko Kaye, this intimate eatery prides itself on crafting made-from-scratch dishes that are free from preservatives. After an extensive quest involving 46 recipes, Kayo perfected her noodles to achieve the ideal taste and texture.
My wife and I got Raman and coke. We both really liked what we ordered. I was glad they had a gluten-free option. The folks working were really nice and got our soup to us quickly. They also bussed our table even though they have those self-bus stations. We'll be back to this one!
Elijah S — Google review
I'll be honest this place was not for me. Being a vegetarian I was not a huge fan of their vegetarian options. However, At least they had one. Also, everyone else (that eats meat) loves the food. So I will base my rating on their impression as well. It seems like they have good food well made that's authentic. The vegetarian option was very spicy and that made it difficult for me so if you love spice in your vegetarian diet you might love it.
Abbie L — Google review
Nice ramen restaurant on East Portland. I really appreciate their ramen and the awesome cheesecake. The staff is really nice and cool. Easy to park your car for free in the street close to the restaurant. Price are not so high. Good restaurant, I clearly recommand.
Pierre L — Google review
Great experience, amazing brother! Damon the man behind the counter was an incredible host. Shared his knowledge on their menu. Glad I came here tonight. Yum.
Daron L — Google review
The ramen from here was a bit underwhelming. First of all, staff was kind to tell us at the Spicy Miso is really spicy and suggested we get it at medium level… still ended up being brutally spicy. I saw on the menu that Cashu was extra, but I thought that meant if you wanted to add even more Cashu. I was surprised when it came out with what looked like boiled pork. I took the meat out. The crispy green onions were really good, but overall, the quality and flavors were not that impressive.
Flavius R — Google review
Great place to come get ramen w a friend! We had the MaLa ramen, my friend got the rice noodles which were a great gluten free option for them. Warm and simple dinner on a weekday. :)
Emma K — Google review
Vera, I just have to say — this was the best crêpe I’ve ever had in my life. The texture was absolutely perfect — golden and delicate on the outside, soft and delicious on the inside. The drizzle, the powdered sugar, the raspberries… everything was beautifully balanced, like a little piece of art on a plate. You didn’t just make a crêpe — you created a moment. I could feel the love and passion behind it. Thank you for making my day so much sweeter. You’re truly amazing at what you do!
Vitalii S — Google review
This is one of my top 3 favorite Ramen spots in Portland. Everything is always fresh and the service is quick. I usually get the Mala Ramen spicy. I’m glad that when you ask for it spicy it truly is the level you’re looking for. I love spicy food though so if you think it’s going to be mild - it’s not. Extra spicy is too much for me but if you’re not feeling well and need to clear your sinuses then it’s perfect. Also the half and half gluten and non gluten noodles are the way to go. I used to live in the neighborhood and it’s a cute little area of town. Parking can be somewhat hard to find but it’s worth it! If you have a larger party everyone has to be there in order to get sat, (I usually go alone). I definitely recommend this place! It’s great for if you’re traveling to Portland on vacation and looking for a yummy place to chill and eat.

The Vietnamese restaurant Bún Bò Huế Restaurant is a popular spot for spicy soup. The first time we went, the restaurant was closed even though it was listed as an 8 PM closing time on google. However, the owner told us they ran out of broth and we came back the next day at noon and enjoyed the flavorful Bo bun hue. The chicken wings were also good but below average. Service was friendly and cordial.
This is the best bun bo hue in town and i have tried them all. How it's suppose to be made just like mom would do it. The rice dishes are excellent. Dont be scared of the rough exterior. Inside is super clean and food is some of the best Vietnamese food around. Nice family owned and always greeted with a smile. We love this place!

The BEST BÚN BÒ HUẾ in town 😩🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 I usually come here once a week and the flavor never disappointed me. The broth is rich with flavors with mắm (fermented shrimp paste and fish sauce )so come in mentally prepared for the ultimate aroma. The soup comes with a great selection of herds yes yes yes 🤩 It’s authentic as much as in Vietnam. I only come here for their signature Bun bò Huế so I don’t know much on their other dishes but I bet it still bomb. This is a family owned business. They are very nice and genuine people please be kind to them during rush hours. Thankyou cô và chú.

The food here is amazing! Such strong, authentic flavors and fresh ingredients. It really reminded me of my mom's cooking. The staff are incredibly friendly, pricing is fair, and portion sizes were perfect. As you can see, we finished every bite! Can't wait to come back again.
Makayla D — Google review
Ate here with a group. I got the rice and spicy chicken with lemongrass, so good. Very spicy and flavorful. And the spring rolls were fantastic. Everyone else got the soup, and the owner (?) was very helpful and friendly, showing us how to add stuff to the soup and how to eat it.
Reuben S — Google review
By far the best place in Portland to get Bun Bo Hue. The portions are generous and the workers are very kind and warm. Don’t go anywhere else for bun Bo hue if you’re in the area. Go here!
Kobe P — Google review
This place may look unassuming, but their Bun Bo Hue is the most authentic and delicious I’ve ever had! We’ve brought many friends here and everyone loves it. Even our family visiting from Taiwan was amazed! The staff are very friendly and always interact warmly with us and our son.
HC J — Google review
This location seems a little sketchy by the picture. But it only looks that way because of its outward look. But what is that old saying? Do not judge a book by its cover. It definitely applies to this Vietnamese restaurant in Portland. It doesn't look that great on the outside. But the family that runs the place is definitely very warm and friendly. They don't have an awesome interior. It's pretty bland and they didn't take a lot of time thinking about decor and presence or feel of the restaurant. But the food more than makes up for it. The staff is basically family here. It's a family run business. And they are super friendly, respectful and kind. Their English not so great. But understandable. Their kindness more than makes up for their lack of English. In terms of pricing - it is decent and definitely not expensive. The location is a little farther out. Still within Portland of course, but it's more south Portland. Definitely not in downtown area. Definitely recommended to come and try!
Sam L — Google review
Don’t let the outside fool you. This is by far one of the best little surprises in the area. The food was fresh & very flavorful. We’ve eaten in quite a few Vietnamese restaurants over the years and this is our favorite place so far. Service was pleasant & everyone seemed really nice. We didn’t even have to request chopsticks. 😊 Thank you for an enjoyable meal that was slightly messy. My hoodie will never be the same. Next time I’ll bring a bib. 😂

Japanese restaurant
Obon Shokudo is a casual, modern eatery that specializes in serving vegan Japanese cuisine.
Went to grab yuzu sprouts, left with yuzu sprouts and delicious food to go. Inside the dining area is clean, modern and comfortable. I nibbled on a little bit of my food there and Alice who served me and saw to me getting my seedlings and everything out to go is wonderful. Very patient, thoughtful and helpful. The food. People, my pana cotta is 4 layers- jelly, pinks for cherry blossoms, a cream layer, and green for matcha. It's creamy, layered and beautiful. It is hard to find quality daifuku and onigiri anywhere and I had to drive 2 hours out to get here. Worth it. Most places give you plain rice outside and a flavorful core inside. This is flavorful through with texture and different flavors throughout and a core for dimension. Nigiri is also quite a different treat and the nasturtium leaf is unique and we're to it, instead of just the standard flowers. Great taste with the cherry blossoms not being overwhelming. Good bite size. Took this to the coast as the travel food it is (ok maybe not so much the pana cotta) and everything was worth the wait. Folks we live in a time where going out is expensive and I love my food as a unique and jam packed experience with full blown comfort/magestic to my senses, flavor, and structurally gorgeous if I'm going to be paying for anything now. Truly enjoyed the experience, hope you do too.

a solid 5 stars. went here two times in one day on my trip to portland. the first time, had the combo bento and then came back for dinner that night for noodles. vibes were dramatically different at lunch and dinner (lunch was more calm, dinner was more lively) and i loved both! so glad i made it here twice on that trip. i will be returning the next time im in portland!
Michelle R — Google review
Ramen was too good with hearty broth, onigiri was bit bland for our pallets, guess it comes that way. The main highlight was their dessert which was ginger based, just exceptional. Do not miss it when you are here.
Sudhindra G — Google review
An absolutely extraordinary meal! Every single flavor was perfect. Customers order their own lunch using a QR code, but the staff is available to answer questions. Service with his friend day and efficient. I really love the creativity and inventive use of ingredients such a stinging nettles. Can’t wait to return and see what you do next!

Obon Shokudo offers delicious and authentic Okonomiyaki and Curry Udon among many other Entrees flavors. There are also many beverage options, including several tea, sake tastes. We visited for lunch and had a great experience. The staff was very courteous and knowledgeable, we were guided through the menu and were assisted to make the best choices. The restaurant is cozy and clean. Restroom was also very clean. There are several parking locations near by. We decided not to drive. From downtown Portland, take the B loop street car to SE Grand Ave. To return to downtown Portland, take the A loop street car from MLK Avenue, just one block west from the restaurant. Thank you !

Came here around lunch time because I was craving onigiri. I sat on the counter ordered from my mobile and watched them make my Onigiris from my seat. They had so many great choices on the menu, and can't wait to come again and again and try different things.

Ordered all the GF options to try. The broth in the udon was flavorful (the noodles were plain inside) & the battered karaage (fried nuggets) were great with the sauce. You order through your phone at the table. Parking in the back is $16 for 1 hour. Meh food to get you to the next meal 🫤

Nestled in a cozy corner, XinhXinh Vietnamese Bistro is a delightful haven for anyone craving authentic Vietnamese cuisine. This charming eatery boasts an inviting atmosphere with its intimate dining space and outdoor picnic benches, perfect for enjoying their diverse menu. From classic vermicelli bowls and fresh salad rolls to the comforting warmth of pho and the iconic banh mi sandwiches, every dish is crafted to perfection. A standout option is their BBQ Tork, which offers a unique twist on traditional pork dishes.
We stumbled upon this place on a cold rainy day and I’m so happy we did. This adorable spot is located in a central area right next to a massive food cart pod. We chose this place simply because it was dry and indoors. But after stepping inside, I realized we stumbled upon a hidden gem. We ordered the Phõ, a bahn mi, and pot stickers. Within the first couple bites, we were hooked. The phõ broth was great, the bahn mi was flavorful and had a great texture. Before we left, we ended up ordering to pork buns Togo. We couldn’t even make it two blocks without breaking them out. So flavorful! Side note. They have GREAT vegetarian and vegan options! We will definitely be coming back

The food is delicious and very fresh. Huge portions and it keeps well, I ate my leftovers two days later and it was almost as good as the original day it was cooked. Lots of veggie options. The odd part was the service. We arrived at 8:20pm (they close at 9) and were told it was only to go then when we decided to leave and eat in somewhere else. He then told us we could stay to eat so we ordered, got water and sat down but he wrapped up the food all to go so we were able to eat out together as we had planned. Very awkward miscommunication but the delicious food made up for it.

This food is AMAZING!! I love the vegan BBQ tork and the vegan Thai iced tea. These are things that are hard to get vegan otherwise, and XinhXinh does an incredible job. Ive been here several times, and this last time I took my family, and my mom (who is generally picky eating out) was a HUGE fan. I hope to be back many many more times:)

Best $12 item I’ve put in my mouth in a long time. Serious dose of veggies with a light and flavorful sauce served promptly with beautiful execution. No-nonsense counter service, clean tables, what else do you need in a lunch spot?

A casual, counter-order restaurant that serves up some delicious and creative banh mis. I tried the BBQ Tork Banh Mi (made from tofu and mushrooms) and the Pulled Pork Banh Mi. I enjoyed the texture of the Tork a lot, and I absolutely loved the strong, marinated flavors of the Pulled Pork. The bread was soft and pillowy, and smelled nice and fresh. The ratio of mayo and sauces used was perfect, and it was stuffed to the brim with crunchy pickled carrots, daikon, and cilantro. A good banh mi is all about the textures, and the mix of different textures in these was very pleasant. For appetizers, I tried the Shrimp Salad rolls, which tasted good and standard (nothing too special there), as well as the Crispy Salad with Pork. I liked the sauce flavors and mix of crunchy vs tender textures in the salad; the pork was very flavorful. I also tried some of the Beef Pho— the broth was excellent: very flavorful and aromatic though a little too salty. Overall, prices are solid and reasonable too, and the service was very quick. It was pretty empty for a Tuesday dinner, and it was easy to find a table for dine-in. — Price (relative to peers): 4.6/5 Food: 4.6/5 Ambience: 4.4/5 Service: 5/5 Overall Value: 4.6/5

SURPRISE!!! We visit from LA and my bf is southeast Asian. He approves. Very generous portions as well. I kept picking out pork from my bowl to my bf’s and it just would not run out. Give five star to Portland as well if this is the how good ethnic foods the city has to offer.

Restaurant
Located on Belmont Street in southeast Portland, Rukdiew Cafe is a popular spot for Thai cuisine enthusiasts. The cafe has received numerous positive reviews and is known for its delicious starters such as Crab Rangoon, Fresh Rolls Tofu, and Coconut Prawns. Visitors have praised the generous portions and authentic flavors of dishes like Khao Soy noodles and fried trout.
Yummy food & cocktails. So eclectically decorated. Staff was super friendly and helpful. The trout fried rice and soft shell crab pad thai were top tier. They bring a nice assortment of sauces and topping to the table too. Cocktails were great and not too sweet. Would definitely come back here!

Cute and whimsical interior but watch your head, some of the decorations hang a bit low! Food was well prepared, tasty and priced right. The cheese foam Thai tea was very nice. Good service and clean inside.

Super fun restaurant with a great atmosphere, amazing food, inviting decor, and free cotton candy machine. I highly recommend the Khao Soi, it's unlike any curry I have tasted. The crunchy noodles complimented it as well and added a nice texture. They don't skip on the meat proportions either. I would definitely go back!

Don’t let the size of this place fool you—Rukdiew Cafe may be small and unassuming, but it’s a total hidden gem and absolutely worth the hype! It has that classic hole-in-the-wall charm, but it’s highly recommended to make reservations—and after visiting, I totally get why. The food is incredibly authentic Thai cuisine, but with fun, unexpected twists that make the dishes stand out. One of the highlights for us was the crab wontons—packed with flavor and a surprise kick of curry! Every dish we tried had that perfect balance of bold spices, freshness, and creativity. The decor is delightfully quirky and original, with playful items hanging from the ceiling that made the whole experience feel extra special. And just when we thought it couldn’t get more fun, we spotted a cotton candy machine by the exit—yes, you can grab a puff of cotton candy on your way out! Service was top-notch—fast, friendly, and genuinely warm. We felt welcomed from the moment we walked in. Bonus points for the easy street parking, which made getting there a breeze. If you’re in Portland and looking for something authentic, flavorful, and just plain fun, Rukdiew Cafe is a must-visit. We had a blast and can’t wait to come back!

Some of the best, freshest thai food i have had in Portland. The coconut prawns were cooked to perfection, so juicy and fresh. The pad kra pao was so flavorful! Served with a proper thai-fried egg, which i forgot to order and was served in minutes! Next time I will be sure to order it spicy! Can't wait to go back

Rudikew was underwhelming and I’m confused by their current high rating of 4.5/5. No one greeted us when we walked in and we stood around for a bit until someone told us to take a seat wherever. The menu was sticky and hadn’t been wiped down. The Thai iced coffee was fine, but the steamed tofu pad Thai was lackluster and lifeless. I wouldn’t recommend Rudikew. There are much better Thai restaurants in Portland!

Love this place. The food is incredible. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The cocktails are awesome! We try to go a couple times a month. Try the Khao Soi and the Mango Paradise, and the Sticky Rice with Mango for dessert.

While visiting Portland I had the opportunity to visit Rukdiew Cafe for dinner. Best Thai food I’ve ever had and I’ve sampled many places! First the decor! Soft hues of pink and purple and mossy green walls decorate the open and airy space. Whimsical orbs hang down from the ceiling! It seemed like a playful, retro vibe and I was here for it! The food was outstanding. Beginning with the succulent, crispy pork belly to the sweet and spicy cashew nut chicken stir fry to the pad thai with steak, everything was perfectly prepared.. seasoned perfectly and using the freshest of ingredients!! Oh and did I mention the pineapple fried rice with tofu?! The best. All the dishes are colorful, vibrant and served on floral plates adding to the thoughtful presentations! Service was quick and friendly. Always attentive and present when something was needed. Even on a busy Saturday night we didn’t feel rushed and we all had an amazing meal! I will definitely return to the Rukdiew Cafe whenever my travels bring me back to Portland!

Thơm® Portland is a new addition to the city's diverse culinary scene, offering a unique take on traditional Vietnamese pho. The restaurant has quickly gained recognition for its house broth, made from slow-cooked marrow bones and tenderloin, creating a rich and flavorful base. The cozy space exudes mid-century modern vibes with a Vietnamese mini-mart twist, adding to the overall dining experience.
Pretty good. Nothing out of the ordinary but good enough to come back every now and then. Plus they have vegan version of pho which I didn’t see somewhere else. Just wish it could be less sweet!

It is a pretty good place for some good homemade style pho served by a friendly elder gentleman. The place is pretty small with a handful of tables. The items are simple as there are only 4 items to choose from. I opted for the beef pho and was pleased at the quality of it. The place also sells some small snacks that aren't fond at your local stores.

Seafood restaurant
Bar
Jake's Famous Crawfish is a renowned seafood spot in downtown Portland, serving fresh fish flown in daily and offering a bustling happy hour. Established in 1892, this iconic restaurant provides a casual yet elegant dining experience with antique chandeliers and a menu featuring oysters, mussels, stuffed salmon, and Dungeness crab cakes. The establishment also offers warm berry cobbler for dessert.
Jake’s Famous Crawfish delivered an exceptional dining experience from start to finish. The service was top-notch—our waiter was knowledgeable, attentive, and gave excellent recommendations. We started with the popcorn crawfish appetizer, which was perfectly crispy and packed with flavor. Unfortunately, we had to skip the clam chowder since it contains bacon, but there were still plenty of great options to choose from. For the main course, I went with the shrimp and cheese-crusted halibut served over creamy mashed potatoes with a rich, flavorful sauce. It was a standout dish and came highly recommended by our waiter—he was absolutely right, it was outstanding. We ended the meal with the apple pie and ice cream, and it truly blew us away. Warm, perfectly spiced, and paired with just the right amount of ice cream—it was the perfect finish. If you’re in town, you definitely need to give them a try.

If you love seafood, you’ll really enjoy this place. It’s clearly a popular spot in the area, so making a reservation is the best way to ensure you get a table. I ordered the crawfish penne, and it was a little spicy for me, but still very good. Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable, offering great recommendations. We tried escargot for the first time, and… probably for the last time (just not our thing!). Their dessert menu is also impressive. Next time we’re in Portland, this will definitely be on our list to revisit.

We made a reservation at Jake’s Famous Crawfish and had a wonderful experience. The atmosphere had a bit of an Italian feel, warm and inviting, with options for both indoor and outdoor dining. I ordered the Famous Étouffée and it was absolutely delicious, full of flavor and comforting. Drinks were excellent, and with street parking nearby, the whole evening felt easy and enjoyable.”

Such a cool place! It has a vintage atmosphere very friendly stuff. The service was great. Our food was delicious! We got the hot appetizer tower, and my husband got Jake’s Famous Étouffée and I ordered the crab & shrimp stuff halibut. Definitely recommend trying.

Pros: Great ambiance & service. The escargot & mashed potatoes were delicious. Cons: Salmon was overcooked. Etouffee was flavorless and had too much pepper. Calamari was rubbery. Crab tortellini was underwhelming. Specialty cocktails are wildly overpriced for the unimaginative drink variations that they are. I haven’t been back to Jake’s in 10 years and I’ll probably wait another 10 to go back.

A Portland classic in downtown. Old school rustic atmosphere, with a rocking old wooden bar. Solid seafood-heavy menu, well-mixed drinks and a good happy hour. Our calamari app came out just right, not too spongy, not overfried and with good sauces to pair with. Dungeness crab cakes also very tasty. Our server was on point, friendly but not pushy; there’s good energy at this place.

Very good seafood restaurant. Charming decor, kinda old fashioned restaurant vibe. Fairly large place, booths and tables. Some outside seating. Food was very good. We had the crab shrimp stuffed halibut, excellent! I had the crayfish shrimp chicken kinda stew with rice. Spicy but very good. Service was professional. Place reminded me of an old restaurant on the east coast. Definitely a place to try!

Restaurant
Higgins is a long-standing establishment known for its local and sustainable Northwest cuisine, offering a lively bar with an extensive selection of beers and Oregon wines. The restaurant features a wood-gleaming bar area tucked behind the farm-to-table dining room, creating an intimate and inviting atmosphere. Dishes include flavorful risottos topped with foraged chanterelles, house-smoked pastrami sandwiches, and a renowned charcuterie plate showcasing house-cured meats and garden pickles.
I had a phenomenal solo dinner at Higgins and walked away deeply impressed by the care and craft in every dish. I started with a duck croquette—crispy, delicate, herbaceous, and perfectly seasoned. It might be the single best bite I’ve ever had. For my main, I had the braised local beef belly and Baja prawns over potato purée, with broccoli and turnip greens—hearty, balanced, and full of rich Pacific Northwest character. I paired it with two great Oregon beers (a stout and an IPA from Bend Brewing). Service was excellent—my server Jill was warm, intuitive, and knew the menu inside and out. You could feel the legacy of the place in the pacing, the presentation, and the restraint. It’s not flashy. It’s just honest, rooted, and deeply good. This is the kind of place that reminds you how food can nourish more than just your body. A Portland institution for a reason.

Outstanding Farm-to-Table Experience at Higgins We had an excellent dinner at Higgins in Portland. The setting is simple yet elegant, and the service was top-notch. Our server, Seth, was fantastic—professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. We ordered the specials: Chinook salmon with polenta and a brown butter sherry vinaigrette (incredible!) and a razor clam dish that was just as memorable. The fish was cooked perfectly, and the vinaigrette was absolutely delicious. Everything was clean, fresh, and thoughtfully prepared. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a refined yet welcoming farm-to-table experience in Portland.

This place is def a fancy stop for someone like me - good for a big celebratory dinner, but too expensive for everyday dining. The host was a delight and knew the extensive and complicated specials well. The food was stunningly beautiful on the plate and was a well balanced taste experience. I enjoyed being able to see into the kitchen a bit, and the decor of the place is inviting and rich without being pretentious (no gold leafed stuff, thankfully, because that would be tacky, ahem).

I’ve been wanting to visit Higgins for forever! An absolute Portland classic. Such a perfect way to celebrate our 8th anniversary. Everything was excellent but the showstoppers were the charcuterie terrines and the salmon special. Service was excellent and the vibe was cozy. Although it will probably be a while before we treat ourselves to this full spread again, I’m excited to try their bar menu and lunch menu!

Another scrumptious delicious lunch. Always is! My wife and I eat here often. We know what is on the menu we like. We also know we'll be enticed by menu specials. Chef and kitchen team take pride making and presenting the orders. Looks beautiful on the plate and tastes great. For instance we started with the seasonal farmers market sourced summer vegetables, some raw and some blanched, with feta and edible mint flowers on the top. Pretty plated! Pretty delish! Black eye pea soup was a seasonal delight too! Then, we love the grass fed, Carman Ranch, burger with side of fermented veggies. This is our #1 favorite place to eat! And we have a load of #2's! Higgins always exceeds my expectations! And exceeds my expect-taste-ins! Seasonal! Local! Organic! House made sauces, fermented veggies and cured meats! Smiling menu-talking servers! Creative Chef and "bitchin" kitchen team! Bar or dining room is a place to meet-up with fellow foodies for a convivial and tasty experience!
Roger A — Google review
After hearing about the possibility of Higgins closing down, my spouse decided to take me there for dinner to experience it. First off, our waitress service and refreshing our water service was great. When it came to busing our table, we had to protect our plates from being taken away too soon. We decided to spring for one of the specials; the 58 day aged ribeye steak with shishito peppers for $110. When the steak arrived it was disappointing for the price. They could have included the mushrooms with the plate, which was an additional cost. The flavor and cook on the steak was good, but about a quarter of the slices were inedible unrendered fat and cartilage. I know you come here for the ambience, instead of cooking at home. I have cooked my own tomahawk steaks on the BBQ grill, essentially more meat for a third of the cost. We ordered a starter, the summer vegetables with sheep's milk feta. It was nice and fresh at $23, a little pricy for a veggie dish. Overall, for the two dishes and three cocktails, we spent $220 including 20% tip. Experiencing this food almost makes us want to drive to the Buckhorn Steakhouse in Winters, CA where you can get at a 30 to 60 day aged 48oz Tomahawk angus ribeye for two along with all the sides for $130. Thanks Higgins for staying open...

RingSide Steakhouse is a classic, upscale establishment that has been a staple in Portland for nearly 75 years. The restaurant boasts an impressive 10,000-bottle wine cellar and tuxedoed servers, adding to its old-school charm. Located in a unique brick building in Portland's Nob Hill neighborhood, RingSide offers a diverse menu featuring locally sourced vegetables and seafood alongside their renowned onion rings.
Amazing service, very vintage steakhouse feel. Our waiter Nicholas was knowledgeable, courteous and attentive. The onion rings do not disappoint. Drinks were great- the Ann-Margaret was refreshing but not too sweet. Make reservations, it’s worth it
Kim B — Google review
From the beginning: Valet parking— amazing. You pull up, you’re greeted politely, valet opens your passenger door. It’s a nice touch to start your dinner. The wait— we didn’t wait because we had a reservation. We also got there about 10 minutes early and before 6pm. I recommend doing the same if you can. Finally… what you’re really waiting for… The Food—Superb. French fried onion rings, they look crunchy, and taste crunchy. Even after 10 minutes of conversation. That French dressing sauce is *chef’s kiss* and I don’t like Bleu Cheese. That’s saying something. Caesar salad, worth every dollar to upgrade from the mixed greens salad. I wish I didn’t eat anything today because I wanted that whole salad. The dressing is fresh made, and the croutons are all small pieces so you can mix to your hearts content and not spend time breaking down croutons. The Prime Rib… what a showstopper. My husband and I have prime rib for special occasions and this gave our usual spot in Austin a run for their money. They only serve it on Mondays so if you want the option, plan accordingly. Dessert was a simple crème brûlée and it tasted anything but. So decadent, the custard was vanilla bean and the sugar crackle layer was perfection. This was one of the best dinners I’ve ever had. The service was unrivaled. The vibe was everything. Enjoy your meal, Cheers!

Upscale steakhouse with quality meat and seafood, inventive sides, and tempting cocktails. You can't find a better steak at this price point. Menu options include USDA choice, prime, and dry-aged prime beef, as well as wagyu, fried chicken, lobster, and other entrees. I particularly recommend Ringside if you haven't tried dry-aged beef before, as theirs is consistently superb.

We went to Ringside for my husband’s birthday last night and it was spectacular. The A5 wagyu striploin was the best steak I’ve ever had!! Will be coming back to visit from Seattle specifically for this dish. The onion rings are lightly battered and onions are cooked perfectly. We also had the bone marrow which was fantastic and the desserts (creme brûlée & pumpkin spice cheesecake) were beautiful and delicious. Get the Graham’s 20 year Tawny Port to pair with them! The staff were so attentive and very knowledgeable. 5 star experience all around!

Going to Ringside Steakhouse was a full experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly and led to our table, which was right next to a fireplace! We started with the Onion Rings, and like others have said, they were to die for. They were crunchy, flavorful, and the French dressing was the perfect sauce. Now - for the main, I had the Bone In Ribeye and my fiancée had the Kagoshima A5 Wagyu. My Ribeye was juicy, flavorful, and tender. However, her steak was among the bests steaks I’ve ever had in my life, I found myself going back to her plate for more! Also - shoutout to Tyler, his service made the experience even more memorable as he was always attentive, had great recommendations, and was professional through and through.

I have been dreaming about this restaurant since we went here for my birthday. We had the French onion soup, oysters, steaks, sides, and desserts. I highly recommend all the food here. The blue cheese stuffed olives in my martini were even incredible.

Starting with the valet, cordial, polite and quick. As we made our way into the restaurant, the host and hostess, attentive to our arrival. Smiles with professionalism. We were a bit early for our reservation. They invited us to wait in the bar and enjoy a drink. I had a Japanese locker and my wife had an espresso martini. She said it was the best espresso martini she's ever had. After we were seated at our table, Alexander and supporting staff we're very attentive, friendly, polite and professional. We were in the barrel room. The displays of wine with the brick was very nice. Along with the dim lighting, it made for a very romantic atmosphere. BUT.....The steak! Wow. The bread, the onion rings, the sauces, the garlic mashed potatoes. If you come here, ask for Alexander to be your server. The bill was pretty hefty but dear God, worth every penny! Considering that a Big Mac is $20 these days I'd say it's a heck of a deal! 🤣 Thank you to the Ringside owner ane staff. I can tell you read the book "Unreasonable hospitality" 😁

A quintessential Portland restaurant. It is very Portland like atmosphere. The food is good, just hope they have a slightly larger menu. But that maybe the part it makes a Portland restaurant. We didn't have reservations, but they seated us quickly. But, it was down hill from there. Placed our order and waited and waited and waited. 40 minutes later we were served. Then we made the error of ordering their famous desserts and waited and waited and waited. They were not busy, but somehow everything took a very long. The food quality is only average. The desserts look the part, but are really hit or miss. Finally, this place does have a kids menu, but it really isn't kid friendly. Everyone will give you're group dirty looks if you bring in kids under 12.

Visiting from Texas, I didn't expect to be blown away by the filet mignon, easily one of the best I've had. Just the right amount of char and a sweet sauce to balance the bitterness. The broccoli and potatoes wanted a little salt but that may just be my palette. Really enjoyed the cocktails as well, they weren't overpowering and really delivered on the described flavor. Brittany's service was attentive and much appreciated, the entire staff was very pleasant as well. Edit as of summer 2025: They've improved on perfection, the Collete steak absolutely impresses with a chimichurri sauce and buttery savor to support the potatoes and asparagus. 10/10 They update their menu fairly often, the ribeye is still very good although sides are now a la carte, the included sweet salad was quite good

Luc Lac Vietnamese Kitchen is a bustling and trendy counter-serve restaurant located in Downtown Portland. The stylish setting offers a vibrant menu of creative takes on traditional Vietnamese dishes, including pho, banh mi, rice plates, and tasty cocktails like the Asian Vacation. The lively ambiance attracts a hip crowd for an extraordinary dining experience. Known for their mouthwatering pho dishes and Vietnamese coffees, this outstanding restaurant offers delicious food at low prices.
Salads are not my go-to meal when I eat out. But this restaurant has changed that. Their salads are PHENOMENAL!!! The wait was absolutely worth it. We were served within 10 minutes of placing our order. The staff were attentive and courteous. The eye-catching decorations were just a cherry on top! The only thing that could have made our experience even better was if they had dessert. Truthfully, it would have to be very small one because we were stuffed at the end. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Driving through Portland heading over to the coast we decided to have lunch. Luc Lac came up in the search so we gave it a try. We were not disappointed. The dishes were flavorful, presentation was clean, dining room decor was festive and well done. The only negative is the servings were huge, and being on a road trip so we were faced with the need to leave food behind. I would not hesitate to recommend.

I’ve been here many times and this is absolutely one of my favorite spots when I crave a spicy coconut curry dish. The atmosphere is cozy, modern and has a PNW/Asian vibe, which perfectly compliments Portland’s foodie scene. All the dishes and cocktails here are beautifully crafted, vibrant and flavorful. Two covered/heated outdoor seating areas and full bar. Take out is very popular as well.
Matt N — Google review
Not a fan of ordering as soon as you walk in. It’s so awkward to try to understand the menu with the person staring at you and others waiting. But - with that aside. Wow! This place is awesome. Super funky and fun decor. You get your food in seconds. It was quite tasty and an interesting music play list. My husband took his coworker there the next day
Ninette — Google review
Well, had high expectations going in. Were you able to walk right in and order immediately and get a table during lunch hour which was nice. If you've never been there I need to look at the menu you're out of luck because the line quickly builds up behind you with regulars and if you don't know what you want or have questions about the menu you're lucky if anybody is at the front counter because it's a self-serve deal. The atmosphere is wonderful with a lot of stimulation and decoration and music. Really clean on the surface and food came out quickly and most folks we interacted with we're friendly. The only issue I have is that I felt rushed to order and the drain flies or what most people call gnats we're everywhere. They were pretty relentless flying around your face crawling on food and do not get intimidated when you try to switch them away. Kind of creates an unappetizing feel. Did not have any drinks but the bar looks great. I will come back in the fall or winter when maybe things have changed with the insect problem.
Tony G — Google review
Place is nice and the food looked nice but the taste... needing more salt or fish sauce. We tried three different dishes here, the coconut curry with chicken, lemongrass stir fry with chicken and the luc lat vermicelli bowl. None of these dishes were good for any of us who came. Disappointed but at least the service and ambiance was nice.
Kasey L — Google review
Loved Luc Lac! So many gluten-free options, which made it super easy to dine safely. The pho was absolutely delicious and full of flavor. Great atmosphere, definitely a Portland spot I’d come back to!
Bren B — Google review
The decoration is very pretty and modern style same with their food. I would say that here, they serve Vietnamese food in American way, it doesn’t mean that it wasn’t good. Overall is not bad, it’s just not original. If you want to sit inside, you will need to have a table before you can order at the cashier. We were waiting about 20 mins. Outside seatings are for Togo only.

Elephants Delicatessen is a vibrant market offering gourmet deli fare, prepared foods, and wine. It's known for its supreme comfort food and inventive offerings, making it a go-to spot for tasty take-out. The menu features gooey grilled cheese, flavor-filled garlic fries, light chocolate mousse, pizzas, soups, sandwiches, and salads.
Our first visit to Portland wouldn't have been complete without a stop at one of the iconic Elephants Delicatessens. If this is your first visit, take your time to study the menus at each food station. Don't forget to grab a beverage. We had a ham & cheese sandwich and fish tacos. Both were very good, except that the bread on the sandwich fell apart in pieces as my husband was eating it--not a good sign of really fresh bread.

Love Elephants Delicatessen!! Delicious hot food, with a wonderful selection of deli items! They have an expansive selection of drinks and locals wines as well. Awesome food spot in Portland!

We stopped here for lox and bagel sandwiches before heading into Washington Park for the day. The food was great and service was fast. Loved looking around at all the trinkets and gift shop-type items while we waited.
Lindsay H — Google review
This is my go-to in the neighborhood when I just cannot figure out what the heck I want to eat. I always end up finding something here that hits the spot I'm continually impressed by how they're able to offer such a wide variety of food without sacrificing quality. Great place to bring a family with diverse tastes. Prices are pretty up there though; if you're not careful you can accidentally spend way too much, fast. I don't think their prices are unreasonable given that they're a small(ish) business competing in this crazy economy, and the food's really good! But still, something to know if you're on a tighter budget
Samuel C — Google review
Second time going to Elephants Delicatessen while visiting Portland. Lots of options for good food and the ambiance is great. Friendly people live in Portland and will chat with you which is very cool.
Blasst D — Google review
Definitely worth a visit just for the atmosphere. Lots of food options and drinks. It's not a typical restaurant where you are seated by a server. You just walk in, look around and order food at the counter. They give you a ticket and you go to a check out counter (different from where you order the food) and pay. Then you just wait and grab your food when your name is called. This would be a good place for a weekend brunch.
J L — Google review
This place is like a mini mall, you have coffee, sandwich shop, dessert, cold deli, trinkets and food you can buy or even gifts. There’s tons of options for food depending on your taste and have quite a bit of seating. You grab and order what you want then at the end you pay for everything at the register, wonderful place!

Italian restaurant
Serratto Restaurant and Bar offers a spacious and elegant dining experience, serving up handcrafted Italian-leaning Mediterranean cuisine. The chef's Sicilian roots influence the authentic dishes inspired by Italian, French, and Mediterranean flavors. The restaurant boasts a large bar and an extensive wine list featuring traditional and emerging wine regions. Located in a lively neighborhood, Serratto's menu changes seasonally to offer fresh and evolving dishes.
A wonder Italian restaurant with great service. The menu is relatively small and they have 4 main pasta dishes. I highly recommend Pardatori, excellently seasoned with a perfect blend of richness and salt. Their French onion soup is also very delicious. We will definitely be going back
Brett G — Google review
Walked in and this place was packed and super busy during dinner time. We were going in sit in the bar but they didn't have any tables open that could seat a party of 3. The hostess said there was a couch upstairs that we could sit at that had a table but that the seats were low. We ended up sitting there because we didn't want to wait 40+ mins for a table. Service was okay. Our waiter was nice. The food was amazing. We loved everything we ordered. Lots of flavor and perfectly cooked. A bit spendy for such small portions.
Malika O — Google review
We discovered Serratto about 15 years ago, but hadn't been here in a couple of years; we really need to come here more often. One of the hidden gems in NW Portland, and I think it's one of the top 5 Italian restaurants in the city. Fantastic food & service and a well curated wine list of both Italian and NW wines. Also one of the best bartenders in town!
John D — Google review
Sat down during happy hour and stayed until our reservation time. Food and service… I would say excellent!! Lamb and pasta dishes are 100% worth coming back for! Sorbet and crème brûlée are definitely a hit!!
Desi W — Google review
What an absolutely amazing spot... More due to the staff, food and cocktails rather than the view, interior design, or parking. Yes, I said it has bad views (it's either just not that interesting OR entirely cut off in their event room), interior design (coldly minimalist/vaguely industrial), and parking (drive around forever trying to find available free street parking spot OR overpaying for a semi-secured lot space/over-priced city parking). Why would you do that? Because Serratto is absolutely phenomenal. The staff is professional, but personable. Willing and able to offer tailored (or entirely IMHO prefaced) recommendations on the menus. Impeccably crafted cocktails and a curated wine menu ensure satisfying a boozy craving. The food is incredibly well-designed when it comes to the structure of the dishes, but is also impeccably executed. Overall? It can be hard to hear or hold a conversation, especially in the event room. The food is amazing, and entirely worth the visit if you're a fan of Italian cuisine. The cocktails are well designed, well executed, and on par with what you would expect from sousól (but less expensive and without a "challenging" cocktail on the menu). The service staff is well-informed, personable, but ultimately incredibly professional. This restaurant is absolutely worth the visit. It makes a great date night if you already know each other, or a place for a formal event. I would absolutely go again, even if I can't hear my party talking when it is busy.
James S — Google review
Updating my review of Serratto after trying out the restaurant again. The first time I tried out Sertatto, I think we just got unlucky in choosing dishes that weren't to our taste. We left a little disappointed and did not visit again for at least a year. We came back to try out Serratto and this time around, the dishes we got where so, so much better to our taste. We got the ravioli and the rigatoni and both of these dishes were absolutely beautiful and delicious. The pasta and sauce alongside the ingredients were perfectly cooked. I was so impressed with these dishes, it showcased the amazing food Serratto has. When you get sad that you can't cook your dish for every meal, that's how you know it's worth every bite. Paired with some wine and a delicious dessert, Serratto is a restaurant definitely worth your visit. Italian food doesn't get much better than here in Portland, I highly recommend!

It's known for its delicious French-style pastries and delightful breakfast options. The ambiance at Petite Provence is often likened to stepping into a corner of Paris, making it a favorite brunch spot for many. Visitors praise the friendly and attentive service as well as the relaxed atmosphere.
This place is super adorable. I love how aesthetic it is on the inside. Cozy seats as well. I got the Salmon Hash, very tasty and lots of salmon in it!! I thought the dill dressing was just a bit overpowering but I think that’s a personal preference. My partner got the quinoa cakes, both dishes came w a choice of butter croissant or toast. We did one of each. Both came w a fresh strawberry jam that was very tarte!! Which I loved, I don’t like a very sweet jam and this was perfect!! I ate all my toast (which I never do). All of this was pretty reasonably priced as well, but maybe I just think that’s bc I’ve been use to SoCal pricing for a while hahaha. The only quarrel I had was w our servers lack of attentiveness. Not so much w us, but as the restaurant got a table about every 10 or so minutes it was taking longer and longer to get waters to the table to the point that the table next to us complained. It was only about 5 nicely timed out tables so that was strange. Anywho, very nice, would come back and try something new!

This is a beautiful French restaurant with wonderful food, delicious pastries, and a great ambiance. I loved the menu and my server was very friendly, helpful, and pleasant. Some of the staff was slightly less friendly than I've become adjusting to in Oregon. This is a great place and definitely worth a try.

Hi I’m on the hunt for the perfect croissant and I developed my own rating system. Here’s what I think about the petite Provence croissant, each category is scored out of 10: 1. Exterior Flake: 4/10 2. Lamination / Layer Definition: 6/10 3. Butter Quality & Distribution: 9/10 4. Interior Texture: 5/10 5. Aroma: 6/10 6. Freshness: 6/10 @ 11:00 am on Wednesday 7. Shape & Presentation: 8/10 8. Mouthfeel: 6/10 9. Aftertaste: 6/10 10. Overall Pleasure Factor: 6/10 Composite average: 6.2/10 good butter, mid bake, pretty face, lacking in soul. A better flake would easily take this 2-3 point higher.
Jens T — Google review
They changed the menu, so a lot of what you see online isn’t available anymore. However, there are still some great options. I had the ultimate polenta cakes and everything was above my expectations. I especially liked the squash as a side. They give you a lot of food, and I wasn’t able to finish it all.

Great place for a Saturday brunch! It was beautiful inside the restaurant, and the pastries were delicious! Highly recommend. Great waitstaff as well.
Jackie S — Google review
My expectation might be too high? The food was okay, mainly just looks pretty. But the server…? Served the table that came after us right away, and the whole time she didn’t even stop by or get us our water until they were already eating?!! We were just there reading our menu and looking for our server for 20 mins. No smile, might be having a bad day, sad service oh well… at least the host was nice

Eastern European restaurant
Russian restaurant
Kachka is a lively restaurant in Central East Side that offers refined Russian cuisine and house-infused vodkas in a kitschy setting. The establishment serves creative and light Russian fare, including shareable small plates like crispy beef tongue with sweet onion sauce, pan-fried sour-cherry vareniki, and caviar with blini. A crowd favorite is the classic chicken Kiev prepared the old-fashioned way.
Great food, great service! This Russian restaurant is warm and welcoming, with a cozy atmosphere and traditional decor. The food tastes homemade and very authentic. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the service was quick. Don’t forget to try their house-made drinks or a shot of vodka! Highly recommend if you want to enjoy real Russian food in a nice setting.
Victoria S — Google review
Can't say I've ever been to a Russian restaurant before but this seemed very authentic and well worth it! We got there early and were seated early to take advantage of happy hour. I didn't love the wine (and should have known better than to get wine as it's not what they're known for) and they were gracious enough to let me switch to a cocktail which was excellent (bourbon with pine). We had a group of four and did family style with both specials. The fritters and dumpings were favorites, nothing disappointed!
Kelly F — Google review
What a Great place to discover. This restaurant took the best testes of all the historical Soviet Union dishes and improved them with the new modern flow! Everything we tried was fresh, delicious, and nicely served. We were in town just for 2 days and yet, decided to come back once again for lunch before leaving. Service was beyond professional and at the same time welcoming and friendly. Thank you for that joyful time travel.
Vladislava K — Google review
My husband and I have made it our mission to try all of the places featured on the Portland episode of ‘Somebody Feed Phil’ from Netflix, and I have to say that Kachka was an absolute hit. The building itself is gorgeous from the large branches running across ceiling to the Eastern European decor scattered tastefully throughout the restaurant, it makes you feel both at home and in a different world. Our server was perfect and went over the menu as it was our first time which was very appreciated, super friendly and inviting. My husband and I ordered the sauerkraut to start, followed by the Tvorog Vareniki and the Penovani Khachapuri, our mains consisted of the chicken and hanger steak Shashlik - the steak was cooked perfectly and the chicken was insanely flavorful. We tried two infused vodkas; a caraway one and the horseradish - caraway was a personal favorite of mine. I recommend dessert even if you’re stuffed to the brim; split the three-layer milk cake as it just rounds your meal off. There’s a small market upstairs, hit that once your meal is over and stock up on some goodies especially the many flavors of Vareniki. I was insanely excited to see a brand of tinned fish I thought I’d only find when I visited Copenhagen. All in all, amazing experience that’s well worth it and I’ll be looking forward to returning. Thank you Kachka!
Lauren D — Google review
We came for a special occasion in a big group of 8. I enjoyed the quirky Soviet style ambience. The food choices were staples of the Russian cuisine sometimes re-imagined and beautifully arranged into a tasty morsels!
Maria S — Google review
Best meal we had in Portland. Truly wonderful ambiance with amazing food, no wonder it's so hyped up. We made a reservation, and I'm super glad we did, because it was totally packed. The best by far were the meat dumplings, but everything was excellent. Even the pickled vegetables were lovely. Will for sure be back!
Jake B — Google review
The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food was good, and the interior had an interesting style. While it's Eastern European cuisine, the decor leaned heavily toward “russian” or Soviet-era themes—which some may find nostalgic, but felt a bit odd to me. The *Stand with Ukraine* sticker that was once on the menu is no longer there. Happy hour prices are great, and I’d recommend trying something from the dessert menu. It was quite busy on a Sunday evening, so we did wait a while for our food.
Marta S — Google review
I had lunch here with a friend while I was on town for a convention. It's just far enough away from the convention center to be a calm place to enjoy your meal, even if multiple events are going on. My food (the Siberian Pelmeni) was incredible. It was the perfect place for my friend and I to catch up.

Nestled in the upscale Mount Tabor neighborhood, Coquine is a comfortable fine-dining restaurant with a cozy corner kitchen that offers farm-to-table New American dinners and casual cafe fare during the day. Chef Katy Millard's sustainable and seasonable approach to her craft reflects in the hushed, adult atmosphere of this historic building.
Visiting Portland for the first time and we are glad that we came here for the tasting menu. The spring theme was notable throughout (maybe a bit too much green). The veggies and mushrooms were really a standout (maybe too earthy for some). It may not be a crowd pleaser but we absolutely loved everything. Plating could be better though :)

Incredible dinner at Coquine. The service was amazing and attentive all night. It’s a quaint restaurant and you’ll love it. Their menu changes every season. We had the cucumber salad, the asparagus, and the half chicken. The chicken takes about 45 to cook and plate be patient. The half chicken is more than enough for 2 people.

I have been in Portland for a minute now and you have to appreciate what it takes to make it as a restaurant. Coquine made it through the pandemic, and came out stronger. The food is phenomenal. If her food was a person, it would be someone you would cuddle up to in a cold winter night and tell secrets to. Somehow after eating, you feel lighter. Tonight was just something else. Shout out to front of the house folks for making this a seamless experience. I wish I could do this again and again

Wonderful romantic and intimate dining experience. Incredibly attentive and caring staff. Felt old school like taking our coats at the door and folding up our napkins if we stood up to use the restroom. We ordered the beet salad, pork osso buco and the duck breast. The salad was kindly split into two despite ordering one order which was a lovely unexpected service style. All were magnificent

Omg. I would dine here any chance I can get. They understand everything about fine dining. Everything. Go for the chefs tasting menu. Mind blown. It was supposed to be 5 courses, but it ended up 7. Every little bit was amazing. The chef even came by at the end of the meal to check in and offer us a choice from a wonderful treats tray! An arrangement of sweets, so hard to choose. I included the photo of my favorite item, but then I forgot to photo the rest because I was getting brain fog from the amazing food. So good!!!

For dessert, make sure to ask to see the options on the Candy Tray. Otherwise they may skip showing you and you'll miss out!!! The place is very cute inside. The staff is attentive as well. The cucumber salad was amazing, seriously delicious. Just the aroma when they put the plate down was mouth watering. The bread, again, was amazing. The angolotti was scrumptious. The spinach and walnuts added so much flavor and texture. Wish we'd gotten 2 plates! The roasted chicken was good. It was cooked perfectly, had a crunchy skin and was juicy. The standouts on the plate were the sides though. I would happily eat an entire serving of those sides. Truly five star. For dessert we had the mara des bois strawberries. It was great. We got chocolate chip cookies, but didn't know to ask to see the Tray and missed out on all those options. The table next to us and ourselves were disappointed to see another table get shown the desserts in the Tray after we'd finished our meals. If it was up to my wife, she'd have knocked off a star for that sin. Some of the options on the Tray looked good...

While the food, wine and cocktails are all amazing, the service is exceptional! In a quiet neighborhood, great atmosphere and the best service we ever had after the pandemic. Cute, little place, may want to make reservations, we went for a walk around the neighborhood until our table was ready. We had the most AMAZING dinner at Swiss Hibiscus!! After we ordered our meals and sat down, we were immediately served hot rolls with Martin’s dressing and Martin’s hot dressing. The rolls were light and fluffy and both dressings were delicious. We started with cheese fondue and French bread cubes. It was so good and plenty for the 4 of us. Then we had the French onion soup and Potato Leek soup. Each had excellent flavor. The house salat and cabbage salat both had Martin’s dressing on them and were very fresh. Our entrees were very filling. The pork Osso buco had an amazing sauce and fell right off the bone. The linguine was very tasty. The roast chicken sandwich was seasoned perfectly. The bratwurst with browned onions, au jus and spatzli was fantastic. The chicken wienerschnitzel was perfectly seasoned, lightly breaded and crispy and the spatzli was wonderful. We did make room for desserts. Their special was profiteroles with vanilla ice cream and melted chocolate. We got 2 orders. We also got a house-made chocolate chip cookie ice cream cookie sandwich and vanilla ice cream with melted chocolate. The service was impeccable. Both servers were very kind and attentive. The chef has put her heart and soul into the preparation of our meals. We are looking forward to our next visit!

What can I say except Swiss Hibiscus exceeded my expectations! When I found this restaurant for our vacation, it was because I was feeling cheese fondue for the evening. I found delicious cheese fondue, incredible entrees, dessert, and customer service! The restaurant setting is so cozy along with really nice employees. We ordered the escargot, cheese fondue, Swiss onion soup, spaghetti ticinese, and caramel custard for dessert. I recommend absolutely everything we ordered, especially the caramel custard!!! As a self proclaimed dessert expert, it was perfect. We also got some complimentary homemade holiday dessert made by the owner’s mother. How sweet was that? Will definitely be back next time we’re in Portland! Thank you Swiss Hibiscus and your lovely staff!

A hidden gem! The foods here taste and similar to French dishes. They all have unique tastes and most likely not disappoint you (I’m picky when it comes to western dish). The owner was initially a chef in Hawaii then he opened his own restaurant. The service was definitely professional. I’d love to go back again and try some other dishes I haven’t tried the last time.

The menu features an array of mouthwatering options, with standout items like their creamy hummus and vibrant crudités that are simply irresistible—so good you might just want to savor them by the spoonful!
One of the best Mediterranean place and food that I have had in PNW. I stopped here while visiting Portland with my friend. Their Turkish coffee is delicious! Excellent Food, ambiance, staff.

A small, cozy spot that definitely deserves a solid 4.5. We tried the lamb gyro, burnt end beef, and chicken kebab with mejadara rice—all were pretty good!

I absolutely love Lil’ Shalom, but honestly you can’t go wrong with any of the amazing restaurants from Sesame Collective. I’ve been a few times to LS and love the ambiance and feel in the restaurant, with the open kitchen and wood fire oven in plain view. The burnt beef ends hummus with pastrami and roasted jalapeño, served with fresh pita, were incredible. I also loved the grilled octopus with smashed potatoes. Every bite was decadent. And a great option for vegetarians is the Shalom Y’all Plate with some of the best falafel I’ve ever had. Great food, great service, fun ambiance - can’t go wrong with Lil’ Shalom!

Good food, diverse menu. We had the lamb shawarma and chicken schnitzel, both well flavored but I enjoyed the lamb the most. Also got the mejadara lentil and rice plate. They did ask to see vaccination status in order to eat inside which was nice, and surprisingly all too rare around here. There were heated booths outside that started to fill soon after we got there, indoor seating is very limited.

We find this place on a trip to Portland. The restaurant is fairly small, but we were fortunate to have a day where we could sit at their outdoor tables. We tried the Nazareth kebab and an order of the classic hummus. The kebab was fresh and very flavorful. The hummus was smooth and tasty. I would recommend ordering a and pita if you get hummus.

Wow 😮!!! Best meal in Portland. Loved everything we had here. Our party of 6 literally was liking their fingers. Humus was unreal. Pita bread amazing. Shakshuka wonderful. Hold on, I am running out of adjectives. Anyway you have to go

Absolutely delicious. Going in with a small 3 person group that has a vegan and an adventurous eater, it felt like there was something for everyone. Served up family style to share. Everyone thought they are a little more than they would have normally, but because it was just so yummy we finished off our 3 dishes. Best part is nobody felt overly stuffed.

I adored this place. The waiter brought us a fennel salad to try as we were waiting for our meal, which not only was a kind gesture, but it was incredibly delicious and not something I would have thought to order. The chicken kebob I had was over lentils, rice and the perfect amount of sauce. My partner's shakshuka was incredible as well. Definitely make a stop here!

AFURI IZAKAYA SE PORTLAND is a Tokyo-based eatery that found its home in Portland in 2016. The restaurant attributes its choice of location to the city's water quality, which closely resembles that of Japan, and the abundance of local farms and producers. This combination allows them to create top-notch ramen and Japanese dishes.
This spot never disappoints! The drinks are packed with flavor, refreshing, and made with fresh ingredients. I love the variety on the menu—there’s always something new to try, and everything tastes amazing. The ramen is rich and comforting, and the appetizers are just as good—perfect for sharing or starting a meal. The service is quick and friendly, and the atmosphere is bright and welcoming. A perfect place to grab a treat, enjoy a bowl of ramen, or relax with friends. Highly recommend to anyone looking for great food, great drinks, and great vibes!

I first went to afuri when it was located in old town close to voodoo donuts back in August and October and it was amazing I couldn't stop gushing about it. When I visited Portland afuri was the first place I was gonna stop by. To my surprise it no longer was located there so I went to the new location and I wanted to order the same thing I got last time and I showed the server the picture on the left and she said that they no longer had certain things. I notice the menu was very different and she confirmed that the menu has changed. I definitely noticed a difference in the food. The flavor wasn't there anymore. I definitely saw a change. I was very sad about it because to me this was the best ramen I had ever tasted now the flavor and spice is not there anymore. I have 2 pictures from when I was in afuri. one (left) is from October and the other was just this week and the difference is very evident followed by the flavor. Even the spicy paste was very different. I wish the quality and taste was the same as last time. I'm very optimistic and I'll stop by again next time I come to Portland.

We came here on Saturday during lunch, and the restaurant wasn’t very busy. When we arrived, it seemed like there were more employees than customers. By the time we finished, most of the staff were just hanging out and chatting since there wasn’t much to do. The food was very good, but I thought the portion was a bit small. I even joked that maybe it was because it’s Japanese—but Japanese ramen portions are usually bigger than people might expect. We were two native Japanese and one American.
Hiroyo M — Google review
Every time we come to Portland, we have to eat here (make reservations at least a week ahead!) The ramen REALLY tastes like in Japan. No other ramen places do it right. The texture, the broth, the flavor. The quality is spot on. Only thing is, it is pricey and the girls at the front are not friendly. (The server was nicer but right after seating us, she told us we only had a certain amount of time to eat.) It's a busy place, sure, so we try not to mind as we just go there for the food... The yuzu ramen is my favorite. Love the yuzu sparkling too. We've had the chirashi, the tartare, and other ramen before. Everything is delicious. Definitely not a place to chit chat (it's loud anyway - save that for a dessert place afterwards).

All the staff were great- pleasant, attentive, well put together. Our server Josh was SPECTACULAR and is the sole reason I am writing this review, tonight being my 3rd visit over a 2 year period. You know the food is gonna be good, but the stellar service provided by Josh really hit this one out of the ballpark and made an enjoyable evening out even that much better. Josh, if you see this, you are excellent at what you do- keep up the fantastic work! Any establishment would be incredibly lucky to have you on their team!!

If you’re looking for fine Japanese food experience, then give it a try. Else, look the other way. The sashimis are not worth the price. But the yuzu ramen soup does taste good.

Love this creative Japanese restaurant, tough to find a parking spot around this neighborhood but totally worth the visit for sure. My friend recommended me the yuzu ramen 🍜, but then we happened to try the daily special uni (which was absolutely amazing), Dan Dan noodles, and the 10 pieces of chef choice sashimi.

Boke Bowl is a popular Japanese-inspired eatery located in an industrial space, offering a unique take on traditional ramen. Established as a monthly pop-up, it has evolved into a permanent fixture in Portland's dining scene.
We absolutely loved our experience at Boke Bowl! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming, a perfect blend of modern, casual dining with a strong community vibe. The menu offers a creative fusion of East and West, and you can tell a lot of thought went into both the flavors and the presentation. We ordered the fried chicken bowl and the tuna poke bowl, and both were outstanding. The use of fresh, seasonal vegetables really stood out and added an extra layer of flavor and texture to the dishes. The fried chicken was perfectly crispy and flavorful, and the tuna poke was fresh and beautifully balanced. We highly recommend adding a side of their pickled veggies, they were tangy, vibrant, and paired perfectly with both bowls. One detail that really impressed us as parents: they provide small water cups for kids along with the silverware. It may seem minor, but thoughtful touches like that make families feel welcome and included. The pricing is very reasonable considering the quality and creativity of the food. The staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care about our experience. Overall, Boke Bowl offers something truly special—delicious, thoughtfully prepared food in a relaxed and inclusive setting. We’ll definitely be back and encourage anyone in the area to give it a try!

Crazy good. Crazy cheap. Makes me proud to live in PDX. This place is a perfect example of Portland taking food to the next level. I was just down in San Francisco and paid $70 for a bowl that I would argue tastes worse than heavenly bliss they serve here. Brussels sprouts. Not a #1 on my list. But this place somehow made them my favorite part of the dish. I leave this place feeling like I took some supplements. You know that feeling when your body tells you all the vitals are in check. Yup this place does that. Arguably the best soup, dumplings, and somehow fried chicken spot on PDX. You need to go here, it's not a matter of if, but when. Plan it, do it. You won't be disappointed. In fact you'll be back for more with friends.

Loved! Tofu rice bowl. Tons of veggies. Delicious. Daughter had the fried chicken rice bowl. Ate it all! We are very selective. Can’t wait to come back. Front of the house was very welcoming. .

Fried chicken rice bowl contains chicken, vegetables, cucumbers, kimchi, etc., as well as rice. It is much bigger than the picture, so it is enough to fill you up. It tastes even better when you add the spicy sauce on the table. The menu does not include 3% CAT, and the actual price is calculated with it.

I started off my Saturday with a great meal with a good friend. We had a reservation for a distillery tour and we wanted to make sure we had a good base for the day ahead. Overall our experience was great. The staff was really nice and the food came out quickly. The ramen was pretty good, I’d say maybe a 7. The Fried Chx Rice bowl definitely hit the spot as well as the buns.

I really like this food, from the moment I walked in to when I waited for my food the ambiance was very welcoming. Very open, the menu on the wall is also big and easy to read. I opted for the pork rice bowl, definitely surprised at the balance of ingredients. It didn’t seem like a lot, but the serving size is very accommodating. The team smiled and welcomed every person. It did get busy after receiving the food. The hibiscus mango tea was great. Can’t wait to visit again.
Taurino V — Google review
We have only ordered the food for delivery. That said, the first time we ate from here our taste buds were treated with what seemed like a new flavor with every bite. I was even more pleased to be able to enjoy breaded chicken that not only was GF, it was actually good. The next time we ordered, all was still delicious. By the third and fourth time, I am unsure if the food has changed or we are getting used to it. However, Boke bowl is still one of our top 5 default places to order from if we don’t want to go out or cook.

Petisco is a charming eatery located in the basement of a historic Victorian home, offering a rotating menu inspired by Europe. Situated in the NE Irvington hub, this neighborhood restaurant provides both indoor and outdoor seating options. The menu features a diverse range of dishes, ranging from healthy salads and sandwiches to indulgent choices like French onion soup and meatloaf. Nestled in the Lloyd District, this hidden gem surprises diners with its delicious offerings at reasonable prices.
This quiet, tucked away, small restaurant in the Lloyd District packs a punch with its tasty and really reasonably priced menu. Went for a catch up with a friend and a hankering for French Onion soup on a rainy night. A bottle of Portuguese wine, two bowls of soup, butternut ravioli and two desserts later....we were stuffed, happy we came and only out $66. Seating is limited.

Enjoyed a lovely Mother’s Day dinner at Petisco’s. We shared the Petisco platter, Petisco salad, and pesto gnocchi. Hearty, Spanish inspired flavors with a twist. We left with lots of leftovers and content bellies. Our server, Sabrina was outstanding. Highly recommend!

Warm, attentive service is coupled consistently good food. The beef carpaccio is always a treat. New today to the menu was a luscious salmon salad with King salmon, sliced dried apricots, apple slices, goat cheese, and a beautiful mix of greens. Sandwiches like the piquant roast beef with horseradish and the humorously named Angry Sicilian are also outstanding.

Until recently I worked on NE Broadway for nearly the last 5 years and have passed the place many a times and decided to stop in tonight to take myself on a solo dinner date. I am now kicking myself for sleeping on this place. What a cute, tucked away hidden gem! Sabrina was working the front of house and was an absolute sweetheart. I mentioned I was a lactose intolerant and pescatarian and she nailed it recommending the salmon salad. The salmon was perfectly cooked and the salad was fresh, and light while still hitting savory, sweet, acidic and a little nutty with the the feta. I enjoyed myself while dining alone but i’n looking forward to having a new date spot! Especially on the cute little patio while summer winds down.

Davenport is an American eatery that offers a diverse and ever-changing menu in a stylish, industrial setting. The kitchen, helmed by skilled chef Kevin Gibson, draws inspiration from Italian cuisine, creating dishes like flavorful pates, delightful soups, succulent braised meats, and fresh local fish. Gibson's focus is on highlighting the natural flavors of the ingredients without unnecessary complexity.
The food was brilliant, service wasn’t on point the night we went but there was only one server so have to cut him a break. Overall a great little spot that’s been there a while and doesn’t get much attention…it’s a great place for a date night or just a casual night out with friends for some very well made food and cocktails were delicious too! Bravo.

Two of us had the scallops. They were delicious, however a miniscule portion. We absolutely had room for desert, but went elsewhere for that as we feared how small the deserts might be if the scallops were any indication. I read all the 5 star reviews, might give it another chance, but with all the choice out there, maybe not.

One of the best meals we’ve ever had. Incredible porcini mushroom crostini, fried crab dumplings with a huge amount of crabmeat, house-made pasta with savory chicken thigh and morels. Great wine list. Low-key but sophisticated, elite cooking. Truly one of the best restaurants in Portland.

I just had a wonderful meal at Davenport. The bartender recommended the nettle dumplings which were delicious and very unusual as well as the halibut with Manila clams and red beans. Again, an unusual dish that was delicious. I’ll be back.

We did not have a great experience here. All of the food was fine - well-cooked and seasoned, but nothing stood out. Would have been a pleasant evening. The service though, was pretty bad. Our waiter rarely checked on us, never asked how our food was or if we needed anything else, and I had to flag him down to get another round of drinks, after quite a while with empty glasses. We also had our last dish come out almost an hour after the other 5-6. We asked twice if it was coming, and he got a bit snippy and said “I’ll bring it out when it’s ready.” He never offered to check on it, or apologized. It seemed like the kitchen’s fault, not his, but he could have easily kept us informed and checked on it, given us an ETA, but nothing.

Super friendly staff. The tapas style dishes were simply perfect. We ordered a half a dozen oysters and they’re served with horseradish, lemon on the side; super fresh. Eggshells in my Benedict!!! I really hate giving bad reviews but sometimes you just have to say something. It would be wrong not to. We went here for breakfast on a Friday morning. The dining room was full and we were told to grab a seat in the covered outdoor area. It was beautiful, with greenery and patio lights and wrought iron patio sets, but the loud traffic noise right next to us made it hard to hear at times and was off-putting. The lady we first spoke to came out and gave us our menus and took our order. She then brought us our coffee and our food and and asked if we needed ketchup or hot sauce and very quickly came back with it. That was the last time we saw her!!! No one ever checked back to see how our food was! No one asked if we needed refills! When I was about two bites into my meal I chomped down on eggshell! There was a square inch piece of eggshell in my salmon Benedict!!! I don't understand how, since the eggs were poached and Hollandaise sauce shouldn't have eggshells either, but there it was! I carefully poked through the rest of that half and put the shell aside to show the server. She never came back but a younger gentleman came and took care of the other party in the room and sat a single party and just ignored us. I eventually started eating again after waiting for a time for our server or the gentleman to come to our table. No one ever came back and we both ended up finishing our meal and coffee. The young gentleman came back to the room when someone else entered the dining area. He finally took the order for the single seat who had been waiting for quite a while. We called him over before he could leave again to get our check and show him the shell I crunched on. I was very nice about it because I don't think being rude helps anything but I guess I should have been. He did not apologize but took our plates and came back with the bill. No comp, no discount, no apology! I paid $25 for a salmon Benedict with eggshells in it!!! It really is a shame because the actual food was delicious. It was the best Hollandaise I have had in Oregon and the salmon was plentiful and perfectly cooked! In spite of this I will not go back and cannot in good conscience recommend this place to anyone. My husbands meal was good too but not worth the bad customer service.

I wanted to keep this gem to myself but that would not be doing anyone justice because this is a run, don't walk, situation Cafe Du Berry in Portland has the best breakfast in town. We had the eggs benedict, pepper steak and French toast and I would order the same thing again. All dishes were flavorful and large portions! Not only is the food unforgettable but the service and staff are quick, friendly and attentive. The restaurant has three different seating areas with all different ambiance vibes but all are amazing!

My favorite breakfast in Portland, a true gem! Feels like you’re eating at a friends home, the patio is lovely, the food is all so good. I’m not a French toast person but I can’t stop thinking about this custardy delicious French toast. The scallop mushroom omelette is also a favorite - creamy rich yet light sauce and fresh mushrooms and scallops.

My buddy took my wife and I here for brunch after we finish our hike. He been here before and recommended it for lunch because he said their French toast is amazing. This is a mom and pop type of breakfast place so it's not well known. When we arrived, he parked on the street and they seated us in their tent dining area. My friend went with their French toast, my wife got the scallops and mushroom omelet and I went with their French waffles. The size of my waffle was pretty big but I don't think it was worth the price of the food. The syrup I think they give with it is sugar free because it wasn't sweet to me and the French waffle had a plain taste. My wife and my friend enjoyed their dish. Our dish also come with the side of fruits but it was only like 2 pieces of orange and 1 strawberry. The service we received here was amazing, our waiter was attentive to our table. If you dine inside the restrauant, the second floor dining room will remind me of eating back in the old days. They only have 1 bathroom here so be aware of that.

Nudi Noodle Place is a unique Asian fusion restaurant located in Portland's Woodstock District. With its faux grass and bark-covered space, it offers global noodle dishes with an emphasis on Asian flavors. This noodle shop stands out by providing vegan varieties of their delicious dishes, including their customer favorite LakSa - a gluten-free noodle bowl with vegetarian and vegan options.
I've been passing by this restaurant for years, always quite intrigued due to its name and interesting exterior. Yet it wasn't until today my partner and I decided to give it a try. They have a fairly creative fusion menu, though it leans more toward Southeast Asian food, and I was immediately captivated by the idea of a fettuccine pasta created with coconut milk. I thought it was a good dish and turned out to be exciting and unique. My partner got the chicken pad thai and thought it was also good. The restaurant was a bit dingy the day we came in, but overall still looked intriguing on the inside, and service was friendly as well. It's definitely a place to try out if you're around the Woodstock area quite a bit.

The atmosphere is wonderful very joyful. The Seafood was very salty. The chocolate covered ribs were so good They just fell off the bone. The coconut chicken fettuccine was good. I just wish that they would cut the chicken pieces better. Because they don't offer you any knives. The devil chicken's wings were really phenomenal. The padthi was great. The violet was sweet tasted like honey with a very light flavoring. The waitress was rude though to my friend when she asked if the seafood dish was usually that salty. The answer is yes she says it's always very salty.

It had been a while since I've been back here. The place is located in the Woodstock neighborhood. They have both an indoor and outdoor seating area. We ordered the coconut chicken fettuccine, boat noodles, laksa, galbi jjim, chocolate ribs, and kids noodle bowl. I thought that the galbi jjim was well made and had lots of flavors that went well. The coconut chicken fettuccine was also decent. The chocolate ribs were interesting. The server was nice and efficient as he was the only one working the front end of the house when we went.

So many gluten free options!! The staff are very friendly and very attentive! The menu options are excellent! There were so many gluten free options to chose from, and dairy free too. Every dish was full of unique flavors. Large portions. The egg rolls were amazing! We ordered the spicy chicken wings in medium, they were just enough heat! I ordered the customer favorite and was not disappointed! My very picky eater brother in law ordered the Pad Thai and said “it was above average” that’s a lot coming from him:) all 7 of us enjoyed our meals and would highly recommend this restaurant. IT HAS ITS OWN PARKING LOT! The building is decorated very artistically inside. They also have outdoor seating.

Food: on the sweeter side. If you don’t like the savory & sweet combo, you might not like the laska and udon dry noodles. Devil wings were ok, but an order only comes with 3 wings. Service: the server was not very inviting…almost feel a little awkward when interacting with him. Not to mention, he added a large party fee on our bill for a party of 2! When I asked for my check, he brought out his machine, and it only showed a total of $56.40 and an additional line for tip. He didn’t mention tip was already included in the bill, so I was going to tip on top of the 20%! The only reason I found out was because I realized there were decimals in my total so I asked him if tip was already included. His excuse was he accidentally hit the wrong button for tip, and I could adjust it if I want. I didn’t want to be petty so I proceeded with paying the bill as is. After I paid, he didn’t even ask if I would like a copy of the receipt and just walked off. So I went up to the register, and asked for a copy. After reviewing my receipt, I realized he didn’t “accidentally” hit the wrong button for tip…He just added a “large party” fee! If you decide to eat here, remember to ask for a copy of the bill before you pay!

Food was delicious and the presentation of every dish was so unique. You wont be disappointed with anything on the menu. The decor of the restaurant is like entering a garden and quite dim. Paadee is a trendy Thai restaurant in Portland that offers a modern twist on traditional northern Thai comfort food. The ambiance is simple yet inviting, with bamboo lanterns and lush green plants adorning the space. The menu features a variety of small shareable plates reminiscent of street food found in Thailand, along with inventive dishes and craft cocktails. One must-try dish is the miang som, which tantalizes the palate with its burst of shrimp, citrus, and betel leaf.
Sat at the bar and had quick, attentive service. I got the papaya salad, which was great—could’ve used a bit more spice, but I appreciated being able to get it without shrimp. The khao soi was delicious—spicy enough that I was sweating, but in the best way. Had some leftovers to take home, and it was just as good later. The place gets pretty packed.

We were able to sit right away at the bar. The food was all amazing. We also got a cocktail and a mocktail that were both excellent. I got the "peach" slushy drink, but the bartender also gave me a sample of the pink one. Both were super good and fun to try. The food was amazing! We got the fried chicken wings and Muu Grob swith bothe basil garlic-chili sauce and chinese broccoli for $3 extra bucks. We got great service from the everyone there. This is a must visit if you haven't been here. They also had gluten-free items listed on the menu and were candid about cross contamination.

Holy smokes! Okay I’m having to admit Portland has it. The food scene in this city is by far exceeding all my expectations with Paadee pushing the bar even higher! Hands down the Muu Grob is a definite must if you are wanting a blast of flavor with each savory bite! I got it with the Chinese broccoli and let me tell you, I demolished it! Service is impeccable and the it was worth the 5 minute wait! Nothing but amazing service Stevie gave strong recommendations and I even got the Red Crab Fried Rice to go! I love food and I love this place! Highly recommend!

I’m currently half way through service and within the first 10 minutes I feel like Mason has treated me to the night of my life. Surrounded by good friends Mason has created an atmosphere that I’ll find myself cherishing years from now. THE BEST RESTAURANT. The best service. The best time. I’m going to put my phone down now and have the time of my life.

My wife and I finally decided to wait it out and get a table. Good reasonably priced Thai food but definitely not the best we’ve ever had. Atmosphere was great as was the service.
Dre C — Google review
Downright incredible. The flavor to cost ratio here is EXCELLENT. Stunningly delicious and the bill was so friendly. The black cod curry was possibly the best red curry I've ever had.
Genevieve C — Google review
Oh… OH. This was superlative. The best Thai food I’ve ever had in my life. I wish I could give 80 stars. Let’s get right into the food. Portions are heavy so everything is shareable. I started with the Waterfall cocktail and that’s when I knew this was going to be a special meal. So complex and deliberate in flavor. 10/10. For food we ordered the pad see ew with prawns, red crab fried rice, and ba mhee pitsanulok, and tofu Pad Kee Mao. Oh….. 🤤 everything hit. Everything 100000/10. The pad see ew was so rich I thought I was going to explode. Bursting with flavor. THE best I’ve had. I’m still dreaming about the crab fried rice. They did not skimp not he crab meat it was overflowing with crab. The ba mhee pitsanulok was incredible. If not for being on a roadtrip, I would have taken it home and made some more noodles to prepare a second take. The thai iced tea WOWWWWW. Every dish I’d consumed before, but these plates were the best version I’d ever experienced. For dessert we needed to try the mango sticky rice. It did exactly what it needed to do. Warm, sweet, and perfect. Sent me right to sleep. Happily paid that bill. If I ever return to Portland this will easily be the first stop. And shout out to the wonderful host Mason!!!

The flank steak salad was delicious, full of flavor. Also ordered the black cod curry, which was also delicious. The pad kee maw was probably the least flavorful, still tasty but the other dishes had such strong flavors.

Eem is a vibrant Thai BBQ and cocktail lounge with a tiki twist, located in Portland. This modern eatery offers a fusion of Thai flavors and Texas barbecue, creating an exciting dining experience. The menu features dishes like fiery kanpachi ceviche, sweet-and-sour fried chicken, and sliced brisket in jungle curry. Guests can also enjoy tropical drinks served in traditional mugs, adding to the vacation-like atmosphere.
BEWARE: A busy little corner with delicious food inside. The perfect spot to get dressed up and treat yo self. A cozy little spot and everyone we interacted with were friendly 💜 a perfect date night. The salad was so fresh with a splash of sweetness. The cauliflower was in a lovely sauce with a good kick of heat. The drinks were delicious, sorry forgot their names >.< Drum roll please! My FAVS. Honestly, I get them every time. First the BBQ friend rice is so delicious, the spices, meat, rice, peppers are 10/10 will make you return again. The second dish that you have to try if you like curry is the white curry with burnt ends. Perfection. It's rich, hearty, decadent and all that is good with the world. Thank you for what you do Eem. An amazing fusion restaurant that knows how to highlight both cuisines. Till next time, 💕

Great vibe and decent food. We came here because of the raving reviews, but the service was disappointing. We came here for dinner with a party of 6 and we understand that it is normal for popular restaurants to have wait times especially during regular lunch/dinner hours. The receptionist initially quoted about 35 to 50 minutes of wait time, and we waited over an hour for a table. What is more frustrating is - we told the receptionist that we are willing to be seated separately if it helps with the wait, because we have seen parties who have came after us get seated before us, but the receptionist said that we have been entered into the system as a party of 6 and it would mess the system up if we try to change it to two smaller parties. Understandable but also extremely inflexible as a business operator. When we finally got a table in the end, it wasn’t like it was one big table for 6, they had to join two tables together anyways so why make us wait for over an hour for that. The computer system might not be smart enough to make that flexible switch but human receptionists/operators should have been able to, that is why you are paid the money to work there and not just have a computer do everything. To top it off, they have the audacity to give us a bill that came with a 22% gratuity charge. Tipping should be optional first of all and 22% should be reserved for service that are outstanding. Not only did the people at this restaurant not do anything impressive for us, they weren’t even flexible enough to help us reduce our wait time to begin with. So despite the decent food and atmosphere in this restaurant, this will be a no from me for coming back or recommending.

Atmosphere is fun and hip. Prices are pretty steep for what it is. Service was great. We ordered the veggie curry and bbq pork fried rice. The curry was mid, very mild lacking flavor but the vegetables were nicely done. The fried rice was honestly inedible. The server took off the rice and mentioned that it is cooked in a wok that gets really hot. Honestly it tasted like the wok wasn’t cleaned off in between cooking and the over burnt flavor contaminated the fried rice. Every bite tasted like charcoal. Would recommend this place if you want very mild Thai food in a fun atmosphere but don’t get the fried rice unless maybe it’s lunch time when the wok is fresh.

When the sensual manifests itself in the form of food. This place is stunning. Easily one of the best restaurants in Portland. The staff dress uniquely and pleasantly, they are kind. The food, erotic explosions of flavors and tastes that are beyond description. (Not pictured) The cauliflower is an absolute must; the boneless wings are delicious. My mouth is watering like Pavlov’s dog as I’m writing this, with the simple memory. The way the brisket pairs with the curry — ephemeral. Wow, truly spectacular experience. Had to go again the following week. Highly recommend

I loved my experience at Eem! The service was quick and efficient- my meal arrived in about five minutes from ordering, and the check was already brought to my table immediately before finishing the food which I really appreciated. I was really excited to try the Thai bbq fusion. The white curry was honestly one of the best I have ever tried. The meat was super tender and the flavors were so rich and delicious. Highly recommend Eem!
Chloe R — Google review
Super duper cute place, I can definitely see why it’s popular. The papaya salad is fire, very very spicy. We love spicy food and it was nice to have it actually be spicy when they warn. The white curry was tasty but lacked acidity, even just a bit of a lime squeeze would do. The red vegetable curry had these amazingly prepared cremini mushrooms, but the overall flavor was a bit lacking, as if they hadn’t used quite enough curry paste. Overall a good experience tho, good music played in there and great vibes. To be fair we are use to very traditional Thai and that isn’t what EEM claims to be!
Kaia S — Google review
Let’s talk about Eem. I tried it for the first time on my trip to Portland and went back because it was so good. The atmosphere is great with open windows with a nice decor. The cocktails are unique cups that you would find at a tiki bar. The food is incredible. I got the Massaman curry w/ smoked lamb shoulder and was insane. I also got the brisket fried rice which tasted burnt and not as flavorful compared to the curry. A ton of people around me loved the white curry and seemed to be a popular item. With a shellfish and peanut allergy, my menu selections were limited, but still ate a good meal. It was very busy on both random days I went, so I would recommend making a reservation if you have a larger party or expect a wait.
Yuri V — Google review
One word TLDR: salty We wait about 1 hour to get a table on Friday night. We got 3 dishes: white curry with brisket burnt ends, BBQ fried rice and hot cauliflower. White curry with brisket burnt ends - the best thing I had. Curry itself got nice flavors and the burnt ends were cooked perfectly. With that said, these two flavors don’t go together and don’t complement each other. 4/5 BBQ fried rice - very disappointing. Nothing special and just salty. 2/5 Hot cauliflower - this one the most salty. I can feel my heart racing through the roof at the end of the meal. 2/5 We also got a fun pickle alcoholic drink. 3/5 i think the saltiness of the food almost ruined the drink for me.

Worth the hype! Easily the best thai food I have ever had! The flavors are deep, fresh, and delicious! A cute, casual vibe that was clean and welcoming. Staff were friendly, and the food came out quickly! Would recommend Kati to anyone

I thought the Thai Iced Tea with Coconut Milk was just ok. Definitely order the Sweet Chili Tots as a little appetizer. The Red Curry with Fried Tofu was delicious! Service was so quick and friendly. Overall a solid vegan Thai food spot!

I got the tom yum style stir fry vermicelli that they had for an August special— genuinely one of the best things I’ve ever put in my mouth. Chili garlic stir fry balanced out with the slightly sweet/sour tom yum elements with the perfect ratio of noodles to veggies/tofu. I also got their Thai ice coffee which was delicious. The service was very friendly, prices were reasonable, and the food was amazing. Highly recommend!!

Pad See Eww is the best. Besides that, they are good but not exceptional. The soy curl is pretty good except that it is very very salty. The place is kinda small given its popularity. So better book the tables of you are coming as a group.

This awesome and delicious Thai restaurant is a must try! There are many selections and the drinks are good too. We got Pad Thai, Prik Khing, vegan Thai iced tea, and not in photo Tom Yum soup. All were mild spicy which just gives us a sting like a taste of heat in a good tasty way… the people are great, service excellent as well. Overall our lunch was satisfying!! Going back soon.

Really wonderful dining experience! We loved all the food here for its flavorful nature and vegetarian/vegan options! It makes eating so easy for us knowing all the food is prepared well! Really cant speak more highly of the place! There can make fold Jain upon request. The stir-fry dishes were so tasty and I truly enjoyed the depth of flavor!

Had the curry puffs and the pineapple fried rice and highly recommend both: the flavors were amazing and special; not just your typical Thai place. The service was great. Overall, I highly recommend.

The food has always been good and we’ve visited a few times before. This time, we came back to celebrate my mother’s birthday and made an indoor reservation in advance. Unfortunately, we arrived five minutes late due to difficult parking in the area, and were told the inside was already full with a waitlist. We were seated outside at a small patio table, and eventually they sat us inside, but there wasn’t really any service given throughout. The drunken noodle and pad see ew were a bit bland and tasted the same, but the green curry and tom yum soup were good, though a little on the sweet side. Overall, disappointing for a special occasion.

Happy Lamb Hot Pot in Beaverton offers a modern Mongolian-style hot pot dining experience where diners can cook meat and vegetables in broth right at their table. The restaurant provides a multi-step ordering system and hands-off service, which may be challenging for newcomers but is appreciated by experienced hot pot enthusiasts. Guests have praised the excellent and efficient service, as well as the quality and variety of food options available. The flavors are described as rich and authentic, creating a delightful dining atmosphere.
Had an absolutely fantastic experience at this hotpot restaurant! The broth was rich, flavorful, and packed with the perfect balance of spices — you could taste the depth from the fresh herbs, chilies, and aromatics simmering away. The dipping sauce selection was excellent, allowing us to customize every bite to our liking. The side dishes, especially the stir-fried rice with eggs, peas, and carrots, were light yet flavorful, complementing the hotpot perfectly. Service was attentive and friendly, with staff checking in just enough to make sure everything was going smoothly without being intrusive. The ingredients were fresh, the portions generous, and the overall atmosphere warm and inviting. If you love authentic, well-prepared hotpot with quality ingredients and great service, this place is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming back!

We tried the all-you-can-eat menu, and it was a great experience. The variety of meats, vegetables, tofu, and noodles was great, everything was fresh and great quality. They offer a higher-tier meat selection for an additional cost, but we stuck with the regular option and were still very satisfied. A nice surprise was that they had chicken wings, which were unexpectedly delicious. I recommend ordering from the menu options marked with the lamb drawing on the left side of the menu item, those were especially good. They also had other items at an additional cost. Next time, we’ll definitely try their skewers. Service was great overall—some staff members don’t speak much English, but they were still friendly and very prompt. One small downside is that the sauce bar requires an extra charge, which felt like something that should have been included. Overall, a great hot pot experience with plenty of fresh ingredients and good service. Looking forward to coming back!

Wonderful 3 course hotpot that wasn't too busy. We were a group of 10, but didn't know they used yelp to book reservations for more than 6 people. We had to wait a little, but they accommodated us wonderfully. Definitely go in hungry, you'll need the stomach space. Get the added sidebar for sauces, kimchi, picked cucumber, and lots more. We will be returning for more.

Happy lamb is one of my favorite hot pot experiences and we noticed they've updated their menus and they include even more food options now! We also appreciate that while they had some slight confusion on ADA compliance laws they were open to receiving information and we were able to leave them an ADA card in regards to Service animals and the two legal questions they are allowed (and truly Encouraged) to ask! They were kind, and very curtious with us, and provided phenomenal service, the food was amazing and we loved all of the new options including crab legs! We always get the sauce bar (dont skip it!) And I personally love the cucumber salad (spicy, amazing, umami flavors). If you have a group who cant decide easily get the 3 broth option and go to town! You definitely need to come hungry to eat your fill! We love it here and will be back many times to come in the future.
Jessica S — Google review
It is very expensive to eat here, even if you are doing the price per item. The food is good, but they nickel and dime you to death. It’s $3 for access to the sauce for the food (what other places charges for salt?), and nothing is labeled (in regard to allergies). They don’t have individual broths at the table, and even parties of 4 are sharing one pot. This is customary in the Portland metro area, but not necessarily throughout the US. So it’s good to know before you go, especially if you have food allergies. Communication from the servers isn’t great, not due to language issues, they just assumed we knew things we didn’t. The lack of communication was truly frustrating. My spouse and I shared a warm sake, it was meh, and not even that warm. 😑 I’m not sure we will go back, especially when you can buy the meats at the Asian Market nextdoor, and make your own hot pot for a fraction of the cost.
Misha W — Google review
Imma be honest, I used to love coming here until yesterday. I will not be coming back. The new servers they got in there are straight up rude and do not look like they want to be there. I was ignored multiple times and when one server brought me a water cup it was completely dirty on the inside. So I asked for sprite and there was a literal dead ant on top of the rim of the glass. I was disgusted and canceled my food. I left with no hesitation. All this happened before I got my food. It was so uncomfortable. I hope you guys can do better and get back to better/ cleaner service.
Dreyona R — Google review
Offers a delicious and wide range of meat and vegetable options as all you can eat. Everything was tasty and service was fair. It may have been because they were really busy, as the wait staff was short and not very attentive. Would recommend.
James D — Google review
One of the best hotpot in Beaverton/Portland area that is all you can eat. Premium meats and an abundance of delicious vegetables. You have to pay extra for the sauce bar but it does come with appetizers and is worth it. Service is quick though not chatty, which suits us fine since we are there for the food. The atmosphere is good, clean, though a bit cozy. Expect 2 people to be around 100 USD.

Nak Won is a popular Korean restaurant located in a bustling strip mall. Upon entering, the cozy ambiance and sizzling aromas of traditional Korean dishes immediately captivate your senses. The menu offers generous portions of classic dishes such as seafood pancake and spicy pork and potato soup, perfect for sharing with family or friends. Additionally, complimentary kimchi and potato salad add to the delightful dining experience.
As a Korean American who recently visited the home country last September, I can confidently say this is the best and authentic Korean Restaurant I’ve been to in Oregon! (Maybe even the PNW) Portions for each dish could easily feed 2-3 people! The service was wonderful, always felt cared for and always had enough side dishes handy! Even though there was a decent wait (30 mins so plan ahead, Saturdays are busy so expect a wait), their system of putting your name and number down made it easy enough. I love the vibes too, with all the framed photos of various Korean Culture like our ROK Soccer team and other traditional paintings! I cannot recommend this enough to anyone in WA or OR! You won’t be disappointed! 맛있었어요 meaning IT WAS DELICIOUS 👌

One of my favorite Korean restaurants of all time. Even after traveling to South Korea twice, I dare say Nakwon still ranks in my top three Korean restaurants. Having eaten here for almost two decades, the flavors at Nakwon have left such a lasting imprint on my palate that they’ve become the standard by which I measure all other kimchi and stews. The food is consistently excellent and never fails to amaze. Every time I take a bite of the stews or soups, it feels as though a world of happiness opens up and completely delights my palate. Even after nearly 20 years, that experience never gets old as every bite still feels like the very first to me. I highly recommend the seafood pancake, spicy tofu soup, and spicy beef rib stew.

The Banchan here is amazing! The portion sizes are great too. We got the seafood paradise which had udon noodles, squids, crabs mussels etc in a spicy soup, a paradise indeed ! We also got chicken bibimbap which had the crispy rice at the bottom and was flavourful😍 Very good service and quality food served. The spice level was good! May be adjusted well for the country 😁they had a good vegetarian menu too😃

The food speaks for itself, but it is a small space, if there is a loud group at the back of the restaurant, you can esily hear them (was the case for us). Not so romantic, but the food is excellent. Korean spicy beef special was fabulous. The host was somewhat informal, which really helped to make us feel more comfortable in asking what the dishes were and how to eat it. I've have korean bbq and other great korean food before and this was excellent all around. I'll forsure go back to try more!

I was craving for some soup and Mekha is one of my favorite spot close to home. This time around I tried one of their specialty noodle soup, it’s the turmeric noodle soup. Broth was so flavorful, and it hit the spot! The proteins in the soup were nice a tender, wide noodles complimented very well with a side of crunch sesame cracker. We also grabbed their pandan flan for Togo which was in this cute little glass that can be re-used. Service was quick and everyone here is so nice! Didn’t disappoint!

I love coming to Mekha with good friends or my gal. They’re always so friendly and there are plenty of comfortable booths and great food. I got a Pho Tai and it was delicious. A lot of tender meat in this baby today and I had to take some home. Plenty of food for $16.99. The salad rolls were delicious though they are pricey at $10.99. The atmosphere was so pleasant today with the yellow flowers and Chinese New Year envelopes hanging off their branches (see photos) that I forgot to take photos of the food! Next time. My pal got a grilled chicken plate with veggies and noodles (or was it rice) and it smelled so good - even though I’m not too into chicken. He loved it. This is probably my overall favorite Pho spot in town. Highly recommended!

Get 12A on the menu!!! This restaurant has both Vietnamese and Cambodian influence in the menu, and some of the the BEST noodle soup I’ve found, the PHNOM PENH NOODLES! Master Kong is a family-owned Chinese restaurant that offers a variety of comfort dishes such as noodles, congee, and dumplings. The restaurant has two locations in Portland and is known for its handmade pork dumplings, fried pot stickers, and soup-filled xiao long bao. Customers can order different types of dumplings, wontons, and buns from a large vertical touch screen.
Absolutely amazing food, you can taste the love and care that goes into preparing these dishes! It's fresh, flavorful and the hospitality is so welcoming. The young gentleman tending to customers was polite and happy to accommodate and serve us. The ladies in the kitchen were timely and diligent in preparing our plates. This place sets the bar high for any competition, keep it up!
Cecilia — Google review
I think the prices are perfect. The flavors of the food are potentially not what you'd typically expect for chinese food - it's like comfort, hearty, robust food. Not suuuuuper flavorful but comforting for sure. They give 3 sauces: chili oil, garlic sesame, soy sauce + vinegar, I asked for extra chili oil and garlic sesame. We liked the garlic sesame specifically with the handmade dumplings and the chili oil with literally everything else. Jiang bing ⭐⭐⭐✨ - wonton crisp a little soggy - flavors were there though - not super generous on the meat ♥️Beef stew ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨ - ordered extra meat - wish there was extra bok choy - noodles seemed fresh! - would definitely order again House made pork dumplings ⭐⭐✨ - definitely our least favorite, but it's solely a preference thing - just less flavor but it really was handmade - I think a lot of people would like the thicker skin on this ♥️Pan fried buns ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - coming back just for these - crisp, perfect, juicy - loved the pork on the inside

This Chinese restaurant is a true hidden gem for anyone craving authentic flavors. The moment you step in, you can smell the comfort of home-style cooking wafting from the kitchen. Their hot congees are rich, hearty, and perfect for a chilly day—each bowl feels like it’s been simmered with care. The dumplings are tender and flavorful, while the potstickers have that perfect golden crunch that makes you want “just one more” every time. What really stands out is how authentic everything tastes—no shortcuts, no watered-down recipes, just the kind of food you’d expect from a bustling street-side spot in China. And the prices? Amazingly affordable, especially considering the generous portions. You can walk out with a full stomach and still feel like you’ve gotten an incredible deal. Whether you’re stopping in for a quick bite or a leisurely meal with friends, this place delivers comfort, flavor, and value in every dish. It’s the kind of spot you find once and keep coming back to.

Came back after eating here a few weeks ago because their jian bing (savory filled crepe roll) was so good. It comes vegetarian by default and it's super affordable, lot of food, and packed with flavor and texture. Also tried their wonton noodles (non-veg) which were delicious and flavorful and their vegetarian / vegan dumplings were great too, however a tad too sweet for our tastes. Their pork dumplings, which is one of their staples, are better. Regardless of dumpling flavor, the quality of how the dumplings are prepared are superior since the crease on the top is thin enough to be enjoyable and the skin is just right. They are as good as eating dumplings from San Gabriel (LA). Everything is affordable here and high quality. It definitely feels like a local vibe here since you get your own free hot tea from the front (I love their tea) and order from qr codes on the table. They also play authentic Chinese music too on the tv, not just play bland American sports. I only wish they had more sauces like red vinegar (for wonton) and more options for my vegetarians friends. Otherwise, still very delicious and will be back to try more dishes

Master Kong absolutely went above and beyond. Not only was the food incredible — full of rich flavor and clearly made with love — but the kindness of the staff completely blew me away. I accidentally placed my order for pickup at their other location, and instead of canceling or making it complicated, they personally delivered my meal to me. That kind of thoughtfulness is so rare, and it meant so much. Everything from the food to the people just radiates warmth and care. You can tell this place is run by people who genuinely love what they do. Master Kong will always be a part of my Portland travel tradition from now on. ❤️

Not to mention it's incredibly affordable, cheaper than most food carts and restaurants in the area. HIGHLY recommend the jian bing and chinese style dumplings!

HA VL Vietnamese Noodle Soup is a modest Vietnamese restaurant known for its rotating daily soup offerings and banh mi sandwiches. Originally a sandwich shop, it has gained recognition for its diverse and flavorful soups, receiving praise from national food publications and renowned chefs. The owners, Ha Christina Luu and William Voung, are dedicated to creating small-batch regional Vietnamese soups using high-quality ingredients like free-range chicken and meticulously prepared broths.
Five star pho here, but come early. They were sold out of Pho by noon today. We got the last bowl + the tumeric noodle soup. Both were amazing.

First time I tried to come they were sold out of soup but I made it the 2nd time. Go early! I got the turmeric noodle soup on a Sunday and enjoyed how many different ingredients there were and how unique their pho options are. Make sure to check ahead of time which soups they are doing that day if you are picky!

Authentic vietnamese soup made with passion. I love their Mi Quang!!! For those who wonder why their is only 2 type of soups for each day is because they buy the ingredients fresh. Made daily for each type of soup. Other places add water and msg which dilute the soup to sell to you at the end of the day. Not at Ha VL. Prepping each soup does take time. Thats why they have limited menu. Once they sell out. Dont be disappointed. Just know they make quality soup not quantity.

Wonderful family run business with attentive staff, and really good food. My wife and I had the featured soup of the day and it was great. Wonderfully seasoned and lots of ingredients. We had enough to take some home for the following day.

DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!😋There's only two menu items available each day. I visited on Sunday and had a turmeric noodle soup. It was so good. I usually don’t finish broth, but this place is different. I finished all! When I was about to leave, the turmeric noodle soup was sold out. The staff was friendly :) So good. I'll definitely be back.

Absolutely delicious Chicken Curry Noodle soup, Bún Cari Gà. Best I've ever had in my life thus far. I can't wait to try Thursday's special, Shredded Chicken Noodle soup, Bún Thang and Friday's Chicken Pho, Phơ Gà. My mouth is watering just thinking about it 😋

Under the definition of "Mom and Pop Joint" in the dictionary comes HA &VL Vietnamese Noodle Soup. It's right there along with Delicious Broth and Genuine Experiences. I had heard about this place and decided that after a great day at the yard sales I would investigate further. The parking is a challenging tight Tetris and I was so glad I wasn't driving the big ugly truck, but after a short wait, there was a shift and a few spaces opened up. The place only has a couple of items on the menu and it changes ever day. I will be honest and say that I wanted the Spicy Beef Noodle Soup but they had already run out and I had to get the Peppery Pork Ball Noodle Soup, which I would not have generally chosen... But at first sip I was sold. It was deep, warming, complex, good umami, and the pork balls and slices were a genuine good surprise. I did not care for the one fish ball that I found in the depths, but I get that it is a prized food in Asia, I'm just too stuck in my ways to appreciate it . I also get that the addition of fish to a broth adds to the flavor like a mysterious magic elixir, a hard lesson for most western cooks. The place is a treasure. The staff were friendly and welcoming even though there was a substantial language barrier. That, for me makes the place that much more attractive. Like I have been welcomed into their world, on their terms, to experience their authentic food. I love the fact that instead of offering 50 items, they just offer two trusted items a day and if you start to explore their food, you will have you favorite days. I would bet that they know to some extent who will show up on which days. To the general white American these places can be semi visible back drops for the area that never enter into their minds as even a possibility, but that is a huge mistake! It is places like this that can show how much of a family we all are. Where it's natural to sit with diverse families in fellowship and get on with the important business of good food served by kind people.

Kenny's Noodle House is a delightful gem that embraces the essence of traditional Cantonese cuisine without overwhelming diners with an extensive menu. This cozy eatery specializes in classic noodle dishes, ensuring each plate is crafted to perfection and evokes the comforting flavors reminiscent of home-cooked meals. With offerings like jook, youtiao, beef brisket, and wonton noodles, it feels like stepping into a family-run restaurant where every dish tells a story.
Kenny's Noodle house is a fantastic place to enjoy authentic Cantonese noodles & wontons. They prefer you use cash but will still accept card. Three large and filling bowls will cost you $45~55 (without tip) and feed 3-4 people easily. They have lots of options and ample parking. They offer complimentary hot tea but also have a delicious homemade soy milk that can be served hot or cold. The soymilk is on the sweeter side so for those who like a less sweet one I would steer away from it. We ordered their braised beef brisket, shrimp wonton + noodles, & shrimp dumplings. We did not try their veggie appetizers but I am sure they are also very good too.
Kellen M — Google review
Finally, right amount of food rather than give you a huge amount of food and make you fat! Just kidding but yes, right amount of food and the taste is really good for me, as Cantonese. I think their noodle texture is nice. I already come back this place couple times!
Jay C — Google review
Authentic and Delicious! I really like the food at Kenny’s Noodle House. The congee is comforting and flavorful, especially the salted pork with preserved egg—one of the best I’ve had. The wonton noodle soup is also excellent—fresh, tasty, and satisfying. This place feels like a true hidden gem. The environment is cozy and reminds me of a classic Cantonese eatery. Service is fast, and prices are reasonable. Definitely one of my favorite spots for authentic Chinese comfort food in Portland!

Kenny’s is the best spot for authentic soups, congee & other traditional Chinese/Hong Kong style delights. I’ve been coming here for well over a decade. The beef brisket wonton soup (add extra wontons) is out of this world! The chili oil they provide is the perfect compliment. You can chose from several different noodles, too, which is awesome! So thankful Kenny’s is still thriving as it’s truly an old school gem in the hood…
Ryan S — Google review
I come here for the steamed pork liver, not the charm! I’ve been coming here on and off since 2016, mostly for one reason: the steamed pork liver. I haven’t written a review until now because honestly, I don’t think they care either way, and that’s kind of the vibe: take it or leave it. They’ve been around long enough to know their niche, and they’re not bending over backward for stars. Here’s what keeps me coming back: - You can order a side of steamed pork liver, kidney, stomach, or beef tripe. I enjoy mine just as is or with whatever else I’m craving. - It’s one of the few places in Portland that still offers these specific cuts done in a traditional way. The not-so-great stuff: - Chinese donuts are hit or miss—sometimes crunchy, sometimes stale. - Wonton noodle soup disappointed last visit. The noodles had such a strong yeasty smell I could barely eat them. Their wontons are whole-shrimp style (not minced), which might be how they’ve always done it and I just forgot. - Service is nearly non-existent, so don’t expect warm hospitality. Last time I went, the lady asked “no tip?” before I even finished paying in cash. My receipt wasn’t in English either. It’s a tiny space, tables packed tightly together so prepare to wait or get cozy with strangers during peak hours. Parking: They do have a lot, but use caution pulling in/out from SE Powell. Overall: You come here for the specific dishes that are hard to find elsewhere. If you can stomach the attitude and uneven food quality, it’s still a niche gem, just know what you’re walking into.

1st great food and is beyond delicious, staff is nice and quick too, but the place is a little crowded i love the place and food but I don't see anymore culture behind it anymore, people no longer have the patience and understanding, but i love this place the only thing I don't like is the place set up not much space, but the food just hits the spot. Highly recommend it.

Wei Wei - A Taste of Taiwan is a small, intimate Taiwanese restaurant located in the Sellwood neighborhood of Portland. Specializing in handmade dumplings and noodles, the menu features various favorites such as pan-fried dumplings stuffed generously with tender minced pork that melts in your mouth. There is limited indoor seating during weekend lunch hours, but the outdoor area is perfect for a warm summer day. We highly recommend checking out Weiwei - A Taste of Taiwan when in town!
I've eaten a lot of Taiwanese food, mostly in Chicago, and absolutely loved my meal here. I had the scallion pancakes, cucumber salad and beef noodle soup. Everything was delicious. The cucumber salad wasn't the taste I'm used to but still very good. The beef is the soup was generous. And the grandmas who work there were so friendly! 谢谢奶奶

We ordered three drinks, and one of them was supposed to be with less ice. When it arrived, the cup with less ice was noticeably lower in volume about a finger’s width less than the others. When we asked the staff, she simply said, “That’s because you asked for less ice.” However, she never mentioned this when we placed the order. This feels like a scam! We also ordered Taiwanese cabbage, popcorn chicken, pan-fried dumplings, sesame noodles, and beef noodle soup (forgot to take a picture). 1. Honestly, it didn’t taste like real Taiwanese cabbage. The texture was tough and bitter, which was very disappointing. 2. Popcorn chicken: The flavor was okay, but most of what I ate was just batter. There was barely any meat inside. 3. Sesame noodles: Lacked flavor, and the noodles were overcooked and mushy. 4. Beef noodle soup: The broth was good, but both the beef and noodles were disappointing. Overall, I was very disappointed with both the food and the service. I will not be coming back.

My fiancé and I absolutely love this place! We first discovered it a few years ago and recently decided to visit again—once again, we were not disappointed. We used to go more often when we lived closer, but even now, it’s well worth the drive. We’re big fans of the beef noodle soup—it’s packed with flavor, always fresh, and comes with a generous amount of beef. The shrimp wonton soup is another favorite, with rich broth and wontons that are loaded with meat. We also tried the salt and pepper chicken, which is some of the best we’ve had. It’s perfectly tender with just the right amount of crunch. (Highly recommend adding some hot chili oil if you love spice!) Honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. The owners are incredibly efficient, and the food comes out fast, which is always a plus. The restaurant itself is small but has a warm, homey atmosphere. Definitely a must-visit spot!

I'd come back for the baos alone - sooo good. The crab rangoons were delicious as well. The spring pancakes (not pictured) were a little oily and the chicken plate (not pictured) was alright, but the baos and rangoons were my favorite! Service was quick considering there was one server and the atmosphere was chill with lots of natural light.
Kate B — Google review
📍Pan-fried soup dumplings were perfectly crispy on the bottom and juicy inside — be careful, they’re hot and bursting with soup! 📍Gua bao (pork belly bun) was melt-in-your-mouth tender, topped with crushed peanuts and cilantro — just like the ones from night markets. 📍Beef noodle soup had a rich, savory broth, hand-pulled noodles with a perfect bite, and tender chunks of beef. Total comfort food. 📍Scallion pancake was golden, flaky, and satisfying with or without the dipping sauce. 📍Braised pork rice (lu rou fan) hit all the right notes — savory, slightly sweet, and oh-so comforting. The space is cozy and casual, with a friendly vibe that makes you feel like you’re back home. If you’re craving Taiwanese comfort food, this is the spot. Period.

Ichiza Kitchen, now closed, was a delightful gem nestled in Portland's Concordia neighborhood, celebrated for its innovative vegan offerings. This cozy and modern eatery specialized in Asian-inspired comfort food that catered to both vegans and vegetarians alike. Their standout dish, the Ichiza Noodle Soup, featured rice noodles paired with a rich broth crafted from 13 medicinal herbs and spices—an experience that rivaled traditional ramen.
Known of this little gem for sometime though finally made time to visit. It did not disappoint. The portions were perfect, the flavor and taste of the dishes was exquisite and the bunny shaped buns were top notch. Highly suggested for any vegan let alone foodie wanting to try some amazingness. Already planning another visit. Thank you Cyrus! It Was AMAZING!!

This place is absolutely fantastic. It's small, like maybe 30 seats and 5 tables. But the food and service is delivered with such an incredible touch! The tea pouring was a 3 minute demonstration and a magical experience. The food was beautiful - served like a work of art! I've been at fine dining restaurants that could learn from Ichiza Kitchen. The employees all have a cool Portland punk look to them and they are literally the nicest, most amazing people I have ever met. Everything is vegan. As a meat eater, I forgot until someone reminded me at the end! This is one of those restaurants that you just tell everyone about.

The entire experience was fantastic! It was great to have such great quality tea. And the butterfly pea flower lemonade was a fun and delicious drink as well. All of the food was incredible, and the seasonings and flavors were fresh and unique. I will definitely be back. 10/10 would recommend to Queen of England.

What a great experience. We must have come at a good time because the wait was not there for us. My girl and I got seated and helped right away. The menu is really short and to the point (which is what a good menu really should be) with a good array of options. The food itself was really good! I'm not vegan, but my girlfriend is. the adobo chicken was actually really good and as an omnivore, I'd eat it again. Even though the "chicken" was fake, I loved it. Their vegan bacon and shrimp... Eh. I'd pass if you aren't vegan. Their prices are pretty high though, so keep that in mind. The setting was great; it is in a converted house so you can still see the roof where they laid the plywood. Pretty neat. Overall a positive experience! Oh and you can eat the orchid! That's really a new one for me.

I. Just. Ate. Art. The food is absolutely beautiful, incredibly delicious, and the portions are generous (a rare trifecta!) so we were able to share and sample various dishes. Intimate seating indoors, and some outdoor seating available as well. This place is a gem with just absolutely sweet, lovely people making food from the heart. My partner didn't even realize it was vegan till we were talking about it afterwards 😂 It's that good. Go there before there's a line so long you can't get in anymore. 😉

We loved everything we had! My husband's first favorite vegan place (hubby is vegetarian and I'm eat everything diet). The teas (Butterfly Peas and Chrysanthemum), Ramen, Gyoza, Dumplings, Soup, Sake and everything was great. The service was very friendly and knowledgeable too. Only downside is you have to wait for food, about 20min (for 7-8 diff food). This is a wonderful tiny restaurant, highly recommended.
Bokot B — Google review
Truely some of the most well thought out food in Portland, executed perfectly. Having been here twice, I can say that each visit was as delicious as it was unique. This restaurant is truely curated with a care that few places even scratch the surface of. It is small inside, as should be expected of something with this much intentionality behind it, so don't expect rushed service or large restaurant attitude. 10/10
A K — Google review
I had such high hopes for this place. I can overlook the wierd structure for seating and doing the waiting list. Unfortunately the food was 90% plating and lacked in flavor. We tasted almost every small plate and the chili oil wontons were the only thing that tasted good. One of the unfortunate dangers of vegan food is that textures and flavors can start to blend together. In this case much of the fillings were monotone flavored mush. I like vegetarian and vegan food, but this missed the mark. The plating was gorgeous. However, I couldn't honestly recommend this place. Luckily the pricing was fair, so I didn't feel too out of pocket.

Nestled in a charming peach-colored craftsman home on Division Street, Van Hanh Restaurant offers a delightful escape into the world of vegan and vegetarian Vietnamese cuisine. Founded by a Buddhist nun in 2005, this unique eatery operates with a nonprofit philosophy, serving up flavorful dishes that are both spiritually nourishing and satisfying. The menu features an array of well-crafted meals, including their signature barbecue pork belly noodle dish made with house-made faux pork and fresh vegetables.
I love a restaurant where you know you're safe to eat anything on the menu, and Van Hahn always delivers. Every time I come back I try something different and it's all always delicious!

The food here tasted good but they had Lee Kum Kee Hoisin Sauce on the tables which is not vegan as it has Red 40 in it which is quite a massive oversight for a place purport themselves to be vegan, such that is so disconcerting that you question if the ingredients being used in the kitchen are actually vegan. I wish I had noticed the Hoisin Sauce before I ordered, I would have elected to patronize an actual vegan restaurant.

Food is delicious. The soup, banh mi and steamed bun were great. Service is fast and friendly. For those sensitive to noise, there is a continuous dinging that seems like its coming from the security system? Its not loud but I found it annoying. Otherwise highly recommended.

I cannot wait to try everything on this menu. The food was stellar. We shared a bahn mi for an appetizer and I had the lemongrass tofu and my partner had the vegan pork belly. Everything was so flavorful and it's so cool that it's also all vegan. I am so excited to go back and try more dishes at this excellent restaurant.

Great spot I have been wanting to try for some time. They are remodeling and their menu is limited right now, but I had the Papaya Salad and orange chicken and both were delicious. The texture of the "chicken" was tasty and loved the real orange zest. Also like that that they make their own protein. They know what they are doing. Generous portions are given, which means I took half the salad home for lunch tomorrow :-) Staff were friendly and the ingredients tasted fresh. Can't wait to come back and try other items.

Vegan "ham" bao and tofu fried rice were excellent! Rich almond cookies will melt in your mouth. It was a takeout order placed online, ready on time, friendly service.

Amazing vegetarian Vietnamese food. I've tried almost every dish and their Buddha bowl is the best thing I've had there. It's crispy bean curd (similar to tofu) skin mixed with cold crispy greens and noodles. Once you start taking a bite, it's hard to stop. Second fav dish there is their bun hue (spicy noodle soup). When you get the bowl, rip the basil into it and squeeze the lime to help it complete the flavor.

These ARE the best garlic noodles in the city. Neigh- the world! Jeff knows what he’s doing and the love is apparent in his food. The sauce that comes with the tofu is the cherry on top.

So I do intermittent fasting and I basically only eat one meal a day. I wanted to wait until Saturday to try this, but I couldn’t wait anymore and I tried it for the first time. I was there a little after lunchtime so the guy working who I’m assuming was the owner was really cool. I asked him about the differences between the two dishes and I ended up getting the fried chicken with garlic noodles. Mild cause I really don’t do spicy even though it is not an instant food that comes out itt is worth the wait. Everything was really good. Chicken was crispy and cooked well and the presentation was amazing. I’ll be back again to try another dish over rice. Whatever sauce he uses or makes it in is really good. Buy his food now you will not regret it

I just happened to be in the neighborhood and decided to try Mama Chows. I’ve heard so much about it and was very excited. The chicken wings were the most amazing, most perfect food! The hot & tender meat and lightly battered exterior made them a joy to eat. The light five spice flavor just popped. Wow what a treat. Garlic Spicy noodles were perfect and guess what perfect cold the next day too! The wontons were just phenomenal. 1000/10

You cannot go wrong with any of it!!

They say they are offering food to people with EBT cards that are hungry. Why the EBT is shutdown. I'm a senior and I am disabled barely can walk. And had hardly eaten in two days. I was hungry so I went there. They said there would be a half hour wait. Waited patiently for about 2 hours. Went up to the window just asked if I could use the restroom. The cook ask me why I was standing there. In front of a lot of people and embarrassed me. I’ve never had to ask anybody for handouts before. Told me to go stand out front and wait longer. Waiting about another 20 minutes more. Why sitting there I watched people donate money to the EBT cause. And they wanted to take their pictures of them donating. So I left and went to Laughing Planet on Belmont. They help me out right away. And was very nice. So if you are donating money. Donated to Laughing Planet or Mikiko Mochi Donuts on 28th or Miristata 24th and Belmont. They help me out with food while I was hungry with no hassle. Miristata told me to come back any time to get food if I’m hungry. It has be very hard for me to ask for help. I appreciate the people that have been helping me through these hard times.

The food was awesome. They had a few special sauces they delivered that I had never had before, plus classic delicious green salsa. The atmosphere was really cool and interesting and the service was all smiles and good vibes. Plus their mint slushy was to die for!!!

100/10 WOULD RECOMMEND!!! They make homemade tortillas which are so yummy! I had the barbacoa taco & frijoles con queso taco, both which were delicious! The vibes are immaculate with the queer art and the music you can’t help but dance to while eating 😆 They give you a red sauce when you get your food that they don’t have at the self serve station, it’s the perfect spice/tang that kinda creeps up 😍👌🏼The atmosphere is so welcoming, somewhere I’d feel comfortable practicing my Spanish!

I love this spot! There are no misses. I came for brunch and had the chilaquiles. The presentation was amazing! They open up the take out box as you watch it all drop. Lots of sauce and crispy chips. The food was good but the service was even better. This is a safe space for everyone.

Some of the best tacos I've had so far. They have 20 different types of tacos that are about 5 bucks each. I had Barbacoa Jalisco style, Buche and Adabado tacos. Chips & salsa ($5) and a Mango Agua Fresca drink ($5). The tacos are each fantastic with has it's own distinct flavor. I really enjoyed the texture of the Jalisco style but the Adabado was my favorite. The mango drink was a perfect pairing. I like the chips but the salsa was just ok. I like their hot sauces better. But at $5 I will just have another taco instead. I should mention that they play EDM and it's loud enough you have to speak up a bit to be heard. But I was able to resist the urge to jump up and salsa dance. Taquería Los Puñales is my new high watermark for tacos. Check out my profile for more great eateries and craft cocktail bars. ✌🏼

Fast service and incredible tacos. You can tell a lot of love and care went into the ingredients. There’s nothing better than sitting outside eating these tacos on a beautiful summer evening.

We don't spend too much time in SE but heard about this place and had to check it out! Glad we did. Delicious tacos with a large variety to choose from. Homemade tortillas make a big difference! That said, they aren't necessarily cheap as a result (4.50-5.50 per taco, which is unfortunately standard for nicer tacos these days). Quality costs, though. 😌 The mango margarita that we got was also quite good - not too sweet, which I appreciated. Will likely come back to try more of the tacos on the menu! Side note: seating was interesting as they're super strict about sitting at specific tables if your party isn't big enough. You need to order before you sit anyway, so the person helping with your order will likely guide you to your table either way 👍🏽

Food was amazing! I swear it was like 3 minutes between sitting down and getting our food. 20 types of tacos on the menu, and affordable at $4.50 -$5.50 per taco. The service was really, really great. Plus, the queer art was awesome. Highly recommend.

Hands down our favorite taco place in greater Portland area. They extra stand out for being dog friendly. They often have a water bowls for fur babies. Staff is helpful and friendly. Ample outdoor seating and indoor. Love the ambiance. Feels eclectic and more authentic to feeling like we are dining south of the border. Food is top notch. Haven’t had a taco here that isn’t divine. Yum

Wa Kitchen Kuu is a Japanese restaurant specializing in udon and soba noodles, which are both delicious. The food is served at lunch and brunch, and the service is excellent.
Wa Kitchen Kuu offers a very welcoming experience and a tasty menu. The food is absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. Everything is made fresh and is very satisfying. I always enjoy the fresh tasting food they serve. The staff here is very kind, courteous, and professional and they greet you when you arrive with a smile and provide you with top notch quality service for a wonderful experience. The sushi here is amazing. When in downtown Portland be sure to stop by and enjoy a terrific lunch or dinner. You won’t be disappointed.

Absolutely delicious. Everything we had was so good, from the Salmon Zukushi, to the Spicy Beef Noodle, to the salad which was a Tuna special that day. Tried the Lucky Cat beer, which was interesting... I'm a big fan of Helles Lagers, and this was a white ale. 6/10 for the beer, 10/10 for the food.

Great Japanese grill and sushi, friendly staff, nice decor. This was our first time here and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. We had their tuna salad, special, seaweed salad, mackerel, and salmon colors, and a salmon avo hand roll. This is the best Japanese food we’ve found in Portland so far. We’re coming back!

Awesome place to go. Chill vibe and amazing food!!! Portions are small but the taste makes up for it. You HAVE to get the pork gyoza and their spicy tuna hand roll, best I’ve ever had hands down.

This place was great! Would love to come back. Everything we tried, the veggie gyoza, the kimchi, the salmon skin hand roll, the Udon dinner, and a specialty roll was delicious! Apparently there’s also sister restaurants throughout Portland. Who knew?

My friend and I came into their restaurant like 30 minutes before they closed for dinner service, so I was very thankful they served us because oh my gosh. It was so so good. I got the summer meal set and the salmon avocado hand roll, and my friend got the veggie roll and veggie gyoza. We had such a great experience from the food to the service. Definitely come here if you’re craving a true Japanese experience!

Fast food restaurant
Khao Moo Dang is a cozy eatery that opened in 2019, offering outstanding Thai-style wonton soups with soft egg noodles, crispy pork belly, five-spice pork loin, yu-choy, and a soft-boiled egg in various broth options. The Ba-Mhee Tom Yum soup is a favorite, featuring spicy hot and sour broth topped with crushed peanuts.
Definitely worth the hype. Visited this place after seeing someone go here on YT, and I'm glad I did. Their pork is super crunchy but still juicy, and the broth is rich and full of flavor. We even ordered extra noodles just to savor the broth as we had extra leftover! The inside is a little small, so there's limited seating, but they have an outside portion that has more tables available, so that's nice.

This is a great little Thai spot serving up tasty food and drinks in a cozy, inviting space. The interior is compact but vibrant, with a small open kitchen and bar that makes you feel part of the action and adding to the atmosphere. The menu is focused, featuring a selection of rice and noodle dishes, mostly with pork or vegan-friendly tofu options. Every dish we tried was absolutely delicious, flavourful and fresh. The staff were friendly and helpful, making the whole experience feel warm and welcoming. Bonus points for the air-conditioned outdoor seating area, perfect for warmer days. A spot we’ll definitely be coming back to!

Authentic Thai street food (I’m told) in a very basic setting. But I think that’s the point —- and anyway, the food is amazing. Just don’t come here expecting anything fancy. Order at the counter and hope there’s a table available to place your spicy pork loin dish on. Yes, the menu is very pork-heavy but there are also some good veggie options. My Tofu Noodle Curry for example, was the bomb. Subtle spice with some nice crunchy greens. Plenty of garlic. Ohhh mannnnnn There is an outdoor seating area, one of those parklets, on the street, that they’ve enclosed and actually added A/C to, so that’s neat… even if you’re sitting in a shed. It’s where we parked our butts and we actually thought it fit the whole street-food vibe pretty well, so no complaints there.

So yummy!! Does get quite busy during dinner hours but we still managed to get seating. My boyfriend and I ate there three times while we were in town and will be back when we visit again! Bonus their $3 Thai tea, honestly best I’ve had! + their bottled ginger beer (yummy)!

Been here 4 times now and each time I’ve been very happy with my choice. Their noodle and curry dishes have been delicious. Their crispy pork is to die for, absolutely obsessed with it and their curry!
Vince C — Google review
Got the dumpling soup with bone broth and pork belly... SO good. Also had a Thai iced tea, which was great and not too sweet. Dined with a group of 4, and there wasn't a bad dish on the table. No matter what you get, make sure it has the crispy pork belly on it. Such a nice contrast in texture with the tender dumplings. The dining room is small so I could see it filling up quickly, but no problem getting a table on a Wednesday evening. There was also plenty of covered, heated seating on the patio out front.

Absolutely loved this place! The flavors are so authentic, it instantly reminded me of being in Thailand. Every dish was fresh, perfectly balanced with spices, and packed with flavor. The service was warm and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. Definitely my go-to spot when I’m craving real Thai food! Thanks for making this feels like home

Baka Umai is a top-notch ramen spot that offers traditional yet slightly twisted ramen dishes. The Mala Miso, in particular, stands out with its diverse flavor profiles and tangy umami mushrooms. The proteins are perfectly cooked and the veggies are thoughtfully prepared for the right texture. The broth is rich and delightful to slurp. Customers highly recommend trying the flavorful broth, egg, and noodles at this place as they find it to be a great meal.
I wanted Ramen and I heard this place was good. When I got there I discovered that they had brothless Ramen which I had never tried before. I ordered the Umami Mazemen, it had the house smoked salmon, capers, peppers and other veggies. The noodles were made just right and had a good amount of thickness. All the flavors came together perfectly. It was delicious! You will love this place. I can’t wait to come back and try the other dishes. I’ll have the ramen next time. There’s someone in the kitchen who’s creative and cares about well made Japanese food ~ you can taste it. Order sake, so good!

We're thrilled to discover a great ramen place in SE. Before this discovery we'd trek out to Beaverton. No longer! We ordered the traditional Shio and the Gyokai Tonkotsu both were delicious in their own way. The broth was rich and the dish was nicely balanced. The ramen came out fast and the kitchen really hustles. They live up to their name, the food is Delicious!
Shawn S — Google review
I haven't been the big ramen fan in my family, but that situation may not last. Our family paid a visit, knowing that I would be thrilled with the katsu chicken on their menu. Everyone else at the table had different ramen varieties, and the samples I tried of my wife's choice had me thinking about a return visit to try their signature dishes. Baku Umai is a casual space in a relatively new building, so the ambiance here is laid back, with splashes of local basketball and landmarks as decoration. Patrons order at the counter, and tables are well stocked with all the spoons, chopsticks, napkins, and anything else you're likely to need.

My main thing is I wish there was more vegetables but that's a personal issue for me. Midori mazemen ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨ - really good but think I liked the red silk tonkotsu ever so slightly more - it was a dry noodle which I expected but I think the ramen hits the spot more - love the pears - wish it was spicier - very creamy, can't taste much shellfish - definitely need to mix it to get the full effect Red silk tonkatsu ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - felt like there was a flavor missing, turned out it was the egg - egg is cooked perfectly - love the mushrooms - not super spicy Habanero tonkotsu ⭐⭐⭐✨ - not spicy at all - wouldn't order again, just ok tho - upper part of mild, could taste underneath Cho maz ⭐⭐⭐⭐ - full meal, but don't feel full - whole grain noodles though which I appreciate --- drinks --- Hot green tea ⭐⭐✨ - just ok - microwaved, could taste it, the mug was also super hot compared to the actual tea Blended coconut ⭐⭐⭐ - it's good if it's what you're looking for - not overly sweet - but not 100% for me, just the tiniest bit sweeter than what I like

Didn’t expect much but came out so impressed. Been to Japan multiple times and to different cities trying different types of ramen. This one holds up to some of the best of em… seriously. My wife and I were craving spicy ramen and this really hit the spot. Noodles are so well made! And although the habanero mash doesn’t taste like traditional ramen it provides a great kick!
Won-Ki S — Google review
I went solo, ordered, and found a seat immediately. They had quite a few ramen options and I tried their chorizo-men, which was a pork broth mixed with tan tan sauce and chorizo bits for roughly $20. It was pretty good. Service was good, nothing to knock there. Overall, good experience and good food, but also not something special for me. Worth trying though as this spot clearly resonates with others!

This place was amazing! The noodles are made in house and you can definitely tell because they are unbeatable. There are lots of interchangeable vegetarian and non vegetarian options, and people in my party had high ratings for both. We all got the ghost pepper ramen (veg and not), and it was definitely super spicy and very delicious.

Steak house
Bar
Clyde's Prime Rib Restaurant and Bar is a classic steakhouse in Portland that takes you back to the 1960s with its nostalgic ambiance, red-velvet booths, and live music. It's the perfect spot for a birthday dinner or a special occasion. The restaurant is known for its hearty prime rib carved tableside, along with classic steakhouse sides like creamed spinach, wedge salads, and shrimp cocktail.
What an amazingly great retro dining experience at Clyde's Prime Rib! The minute you walk into Clyde's , you are transported back to the "Rat Pack" days of club dining . From the suit of armor at the hostess stand ( jibes with the faux castle exterior architecture ) to chandeliers to the red mood light in the lounge, the vibes at Clyde's are just perfect! We sat in the lounges and were waited on by the personable and knowledgeable Elia ( sp??). I ordered the hanger steak and my dining partner ordered the prime rib. Elia recommended the Caesar salad and the creamed spinach. We were not disappointed. Everything was great starting with the garlicky Caesar salad and the cheesy ,creamy spinach. The hanger steak was perfectly cooked medium rare as was the delicious prime rib. The prices were reasonable and a good value for the food quality , service and ambiance. Final take ----Highly recommended for all of the above. Fedoras are optional🤣🤣🤣🤣.

Clyde’s is a staple in the NE Portland area. The lounge has a great retro feel and often has great live music. I ate in the dining room side this time. The rack of lamb was delicious. We did wait a bit for our server to come to the table, but he apologized and the rest of the service was great. Everyone at our table enjoyed the food and overall the experience.
John W — Google review
A classic worth trying! After a 15 mile long hike, a prime rib steak was definitely a treat. Also ordered a the lobster Mac and cheese and certainly could not pass up the French onion soup. In the bar area, there was a live band performing Sunday night (a night before Labor Day). It was a nostalgic experience with traditional meals.
Evelyn B — Google review
My partner and I ordered the prime rib, medium well and it was so burnt on the outside, it was inedible. We were able to eat about half of our steaks. The veggies and mash were delicious! When I brought this up to our server, she said that the way they cook it (on the flattop), it comes out that way. I didn’t even care that much that it was not cooked to medium well, it was the fact that the outside was so burnt. If the steak is going to come out well done anyway, I would’ve liked to have known. She did offer a remake, which was appreciated. We have been here countless times before and NEVER had a bad experience. The food and service is typically excellent. Maybe 11am was a bad time to go.
P S — Google review
The lamb and prime rib was good perfectly cooked the broccoli was saturated in oil and very salty but the Garlic mashed potato were heaven to me my spouse not so much. Unfortunately the brussel sprouts were inedible, extremely salty and burnt. See attached photo. My take away is ask for things not to have salt added. In the photo with the broccoli on the napkins I blotted the broccoli on the napkin twice and it was still unable to be eaten because of all the butter-oil on it. Response to the Owner: My intent is never to make someone's decision for them but give a little heads up. 1 star because a lot of the food was inedible and also $85 for lunch we can't justify going back. As for not mentioning it. The entire plate of food going back & not wanting togo boxes was definitely a huge clue :)

Good food, fun atmosphere. Lounge is a throwback to the 70s and 80s. My boss had the lamb chops and said they were excellent. The salmon was good. Service is quick. Parking is moderate, but concrete needs some repair.

I had an amazing dinner date at Clyde's, my first visit. Wonderful dining room, terrific staff! My prime rib was just awesome. To top it off MissVee in the lounge made for a great night. See you soon.

It was a last minute decision to dine at Clyde's, so we wound up at a table in the lounge. Considering how busy it was, the service was good, and the server was very friendly and professional. It took a while to get the beverages served, but the food came very promptly. We all liked what we ordered, three 10 oz prime ribs, and one prime rib salad. Everybody had their meat served to their liking. We ordered the house salad split for two, and it was very good.

Top Burmese is a hub for delicious Burmese food. They have vegan and non-vegan options, as well as variations of common dishes. Try the Coconut Rice with tofu, Gin Thoke salad, Nan Gyi Thoke, and Oh No Khao Soi.
Our experience at Top Burmese was great. Our waitress was kind, helpful and answered all our questions. The menu has a lot of unique items with a lot of vegetarian options too. We tried the Burmese chicken curry with paratha, Ohno Khao Soi (noodles), Fried Tofu and Burmese cake for dessert. Everything tasted great and we had a great time dining there. The only thing to consider is that the food is quite heavy on oil and butter so if that is a concern I would encourage you to speak with the staff to see if other options are available.
Raunak M — Google review
Stumbled upon this place and kept coming back for the killer flavors. Tried more of a tasting menu this last trip so I could have a range of options. The fermented tea salad is still hands down the best salad I’ve ever had. The curry got my 4 stars. I was wildly disappointed in the consistency, texture and lack of flavor. The place is quaint, cozy and fills up quickly. Don’t eat outside if it’s cold, the heaters only work on the top of your head. Service is attentive, sweet.
Caitlin G — Google review
After hearing that Top Burmese was ranked in the top 50 independent restaurants in a magazine, I was super stoked to check it out. It was also a quick walk from our Airbnb so even better! I will start off with saying that our service was impeccable. I forgot the name of our server but she was on top of everything, had great suggestions, and overall made sure we had a great time there. Kudos to her! The food left a lot to be desired. The Nangyi noodles were very soft as opposed to a nice chewy texture that we’ve had at other Burmese restaurants. The flavor overall was a bit bland as well. The lamb dish (I forgot exactly what it is called and it is not listed on the menu online) was very tasty with a good portion of lamb. It reminded me of a non-spicy lamb vindaloo. No complaints there. The green tea leaf salad was very tasty especially considering it has no protein in it. I think it would fit better as a shared dish as opposed to an entree. The prices were definitely a bit on the steeper side but I didn’t feel like it was overpriced. The indoor seating is a bit quaint but there is also outdoor seating if the weather is nice!
David C — Google review
My super smoking hot girlfriend and I stopped by for a date night and I am glad we did. The staff took good care of us and was able to get us seated next door. Outdoor seating is open as well. We had the paratha which was fluffy and dipped well in the veggie and bean dips provided. Finally we had the pick three curry option. And I couldn’t say which one liked most. They were all so good in different ways. We did the chicken, beef, and coconut tofu curries. Would highly recommend giving them a try.
Trent W — Google review
Clearly labeled and tasty vegan/vegetarian dishes. For starters, we ordered the Gold Samosas stuffed with potatoes, carrots, and peas. My friend recommended the Khao Soup Coconut Noodle Soup. Very tasty. The coconut curry broth is served on the side. Highly recommended. This is a small restaurant so be prepared, it can get noisy. Watch your head as you leave, the door is abnormally short.
Kurt A — Google review
I think this food is done well... The ramen thing was really good! We didn't know this was a mostly vegetarian type place. I do believe they have some chicken or lamb in a cpl of their items. We almost walked out because I was unaware of what I got us into. Once we saw the menu we almost made a run for it, but the hostess was too quick! So I made a decision to try the ramen thing and I'm glad I did! For a Burmese menu, I believe this place does it with the best of what it offers with a touch of class.
Nic H — Google review
I’m writing this review as a Burmese person. First of all, the food here is not authentic, which I could accept if there was at least some effort to maintain the original flavours or blend them thoughtfully with local tastes. We ordered Shan Noodles, and while they used pho noodles, which are somewhat similar, that part was acceptable. However, the rest of the dish—the vegetables, sauce, spices, and overall flavour profile—was far off. It simply did not taste like Shan noodles. As for the Nan Gyi Thoke, the noodles were soggy and completely wrong—not even close to the real thing. I understand we’re not in Burma, but dried Nan Gyi noodles are available in the U.S. There’s no need to use udon noodles, and if they must, they should at least use a higher quality version. Also, one of the most essential ingredients in Nan Gyi Thoke is roasted chickpea powder, which adds a nutty, creamy texture—and it was completely missing. The taste was okay, but not accurate. The fried Burmese tofu was actually good, but the sauce served with it might not suit local taste buds, so they should consider offering alternative dipping options. The tofu itself tasted fine, but the presentation was poor. The pieces were cut so roughly, they looked like leftovers. Even street food vendors in Burma cut their tofu more neatly. The service was okay—nothing special. And considering the food is not cheap, the quality, authenticity, and taste should definitely be better.

The flavors of this restaurant are extraordinary. The fish was fresh can I explain each option to you. The presentation was amazing along with the colors in flavors. I did the blue fin tuna sampler B, and it comes with the soup and a salad that has amazing fresh fish in it along with edamame and prawns for dessert. I decided to try some sake for the server suggestion and the flavors match beautifully to my dinner. I would definitely recommend this place. No wait on a Tuesday evening.

The food was all fresh and excellently prepared. Service was also excellent. Finally, the space was comfortable, bright, spacious, and attractive. I'll let the pictures do the talking about the food. It was all good. Though, the least favorite item was the sushi roll. Maybe too much going on there. Simpler items shined brightly! Highly recommend this if you're looking for high quality and good value. (Not cheap, but reasonable for the level of quality and the overall experience.)
Jeff W — Google review
I give it 4 stars because the food carries more weight in my view. The service was a bit of a disappointment. Friendly, yes, but when they ask me if I want a second beer halfway through my meal and then bring it to me almost 15 minutes later after my dishes have already been cleared away, I don’t think that is very good service. I didn’t want my beer for dessert, I wanted it with my meal. Would I return? For me, that is always the bottom line. I’ll say yes. I’ll just know from now on to order the second bees when I’m halfway through the first. The food was very good. Just shy of excellent, but still very good. This was the happy hour special. These dishes were all $6 except for one which was $7.

I'm a Washington resident but I'm making this a go-to when I come up here. I've tried a lot of sushi restaurants but this one REALLY stands out. I can’t believe this place exists. Wow. Portland is so lucky. Incredible, high quality sushi with prices that make no sense. Hana is an angel and made me feel at home. Do not order the Salmon salad, it tasted like the green equivalent of Tylenol. I’m not sure what was in the sauce they used but the bitterness and strong tangy flavor left in your mouth made every bite worse. Do not order it. The rest of the dishes were pretty good, but the disappointment from the salad ruined the experience.

I’ve been coming here for years. Hands down the best sushi in the area, maybe the entire PNW. Every time I try a new sushi spot it’s a huge let down knowing I could have gone to Bluefin Tuna and Sushi. They have all the unique menu items; toro, uni, you name it. Complementing their stellar sandwiches are soups that have garnered quite the buzz among locals—think comforting white bean or invigorating carrot ginger soup.
wow delicious! I stopped in first time and got a bit overwhelmed by the huge menu that I decided to come back another time. Glad I did. I really wanted a ham and gruyère baguette but they were sold out of ham. Instead I got a turkey, brie, cucumber and crème fraîche baguette and a cup of white bean soup. (gf) Both were very tasty. Then I noticed they have a paté sandwich, know I know what i’m coming back for! Bread and quality of ingredients is top notch, really nice. The lady on the cash register is super nice also. I wish I worked downtown more often!

I've probably had 30-40 sandwiches here at this point, the service is great and the specials are always worth giving a try. It's not going to be the cheapest lunch you've ever eaten, but sometimes having a sandwich that can border on transcendent might be worth a buck or two. Order ahead online, try the soup, eat it in the sunshine.

$18 for a bowl of soup and a roll. $18 for a bowl of soup and a roll. $16 plus like an idiot I add a 2 buck tip. Bummer. Silly experience. I’m much happier giving my money to the suffering folks wandering the streets. I tried to question what the hell was going on but I got nowhere so I’ll just kvetch comfortably from my kitchen table

Turkey & Brie wasn't anything special. The Brie was nice, but the turkey was very dry and baguette was a little tougher than usual. It could have used salted butter to make it pop. Otherwise, the small sandwich shop vibe was nice, and I enjoyed the sides. I'll definitely be back to try some of the more interesting options and revise my review.

Addy’s is my favorite downtown work lunch spot. Friendly service, comes out quick. Honestly I’ve always walked right in and ordered the special salad. Can’t go wrong!

Staff is very friendly and the service is fairly quick. I called in to place my order (you can't order online unfortunately). The place doesn't have seating that I saw of and it was pretty crowded. That said, their service is fairly quick. Their menu is huge and they have a wide variety of things to pick from. I got myself the soup of the day (carrot Ginger soup) and the power Salad. I found the food quite tasty. The Power Salad gives you some options to pick. Mine was chick pea salad + hard boiled egg + avocado + quinoa, kale and carrot on a vinaigrette dressing. Very sumptuous and nutritious. For the portion though, I found it a bit on the pricey side and hence one less star than 5.
Navin S — Google review
Prices were reasonable. Not very much meat on the sandwiches but at least they are a decent size. The chicken pesto panini was a lot of pesto and not a lot of chicken. That said, the flavors are good and the bread is amazing.

If you're gonna take up space in another person's neighborhood you need to be open long enough to provide people who actually live downtown full-time and gainful employment. Being open less than 25 hours a week is a joke. You are actively participating in the gentrification of one of the last safe neighborhoods for BIPOC Portlanders. Your branding is hypocritical and disgusting. Very few people of color patronize this business and it's for a reason. Progressive signs are hollow when they're in the window of a business that is pushing BIPOC out for their own benefit. Don't support gentrifiers if you want Portland to be a lively MULTICULTURAL community.

Chinese restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Portland, Jin Jin Deli is a charming little eatery that packs a punch with its vibrant flavors and diverse menu. This family-owned gem offers an array of delicious dishes inspired by both Chinese and Vietnamese cuisines, making it a perfect spot for food lovers. Diners rave about the steamed dumplings, which are crafted with care and bursting with flavor, as well as the spicy sate dry tossed beef noodle that brings an exciting twist to traditional fare.
03/04/17: 4.5 out of 5 - It's a small eatery with big flavors. There's been some added items to the menu and a few more family members helping out. Although it's been a long while, the food and service is still good to go. If not sure what order in this Asian eatery don't fret. There are menus with pictures. So try this eatery once and decide for yourself. Enjoy! 12/2015: Family owned and operated, this place has a such a great variety that it's a great place for everyone and anyone. The place is simple, reasonably priced, has pictured menus for easy ordering, tasty foods and the people are friendly. You can eat in, get it to go or just call it in. Just be weary of the shared parking; it can be a bit tight. Otherwise, this place is a great eatery in SE Portland.

Friendly staff and yummy foods. Highly recommend

Consistently made dishes. Good portions and food comes out piping hot. Complimentary tea and water. Our go to dishes are the fried flour cakes, sate noodles, and kimchi or salted fried rice varieties.

Food was good, but I would not call this place veg friendly. They have a veg section of their menu, but I ordered a vegan meal and fout small bits of beef in my food. I trust that it wasnt the waiters fault because I asked if the meal was vegetarian about 10 times. He comped the meal which was nice. Also the others in my group loved it.

We dine here a few times over the past two years. There is a posted sign at the counter for No Contactless Payment. We did not ask for specific since we paid cash. It's a small family owned. Menu is posted on the wall above each table, and they also bring it to the table for you. Hot tea is complementary. Service is alright. I have been here a few times by myself and with friends; beside brought our order to the table, they didn't check in on us at all after that. It offers various comfort Chinese, Cambodian, and Vietnamese dishes, which rarely find elsewhere. Overall food quality is average. The liver comes with Hu Tieu Trieu Chau is often overcooked and tiny portion. Most of their soup are on the sweeter side for taste. I only come here whenever I crave Bon Chien/Pan Fried Rice Cake; it's not that great since they never make it crunchy and crispy enough for me even though I always ask for it. It is my comfort street food whenever I miss Vietnam.

Seriously the best single plate food in all Portland for asian flavors! A regular go-to dish for me is the Com Sate Bo, and for dine-in it’s served in a clay pot and the egg on top comes out sizzling!!! Service is always on point and the food never fails.

Great place for noodles. They have some interesting teochow style dishes not found in other places. Pretty casual and fast service. Also do catering.

We only ordered a couple of things but, wow, they were fantastic! The steamed dumplings were carefully and deliciously made, complex, and delicate. The spicy sate dry tossed beef noodle was complex and spicy, unlike anything I'd had before. I got there at 10:30 and the place was already packed with a line out the door. I think this will become a regular stop when I'm in Portland!

Restaurant
Sunshine Noodles is a relaxed establishment with an outdoor seating area and a kitchen that is visible to guests, serving delightful Cambodian comfort food and cocktails. Situated in the northwest part of Portland on Raleigh Street, this eatery offers a delectable selection of dishes inspired by the East. Their starters include items like Egg Roll Spring Roll, Lime Pepper Wings, Chili Jam Prawn Cocktail, and Crunch Jicama Salad.
We went to Sunshine Noodles for a fun date night out. Loved the food and the vibe from when they were on Mississippi St. and were excited to see their new location. We ordered the lime pepper wings, which were so juicy and full of flavor, we inhaled them immediately. I had ordered the steak vermicelli bowl that was definitely a winner, the meat just melted in your mouth. My girlfriend ordered the beef noodle stew and it equally did not disappoint with its entirety filled with a variety of flavor and spice. The cocktails were on point as well and we ended up staying longer to work our way through a few of on the list. Overall fun night out. Highly recommend!

Tried this place for the first time after coming from forest park. The food was solid and the folks were very friendly. The clam noodles were delicious ( kinda hoped for a little more noodle), the noodles in first bolognese was a bit too hard to chew but the chef noticed and whipped up a new plate for us. Would definitely recommend.

Oh man… where to begin?! Portland has great food but Sunshine is next level. We had a party of four and everything we ordered was amazing. The wings are great, so tasty. I had the Loc Lad and a friend has the phenom on pen. Not sure what everyone else ordered but everyone was so impressed. I’m still thinking about my food it was so good. Drink wise we had fun exploring the cocktails made by our awesome and helpful bartender. Delicious. Great beer selection too. Clean restroom, nice vibe and clientele. Portland has good and then it has SUNSHINE NOODLES. Another great shining star above our already awesome food.

I love trying new places. I liked the detail and the thought to making this restaurant more than a tasty meal! I smiled when I sat down to the table and saw soup spoons decorated with cats. I loved my cocktail with a square ice cube with cat face, not to mention the taste of my poht fashioned drink. We shared the Lime Chicken Wings which were crispy and beautifully spiced. I had the Beef Noodle Soup which was jalapeño spicy and savory. The noodles were great and the carrots and beef were very tender. The service was excellent. I am ready to return to try some of the other dishes.

Everything here was pretty good. The wings were a little too sour for my taste. The catfish spring rolls could use more crunch. The Cod Curry was a little disappointing (was expecting pieces of cod but they got shredded), but I liked the Jungle Bolognese. I like that they have outdoor seating so you can bring your doggi!

4.5 stars. Overall food was delicious. I loved Lort Cha and the wings… very flavorful. Phnom Penh noodle tasted a little funny for me but my husband liked it. I definitely appreciate the unique flavor, not just a typical wonton noodle. Friendly service. Staff was accommodating. We ordered pick up but they let us dine in.

Fun date night spot for sure. Food was really good as were the drinks. We didn’t have the best service from the staff and honestly the chefs in the open kitchen were the nicest people in there. Really cool space, a bit pricey but that’s the neighborhood I guess. Looking forward to visiting again tho.

AMAZING Super fun staff that can answer any questions about the menu. We tried a delicious tequila that was infused with fruit, so good! The greens & prawns were perfect appetizers to share along with a noodle dinner as entrée👌🏽 Great date night spot or even for a group. Will be back!💗
