Such a cute cafe with a sweet couple and delicious pies! I love how they stayed up and put the cozy place together. Just really lovely and heartwarming experience you could have. Some of their pies are seasonal and I got lucky that I got to taste my fav lemon pie that’s made with the lemons from the lemon tree in front of the cafe.
If you wanna go for drinks at night, they are currently open for Saturday nights only but you might wanna call them and make sure. Very welcoming and laidback owner would let you know their availability.
Apparently they’re famous for their chocolate cake so I’m gonna try that next time!

Lovely cafe with a really quaint vibe. They even grow their own lemons and use it in the drinks! We also had the strawberry shortcake and banofee pie which was delicious. The gentlemen who was serving us was also really friendly and we would definitely recommend popping by!
I happened to found this super cute cafe when i explore Ito. A must visit cafe when you come to Ito. Who can resist this cute dessert. It's not just cute but also delicious. I love the Atmosphere. It's so relaxing. The owner was very nice 😭🙏 I'd like to visit again when i go to Ito.

Real stuck-up cafe.
I strongly warn potential customers, especially groups, to avoid this cafe at all costs. Our experience as first-time customers was shockingly unwelcoming and steeped in pure arrogance.
When we asked about seating for a group, we were met with clear reluctance. The real shock came when they laid down their "rules." We were explicitly told that each and every one of us of us was required to order a drink. No exceptions.
Let's be perfectly clear: the issue isn't necessarily with a policy—it's the hostile, "stuck-up" attitude that accompanied it. We weren't greeted; we were given a mandate. We felt like a problem to be managed, not customers to be welcomed.
It simply does not matter how good the drinks or food might be (we'll never know), because the bitter taste of such poor service and arrogant attitude ruins everything

We went in because we wanted to try their chocolate cakes. Once we were seated and ordered, we were forced to order two drinks as well. I asked to order just one drink, because I came specifically for the chocolate cake, but the owner rejected it and told me I had to order two drinks. So I ordered two drinks I didn't want to drink, that were both much more expensive than the brownie. Then the brownie came, size of my thumb, and it wasn't even that good. All in all, 2000 yen gone. Typical tourist scam.

The Teddy Bear Museum is a must-visit spot if you're a fan of teddy bears and stuffed animals. The museum has a wide variety of bears, including some from as early as 1904, and exhibits on how these toys are made. It's usually not too crowded, making it an ideal place to spend some time alone or with friends.
Cutest museum ever! The place was super cute and cozy, the teddy bears were surprisingly very interesting and the Totoro exposition was perfect, they had a workshop where you can make your own teddy bear but you have to check the times before! I missed the workshop by 5 min 😭, but either way the expo was super fun to look at!

The museum is so cute, it has a good mix of actual history on teddy bears and then unique/cute ones. Some amazing displays as well and a build a bear style workshop. There is also a really good selection of Ghibli items and scenes. Plenty of photo opportunities and they have a great bakery with some really cool cookies and sweets. Unfortunately I didn’t get to their tea room in enough time to try anything but the menu looks good.
If you love teddy bears or plushies in general this is a great museum! There are many vintage and rare bears and the displays on the first floor are very detailed, interesting and cute! The top floor has a Totoro exhibition when I visited and there is also a workshop where you can make your own teddy bear. The highlight for me was seeing the vintage bears and also the garden cafe was very cute. You can have tea with a teddy and there’s also a small couch for a plushie you brought or bought to sit with you while you enjoy the cafe too!
This was a delight, plenty of Toto for Ghibli fans, cute cafe where a teddy is sat waiting for you, pudding was delicious, brownie tiny but quite dark chocolate. Lots of photo oops too.
If you want to build a Totoro check timings for the workshops, think there was 3 a day. There's two gifts shops, the first upstairs then down to the next one.
Really good quality gifts, reasonably priced.
Very pleasant way to spend a couple of hours on Izu, especially on a rainy day.
Three teenagers all enjoyed it.
Book months in advance if you want to participate in the teddy bear making workshop! We took our chances and got lucky with a last second cancellation but I wouldn't count on that!
The museum is cute and interesting!
a must go if you are into cute toys. it is cute that many people love teddy bears enough to make a museum for it. you get to see teddy bear exhibitions + a whole section for totoro. entry is 200yen cheaper if you present your mount omuro chairlift ticket to the cashier. there’s also a teddy bear making workshop but unfortunately i didn’t participate. there’s also a souvenir shop with various cartoon characters and a baked goods shop. i spent around 30-45 minutes here in total. a small museum but still very interesting and cute!
Fantastic little Muesum full of plushies much older than this little guy. Many of the Teddies have names and history which is quite fun to read. And the floor above is a fun little Ghibli plushie exhibit, great for fun photos.

We loved the gardens and the shop! You need to make a reservation to build your own Totoro, but that was a big highlight for our daughters. Well worth the price for a cousin stuffed toy.

Le-feuillage bakery is a charming café with an enchanting garden that offers a delectable selection of pastries, sandwiches, and French-style baguettes. It is renowned for serving some of the finest bread in Japan, surpassing even the quality found in France. The serene and tranquil atmosphere of the garden adds to the overall experience.
This is the best bakery in the area. Real French-style bread. The portions are small compared to France but the taste is just right. People who think the bread is bland clearly don’t know how to eat bread. It’s like saying rice is bland… anyway, highly recommended!! Also a lovely area.

The place is beautiful. It feels like a hidden gem, but there was a line. We didn’t have to wait too long though. I had the BLT on focaccia which was quite good, but I think it would be better if the bread was toasted or warmed up a bit.
The bakery and products are all 5 stars. Highly recommended. But as the bakery is in the middle of an expat area with also lots of tourists, I recommend adding product names in English or even French in the labels. Just a small suggestion to an otherwise excellent bakery
This little bakery completely surprised me. I went there for breakfast and honestly, I’ve rarely had bread this fresh, flavorful, and full of character. Not because it was heavily seasoned, but because the ingredients were special and so well chosen. I had a paprika bread, a chocolate croissant, and a sweet plum pastry with pistachios, along with a café latte and everything was absolutely delicious. I left genuinely happy.
The service was wonderful, and the selection was impressive, especially considering how small the village is. Everything smelled amazing and tasted freshly made. The ambience was beautiful, a bright, natural space with a winter garden view, surrounded by nature. It was peaceful, calm, and just lovely.

Delicious cafe and bakery located with a scenic woods backdrop. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating to enjoy the delicious bread products! They have a few parking spots right in front and then a lot more down the hill.
Amazing little bakery looking into the forest, had several types but the crescent moon shaped blue cheese bread was by far the most mindblowing bread ever. There was also parking just beside the bakery- went at 1045am and thankfully there was a lot available.
One of the best bread you can have in Japan. Feels even better than in France. Also, the garden is amazingly quiet and peaceful.
Have to say though, that after coming back several times, they could improve the waiting process and the stock availability. During holiday season, you can expect that they run out of most items 30min after the opening.
Way too popular for a bakery, but that's what you get when you plant a fancy French-looking name on a very pretty house in the middle of almost nowhere and fill it with some really good bread and pastry. A pity the terrace seats weren't available because of the rain.

If we could give more stars we would. This business is owned by the kindest people. The food is excellent. We had really wanted to try Japanese pancakes and the hot cakes here are excellent. Ok, this is the best place to eat breakfast in Ito. Totally awesome breakfast. Superb vanilla ice cream with everything. Hot cakes come with flan and soft serve cone. And they play 1950s-60s rock-n-roll music. Oh, and for the younger customer, books to read including Where’s Waldo in Japanese. A/c too. And free WiFi. All in all, phenomenal.

Kenny's House Cafe Izukogen offers a unique blend of Japanese and Western cuisine, surpassing expectations with its delicious food. We got to this area after 15:30 so we were walking around starving 😂 because didn’t really have an opportunity to have lunch during our journey from Kyoto and all restaurants and cafes were closed. After our helpless trying to grab something we thank god came across this place! It was open and we had very nice hot dogs, expecting nothing. Bread was fluffy and fresh and sausage very meaty. The price was a little expensive for the food portions but if you are looking for a decent hamburger then it might be worth a visit. For some of the inside seating you have to take off your shoes. The restaurant only has corn broth salad dressing. The one thing that I really did enjoy and recommend was the onion rings!!!

Excuse my lack of baking vernacular but the bread selection was amazing. I got a loaf of bread that was actually a croissant loaf and gosh did it taste amazing. I did get other types of breads but I do not remember which ones but they were all great!
I also dined in and had spaghetti. The dine in experience came with a sampler of some of their bread. I had some sort of carbonara spaghetti and that was the best darned spaghetti I've ever had! My girlfriend got this Basel and something spaghetti which looked really plain but after I took a bite of that, it too was extremely tasty. Better than what I've had in New York (where I'm from)

This bakery and restaurant is located just a few minutes walk from Ito Station. We arrived right at opening, so not many bread products were out yet. However, we loved everything that we purchased.
People there are friendly. Services is excellent. We like their bread and pastry. The spaghetti tastes great. For sure, we will visit them again next time when we travel to Ito.

As a home-brewer visiting from Whistler, Canada, I was especially grateful for how welcoming and generous the owner was. He went above and beyond to chat with me about brewing and even took the time to give me a tour of his setup, which was a real treat and something I’ll always remember.
The whole experience felt personal and genuine. The atmosphere of the bar is relaxed and inviting — you can really feel the passion behind it all.
A huge thank-you again to Brian for the hospitality. Joynt Brewing ended up being a top highlight of our 3-week trip, and I’d recommend it to anyone interested in great beer and lovely people.

Hidden germ in the countryside. While all restaurants appeared to be opening in google map, only this shop really opened.
Run by a chef and an old lady, the restaurant had an unexpected amount of guests. There were set menu, curry, pasta, pizza and dessert.
Ordered a assorted seafood set 魚介盛り合わせセット (two sauces available, one was creamy fish sauce, one is sour fish sauce) and a daily service set 日替えサ-ビスセット.
Salad was fresh. The miso soup was with mushroom and clams, it had strong seafood flavour.
Main was made with heart. The seafood set offered fresh fish slices, scallop and pawn, and the creamy sauce blended well with seafood. The pawn and scallop were chewy. The pork set has a mustard sauce that probably was self blended by chef. The pork was in good texture and juicy, and the sauce carried the meat’s freshness out. Side dishes (veggies) are okay.
Ordered bread (you can order rice) to be served with main. The bread was fluffy and chewy.
Drinks were hot red tea and coffee.
