Very nice traditional Japanese sweets place situated inside a bamboo forest. The place may be a bit hard to find especially if you are arriving by foot. The shiruko and dorayaki both tasted very good and a must try. The amazake had a very unique and refreshing taste too.

I walk to this shop. It's seems middle of nowhere but amazing surroundings by bamboos and trees very Japanese nature. Shop creat such a nice ambience for customers! Sweets are excellent and tea is perfect ( you can ask refills for free of charge) good experience.

Personally I don’t think it worth the time to line up to enjoy the tea or sweets. The queue is slow and a waste of time. Spend your time and money elsewhere.

Beautiful setting. Arguably the best sakura mochi I ever had. But rediculous queue, more than 1 hour wait despite arriving literally 5 minutes after opening. Some items sold out in first 15 minutes. And stupid system where most of the cafe tables were empty during that hour of waiting but they make you line up anyway (to make it look more popular?) You have to clean up your own table too, which is unexpected at this price point

It’s a beautiful place for traditional Japanese sweets and desserts. Love the little stroll before reaching the cafe which is calm and peaceful on the day I visited. Not too crowded but with only Japanese crowd. I love the Sakura matcha mochi. Take note that goggle map bring us to the location of the office behind. If coming by car or bus please park at the big carpark which we can see along the main road

Cozy Japanese-style or green-tea dedicated cafe with traditional Japanese sweets. Located near Gotemba outlet mall and next to Kishi Residence. Able to enjoy drinking hot or cold green tea as you want with Japanese sweets.

The breakfast set is quite standard and nothing particularly surprising. However, the à la carte wide noodles were noticeably better in quality compared to the set menu. The place attracts many foreign customers, and the overall atmosphere is pleasant. That said, there was a puddle of water on the floor between our table and the bar counter, which staff did not address. Customers were stepping around it on their own, and it gave a rather uncomfortable impression. Considering the food quality and the price point, the value for money feels relatively low.

This place is awesome! Pancakes are fantastic, very fluffy and delish, great toppings and the rare cheese is really good. I had the blueberry, mixed berry, & caramel banana pancakes on separate days, you won't regret your choice on either of these. The side of bacon is high quality bacon and the scrambled eggs are fluffy and cooked perfectly. The Earl grey tea is great too.

Great fluffy pancakes with crisp edges. We preferred the mix berries pancake over the savoury breakfast set. You can approach the staff for the wifi password.

Best pancakes I've ever had! We are travelling from Australia and I had the banana pancakes and we shared the fried chicken. The fried chicken was very crispy but also juicy. The banana pancakes and a lovely crunchy caramelised crust on them and they were lovely!

Lovely pancake restaurant with alfresco dining area. Ordered the breakfast special and a banana chocolate pancake with coffee. The pancakes are nice but the coffee is a bit too foamy. Convenient to drive as they have around 10 spaces in their parking lot.

Loved this stop during my time in Hakone. The bakery had some many amazing options it was hard to choose - I went for a white chocolate and macadamia bread and a potato bread and both were excellent. I also got a matcha latte with oat milk, which was also excellent, albeit a little pricey (1400¥)! The staff were super friendly, and helpful for me they speak good English too. And the environment with quiet background music and a view over the lake were wonderful.

The café spans three floors, with the first floor being a bakery. I didn't try any of the baked goods, but they looked tasty. The third floor has a lovely view of the lake and is very peaceful. I had a soy latte which was decent, though the soy milk was a bit overpowering. Service was really high-quality and polite. Prices were high and reflected the location and quality of service.

Beautiful views from a nice bakery. The bakery downstairs has many breads to pick from. There are table on floor 2 and 3 where you can sit and enjoy a coffee with some breads from downstairs. Recommend the cheesecake and affogato. The chocolate cake was a little dry. Views of the lake and Peace Tori are great. And on a clear day you can see Mount Fuji.

Varieties of pastries ranging from sweet to savory! It’s a bit of a hustle to find a place to sit. As soon as you enter, you’ll find the bakery area, which is self-service (pick what you want with a tray), then proceed to pay (cash or card). However, there’s no seating on that floor—seating is available upstairs but you must order at least 1 drink . On the second floor and above, you can order drinks or coffee and, hopefully, find a place to sit and enjoy both your pastry from downstairs and your drink. Despite the hustle, we enjoyed what we ate and drank. And if you happen to find a place to sit upstairs,you will get the view of the lake.

We arrived late afternoon and the Bakery was essentially sold out, which was disappointing. We ended up on the 3rd floor, where the prices for coffee and matcha were excessively high. We should have sat in the 2nd floor, as the prices were more reasonable, which we noted on the way out. Views were spectacular, can’t fault that. But ultimately, not worth the money. Matcha latte was solid, but not amazing. Cheesecake was as expected. Not bad, not great

While this is common in Japan, it can sometimes affect the freshness. For example, my pain au chocolat was unfortunately quite hard, and it felt like it might not have been baked that morning. ☕ Café Seating & Drinks If you’d like to eat in, there’s a second floor where you can sit down as long as you order at least one drink per person. Just note that here they only offer regular milk—no dairy alternatives. I ordered a matcha latte, which came already sweetened (sugar is added by default), so it might be too sweet for some. 🧾 Ordering System You place your order at a vending-style machine, and they’ll call your number (printed on the receipt) when your order is ready. 🥄 Third Floor Option There’s also a third floor café with a slightly different menu—soy and oat milk are available there, but prices are noticeably higher. For example, the drip coffee costs almost twice as much, though it’s intended to be shared by two people, as kindly explained by the staff. 📝 Final Thoughts It’s a convenient stop with lovely views, and the staff were polite and helpful. Just keep in mind that the food and drinks might not match the level of the view, especially if you’ve tried other bakeries in Japan. Still, it can be a nice rest stop during your visit around the lake.

The bakery is right by the lake. Lots of options for bakery, and they all were tasty! The curry bread won the grand-prix award, so I tried it. It was tasty, but I was not so experienced with curry bread, so I couldn't tell if that was up to its name or not 😅

This is a bright and chic Italian restaurant by the lakeside. We had a pizza, a pasta dish, an appetizer and dessert. The service was efficient and the food was served quick and hot. I found the fried vegetables appetizer not so worthy but overall it was a good meal. They have a canine friendly area (separate room) where you can have your dog join you at the dining table. I'm sure pet lovers would love this place. If the "halal" mention attracts you, just know there are no halal meat options on the menu. This place is worth going to for a decent Italian meal.

Has both indoor and outdoor seating, large parties ok. Reservations preferred. Food was pretty good, decent portions. Prices are a bit high but not unexpected for a touristy area. Desserts were really good, especially the tiramisu and seasonal plum sorbet.

During my trip to Hakone, after a long day of tour, we were super hungry. we went to this restaurant for some italian pizza. Ended up late evening wirhout a reservation almost near to the closing hour but they were kind to let us in. The place was full house. Service staff were very polite and friendly. Ordered pizza and pasta. Both were served pretty fast. Pizza very flavourful and aromatic.. it was perfectly baked with juicy toppings. Definitely a must visit place if you are at Hakone.

Very good pizza place by the coast. Short opening time in the evening so make a reservation or get there early (as it opens is best). The pizza is good, Italian style and flavourful. They are generous with the toppings. The deserts are nice also but not quite gelato. The staff are pleasant as is expected in Japan, but there is a sense of rush which I think comes with having to deal with tourist groups daily.

So to be honest, the pizza was really good.It has a really good location right on the water.I'll say it again.The pizza was very good.Unfortunately, the prices are extremely high.Especially for japan, they are banking on tourists.And they are doing it because they can also because, for whatever reason, half the restaurants in the area close at five o'clock, even on a friday makes zero sense with how much money they could be making, I get it, they do what they can.But twenty one dollars for a pizza is outrageous. The waitstaff is really friendly.The service is great.The food is great, but the prices have to be lowered seven dollars for a super dry draft is way high.

We ordered the recommended Prosciutto Pizza along with a side of fried mozzarella bites. The pizza was delicious—we easily finished the whole thing between the two of us after a long day exploring Hakone. The mozzarella bites, however, were a bit disappointing as they arrived lukewarm; we would’ve preferred them hotter. Unfortunately, the service felt just as lukewarm. Overall, it was still an enjoyable meal, but if given the chance, I’d probably try a different restaurant next time.

We had dinner here and it was just about the only place open in the evening. The restaurant has a nice view of Lake Ashi and the ambience is modern and inviting. Service was very good from the staff who spoke English. We ordered pizzas and pasta. The pizza was soft and delicious. Prices were reasonable when considering the high quality of food. We had a good dinner here.

Toraya traditional Japanese Confectionery Nothing makes my husband happier than traditional Japanese sweets, and today he took me to the Toraya store in Gotenba. Seating is formal, though thankfully with chairs, overlooking a garden. I chose oshiruko with mochi, (sweet red bean soup with rice balls), served cold because summer is lingering, my husband ordered a mountain of shaved ice with matcha syrup. He asked if I knew about Toraya and happily informed me that Toraya was more important in Japanese culture than any of the temples of Kyoto and insisted that I google Toraya. ‘Toraya is Japanese sweets’ he said. I discovered that Toraya had been making confectionary for the Imperial court since the 1500s, first in Kyoto and then in Tokyo, when Tokyo became the new capital at the end of the Edo period. Now there are impressively 96 stores Japan-wide and their store in France is celebrating 45 years of operation. The processing factory is located in Gotenba and so there is an impressive range of sweets beautifully presented for gift giving. When I first came to Japan, I did not like red bean sweets, but in winter oshiruko is really sweet and warming and if it makes my husband that happy, it makes me happy too.

you can eat japanese traditional soft snack. e.g. yohkan, kuzukiri, monaka. it's great quality and taste. please try it!

A very pretty Japanese dessert place with very pretty if a bit expensive food. Very interesting. Has an English menu to help which i needed. They do not speak English so food was ordered with lots of finger pointing and charades. But a very nice experience.

A nice local ramen shop with a lot of options and a picture menu. The spicy ramen I ordered wasn't particularly spicy (how I like it) but the sides were delicious!

Very convenient place to eat inside Gotemba premium outlet. There's a self service counter as well which makes it easier to place orders. There's enough space for diners. I had their avocado chicken burger and it's messy good!!!

Not a fan of burgers but I had to go in this restaurant because it was sooo cold and I wasn’t interested in shopping here. Thus, I waited for my companions inside this warm place. I ordered hot drip coffee which was surprisingly good! It was served black and piping hot (just the way I like it). Milk and syrup sugar were available at the sides. The coffee was smelled and tasted strong(again, just as I like my coffee). This SS branch is spacious with kind, courteous service crew. There’s a self order kiosk or a counter for ordering-your choice. Maybe next time I will try their burgers.

When I took a bite of the ShackBurger, I immediately noticed the crispy edges and nice char. The Angus chicken was also tender and tasty. The toppings gave the patty some additional moisture, and the soft potato bun held everything together nicely. I liked that the bun was sturdy and had a delicate sweetness to it. I would definitely order this burger again.

It's just a let down that they close at the same time as the outlet park. I just hope they close a little later so that we would not have to rush to eat our meals.Still giving Shake Shack a 4 since the food and service are good.

The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere with well-designed interiors. The presentation of the dishes is appealing and thoughtfully done. However, the flavors didn’t quite resonate with me, particularly the soup, which, while thick in texture, felt lacking in taste. The service was adequate, though not especially memorable.

Just finishing lunch and wow. Many courses with a lot of food. I love most items and I was very impressed with the tuna. Ravioli, the pasta with oxtail, the chicken and pork entrees were all very good. The dip that had the anchovy paste was a little too strong. The fried fish and green beans were good too however I was eating at same time as the paste which was so strong I had to stop eating it so I could taste other items. Am incredible value for a wonderful Italian food lunch. Sadly the weather didn’t cooperate so no view of Mt. Fuji. They gave me a snapshot of the mountain peek so I could use it to imagine lol nice touch! Mishima mango and jelly with small amount of basil was so light and refreshing! Service was excellent. Sublime thoughtful and top notch truly everyone we dealt with from beginning to end! The dessert was an unusual combination with a contrast of sweet and vegetable green. Enjoyed it however it would not be my first choice. Overall this meal was amazing and I had the Fuji speedway hotel book me a few weeks ago. Enjoyed a glass of Spumonte with my lunch which I also enjoyed. They wowed us and we felt for the menu price and upgrades which were the chicken and oxtail pasta we for a terrific value. The piano player with love music was a wonderful addition. The total for 2 with a drink each, two upgrades with tax was ¥24860 which was a steal. I would suggest coming here and you will never go away hungry or disappointed. Main menu was ¥8000 plus tax so you can do it for less. I ordered what I wanted exactly and again can’t beat the value

Great place to enjoy a cup of coffee and read. For breakfast along with your coffee you get a free slice of toast with tour choice of a hard boiled egg, egg salad, or a bean paste. This is only before 11 a.m. They have some delicious sandwiches for lunch or dinner. The kids set meal give a nice variety of things for the kids to eat. The only thing negative is that there are no free coffee refills. Orders usually take some time to come to table because everything is made to order.

Stopped by Komeda’s Coffee in Gotemba and had a great time. I honestly have no idea what I ordered, but it was really nice and satisfying. The iced coffee was a little too intense for my taste, but it definitely did its job and kept me up. The place has a cozy, old-school charm that gives off serious comfort vibes. It’s a great spot to relax, especially if you’re looking to take a break from shopping or travel. These folks are generational vibe merchants for real.

Is it just me or 1 serving is already good for 2 people? We ordered a lot because we thought it wouldn't be enough for us, so we were surprised. Their bread is delicious I love it.

Spotted this on map. Only making a stop for the view if visibility of Fuji-san was good. No expectations whatsoever. Ordered the matcha latte and black coffee as weather was really chilly and windy. The matcha latte has depth. Then we ordered the wasabi mayo burger which are super juicy. The matcha and sakura cheese cake were so airy that this cafe joined one of the best dessert place we have had. There is indoor and outdoor terrace seating. Black coffee was 550¥ while matcha latte was 600¥. Highly recommended to pit stop for not only the view but the food and drinks! We wanted to go again next day for the burger and cheese cakes but the cafe is closed on Thursday.

Although it was cloudy weather and we didn’t have any glimpse of Mount Fuji but still views from the restaurant were great. We tried desserts and drinks only…the taste was good and service was great! QR order didn’t work so staff took the order and served.

Tasty food and perfect view to mount Fuji! The weather was perfect in May when we visited, we had a full view 😊 also: the bus stop is directly in front of the cafe. So it‘s easy to reach when you’re in Hakone and don’t have a rental car.

You can see a view of Mt. Fuji from the terrace seats. However, as other viewers said, the road in front of the cafe has a relatively huge traffic flow, so some customers would care about that. For many visitors, it's a good place where you can grab hamburgers and drink coffee with a nice mountain scenery.

Absolutely recommend for the incredible view of Mt Fuji. The Fuji tea was very tasty. Prices were a bit high.

It locates on the main road, easy to see. Car park is available. The cafe is new and clean, good service, kid-friendly. Behind the cafe, there is the walk-way to up high the hill, where you can see the good view.

I love the warm and bright minimalistic wood decor. The food was pretty good—they source Shizuoka beef for the burgers and presumably the roast beef entree. The service is impeccable. A bit on the pricey side, but overall a wonderful, inviting, and cozy cafe.

The owner and Chef Yusuke is a real one. This guy delivered the best meal I had in Japan. The ambience and overall experience was insanely good, and the value for money exceeds anything I had in Japan. What a treat, if you’re in this region, you must go!!

Exceptional place, with incredible service as well. Chef was willing to open for dinner an hour early for us to accommodate our travel plans, and was very friendly throughout the meal. Highly recommend the Kinki fish - a seasonal item for the winter which is well worth the (very reasonable) 1200 yen top up.

We had the full course tasting menu and trust me, you really don’t want to miss out on anything. You could say we are quite the foodies and we’ve eaten in a lot of restaurants all across the world (from best of the world to local ramen shops etc). We’ve entered this cosy Japanese restaurant and the service and hospitality is top notch, you take off your shoes upon entry which adds to the experience (as a western person I guess). We roughly had around 7 courses and they were all incredibly well balanced and super tasteful. The sashimi we had was arguably the best we’ve tasted in our lives so far (yes we’ve been to the Tokyo fish market and had dinner the day before at a Michelin star sushi restaurant in Tokyo) and we still think this sashimi was better. The photo’s will speak for itself, if you are anywhere near we would say it’s a must visit. Thank you so much Chef and wife for an incredible evening and experience!! Dōmo arigatōgozaimasu! ♥️ PS: the price quality ratio is amazing as well! (Not expensive at all with the current exchange rate)

We loved the 7 course menu chef Yuughen and his assistant Mikko prepared for us. (I’m sorry if the spelling of the names is not correct!) The combination of ingredients, flavors, textures was perfectly balanced throughout the meal. The tempura was the best I have ever had. The abalone and sea urchin appetizer was definitely the most intriguing dish for my palate. We thought that this restaurant was a real discovery for us. The price of the set menu is more than fair for the experience and for the actual choice of dishes that you can taste. The great thing is that both chef Yuughen and Mikko are fluent in English, so communication for us was easy. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Out of expectation, Yuzen is a nice japanese restaurant in Hakone. The shabu shabu and tempura were really tasty. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The bittersweet caramel complements the gently sweet ice cream, and a subtle hint of salt enhances the flavour. Price: ¥351 (including tax).

Unique flavours totally not seen in 7-11 or any supermarket. Cost yen 250. Relatively affordable

Had lunch here after shopping at Gotemba. Its located inside their foodcourt, they are known for their pancakes but I ordered their tuna bowl for lunch. It is okay but probably not in the list of the best Poke Bowl I had. It isn’t that cheap also for a solo order, though their servings are generous, one order could probably feed two.

Came in to Trerre, expecting a calm and peaceful place to read and enjoy a latte. Trerre delivered everything I wanted. The latte was excellent I got the raspberry mocha the beans syrups and mocha all paired well with each other and the cheesecake I got. The barista was also very talented with his latte art.

Really lovely cafe in Gotemba! We had a large party of 5 but the owner was amazingly able to accommodate us and our latte art requests. The coffee was great and I'll definitely visit again the next time I pass by the area.

I’ve passed by this place on my way to Hakone Shrine. We have tried different flavours of the ice cream sandwich, the matcha flavour tastes absolutely amazing! I’ve also ordered the honey butter ice cream soft serve, it tastes like salty butter beer which is so good. The signature biscuit is nice, really match with the ice cream (*´∇｀*) Appreciate the staffs a lot. There were around 10 customers in the shop by the time they almost close, they still served everyone friendly and with a smile!

We visited Gotemba Premium Outlets as the final stop of our Mount Fuji day-trip (we were visiting Tokyo). Although having an "American" like shopping experience in Japan wasn't really top of priority this was my encounter with San Grams Green Tea which this alone made the visit worth it. This San Grams is in the middle of the Gourmet Food hall which is elevated higher than any of the stores with an amazing view of Mount Fuji on a clear day. Seeing my Matcha powder be weighed and ground in front of me by the excellent Barista with a view of Mount Fuji is something I'll never forget. The hot matcha itself was dark, earthy and subtly sweet and miles ahead of anything I've had in Canada. Sipping on this match whole looking at the amazing view of Mount Fuji was a pinch me moment. The food hall itself is very well decorated and clean and elevated which is a great experience. The matcha itself was a bit pricey but I'm not too particular about that when on holiday.

I went over to check and it was open and had a hot dog on the menu which I ordered. It was fantastic, one of the best I've had in a long time and was the perfect light lunch to get me through my train ride. The dog tasted home-made, very fresh and super tasty so it was a very nice surprise such a nice dog in an out of the way place. I'd definitely go again next time I go to Gotemba.
