Front Beach in Vung Tau is a lively and bustling area with a compact stretch of sandy shoreline, boats dotting the waters, and a popular adjacent park and boardwalk. It offers a mix of natural beauty with mountains and rivers, as well as the activity of fishing boats docking after their day's work. The park area along the beach features shady rows of coconut trees where visitors can relax, connect with nature, and enjoy the refreshing sea breeze.
This is not a great beach because this area is a parking area for local fisherman ships, but it’s still a great spot to take a walk and chill.

Unique place in Vung Tau on the water. Beach is very nice but super small as far as beach going. However, would recommend to stop by and enjoy it as waters are calm and there is large swimming area to enjoy. Beach is connected with a park with lots benches , pretty close to food establishments, and there are showers available as well. Very nice place which gets busy in the afternoons with locals enjoying it and the water.
Michal B — Google review
Nice to walk during night time. Peacefull & full of sea atmosphere.
Mikael H — Google review
A quite nice beach that people can swim and have a walk along the hall. But keep the beach tidy and clean especially the plastic rubbish.
Thuha N — Google review
Nice for strolling around and catch the sunset.
Marion H — Google review
Front Beach is one of my favourite spots on Vung Tau Island. The French had a more romantic name for this idyllic small beach, Coconut Bay. Early mornings are special. Take your camera. The small fishing boats have returned from the night's fishing, and you will see the wives and family helping load the night's catch onto motorcycles, to rush them to the morning fish markets. Take plenty of photos, but do not get in the way. Evenings on the beach are more relaxed and Front Beach becomes the typical tropical beach. Fishermen slowly prepare for another night at sea. Once the sun has set, and most people have left, you might be lucky enough to watch the owl couple hunt on the waterline.
Paul R — Google review
Nice area with a quaint beach and green, clean park. Front Beach was significantly cleaner than Back Beach when I visited on February 10, 2024. If you also want to get away from the worst of the wind and waves, Front Beach sits back enough in a cove to not be nearly as affected as Back Beach is in those conditions. Very small sandy area at high tide but still several families out and enjoying it. The park around Front Beach is beautiful, spacious, and perfect for picnics.
Anna R — Google review
nothing much to do except sit there and look at the water, when i went it sea looked dirty and there is no sand, only rock. only some tree 🌳 and the ledge to sit. i see many people there at night but at night it is also so dark that i cant see anything 😁 if you want beach go south to valley beach, its good 🏖️

Historical landmark
Hải Đăng Vũng Tàu, also known as Vung Tau Lighthouse, is a popular sightseeing spot for tourists seeking stunning natural views. Located near Canh Ngam pier, it can be reached by either riding or walking along the mountain to enjoy the coastal city's picturesque scenery from above.
I recommend going early in the morning. You should be able to watch sunrise from here. Most people take a motorbike up but walked. It's a nice walk that isn't too strenuous. If you go a bit later you can take the temple park up the lower part of the mountain. Not sure if you can go into the lighthouse as I didn't check. Great view of the majority of Vung Tau from the top of the mountain.
Matt G — Google review
Other than you can see the city there is nothing else so please do not go there unless you have intention to watch Citi from the mountain, but for that you can go to White Palace, which is more nice place to visit rather than lighthouse. I don’t know why people go to light house because it’s so dirty nothing there not even clean a lot of construction happening, but there is zigzag road that you can enjoy plus there is also Chinese temple on the way, which is very nice and neat and clean that you can see.
Aamir M — Google review
It is definitely a MUST visit to have a bird-eye view of Vung Tau. Paid parking is available at the very top of the lighthouse and the best view point. You will not regret it. Strongly recommended to get a rental motor bike to get to the top of the lighthouse on the small mountain, as well as the big mountain on the opposite side of the bay

🏛 History & Architecture Built by the French in 1862, then rebuilt in 1913, and relocated to its current elevation of 170 m above sea level The tower stands 18 m tall, 3 m in diameter, painted in stark white (occasionally with a red band), and built in a Western cylindrical style 🌊 Purpose & Light Originally designed to guide ships entering the South China Sea and Saigon River delta. Today a powerful 500–1,500 W electric lamp, rotating via an electric motor at ~2.4–5 rpm, projects light up to 55–65 km at sea through a Fresnel prism system 🎡 Visiting Highlights Scenic Views & Atmosphere Offers 360° panoramas of Vũng Tàu's coastline, cityscape, Bai Trước (Front Beach), Bai Sau (Back Beach), and even the distant hills of Long Hải The climb up along tree-lined, winding roads is lush and photogenic—phoenix blooms and ancient porcelain trees beautify the ascent Cultural & Local Refreshments At the base, local vendors offer traditional snacks—do try the Yaourt Cô Tiên yogurt and a cup of coffee at nearby Son Dang Café, both local favorites There's no entry fee, though parking (when driving or riding) may incur a small fee (~5 000 VND), and spaces can fill quickly on weekends .
Paul P — Google review
Decommissioned lighthouse. You can't enter the lighthouse itself. You see it from outside. The panoramic views of the city is great from the place. Very peaceful to sit for hours, at least on the day I visited. Remains open in the evening as well. I recommend visiting around sunset, to experience the views in daylight and also in city lights. No tickets required.
Avilash G — Google review
The view is fantastic, and it’s definitely worth the time and money. However, there’s a catch: the taxi won’t accept your order to take you back to the hotel. So, you’ll have to ask the shops to send you to the hill foot, which costs 50,000 VND.
John L — Google review
one of Vietnam's oldest lighthouses, built by French in 1862. Located atop Small mountain and offer panoramic views of the city and surrounding waters. my favourite place for sunset.

Nice views. Can't go up inside it. 10k for motorcycle parking

Long Hai Beach, also known as Phuoc Hai Beach, is a serene coastal destination located near Vung Tau city in Vietnam. It offers a peaceful retreat with its wide sandy shores, clear waters, and stunning sunset views. The beach is dotted with small rocks and surrounded by whispering poplar trees, creating a picturesque setting for swimming and leisurely strolls. Visitors can also explore the rustic fishing villages nearby and indulge in various seafood offerings from local vendors.
Long Hai beach is the ideal oriented beach to the summer Monsoon winds. Between the months of June and mid September, winds come from W-NW direction. Long Hai beach it is shallow, very broad and quite long. Only during weekends the beach gets crowded, while during the week it is mostly to yourself
Kitesurfing V — Google review
Basically a locals only beach! Not a lot of foreign travelers here yet. Last time I came was 8 years ago and it was packed, this time basically empty. Can't say which I like more, the peace and quiet (you tune out the seafood sellers....which is part of the atmosphere) of an empty beach or the busy hussle of a booming beach with locals partying down drinking beer. It was a Wednesday so maybe it was just middle of the week lull. Either way I enjoy both busy parties or slow and relaxing so maybe time your visit for weekend or week day depending on your style. There was a small fish in season and fisher man were busy bringing their fish to the beach front "market". There was a tractor that hauls their little bathtub boats in and off the beach which was cool to watch. Shared a beer with one of the fisherman who was bringing his catch in. My kids loved it the sand, warm water and all the other kids to play with. The waves here are a LOT smaller than Vung Tau so great for kids and wind hits the beach at an angle and the current moves likewise. The selling gig (seafood, cabanas etc.) when you get there is a bit much but that's just part of the deal. Forieners by moped use paid parking for 10k per moped all day and don't lose your valet ticket, safe here. Feel free too BYOB, cups, snacks etc it will save you some serious money which you can use in the local seafood the ladies sell. I do miss that they used to cook right in front of you....I paid a lady to grill some of my one sun squid and I'm pretty sure she ate some...at least she enjoyed it! Weekday price was 400k for 8 chairs 4 tables and whole "tent".
The A — Google review
Normal beach with white soft sand. There were vendors offering sea food and drinks. The water was warm and quite clean, but in the sand was trash. There is also a shower area for 15k VND.
Sommy — Google review
It is more beautiful to more you reach the end of the beach in the corner southbound. There is a buddhist monastery there and once you passed that the beach gets more quiet and beautiful but that’s 1,5 km away. At the common beach area of the pictures it’s usually busy with visitors including people selling ice cream. Recommend to come to the beach at low tide!! High tide unrecommended.
Michael B — Google review
If you go to Long Hai Beach and spot this restaurant... Don’t just walk—RUN! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️💨 We ordered seafood and the owner instructed us grab a seat. Later, they billed us 100K/chair. Who in the world pays for a chair just to sit and eat at their own establishment? The fact that they did not let us know ahead of time that we were going to be charged for the chairs was very misleading and dishonest. Though seafood was overpriced, but the worst part was the attitude we received.
LeAnne W — Google review
Nice beach away from the touristy area! Lots of food options in Long Hai.

Specialty Museums
The Worldwide Arms Museum in Vung Tau, Vietnam is a remarkable private collection of military arms, uniforms, and paraphernalia from various historical periods and global regions. The museum showcases about 2,500 authentic artifacts from conflicts worldwide, including exhibits dedicated to the Vietnam War, French Colonial period, Chinese history, European wars, and Zulu warfare. British expat Robert Taylor spent 50 years amassing this extensive collection which forms the basis of the largest private weapons museum in Asia.
A very well presented museum of the history of military uniforms and weapons. One of the best I have ever seen. It was my second visit, and I still enjoy every moment. And I will definitely visit it again when I next visit Vung Tau. My favourite section is the Australian area. But to be honest I enjoy the whole museum.
Michaelm M — Google review
Absolutely gorgeous and priceless! This is by far the best and most satisfied museum I have ever been to nationwide. They offer a range of services beyond the tour around a museum built around a very intriguing concept, and the way they have a French colonial house as the front adds to the immersion. All in all a must-visit in Vũng Tàu
Khôi ( — Google review
Amazing collection and surprisingly cheap price. The place is very well taken care of. Staffs are happy and they work professionally. Thank yoy Mister Robert Taylor. Your work is very inspiring and meaningful. This should be a must-visit place if you are in Vung Tau.

A worth-visit museum in Vung Tau. The collection is stunning to see. There'a guide for each section, but I hope they speak slower and give guests more time for a closer look.
Salem S — Google review
My 9 year old son loved the world war 2 guns, I enjoyed the American civil war section and Vung Tau war photos. If you like military history, definitely visit!
Eric A — Google review
World of Arms Museum was an interesting excursion with a wide collection spanning many years. It would be great if they included more exhibits on major local conflicts. I would have especially loved more on the Vietnam War, similar to the experience at the Independence Palace tour in Siagon. Still worth a visit for history enthusiasts. A lot of great information to take in.
Fred M — Google review
Second time visiting this museum, the information and the collection is astonishing, thankfully the man who has collected all this is sharing it.

Back Beach, also known as Bai Sau, is a popular destination in Vung Tau known for its stunning landscape and clear blue waters. It offers a cleaner and more serene environment compared to the city's front beach, attracting both tourists and locals for swimming and relaxation. With its three-kilometer-long crescent of golden sand, shallow waters, and gentle waves suitable for all ages, visitors can enjoy various water activities or simply unwind on the shore.
Very much a local's family beach that comes alive late in the afternoons to stand around in the shallow water. Much beachside construction of modern design huge honeycomb type shelters. Also major winding pathway & roadway sidewalk paving.
Laird ( — Google review
About 2km of frontage under construction currently west end is clear and usable...dangerous rip currents here so going beyond waist deep is not recommended at this date and time
Stephen B — Google review
Vung Tau Back Beach – Tranquil Waves and Local Charm Located on the southeastern coast of Vietnam, Back Beach (Bãi Sau) in Vũng Tàu is a long stretch of golden sand that offers a refreshing, laid-back alternative to the country’s busier beach destinations. Known for its wide shoreline, gentle waves, and breezy atmosphere, Back Beach is the preferred spot for locals and returning visitors who appreciate its relaxed rhythm and everyday authenticity. The beach stretches for several kilometers along Thùy Vân Street, where you’ll find a mix of hotels, seafood restaurants, small cafés, and local markets. The vibe here is less about luxury and more about comfort, routine, and the simple joy of sand and sea. Mornings and late afternoons are especially vibrant, with families picnicking, children playing in the surf, and older locals practicing tai chi or flying kites. The sea is generally warm and inviting, with moderate waves ideal for swimming or light bodyboarding. Lifeguards are often present in more popular areas, and umbrellas and loungers are available for rent. While the midday sun can be intense, it’s the cooler hours—especially during sunset—when the beach comes alive with color and community. For photographers, Back Beach offers lovely natural light, sweeping coastal views, and a chance to capture real, everyday moments in a seaside town. For travelers, it’s a place to slow down, enjoy fresh seafood, sip Vietnamese iced coffee under a parasol, or stroll barefoot along the tide. While not a polished tourist hotspot, Vũng Tàu’s Back Beach has its own charm—genuine, friendly, and connected to local life. It’s a perfect destination for those seeking a peaceful coastal escape just a few hours from Ho Chi Minh City.
Paul P — Google review
Currently under massive construction. There are no restaurants or food, only a few vendors selling snacks and drinks. At the entrance are water closets and showers. The beach is very walkable, extending 2 kms to the right and several kms to the left. The waves are not large but there is a tremendous amount of garbage on the beach, especially at the high water mark. No efforts are made to clean the beach however after the construction is done next year I'm sure they'll send out cleanup crews. Sadly, there are also numerous tarballs on the beach from the oil rigs off the coast.
Arkk S — Google review
The sea view is acceptable, and it is the closest beach to Ho Chi Minh City. Both times I visited this place were for team-building activities. Next time, I should come here purely for sightseeing.

Had a wonder day trip to Vung Tau. Hope the beach (under construction and full of rubbish now) is open soon! This place is just a short trip from Ho Chi Minh City, is a lovely coastal escape! Our family really enjoyed the relaxed vibe. The beaches, especially Back Beach is well loved by locals, seems great for swimming and building sandcastles (but might not appeal to tourist) with gentle waves for the kids. We loved exploring the Christ the King statue, try climbing up for incredible views – quite a workout, but worth it! There are also plenty of delicious seafood spots. It's a wonderful blend of beach relaxation and interesting sights for everyone.

This place is definitely the place to grab a pint and some great burgers. Amazing veggie burgers as well, 2 options pineapple and Falafel. Recommend the PBB Sauce. Great craft beer selection along with a couple from Canada. Couple of “beauties”. Thanks for hosting us 3x’s!!!

This is by far one of the best burger joints in the world. The menu is fun. The food is cooked with passion and care. The staff are all young and fun. The secret sauce (spicy pineapple Mayo) is to die for. This is a must if you are in Vung Tau. It's worth a drive from Hanoi. I rarely take photos of what I eat, but the presentation was simple and beautiful. I love to complain and I had nothing to complain about. They even use eco-friendly straws.

Italian restaurant
Located in Vung Tau, Vietnam, David Pizzeria is a popular 2-floor restaurant offering a spacious and airy dining space with a sea view. The restaurant is known for serving authentic Italian dishes such as pasta with seafood, beefsteak, spaghetti with cream sauce, and an array of flavorful pizzas including Burrata, bolognese, Funghi Porcini, and Calzone.
I really enjoyed my visit to David Pizzeria. The young crew operating the table service were prompt efficient and friendly. They gave me service that was as good as anything that I have had in Vung Tau. The pizzas that we ordered were top quality. This place is a real winner in my opinion.

I usually don’t write reviews, but this experience was very disappointing. waited a long time for our order and eventually had to walk down and call the staff myself, We were a group of three, and they completely forgot my food. The pizza was okay, nothing special. the service I’m sorry, it has to be 1 star. Even though they apologized, the service absolutely needs improvement. The photo shows the full portion of chicken wings for VND 140,000 (minus one small piece). I waited almost 2 hours for this

Truly Italian Experience in Vietnam! Probably one of the most authentic Italian restaurants you can find in Vietnam. They even have limoncello, sambuca and grappa, I almost got emotional! 😂 The food is really delicious and the location is beautiful. It’s the kind of place where you can enjoy your meal peacefully, away from the usual daily noise. I honestly don’t understand the low ratings. The service, hospitality and food are all perfect. Highly recommended, and if I come back to Vung Tau I’ll definitely return here. Many thanks to Loan for her kindness and great recommendations. See you next time! ☺️

Every time I visit Vung Tau, I always stop by David Pizzeria — their pizza is amazing. The cozy two-floor layout offers a breezy upstairs veranda with AC (a perfect escape from the hotter ground-level sitting with just fans). The pizzas and pasta are about 200.000vnd, though coffee with a dessert can feel a bit pricey. It’s very quiet in here, no annoying music or anything. The sea view is amazing!! and authentic Italian vibes . Highly recommended! One of my favourite places I’ll always stop by.

Food is awesome. Best pizza I had. The passion fruit salmon is great too. Highly recommended if you are in the area.

We came by this place because of a social media review on oven roasted pizza, and it was absolutely delicious and worth the travel. We went all the way from Ho Chi Minh City to Vung Tau just to have a bite. The seafood pizza is spot on, and we definitely recommend the seafood pasta (the medium size pizza is good enough since it’s really packed).

This is my favourite Pizza place in Vung Tau. Whenever me and my family come to Vung tau this place is a must go as you walk along the beachside to uncover this pizza spot with the finest pizza and best desserts. The Bolognaise pizza is one of a kind must try must get pizza it will be the best pizza you will ever have in Vietnam as far as I’m concerned it is truly the BEST! Till I come back to Vietnam and especially Vung tau I’ll have to wait to taste perfection. I love this place!

Seafood restaurant
Gành Hào Seafood Restaurant is a popular dining spot in Vung Tau known for its delectable seafood offerings. Situated on Bai Dau beach, the restaurant provides a stunning ocean view, making it an ideal choice for groups seeking a satisfying meal at reasonable prices. With an extensive menu featuring fresh crab, prawn, and lobster dishes, Gành Hào offers a delightful culinary experience.
From the street has inviting facade. When we moped in to park, the gentleman managing security at the entrance was really nice. We’ve been here, however the walk down to the restaurant is still beautiful with the view. We arrived just at sunset and sat close the water for the full sound affect. The main course, my spouse says is the fried squid, it’s just fried squid. A crunch to every bite, simply squid but she says this is the best place! I got a fillet of sea bass bong long style, 3/5. Good but not the best cut of fish I had. Also got bitter melon with egg, my crave during this trip and simple and delicious. We also had clams in coconut and lemongrass broth. Clams were fresh, broth a bit sweet but still delicious, 4/5. Service was fast on taking order and bringing out food but did not periodically check, just how it’s done here from observation. All good, no issues, and had no issues when needed something. Hence not a 5*. But loving the view and overall experience with our meal!

Friendly staffs - from parking plots to waiters. The food selection is wide, and fresh seafood ingredients. Pricing is on the cheaper side, average $20 for one person (our group has 10 people - around $200). Recommend to seat near the beach, so you can enjoy the food, ocean waves, and feel the air better.
U.N. T — Google review
Decent fresh seafood at reasonable price. The abalone soup, soft self crabs was super delicious. However the snails was not really good that night. The restaurant is pretty spacious with nice view. Do recommend and will come back :)

Fresh, flavorful seafood right by the sea! Gành Hào is a must-visit in Vũng Tàu — everything from grilled prawns to crab curry is top-notch. Big portions, good prices, and great service. Plus, the ocean view makes it taste even better.
Bun C — Google review
The restaurant is huge and has a great open atmosphere. It's located right on the beach, so you can eat and look at the sea. There are plenty of staff members, and the food service is quick. The food is just average, nothing special.

Ganh Hao Seafood restaurant is one of the most popular places and local seafood restaurants in Vùng Tàu at the westside beach (Ba Day). They serve the best Mantis shrimp/prawns and Alaskan King Crabs. You have to come by and check out yourself. The seafood is fresh and live caught from the the container. You pick they cook. See pictures. Also crowds with local seafood lovers and visitor. It has oceanview in day time. Highly recommend for visitors. 🦞🐙🐠🦀

This restaurant is recommended by our company staff. The lobster is very delicious. It’s a popular place, so please make a reservation in advance if possible.
Dyke N — Google review
I think this place is trading on its tarnished reputation and has outgrown (it seems to have a lot of buildings its stretching across. They are making some strange choices, mixing in quality garlic and then filling it with how grade tasteless chinese garlic chunks. Vegetables were good, the king prawns were fresh, but the tasteless garlic layer really wad disappointing. Fish was so so. Bizarrely, the sotang they served had sat around a while (it was served almost immediately) and was rubbery and room temperature. Also curious, no bbq option for the prawns. We were also very concerned at their fresh fish floating upside down in the tank. They were alive (we checked), but looked like they were in distress.

Located in Ho Chi Minh, Dam Sen Water Park is a sprawling family-friendly entertainment complex that offers a wide range of activities for visitors of all ages. The park features 31 aquatic equipment, a 3000 m2 wave pool, and an array of water slides and thrilling rides. From calm attractions like the Wandering River and Wave Pool to high-adrenaline experiences such as the Kamikaze slide and Tornado river course, there's something for everyone.
the best water park of hcmc, better than Suoi Tien water park. At least 15 toboggan for adult, with crazy high and fast and scary ones... and 5 for kids. chairs and tables are good.
A S — Google review
Not the best water park I’ve ever visited but ok. It’s located in the city, easy to get there, it’s quite big and has enough slides. What I personally don’t like is that you have to pay for keeping your stuff each time you need your bags. It’s just 25,000 but anyway this is the first time I’ve experienced such a strange rule in the water park.👎🏽there is a food court, so if you’re hungry don’t worry you can find smth to eat and it’s cheap. In general, it’s ok just be careful on the slides, have fun and enjoy your time in Dam Sen Water Park🛝🌊
Валерия Х — Google review
We had a great time at Đầm Sen Water Park! The place is clean and well-maintained, with plenty of shaded areas to relax. The food court was convenient, and there were tables and chairs available for resting between activities. The pools were in good condition, and we felt safe thanks to the many lifeguards on duty. A fun and comfortable spot for a family day out!
Nga N — Google review
Great fun, slides are fast, water is clean and crowds are low in weekdays. Lots of space to chill out.

Lovely waterpark. Better than Suoi Tien waterpark imo. Plenty of slides. Affordable food options. Don’t go weekend!
Dzung1969 — Google review
I took my son to the water park on Saturday and we had a great time! It wasn’t too busy, so he got to enjoy all the slides and pools without long waits. He had such a fun time that he didn’t want to leave — only the rain made us head home. The tickets cost 400k for both of us, which I found reasonable for the experience. Overall, a fun day out and definitely worth visiting with kids!
Baljeet S — Google review
It's outdated and old. Over 140cm is adult and more ride options. Under 140cm there's only 2 slides they can do along with the kids pool and wave pool. Most of the adult slides, the panels are not smooth so when you go down on them, it rubs against your skin and hurts. Food and drinks were very affordable like a home cooked meal which was good.
Lily P — Google review
We had the pleasure of visiting this fun waterpark for kids on a Friday afternoon in July. My kids are 6-9 and they really enjoyed the tidal wave pool and kiddie pool. There's a lazy river, too, but requires adult to go with. Overall, the kids had a blast and there are chairs everywhere to sit and get some shade even on a busy weekend. You can bring your own water and food if you want, since they don't check.

Bãi Sau Vũng Tàu, also known as Back Beach, is a popular destination for kitesurfing and enjoying stunning sunset views. The beach is lined with high-rise hotels and bordered by a vast city park. It offers picturesque views of Big Mountain and Small Mountain, providing opportunities for hiking and breathtaking scenery. Despite some mixed reviews, visitors have found the beach clean and enjoyable, with warm waters perfect for swimming.
Back Beach in Vung Tau is a peaceful spot to relax and enjoy the ocean. There was hardly anybody there when I visited because of the rain, which made it even more serene. The beach is clean, and there’s plenty of space to walk, swim, or just enjoy the view. I also noticed the small shrine on an island nearby and the impressive Christ statue overlooking the area. It’s a beautiful place to unwind, with some unique sights to explore. Definitely worth a visit, especially if you like a quieter beach experience!
Lydia C — Google review
More commercialised than Front Beach but a far better and more accessible beach area. A lot of the foreshore area is being developed making access a bit difficult but most likely better in the medium term
Stephen M — Google review
Many dead squid, I wonder why. Near by is having construction and the beach is filled with litter. Seems a great spot for local families. It's a long, sandy stretch perfect for kids to play and build sandcastles. The waves are generally gentle, making it safe for a swim thou I read from some review to not venture out too far out as the waves and currents are strong there. While it can get busy on weekends, especially with locals, there are plenty of food stalls and hotels nearby. Don't expect pristine, clear waters like some remote islands, but it's a convenient and lively option for a beach day close to the city.
The F — Google review
The beach is not yet fully accessible, as extensive coastal development work is underway. For example, showers are currently unavailable (there are only large water containers with ladles). The beach has great potential because it appears larger than the front beach, and the gardens behind it, once completed, will likely be even more beautiful.
Francesco B — Google review
I visited Vũng Tàu just two days ago, and I must say I was truly surprised by how much the city has changed compared to my last trip two years ago. Back then, Vũng Tàu felt quieter, with fewer options for dining and entertainment. This time, however, the city seemed full of life, energy, and excitement. The beaches were much more crowded, filled with both locals and tourists enjoying the sea breeze and the waves. While I usually prefer calm and peaceful beaches, I found the lively atmosphere here refreshing and enjoyable. It felt as though Vũng Tàu had become a more dynamic destination, attracting more visitors than ever before. What impressed me the most was the variety and quality of restaurants and cafés. Two years ago, choices were limited, but now I found so many modern and stylish places offering delicious food, fresh seafood, and even international cuisine. Many of these spots had beautiful designs and great service, making the dining experience even more memorable. Walking through the streets, I could feel a stronger sense of hospitality and professionalism from local businesses. Overall, Vũng Tàu left me with a very positive impression this time. The city has grown into a more vibrant and welcoming destination while still keeping its natural charm and beautiful coastline. I was happy to see such improvements, and I believe Vũng Tàu will continue to develop into one of the most attractive seaside cities in Vietnam.

Nice long beach, fairly crowded at weekends. Trash is not binned, a lot of plastics lying and floating about, including diapers (nappies) You wade through trash in the water. Better in mornings or evenings, very hot through the day. Hotel private areas, clean and well stocked with nice furniture, no trash on these parts.

Ferry service
The Ferry Terminal Vung Tau - Can Gio offers an efficient and enjoyable way to travel between Saigon and Vung Tau. Departing from Ben Nha Rong Harbour or Bach Dang Wharf in Ho Chi Minh City, ferries take just 1.5 to 2 hours for the journey, making it a quick option for travelers. With services like Pacific Express, Greenlines DP, and Vina Express operating regularly every hour, passengers can expect a reliable experience.
Straightforward and reliable, taking off every hour on the dot. It cost 70,000 per person, plus 30,000 to bring a bicycle and was a seamless experience. There is a blue ticket counter right at the entrance to the Google Maps location. Ferries go every hour to Can Gio. There were a lot of people utilizing it and it’s very reliable
Hannah G — Google review
The Vũng Tàu – Cần Giờ Ferry Terminal offers a fast, scenic, and comfortable alternative to the long road trip between the two destinations. The crossing takes around 30 minutes, compared to roughly two hours by bus, and operates daily from early morning to late evening, usually with hourly departures. The ferry can accommodate up to 250 passengers, 100 motorcycles, 20 cars, and some cargo, making it especially useful for travelers with motorbikes who want to avoid congested highways. The terminal itself is well-maintained, clean, and organized, with friendly staff. Tickets are bought directly at the pier, and no advance booking is necessary, though arriving about an hour early is recommended—particularly during weekends or holidays. Boarding is generally smooth, but the ramp at Vũng Tàu can be steep and may be tricky for elderly travelers or those carrying heavy luggage. Onboard, passengers will find air-conditioned seating, toilets, assigned seats, and complimentary bottled water. The journey is often quite scenic, passing through mangrove areas and occasionally offering wildlife sightings, such as monkeys along the shore. Pros include the speed, comfort, and avoidance of road traffic, as well as frequent departures and a pleasant travel experience. Downsides are the slightly higher fare compared to buses, a small risk of seasickness on choppy days, and the need to check schedules in advance, as they can change. Overall, the ferry is an excellent choice for those looking to save time, enjoy a more relaxed journey, and add a touch of adventure to their trip between Vũng Tàu and Cần Giờ.

White Rabbit Amusement Park is a delightful destination that caters to both adults and young children, making it an ideal spot for family outings. You can play some games here such as swing...
Trang N — Google review
We love the variety of rides for both adults and little children, as well as how old school it is while there is certain safety protocols in all the rides. One adult is able to accompany a toddler for all the kiddy rides, so parents with kids who want to play but are not quite ready can have a peace of mind here. The ticket is also for one person though an accompanying adult is riding with a child. The other positive thing about this amusement park (though it’s more like a funfair) is that the children rides are relatively longer than other Asian countries funfair. We like how there are a lot of ticket booths situated nearby the rides so you won’t have to walk really far or plan in advanced just to buy tickets for the rides. Worth a visit if you have kids or if the kid in you wants to have some childhood fun again!

Neat place and lots to see! Make sure to plan your visit on a weekend, as weekdays feel like a ghost town. I would have loved to experience it in full operation, but even quieter days offer an interesting visit. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area and want a unique experience.

Didn't go near the animals as it didnt sound very pleasant to go and see. So quiet which was good as we didnt have to wait for any of the rides etc. Rides were super fun! Plenty of choices and things to see and do here!

If you're looking for quaint, family entertainment with fantastic views at a cheap price tag, then Ho May Park is for you. It doesn't compare to a Western park but it also costs a whole lot less. A few rides weren't operating, and some were temporarily closed for lunch! The highlight for us was the cable car ride, the Alpine Coaster, Zipline, the 7D experience and the animal park (they were very well looked after). We had a really enjoyable day out.

I bought tickets for my family, 500k/adult but they weren’t worth. 70-80% of outdoor games are downgraded, outdated and unsuitable for whom are over 85kg or under 14 years old. However, sightseeing from the top of Ho May is quite interesting and breathtaking. I think it’s worth paying visiting tickets only, not full package. And you should bring your food along because the restaurants don’t cook well.

Really needs some renovations. It's a good place to spend an afternoon but the bathrooms in particular are quite dirty and smelly..

Let me preface this by saying Hồ Mây Park wasn't bad, not at all. The idea is fantastic - a giant amusement park nestled in the mountains with city views? Sign me up! But there were just a few things that kept it from being a slam dunk. The park itself is beautiful. The mountain air was cool and refreshing, a welcome change from the Vung Tau heat. The cable car ride to the top was scenic, and offered a great view of the sprawling city below. We even saw a glimpse of the ocean! Once up top, though, the park felt a bit scattered. There were some definite highlights - the Alpine Coaster was a blast, and the zipline offered some amazing thrills. The downside was that some of the other rides seemed a little run down, and there weren't a ton of options for young kids. The water park area, which I was really looking forward to, was surprisingly small. Overall, Hồ Mây Park was a fun way to spend an afternoon, especially if you're looking for some adrenaline pumping activities. However, if you're expecting a world-class theme park experience, you might be a little disappointed. For me, it was a 3 out of 5 stars.
