Pearl Street Grill & Brewery is housed in a historic 19th Century building that has been meticulously restored, featuring oak claw foots, booths, and New Orleans-style wrap-around patios. With eight bars spread across four levels, the brewery offers a variety of house-brewed beers on tap, including seasonal options like the signature "train wreck" amber ale and the Saber's Edge IPA.
Amazing food with an amazing view! I loved the Cajun chicken Alfredo it was super delicious, it was the perfect sunset dinner, the view was amazing as we watched the sun go down & the live band they had playing was also incredible. I’d recommend for couples for a date night, super romantic!

Stopped in for early dinner on Labor Day. Plenty of seating available. The building exterior is lovely, and the interior is comfortable. The ceiling fan system is very unique. All the fans are driven by one motor and interconnected with pulleys and belts. Fun to look at. Lots of TVs for sports, and interesting wall decor. Great looking place. They also offer gluten free options for sandwiches, burgers, and pizzas. We ordered the Cajun Shrimp Salad and the Ditch Digger burger. The salad was great except for the avocado which was inedible. The burger was cooked far beyond the medium temperature requested. Our server, Julie, saved the day by replacing the avocado and giving up a free second beer (Lake Effect Pale Ale-which was awesome). We didn't ask for a new burger because the beef was very tasty in spite of the overcook. Large selection of house brewed beers and ales, both on tap and in cans, plus a well stocked bar with lots of spirits from which to choose. In spite of the food glitches, would give it another shot.

Went here with my dad for his birthday. Very good food, quick service and a very cool building. Compared to other Brew Pubs, this food was top tier.
Nathan R — Google review
The food is super delicious and this is conveniently located! Our server was nice and it wasnt too busy for a Saturday afternoon. The white pizza and wings were so good. Pricing is a little steep but that's expected with restaurants downtown.
Maria — Google review
Food is always great and so is the service. Their fish tacos are my go tos, but their burgers are also not shabby. Their outdoor seating is nice during the summer and their inhouse beers are great.
Jonathan C — Google review
Love this place. They handled our Empire State Bearded Villains event great. The Smoked Gouda Mac and Cheese was awesome.
Corndexter — Google review
We walked in on Saturday night. It was empty. We ordered basic bar food. When I got my chicken fingers, they were completely burnt and dried out to a crisp. They were the most disgusting looking things I’ve seen at a restaurant. We’ve gone to this place over the years and always had OK food, but it has gone downhill in the past three years.

I'm never let down going to Pearl Street. Had a work event on the 3rd floor and the food was so very good. The service was excellent as always and a big shout out to Celina our bartender.

Big Ditch Brewing Company is a trendy brewpub located in Downtown Buffalo, paying tribute to the Erie Canal that influenced the city's economy. The spacious taproom offers a sophisticated industrial-chic ambiance and serves house-brewed beer alongside comfort eats and small plates.
Out of town for graduation. Our son recommended this place he visited once. Very nice clean atmosphere, large dining area with second floor. Great options on menu. Everything we had was generous and delicious. The beer selections were great and the gift shop was nicely stocked. It was nice to get a small assortment of beers to go . Our server Randi , was so good , informative and fun. Definitely would stop in again if in the area.

We were excited to find this hot spot in downtown Buffalo. The restaurant definitely had a cool vibe and the server was amazing. We tried a bunch of things including the cheese curds, chili, salmon and Cobb Salad. Everything was delicious! The cheese curds with Marinara sauce were some of the best I’ve had. The Cobb salad was huge and very fresh and the chicken was cooked perfectly. The salmon was very fresh and tasted great with the fingerling potatoes. I didn’t love the chili, but I’m from the south and we make our chili a little differently. If you are in Buffalo, Big Dutch is a winner!

Pretzel bites were very good. Hey burner wings were delicious. Steak sandwich was great as was the beef weck. The fries were a little greasy and had skin, but more than enough of them. The Service was great. Get here early as this place gets very busy. While today is the first time eating here, the last time, we left due to a long wait. The beverage selection was plentiful. Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday They open at 4pm. (Friday, Sat, Sun at 11am) CLOSED TUESDAY’s Closing time is 10pm (Except Friday, Sat at 11pm, Sunday at 8pm) There are a few TV’s and a Large Bar.

I went there with my research group and had a great experience. I ordered the lemon salmon, and it was absolutely delicious. I just felt the portion size was a bit small. Overall, the service was quick, and even on a busy day, we only waited about 10 minutes to be seated.

Nice brewery with some great selections of draft beer! Foods being served are good to pair with different types of beer! Nice spring days to be out and enjoy!
James — Google review
Staying at the Embassy Suites and looked on Google maps to see what was around. Wanted some place that also served food. This looked like a place to hit, just a few minutes walk from the hotel. WOW! Beers and food are delicious. Noticed on the TV screen they also have a Sunday brunch. My coworker, who has been all around the country, said the Brueben sandwich was the best he's had. He wants to come back just for that...and a couple beers! I had the steak fries, very good. This is some place they have here! Here for a few more days and will be back to try more!

Beer selections to appeal to all palettes. Enjoyed the flight and recommend the Dayburner. If you're not a beer-drinker, ask about their seasonal slush option...so good! We didn't order food but every plate coming out of the kitchen looked overloaded and delicious.

We went for brunch and really enjoyed the atmosphere, vibe, and service. However, the food was overly salty and the fries were cold and tasted a bit old.

Bar
Gene McCarthy's Old First Ward Brewing Company is a lively bar and grill that offers its own house-brewed ales. The establishment is known for its festive atmosphere, featuring trivia nights, live music, and a beer garden. It has a rich history as it was once popular among grain scoopers in the 1960s. The menu boasts original gourmet experiences such as the famous McCarthy wings and Sheffield wings, each with their unique flavors.
If you are a craft brewery traveller, this is a MUST stop. I love places that boast a unique vibe and this hits the nail on the head. A good variety of brews on tap, the best atmosphere and you can tell that this place is truly a community hub.

This place was recommended by many people in the Buffalo foodie group for the best fish fry. Although the french fries are fresh cut, I am certain that the ones I was served were reheated, I could tell by the texture that they didn't recently come out of the fryer. None of the sides were anything to write home about. The coleslaw had a slight citrus flavor to it and an herb on top that I couldn't quite decipher which gave it a distinct flavor. The potato and macaroni salad were both mediocre. The fish itself is skinless haddock, it was good quality and cooked perfectly. The batter on the fish was not dense at all, it was more light and airy, had a nice crunch on the top half of the fish but the entire bottom side of the fish was soggy. When I picked the piece of fish up vertically, liquid dripped out the end of it onto the plate, I'm not sure if it was oil or water. The tartar sauce was good but with a pronounced vinegar flavor. The flavor of the batter on the fish was rather bland. Would not recommend this place for a fish fry although I have very high standards for fish frys. Emergency Pizza used to have the best fish fry around, but it has become hit or miss unfortunately, so my hunt for a consistently delicious fish fry continues....
J K — Google review
We liked our food, the french dip was really good as was the ruben. The fries were delicious. Our waitress was very nice but was quite absent. It took a long time to get menus, to order, to get our drinks/food, to pay etc. The time of day we came, there was only one table in the shade, which was taken, so we sat inside. It was very hot inside (even hotter than outside). When we left, though, the sun was going down, and the temperature outside for their beer garden was perfect. Maybe have the tents/canopies for outside able to move to block the sun during different times of days.

Friends came in from the capital district area to experience what this great city of Buffalo has to showcase for chicken wings. Went to six places back to back to back etc… in one day. The atmosphere is great. The staff was amazing. This is also another great example of a S Buffalo Irish pub bar. Great vibes. Ordered 10 medium wings they came out great. Crispy. Tender. Juicy. The flavor was great. They had a peppery flavor. Like black pepper. And maybe a red pepper flake here and there. I loved the creativity on a medium flavor wing. Blue cheese was standard. Would definitely recommend this place.
Kyle M — Google review
Our Airbnb host told us 1) Buffalo is famous for its wings and 2) McCarthy’s has some of the best in town. Obviously, we decided to try for ourselves. We weren’t disappointed!!! The wings were HUGE. We ordered 20 but only ate 10. Very good. Juicy but crispy. Good spice. Delicious!!! Our server was very friendly and helpful. She brought a dog bowl of water over for our dog. This is definitely a hidden Gem and we’ll be next time we’re in Buffalo.

Saddened by my experience today. I’ve been here multiple times and always had a good time. Today I arrived around 4:30, the sign inside says that a host or bartender will seat you. Waited about 10 minutes with absolutely no acknowledgement from anyone. Finally a CUSTOMER said it was seat yourself.. okay? Why couldn’t the bar tender let us know that then. So we told the bar tender we’d like to sit outside and she said that was okay. Found a table outside and sat there for 25 minutes, waitress in and out of the patio with zero acknowledgement of us.. She cleaned up the dirty dishes on our table but didn’t bring us menus or even look at us. Just really disappointing to be ignored like that. Unfortunately that was such a bad experience I don’t think I will be returning. I read a few other reviews that have similar sentiments. I’ve worked in food service for a long time and it is not that hard to just have human decency and say hello to your customers. It wasn’t even that busy. 😞 Edited to add: We went to Adolf’s down the street and had a way better experience. Friendly staff and great wings 👍
Karly W — Google review
I came from Canada to try authentic Buffalo wings. We went to a restaurant recommended by a friend's friend, where I tried the wings sprinkle with recommended blue cheese. The atmosphere of the restaurant was pleasant, and it made for a enjoyable lunch. Many locals were dining there, and I was surprised by the volume of today's special menu. It's a popular spot among the locals. Since it's also a brewery, you can enjoy various delicious beers. The restaurant is located in a residential area, and its appearance resembles a house, making it easy to overlook. There are also days when they have live band performances at night. The jukebox and the presence of four-leaf clovers inside the restaurant added to the ambiance. I bought beer as a souvenir for my husband, but it wasn't bottled; instead, they poured the beer from the dispenser into an empty can and sealed it, making it literally fresh beer to go. I definitely want to visit again.
Cindy — Google review
Went here last night and was so hungry-no pictures! The Sheffield wings were to die for! How we’ve never ordered these, I do not know. We’ve had corned beef here on St. Patty’s and burgers before, but last night we got the wings and a burger. Asked for an extra crispy and they came out extra crispy. I don’t know what the Sheffield sauce is, but it was so good. I was dipping my finger in and licking it.

Pub
American restaurant
Restaurant
Founding Fathers Pub is a laid-back establishment adorned with American history-themed decor, offering darts and trivia nights along with a menu featuring burgers and other delicious eats. The pub is beloved by locals for its spontaneous trivia questions, complimentary popcorn and nachos, and the welcoming atmosphere. It's filled to the brim with political and historical memorabilia, making it the go-to spot for engaging in a trivia match or watching a presidential election while enjoying affordable drinks and bar food.
This place is awesome. I randomly came in while my girlfriend was getting a tattoo, ended up being the only customer for a while, and just hungout with the staff and watched football. Bartender was super nice. I will be coming back anytime I’m in Buffalo again.

If your friends or family recommend you to visit Duffs or Anchor Bar in Buffalo please make sure you visit Michael at Founding Fathers. It deserves to be in the top spots to visit in Buffalo. This is one of the best pub experiences in the entire US I have been. Michael is so knowledgeable in trivia and just a great character. The pub is filled with memorabilia of US presidents thru out the bar. This would be a place Anthony Bourdain would be proud to visit...Yeah I went their..

Wonder little bar with great memorabilia! Owner was supper friendly and had great history knowledge. Highly recommend!!
Scot G — Google review
Had a late afternoon to kill, went in for a burger. Decor is as others described, but the TVs were a bit noisy with MTV blaring a bunch of 90s to 00s alt rock, pop and lots of hip-hop + r&b. It was incongruous, a little grating, and seemed weirdly at odds with the clientele. Clarissa (IIRC) was delightful, and helped me pick the right beer for my mood (Sam Smith's Nut Brown Ale). Was profoundly disappointed to learn they had no kind of fries or hashbrowns available at all, thanks to the postage stamp-sized kitchen having only a grill. The chips would have to do, but at least the Independence burger was excellent. If all you're out for is atmosphere and a beer, this is a quaint, appealing spot, and if you get peckish, the food is quite tasty. (Though a hot plate to make some hash browns or scrambled eggs would add another star here. )
Fern L — Google review
This place is great. Super fun and lowkey, drinks are great and not expensive, and the owner Michael is fantastic. If I lived in Buffalo I know I’d be here a lot.
Evan K — Google review
The atmosphere, food and service were great. As a historian, I loved all the presidential memorabilia. Our server was also the cook and I had an amazing burger, while my husband had a philly cheese steak. I have never in my life had cheese steak I enjoyed, but WOW, was I missing out! So good!
Lauren W — Google review
*-Current menu on Google maps is old, please update. Esp prices!-* Came in for a quick lunch stop with my dad today and figured we'd check this bar out as it has such high reviews. Most of what I've heard about this bar is that it's "The oldest bar in Buffalo" which may or may not be true as far as structure housing a bar goes but the bar tender filled us in that the doors to the bar opened in the mid 1980's, regardless the interior suits it's name as it's decorated with memorabilia from our nation's presidents and wars. There's probably seating for close to 50 people including the bar and a variety of TV's broadcasting the latest sports updates. The menu was on the smaller side but the food didn't disappoint. I ordered the "Philly cheese steak" sandwich and a cup of broccoli and cheese soup. The sandwich was loaded with huge tender cut pieces of actual steak with fresh sweet peppers (and by choice no onion, add mushrooms) the mushrooms was a bad choice as they are canned and not fresh... the roll could have used a decent toast to keep the roll crisp and together but otherwise it's be a 5/5 star review. Stop in for some grub or a drink with friends and you won't be disappointed!
Matt B — Google review
Saw this place on "50 things you didn't know about Buffalo," so if course I had to check it out and have a drink. Found myself trying to remember my American history immediately, taking in all the really cool pics & flags. Bar trivia, fun atmosphere, good time.

Awesome place to see a show! Lots of space on the floor and multiple tiers of elevated standing space as well. Not a bad "seat" in the house. Plenty of space at the bar too with service being quick and prices not too bad for a venue. Would definitely go see another show here!

This venue is perfect! I've been a fan of going to Buffalo for shows for a long time and this was well set up and ran. We went for Bayside's first night of the Errors Tour and the sound was right and not overbearing and was well mixed for the venue.

A great band venue that offers intimacy at a larger scale. It is structured like an indoor auditorium with great acoustics. I saw KMFDM and Molocks and was glad for the separation its terraced layout provided. I am of an age where I want to be close to a mosh pit but not in it!

Chicken wings restaurant
Restaurant
Anchor Bar is a renowned establishment in Buffalo, known as the birthplace of the Buffalo chicken wing. In addition to this iconic dish, the bar also offers Italian cuisine, draft beers, and live jazz. Visitors to Buffalo are encouraged to indulge in other local delicacies such as Beef on Weck, sponge candy from Fowler's Chocolates or Watson's Chocolates, chicken finger subs from Jim's SteakOut, and Buffalo-style pizza.
Let's start with the service from Ann, amazing! She was prompt to take our orders and bring out the food (which came out quickly). Then she had a great personality with a whitty charm. You just don't get that anymore so I had to make sure she was recognized!!! The wings were definitely worth the stop. They were crisp, hot, and just the right size!! Then the flavor was perfect mix of hot and flavor. We tried the sweet potato waffle fries and those even met expectations, not bad for a northern restaurant. So the family of 5 left full, happy and wanting more next time.

Came to Anchor Bar in Buffalo after hearing a lot of hype online – was visiting from Ontario and wanted to try something special. As soon as I walked in, I was like wow. the place looked awesome! Super cool vibe, cozy setup, and even had motorcycles mounted on the walls – some of my favorites too. Definitely a great spot to hang out with friends or family over a few drinks. Our server was amazing – even though she was handling a bunch of tables, she was super friendly and helpful. Honestly, one of the best parts of the visit! Now the food… this is where things got a bit mixed. My friend, a total wing lover, said the wings were the best she’s ever had – and she meant it. So happy for her! But I’m a vegetarian, so I went with their large white pizza. Unfortunately, it was a big letdown. It tasted like frozen dough reheated in the oven and just loaded with onions, tomatoes, and cheese. The flavor was really off. I usually eat 4 slices easily, even if it’s just okay – but I barely finished 2 and packed the rest. Super disappointing, especially since we planned the trip around good food. Last visit to Buffalo we had our lunch at Imperial which was next level and I expected the same experience at Anchor. I get that it’s mainly a wing spot (which they do really well), but I’d suggest not adding pizza to the menu if it can’t be done right. Being a vegetarian, it’s tough to find good options, and seeing great reviews made it even more confusing. That said, I’d still come back – not for the food, but for the fun vibe, great service, and because my friend loved her wings. Also enjoyed their IPA beer. Just won’t be ordering pizza again!
Krishna R — Google review
We waited at the hostel stand for roughly 10 minutes with many other people and no host in sight. The servers were working their buttons off and one of them ran around seating people. Our server was acceptable. He didn't seem super interested in his job but it got done adequately and the food was great as always.
Stephanie F — Google review
Since Anchor Bar is the home of the original Buffalo wings, I had to give them a try, and they did not disappoint! The wings were absolutely delicious with that perfect balance of flavor and crispiness. The service was excellent from start to finish, friendly, fast, and attentive. What I loved most is that it didn’t feel like a “tourist spot” at all; it felt authentic, welcoming, and full of local charm. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re anywhere near Buffalo, you won’t regret it!

This place was really cool. Definitely a tourist type spot. The bourben bbq were REALLY good. So was the pep and cheese pizza. One of those places that im glad I went but I am ok if I never return. And that's ok

The vibes in this restaurant are amazing. The buffalo wings are definitely a must have. They are a so good. You will wish you can eat more. The pizza is fantastic too. The cup and char of the pepperoni gives it a nice crunch. Worth doing the pizza and wings combo. No credit card surcharge. Clean interior. Clean washrooms. Bar seating available with many TVs for your enjoyment. No Free WiFi. There can be a wait especially on weekends. Prices can be high for certain items. Bring a patch from your emergency service and put them up on the walls. Bring your license plate it. They'll try and make room for it somewhere. Go Bills. Go Sabers. USA Baby!

Came to the Anchor Bar the home of the original Buffalo chicken wings while taking a trip through the state of New York. Me and 2 companions went there at around 4:30 in the afternoon so it wasn't too busy and we were seated immediately. Our server Apache brought us the menus and took our drink orders. When he brought our drinks, we placed our orders. We got an order of original chicken wings with there original sauce we also ordered some boneless wings with honey BBQ sauce and a hamburger with potato salad we also got a small of mozzarella sticks and a small order of loaded potato skins. We got to check out the cool memorabilia on the walls of the restaurant while waiting for our food. It's a great joint with a lot of history. Apache brought our order out a short time later, and everything was hot and tasty. The original bone in chicken wings with the original sauce were great according to my companions with just a bit of heat and great flavor and my boneless wings with honey BBQ sauce had the same with just a bit of heat only with a sweet undertone. The hamburger was the only slight disappointment in that it was a bit dry, not as juicy as he would have liked but was OK flavor wise, and his potato salad was good, not great. Apache, our server was great, telling us the difference between the sauces and making sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal. It was a great meal and great experience at the Anchor Bar.

3.5/5 stars. As the birthplace of buffalo wings, Anchor Bar should set the standard, but my experience fell short. The order taker seemed disinterested, struggling to get our order right. However, the garlic Parmesan sauce was a highlight - rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced. The fried wings were average, nothing special. It's clear this iconic spot has lost some of its magic over time. Still, the sauce is worth a visit alone. If they can revamp their service, Anchor Bar might reclaim its former glory. For now, it's a mixed bag.

The Martin House, a masterpiece designed by Frank Lloyd Wright between 1903 and 1905, is located in the Buffalo Parkside neighborhood. Recognized as one of Wright's greatest works, this Prairie-style estate showcases his signature architectural elements such as horizontal planes, open-concept interior with stained glass windows including the custom Tree of Life window. The site offers guided tours through the first-floor rooms, pergola, conservatory, and carriage house where visitors can view Wright-designed furnishings and fixtures.
This place is absolutely breathtaking. It is a marvel of buildings what they have done on rebuilding it is just absolutely spectacular. It is such a beautiful valued building and walking through. It is just a walk-through history. It is so inspiring to go to and I highly recommend everyone to go there and learn more about Frank Lloyd Wright and this building and the reason why it was built if you don’t go and visit this building, you’re missing out visit Buffalo!!!

I took the 75-minute tour today and absolutely loved it. Lou was my guide and he did a great job. I've been to around a dozen or so Frank Lloyd Wright properties, and this was the most spectacular. The property is sprawling, the home is meticulously restored, and the landscaping is so beautiful. This is a must do in Buffalo for any architectural buffs.

We took the 2 hr tour. Parking is in the surrounding streets and watch the signage for allowed days and times. Tickets were on every car illegally parked. The house is obviously impressive and massive. Being fairly tall, I really didn't care for the areas with low ceilings that were intended by wright to either move you along or to sit down. Interior woodworking was impeccable and outside construction flawless. The guide seemed focused on minute details of the owners life and family rather than the house. But it was informative and very well run.

Frank Lloyd Wright architecture lovers will be very excited to see the restoration and current condition of this beautiful piece of residential art! Every detail was understood and perfectly restored to its original condition. Part of the house and an adjacent FLW home were destroyed in the past and all of it was rebuilt to exacting details and materials. As soon as you step into the home, it takes your breath away with sights, lights and sounds like no other home. It is not Renaissance grand, but it is FLW grand and I like that better. The warmth of the woods, the glass that makes the light talk to you and the art all over the house secretly disguised as furniture are all amazing. The docents were professional, very knowledgeable that provided just enough time for guests to stop walk around and take it all in. They answered questions politely with additional stories about the family and additional history bits. There are several choices of options for the tour with progressively longer and more complete tours of the home, adjacent buildings, and grounds. I highly recommend touring this Frank Lloyd Home in Buffalo!

The tour began with an excellent video laying the background for the design and building of the estate. Dave, our tour guide, was a wealth of information, and very entertaining. He was able to respond to all questions. We took the two hour tour, which I would highly recommend. We went in October, but I would love to return in spring/summer when the gardens are in bloom.

What a spectacular place! My family enjoyed hearing about the history of the home and the relationship between Mr. Wright and Mr. Martin and their partnership in building this house. The house has been beautifully restored and is a treasure. Our volunteer guide was so friendly and knowledgeable about the property. We are glad to have gotten a membership and look forward to returning.

Amazing tour. We took the 2 hours tour and it surprisingly went very quickly. The tour guide was very knowledgeable about the house, the history of the person that commissioned the house to be built, FLW, and the neighborhood. Even if tour are not a fan of FLW, you will enjoy this tour of the property.

The Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens are a beautiful botanical garden in South Park, Buffalo, New York. The gardens were designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, Lord & Burnham, and John F. Cowell, and feature a variety of plants from all over the world. The gardens are also home to a 67-foot dome housing tropical palms. There is also a flower and light show that is choreographed to music at night.
Had a great time at the botanical gardens. Lots of different plants to see! Very well taken care of. The building is beautiful, the way the plants are arranged is gorgeous. It was very warm and muggy, so keep that in mind if you go during the summer! Not a complaint, just a heads up for folks who are planning to visit :) It really is a beautiful place to see if you are in the area and want a family-friendly thing to do!! There is a cute little gift shop on the way out. They also have a small gallery with beautiful artwork for purchase.

I have been coming here and I’ve been using my arts access pass but was disappointed that I can only use it 1 time a month so I decided to get an individual membership! Not only can I come as much as I want I can access amazing perks and benefits for being a member. The gardens are beautiful and walking thru it takes you into a magical land of floral plantations. The air is so pure and fresh and the environment is clean . I come on a weekday and it’s not busy . The staff / volunteers are so friendly as well . There is a gift shop where you can purchase all sort of goodies for the whole family . 10/10 recommend coming here and if you are looking for a home away from home get a membership for you and your family ❤️

The Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens is one of the most beautiful and well-maintained natural attractions in Western New York. Located in South Park, Buffalo, this historic garden stands as a living museum of nature, art, and architecture. Designed by Frederick Law Olmsted and housed within the stunning Lord & Burnham glass conservatory, the gardens provide an all-season experience that delights plant lovers, families, and tourists alike. From the moment one steps inside, the serenity and freshness of the environment immediately capture your senses. The conservatory is immaculately maintained, and every section is thoughtfully arranged. The temperature and humidity are carefully regulated to support a vast variety of tropical, subtropical, desert, and temperate plants. Even during the winter months, the greenery and colorful blossoms inside the greenhouse make visitors feel as if they are walking through a rainforest. The layout includes numerous themed houses such as the Palm Dome, the Orchid House, the Fern House, and the Desert House. The Palm Dome is breathtaking with its tall royal palms, banana trees, and cycads that form a tropical canopy overhead. The Orchid House showcases delicate and rare varieties such as Phalaenopsis, Cattleya, and Oncidium, blooming in vibrant shades of purple, pink, and white. The Fern House offers a soothing green retreat with species like the Bird’s Nest Fern, Staghorn Fern, and Maidenhair Fern. The Desert House contrasts beautifully with its collection of cacti and succulents, including Aloe vera, Golden Barrel Cactus, Echeveria, and Agave americana. A few of the rare plants that stand out include the Corpse Flower (Amorphophallus titanum), known for its enormous size and unique blooming cycle, and the Sensitive Plant (Mimosa pudica), which reacts to touch. Other fascinating species like Pitcher Plants, Bromeliads, and Heliconia add to the diversity and wonder of this garden. Seasonal floral displays featuring tulips, chrysanthemums, poinsettias, and orchids ensure that every visit feels different and refreshing. The ambience throughout the gardens is calm and relaxing. Sitting benches are thoughtfully placed, allowing visitors to rest and absorb the tranquil surroundings. The gentle sound of water fountains, the presence of koi ponds, and the well-paved walking paths enhance the overall charm. The Wegmans Family Garden area adds an educational touch, especially for children and families interested in interactive learning about plants and sustainability. The staff and volunteers maintain the place with exceptional care, keeping every section clean and vibrant. The lighting and temperature are well-regulated, and each area is labeled clearly for easy understanding. The gift shop and café at the entrance also offer a pleasant break with souvenirs and refreshments. In conclusion, the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens is a true gem in Buffalo — a perfect blend of history, architecture, and horticultural excellence. Whether you are a nature lover, photographer, student, or simply someone seeking peace amidst greenery, this is an ideal destination to explore in every season. A visit here rejuvenates the mind and leaves you with a deep appreciation for the beauty of plant life.

Absolutely breathtaking!!! We attended a private event here and were blown away by how beautiful the gardens were. Walking up, the building itself is so elegant and unique. There’s plenty of parking and local parks nearby. Inside, the gardens are lush and green, with towering trees in the main room. We loved walking around and discovering all the different kinds of gardens. Our kids really loved watching the fish in the koi pond. The gift shop is very nice and I’m pleased we were able to stop by and grab a few things. Overall, very beautiful and we can’t wait to visit again soon!

The Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens is a wonderful place for anyone who loves plants and global ecological systems. For botanists and nature enthusiasts, it serves as a great hub for study and inspiration. The diverse plant collections, seasonal exhibits like the Eerie Garden, and well-organized educational programs make it both enjoyable and informative. The wide collection of tropical and exotic plants is especially impressive, offering a wonderful glimpse into ecosystems from around the world. However, the management should take more care of the tropical region plants, as they require precise temperature and humidity control. During our visit, we noticed higher humidity and temperature levels, and a few species appeared dried out due to lack of water or excess heat. Maintaining proper conditions is vital for the health and longevity of these plants, as each species plays an important role in the collection. Overall, it’s a beautiful and educational place worth visiting, but better climate management would make it even more remarkable.

I've been visiting the Botanical Gardens since I was a young boy. My parents did their wedding photos there. The place looks better than ever. The dome has been refurbished and all the rooms are bright and airy. The selection of plant life is amazing, and the new butterfly exhibit is very good, although the Butterfly house in Niagara Falls is much better.

Restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Buffalo, Gabriel's Gate is a charming tavern that offers an authentic American dining experience. With its cozy atmosphere adorned with mounted animals and Native American statues, this eatery has become a beloved destination for wing enthusiasts. Known for its mouthwatering wings available in tantalizing flavors like Teriyaki, Cajun, and Original Buffalo, Gabriel's Gate stands out as one of the premier spots to indulge in this iconic dish.
A fun place to get Buffalo Wings! I loved the history of the restaurant as well as the atmosphere. We were there in a Tues afternoon and got a table right away. I got wings and my wife got chicken fingers and fries. Fingers and fries were good but the wings were excellent! They had a nice crisp to the outside and the medium sauce had just the right amount of bite and gave my lips a slight sting. Would recommend!
Tom N — Google review
Best wings we tried in Buffalo. The Buffalo sauce and amount of crisp on the wings were perfect. I loved the French onion soup (wish I got a bigger size!) Highly recommend going here
A S — Google review
So wifey and I are on a typical road tripping vacation. The hotel staff found out I wanted wings of course. They recommended Gabriel's gate as a local favorite as opposed to the hyped up one. The wings were good. We got mild spice. Their blue cheese burger was a bit dry considering I ordered it cook medium. Wifey had a cheese steak sandwich and it was very good. Especially the next day with a light nuke in the microwave. The server was fabulously helpful and friendly. Place was super busy and everyone really seemed to be enjoying the vibe of the place. It's a shame that we live a few thousand miles away because we would definitely be back.

They initially told us an hour wait but we've been dying to try it so we said we'd wait. Went across the street to this amazing little bar and they ended up calling us after 35 minutes! We had beautiful weather and got lucky that they sat us in the patio. The atmosphere was super chill and beautiful. The wings were delicious and crispy and the mozzarella sticks were good. Definitely our top 5 wing spot in Buffalo!
Alex V — Google review
I really enjoyed the food and atmosphere here. They are very well decorated especially for Halloween. I had a crock of onion soup. It was nice and hot. They used croutons instead of the slice of bread. I had a chicken sandwich with micro greens and cheese and avacado. The cheese could have been a little more melted on the sandwich but this is totally nitpicking. Everything tasted great and the service was quick and friendly. Very locals only vibe. The bartender knew her clients kids and asked them about how they are. This is what it’s about. I’d come back.
Michael A — Google review
The wings were incredible. Hot wings did not leave a strict Sriracha, franks hot sauce, or Tabasco sauce taste it was just pure spice, Crispy skin, tender middle, very little grease. Cajun had the same texture but was a rub. A subtle spice that built up to a "Dragons Breath" after 3 Im definitely coming back

Wings and chili cheese fries were great. Service was a little slow to start but once we got served they did a good job. Atmosphere was pretty cool. If ever in Buffalo again, I would probably go back.

Natural history museum
The Buffalo Museum of Science is a fascinating destination that offers a blend of historical charm and modern interactive exhibits. Housed in a 1929 building, the museum boasts an impressive collection of over 700,000 specimens focusing on the region's natural history. Visitors can explore eight permanent exhibit spaces and rotating displays covering topics such as weather, climate, the solar system, insects, mummies, and dinosaurs. The museum also hosts special events including science celebrations and workshops for both children and adults.
During our Easter vacation trip from Toronto to Buffalo, we decided to spend a day at the Buffalo Museum of Science—and we’re so glad we did! It turned out to be one of the highlights of our family getaway. The museum offers the perfect balance of education and fun, especially for families with young children. From the moment we entered, our kids were excited and engaged. There are interactive exhibits, hands-on experiments, and themed sections covering everything from space and dinosaurs to health, energy, and insects. One of our favorites was the Explorations gallery—a play-and-learn space designed especially for young children, filled with creative stations to explore science through touch, sound, and play. The Bug Works and Rethink Extinct (dinosaur exhibit) were also huge hits! The museum does a fantastic job of making science approachable and exciting. It’s not just displays—you can touch, build, explore, and interact. Adults will appreciate the historical depth of the museum too. The staff was friendly, and everything was clean, safe, and easy to navigate. It was the perfect way to spend a few hours together as a family—learning, laughing, and discovering. If you're traveling with kids or even as curious adults, the Buffalo Museum of Science is absolutely worth a visit.

This museum is awesome with many activities to do and a lot of information to learn! The employees were very kind and helpful with information and directions. This is a good place for adults and kids to have fun and learn something new. There are four floors full of learning activities and an observation deck up to to look over the city. There are elevators or stairs depending on which you prefer to take to get to the next level and there is food and drinks right before going into the first exhibits

We visited the Buffalo Museum of Science during our vacation in August. There are 4 floors in the museum and there are stairs or elevators to each floor. Inside the museum there are many exhibits to look at and ones to participate in. We had fun with all the interactive exhibits and programs ( some were not working) and learning about Science related to electricity, weather, animals etc. The staff were polite and professional during our visit. There is a fee ( under $20) for the admission.
Karen J — Google review
Fun museum for my 1 and 4 year old. My very adventurous 1 year old was able to roam and around and play without me worrying she would break something. My 4 year old loved the animals and the special science demonstration. I felt like there were a few exhibits that either weren't working or were very worn. Definitely a fun little adventure for our family though.
Hannah S — Google review
This was an alright museum with some interesting things like Dinosaurs and even a Fiji Mermaid that was shown at the 1901 Pan-American Exposition, as well as some neat interactive exhibits, but it’s mostly just stuff for kids and the museum is kinda small.

Top notch venue. I’ve seen multiple shows, most recently kublai khan tx at the river works. Perfect size for a club show. Multiple bar options, great sound, and excellent sitting area in the back of the venue.

This is probably the best venue I've been to for a concert, and I've been to countless concerts in Buffalo/Rochester over the years. We just saw AFI and I was fully prepared to stand for the show, which is expected but sucks when you're getting old. I was pleasantly surprised to see there was seating both downstairs and upstairs, as well as bars and bathrooms on both levels. You can even step outside to smoke on both levels. We didn't have to wait in any kind of line for the drinks or bathroom at any point. So if you need to sit, this is a huge plus. We got there after doors opened but before the opener went on, and seats filled up after that so don't wait too long, it's first come first served. Lots of free parking on site. The sound was good too. Just a really comfortable place to see a show.

Buffalo RiverWorks is a vibrant entertainment and dining complex situated directly on the waterfront (Buffalo River), offering a wide array of activities for all ages. It has quickly become a local favorite, especially during the warmer months. Experience and Activities RiverWorks provides a fantastic spot to unwind, soak in the views, and enjoy live music. The venue boasts an impressive selection of extracurriculars, from virtual reality games and pinball to an outdoor area designed with kids in mind. There's even a Ferris wheel and zip lines for thrill-seekers. You might even catch a roller derby! Dining and Amenities The food at RiverWorks is generally well-regarded, with two levels of seating that include both indoor and outdoor options. You can relax in Adirondack chairs and enjoy the atmosphere. The colossal Labatt cans make it impossible to miss. Events and Unique Features Beyond entertainment, Buffalo RiverWorks offers versatile event spaces perfect for functions and special occasions. A popular ice rink on the property adds to the year-round appeal (ice only in the colder months). Dock space is available but tends to fill up quickly, so plan accordingly. With so much to see and do, you're sure to find something to enjoy at Buffalo RiverWorks! The only thing keeping it from 5 stars is and some areas could use some deeper cleaning or refreshing. During the busiest time service can be a little slow, but in general that is not an issue.

We had dinner here last night and it was phenomenal! The beer was delicious and the food was excellent. The tots with cheese curds, lobster bisque, and crab meat is something I will remember for a loooong time, it was absolutely amazing. The fish fry and pizzas were also something of the best I’ve had. Highly recommend!

This is hands down the worst venue I have ever been to. Tonight was my first time there. I was so excited to see one of my favorite bands, Lawrence, for the first time. Since I wasn't familiar with the venue, I opted to buy the reserved table seats thinking I would get a better view of the band. Nope. I sat under bright fluorescent lights by the bar that stayed on the whole time, and I didn't even get to see the band I paid good money to see. There was no indication that I was buying obstructed view seats. I paid over $150 a pop for this view. I left halfway through the show because the venue and their audacity to charge full price for these seats absolutely ruined the experience for me.

The Wyck Recommendation: Buffalo RiverWorks Rating: 3.8/5 Grain Silos Ghost Town and Axe Math That Makes No Sense Intro Scene I went to RiverWorks on a Friday at 1 pm. Prime time for nothing to happen. The place felt like a half-abandoned amusement park designed by a tipsy civil engineer with a bridge fetish. I walked I gawked I left. What Was Ordered Nothing. Not a beer not a fried pickle not even an overpriced seltzer from the tiki bar. Just me my feet and the world’s loneliest Ferris wheel. Service Commentary Can’t complain. Can’t praise. Didn’t test it. The only staff I saw were two kids perched at the top of a fun slide looking like they’d rather be anywhere else. Vibe Check It’s gigantic. Feels like a carnival swallowed by grain silos and concrete. Midday it’s a ghost town with all the promise of a rowdy night that hasn’t been invited yet. You know there’s a party in there somewhere just not when the sun’s out. The Space Itself Industrial relics painted like Labatt Blue cans. A Ferris wheel that spins when it feels like it. An arcade bar that’s darker than a hangover and a bathroom with a Step Brothers shrine above the urinal. Outside there’s axe throwing a tiki bar with a fake palm tree and that bridge. The Michigan Avenue lift bridge stands there like a giant Meccano set flexing for boats. The City of Buffalo’s clearly throwing money at this place. Ziplining paddle boarding climbing you name it all wrapped around these iconic silos. Also for the record the axe throwing sign brags about 15 throws for 10 bucks or 8 throws for 5. Do that math and tell me how fewer axes cost less per throw. RiverWorks logic. About the Neighborhood Waterfront post-industrial Buffalo. The best parking tip is to pray you come when nobody else does so weekday afternoons are your jam. The bridge alone is worth watching a massive slab of metal that floats up like an elevator for ships. Weirdly majestic. Hits & Misses ✓ The bridge show is free and fascinating ✓ So much random stuff to do if you catch it alive ice rink ziplining paddle boarding arcade axe throwing ✓ Silos as giant beer cans iconic ✗ Dead vibe if you’re early or sober ✗ Feels underused all that space just echoing your footsteps ✗ Could be cleaner could be wilder could be more awake at 1 pm on a Friday Final Verdict RiverWorks is what happens when Buffalo’s industrial bones get dressed up for a beer festival but forget the guests. The city’s pouring money into it so there’s plenty to do if you show up when humans do too. Go for the sheer size the bridge show the confusing axe math and the chance that it might all come alive after dark. Next time I’m staying for a drink maybe. Perfect For Daytime urban exploring with a thing for lift bridges Coming back at night when you actually want other people around

Went for Mother’s Day brunch and even though it was pretty crowded they still got us seated and served very quickly. They have a great brunch menu. And our server was very nice, friendly, and helpful I wish I remembered her name. Also the mimosas were great!! They have a few different kinds too. Great character, overall, and enjoyable food, with a rather nice selection of adult beverages. There's a lot of sports stuff and eventually the TVs will end up all on sports, so if you enjoy that, good for you. If, however, you're like me, and you find sports annoying, you'll want to go early to avoid the downfall into shouting sportsball noises. Very nice up to then, tho. Oh, and there are purse books under the bar, like a quality pub.

Stopped in for a couple of drinks. Decent beer selection. Martini was well done. Ordered the Thai wonton, which were tasty, but i thought they were pricey for 3 on the plate. I think they were $15, makes them $5 each.

It's an Irish pub with low lights and dark wood. Primarily bar food like burgers, sandwiches and wings. Service was slow as we were upstairs and the place was busy. Place could use a face-lift or a good cleaning.
Appleton F — Google review
The food is OK. The wings were not crispy, could have used 3-5 more minutes in the fryer to get rid of the fattiness of the skin. The chicken fingers taste like they came from a box. The grapes on the salad were mushy... it's alright food, but there are other better options out there. The service though, if I could give a negative 100, I would. The girl only came to take the order, to deliver half the order and then to throw the check in our faces. Of course, once we saw the bill and realized that she didn't split our check between the 2 families, so she could add the gratuity to the bill, we figured out why she didn't come to check on the food - she was getting her 20% regardless so we really didn't matter. Tried talking to a manager who could have cared less. The last time I'll spend a penny here. Sad, after over 25 years of coming here we will not be returning. You can do better. Especially for $180 check. Check in on your customers! I shouldn't have had to get my own to go containers and had to ask 3 other servers for refills because you never came back.

A safe bet at all times! The service remains outstanding and the food is consistently tavern-quality! I went to see the Old Pink Sandwich respect today, and it was extremely good! I'm hoping the sandwich stay together.

I absolutely love the “El Camino” (I get the chicken one) it’s my go-to dish every time! The flavors are bold and satisfying, and it always hits the spot. I highly recommend pairing it with extra chili sauce—it’s the perfect sauce (the mild is not spicy) that complement and takes the dish to the next level. Great food and great vibe!

Awesome place. Free street parking. Very quaint location in North Buffalo. Lots of small, interesting, local shops, restaurants, and bars. Ingredients are all super fresh and properly prepared. The pork tacos were delicious and the crack potatoes were insane. The manager waited on us. She was very helpful and really knows her stuff. Today was very nice and we sat outside. Heaven.

I literally order the same thing 90% of the time how do you mess it up? When Lloyds first came on the scene I enjoyed their flavors and now it’s just “meh”. What I truly despise is when I order nachos to go you put my protein in with my queso and for the amount of money you pay and what I paid today it’s not enough protein or queso in this by a long shot! What happened!? It’s always off when I dine here it lacks the consistent flavors it once had. I also didn’t get my rocket sauce with my order so and the presentation was unappealing. This really is disappointing.
Dawnette L — Google review
I’ve been a fan of Lloyd for years, and every time I see their green taco truck parked at an event or parked on the street, I have to stop. They never disappoint. I ordered the Dirty South taco and a braised beefburrito with their house chimi sauce — absolutely incredible. The meat is super tender, the flavors are bold but balanced, and everything tastes fresh. They also have great vegetarian options (the “Skinny Thai”) is a must-try if you’re into that). on the truck Carrie is always friendly, upbeat, and fast — even when there’s a line. You can tell that she works hard but still keeps a good attitude. Carrie is quick, and the food is always hot and fresh, even when they’re slammed. Bonus points for: Consistent quality (been eating Lloyd for 6+ years, still amazing) Creative menu items Affordable prices for the portion sizes That chimi sauce — honestly addictive If you’re in Buffalo and see a Lloyd truck, stop what you’re doing and order. Seriously. You won’t regret it.

Wow! Amazing burritos! We tried the fish, the ground beef and the shredded beef and they were all extremely tasty. Not your typical bland flavors. Whoever put these flavor combinations together knows what they are doing. We also did a side of potatoes and they were amazing too. I wish I had bought two of them!

I like this spot. It's simple, friendly and the food has a nice twist to the cuisine! Definitely a must try spot. Known for tacos 🌮 and burritos, they have an awesome buttermilk fried chicken sandwich, called the Mother Clucker, delicious!

Food was amazing! Ordering was easy through a touch screen or by talking directly with staff. There was barside seating that my wife and I took. We ordered drinks from their full bar while we waited for our burritos to be made. I had the Chicken and Waffle Burrito and I will absolutely be ordering that again!

Allen St Hardware Cafe is a genuine bohemian-meets-hipster neighborhood hangout that offers diverse American eats, a wide selection of drinks, and frequent live music. By day, it's an intriguing coffeehouse featuring savory bites and local art, while at night it transforms into a buzzing hotspot with DJs spinning eclectic tunes on the backroom dance floor. The front bar maintains a laid-back atmosphere perfect for chatting over craft beers or cocktails.
Love this place!! Never disappointed. Our favorite night is Monday. Great deal on wings that are always perfectly cooked and sauced. Staff is always friendly and welcoming- Dan, Luke, Rob and Gary. Stop in a try the wings and one of the best chicken sammies around.

As others have said - CHECK YOUR RECEIPT AND BANK STATEMENT after visiting. Went there with a group of friends, bought 1 round of drinks for 6 people, paid for them with my credit card (I did not open a tab), we drank the drinks and left. I left a cash tip but kept my receipt. Checked my credit card statement - I have 2 separate charges from this bar (one charge was the round I paid for and the second charge was not authorized by me and I have no idea what it was for). Tried calling the bar to speak to a manager about it - no answer. Went there in person and was told that it was a hold on my card - which I argued as no bar I have ever been to and bought a single round of drinks at has charged a hold on my card. As of today the pending transaction when through and it was not a hold and in fact is 100% a separate unauthorized charge. Currently disputing the charge through my credit card company since no staff or manager seems to be willing/able to help. Oddly enough, just before writing this review a 3rd random charge came through on my credit card from this bar. I don't recommend going to this bar but if you do, don't use a credit card and keep your receipts!

Stopped in on a Tuesday evening. Had a great meal. The corn chowder was superb. The chef made a special strawberry and feta salad for me. Husband had a burger that was delicious. We have had Cosmopolitans at many Buffalo bars, and these were some of the best. We were happy to meet Tony. He has been a customer at our business and we were happy to enjoy a meal at his business.

Great food! I had the buttermilk batter fried chicken sandwich and my husband had the NY strip steak sandwich. Delicious! And the hand cut french fries are my favorite! My husband said he'll definitely have the steak sandwich again next time we go. The hostess and servers are very friendly and helpful. Be sure to say hi to Gary serving up the drinks!

Check your receipts. We ordered four drinks, but the bill listed six. The bartender tried to gaslight us and the manager brushed it off with “Just carry the one.” It’s clear the workplace culture here revolves around defrauding customers. Overcharging people they assume are drunk or unlikely to notice is normalized within this business. Avoid Hardware unless you like being scammed.

Update: I've had food and drinks here now!! The truffle ketchup they serve with their perfectly cooked shoestring fries is amazing!! The wings are decent (Not the best in Buffalo, but not bad.) I really like their chicken sandwich too. The bartenders here are awesome, super great service. Very cool space, I was there for an improv workshop. I did not get to try food or drinks yet, but I'm hoping to head back soon. The building itself is super cool. And they're supporting improv in Buffalo which is fantastic.

Nestled within the historic Masonic Lodge in downtown Buffalo, Lucky Day Whiskey Bar is a trendy spot that beautifully marries old-world charm with modern flair. As you step inside, you're greeted by a warm ambiance characterized by rustic decor and dim lighting, perfect for those looking to unwind. The bar boasts an impressive whiskey library featuring over 500 bottles, showcasing more than 400 varieties of whiskey and bourbon.
We went for Valentine’s Day and were Majorly impressed. We got the whiskey fried pickles, a dozen oysters, and shared a 20 OZ Chateaubriand they had for a V day special. I’m not kidding when I say it was the best cut of beef I’ve ever had. Especially when you got to the very middle of it. Literal meat candy that melted in your mouth. They gave you this delicious red wine sauce too. Holy GOOD. My husband did get some Buffalo Trace whiskey since it is a whiskey bar, I just stuck with a coke. We had a really nice table back against the wall, with curtains on both sides of us so we could only really look out. It was such a nice night. Loved it ❤️
Julia S — Google review
The first time I went to Lucky Day, I went for a birthday. We rented out the corner lounge space for approximately 20 people. I was very impressed by the ambiance. When I was standing at the bar, I saw pasta that someone was eating and I knew that I had to come back to try dinner here. I love seafood - so I do not say this lightly - this is the best shrimp cocktail I have ever had. They were big, clean, and tasty. Both sauces they were paired with the cocktail sauce, and a cream based sauce were so tasty. I do wish I got a bigger piece of lemon with it though. The oysters were good, again I wish the slice of lemon was bigger. The mignonette sauce was good but I wish I had cocktail sauce with it. I did order the shrimp and the oysters at the same time but the oysters were served way quicker than the shrimp so unfortunately I couldn't use the cocktail sauce from the shrimp because I had eaten the oysters already! My friend ordered the Mac and cheese and the burger. He loved both! The Mac and cheese had Goldfish crumbles on top which I tried and the pairing was tasty! My friend ordered two drinks as well. A cocktail and a glass of wine, he loved both. This is a place that I will keep returning to. The pictures for Instagram are perfect. The lighting, the atmosphere and everything paired together is such a unique experience. The staff were nice, polite, and accommodating. The host specifically had an extremely bubbly personality and you feel special from the second you walk in the door. We made a same day reservation and were seated right away. The band that played, a keyboard, an electric guitar, and drums I felt was just right to set the tone and the mood. The drummer did not take a smile off of his face for a single second! He looked happy to be there and it was nice to witness. Great music! Thank you!

Ok... If you're in the Buffalo area, Lucky Day is a MUST! I was in Buffalo on business and hadn't checked out many of the local spots in the past. I spoke to a few interior designer friends of mine (shoutout to the talented ladies over at Copper & Cotton Home Design & Supply) asking for a recommendation on where I might sit down for a steak and a few drinks. They did not steer me wrong with this one! I have had steaks of all cuts far and wide across the U.S., but I have to say, Lucky Day's talent cooked up easily the finest Ribeye I've ever tasted. This is only a shame to say because I'm about 6 hours outside of Buffalo, but would easily travel back to have another one of their steaks. On top of the food - the service, atmosphere, and wide selection of bottles & cocktails, there was no place I would've rather stopped into after a long day than Lucky Day. I could not recommend this establishment enough. If you're on the fence about where to go for a drink and some great food, jump off the fence and go to Lucky Day.

What an incredible experience! From the moment we walked in, the vibe felt like stepping straight into a movie — think The Godfather meets classic New York charm. Dim lights, jazz softly playing, and the kind of ambiance that makes you want to sit back and savor every second. Our server, Nikki, was absolutely amazing — warm, knowledgeable, and attentive in all the right ways. She made perfect recommendations, and everything we ordered was simply delicious. And let me tell you about the whiskey selection… unreal! They have something for every palate — from smooth and smoky to rich and complex — it’s a true whiskey lover’s dream. The whole experience was one of those rare nights that just feels special. Lucky Day isn’t just a bar — it’s a vibe, a story, and an experience I’ll be coming back for. 🥃✨

I enjoy this downtown Buffalo restaurant. They have a great happy hour menu because I wanted to order the chicken sandwich but I ordered the steak burger 🍔 instead. Very good burger. Highly recommend 👌🏾

Amazing service! The food was great and the whisky flights were awesome. They have so many options for an old fashioned and so many whisky options in general. The hostess and our waitress were both friendly and amazing. We ordered the Caesar to share and it was a perfect portion. The fried whisky pickles came out hot and crispy and the steaks perfectly cooked. They said they would have a live band later that night and I wish we returned but didn't have a chance to. Can't wait to return!

It’s always a lucky day when I’m around… But I was the lucky one to be able to be a customer at this wonderful establishment. The vibe is unmatched. It’s dark with candles at every table. #purebliss I Love the theme here at the front of the restaurant and throughout. Oh, and the food… the food was absolutely amazing. I had the grilled shrimp with steak and mash potatoes and not a crumb was left behind. There’s parking right behind the restaurant in the heart of downtown buffalo. The price for parking is little to nothing and it’s so worth the visit. No reservations needed but it looks like because of the bar setup and location it can be pretty busy in the evening. Thank me later!

Our server was great, liked the overall vibe and decor of the restaurant. However, the food? Ordered a wedge salad and let’s just say it was blue cheese soup with floating lettuce and bacon. Really hard to mess up a wedge salad but they stuck the landing on this fail. Burger? Mid at best. I’d go back for a nice cocktail, but that’s it.

Such a great place for brunch had a great amount of food and options. I ordered the shakshouka it came with toasted bread from a local bakery Breadhive Bakery. You just can't argue with this place. Explicitly put together to let you relax while being taken care of in a way that's hard to find. Phenomenal food, phenomenal drinks; you could grab an easy beer concurrent with your tartare. A wide range of quality bourbons, ryes, tequilas and more. I grabbed a cocktail with a description I already can't recall- curiosity got me, and it was a knockout. Paired very well with the octopus. Next trip shall be a longer stint to try the entire menu. I took one uneventful photo as I left because I had such a pleasant time actively enjoying the experience. Absolutely fantastic.

My daughter and I went here for a drink after her appointment at Roswell Nice little celebration I had the chili which was very good and she had the vegetable sausage with chips. The drinks were extremely good we had the gin old maids 12.00 each. There is outdoor seating we sat at the bar and there was no wait when we arrived approximately 5:00. They have a private parking lot that you can pull in and park with no effort. There are stairs going up to the second floor where you order your food so I would not say this is an easily accessible place for handicap patrons

Stopped in here before a concert for a bite and a drink. Food was delicious and worth the wait, even with the small menu. Drinks were exotic and well-made. Staff was friendly and helpful. Only miss was the price tags - everything was a bit expensive per person; otherwise wonderful experience!

Ballyhoo is a solid spot if you're looking for great food, a chill atmosphere, and a place to hang with friends. The creamy shell mac & cheese was super comforting, and the TJ Dawg (a chorizo, pork, and bacon sausage topped with pico, crema, cotija, and avocado) was packed with flavor--definitely a standout. We grabbed a table on the patio, watched the Bandits game, brought our own card games, and just hung out for a few hours. It was relaxed and fun, perfect for a weekend evening. The cocktails were great, but the jam cocktails were next level--sweet, unique, and dangerously easy to drink. Also, the ice cream sandwich? Absolutely massive. Like, split-with-a-friend big. Overall, highly recommend if you're looking for good eats, good drinks, and a low-key place to enjoy both.

Eddie Brady's is a laid-back American grill and bar with a nostalgic atmosphere, featuring dark-wood decor and outdoor seating. The establishment is designed to resemble an early 20th century pub, complete with worn wood, brick walls, and a pressed-tin ceiling. It attracts a diverse crowd of locals who come to enjoy classic dishes like burgers and fried bologna paired with ale. The welcoming ambiance encourages patrons to engage in leisurely conversations.
I’ve been in Buffalo a few times and this place impressed me with their food and overall experience. It is a local bar or pub but the service was excellent and welcoming even to an out-of-towner. The food: I had the beef on weck one day and the portion was perfect, the weck or bread was delicious, add the horseradish and the dipping sauce and it was amazing. The second time I stopped by specifically for the Buffalo wings. For starters I had the most delicious cup of clam chowder, even better than the ones I’ve had in my hometown, San Francisco. The Buffalo wings came next. Wow! I ordered them crispy with medium spicy Buffalo sauce, and the usual blue cheese dipping sauce. By far, the best wings I’ve had anywhere. You have to check this place out and ask for Joe, the chef. He is a Buffalo legend in my opinion. Eddie Brady’s is a Buffalo must.

This place has it all — a warm atmosphere, reasonable prices, excellent food, and great service. The owner was fun to talk with and will look you in the eyes and say, “We have the best wings in Buffalo.” Honestly, I think he might be right.

Had my first ever "Beef on Weck" at Eddie Brady's and WOW! It was amazing! Definitely recommend using the entire thing of horseradish to really compliment the savory beef and sweetness of the roll. Plus the atmosphere was incredible, and the staff was super friendly! We went for lunch and, had our hotel across the street not have had to move us, we probably would have went back for dinner.

Top tier wings, a place to bring out of towners when you want to show what Buffalo is all about. Perfectly prepared, the light crisp on the skin, juicy and tender chicken inside. The medium is more of a mild, I would risk hot, (no interest in heat for heats sake here) barbecue was thick and sticky ketchup based, sweet no kick. Fries fries fries 🍟!!! 10/10

UPDATE 11/26/24: Went for lunch twice in the last two weeks and both times what I had was delicious! First, it was the steak sandwich which was a bit different than anywhere else I’ve tried it before, but really satisfying and this week, it was the meatloaf special which came with mashed potatoes and gravy and corn. The owner/ bar keep was real friendly and personable, and the whole dining atmosphere was relaxed, and low-key. Just my kind of vibe. : Went with my mom for a Friday Fish Fry ($12) and was both really enjoyed our meal. Service was quick and the fish was perfect! Came with the usual fixins' of fries, mac salad, and coleslaw. Definitely would recommend this place.

Chicken wings restaurant
Duff's Famous Wings is a renowned restaurant in Buffalo, known for its signature chicken wings and drumsticks coated in a spicy house sauce. As one of the original establishments to serve this iconic dish, it has become a popular destination for both locals and visitors. The restaurant prides itself on consistency and excellence, offering traditional Buffalo-style wings with eight levels of heat. The Sheridan Drive location exudes a classic tavern atmosphere, making patrons feel right at home.
We were on a buffalo wing adventure while in Buffalo and this place won the contest! The medium sauce is hotter than most but it’s really good. Sauce is made to order because they take their wings very seriously and it shows. It’s delicious! Service was great. The wings were saucy and crispy at the same time. Would definitely go back if I was back in town. If you can’t handle spice, I’d recommend getting mild instead. Highly recommend!
Mehrosh F — Google review
We had to try some wings from the city where Buffalo chicken wings originated. So I had high hopes going into Duff's. The Pizza Logs - Great appetizer, I could see these being a favorite for kids. We ordered flavors Parmesan Garlic, Medium, and Hot wings. All the flavors of wings we got were great. If I could change anything at all I would've ordered all Hot instead of medium. Also want to note the wings were cooked perfectly. The restaurant has loads of signs warning people of how hot there sauces are, but let me tell you they are not spicy at all. I would say that the Hot flavor compares to Franks Hot Sauce level or Crystals hot sauce if you're from the south. However, their Death Sauce is VERY spicy. This is coming from an individual that loves spicy food so keep that in mind as a disclaimer. Reason for 4 stars on service is attentiveness was lacking and pretty slow. Drink refills were slow and dirty plates and cups were left on our table longer than they should have been. The place was still awesome If I lived in Buffalo, I would hit this place up regularly.

This place is one of the best authentic restaurants ever! The food (buffalo chicken wings) is excellent and perfect. The souces are so unique and special. I even ate the celery they put just to have more taste of the aouce. Not only the the food tastes perfect but the service is so great. They serve you with a smile, explaining everything. They try to recommend what is good for you, willing to customize what ever you need like having the aouce on the side. Although the place was full with people the food came quickly and it was warm. The food and service are superb and adding to that the great simple yet authentic design the atmosphere in the place you feel like you are in a TV show of real American place. This is buffalo vibe! This place is one of the best ever. It is a must visit and not only if you pass by, it is worth driving to specially for a visit!!!

Came here for dinner and the wings were phenomenal — easily the best I’ve ever had. Perfect balance of crispy and spicy on the outside, soft and tender on the inside. It was a bit busy, but worth it. The service was solid: our server was super friendly and helpful, though the hostess could have been a bit warmer. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed, a bit noisy, and the space is clean, a little dated but maybe that’s part of its charm. Prices are fair, on par with places like Buffalo Wild Wings. I would absolutely go back — perfect for wing lovers and anyone craving classic, flavorful wings.

Fantastic place!! We stopped here on our way to Pennsylvania, im so glad we did. We were greeted and seated by very friendly staff! They had a great menu and fantastic service. I got 10 of their death wings and they were really really hot!!! But very tasty. We also bought one of their signature hot sauces. We enjoyed our time here and all of our food. Well worth checking out if your in the area or passing through buffalo.

From what I could tell this was the second oldest restaurant in Buffalo to start serving wings. Did not disappoint. Classic presentation with delicious sauce and the service was true to upstate New York. Everyone I saw was having a good time, not only the busy patrons but the staff seemed to really enjoy their jobs. I will definitely visit again. Maybe I will be brave enough to go up in heat next time.

I used to swear by this place the first time I ever visited Buffalo, but I tried the wings again here and they are not it. For the Buffalo wings, they seriously need to tone down the vinegar they add to the sauce, big time. The wings are ridiculously sour, my wife didn’t even want to eat them. I will admit, I loved how crispy they were, they retain such good crispiness even after sauce is added to them. I’m writing this review right now while sitting on the toilet because the wings did not agree with me at all. I feel super bloated and my wife kicked me out of bed after smelling the terrible farts these wings fermented. I will not be eating here again. Make your own wings at home or try someplace else, anyplace else. Low key, the vibe here slaps though. Love that they kept the original building. Feels very local when you walk in.

First-time visitor to Duff’s Wings in Buffalo, NY. I was really excited to try it, but honestly, the wings were pretty average — maybe even a bit below. Nothing particularly special. We ordered 5 Medium, 5 Medium Light, and 5 Spicy Garlic Parmesan. The Medium and Medium Light were the better ones, but overall the wings felt slightly overcooked and lacked the flavor punch I expected. Also, it was surprisingly more expensive than what I’m used to back in NYC. The staff were friendly and the service was good, but overall, the wings were just okay.

This place is good times and great vibes all around. The queens are all so sweet and take the time to talk to you and make it known they care that you are there. Special shout out to Sasha, Winter and CeCe! Love these ladies!!

Now they are blaming the police for the problems in the neighborhood. It's not the greatest neighborhood but the problems sky rocketed after the bar got there. Never heard of problems when the casino was there alone. The problem lies with the clientele he is bringing in. Plain and simple. Joey is blaming everyone else but himself. Just waiting to see who he pays off this time to reopen. He had to close his Miami bar because of drugs. He don't tell you that. Go back to Miami.

It’s been years since I’ve visited and never this location…. We had such a blast! The security guard was professional and did a great job at the door and throughout the night, I was thrilled to see a nice coat check and a friendly happy to help face, the bartender’s were attentive and fun and the DJ was perfect. You can tell they have been paying close attention to detail, every staff member in there was great and the whole place was super clean. I will definitely be back and I hope others check it out soon.

I went out to celebrate my friends enGAYgement at club Marcella and had such a horrible experience that left a bad taste in my mouth about this place. I ordered my friends and I 3 shots, paid $32 just to take them and find out I was served water. I told the bartender and of course she got defensive saying “she didn’t open the bar so she didn’t know what to tell me”. I had to continue to express how it was unfair and create a scene which was uncomfortable for me and out of character but I wasn’t about to let this situation slide. Long story short the bartender knows that they rip people off (water down the bottles) and eventually opened a new bottle and my friends and I finally got the shots we paid for. Situation made me feel so uncomfortable that I had to close my tab after and I left within 15 minutes after. Such a bummer they’re ripping people off, shame on this place!

Be careful at marcella. The bar tender I had, Black guy with dreads charged me for more expensive drinks (which he admitted to) said it was too loud and tipped himself without showing me a receipt and claimed it was auto gratuity (which there is not). I said excuse me where my receipt and he sent me to management. Marcella gave me a hard time about getting a manger and after 20 min of being patient multiple people including a guy who lied and said he was a manager threaten to throw me out once I got upset. The owner finally came and told them to give me a refund. The bartender I had was a thief and who knows how many people he did that too.

Awful place to go to. Security very unprofessional and rude. My friend got thrown out and mazed for obsoletely doing nothing. The bar tender charged me 2 different prices for the same exact drink. And when I told her how much I paid $$$ for the first drink. She completely ignored me and said “that’s the price”. And in both instances it was the same girl that sold me the drinks. What a shame. Would never recommend this palace for good times. Worst place. 0/5

There’s an older bartender with brown hair, Julie/Julia?, who has absolutely no business working as a bartender. I was dd for the night so I wasn't drinking. I asked for a water and she rolled her eyes and walked away, then proceeded to give me a disgusted look from the other side of the bar while asking other people what they needed. I had to flag down another bartender, who thought I was already taken care of, while Julie/Julia glared at me from across the bar. Going through the reviews, theres multiple negative reviews making complaints about an older, brunette bartender who is rude. Maybe its time to address this. I’ve been going to Marcellas for 8 years now and honestly I think I’m done. It doesn’t feel like a safe place for lgbtq+ people anymore, it feels like just another money hungry night club. Super sad because I had so many positive memories and I would love to make more. I hope y’all make some necessary changes asap.
Kellie N — Google review
The club does not even deserve a single star. I will admit the music was good. However, a club security threw four drinks down my back. Then, proceeded by saying that it wasn’t his fault. Yes, it was his fault and it was on purpose. I was not even on his way. After this, he went into the back room or whatever it was without even apologizing for spilling drinks down my back. He comes back after through that same door and asks if we slammed the door. I said we did not. He still did not apologize for spilling four drinks on me and continued to get even more irritated for absolutely no reason because he was the one causing this entire issue. So, he leaves and warns us to not do that again, although we said we did not do anything. We just stand there and he comes back through the stage to attempt to remove us from the club and brings another security guy because he clearly cannot do things on his own. At this point, I start to ask where the exit was because we did not want to have any issues. He just kept screaming at us, then pointed where the exit was. Those two security officers deserve to be fired for treating people, who have spent money to provide for the business they get paid from, with disrepesct.

Located in Buffalo, NY, Thin Man Brewery has gained popularity among beer enthusiasts for its standout beers and collaborations with industry-leading brewers. The brewery offers a diverse selection of over 20 homemade brews, including IPAs and fruity sours. Visitors can enjoy their drinks in the small front patio, comfortable indoor area, or the fabulous rooftop patio during good weather months. The seasonal offerings come with fun names and can be paired with bar bites like nachos and wings.
The loft is an amazing wedding venue. Kayla did an outstanding job coordinating and was always quick to respond via email to all my questions. She really made the day go smoothly. On top of that their food was delicious! This isn’t your standard wedding meal everyone hates, it will leave your guests wanting more. We had a total of 112 guests and the size of the location was perfect to accommodate everyone. Bonus points for the elevator if you have those who need a bit more assistance to get around. 10 out of 10 I’d get married here again.

We had the best wedding ever at Thin Man and would highly recommend it to anyone. Kayla, Dana, and their team were an absolute pleasure to work with. The bartenders were a blast and the staff was impeccable. They took care of everything and I was absolutely at ease the entire day. Guests couldn't believe how cool the brewery was. The ceremony and reception space are incredibly special. The beers and food were so delicious. We couldn't believe how affordable the day was and that we were able to stay on budget. Thin Man gave us the wedding of our dreams and we are forever grateful.

Been here twice (as part of the Shot and Chaser vaccine program, shout out to them for helping a good cause) and been shown a good time both times. The beer here is pretty good with a solid variety. And the food doesn't seem to miss a beat either. The pizza is pretty good, and made fresh in house. The best part though has got to be the service. Each time I've sat at the bar and each time the bartender has been lively, quick with recommendations, and great with conversation. Definitely stop by here!

I could write an entire novel on why The Loft at Thin Man Brewery is the most perfect venue in the world (but I'm pretty sure Google Reviews have a character limit so I'm going to try to summarize). First of all - the vibes are unparalleled. I don't know how else to say it. It's classy and comfortable simultaneously - the twinkle lights make it cozy and magical and the giant windows are breathtaking. I was obsessed with the fact that they had so many in-house options for decorating - we honestly brought none of our own decor and the venue was absolutely beautiful with the decorations they supplied. We had to pivot to an indoor ceremony last minute because of unexpected rain - but you couldn't even tell that it wasn't the original plan because of how quickly the team got everything set up and ready to go. We told Kayla and Dana several times that they should be charging more...because we felt like we got free wedding planners on top of an amazing venue. Both leading up to the wedding, and on the day of, there was so much support, organization, and just an overwhelming kindness from the entire team. The bar and food were also such a highlight - everything was delicious (thank you for having a mac and cheese bar...this was a dream I didn't even know I had until I saw it as an option). The entire staff who helped out that night was incredible - each and everyone of them brought so much energy and positivity (shout out to anyone who worked the evening of July 30th - you're all amazing). I think we heard from every single guest after the fact about how much they adored the venue and everyone who worked there. So all I can say is - 100000% the best venue and people out there to work with. Thank you Kayla and Dana and the whole team for making it such a wonderful, stress-free, and fun day - we will remember it forever! (Picture credit to the also AMAZING @fayekolkman)

HONEST WEDDING REVIEW - I just wanted to post a review of the Loft @ Thin Man on Chandler for any future couples looking to get married here. This venue is in a great location, not far from downtown and has a great aesthetic and comes with a lot of added bonuses that many other venues don't come with (tables, chairs, some decor). There is the option to host your ceremony outdoors in the courtyard across the street or inside! There is also lots of great spots to take pictures all right in the vicinity of your ceremony and reception. But BY FAR the best thing about this venue is the people! HUGE SHOUTOUT to Kayla (the Event Manager) & her assistant Maren for making our day amazing and taking all the stress and pressure off our plates. They took care of EVERYTHING venue side and I could not have asked for better people to put my trust in for such a big day! The bartenders and the waitstaff were also excellent and also a BIG shoutout to the Chef and kitchen staff for the AMAZING food. Seriously everyone was raving about how perfect the day was and how good the food was. Also a big thank you to Amanda, the manager downstairs, you and your staff were amazing day of and leading up to the wedding as well. I work in the events industry and helped planned dozens of weddings in the Buffalo area. I would be hard pressed to find a better venue than Thin Man! EVERYONE felt welcome and taken care of and we were beyond thrilled with how everything went. Thank you again Thin Man @ Chandler Team. We appreciate you! I checked this place out last week for the first time to watch the Bill's game. It is pretty big and clean inside. I ordered the drinking buddy pizza and it was delicious. I also ordered garlic parmesan wings which I didn't love. The bbq wings were great. I tried a few different beers as well. I was disappointed that the glass size I received did not reflect what is on the menu. Some drinks are 10, 13, and 16oz. The only time I received the correct size is when I asked for it. You'll see in the photos that I ordered a glow worm drink and was given a 13oz glass, when it's supposed to be 16oz. Make sure to check how many oz your drink is supposed to be so you don't get shorted. I would go back but will make a point to order the correct oz size when ordering beer.

This brewery was amazing, one of the best in Buffalo. Each beer I had was amazing, from the blonde stout to the Italian pilsner, and the IPAs, it is all great from here. Also I had one of the best pizzas that I can remember in recent memory. A chicken parm pizza with ricotta cheese. It was delicious!

Great afternoon trip down to the waterfront. Take a history boat tour. Visit the naval museum and gift shop. Grab a hot dog and icr cream cone or a Tim Horton coffee and stroll the boardwalk. Hop on the carousel and take a step back into childhood. Make sure you stop by the "waterway of change" exhibit. Its free and very informative.

Attended the Asian Culture Festival and loved it. Also took a boat tour. Canalside is great except for two things. 1. Not enough information. Ever see those sign poles with signage arrows pointing in different directions? Canalside needs several pf those poles placed strategically pointing in the direction of a. Restrooms, b. Boat Tours c. Picnic areas, d. Information resources. Secondly, the parking situation is abysmal. Either have signs designating where parking is available or list it on the website. Why? I'm 70. I shouldn't have to search blocks and blocks for a parking space and then have to walk 8 blocks on a hot day to get to my destination. Nor should I have to pay $25 to park in the ramp. That's crazy.

Inconsistent Quality – A Real Mixed Bag While I had high hopes, my visit was an unpredictable game of chance. The dishes were either fantastic or frankly disappointing. The best dish was easily the grilled asparagus wrapped in salmon, which was delicious thanks to its perfect dressing. The pan-seared halibut was also excellent. On the flip side, the margherita focaccia was a letdown (more like flatbread), and the sesame tuna main course was flat and severely lacking in flavor.

We dined here for my fiancé's birthday dinner- overall impression was good, and everyone enjoyed their meals. The food was quality and you could tell it was made fresh. Each order was also a generous portion which you don't always see at higher end restaurants. If there had to be one "complaint" for the evening, it did take longer than expected for each course to arrive, however the server checked in with us frequently and our drinks were never empty. Our dinner took just over 2 and a half hours which we didn't mind, but an observation nonetheless. I would come back for sure, there was several other menu items I would have liked to try.

Went to dinner there… food and server were great! However FYI to check gift cards before you leave… we purchased two $100 gift cards while we were there for my mother in law to give as a gift (we did not check them before we left as they were placed in an envelope and put into the bag with our leftovers). The day of the event my mother in law opened them and one of the gift cards had white out and was obviously reused… which makes it look like the gift card was regifted since it was two different gift cards!!!! We called left bank and basically they said they ran out of gift cards come and get a new one (the day of the event and obviously not able to be fixed). Simply offering to do one $200 gift card or explaining you were out of gift cards would have sufficed instead of whiting something out and not telling us!

Went out for a birthday dinner for wife. Six people at table. Food and service was good, but 2 minutes after receiving check and settling up the hostess came over and asked us to get up because they needed the table. I understand the place was busy, but ink on the receipt wasn’t even dry yet and they are asking us to get up. After a $770 bill including Tip, it was very rude to basically kick us out. Won’t need to worry about that happening again.

Modern art museum
The Buffalo AKG Art Museum, formerly known as the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, has recently undergone a major transformation and expansion. The museum now features an impressive collection of modern and contemporary art in its renovated 1905 Greek Revival building as well as new gallery and community spaces. Visitors can admire works by renowned artists such as Picasso, Warhol, Monet, Stieglitz, Rodin, and Arp.
I recently visited the newly expanded Buffalo AKG for the first time in years, and it was such a joy to return! The renovations are stunning — the new spaces are bright, modern, and incredibly welcoming. I was thrilled to see so many of my old favorites still on display, though I was a little sad to see that the iconic "Mirrored Room" is no longer part of the collection. It was such a unique and immersive experience. That said, there's so much to explore, and the new additions more than make up for it. Plan to spend at least a couple of hours here — it’s easy to lose yourself in the art. And if you need a break, the Wilson Town Hall atrium is a gorgeous place to relax, grab a bite, and soak in the architecture. Highly recommend a visit!

Awesome varied collection. All sorts of styles were represented, well displayed. Every room we walked through had a museum employee to answer questions. There's also an interactive area for children (it was Lego, so I stopped and played too). Looks like new exhibit areas are coming too. Nice flow.

We had a great time visiting the Buffalo AKG Art Museum, especially taking advantage of the free admission on the first Friday of the month. The atmosphere was fantastic — peaceful, inspiring, and perfect for exploring art. The architecture of the museum itself is beautiful, modern, and thoughtfully designed. Inside, the collection of art is truly impressive, with a great mix of contemporary and classic pieces. It’s a wonderful place to spend an afternoon, and we’re looking forward to coming back again. Highly recommended!

Never disappoints! The AKG is where I was first inspired by art, and it’s priceless to see that light shine in the little ones I now bring there. Creativity is ALIVE here, through excellent curation, community interaction, and convivial staff. The building is so well designed and has the most beautiful park views in Buffalo. Pro tip: head to The Terrace afterwards (a restaurant right across from the back entrance by the lake) for a more relaxed meal and cocktails than Cornelia. There’s a beautiful view of the original museum exterior from the restaurant and you’ll walk amongst some outdoor sculptures on your way.

Had a bestie date here to specifically experience the Yayoi Kusama exhibit: One with Eternity. The exhibit was so much fun and an awesome interactive experience. Beautiful museum, and I appreciate the on-site parking also! I plan on purchasing a membership soon especially with winter coming so I have a reason to leave the house and what better reason is there than art?!
Jeni S — Google review
This is a great art museum with a lot of really beautiful and fascinating pieces including a lot by famous artists. And while I didn’t quite understand and was very confused by some of the more avant-garde pieces, I still quite enjoyed checking it out. Definitely worth giving a look if you’re an art lover or know someone who is.
Willku9000 — Google review
Buffalo AKG Art Museum is one of the nicest art museums we have visited. The galleries are housed on three floors in different buildings connected by the most impressive enclosed bridge/walkway. It was raining when we visited; however, we parked in the parking garage, left our coats in the car, and walked right into the reception area of the museum. There was art on display by Renoir, Monet, Dali as well as local artists.
Carol J — Google review
Buffalo provides a respectable modern art experience for visitors. You will not find any ancient artifacts at the AGK since they were auctioned off to fund the shift to modern art. You will have to go to the MAG in Rochester or to NYC and visit The Met for those experiences. That aside, there are some significant pieces of art by Rodin, Dali, Warhol, Pollock, Kahlo, Matisse, Kandinsky, Seurat, Picasso, Monet, Van Gogh & Cezanne. I'm not a fan of modern art in particular, but I do appreciate the opportunity to discover new artists that I enjoy like Mickalene Thomas , Gary Simmons or Frank Moore. The collection of art by more widely known artists makes it worth the trip, even if you're not a fan of modern art. Other reviewers have mentioned how security tends to hover over visitors and I did notice that on our visit. It was a bit odd at first, but I decided to ignore it and not let it bother me. Our stop at the cafe was a pleasant experience. We enjoyed our cappuccino, latte, and scone, which were well made and fresh. The staff was friendly and helpful. A map of the museum with exhibit locations should be provided for visitors, but we were not offered one and there wasn't an up to date digital copy available.

Buffalo City Hall is a grand municipal building with an art deco design, known for offering guided tours and featuring an observation deck on the 28th floor that provides panoramic views of Lake Erie and western New York. Constructed in 1931, this architectural masterpiece is adorned with figures and symbols representing Buffalo's unique history and spirit.
This city hall is well maintained and secured. Got in the elevator all the way to the 25th floor and walked up 3 more for floors for the observation deck. The views up there were amazing and it’s free.

A very nice art deco style building, I would say the entryway is my favorite of its architecture. Buffalo City Hall has a lot of character, murals, and interior beauty with seeing, but the real jewel here is the observation desk. An elevator ride and a hike up a few flights of stairs and you'll be above it all with some absolutely amazing 360° views.
Preston S — Google review
Hidden gem. Go to the top of the building to experience a no-cost view of Buffalo. Amazing. While locals might just call it "City Hall," its official architectural nickname is Americanesque—a unique descriptor that reflects its bold, modern design and distinctive ornamentation. WORTH IT.

My husband and I visited on our vacation in August. What a beautiful building inside and outside! We took a tour of the building and our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the building and the different rooms he took us to. We then went up to the observation tower and got to see Buffalo high from above. What a view of Buffalo from the observation tower!

Buildings aren’t made like this anymore, and that makes me a little sad. Architecture should inspire, and this building still has that, after almost 100 years. It is a little hard to believe that a government building this size could possibly be needed in Buffalo, but that is another topic.

The architecture at city hall is amazing. The lobby artwork, the fine etchings on the walls, arches, and doors, the council chamber skylight, all add up to one amazing building. The observation deck gives unparalleled views of the city, and on a good day you can see so far
Matt — Google review
The Buffalo City Hall is a striking example of Art Deco architecture that flourished in the 1930s. Its imposing structure not only reflects the grandeur and ambition of the era but also the technical and artistic skill of the architects and builders of that time. Unique features like the decorated domes bear witness to meticulous attention to detail and a lasting aesthetic sense. Inside, the building houses offices for city government officials, council chambers, and various administrative departments. One of the notable features is the 28th-floor observation deck, offering panoramic views of the city and Lake Erie. You must be there before 4:30 pm.

Betty's is a beloved restaurant in Buffalo, known for its globally inspired comfort food and weekend brunch served in a quirky setting adorned with local art. Since opening in 2004, it has captured the hearts of locals with its cheerful atmosphere, friendly staff, and moderately priced eclectic cuisine drawing on American and international influences. The pet-friendly establishment offers a dog-friendly patio where patrons can dine alongside their furry companions.
Betty's is in my old neighborhood and my favorite breakfast & brunch spot. It's so Cozy here! Besides how friendly and down to earth everyone is, many of the servers have their artwork on the walls (changed out around every month). It's very laid-back, incredible food, decor and background music is perfect. They change out their cocktail menu regularly and are themed for holidays. They have really unique combinations of ingredients and I would honestly say you can't go wrong with whatever you decide on. They don't serve dinner anymore, so make sure you go earlier in the day. Parking can be tricky, it's easier for us because I know my way around but you may need to walk a block or two. Definitely worth it!!

Passing through Buffalo and came across Betty’s on maps. Almost passed up on this place because of the area and parking but decided to go anyways. Amazing breakfast and the potatoes were incredible! The staff were very friendly and provided great service! Will come back next time I pass through Buffalo.

Meh, I was not super impressed with Betty's. No reservations on weekends and they won't seat you until your whole party is there. A lot of people, so I'm sure the hostess was stressed and it definitely reflected in her attitude towards incoming guests. Service was pretty slow, but again, that's probably because it was busy. Portion size and price were decent, but the food was not great -- I tried the turkey hash and I would not recommend. The atmosphere was nice though, and I liked that we could get outdoor seating. First and probably last time visiting here.
Amber F — Google review
Betty's is a Buffalo staple and worth a visit! Their portions and pricing are great. Our waitress was newer and didn't know the menu well so ordering was a little confusing. I got the scrambled tofu hash (she didn't seem to know what that was) and my boyfriend ordered the corn beef hash. He enjoyed his meal and mine was okay. A little too spicy, in the wrong ways, and the cornbread it came with was very dry. I will say, the tofu and potatoes were cooked perfectly! In the past, I've just ordered a regular breakfast with eggs and toast and that's always been enjoyable. Overall, our waitress was very friendly - just learning, and the food was alright.

Great fall mimosas 😋(vanilla cider). My breakfast was ok too! I’ve driven by this place for years and never really paid attention that it was a restaurant. Nice chill vibes. Would recommend this place and even return back ;).

Had breakfast here with the gf. If you have to wait on weekends to get a table, be patient, it is well worth the wait. Bottomless coffee was delicious. We had French toast, sausage, eggs & home fries and gf had break-a-(something), can't remember as it was on their specialty brunch menu. Highly recommend. Will be back!!!
Stefan K — Google review
We came here for a Saturday morning breakfast. It's a popular place so our wait was around 20-25 minutes for a table of four. Quicker if you're looking for a table of two. Servers were great. Kept our coffees topped up. The food was good. It looked like they had farmers sausages which were delicious. The only comment I would add is to fill up the orange juice cups closer to the top. Lots of space left for juice. The place has nice bathrooms. Plenty of parking in the area too.

I needed a place to stop for breakfast on my way through Buffalo. Got lucky and found this place on Google. 10/10! Great service, cool atmosphere, and excellent food! The chorizo biscuits and gravy are delicious, and now one of my favorite breakfast dishes ever. Ever! And I'm a breakfast lover. Wish I lived closer! Will make a point to stop again if I'm ever in the area!! Highly recommended!

Sahlen Field, affectionately known by various names like Pilot Field and Coca-Cola Field, is a must-visit destination for sports lovers in Buffalo. Often referred to as 'The Jewel of Downtown Buffalo,' this iconic ballpark honors Senator James Griffin, who played a pivotal role in its creation.
Always fun experience, easy in and out, parking. Some stairs with solid railings necessary depending on seat, but accessible seating available if required. pricey but great food whether a Sahlens hot dog, LaNova pizza or soft serve ice cream.. Credit card only for everything including ramp. Some nearby lots take cash.

Pretty good park with a retro feel and cool atmosphere. The food is good too. Staff is great except for one particular guy. I was waiting almost 45 minutes for a simple order while this guy, who was the manager of the food stand, was just brutally screaming at and harassing a new worker while I was just standing there! He should be fired from his job. Other than that, parking is pretty difficult but manageable. Pretty good ballpark.
Lucas ル — Google review
Definitely a bit on the retro side, but you can expect that from a minor league game. Overall, it was a good ballpark with cheap tickets. Food wasn’t bad either! If you stay at the Wyndham, they offer a free shuttle to and from the game!
Antonio H — Google review
It was nice being back at Pilot Field (Sahlen Field). Arrived at 5:45pm for a 6:35pm first pitch. Parked a few blocks away. Walked by two bars that unfortunately were boarded up and not much going on outside the stadium. Once inside things perked up. Lots of energy and friendly staff. Walked around the stadium enjoying the sights and sounds. The playing field was in great condition but the concourse level felt old and dated. The drinking fountain was rusty and not draining. $9.50 for a Budweiser 20oz. The ballgame was fun, lots of promotions and kids chasing foul balls. Fun atmosphere but disappointed in the area around the stadium.
Sean G — Google review
Great field. Fun atmosphere. Worst service in baseball though. How can it possibly be that I wait in line for 40 min for a HOT DOG and a beer. It's like, they don't want to sell things. While I waited in line, I sold all my shares/stock, lol. And it's named after a HOT DOG company? I'd be pretty embarrassed. I'd like to come here and watch baseball, not stand in line.

Well I go here every summer! Yesterday I went for the Harry Potter game. 2 problems. 1- should have had the one team grifindor and the other team a different house both teams were the same house. 2- should’ve separated the tickets house wise I was looking for Harry Potter merch n I couldn’t find any. The price of tickets were my daughter and I sat were AMAZING. I will forever get them seats!!! 112 row J love love love!

Not really into baseball, but went to a game and enjoyed it! Bisons we're playing a team, can't remember the name, it was great! Overall, good food and drinks. Sat by the first base side, didn't get too many balls hit over to where I was, but it's whatever. Was shown on the jumbotrom a few times.

Had a great time at Sahlen Field..! The stadium has a nostalgic, retro charm and the atmosphere is perfect for a relaxing night out. Tickets are affordable, and the food fare hits the spot (though the hot dogs could be better, especially for a stadium named after one..!). Staff were friendly and it was easy to get in and out of the venue. Definitely recommend for families, baseball fans, or anyone looking for a fun evening in Buffalo.

Nestled in a charming corner of Allentown, Mothers Restaurant is a delightful bistro that exudes romance with its dim lighting and ever-evolving hand-written menu. Diners can savor their meals on the patio, which offers a unique blend of seclusion and connection to the vibrant city life around it. While not completely isolated, this hidden gem on Virginia Street attracts foot traffic from nearby establishments like the Quarter and Fat Bob's, creating an inviting atmosphere for both locals and visitors alike.
Truly a little gem on the city. A beautiful patio, bar area is wonderful inside. The food was amazing. I only had the appetizers but more than sufficient. The service was excellent. Truly a great experience by yourself or with a date.
Robert — Google review
The bartenders, Bob and Gary, were incredibly personable, making Mother's feel welcoming. The decor set a great vibe for the restaurant. I would have liked to have seen more local beer options. The tastes were good overall, but every dish had room for improvement. The pork belly was phenomenally cooked, but the sauce tasted entirely too sweet, detracting from the dish. The walleye was also cooked perfectly, but the sauce lacked emphasis, and the veggies were absent of any seasoning at all. The cocktail was also a bit too sweet. I would absolutely go here again, despite those comments.
Andy C — Google review
Nice place, we had a great waiter. Food was okay. Filet was different but good. Duck was fatty, alot of restaurants do that lately. Ala carte, no salad & was served one stale slice of bread each with cold butter. A one & done for us.
Holly M — Google review
The atmosphere is pretty cute, but where we sat was extremely low light, while around the corner the table had bright fluorescent lights. A mix between the 2 would keep it more cohesive. Finding a parking spot was rather daunting. Our meals were.. just ok. The oysters were the smallest I’ve seen but very tasty. The tuna was cooked very rare, which I like, however it was still cold inside. The biggest disappointment was that both the tuna & the strip steak were extremely plain. We were excited to try this place, as we have loved so many buffalo restaurants. The prices are low compared to many other establishments we’ve recently tried, but our meals were less than exciting. Nothing was bad, just not enough to make us go back.
Amber — Google review
Made a reservation for my 32nd birthday! Went with 4 other women. This was a Monday night 11/3. The atmosphere was cool but we were sat at a table right by the door and we all froze, all night. The waitress, don’t know her name as she didn’t introduce herself, did not come over for 17 minutes after we were seated. She came and asked if we wanted drinks (no pleasantries). We all ordered drinks and our food. Drinks didn’t come out for about 20 minutes. Our food took over an hour for appetizers. Hour and a half for entrees. Our waitress came over exactly once to refill our waters and ask if we wanted any other drinks for that hour and a half wait. I ordered filet mignon- medium. It came our RARE and the sides were cold. The dish had no sauce, and it was supposed to. My sister ordered the same and hers was also rare. We sent them back explaining the issue. Both plates came back and the sides were still cold and the filets still undercooked. At that point we didn’t eat it just brought it home to cook ourselves because we weren’t sending it back a second time. This was all 5 of our first time at this restaurant and none of us plan to return. I would not recommend this place to any friends. The only good part of the entire experience was the appetizers were good (clams, shrimp fritters, artichoke dip) as were the drinks. 2/10 will not return. I’ve included a picture of my “medium” filet. This is after it was allegedly recooked.

They knew we were going to share each other’s entrees, so the kitchen plated them both in half for us. Nice outdoor setting, absolutely delicious food.

Disappointed update: My mother got the NY Strip Steak. It was super tough and hard to cut. Our waitress, Kayla, was not attentive at all. She talked a lot to the bartender waiting for drinks. The bartender also chatted up male guests instead of making drinks, so it was a long time before we even got our first drinks. We both would have ordered more than one drink or would have had dessert if she had come to our table. She didn't even offer dessert. The table next to us got their dessert and finished it before we finally had to ask someone to get our waitress. Also, 1 of 3 stuffed banana peppers was clearly cooked upside down, so had no cheese on top (see picture). Previous experience: We came to this popular and well-known Buffalo bar/restaurant on a Thursday night, and it was still quite full/well-visited. They have a well-stocked bar with multiple bartenders and also serve food. There is a set menu along with daily specials. Unfortunately, this place does not offer vegetarian entrees. We shared two vegetarian appetizers: the stuffed banana peppers and the brie and artichoke dip. I especially liked the brie and artichoke dip. Both appetizers came with toasted bread. Our waitress was quite nice, patient, and friendly. There is seating inside and outside available. However, seating is only possible if you plan on eating.

Irish pub
The Blackthorn Restaurant & Pub is a cozy and welcoming neighborhood haunt that exudes Irish heritage and hospitality. The establishment offers a menu filled with hearty Irish fare, comfort foods, and their renowned South Buffalo Wing. The pub's commitment to Buffalo culinary traditions is evident in their perfectly cooked wings smothered in classic and innovative sauces. Additionally, the Blackthorn Club, located upstairs, has been a staple for over 100 years.
Ordered the oversized fish fry that comes with the trifecta: Coleslaw, Mac salad, and a choice of potato. Fish was fantastic with what appeared to be an in-house made tarter sauce, so good. Finally made it here to knock off a restaurant on the wing trail but the fish looked too good to pass up. So, we'll be back for the wings another day.

My wife and I visited here on a Friday afternoon. To start I had a Smithwick's Irish Red Ale. It was refreshing. My wife had the Irish Beer Cheddar Soup, and the Chicken Parmesan Sandwich. She said both were very good. I had the Beer-Battered Fish Fry with French Fries only. Excellent portion size of fish and the fries were very crunchy. The restaurant has a nice relaxing pub style atmosphere with a comfortable fireplace and intimate bar. They also have an outdoor patio area too. Our server was Shannon. She was very friendly and efficient with our order. I would recommend the Blackthorn for a nice relaxing meal of Irish favorites like Shepherd's Pie and Cornbeef, and other delicious meals.

We were doing a "wing crawl" at various bars and restaurants. The adult beverages were fine, you really can't go wrong with beer. But, we went there for the buffalo wings. Of the 6 places we went to over 3 days, the wings were as good as any, so tied for the best. I'd say a 10. Surprisingly, the place where they were "invented" got no better than a 7 by comparison. It's a bar, with food, but looks safe and was clean and well run.
James S — Google review
My husband and I came here for dinner last Friday. Normal pub atmosphere when you walk in. Bar is in the lower level and seating for the restaurant is above. Cozy seating area. Each table has its own lamp. Maxed a nice ambiance. We started with the sift pretzels as an appetizer. A+. I ordered the filet and my husband got the meatloaf. The steak was perfection. Cooked just as asked. My husband enjoyed his meal also. We were so full we had no room for dessert! That was our 1st time there and definitely won't be our last. I highly recommend you try this hidden gem!!

I went here 3 times on a short weekend to see Chiefs vs Bills. The food was incredible every time and service was great! Fish fry Friday was excellent. The homemade tator tots were not what I was expecting but in a good way, super delicious. I also commend the wings and meatloaf. They also had a great fall cocktail menu. Would highly recommend if you’re in the area!

Imperial Pizza - Abbott Road is a beloved local gem in South Buffalo, known for its thick-crust pizzas, delicious wings, and hearty subs. This charming takeout-style parlor offers a welcoming atmosphere perfect for enjoying a game with friends or having a laid-back date night. With an extensive menu that features both classic Buffalo favorites and unique creations like the Reuben pizza topped with corned beef and sauerkraut, there's something to satisfy every craving.
In my opinion, the best wings in all of Buffalo. My wife and I love to come here and watch the Buffalo Bills. I enjoy the fish fry (only served on Fridays). The lunch special is a favorite, too, offering pizza, sandwich, and subs with either fries or wings and a soda beverage or a pint of beer. Parking is somewhat difficult due to the size of the parking lot. You can park on Abbott Road, but those spots are hard to come by on some days. You can also park on Eden St or Whitehall (but know that sides switch at 6 pm on Mondays and Thursdays. And during football season, that's tough. They have additional parking in the old deli parking lot (next to Karczyck's). The staff is very friendly. The atmosphere is pub style. In my opinion, you will enjoy your time and meal here.

It’s all in the sauce. Great thick sauce that is also smooth which is right up my alley, personally. pizza logs pair amazing with the sauce, loganberry bbq wings were great, mozz sticks weren’t hot and weren’t the best but that’s not going to affect this review. Great atmosphere and I will for sure be returning.

Pizza is great. Tastes like Bocce's cousin with a thicker crust and slightly different seasonings. Highly recommend, subs are fire too.

Absolutely disgusting. Not sure why people rave about Imperial. I ordered off of Uber eats tonight and this is what I received. In my order I stated "lightly done" and instead, I received a completely burnt pizza, so hard around the edges I couldn't even bite into it. Not to mention I found what looks like a small piece of plastic on my pepperoni in the first picture. Definitely not edible! And the sauce tastes like it's straight up tomato paste with no flavor. My daughter said it tastes like her spaghetti o's!! She didn't even want to eat it and she loves pizza. This is going right in the trash, what a waste! Do NOT recommend.
Paula K — Google review
Some of the tastiest pizza I've ever had! Came here hungry with my family on Friday shortly after driving down from Canada, and left full to the brim. The pizza here is huge! The dough is soft and nice, the cheese is stretchy, and the toppings sure are tasty! The sides were really good too, and massive haha. I really loved the garlic bread personally. Everyone I went with really enjoyed the food. Definitely stop by here for quality, good pizza!

The only reason I gave the atmosphere a 4 is because I’m a Chiefs fan! They didn’t hold that against us though. My husband had to have Buffalo wings in Buffalo. He said they didn’t disappoint. His lunch special was a slice +5 wings. I had the 1/4 lunch special pizza. We shared the fried cauliflower. Everything was delicious. Pricing in point. Good portion size. On site parking. Jim's Steakout is a low-key sandwich chain that offers a variety of hoagies, burgers, wraps, and sides like poutine. It's known for its gigantic steak hoagies that are perfect for settling your stomach after a night out. One of the must-try items is the Jim's Bleu sub, featuring tenderloin chicken fingers with melted cheese, bleu cheese crumbles, and fresh veggies on a toasted roll.
If only you could give more than 5 stars… Jim’s has been there for me at 11 am, 5 pm, 3 am - and just about any time in between. In inebriation, sobriety, or somewhere in the middle - Jim’s doesn’t judge… they just provide the BEST food, every single time. Jim’s on Chippewa has been a go-to for about 20 years, and the service is still incredible - and food is hot and fresh. The 12” Chicken Finger Sub (and sometimes the Stinger) is generally my go to, and if you’re not the biggest blue cheese fan, feel free to sub for mayo. Everything is made to order, and it’s great value for the price. Their weekly sub deal is also a great choice for a lower price point. I’d recommend ordering in advance online to avoid longer waits (as I mentioned - it’s all made fresh), and if you’re looking for seating - it might be better to try the Allentown location (this one has a few stools, but if you’re there when it’s busy… they’re typically occupied). The portions and quality punch above their weight at Jim’s. It’s not typical fast food - these sandwiches are phenomenal, just served in a fast food setting.

They also offer an extended coffee drink menu to complement their offerings. The bakery takes pride in using locally sourced wheat, honey, milk, and eggs in their products.
This place came recommended, and overall it lived up to the hype 🤗 We were almost overwhelmed by all the delicious-looking options, but Tristan at the register was super helpful—even when we asked him to weigh in on a very apples-to-oranges decision between the tiramisu latte and the chocolate zucchini treat! He confirmed that the Golden Milk had espresso in it, though honestly, we couldn’t really taste it. 🤷‍♀️ Our hot drink came out iced despite the receipt saying otherwise, but they fixed it quickly and even offered to let us keep the iced one, which was appreciated. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area. We will be back for some more loaves!

We absolutely loved our visit to Five Points Bakery! The outdoor seating area is such a charming spot to relax and enjoy the neighborhood vibe. The coffee was excellent, the matcha was smooth and flavorful, and the breakfast sandwiches were hearty and delicious. But the real standout was the cinnamon toast! It was truly to die for! Everything was fresh, wholesome, and served with a smile. Can’t wait to come back!

The breads are incredibly good. Great variety, amazing aroma and texture. Loved all the sandwich menu they have, you really will be 10 minutes deciding what to get. Coffee is really good too. We’ve walked and driven by Five Points Bakery multiple times visiting the surrounding businesses, WOW! Have we missed out! While they’re set back and unassuming, be sure to stop in for some delicious coffee and amazing baked goods. There’s so much space inside and out, you’ll rarely be without a table. I highly recommend Five Points Bakery!

It was amazing! The specials were so good. We had the crispy chili toast and the chicken salad. We completely missed the regular menu but what a great mistake. The lavender lemonade and the coffee were good too. I would recommend it! Please note Sundays are VERY busy with line-ups outside the door.

Good place for breakfast. Delicious cinnamon rolls and unique sourdough croissants. Many toast specials available.

I absolutely love this cafe! It’s super cozy and has such a warm, homey vibe, something you don’t really find often in the US. The food is amazing and honestly reminds me of home. If you’re a matcha fan, you have to try their strawberry matcha, it’s so good! 🍓 And the Eggs & Toast sandwich is just perfect — simple, comforting, and delicious. Definitely recommend stopping by at least once.

Ulrich's 1868 Tavern is a historical bar in Buffalo that offers a menu featuring German-American cuisine and a rotating selection of draft brews. The establishment exudes an authentic vintage atmosphere, with a small but well-curated selection of craft beers. It has been visited by the U.S. Secret Service during President Grover Cleveland's time in town, adding to its rich history.
Got lost searching for an open house for a school program and popped in to get my bearings, I had a Coke and admired the beautiful stained glass windows above the bar, amazing vibe, also the owner was so friendly and helpful, he said my Coke was on the house ❤️ I’ll definitely be back

Food was very good and so was the service! Was speaking with the owner, Will, for a bit and he recommended that we try his wings. Best. Wings. Got to try the chili lime and medium! Great sauce and amazing crunch on the wing!

They just started selling a sandwich. The bartender Joe is awesome at drinks and conversation. Women's bathroom is heated(in winter) and clean every time. I love the outdoor seating when it's available. It's got plenty of space for groups or single people. It has a good atmosphere and darts, plus you can pick your music or watch football (soccer) matches frequently. Their FB page advertising is spot on and it's my new favorite spot!

The atmosphere was great. I felt like it was a century ago. We had fishfrys. They were large with ample sides but the fish was a little greasy & the fries oversalted. However it was my 1st visit there & I would like to go again sometime to try there German food...but I didn't see any liver dumpling soup...maybe it'll be a soup of the day

Ulrich's has a really cool, genuinely vintage atmosphere. Small, but nice craft beer selection, and the bartender and waitress were warm, welcoming, and attentive. The bar itself is a gem, a reminder of the old, blue collar Buffalo. A quaint little corner antique, situated in the midst of the resurgence. Hopefully it'll stay intact, as a beautifully aged reminder of Buffalo's history.

Friendly bartenders and solid happy hour offerings makes this historic tavern a great spot to grab a drink after work. Haven't tried the food yet personally, but have heard good things about the burger.

Place was busy for a Thursday night!! We ordered some Ulrich wings, which weren't my thing (to each their own when it comes to flavour), but the celery was limp and almost colourless - it really wasn't even servable, let alone edible. Waitress was pleasant. Would definitely not buy food here again. Crowd atmosphere was fun and lively though. Nice selection of beers.

Best French onion soup, bartender was friendly and “Buffalo-real,” and my dogs liked chilling on the nice little sidewalk seating area. Love that I can walk here from my house just east of Michigan Ave!

American restaurant
The Place is a charming and historical restaurant located in Buffalo's Elmwood Village. Since the 1870s, it has been a popular gathering spot, offering American classics in a quaint setting with a long oak bar and porch seating. The menu features timeless favorites like the Flynnies Thinnie sandwich and seasonal drinks like The Tom and Jerry. With its cozy atmosphere and accommodating staff, The Place is known for being family-friendly, featuring big booths that are perfect for keeping young children entertained.
This restaurant is a must to try for dinner! The place offered a fun yet tasteful menu making things as simple as a salad creative and well enjoyed. I went with a friend for dinner and our experience at The Place was great. Our server was knowledgeable on the menu and had great suggestions for meatless options. Our food and drinks all came out timely, and the restaurant seemed properly staffed — making it simple to get extra napkins or a refill quickly without having to search for servers. I would highly recommend their poached pear salad! It was light, refreshing, and a great portion for the price. I will absolutely be back soon to try more from the menu!

This was our first visit to The Place and we left knowing we'll be back! The staff was friendly and our waitress McKenna was the best! The crab cakes were surprisingly delicious and I'm already craving more! The mussels were alright, maybe a little overdone. The lobster roll was great and the roll was amazing and buttery! The salmon was cooked perfectly and so tasty but the risotto it came with was missing something... I definitely recommend and can't wait to try more.

I chose this restaurant and made reservations online because we are in Buffalo visiting our daughter who has celiac disease. The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful. It's so clean and has such a great " Cheers" kind of vibe to it. Most of the options on the menu can be made gluten free but always confirm with your server to be sure. Our server Michelle was very knowledgeable, attentive & super sweet. We ordered the gluten free mac & cheese, The banana pepper dip with gluten free garlic parmesan crostini with house chorizo sausage, Gluten free Chicken cordon blue sandwhich with a side salad, buffalo chicken wings( these were not gluten free) and a cesar salad. Everything was delicious. They have a huge bar, plenty of seating inside and outside on the patio. We will definitely be back.

This place is a true Buffalo staple. The mac & cheese came out bubbling hot in a cast iron skillet creamy, rich and exactly the kind of comfort food that hits after a long day. I paired it with their French Blonde cocktail, which was light, citrusy and perfectly balanced. You can tell they care about quality here, from the drinks to the atmosphere. A cozy neighborhood gem worth coming back to every time I’m in town!

The Place was recommended by my boyfriend’s family to try for my birthday dinner. Reservations were made for 7 and we were seated right when we checked in at the host stand. We were seated next to the bar. The inside of the restaurant is really cool and we loved the lively atmosphere. Once it was 15 after, our waiter came over for the first time. He did not seem enthusiastic , and quite annoyed. I thought maybe because it was dinner service he was extremely busy with other tables but looking around it wasn’t. We put in an order of the truffles fries, and two bar drinks. Eventually we put in both of our entrees, and a few minutes later our waiter came back to tell me the kitchen wasn’t serving anymore lobster rolls the rest of the night, and only had lobster to add to the Mac and cheese on the menu. I asked if I could see the menu because I wasn’t sure what to have instead and he said “k”, and came back with the menu”. I opted for the Reuben sandwich instead. Our food did not come out for another hour…Ontop of this, our waiter hadn’t come by to ask if we wanted another drink, wondering when he was coming back, my boyfriend just ended up going to the bar to order us drinks. Once we got the food both of our entrees were great. The Reuben I had was probably the biggest Reuben I’ve ever had, for $16 it is pretty stacked so definitely worth it. We didn’t see our waiter until he asked if we needed boxes and a bill. The food was really great but I if we come again we would definitely consider the waiting time for being served. Waiting an hour 15 for dinner is kinda crazy.

Great dining experience! The lobster roll was good, large chunks of lobster with a grilled bun. The espresso martini was good, not The best I've had, but good. The place, a tiny little spot that has old world charm... The waitstaff was.. a bit iffy? (But not really) It looked like they were short staffed but amazingly on everything there were fruit flies in my soda they rectified it. No worries. It happens. Im not squeamish. The food, my wife got a chicken milanese? Had a salad. It reminds me of yhe cutlets I make at home. I got the beef on weck... im a huggggeee French dip fan so I threw caution to the wind and tried... oh. The sandwich was a solid 7 outta 10. Im salt sensitive so the salt on the bun was a few point deduction but the amount of meat.. oh lordt let me tell you... its a 7 for yhat alone the au jus. Good not great. For dessert we tried a creme brulee. Solid 6.5. It was more solid then creamy.. like a jello consistency then a good custard. It was good tho the fruit helped. They were generous with the brulee so that brought up the score. Would go if close again in Buffalo.

I got the “egg on a roll #2” if I remember correctly, which had goat cheese and bacon. It was pretty good. The coffee cake my friend ordered was really good, and my coffee was great, I think I ordered the iced bombon. My friend got the brown butter sage latte which I also really liked. It had more of a savory flavor which was unique but I actually enjoyed it a lot.

For the steep coffee shop price, I was expecting to get something a little better than a mocha which consists of mostly ice and milk right out of the jug. I have had much better coffee pretty much anywhere else. Also I can appreciate music, but not loud country music blasting in a coffee shop.

Came in and tried the salted caramel latte, wasn’t a fan at all. Not sure if it was a bad batch or what though. My gfs cold brew tasted better than mine so maybe it was just what i ordered. The customer service was excellent. I wasn’t a big fan of the other customers who have no manners whatsoever considering how crowded the shop is on saturdays. Buffalo Distilling Company is a new addition to the trendy Larkin District, housed in a former carriage manufacturing building that reflects Buffalo's industrial history. The tasting room offers a unique experience, described as a blend of a sugar shack and speakeasy. Visitors have praised the friendly bartenders, delicious drinks, and perfect ambiance for hanging out. It's considered an awesome spot to enjoy some drinks and relax.
Engaging staff and plenty of tasty spirits in an interesting historic building. I couldn't stay for a real tasting, but the BIB Bourbon and Rye were worth the visit. Adam was helpful and willing to answer my dumb questions about their process and philosophy, etc. They have two interesting stills with some of the fabrication done locally. We went early in the day and had to leave earlier than I hoped. Their OFC branding might be a turn-off to some, but I find the humor in it. I'd love to try a barrel proof version of the bourbon, but the Rye is perfect for me as bottled. Cheers!

100% recommend! This distillery has a cool atmosphere, super friendly owners, diverse products, and great merchandise! This is a wonderful place to get some authentic Buffalo alcohol as souvenirs or as gifts. Especially one of their Krupnik or Mafia bottles. We had a voucher for a tour and tasting. It was so cool to see how they make their many products. We had a hard time choosing which to try as they all sounded so good. It is an interesting activity to do with friends from out of town.

First time visit was a superb experience. We were looking for locally made bourbon to take as gifts to family in UK. The bartender (Nate? I’m awful with names, but his sister is a soccer player) was great. Attentive and friendly he explained the history of the distillery and the different offerings. We loved that all the cocktail ingredients were fresh and made in-house. We sampled a bourbon flight and took a couple of bottles. We will be back for certain after our hols and recommend Buffalo Distilling Company to locals and visitors alike.

this place took us from an otherwise lackluster day to a perfectly happy a fulfilled day! we were in town visiting and had no idea what Buffalo had to offer... we weren't finding much, so we had bookmarked BDC on the map and decided to stop by. Dale, behind the bar, welcomed us as soon as we walked in the door and, he told us Buffalo is a late bloomer and things don't happen until later, which explained why we couldn't find anything cool going on. He made us wonderful drinks, let us sample their product, talked sports, talked local, gave us an awesome tip on a great rooftop for dinner. Had we not found Dale, our day would have continued to be lame. He was such a friendly person, great conversationalist, and knew EVERYTHING about the products they distill. Speaking of... everything we sampled was great, the drinks we had were wonderful and balanced, we even got the tour of the back and heard the entire process of how BDC came to be! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

The comedy night is a favorite among locals, who love Bennet as the host. Thursdays are especially busy with Open Mix Comedy performances.
I recently more than a one time visited Mr. Goodbar, and it was an excellent experience! The chicken wings were delicious, crispy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The drinks were equally awesome, with a great selection to choose from. I went with my husband, and he loved their chicken wings just as much as I did. Stopped at TLC while on business and was amazed by the warm, friendly atmosphere. The kitchen was tiny but man, oh man, they were pushing some incredible dishes out of there. The marinated olives and Waldorf salad were amazing and I also enjoyed the Pasta al Limone which was delightful and super different. The star of the show though was a panna cotta dessert with the most delicious crunchy topping. Great N.A. options as well and super friendly service, can’t wait to come back again!

I've eaten here several times over the past year. I have put this place on my list of favorites owing to their consistently good food, artful presentation, and attention to detail. The service has been attentive and well-timed. This weekend, I had the burrata with cauliflower and Broccoli Rabe, and my guest ordered the poached halibut. Both excellent; delicious and well presented.
Randy K — Google review
As soon as we walked into this spot there was an aroma of something delicious and I decided I was ordering what ever itI was right then and there, lol. The waitstaff was on point and welcoming with smiles and encouraging comfort. I imagined the chef was probably in the back doing the same with the food. The tables at The Little Club are little if you're not at a booth, but also large enough that our party of four could share a few plates of appetizers and beverages with erything on one table, lol. I truly, really, honestly appreciate the small lamps on the table. We could all easily read our menus. Most places have those votive candles, which really only provide ambiance more than assistance. I think I'm gonna add a 1/4 star for any place that is considerate or logical enough to have these lamps, lol. Alright, onto the food my dude. I don't drink alcohol so it's usually difficult to find a good drink without booze. I asked for the waitress to have the bartender create something from nothing. What they came up with was refreshing, fruity, & I had two, lol. The appetizers we had were more then meets the eye. I mean, the presentation was beautiful, but they looked like "that's not gonna be enough" but, the amount of flavor and love inside each one was crazy gracious. The Potato latkes were my favorite indeed. You'll see the Sicilian Anchovies pictured, and the butter, olive oil, and Anchovies were a great choice for my palate. For the main, I had the poached Halibut and Van Damn it was soft & buttery. The charred cabbage was so good I forgot it was cabbage and the kohlrabi just balanced the every bite like salt does pepper (and vise versa). My cousin had the lamb meatball bomber and was silent for the 5 minutes it took him to scarf it down. I must let you know that it's a sandwich and not jus the meatballs. In conclusion, dinner was crazy delicious. Did I miss anything? Maybe you should visit and find out yourself. Oh yeh, the bathrooms are very well maintained and amply stocked. Loved this spot and next time I'm up Buffalo we're sliding thru again. Much respect to the team, bartender, & chef.

When you enter in you feel transported to a different place. When you're inside you forget that you're in Buffalo. It gives you a feeling that you are in San Diego, San Francisco or elsewhere. It gives you vibes of small hidden restaurants of metropolitan city. The food was delicious and very well present. The octopus was extremely tender and presented in an innovative way. The wine selection was extensive. We were very happy with our selection. The costalis where handcraftet with delicasy and very well preseted. The Bartender was very neat, skiled and head great attitude and personality. She gave a good contribution to alive the place. Service was fantastic. The only reason I am giving 4 star is because there was no gluten-free option for the main course. I ended up eating only appetizers. If you have no dietary restrictions, I highly recommend it. If you have dietary restrictions, I recommend calling them in advance and ask for the menu of the day. Since it chages daily. I want to add after this review their menu was almost all of it gluten-free 🤩😍❤️. I was so happy and pleased with this incredible change. The food and service everything was para elegance. Thank you 🩷
Merita J — Google review
This is a nice little upscale place to hang out and chat with friends more than a real restaurant. The food is really good, as one would expect from a place tied to Lombardo's (across the street), but there's more of an atmosphere of sharing plates rather than getting a meal. The atmosphere is nice, and the staff seem attentive, but not overly pushy, and overall nice and concerned with making their customers feel comfortable. While I might feel that it's a little pricey, the quality of the food is probably worth it.

Excellent cheese plate to go along with the wine! Update: Little Club has become one of my favorites...Chef Gus has done amazing things with the menu here. Kleinhans Music Hall is a historic venue in Buffalo, New York, designed by the architect of the Gateway Arch. It was established as a result of the dying wish of Edward and Mary Seaton Kleinhans, who left a bequest to build a music hall for the people of Buffalo. The hall opened in 1940 with a concert by the Buffalo Philharmonic and has since hosted performances by renowned artists such as Yo-Yo Ma and Gladys Knight.
We went to see the holiday pops with the choir. The music was great but the singing is what did it for me. Gorgeous, trained, wonderful voices.!

Kleinhans is the kind of place that reminds you Buffalo’s got some class. The hall itself is beautiful roomy without feeling cavernous, with acoustics that hit you just right whether it’s a full-blown orchestra or a kids’ recital (shoutout to my daughter for killing it, by the way). Everything was well-organized, from the seating to the flow of people. You can tell this place is run tight. Security was solid, professional, and present without being overbearing, which definitely gave me peace of mind. Everyone had to go through metal detectors, and honestly, I appreciated the attention to safety. Overall, a great venue that treats every event like it matters. Whether you're showing up in a suit or sneakers, you're in for a smooth, quality experience.
John G — Google review
The concert hall is beautiful. For the event I attended, they were funneling multiple lines of people through a single security scanner. It was terribly inefficient. At one point, the scanner was solid red, and they were still pushing people through, which displayed that it was also ineffective. Parking is also an issue. Their lot was priced at $10 and filled quickly, there is free street parking but if you are attending an event that will full the hall you'll want to arrive early to avoid a hike.

The restaurant features a stunning Prohibition-style interior with exposed brick walls and an impressive bar stocked with over 100 bottles of alcohol. Visitors can enjoy elaborate drinks made with surprising ingredients, such as the Tijuana Tea Time cocktail, which includes green tea tequila, Szechuan red peppercorn oil, lemon, and honey.
Oh so proper.. proper drinks, proper service, proper atmosphere- a must to visit, great cocktails. Danny is our favorite to see, really everyone is great but we especially enjoy seeing Danny and absolutely love the cocktails. Hair of the Dog used to be on the menu but to this day I still order it because it’s fantastic and a must to try!

If I'm ever in Buffalo again, I'm coming back here for a kimchi pancake! It came with the beef and I wish there were more of them. Crispy, a tad spicy, and full of flavor. The monkfish dish was also superb. This is such a cozy feeling bar. The service was fine - we sat in the bar area, so not much attention, but that was fine for us. The cocktails are worth the visit as well.

Drinks are a little on the pricey end but are expertly planned and crafted. Food was also excellent. Really nice atmosphere, refined but laid back.

Food and cocktails were very good. They would have gotten 5 stars from me, except for the problem with our reservation. They comped us champagne and a cheese tray, which was nice.

Beautiful restaurant and bar. We started with drinks at the bar. The bartender took the time to talk to us about what we liked and wanted, and shared a lot of details about the liquor we were drinking. The upstairs dining room was cozy and intimate. The menu is small but varied with lots to try if you are a foodie. I had the whole fish and it was perfectly seasoned and cooked, served with a couple of well thought-out sides. They were very accommodating of our large party (with a reservation) and willingly offered separate checks.

The best whiskey and cocktail bar in Buffalo hands down. Would definitely recommend! Great prices also. Very on-par with the rest of the nation's major metro cities as far as quality and selection.

The food and drinks at Buffalo Proper are fantastic! I would highly recommend the roast chicken. The staff is super knowledgeable and helped us order drinks based on our preferences. I can’t wait to go back again.
Archana K — Google review
Not the largest bar in Buffalo, and the menu isn't huge, but they offer daily specials and a pretty solid selection of entrees and coctails. Around 5 beers on tap

Frizzy's Bar & Grill is a delightful spot that has become a beloved hangout for locals over the years. With its vibrant atmosphere, it’s perfect for socializing with friends or meeting new faces, especially when the place is buzzing with energy. The bar features an eclectic mix of patrons, leaning towards a younger crowd, and offers classic bar games like bubble hockey to keep the fun going. While it can get loud at times, it's never overwhelmingly crowded, allowing for enjoyable conversations.
Food until 1am keeps me coming back. Frizzy’s is the go to after concerts.

Wasn't a gay bar but felt safe there. The Alf charcoal on the back wall was a nice touch. Bartender was fun and the drinks were good. Loved the music-- heavy and loud
Rowan R — Google review
Bartender “Taylor” was completely ignorant and just straight up unfriendly. As a woman drinking in Allentown I always thought most of the female bartenders were supposed to be chill and down to earth. Saw that there may be Wi-Fi available and asked for the password and she rudely said, “no” and gave me a dirty look. After ordering a drink and tipping her a few dollars I figured she’d perk up but didn’t. Never had such poor service in my life down Allen. Bathrooms weren’t maintained and smelt like warm piss and throw up.

Awesome all around, love the split jukeboxs for front and back. Great mix of bar games
Joshua B — Google review
Great bar complete with all the classic bar games! Spent an hour playing bubble hockey. Bathrooms were immaculate as well, always a nice touch.

Got food poisoning from their salad, Burger was way undercooked.

Local dive bar. Loud but not too crowded. Decent drinks, bartenders are hit or miss but, mostly nice and quick, some bar games, diverse crowd but on the younger side.
Steph R — Google review
Rude bartender, she decided to take a tip on her own.
