Rachel's Cafe & Creperie is a beloved eatery in Lancaster city, offering a cozy and casual atmosphere that aims to make customers feel at home. With two locations, one near the Lancaster Central Market and several museums, and another more north near the Hands-on House, it has become a staple for both tourists and locals. The cafe is known for its delicious crepes served throughout the day, along with coffee, smoothies, and outdoor seating.
My 12 year-old son said without hesitation he definitely would come back here. He gave it a rating at 10 out of 10. As do I. Its something different and I love that!! The portions are ginormous. The service is really pleasant and speedy. The menu has many options for all diets. There is plenty of parking. They have outdoor and indoor seating. We’re definitely coming back.

I was as truly looking forward to trying the crepes here, but unfortunately, what we received was far from even a decent version. My crepe was even drizzled with a very bright, artificial-looking syrup. On the positive side, the place itself is charming and beautifully decorated, with indoor and patio seating. The coffee was also quite good. If you're new to crepes, you might find them acceptable, but if you're expecting delicious crepes, I'd suggest trying something else on the menu.
Anika N — Google review
Such a cute spot with charming decorations and a warm, cozy vibe that makes it feel instantly welcoming. There’s plenty of seating both inside and outside, along with lots of parking either in the back or across the street, which makes it really convenient. The drink selection is excellent, and both the hot chocolate and coffee were both delicious. The crepes were also fantastic; we tried a few different flavors and they were 10/10 across the board. Overall, it’s a great place to relax and enjoy good food in a homey atmosphere.

We were highly encouraged to stop by Rachel's on our way back from Hershey and it did not disappoint! The crepes are amazing and the kids loved the smoothies! Everyone in our group tried something different and all of us were thrilled. Our new strategy is going to be savory first and then split some of the sweeter options for dessert on our certain return visit. Definitely expect a reasonable wait, but also well worth it. We are already planning our next selections.
Scott G — Google review
We got here 20 min after opening and it was already packed, yet just enough room to be seated right away. We got pumpkin cookie dough cappuccinos that were delicious. The crepes did not disappoint. Our waitress recommended sauces that paired well and I'm so glad we got them. A comforting and memorable meal! Definitely worth waiting even though we didn't have to.
Karen P — Google review
This place gets very busy on a Saturday morning. We got here around 1030am. A wait line to be seated. They do have outdoor seating as well as indoor. Once seated, we were able to order our food. The waitress recommended the French toast crepe, so I picked that one. Very good and can definitely taste the cinnamon which i enjoyed.
Leah M — Google review
We’ve been here several years in a row. First (and last) time. It was not busy at all, our waitress Stella took our order and that’s it. Never saw her again. Another waitress delivered our food. I watched the other waitress repeatedly checking on her tables. It used to be a lot better.
Jo S — Google review
Really good specialty crepes. They are extra large, very filling, but also very tasty. You can't go wrong with any of them. The Oyler and the Thai were particularly good. The wait can be long but worth it. Tons of things to do while waiting around the area. Definitely a must when in downtown Lancaster.

Shady Maple Smorgasbord is a renowned all-you-can-eat buffet in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, offering an extensive selection of Pennsylvania Dutch comfort food. The cafeteria-style space serves up a plethora of dishes, including bacon, freshly made eggs, and various pastry options for breakfast. This iconic establishment boasts a 200-foot buffet featuring smoked beef brisket, kielbasa, salads, homemade breads, and the famous shoofly pie.
They have everything. I went with a group of men for a work event and it was a spectacle to see how much each guy could eat. I thoroughly enjoyed the beef brisket, a medium cut of prime rib, a white fish fillet, and a full full salad. Their desserts are great. Their beats are great. The staff was really friendly to us and seemed like they were having a great time even when they were super busy.

We love to come here once a year for my birthday because your meal is free on your birthday. They are closed on Sundays so if your birthday is on a Sunday you have to come on the following Monday. There is a lot of food. It's one of the biggest buffets in the country. Lots of home cooked foods. They do steak night, seafood, and other theme nights.
Megan B — Google review
The line was literally out the door the day we went. It took us right at an hour to get through the line/pay and get to a table. This was by far the largest buffet I have ever seen. There are alot of places that have a good amount of options but nothing compares to the Shady Maple. I had a good range of foods and everything was good. The buffet had just about everything you can think of to eat. So no matter what you are hungry for they will have it.
Jacob W — Google review
This place is a top-notch buffet honestly the best I’ve ever been to! After the pandemic, buffets have been disappearing and becoming pretty rare, so getting to enjoy one of this quality was such a treat. The food was fantastic across the board, and I didn’t even manage to try a quarter of what was available there’s just that much variety. I’d highly recommend the roast meat; it was insanely good, buttery, and tender, with that perfect melt-in-your-mouth flavor that’s hard to find anywhere else. The restaurant itself was also impressively clean. I noticed workers constantly walking around and cleaning, which was awesome to see, especially in such a busy buffet environment. On top of that, there’s probably the largest gift shop I’ve ever seen located right under the restaurant, packed with all sorts of unique and fun items. Definitely worth checking out before you leave. I can’t recommend this place enough if you’re nearby, don’t miss it!

A must stop when you are visiting the Amish Country. Foods are fresh and constantly being filled. Love the Chopped cheese steak. The pies are always yummy! Homemade Amish Pies! They have every soft drink you can want and and amazing sugar free selection of icees. The ice cream and milkshakes are thick and 100% cream! The also have a huge gift shop on bottom floor.

Okay this is an 8hr trip from our home. We were super excited to try this place. Waited in two separate lines to pay then be seated, think amusement park lines for lunch on a Monday. $20 bucks pp and we had 5ppl. Honestly the food did not match the hype. The selections were AMAZING and there were SO many things to choose from but it needed the salt and pepper treatment. Brisket- do it! Butter noodles- don't do it. The dessert was great and they had lots of choices. They had cool 3d art around the place too. Overall glad we experienced it, won't return unless we return for like breakfast only to give it a shot. Save time for the downstairs gift shop or the market down the hill. That's where I had the most fun!

Shady Maple Smorgasbord is an experience you have to try at least once if you’re anywhere near Lancaster County! The place is massive, spotless, and incredibly well-run. The staff is friendly and efficient, keeping everything stocked and clean even during the busiest hours. The food selection is unreal, endless options from favorites and hearty comfort food to fresh-made desserts and soft-serve ice cream. Everything tasted homemade and fresh, not like your typical buffet. My favorites were the carved meats, fried chicken, mac & cheese, and those desserts (worth the trip alone). It’s definitely a place where you can feel the community vibe, families, travelers, locals, everyone seems to be having a great time. The atmosphere is cozy, the prices are fair for what you get, and the whole experience feels like a celebration of good food and hospitality!

This was my first time here. We went on Tuesday (Seafood Night) and I was very impressed! This buffet was very comparable to some of the top seafood buffets I’ve gone to at the beach! The food was hot and fresh. Even with being very busy, we got right in and were seated near instantly. The staff kept the bar full constantly! Will definitely come again!

Tomato Pie Cafe is a charming eatery located in Lititz, across from the historic Lititz Springs Park and Wilbur Chocolate Factory. The cafe offers a delightful breakfast and lunch menu, featuring their signature tomato pie made with fresh red tomatoes. With an ambiance that captures the swing and big band era, Tomato Pie Cafe seamlessly blends quaint charm with contemporary vibes. Their outdoor patio is pet-friendly, making it a perfect spot to enjoy gourmet coffee and delectable dishes.
We were on the hunt for a reliable breakfast restaurant in downtown Lititz, and we were delighted by Tomato Pie Cafe! We came around 10:30 on a Sunday and were seated immediately. The cafe has a welcoming and cozy atmosphere and a unique menu (with additional seasonal offerings). We got one sweet dish and one savory, and both were equally delicious! We will definitely back to explore more menu items at Tomato Pie Cafe!

We drove to Lititz to try the famous tomato pie! The cozy ambiance added to the experience. We tried their tomato pie meal with carrot fries and herbed scones along with mango smoothie. The food was delicious and had good portions with reasonable pricing, bonus it’s vegetarian-friendly too! A perfect spot to grab a satisfying meal in a warm and welcoming setting.
Priya P — Google review
Great location right in the middle of town, nice little breakfast and lunch menu with seasonal options. We had the Summer Berry Salad, the Cilantro Lime Bowl w/ Chicken, and side of the Rosemary Potatoes. Everything was very flavorful but ended up having to go out to eat after. We were going to order a tomato pie (which you do not see that on very many menus), but everyone was trying to finish up for the day. The fogged tea was perfect! Thanks for having us..
Christopher J — Google review
A nice surprise mid-afternoon. First time visiting Lititz PA and first time here. Great small town country vibe with everything you’d expect from any big city eatery. Cold brew was excellent as was the pumpkin latte (not too sweet like many from the brand name coffee houses we know). Menu was extensive with many options from salad to bowls to paninis and everything in between. We had a delicious and very very fresh spinach artichoke with creamy ricotta over spaghetti squash. Very different. We loved it. The help was attentive and the place was clean. They have a cute porch where you can sit and eat or sip your coffee. It was decorated in a festive fall vibe which was perfect fur this time of year. While we didn’t try their famous tomato pie we were very happy with our choices.
Ann A — Google review
One of my wife and my favorite breakfast spots when we vacation in Lititz. The vibe is super cool and laid back, it’s really nice inside and the staff are always great here. On our stay this last week I’ve had the pancakes which were great, the sausage egg wrap which was nice, and the classic breakfast which was great as well. The bacon is also done perfectly the two times I ordered it. My wife generally gets the classic breakfast as well, and for the first time tried the squash side and absolutely loved it, it’s baked, then tossed on the griddle with a little bit of sugar. She also loves the tea here over anywhere else in town.
Victor N — Google review
First, the tomato pie: Light flaky crust holding in generous amounts of cheese on top of nicely seasoned diced tomatoes. Like the perfect quiche sitting on top of warm Bruschetta. I've really had nothing like it and was not what I expected even after reading all reviews. This is by no means anything resembling a pizza and noone should ever refer to any other pizza as a 'pie' ever again. I got the double and brought one home. The carrot fries had sea salt and you are given a small amount of ranch with them. They were good on their own with sea salt, but to make them great, you needed the ranch. The rest of the table got handhelds. They were slightly small for the price and came with chips or plain greens. They were ok, but nothing special. If we go back, we could get an entree or one of the specials. We were trying to stay on the cheaper side. Looking at other tables, they looked very good. They had a nice selection of homemade deserts. We liked the s'mores cookie and the chocolate peanut butter pie. Overall, we spent a little over $20 a person. The atmosphere is cozy with a classic cafe feel. It had a wrap around porch with outdoor seating. If it's crowded, it will get loud since there is nothing to dampen the sound. It's surrounded by the classic main street USA like town of Lititz. There is a large park across the street that often hosts festivals in the warmer months.

whoa! thats one reaaally good tomato pie! ive never tried one before so this was a great treat! crust was so good and the tomatoes were fresh and bursting with flavor. So glad we tried their signature dish! Their cookie butter was good but a bit too sweet for me. Like sugary sweet. Ham, mushroom and cheese omelette was okay. However service was great! all the staff we encountered were nice and pleasant. Parking is kinda hard but luckily we came on an early saturday morning so the bank across was closed and the hostess mentioned we can just park there on their lot which we did lol. Inside was cozy, like going into a historic house (which it probably was idk lol). The restroom was pretty small and tight fyi.
Kimberly T — Google review
if i could give 10 stars i would. i had been waiting to try this place for almost a decade but was never in the area before they closed. it was worth the wait! highly recommend the pumpkin chai, tastes like real pumpkin not artificial syrup. also recommend the chipotle chicken and the spinach artichoke spaghetti squash. the antique and old world vibe inside is timeless. the server was very attentive and personable. can't wait to come back!

Nestled in the heart of downtown Lancaster, Annie Bailey's Irish Public House is a delightful spot that captures the essence of an authentic Irish pub. Housed in a charming Victorian-era building, this lively establishment boasts dark wooden furnishings imported from Ireland and offers a menu filled with beloved classics like shepherd's pie and fish-and-chips. With at least ten rotating beers on tap and an extensive selection of Irish whiskey, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
Nice, on-theme Irish Pub with a good selection of inspired dishes. If you like lamb, the shepard’s pie is excellent. The onion soup and chocolate tart were also very good. Vegetarian dishes also available. Great price for a comfortable and delicious dining experience.

3 of us went to dinner, wanting to try something new. I got the reuben which wasn't anything to write home about and quite dry. A friend got the braised short rib and was disappointed in how much fat came with it. The cheesesteak egg rolls were phenomenal and melted in your mouth, highly recommend. The fries/chips are pretty awesome, worth the try. The cocktails were 50/50. Original, bold flavors, but a little strong. One had something to do with absinthe which was a bit much for our table and the other was a customized lemon drop drink which was delicious so maybe one just wasn't for us. The service was incredible as was the restaurant decor. I'd definitely try again just with other items on the menu that I was tossing back and forth on when ordering. I'd recommend just for the service and atmosphere - they're worth the business. The food I haven't given up on - maybe just a bad day so total 4 stars.
Jon R — Google review
The food was very good here. We had bangers and mash, wings, and irish soda bread. It was all good. We sat outside and that was nice. Service was a little slow and the wait staff appeared to be tasked with multiple roles so service was a bit slow but he handled ot reasonably well. We enjoyed the experience and will continue to patronize this venue.

We went St Patty's Day weekend and even though it is probably their busiest weekend of the year we were taken great care of! I was I had more of an appetite because everything looked amazing!!! The Irishtini was a life-changing twist on a classic and the dessert was even made with Guinness!

First time coming here with my son who’s been before. Love the atmosphere; I had a daiquiri and shepherd’s pie. My husband had the Mahi Mahi sandwich and enjoyed it. Brandon was excellent as our server; he recognized my son from before. That’s a plus in my book!

I loved this spot!! The service was fantastic- our bartender was so sweet and attentive, making sure our water glasses stayed full. He gave us a few samples of drinks during our time there which we loved (I can’t remember him name but he made an incredible espresso martini!! Thank you for letting us try a taste!) my friend and I split the Irish nachos, then the sticky toffee pudding and chocolate tart, and everything was 11/10. I must have sounded like a complete fool raving about each bite I took, but it was seriously some of the best food I’ve had in a while. Prices were great, service and atmosphere were wonderful; I will definitely come back next time I’m in the area 👏
Olivia B — Google review
I have enjoyed every dish here. Fish n chips is a good crunchy fish, the pot pie is delicious and I love that I can order a wonderful shepherds pie!
Mike B — Google review
Made two visits on my recent trip and loved them both. I first came for happy hour for the delicious Bites and sips. I had cheesesteak rolls and wings. They were some of the most authentic Buffalo wings ever! My dinner visit I brought some friends in tow and it consisted of ordering a Ceasars salad and another beverage. Both experiences in a few days were great. I wish the happy hour was extended until 7 pm that's how good it is! Also, maybe play some music in the atmosphere. It would def add to the ambiance. Can't wait to visit again!

Nestled in Strasburg, Speckled Hen Coffee is a contemporary cafe that offers a relaxed atmosphere and locally sourced breakfast, sandwiches, and global mains. The menu includes options for all-day breakfast as well as lunch and dinner. Families can enjoy the kids' menu while children play in the entertaining play area. This coffee shop prides itself on artisan food and craft coffee beverages made with high-quality, locally sourced ingredients.
Absolutely fantastic. The food is great and plated so nicely. Great portion sizes and the coffee is wonderful. Spent about $40 on 2 full breakfasts, kids meal, very large fruit bowl and 2 large coffees. You pick a seat, then go up to order. You receive an order tracker and they bring out the food, pretty quickly especially for being pretty busy.

Great breakfast/brunch spot. They have a good sized menu with plenty of options to satisfy just about anyone. The bakery case is full of delicious treats. The coffee was excellent. We even purchased a plant!

Speckled hen has delicious coffee and food. It’s a fun place to eat and enjoy time with others. It’s definitely popular and because of that it is always busy and a bit loud. It’s nice because there are seating options inside and outside. The autumn bowl is AMAZING. I loved it. So far I’ve never had any food or coffee that I didn’t like.
Jessica W — Google review
We dined here because we stayed at the Carriage Inn across the street. You receive a voucher toward breakfast by staying there. $40+ meal ended up costing about $20. Not bad. Food was good with one exception. I ordered the French toast stack, and it contained a charred piece of bacon. I dont know if they were lazy or thought they would get away with hiding a carcinogen in my food, but I saw it and documented it here. Unacceptable. The hot tea and coffee are brewed strong as hell so be aware if that's not your style. I did not like having to get up to get simple things like creamer and sugar. That's the way this restaurant operates but I hated it. Staff was reasonably friendly and accommodating. We all enjoyed our meals.
Derek B — Google review
This is by far the best breakfast cafe we have been in the U.S. Amazing coffee, amazing food, outstanding service, great merchandise. The owner/ manager came and talked to the new folks in the cafe and collected feedback. America at its best. What more can a person want. Can we mark this a 6 star please!
Milcho U — Google review
Great place! They were able to slightly customize my drink just the way I wanted, which I really appreciated. The eggs were delicious, and the croissant was excellent too. I’ll definitely be coming back!
Kseniia R — Google review
One of the best vanilla lattes that I’ve ever had in my life (and I drink a TON of coffee)! It was sweet, hot, and like a little piece of artwork that I initially didn’t want to destroy. The food was also well-prepared and made with fresh ingredients. The staff really stood out as being friendly and efficient. This was our last stop on our way out of Lancaster, which was bittersweet, but we look forward to coming back again next year! PS—I hope you still have that lantern painting available! I’m still kicking myself for not buying it!!

Average food but TABLES are incredibly small, plates are long and rectangular. NOT enough room for 2 people to put their meal. Food falls off skinny plates off small tables THAT WE BUS. Why do we tip? Loud as a Chucky Cheese. Last trip there. Good for family with small kids, prices high though.

Cafe One Eight is a cozy spot located on Orange Street in the heart of Lancaster. This bright and inviting cafe offers a variety of espresso drinks, smoothies, breakfast plates, salads, and sandwiches. The ambiance is rustic with wooden benches and a warm atmosphere. They serve Square One's roast coffee and take pride in their delicious food offerings. From egg sandwiches to breakfast burritos, diners have plenty of options to choose from.
This was a great drop in for a quick lunch on the road. We had the southwest salad and the maple bowl. They were both tasty and healthy (we had our dressings on the side). The shop is small but able to seat several people. Various table heights from mid-tall to cocktail with stools and regular sized tables and a bar in the window. We parked across the street in the garage which was easier than street parking (which is aggressive)! The food arrived quickly. The bathrooms were clean.

I absolutely enjoy eating at Cafe One Eight the atmosphere and ambience, indoor outdoor seating, as well as a super sweet employees. Oh the menu options can’t forget that. You’ll definitely find something you’d enjoy from breakfast bowls or sandwich and Lunch! The drink options are great. They usually have a specialty written on the board to choose from. In case you’d like to mix it up with a creative creation.

Café One Eight is a fancy yet cozy little gem in Lancaster! The ambiance is inviting, making it a perfect spot to relax. I thoroughly enjoyed both the food and drinks; everything was fresh and flavorful. If you're looking for a charming place to unwind with good eats and beverages, I highly recommend checking this place out!

I came in for lunch today and the place was busy. The small wait wasn't an issue, as my salad was really good. You get a lot of food for your money, and the staff were very pleasant.

This is a wonderful place to eat, drink, meet a friend, or just relax. The food is delicious. I had the sharshuka and enjoyed it tremendously! The service was very friendly. The atmosphere is calm. Lots of natural night with the large windows. Lots of wood for natural and calm atmosphere. Plenty of seating for a group or individuals. I could see myself coming for breakfast and reading through lunch and dinner. The roast beef sandwich was good also. I’d definitely visit here again!

My husband and I love Prince street cafe but decided to give cafe one eight a try while visiting lancaster. The service was pleasant and relatively quick, and the place was busy and clean. I ordered the pumpkin spice chai latte but the flavor was so strong I couldn't drink it. They agreed to remake a regular latte which wasn't drinkable unless I added 4 packs of sugar just to cut the bitterness. I ended up giving my drink to my husband. We also ordered the breakfast egg sandwiches and unfortunately they were greasy and flavorless. We both agreed that if they added a spicy mustard or aioli, the sandwiches would be better. Maybe the other items are good but we will most likely stick to Prince Street Cafe where the coffee is amazing.

Cute little restaurant/ cafe in Lancaster. The service and atmosphere was great! Food had a very homemade vibe. It was a healthy brunch! Only comment is that i wish there was salt on the table! The cafe was bustling, but we did not have a long wait time. Overall a great experience!

Great cafe in downtown Lancaster! I got a seasonal apple pie chai latte, and it was delicious and had a really good and strong apple flavor. We got two pastries, and the almond croissant was a standout - scrumptious and so good.

I have been there twice this summer. Both times the Manager and staff was excellent! They couldn’t be friendlier or more professional! The room was very clean and comfortable. The bed was sturdy and good for my bad back. I loved the buffet breakfast! Lots to choose from. Very fresh and great omelette section! Buffet Brunch is amazing! Best for the money!!!! Really good quality! I also visited the cafe, great coffee , snack food and amazing muffins! I have been to a lot of places, I live on the Jersey shore and this place as by far one of the best!!! The rates are unbelievable for what you get! You would pay double at least in Jersey and not as good!! Oh last be not least! The ground are breathtaking! Love the beautiful animals that I went to feed every morning! This place is a keeper! Will be back soon for fall!’ Can’t wait!!.

This place is great! We started off on a rough note, the room we got was clearly not what is pictured on their website. I spoke to the management and they took care of it. Gave us a different beautiful room at no additional cost and made sure the rest of our stay was flawless. Food was awesome. The resort itself was beautiful and the pool was great, a little chilly but the kids didn’t care. The employees there were so nice and very accommodating. Would definitely stay again.

I’ve been staying at Hershey Farm since I was 6 I’m 46 now. This is my home away from home the staff treats you like family with open arms. The new building since having a fire. Is so modernized but with a farmstead feel. Good food never disappoints my wife loves the baked French Toast. We make it a point to stay 1-2 times a year. Keep up the great job. God Bless

Recently stayed at the Hershey Farm Inn and I will start off by saying that the property is absolute beautiful you’re surrounded by greenery and the structure with the shops and restaurant is built very nicely. They do have different options for the rooms. We stayed in the cottage House and unfortunately, for the first night didn’t have a great experience. There was an issue with our room and they were not able to move us since they were fully booked. However, the next day management took care of the issue with our room and our second night stay was much better. The room is nothing lavish. It’s pretty small and basic. I suggestion that would be nice is if they added a built-in shampoo, conditioner, and body wash into the Showers. I would consider staying here again and possibly in the actual main hotel. Something we really enjoyed was the pool and the buffet breakfast. There was a great selection of food and the restaurant was very nice as well.

Didn't stay at resort, went to sights and sounds play Thursday evening and the restaurant was literally 50 yds from theater. Thought I could eat, had absolutely no idea the price was $33/person and the food was either overcooked and bland or the dining area was so packed with tour busses it took 25 mins to make 1 plate. Would not recommend and will not return again.

Absolutely loved our stay at Hersey Farm Resort and will choose this place for our next visit. The grounds are wonderful, rooms are very upscale with the most comfortable mattresses I have ever slept on, and the breakfast smorgasbord was delicious and abundant! There was a slight issue, but management resolved it to my satisfaction. Also, the staff at the front desk were wonderful. Only recommendation for improvement is for more room for the little goats stuck in those small caged areas. Someone mentioned there were plans to provide more space to them, and I hope so because they made me sad every morning on my walk.

This review is for the buffet/smorgasbord. Dare I say it’s better than Shady Maple for breakfast. Every item on the buffet was high quality. I loved the baked oatmeal, and the pancakes, they had blueberry, and chocolate chip. They also have an omelet and waffle station. The soft serve ice cream is some the best I’ve had outside of Japan (try the chocolate). All the staff were so friendly and pleasant also. I can’t wait to come back and try their lunch/dinner and maybe even stay for the night. The restaurant is really bright and open too with lots of windows! Went to the Smorgasbord after Sight & Sound Theatre show today. This was our 1st time back to the Hershey Farm buffet since 12/2017. Huge disappointment. The food used to be warm and flavorful and the carved prime rib was the best. Now the food is cold, and flavorless with dry meat and you can’t even get a warm roll. There is no more carving station. The only items we enjoyed were desserts. Waitress was great. We miss the country charm of the old Hershey Resort and the great food.

Lancaster Brewing Company is an award-winning brewery and brewpub that offers a relaxed dining experience and brew room tours. The venue features clean, open rooms with wooden furnishings and a tree-shaded deck for outdoor seating. Guests can enjoy microbrew samplers of eleven different Lancaster Brewing Company beers on tap, along with adventurous American cuisine such as grilled lamb burgers, amber ale battered fish and chips, and blackened North Atlantic Salmon.
I used to work across the street and would get the lamb burger and fries every Friday. It’s been years so I don’t get to eat there often. Ordered the Pittsburgh Steak Salad through Door Dash the other day. I wish there was more shredded cheese and dressing included, but the quality did not disappoint and I’ll continue to order from them. Great food and the Lancaster restaurant itself is super cute, good atmosphere, excellent staff. When I lived in Harrisburg I’d eat and order at the one there too. Harrisburg location not as good as the Lancaster location, never been to the one out Route 30.

Great selection of food and locally brewed beer. We tried a mixed flight, very reasonable price and serving size. Also had a few samples. Did not have a single beer that was not delicious. They definitely know what they are doing. If you like light and flavorful, try the Lancaster Lager. Like something a bit sweet and dark with a long finish? Try the Shoofly Porter. She had the Reuben, delicious take on a time honored classic. He had the fish and chips. Everything cooked just right. They have an outdoor patio, but it was pouring rain when we went there. So we ate inside. 🙂 Highly recommend Lancaster Brewing Company, and will definitely return!

My mushroom Swiss burger was professionally prepared with a hint of charbroil which gave it an extra level of flavor. I was surprised I ate more than two fries as I had promised them to my husband. I am not sure how they prepared them but I did eat more than my normal. I was super happy that this brewery offers more than beer. I was thrilled to order a cup of coffee. The menu has a lovely mix of dining options. I have included a menu in my pictures. This Brewery is featured on the Discovery Lancaster Brew Trail. Grab your friends or family and enjoy a a pleasant dining experience.

I'm so glad we found LBC this past weekend! Everything we tried was absolutely delicious. We got the crab dip and pot stickers and we're very impressed with both the flavor and sheer quantity 👌 I was a bit hesitant on the $12 uncharged for steak on my Greek salad but that all changed when I saw that it was an entire sirloin cooked to perfection. Definitely would recommend

Our server Lindsey was exceptional and made our visit very enjoyable—she was great, bringing us multiple samples and giving many recommendations. Cocktails were amazing and we drank several varieties of beer (after all the samples😂) all were very good. We only had a few apps, pretzel, buffalo cauliflower and hummus platter but all were very good with ample portions. Also nice carry out beer selection and priced well. My only recommendation would be some music on the patio but I would definitely recommend a visit here.

Lancaster Central Market is a historic landmark housed in an 1800s brick building, offering a wide array of local cheeses, meats, produce, and ethnic cuisines. Visitors can explore the market on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays to discover Pennsylvania Dutch doughnuts, empanadas, falafel, charcuterie-style meats, artisanal cheeses, and hand-carved sandwiches.
Prepare to be overwhelmed (in the best possible way!) by variety of delicious treats. You'll find everything from artisanal cheeses and meats, to various prepared foods, perfect for a quick bite or a meal at home. The bread and warm pastries is simply irresistible. You must try pretzels, although they don’t appear as ginormous as Auntie Anne’s ones they are filling and oh so delicious! And for honey lovers- this is your place! I got wildflower, honey, basswood honey and even buckwheat honey! So excited to try them!

Exciting and very busy place on a Saturday. We arrived to check it out on a lovely bright sunny day. Food vendors inside and out musicians the smell of baked goods and coffee. We looked at all of our choices for lunch and decided on ntwo deli sandwiches from Deli Grassi which was turkey with peppers,, lettuce and tomatoes on freshly baked bread from Philly. $26 for two sandwiches. Had two cokes and got some Boston custard donuts from the Amish Red Maple Bakery. Very crowded and you have to pay to park. So many choices inside and out check it out for yourself. 🌹

Absolutely loved this indoor market. If you like fresh veggies, locally sourced milk products, fresh meat, etc., you will love Central Market. It gets busy as the morning moves on, so get your items early. The fudge from Uncle Leroy's Candy Kitchen and the beef sticks sold by S. Clyde Weaver are top notch. Vendors we purchased from were friendly and worked efficiently. Loved the fresh vegetable stands as well. You will need to pay for parking and watch your time closely! Allow at least an hour if you are someone who likes to peruse nearly every vendor.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A true gem in the heart of Lancaster! Lancaster Central Market is not just a market—it’s a living institution. As soon as you walk in, you’re hit with the vibrant energy of local growers, bakers, butchers, and artisans who take real pride in their craft. Every vendor feels like a piece of Lancaster’s living history, and you can taste that authenticity in everything from the fresh produce and smoked meats to the handmade pretzels and Amish baked goods. It’s clean, well-organized, and full of character. The standholders are genuinely friendly and knowledgeable—no pushy sales tactics here, just people who know their products and love what they do. I especially recommend grabbing a coffee and breakfast sandwich and soaking in the atmosphere before browsing the stalls. Whether you’re shopping for groceries, souvenirs, or just want to experience a slice of Lancaster culture, this place delivers. Pro tip: get there early, bring cash, and don’t skip the fresh donuts. Five stars without hesitation—Lancaster Central Market is the real deal.

What a find! My wife and I wanted a special place to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary, and we just happened to be in Lancaster, PA. The Yelp and Google reviews for this restaurant have it as one of the highest rated fine dining establishments in the entire area... I think the reviews are too low. The meal was delicious... everything we ate, from appetizers to main course was top notch food. You can tell that they take the time to make sure that all their food is made with the best ingredients and finest preparation as it was all so good! We wish there was one in our area... but this will always give us something to look forward to anytime we visit Amish country!

One of the best restaurants on the planet, I'm not kidding you, this is my new favorite restaurant in all the world. The neat thing is that it is right here in Lancaster, we discovered it using this new App called "Seed Oil Scout" if you want to eat healthier, I would highly recommend joining. It is new so it is going to take some time for restaurants to get reviewed and listed but there are not very many restaurants serving healthy food to begin with. This place is, Farm to table!! My wife and I were blown away by the flavors, she said that her salad made her think that she was at her grandma's house. I started with their trademark beef tartare which comes with a quail egg in the center, delicious, I ran out of wafers and used the rest of our bread to finish. My wife had a couple of drinks which were very nice. We shared the steak and a taco platter with homemade taco shells. I didn't even want to eat the steak or taco, they looked so beautiful. It didn't end there, the desserts were just as good. My wife had a tart and I homemade peach sorbet. I didn't even mention the service, which was absolutely superb. We will be returning as soon as humanly possible. We have already told several friends that frequent Lancaster, Pa

The best dinning experience we had in our 3 day in Lancaster. Every dished from this restaurant is good, from the starters- dessert. The staff, he was so friendly and come to check on us frequently, despite we came with our baby stroller and we need to seat in a different room, quite aside from the main place. I'M addicted to beef tartare therefore I should give it a try here. And as expected it was excellent from the taste to the freshness, I also love that they have generous crossing to finish the good amount of tartare, however We still had to order another one because is too. Highly recommended 👌 If we happen to pass by Lancaster we will definitely coming back 😀

A memorable meal, that's for sure. The food is fresh and cooked with great care, the staff is attentive, and the wine selection runs the whole gamut but with great local representation. Very kind staff, just all around amazing. HIGHLY recommended if you’re ever in Lancaster!

We booked a wedding rehearsal dinner at this wonderful restaurant for a group of 30 and could not be happier. The service and the food were impeccable. The atmosphere was elegant with crisp, white tablecloths and super nice mood lighting. Ladan, our event coordinator, was so attentive during the planning phase and also during the dinner itself. She was such a pleasure to work with and made us feel completely comfortable that everything would go okay, and it absolutely did. The food was incredible- fresh, hot and perfectly seasoned. All of our guests were from out of town and said they would love to move to Lancaster to enjoy the food over and over again. We will definitely be making John J. Can’t recommend this place enough. Outdoor seating was perfect, quiet and beautiful even on a chilly night. Zach was one of the best servers we’ve had anywhere in a very long time, attentive and quick while leaving us to enjoy ourselves plenty. The Rye Society was one of, if not the best whiskey drinks I’ve ever had, the food was perfect, and the desserts and espresso martinis were amazing. My girl and I are looking for excuses to come back to Lancaster just to eat here again. Do not miss out on this experience. This was our first time here! We were happy to be able to get a 4:45 reservation on a Saturday the day before. Our upstairs server (Elizabeth, I think?) was friendly, kind and witty. Luckily we came during restaurant week, which was not planned, and they had a lovely special going on, which I took advantage of. I was able to get an appetizer, meal and dessert for $65, which was a phenomenal price! The only item I didnt care for was the lobster bisque. Everything else was absolutely delicious, not that the bisque was terrible. We will definitely be back again.

We had the most amazing wedding anniversary dinner here. Reservations are a must because the Belvedere is so popular. But since we had a reservation, were welcomed and quickly ushered to our table. Our waitress Ari was so attentive and was so apologetic when we had a bill discrepancy that I caught. The food was perfection. My wife loved her lavender cocktail. It even had a sprig of dried lavender in it! We both gushed over the Chocolate Hazelnut Rocher. It was the perfect balance of sweet and salty. And of course the Chicken Piccata and Grilled Filet Mignon were expertly presented and tasted amazing. And I can't forget my Petite grilled Caesar Salad. Also excellent. An evening to remember. We will be back.

We went with another couple and had a very good dinner. We split two salads that I forgot to take a picture of and then had chicken piccata, duck breast and salmon. The chicken was a particularly large serving. We had glasses of wine and cocktails so our bill was pretty high.

My husband and I decided to eat here for our first wedding anniversary on September 7th. We have been here before and fell in love with the food, the atmosphere, and the drinks. However, they simply dropped the ball during this visit. Everything, and I genuinely mean each food item we ordered, from the salad, to the burger, to the salmon dish we ordered was ruined by the overwhelming taste of salt. The belvie bread and sliders were the only good items we ordered. I did complain to my waitress regarding the saltiness of our food and she offered to have it remade, but even the salads we received before the main course were salty and I saw no point. I ended up not eating the burger as I genuinely couldn’t consume it and calling it a day. Other than that, the waitress didn’t offer to reduce the prices of the meals or offer any other solution. We paid the full $27 for an inedible burger, and full price for the salmon that was also just insanely salty. Due to this experience, I am highly disappointed and don’t really see myself spending more money here in the future.

The only 5 star I've ever put for a restaurant. I had the burger and chip dip. The burger was melt in your mouth like butter, probably the best burger I ever had, got it in medium. The lobster chip dip was also the best chip I've ever eaten. Definitely top 5 restaurants in my list.

Really spectacular overall, I loved everything about my dining experience. The dining rooms are fabulous, as is the outdoor patio where I could often smell the fresh flowers still blooming all around the table. The service was friendly and unobtrusive with excellent recommendations. The food was very well prepared. The tuna crudo with apple was so refreshing, the salmon cooked perfectly with the most flavorful lentils I've ever had, and the steak with foie gras potato puree was a show stopper. Everything was seasoned perfectly. There are layers of flavor in each bite of all the plates I tasted. Cherry pistachio cheesecake was also amazing. Excellent dinner!

I chose to wait because the reviews were very good and I wanted to check the place out. Gracie's did not disappoint! We got Eggs Benedict, with the Breast Cancer Awareness pink hollandaise sauce. Fun and tasty! Food was top rate! Service was absolutely awesome! Atmosphere was open and warm but fun and inviting. Prices were reasonable. I will return the next time I am visiting the Lancaster area. Would recommend 100%.

She absolutely loved them, and it turned our breakfast into a memorable family moment. The food was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. If you’re looking for a charming place with great food and exceptional service, this is it. Highly recommended!

Beautiful little eatery, old and cozy with a touch of eclectic art. Friendly atmosphere, and extremely friendly staff. The food was beyond amazing. I had the Indian Omelet, I loved it. I love spicy food and that absolutely hit the spot. I also enjoyed the cooked cherry tomatoes that can with it. The fried potatoes were perfect as well. Such a great combination of tastes. The baked oatmeal was a fun side. Also they serve Gluten free items as well. Again perfect taste. Parking is easy, parking garage is caddy corner from the restaurant and there is on street parking. It's close to everything in downtown Lancaster. I will definitely eat there again❤️❤️

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE! Not only was the food so tasty ( I ordered the Florentine omelette) but the owner Johnny was so incredibly genuine, warm and welcoming. If I ever find myself in downtown Lancaster again, I am definitely coming back!! Thank you again “On Orange” for a wonderful breakfast!❤️❤️

We sat down in the lower dining area on a snowy day some time ago. Really felt like you were eating in an old pub. Very cozy and warm. Food was delicious, the stewed tomatoes were perfect compliments to our omelets! Grab a cup of coffee and enjoy the coziness! But make sure you get there early so you get a seat quickly!

I've lived in lancaster almost my whole life and never knew this place existed. It is absolutely freaking adorable. It's a while vibe. The owner was super chill and the wait staff was great. The food was so good. I'm definitely coming here again and spreading the word. Thank you so much for this first time experience. 💕

Eclectic restaurant in Lancaster PA for breakfast and brunch. Waffles were light and fluffy. Bacon was cooked perfectly. Chillaquiles were spiced right. We got there 10 minutes before they opened and there was already a line....got there early!

Still the best! Great service, fantastic food. Consistently great. This is the best place for breakfast in Lancaster. They have everything from basic breakfast to chilaquiles. I highly recommend the multi grain bread. The coffee is delicious. All ingredients are locally sourced. Get there early, unless you like to wait for a table.

It was one of the best breakfast I’ve ever had. I’m not gonna lie. The staff was super nice and no words to describe the food. Wish they could be in NY as well. The waffles topped with vanilla ice cream and Orange special French toast made my day, omg… Thank you! We will definitely go back when we visit Lancaster again.

American restaurant
Breakfast restaurant
Neptune Diner, located at 924 North Prince Street in Lancaster, is a classic American and Greek diner offering a vast menu of homestyle cooking from morning to night. Established in 1994, this family-owned business has been voted the best diner for six consecutive years by the Travel Channel. The diner's vintage setting, reminiscent of a circa 1950s rail car, provides a unique dining experience. Patrons rave about their breakfast items and signature dish, the Meatloaf Stack.
Food- 5/5 Service- 4/5 Ambiance- 5/5 Drinks- 5/5 Value- 5/5 Love an old school diner care and Neptune Diner does not disappoint. If you are in the area this place is fantastic. The food is good. Great portions for what you are paying. The buttermilk pancakes were very flavorful and perfectly fluffy. I got cinnamon swirl pancakes and they were delicious. My wife got eggs Benedict and it was made to perfection. Only drinks we got were apple juice, chocolate milk, and coffee, and they were all good. The waitress (whose name escapes me at this moment) was wonderful. Extremely pleasant, helpful and wonderful with my kids. Really enjoyed our breakfast here and also really enjoyed the prices! Good bang for your buck. Definitely will save for a future visit.

My friend Anita and I were out running errands, and it was lunchtime. Since we were close by, I suggested Neptune Diner because they serve 24-hour breakfast. I was eager to compare their chipped beef on toast and potatoes with the one I had at Gus's Diner on Friday. However, I was swayed by their Gyro special. Being that the owners were Greek, I was convinced it would be delicious. And I was right! We were greeted warmly upon entering and seated in a booth. Almost immediately, menus were provided, and we were welcomed by our server. He took our drink orders and promptly delivered them to the table. By then, both Anita and I had decided on the Gyros. We ordered them, and it seemed they were served in no time. The picture that follows shows how large it was. It was packed with gyro meat, and it looked like a garden salad had grown on top! The first bite was simply delicious. Our server was wonderful. He seemed to know exactly when to check on us, asking if everything was okay and if we needed drink refills. A generous portion of French fries was served with the meal. They were hot, soft in the center, and crispy on the outside, just how I like them. We finished our meal and were again warmly thanked for our business. They asked us to come back and see them again. Needless to say, I will, and I encourage others to do the same.

Classic PA diner. I was amazed at how delicious everything was: the straight-ahead black coffee was served in diner mugs with Neptune on one side and an injury lawyer ad on the other, the Greek omelette was light, fluffy, and perfectly filled, and the home fries were grilled crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Several hot sauces to choose from. Our beautiful waitress was playful and welcoming and had been working there for 52 years! She kindly described the scrapple to us, and we quickly passed on that! The house was full of regulars, many of whom whose names we knew by the time we left! A truly memorable breakfast experience.

Honestly a fantastic diner experience. All the food was tasty, the menu was large enough to satisfy a range of appetites without being overwhelming. Service was friendly and timely. We had no issue getting a seat but it was pretty busy. Easy parking right next to the diner.

Food isn’t the best. The fries need fried and some salt should be put on… very very bland. Service was friendly but waited on refills and had to ask to get them. I’m sure their breakfast is much better than their lunch items but I’ll have to try another time.

Kitchy- but naturally. Old skool diner- trailer/tin can stayed with booths and counter seating. Menu heavy on eggs/breakfast. Good /interesting sandwiches. Fresh cut fries. Our sour dough bread, bacon, turkey, FRIED PICKLES sandwhich.... yummmmmmm. Hope. To Hope to go back soon.

Prince Street Cafe in Lancaster is a popular, independently owned cafe and coffee shop located in downtown. The rustic, brick-walled space offers a local focus with hand-selected coffees, tea, smoothies, and milkshakes. Their menu features hearty breakfast options like the breakfast burrito or baked oatmeal, as well as sandwiches, quesadillas, soups, and salads. Additionally, they offer vegan items such as the Potato Burrito and South West Burrito.
Honestly the best cafe environment in Lanc and surrounding areas!! The front worker (i think he name is Paige?) was so sweet and went out of her way to find out if anything had an allergy of mine in it and she did not act inconvenienced at ALL! The banana bread was so good and same with the matcha. It was great environment to get some work done! Very bright and friendly!

My salad was unreasonably small for $17!!! In an already small bowl then it was very minimal and not even filled! Overall taste was good but very upset I paid so much for so little. I have eaten this salad multiple times here and it gets smaller each order
Chandra — Google review
we stopped here for brunch on our way home from Hersheypark. We ordered takeout and the wait was only 25 minutes around 11:30 on a Sunday. We got each of the vegan burritos and shared. As well as a vegan banana chai bread and a vegan brownie. I preferred the potato burrito, but my husband preferred the vegan sausage & egg burrito. I would have enjoyed the sausage burrito better if it wasn’t so wet and juicy. You couldn’t tell it was aioli because there was so much hot liquid inside. Also, one side was grilled to a crisp while the other side was doughy. (The egg and sausage were cooked very nicely though) The potato burrito was much more cohesive and had way better overall texture and was consistently grilled. And I appreciated the extra punch of flavor that came from the bell peppers. I couldn’t really tell there was aioli on this either. (Maybe it’d be better on the side and dipped) The chai banana bread was phenomenal! It had a coffee cake type of crumble on top, and the texture was consistent throughout. (There was a teeeeny bit of gumminess as you chew it up, but it wasn’t a problem.) The brownie is definitely NOT a brownie. It’s 100% chocolate cake. (Tasty chocolate cake, but disappointing if you were expecting a brownie. It’s crumbly and fluffy, not dense at all.) we ate half on sunday, wrapped it back up and when i went to take a photo on Monday morning, it was already showing initial signs of mold on top. That was the 6th, but the package says it would be good until the 9th. It also didn’t say to refrigerate, and I didn’t think 1 day on the counter would have been a problem (most muffins and cakes do just fine on the counter for a day). But apparently it was a problem? I picked those tiny bits off and still ate it. It was still tasty… chocolate cake, lol. We sat at the little bistro tables outside at just the right time, because when noon rolled around, the sun peeked around the building and started beating down. No awning or umbrellas in sight.

Wanted to leave a two stars, but the scone was okay. I'm really turned off by this generation of "artisan" coffee roasters who ruin coffee. Expresso was a light city roast at most, leaving a tinny, sour taste to the coffee. It took generations to make coffee consistent and bold. It took one generation to ruin it. Service wasn't terrible. Seating is kinda spars and not really comfortable. But, lots of people seem to like the place.

Prince St Cafe is the kind of cozy place to get an afternoon lunch on a lazy weekend. Easily accessible, it's a place worth trying out if you find yourself downtown. While the food is great, portion sizes are a big small and prices are a bit high. At least they have a couple vegan options. Will probably only come by every now and then, but it's worth it!
Will M — Google review
you were good, i'm waiting for you to be great. let's get this out of the way first, the portion sizes are ridiculous for the price. 17 dollars for what is essentially a ramekin of salad, no matter how good it tastes, is crazy. it does taste pretty good though. it's not just the food either, their "large" drink is the size of a small from most other coffee places. everything from prince street is always fresh and tastes good, but i can also get that elsewhere for half the price. other than that, the atmosphere is really comfy. i have spent hours in here talking with friends and studying without even realizing it. really good vibes. will i come here again? yeah. but will i regret it after? my stomach won't, but my wallet definitely will.

Well I didn’t expect pizza like this. This is a great little pizza joint in Lancaster that will knock your socks off. The menu is perfect with great options. We had the Brussels, pep pizza and the white with garlic and ricotta. I can’t wait to go back and experience more. They have glizzies too…. Beer selection is great as well.

We walked here to enjoy some delicious food and drinks. A cute little bar. The pizza is delicious if you enjoy thin crust pizza. The chicken thigh sandwich was very good. We ordered at the front and both of our orders ended up being wrong but they fixed the issues and let us keep the wrong food as we waited for the correct food. Service was great and they correct our issue with ease.

Great spot for beer and snacks. Unique style of pizza that will miss for those looking for NY or NJ styles but is very good on its own. Tomato pie is great. Recommend as a food stop after hitting the beer garden, easy lunch spot, or anyone looking to check out interesting local eateries. One of my favorites as a local. Outdoor seating available and dog friendly. Wheelchair accessible.

We just had lunch at The Fridge in Lancaster, PA and really enjoyed it. The pepperoni pizza was excellent—super thin, crunchy crust with great flavor. The Caesar salad was just okay; the chicken was pretty sparse. But the hot dogs stole the show! We tried both the Kraut Dog and the Chicago Dog, and they were fantastic. The all-beef dogs are top quality and the toppings were spot on. We’ll definitely be back!

Not at all what we expected from online search and menu. They were out of a lot of items ("big group just came in and cleaned us out", they said.) Candidly I liked the chicken tacos, but was sick the next morning. Pizza was okay, pretzels okay. Only Boylan sodas, so for me the driver, not what I would have liked. It's a dive bar with attempted epicurian food. I think the black toilets speak for themselves.

My favorite restaurant on the planet. This place started my love of craft beer. Plus, tremendous pizza options and the hot dogs are truly wonderful. Also, don't sleep on the hummus. Update (5/10/23): Surprise, it's still great. We got the Bat Dog (as per usual), potato wedges, curry cauliflower, beef tacos and the garlic mac and cheese, and it was all great. Had Forest and Main and Hidden River off tap, and then grabbed a can of Little Log Cabin, which were all terrific. Staff was great as always. Oh! And we got a slice of tomato pie!

Thin crust pizza is delicious, nice crispy crust with good cheese and a nice thin and flavorful sauce. Pretzel sticks are great, they were a lighter pretzel covered in a garlic butter sauce. Tons of beer options, this place is so chill we sat there 2 hours just having a couple beers on a Sunday afternoon. Was great

First time coming here with a friend and I wasn’t disappointed! Neither of us waited that long for our food and it was delicious! Best pizza I’ve had in awhile. There was inside and outside seating & plenty of space for everyone. They had plenty of drink options, including non alcoholic. This place is on the more expensive side, but it’s definitely worth to come every once awhile!

After a couple of minutes, I recognized this location that was once a Mexican restaurant. It was now converted to a beautiful and cozy Café. It was our first time visiting. It was a good experience overall. I did notice that the plates, when all of us were served, covered 80% of the table surface. Thank goodness prompt table service cleared out empty plates to avoid over clutter of the table. I had the feature Strawberry Shortcake Pancake which were big and delicious! There was a lot of help offering good customer service.

Not my first time at this rodeo. Yet, I still can't choose from their amazing menu! It may sound simple, but I had a pork roll, egg and cheese sandwich on a kaiser roll (Philajersey girl, what can I say!) I usually get them from Wawa or at the beach, and Ida's has earned a spot with this delicious sandwich! And, check out these strawberry cheesecake pancakes. When my daughter took a bite, she stopped and said, "there's strawberries between the layers!" No skimping for Ida's...not just fruit floating on top, but stacked! Fair pricing, always great customer services and hometown vibe. The only bad thing about this place is trying to make a left turn to leave...so maybe just stay and get lunch, too🙂

First time back in years as we used to go often. They've changed some but no worries as it was still a nice meal and experience. You order upfront before sitting down. We ordered omelets. What a wonderful little restaurant!! From the moment I walked in the door, the staff was pleasant and inviting. You order your food at the counter, then you're seated, and served once the food is ready. Food was pretty quick to come out, and absolutely delicious. I ordered the creamed chipped beef with a blueberry muffin on the side, while my wife ordered an omelet. The breakfest potatoes were very good! The employees I’ve interacted with have all seemed friendly and polite, and my coffees have always been great. The environment is amazing, I love to go with my laptop and sit for a few hours. I never feel like I’m a bother when I hang out there, which is nice. The food is a little underwhelming for the price but it’s all local ingredients so I sort of get why it costs so much. I wish they had their wifi name and password written somewhere customers could see, I felt bad having to walk up and pull the employees away from whatever they were doing just to ask for the wifi. I imagine it’d be a lot easier on staff if they had it posted somewhere.

Citronnelle is a cozy French BYOB restaurant located in downtown Lancaster. The intimate 32-seat bistro offers a modern take on French cuisine with influences from Asia and North Africa. The menu features creatively sourced dishes, such as duck leg confit, harvest salad with Moroccan spices, and crab croquettes with wasabi aioli. Citronnelle prides itself on using locally sourced, seasonal ingredients whenever possible and also incorporates high-quality exotic elements into its dishes.
I came here for my birthday with my family; I have come here for ten years and I have never been disappointed with the food, service or atmosphere. The dishes are innovative, well balanced and always cooked perfectly. Andrew the server was great, the owner Susan is always so welcoming and kind and Chef Rafael is a master of his craft!

The server was very friendly and kind, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Although she did check-in with us regarding our appetizer, she was too preoccupied to check-in regarding our entree, due to her being the only staff in the dining area catering to 4 different tables; understandable but didn't leave us the opportunity to address our issues with the entree (which will be highlighted below) until we paid for our bill and came across someone else by happenstance. The aesthetics were elegant and on the dimmer side, especially if you're seating at the corner tables away from the light, we recommend sitting closer to the light or by the entrance if there's still light out. We really loved the crab croquettes appetizer, which had a perfectly crispy exterior that complimented perfectly with the moist interior mixture of potato and crab that paired very well with the aioli. The crispy potato that accompanied the NY strip was perfectly balanced as well, with the crispiest exterior that I ever had with a potato dish! Unfortunately that was the highlight to the entire dish, for the strip was extremely lean without any fat or marbling to help balance out the leanness of the steak (which is evident in the attached photos below). Usually a NY strip, even if grass fed, would still have a strip of fat on the outer layer, but ours did not have any at all, which you can see from all slices we've made. We weren't hoping for ribeye-quality fats at all, but just one that wasn't completely lean. The creamed spinach was also quite bitter and watery, which definitely diluted its creaminess unfortunately; you can see from the photo the wateriness in the creamed spinach where the cream began separating. We love their menu and the restaurant's elegant vibe, as well as how beautifully the food was presented, but unfortunately we were left disappointed by our main entree. I highly recommend their crab croquettes so please give that a try if you can, I promise you won't regret it! Thank you for reading and best of luck! (:

My husband and I made a last minute reservation to try this place after I looked at the positive Google reviews. Unfortunately, our dining experience was not so positive like the others. Let me preface this by saying that I am a Philly native who has visited many fine dining restaurants in the city. I’ve even been to restaurants that don’t have the fine dining ambience (like this place) but their prices are expensive like a fine dining place. This restaurant lacked in all the aspects of fine dining (not sure if that is what they’re going for). The room is very small and tight. When I walked in first and gave the server our name for the reservation, she pointed us to the corner table. It was a tight squeeze! I glanced at it with an awkward hesitation, and then I looked at my husband and told him that I was going to use the restroom first. This corner table was the worst seat in the room. I wish she would’ve sat us at another 2 top considering that I’m pregnant and will need the room to get in and out and make multiple trips to the restroom. Well, this server didn’t seem to be mindful of that. After I got back to my seat (after much tweaking of the chair and table to get comfortably seated), I just looked towards the wait staff station to see when our sever would bring us our water and menus. Mind you, the place is small and there’s 2 waitresses with 4 parties. Not a busy evening for them. I also worked in the restaurant industry and bringing water and menus when your guests arrive is just service 101. You don’t keep them waiting too long. I was shocked to notice that our server didn’t notice. She was more attentive to the 4 top near us. Finally, she walked over with menus and then asked what kind of water we wanted. I asked for filtered tap. I wish she would’ve asked me this before I used the restroom if I knew she was going to wait this long to ask us another question about water options. Anyways, onto the food. My husband and I shared the crap croquettes because that was a highly recommended item from the other reviewers. Well, let me be the first to tell you, don’t order it! Save your money! It wasn’t that good. I was very disappointed to see that these were way too mushy and contained way too much cream. I first picked it up with my fork, but it completely breaks down that you have to eat it with your fingers. Again, way too much cream and you barely taste any crab. I don’t understand how people think this was good, but it was overpowering with the mayonnaise like cream and no crab taste. I felt bamboozled. For the second course, I ordered the NY strip and my husband got the lamb bolognese. Our server explained that if we wanted the soufflé, then we HAD to order it with our dinner because it takes the chef 20 minutes to make it. I thought that was even strange. I’ve never come across that in my dining experience and thought it was an unnecessary request of the guests. What if we changed our minds after we finished the dinner and wanted to cancel the soufflé? It just didn’t make sense to pressure guests into making a decision about dessert when they haven’t even had the first course yet. Now, my steak was good, but that was the only thing I liked on my plate. The steak was tender and juicy. However, it came with this crusted potato thing that tasted really strange. It also came with a cup of creamed spinach which was very bland and lacking in any culinary taste. It needed salt very badly and didn’t have much cream. I was shocked by the poor texture and lack of taste in the sides. My husband’s dish was good, but after some time of eating it, he said he doesn’t think he’s a fan of bolognese. He said it’s something that he could make himself, so I don’t think he was any more impressed with his dish. The pasta noodles had a nice texture to it though and the eggplant was good. That’s about it. Finally, the soufflé. It was nothing special in taste or texture. There wasn’t anything in it that made me go “wow, that’s really good”. Overall, a poor experience and such lack of attentiveness from our server. We won’t return.

Absolutely incredible. The crab croquettes were very soft and had a excellent crab taste. The arrangement of the plates were beautiful. The inside of the restaurant was very personal. You could tell that everything was done with care, intentionality. The main courseries were fantastic. The steak was cooked perfectly, chicken was delicate with a beautiful mushroom flavor. The desserts were not overly sweet. I would really recommend giving this place a try!

I had Citronnelle on my list for a long time! My friends were in from L.A. so I made reservations. Overall, the food was underwhelming. Maybe I expected too much, but I wasn't a fan of some of the flavors and also felt that the 'umami' was missing. However, the services was impeccable, the environment was romantic and high-end, so maybe I just had an off night (me and/or the restaurant).

After a 2 year absence & 5 star review... I found the lamb tender with delicious sauce, the mushroom risotto lovely, the soufflé as good as ever. The vegetables could use some seasoning, the octopus was a little chewy & salty, the pate used to be creamier & more generous. Dessert took some time to come. The salad could do without the pickled pearl onions which hit one in the back of the throat. But nice flavor overall.
Leila M — Google review
Very small and tight vibe. Just a few tables. I did not enjoy the service that day as well it was slow with nobody there and her vibe was weird. The steak and fries were good. Steak could have been cooked better.

We have been to Citronnelle twice. Very special little French restaurant. Citronnelle is a gem, we will reserve a table again. The combination of the assorted seafood dish complements each other and tastes very delicious. Usually shellfish tend to leave sand in the dish, but this dish delighted me from beginning to end. The sauce tastes great. We tried different dishes for both dinners, and each one was a pleasant surprise...bring your own favorite wine (not provided by the restaurant) and enjoy the family atmosphere, friendly conversation...it was great! We can't wait for the next time 😋

Grand Central Bagel, located near the bustling market, offers a delectable selection of fresh produce, local bagels from their own bakery, and breads from Rics Breads. This popular cafe also serves delightful sweets from beloved establishments like Lititz Family Cupboard. The menu is not your average fare and promises to tantalize your taste buds.
Yes, I am sharing a picture of the bagel I demolished. One of the downsides of growing up in New York is that one’s bagel barometer is changed for life. I’m happy to say that the bagels and atmosphere here took me back to the old Long Island bagel shops. The bagels are chewy yet not too dense, service is lightning quick (but mindful of the line) and staff are efficient but friendly. Coffee is fantastic. Definitely worth a visit.

They really work hard in there. From specialized bagel sandwiches to everything bagels. Cup of specialty coffees. Awesome food great place you have to stop in for one no regrets pure pleasure. Mouth watering toasted bagels with cream cheese For personal treat or business catering. They are prepared for anything. Also has additional treat Rice crispy treats marshmallows melts in your mouth every bite among other treats like cookies and cup cakes. Five thumbs up 👍👍👍👍👍 💯 ( veteran Approved ) treat your tummy to some delicious treats or bagels. The staff there are awesome and hard work to make your order right.

Stayed with my son for a basketball tournament at Spooky Nook and wanted a good bagel place for breakfast. Grand Central Bagels is 3 minutes from Heritage Hotel, and boy were we pleased with our breakfast. Busy place, which shows quality food, but not too busy with a fast wait time. The food was right on point. Bacon, egg, and cheese, with fresh onion and avocados on a toasted wrap. The coffee was outstanding with many options. Highly recommend Grand Central Bagels for either breakfast or lunch as they have an extensive lunch menu also.

This cafe is just amazing, with a lot of options for your coffee, tea, pastry, bread, bagel, smoothie, breakfast, brunch, and protein shake. You name it, they got it. Check out their timings before you plan a visit. They have a shared parking lot, and it gets busy. The Cafe also was super busy when I visited around 11.00 am. and at least 20 customers waiting to place an order. But the staff turns out the orders much faster. The prices are very reasonable too. I ordered a pumpernickel bagel toasted with jalapeño cheddar cheese, and it was delicious and made perfect. I also ordered hot Chai latte and definitely better than other places I had. I also noticed a lot of repeated customers on the line suggesting us to try several of their delicacies. The interior has a lot of tables and also they maintained it very well. There is a food pickup area if you place a phone order. They do have a restroom. The outdoor seating is also available. This place is a must try !!

Very lovely place. For a busy Saturday brunch the line moved quick and food came out in a respectful amount of time. My kids enjoyed their bagels, my hubby and I enjoyed the bagel sandwich and grilled focaccia. The coffee was also very good. The atmosphere was welcoming with our four kiddos. Will definitely come here again when we are in the area.

Very impressed!! I knew I'd be in that area for work, so bought an online deal and went to try it. Fabulous!! My food is delicious!!... and fresh, yummy bagel made to order sandwich and highly recommend their white chocolate mocha!! Plus, it was such a cute place with nice seating and super clean. Will definitely return soon! Highly recommend!

Came here with my momma last Saturday & boy was it crowded! The food was phenomenal, especially the baked banana choc chip which was probably the best I have ever had. Just expect to wait for awhile, we waited in line for over a half hour for our food & we were running out of room to stand since the cash register order line ran into the area where people were waiting for their food/coffee orders. A little chaotic but worth the wait in the end. Highly recommend the jalapeno cheddar bagel if you like some spice. Pumpkin Pie latte could have been sweeter, was a little bitter but all in all a good experience, just super busy & gets crammed inside so it's best to sit outside on a nice day!

Rude, abhorrent owner who acts as if she’s royalty and you’re bothering her by eating here. If you’re okay with being disrespected for a mediocre bagel they overcharge for then this place will suit your needs. If you have any sense of self respect and prefer good food, i’d go ANYWHERE else.

New Holland Coffee Company is a cozy hangout spot with counter seats, offering house-roasted coffee, homemade pastries, and light fare. The space features a glass roof and hanging plants, creating a beautiful atmosphere in both New Holland and Lancaster City locations. Their menu includes a variety of toasts, sandwiches, and an extensive selection of coffee options such as breve lattes and london fogs.
The food and coffee were amazing! I am in my "cold brew" era and love trying different places. I must say their special Valentines "White Chocolate Strawberry Cold Brew" is amazing! I was a bit disappointed they didn't offer non-dairy sweet cream cold foam, but no worries! Their BLT with pesto and goat cheese was absolutely delicious! I look forward to trying more of their "special" drinks.

The customer service is great here. It’s a nice place to sit and have breakfast. The food isn’t bad. I got the strawberry cheesecake French toast. It’s not bad. Creamy. I also got the Goat cheese BLT which was my favorite out of the two. Not much goat cheese on it though.

Probably my all time favorite coffee shop. Love the ambience! Great selection of food and drinks. Beautiful layout with atrium ceilings and plants. The fireplace is such a nice focal point.. Wish i lived closer but i visit when i can from York County. Definitely recommend!

What an amazing place! I desperately needed a cup of coffee and I saw they're open until 9pm, so I stopped by. The ambience is so trendy, yet relaxing and cozy with plants hanging from the ceiling and plenty of space between tables. It is very clean and once I learned they served food, I ordered dinner and dessert. The avocado toast was scrumptious, and I added the two egg option - they were cooked perfectly! My dessert was the yogurt parfait which was rich, creamy and filling! Such a find and would definitely stop by again! Try this place!!

So the coffee is always great. The baked goods are amazing. The atmosphere is awesome. The service here is glitchy .... snobbery, which is a shame because the owners seemed grounded and nice.

New Holland Coffee Co. is my go-to destination for coffee. From the moment you step in, the atmosphere is warm, inviting, and perfect for both relaxing and getting some work done. The staff is consistently friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to provide excellent service. What sets them apart is their in-house roasting—it's clear they’re passionate about offering only the best for their customers. The pastries are always fresh, and there’s never a shortage of delicious options to pair with your coffee. The hanging plants add a cozy, vibrant touch to the space, creating a perfect vibe for focusing on work or catching up with friends. I highly recommend New Holland Coffee Co. to anyone seeking a memorable and welcoming coffee experience!

I had the New Holland Coffee Co truck come for a bridal shower I was hosting and they were fantastic!! Evelyn and Kailey were the baristas for us and they were so friendly and all the guests loved the drinks they made. Mikayla helped to sort out all the details via email before the event and they showed up day of with plenty of time to set up and didn’t need a single thing from me! It was such a fun thing to have for a party and I would recommend them to everyone!

It offers a variety of breakfast options including top-notch waffles, bagel sandwiches, and a selection of coffee and warm beverages. The cafe has a quaint and comfortable environment with both indoor and outdoor seating, including a dog-friendly outdoor area shaded with umbrellas.
A nice little cafe in downtown Lancaster. They serve Passenger coffee, which is some of the best in the area. The menu is fairly small but the food is a must try. The ingredients are fresh and tasty. The only knock I have is that they have some items on their menu that are unavailable.

I love the environment here. It’s quaint and comfortable! The staff was quick and friendly and the prices were fair. I like the outdoor seating and flavor of the drinks. My only issue was that the cappuccino was more like a latte and vice versa. They had little foam for the cappuccino but lots for the latte.

Lancaster Sweet Shoppe, located in the heart of historic Lancaster City, is a delightful destination offering a wide array of chocolates, hand-dipped ice cream from Pine View Dairy, and freshly made Stroopies. The shop sources its handcrafted chocolates and homemade candies from Groffs Candies and operates with Stroopie Co. to create authentic stroopwafel treats.
The interior is absolutely beautiful, with a cozy and welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to hang out for a while. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, making the experience even more enjoyable. One of the highlights is the huge outdoor seating area in the back—perfect for enjoying your ice cream on a nice day. I also appreciated that they offer free water, which is a thoughtful touch. Plus, the bathrooms are spotless, which is always a great sign of a well-maintained place. Overall, this shop has everything—great ambiance, excellent service, and all the little details that make a visit special. Definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in the area!

I was not leaving Lancaster without any treats! I found this place late evening on a Sunday holiday weekend. It was PACKED PACKED. I had to wait in a very long line but It was worth it to me. I found parking literally right out front as most people had i assumed walked to here. I unfortunately did not get some pictures id like to of gotten because it was so busy and people were trying to find parking and there were families with little little children all around so I was just trying to get in and out. It is a quaint old timey shop feel. It has chocolates in all the cases and along the walls all kinds of fudge and chocolates and candies and stroops to choose from while you wait in line. I saw a basket with 50% off stroops that were somehow not done right... they looked fine to me, so I grabbed a few. I also got 2 1/4 lb fudge packages for my mom and us to cut up and share. She loves loves loves fudge especially the fudge from the shore!!! So I had to try Dutch fudge!!! N it was as good as one could imagine!!! I got a stroop ice cream sandwich and you can choose from their wide range of ice cream options of what flavors you want in your ice cream sandwich. Yes a stroop ice cream sandwich!!!! Just when u think a Dutch delight couldnt get any better they added milky high point ice cream made right there in Amish country!!!! I also had an iced coffee and they used fresh ground beans right there that was steamed into half the cup over a half a cup of ice and added fresh cream!!!! Ugh my mouth is watering as i sit and write this review!!! 😩.... it was worth the long line it really was and the little extra time it took us to drive back to central Delaware that evening enjoying our Dutch treats as we drove the hour and 45 mins home in the setting sun 🌞 on the country winding roads!!! If no one has taken that drive just for some treats you are missing out on the simple pleasures of life my dear friends......

This cute hidden gem in Lancaster city is worth the try. Not only do they have amazing and exciting local seasonal ice cream flavors but they also sell a variety of chocolate treats and cookies. Their chocolate covered pretzels is one of my favorites in town plus their brownie sundae. Love this place!
Glenda L — Google review
Plenty of stroopwafles to choose from! Pumpkin shaped ones for the fall with pumpkin spice flavor if you’re into that. Plenty of other options if you’re not. I’m excited to try the salted Carmel! With chocolate dipped on both sides it’ll be a wee messy to set on my steaming mug but I’ll figure it out. They were out of dark chocolate pretzels behind the counter which was a bummer. Otherwise ample chocolates, ice cream and stroopwafel to choose from. Paid parking close by. If you have the app, it’s relatively inexpensive.

It's worth going to this place just for the amazing smell! 😀 As a bonus they also sell their stroopie waffles and amazing ice cream! They have a little bit of seating inside as well as a lovely courtyard outback. Thank you for participating in the Taste The World tour!

They have the best ice cream that I have ever had anywhere in my life. Ice cream in fancy ice creameries at shops or stores, or even "Amish made" is nowhere close to their taste and quality. Let's not forget their drinks, well made and give no acne. Prices, good. Very fair and worth it.

Nice little store. I paid cash for the ice cream, which was the line with no waiting, so cash is still handy. You can swap out your glass milk jugs pick up fresh milk, and buy good peanut butter! We sat on the swinging bench on the front porch, like the old days.

Also they have orange milk , strawberry , mint and chocolate of course . It's a Mom n Pop kinda place.

Delicious ice cream! Lots of flavors to choose from too! My husband was impressed at the waffle cones which had a fold at the bottom tip so the ice cream wouldn't leak, plus the cone was nice and crispy and stayed that way until he finished. ( At other places he's gotten waffled cones dripped from the bottom tip and turned to mush! ) We also bought some farm fresh cream line milk. They sell it in the old fashioned glass bottles. I've been trying to avoid plastics so I was happy to pay the deposit for the glass bottle despite the fact that we really don't live close enough to run there weekly. My husband uses it for his coffee and I use it in baking. It's nice and creamy! My daughters and grandkids spotted the candy isle. They have a big variety of all kinds including some of the older varieties that you don't find at a grocerystore.

Creperie
Griddle & Grind Cafe & Creperie, located in Ephrata, has been delighting the community with delectable crepes since November 2018. The cafe was brought to life by owner Sierra's dream of creating her own cafe after gaining experience in the gourmet coffee industry. Teaming up with co-owner Shayleen and receiving support from local figure Bob Harter, they transformed an 1880s building into the charming Griddle & Grind Cafe it is today.
What a cute gem in the middle of Ephratas main street. Came out here from Philly for some much needed peace, space and tranquility and this little spot added the perfect Hot Chocolate and muffins. 5.0 def be back again. Thanks for a great morning

I’d been meaning to try Griddle & Grind Cafe for a while, and finally stopped by today. I ordered a caramel latte which is a pretty standard drink, but unfortunately, it was one of the worst coffees I’ve ever had. The caramel tasted very artificial, the espresso was weak and barely noticeable, and the drink was overwhelmingly milky despite asking for extra ice. They use small nugget ice, which diluted the drink quickly and made it even more watery. I couldn’t make it past a few sips, and for nearly $10 with tip, it was a big letdown. That said, the cafe itself is cute and cozy, and the staff was very sweet too. While I won’t be coming back for the coffee, their food options might be worth a try next time. :(

Being from the northwest, I like a great cup of coffee. Christine made perfect mocha, Cortado and Americano for us! Cute and clean place in downtown York. The service is fast and friendly. The food and coffee here was good. I enjoyed the coffee more than I did the food. It can get loud in the cafe when it starts getting busy but nothing that ruins the dining experience. Overall, great place!
Jessica R — Google review
It’s cozy, it’s cute, but a top tier coffee shop it’s not. Prince Street Cafe does stand out in an area that’s lacking in good-looking cafes, that’s for sure. It’s not terribly fancy, but it photographs well, and it’s clean and uncluttered. The coffee is mediocre. The owner spent all their barista tokens on a superautomatic machine that does everything with the single push of a button. There’s no skill involved, and no reason to hire anyone who knows anything about coffee. It works, sure, but it’s lazy, and immediately makes me think that there’s laziness happening elsewhere behind the scenes. My cold brew coffee tasted like an americano that’s been in the fridge for a day or two. Definitely didn’t taste fresh. I’m not sure if they know how to make a proper cold brew, to be honest, because that wasn’t it. The açaí bowl was pretty decent, but on the smaller side, and not worth the $13 I paid, in my opinion. That being said, our server was kind and as helpful as she was trained to be. Zero complaints there. I just feel bad that she doesn’t get to learn how to make proper coffee on a proper espresso machine.
Ryan — Google review
Cool place to grab coffee, a quick bite and meeting up with your friends. Every city has this type of cafe but I would recommend stopping in when visiting York. Nothing unique on the menu that makes them stand out from the crowd. Just an inviting environment with great customer service.

I love the food here! I go here nearly every weekend, but the past 4 weeks in a row, they have gotten my order wrong and had to remake it. I get the same thing every time and it’s a very easy order. I dread checking the order every time because I’m not a very social person and hate having to ask them to remake it. I will continue to go every weekend because I love the food but I hope they read this and address the consistency issue. Oh, and the almond croissants are the best!

With all the great reviews, i have been wanting to try this cafe for sometime now. We finally had a chance. I love the modern/contemporary theme, it's clean and sleek. There are many food and bakery options. I was hoping for a a few more coffee syrup options, but I went wth my go to a caramel latte and hubby had the same. We chose to eat in. Staff was friendly and welcoming. We received our food items well before our coffee which was a bit odd. The server asked if there was anything else and we told her our coffee. They came out quickly after that. The flavor was amazing. As far as the taste, one of the best roasts I've had. The baked blueberry oatmeal with steamed milk was amazing and hubby enjoyed his sandwich but did say the egg was cool, so I am only speculating they heat it up as you order. Location is perfect. Parking on street or as we did in the garage just a block away. There are many places to walk to as well as the Central Market. Definitely a place to try and we will be back.

Bistro

Bar
Checkers Bistro is a warm and lively restaurant in Lancaster, offering an eclectic mix of French, Asian, and American cuisines. The menu features small plates like scallops, Asian noodles, and duck tacos. One standout dish is the Coffee Cured Petite Filet, which uses coffee from Lancaster County Coffee Roasters to infuse rich flavor into the meat. The restaurant has received recognition for its excellent wine selection and hospitality.
Looking for a classy place to eat dinner? Check out Checker’s Bistro! My wife took me here for my birthday dinner. It was the first time for both of us, and we were quite pleased with the service and food! We had the roasted beet salad and lobster mac n cheese for our appetizers. I wasn’t very excited when she mentioned that she wants to order beet salad. So I ordered the mac n cheese (normally we share an appetizer), but the beet salad was almost better than the mac n cheese, which comes with Gruyere and Parmigiano Reggiano cheese. We ate the grilled prosciutto & fig pizza and beef bourguignon for our entrées. The bourguignon was great comfort food for a cold December night. So much so that our dinner was over around 7:30, and we both wanted to go home and sleep. 😀

Wonderful restaurant! The atmosphere of the place is fine dining but the price is affordable. Lighting is a little dark. Our server Laura was sweet and attentive. They ran out of what I ordered but gave me a comparable (more expensive)plate for the same (lesser) price of what I ordered: thank you! The portions are generous which is atypical for fine dining. The food is awesome! The wine list is extensive. They have beer as well from local brewers. Great place for a for a date night!

Only my second visit, but I seriously really like this place. We went during happy hour at the bar and sampled a few different items off of that menu. But, if you don't know already, the duck tacos here are one of the best bites of food you can get in Lancaster. Duck, fried wonton, hoisin sauce, cilantro and maybe...guac? So good - we ordered two plates of them. The risotto balls were delicious. They also made a good lobster and brie pizza with fantastic dough, nice cheese...but way too much arugula. The greens were overpowering the subtle taste of the lobster. Oh, a nice Manhattan and fresh Firestone Walker didn't hurt anything. Very much looking forward to going back.

My wife and I have been attending Checkers since 2014. It is our absolute favorite fine dining experience in Lancaster. What I think works best for us is that Checkers has a younger feel and atmosphere with all of the expectations of fine dining. Napkins are folded when you leave the table, extra silverware is presented when needed (without asking) by using a napkin to hold the silver so it is never touched by hands other than mine, Sonya always gives us recommendations that we trust, it is clear that the staff KNOWS the menu, we are never badgered by staff but always cared for, our reservation is always met without issue, and there has never once been a problem with our meal. The chef and his staff always have something new to try and they always deliver on their quality. Attached are photos of their duck liver pate, their swordfish special, and their classic coffee crusted filet mignon that my wife always gets. Absolutely recommend!

Conventional cuisine in a classy atmosphere. The dessert was definitely a highlight. Duck tacos were novel and delicious.

We all got the chicken, and it was amazing! Lovely ambience, great service, and the food was wonderful. Loved the 1920's "speakeasy" music playing, not too loud to enjoy conversation, but loud enough to set the mood. To top things off, we mentioned that we were celebrating my new job, and they surprised us with an after-dinner sorbet for everyone! What a classy and thoughtful touch!

Made reservations for our anniversary. My food was great. I had meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and snow peas. My wife ordered chicken Alfredo instead of seafood Alfredo and they were happy to make that for her. Our beers we're good and they gave us a free little dessert with a rose at the end. Our waiter was attentive and nice to work with. Can't wait to come back.

Good service, though the waitress never told me her name which I thought was odd. For my appetizer I had the salt encrusted calamari, which was *almost* too salty to enjoy. I also ordered the small plate and it was a hefty portion, almost too much for one person. Though that's hard to complain about I guess. My entree was the coffee crusted filet with au gratin potatoes and asparagus. I wasn't blown away by anything on that plate, nothing was bad but nothing was great either. Everything was set upon a layer of Merlot wine reduction sauce, so it all just kind of tasted like that. For dessert, the creme brulee (which is pictured), which was probably the best part of my whole meal. Nothing about my experience was bad, but I wasn't blown away by anything either. My two friends who joined me weren't particularly enthralled with anything that they ordered (the duck tacos, and the miso citrus salmon from what I can remember). I also had the thought that if you're going to take the time and go through the laborious task of making Peking duck, why hide it in a taco? Just my opinion. I've never spent so much on a meal without spending the next several days reflecting on how good it was, or hyping the place to all my friends. It was overall disappointing, especially since everyone I spoke with said it was amazing and that I would definitely enjoy myself.
