Coffee shop
La Libertad Centro is a popular spot in Merida with two locations, offering a cozy atmosphere and a menu featuring an array of dishes perfect for sharing. The restaurant is known for its brunch and lunch options, including traditional favorites like hotcakes, chilaquiles, and crepes poblanas. Customers often rave about the chilaquiles on social media.
This is still our favorite brunch place in Mérida. We've been to all the other locations with this being our first time to the Centro location. It's a beautiful place. The food portions are huge and so flavorful. I usually get the Yucatán Benedict, but branched out and tried the chilaquiles torta with lechon and it was a new favorite. The Turkish Eggs with their homemade sourdough was absolutely divine. A new favorite for my wife. The service is always great and the food continues to set the bar high.
Jason P — Google review
While the food was great, the service was lacking. The coffee and food took a really long time to arrive, so make sure you are not in a rush. We had ordered waters that never arrived and wanted mimosas but were informed they only start serving alcohol at 12:00. Despite this, the staff was super friendly and overall I think La Libertad is still worth a visit!
Ann U — Google review
The food portions are huge and delicious! Make sure to be really hungry when visiting. Drinks were delicious and refreshing. I ordered some orange juice, but it was to sweet, since it's normal for people here to add a bit of sugar to it. Reservations are only after 1pm so, if you're planning on going for breakfast, you better be early. Since it's always busy you do have to wait at least 30min to get a table. There are 2 areas, indoors with A/C and outdoors. Due to the extreme weather here, I recommend indoors.

Incredible service! Inside seating does seem a bit crowded and claustrophobic so I sat outside however it was a bit hot which is to be excepted. The service was great and informative on the menu! Highly recommend the nutella and queso de bola french toast. The horchata latte did not taste like horchata but still ok. I recommend trying another flavor!
Jenavee M — Google review
Excellent quality food that was very tasty. There latees were also very good. Beautiful use of a colonial building. I am gluten free and there was plenty of options.
Anya G — Google review
We didn’t have to wait to get a table and the interior is pretty nice. We weren’t impressed by the food though, we both ordered huevos motuleños, which lacked the plátanos, but wasn’t very flavorful either. But to be fair, the price was okay.
Dóra P — Google review
Had perfect breakfast at this restaurant! The staff deco and ambiance is very nice, colonial design of the place adds to the ambiance of this eatery. We ordered French toasts and Chilaquiles. You can choose to add Nutella or other options, I went with Nutella and it just worked perfect for me. With chilaquiles, you can order with chicken, eggs etc. I also ordered coffee Americano to have with French toast. All the items were good and upto the mark along with staff and service

Cafetería Impala, a historic coffee shop in Merida, has been serving customers since 1958. The restaurant's Rock N Roll ambiance and unique decor, including a striking 1950s automobile facade, offer a one-of-a-kind dining experience. With the nicest views of Merida's beautiful avenue, it is an ideal spot to enjoy classic dishes like Platillos Voladores (Flying Saucers).
Excellent breakfast. Great location. Iconic Impala car to top the outside sitting area for an old school ambiance. I liked it a lot! The service is 5 ⭐!
Dmitry K — Google review
The location and atmosphere is great. The service is poor. The waiters have a little idea of their labor. I believe that they just know serve plates and beverages. They do not offer supplemental dishes, don’t explain the menu, no suggestions at all! They serve “tortillas” in a single plate without napkins or cover at all. They hang around with other staff until you call their attention. The food presentation is good and plenty, but, no flavor at all! The price is fair!
Romance P — Google review
It clearly states, Cafeteria Impala was established in 1958 and there’s good reason why it’s still a very popular restaurant in Merida. Don’t let the kitschy retro design discourage you from enjoying the excellent service and great food. Our waiter, Raymundo was terrific. He offered great suggestions and recommendations and was very attentive. We ordered natural fruit drinks, mango and watermelon and they were able to prepare without sugar and use mineral water. Their basket of fries were also plentiful and delicious. Order their tiramisu - it’s the best. Great restaurant, great food, great service and great value. Highly recommended.
Elizabeth O — Google review
Had a great time at the restaurant Impala. Had their Burger with Angus beef and chicken tenders. Food was clean and freshly made. Would highly recommend getting the natural mango juice. Our waiter Alexander offered great service and attention. Would recommend!.
Noemi C — Google review
I ordered a very nice hamburger, with fries. It was great, but even better, to my great surprise, was my margarita. One of the best I’ve tasted here in Merida; a perfect blend of sweet and tart, and not at all water down, as many are. Start with one of those, and everything else will fall in place just fine. So kudos to the bartender. And my waiter, Gilberto. Was also excellent.
Jeffrey W — Google review
I came in for a late lunch/early dinner. They were out of some items such as turkey and a chicken plate, but that was due to a very busy few days. I ordered the Cheeseburger Montejo with fries. To drink I had their green juice and a coca-lite. They have a lot of variety on the menu but the burger caught my eyes. The food was great, the service excellent and the atmosphere was very relaxing and enjoyable.
Traveling G — Google review
We ordered the platillo with champiñones and did not have any mushrooms (Just a small pita-like bread with way too much ham). The food looked like we ordered it at a gas-station, and was quite expensive as well. Would not recommend it at all, only positive side about this place is the air conditioning.
Bart U — Google review
Cafeteria Impala is perfect. Great attention and awesome food, just ate some huevos rancheros and it was delicious. Also, Hernan was always checking that everything went well. 100% recommended.

Maiz, Canela y Cilantro is a charming family-run restaurant in Merida that offers a laid-back and homey atmosphere. It's known for serving the best huevos motulenos in town and showcasing Oaxacan specialties like Molotes and Tlayudas. The menu also features traditional breakfast options, vegetarian dishes, and Yucatecan delicacies. The restaurant's cozy outdoor courtyard adds to its appeal.
Food is amazing, place is nice, very detailed oriented, it could take some time for the food to come out, cash only!!!
Carlos R — Google review
My partner and I ended up coming here on a Sunday after seeing it on google maps, this was after leaving another place because of terrible customer service we received. I’ll get to the point. We were greeted warmly and were seated quickly. I really appreciated that it was cool inside the restaurant, it’s an issue at other places. I ordered the huevos con chaya, a latte and a chaya con piña. My partner ordered the French toast, a latte and a chia lemonade. We both really enjoyed our meal’s throughly and would definitely come back. If laid back, home cook food and friendly service is your thing, come here now! Important things to note: the restaurant is cash only, and food is prepared fresh to order so sure, it might take some time. Be patient and you’ll be rewarded with simple but traditional flavors.
Tiffany H — Google review
Amazing atmosphere, delicious food, and friendly staff. I love the cappuccinos here, fresh juice, and made fresh horchata. Ordering the horchata or freshly squeezed juice is a MUST! They are only open from Friday to Sunday and close at 2pm so make sure to check this place out while it’s open during the week. P.s. they have a very cute cat but he’s traumatized from a past owner so be very gentle with him (he won’t bite or scratch just easily scared).
Matthew U — Google review
We went there first thing after checking in our hotel because of the specific opening hours. Prior to our Mérida stay we stumbled upon this Family-owned restaurant in a youtube video and the Food looked amazing! We tried the huevos motuleños and they were divine. We were fortunate enough to sit outside in the garden where we enjoyed our Food and the atmosphere of the surroundings. Having returned to Germany, we already attempted to make huevos motuleños at home. I‘m so glad we got to experience the food at Maiz, Canela y Cilantro!

This place is OUTSTANDING!!!! It looks like a little museum inside, the decoration is impecable. The food DELICIOUS!!! The service super friendly!! Recommended 1000%
Fraga N — Google review
We found this restaurant by the off chance id a quick Google search. And that turned out to be very pleasant, delicious and pleasing. We had the chicken soup, tacos dorados and chicken and mushrooms sandwich. All very wholesome and tasty with textures and blends of flavors that complemented each other. The atmosphere is comfortable, fresh and comfortable with wooden chairs and tables. Everything is prepared in a home looking kitchen wing which can be seen through glass and wood French doors. Service was fondly friendly and did not seem too slow, only take into consideration that each plate is hand prepared and homemade. Our seven year old son ate his entire plate which is saying something. The spicy salsa (watch the heat if you can’t take it) and the black beans with tortilla chips appetizer was a great touch.
Stuart S — Google review
Tired of overpriced and awful brunch places in Centro? This is the place you’ve been looking for. Fair prices! And service is very friendly! The taste? Uffff!! Give it a go! You won’t regret at all!
Juan C — Google review
Owned and operated by a family that does all the serving, cooking, and operation. Really comfortable. Great home-cooked, authentic food. 'Discovered' by tourists, it was full of tourists when we went for breakfast, but still authentic! Really wonderful. There is a different family that takes over the space and cooks dinner, all food from Oaxaca, so we recommend returning for dinner :) EDIT: The drinks! We got 1 of each kind, and every single one was homemade, amazing flavour!

PETIT DÉLICE is a slice of France in Merida, offering exquisite pastries made with classic French techniques by Chef Celine and her team. The menu includes French toasts, sandwiches, soups, omelettes, and freshly baked bread. Located in Victory Plaza, this authentic European bakery provides a stylish atmosphere for enjoying great coffee and wonderful pastries.
Oswaldo served us today, he was so kind and friendly. Been here several times and every dish that I’ve tried is extremely delicious and you can actually taste the quality of the ingredients, the bread and pasties are freshly baked in the restaurant, they are so good as well, highly recommended!
Diana S — Google review
First timer here. I looked up "creme brulee" and this place popped up. Delicious, great atmosphere, and the server was very nice and helpful. I definitely recommend this place. Feels like a peaceful french gem in the middle of a busy city. Loved it.
David T — Google review
The food was good, not spectacular, but good. We chose brunch options from the menu for our meal. Their display cases had some really beautiful looking pastries, although I didn't try them, I was full from brunch. But if I require fancy pastry again I will certainly go back to this place to try them out!! Most of the staff were very pleasant and friendly, but it needs to be said that the main waiter we had came with a high degree of attitude and it made me feel uncomfortable. We dined indoors to enjoy the air conditioning, but they also have a lovely terrace for less "intense" Merida days!
Todd J — Google review
A group of us went for lunch, the food was good, staff attentive and all wore masks (?). Vegan dish was accompanied nicely with substitutes for one of us. Fine time

Delicious food and desserts, the menu is limited but everything I've eaten here has been very very good. I can highly recommend this restaurant, perfect for brunch or breakfast.

Cool place with really nice pastries. Amazing bread and cute vibe. Staff is really nice and the best thing is that they have a really fast service. My sister tried to use the wifi for work stuff but it was too slow so don’t come for work and just for brunch or coffee.
Gerardo G — Google review
We actually love this place, food was delicious, the place is really nice looking, fast service i would like the waiter to check on tables to make sure everything is how supposed to be (my order was incomplete, it was still pretty good though) also just a personal opinion: it doesn't look good for them to be washing dishes in front of customers, restaurant is to nice to do that right there. Overall great place to eat good experience and i will definitely recommend it and i will definitely be going back again!

The establishment also offers an array of French-style pastries and artisanal breads that are perfect for take-away or enjoying on-site with freshly-brewed coffee.
I saw pics of this place. Stopped by for a loaf of bread and ended up enjoying one of their pastries and cold drinks. The chocolate-mamey will be one of my memorable treats in Mérida. Flakey, creamy, not too sweet, … I could go on. Need t come earlier to try more treats!!

Went to get some to go coffee and breakfast before going towards Uxmal. The service was brilliant and the little cafe had a great atmosphere - if we had had time, I would for sure had come back !! We got to coffees, a concha and a pan de muertos, which apparently only is made during the time of dia de los muertos.

Very nice spot for breakfast in Merida. Brilliant pastries, especially their French toast topped with fruit and cream. Maybe a bit pricey compared to other places in town, but definitely worth it.

Absolutely fabulous food!! Top notch bakery! And the service is second to none. Despite being crowded, they quickly turned tables to get guests seated. This is one of our favorite breakfast and lunch locations in Merida. No matter where we stay in the city, we will do the walk to eat here at least once while visiting. And do not miss on the fresh baked goods while here.

Wayan´e is a traditional spot for taco enthusiasts with multiple locations across the city. The original one in Colonia Itzimna offers delicious tacos and tortas with various fillings such as castakan, eggs with chile xcatic, chilibuul, and more. It's recommended to arrive early for breakfast as they tend to sell out quickly.
This is the spot you’ve been looking for! Tacos were amazingggg. These are right up there with the best tacos we’ve had during our 4 trips to Mexico. Castakan con queso, pollo con chile poblano and chilibul were our favourites but all 6 tacos we had were great. Everyone was also so ridiculously nice and welcoming. Special thanks to Israel who talked us through all the options at kitchen counter and gave us a little Spanish quiz :D Muchas Gracias!

We really enjoyed our lunch here. The tacos were delicious and we tried 4 different ones - the cochinita pibil, chicken with green chorizo, tinga de res, and pork in tomato sauce. We liked them all and the provided salsas. Israel, the waiter, was so kind and nice to speak with. He showed us a few plants in the garden.

Rosas & Xocolate Boutique Hotel + SPA is a luxurious hotel located in the Paseo Montejo area of Merida, combining two stunning French-style mansions to create a unique accommodation experience. The rooms feature elegant decor with high ceilings, wooden furnishings, and modern amenities such as outdoor jacuzzis, BOSE sound systems, and flat-screen TVs.
I got the Deluxe Exfoliation package with a relaxing massage at the Spa and it was one of the best massages I have ever had. Tonia was amazing. She asked questions about my problem areas and really paid special attention to them. Overall, it was an amazing experience because of Tonia!

If you can avoid this place do it, they advertise free parking not parking at all, you need to park on the street at your own risk. They advertise luxury boutique not true, we tried to go to the upper terrace the bar was in terrible conditions. Excellent staff good breakfast, good location.

Thank you for a lovely stay at Rosas y Xocolate. Our room was right next to the pool which felt like a real treat, as we could enjoy the peaceful atmosphere just off the bustle of the Main Street. Even though there were 3 of us in the room it felt like there was plenty of space, with a separate bedroom and lounge. The staff were friendly and attentive, and patient with me trying to practise my Spanish. We really enjoyed the complementary breakfast, including a hot drink, juice, pastry, and an option from the extensive menu. I would particularly recommend the smoked salmon bagel. The location was perfect, about a 20 minute walk to the main square but lots to see closer too. This was a perfect start to our trip across the peninsula and would recommend Rosas to anyone considering a trip to Merida.
Lynsey B — Google review
My stay at Rosas & Xocolate Boutique Hotel and Spa in Mérida was a delightful experience that left a lasting impression, thanks to its unique charm and warm hospitality. Nestled in the heart of Mérida, this boutique hotel stands out with its breathtaking architecture and distinctive style. The fusion of colonial elegance with bold pink and chocolate-hued accents creates a visually striking ambiance that feels both luxurious and whimsical. Every corner of the property, from the lush courtyard to the meticulously designed rooms, showcases a thoughtful blend of modern sophistication and Yucatecan heritage. The attention to detail in the decor—think vibrant tiles, artisanal touches, and elegant furnishings—makes it a haven for anyone who appreciates aesthetic excellence. The staff at Rosas & Xocolate deserves high praise for their friendliness and professionalism. From the moment I arrived, they were welcoming, attentive, and eager to ensure my stay was comfortable. Whether it was offering recommendations for exploring Mérida’s vibrant cultural scene or accommodating special requests, their service added a personal touch that elevated the entire experience. The on-site amenities, including the spa and the restaurant, further enhanced my stay. The restaurant, in particular, served up delicious dishes that beautifully blended local flavors with a gourmet twist, making every meal a treat. However, there was one peculiar aspect of my stay that stood out for the wrong reasons: the hotel’s deposit policy. Upon checking in, they charge a deposit, which is fairly standard, but by the end of the stay, they retain a single cent from the refund. This practice felt odd and unnecessary, and it’s something I haven’t encountered at any other hotel I’ve stayed at worldwide. While it’s a minor amount and didn’t significantly detract from the experience, it left me puzzled and slightly annoyed, as it seemed like an unusual quirk for an otherwise polished establishment.Overall, Rosas & Xocolate is a fantastic choice for travelers seeking a boutique hotel with character, style, and heart in Mérida. The stunning architecture, exceptional staff, and unique vibe make it a standout. If you can overlook the odd deposit practice, this hotel is well worth a visit for a memorable stay in the Yucatán. I’d happily recommend it to anyone looking for a blend of luxury and local charm!

This is a really charming hotel in a renovated mansion on a beautiful avenue. I stayed in the master suite - it was bright and airy, had massively high ceilings, was comfortable and spotless. (I did get an upgrade and for those of you with Bonvoy status, the staff did a great job of recognizing and valuing me throughout my weeklong stay. They were helpful, courteous and attentive) Crisiant, the Sales Manager, was particularly helpful. He contacted me promptly after my booking to assist with spa appointments and suggesting and arranging excursions. His assistance was valuable in planning my visit, as I had done little to no research before booking. The hotel's location is convenient for exploring the city. Paseo de Montejo is beautiful, offered a good base for walking to many city attractions and experiencing the local area. There are so many really good restaurants and shops in easy walking distance. It's a really great choice for a more than comfortable stay in Mérida.

I came for the food and dispute all of the less than 5 star reviews, I still went. I have to say the food was fantastic!! I got the Eggs Benedict and the chef did not disappoint!!! From the perfect hollandaise and poached egg to the mimosa...Fantastic!! The service was also top shelf. I was afraid to try the coffee because of all the bad reviewers who complained about the coffee, food and service but I'll definitely try it the next time I go back. If the coffee is the only thing that some people gave bad reviews, I'll skip it!

We always stop by here to get their pear salad. The other food was very good as well.

I've always had a rather ambivalent regard for the Pet Shop Boys. Whilst their tunes are undeniably catchy their lyrics often humorous and clever they are equally often let down by a rather laboured rhyme or a clichéd phrase. However, I've often found myself quoting the line from the song Left to My Own Devices that states "...learn to ignore what the photographer saw" and that's what you need to do at Rosas and Xocolate. Rarely has a website been so misleading. See photos. There certainly aren't any Roses and no Chocolate either 😕 😄 But let's start with the positives. The hotel staff are accommodating and polite (special mention for the breakfast server Sophie) with a comprehensive breakfast menu of decent quality and the location is very good. That's it. Now the reasons I wouldn't return. In general the hotel is unloved and poorly maintained. On arrival, the lobby had a large broken glass candle holder, the corridor had dirty glasses on the floor that remained untouched for over 24 hours and our room (the Master Suite) was tired and inadequately maintained. On arrival, the power shorted, the toilet leaked (this was fixed) the coffee maker didn't work (this too was fixed - but by turning off the refrigerator) and the bed linen faded and poor quality. The breakfast courtyard was dirty and unswept and the windows generally needed a good clean. The overall feel was one of decline and neglect which is unforgiveable in any establishment but given the prices being charged it almost amounts to theft. Read my other reviews; you'll see I'm not given to unnecessary criticism nor over reaction to a single incident of  bad service. There's another lyric from the Pet Shop Boys song Shopping that goes "...our gain is your loss, that's the price you pay". This might just sum up the Rosas and Xocolate experience. P.S. I'm honestly not a big Pet Shop Boys fan.

Habaneros is a beloved destination for those craving authentic Yucatecan cuisine, offering a delightful array of Mexican brunch dishes and seafood. With over 13 years of experience, this restaurant prides itself on its commitment to quality, crafting tortillas and salsas from scratch every day. Located in San Ramon Norte, Habaneros provides a family-friendly atmosphere with a playroom for kids. Guests rave about the freshly made tortillas and vibrant salsas that enhance their dining experience.
The first time we came, we had dinner. The service was great. The atmosphere was welcoming and cozy. The food was so amazing we came back for breakfast. Arturo was friendly and warm. The breakfast was just as a amazing as the dinner. They were much busier but we had a table under 2 mins. They have full menus in English and Spanish. We can’t wait to come back during our next trip Merida. Highly recommend and definitely and must visit! Thanks to Arturo for being so kind.

The place is a most go for cochinita pibil, locally know place and food. Tortillas are freshly made there on the spot. Salsas are also made to your liking 3 different choices. The service was somewhat slow, and the waiter was not attentive. we asked a couple of times for refills and some extra stuff, but it took longer than normal, I would say. The food was delicious for the price, I would recommend it.

All of the staff were kind and professional. They have menus in Spanish and English. My server, Arturo, spoke English. Which was helpful since I’m still working on my Spanish. He recommended the.Uaymitun seafood taco. I order two other tacos as well. The other tacos were good, but the.Uaymitun seafood taco was the best! Arturo was right. Delicious! The hand made tortillas and salsa was a treat. Also, get the Margarita Clasico. It was one of the best margaritas I’ve ever had.

Authentic Yucatán food experience! Highly recommend! Arturo is the manager/server I was lucky to have both times! He speaks English and helped to make great food suggestions! Until next time!

Great food. Great quality. Loved the atmosphere. They even make the tortillas on site and they were delicious. I would definitely recommend anyone in Merida to go

Really enjoyed the panuchos and the churros with dip. Staff was prompt and the free salsa made by hand really completed the meal.

Manjar Blanco is a charming spot located across from the Santa Ana park, offering traditional Yucatecan breakfast. Their breakfast packages include bottomless coffee, fresh-squeezed orange juice, a fruit bowl, and various main dishes like eggs with Valladolid sausage or Chaya Omelette. The restaurant has attracted attention for its traditional Yucatecan cuisine with surprising twists such as smoked pork belly panucho and queso relleno negro.
Nice and spacious. Yucatán's traditional dishes. Outdoor area, but if you prefer there's air conditioner. Food is great and service was awesome. Highly recommend.

We went there twice during our week-long stay in Merida. We like it a lot. Quite, well taken care of, place. The service was great! We have 0 Spanish knowledge 🥲 yet we didn’t feel lost or left out. The food was great and the price is reasonable (the average of that area). Would recommend!

Best food I’ve had in Merida. Run. Don’t walk to try their cochinillo pibil. We had asked locals where they eat and this spot was recommended. I’d make a whole trip to Merida just for this. Also. Fresh squeezed oj and great service. But between the hot sauce, proper tortillas and succulent pig, life is worth living all over again. Updating my review because we kept coming back to eat here. It was THAT DELICIOUS. Oh and they have their own PARKING

Saturday early Lunch. 4 top. Order: Pitcher of Agua de Chaya and Lima. EXCELLENT Ponchos de Cochinta- dry meat, needed flavor Cochinta Pibil. Good but was expecting more after watching Taco Chronicles on Netflix. Sopa the Lima- not what I was expecting. Mid at best. Service. SLOW. My Cochinta plate came out like 30min after everyone got their's. Pretty much everyone was done when I got my food. What's actually hard to get the waiter's attention. Nowhere to be seen. Unfortunately, I cannot say I will be back. Dark interior. Outside beautiful.

Manjar Blanco in Mérida offers a delightful brunch experience that beautifully showcases Yucatecan cuisine. This charming restaurant serves traditional dishes with a modern twist. A lot of Vegetarian options available. The refreshing hibiscus and Chaya juices are perfect complements to the meal. With attentive service and a welcoming ambiance, Manjar Blanco is a must-visit spot for brunch in Mérida

Wow wow wow. The cochinita pibil was outstanding, I want to go back for more already. Wonderful. It's unfair for us to rate the atmosphere because as we were the only ones in there. It was 4pm in 41 degrees. We just wish they were open for dinner.

Rosa Sur 32° is a unique and intimate restaurant located in Centro, offering a fusion of Mexican and Mediterranean flavors. The menu features a blend of aromatic herbs, cooking techniques, and ingredients from countries like Greece and Italy with local Yucatecan flavors. Despite its small size, it's considered one of the best restaurants in town. During the pandemic, it was one of the few restaurants open in Santa Lucia, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
What a wonderful gem! If you quickly walk by you'll miss it next to the larger restaurants around it, but this place is fantastic! Starting with the staff, they were so accommodating; with many of the tables reserved they made a setting for us near the kitchen, but it wasn't cramped or in the way. Once they helped us get seated, the food! Our server helped us select the best dishes we had during our trip to Merida, with unique blends of Yucatan and Mediterranean flavors. From appetizers to desserts, we really couldn't stop talking about how excellent the food was. In addition, they even had regional beers that you don't normally consider from the area, like stouts and IPA's, both of which were also excellent! We look forward to visiting the area again, and when we do will definitely be visiting our favorite restaurant.

Okay so today we stopped at izamal and thought I had best meal but I take it back this meal tops it 100x over... This is honestly a must on your stop at Merida! We got the beet and burrata salad, the fish tacos, the duck tosadas, the cauliflower - everything was phenomenal!! Highly recommend but I do think fish tacos were the star of the show!!

Great experience! Very friendly staff, setting is nice (terrace on a nice square / park). We lives everything: mexican with a twist, some good veggie options too. Fresh, well seasoned and good looking too. The Basil Frozen cocktail is heaven! Would definitely go back. On the pricier side for Mexico, but worth it!

Very nice location and friendly service. Unfortunately, the food was rather average. I had the vegetarian bagel. Way too oily and the bread was hardly chewable. Same issue with the bread in other dishes. The salad was really fresh and delicious though. The lemonade was great as well

This was honestly the best meal we had during our week in the Yucatán! The fusion of flavors was creative and masterfully presented. You must try the fried cauliflower croquettes! The aubergine mole was a wonderful surprise with the picaña steak. And the meat simply fell off the pork ribs. Enjoy!

Hidden gem in the city center of Merida! The food really is exceptional, we especially recommend trying the shrimp risotto or any of their other pastas. The service was so friendly and relaxed, the owner was such a great host as he even offered us a free dessert on the house, exceptional service! The location is also cute as it's at a Quaint square in the city center, can highly recommend visiting this restaurant!

Good and friendly service, however a bit slow. The prices were great for the taste of the dishes and the size of the portions. The indoor seating was ok but it was nice to have a/c. Tasty cocktails. Loved the guacamole with longaniza. Beer pork ribs were delicious, the mashed potatoes were a bit dry though. The shrimp enchiladas were original and tasty. Nice chocolate and berries dessert. Overall, a good option for lunch or dinner in Merida.

We came here last night for a birthday dinner and the food was sublime! The highlights were the Duck Guacamole, the melt in the mouth Fried Cauliflower (wow!) and Eggplant (Berenjenas) and the Risottos (both the Vegetarian and the Seafood versions). All of these are highly recommended. We were lucky to have timed our dinner reservation with a MeridaFest concert taking place in the park, so we had a front row seat to the show. And I’m still thinking about the Mezcalitas and the cheesecake dessert. This was one of my favorite dining experiences during my month in Merida!

Nice little chocolate shop. We came in one day to buy some chocolate bars of different flavors. They all sounded so good and interesting. We came back the next day to try the frappes and it as delicious. Better than any milkshake I've had in a long time.
Steph C — Google review
Chocolate is rich and tastes better than most. Makes a great drink but may be a little too rich for some. Service is excellent, not too many seats, assuming it is more of a shop.
J D — Google review
This place has been selling chocolate for several years, and it’s clear to see its success, with more locations in Mérida (not sure if there are any outside of Mérida). We were looking for white chocolate-covered almonds, but they no longer offer them. It seems the products change over time. Still, we highly recommend it and would return to try new offerings!
Moshé S — Google review
You get a bit of tourist pricing in this area, but the chocolate was generally pretty good, even if we didn't love every variety. They've got many so you're sure to find something you love.
Brandon D — Google review
Adorable spot with some unique chocolate, gorgeous chocolate sented cosmetics and a great spot to try a Mayan hot chocolate!
Elene R — Google review
Amazing chocolates. The chocolate frappe was delicious and refreshing and the quality of the chocolate bars come out in the flavors. The traditional hot chocolate with spices and hot water was ok. I originally asked for the hot cocoa with milk, however the staff suggested that the spices may not taste great with milk so I had it the traditional way with water. I saved what I couldn't finish and mixed with milk the next morning and it was actually better with milk for my taste. Unfortunately, you can't taste the chocolate bars in the jars without a minimum order of 100g. I wanted to try the white chocolate and over the course of 3 days, I bought hot cocoa, a frappe, a few hot cocoa bars, and a ton of other bars. It would've been a nice gesture to give us a small taste of the white chocolate but the rules are very firm on the 100g minimum. In any case, the chocolates are worth it. They are delicious!

I was eating dinner next store and saw the sign so I knew I had to stop in. The shop is very cute with the front completely dedicated to everything chocolate from bon bons to chocolate bars to nibs to whatever you can think of. The staff literally welcomes you from the door and they are there to answer any question and help with anything you need. I ended up buying a pre-packaged gift box of chocolates. My only wish is that you could create your own assortments. So far I have tried a couple and they are delicious!! So happy I stumbled onto the shop.

We arrived first thing in the morning for breakfast. This was a charming place for my family of 6. They had a baby chair, the women's restroom had a baby changing table and my toddler could walk inside happily. The frozen smoothies were excellent and refreshing. We ordered the pineapple ( water smoothie) and mango yogurt and milk smoothies. The food was excellent and the pancakes even had a maple syrup option. The coffee choices were great as well.

The gnocchi and sauce were good, but to me drowned in cheese. They charged an extra $35 or $40 pesos for the bread, pushing the lunch cost over $300 pesos. The server seemed distracted most of the time, maybe because it was a slow time of day. Okay value for the money but not a 5-star experience.

Enjoyed our visit to this very nice spot in the plaza. Tare, our waiter was very patient and informative with us. The food was very well presented and delicious. I have never tasted crickets, Tare was kind and set them aside from my main dish, so I could try them or not.
Yolanda V — Google review
The meal was beautifully presented and everything was quite delicious. The only thing I would say about the snapper fish dish I had was it was ever so slightly overcooked. But here in the Yucatan they tend to overcook shrimp and fish a little bit rather than undercook. I would rather that than undercooked. One of the colourful carrots on the plate was not edible at all because it was so hard I couldn't even cut it with a knife. But that really is the worst I can say about this meal. My partner's salad was absolutely delicious he said. It was a great place with great service and a beautiful spot at Santa Lucia park. The dessert was absolutely delicious and it included very lovely little edible flowers on top as you can see in the picture. I would definitely recommend dining here and we would go back again ourselves.

Casa Maya is a vibrant and visually appealing restaurant that resembles an art museum. The establishment features an open-space center atrium with a proper roof allowing sunlight in, as well as an indoor air-conditioned dining area and souvenir shop. The service is highly praised, and the coffee and sweets are recommended. The place offers great photo opportunities and provides a nice retreat from the sun.
From the outside this restaurant does not look interesting, but when first inside it is amazing. Placed in an old renovated colonial style building, you can enjoy a good meal and drinks sitting in the cousy yard. We had the classic burger and the traditional pork belly with a mole style sauce. Went here twice now for lunch; both times on day trips to Merida on shore excursions. The place was decorated for Dia de Los Muertos, and the place looked so cool and festive! We started out with some local dark beers from Ceiba, a great Marzen style copper ale that I'd similar to Negra Modelo, but slightly less hoppy...Great with spicy food. We also tried their house margaritas on the rocks, which were fantastic. The Appetizer was their signature guacamole dip, with mango, which had a nice balance of flavors and was super fresh. The beef taco plate has three street tacos with nice tender strips of flank steak with little strips of Serrano peppers, onions served with a hot and tasty tinga sauce. Do yourself a favor and stop in for lunch or dinner when you visit Merida, and browse their gift and art shop for locally made artwork and jewelry.

With only love in my heart, it's on me for not learning well enough how to say "no, thank you, nevermind." This is an experience of a place and I really have to give it that. The staff were kind and lovely. The food was so bad. It was so bad. No, seriously, I multiple times took food back out of my mouth and put it on the plate. Additionally, it is the sister location of Manifesto Toastadora in downtown Centro region. Despite some internet connectivity issues, visitors praise the delicious food and great drinks at this cafe.
Such a nice place, very pretty inside, very nice, I really loved it. I got the Nutella Pancakes and got extra Nutella and it was very affordable and very yummy. Three big pancakes, very fluffy, smothered in Nutella, and it tasted amazing. The inside was so calm, so pretty, nicely decorated. The staff was very kind, and helped us a lot. Met up with my networking group. You have the option of indoor or outdoor seating. Indoors can be loud, so we opted for outside. Excellent coffee! Great pastries and food options. I don't LOVE the food, hence the four stars. They do have very creative cold brew drinks. Service is always good and prices are reasonable.
Jenita L — Google review
Always on the hunt for new breakfast spots, my wife and I decided to check out this Manifesto location for our bi-weekly breakfast outing. The restaurant is located in a peaceful part of Colonia Mexico, surrounded by trees. The building itself is modern and stylish, with a koi pond and fountain at the entrance that sets a relaxing tone. There is an indoor dining area and a pleasant outdoor patio. We weren’t sure about the mosquito situation, so we opted to sit inside. Menus were brought quickly, and our waitress returned right when we were ready to order. The coffee menu includes the usual espresso based options as well as several cold brews and frappes. The breakfast menu is also fairly typical with egg dishes, waffles, and chilaquiles. I ordered a large 16oz Americano espresso, which was probably the best coffee I’ve had in Mérida - very strong and full of flavor. My wife really enjoyed her cold brew as well. For breakfast, I had an omelet stuffed with serrano ham - excellent, though a sharper knife would’ve made it easier to cut. My wife enjoyed her chilaquiles. Service was attentive and friendly Overall, it was a great place for relaxing breakfast. The coffee was out of this world good, and prices were reasonable - our two dishes and two coffees came to $515 MXN before tip. It’s on our list of places to return.

Nice location in a mid-century modern style building. We didn't eat anything here so I can't rate the food. The selection of drinks was good, and we enjoyed the cold drinks we ordered. If we come back we will try sitting in the courtyard instead of inside, unfortunately we found the seating indoors to be very uncomfortable and we didn't want to stay. The service was very good here though.

Delicious lunch. Smoked pierna, mozzarella, spinach, tomato and avocado. The bread was warm and tasty. We both finished the side salad. Sat outside in the lovely garden. The concrete bench was hard. We don't even feel guilty that we bought baked goods to go.

Wonderful neighborhood cafe/breakfast place! The avocado toast and hummus toast were delicious and the coffees were next level. Amazing and calm atmosphere. The staff were also super kind. Five stars!

Great place, highly recommend it. The coffee is high quality, the desserts and breakfast were good. There is even a way to ask like drive thru, the inside is super cute, staff super friendly. I was there working the whole Sunday and everything was fine. That chai latte was delicious. The garden is super nice.

Cafe located in a peaceful Colonial Mexico area. It is a remodeled house, and it is comfortable because there are seats both inside and in the yard. It is crowded during weekend brunch time. There are a variety of cold brew drinks with various options, so it's good to choose and drink.

Latte Quattro Sette is a charming coffee shop known for its cozy atmosphere and delicious breakfast options. The menu offers a variety of traditional choices, including avocado toast, ham and cheese croissants, muffins, and pains au chocolat. As part of the Oliva group restaurants, it's renowned for serving illy coffee from Italy and freshly baked bread and pastries.
This is a great little cafe in my neighborhood. They have good coffee and I usually get the yogurt bowl with fruit. It's always consistently delicious and fresh. The atmosphere reminds me of a small european cafe.

Nice atmosphere suitable for relaxed conversations as well as concentrated work. Cappuccino was good. Fruit bowl with granola and yogurt was excellent (great variety of fruits and large portion). Fresh orange juice was stretched with water though, therefore lacking the 5th star.

The place is adorable!! Probably the prettiest coffee shop in/around Centro. The coffee & food are both good. The one problem is the WiFi is pretty weak if you want to work. If you just need it to go online for a few minutes it’s fine, but it’s sadly hard to work from this café.
Shelley M — Google review
This place has ridiculous prices, at least for their tea. The cappuccino is pretty good, We did not have any food. The coffee served is Illy: decent coffee but nothing like a top quality local roaster. The decor is really lovely. If you want exceptional coffee, there are much better places in town.
Erik M — Google review
Beautiful decor, friendly service, delicious coffee. Nice blend of local and tourist customers while we were there. You'll wait a little longer than you might be used to in Canada/USA for your coffee, but you're on Merida time here. We'll be indulging a few more times before heading home in a week. Gracias!!

This place look so cute BUT immediately upon sitting down we were met with rules which I attached a picture of. I have lived here for years and this is definitely a first. We can’t speak on food or drinks other than to say it is pricey because we decided to leave. Maybe this cafe is great but I have a feeling a lot of people will be bothered by rules being laid out on the table before you even order anything.

This is the best coffee shop. Not only do they make phenomenal coffee drinks, but their food and service are incredible. They have an extensive menu with a dozen ways you can have your coffee made (pour over, French press, etc.). The atmosphere and location add even more prestige to the place. It's definitely the best coffee shop I've been too.
Jason P — Google review
Great coffee, reasonable prices. While mostly any coffee here is too light in taste (as everyone uses too much water), for me as a European there’s always something missing. The coffee they served was great in taste and enough for my needs. The staff there is nice and helpful as well.

Great coffee!! Great food!! Awesome service. Very reasonable prices. I have attached their menu as well. My friend and I came to this coffee shop and were pleasantly surprised by the staff and their creative presentation of their coffees, desserts, and meal options. We are definitely making this our spot on Paseo de Montejo. It’s located right across the street from the Colon ice cream shop and next door to La trattoria, Italian restaurant.

Such a great place for breakfast! The dishes are original, but with a classic touch. Service is great and variety of coffee and soft drinks is very good. The chocolate pancakes are THE BEST we've ever had. We also ordered Marago mix, elefante sandwich, hummus and chilaquiles. Everything was great. If you're on the hunt for the best fish tacos in Merida, look no further than El Cangrejito. This charming little eatery is a cozy spot where you can indulge in an array of fresh seafood tacos, including shrimp, octopus, and fried fish—all at incredibly affordable prices. With a vibrant atmosphere and friendly service, it's a place that captures the essence of local dining. The tortillas are made fresh daily right before your eyes, adding to the authenticity of each bite.
Awesome ceviche tacos . Everything 18 peso. They close super early like 1-2pm. And their prawn and oputus sold out even before 12pm noon , so be there quick or miss
Crystal — Google review
The best seafood tacos I ever had! So tasty and only for 20 pesos each. They have several options to choose from, including shrimps, octopus or ceviche, all prepared with a tasty sauce and guacamole. The place is tiny and very familial, cute and cosy. Friendly service, all in all highly recommended.
Barbora Š — Google review
The perfect example that the simplest food is the most delicious. They have a selection of various seafood tacos to choose from- octopus, shrimp, fried fish, etc! We ordered soda but they do have beers if you are craving a cold one! The flavors of the tacos were so delicious and fresh tasting and I couldn’t believe how affordable it was… 9 tacos and 2 sodas was $240 pesos.
Patricia S — Google review
SO GOOD. The place seems ancient, the lovely fellow making the tacos has clearly been doing it for a good long while and the love he puts into each carefully assembled taco is clearly tasted. They have a little sweets table where they sell authentic Yucatecan goodies too. It’s the kind of place Bourdain would’ve loved.
Alenka S — Google review
I am mystified that the positive reviews on this restaurant. We had the most horrendous dining experience there. The tables were dirty, the food was very mediocre, they don't even have water to drink (?) and the waiter was unhelpful and very unfriendly. I speak Spanish and ordered in Spanish, so it was not a dislike to speaking English. The bathrooms were filthy. I was worried for the next 24 hours that I would have a GI bug. That would be my one positive comment about this place: I did not get sick. We were the only patrons there, so it is not like they were overwhelmed. Follow your instincts: take your business somewhere else.
Erik M — Google review
Seafood tacos were nothing special, very tiny portion. I paid 110pesos for 4 small tacos of average taste and one small beer. The premises is old as well as the toilet. I would not go again.

More stars if I could!! Food was exquisite, no menus, just smile and point. Beer and sodas. A family owned place if photos on the wall and staff interactions are any indication. We had the extra good fortune of having our tacos prepared by the master abuelo. As good as watching a sushi master.

Flores Cafe is a charming spot located in the Garcia Gineres area of Merida, offering a traditional cafe de olla drink that's hard to find elsewhere in the city. The delicious desserts, such as carrot bread and banana bread, perfectly complement the beverage. The cafe features a lovely courtyard for outdoor dining and offers an array of breakfast choices on its menu. Despite its eccentric decor, the great service and excellent omelettes make it a must-visit spot for breakfast in the neighborhood.
Great neighborhood cafe. A must for breakfast. The omelettes are excellent. The walls are filled with literary quotations by some of my favorite authors including Pessoa.

Flores Café in Mérida is an absolute delight. From the moment you step inside, the stunning floral decor creates a warm and inviting atmosphere that perfectly matches the name. We ordered Paquete 2—I had coffee, fresh orange juice, and a ham and cheese omelet, while my wife enjoyed the tacos de carne. The tacos were generously filled with flavorful meat, and the omelet was light, fluffy, and packed with cheesy goodness. If you're looking for a quiet, charming breakfast spot in Mérida, I highly recommend Flores Café. It’s a beautiful place with great food and a relaxing ambiance!
Carrie K — Google review
This was the best random find as for dining experiences found thus far in Merida. Thanks to my spouse looking on Google maps for a neighborhood he wanted to go explore. This restaurant so happened to be along route, and after reading many positive reviews, we decided to have breakfast here to see if the "hype" was true. And boy, oh boy, let's just say this is not a place to be missed. If I could afford it, I'd eat here every day! Out of all the restaurants and cafés we've dined at in Merida, Flores has the best Americano coffee and eggs covered in Mole sauce that I've ever tasted. The service is very good, and our server was very friendly and patient with us, despite the language barrier. We loved the eclectic ambiance with nice messages written all over the walls surrounded by foliage. This place has a notable zen vibe about it with pleasant music playing softly in the background. I haven't stopped thinking about this enjoyable experience, and I'm already planning a return trip back for breakfast. 😋

I visited this cafe on a Saturday at about 11 am with my partner. As you can imagine, it was brunch on a weekend, so it did have a fair amount of customers who were already seated, eating, and enjoying themselves. We were kindly asked to wait and were seated in a small waiting area tucked nicely in a corner in front (but out of the way) of the main building entryway. I'll be honest, the decor was not to my taste. It's eccentric, to say the least. Personally, there was some decor that I would have put in the trash. But oh my, was the energy absolutely everything! As we waited for a table (Max 15 min. wait. Pretty good for a Saturday brunch!) I could hear families and friends laughing and conversing with one another. This place is very family-friendly. We were seated in the backyard to the left corner. There was a shed next to us that I believe was the bathroom. People did walk by throughout our meal but it was no bother. The area was again quirky with its decorations but so beautiful when compared with the sounds of birds and serene cafe music playing in the background (Jazz & classical instrumentals). Our meals were delicious! I got the mole with 3 fried eggs. Tip: the mole is very much on the sweet side. My horchata was average. My partner got an agua naturale of grapefruit. THAT was great. They also got a torta of chorizo longaniza. Also very tasty and well-portioned. To top it all off, we ordered a crepe "marmalade and cream cheese". It was sweet and filling. The crepe itself got a little stale as it cooled but still chewable. Our server was a nice young man. He entertained my light banter and his service was quick and thorough as he checked on us throughout our dining experience. We never felt rushed as we finished our meals and paid. It was just a little past noon as we were leaving(they close at 12pm) and that's when they began to clean up and put tables/chairs away. As we walked out there were still parties seated but paying their checks to leave as well. This place was an overall wonderful experience. I will be bringing my friends and family here on their next visit. Thank you, Cafe Flores!

This is a great little find in the Garcia Gineres area of Merida close to el Centro. We went there to specifically have the traditional cafe de olla drink which they serve. It's not that easy to find in Merida now. It was delicious and so were the desserts we chose. I had pan de zanahoria (carrot bread) and my partner had pan de platano (banana bread). There is a lovely courtyard to enjoy your coffee/meal outside. Lots of breakfast choices on the menu as well. Great service.

My husband and I came here for coffee in the morning, I decided on a pastry which was really delicious. My husband had as well, I paid and while he was looking at the menu decided he wanted to have one of their full breakfasts. We had not received our pastries or coffee when he asked if he could change his order. He would have had to pay considerably more, which we were fine with, they refused, that was very disappointing. Both pastries were very good, the coffee was okay. The staff were as a whole very lovely and friendly, but we didn't go back the rest of the week. Still confused as to why say no to more money.

Pistache Mérida is a charming spot that offers a touch of France in Merida. The restaurant and bakery are highly praised for their delicious food, including the best Quiche Lorraine in town and delightful pastries. Visitors can enjoy excellent coffee, flavorful crepes, fruit tarts, and Mediterranean-style eggs. The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff make it an inviting place to savor breakfast or light meals.
Great food and service. Excellent coffee. We shared crepes and fruit tart. I’m actually back in the restaurant right now for breakfast because everything was that good. Super recommended. Pretty reasonable price considering the neighborhood. AC is a bit too cold for my taste and considering it’s the middle of winter lol.

I can't believe I have not reviewed this spot previously. We always enjoy our meals here. The menu has everything from pasta to crepes to sandwiches. Of course the pastry is delicious. The scrambled eggs are exceptional.

Food and baked goods are really good. Specially the huevos mediterráneos. Coffee is pretty decent too. The service is good when the place isn't packed. Make a reservation for breakfast on weekends. It gets pretty loud when they have a full house.

This place is absolutely amazing. The baguettes are super delicious and I’m a bread person. I literally can live off of bread. Their pasta is also fire. And the sweets are super amazing. The service is top notch. I don’t do reviews often but this one I had to. More people need to go here bc you will not be disappointed. Honestly, I can have this place for all three meals and snacks and not get tired. 😋

Vida Mía Restaurante is a charming breakfast and brunch destination nestled in Northern Mérida, radiating the bohemian spirit reminiscent of Tulum or the Riviera Maya. With its vibrant hand-painted wooden tables and a lush garden, it offers a delightful atmosphere for diners. The menu caters to all tastes, featuring an array of healthy options including smoothie bowls brimming with tropical fruits, yogurt, granola, and customizable omelettes.
I had a great solo brunch here. Comfortable vibes, pleasant service, really fresh and delicious food. I had the omelette saludable and iced latte. I’ll be back to try more!

We ordered several plates and the bread in all 3 is old and stale. Or if it’s not stale then it’s simply not the correct bread to use for toast. But it was the same issue with their bagels, very dry overall.

Cute neighborhood restaurant. Friendy staff, good service. Food was okay. Hummus was coarse and had an unusual flavour. Eggs Benny with salmon lacked any lemon flavour but they were perfectly cooked. Café frio was great. In fairness I liked the place enough so I will return and try some other items on their menu.

I love this restaurant! The staff and food are all amazing!!! I've been twice and I don't have 1 complaint at all. My favorites are the enchiladas verde and the green juice! Order anything on the menu I guarantee it'll be delicious

Good vibes, especially outdoors, but on a saturday at 9am, i should not have to wait 1hr+ for simple dishes on a 35* degree weather. TLDR: Food ok The smoothies were the best thing imo Outside is cute, wish there were more fans (especially with the long wait) Don’t come starving and get ready to wait for entry or food at busy times Bring OFF as there are too many flies (the trash is also outside by the tables??) The dishes were just ok. A couple of tables that arrived after us got their food delivered first, bummer. The blue fruit bowl was not blue coz they were out of espirulina, a little of a letdown since we did arrive early-ish. So for them to be out of it already says a bit about how their kktchen works. Servers were nice but they were not attentive as they would not come over, and when we managed to catch em to get extra straws or salt, they took just as long as if we asked extra dishes. My partner had to get up a couple of times since they just left us hanging. We ordered: - smoothies: definitely get smoothies over juices, better for the hot weather. Blue bowl: needs more fruit/toppings, the yellow smoothie part gets boring real quick. Huevos motuleños: Just ok Vida mia sandwich: Nice a fresh tasting with the cucumber and avocado. Goat cheese toast: My partner liked it

Customer service(5/5): Roberto was my waiter, I had to say that he gave me some amazing food tips and service was so fast and smooth. Food(5/5): Everything was spot on. What a great breakfast. Location(4/5): Easy to find, and restaurant has a really nice garden with huge fans so you don’t need to worry about Merida’s weather.

Absolutely love this place! Great food, atmosphere and amazing staff. Good value and consistent quality. We have made it our weekly haunt. Not to be missed.

I have tried the avocado toast and the healthy omelette. Both delicious. They both come with a tasty sourdough bread and ingredients are super fresh.
