Nestled in the heart of Merida, Casa Del Maya Bed & Breakfast Hotel is a vibrant retreat that beautifully showcases the rich culture and charm of Mexico. This colorful establishment features tastefully restored Colonial-style architecture, adorned with traditional Mexican hues and custom Mayan furnishings. Guests can enjoy a delightful stay surrounded by Oaxacan floor tiling, creating an inviting atmosphere. The property boasts lush gardens and an outdoor pool, perfect for relaxation after exploring the nearby attractions.
We found paradise in Mérida! Aaron took care of all of our needs and the owner, George, was around every day and even joined a yoga class with us. Aaron arranged a day trip to Uxmal with a visit to a chocolate museum and cenote thrown in. We really enjoyed this tour.

The noisy and dangerously loose ceiling fan looks like it is about to fly off of the ceiling, and Indiana Jone's style decapitate you. I had to switch it off as it was so loud, we couldn't sleep, and I was worried it was going to go flying across the room. Lots of random noises from the street such as dogs bark, police sirens, and motor bikes. The best part was that after leaving a verified review on Booking.com the owners sent a message to my girlfriend complaining about our honest and accurate review (no doubt they will follow up here too). Basically, this place is overpriced for what it is, the staff go home at 6pm so if you have any issues you have to phone a number and hope somebody picks up. The internet is good though, so well done there. There is parking on the street, there is no private parking.

Beautiful B&B! This place is in a good location and the property is so nice and well taken care of with a pool and many areas to sit. It’s a little oasis back there. Breakfast was tasty and staff were super friendly. When we booked through Delta Stays it said there was parking so I assumed a parking lot, but there is only street parking. If we are ever in Merida again we will return!

Beautiful place. The photos don’t do it justice. Lovely atmosphere. Aaron was very helpful. I felt very looked after. A little outside the center which liked because it was quite and I found some nice restaurants and jazz club I might not have found otherwise.
Erin W — Google review
This is a wonderful bed and breakfast. It is in a quiet neighborhood that is still close to tourist areas. Aaron, the manager, was helpful and had a lot of good suggestions for places to eat and things to do. The place is cute and the interior patio and pool are well appointed and relaxing. We enjoyed our breakfast every morning. Definitely would stay here again on my next trip to Merida.
Harold K — Google review
Not surprised that this is the leading bed and breakfast in Merida. A place with a lot of love to all the details and the atmosphere is great. The host is super friendly and makes him one of the greatest hosts that we met in Mexico. So if you are planning to stay in Mira then this is the place to go. It is also very close to the centre and you can get there by foot. we will come back and thank you all for this great stay at your place and the great talks. Wish you all the best.

If you're looking for a place to stay in Merida, search no more. This truly is the one you're looking for. We stayed here for 3 nights and we would go back immediately. Amazing, big rooms with the best beds, super friendly service, staff is very interested in your plans for the day and loves giving some extra local tips. And when they breakfast, just amazing. Every day you get something different, fresh as ever. We're going back some day! Thanks for a great stay!

If you are looking for a place to stay in this wonderful city, pick this one. Location wise is perfect. A lot of Merida places of interest are on walking distance. It's also located in a quiet place so our nights were relaxing and restful. The hosts and staff were amazing and really friendly. They had plenty of tips and suggestions on what to do to maximize your stay. Our room was cozy, bright, full of lovely colors and clean, they also come with AC which is really nice since the weather is very hot. Breakfast was tasty and fulfilling. There was plenty of coffee to drink. I definitely recommend this place. Thanks to the owners for making us feel at home.

Casa Dos Lirios is a charming boutique bed and breakfast located just a short drive from the International Congress Center of the Yucatan. The hotel offers Standard, King, or Queen rooms with amenities such as free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and private bathrooms with complimentary toiletries. Guests have praised the hotel for its stunning oasis-like ambiance and lovely outdoor area. The owners are known for their genuine passion for hospitality.
We have had a great stay in this place. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are spacious, the staff is welcoming and having a breakfast in the patio is really relaxing. The location is quite good, not so far from the center.
Dinozzo — Google review
We recently stayed here and absolutely loved our experience. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Our two favorite things about our stay was; the fresh cooked breakfast in their beautiful courtyard and the location, it’s close enough to walk to any restaurant/bar you would like to go to in Merida. - Also, Juan was a wonderful host that is happy to help with any recommendations you may need 4.5/5
Bryce W — Google review
We loved our stay in this hotel. The rooms vere beautiful with big beds and hot showers. The staff was very nice and they prepared very tasty breakfast ♥️

This hotel is a literal oasis in Mérida. Absolutely stunning hotel that offers a really nice breakfast. The whole outside area is really lovely. The owner of the hotel has a true passion for hospitality. On the first morning we had a great server for breakfast. I left my purse and he literally ran after me down the street. The following morning unfortunately the service was very slow, and all the servers hid in the kitchen so you often would have to get up and find them for anything. Apart from that, this place is wonderful. If you're thinking of booking, don't hesitate! Thank you Juan!
P 8 — Google review
The location is incorrect on google maps, which they know about, but it’s not until you pay your reservation that they let you know. It show to be in the downtown area but it is far away from there.

Great place to stay in Mérida. Beautiful rooms and swiming pool area. They have only a few rooms, so it’s very peaceful. Friendly staff and good breakfast.
Jolanta D — Google review
My family stayed at Casa Dos Lirios for a week - the rooms and bathrooms are spacious, clean and private, and the A/C was the quietest I have ever experienced! The beds are incredibly comfortable. Sue and Steve are amazing hosts and the breakfast each morning was delicious. Merida is a lovely city and a great base for exploring the Yucatan. We saw cenotes, the beach, and the Maya ruins at Uxmal, all within an easy drive from Casa Dos Lirios. The location in the Centro part of Merida is perfect for exploring the city - easy walking distance to the historic sites, cool restaurants and fun bars. Cannot recommend highly enough - our stay was perfect!

Casa Lool Beh is a relaxed guesthouse in Merida, Mexico, offering simple rooms with air conditioning. Guests appreciate the warm and welcoming atmosphere created by the friendly hosts, Ananda and Jose, who make everyone feel like family. The property features a plunge pool and a beautiful garden where guests can relax or take yoga classes. The location is ideal, within walking distance to the city center but still quiet for a peaceful stay.
This is such a nice place! Ananda welcomed me with a lot of hospitality, tips for my time in Mérida. They take really good care of the house and it feels like a home. There's a lounge, dining table and a really nice garden to chill in. And 2 furry friends who are super friendly too! ❤️ Thank you for everything!
Stien S — Google review
We had an amazing stay! The private room was like a little apartment away from the main house. The beds are very comfortable. There is loads of room and the air conditioning is excellent. The pool is nice and the outside area is calm and quiet with lots of birds. The kitchen facilities are excellent with free coffee and water and cooking facilities available. It felt more like being welcomed into a home than a hotel. An oasis in the city!
David D — Google review
Beautiful house with an amazing patio and design. The host is so lovely and makes you feel like home. It is also located very well with only a few minutes into the city centre, where you can find all the restaurants and bars. Only thing: when you have the room with the balcony on top, it can be very noisy because of the cars and motorcycles passing by. So if you're sensitive to noise, ask for an apartment without balcony. But it was no big deal for us because we were very tired after a long day and had oropax.
Evelyn D — Google review
I so enjoyed my time at Casa Lool Beh, Ananda and Jose felt like family. I appreciated the energy of the home and hosts, even their dogs, who were so sweet and well behaved. The pool was just perfect and the vibe was perfect after having travelled for awhile. I extended my stay here as I wasn't ready to pack up and leave. There's a great cantina a block or so away and the location is perfect, walkable to centro (10 mins) and quiet home. Thank You for helping to make my stay in Merida so memorable 💖 💕
Michele D — Google review
Easily our favourite hotel so far travelling in Mexico. The friendliest owners in Ananda and Jose. We really liked when we first arrived, they gave us a tour of the hotel and introduced us to guests which is always helpful to make it less awkward. The rooms are really nicely decorated, with a great desk to work from, really good cupboard space, perfectly working wifi and a cute little bathroom (with hot water if needed although the water naturally heats up so isn't really ever needed). The rest of the house is really clean as well, my girlfriend did a yoga class downstairs which was really good for only 100 pesos, and use of the kitchen was really helpful for breakfast, and free coffee! Last but not least, in the boiling heat that Merida seems to have (when we were there it felt hotter than anywhere else) they also have a lovely pool at the back of the garden perfect for cooling off. Wait, ONE MORE thing, they also have 2 really fun well behaved loving dogs Valentine and Rulo.
Michael G — Google review
The accommodation is great and Ananda and José are amazing hosts. We felt super comfortable from the first moment. The location is ideal to get to the city quickly by foot. In the super cozy garden with pool, it is very good to relax after day trips. Rooms are functionally furnished and very clean. The coffee in the morning promises a good start into the day 😉. In short; there is a great energy and we liked it extremely well. We will definitely be back!!!
Jenny H — Google review
Best stay ever. The house of Ananda and José is so cute and welcoming. We felt like home. Ananda took time for us to explain all the specifics of the house. And we had a pdf with all the recommandations, tones of Books in the house in case of you are looking for something to do. Thanks a lot Ananda ! The room was clean, comfy and big enough to feel at ease. With the air conditionair, ceiling fan and a private bathroom. We slept very well. It was so quiet🛌🧡. We had the posibilty to make us thé or café. We used the pool everyday. It felt so good because Merida is really a hot city. You can also do Yoga if you are up to. The location was very good(10 min walking from the center!) To sum up it is a little paradise in the Merida city where you can rest properly. Recommandation 100%🔝🔝🔝⏫⏫❤️ Hasta proxima y muchas gracias !

One of the warmest, feel at home places I ever stayed. From the beggining Jose and Ananda will make you feel welcome, it is indeed and experience to stay at 'casa loolbeh' the central location is just the beggining, the garden with pool at the back of the house is like an oasis in the middle of the busy downtown streets of Merida, bed is super comfy and the indoor spaces of the house are lovely and quite large. The hosts have such a nice and relax personality, they know their way around, they gave me excelent recomendations for local activities, not to mention their 2 dogs which are the soul of the house, if you are a pet lover you definitely need to know these fury fellows. Thank you for a wonderfull couple of nights, it was surely a plus of my trip to meet you guys.

Ochenta y Dos is a charming urban bed & breakfast nestled in the heart of Merida. This Spanish Colonial-style B&B offers cozy accommodations with four poolside guestrooms, each featuring king-size beds, luxurious bedding, and rain showers. Guests can enjoy a range of amenities including an outdoor pool, steam room, rooftop terrace, and complimentary WIFI. The hosts are known for their warm hospitality and extensive knowledge of the area.
Wife and I spent three nights here to round out our time in the Yucatan. What a high note to end on! The property itself is wonderful from the comfy bed to the beautiful decor. The highlight though are the wonderful hosts (Dave and Pat) and their four dogs. They will make you feel at home in minutes, and by the end of your stay you will feel like you are saying good bye to old friends. This is what a B&B is supposed to be. A few tips: Don’t even think about skipping one of their delicious breakfasts around the dining room table - convivial banter and laughter with the other guests always included. Do at least one tour organized and led by Dave (we did Edzna and Campeche). Get a massage from the wonderful Cesar. Take advantage of the pool and steam room. Consult the hosts for on point recommendations for dining and activities. And finally grab a signed book from Dave on your way out (he can even tell you about his current project).
Stephen H — Google review
From the moment we booked, Dave was in touch with great tips—even connected us with a car service from our hotel in Cancun, which made everything so easy. When we arrived, Dave, Patrick, and their sweet pups welcomed us like old friends. Their home is gorgeous, tucked into a real neighborhood but just a short walk to great restaurants and everything we wanted to explore in Merida. They had the best food recommendations, and breakfast each morning was something we looked forward to—not just the delicious food, but the chance to chat with them and the other guests. One of the highlights was a tour they put together just for us—a perfect mix of history, a stunning hacienda, and a cenote swim we’ll never forget. It’s easy to see why people fall in love with Ochenta y Dos. We came as guests, and by the time we left, it felt more like we were visiting friends. Thank you, Dave and Patrick—we can’t wait to come back.
Fahti Y — Google review
A beautiful house with all the charm of Mexican architecture, and modern comforts. The details, furnishings and decor are unique and harmonious and the hosts warm and welcoming, the rooms face a patio with a fabulous pool and the bed and bathroom were very comfortable. A truly relaxing and enriching experience.
Bianca O — Google review
Review Ochenta y Dos is a true gem. Tucked away on a fairly quiet street, yet it is close enough to all the main city attractions. It is an easy 30 minute walk to Calle 47 (the new culinary district), Plaza Grande (the main city square) and Parque de Santa Lucia (the Thursday night concert area with excellent restaurants). Uber service to and from was easy and quick. David is an excellent, attentive host. He communicated clearly and frequently (using WhatsAp) before our arrival. He served a chilled welcome drink upon arrival, and prepared a delicious, hearty breakfast each morning. The dining room is a visual treat - curated full of beautiful art and a collection of “carry-on treasures” from their travels. The room was spacious with a comfortable king bed along with a plant-filled open-air shower in the ensuite. The little things really add up. The bed linens have been carefully chosen to ensure a good night’s sleep (not too hot, not too cold). The pool is clean and heated. The magazines convey a wealth of local intel. The music playlist throughout the day is perfect for relaxing. Various seating areas throughout (the main house patio, the pool deck, and outside each room) create little vignettes that welcome you to slow down and enjoy a glass of wine. It was a truly wonderful stay. Thank you David!
Susan S — Google review
This was such a lovely and perfect place for our family to stay during our visit to Merida! Dave and Patrick were amazing hosts and we truly enjoyed meeting them and exploring the area. Dave was a wonderful guide who took us on two excursions that we will always remember. The pool was gorgeous, the breakfasts were amazing, and the rooms were extremely nice! We especially appreciated the beds - so comfortable and high quality. Thank you so much.

*Must like dogs! There are 5 of them from 2-17 years old. David and Patrick are wonderful hosts who made us feel welcome in their small, peaceful oasis near downtown. This place is friendly, relaxing, and casual, not fancy. The pool is heated and we were welcome to use it at all hours. David arranged a masseuse for us one night. He makes delightful breakfasts. There is a steam room and a rooftop. Parking is free on the street. The location is convenient.

5 out of 5 for Ochenta Y Dos! From the warm welcome, to the excellent breakfasts, luxurious accommodations and divine swimming pool it’s the perfect stay in Merida! Dave and Patrick took very good care of us the entire stay with great recommendations and linking us up with a private driver. They are the epitome of class and warmth, cannot recommend enough! We hope to be back!
David R — Google review
Warm, relaxed atmosphere. The room Is comfortable with refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and very comfortable bed. Steps from the room is a heated pool. The breakfasts were delicious. Dave is a great cook and tour guide. We went on three different excursions to popular travel sites with Dave. There is a steam room, weight room and massage room on property. There are only three guest rooms so it is quiet and easy to get to know the other guests. A great place to unwind. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Uber is readily available in Merida and inexpensive. There is no need to walk any where. We often did walk to the Main Street. It is about a one mile walk. Long enough to get some exercise.

This was my second time visiting Nuik and it never disappoints… this time I brought my daughter and she was very happy playing with the kitty and eating amazing breakfast by the pool. Claudia scheduled a taxi for us to go to see the flamingos and also a shuttle to the beach. She was very attentive while we were coming from the airport and give us very detailed information. I even got to have a massage that she was kind enough to book for me, this mama needed a me time! Love it here highly recommended 💕

We spent just over 2 weeks travelling across Mexico and our stay at Nuik Casa Tropical was the best one without any doubt. We loved what Claudia (the owner) did with the property - it felt very much authentic and cosy, yet modern. Our room was very big and spotless, with a large bed (which is not that common in Mexico). The outdoor space, with a small cute swimming pool and plenty of greenery really made our stay something special. The only weak point is the location - half an hour walking to the center. Besides that, absolutely recommended!

One of the best places to stay in Mérida! Nuik is just a tropical paradise, beautifully decorated and developed to take you to relax mode. Claudia and her staff are kind and attentive, making you feel at home. I'm grateful for the hospitality and attention and can't wait to come back🙏😊

Absolutely wonderful stay at Nuik. It's a very unique property that is extremely tranquil yet close to everything in Mérida. Rooms are quite comfortable, breakfast delicious, pool very nice to cool off from the heat, but the highlight was undoubtedly the kindness received from Claudia and her team. Very, very welcoming and professional. Highly recommended.

Nuik is the place to stay in Merida. The design harmoniously integrates modern comforts with the history of the house. And the host Claudia is wonderful. I am sure you will have an unforgettable experience.

Nuik is a true hidden gem! Claudia has clearly put a lot of time and attention into every little detail. The space is beautiful and relaxing, truly designed with a lot of taste. The rooms are spacious and really comfortable. The team is lovely and attentive. Claudia helped us with planning a beach outing outside of town with great recommendations, and was also really helpful and present when my partner got sick from travelling. Really couldn’t recommend this place more for your stay in Merida!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had an absolutely enchanting experience at Boutique Hotel Casa Nuik! From the moment I stepped in, I was captivated by the charming ambiance and impeccable attention to detail. Claudia, the owner, is a true gem – her warmth and dedication to ensuring a memorable experience for her guests shine through. The personalized service made me feel like a cherished friend rather than just a visitor. The rooms are simply furnished, combining modern comfort with a touch of local flair. Every corner of the hotel seems to have a story to tell, and I loved exploring the unique decor. What truly sets Casa Nuik apart is its central location – nestled in the heart of the city, making it a perfect launchpad for exploring local attractions. Claudia's recommendations for nearby restaurants, cafes, and adventure tours were spot-on. If you're seeking a boutique hotel that seamlessly blends luxury, warmth, and cultural immersion, look no further than Casa Nuik. My time there was nothing short of magical, and I can't wait to return. Thank you, Claudia, for creating such a haven for travelers!

The hosts, with their kindness and helpfulness, transformed the stay into a genuine "home away from home," offering valuable recommendations that enriched our exploration of the city. This hidden gem not only provided a beautifully crafted space but also a warm and inviting atmosphere, a true respite from the exhaustion of travel and chaos of the city. It's a unique haven where thoughtful design meets genuine hospitality, a truly unforgettable travel experience.

Kuka y Letras is a charming bed and breakfast located in the heart of Merida, offering a delightful breakfast every morning. The hotel's exceptional decoration takes guests on a journey through Latin American literature. With spacious and tidy rooms, it provides easy access to explore the capital of Yucatan without relying on expensive transportation services. Guests can enjoy organic and local breakfast options, including vegan choices, while appreciating the attentive staff and the hotel's strong environmental policy.
Lovely boutique hotel in Merida. Made and decoration with taste, spacious rooms and lovely staff. If I would go back to Merida I would stay here!

(Translated by Google) Superb, perfectly decorated hotel (it's an annex of Kuka y Melpa, with the same reception). Located a 10-15 minute walk from the central square (no security concerns for those who have that concern). You can park your car on the street. The hotel's atmosphere is cozy and quiet. The room was a good size, the bed very comfortable. A large shower with hot water. We had a wonderful, quiet night's sleep. Breakfast is prepared fresh for all three rooms, but it takes a long time to serve.

(Translated by Google) Very well-kept structure in vintage Mexican style. The welcome was warm and attentive to all the details, the house where the rooms are is very cute, with a beautiful internal atrium with a small pool and lots of greenery. The room is small but very comfortable, huge and very comfortable bed and spacious bathroom with a fantastic shower! It is a bit decentralized but we were with a rental car so it was not a problem. The area at first sight can inspire some fear but it turned out to be quiet, after a bit of settling in you feel perfectly safe! Highly recommended!!! (Original) Struttura curatissima in stile vintage messicano. Consigliatissimo!!!

(Translated by Google) I'll start with what I liked: The decor and design of the house has a unique touch. The bed was comfortable. The staff is friendly, with details I'll get into later. The sandwiches they left ready for us the next day were fabulous. It's like being in your own home; you have a quiet living room, a kitchen with the basics, and the pool is a must. The bathroom amenities smell delicious of honey. You can see out the windows perfectly, but inside you have complete privacy. The neighborhood where it's located is quiet; there aren't many businesses nearby, but it's easily accessible and offers the city's characteristic security. What could be improved: Communication among the staff. I met at least four people, and it seems they didn't leave everything out. For example, due to the construction issue next door, they offered to compensate us by choosing some services at no additional cost. The first day did happen, but the second day wasn't what we expected. Due to an issue with the bathroom, it took them a long time to fix it, wasting time that, at least because we had a tour, we couldn't afford to wait long. The solution was to change rooms, which took longer than expected. After that, they sent me a message saying someone from reception would meet me, but that never happened. At checkout, I was expecting something and they just told me to leave the key on the kitchen counter. Cleaning the refrigerator should be a priority; there were leftover food and dead mosquitoes inside. If they had left us wipes or something to clean it, it would have been possible. The day we were leaving, the door was open because the batteries had died, so anyone could have gotten in, which is unlikely, but not impossible. I don't recommend it during the week; only on weekends when the builders are resting and there was no noise or materials in the yard or going up the stairs. I hope they finish their next project as new and this one is just as charming. For the price-quality, for the time and the details, I considered other options.

I’m glad we found this fairly new place to stay during our Mérida visit. Juan did a great job restoring his family house into a charming place where you’re away from the buzz but still close enough to walk to several amazing breakfast and dining places. The Hotel Hacienda Merida is a beautifully restored 1820s colonial-style hotel in the heart of Merida. The property is modern and refreshing with all the amenities you could need, while still preserving its historic charm. All the air-conditioned rooms have wooden floors and a canopy bed with Egyptian cotton sheets, making it perfect for an escape from the city. There's also an elegant pool area and restaurant.
Would give it extra stars if I could. The location was perfect - walking distance from major attractions. The hacienda gives you that colonial feel and rooms were spacious and clean. However, what was really extraordinary was the attention to detail by the staff, specifically Isaac and Alfref. They really made us feel at home, got to know us all by name (we were a group of 8) and helped coordinate tours we wanted to take. Will definitely be returning!

Great location and a nice enough hotel. It's clean and the staff are helpful. Water is only warm at times not hot and the bed is very hard. It's located nest to a hostel that can be quite loud until 2300. The breakfast is pretty good and the grounds are nice. Adding double glazing for noise, fixing the hot water and upgrading the bed would make this place a gem.

Everything about this Hacienda turned Hotel was stellar. It was quiet and peaceful, with tons of historic character, while still only a few blocks from some of the main areas and restaurants in Merida. The rooms are clean and spacious, with air con and wifi. The hotel bar and restaurant was only open at certain times, which meant that nothing too "rowdy" happened in the evenings and you could really wind-down after a long day of travel or exploration. The menu is limited but delish - the margaritas are freshly made with love and the huevos montulenos at breakfast are amazing. Plenty of towels in the room as well as by the pool areas (of which there are 3)! There is free parking in a gated garage about a block away - very convenient and safe. Most importantly, the staff at Hotel Hacienda was superb. Every morning, afternoon, and evening we were greeted with smiles and well wishes. When we asked questions, no one blinked an eye at helping us. I would recommend this hotel to all my friends and family.

Each suite is uniquely styled, ranging from the original floor-tiled Colonial to the spacious pool-view Frontier.
The Diplomat is one of the best hotels we've ever visited. The reviews are accurate! The property is stunning. The rooms are ideal. Better yet, the overall vibe feels like staying with a really cool, well-traveled family member. Everything is done with so much love and joy - from the gift shop with hand-selected local items, to the daily breakfast that showcases local produce, to the beautiful staff who are warm and genuine, without being overbearing. Just perfect!

Absolutely Outstanding Experience! My stay at this hotel was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived, every detail exceeded my expectations. The breakfast was a real highlight—delicious, varied, and beautifully presented each morning. The rooms were incredibly stylish, spotless, and offered a peaceful retreat after a busy day. I was especially impressed by the quiet atmosphere and the thoughtful design touches throughout. The staff truly made my stay unforgettable. They were unfailingly friendly and genuinely attentive, always ready with a great recommendation yet never intrusive. Upon my arrival, they had already made a dinner reservation for me at a wonderful local restaurant (with no obligation, of course), which was a delightful surprise and made me feel truly welcome. All in all, I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. Every aspect was simply outstanding!

You have to stay at this hotel. You will not regret it. My amazing experience began even before I arrived. Sara, the owner, reached out to me personally to offer special options for my stay. When I got there, her staff greeted me with a warm welcome, a tour, and a drink and snacks—the perfect start after a long flight. The hotel itself is marvelous. The design is thoughtful, and the spacious, comfortable rooms feel luxurious and peaceful. Fresh flowers and plants add a beautiful touch. The hospitality is truly phenomenal. The staff is top-notch and their kindness shows in every detail, from the kind notes and cookies left in my room to the daily cleaning. They even gave great recommendations for places to see and eat. The breakfast is also fantastic; you can tell the chefs are passionate about what they do. They truly go above and beyond. I mentioned I was celebrating my birthday, and they surprised me with decorations in my room. This hotel takes the time to get to know you. This is the best hotel I have ever stayed at, and I can't recommend it enough.

I’m not entirely sure how hotel star ratings are determined, but if ever a place deserved five stars, it’s The Diplomat Hotel. From the moment I arrived, I felt comforted. That may not be the word most would choose, but for me, it's everything—especially when landing somewhere new. I had a very rough flight into Mérida, one that left me quite ill, and I’ve been carrying the weight of some deeply stressful personal circumstances. So to find myself in a space so serene, so welcoming, so impeccably maintained—it felt like a gift. Every element of The Diplomat feels intentional. You can sense the love and thought behind it all. There’s a story behind each piece of furniture, every fixture, and the small daily rituals that make the experience feel quietly luxurious. And the soul of the space is its people. The staff are not only gracious, they are deeply thoughtful—and that spirit begins with Sara, the owner, whose presence is as integral as any design choice. She sets the tone, and it ripples through the entire experience. I spent two days of my stay recovering from that difficult arrival, and they cared for me in a way that went far beyond hospitality—checking in often, bringing ginger tea, offering ice packs, and making sure I felt safe. It wasn’t just service. It was care, offered with heart. I couldn’t recommend The Diplomat more, and I’m already looking forward to the day I am able to return.

A Magical Honeymoon at The Diplomat Boutique Hotel!! My husband and I finally took our long-overdue honeymoon to Mérida, Mexico this past January (2025), and we had the absolute pleasure of staying at The Diplomat Boutique Hotel. I think it's taken me this long to write this review because I’ve missed it so much — I cried the day we left. The hotel itself is clean, beautifully designed, and perfect in every way. It feels like a true oasis. Neil, Sara, and the rest of the staff could not have been more gracious, welcoming, and kind — they made us feel like family from the moment we arrived. As a big foodie who also eats gluten-free, I was blown away by the breakfasts — each one was fresh, flavorful, thoughtfully prepared, and tailored to my dietary needs. Truly, truly, truly top-notch. If you're looking for a magical, memorable experience in Mérida, please do yourself a favor and stay here. You will not be disappointed. We are counting the days we can go back!

Absolutely the best hotel, minus a gym, i have ever been to. The rooms have very very high ceilings and are incredibly charming. Fresh flowers everywhere. The service was unmatched anywhere in the U.S. They were over-accomodating. The meatless breakfast was perfect. They gave me and partner (girlfriend) recommendations for restaurants, bars, and attractions. They even had daily free tequila (various types). The location is a little out of the way of the main tourist attractions, but it costs close to nothing to catch an urber. This was an incredible find. If you ever go to Merida, stay at the Diplomat!!!!!

B&B and Gallery La Pantera Negra is a charming hotel located in the historic center of Merida, Mexico. The property offers individually decorated rooms with modern amenities, including flat-screen TVs and free Wi-Fi. Guests can enjoy the outdoor pool, garden terraces, and an art gallery on-site. The B&B also provides complimentary breakfast and room service. Visitors have praised the warm hospitality of the hosts and highlighted the relaxing atmosphere of the place.
We had a wonderful stay at La Pantera Negra in Mérida! The house is beautifully old and feels like stepping into an art gallery, with every corner full of character. Gina and Jean-Pierre are incredible hosts – their hospitality truly made the experience special. Jean-Pierre is exceptionally knowledgeable about Mérida and Mexico, offering great tips and insights, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The two lovely dogs added a sweet touch to the atmosphere as well. Breakfast on the upstairs terrace was the perfect way to start the day. While the stay was fantastic overall, I did notice a small issue with faint smell of mold in the room. However, Jean-Pierre’s warm and informative presence more than made up for this minor detail. I would still highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a cozy, charming stay in Mérida.
Revaz N — Google review
I'm struggling with this review. The owners meant well and tried hard but at the end of the day it was one of the more expensive places we stayed and therefore gets greater inspection. Firstly, when you arrive in 30deg heat after 5hrs of travelling you just want your room, you don't want a 20min lecture on the languages of Mexico. We couldn't ever get in or out without a conversation and perhaps we just didn't want that level of scrutiny. It's a bit run down, especially the garden and nobody would ever go near that pool. We didn't get a hot shower the whole time there. The breakfasts where nice but again accompanied by continuous conversation. I am sure some people would love this.
Barry P — Google review
I rate this b&b five stars mainly because the host Gina & Jean-Pierre were the best, very friendly and informative. We had two rooms and really enjoyed our stay. The place is about five long block from the main plaza, however nothing much really close by. The Uber ride to the close by restaurants was only $3 or $4 US dollars. There are a couple of negatives, there was no water and/or hot water on several occasions. Jean-Pierre tried to stay on top of this but it was definitely a problem. The back patio could be really nice but was not upkeep and the pool was not usable. I enjoyed my stay there but feel obligated to point out these problems

Our stay at La Pantera Negra Bed & Breakfast/Galleria was delightful. The owners Gina and Jean-Pierre are very kind. They are also quite knowledgeable about the area and will gladly recommend different things to do while staying in Mérida. The continental breakfast they provide daily was just the right amount of food and was very tasty as well. It is centrally located at about a 10 minute walking distance to the main plaza, the market, the bus station, and different restaurants. My wife and I truly enjoyed our first time staying in Mérida and would return & stay here in the future! ~ Hugo & Vero

An interesting, quirky place that is a B&B and an art gallery at the same time, operated by the owners. The place is quiet, located in the working class neighborhood not far from the centre. Our room was comfortable, except for a few small issues. The breakfast is served with love and is accompanied by some good stories about Merida's history, but not very good for its own merit.

During our 2 month trip throughout Mexico, this was the best accommodation. The interior is beautiful and well-kept. The rooms are tasteful and comfortable. Breakfast is French-style with local ingredients, and they accommodate personal dietary requirements. They are helpful and have great recommendations on where to eat and what to see and do in and around Merida. The prices are also good value for money. Jean-Pierre and Gina are the best hosts ever! Next time we come to Merida, we wouldn't think twice about booking this place again.

This was a great place to stay in Mérida ♥️ It is well kept. The art is great as well as the atmosphere and the rooms are clean. Jean-Pierre and Gina provide a wealth of knowledge of the area and their recommendations were awesome. They also have 2 loving doggies, Chavela and Mostaza. We would definitely stay here again.

Casona 66 is a charming boutique hotel located in Merida, just 1 km from Museo de Arte Contemporaneo. The property features a swimming pool and parking for guests. The historic building has been beautifully renovated, offering a cozy and comfortable atmosphere. Guests praise the spacious and modern rooms, with amenities like comfortable beds, great water pressure, blackout curtains, and textured tile floors in the showers for safety.
My husband and I had an absolutely wonderful stay here. Judith and Danny are welcoming and warm hosts. As others have written, the house is beautiful and clean - with an interior courtyard of exotic trees and flowering plants. Our room was cozy and the bed comfortable. Judith’s breakfasts are truly delectable and she even filled my special request for kiwis. 🥝 We hope to return!

Judy was so welcoming. I appreciated having a private balcony but also really enjoyed chatting with other guests in the courtyard after breakfast.

Nice location, near to main plaza, but far enough away to avoid noise. The house is spotlessly clean and well maintained by very friendly American expats living the dream, who will go out of their way to help make your stay memorable. Good aircon in our room and nicely decorated. Breakfast was great - something different each morning.

We spent three nights at Casona 66 and couldn't be happier with our choice. The location is fantastic, only a 5-10 minute walk from the main square and easy access to the market and Paseo de Montejo. The owners and hosts, Judy and Danny, are a wonderful couple. They've done a fantastic job renovating this historic building; once you walk in the front doors, you're in a beautiful and very cozy home. We had the Esmeralda room on the top floor, which was spacious and very comfortable. Every morning we enjoyed delicious coffee and breakfast prepared by Judy. We'll definitely stay with them again on our next trip to Merida.

We spent 5 nights at this charming boutique hotel and loved every minute of our stay in Merida! Our hosts Judy and Danny were fantastic and fun (and I love thier kitties Zuzu & Luca 😊). The hotel is absolutely stunning and had the cleanest and most comfortable rooms we’ve seen through our travels in Mexico. The location near the historic center is perfect! And Judy makes the best coffee accompanied by an amazing breakfast I can’t recommend this place enough! We will definitely be back to Casona 66!

Amazing place! A lovely little hotel in the heart of Merida. You'll remember the superior service from owners Judy and Danny for the rest of your life. Enjoy the atmosphere, the comfort and Judy's masterpiece breakfasts😊

Excellent stay. Wonderful retreat from the hectic El Centro hussle and bussle. Modern rooms. Comfortable bed. Great water pressure. Blackout curtains. Shower has textured tile on the floor. No worry about slipping. Hot water. Good WiFi. Very friendly and attentive staff. Well maintained pool. Crystal clear water. Great value. I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed my 4 days here.

Rosas & Xocolate Boutique Hotel + SPA is a luxurious hotel located in the Paseo Montejo area of Merida, combining two stunning French-style mansions to create a unique accommodation experience. The rooms feature elegant decor with high ceilings, wooden furnishings, and modern amenities such as outdoor jacuzzis, BOSE sound systems, and flat-screen TVs.
I got the Deluxe Exfoliation package with a relaxing massage at the Spa and it was one of the best massages I have ever had. Tonia was amazing. She asked questions about my problem areas and really paid special attention to them. Overall, it was an amazing experience because of Tonia!

If you can avoid this place do it, they advertise free parking not parking at all, you need to park on the street at your own risk. They advertise luxury boutique not true, we tried to go to the upper terrace the bar was in terrible conditions. Excellent staff good breakfast, good location.

Thank you for a lovely stay at Rosas y Xocolate. Our room was right next to the pool which felt like a real treat, as we could enjoy the peaceful atmosphere just off the bustle of the Main Street. Even though there were 3 of us in the room it felt like there was plenty of space, with a separate bedroom and lounge. The staff were friendly and attentive, and patient with me trying to practise my Spanish. We really enjoyed the complementary breakfast, including a hot drink, juice, pastry, and an option from the extensive menu. I would particularly recommend the smoked salmon bagel. The location was perfect, about a 20 minute walk to the main square but lots to see closer too. This was a perfect start to our trip across the peninsula and would recommend Rosas to anyone considering a trip to Merida.
Lynsey B — Google review
My stay at Rosas & Xocolate Boutique Hotel and Spa in Mérida was a delightful experience that left a lasting impression, thanks to its unique charm and warm hospitality. Nestled in the heart of Mérida, this boutique hotel stands out with its breathtaking architecture and distinctive style. The fusion of colonial elegance with bold pink and chocolate-hued accents creates a visually striking ambiance that feels both luxurious and whimsical. Every corner of the property, from the lush courtyard to the meticulously designed rooms, showcases a thoughtful blend of modern sophistication and Yucatecan heritage. The attention to detail in the decor—think vibrant tiles, artisanal touches, and elegant furnishings—makes it a haven for anyone who appreciates aesthetic excellence. The staff at Rosas & Xocolate deserves high praise for their friendliness and professionalism. From the moment I arrived, they were welcoming, attentive, and eager to ensure my stay was comfortable. Whether it was offering recommendations for exploring Mérida’s vibrant cultural scene or accommodating special requests, their service added a personal touch that elevated the entire experience. The on-site amenities, including the spa and the restaurant, further enhanced my stay. The restaurant, in particular, served up delicious dishes that beautifully blended local flavors with a gourmet twist, making every meal a treat. However, there was one peculiar aspect of my stay that stood out for the wrong reasons: the hotel’s deposit policy. Upon checking in, they charge a deposit, which is fairly standard, but by the end of the stay, they retain a single cent from the refund. This practice felt odd and unnecessary, and it’s something I haven’t encountered at any other hotel I’ve stayed at worldwide. While it’s a minor amount and didn’t significantly detract from the experience, it left me puzzled and slightly annoyed, as it seemed like an unusual quirk for an otherwise polished establishment.Overall, Rosas & Xocolate is a fantastic choice for travelers seeking a boutique hotel with character, style, and heart in Mérida. The stunning architecture, exceptional staff, and unique vibe make it a standout. If you can overlook the odd deposit practice, this hotel is well worth a visit for a memorable stay in the Yucatán. I’d happily recommend it to anyone looking for a blend of luxury and local charm!

This is a really charming hotel in a renovated mansion on a beautiful avenue. I stayed in the master suite - it was bright and airy, had massively high ceilings, was comfortable and spotless. (I did get an upgrade and for those of you with Bonvoy status, the staff did a great job of recognizing and valuing me throughout my weeklong stay. They were helpful, courteous and attentive) Crisiant, the Sales Manager, was particularly helpful. He contacted me promptly after my booking to assist with spa appointments and suggesting and arranging excursions. His assistance was valuable in planning my visit, as I had done little to no research before booking. The hotel's location is convenient for exploring the city. Paseo de Montejo is beautiful, offered a good base for walking to many city attractions and experiencing the local area. There are so many really good restaurants and shops in easy walking distance. It's a really great choice for a more than comfortable stay in Mérida.

I came for the food and dispute all of the less than 5 star reviews, I still went. I have to say the food was fantastic!! I got the Eggs Benedict and the chef did not disappoint!!! From the perfect hollandaise and poached egg to the mimosa...Fantastic!! The service was also top shelf. I was afraid to try the coffee because of all the bad reviewers who complained about the coffee, food and service but I'll definitely try it the next time I go back. If the coffee is the only thing that some people gave bad reviews, I'll skip it!

We always stop by here to get their pear salad. The other food was very good as well.

I've always had a rather ambivalent regard for the Pet Shop Boys. Whilst their tunes are undeniably catchy their lyrics often humorous and clever they are equally often let down by a rather laboured rhyme or a clichéd phrase. However, I've often found myself quoting the line from the song Left to My Own Devices that states "...learn to ignore what the photographer saw" and that's what you need to do at Rosas and Xocolate. Rarely has a website been so misleading. See photos. There certainly aren't any Roses and no Chocolate either 😕 😄 But let's start with the positives. The hotel staff are accommodating and polite (special mention for the breakfast server Sophie) with a comprehensive breakfast menu of decent quality and the location is very good. That's it. Now the reasons I wouldn't return. In general the hotel is unloved and poorly maintained. On arrival, the lobby had a large broken glass candle holder, the corridor had dirty glasses on the floor that remained untouched for over 24 hours and our room (the Master Suite) was tired and inadequately maintained. On arrival, the power shorted, the toilet leaked (this was fixed) the coffee maker didn't work (this too was fixed - but by turning off the refrigerator) and the bed linen faded and poor quality. The breakfast courtyard was dirty and unswept and the windows generally needed a good clean. The overall feel was one of decline and neglect which is unforgiveable in any establishment but given the prices being charged it almost amounts to theft. Read my other reviews; you'll see I'm not given to unnecessary criticism nor over reaction to a single incident of  bad service. There's another lyric from the Pet Shop Boys song Shopping that goes "...our gain is your loss, that's the price you pay". This might just sum up the Rosas and Xocolate experience. P.S. I'm honestly not a big Pet Shop Boys fan.

Hotel Casa del Balam, which translates to House of the Jaguar in Mayan, embodies the rich heritage and style of Merida. Established in 1970, it was one of the pioneering boutique hotels in the area. The hotel offers a classic charm with spacious air-conditioned rooms featuring bathtubs and two large beds. Guests can relax by the outdoor pool or enjoy massage therapy and sunbathing on the sundeck for an additional fee.
Love this hotel. Great location and service. Easy parking. Staff friendly and helpful , especially Sergio !
Dino P — Google review
The hotel could be charming, but it’s old and poorly maintained. It has a strong waxy smell (and you can’t open the windows) and a musty odor. The elevators are extremely outdated, and we didn’t feel safe using them. The first room we were given was dirty and very small for three people. They moved us to a different room for the next two nights, which was better, but still, it’s overpriced for what it offers. They had placed a duvet on the mattresses (perhaps to make them feel softer), but it only made us sweat more than anything else. Given the condition of the hotel, we didn’t feel comfortable using the pool. The only positives were its location and the friendly staff. However, in that area, there are many newer hotels available for the same price.

Great location walking distance to great places and amazing restaurants. Everyone was nice a polite. Common areas adorable. Rooms need a little update. Best shower ever great water pressure and hot water!!

Hotel has potential but is quite dated and needs maintenance and upgrades to justify the price. The pool area and two other nooks are pleasant. The staff are good and the restaurant is very good. Basically overpriced for what you get.
Don C — Google review
No wifi past the ground floor. The outlet for the fridge didn't work. Cleaning staff was excellent (Candy), hot water was hot, and funky elevators. But with El Gran Hotel and other places within the same price within the area, I don't plan to return.

This is a review/complaint about the clothing store at Casa Del Balam. Beware of the pricing. I purchased a blouse that I thought was marked $700 pesos but later found out I was charged $4000 pesos. When I went back to return the blouse and get a refund they told me I would have to go through my credit card company to challenge the charge. I have done this and the merchant keeps telling the credit card company that it is a legitimate charge and they will not credit my account. I made another trip to the store and spoke with a different employee who told me the blouse I purchased should only have been $1400 pesos, not $4000 that I was charged on the previous day. If you go there make sure you know what they are charging as none of the items are marked so they can claim whatever price they want.
Ann D — Google review
Outdated and bad service. First of all the communication and service is substandard. When we arrived at the hotel it turned out the pool was out of order. We weren't notified about this before checking in, there was nothing they could do about it. The day after when we wanted to leave the parking lot, there were roadworks going on making it impossible to leave. This also wasn't communicated with us! When asked about this there was nothing they could do for us. We just had to figure it out. You would expect a little more compassion and better service when faced with these problems. The lobby is very outdated and the bathroom is not clean. I would not recommend going to this hotel if you're looking for a hassle-free and accommodating stay.
Pieter — Google review
We stayed for 2 nights at this place. The ladies at the reception are super friendly and helpful! First night in room 110 was similar to staying in an outdated youth hostel: no natural light, mould in the bathroom, bad smell, not clean. The second night, we got another room, 407: more natural light, very poor breakfast (do you actually call this a breakfast?) same bad smell, no option to open a window, completely outdated bathroom (must not have updated since somewhere in the 80s) and by surprise we both got BED BUGGS. Doctor insisted to leave the hotel immediately. The owner of the hotel refused to pay back the money we paid for the 2 remaining nights. We contacted our travel agent and changed to the hotel in front where we paid similar price for so much more value. We were unable to meet other guests who were positive about their experience… one advise: do not consider to book a room here.

Beautiful and lovely retreat away from the city’s center. Concierge and staff were extremely helpful. Hotel was very quiet and peaceful, with many options to lounge throughout while not feeling the company of others. Breakfast included was incredibly tasty. Rooms were very generously appointed and aesthetically pleasing. Location leaves a bit to be desired, must uber everywhere. One of the truly better values we’ve had in a stay. Definitely recommend. Book directly through their website for best value.

I can’t say enough good things about this oasis in the city except when can I go back? I was contacted one week before my stay via WhatsApp to give me some very helpful arrival/check-in information. They also arranged for a masseuse to come to the hotel and were available for any questions I had. The location is a bit far from the center (20min walk), but I didn’t mind because I like exploring on foot and staying in a quiet area. After a hot morning traversing the city, it was amazing to come back to the rooftop pool and quiet ambiance away from the hustle and bustle of the zócalo (city center). I booked directly on their website and breakfast was included in my rate. The portions were very generous, the presentation was beautiful, and the food was excellent! The rooftop room with the private terrace was incredibly comfortable, clean, and quiet. It has excellent A/C and the decor was quirky yet inviting. Not only is it a beautiful property, but the staff – especially Michelle, Angel, and Perla – are outstanding! They were always available and took excellent care of me. You could tell they all enjoyed being there. I even left my retainer there and they kindly worked with me to send it back to the U.S.!

This beautiful hotel is definitely worth a visit!! The location is wonderful, so close to Centro without all the noise. We walked everywhere while we stayed here and it was so easy to get around. If you're not used to walking you can drive but parking around El Centro is difficult. Now back to the hotel upon arrival we were greeted by the most amazing scent. The hotel lobby, rooms, and communal areas are beautiful and tastefully decorated. The whole staff was amazing. We got to work with Michelle the most at the front desk, Perla was our server on multiple occasions, Frank was also super nice and helpful. The housekeeping team was also wonderful! Michelle was friendly and attentive she welcomed us with drinks and showed us to our rooms. Perla was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Frank recommended great cocktails for us and shared so much about delicious local liquors. The food at the restaurant was amazing! The presentation and flavor were on point. The kitchen has the cochinita pibil down to a science. It was by far the best cochinita I had in Merida. I loved our room it was so big and had high ceilings. I will absolutely be returning and can't wait!

Wonderful hotel for our honeymoon. Clean, centrally located, great service and ammenities. When a hurricane was expected, they helped us rebook for two nights at a larger hotel with a backup generator for our safety, and even gave us a credit toward meals at that hotel - very appreciated.

A piece of quiet in a perfect location, like a little oasis in the busy city. The customer focus was outstanding, from our waiter Mario at breakfast to the hotel staff who helped us tremendously to find the right restaurant for a romantic Christmas dinner. Our room was impeccable, perfectly clean, charming with a super comfortable bed.

We stayed Casa Lecanda at end of October and beginning of November. This is a beautiful, private and very lush Boutique hotel. The rooms are tastefully styled, the tiling that is in the bathroom is beautiful and the beds are very comfortable. Every night with turn down service we also got a delicious chocolate. The staff is magical. Each day and night they were so eager to help us. We woke up at 5 am to tour Bacalar and our tour got canceled. We went back and told the staff what happened and they gave us a splendid hot breakfast on the house (the omelet which I highly recommend- the sauce was so good we licked the bowl (our board was only for fruit, yogurt and bread which by the way was more than enough and delicious as well. I would definitely stay here again and hope to in the future as there are more Cenotes and more of Merida to discover

LOVELY spacious bedroom on ground floor, with private terrace overlooking garden and swimming pool. B'fast simple.. help yourself coffee and biscuits, perfect! Walkable distance to the centre, but also many little people-carrier mini buses. Staff were soo friendly, as was the owner family who lives there..I got AMAZING tips, from the young Uni student, (whose name I have sadly forgotten- he cleans the rooms), on STYLISH places to eat, one in the near vicinity, which was a fabulous French-run BIO Gastro outdoor terrace, with exquisite murals, and the other one, a top-terrace Bar, in the Centre! Very Chic and with great views!! THANK YOU! Makes ALL the difference to have some reliable stylish tips..

This is family owned B&B style hotel. The hotel has 6 rooms. My family and I unfortunately got the worst room in this hotel. All other 5 rooms face the small pretty garden. Our room is the only one that's located in the center of the building. Because of this, our room has very poor natural lightening and ventilation. If we don't keep the air conditioning on, we feel suffocated inside the room because we don't get fresh air from the window. The worst part about this room, is that the owners place a refrigerator right in front of the door, as you can see from the picture. As of the location, the hotel is about 30 minutes away walking from the downtown area of Merida. There is nothing nearby the hotel, no restaurant, no grocery. Thus, if you choose to stay in this hotel, you will just have to take taxi or walk half hour everyday to eat out. The hotel staffs are friendly enough but only few young male staffs speak ok English. Overall, the hotel is ok but I would definitely not recommend it.

This hotel was a lovely experience. It was a last-minute booking after a mix-up at our initial hotel, and we didn't know what to expect. We were really happy that we ended up here! The hotel is beautiful from top to bottom, and our room was particularly charming - nicely decorated and quite spacious with a private patio and plunge pool. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. We also loved the location, which is just around the corner from the Calle 47 "restaurant row." Parking is in a secure lot. I would highly recommend staying here.

We had an experience that we enjoyed with all five of our senses: the view of the architecture, the vegetation, the decorative details; the scent of the candles in the lobby; the delicious dishes in the restaurant; the cool water of the pool; and knowing the song of the suite we stayed in. Highly recommended. (Original) Muchas gracias!!! I have no complaints about the location; it's very close to the main attractions, and they have parking. It's worth mentioning that it's a bit far from the hotel, but you can get there in less than 5 minutes since it's just a few blocks away. I highly recommend it. Kuuk, which translates to "sprout" in Mayan, is a culinary gem nestled in a beautifully restored Spanish Colonial mansion along Paseo de Montejo. This chic restaurant offers an exquisite dining experience that marries modern techniques with traditional Yucatecan flavors. Under the creative guidance of award-winning Chef Pedro Evia, guests can indulge in innovative dishes like cochinita pibil and esquites, all prepared using a unique Pibinal oven that captures the essence of ancient cooking methods.
Absolutely outstanding!!!!!!! By far my favorite dining experience that I have had to date!!! Every single bite was a flavor explosion and a texture rainbow that touched every taste bud delicately and boldly all at the same time! Highly recommend! Everyone there was absolutely amazing and all contributed to an incredible experience! Thank you so much!

Unique food experiences at Kuuk. We loved it. Our favorite dish of all was the smoky shrimp over rice. the pumpkin appetizer is a must try. i wish we would have saved more room for a second dessert. we shared a light one with tofu & celery. imaginative and delicious. Good wine. Great cocktails. Excellent service. We loved it.

We dined at Kuuk 9/20/25. This is a big house that was converted into a restaurant. What used to be bedrooms have now been converted in dining areas and the room we were seated in accommodated 3 tables for dining. Pedro, our waiter, always seemed in a rush! We ordered pulpo and esquite as our starter. The pulpo was delicious and the esquite, I did not care for, the corn was not to my liking. Then 4 guests arrived and ordered the chef prefix which is a lot of small portions of food and drinks throughout the dining experience which if I remember correctly is $2100.00 per person. So, what happened once that table started ordering, all the attention and service was totally devoted to that table. That left us, a table of 2 and another table of 2 guests also dining in that one room. Service was “Horrible”! … “NO” Service for the other 2 tables of 2 guests! When we were done eating, I asked for a dessert menu. I started asking the waiter Pedro questions and then suddenly, tells me, look over the menu and think of what you might like and then Pedro took off to the table of 4 guest that ordered prefix. It was a very good while before Pedro came back and asked, ok, so what would you like for dessert. At that point I told him, “I don’t care to order dessert, I am ready for the check”. Then as the hostess came to our table with the terminal to tally us out, Pedro appears at our table stating it was our anniversary and here is a dessert on us. The timing was 100% off as Pedro was too busy catering to the table that ordered the Prefix. We were ready to leave much less have dessert at this point!!! The Hostess was very lovely, personable young girl who later showed us what used to be a private house. The bottom line to Kuuk is “I would NOT recommend this restaurant to any of my friends or anyone one in general!”

We had an amazing Bordeaux with our food thanks to the sommelier for making a great suggestion. The staff was very good even though there was a horribly rude Dutch family playing board games next to us and treating the staff poorly the staff was professional and always smiled. It was a great experience. Europeans, please don’t act rude to Mexicans!

Kuuk is the finest dining experience in Mérida. Exceptional quality, variety and execution. Great ambience and top service as well. Great wine list with a large selection of Mexican wines and solid representations from everywhere else in the world. Love coming here anytime I am in Merida.

Went to celebrate a birthday on Sunday for lunch 3pm. The menu is spectacular! We had robalo and shrimps. Delicious!! But, the Waiter was really not pleasant all the time and the restaurant was totally empty, we were the only table. The waiter seemed upset and in a rush. Food is good! Site is beautiful.
ADIL R — Google review
Of course we did the tasting menu and it did not disappoint. Not much that can be said that probably hasnt been said before. The service is great but it felt a bit impersonal compared to other restaurants of this stature. The food is bold and it's nice that they introduce you, or at least not let you forget that you're eating ingredients not found elsewhere. The physical place is gorgeous.
Youngmahn M — Google review
The service was outstanding. Traditional food with a modern touch, expensive for what was served. Everything needed a bit more attention, the lime soup was excellent once we requested and added some salt. The rooms were beautiful but the noise from the bar reverberates though-out making conversation difficult.

Nectar, a renowned restaurant in Merida, recently celebrated its 20th anniversary. It is known for offering an elevated dining experience and is credited with introducing the concept to the city. The restaurant's chef, Roberto Solis, emphasizes the importance of coexistence and interaction among people to achieve understanding and common ground. Nectar offers a fully elaborated menu called the New Yucatecan Cuisine, showcasing innovative Mayan-meets-modern fare.
It's a fairly small restaurant that feels pretty intimate. The lighting is just right to go on a date. Their local flavors and signature dishes are worth the visit even if you are a foodie with very high expectations. I'd recommend you try the black onion rings (tempura style fried onions seasoned with recado). I would also recommend the pork belly tacos. Their home made tortillas and black bread are delicious!
Tomas C — Google review
The food and its presentation was creative here and the flavours were very good. All 4 of us had different main course dishes. Short ribs were excellent, fish of the day was also excellent. The lamb burger was ordered well done, but it was still quite pink inside.... But the flavours were very good. My pasta dish with truffle oil was delicious, and just the right amount. The appetizers were okay, but we all felt the desserts were just excellent! My partner said it was the best dessert he'd ever had in Mérida. There was a very limited selection of red wines the evening we were there, and we're thinking there was a problem with the air conditioning because it was terribly hot and they had a fan running. It was a great dining experience overall.
Todd J — Google review
My boyfriend and I had an incredible time at Nectar. David was our waiter and he was more than fantastic. We both had the 7 course dinner. I had the lamb, and he had the quail. Both were delicious. Our favorite was the mamey sorbet desert. Perfect portions, atmosphere, and staff. Thank you Nectar for a beautiful date night!

Perfect experience from the minute we walked in! The only thing better than the food, was the service. Jorge was attentive and knowledgeable. He made the evening a great first experience for us. Had the 5 course tasting and was immediately impressed by all the flavors and textures.
Ray R — Google review
Nectar was a nice treat while visiting Merida. My group I enjoyed a very nice meal. Enjoyed the relaxed, friendly welcoming atmosphere the music was good too and not too loud. However, the location is a bit strange insofar as my view from the table was the parking lot and through out the meal I was somewhat blinded by the lights of cars that were parking right in front of the building. We chose the 7 course tasting meun which was good but perhaps needed more balance of the course offerings. The group favorite items were the pork belly taco and the grilled red snapper. The entre finale pork chop was over cooked a bit tough and dry and disappointing. The coconut dessert was nice and the yogurt dessert was interesting but seemed unnecessary and didn't pair well with the tasting menu. It would have been nice to have something light a fruity like a sorbet. The service was good but lower than expected as there were mistakes throughout. It seemed some of the service staff may have been in training, but not sure. In fact the last dish was served to everyone at the table but one person. The service staff came back and forth but it took awhile before they noticed the person did not have their dish. They brought as soon as they noticed but a restaurant rated highly as their you'd expect more stellar service. But all in all not a bad dining experience. But didn't quite meet my expectations. But by all means still worth trying...
Dexter S — Google review
Had the 7 course set menu but swapped out the pork chop for the picanha special, which was amazing. The final dessert was some weird garlic experimental thing that was disgusting but overall the course was really good.

Jesus, our server was outstanding. He was the highlight of the evening. Great job! However… The owner, Roberto Solis, came into the restaurant, shortly after my partner and I sat down - we were the only seated patrons at the time, right next to the kitchen. He spent time chatting with the kitchen staff, looked our way a number of times, but never so much as even smiled in our general direction. Yet, with each subsequent table (of locals) that came in, he greeted them, spent time talking to them, and even sat at one table for the vast majority of their meal. Us? We were never even acknowledged. I’m typically not paranoid nor a complainer but, we were clearly the only Americans in the restaurant and it felt like a deliberate snub. The vast majority of the food was delightful, but the pork chop was nearly inedible. It looked lovely and had a great flavor but it was 90% fat. There was so much left on the plate that the server asked my partner if he wanted a to-go box. Hard pass. Jesus, our server, was, as mentioned, wonderful - and the restaurant is beautiful. Being able to watch the kitchen while at work was akin to sitting at a chef’s table & very much enjoyable but… For the cost of the food, I expect it all to be exemplary - Not inedible. To note: I grew up in the restaurant business and I would’ve fired an employee if he behaved like the owner did - it was just a slap in the face. Won’t be back & won’t be recommending to others. Do better.

Their menu has some delightful gems! The star of our meal was a caramelized onion sheet! Wow. So fun to eat. Also we ordered a "venado almendrado" venison; AMAZING, unforgettable. The rest of the meal was good and the service of our waiter was impeccable.

The gnocchi and sauce were good, but to me drowned in cheese. They charged an extra $35 or $40 pesos for the bread, pushing the lunch cost over $300 pesos. The server seemed distracted most of the time, maybe because it was a slow time of day. Okay value for the money but not a 5-star experience.

You’ve got to try this place. We went there once to get some macaroons but we ended up eating there and then had to comeback the next day to order half the menu (That’s how good this was). This is one of those places that Anthony Bourdain would probably make a whole show of. Outstanding food, Compliments to the chef.

Enjoyed our visit to this very nice spot in the plaza. Tare, our waiter was very patient and informative with us. The food was very well presented and delicious. I have never tasted crickets, Tare was kind and set them aside from my main dish, so I could try them or not.
Yolanda V — Google review
The meal was beautifully presented and everything was quite delicious. The only thing I would say about the snapper fish dish I had was it was ever so slightly overcooked. But here in the Yucatan they tend to overcook shrimp and fish a little bit rather than undercook. I would rather that than undercooked. One of the colourful carrots on the plate was not edible at all because it was so hard I couldn't even cut it with a knife. But that really is the worst I can say about this meal. My partner's salad was absolutely delicious he said. It was a great place with great service and a beautiful spot at Santa Lucia park. The dessert was absolutely delicious and it included very lovely little edible flowers on top as you can see in the picture. I would definitely recommend dining here and we would go back again ourselves.

I am only 4 days into my 1 month stay here in Merida and I have already dined here 4 times (nice relaxing lunches and dinners). This is an excellent restaurant with a perfect selection of menu choices including foie gras. Wines by the glass options are available for food pairing and their cocktails are well crafted. And the best after dinner Carajillos I have had in the Yucatan (Tulum, Valladolid, and Merida) over the past 2 months. The staff have always been friendly, professional, and knowledgeable about the menu. And the Parque de Santa Lucía location is picturesque. Excellent in every way and highly recommended.

Food is ok. I came looking forward since reviews were excellent. However, I did not find the food so delicious, it is okay. I have eaten better tacos. Also, the waitress was very pushy asking us what else we wanted it while i just want to eat quietly. Apparently, you need to feel obligated to give at least 10% tip. However, I did not find that the service deserved it 😤 but she came to chase us to the door. Definitely a bad experience and I would not recommend coming back at all!!

I’m writing this as a local. This is my go to when I want old world elegance and tranquility. Mexican food, great waiters, and very fair prices. Willie, Octavio, Fabio all are wonderful, the food excellent, chilaquiles, ensalada, galletas but the other day I had a coffee and I don’t usually as I drink decaf but I had a high test coffee and OMG it was worth it. Probably the best coffee I’ve had in a very long time. Go here. It’s a small boutique hotel with a great restaurant on the main level and TBH I see mainly locals in the restaurant and that’s always a good sign.

Beautiful place to stay in Merida. The rooms are nice, clean and comfortable. The staff were helpful and gentle. The only concern about the hotel is located next to a bar, they play music out loud at night and the rooms are not noise proof. I couldn’t sleep two nights during the weekend.

Bigotry prejudice and discrimination by a single individual makes this an unfriendly place to stay. After three nights the best moment was leaving. Physically a charming boutique hotel, but I suggest readers find a friendlier place to stay.

Strange hotel in a beautiful 19 th century large palm filled house organised around central courtyard. The house parrots make disturbing screaming noise. Chef Wilson Alonzo collaborates with local cooks to revitalize traditional Mayan cuisine, guiding guests through the bustling market to select ingredients like xicama and zapote for dishes such as polcan.
Best meal we had in Merida. We waited for probably 15-20 mins in line before getting a table as this is the place to go! We got the cochinita pibil tacos , relleno negro tacos and cochinita pibil torta. They were all so flavourful and delicious. The pibil is so Smokey and sweet.

I came with a single mission to Parque Santiago. I needed my "fix" of Relleno Negro, a Yucatecan specialty. I was not disappointed. The flavor was spot on, the meatball was perfect and the broth was as black as the moonless night. Charred peppers never tasted so good.

Did I come here because of all the hype this place gets? Yes, but let me tell you it lives up to the hype. I ordered a Torta con lechón, it was fantastic! They bake their own bread, wood-fired just like the lechón so it's fresh and tasty and it's perfect with the pork. I also got a Cochinita Pibil Panucho and a Salbute de relleno negro. Both were amazing as well, however relleno negro was my favorite, it's such an unexpected taste, it's just great. Come to La Lupita, you won't be disappointed, it's worth the trip and the wait.

They made vegan tacos upon request but since it’s a very traditional spot, all the rest of the dishes were meat + cheese heavy. Not many options for a vegan. Other than that, super authentic though.

Most unique and original experience for local fast food. The best option is to arrive early as it opens at 8 am but demand is so high you may not find all of their variety of dishes by 10 am. You may need to wait no longer than 15 minutes in the line as it is big but it's demand is over their available tables. Totally worth it!

It’s incredibly popular and if you don’t come first thing in the morning they may have sold out on some of the more popular items on the menu! Some of juiciest and most succulent meat I have had was here at Taqueria La Lupita - delicious food with generous servings of meat. For how busy it was, being realistic, I was happy with the level and friendliness of the service and the speed at which I was looked after.

For the love of god. If you sell pasta, please know what al dente is. There is nothing simpler than putting a timer and taking out the pasta at the right moment and nothing worse than carelessly leaving the pasta too long so that it resembles a soup more than a pasta. The sauce was also watery and with bland taste. To be fair we had previously had a good pasta here, but this one was no more than a 4.3. Came here for some bites with my buddies. The food was wonderful their deserts were great. But due to the seasons, me and my friends all left with many mosquito stings, store manager mention they are doing something about it. Hopefully, they sort it out as the food were really good. AMEX accepted 🤣

A nice italian restaurant near the City center. It has a beautiful backyard, where you can take a seat and escape from the noise of the city. They have lot of pasta options from you can choose from. We really enjoyed our meal and time there. Worth the visit!

Sempere is a unique cafe and book library that offers a tranquil and relaxing atmosphere. It serves exceptional coffee, including flat white and cortado, as well as delicious food items like avocado toast, fruit bowls, and freshly squeezed orange juice. The cafe also provides a great breakfast experience with helpful staff who speak English. With its quiet space, good wifi, and great coffee, Sempere is an ideal place to relax or work for hours.
This place is truly a hidden gem! Nestled on the second floor and tucked inside a bookstore, it offers a unique and cozy atmosphere. The latte was excellent, and my sandwich was perfectly crafted with an abundance of fresh vegetables!
Shane L — Google review
For me, the best flat white and the best cortado in town! Just the right flavor and an intense but not bitter or sour taste, milk alternatives are also available (oat milk). Totally recommend it! The nice add-on is the selection of board games that can be played for free while enjoying a coffee and a pastry.

One of the best cafe here. Nice location, lots of books (there are not a lot of cafes that are book themed in Merida as far as I know), reasonable price, and good jugo del dia. Def will come back

Found this cafe on Google Maps when we had to kill time before checking into a room and it couldn't have been better - delicious coffee, air conditioning, and wifi. We had a flat white and cappuccino frio and both were very good!

Love this place! Excellent coffee and very friendly staff and owners. The avocado toast is perfect. The owners let me borrow their one copy of The Catcher in the Rye for my trip to Tulum. Now we all know people never return borrowed books! Because of their kindness, I most certainly will return it at the end of the month and visit wherever I’m in Mérida!

What a gem 💎 of a place. Such nice people and staff and so inviting. The food quality is tops. The atmosphere is so relaxing and inviting. We could easily spend an afternoon just enjoying great food and books to read from their accumulated library. Our complete to this establishment as it all comes together for a wonderful and appetizing experience.😋

Fabulous oasis in centro district. They have books for sale as well as plenty of room for a meeting, coffee date, or to study/work. Their coffee is delicious and their food is fresh and yummy. Good spot for a sandwich + salad.

I have visited here on several occasions and have always enjoyed each visit. A nice, quiet and relaxed atmosphere to enjoy great breakfast items and a wide selection of hot and cold coffees, teas, etc. The amazing yogurt parfait, fresh fruit and yogurt, is my favorite along with their delicious variety of cookies. Waffles are highly enjoyable as well. Highly recommended...

Visitors can explore the collection of designer boutiques, perfumeries, and art galleries showcasing Mexican talent. This multi-concept space highlights Mexico's creative scene and is housed in an architectural monument.
Everything about this place is divine! The building space is beautiful, the shops are excellent, and the food and cocktails are delight. The whole space shows thoughtful presentation and design. For me, shopping here is a bit over budget but I recognize quality when I see it. I purchased something a little small as a treat. I also enjoyed a light lunch that was delicious and reasonably priced. For those without the funds, looking is still wonderful. It’s like an art gallery.have a cocktail in the courtyard and soak in a bit of luxury. It’s worth it.

A pleasant spot with good food, desserts, and drinks. It’s slightly pricier than others nearby, but the experience and service are worth it. Great for brunch, a date, or a quiet coffee. Shops and galleries with creative designs are also there.

Lovely place I love to have breakfast when I’m in Merida. I always thought their avocado toast is the best in town but I have to say that recently, I felt it went a bit downhill, probably for the low quality bread they use. The waitress are really nice. The place remains a good place to spend some time and to work from a computer. Expensive for what it delivers. The quality is average!

Well, Mérida is definitely hot and humid — but at Casa Tho, it was a nightmare. We went this morning for breakfast, and while the place itself is beautiful, the experience was very disappointing. We asked them to turn on the fans, but they said there was no electricity — quite odd for such a nice establishment. Service was terrible and breakfast was just okay. It took over an hour for our food to come out of the kitchen, and another 20 minutes just to get the check. Overall, I do not recommend this place. Beautiful setting, but the service and organization were unacceptable.
Alejandro Z — Google review
We've had two lunches here, and we've loved both. The first day we had the avocado an salmon toasts. The next day, I had the tuna tartare and my wife had the spicy ca rrot soup. Everything was excellent. It has a lovely quiet atmosphere, similar to old Singapore (the weather is so similar). The margarita was probably one of the best I've ever had.

You must stop by this place for a divine meal and artisanal shopping. We had some cute cocktails and bites including the arancini and the sandwich made with bacon , grilled pineapple, Gruyère. The stores include an art gallery a carla Fernandez store with amazing clothes and a number of other boutiques including a jewelry spot and some home furnishings

Hotel
Hacienda Xcanatun, part of the Angsana Heritage Collection, is a luxurious 18th-century hacienda transformed into an upscale hotel in Mexico. The property features a stunning outdoor pool and a top-notch spa offering rejuvenating treatments inspired by ancient Mayan practices. Guests can indulge in delectable French-Caribbean cuisine with Yucatan influences at the Casa de Piedra restaurant while enjoying the charming veranda setting.
We were warmly greeted and accommodated. Our room was charming and felt like home. The property is well maintained and gorgeous! From the seashell filled tiles to the hidden air conditioned registers this structure was beautifully architected. The staff are exemplary and above standard in my opinion regarding the hospitality industry.

This is my second time staying at this hotel and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff are very customer focused, and provided amazing service. The new pool is really well designed and I very much appreciated there was an adults only pool that would provide a more peaceful environment. Highlight at the end was the staff was quick to check our room to see if we forgot anything when checking out, and I did manage to leave my charger. Those little things make a huge difference to your vacation.
Patrick G — Google review
Had the best time staying here. Hotel staff was wonderful and we really enjoyed the place. We only had 2 small issues 1. the advertise 3 pools, in reality only the big new pool can be used to swim as the other two are a bit unkept and lots of debris, dead bugs etc floating around but quite nice if you want to be by the pool but not in the pool. 2. the second thing is the fact that we didn’t know construction was going on. They’re building lots of apartments in the property (90+) right by the main pool, which kinda was a bummer, really takes away from the boutique hotel experience we wanted, nevertheless the real issue is the noise! Obviously construction work is loud so when only one pool is nice and clean to swim in, and the environment is loud, well, it wasn’t ideal. The room was lovely, the staff amazing and caring. Location for us was perfect as we wanted something between beach and city so it was ideal, but you’ll either need a car or Uber a lot. Definitely loved our stay. Sad to know it won’t be a boutique hotel anymore tho.

I really enjoyed my stay at Hacienda Xcanatun. It is lovely and lush with greenery. The room was comfortable and large with an outdoor patio. Breakfast and dinner were all very tasty and room service was the same quality. The gym on site is great with a sizable amount of equipment and in a beautiful setting. The pool is also lovely although it is currently surrounded by local outside of the hotel unfortunately. There are a ton of rooms and there is not much like it in the area if you need a larger number of spots together for a group like we did. The downside is the area surrounding it does not have anything and it is a good 20 min ride into Merida to get to other restaurants etc. If you are looking for a place for a group or a spot for some R&R, it's great.
Joanie A — Google review
First time staying here. Two adults and a 15mo toddler. We had a wonderful stay! The property is ~25 mins away from the Airport, Downtown Mérida, and Progresso beach - so plan to Uber, drive, or have transportation. We drove and it was easy and free parking. If you’re walking impaired make sure and state so when reserving - there are a lot of steps in certain areas. Service - 10/10 Could not be better. Everyone amazing to our family from the moment we arrived till we drove away. It was an absolute pleasure & they did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable. Even left surprise birthday cake for me ❤️ Hotel - 9.7/10 Amazing property. Felt like being in a jungle. We had a suite and it was quite large. Some construction at back of property but it was minimal. Had daily activities. Pool was great. Loved it! Restaurant- 6/10 😔 hurts me to say but we did not have best food experience at the restaurant. Staff was amazing and attentive, no issues at all with them. But food quality and taste was just not what I come to expect from Mexico. Wasn’t bad, just wasn’t necessarily great. We ate there three times and each had an element that was a bit below average (pork belly too much fat, octopus tostada not very good). The good is that the vegetables, bread, tortillas, butter and jams were some of the best we’ve ever had!! Plus they had a vegetarian menu for my wife which was very helpful Overall we’d absolutely return here and had an excellent stay. I think if they could just get the restaurant food a bit better, it’d make this place even better! Thank you to the staff for hosting us and taking such good care of us 🙏🏾🙏🏾

This resort should be removed from the luxury list. This is not a luxury resort. This is not even a resort. It is a mediocre hotel. The food was it fresh. The fruit was at least a day or two old when we got it. Customer service was horrific. We waited 60 minutes for eggs and French toast. We finally got up and left, and they still made us pay for it. We had one stand for a two person room when we asked the front desk about why we couldn’t get another stand on the other side. They said that that was how the room came . So we used our suitcase as our other nightstand see in photos . The light in the closet kept falling off. I actually asked him to fix it several times, that never happened. I was trying to fix it myself because we could not close the sliding closet door with the broken lights that kept falling . The coffee area the tray kept falling off. It was broken. There is NO smart TV, false advertisement! This was the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel. The outside property itself was nice. The chef for the restaurant should be fired, and the staff should be trained not to say yes when they don’t understand.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Merida, Wyndham Merida offers an elegant escape with its upscale rooms and suites. Guests can indulge in a delightful dining experience at the on-site restaurant or unwind at the spa and outdoor pool. The hotel is conveniently located near the new convention center, making it an ideal choice for both leisure and business travelers. Visitors rave about the exceptional service provided by a friendly staff who greet everyone warmly throughout their stay.
This review is from my experience as an American who booked this hotel through hotels.com and stayed 5 nights. Pros: We had great wifi our entire stay. Water was hot, and there’s a switch you have to push to turn the water heater on. Room was clean upon arriving. Bed was very comfortable. The room included a working safe to store valuables. Thermostat was great and we could control our temperature in our room well. The hotel is in a really nice location. It’s right next to the historic downtown but not directly in it. This is great because it means you can actually get sleep (the main historic area can get a little loud at night near the bars). The pool and courtyard are beautiful. They have a spa, knock-off Starbucks, and restaurant in the hotel. The hotel has modern rooms while the front entrance is a repurposed historic mansion! Very neat. Cons: Tipping culture in Merida is big and it carries over into the hotel. At times it feels the staff are only nice to get tips. Expect to tip for daily room cleaning and when they first show you around your room. There was a slight sewer odor in the courtyard area. Not sure where it was coming from. Not all rooms are created equal. Some face the courtyard while others face the backside of walls. All in all, this was a very enjoyable stay. The cons are very small (to me) and if I visit Merida again I will definitely stay here.

Close to paseo de Montejo. Staff was super helpful. A small fridge and a microwave in the room wouldnt hurt. We had one/two small issues with safe ... don't use it.

I wasnˋt accommodated in the hotel just visited the cafeteria; considering these days the temperature in Merida has been above 40°C, I expected the place to be cool but not, the a.c. was not working properly. Second complaint: I ordered an american coffee TO STAY and the waitress brought it in a disposable cup! despite the hotel having its own restaurant.

The staff was amazing at the Wyndham Merida. Everyone from the front desk, restaurant service, housekeeping, bellmen, concierge, and management greeted me and my family with a smile and buenos dias every time they saw us out and about. The room was a little small, but the service way over compensated for the small time we were in our rooms. Thank-You for a terrific stay!

I feel like the rooms could've been slightly cleaner (there was a used water bottle and a lot of stray hairs in my room) but overall decent stay for the money. Staff was super polite and nice the Starbucks was appreciated for the days I just needed to grab something quick before being out all day
Damilola K — Google review
Place is pretty average and is in desperate need of being upgraded/refurbished. Pool is very small and not upkept. Front office staff was nice but not much help; they told us that the nearest place to get something to eat was in downtown (we later found a number of places in the area with delicious one named "Platos Rotos" [Broken Dishes] about 3 blocks away). Not sure if I'd return to this place when there's much nicer places in the downtown area.
Juan B — Google review
First time at this hotel. I usually stay at fiesta americana but it was all booked for to a convention and it was also due to the carnival. Main entrance looks ok. Lobby is small and unimpressive. Staff was ok. Rooms were clean. Bed was comfortable. No tissue box though. I was given a room in the 4th floor. Next day. Elevator broke. Also that night, there was no water at all. We had to go to another hotel to shower. We had no water for almost 24 hours! Elevator was not fixed even when I left after 6 days. Every time, I pass by the lobby counter, I see the staff sitting. The problem with that is that the counter seems to be too high. So if they sit, it looks like there is nobody at the counter. In my opinion, this does not look good when someone is entering the hotel. Parking lot is small too. Most of the time, we had to park in the street.

Piedra de Agua Hotel Boutique is a stylish accommodation with a restaurant, bar, outdoor pool, and spa. Its perfect location allows guests to easily explore the city's main square and must-see attractions such as La Casa de Montejo and San Ildefonso Cathedral. The hotel's staff goes above and beyond to provide exceptional service, ensuring that guests feel welcomed and attended to.
Special note: Some of the bathrooms have a high step up with potential for falling at night if you forget the step is there. Be careful . Don’t get me wrong. This is a lovely hotel. Hard, uncomfortable hotel bed mattresses are a problem in Mexico. The hotels buy hard mattresses because they last longer so it is always a challenge to find a hotel with comfortable beds. A hard bed is like sleeping on concrete. The beds here are leaning toward the hard side and it may be an issue for you. I'd define them as "very firm", but, I was still able to sleep. Consider sleep shades as light from halls may come into the room if they forget to turn off the lights at 11:00 pm

I recently stayed at this hotel, and it was an absolute disappointment. The cleanliness was appalling. Upon entering the bathroom, I found insects crawling around the toilet and spider webs in the corners. The room had a strange, musty smell. To make matters worse, there were noticeable holes and cracks in the walls. The noise from outside kept me up all night, and the overall lack of care for basic hygiene and maintenance was shocking. Definitely not what I expected from a 5star hotel. I would not recommend staying here.

Hostal La Ermita is a well-located accommodation in Merida, close to the main square, cathedral, and bus station, making it convenient for exploring the city center. Guests have praised its cleanliness and user experience. The hotel offers a pool to cool off from the heat and provides a complimentary breakfast buffet. It also offers lockers and storage facilities for guests' convenience. Despite being a hostel, private rooms are quiet and comfortable for a good night's sleep.
Friendly staff, clean rooms, decent breakfast, walkable distance to the center area/ado station

La Ermita is one of the most quaint locations in Mérida. It's located in a historic corner where most of the locals live. We visited the churches and found that manifestation happens quickly in the area. You'll be guided by spirits and forces of nature and receive guidance along your journey if you allow your self to explore. Beware, there's pockets of energy traps that consume your vitality and you'll sense it right away, so pack you mosquito repellent. The beds are cozy and most locals stay here at a fare rate, breakfast is plentiful! Which was the best part of a shared room, the beds were not something to consider at the rate, nor the conditions of the guests but it is a space for renewal landing and grace if you allow your self to explore a humble version of Merida religious faithful community so be reverent.

Good location... not too far from city center and very close to the ADO station which I valued a lot. The hotel is very clean, the pool welcome under a scorching heat. The breakfast buffet albeit similar to every hostal in quality was free-refill. A great plus for big eaters like myself. The staff kept my bag for a full day in the reception as well which is cool. AC comes at an extra cost which should be mandatory as its really too hot. Decently sized lockers. Curtains on the beds for privacy would be welcome Only minus: you have to get there before 23:00 (to be considered if you come by late night bus from Valladolid- although there is a 1h time difference.)

From Bad to WORSE. The shower was not in service. Had to walk out to another outside shower. Woke up @ 7am to shower and found out it was closed until 8am. Breakfast is bad. Toast and cornflakes. Beds are awful. You can feel every spring in them... thank goodness for AC working properly... you would not want to go in the pool...

We really enjoyed our time here. We had the private room and although it's a hostel, it was quiet at night. So we slept well. The room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was free and although basic, we found it very nice. You get fruits, toast, yoghurt, juice, coffee and tea. Fine! It's a little walk to the city center but that wasn't a problem for us🚶 The staff speaks English and was very helpful and friendly. ✅ We recommend this hostel for sure!

Sadly we didn't have a great experience here. We booked a 6 bed AC dorm for 3 nights but never actually slept in the room. The first night there was a very bad smell and a man snoring loudly at 6pm onwards. The 2nd night a smell of cigarettes and the same man. The next morning all 5 people asked to move or for the man to be moved. Weirdly they moved everyone but him. The room also never went dark because of the outside lights. The bathroom wasn't clean. This hostel is far from town, we often used Uber. The staff did try to resolve our problems but with varying success. The breakfast was very nice and free! We wouldn't stay again.

Hotel Catedral Merida is an informal lodging option near the Plaza Grande. They offer a continental breakfast, parking facilities, and Wi-Fi access. The hostel impresses guests with its exceptional cleanliness, surpassing even many hotels in this regard. The staff members are friendly, courteous, and always ready to assist. While some may be concerned about the open front door policy without any wristbands for identification, there is constant reception presence and secure lockers for personal belongings to ensure safety.
Was a excellent hostal. I use to travel alone and is quiet, safe and very clean plus a view of the Carhedral that is really behind! Can’t be better located. Not have any luxury or detail but is just quality and price together.

Perfect location. Room was ok, but sometimes the tap water was coming out green and really bad smelling. One morning there was no water from the tap. The stuff was friendly, the only thing is that they have an agreement with a local parking that is not 24h and even if initially they told us we could use another parking with a voucher provided by them too, then they changed their mind and we had to pay the parking by our own.
Fabio R — Google review
Spotlessly clean, I can honestly say I have never been to such a clean hostel, it is cleaner than many hotels I have been to. The staff are really nice, polite and helpful. One thing that may be a slight concern to some people is the fact that it seems anyone could walk in off the street as the front door is always open and the hostel do not ask you to wear wrist bands or anything, that being said the reception is constantly manned and the hostel provides large lockers for personal belongings and I felt safe at all times here. Excellent toilets/showers, hot water, good kitchen and breakfast provided for free (melon, sandwiches, cereal, eggs, coffee, juice). I would be more than happy to stay here again.
Helen W — Google review
The best thing next to the absolute central location, was the spacious bathroom with big shower cabins. The rest did not appear as expected. Small room with very shaky bulk beds and lots of noice starting in the kitchen already by 5am. The breakfast was freshly made which was good but most of the dishes were not clean at all. This is not really a place for travelers, lots of people stay there because they're working in Merida etc.
Tobias W — Google review
Good central location, very clean and quite cheap. The bathrooms are a good size although water pressure is pretty poor. The free breakfast great and includes hot food items, not just the usual fruit and yogurt. Each room has it's own wifi, the wifi network for our room was terrible and unfortunately the reception wifi barely reached the room. The rooms were also quite small and don't have windows or anything so there is no ventilation or fresh air which is what I disliked most. The AC is only turned on at 8pm at night so the rooms ate very uncomfortable during the day

Great hostel. unbelievable how cheap this place is considering the location and the free breakfast. They even gave us a free glass of cold fresh watermelon juice when we arrived which was amazing. Friendly staff who also speak English which is great for gringos like me. Highly recommend this place.

Very good hostel! The location is the best, the rooms are nice and clean, with lockers, there is a large common area with a table, a good kitchen and the bathrooms were also very clean. The staff was helpful and nice. Also, the breakfast is amazing!

Good place to stay in Merida. Located just next to the cathedral. It gives you the opportunity to see downtown without worrying about getting back to your hostel. The rooms are ok. Aircon during the night and two ceiling fans. The beds are comfortable enough, and have a plug next to them. All the rooms surround the common area ( breakfast area), and that could be noisy in the morning, especially the bunk beds next to the windows. There is a kitchenette, and free drinking water. The bathrooms are massive, and the showers have free soap. There is pop music always playing during the day, but at a moderate volume. It starts at 8ish and is off at 10ish. You are received with a cold drink by the manager of the hostel. The breakfast is good, buffet style. The internet was not the best.

The Casa Garza Hostal is a welcoming and clean hostel in Merida with comfortable rooms. It's located close to the main square, and the staff are friendly and helpful. There's a garden and terrace available for guests, as well as a pool.
A really great hostel, located just a short walk from the city centre. From check in to check out, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Once a week, they arrange a cooking class, a quiz and a Spanish lesson for visitors. The dorms were reasonably priced and the bunk beds had curtains for privacy. The bathroom, common areas and dormitories were all very clean. The pools and hammocks are also a great addition, allowing you to escape the worst of the midday Mérida heat. Lastly, the free breakfast was great. The menu is changed every day and there are plenty of different options available (granola, cereal, pastries, fruit, bread, etc). There is also free coffee. I honestly cannot recommend this hostel enough.

From the moment you step into Casa Garza Hostel, you are pulled into a welcoming and authentic Yucatán atmosphere. This beautifully restored traditional house offers a truly outstanding experience that goes above and beyond typical hostel. The entire hostel, from the comfortable dorm rooms and private suites to the common areas and bathrooms, is consistently clean. You can truly relax and feel at home in this well-maintained environment. The staff at Casa Garza give exceptional service. They are friendly, helpful, and attentive, always ready to assist with any questions or needs, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable stay for every guest. Casa Garza has easy access to the city's main attractions, including the Main Square, Cathedral, and various restaurants and shops. It's also conveniently located near the bus station, making travel a breeze. The complimentary breakfast, which often includes fresh fruit, yogurt, and a daily warm dish which changes everyday is amazing and I often still think about it! Loved this hostel and recommend it to everyone we talk too going to Merida!

Wow! We loved our stay at Casa Garza. The staff are absolutely lovely- they go out of their way to make you feel welcomed. They start by giving you lots of suggestions and you never feel rushed asking questions or soaking in the information. They are very attentive. On top this, the hostel is beautiful we stayed in a private dorm that was clean and nicely decorated. There is a cute turtle that lives outside and a nice pool area. Another highlight was the breakfast. It changes each day and it is an all you can eat buffet and super fresh. Thank you very much. From Emilio and Maddie

Really amazing hostel -- it's like stepping into a different world from the streets of downtown Merida. The interior is so well decorated and maintained and has basically anything you need -- a pool, hammocks, many seating areas, a kitchen, and a public TV area. Also, they have a turtle! The hosts know some English. They have recommendations for food and other services. My room was super beautiful with stone accented background and good lighting, the whole place was clean and comfortable. I found out that there is a door to a massive private patio overlooking the city! (Shared with the adjacent room, but private from all the other rooms). The lighting is so beautiful. The showers were not hot when I was using them, which is common in the Yucatan peninsula.

This was a breath of fresh air. The front desk person was incredibly helpful, and the staff in general were wonderful! It was an interesting place to stay, with a mix of folks sharing bunkbeds and looking for more privacy. The facilities are cute and nicely decorated. The breakfast was great and filling! They had a solid enough variety to compensate for the lack of an egg dish. I'll take quesadillas and beans any day! Though it was a bit challenging to get up to our room on the second floor, the front desk person, Aaron, helped with our bags. We also loved the balcony, though we didn't use it as much as we would have liked. It's also a 5-10 minute walk to the downtown area, which was perfect for us since we also don't mind walking a bit. Overall, we loved this place and would be open to staying here again. Getting to our room was a bit of a hazardous trek, especially on a rainy day. The ladder that leads to the second floor is a bit wobbly, and you're not entirely sure it can support your weight. The bathrooms in the common space were out of commission and clogged up. Not sure what that was about, but my understanding was that they were working on the plumbing. I also remember the mattress being harder than the average hotel. Not sure what that's about. My wife also mentioned that the room was not as clean as she would have liked. She found long hair on the walls and on the floor. Overall, though, we had a pleasant experience and would 100% stay here again.

Enjoyed staying here! The staff were lovely, really appreciated the free breakfast (and that soy milk was on offer!), excellent location close to the main plaza, and the dorm rooms were quiet and dark to sleep in. Loved the hostel pet tortoise! Did find the mattresses quite hard, and the lockers are drawers that don’t fit a lot so everyone’s bags were all over the floor (ironically blocking the drawers) and it felt quite cramped.
Emily — Google review
This was a really nice hostel. The rooms are spacious with ac and a very nice ensuite bathroom. There's tons of outdoor space and the included breakfast was pretty good. The only issue I had was that it's not the best place to be when it's raining, you often have to pass through outdoor space to get to different areas of the hostel.

Hotel MedioMundo is a long-standing, family-run boutique hotel located in Merida Centro. It offers colorful rooms in a relaxed, colonial-style building with amenities such as an outdoor pool and a vegan restaurant. The hotel provides a stylish retreat for travelers seeking relaxation on a mid-range budget. Situated on a quiet street just blocks away from the city's downtown core, it features comfortable and clean rooms with high ceilings and Mexican hacienda style.
My wife and I stayed here for two weeks, as the local coronavirus epidemic was just starting. I can't say enough good about the kindness, graciousness, and hard work of the owners and staff. It's a beautiful small hotel in a very walkable neighborhood, and they are taking the pandemic very seriously. The excellent small vegan restaurant in their courtyard has remained open for takeout and delivery with reduced hours, which has given me the chance to visit the hotel many times over the past few months, and to watch and discuss as they have prepared to reopen. They are committed to the health and well-being of both staff and guests, and I recommend them without hesitation.

This is our favorite hotel in Merida. We have stayed here more than 5 times. The owners and staff treat us like family. Their restaurant serves some of the best vegan food we've ever had with a different menu every night. The rooms are spacious and clean. The perfect place to come home to in the evening.

Great small family run hotel. Owners and staff friendly and helpful. The location is convenient and quiet. The restaurant is vegan and serve a great breakfast with excellent coffee. The evening meal, also vegan, has a different international offering each evening. The service is friendly and atmosphere casual. We will definitely return. J&S

The most perfect place to stay in Mérida. Affordable, beautiful, impeccably kept, historical colonial architecture, clean, quiet: an oasis in the city. The owner is the kindest and most helpful host we've met in all our travels. He speaks multiple languages well, and has a lifetime of experience in the hospitality industry. We have visited twice so far and are eager to return.

I absolutely loved my 7 day stay at Mediomundo. Why? Because it was quiet, cool stone rooms, big dressing room and place to hang your clothes and shelves to organize items. The bed was comfortable and it had air con which I barely used and fresh cool water from the water dispenser. The pool we as lovely and I went there every afternoon. Nelson was a genuine person who was very interesting to chat with and had a big heart. The rooms were very nice with super high ceilings and Mexican hacienda style. I liked this place because it was very private in a quiet neighborhood and surrounded by restaurants, tiendas, Y plazas with live music and a place you do not need a car. I will recommend everyone to stay here and I didn't want to leave. Muchos Gracias and hope to see you around town!

Great place to stay if you don’t mind noise from a fountain or cars, constant light from the corridor, lack of basic cleaning service or mosquitos. Positive aspects: - you can meet new people partying next to your room at midnight, - could be waken up by loud singing and meditating persons, - if the noise, light and mosquitoes don’t make you leave, you are ready for anything, - at least you are not sleeping on the street Negative aspects: - swimming pool rash - sheets not cleaned, - the owner’s attitude- promise service but has a great excuse not to deliver any because of virus. Maybe better to close the business then. It was a quite experience. Even the most remote places in the World that I have stayed in had better service.

Comfortable clean private economical in safe quiet location relatively close to old center and community parks. Highly recommend for English speaking seniors who seek relaxation. Strictly vegan meals that are delicious and original, with middle eastern garnishes and spreads. Excellent staff in Spanish and English with helpful ideas of things to see and enjoy. Comfortable patios and peaceful.

Probably would have been a good place to stay but after I contacted the house to make a reservation and the person in charge confirmed my reservation. When the day arrived and I checked if everything is ok to check in, they simply told me it's full and they cannot accommodate me. What kind of business is that? 😃🤙🏼

i was here for a couple of days. they have private rooms and dorms. the dorms was a small four bunk bedroom. The facilities were basic. This place is close to the bus station but a 20 min walk to the center plaza. The caretaker lady was very welcoming. She do not speak english but will use google translate to communicate. The kitchen is well equipped. The toilets could have been better and a locker to keep the bags missing too.

You get what you pay for. Good enough and in a good location. Cons: Mosquitoes in our bedroom, family of cats living in the kitchen, water worked intermittently, flooding when it rained and our toilet did not flush. Pros: Location, 24 hour access, good wifi, the manager is extremely helpful and offered us new sheets mid stay. Worked for us but come with low expectations.
Tynan S — Google review
This is not a hostel! Just a room with 4 beds and a broken toilet. Plus a stoned owner, who keeps turning off the running water on his guests.
Johanna E — Google review
Good location, cheap, very, very small. The shower in room 5 didn't work very well at all, the water doesn't come out the nozzle properly. The owner charges more to extend your stay than the price on Hostelworld. He also doesn't issue receipts or make a written record when you make a payment in cash so I ended up paying for my extension twice because the owner couldn't remember me paying. I recommend the owner keeps a written record and issue receipts when payments are made in cash.

Its a little rough around the edges so won't suit all tastes (peeling paint, antique feel to the place) but perfect for a couple on a budget! Kitchen had everything you needed to cook but was smelly/felt a bit unsanitary and there were 3 very friendly dogs which we didn't mind but some people might.
Verity T — Google review
We booked 2 nights with booking.com, and messaged before we arrived. The owner reacted that everything was okay, and that they where happy to receive us. But when we arrived there, they told us that there was only place for one of us, in a shared room. Even though they new about our booking, and that we booked a whole room for ourselves. So the owner walked us to a hotel that was more expensive, a few minutes further in the street. And invited us for a free breakfast in the morning in the hostel. So the next morning we went there, and after waiting for an hour, we got our breakfast with the words that we would get a discount for the breakfast. Because apparently he expected us to pay for the breakfast, because we didn't stay at his place and his invention was according to his words "symbolic", and the price he asked was 50 pesos. So after that we left the place without haven taken a bite of the small breakfast.

Love this place. It is on a side street and doesn't look like much from the outside. However inside is a beautiful terrace area with trees all around. It is a small place but very very nice. The room was super clean. Breakfast was included and was very good as well. They did our laundry for a very reasonable fee. Also my woman had a deep tissue massage and said it was the best she ever had.

Nice smaller hotel. Great owner, comfy beds location decent and quiet. Breakfast was pretty good. Could hear noise from the room next door a little throughthroom, but not a big deal.

Nicey located close to downtown Merida. This hotel is a historic house that is in the process of being remodeled (June 2017). At the moment it seems there is only one room available. It looks like the owner lives on the back and they rent 3 rooms on the front of the property, though it seems they are in the process of expanding. The service was nice, the bed was comfy and the location was good. Nice breakfast prepared to order by the owner and wifi was available. Would only accept cash payment, no credit card. Parking was on the same street.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Merida, Guaya Hostel is a colorful adults-only retreat that perfectly blends modern and traditional design. Guests can unwind in the communal lounge or take a refreshing dip in the outdoor swimming pool after exploring nearby attractions like Plaza Grande and Paseo de Montejo. The property features comfortable accommodations equipped with wardrobes, while complimentary breakfast options fuel your adventures each morning.
We stayed in the private room on the second floor, which has 2 beds and its own private bathroom. Room was clean, shower had ear water and we had no issues at all. Complimentary breakfast’s included for everyone, with waffles, eggs and fruit. Santiago is very serviceable and knowledgeable of Merida and can give great tips on where to go or how to plan your days there. Location is excellent, as it’s just a 10 min walk from the cathedral and centro histórico. Also, it’s right around the corner of the bus station, which you can take to different destinations around the peninsula (if you’re planning to visit multiple places).

Conveniently located near the central ADO bus station, this chill family owned and operated hostel was shockingly quiet and cozy. The owners are incredibly caring and kind. The male owner, Santiago has many recommendations for what you will love to do in Merida and he will explain them while he makes your breakfast; and his wife, Sarah will make you laugh, get you checked in, show you around, and make you feel at home and part of the family within moments of your arrival. Even the dog, Coco, will fall asleep on your lap like you belong there beneath him. Welcome home! Here you will be. I went there planning to stay 1 night, and I very comfortably stayed 5.

The room was not clean. There was a strong fish smell. Same for the bathrooms and shower. We didn’t receive clean sheets. The owner is really not kind. The day after we slept, we couldn’t even wait 30 minutes there before taking our bus. The landlord told us we had to pay a day pass for the 30 minutes. I strongly do not recommend.
Miguel C — Google review
I stayed here as a work away volunteer for a month let me just say Santiago the owner is the rudest and most unprofessional business owner I have ever met. The place it's self was nice (although I did end up with a lot of bedbug bites at one point) I also had some trouble with my items being "misplaced" I'd ask the wife Sara if she knew where my items were and she'd say she didn't know anything about it then I'd find my stuff in their laundry room and when she saw i found them she said she thought another guest who had checked out already left the items behind, I had my own locker where i kept my stuff so I don't know why she would assume that. I hope others have a different experience but Santiago specifically made my stay less desirable with his rude comments and bad attitude. Would not recommend this place unless there is a change in management.

What I really loved about this hostel is you are having breakfast with the owner and his family, like you are a part of it. It is really a nice chill and small hostel, with a garden, a small roof and pool an very nice equipped kitchen there. On the breakfast they serve waffle fruits or fried egg on a bread and with fruits. The owner of the hostel has a lot information about the city and archeolocigal areas, he really gave nice tips to visit. I really enjoyed the time that I spent there.

It’s a neat little capsule hostel near the centre. Breakfast is included and they have a waffle machine where you can make your own waffles which is very cool and a nice perk! The beds were very clean and they provided towels which was very nice. However, a couple of things I noticed which could be improved: 1. The hooks all fell off the wall and there was absolutely no where to hang your towels. This was really annoying 2. The key card is not very secure as it opens all the lockers, not just the one you’re assigned to…. 3. There isn’t a plug inside a capsule and you can only plug one USB C and one USB cable to the wall. If you want to charge a laptop or anything else then you need to leave your device in the hallway or outside. 4. It’s NOT fire safe at all. If you need to leave the capsule then you need to press a button. This button only works if the keycard is slotted in and your capsule has electricity. So if you accidentally lock yourself in without the keycard, there is no way out… the emergency unlock button does not work Oh and also you can only pay in cash which was annoying… But, for the price you pay, it is still very good and I would recommend it despite the flaws. Just be aware of the points above when you’re there and prepare accordingly

This place is okay for maybe one maximum 2 nights. Firstly, it’s pretty far from the centre of town, at least a 20 minute walk. When we arrived there had been some heavy rain & there was a bucket in the reception area to collect water (a great first impression 😅). They couldn’t accept card as their card machine doesn’t work, which is really inconvenient. Considering that the capsules are for two people, they only provide a locker big enough to fit one bag in. Meaning our other bag had to be left in the already cramped hallway. The capsules themselves are alright, a unique experience if anything. The A/C wasn’t working in ours so it would get hot throughout the night, which made it a little claustrophobic. There is only one USB port inside the capsule, again it’s for two people so this is useless & there’s no where to charge a laptop, another inconvenience. The shared bathrooms have a really disgusting smell coming from them, we had to hold our breaths every time we went inside. The showers & toilets are dirty & there is black mould growing on the ceiling. Some more care towards cleanliness would go a long way, we didn’t see any cleaners the entire two nights we spent here. Positives we can think of are the price, it’s one of the cheaper places to stay in Merida & the fact that they provide towels. Other than that, the place is pretty shit.

This hotel would make the hotels on ‘Gordon Ramsey’s Hotel Hell’ look like the Ritz. There are sooo many things wrong with this place, it’s hard to even start. Firstly, who we presumed was the manager knew nothing about hospitality & how to treat a customer. The ‘showers’ if that’s what you can call them, are SO bad & dirty it’s beyond belief. What’s more than water can change in an instant from luke warm to boiling hot, due to other people showering or using the loo’s meaning it’s impossible to get a steady temperature for longer than 10 seconds. The owner needs to open his eyes & stop seeing tourists as money bags, actually invest in this place & stop being a tight git.

(Translated by Google) My experience at Kapsul Mérida was good; the attention from the entire staff was sensational. Perhaps the only minor issue would be the cleanliness of both the capsule and the showers and bathrooms. And perhaps they could work on better soundproofing the capsules, as it's easily audible and sometimes makes it difficult to sleep. What really stands out about the experience is the friendly service from the entire staff and the innovative concept. I would definitely return. :)

Although it could be better in this regard, it's an option if you're just passing through; they have options for 1 and 2 people. For longer stays, it's a bit cold and not as comfortable. Luggage can be stored outside the capsule area in locked lockers. You can park on the street in front of the hotel. There's always a staff member, but they could improve their attitude. A lovely place to spend your days in Merida. Staff and volunteers are amazing. Cleaning is scheduled every day in all the areas of the house. New bar and enhanced amenities since my last visit- I have never commented on toilet power before but they have the best toilet paper and paper towels I have ever encountered in a rental. Even five star hotels 😝 the service was wonderful in the morning for coffee and the 2 for 1 special had long hours , there are daily specials and the pool is very clean and welcoming , there is a large modern communal kitchen and the bikes are in very good condition , I will rent here again for short term between places

Really unexpectedly luxurious hostel, and a really fun crew of volunteers to be around with! Yes it’s not in the center, but I will argue that this actually even gives it a more authentic taste. The pool is amazing to have, the rooms are clean and spacious. And I’m not saying all that just because of the free beer. It’s actually a thing. Check it out Morties!

This is a brand new hostel and no detail has been overlooked in its coming together, the design is flawless, all details have been thought of. The kitchen is well stocked, the bedding is new and the mattresses and pillows are high quality, the dorms are spacious, it's super clean, there are loads of social areas to hang out, super nice staff, really decent coffee, free water and free bikes. I have no idea how it is so cheap. It's not in the centre, thats a 10-minute cycle which we didn't mind at all. They try to offer optional activities every day if you're feeling social, so perfect for solo travellers, but we felt no pressure to join in if we didn't want. The neighbourhood is really pretty and safe. We loved Merida, best vibe on our travels all through Mexico. If I was being nit-picky for one improvement it would be that it would be nice if the dorm beds had curtains for a little privacy, but that's the only thing I can think of. Super nice place.

This hostel in Merida exceeded expectations with its modern, clean and cozy accommodations. The friendly staff provided excellent service, we can also rent bike for 25pesos the day!

This is a great hostel that has recently opened! The staff are super buena onda, and we really took advantage of the pool and the free bikes. They definitely make the heat more bearable! The air-con is also really good, and esential to get a good night's sleep. Its great value for money. Would definitely come back. Perfect for both group and solo travellers, couples and people visiting Merida for a short time. Hasta la proxima!

I've gotta say, hands down, the best hostel experience I've had in Mexico. This place has got that artistic touch in its design and decor, giving off this super chill yet spiritual vibe. They've got it all – a cinema room, a kitchen that's basically a chef's dream, a pool that actually works, and a gym cozy enough for some yoga or cardio sessions. Oh, and the free breakfast? It's a lazy vacation dream – from 9 to 11. Perfect for those late risers like me. Sure, I've heard some folks grumble about the location, but personally, I'm loving it. What I did was catch a bus from Park San Juan (close to the ADO terminal), asked for the route to the Park of Las Americas, hopped on for a 10-minute joy ride, all for just 7 pesos, and boom, I'm at the hostel. And let me tell you, it's a stone's throw away from the Park of Las Americas – great spot for workouts, chilling, and diving into some street food goodness. Need groceries? La Macarena Petronila is just a 10-minute stroll, and they've got this killer deal on roasted chicken – under 100 pesos! Beats Walmart prices any day. Plus, you can snag a bike for just 25 pesos a day. But seriously, the real MVPs here are the staff and the owner. Top-notch patience, super helpful, and welcoming vibes all around. Major props to the owner for actively hiring more female workers, supporting the community – impressive move. Casa Encuentro De Joaquín Garcia isn't your typical party scene; it's more like a Yucatán oasis where you can unwind, get some remote work done, and just feel at home for a while. Trust me, you won't regret it.

Nestled just a few blocks from the vibrant main square, Casa Mexilio is a charming boutique hotel that captures the essence of local culture with its colorful tiles and folk art decor. This historic gem features eight uniquely designed rooms and boasts a rooftop bar for guests to unwind. The lush pool area, surrounded by tropical plants, creates an enchanting oasis amidst the bustling city life of Merida.
Roger, Richard, and Jorge have created something very special here. Casa Mexilio is absolutely beautiful and a true oasis. The property is very well maintained, easy to find, spacious, interesting, historic, and just really really nice! I took a late night swim in the pool surrounded by falling flower pedals looking up at the stars totally forgetting I was in the middle of Mireda " Centro " just a few blocks away from, well everything! Location, gracious hosts, a storied historic building, interesting antiques and artifacts throughout the halls, comfortable accommodations, great value, 2 rooftop terraces. Out of the many places I have stayed in my travels, I think I fell in love with this magical place the most.
Jesse G — Google review
You can see that the hosts, Roger and George, had at one time put a lot of time and energy in to this beautiful facility but today many things are in need of attention. Dirty floors, burnt out lights, and rusted out furniture are a shame. The pool should be a nice retreat but I found it dark, overgrown and the stones around the pool are uneven and in need of a good cleaning. Beautiful antiques in each room tell of the love and effort that was once here but today everything shows the lack of attention. And even sadder is that what was once a retreat in this busy city is now overpowered by a noisy nightclub only a block away. Everything is adequate, including the breakfast, but nothing is remarkable.

If your preference is for something unique and not mainstream, you will find it in Casa Mexilio. Ornately adorned with antique object that each have their own place, this place is full of charm. We stayed in the Penthouse, which has it's own patio and rooftop porch. I found it to be economical, especially coming from Tulum. The location is a five minute walk to the main plaza. No regrets staying here for a couple of nights.

Guests can unwind by the outdoor swimming pool or enjoy the lush garden and terrace areas. The attentive staff goes above and beyond to create memorable experiences, whether it's planning a romantic anniversary dinner or welcoming furry friends as it’s pet-friendly!
We had such a beautiful stay, in a beautiful place, with beautiful people. Everyone was so attentive, professional and super friendly. They spoke fluent English, but took the time to listen to and encourage our faltering Spanish. The breakfasts were delicious and they helped with booking restaurants and taxis etc. We stayed in the Rosa suite. The private pool is more like a water feature as it lands just above the knees, however it was wonderful to cool down with a paddle in the afternoon, on the days when we didn't have time or energy for the big pool. Absolutely recommend staying here.

Wow, this place deserves all 5 stars and more. It is stunning, with gorgeous art and impeccable design in every space. The owner and staff make you feel right at home, they are friendly, warm and happy to help with anything from dinner or tour reservations to restaurant recommendations. The location was perfectly situated between the Plaza Grande downtown and the tony Paseo Montejo area, as well as a 10-15 minute walk to the lovely Parque Santa Lucia and even closer to Parque and mercado Santa Ana and the delicious upscale restaurants of Calle 47 (don't miss Micaela Mar y Leña on 47th or music in Santa Lucia park Thursdays at 9pm). When we got home every night, not only was our room always spotless, they left little chocolate kisses and, on Valentine's day, gorgeous mini brownies with flower frosting ❤️. Highly recommend, especially for a romantic get away.

(Translated by Google) Unfortunate stay although the house is beautiful and beautiful for the aesthetics there is no complaint, we rented through Air b and b, but we had a TERRIBLE problem IN THE DRAINAGE of two rooms, we used the tub in the room called ROSA and it connects to another room, when draining the tub, all my water came out through the next room, which flooded the entire room of the neighbor who was staying, the worst thing is that it came out with 💩💩💩 this happened twice in the 3-day stay and well we had to clean dirty water with 💩 that drained from the room to the living room and kitchen, you can imagine the terrible smell... it happened twice because they didn't even know what was causing it until I realized it, the first time they sent cleaning and the second time it happened at night they didn't send cleaning until mid-morning of the next day OBVIOUSLY I HAD ALREADY CLEANED BECAUSE I WASN'T GOING TO BE WITH THE SMELL OF POOP THROUGHOUT THE HOUSE. Another point: The private pools in each room are out of service. I assume that's why their cistern doesn't have the capacity to handle so much water, because water gushes out with 💩💩. They don't tell you this until you make a reservation that they can't be used. Another point: There are no irons to iron your clothes, so you walk around all wrinkled. The app indicates that there are irons, but they don't have one in the house. Although the place is beautiful, this is a big demerit on the experience! Little mistakes ruin a great place, such a shame.

The rooms are 2/3. One had a small leak. The water went out while someone in my family was bathing and it took a while to come back, in addition to other details. However, I think the service makes up for it. The staff is very friendly and they serve quickly. I would definitely stay there again, but the place requires a little more maintenance. The bed very comfortable. I loved that they have a hammock and it was perfectly clean. The furniture needs some maintenance. There were some drawers that were difficult to open and the toilet had a constant slight leak. The water temperature was never hot, although with the temperature of Mérida you hardly need it. In my case, it was desirable to shave. It has an excellent small refrigerator if you are going to be in the room, you can buy soft drinks or beers at the OXXO that is right in front. It has a good-sized pool that is also excellent for trying to warm yourself up, it is medium-sized and has a shallow area and a deep area. The price of the room comes with continental breakfast (coffee, bread and fruit) very convenient so you don't leave with an empty stomach. They have free parking and WiFi. For the price, it is an excellent option. Tienen estacionamiento gratuito y WiFi. Por el precio, es una excelente opción.

They didn't have hot water, they didn't give them soap to bathe, or blankets, they don't have a restaurant for dinner. Hotel Hacienda Merida is a charming boutique hotel located just a short walk north of the Plaza Grande in the center of Merida. Once an actual Hacienda, it has been beautifully converted into a hotel, offering guests a tranquil oasis in the midst of the city. The hotel boasts three swimming pools and spacious rooms, providing a peaceful retreat within walking distance to the historic center and restaurant area. Guests have praised its good service, attentive staff, and delicious breakfast.
The hotel is gorgeous. The pictures online don’t do it justice. The staff is wonderful, particularly Issac who went out of his way to make us feel welcome. They have rooms that may not be online, so it’s best to call and ask. We had our 2 kids (age 7 and 10) and they were really happy. Though I would say it’s more of a hotel for adults. Room was spacious. Pool is clean. Breakfast is not included but lovely if you choose to go for it. Definitely staying here again next time.

Absolutely lovely stay. Entering the hotel felt like entering another world that was quiet from the streets, with a beautiful hacienda vibe. The staff were all welcoming and helpful. We were caught in hurricane Milton but the hotel staff made arrangements to assure all guests and the bar making sure we had drinks in hand so we still had an amazing time. Rooms are also lovely and rustic. Highly recommend!

We would have probably given this hotel a 4 or 5 star review was it not for the fact that we ordered a suite via booking.com but the room we were given did not reflect at all what was listed on either booking.com or the hotel website. On booking.com suites were listed as 40 sq m but what we were given was not even the 20 sq m which is the size listed on the hotel website. Moreover the hotel website and booking suite photos show a sofa area but our room had two ‘fold-up’ camping style chairs. When we queried the differences at reception we were told the room featured in the photos ‘had been given to another guest’ but the room we had looked identical to what they advertise as the cheaper ‘executive room’. On exploring the hotel it does look like they have quite a few rooms with sofas so I suspect they overbook the suites and then allocate the unlucky guests lower class rooms. That, together with the fact that they advertise the suites as being double the size on booking.com we would recommend against taking the risk of paying for a suite and opt for one of the lower priced categories to avoid disappointment. Another thing to note is the hotel is located right next to a Cuban restaurant with live music until around 11 pm so probably best to not try to go to bed before that time. The reception staff were a let down since they refused to engage on the fact they had misrepresented the suite via their website and booking.com and the manager refused to speak to us. After complaining we were given a bit of a discount (close to the price of an executive room) so we suspect we are not the first guests to have made a similar complaint. The other staff like the room attendants, concierge/porter and bar staff were really friendly so a shout out to them. To be balanced, if we had been given the room we booked and paid for (and didn’t need to try to engage with the reception staff or manager over this issue) we would have recommended this hotel since it’s a good location, well maintained and is a good option for exploring Merida for a couple of days.

I am so glad I found this property! It was absolutely incredible! The photos are 100 percent accurate. The location is great and there is a small grocery only a few blocks away. We walked around at night and never felt unsafe at all. My kids loved the fish pond and the pool. I WILL be staying here again next time I am in Merida.

From the moment you walk in you could already feel and see the attention to details. Everything was fabulous. We loved every moment of our stay and wish it was longer. The pool was just perfect for our 4 kids. The bedrooms have enough beds to hold our family of 6. We loved the closeness to Mercado Santiago. The house sits on such an adorable street. It was just perfect!

Beautiful place with more then enough room for 6 people. There is an outdoor kitchen, pool, hammock. And the price isn't high for the value.
