The 50 best desserts and snacks in Sapporo

This is my first visit to this famous sweets souvenir shop. I went to second floor directly because I wanted to try dine in experience. Unfamiliar with the setup I went to a more express casual tables with simple menu. I ordered an ice cream sandwiches and a steamed scallop bun with coffee. It cost about 810 yen. Normally I am not a fan of sweets but contrary to my expectations I liked it although scallops bun was savory. Very fresh and flavorful. Afterwards I went downstairs to purchase souvenirs. I bought some caramel rice crackers some hard candy in a beautiful tin case etc. They were all beautifully wrapped. Sweets were about 4000 yen.

The cafe upstairs offers a charming selection of dainty pastries that are as visually delightful as they are enjoyable to eat. It was a little bit sad since we specifically went there that morning to try their hot chocolates, but it wasn't available. The first floor of the store has all the Rokkatei items you can buy. While many of their treats impressed us, not everything was to our taste. For instance, the popular Butter Sand felt a little too sweet for our liking, and the mochi, though soft, was rather bland and underwhelming. However, their chocolates were excellent.

The ice cream raisin dessert was iconic, definitely worth a try. The pancake and the cheese cake are above average. The drinks are so so. We had queued for over an hour for a table, the atmosphere is quiet and it is like eating in a garden.

The main store for Rokkatei in Sapporo. Cafe is on the second floor while the shop is on the ground level. Tables are widely spaced out, giving the privacy that each customers need. They serve simple fare here and highly recommended are the pizzas and the Marusai ice cream. Pizza crust is chewy and fluffy. Marusai ice cream has a rum raisin taste. Expect wait at the cafe. However, you can choose to shop at while waiting for your number to be called.

They forgotten our orders. We are the first few who ordered at around 1040am but after 30mins of waiting, our food is not here. Upon asking, they told us that they need another 30mins to prepare our food and drinks. This is totally not acceptable as other who came later than us had already finished their meal and left. Our food that we ordered doesn't require lots of time to prepare, which makes us think they forgotten our order. Other than the service, 5stars for their food. Sweetness level is perfect. Baguette filling is cheezy n juicy. Too bad the filling is slightly too little. Clam Chowder is mind blowing. Rich and creamy. Clam fully absorbed the richness of the soup. Sliced almond gives a luscious taste to the rich and flavourful hot chocolate. Sweetness is made to perfection. Prepacked souvenirs with different combinations at an affordable price. Do take note of the expiry date as I believed not much preservative are used. Which is good

Tried the signature Marusei Ice Sand at Rokkatei. Even though I’m not a big fan of raisins, I really enjoyed it—the balance between the ice cream and the biscuits was excellent, and it wasn’t overly sweet. This special item isn’t displayed at the counter, so you have to ask the cashier, who will take it out from the fridge behind them.

The queue at the front was a giveaway that something was going on inside. Doors open at 10 am at this shop, and within 5 minutes the store is packed with shoppers snapping up the biscuits and goodies on offer. The cafe on level 2 is very nice and relaxed. The Marusei butter sandwich, cream cheese sandwich and mixed bean bread were all lovely.

The airport doesn’t sell slices so you can get a single cheesecake slice from here which I find better than a whole cake because a full cake is frozen.

The creamy cheesecake consists of four layers therefore four stages of great pleasure. A must try! The strawberry cake was so light that I had no effort gobbling down both of them!

Tried the strawberry shortcake- Good fluffy, light, and sweet sponge that melts in your mouth. Goes well with their light and milky cream with the perfect amount of sweetness. Yummy!

Probably the best Japanese cheesecake I've ever had, would definitely visit again

5 stars for the cheesecake and Swiss roll! Missed out in Otaru but glad we managed to get it when we arrived at Sapporo Station. Be patient and leave your confectionary to thaw for a 8 hours as recommended though. We ate it within the hour and had really good ice cream as opposed to cake. This didn't do it justice though as when we ate our leftovers the next day, it was so much softer and even more amazing!

It’s such a beautiful place! I visited in mid-October, right in the middle of autumn. The gardens were decorated with colorful flowers in full bloom, and the weather was just perfect. If you don’t plan to visit any of the special exhibition rooms, there’s no entrance fee — just strolling around, taking photos of the rose garden, fountains, and stunning architecture already makes the trip worth it. You only need to pay a small parking fee, which isn’t expensive at all. When you get tired from walking, there are also tasty food and drinks available to enjoy.

Wow, what a fun place! And it only gets better if you love chocolate. The open area is already so lovely, well kept, and enjoyable even without having to pay for admission into the park proper. But it's well worth it to pay the small admission price to see the chocolate museum and factory inside! I enjoyed the "time travel" presentation, and the Halloween theme during our visit. It's such an enjoyable visit that should last at least a few hours Pro tip: watch the clock tower at the top of every hour!

For a chocolate factory there are 2 products both are covered in so much biscuit you'd be surprised this isn't a biscuit factory. The story is cute and the garden is lovely, the garden is accessible for free and so is the shop and some lovely areas. Having been to bournville in the UK when it was UK owned and again when US Kraft owned it it's going a bit rubbish but is still about 100x more entertaining than this place. Recommended for if you like some superficial nonsense for your overpriced products. But if like me you were hoping to get some chocolate from a chocolate factory give it a swerve. Or just enjoy the English sort of aesthetic of the place and the garden but know the smell of chocolate will leave you deeply disappointed and needing to visit a shop for a proper chocolate experience

A wonderland that is both interesting and romantic. The ticket is 800 yen for adults, tourists can get access to the main building by the ticket. The main building, mostly telling stories about the history of making chocolates and the founder of this factory, is magic. And tourists can also learn how to make chocolates and cakes here. And the most impressive part I’ve learned today is that ‘white lover’ is named because the snow in Hokkaido is beautiful so that the founder’s father called it ‘white lover’. The dessert on the top of the factory was just splendid! with good view by the window, a perfect experience! Highly recommended!! And if you don’t buy tickets, the free area is also amazing, like a magic garden in a fairy tale. It’s a pity that we didn’t get enough time today, maybe next time when I come with my child, I’ll spend a whole day here!

Highly recommend to visit in October. The park is decorated for Halloween. We paid ¥800 to tour inside which was interactive for children as well. The factory view from above was very interesting. There are also plenty of photo spots and even a ¥300 camera from above photo spot in the courtyard. We purchased customised 36-biscuit tin and magnet from the Piccadilly shop downstairs in the main building and it was ready after a 30 wait. There are some shop exclusive items, however, the biscuits are standardised price across all gift shops in Hokkaido so no need to stock up here.

Awesome fun fairytale like place. For non-paid area, you can take a lot of Instagramable pictures. And there’s a song and show at every hour e.g 1pm, 2pm … For the paid area (8k yen), it was worth paying as I learnt a lot more on chocolate and the brand. On the top, there’s a cafe, drinks and food is ok but the view from the counter chairs is really pretty. It overlook the park and you can see the show at eye level.

Shiroi Koibito Park is well known as the home of Hokkaido’s famous cookies, and the inside factory tour and shop are quite fun. However, the outside area feels a little underwhelming—there isn’t too much to see or do, and it can feel a bit boring if you’re just walking around the gardens without joining the indoor activities. The design is pretty with some European-style touches, but overall the outdoor space is quite limited. It’s still worth visiting for the sweets and souvenirs, but if you’re expecting a large park with many attractions outside, it might feel a bit disappointing.

Ishiya is another chocolate company in Hokkaido, known for their amazingly delicious Koibito cookies. These cookies are probably the single most popular gift souvenir (omiyage) people buy and bring home from the area, so they're known all over Japan. Ishiya also runs a famous little cafe in Sapporo as well, serving all manner of sweet treats like parfaits and dessert pancakes. Given that I wasn't particularly hungry, I just opted for their Koibito Soft Serve and their White Chocolate Latte. While the latte was good, it was nothing particularly amazing, but that soft serve (more commonly called "soft cream" here) was absolutely sweet and perfectly captured the essence of their cookie namesake. If you need a break from the cold, Ishiya Cafe is highly recommended.

This place has great atmosphere. Free WiFi. The food was delicious for our morning breakfast. Hot cakes with whipped cream and berries with peach tea. Husband got the egg sandwich and coffee. All was very delicious! It is a self service meaning you seat yourself and order at the register. You receive your drinks and the corner with a number stand. They will deliver your food to your seat and take the number back. Ordering in English was fairly easy to communicate via pointing on the menu what we wanted. So if nervous about eating at a place without much/if any English on the menus, please do not stray away. I think you'll love it here. 😁

Pros: The location is wonderful for winter since it’s tucked way in the underground walkway between Sapporo and Odori station. There was a lot of seating and spacious But their pancakes just weren’t that great. They were more like a dense sponge cake than a fluffy pancake. They stand up beautifully and not jiggly at all. Also, the portion is quite big. One pancake is enough for one person I think. Two pancakes (one order is two pancakes) can be shared quite easily between two people.

Located along the subway underpass and has a pleasant ambience! Tried the pancakes with maple syrup and it was not as fluffy or light as soufflé-style pancakes, but it was still an enjoyable treat with melted butter and syrup. Expect a more dense, cake-y pancake here.

I was dissapointed that their affordable morning set menu was not available anymore. I was not able to finish their big serving of plain hotcakes (good for two IMO, but expensive for solo travelers). Tastewise, it is more into a pound cake consistency so it was a bit heavy.

This is one of the top breakfast cafes you need to visit while you’re in Sapporo. It’s located on basement L2 of a building (underground tunnel that connects to Sapporo JR and subway line). The breakfast morning set that you must try costs ¥600, which includes a 12cm pancake that looks like a Hokkaido cheesecake, yogurt, salad with ham and a hot drink of your choice such as coffee, tea or corn soup. Please note, if you choose tea or coffee you will get a complimentary shiroi koibito white chocolate langue de chat cookie, corn soup does not come with one. The pancake is light and fluffy and together with corn soup fills you up for the entire morning. Black shiroi coffee is nothing special and with most black coffee in japan they taste terrible. Delicious breakfast for great price, definitely must try!

Nice cafe to hang out with your friends. The desserts were good. What I liked about the cafe is when you order a coffee it come with it a complimentary biscuit.

While doing my research for Sapporo one of the desserts that kept getting mentioned was Hokkaido soft cream. Snow Brand Parlor was close enough to the area I’d be walking around. The parlor was mostly full as I was visiting around noontime on a Monday. I placed my order and it arrived pretty quickly. The melon ice cream was delicious. It easy to see why it gets praised so much. The creaminess and softness was more noticeable compared to other ice creams I’ve tasted before. Overall I had a great time at Snow brand’s flagship store.

Had lunch: baked rice and the popular cream!

The place is very nice, there is a shopping area and a meal area where you can sit and order from a very beautiful menu all kind of ice creams that you want. The issue that I noticed was into the menu: there wasn't any indication of the weight of the ice cream only the price and a picture. There's no reason to not put the the weight in grams, since it's the very first indication of ho much big the ice cream is. The other star that didn't make it is about the staff. Some of them were gentle and kind, but the girl that served us was very cold and unfriendly. Also the cashier wasn't very welcoming. Also the ice cream wasn't nothing special. Fortunately we took the soft cream simple ice cream and that was the only nice dessert that we could appreciate.

When in Sapporo, Hokkaido. You must visit Snow Brand Parlor Main Store. A dream paradise for every dessert lover. The store specialise in Parfait. I did my research online for the trip and happen to chance upon it. So I tell myself I must come here try the No. 1 Parfait because the image they present is so nice. I am a NO. 1 parfait(¥4760) where it can feed 2 to 4 people, me go solo. 😂😂😂 Take me about an hour plus to finish it & it got me tastisfying food coma. The parfait consist of various scoop of ice cream they available, melon, preserved & fresh fruits, cream, cornflake and biscuits. Disappointed that the melon doesn't taste as good. Advise: Do not eat alone unless you are black hole. Note: If you think No. 1 is small, they got 2 more other bigger than this. An old, simple and tidy shop for some traditional ice cream dessert. I tried the スノーロイヤル (snow royal) which is vanilla ice cream coffee set that served royal family first time in 1968. Simple and delicious. The parfait comes with different choices, recommend those come with seasonal fruit

Very flashy parfaits and desserts. Good for your Instagram reel, but the taste was nothing special - for their prices, I was hoping for something a little better. The service wasn't so great either - the waitress definitely did not want us there. If you're going to Hokkaido to experience their dairy (and ice cream), you can probably skip this place.

An extremely Japanese cafe and sandwich experience. The sandwiches are the highlight as this traditional and small basement venue. You choose from an extended menu of unique sandwich options. This includes Japanese experiences like fruit. The sandwiches are served on thick sweet white bread with the crusts remove and take quite a while to be prepared to order. The sandwiches are small, light, sweet and airy. For my palate, they are a bit plain and unsatisfying. I’d probably need 10 plates to actually fill up on them! Note some rules, like 1 item per customer. It’s also very popular here so you may need to wait for a table. We tried the crab sandwich and egg sandwich. It was tasty enough, high quality, and fresh ingredients. Overall it’s a unique experience worth having while in Sapporo:

A little bit difficult to find from street level but well worth the hunt!! Absolutely best sandwiches I have had in Japan. The melon sandwich was so fresh and juicy, delicious!! This place is a must stop on a hot day. Closed on Wednesdays, opens at 10am. Please visit here! The service was lovely and extremely welcoming. Highly recommend

I loved this place so much I came back two days in a row! Saera Coffee and Sandwiches serves some of the best sandwiches I’ve had in Japan. On my first visit, I tried a seasonal combo of Yubari melon and ebi fry (fried shrimp) sandwiches—and it was unforgettable. Even though the melon portion was small (just three pieces), the quality was outstanding: perfectly ripe with a delicate fragrance, smooth texture, and just the right amount of sweetness. The ebi fry was fantastic too—warm, crispy, and full of flavor. Combined with the soft, fluffy bread, it was a perfect bite. If I ever visit Sapporo again, I’ll definitely be back to try their snow crab salad sandwich. Highly recommended spot for sandwich lovers!

A very cozy cafe which serves wonderful fruit sandwiches and crab sandwiches. The tables are not too crammed and the environment is relaxing. I personally prefer the fruit sandwiches which consist of cream of rich milk flavour and sweet and fresh fruits, though the crab sandwiches are more popular. The staff are extremely friendly. Highly recommended.

Their most popular item (crab and menchi sandwich) indeed lives up to its name. The deep fried minced meat cutlet was super crispy and the crab flakes were well seasoned! Must try!!

The sandwich is excellent! We got the king crab, fruits and prawn sandwich, very nice! The service is also excellent, very friendly to foreigners! If you are here around the park, must try!

Every sandwich can be mixed with another filling so you get a lot of choices. What stood out for me was the corn croquette and ebi fillings. If there are a lot of customers, be prepared to wait for your food though. Mine came after 20 mins upon ordering.

Pls note the shop opens at 9am but the cafe only opens at 1030am. Was there at 930am so didn’t get a chance to try the food at the cafe. But the overall environment looks good!

Nice. The Cake, ice coffee and main dish.

At this Rokkatei shop anyone who has birthday, ( need to prove with ID certificate/card) gets a free birthday cake, served at the table, and the staff are singing " Happy Birthday to u" Very kind shop policy.

Last week both my wife and I separately visited the Maruyama Shop, and the kindness of the staff comes close to the fabulous flavors of their cakes and cookies. My wife uses a cane and after shopping, asked where the best spot to catch a cab was. Rather than simply telling her, one of the clerks went out and hailed a cab for her. On another trip I went into the store on a rainy day just as the skies opened. When I started to leave one of the clerks handed me an umbrella. I explained it would be a day or two before I could return it, and she replied, when I had time was fine. My wife grew up about 3 blocks from this shop, and we have been going there on all of our visits from the states. Can't wait until Rokkatei bring their great products and service to the USA. Go to this store and get your heart and stomach filled with goodness.

Visited around 4pm and the strawberry short cake was sold out. Ended up having the chocolate cake and the matcha cake. Chocolate cake would taste better if it is richer.

Came back for the Cheesecake Tart and try the other desserts. Everything was good. Not too sweet. The Cheesecake Tart and the Soft Milk Ice cream are still to die for. But in term collective desserts, the one that we had yesterday was amazing. This came a bit short overall. The Strawberry Shortcake and The Melow were good. The milk has a different flavor. Not a fan of it. I had too much expectation for the Hokkaido milk. Maybe at a different spot.

The cheese tart is really light with a lovely crust. Also tried the cream puff. The filling flows out easily. Taste is good. The Ice cream parfait with berries is amazing. Love the light creamy taste that’s not too sweet. The Cheese tart is very reasonably priced at 297 Yen. Will come back. The surroundings and atmosphere is lovely. Great place to rest n relax.

Was lucky to get a seat on a weekday 5pm. Some of the cakes have been sold out. Cheese tart was creamy and not too sweet. Ice cream was also milky and tasted like it was out from the farm. Slightly more expensive than the other ice cream store within the same area but their portion is huge.

Cheese tart was nice, I like it better than the one from Sapporo Agricultural College. The base was a crunchy cookie type base. (The one from Sapporo Agricultural College was soggier.)

Cheese Tart was absolutely delicious with the perfect texture and the berry in the middle was a cheeky surprise. Well worth the price! The soft serve was quite underwhelming as I had expected more of a milky flavour. Kind of reminded me like the soft serve at McDonald’s.

Great spot for a sweet tooth. Quite packed during tea time but always a seat available! Service as usual is very respectful. Staff try to interact in English with me. Everything looks fresh and yummy. Tryed the strawberry pudding topped with hokkaido milk soft serve. It was really good, well balanced in term of sugar and acidity from the fruit. Would come back again to try another pastry!

Omelette parfait is superb, also baked cheese tart has a very unique taste and smell. Spacious cafe with a lot of tables and chairs.

The café is on the second floor really nice, bright and airy. They don’t have a lot of savory dishes, but their desserts are the real highlight. The wait wasn’t long. My husband and I ordered two desserts, I got a set with three mini cakes and a drink, and he went for a parfait. The cake set came with soft cream, chiffon cake, and tiramisu, all tasty and so cute! The parfait was good too.

The cafe is located in a historical building designed by Tadao Ando, you can imagine the environment is simply impeccable. The staff are extremely efficient and friendly, they handled multiple tasks at the same time yet never forgot a smile. The food is above average, the price is high and the waiting time is very long, but still it is quite worthwhile to come.

Huge lineup at the upstairs cafe, the 990 combo was worth it, and the building itself worth seeing. Food quality was just OK, if the lineup was under 10 min, I’d give it a 4 stars.

During my visit to Hokkaido, I had the pleasure of exploring Kitakaro, a renowned shop in the region. The building itself was a charming piece of history, as it was converted from a historic library. It has received numerous accolades and awards for its architectural design. Inside the shop, there were also bronze statues honoring its achievements. The second floor of the shop housed a restaurant, but due to the long queues, I decided to explore the first floor instead. This floor was dedicated to selling souvenirs. There was also a separate stall offering various sweet treats. On this occasion, I tried their cream puffs and tree ring cake. The cream puff I had at Kitakaro was the best I have ever tasted. When I took a bite, the cream inside was incredibly rich and had a distinct milky flavor. It was evident that the magic behind this cream puff lay in the high-quality milk sourced from Hokkaido. The combination of the delicate pastry and the luscious cream made for an unforgettable treat. I also tasted their tree ring cake, which was similar to a roll cake. I had tried a similar cake before in Tokyo, but the one at Kitakaro had a unique flavor. The cake had a light and fluffy texture, and each layer had a distinct taste. It was a delightful and satisfying treat. Whether you're looking for unique souvenirs or simply want to indulge in delectable sweet treats, this shop will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression on your culinary journey.

Housed on a restored artdeco building. The interior is hip and new. The shop is located on the ground floor while the cafe is at the second floor. Meals are served between 11am and 2pm only - the rest of the day would be just cakes and pastries. Their cakes and patries are good. Their soft-serve icecream is the best.

Highly recommended for sweet lover. I went there for my birthday on Sunday and waiting for 1 hour. The cafe is on 2nd floor. Go straight to 2nd floor write the name and number of people for booking list beside reception. 3 desserts and one drink for 990 yen is totally worth with quality and decoration. Staffs can speak English and well mannered I will go again before I leave Sapporo. So much joyed for my birthday.

Traditional japanese western-style cakes can be found on the first floor for eat in or take out. Hokkaido milk soft serve ice cream parfaits with fresh fruits available upstairs. For seating upstairs, all guests are required to order at least one drink.

Quite popular amongst the locals. It was authentic and a bit retro. It was too retro for my taste, hence the rating. However, if you dig 70s sweets, this place offers it in spade.

The monkey pastry was tasty, but the real star of what I got was the cheesecake. It's like a hybrid between a New York and a Basque cheesecake. It has the almost chewy crust of a Basque, with the fluffy crumbly creaminess of a New York.

The icecream is really good, but the soda and tea were soso. It smells like cigarette smoke.

Cheesecake and strawberry tart are OK. The price is very affordable.

These are the best soufflé pancakes we have had in Japan. To cook pancakes like this takes immense skill. Every mouthful was delightful. The atmosphere was lovely and the service friendly and attentive.

The pancake was eggy, light and fluffy. I was totally satisfied. I ordered the Classic white chocolate with vanilla ice cream and Fermented butter.. and my daughter ordered the Devils fluffy pancake. It was truly unforgettable.

I am not one for desserts but their pancakes definitely changed all that for me! The fluffiest and most scrumptious pancakes, not too sweet, just perfect. Sorry, no pix at all, was too excited to dig in. I had the cultured butter one. The ingredients are fresh and pancakes made to order. It is worth the wait as you won't be disappointed. Contemplating on moving next door. 😂 Lovely experience. Thank you.

The pancakes are really fluffy and worth to try except you will need to wait averagely 20 minutes. Their pancakes come with a fixed set of drinks.

very cute atmosphere for a cafe is the sum of the name - pancakes in maruyama they are very very soft and fluffy (soufflé pancake style) super super sweet wish there was less sweetness - just more sugar and more sugar on top of more sugar the cafe overall is nice if needed there is an english menu the employee/owner was curt and seemed annoyed And the chairs give an awful scraping noise when pulled in or pushed out great soft and superrrrr fluffy pancakes though would not make the trek there again

Best Hokkaido milk softserve!!! It is creamy and melts in your mouth Better than Kinotoya's soft serve 😘 (We tried both kinotoya and machinura soft serve on same day) Highly recommend the yogurt too from Machimura :)!! The pudding has a slight eggy taste but not too sweet so it was good.

The ice cream and yogurt were delicious. The milk and donut were alright. I like the ice cream here better than a lot of the stores I tried but I prefer the one at “The Soft Cream House” because it came with a better cone. However, the ice cream here is cheaper for the quantity.

Hokkaido is known for their milk products, and this milk soft ice cream is no sloucher. I can instantly taste the difference in the milk ice cream. The milk has a more pronounced flavour, like I was drinking some high quality milk or even cream. I can taste and feel the individual ice crystals too, as they feel more separated from the creamy milk. It gave a unique taste and experience, like miniaturized bursts of ice crystals hit and meld with the creamy milk around it. It didn't taste like vanilla, but just purely of milk. It was softer than ice cream, and similar to frozen yogurt. It didn't melt too quickly either. The waffle cone was tasty. Not too thick or hard, and it broke off easily, but still kept its shape. Visiting Hokkaido, I had try out the dairy products. I came by this place and had gotten their dessert ice cream and local hokkaido milk. It was quite delicious and the milk was definitely fresh, something that you don't normally taste from milk in the US. I would recommend stopping by and try out their dairy products. I had some excellent parfait this evening at this cafe in downtown Sapporo. I ordered a Pistachio Parfait and everything about it was just sublimely delicious - the taste, the texture and the ensemble of it all. Service at this cafe was very good and very attentive. Very yummy parfaits in a cozy ambiance. I got the white parfait, which is their most popular. It was tasty but also got a bit monotonous after a bit because it’s a lot of milk ice cream with not too much else. My husband got the chocolate caramel parfait (the monthly special) and his was much more interesting. I was looking for a parfait that specifically mentioned using Hokkaido Milk and this was the place! The interior was nice and I really liked the ceiling lights. The seats by the large windows were also enjoyable to sit in. The dessert was delicious. I'm not too sure but perhaps they are using actual pasturized milk because there is more of a slight gritty texture to the parfait which I quite liked! I also thought the design of the dessert was pretty when served in the martini glass. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxing and I could take my time without worrying. Overall, I really enjoyed it!

Came here around 1430 on a normal weekday and wasn't busy. When we came it was rich milk and hazelnut flavors. Hazenut was really good and rich milk was ok. You get choice of 3 cones or cup. The atmosphere is very cozy with retro furniture. The car park is huge.

By far the best soft ice cream in Sapporo. Incredibly friendly staff, too. They only offer 2 flavors, one always being milk, the other a surprise!

When people say "this is the best ice cream I've ever had" they mean it, and so do I. The experience of eating this Hokkaido milk softcream was both wonderful and tragic. I don't know if I'll ever be able to experience it again and I highly doubt anything else will come close. I'll treasure the time I spent here. I came to the area to visit the Olympic museum but this is the part that remains in my memory.

We tried the strawberry and the chocolate banana parfaits. They were nice, but honestly very expensive. Perhaps they use top quality fruit as it tasted great, but the price was well above other parfaits that we had in Tokyo and Sapporo. A nice experience and great tasting desserts, just be prepared to pay for it.

I came here when they have the special limited time scallops pasta meal and it's was phenomenal, much better than 2 stars Michelin restaurants I ate in Hong Kong . Many side dishes, tiny coffee and cookies at the end, and an outrageous liqueur selection make this a place that I’m certain has tons of revisit value. English instructions are clear and easy to understand so we got to eat everything as intended. A must try!

Such a fun and unique experience! I really enjoyed being able to customize the experience and try many different flavors within one cup of ice cream. My favorite liqueur was the white peach, I would definitely recommend to those who like sweet, fruity flavors :) Staff was so sweet and welcoming, we really enjoyed our conversation with them even though we speak very little Japanese. Can’t forget the really cool atmosphere! We’ll definitely return on another trip to Hokkaido.

My family was craving for the milk ice cream. It was a bit far from where we’re staying so it was kind of a mini travel to get there. I was so disappointed to see the doors shut. When I was there I saw other people at the same place as me. Of course I tried to call but nobody answered.

Rating 5 stars for the yogurt and milk which was the best I’ve had in Hokkaido (and in my life). I was grateful because I managed to get the last bottle of 200ml yogurt for 330 JPY. The 200ml milk was 260 JPY. The soft serve for 400 JPY was only 3/5, it tasted good but melted too quickly and was a mess to eat. The waffle cone was also unremarkable. For soft serve, I recommend the one at “The Soft Cream House” instead.

The best fresh milk and soft serve ice cream I have ever tasted. I have tried soft serve in other places in Japan and Hokkaido (even Cremia) and this is still the best. Similarly their fresh milk tastes great without being too creamy/too much, just the best. Their opening hour varies by season and there is limited supply so would highly recommend to check before going.

That being said the pizze were very well presented, would feed two not so hungry people and service was prompt and very friendly (awesome table ordering made things happen so quickly)! The venue itself would probably qualify as swanky for Sapporo. Good music and good vibes. Highly recommended!

And because it's takeaway, you won't be able to taste it at its best. Mia Bocca is a bit rustic looking, perfectly fitting the vibe of the shop and it's Italian fare. The food was delicious, I especially liked the eggplant and mozzarella pasta we had. The four cheese pizza, while tasty and definitely good with their honey, could've used a bit longer in the oven as it was a bit doughy. All in all I thought it was a good restaurant, with plenty of options to choose from and enjoy.

Really busy night time parfait shop in Susukino area. Expect to get in line for at least 30min, but the wait won’t feel too long. Highly recommend to go there with solo or couple as they don’t have seating for huge group. Parfait is about 3000yen each and everyone is required to order one parfait each at least. It looks big but you can easily eat this by one person so no problem of ordering multiple of them. It’s very crowded so service here is rather slow, so plz have very little time constrain if you plan to go there. Menu changes frequently, so you will never get bored of this place.

This shop has a lot of hype in Sapporo but I think there are better ice cream shops. The queue gets crazy in weekends - almost 30 minutes so try to come on the weekdays. I would say, come for the hype and the creative presentation of the parfait. If you’re in it for the taste only, there are better places!

This cafe has some of the best parfaits I have tried in Sapporo by far. Their parfaits are not only gorgeous, but they also have so many unique flavours and combinations, as well as seasonal items. As Sapporo is famous for its “Shime Parfait” we decided to end the night off at this lovely little store. Finding it was a bit difficult, as it was hidden right in the heart of Susukino, but once we found it we couldn’t be more delighted. It was a gorgeous and quiet place, and the atmosphere was cozy and relaxing. I’ve been back twice, and each time I’m amazed by the quality and flavour. The “Yōtei-zan” Parfait, modelled after the mountain in Niseko, used yoghurt and was creamy and light, with a slight hint of spice from the leaf on the top. My other favourite parfait was the blueberry and lavender mochi parfait with white wine jelly and a hint of rosemary. Everything was delicious and I can’t wait to try more!

We found this spot as we were craving for dessert and ended up really liking their soft serve ice cream. My partner had the hokkaido milk soft serve while I had the hokkaido milk and matcha combo. The hokkaido milk flavour was nice and light, while the matcha flavour was more on the subtle side - I would’ve liked it more if the matcha was stronger though. We didn’t get to try their other desserts or drinks, but it was a cosy little spot to rest in between shopping and exploring.

Not so sweety as others. We took away and enjoyed at hotel. We can’t find the sister’s cafe as described in the comment, maybe it’s not open at weekdays afternoon. Anyway the quality is excellent . Varieties of small individual packing cakes are great, can try even you are a single traveler.

Missed their Furano farm store so was pleasantly surprised they have a branch in Otaru too. Entrance is tricky to find so just look for their signage after entering the Denuki Koji alleyway on the ground floor. Sweet, juicy melons with equally delicious melon flavoured soft serve. They sell smaller portion quarter melon Santa's Beard here too instead of the typical half melon but the cafe is pricier compared to others in the area. They also provide jagged metal teaspoons to eat the melon which is more convenient than blunt plastic spoons. Just a pity they don't sell the melon by itself since the fruit was so sweet that soft serve isn't really necessary.

Cheese tart is at the top of on my food list in Hokkaido. Thanks to Hokkaido Cheese Tart, a Malaysian owned company, for doing all the promotion. When I came across Kinotoya Bake at Sapporo station, I just had to try one. The tart base is crunchy and the cheese filling is tasty yet light. It was pretty good but would have been even better if it was fresh out of the oven. Also, I actually prefer the oozing cheese tarts from Hokkaido Cheese Tart back in Australia.

A must go to! While the cheese tart is what this place is most known for, if you have ever had cheese tart from this other place called “Hokkaido baked cheese tart” then this won’t really be amazing because it tastes exact the same. However, I strongly suggest buying the Hokkaido milk soft ice cream here! Trust me, during my Sapporo trip I have bought SO much soft ice cream in so many different places around Sapporo, and this was surprisingly the best one!

I am a self-professed cheese tart (and pastele de nata... and pudding) fanatic and these are my new favourite. Super buttery and crisp tart shell and creamy filling where you can definitely taste the rich Hokkaido dairy (more milky than overtly cheesy). The new blueberry flavour was great too with a thin layer of blueberry jam between the cheese filling and the crust. This tart has unseated Pablo as my favourite... Which is unfortunate because it's harder to get 😢

One of my favourite donut shops in Japan. They are big cafe than other MisDo we had. Staff is friendly and organised. Same as the shop, clean even it’s busy.

On the other hand, the tart may look simple, but its taste was incredibly rich and flavourful. The custard inside is light and airy, with a soft and fluffy texture — very impressive. If I had to choose between the tart and the soft serve, I’d definitely go with the tart. Definitely worth a visit!

I planned to try the soft serve since I landed at the New Chitose Airport, but the queue was just too long. I searched the map and realized that there was another place near my hotel, so I went to this shop located in Pole Town, which was very convenient and required no queue at all! The soft ice cream is very rich and thick, unlike the ordinary soft serve you can find in other parts of Japan. 😋It’s also very generously portioned, given that it costs just 540 yen! The portion is perfectly sized for two people, leaving no doubt about how they have ranked first for five consecutive years. Their cheese tarts are so creamy and rich too!

Cheese tart, apple pie and Hokkaido milk soft serve ice cream were unparallel. Thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you K bake, you really deserve your reputation.

The tart were excellent the cream cheese filling was meting in mouth. They are a bit pricey per unit (250) but still worth a try. There are other pastry that look delicious too

Delicious cheese tarts in Sapporo. The base was slightly more brown than I would like, however it did not affect the taste. We put ours in the fridge as I like cheese tart filling a bit more solid, this was delicious.

This place is located in the Pole Town underground shopping center. You can smell the pastries first before locating the store. I couldn't help myself and got both the pie and ice cream. The apple was shredded instead of diced or sliced. It also has a custard. I prefer this version better compared to the U.S. version. The ice cream is so creamy!
