Pistacia Vera is a charming cafe located in Columbus, Ohio, with a presence in the North Market. Founded by siblings Spencer Budros and Anne Fletcher, this German Village pastry kitchen offers an array of handmade pastries and sweets. Known for its delicate Parisian macarons available in twelve varieties, Pistacia Vera also bakes cookies, croissants, teacakes, eclairs, tarts, and more.
I genuinely think this is one of the best stops in Columbus. The staff is always super friendly and more than happy to answer any questions you may have. I also think they have some of the best coffee/latte options in the city. Their menu rotates seasonally, so you can always expect to never leave disappointed. My personal fall favorites are the maple butter latte or the pistachio latte. Both are creamy and delicious with the perfect sweet to bitter coffee ratio. If you’re looking for a light bite to eat, you can’t go wrong with the yogurt/granola bowl or the egg salad which is on the BEST croissant bun.

Great Coffee & Pastries, But Your Wallet Might Cry a Little Just popped into Pistacia Vera for a caffeine and pastry fix, and while I enjoyed it, my bank account gave me a stern look. It's definitely a "good, but expensive for what you get" kind of place. Let's talk lattes: The Pistachio Latte was good, no doubt, but honestly, it didn't quite hit the "$9 good" mark for me. Surprisingly, the Honey Butter Latte, at $1.50 less, was actually the standout – way better value and flavor. On the pastry front, they do a solid job. The Almond Croissant was absolutely fantastic, flaky and delicious. The eclair was good, and the lemon tart was just okay. So, a mixed bag, but some definite highlights. Look, I'd probably go back, especially for that honey butter latte and another almond croissant. However, be prepared for the price tag. My family dropped around $40 for a few coffees and pastries. Yikes! Definitely a spot for a treat, not an everyday habit.

My friend brought me here, and it was great! I am still thinking about the blueberry-lemon iced tea latte! If you like blueberry and lemon, I highly recommend getting that drink. I didn't even get a chance to take a picture of the drink before I devoured it. I did however get a picture of the cherry almond tart (when it was halfway eaten..sorry guys). It was delicious! I love cherry and almond—I have always wanted a dessert mixing the two because they have very compatible flavor profiles. This tasted great!
Victoria A — Google review
I stopped by Pistacia Vera and got their smoked salmon sandwich along with the strawberry matcha and honestly, this place never misses. The sandwich was fresh and flavorful, but the real standout was the strawberry matcha. It’s hands down my favorite spot for strawberry matcha no other place has come close so far. The balance of flavors is perfect every time, and the café itself has such a cozy, aesthetic vibe. Definitely a must-visit if you’re in Columbus!

Honey butter Latte iced 5/5 Lives up to his name perfect balance of expresso, sweetness and a little bit of buttery. Would definitely order again. Vanilla bean macaroon 4/5 Flavor was delicious it just didn't taste as light and fresh but was still good. It didn't give old & could be that I ate it cold right from the refrigerator. pistachio Chuck Cookie- 4/5, soft not too sweet pistachio forward with good balance of chocolate. Great treats and friendly staff. Will definitely  visit more. Look forward to trying other things on the menu.
Miracle R — Google review
So good! The chocolate bombe with the gold foil ontop is so delicious and feels like a fancy treat for myself! My partner had the macarons and loved them. The strawberry one has some jam in there and not just cream so that was a nice added touch.
Kim E — Google review
Some of the best pastries I’ve had! Service was great, considering the line was down the block. But they kept it moving and were friendly and helpful when ordering.
Tylir R — Google review
Great service. Pistachio iced latte was amazing, just wish they had bigger size options available. The macarons could have a little more filling in my opinion. The pistachio eclair was perfection. Overall, it is a place worth frequenting, but just know it is a bit pricey. We got 2 coffees, 2 eclairs and 4 macarons and it was over $50.

Belle's Bread Japanese Bakery and Café is a charming spot located in Kenny Center Mall, known as the Japan Marketplace. This family-owned bakery has been delighting the people of Columbus for over 30 years with its delightful fusion of French and Japanese baking styles. The menu features an array of pastries, custom cakes, and desserts with a unique Japanese twist, such as matcha cake rolls and Nutella kitty buns.
Delicious bakery. Beautiful vibe. Great service. The only thing I would add is some napkins in the dining area. Other than that, it's top notch and something I will recommend to everyone. Make sure to try the chocolate chip melon rolls.

The bread and pastries were out of this world! I live in the Akron area and would definitely make the hour and half drive solely for this wonderful bakery. Everything was fresh and stayed fresh! We had taken some food back home with us and even after a couple days everything tasted like it was just made!
Tabitha D — Google review
I had a great experience purchasing a small tiramisu cake from Belle's Bakery. The staff offered to add some handwriting in chocolate on top for no additional fee and put the cake in a handy box with handles for easy transport. In addition, the cake was delicious and reasonably priced at $25. The bakery was full of delicious looking and interesting baked goods plus various tea and matcha drinks. What a great place!

A huge fan of this place!!! The crepes are really good. I also love: red bean bun, Nutella bun, melon bun, chocolate bun, pana cotta, mousse, and chocolate cake. I drive all the way from Mount Vernon every once in a while so I can enjoy the goodness
Varvara A — Google review
Found this place last minute as a highly rated bakery in Columbus. I decided to give it a try and take part in enjoying the deliciousness. When I arrived it was around 1:30. It seemed like half the stock was out or low. Could sandwiches were basically empty a handful of the pastry trays were low. I assumed that was almost a good sign that meant sales were good which means pastries are good. I decided to get a caramel almond roll as I love both caramel and almonds. When I got to where I was going I was excited to dive in and even took a great picture. At first bite there was a strange taste. I took a few more to confirm and I was right it indeed had a weird taste. Something with the caramel moose had a very chemically/artificial taste to it. Very unenjoyable and ruined the entire cake. It fell like eating cleaning product moose. Idk if the mixing bowl the moose was made in didn’t get rinsed all the way or what but something not good happened. As for service again the slowness or lack of restocking items was an issue. Someone bought me an iced coffee with light milk And it was fully loaded with milk which means a lack of attention to detail. Personally preference they have work to do before getting anywhere near 4+ stars

My first bakery I’ve been to ever since I moved here and I have to say that it did not disappoint!! First off, I love how there’s plenty of other interesting little shops to go to that’s around it. Secondly, the customer service was great and the place feels fresh! Last but not least, the matcha cream puff, blueberry cheesecake and matcha latte was some of the best I’ve tried!✨can’t wait to be back🙂

I recently visited Einstein Bagels for the first time, and I have to say, it was a good experience. I tried their coffee, and chocolate mousse and they were good. The thing that I dislike about this place was that they don’t have wi fi so i don’t will come again.

La Chatelaine French Bakery and Bistro offers a relaxed setting to enjoy authentic French cuisine and handcrafted baked goods. The menu features a variety of savory and sweet options, including favorites like apricot bow croissants, coconut macaroons, cherry pinwheel croissants, and traditional French beignets.
Stepping into this charming restaurant is like a mini-vacation to France! From the French-speaking staff to the atmosphere, this place is the real deal. As someone who's traveled to France, I can confidently say it captures the authentic feel. The display of desserts upon entry is a feast for the eyes – I did get a beignet, which was delicious. Then I remembered that I had to do this review. The rest of my meal – creamy lobster bisque, fresh mixed fruit, and perfectly executed French toast – was equally impressive. The unlimited French coffee was a delightful bonus. The French-themed decor and clean facilities complete the experience. Perfect for a gathering of up to four, this is a must-visit for a genuine taste of France in Ohio.

This place c'est magnafique, the food, the desserts, the drinks, and the wonderful staff! So clean, cozy, welcoming, and delicious! I always want to try everything, and get something different each visit and I'm always impressed! Don't miss out on their homemade soups!

Had a nice brunch here with my younger daughter. She's a picky eater but enjoyed most of what we selected. She gives the bacon a double thumbs up. She also gave the breakfast potatoes a thumbs up, which is nice because she's not a fan of potatoes. Food was great overall. No complaints. Layout/ambiance was pleasant. Enough seating to have space without being too isolated. Service was pretty good too. Will visit again.
Nick L — Google review
We really enjoyed this experience with our 9-year old daughter. She said it was like walking through a door and entering a bistro in France! The staff were absolutely wonderful and definitely added to the experience. We went two days in a row since we were in town for the weekend. I highly recommend the lobster bisque if it is available. My family loved everything they tried. We took a lot home too because the bread was amazing. I am gluten sensitive (to wheat in US products) but I could eat here with no problem!
Stephanie S — Google review
Food was exquisite! and the owner was nice to us. We enjoyed our first brunch time in Ohio. Especially pastry with spinach was so good:) one thing we hope is more explanation with food&desserts because we tried a chocolate cake but it wasn't cake😅 it was meringue and cream but was nice experience!
Adila — Google review
We recently visited La Chatelaine French Bakery for the first time, and while the food did not disappoint, the overall experience was a bit mixed. The pastries and food were absolutely delicious—fresh, beautifully made, and with plenty of tempting options to choose from. If you're looking for authentic French baked goods, this place definitely delivers on flavor and variety. However, our visit was slightly dampened by the lack of a welcoming atmosphere at the counter. As first-timers, we weren’t quite sure where to order or how things worked. When we asked for help, we felt dismissed rather quickly, as if the cashier was in a rush—even though it wasn’tparticularly busy at the time. A little warmth and guidance would have made a big difference in our experience. That said, we’d still consider coming back for the food alone and hope for a more inviting interaction next time. A beautiful spot with great potential if the service matched the quality of their pastries.
Jennelyn P — Google review
It was a great location, the service was good but the structure was cafeteria set up. I was disappointed with the food as the cost to quantity was out of balance. A single slice of meat is ridiculous for the quantity of bread. The cappuccino was good but not excellent.
Mickie M — Google review
La Cha is a great French chain restaurant and bakery. The dining room is decorated well like a warm and cozy French home. The bar room is also beautiful. There are a variety of pastries, salads, soups, sandwiches, and French entrees. A few seasonal items are available. Everything tastes decent with a reasonable price. Their wood-oven baked bread is perfectly soft. The lunch combo is great coming with signature salad, a sandwich, and a cup of soup. Service is always nice and WiFi is available. It opens early. Definitely a wonderful place for a good morning.

Fox in the Snow Café is a quaint Italian Village café that has gained national acclaim for its high-quality coffee and rustic, made-from-scratch baked goods. The café has large windows that flood the interior with natural light, and is popular for its breakfast sandwiches and espresso drinks.
I'm a huge fan of Fox in the Snow. I've been going to other locations for the past ~8 years, but I recently started going to this location regularly. They have the same high-quality pastry case with a good variety of sweet/savory items. You literally can't go wrong with anything -- I don't think I've ever disliked anything I tried! They also have good quality coffee and good quality people. This location seems to be much less crowded in the mornings than other locations, so no need to anticipate a line out the door. One of Columbus' finest!
Kessashun A — Google review
We had a wonderful time at our stop at Fox in the Snow! The staff was amazing, the food was incredible and the coffee was divine! Seriously, we came in like a whirlwind, a toddler, infant and 4 adults, we aren’t the usual clientele but we were welcomed and never made to feel like we were too much or need to hurry out. We got to sit and visit before we left and went our separate ways. As a bonus, all of the fox décor made my heart happy. We made some fond memories on this trip and Fox in the Snow Cafe is one of the best! Would highly recommend it and will look forward to coming back someday when we’re in the area again!
Caralee B — Google review
Really excellent pastries and baked goods - I am a huge pastry snob and theirs are all good. Also great that they gave a good mix of both sweet and savory options. Loved the seasonal pumpkin muffin and everything bagel danish creation. Gets very busy especially on the weekends, so atmosphere is a bit chaotic but it’s a really nice space.
Sarah R — Google review
After a game of pickleball at Schiller Park, I stopped by the German Village location of Fox in the Snow—and it hit the spot. Whether you’re refueling after being active or just looking for a quiet mid-morning escape during the workweek, this location is ideal. I ordered a blueberry scone, the ham and cheese sandwich, the everything vegan croissant, and a chai latte. As always, their chai never disappoints—when I’m in the mood for one, this is my go-to. The ham and cheese sandwich was the unexpected star. I went in thinking it would be a small snack, but it was generously filled and surprisingly satisfying. The sesame seed topping added a nice crunch. I do wish they’d offer to heat it up, but they don’t. The everything bagel croissant was flavorful, but just a heads-up: the center tends to be a bit doughy. Not a deal-breaker, just something to expect. The blueberry scone was okay—visually beautiful, but it flakes down the middle and felt a little dry. I think halving the thickness would help distribute the sugary topping more evenly throughout each bite. Overall, Fox in the Snow is a great spot for a light, quality bite in a charming neighborhood. The menu has standouts, the setting is peaceful, and it’s a perfect pit stop if you’re in the area.
Kateland K — Google review
Really great atmosphere!! I love the feel of this place! The coffee was spectacular and it’s a wonderful place to work, chat or just sit and sip some bev
Sage H — Google review
Super cute cafe with lots of options. All of their pastries are so good and fresh. Service was great. The coffee was good too. They use the cutest, daintiest glasses for water.
Morgan D — Google review
A lovely spot for an excellent latte, their coffee is full bodied and cuts through the layer of perfectly steamed milk. They also make a very good chai latte. The egg sandwich is the go to here and deservingly so. The perfectly toasted bun and great balance between egg, arugula, and bacon should be part of every order. While borderline too sweet, their sticky buns have the perfect texture and loads of pecans.
T C — Google review
The cinnamon rolls and sticky buns are so good. Ham and cheese is delicious. Went on a Saturday morning and the line was out the door. The line moved quickly. Seating was hard to come by, but we managed to snag a table. Fast paced and noisy. They keep it clean and staff is on top of it. I recommend!

Bakery
Dan the Baker's artisan breads are some of the most delicious in Columbus, Ohio. The bakery has a Toast Bar where you can try their bread paired with gourmet toppings. The bakery is hard to find, but the rewards are worth it - Dan the Baker's bread is some of the best around!
This is a small little shop you go in and buy your bakery and then head out. We purchased a roasted garlic Asiago sourdough loaf as well as two croissants. The roasted garlic Asiago sourdough loaf was amazing. It had the nice crispy crust in the inside was very soft. The garlic flavor was infused throughout every bite, and the Asiago was a little bit more subtle at the top and little tiny bits throughout the loaf. This bread is excellent by itself or with a little bit of butter, olive oil, or with a little bit of marinated artichoke. The croissant was really good. We toasted it so it was a little crispy on the outside yet. Still warm and fluffy on the inside though it was fluffy. It wasn’t completely airy like some croissants. They had a buttery taste, and the flakiness perfect.
Jessica — Google review
Hear me out. The cheese danish and the smoked salmon dip…. Is an insane combination! I enjoyed every crumb! I also got the raspberry vanilla cruffin , ham and Gruyère croissant and a maple latte. Everything was fantastic! But the smoked salmon stole the show!
Brooksy B — Google review
there are a few pastry shops in the world that people have begun to talk about, and this one earned its spot on the list for sure. something that I believe people have become accustomed to as a higher level of pastry like Dan the Baker does and as you could see in these pictures, I tried almost everything and right out of the gate. It’s the balance that will get you. it’s not just the intense flavors but the balance between them a lot of times things are just too much but not here and you get to taste every little component to each one of these fantastic items. It doesn’t matter what you get you can’t lose so just go in and try stuff and if you’ve been here before, and you’ve been sticking to the same thing, definitely venture out. Great service and worth hanging out in line.

Bacon and egg croissant was delicious—very flavorful filling and croissant was light, crispy, and buttery. A very special treat and worth the stop in from out of town! Country Sour bread smells wonderful. Would stop here again!
Rachel S — Google review
Update: I originally said it was over priced… I’ve been back at least two days a week 😂 it’s that good!!! The iced honey vanilla latte is the best latte I have had in Columbus. I ask for an extra shot for a stronger coffee taste and for it to be sweet. The coffee alone keeps me going back. All pastries are so fresh buttery, not too sweet and perfectly balanced. The breakfast burritos and house made salsa are delicious. I haven’t tried something I don’t like yet. Great bakery!!! Original: Truly delicious pastries and drinks, but fare warning… it’s pricey. $18 for a pastry and 8oz tea. I loved my vanilla raspberry cruffin. Excellent customer service, clean nice restaurant, and free parking.
Taysia C — Google review
Exceptional bakery, at a cost. They say that you get what you pay for, and here you pay a lot. Over $10 for a croissant is unheard of. That being said, it is a beautiful, artisanal croissant, with a perfectly folded, rich dough that is crispy on the outside and fluffy and airy inside. Is it worth the price? Maybe. It certainy is exceptional quality, but then again, you can find really good bakeries at half the price. Based on the long lines, I guess most people do prefer best quality over price.
Andreu G — Google review
This bakery is one of the best and I have been to many!!! Visited on a Thursday AM- was lucky there was no line and lots of delicious looking pastries to choose from. The staff were super helpful and friendly. The cardamon bun- probably the best I have ever had- last summer I went to Scandinavia where had about a dozen and this one stands above them all! So good. Each bite so flavorful! The egg pancetta pastry was so unique and delicious! I wish I could go back and try every pastry they have! Definitely will stop by again when in Columbus.
Elisa T — Google review
Nobody even comes close to what theyre doing in here. The prices are high, but the food is worth every cent. The employees appear to be well compensated, the ingredients and selection is top notch. The quality theyre outputting is truly in a league of its own. Try as much as you possibly can. You'll be back. There's a variety of options both savory and sweet. Everything from steak sandwiches to egg danishes to cookies, classic bakery items, breads. Not much room to sit, more of a grab and go kind of joint. Go now.

Maison Skalli is a Moroccan-French bakery known for its handmade pastries and breakfast options. The viennoiseries, pastries, crepes, Moroccan cookies, smoothies, and brunch items are popular choices. The Atay (Moroccan tea) is a must-try with its warm and sweet flavor. Customers praise the salmon croissant, harissa tuna sandwich, poached eggs, and fresh baguette.
We had an exquisite brunch on Sunday morning that was absolutely perfect. Pleasantly surprised by all the choices, everything was beautifully presented and just delicious. The pistachio croissant is a must; not only is the cream filling light and flavorful, the croissant is perfectly flaky and buttery, and it's huge!! The Moroccan tea was a great pairing, and the poached eggs on the salmon croissant were cooked so well. Would go back in a heartbeat.

Delightful cafe with great pastries and drinks. It’s small so it can get busy but it’s worth the wait! I’ve come here twice specifically for this raspberry croissant. It is so fresh and delicious. The lamination in the croissant is excellent and the custard inside is the perfect texture. Not too sweet. The iced mint black tea was great too, very refreshing! Thanks again!

Super cute café with very friendly and efficient workers and AMAZING food. The garlic bread was the best I've ever had. The croissant was crispy and perfectly baked with spectacular filling. The honeydew bread was a LITTLE sweet for my own personal preference but it tasted exactly like honeydew and was delicious. 10/10 will be coming here again!!

Shared a nice assortment of pastries, our favorites being the savory mushroom tart (bottom right) and Almond Croissant (bottom left). The Uzu Donut (top right) was surprisingly delicious as well! Prices were reasonable for an upscale bakery. Only negative is it was pretty loud and we could not hear our drink pick up number being called. Definitely not a quiet coffee shop to study in, if that's what you're looking for. Plenty of seating options and very bright though.

Tous Les Jours - Means “everyday” in French, which is honestly so fitting because I would come here everyday if I could 👀📍😳 This neighborhood bakery @touslesjours_columbus specializes in French-Asian inspired freshly baked goods everyday, hand crafted beverages and bold, flavorful coffee and espresso. From the gorgeous cakes and specially designed packaging to a clean store, bright and airy ambience, Tous les Jours is so aesthetically pleasing. There is truly something for everyone here to enjoy. Everything we had was phenomenal. I will 10000% be back! 😋 Amazing customer service as well, all around such a great spot here in Columbus.

This place was amazing! Me and my partner recently went for our anniversary and found this cafe and decided to try for the first time- and it was beautiful. I love the idea of the self serve, it was quick, easy, and we were comfortable taking our time making selections and looking at all the treats :) the checkout was fast and you order your drinks at the front when you pay for the food. We got our drinks and ate our food and everything was delicious, fresh, and well made. The atmosphere was bright and thriving, and it was a delightful experience, for a great price too!! 10/10 highly recommend 💕

Nestled in Hilliard, Créme de la Créme Bakery & Cafe is a charming European-style bakery that opened its doors in 2023. With Ukrainian roots, this delightful cafe brings an authentic taste of Eastern Europe to Columbus. The inviting atmosphere and modern decor create the perfect backdrop for enjoying a wide array of pastries, including danishes, croissants, and tarts.
Creme del la creme much much better than the usual coffee shop. I have gotten breakfast items for me and friends to go and eaten lunch inside. You order at the display counter, and food will be brought to your quite comfortable and spacious table. Staff is extremely friendly by being very helpful. On my to go trip, I asked for items that were very soft, lower in sugar, very chocolatey, served in the sidewalk cafes of eastern Europe. They gave me: tres leche "delicious", tiramisu , chocolate "bombe" mousse cake "The chocolate bombe was decadent. Perfect for a chocoholic. It is what a Ding Dong would aspire to be.", and cinnamon baklava "unique and awesome". I ordered a breakfast crossaint, which had eggs, avocado, and greens and was very fresh. My next trip was for lunch. We had borsch soup, which was very good done in a provincial style with chunks of beet and some meat, and a very tasty broth, pierogies which are boiled, small size, and tender and tasty, salmon sandwich which was generous with salmon, cream cheese, greens and onion plus very aromatic berry tea. Also ordered a tiramisu cake, loved by all. They all have outside tables, not yet tried.

Excellent little cafe in an aging strip mall. Counter service was excellent and the staff had our order perfect. After ordering we found a table and had quite the wonderful lunch. My pierogi's were perfectly steamed and the wife's Tuscan soup was excellent. There was a nice hum to the place, it was very clean, and the food and drink presentation made it just that much more delicious.

Happy to find a restaurant that reminds me of the cafes in Ukraine. Really excellent selection of pastries, although they were out of several menu items. The borscht was our favorite, a must try. The staff working there are also Ukrainian so it felt like home 🇺🇦

At Crème de la Crème Bakery & Café, my recent visit was nothing short of delightful. Tucked in a cozy corner, this place offered not only a respite from the outside world but also a tantalizing array of baked goods that could easily rival the patisseries of Paris. The atmosphere was calm and inviting, perfect for a leisurely morning or a relaxing afternoon. Upon entering, I was immediately taken by the modern yet homely decor, with clean lines and a warm, inviting color palette. The display cases were immaculately arranged with an assortment of cakes, pastries, and other desserts that looked too good to eat. Each item was clearly labeled, not just with the price but with a small description that hinted at the ingredients and flavor profile, which I found very helpful. The highlight of my visit was definitely the smoked salmon sandwich. Served on freshly baked bread that was perfectly crusty on the outside yet soft inside, it was complemented by just the right amount of cream cheese and capers to enhance but not overpower the flavor of the salmon. Accompanied by a well-crafted cappuccino, it was the perfect meal to start my day. What truly set Crème de la Crème apart was the service. The staff was attentive without being intrusive, providing recommendations when asked and ensuring that my coffee cup was never empty. Spending a couple of hours here felt like catching up with old friends in the comfort of someone’s living room. It’s a gem worth visiting whether you’re seeking a quiet place to read, a casual meet-up with friends, or just a moment to indulge in some exquisite baking. We found Créme de la Créme Bakery when we were looking for somewhere to stop for coffee on our way to Southwest Ohio that isn't a chain. Being in a strip mall by the highway we had our doubts, but we were pleasantly surprised to find top quality pastries, flavoursome and well presented food, and really tasty coffee! Kittie’s Cakes has three locations in German Village, Bexley, and Worthington, offering a delightful combination of a coffee shop and bakery. The menu includes an assortment of breads, cakes, scones, tarts, croissants, buns, and biscuits. Visitors praise the passion fruit pastry and hazelnut specialty latte as must-tries. The friendly staff provides helpful recommendations with genuine enthusiasm. Guests enjoy the comfortable ambiance and flavorful medium drip coffee.
I came seeking the best cinnamon roll in Columbus. This was my third try (the last two times they were sold out— the perils of getting something that’s baked fresh daily!). It was quite a good cinnamon roll. The ratio of roll to cinnamon to icing was all great. When I finished, I felt satisfied but not like I had something sickly sweet (like a Cinnabon does for me! Never again!). Go early and enjoy! 😊

Jason L — Google review
This is a great lil business that offers wonderful products, but seems to have lost focus on overall quality. The bathroom was dirty, and there was a sign encouraging us to inform staff about any issues, but there wasn't any immediate issue(s), like a clog, or missing supplies. Rather, it was more of the general look of neglect, as if it hasn't been cleaned for at least a week; a buildup of shiny, dried, sticky spots all over the floor, debris on the edge of the bowl and seat, crusty faucets, etc. At this exact time, there were 2 employees at the bookstore register chatting to each other, with ample opportunity to "check the bathroom", as it's truly their job to do so. I found the cleanliness lacking throughout the diner as well. The tables weren't wiped down, inside or out, the counters, both where the food is prepared and where food is served, likewise were full of food debris because no one was taking the time to clean up, and it was attracting files. Acknowledging that I was there during one of their busiest times, Sunday lunch, but also, and I can't stress this enough, throughout my visit, there were many opportunities for the staff to remedy these issues. Five employees standing behind the counter, chatting to each other, while 3 of them worked, and they were tripping over each other to stand behind the counter to chat, and no one taking the initiative to clean the food prep area, much less the tables. So, I want to emphasize, it wasn't that they couldn't clean, it was that they didn't care enough to clean. Being understaffed is one thing, but having the staff who just don't care about their customers enough to do it, is altogether a completely different issue. Employees were friendly, pleasant, and very kind, but lacked supervision, direction and the thoughtfulness needed to provide an overall high quality of service. Truly caring for your establishment and your customers, by keeping things tidy, is a minimum in any food & beverage retailer. Sad to see a place with the ability to 'hit it out of the park' fall so short, barely making it to the 'so-so' mark.

This place was cute. Service was fast and friendly, atmosphere was average cafe vibes. The food (I got a cinnamon roll, which was almost out in the display at 9am), was disappointing. This roll was entirely one-note. Gooey, sweet, and soft. No caramelization of sugar, no crunch, and no structure. They microwaved it in the bag, and the bag took off half the topping, which while not a big deal for flavor, was a detractor for presentation. I don’t think I’ll be back here for the pastries though I may try out their sandwiches at some point.

I'm not kidding when I tell you that I just had the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. I ordered the sausage, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich on a cheddar jalapeno biscuit. A bit pricey but you get what you pay for. The caramel latte was also perfection.

I decided to just stop by on a whim to this cute little bakery/cafe and I’m so glad I did! The staff was friendly and helpful with suggestions. The coffee was frothy, creamy and delicious! If you’re thinking about getting the jalapeño cream cheese on your sandwich and you’re on the fence about it, just do it! The best part was while waiting for the food, there is a bookstore next door you can browse. Definitely recommend trying this place! ❤️

Three Bites Bakery, located in the King-Lincoln Bronzeville neighborhood, is a trendy spot owned by Isabella Bonello. With an Italian father and Filipina mother, she offers a unique blend of Italian and Filipino pastries. From bomboloni to Nutella cornetti and biko, her creations cater to diverse palates. The bakery also features French pastries like kouign-amann.
I visited Three Bites Bakery and treated myself to a flat white paired with a Nutella-filled cornetto. The pastry had a unique tanginess that surprisingly complemented the rich Nutella inside, while the coffee hit the mark perfectly. The service was impeccable, and the overall atmosphere is both cute and cozy. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Three Bites Bakery was an easy choice for our wedding cake. Years ago we had a valentine's pastry box delivered to our apartment and were hooked. It was so incredible to get to make new memories with their sweet treats on our big day. We had a two-tier vintage style grapefruit and ginger cake and multiple sheet cakes for our guests. Their day-of delivery and set up was seamless. We had so many comments from the guests about how delicious it was. We are so looking forward to enjoying our frozen top tier next year to celebrate our anniversary. Thank you Three Bites team!

We recently commissioned a cake from Three Bites for our small wedding in Columbus. We couldn’t have been happier with the flavor and the look! It looked so intricate and beautiful and the cake was delicious. Pickup was super easy and we’d highly recommend for your bakery needs!

Three Bites Bakery is the BOMB. We’re loyal customers and have been frequenting since they opened in their prior location. We love supporting a small, local woman-owned business. And the pastries are the best in Columbus! I always have to get a bombolone everytime I go. But we love the rotating features alongside their core staples. And I’ve ordered a birthday cake from them as well and it was also amazing (they do need advance notice on custom cakes, so plan ahead, but sometimes they have some available in-store or can make a simple cake faster). I also work in the wedding industry and have had many happy clients order their wedding cakes and desserts for their receptions. And now that they’re in their newest location on Broad St, there’s excellent coffee and bubble tea available from Little Cat Boba. So happy this bakery exists, we are so lucky to have them here in Columbus!

The ube-coconut concoction was great! It went well with our Filipino-themed wedding in Ohio. I can’t find this anywhere else in the Midwest if I’m exaggerating. They are responsive via email and I was able to sort it out even last minute. Our guests devoured them so we can’t really continue with the wedding tradition of eating your leftover cake every anniversary. My only constructive criticism is that they didn’t have the right box for a two-tier cake. The top part didn’t have a cover and the only support is the base. My sister had to hug the cake, pray and annoyingly remind the driver to not press the brakes too hard for the whole 40 mins. car ride. I am unsure as to why this is not provided since I’ve seen a couple of two-tier cakes in this google review. Did everybody just hug their cake and pray it makes it to the wedding?

We’ve been going to Isa for a while, so when we started planning our wedding, she was honestly our first and only choice. Yes, her pastries are out of this world and I could wax poetic on them - specifically the sweet potato one, look if you know you know - but this review is for the absolute masterpiece of a wedding cake that she put together for us. Because we’re long standing customers, we actually ended up doing both the spring/summer and the fall/winter tasting boxes. There is no wrong answer here, every single cake she makes is delicious, but we ended up going with the pretty traditional almond raspberry with the raspberry jam. It’s sweet, it’s decadent, and it was a huge hit with our guests. And god, just look at it! So beautiful! 100% worth it, choose Isa and Three Bites for all your pastry and cake needs!

The Refectory Restaurant offers an upscale dining experience with a focus on classic French cuisine and an extensive wine selection. Housed in a former church, the restaurant boasts soaring ceilings and stained-glass windows, creating a unique and elegant atmosphere. With over 40 years of history, it has received numerous awards for its exceptional food and service, making it one of the best places to dine in Columbus.
Dinner at this restaurant was a fantastic experience. From the start, our waitress, Michelle, was awesome. She was extremely professional yet down to earth, easy to talk to, and always made sure we were taken care of all the way down to even replacing my girlfriends wine glass without prompt because “it wasn’t polished to her liking”. The food was fantastic, presented beautifully, cooked perfectly, and seasoned in a way in which it’s impossible to imagine it being prepared any better. The wine pairing was fantastic, the gentleman that brought out the wines gave brief yet informative descriptions of each wine before pouring. We ended up buying 2 bottles to take home with us. The experience overall was the best we’ve ever had at any restaurant. Private, intimate, romantic, upscale and overall relaxing and enjoyable. We will be back soon.

I came here to celebrate my birthday, and The Refectory did not disappoint. Every plate was beautifully presented and full of flavor—elegant without being fussy. The bisque was rich, the ratatouille vibrant, and the sea bass absolutely perfect. They even brought out a personalized dessert with a candle—small gesture, big impact. Service was thoughtful, the ambiance felt special, and the night was unforgettable. Definitely recommend for a celebration or a quiet, elevated night out.

Omega Artisan Bakery is a bakery located in North Market in Columbus, Ohio that specializes in hand-made breads, croissants, pastries, cakes, pies and savory goods like ham and cheese croissants and pepperoni rolls. Their regular offerings are supplemented by special limited run baked goods which change with the seasons.
Walked over to North Market this morning to grab a breakfast pastry and discovered Omega's cinnamon roll. It was buttery, delicious and still warm, even after walking it back home; would highly recommend. Addendum after reading other reviews: While I can't speak to all of Omega's staff, the employee who waited on me was incredibly kind and helpful. She even made sure to warn me to be careful of the middle of the cinnamon roll, as they were fresh out of the oven.

As a new resident of Columbus, I was struggling to find a bakery that offered quality artisan breads. But then I discovered Omega Artisan Bakery, and I have to say, it did not disappoint. The star of the bakery is undoubtedly the rosemary focaccia, which is unlike anything else I have tried in Columbus so far. It is simply amazing, and I highly recommend giving it a try. Additionally, the bakery offers a great selection of artisan breads, all of which are baked to perfection. Overall, I am so glad I found Omega Artisan Bakery. Bangin' blueberry pecan muffin. The mixed berry scone was a bit more drop biscuit than scone but tasty. Croissants would make a good sandwich but a bit solid on their own. That said, I enjoyed it all and will be back.
Ken T — Google review
I'm not from around town, so I've only stopped by here a few times. The focaccia is delicious. The sourdough was good, but wasn't very sour. I honestly wasn't sure that what I was given WAS sourdough, but the lady over the counter assured me it was. But the pastries are amazing. Unfortunately, I also have to say something about their customer service. The last reviewer before me was 100% correct. Some of the people who work here do have an attitude, but I really don't think they are being purposefully rude. It's just their personality. This isn't the sort of experience you get from other local business in area, that's for sure. But they sure do make the best pastries. And my family absolutely loves their brownies. It's why I keep coming back whenever I am in town.
Megan H — Google review
I have to agree with many of the previous reviews - the food is amazing but the service can be very off putting. I was near downtown so made a special trip - through bad traffic - to get some of their amazing chocolate cheesecake. Got there about 2:00 on a Saturday to be told they were closing early. I previously stopped by a few weeks ago and they were closed as well. I asked if they had special hours posted and was told no, they just close “sometimes”. To make matters worse, someone came up at that point and was given 3 bags of food - the counter person said “just settle up with the manager the next time you’re here since you’re a regular”. Since I was standing right there I asked if I could just get a couple of pieces of cheesecake (that was sitting right there) and that I could pay cash and didn’t need change. Was told that they were closed and really couldn’t serve anyone. As if I didn’t just see you serve someone. I have never been so insulted. Would hate to think that race had anything to do with it but can’t help but notice how extremely friendly he was to his white customer and how rude he was to me. Didn’t get any explanation why he served someone else or any type of apology or appreciation that I wished to make a purchase. Will give them the benefit of the doubt but the optics of this were horrible. See other reviews of terrible service and hope they give bad service across the spectrum. Will have to consider if the outstanding food is worth supporting the questionable service practices. Updated my review to 3 stars. The product really is outstanding and the owner sent an email detailing the special circumstances that day and sincerely apologizing for my experience.

Chouette is a new addition to the vibrant dining scene in Columbus, located at the corner of Gay and High. Despite its upscale ambiance and white tablecloths, it offers reasonable prices for the impeccable service and high-quality food it provides. It's an ideal spot for date nights or business deals after office hours. The restaurant boasts a unique atmosphere with well-crafted cocktails, infused water, and excellent food.
We rarely give 5 stars but this place is fabulous. It was the perfect evening to sit outside on the patio but the inside is beautiful. Our server was knowledgeable, helpful and when I couldn't decide on a cocktail, asked the bartender to create one. We love French food and it was fabulous. From the steak tartare and chicken liver mousse to the coq au vin and the trout, it was so so good. You can't go wrong with any of the desserts. We had the creme brulee and the apple tart. Delicious. Highly recommend. We'll definitely be back.
Troy S — Google review
I was beyond excited to try this place for the first time. As of today, I have dined twice at Chouette. The food in my opinion is phenomenal. The portions your receive for the price point is appropriate and even generous in some cases. The duck is exceptional and leaves almost nothing to be desired. The starters and side dishes are also winners from what I’ve had the chance to try, and again, would say are priced appropriately. The service I’ve have had has been good. Nothing so exceptional as to have made the experience on its own, but good. The waitress and the bar staff are friendly, trained to explain the menu, and offer decent table service. The pacing and timing could be improved upon, but nothing so bad as it ruins the experience. The only real downfall is the atmosphere. Lack of a vestibule, lack of ambient lighting, very close together tables make it a little bit rough to really enjoy the full experience the food, service, and beverage program have to offer.

Ate here for restaurant week. They offered a great menu special and delicious drinks for a really good price. We got the beat salad, and Caesar, and the Rainbow trout and NY strip for our entrees. Portions size was the perfect amount of food. I wouldn’t expect anything less from. French bistro. The salads were delicious and the NY strip was also tender and delicious. The rainbow trout was good but I could have done without the mountain of croutons on top. I didn’t prefer the crunch texture with the fish. But the fish was tender and cooked perfectly. For desert we got the mouse. Great ending to the meal. Rather than a rich chocolate; it was a dark chocolate mouse with an espresso taste. It was a very good choice for a semi-sweet desert that was not too rich. Overall great food, great atmosphere, great service. DJ took very good care of us and was extremely attentive. I know there were some iffy reviews out there when they first opened but I’m excited to see things have gotten better! Very excited to come back to try their regular menu and other dishes that folks are raving about.

Great experience right off high and gay. Wait staff was phenomenal and very attentive. Food was fresh and hot each time. Cocktails were strong. No complaints, highly recommend!

This was our second visit to Chouette and it’s fast becoming our favorite! We got the steak tartare and I got the pasta. Both were amazing! The service was great and the atmosphere is a very cool vibe.

Where do I start??? I was left in shock last night. I was expecting good food and good atmosphere, but never would I have expected this place to make one of my top 10 restaurants ever. Everything was just absolutely perfect. I’ll go one by one, we started with the Escargot De Bourgogne, which you have to order in any French restaurant you go to. It’s always a must. Then we ordered the Applewood Smoked Bacon Tarte Flambe which is a good appetizer to share. One of us ordered the Salade Lyonnaise which they said was great. I ordered the steak tartare as my main. I wasn’t expecting it to be that good (I was just trying to hit my protein) and it ended up being incredible. Two of us had the Authentic Bouillabaisse Marseillaise, the mussels indeed the soup were amazing. We also shared the Rainbow Trout Grenobloise which was a surprisingly big fish filet for a trout. Last but not least we shared my favorite of the night (The Cauliflower Steak) Oh My Goodness was this good. Idk what on earth made that thing so good, but I would literally travel back to Columbus JUST for that Cauliflower Steak. For dessert we had the Fraises Melba, if you come you have to order this as the dessert. It’s what everyone orders and with good reason. We had the honor of meeting the chief of kitchen Guadalupe or “Lupe” and he was incredible. We talked for a good 30 minutes and his kindness made the experience so much better. Also special mention for Alejandro our waiter for being able to perfectly manage my dad’s hangryness. We also had a great experience with Alejandro. Thank you Chouette, will definitely visit again.

Celebrated my graduation dinner with my family at Chouette and absolutely loved it. They accommodated my party of 10 and even got 2 booster seats for my niece and nephew. The food was phenomenal. Highly recommend the pasta with lobster and truffle. The service was spot on. All of the staff members and servers are kind and know the menu well. The manager, Asdren greeted us with a hug and welcomed us to our large cozy table. The atmosphere is chic, romantic and of course, French! 10/10. Our favorite restaurant in Columbus, by far! Every time we have been to this restaurant we’ve had a wonderful experience. The drinks, food, atmosphere and service are unlike anywhere else. We even ended the night with a crème brûlée dessert with a candle. They really know how to make you feel special. Thanks for helping us celebrate! We can’t recommend this place enough.

We were super excited to go to Chouette and were really hoping to give them a five-star. However, the wait was the issue, and the pacing felt a bit off. It took about 10 minutes for our server to acknowledge us, and once we ordered drinks, they took another 15-20 minutes to arrive. One of our appetizers came out before the drinks, and then we waited another 15 for the second one. The food itself was solid. For appetizers we ordered the gougères, which were light and fluffy, and the silky smooth chicken liver mousse, that really lived up to the name and it was perfectly balanced with the saltiness of the bread. For mains, we had the Authentic Bouillabaise Marseillaise and the Celentani Pasta, and Ratatouille as a side dish. Both were super flavorful, rich and satisfying. For dessert, we ordered the Fraises Melba and it was delicious! We might give it another try in the future.

Turkish restaurant
Tulip Café is a small Turkish restaurant in Columbus that offers delicious delicacies such as manti, doner kebabs, borek, simit and pistachio baklava. The restaurant is run by two Turkish women and attracts customers with its diverse menu.
Tulip Cafe is such a cozy spot! The Turkish coffee is absolutely amazing- rich, smooth, and full of flavor. They also have a great variety of other coffees, so there’s something for everyone. The pastries are delicious too, both the sweet and savory ones taste super fresh, and there’s always something new to try. And I can’t forget the Turkish delights… they’re so good and pair perfectly with the coffee! Overall, this place has quickly become one of my favorites. Great coffee, tasty treats, and a welcoming vibe. Definitely worth a visit!

Came here with a group of 8 ladies for breakfast. The owner was so kind and welcoming, immediately started serving us tea as we looked at the menu. The food didn’t take that long to come considering how many of us there were. The customer service was so excellent I will definitely be coming again! If you come for breakfast I recommend going early! It definitely gets busy

Tulip Cafe now has expanded/renovated their space and there is so much seating! We enjoyed the Manti(Turkish dumplings), lahmacun (bread with beef, rolled with veggies and lemon), and a chocolate Turkish delight. The food was so fresh and tasted homemade. Since it was our first time there, the person working there explained the menu in detail and was super helpful.

Our school had desserts catered from here and I've wanted to go visit for a while. When I heard they expanded I decided it was time to go in person. The shop was clean and cute! Menus were easy to read and staff was friendly. The manti were good for lunch but the Turkish Delight I took home for dessert blew me away! The flavor combos were stunning, like rose pomegranate, orange pistachio, lemon hazelnut coconut. Well worth the $7 price tag.

First time here and already cannot wait to go back! I had a Turkish Delight, Turkish Tea, & Manti — all of it DELISH! The cafe itself is so welcoming and the people were so kind. I couldn’t wait to say all the good things. I will see you guys soon!

I stopped in today to get coffee and a treat to go. There was a wide variety of baked goods, so I asked one of the owners to suggest her favorite. She suggested the hazelnut and cinnamon cookie, and I swear it might be the best thing I've ever eaten. My mom's birthday is coming up and I will definitely be getting one of these cookies for her. The women there were very friendly and patient. I appreciate them taking the time to help me pick out something I would enjoy.

Delicious food that taste fresh and home cooked. We had the menemen, some boreks, flavored coffees, chocolate hazelnut chocolate baklava, dubai cheesecake, and pide, and they're all 10/10. Everything was amazing but dubai chocolate cheesecake was my very favorite. I'll be dreaming about it until ny next visit! Service, food, atmosphere, cleanliness, all get 10/10 and i totally recommend trying this place!
