So many food choices! It's worth stopping and enjoying the cuisine. Summer days make the outside lively with folks enjoying food, drinks, and ice cream. Inside, there is a primary bar and another for non-alcoholic drinks, and on warm days you'll find more seating. Pick from a variety of food, some Danish but many others too.

We loved it here - great food options for all tastes including vegetarian and vegan. There was cuisine from across the world as well as Danish food and some nice bars and coffee shops. We visited during the day when it was child friendly and there was plenty of space available.

Excellent food hall located close to the main train station with so many different food options available. I had the falafel wrap from “Zaatar” and it was good. Personally the bread was a bit too flakey for my liking, but still good and the portion generous. Recommended!!

Perfect place to try different cuisines in Aarhus. They have many stalls like Mexican, Indian, Korean, Japanese, Thai, Middle East and many more. There is indoor and outdoor free seating available. The place is self serve and very functional. Must try: Thai curry, Nachos, Falafel wrap, Japanese Bao and Savory crepes.

Aarhus Street Food is a fantastic concept that brings a diverse array of cuisines under one roof, creating a vibrant, multicultural dining experience right in the heart of the city. The atmosphere is lively, with friendly staff and plenty of seating, making it an ideal spot for locals and visitors alike to enjoy a wide variety of flavors. Its central location also makes it easily accessible, whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or meeting up with friends. I had the chance to sample dishes from Japanese, Middle Eastern, and British stalls, and each one delivered on quality and taste. It’s clear that a lot of attention goes into ensuring each dish feels authentic and satisfying. From fresh ingredients to carefully prepared spices, every dish offered something unique and flavorful. One area that could improve the experience, however, is the payment system. While you can order online from all stalls on the same website, payment still has to be made separately at each stall’s counter. This makes the process slower and a bit inconvenient, especially during busy times. Having an option to pay online as well as order would streamline the experience, making it quicker to pick up your food. For example, at Wolf Food Hall in Brussels, which I recently visited, both ordering and paying could be done online, which enhanced the experience significantly and encouraged people to try even more dishes. All in all, Aarhus Street Food is a must-visit for anyone in Aarhus who wants to explore a variety of flavors in one spot, and with a few adjustments to the payment process, it could become an even more enjoyable dining experience. I’m looking forward to returning and seeing how it continues to evolve!

A MUST VISIT This is a great place to visit. Plenty of small street food cars - lots of choices. We have been here several times, and we always have a good time. They do also have public restrooms - normally nice and clean. There are indoor as well as outdoor seating areas. Definitely a must visit when in Århus.

The place to go when none of your family members/friends can decide on one thing to eat, just go to this place and everyone can order what they want. Once you order at the food stand of your choice you get a buzzer so you can go back outside/to your table and wait until the food is ready. I had been craving korean fried chicken for sooo long on our trip so when I saw that they had it here I was so happy 🥹 + you get actual cutlery and not just plastic ones!

Besides the amazing fine Dining, I realy love the philosofy of this restaurant: “bottom up” Leadership where expertise ook cooks is recognized as true value and moreover the “no waste” vision: go with the catch of the day/season and accellere creativity with cooking on what is available. What an incredible culinary journey. You’re welcomed to the restaurant with a full explanation of their sustainability initiatives and surprise 5-course menu. The courses change regularly, but our were: the snacks, beef tartare, white asparagus, cod cake, wagyu beef, rubarb desert. All of the dishes were extremely unique and well described by our servers. Highlights for me included the mini hot dog included in the snack, the beef tartare which was creamy and tender, and the wagyu beef which melted in your mouth. The wine pairing was also fantastic and I would highly recommend it. The servers were VERY generous with their continuous pours throughout the night which was greatly appreciated. Lastly, all the servers were super kind and informative. It’s no surprise this restaurant has a Michelin green star and I wouldn’t be surprised if they had a red one soon.

Thank you for the most wonderful evening! The Hærværk team is passionate about culinary experience and using the local resources respectfully. This was tangible in every course and we absolutely enjoyed being surprised by every course. We were so lucky to meet one of the chefs, Rune, who discussed the core temperature of celery with us and how to turn a delivery of 150 eggplant into the most delicious filling for pasta. The wine pairing was a great choice and I want to especially point out the superb non-alcoholic pairing with home made juices and kombucha. The apple based kombucha was the most delicious non-alcoholic beverage I’ve ever tasted!

I feel so conflicted about this place. On one hand, the concept is delightful: the menu can vary on a day-to-day basis, depending on what ingredients they get. The menu is a surprise-- you don't get to choose beforehand. They focus on sustainability and low-waste food. The food itself is delicious, although it's the bite-sized food you can expect from such gourmet restaurants. Still you'll savor every bite. The wine choice was fascinating: I've never tasted such delicious and unconventional wines. Every dish and every glass came with a story of how it was sourced, and who produced it. Incredible. All of this is the reason for my conflict. This amazing restaurant kept building up delicious entrée after delicious entrée, and then the main dish was a huge disappointment. At least, it was for me-- my meat-eater colleagues probably got a great bang for their buck. This restaurant fell into the same tired old lazy trope of making the vegetarian dish the same as the meat dish, just without the meat. My friends got what looked like a delicious meat cut, meatballs, and gravy with a quarter of roasted cabbage. Me? I just got a bigger chunk of cabbage in a cheese sauce. Don't get me wrong, it was pretty good. But for a restaurant of this calibre, this price point, which boasts its Michelin stickers all over the restroom, it's extremely lazy, and honestly goes against its claims to sustainability. Vegetarian food is better for the environment than any meat source, regardless of how organic and local the cows are. Betraying the main vegetarian dish like that is way below what's expected of a place like this. So that's my conflict. On one hand, great concept, great food. On the other hand, the vegetarian dish is lazy and felt like the only thought behind it was "oh crap we have to have a veggie alternative, I guess they like cabbage right? Yeah more cabbage for them then". The dessert was really damn good though.

We loved our experience at Hærværk. You can tell that they spend a lot of time and attention into preparing each dish and it pays off. They serve their own take on new Nordic cuisine and it was simply delicious.

It was our first Michelin starred restaurant experience and will go down as one of our most cherished memory The attention to detail from plating to drink pairings, while the staff explains to you how, where and why the ingredients were sourced, they almost envisualise for you a journey of the food until it hits your palate. This is fine dining at its best, and if you want to experience masters of their craft, this is where you go. My hat tip to the entire staff and chef, keep up the good stuff

If you’re into fine dining then this is definitely a must visit. The atmosphere and environment has a very cozy home style feeling to it which is what they are aiming for. The service is impeccable. It’s quite an experience. We had a 14 dish with 8 wine pairing dinner. It lasted about 4.5hours. The reason why I’m giving it a 4 star is that for some reason halfway through the dishes coming out were really salty. The dishes in the first half were amazing. It’s a shame because everything else was great.

Over the years I've been to a few starry restaurants, and this one here is one of the best. I predict a second star is coming soon! Everything was impeccable from interior and atmosphere, through service and friendliness all the way to food and drink. I didn't lack anything at any point throughout the entire seating, and absolutely everything was a pleasure to digest. If the opportunity arise I would love to go again. Highly recommend.

One of a kind service and experience in a restaurant that only uses local (non imported at all!) produce. Visited in April and were lucky enough to be the only ones there so had the full attention of the lovely team. The lumpfish course was amazing. Also especially loved the care they put into their non-alcoholic pairings. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

Very good restaurant in Aarhus with one Michelin Star. Unusual in that it only uses ingredients sourced from within Denmark; so, for instance, no pepper but locally grown alternatives. We had the short nine course menu with wine pairings all of which was excellent (obviously the wine is imported from outside Denmark!)

Disappointed ... the food was just ok . The flavors did not pair well and were too bland in some dishes . The fish had bones and the cheese course had a very strong sour taste that we did not enjoy . The service was super slow and not attentive. Not worth the price and the waiting. Many things to be improve from the kitchen and service. Bread and dessert were great thought!

It was a special experience, the restaurant is in a hidden place. The snacks were quite surprising me, the concept to put the bread as a snack which I didn’t understand but it’s ok. They are using some fermented foods during the service, I did like them, if someone doesn’t like the sour taste, it might be disturbed.

Substans was one of our top dining experiences in Denmark-Sweden trip. It is located in the revitalized waterfront harbor area. It has a beautiful view and modern interior, for some reason the view enhanced our taste buds capacity as well. The staff of five worked in both the kitchen and dining area, and they were all excellent! The food presentation was wonderful, and the place offered a good balance between traditional Nordic foods, modern culinary approach and ingredients sourcing. it didn't disappoint us for choosing the place among the options we had!

Really lovely experience. Great location with an unbelievable view. Nice and warm service. Great food and very embracing expressions of taste. The 4 of us liked everything. You are feeling nursed and welcomed throughout the evening. No rush, just pleasant. The only thing i would like to see at step up on is the wine menu. There was definitely good ones in the bunch but i would like to see a higher level on some of them.

The food was outstanding; fresh flavors with great intensity, and the portions were perfect - every one of us walked away perfectly satisfied after 15 courses. The interior makes it feel like you’re sitting in the home of Substans, making it very relaxed. Service is great, they were kind but not so personal. There were a few misses along the way but overall, we were really happy.

Very friendly staff, they spoke multiple languages which is helpful if a tourist. Cappuccino and almond croissant were excellent! Atmosphere is relaxing, very zen with a beautiful view of the cobblestone street and Bishop Square steeple!

Very nice coffee or lunch stop when visiting Aarhus! Really yummy coffee, sandwiches, and pastries! The place might seem busy from outside, but we found plenty of seating inside. With two we ordered an iced latte, a cardemon iced latte, two sandwiches with cheese, and one seasonal pastry to share. All came to our table really quickly after ordering. Delicious!

I walked in and was met with a relaxing atmosphere. Once I ordered the wait was a bit longer than what I'm used to at other coffee shops. But the wait was worth it. It's got to be one of, if not the best coffee I've ever had. The music is relaxing and the staff are really kind. Would recommend 👍

Awesome tea (green sencha tea) and buns (I think it was called kardemommesnurre, see photo)! I ordered at the counter, and they prepared the tea and brought everything to my table. The bun was delicious, soft, freshly made, tasty, moist, everything was perfect. The tea was wonderful, it tasted exactly like I would expect expertly-made high-quality sencha tea taste like; plenty of flavor and not at all bitter. Nice lively neighborhood, lots of people on the street, but the cafe was nevertheless not fully packed, it was easy to find a place to sit and everything was smooth and quick and very friendly.

Gastromé is a 100% total delight. 🤩🤩🤩 I have had the pleasure to visit twice - and is a MUST visit please in Eastern Jutland Region of Denmark. The service starts the second you pass the doorstep and stays and 💯 until you leave again.

One to travel to. Fantastic meal made more impressive by them only being 3 people in the kitchen which is just mind-blowing. They are fully up there with the best on the food front. We had pescatarian versions menu and the two "replacement dishes" were above and beyond expectations. Service was excellent and swift which is important for us as we eat quickly. We changed menu from signature to full throttle the day before we arrived and my boyfriend then changed back when we had already started our meal. No problem. Really just fantastic all around.

We felt at home from the minute we stepped into the restaurant, and had an amazing evening with the Halv Gas serving. Exceptional food prepared with fine techniques that tasted amazing from the first to the very last bite. Very friendly and attentive servers that made the whole experience. We will definitely go back to Gastromé, but next time it will be to taste the Fuld Gas or the Signature menu.

It is an okay place. We were just by ourselves for lunch. Chanterelle amuses was good. And the starter fish with roses was also good. I think Danish counts the amuses as courses. So they said 6, but was really just 3 courses. bit pretentious. I wont come back.

Certainly one of the best restaurants in Aarhus 👍 loved most of the dishes and they were certainly at the level I would expect from a Michelin starred restaurant. The waiters were all very enthusiastic, engaged, capable and very likable. We will certainly come back for a second serving next time we are I Aarhus.

Delicious freshly made mexican food- This was the vegan jackfruit wrap. Small inside, only one table. Staff very friendly.

We order to take away and to be honest was the first and last time I’m going to this place. The burrito is basically rice it doesnt really matter what the menu says it only taste bland and sad. The guacamole was worse somehow that store bought. Would not repeat

I order food from here 3 years ago and it wasn't good. Today I decided to give it another shot and let me tell you .. still the same. The burritos are not even close to 'mexican' food. the guacamole was literally GROSS, and the nachos seem cheap ones, when they cost like 40 kr. The churros were the most decent thing but still not super good.I wish I could get my money back because literally the food was not good AT ALL. I never leave reviews but this was so bad I have to.

The burrito was very average. The ingredients were not really well seasoned and the tortillas were very poor quality. I have to say that it is very bad that this is only place in Aarhus where you can eat Mexican food because lot of people love this type of food. And I wish this restaurant was at least decent.

Hit and miss. Their quality at this point with the food is too inconsistent for me to want to keep ordering. They've too many times mixed non-vegan ingredients into the vegan food, and had the food taste just off, and once entirely tasting spoiled and inedible. If you're dining in person and can complain directly to the kitchen it can work, but not sure it's worth it if you're ordering out. Real shame since it's been quite good many times, but bad too often. Really a shame knowing their potential. The chicken pieces are usually solid at least.

Very disappointed. The burrito was pretty burned and contained a very sweet sauce. Not spicy at all, even though I had ordered it. The tacos contained raw (!) white cabbage. Seriously.

Perfect location for a 3 course meal. We loved the starter and the desert. The main course was less good but still enjoyable. The service was very friendly. We came around 19:00 and got a table without reservation, although the restaurant appeared to be rather full. Great location for everyone who loves seafood!

the food was phenomenal🥰🥰the service was great. the selection of options is very various; they offer a seasonal menu, and a daily fish position, from which we chose the salmon. also its nice that they serve brunch until 16:00.

I am sure the pizza can better because I have been eating in the winter. Unfortunately the pizza that I ordered last Saturday wasn’t the best. It’s the pizza of the month, the dough wasn’t very well cooked, too much stracciatella that completely liquified and extremely salty. The price also is too high. I will try again but maybe avoiding the monthly pizza experiments

We went for the first time and it was not a great experience as we expected for the prices. The 3 course menu was fine, but nothing amazing. We had to wait more that half an hour between meals and ask for the desert twice. Waitress were fine, they explained us all menus. Really didn't make much sense for the price we paid.

Mediocre experience . Nice location. The ceasar salad was very tasty but the main dishes mediocre at best. The waiter was friendly but forgot to order the main dishes until I came and reminded him.

We were recommended this restaurant by the hotel concierge. It’s right around the corner from where we were staying and the area it’s in is quite nice. The place looks great and when we were invited to dine in the garden we were pleasantly surprised at the cozy environment there. Sadly the food and service let it down. The wait staff were great but our mains took a long time to arrive. Our waitress even deducted our drinks from the bill to compensate for the long wait. The kids had fish and chips which were pretty good. I ordered the lemon sole which is probably the worst I’ve ever had. It was so oily and the fish was probably over cooked.

Extremely good! Very nice staff, good atmosphere and nicely decorated. Like the good apace between tables for privacy. The food was excellent (lunch) and very cheap per dish. Each dish cost the same just pick what you want and can eat. The only thing was the pace. It went too quick but when we asked for a slower pace they adapted. I would definitely go here again. A great experience all over which I seriously recommend.

I visited in Nordisk Spisehus in March 2018 and I'm only just getting round to writing a review but the meal will never leave my mind. My girlfriend and I visited for my 25th birthday and opted for the 5 courses, alongside some other accompaniments and a very nice glass of champagne. The menu has since changed but I wanted to highlight just how skilful the cooking is. At the time the menu had been jointly composed with Restaurant Daniel (New York, **). The experience is helpfully supported by a booklet so you can remember each dish! One of the most amazing dishes I've ever had was the Quail - Broccoli - Port - and a photograph is attached. I asked the waiter to talk me through how it had been prepared and all I can say is wow (partly because it was so complex I forgot half of it immediately). For me, this is why you go to restaurants - dishes you can't replicate in the home easily, if at all.

Nice service, truly great food, god beers and wine. If You are looking for a above average lunch or a night out with gourmet food, this place will be a good pick. The prices match the level of cooking.

We enjoyed a great lunch with a group of 31 people. The service was great, friendly,very flexible, and taking that step extra to make your experience fantastic. Well deserved visit, your getting creed by the host and the kitchen team. The service is absolutely on point with everything going smooth and keeping you well informed, never empty glasses, always fresh clean table, no interruptions. They are there for the guests to enjoy each other's company. The food is less decoration plates with more focus on, elegance, quality and taste, especially the first 3 hand served food.

Nice restaurant located near the Marselisborg Deer Park and the Marselisborg Castle. We were seated near the window, so we had a beautiful view of the grass patch while eating. Food was well-executed.

Outstanding dining... Beyond our expectations, which was already pretty high. Highly recommended. I'm really proud that we have a place like frederikshøj in Aarhus. It is the beacon of the highest level in gastronomy. The service was warm and really pleasant. Everyone was nice and performed very well. The servings were something that would be hard to describe without tasting. Simply perfection both visually and on the palate. This was the case for most of the dishes we got. Food was good, not great. I’ve had better-tasting food in 1 Michelin star restaurants, in fact even ones without. Perhaps it’s the asian taste profile. But i will not take away from the experience. It’s still worth a try.

Very good and beautiful food

We had food at Frederikshøj for a 60th Birthday with a party of 10 people. I asked the sommelier attending our tables when would be the best time to hold speeches and was told that there are only 3 possibility slots, because dishes would be"flying out of the kitchen, back to back without breaks". Unfortunately the reality couldn't be further from the truth. We could have easily held speeches between each dish and not have such a fus among the other guests about waiting periods! Even after continuous asking the sommelier what the hold up is or when can the next speech be held without disrupting the kitchen, nothing but empty promises. My humble opinion, if I reach out to consider the kitchens goals of having a smooth delivery of dishes, then you should stick to your end of the bargain. Disrespectful service at best, event ruining at worst! I guess you can assume the outcome based on my rating...

This is a very small restaurant with fabulous food, service, and warmth. Each dish is explained in detail when served. The best salad and hangar steak I've ever had. Our waitress Maria was very helpful with my food allergies. Definitely a must for dinner! 2024 Michelin Award Restaurant for a reason!!

The restaurant has a nice staff, cosy og a clean toilets. The food tastes good, but the prices are very expensive to the amount that you are given! In the photos, this is the amount that were given, sharing of 3 adults except the dessert.

Pondus is a hidden gem next to the canal in Aarhus. We loved it! The ”Bistro style place, specializes in farm to table with primarily organic/Danish ingredients. The tasting menu featured five courses all paired well with flavorful wines. The price is spot on with the service and quality of meal. The menu changes seasonally and the chef is accommodating for vegetarians and pescetareans. The standout appetizers and the braised free range pork belly and fried turbot tacos were outstanding! The service and knowledgeable staff really made the evening enjoyable. Pondus earns my five stars and glad to see a Michelin Bib Gourmand.

Nice, creative food that was well explained in English by staff. The guineafowl was delicious! I didnt get his name but the waiter was a cool guy too and gave me some good recommendations for bars.

Whenever we visit Aarhus for a city break, we always make sure that one dinner will be at Pondus. Our experience dining here have been great. The menu choices for food and wine, the service, the price - you couldn't find another restaurant with that consistency in quality through the years.

I love the internal coherency in most of the servings as well as most of the cocktails - not to forget the coherency between the food and the offered cocktails. Love it! I would love to give five stars in general but the high chairs in the front room where we dined are not suitable for a four hour sitting.

If you are looking for high end drinks this is a good place to go. Prices are pretty expensive, but also rather fair for What you get. Super drinks in taste and look. The interior is modern with respect for the old building. Cosy in the evening. Service was superb - hence making it a good experience all in all.

It feels exclusive, but in a subdued, almost shy way. A kind of confidence that has no need to show off. The staff displays remarkable expertise, especially when it comes to wine, it’s a sanctuary, and the servers are its high priests. They know what they are doing 100% great staff, location and delicious food and wine. We went for a la carte menu but great offers on set menu, I will highly recommend this place. Excellent restaurant well deserving of its bib gourmand in the Michelin guide. Chefs are cooking some great food! I thought the price for their tasting menu was excellent value. 3 snacks, couple of starters, main and desert. All really high quality and pretty much faultless. Service was exceptional, and super friendly. I’d love this place on the corner of my neighbourhood!!

Great time at Møf. Ordered the signature menu with wine. The front of house team notified us that they were slightly understaffed this evening, perhaps only noticeable by the reuse of wine glasses (i.e. sparkling and white in the same glass) and some different plates during the starter. Why the Michelin 2025? you enter the restaurant and immediately recognize the "fatty" and sticky air. the food was not tasteful enough, the portions were ridiciously small (Maincourse fish). Service was OK but nothing special. It was our 4th evening in Aarhus with a small group and the 3rd disappointing experience. Reak Shame!

Excellent food. However the waiter did not know how to pour wine in the glass without dropping it, and he got spotted our coat in multiple locations of red wine. Waiters should have some training on this, or shall let the consumers to pour wine themselves. PS waiter did not use a cloath when pouring the wine, and managed to drip for all four glasses.

Buzzing with life this small gem offers a wide variety of food. However, the prices are a bit to the expensive side and it's often difficult to find a place to sit. The atmosphere is easy going and this place seems to be a popular place before a night out. We're able to recommend the pizza and the tapas.

We arrived and were given a table straight away. The waiter asked us where we were from and even spoke our language (German). He gave us a shot of schnapps. The food was plentiful and very tasty. The side dishes were replenished as required. I would definitely come back again.

Staff are very welcoming and funny. They gave us a lot of space to think before taking orders and to wait between courses, didn't urge us to pay the check and leave. The food here was absolutely delicious. You could feel the cooks knew what they were doing, and each dish was well-thought-out. We got both the vegetarian and the regular menu, and the vegetarian version was so good that it might’ve been better than the regular menu. They definitely got the different flavours perfectly balanced. The service wasn't that great. There was a long pause in service without us knowing, and some of the wine glasses seemed dirty. The waiters were alright, but they didn't seem interested in being there. Further, the atmosphere was okay but not anything special. Where we sat, we could hear yelling in the kitchen, which is never nice for a customer. This might just be unfortunate, but nevertheless, our experience. Overall, the food was the main attraction for the restaurant. If all you care about is the food, this place is absolutely amazing!

Food was great and everything was local, friendly staff. The seating area was nice. We took the 4-course menu. The hostess took the time to explain every dish both in Danish and English. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Small restaurant with friendly stuff. We were 3 and ordered the special 5-servings menu of the week. Presentation was good, ingredients quality was fine. We felt however that the taste didn't match the looks. The bread was really good, and the main dish (flat meat) was also pretty good. The rest was a bit dissapointing, lacking taste. There were a couple of interesting combinations, but theflavor was too weak. All in all the "price-quantity-taste" balance was not quite there.

We've had a wonderful experience here. I was able to reserve a table online and the staff read the comment I had left with that and they already had a menu suggestion prepared for us to get a taste of true Danish food. The food was delicious, the service outstanding and even though we came in super late, we were still asked if we wanted dessert. We were 11 people who were fortunate to have served foie gras, confit duck and apple with marcipan ice cream. We got recommended wines and nice coffee. We sat in the wine cellar and got a great deal of service. Thank you for a clean gourmet evening with lots of goodness. We will be back.

Nice place but very cramped, not ideal for a dinner date with your SO. Adittionally watch what you order, though we're at fault we overpaid by a lot for a menu item despite the menu already being quite price as some dishes have added prices up to 110kr, so what would have been a dish for 160- ish ended up costing 270, which it is NOT WORTH. Save yourself some trouble and eat somewhere else, the food isn't worth the price or the wait. Staff are nice though.

No reservation, just walked in, friendly warm welcoming. Fast and informative service with no stress. Short menu, no fancy over priced dishes, well prepared, aim is quality with some small details showing a will to stick out (without experimenting) The starter, mushroom soup was robust, tasty and with a nice touch of truffle oil. I got a extra portion without asking for it (nice service). Main dish, a nice Boeuf Bourguignon, with somewhat to soft mashed potato, making it together with the sauce a bit sloppy. Never the less very tasty. Desert, a chocolate cake with ice cream was on the paper a not so interesting end of a nice dinner. But I was actually, and surprised, impressed by the simplicity of it and balance of the flavours. The house wine, not assessed in detail, although it did good with the strong flavours of the food. The 5 star rating is for the package of the experience - service was good at a dinner not too little and not to much, with a very reasonable price for a enjoyable dinner, 250 DKK. (Wine excluded)

An excellent brunch-offering - everything I sampled was tasty, and there's free refills on basically every part of it. There's also enough food there to fill mostly anyone up WITHOUT any refills, but it's still a nice policy - just in case there's some part of the platter you particularly fall in love with!

I was really looking forward to the brunch because it was a surprise for my girlfriend, who had a birthday that day. We did not like the taste of the food. My brunch could have been better, the tastes of the meal were weird. I have never experienced not liking food this much, I love food, and I eat everything, that is why I decided to write the review. However, still, it might be good for others. My girlfriend had a salad with shrimps. A salat for 170kr with the smallest size shrimps was a very weird combination (cheese on top of it). You might like the food, but if you are not used to it, it might not be a lovely experience. The staff behaved well.

Made a reservation and wrote in the remarks field that we would come with our dog since we were on holiday. I asked if that was a problem, and if so to tell me before we arrived. The reservation was confirmed without remarks. When we arrived, they told us dogs were not allowed. So we had to look for another restaurant.

We went for our anniversary dinner and it was very lovely. The food tasted amazing and was served nicely. The atmosphere was nice, but the music could have been more relaxing. They have vegetarian options and attentive staff. My boyfriend doesn't eat seafood and that was also accommodated. Would recommend eat dinner here. Food was tasty and will eat here again.

An overall great dining experience at SYV NI 13. The service was quick, friendly, and knowledgeable. All the dishes were tasty, but only a couple of them and the bread really stood out. It was missing a little 'je ne sais quoi' to reach a perfect rating.

Had a wonderful lunch at Syv Ni Tretten in Aarhus! We tried the beef tartare and the smoked white fish salad — both were delicious and beautifully presented. The fish itself was a bit salty for my taste, but when combined with the salad it balanced out perfectly. You can really tell how much thought goes into each element of the dishes. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, and the staff were friendly and attentive. A great spot for a laid-back yet high-quality lunch — we’ll definitely be back should we be in Aarhus again.

We’ve ordered their New Year’s Eve menu and are blown away by the care taken to ensure a great pick up and at-home dining experience! I’ve had brunch and dinner here before but it’s my first time trying their takeaway. The instructions were very thorough and the package comes with carefully labeled food containers and even a QR code for videos and instructions on serving. I’d recommend this place for a NYE takeaway again!

The Spisesalon is centrally well located in the city centre just a short walk from the train station, ideal if you want breakfast or brunch before travelling on. The restaurant itself is pleasant and bright and has bench style seating. A lot of other reviews complained about proximity to other diners, however I did not feel like the chairs were too close. This seating arrangement is more common in larger cities or in busy restaurants so will not be an issue unless you want a more traditional layout. The staff are amazingly friendly and provide service really quickly. We went on a Sunday morning for brunch and ended having the buffet brunch with the free coffee refills as it had a variety of tasty looking dishes. The food was delicious, light and healthy, a perfect way to start the day. The portion sizes are generous and allowed us to be fueled up for most of the day. My only reason not to give the full 5 stars is that I thought the prices were a bit on the higher side.

Went there the other day for lunch and got a shootingstar, which was tasty and in big size. The surroundings is like walking back in a bubble to the 1930/40’s Denmark. It felt very authentic and the staff were friendly and dressed in uniforms matching the surroundings. Will try it again for evening service later.

Got a proper motherfu**ing bøf sandwich here, really big, lots of of everything, but cooked very well. Tasted amazing, had to take it home. Others at my table got the silt and loved it. Very nice staff, and clean area. There is outdoor seating aswell. When we were here there was about 45% capacity filled, but we had reserved about a table ahead, as many times before without reservations it was full. But you can try your luck on a weekday early to get in. I’m not sure how busy it is any other day, we went on a Monday.

When we walked in, I noticed there were a bunch of business men eating then later we found out from a local, this was indeed their lunch spot. Not only that, I guess we stood out from the crowd, a local came up to us and asked us how we found this spot because only locals go here. Guess we found what we were looking for! Traditional danish food! We got a tasting which came with 4 courses and we were sooo stuffed at the end. As an individual who’s never had traditional danish food before, this was really good. The flavors are strong on the herring so if you’re not good with strong smell taste, you might want to pass. The steak dish was really good. It had lots of flavor and it was tender. The old cheese is also pretty strong in fermented flavor so if you’re not good with that, don’t order.

Ok - you want a real Danish lunch? If you're in Aarhus, you have to try this! I did the stjerneskud (traditional Danish fish plate). One of the two best of these I've ever eaten in DK. The cold smoked salmon and the freshly peeled shrimp added a perfect twist to a delicious traditional lunch. With more than 100 years of tradition serving the working men of Aarhus, the portions aren't exactly small. My 16 year old son ordered the beef sandwich with gravy. He had to give up and ask for a doggy bag - proof that these aren't small portions...😀😀😂😂 Atmosphere - so much soul... Service - nothing to put a finger on.

The food was great, so if you love fish, this is a great place to taste various kinds of fish. The tre last dishes were pork and chicken. The first dishes startet cold and then gets warmer. Our experience at Hanzō was overall very positive. The food quality, quantity, price, and variety were great. However, we waited over an hour between the starters and main course; some cocktails were pretty underwhelming; and the table for two felt too small. Providing wet wipes for finger food would also be a nice touch.

Cute restaurant, staff is pretty young. Service was okay- nothing spectacular. The food tasted good, but what I didn’t like was that almost everything was fried in oil. And that is also how I smelled after that restaurant visit all my clothes everything smelled like I had been in a frying pan. The atmosphere of the restaurant was really nice though. Disappointed on my Son’s B’day - Unfair experience! We were a group of four adults, a 10-year-old, and a 2-year-old, visiting to celebrate my son’s birthday. While this was my second time here and the starters were good, they accommodated allergy requests,however the overall experience fell far short of expectations. We had looked forward to the full 10-course experience, but unfortunately, it didn’t happen the way we imagined. Despite arriving on time for our 18:30 reservation and being seated by 18:35, we didn’t receive our main course until 20:45. That’s over two hours of waiting unacceptable, especially with a 2-year-old in the group whose bedtime had already passed. To make matters worse, we noticed that other guests who arrived after us received their mains before we did. This left us feeling overlooked, frustrated, also felt we were treated differently. Eventually, we had to pack our food to go, which completely ruined what was meant to be a special dine-in experience for our family. Some staff apologized, We were offered complimentary drinks, but honestly, a drink doesn’t make up for the lost moments we came to share. We spent 2,000 kr for hanzo experience that ended in takeaway boxes, not the memorable celebration we had hoped for. We expected a lot more from a place like this. Unfortunately, we left feeling let down, ignored, and with a ruined birthday experience for our child.

Convenience, quick, simple and easy! It’s definitely an express Light Meal shop! Some simple sandwiches, juices and salads, but it’s pity that the nice veggie mixture plate is no longer available because of time constraints in the business. In general the taste of food is fine and healthy certainly. The service is nice and price is cheaper than other veggie restaurants.

I tried to get some info about the menu and was charged for the very expensive buffet at 165dkk which was different than what I wanted. I was given a plate for the buffet and saw there was barely anything left and they never refilled the buffet. No cheese, no bread, basically just a couple of boring salads. At least the hummus and dips were good but for the price that was disappointing. I visited on June 14.

I love this spot in town. The jazzy vibe and colours of the place offer a cosy atmosphere. I tried the gluten free bread and was delicious. Hummus as well 💛 If you are around the area it’s a nice place to stop for a coffee and bite 🍽️💓

We were tired of eating all the fancy food and this was just perfect for us to get back to salads and food that's good for your body. We ate about 8 meals there and we enjoyed them. Yes it does feel like a canteen and not like all the other restaurants and we did feel tempted to go elsewhere. I'm glad we didn't.

I ordered a Chai latte, but you could hardly taste the Chai because it was too Milky. It was frustrating to pay 42 kr. For a bad cup. The atmosphere is nice though, and so I would recommend it for something else than the Chai latte. Not too loud, no background music so it is good for studying

Great coffee, cozy environment, but a rather disappointing vegan/vegetarian brunch buffet. Paying 150 kr. (beverages not included), I had hoped for a greater variety of dishes at the buffet and a more observant staff to refill the empty bowls. The food offered was good - though nothing out of the ordinary. I'd visit again, but only for coffee and a piece of cake.

I really want to love this place as a vegan but I have been disappointed the five times I’ve been there. The buffet is definitely overpriced. You can get a soup for the size of your fist for almost the same price for the buffet. It’s a bit absurd, even if it’s organic. They have limited choices for their desserts (if they have any). They were selling the same cake for four days (because rarely anyone would eat it) and the cookies are dry and brittle and a joke. Must have stayed in the jars for who knows how long. The drinks are fine but you can also get the same choices for less other places. When did vegan become synonym for unaffordable? The atmosphere is nice and cozy. But the staff are all a bit spacey, not knowing their menu and are rarely at the register to offer help. I even called just to double check their choices and one of them told me that they had raw cakes not realizing that it was clearly the same not raw cake they’ve had for three days. So disappointing. I’d love to support but there isn’t much to support here. I don’t know, free WiFi I guess? Which I can also get at home. Boo.

Very cozy joint to drink beers inside or outside to enjoy the sun when it is out. Of course there are amazing Mikkeller beers, but also many guest ones to try. Was really happy to have a very friendly and helpful server that was nice enough to give us some travel tips!

Surprisenly quiet for a Friday evening at 7PM. You can taste the beers before you order them. I tried the Viking Shake (stout) and a Mead from USA. I went with the mead since that is not common on most menus. I was very pleased with it.

Probably one of the best places in Aarhus to have a raft beer, knowledgeable staff, very responsive and helpful! Definitively a MUST for Aarhus!

The sandwich was big and good. The coffee was quite bitter. The staff could be a bit friendlier and more efficient. The restaurant was quite dirty (tables and seats were not clean and there was no intention from employes to clean them unless they were specifically asked to do so.) Bathroom was very clean but had too strong a smell of the heavy cleaning utensils.

A very nice place for coffee or salad, smoothie. They have delicious cakes. It’s a slightly more pricy place, but this is Denmark - so everything is more expensive. Otherwise quality of food seems very nice 👍🏼

The atmosphere is wonderful, it's really nice to just sit and look at all of the decorations they have. I liked the pizza a lot, it was and fulfilling, the drinks - a bit overpriced. The service was okay, they forgot to bring us drinks and it was hard to ask a waiter for help since they kept just walking past, but it was a very busy day, so it's understandable, they were nice overall.

The staff is very hostile and unwelcoming. Very dry and boring pizza. Also, the tables are not the most convenient. On the other hand, the fries were okay. Further, the portions are big, hence it is not too expensive, and there is good selection of beer.

We stumbled upon this pizza place in Aarhus, I was with 4 colleagues and we all loved our pizzas, no shortage of toppings! I wish I had taken more pictures of the different pizzas.

This is one of the places that my husband visits whenever he is visiting Aarhus. This is a special places in its own way. I enjoy the food. The chicken pizza is worth trying. Do not expect any cutlery to eat the pizza.

The food is delicious, I've had a chicken club sandwich (this time), the avocado was perfect, so was the ruccola, and the chicken had a very nice taste. The place was a bit dirty, so were the tables, even tho it wasn't rush hour and there were not many customers, therefore I gave only 3 stars.

A cozy restaurant, with an interesting look. You do not run out of things to see, surrounding you. Our server was very kind and nice, but we were met with a longer waiting time of 40-50 minutes, probably due to the amount of customers. The pizza no. 13 we ordered, was too much to be handled with bare hands, so we had to ask for cutlery, which was provided by the kind staff. Pizza had a really tough crust, which made the massive topping handling easier, but it was a rock to bite in. Perhaps the saltyness of an age-dried ham not go well with parmesan aswell. The Latte ordered, looked nothing as a latte should do, so that was quite a disappointment. After all, we left the restaurant with a smile, since the staff was nice and friendly.

Bread cost 84 kr. but they brougth it as if it were complementary, we weren’t told about a price. They were just like hey here’s some bread. We get the bill and are like wait we didn’t order this. The food, wine and servers were good though, so it’s a shame this small thing has to taint the expierience.

We went back 5 months later to try out two main course namely steak and fish. When you order a medium rare steak and the quality is such that you can split it with a fork not the knife, you know that you are in for a treat. When the fish have all the salty flavors remaining to complement the vegetables of the meal together with good wine choices recommended by A happy, engaging staff the result is a happy customer😃

Very nice atmosphere and they have very delicious rhubarb dessert. The main meal for me is a little salty. But I still want to taste different entrees next time.

Been there with my girlfriend for her birthday. The place is really nice, the witresses are very helpful and friendly and the food is amazing. The best sushi I tried so far in Aarhus. It is worth the money 👍

The sushi was really good, fresh fish and vegetables in creative combinations. Excellent sauces. Unfortunately, only white wine served by the glass and no large water bottles to share.

We had the Ai Tempura Ebi menu for two people and it was really great! I especially appreciated the avocado on the sushi since many places use them before they are perfectly ripe but honestly even just the rice in them was amazing. We also got some free cooked and salted Edamame beans as a snack while waiting for the sushi! Bonus pic of lemonade with ginger and fresh mint!

What a great surprise. Better than any sushi I've had in NYC and on par with Japan. Presentation was great and corresponding sauces were great. We did a nigri menu, a roll and then a starter and were full.

Sota’s sushi tastes fantastic and you can really tell that the ingredients used are the best. The atmosphere was great, but pretty dark aside from the display light on the sushi.

The food was very tasty and the staff friendly. The location was nice, clean and very cosy. The prices are decent, a bit pricey but overall it worth it. There is a place where I definitely wanna come back. :)

-At 20:15 they rejected to make a cheese plate for us (you can see that from the receipt, we then paid and left). -The waiter didn’t seem like enjoying his job. Always a good place for a heavy dish of chips n stuff... Their moules fritte is wonderful. Huge portions too and at affordable prices. Quick and easy. Chose and grab your own drinks from the cooler. Student friendly, right in the old town area of the city. Been a while since the last time here, but they kept true to their bistro idea and against change of time. Easy seating, but never loved the high chairs without backs. Kitchy atmosphere and close seating.

We visited OliNico twice, as we were intrigued to try their daily menu. One thing is for certain, this place is busy. We arrived at 7:30pm on the first day and we missed the daily menu, so settled for their classics. This was delicious, but we realised they were in hot demand, so had to come earlier the following day. We managed to get to OliNico by 6pm the following day and were able to enjoy their 3 course daily set menu for only 150dkk (approx £18). The quality was absolutely incredible for the value, and the presentation was sublime. You really need to give this place a try in Aarhus. My tip would be get there early if you want the daily menu!

Beautiful smørrebrød with a good range to choose from. I would also say that the beer is a highlight, and the staff was so helpful in choosing the right ones for us! Definitely delicious, and the place has a lovely atmosphere that combines trendy and rustic. The portion sizes are very good. Best picks were the mushroom and potato smørrebrød, unfortunately i thought the egg one was just slightly lackluster in flavour, but definitely not bad! They were all very tasty.

Great spot for lunch. They had several varieties of Smorrebord (?spelling) to choose from! The serving sizes are generous. Menu was in Danish (staff spoke English - like basically everywhere in Denmark we visited) but nothing Google translate couldn't handle.

I eat here regularly and it's great every single time! The only choices for dinner are the dish of the day and a vegetarian alternative 🐖🥬. The food is made from fresh high quality ingredients cooked in a delicate French inspired cuisine🥐🇫🇷. They also have quite an extensive selection of beer, wine and spirits available 🍷🍺. The atmosphere is cosy and informal, nearly always being filled with costumers 😌. Absolutely essential to visit this local gem 😎.

Great little place with very good food at very decent prices. Low ceiling, random furniture and decor gives the place a cosy living room feel. I had a mushroom toast, a rilette de canard and a a large craft beer for 165 dkr, a very reasonable lunch.

Wonderful experience. Kuk & Co. delivers. The food is awesome and the service even better. Our sommelier changed out a wine that we didn’t like (purely out of personal preference), with a another of much higher quality (and price) without even a second thought. When I praised her pro attitude, her answer was along these lines “When we show up in the morning our most important concern is that when we close in the evening, we know that every single guest leaves with complete satisfaction.” That attitude shines through from the moment you enter until you leave. I would be surprised if a Michelin star isn’t lurking in a not to distant future. I am already looking forward to our next visit to Århus and Ghrelin.

Having tried all the top restaurants in Aarhus, we fell in love with Ghrelin instantly! The food, service, wine and overall experience is one of the best we've had. This restaurant more than levels with all the Aarhus based Michelin restaurants.

My sister and I had invited our mom to Aros. We had booked a table for lunch in the Orangeri. While the atmosphere is very nice, the food is quite bland and ordinary. We ordered the pumpkin soup, which simply tasted of puréed pumpkin, there was no salt, pepper, spice, cream - nothing at alle to "spice" it up. The spinach waffles, were likewise very bland, and tasted of spinach mixed with flour and eggs. Finally, the lunch platter looked very enticing, but likewise lacked flavor, and the ryebread was rather dry. Overall, the food visually very presentable, but as regards taste, it was very bland and not worth the price.

135 kr. for a cold cup of coffee and a sparsely filled brunch plate, you’ll enjoy all of this after 35 mins of ordering on a fairly quiet day 😀

Stillers Coffee feels more like a coffee lab than a typical café, with a very limited selection of food and milk-based drinks. It's perfect for coffee connoisseurs who appreciate the craft, though it lacks a cozy vibe. The ice coffee is also tiny for the price. An interesting experience, but not for everyone.

This place is good for coffee enthusiasts. It's a kind of experience, not a cafe. Although the chocolate cookie and Friis-Holm chocolates were perfect, the coffee was too strong for me. Maybe the tables zone could improve to be more cozy. The service was quick, nice, and well presented.

Coffee Oasis in a backyard of Aarhus. I had an iced coffee with a hint of blueberries, which was velvety soft. Tasted more like chocolate, what I really love. Also fell in love with their ceramics. Don’t miss that experience!

This is really a coffee lab! The iced coffee was fantastic, with homemade sirup. Nice cozy patio and industrial-style interior. We will definitely come back every tome we are in Aarhus! No food, they focus solely on the coffee. 👌

Stiller’s Coffee is a coffee connoisseur’s dream, with the most perfectly extracted espresso you can have, a pour over that tastes like liquid gold, and beans roasted daily. The tartar was good, as was the beer. Service is not that great. Don't expect table service here, order at bar. It's a bar with food more than a restaurant in my opinion. But it all worked out great so recommend.

Visited this place in July 2020. I must say that there a wide selection of microbrews with a relaxed and cosy atmosphere. Apart from home beers there some of the food or cuisines that are available Bryggerier. This is a bit rough atmosphere though but nice combined with high level beer and wine selection. The place is in a nice location located at water front and its about 20 minutes walk distance from the main city center. This place is quiet popular usually there lots of people specially after office hours.

Unfortunately, the worst steak ever - served cold and completely rare. The service is also bad and won’t take off the dishes from the first serving. if you want to have water, you need to pick it up yourself. Only the beers are good.

Super cozy little place, like walking into a time machine. The interior was and atmosphere was perfect. 3 Person walk in on a late Thursday was not a problem at all. The food was spot on, and the waitress was very friendly.

I have been here twice now, for Christmas parties, and both times the food was mediocre at best. I do not tolerate pieces of bone in my medisterpølse, and I have never had a worse risalamande in my life. If you look past the food, it's a great restaurant, both in location and atmosphere.
